"It's just ok...!"

After a day out in this rough city, it's nice to be come back to a safe, clean and modern hotel with facilities that work. Was accorded an early enough check in, grateful for that after a very early start from Cap Haitien. Front office was efficient and friendly. Suggested Patisserie Marie Bellard which turned out to be a nice respite. No welcome drink as other reviewers had mentioned, though... but no big deal. Breakfast not included in room rate, and for USD 10, it's extremely MEDIOCRE and TERRIBLE VALUE... very small selection of toast, cereal, fruits and coffee or tea. The a la carte items were better, about USD 5 for an omelette or about USD 10-12 for eggs Benny... Dinner at Le Michel was acceptable. Had chicken wings and Indian chicken curry. Our room didn't come with blankets, only a thin sheet that wasn't enough with the a/c that could not be easily adjusted... too warm or too cold... and too stuffy if it's turned off... fan speed can not be adjusted. The a/c is also room temp-controlled, so if it goes below it'll switch off and on if it goes above... and if you're trying to sleep, it's really noisy, and woke me up a few times during the night when it stops or starts. Requested for blankets and had thin wool blankets brought to our room shortly after which wasn't enough for a supposedly 21 deg C (but feels like 18, but 22 was too warm...) room either... The rooms looking out to the street were quite noisy too, and you can hear traffic and people partying even from the 6th floor... Although the noisy a/c does help a bit in blocking out the street noise. The area around the hotel doesn't exactly feel the safest at night, as we were accosted by aggressive prostitutes and beggars. Just in front of the hotel, is a guy selling his art... not bad, but very pushy! Pool is great on a hot day, but no towels...... and no one at the spa to request from either. Some rooms reeked of cigarette smoke which leaked out onto the corridor and it stays on the carpet, so walking past those rooms wasn't pleasant... The hotel is located within walking distance to some decent dining establishments, though walking back uphill is a trek and the taxi drivers are all daylight robbers... Just as I was writing this, got a call from front desk Jennifer to check on our stay. Greatly appreciated! All in all, much could be improved, but good effort.

Great location, very nice staff, especially Deborah the front desk supervisor who helped me resolve some issues in our room. The telephone in the room was not working, the safety deposit box was not working, there was no shampoo in the room and the hot water went off and on at will. Eventually, we switched rooms. Good hotel for a short stay.

Food is expensive and Front desk are not hotel friendly. They don't understand the fact customers are always right. I parked my car outside due to not enough parking space, the next morning my window was broken and battery was gone.

The Best Western was a comfortable and convenient base for my short business trip. Location: The hotel is well-situated in Petionville; traffic is a challenge in Port-au-Prince, so nothing is really "close", but the location is reasonably convenient to major amenities and offices. Room: My room was good-sized and very clean. The a/c couldn't be adjusted easily, and I ended up unplugging it so I could warm up the room slightly. The free WiFi was mediocre. Although the room faced the street, I wasn't disturbed by noise. If you're sensitive to noise, specify a room on the side of the hotel that looks out toward the ocean. Food: A free breakfast is included, and it's quite basic - although I didn't order anything from the a la carte menu. Service: Staff members are professional and extremely friendly, and are the property's real standout. I liked the Best Western, and would recommend it to others.

"One of many trips to Haiti"

I have been to Haiti many, many times. A handful of those times we have stayed in hotels within Petionville. This is the first time we stayed at Best Western. And I must say overall we were very happy! First of all - the hotel staff is the hotel's best asset. Josue the doorman was very pleasant and helped in every way imaginable. He would catch the elevator for us, help us with bags, help us get into and out of our car (because of the traffic) etc. Chef Avi - upstairs restaurant - was amazing! He is an extraordinarily talented chef. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I would go back just to try more of his dishes! Styve our bartender at the terrace was the absolute best! He was very attentive and accommodating. He went above and beyond to get us what we wanted. He would offer suggestions (when asked) and his recommendations were always by far the best dishes/drinks. The only downfall are the following items - the pool is small and closes at 9. So it makes relaxing by the pool after a long day a bit of a challenge. It is also a bit noisy because of traffic. But it's Haiti - to be expected. If you are going to use the gym - make sure you ask the front desk to turn on the a/c. I didn't know that and it was like a sauna in there! The front desk staff are not very nice. Which is so weird because literally all the other staff are nicer than most places I have ever stayed! At least during my interactions with them, they were condescending and not super helpful. Again - so weird compared to everyone else! Overall we were super pleased with BW. The good far outweighed the not so good. Rooms were nice and clean. Housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping our room fresh. ***I hope management takes note of Styve, Chef Avi and Josue and acknowledge their exceptional service.

"Gym & Shuttle"

As I said on my last post I'll only post about hotels gym. That means that for the rest I had a great experience, but if something didn't like me, i'll write it; like this one. Gym: not that big but good for a smooth work out session. Suitable for a back, arms and shoulder training, not that much for chest and not an option for a leg day. The hotel offers a shuttle from and to the airport, I only needed to the airport. The thing is that that Thursday the shuttle had an appointment at the shop and they notify me the day before, bt didn't offer me a solution until I told them what to do. Also because I was running low on cash and had to charge the taxi to the room. At the end, my client took me to the airport..

"Awesome"

This is my second time staying at this hotel. The first time was late Dec.2017 to Jan.2018 and I was very pleased with my stay. The second time around on July 5th was no disappointment. They give you a delicious complimentary drink upon checking in in a flute glass (that's new). You need a key card to ride the elevator to access your floor (also new). My room was clean and cool. Their haitian hot cocoa is to die for, the omelet at breakfast was yummy. Staff I had exchange with was very polite. The hotel location is great too. Best western is definitely my go to hotel when I'm in Haiti from now on.

We booked a four nights stay at BWP for July 4 to July 8 2018. The welcome drink was refreshing and staff courteous. At check-in , the concierge claimed there is a $400.00 US on the credit card for incidental, which will be refunded if everything is fine. This was not disclose at booking. On July 6, 2018, we went for a day trip to a nearby town. Meanwhile, a social/political uprising erupted. They set the hotel entrance on fire, broke the front doors, and communication lines to the hotel were disrupted. I was also stranded in the town I was in due to roadblock and therefor, I needed to purchase hotel stay there. On July 8th, I sent someone to check me out at the BWP as scheduled. The manager deemed everything was fine. When I received my credit card statement, to my dismay the hotel at the audacity to bill me the $400.00 US incidental fee.

"World Cup Soccer Package 2018"

My friends bought packages to watch the soccer games at BWP at $82.50 per person(taxes incl) we were told package includes unlimited finger foods , beer, soft drinks, raffle games and prizes. All we ended up getting was the food and drinks when we inquired about the raffle games staff told us they don't intend on doing that day. I don't know if it was laziness on their part. When we asked to speak with the GM, couldn't find this inept person anywhere to report this. I don't understand owners keep hiring foreigners to run their hotels in Haiti who are not sensitive to their clientèle needs. We regretted purchasing this package next time we know better. In Haiti the concept of refunds in most establishments does not exists.

"One of the Top Hotels I've Stayed At"

Check in was smooth with a complementary drink. The room was spacious, bathroom was spotless. The breakfast was hands down the best breakfast I've ever had a hotel. I stayed at several different hotels while in Haiti during this trip. This was the last hotel and I wish it was the only one. This was not like a Best Western in the US. Excellent hotel!

"A mix of lovely and a mess"

This review is the tale of two hotels - one which is lovely and a great value; the other which is the story of disappointments and failure of management to either manage expectations or make amends. My two children and I arrived at 5 PM after a long day of travel. While checking in, I was surprised to learn there would be an extra fee for the children - I had specified on the reservation that I was bringing them, but apparently the room price was only for the adults; so I was charged $20 extra per child. This is a bit annoying since nothing is included other than the room - I understand an upcharge when there is breakfast included, but their simple presence should not cause an extra fee. OK, so off to an inauspicious start. As we waited for the check-in process (which seemed to take forever, maybe because of the extra charges?), I asked about whether there is a restaurant near the pool. There's not - the pool is tucked away in a small alcove off the lobby, with room around it only for a few chairs. It is very small - fine for toddlers, but anyone much older will be disappointed. But wait, you'll likely be even more disappointed when you learn there is no water in the pool! So there would be no swimming for any age. This was especially frustrating since we had chosen the Best Western over one of the many guest houses specifically so the kids could swim. When I called to the attention of the front desk staff that the pool was closed (why didn't they mention it to me?) I asked if there was another hotel nearby that might allow the kids to swim as a courtesy to the BW. Alas no, and also no reprieve would be given on the room rate, nor any other offer of sympathy. So we headed up to the room. Things are looking up; the room itself was lovely, clean, the wireless signal was excellent and the TV large and modern. The AC worked great, and the bellman was happy to assist with anything we needed. What I really needed now was a drink at the terrace bar, but guess what? The bar was closed for a private event! Although there was a flyer sent to our room stating the party would be happening, and that we would be allowed to enter by showing our room key, In fact, that was only later in the evening. At 7, when some local friends and I wished to enjoy the sunset outdoors, we were told we were unable to enter. We were shuffled into the interior restaurant, which was cramped and quiet, and I am confident the waitress was not happy when I told her we would not be ordering dinner. (She was quite pleasant after the initial disappointment). But we didn't miss out on the party completely, as we heard every bit of it until midnight from our room, which was apparently not far above the open air bar. After starting our travel early in the morning, I was looking forward to a restful night, but would need to wait until our next destination before that was possible. In the end, I guess it is all what you need in a hotel. I was looking for a pool, an outdoor bar, and a good night's sleep, so I finished 0-3. However, the AC and wireless worked well and the bed was comfortable, so it could have been much worse.

