"Not a good stay at all"
Alain L, 19 Octobre 2023

The hotel used to be called "Grand Winston" many years ago but it downgraded a lot since that time. The hotel nowadays seems occupied by long-term rentals and the breakfast has been transferred to the bar area. We stayed a week there and it became very cold in our room, I mean really cold, as there was no heating. After we complained twice, they sent us to another room where it was only a bit better. Cleaning ladies and other personnel are ukrainiens so they speak neither Dutch nor English. As there was not much on offer for dinner at the hotel, we always went out. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Fantastic"
Joanne W, 14 Septembre 2023

We've stayed here before so knew what to expect. Returned for a 4 night stay in September during the heat wave and had a brilliant time. Hotel is super clean and the room amenities are fantastic. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Air con is brilliant as are the showers! The front desk staff were really helpful letting us check in some 3 hours early as we'd travelled through the night. 5* what's not to love!

"The resturant"
t1aarora1203, 25 Août 2023

The resturant breakfast was very very poor and the manager was extremely rude, we were not treated dwell, I made us feel as if we were not welcome at all. Speacless how can a manager treat guests in such poor way

"Difficult to find by car. Very odd bathroom."
David Y, 13 Août 2022

Horrendously difficult to find by car. The signage is inadequate (they need a much more prominent sign but maybe they are not allowed to have one) but what is unforgivable is that the address given is inacceasible by car. To get to reception, you need to turn into a cycle.path and drive along it (probably illegally) to get to the front of the hotel when you will then be given a map which shows how to find the parking facilities at the rear. When you eventually find the car park, you need to press a button and hope that someone in reception hears the buzzer and raises the barrier. Don't they realise that people often arrive tired after a long drive and the very last thing they need is a stressful extra drive around an unfamiliar area? No, I am not making this up. I attach a photo of the map I was given which I hope will help others. Second really odd thing is the ensuite bathroom, which is a glass box with no roof. I have never seen anything like this in any other hotel (again, see photographic evidence). Little privacy and no sound-proofing. I was a solo traveller, so it didn't matter to me, but I wouldn't wish to hear roommates on the loo. Having said all that, I really enjoyed.my stay! The train station is but a 2 minute walk away with easy access to the major cities. Also, I was here during an August heatwave and so was grateful for the air-conditioning. Staff were friendly. Dinner in the restaurant was good (delicious sea bass) and attentive service. Breakfast was overpriced.

"Large rooms but poor breakfast"
S4568DUpatrickb, 30 Juin 2022

This hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the train station. Rooms are pretty large. The restaurant serves good food. Neverthless the breakfast is disappointing with cheap food (long life yogurt....) and small choices.

"GOOD AS FOR HOLLAND"
739dominikm, 16 Février 2022

No a bad hotel. Rooms are very big as for Holland standards and comfortable. Breakfest like in most of Holland very bad quality, small choice and low quality food. Diner also avarage food. Only service try they best and thety are very friendly

"Stay Best Western Plus Grand Winston Hotel"
mathieuweyers, 13 Mars 2020

Good Hotel with a magnificent lobby and a very nice picture of Winston Churchill. Didn't stay very long but the room was clean as well as the bathroom. Breakfast is very good with an egg station. All and all, I'd definitely recommend this hotel

"Great place to visit the Hague"
PieterImhof1, 10 Mars 2020

This hotel is located close to the Hague. This city can be reached by public transport easily, but being Dutch, we took our own bikes, but could have rented here as well. The hotel is well equipped, and though it has been there for a long time, it has been refurbished and has a modern look. The rooms are spacious, with all you need as traveler, being business or pleasure. The bar and restaurants are good and the breakfast can be recommended!

"Ideal for a two night short stay"
John M, 22 Février 2020

I stayed here in a family room recently whilst visiting Delft in the Netherlands. It is a short distance away but far better value than all the Delft hotels. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and hospitable. I would recommend.

"businell trip"
francospina2_60, 14 Février 2020

good hotel, also ratio between price and quality is ok position in the ter of the city 5 minutes walk from train station, near to business area hi quality of emploeeys the only thing is that room is little bit dark, no sufficient light for work

"Pleasant clean hotel"
P1199HVjasonb, 10 Février 2020

Pleasant clean hotel Close to rijiswick station A bit of a strange layout inside Hotel was clean and functional Breakfast was good Did not use the hotel restaurant for eve meal Plenty of local places to eat

"Family hol in Holland"
DrTripV, 04 Février 2020

Stayed there for a week - Family of 4. Whats good: Location - close to the train station, local town center and restaurants. Service -Cheerful and helpful staff. Rooms - spacious sizes and lots of natural lighting. Functional Kitchenette. Bottled water Had food on 2 occassions - impressed with quality of food. What needs to improve: Difficult to locate as not well marked - no directions or street signs Crammed parking lot and access is difficult. Weird lay out of the hotel. Restaurant has no variety - same fixed menu - u cant eat the same food 6 days a week( even if it tasted great). We were in a Suite - upkeep and cleanliness was not upto the standards you expect thats me being kind. Broken handles on Jacuzzi, broken shelves in wardrobes, minging fungus/ in shower. Single toilet for a suite of 4 people is a joke.

"Good experience"
aris3ono, 28 Janvier 2020

The service was great. We accidentally left our daughter doll. They quickly found it and immediately inform us. The location was also strategic, since it is very near to the Rijswijk station. As I mentioned earlier the staffs were friendly and helpful.

"Could do with an upgrade. "
Ehatlestad, 22 Janvier 2020

Stayed in this hotel for a week while working. Friendly staff, rooms were clean, good location next to train/tram/bus/restaurants etc. Breakfast was good. Goodie option if you are working in the area. Talked to colleagues, which said that the. Fittings in the rooms have been the s same for years and and years. Might be an idea to refurbish a bit? Value for money if you can't afford to stay in central Haag.

"Strange room concept"
SukramW, 11 Janvier 2020

We had chosen this hotel, because of a special offer at one of the booking portals. As a family we had two double rooms. The bath room is surrounded by glas only which in general would not be an issue, but in one room it was only partly milky. The second downside was that the glass was not as high as the room. I leave the interpretation to the reader. The reception, restaurant and the bar area are nice and fancy and the selection for breakfast was pretty good. The empty tissue box was not replaced during our stay, in one of our rooms we found underwear of other guests and in the mens toilet near the breakfast area the soap was not filled for at least two days. The most anoying was the smell in our room.

