"Great Hotel!"
dede48, 12 Octobre 2018

This hotel is located north of the Convention Center but has great access to bus and subway lines. The breakfast was excellent, with many choices both hot and cold. The staff was friendly and helpful, particularly Lynn, our maid on the 7th floor; she was wonderful! She was efficient and very friendly and helpful- she deserves recognition for her efforts. the staff at the front desk was excellent too! The room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

"Awesome Stay"
sadie155Denton, 04 Octobre 2018

Came into Philly to see a show at the Filmore. Found a great deal on TripAdvisor for this hotel. Can't say enough about it. The front desk receptionist, Elaine, was super friendly and helpful. We got there at 11am and checkin wasn't till 3pm. The room wasn't ready yet but she offered a place to lock up our luggage so we could explore the city! It was our first time here. She got us a map and showed us places to go. She didn't steer us wrong! She told us to come back at 1pm and she'd Probably have a room for us. This hotel in very close to mostly everything. We didn't mind walking but there is a wonderful transit system. You don't need a car in this city. The breakfast was fantastic and was included in room rate. They had eggs, bacon, home fries, waffles, fruit; breads, cereal, great coffee, and other items. Shirley, the breakfast attendant, was super nice! And our room attendant was Shawna and she was also very nice and helpful. Room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. We went to happy hour at the bar and the bartender was great. We would DEFINITELY stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to PHL.

"Nice Hotel, convenient location"
1Chuckh, 02 Octobre 2018

I was in Philadelphia for a three day conference. This hotel was right next door. The room (#513) was very good! In room refrigerator, but no microwave! Nice stand up shower and bathroom area. Desk with a small window facing downtown. Nice bedding and TV. All in all, just what I needed. The complimentary breakfast was adequate - nothing special. I liked the fact that there was always hot coffee! Parking was $22 per night a few blocks away ($36 for valet). The guy in the lot couldn't make my ticket work so he settled for $30 cash for two nights (all the cash I had).

"Wonderful Staff, Good Location and Breakfast"
TaraB0997, 26 Septembre 2018

We booked this hotel because it was reasonably priced and within walking distance of the Hop On and Phlash buses. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast was plentiful and yummy. Most notable was the assistance provided by the front desk staff. They helped with directions for the Phlash bus and with our car rental arrangements. Very nice people who understand that quality service makes all the difference to tired travellers.

"Outstanding service and courteous and very helpful staff"
whatalady7, 26 Septembre 2018

Front desk staff was fantastic (Elaine and Lynette). They took care of all of my needs : (parking; getting taxi, planning sightseeing tour). My room was clean and comfortable. The staff that attended the breakfast buffet provided excellent service.

"Outstanding value and service."
Extraordinary502797, 23 Septembre 2018

Great value compared to other hotels close by. Convenient walk to Convention Center, restaurants. Hotel staff was most accommodating, breakfast more than adequate. Only negative, window in room was view of the wall of the building next door, get a better window view. Would definitely consider staying here the next time we go to Philly.

"Wonderful Staff, Upscale Rooms and Lobby, Yummy Breakfast."
Pam O, 23 Septembre 2018

We arrived to the property after dark. This area can be very intimidating after dark and if you are not familiar with it. There was a total of 8 in our party and we had to 2 cars to park. Once we knew where to park the cars by checking in with the staff, the ladies in the group went on into the hotel to check in while waiting for the guys. They did have to park a couple of blocks away with no scary or dangerous encounters. The staff was wonderful in making our stay comfortable. Luvi(I hope I spelled her name right) at the bar was very helpful in recommending a good restaurant for asian delivery and very personable. Lynnette at the check in even made sure we had enough light in the breakfast area for our party of eight to play games. They also made sure we had plates if we needed it for our food we had delivered. The next morning breakfast was wonderful. The manager and the breakfast attendant were very friendly and attentive to all guest needs. After touring the city that day were came back to Luvi and Lynnette with the same friendly, attentive service. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel has an upscale decor though out the lobby and the in the rooms. The property is in walking distance to the Reading Terminal and we were able to catch the Plash bus to see the sites on our list. We had a wonderful stay here.

"This is not a Safe location for any Hotel (Please read) and avoid."
Tal S, 12 Septembre 2018

** I received a Survey from Best Western about my stay through Email this is my actual response below** Parking is far from the hotel. It requires quite a bit of walking to get to and from, So far away that I had to drop my wife off before I parked the car for fear of her safety, The neighborhood is very unsafe at night, The area reeks of urine and feces. There could be a homeless shelter close by and it surrounds the area of your hotel with an extreme amount of trash and beggers. As I parked in the lot and walked back to the hotel at night there was a shirtless man with a Knife across the street talking to himself and swinging the knife wildly. ***Make no Mistake This hotel is not in a safe location for out of town travelers or anyone for that matter*** I will make light of this on Trip Advisor. There should be a shuttle to run guests back and forth from that Parking lot at all times, The Breakfast buffet was out of different food items (Waffle batter, Eggs and a few other items).

"Helpful staff"
Freedom147895, 11 Septembre 2018

The areas felt a bit unsafe however it was a very short walk to everything we wanted to visit, and it was only a $3 Uber Gare if you didn't feel safe walking. So the location was great really. The staff were brilliant. The breakfast was ordinary. The room was very clean and comfortable.

"Weekend Getaway"
Mary Ellen K, 27 Août 2018

Very clean and comfortable bed. Full breakfast included that was very good and available till 11am. Convenient location. Staff was very friendly. The price was good for a Saturday night. We used the valet parking.

"courteous staff, close to Reading Terminal Market"
tl02048, 27 Août 2018

Enjoyed my stay at this Best Western. It had a very helpful staff and was in a very convenient location. We were there to attend baseball game which was an easy commute from hotel. We enjoyed the city and hope to return. Baseball fans

"Philadelphia visit"
Angela D, 26 Août 2018

Hotel was good. Breakfast set up staff, Shirley was excellent, very good attention to detail, good memory. All employees were helpful and friendly. Good value, good location for sight seeing. Bed was comfortable.

"All great except parking"
Gerardo C, 01 Août 2018

This property is a great property with all anyone could ask for - great breakfast, comfortable room/bed and friendly staff. However, the parking situation is horrible. You are asked to pay $22/day (or $37 for valet) and the parking is located almost 2 blocks away. Would have given the property 5 stars but the parking situation cannot be ignored.

"Wonderful hotel, walking distance from LOTS of shopping, food, etc!"
jmaches, 01 Août 2018

I was hesitant as some reviews mentioned it's in a sketchy area. It is, but not really. There is parking across the street/one block away which we took advantage of, and Reading Terminal Market is maybe a 10 min walk, along with a lot of shopping and food options. Felt safe enough to walk around with my daughter. Beautiful lobby, super clean rooms, pleasant and helpful staff. The desk agents working 7/30 PM and 7/31 AM were so polite and friendly - a rarity these days as lately a lot of desk agents I deal with seem annoyed to even be there. They seemed genuinely happy to have us there! Would stay again!

"Not up to Standards"
ocdmamabear, 29 Juillet 2018

It took almost 40 minutes to get checked in. We were told that our credit card was declined when their systems have had problems all day. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was way above our expectations. Shirley, the breakfast aid, did a wonderful job greeting us each morning. She kept tables cleaned and kept the food pretty stocked and the counters tidy. The internet for me kept flaking in and out but it could have just been me.

"It's OK but."
82AndrewM82, 18 Juillet 2018

The room iwas fine, clean and comfortable with all the usual amenities, However the WiFi was hopeless in our room with a very intermittent Service. The free breakfast is adequate and it was good to find coffee and tea making faciluties when we arrived which is not usual for the Us, However the tea, coffee and cups were not replenished. Overall reasonable value but room for improvement.

"Good hotel with great location"
111Mallory, 17 Juillet 2018

We stayed one night for a weekend sightseeing and brew tour visit to Philly. This hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from almost everything we wanted to see. No fuss, clean, just what we wanted for one night. The woman at checkout was very sweet; I asked for a bottle of water when leaving and she gave me one even though I don't think she was supposed to. We parked at a lot across the street since it was closer and more open --- $30 for the 2 days

"Impressed!"
skeletonkey1005, 29 Juin 2018

I admit I was a little nervous regarding the "neighborhood" but considering I mind my own business I didn't give too much thought about the outside feel of the place. Once inside I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very clean (which is a major concern for me). The room was adequate in size and since I didn't plan to spend much time other than sleeping and showering a larger more expensive hotel seemed to be a waste. The hotel staff was amazing! The free breakfast was great, valet parking isn't really necessary since there are plenty of self parking options at a cheaper cost close by. The single biggest thing that impressed me was, Best Western offers military discounts on the room rate that to me supersedes a lot of other amenities. Thank you Best Western! I would totally stay here again, I would and have told others about this hotel on Vine Street, in Philly.

