Location is good, it's about 30 minutes walk to the colosseum and all other close by landmarks. 10-15 to Termini Centrale. Breakfast is amazing, they serve a variety of cold cuts and fresh fruits every morning, it's worth including it in your booking to avoid looking for a place to eat every morning. Rooms were clean and beds are comfortable. The room had a boiler, hair dryer, slippers and a TV but we didn't try to turn it on. The walls are thin but that's expected in Rome, and keeping the window open wasn't preferable because the noises from the streets (ambulances) were too loud, but temperature in room was good, mind you we came here in April so not sure how it is in winter/summer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Elevator is tiny but we enjoyed the experience, might not be fun for anyone claustrophobic but there are always stairs that can be used.

The place, price and location was ok but it can do with more modernisation. The best thing was the breakfast but I didn't really like the rooms as it was too old fashioned and mirrors look scary. The receptionist and helpers were friendly. We did find some hairs unfortunately so better cleaning needed and the worst part was the small elevator up which is not for someone who doesn't like tight spaces plus it's a hassle when you have big bags.

Best sleep ever... bed is comfortable and hugh. Hotel is absolutely clean... the Breakfast was exceptional... best bacon i'v eaten at a hotel... staff very helpful... 10 minutes walk from Termini station... exit from via Marsala street and walk straight through... then take left and u will find hotel at end of the street

We loved this hotel, the staff, the breakfast was delicious and everyone so nice all the time. Our room was very clean and we were close to what we needed or access to transportation. Thank you definitely will go back if I ever visit again Rome. Loved the cute elevator and all the details, I always dreamed Rome the way this hotel is

Easy 7 minute walk from Termini. Pleasant and efficient front desk. The hotel elevator is currently under renovation until April 2024 so that there was only a small service elevator available during our stay. Room is large, clean, quiet, and comfortable, with a particularly large bathroom with bath (rare to find these days...). Kettle with tea and coffee in room. The hotel breakfast is very good ... varied, many offerings, efficient table service. We needed to check-out before 7 am so the staff arranged a take-away breakfast assortment for us. In short ... good choice for anyone who wishes to stay close to Termini.

Hotel Canada has been managed by the same family for several generations and their staff clearly takes pride in maintaining a very high standard. I return whenever visiting Rome and always look forward to my next visit. The rooms are comfortable, kept sparkling clean and freshly decorated. The breakfast provided in a beautiful, light filled dining room exceeds expectations. During my recent visit two new lifts were being installed, without the slightest disruption to normal hotel services. The bedroom overlooking a central court was absolutely quiet, with bird song heard through the open window in the mornings. This hotel is in a quiet, pleasant area with restaurants and a convenience store in the lower floor of Termini station which is seven minutes walk away.

Wonderful hotel, our second stay here. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast buffet, excellent service, excellent selections. Lots of choices of Teas. Easy walking distance from train and metro station. Close to access hop on hop off buses.

This is our second visit to the hotel and enjoyed it again. Old world charm, cage elevators and a touch of Old Montreal. Only difference this time breakfast wasn't included and there was no happy hour. Still drink prices were reasonable. Located within 3 blocks of Rome Termini Station. Will visit again.

A good place to stay! Good beds, clean rooms, nice breakfast. They helped us with everything we asked: print tickets, umbrella's, a knife when we bought bread to eat in the evening. The only thing to improve: the shower: the water that came out was very little. But conclusion: I would recommend this hotel to all my friends!

From the staff to the cleanliness and the breakfast selection to the location, this hotel was 5 star all the way!!! Each and every staff member we encountered was so kind and helpful!!! The room was spacious and immaculately kept on a daily basis. Excellent quality toiletries provided! The hotel's location is about 35 min from the airport (which was convenient), and about a 20 min walk to the Trevi Fountain. I would HIGHLY recommend a stay here, and hope to come back again soon!!! PS….the bed was BEYOND comfortable!!

Very centralized hotel close to Rome Termini. Great service from front desk and Mr. Always there. Comfortable room, very tiny elevator, good resting area and Mr. Always there prepare great Apperol Spritzers. When back in Rome, I will book the same hotel!

I looked A LOT at different hotels on different sites for our 2nt stay in Rome. We had been traveling and were there just before getting on a cruise. The hotel was wonderful. Great location, staff and Breakfast. Yum. We also enjoyed a couple of local restaurants for dinner. Reasonable and delicious. I highly recommend Hotel Canada.

We stayed as a family for a weekend to explore Rome. We walked to all the main sights from the hotel so didn't use the nearby stations. It isn't the heart of touristy areas but about 30mins walk to Trevi fountain/colosseum/other busy areas. The lift is tiny and says from 1955 but you'd think 1855. Over 100 stairs to the fifth floor so if you have mobility issues and don't like tiny lifts ask for a lower floor. They did say there was another lift that was currently not working, so something for the future. The room was a good size and comfy. Traditional features including in the bathroom. The breakfast at €9 each was good value. Lots of choice of pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt, breads, meats, cheeses, salad. Cooked is scrambled egg and bacon/chopped sausage mixed. The hotel bar was reasonably priced; €5 a glass of wine. I would recommend. It was a good stay.

The front desk prides themselves on old world service and it show. I know the bellhop was very helpful with our bags and very kind. Hotel is clean and comfortable. We got the breakfast and it was elegant with delicious food. Our room was a good size furnished with antiques with a nice size bathroom. There are extra touches such as slippers in the bathroom and a little balcony. It is about 3 blocks from Termini. The elevator is historic but small and being replaced. There is a decent restaurant next to the hotel where we ate when we went. Metro station was around the corner. This was our second visit here.

Hotel Canada is a lovely, classic hotel. Beautifully furnished with Italian antiques. Their employees are all welcoming and enthusiastic, and breakfast buffet offering is great. I would take 1/2 point off as the location is close to the train stations, but off the path from major Rome attractions. If you don't mind using transit or taxi, it's a great hotel. Some good restaurants are also nearby and proved convenient and fun.

Hotel Canada is a 5 star hotel in all ways. When we arrived, the front desk folks treated us as though we regulars and welcomed us as such. The staff was exceptional in friendliness, knowledge, helpfulness and humor. No matter what we asked, we received a quick and helpful response. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was plenty spacious with all the amenities we needed (except an in-room fridge). Housekeeping was efficient and friendly as well. The lobby is large with different seating areas. The bar is at one end and seating for the bar is available either inside or outside on the patio. We used both, where we met another couple and enjoyed ourselves for 2 days talking with them. Others have mentioned the water cooler in the lobby and there are choices of regular or mineral (sparkling ?) water. This hotel is in an older building, 1800s I believe, and the elevator is different but interesting. Overall, I do not how hotels are rated or even what the rating for Hotel Canda is, but in my book it is a 5 star all the way !

This is the place , about 3 blocks from Rome train terminal, buses inside Rome , and to outlaying cities in Italy , are right there , yet the hotel is in a lovely neighbourhood. It's a Modern Hotel that feels like home , Clean , well kept , with an exceptional staff , Arber at the front desk was wonderful, Emanuelle the lovely lady manager was also so helpful . The water cooler in the lobby was great , filling up our water bottle with soda or water . The room was amazing , we were upgraded to a junior suite ( never happens to us ) the painted ceiling was a artistic Masterpiece, the room was 5 star , close to everything, You have the pick of all the restaurants in the area . Breakfast was a good buffet , for 9 euro each , 24 to 48 hour transportation passes available at the train terminal , which is also close to the Metro , We fell in love with Rome , and Hotel Canada , we will be back

An excellent hotel in Rome. We stayed here for a few days, and really enjoyed it. It's a very well maintained hotel, handy for Termini travel hub. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was spot on with plentiful choice. Highly recommended all round.

I cannot say enough good about it, room was large, breakfast was exceptional, staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful, the convenience to the subway (1 block) and dining (less than a block to multiple), and the character (interesting old elevator). The room was more than we expected and we felt like we were in a guest room in someone's house instead of a hotel.

Very friendly staff. Great bar with good selection of drinks. Nice snacks included with the drinks. Lovely room spacious and cool even in the 41°C heatwave that Rome experienced whilst we were there. Very clean throughout. Lift available to get bags upstairs. Old world style decor, nice bathroom suite and extensive toiletries. Took us 10 mins fromTermini walking with big, wheeled suitcases. Right next to Metro stop so easy to get round city. Good choice of restaurants nearby. Filtered drinking water available in the lobby. Breakfast was very good.

The service and welcome in this hotel was exceptional, better than many 5 star establishments I have stayed in. Room spacious and clean. Not the best air con I've ever come across but did the job. Breakfast exceptional value at €9 ahead. Not on top of the main sights but close enough! Highly recommend.

This is the best front-desk staff I've ever encountered at any hotel--in any price range--I've stayed at. They were amazingly helpful and accommodating, had great senses of humor, responded quickly and always in a friendly fashion, handled any requests with promptness and grace, whether in person or via email. Every front desk agent looked like they truly enjoyed their work and loved working at this hotel--and they went out of their way to make sure guests were happy. The hotel overall was excellent--our double deluxe was spacious, with storage space galore, and nicely furnished. Maid service was efficient and quick. I stayed here because I was teaching at Sapienza University of Rome, a ten-minute walk away. The hotel is a bit out of the way for the major tourist attractions, but Termini is only a ten-minute walk away, where you can get buses anywhere. There are a couple of nice restaurants a block or two away, though we found ourselves going across town for special meals. There's a nice bar in the lobby, and the very pleasant lobby turns into a comfortable bar every evening.

We had a VERY poor experience with Hotel Canada. After a very long 6 hour train, we were so excited to get to Rome for our final night of our vacation. We arrived to find out that our room (that we booked 5 months before) was not available due to plumbing issues. The manager advised that the hotel was sold out, and their only solution was to send us to a hotel down the street which was of “similar quality.” That was NOT the case. The alternative hotel was absolutely disgusting. We went back to Hotel Canada and advised of this, and all they could say was “sorry” and offered us free coffee which we did not accept. We ended up having to seek refuge and pay out of pocket for a Marriott hotel since the alternative provided by Hotel Canada was filthy. All to say, Hotel Canada did not offer reimbursement and even would not refund our travel agency. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.

We had such a fantastic time staying at the Hotel Canada for our visit in Roma. The staff were very attentive, our room unique, clean and tidy, the hotel felt like home, and it was a 10min walk from Termini station. Our personal highlight was the breakfast. Delicious and with a great variety of options, we loved it every morning. A big and heartfelt thank you to all the staff!! Such an excellent experience.

It`s a Fantastic Hotel. You should have it in mind as a 4 star hotel (and not 3). The bst we find there was the smile and kindnes of the staff. Alwyas there to help you in any need. The breakfast amazing and well served. The room clean and comfort. The price of the drinks on the bar of the hotel was very very good (for your last drink at night). Overall, we will be back. I cannot understand how could this three stars not reach a five stars. Canada hotel is an awesome place to rest, to have breakfast and to visit the most important tourist spots of Rome. Located five blocks from Termini it is two blocks far from Castro Petronio, line B of Metro. The location is safe and perfect. The staff attention is also very good. At breafast we were on good hands of gentle Michaela, Massimo and Claudio among others from staff.

My family spent 5 days in your wonderful hotel from 31.12.-.01.04.2023. Not one or two, the entire staff was always kind, always helpful. Thank you for helping us spend 5 wonderful days in Rome. A few words about the hotel. Beautiful, retro design, super clean, with an excellent breakfast (cappuccino is TOP), very reasonable prices for drinks in the bar. Old elevator, antique still furniture. You feel like in a good old movie. Great, very quiet location, metro station 100-200 meters, connection to Vatican and Colosseum, main train station "Termini" 10 minutes walk, tons of good small Italian restaurants nearby, just ask the front desk and they will give you a good recommendation, with welcome drinks in nearby restaurants. I searched 20 hotels before arriving. Excellent balance of value and price. The most sincere recommendations. We will come to you again. Thank you

Recently spent 3 nights at the Hotel Canada. The staff was extremely helpful, especially as we weee jet lagged and experiencing our first trip to Rome. Nice room, although a little small by modern standards, but with a good-sized bathroom. Would recommend to anyone looking for close proximity to the termini.

This hotel is wonderful! From arranging transportation to airport, communication, help with laundry services, restaurants, taxis, and whatever else we needed. The staff went above and beyond. A short 7 minute walk to the termini train station. Great restaurants close by. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel breakfast is heroics and delicious. I really cannot say enough. Arber and Vincenzo were especially wonderful to us and we feel we made new friends. These men are an excellent to your company. We will recommend to everyone!!! We will miss you!

From the moment we arrived we loved the hotel. Friendly greeting, lovely very clean room with a nice big bathroom. All the staff appreciated our attempts at the Italian language! The breakfast was fabulous, a wide choice of meats, vegetables, cheeses, eggs and cereal, rolls, toast, croissants, lots more too. Ten minute walk from the train station where the airport bus also drops off. If we ever visit Rome again we will certainly book this hotel.

Excellent hotel. Staff was so friendly and helpful. I texted at the last minute, right before arrival and they arranged a transfer from the airport for me. Thank you, that was so appreciated!!! I really had no plans for our trip and they were so helpful in giving us some ideas. Room and rest of hotel was so pretty, so ROME!!!!! I loved the authentic lift, so quaint and adds such character to the hotel. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Hotel and room very clean. Slippers included. Bath products were wonderful. I recommend bringing your own water bottle (or they provide in the lobby to purchase) so you can get fresh water from their water machine in the lobby. Only downside was the bathroom had a terrible sulphur smell, and the shower had a closure that caused the water to leak. Location: Near the train station a taxi ride away from the center of Rome. We just came back from our trip from Italy and stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. Like other reviews, the location, the staff, the facilities, the breakfast, everything was very good. Our room was a deluxe double room, which has a little balcony outside and a separate couch area. The bathroom has a skinny bathtub and it was a bit hard to change the direction of the shower but considering many hotels in Rome normally have just a small shower stand, I think it was good from the Roman standard. The breakfast was adequate for everyone. The old elevator was very unique and charming. What we loved the most about this hotel was the friendly staff. Almost every night we enjoyed some quick drinks at the bar next to the reception and the prices were quite reasonable. The lady in the breakfast room took good care of us, too. We highly recommend this hotel to everyone and will be back in the future.

Very clean, friendly hotel. I have never slept so well as during my stay. I asked and they told me they just bought new mattress. Breakfast was very good ( do not expect excellence) and everybody may find something tasty. Not far from the train station Termini, it takes 10 minutes walking. People working there very nice. Look for discount offer, sometime it happens.

My husband and I (in our 60s) spent 5 very contented nights in this hotel which we used as a base for exploring Rome. I chose the hotel based on its location .... 900m walk from the Termini railway station which links you to anywhere you may wish to go. The blue Metro line is just around the corner too. The Leonardo express train from Termini brings you directly to Fiumicino Airport ...a 25 min trip for €14 single (buy tickets from TrenItalia kiosks). Being a Best Western hotel also featured in my decision to book Hotel Canada...good standards. The hotel is located in Via Vicenza, a quiet street with plenty of good restaurants in the area so there's no need to travel far to eat which was very welcome after long days on our feet exploring the sites of Rome. As can be seen on the hotel's website it is an old world style hotel filled with classic antique furniture, paintings and four poster beds. The artwork on the ceilings are a sight to behold. We booked a standard double room which wasn't very big but certainly adequate. The double bed exceeded 5ft in width and was very comfortable. Our room was also very clean and we couldn't fault the cleaning staff. The bathroom was very generous in size. It had a full size bath which included a shower (a little awkward to control the spray from the shower head as it wasn't mounted on an end wall but not a major issue). We had two comfortable armchairs in our room and good space for storage. The kettle and coffee/tea making facilities were very welcome. Sound proof windows were a bonus as our room face on to a busy street. There was no noise from other guests at night time and we felt as if the entire hotel was ours! Breakfast at €9 each was very good value and well worth the extra payment. Staff at breakfast were very attentive and professional in their manner. A great variety of food was on offer ...fresh fruit, cereals, breads, cold meats and cheeses, pastries and scrambled eggs and bacon. We loved the classy crockery that was used in the breakfast room. 9am seems to be the busiest time and you may have to wait for a table then. I would like to thank Arber for his very helpful suggestions and tips too. He steered us clear of some tourist traps (expensive guided tours etc) and was more than willing to print pre booked tickets for us. It is always a bonus to have a good English speaking member of staff on hand to offer assistance. In fact all staff members we met spoke English well. I will recommend this hotel to friends and family. It has all you need to make for a very pleasant stay in Rome and its convenient location makes it a good choice too (2km walk to Spanish Steps and about a 30 min walk to the Colosseum) Finally some TIPS: ... Use coopculture.it to prebook tickets for entry to the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill. A €24 ticket gains you entry to all 3 sites and is valid for a 48 hr period. (Guides outside the Colosseum charge €25 just for a tour of the Colosseum only). Do book a few days in advance even in November! .... Free tickets for the Wednesday papal audience in the Vatican can be obtained from the Swiss Guards at the gate which is on the Via di Porta Angelica outside the Vatican walls (the road that leads to the Metro station and Vatican museum). Tickets can be collected on the morning of the audience in November (not high season) and entry is on a first come, first served basis. .... Castel Sant'Angelo is worth a visit ...good views from the top .... Palatine Hill is an oasis of calm and serenity and an escape from the crowds. Great views of the Forum and Colosseum from the top. .... Make sure to climb to the top of Victor Emmanuel monument ...great views and there is a restaurant available.

Just checked into the historic and beautiful Hotel Canada and were warmly met by Emmanuel and Antonio . They are very friendly and proud of the hotel. Rooms were spotless and the neighborhood is loaded with restaurants. We were met promptly by Mario, even though our plane was several hours late. More later after we have been here a while

From the moment of our arrival until after we left, the staff were wonderful (attentive, responsive, friendly, helpful)! A restaurant recommendation led to a free glass of Prosecco for each of us and a wonderful meal. The staff went above and beyond, even after we left! Halfway to the airport, I realized I had left our passports in the safe (along with an envelope of cash). Obviously we wouldn't be going anywhere without the passports! They retrieved the contents of the safe and worked with me and a driver to have the package delivered to me at the airport in time for us to check in. I am very grateful for their help in rectifying my mistake! The hotel itself was great - very clean and full of character! We had a spacious deluxe room; the king size bed was very comfortable, the toiletries provided were top quality. We only stayed in the hotel one night but if I'm ever lucky enough to get to Rome again, I know where I'll be staying! Thank you!

Love this hotel! We stayed in a deluxe room which was beautifully appointed and well maintained. The entire hotel has wonderful character and the staff was professional, pleasant and efficient. Clearly they have pride in their establishment, which is rightly deserved. Convenient location near the train station.

My friend and I stayed at The Hotel Canada for a 5 day break in October. It's an absolutely fantastic, traditional, family run hotel. The staff were friendly, very helpful and made us feel so welcome during our stay. Our twin room was immaculate, clean, with comfortable beds, cosy and Italian. The breakfast was excellent with a lot to chose from, catering for all tastes. The hotel has a wonderful, old fashioned, lift which is a lovely feature. Very good recommendations for places to eat in restaurants nearby. The train station was only a 5 minute walk away. We took taxis to the main tourist sights. 15 euros for The Vatican and 12 to The Colosseum. Thoroughly recommend and very worthy of 3 stars.

Stayed in this beautiful hotel for a 4 night break and was not disappointed. Our room was lovely with lots of Italian charm and character and was absolutely spotless. The breakfast was served in the charming dining room with a fantastic choice of cheeses, meats, grilled vegetables, frittata, fruit, yogurts and the usual pastries and sweet treats. The hotel is located on a lovely street with lots of restaurants in easy walking distance and near to an underground station but we chose to walk to all the major sites, even The Vatican was only about 45 minutes to walk. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. When we return to Rome we will not hesitate to stay here again.

This is a Best Western property though in the US Best Western is the greatest in Europe it's a very good value, nice product! We arrive to Rome via train which was about a 10-1 5 minute walk with our luggage to the hotel from the station. As soon as you enter it is apparent this is a beautiful, historic property. We had two rooms. The one family room we booked was your run of the mill generic room. The room I booked for my husband and I was stunning! I believe I had booked a suite and each room had a painted mural on the ceiling. Apparently they were discovered during renovations. The bed was comfortable, the location ideal. The reception helped us get a dinner reservation nearby which we loved. We found this place to be perfect for our budget, location, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again!

Great discovery in a usually expensive Rome. Everything was pleasant, the staff, the little bar, the excellent breakfast (9€), the coffee, the room, the comfortable bed…..The only thing missing is a fridge. Super location!

The room and beds were comfortable. The location is convenient to the train station. I appreciated the shuttle to the airport. The AC seemed to be really weak, so it was good that it was a bit cooler outside. The location is quite a ways away from Rome's main sites, and there are few restaurants in the area that got good reviews.

Recently I stayed at Hotel Canada for 3 nights and it was very nice! The hotel was close to Termini. About 9 minutes walk from the station. The hotel itself was rather nice as well. I booked directly from the hotel website and paid in advance through payment system. I've asked for a quiet room as I know Rome could be very noisy. My previous stay at fancy hotel was disturbed by traffic. The hotel management noted my request and assigned me a quiet room. The room was cute. Breakfast could be busy as the hotel was full. The staff work very hard here. After I left Rome, I realized that I forgot my expensive sunglasses in the room. I emailed the hotel management asking if they could send my sunglasses to London. The management responded right away and told me about shipping cost. I paid for express mail. The sunglasses arrived a couple of days later in London. Wow. What a service! I will definitely consider staying here again if I come back to Rome.

The staff is amazing here. The most polite and customer service oriented hotel experience we've had through Europe. They have a great little bar and sitting area. Massimo at the bar was one of the most amazing people We've ever met and not to mention a great bartender. He offered us small homemade snacks while sitting in the warm comfy social area. He speaks Italian of course along with English and Spanish. There is a cute outdoor terrace to enjoy as well. The location is great! Walking distance to the train and bus station. Super easy to find. Close to the red and blue subways so you can easily ride to the tourist sites. The rooms are large and clean. Front desk staff arranged transport to the airport a large van for 4 with 6 bags for €50. Overall this place is a steal. The hotel is classic and feels very historic, Yet it's tastefully updated in a way to not steal from its character.

Excellent value for money. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious for the price. Employees are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is very good and only costs 10 EUR. Location is very good, close to Termini, a metro station and plenty of bus stops that take you to most of the sights. The only reason I didn't give it 5 points rating is because of course it is not a 5 stars hotel experience since it has its minor quirks like the elevetor. But overall very happy for chosing this hotel and again excellent price quality ratio.

Nice clean comfortable hotel - centrally located. The staff were really helpful and the breakfast was really good. There are a lot of restaurants located nearby and it is very close to the Roma Termini station - walkable with luggage.

