"Long term stay and great find."
CharlieEdinburgh, 19 Mars 2020

I stayed at the Queens from January 2020 - to March 2020 and would return to the hotel in a heartbeat. The food was good, and the staff friendly. The rooms are furnished to traditional Scottish three star hotel standards, decent size, my bed was comfortable, the room warm with decent TV and great Wi-Fi.. Yes, there was the odd squeaky floorboard - but then my own home has the same issue too. This was my home away from home during what was no a great winter - it's within easy reach of the railway station and bus station. Ditto the city centre is an easy ten minute walk - or less than five minutes (and £4:00) in a taxi. Breakfast was massive - Continental - Cooked or combination of both was available. In room Tea and Coffee was plentiful - ditto the shortbread was great and there is a small gym on the premises, with a car park less than two minutes walk from the front door.. There is also a premium Breakfast menu available. But for my tastes, the standard menu was more than adequate, I suppose all reviews need one negative and my negative is that the building is not the most attractive in the city - but during a freezing cold Scottish winter it wasn't something I dwelt upon unduly, as I shot through the front door of the hotel to a warm Highland welcome. Highly recommended; in summation: good rooms; great staff and all at a fair price. If you need a room in Perth, the Queens is a great choice. And for the sake of transparency, I have no connection with the hotel other than as a paying guest. .

"Outdated and in need of ALOT of work"
Dawn M, 10 Mars 2020

Booked an overnight here from a group on deal - dinner bed and breakfast. The hotel is very dated, floorboards squeak throughout the full place. They no longer have the pool and only a small gym remains. Our room was tiny, hardly any room for our bags never mind for us to try get changed. Bedside light didn't work, the windows didn't close properly so there was a constant draft, we had to put a towel at the bathroom door. Also the plug at the dressing table was useless, it's so close to the table you cannot get a plug in. We seen they had much larger rooms next door and on the below and above levels that were not occupied, felt it was because we had booked through a deal we got papped into a tiny outdated room. The food at the restaurant was amazing!! Would gladly return for dinner but would stay elsewhere.

"Convenient location"
Anne G, 11 Février 2020

The hotel is situated close to both bus and rail stations so is a good central location. It is a comfortable place to stay though my room, overlooking the bus station but not troubled by it, would benefit from a little upgrade. However it had a comfortable bed and there was plenty of hot water. The food was excellent with a wide choice at breakfast. As I only had an overnight stay I didn't have time to use other facilities - spa etc.

"New Year Break"
Daffodil1972, 30 Janvier 2020

Have stayed at this hotel about 5 times and this was the 2nd year in a row for new year with an urquhart tour. We had a great time with our friends. On arrival we waited ages to get our room keys, not enough chairs to sit on and limited amount of tea & cakes. Bedrooms and the hotel are now looking very tired and old. Leisure centre now closed for good but no mention of this. Most of the food was nice but some of it was not very tasty. Certain drinks only in downstairs bar and not in the function hall so had to go up and down. The only reason I would stay again is the staff as they are all really nice and remembered us from previous years.

"Disappointing"
853christyb, 26 Janvier 2020

We have stayed here before and overlooked the tired decor of the rooms but latest stay was poor. We booked this hotel for the pool only to discover it was shut. Breakfast service was slow. Staff in the restaurant were scruffy and food was average.

"A once great hotel going downhill"
David B, 14 Janvier 2020

Sad and disappointed to see this once lovely destination now tired and needing attention. Our room as a bit shabby and the window didn't close correctly Sports facilities have not been fully operational in our last two visits Staff were excellent as usual, but they have an impossible task Shame it is like this - but I will not use this hotel again

"Very Poor"
123pissedoff, 05 Janvier 2020

On a Hogmanay trip booked thru Urquhart Tours (which had its own problems). On holiday from Vancouver with Canadian wife for her first Sottish New Year. On arrival hotel appeared to be caught off guard with a shambles in allocating rooms. When asked about the delay the duty manger was abrupt and unhelpful, an attitude she kept up for duration of stay. For evening meals the set menu was very limited and the quality of food abysmal. Lasagne was store bought, the cod was off, steal pithivier (pretentious steak pie) was worse than Greggs steak bake (Scots will know the comparison) and sausage and mash was offered as a New Years Day meal. Portion control was miserly though given the quality of food maybe not such a bad thing. The serving staff did their best to cope with the large dining party though 2 girls in particular were surly and disinterested. Seating arrangements were haphazard, twice we had hastily assembled tables. On the last night of trip several members of the coach party refused to dine in the hotel. As for the 'entertainment' on Hogmanay there was a guy in an ill fitting kilt who performed to all his music on a backing tape with the charisma of a wet flannel. Presenting this to overseas visitors as a taste of Scotland is very poor.

"Group Christmas Party Break"
Ali5onB, 03 Janvier 2020

Stayed for 2 nights with a party of 10 (5 couples) for Christmas party break and having previously stayed here a few years ago knew it was in a great location and had pool etc. The hotel is looking quite tired and I don't think any upgrades have been carried out since my last stay (about 10 years ago!) However, for the price we paid can't expect 5* My room and bathroom were both quite large and situated on a corner with 2 large windows so a nice bright room. The room was well equipped with hairdryer, iron & board and tea & coffee. But the decor is dated and tired - the carpet was badly stained and the bed quite uncomfortable, although the bedding was very clean and the bathroom was spotlessly clean with a good shower (once you managed to sort the temperature!). On our first night we enjoyed a short walk into town (about 10 minutes) where there are plenty bars and restaurants to choose from. We returned to the hotel just as the party night was coming to an end and as we were attending the following night, decided to have a sneak peek - looked quiet but good. Staff told us that bookings was much busier for the Saturday night. Breakfast is buffet continental with cooked breakfast made to order. Saturday morning breakfast and service couldn't be faulted. Sunday morning was much busier and service was a bit of a hit or a miss but food was still very good. Saturday party night was excellent, the dj was really great and definitely played to his audience. Selection of food was good and tasty but one of our group waited almost 15 minutes for their main and as we were waiting to eat together everyone else's was getting cold! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the party night, great value & great atmosphere. Unfortunately Saturday overnight was awful - there was a large group of approx 30 females who were VERY noisy and staying in rooms surrounding us. They had music blaring and were screaming, shouting and singing at the top of their voices until well after 2am. Unfortunately there is absolutely no noise insulation in the rooms so this made for a very uncomfortable night. I did go to the leisure centre only to find that only the pool was in commission everything else was closed. The staff member on duty was most unhelpful and clearly didn't want the hassle of guests in the facility so I gave it a miss. This hotel is in a really great location, right next door to the bus stop and train station and a short walk into town but it is very tired and although our break was really good value for money, I don't think I would return unless it has undergone some refurbishment.

"End of an era"
GrampianScotland, 31 Décembre 2019

The leisure centre will close this week after 30 to 40 years of use. It needs refurbishment and the new owners are unwilling to spend money on it. The small gym will remain open but it has only a few pieces of equipment in working order. This area used to be the function suite of the hotel but they now have large ballroom upstairs that is hardly ever used for weddings or other events. There is a lounge bar on the ground floor that is always empty as it fails to serve bar meals. The hotel does not seem to have regular bus tours coming in and depends upon bookings from Best Western's website and companies holding sales meetings for their reps. Guests should note that the hotel is now charging £5 per night to leave a car overnight in their private car park

"Good location, badly needs renovated"
carolinemL3241FK, 08 Décembre 2019

Stayed 3/4 times now. Great location, friendly staff. Cosy bar and friendly Barman John. Hotel badly needs money spent on. Disappointed to find jacuzzi no longer available re needs repaired at huge cost. Not advised on booking or at check in. Also steam room was out of order. At least could use pool and steam room. But couldn't use spa on 2nd stay day re boiler broken, so no hot water for shower or heating for part of day. This normally cosy hotel badly needs money spent on repairs/refurbishing. Will prob stay again if back in Perth however.

"Reason to complain "
arterslawn, 28 Novembre 2019

We recently visited Perth for a family party. We believed when booking a Best Western we could expect a certain standard but on this occasion we were wrong . Without going into to great detail we had more than one reason to complain ! However, the Management dealt with our complaints appropriately and refunded our money for our 3 night stay ! I do believe they now have issues that need urgent attention ! At all times the staff were helpful and polite .

"Not worth a visit"
cutcrew, 25 Novembre 2019

Stayed here with some friends for one night. We paid £80 for a double room with breakfast. The room was basic, with dated furniture and tired looking. The shower didn't even work properly. The kettle in my room set the fire alarm off!!!.. it looks like a work in progress with half painted, unfinished areas. The food was awful.. 3 of us had raw sausage and the breakfast was luke warm. The ‘bar' looked like a community hall,it was cold, uninviting with dated pattern furniture. The night porter was a lovely man he couldn't do enough and was friendly and pleasant. The other staff were friendly too but they all looked stressed and unkempt, it seemed they were constantly understaffed. The location is perfect for the train station!! WILL NOT BE RETURNING

"Great location."
PaulPhilly, 20 Novembre 2019

Being immediately adjacent to the bus station, right across from the train station and a literal two minute walk to the main street with all its shops, etc, you can't get a better location. The rooms are a bit dated and the finish in some parts does look a bit shoddy, but the room was spotless, comfortable, surprisingly well equipped even having a trouser press and increasingly rare now, a sensible size of television in a sensible spot easily and comfortably watchable from the seating/bed due to a moveable arm that gave a lot of options. Too much now I see a tiny tv mounted miles from any seating that result in a sore neck and headache from trying to see that far away at a funny angle, so this was a welcome change! Oh, and there was a full bath, not just a shower and all the radiators and towel rail were on, so toasty warm as soon as I got in.

"Perth Visit"
Paul C, 17 Novembre 2019

Old Hotel Good Location in Perth near to bus station and train station and High Street Good staff service especially breakfast staff. Car parking adjacent to Hotel. Rooms cold on arrival but extra heaters in rooms.

"Overnight Stay for Business"
suegibson100, 17 Novembre 2019

This hotel had a number of plus points: * close proximity to the train station - it was less than 100 yards, saving in taxi fares and less chance of missing the train * Swimming pool open 7am to 9pm was lovely and except one couple for 10 minutes I had it all to myself for a 7am swim * Nice breakfast - freshly cooked and decent choice * WiFi was reliable * At a business meeting in the hotel, the day after my stay, we had sandwiches and a great tasting home-made soup and fab homemade shortbread On the downside as others have mentioned: * this hotel needs a makeover as has plenty of out of date decor in dark wood, creaky floors, noisy plumbing and on arrival the room was freezing. * I was also disappointed that despite saying I was staying over to attend a meeting in the hotel next day, there was no discount on the room charge. Really great location for travel? But if you are looking for hip and trendy environment, you will be disappointed.

"Poor Quality"
Z7152UKjan, 26 Octobre 2019

Arrived late 11pm had informed reception of late arrival was welcomed by a room temperature 3 degrees. Woken up at 4:30 by Citylink bus reversing in the bus station next door reported to reception but not interested. Will give it a wide berth in future but handy for Train Station

"Okay, but needs refurbishment"
IslaT19, 23 Octobre 2019

Lovely staff and very very clean, but very run down hotel. Desperately needs refurbishment everywhere. We mainly went for the swimming pool which was fine, and the gym looked fab though I didn't get a chance to use it. But just generally old-fashioned and full of creaky floorboards and old plumbing.

"Traditional hotel"
KWMGlasgow, 20 Octobre 2019

Traditional hotel and decor. All spotlessly clean. Staff all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and freshly cooked. Had a comfortable night's sleep Excellent value for money and easy walking distance to all of Perth's attractions

"The staff make it!"
Azzagazza, 20 Octobre 2019

Stayed for 3 nights in an “executive” family room with my sister and daughter. It certainly was not executive but was most definitely very clean! The whole hotel is in need of a refurbishment and hopefully there will be some investment made as it is a lovely old building with a lot of charm and is in a great location. The staff make the hotel, every single member of the team were incredibly pleasant. In particular the young man in the breakfast room was very cheery and a bit cheeky!!! He certainly did put a smile on your face first thing in the morning! The food was delicious at both breakfast and the bar food that we ate on two nights. Come on Best Western put some money into this old treasure it deserves it.

"Perth Overnight"
CAPTAINSCOTT46, 19 Octobre 2019

Had three rooms, all were clean. No gripes. Previous reviewers commented on various things like decor and creaky floorboards. Wasn't an issue for us. But does need a bit of investment.Nights sleep was fine. Loved the breakfast, cooked to order, great bacon. Everything was there that you needed. Hotel within five mins of the high street, easy access to central Perth. No complaints, if I had it would have been done at the time

"Rundown and in need of an upgrade "
Allytink92, 14 Octobre 2019

Arrived at the hotel to be met with a lovely helpful cheery receptionist , only cheery thing about the hotel . Room 211 was very dingy tired and dated although it was surprisingly clean . Hardly slept as room was so hot even with window opened and radiator off . Cocktail sheet on each table but we were disappointed to be told by 2 staff members that they weren't trained to make any of the 6 advertised cocktails even though it was a Saturday evening . Breakfast service was good and staff pleasant and helpful. All in don't think we will be returning was expensive night away for what we received .

"80's decor, but comfortable and clean"
Ray131262, 12 Octobre 2019

Yes, this hotel is dated but it's clean, tidy and comfortable. If you can't see past the old style decor then don't stay. Room was OK, quite spacious, bathroom fine, bed comfy. Didn't eat at the hotel at all nor use leisure facilities. Centrally locates with car park at the side. Staff lovely and efficient. I did find at £63 (no breakfast) this was a bit over priced.

"Seen better days."
Aet17, 18 Septembre 2019

Booked in whilst several events happening in the area and for the extortionate sum we paid, the only good thing was clean bedding and towels. Hotel in dire need of a makeover. Extremely small double bed in room in need of refurbishment and bathroom that had a full window with handle, very visibly nailed down. Uneven mastic around bathroom fitments, squeaky floorboards and dirty curtains and nets. Breakfast served in a not very well lit room and buffet which represented boxed standard cereals and porridge in a hot container, tinned fruit selections and yoghurt (not in individual pots) and one choice of bread rolls along with 2 slices of ham and 1 choice of cheese, which wasn't refilled on the one plate that they were displayed on whilst we ate, was poor. Croissants and Danish pastries only were refilled onto an empty plate as we left. Main cooked breakfast was cooked to order when we sat down and although good choice, disappointing in quality. Also seemed some guests had different menus to choose from as some were told mushroom choice were only for guests on different packages??!! When asked how was my stay on checking out, I did say - the hotel had issues that need to be addressed to make guests return.

"Old Hotel with its old charm"
Owen R, 03 Septembre 2019

I love hotels like this, its an old building with its creaky floorboards and bits that need money spent on it. Its a 3 star not 5, so why all the moans. The public areas are all fine, bedrooms are clean and comfy, look newly painted. Nothing fancy but for the price. The food is well priced and pub food type, all filling and well presented. The staff weer all very helpful and chatty, all a plus point in my eyes. We got a great deal for BB and dinner with a prosecco, for that money how can you want anymore. 5 mins walk from central Perth, on site parking at £5 a night. Pool area was good.

"Tired and creaky."
Karent39, 01 Septembre 2019

Stayed for 2 nights for a weekend break in Perth. Hotel is fairly close to the centre and amenities but is very tired and every single floorboard creaks along with the bed! The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean but our toilet didn't flush properly and it's the first time I've seen an avacado toilet suite in a long time. Very dated and the whole decor of the hotel needs done.

"Just missing the mark"
flybazz, 22 Août 2019

Stayed for night room was single so expected it to be simple, room was very tired in decor as was shower room. Biggest let down was mattress was suffering from compression and had seen better days making it uncomfortable, window was broken making it fully open or closed, the security spy hole was taped shut as broken, shower head and hose wasn't clean and trouser press timer was broken. To top it off fire alarm at 05:33 made sure I only got four and a half hours sleep possible. On plus side staff were welcoming at check in and breakfast was pleasant but the fabric of hotel rooms drastically needs to step up at check out I wasn't asked about my stay which was disappointing

"Average"
hayleyshepherdx, 18 Août 2019

Staff friendly, swift and easy check in. Rooms are dated but clean, bed was comfortable but was very warm. I had the window open but had to close it due to the noise coming from the street outside, and just as i was dozing off, could hear someone from the next room throwing up, not ideal! Was also rudely awakened by folk outside walking about due to the squeaky floorboards. Was fine for a bed for the night but i dont think I will stay again. Plus side is also it's right across from the train station and beside the bus station.

"Nice room, nice night, excellent food!"
Stuart G, 04 Août 2019

I was expecting nice and as far as the night went it was exactly that. What broke expectations though was the food. Both the dinner last night and breakfast this morning but in particular the dinner. I got a curry thinking I'd get a hearty meal but nothing to shout home about. What I found instead was an incredible cornucopia of flavour. A bit of spice but not so much it ruined the experience. The room I give 4/5 but the dinner last night brings it up to a five star for me.

"Visit"
hondafireblade1, 04 Août 2019

Shower cldnt move up or down and it not good at gettng right temperature as it takes so long to heat up then it gets to hot as in burning hot Unit is really to large Could do with updating as carpet frayed in places

"Great stay with fantastic pool"
Angel1903, 24 Juillet 2019

Stayed here for 2 nights for rewind festival and have no complaints about this hotel. Staff are always really cheery and helpful. Rooms are fab and quirky. Pool is amazing and breakfast is great. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Perth. Been a pleasure

"Worst of the Best ???"
davidmT4517DN, 19 Juillet 2019

OMG, What an absolute DUMP !! We had the total misfortune of having a 2 night stay in this delapitated over priced excuse for a Hotel , They do not take dogs ( my dog would not have stayed in it ) Room was so small I do not know how they got the double bed in ! ( must have removed a wall first ,,) Stifeling heat ,worn out bedding ,certainly not clean, the creaking floorboards were only drowned out by the noise from the train and bus stations ,which you get in sterio due to the location , do yourself a favour ,,,SLEEP IN THE STREET !!!!

"One night stop"
Brian7392, 19 Juillet 2019

The reception staff were pleasant and the room was big enough for our needs. The beds were comfortable and hotel had parking facilities also. The bathroom and shower were adequate. We were on a room only deal so did not have breakfast.

"Nice hotel a fare way out of the city, and driving into the city was a nightmare."
Ade W, 02 Juillet 2019

Booked directly but did not receive a room upgrade with my Diamond status. Food in the bar was good.Overall average, a typical BW hotel with squeakey floor boards, which is to be expected. Not much in the local area in walking distance.

"2 Night Stay"
Trevor S, 24 Juin 2019

I've stayed in Best Western Hotels around Britain and all over the world and unfortunately this has been my worst experience! It was undergoing decorating whilst I was there but needs far more than a cosmetic lick of paint as is looking very 'tired'. For the quality of hotel I found it to be expensive for what I was paying! At least the staff were friendly and helpful!

"Queens Hotel Perth"
dominict4, 24 Juin 2019

Excellent value for the money would highly recommend, the lads all enjoyed the breakfast and the pool and gym were an added wee luxury. More than happy to return to this hotel which was right next to the train station and bus station

"More Like Very Average Western"
monkeyman99, 22 Juin 2019

The staff were friendly and polite and the location isn't bad but it ends there really, although the room was clean enough - the whole place is shockingly dated and in urgent need of a refurb, the shower didn't work if you held it anywhere above waist height so I was forced to sit in the bath to take a shower. Stayed in better for less money, very very average hotel. (verging on poor).

"Poor Quality"
Hlt30, 16 Juin 2019

We visited for afternoon tea. By far the poorest I have had. The cakes were stodgy and not very inventive. Lacked flavour. Sandwiches can only be described as disgusting. Scone was dry. If you are looking for good food then avoid this like the plague....

"Queens hotel Royal service"
markeB1259KD, 09 Juin 2019

Some people would complain about the creak in the floors but it just adds to the character of the place and whilst it's not a modern building it was pleasant and clean and was getting painted when we visited. The hotel is really handy for the train station and the bus station as its across from either but there was no noise that we could here. The hotel car park is not on the actual premises but the property next door. The staff were great, really chatty, helpful and informative. Our room was a good size as was the bathroom. The leisure facilities were also impressive for the size of the hotel, gym spread over two rooms, nice size pool and both the steam and sauna rooms. The only thing we would say is that if the pool was busy there wouldn't be enough seats poolside by all in all a really decent hotel to stop, recharge and explore Perth or wider afield.