"Exceptionally Average"

Stayed here for 2 nights while in Petionville. This hotel is located in a great location and it felt safe walking around the area day and night by myself. There are many place to eat and drink near by all within walking distance. There is a large supermarket with everything you will find in the US only a block away. My room was large, clean, and as expected for a Best Western hotel. There was no refrigerator in my room and the included WiFi seemed to drop the connection often. The shower was hot but had very weak water pressure. The staff were professional but seemed very serious. My room was on the third floor and there was some event happening in the lounge on one of my nights on the second floor. It was very loud until late at night. Luckily I had ear plugs so I could get some sleep.The front desk didn't have any money for me for to exchange, but luckily there is a bank nearby. Overall, this place is just an average hotel by western standards but is probably one on the best in Haiti.

Pleasant staff and convenient location in PV make this hotel top class. All the basic amenities you would need are here, making it a pleasant place to stay. I've stayed here numerous times and I've stayed in other hotel in PAP too. BWP is doing it right and has figured out how to make it work in a sometimes difficult environment. Try the lunch menu at the restaurant - you'll be glad you did!

This was a great hotel option as a solo traveler. The onsite restaurant Le Michel offers some delicious food but the prices are somewhat expensive. The fish however, is a must try, get it grilled or fried, its awesome. The hotel staff was always smiling, friendly, attentive and accommodating. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within 2 miles but make sure you reserve it early or you will have to use regular taxi service. My room was very spacious and clean. The internet worked extremely well. Check in and check out was seamless, I didn't encounter any issues as a solo female traveler. There are cheaper food options in the area, check out Cinque Coins for fast authentic cheap Haitian cuisine not far from the hotel.

"Birthday Visit to Best Western Haiti"

First and foremost, i intentionally selected to spend my 36th birthday in Haiti and chose the Best Western Hotel which was nothing short of amazing! The staff was magnificent, the rooms were very nice and looked as they were shown on their website. Some of the staff that were very good to me were Samuel who was the Captain in the restaurant in the hotel. All food ordered was yummy and Samuel made it happen no matter what i requested. Gerald, Styve, Charles and Sanon all were superb bartenders that made me and my friends feel special and welcomed. The shuttle driver Harold was patient with us as well in taking us around for my birthday as requested. I'd definitely choose to stay there again and highly recommend it!

Haiti for me is like my trip to Cuba. I came with no expectations and they were all exceeded. From Davins meeting me outside of customs the hospitality and genuine smiles were ever present. Deborah, Alexandre, Paola and Myriame makes this property work. Gerald , who is the most aawesome spirit, is that he icing on the cake. Consistency is what I value. The service, attention to detail, and welcoming attitude is unmatched. Will be back, guaranteed!

This was my second trip to Haiti, first time staying at the Best Western Petion-Ville. From the views to the amenities to the quality of service, this place is top-notch. Spent a lot of time at the Whisky Bar, where Rood and Styve, along with the entire Bar/Restaurant staff, offered exceptional, attentive service, making this a truly memorable experience. Next time I visit Haiti, there is only one hotel I would consider staying, and this is the place.

I am in a wheelchair and often have to fight about the shower which does not provide the shower wheelchair or any way for a paraplegic to use the shower. This hotel went and found a wheelchair for me to use and it made all the difference. The staff went ALL OUT to assist, and I noticed they seemed top do it with all their guests. What an exceptional hotel If you go to Port Au Prince you much stay there. They have a shuttle to the airport for $25.00 so you don't have to spend $40.00 - $60.00, and will pick you up if you ask in advance and will take you there also.

I loved my stay here. From the bellman Fanfan to the bartenders Gerald and Steve. Great drinks offered, with grenadia and the G-Black. Honestly, everyone was more than willing to help and going an extra mile to make sure that I had everything I needed. The room was good and the hotel had typical Haitian food as well. The location was perfect for me, very close to my office and in the center of Petionville. I will be back.

"Awesome premises - subpar restaurant staff quality "

The performance of the restaurant staff was subpar and generally upsetting. They were disengaged, rude, and seemed selective as to which clients they attended. No one to greet people at the entrance at 7:45, the menu randomly appeared 15 min after I started eating, no one to give me the receipt after my meal. Now, don't get me wrong, BW continues to be our location of choice in Haiti for the professionalism of the front desk staff, the cleanliness of the premises, and the great location. Maybe, the staff at ‘Le Michel' were having a bad morning.

"Location,safe and comfy"

Grounds and Property: The property itself is well maintained and secured with armed officers. We received a welcome drink with cold washcloth which was a plus. I gave a 4 star because I was charged an extra person fee when I booked a double bed room and only had 3 ppl to the room. The front desk lady did not gave us clear explanation as to why we were being charged an extra person fee. Besides that the drink that was giving to us was tasty and made me return to the bar. The pool was small but nice and right next to the gym. We also used their shuttle to go nearby restaurants which was an added bonus. Rooms The rooms are very nice, there were small fridge. The bed was very comfortable and I had great sleep. I do recommend asking for extra washcloths and towels at check in as there weren't enough in the room and you wait awhile to get them. Bar and food: The food was not authentic and favors more American than Haitian taste. They had an outdoor bar/restaurant which was nice. At the front bar, we met the Supervisor, his name is Gerald, WOW!!! the hospitality we received from him made us want to return back to Best Western. He informed us about the (Le Michel “I think was the name”) bar which front desk failed to mention. Gerald was our therapist, bartender, info guy about Haiti, he spoke English,polite, respectful and funny. My brothers and I were visiting haiti to bury our mother and it was nice to meet someone like Gerald. We wanted to bring him back with us. We stayed at other hotels in Haiti and will say because of the service we received from Gerald, Best Western will definitely be on our list of hotel to stay at our return trip back to Haiti this year. I would suggest that Management consider playing Haitian music at night at the Le Michel restaurant. It is a nice space.

When the bartender (nice to sit outside with a cool breeze) takes your dinner order, and it comes out just the way you wanted it, what more can your ask for. Thank you Rood and everyone else on the outside terrace, whether it was breakfast or dinner, I always felt like I had either a new friend, or a renewal of friendship with a handshake. Rood listened to my recommendation/slight food complaint on an order, remembered the next night, and made sure my dinner was perfect. Thanks!!! The staff at the hotel (front desk, cleaning crew) are what make me want to come back to the Best Western in Pretion Ville. If only the Best Western's in the US were as customer oriented! The gym is functional. I like to workout, but a bit too much like a sauna. The internet is touch and go, it best works on the terrace. So that is why I sent so many nights there! Thanks again for a great visit.

I recently came to Haiti to celebrate my brothers 21st birthday and decided to stay at this property because of its location and great reviews. My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff was excellent, and welcoming. Upon arrival they helped my parked my car (free parking ) got our bags, took us to the front desk and gave us rum punches while i checked in. The views from my room ( I had 2 queen beds) was great . Bathroom was nice. Safe and fridge, pretty much all the amenities you would find in the states. The hotel was well guarded by security guards, I felt very safe throughout my stay. Also, there is a big super market 1 or 2 blocks up the road, I believe it's called Giant Supermaket and they have everything and you can exchange money ( USD ) there for Haitian Gourdes. The only thing that I was curious about was after they turned down the room, they never gave us new towels.. in fact, I don't mind re-using my towels to save water but even though my used towels were hung up on the rack, after a long day touring we noticed we were left with no towels at all. We just had to ask housekeeping everyday for towels. Other than that, we had a wonderful time.

The hotel was really nice. We thought it was very affordable. The people and staff were very friendly. Our only complaint is that the check-in process was a little slow due to lack of communication amongst the staff. Also, the food and drinks in the restaurant was too expensive.

"Best Value for your money in Petion Ville"

1. LOCATION! LOCATION! it is right in the heart of Petion Ville! Right across is a bank. A block away are amazing bar/restaurants and 2 blocks away is a big supermarket. 2. Value for money. Great on site amenities including an outdoor pool, gym, spa, business center, parking. 3. Beautifully designed rooms with some of them with balconies offering city views. Bed is firm and comfortable. Contemporary modern designs and very efficient toilet with separate toilet/shower from the sink. 4. Free sumptuous buffet breakfast at an outdoor setting. 5. Great working reliable free WIFI. 6. Most staff speaks/understands good English. Staff are also very courteous and accommodating. Deborah at the reception desk was very helpful with all my questions. 7. Hotel bar/restaurant (Le Michele) is open 24hrs! They also have banquet halls that can host private events. 8. They arrange transport/guides to different destinations in or out of the city. 9. They have enough security and i always felt safe. 10. Total atmosphere just makes you feel at home.