"Super hotel rooms and bar but menu average"
happycamper649, 10 Janvier 2020

Out of 5 Staff 4 Rooms 5 WiFi 5 Breakfast 5 Location 5 Menu/restaurant 3 Right next to train station so really easy to get to from schipol airport. Hotel literally 100 yards from train station. Rooms. Super and bar very good, the only negative is the menu, not very varied and service can be slow. Would recommend the hotel.

"Dated and in need of refurbishment"
travel337, 20 Décembre 2019

Staff very attentive and friendly. They are let down by the décor and fittings in room dated and shabby thru wear, e.g. shower missing nozzle and plastic housing cracked. Cleaning in bathroom below par fungus evident in sink around plug hole with ventilatior cacked with dust. The reception area is well spec's but the rooms let the hotel and staff down, need refurbished

"Tired decor, lovely staff"
MissAnneJ, 08 Décembre 2019

Staff 5* Cleanliness 4* Comfort 4* Decor 3* Breakfast 3* Chose this place for the location as it was so close to the Rijkswijk station and the customer's office. Shout out to Calden at reception who made me feel very welcome and was highly efficient! Great directions and local help. All the staff were excellent. The decor really lets the place down. Multiple damaged wooden panels in the corridors, stained carpets in the room. The shower had a cheap plastic tray you stood on that I was worried would crack when I stepped on it (no flooding of the floor/into the room though). Well appointed room with a comfy bed. Warning: no net curtains so you have to choose between no natural light in the morning or opening the sliding wooden shutters and flashing the offices opposite! Breakfast was hard to find (PLEASE put arrowed signs up, it's really not clear if you're coming from the other tower). Disappointing selection. Not bad enough to never stay there again, but I'll check what other alternatives are in the area next time.

"Some wear and tear"
Boxy987, 10 Octobre 2019

Clearly upmarket option outside of Amsterdam. Lobby and bar/restaurant area look premium and set expectations high. Inside the rooms, these are spacious and decorated in a relatively contemporary look and feel. Bathroom seemed a bit dated. Breakfast was also somewhat limited. Very conveniently located though for the purposes of my business trip.

"Nice hotel ruined by too many things "
Mooshimo, 30 Septembre 2019

I have stayed here around 3 times on business travel due to its location. It looks new, modern and clean. However it has a few things that will mean I probably won't be staying here again; 1. Stupid staircase with a wierd hand rail is annoying 2. Most rooms have showers that leak and create a smell as the carpets get damp. 3. Room lighting is pretty poor. 4. Breakfast is the smallest selection I have ever seen in my life. The premier inn in the UK is better than this... I'm not kidding. Staff are polite and helpful however.

"Not the best experience"
Quest22067070653, 15 Août 2019

Won't stay here again. Below the standard expected of BW hotels. Senior manager/owner needs to note his guests comments as our dissatisfaction wasn't the only complaints the staff dealt with during our stay.

"Room service leaves much to be desired"
Elizaveta_F2708, 02 Août 2019

I stay here 3-4 times per year for a business. The best of this hotel is its location in 2 mins by walking from Rijswijk train station, but this is all, there's nothing nearby, you can't pay by credit card (visa or master) in the closest supermarket (10 mins walking) there's only 1 restaurant located near the station. I can't say the staff at reception are nice, but they are more or less ok. Breakfasts are also ok if you stay for 2-4 days. I'm writing this review to say bad extremely bad room service - previous time nobody has cleaned my room within 3 days and staff left the note on the bed saying “sorry, we don't have time to clean your room” on the 4th day of my staying. The smell of towels is not pleasant , they smell like chlorine. Just see the pic attached to my review how they prepare the bed after I checked-in. In general i would say all the hotel furniture and carpets are not clean enough

"Clean & Beautiful hotel"
Codie_91, 25 Juin 2019

Spacious room with Modern decor. Comfy bed and big shower room with good water pressure. Free apples at reception. Big portrait of Sir Winston Churchill at the lobby. Had a glass of wine at the bar. Service was good nothing to complain. Walking distance to nearest bus stop. Nothing much at the surrounding blocks.

"Many missed opportunities"
Mike R, 25 Juin 2019

This is an odd hotel, which could have been so much better. It is a bit quirky, but the quirks aren't pleasant - just annoying. The stairs from reception up to the bar are awfully steep with a strange handrail that slants from bottom to top which makes ascending more troublesome than it needs to be. The rooms have bathrooms inside with glass partitions (that don't rise to the height of the room). - so steam and water vapour ends up in the room. We stayed on one of the hottest days of the year, the air con had packed up - front desk said they had reset the building aircon, but I didn't notice much effect - bad night sleep with no air flow (wndows are sealed shut) There were no irons in the rooms; you can ask for one at reception - but they had run out or didn't work (not a particularly a good thing for a hotel normally associated with business) Breakfast was disappointing; Flies / insects flying around the fruit bowls. Very long canteen style tables made it feel a bit like a prison rather than an elegant boutique hotel. Front of house & bar staff were pleasant, but unable to fix the problems of the building. On the whole, I wouldn't stay here again - There aren't too many places to stay that local - however, a short train ride you would be in the centre of the Hague where the choices are much better.

"Dated Hotel in a Great Location "
Julieswiss2014, 12 Juin 2019

The hotel is located at the office park of Rijswijk, close to The Hague. Good car park (payable), close to all transportation modes including train station. The hotel public areas and the room are dated and are in need to refurnish. Room is big, good bed and has all the amenities. Unfortunately, because of the weird bathroom design entirely built from stain & steel and glass, it makes loud noise when closing the glass door, shower leaks as the old massage water spray system is in need of repair or replacement. If one goes to the toilet on the upper floor and flushes one hear that noice in the room. Not enjoyable at all. Most of the wooden furniture is chipped. Bathroom lights needs upgrade, not strong enough. Breakfast is served on buffet style. The dining room is designed like a canteen, with long tables where over 20 people or more can seat at once. Not independent tables. No atmosphere. Breakfast service staff are sully and inattentive in their attitude. Other staff are helpful. In conclusion an average stay and we won't return.

"Not up to standard"
bradsted23, 30 Avril 2019

Hotel is generally ok, but a bit worn. Been here 5 years ago and since it's turned to best western it looks worn. From a distance everything looks ok, but close cleaning of windows and general bar and restaurant area needs attention. Breakfast is very basic and bar service is good, but bartenders clearly want to close early so evening feeling of welcome is not present. 3 star hotel only.