I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Rome, we had a great time there (2 adults and 2 kids). Breakfast was enjoyable and we walked everywhere from the hotel during our week long stay, most places were a 30 minute walk maximum with the exception of the Vatican which was more like 45 mins, but in a place like Rome even an hour walk would have been pleasurable with all the architecture and sites to see on the way to wherever you're going. Breakfast offered a great choice and good value

We were treated like family from check in to check out. We were 2 females and felt very safe. Lovely area with many cafes/restaurants and supermarket. Quick walk to subway and Termini. Had a great time

We stayed here in 2014 and I gave it a great review. Weren't sure if 8 years later we would be just as happy but we were. We love this place. The staff is incredibly friendly. Location is brilliant - very close to Termini Station The rooms are clean, a decent side. The bed is amazing - best sleep of the trips so far The little bar is a nice place to end the day. The breakfast was great. Absolutely no complaints and it will forever be my go to place in Roma. HIGHY RECOMMEND

If you are looking for some Old World charm in Rome, please consider Hotel Canada. It is very close to the Rome Train Terminal, so close you wont need a cab or Uber. The closest Metro stop is right around the corner at Castro Pretoria on the Blue Line. Getting on and off there was a lots less of a hassle than walking down to the Termini station. Hotel Canada has been run by the same family since the 1960's. They clearly love their grande dame, as all the walls are scuff free, everything seems freshly painted and spotlessly clean. The ceilings are painted with frills and ribbons and there's plaster moldings around the ceilings. We had the standard European room for a couple, 2 twin beds pushed close together. My husband loved the pillows. The bathroom was a little odd with the spray shower head on the long wall of the bathtub with just a half shower door. And the water pressure was a little on the weak side. However you get all kinds of toiletries, including toothbrushes and toothpaste,soaps, shampoos, body gels, lotions etc. Our booking included the breakfast- don't skimp on that!! Lots of fresh delicious pastries, breads tarts, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit and hand made cappuccinos or American coffee. Wait staff efficient and friendly. There is also a little bar in the cozy lobby where you can have espresso in the morning or cocktails in the afternoon. Some rules to observe: they ask that you drop your key at the desk when you leave. You can retrieve as soon as you return. And CLOSE the doors to the elevator as you exit. There is a quaint tiny elevator in the stairwell and if any of the doors are left open, it will not answer when another guest rings for it.

Excellent stay. Breakfast is not included but is reasonably priced and impressive with delicious baked goods, eggs, frittata, cereals, fruits, etc. My family's favorite part is the hotel staff, Arber is our favorite as he is funny and kind and remembered us right off the bat. His suggestions for food, travel, etc have been spot on. Cleaning service has been great too. Warning: Some noise on the lower level for those used to quiet. Bed super comfortable and a nice spot to fill your water bottles before starting the day.

Hotel full of history and charme, near Rome main train station but without the challenges of the ones on top of the train satation. 5 minutes walk and you are in a nice/safe zone with good restaurants in the same street.

Hotel Canada and staff was a very comfortable and pleasant hotel. We were treated like honorable guests and the management and staff paid attention to your requests and needs without hesitation. The breakfast was a healthy and varied assortment of cereals, meats, fruits, veggies, breads, cheezes, pastries, beverages, teas and coffees plus more and the kitchen staff were courteous and friendly. Our stay was met with professionalism and a history of long standing family hoteliers that understand the guests expectations. Highly recommend this hotel in a great location near the metro and many nice restaurants within walking distance. Clean and like home away from home.

Really good location for a great price! The hotel was cleaned perfectly, the staff were attentive and very helpful. The free toiletries in the bathroom were excellent for a three star hotel. My only issue was the noise. I had a courtyard facing room on the first floor but it was still noisy. As the floors are all tiled, you hear everything and the cleaners start early (7.30/8am) so not ideal if you'd like a lie in. I'd recommend ear plugs! Overall, a really nice hotel with a great location.

The hotel was perfectly located, just a 10min walk to Roma Termini. This is the main reason we booked this for our tour of Rome. The room was adequate, but what made our stay amazing was Massimo. Such a kind gentleman! There was 1 day we needed to leave before the buffet opens but Massimo graciously prepared a to go breakfast for us the night before. Every morning he sees us at the breakfast table, he would greet us with a smile (while wearing a mask) and ask us how our stay was. We will never forget him! To the management - i hope you are paying him well cos he is such an asset to your hotel, he deserves a raise and keep him as long as possible!

our experience at hotel Canada was excellent, we stayed for the first time in Rome, for 5 nights, and we loved the hotel, and their attention. Excellent breakfasts, their staff super friendly, the hotel furniture, very classic, with an Italian charm. We really loved it, and we will probably visit Rome once again and we will stay at the same hotel.

Traditional Italian decor with drapes, soft furnishing and shutters. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Good nights sleep in comfy bed. Staff friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was typical continental and was adequate to start the day for exploring Rome. 10 minute walk fromTermini station for trains, trains to airport, metro and buses. Air con was ok, could've done with being a bit cooler given how hot it was during our stay. A mini fridge/bar would've been useful but there was a water cooler in reception so could always get cold water to refill bottles. No complaints from me and would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was our 5th visit to Rome. On our 2nd visit we stayed here, and now we would not stay anywhere else in central Rome. We arrived early after our cruise and a crowded train ride from the port town of Civitavecchia, which the cruise lines call Rome, but it's 80km/50 miles away. We had walked the km to the train station and then rode a very crowded train to Termini before our short walk here. I have status with Best Western due to their matching my IHG status so we were upgraded to a room with a separate living room. The bathroom was very nice with tub/shower combo and made for several relaxing soakings. The living area had a sofa and desk. I discovered that if I left a credit card like object (I used our cruise ship key card) in the electric slot then the air would stay on while we were out. Just be warned, that it also makes the "Do Not Disturb" sign light up so I would remove it when we left around lunch time! The bedroom area had a bed that took up most of the room. There was large armoire with ample room plus a TV in the corner. Both sides of the bed had outlet stations for phone charging and several electrical items. There was a balcony off the bedroom area so we sat out one night in the inner courtyard. This was our 1st stay in the interior area, but it worked out great and was very quiet in Room 234 despite the proximity of the elevator. Ample and quality bathroom supplies were provided as well. I love the uniqueness of each room with the quality decorations and antiques. Other than the room, the staff were all top notch and welcoming. We enjoy the Canada bar when we're there because of the very inexpensive, high quality wines. I drank several bottles sitting in the bar area while enjoying the complimentary pistachios and peanuts. The second night of our 2 night stay, we were tired so we took our wine back to the room and sat on the balcony. The breakfast is good. I included it in my reservation so am not sure of the cost if not prebooked. I saw some reviews stating it was less than 10€, but I paid more to add to my reservation so I don't think that's correct???? Breakfast is ok but not the best. Shortfalls include no eggs made to order, most pastries have a glaze, powdered sugar, or both, and some items don't stay warm since there are no heating devices under them. The coffee is very good and brought by the staff. Eggs were either scrambled or boiled. There were limited hot meat choices but plenty of cold cuts, including several types of cheese. Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day to me, I notice these things. In summary, we plan to return on our next visit to Rome. Prices are up significantly since our last visit in January 2019, but that's the case everywhere. The bar prices have been raised as well, but only by a few €'s. It's still the only Best Western that's my 1st choice in any town. I usually stay at IHG or Hilton brands, but this out does any of them in Rome. My wife and I stayed at Hotel Canada for 4 nights in May. We love this hotel so much and we've stayed here several times. We would always book this hotel on our trips to Rome. It has a chic charm and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble and they are extremely helpful with advice for how to get around the city etc. This isn't the boring business hotel that is seen everywhere with the standard furniture. The rooms here are unique and have Italian charm and instantly make you feel welcome and special. Breakfast was a delight! The hotel is in a quiet area, we heard no traffic noise in the times we've stayed here. Buses and trains are closely situated within a short walking distance and bars and restaurants close by, also within walking distance.

The owners and staff at this wonderful hotel made our visit a home away from home. We have been fortunate enough to stay in some of the finest 5 star hotels in the world. We would not hesitate to return to Hotel Canada. This hotel operates at a level much higher than its rating. We stayed there for 3 weeks and every day the staff made sure we had everything we needed to make our visit memorable. The Pucci family love there Hotel and it shines through all of the staff who work there.

Charming hotel located in a great neighborhood. Far from overcrowded areas, this hotel sits on a quiet street but within walking distance from great restaurants. Friendly staff providing great service.

No surprise where we chose for our post pandemic city break. Nor our choice of hotel which has been our home of choice when we are in this amazing city- usually about once ever 2 years. Since our first visit in 1998 we have become used to the excellent hospitality from staff members, many of whom have been here for years. Always a good sign. Fir the first time we were on the first floor close to the lovely antique lift ( a real treat). This was noisier than usual as one can hear the comings and goings a bit more readily than one might wish. If this is an issue to you ask to go higher up. Staff have always gone out of their way to meet requests. Good breakfast filled one up for the day. Rooms very comfortable. 100 metres from the nearest metro and 500 metres from Termini. Easily walkable with wheeled luggage. A number of good and inexpensive eateries nearby. Our taxi for the airport arrived early. In my fluster to get away I left my iPad behind. A call from the airport followed . Luckily my son was in town 2 weeks later. My device was put in the hotel safe for collection and I am now writing this review on the same device . Many many thanks. Really looking forward to my next visit.

We spent two nights in this hotel that is walking distance from Rome Termini train station. Hotel location has a number of good restaurants and a pharmacy that is useful for COVID tests near by. We stayed with a family of 4. For the money the hotel was a good value. The building was old but charming and clean. There was a bar with a lounge that was pretty but seemed seldom used. The breakfast area was beautiful - and for 6 EUR per person the breakfast was simply amazing - a buffet with service that is really really top notch and I would highly recommend. Our room for a family of 4 was large - the toiletries and towels were high end - although we didn't have enough and it took a bit It to correct it with the night staff but they ultimately did. The layout for a family of 4 was a double bed and 2 single beds. One of the single beds was very uncomfortable but the other two were good. There was good closet space. The bathroom was a bit dated and it took a bit to figure out to work the shower without flooding the bathroom but we figured it out right when we had to leave. The hotel walls were very thin - you could hear a lot (and we were apparently heard as well). There is a small single elevator that's slow but typical for older buildings in Rome - which means those with a lot o luggage may have to wait a bit but not a deal beaker. All in all - it was a good experience and if I needed to stay somewhere that was near the train station this would be a good place. In summary the location, breakfast, service, room size, and value for money I thought were good. The 3rd bed, bathrooms a bit being dated, and thin walls creating a slightly noisier environment were slight negatives. But for the price we paid during peak season - this is a good place.

The hotel is about a 5 min walk from the train terminal. Very easy to walk to. The reception area is very clean and comfortable. Our room was a perfect size with a bath and a shower. The room was in excellent condition. The hotel is modern in a classical way. The staff are first class. Breakfast for 6 euro is top class. Because all the bus tours leave from the terminal this hotel is perfect. There are plenty of very good restaurants very close to the hotel. Around the corner from the hotel is the yellow bar, excellent staff and is a great place to relax after a busy site seeing day. I highly recommend this hotel and yes we will be back.

Quite noisy since the doors and walls are very thin so we could hear everything in the hallways. But great service from especially the breakfastteam! Close to the Metro and train and busstation. Calm neighborhood.

This hotel has old world charm with modern amenities. The staff are wonderfully helpful and gracious. This is our favorite hotel in Rome and keep coming back. Quiet neighborhood but close to Termini and Metro.

Just spent three nights at this lovely hotel less than 5mins walk from Termini Station (just make sure you get the correct train station exit). Very grand reception and seating/bar areas combined with traditional rustic style Italian bedrooms. The staff are great, friendly and helpful and we paid for the €6 breakfast which was value for money. We enjoy walking and walked the length and breadth of the city for all the main attractions from this hotel and was never more than 45mins from most places. Taxi, metro etc would be much quicker but this is to highlight the great location. Travelled with three couples in total who all loved the trip and we spent the latter part of each evening in the hotel bar which is amazingly well priced. Special mention to the lovely Massimo on the bar who was amazing, helpful, funny and is a great credit to the hotel. We'll definitely be back!

I am originary from Rome, but I lived in Sweden for ten years. I was in town for work, and I booked this hotel. I had a great experience. The personnel was very kind, the structure was charming, clean, and they served a fantastic breakfast buffet. I recommend this place!

This is a lovely hotel, old in style but with everything you would associate with a modern hotel. The staff were all brilliant really friendly and there to help. Breakfasts were good although wish hard boiled eggs were hot not cold but that's just me being picky. A nice bar area to chill in after a long day of exploring. A bit outside the main tourist areas which suited us, the time station is 5 minutes walk and then 10 minutes on the tube or off a 25 minute stroll into the hustle and bustle

Great location, clean & comfortable double bedroom facing the rear of the hotel on the 3rd floor - (no street traffic noise). Breakfast is excellent - a wide selection of food - also, eggs are prepared with bacon. Most staff speak very good English especially at the reception (Check-in & check-out). The entire staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to the train station & bus terminal - 15 minutes - a plus. a Pizza take-away shop is located - 1 block from the hotel. Also, there's a PAM supermarket, 2 blocks away. It's a nice 35 minute walk to the 'Fountain of Trevi'.

Even though I am Lifetime Hilton Diamond, we decided to stay here since our friends in Milano recommended the hotel. They had stayed here mutliple times and now I see why. We were here over the New Year's weekend & had a great time. Wonderful staff - Antonella (housekeeping - she was great), Massimo - also helped us with our bags, Claudo, and all of the breakfast staff. We enjoyed the daily breakfast (buffet but served.) The hotel front desk staff were also so helpful & polite. We stayed for four nights. The hotel is very quiet at night compared to those near the Colosseum and all the loud traffic on the main roads. This hotel is a good 30 minute walk to the Colosseum & about 15 minutes to the train station. Next door to the hotel there is a Pizzeria Trattoria that is very good, nice service and we ate there twice. Their sign is black and white. I point this out as there are quite a few but this one was really good. St. Peter's is easy to get to from the train station (only about 4-5 stops away) and cost us only $4 Euros each roundtrip. The double-decker tour buses line up in front of the main train station and luckily there are also tons of white Taxi cabs there too. So very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Nicely kept hotel building. Staff were generally courteous. Good amenties. Breakfast was 'served buffet'; the staff were giving us the food. Did ask for fried eggs the 1st morning and was told that they were not available. That seemed a bit odd for such a hotel; the next morning they did get me some. I will recommend this hotel. It is about 25 mins walk from Collosseum.

This was our fourth stay, the last three years ago before the pandemic. The service retains its high standard, with extremely helpful front desk staff. Rooms are large by European standards, with comfortable queen-size beds, large bathrooms, strong Wi-Fi and a full range of international cable channels. Decor is very traditional, but there are enough outlets for the devices we all bring. The hotel retains its traditional charm, including a traditional two-person elevator with manual doors, surrounded by the hotel's staircase. Rooms have both double-glazed windows (that open) and shutters, so they're quiet. The copious pre-pandemic buffet breakfast has had to be scaled back and you now pick out what you want and one of the hardworking staff brings it to your table. There are eggs and bacon, meats and cheeses, rolls and pastries, fruit salad and cereals, yogurt, and pots of coffee. The hotel is well-located, a nine-minute walk to Termini (with an express train to Fiumicino) and two minutes from Castro Petrorio metro on Line B. The neighborhood has many restaurants at all price ranges and style of Italian cuisine, popular bars, and several excellent gelaterias.

We have stayed in the Hotel Canada many times, and we were delighted to return in November 2021 for the first time since the Covid outbreak began. We love the location: near Termini and even nearer to a metro station. The hotel staff are just as gracious and welcoming as always. The room was comfortable, and the wifi worked well. Breakfast is good, but the poor staff are required, as a Covid prevention measure, to put everything you ask for on the buffet onto a tray and bring it to you. Despite that, the buffet remains very good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. Location is a 5 min walk to the main Termini. A number of dining options walking distance in the neighborhood. The Hotel decor is Old Rome and the rooms were clean and well serviced. High ceilings with a genuine feel. I'd recommend a courtside room, as streetside can be a bit noisy. The hotel staff were magnificent and supported all our needs with smiles and the utmost of professionalism. For the price, this experience was a great bargain. If you are doing a short stay vacation, you cannot go wrong with this Best Western location.

Great hotel, large lobby area, near the train station, and a short metro ride to Centro Storico. We had the junior suite which was spacious, quiet, and very nicely decorated. It felt more like a home. Although we only stayed two nights on a stop-over, we will definitely return for the great amenities and service. We had made-to-order breakfast in the room. It was a feast-eggs, toast, jam, butter, cornetto, orange juice, strong Italian coffee. The service was great, even before arrival. When we contacted them months ahead of time, although the hotel was closed, the office responded to our emails lightning fast and answered all our questions.

We have visited Rome several times over the years and the hotel Canada would always be our first choice , we have strayed a few times when there was no availability, but have always returned for a total of eight times. The hotel is an oasis of tranquility amid the hustle and bustle of the city, Rated as a three star but with palatial rooms, fantastic breakfast, spotlessly clean, proximity to Termini and Castro Pretorio metro station it is worthy of more. Our last stay was March 2020 just as Italy went into ‘lockdown', and unfortunately all our activities were curtailed, but the staff bent over backwards to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We would recommend the Canada to anybody visiting Rome, and we look forward to returning again soon.

Reservation enquiry was handled very professionally and prompt. Welcoming experience at the Hotel was excellent and the room was spacious for 3 guests with all the amenities and comfort. Hotel is situated just few blocks plus less than 10 minutes walking from Roma Termini in a nice zone. The presence of the Owner is felt with the eyes for details, hence every corner of the Hotel was wonderfully kept well and preserved. Service is another factor where this Hotel is ranked high from our side, noted in the breakfast room, Reception, Bar and Housekeeping. The Guest lift is a weak point on which the management should look on, as many times the users leave the doors open which block the lift. Perhaps finally found a nice Hotel in Rome with many reasons to stay again in a cozy home away from home. Highly recommended from my great experience, and I am sure the staff will keep up the great Team work of Hospitality.

Enjoyed this quiet, air-conditioned oasis during very hot days in Rome. Extremely clean, well-appointed rooms, and a very good breakfast. Outstanding staff—very caring, friendly and helpful! Also, very comfortable bed.

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel which is an excellent location, very nice staff and very secure for covid, located within a few minutes walk from termini with also good bus and underground connections .

We chose this hotel for special occasion and couldn't do better. Hotel staff is amazing and they will help you with every possible request. Even in covid times breakfast is great and tasty. It's served with a lot of choices and you receive anything you want. Coffee is excellent (one of the best in Rome). Hotel is super clean and we felt save (covid). Hotel is part of the history, but super maintained and it almost felt like in a museum (lot of beautiful pictures). Lift is historical and we enjoy every ride. You could feel that owners care a lot. We really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.

I arranged to stay at Hotel Canada in June 2020 following a recommendation from a friend. As a result of the pandemic our flights were cancelled and we couldn't go so this is not a review of the hotel per se. It is a review about the compassionate, professional and responsible way this hotel has dealt with my request for a refund/hotel credit. Even though I booked a non-refundable room, I requested a refund when Qantas cancelled our flights to Italy due to Covid-19. The Hotel promptly replied and said I could have a credit or a refund. Initially I accepted a credit because I hoped the pandemic would resolve quickly but when it became apparent that the credit would expire before I could travel (as Australia is predicting international tourism will not return to normal until 2023), I wrote again & viola by the next morning I received a very courteous email saying that a refund was on its way. Wow! What a contrast to a hotel in Florence who were very rude in their response and said they would not consider a refund until December 2020 as the hotel is allegedly closed until then. I very much hope to stay at Hotel Canada one day...praying for a vaccine

Just returned from a weekend break. Fabulous hotel near train station and good base for sightseeing. Great customer service, all staff were so friendly and helpful. Rooms were spotless with all the things you need for a break, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, vanity pack, toothbrush/paste and slippers. Huge bed and traditional furnishings. Tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely continental breakfast for €6, cater well for gluten free options and offer soya milk. Nice hotel bar for a drink after a long day sightseeing, very reasonable prices with crisps, biscuits and olives set out late afternoon. Would definitely plan a return visit.

Within blocks of the Main Rome Termini Train Station and one block from subway station (Castro Pretorio). Rooms give you the flavor of Rome. Old style counter weight elevator.Great morning breakfast and $2 euro beers at the bar. Friendly and helpful staff. Spent 2 nights and enjoyed every minute. Reasonably priced.

I stayed here for 3 nights (the first with my mother, the last two with my partner) and we all found the hotel to be incredible. The staff are friendly and professional, the hotel room was beautiful and spacious, and the location is close enough to the train station to be convenient walking but not close enough to be overrun with tourist scam/sketchy people. There are several good restaurants nearby and a metro stop within <5 minutes walking. When I come back to Rome, I plan on staying at Hotel Canada again.

The hotel is great, so clean, the location is perfect, the staff - remarkable. Top quality, highly recommended. So sad that hotel Canada is only in Rome. The architecture of the building is fascinating. Will be back one day for sure.

Location is perfect, close to the train station, and convenient from the airport. It is a short 5-7 minute walk to the hotel from the train station. Large breakfast with many options available for all types of preferences. Includes hot items and local seasonal items which was a nice surprise. We checked out early on the last day and they even offered to bring up some fruit and toast the night before so we would have something to eat before we left at 6:30am. The staff definitely goes above and beyond to give great service. Many family restaurants are nearby. We tried several just a block away and were not disappointed. The pasta was fresh and specials contained current local ingredients like artichokes. The bar at the hotel was reasonably priced and offered an after dinner area to relax. I will definitely stay at this hotel the next time in Rome!

We had a wonderful 7 night stay at the Hotel Canada. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable. The location is great, and so is the food. High quality breakfast buffet and restaurant. The staff is fantastic and you really do feel you are being looked after on a personal level. A special thanks to Arber who gave us so many tips to make our stay so wonderful. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely stay at the Hotel Canada again.

Like all good hotels it is the service provided by the staff that really matters and at the Canada the staff were amazing. Friendly and attentive, with nothing being too much trouble. The reviews on trip advisor were spot on. We had a fabulous 4 night stay. We had to ask the front desk for shampoo as it wasn't stocked up daily. Only one key per room so not great if kids wanted to go to bed early. Air Con didn't seem to work so the room was quite warm We would thoroughly recommend the Hotel Canada. And when in Rome next we hope to stay here again.

Exited the train at the termini and walked to hotel carting all the luggage. The streets leading to hotel are laden with graffiti but absolutely no issues / concerns and we walked them many times at late night hours. Everyone very friendly. Hotel Canada staff were very welcoming and we settled into our vary spacious and comfortable room (coming from Paris hotels - this was a treat). In room safe spacious enough for laptop/ only ‘down' was mattress was a little sagging to the middle. Great breakfast and staff working that area. The lobby bar was great spot to have a drink - pricing cheap! Especially after walking all over Rome! You leave key when head out and there will be staff there to provide key when arrive back. Walked to coliseum/ Trevi and all those locations in reasonable time - took metro from train station to Vatican/ no hassles. Room was facing busy roadway yet the windows very sound proof. Was construction going on either above, or beside the room, but they did not start overly early. The elevator is small but very much working and added nice ambiance

This hotel was so cute. It was very close to the Termini train station to get from the airport (10 min walk). The staff was nice. I was able to get a room with a bathtub. They had fantastic bathroom products. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was nice. It also had a working lift. They had already turned the AC off in the hotel. They brought me a fan and the room was perfect.

Ths hotel is a cute boutique hotel in a Great location of Rome to see the sites. It is a good price and room was small but clean. Staff were very friendly. We only stayed two nights before driving down to Sorrento.

