Best Western Petaluma Inn

I've been staying here for 10+ years...still great for the price. My recent stay was this past Sunday night for only $73, including taxes! PROS: -Clean, modern, decent sized room(consider the price!) -Big LCD TV, Microwave, Fridge, Coffee maker. -Complimentary breakfast still includes, waffles, eggs and bacon -Great price! -Friendly staff CONS: -No cons for me...but if you're a yuppy or trust fund baby you'll probably want to stay at the nearby Sheraton or Marriot, and pay 2-4X more.

This motel is perfectly located for easy access to Hwy 101 north and south. We have stayed at this motel many times over the past 20+ years. We have found it to be consistently clean, orderly and well maintained. The only negatives have been when the place was filled with younger folks on sports steams. We recommend this motel .

The hotel is an older Best Western and most of the people staying there were construction workers. But, they were quiet, respectful, and all in all it is a darn good hotel. The breakfast was free and very nice. I liked staying there.

I have never stayed at a hotel that had so many smiling employees! The girl who checked us in…the girl who checked us out were so very nice. Room was good and bed was good. The girl in the Breakfast Room would make you think you were staying at a $500/night hotel! She not only made the food, but everything was 100% stocked the entire time, she refilled drinks, helped with preparing food and cleaned your table!!!! Have NEVER had that at another hotel! The manager surely must be doing something right!

Always our go to when we visit Petaluma. Staff is always nice and welcoming. I recommend Best Western in Petaluma 100%. Breakfast was good. The little lady in the breakfast room is always sweet as can be as well.

I've stayed at BW Petaluma a half dozen times over the last few years, this one didn't measure up to the others. The employees are very friendly, especially the cheerful young lady in the breakfast area during the week. But we had no hot water one morning for our shower, the TV buffered often, and our room key wouldn't open the pool gates to allow us entry, even the front desk attendant couldn't unlock the pool gate with her key. Also, the hall leading to the rooms above the reception area (the king rooms) had very dirty, spoiled, worn carpeting that needs to be replaced 2 years ago. Usually really like this hotel, but it wasn't that great this time.

Have stayed several times in past 3 months. Rooms well kept and they do have pet friendly rooms (including cats!) Which are really reg rooms on 1st floor which show no evidence of pets having been there. Furnishings are nice, bathroom modern, heat/air and internet worked great. Restaurant next door and walking distance to stores.

Great location, clean room, very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again. The breakfast lady is super friendly and helpful. Front desk ladies had great attitudes. Cleaning ladies very accomodating.

This hotel is configured like an older motel with two 2-story buildings, not one enclosed building. Friendly front desk check-in. The room is quite large with a refrigerator and small microwave and has comfortable beds. The bath doesn't have a tub, just an enclosed shower. There is daily maid service. The free breakfast was a disappointment - no hot food, no yogurt. There are 2 waffle machines, cereal, toast, pastry, coffee, tea, some apples and bananas. A big downside was that the wifi was so weak in the room that it didn't function. The hotel is located close to shopping.

Overall our 2 day stay was quiet and convenient. Great location to freeways and shopping with various restaurants and stores nearby. Breakfast is offered although it's not a full breakfast bar. Eggs and proteins are replaced with the choice of 2 frozen breakfast burritos. However, the waffle bar is still offered. Nice breakfast room to enjoy breakfast.

Stayed 2 nights while visiting our grand daughters and the Inn was very centrally located. Played in pool with family and had a great time. Overall would stay at the Best Western Petaluma again and would recommend to family and friends as a comfortable location to stay.

It was a stormy night but I was treated with respect and kindness for the duration of my stay. My room was very comfortable. I really appreciate the professional service and a clean and dry place to spend the night - thank you.

Extremely clean, well-appointed room. Bed was comfortable. Perhaps a down-filled pillow would have been a nice addition, though the multiple available foam pillows were overall quite satisfactory. Parking was easily accessible as was the next-door restaurant which was of excellent quality.

Worst breakfast we have had at any of the many Best Westerns we have stayed at. Oatmeal not fresh, it's instant. No eggs, no meat. Package breakfast burritos that no one eats. They run out of many breads and pastries on Saturday and Sunday and have to wait until Monday to refill. TV on so loud that everyone is forced to listen to it, even if they don't like what's on. I made these comments to them months ago and they have made no changes. Rooms are very clean and well maintained.

This is an older property that has been recently renovated. While it does show it's age the owners have done a great job of making it as attractive as possible. There is a good restaurant on the property with a mall across.the street.

If you are planning on staying a night in Petaluma, I recommend you check out another property. Spend the extra however many dollars and actually get a good night sleep. My partner and I stayed here during a road trip and after the night we had we would have been better off trying to drive through the night. The walls are paper thin and the windows hold back 0 sound. You'll hear yelling, thumping around, traffic sounds, honking, among other things. The staff were great but that's the only positive think that came from this stay. Spend your money elsewhere.

This Best Western was clean, with friendly staff. We have stayed here many times. It is by a busy street to their is some road noise. Check in and check out was very easy. The breakfast selection could have been better. Overall we would stay here again.

We spent three nights in two different rooms. Upon check in the first night, we were given a room that smelled horribly of some detergent the chain required that this hotel branch use. Fortunately, after making a bit of a fuss we were given another room that smelled better. This hotel is decent. The beds are comfy and the rooms are functional and clean. Everything worked. Normal price a bit expensive for what you get, but then again, the hotel is in The SF Bay Area. We got a good discount through Tripadvisor Plus, which I recommend for frequent travelers. Issues were the smell of the cleaning fluid used in the first room we were given. Also, the hotel does not supply bottled drinking water for love or money. But there is a supermarket across the street where you can buy it. All in all, an economical base for exploring the surrounding sights.

I grew up in this town, so this place is historical to my youth so I am drawn to it when I return home but I believe its a bit overpriced based on other BW in the Western States. but with the homeless problems in California, this is a SAFE PLACE to stay. Morning breakfast is limited choices but the staff is there to accommodated and help making it quite pleasant start to the morning. Office staff has been there for a few years so they know what they are doing and make checkin and out quick

We stayed 2 nights due to work. My wife was able to check in early which was great as she had zoom meetings. The room was large and comfortable. The gotel itself was clean and I. A decent location. Staff was great and we would stay again.

I don't know why this place has good reviews. It's very average with shower only but the worst part is the rooms smell and it is nestled in between the highway and another very busy street so street noise is horrendous. Seriously this is a 3 star at best.

The Staff at the front desk during the day was very friendly and I was friendly in, in no time. The room was clean with plenty of room. I really like the restaurant that is on the same property. The food is wonderful, and it is about a 4 minute walk if you are real slow like me.

The Best Western Petaluma gives the traveler an excellent place to stay at a reasonable rate. The amenities are first-class, albeit without frills. The staff is very helpful and omnipresent, and the rooms are cleaned perfectly every day.

Everyone on staff was so friendly and helpful. Located right by hwy 101 but didn't hear any of the heavy traffic. Good breakfast choices for most. Swimming pool looked very inviting. I would stay here again.

Light switch by door needs to be replaced. Stair tread are so narrows as to be a bit dangerous going down. Breakfast utterly lacking in protein; just bread and sugar. On last night of our stay someone tried opening ask doors in our dead end halfway at 11 pm. When I told the desk clerks they were unconcerned. The air conditioner blows quite hard on the person using the desk ALWAYS.

Hotel was very clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Walls were a little thin, but I've definitely stayed at worse. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to others and would stay here again if I ever found myself back in the area!

Clean, friendly, and took care of a minor maintenance issue promptly upon being informed of it. Nothing I wouldn't expect to crop up even in my own home, nor one I'd expect them to notice, but they got it done quickly.

This was a nice clean hotel in Petaluma. I got the 2br apartment in front for a good price. A little noisy in the evening, but besides that it was quiet at night & the mornings. The heated (not hot) salt pool was a favorite for my son. There is a bar adjacent also.

The hotel while very clean and safe is a bit overpriced for what it is. Beds were great. Continental breakfast OK but it was very crowded and it took a fair amount of time to get toasted items. Room clean but it lacked sufficient storage, lighting, electrical outlets, and a room safe. Bathroom was fine but it needed more counter space. For the price their are better choices but it was certainly adequate.

Rooms were very clean and made up each day. Pool was heated as promised. The breakfast buffet could use additional protein. We had a one bed queen room and it was in the small side. There were excellent restaurants within a five minute walk and shopping center was across the street. The HVAC was noisy.

We had plans to be in the area, so I researched the various Best Westerns up and down Hwy 101 and Petaluma seemed like the best fit for us. I was a little concerned about the noise as the hotel is right off 101 and near a busy intersection. We were in the back building closest to the highway and never heard any highway noise. We did hear quite a bit of street noise from the nearby intersection but that subsided as the evening went on and was never a problem. The room and bathroom were nice, a bit small. I think typical of when the hotel was built. Check-in was smooth and efficient. The clerk accepted the BW coupons I had with ease. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast buffet. Your host was GREAT. She served us with style and was attentive to our breakfast needs. A pleasant experience. We will stay here again when we are in the area.

This was the best stay we've ever had at a Best Western! My husband and I (and dog) travel for a living and this place was beautiful and very clean. The landscaping was beautiful, the check-in was great and we were able to check-in early, the breakfast host was phenomenal - she put on a beautiful spread, made the waffles for us and served all the toppings including fresh fruit. She was so warm and welcoming, and really started our day well!

The Best Western Petaluma Inn is our favorite place to stay in Petaluma because of its location and price value. The staff have always been friendly and helpful when we needed something extra or had a minor issue. The adjacent restaurant in very good and we have enjoyed meals there with family. We always request the same room so we cannot comment on upstairs rooms or those with king beds.

My mother and I were staying in Petaluma on a family trip. This hotel was ideal location wise. The hotel Staff are incredibly kind. Housekeeping does a fantastic job. I will absolutely be staying here again!

The staff member who checked us in was awesome- very friendly and went out of his way to allocate us a nice room. Room was lovely and clean. Large, with a mini coffee machine, large enough fridge and a microwave. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet throughout the night. Room also had a private balcony which contained a table and two chairs. Breakfast is the letdown compared to other Best Westerns. Microwaveable cheap pre-packaged frozen burritos, waffles, cereal and pastries. Most annoying was the staff member attending breakfast who would just not leave us alone. Constantly hovering and stepping out in front of us taking over whatever we're doing. Blatantly doing her best to get tips, but just being annoying in the process of. She immediately asked us upon entering if we wanted a waffle, we said not now thanks as we wanted to settle down with a coffee first. A bit later my wife goes to make a waffle, the attendant grabs everything out of my wife's hand and says in broken English “I ask you before if you want waffle and you say no”. Breakfast should be a tranquil experience one can enjoy at their own pace, and this was not. Seating area was very dark and had a TV on which was set at a loud volume. So a reduced breakfast offering yet again blamed on COVID-19 but with a lady constantly in your face potentially spreading germs.. doesn't really make sense, Best Western! Was going to rate 4 stars until this breakfast experience.

This Best Western is a well-maintained property. Room amenities include a "full size mini fridge" and decent wifi connectivity. Although the property is older, rooms have been updated. The only downside is the height of the box xpring and mattress . . . I'm 5'9" tall and it was not exactly easy to get into bed. Shorter persons might have real difficulty.

Room was clean, staff was friendly, lots of food options near by, will be staying here again. The downsides would be the waffles were gross (There is other options) and the street sound was loud during the night.

We stay at a lot of Best Western hotels. This is the most well-tended property we've experienced. The adjacent restaurant on the property, Cafe Bellini, adds to the value. This Best Western has become our favorite in Sonoma County.

Key card never worked. I had to get a new one from the lobby every time I tried to get in my room. Construction in the parking lot. It's a motel not a hotel. The staff was really nice but it's not a great place to stay.

This is an older motel that has been here many years, but it is well-maintained and has all the modern amenities you need. The rooms open directly to the outside, so there are often people walking past your window. The rooms were spacious and ours (room 261) had 2 queen beds, a microwave, refrigerator, desk, bath with shower, and a small nook with a closet. The property had a pool and because of Covid, a limited but adequate breakfast. The parking was tight. The staff was extraordinary. Every time we saw a staff member they greeted us and everyone was helpful. However, there was an offensive odor near the back part of the property where our room was located. The garbage container was in this area and it may have been this container causing the problem. Luckily you couldn't smell this when you were in the room. The next morning the smell had dissipated as the wind was from a different direction. We had trouble getting to this property. We arrived on a Friday around 5:15pm and were coming from the west. Our navigation system had us coming straight down Washington Street to the propery at the corner of McDowell. We spent about 30 minutes waiting to cross a small bridge just before McDowell. It seemed as though everyone in town was trying to get onto this bridge. At every intersection cars on the cross streets were trying to turn onto Washington Street and were tightly pushing their way in and blocking the roadway so when the light turned green on Washington, the cars had no where to go. It was frustrating and there should have been better traffic control. The problem may have been due to Friday rush-hour traffic, but there should have been some type of traffic control to manage this traffic mess. If you don't mind staying in a very busy area, this would be a good choice.

This place exceeded our expectations with the room size, cleanliness, and staff. The breakfast was amazing for covid standards. The room has 2 tvs and a rain shower. The pool was very clean. The propsrty was in a great location for restaurants and the freeway.

This is right off the 101! Very convenient and surprisingly quiet. It is an older property but well maintained. The staff is exceptional! They go out of their way to ensure a great visit! Easy parking and a very nice breakfast set up.

I would give this review 6 stars except for two things: the age of the building and the power outage that occurred while we were there. Overall this motel is clean, the staff are wonderful and the location is a good one. The pool is in good shape and while small, is more than enough for the property. The rooms are very clean, in good shape generally and what you would expect from a BW motel. It is just that everything is quite old and is beginning to cause them problems I think. The cable went out briefly, we had a power outage for a whole and no internet so not able to work, and there was no real urgency to anything. I would stay here again because of the staff and overall cleanliness and maintenance. Just don't expect luxury or brand new amenities. And of course it is expensive which is in line with the hotel prices in the area.

There were ants all over the walls in the restroom, walls by the desk, the desk, and beds. They made their way into our luggage and we had to clean out everything. We got in after 1 am and didn't notice until we woke up. Told the office but they didn't do anything about it.

We stay at Best Western as often as possible. The Petaluma Inn is not one of our favorites. It is an older motel with smallish rooms on a noisy, busy intersection. There are no public restrooms (important for those in need after a long drive or at the pool). The associated restaurant, Cafe Bellini, is good, and the provided breakfast is overseen by a very helpful staff member. In fact, all the staff is responsive to our needs. They do the best they can, considering the age of the building and the location.

This sleep experience was just average. The beds were slightly uncomfortable. The outside noise was not what we wanted. Management worked hard to deal with some bad guests that were smoking weed outside their room and noisy-drunk. I won't hold that against them. Grab n go breakfast was just fair and could have been better but during COVID we have seen so much worse--so okay.