"Won't Stay Here Again"
Writer1953, 18 Juin 2018

Stay at another hotel. I chose this place for proximity to Reading Terminal Market and not being far from the venue where I was attending a concert. The hotel is older and not in a great area. If you drive, as I did, know that you have to parallel park if more than one person is checking in, and you'll be unloading on a busy street. Parking for the hotel is 2 blocks away and the opposite direction from Reading Terminal Market. Only one employee was friendly (the man cleaning the messy breakfast area) and the maid knocked on our door despite the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign. The only elevator to the 7th floor is small, old and slow. The room itself was fine, the WiFi was good and we slept reasonably well (though the bottom sheet kept popping off at the corners, a pet peeve) or I'd give this place a lower rating.

"Not best or worst"
Marc V, 31 Mai 2018

You get what you pay for and this was I guess ok value. The rooms are modern, clean and big with the hotel being maybe 10mims walk from the start of downtown. Wasn't there for food but the breakfast is maybe worst I've ever had in any hotel around the world with the worst buffet ever, at least there was juice.

"I would stay at this hotel again!"
Rose V, 27 Mai 2018

This Best Western was just what I was looking for. The hotel is walking distance from many of the city's museums. Even though this hotel is located on a busy street, it was pretty easy to get around. The staff was very helpful too

"Adequate lodging at a reasonable price"
nomadicone2013, 24 Mai 2018

Much less expensive than hotels a few blocks away probably because it is on the edge of rough north Philadelphia. Rooms were clean but small with some annoying problems. We had to call house keeping twice because they would not leave a spare roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. Breakfast was inconsistent in quality and quantity with items frequently not replenished. Within walking distance(1-2 miles) of museums and historical sites or we used Lyft occasionally which gave us rides at 5-10 dollars within 5-10 minutes. Staff was very friendly.

"Vacation with Hubby and his first time in Philadelphia"
Pamala B, 18 Mai 2018

I would like to share with you my recent experience staying in the Best Western Plus Convention Center, Philadelphia. My girlfriends and I have an annual trip to Philly in the fall to shop and we usually stay in Center City, primary in Rittenhouse Square and the Marriott. As many times I had visited Philadelphia my husband has never been. We take our vacation together each May. This year for the first time my husband experienced Philly. We stayed a total of 8 nights at the Best Western Plus Convention Center. Although it was a departure from I where I usually stay, it was good. My husband loved it! It's a little of the beaten path but what makes a difference from the more centrally located Center City hotels are the staff. All of the staff was amazing but three stood out as stellar: Deonna (front desk). She is the ultimate “Girl Friday”. Friendly, professional, and extremely intelligent. She knew everything and if she didn't know she would go out of her way to find out. Mark - This young man with a million dollar smile. Mark went out of his way to make guests feel welcomed each and every way. Ms. Evelyn – What a spitfire. She moved constantly making sure that all breakfast items were available. And that bacon and fluffy eggs! I complimented her on how good the bacon and eggs were. She smiled and said “I only cook food it would eat”. Yes, this hotel in not right smack in the middle but if you want a home feeling this is where you want to be. Besides walking is good for you!! After we returned home my husband turned to me and said “Now I see way you love Philadelphia so much!”

"Deonna at the front desk was awesome. Beautiful lobby"
Mandy K, 15 Mai 2018

We had a nice stay. The hotel itself is in a bit of a sketchy area but to our surprise the hotel was nice. The lobby was beautiful. We were able to walk to most places we wanted to. I love the fact that their Military rate was much cheaper. I would stay again

"Unpleasant receptionist"
Carlos M, 11 Mai 2018

My girlfriend went to the reception and the receptionist tried to flirt with her... it is not the treatment that a client of a hotel worker expects. It was a very uncomfortable and unpleasant situation.

"Incredible Management and staff"
JeffLegins, 11 Mai 2018

The hotel was nice and offered free breakfast and drink throughout the day. The real winner for this hotel was the management and staff. I can't say enough how great they were and made our stay so enjoyable.

"Great breakfast"
TravelGavin, 06 Mai 2018

If you're looking to take a warm shower, turn the water on 15 minutes before you need to get in. It takes FOREVER to get the water up there. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. Some rooms have no view as the building is right up next to another building - so you lack a view and natural light. Instead you have the illuminated brick of the building next to you. Pretty good breakfast. Staff does a good job of keeping it stocked and the lobby/breakfast area clean. Easy walk to Convention Center and Race/Vine station. About 10-15 minute walk from the SEPTA regional rail lines. It seems like it is far away from everything because it's across the highway, but honestly, it's not that far out of the way and the walk is generally nice.

"Party all night"
Wheelfun, 06 Mai 2018

Eliminate the party - from 2:00am to at least 3:30am both nights, there were people talking loudly in the hall, doors opening and closing. Baby across the hall didn't help either, but that's just the (bad) luck of the draw, it will happen... Elevators are slow, or at least the back elevator, the only one to the ninth floor was slow. Should have an express checkout so that I don't need to go get my receipt/portfolio. Breakfast was bland. I did not receive a pre-arrival email with an Express Check-in feature. I called the hotel directly and made the reservations. They told me that they couldn't accept credit cards because the system was down, so they put it in as cash status. I received the confirmation email that said I had to put in payment 48 hours before my stay or the room would be cancelled. Called and got transferred to BW central booking, they said they could see the reservation, but couldn't help because it was booked locally. Called back the next day and they could take my credit card. There was no express checkout, had to go to the front desk.

"Good breakfast"
Nimetön M, 03 Mai 2018

We stayed one night. The rooms have non-existent sound proofing, but that was really our only complaint. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was nice (toast, waffles, cereal, scrambled egg, fresh fruits etc). The location was also good.

"For 1 Night"
Lucyj96, 26 Avril 2018

Decided this hotel on the location. Couldn't fault it, despite being seemingly in the "ghetto" it was good for a one night stay, close to everything. The room was okay, the view was questionable. Our view was a window to another room with no door, despite it having a light and a power outlet inside. There was a trace of what looked like blood on the wall next to the window but didn't think to complain because we wasn't looking for 5* quality. Staff were kind of friendly. Only bad experience we had with them was when we needed more coffee and creamer for the room and it took 3 whole hours to get sent to the room! After an hour and 30 minutes we rang to ask where it was and they just said that the person delivering it was on a break. After 2 hours we gave up waiting and went to sleep but got woken up an hour later. Breakfast was yummy, despite nothing being labelled and not much selection. However it filled us up for a day out. I would be back again if Im in the area.

"Best Western Minus"
DonaldYokum, 21 Avril 2018

The location for this motel is fine, near the Convention Center. What they don't tell you is that the parking is at a lot about 3 blocks from the motel, at a cost of $22 a nite! The breakfast was very poor, no plates, only bowls. The orange juice was like orange colored water. Not a satisfyIng Best Western experience. The location for this motel is fine, near the Convention Center. What they don't tell you is that the parking is at a lot about 3 blocks from the motel, at a cost of $22 a nite! The breakfast was poor, no plates, only bowls. The orange juice was watery and unpalatable. Not the Best Western experience that I'm used to.

"Really nice stay - AMAZING customer service"
saitken73, 19 Avril 2018

The front desk when we checked in was simply fabulous. The ladies were handling clients and the phones and doing it really well. I believe the lady who served us was named Laurette - she deserves a big shout out. I want to thank her for being awesome at her job. The room was clean and the bed was comfy - exactly what we were looking for.

"Very helpful front desk"
greggykins1, 15 Avril 2018

The stay was great as any hotel stay would be, but the highlight had to be the front desk treatment. Deonna at the front desk was working during both our check in and check out, and she helped us with a baggage hold both when we were early on check-in, and when we checked out and explored the city before our flight that afternoon. She was polite and courteous, and let us access our bags quickly when we forgot to grab a few things each time.