"Last minute break "
719gavins, 02 Juin 2019

A good warm welcome on arrival and was advised that if I wasn't happy with the room to come back to reception. Once in the room it was clean and tidy but very dated in urgent need of an upgrade. Our evening was a bit of a hit and miss with both of our starters needing returned, one for being cold and ther for being overseasoned. The waiter handled all of this well and remainder of the meal was okay. Bed was reasonably comfortable and we slept not bad. Our breakfast service was not great and the person taking the orders was a little loud and we heard everyone in the dining room's breakfast order. Willing to try here again after they upgrade the rooms as it is in a reasonable location for walking into the centre and it is next to the railway station.

"Very pleasant"
Kate T, 01 Juin 2019

Room was lovely, clean hotel, excellent leisure facilities. Food was brilliant, every staff member we encountered was polite and friendly. Great location for getting around perth. Will definetly be back.

"I wanted Retro Chic but got Retro Shriek"
Passenger35535751866, 30 Mai 2019

Could see the Hotel was retro from the outside but I liked this and was looking forward to checking in. Disappointingly the first room I was allocated stunk of cigarettes so I had to ask to be moved (would've though the cleaning staff may have noticed this, it's a non-smoking hotel). My new room was still very dated, as is the rest of the hotel - needs a refurb. The carpet had some stains on it but there was no horrible smell thank goodness so I made do. Dinner was very nice, good service. I was awoken at 530am with constant noise of other guests going along the corridor with their luggage and travelling up and down the stairs. Breakfast was very nice and again the service in there was good. I reported the noise issue to reception when I checked out and got an apology but no good will gesture or any form of compo. The reason I booked this hotel above others was because it had a nice pool and sauna, however if I was to stay in Perth again I would opt to forgo the pool/sauna and book a hotel in a better condition. I would not return and would not recommend to others.

"Cheap and cheerful"
Roam29802041567, 29 Mai 2019

We bit dated .handy that it had leisure facilities and was free Staff where friendly and helpful Close to the Main Street and parking was free overall ideal for 1 or 2 nights Not quiet the Hilton but can't really complain about value for money

"One negative won't put me off revisiting "
MagsBHamilton, 15 Mai 2019

Arrived on Monday for a 2 day stay, check in was seamless with the receptionist providing us with all the information we needed about dining, room facilities and leisure centre. Our room was spotless, comfortable with all the usual amenities. We booked in for dinner on the first night and although the food was good I felt the menu was very limited. Breakfast on the other hand was fantastic, cooked to order with plenty of choice. Service in the restaurant was excellent We paid a visit to the leisure centre on Tuesday morning and found that the member of staff on duty was grumpy and unhelpful, A complete contrast to all other staff we came in contact with, I hope it was simply a case of him having a bad day. This would not stop me visiting this hotel in the future as I tend to focus on the positives.

"A bit disappointed"
hammy41, 10 Mai 2019

Having stayed at various Best Western hotels, don't think this up to the standard we have been used to, definately needs a refurb including the lift there is better hotels in Perth than this at a better rate which in future we would use, couldn't fault the staff.

"Lovely couple of days"
2benny7, 10 Mai 2019

Visited this hotel for 2 days. Room and bathroom good size and clean. Lovely fluffy towels. Breakfasts and evening meal really good. All staff friendly and extremely helpful. Made use of swimming pool sauna and steam room for couple of hours while there. All in all a pleasant stay and would definitely recommend.

"Wedding venue"
buddiesmaid, 07 Mai 2019

Had our wedding reception there. It was fantastic the buffet was excellent. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with plenty options and the staff were very attentive. In areas it is a little tired and in need of a decor update. I would definitely returm.

"Afternoon tea"
alexlornie, 01 Mai 2019

We had booked an afternoon tea with an Itison voucher. The service was first class and the afternoon tea was in my opinion one of the best I have had and that is comparing it with some 5 star hotels. The savoury sausage roll was very good. The fried sandwiches were obviously freshly made. The scones and fancy pieces seemed home made and were of a high quality. All in all we were very impressed.

"Very tired needs an update"
Discover14267239436, 30 Avril 2019

Staff were friendly and helpful however the decor and facilities left a lot to be desired! Bathroom and main room were very dated and the bathroom was in urgent need of a refresh. Very noisy adjacent to the bus station and reversing beepers started at 4:30 am

"Best Western, Queens St, Perth"
Companion00360325766, 29 Avril 2019

I went to Best Western, Queen St, Perth on first time and good service. :D I'll be back to here on next Year. I'll looking forward to this hotel. I leave my car in Leisure Centre. and Problem for parking near Hotel

"Great location"
juls13t, 25 Avril 2019

This hotel is in a great location to get about town. Only a stroll away down to bars and restaurants. Friendly staff, great breakfast choices and a lovely swimming pool to help you relax after your leisurely walk around the town.

"Hotel in desperate need of a coat of paint but excellent vegetarian dining options"
olo14, 23 Avril 2019

My partner and I stayed here for four nights in March as part of an itison deal. The previous reviews highlight the shabbiness of the place, lack of jacuzzi though it clearly describes one on the website and the creakiness of the floors/ beds, thinness of the walls and just the general lack of modern decoration. This is all true and thanks to tripadvisor we went into a a four night stay being fully informed of all the above and felt the deal on itison deal was so cheap it was worth putting up with a bit of shabbiness. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The staff were so lovely and were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. What really made it for us was the food. Being vegetarians, we weren't really expecting much with the included dinner options, however the vegetarian/vegan food options were amazing. Really thought through and incredible planned meals. We are really impressed. The bar was very cheap also unlike a lot of hotels. I really hope the hotel upgrades their decorations /bed etc in the future to the same high standards as their dining. If you get a cheap deal and are willing to put up with drab decorations it's a friendly wee place with lovely dining options and Perth is a lovely city.

Skyejag, 21 Avril 2019

Nice clean hotel just a bit old fashioned staff all pretty good with the exception of the bar man who was never at his station when you want a drink the hotel has a nice leisure centre that that is free the breakfast is very good all freshly made

"Overnight stay"
LightPacker641267, 20 Avril 2019

The hotel is ideally located close to transport links and city centre. Car parking is available. Managed to get space although relatively small. Staff were very friendly and helpful a real asset. The room was clean and tidy as with the hotel in general very dated and needs updating. Breakfast was uninspiring. The is a cheap overnight option, personally other budget hotels available.

"21st birthday and over night stay"
wtm258, 15 Avril 2019

I've stayed here before. Nice easy location to find being close to the train station. Parking is rubbish it's tiny and always full. Reception is alright but dated but the staff friendly. Rooms are very dated although clean. The reception room for the 21st was nicely proportioned and staff very good. Breakfast even though it was cooked it was pretty rubbish the pastries are dreadful quality along with warm milk for cereal. The place has a not bad pool along with steam room and sauna. Just a cheap hotel for a cheap over night stay no luxury here.

"Time to update the website"
Muriel M, 13 Avril 2019

There has been no jacuzzi for several months but the website proudly shows photographs of it. As a daily user of the leisure club I have met many guests who have been disappointed that it is no longer in use.

"Quite impressed"
Jeff1903, 04 Avril 2019

An old style hotel near the station with a pleasant welcome. The room was small, but warm and well equipped. The food in the bar was a bit expensive but nice enough, and while there was no cask ale, the beer prices we reasonable. Breakfast was cooked to order and pretty nice while all the staff we encountered were very nice. Parking is next door, and was pretty full when we were there, due to an event in the function room.

"The room was huge and the staff excellent"
Iain G, 29 Mars 2019

We stayed for 2 nights on the 25th march. We were in room 502. It was massive and very clean. The bed was really comfy. It was a bit dated, but was still lovely. I was very surprised at the bar prices. Usually hotel bars are expensive this wasn't. The staff were very friendly and always helpfull. The pool was lovely, the steam room was nice but dated. The sauna didn't work very well as the door wouldn't close fully. Was a lovely hotel for the price. If u look past the dated decor it was perfect.

"Back to the 70s"
dave l, 22 Mars 2019

Rooms very dated avacodo bathroom suite it was like stepping back to the 1970s But staff are very friendly and pleasant. Breakfast was great nice and fresh and hot car park not very well sign posted had to ring hotel as I ended in bus park at back of hotel. Hotel needs a full refurbish

"Lovely staff but ..."
marnoch1, 02 Mars 2019

Room clean but very dated and limited choice on menu, there needs to be more thought into the menu. Wouldnt recommend very creaky floor boards in room 312 and you could hear every footstep from room above equally squeeky floorboards. Bedrooms long over due a facelift

"Friendly and cosy!"
allisont994, 24 Février 2019

Stayed 1 night with my young son in this centrally located hotel. The main thing I would say is FRIENDLY! The staff were absolutely lovely, and we felt so welcome from the moment we stepped inside. As expected it's an old building and as such the rooms reflect this but don't let that put you off. The beds were comfy and the room had everything we needed. Best of all, the pool, which was just fab! I'd definitely come back!

"Excellent location"
yelobuni, 19 Février 2019

Very friendly staff ,efficient check-in, massive room, bar and restaurant on site, right next to the station, free parking, very central. Fantastic overall, can't complain There was a fitness room and pool but we never managed to use either.

"Perth Night"
NorthStar25607989077, 18 Février 2019

The Queen's Hotel is in an excellent location, only a short walk to the center of town. The hotel is very nice, just a bit dated. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, you can have a much as you like to eat, no-way you leave there hungry. The pool, sauna and steam room are very good, just a pity there is a problem with the jacuzzi which will probably be out of order for a long time.

"Break Away"
scotland1961, 16 Février 2019

Visited this hotel earlier this week. It was tired and noisy. There was a lot of doors slamming from about 6.30am and the traffic was also loud. The pool was small, the door of the steam room was broken dispite Bernini closed for maintenance only a week before. The jaquzzi was still out of order but no one told us. However the staff were lovely and the breakfast was excellent. Overall we were disappointed with our stay and certainly would not return or recommend it.

"New Year"
Daffodil1972, 28 Janvier 2019

We were here for 3 nights to celebrate New Year with friends on a David Urquart coach tour. We had stayed in the hotel before so knew what to expect. Train & bus station on doorstep. Shops, restaurants and bars close by. Staff very nice and friendly and took time to speak to us. Food really nice and a buffet at the bells. Swimming pool available & a car park. Lovely big towels in bathroom. Would definitely stay here again.

"New year getaway"
betty105glasgow, 12 Janvier 2019

Booked this hotel with Urquhart coach holidays and have to say this has been one of the best new year holidays and we've been going away for 19 years . Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful whole time and got a good laugh with them as well . The food was great and always hot and served on hot plates too. Choice of up to 9 items with any kind of eggs , that was after you had your usual cereal , fruit juice , fresh fruit and all that goes with it . Main meals were of same quality all served by the lovely staff . Only 1 downside was the entertainment , both nights being the same girl singer who didn't really play to her audience but we made our own good times . Went on excursion to Dundee if you like shopping that's the place to be . Before making our way back to the coach went into a couple of bars which were bouncing with atmosphere . On new years day we went to pitlochry for a massive street party which was absolutely out of this world . The hotel was spotless with beautiful huge soft pure white towels . Everywhere in the hotel was just immaculate so this is definitely on the list for a return visit . Train and bus station just outside of hotel and very handy for shops etc .

"HOGMANY"
Alan M, 03 Janvier 2019

THIS WAS OUR 1ST TIME AWAY FOR THE NEW YEAR, we went on a tour with Urquhart tours, to this hotel ,staff were very good the food was great and the tours to Dundee and Pitlochry streetparty was just the icing on the cake. If you,re looking for a good time away at new year this is the trip for YOU.

"David Urquhart Holiday"
SirStubby1, 02 Janvier 2019

The hotel and All staff were exceptional Always helpful and smiling The food was always hot and tasty The rooms comfortable and hot All in Great value for money and will certainly use again The excursions to Dundee and Pitlochry Street Party were just the correct , in my opinion , length of time I often wonder what people look for when booking a holiday and found that the 11 people who were in our party were all in agreement that they had chosen the right holiday To any member of David Urquhart or Queens Hotel, Perth, who may read this. Thank You for working for companies who put their clients first

"Fantastic hotel"
Nigel C, 26 Décembre 2018

Loved the staff at this hotel, very friendly and liked the fact there was gym. I arrived too late to use it but made the most of the bar and had a lovely meal. I will definitely be back and looking forward to it .

"Christmas Party"
WelshyandLainey, 11 Décembre 2018

Two minutes from city centre and next to railway station and has hotel parking. Typical Christmas Party Night. £28 party night and cheap rate for bed and breakfast. Rooms were cozy and very clean and bed well presented. Shower screen for bath was poorly fitted and water ended up on floor. Water could have been warmer. Party night was good. Meal was excellent and that's hard to achieve on these nights. Our table were all impressed. DJ was poor and needs to forget the 60s and 70s music. Fair enough to play occasional classic but it appeared to be his main stay and he was not for taking requests. Later on he did play a little newer music. Breakfast was really good and staff throughout deserve praise. Good value overall so if you are thinking about it I'd go along.

"Great on service!"
Gordon H, 25 Novembre 2018

Hard to ignore that the hotel is not new, but that said, I had a lovely stay for a weekend conference recently. The food was well priced and excellent value for money rather than 'extra special', but the service more than made up for that. I would certainly stay there again!

"weekend break"
Angela L, 10 Novembre 2018

lovely weekend break to see a concert in Perth. Good location and not to far from town, hotel was lovely and quiet. Enjoyed the leisure facilities, Very nice to be served breakfast from a menu and not buffet style for hot food. Would stay again

"Excellent value"
Peter W, 31 Octobre 2018

An older hotel probably in need of an update but all in a very pleasant stay for one night. Nice pool and sauna made for a very relaxing evening and the full Scottish breakfast was more than ample. Excellent value

"Close to train"
JacknQueenie, 27 Octobre 2018

A stopover point to get an early train you can walk across to station. Very convenient. The hotel is old and rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The staff is so very helpful and friendly. Anything we needed they made happen.

"Great accommodation in Perth."
mickhilton, 26 Octobre 2018

I stayed here last week, with colleagues staying in another room in the same hotel, so this review includes feedback form the three of us. Firstly, the rooms. Comfortably heated, so despite strong wind I didn't have to sleep with pyjama's etc. But I wasn't a sweltering mess either. The balance was just right. I stayed in a single, my friends in a double. There was a decent amount of space, and I enjoyed a bath as it's not shower only. The food both in the evening and the morning was of a good standard. To work up an appetite one of my friends even enjoyed the use of the on site swimming pool. The staff, especially the young waiter we had in the morning, could not have been more helpful or courteous. They really made you feel like they wanted to please. As for the price, very reasonable. I will definitely stay there again when in Perth.

"Staff are incredible, pool is nice, but hotel very run down"
Joanna381, 26 Octobre 2018

I stayed here for two weeks, I couldn't have felt more welcome. The staff were the friendliness people I've ever met! I cannot speak highly enough of them, they were fantastic. The pool was lovely, and the changing rooms were always clean. The gym was actually a fairly decent size, and fairly well equipped. We ate at the bar twice and it was nice pub food. However the hotel is seriously dated and run down. The carpet is worn, the floorboards creak, the windows let a draft and noises in, you can clearly hear people walking round the corridors, the shower isn't powerful and sometimes I struggled to get it warm enough, the pillows were thin and the furniture dated. The wonderful staff have saved this review from being terrible. I may go back as I felt close to the staff by the time we left, and it was convenient having the pool, but they will have to update the hotel soon, it really had a poor appearance

"Requires attention"
Alistair C, 20 Octobre 2018

Selected the hotel from other reviews. On the first night the fire alarm went off, tried phoning the hotel reception to find out what was happening only to get put through to the welcome to the queens hotel, press one, press two and could leave a message. So we followed the instructions and made our way from the fifth floor only to pass member of staff in the corridor, people using the lift and arrived at the reception only to be told that there was not a fire. Raised the point of the phone only to be told that that is how the system works. Did not get the warm fuzzy feeling. Went for breakfast and the quality was fine enough but the wait of thirty minutes to get the cooked breakfast was disappointed. Would not stay again or recommend it.

"Training Course"
Angryhaggis63, 19 Octobre 2018

This hotel is located right across the road from the train station & bus station, so ideal for anyone not driving. As already stated by others the hotel is looking tired and in need of a lick of paint, however: The hotel has 4 floors of bedrooms, ranging in double and single occupancy rooms. The food was excellent and great value for money. The bar is small but ideal for the amount of guests in at the time I was there. The room was ideal, comfy bed, en-suite, tv in the room and an iron and trouser press. Bathroom was small but ideal for a one person occupancy. I would use it again as it was at a good price and ideal location to public transport. As always you get what you pay.

"Disappointed."
Susan M, 01 Octobre 2018

A one night stay was enough! The room was tired but clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the use of the pool and sauna, all seemed clean in that area. Decided to have a evening meal in the restaurant, bit disappointed with the service and the food. The young waiter was pleasant and tried hard, but lacked finesse and training. Breakfast was a disaster, service slow, staff didn't replenish plates, clear tables etc. Food not good, therefore a great deal of waste, shame!

"Disappointing"
PeterCRiches, 28 Septembre 2018

I love Scotland and Perth is a fine town, I selected Queens as I needed to be close to the station and being a Best Western thought I would get good value. Tired and weary is the only comment I can make, a room which looked grubby, though was not just poorly presented. A shower in which it was almost impossible to turn and TV service from the dark ages. The menu was limited and the chef did not seem to be that helpful. The only positive side was the service on reception and the lounge bar. If I had been there for longer, I would move hotel. Over priced for what was delivered

"No service at all"
pmydon, 16 Septembre 2018

I was in two minds about posting a review but on balance think I am fair here. We had half an hour to wait for our bus at the adjacent bus station. We decided To pop into the Queens for a coffee and/or drink on Sunday lunchtime. When we arrived in the bar there were two servers behind the bar and two customers in the public area. There was some sort of issue with the till which one of the staff was trying to resolve. I waited patiently at the bar for fully ten minutes. At no point did either of the bar staff make eye contact or say “Be with you in a minute”. In the end we walked out. Not great.

"Comfortable but dreadfully dated."
jlogan1302, 12 Septembre 2018

The hotel is really tired and very dated (1980s furniture and decor). That said it was comfortable and clean and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We were served an excellent cooked breakfast which was really good quality and delicious.

"weeks stay with touring party"
Jake G, 09 Septembre 2018

stayed at the queens from 1st sept to 8th sept with 55 others whilst we toured Perth and surrounding area, whilst i cannot cement of everyones rooms mine which was 503 was lovely, a large comfy bed, good shower, bed made up daily and refreshment replenished daily. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice at the buffet, and a cooked menu for after that was served piping hot and i was free to pick and choose items if didnt want all, The evening selection we had was a set menu for us with 3 choices in each course ans was served to table promptly, but the restaurant menu looked good and food e was served or i saw delivered to others looked great.. can sat without question all the staff were polite and attentive to our asks,, The pool was small but adequate and was used daily by many of my group as was the gym area.. very central hotel with lovley stroll to the parks or the town centre about 10/15 minutes away bar area was ok with plenty of seating my only negative was my drink of choice is vodka so a premium vodka to offer along side the normal brand would have been good but for the whiskey drinkers plenty of choice,,just have a Grey Goose or Stoli on offer then that would be perfect

"Well located Hotel."
D1020NLjosepht, 07 Septembre 2018

Stayed here for two nights. Thought the room was a bit dated but I can honestly say the bed was extremely comfortable and I enjoyed the best sleep I had had in a long time. It has free parking. Perth is a lovely town and has a lot to see in it . The hotel is a perfect base for travelling around the area. The bus and railway station are minutes away and there is a great train service to Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The hotel offers a leisure centre and has a nice restaurant offering a good selection of meals. If updated this hotel would certainly be rated a four star .The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Well worth visiting for a short or long stay.