My Stay at the Best Western was so great ! I enjoyed my stay very much. The Rooms are very spacious and very comfortable. The Hospitality Team at the Front Desk has great Customer Service for its guests.

Not sure why they get 1 star. They deserve more! This place was simple but very clean, even had fresh paint inside and out! Even had a small area of pea gravel for dogs to potty supplied with poop bags. We were very pleased! Our room was very quiet. Staff was kind and professional.

The staff and the room both made the stay here very comfortable. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel, same parking lot was very good, very close, and the staff and the food was totally wonderful. I would definitely stay here again when the need arises. Very close to Hwy 101 for easy access. A light sleeper may want to request a room near the lobby due to 101 traffic.

Nice day at the Best Western off the 101 and Petaluma was fantastic not only is it easy to get to but it was in the middle of everything that I need to be close to such as: the bank, Starbucks, there's a Target nearby, and the outlets aren't too far away it's the perfect location for this hotel. The housekeeping was very respectful in terms of not putting my belongings anywhere other than where they were to begin.

I've stayed at the Petaluma Best Western off & on for over 20 yr. It's never let me down. My rooms have always been clean & stocked with everything I need. The location is convenient, quiet, & safe. Staff are responsive & friendly. Their grab & go breakfast has a good selection of choices given the limits placed on them by covid restrictions & there's always several options of fresh fruit available. Staying here is an excellent value.

We usually stream movies when we stay at hotels. WiFi connection was horrible and we had to resort to using our phone data. Fortunately we found a movie to watch on TV. Room was clean but small. Affordable stay during our visit to Bodega Bay and cute downtown Petaluma.

We were welcomed by James at the front desk, he was awesome and very accommodating. The hotel's exterior was clean and well put together. We reserved one room with two king beds and a sofa. The room was way more than we expected and a great deal for the price; it was large in size and amazingly clean. Loved this hotel and will definitely stay here again!

I have stayed here a couple times before and had an average stay, typically 2 - 3 nites. This stay will be my last. I used my senior discount and got a good rate but I think they reserve the worst rooms for this rate. The sink had the hot/cold reversed, almost scalded myself, the shower handle was very loose, difficult to adjust temperature, again,almost scalded myself, no towels in room upon arrival, and the floor and carpet were absolutely filthy. I could go on but I think you get the message.

We stayed at Best Western in Petaluma July 2020. Even though the breakfast room was closed because of the virus, the staff prepared a nice bagged breakfast. The check-in was easy, the room was clean and bed comfortable. We had a large Yukon with kayaks and the check-in person allowed us to park in an extra-large spot right near our room. We would stay here again.

Apparently for the past 4 years I've been staying here every Martin Luther King Jr weekend for Winter Wineland(google it) wine tasting weekend...and this Best Western always seems to be $99 +taxes. And the delicious, thick, juicy, meaty bacon filled breakfast is still what I remember most about this hotel. The bacon at breakfast is the best! And its all you can eat! Sorry Porky! We were driving through Petaluma and chosed the Best Western to stay the night. Yes, the Hotel is close to the highway, but it‘s really quiet. The beds are amazing. Comfy and really high (I like that). The shower was also very good and the breakfast? I don‘t have words for it. The lady at the breakfast place did an amazing job and there was just everything you dream of. Bacon, eggs, waffles, fruits, yoghurt,.... Also the hotel staff was really nice and friendly. Good job!

my rig broke down on a Sunday needed a place to stay that was clean, quiet and near food this best western fit the bill..the front desk lady was very helpful as was the lady that took care of the breakfast room

I was visiting Sonoma/Napa area for a week. This property was the perfect location to make day trips to San Francisco, Sonoma, Napa, and the coast. It was a central place to be for driving to each location. The room was very spacious and clean. The price was so much cheaper than other hotels in Petaluma for the value of this property. At first glance, the hotel looks like an old style motel with outside entrances - it does have this, but don't judge a book by the cover. The rooms are very nice The shower was a very large walk in shower. I would definitely stay here again on a return trip to the area! The included breakfast was great! Plenty of fresh fruit and items to select from. This hotel was a pleasant surprise, and we saved a ton of money staying here!

The rooms were small but delightfully quiet. The motel is right off the freeway but surprisingly quiet. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The price was right and location is wonderful. Good parking and restaurant on the property.

This is a typical older Best Western with the doors to the outside. Therefore noises from vehicles and walking talkers can be distracting. The hotel is well maintained. The room was clean, but the beds squeaked when you sat on them. The bathroom had a shower, not a tub. The worse thing was the staff used some kind of cleaning product that left a smell in the room that took me hours to try to clear out, which never totally happened. I had to leave the door open with the AC on for hours. The breakfast is good, and the service is good, especially from Maria on the evening shift who was very helpful with recommendations for dinner, and putting through a gift card in Canadian dollars. She was the best part of the stay.

Always a great place to stay way cheaper than wine country hotels yet its just 10-20 min from most wine places, great breakfast, decent internet, quick on off freeway, 10 min from large casino if your like to gamble, outlets across the highway, clean spacious room. For the price you can't beat it

Great place to stay if you have a dog in tow and participating in an event at the Petaluma sports complex which is a 5 minute drive down the street. Breakfast wis included but average. Attendant in breakfast room was nice and helpful. Downside was a used towel behind the bathroom door and items left in the refrigerator.

Everything went smoothly, thank you Clean bathroom, albeit cold--no heater in bathroom Location is convenient We have kids-and-grandchildren in Petaluma so we are glad to have a reliable place tos tay when we visit

I would stay here again without any hesitation. Clean rooms, quiet, all staff were helpful and the complementary breakfast was delicious. We were a late check in and the night clerk was very helpful and got us to our room quickly.

Restaurant on site has very good selection of food and great service. Food was Great. Clean rooms and comfortable beds, What more could you ask for ? Location was nice and easy to get on and off the freeway.

Great property. Easy access from freeway. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms on the small side, but very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Refrigerator and flat screen tv. Great value for price we paid. I would definitely stay here again.

Very accommodating for travelers with dogs. Restaurant on premises and also options nearby. Shopping nearby. Friendly, helpful staff. This visit they were doing some remodeling and it was difficult to enter driveway. It would have been nice to have had a warning when I made my reservations.

We have been travelling and staying in motels for two weeks and this experience was the best. The room was clean and large. The internet worked fine and the complimentary breakfast was the best we have had. Bacon and eggs were excellent and there was an amazing quantity of fresh fruit - bananas, apples, oranges, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and more.

After having some unfortunate experiences in other hotels, I found Best Western Petaluma and I will be staying here for my Bay Area business travel from now on! From the initial contact (over the phone) with a front desk manger to checking out, the experience was first-rate. The room was clean and very comfortable. The wi-fi worked great right out of the box. The onsite Palms Grill restaurant was very good and reasonably priced, and the breakfast offered by attendant Maria was out of this world! Simple yet scrumptious! I felt welcomed and safe the entire time, and I will be going back again and again!

Standard road side motel, I arrived late and left early. The room was clean and nice. I didnt notice too much noise but it is located by some pretty busy roads. Overall my stay was fine nothing special but nothing really bad either.

My stay at the Best Western in Petaluma was absolutely perfect because of the extraordinary service from the employees. From the front desk to the breakfast room, everyone went out of their way to take care of our needs. I would definitely recommend this motel for comfort, service and location.

Every time I go to Petaluma I stay at the Petaluma Best Western, It is clean , professional and friendly staff. It is also handy to move around from as the highway is right there and you don't have to fight the traffic around the town to go some place. However, if you want to go to the main part of town, it is only a few blocks away,

I'd classify this as a motel as all rooms have exterior doors. The breakfast is good with fresh scrambled eggs and bacon. Very nice staff even refilling coffee for you and making your waffles. Near shopping. A little noisy with traffic and cheap windows. Overall not bad for the price I paid with military discount. Lighting in the room wasn't very bright.

this hotel was a nice stop on our return trip to southern Oregon. Four days and nights in Los Angeles and Ventura area can make you crazy. A nice walk on the river walk, a glass of wine with dinner, and a good night's rest got us back on track. Breakfast was great, and there was a fancy coffee machine for lattes and espressos.

Room was serviceable, but there were ants in the bathroom. Free breakfast was meh but convenient. Close to the road/hwy so traffic noise. Good internet. No elevator so you have to drag your bags up and down stairs.

I had had a bad experience many years ago with one housekeeping member and had past up this property many times because of that years ago occurrence however I gave the property another chance and was pleasantly surprised staff was wonderful, breakfast was above the norm, and room was clean. I will for sure stay again.

We arrived late without a reservation and were quickly and cordially registered. We parked on the only space we could find and unloaded. The next am we found our car (and others) broken into. The office staff only gave us the police card, but the maid staff was remarkable in their care for us and our damaged car.

Stayed here for two nights after arriving at San Jose airport. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and able to direct us to the nearest supermarket. Decent breakfast, used a waffle iron for the first time. Bacon really good. We were on the ground floor, parking outside the rooms.

This Hotel was one of the best we've ever stayed in. I'm handicapped and the bath was perfect for me. The bed was really comfortable. The room was very clean . Couldn't ask for anything better, I'll stay here again.

We came to Petaluma to visit a close friend for a few days and found this BW Inn very convenient and comfortable. The staff was awesome and very friendly. We highly recommend this property to any and all those traveling to this area of California

The staff always makes checking in and checking out a breeze. The lady that runs the breakfast is very attentive and super nice. We have stayed here many times and will continue to do so in the future.

Went to Petaluma for work, first had us in the quality inn (that's another review) then they switched to BW, we walked in and it was a complete 180, absolutely wonderful! I recommend coming here from now on.

We enjoyed being there; I felt so safe; the staff were welcoming of our dog; the room was nice to be in; everything in great working order. Breakfast including coffee was excellent; so nice to have berries.

The staff takes pride in this place and it shows. Hard to beat the value for Petaluma. They have a free breakfast with all different types if coffees and espresso. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable.

We were on a multi day Bicycle trip and needed a place to stay. The room was clean. The breakfast was fine as well. The Inn is more of a motel with each room having access to the curb but it was fine.

We booked here through the Best Western App, which had better pricing than Expedia. We had to stay here as a midway point between Oregon and our final destination in Southern CA. Check in was painless and quick, our room was above the lobby and being unfamiliar with the hotel, the representative quickly told us where to go, but her accent made it difficult for me to understand. I asked her twice to repeat herself, but I was still confused. Luckily, a frequent guest of that hotel was also in the lobby and told me exactly where to go and park (the extra parking is unmarked), since the parking lot was full with construction crew. After that initial confusion, all things fell into place...the room was slightly dated, but nothing too off-putting. The wifi was fast with easy log-in. The beds were comfortable--we all slept well. The only downside was that the showerhead and water pressure were a tad underwhelming, but it finished the job. Room was spacious, air conditioning had a constant fan option which gave us the white noise needed to fall asleep. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance and right off the freeway without any freeway noise. Free full breakfast. Worth the money and the stay; would stay again if in the area without hesitation.

This is an updated motel from the days of less traffic next to the highway. It gets noisy. It uses space well without crowding. Good landscaping. Smoking benches near the pool in nice areas keep smoke outside and are used by guests. Parking was scary with trucks with trailers moving about. The room was clean the bed comfortable.

I had a problem with my room and wanted a refund. That's not great. What was great, though, and why I'm recommending the hotel, is that they took care of the problem quickly. They were understanding and apologetic, and even called me back a few days later to make sure everything was taken care of. Good service is everything. Thanks.

Loved this hotel, everything from check in to check out was satisfactory and we are happy with the price we paid for the room and service we received. This property has the best softest pillows and we slept great.

This place exceeded my expectations and was a great value for the price I stayed for. Conveniently located near Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Sprouts Market, Safeway, BevMo, numerous shopping venues including an outlet center and Planet Fitness. Planet Fitness, Trader Joe's, Raley's and Safeway were within easy walking distance. Whole Foods, Sprouts and BevMo were within walking distance, but longer walk and less convenient to get to by walking. Right near the expressway entrance and exit ramps. Short drive straight down Washington to Downtown Petaluma (if you like walking, even Downtown was within a good long walk's distance).

Had a room issue that was quickly resolved by the great staff. Room was clean. Breakfast was about what is expected at a hotel. More vegetarian/vegan options would be nice. Hotel is very close to downtown, shopping, and restaurants.

Wifi didn't work, hotel is not well marked (it took us 15 minutes to circle the block to get to the hotel), I was questioned why I wanted an extra set of sheets and a bath towel,stack of old toilets and sinks outside bathroom window

Having traveled via Amtrak to this area from Houston, I discovered that the party I was to meet expected me on December 26 rather than on Christmas Day. I hastily booked a room here at Best Western in Petaluma. What a pleasant experience! The reception area was tastefully decorated with an attractive Christmas tree and window decals. My room was clean and pleasant. I walked to a nearby restaurant that was recommended by the receptionist--tasty fare! I enjoyed walking about the area on Christmas Day, too. This was a quiet, pleasant Christmas celebration that I'll not forget. In fact, I am hoping to stay at this Best Western Inn again sometime.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights recently. The location is great. It is very convenient to the 101. There are many restaurants close by, many within walking distance. There is even a grocery store across the street. Check in was easy. The staff is very friendly. During our stay whenever we needed anything, the staff was always willing to help. We had a room on the second floor. There is no elevator so if you have a lot of luggage, you may want to ask for a room on the first floor. When we first pulled up, I was a little hesitant about staying here as the rooms all have outside doors. We stayed at another hotel after marijuana became legal in California and could not stand the smell of constant marijuana smoke. However, this is a non-smoking hotel inside and out so this was not a problem here. The room was clean. There was a refrigerator and microwave. The only thing that I wish it would have had was a bathtub. The breakfast was good. There were plenty of options. The seating area was a little small. It looked like there may have been more but it was closed off. Overall, we had a good stay and would stay here again if ever in the area.

Very comfortable reasonably priced and the staff was helpful. Good location and nice breakfast. I would go back and I would recommend it for sure. Also I need soft towels which they had and not the sandpaper you sometimes get.

Staying at the BW Petaluma Inn was horrible - the room was dirty when we arrived, and it was quite noisy since it was directly next to a very busy freeway. We had the end room downstairs, and there wasn't available parking near to the room. We tried the television and the internet, and neither worked. When we complained to the front desk, they said there wasn't anything they could do about the television or the internet and to keep trying, and when I told them the room wasn't up to par as far as cleanliness, they just dropped the subject. The next morning was pouring rain, and breakfast was served in a difficult to find room next to the pool (across the parking lot kitty-corner to the front desk). The woman in charge of keeping the breakfast room clean would not let anyone serve themselves or make their own waffles so it took a LONG time. I am very surprised that this is a Best Western and we will NEVER stay here again.