My Mum was with us and will be 90 next month. I have stayed here frequently since 1998. I have now been coming to Rome regularly for 50 years- I had my 13 th birthday in the city. I cannot think I would stay elsewhere in this ancient city. The staff were as welcoming and hospitable as ever- this was probably my 10th stay over the years . As to the regrettable recent review from Joanne W, I can only assume she would prefer to stay in one of those anonymous sterile concrete towers in cities with almost 2000 years less history that have large spacious noiseless elevators that whisk you to floor zilch in seconds. Get a life. This is a super friendly very efficient hotel within buckets of character of which the antique lift is just a part. Rome is not a cheap city but this hotel provides excellent value for money in a safe location in what is a less noisy city than the one I first visited all those years ago. Breakfast is €6 and I challenge anyone to find a better spread in town for the price. Don't blame the hotel for the €4 per person per night city tax. This ransom is not of their doing. As for me I know, given my choice, where I will be staying when I am next in town.

The hotel is a beautifully maintained older building, the rooms clean and well appointed, the staff is incredibly helpful and competent, and the breakfast buffet was a work of art as well as being delicious.

Get yourself to Rome Fiumincino, don't bother with a taxi. Buy Leonardo tickets from Trenitalia ( easy online) and in 30 minutes you will be in Rome Termini. Take a right and leave the station. In front of you is a church, at the side is Via Vicenza. Five minutes walk brings you to the Hotel Canada. The staff are all great, the rooms are big, comfortable beds , very varied breakfast menu (6€ ...a bargain) , the bar is cheap for a city centre hotel and the surrounding area has loads of restaurants. The ‘hop on hop off ‘ buses run from the bottom of the road and it's close to a metro station. I can't recommend this hotel enough. They ensured that we had a really enjoyable few days in a Rome and we would love to come back.

We were happy with our choice and chose a hotel close to Termini as we were travelling outside of Rome on occasions. It was very convenient for this. Our room was on the small side and quite dark but had everything you would need on holiday and was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and delicious Italian pastries. The cakes on offer appeared to be home made . The staff were fine especially the gentleman at the bar, who was very kind. I am sorry, I did not note your name ! The hotel had a calm atmosphere and it was very 'homely' . I think that hotel owners strive for this and have achieved it. We would stay again although may opt for a bigger and brighter room next time.

A short walk from Roma Termini, this is a comfortable hotel where rooms are large and furnished with taste. The bathroom is very large and has everything you need. The staff is helpful. The area itself is not the most interesting in Rome but the proximity to the train station is certainly convenient (without the nuisances that you would get too close to it). The breakfast buffet is copious and a great value. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this location due to its location near the central train station. We arrived at the hotel around noon hour after overnight flight from Canada. . They were able to find a room for us straight away. The room was a little small but very functional. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean. The hotel has air of classic boutique hotel with opulent finishes and a classical elevator. The breakfast buffet will meet anyone's needs. We stayed there a second time on the same trip with the same results. We will certainly return to the hotel if we are lucky enough to be in Rome again.

The Hotel Canada has beautifully painted ceilings in each room which drew me to the hotel. The staff is friendly and accommodating, breakfast which was included in our room rate was delicious. Can't wait to return the next time we come to Rome.

Visited Hotel Canada for a 3 night short break with my daughter to celebrate her 21st birthday. The perfect place for mum and daughter. We shared a luxurious twin room with a huge shower room and view of the park. The staff were superb and very helpful especially the lovely Massimo behind the bar! His Aperol spritz was the perfect pick-me-up after a busy day sightseeing. The hotel was everything you might hope for in Rome. Very Italian, very comfortable and walking distance to Termini and several excellent restaurants. Excellent value and very much worth a visit! Would definitely recommend.

Lovely 3 night stay in a comfortable room. Breakfast buffet is a bargain at €6 with a great choice of warm and cold dishes. The bar was open until midnight with the cheapest drinks I have encountered at any decent hotel. Best of all - the staff were all kind and helpful. If we ever return to \\Rome, we will be back at the Hotel Canada.

The staff was friendly and helpful but it seemed like 4 people ran the entire place. There's one tiny elevator for the whole hotel. Very inconvenient. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The rooms are very small.

Went to Rome with a group of 11, over half of them over the age of 70. This hotel worked very well for our 4 night stay. Easy walking distance to the blue line (a block) and the Terminii (5 blocks). Plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. Friendly staff. Rooms are large for Rome, and we found the bathrooms especially large given what I'm used to for Rome. Breakfast was plentiful and a good deal at 6 Euros. Elevator was small, but pretty typical for Rome. I would strongly recommend for this price point.

This hotel shares a courtyard with many apartments (and perhaps another hotel) and unfortunately we would not stay again. For the duration of our stay there was a dog regularly outside on an apartment balcony, barking throughout the night and into the morning. Although the front desk staff was mostly friendly, there was nothing the hotel could do to help. Also, with respect to the design of the hotel, all floors are open to the old-style elevator and lobby, so all lobby and street noise echoes upwards to rooms on every floor. We check out very early tomorrow AM and it doesn't feel good to spend a lot of money on a hotel that didn't provide us with a positive experience.

Myself and girlfriend stayed here for 2 nights on the 13th of September. I had heard good things about the hotel and Rome is a mine field of hotels so went on a pals review of it and spot on. Arrived into Termini station and it's only a 5-9min walk so very easy...even with two cases. Check in was smooth and easy and very polite gent. The lift is old so not ideal for cases so the porter brought them up 5 floors...poor guy. The standard room was fine with a big double bed, desk, tv with loads of channels, the bathroom was very clean and great shower. You can walk to the Trevi fountain in about 20min. The Termini station has a great food market so pre and post vino from the hotel. The breakfast was ok....standard choices but only had this one day as then went out the next day for breakfast.

We were staying for our wedding 5th anniversary and the hotel was perfect. We were recommended by our travel agents and I'm glad we went with their recommendation. On arrival we had a prompt check in, we then were offered our luggage to be taken to our room. On the first night it happened to be our anniversary, we got a knock on the door and was greeted with a bottle of fizz and some crisps and a card. It was the very simple things that were top notch like coming to our room with the fizz rather then just leaving it in our room. Room itself was spacious, clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent an amazing selection and well worth having it was included in our price so didn't pay. But I understand it is around €6 which would be money well spent. The bar was so cheap, it was never busy but good to get a drink either before going out or when returning in the evening. Staff are very friendly and clearly enjoy what they do. If you are looking for a great base this certainly would be it. We don't tend to return to places we have visited or stayed at before, so chances of going back are slim but that wouldn't stop me recommending it to family and friends.

We stayed there again ( after 6 years) pre-cruise for 3 nights at the end of August: lovely hotel conveniently located / close to the main railway station, accommodating and organized staff , very tidy clean rooms , delicious breakfast. Will return !

We stayed at this hotel 5 or 6 years ago and were happy to return again this year. Lovely property, great location, very friendly staff, tasteful breakfast. When we are back in Rome, "Canada" will be our first choice again.

Nice traditional hotel spoilt by early morning noise from 6.30 am in the form of crashing doors that could be easily reduced by spending a little money. If you want an early start then this is the hotel for you!

Booked with British Airways Holidays, and the Hotel surpassed our expectations. We wanted a traditional look and feel Hotel, and the Hotel Canada was perfect. Charming, friendly and good value. Lovely decor, very Italian, just want we wanted. Very clean. Breakfast is a must! Only 6 Euros and worth every penny. Fresh juice, great Italian coffee and a brilliant choice of food. We had breakfast EVERY day for 5 days, and I still didn't try everything. We even had smoked salmon one day. Pastries to die for. Great start to each day. Late afternoon we always had drinks before going out for dinner. They have a nice bar and snacks available for free each day, and the drinks are VERY cheap. 2 Euros for a beer, and 2.5 Euros for a large wine! Lovely touch for the Hotel to provide small light bites. Recommendation for dinner was excellent (Bramble restaurant) only a few doors down. We were giving a free welcome drink as guests of Hotel Canada. Excellent food, slightly pricey, but worth it. Food was excellent. We went three times! Hotel is in perfect location. On the edge of city, but walkable to Termini and Big Bus tour routes. We loved this Hotel, and would definitely come back!

Great hotel, really good value for money. Immaculate and comfortable. The breakfast at 6Eu is a real treat and definitely worth having. Staff are very helpful and polite. Location is good too. 3 minutes walk to the nearest metro and 5 minutes to the main "Termini" station for all trains, all metro and buses. Definitely get a 24/48 hour travel card which you can use on all the buses too.

Our booked holiday plans got cancelled at short notice and needed 2 nights accommodation short notice. Hotel Canada was a great stay for 2 nights. Great breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Comfortable clean room with all the comforts. There is a lift so don't need to carry heavy luggage upstairs, bonus! Close to restaurants great gelato shop and a laundromat the next street over. Recommend this Hotel for a stay in Rome.

It was a super long Roman summer holiday for me and Hotel Canada was one of the two properties I stayed during this summer. I arrived very early and a gentleman at the reception greeted me politely. That was a good start. He even advised me to deposit my two luggage at the counter so that I could explore the neighbourhood, luggage-free. However, I did not have to wait too long before they informed me that my room was ready! I was touched by the staff's hospitality. My room was cozy and comfortable. The window let in much natural light and the view was impressive. There are restaurants, mini supermarkets, laundry outlets, hair salons and barber shops in the vicinity. Rome Termini is a short walk away. It is thus possible to travel from Fiumicino Int'l Airport (on train) to Rome Termini, and then walk (with your luggage) to the hotel. I made various day trips from Rome Termini and even went to Venice for a few days. When not exploring Rome, I spent much time in the room, reading, resting, and listening to music. H Canada (Rome) made me feel like I was spending time in my ‘home' in Rome. The shower room was spacious. Wifi was reliable and fast. The lobby is like a beautiful living room. I have started making my plans for my next long stay in this property. Many thanks to the lady at the reception who is always genuinely happy to greet the guests. This is my comfortable home in Rome.

Incredible Rome!!! Super hot 38-40 c for three days but the sites, buildings, history, Outstanding! Hotel is 10 min walk from train station. Took us 20 mins to walk to Trevi Fountain, 17 mins to Colosseum. We booked tours every day for the three days we visited his area. Hotel is clean, nice bar area and staff very helpfulness friendly. We will stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights from 17 to 19 August prior to our return to Hong Kong from Italy. Our room was on the fourth floor, and we had to take its vintage lift to reach our floor, which was quite a surprisingly pleasant experience for my two sons. We supposed the hotel to be built in 1962, but it was well kept and maintained, so we did not see any signs of wearing. The buffet breakfast was definitely a plus, offering a wide range of food and drinks at merely Euro 6 per person. The hotel staff were all friendly and warm, and were helpful all the time. We would recommend this hotel to tourists planning to visit Rome, and we would certainly return to this hotel when we next visit this capital city. Our only suggestion for this hotel is that perhaps the management of the hotel should consider putting in a small refrigerator in each room to let guests chill their own drinks or ice-cream.

Because I had children with me, I did not want to walk long after arriving by Train to Rome. This was close and very nice. They had a nice family sized room that slept 4 very comfortably. Great staff that helped us plan a great afternoon walking route through Rome. I'll definitely stay here again!

I have stayed here the last 4 visits to Roma. I brought two friends this last time who felt safe, appreciated the personal attention the front desk and the person attending the bar paid to us and the rooms are very clean. Everytime I come I get a warm smile and they are so very good to you! I like the rooms with the frescos on the ceiling, they were so fun. There are several places close by to get dinner - but they have a kind of happy hour with complimentary small bites. The breakfast is large and a lot of variety. We had decided to go to Bovino to see where my grandmother was from and they let us store our larger luggage for 4 days as well. We came back happy and spent three more nights there. They also arranged for a car to take us back to the airport our last night. On my fifth visit to Rome - this is where I will be staying!!!

The hotel was very quaint - not cookie cuter. It was close to the Termi Station (8 minutes walk) where our bus from the airport dropped us off for less than 7 EUR and took 45 minutes. The Express train from the airport is 14 EUR so the bus was a good deal. We had a very spacious room. We got an upgrade due to being a Best Western Diamond holder and availabilty The hotel is clean and the staff is very welcoming. The bar has nice snacks and is very reasonably priced (craft of wine for only 4 EUR - about 3 glasses). Breakfast was very good for 6 EUR. They had scrambled eggs, ham/bacon, hard boiled eggs, fruit, cold cuts, yogurt, pastries and more. It was a very good deal. It is next to the blue line Metro that can take you directly to the Colosseum or you go back to the Termi station for the red line for the Vatican. The air conditioning worked well (thank goodness as it was 95-100 degrees outside during the day).I would recommend this hotel to everyone. It is a great value. You won't be disappointed. Restaurants right down the street. We did eat at the Hotel California (other side of Termi station) and it was excellent.

Always a joy to visit this gem of a hotel on the Via Vicenza near Termini. It's an oasis amid the madness and heat of a summer in Rome. We visited in the past on honeymoon and were thrilled to return with our teenagers 17 years later. Love the breakfast too. Highly recommend.

Needed a hotel with good links to public transport, and this fitted the bill nicely. Lovely hotel, quiet and with all the amenities you could want. Really comfy bed. I audit health care facilities professionally, and I rate this 10/10 for cleanliness. Breakfast was good value and served until 10:30 for those of us on a relaxing holiday break. Only downside was no in-house restaurant for when we were tired and didn't want to search for a restaurant; however there were lots locally, and a very handy Pam Local (convenience store) round the corner where we could buy sandwiches and nibbles. My best non-hotel tip is to keep your water bottle and use the many free water spouts around Rome; definitely safe to drink and lovely and cold, saves money and plastic use!

We were very pleased with the charm, facilities, staff and location. Can walk to train station but tiring if you have luggage. We took cab from train station and only 7 euros for that convenience which Included charge for luggage. Lovely lounge with bar and appetizers in eve. Breakfast a must and a bargain for 6 euro. Our room was large by European standards and quiet. We had requested off street room but it is not a heavily traveled street. One and half block to metro. Be mindful of pickpockets at busy metro stations. Would definitely return to Hotel Canada. Shared Shuttle picked us up at front door for easy, reasonable van transfer to cruise port! Vintage caged elevator. Hotel spotless with old world charm. Comfy bed and pillows!

This hotel was a really nice way to start a trip in Italy and beyond. Spent a couple nights here getting adjusted to time and surroundings. It's right in the middle of a lot of amenities. The Metro (subway) right behind the hotel and it's an easy way to get to the Colosseum and the Forum in 10 mins, easy! The staff was helpful, professional and full of good advice! the rooms were really nice, clean, quaint. I'd stay there again another day for sure. Check it out. You won't be dissappointed.

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for 4 nights. Everything was perfect, smooth friendly check in, beautiful decor. Our room was well appointed with a four poster bed and every complimentary product you could wish for. The bar was lovely and unbelievably cheap, even added free canapes at night. Breakfast was also really good value. Location was perfect, 20 minute stroll to the centre and very quiet. Air con perfect and very quiet, hugely appreciated given the temperatures when we were there. Would definitely recommend, a total gem. Thank you.

Our extended family of six spent four nights here in June, and it was wonderful! Exceptional service from the staff, great breakfast. The rooms are beautiful. We had three- all unique and quaint, but with modern appointments. Housekeeping iwas also excellent. We would not hesitate to stay here again. The hotel is located a short walk to public transportation options, but far enough to be away from the crowded, noisy tourist areas. Highly recommended.

Hotel Canada was very quaint and rustic. It is located in a very busy area with a great window (like you see in the movies) that open up over the busy street. The room had a king bed and a sofa that was plenty big for an adult to sleep comfortably on. The room had so much character. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Location is a short walk from the central area for both tours such as the on off busses, also the high speed train terminals for places such as Florence and best of all the Roma civic buses to most major sites. Rooms are spacious, large windows, quiet and comfortable beds. Do not miss the full service breakfast that includes bacon, eggs , big assortments of fresh fruits, bakery items , cereals and juices with table service for coffee, tea or lattes. Many restaurants nearby, especially the “mom and Pop” type with delicious home style Italian cooking and very reasonable. Staff is very helpful, friendly and provide the best service one can expect. Book early. It is very popular as prices are great for Rome.

This was my second time at the Hotel Canada -- and it was even better this time around. We stayed in a Junior Suite (Rm 220) which I highly recommend as it gives you much more space as well as a beautiful bathroom. The staff at the front desk, as well as the bartender(s) at the Hotel Bar and the housekeeping staff, were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel is not right in the historic district -- but you can easily reach the district by utilizing the metro (Blue Line is right around the corner at Castro Pretorio station or an 8-10 minute walk to the Termini Rail Station. We appreciated the less crowded location of the hotel after the bustle of the city during the 1st week of July. We had a wonderful meal at Mamma Angela's which is two blocks from the hotel -- our meal was good enough that we returned for a 2nd visit while we were in Rome. Also, on the same street as Mama Angela's -- but in the opposite direction -- was a small laundromat that washed our clothing for 10 euros and it was ready in an hour and a half on the same day. Also love the Canada Bar where you can get very reasonably priced drinks and small snacks in the afternoon. Overall -- highly recommend the Hotel Canada. I hope to return again some day.

Hotel is styled in a more traditional way, but the rooms are large and the bathroom was particularly good. Staff were pleasant and the bar was incredibly good value for a hotel. Breakfast was basic but again very good value. It is quite quite far from the tourist centre although close to the main train station. Only small point was the room lighting which felt a little harsh and inflexible for the room, but really nitpicking at this point. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at Hotel Canada four nights in late May. We had a Junior Suite, it was a lovely and comfortable room and we enjoyed the extra space. There was plenty of storage throughout the suite, along with a kettle for making coffee or tea and a safe. We did not have an iron and ironing board – I don't know if that's something you can request, we did not look into it. We took advantage of the breakfast for 6 Euros per person, we found it to be an excellent value and a relaxing way to begin our day. In the evening we had a glass of wine and complimentary snacks at the lobby bar. Hotel Canada was within walking distance of the train station and a subway station. Now that we realize where it is located we'd have no trouble walking to the hotel from the train station. The one reason we won't stay at this hotel again is because of the street noise – the four days we were there the air conditioning was not on, so we had to sleep with our windows open (we also do this at home, we enjoy fresh air). The problem sleeping with windows open at Hotel Canada is all the noise: cars, trucks, buses, sirens, crowds! It did quiet down a little bit over night, but a siren going by your window wakes you up, and then the noise picks up again pretty early in the morning. When we checked into the hotel our first day, after an international flight, there was no way we could nap for a few hours since the windows had to be open and it was the middle of the day – lots of traffic noise. The front desk did provide us with a fan to get the air moving a little bit, but it did nothing to curb the street noise. We are conflicted on Hotel Canada, so many nice aspects to it – but sleep is important to us and we did not sleep well the entire time we were there, for this reason only is why we'd try another hotel the next time we are in Rome.

This hotel is very busy but has old world charm. It is one of the few hotels you can sit at the bar and have a few drinks at a reasonable price. Our room was very comfortable and roomy. We did not have breakfast included but you can pay just 6 euros if you wish, or just have a coffee at the bar. There is a fabulous restaurant called The Bramble just up the street and it is only a 10 min walk to the Roma Termini. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful hotel just blocks from Rome's biggest train and metro station. The intimate lobby was elegant and rooms were very large with old world style. The painted ceiling and four poster beds gave the rooms a special touch. Great restaurants are steps from the hotel in a very safe and comfortable neighborhood. Hotel's European breakfast and lobby bar was a great plus! The staff was very accommodating, gracious and absolutely delightful.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and cannot recommend it high enough. Great location so close to a Metro station but also walking distance from most of Rome. Beautiful looking hotel too, extremely clean and the room was great with a 4 poster bed. The staff are so helpful and friendly too. Fantastic hotel, would recommend it to anyone

Stayed for two nights in this characterful hotel - rooms are beautifully decorated with painted ceilings and walls. Comfortable furnishings too. The thing that really adds to the character is the partially-manual lift (elevator for our American friends), which requires the user to carefully open and close the doors. It's part of the original building and I hope it receives the continuing care and attention it already receives - I did wonder how often the reception staff have to run up the stairs to close the doors when somebody doesn't comply... Breakfast was a good array of items and worth getting up early for; the hotel does not have a restaurant but the reception staff have a number of local recommendations, two of which I tried and enjoyed. I had a room overlooking the main road; not the best view but far more importantly road noise was not intrusive at all. Shutters on the window kept the room cool although I'm not sure how effect the cooling would have been if the shutters had been left open. It's a 10 minute walk to the Termini train station for those arriving by train (or from the airport) and there is a Metro close by. You'll need cash for the ticket machines.

Nothing awful to say, except that one of the cleaning staff entered our room without knocking on the door. There are no internal bolts or locks on the door to prevent this happening. There are no complimentary bottles of water or mini-fridge/bar in the room. The one elevator in the hotel is tiny and doesn't always work. Guests must check their room key with the front desk every time they leave the room, which was unlike our experiences in Venice and Lake Como. If it wasn't for the good buffet breakfast, which costs extra, this hotel would be more like 2 1/2 Stars. However, the room was clean, quiet, had no insects, and was a block from the subway. Would I return? No.

We absolutely loved our stay in the junior suite at the Hotel Canada for a total of 6 nights. All of the staff here at this hotel owned and run by the Pucci family were professional and friendly. The bar and wait staff are also awesome as well. The hotel is beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very roomy. The breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious too with a great assortment of fresh and tasty food. The bar is very reasonably priced offering evening snacks and sitting area very comfortable with an assortment of books to read. Some of the best restaurants in Rome are just a few doors away. We can't say enough about this hotel but do suggest you stay here on your next trip to Rome. Just a short walk to the termini station where you will find all the transportation you need to head to all the attractions and visit the different neighborhoods in Rome. Hop on a train ride to Frascati just an hour away for great tasting food and try the Frascati wine. Thank you Hotel Canada for making our stay so very comfortable and leaving us with great memories!

Check in was a breeze and found the elevator as a step back in time, not in a bad way but it just added to the overall charm of being in Rome and looking at all the history it just seemed like a great call to have an old style elevator. The bar area was great and was surprised the price was reasonable, very comfortable setting, great room and would be happy to stay again if I'm ever there again.

We stayed for 3-nights in May 2019. The hotel in situated a short walk from the central termini train station. From the station you are actually further away from most of the sights you're probably going to want to visit. We didn't have an issue with this as we simply purchased a 2-day ticket for the hop on/off sightseeing bus which stops at the train station. This was perfect as it was hot and the bus takes you pretty much everywhere you'd want to visit. The room was very neat and tidy, with good quality furniture and a very comfy bed. Breakfast was great. Staff were very friendly and approachable. I would stay here again, but I would try to find a hotel closer to the river next time if I could.

Love this place.. staying here right now for 3 nights and this is our last night here. Service is great and the rooms make you feel like you're really in Italy. We needed an iron, it was at our room within a minute.. needed a taxi, front desk was on it right away. Close to train station and laundry mat and restaurants etc.

What a great place. We stayed May 16-19 and loved it!! Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful artwork and pieces everywhere you look. Convenient to the train station, hope on hop off bus and great restaurants. The rooms are well decorated and spotlessly clean. Nice lobby bar for evening glass of wine. A nice outside garden space, however we didn't get to use it due to the weather. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone. Oh yes, and a large breakfast buffet for only 6 Euro.Thanks to all the staff there.