"Good hotel"
sheila4281, 31 Août 2018

Stay here regularly when we are here shopping. Always use leisure facilities which are great only 10 minutes walk to town centre normally go out to eat but always pay to have breakfast in hotel which is always very good large selection.

"Good location"
Tony O, 27 Août 2018

An old building that is showing it's age. Great location for the train station and bus station. About 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The hotel was clean. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was fine. Free parking is limited.

"renee"
MaryM2988, 22 Août 2018

This hotel is comfortable and convenient for most tourists and business people. We have stayed here many times and would say their friendly attitude promotes a visit to ScotlandIt is very convenient for rail or motorist travel

"Great hotel"
loislumsden, 15 Août 2018

Having read some very poor reviews, we were a bit apprehensive going there. However, why some people complained I have no idea. Ideal situationacross from the rail station and also bus station. Own parking. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Room and good sized bathroom spotless. Leisure faciliities ideal, and we enjoyed our swim in the lovely pool. Ate in the bar from an excellent menu. So...absolutely no complaints! If I had to be picky, it does need updated, but cleanliness is more important, and it was.

"Lovely hotel"
VALERIE G, 09 Août 2018

Very convenient for train or car park. Good food. Great swimming pool . I enjoyed the food In the restaurant and eAsy walk to town centre. Couldn't fault room and service and food and good value in bar and restaurant

"Average hotel"
gerryduffy1888, 06 Août 2018

Stayed at this hotel for 2nights..great location near train station..staff very helpful and pleasant nothing too much bother..the room was very shabby definitely in need of a make over..spa is quite good not busy.

"Good choice!"
Tracy M, 31 Juillet 2018

I was very happy with the welcome we received on arrival to the hotel. Its location is ideal as it is central to the town centre. I enjoyed using the pool, sauna, steam room and the jacuzzi - great to relax. There was also a nice atmosphere in the bar. Barmaid was very pleasant! I would stay here again - highly recommend.

"reasonable for short visit"
italianlady2018, 30 Juillet 2018

the room itself was fine a bit small but ok for 1 night. It could do with a bit of modernisation (avocado suite) and the shower was quite small also the towels were becoming a bit marked with use it was comfortable and I slept very well despite it being next to the bus and train stations!

"Ok if you get a quiet room"
John F, 27 Juillet 2018

We stayed at the Queens Best Western for a weekend recently and had both good and bad things to review. The good points were that the staff were really helpful, food (we had breakfast and dinner) was good quality and reasonable value and the spa facilities were just fine - kept clean and tidy and plenty of choice of pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. It's also a great location in being very close (opposite !) to the railway station and a short walk to Perth town centre. The not so good points were really about the rooms. They are not large - although may be some larger ones - and in this weather they have no aircon so absolutely stifling at night. And then the real issue ... you need the window open because of the heat and this means you hear street noise of people milling around and cars driving by. It's massively worse if there is an event on in the hotel - the function room is on the first floor and the noise of band/disco just rises ... until early hours of the morning. Overall , if you could ensure a quiet room it is actually reasonable value for money given the spa facilities. Top tip - book breakfast the day before and it's a lot cheaper.

"We stayed for a week. The hotel was absolutely fine. The rooms were more than adequate."
Emmat93, 23 Juillet 2018

Due to an unexpected adddition to our party we had to request a larger room which the hotel was more than happy to accomodate. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The leisure facilities were spotless. We enjoyed breakfast every morning and on the occasions when we dined in the hotel restaurant we found it very good.

"Dated rooms and very noisy"
Sunblueskyy, 19 Juillet 2018

Room was very dated needs a refurbish. Window in the bathroom wouldn't open. I was woken in the middle of the night by drunk people from a birthday party that was being held in the hotel. Also the fire alarm woke me very early in the morning and it was a false alarm someone had let steam from the shower near the fire alarm according to staff. Staff were great and friendly. Easy check in and out.

"Overnight stay"
Kay W, 09 Juillet 2018

Stayed here on Sunday night room was nice but due to hot weather needec to open windows so a little noisy as near bus garage. Leisure facilities are very welcome addition but place is a bit tired.sauna and steam room doors were hard to close.I have stayed here previously as great location but feel could do with a little up dating breakfast was good.

"Tired"
woodygorman, 01 Juillet 2018

Ample parking but have to say that was the only real +. Hotel and health club decor is tired and needs updating.room was clean and bed comfortable but again needs updating / brightening. The breakfast had a good choice but the cooked breakfast was disappointing . I had 2 poached eggs and 2 sausages. One egg was soft the other hard and water all over the plate. Other had full breakfast including burnt tattie scones!

"Bad"
Steve P, 29 Juin 2018

When I lived in Perth 30 years ago this hotel was seen as the best. It had a good reputation. Sadly, now it's a poor reflection of that hotel. The room was very dated. It has an old retro radio and clock built in next to the bed. In itself that is so dated. And it doesn't work. The tv is too far away from the beds for the remote control to work. Everything it's so old. The lift is grubby and dirty. £75 a night is outrageous for this hotel. I wouldn't imagine there's much repeat business hee. It's just poor value for money. The noise from outside its bad. Trains constantly screeching past and drunks from the pub rather loud. Such a shame. Was looking forward to staying here but will not be back.

"Experience not recomended"
frequenttravel2018, 14 Juin 2018

My 3 night stay is not to be recommended, in fact not even 1 night. The bathroom fan was disgusting and despite saying they are considerate of the environment they are not. No reuse of towels or plastic cups in bathroom. Ate out on night 3 as could not face another night of badly cooked food from a very limited menu. Better value and quality at Wotherspoons which is a ten minute walk away. Car park not at hotel but across the road and not well sign posted. This is a very dated tired hotel that needs a major makeover

"Will not use this hotel again"
smiler1990, 14 Juin 2018

There was no sign of management in this hotel so the criticisms are not of the staff who were doing their best. The food was terrible at the evening mealtimes, the breakfast food was better/average. We sent food back one night at the evening meal and the next night decided to go and eat elsewhere instead. Some of the waiting/bar staff would benefit from better training so that they are more confident waiting on (I did this job myself for years) i.e. always have your notepad on you, trained to use the tills, knowing the specials/soup of the day, taking away menus when ordered etc The pool/sauna are very good and the rooms were sanitary and everything worked. However, the bar has no atmosphere. There was also a file in the lobby which said this hotel is green. It wasn't from what I could see. There were plastic cups in the bedrooms and towels were washed regardless (all you need is a wee sticker saying 'leave towel in bath if you need it washed' like Premier Inn). These small touches would save money whilst fixing the things above would bring in more money, seems like a no brainer!

"Worst Western"
Rachiefeet, 13 Juin 2018

Best western more like worst western. We went into the best western by accident as we had booked the station hotel which is across the street, which was clearly our mistake. Upon entering the hotel the receptionist asked for our booking conformation as we had booked via booking.com and said that everything was fine, he then reitterated that we were in the station hotel before he took the person I stayed with's driving license then showed us to our TWIN room when we had ordered a double room. He apologised for this and let us into the room. Upon entering we were very dissapointed, the whole room was dirty, there were cobwebs and stains everywhere and the air was thick and hard to breath in. We decided that since we had already paid for the hotel and it was getting late that we would just stay the night. We woke up bright and early after barely any sleep and got straight out! There was no chance that we would eat anything from such a grimey establishment, upon trying to retrieve his driving license we were told that we had not infact paid for the room, after about a 30 second delay we decided to cut our losses, pay the money and be free from this dreadful hotel.

"Clorty"
andypandy13742, 13 Juin 2018

We booked the station hotel which was the hotel opposite the "best western" and accidentally turned up to the best western and told the receptionist that we had booked a night at the station hotel and showed him the booking confirmation, he then told us we were at the right hotel and that he had a room for us just with no key,he took my Id and took us to what I can describe as the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in, it was dirty and the walls were yellow, we looked past this and decided to just go to sleep,I woke up and went to the bathroom which to my surprise had stairs going down into it which I fell down, upon sitting on the toilet down the stairs I noticed a massive gap under the door which made me feel very unprivate, the next morning we went to reception to get my Id and they refused to let us out until we paid money which we were told we wouldn't have to pay the night before, the receptionist said she spoke to the receptionist from the night before and basically we got scammed into staying a night in what I would call the worst hotel I have ever slept in period. Save yourself the money and sleep rough!!! We were very angry and disappointed and we will be taking this further.

"Short Break"
alant2018251, 12 Juin 2018

Elderly couple and adult son received excellent service and advice. Staff went out of their way to assist in parking when the hotel was very busy. The rooms were very clean and well thought out. The water pressure and temperature of my shower on the third floor was excellent.

"Great location and leisure facilities"
carolinemL3241FK, 07 Juin 2018

We've stayed at Best Western Queens before and did so again at the beginning of June re Lionel Ritchie was playing in Perth. The hotel is in an excellent location, minutes from both rail and train stations and within easy walking distance of the city centre. It's a homely hotel with a cosy bar and friendly staff. We always enjoy the lovely leisure facilities there; the pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna. There's also a gym. We'll be back.

"Excellent stay"
DianeP2, 04 Juin 2018

Just returned home from a 2 night stay in this hotel and would highly recommend. Excellent location, walking distance to town centre, we had 2 large family rooms which were spotless and spacious with nice comfy beds. Service received from check in to check out first class. We ate in the restaurant on our 1st night, could not fault food or service received, 5 empty plates were returned and worth every penny which was very reasonably priced, good choice of breakfast from full Scottish to fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals, rolls, croissants, Danish pastries plus lots more, We also made use of the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. I would like to give a mention to John the barman and thank him for looking after us on our last night, such excellent service received in all areas of this hotel, would not hesitate in returning or recommending.

"Stop over"
jamilex76, 29 Mai 2018

We recently visited Scotland for the bank holiday weekend and on our way down to Edinburgh from Aberdeen we stopped over night in Perth for a rest and shower. The hotel staff we friendly, the hotel did look like something from an old 80's horror movie... incredibly dated, squeaky floors, very hot... that said we had a pleasant stay it was clean and good enough for a night pit stop. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast tho we did complain about the breakfast and the staff were understanding enough to not charge us. Perth was a Beautiful place to stop over and on the whole could have been worse.. Ah, also slightly overcharged for room

"Comfortable but dated"
Jane D, 27 Mai 2018

Hotel is old fashioned compared to what we are used to, however is clean and comfortable, bed was very comfy! Floorboards very squeaky, and no air con so was noisy most of the night as we opened the window and our room was street side. Breakfast was mixed experience, hubby enjoyed his, however my scrambled eggs weren't cooked enough for my liking. Overall a good stay, free parking and 5 mins walk to town centre

"Handy location, Good breakfast & nice room - but needs more lighting"
Ian M, 27 Mai 2018

Check in and out were handled very efficiently and quickly, and I thought the hotel was in a good lcoation. On heding to the lift there was a selection of brochures about varuous local attractions, but no light so impossible to see what these were. I'd suggest either getting a light or moving the lfyers to a brighter location My room was very comfortable and the bahroom looked as if it had been modernsed. Comfortable bed and plenty of storage space too When I went for breakfast the first morning, the room where it was served was quite badly lit-the second morning more lights had been turned on, so maybe just an oversight on one occasion Good Scottish breakfast and pleasant service If coming back to perth, I would definitely stay here again-handy for tien and public transport

"Superb"
Patricia O, 26 Mai 2018

Lovely welcome Room ok on 4th floor but noise of movement from room above was incessant due to noisy floorboards. Leisure facilities are superb / high levels of maintenance and supervision are evident and much appreciated. Thankyou Need more info re access to town centre. But it is close enough to enjoy all Perth has to offer from theatre to cuisine. Be aware that perth is not a 'late' city so hit the streets early if you want a full night out!

"Very comfortable"
Berdy2014, 23 Mai 2018

Old style hotel probably in need of modernisation but very comfortable. Good sized rooms and bathrooms. Very comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. The staff are helpful and friendly. Car park beside the hotel that is free for guests. Good value.

"Good location & comfotable"
JulieDuck, 21 Mai 2018

Booked for a Hen party so wanted something cheapish but comfortable. This ticked all boxes. Near train station and walking distance to shops & restaurants. Our double rooms were clean, spacious and beds comfy. Bathroom dated but clean. I would say all the decor is dated but well maintained, not shabby. We didn't use the gym or pool. Breakfast was good we had food cooked to order there was also a limited buffet with cereal & fruit salad etc Would stay again if I return to Perth for a weekend.

"A week in a single bed"
Jim F, 19 Mai 2018

Booked through an agency and for the first time in probably over 30 years I opened my room door to find a single bed! Nightmare. The hotel was clean but in need for some significant investment as it was looking very tired. It would not be a place I would willingly return to. It is however ideally located between the bus and railway stations.

"good value hotel just needs upgrading"
Peter Y, 18 Mai 2018

Stopped one night away with work. Really friendly staff from reception to restaurant very helpful and pleasant. The Hotel and in particular the Rooms were very clean. The hotel and the rooms are in need of refurbishment which has been commented on by others, in particular the bathrooms which are old and dated (not very often you find a wooden toilet seat in a Hotel bathroom nowadays from my experience) - although i will say they were very clean despite the age of the fitments and tiling. I ate in the restaurant for my evening meal and breakfast and the food was excellent and good value and i would definitely eat here on my return. I would use this hotel again for work if i am in Perth. All round good value for money and very clean.

"Great stay in Perth"
grahamfinlay69, 12 Mai 2018

Fantastic stay in Perth, 20 metres from train station and very central for town. Gym, sauna, swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room all free. Will return again soon. Plenty local bars and restaurants nearby. The Foundry is very reasonable and Pizza Express was nice on Methven Street.

"Really Needs Renovating!!!"
vishalpatel2018, 11 Mai 2018

Stayed here many times over the past year and though it is fine for Perth, it really needs some serious renovation investment. At the least, it could do with new mattresses in every room (I have stayed in rooms on every floor and usually have one of the top floor suites). Décor could do with some lighter paint on the walls so it doesn't feel so dreary.

"Great stay"
ab12984, 06 Mai 2018

Stayed in the hotel for one night the staff were very helpful the room was a great size and had a great sleep in the large bed I would have given the hotel a five if there had been a choice of pillows The hot breakfast was good to order and was very tasty

"Never again"
Sue A, 30 Avril 2018

I have never been so dissatisfied with a hotel. Very tired hotel. Small lift. Short staffed so had to wait for service. Room above entertainment venue, no warning given about a 21st party. When complained about the load music was asked what I wanted them to do about it. It would have been nice to have been warned about it on checking in. totally ruined my time in Perth due to lack of sleep. Will definitely not be going back.

"Perfect location"
xxx_LB_xxx, 30 Avril 2018

Perfect location. Next to train Station, Food and shops. Pool and Gym lovely. More free weights would be better. Room 307 needs updating but clean. Not enough power points & beds uncomfortable and squeaky. Breakfast very nice. Staff helpful & pleasant.

"Great little place for lunch"
JP G, 18 Avril 2018

We visited Perth for the day and stopped here for lunch, the service was excellent and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town and looking for a bite to eat.

"Hard mattress"
WillieCrighton, 02 Avril 2018

We just spent the Easter weekend Friday till Monday only 2 things to falt this hotel It's self is needing a up grade & room 410 the room we where in the mattress was so hard, apart from that everything was good the swimming pool was good ect good breakfast as well, Would come back again.

"Great central hotel for city night out"
douglas b, 02 Avril 2018

This hotel is perfect for city centre pubs and restaurants, the room was clean and spacious, beds spotless and all at a good price. Do not be put off by some people who have posted bad reviews, this hotel is probably one of the best Perth has to offer, the liesure complex was very nice, small pool, jacuzzi and steam room, it seemsd they limit the amount of persons in that makes it more enjoyable. Breakfast was great, as much as you want, help yourself to cereals, coissants and fruit etc, full scottish fry or smoked fish, nothing was a problem. I would recomend this hotel to any of our friends, staff were friendly and good value for a night in Perth. Will go again

"Yikes!"
Sam H, 15 Mars 2018

Having stayed in the other local Best Western I had positive hopes for this stay for several nights. However, it failed in numerous ways. The staff were friendly up in my arrival and were helpful to several questions I had about the hotel and local area. Whilst I as in a single occupancy room I was still surprised at the cramped feeling. I would've thought it would have been more appropriate as a store cupboard! The room whilst was clean, needs an update and looks knackered. I was disappointed that there was no bath and a 'power' shower...with little power. You could sit on the toilet to do your business if the radiator was on as this was directly next to it and you would therefore burn yourself. A deal had been placed in front of the radiator in the room so if you wanted to turn the heating on you had to guess how much you had turned the dial as the desk blocks you from seeing this. There was also a lamp above the bed but no power switch. Very odd. Breakfast on the first morning was pleasant- what I expected. However dinner that evening was incredibly poor. Service as extremely slow and with a number of hotel residents the two staff who appeared to be run of their feet couldn't keep up. The next morning breakfast was rather disappointing- again slow service and they failed to take my correct breakfast order. My biggest gripe was being awake at 1am by continual movement in the downstairs of the hotel by what I assume was someone moving furniture or unloading something. This started at 8pm the previous evening and carried on throughout the evening. I did manage to fall asleep but was awake by the noise. I called reception and was told this noise would stop immediately- but it didn't. It went on for a further 2 HOURS! All in all a shocking stay, I hardly slept whilst there and even the basics of hotel etiquette wasn't found. I travel on business frequently and will not be staying here again and book elsewhere in the local area.

"Ok for work, not somewhere to bring the missus"
Andrew M, 12 Mars 2018

Arrived early evening and receptionist was pleasant whilst booking in. Grabbed a mediocre pint from the bar. Checked in to room which could do with an update. Not somewhere id particulary come to with the wife for a dirty weekend but fairly clean and staff pleasant.

"Awful"
AnotherGeordie, 11 Mars 2018

This was a truly awful stay, please see my previous reviews this is very much the worst place I've written about. The hotel is well located for the station and when I arrived I was in some discomfort having put my back out the morning of travel so the lady on reception directed me to the local tesco's and offered to store my bag behind reception until I returned. So far so good, unfortunately that was the last positive. I returned to the hotel to find reception abandoned and my case on display for anyone walking in to see. I waited a full 5 minutes including checking the bar area for a member of staff but no one was there. In the end I went behind reception and retrieved my case before finding a cleaner to let them know what I'd done. When I got to my room I discovered the over bath shower was running cold, I told reception (who apologised for leaving my bag) and asks for it to be looked at the following day. The maintains nice man came the following morning as I was heading to my meeting, I was told later that day the issue was fixed so I was surprised to find the water still running cold. When I told reception the problem still existed I was moved to another room that had the same shower only this time with hot water. My meetings finished early and I enquired about cancelling my final night at lunchtime only to be advised this would not be possible as it wasn't my first night (which had a 4pm cancellation) - despite having several rooms, conference facilities, the hotel leaving my bag to be taken by any passer by and giving me a room with a broken shower. Really disappointing service. When I came to check out the maintenance man was in reception and accosted me for daring to advise the problem had not been resolved. He advised, quite aggressively, he fixed the problem and hot water was running when he left the room. I tried to clarify, when reporting the ongoing issue I asked for someone to come and show me where I was going wrong as I I had spent 10 mins trying to get hot water without success and reception had suggested a room move. I stay in hotels every week all around Europe and this is without doubt the worst I've been treat by staff.

"Mothers day meal"
User, 11 Mars 2018

I went for mothers day dinner today. We had the roast chicken and was seriously disappointed. The chicken was hard and dry. The children couldn't cut the chicken. The veg was burnt. We did complain and we got a dinner off of the bill. My friend is getting married there soon and i hope the food is better for that.

"Swimming pool police "
Pitlochr, 28 Février 2018

Stayed here recently and have done several times in the past . got two rooms at a very good rate the hotel is tired and could do with a refurb but I knew that before I went so no problem there ! our rooms were lovely and warm a big plus on a cold February day again a big plus there !!! My only issue was the pool attendant he was like a cross between a traffic warden and and police officer ordering everyone around like sheep no need for it and put me off going down for my morning swim like I always do at this hotel .

"Lesure complex"
quavera, 21 Février 2018

Used to be a member at queens hotel gym cancelled due to the changing rooms not very clean. I watched the cleaner come in spray the sink and quick wipe and left! I addressed this to staff to where i was rudely told buy the owner if that is the way i feel then don't bother coming back and walked away from me to then shout and buy the way i am the manager.. wow what a way to speak to customers!!! Very rude woman.