We stopped for one overnight in Petaluma on our way to Redwood National Park. Glad we did! The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, large and bed comfortable. Despite being right off the exit ramp it was quiet and easy to access. Breakfast was good, especially the bacon and eggs. We enjoyed our dinner at McNears( recommendation from staff) and had time to walk around the historic part of town. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed one night with my dog. Room was very clean and the area is quiet. Breakfast is yummy with plenty of places to sit and eat. Safeway across the street, as well as several other shopping and restaurants. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Really can't go wrong with a Best Western.

This is a true road side, two-story motel, just off the highway, doors to the rooms accessed from the parking lot (not an interior hallway like bigger hotels). Although it's just off an exit, it's quiet. I stayed alone and felt safe. Room was clean and covered all of the basic needs. Nothing is over the top special about the room or property itself, but the staff I encountered deserve a shout out. They created a 5 star experience. I checked- in late (almost midnight) and was greeted with a smile and ease. Wish I knew her name. The complimentary continental breakfast employee, Maria V. was AWESOME. She didn't just replenish empty foods like most hotels. She welcomed every single guest and offered to help them make their waffles, pour their coffee, carried trays for them. I can't say enough great things about her level of customer service. She catered to motel guests as if they were staying in a resort. I hope the hotel knows what they have in her. The employees are why I would choose this motel again. Outstanding. Side note: Safeway grocery store is directly across the street, as well as Starbucks, Peets Coffee, Planet Fitness and a few other shops. Lots of banks and gas stations. Super convenient location.

I always stay at this motel when I visit Petaluma. It is always very clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The motel is right off the highway and I always have to catch the airport or bus the next morning and it's just right down the street. I can't say enough good things about this motel.

Decided to stay here because other hotels for best western cost considerably more for a Saturday night. Lots of places to go to within a short drive for us. Never been to the north bay so was interested in staying here since I could get the government/military price. Rooms are smaller than I'm used to with no elevator to the second floor. Keep this in mind if you have lots of luggage to bring to the room. This hotel is perfect for a one night stay but not long term staying. The breakfast was the best with the variety of fruits to go with the waffles. Blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries along with other fruits make the breakfast a good value.

Stayed here for one night on our way north. Fast and easy check in. Nice staff. Very comfortableroom and close to a shopping center. We enjoyed our night and slept great. If in this area again, we will stay here for sure.

This property is conveniently located. It's clean. It has all the amenities one could need. The continental breakfast is a full breakfast that is very good! The service person, Maria, is excellent. So helpful and friendly. Above and beyond!

Right near Hwy 101 yet soooo quiet. The staff are friendly, the place is immaculate, the tv had MSNBC, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. And the room was spacious. I was amazed. There are a few other hotels in Petaluma, and I've used them, but this one is my favorite from now on.

The BW in Petaluma is a very nice place ... not too urbanized but close to lots, the rest. on the site is quite good and the chef produced nicely done steak and veggies (not over our under cooked). Although the Inn is close to the freeway (101) it was quite quiet.

Everything was nice and clean. I would stay there again! I have to use 200 characters to express that the hotel was a bit overpriced. It is bad when your a Best Western Rewards member, and someone who is not received a better rate. Strange loyalty!

This hotel is the best in which we have stayed for a very long time, and we travel A LOT. It was warm, welcoming, inviting, and EXTREMELY CLEAN. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the in-room amenities were top notch. Do not be afraid to stay here because it is close to the freeway. We were in an upstairs room right next to the freeway off-ramp, and we had a solid, quiet night's sleep. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with lots of choices and exceptional service.

The hotel was great. No problems with cleanliness, comfort, or breakfast. We were in the last room by the road and they seemed to be drag racing up until 12 am. I don't know how much noise other rooms could hear.

This has easy access from the highway and seems to be well run. You can tell the city grew up around it as it feels squished in now. Yet the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast and the lady working it was wonderful, and it's next door to a decent restaurant as well. I was traveling alone and felt comfortable and safe there. As I was visiting family, it was a perfect location to get around easily.

While we found our room at this Best Western comfortable and clean, this is a hotel in need of a re-model. Other than sleeping here, there's not a lot more this property has to offer besides being located close to 101. The front desk area is dated and feels unlike any Best Western I've ever stayed at. The redeeming factor is the breakfast. While not the greatest I've ever had, the woman who runs it is amazing. Bursting with energy and personality she runs the breakfast with an incredible level of competency.

Would highly recommend this BW for their service with a smile. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. They have walk-in showers and very comfortable pillows/beds. The property has plenty of parking and also spaces for larger vehicles . Palms Grill located right next store is a great option when you just want to walk a few yards for some comfort food and awesome milkshake! Safe Travels

The beds at the Petaluma Best Western are better than the ones at home. The room was so clean and welcoming. The folks at the front desk were cheerful and helpful. My dogs were welcome, always a big plus. The restaurant next door serves great prime rib and the breakfast was delicious. This Best Western is a great place to stay. I spend a lot of time on the road and, I always pick Best Western if I can find one!

Given the extensive breakfast, this was a good value. The room wasn't very exciting but it met our needs and was clean and comfortable. The breakfast made it all worth while - bacon, eggs, coffee machine, cereal, waffles with all kinds of topping options, pastries, etc. Close to the sports field and the late checkout allowed us to come back to rest in our room between early games. Only complaint - the traffic noise. Our room was on the top floor near Highway 101 and we could hear it. Next time we'll get a room farther from the highway and on the first floor, perhaps the fence would block a bit of the noise? The pool wasn't open but would be a nice amenity in the summer.

We had stayed at the Best Western in Santa Rosa and the room was generous, clean and the beds were very comfortable. So when we needed a hotel in Petaluma, we thought of the Best Western. But here in Petaluma, we had two queen beds that were terribly squeaky and quite uncomfortable. The room was okay - it was clean. Towels were good. Front desk staff was very nice. The television had few movie channels. The motel is right next to a busy thoroughfare so if you need quiet, you might try somewhere else.

I have stayed he a few times. The rooms are good, the parking is tight but workable. There is a nice restaurant on the property. walk fro your room. Breakfast is typical but Maria is sweet and very helpful. The King size bed is comfortable, TV is good sized, this time I had a handicap bathroom which was great,

I always stay here, very quiet even though many workers with big trucks stay here. I never hear them. Rooms are always clean and beds very comfortable. Staff is very friendly too. This location works well for me as I always have to catch the air porter bus that is very close to this location. Only costs a few dollars for a taxi.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The beds are a little soft but big so it's easy to get comfortable. The staff is great and very helpful. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast but if it was as good as it smelled then I advise you to eat

Stayed here for two nights while travelling through CA. Pretty rose gardens in parking lot landscaping. Shows proud ownership. Nice continental breakfast & with adequate seating. Room was nice and quiet. I would stay here again.

Not a fancy hotel, but the cleanliness of my room and the excellent service made my stay very comfortable.There was a little confusion with my booking, and the hotel manager resolved. I will return to this hotel on my next trip to this area.

First let me say the desk staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The room looked clean and neat but had a strong musty odor when we first went into the room. The parking lot was a challenge for our long pick up truck. The room was noisy, not auto noise but thin walls that you could hear normal conversations from the next room. The pool was filthy, so much so that we didn't feel comfortable going in. In my opinion was overpriced for the quality.

We have stayed here before and like it. Our first room had very squeaky beds and an ant problem, but to the staff's credit (and at their suggestion) we were able to switch rooms and our second room was great, no problems at all. Very nice staff. We also appreciate their getting us a ground-level room to accommodate my physically-challenged mother-in-law. Decent breakfast. No real complaints. Convenient to freeway, shopping, food, and downtown Petaluma. We would stay here again.

There was an antique Fair I wanted to see and a Dr. Appt. in San Francisco the next day , so it wasdecided to stay in Petaluma , Ca. for two nights. There are plenty of things to see & do in the area.

Friendly staff. Clean and quiet rooms. Restaurant next door is good. Continental breakfast is fair. Pool but no hot tub/jacuzzi. No glasses/cups or coffee machine in rooms. Fairly priced, but I would only stay her again if I had no other options in the area.

We always stay at Best Westerns when we travel. The rooms are always clean and the staff is always available foir help when and if needed. Sleeping is always very comfortable . Nothing better sleeping on clean sheets. Rooms are very large and there is a microwave and refrigerator in each room for your convenience. Just perfect.

I wish you could say you get what you pay for...but for the price I paid I was thinking that I would have a little bit of a nicer room. The bed was not comfortable at all, the bathroom looked like it needed a complete make over. The staff however was beyond friendly!

We stayed for one night on our way north and found the facility good, but not excellent given the rate we paid and our proximity to the busy road next to our room. What set the experience apart was the excellent service we received after we left. We inadvertently left a small travel bag with some items of value to us in the room when we left. We contacted the front desk later that day when we discovered the loss and the the next day when Catalina, the Front Desk Manager informed us that they had found it. Within minutes she had arranged for it to be shipped down the road to one of our next stops. A very good way to make sure customers are valued.

The pool is the best. They will bring beverages and food right to the pool for you. Our room was quiet and the lobby had plenty of open spaces to just sit and enjoy your family. The outside seating for breakfast was charming surrounded by floral and grape vines.

The Good: Reservations are a snap. Place is easy to find. Service is superb. Breakfast and parking are adequate. Towels are big and fluffy. Wifi is fast. USA Today paper available. The Bad: Bed is hard, pillows are lumpy, air conditioner is loud, room is small and stuffy, and the hot and cold water controls for the shower are backwards (hot turns on cold and cold turns on hot). The ugly: A room with one queen bed, at the AAA rate is $170. Tax and fees are $20.50. Pet fee is $20 for a total of $210.50.

This is a well maintained, older, entrance on the outdoor, two story motel off the 101 in Petaluma. The staff is great, the condition of the facility excellent, with painting of the exterior going on during our stay. Rooms were older, but clean and of good size. There is no elevator, so be ready to drag those bags up the stairs. (Americans hate that, but it really isn't bad; twelve steps on a wide stairway) The bedding was a touch on the rough side, but the beds were comfortable. Lots of pillows and the obligatory quarter blanket/cover/whatever, on the bed ends. Wall heater, which isn't terribly loud and a refrigerator that I didn't need to turn off as it was quiet as well. Breakfast is in a room beside the pool. Actually it is the back room of an adjoining restaurant, which struck me as a creative business solution by a landlocked motel. Usual breakfast fare, powdered eggs, yogurt, bacon, breads, rolls, cereals, and on and on. Sysco or whoever must make a mint on these identical services, no matter the brand of motel. Price was maybe higher than the property is worth, but the price is near the bottom half of the market, so the market prevails.

Hotel was nice. But I don't think I needed to pay extra just to stay at the bottom floor with the king size bed. Breakfast was nice, too. Overall it was a nice experience...I would recommend it to my friends and family.

Warm, attentive staff that make check in a breeze. Room was a basic layout, but clean. Breakfast was a wide spread and it was pleasant to have access to an espresso machine. Perfect for a night to break a long drive. Easy access just off the road, with plentiful meal options in close proximity.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room, close to the San Francisco Bay Area. Our family was in the area ahead of a flight out of Oakland. We wanted to be close... but not in the city. This hotel is a little older, with exterior corridors (which I like) but inside is very clean, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was excellent and comfortable. The price is reasonable, access to freeway is easy, and there are many great meal options in the immediate area. We will definitelty stay here again! It's about 45 miles into the city itself, which totally works for us!

Friendly staff, prompt check-in. Nice breakfast,several choices with healthier options included. Clean rooms offer a comfortable bed but are very small and basic.Definitely adequate for a quick over-night but not sure about a repeat stay. Hotel poorly lit in areas, dingy outdoor hallways and carpet. Needs renovation.

We stayed here on route to the Redwoods for a basic one night stay. We arrived late and it was dark. IIn the morning, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the effort put into making the property look appealing, especially the gorgeous roses. Congrats to the gardner! The breakfast lady was one of the most helpful ever. The room had been recently updated and decor was very pleasant. Yes I'd stay again if passing through. I stay at a lot of Best Westerns and though this was not the newest, I find the brand is very consistent in decent decor, cleanliness and value. There is street noise but I always travel with ear plugs so not a problem.

If your planning to stay in petallma this is a great place , everyone working there will go above and Beyond , the best staff around , the Hotel is adequate but the staff are phenomenal I would recommend if you want friendly service this is the hotel for you I'm more interested in the people then the hotel

The hotel is of average quality. Noisy location. The bed needs to be replaced. The bed squeaks every time you move. The hotel currently has a high occupancy of construction workers that are badly needed in the area because of the fire devastation.

It was a good place for the value. CLose to the freeway, but no too noisy.The room was clean and the bed comfy The onsite restaurant had decent food and there was a park nearby to walk the dog. The breakfast selections were good. Check in and check out was easy.

Overall the people at the front desk were very nice. However, the place is so run down it falls miles below a Best Western. The rooms were out of repair, the place for breakfast was like a tomb, the sidewalks were unclean. There was grime in the bathroom and the rug had stains. Very unpleasant. We left a day early and will not go back.

Really nice Best Western Motel. Outside doors, but safe parking lot, only accessible by single driveway. Super nice, helpful, friendly staff that really try to please. Remodeled rooms are very nice, beads super comfortable, with triple sheets. Large new flat screen TV's. Enough light in room. Great free breakfast with nice helpful staff. Plenty to eat in the morning, hot eggs and bacon with a couple of waffle machines, and lots of choices. Fancy coffee machine for Latte's or Cappuccino's or expresso's. All staff very willing to meet or exceed your expectations. If you need to be in Petaluma, this is a nice place to stay.

Easy access to 101 and back roads as well as shopping and restaurants. Check in was quick and easy. Though I was a bit early for check in - I only had to wait a few minutes before the room was finished. Room was clean and comfortable.

This location was amazing, centrally located in the middle of wine country. The service was great and the breakfast was more than adequate, tasty I would say. The room was large with 2 king beds and a living room.

Located with easy on off access to 101. Good price for the area, good access to Wine region,. Napa, Santa Rosa, Healdsburg as well as Marin north coast, Sea Ranch etc. Room is standard BW style room with standard amenities. What makes this place good is not only is location central the price is any where for $50-100 cheaper than other locations in area and the have a breakfast that can carry you all day. Station 1 cereals, Station 2 Breads, rolls, sweet rolls, Station 3 Eggs, bacon, sausage, Station 4 2 kinds of waffles with all the fixings for savory or sweet, Station 5 juices and several kinds of coffees. Even to go cups if your driving for the road. For under $115 a night its worth it to make the short drive to wine hot spots. There is also a outlet mall less than 5 min from it if your into shopping.

The Motel is clean, they are doing upgrades to rooms during our stay. Just your average motel room. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Restaurant next door was ok in food quality. Good place to stop and rest.