"Nice hotel, superb staff"
J897RPrs, 18 Janvier 2019

Have stayed for one night for a business meeting. Relatively large rooms for Netherlands. Very friendly and caring front desk staff. They actually remembered my name and helped me to locate personal belonging I had misplaced. Very unusual to get such high level of customer service. I was impressed.

"Fair prize for good quality hotel"
MvReenen, 13 Décembre 2018

The hotel is directly located next to Sir Winston Club where we went for a night party. The hotel has very good facilities; nice and very large, well equiped rooms. Unfortunately the airconditioning was not wordking during our stay and even though it was October the outside temperature was quite high and therefor the rooms a little too hot.

"Nice hotel"
kriden, 24 Novembre 2018

We where here for one night. Parking space is available at the hotel. Rijswijk is not the city to visit but the trainstation is around the corner. In ca. 10 minutes you are in Den Haag. Every 30 minutes leaves a train. The hotel is clean en the rooms are good. One minor was the amount of water in the bathroom after showering. Breakfast is good. You can have a seat in a conference room. Not my kind of breakfastroom. Staff is very friendly. A good hotel for a visit to Den Haag.

"Could do better"
RealMadras, 12 Novembre 2018

It's ok. The rooms are ok although if your working at night bring a head torch so you can see what u are doing. The breakfast is ok. The restaurant is ok. I just feel if it had more local competition the winston might need to improve its offering. I think it relies on its location rather than its product.

"Awfully uncomfortable stay"
patent88, 22 Octobre 2018

Stayed at this hotel for one night whilst on business. Air conditioning in one of the towers had failed which meant that my second floor room was at a temperature in the region on 30 degrees C. I asked at reception what could be done but was informed that all rooms were equally affected in my tower and that the other tower (where presumably the AC was working) was full. I had to prepare for a hearing at the European Patent Office in my room and despite stripping down to my smalls had sweat dripping down my back all evening - and not just because the case was bothersome. The lighting in the rooms was also appalling and the shower tray was flimsy.

"Average hotel but convenient"
Curious288788, 16 Septembre 2018

Somewhat dated hotel near to the station. The rooms could certainly do with an upgrade - the glass bathroom in the room takes getting used to! The menu is limited and never seems to change. Staff are pleasant and helpful.

"Quite okay for a night"
Jay R, 04 Août 2018

Comfortable bed and spacious bathroom but the glass may not be suitable for every get together. Hotel could use some touch ups (hallway panels missing) and breakfast was a bit chaotic. Friendly front desk staff.

"Beautiful hotel interior, can't beat the price, needs more parking."
HawaiiStateOfMind, 24 Juin 2018

We had a great stay here during our time in the Netherlands. Rooms are small and interestingly modern. Our room didn't have a ton of privacy because the bathroom and bedroom were separated by an etched glass partition and open at the top. A little awkard for the person in the bathroom. Ordered room service and the food was delicious and served with an adorable fresh flower bouquet. Parking is very minimal sometimes we had a hard time finding a parking spot after returning to the hotel. Breakfast was not included so we went to the McDonald's down the road.

"Untransparent roomrates, hotel needing renovation"
frababa2018, 21 Juin 2018

I stayed in this hotel as a business traveler for a company that has many guests in this hotel. The roomrate I was offered was apparently without breakfast included. The breakfast was about 17 EUR per day. If I had gotten the room with breakfast included, the rate would have been the same, without the 17 EUR per day extra. At check-out I was made aware of this. They would not convert my room reservation to including breakfast. I should have asked for this at check-in. But my option not to have breakfast included was not pointed out to me at check-in. It seemed to me that a number of guests ended up in this situation. It looks like a convenient money making scheme to me. Also the rooms are quite unmodern and run down. A renovation is very much needed.

"Truly shocking "
Nigel M, 12 Juin 2018

Where to start, the half drunk bottle of water in my room which greeted me or the 2 hour wait for food whilst people who arrived an hour later received there food first. For anyone considering staying here, think again. The worst part.. I have to endure another day in this place.

"Ok for somewhere to sleep."
Mark_and_Ali_H, 29 Mai 2018

Miles from anywhere useful. Nowhere to walk to in the evening. Pictures on the website do not show the hotel at all. My first room already had someone in it! Bathroom is a glass box in the corner of the room, very stylish in 1992 but not so good if you are sharing a room with anyone who you'd not want to see your silhouette showering. No fresh air in the room and a solid wooden window shutter with no other curtains so either window clear or total darkness. Overall I'd not be rushing back to this hotel but if I had to stay there again on business, it would not be the end of the world.

"Good hotel, some small things need some attention"
Steve D, 29 Mai 2018

We stayed here for 2 days. Room was nice with a mini fridge and a safe. View was not too spectacular. Had AC in the room. The bathroom was a part of the main room and was only separated by a frosted glass "wall", but it didn't go all the way to the ceiling (See pic). So if you had to "go", all the noises are heard in the room. I recommend turning on the TV! Also, the bathroom didn't have a toilet brush and the front desk said that the room service will take care of the cleaning. That is all good, but you have to look at a dirty toilet till the next day if your unlucky enough. There was no bathroom deodorizer to help with the smells. The front desk said they were going to bring up a small spray can, but it was never delivered. The breakfast was good. Not too special, but it was nice. The room was large where we ate and it had long tables to eat at. No single seat tables for privacy. It was also noisy on Saturday when it was full. Parking was very easy. It was just around the corner, but it was a VERY small parking lot! Overall, a nice stay. Would come again!

"Needs some attention to detail."
Nigel_HD, 25 Mai 2018

We stayed two nights at this hotel and had to change rooms. The first room had an air conditioning unit which had no cooling effect. Worse still, you cannot open the windows. Apparently when the hotel was built in 2004, that's what the architect designed. The staff were almost apologetic -- but something has to be done. The second room was better with an air conditioning working sufficiently to keep the room cool. The temperature outside was only typical spring-like, so we wonder what it must be like in this hotel during the summer months. Breakfast needs attention. It's OK, but when it gets busy the log-jam occurs at the ONE coffee machine. Come on - it's not rocket science to install a second coffee machine in the main dining area, just like you have a second juice machine.

"V good for a business hotel albeit miles from anywhere"
AntsHarrison, 16 Mai 2018

I will keep this super simple, if you need a hotel that does those basics of a room that is modern and clean, quiet, good food, excellent staff and you don't mind spending 30 mins in a taxi getting anywhere this is a really great hotel. The view is pretty dreadful but tbh I am at work and don't really care. If not then you are looking at the wrong hotel!

