Modern rooms, very well furnished. Friendly and efficient staff. Great breakfast buffet. Public transport right next to the hotel. Walls are thick which means you cant hear any other guests, therefore had a great sleep.

The headline - Stayed here for 5 nights as part of a business trip. Great front of house staff and overall acceptable when the weather is cool. Check-in was super smooth and the reception team were very welcoming. They gave me all the information I needed; WiFi, breakfast local eating options. The only down side was that I asked for a fan as there was no AC in the room. They were unable to locate one until the next day… 28.5 degrees in the room overnight. Upon entering the room, I had a single room on the 2nd floor which was snug but had all the amenities you'd expect from a hotel within this class. Initial inspection showed all was clean except for the toilet. There was something left by the previous guest that needed clearing with a flush. Not a great start to the room. The next morning, during my first shower, it was evident that the drain was blocked as my entire room filled with water. This was a disappointment from an otherwise great shower - temperature and pressure was great. As I left for work I mentioned the fan requirement and shower issue. I was glad to see both had been resolved by the time I returned after work. Housekeeping - the room was cleaned everyday to good standard. I had to ask for a change of sheet on one day as there were some strange marks on my 'new sheets'. On my penultimate day, the shower gel dispenser had run out. This was not picked up on the subsequent cleans until my check out. Again, nothing major but not great. Breakfast - They had plenty on offer and all was presented well. My only complaint would be for the juices to be served cold instead of room temperature. Summary - I'll probably stay here again due to the location to my work as it's an OK option. However, this will be dependant on the weather. It's too hot without AC.

Clean, convenient, near market, great staff. Parking at night can be issue and they have no ice and no fridge or drawers to put clothes which I have never encountered in hotel before. Overall very happy .

Nice hotel that is very clean. Rooms are small but typical for the area. Shower is very small but has nice shower head and hand held sprayer. No a/c but also typical for Germany. Nice grocery store right across the street was very convenient and the train is just a short walk up the street. Would stay here again! Staff was very helpful!

SCAM! We have been staying at the hotel for the last 5 years renting 5 rooms during the Prowein Fair. With the cancelation of the fair due to the unfortunate force majeur of the corona virus, the hotel has pocketed the 198€/night ( average) /room and has not been cooperative reimbursing the paid 100% full amount early December 2019 ! The normal price for a room is 52€/night, we offered to pay 100% of this amount but were told that it was non-negotiable. I would highly not recommend this hotel for its treatment towards its loyal customers. Imagine for a new ones!! Stay away, there are some hotels in Dusseldorf who have behaved the fair way and are worth your patron.

Fr. Eckhoff at the reception and all the other receptionists are just wonderful.. Feels that you are at home when you sit at breakfast. Just give only the look and they exactly know what you like to have on your table. So nice, kind and caring.. Breakfast spread is also excellent although the price may be a bit more on the higher side.

Arrived late in the evening. Super friendly reception. Nice beds. Excellent breakfast with large buffet selection. This is in the town of Ratingen not far from Düsseldorf airport. We loved our stay here.

Anyone going to Düsseldorf trade fairs will be thanking me for this hotel and restaurant recommendation. The price for a stay is reasonable for hotel prices during trade fair days plus the rooms are clean, service top-tier, dining extremely good and there's a local train about a block away for an easy ride to the exhibition center, the Düsseldorf Messe. I was here for the K Show in October and enjoyed the hotel's "Restaurant Fritz" so much that I ate there six nights in a row. The service from Ms. Morleo, a very professional waitstaff professional, made the dining experience first-rate. She was great in helping me appreciate the menu, since I'm not a German speaker, and she worked well with the Chef, Ferdinando Pisa, to provide appetizers and entrees that exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed venison, steak, sausage, and pasta; plus extremely fresh salads. Also the Primitivo wine was perfect. I'm so impressed with this venue, that I'm back again for another Düsseldorf trade fair, Medica, and I'll be dining again at the Fritz in the Best Western Breitbach for the next two days.

One of the best hotels in Ratingen. Walk to the town centre, trains, trams and buses. Airport is 10 mins by taxi. Good amenities, including Nespresso machine and ironing board . The staff are friendly and speak English. Downsides: parking garage is quite cramped and breakfast buffet is a little less comprehensive than some in Germany, but still good. Overall clean and well run. Recommended.