I wanna say thank you to Miriame cause she's always on point on everything at the front desk and she really know what she's doing ????????????????????.I spent a lot of night from February 5th to 14th at best western in Petionville recently and really enjoyed my stay there. Check in was quick and room was clean.For breakfast and found it had sufficient choices and satisfying. Had lunch at the restaurant , good food and fast service. I would stay again at Best western in Petion ville as the price was right and I liked the location for being close to,everything I wanted.

the hotel is located in the " SAFE " neighborhood,Petionville...Although,if you going out ,in my case ,I went to a super market ,one block away from the hotel,i never felt so important,the hotel provided me a car with a driver,he wait for me at the parking lot of the super market and drove me back to the hotel....definitely Haiti is not a safe place to be..the hotel is super expensive for what they offer.

I was staying in Best Western for the Haitian carnival, poor service, horrible food, but I was comfortable, clean, but the employees are not professionals, maybe they are not going to hotel school.. only one employee deserves the job. she's great and professional, She's name Myriam.... keep going little girl. I have been staying at the Best western Premier in Petion Ville since 2014 and what keeps me coming back is the amazing customer service and professionalism of the staff. I have made other stays at the Marriott, Royal oasis, Le Plaza Hotel, all good places, but there is something special about best western, a sense of home comfort that I get there, not found in others. I took my kids to Haiti last summer and stayed a week there. I just returned again after a 2week stay there and looking forward to my next stay. Thanks to Cassandra, Vallencia and all the other staff at the hotel. You Guys are the BEST!!!!

This hotel is very clean and comfortable with fluffy pillows and comforters. The customer service is good and the restaurant has good food and service. There is no smell of smoke in the rooms and it is very quiet considering it is located in the heart of Part Au Prince

We made a reservation and still had to wait like two hours to get our room, i really didn't that at all. abd i don't like the fact that anybody can just come up to your room without any approval. Cassandra was the sweetest girl i ever met, she work at front dest.

The salad was good. The restaurant was lightly occupied. The staff stood around doing their own thing and I had to wave them down twice, and jump up once to get someone's attention. When my plate was finally cleared, the waiter left my empty glass and soda can. Small beer perhaps, but enough to warrant a comment.

I was with a group of medical missionaries for 10 days. Our last night we stayed here before flying back to the US. It was so wonderful to be able to take a hot shower and experience air conditioning! The motel is beautiful, clean and modern!!! The view from the restaurant/bar's balcony is breath taking!!! All the registration staff and servers spoke English. The motel is a diamond in the rough!!!!

Really, more money for the same room and during the week not even the weekend. The paint was peeling off the walls in room #718 and there was crack developing on the walls.i think this potentially damaging to your brand.

My stay was productive as I could walk to a few places from this centrally located and comfortable hotel. Had a great breakfast too and enjoyed the outdoor seating offered at the restaurant providing a nice view. For art lovers there's much art to ponder. This hotel is easy to find, and is just steps from Place Boyer, Giant supermarket and many restaurants.

As always another great stay> I have stayed in Best Western hotels from Nice, France to San Diego, CA, and this is the very best of them all. In fact it is equal to any of the BIG nae brands. The management and staff, are always ready and happy to please. I work in the Caribbean islands. When I m in Haiti I every time prefer this Hotel. The positions is perfect. The staff is marvellous and the quality price balance is incredible . The standards of this Hotel are even better than in europe. The food at the restaurant are amazing . The local dishes are really well served and the taste is fantastic. My staying at best western was wonderful, the hotel was nice and the front desk was excellent. The room was clean and spacious and I highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely go back. The only things I did not like is the breakfast.

This was my first time staying at best western and it did not disappoint. I upgraded to a junior suit and it was worth every cent. I enjoyed the rooftop restaurant and would recommend the burger. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly, from the bell boy to the shuttle driver that took me to the airport. My only wish is that I stayed another night so that I could use the pool and enjoy more of the beautiful facilities. This is the cleanest hotel I have stayed in within port-au-prince, very modern and has a luxurious feel without the high price tag.I would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Best Western Premier Twice in less than a year and the service is above the excellence. They set the standard of quality in customer service from the doorman , security guard, front desk, waiters, spa the entire staff works together to make you feel like `Lakay se lakay`` I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable environment , safe and very nice hotel. The food is also amazing !!!

I had a great time at best western. I love the hotel and the people. I'd like to take this time and give a huge shout to Styve, he was one of the bartenders at the bar. His service was just wonderful, he made me feel at home. He wasn't just doing his job but he went above and beyond to make sure me and my family was satisfied. I can say that Styve made my stay there even better. However only thing I dislike about the hotel is that they don't really their no-smoking policy serious. Overall I enjoyed my stay at best western premier petion-ville.

I would stay over and over, it is a modern space in the Caribbean. Small Hotel but cozy. The staff made me feel like family. I would use the board room again and again it was just what i needed for my litlle group.

"A good place to stay"

The hotel is in the up-market suburb of Petionville. It is a business-standard place and is very new having been built after the disastrous earthquake. The reception are has a bar but, while one is waiting, there is a free rum punch dispenser which is an unusual and welcome touch. Reception was friendly and French- and English-speaking. Efficient lifts take one to well-equipped bedrooms which are spacious with very comfortable beds. The Whisky Bar and restaurant is on a very pleasant terrace which is open sided although one can eat inside. Service is excellent and the range of food is good if not outstanding. It is risky to walk outside at night so one must eat in or get a taxi. The inclusive breakfasts were good. We stayed there twice and my only complaint was that on both occasions, when we had pre-paid the room, the check-out guy tried to charge me again for the room. They need to deal with this! We would stay again.

Experience at the hotel was not the friendliest one. I paid too much for 3 days even with a discount plan. I would recommend as that towels should be replace immediately once it is taken out the suit. It took over 3 hours to get fresh towels once it was taken

"Horrible Service"

My family spent two nights at this hotel the week going into Thanksgiving before heading off to a resort.The only good service was at the restaurant on the second floor. The driver was over an hour late picking my family and I up from the airport. He didn't apologize or explain why he was late. We called the hotel about 3 times before the man showed up. Once he loaded our luggage in the car he decided that wanted to use the bathroom. No sir - you're on our time. Not only will you not use the bathroom but you have the hotel's van parked in the middle of the parking lot with 4 women and at least a dozen male hustlers just standing around. Once we did arrive to the hotel the gentlemen at the front desk was nonchalant as well. The bellhop Pierre, was probably the only employee whom we enjoyed! He was extremely pleasant! I wouldn't recommend anyone staying here unless you want to be close to everything. Go to the resorts.

"Worst Hotel Stay Ever!"

My family stayed there the weekend before Thanksgiving and this has to be the absolute WORST hotel stay we've ever had. We booked through Booking.com who, in addition to myself, has also reached out to the the Best Western several times about the issues below. They have decided to not respond to either us...which is very telling. First, their driver was 1.5 hours late picking us up from the airport. When we arrived, no one acknowledged it or apologized. The had the nerve to still charge us $176 for the transfer from the airport. Second, when we got to our room, the bathroom was dirty. There was hair in the sink. Third, our key cards were not working. After a long day in the city, we couldn't even relax because there were two men in our room for over an hour trying to fix the sensor on the door. Fourth, the WiFi wasn't working in the entire hotel. Fifth, and finally, the reservation confirmation that I have says that check-out is at 4pm. Someone from your staff called me at 12:15pm to say that my confirmation was wrong at that I had to be out by 1pm. I called customer service from Booking.com and they told me that check-out is at 4pm and that it is the hotel who provides them with check-in/check-out info. They called the hotel and spoke to someone who also told them that I needed to be out by 1pm.

Pertaining to the internet please note this was due to the issues pertaining to power grid failure. Locks and key sensors basically work on the basis of formulated board panels,electrical panels are near to the guest door once they leave it automatically shuts downs,to save on electricity and key lock sensors..They need to be activated via the front desk by just calling them up. Pertaining to keys cards we would look into this issue,sorry for the inconvenience that it has caused you. Pertaining to your checkout time it all depends on the information mentioned passed at the time of booking,as you booked via a third party. The checkout normally happens 12:00 pm for third party website bookings,we do not guarantee late checkout,for it all depends on availability. We enjoyed a two queen bedroom at best western this past May. The room was a decent size and had all the amenities expected of this type of room. The hotel is in good condition and I was impressed by the décor for a room in this price range. The bed was comfortable and I appreciate the fact that the room windows were able to be opened slightly. The afternoon happy hour on the patio was very nice and we found the pool to be relaxing in the evening. The hotel is walking distance to a grocery store/market just up the hill. I found all the staff to be professional and courteous. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

"Poor overall experience"

Our group has been coming to Haiti for over a year and have been staying with another hotel in the area. We chose to give Best Western a try based on comments from others. Disappointed doesn't even express how we felt about our stay. The daytime front desk staff were nice and friendly, which is the extent of my compliments. I cannot say as much for the night front desk staff - less than friendly when called for towels/water. Our reservation was for three adults and all checked-in at the same time; however, we had to request towels multiple times because they consistently left two in the room over our four day stay. The hotel rooms were nice, but the beds are very hard. The restaurant staff is clearly not trained with customer service in mind - the wait time to be greeted by the staff was between 10 - 15 minutes, wait time for dinner was approximately 30 minutes each night, we had to request napkins and repeatedly look for or signal the waitstaff for assistance and the bill. If you don't intent to eat at the hotel, it's an ok place to stay for short trips, but overall the level of customer service compared to the other major hotels in Haiti is lacking.