I was a little unsure about getting a hotel next to Hwy.101 but it wan't bad. We did turn on the fan to keep the noise that we did hear nice and even. Slept wonderfully. Beds are not to bad. Not your top of the line bed but defiantly more then the middle. Cleaning crew did a wonderful job sprucing up our room. The most memorable part of our stay was Maria the continental breakfast attendant. She greets you with a happy to see you smile and makes sure you have everything you need. While also keeping the food fresh she will clear your table when you are done. She was really fantastic. First place I have stayed at that also has Soy milk as an option. The rest of the food was great to. Bacon Eggs Sausage Fresh Fruit Waffles Cereal bagels Oatmeal Pastries and a Coffee/Espresso machine. The front desk also was very helpful. Sadly i had my wallet stolen while in town (not in the hotel) along with my key card and room number. They quickly deactivated my room key making sure the thief could not access my room.

Have stayed here a few times and the rooms are always very clean and the staff is very friendly. It is right off the freeway and they have a restaurant in the parking lot, as well as toms of stuff near by.

The room(s) next door had wild , loud, party all night long, open doors, yelling, smoking, drinking and???? I was actually afraid. When i reported it he ca;;ed them and it stopped for 15 mins and then continued unabated until 3:30am

Very nice updated clean rooms with a tasty restaurant on site. Was here on business and it's located in a nice spot with a lot to do and close proximity to downtown Petaluma. Will definitely return for business and pleasure.

This is one the best Best Western hotels that we have stayed in the last few years. The room is very clean and spacious, plenty of towels, complimentary bottle water in the room, excellent breakfast, and very professional staff. It is pet friendly.

I used live in Petaluma and now that I moved away I love to stay here. Since its remodel its even better. Very clean and super comfortable. Its close to downtown and shopping areas. The staff is super friendly too:)

It was so bad that Im having trouble writing a review without getting mad about it. I normally love staying at best westerns but this experience was downright awful. It was unbelievable how loud it was with people stomping around the rooms above and adjacent to us, not to mention the car alarms and door slamming from 2-8am. The cigarette smoking construction workers outside our door cat calling my girlfriend at 530am was the last straw. The fact that the front desk employee was unwilling to even acknowledge the problem let alone remedy it was truly disgraceful. As a lodging supervisor at one of the largest resorts in the world I just couldnt believe how bad this place and its employees were.

The motel is comfortable and clean, though a bit pricey. And not all the lights worked within the room. The staff was friendly, though not very sympathetic or helpful regarding our need for an extended stay in the area. They did not offer to notify us if a vacancy opened up at the motel or to assist us in locating another hotel or motel in the area. Finally not all the amenities were available as the pool was shut down for the season, yet we still paid full price.

Very clean and comfortable hotel. The breakfast was great. They had a wonderful selection of food and even had soy and almond milk for those of us that cannot drink regular milk. That was a really nice touch! The people working there were very friendly. Great place to stay!

Very comfortable experience. Though the hotel is in a busy strip mall environment, I was surprised how peaceful and quiet it was in my room. Very comfortable room in all ways. Front desk staff was amazingly friendly, efficient and helpful. I will stay here again.

The location is convenient, right by 101 (freeway), close to several shopping areas (Safeway, Trader Joe's, etc) and about 10 minutes from downtown Petaluma. However, since it's right by 101, expect a lot of noise. We were in the building closest to the freeway so it was pretty bad - earplugs helped. We've stayed in a lot of Best Westerns and this is not one of the nicer ones. External corridors, smallish rooms and bathrooms, tiny lobby, sits at the intersection of two very busy/dangerous roads so you can't easily walk to things. Definitely make sure you lock your car at night. We didn't try the breakfast (Acre Coffee is nearby and is excellent). Overall, it was perfectly fine for one night, especially considering the price ($140ish including tax).

Our time at this hotel was mostly good. The only "con" is that the hotel is very close to HWY 101 - the freeway is on one side of the hotel and busy McDowell Blvd. is on the other side, so there is some traffic noise but not enough to disturb our sleep. The room was clean and nice and the staff was very polite. The Hispanic hostess who works breakfast is awesome - she deserves a raise! Breakfast was good - eggs, sausage, cereals, waffles, OJ, milk, hot chocolate and other items as well as an espresso machine. The breakfast room did get a bit crowded in the morning but not terrible. There was some commotion in the parking lot later in the evening due to a drunk visitor but I assume that it was an isolated incident. Mostly a good stay.

Hotel is in an excellent location. The rooms are large, well appointed, and very clean. The towels and bathroom products are a step above other chains. This is definitely a pet friendly property and an off-leash dog-park is only a mile away.

Very friendly and helpful staff every step of the way. We stayed in one of the few pet friendly rooms and it was well kept but was the smell of cleaning products. Very convenient location to downtown.

Everything was cleaned was satisfied with my stay. Check in was easy, my room was clean everything worked well. The breakfast was a good Selection. I enjoyed the restaurant so close by. The staff was very helpful.

We rented the two bedroom apartment...full kitchen...two televisions and a nice patio. The staff was wonderful...the rooms spacious....down side...the traffic noise and the living room sofa and chair had seen better days! Knowing this, we'd probably stay again...with everyone being so nice...free breakfast and close to shopping.

We stayed the night of a friend's wedding. Right off freeway, clean, helpful and friendly staff. the driveway is a bit tricky, but plenty of parking!! We just became Best Western Rewards members! Whoo Hoo!!

The entire experience was muted by rude, short answer, (seems like --- 'i don't want to be here') attitudes. Pool was reported, twice, as heated to 90 degrees and yet, was not. The lobby was well below par and the overall condition of the property was “run down”. The entire experience in Petaluma was with rude and short people and was, by far, the worse of this entire seven day (5 different properties) trip. Front desk staff did not seem to know about pool , nor , care. Front desk at day of check-out looked as though she had slept in her cloths and didn't seem to be very friendly. Staff at check-in was short and 'not' very friendly. Overall, the entire stay was one low point after another. On the day of departure, we were very very pleasantly surprised to be greeted and served by the 'extreme' highlight of the stay. The lady whom took care of the breakfast and guests ""Maria v."" was pleasant, accommodating and seemed to be from another world as compared to the rest of the staff. The 'low service' staff did not affect her pride and happiness she showed in her job. We would gladly hire "Maria v" to work for one of our companies without question. The rest of the staff could learn a lot from that lady. We will not be staying at your property again, which is sad considering you have the right location and potential for a thriving business.

The hotel was clean and friendly staff. Nice breakfast was included. Just off the highway made it convenient. The highway noise was bad our first night but the staff moved us to a better room with no noise and were very pleasant to work with.

Great spot for access to traveling around. Breakfast is very limited, my room smelled musty, ac unit was loud and needed maintenance. Parking lot has ample parking. Seems like a place where contractors like to stay.

First I will say, I am a bit of a hotel snob and don't usually stay at motels so with that being said for a motel it was decent. Room was clean and motel was in decent condition. We had a king size bed and room was a little tight in the bathroom area. I am not used to such a small bathroom but it was clean and no leaks. Bed was comfy so that was a big plus. Even though our room was right on the main road side, the street noise was not that bad. There are lots of restaurants in the area but traffic was horrible. I did not have the breakfast but they do offer one complimentary. There was a microwave and frig in the room and also a coffee maker, Overall it is a pretty good motel and I would stay here again. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Maria was awesome for the breakfast. So helpful and friendly. Would stay here again! Hotel was clean and convenient to restaurants and groceries. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast was the most memorable because of Maria.

This woman insulted my wife and me and others in our group of 30 proper during check-in under the premise she was following policy because independently owned. During the check in of our 20 or so rooms, she did not smile once.

September 7, 8, 9, 2017 (three nights) - We drove from McKinleyville, California to Petaluma to stay for three nights near the end of our journey. At check-in, the receptionist was courteous and efficient. I noticed that the office offered coffee and had a business center. We proceeded to our room which was right across from the pool on the first level. We were able to park our car right outside the door and that was convenient. The room had two queen beds, a television, mircowave, refrigerator, desk, and was bright and cheerful. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had fluffy towels and was sparkling with a nice sized sink counter top. Some mornings after breakfast, we would take our coffee and go over to the pool area and sit in the sun to wait for the morning mist to clear. In this part of California, it is not unusual to have a cloudy morning and a bright afternoon. We would stay again.

We were in the area for a family reunion and found this motel to be an excellent place to stay and it was close to our destination. The breakfast was especially good, very good selection of food. The room was clean & comfortable.

We evacuated with our dogs due to the Northern California fires. This BW took us in, welcomed our dogs and made us feel safe. Everyone was fantastic from the manager to Sienna at the front desk and the wonderful breakfast lady. I'm spreading the word about how great this BW is to everyone I know.

We were assigned a Handicapped room (they said that was all that was available). It was not great but we made it work. We had to put up the ironing board in the bathroom to make counter space for our things. There's no bathtub but a drain in the floor which made for some messy showering. The doors are right by the parking lot so it can get pretty noisy, especially from motorcycles. The breakfast was great.

Very comfortable and clean facility. Great location. Only problem is parking. Large trucks are allowed to parallel park outside rooms taking up 3-4 spaces belonging to other guests. That is despite the fact that there is large parking in rear area of lot ideal for trucks and large vehicles.

Petaluma is a great place to spend the day, weekend or a full week enjoying the vary of shops especially the military shop and museum in the basement. Lots of different food fare in the area and only a short drive to the wine country of Napa & Sonoma. The northern most mission building is in Sonoma and also Gen. Vallejo home.

It was only overnight, so it was ok. Looks like it's as a common stop for people working in the area. LOTS of big trucks in the lots. Was a difficult finding a safe spot. Restaurant next door was great.

Breakfast is great, The server was excellent, friendly, and helpful. The parking is a little tight, but OK. Room is a standard hotel / motel. It was quite for the most part. Bed clean and confortable. I will stay there when in the area

Nice stay good bed minimal noise and great breakfast buffet. They could use better tv options but that is best western in general. wi fi was ok. They need to be ready though for frequent travel members,, Was told at 3:20pm that rooms weren't ready had to wait about 5 minutes, most places post check in after noon or 3pm.....

I travel for business and this hotel provide great value. While the location is central to everything, it is located on a busy intersection and the freeway. Internet is decent and staff is helpful and caring.

Best Western is always great to stay at. when my Mother was alive. We stayed many times in California Best Western. When My Mother was In the hospital. Best Western Had a room for me in Walnut Creek, Ca. At once!! We stayed longer, than expected. They were outstanding to us. My Mother did pass away.

This hotel is showing it's age. The room I had was VERY small, and not much natural lighting. The city garbage service came by at 3 am and was extremely loud. The pool was noisy and very crowded. Car alarms went off outside twice during the late night. It was an exhausting stay!

The hotel is nice enough but the staff were great. Kind and very helpful. My daughter was on crutches and the breakfast room staff with out being asked carried her plate and helped serve the food. Definitely above and beyond. Even bringing more directly to our table so we didn't have to get up.

I booked last minute for Labor Day weekend, was pricey for the actual hotel level, but was clean and had a good breakfast. No central air which doesn't cool the whole room equally. Noise in room was not an issue.

We are from Petaluma and moved away many years ago. I was so shocked to see how over crowed with people and traffic it was. Did not even recognize downtown. On top of all of this the heat was extremely high. So it was very nice to know we had a clean comfortable room to go to each night. Will continue to stay there when we go home to visit.

This is an older hotel that was remodeled. The room was very comfortable and clean. The WiFi connected easily and stayed connected. Their was a large variety of food for breakfast and the separate dining room is a nice touch. Our room was right next to Hwy. 101, but we didn't hear it. I would recommend this hotel.

I had a very bad experience at this hotel I travel extensively in the Best Western Chain I have never had a bad experience such as this. I had money taken out of the room by housekeeping, caught house keeping coming out of room after I had requested that the room not be accessed. When reported supervisor defended her girl not even considering she took my money. Lessoned learned I will never stay at this property again ever. The hotel was over priced, & I found nasty coffee grounds left in coffee pot also I guess housekeeper was to busy looking for people's property to do her job. Note front desk service was very good.

We needed a place to stay close to Sonoma State for Move-in weekend. This was a good location from campus and the price was right. We like the Best Western brand due to their customer loyalty awards and the cost is reasonable. They are often located in convenient areas and this was no exception.

The area is getting built-up and the hotels in the Petaluma area are busy. It was a quiet enough Best western with all the amenities. Service at the front desk was prompt and friendly. Good breakfast with many items. It is two storied and I had a room on the top level. Open stairs lead to the room. Everything worked: microwave and refrigerator. Internet speed was good.

It was our first trip to Petaluma and our first stay at this hotel. The room was clean, quiet and affordable. The internet service worked well. Quick ride to a very cute downtown area with lots of shops, restaurants, coffee shops etc. Overall, a good experience and would stay here again when I visit.

Wine country has extended into Petaluma apparently. We just wanted a kid-friendly group getaway a decent distance away from the Bay Area but had to pay for Sonoma premium pricing to do so. Overall, this was a great place to stay for our needs. The pool was not crowded and we pretty much had it to ourselves the entire trip. There was a park within walking distance to play at. We had decent food options within walking distance and a short car ride away. Petaluma has a lot to offer with family-friendly breweries great for groups and a nice downtown to stroll around in. Good for this hotel for being able to fetch the prices they advertise. The beds were noisy and a little too soft but otherwise, the room was clean. Don't expect anything fancy in terms of toiletries--shampoo, bar soap, and lotion is all you get. The microwave and mini-fridge was nice to have in-room.

Very clean and large room and comfortable beds. TV's also newer and large. Décor was nothing special, particularly for price point. We had 2 rooms in far end of motel and advertised wifi was non-existent. (I stepped out of the room and walked past 2 rooms before the wifi network was actually detectable and then with a weak signal). Looks like a pretty old motel although it has been updated and is well maintained. Parking for rooms in the far end is narrow and requires backing up quite a distance as the parking lot dead ends and there is not enough room to turn around.

Rooms look upgraded recently. Everything worked and looks like its in a safe location. Restaurant on location is good food. Whoever they hired to cook does an excellent job. Employees helpful and friendly. I didn't appreciate the room price but realize its in peak season.

Stayed one night. Exterior entry rooms; no elevator. Friendly checkin. Room was large and comfortable with fridge and bottled water provided. Everything worked. Good wifi. It was clean. Nice pool. It was a little noisy (highway and guests). We didn't get to try the breakfast as we checked out too early. Seemed a little expensive for what it was.

Well maintained property, flowers were very beautiful! The staff even picked up the garbage in the parking lot for the visitors who couldn't find a dumpster :) Breakfast was delicious and well stocked with a variety of items. Staff was EXTREMLY polite and helpful. Management/owners should be proud of the people that work at this property. Well Done!!!!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Petaluma. The value which included breakfast was unbeatable. The location was ideal with shopping / eating options located across the street. We also appreciated the larger refrigerator that we used for our wine in the hotel room. :)

We reserved several rooms at this Best Western for my daughter's wedding. The rooms were excellent and spacious, the beds were so comfortable and the property was so quiet. We did experience a problem with the A/C in one room not working, and the hotel staff relocated us to another room immediately. The breakfast is wonderful and we loved the waffle station with fresh fruit. The grounds of the hotel are immaculately landscaped and the property very clean. Highly recommend this hotel.

