« Good stay, I'd skip the city though »

Good hotel, all in all... clean rooms, spacious enough, convenient discounted parking garage right next to it, with reasonable prices. I wouldn't quite call it 4 stars, but that may be relative to this town. I'd recommend skipping Perpignan as a town for an actual stay though - treat it as a day trip destination. It was fine, but nothing special. The town itself feels on the edge of being run down and has a pretty rough feel once you're away from the tourist center area. Try nearby Collioure instead, which was beautiful.

Travelling from Eastern France to Murcia Perpignan is an ideal place to stop. In the past we have used economy overnight Hotels but thought for once to treat ourselves to a Central location. My partner is a Diamond member of Best Western, so we had tried to book via their website and were told by the site that there was no availability, however, looking on another site we saw that there were rooms being offered, so we booked via their website. On arrival the chap on reception was loath to add our booking to my partners points system as we had booked via and clearly did not believe that the BW site had refused our booking. We had to prove it by showing the BW site, this was not a good attitude to welcome a regular BW user, so a cool reception! The location is both good for the old City and the town centre, the parking arrangement is very local and secure but beware the ?One Way System' to get to it! In fairness the restaurant recommendations from the receptionist were all good, we looked at three of them before being charmed by the exterior of VIP Restaurant in the Old Town, there are so many good restaurants in Perpignan it is hard to choose! The room was excellent, spacious, light, well appointed, good view but not at all noisy, scrupulously clean and well equipped, we will certainly stay there again, again via another site if the BW site is not sorted out!!

« Great location, some facilities lacking »

Two minutes' walk from the Cathedral, great! Lovely friendly staff. Two negative points: first, we stayed five nights. There is NOWHERE to store clothes, apart from two drawers in the shower room (who wants to store clothes in the shower room?!) and one hanging rail. Nowhere for pants, socks, bras, tops, hairbrush, bits and pieces.... I had to live out of my suitcase for five days, which is not satisfactory. There is a desk - couldn't that have had drawers under it?? Bedside table - no drawers under that either. We peeked inside a suite as we left, and even though that is much bigger, still no clothes storage! Do hotel designers ever think of how the room is actually going to be used? Second, there is nowhere with comfy chairs to sit down and read. The room had two chairs (which we used to put clothes on...) and they weren't comfy ones for sitting. Downstairs there is no lounge. We were having a relaxing holiday in Perpignan, but there was nowhere to relax actually in the hotel. They should at least have some comfy chairs downstairs by the front windows in the breakfast room. Shame.

« Friendly Staff, Nice Rooms »

Stayed here for a week whilst on business with a couple of other lads. The staff where friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms we had were on the 5th floor (there 6 in total) and were modern with walk in shower, TV, coffee maker, mini bar, etc .... bed was comfy, the shower hot and powerful enough and everything very clean, my 3 main hotel criteria. Breakfast ok, usual continental stuff i.e. Boil your eggs - WEIRD ! But it was ample to start the day. If I'm ever back on business I'll stay again for sure.

    « Very good hotel. »

I have stayed in this hotel on two occasions now and I was very happy with all aspects. The room was of great size, air conditioned with coffee and tea making facilities. There was also an array of free health and hygiene items in the bathroom. The breakfast is good and the staff are always helpful. The shops and all bus services are within a 5 minute walk with plenty of restairants arpund you. Everytime I come to Perpignan I always choose this hotel.

« Good Location, Excellent Staff, Fine Breakfast »

We arrived during the late morning and expected to leave our luggage with the staff since we did not expect our room to be ready. After we parked in the underground public garage across the street and returned to the hotel, our room was ready and we unpacked, looked at the local map, and headed into the old town and the Rigaud Museum where we wanted to see the Picasso in Perpignan exhibit. Our room was excellent, as we've come to expect in BW affiliated hotels around Europe. The hotel's location was proximate to several good restaurants and an easy walk to most of the shops and tourist sites in the old town. The breakfast was very good and we are glad to have chosen to have it rather than heading into town.

« Good location for a brief visit to Perpignan. »

Spent one night here on business recently. Hotel was fairly small with no restaurant. Rooms also compact but fine for a short break. Breakfast room again limited space, so try and attend outside peak times. Public underground car park just outside hotel. Local town centre restaurants just a five minute walk away.

    « Great for a night »

This is a great hotel for one night however not a four star hotel once you enter. Rooms are very well equipped. The only bad thing was that the AC was directly above our bed so couldn't really have it on at night. Staff are great.

    « Very good hotel »

Stayed for the weekend. Very helpful staff. Bathroom tiny but adequate for a short stay. Breakfast choice was excellent. Maid service s and cleAn towels every day. Reception tried to help us with everything we asked for. Central location and was close to everything we wanted. Highly recommended.