The overall experience is very goo good, the staff and location made all the difference - You have Bus & Tram station is few minutes walk just across the street - grocery store Penny just opposite the hotel. Loved the ice cream shop on the way to station

This hotel is very clean. The staff is very kind and very helpful. Anna was a dream and she helped us many different times with many different things. The rooms are clean but very small. We had a king sized bed that was really two twins pushed together. The linens are comforters on top of the bed. No sheets. The bath room has a ridiculously small shower. If you are a larger person you might not fit. it is 36 inches square at most. The hotel provides an adequate breakfast in the mornings. It has typical European fare. Again, the staff is spectacular. When I came for breakfast the second day the young lady who helped us remembered my order from the morning before. Outstanding! They offer WiFi that worked very well. I had no issue connecting to video calls in my room. You do have to logon every time even though you have the remember me tab clicked. The hotel is on a very busy street; we had the window open because it was a bit stuffy and it was very noisy. If you close the window it blocks the street noise but if it is hot... It is very close to the cutest town center. We walked there for dinner each night and this was very nice. There are many bakeries and bars.

Reception: friendly, helpful, gave us information how to go to the village of Ratingen. Room: there is no air conditioning. Both the room and bathroom are very clean. Good bed, pillow and duvet are very neatly laid and good to sleep on. Restaurant: We've enjoyed our dinner here. Good and affordable. A hotel close to Dusseldorf airport. This hotel will be our hotel for our future travels through Dusseldorf.

Clean and modern rooms. Rituals shampoo and showergel in the bathroom. Helpful and kind staff. Good location near the center of Ratingen (walking distance). Free parking. In conclusion a good place to stay for a cheap price (60 euros per room per night). We would definitely come here again.

Although our room was small, it was very well decorated, very clean and warm. The hotel is very close to the center of Ratingen, you can walk or take the bus (it has a stop right in front of the hotel. I must say, it is a lovely hotel and we will book again.

Stayed at Hotel Breitbach for three nights towards end of February & found it to be a very pleasant hotel with very helpful staff, particularly reception lady on duty afternoon & evenings who gave the impression nothing was too much trouble. I made a single room booking, which turned out to be a room at the end of the third floor corridor which comprised bedroom & separate bathroom & wc. Bedroom itself seemed a little small although not an issue for me. The bed which I would describe as a large single was comfortable & I had 3 good nights sleep. Hotel was fairly quiet & didn't get disturbed at all. There was a room safe & coffee maker provided. TV was a good one which had access to UK channels. Separate bathroom was quite large with large shower cubicle & everything was clean. Upon arriving you are given breakfast vouchers for each morning which you hand in to reception if you don't use.Self service breakfast was very nice & good quality. Location is on the main Stadionring about 5 minutes walk to "Mitte" bus & tram stop & about 20-25 minutes walk to Ratingen Ost rail station. It will cost around 25-30 euros for a taxi to/from Dusseldorf Airport if using that option. Overall this was a very pleasant stay which was extremely good value for money & I would certainly stay here again if in the area.

A fairly ordinary hotel. nothing extra. hard beds, small toilets. however, it is good without a lot of noise etc from the streets. about 50m to the nearest rheinbahn station. But the beds are disaster, do not belong in a hotel,

Very clean experience in this hotel. They cheanged the towels, bedsheets and cleanup the bins. They also cleaned the shower area. Food in the restaurant was good. They only bad thing was a minor thing(which I didn't coplain to the reception) was the shower which was not function really well, but I could say was acceptable. They also have ironing board and dryer, also the internet was working very good. The hotel is very good located, near Ratingen Mitte from where you can get to Dusseldorf Center. Also very close to Ratingen city center, 5 minutes walk.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days. The staff is very friendly, I had notified them that we would be arriving early since we were coming in from the States and they had a room all ready to go for us ahead of normal check-in time. We were SO thankful we could rest and shower after our long flight. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The room was smaller than we had thought but worked fine for 2 people for our short stay. Parking was just outside the front door and was included in the room rate. Hotel is an easy 10 minute drive from Dusseldorf airport and located just across the street from a grocery store. We didn't eat at the restaurant so can't speak to the food. Our room faced the street but we didn't notice any loud noise during the night. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel in Ratingen. Good service from the front desk people. Room was small, but had everything needed. Good sleeping comfort. Breakfast was very good. Rooms are refurbished, but you could sometimes hear noise from other rooms. Very affordable prices.