"Ammenities are inferior to price tag."
marthamulindwa, 10 Avril 2018

Room i was put in had no windows, felt like a dungeon at 3 pm. Breakfast was sub-par and when I needed somethings for the bathroom (they have a tag that says you should call the front desk and they will assist) no one ever answered. I stayed for only a night and opted for a friend's couch. One positive is it was conveniently located for the purpose of my visit.

"Average, cheaper stay for a hotel-strapped Philly"
Reece L, 10 Avril 2018

I'm not sure what else to say other than that this is a Best Western. It was the cheapest hotel with a convenient location in Philadelphia so I stayed. My check-in experience was actually very pleasant, the receptionist was wonderfully polite and helpful. I would suggest registering for their free rewards program, I was offered free snacks upon signing up. That being said, the room and hotel itself was just so mediocre. I was put into a handicap room with a window in the corner of the room that was narrower than shoulder width. The bathroom felt sterile. My experience here was really neither here nor there which I think is expected of a Best Western or similar value chain. Free breakfast is a good and filling way to start the day

"Disappointed by the hotel management"
Yuriy D, 21 Mars 2018

I've got a reservation with a free cancellation for March 20th of this year for one night as I had a meeting scheduled nearby next morning. Unfortunately, it was the day when Toby winter storm paralyzed the whole North East so the meeting was cancelled and I tried to cancel my reservation. However, it turned out that I was late few hours with the cancellation so the hotel management didn't express any understanding and was totally indifferent and apathetic to the circumstances, while even airlines allowed passengers to reschedule their flights free of penalties due to this natural disaster. So I just lost $200. I see such a strict enforcement of the policy pathetic under the circumstances and I will surely never stay in Best Western

"Disappointing Stay"
Susan B, 07 Mars 2018

First I had problems booking the reservation and was given the run-around. I re-booked having to pay more for the same room. I arrived at 4 pm and was told to sit down and have coffee to wait for check-in. Thirty minutes later someone who at least had some sense of customer service came out of the office and tried to move the slow clerk along. Over-priced for the room, location and service. Breakfast... food was gross. Tables dirty.

"Least expensive place in Philly on a holiday weekend, but not great"
sufei10536, 18 Février 2018

This hotel was adequate, but nothing more. 4 blocks on either side of the hotel is not very nice, and there are no shops or restaurants. 5-6 blocks will get you to the Convention Center and Redding Market. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, but only one was wearing a hotel uniform, the rest were in informal street clothes. I prefer a more "corporate" look for lobby staff. The room was small but clean. Far from fancy but adequate. The air conditioner/heater unit made more noise than I would have liked all night, each time it came on. The mattress and pillows were good. Bathroom was clean and good enough.Again nothing fancy but adequate. The breakfast, although I didn't eat there, looked good, but at prime-time, there were not enough seats for everyone It was a holiday weekend so every hotel in the center of Philadelphia was very expensive. I paid $157 per night, and if you were booking the "day of" I heard the staff quoting $219. That hotel is not worth that much money by a long shot. It was an ok stay, but I'll probably stick to a Hampton Inn next time.

"Great People, Great Location, Overall Great Value. Great place to stay. Overall B+ FlyEaglesFly!"
ChannelBMedia, 08 Février 2018

I would like to start by commending the staff. Our beloved Eagles have just won the Superbowl, and Philly was in complete euphoria. That being said, every hotel in Philly was booked with potential parade goers. I had the unfortunate luck of booking too early before the actual parade date was officially announced and had to request an extension of my stay. While waiting for Booking to contact the front desk staff to make the change, I watched a young lady man the front desk by her lonesome. She was handling phones, conversing with incoming guests and never lost a step, broke a sweat, or became undone. Just a remarkable job of remaining poised and managing the business. She was very polite, smiled, and was able to help me with my situation. Overall Rating: Superb! A++ This level of customer service didn't end there. The valet and hospitality staff all were very personable, remembering my name in some cases. There is complementary coffee, tea, and Hot Cocoa in the lobby and a nice bar with amazing bartenders. They were so cool, mixed it up with the guests; the drinks weren't overpriced or watered down either. They made you feel very welcomed and had a group of strangers conversing and sharing stories. It was so amazing. Overall Rating: Superb A++ The room was very spacious and modern. It came complete with a refrigerator, ironing board and iron, as well as a safe. The bed was incredibly comfy, and I am bummed I have to sleep in my bed tonight, and the shower had great pressure. Overall Rating: B The location couldn't have been better, less than a 5-minute walk to the convention center and Reading Terminal Market, about 10 minutes away from the Art Museum and other sites in Center City. I love Philly, its such an awesome town, and I think I will be staying here whenever I come to town. Overall Rating: A+ A few items that need improvement: Although the room was comfy, I did find quite a few hairs on one of the pillowcases. Also, in the shower, there was a used towel hanging up behind the door. So cleanliness could come up a bit. Overall Rating: B Furthermore, the bell on the elevator was extremely loud and disturbing. I was in a room right off the elevator, and I can hear the dings of every stop. It's also very slow when being a passenger. Overall Rating: D (get rid of that bell!) DING!!!!!! As it pertains to the air conditioning, it was hard keeping the room warm as the curtains that hang over the windows also trap the heat coming out of the vents. If they can shorten the curtains about two inches, it would resolve this issue. Overall Rating: B The television randomly turns off after a few hours. Being a bit of an insomniac, I have the TV on throughout the night; I would have to turn it back on at least 3-4 times a night. Overall Rating: B The valet pricing. I checked in later on in the afternoon and being a former resident of that area; I know there is a significant potential for an automotive break-in. Therefore, I paid for the valet. I felt the parking price was a bit exorbitant. Overall Rating: C

"Clean and professional"
Desirea W, 21 Janvier 2018

This location and hotel is the only place I'll stay when I'm visiting Philadelphia. It's not like the others with the daily hustle and bustle; the staff is totally professional and caring. They respond well if ever there is a complaint; needs are met, breakfast is great and the hotel is well lit and pristine!

"No/ Expensive hotel parking"
525vikasa, 04 Janvier 2018

Hotel was decent but the parking price is separate from the price you pay for the room. Rooms were smaller than normal. Staff was helpful but they didn't have change for me to use on street parking. Overall I have been to better best western, so had a little high expectations from it,. Breakfast met the expectation though.

"OK for the price"
abbys981, 04 Janvier 2018

One of the less expensive hotels. It is a couple of blocks away from the Convention Center and another block or two to City Hall. Parking is available for a fee, but is a couple of blocks away from the hotel so be prepared to walk. Area is not the nicest compared to some of the hotels closer to the convention center. Front sidewalk/curb area was littered with random garbage. You have to cross major highway by foot if walking to convention center or any of the typical sites, so staying with small kids may not be the best choice--of course there is a light with a crosswalk, but it is a major road nonetheless. Breakfast was pretty good with a nice variety of choices both hot and cold, but area they serve it in is quite compact so if you tend to eat breakfast during peak hours, be prepared to be sardined in with a lot of other people while making your selections. Seating area is ample and more spead out so at least you can eat with some elbow room. Rooms are average, no complaints about them really, but nothing special. Decent value for the price but no bells or whistles.

"Good Value For Location. Decent breakfast included."
Joe M, 02 Janvier 2018

You're close to the convention center and some fun, cheap comedy clubs are nearby. There's not a lot on that side of vine street, but if you cross over into chinatown, there is a lot more to see and do. Reading Market is within 10 minutes walking distance. This hotel a good spot if you're trying to be close to some places to go out during the day or at night, but pay less. The parking isn't on site so you'll have to go around the corner and up a block, but the attendant was cool with us leaving our car there the day that we checked out so we could go around and explore the city. The check-in staff was professional and the kitchen staff did a good job keeping the food coming in the morning for breakfast. Considering that the hotel is on the cheaper side, I thought the breakfast was decent. They have eggs, potatoes, breads, cereals, etc and they keep coming as fast as they can. They should have more dispensers for coffee in the morning cause it was running out a bit, but they were working hard to keep the food out so they had their priorities straight. Ask if you can get a room farther away from the elevator cause if you're close to it then you can hear the ping noise when it gets to your floor. I was disappointed that one of our towels had a little grease on it. To be fair, it was on the inside of the towel that was wrapped and I should have opened it to check before hopping in the shower. The room, the bathroom and the bed sheets were otherwise really clean. The rooms have fridges, a desk and a nice chair. The bed is REALLY comfortable and a solid bed frame (no squeaky sounds, shifty bed frames, etc).

casameri, 19 Décembre 2017

We booked reservations at this hotel to attend my daughter's graduation ceremony from the Physician Assistant Program from Drexel University. The hotel is in a good location, easily accessible to restaurants and shops. The staff was great. They were able to check us in earlier and very accommodating on any of our requests. The manager in charge of the rooms greeted us with a great big smile and always ask if we needed anything. Bryce always made herself available to us despite how busy she was handling phone calls and the lobby all at the same time. The rooms are tight but that is expected because it is an older building. The rooms were clean.

