    « Nice hotel with 5star service »

We spent totally 3 nights in BW Zen hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, whereas it could be quite noisy due to the traffic on the road in front of the hotel. Nevertheless, we had a very nice stay there, especially thanks the really excellent service. All the staff is very kind, helpful and client oriented. A special thank and hug to Natalia and Angel who made our stay just wonderful!

    « nice Hotel »

good Hotel with all the services good infraestructure, the personal is oriented to give a good experience to the visitor. rooms with all the services internet good speed inside all the furniture looks like new.

« Great views from room! »

I stayed here for 3 nights before my trip to the Galapagos. My room was very clean and modern with a floor-to-ceiling window that had a fantastic view! The wifi was excellent. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful with booking tours. One of the stops for the hop-on, hop-off bus is a short cab ride or walk from the hotel. A staff member helped me order dinner one time from the delivery menu and a security guard escorted the delivery guy to my room to give me my food. A security guard was always present at the lobby door which made me feel safe. Jose, the hotel's driver, gave me a ride to and from the airport. He was friendly and professional, telling me interesting facts about the city in Spanish and pointing out different sights during the ride. I liked the breakfast buffet, which had a good selection of food. The breakfast lady was also very nice!

« Perfect stay in Quito »

PRO: - Spacious and clean room - Strong WIFI - Hot water with pressure - Good breakfast - Helpful staff - A mall with supermarket just across - Fast food within 10 mins walk which open till late - It was my birthday the day i checked in, and they have complimentary fruits for us CON: - Not located in historical centre

« great hotel and staff »

Great rooms, modern and clean. Some reviewers complained about the street noise. This is Quito. It's loud everywhere. This is actually the quietest Quito hotel I've stayed in. Yes some "white" street noise, but no barking dogs, roosters, or car alarms. Just the hum of a city street. Ask for a room in back and it's quieter. Bring earplugs or play "rain sound" app on your phone.

    « Clean, helpful, welcoming »

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at Hotel Zen. Our Spanish is not so strong but we had no problems at this hotel - the front desk even helped us order pizza. The room was clean and quiet, the view was lovely & the shower was huge. Breakfast was great, so fresh and again - everyone was super nice.

    « A good option »

Rooms here are very nice, the design is good. Minimalist but also thoughtful, with regional character. I stayed here twice, second stay about 2 weeks after the first. I found my second stay less enjoyable for a few reasons. Firstly, they gave me a room directly next to the elevator. Previously I had stayed on the other side, which I recommend asking for. Somehow the set up of the rooms on that side feels better, might be feng shui or something. Although the room was the same size and looked identical (with everything reversed), the room next to the elevator felt smaller and less inviting. My fellow guests on that floor were also extremely noisy late into the night then, on my second stay. I don't see why they couldn't have given me a room on a more tranquil floor. I don't think they were very crowded. Also on the second stay, breakfast was totally different. On my first night, breakfast options were delicious. Next time, not edible in my opinion and I was stuck with just coffee and fruit. Beautiful views though. Good location. Good wifi. I got an airport pickup from them on my arrival in Quito and everything went smoothly with that. Turned out to be just $3 more than what standard taxi rate would have been. So, worth it for the sake of someone being there to receive you and knowing exactly where to take you etc (I arranged this by calling the hotel). Most staff quite alert and attentive. I slept well here. You can open a window in the rooms which to me is always a major plus. I think I would go back again, the price is right. It's not luxurious but a fine option and good value.

« Very clean, convenient, modern hotel »

Hotel Zen is conveniently located in north-central Quito. Staff was professional. The rooms were very comfortable, with the exception of noise from busy 6 de Diciembre street. The price on was good. Breakfast (included) was good, with fruit, eggs, meat, coffee, juice. The hotel is withing walking distance of restaurants and entertainment to the north. Large La Carolina park is also nearby.

« Best hotel staff in Quito »

Staff were friendly, gracious, polite and efficient. They helped us make plans for dinner, walks close to the hotel and a driver for going to otavalo and Cotacachi. We will be returning again in a week as we close out our Ecuador experience back where we started in Quito. I can't recommend this hotel more highly.