We visited Italy recently and spent a couple of days in Rome on our way to other sites. The staff at Hotel Canada treated us very nicely and were very courteous. They were prompt to recommend restaurants and called taxis for our family on a timely basis. The rooms were clean and well kept. This hotel also offered the best full buffet breakfast from 7am to 10:30am for a nominal fee. It included a large spread of eggs, cold cuts, pastries, cereals, coffee, juices, and fruits. The only not so great experience was the temperature in the rooms at night. It seems we visited during the end of Spring where the weather was startling to warm up. Their policy is they won't turn on their air conditioner until after June 1 and it was quite warm at night. This made it for a couple of very hot evenings. When we requested their assistance with turning on the AC, that's when we learn about their policy. They did try to accommodate us by providing a fan; this helped somewhat but it was still a bit uncomfortable. When we opened the window, it became too noisy. Other than that, it was a fairly nice stay and I would recommend this hotel to all family and friends visiting Rome.

This Beautiful hotel feels upscale for a moderate price. Beautiful antiques, personal items provided including slippers, hidden safe, great breakfast for 6 euros. Close to metro and bus stop. Restaurants are close. About 15 minutes to coliseum.

From the moment we walked into this beautiful hotel, we were treated so very graciously by all the staff. The hotel was like being invited into someone's gorgeous Italian home to stay. The rooms were a good size, very comfortable, and windows opened out to great views of Rome. Every morning we were treated to a sumptuous buffet of delicious Italian treats, not just eggs and bacon, but breads filled with prosciutto and provolone. YUM! In the afternoon, cocktails were very reasonable and free hor d'oerves were served. We were there 3 days and the staff helped us find restaurants to go to, directions for places we wanted to go, and made our stay like visiting with family. A wide variety of restaurants and the train station are in walking distance from the hotel. We walked to flea markets and a beautiful church (La Sagrada Cuore) where we attended mass. If you stay in Rome, you have to go to the Hotel Canada.

Cute, roomy and clean. Modern bathroom. Comfortable beds. Great view on the 5th floor. Sound proof window. Did not get to try breakfast. Overall very happy with the choice! Would recommend as a good option near Termini.

Close to train station, very friendly and helpful staff (loved that they taught my 9 year old how to ask for the room key in Italian!), clean and comfortable room. Many restaurants within walking distance. Would visit again!

5-10 minute walk from the main train station. Room was beautiful- long size bed, balcony, lots of toiletries ( even toothbrush and toothpaste!). Staff were very friendly. Substantial €6 breakfast and incredibly cheap drinks with complementary nibbles on an evening. Perfect stay.

Just over a 10 minute walk from the central railway station, even pulling our luggage and then a 30 to 40 walk to all of the main tourist attractions of central Rome makes this a great location for a weekend break. The staff were all very professional friendly and helpful, the room we had was spacious and bed very comfortable, buffet breakfast was also good.

This hotel was excellent, room was a good size and very clean. The entire hotel has Italian décor, you know you're in Italy when staying there. The staff can speak english and is very professional and friendly, they really take pride in their work. The breakfast buffet has everything you would want. They also have a little bar for an evening drink after a day of enjoying the wonderful city of Rome. Location is close to the Termini train station, but still far enough from the noise. Great little restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy in the neighborhood. Beware of the taxi services to and from the airport. Radio Taxi did not follow the rules and we were taken for $20 more than what the fare should have been. We contacted Radio Taxi multiple times, but they did not respond with an explanation. This is why ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are very popular in the US, but unfortunately Italy does not allow these services yet.

Hotel 10 minuets walk from main line station/ coach station. 2 minuets walk to metro station. Staff very friendly & helpful . Hotel is clean right thou out . Rooms / bed comfortable. Breakfast is a bargain at 6 euros . Bar / court yard is nice for afternoon/ evening drinks & very reasonable priced . Free nibbles put out at 16-00 . One of the best hotels I've stayed in .

We have previously stayed at this hotel. It is not too far from Termimi and very close to a Metro station. There are a number of restaurants nearby and there is a grocery store about a block away. The lobby is bright and fresh. However, there are several steps to navigate to enter the lobby. The rooms are spacious and lovely. And the bathroom is huge - by European standards! The staff is very helpful and friendly. English is not a problem. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. As of this post, they charge 6 euros for the buffet. In a restaurant, that won't buy a coffee and roll! There is a small bar but a spacious lounge area. The bar is very reasonble - 7 euros for a bottle of wine, 2 euros for a beer. Plus they have lots of nibbles to enjoy. When we return to Rome we will most certainly stay at the Canada Hotel again.

Our group of twenty LOVED this hotel. Hotel Canada is a welcome break from chain hotels as the decor and ambience provided the feel and flavor of Italy! The staff is accommodating and the service was outstanding. The breakfast FEAST exceeded our expectations and was elegantly presented everyday ...great variety! The location is excellent as it is about five minutes walking from the Metro AND Termini rail stations. There are multiple restaurants within two minutes walking distance from the hotel. The rooms are very well appointed ...each is decorated differently ...it was fun going to each others rooms to see how they were decorated. The bathrooms are modernized and have a bidet. I am a travel agent and stay in/see a ton of hotels and resorts; this is the cleanest hotel I have ever seen. The bar and the lounge area were a great, comfy place to relax, get together and and share our adventures of our days in Italy. Every evening an apertivo was hosted with complimentary snacks. The bartenders were amazing! The piece de resistance, however, was the cage elevator! It was so glamorous ...it made me feel as if I was in an old classic Italian movie. This is "must stay" when visiting Rome. You will want to know that every time you leave the hotel you must leave your key at the front desk and ask for it upon your return.

This hotel is fantastic. Our room was great. For a triple we had 1 queen and a sofa bed. The ceiling had a painting on it, which I loved. Everything was clean. The bathroom was clean. Very comfortable. It is about a 10 minute walk to the train station. Very nice location in regards to the city. The staff is great and accommodating. The lounge/bar area has very good happy hour prices.

Our party of four (two couples of one family) were only at Hotel Canada for our last night in Italy, but were most happy to have found this place. Reception provided a warm welcome and a suggestion for a dinner location that was perfect for us. Breakfast was expansive (and more than reasonable); our room was quiet, spacious and well equipped. The lift is tiny, but, hey, it's Rome!

First ever visit to Rome -- fabulous city but incredibly busy with teeming hordes of tourists (like us) - some clearly there to admire the history and features - others there to make life as difficult as possible for the first group (well - maybe not but it seemed that way at times!!) The Hotel Canada however was the perfect place to stay - not far from the attractions of Rome with easy access to Metro/Bus routes if preferred to walking. Quiet hotel with fabulous decor in the public rooms and our bedroom was first class - a small seating area leading to a king sized bed which was very comfortable. The en-suite facilities were spotless. Breakfast was wonderful and superb value at €6 per head -- don't even bother looking elsewhere. The bar area was quiet (with one exception) with friendly helpful bar staff and again amazingly priced compared to other places -- €2 for a bottled beer -- €7 for a full sized bottle of Frascati -- my wife loved it. no need to lookk elsewhere - this hotel is perfect for a Rome visit at a very reasonable price. The one exception at the bar was amazing --- a very happy American lady (with her friends) had clearly enjoyed the well priced wine and decided to "face time" her pal back in USA. She proceeded to tell her US pal (and anyone else in a 500 metre radius) about how wonderful Italy was and in particular Rome. Her and her friends then got highly excited waxing lyrical about the guide they had on their "golf cart" tour of the city... I think he was called Roberto, was 32 years old and had the most amazing "buns" -- (I guess they missed out on breakfast....lol). They all loudly agreed that they could have..... Hmmmm....

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was huge and very comfortable. We had a good view of the city and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. Also the Metro is only a short walk from the hotel. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice. The website does say that there is a minibar but there was not one in our room but we did not really miss this but perhaps if you visit during the summer this might be useful.

Still a 4 star hotel disguised as a 3 star. Good service, Nice rooms, helpful front desk, 7 minute walk from the Termini train station, will be back. We have stayed here twice and have recommended family twice to stay here. Breakfast fine and typical European style, hot and cold items, open til 10:30. Front desk made two good recommendations of places to eat - Mamma Angela and Trattoria Leoni, both less than 5 minutes away. Pam super market is about a 5 minute walk and as of this writing was open 7 days a week but not sure how late. Front desk did a good job calling taxis for us. Wifi was excellent. So we arrived at the BW hotel Canada for a two night 3 day city break. We got the coach from the airport which dropped us at the termini (which is the main train station in Rome) I typed in the hotel name in maps to find it literally a 5 minutes walk. We arrived at the hotel and wow, the staff was so polite and helpful at check in. The room was spacious and clean and very in keeping with Rome, including the actual original lift!!! Loved it. The breakfast in a morning was fantastic, all fresh and if they don't have what you want they will certainly try to get it for you. After long days walking all over Rome we returned to the hotel and used the hotel bar.... I can honestly say it is the cheapest hotel bar I have ever been to...... don't let the cheapness of the drinks deceive you in thinking the hotel must be cheap because it's far far from it, the hotel it beautiful. We will certainly be returning to Rome and will definitely stay at the BW hotel Canada when we do. Thank you hotel Canada

This is a real gem. Really nice, old and beautiful building with great location near Termini station. The ceiling in the room had a beautiful painting. The Canadian Bar is fantastic. Finally a hotel bar that doesn't overcharge their customers. A bottle of wine for 7 euros? Yes, please! Also the bar staff with Valerio is very friendly and welcoming and we had a great time there. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed here for 3 nights for an anniversary trip. Had a deluxe room on the third floor. Room beautifully decorated. Good bathroom and amenities. Staff friendly. Breakfast good value. Hotel is a short walk from Termini - so easy access to all sites via the underground system.

We stayed at Hotel Canada two years ago at the start of a trip to Italy. When planning our trip this year, we were more than happy to come back. The location is excellent - close to Termini, so convenient for transfers. The hotel is elegant, the staff are friendly and efficient, the breakfasts are excellent. We should certainly return if planning more time in Rome.

Things I liked: The staff, especially the waiter with the glasses in the breakfast room, was really very nice. They were very accommodating and helpful when I asked about allergy-friendly bedding in advance, they printed out a ticket for us and we were able to store our luggage on site. Furthermore, the breakfast for each person costs only 6 EUR and is really worth the price: hot beverage of choice (and in big portions!) and a large selection at the buffet including fruits and joghurt. Therefore although not having booked breakfast in advance I chose to have breakfast there every day. The bathroom is quite big, well lit and very clean with lots of care products provided. I loved having a bathtub! I also liked the location as it was close to the central station. I seldom used the public transport but walked almost everything. I also liked the selection of caffeine-containing and caffeine-free tee and coffee at the room. The room was exactly as pictured. Tilefloor, bed with a baldachin and tablecloths on the nightstands. (Just a value-free comment for the hotel because that's totally taste: I'd prefer it without the tablecloths and a regular blanket in a duvet opposed to the - again, typical for Italy - comforter between sheets.) Things I didn't like: First: It's loud if you're unlucky. It's not noise from the outside, it's noise from the inside. I was awakened by someone with heels walking around in his room above me on the tile floor, which was an unpleasant experience. Similar experiences with the hallway, because the door doesn't keep the noise out of the room, so the noise level of a suitecase being dragged along the hallway is as loud as if it was in the same room. Here, too, the floor is made of tiles, anything but sound-absorbing. Second: We weren't big fans of the mattress. It's quite soft and is accordingly sagging in the middle when you're lying on it. Third: The hotel is not very environmental as it produces - unfortuntely still common in Italy - a lot of garbage: The toothbrush cup was a disposable plastic cup wrapped in plastic foil. Having all the care products in single use bottles looks nice, but it would be way less wasted resources if it were big bottles attached to the wall. In the breakfast room, many products are single portions indivdually wrapped: for example sugar, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, jam. That's unneccessary. Furthermore towels get changed every day, not only if thrown on the floor as common in other hotels.

This hotel was very reasonably priced and near Rome's terminus station so we weren't expecting anything too fancy. What a lovely surprise this hotel was. A clean, good size room, with a desk and small day bed for our son. It was beautifully furnished with nice toiletries and as our room looked over a central courtyard there was none of the normal city noise you usually get. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the 6 euro buffet was good value for money. The Canada bar was the quite possibly the cheapest place to get a drink in Rome, perfect for an aperitif or after dinner drink. It was close to metro, trains and buses and there were plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. The only negative thing I can think of to mention is the lack of drawer space in the bedroom, but we had a lovely big wardrobe and used our suitcase under the bed to put things in. I would definitely recommend Hotel Canada and when I return to Rome will definitely consider staying here again.

Was recommended by a friend to book Hotel Canada and what a find!! Ideally situated close to Rome Termini Station for the underground and buses, we found a warm welcome and a beautiful small hotel we found home for our two week stay. If you are looking for big swish and swanky this is not the place to go. It's a family run hotel with beautifully quiet reception areas, antique filled bedrooms and a lovely breakfast room. Breakfast was really nice and filled you up for a good few hours and a bargain at 6 Euros per person per day! The bar in the evening was excellent value and had free snacks to accompany your drinks which was a nice touch before going out for dinner. There are many local restaurants around the hotel and it is within easy walking distance of Via Cavour and Via Nationale; a lot of the attractions were also within comfortable walking distance of the hotel. Another 'find' was the market just off the Piazzzale Porta Pia. The staff were excellent from the start to the finish of our holiday and could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. Booking now to go back in 2020 to Hotel Canada and would definitely recommend if you want something beautiful and low key.

We booked this hotel on line after the glowing reviews here and can confirm that all the positive attributes given were true. Right from the moment we checked in, and were given all reservation information, to the rooms with their fabulous service, and the options breakfast for €6, the Canada excelled. The location is described in my DK Guide as "gritty". Do not be put off. It's great and our ten days there were sheer bliss. This represents gold stars in the hospitality stakes...

This was our 3rd time here. We stayed here in 2009 and 2013 and now in 2019, all in January. We received a great upgrade to a King suite thanks to my status with Best Western which is due to their matching policy with other hotel brands-IHG in my case where I'm a Spire Ambassador. It was our first day in Europe, and we arrived after a short train ride from the main Roman airport. (FCO) The old guy who used to smoke like a chimney has retired so it's not as smoky in the lobby as before, but the workers still tend to over smoke, especially those who are in charge of the nightly bar. The location is still perfect not too far from Termini train station and just a few steps away from the Metro. Our room had a beautifully decorated living room at the entrance with TV, desk, dresser, 2 chairs, sofa, and luggage rack. The bedroom had closet with safe but limited drawer space. The a/c cooling did not work so had to open window to reduce stuffiness. We were on 2nd floor (3rd by US/Canada) definition and could feel rumble of subway below hotel. Didn't feel this on stays in 2009 and 2013 when on higher floors. Cute elevator still great but dependent on riders closing all doors when exiting else doesn't work. They still have ashtray in room next to non smoking sign?? Bathroom had no tub, but nice rain shower with hand held device also. The lack of full door could lead to water on floor outside shower area. Both the bed and pillows were very comfortable and provided a nice sleep for the 2 nights we were there. Room was quiet noise-wise except for earthquake-like rumble previously mentioned due to subway. One of the highlights of this hotel is the cocktail lounge. 750ml bottles of wine are still 7 euro, the same as 6 years ago. We didn't have a chance to enjoy this in 2009 because of rushed 1 night stay. In 2013 we were there 3 nights! The snacks of pistachios and chips plus more are great too. We met some interesting people there including a young man from Brazil who was enjoying some away time from the wife. Breakfast was still a bit skimpy as to what we are used to at other similar type hotels. The eggs were lukewarm. There was some meat but not much. The pastries were good. The service was friendly and as efficient as possible depending on the crowd. I with they would do better with the supposedly hot foods! In conclusion, we enjoyed our stay and still think this is the best place to stay in Rome. We may try some others as well next time, but the quaintness, the friendliness of the staff, the antique decorations, and the inexpensive bar drinks make this something very special. Grazie!!

We stayed in a family room which was unexpectedly large, there was a smaller ante-chamber where one single bed was placed, with a desk and chair and a entrance area, then in the main room there was a 6 ft bed and another single, with a large wardrobe, dresser, a small table with two chairs plus two bedside cabinets. The bathroom was of a good size too, with shower inside the bath. There was a safe but no fridge, there was a kettle with coffee and tea sachets, a TV (you can change any English speaking programmes back to the original English so we watched some films on the Paramount Channel), and there were also some toiletries provided. The hotel is located 7 minutes from Termini station and there are a couple of supermarkets nearby and some good restaurants (the pizza place on the next block is great). Breakfast is 6 Euros per person which is a good price for the buffet selection, it's all you can eat. Only other extra is the Rome hotel tax of 4 Euros per person per night. We were very pleased with this hotel, good location and very clean. Room was big and staff were helpful. Only thing I would add is a fridge in the room. Next time in Rome I would definitely stay here again.

We spent 5 nights in this hotel as a family of four. We had a room with one double bed and two single beds. We were happy about a possibility to stay in one room instead of two (it's not often possible when travelling with teenagers). The room was spacious enough. The staff was nice, breakfast was great, cleaning was good too. We enjoyed also the possibility to make coffee in the room (milk wasn't aways refilled..) The location of the hotel was good: we walked everywhere, nothing was more far than 30-40 min walk away. Minuses: the toilet was wery noisy (after flushing), there was quite much noise from the corridor (cleaner's carriage, neighbours talking, the floors are hard and make echoes), we got only one key to the room and it had to be left to the reception when we went out (not used to this). Also there could be more places to hang your coat, towel, handbag etc. in the room. I have no other experience of Italian hotels so it's difficult to compare. Still, I would recommend this hotel to other families and I could easily choose this hotel again when returning to Rome.

Our travel agent recommended staying at a BW Premier property and we were thrilled with our stay. We got an excellent rate by reserving through the US site many months out. Key for us was getting a quad room with 2 twin beds for our teen son and daughter, who understandably want their own beds. Our room was great -well appointed and roomy. The breakfast was not included but was great value at 6Euro per person - and so much delicious food. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The location is near the train station so not the most high end neighborhood, but we had no issues walking on the main streets at night. The hotel is around the corner from a Metro stop that easily takes you to the center of Rome - we usually took it in the morning and walked back averaging 9-10 miles walking daily. We would stay here again or try another BW Premier property in Rome or other places in Europe.

The furnishing were old but in wonderful condition. New bathroom fixtures. Great elevator!! The staff was excellent from housekeeping to the barman with the hot afternoon snacks. Great location for the train and bus station and for the hop on and off bus. Would definitely return.

The story goes that the owner came to Canada, made lots of money, returned to Rome and through a program with Government built the hotel to its present state. He did it well Named after the country he did well in, this 72 room hotel is centrally located, just 10 minutes from Rome's main train, bus and metro station. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The lounge off the lobby is large with a bar. The rooms are comfortable and reached by an old time elevator which is worth the ride just for the experience. Breakfast is continental but bacon and eggs are on the menu. Lots of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. With the Termini just minutes away it is still good advise to take a taxi to the hotel instead of walking especially if you have heavy luggage. Taxi will cost you between 7-8 euros. As a Canadian proud to have this fine establishment named after my country.

After a comically long trip (why did we think flying Tucson to LAX to Heathrow to Fiumicino was a good idea!) we showed up here smelling like bridgetrolls and feeling like death warmed over- also, not mentally sharp. The reception was LOVELY. Professional, pleasant, helpful, and fast. The location was perfect for anyone traveling by train- an easy walk from the train station. We had booked a very basic room as we were only here for one night, and the room was gorgeous- well beyond expectations. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept really, especially for being jet lagged. The double paned windows kept out all of the street noise. The shower was perfect- tall enough for my 6'9” husband to shower comfortably, excellent water pressure, no issues with water temperature. I didn't notice the bar (which given my level of enthusiasm for a drink and a nibble is a sign of how exhausted I was) but the breakfast buffet was beyond wonderful. A screaming deal at 6€, with plenty of fruit and veg, fresh rolls and breads, lovely coffee- just great. I would stay in this hotel again in a heartbeat, and for longer. Highly recommend.

I arrived late for an overnight stop. The staff were really very courteous and helpful. The room was beautifully old fashioned but in an elegant way, but is modern at the same time with connectivity and modern lighting. What really struck me was the cleanliness. It really was remarkable. There were beautiful frescos on the ceiling and a 4 poster bed in the room that really didn't look out of place. The hotel is very close to the Termini main train station. The staff offered to hold my bags while I go out to work. Will definitely come here with the family for a weekend.

Reasonable near termini yet min crowd and noise from the trains. Hotels itself rooms amenities are plenty. Room size is great. Toilets layout abit awkward if you do not want to use the bath and opt for standing shower instead. Breakfast selection is good with hot and cold selection. Hotel staff are friendly, lift is unique and environment is clean and modern. Do note it's slightly far from most attractions .

We really enjoyed our stay, very close to metro and Termini central station , hotel is beautiful and we were well looked after by all the staff. Special mention to Massimo and Simone who made us feel at home . Front desk very friendly and professional. Highly recommended Mark Glancy

we only stayed here for one night because we were enroute to the tuscany area, but this hotel was great. the staff was gracious and really helped us a lot with directions. it's within walking distance of the roman ruins and easy to find. and all i can say about the elevator......it is nothing like you have ever seen or experienced before. there is actually a learning curve to use it--lol. very nice hotel.

Read the reviews and arrived with expectations that were exceeded. My wife and I stayed here for five nights from 6 Nov and from our arrival we knew we had chosen wisely. Only 5 mins walk to Termini which is great for travel but an oasis of tranquility to come back to. It is a beautiful hotel and we were warmly welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble and our room was lovely and comfortable. The whole hotel is classic and classy and the lift is awesome ! Characterful or what ! Breakfast was superb and great value and each evening we would enjoy a bottle of ice cold Frascati in the Canadian Bar. Special thanks to Massimo who was great. If you are staying in Rome I would highly recommend this delightful hotel...you won't go wrong.

Close to the Termini Station, and a quick subway ride to the Colosseum. We arrived post cruise around 11:30am, before check in time. They stored our luggage, no problem. Comfortably lovely and spacious lobby, which we relaxed in for an hour or so before heading off to the Colosseum. Had an amazing time at The Forum and Colosseum, followed by a delicious lunch nearby. Took the quick subway ride back to the hotel, where our luggage had been placed in our room. The room was everything you'd want for a boutique hotel. The tub/shower was a bit strange though. This was one of the nicest Premier Best Western's I've stayed at (in addition to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, Jackson Hole and Zion National Park - all unique in their own way.) There are little eateries and restaurants within walking distance. This is not particularly a "tourist" area, perhaps more business and locals, but we loved it. They have a breakfast buffet which is OUTSTANDING! Breakfast is served on their own china. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The front desk staff was amazing, including giving directions on getting around, as well as the breakfast hostess. True Professionals!!! Would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent position downtown Rome, close to main railway station Termini, city bus station and underground Line A. Quite and clean area, with easy parking. Personnel very professional, available to solve problems and very clever in proponing opportunities to visit Rome or to attend events.