This hotel exceeded my expectations... great location, excellent staff and services... I've only good things to say about my stay... Ok, overall: check in and check out were a breeze... everything in order... very nice, recently refurbished and close to nice restaurants in Petionville.. A very convenient shuttle that takes you for free anywhere within 1 mile... including supermarket and restaurants... Resstaurant food was great and they have room service... but if you like a nice view they also have a terrace... Hotel has a pool, a gym and nice reading area...charming ambiance... Internet worked great during my entire stay and it's free Rooms: good size, have a safe, nice toiletries and bathrooms recently updated. Yes room has a small fridge, hair dryer and coffee maker... Loved the detail of getting chocolates every night! Oh, make sure to enroll in their loyalty plan! Had a great stay.. Thanks...

"Excellent Customer Service"

This is by far the best Hotel when it comes to customer service in Haiti. There was no pretentious going on. The staff never pretended to only speak French. Overall it was really good and that Rum punch in the lobby area is delicious. Everyone was friendly.

Early this month I was there to visit my boyfriend. I had an amazing time. The staff were wonderful and professional. I want to say a special thank you to Marie Chimene Pierre Michel who helped me through all the process. It was a pleasure to meet her in person, she has a beautiful soul and her level of professionalism was amazing. Food , services was great , the room was very clean and omg my bed felt so comfy. My better half and I had an blast. The very best part of it , my boyfriend gave me a promise ring to me during our photo shoot session we had over there. It was a priceless moment, I will never forget my time over there . Overall it was a wonderful experience, I will definitely return and recommend everyone to choose you guys for their stay. "Another amazing visit"

This was my fourth trip to Haiti in the past 2 years, and third time staying at the Best Western Premier in Petionville. As with my previous visits, the service and atmosphere was impeccable. The staff always makes me feel like home and go out of their way to accommodate any request. I'd especially like to recognize my bellman Duce Fanfan who always greets me at the door and welcomes me to the hotel with a warm smile and lots of jokes. Also many thanks to Chimene in the front office who helped me with my reservation and made sure the driver was at the airport to get me promptly. One could never go wrong by staying at this hotel in the heart of Haiti.

"I still love staying there!"

Recently, I've stayed again, as I most often do when I travel to Haiti. This hotel, is still my favorite, because it caters and understand the clients that it serves.... And that is, awesome customer service. The front desk are still doing an awesome job along with the managers to give a great welcome, and satisfy their customers the best that they could. Even the doormen, are very friendly, always willing and able to open your door for you with a smile and carry your bags to your car or room. Just excellent service. Even when things do not go as smoothly, as in reservation problems and that was my case recently, and also, it took for ever to check me out... The service, the apologies, and the accommodation from the entire team, made it all worth it. The Hotel, is still very well kept and the rooms are very clean and well kept as well. I would love to see , breakfast already included in the price for members!

I have the worst experience ever this garbage does not qualify to be a best Western before I arrived at this property I have a package clearly stated how much I was going to pay upon arriving at the hotel they decide how much I should pay instead after numerous amount of phone calls to best Western corporate office best Western advice the hotel to honor the rate that was agreed upon first the hotel still proceeded to post fraudulent charges to my bank account my advice to anyone who wish to stay in this property please use a third-party website where you can prepaid your reservation do not let this hotel get hold of your credit card or debit card information I spend my two days in this hotel fighting these charges the man and woman of this property work very hard and I would have love to give them the best review but unfortunately I cannot recommend somewhere that I would never stay again even if it's free my billing information is attached be the judge the first night 182 the second night 0.00 package total 192

The staff was welcoming and friendly. The hotel was clean. I didn't have any issue with checking in or checking out. I wish breakfast was included in the price but thats ok. They have a restaurant on site. The food there was great but a little bit pricey. I will definitely recommend. and the beds were extra comfy.

"BWP going downhill "

This hotel with its beautiful art decor is going downhill since the departure of General Manager Ronald Maidens. My stay this time was so disappointing I must say I won't be returning, the current GM doesn't acknowledge guests at all, I guess he feels above that. He was probably coerced to send a welcome note as VIP guests. I couldn't even get an extra complimentary bottle water without being reminded that there is a two water bottles limit per day. The Wifi was terrible in both room and restaurant areas. I am sure the hotel lost a lot of regular guests it would be smart for the owners to put a GM in place that models Mr. Maidens impeccable hospitality- style ( he knew how to treat guests, made you feel so comfortable that you didn't want to leave the hotel). The Staff services is what kept me from checking out the next day I want to acknowledge the Bellman gentlemen always smiling, helpful and courteous: Desir Robert, Edouard Junior from Food and Beverage, Nayalèe Fèdorah, to Front Desk, Marie Esther Bossa also the Shuttle Driver, Jules Jean Dovinks, who made sure I was comfortable and safe in the van. A property may appear beautiful but without the proper foundation in place it will fall apart.

This hotel is excellent. For the star level and price you can not beat it. It is like having a 5 star hotel at a 3 star price. Don't go cheap. Spend the extra bucks and stay at the best. Any other hotel in this price range will be a big let down. Just trust me and try it. You will thank yourself.

Let me just say that Best Western exceeded my expectations 10 TIMES OVER!..... I checked in August 10th and checked out August 15, 2017. First I would like to start off with the EXCELLENT customer service from checking in... Esther at the front desk is a professional and beautiful person inside and out... We New Yorker's tend to be a bit high strung and fast paced... Esther was so PATIENT with me with a SMILE.... I would like to shout out the Bell Men and the Men who opened the doors for me to enter and exit the hotel.... They did it with GRACE and a SMILE and willing to go up above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable. (Unfortunately I had a list of names written that I can't find at the moment) Now Let me just say - The unlimited coffee and cream downstairs is THE BEST.... Christela and Roody made sure I got my fix just how I like it - they definitely took god care of me..... and called me by name. Now the food and the bar on the terrace was MY SPOT! I felt so at home with DELICIOUS Authentic Creole food and the drinks were OMAZING!!! Steshion my Dude knows how to make a cocktail..... Steshion is a great person.... very reserved with a smile to make sure that all the clients are HAPPY!!!!!!! Further, Steve, Fedorah (that Fedorah - lovely personality with a great smile... very professional... she is a star)..... Steve and Marc-Arthur took very good care of me.... made sure I kept smiling and happy with excellent customer service. To add to all my happiness - I got a GREAT workout... the gym had all the essentials for a great work out and most of all it was VERY CLEAN!!!!!!!!!! Working AC, Towels, water, and a flat screen TV.... what more does a gym rat need................. Afterwards, I went to the SPA..... OMG with no exaggeration LINDA, the masseuse, gave me one of the BEST massages I have had in my entire life.... and for me to say this is HUGE.... I have had massages practically on a regular in NY and when I travel... LINDA got it - she is PURE TALENT.... this is simply her CRAFT and TALENT!!!! Linda massaged every tension and knot in my body without an explanation from me.... and a cross-fit client she did me justice... LINDA YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!! And lastly - to one of the BEST humans and Leaders - Mr Colin Borthwick. Colin is the definition of a GREAT LEADER. In life it is not that simple to find good human beings and the definition of leadership in a person. I must say Colin is one of those people. Colin added an exceptional touch to my stay... the moment you get inside they make you feel you are going to have some good quality of time.front desk agents are very nice always smiling. the men and women had great customer service skills from security to housekeeping. I was in room 311 it was very nice neat and clean, the breakfast was okay because they did not have spaghetti (lol) the passion fruit juice did not have sugar at all .so far so good

"Overcharged Hundreds of Dollars"

After staying at this Best Western for about three weeks in June-July, the hotel owed me a refund which has still not been resolved more than five weeks later. The hotel charges your credit card in full up front rather than at check out, so they ended up owing me about $160 in a refund as I stayed one night fewer than originally planned. They assured me the refund would be sent to my account within 15 days. After 15 days passed and I did not receive the refund I contacted the hotel and was continually assured the bank was working on it. On Friday Best Western told me their bank had confirmed the refund had been made but when I checked my account, Best Western had CHARGED ME THE AMOUNT THEY OWED ME. So now I am owed double the original amount and have to begin a dispute process with my bank. While the hotel was of decent quality, it was not worth the hassle I am now dealing with and the risk of potentially losing my money so I recommend staying somewhere else. I will update this if the problem gets resolved.

My visit here at the BW hotel was good but for an American Hotel I expected more from them. I made a reservation for 3pm and didn't receive my room until 5:15pm. I greatly enjoyed the service at the bar and the restaurant; the men and women had great customer service skills. Management? Not too great . The prices on food, drinks etc is ok. They also had an ac leak on 2 or 3 floors, which hopefully they change the carpet. If not, mold will start to grow and it's not good to breathe that in. Overall it was a good experience. They just need a little more structure being that it is an American hotel.

Every time I come back to this hotel, I feel like I'm coming home... From the welcome drink to the comfy bed, the genuinely friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, everything is just great. In a country where few things function properly, it's nice to come here for a relaxing, hassle-free tiny vacation.

The general manager of this hotel has no customer service training. He does not know how to speak to customers. I am very disturbed that BW allows this guy to manage this hotel. The music at whisky bar is too loud and they played rap music with a lot of swearing that was also distasteful. You have to beg to get a napkin, and some type of sauce when you order a meal. The manager told me that It's ok if I don't choose to stay here again. Will never set foot in this hotel again.