"Greag service and breakfast, comfortable room"
Maria E, 30 Avril 2018

I stayed here for a weekend with an organized tour group visiting The Hague, Amsterdam, Keukenhof, and Delft. It's true that the hotel itself isn't very near any of these places, but it made for a great base. The center of The Hague is just 20 minutes away on the easily navigable tram. And the other places were just drives of an hour or less. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was lovely. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I thought it was odd that the bathroom in our room had, instead of a solid wall, glass panels that were opague and didn't go all the way to the ceiling. So not as much privacy as I was used too. You can hear everything going on in the bathroom from your travel companion. Oh well, if we weren't close before this trip, we surely are now. #whitenoisemachine

"Mixed review "
susan2909, 20 Avril 2018

Attended a conference & stayed for 3 nights. Room comments Ok size Comfy bed but possibly the worst bedding ive come across, lumpy doesn't begin to describe it Bath towels are far too small, not much larger than a lady would use to towel dry her hair Location comments - Not a happening area, there is nothing yo do. Hotel is 1 minute from train station & tram stop. Staff comments - Helpful & polite Conference facilities - AC was terrible, we spent 3 days melting. Catering - food is a nice standard & good selection.

"Useful base- but out of city and with limited parking"
vit666, 10 Avril 2018

Chose this hotel due to claims of free parking. Disappointed to see that on Saturday night when we arrived there were no spaces, so had to park on the streets (fortunately as it was a weekend, it was free of charge). Parking spaces very limited but the staff did state that usually things are better during weekdays (and we did manage to bring our car in the following morning) which is a good thing as there is no free parking around during weekdays. The hotel is very conveniently located to Rijswik Station tram station which we used extensively during our stay. The main Rijswik train station also is nearby. There is very little around the hotel as it in a business district with Shell headquarters behind. The room was very spacious and clean, though probably a bit basic when considering it's 4 star status. Staff were very professional and courteous.

"Good hotel .. little bit far from Action"
Islam_Mongy, 01 Avril 2018

I have stayed here for 6 days in a business trip. The conference was in Hague (around 30 minutes drive). The hotel is in a quiet area. The room is modern & clean. The breakfast is relatively good, but more varieties may be needed.

"Business stay"
Gerard de B, 11 Mars 2018

Have returned to BW GW Hotel, because of my business with client in Rijswijk and its favourable location [i.e. close to railway station and close to client as well]. Although the rooms are comfortable, the ambiance is lacking. Neither is there any 'visible' improvement in areas that are in dire need of 'change'. If ambiance is not high or your priority list and if you don't mind eating out in any of the restaurants in the vicinity, then BW GW will be just fine for you.

"Horrible customer service, nice hotel"
FamilyImmonen, 26 Février 2018

We have been so many times in this hotel because of business trip and also for the vacation. Usually everything goes just fine, but there has been twice that kind of situation that i wont understand that. We had a delay because of early check in and they want give us something because of that. Front desk told us: - you can go to our restaurant and drink anything you like. That was a complimentary. We did go there and we drink 2 glass water and 3 cup hot chocolate. After that we get room for us. But then they told us: - we offer you only 2 cups hot chocolate? No 3 cups and you didn't pay that 1 cup. You have to pay it now. They make me feel like a bad customer and i felt i have been making big mistake. That Key account manager was very unfriendly (woman with curly, brown hair, wearing glasses) in that case. I had to also call to Finnish customer service because of that. After that they told us at that was misunderstanding in that case. They also told us, because of that misunderstanding we can order something small from room service to both of us. Next day i did call to roomservice - they told us that we can only order one thing and one drink, like friench fries and something like that. Okay, i order one fries and cola to our room. BUT because fries was free, they dont give us a ketchup. We asked that again, but no - you wont get any ketchup. I asked can i pay that ketchup - no, ju cant. That ks free, no ketchupt. Very weird because of that small thing. Okay, maybe we can survive because of that. Last time, 18-21.2.2018 we where there. They lost my earings. I know they should be behind the locks, but i was that room same time with house keeper. I touhgt that wont be necessary. After that cleaning i did go to our bedroom and try to find my earings. I left those nighttable. First touhgt was that at maybe husband has moved those earings and he told me that they are on nighttable, near the bed. But no, earings are disapeared. I try to find those earings everywhere in our room with my husband, we but evyrything upsidedown. We didn't find those. We asked that from front desk and they promise to help us, if they could find those. I was leaving to airport and wanted to ask one more time if they had found my earings. Earings was very important to me and i really want to find those. Front desk service was very friendly because of that thing. But ONCE AGAIN that unfriendly woman come to my and makes me feel like a quilty and bad person, almost yelling to me. She told that was my fault, our cleaner wont never ever do a mistake. Thats not a good service to us, we are loyal customer in that hotel. But no earings, bad feeling again - Why that person works at that hotel? Hotel is nice, but no that person. She destroys whole hotel and the motion. These are small things but if hotel want, you van handle these things much better.

"Better value elsewhere unless you happen to be visiting Shell which is across the street"
Like_to_sleep_late, 04 Février 2018

Super convenient if you are doing business at Shell which is right across the street. But you have to put up with crumbling furniture and fittings, lousy housekeeping, and the most awful bathroom design you can imagine (where the bathroom is part of the bedroom - how in the world did someone come up with that??)

"Great place to stay if you're just visiting for a short while"
irini v, 03 Février 2018

Visiting Rijskwijk for the first time, great location. Many restaurants nearby. Quite spacious rooms with a comfortable bed and a nice view. Only negative comment is that the "bathroom" is in the same room you sleep in and is without a roof, therefore, you cannot have as much privacy as you would like.

"Good business hotel - not so good for tourists"
TravellingTrevLondon, 26 Janvier 2018

Typical corporate hotel - a bit characterless, though the huge portrait of Winston Churchill in reception makes an impact! Fairly clean & efficient, I was there for a week and didn't dread going back to the hotel, which is a good sign. Well connected with a fast line into The Hague for sightseeing & more night life. Good rooms, the lighting was a little gloomy perhaps, but comfy beds and nice & quiet at the back. There was a bit of an administrative error on checking in, apparently my room was switched with someone else, leading to no less than 3 visits from staff trying to sort out the problem, the inevitable confusion at breakfast and finally mis-charging at checkout. It all got resolved amicably enough, but it seemed to take an army of people to do it. Winston would have been appalled.

"Good hotel."
Perfecto G, 22 Janvier 2018

The rooms are amazing, so confortable. The bathroom are incredible, great. The breakfast are good and fresh. The personal are attendant. The property are clean. The location of the hotel it's so distance of the old city.