I chose this hotel because it was a relatively good value not too far from Dusseldorf airport. I was generally pleased with most everything about the hotel including the friendly and helpful staff. The room was quite spacious and was equipped with iron and ironing board, which is always a plus for me. Standard box-in-the-corner shower but good water temperature and pressure. Biggest negative about the room was the lack of air conditioning. It was unusually warm at the time of my stay, which meant I had to sleep with the windows open, which meant there was some noise coming in from the street. There was both above ground and basement parking. The location was convenient, with a Penny Market across the street and the central restaurant area less than a 10-minute walk away.

I have stayed for only one night but this was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Everything was perfect from a pleasant and warm check-in to a fast and effective check-out. Although the room itself was not very big in size it was very clean and had everything in order. Comfortable bed, very pleasant shower, good wi-fi connection. The next door restaurant is also not to big but it is well maintained and serves really good food at reasonable prices. Breakfast was one of the best I have seen with a big choice of good quality products. And once again everything was so clean and so in order. Very nice that there is complimentary parking. In fact there are 3 parkings. One is on the side of the hotel next to the restaurant, the other is at the back of the hotel and the third is in the garage. I am very happy with the service I have received and will happily come back.

I've stayed in many hotels in Ratingen whilst on business - many are not very good. This was a surprise gem! Although affiliated to Best Western I believe it is a franchise. Welcoming staff, a comfortable room, great little restaurant and fantastic breakfast - even with bacon and egg and freshly squeezed orange juice. I'll definitely be coming back!

Stayed for only one night and delighted with the rooms.. The room itself has a kettle/coffee facilities as well as an iron if you feel like setting up a laundry service..fairly spacious but not if you want to run around in your birthday suit..Breakfast and evening meal is good and affordable..For me.....I like

I needed to catch the airplane at 6:30 am so I needed something that is somewhere between the Dusseldorf's airport and the Ratingen center. The staff was exceptionally kind; they even called a taxi for me in the morning. And the room... well, I had everything I needed to for one night, and not to mention the brand new bed. Too bad I had to wake up at 5:30 am. Also, there's a small cheap restaurant that is a part of the hotel itself, so you can have yourself a nap or a drink if the main restaurant is closed. I had a caesar salad and water for only 8€. Lastly, because I had to leave early in the morning, I got a beautiful lunch package that prepared me for the long and exhausting flight. To summarize, wonderful experience with exceptional staff.

Hotel is perfectly located, at ± 10 min. walk from the centre of Ratingen (and his small, but very cosy Christmas market). Free parking place (outside the hotel). It takes about 30 minutes to drive by tramway to the centre of Düsseldorf. The tramway stop is just behind the corner. Rooms are completely renovated, rather small but very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was super, value for money. A large choice of meat, cheese even salmon. Fresh orange juice available.

We stayed 3 nights for pleasure (golf) we have appreciated the good and friendly service. Rooms were clean and also well equipped but a bit small. Easy access to Düsseldorf and to the Düsseldorf golf Club.

The staff were friendly, they'll help you and guides you , the room's clean, but if you had an extra bed in your room it'll be too small and there is no space, there are no fridge or Ac, but you could ask for a fan and they'll bring it to your room , even that it's cold in the area . So you don't really need a Ac. The Wi-fi was perfect ????.