I have been to other hotels around Santa Rosa but this stands out from the rest. Smells clean, Looks very clean as well. I will definitely come back to this hotel. Lastly, very affordable too!! Even its was a business trip, i tag along my family and they were very impressed with the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at the Best Western Inn in Petaluma, CA during the Fourth of July weekend and had a very pleasant stay. The location was nice just minutes away from restaurants and gas stations. We booked online through the website a few days in advance and once we got there the check in process was very quick. The breakfast provided in the morning was very good. They even had an espresso machine which was nice but surprising. I would definetly stay there again if I am in the area.

Very clean, channel selection on tv was great, good temperature control of room, breakfast was amazing (love the bacon and the coffee machine with different blended coffee options). All staff were friendly and helpful when we had questions.

We visited family in the North SF Bay area this summer and booked the BW Petaluma. What a great value and an excellent hotel. We especially loved the breakfast host, Maria, who took great care to make sure we were all happy with our breakfast selection and her positive attitude started our day out on the right foot. We will definitely stay here again when we visit our family.

Nice room that was perfect for us. All staff very helpful and friendly. This is a pet friendly hotel and our dog was happy to be included. Bed was firm and not too soft, which we don't like. We hope to come back in the future.

This is a motel, but it's been renovated and is well-maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small, but was enough for me, as I was by myself. Bed was comfortable, TV worked great, and wi-fi was satisfactory. Breakfast was satisfactory. No complaints, and I would stay here again. Price was higher than I would normally pay for a motel-type lodging, but this is California.

This hotel was a great price for the area. The location of the hotel is good. We walked to the downtown area from the hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. There was plenty of parking and the lot was well lit.

As far as hotels go, this hotel met all out needs. We were looking for someplace central to the southern end of Wine Country to do a little sight seeing, and wine tasting, and this hotel met those needs. Hotel staff were friendly, room was clean, and the general road noise was low when in the room. We'd stay here again.

This hotel really impressed me with the breakfast! Lots of options and staff available to keep breakfast up to standard with refills. I love the waffle maker, the bacon, and was especially thrilled to be able to have espresso in the morning. I liked the location of the hotel especially if you are looking to be close to Napa and San Francisco while being on a budget, this is a good choice!

We are card carrying members of Best Western and always stay at their motels when traveling. You can count on a clean room with a refrigerator , microwave and internet and a continental breakfast . Would not stay anywhere else.

Coming to the end of our annual 2 week vacation, we once again chose this Hotel. Using it as our base for day trips and extended stays outside the area. Given our allocated room we knew what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised at the tiling that had been done on the stairs and the improvement on the TV reception with extra channels. Special mention to Sienna , Patricia ( Reception) and Maria ( Breakfast Room ), who all went above and beyond making our stay a more pleasant experience. Thank you all, I'm sure we will be back soon.

Nice location, great value. We had a balcony room that overlooked the parking lot, freeway and mountain side. I know it doesn't sound like a great view, but indeed it was. All the staff we dealt with were friendly, helpful and very courteous. Definitely will stay here again.

This Best Western is very convenient for work in the north Bay Area - the staff checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was substantial and the breakfast room staff member was beyond excellent!

This Best Western is fine if you are paying $100 a night but the rates triple (literally) and is no where near worth it. It is loud so request a top floor away from the freeway and street. Rooms are old. The breakfast is better than most. No tubs and the shower is for someone 7 feet tall. Showering my 3 year old was a joke.

First, let me say, I seldom write reviews. But I felt compelled to do it for this trip. I was here for one week on business. From check in to check out, the staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. Housekeeping was fantastic and very thorough. And, let's talk about that breakfast. I did not get the chance to get her name, but the lady who runs the breakfast was very attentive. She made sure everything was continuously stocked and fresh. Four walls of food !! Excellent variety of cold cereal, and not the usual cheap stuff. Fresh scrambled eggs and bacon to die for. Assorted fresh pastries, breads, coffee, espresso, fresh fruit and the list just goes on. The buildings are a bit "aged" but VERY well maintained. I travel about 6 months out of the year and this is one of the best stays I have had this year. I will be back in Petaluma several times in 2018 and I will be staying at the Best Western. Thanks for a great stay.

Our stay up in Petaluma was a ton of fun and this place worked out well for us. The hotel is freeway convenient off of the 101 and located 15 minutes from downtown Petaluma. Staff is super friendly - there is plenty of parking (park in front of your room). Additionally, there are stores all around you in case you are in need and a restaurant right outside your room. Price is good, room was very big, small frig, coffee maker and beds are comfortable - we slept well (must have been all the running around we did during the day). Place was very clean. It has a small pool (that we did not use). We had a second floor room and other than we were close to the freeway offramp - the hotel was quiet. Breakfast in the morning - standard BW fare w/ coffee, pastries, make your own waffles, fruit (berries were super good!!). Filled up each day and on our way. Staying here you are close to wine country and so many outdoor activities. If you are in the area, you best give this place a try.

You would not let me have room for under 300 I was only able to stay one night then it was gaughing rates at over 300 when the rooms are only worth 99 when you have people with reservations and then say oh sorry to continue your stay will be 300% because we can get it vs keeping you as a guest

This hotel was very military friendly with the discount and exceeded all expectations in room cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and a fantastic breakfast with waffles, cereal, coffee, orange juice, eggs and bacon.

We stayed at this non-assuming motel during our recent trip to Sonoma, which is a short 20 minute drive away. Very comfortable room (king bed, non-smoking) at a great rate for this area. What really made the stay enjoyable are the employees. Very friendly front desk personnel and the lady that runs the breakfast area during the week was super friendly and welcoming. The free breakfast included was wonderful also. Highly recommend this lodging.

you can check in there, no doubt. We where in a group of ten and residented in different Best Western during our three weeks road trip. Everything was clean and the people where friendly. The breakfest was disappointing and our bed was not as good as in the Best Western before. But everything is still on a acceptable level. Would I go there again...yes because they deserve a second chance.

At the price I was charged for a room with 1 queen bed, I expected the property to be top-notch. Instead it was old and the walks and stairways rather grubby. There was a sheet of plywood taking the place of a railing at the end of the outside walkway leading to my room. The room was very small, but it served it's purpose, was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bedding seemed clean and new. The curtains kept the room nice and dark for sleeping. There is a mini-frig and 2 bottles of water were provided. For the price though, better to stay at a newer property.

We stay at this location when we are in the Petaluma area. Staff is friendly and professional and make you feel welcome from your first phone call to the check in process until you check out. The rooms are clean, location close to the downtown/old town and not too far from the local casinos!! They have a continental breakfast which includes a "coffee" bar where you can make espresso, hot chocolate and there is also an on-site restaurant that has over 4 stars. It is close to the local shopping center. The rooms also have microwaves, coffee pots and refrigerators.

Can't beat this Best Western- clean and comfortable! Great beds and delicious breakfast (included in the price)! I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here in the future when visiting this area!!

We enjoyed our 4 nights stay in the suite. Very large apartment. Full kitchen. Large front room, 2 LG T V's. 2 bedr Queen beds. Was clean with a closet of more towels, pillows and a roll-a-way bed. The suite is old but a new shower was a plus. The walls need cheering up with colorful pictures. The AC worked well..being on busy street can't help but hear traffic. Our family enjoyed the yummy breakfast and friendly sweet waitresses.

We stopped here because of an earlier review about the BACON! He was not wrong. The bacon was amazing, but there was also a fancy coffee machine making expresso, cappuccinos, etc. Lots of fresh fruit toppings and whipped cream for waffles, real scrambled eggs and much more. Delicious. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

This recently upgraded hotel in Petaluma has been a friend to the family for generations visiting Sonoma County. Location is very convenient for seeing the town from ´´AMERICAN GRAFFITI´´, visits to the wine country in Sonoma and Marin counties, seeing the beautiful coastal and farm areas, or seeing the sights in San Francisco. Shopping centers nearby, and only 1 mile to the downtown, with its shops, restaurants, Victorian houses, the`Petaluma visitor center in the restored train station (which will soon have SMART train service to Marin county, with its ferryboat service to San Francisco. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and working hard to make our stay pleasant.

My stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. i highly recommend this motel. The swimming pool is very nice. It is sheltered from any wind. The complimentary breakfast was convenient and delicious. The motel is near the historic downtown district which offers great dining and shopping.

I stay here once or twice a week and have been doing so for over four years. It has improved greatly over the years. Friendly, accommodating, clean and a great value for what you get. Recommend highly

I've stayed in a few BW's and I felt for the price this was one of the better ones, especially for this area. The property seemed to be kept up - lot's of blooming roses were every where - some newly planted. The hotel building looked in good shape too. Our room was upstairs closest to the Freeway. We didn't hear anything. Pretty quiet. The room smelled great when we walked in. It was clean. The room itself was on the smaller side but I did not mind. There were only two of us. There are tons of places nearby to eat or shop and convenient. The only negative was the complimentary breakfast - coffee was not ready and space was extremely small. If I needed another hotel room and was able to get the same price, I'd stay again.

Excellent stay at BW Petaluma. Very efficient room with everything you need. Excellent wifi. I thought it would be noisy since we had a room facing the street, but it was not a problem. Excellent breakfast. Nice employees. We didn't use the pool but I think it opens only in May.

Reserved a king room in advance. Arrived at the hotel after check in time and was given a room key, We went to the room and the maid was working in it . Returned to the office and she told us we had to take a double queen, very very disapointed. We were charged $179.00 for a room . It was so not wort that much. Very upset.

I have high expectation for Best Western. But the bed we got was squicky, the room is right by the street. The cars, motorcycles were make enough noise to keep me up almost all night. We checked in late evening, the lady was not very helpful. She is not very friendly either.

This trip was for Medical reasons, as I have Parkinson's disease, and can't even walk anymore. So last year our daughter made a reservation for this place again but with a special request for a handicapped room.The room you delivered was handicapped ready for the bathroom only. Well, at least i was able to get out of helping my wife unpack, then pack up again the day we left.

On our 17-day trip, we stayed at various hotels, including three Best Westerns. I enjoyed staying at all three of them. The room was clean and spacious, two queen beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was fabulous. My family enjoyed the berries so much. The staffs were kind and helpful. We went to Sonoma Plaza and drove to Petaluma Taproom (Lagunitas Brewing Company's) and had dinner. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to enjoy Petaluma more, but both the dinner and the hotel were awesome.

This BW was a decent stopover on the way up the coast. Bed was comfortable and a decent Italian restaurant within walking distance. Would liked if it had been closer to the town of Petaluma as it is actually around 5 miles north.

Great value for the area. One of the best values on the internet. Very clean but small. Just one chair to sit in and the bed. Convenient to the local sites and restaurants and Muir Woods, which is a must see.

Fantastic breakfast, real eggs and delicious bacon. Wifi great. No ESPN or Golf Channel. Clean. Maid service was good and friendly. Hotel was not ready at check-in time. Beds and Pillows are not good. Need updating!!!!!!

We booked a "2 bed suite" online and what we ended up getting was an entire 2 bedroom apartment, complete with a full kitchen, dining, living and a back patio (probably a manager's apartment once upon a time). The furnishings were very dated and the carpet definitely needed a cleaning or replacement, but it was hard to beat all that space which was a pleasant surprise. The complimentary breakfast was quite good. You know you're in California when all sorts of (expensive elsewhere) berries are included!

Older right off Hwy 101, outdoor access to rooms. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, remodeled bathrooms, really nice complimentary breakfast with waffles, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, cereal, etc.. outdoor pool.

Overall a decent place to stay good location excellent staff.clean.needs more parking. The Internet is not secured and unusable in this day and age you would think they would have a good you're not service they definitely need to work on math but overall I will stay

We stayed in Petaluma during a busy weekend and could not get into any of the more charming scenic places. That said, this hotel was a great value and was fine for a one night stay. The breakfast offered a good variety. Our room was over the carport which was very quiet. No one below or above us.

There was no sleep all week. Expedia would not assist me. Best western would not assist me. So much noise all night long. Sirens. I was very disappointed in this hotel stay. At checkout they said I would receive my bill by email. Nothing has arrived 4 days later. I guess I need to call tomorrow.

A great value, a well kept establishment. A nice surprise in an expensive area. Easy on/off freeway. Other food establishments within walking distance. Nice breakfast, and restaurant on sight is nice also. Pleasant staff all the way around

Whenever we travel up North, we always stay at this Best Western in Petaluma. It is centrally located near a shopping center, and local businesses. The rooms have always been very clean and immaculately presented with lots of space for pleasure and business. The towels are super soft. The breakfast area is extraordinarily clean and well stocked with clean foods and a very pleasant staff member who assisted us in navigating the breakfast menu. There is a variety of choice, high quality breakfast items. The staff is very professional and friendly. We have tried other hotels in the area and encountered some problems. We will always stay at this Best Western for all of all travel needs to Northern California.

Hotel was very comfortable specially the beds ( nice and firm) and upgraded bathroom. Even though there were a lot of people staying and we were close to a busy thoroughfare there was very little noise once the door was closed. The staff was incredibly nice and thoughtful. Parking was a little on the crowded side and they are upgrading the lobby. For breakfast they had delicious local fruit ( among other things, just really loved the fruit)

I spent one night here and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms seem to have been updated and mine was clean, comfortable, spacious, and very quiet. The staff in the temporary lobby was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was better than expected and included some hot food like bacon as well as the usual fair. I was particularly impressed by the lady working in the breakfast area. She was very cheerful and greeted everyone as they came and went. The breakfast area is good sized and she was constantly on the move bussing tables and keeping all the food stocked. All the while smiling and chatting with customers. Absolutely top notch. I would definitely stay here again.

We needed a larger unit so we reserved the two bedroom apartment. It's in the process of being updated, but in need of new carpet, living room furniture, and curtains and/or wall decorations. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom newly remodeled. This unit sits right on the street so if traffic noises bother you then you won't be happy. I believe if you stay in regular rooms in the back of the property it would be much quieter. The breakfast was very good, and the service attendant was wonderful. It was a good location for what we needed, though it can be a challenge getting in/out of the property due to the busy intersection.

Clean, comfortable overnight stay. As usual for BW the bed was very comfortable. Amenities were a bit sparse. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location not great on the corner of two busy roads as quite noisy, but close to US 101 which made for easy access. Breakfast was good and staff very pleasant. The restaurant next door was very good.

I've stayed here several times and have been pleased. The beds are good and the rooms have been recently remodeled. The pool is nice and the breakfast is up-to-par. It's easily accessible from the freeway and close to restaurants and gas stations. I'd gladly stay here in the future.

Clean comfortable room. Great Staff. Breakfast was awesome. Bacon and make your own waffles, eggs, pretty much whatever you might enjoy. My son-in-law and I also tried the restaurant. Afterwards we were in awe. We were not expecting the great quality and service. We split calamari and I had a Reuben that was perfectly prepared and not soggy!