"Very Nice"
Liz K, 20 Février 2018

Room spacious and warm (needed it cos was so cold outside); Bath and shower; tea/coffee making facilities; comfy bed; Not far from centre of town with the shops; food was lovely - had our dinner in the restaurant at night and couldn't fault it; staff were all nice and friendly; husband tried out the pool in the morning and had a good swim; bar and food prices were reasonable; just a stones throw from railway station and next to the bus station.

"very nice hotel"
graham b, 20 Février 2018

my wife booked this for a valentines. very nice hotel very central. it is an old building great architecture, staff very friendly and helpful, we got a room with a bath and shower over bath, however i have limited mobility and cant climb over the bath, one quick call to reception we were moved, thank you. breakfast was great

"Brilliant service! Super staff!"
ellanakelly00, 01 Février 2018

Recently had a family celebration there for the weekend. Been previously and will definitely be going back. The food was amazing, breakfast and dinner meals were good each and every time. A big thank you to Ella and Donna for keeping us all topped up with drinks at the bar. And having to put up with all our hilarity. As usual, the leisure centre provides a real bonus to this hotel, as it insures chill and relaxation time. We have definitely found that the staff are a great help throughout. Special thanks to Lynne for being a massive help with the organising, and going above and beyond to help us out. -From the Kelly's

"One night stay meeting friends"
James B, 29 Janvier 2018

Had single room small but adequate, very nice dinner, steak perfectly cooked, breakfast freshly cooked to order, no complaints. Staff very helpful and friendly. The haggis bon bons were delicious as it was Burns time. Cheeseboard was 5 star selection

"Definitely recommend "
catherine1_x, 28 Janvier 2018

Stayed as a big group in the hotel for 2 nights. Yes the rooms are old fashioned so the shower heat was a bit temperamental but it was clean and well maintained throughout. The staff were wonderful all weekend dealing with our various bar requests and accommodating us so well. They were genuine, friendly and all very good at their jobs. The food served at both our dinner and breakfast on both days was amazing, group of around 18 but every meal was piping hot and tasted great! Finally, the leisure facilities were lovely, small pool sauna steam room and hot tub but great for a couple hours relaxation. Would definitely recommend this hotels to others!

"Honest review "
Jen O, 27 Janvier 2018

So.. group of 5 girls booked into lovat hotel. Phone call late on Thursday to say it had closed & we ended up getting booked into the queens hotel on same deal. Then I read the reviews - was dreading ! Hotel is 2 mins from train station, right over the road . Check in was fast & the lovely lady on reception , Kaye, was amazing. She kept us right the whole time. Yes the rooms are dated but they are also very big & so clean. Could not fault them. We ate in the restaurant, omg the food was fab, one of the best meals I have had. Plenty of it & so tasty. We had Donna as our waitress, that girl is an absolute credit to your hotel. She was so lovely, made us a map of local pubs. She is a total star. Breakfast was amazing, cooked to order. Was appalled at the attitude of some guests to the waitresses, just no need. We truly had a brilliant time & I would stay here again in a minute. Your staff make the hotel. Thank you. Jen x

"Worst Food Ever"
Mark K, 10 Janvier 2018

That bad the restaurant is closed now only food available at bar ordered mussels in white wine /cream the smallest mussels I've ever seen smaller than those cheap ones in a jar in chip shop and what tasted like warm milk then a ale beef pie with 4 tiny pieces of meat at a whopping £12.90

"Hogmany Package"
Pedro54321, 03 Janvier 2018

This is the worst two night package ever and we have been going away with friends for 20 years. The food was absolutely awful the menu was very limited we never had a decent meal when we were there. The staff were good but who ever planned the menu or ordered the food needs to go back to school. The New Year night was the worst ever but the next night was even worse. You don't expect not to be able to eat what is served up but it was absolutely awful beef stroganoff with no beef. We have spent New Year there before and it was good. I can only assume they were making a lot of money on the food menu. We came away from the table thinking if there had been a fish and chip shop open we would have been there. The only good thing was the music. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We will not return.

"Best western..........NOT!"
lindastrain50, 03 Janvier 2018

Spent the Hogmanay in Perth here on a Bus Tour, entertainment wasn't too bad nor too good, the food well if that's what you call it was absolutely disgusting, no vegetables but the best was no meat in the beef stroganoff, this was all gravy, one member of staff told us he would feed his dog this!! The meals were just shocking, but the chef had walked out at Christmas said a staff member, shame cos the hotel was clean, but not to be repeated, oh and please watch the shower, it's very very hot or very cold but good luck!

"Ramsay Road Gang"
CR04BCR, 20 Décembre 2017

All seven of us enjoyed our stay, value for money, party night, dinner, bed and breakfast, no problems or complaints at all, fab night had by all. Close to the train station, not far from the centre of town. Carole

"Overnight stay"
Andrena and jam... H, 10 Décembre 2017

Check in was good, nice friendly girl on reception , we were on 4th floor so into the box sized lift we go .on entering our room (406) we thought very small no space to even walk round the bed. Bed very soft and lumpy, didn't get a great nights sleepbecause of this then the noise from the function hall on the 1st floor. Looking forward to breakfast but was quite disappointed as it was just flung onto the plate and looked like a dogs dinner. We were not looking for the ritz but for £80 a night thought it might have been a more pleasant stay. On complaining at check our the receptionist told us it's always like that in month of December due to party nights (could have told us on booking ) not quite the answer we were looking for

"Good food and helpful staff"
Nickeir, 30 Novembre 2017

I was booked in here by work. On arriving, the hotel appeared a wee bit on the tired side and could do with some refurbishment, but the staff were excellent. From the lady in the bar to the receptionist, nothing was too much trouble. Dinner, although in the bar, was very tasty and good portions. The room was comfy, but tired. Breakfast was also good with being able to order what you wanted cooked rather than the typical buffet.

"A quick visit"
doris h, 26 Novembre 2017

My husband and i went in for a glass of wine in the lounge bar . The bar was quiet .i went up to order drinks the barmaid behind bar was busy cutting sellotape and sorting cutlery .we had to wait till she finished before she even thought of serving us and it seen to be annoying for her that we took her away from what she was doing .was not happy with her service .as i thought her job as a barmaid first not all the odd jobs .Needless to say we left after one drink very dissatisfied.

"Not the best hotel in Perth "
tartanlady13, 06 Novembre 2017

We had to stay in this hotel because of a lift problem in other hotel and I can't say I enjoyed it first problem incurred was the lift suitable for 5 midgets only 3 of us in lift and it's best to say breath in saw a poor woman in a wheelchair having to dismantle it bit by bit to get in needs revamped Saw the sandwich for a guest was glad we went out for a meal Rooms were nice enough but we closed our window and could still hear outside noise Shower very difficult to regulate ended up with Luke warm\\cold and not suitable for disabled Password did not work for Internet and when I phoned reception I was told it is on card I tried and it didn't work As for breakfast well that was a shocker your cooked breakfast was fit for the midgets in the lift not an adult 1 sausage 1 egg and mushroom cut so thin I could have read the paper through it tables too cramped together wheelchair access was almost impossible So summing it up as follows this person writing it is not a midget I like my breakfast this hotel is not designed for anybody with a disability

"Average "
Andrew C, 31 Octobre 2017

This is another old building that now shows its age. Tired and need of major refurbishment. Our room was strange and had a staircase leading from the room down into the ensuite. The breakfast was poor and looked like it was prepared much earlier. Creaking flooring all over. Sorry dirty cushions in lounge etc etc. Not going again.

"This is a horrible hotel. Very rude"
HH H, 18 Octobre 2017

We stayed for one night. In the premise of not notice, the hotel charge us extra one hundred pounds. After we checked out in the morning, the hotel didn't notice us and charged us extra 100 pounds. After we found that bank notice message in the afternoon, we phoned the hotel, the staff's attitude is very rude. The behavior of the hotel is just like to steal the money!

"Girls weekend "
Sandra M, 15 Octobre 2017

Had a great time in Perth , we had bed and breakfast in the hotel and we all thought it was great value for the price we paid . The staff were very friendly and we had 2 people with wheelchairs and a load of bags and they opened doors etc .

"Very pleasant experience apart from the shower curtain"
935adrim, 13 Octobre 2017

Staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived in the evening and they made sure we settled in and that our room was to our liking. Good value for money, pleasant atmosphere. Will recommend it to anyone passing through Perth

hotel is dated-i booked deluxe and the room couldn't be classed as anywhere near that description. staff fantastic-no issues. ideal place to stay if you are arail traveller...within stones throw of Perth station.

"Guild "
Margaret R, 02 Octobre 2017

Great hotel, every member of staff, so helpful and eager to please. Rooms clean and very welcoming. Choice of menus, more than adequate. We will certainly return to this hotel , the spa area was also very clean.

"Friendly Staff made the stay "
Ian D, 24 Septembre 2017

We booked a two night stay here to explore Perth. It's located close to rail and bus stations and about a ten minute walk to shops and restaurants, so a very good location. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, it's nice to see good old fashioned customer service. The other old fashioned element was the decor and furnishings of the hotel, whilst kept clean, the place desperately needs upgrading. Our "Superior Double Room" was clean, the bed was comfortable, but did not feel in any way superior. Breakfasts were good, nicely cooked and very fast service. Because of the staff, and the cleanliness, we felt like we wanted to like it more than we did, but the dark dated furniture, decor and carpets kept us feeling we didn't get that "superior room" experience we had anticipated.

"Brilliant Location"
jeanmichelle, 23 Septembre 2017

Very welcoming staff at reception ,excellent location for public transport users rail station opposite and bus station round the corner 2 minutes away. Our room was very spacious and lovely and clean .We were on 5th floor but there is a lift to 4th floor.Tea and coffee facilities with some nice shortbread .Breakfast was excellent loads of choice ,buffet with fruits, yoghurt, cereal and rolls/bread etc.The waitress came and took the order for cooked food from the menu and there was a great choice.Food served quickly ,very efficient staff .Woud definitely stay again and would recommend to others.

"wedding stay"
Charlie B, 20 Septembre 2017

The hotel was a pleasure to stay in we booked it by mistake and were glad we did, hotel was very clean and comfortable only hiccup was the hot water being on the third floor it took a few minutes to get hot

"Pretty cool older facility"
Kermit403, 17 Septembre 2017

As Best Western Diamond members we try to book BW as much as possible and we looked forward to our stay at the Queen's hotel in Perth. We knew from reviews that the building was older but we have stayed in some very nice older facilities so we were not deterred. As we drove up to the hotel we said "looks pretty good". I stayed with the car as my wife entered to check in. She soon returned and told me where the included parking was (across the street) and we got ourselves parked, luggage out and into the hotel. The reviews are correct, the building is old, but it is cool old. our room was on the top floor facing the street and as we entered we smiled. This must have been high end accommodation in the day. The staff was friendly, the room was fine, although some touch ups are needed and our stay was very good. We even booked the room for the next night, which we were grateful for. The breakfast was pretty standard so not too much to say on that other than it was acceptable. The dinner meal we had at Scott's Restaurant was average as well. My opinion is that this hotel should not be changed in the layout or the general details. Some carpets and painting/ fine touches may be required, but this is too cool a building to change anything. We will look here again when in Perth.

"Very friendly"
Tracie P, 13 Septembre 2017

I stayed here with my husband we booked for 3 nights, I had read the reviews before hand I do agree the hotel is dated but our room (502 I think top floor corner room facing Main Street ) was clean and had what we needed hair dryer even an iron and ironing board, the room was cleaned every day. We only ate breakfast in the restaurant great choice, I recommend the poach eggs mmmmmmm. We even ended up having to stay another night. staff very friendly no problem with the extra night. Would we stay here again if in Perth yes

"Great wee find"
laurie1432, 29 Août 2017

The staff were all lovely. Kay at reception went the extra mile. I called about the reservation and she remembered me when we arrived. I asked for an extension lead and some ice and we got this with no hesitation. We also called down to reception for extra tea bags and she provided tea coffee and biscuits in case we needed anything else! Fantastic addition to your team.

"Hospitality second to none"
Lynda B, 27 Août 2017

I travelled to the Queen's Hotel with a private party of over 40. The staff could not have been more caring or hospitable. I have seldom found such friendly staff. The hotel is very clean and well equipped. The quality and choice of food was excellent , particularly as we all ate together in a lovely, private dining room. Nobody waited and we were all served pretty much together. The location is a great Base for touring . If you want to find a hotel where the staff cannot do enough to help you, then you could not do better than book into the Queens. Highly recommended.

"Good Stay"
jayne301006, 19 Août 2017

Pool and gym were great, nice and quiet when I went. Breakfast was really good. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Downsides: Hotel very tired and old fashioned, musty smelling corridors and rooms, shower pressure absolutely useless, thin walls so hear everyone else chatting! We got a reasonably good deal on the room, so price wise it was ok.

"Lovely polite staff, friendly atmosphere"
jackie g, 18 Août 2017

I stayed for one night. room was "snug" (single bed room ) It was clean, has a good shower which wakes you up, room was quiet so had a great kip. Staff are really polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast you are spoilt for choice, they have a hot menu and cold buffet. would really recommend anyone to stay.

"Overnight stop"
JIM T, 08 Août 2017

Overnight for event in Perth - hotel fabric a bit "tired" but the staff welcome and friendliness together with the food made it an enjoyable stay. The situation is ideal for travel and parking within easy walking distance of the town centre.

"2 Night Stay"
Neil W, 07 Août 2017

The hotel is a bit tired but that said it was very clean, large rooms and great breakfast. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Never used the spa but looked good....overall good value for money and bonus of free parking..would stay again

"Great location."
Taylrt, 02 Août 2017

Excellent location next to train and bus stations, 5 mins walk to town centre. Staff friendly but hotel could use an update.has great leisure facilities although never used them. Rooms a bit small but breakfast was good.

"Disappointing "
JohnCleisham, 01 Août 2017

Stayed at this hotel Saturday 29th July as we were attending a family event, we were offered alternative accommodation by family but according to website we could not cancel room without losing our money, what can I say about hotel,, well it was very dated, everyone we spoke to regarding the price of £105 where astounded that it didn't include breakfast, the the staff were nice enough on arrival but the room was unbearably hot, the bed was squeaky and didn't get a good sleep at all, the floorboards were just as bad, the bathroom was probably all the rage 40 years ago but clean enough but the toilet was a nightmare to flush, on a plus side there was an ironing board and iron in the room, I would advise anyone who is looking for something more upmarket to book early and go for something else. It certainly wasn't worth the £105 and I'm disappointed that we just didn't stay with family and save the money.

"Convenient Location, Nice Staff, Needs a refurb."
Pamela W, 29 Juillet 2017

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in one of their standard twin rooms. It is conveniently located in the city centre, close to the main rail station, next to the bus station and a taxi rank. It also has the benefit of free onsite car parking for residents. It is a around a ten minute stroll to the main shopping area, bars restaurants in Perth. On arrival Reception staff soon had us checked in, they were friendly and helpful, indeed all the staff we met during our stay were very pleasant, helpful and efficient. The bedrooms start on the second floor (the ground floor being, Reception, and bar.the first floor restaurant areas. There is lift access throughout, the lift is small - two people with two small cases was just enough. I am not sure if it would be wide enough for a wheelchair and carer. Our twin bedded room on the second floor. It was clean, tidy, but small, we could have done with a slightly larger room. There was adequate wardrobe space, highly polished brown furniture. Tea and coffee making facilities, some lovely complimentary shortbread, hairdryer, trouser press. We found the beds to be very comfortable. The room was quiet with no noise from within the hotel or from the outside (even though we had the window open). The bathroom was clean, with a good supply of towels and a rubber bath mat (the rubber bath mat, wasnt particularly good at adhering to the bath though).Toiletries were in containers fixed to the wall above the sink and beside the shower. Tissues (as well as toilet roll) which was a nice touch - so much nicer removing make up with tissues rather than toilet roll. However, like the bedroom, the bathroom was small. There was a shower over the bath. As the bath was located very close to the toilet and contained a semi fixed shower panel, it was impossible to turn on and off the bath taps unless you climbed into the bath, likewise the plug could not be put in the bath until you were in it. We didnt eat Evening meals at the hotel, but we did eat breakfast. The breakfast room on the first floor was spacious, the tables were dressed in crisp white linen, cutlery was sparkling clean. Service was good. Guests helped themselves to food from the buffet table - juices, water, breads, cereals, fruit yogurt, marmalades, jams and spreads. The cooked food was to order at the table, tea, coffee and toast was also brought to the table. We found the cooked breakfast nice and tasty, whilst the cold buffet adequate This hotel also has the benefit of its own leisure centre - pool, sauna, gym which we didn't have time to use. Overall this hotel is conveniently located. does have nice staff, the breakfasts are ok, the rooms are small but clean and tidy and the hotel needs a refurb. In my opinion wheelchair users may struggle here.

"overpriced for the accommodation provided"
Murray M, 25 Juillet 2017

the building needs modernising. the beds are very uncomfortable. breakfast is quite small (one sausage, one bit of bacon etc). car park is congested. sound separation between the rooms is quite poor - woken up by our amorous neighbours. shower isn't very powerful. arrived back at the hotel at 9.30pm - kitchen was closed; quite early considering most people look to eat after 8pm when they are on holiday. bar was ok. staff are pleasant.

"Average Hotel with good food"
Derek H, 10 Juillet 2017

Generally reasonable but careworn with small rooms with too much furniture e.g just a couple of inches between the bed and wall made in difficult to get in/out of the bed which had a very creaky mattress - a chair needed to be moved to access the wardrobe in which there is an ironing table and iron; however with two people in the room using this could be a challenge! The electric shower did not work and we given another room. Food is imaginative, fresh and well cooked - however staff do not know/have not been trained about coeliac needs. (one waitress said "well you know what you can have"). Generally however, staff were helpful and friendly and rooms clean.

"Good location, but in need of a bit of TLC"
Fiona T, 04 Juillet 2017

Booked for one night, and although an excellent central location the Hotel was very much in need of some TLC. Staff were friendly, and although the room was spacious it was very tired decoration wise. Although basically clean, the room felt musty and there were quite a few cobwebs on the bathroom ceiling. The breakfast was nice , and freshly prepared and the restaurant staff were lovely. Having been here many years ago, I know what a lovely hotel this can be, and I hope they are on the receiving end of a refurbishment very soon.

"Good hotel, good location, sad breakfast."
TazAviemore, 02 Juillet 2017

Stand by my previous reviews of this hotel as a good city centre hotel in Perth. Very handy for station, shops, restaurants and bars. Had a meal in the bar this time which was very enjoyable. Sadly the breakfast which is cooked to order and on previous visits was always hot and plentiful was this time meagre and served on a greasy dinner plate - sausage bacon and poached egg was just that - 1 of each item and the poached egg was flat and hard - disappointing and makes me think that next time will just have room only and get breakfast on the move.

"Shopping break"
DebDenTravel, 18 Juin 2017

Booked this hotel for one night. Checking in was fine once receptionist finally found my booking. On first impression room was big and bright. I hit the shops which are a ten minute walk away. Back to the room to shower which did take an age to warm up and then ventured to the bar for a deserved wine. Barman was very polite. At breakfast the staff were efficient and very polite. The porridge was spot on. Loved having big choice of pastries. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast didn't hit the spot for my partner and I but there was plenty toast and crossiants to make up for the inedible tattie scone and haggis. Check out was easy. Would stay here again but opt out of breakfast. plenty car park spaces too

"Surprisingly good"
Totti M, 16 Juin 2017

Had lunch in the Scott's Restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were excellent. Hot smoked salmon starter really good and the chicken and bacon penne pasta as a main was very tasty with a lovely sauce

"2 night stay in Perth"
jane a, 13 Juin 2017

Stayed here for 2nights with my husband, we didn't use the spa facilities, breakfast, bar or dining room, so can't comment on those. The double room we were allocated was on the small side but not an issue, a bit old fashioned - especially the bathroom with its green bathroom suite with a shower over the bath. Wasn't the greatest or nicest of roooms but we only slept in the room. Was handy for the train station as only a couple of minutes walk and then 10mins walk the other way and you were in the centre of Perth.