"A simple efficient business hotel"
AnisArsad, 09 Janvier 2018

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel despite it being a simple hotel. Reckon that it is a business hotel, close to the Rijswijk train station and various offices. The staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The room was fantastic though it does seem a bit dim even with all the lights switched on. Had a great view to a school on the opposite street. Wifi is strong across the property. The breakfast was also perfect with its various options.

"Repeat Visit"
CatherineTL4, 02 Décembre 2017

I have stayed at this hotel a few times - the staff are efficient, helpful and friendly, the rooms are a good size, comfortable and quiet, and the food is good. A few little things let it down a bit during my last stay. The room lighting was dark, which isn't great if you need to work. The ‘in room' tea & coffee selection wasn't as I remembered - as a tea drinker only being offered powder coffee creamer was a disappointment/fright!! A few other things not worth mentioning here but overall good value.

"Great stay"
rbraeckman, 06 Novembre 2017

We had a most enjoyable stay at the BW! Lovely room with comfortable bed and splendid bathroom. Very very clean! Staff go out of their way to be helpful and are very friendly. Luxurious breakfast with great choice! Excellent restaurant. Good prices. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

"Fading fast..."
Andrew S, 02 Novembre 2017

Stay here for the convenience. Close to the office and the staff are friendly, but the beds are too hard, the shower was cracked and some of the corridors look pretty shabby. My room service burger was inedible, but at least a quick beer and some bitterballen in the bar were OK. One night stay only, so didn't experience the restaurant or the breakfast.

"It is good for the price. "
Ammar M, 13 Octobre 2017

The good side . Room and place is very quiet. Bed is comfy and clean. Price is good conpared to the other places in area. Room is 8/10 clean. Fast and painless check in ( less than a minute ). The Bad The washroom is in the middle of the room ( glass walls ). The place and room are a bit too quiet, dim and gloomy. I would stay here again .

"Nice city hotel"
Stiefie7, 01 Octobre 2017

The check-in was quick and good. The room was o.k. but the bathroom is made off glass screens which do not reach to the ceiling. That is not always enjoyable when doing "morning excercise". The duvet was clean but had been in the dryer or so. The fillings where pilled up so the duvel was very irregular formed. Felt a bit strange at first but we didnot loose any sleep over it. ;-). Room was very clean.

"OK, but don't expect too much"
Janeymac1010, 30 Septembre 2017

I stayed at this hotel primarily because of the location - close to the EPO in Den Hague. The hotel is tired, dark and dismal. There is no comfort - the bed and pillows were not at all comfortable and the facilities within the room were old and not functioning well - the plug didn't work, the shower door didn't close etc...and the curtain was a wooden panel ?? It was OK for my needs but I would have expected better.

"Check the bed before getting in!"
Amy F, 28 Septembre 2017

The local Administrative Assistant for my company booked us into the Grand Winston for a short business trip. My co-worker and I arrived about 9 in the morning and were just exhausted from the journey. The women at the front desk acted like we were asking to stay in THEIR homes when we asked if we could get in early. They preferred we walk around for 5 hours & then come back, but BTW the shops don't open until noon on Mondays. RELUCTANTLY they advised we could pay 20 Euro to get in right away. GREAT! I went to my room and was so exhausted, I just fell into one of the twin beds. When I woke a few hours later, I noticed there were dead spiders in the bed! Needless to say, I switched rooms and checked the bed before climbing in! This hotel is worn out and I can't believe it gets 4 stars. The rooms are so dim - literally I think the bulbs are 5 watts, so bring a camping lantern if you plan to read or work. There were THREE phones in my room and not one of them worked! That was a problem with all of my co-workers' rooms -- That definitely didn't help me feel safe! The bathroom is this bizarre glass cubicle & the shower might've been nice with a jetted panel, but you needed to be 7 feet tall for the jets to hit your body! That was fine - didn't want to linger with all the mold! The project manager from my company was disgusted and says he will find us a new hotel.

"OK hotel but not the wedding night we imagined"
R C, 27 Septembre 2017

Ok first the good points. Its a nice hotel, well decorated, rooms clean, nice view, good breakfast. Bad points.. we stayed here on the night of our wedding. I had upgraded the room to ' love package' where we would receive a bottle of champagne in our room.... which we didn't. I went to ring reception, only to find the telephone not working. I wasn't planning on going down at 2 in the morning to look for champagne in my birthday suit and looking like an alcoholic bridezilla, but just a shame it wasn't there. On any other occasion this wouldn't have been a biggie, but you only get one wedding night ( hopefully ) so it wasn't something a bottle of champagne the following morning could make up for. The receptionist did apologise half-heartedly but as I see from the reviews, this isn't a one off, so if anyone is wondering if its worth the upgrade... this is a big nope. This is something I think the hotel needs to address to make sure it isn't a common occurrence. Overall I think the hotel was pricey for what they offer.

"No Maintenance in years makes this place a worn out wreck"
Tetragon, 21 Septembre 2017

From the moment you arrive you will notice something is not quite write about the parking then the interior is very dark so you talk to the front desk and they dont really care so you take your key and try to figure out where the other elevator bank is. On the way to the other elevator bank you notice how everything is just so worn, nice items but just so used. Enter the room and notice the lack of attention to detail, the wall has stains, mini fridge looks like someone has tossed in random items in a hurry, 2 not 3 but 2 Nespresso pods for 2 people and the machine is rather gross. Now go look at the bathroom see how the sink faucet is stained and the toilet seat doesnt fit so look at the shower head full of calcium and when you turn it on water comes out of places it should not. This place is suffering from the lack of a maintenance staff, its a true statement and your money should get you more. Do not stay here.

"Friendly staff but no ambience"
tinekepost, 17 Septembre 2017

Everything previous people said was true. Bathroom not separated from the room so you can hear and smell everything thats going on there, Breakfast room no atmosphere at all, long tables. Hard mattras and a stange quilt with bumps. No window can be openend so because the ventilation is on all night the air in the room is very dry. But the hotel is perfectly situated between the cities Rotterdam, Den Haag and Delft. It can easily be reached by public transport because the busstop is next to the hotel. Staff was friendly and breakfast is perfect..

"One night only "
Suzanne O, 29 Août 2017

We stayed here for one night on the 8th floor was welcomed with a smile and room was clean bed comfy the shore on the other hand was poor look very smart but that's where it stopped there is a shopping centre up the road and tram line outside the hotel all in all nice stay for one night

"Room not clean"
Rob D, 13 Août 2017

We joined the two bed that where in the room. Then you could spot that the rooms are not properly cleaned. what a mess underneath the beds. The hotel should really spent more time with cleaning. Also the beds are not nice to sleep one. Hotel is in needs an update.