We were visiting grandchildren for 4 days and decided to stay at Best Western as it was recommended as being safe, clean and in a great location. We found all of these and more. Our room was very comfortable with fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. The breakfast is served in a very nice room with scrambled eggs, deliciously thick bacon, waffles with options of fresh fruit toppings, bagels, toast and doughnuts, cereal with option of almond milk (I use this and it's the first time I've ever seen it offered) yogurt and more. It also had a big coffee machine which you could make latte's, espresso's and it could be decaf or regular.....very good. The whole stay was great and all the employees were very nice. The price for our queen room was $125. I will definitely be back when visiting again.

The rooms were huge and clean. Breakfast was great. Great price, would stay there again. Lots of convenient things nearby - like Target and restaurants. We stayed for a wedding in town and were not at the hotel much. Can't comment on the pool, but it looked fine.

We spent one night at this hotel which was centrally located. Friendly and helpful staff who recommended two exceptional local restaurants. It was eceptionally quiet considering how close it was to hwy 101. Overall a good choice

We stayed here one night, on a Friday, on our way back from wine country and on our way back to San Francisco. The rate was terrific at only $109 for the night, as opposed to the $275 they wanted to charge for a weekend rate in Napa. The hotel itself, was nothing special. It was a bit outdated, although clean. I wouldn't stay here if I was charged their standard Friday night rate of$190, but for the $109 rate I found on TripAdvisor, it was fine for the night. Thanks TripAdvisor!

Planned ahead and reserved quiet room for a Sunday night. We reserved a queen and were given a king bed and bed was very comfy. The pillows on the bed were too large but there were two small pillows in the closet to solve that problem. We requested a quiet room and were given a room with one window sheltered from the road noise. It worked out great. The room seemed newly remodeled - clean carpet and paint. Surprisingly clean. Breakfast was good with nice healthy choices and the attendant was readily available to assure guests were attended.

The motel has been nicely modernized with up-to-date furnishings and is very clean, but it's noisy due to poor insulation - you'll hear traffic from two busy adjacent streets. Matress isn't top quality. It's popular due to its value, though.

This was a last minute reservation. The event we attended was about15 miles away and most places were booked or so expensive I would not stay there. Your handicap rooms are nice, but it was an expensive stay.

Supper room recommend top floor, avoid a heavy person on the upper floor that cannot sleep but great service very clean no orders for being a pet friendly non smoking Inn. Excellent parking space, but the best was the Breakfast fresh every morning, and with Maria the staff member assigned every morning with a smile greeting you and wishing you well cleaning up the tables asking if everything was good great fruits fresh. Newspaper available every morning. Between the Front desk staff and Maria made this stay as one of the best in all The Best Westerns if have stayed thus far. Remember second floor best rooms. Easy access to RT 101 to Sonoma Wine as well as Napa Valley

Excellent room size, but the walls are paper thin. Good room amenities but the motel attracts loud disrespectful guests that spoil the experience for others. And the hotel staff doesn't control those guests. You have to call the police, they will only feebly threaten to call the police. Although the hotel staff applauds their zero tolerance, they do not back it up. You are on your own here.

Big clean room with comfy bed. Near to freeway but noise wasn't noticeable. Standard breakfast with waffles, eggs and bacon. The breakfast attendant,Maria I think,is very cheerful and welcoming. Great place to stop over. Friendly to dogs too!

Got a room with my 3 lb, service Chihuahua on short notice. . Went to the dog show and didn't want to drive back the next day. Room was nice and bed was great, Was a pet friendly room but had a few stains on the rug. I just wish people would train there pets better. Loved the staff and breakfast- saved going out so got to the dog show on time. Thank You!

Had a suite for the price of a standard room. Excellent service & good night's sleep. Conveniently located near downtown area including a restaurant in the next lot. Will consider this hotel again....

our room was clean and bed was very comfy. It was very nice that the room felt clean. breakfast was good with real eggs and bacon. the staff kept it well stocked even with all the people from a holiday weekend.

Stayed here one night before the Santa Rosa Marathon with a buddy. Pre-paid for the room on Expedia for like $115. For the price it was a good deal. Check in was easy and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is right off the highway so it is easily accessible. The room was huge for 2 of us. The furniture was a little dated, but it was serviceable. We had a 2 king beds that were comfortable. There was a seating area that also included a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bathroom was also pretty big and it seemed to have been updated. All in all for what we paid and the service we got this was a nice place for an overnight stay.

I brought family from out of town to stay here and they loved their experience. they reported: the hot breakfast is awesome, pool is heated and doesn't get overcrowded, rooms are much more spacious than you expect and the staff is always super friendly. they will carry your bags for you, recommend restaurants and fun activities and will even help you find a different hotel if you're not satisfied. it's well worth the price!

The staff at this location are so kind and helpful. The breakfast ladies topped up all items quickly. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Although it's close to the road we were not disturbed by road noise. The breakfast room is attached to a restaurant. The public restaurant windows overlook the pool - which was rather off putting. Ther is one area of the pool where you can sunbathe away from those windows. The pool was very clean. It's across the road from a Safeway and a large mall is just behind. Great location. No lift.

Clean, simple hotel. Staff was efficient and helpful. Great value for the area. Price included free breakfast, internet and pool access. Just enough amenities to make a short stay pleasant. No issues encountered at all.

I don't know why I am surprised by the quality of the stay at Best Westerns. The last four I have stayed in have been outstanding for the class of hotel: 1. Clean 2. Friendly & Helpful Staff 3. Comfortable beds 4. Great breakfast bar with LOTS of bacon!! This stay was no different. Great location for touring the Napa/Sonoma wine area without the 'tourist' prices added on. Cute little town too. Quaint. Several festivals happen in August that would be good to come back and experience.

Although this hotel is on a fairly busy (by Petaluma standards) street, the room was very quiet. The staff was extremely professional and responsive, and the breakfast is very good. Upon checking in, our staff member, Catalina, greeted us with a smile and a welcome. She even called our room to make sure everything was to our liking. I can't remember if that has ever happened to me ever.

Tosh has outstanding customer service skills-she certainly knows how to WOW the customer. Everyone working the front desk were very pleasant people and it was nice to be greeted by Maria in the morning.

We had an unexpected overnight stop in Petaluma. The Best Western was great. Clean, comfortable and just what we needed after a long day of travel. The front desk attendant, Catalina, was wonderful. She made us feel welcomed and accommodated all our requests. After checking into our room, Catalina called us to be sure everything was to our satisfaction. A very nice gesture.

This hotel is worn, tired and has seen better days....like a few decades ago. It is noisy from all rooms both upstairs on on the sides as well as from the street. I would never even consider sitting on the furniture. The bathroom has been remodeled and is the only redeeming factor for the room Strangely, they have the best breakfast of most hotels which is very incongruous to the overall hotel itself. If breakfast is all you care about, then consider this hotel but that is about the only thing that will score above a 1 in my book. We cut our 4 night stay to one within 10 minutes of our arrival and would have stayed someone else for that one night were it not so late. Keep looking, pay more, but seriously, not a good value for this hotel.

Nothing here not to like. Wi-fi worked great, room was clean. digital TV, nice breakfast in the morning and a special shout out for the roses on the grounds. They are beautiful! I get the feeling this property has been here for a while, but you wouldn't know it by the condition of the rooms.

No decent place to poty dogs, need to put grass where has gravel only. Staff was nice and Breakfast was great. Check out was easy and rooms clean. Easy to find places to eat, lots of stores close. I would stay again if they fix dog poty area

The hotel was easily located right off of the highway. Various casual dining nearby. I got room 247 close to the lobby. It was quiet, and very clean with loads of outlets to plug in all of my electronics that needed to be charged. Comfortable pillows, lots of towels, complimentary water and a free breakfast with eggs and meat. Friendly staff. room had a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave.

This is definately an older style hotel, but one which appears to be in the process of renovation. We were allocated a room upstairs above the office. The hallways to the room were quite dark but the state of the hall carpets were really unacceptably stained and dirty. The room itself was compact but seemed to have been totally renovated except the carpet, which unfortunately did in our opinion, need to be changed. The bathroom although small had a clean, wooden floor and towels and linens were clean and fresh. We had a huge balcony which was an added bonus and indeed a saviour because unfortunately when we were there, the pool was closed. That was a huge disappointment as one of our reasons for choosing a hotel, is a pool in order to relax and enjoy the sun. The pool and terrace are did look great....just a pity we never got to use it. The complimentary bottles of water in the room was a nice touch. The breakfast was the usual motel options. The staff we met were all really nice and helpful, especially the receptionist. We are just hoping that we are right in the assumption that the carpets may be replaced after all renovation work is finished. We hope so because it would enhance the hotel significantly, as will a working swimming pool.

Bravo! to the staff at Petaluma BW. Staff there was friendly from the beginning to the end. BW had a simple yummy breakfast. Our rooms were clean and neat. Can't complaint. It's was nice to see staff smiling at BW, it makes our mini vacation pleasurable. Cheers! to the BW Staff!

First off, Tosh W. at the front desk made us feel very welcome the instant we stepped inside. She was extremely helpful when asked a few questions of the area. The room we had was very clean, well organized and well appointed. Bed was comfy and the location quiet. The hot breakfast was by far one of the better ones we have had on our trip so far. Maria, the beautiful person in charge of the breakfast area was so friendly and attentive to everything. Because of her personality, each of our days started out so much brighter.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast not so great. I've stayed at a lot of Best Westerns and this was one of the more sparse offering's as far as breakfast is concerned. They didn't even have flavored creamer and that is a big one for me. Also not a very good area for pets to do their business. But other then that my experience there was very good. I would recommend and stay again.

clean room and good service for the price, with breakfast. The only issue I had is that at other locations I have stayed at they charge your card at check-out not during check-in. Loved the microwave and fridge in the rooms, and the swimming pool was great as well.

My stay at BW Petaluma Inn was surprisingly wonderful. The hotel doesn't seem impressive at first sight, but the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious; the breakfast is excellent and most importantly the staff is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel to those traveling on a budget!

Our child had a swim meet at the nearby Swim Center and as a treat (and to avoid the long drive at 5 in the morning), we booked a room at Best Western (as did many others on the team). My husband made the booking on Expedia. I drove up after work on a Friday evening w two children. I had the full printout of the reservation (including confirmation code and all the information and restrictions). We pulled up and went to the lobby and no one was there. We waited for a while (no sign etc) and a harried looking woman came across the parking lot talking on her phone and said to whomever she was talking to "I gotta go." Now, I will give her the benefit of the doubt and say she was dealing w a hotel crisis....we show her out reservation and she says, "where is xxx?" (Husband's name). I said that he isn't coming. She said "well then you can't stay." I said "oh, sorry. He forgot to add my name to reservation. Can we call him or something?" She said "if he comes you can stay. Otherwise you can't. Hotel policy." And returns to her work. I said "there has to be a way to handle this. I can call him right now." She said "I told you, you can only stay if he comes" and returns to her work. I said "he cannot come. We booked a hotel because we are far from home. This can't be the first time this issue has come up." She, with increasing glee in her voice trying to exercise her power over me said: "no." I called my husband to see if he could convince her (his number was on reservation, so she could see I was calling him). She returned to her work (as the children, by the way, are becoming increasingly distressed) and says, in the rudest way possible. "I don't care. Hotel policy. He comes or you can't stay." At that point a trainee comes in and she (the staff person) repeats what she has said and tells the staff person, "this is good practice for you telling people what the hotel policy is." I ask if my husband can fax or otherwise send his driver's license. The staff person is all but saying "la la la la I can't hear you" and keeps repeating that unless he comes, we can't stay. Luckily, the trainee looks something up and helpfully says: "oh yes. Of course. He can fax or email his ID" and proceeds to write down all the numbers and while she is doing so asks for my ID and credit card. At this point the staff person looks over and says "you don't have the same name as your husband so this won't work." (I stand accused. Shockingly, my husband and I have different names. Crazy, no?). The trainee, increasingly apologetic, says: "so sorry. Maybe just have him write a short note on the email or fax saying who you are?" (And as he was doing this, the trainee proceeds (looking something up) to tell me several other ways to fix this etc. The whole experience was surreal. Mea culpa that we forgot to add my name to reservation and that we have different last names (the horror!). Maybe the front desk person was having a really bad day, but she seemed to be nearly gleeful about asserting her limited authority. Thank goodness for the trainee who understood that this is the "hospitality" industry and that we are paying customers/guests. I find it hard to believe that this is the first time this problem has arisen and the front desk person's rudeness is inexcusable and ruined our experience. As to the hotel: full beds instead of queens as advertised. Lots of highway noise. Decent breakfast with good coffee. Lovely breakfast and housekeeping staff and good free wifi. So, not all bad but unless the hotel hires better front desk staff (I would recommend the trainee!) I can't recommend and would recommend avoiding.

Great hotel right off of 101. Nice location, very clean, super friendly staff. Only complaint was that the bed was squeaky. The room was perfect for a quick trip up north to see a concert at the Green Music Center. Will stay here again the next time I'm headed up that way.

My family and I were in town visiting relatives. the location of the hotel was perfect for our needs and the room was comfortable. the bed was excellent, got great sleep. My family loved the breakfast that was offered, especially the specialized coffee machine. It got our days off to a great start!

This was a great place to stay, room was really nice. Check in and check out staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast was perfect. Nice restaurant next to the hotel. If ever in the area again, will stay there again.

We arrived at night about 1. am after a long trip from europe. The hotel is in a nice place, close to the city of Petaluma which has both restaurants and food stores. Our key card wouldn't work at first, but the Manager on Duty was very nice and helpful and fixed the problem pretty fast. The room is very clean, pretty big (2 queen beds) and looks pretty new, and the beds were VERY good! WIFI, very good! Breakfest OK, there was everything you could expect, but the restaurant has too few tables. But we still got a table pretty fast, so overall it was a very good experience and i would definetly recommend this place. Best thing --> Good WiFi Worst thing --> Small breakfest restaurant

Nothing to complain about here - great breakfast choices with plenty of seating. Staff was friendly and easy to work with. Good beds and quiet rooms. Only place we've stayed without a tub - which was fine for us, but with small children might be a concern.

The room was very clean. Loved the full breakfast FREE!!! Didn't have time to use the pool, but looked very inviting! We had a pet friendly room. The amenities for the pets were wonderful. The full breakfast had a wide variety of choices . All the food was the appropriate temperature. Wonderful way to wake up in the morning!!

We attended a wedding in Occidental, the Petaluma Inn is convenient, clean and friendly. It was central for us to see family and attend the wedding. We have stayed here before and found the improvements fantastic, newly remodeled bathrooms, the restaurant was very good and much improved since out last stay. Thank you.