"Weekend break with RNA"
Lorraine G, 12 Juin 2017

Nice hotel, the rooms are very clean and confy light, quite old fashioned but fine, everything you need in the room. Didnt try the pool. The staff were very very nice friendly and very helpful, we were at a gala dinner at the hotel next door the station hotel at perth station, drinks were very expensive at the station hotel and there was no ice and took forever to get served so mayb go out for a drink .

"Golf break"
Robbie R, 09 Juin 2017

Stayed for four nights at this Best Western sixteen of us on a golf trip, for the price we payed we got a great deal, a good breakfast and after we played golf a dip in the pool followed by a jacuzzi did not come a miss, staff were great and they sold a cracking bar meal at night. Rooms could be better but they were clean and just the job.

"4 days away with bonus of Excellent swimming pool sauna steam room and Jacussi"
CambridgePenny, 05 Juin 2017

Lovely side room with king size bed albeit a little tired but what do you expect when staying in a lovely old lady of an hotel Room was very clean and an excellent shower . Very friendly staff in all departments which made our stay even more enjoyable. The food is excellent and very good value had dinner twice could not fault it , excellent breakfast with a good choice all cooked fresh

"Weekend away"
Maria H, 22 Mai 2017

Excellent service from before checkin to past checkout. I phoned the day before to see if there was plugs by bed as need medical equipment overnight. A room with such plug wasn't guaranteed but they provide extension if required. Arrived at 10am on Saturday and they kept our bags til we explored Perth. On checkin we found our bags delivered to room with plug by bed. The room was equipped with iron, trouser press, hairdryer, ample towels in bathroom for us. A nice touch in bathroom was box tissues by sink, nicer than using toilet roll when doing makeup ect. Room was clean bed was comfy. A good nights sleep and I complained about no hot water in shower only for my partner to say I hadn't switched it on, power switch by the light switch outside toilet door oooops silly me. I was lovely and hot lol. Down for breakfast we were impressed what was on offer on buffet, cereal fruit yoghurt pastries juices jams even marmite much to my delight. Cooked breakfast order was taken quickly and lovely. Papers available too. On checkout our bags were kept til we went for our train home at six pm. Which was handy as checkin 4 and checkout is 11. There is option to extend checkout but we didn't. The only reason this is not five stars I was shocked at price of soft drinks in bar whilst waiting for our train we would have been cheaper with alcoholic ones lol. The hotel is old and in a review I read previous complained about squeaky floorboards yes they did but it wasn't an issue for us. And maybe a wee sticker on shower switch so idiots like me know what it's for and not complain of cold showers. Will visit again.

"Wedding Anniversary break"
yvonnemcilree, 21 Mai 2017

Had a excellent time at the hotel the staff were so friendly the room was a really good size the only thing I Fiume say was the shower really needs a upgrade the stairs were quite steep walking down them The room even had a trouser press iron and hairdryer

"Horrible hotel dirty carpets stairs unsafe all buckled rooms curtains old tartin dirty bath all scratched to pieces"
Isobel T, 19 Mai 2017

Horrible outdated hotel ancient curtains bath all scratched and toilet dont flush don't bother with breakfast the give you one egg small beans stale rolls shocking Liz looks like it's ready to fall down the whole place

"In need of an update"
bondie34, 05 Mai 2017

The hotel is in serious need of an update. The rooms while clean are drab and tired. The room was very hot during the night and opening the window was very loud due to the station close by. The shower is also outdated. Breakfast was good and the lady serving breakfast was friendly and helpful . I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you want a comfortable nights. I'm sorry we stayed.

"Concert Break"
carolinemL3241FK, 30 Avril 2017

Husband & I stayed 2 nights in March re concert at Perth Concert Hall. Full marks to the friendly receptionist who kindly gave us a lift there on a rainy night as taxis busy! Had to move to another room as there was a bathroom leak to the room below, but got a bigger brighter room. Enjoyed pool/sauna. Our 2nd visit. Will be back.

"Amazing hotel!"
Sarah D, 18 Avril 2017

Cant recommend this hotel enough! Every time we stay it just gets better. Due to family illness we had to rearrange our booking and the manager was very understanding and nothing was too much hassle for her. We treated ourselves to one of the more expensive suites and it was well worth the extra money! We will be back again soon!

"Mum's night of"
Connie C, 18 Avril 2017

Spent one night here. I wasn't disappointed at all. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My room (a single) was spotless and pleasant. A great location just up from the train station and a short walk from the city centre. If I get back to Perth I'd book this hotel again.

"Expensive for what you get"
fiona602, 12 Avril 2017

We stayed for one night recently and I had booked it as we like to use pool facilities if available. The hotel is very tired looking and in need of some refurbishment. Our room was nice but the bathroom suite was like something from the 80's, a nice shade of avocado! The pool itself was adequate but the steam room seemed a bit dirty and smelled musty. The sauna was to a reasonable standard. We paid the extra £8 each for breakfast and I don't think it was worth it, standard cold buffet items and you could order a hot breakfast. Again, everything was pretty average. I felt that as we had paid nearly £90 for the room and breakfast, it wasn't good value for money.

"Good hotel leisure facilities excellent ."
Patrick9Murphy, 08 Avril 2017

The hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly, food was good and the pool was great for our grandchildren, would go back. The area around Perth had plenty to do for kids and the Queens was great base to stay, close the city centre.

"Good all-round hotel"
Steve B, 26 Novembre 2016

We stayed for one night only at the Queen's in Perth, our check in was to be 4pm we arrived a few hours earlier and was greeted by the friendly reception staff and let into our rooms. The room was clean and warm it had plenty tea/coffee making facilities in the room and complimentary shower products. The beds were nice and soft, the only downside is noise from above it sounds like someone is walking about in your room. The location is great it's next too the bus station and a short walk into the town centre. Our room price didn't include breakfast but if we wanted to have it we could and it was cheaper to add it before 11pm that night. Overall a pleasant stay and we would definitely consider come back again and maybe next time use the Spa facilities.

"Perfectly fine stay!"
RRRob55, 24 Novembre 2016

Hotel couldn't be in a better location for Perth station: literally a 2 minute walk, and 5-10 minutes into the city centre. Staff were super friendly and helpful upon check-in and check out, and responded to any queries I had. The hotel itself is totally fine – rooms were clean and had everything I wanted (TV, wifi, hairdryer, etc), and bed was pretty comfortable. Some bits of the hotel are a bit dated now (think 70s wood panelling in the lobby and retro green bathrooms in the rooms), but it does give the hotel a bit of character compared to soulless Premier Inns and the like. For a one or two night stay it did everything I wanted to for a good price.

"Recent Stay"
collegebankie, 21 Novembre 2016

Stayed recently to attend a concert in Perth. Hotel OK, bit tired looking and in need of some refurbishment. Staff fine, room OK but bed very small and uncomfortable. Breakfast good with large selection available.

"Poor needs updated."
Neil C, 08 Novembre 2016

Hotel looks great from outside, reception gives a good impression. I was staying to attend a wedding on at the hotel and it was a brilliant day. Staff (most) were friendly and helpful and really helped put on a wonderful day. However away from the event itself, breakfast menu was ample but cooking was questionable. Sausage could of walked out by itself, it was so under cooked. Waiting staff were a little to keen to clear away too, put glass down after finishing my juice and it was grabbed and taken before I could say I was going to get another drink. Biggest moan though was the room itself, a little bigger than the broom cupboard. Very small and pokey, though clean it was desperate need of a major refurbishment. Ensuite bathroom again clean, the 80s decor needs an update. For £75 per night a premier Inn is a much better alternative.

"disasterous celebration of Ruby wedding"
marybwood, 04 Novembre 2016

Booked into this hotel for 2 nights as part of celebrating our Ruby wedding anniversary .Check in was okay but not overly helpful. unfortunately I took unwell during the night and we made the decision to return home in the morning. I explained the situation to the receptionist when we checked out of the hotel at 0915 and asked to speak to the manageress regarding the possibility of a refund of 1 night she did telephone the manageress but was informed she was too busy to meet us as she was on breakfast duties. We left with the receptionist assurance the manageress would telephone us to discuss situation as I write this 5 days later still no telephone call

"Autumn Delight"
diva62, 04 Novembre 2016

We stayed at this delightful hotel again recently [ we are regular visitors ] and once again we had a wonderful stay . The staff were outstanding as usual , with Jordan in the restaurant worthy of a special commendation . He is a charming young man and he could not have been more attentive . Katalin , the restaurant supervisor , was professional and highly organised and it is always a pleasure to converse with her . The dinner on both nights of our stay was first class and we have never been disappointed with the food in this lovely hotel . One notes with interest that the staff integrate very well and work together cohesively to provide service of the highest calibre . Several of them [ especially those from outside the UK ] have been working at this establishment for more than four years and seem to be genuinely happy here . We shall return and I highly recommend a visit . Well done and thanks to you all .

"nice weekend break"
loulou51272, 03 Novembre 2016

Stayed 2 nights here on their special deal. ok the rooms are dated but very clean nice white fluffy towels. The staff are excellent and the evening dinner was very good with a great menu served by very friendly staff who took their time to chat and make you feel very welcome. Caitlin and Jordan your a star. The breakfast was very good with a great selection. We enjoyed our swim and hot tub steam room. We have stayed here many times over the years and have never been dissapointed. THANK YOU for your great hospitality we hope to see you soon.

"Meh!"
Caroline Y, 28 Octobre 2016

Check in was okay, but reception staff weren't overly helpful or friendly. Upon entering and leaving the hotel (and bearing in mind the reception desk is right by the door) no receptionist greeted us or wished us a pleasant day. Disappointing. Breakfast was hit-and-miss and although I personally had no issues, some members of our party were left waiting so long for their hit food that by the time it arrived, they had to leave it. My room was clean, but the decor was tired and both bed and bedding require attention. I have never slept on such a hard mattress and with such hard pillows. Generally a very average experience.

"Very close to town centre"
puntapirate, 23 Octobre 2016

Stayed here for a concert at Perth concert hall, 15 mins walk away. Id booked online and stupidly booked a single instead of a double, the girls at reception could not have been any more helpful in sorting this out for us. Didn't eat or drink in it, I believe it has a swimming pool downstairs, hotel really quite old but was very clean and did just what we needed at a great price.

"Wedding weekend "
John P, 23 Octobre 2016

Spent weekend here for wedding with the family Hotel is a little dated and the rooms a little small and a nice avocado suite in the bathroom Saying that the place is spotlessly clean and the staff warm and welcoming. Great breakfast to start the day with the full continental and cooked options. A little way out of the centre just by the railway station but was handy fir us as the wedding reception was just around the corner. Would recommend if your happy with the size and old fashioned hospitality style.

"Loved Perth"
stevie243, 22 Octobre 2016

We booked through booking.com and stayed over a weekend. The hotel had free parking and is conveniently located between the railway and bus stations. The double room we had was compact and functional. The breakfasts were really tasty and the leasure facilities (swimming pool) were excellent. The staff were excellent and nothing was a bother. Despite being a Best Western rewards member, I was informed on checking out that I couldn't collect any rewards points as I had booked through Booking.com and that I could've got a better price if we had booked direct with the hotel. This is the only negative bit of feedback. On returning home I couldn't find an item and I contacted the hotel (Katie) who was excellent. She checked our room and phoned me back.

"Just gets better"
Janfor7, 18 Octobre 2016

Were here in June this year and hotel was good but have just returned from another visit and can only say that this visit was just as good. All staff are so kind and helpful, nothing is too much. The food was delicious and the new menu that was introduced was equally as good. We travelled by train which is just two minutes from the hotel as is the bus station offering various destinations. The leisure facilities are staffed all day and towels are provided. I will be back

"wallet dissapeared"
rayflower2016, 13 Octobre 2016

Gave average rating because most staff were great breakfast was lovely poo l was warm . However called fifteen minutes after checking out to alert them that my grandson left his wallet in the room . N o doubt as he never used it and it was not moved from the top of the bed .We only crossed the road to rail station when we realised he left it . No one called back as they said they would and when i called 45 mins later no one had seen it . ???

"Very good value hotel with friendly staff"
janet I, 08 Octobre 2016

The Queens Hotel offers great value for money and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The food and wine in the restaurant were good, the service was excellent and breakfast was a pleasure. The decor was a little tired, but my room was clean and everything worked well. The central location was exactly what I needed, arriving in Perth by train. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

"Queens hotel"
Dale M, 04 Octobre 2016

Once again found the hotel great value for money. Clean & comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Spa facility is excellent. Breakfast good. This is our favourite place to stay in Perth. Good location next to the train stn and 5 minutes walk to the town. Quiet at night. Overall very comfortable.

"Amazing hotel!"
Sarah D, 02 Octobre 2016

Stayed in this hotel four times now and it never lets us down. The rooms are comfortable and the spa facilities are great! Definitely worth visiting for a night away not far walk from the main shops. Will be back soon!

"comfortable hotel with friendly staff"
Shen22, 01 Octobre 2016

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with a group of friends. The staff were very friendly and made us very welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable and my only complaint would be the shower was very difficult to regulate and to switch off. The swimming pool and changing areas were lovely - clean and well maintained. We stayed half board and enjoyed a good selection of well cooked and well presented food. As we were a large group we had dinner at attractively set out round tables in a large, bright function room. The hotel is close to the railway and bus stations and a short walk from the shopping area and from the riverside.

"Ladies on tour"
Margaret R, 01 Octobre 2016

31 ladies arrived for 3 day stay. We had a wonderful time. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, every one from domestic, bar, restaurant, reception and management made this a really great trip. Breakfast and dinner was well cooked and served by really friendly waiting staff. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

"Needs massive refurbishment!!"
Natasha L, 29 Septembre 2016

Staff in general were very nice. Location good. Food was disgusting - Room was clean but very dated like an old butlins Chalet! Had the most uncomfortable night after a 8 hour drive as bed uncomfortable, Thin walls so I could hear the person next door in the bathroom. Creaky floor boards in the corridor and as I was close to the lift all I could hear was the floor boards creaking when people were walking past. Dinner was so bad I gave breakfast a miss and was told by other guest that it was not great. This place needs to shut down and have a total refurbishment. Was booked in for 2 nights but could not bear the thought of another night .

"In need of some serious updating"
Wendy W, 25 Septembre 2016

We stayed here for one night and I am glad it wasn't longer. The hotel is in a great location right next to the train station and that is why we chose it. The staff were in general very friendly but the hotel itself needs a lot of work. The rooms are clean but looking tired and shabby and the bed was really hard with two singles put together instead of a double so you would fall down the gap. The walls were paper thin so you could hear everyone passing by or walking on the floor above. The toilet was noisy with the sound of water running long after you had used it. The shower screen design made it impossible to switch on the shower unless you were in the bath so you had to adjust the temperature through the stream of water which was a battle to get right. The leisure facilities are also in desperate need of a refit. The changing rooms have old rusty lockers with badly fitting locks. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were clean however the timer for the jacuzzi was far too short. The steam room was horrible with rusty walls and a broken air vent. The breakfast was ok, nothing special. For the price we were charged for a night, it was not good value for money.

"Fair location fair deal"
elaav, 20 Septembre 2016

The room was clean, good breakfast, nice reception. The bath taps were difficult to operate- not a good bath experience. Service in breakfast a bit slow. Good parking place. Location not far from center by foot. All in all-good value deal

"Pretty Perth"
Ruraljudge, 09 Septembre 2016

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel which was very clean and well run. Staff made us very welcome and helped with luggage etc. Next to rail and bus station also a taxi rank nearby. Showers were not so good and hard to regulate.

"Pretty Perth"
diane582013, 08 Septembre 2016

Hotel old but clean. Very small town so had a lovely walk after dinner along the river. We had Executive room with King bed. Bed a bit hard. Bath/shower combo. Kettle in room can ask for fresh milk. Staff nice. If you are heading north and haven't seen "The Kelpies" in Falkirk don't miss them before you leave Perth.

"Friendly staff, not modern but nice"
Chris H, 08 Septembre 2016

Quick check in, decor needs updating but somehow fits in. Doesn't feel out of place, just comfortable. Pool lovely. Hot tub nice, sauna excellent. Steam room, as expected, steamy. But hot hot hot! 2 minutes is all I could manage. Enjoyed it all though. Great place to stay close to town with the spa. Good value too.

"Weekend Visit for University"
David William B, 06 Septembre 2016

Very welcome on arrival and room was available on arrival. Room was a bit dated but had everything we needed and was comfortable and clean. The doors are sprung loaded possibly for health and safety reason (fire) so when they close they slam shut, not very nice when your neighbour comes in at 12:30am and for some reason closes the door a few times. if staying again and more than likely will as son is in Dundee I would request a room away from the front of the building overlooking the road, as the buses seem to start around 5, noisy if you are looking for quietness!!

"Gloomy and run down"
Helen B, 02 Septembre 2016

Apart from the friendliness of the staff and the carpark I can find nothing positive to say about this hotel. The Best Western brand really let me down on. This occasion. It was gloomy with everything in shades of brown. Even the chipped bath was mud-coloured, The bedroom furniture was scratched and ill-matched, the window frames were rotted and had no safety catches, the beds were not comfortable, the toilet took many minutes to fill after each flush. The shower was weak and hard to switch off. No toilet roll holder but toilet rolls piled up in shower tray. The room was dingy but we'd had a long drive so reluctantly had to stay for the one night we had booked. And to think....we could have stayed at the Travelodge!!!!

"Wedding weekend"
kathy c, 30 Août 2016

Very welcome on arrival. Although we were early we only had 15mins to wait till room was ready. Room was a bit dated but had everything we needed and was comfortable. Breakfast was lovely buffet and staff very friendly and well trained. Would definitely stay here if in Perth again. Enjoyed our weekend very much.

"Hot tub time rationed"
Lesley D, 28 Août 2016

We stayed here for the central location and leisure facilities. The pool was fine but we were disappointed that the hot tub was on a five minute timer. When the red light appeared we were told by the attendant to leave the hot tub and wait until the green light to go back in. The green light came on again after 5 minutes. When I asked why the timer was on for such a short time the attendant did not know why. In other hotels the timer usually stays on for 20 minutes. The bedroom was clean and adequate but very dated with a green bathroom suite and a mixer shower that was either too hot or too cold. The breakfast was good however with a good choice and cooks to order. Staff were also friendly.

"Weekend break"
Stuart R, 28 Août 2016

We've used the Queens Hotel a few times in the past and they never let us down. This time at the lady minute we decided to bring our daughter and granddaughter who is 4 months old, and the staff were great at helping arrange this. They put them on the floor below us, arranged a cot and everything. Waiting staff at meal times are warm, friendly. Just what you want from them. Great food, good selection and always plenty. Take full use of the gym and spa as well if you're staying. We always do. Definitely will be back.

"good hotel"
Travnow1, 22 Août 2016

frendly helpful staff nice cafe and small bar our room was clean and comfortable off street parking we stayed here 2 nights and found it to be in a good location for day tripping to other areas breakfast was good some other reviews are just not accurate if you stay here you will not regret it

"weekend away"
Roryboy10, 22 Août 2016

This hotel is situated very close to the city centre. There is a bus station near by. Hotel has it's own car park. Rooms very large and clean. Drinks prices were reasonable and staff were very friendly. The only downside was the evening meal menu I didnt feel it offered a good choice, where the breakfast meal was excellent and was a mixture of buffet and table service. Lovely swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room all included in the price. Towels were supplied. Plenty at eating places close to the hotel.

"Won't be back......"
dougie-p66, 21 Août 2016

We we're originally booked for another Perth hotel however they contacted us to say they were double booked but reserved a room in the Queens hotel as an alternative. Didn't have much option as it was races day at Perth. The hotel isn't the best! In need of major overhaul/ upgrading. Our room was very small, basic and dated. Noise insulation was poor - woken several times by doors slamming and amorous goings on next door. If I thought my alcohol level was below the limit we would have happily driven home at 2 am!! Avocado toilet suit, noise from the street, small uncomfortable double bed, tight on space and the only thing more tired than the general decor were us in the morning!! Safe to say it's not on our revisit list. Room was clean at least. Best western - your hotel needs some major investment !!