Dede was very helpful now thats what i call customer service.I work in hospitality myself as a manager and she has all the attributes of a front drsk agent who is very passionate about her job and her guests

"Nice stay once inside the hotel"
cherylbC869ZO, 07 Décembre 2017

This is a nice hotel. The staff are all friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The breakfast was good. The only downside is the surrounding area (note that this would be my critique even for the Marriott or another major chain) and my room was small. Despite these critiques, my stay was enjoyable. I frequently walked around the area between the Convention Center and the hotel early in the morning and at night with no problems.

"Noisy"
7joycep, 04 Décembre 2017

The rooms were clean but the walls were thin. We heard a loud group of people from our hotel room around 1:00 am, as well as the fire alarm. The breakfast was average. There are no windows in the hotel room. The price was reasonable and was a few blocks away from the city center in Philadelphia.

"Fine for a purposeful stay"
Bruce W, 02 Décembre 2017

The hotel is clean and while the rooms are somewhat Spartan, the beds are clean and comfortable. I stayed here to attend a conference so I was not at the hotel for a large portion of the day. As such, the accommodations were adequate. Parking, however, is a challenge since there is not a parking lot in the immediate vicinity. The breakfast was fine and the hotel staff were all friendly and helpful.

"EXCELLENT! Would stay again!"
CHO1978, 02 Décembre 2017

Thank you for a very pleasant stay, albeit a short one. Flew from Hawaii to surprise a good friend celebrating his 60th birthday with his 60th marathon. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. If Philadelphia is ever on my itinerary again, I will be back, for sure!

"My mini vacation experiance"
791dineshap, 28 Novembre 2017

I loved the overall look of the hotel, the room was clean and the lobby was very welcoming. however upon arrival to the hotel I was under the impression that I was receiving a totally free stay and was not aware that any fares had to be paid where as I was not prepared and had to walk 10 blocks just to find my bank and load money to my card just to find out when I get back to the hotel that I am being charged more then I was told before took the long walk to the bank. Due to the concierge not having the correct authority to override current fees me and my husband had to sit and wait for almost 3 hours for a manager to come and override the fees so that we could check in.

"Excellent value for center city Philadelphia! Brand New Hotel!"
kc2gvx, 13 Novembre 2017

I got a good deal by booking at Best Western website directly, around $100 for a Sunday night. I had a medical procedure Monday morning early at UPenn. It was a 15 minute drive from the hotel to UPenn. You can also walk to Convention Center and Reading Terminal Market from the hotel. Upon entry, the lobby is immaculate and fresh. There is a small bar in the lobby for drinks and light fare. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Currently one out of three elevators are working, which is frustrating and a waste of time. The breakfast is FREE and amazing, clean, and good quality. There were two attendants constantly updating and maintaining the breakfast bar. You get waffles, pancakes, cereal, toast, bagels, eggs, potatoes, sausage, and I think more. There is also juice and a full coffee bar. The rooms are a little on the small side, but comfortable and clean beds. Free Wifi, good water pressure, and a fully-independent climate control that has NO governors. My ONLY complaint is the parking situation. Granted parking in a major city is never easy, but I wanted to post this to make future guests aware. You can pay $40 for valet parking, or $22 for self-parking, or find a free spot somewhere on the streets of Philadelphia surrounding the hotel. If you choose self-parking, its a 1.5 block walk away from the hotel in a kind-of sketchy area. Saw a few junkies nodding out, but overall safe and harmless. The self-park lot is gated and secured by an attendant. Again, no complaints- just wanted to make future guests aware of the parking situation so you can plan accordingly. There is 30-minute unloading/check-in parking directly in front of the hotel. Overall it was excellent and I will be returning in two weeks for another medical stay.

"Nice stay, friendly staff,"
sbergeron8, 12 Novembre 2017

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Reasonable price for the location. Parking is inconvenient at 2 blocks away and $22 day but not uncommon for an in city hotel. I would return to this hotel in the future. Room was small but clean and comfortable.

Kathi S, 11 Novembre 2017

Amazing customer service and clean rooms. We were in town for the Rocky Run 1/2 marathon and brought bikes to ride to the race venue. Donna tagged our bikes and kept them safe in the back room overnight. The hotel even accommodated for late checkout so we could shower after the race. Donna was super friendly and helpful.

"Great for the price!"
Y2938QPpatriciak, 09 Novembre 2017

Clean, comfortable and quiet! This hotel has all that you need to relax after a day at the convention center. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are well equipt with desk, tv, and internet. The location is a block from the convention center, so you can actually walk back and forth during breaks.

"Good place to stay in a pinch"
406timothyr, 08 Novembre 2017

This hotel wasn't my first choice, but procrastination on my part mad it one of few, if not the only available choice. This is my first time in Philly, but room prices for this place were similar to the others in the area. It was nice and clean and relatively comfortable, but I am used to getting more space for this price range. Also, the neighborhood was a bit "dodgy". The staff were really nice and always attentive and helpful.

"Top notch customer service"
377kerric, 08 Novembre 2017

We were a large school group looking for a nice hotel for one night in the city. The staff at this particular Best Western went above and beyond, giving us exemplary customer service. The rooms were very clean. The lobby always had fresh hot coffee. The front desk provided students with any toiletries they had forgotten. They gave us a list of popular sites to visit and gave us directions for walking and using public transportation. The location is fabulous, everything is in walking distance! I will bring my family back here on a personal visit for sure! Two staff members that made our trip extra special: Tenea and Aja - above and beyond! Bravo!

"Poor Service"
N8652YLemilym, 06 Novembre 2017

The air conditioning was not working in our room so we called down to the front desk to have someone fix it. The lady at the front desk said she would try to find someone to fix it since the maintenance guy just left. A half hour later we still had no word from the front desk; so we went downstairs to talk to the front desk in person. The woman there said there was nothing she could do at the moment because her manager stepped out for a minute. We told her we were leaving in 45 min for the night and would like it resolved prior to us leaving for our evening out. A half hour later we still had no answers, so we went back downstairs. The woman again said there was nothing she could do because her manager "had stepped out" (which had no been for over an hour. I told her this was not acceptable and we needed to come up with some sort of solution whether it be a new room or compensation because this was a modernized hotel in which we were told we would have air conditioning. The woman refused to do any of the above and finally got on her cell phone to contact her manager. Within 10 minutes someone was sent to our room. I understand if staff is busy or not currently on site but I felt this woman was just brushing off our complaint and did not feel like dealing with it. Because when I put up a fuss she contacted her manager who had previously "Been unavailable" and the issue was resolved. Also, we were given half a toilet paper roll, which we ran out of and had to use tissues for the restroom. We should have been stocked with an extra roll. We were also given only 3 towels for a hotel room for 3 people. We had to call twice to get towels sent up! Over all, the service at this hotel was not worth the price we paid and I was very dissatisfied with the experience. The only positive was that the hotel room was clean and the breakfast was decent.

"Good hotel experience, downtown Philadelphia"
L4459ZCgeorges, 04 Novembre 2017

Hotel very convenient off the Thruway but overlooking Thruway with some traffic noise in the room. Staff switched me to a room at the back that was quiet and very pleasant. Parking nearby at very competitive rates. Short walk to downtown area. Hotel is very clean and staff are attentive to ensure a good stay. Breakfast is outstanding with staff who rate with the best of restaurant experiences; menu changes daily and includes about everything you would want for breakfast. This was really the best self-service breakfast experience I have ever had, thanks to staff who are cheerful, friendly, and work to make the space visually appealing and well stocked, even acting as waiters to refill coffee, juice, making waffles, and in general doing whatever guests need.