We stayed overnight in the area and were looking for a decent hotel at a good price. Well we were not disappointed. When we arrived we were greeted by a wonderful gal named Tosh. She was excellent and very informative. She checked us in and even resolved a issue we had with the room location. Since I didn't put any notes in the reservation that we needed a first floor room, we had been assigned a room on the second floor. Traveling with senior who has difficulty climbing stairs I had not considered that when I made the reservation except the number of beds in the room. I thought this Best Western would have an elevator. Unfortunately, they didn't have an elevator but she did have a wheelchair accessible room on the first floor with a king size bed. She worked with us to provide us that room and we ordered a roll away bed. This was my first visit to Petaluma and the weather was so nice, we didn't have to turn on the AC since you can open the window and fresh air came in. I loved not having to use the AC in July. I wish I could live up here all year long! The motel location is near a Panda Express, Safeway grocery store and a nearby coffee shop in a shopping center that is not a Starbucks. I think it was a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf or some other chain brand. There are also several banks nearby too. The next morning we enjoyed their free breakfast. The breakfast was not disappointing. They had waffles, cereal, milk, yogurt, eggs, bacon, toast, fresh fruit and an assortment of coffee's and teas. I over heard several people comment how extensive the free breakfast was. They did have a women who was hustling and replenishing everything quickly. The only drawback was the area to sit down and eat there. It was a bit small and we had to take our breakfast back to our room. The pool area was adjacent to the breakfast area and I think they could have opened that up for anyone who wanted to sit outside but there was a sign that said the pool was closed for the season. Not sure when the pool is open since it was July. The drawback to this hotel is that it is motel style. You can hear people walking past your room at night if you keep the window open for the fresh air. But this is to be expected if you are staying at this type of motel. I wouldn't complain about it since this is the type of motels that people traveled to 25 years ago. Our room was completely updated inside and featured a very modern bathroom sink. For me, the quality of the room is what impacts me and my review. I can't ding the architecture of the motel since that is much more expensive to update.

We needed a hotel in Petaluma and booked our room for a holiday weekend. We have gone to past BW plus hotels and enjoyed our stay, but this stay was average. We were pleased that the hotel had a pool, but come to find that the pool was shut down during 4th of July weekend. Who does that? The room we were assigned was clean but the flat screen tv had pixalated reception and was going in and out, so we had to call the front desk and they got us another room it was another inconvenience. And the day that we were checking out we woke up to a massive hammering sound at 9AM, because they were repairing a staircase. It was really poor scheduling on that. They should have checked to see if people were still checked in the rooms near the staircase. Other than that if you get it on a good day when there is nothing wrong it should be fine. It's near the freeway and grocery stores . My advice, call ahead before you book and ask them if the BW PLUS amenities are working. Overall it was average bordering below average for the time we stayed there.

This hotel was a great deal. The room had been renovated and was very nice. The staff were so nice and helpful. For a BW Hotel breakfast this one was excellent. There were so many choices of hot and cold food, a coffee machine that made any kind of coffee, latte, expresso you'd like. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This was the first night of a road trip, easy to find - 3 mins off highway. Accessible room - huge, but a little dated. Good breakfast, and a good supermarket nearby. We felt safe, it was quiet and we slept well. Plenty of seating and space for a quiet evening in the room.

I have enjoyed Best Western for years. This was not my least favorite Best Western.They put us in a room on the street when we asked for a quiet room. There was no toilet paper holder. They gave us wrong directions to the restaurant we found in there book of amenities in the room.

Convenient and close to Sonoma Raceway and Great Value for your Dollar. Excellent Restaurant /Bar on site which was very accommodating. Will book there again for next years race. Staff of Hotel very helpful with any and all requests.

the staff at the hotel have a good sense of humour and the desk people went out of their way to assist with two minor issues with good humour and a pleasant manor. the Rooms are a standard "Motel" nothing special but clean, in good repair and pleasant. (I have seen much much worse) The rooms are well cleaned and the staff are happy to assist with any issue I raised. The laundry machines are great and a wash and dry was less than 1 hour, pleased it was so efficient. Supermarket is in walking distance and there are other malls and places to eat within 3 or 4 min drive if needed. Ask for a room away from the highway but the noise did not bother too much and did not intrude as much as I thought it might. Bed is nice and soft and the aircon works well to heat and cool (Need the heat) The Palms on site restaurant is nice and food is good but a little more expensive than expected.... portions are generous and cooked well so not a negative...... Hotel is acceptable value for an expensive location (Other hotels are much more cost) based on location and what is offered it compares well to the expected cost for the location.

My wife and I have just returned from once again staying at the Best Western Petaluma Inn. We spent 14 nights in the same room we had on a previous visit. One of the obvious things that we noticed was the bathrooms had a recent renovation. Its a shame it didn't include some new light fittings and new tap hardware. Although an improvement since 2014 on our previous visit. Its a pity that there has been some new staff members joining the team , 1 female front desk member was argumentative, rude and not very helpful at all. If Mr Everhart wishes for me to expand on the details for him I am happy to do so, just not on this forum. However that being said there were some staff members who went above and beyond all expectations. Special mention to Sienna at the front desk, many thanks for all of your help with our enquiries over the past few weeks, and to Maria at the breakfast nook. Who was always friendly and willing to assist with any bodies needs, Thank you very much. It is appreciated how hard the cleaners work , however, the same cotton buds and childs toy was underneath our bed for the duration of our stay. Who knows how long before that they have been there? It was disappointing having the pool closed for the season, perhaps if your doing renovations on the pool the tariff could be lowered . After all your paying for an item that cannot be utilised. Or make arrangements for the use of a pool nearby. The Hotel served its purpose for the duration of our stay, with more improvements could only enhance customers stays. Better digital television, would be a great start.

We were visiting wine country and the beautiful Pacific coast. The location of this hotel is convenient. We liked most everything about this property except the noise. The roses around the property are just beautiful. The bed was very lush and comfortable and the linens were fresh and white.

at first glance i was wondering why this bw was looking sorta dated fr the outside. I saw the tripadvisor management photos coupled with bw reputation, i thought id book and did. I wasnt so impressed upon arrival. I did. Stay and found. Out that sometimes things look different on the outside. Inside very clean rooms. The whitest ever bathroom fixtures and very good mainyenance

I recently stayed at The Quality Inn in Petaluma over Memorial Day weekend. It was a great choice because it was near relatives, right off the 101, and not too far away from San Francisco by car. I chose this hotel because I had searched and searched to find a decent place to stay at a low rate. Unfortunately because of the proximity to San Francisco and Napa/Sonima Wine Country there are a lot of expensive hotels in the area. Anything I found under $100/night was a dump with reviews that literally said "don't stay here under any circumstances!". So after a while, I bit the bullet and conceded to paying about $180/night. I'm glad I did! It was clean, pretty quiet, and there were good amenities on the property. I worked out in the gym and enjoyed the complementary continental breakfast in the morning. While it was close to the freeway, it wasn't loud. I also enjoyed using their free Wifi. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was fine and a great value, but wished they would have told us the pool was closed for the season for repairs. The morning breakfast staff were exceptional and the food was above average for the free breakfast. I would stay here again. The price was hard to beat.

I feel the Best Western served our three night purpose completely during our 3 day stay in June 2016.. The rooms were nice and clean and well maintained daily.. We had a room next to the freeway but had no problem with noise or sleeping.. The continental Breakfast was a nice bonus and offered hot items along with the usual cereals, donuts, oatmeal, yogart, etc. We would definately use again...

Always close to our primary destination. Close to shops, grocery, activities, etc...Could use a face lift in the near future. Parking is not always easy to find by room. Pool was under repair. Hope it is repaired this summer.

We stayed at the Best Western Petaluma because all the hotels were full in Santa Rosa. I'm glad we stayed there. The room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable and we had plenty of towels. We stayed for 3 days and indulged in their free breakfast. Eggs, Bacon, Waffles and Pastries from a local bakery. We were in Petaluma to visit family including my 3 year old Great-Grandson. I was looking forward to taking him swimming until we got there and there was a notice that the pool was closed for renovation. It would have been nice to know that BEFORE I booked the room. One thing that stood out to us was that there was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom. Where was it? With all that said, I would stay there again.

Good service, i like western style, there a free smoking space and cool water pool, easy lavatory, my sock was ironing for a first time, beauty garden and close shoping, there a nice coffe and awesome selfservice pancake in kitcen

This motel was just ok. We stayed only one night. On the plus side, the bed was VERY comfortable. Be aware that it is a motel: the room doors open directly outside and if you are placed on the second floor you will have to walk up the outside stairs. The most disappointing aspect of the motel is the crowded, VERY DARK breakfast room. There were no windows. Here we were on a bright sunny morning eating a pretty good breakfast in a dark dismal room. No tables to sit outside either.

Although our room backed on to the freeway offramp, we heard no traffic noise. it is an older motel but rooms are updated and very clean. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. We would stay there again!

Good enough for a quick one night business trip. Slight annoyances like construction, loud guests and the breakfast room being crowded, unorganized and they ran out of coffee. Staff are very kind and helpful though and the location is good- close to the freeway.

Nice place to stay, clean and comfortable. It has a pool, free breakfast and Wifi, as well as a shopping center with a SafeWay and a Starbucks . There is also a vending machine, and a restraunt right next to it.

Stayed here one night this past weekend. The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. The facility was a little dated - it needs an upgrade. We reserved a king room and got that, but it was a handicap-capable room. That meant it was sparely furnished (and rightfully so). However, it did have a very musty aroma. Breakfast was barely passable. Ended up with a cup of coffee. They have a huge red machine for dispensing every type of coffee drink imaginable except a simple cup of regular coffee. Finally found an air pot in the corner with what I really wanted. In my opinion, dump the fancy stuff. If people want that, they can go to Starbucks. Breakfast needs to be fast and simple.

The front staff is simply rude and disrespectful. She was unhelpful and unaccommodating. While the young lady in the breakfast area was extremely friendly and helpful. I will never return to this hotel.

Hotel was fine for the price. Next to freeway so ask for building not backing the freeway.Pool was dirty, but it was not opened yet. Breakfast was very good and had a lot of good choices.The waitress running the breakfast area did a really good job making sure the food choices were always full and helping with any questions as well as keeping the area clean.

This was a typical Best Western location. Entry from parking lot and adequate breakfast offerings. Room was clean and TV and wifi were fine. Arrived late and left early next morning. No surprises. Everything as expected.

Really affordably priced. Like any other wine country facility, you can save more the earlier you book. Stayed 4 nights. Room and bathroom clean. Surprisingly quiet considering design, age, location, and high occupancy. Stayed on lower level. Shower, no bath. Great location for exploring wine country/coast. Coffee/espresso machine in breakfast area better that you can make in room. Peets, Starbucks across street. Safeway across street. Mexican grocery a couple of blocks up sells one day golden gate bridge pass back to SFO.

We just needed a place to stay to rest our head with a busy schedule of sightseeing and wine tours, which fit perfectly. This hotel is right off the 101, a short drive from downtown and has a variety of stores within walking distance if you forget something. The room was spacious, cleaned meticulously everyday and well stocked with toiletries. The only complaint was the noise above you on the first floor, but is to be expected i guess ( we did not hear any of our neighbors next door though). The check in clerk was helpful and the breakfast service attendant was very friendly ( i wish i had gotten her name to give a shout out!) and quickly replaced items. Breakfast was also plentiful with eggs, bacon, bagels, waffles, etc- which was a nice surprise as we were just expecting a cold continental breakfast. I saw other reviews about loud traffic noise, but we did not experience that.

As a motel, it's pretty decent - large and clean rooms, comfortable bed, acceptable breakfast, good service, reasonably located (short drive to downtown). The sound insulation leaves a lot to be desired, but hey, it's a motel... When it comes to price, however, the place really gives itself airs! To pay close to $200 for a night's stay in a motel - is it Paris or London? Granted, Sonoma (and Napa) are grossly overpriced, but this borders on price gauging.

Stopped and stayed here for one night on our way home, we had a very nice stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet. The rooms were setup well and organized. The bathroom hardware looks new. There was also a microwave and mini fridge. And the hotel is dog friendly, which was convenient. However, our only complaint was the TV wasn't in HD and there was only about 30 channels. But overall, we were very pleased with this hotel stay and Petaluma in general. There is a wide variety of stores and restaurants within just a mile or two of the hotel.

Room was very clean, very comfortable with fridge, microwave, large flat screen, tub & shower. Staff was super nice and efficient. Breakfast spread was pretty darn good and the attendant was super friendly and helpful. Wide variety, even fresh blackberries and blueberries. Highly recommend.

I am a huge Best Western fan! I try and stay at one whenever I can. What I appreciate most about Best Western is the consistency of comfort and cleanliness. However, last night we stayed at the Petaluma Best Western and I was incredibly disappointed. The hotel is old, but that is ok. The bed was the problem. The mattress was a air mattress- yes you read that correct. I couldn't believe it either win my fiancé got on the bed and said "Holy cow, this mattress is an air mattress, I can feel the base" He is 6'5" and had no problem sinking to the base of the bed. I of course didn't believe him and so we had to pull off the sheets- low and behold he was correct. Now, if any of you have ever slept on an air mattress you are aware of how it makes creaking noises when someone rolls over, it is bouncy and just not what you expect when you pay $200 for a Best Western room. In fact, the bed was so uncomfortable neither my fiancé nor I slept and I ended up going down to the car to at least get a few hours of some sleep. I told the man at the desk when I checked out that I was very unhappy with the blow up mattress- he didn't seem to care. I have stayed at the Santa Rosa Best Western which is about 15 min north up highway 101- if you are in the area I would highly suggest you keep driving to another hotel. Which is a shame because I really love Petaluma.

We stayed at this hotel for easy access to Napa and Sonoma wineries and for reasonable driving distance to San Francisco while we were on vacation. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the beds and pillows made for a good night's sleep. The breakfast included many items and finding lots of fresh fruit was a great surprise. The onsite restaurant's food was very good. We were delighted with the restaurant choices in the area and loved the charm of the town of Petaluma.

Reserved well ahead for a King in a quiet area. Upon arrival only King was next to the lobby and parking entry. Switched to Room 250-A (dbl. Queen) for a quieter location. Positives: $85 + taxes Negatives: The room was shabby with old carpet, scuffed furniture, mold on the shower door and no soap dish area at all in the small shower to place toiletries. Behind furniture and fridge multiple extension cords connected many items. Will not stay here again.

1st night felt like our bed was on the freeway off ramp. The agent was rude about it when we asked if there was another room available. The next morning we did get another room from a much nicer agent. Room was bigger & quieter. Bed still under par. Breakfast was great. We only chose this location to be close to family.

I was very please with this Best Western. Lovely roses all over the grounds. Very clean and tidy. For being next to Highway 101, the room was very quiet. Also the guest swere quiet. No children screaming or running around. The only dissapointment I had was breakfast stopped immediately at 9:30! The door was locked. I didn't arrive until 1:00am and went to sleep at 3:30. Woke at 9:00 and figured 9:30 for breakfast, but to no avail. I believe breakfast could stop at 10:00.