"beautiful say in beautiful Perth"
iangreenhalgh2016, 18 Août 2016

we arrived on the 13th three nights gentleman or reception brilliant the room on the fifth floor was excellent. the restaurant the food was excellent the menu was a little confusing it needs improving the quality of the food no complaints at all breakfast I think I can honestly say as it was individually cooked to your requirements you could not fault. I was alone to book drinks up to the last nine when the barman said you have to pay of them now little confused by that but we will be back staying at the Queens in Perth thank you the Queens leisure facilities very good

"Scotland trio 8th-12th- amazing stay!"
ali_lew_90, 17 Août 2016

Hi my family and I recently stayed at the Queen's hotel in Perth and reading the bad reviews we were a bit apprehensive however I must say, make your own opinion! After staying a week here we had an amazing time, not only was the hotel cleaned daily with fresh towels, bedding etc we had the greeting of the wonderful, welcoming staff and also the amazing waiters and waitresses who were hard working members of staff and made our breakfast and evening meals much more relaxing! They made us feel at ease and offered advice where necessary! Both the receptionists/ staff working in the hotel from the kitchen, house keeping and bar staff were helpful, welcoming and polite, which made our stay more relaxing! The rooms were spacious and big and had facilities at hand! We were throughly impressed and will definitely be returning! Thank you to each and everyone at Queen's hotel!

"Rubbish, but nice reception!"
aaron s, 13 Août 2016

Reception lovely, so too the restaurant, however when I ventured up to the room it was a different story. The room was awful, hot and stuffy, getting there was a hassle too with the wee staircases. I suggest staying clear of this hotel and going for one of the more modern budget ones (There a few in Perth), that way you get a purpose built spacious room, I totally dislike hotels having lovely receptions whilst getting to the rooms is a labyrinth, and the rooms are disfunctional and dated.

"Overpriced dated hotel"
Bipasa D, 08 Août 2016

Stayed there for one night, the hotel is in dire need for some updating! The room is not attractive! Bathroom ok but the shower is hard to turn off!! Breakfast is most mediocre and lacks choices especially with fruits and vegeterain options. Not enough parking space at all and you could be in real difficulty trying to park your car if you do not arrive early. The (only) good side of the hotel is the pool area which is very nice. Quite disappointed at the standard of this Bestwestern hotel. Highly overpriced for what you get. Won't stay there again!

"charged twice"
Fiona M, 07 Août 2016

We stayed at the hotel in April - had a good weekend and paid WHEN WE ARRIVED. Imagine my shock to find they had taken a payment from my debit card - quite how they managed that I am not sure - they said an operative who had, conveniently left the day before, got my bank details "from somewhere" and used them for a guest of the same name - now to my mind there is something extremely odd here and I do not think a mistake was made. At first they refused to accept that they had indeed taken the money - what a performance and very worrying. I would advise everyone staying at this hotel to check their bank statements for months afterwards as money could just float out of your account.

"Fabulous value for money!"
birdswhobrunch, 07 Août 2016

We booked last minute and got a lovely twin room 209.No great view but quiet and spacious.Spotlessly clean and plenty of lovely fluffy white towels and great shower.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and breakfast was excellent.Short 5 min stroll to town centre and close to railway station added bonus of on site parking. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful with the exception of one female in the breakfast room whose manner was brisk, intolerant and downright rude, but for this I would give 5 stars. However, would recommend to anyone looking for a good class hotel in Perth.

"Last minute great nights sleep"
Melanie A, 05 Août 2016

We checked in last minute as were considering camping but the weather was awful! It was for my birthday so can't comment on what we paid as I have no idea! But the staff were very friendly and checked us in and the room (triple) was really nice. It's all a bit dated, as most best westerns seem to be! We all slept really well. The down stairs seemed to have a lot of older people around! The location was excellent, very central.

"Summer Break"
NorthYorksCharlie, 04 Août 2016

Had a two night break at this hotel to go to the festival in Perth. Unfortunately booked through late rooms and paid a premium rate for a very basic hotel, certainly was not worth what we paid or what I expected from the information provided by LateRooms. The whole hotel was in need of modernisation, but on an up note the staff were friendly and helpful.

"Stuck in the 70s"
shanti00, 02 Août 2016

Hotel is located next to railway station and approx. a 10 min walk into the town centre. Hotel is stuck in the 70s and is in dire need of some TLC. Hotel staff need some training in welcoming visitors and being helpful. The guy on reception looked bored and was not at all welcoming. Room was basic. Shampoo and soap was in a one bottle does all. Had to call reception as shower would not turn off. Person that came to see the shower said that they had had this before and customer had left it running. Why hadn't it been fixed if they had fault before. Bathroom was an avocado green, yak. Saving grace was bedding and towels were very clean so I figured for one nights stay it would be ok. Hotel could be a little gem.

"Great Value"
Annielou11, 20 Juillet 2016

Stayed night on business. Staff very friendly and helpful on reception. My room was above average size and spotlessly clean. I chose to eat in the bar as it was quiet. the food was delicious. I chose salmon which had a really tasty sauce and was fairly light leaving room for the creme brulee with home made shortbread, melt in your mouth! The wifi in the room would not connect which was a bit annoying as this meant I needed to work in the reception area as I had reports to complete. The staff did try re booting etc but for some reason would not work. Breakfast was cooked to order and pleased to say was a traditional Scottish affair. Unfortunately I did not have time to sample the leisure facilities but would definitely stay here again if I am in the area. Parking was not obvious on arrival you have to make a very sharp turn into the car park before you reach the hotel.

"Average"
WelshClockwork, 13 Juillet 2016

Traditional family hotel which is a bit tired and could do with refurbishment. Rooms are fairly small but all in all it's quite comfortable with a nice small pool. Overall, it's not a bad hotel, just be prepared to walk into 1970.

"Out dated"
Paul L, 13 Juillet 2016

I stay in a lot of hotels and this has to be second worst on my list the rooms are very outdated and myself and my family had to sit half naked because the room was so hot and uncomfortable when the temperature outside was cool I'm still trying to work that one out. Apart from that the staff was very friendly and helpful a lot more helpful than the WiFi that take a half hour to get logged in and when you do get logged in it automatically logs you out after less than 5 minutes even to write this I'm having to use 3g. So would I recommend this hotel erm nope. One thing I can say is its in a good location

"Excellent Value for money"
Karen P, 13 Juillet 2016

We had a fantastic nights stay, enjoyed the swimming pool and Jacuzzi all afternoon prior to getting into our room, which was ready early for us, was clean and offered more than enough to expect or require in any hotel room. The staff were all fantastic, cleaners, bar, waiting and reception, all more than willing to offer assistance and a friendly face. Our meal in the restaurant in the evening was lovely and breakfast excellent. We shall continue to return to this hotel as facilities, getting full use of pool, gym etc inclusive in costs, just makes one night away seem so worthwhile and a real break from the rat race. Many thanks for a wonderful, welcoming stay.

"Our weekend mid week break"
harveyGreenock, 13 Juillet 2016

My friend and i spent two nights at the Queens hotel in perth on the 11th july 2016 could not fault it, quickly checked in by a chatty member of staff who advised us of times for breakfast, and facilaties available, keys given for room 309 room very clean and had everything we need athough a little dated this was of no concern to us, unpacked and freshen up headed into perth town stopped off at the robert burns pub we were made to feel very welcome but the barman,Dav who asked us to come back later that night as there was fun bingo free buffet and prizes my friend and i left and wandered around perth returned later and enjoyed fun bingo with the locals and free buffet went down a treat a great wee night, lovely people and great company, the breakfast the following morning was plentyful and freshly cooked served on nice hot plates, staff again were very nice, after breakfast we went to the pool total relaxation in great surroundings,i would highly recommend this hotel for location friendly staff great food and wonderfull pool

"Good location"
Linda K, 13 Juillet 2016

The hotel is perfectly located, within walking distance of the town. The staff were exceptionally helpful andd pleasant. The hotel itself is old so expect creaking floors and doors. The room was well upgraded and pleasant. Although the bathroom had been upgraded there is still room for improvement, on a positive, lovely big soft towels.

"Typical Best Western"
rpt1968, 11 Juillet 2016

firstly brilliant location literally between the train station and bus station and a stones through from city centre. Downstairs neat with handy bar and decent dining area. Rooms classic BW incredibly noisy floors I guess due to the hotel age and generally quite a noisy hotel. Bad for me working nights! Spacious room with bath and good shower however baths surface rough in places. My toilet did not flush properly also. Breakfast was fine good selection of food. This hotel was a gym which the equipment is a bit rickety and some out of use but hey it's in with price. Also has a very nice small swimming pool, spa bath, steam room and sauna all excellent. So like this hotel chain to have highs and lows with performance again relying on old world charm to paper over a few cracks. Verdict - acceptable for a shorter stay......

"Desperately needs refurbished!"
Eatthebreed79, 05 Juillet 2016

We were 4 couples staying as we were attending a wedding nearby. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the hotel is well located with parking. However, the rooms are very dated and run down. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall and the bathroom looked at least 20 years old. I have stayed in better hostels at a fraction of the price.

"2 nights break"
george c, 03 Juillet 2016

hotel location convenient room and food very good staff pleasant and efficient but not enough of them leisure facilities excellent Perth was a beautiful place perhaps more comfortable seating in the lounge ?

"Dated"
James H, 01 Juillet 2016

This hotel had excellent service on the front desk. However the rooms were so dated and the breakfast was not good. The breakfast staff were also quite rude. The bathrooms were an awful colour and no air conditioning was quite an issue. I wouldn't stay again

"Needs Updating"
Tracey A, 27 Juin 2016

Enjoyed our stay and room was comfortable - decor in need of updating. Avocado bathroom suite has had it's day! Room was very warm and there was no heating on but not the end of the world - you're up high enough to leave the windows open all night.

"A night in Perth"
Gordon F, 27 Juin 2016

We stayed at the Queens hotel in Perth as a stopover before picking up a tour. Average hotel with location next to train and bus station a 5 minute walk. Breakfast and bar meals were of a good standard. Ask for a quiet room away from lifts and stairs.Staff were very good and helpful

"Average"
Jean J, 26 Juin 2016

Location was good ..rooms small but adequate and clean ..old hotel but ok in general. Breakfast was fine except there was no fresh fruit like apples etc that you often get in other hotels we have been in .. staff were ok

"Seniors cycle"
Jim H, 23 Juin 2016

We had been cycling from John O Groats for the previous 2.5 days, for the last 45 minutes cycling into Perth it rained, when we arrived at the hotel, we were soaking wet and the staff were extremely helpful to get into our rooms and get a hot shower, and they gave us a secured space to keep our bikes overnight, once we had dried out we had bar food and it was delicious and well worth the cost.

"Badly needs renovating"
Anondee2016, 23 Juin 2016

Location good, near station and restaurants and near town. Generally the staff were courteous but when checking in the Receptionist spoke so fast. I didn't rate the breakfast at all. Stayed in the Kings Manor (best western hotel) previous to this and the breakfast was better and hotel was in much better condition. The room we stayed in was awful. The bathroom was the old avocado coloured suit....so, so dated. The shower didn't work properly so I couldn't wash my hair, had trouble trying to turn it off, dripped for ages. Shower curtain had a couple of stains. Sink has no mixer tap so either boiling hot or freezing cold. No blind for the window in the bathroom that faced the car park. It's a distorted glass but people would still be able to see someone in the shower from the outside, not private enough. You can see that a blind used to be there but now the shower rail is connected to the wall just above the window leaving no space for the blind. The noise after flushing the toilet was ridiculous and there was a lot of noise near the lift. No safe in the room. Bed linen looked clean so that was a bonus. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Their other hotel in Edinburgh (Kings Manor) was much better for a 3 star.

"Long weekend leisure break"
James M, 22 Juin 2016

We travelled by bus to Perth and were relieved to find we didn't have to carry bags for any distance as the hotel is situated beside the bus station and nearby is the railway station. We were met by a friendly receptionist and were able to get into our room a bit earlier as we had arrived before 4.00pm. The room was on the 4th floor very spacious clean and ironing board and iron a bonus. The beds comfortable and we appreciate having 2 pillows. Breakfast was very good plenty of Choice and nice to get table service. We made full use of the leisure facilities which was great very clean and relaxing friendly and pleasant staff thoroughly enjoyed it. The town centre and riverside walks are a 10 minute walk from the hotel or you could hop on a bus to the centre. We spent a day at scone palace highly recommend. We had a problem on our last night when we couldn't get back into our room due to a faulty lock and had to wait for someone to come out to gain access. However the staff were extremely helpful offering us another room to wait in if we wanted we chose to sit in the bar area and were served cups of coffee and kept updated on the situation excellent customer service. We stayed in another room for the night which was just as comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

"Good location"
fergie26, 21 Juin 2016

We booked 2 nights bed & breakfast in the Queens hotel and weren't too disappointed. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and although the rooms and the hotel in general look quite dated , everything is clean and tidy. Breakfast was good if fairly limited and the bar was ok. The swimming pool and gym were very good and again kept very clean. We found the hotel easy to locate as the directions were easy to follow and its only 5-10 minute walk to the shops etc.

"Special Offer"
David G, 19 Juin 2016

As we were visiting Perth on Saturday we took advantage of the hotel's "Special Offer" of a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast deal. The hotel is centrally situated with a 5 minute walk to the city centre offering a full range of shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is clean with very friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Dinner in Scott's restaurant and breakfast in the breakfast room were both very good. We would certainly stay here again when visiting Perth. The hotel offers leisure facilities which we did not use.

"Good breakfast and service "
JonnyC000, 14 Juin 2016

Room a little cold but I guess you can't expect the heating to be on in June.. Decent nights sleep and good breakfast. Three and a half stars as the decor isn't too inspiring but the staff were friendly and helpful

"One night business stay"
Richard L, 09 Juin 2016

A clean and comfortable room, in a pleasant hotel conveniently close to my business venue. A warm welcome with pleasant and helpful staff. Minor complaints but overall a hotel that I would re-visit if necessary.

"Badly needs refurbished"
CherryBlossomTree, 09 Juin 2016

I had a 2 day conference here. Having viewed the hotel website and read the reviews on here, I elected not to stay overnight at this hotel. The hotel was very dated and worn and it was not a pleasant environment to be in. The lunch provided was adequate but not great quality. I would not pay to eat here. Having said that, the public areas that I visited were very clean and the staff were pleasant and friendly. They were very helpful and I got the impression that nothing was too much trouble. They also seemed hard working and efficient. The hotel is very close to the train station and there is a free car park which are definite plus points. It is a bit of a shame that nothing has been done to upgrade and modernise this hotel.

"Weekend away"
Janfor7, 07 Juin 2016

All staff were polite, courteous and helpful. Our room was spotless and had a double aspect so was bright too. Food was delicious. Leisure facilities great too. Not far to walk into city centre therefore once at the hotel you don't need to drive around. Lots of places to go and lovely shops too.

"It is what it is."
shearwater58, 01 Juin 2016

Yes this hotel has seen better days but it is warm, dry and very clean. I think we paid £50 for a twin room and that was fine. Bed was comfortable and it was nice to have two pillows. No air conditioning but the window was open - and I much prefer fresh air. There was an event going on in the hotel so it was quite noisy until about midnight but after that was quiet. Walls are very thin -it was quite disconcerting to be in the shower and be able to hear the guy next door cleaning his teeth and gargling. Staff were helpful and friendly. Carpark was full (because of the event?) and there is limited local street parking but is very close to both bus and train stations. It wasn't the best hotel we've ever stayed in but it probably was one of the cleanest! Don't pay a fortune but ok if you can get a deal.

"Tonbridge U3A visit to Perth"
Geoff S, 27 Mai 2016

We arrived as a group of 43 at the Hotel and to the pleasure of everyone in the Group found a place to rest our heads where the Staff and Management were a delight the food good and plentiful (but more vegetables please) and the rooms comfortable. To be met by happy smiling and willing staff at every meal was a great pleasure for everyone and Happy Birthday again Sean!

"Tired and dated"
Carol G, 25 Mai 2016

Stayed here for 2 nights the décor is extremely dated and shabby throughout the hotel bed and pillows very hard and uncomfortable so had very little sleep during my stay, the only thing going is it has a pool and sauna.

"Good Hotel"
Margaret G, 23 Mai 2016

Spent an overnight stay b& b with friends for a wee break away and was very happy with this Hotels location to the centre which has many lovely eateries in the old part of the town where you can sit outside weather permitting. We had a room on the 2nd floor of the Queens Hotel overlooking the main road at one side and to the car park at the other window. Was very pleased with the room we were given which was very spacious with two lovely club chairs with a table at the window overlooking the car park, which incidentally you could open fully which was lovely as we had a beautiful day when we were there. Lovely comfy big bed, nice bathroom, hairdryer etc, no complaints. Staff on Reception at check in were lovely, Polish girl (I think) was particularly nice and friendly and was also on the breakfast staffing, very polite and efficient. Made use of the pool, steam room and sauna which was very good all round except the jacuzzi was being cleaned at 10.30am on a Saturday morning! might think about changing that, those who are in charge! The only gripe I would have is that the breakfast wasn't the best, the mixed strawberries/raspberries/blueberries that I had for starters were of the frozen variety, and still frozen when I tried to eat them and they did not taste good at all. The fruit juice was poor tasting and the fried breakfast, well the egg was considerably undercooked, the sausage was not good but the rest was ok and plenty of toast/jam. Overall, nice Hotel, good location and for £70 for the two of us, was I think not bad. Would I come back to this Hotel again? Yes, could make some improvements here and there but overall not bad.

"Not for me "
Marie C, 21 Mai 2016

If I had paid for this myself I would have been let down. The room was adequate nothing special, my one complaint was the the walls are very thin and you can hear what's going on in the rooms side by side. The TV in the next room kept me awake Until around 3am I could hear the person snoring in the other. Left for a long work day feeling unrested and grumpy??

"Fading glory for a hotel"
D. C, 20 Mai 2016

We booked this hotel as part of a road trip through the UK. We found that the car park across the street from the hotel was close but a bit difficult to identify. The location directly adjacent to the bus terminal makes it a great choice for those using mass transit. We found the hotel having very nice staff but very dated with poor lighting and worn carpeting. The room was clean but the beds marginally comfortable. The bath was old and although clean we were unable to turn off the water in the tub and had to have a staff member come up and work with the spigot. It appeared to us that this was not the first time this had happened to her. The bright spot in the visit was when we went to the dining room for dinner. I really was not expecting much but was thrilled to find a really good meal served very nicely. The price of the hotel was good but the interiors show it.

"Great stay again"
209tommy, 20 Mai 2016

Had a great stay for 2nights using the spring offer, asked for corner room and got this ok room really nice,4 times we have stayed and just gets better, pool and sauna a bonus, reception staff always helpful

"Bit dated but food and service good"
MrsClaireL, 19 Mai 2016

Stayed here with work, breakfast was great adhered to my dietary requirements. Rooms were dated but clean no complaints. Used the gym very crammed and could do with a clean. Does the job lots of cardio equipment. I wouldn't pay to be a member there. All the staff were nice friendly and helpful.

"Very Clean"
Claire J, 19 Mai 2016

Stayed at the hotel for 1 night on business trip. The room allocated was absolutely spotless, actually one of the best cleaned rooms I've ever stayed in, bathroom immaculate, good quality towels, bed comfortable and spotless too. I was very impressed. Staff were lovely. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.

"Clean and nice staff"
Sue B, 17 Mai 2016

I stayed at this hotel for a work event. Two nights in a single room, which was very clean but dated. The staff were so very nice and helpful. The breakfast was also really good. You can have continental or cooked food. Was a very pleasant stay. Hotel does need some refurbishment. Something that was a bit of a peeve, but not the hotels fault is the bus terminus being next door, so from early am until late evening there is a steady stream of bus traffic.

"Pleasantly Surprised!!"
oggie1967, 09 Mai 2016

My friends & I stayed here for one night whilst on a biking weekend & to be honest for the price we paid I wasn't expecting a lot. Sure it's a little dated but I found the hotel to be a very pleasant & cosy place to be. The staff were all pleasant & helpful & the rooms were all spotlessly clean. A welcome bonus was the pool & spa within the hotel which we all really enjoyed! There was quite a good selection at breakfast with cooked items done to order! (The scrambled eggs were some of the best I've ever had!) I can recommend this one!??