"New Remodel but lacking much more"
B3299DDwendyh, 31 Octobre 2017

There is a night club next door which is extremely noisy unless you are a night owl. We also experienced a bizzare incident in the basement where the fitness center and "employee only" room is. The walls in the fitness center were vibrating with loud music which we originally thought was from the nightclub next door, but as we further investigated, it was coming from the employee area filled with a group of party goers and lots of cigarette smoke. My advice is to stay out of the basement. The Hotel looks nice on the inside as it is newly refinished, but the cramming of rooms lacks the space and comfort of the average BW. The halls are very narrow with low ceilings and the "upgraded" king suite we asked for was no larger than a microtel. We could not even walk between the bed and the TV with a piece of luggage. We had to stack everything on the one chair. Very limited space. Not for extended stays.

"A+++++"

I can't say enough about how great this place rates... #1 Kudos to Everyone at this hotel great service etc.... They are truly a Class 1 act.... I would recommend this place for business and pleasure..

"Bugs in bathroom and dirty, stained blanket on bed"
jerrzgrl, 24 Octobre 2017

I would never recommend or stay in this hotel again. There were bugs on the bathroom floor when we arrived; I took a picture. We were rushed getting ready for a wedding reception and I did not report this until the following morning. I also didn't see the stains on the blanket until then. A supervisor came to our room on Sunday morning and charted the bugs, then cleaned them up exclaiming "yuck". She was to report this to a manager. We have yet to hear from anyone.

"Not the best hotel"
bruijntje0909, 22 Octobre 2017

I usually have a good experience with Best Western Hotels, not this time though. The room was really small, with no window. There where stains on the bedsheet and there where metal pins sticking out of the bed (on the side of the bed). You could really hurt yourself on this metal if you were not carefull. The towels had black stains (looked like mascara) on it. We where nor able to check in early. The person at the front desk expained to us that check in was at 3 pm and it was not possible to check in earlier. We where able to leave our luggage at the hotel and explore the city untill it was time to chech in. Breakfast was okay, your regular complementary breakfast. The room was very loud, we could hear every word people where saying in the hallway. The hotel is a 15 min walk to the Liberty Hall, and a 5 min walk to reading terminal market. There are better hotels to stay in for the same price.

"Great Stay!"
angelicas46, 16 Octobre 2017

They have friendly staff, a clean room, and good free breakfast with many options. Also checked in early with no problem at all, just had to call before we got there to make sure a room would be ready.

"Little gem near the PA Convention Center"
Occ-Doc16, 12 Octobre 2017

Stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel for a recent conference at the PA Convention Center. This hotel is located within a 10 min walk from the Convention Center and is a good value for the money The staff was exceptional helpful and courteous and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable as well. A nice continental breakfast was served every morning and the hotel provided free Wi-fi.

"Great experience in the City"
S7950PVerins, 10 Octobre 2017

The exterior of the hotel is less than to be desired however the lobby, elevators, room and guest areas are very nice. Good deal for the area. Very convenient to center city and the convention center.

"The staff in one word ghetto"
solt329, 09 Octobre 2017

If you want to stay in the hood this is the perfect place for you. The hotel looks great the staff is disgusting. From thug valets to staff husbands cursing and fighting in the lobby. The sheets on the bed were stained and it took 1 hr for them to bring back my car.

"Not great"
743brendann, 09 Octobre 2017

Convenient location, but the room was tiny and relatively dirty. Also the 7th floor only has one elevator that reaches it, which takes forever to get to you. For the price you can do a lot better than this hotel. Would not go back.

"A nice place!"
Margie D, 03 Octobre 2017

I stayed there and I was impressed. Accommodating staff, clean room, good breakfast. I will stay again when visiting Philly! This property is new, and located near the Convention center. I am glad I selected this hotel.

"Great Experience"
doodka, 02 Octobre 2017

I arrived around 1 AM, the clerk was awesome and got us checked in in no time. Also explained where to park in this busy place. The room was abviously after renovation and everything smelled great like new. There was some commotion near our room in the corridor but that was just a small interruption which died quickly. All was very comfortable.

The moment we walked in i felt the love in the atmosphere, the staff were not only polite but courteous and welcoming. The location is awesome because we had the access to navigate lots of city centers and tourist attractions. I had a really great time and i forget to add the breakfast was amazing.

"Great location "
Leroy Z, 26 Septembre 2017

Went here for a weekend and had a great time, had a nice little breakfast and a cool little bar that had good company. I really liked this place and would come back again. I liked that it had valet also is always a plus...

"Loved this place! Great location, great price, helpful and polite staff, well maintained rooms"
StanleyDavis, 24 Septembre 2017

This place was amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the check-in was exceptional. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The beds were soo comfortable. Loved it! The AC unit was very quiet, high-speed internet, and the fitness center was very impressive. The location is great too! And the breakfast was the best I have had for quite a while. Highly recommend this place to everyone. Will definitely be coming back!

"Location is Good"
margaretbV6882AL, 22 Septembre 2017

This Best Western allows you to walk to most of the main historical attractions near the Liberty Bell. The location was convenient but is in a sketchy part of town. Most of the staff was unconcerned about making an effort but the bar staff and some of the breakfast staff were very friendly.

"Amazing place"
AliciaBryan, 18 Septembre 2017

Quiet, comfortable and clean. Staff service was great, and in walking distance to so many attractions, so I love the location too. Overall this is an awesome place to stay, with fast internet and a great fitness center. Would certainly stay there again and would recommend to my friends and family taking a trip to Philadelphia

"Like staying in downtown Manhattan."
O3526BMrichardj, 16 Septembre 2017

Too bad this facility is in a "tight real estate" area. Everything about it was modern and clean. The staff is great. Great value for the area. The down side is accessibility with only two spaces of street parking to load and unload. Parking is two blocks away - doable except it is also $20/day. If disabled they will gladly valet your vehicle for $35. I should have found accommodations on the outskirts of town as the driving would have been cheaper. Don't let them give you a front room as the highway noise will keep you awake.

"Made our holidays bestest than ever!"
Waheed S, 15 Septembre 2017

We checked in at the hotel. It was midnight and we were stressed and they presented with a great feast, of-course everyone likes to eat when they're tired af. A They offer great services the staff services are exceptional. One thing that bothers me while booking hotels for holidays is they don't offer my desired cleanliness, but it is something different. We booked 2 rooms for they were well-furnished plus with high speed internet. Though, we woke up in the morning and the thing that made our day was breakfast <3. One of the best breakfast I had on a trip. Their fitness center is furnished with advanced machines and we had one or two sessions there - it was fun. After visiting tourist places like Philadelphia Museum of Art, the banners foundation and Eastern State Penitentiary, luxury services at hotel was the foundation of our great trip. One of the best hotel in Philadelphia. Highly recommended!

"Good hotel, convenient"
Virginatraveler, 14 Septembre 2017

We spent two nights in September booking here because it was cheaper and many in old city were booked. It turned out to be an excellent choice. It was a reasonable walk to the old city - about 12 blocks to the main museums. The hotel was very comfortable. I saw complaints about the elevator but the slow elevator is the only one available to the top - 7th floor. We were on the 6th floor and two of the three elevators were fast. They have a good breakfast (oatmeal, eggs, fruit, bagles, waffles) 24 hour coffee and water in the lobby plus coffee maker in the room. Everything was fine and the staff was very pleasant. They have two computers and a printer for guest use in the lobby. My internet phone connection was not great but I used it effectively to get to my email and to call an uber on departure. The hotel computers were better to read the news. Some others complained that it seemed dangerous on the street. We didn't find that to be so. There were some homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk next to the convention center (which you pass from the hotel) but none of them asked for money or bothered us. It is close to the vibrant city center from 13th to 17th st on Chestnut, close to two catholic churches, and close to the Reading food market where you have a choice of many types of meals at a reasonable (though not super cheap) price. Parking is expensive (at least $20/day) but you wouldn't really want a car for the central city or old city so we took the train to 30th street ($8 to the hotel by taxi or uber). I would recommend eating somewhere around Chestnut street 13th to 17th street to see a more vibrant city than the old city and a wide range of options, such as the Reading food market during the day or a top restaurant like Davios at night.

"Not for me"
janettJ2213AS, 13 Septembre 2017

When I pulled up to this hotel, I did not want to stay there. This hotel is just off the highway in a very seedy area. I asked the front desk if I could get out of my reservation but they refused and there was no supervisor for me to speak to. The room was very small and cramped for 2 people with 2 double beds. There was a small L-shaped alcove that was useless. It had a window that looked into a dirty, dusty unused hallway. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom updated. The worst was parking. The front desk gave us a small hand drawn "map" of where to park 2 blocks away. Well we could not find the parking lot. The area was so seedy that I was afraid my car would be missing it's tires if I left it there. So we drove to my daughters area and found an on the street parking spot where we felt comfortable parking. We used Lyft the rest of our stay. I was charged $400/night because there was a concert in the area. I will never stay there again and advise you not to also.