Every time that I stay at the hotel is a very good experience. I feel at home and I have access to all that I need, Bussiness Center, GYM, Restaurant.... and the personel is very kind and helpful. (Edouard, Junior, Robert, Desir). It's very good located, near by there's a super market Giant, restaurants and others comercials locals.

I spent 4 nights at Best Western and everything was perfect. Check in was seamless, the room was quite modern and cozy, the staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure went smoothly. The bellman, Robert Desir was absolutely wonderful! It was a pleasure to see him every morning. He is very knowledgeable about the country and gave us a lot of information and advice. He was always very pleasant. The food was excellent! From the griot and carbit, to the chicken teriyaki at Asian night, everything was delicious. The turn down service was a welcome treat; as were the chocolate kisses that they left each evening. I will definitely be staying here when I return to Haiti.

Visited Port au Prince for the first of many visits to assist with a mission-related construction project. We were all put up at the Best Western Premier and I found the experience exceptional. Beautiful and well cared for, with wonderful local art throughout. Delicious food and drink and an attentive and friendly staff, especially Camana at the desk, Eduard Junior and Desir Robert at the door, and Colin and his team in dining are first rate. I look forward to my next visit with them all!

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. the staff was very helpful and courteous. we enjoyed a welcome drink, and dined here for most meals during our stay. our children enjoyed the pool here. the staff ensured our safety, and helped us navigate getting around town easily as our drivers. the location of this hotel is in the middle of town, and it's hard to believe such a luxuriously appointed hotel is in this area.

I have been traveling to Haiti for business over the past 15 years and this is the first time I stayed at the Best Western in Petion-Ville. The hotel is modern, the rooms are nice, the food at the restaurant was very good and the people that work there were very nice and friendly. I felt safe. They had free wifi in your room and in the common areas of the hotel. The only issue I experienced was they were having a little issue with their elevators, but that was fixed within a day or 2.

This hotel is without much charm but it is a sure value. It is well located near a supermarket (up the street) and is clean. Housekeeping service can be slow on the pick-up but the delivery is good: I had my laundry done (very expensive) and it came back the same day which is great because I was supposed to be there for four days and ended up staying three weeks. The pool is really small but refreshing and clean. The gym was under temporary renovation but the machines work well; it's not too hot. The second floor restaurant is nicely cooled down if you want to eat inside but the terrasse is fun; service is good and Marcellin (the eldest of the waiters in the morning) is always pleasant and wanting to please. That is the case of most staff at the restaurant. In spite of attempts at varying the menu at night, it becomes monotonous; I wish they'd offert the lunch fare at night as well! The AC in the rooms can be either noisy or not very effective (I lived both).

Once again another great stay, this is the only place as far as I am concerned to stay while in Port Au Price, Haiti. From the owners to the cleaning staff and EVERYONE, in between, they are the best and give fantastic customer service. There are extremely welcoming and friendly from the moment you step in the door. Don't waste your time looking for a place to stay, this will become your home while in Port Au Prince. For a real treat, have a drink at the Lobby Bar, with the bartender Rood, he is the most fantastic bartender/hotel employee, I have ever had the please to meet.

Business landed me in Port-au-Prince and luckily Best Western Petion-Ville was my home for the day. Talk about 5 star service. The staff were extremely professional and welcoming and kind. I told the bellman I could definitely handle my luggage and he said 'please, we want you to be relaxed here, I'll handle everything for you from this point forward' He was very sweet, asked if the temperature of the room was ok and begged me to please reach out if I think of anything I need. 20 min later there was a knock at my door and he handed me a very nice gift bag with a welcome latter, one of their signature (and delicious) cookies and a sheet to pick out two amenities and they would deliver it at your leisure. I had wine and a cheese plate which were both delicious. I wanted to take some photos and visit the local market outside and per my companies request they asked that I do not wander the streets alone. I spoke with Desir Robert and Edouard Junior who were the amazing bell staff and one of them escorted me to where I had to go along with security!! The two of them were fabulous- always smiling and it felt very genuine. Vallencia Beauge, front desk supervisor, assisted with with transportation to and from the airport with an amazing driver (so sorry I forget his name!) and she also checked me into the hotel and she was wonderful. The rooms are fabulous! My view was spectacular of both the ocean, mountains and the town. I left my window open to hear the sounds of Haiti and it did not disappoint. There was a church near by and you could hear many people singing and worshiping. At night there was beautiful music and the sound of car horns which I love (city sounds are my thing) Thank you all so much! I get like a VIP for sure!! This hotel is highly recommended. Make sure you taste the local rum with fresh squeezed papaya juice! UNREAL!!!

Lovely hotel with very courteous staff and comfortable accommodations. It is located near parks, restaurants and grocery stores that are within walking distance. They also provide a free hotel shuttle that will take you where you need to go within a 5 mile radius. Farther trips will require payment of a small fee. The spa offers a list of massages, etc for an awesome price. My friend got a spa pedicure that was absolutely amazing! There were 3 staff members who I must recognize for making our hotel stay absolutely phenomenal. The doorman, Pierre Richard Joseph, restaurant waiter Pierre Marcelin and shuttle bus driver Hector. These men were courteous and sweet our entire stay, going above and beyond to make sure my friends and I got what we needed. Thank you so much!

Nice hotel and nice people. The whole staff is very helpful -- special note to Duce Fanfan and all my helpful friends in the lobby. The hotel is clean, the pool is nice and well maintained, and the restaurant is quite good with a nice view. It's also close to the grocery store and other activities. This is a very good option for American travelers.

We were so positively impressed by our experience at BW Premier Petion Ville. A few highlights: clean premises, friendly and dedicated staff, high quality breakfast, and finally location ... location ... location. An added touch was the free shuttle that made checking out the important spots in Petion Ville a breeze. While not a family focused hotel, our 3 year old toddler was plenty entertained with the pool, the sincere attention from the beautiful ladies at the front desk, and the small but enjoyable and well maintained pool. My wife and I agreed that we'll put the BW a step higher that the Marriott where we found the service while reasonable, impersonal and not consistent. We'll definitely come back to Best Western the next time we're in town.

This was a good experience overall. All of the public and private areas were great looking and well appointed. The prices of the food and drink were somewhat inflated, but the quality was good. The internet was merely decent. Wifi strength was only adequate in places, and the bandwidth barely supported video streaming. The staff was great and the manager seemed attentive to all of our needs.

We just returned from our second visit to Best Western Premier Petionville and it was just like returning home. We were welcomed with a cold refreshing drink and Chimene at the front desk made checking-in a breeze. Our room was ready and the air condition was just what we needed after a long trip. I just love their attention to detail and the room is just so clean and fresh. I love the chocolate kisses at bed time so special. Later that evening we went to dinner at the Le Michel restaurant and the service, food and ambiance was wonderful. Our server Pierre Jackson and Samuel really helped us to make our meal choices by explaining the menu, please try the chicken wings with the Banne Peze, Fried Ockra and that spicy Piklis and the Jan Jan Rice. I love Haitian Cuisine and I looked forward to the smiling faces of our servers and to learn a little about Haiti. Pierre Jackson really took the time to make our dining experience special and it was really appreciated. Our five night stay was a culilinary experience and the drinks are great. My compliments to the General Manager Tamara Magloire, who we had the pleasure of meeting for running such a Top Notch hotel and for having such a great staff. We are looking forward to our third visit.

Hotel staff is truly great, friendly and accommodating. Lobby nice, rooms stylish enough, everything works well especially the airco and great to have a small fridge. This is my 3rd state at the Best Western in Haiti. The service is always excellent . Great location not to bad with traffic which is normal in Haiti. Close to my favorite Haitian bakery . They have great happy hour and the food is amazing .The rooms are super comfy and clean . I truly recommend this hotel for business or leisure .

This was my second time here in about a year. This time was worst than first. Last April when I was here, there was no hot water. This time in August of the following year....same problem. Taking cold showers should not be the standard. Last year I complained about hotel staff entering my room without permission. This time a year later in August, 11:45 pm, I'm in my room buck naked and a technician just opens the door and comes in. I reported this to the front desk who said he went to the wrong room for maintenance. Very alarming especially when crime and kidnapping are common. Service is very poor. They charge you an "extra" energy fee which they require cash and it's not your hotel bill. I'm not sure who in the shadows that this fee goes to but it feels like extortion. I paid $400 for my two rooms for one night. Lunch cost me $200 for two people. (Burgers, wings, and two drinks a piece). My complaints were not addressed adequately. They offered to give me the $10 extortion fee back and refund my breakfast which was $50 for steak and eggs and French toast. I declined their weak gesture. Instead requested a shuttle to Karibe Hotel which is where I am now. Karibe is my hotel of choice in Haiti. Best Western lures you in because you think since they charge the most in Haiti, they must be the best. They are actually worst. As I see the reviews on the page, I wonder who really wrote them. I am just thankful for the shuttle they gave me to change hotels.

The staff here were really what made staying here so nice. They are SO friendly and helpful. The hotel has a quaint little pool and also a fitness center, which is fantastic for a hotel in PaP, since it's pretty hard to get much exercise out and about in the city. It has a lovely outdoor terrace bar and restaurant. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, and they also have a fridge, which is handy. Definitely a chain hotel, but it has everything you could need and its location is fantastic too - a block from Giant Supermarket and Place Boyer, where there are some great restaurants, in particular Quartier Latin, which is lovely.