We stayed here for 3 nights for work and pleasure, and were delighted to be greeted by a very welcoming staff member. Our room was readily available. We were not happy to have a twin bed room, so called Reception and was immediately moved into a double room. The staff member himself came upstairs to sort this out, rather than forwarding on this 'hospitality' request to someone else. It was immediately sorted. We asked for things to do over the weekend and how to get to Dusseldorf, and the staff member was really helpful. She gave us print out maps and also the tram timetable, advising us where to catch it from etc. Absolutely brilliant. There is a very good supermarket located directly opposite the hotel, where you can get alot of items, including breakfast. There are also restaurants and bars nearby (10mins walk), so the hotel is conveniently located. The wifi internet connection is very quick too, which is always a bonus. The only reservation that I have is that we were not allowed to stay in the room until 12:30pm. The check out time is 12:00pm and the hotel is strict in enforcing this, as they stopped the internet connection too. I had asked if we could stay another 30mins, but was told that we would have to pay extra euro's for this. When my wife asked, they insisted that the hotel was fully booked and others would come to check in at 3pm, so they needed the rooms cleared. House keeping also ignore the "Do Not Disturb" sign outside the door, as they still decided to come in whilst we were sleeping on Sunday morning. Apart from this, it would have achieved 5 stars (lost 1* due to the final two points). I would recommend this place and wouldn't mind staying here in the future.

I stayed here during the fair, so the hotel was fully booked (about 20 mins by car to Düsseldorf fair grounds -> don't take the Autobahn at rush hour times). The staff was really friendly, even though we often arrived hungry late in the evening. The kitchen is open until 10 p.m. and you can get drinks at the bar well into the night. The breakfast buffet was delicious: meatballs, little sausages, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, yoghurt, cut fruit, real German bread, toast, jam, honey, cheese, meat, you name it. And if that was not enough, you could have pancakes or fried eggs. Then there was also fresh orange juice, lactose-free milk, coffee and several types of tea (black, green, herbal infusions). Certain coffee specialities and cocoa could be had as well. The only thing I didn't like were the rolls, which were of a cheap kind and dry. But the bread was good. I had a double room of my own on the third floor. The bedroom and the shower (very modern) were spacious. The colleagues who slept on the second floor told me their rooms were smaller (even though those were double rooms, too). There were several lamps in my room but still it was relatively dark. The bus stop is right in front of the house. So if you insist on sleeping with an open window and you are not used to street noise, you should go for a room on the back side of the house. There is free parking in the underground car park but there is not much space. Better try the few parking spaces behind the building.

Overall experience was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and organized. 5 minute walk to quaint downtown shopping district. Quick 10 minute taxi ride to Dusseldorf airport.

The hotel appearance is very new. Room was clean. Especially I liked the brightness of the room. But there was only a small sign saying "Best western" out side of the hotel, so I wondered if this is the destination or not.

We stayed here for five nights in October to attend Spieltagen in Essen. My experience with the hotel was mostly very good. Our room was spacious, but since we were three people in one room it still felt crowded. Check-in was smooth, and we were always met with a smile in the reception area. Breakfast is very expensive (€12), and you can get much cheaper food at the grocery store and the bakery across the street. Our room was always clean and tidy when we came back in the evening (although the cleaning lady did leave a rag on one of the chairs once). The real issue I had was with the waitress in the hotel's restaurant. Her English was not perfect, but sufficient to serve and take orders. However, we were not treated very nicely on our last night, she insulted us by saying we were only there for the free drinks when we asked if the dessert came with a free hot drink (which is what the menu said), she rudely told us to "STOP!" playing our card game when she brought us the food, but had then completely forgotten my dish, and didn't even remember it when she put down dishes in front of my two companions. She also talked rudely to a French couple that wanted to reserve a table, and had a loud argument with a German guest that made the whole room feel quite uncomfortable. Overall our stay was very comfortable, except for our dining in the restaurant.

Easy to find place you can't miss it on the junction but the car park is small and around the back. Once parked and you walk in the lobby we was met by friendly staff who were more than willing to help and the atmosphere was great in the hotel restaurant. The rooms were small or the one I had was but it had everything and was clean and comfy. Nice nights sleep nice hotel.

Only a one night stay in a coach party. Made to feel welcome. Rooms good but self-service food was strange. Lots to choose from but nothing quite seemed to go with anything else - perhaps its a German thing... Have to get used to the continental system of marked beer mats to tot up your drinks bill.

A nice hotel near the center of the Ratingen; the room is clean and enought big. Is possible to go to the center by walk in 10 min or take the bus o metro in front the hotel. Out the hotel there is a supermarket. Good location to stay in Ratingen.

We have stayed at this hotel before and were very impressed with the cleanliness and breakfast. However, on booking for another stay were very disappointed with the price, both of the hotel and the breakfast. As an English couple we had extolled the quality of our stay to fellow travellers saying that the British hotels don't know how to serve a continental breakfast. We found that for both hotel and breakfast had vastly increased.. If your appetite is poor, definitely consider whether you want to pay the £15.00 for breakfast however good it might be.