We thoroughly enjoyed a recent weeklong stay. All the positive comments from other reviewers are spot-on. Rather than repeat them, a few room tips. Be aware that at least one floor (4th) is not non-smoking. Although there were ashtrays in our room, we didn't have any hint of prior guest smoking; but it might be an issue for someone who is very sensitive. Also, the rooms facing the main street, Viale Castro Pretorio, have a lot of traffic noise if the windows are even cracked open. Lastly, the shower-in-tub arrangement was somewhat awkward to use. Our party had two rooms and the one with a walk-in shower was much more convenient. Overall, the staff, lovely breakfast and bar areas and cleanliness of the entire property make this an outstanding hotel.

Hotel is a bit of a walk from the major tourist sites but it's a nice walk nonetheless. If you prefer, it's not far from Termini station but even closer to Castro Pretorio station (just around the corner, actually). It has one of the most unique elevators you'll ever see but it's intentional and offers some character. Breakfast is good and affordable. It can save you quite a bit if you don't want to eat out for every meal while in Rome; you're best to do that for dinner! Rooms are clean and a little smaller than what we'd be used to in North America but if you understand that's normal for Europe, you won't be disappointed. Staff are professional and polite. A heads up that you will have to pay a city tax per night, but I can't fault the hotel for that because “when in Rome...”

My husband and I stayed here as part of our 20th wedding anniversary holiday. Delightful hotel with excellent staff. Close to the main train station and hop on/hop off bus stop. The breakfast was delicious.

We stayed at this hotel for a 5-day period of 'rest & relaxation" following a 20-day Mediterranean cruise. The location near, yet not directly at, the train station was perfect. The soundproofed windows mostly blocked the city noise, save for the occasional police/ambulance vehicle. Our deluxe corner room with views (512) was spacious and well appointed. It had 2 windows in the sleeping are and 1 in the bathroom. The staff(everywhere) were pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. In fact, we were told: think of our hotel as your home. We so enjoyed our stay we were genuinely sad to depart. One of the great hotels in central Rome. If you reserve a standard room, take note they are small by North American standards, but, they are still good value for the price. Tip 1: Do take a taxi (10-15 euros) between the train station - hotel if you not back-packing and have luggage...it is a 10 minute walk over a narrow, uneven, cobblestone sidewalks with numerous hazards (posts, scooters, litter, potholes). Tip 2: Check with front desk regarding Bramble Restaurant...excellent dining; 3 minute walk.

One night at the end of our trip, pleasant clean and well run hotel with excellent breakfast. It felt very safe and reliable. Well maintained and impeccable condition. It was rated 3 stars but I'd give give it 3 very big and hospitable stars!

We spent 3 nights at the end of September and 3 at the begining of October. The experience was first class, the Front Desk, Bar and Breakfast Room offered wonderful service and good advise. The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. We were slightly nervous at the proximity to the main train station, but had no need to worry. Local transportation, Hop on Hop off bus, etc., were a short walk from the Hotel and very accessible.

We stayed with our two teenage daughters in a family room. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is very close to the Metro and we were able to walk to the main train station, only a couple of minutes way. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel after we checked out. We were able to relax at the hotel before our train ride to Naples. The staff was consistently pleasant. I highly recommend this hotel!

We picked this hotel largely based on the TripAdviser reviews and we were not disappointed. We had a Junior Suite and the extra sitting space was very well used by our family after long days on the tourist trail. Nothing was a problem for any of the team - booking a taxi, recommending a restaurant. Special mention goes to Arber on the front desk and his mischievous sense of humour. It was such a pleasant surprise to not feel ripped off for breakfast or for drinks at the bar, both were very reasonably priced. And the free snacks in the bar were a lovely touch and well used by our teenage boys. Location is convenient and we were able to walk to pretty much everywhere within 45 minutes apart from The Vatican which is a longer stretch away, and there is a metro stop just around the corner. Would happily stay here again.

Spent 4 nights at this hotel. Great location close to train station even though we did not use it. We walked everywhere. Lovely remodelled older hotel. Clean large room with comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful and enjoyed the convenience of breakfast in the bright sunny restaurant. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had to catch the train to Naples so we chose this hotel to position us for a convenient departure! Wow! What a darling hotel and extremely affordable! The room was huge and the bathroom was large and the toiletries were fabulous!! Comfortable beds, charming decor! Breakfast was available but not included! Cute little elevator got us to our room!! We grabbed a convenient dinner next door and slept like babies all night!! It's not super close to all the touristy sights but it's a fabulous hotel!!

Hotel staff is very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable when we arrived very early from a long flight. They got us into our room several hours early. Rooms are clean and very quaint.

We stayed just 1 night at the Hotel Canada. It's old, but recently renovated and in a centrally located area of Rome.. The staff are very professional, friendly, and willing to help with any questions about navigating in Rome. Our suite was cozy, clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided was delicious and plentiful with eggs, meats, fruits, pastries, and more. In the evenings appetizers are provided off the lobby and you can purchase a cocktail there, as well. We loved our stay at the Hotel Canada.

From the moment we arrived we were made extremely welcome, special praise goes to the front desk manager and bar manager who looked after us very well. The hotel is well situated for the train terminal with plenty of restaurants close by. We would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at BW Hotel Canada in October 2018. This is a fantastic locally runned hotel. The Pucci family provides the best customer service. We had on site personal need and every working employee went above and beyond to help us, at midnight, no less. They were always very knowledgeable and kind. Our room was spectacular. The pictures on the website do not give the rooms justice. The lenins on the beds were high quality. The beds were extremely comfortable. The air conditioning in the room worked great! We had a quad bedroom and it was very spacious. The bathrooms came with every toiletry you can think of and even toothbrushes. I highly recommend getting the breakfast. It was delicious and reasonably priced. The bar had great prices and snacks in the evening. Its location was very convenient. Multiple great restaurants on the same road as the hotel. It is a short walk to the train station and hop on hop off buses. If we visit Rome again, we will definitely be staying here. It was spectacular!

Just finishing a seven night stay at this marvelous hotel. Everyone of the staff are most welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is complete with hot and cold foods and a bargain at 6 euros. While not having a restaurant for lunch or dinner, it is well located with several good restaurants within walking distance. Try their aperitvo at the bar..buy a drink and plentiful snacks are provided. Close by is the termini train station which has a subway that links many of the Rome attractions. The subway may seem like a challenge but is actually easy to figure out. Highly recommend staying at this hotel! Tip: If requiring a taxi, have hotel summons it. Arrives within few minutes and price is right.

I booked Hotel Canada at the last minute and unfortunately they could only accommodate one night of our trip as they were booked up. I wish we could have stayed longer! We stayed in the junior suite which was lovely. The room was big and clean with high ceilings and the bathroom was even better. The hotel staff was so accommodating and friendly. We also liked that the metro stop was right around the corner and we could walk to nearby restaurants. It was definitely our best stay in Rome, would recommend to others and hope to return!

This is a very good hotel after a long day of sightseeing in Rome. Our room was spotless, large, and very quiet. AC worked very well too. About a 7 minute walk to Termini. Trevi fountain is a 30 minute walk away. BF was excellent too.

Very friendly staff, good location, great breakfast and very good atmosphere. Although at walking distance from Roma termini (and I know termini neighbourhood is not preferred by many) this hotel is tucked away at perfect distance yet close to the termini station.We had very comfortable and relaxing stay and loved returning to our hotel every evening after exploring Rome through the day. I just wished that the aircon worked a little better but I wouldnt take away a star for that! It is still 5 stars from me.

My husband and I stayed here on our last night in Europe. After a long 4 weeks of travelling this hotel was a highlight. We stayed in a deluxe room which was beautifully presented. Clean, spacious and the bathroom was well equipped with a range of toiletries. The staff we friendly and helpful. A great place to stay while in Rome.

This is a very comfortable and stylish hotel, withing easy walking distance of the rail station and a good base for catching the Hop on Hop off tour bus. Our room was traditional, scrupulously clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large with an excellent shower. It was quiet and afforded us a good night's sleep. Although we had not booked breakfast, at 6 euros a head it was excellent value for money and there was an ample selection of both hot and cold dishes. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the lounge area and bar very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and my husband and I look forward to staying here on our next trip to Rome.

We are finishing up a four day stay here and it has been the best hotel we have stayed at in Europe. The staff is amazing and very friendly and helpful. Once they found out that we were on our honeymoon they left a bottle of champagne for us. Totally unexpected. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety kept is full for most of the day. In the afternoons they set up a snack area by the bar. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Rome and we would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Canada one night each before and after our cruise - we chose our hotel based on its proximity to the Termini Station. It was great value and we enjoyed our stay. We will consider staying there again next time in Rome. Hotel Canada is a three star hotel in a converted 19th century building - so walls could be thin and its elevator is small (fit two persons with luggages). The breakfast is quite basic, mainly continental with scrabble/boiled eggs and bacon/sausages, but for E6 per person can't really complain. The coffee is not bad either. Location of the hotel is great. Without luggages we could walk to the Termini Station in 2 minutes. I would suggest using the Metro Station Castro Pretorio around the corner if you have luggages (there is elevator up and down the station). The rooms are clean and comfortably decorated. Bathroom/shower works well. The hotel provides slippers/tooth brush which is rare in the 3 Star category in Europe. We stayed in rooms one category above the basic room and we found our rooms quite big (important to us) and the rate was reasonable despite the high season. The staffs were very friendly and helpful - from the gentlemen at the front desk, to the ladies at breakfast and the cleaning staffs.

Train station is a 10 minute walk, or 1 metro stop away. Attractive hotel and rooms with style mix of old fashioned and modern. Staff friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast at 6 Euros is a good deal, nice selection of hot and cold food. Rooms are clean. Bathroom too dark for applying make-up, but the desk area is bright, so put it on there with a traveling mirror I always bring. My 1st time in Italy and I don't know if this is an Italian thing or not, but there is no box of tissues or wash clothes.

Stayed at this hotel August 21st until the 24th in triple room 3rd floor. Near Termini Station! Room is small but very clean and comfortable! Elevator small and so unique! Do not want to carry luggage up the 3 marble floors! Breakfast excellent every morning! Staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly! Want to say how much we appreciate that you have GianCarlo employed at your hotel! This means a lot that you appreciate the employment of people with special needs! Would recommend to everyone and would stay again if in Rome!

We stayed 5 nights while sightseeing in Rome. I cannot praise the staff enough. Rooms clean and comfortable. Convenient sitting area where you can get hot and cold drinks. Lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast ok though not outstanding. Not very central but near public transport and taxis are easy to find and cheap.

Clean and convenient to the main train station. Quiet neighborhood with restaurants nearby. The hotel was friendly and with European quality to it. We stayed two days before a cruise and returned back following the cruise. My daughter and I enjoyed it especially the incredible breakfast. Great value..

We've spent there 2 nights for a city break. It was very nice, clean with friendly and helpful stuff. It is just a 3 star hotel, but you don't feel that. It's better than some other 4 star hotels. The room was very nice. We were accommodated on the top floor, high enough that you don't hear the traffic from the road. Also it is very well located, a good 5-10 minutes walk (depends on how tired you are) from Roma Termini train station. Also the closest metro / tube is at 5 minutes walk. For me and my wife it was a good experience. We will return if we'll be in the area.

Great hotel with a classic European feel to it. Clean rooms that actually look like what you see in the pictures. What you see is really what you get. Warm, friendly, attentive staff ready to assist with anything you may need. Breakfast is a nominal (6Euro) charge. Good selection and convenient. Don't let the fact it isn't free turn you off. You aren't going to find breakfast buffet for 6 Euros anywhere else either. Neighborhood is fine. Termini doesn't have the strongest rep as an area to stay in, and it is a bit "urban" but it is a perfectly safe neighborhood. Walked back from Termini Station (trains to other cities/metro stop) at 11pm one night with my family. There were tons of people out and about. The street is lined with sidewalk cafes and people were sitting at the tables or walking along. Nothing unsafe or unsettling about it. Although, I'll be honest..there are more aesthetically appealing places to sit at a sidewalk cafe in Rome, so while I wouldn't necessarily choose this neighborhood as a place to hang around, I would definitely choose its for a nice hotel to come back to. There is a regular, small grocery store around the corner where you can pick up anything you need also.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Canada. We booked through Expedia. On the Expedia site it lists that the hotel has breakfast. I took that to mean breakfast was included which it was not. However the buffet breakfast was very good and only 6 euros per person and open for several hours. This hotel is not new so you have to be looking for something with that 1900 look and feel. There is one elevator which operates by manually opening and closing 2 sets of doors. It was a fun experience. There are 3 steps leading to the elevator and several leading into the hotel so it is not accessible for anyone who can't go up stairs. We had 2 rooms. Both were standards and were standard. One had a shower and one had a tub shower combination. I would advise communicating your preferences directly with the property. I had requested that connecting rooms if possible. They put us in 2 rooms on opposite sides of the 4th floor. I asked at check in if the rooms could be closer together and the response was that "they were on the same floor". This was the only time the staff was not helpful. Everyone else called taxis, gave recommendations and directions very efficiently.

We booked the Canada Hotel as part of a trip to Rome to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary, which fell right in the middle of our stay. We chose this hotel as the reviews were good, and the rooms looked so nice. Before we travelled I contacted the hotel by e-mail to mention it was a special trip and asking if we could have a nice room perhaps with a decent view just to make it even nicer. We received a reply saying they would do all possible to accommodate this. When we arrived we were really disappointed to find we had been given a room which was right at the far end of the second floor, through some fire doors and next to a room converted for the housekeeper/maintenance. In no way could it be described as a nice room, in fact I would like to bet there was not a worse one in the hotel! It was large but sparsely furnished and what was there looked a little shabby. The bed was big and looked comfortable but was far from it. On my husbands side there was quite a dip in the mattress and sleep was difficult. I don't think the room had actually been used for quite a while. There was an awful smell of drains and sewerage in the bathroom which was very overpowering, but to their credit they did send the housekeeper to sort it out, and she explained it was due to hot weather and the drains being full of rotting leaves. We didn't smell it again which was something to be thankful for. The bar area was nice and service attentive, and we did enjoy a night cap there each evening. I need to explain that we were not expecting a free upgrade to a suite or anything, just a nicely furnished room, like advertised on the website, perhaps a more recently refurbished one, however the reason for our stay was never, ever acknowledged and our anniversary came and went with no mention. Having worked in the travel industry all my working life I know how easy it is to make people feel special and want to return just by fulfilling a special request. It need only be a little card from the manager, a few chocolates or similar but it goes to show good customer service and guarantees people remember you. We have been to Rome many times as we love it so much, and we will go back again next year, BUT It will not be to the Canada Hotel.

We had three rooms for our family trip to Italy beginning in Rome. The Hotel Canada exceeded all of our expectations! Truly memorable. It doesn't feel like a 3 star hotel. Rather, it feels like a boutique hotel which impressively caters to its guest. We had our children with us and the room for four was very comfortable. It had a very comfortable double and two twins. The furnishings were classic and the bathroom was great. We did not use the TV and can't comment on the channel selection. Breakfast was ample, tasty and very satisfying. The front desk was professional, knowledgeable and helpful. The bar was indeed reasonable and every night we relaxed with our family at the bar over reasonably priced drinks talking about our day and our trip. No gym and no parking are the only downsides but again the hotel makes up for it with its facilities, reasonableness and its solid staff. Price is eminentably reasonable and I highly recommend this lovely hotel. Thank you Hotel Canada!

The room was very clean, great size for two, very quiet and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great for the price and lots of choices. There are lots of restaurants in the area to eat late at night and you are a 2 min. walk to the subway. The hotel can also call you a taxi that never took more than 4 min. to arrive. It is not right in the center of the city but nothing is more than 5-10 min. away. I enjoyed it very much and would go back every time.

My family stayed at the Hotel Canada on our last night in Rome before flying back home. This is a fairly large hotel, with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. There was no mini bar in the room but the front desk was very helpful and offered to keep my son's milk in the fridge located at the bar area. The staff also recommended a great place for dinner which was literally just blocks from the hotel. We didn't stay for breakfast as we had an early flight so can't comment on that. Overall, a very good choice while staying in Rome - especially if proximity to the Termini train station is of high importance to you.

Hotel is great central spot, 10 min walk to main train station in Rome (roma termini) The area seemed a little sketchy, but no issues the entire time we were there. We were able to catch a bus to the mall , which is about 40-60 min bus ride. Be prepared to stand. Also did hop on, hop off tour from there. Ton of restaurants near by, weirdly my favorite for breakfast was yellowsquare which is open 24 hrs. Great breakfast, great service. Loved the bramble bar and grill whichc is a could blocks away Staff was wonderful, helped is get a taxi for the ride home as we weren't leaving through the main airport. Hotel is a renovated old 1920/1930s. A little noise. Elevator can only hold one or 2 people at a time and if you don't close the doors no one can call the elevator. This only happened once in the 4 days I was there. While I have loved the hotel and convenient location the beds were hard and my back felt it after 4 days

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The beds are comfortable, the decoration is quaint and perfect for a Roman holiday. The breakfast is stunning for a hotel at this class, with white tablecloths and fresh foods made in the hotel kitchen. There was cheeses, cold cuts, salty pies, gorgeous pastry, fruits, veggies. Coffee was served to your table. Bathrooms and showers were so-so. Huge toilet seats & bidets, but impractical showers in both rooms where I stayed (maybe has to do with the age of the building). Clean rooms. Kind and very helpful staff. Conveniently located close to Termini and an ok walk from most sights. What bothers me about this hotel is the noise. The hotel is almost built like a courtyard with a big staircase and an elevator in the middle. The noise from the staircase echoes throughout the hotel, in particular if you are close to the stairs & elevator. There are doors between the stairs & elevators and the corridors with the rooms, but they do not keep all the noise out. In addition, there is a slam when the door is closed. Walls are thin and noise passes through from other rooms & the corridors. The corridors and rooms have tile floors and the doors have big A/C vents, so whenever someone walks by your room in the corridor you'll hear a clickety clack. There is something very classy, elegant and old school about this hotel and it's a gem for a three-star hotel. Im sad about the noise, it would be a four star stay otherwise.

Nice cosy hotel in a very convenient position close to Termini station and to the underground (Castro Pretorio and Termini). Old style very nice furniture in the rooms. Very kind and highly professional staff. Very good breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay here and had a very comfortable room for my son, husband and I. Room and bath were in good shape and common areas were very nice. Air conditioning worked very well (important to us Floridians, lol). It's not in the center of it all, but it's a short walk to the central train and bus station and it worked well for us. Breakfast was a good option and there are other cafes in the area as well. Great staff - very knowledgeable and professional.

We stayed here in 2015 and were so happy with it, we decided to stay again this trip. We were not disappointed. The location is fantastic, the rooms are nice and a good size, the breakfast is lovely, the lounge for an evening drink, also lovely, the staff very helpful and friendly and it is clean, clean, clean. I would not be able to come up with one negative comment no matter how much I thought about it. I love this hotel and will use it for any future trips. We would highly recommend.

If you are traveling by train, this hotel is an excellent choice. It is very clean and spacious for a Rome hotel. Breakfast was filling and worth the 6 euros each. My husband and I walked to many locations or just hopped the metro at the main termini just 6 blocks away. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.The bar service in the lobby was excellent and very reasonable if your too tired to head out after touring all day.

Loved our stay here in July 2018. The front desk staff was wonderful and our corner room was beautiful and clean. We would relax every every evening in the bar and were well taken care of by this staff. Would recommend to everyone. Great location within walking distance of the Termini station. Well suited to take care of tourists!!

Stayed here from 6-26-2018 to 6-29-2018. What a great hotel to stay in while in Rome.The room was very nice and clean. The people at the front desk were great. The lady on days, wish i could remember her name,went above and beyond. She was so very helpful with anything we ask her. The hotel is about a 10 min walk from the Roma termini train station and a great location.Several very good places to eat very close. Had an outstanding breakfast for 6 euro's per person. We would stay here anytime in Rome.

We stayed 25th to 29th June. Great location to Termini train station. A short walk with cases, roads and side walks in poor condition but doable. Staff are all friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. A shout out to Arber and Massimo. Rooms immaculate and good bathroom facilities ,including toiletries. Breakfast was very good at 6 euros per person. Pastries, breads, meat, cheese and eggs, bacon. Something to suit everyone. It was a fantastic hotel to return to at the end of a busy sightseeing day as the bar area was welcoming, drinks reasonable and great warm service from the lovely Massimo. We had dinner in the Brambles restuarant, just 2 minutes up the road which was very good. Thank you Hotel Canada for a very enjoyable stay. We would definately recommend and also return to your beautiful hotel.

Rooms are very clean, extremely comfortable and amenities are very good. I was grateful that the AC worked perfectly during our sweltering vacation in Rome.The rooms are on the small side, but they were cleverly designed and my husband and I had plenty of space over our 4-day trip. It seems dark when you walk in, but the windows and shutters open easily and fill the room with light. Lean out the window to look for the metal braces that keep the shutters open. The hotel is very attentive to details, and the staff at the front desk were all extremely friendly and helpful. And, breakfast, is fabulous! They charge 6 euros per person, but its more than worth it. Lots of real food, not just sugar and cereal, which keeps you fortified for your forays into the city. Its a 2 minute walk to the Castro Pretoria subway and, also close to bus routes. I would definitely return to this hotel!

Air conditioning, bathrooms, were good, good sized rooms, breakfast was good. Close to both Castro Pretorio and Roma termini train stations. Both are in walkable distance. There are quite a few trattorias, ristorantes, Pizzeria Del Secolo for a quick bite. Trattoria Pizzeria La Tavernetta is a casual, but, good eatery. About 10 to 15 euros for a taxi ride to Roma Termini or Trevi fountain. About 45 minutes and 60 euros for a mini van ride to FCO. They will store luggage if you are coming back.

Room was large with separate sitting room. Service was fantastic. Breakfast was excellent and very cheap. Close proximity to restaurants and train station. If I return to Rome, I will definitely stay here again

Stayed 3 nights and can recommend hotel. Staff were excellent and while room was small it was adequate. Foyer area and outside garden allowed you to enjoy a drink after returning from a day sightseeing in Rome. I would definitely stay here again.

We have been staying at Hotel Canada for many years. While it is not our first location choice for sightseeing in Rome, it is absolutely our first choice if we are travelling by train and need to get to and from Termini station easily. It is a ten minute walk along level, if uneven, streets and can be done pulling your bags. The hotel itself is very clean, with friendly staff and an old fashioned level of comfort. It's furnished with traditional Italian furniture, a sort of antique looking style with lots of drapery that some people might not like but which we enjoy. The rooms are generous, especially the corner ones, and the beds comfortable. It's air conditioned and extremely quiet. The wifi is fast, the water hot and the showers quite good. Breakfast was relatively inexpensive but not terribly interesting, so we got a coffee and pastry elsewhere. There's also a reasonably comfortable bar for those who feel like it. It is also just around the corner from the metro, which is very useful for sights like the coliseum and the Spanish Steps. Tickets are bought at automatic machines at the station and trains are frequent. You can walk fifteen minutes to Via Nazionale and a taxi across to Trastevere cost us about 20 euros. The number 64 bus goes from Termini into the centre of the city as well. The area around the station looks unsavoury but it is filled with people and we didn't feel uncomfortable walking around there. We've stayed at Hotel Canada perhaps four or five times in the last ten years and recommend it to friends.