Everything is as good as you would expect from an international chain hotel, but there are definitely cheaper options (in the same area!) that are just as good - not only other chain brands, but also individual local hotels. If you are on a budget but still decide to stay here, then book online as prices are lower, and go out to eat as the hotel restaurant is rather pricey (and really not that great considering the things you can find around). Other than that, no complaints though - very comfortable and clean, great service, friendly staff, well located in the heart of Petionville near many restaurants and supermarkets... the list goes on.

Rooms were modern, spacious and comfortable. Loved the pillows. Food was great but a bit pricey. Ice was ok to consume which was a plus, given that this is a third world country. You get better prices by booking online, even if you are extending an existing stay. Staff spoke English which was definitely a plus. Even Bellmen were courteous and helpful. Robert Desir was particularly attentive when we were checking out. Gave us great tips about where to go, shop and change money. Would definitely stay there again.

The location of the hotel is excellent for seeing Haiti. Lots of fascinating galleries around as well as restaurants. The Giant Supermarket just a few blocks away is convenient for longer stays.

I travel a great deal and this the worst hotel I have ever experienced. I am also a retired University Professor in Tourism & Hospitality. I was in Port-Au-Prince to help build playgrounds for traumatized children, so I was looking for a place to relax when not in the field. My problems began before I ever set foot in Haiti. I called to make shuttle reservations before I left the U.S. I received an email informing me that the shuttle does not operate on Sundays (even though the website says that it also available). I had to rely on a Haitian friend, even though he had to leave his family on Mother's Day. When I got to my room I found a large puddle of water in my room. The maintenance person cleaned up the water, however I asked for a new new room. I was moved to a room directly under the room I was in previously. There was a puddle of water in this room, however I did not want to move again. So I used a towel to wipe up the water. I then decided to relax with a swim, however I was informed that the pool was closed. When I reported my experience to the front desk the manager sent me note with list of items which I could choose from to take care of misfortunes; this included a free coffee or a bottle of water or fruit of the day, etc.. I was offended by these tokens. The staff for the most part tried, especially internet fixer, Robert Desir, however the hotel needs a total makeover and does not designation of Premier

I have nothing but good things to say about my stay at Best Western Petion Ville. The staff is professional. Service came always with a smile. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable. The food was good and reasonably priced. The portions were more than I could eat. The decor is pleasant.

I would probably be harsher, but the hotel is OK given the operating and logistical challenges it must have to overcome to survive in Haiti. My room was spacious and clean and fairly quiet. The A/C was reliable and there was a good supply of hot and cold water. The bed was pretty comfortable. I also got strong Wifi service in my room. The hotel was a welcome respite from the complete chaos in the surrounding area. I had been told that Pietonville was a more affluent part of Port-au-Prince and it certainly was. But it is by no means a nice or relaxing area in which to stay. The hotel is surrounded by several busy roads, and walking is difficult and downright dangerous. There were no real restaurants to speak of in the immediate area, so I ended up eating dinner in the hotel's restaurant every night. The food was mostly average, no better or worse than you would find at an Olive Garden (although the pasta Alfredo with grilled lobster was delicious, but it may have made me sick the next day), but I was taken aback by the New York-level prices. There was also, somewhat incongruously, a modern Giant supermarket a few blocks away. It was cleaner and nicer than most supermarkets in New York! The one major issue I had was with the toilet - it barely flushed. Also, I saw a few roaches in my room. Like I said, I could be more critical but given the conditions in the country, the hotel was really not bad.

The Best Western in PV used to be a better-than-average place to stay, but no longer. The hotel is falling apart at the seams and is in need of a clean up and corrective maintenance. Even the staff's uniforms need replacement. The food has gotten worse. The only redeeming feature is the general professionalism of the staff.

The hotel itself was just a hotel. Nothing fancy but very comfortable. A little bit pricey. The staff was very helpful. The only thing I did not like was the fact that the staff thought that they saw money when we (Americans) walked into the hotel and had requested that we pay at check in. Once we got that ironed out that we were not going to do that because payment was due upon check out; it was good from there. The hotel did not have enough towels to accommodate our daily usage. Other than that the hotel stay was a good one. I especially enjoyed the hotel restaurant. We stayed at the hotel for 8 days and the waiters and chefs got to know us very well. They had memorized parts of our orders. The food was expensive but entirely worth every penny. We got to know the staff by name!! Dume the chef is a great cook. Pierre, Jean-Luc and Sam; our waiters were the best there. Keep up the good work guys!!! We shall return...

At first I thought this was a dream hotel for Haiti. It's beautiful. The pool is clean. The beds are comfy and all the staff seemed nice. That is until we booked for a second night. Jennifer at the front was rude and she wouldn't honor the price we booked online. She overcharged us $10 and refused to change it. Then to make matters worse she ran my credit card twice! I was charged twice for one night. When I called back and spoke with the manager they state they don't have any records of this and won't reverse the charge. I have called multiple times, sent emails and they won't do a damn thing. Complete fraud! I have my credit card company involved now. Such a shame. This place was somewhere I would have liked to return, but the fact they won't take responsibility for their mistake or reverse my double charge makes me want to never return and to warn all others!!!!

We spent the holiday here and checked in for one night(good thing). Bathrooms are clean and same with the room but the water supply wouldnt give you time to finish your bath. Water ran out like every time we took a shower. Swimming pool is clean but small. Customer service is very very poor, they'd even take your change if you don't count it. Spa is very expensive and the masseur doesnt know what she's doing. Overall, very bad experience. I dont suggest going here ever for the very expensive price.

Stayed here after a long trip because it was closer airport . We got in super late and were really cranky but Hotel front made checking in super easy and fast . they even called all the rooms in the morning when our drivers was panicking because none of us woke up . they arranged shuttles for those that were and breakfast amazing . The multi-lingual staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Alexandre always went out of his way to strike up a friendly chat an see if there was anything I needed. Tamara Magloire and the rest of the staff hosted a wonderful social hour and made sure everyone felt at home. Housekeeping was always courteous and prompt and the turndown service was a nice touch. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. I stayed at BW premier on and off on a 2 week business trip and the view from the front rooms are much better than those in back. The free Wifi is adequately fast for business use and the Terrace café/bar is a nice setting to meet with business clients. The only problem I encountered was that the airport shuttle I requested for my departure did not show up. After a half hour wait, the manager called a private taxi to rush me to the airport. I will definitely stay at BW Premier Petion-Ville on my next trip to Haiti.

Overall the hotel was Okay. What made it better, was the exceptional smiling workers, from the door man to the terrace. It would be better if the housekeeping was more prompt and fast. Towels was not given at a fast pace when asked. If you are planning on staying at this hotel currently as a couple and would like to enjoy a couple's massage. It would not be available because they only have one masseuse. The pool is not heated in the event you wanted to enjoy the pool in the evening time. There's not a variety of food at Le Michel Restaurant and the entree meals are not always fresh. Whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER ANY SPECIALS ON THE MENU. Acra are freshly made, and honestly that was the most I enjoyed. the fritay plater is not the greatest.

After 16 years of leaving Haiti, I decided that it was time to back my bags and head back home solo for a short stay, and I could not have picked a better hotel to stay at. The security measures at the hotel was excellent, staff were amazing and HELPFUL, food was delicious and the room was very comfortable. The General Manager, Tamara is fluent in several languages and was beyond helpful - If you need any recommendations of where to go, what to eat, who to see, she's your girl. Also, A big thank you to Samuel Francisque, for being an excellent shuttle driver. He helped navigate the city safely and sort of became my personal tour guy for the rest of my stay there. I was overall very satisfied with my stay at the Best Western Premier, and highly recommend it.

I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Premier in Petionville. The room was very comfortable, gym and pool excellent, breakfast buffet delicious, and service helpful. Staff helped to navigate the city safely and with minimal stress. Specifically, I would like to mention the excellent service of Samuel Francisque, who went above and beyond shuttle driving duties, expertly navigated the roads, and being available for transport. He effectively served as a knowledgeable concierge, recommending restaurants and historical sites to visit. This saved a lot of time and energy that would have been spent researching and planning. Overall, I am very happy with the experience at this hotel and highly recommend it.

I made a reservation 2 days ago for 9-11 feb. Email confirmation clearly reads I have until 4 pm on the 9th to cancel, or my card will be charged. I called at 1233 to cancel. I was told I has to so it 24 hours in advance so I would be charged. I told the lady what my email confirmation said. She said she could not do it but Would have to go get the person who handles cancelations and call me back in 5 minutes. I was on a borrowed phone and told her she could not call me back. She put me on hold. She came back and said it was canceled. I asked for a confirmation number. She said I would receive and email. I asked for one anyway. She said she could not give me one and I would receive an email immediately. It has been 30 minutes and I have not received the email with the confirmation code. It is 220 pm and still we'll before the 4 pm no later than cancelation without charge deadline. Hoping the cancelation was taken care of. Will try to borrow a phone again. Will update this review with the final results. Not happy right now. Happy to at least have wireless to access internet so I can capture the experience as it unfolds.

The rooms are nice, the staff is pleasant, but the restaurant and pool were a disappointment. We tried to order multiple things for dinner, but were told they were out of our first few choices. Finally settling another option we were disappointed to have several items substituted on the plate. The pool was also a disappointment. There were about 5 men smoking marijuana in the pool area on a Sunday at around noon. Overall I'd choose the Marriott any day over this hotel.