"Excellent Breakfast Hotel"
Scott P, 13 Septembre 2017

We find this hotel very cozy and great staffing. Our breakfast was excellent!! The room was compact but clean. The location is very close to PA Convention center and most attractions. I found the internet is very fast which enable me to have a virtual meeting oversea.

"Good hotel Not so good parking"
edbE9642NQ, 13 Septembre 2017

I stayed for a concert. used reward points. The hotel was clean and updated. The parking is a private lot several blocks away. Valet was an option I did not use. $20 self $35 valet. Not the best parking area at night

"Good quality place"
Blair1982, 10 Septembre 2017

Good quality place to stay, 5 mins walk from city centre. We had a city facing view which was nice, rooms were near and tidy, bathrooms massive and clean. Shop in hotel is reasonably priced aswell. Breakfast wasn't great but not bad.

"Great Find in Philadelphia"
russellc351, 07 Septembre 2017

The hotel is a great find comfortable and clean. Very good amenities. Bar Lounge in the lobby great bartenders Uvbi and Eric. Front Office staff does a good job. The area you can see is being rejuvenated so it is a great pearl in the location.

"I appreciated the complimentary tea"
Yonah9, 01 Septembre 2017

The space in the lobby was nice. There's a large area with a bar where you can hang out and get tea or coffee. The rooms were small and the two-bed rooms were double beds not queen-sized, which wasn't what our family of four was looking for. There wasn't a window either, except to a faux hallway for light. The internet worked but it was spotty. The workout room was 24/7 and had everything we needed plus more. The price was great and it was close to everything we wanted to see. The staff were nice. It was a little but of a hassle because there was some construction on the road in front. The free breakfast got delayed a bit and was ok. There's no on-site parking but you can pay to park around the corner or use valet through the hotel.

"Priceline hotel"
cgl853, 31 Août 2017

Convenient location to center city. Friendly and helpful check in staff. Room was adequate. Clean with comfortable beds. Bathroom design was cramped. Toilet behind door so door had to be closed to use toilet. Breakfast was ok. No eggs or similar protein. For a BW Plus I would have expected better. Breakfast room chairs in need of cleaning or reupholstering. Badly stained. Got this hotel on Priceline, so not sure I would stay here again.

"Don't judge book by cover"
M7954YI, 30 Août 2017

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is great and the staff even better. Hot breakfasts in morning were filling. Staff always said hi. Staff was very friendly and caring. They got to know why we were there (medical reasons) and made good luck signs for us the day of the surgery. So sweet!

"Great price, conveniently located, nice room, friendly staff"
Christine L, 29 Août 2017

Great stay for 3 days and 2 nights. Welcoming and helpful staff, answered all my questions. Conveniently located to many restaurants and sights in Philadelphia. The room was clean and comfortable, nice sized bed! I enjoyed my stay and will return if I'm in the area.

"Wonderful Hotel"
Katrina D, 23 Août 2017

Great rooms, very clean. Great rates. Excellent service. Booked over the phone Management was a big help. Staff was very nice warm and friendly. Very easy check out. I loved the complimentary breakfast. Very convenient. Would recommend this establishment.

"Excellent place to stay"
654lorrainek, 23 Août 2017

Great place to stay, very close to all attractions in Philadelphia and the staff is amazing! Breakfast made more options than I anticipated and was delicious and the specials at the lounge were such a great deal. I would recommend to stay here when you visit Philadelphia, it does not get better than the service here :)

"Great hotel in Philly! "
Shelbebear, 08 Août 2017

Great location - super centrally located and walking distance to a ton of area attractions. Quick Uber rides will get you basically anywhere in the city. Super clean rooms, friendly staff, and the free hot breakfast saved me money everyday. I'll definitely be back!

"Best Western turn very Bad Western the night of the 30 of July 2017."
Matmata, 30 Juillet 2017

This hotel is located near the center, however the room on the front of the hotel very noisy so for a good night of sleep better luck next time. The neighborhood not a walk in the park. The poor services from the " Manager " the night we where there. Explanations are minimum, poor documentation for the tourist, no parking as advise at the hotel. And for a "HOTEL Convention Center" don't expect proper wifi connection if you need to work, it is so unstable to make a reservation on booking.com it took me 1 hrs. The "Manager" told us that instability is normal in big hotel or it could be chrome or our device. So I think the poor guy don't know what he is talking about. Hummmm! Don't recommande this hotel ..... Just hope breakfast will be ok

"Fun in Philly!!"
Diane M, 28 Juillet 2017

We were in town to see the Astros play the Phillies. The hotel is about 2 blocks from the train station. The train station lets you off at the ball park. The walk to the stadium is a bit over a 1/4 of a mile, but an easy walk. It's all inside a big parking lot. You are also not far from all the history in Philadelphia!

"Inconvenient hotel"
NittanyLion70, 17 Juillet 2017

Inconvenient location adjacent to Vine St. XWay Room was OK Bed was comfortable Shower never got warm I like the make your own waffles for breakfast $35 for valet parking a bit steep I would not walk there at night

"Just remember your in a big city"
James H, 13 Juillet 2017

This hotel was nice, The room was very good and sometimes that is all that matters. It is a long way from Center City and the historical district. You must walk a long way to get to any decent eating place. Dinner was the worst experience because of the walking distances. If you want to see the city and spend the day site seeing take the double decker open air bus tour. You can get on and off all day long. Best transportation around. And this hotel can help you get there.

"Beautiful Hotel"
collinsc695, 11 Juillet 2017

Great Staff, Good location very convenient and accessible to transportation and City Center. This allowed driving to be easy in and out. The parking lot is two short block behind the hotel. So the website is as accurate as the information given at check in

"Dirty, noisy rooms, inconvenient parking"
Barry G, 10 Juillet 2017

See accompanying pictures. This is a dirty, poorly maintained hotel. We booked two rooms—both were dark and dank, with inoperable windows. One room was so noisy from ventilation sounds in the walls that we had to move to another room; also, the toilet paper dispenser and the soap dish in the shower were broken. The carpet in all three rooms bore stains. The hinges on the door two doors down from our rooms squeaked so loudly every time someone opened or closed the door that it sounded like a woman screaming. From our rooms, we could hear the constant ding from the elevators at either end of the hallway. Both of the young ladies staffing the front dest were in training, as attested by their name tags, but they were the hotel's best asset, friendly and helpful, if somewhat unaccustomed to procedure. If you stay here and own/rent a car, prepare for an additional fee of $20/day for self-park or $35/day for valet service. Patriot Car Park is 4 blocks from the hotel, so you'll have a hike if you self-park and a tedious wait if you valet park. The employees of the car park speak little English. Despite what they'll tell you at the hotel, there is no easy method of coming and going from this lot. The attendant has to be involved each time; you have to track him down and explain that you're staying at the hotel and you paid for X number of days. The ticket that they give you will not scan for automatic entry or exit. This was a business trip, and we had originally planned to stay at this hotel for 3 nights, but left after two. The hotel gave us a refund, of course; we've yet to see one from Patriot Parking. Also be aware that the walk from the hotel's front door to the car park will take you through a tough neighborhood, where you'll be stepping over drunks and druggies sleeping one off in the middle of the sidewalks.

"Convenient location"
Marcela D, 06 Juillet 2017

We stayed in this hotel for one night. It is conveniently located downtown. You won't be able to walk from here to attractions, but it is a short drive away. The hotel has been recently remodeled. The service was good and most importantly the room was clean. Just FYI, the hotel is located in a developing area, so it might look a bit sketchy for a couple of blocks and then it gets nicer. Parking is separate from the room cost. It is about $20 and you will need to walk a couple of blocks.

"Nice"
Robin P, 04 Juillet 2017

Had a wonderful stay. Room and bathroom was clean, bed was comfortable nice and quite. Breakfast was excellent. Everyone was nice;we have no complains. would stay again. I would like to thank the guys that parked/retrieved our car. They had to walk a few blocks to park/retrieved your car. I would recommend you paid for parking especially if you not familiar with the area.