The hotel is average in almost everything. Location not bad. The hotel has a classic look and feel which is not my taste that much, for me it was the old fashioned kind of classic. Room sizes ok, delux room spacious & comfortable worth the extra cost especially if you are having a lot of luggage. Receptionists mostly looked tired and relentless except for a couple of them including a guy named Arber who I found to be the nicest. I had a hard time with their elevator, it is a small old elevator that you have to close its two doors behind in order of it to work and sometimes I have to wait for it for about 5 minutes to arrive. Overall it's an average hotel, I think if I've searched more, I would have found a better hotel for the same money.

Amazing Historic Hotel. Spent three night there post cruise. Easy access to all tourist hot spots, bus station, metro stop all close by. We had got a Hop On Hop Off bus pass worked great. Rooms very impressive we'll appointed, bed was comfortable, bathroom and shower and it's toiletries including sleepers and tooth brushes with paste added to the finishing touches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Premier, Hotel Canada owned by the Pucci Family. From the moment you arrive the amazing staff greet you with a warm welcoming ambiance. Our room was a step back in time of pure elegance, it exudes historical opulence. One of the best sleeps we had on our trip. The bathroom was well appointed and contained a selection of shower gels, shampoo, body washes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and a hairdryer. There was even a pair of slippers! Breakfast was not only very reasonable, excellent quality “continental breakfast” highly recommend it. The other plus was the location close to the Termini station. Lots of good local restaurants are within close walking distance. Front desk staff made excellent recommendations for restaurants. This hotel was easy access by train or taxi to Trevi fountain, Colosseum etc We would rate this boutique hotel a 4.5 stars, we will back to stay very soon

This was a lovely hotel with great staff and service. It is listed as 3 star but we feel it deserves a higher rating. Our room 526 was on the 5th Floor which was maintained to a very high standard, (special thanks to Elisa). The breakfast was plentiful with a good selection of food stuffs. The overall cleanliness and upkeep was top rate and the reception staff were very helpful. In summary we had a great stay and would not hesitate to highly recommend this hotel to any prospective visitor to Rome. Many thanks, Tom & Elaine

The hotel staff were unwelcoming on our arrival around 10.45pm, not friendly staff, no offer of helping with luggage into the hotel or to the rooms. They didn't make any friendly conversation ie, asking how our journey was etc or offering advice on Rome or anything at all. We wanted a night cap so dumped our luggage in our rooms, this is when we felt happier. Both of our rooms were very big and very very clean. The room facilities were fabulous, especially the free toiletries. Excellent TV which you could change the language and a hifi system too. Probably one of the best hotel rooms we've stayed in especially in Italy. The bar prices are very cheap and the lift is a great feature being the original one. Finally the breakfast is fantastic, again one of the best continental breakfast we've had, we were totally stuffed and never needed to buy lunch each day. A great choice of food and lovely staff in the breakfast room. The breakfast room itself is beautiful and again very clean. Also it was fully stocked right until 10.30. Highly recommend the bar/restaurant next to the hotel with the fabulous waiter Muhammad and delicious bruschetta and cheap Prosecco.

This is a BW premier hotel. A family-run old but charming hotel located close to the "good side" of the Termini station (about 5-7 min walk). Very clean and well-maintained hotel with an antique lift. Friendly service and very good breakfast. Plenty of eateries nearby as well as close to a couple of supermarkets. Easy to reach many touristy destinations by the metro station which is about 2-3 min walk away. I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Clean room, good and warm staff, reat location. This is a business trip and I am really happy to search on TripAdvisor and find this hotel. I was out of my head to book the wrong dates but staff gives me great help to change the reservation and give me a room. 5 stars!

I did a lot of research before selecting this hotel in Rome. I knew a wanted to be close to the Termini station since we were here only two days and needed to catch the train to Firennza. The hotel and staff were amazing. A special shout out to Arber (AKA Michael that was nicknamed by the guests during our stay). I loved this place and all the people that we met during our stay. It felt just like home and allowed us to explore Rome. The metro all day pass is an adventure all it's own, and so worth it. The restaurant suggestions we received to go to the Bramble Bar and Trattoria Leoni D'Abruzzo were so good. I wanted to thank all the staff we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if and when we come back to Rome will stay here.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We arrived early in the day and was given access to our non-smoking room before 10am. We had a triple room and it was just perfect. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. I like the decor, which is rather quaint. The elevator is a throwback to yesteryears and is charming. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet for 6 Euros per person. It was quite a spread of bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, fruits, quiche, drinks, toast and other selections. My minor quip is that the shower needs a little getting used to. The space is quite small and becomes a challenge to big persons. There is also no ice machine but the bar downstairs is more than happy to provide you with a bucket of ice should you ask. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk to the Termini station and the main reason we chose it. This is where the Metro also stops while the hop off/ hop on bus stop is nearby. There are also more than a handful of restaurants that are within three blocks of the hotel. Inside the train station, one will find a variety of clothing and food stores. Overall, it's a very nice hotel in a great location.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful, especially the service. We had a junior suite and a triple. The bathroom in the junior suite was huge! Every request was met with a smile. Very close to the Metro station which made getting to the bigger sites very easy. We would definitely stay there again!

Loved this hotel for the location. Close to the termini train station (about a 10 min walk) and a 3/4 minutes walk to the metro station. Well within walking distance to many places to eat and enjoy the night life. The staff were lovely and always helpful. It's a typical for a European hotel. The room was small but comfy and very clean. Decorated with a moral on the ceiling :-) Pros: Location Friendly Staff Price Clean Rooms Helpfulness on all things asked Breakfast was reasonable priced and good Comfy beds Cons: They ask for you to leave the room key when you leave for the day. That was odd to me as they really never did ask for ID when picking it back up. That being said -we had no issues whatsoever. Just odd to me. This hotel is a lovely Gem in Italy. I would stay again. It truly was a nice and quiet hotel in the perfect location.

I stayed here with my wife and children - everything about the hotel was top class. All staff professional and friendly. Rooms clean and well maintained. Ideally located for termini and tubes. I have no gripes at all and will be coming back for 6 nations.

This was the first hotel stop on our trip to Italy. It was a short walk from the Termini train station, which was great because we got the train from the airport directly there. Our room was booked as "run of the house", but I felt was excellent value for the money. There was a fresco on the ceiling, and the bed was a kingsize and incredibly comfortable. I loved the little elevator, and just the whole feel of this great boutique "Best Western". My bags were lost until the last evening by the airline, and I think the reception staff were really thrilled to tell me they had finally arrived. I found the staff helpful and professional. The breakfast room was fantastic. For six euros, We had the best breakfasts, service and surroundings. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The Metro is literally around the corner, and within a few stops was at the colosseum, Vatican City, and all the major sites. This is definitely a great place to launch your Italian vacation from, with good little restaurants and shops nearby.

Traveling through and wanted a decent place convenient to Termini Station. What a lovely hotel! Charming spacious rooms with interesting decor. Staff is very helpful and pleasant--would happily stay here again if I wanted/needed to be in this area in Rome. Truly an unexpected gem!

We stayed here for 4 nights. Ideal location near to the termini. Room was comfortable but not sure I'd describe it as de luxe. Breakfast buffet was good though gluten free selection not great. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Would I stay here again? Yes I would as it was a great base for walking through the streets of Rome, plenty of local places to eat. The Brambles was our favourite but others have said that they received offers from the hotel to eat there, this wasn't our experience. Lift was a bit small and antiquated which although added to the hotel charm wasn't very practical!

This hotel still has its charm from yesteryear (smallish rooms with antique furniture) but have upgraded the common areas! A/C works great! The breakfast here was wonderful and well-priced! The location to Termini and the Castro Pretoria Metro station is perfect! They keep the front of the hotel clean and trash-free while the rest of the neighborhood is not so vigilant but don't be put off by that - the hotel is great and there are plenty of good restaurants (try Bramble) nearby!We stored our big bags here while taking a jaunt to Venice, then came back for a couple more nights! They couldn't have been more accommodating!

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and were happy to find it has only improved. Excellent location on a quiet street, walking distance to the Termini rail station and access to the Metro. The bar is a welcome location for a quiet drink after exhausting days of sightseeing.

Great location - walking distance to Rome Termini and one other Metro station. Easy to get around. The front desk staff spoke very good English, which made things very easy for us! Rooms are tiny, but that is to be expected for Rome. We felt pretty lucky to get a one-person bathtub. Lovely bathroom ammenties were provided as well. My only real quibbles are: 1. The elevator was a nightmare. We waited for a good five minutes before lugging our luggage down four flights of stairs. 2. We asked for a restaurant recommendation for the best pizza in Rome and they simply sent us to the place down the street where they appear to get kickbacks (we were given a voucher). It was an ok place to eat, but we would have preferred genuine advice. Anyway, I would stay here again. I think we got great value for our money. In case you are wondering, it is 14 euro for an express train from the airport or 48 euro flat rate for a taxi.

This gorgeous hotel is a peaceful sanctuary after long days walking the streets - staff are great, lovely bar area to sit and take a load off and a breakfast room with lots of variety - comfy room and bathroom with a full bath - couldn't ask for more - highly recommend this hotel.

Very comfortable hotel in great position for exploring Rome. Rooms very comfortable and bar area relaxing and friendly. Breakfast good, no evening meals but plenty of choices in very near proximity. If I visit Rome again I will stay here again because of comfort, situation and friendly helpful staff.

Each room is different; our ‘standard' room had fully updated plumbing, beautiful well-cared for antique furniture, high ceiling, a safe, good size flat screen TV, a desk with chair, two comfortable armchairs. Yes it's part of the Best Western hotel chain, yet bears no resemblance to any other hotel. Completely unique. Read the history on their website. LOCATION: - easy 1km walk from Roma Termini (the main rail terminal to which the airport express train brings you) - easy walk to many ancient sights, castles, basilicas, etc. SERVICES: — Breakfast is inexpensive, highly recommend it. Good quality “continental breakfast”. Tables laid out with linen. Excellent coffee. Scrambled eggs made from actual eggs, not powder. The selection of pastries is excellent. There is a variety which should satisfy every taste. Served from 7am to 10.30am. —The “Canadian Bar” serves a good variety of beverages, as well as — in late afternoon — nuts, olives, chips, small slices of cake, etc. AVAILABLE for guests' use: Umbrellas Reading glasses Books to read in the library - a variety of languages — you are invited to leave the book you brought and have finished, exchange it for one from the shelf. NOT SUITABLE: — for anyone with mobility issues. From the street to reception there are at least half a dozen stairs. Three more stairs from the main floor to the tiny elevator which holds 4 people at most, or 3 if each has only carry-on luggage and doesn't mind getting friendly.

This hotel is les than a 10 minute walk from Roma Termini, far enough away not to be disturbed by noise but close enough to the station for those contemplating travelling to other parts of Italy (which we were). We booked a deluxe twin room as we were staying 5 nights and thought the extra space would be valuable. The person at reception was friendly and helpful and the breakfast room staff were wonderful. And breakfast is great, by the way. Lots of cafes in the local area for dinner so you don't have far to wander from the hotel. The room was very comfortable. I would certainly stay here again.

I booked this hotel based on reviews, and it did not disappoint. We needed to be near Termini station, and I can't imagine a nicer, sweeter, or more beautiful place to stay in this area. It was about an 8-minute walk to the station, very quick, so no regrets about choosing another hotel a tad closer. We both LOVED so many aspects of this hotel, from the decor to the friendly service. My husband said he wanted just to roam around and look at everything: paintings, sculpture, textiles, furnishings... it was like staying in a little jewel-box. Late afternoon we relaxed in the handsome lobby bar over drinks and gratis snacks. Our lovely room 426 was gorgeous, with an elegant painted ceiling and comfy firm beds. It was very cozy and quiet. In the morning we enjoyed the generous buffet (for a reasonable price) in the lovely breakfast room. Two bonuses of staying here were easy access to the bustling Mercato Centrale food hall in the train station, filled with hungry and appreciative Italians, and also the Museo Nazionale Romana, an amazing museum of ancient Roman art. In short, this was a stellar choice near Termini, and I would return without hesitation.

this is a good quality hotel in a very good central location to access all the main tourist attractions. The shuttle busses from the Rome airports stop at the top of the road approximately 250 yards, next to the main train station. Very convenient. There are lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel has a well maintained appearance, the rooms are large and well furnished and include all the little luxuries of a good standard hotel. there is a flat screen TV, the only English programs are news but you can access a range of sport programs. There is a seperate breakfast room which serves a more than adequate buffet breakfast.

We stayed at The Hotel Canada with friends for the weekend. The hotel was well located about 10 minutes walk from the main Termini railway station (easy connection from the airport) and just a couple of minutes from the Castro Pretorio metro station. The rooms and public areas were beautifully decorated and very comfortable.The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the hotel bar and breakfast restaurant good quality and great value for money. Being away from the main city centre tourist areas meant that there weren't a huge number of restaurants around, but we found a great one just 100 metres away (The Bramble Bar - see separate review). The advantage of this was that the area wasn't overrun with tourists, but still easy to get to the attractions by metro or bus - we bought a 2-day hop-on/hop-off ticket, there was a stop at the railway station just 10 minutes away. Highly recommended, we will definitely return.

We stayed at the BW Hotel Canada in Rome for 7 nights in April 2018 for our anniversary. The staff at this property are very friendly and very customer focused. The buffet breakfast was amazing! The room was wonderful! I can't say enough good things about this property. Massimo was exceptional , he was very friendly and attentive to our wishes. All the staff were great! The lobby bar is very reasonable and a nice place to have a snack in the evening and a drink. I would highly recommend the BW Hotel Canada, its 1 block to metro and bus and three blocks to the train station. Great location.

Four star hotel disguised as a three star. Now our go-to hotel near Roma Temini. Less than a 10 minute walk to Roma Termini, less than 3 minute walk to metro station and 3 minutes to bus stop with newsstand nearby to buy bus tickets. We visited the hotel for a weekend break and stayed in a queen suit. The hotel is very clean and the staff were very welcoming. The bar was very reasonably priced, €7 for a bottle of wine! They also provided snacks at 4pm every day. Our room was very nice, very spacious and full of character, they provide all toiletries which we tried and were lovely to use! Slippers also provided too. We had breakfast twice in the hotel which was a typical continental breakfast but had a wide range of options. There are some nice restaurants in the area too. We ate at brambles which was a few door away and was really nice. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the main train station, which is how we arrived following a train from Fiumicino airport. It's quite a walk away from the Vatican and colleseum but easy to get to by metro. In fact, we actually walked most of the time (about 10 miles a day!) but weather was so lovely it didn't matter. Overall, if I ever return to rome I will return to this old school and very charming hotel!

There's a lot to like about this hotel. Our room was large! The ceiling was maybe 15' high. The bathroom fixtures, the windows and shutters, and the furniture were all really good quality. The staff were nice. The (affordable) breakfast buffet was the best. And there's a funky old elevator that runs up the middle of the staircase! When visiting be sure to walk over to the mind-blowing Basilica S Maria degli Angeli. BTW, there's nothing actually Canadian about the hotel other than the font they use.

We recently spent three nights in this hotel based on reputation and past experience with BW Premier hotels. We were not disappointed. While the hotel is older, it was very clean, with very helpful staff, great breakfast buffet and comfortable beds at a very reasonable rate.

This was my 7th stay at Hotel Canada and as always it was a great experience. Rooms are very nice, clean and spacious, wi-fi is excellent and included, TV is nice size with many English language channels, breakfast is very good with many choices and a great Cappuccino ! As always help is provided for any needs by the attentive people at Reception and I am always made to feel like family. This is my go to choice for any time I am in Roma. Grazie Mille

Stayed for four nights in March, lovely hotel, very spacious rooms and spotlessly clean. All staff were very helpful, polite and attentive. Breakfast consisted of a wide range of hot and cold items, everything you could wish for to set you up for a day of walking and sightseeing. The hotel bar was a nice place to relax in the evening with very competitive prices and also free snacks which was a nice extra. Just a few minutes walk to the train station and the tour bus bus stop. Excellent location for all of Rome's sights. I would definitely recommend staying here and we really enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I and 20 yr old son loved this hotel . We shared a room. Ample space to move around. Luxurious feel to the decor. Clean. 5 block walk from Rome main train station and 7 min walk from Metro. Friendly staff provided 10/10 restaurant recommendations. Great value for money. Breakfast is the largest we experienced in 10 days. I'd 100% return. Only downside? It is slightly off the beaten track so you need to walk everywhere. It might be a hike if you had little children or older guests.

As soon as you walk into Hotel Canada you are chilled, lovely staff, Valentina on reception very helpful, the whole hotel really clean with great rooms. This is a small personal hotel and would definitely recommend it here and would not hesitate to return. Lovely bar for pre dinner drinks, and a good spot near restaurants. Close to the termini and metro. You will not be disappointed.

Stayed for a long weekend in this beautiful hotel in Rome. Every member of staff was very welcoming and very friendly and there was one gentleman who worked in the bar and in the breakfast room who did not stop beaming (unfortunately we do not know his name) but he was just so happy! The hotel is decorated beautifully with an 'oldie worldie' lift. The room was very comfortable with a lovely, clean bathroom and toiletries provided. The traffic is quite noisy when the windows are open in the room but nothing can be heard when they are closed. There is a lovely lounge by reception with a bar and free nibbles are provided late afternoon for guests. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance. We walked to all the attractions but if this is not possible Terminii station and the Metro is close by. Recommended!

Great location, an easy walk from Roma Termini (useful for getting around the city). Room was spacious and a lot of amenities (huge bathroom, window for a nice breeze, large comfy bed) your expect in a higher-rated hotel. Very helpful staff who can help in English and half a dozen other languages. Great buffet breakfast in the lobby for €6 per person including a cafe, latte, etc. (I'm rarely one for hotel meals but this was good enough and inexpensive enough to be part of our daily routine in Rome.) A lobby bar also serves snacks and drinks at night but we were always out. We stayed in March, when it was jacket weather, so I can't vouch for the AC or how this place would fare in hotter weather, but it was everything we could have asked for in Rome.

We stayed in Hotel Canada for 3 nights. It's rooms are very well organised and comfortable in every way. All of the staff who we saw around and spoke to, were very helpful and polite, showing their dedication to their roles and to their customers. It rained some of the time we were staying there but they kindly loaned us a large umbrella, which certainly made our adventure on foot much more enjoyable. Going up in the lift was a real experience, as one travels through the centre of the stairwell in a period leather-lined car. It was lovely spending time watching the world go by in the bar area with a good selection of drinks and tasty nibbles. The Continental Breakfast was very comprehensive with a wide selection, including scrambled eggs and bacon! We will certainly be back!

Just home from our first ever visit to Rome staying 5 nights at this fabulous hotel. We could not fault one thing - the overall customer service we received was first class from everyone we came across, the staff on reception, the bar and breakfast staff to the lady who looked after our room, each and everyone of them were lovely and made our stay so enjoyable. The room we had (a corner one) was spacious, immaculate, and very comfortable with tea & coffeeTV and CD player. The bathroom with both shower and bath was a good size with various toiletries and hair dryer. We had breakfast each day which was an additional 6 euros but well worth it - very tasty and a great selection - something to suit even the fussiest of folk! We also used the bar and it too had a good selection and most definitely one of the cheapest in Rome! We absolutely loved the decor of the whole place and in particular the lift which we were told was the original. Hotel was just a short 5 - 10 min walk from the Termini where you could access the trains, metro and buses so it was really easy to get to the various sights in Rome. Plenty really good restaurants nearby - the best being Trattoria which was only a couple of doors down. We would highly recommend Hotel Canada and will most certainly stay there again when we next visit Rome.

This is an excellent family run hotel. The staff have all been very attentive, friendly and efficient. We will be back again. It is near to the main terminus allowing you to use the metro. This was a very clean and well run place and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Very nice hotel with really friendly & helpful staff. Room was very nice and breakfast was great. Big surprise was the bar prices, very cheap! Loads of restaurants nearby too - all we tried were very good. 10 mins walk to Termini and the metro so was easy to get to and from the sights. Recommended.

I really loved staying at this lovely hotel. I stayed there with a friend for 7 days. The hotel is close by to some really nice restaurants, which we really enjoyed. It was close to the metro and Termini, which took us to all the famous places. In the evening it was nice to go back 'home' and relax in a more peaceful location. It really felt like home. The staff was very helpful, nice, classy and entertaining - as they helped us learn Italian. The breakfast (not inclusive) was a little expensive, but tasty and amazing. Lovely coffee too! There was a nice bar with free, Italian snacks to enjoy durning the day. Sadly, there were some downsides. One of the staff dropped my computer bag, and my computer got badly injured. As a refund we did get free breakfast for the rest of the stay, which lighted the mood. Sadly it did not nearly cover the bill to repair my computer. The bill was 845,64 EUR - very expensive. And the hotel stay was less than 800 EUR, if I recall correctly. So this trip to Rome suddenly costed double the original amount. This sure drags the rating down, and I would like to rate one star (terrible) because of this incident. But I think I would do them unjustly, because had this not happen I would have given them a full four stars. Let's say, it was a accident handled terribly unprofessionally. During the noon, it got really hot, and so we really missed a rooftop view, to relax and bathe, as seen in other hotels. It would be lovely with chairs and a simple tub on the rooftop. Maybe this will be added in the future? Other things could be mentioned. Some good, some bad. Overall it was a ok-good stay, and I think I would stay there again. But this time I wil carry all my valuable belongings myself. ;)

Just north east of the station means it is not central - but a very easy walk/ride away from all the sights. Lovely sized rooms, substantially furnished, well appointed bathrooms. Breakfast - good value for money. The staff were outstanding and could not have been more helpful, friendly and good-humoured (managers, receptionists, cleaners, porters bar and waiting staff) Would certainly book again.

Hotel Canada is located less than a ten minute walk from the central Rome station, Termini. The metro Castro Pretorio on line 1 is a couple of minutes walk. Do not be put off by the look of the surroundings outside, the hotel facilities are excellent and the interior is also very good. The staff were friendly and welcoming. My room was spacious, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. A desk and a sofa provided. Bathroom was clean and also well equipped. Breakfast was adequate. There is an on-site bar which lays out complimentary snacks in the evening, really tasty. Really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend Hotel Canada.

We were lucky enough to spend three nights here in Feb.It is listed as a three star hotel but really should be rated higher.Our room was very nice and accessed by a quircky lift.Bar in the hotel was very nice and very reasonably priced, all the staff were multi lingual and were all very friendly.once again breakfast was excellent and good value for the price.The hotel is close to the main train terminal and metro,but we chose to ask the front desk to get us taxis,which arrived within minutes.we found taxis to the pantheon and vatican good value. We threw coins into the Trevi fountain and if we do return to Rome would hope to stay here again

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Canada Hotel in Rome for a long weekend break. The hotel was situated in a quiet street only five minutes walk from Rome's Termini railway station, which itself was only a 40 minute journey on a direct line from Rome's Fiumicino Airport. It was well placed for access to most of Rome's attractions, since metro station Castro Pretorio was also just around the corner. Despite the unassuming frontage, the hotel interior was warm and welcoming. Beyond the reception area, there was a small bar with a number of sofas and chairs and a fair-sized dining room towards the back. Check-in was simple and straighforward. When booking online, I had forgotten to specify that we wanted a quiet room, but the reception staff were quickly able to exchange the room allocated to us for a nice room on the fifth floor. A quaint lift in the centre of the building provided access to all floors. The room was a good size and of a classic design, with ensuite bathroom, table, chairs, tea making facilities and a flat screen TV, however this provided mostly Italian channels and very little English content. Free Wifi was also available. The bathroom contained a selection of shower gels, shampoo, body washes, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and a hairdryer. There was even a pair of slippers! The breakfast buffet offered a reasonable selection of cereals, hot and cold dishes, fresh juices, tea and coffee. The hot dishes were merely average, but the pastries were nice. When we first used the dining room on the Friday morning, the hotel appeared to be quiet, but it filled up substantially by the Sunday morning, although it was still possible to obtain a table. All of the reception and dining room staff were pleasant and helpful, and there were no language problems whatsoever. On our return to the hotel after our sightseeing each evening, we tended to wind down and relax in the hotel bar. This was very quiet and comfortable, the service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. After check out, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel for the remainder of the day, as we had an early evening flight. This was our second experience of Best Western, following on from an earlier visit to Copenhagen. The hotels in both venues were excellent, and we would certainly look to use Best Western again.