"Great Hotel"
ankmeye, 13 Août 2017

We stayed at the Best Western for one night. The Hotel as well as our room were very clean and modern, only the "open" bathroom was a little bit unusual but ok for one night. There was a big choice for breakfast: different kinds of bread, cold cuts, fruit, yoghurt, pancakes, omelette, juice and water. We ate at 10am and it was still a lot to eat there, even though breakfast finished at 11am. Cheking in and out was easy and quick and the staff very kind and professional. The only disadvantage was the little parking. We drove to the Park & Ride at Hoornwijk, which was cheap and useful if you decided to use the tram during your stay because you got a cheaper ticket for public transport. Moreover, it may take some time but by taking the lines 15 and 17 you can easily reach the Hotel. To sum up, it is a great Hotel if you decide to stay for only few days. And by using the Park & Ride, you wont lose that much time or money and see a lot of beautiful den Haag.

"close to train station but a bit out of the city center"
WorldTravelOne, 06 Août 2017

The Best Western Plus Grand Winston Hotel is a mouth full. Plus and Grand. The interior decoration of the main public rooms is very nice. The lobby with the 'larger than life' picture of Sir Winston Churchill is indeed grand and plus size. The egg station at the buffet breakfast was superb: your own special order omelet. Staff is friendly all around, check-in/out, bar, breakfast. That is indeed grand and a big plus. Rooms are 'different' with indoor frosted glass three quarters wall of the bathroom in the bedroom.

"Good business hotel"
Nikki I, 04 Juillet 2017

The property is a bit tired and is not a great "romantic" getaway. However its in a good location for business travellers. The breakfast is lovely and all the staff are very helpful. The rooms are in need of renovation and the bathrooms are definitely in need of an upgrade.

"Grand? Maybe the Lobby"
grlnxtdor, 28 Juin 2017

Found the hotel slightly difficult to get to by car since you have to drive around to the back of the hotel to get there, which is all the way around the block. Seeing as the front of the hotel is a bike and walking path. We booked a suite for the extra space and amenities that were there. Not sure it was worth it if other than for space. The couch in the room was torn, dirty corners in the bathroom, the shower had a lot of calcium build up so the shower didn't spray properly as well as the mold in the bottom. There was only one set of slippers and bathrobe in the room even though booked for two people. When I called to the desk they said they were out. Booo! The bed was lumpy and hard. The a/c was pleasant and worked well. Overall not a bad hotel just very worn.

"A bit worn out"
protoncito14, 21 Juin 2017

Warning: the picture of an old building shown by the hotel is completely misleading. It is not of the hotel but corresponds to the Mauritshuis, a few kilometers away in The Hague. The hotel is a modern building. The location is in a business area, far away from any place of interest for tourists. The glass window in the bathroom is ... shocking.

"Comfortable, excellent evening meal, good value for money"
2012JandBS, 21 Juin 2017

Having stayed here for two nights in the middle of a heat wave, I was very grateful for the large rooms with quiet air conditioning, a very comfortable bed and good size bathroom and shower. Having hurt my knee, i was also glad that everywhere was accessible via lifts. The staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful and for the price it was good value for money. I did not try out any of the gym or fitness area. Location is geared towards the industrial park / area so if you have local business this meets all of your needs. Breakfast was standard and with enough range to suit most people.

"Good, slightly ageing business hotel."
levtahor, 19 Juin 2017

Good location for visiting businesses in the area. Decent fitness room. Good breakfast. Reasonably helpful staff. I hope that the rooms will be renovated now that Best Western has taken over. There is some room for improvement in that regard.

"Well, okay..."
oohl, 17 Juin 2017

Mmmm this hotel was optimal for location of a business meeting. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean but the crazy glass bathroom was showing a lot of persistent mold in corners and the shower was tricky to operate and I actually burned myself. The towels never stopped smelling of cheese and kitchen, hallways were super sour. The phone didn't work and there was an apology note from management, but the television also would not work for us. There was only decaf instant coffee in the room and powdered coffee creamer, an abomination, gah. And the hotel linen QC person should be let go... towels tattered and some bed linens seriously stained. On a really positive note, the bar staff was TOP NOTCH, especially the lovely professional bar man who moved in some standing bar tables to accommodate our rapidly gathering group of business people. And the restaurant served a brilliant dinner to our group as well-- great service and really delicious food, thanks.

"Training session"
Morten I, 17 Juin 2017

Stayed at this hotel as it was close to the training centre and the location could not have been better. Friendly staff and easy check in, but the hotel was almost deserted, not many guest. The rooms are clean, but it's only a glass wall, not even to the ceiling, that enclosures the shower and bathroom. This design would not be my favourite and it's OK when you are on your own, but it would be very different if you shared the room..... The bed is NOT soft, more like a brick Will be back for another session in October, but not sure if I would stay there again

"Hotel is looking tired"
Artfull69, 15 Juin 2017

This hotel has always been quirky in design but since it has been taken over by Best Western it feels like they are cutting costs. Yes the staff are friendly, yes it is clean but apart from that it is so disappointing. I only chose it for the location (I am working in the building across the road). In desperate need of an upgrade!

"Great location for my business meeting"
J6381MClindan, 14 Juin 2017

I wouldn't have normally picked this hotel because it is not one of the hotel groups i am accustomed to. The hotel is literally across the road from my training room and it is central to most locations in the city. It is good that i don't have to worry about transport. Since this hotel caters more for business type people, the lighting in the rooms is really poor for working after hours. I would appreciate if there cab be improvement in that regard. All the other facilities such as Wi-Fi and gym are really great.

"So So"
Anco M, 31 Mai 2017

I stay here on business trips because of its location - the place I need to be is across the road. The beds are clean and comfortable and the service is not unfriendly. However, the hotel is very gloomy with brownish furniture, brownish carpets and a lack of lighting in the room. And while I don't mind the long breakfast and dinner tables on a business trip like this it is not ideal for a private trip. Finally, this time many phones were out of action, which meant having to come down to reception for questions and no wake-up call. This is not getting better.

"Comfortable"
M-Gsmit, 25 Mai 2017

Comfortable hotel, helpful reception staff, nice rooms with comfortable bed, sofa and desk - free wifi, bathroom was a bit strange and could only get water out of the overhead shower faucet - Dinner in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced.