    « Good in parts »

Basically a good place to stay, comfortable, good location reasonably priced. However let down by not very good room service. Stayed 5 nights and we had two days with the tea, milk and sugar not replaced, one day when the cups weren't changed so still stained from the day before and the two bins not emptied at all while we were there. Little things that should have been better. Other staff, reception etc helpful friendly and polite. Would I stay there again. Yes.

« Stay at Best Western »

Stayed here for a fortnight. Very comfortable stay. Excellent staff. Location of the hotel is perfect. Right next to city centre. Bus stop is just outside the hotel. Train station 20 mints walk. Lot of food options nearby. Overall Excellent I would stay

    « Wonderful »

Chose this hotel after looking at lots of reviews of other hotels. Fantastic position on tree lined boulevard. Great facade amongst other architectural beauties. The greeting from Frederique (excuse the spelling if incorrect) was first class as was the rest of the service provided by him. The room was great with a small balcony overlooking the boulevard. Perfect position within very easy reach of everything & so quiet. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to beautiful Perpignan & I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

« Tatty, confused with the added bonus of a caged bird to accompany breakfast! »

The staff were very accommodating, booking a vegan restaurant for myself and my husband. The room was fine, didn't quite understand the layout though, a spare room with a small sofa facing a wall, waste of space but enabled the room to be labelled a suite anyway 'bedroom' was comfortable enough. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, not a very good 'flow' and people scrambled to get their food whilst queues lengthened for tea, etc. We would never go back and the reason is they had a live parraqueet in a cage by reception, something that was not there the night we booked in. We complained about this barbaric treatment of a fellow creature to a sympathetic staff member but apparently the manager of the hotel insisted that the bird be imprisoned and kept on show rather than be taken to a sanctuary. Shameful treatment to witness and something that the new French Government should outlaw, birds are meant to be free, as are all animals, and left to fly where they wish. We will not return. S.& A. Spence Clarke.

    « For the rugby »

Hotel really central, 5 mins from airport , basic rooms not a lot of space, but free WiFi, aircon, safe, iron& board, well stocked mini bar which is chargeable . Breakfast was as expected very Mediterranean but plentiful, only two little snags on our 3 night stay! One day the room never got made up , no reason given so we had to get clean towels from reception, after we got in at past 11pm which wasn't a problem and they brought them immediately 2nd snag , no eggs for breaky on last day , no pre cooked and no raw for boiling , when we asked for then was told wasn't any more, but it was only 9 am and the couple before us had eggs , and there was nobody else in the place that morning , perhaps lost in translation, we were offered scrambled and bacon from the warmer, but it hadnt been turn on so everything was stone cold !! , she tried to make amends by micro waveing some of the cold stuff, but we were ok with our cold meats, bread and jams by this time. All that being said I would definitely stay again next time in perpignan

« Pity about the keys »

The Windsor is a modern hotel just on the edge of the old quarter. We booked an executive twin room for four nights. Although the room itself could not be faulted it looked out onto a small internal courtyard of solid walls with a drain at the bottom. It was probably the worst view we have ever had in a four star hotel. On the other hand, it was probably the quietest city centre room we have ever had so we slept well ? you win some, you lose some. I understand that it was the only executive room with twin beds. However, I think I would have preferred a bit of traffic noise and a more open aspect. The staff were always pleasant and helpful ? and on this occasion, they needed to be. The electronic key system had failed and every time we wanted to get back into our room, somebody had to come up with us to use a pass key. It still had not been repaired by the time we left. I can sympathise with the hotel but what surprised me was that being part of Best Western, there were not central resources that could have been thrown at the problem.

    « Nice Hotel »

Thank you to Fred and Kevin, for all their help Clean, great breakfast, friendly staff We recommend this hotel D.Jones The Roberts Un grand merci à Fred et Kevin à la reception Hotel propre, trés bon ptit déj, personnel amical Nous recommendons le Wilson à tout le monde

« A clean, pleasant hotel with excellent staff »

Two years ago I visited Perpignan on business and stay at the Mercure Perpignan Centre. It was nothing special. I noted that the Hotel Windsor just across the Boulevard Thomas Wilson looked very well cared for. So when I booked a short break in Perpignan with my wife I chose the Windsor. We were not disappointed. The hotel is clean and well decorated throughout. Staff were extremely helpful. On the day before departure a French Air Traffic Controllers strike caused the cancellation of our return flight. Although I had booked alternative flights I was concerned that these, too, might be delayed or cancelled. My schoolboy French was not adequate for me to check on the situation. So on the evening before our flights, the duty receptionist was very helpful. He checked websites and ?phoned both the airport and Air France to establish that there was a strong likelihood that our alternative flights would run on time. The cold buffet breakfast was fine. It seemed that no one had touched the small bain marie of hot English breakfast so I left it to stew in peace. Our superior room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and a wide range of facilities were provided, including a coffee making tray, which is unusual in France. We had just one niggle- there was an offset in the aircon control. To achieve a pleasant 18C in the room, I had to set the control at 22C. Overall we liked the Windsor and will certainly return in future.