"New hotel very clean and convenient to downtown Philadelphia"
Judith K, 03 Juillet 2017

Great location, clean and new, very friendly staff. They include a full breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Only real problem is parking. They have no parking so have to park in a public lot which is secured with a fence and attendant. But ti is a 2+ block walk. Going back and forth to the car was a problem. However, the cleanliness and friendliness of this hotel offsets the parking issue which is not an uncommon problem in every big city. I would recommend this hotel highly. It is a short walk to the bus for the night tour of Philly which is highly recommended.

"Staff great, but rooms not clean"
Bbqbee, 26 Juin 2017

The location and staff were very nice. Helped my son with his gluten free breakfast options. (chex cereal, eggs, apples, yogurt and toast.) One of the towels had hair in them. The room smelled like someone had just smoked pot in it. The light from the hallway comes through the frame of the door, and it is pretty disturbing. The shower is set up so that you can't adjust the water temperature without getting sprayed with ice cold water. Not a nice way to wake up.

Great location! Busy area but it offered lots of sight seeing and places to eat within walking distance! Two blocks to Reading Market and Chinatown. Shopping within walking distance. The Liberty Bell within walking distance. Great Food nearby! Uber was on point!

"Clean, Spacious Rooms with great service!"
CautiousTraveler09, 19 Juin 2017

"Best Western Plus Philadelphia Convention Center "
fiveboysandagirl, 08 Juin 2017

Great place! Lobby is clean and modern, well kept... the rooms are just enough they are not huge but they are quaint and well appointed. The property is well maintained. Comfortable beds and pillows. You have in room coffee and refrigerator. No microwave... but they serve complementary breakfast and in lobby. The location is good the price is great! It's a short walk to center city, convention center, city hall, Reading terminal market and many other attractions. Not much in the immediate area for food so you need to travel but again not too far 10 min walk. Parking is a couple block walk for 24 hour park it's only 20$ not bad for here! They offer valet parking for 35$ also. Staff is friendly and accommodating. There is a bar open till 11 but $$$ 15$ for two imported beer but it's the city and your in a hotel so yeah ... over all great stay great place, 100$ less then 6 minutes away so hey, we all can use the little extra exercise so I say go for it !!!

"Awful."
achupik, 06 Juin 2017

I literally just created a trip advisor account so I could drag this hotel through the mud. The internet didn't work, the phone didn't work, the fitness center had equipment from god only knows how many years ago. When I checked out I gave the front desk two best western travel/gift cards to pay for my stay. 5 business days later I look at my credit card statement and they charged my credit card anyway even though I used best western gift cards to pay for my stay. Absolutely terrifying. I am in the process of fighting them tooth and nail to get my money back and nobody cares. I called yesterday, someone said they'd look into it and call me back but they never called me back. I called today, told the same story all over again to a different representative, she said she'd call me back never did. I'm calling them everyday and I will happily trash them on every travel website.

"modern lobby"
danielmB1375KO, 06 Juin 2017

modern lobby with cool looking lounge ,very expensive cocktails and beer, hotel staff including housekeeping could use more oversight as we found some profound rudeness and walked into a very dirty bathroom floor. Also housekeeping did not makeup our room for two days.perhaps this was one time thing, not sure.

"Nice location, but a number of problems"
O3798EFserenac, 30 Mai 2017

This hotel is very close to a number of attractions, which is a bonus. The hotel seems to be relatively new and the breakfast was delicious. But we encountered a number of problems. The shower stall leaked great amounts of water whenever anyone used it, leaving the floor soaking wet. The carpet near the air conditioning was constantly damp. Housekeeping did a poor job of restocking our towels and toilet paper. The couple next to us started arguing at 2am and it took two calls to the front desk to finally get them to stop, but this was not until one hour later. The surrounding area is a bit sketchy. So long story short is I'm doubtful we will return to this hotel.

"Awful customer service. Not a good experience"
Julio H, 29 Mai 2017

The customer service at the reception was awful, with disrespectful people and not helpful at all. It wasn't very clean, a mediocre breakfast, bad location with nothing to eat close to the hotel and expensive parking.

"It's an option"
TravelGavin, 26 Mai 2017

The Good - clean hotel, clean rooms, staff is pretty friendly. good rate for being near downtown Philadelphia and the hotel seems to honor a lot of discount codes you find on some booking sites. if you're driving, seems pretty easy to get to, close to easy to navigate roads and you miss a lot of the b.s. happening in some parts of center city because of construction. The Ok - it's about 10 minutes extra walking to get here from anywhere compared to other convention center hotels. sometimes when you're hungry or on a mission, you just don't want to deal with those 10 minutes. The Bad - room service kept taking my clean towels and leaving me with dirty linens. would only find this out after i came back from a long day at work, staff downstairs told me the housekeeping crew has to take care of that and had gone for the day. uh....right. wifi did not work. not a deal breaker for me since most of my work was able to be done via phone, tablet and off site, but if you're here for work and need to plug in, in the room to get work done good luck with that. The Ugly - room was freezing. no one seemed to know or care how to fix this. i have it on heat, on 90, on high fan and i'm grabbing the sheets off the OTHER bed because i'm freezing. Suggested Improvements - the lobby coffee and hot water are nice but it would be nice if say the juice machine was accessible throughout the day. perhaps ice tea in the summer?

"Horrible breakfast"
Peter N, 26 Mai 2017

Room was OK, but it was really one of the worst breakfast experience in my life. Only one person replenishing the stuff, so there was nothing available. No bread, juice was just water, no plates and cups. Once something was replenished, people were WAITING for food in queue, like in canteen for homeless. Replenished bread was still frozen. HORRIBLE

"Great location, very good value, and friendly and helpful staff!"
Joyce And David L, 24 Mai 2017

We were in Philly for a wedding and needed a property that would meet the needs of season and senior travelers to a young family with children. Somewhat hesitant, after reading reviews along with the hotel website and talking with personnel answering the phones, we selected this property for convenience, price, and the breakfast amenity. Upon entering the lobby, we knew that we made a great choice. The lobby was so clean it sparkled! The desk personnel were welcoming and helpful, and when we got to the room we were delighted that it was clean, charming, and well appointed! This property is also within walking distance of the Reading Terminal, which gave us a great option to visit for a quick meal on the day of arrival. The person at the bar was knowledgeable (someone ordered a Tom Collins and she knew how to make it!), resourceful (helped us to order a meal for delivery that arrived before I could run to the room to get my wallet), and entertaining. And while they had two large groups there -- very young cheerleaders and a sports team, the hotel was quiet and the help insured that food was plentiful when the hungry travelers descended on the breakfast area minutes before closing. And BTW, when my husband and I teased the lead manager for the location of my favorite department stores, the manager told me to hold on and returned with a handwritten list of malls and stores to facilitate my shopping. The Best Western has done a paradigm shift from previous experiences and we will continue to find their properties.

"Great New Hotel near Convention Center"
fxwang, 19 Mai 2017

On the north end of Center City and between the Schuylkill and Delaware rivers, we enjoyed strolling through the city from Independence Park to Ben Franklin Parkway. Dining, Shopping, History, and Museums. My wife and toddler enjoyed their first weekend trip to Philly, despite the Nor'easter.

"Excellent staff and hotel"
march372017, 18 Mai 2017

The staff at this hotel prove that Philadelphia is indeed the City of Brotherly Love. Every employee was highly attentive and also very FRIENDLY! The rooms were well appointed and immaculate. After a long hot day walking through the city, a desk clerk named Kevin saw how warm I was and bought me a bottle of cold water. That level of caring I have never experienced in all my travels. This hotel, manager, and employees are a credit to the Best Western brand. In my opinion, they wrote the book on hospitality. If you visit Philadelphia, PA, stay here.

"Confortable "
Stere D, 17 Mai 2017

Bean tare for one night. Close to the city center, 5 minute walk, BEST breakfast in the State of Pensilvania:) strongly recomend. The staff was very helpfull and nice. We were woried because is close to the highway, but it was very quiet.

"Relaxing getaway"
Celina M, 16 Mai 2017

I loved this hotel. The location was not so great but the staff made up for it. I got at the hotel at 2am and someone was there to help. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The really liked the breakfast. It was a very relaxing weekend.