"Comfortable and well located"
Amedeo G, 02 Mai 2017

The hotel is very comfortable and well located: it is good if you wish to visit Den Haag, Rotterdam and Delft, especially by car (even if the hotel parking is..the street behind the building). My room was huge, clean, equipped with Nespresso coffe-machine, warm and comfortable (we were three, two adults and my son). Last but not least, from my room I was able to see the Delft main tower (6km far): beautiful. Highly recommended.

"Okey-dokey"
DivPinto, 01 Mai 2017

We stayed here for 2 nights on our short vacation during Easter. It was very easy to reach the hotel by public transport. If using public transport, the location is very convenient. Did not get any happy or cordial welcoming feeling when we reached here. We did not use any room service but the check-in/ check-out was all fine. The room was neat and clean but very dimly lit. We would've preferred little brighter lighting. Bathroom was very clean and nice. The shower had additional body sprays (massage jets). But there was no separate door for the bathroom and the shower cabin was also fit in a corner towards the room (very close to the bed). It was not possible to stop some water coming out of the shower. This was really annoying and definitely a bad design idea. Our overall experience was not bad but nothing great either!

"In a downwards spiral... Soul has left the building."
Ghibli608, 16 Avril 2017

I've always liked this hotel. I've been a loyal customer for years. However, I feel this hotel is losing it's attraction. The staff is no longer as friendly as they used to be. The bartender (not Bob!) was horribly dressed: tie not properly tied, shirt out of his pants, crack visible, ... Really?! No coaster for the glass or the bottle. After day 2 the orange juicer broke... and it wasn't replaced during my 4 day stay. I got upgraded to a "remodeled" room; my colleague (who stays as often as I do) wasn't. The non-remodeled rooms are to be avoided. Seriously. The gym is to really up to modern standards: 2 treadmills and 1 bike. No free weights. What is a good evolution though: 2 charging points for electric vehicles on the premises! Excellent.

"Nice clean and quiet Hotel"
nidstravel, 04 Avril 2017

A business hotel. Clean and quiet. Rooms are good and cupboards are spacious. Ask for an extra lamp if you choose to read or are used to using white light. All facilities are available except a weighing machine so pack your bags carefully. Food options are not many. Prefer eating out at nearby restaurants.

"Cold and uninviting"
hector2800, 01 Avril 2017

Looks and performs like a busy conference centre. Not a friendly tourism hotel. If you like to eat in a works canteen the restaurant will suit you. Food standard was ok but inconsistent. Car park very limited. Not well signposted and frontage not easy to get to unless you know the area.

"Avoid if possible"
VACaroline89, 27 Mars 2017

Tired hotel, with an odd atmosphere, very poor and broken fitness facilities and strange rooms that have sliding doors to cover the windows and terrible lighting if you need to work. The breakfast was good, but I'd stay more centrally in the Hague next time.

"A room with a view"
annderoose, 22 Mars 2017

Nice and spacious rooms with a view (had mine on the 6th floor). Good breakfast; staff was rather short in words and not welcoming - both at reception and in the restaurant. Rooms include water heater in the room. Bathroom had a good shower, though made the room flood....

"Good Hotel with good value food"
Bob_Coules, 19 Février 2017

Spent two nights here on business trip. Lovely comfortable beds with well equipped rooms. Ate in the restaurant on one evening and had a very good meal at a reasonable price. Very close to the Shell office and easy to get to from the airport. Would recommend if needing to work in The area

"Disappoint in all corners"
NightBaby, 11 Novembre 2016

We had booked five rooms for a family visit and received a nice suite for us. But the poor quality of service provided in our room was enough to make our stay a disappointment. Replenishment of tea and coffee amenities was not done even after 2-3 reminders. When we called the reception, she mentioned that since none of the housekeeping staff is present in the hotel, the amenities will be sent the next day. Our towels were torn and had big holes in them! When we mentioned it to the housekeeper, she mentioned that these are the kind of towels the hotel receives so what could they do? This reply is a big shock to us coming from someone in the hospitality industry! There is no sense of owning a complaint and doing everything possible to satisfy the guest. We regularly travel around the world and have visited Rijswijk since many years, but never will we stay or recommend any one to stay with this hotel again!

"Good quality hotel with all the amenities"
morc66, 01 Novembre 2016

It is a good quality hotel with all the amenities you need. Recently prices have gone down, most likely because it is now run by Best Western. The interior is a bit outdated but if good quality. The shower and toilet are in the same room, separated by a glass wall.

"Value is proximity to office, others a mix of good and not so good"
BobM08, 31 Octobre 2016

It's location was great, with the office I was visiting only a few hundred meters walk behind the hotel. The other aspects of the stay were a mixed bag: - the hotel room and amenities were functional and decent, but a bit old and tired. The shower was, on the other hand, too complicated and difficult to figure out where the water would come out and how to control the temperature. - the gym facilities were very minimalist with 2 treadmills and a couple of elliptical machines and 2 stationary bikes. No weight machines or anything else. And the machines were pretty old and very basic. - the positive thing was the food from the restaurant which was surprisingly quite good. I ordered room service a couple of times and the. Went down for a final dinner on my last night and had a great meal. Checking in was easy so was checking out and arranging transport to the airport.

"Changed to Best Western - but not for the best ??"
Scotdebs, 26 Octobre 2016

For regular visitors to employers or businesses in this area there is always a dilemma with the Grand Winston - proximity to the office v quite few downsides but mainly based on location rather than the hotel itself. However on my first return visit since being bought over by Best Western I am less than impressed. Wifi seems slower and more useless than ever before could not log on for work purposes at all this was never a problem before. TV- the 2 uk channels (bbc1 &2) would work for 2 mins at a time then get an error message. "Video format not supported" . Nothing in the minibar not even the option of a bottle of water - those who have stayed in the hotel before will know there are few amenities close by so after arriving late at night to find I couldn't even have cold glass of water without getting dressed and going down to the bar was ridiculous. Thankfully the lovely and helpful staff in the bar and restaurant have remained. Although did not feel the reception staff were up to previous standards. There are a number of other thing about the hotel I didn't enjoy in the past ( dark rooms - the wooden curtain makes me feel like I'm sleeping in a coffin; the glass bathrooms !!! Very dull lighting ...To name a few) but was happy to overlook for the positives. However I now feel those positive have gone and I will now book my accommodation in The Hague and make the trip into rijswijk each morning ??