Lovely stay - hotel ideally located close to Termini 9 min walk and is more 4 star than 3 star. Staff very friendly and helpful and excellent bar very reasonably priced. We stayed 4 nights as part of a trip to watch Italy v England rugby. Only minor observation, the cooked breakfast needed to be a little hotter each morning. Highly recommended though

The hotel is situated between Termini and Castro Pretorio on the Metro. It is closer to Pretorio but easy to walk to from either stop. The room was very comfortable with a nice on-suite bathroom. It had a TV, small sofa, safe and a large wardrobe. The windows opened on to a small internal courtyard which meant there was no significant traffic noise. Breakfast was included and there was a huge selection to choose from: cereals, croissant, fruit, cold meat and cheese, cooked eggs, sausage, bacon. The bar in the lobby is open in the evening and the drinks are very reasonably priced. We were in Rome for the international Rugby match on Sunday but the Hotel had the other 6 Nations games on on Saturday afternoon. We had a great time and I would definitely go back.

This is the second time my husband and I have visited Rome. Unfortunately, the lovely hotel we stayed in near Termini last time had shut down, so we chose to stay at Hotel Canada this time. We did not regret it! First of all, the décor is lovely. I really like the old elevator. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for a European hotel room. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was nice and strong (very important). We love staying in this area due to how convenient it is to get around on the Metro. We've even walked from here to Spagna and it was only about 20-25 minutes away. The breakfast was excellent. It was not included in our stay but it was well worth the 6 Euros per person for an assortment of meat, eggs, cheese, veggies, fruit, bread and pastries. The staff were always lovely whenever I needed their help. The only issue we ran into was noise from a bar near by, but the staff assured me the second booking I made at this hotel for a couple of days later was in a room facing the inside courtyard. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful hotel situated about 10 minutes walk from the main railway station. Rooms are high quality and very comfortable. Breakfast is very good with a large selection. The free snacks in the afternoon were a nice touch. All of the staff were very pleasant and made a point of saying hello whenever they saw you. The bearded gentleman on reception was always was very knowledgable of the area and revommended to us some local restaurants which were great. You can walk to the main sites in around 20 mins. The airport bus picks up and drops off 10 minutes walk up the street and only cost 7 euro each. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Hotel Canada is a great place to live with spouses, children, and friends! We had a lovely view and as large bed which made the trip last in our memory! Definitely, recommend this hotel for people who are tired of hostels and apartments to rent while at the vacation. Free WiFi, delicious breakfasts, excellent and convenient location! Thanks a million to the working staff and will come back more times!

Lovely Hotel, poor location if you want to be near the majority of tourist attractions. I only encountered two staff members during my short stay at this hotel, definitely not the most pleasant of people that I met in Italy.

My family had a great stay at the Hotel Canada in Rome, Italy. Rooms were clean and they had a great buffet breakfast spread. The reception staff were also very helpful in assisting with my families travel needs.

My husband and I stayed here after Christmas for our first visit to Rome. The hotel is ideally situated for the stations, and we found a few good restaurants nearby. The hotel is family run and this is the feel we got when we stayed here. We always had a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our room was extremely comfortable with the usual amnesties and I particularly liked that you had music played in the bathroom. The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. As we were staying until New Year's Day we were disappointed not being able to dine at the hotel, although we were invited to celebrate the new year in with drinks at midnight to which unfortunately we missed. It has a breakfast room to which they served a continental breakfast with a few hot options included, which again was of a high standard. The lounge bar area is of a homely feel and drinks can be bought at what I thought was great value considering we were in Rome. All in all we had a lovely memorable and comfortable stay at this hotel and would highly recommend in every aspect. Many thanks to all the hard working staff at this hotel.

The area around Termini station is filled with hotels - most of them of low to moderate class and quality. Located 5-7 min walk from Termini and with the Metro around the corner, Hotel Canada is a perfect starting point for city excursions in Rome. A bit old fashioned in style (it is an older building from the 18th cent), it has a calm and nice ambience. Being near to, but not in the face of, the bustling streets near Termini it is nevertheless quiet. We had a fairly large room with balcony facing the inner yard. Beds are - as usual in Italy - firm (almost hard). Reception and lounge area is cosy and has a nice little bar (with very moderate prices). Breakfast average in selection and quality. Room prices fair - even low. The hotel has three official stars. In my opinion it could well be nearly four. Recommended. Especially if you need to be near to Termini.

My family stayed here on our first and last night of vacation as we flew into Rome. It was a very nice hotel and the staff was very pleasant. We stayed in a family room that included two single rooms. The decor was lovely and the ceilings had frescoes. The large bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern, We liked the "open cage" style lift.

We stayed here for 8 nights. Hotel is clean, staff is nice and friendly, rooms are incredible and charming. Buffet breakfast (6 euros) is really good, many vegetarian dishes are available. The location is great, short walk to the main train station (Termini), direct buses and trains to the airport run there. One street down from the hotel, there's a grocery store (Pam). You can take a bus to the city either at Termini station or one block away behind the hotel. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend..

We stayed here during Christmas. What a great place! The breakfast was great we enjoyed it every morning and the staff was always very nice with a big smile. At night time we had a drink at the bar and enjoyed their delicious snack. Very reasonable prices. the location is little bit out of the center but the hotel is very close to a metro stop or take a taxi. We found the taxi prices ok too. After a long day of walking in the city it was totally worth it. Couple of nice restaurants right around the corner within 2-3 minutes walking distance. One street down to the a main road you can find a small grocery shop for small purchases if you need something like beverage or snack. We will be back one day for sure.

It's a short walk from Termini with a metro stop just around the corner along with an ATM. The rooms were clean and big and the breakfast had lots of nice choices and only 6 Euro - very affordable. It's a nice choice for Rome.

We stayed here for a short break of 4 days in November and loved everything about the Hotel. Room was lovely and the breakfast well worth 6 euros. There is a nice cosy bar which is very reasonably priced and also free nibbles, very nice after a long day sightseeing. The location is great just a short walk to the main railway station where there is an express train to the airport which runs about every half hour. Near to the hotel are some nice restaurants, Brambles is very good. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel.

On tour in Rome, Italy in August 2017. Price was right. Hotel was very clean, staff was knowledgeable, spoke English and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent and well worth a few extra euros. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

After looking at many hotel options, I decided to reserve a room with Hotel Canada. By coincidence, before our trip to Rome, I was speaking to a friend who told me she and her husband stayed at this hotel previously and loved it. I can confirm that this was the right choice for my wife and me. It's in an older building which has been nicely updated. The hotel is located just 10 minutes walk east of the Termini station. The main lobby is clean and well organized. We arrived around 12:45 pm and right at 1:00 pm a room on the 3rd floor was available. It was perfect - with a small balcony overlooking the interior courtyard. The bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet and everything was in working order. The shower was the only trouble spot as hot and cold seemed to oscillate; water pressure was good and we managed just fine. The breakfast was not included but for 6 euros each, it is great value with a variety of options that changes slightly each day. Espresso and cappuccino are top notch and unlimited with breakfast. The bar has a limited assortment of beer, wine and spirits; prices are very reasonable. The staff on the front desk are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I travelled for one short city break with my wife and our 2 kids. We booked a room with 4 beds and the room was perfect for our family. A big double bed and 2 big single beds and a cosy bathroom. Breakfast was good, much better than we expected or that you can usually get in a 3 star hotel in Rome. The building is nice, with an old elevator renovated and a great lobby where there is a small bar. Here they serve some snacks each evening free of charge and you can buy some drinks at very resonable prices. I liked the atmosphere in the hotel and the good service from all the staff. The location is ok, 8-10 minutes walking from Termini Station. There are few restaurants around, also easy walking to metro station or Piazza Republica. I think is one of the best 3 star hotels in Rome.

I selected this room months in advance as our end of 15 day cruise location. When we arrived after an exhausting trip from the port, we were told that our reservation had been canceled due to non response to a text that had been sent to us aboard ship--problem was that we never received the text due to keeping our cell phones turned off onboard ship. The manager on duty did spend about 30 minutes calling to get us a room at another local hotel that wasn't as nice but guaranteeing us the same rate. I held out for us to spend our second night at Hotel Canada, but had to leave too early the next morning to get the free breakfast buffet. Lovely room, but was disappointed at the mix up which I felt was their fault.

hi, honestly i had the worst experience ever with this hotel, i stayed around 2+ weeks in it, and the stay was a night mare, 1st few days i stayed on a lower floor which is on the street side... couldnt sleep and was woken up by the building shaking due to the fact that the metro pass under it, then they moved me to a higher floor which was less noisy but the floor between the room produces sounds when someone passes with a stroller or a bag etc... and you certainly will wake up .. and today i am checking out, i asked for late check out and she said when i said 1 PM she said sorry free of charge till 12 ... i said thats the normal, so her reply was, no here at 11 !!! i will never come back .. the only good thing about this hotel is the night Receptionist, he was helpful and always smiling and trying to help

We had an awesome experience at this hotel! It is conveniently located to Roma Termini Train Station + the Metro. The room was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. The staff was unbelievably helpful and accommodating especially trying to help during a lost luggage situation caused by the airline by calling the airline on our behalf for updates numerous times. I would highly recommend this hotel without hesitation especially for the value - you can't beat it!

The hotel was not cheap adding the breakfast and tax per person but it definitely worth your attention. All the basics plus location (next to metro station and walking to train/buses stations) were really more than the 3 stars indicate. We had a pleasant stay on this hotel

What an absolutely wonderful hotel. From check in to check out we had a fantastic time. I couldn't find any negatives at all. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast which set us up for the day. In the evening before going out we enjoyed the complimentary nibbles in the relaxing bar area. The prices in the bar are unbelievably cheap for any hotel let alone a city centre Rome hotel . A big thank you to Maximus in the bar and on the last day at breakfast he looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble. He made a mean hot chocolate. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend to anybody who is considering Rome. Its a short walk to the station and all the attractions are not too far away on foot. A huge thank you to the Pucci family and all your staff for a memorable stay in the eternal city.

The location is convenient to Roma Termini. Our room was beautiful with original painting on the ceilings. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Well appointed. The staff was so helpful and made excellent restaurant recommendations. This is a great place to stay. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Selected this BW Canada due to short 5-block walk (with two small, wheeled bags) from Roma Termini train station, and also location of nearby metro station. Room, bed and bathroom quite adequate for this older hotel. Funky, 2-person, 2-bag maximum capacity "metal caged" elevator confirms age of hotel. Lovely reception and bar personnel. Found the general area trash and garbage filled and broken sidewalks - not a pretty area. Requires taxi to the generally most visited, key tourist locations. Front desk personnel do a good job arranging same as trying to grab an empty taxi from the very busy highway is impossible. No taxi stand nearby. Pricing reasonable.

An older hotel that has been fully tastefully updated. The room was large and comfortable as was the bed. The breakfast was moderately priced and was a large and delicious buffet. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was perfectly situated between 2 metro lines and surrounded by lots of reasonably priced restaurants. Termini station was a few blocks away and it was in the midst of lots of shops as well as the trains and busses.

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was an excellent hotel choice. Conveniently located, it was a short walk to the Colosseum and the train station, Roma Termini. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They made restaurant reservations, helped with transportation, recommended places to eat and drink, even recommending a place to eat (and got us a taxi!) to a place after midnight. Once, we asked for a food recommendation in a specific neighborhood, and Natasha went so far as to list places AND recommended specific dishes too! Our room was decently sized, complete with a large bathroom. Breakfast is only 6 EUR, the food is different every time, and the coffee was excellent. Definitely recommend this hotel!

I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at reviews during and after booking. A three star hotel, close to the city centre at reasonable cost. Checking in, I was amazed on the price - quality ratio. All promises were over-delivered. The hotel is really extra-ordinary value for money!! Great, friendly staff and superior, clean and big rooms with great ‘historic' atmosphere but yet with all modern comfort. All-in-all a great experience. Thanks to the family for a great stay, and looking forward to re-visit.

Not a bad hotel though the shower is terrible to control as sometimes water was too hot or too cold. Service for a friend was bad though management was quick to apologize and sent free wine. Worth staying if you like to be close to Termini.

We stayed at the Hotel Canada for 5 nights, and honestly cannot speak highly enough about our stay. The hotel was pretty nice, the rooms were cute. Mostly, the service was top, top notch. They really took care of us, and always greeted us with a smile. I liked the setup, leaving the keys at the front desk, so you don't need to worry about carrying them around. I truthfully have never written a review before, but they deserve it. They were very friendly, accommodating, gave useful information and help. 24 hour desk presence was great, as we needed to checkout at 3am for a 6am flight out. They called taxis for us, gave us recommendations for tickets and tourist spots. And the breakfast was both delicious and inexpensive. At 6 EUR per person, the buffet had a bevy of delicious options.

We stayed here 5 years ago and thought we would try again, it was very nice and check in was easy. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. We were lucky to be able to get into our room earlier, as I know that this is not always possible. The breakfast is extensive and delicious, there is something for everyone. I find no faults with this hotel, it's also close to the Termini if you're using the train.

We stayed at Hotel Canada at the end of September and again in mid October after going to Sicily. The hotel staff is friendly, personable and professional. This is an elegant and very well run hotel. The rooms are spacious and furnished beautifully. We had two different rooms with painted ceilings. This hotel is a converted palace. The breakfast is affordably priced and served buffet in a very nice room and the wait staff friendly. I enjoyed cappuccino or hot chocolate with my breakfast. Simply ask for it. The desk is only happy to recommend restaurants in the neighborhood and call you a taxi should you require it.

The hotel itself is very nice and the staff are very friendly, they all speak very good english and have good sense of humour. We have a family room which is very spacious, shame the bed is far too soft us, and we didn't sleep very well during our stay (two nights), our boy slept very well in his single bed though. The bathroom is very big, but the shower is very weak, the shower control handle sticking out too far (it looks like a kitchen sink tap handle which is very long) and in the wrong position that you have to be careful, otherwise, you might knock the handle by accident to turn the tap off or change the temperature which could be the pain in the back side to get back to the right temperature again. The breakfast was very nice and plenty to choose from! If it's not because of the bed, I would love to stay there again.

We went to Italy for our honeymoon and Rome was our first stop. For us the hotel was in a great location just a short walk from Rome Termini station so we didn't have to carry the luggage far. It also isn't too far away from the Colosseum and other attractions if you like walking to places, we visited most places on foot from the hotel. Check in was nice and simple with friendly staff who remembered us throughout our 3 night stay. Our room was fine for what we needed as we planned to be out in the city most of the day. Nicely decorated and clean with a window that fully opened out, not restricted like in the UK. The bathroom was compact but spotlessly clean and had everything you could want including a bath if you prefer it to a shower. A lack of power sockets might cause an issue for some but we managed well enough, I had to unplug the alarm clock to use one next to the bed but that would be my only issue. Really comfy bed which was welcomed after days of touring the sites. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room too which we found to be hit and miss in the rest of Italy. The bar/lounge was very reasonably priced for a hotel in a capital city and was perfect for a drink before heading out for dinner. Two large glasses of wine and a coke came to 7.50 Euro which I thought was a mistake at first! Plenty of good places to eat nearby or a little walk away (or a taxi). We had breakfast on the last day, it wasn't part of our reservation so when we went it was charged at 6 Euros per person but definitely worth it in my opinion. Great start to our honeymoon!

The room at the hotel was spacious for Europe and there was a safe in the room. There was not USB ports which was a bit of a frustration trying to keep everything charged with just my charger. Although I booked a room with twin beds the room was not set up upon arrival, however when I advised the desk staff they immediately sent 2 porters to the room to separate the beds. We stayed 6 nights and although we drank coffee from the cups in the room the cleaning staff never cleaned the cups or replace them. As with all BW hotels the beds were comfortable and the pillows were great. The breakfast served in the hotel was good. The front desk was very helpful arranging for Taxi's and they arrived promptly within 3 minutes.

Could not fault a thing at this hotel' highly recommend staying here. Staff very friendly with good English, amazing breakfast buffet, nice lounge with complimentary snacks, room well appointed even if a bit tight. Location great, just one block from Metro, we walked everywhere till tired, then just a few minutes ride home on subway.

Stayed for 3 nights in this wonderful hotel. Rooms are spacious & clean offering a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast is a must with a variety of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cooked breakfast & pastries. Most of all the staff make this hotel a pleasant stay. Their English is exceptional and they are very engaging. The bar is the cheapest we've ever experienced in a hotel & the barman was also engaging. We loved Hotel Canada & look forward to staying there on our return.

I found this hotel online and what attracted me to it was the fact it was a 10 minute walk from the Rome Termini train station. That is why the great location comment. What I didn't know until I checked in was how great this hotel is. Right from the check in the staff were extremely helpful and it was obvious they enjoyed what they do. Our rooms were larger than we thought they would be and were beautifully decorated. For anyone looking for a short term stay close to the train station or a longer term stay while visiting Rome I wouldn't hesitate in recommending staying here.

This is a budget hotel, but does not scrimp on the style. The staff is wonderful. The breakfast buffet for 6 euros is definitely worth it. The room was beautiful, and spacious. The elevator is charming, but a bit frustrating if someone does not close the doors properly rendering it useless. The location is close to the train station, and so like all areas near any train station in the world, it is a bit older, and could be unnerving for some. I did not encounter anything that I would say put my safety at risk. I would gladly book there again.

This is a good quality hotel and we enjoyed the 4 nights we spent there. Reception staff all had good English and were very helpful. The room was comfortable and very clean with plenty of soaps, shampoo and towels. The room has air conditioning although this wasn't particularly powerful. As we stayed in October, the outside temperature was about 20 degrees C, so not a problem. However, in the hot Italian summer I'm not sure the room would be as cool as we would have wanted. The opening double glazed windows were very effective at keeping out noise and this was essential as we had to have the windows closed to stop the traffic noise which started at about 6.00AM. The hotel is a shortish walk from the main railway station, but is a long way from the city centre and the main attractions, so we ended up spending more money on cabs than we planned. One disadvantage of the Rome taxi system is that you cannot hail a cab but must either hunt down one of the taxi ranks or get the hotel to book the cab. It would have been useful to have the taxi ranks listed on the free maps available. We had breakfast included and it was well worth it as there is a generous and unlimited supply of hot and cold foods. We usually took a couple of pieces of fruit to use as a lunchtime snack. There are no lunch or evening meals provided by the hotel so you have to eat out, but there are lots of restaurants close by. It's worth checking the prices on the menus posted outside the restaurants as prices vary quite a lot. However, the hotel bar does provide nibbles and the drinks prices were very cheap. 2 Euros for a beer and a bottle of white wine for 7 Euros ! All things considered we would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a short walk from the main train station in Rome - very convenient. Sadly, the area is dirty but that's the only thing that isn't excellent about it. The rooms are very spacious and extremely clean. The beds are comfortable and the pillows, linens and towels are top grade. The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. Thankfully, all the staff we ran into spoke English as well. They offer breakfast for an additional 6 euro per person which is a steal. You'd pay 3 times that at a restaurant. They have a small bar area that's quaint and offers complementary (small) snacks with your beverage. We can't say enough positive things about this hotel. Truly a gem.

This is a very good hotel , near the train station and subway. The rooms are clean and a good size. The breakfast buffet for 6 euros a person is a must if your are staying at this hotel. There is a wide variety of food . The staff is very friendly and helpful with questions. This is an old building with a a lot of charm. I would stay there again if in Rome.

Stayed here in July 2017 for a few days. Highly recommend this hotel -- good value. Near to the train station, and good central location. A superb feature is the breakfast -- you can't miss it. Rooms were well-appointed and clean, and desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Many good dinner restaurants in the vicinity. I love the old lift which has been preserved. Will stay here when I go back to Roma.

This hotel should be at least at 3 l/2 or 4 star. Good central location. Very close to the railway station and around the corner from a metro station. Easy access to and from the train station. You can walk to the station within 10 minutes with your luggage. Surrounding area is safe and quiet with many nice restaurants. The hotel itself offers very clean rooms and a great buffet breakfast for only 6 Euros. You have a bar fridge in your room so you can stock up on beer and wine if you want. It is also close to grocery stores. Rooms are not the largest but quite nice. We also had a nice balcony facing a courtyard. The staff were accommodating and very pleasant. Free snacks at the bar around 4:00 pm everyday. Great value for your money. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

A really nice hotel and very accommodating staff. Good location to restaurants and train station. It was also very reasonably price and inexpensive drinks. They put out light snacks at night on the house. Would definitely stay here again.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were eager to help and were very hospitable. I never asked why the name Canada as there were visitors there from across the globe- I like to think it is because the 'Canadian' brand is synonymous with friendly!

This was a great hotel, well priced. Never having visited Italy let alone Rome, I did not know what to expect, especially after the scary taxi ride from airport to the hotel. It is a short walk to the train station, which was appreciated when we had to go on to Venice by train. We were delighted to find out that they had a buffet breakfast for only 6 Euros and the choice was amazing. After a hectic touring day in Rome, it was so pleasant to come back to the quietness of our hotel room and then go down to the bar and enjoy a reasonably price drink and then to discover they offered complimentary appetizers. All the staff were friendly, patient and willing to help us "first timers". Our room was lovely and clean and had a balcony that opened to a a courtyard. All the needed necessities were provided, wifi, hairdryer, tv (not that we wanted to watch tv). The hotel was full of history right down to the antique elevator - which was small so we should not have brought such large heavy suitcases - first timers error. There were great small restaurants just down the street for fabulous dinners or just quick suppers. I would certainly stay there again if I were to visit Rome again.

You will not be disappointed. Only a 10 minute walk from the Roma Termini, exit northeast corner, find via Vinecnezi to your left and walk north and you will discover an absolutely elegant and friendly hotel. Family run, they clearly take their craft seriously. Each and every staff person made us feel special and their advice on restaurants and shopping were spot on. The breakfast is amazing and not to be be missed. A great way to start your day! The location is terrific and there are many great restaurants close by.

This is our second stay at this excellent hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel well kept with nice rooms that are clean and atmospheric. The location is very convenient to the Termini station without being bothered by the station. Prices are reasonable and this hotel deserves it's high ratings. It is in many ways a "boutique type hotel", without the high boutique prices.