"Average overall"
Duncan2006, 16 Mai 2017

To be fair, I must say that the hotel was generally clean and tidy with friendly staff. However, this seven story hotel had several problems I could not ignore. The elevator was painfully slow. The "smart card" room key failed to work twice during my four night stay which then required trips to the front desk (using the slow elevator) to get the key to work. The room windows, although equipped with screens, do not open at all, no opportunity for a bit of fresh air. The buffet breakfast had no water in the beverage selection. There were no newspapers available, although the in-room guide describing guest amenities clearly stated they were. Finally, a specific request to have the bed linens changed after three nights was not fulfilled although I had been personally assured that it would be done. Unless these issues are resolved, I would not stay here again.

"Great value"
E8014FJdonaldh, 10 Mai 2017

It was a nice hotel for a great price. No problems at all, fast check-in and check out, clean rooms. Parking lot is a little bit of a walk which was not ideal but it was fine. The staff were very curtious and helpful. Amenities looked good, fitness center, etc., but I didn't use them

"It's a good hotel"
L725LBfrankb, 06 Mai 2017

Service was excellent. Rooms were clean. Only problem is not enough fruit and less pork products for guests. Some folks don't particularly eat meat. So it should be other options to accommodate them. Overall great place to stay.

"Nice Surprise"
PghCritic, 02 Mai 2017

I was a bit skeptical initially about staying at a Best Western but it was a great choice! This property is new and is very close to the Convention Center and China town area. You are within walking distance to downtown sites and restaurants. It is along a busy street but on the 7th floor did not hear traffic. Heard people talking in hallway but that is typical in most hotels. Room was clean and comfortable with room to walk around and store items away. The only thing is the elevator is really slow, so give yourself time. The breakfast options were plentiful for vegetarians and carnivores. Staff were friendly and assisted with obtaining a taxi quickly. Would definitely stay there again. Make sure that if you want a room with a window that you ask. If you keep the blinds/curtains pulled down in your room, then staying in one of the middle rooms most likely will not be a problem.

"Mostly great hotel!"
WanderingMom33, 01 Mai 2017

Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would give it four or maybe even five stars. The location is great, the rooms are nice and overall clean. They have a good breakfast, the wifi worked well, etc. However, we had some housekeeping issues that were not resolved very well. We stayed for a total of four nights. On the second and third nights, we had a couple things happen, one night we returned to found our towels had been changed and the trash had been empty but the beds had not been made. We decided it was because we had left clothing on the bed and let it go. Another night, we returned to find that our room had been properly serviced but the toilet paper had not been replaced even though it was practically empty. We called down and asked for more which was delivered promptly. These two things alone were not a big enough deal to complain about in the moment. The fourth and final night, we returned to the room at about 5pm after having been gone since 10am to discover that our room had not been serviced by housekeeping at all. We went down to the desk to ask why our room hadn't been serviced yet and were given the impression that we would get housekeeping services soon. So, we went to dinner. When we came back at about 7pm, the room had still not been cleaned. We called the front desk and were told that they could bring us clean towels and anything else we needed but would not be getting housekeeping as it was after 5pm. No one seemed to be able to tell us why we hadn't received housekeeping. After our stay, I received a survey from Best Western about our visit and told this story. I completed the survey over a week ago and still have not heard back from anyone at the hotel. I'm sad to have to write this review as I really liked the hotel very much but this incident and the way it was handled did not sit well with me.

"Good Enough For What It Was For"
Katie R, 30 Avril 2017

We were only there for one night and all we needed was a clean, safe place to sleep. We had that. The parking is off-site and annoying. But it is located very close to downtown which is handy. The staff was VERY friendly. The hotel and rooms were clean. Oddly the door made a very loud creaking noise but that is seriously a reach for a complaint.

"Hotel"
T1630GGdianeb, 27 Avril 2017

This hotel, including its amenities, staff and services were all very positive, and the hotel's proximity to the convention center was convenient. However, the immediate neighborhood appeared to be somewhat sketchy.

"Convention Center Convenience"
659dainap, 27 Avril 2017

This shiny and new hotel is a very short walk to the convention center as well as great dining options in Chinatown and Reading Market. Easy walk to Logan Square and other attractions. The neighborhood felt a bit sketchy but there were always people around so I felt pretty safe.

"Noise and non-clean hotel"
Mei20002015, 20 Avril 2017

We checked in at 12am. The door was locked from inside and the staff finally responded to the buzz after we tried a few time. A few people who already checked in could not get in with their card either. It took us 15 mins to check in. The room was not very clean and the carpet looked dirty. We could hear the phone rings from next door and footsteps from the hallway until 2am ish. The breakfast was horrible as nothing was available. It was not even 9am, all hot stuff was gone and no milk or juice was available. I would not come back to this hotel and would not recommend this one to anyone. I was so disappointed by this one and even canceled another reservation I made with best western plus in another city.

"Best western plus"
deborahq262, 17 Avril 2017

Be careful when looking for the address. The hotel is nested in the middle of the block. Once you get past the exterior, the inside of the hotel looks very modern and rooms are very clean and updated.

"Philadelphia Fun"
jhuerta2017, 15 Avril 2017

Located in a quiet area of city center with easy access to all sites. Centrally located within walking distance to Reading Terminal Market was definately a plus. New property with clean rooms and helpful staff.

"Outstanding hotel!"
Jean M, 12 Avril 2017

I really have to say this is a really good deal, price vs. quality! I have to recommend this hotel, excellent rooms, and really good service!!! If you're in Philadelphia you should give it a try, you won't regret

"Great place, decent prices"
Cyrus B, 07 Avril 2017

Nice place, very clean and nice presentation. You might want to book directly with them as they don't have a system in place for adding Expedia or other booking sites to their system. Took about 30 minutes to check in and get my room.

"Horrible customer service "
MonAndCo, 05 Avril 2017

I spent 4 nights in this hotel and it was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. My friend and I shared a room and for the first 3 nights we were stuck in a room with no heat. We contacted customer service and sent an "engineer" to fix the issue. He claimed it was fixed but once returned to the hotel hours later after a rainy day it was still cold. We asked to have the room inspected again and a hotel employee said something was wrong with the heat and that he would send someone but no one ever showed up. The next morning my friend woke up sick. We demanded to have the room changed and the two employees at the front desk just argued with one another and did not apologize for the inconvenience. They finally moved us to another room and once got there the room was occupied by another person I almost walked in on them. We then sat in the hallway with all of our bags packed for over 20 mins while they figured out where to put us. They finally found a room for us on the last night. They said management would be available on date of checkout to talk about our concerns but no one was available. Throughout this ordeal no one who worked on the hotel apologized for what we were going through. Stay away from this hotel!! You will be one dissatisfied customer.

"Newer Property, Some Kinks, but Good"
shannonmN2930MK, 04 Avril 2017

Newer hotel only a few blocks from the convention center. Kareem and Uvbi were extremely professional! Fitness center, comfortable bar, and nice breakfast area. Walking distance to many attractions and taxi/Uber's always nearby.

"Worst experience"
Sasha S, 02 Avril 2017

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for a conference. I had the worst customer service experience at this hotel. The hotel is new so it looks nice on the inside. However when we checked in they gave us a room with a defective heater. So we were without heat in that room for three nights, they sent an "engineer" to have it fixed but he never fixed it. It wasn't until after several complaints they decided to change our room stating that the heater is defective. Sleeping in the cold room lead to me getting sick because it was so freezing in that room. They changed our room from the second floor to the fourth floor. They gave us the keys to a room, when we opened the door that room was occupied with other people. We felt terrible that we were given keys to a room that was occupied. We called them stating that the room was occupied. We waited in the lobby with our luggage for about 30-45 minutes before they can find us an unccupied room, By this time, I had just about enough of this hotel so we had requested a refund. They stated they can't give us a refund and they can only offer us 20% off of one night. So I called corporate and filed a complaint. I will never stay at that hotel again and I'm definitely not recommending that anyone stays there. They have horrible customer service and they're not apologetic at all after all their wrong doings. We requested to speak to a manager they said the manager would be working at 7am the next day but when we asked to speak to her around 8am they said she wasn't in yet. This has been the worst hotel experience ever.

"Nice stay at the Best Western Philadephia Conference Hotel"
Tonya M, 02 Avril 2017

A colleague and I stayed at this hotel for a very large convention, we were pleased to be able to check in early, had an amazing room with a great view and comfy beds. No bathtub, but I knew that going in, but would have been nice with sore feet from all the walking. Only about a 5 min walk to the conference center, and overall we (two women) felt safe walking back and forth together. Breakfast was standard for Best Western, and fairly well stocked. We were early risers so not too crowded most days. I would stay here again for a conference, it was a great value compared to other similar places to stay.