« The Staff was Incredible!! »

I was amazed with this hotel from start to finish. The only reason I picked it was because I had ?Best Western points? for a free night, which I actually didn't redeem because of my early and very tired check-in. Whatever mis-communication I had, I'm sure could have been taken care of, I just didn't care. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Daniel at the front desk helped me plan 2 different tours and had advice for self guided walks around the hotel, but the entire staff was exceptional, from front desk and doorman to housekeeping and the breakfast staff. The complimentary breakfast had enough different choices each day and even if there was something I didn't care for, I could find something to eat and enjoy, as well as eggs being offered every morning. I asked for ice and only got a little bit, which was enough, but I would rather just find an ice machine and get it myself, but they didn't have one. The room was great I had a great view, ask for room 901 or 902, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was superb, including the soap and amenities. There wasn't an air-conditioner which would've been nice for about an hour or two in the afternoon and there was road noise that would have quieted by closing the windows, but it really wasn't that bad. I sound like I'm nit-picking, but I feel like I have to find something negative to comment on and it is not easy with Hotel Zen. I would stay here every time I go to Quito, even if the hotel was in disrepair, just for the staff. I worked in hotels and resorts and I know how hard it is to train and staff any business especially a hotel with a lot of varied travelers

    « Super Staff »

The desk staff went out of their way helping us. We arrived at the airport after 3+ weeks traveling, low on cash, speaking no Spanish, and thinking the Hotel was meeting us with a shuttle pick up. When a taxi driver with a sign showing Best Western came up to us we thought he was our ride. Since he didn't know English, and we didn't know Spanish asking if he was from our hotel got a positive answer. As we traveled into town we began thinking we were in the wrong car. It turned out that our communications (Spanish/English) had put us in an awkward situation. The desk gal was able to save the problem. The desk continued helping us thru our 2day stay. They are friendly, warm and continued to be so as we needed more assistance. The room was very nice and kept clean. We were on the 7th floor and heard no street noise. Breakfast was super too!

    « Wonderful staff! »

The Zen is a small hotel that excels in service! The rooms were very comfortable and clean. They offer a fitness center and a complimentary breakfast. The staff was exceptionally caring and helpful. If I go back to Quito, this is where I'll stay!

    « Great stay »

Nice family stay way from home. We had a newborn with us and the hotel supplied a pack and play for the baby to sleep in. Great service and brand new / comfortable amenities. Location is great and breakfast in bed was extraordinary. 100% recommend.

« Nice hotel. Lots of road noise though »

This is centrally placed and close to lots of great bars and restaurants. Rooms are big with good bathrooms but lots of niggles. Like the temperature of the shower going so hot that you couldn't continue the shower. Or the hole in the wall where the cables for power and TV lead through to the room next door. Not a bad breakfast. Small gym but effective

« The best in Quito »

The best economic hotel I've ever stayed, staff was super professional and helpful! The breakfast was good. The only problem is probably the noise for the rooms on the main road side, lots of traffic, day and night, but it was not a big problem for me.

    « Great Choice »

Great choice in Quito; clean and large room and well lit; central location and close to good restaurants and the historical center. Continental breakfast. Suggestion : could offer map of the surroundings with suggestions of restaurants and tourist attractions.

    « We were amazed! »

This was a major surprise. The hotel is beautiful being simple, "Zen" Japanese in it's furnishings. We really appreciated it's small carbon footprint and the big hearts of the employees. It was very pleasant and amazingly peaceful and quiet.

    « Would Rate 10 Stars If I Could »

Hands down the best experience staying here!!! We were greeted with coffee/juice, etc and escorted to our room. The hotel is beautiful and the room is spacious/cozy. A great warm shower was a bonus! Breakfast was awesome too! Upon arrival the hotel was able to book us a shuttle to the airport the next morning. The location is central to many restaurants/bars and there is also a large grocery store across the street. We highly recommend staying here!

« Best as the name suggests »

I was on the top floor of the Hotel, the views are simply great, good, clean hotel with excellent staff who are always ready to help you. The Hotel is in the centre of the city overlooking a shopping mall.

    « It's really good service »

It's good customer service and excellent place. Hotel is recently going to have 1 year, so rooms are in perfect condition. They do have some agreement with some restaurants so I just called to reception and they delivered my food to my room. Love it!

« Great Service and Comfortable Beds »

The service at this hotel is outstanding. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The comfort of the bed was outstanding. The windows in each room are floor to ceiling, so ask for a room with a view. The only negative is the street noise can be a problem in some of the rooms. I'm still giving this hotel a 5 since everything else was perfection. This hotel does not have a restaurant, but there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance.

    « I very nice surprise :-) »

This was a very nice hotel, new, modern, very comfortable and clean. The staff were first class, very helpful with helping us plan out our day. It was an easy walk to the market and restaurants. It took us 15 minutes to walk to a hop on hop off bus that took us on a tour of Quito, well worth the $15 dollars.