So glad we stayed here, the staff made you feel special as a guest. You can tell this is a family run hotel. Interior of the hotel maintains all the historical features and furniture in both the rooms and public areas. Although a hold hotel it also has modern bathrooms an nice flat screen tv and free wifi. In the lovely reception and lounge you can find various newspapers, nice bar and complimentary appetizers in the afternoon. The bar prices average 2.50 euro and a great bartender . The breakfast room offers a lovely buffet that is either included or costs 6 euro depending on your rate, well worth it. Rooms have balconies that open to a courtyard, our room had two lovely French doors (room 104) that was beautiful. This was my third time in Rome and prior visits stayed in 4/5 stars, although this is a 3 star hotel, they made us feel like we were 5 stars!

Hotel Canada, BW Premier Collection is a great hotel at a decent price and only a 10 minutes walk to Termini Station. The rooms were very nice, there is an antique elevator, which was beautiful but obviously not the fastest. We took the stairs but really enjoyed the atmosphere that the elevator brought to the hotel. The bathroom was very large with an oversized bathtub. My husband is 6 foot and he had no problem soaking in the tub and stretching out. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable and there is a complimentary safe in the room. The breakfast room was a decent size and there was a large selection to chose from. We would stay again if (when) we return to Rome.

It is just close enough to Termini Train station to make it easy to reach on foot. We arrived at 8.45 in the morning to be greeted by the happiest receptionist ever. She was happy to take our luggage and offered us a coffee before we set off for our first day in Rome. When we returned in the late afternoon we went up to our beautiful deluxe room, which had a small seating area near the door, thus making the bed area distant from the corridor and therefore more likely to encourage a good night's sleep. The room was superbly furnished and very comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was also very clean and well appointed. We had not pre-booked breakfast, but gave it a try on our first morning and found it the best value, best choices and best food for breakfast ever! We had never ever considered eating grilled artichokes for breakfast, but believe me, if you are in this hotel and they are on offer, choose them! And that was just one of the many 'different' savoury choices available. We enjoyed a couple of drinks in the hotel's bar: the prices were not what we expected - often the prices are inflated in hotel bars, but this exceptional hotel has normal prices. Without exception, every member of staff we came across was cheerful and greeted all guests with a smile - what a difference this makes! The male receptionist in the afternoon recommended a couple of restaurants to us, and we took up his recommendations with excellent results. We would not hesitate to return to this family run hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and keep coming back. Not in the best part of Rome,but only a 10 min. walk to Station. Rooms only small but clean and nicely furnished. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great little bar and afternoon snacks provided. Also good buffet breakfast served in lovely room.

This is in the perfect location, a 5 minute walk from the train station, very quiet. The rooms are charming and capture the essence of Rome. Stayed here twice and would go back again. The most outstanding feature of this hotel is the staff. Warm, friendly and always pleasant. Any calls to the front desk for anything were handled in a heartbeat. The breakfast room was yet another great experience, lovely ambience, good strong coffee and a wonderful variety of fresh fruits, breads and breakfast fare.

It was our first time in Rome and we stayed here 4 nights in June. The hotel was not what we expected so we were surprised and delighted. The room was bigger than expected. The atmosphere was quaint but polite. The front desk service was efficient and helpful. The cleaning service in the room was impeccable. The breakfast was an experience in itself and nothing like most North American hotle breakfasts. The location is close to the train station and public transit, as well as a stores, such as grocery stores. My one complaint was the traffic noise which was quite bad in our room a few nights. As well, people should be aware of the elevator, which is very small and slow. It was fine for us but I could see some people being inconvenienced.

We stayed at Hotel Canada August 21-24 2017. We were there 2 years ago. It is a lovely hotel in a perfect location close to Termini Station. The breakfast buffet was again,excellent, the rooms are very comfortable, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. One staff member in particular stands out in my mind. Arbor works nights at the front desk. He is a very interesting witty, well-spoken man. We talked about having met 2 years ago, which was fun. Hotel Canada has a great atmosphere, in addition to the great location. We would not hesitate to return to this fine hotel next trip. I have little doubt we will be back to beautiful Roma in th coming years, and this will be our first Italy stay once again I am sure!

Hotel was located near the Termini Train station so I was close to everything. The breakfast buffet had everything. The staff were very pleasant. Close to a lot of good restaurants and stores. All tours start nearby. Room was very comfortable and cool. Enjoyed my stay.

I reviewed this hotel in September 2009, after several visits, and thought it was marvellous. Having stayed again for four nights, I have to say that none of the things that led me to lavish praise upon the Canada in the past has changed. It still has a good location, great service, extremely nice rooms, the best breakfast in Rome, a great bar and free snacks. But I did notice a difference. The hotel seems more elegant, the room I had (a deluxe double on the fifth floor) seemed even more luxurious, and the service from the (now) uniformed staff seemed both friendlier and more efficient. Seriously, the Canada ought to have four stars, or even four and a half, if the delight of staying there is the measure for such things.

This was my second visit to Hotel Canada. The hotel is classic and very Roman. I like that already. Everything is in good condition and very clean. We had a twin standard room which was two twin beds an armour, couch and desk. We just used it to sleep and shower. It was big enough and lots of storage space. There was just a shower in the bathroom but that suited us. Very clean. We had an inside room which opened to the garden. That was very peaceful. We had the buffet breakfast for €6 each and it was plenty for us most days we didn't need a lunch. The hotel bar is a really good deal, the bartender is so sweet and there are snacks during happy hour. We met many hotel guests at the bar which we found interesting. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from a subway station which we used all the time. The hotel staff were all welcoming and the hotel is so clean, I will be back.

I was so amazed by Fly Canada I have to go back tomorrow. Many "tourist experiences " disappoint but this epitomises Canada in such a way one feels uplifted and enriched. Don't be put off by the introduction, the experience is astounding

This hotel was such a nice experience - At first I thought my usual obsessive checking had failed me - the lobby seating is strangely tired for such a nice hotel - anyway the wonderful staff experience kicked in - they were all great - at reception and in the wee bar area - always the perfect balance of friendly but giving you your space. Our first room was lovely (deluxe) beautiful period furnishings - you feel taken back to the days of its time as an officers residence. Our shower did not work ... I hate this on holiday ... will it be OK ? Will I have to create a fuss to get it sorted? ..... not a problem !!! - dealt with .. seamless grace and all the staff that day were up to date with the situation and then the move ... I never once had to ask. Our second was just as lovely ...? Where is the blooming safe .... we searched everywhere - for those staying in 508 its concealed behind a framed print - I expected a reenactment of finding Cary Grant (To Catch a Thief) trying to steal the family emeralds - but we left those at home :) The hotel is lovely - staff are wonderful - close to transport (half hour to 40 minute walk to Trevi/Pantheon). One last thing hire an electric assist bike (you are on holiday why sweat) at the entrance to the Appian way national park - weirdly nobody for miles - totally on your own on this ancient road, tombs lining the road as they have for thousands of years an amazing experience ... But don't tell too many folk! :)

My wife, son and I stayed here for several days on our recent trip to Rome. While it is not a five star hotel, it exceeds in every category. It is ultra-clean, nice, spacious, has excellent air conditioning and wi fi (believe me, those are items we place at a premium). The property is close to the train station. What we loved most about the property was its friendly staff. The front desk basically doubled as a concierge, answering all of our questions about Rome, helping us with bookings, and suffering though our language difficulties. A special shout out to Naomi, who was the sweetest, hardest working, most patient front desk person with whom we have ever dealt. What an asset for this property. I'm not sure what they are paying her, but I am guessing they had better give her a raise before a higher end property steels her away!

Very nice hotel about 10 minutes from Termini Station. Clean room and air conditioning works well. Good breakfast served. But best part is the very helpful staff. Reasonably priced too. We were on the way to cruise port and location was convenient.

Really decent hotel - nice sized rooms. Can't say too many great things about the neighbourhood other than that it is close to the train and metro stations (Termini and Castro Pretorio). I didn't have the breakfast but it smelled great!

This hotel is very nice, staff is friendly and the breakfast was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay. You are away from the center but it's an easy metro ride to everything you want to see and much quieter than central Rome. Lots of local restaurants near by and they are better and cheaper.

I chose this hotel based on its proximity to the train station which is 10 minutes walk away (when dragging luggage). You can also get the bus from the train station to the majoriry of tourist spots. You can save alot of money by using the local buses. The historic building is great. The staff were great. They assisted with all our questions and spoke excellent English. The rooms were of a decent size, clean and very quiet. Would definitely stay here again

We picked this hotel based on TA reviews....we were not disappointed. Lovely rooms and friendly staff. Close to a few local bars/restaurants but also close to the Metro so easy to get to all the key locations in Rome (although the hotel bar is really nice with a lovely outside courtyard) All in all a perfect base for our busy weekend trip to Rome....

We were looking for a fairly inexpensive hotel for a few nights where we could recover from jet lag, use the buses and metro easily to see sites, and be well positioned near the train station for our onward travel. Hotel Canada so exceeded our expectations. Our deluxe double room was a good size, beautifully furnished with canopy bed and wardrobe, a separate room for the computer desk, and a large bathroom. Despite its central location it was silent in our room at night. The elevator was a particular pleasure. All the staff were warm and professional. A lovely start to our vacation.

From the moment we arrived at this hotel (which we found last Minute online) we were made to feel like WELCOME GUESTS. The staff was so helpful the accommodations clean and comfortable, proximity to traveling around the room simple, and food and service above all other hotels. Truly a five-star hotel!

The hotel is good. We were there in August 2017 for 3 nights. It's an old building like almost all other in Rome. Staff is good. They speak English well. Rooms are clean. It's close to metro station Castro Pretorio. One can get train and bus to all the tourist attractions. Breakfast seemed limited. But overall good experience.

This hotel is beautifully maintained, the bar and barman are lovely, the family room we had was beautifully furnished and spacious. The historic lift added to the quirky feel of the hotel. Breakfast was mostly good - though less choice on the buffet if you are later. You can walk to the station, open top bus, metro and city centre easily. There are numerous bars and restaurants under 5 mins from the hotel. We walked back to the hotel late one night and felt safe. The staff have been smiley and friendly, our daughter was welcomed. We would definitely stay here again.

We desperately needed a nice small place with good reviews very close to termini station in Rome as we needed the fast train 6:05am to Rome airport. We arrived exhausted to be met by a welcoming & smiling bell boy who took charge of our bags. The man at reception was so friendly & the entrance so lovely. (Streets all a bit grotty close to station.) A beautifully renovated "cage" lift takes you to your floor - to our amazement the room was huge with high ceilings, good big queen bed - tea/coffee making facilities- huge lovely bathroom with divine soaps etc, and good size bath! Good aircon and wonderful restaurants every few metres!! Nice quiet rooms. We left before breakfast - but only €3 p/p!! Would so highly recommend this little gem! Great value!

Having travelled from Malaysia to Rome for the first time, to attend a concert, we took an Uber from our overnight accommodation near Stadio Olimpico, and commenced a three-night stay at Hotel Canada to 'do the tourist thing' in the City. We had made our booking based upon the positive reviews here, and it certainly proved to be a great choice. We were allocated a room on the top floor of the hotel, which we reached via the historical little elevator.... With me being a larger-sized guy - and having a wife and 3 large suitcases to squeeze alongside me - this was a comical adventure in itself, and ensured that we started our stay with a smile! The room was beautifully & classically-decorated, and contained a lovely four-poster bed. In fact, all of the furniture was solid, almost antique quality - no cheap chipboard chain-hotel nonsense here! The hidden safe was pure class , straight out of an Agatha Christie novel ! The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and afforded us an undisturbed sleep. Our room was street-facing, but there was no noise disturbance at night. We heard no noise from other guests, so the soundproofing between rooms was good. The individually-controlled aircon was very effective at cooling the room. The room was spacious, with plenty of storage space for our clothes and luggage.Unfortunately there was no refrigerator provided; But there was a kettle for making hot drinks. Oddly, plastic coffee cups were provided, instead of porcelain, which seemed a little at odds with the classic décor of the room. The bathroom was large, clean and well-decorated. It had a big shower cubicle, accessible even to a larger guy like me. Water temperature and pressure were good. We opted not to take the hotel breakfast so cannot comment on this. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Termini station, and the hop/on bus stop there. There are a huge variety of cafes and restaurants nearby, a small supermarket in the next street over, and also a yummy gelato shop. This classy, comfortable, affordable classic hotel certainly gives you more bang for your buck than the majority of the overpriced properties in the city. If we ever return to Rome, we would consider staying here again.

Our 1st time on vacation to Europe was made an enjoyable experience in large part to Best Western Canada in Rome. The hotel was centrally located to restaurants , public transportation, Laundry (for those who do and extended stays) and convenient stores and local markets. The hotel we chose because of Trip Advisor was spot on. Also we used Trip Advisor for our tours. Which is the only way to be advised about Foreign Travel as far as I concerned.

Were to begin this hotel is absolutely brilliant from attentive staff and location this hotel worthy more than its star rating, the bathroom is well stocked with toiletries and even tooth brushes if you forget , it's cleanliness is fantastic and the fact you leave the key when leave is great something you can't lose when your out enjoying yourself,the air conditioning is a blessing in August , termini train and tube station are 10 minutes away thank you so much for making our holiday special

I just can't find any fault with this hotel. The hotel was spotless, the staff polite and helpful, the breakfast and bar excellent. The location was excellent, we walked to many attractions and the metro stop was just around the corner. Felt very safe in the surrounding area. A perfect holiday.

On our first stay 3 years ago we received a free upgrade, this time we were in a standard room. Both rooms were beautifully decorated, with red ceramic tile floors and very clean white bathrooms. Breakfasts were varied and plentiful. All staff were very helpful and always smiling. This hotel is not in central Rome but is only a block from a metro station and a very short walk (7 to 10 minutes) to the Termini Station where so many buses begin their routes around the city (so we always got a seat). We will stay here again!

The perfect hotel to stay in. All the sites are very walkable. Termini station is less than a 5 minute walk and can connect you to anywhere in the city. The hotel is very beautiful and authentic to Rome.

Only in Rome for one night as we were passing through to Positano the next morning, and this place was wonderful. It is near the Termini, which we appreciated lugging our suitcases there early the next morning. The wifi is free and strong. The rooms were beautifully decorated with high ceilings, giving you the feeling of lots of space. Shower was a bit small without a tub, but we didn't have any issue with that. The beds were comfortable, and any amenity you need is in the bathroom/on the desk. Staff were not the friendliest. Overall, however, this place is beautiful, clean, and has a prime location!

Very much enjoyed staying at this hotel. It has old fashioned charm and the staff were just lovely - helpful and friendly. The location was actually very good for us, a couple of blocks from the train station (walkable - even with luggage - use the side entry, not front). We walked to the Colosseum and pretty much every other attraction, but took a taxi to the Vatican. (Can highly recommend Tours of the Vatican with Tom for both Vatican and Colosseum tours). Just have good comfortable shoes! We had a family room for two adults and two teenagers. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. Old fashion furnishings, but charming non the less. Not a lot of room for luggage for 4 people, but ample cupboard space. We had a room that overlooked the front of the hotel - we experienced nil issues with noise. Small safe available and easy to use. The bathroom was large, with a bathtub/shower. A very generous supply of the usual shampoo/conditioner, body gel, cream provided, along with toothbrush, slippers etc. Hairdryer provided. No refrigerator in the room, but we didn't need one so didn't bother us. Kettle for tea/coffee provided, but obviously no fresh milk. The lift up/down is old fashioned and small. We found it quite novel and given the style of hotel enjoyed the experience. We used it to go up, and stairs for down. Breakfast was a treat. Eggs, bacon, fruits, cheese, meats, cakes, pastries, toast, cereals, yoghurt, juice and tea/coffee. Certainly enough to give you a good start to a busy day of sightseeing! Something for everyone. Wifi available and reliable. Nice sitting room just near reception and bar in the evening. Also provided nibbles during happy hour. No clothes washing facilities but laundromats nearby. Lots of restaurants and bars around to explore. If looking for water and snacks and odd forgotten toiletry, turn right out of hotel and walk a few blocks to a small convenience store. Would happily return to Rome and Hotel Canada!

Stayed over here with my wife in July when Rome was probably having the hottest summer of the year. Here are some of our comments. POSITIVES: 1. Comfortable Bed 2. Abundance in Toilet Amenities (different kind of shower gels, soaps, shampoo). They really over did this. Am incredibly amazed by it. 3. In-room air conditioner control. You could adjust your room's temperature. 4. Includes TV, Wardrobe, Safe. 5. Good WIFI connection 6. In room stereo / CD player 7. BlackOut curtains. It was really pitch black once you turn off the lights. Very ideal sleeping condition for the summer 8. Good location. Walking distance to metro, roma termini and a bus stop where there's a direct bus that brings you to Trevi Fountain and Vatican City. 9. Room has high ceiling which makes the room look big. 10. Pleasant reception staff. NEGATIVES 1. Inconsistent water temperature when you are bathing. It does fluctuate quite a bit as you are showering 2. No fridge in the room 3. In room stereo / CD player is faulty (USB / iPhone uplink) 4. You can't really have a hot water bath as the stopper to the bath tub does work. 5. They have an old school lift where you open and close the doors manually. We find it cumbersome and rather take the stairs. At the price point which I have paid, we will definitely stay over at Hotel Canada again should we visit Rome in the future.

This is my husband's and my second visit to the Hotel Canada. Our flight was arriving very late in the evening at FCO and we wanted to stay in a location that was easy to get to when we arrived and within walking distance of some of the sights in Rome the next day. This hotel was the perfect choice. From the airport, we took the Leonardo Express to Termini Centrale then walked 10 minutes to the hotel. The next morning, we had the option of taking the metro into Rome or walking less than a mile to the Trevi Fountain. Other things we like about the Hotel Canada: comfortable beds, very clean, excellent breakfast, air conditioning and a friendly, helpful staff. There's free wifi. We didn't find anything we didn't really like. I should warn you that if you're walking in the area at night the neighborhood may appear rough but it's very safe. We highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

We had a triple and it was quite large with some separation which was nice. Service was outstanding. Go to Meid of Nepoles for a great dinner. Breakfast was very well priced. Coffee, croissants, yogurt, boiled eggs....but scrambled eggs and bacon were not good. Good hotel met all of our needs.

A very clean, well situated hotel for those wanting to stay near the Termini train station in Rome as it is a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Termini. The staff was extremely courteous and helpfull. Breakfast is available at a cost but there is coffee in the room which is quite nice by the way. There are a few small pizzeria and restaurant about 3 or 4 minutes walk from the hotel and they have table and chair right on the sidewalk. Nice for those summer evening dinner.

The staff were extremely hospitable and kind. The receptionist gave great advice about the local life and good places to eat. We forgot one of our shopping bags at the bar and the bar tender found us in the hotel to return our bag. It was wonderful service. The hotel was very clean and the breakfasts were restaurant quality. Zero complaints here. We would stay again!

This hotel has a very good service at reception, the rooms are nice, spacious and clean although they are starting to show some wear here and there. So why am I only giving 3 stars for this review? Well we are writing 2017 a year where the awareness of certain standards is becoming every day higher and as a very first thing the breakfast! It is essential to offer a healthy high quality breakfast today. It is worth at least a third of the overall hotel experience that a guest has today. I know that Rome is a very busy city not least in terms of tourism and that many tourists wants a larger selection at breakfast and are willing to compromise on the quality. Instead I think the education of what real food is starts in the service business. Smaller selection, super high quality. It takes nothing to offer a selection of freshly baked bread, some local non-industrial jams, cheeses and ham. Fresh juice and fresh cakes. Possibly organic too, why not? A good description left by each local product etc etc. When a hotel in the Best Western chain gets to call itself for a Premier Collection hotel the expectations are high or at least should be high. Until the day that the hotel industry realizes that quality breakfast is a win win situation and not a maxi-profiting game then I will continue to lower my rating! The breakfast at this hotel is fine compared to many other Italian hotels but it is still all industrial made food and there is nothing fresh about anything. Very disappointing. I can definitely recommend an overnight at this hotel but you might want to take your breakfast somewhere else if you are into healthy food.

We stayed for 3 nights in late June. The hotel was located within walking distance (with suitcases) of the main train station as well as a metro station just around the corner which provides for easy access to the sites of Rome. The rooms were comfortable and quiet with air conditioning. There was an excellent breakfast available for a reasonable price. The front desk staff were polite and very helpful. Lots of little restaurants available in the immediate area.

Loved the friendly, warm atmosphere. The breakfast was pretty sumptuous with all food groups covered in this fresh morning meal. All tastes were catered for, including vegetarians like me. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was huge. A hop from the train terminus and a skip from the city centre, I'd recommend this place any day.

Very good location near the train station but also near to metro station in the heart of Rome. Friendly, family owened hotel with a nice design. A friendly bar where you can have a drink at very affordable price and they have snacks for free. The rooms are good with AC. Breakfast is exellent and can be bought extra if you dont want to have breakfast on the town.

Myself and my husband stayed here for a weekend in April. We were not disappointed. Fabulous boutique style hotel. A short walk from the main termini station. Beautiful room with a four poster bed. Breakfast was lovely. Evening snacks were a nice touch. We loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat :) Oh the lift is so quirky !!

This is the kind of hotel you want to walk into after a busy day in crazy town like Rome. The staff made us comfortable from the very start. The room was spacious and beautiful. The hotel is just one block from the metro station, and 6 blocks from the Termini train station. To make everything better we were here over my birthday, and upon returning to the hotel after diner (and a walk through town), we found a bottle of champagne waiting for us. This place outdid its self.

When in Rome... travelling friends recommended and we took them up on it. Pleased to have a comfortable stay, excellent breakfasts for 6Euro per adult, and service by Silvia. Such a pleasant young lady who speaks fluent in English, French and Italian. Vincenzo greeted and welcomed us, Arber was informative with surroundings and made great restaurant suggestions. After a couple of hot days touring, each evening had us at their excellent bar. Must have the Italian Spritz ladies. Our room attendant just forgot one very important item to stock, bathroom tissue. Not fun in middle of night.

Loved staying at Hotel Canada with our family (2 adults, 2 teens). We had a room with 1 double bed and 2 single beds, which was perfect. The room was very spacious, quiet, A/C working perfectly and generally had a great feel about it. Had a nice sized bathroom for the 4 of us with lots of towels and quality bath products, so very happy on that end too. We walked from Termini to the hotel, about 12 minutes, which was fine. We chose this hotel for the walking distance, so even with a few pieces of luggage, it was doable. We were also 1 minute walking away from the Metro station, but be sure to bring coins. The machines don't take card or bancnotes. We would stay here again for sure.

I stayed at the Hotel Canada in Rome 3 weeks ago with my daughter and granddaughter. We really enjoyed our stay here. All the staff were very nice and helpful. Our room was spacious. I really enjoyed the sitting area that was separate from where our beds were. It was a nice space to drink coffee in the morning. I really like how big the bathroom was, as well. With three ladies sharing a bathroom, I appreciated we had enough space to spread our stuff out. An especially nice touch was how they recognized my daughter's birthday. We never told the staff that she would be having a birthday during our stay. On her birthday, we arrived back to our hotel, after a long day of excursions. To our surprise, there was a bottle of champagne chilling, a nice handwritten card, and a nice leather coin purse. It was so touching, that just by looking at our passport on check-in, they saw it was her birthday and did this special thing for her. We also enjoyed the restaurants that were close to the hotel...especially The Bramble! Overall, a great hotel with many nice touches!