Friendly staff. The breakfast had a variety of fresh berries and there were even 2 kinds of nuts to add to your food. A place that felt like they weren't just trying to get by with the minimum for their customers.

This is only convenient for us but there is little to choose from in Petaluma. We would stay elsewhere if there were newer cleaner Hotel chain. Rooms often have pet smells or odors from spillage on carpets. Breakfast is OK if you are on the go and do not have time to sit at a restaurant. Parking can be difficult if you arrive at night as the spaces fill up and are not specific to your rooms. This is hard for elder visitors that have to carry their luggage.

Good location, close to 101 and downtown. Clean rooms, well appointed, decent breakfast. Lots to do in town as well as 30 minutes away from coast and about an hour out of San Francisco. Close to Sonoma and wineries but at cheaper prices than Sonoma.

Staff was friendly and got me in my room in no time. No issues checking in even though the hotel was full. No issues finding parking either. Will definitely use this hotel again. It's in a good location with easy access to freeway and restaurants.

Upon arrival the room felt like it was not clean. There was no fan in bathroom, so after taking a shower the bathroom (and room in genera) had a musty feel to it. And there were ants. ANTS! ANTS! ANTS! They appeared to be located only in the bathroom, but they would crawl up to the towels and we did not want to open the window for circulation for fear that more ants would come in.

The check in lady was extremely helpful. The location is perfect to go to Napa/Sonoma, San Francisco, and to the beach. We took a day trip to Bodega Bay! The next day we rode the ferry from Sausalito to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. The only problem I had was at the free breakfast. The lady running it was extremely rude. But I don't feel it is Best Western's fault. I was assured by the front desk that they would speak to her about her behavior. Everyone has a bad day right? Everything was clean except for the carpet looked like someone dropped a bunch of mustard between the beds. The bathroom didn't have a fan so I opened the little window but there was no screen on it. The mini blinds could use a cleaning too. All minor issues. It was a great value for the central location.

We are grateful they agreed to let us check out late. We'd spent three weeks helping our granddaughter care for 3 kids plus the brand new baby while hubby pulled night shifts. We just wanted to sleep in until we woke up naturally. No alarms. No bouncing balls. No sweet six year great granddaughter peeking in the doorway saying, "Greats! Pops! The sun is awake. It's time to wake up."

Hotel was pretty good. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The outside of the hotel is worn and needs remodeling. The breakfast was average as it was only a continental breakfast.

Petaluma is a fun area to stay and this motel is in a great location for downtown, shopping,wine country and even close to a casino. Restaurants in the area are exceptional. Try Lombardi's for a great sandwich.

I stayed at the BW Petaluma on February 21, 2016. The room was a little small but perfectly adequate. Clean, cozy and nicely appointed. The free wifi, microwave and refrigerator are great. The location was good too - easy to find and to get around town and nearby places. The Palms Grill at the property was a surprisingly good restaurant. Staff were friendly and the place was quiet. As a woman traveling alone I was very comfortable there. I moved to a different motel the next night because this one didn't have a fitness center. That was a mistake. Both were about the same, very reasonable price. But this place was much nicer. I should have stayed here both nights while in town. Anyway I definitely recommend this place an excellent value and good location.

Hotel refused to accept a debit card upon check out. Unheard of! That's the same as cash!! If you enjoy waking up and sharing the shower with ants in the morning, this is definitely the hotel for you! Eventually, staff came in and used their killer ant stuff...some of them still survived to enjoy the thrill of showering with humans another day! Front desk attitude was condescending at the least, as though any special requests that the majority of hotels accept as commonplace, such as an ergonomic chair that supports your back rather than one that is at ground level and forces you to reach up to the work desk area so that you can have the pleasure of enduring both carpal tunnel and back pain while enjoying your stay with the ants in the bathroom. The so called "breakfast" is pathetic, unless you feel that accomodations at their price should not offer a genuine hot breakfast even though it may conflict with the restaurant on their property that they do not own but manages to have a bar that doesn't serve real alcohol other than Safeway lower shelf wines and some brews, none of which can compensate for the "Why Am I Here" feeling that overcomes you after spending just your first day with this dysfunctional property and its associated attendees!

This hotel was clean, the room was huge and I love that a restaurant was right next door! Super easy to check in and out. Good parking, great location. The beds were very comfortable! The bathroom was big as well! Employees are very polite and accommodating. Clean inside and out!

Very quiet and the beds were very comfy. For it's price range it was good. Internet was slow. Restaurant next door was Very Good. Shower area was small and no place to put things in the shower - i.e. shampoo, soaps etc.

Nice Best Western, very nice staff both at check in and check out. Pet friendly rooms were nice and clean. Loved the restraunt and bar right next door. Free breakfast was minimal but it also was very clean.

The price was pretty good for the area I think but next time I am in the area I will look for another place. It was fine but not great. The breakfast is very small with not a lot of choice and the attendant was texting on her phone a lot. The bathroom was really small and only ok. Oh yeah, and not many cable stations and the neighbors right behind our room were partying.

This hotel has squawking bed mattresses, an unreliable internet, an AC/Heating system that had no simple vent fan feature to stay on all night, and the "complimentary" breakfast menu was substandard. At one time Best Western was just that -- the "best in the west." It no longer seems to be as in so many ways they seem to be cutting corners. Our experience was like staying in a refurbished but old Motel 6.

This hotel is an antiquated hotel that needs to be renovated. There is no elevator and when you have a full suitcase the stairs are difficult. There is no restaurant onsite, it is next door. There are no options to order food to be delivered and the staff did not think this was an issue. The shower was nice and the internet was reliable. The bed was comfortable.

The Best Western in Petaluma is a very nice choice for an evening on the road or as a place to stay while you in Marin area for business. The hotel has been refurbished, and they added in a breakfast room near the pool, they even have good coffee! The bed was very comfortable, and my room was very cozy with nice decor and new fresh towels.

Nothing to rave about just a typical hotel. location is at a busy intersection in Petaluma and while we were there in rain and you could hear the road traffic. The breakfast was normal for what you receive anywhere else.

We were traveling up the coast after a day in San Francisco with its high hotel rates. This was an easy stop for a nice, clean old-fashioned Best Western. Not fancy, but not worn. I would definitely stay here again. Petaluma is a quaint small California town that is growing fast, but the downtown is very pretty.

We needed to stay in a hotel that was close to several places that we were visiting. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. Furthermore, it offered a very competitive price, with one of the main amenities we were looking for: Free breakfast. Furthermore, the wifi access was easy and strong, unlike other properties we have stayed, where the bandwidth is so narrow that you have to wait for ever to connect.

was a nice place to stay The breakfast was ok and it was quite and clean. It was in a nice location for me and I would come back and stay there again. The service was great. The price was very reasonable for what I got. I am sure in the summer time it would be even better because the pool is open.

Excellent location, the Front Desk, the rooms, the cleaning crew, the wifi and the breakfast, one of the bests ever. I will return to this Hotel every time I am in Petaluma. The breakfast was fresh, the coffee very high quality and the options of yogurts and cheese excellent. The rooms were cozy and the WiFi worked without glitches. We actually stayed in Petaluma because it is so close to Tomales Bay and Bodega Bay and the Best Western is very reasonably priced. Best Westerns can vary from site to site, but the Petaluma Best Western is great. Nice rooms, fridge, micro, iron and ironing board, new showers and bedding. Breakfast was good, the usual at a breakfast included motel and even though the hotel was sold out, we stayed up stairs and it was quiet until morning. We arrived on a Saturday morning and then took off for Tomales Bay. I had always wanted to see the lighthouse at Point Reyes; it's a long trek, but a beautiful drive and WAY worth going. Lots of stairs (likened to climbing a 33 story set of stairs). My Travel Friends and I decided against going down to the lighthouse, but we got some great photos of it. The rock formations are amazing and there are a few old, old whale bones on display. We spent a good part of the day getting to the lighthouse and back. We got there via the Tomales Bay ride on Hwy 1, into the town of Pt. Reyes, had lunch and off to the lighthouse. On the way back there is a road into Petaluma that is shorter than the way we came in, pretty, but not as beautiful as Hwy 1. Next morning, off to Bodega Bay. I read about a CD that you can purchase online at sonomadrivingtours.com that takes you around to some of the most amazing parts of this area. You HAVE to have this CD to do your trip justice. Pop into your player, follow Gay Lynn's talking map and have your camera or camera phone ready. It is a tour of spectacular drives, beaches, and areas that you may never see otherwise. Our friend Susan used to camp in Bodega Bay with her family for years and they never saw some of the hidden sights on this trip! There are lots of places to eat. You may want to look at the ratings for the places there as a lot of the best places are small outside eateries, so weather and size may be a factor for you, depending on the time of year. Overall, phenominal close getaway. Keep it in your choices again and again! Christie

It's a little nicer than a budget hotel, but also more expensive. Tough price point because a little more gets you a lot nicer hotel imho. Location is off highway. Breakfast included, but not great. Have a waffle, avoid the pastries. WiFi and parking included. Pretty good cable TV. Older rooms.

It ain't fancy. Our room and bath were a bit smaller and less extravagant than one might find in a newer motel. But the most important aspects: cleanliness, comfort and quiet were intact. The staff was courteous and helpful, and the price was right. But, the new flat-screen TV's picture was still low-res and snowy; and channel choices were few. Although the complementary breakfast was no more than "average" with limited choices, the adjacent restaurant was budget friendly with well-prepared food from a surprisingly imaginative menu. Would we stay there again. Yes, because the basics for a very reasonably priced overnight stay were in place. And the motel is just a block or so from the U.S. Rte. 101 ramps, and just a couple of minutes' drive from downtown Petaluma.

We had an accessible room and everything was designed perfectly for us. The bed was excellent, breakfast was great and your staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed here because of your previous great reviews and we're happy to add another one!

We had just gotten off a trans-atlantic flight of 11 hours, hired a car and driven north from SFO to find a perfectly acceptable motel just off the freeway with a very pleasant young woman at the desk. Room was fine, breakfast next morning was fine and the sky was bluer than blue. The restaurant seemingly attached to the motel was fine too - although we were a little bemused to be told they only served 52 proof (26%) alcohol in their drinks. What we were looking for was something of normal strength to send us off to dreamland. But for an overnight just off the highway it was pretty good.

We had 15 rooms and came in by bus. We have a 45 foot bus that is 12 feet high. The entrance to the hotel from the street is 9 feet high. Did the math... Didn't work. Bus had to take a chance by parking across the street in a Staples parking lot. The wifi was extremely poor in the hotel. Wasn't working at all in some rooms. When I asked the front desk about it, I was told I could call the Internet company myself. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Outside entrances. No elevator but only 2 floors. Food nearby. It's probably a good hotel for a family or business person in the Bay Area. I just wish they would have actually read the part of the contract with the required bus parking and told us that a bus wouldn't fit.

Our go-to when in Petaluma...great location, on-site parking, a restaurant / bar...nice rooms & a wonderful staff...did I mention the wonderful staff...a safe, quiet area across from shopping if desired.

This motel is by far the best value in the Bay Area. It's 45 miles north of San Francisco and $30 or more dollars less than any of the closer Best Western properties. It takes an hour or so to drive into the city, depending on traffic and time of day. Unless you have definite appointments to keep, it's well worth the drive. We hit it during some rush hour traffic each time, so it may be less at off peak times.

We had lots of options for dining. Also the complimentary breakfast was great for the kids. Waffles!!! The only bad thing was that the walls are thin, and the voices of the people walking by, or smoking and coughing where loud in our room. We'll stay here again.

Best stay at a motel, ever! I would not even consider looking for another motel the next time we are anywhere near Petaluma. Fresh, clean, friendly staff, great location. Best bang for the buck. A+A+A+A+A+A+A+A+A+A+

For the money this is the best kept secret in town. Great place to stay. Clean rooms and comfy beds made for a good experience. Next to freeways but no sound problems. Next door is a great restaurant so all bases are covered. The staff was fast and friendly....my favorite!

This hotel is nice and clean. The staff is tops! Busy location, but close to main road to beaches. The room was a little small, but cozy. The décor was nice. Target and other stores across the street, with on site restaurant. With our military discount, we were satisfied with the value.

Nice two night stay. Clean, comfortable, pleasant staff. Good wifi in the room. Breakfast was ample and filling but I would prefer a healthier breakfast. Location right off 101 is very convenient for the entire Sonoma area.

The room was comfortable but a bit small for 3 people. Didn't realise we needed our key card to access the pool and had given up. (realised next morning). Breakfast area too small for number of people.

This is a typical, nice Best Western, clean and comfortable despite showing its age. It came with a small fridge and microwave. Convenient to Palms Restaurant, which was excellent for breakfast. Not far from wine country in Sonoma and Napa Counties.

Perfect location if you'd like to be near Sonoma but want to save some cash. The hotel is an easy 15 min drive to Sonoma. Great, clean rooms, plenty of pillows and a nice breakfast area. Downtown Petulma is nearby too with good restaurants.

This was our first visit to Petaluma, so we did not know which neighborhood it was located in. It is just off the major off-ramp of 101. However, the rooms are quiet, and we were able to sleep. This is only 5 minutes from the Old Town--many shops and restaurants near the river. Good value, friendly staff and breakfast included.

The room was large, well appointed and clean. The breakfast offers were mostly high in sugar and carbs.. Would like more fruit and a high fiber, low sugar cereal offering. I asked for a quiet room, and was put right next to the highway -- very noisy. I would hate to have been in one of the non-quiet rooms. I would return because the room, service, and breakfast were all a very good value for the price.

Clean reasonably priced rooms. Receptionist very friendly and helpful. Rooms small in the 1980's style but clean but somewhat cramped. Good freebie breakfast with good selection. Quiet rooms given right next to freeway. Also seems to be biker friendly.

My husband had a gig in Cotati last weekend and we needed a room for 1 night. It wasn't easy to find but we got in at Best Western Petaluma Inn. We got there about 3:00 and got right in to a downstairs room. We had a lot of equipment so down is easier. We enjoyed the pool and bed. Tiny but all we needed. The breakfast was pretty good. Hard boiled eggs, waffles and fruit. The women that work there are very nice. Would go again!

My husband and I stayed there for one night. We picked this hotel because of its convenient location and it is pet friendly. The front desk staff was friendly and check-in and check-out were efficient. The room was clean and adequate. The bathroom is on the small side. Breakfast selection is quite limited. It does provide self-serve waffle irons for guests to cook their own waffles. The grounds seemed to be well kept. I have a bottom floor room in the 300 building because we had our big dog with us. It worked out fine.

Nice room, comfy bed, seemed very clean. Was a busy weekend, so there was some outside noise (motorcycles). Bathroom seemed newer and clean. Carpet seemed new and clean, which I appreciate. Could use some double pained windows due to parking lot noise.

A very nice and clean getaway. The cleaning staff were excellent very nice and accommodating. Also everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful. We loved the town of Petaluma also. Cute, with many restaurants and shops to choose from. Close to San Francisco and wine country also.