The Hotel Breitbach was a welcome site each night after the trade fair. The location is ideal, very near to a nice city center of Ratingen, but also just steps away from a U bahn station that would take you directly to the Altstadt of Duesseldorf. The staff was friendly throughout the hotel. Very few of the staff I had contact with did not speak English. The room was clean and well kept. It included a hair dryer, coffee maker, ironing board and iron, which was a welcome surprize considering the number of shirts and pants I had to iron over the course of the trade fair. The breakfast was substantial, with the typical continental menu plus scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. You could also request omlettes and pancakes from the kitchen (which I did). The restaurant was good but had a limited menu. It also was hit and miss on whether it was open, based primarily on filled rooms I suppose. The same was true with the bar, since it shared space with the restaurant. Fortunately, if the restaurant and bar was closed, the distance to ample restaurant choices in Ratingen city center was small.

We stayed at this hotel two weeks ago during Japan day. Fantastic festival. Hotel was clean, nice location with supermarket in front. A small walk to the old town centre for shopping, restaurants, pubs etc. Staff were really helpfull, catered for every thing we asked for. Happy customer.

This hotel has recently become part of the Best Western chain and is a good example of a mid priced hotel typical in this part of North West Germany. Free and quick internet is available, and a workstation and printer is available if you need to use a PC. Whilst the well equipped and comfortable rooms are of average size for a German hotel, they may appear on the small side to non European visitors. This hotel is on the bus route to the Düsseldorf Airport Train Station which itself is a 5 minute Skytrain ride to the actual airport.

Really nice clean modern hotel, near Dusseldorf, not ideal with you want to stay near the city centre. About a ten minute drive away. Great staff.easy checkin, and checkout. Make sure to ask for room at rear if staying during week.

Nice, compact, easy and fast. The hotel staff is very helpful hey. And the hotel is near Dusseldorf airport, which is a few minutes drive. When i got there, i settled quite fast without having to wait a long time.The breakfast buffet offers a wide choice to choose from.

I stayed in this Hotel during a team Golf tournament so I did not choose it myself in the first place but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the single room I had and especially of the service quality and of course the breakfast. The hotel itself is situated on a street corner that seems to have life on it 24/7 although there is only one super market close by, and it is only open during the day and not at all on sundays. So make sure to request a room facing the back in order to avoid the noise that might come at 3:30 on a Sunday morning... The room I had was a single room and very roomy for that. the hotel seems to have undergone a major overhaul in 2014 or 2015 since everything related to the interior seemed brand new. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious enough for the demands of changing and showering multiple times a day. Extra attention must be afforded to the extensive breakfast buffet. Not only extensive but of high quality as well, with a wide variety of cereals, breads and rolls, meat, cheese, eggs of different varieties, juices, teas and so forth are sure to satisfy every taste there could be. The staff will also take extra wishes. All in all this is a great hotel if you want to stay in Ratingen, after having seen other hotels here as well I am now declaring this one my favorite ;-)

Everything is neat, staff is friendly, breakfast is great! Walking distance to the city center for dinner in one of the typical little restauranst. The hotel was rennovated in january an it still smells very new ...

Good location - near to stop on on airport-Ratingen bus route, and 5 minute walk to pleasant town square with good eateries. Spotless, comfortable room; friendly and helpful staff. Ratingen is perfect for stopover but hotel is on tram route to Dusseldorf centre if staying longer. Taxi required early mornings, about 15 minute ride.

We were switched here at the last minute from another hotel nearby. Lovely clean rooms, good size walk in showers and comfy beds. Previous occupants underpants found behind the luggage stand which the cleaner had missed! No air conditioning but as it was very hot the hotel staff found us a fan. Good breakfast selection. Friendly staff who gave us good travel advice for trains to Koln and buses back from the station. We will return when we next visit our friends as it's only a few minutes walk to Marktplatz and various restaurants. The only downside was the pillows which were dreadful. We noticed some local guests brought their own pillows. Impossible to access WiFi which was a bonus as it gave us a break but maybe not so good for business travellers.