The Best Western is a good choice for arrival and departures in Haiti because the hotel offers reliable, scheduled Shuttle Service to and from the airport for 35.00 dollars. It is important to schedule the shuttle in advance though. There was a mixup on the taxi service I needed to catch an early morning flight but the front desk staff were able to arrange a driver to the airport at 6 in the morning without difficulty. I do not suggest waiting to arrange transportation at the last minute and always schedule extra time due to traffic congestion that begins at dawn and slows down at dusk. The shuttle can also be scheduled for locations in a two mile radius of the property which is a bonus. The General Manager, Tamara speaks several languages fluently and is available to solve any issues with the hotel during your stay. The room with two queen beds and luxurious linens was super clean. The staff was courteous and helpful although in Haiti as a rule of thumb english is not a second language. The outdoor pool is small. The Fitness room has all the standard contemporary exercise equipment. There is a spa for massage and skin treatments onsite. The lobby and common areas are decorated with a wonderful selection of Haitian Art. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant Michel is extra but well worth the money. The restaurant serves a good variety of dishes and on Thursday there was a special French themed menu in addition to the regular fare of Creole or American Fusion. Diners can eat inside or out with a view of the mountains. At night, it is a lively and comfortable bar scene. A big plus is the location. There is a 2 story Giant Food store with every and anything you may need during your visit including prescriptions across the street from the hotel. I visited two Art galleries with a variety of well known and emerging fine artists in the neighborhood. The staff is well informed and courteous. A shout out to the in house reservation agent who booked my room in english and helped me change it when my plans changed. Tamara states that booking directly usually insures a better rate than online and the shuttles can be arranged at the same time. First time travelers will appreciate the transportation services because I discovered getting around the city to be a big challenge. The free WIFI connection was terrific too.

Best Western is a very nice hotel to stay in Haiti. It´s well located and very close to a good supermarket. The staff is very kind, polite and helpful. The porters, the guards, the waiters and waitresses at the restaurant, the housekeeping girls, who bring Kisses chocolates to us every evening, like Kitty, the managers, everybody does everything to make us feel comfortable during our stay. The bedroom is big and the bed is very comfortable. There is a mini bar, a coffee maker and you can ask for a microwave oven if necessary. The cleaning is good and is done daily. Breakfast is good enough for a nutritious nourishment, and we can have a taste of local food too. We get two small bottles of water everyday, which is a nice touch. The gym is small, but the equipment is very good. The swimming pool is also small, but charming. There is a small spa, a business place, and events, like a magician show or speeches or a party at the bar. I would love for the shower to be stronger and for my safe to work, but all in all I would definitely recommend Best Western for those who visit the city for business or vacation.

I made the mistake of staying here thinking that being a major hotel chain it would be worth the money. Granted it is nicer than a lot of the local accommodations, however it is definitely not worth the money. There is nothing especially wrong with the rooms outside of the fact that for the same amount of money you can stay in a much more luxurious hotel in the same area. The amenities however, are definitely lacking. Don't expect to get a good meal here. The pool is a joke. And if you need parking, forget about it, it's limited and an enormous inconvenience.

I recently travelled from Australia to Haiti and had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel. The room was absolutely fantastic! The 2 free bottles of water you received every day was appreciated. The team made sure the room was clean and the chocolates we received every day at 6.30 pm was a nice touch. The location was great and very close to the local "Giant" supermarket. Level 2 has The Whiskey Bar which had the most amazing atmosphere and a great view. There was live entertainment during the week too. The food was delicious and the waiter Pierre Jackson looked after me!!!! Thanks so much to this guy who was friendly and very professional. I will definitely stay at this hotel when I return in August 2016.

I am in love with Best Western Premier, I had an unforgettable time. My little girl simply love the place. Room service from "Chez Michel Restaurant" was a little pricey for the value. Best Staff ever Kitty Vincent from Housekeeping is such a sweetheart she went above and beyond her scope of work. Next vacation will be spent again at Best Western Premier!!!! My Room was great slept the whole night through the was was awesome I was able to see part of the city.

I read so many mixed reviews on this hotel so I was a little worried but once I got there, the worry went away. We checked in to room 305 right above the outdoor lounge with a balcony. I had no problem with the noise level. Slept with no problem and couldn't hear anything. The roosters are much louder than any noise you will hear at the bar :) The beds were so comfortable, air conditioning was fine and the room was clean. American Airlines lost my luggage for my entire trip and Tamara (the General Manager) was the most helpful person I've ever met at a hotel. She even offered to share her vitamins because I needed mine that were in my luggage and she also called American Airlines trying to help me get my luggage. She is the one that approached me at the front desk because she could see how disgusted I was after hanging up with American Airlines. This hotel is lucky to have her. We did go to the restaurant at the hotel almost every day, even if it was just for a drink. My husband and I had the same waiter, Pierre Jackson, almost the entire time. He is a great waiter! We never waited for anything! He smiled and was attentive and friendly and began to know what we were going to order before we even ordered it. We did use the fitness center. Small but exactly what you need. We even left our old cell phone that we use for music in the fitness center by accident and the front desk returned it to us. The pool is perfect size. We used it for 2 of the days. We were the only ones there. I also sat at the pool for a few mornings to relax while my husband worked out. Very relaxing! I wish I could remember the woman's name at the Spa. I got an 80 minute Swedish Massage and it was sooooooooo good! There is a free shuttle anywhere within 2 miles of the hotel. We were going to a friends house that was about 3 miles and they were only going to charge us about $15 back and forth. We ended up cancelling because our friend picked us up. The charge was never taken off our hotel bill so at check out the front desk took it right off after we explained that we didn't use the shuttle. There is a store across the street that has a little bit of everything. I bought some sun dresses and a few other things that I needed for the week because my luggage never came. There is also a regular market (Giant Market) about 2 minute walk away. We went there and got snacks and a few other things to keep in our room. I also bought all my toiletries there and they had ALL of the normal products I use at home. I was so happy! :) I NEVER felt unsafe in Haiti. I walked and went everywhere. My husband is from Haiti and he was able to communicate which definitely helped. We will definitely be back to this hotel!

Marvelous Luncheon My parents recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on the 29th of December 2015. The Event was held at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Petion-Ville. From the beginning Sasha our sales contact answered all our questions and assisted us in securing a menu deemed for the event. I consulted with my parents who in turn agreed with the choices. Sasha remained attentive to us until the day of the event. My parents also praised the serving staff who took care of the guests while continuing to replenish the buffet. I highly recommend the Best Western Premier because it is a very beautiful Hotel, the Sales department is exceptional; in addition I would like to thank the owners for opening a first class establishment in Petion-Ville.

This is by far the best hotel experience I've had in Haiti. It was a great experience by any great hotel standards. I have never seen a hotel in Haiti cater to guests this way before. My experience was fantastic in every way from the moment we arrived. The coutrtesy of the doormen was noticebale. They were extremely polite and prompt to help us to checking In especially RObert . The front desk welcome is one of the warmest I've ever received anywhere in the world. The fruit drinks they gave everyone was a sweet welcome. Please thank Jennifer she is great!. The room was top . Clean , Big , Cold Air , nice view beautiful bathroom everything you would expect in a good hotel. Great Management, staff ! Made me they cared and home. Had a great time at Best Western. I came for a wedding at Best Western. The food and music was so good. From the time we arrive they took care of us. Doorman Peterson was so helpful. Front Desk everyone so nice Marie Chimene help us so much. She gave us welcome drinks cold water & everything we need at checkin. Restaurant plan the family dinner. Definitely "nice" considering you're in Haiti after all but I must admit this is one of my top choices of places to stay. The convenience in Petionville is good but the quality of the room for the price is disappointing, plus the food is overpriced. Tired of hotels gauging foreigners.

This neat hotel is located at the heart of Pétion-Ville. It is quite new and features a swimming pool, fitness room, restaurant and two bars. The staff is nice but be aware that everything here has it own rhythm. There are good restaurants nearby as well as two supermarkets. The rooms are nice and ample. If you choose this Hotel, ask for a room on the side facing the street. The rooms facing the back have balconies and a nice view, but the noise coming from the terrace, mostly on Wednesdays when they host a happy-hour with a DJ, may be annoying to some. For a short stay the menus available in the restaurant and the bar are good enough. I recommend the burger and the chicken tacos. Little things I would point out: the music in the lobby is always way too loud, don´t know why. The breakfast buffet on Sundays could be different from the buffet served every other day. An omelet station would be nice, guys. For any problems you may have the staff at the front desk will be ready to help you.

I booked this hotel based on the feedback from others, despite the fact that I have never had a great stay at a Best Western. Sadly, that is the case yet again. I was placed right next to the elevators. I hate that. They demand that you pay for the full stay on arrival, not at checkout, and still take a card imprint for incidentals. Wow. And Within literally a minute of getting into my King Suite, which I paid extra for, I noted the following: 1. The phone was broken; 2. There was no room service menu in the directory: 3. I could not adjust the temperature lower than 24 C. What's going on? Isn't this place maintained? Yet another uninspiring stay at a mediocre hotel.

Stayed at the Best Western Premier for a week, rooms are ample and nicely decorated, bathrooms are beautiful and clean. Staff is VERY friendly and ready to help in whatever is needed. In my opinion, this is the BEST hotel in Petion-Ville.