"Not great..."
Sean S, 08 Mai 2016

The hotel is exceptionally dated and in dire need of modernisation. The room I was allocated was more like a prison cell than somewhere to relax for an evening with the bathroom whilst probably being clean, looked dirty due to the age. The food was average and unsatisfying. Also, the wifi coverage was poor as in my room it was out of range...

"Beautiful Exterior, shameful staff member and dated room"
lcljc3, 04 Mai 2016

We stayed on 28/04. The hotel is very pretty externally but our small double bedroom was incredibly dated, had a small double bed and with curtains not fit for purpose .over and above this the floorboards outside our room were loose with the resultant squeaky noise from footfall traffic. Additionally, If you are reluctant to be verbally abused by any member of staff which abuse isn't denied by the staff member and where owner's view is that verbal abuse is explained by a busy role, then stay clear. Perth is a beautiful town.

"Overnight stay Queens Hotel Perth Scotland"
1945scot, 03 Mai 2016

Hotel is dated with adequate rooms and services within rooms. Shower was excellent and bathroom looked updated. Noisy radiator even when isolated from water feed and return. Breakfast was excellent and service superb. Reception helpful in arranging taxis and onward travel. City centre car park attached to hotel gets full very quickly so get there by check in.

"Great friendly staff."
h_leith, 02 Mai 2016

The hotel was a bit tired looking but was very clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Was very busy - I think they had a group conference on when we were there. Pool and spa area again a bit dated but nice enough and seemed to be well used.

"huge room"
April H, 30 Avril 2016

My husband and I had an overnight stay here room was huge with everything you need in it all toiletries, bath robes, slippers iron and ironing board will definitely be back. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful.

"Meal at restaurant using a voucher with no small print that it cannot be used again"
sritchie52, 25 Avril 2016

We recently received on attending a boxing dinner night at the Queens hotel a £50 food voucher for the Scott's restaurant to be used b4 June 2016. However attending recently with my elderly mother, I was not informed by the receptionist or the restaurant staff that the voucher had to be fully used up on our first attendance. We only used half of the voucher and was then informed that the remainder of approx£25 was null in void, thus making a complaint I was informed I would receive a phone call the following morning with the outcome decision. I received a call where the caller informed me she had spoken with her accounts department and this was the correct procedure. I feel this is unfair decision and it should have been stated at the time of attending the restaurant that the voucher would require to be fully used at the time of our meal. I am writing this to ensure others who receive voucher no the procedure before attending for a meal.

"Good weekend in lovely Perth"
FionaMacd, 25 Avril 2016

A fairly last minute decision to visit Perth saw us book at the Best Western Queen's Hotel and that proved an excellent choice. Our room was comfortable and the location of the hotel perfect - a short walk away from the city centre with its good variety of shops. The only tiny downside was that we were very near the lift and could hear the comings and goings. We would definitely go back to the Queen's as there is so much to see and do in Perth..

"Brilliant hotel with excellent staff"
margaret a, 25 Avril 2016

We use this hotel quite often for a weekend break and it has never let us down yet. The staff are so friendly and efficient and the rooms very clean, comfy and welcoming. The leisure pool is great and very efficiently ran. Can't wait to go back again in June.

"in city centre"
james B, 24 Avril 2016

Nice room ,food good.staff exellent a credit to hotel.right next to bus stop.perth is nice for a long weekend.evening meal at hotel was nice.breakfast great served at table.compliments to chef .will be back.....

"Central location"
AlistairBurrow, 23 Avril 2016

This hotel is centrally located just opposite the railway station and within walking distance of Perth City Centre. I thought it was excellent value for money. The parking is free and close to the hotel, and it has a leisure centre. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I had no complaints about my room on the fourth floor (there is a lift), which was clean and comfortable. The decor is perhaps a little dated and traditional, but I would not agree with the reviewer who described them as "ghastly". I had a very pleasant meal one evening - the salmon was off and I had scampi and chips. Breakfast was buffet style but cooked to order, and well done. Did not spend any time in the bar, but sampled the gym and pool. The spa pool was out of order and the changing facilities are a little compact but serviceable. Would definitely stay again if required to overnight in Perth.

"Family reunion"
robert9453, 19 Avril 2016

The staff were excellent as was the food. The hotel is getting a little tired. It showed up most in the bathroom. A heavy handed technique to flush the toilet and had to put on hot tap to get a shower temperature cool enough.

"Best western get a grip"
ishyurqit2016, 18 Avril 2016

Rooms are ghastly! Reception staff very nice the pool staff totally rude. Breakfast was bare able..never again !!! Time the place was taken in to the right century. Dark furniture threadbare carpets...creaky floors..toilets with wooden seats ..really???

"Comfortable hotel in an excellent location"
matthewluck, 18 Avril 2016

The location of the hotel is great, within 100 metres of the railway station and around a five minute walk to the city centre. The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming during both check in and check out. My room was a single room and it was very clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and I had a restful night's sleep. It was disappointing that the water from the shower was cold. The room had a decent sized TV. Wi-Fi was good throughout. There was a well stocked refreshments tray, with tea, coffee and Scottish shortbread. Had an nice meal, scampi and chips, and a good pint in Scott's bar. Would definitely recommend the cider cooked onion rings, very tasty. I did feel that the bar was lacking any kind of atmosphere, no music and BBC News (muted) on TV. I used the leisure facilities, the pool was great with the water at a nice temperature. There was also a steam room and sauna, unfortunately the spa pool was out of order. Overall, an enjoyable stay and I would definitely return to this hotel. Excellent value for money.

"Great Location , Nice Hotel"
Whatsappenin, 12 Avril 2016

Located about 100 Mtrs from railway station , cross railway station car park to the left and you can see hotel across road on right. Perfect location for city centre 5 minute walk. Plenty bars and restaurants within a couple of minute walk . Hotel itself was very good for the money £65 for double room with breakfast , excellent value . Room decent size , kettle, tea ,coffee etc . Iron and ironing board , hairdryer .Wifi in room was decent as well . Pool area looked lovely although we didn't use it . Breakfast in morning was great plenty choice . Staff very nice especially the young guy on the check in desk . Would return .

"Excellent value"
Nichola C, 12 Avril 2016

I stayed here with several colleagues as working in the area. The staff were fantastic and in particular the night Porter James. Rooms very clean with good facilities. A word of advice though ask for a room away from the lift area as it is very noisy

"Dinner Dance"
ianlaura1, 10 Avril 2016

The bedroom was great we were on the 5th floor room was bright think we had 5 Windows the bed was very comfortable had a good nights sleep Tea coffee and shortbread facilities in room Hotel is very central only minutes too the shops

"Scottish Ghost Night"
missmeGlasgow, 10 Avril 2016

We booked a twin room, as this Hotel was near to the area we were visiting. The Reception Team on arrival were very nice and inviting. We requested a late checkout at 12pm, this was not a problem at all. We stayed in room 416 front facing. The room was of your average Hotel room with two single beds with ensuite bath/shower. The room was clean with tea and coffee with shortbread. As we did not return to the hotel until the early hours of the morning, we skipped breakfast. The Hotel also had a lovely swimming pool .

"booked for our 51st wedding anniversary weekend"
oversixtiesScotland, 05 Avril 2016

booked a executive super king double. very dissapointed. we would hate to see what the basic room is like. this was a treat given to us by our family for a leisure/anniversary weekend. leisure centre is ok. breakfast is ok but was cold on monday and sent it back. but was replaced.didn't eat in hotel for lunch or dinner as we feel we had been ripped off enough. if you book room only and want breakfast go to cafe at bus station 50yards from hotel its cooked while you wait.also try hong kong chinese resturant 500yds from hotel for evening meal. we ate there for 3 nights. next time we are in perth we will stay travel inn or travel lodge. put queens at bottom of list

"Easter Weekend"
Eileen M, 30 Mars 2016

Staff were all very helpful and friendly and the hotel was clean. Our room however was very dated and in need of decoration. Bathroom was nice but water pressure wasn't good and never hot enough. Sound proofing was bad as we could hear conversations next door and people going to the loo during the night. Breakfast on the Sunday wasn't great but much better on the Monday. We have stayed in Best Western Hotels before but this is one we will not be returning to.

"Easter in Perth"
Stuart P, 30 Mars 2016

Spent Friday and Saturday night in the Queens hotel at Easter and enjoyed the experience. We had up graded to a superior room which was very spacious. Very clean and the facilities were very good. Nice touch was the home made short bread in the room. The shower was very good and plenty of hot water. breakfast in the morning was good, freshly made and we got what we ordered. Waiting staff very friendly, helpful and we were served promptly. In fact all the staff were very friendly and helpful which added to our pleasant experience. The leisure facilities enhance our stay and were very clean. It was nice to relax in the spa. Overall we had an enjoyable relaxing stay.

"Just what we needed.."
Katy W, 30 Mars 2016

My husband and I stayed here for Valentine's Day last year on a staff discount (I used to work in a Best Western hotel). I have always loved hotels but ever since I have worked in customer service I pay extra attention to it. The staff were really friendly; one in particular who was serving in the restaurant that evening. Food was lovely, if slightly pricey. The location was fantastic; right by the train station, and the biggest pull was the fact it had a swimming pool which was lovely! The staff went the extra mile and I definitely enjoyed my romantic holiday away. Will hopefully be back :)

"Nice Facilities. Lovely Staff"
AndyOBull, 29 Mars 2016

We stayed for 2 nights over Easter for a wedding. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a good breakfast. Use of the leisure spa was a bonus too - towels and lockers are provided. A very pleasant stay.

"Weekend away"
Lauraxlb, 28 Mars 2016

Went to this hotel and walked in the reception was nice, went to the room it was nice to stay for a night but the toilet paper in the bathroom was behind you so it was a nightmare, the shower was terrible, hardly anything coming out it! Went for dinner which was nice! In the morning for breakfast was a joke I mean the cooked breakfast was awful wasn't that warm and only one of everything! But apart from that staff was lovely!

"Weekend away"
Jaye T, 27 Mars 2016

Just home from a great 2 night stay at Queens Hotel. Reading previous reviews I agree bathrooms need updating but would rather have a bathroom that is clean but needs updating like this hotel than a dirty modern bathroom. Staff are amazing throughout the Hotel and can't do enough for you. James in the Restaurant looked after everyone and was most helpful regarding the new menu. We will definitely be returning to this hotel.

"Sub Standard Best Western Hotel"
Liza959, 26 Mars 2016

Do not book a standard twin bedded room. Small, and dark, bathroom badly needs upgraded, shower dreadful. Breakfast okay. The hotel does have very pleasant and helpful staff. We do book Best Western Hotels when on a break, but unfortunately this one does not meet the usual standard.

"The staff make this hotel stand out"
Douglas552, 26 Mars 2016

This is a perfectly acceptable hotel to stay in whether for business or leisure and is close to both the railway station and town centre. While the hotel could never be called luxurious, it was clean with good facilities. Breakfast was fresh with prompt service but the real stand out was the friendliness of the staff who couldn't do enough to please.

"Business stayover"
JOHN H, 23 Mars 2016

Adequate parking next to the hotel. Staff were all very polite and attentive during my stay. Room whilst not the most modern was clean, warm and comfortable which is the main thing for myself. The food in the restaurant was good and the breakfast was excellent quality. Would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel for potential visitors to the Perth area.

"Perth weekend"
alexcoll, 15 Mars 2016

We visited the above hotel last weekend, first thing I need to say is the staff were a total credit to the hotel, especially the receptionist who couldn't do enough. The hotel itself was clean and tidy, only issues were rooms were very small and you could hear everything due to the thin wall's. The other thing required is a new decorating job as the hotel looks very tired. Overall it's pleasant place due mainly to the staff.

"Has a lot more potential"
Iris-eyes, 14 Mars 2016

Stayed for one night, Parking was very limited and finally got a space after about 10 minutes. Arrived at reception and nobody there, but they came eventually even though he still did not put down his mobile so the lady took over. First impression through the floor, the room was a good size and clean. Dinner breadcrumb fried Brie which was still solid in the middle, but I was hungry, pasta with mushroom and ham was very tasty. Used the gym and pool, perfect to relax in and good level of cleanliness here. Breakfast was buffet European and cooked English which delivered promptly. The bar was busy and a good atmosphere. Would I stay again yes, butnot room 414 as I could here water running constantly not raining

"Friendly Staff"
Brian L, 10 Mars 2016

I have visited here the last three years and never had cause for complaint. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food is good and the facilities good. What makes the stay special however is the friendly staff from reception to the bar and especially Kat and the team in the restaurant. If you travelling on business or looking for a Base in Perthshire for a holiday this is the place.

"Very helpful"
Gordon2329, 10 Mars 2016

This hotel part of the best western group is very friendly , the staff are excellent I visit often and the food is always good . The cost for dinner bread and break fast is very good value There I is parking next to the hotel which is easy to locate Ideal hotel for the business traveller

"overnight stay at excellent hotel"
John M, 08 Mars 2016

Friendly staff, clean room, good food in restaurant. What more could one want. We were made very welcome by the reception staff. The superior room was spacious and very clean as was the bathroom. Good powerful hot shower in the morning. Ample free parking next door to the hotel.

"Very tired, old hotel"
malts4, 07 Mars 2016

On arrival was asked to wait at reception as receptionist took coffee orders for guest who had already checked in. Once checked in I went to my room in which the décor was very tired to say the least. Also no towels in room. In my opinion I would have been better staying in a Travelodge or premier inn - at least you know what to expect.

"Chill out break"
Shonah C, 03 Mars 2016

Although the décor is a bit tired my friend and I found it good value for money. Staff were helpful and friendly especially Rebecca in the dining room. The food was good and plentiful and we enjoyed using the leisure facilities. It's within walking distance of all the shops, theatre and cinema.

"Nice old hotel with excellent staff and facilities."
Lee A, 29 Février 2016

Stayed at this hotel last weekend for a conference held there. Really good hotel, very clean and tidy with excellent, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was spotless. Our conference went well too so thanks for catering for us. Super hotel.

"GOOD HOTEL WITH GREAT POOL,SAUNA,AND GYM."
Mary M, 27 Février 2016

Took my Grandaughter for an overnight stay for her 10th Birthday. The entertainer sang happy birthday to her and a waitress brought her a cake.We all enjoyed a lovely room and breakfast and had the lovely warm swimming pool to ourselves in the morning.Thank to the wonderful staff for making my Grandaughter feel very special. Will definatly be returning to this welcoming hotel.

"Good hotel with good facilities"
sebmrp, 25 Février 2016

Nice hotel with a good gym and pool. The hotel is a 2min walk from the Train Station. Whilst the bedrooms are nice, the restaurant seemed dated and cold, especially in the morning, Like all of the Best Western Hotels that I have stayed in the staff are very friendly and happy to help with any enquires you have. This is my second visit to this hotel.

"Perth races"
eugene51, 22 Février 2016

The queens is located very handily near the railway station although we flew and hired a car from Edinburgh and free car park was available Hotel was well equipped and comfortable staff were friendly and very helpful The only criticism is the dining room upstairs not a problem for us but could be for others

"Very poor service"
Bruce1964, 21 Février 2016

While in Perth at another event I popped in to the Queens hotel for a drink with friends and I am sad to say I have never had such bad service in a bar anywhere in the world. At approximately 9.30pm one member of staff totally ignored customers while she struggled to add up the days takings , why this was being done so early in the night I don't know. Eventually another staff member started serving customers but omg slow so slow it's was ridiculous. 1 drink was enough and we won't be back .

"interesting stay"
Harry B, 21 Février 2016

staff are friendly & helpful, room 501 could do with floorboards being attended to,its like an old pirate ship but it gives " character i suppose " we enjoy the spa & pool, overall will be back. good value.

"Valentine's Visit"
Rover1966, 21 Février 2016

One night stay on a dbb rate excellent dinner from Valentines menu and breakfast Room very large and clean pleasant stay will use again. Hotel is central Perth across from railway station and few minutes walk from city centre. Swimming pool and sauna / spa very good

"Pleasant stay"
Erzil, 16 Février 2016

A pleasant night in this Perth Hotel. Not too far from the centre but round the corner from a huge open space. Hotel was comfortable enough, room was clean and decent size. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was ok. The price for one night B&B was great. I'd use this place again.

"Valentines Delight"
diva62, 16 Février 2016

We have just returned from another stay at this lovely hotel and we had a fabulous time . There is only one word to describe the Valentines Dinner we experienced-magnificent . I would like to commend Kamil [ Polish chef ] and Blue [ Italian chef ] for their truly outstanding talents and for giving us a meal we will never forget , served to us by Kat and Rebecca , who are both charming and professional restaurant staff . I would also like to commend Nikki and Danielle at reception who are also lovely and most helpful . Paul , the maintenance man , is a star and Slaw , the kitchen porter is very pleasant . I can honestly say this was our best visit yet and the rooms were lovely as usual , with tea/coffee making facilities and top drawer toiletries in situ . My husband and young son were regular visitors to the swimming pool and I would highly recommend a visit to this jewel of a hotel , especially good for families . A huge thank you to all the staff of a first class establishment .

"One night of cosy comfort"
MARIA B, 15 Février 2016

My husband and I spent one night dbb on Valentine's day. Dinner was excellent and fantastic value with friendly and attentive service from the two waiting staff. Our bedroom was cosy and spotless, a lot of the hotel has had an upgrade and is looking very smart. We did not have time to make use of the leisure facilities, that will be for our next visit, and we will surely be back. Breakfast was enjoyable and freshly cooked.

"Girls weekend"
Claire M, 10 Février 2016

we had a very enjoyable stay at the Queens Hotel It is well positioned for the bus and train station and about a 10 minute walk into the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful and all the facilities were as we expected. If we visit perth again we will return

"A bit disappointed "
Ryan S, 09 Février 2016

Having stayed in other best western hotels we thought this would be the ideal choice for our stay in Perth. Hotel looks good on the outside and has a handy carpark across the road . The reception staff were nice . Room was ok needs a paint bath and shower tired looking . Beds mattress was rock hard expect a sore back in the morning. Breakfast the next morning was a big big let down to the point we waited 50 minutes on our breakfast to appear . When we asked the very young waiter who muttered something walked off and never returned I finally got someone to give me a excuse of the kitchen ran out of food . Now surely a hotel of this size should have enough stock to support its guests . People were becoming impatient and the staff all seemed to go into hiding. There was no staff members or manager coming and giving an explanation of how we were all sat for 50 mins without food which we had paid for . When the breakfast finally arrived our toast was rock hard we asked for more which never arrived . The portions were child sized and would not feed a hamster . On checking we told our complaint to the reception who said ok we will take a note and someone will call you . Still waiting on the phone call . Will not be using best western again

"Short weekend break"
Seeeetle, 09 Février 2016

Although the hotel looks a little tired, the rooms were clean and the breakfast delicious. The main reception and dining room staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel is well situated, just 5 minutes walk from the centre. The leisure centre is well equipped. The room was lovely and warm. My only negative comment would be the guy on the leisure centre reception desk who was quite unfriendly and not very helpful considering I hadn't used the facilities previously. He needs some PR training and perhaps a spell in charm school!

"Nice hotel but dated"
Jan T, 09 Février 2016

We stayed for 2 nights as we had a function to go to in Perth. We had an executive room which was a good size with a large comfortable bed. The decor in the hotel was very dated and in need of considerable reburbishment. Our room had chipped paint and scuffed walls, there was a mark on the carpet that looked as though it had been there a while. The bathroom had been retiled at some stage by putting the new tiles over the old ones which made them overlap the skirting board. The hotel was very busy on the Saturday night and the demand on the water made having a shower rather precarious as the flow came and went making the water temperature fluctuate hugely. The television was placed on the wall at a very odd angle which meant you could only really watch it properly from one place in the room. All that having been said the staff were great, warm and welcoming and eager to please. There was enough of a choice for breakfast and the cooked breakfast was very good. We ate in on the second evening and although there was not a large choice on the menu we had no problems in making a choice and enjoyed what we had. We did not have time to use the leisure club so cannot comment on that.