"Nice hotel, design"
Joe_from_Holland, 20 Octobre 2016

Small rooms with bathroom with massage shower. Breakfast expensive for what it offers. Better to wake up late and visit the restaurant next to the bar for lunch. Location is great, 5 minutes by bus to The Hague city and 10 minutes to beaches.

"Nice htl in an anonymous place "
carlmonite, 18 Octobre 2016

Short business trip. Loved the huge, really huge picture of Sir Winston Churchill in the lobby..he welcome's you with his aristocratic/bored face and his "I'm way better than all of you" look. Friendly staff, spacious rooms. Bathroom is ..in the room separated by tainted glass walls. Internet connection was a bit painfull, I don't understand why in 2016, in 4star business htl you need to pay for faster connection. Good breakfast and nice bar too. If you are in Rijswijk for business reasons, it's the place to stay.

"Nice place, clean and practical"
CristianoCardarelli1, 05 Octobre 2016

I chose this hotel as it is in front of my office. I found it very nice. Friendly staff, rooms are clean, plenty of room and very silent. Maybe just the lighting could be a little improved around the work area. I have been at the restaurant and again I found nice and friendly staff. The quality of the food. Was also very good.

"Only tolerated because its close to the office"
Alec M, 18 Septembre 2016

I had heard from my colleagues how most business visitors prefer to stay in this hotel only once. Then I stayed there and understood why. The restaurant was closed the evening I arrived. The ensuite bathroom arrangement is weird - a glass enclosure with hardly any segregation with the main bedroom. So if there are two of you, the non-barhroom visitor gets to hear and smell everything. The bed quilt / comforter had been washed so that the quilted segments had clumped together so that you ended up with a souble layer sheet with lumps. The coffee is probably the worst in Holland. Plenty of better alternatives, life is too short to bother with this place.

"Lovely room, friendly staff"
MCB76, 12 Septembre 2016

Stayed here for one night at the weekend with my daughter. We were able to park in the company next door's car park as the hotel car park was full. Checked in just before 7pm and were given a room on the top floor. My daughter thought this was brilliant. The room was a good big room, the beds were on the hard side, even my daughter commented on it. The bathroom was again of generous proportions with funky glass walls. We went downstairs to get some dinner to find the restaurant closed but we were able to order food from the bar. The staff were very friendly.

"Very nice hotel in good location"
milestone11, 11 Septembre 2016

The Worldhotel Grand Winston is a very nice 4* star hotel with all amenities a traveller needs. Very comfortable rooms, nice F&B facilities (hotel bar/restaurant) and a very good service all over the hotel. Right now, the hotel has been rebranded to the Best Western Plus Grand Winston and a new configuration process is in progress. Since this change is on progress for the next couples of weeks, they are all working on a new concept for the rooms and the F&B ameities. Especially, right for the moment, for the first, all rooms will obtain new bathroom facilites and new beds, also the F&B concept will totally be renewed. The big goal of this hotel is its location close to the railay station and via railway or tram to the city center. I like this hotel very much, especially their nice F&B facilities and indeed hope they will make a good goal out under the new owner.

"Beautiful room and hotel"
Mo2012, 19 Août 2016

Stayed here one night for business purpose. Big hotel, spacious room. And the en-suite glass walled bathroom is truly a piece of work. Unfortunately it was a short stay, 1 night. Havent had breakfast so cant say much about it. It is not near The Hague Central but easy to reach by public transport.

"New decentrally located business hotel"
GypsyKingBrussels, 10 Août 2016

LOCATION: Located in Rijswijk, in between The Hague and Delft. You probably need a car to get there, but there is a free parking area behind the hotel and that is certainly a plus in a country that often overcharges parking space. As there is not much to do nearby, I expect this is more a stop-over for travellers by car. PREMISES: Modern, efficient, clean and pretty big, so expect to walk a bit inside. ROOM: Modern and spacious, with all expected amenities in good working order. Spacious bathroom but with a big minus: it is inside the room and only closed by a glass wall, open on top. In other words: if you are not travelling alone, there is little privacy and if your room mate or bed partner goes to the bathroom at night, it might be noisy and with lights shining in the room. No idea why design comes before practical use - a big minus if you are not travelling alone. Another downside: noisy airshaft at night. Side remark: the room's hotel directory had a guide on how to use the Nespresso type coffee machine, but all I found in the room was a common water boiler... RESTAURANT: We tried the hotel in the evening, but that turned out to be a bad idea. Of the three main courses, only one was available (no fish or meat). The wine by the glass came from bottles that clearly had been open for some time and were sufficiently oxydated to be classified as vinegar: I tasted two but gave up. The Tagliatelle was freshly made, but lacked taste. The service was by a girl who clearly was not happy to work, and had absolutely no clue about wines. STAFF: efficient and friendly in the hotel (for the restaurant: see remarks above)

"Ok for a short visit"
hove123, 30 Juillet 2016

It is ok. The air conditioning in my room was not cool enough, and the meal in the restaurant was just ok. This is convenient for local businesses, but it is a dead area in the evening. Better to stay in the centre of The Hague and take the tram (about 15 minutes) unless this is just an overnight stop.

"Good all-round hotel"
Richard C, 27 Juin 2016

This hotel is ideally situated for the Shell Projects and Technology building which is located a few hundred metres away but there doesn't seem to be a great deal to do locally. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable with modern furnishings. There is plenty of choice for breakfast and in the evening on the a la carte menu. The rooms have a selection of British TV channels which was pleasing and free wifi with good speeds and reliability. Very friendly staff who always greeted us on arrival.

"Nice enough"
Azalee99, 15 Juin 2016

Friendly staff. Spacious rooms, comfortable bed, reasonably clean. The double bed has one huge duvet- if you are not alone, it might be wise to request two single duvets. The shower fixtures are a ridiculously complex contraption- but I managed to avoid scalding myself. On the other hand, it leaked a bit down the wall. The airconditioning unit could have been a little quieter. I did not eat there since I was fed elsewhere throughout my stay. On the whole, this place is a little more marketing than substance, but comfortable enough. I would certainly stay there again if I needed to be in the area. On transport: the hotel is right next to Rijswijk railway station, which is a big plus. Reception sells one day tickets for public transport, which have the electronic feature for checking in and out with the system just like the locals do every single time they enter AND leave a tram or bus. You can also buy these from the machine on the tram- which takes ATM cards and gives you a normal printed, dated paper ticket which then does NOT require checking in and out. More tourist- friendly, in my opinion. Bikes can be rented at the hotel. Not very cheap at 7.50 EUR, but it seems ro be a normal price in the area.