Best Western Hotel is the best of the best of Haiti. The staff go out of their way to make you feel home and take care of you. Service sometimes slow but faster than anywhere else I've stayed in Haiti. The most comfortable room , one of the best hotel beds I ever slept in the world! Could not ask for more. Where do I begin. If you are well travelled, travel often to Haiti and have stayed at the very few other viable lodging options, you will be so thankful you chose Best Western Premier. I have stayed at a few hotels in Haiti. I can tell you this is by far the best choice in Haiti. Beautiful, Reliable , Safe, Hospitable, Comfort are some of the words I would use to describe this hotel. I stayed here during the elections in Haiti and felt 100% safe despite all the travel warnings we had received not to go! Thanks to the General Manger and her AMAZING staff who are really all great. The security measures were to US Standards and the location is Prime this may also be why the US Government referred us to Best Western in the first place. My room was the perfect retreat after long days of meetings so refreshing with cold bottles of water and cool A/C . The bed is literally to die for ! I want to thank the housekeepers my room was spotless and smells so good I love to find the goodies they left for me every night with my slippers and folded robe. The entire staff is so warm and friendly they seem so happy all the time it makes you feel happy & appreciated. My welcome Drink with haitian rum was so delicious I kept ordering them every day until i left. Ask for the Savor Lakay Drink you will not regret.

The Best Western in Haiti is a very nice place to stay. Even though the security issue in that country is not the best, but at Best Western you feel the air of safety. One thing I that was strange is when I got charged $10.00 more a day for electricity. I pay for the hotel, I feel like it is very irresponsible management to charge a customer more at the counter for something that was not mention in the contract.

First let me start by saying OMG ! I had never heard of a Best Western PREMIER , stayed in one and did not know the difference. The Premier is the Upscale level of Best Western Hotels. At the Hotel they explained to me that there are 4 & 5 Star Premier's all over the World. Who knew? After my experience in Haiti I will be looking for them all over. You are greeted at the Hotel by Doormen! Smiles! and a Welcome fruit Cocktail that is delish! Yes please. I kept saying Is this a Best Western? with Chandeliers lining the entire lobby? WOW. The decor is out of a magazine the thousands of Art pieces are all recycled and made by hundreds of local artists. Never expected to find a green hotel in the Heart of Haiti. The Best Western Premier Hotel in Haiti provided a car and chauffeur free of charge to drop us and pick us up to all our meetings & dining. If that is not Luxury I do not know what is. They also made all of our restaurant reservations for us and took us shopping. Every night housekeepers come to check on guests and delivered chocolates and candies to our room. We may have gone overboard in using the 24hr room service - ordered room service day & night even at 1 a.m. the butler was smiling. Unlimited Wi-Fi, all Free - so was the bottled water! If you are traveling to Haiti. Take it from this NYC Guy This hotel should be at the top of your list. I highly doubt anywhere else can beat the comfort and service at this price!

"Best Western Haiti is Home"

Best Western Premier doesn't feel like a hotel it feels like home with every luxury you could hope to find while visiting Haiti. They have spa that is open late on weekends I had a mani/pedi on a Sunday before I left. So worth it. The pool is not to big but it's very clean crystal clear and there's a good gym too. My fave spot is the terrace and best deal is the lunch specials. Spent afternoons on the terrace sipping coffee using the wifi. The employees are so friendly they remember you by name and your preferences. The front desk was like my personal concierge they helped me print documents , charge my phone , call my bank , dry cleaning and suggested the best restaurants Mosaik, Papaye, Quartier Latin, Magdoos, Pizza Garden, Meraki tried a new place every night loved them all. The Supermarket Giant is on the same block and so are two big banks. You could walk to the restaurants and stores but the shuttle took me for free. My fave drink was the mojito with mint leaves freshly picked everything is organic! I could go on and on but I will leave room for my next review. Thank you to the entire team. I am coming back home in January ! Get ready !

I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks. I highly recommend this hotel; the rooms, restaurant, accommodations, shuttle service, and the location of the hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was professional but lacked the level of customer service skills a guest would expect from a Premier luxury hotel. One particular restaurant staff stood out for his excellent customer service skills is Alexis Pierre Richard. If the management of the restaurant and hotel would improve the service skills of the other employees to raise to the level of customer service that Alexis demonstrated, I would have given the hotel a 5-star rating. The WiFi is free and is suppose to be available in the room, however, the signal is too weak. You need to get a stronger WiFi signal for the rooms. The business center was great and that made up for the weak WiFi signal. One safety tip for the management of housekeeping - when mopping floors, have your cleaning staff should mop one side, let it dry and then mop the other side, so that people can walk on the dry floor, rather mopping the entire floor and allowing the guest to risk walking on a wet tile floor.

I recently stayed here on a business trip. Despite arranging airport transportation, I waited almost 90 minutes as they had "forgotten" to pick me, leaving me standing outside in the sun and heat. They were not even apologetic, and I had to fight to not be charged for the shuttle service. The rooms smell of mold, and I had bugs all over my room. I was afraid to bring things home with me, out of fear that the bugs would come with. No mini bar in room, and the "store" the hotel advertises had nothing except for club soda and ruffles potato chips, nor is there any place nearby to purchase food or beverages. Service in the restaurant was slow, even by Haitian standards. Do NOT stay here. The Marriott is much nicer, more dependable, and offers better amenities.

I booked 2 rooms for my birthday weekend. on my first night of arrival 10/13 I was told by the front desk that they did not accept best western gift cards (Let me specify that I am the reservations manager of the best western in Miami beach and I have dealt with best western gift cards for a couple of years now) I was given room 718 and 701. I usually stay on the 7th floor when I stay there but this time I did not want to stay because room 718 had a smell of urine and room 701 we found 3 roaches. the next morning we went to have breakfast at the michel restaurant and we were greeted by GILBERT ANDRE The food and Beverage manager and he asked about our stay and we explained to him what was happening. Gilbert went to the front desk and had the General Manager Mrs. MICHELLE MAGLOIRE come and talk to us about the issue. We were offered the breakfast complimentary which I thought was very nice of them and checked out that same day because we were going to jacmel. We came back on Friday 10/16 and was given 2 rooms on the 6th floor and those rooms were incredible. I want to thank Gilbert Andre for acknowledging the fact that we encountered this issue and went out of his way to help us out. I also want to thank the GM Michelle Magloire for helping me out with the gift cards issues and for making sure we got better rooms when we came back. Overall THE FRONT DESK STAFF was incredible I want to thank Marie Chimene who helped me most of my stay. I also want to thank Valencia and marie Esther from the fdesk They were really nice. Thank you to the housekeeping staff YVONNE GENEUS and DAZIE REZERNA for servicing our rooms everyday they were perfectly done. The bellman staff never cease to amaze me. They are the best staff of this hotel Specially ROBER DESIR He greets us with a big welcome back everytime I come back to the hotel. I also want to thank Junior Eduard,Peterson and Jean Bertrand from the Bellman staff. Thank you for storing our luggages safely. Overall I had a great stay except for that first night. Thank you again Michelle Magloire You are a wonderful GM!!!

I visited the hotel a couple of months ago when I was vacationing in Haiti. It was awesome, They welcome my friends and I with open arms even though we weren't staying at the hotel. We received a tour of the premises, the rooms were beautiful with an equally beautiful view. The food we had there was just amazing, and they make the best fresh passion fruit juice. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Haiti.

I went on a week long business trip to Haiti; however, my luggage did not arrive until day 3! Upon check in I shared my missing bag saga. A bellboy was immediately assigned to escort me to some shops for business attire. In addition, he took me to an area where I could buy some relatively inexpensive lounge wear. As I was purchasing clothes, he helped me by translating and bartering on my be-half. In one location, he used his money so that I would not have to break my US$! I was IN LOVE with the hotel at that point. In addition, the hotel is very nice. The rooms are wonderful! The bed was beyond comfortable, TV and phone systems are technologically advanced (large, smart TV), nice gym and quaint pool. The food in the restaurant was good, but the dinner menu did not change! The guest appreciation evening was classy and fun. I would love to go for vacation and not business

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Haiti. The restaurant is very good. The food is amazing, however it may take a while before you get served. The prices might have been a bit expensive but the taste and quality made up for this. The gym is great and so is the pool. The door men were really helpful in getting things outside the hotel. Security is really good. The front desk has amazing and friendly staff that always helped with a smile. I experienced a few problems but they were minor and was attended to instantly by staff. never the less I had a great stay! ??????. Can't wait to visit Haiti again. ????????????????

I thought the room was clean until I got up from the table I was having my dessert and returned to find a roach. That meal was over. They sneak in a concession fee of an additional $10 per day that I was not made aware of. Breakfast was supposed to be included but magically disappeared from my reservation. The worst was being placed on the second floor by the staff and being told I would be moved the next day. Music was blaring at the outdoor bar and I was informed it would end at 10 which extended till 11:30. I had no rest that evening. My view consisted of mechanical equipment. There has to be a better spot out there.

While the food/drinks are expensive even by US and import standards, the hotel is comfortable, safe, and conveniently located. Caveat that they will charge you $10/day for energy consumption. But air con is good and staff are friendly, if not knowledgeable. Concierge assured us that there would be live jazz every night at a nearby club. Alas, when we suffered through Air Supply on the stereo over dinner, we realized that we should have simply inquired at resto directly.