"Good hotel for weekend break"
jonboyK7085VR, 07 Février 2016

Just had a two night stay here, quick check in , very pleasant and helpful staff, breakfast very nice with a very good choice, pool, sauna, and steam room well worth a visit. Rooms warm, clean and quiet, wi-fi hit or miss in room but not much of an issue, will not have a problem staying again as the entertainment in Perth is good, good range of pubs with live bands and a very good indian restaurant ( Tabla)

"Ok for a place to sleep but not for a holiday"
Arnold M, 04 Février 2016

Stopped here as I needed somewhere quiet to make a call and wasn't going to make it home in time. Faint smell of urine in the bathroom. Couldn't figure out the shower, I think it was broken, so ended up with a bath. Friendly staff both at front desk and in breakfast area. Breakfast unimaginative with no greens and no organic anything. Good location next to the train station. Morrisons is a 15 minute walk. Wifi works well. Fairly priced for the UK, with a comfortable bed.

"Good value for money"
WearetheSeatons, 30 Janvier 2016

Stayed here one night with family. Warm welcome when we arrived at reception, staff were kind enough to give us an early check in which was much appreciated. We set up for afternoon tea in a little nook just off reception, got a wonderful selection of sandwiches plus scones with jam and cream and some cake. The server was happy to provide exta scones at no additional cost. Dinner was lovely, we ate in the bar so it was basic bar food but cooked fresh and generous portions. The spa area was great, nice ambiance very quiet and fully functional pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room plus a gym (which we didn't use) The rooms were basic but clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast had a continental buffet plus made to order cooked breakfast served to your table which was a nice touch. We had a great stay and the cost was very reasonable. Would visit again.

"Great staff, shame about the beds!"
mizliz_uk, 29 Janvier 2016

I had stayed at this hotel before for business, and always found it to be a pleasant place to be, mainly because of the lovely, friendly staff; so when we were looking for a place to go for our bi-monthly spa break, I thought this would be a good option. Some of the previous reviewers are correct, the hotel is in need of some TLC; however as far as I'm concerned, service, quality of food and staff attitude are far more important than a lick of paint. The leisure area was lovely, well maintained and although small, contained everything we needed (except a machine for spin drying the swimsuits, which would have been very welcome). The pool is lovely, clean and although there were a couple of 'serious swimmers' in, there was still plenty of room for those of us who just wanted to enjoy a leisurely dip. The jacuzzi had been broken right up to a couple of days before we arrived but we did know about it because we had been following the progress on Facebook and thankfully it was fixed before we got there. The sauna door was still broken but that didn't spoil our visit. The gentleman who works at the leisure area, although not a smiley character, was nevertheless very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We decided to have afternoon tea instead of lunch and, after an initial confusion where they tried to serve us 'high tea' instead, the afternoon tea was pleasant; strangely enough there were three of us but only two scones and two cakes served. Rather than fight over them we asked for another one of each, which they provided at no extra charge. We had dinner in the bar rather than the restaurant, and the food was lovely; not a huge selection but if you wanted more choice you could eat at the restaurant upstairs, which had an extensive menu. We were happy with our bar food, the quality was good and although it took a wee while to come out, it was worth the wait. The rooms were pretty basic but I had requested a shower rather than a bath and I was provided with that. Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable; none of the three of us got a good sleep, and we all had aching backs next morning; a pity because I would suggest that was the only major fault with this hotel. Breakfast was cooked fresh and served to our table, can't complain about that, it was delicious. The location of the hotel is ideal; next door to the bus station and across the road from the train station, just a short walk into the city centre. Also plenty of parking is available for guests, so an easy location to get to no matter how you travel. Check in time is late, 4pm, but we were advised that if the rooms were ready early we would be able to check in early, and true to their word we got our rooms on arrival at 2pm. The free wifi was very welcome, but a bit hit-and-miss; I got a poor signal in my room but my girls had a great signal in theirs. The main reason for my giving this hotel 4/5 instead of 3/5 is the staff; without exception they were helpful, friendly, efficient and pleasant. They are a credit to the management and to Best Western in general. Even when there was a small hiccup at checkout next morning, it was sorted out efficiently and quickly, with an apology and a smile. Would i recommend this hotel? Yes, definitely.. Would I return to the hotel myself? Unfortunately not; the beds were just too firm for me (for all of us) and I had a sore back for days after we left. If you like a firm bed, this won't be a problem.

"Really friendly & Professional."
PETER B, 27 Janvier 2016

Rooms are outdated but still ok. However, the staff were really friendly and only too happy to help. 1000% better than The Station Hotel across the road, avoid that hotel at all costs. The breakfast was absolutely superb and cooked to order.

"Lovely place to stay"
Toshers, 24 Janvier 2016

Stayed here 1 night with my sister and young niece. Arrival - friendly polite staff. Check it was easy and only took minutes. Room - double and single bed, clean, good size, tea & coffee available, toilet was clean and lots of complementy shampoo etc Spa - everything was clean and in working order. Breakfast - again lovely friendly staff, nothing too much for them and cooked breakfast was lovely. Good hotel. Little dated but has traditional features. Well recommend and definitely stay here again.

"Great staff"
paddy04, 23 Janvier 2016

Just spent Friday night at this hotel only bad point is rooms are tired and need a face lift I believe this will happen soon if it does I would go back leisure facilities are good food was great breakfast good value for money and tasty we were made very welcome and nothing was a problem well done to the staff at this hotel thanks

"Dated, Dark and Dismal"
BENGHLAS, 17 Janvier 2016

Website belies the truth. Stayed one night and that was more than enough. In fact we had considered leaving and going elsewhere but it was too late by the time of arrival. Reception was dingy, old fashioned and room was no better. The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom cold and in a bad condition. The shower was not working properly. The leisure facilities were only partially available (the main reason for booking). The condition of this hotel put us off even attempting to use them. The staff were ok. COMPLAINING ABOUT THE STATE OF THIS HOTEL WILL APPARENTLY CHANGE NOTHING. AVOID.

"STAFF THE BEST ASSET"
Pandy80, 16 Janvier 2016

This a three star hotel very close to bus and train station in Perth. Did not use pool etc. or restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was good although might have been hotter on the plate. Young staff very attentive and smartly turned out. Had some conversations with staff "out front" and they gave us some nice insights to the area. All in all a dated place but given the staff and location would not hesitate to stay again.

"Disappointed that Hotel advertises Spa Facilities and 2 out of 3 are OUT OF ORDER"
traceymac, 12 Janvier 2016

Old style hotel which could do with an upgrade. Reception staff were lovely but that is as far as the compliments will go. Booked this on the basis that it offered "spa facilities", namely spa pool, sauna, steam room - 2 of which were Out of Order and according to staff, have been for quite a few weeks! Would be courteous if Best Western had highlighted this either on website or at time of booking. The gentleman at the pool reception was curt and grumpy - the changing rooms are beyond shabby! The linen in the rooms was clean but to walk into a bathroom with an "avocado" suite took me right back to the 70s!! You could hear guests walking about all night and sleep quality was rubbish. I did air my disappointment at reception but nothing was escalated, I then wrote to Best Western and the e-mail was forwarded to the hotel and I received an unacceptable response. I normally book Hilton Hotels but wanted Perth with spa facilities - I got Perth but not Spa Facilities - I will not book with Best Western again, not only because of the out of order sauna and spa pool but because of the way my complaint was handled. The manager questioned why I booked through Booking.com and not direct - I am not sure that is any of his business nor should make a difference!! Sorry Best Western but I'm going back to Hilton Hotels where they are up-to-date and have a far superior customer service.

"Not too bad on a whole "
Zoe R, 10 Janvier 2016

I have just finished my stay at best western queens hotel Perth and am disappointed that after both looking online and talking to someone on the telephone that no one could tell me that the spa and sauna facilities were not working, we were told by the leisure staff that this has been the case for several months which is Appauling that it is not displayed on the website, the pool and spa facilities are the main reason for my stay here and we couldn't even enjoy them. Staff were friendly and could see why we were a bit annoyed decor is extremely dated witch is a huge let down as the hotel has a lot of great potential. Beds are comfy and it's literally 5 minutes from the centre.

"Last minute overnight stay"
margaretPerthshire, 09 Janvier 2016

Reception staff were helpful, room was a good size and clean. Bathroom very dated and requires some maintenance. A good price at a busy time of the year. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment. Good location next to train station.

"OK for an overnignt business stay journey breaker"
Ronnie L, 06 Janvier 2016

Clean rooms, friendly staff, bar prices high for poor level of choice and interrupted service , reception lounge bit unfriendly and decor dated. Having stayed here a number of years back, I would say this hotel has gone back a star since last visit, also taking account of the fact that I stay in Best Western Hotels on a regular basis here in the UK and on the continent, the Queens lagging quite a bit behind what I expect.

"Lovely nights stay"
Lynsalorla, 03 Janvier 2016

Stayed here last night. Family of 4, 2 young girls. Don't be put off with first impressions. Older hotel. Plenty free parking outside. Smooth check in. Room on level 4 was spotless. Large. Very cosy. Asked for travel cot and two lovely maids came up straight away to set it up. Very helpful and nice. Excellent pool, warm water and loads of kids toys, floats etc. pool quiet so great for kids. Gym was dead too but never used it. Equipment looked on the dated side but plenty to choose from. Went to bar for supper, food was lovely. Really good. Food was on the slow side but worth the wait. Great wifi in room, managed to watch the darts on Sky go without any hiccups. Beds really comfy we all slept great, no noise. Shower fine in morning. Nice breakfast, made to order. Good choice. Used pool again once we checked out. Handy location for people using bus or train. Not far to walk into town centre. Would definitely return again

"New Year package"
Pedro54321, 03 Janvier 2016

This was a two night stay with friends to celebrate new year. We arrived on 31 and we had deluxe superior rooms this was on the 5th floor which is good as there is a lift. The room was fine with bathrobes and slippers and a good size bed. They had a gala dinner which was excellent and entertainment with dancing to all music there was a piper at midnight and this was enjoyed by everyone. The staff were very good smart and quick. On 1st there was a dinner also with entertainment, quiz, the same entertainer and karaoke. We had a good time. The breakfast was also good could not fault the service or food

"Christmas eve stay"
fifi w, 27 Décembre 2015

My party stayed here from Christmas eve to xmas morning. I must admit we found it's location very convenient directly accross from the train station and beside bus station and a short walk to the centre. Im sad we never got to try the leisure facilities on offer such as the swimming pool which is unusual for a hotel in perth. Our room was clean with lovely shower and bathroom. The room was slightly dated but that is all cosmetic. The beds were comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. The following morning we had breakfast which was very nice and waiting staff excellent. We will stay here again.

"XMAS WORKS DINNER"
8920johnl, 15 Décembre 2015

Had our works Xmas lunch, which was very good, three courses, service was great, settings in dining room were pleasant. Had a few drinks in lounge bar nice surroundings. Would recommend, When we were leaving it was starting to fill up with other groups, looks like it's a popular place for functions.

"Served a purpose but no more"
scjs, 01 Décembre 2015

I stayed here at the weekend, its easy to access being close to the station, the rooms are spotlessly clean - housekeeping are by far the best performing department! The receptionist was busy chatting to her friend when we arrived, i seemed slightly inconvenient for her to check us in but thankfully she did. No instruction as to where the room was or the lift or where breakfast was served or if we could have dinner. So we found the bar and had dinner - again the staff were more interested in their social lives than the customers. We felt we were in the way. We did get a good night sleep, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was good in the morning. The Wifi connection wasnt good so we couldnt do any work before our meeting. We eventually found where breakfast was, again the staff were too interested in each others conversation to be interested in serving our breakfast. The choice of cold buffet was however good. At check out - you guessed it the receptionist was on the phone to her friend - luckily we had pre paid so didnt need to disturb her. All in all - beautifully clean, some maintenance required but a serious amount of staff training is needed.

"Great food and lovely staff - very friendly and efficient. A bit quirky but go with the flow!"
Irene D, 25 Novembre 2015

Whilst first impressions are important - it does not always do the place justice. A bit dated in decor but a warm welcome, bed comfy and bathroom fine. The dinner was delicious and the best bacon, potato scone and perfect poached eggs for breakfast. thank you one and all.

"Hotel could do with some maintenance."
Colin D, 25 Novembre 2015

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Staff were great and very friendly. The room we stayed in on the other hand, was a bit of a let down (rm 412) The window in the room did not close correctly and let in the cold air (was a very cold night) and noise from the road out the front. We were also woken at 5 in the morning by the sound of the guests in the room above, walking around, the floor boards were very noisy. Didn't say anything to hotel staff as didn't want to complain, but this sort of think should be noticed in the day to day running of the hotel

"good experience"
Janet T, 15 Novembre 2015

good hotel in an excellent location, near to train station and also has their own parking. excellent food. staff very friendly. a lovely quiet nights stay. lots of little extras offered at no cost. very welcoming

"Cozy is an understatement"
Kimberly C, 12 Novembre 2015

We stayed here for the last night of our 8 night vacation in Scotland. The lobby staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, allowing us to leave our luggage behind the desk because we arrived too early to check-in, and allowing me to use the front desk computer to print boarding passes for our flight. However the pluses end there. The room was extremely small, so small that we could not open our thee suitcases on the floor and there was no place to open them. The room was also extremely hot. We had to open the window and were then awoken before first light by TWO trash collection trucks. We ended up eating in the first floor lounge because everything in Scotland closes at 5:00 and there was no place to get snacks. We ended up paying over $18.00 for 2 mediocre cheeseburgers and we only drank Pepsi.

"Homely Hotel"
AnTa123y, 10 Novembre 2015

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Queens Hotel in Perth, enjoying a couple of bar meals during this time. Breakfast was excellent and hot, served on hot plates. The room could have been a little bitter but for our stay was adequate, warm, clean and welcoming. We would recommend staying here to anyone and we would use it again.

"Good hotel, Friendly staff, Good location"
glasgowlad2015, 07 Novembre 2015

I stayed here for 3 nights for a political conference. I had to make a last min booking but thankfully i found this hotel!! I drove from Glasgow all the way to Perth. I found the hotel car park spaces very accessible and safe. I found the staff very kind, very friendly and always making sure you're enjoying your stay. I had a delux room - very clean, modern, tv etc. Bathroom needs an upgrade i guess but overall excellent room. Bed v comfy! The cooked could be a lot better, did expect it to be top quality but it was so so. Overall i'd give this place a 7.5/8 out of 10

"Worth a Visit"
ddebbyw, 06 Novembre 2015

This hotel is well worth a visit. The staff are extremely helpful, the food is great, the beds very comfortable, the leisure facilities are a bonus and the fact it has it's own car park is definitely a point scorer. It is in close walking distance to town, the railway station and the bus station.

"Distinctly Average"
gfisher25, 02 Novembre 2015

Stayed for 1 night, and to be honest that was enough. Very dated hotel both in public rooms and bedroom. Was kept awake most of the night with banging doors and creaking floorboards whenever anyone moved around in surroudning rooms. Ate in the bar and again it was nothing more than average - The Rosemary Lamb burger that I had was on the dry side and could have done some additional mayo / dressing, which we were not offered and as the bar staff kept wandering off there was no one to ask. The pool, sauna and steam room were all good, and although we did not use it the gym looked pretty well stocked with equipment too. Like the other public rooms the changing rooms were tired. Breakfast was good with a good choice of both hot and cold items. All in all - average!

"Tired Hotel; Friendly Staff; Good Food"
Inverclyde, 29 Octobre 2015

This Hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment (everything in my room needs replaced) and, despite friendly staff, a decent bar meal and a good breakfast; I wouldn't book this hotel for a leisure trip. OK for 1 night business stay but no more.

"Yet another visit"
Mike H, 24 Octobre 2015

We stayed twice, first for 3 nights and second for 2 nights, Pool and Leisure is as good as it always has been on previous trips. We had a room on floor 4 which was quite noisy with the traffic in the mornings. There was a Curling Reunion on so lots of people for breakfast, which was speedily and efficiently served. Our second stay was on the 5th floor which was very quiet, room 503 is the best in the hotel ! The staff were all very efficient and pleasant as usual. Evening meals in the restaurant are limited as the menus don't change. We will go there again next trip up to Scotland

"Business stay"
196kays, 23 Octobre 2015

Generally the stay was ok. Very noisy at the rear of the building. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was above average and I would definitely eat there again. Hotel rooms are just a bit dated, certainly the one I stayed in.

"Hotel with good leisure facilities"
Patrick S, 19 Octobre 2015

Reason for selecting the hotel was the leisure facilities. Not disappointed with leisure facilities. Hotel was clean and functional. Staff were friendly. Central location and close to train and bus stations.

"Hen Weekend"
Poppy450, 19 Octobre 2015

For my hen weekend we booked into this hotel for 1 night stay - 6 twin rooms. One room did smell strongly of smoke - receptionist suggested it was our clothing (we are all non smokers) but did transfer us to another room - much better. Clean rooms but décor dated, but for what we paid you couldn't complain! Breakfast dining room quite small but good breakfast on offer. After a lovely swim and sauna we had afternoon tea arranged also in the hotel. Lovely spread of sandwiches and cakes. Could have been more attentive with the tea/coffee - we had to keep asking for. Overall a good hotel with good facilities, even if they are a bit dated

My mum & I were on a 2night break at this hotel. It was very comfortable & ideally situated for the shopping area. The staff were excellent & very attentive The barman was very kind to my mum who has some mobility issues. He helped her up the few stairs to the dining room The food was wonderful & very well presented.

"Good Hotel and central location"

We booked this hotel as a last minute deal for two adults and two teenagers for the night. Included was use of leisure centre. We all had an enjoyable night in Perth and kids loved the use of pool. Although some decoration required in leisure centre, facilities good. We had a good night sleep and a great choice for breakfast and staff excellent and informative. We also had a parking space for our car, good size car park. We also used the bar on site to get some snacks for kids in the evening. Nice hotel with good atmosphere.

"Lovely stay"

We just returned from a 2 night stay in the hotels family room. Room was very clean although we felt it was small for 2 adults 2children. Spoke with reception who said they had no bigger rooms available. There was a sign in bathroom stating we were unable to use bath due to plumbing issues. Blind in bathroom was very badly stained. We loved the swimming pool which was very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely. I would be happy to stay again if there was at both goer room.

"Enjoyed our stay"

We recently stayed at the hotel for the second time so thought I would write a review. Great place the food was lovely and plenty of choice especially the breakfast and desserts. I would also recommend the fish and chips. The staff are all very helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms are spotless although bathrooms wee bit dated due to style of the hotel. But excellent leisure facilties and right next door to bus and train station. The centre is also 10 min stroll. I cant wait to go back :)

"Disappointing"

Went for a working lunch and experienced unfriendly and uninterested service in the bar area, sticky tables, dirty teacup and unsatisfactory food - avoid chicken salad wrap! I will not use this hotel for business meetings again.

"Good Location"

Pleasantly surprised . Rooms very clean and bed comfortable. Staff very nice. Hotel very near bus station and train station. Short walk into town centre. Only problem was having to wait until 4pm to check in.

"Start of a short holiday"

On checking into the hotel we were made very welcome. Overall our room and bathroom was a good size, warm and comfortable. A complimentary bottle of red wine and glasses was waiting in our room, courtesy of the hotel. We had our wedding reception at the Queens Hotel, in 1970 followed by a celebratory lunch on our 40th Anniversary and as this was our 45th year together we went back to actually stay in the hotel.

"Dated hotel"
mcass123, 29 Septembre 2015

Booked an overnight here with my fiancee, the room cost £90 for a standard en suite double, the hotel and the room was very dated and in my opinion, in need of some upgrading, breakfast was just passable, not the best for the price we paid Will I go back, no Would I recommend it, no

"Excellent overnight stay"
Carolcraw, 23 Septembre 2015

We had a 1 night stay and found that the staff we sooooooo helpful. Although rooms are not usually ready till 4 pm, they had asked at time of booking what our approx arrival time would be and a room was ready for or arrival. Reception staff were so welcoming, polite and helpful. The room decor was bit tired but everything was absolutely spotless and the bed was very comfortable. We had lunch in the bar and I can honestly say the burger was the best I've tasted, pure beef. Our breakfast was excellent and again the staff were lovely. I would recommend staying at this hotel and we will definitely be back.