« An excellent stay at this hotel. »

We stayed for 5 nights here. The location was ideal - near the centre and on a frequent bus route. The staff were all very helpful and courteous. The air-conditioned room was spacious, clean and comfortable. A minor problem with a plug in the bathroom was dealt with immediately. Breakfasts were good and plentiful. Thank you for an excellent break. A l'année prochaine!

    « Ideal for a short break »

My boyfriend & I recently stayed at The Windsor after a few days in Barcelona; using the high speed train that connects the two places. From the train station it is a 5 minute taxi journey to the hotel. The hotel is situated on one of the main roads in the town which is ideal when needing to use the local public transport and only a short walk in to the old town which is a maze of cobbled streets and squares. Our room provided us with most of the amenities we needed, for our short stay in France. The bed was king size taking up a lot of the space of the medium sized room meaning there was little room for much needed storage of clothes apart from one rail but no shelves or drawers. Great though as there were tea & coffee facilities & a mini fridge ( packed with drinks & treats- to purchase). Also a room safe which was free of charge. The small balcony outside gave us a great view of the Pyrennes which was beautiful particularly at sunset. The bathroom was clean however it was pretty small & the shower cubicle set in an alcove, was tiny! Any sudden moves in the shower to reach for things, meant you accidentally pressed the shower off or onto a different temperature! Overall we enjoyed our stay at the The Windsor as the hotel was perfectly located to explore the beautiful town of Perpignan & the surrounding coastal area of Couiller & Canet Plage. Many thanks to Frederick & his colleagues who were extremely friendly & very helpful when we asked for help and advice about local attractions & places to eat. We would stay there again or recommend it to friends ( as long as the shower cubicles were extended in size!)

    « Excellent choice »

My first time in Perpignan .travelled with my young daughter . Staff really excellent. Reception very helpful. Good choice of breakfast, comfortable bed . The location is unbeatable.very short walk to the pedestrianised area of the city.

    « Good location »

The hotel is situated in the centre just a stones throw from the old town. Restaurants in abundance. Nice walk along the canal. Public car parking next to hotel but safe and secure. Would return. Great stop over hotel on the way through to Spain.

    « Absolutely great stay! »

Great location very close to the centre; lovely clean rooms; big bed; big TV with a great choice of channels; balcony with nice view; pleasant communal space/reception/bar. The best thing about this hotel however was the fantastic staff. They were so helpful and pleasant. On our last morning we were in a rush and missed breakfast. The lovely man on duty offered us coffee and croissant while he called us a taxi to the airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel, we had a fantastic stay. Thank you.

« Good for short stay! »

Nice location, rooms small but clean, good beds. No parking near hotel, breakfast below average, personnel not very friendly. This is a good hotel for short stays if you are passing through Perpignan.

« Location Great. Room stinks »

The hotel is in a great location. The hotel itself was quiet with the staff being fine. Helpful and polite. The rooms good points. Clean, nice little balcony. It was small, but not an issue. The big problem was the room stunk. Stunk of drains. You smell it a lot out in Perpignan when in the heat of the city. I did not expect it in a hotel room. Ok I did not spend much time in the room, but it was an issue. It would make me think twice about staying again.

« Comfortable beds, lovely breakfast »

The wife was sad to leave this hotel for our next location. She wanted to bring the bed home. Great breakfast, loads of choice, nice and fresh. Staff really helpful. Great start to our vacation across the south of France. Perfect location for buses, shops, restaurants.

« Friendly, Helpful Staff, cramped & tired room. »

We stayed here for our latest Perpignan visit to see our team play the Catalan Dragons. Its a handily located place, less than 250 metres from the Castillet. The desk staff cannot do enough to help and I thank them for that. However, its not the Hilton! The rooms are small and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom needs re-grouting and it just feels tired. Breakfast was ok, but a bit pricey at 14 euros each!. Car parking is directly opposite underground and if you ask the desk they can save you a bundle on the cost.

    « Excellent stay »

Super location so easy walking to old town and shops . Plenty of restaurants nearby . Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful . Worth hiring a car and visiting Canet and the local area . Airport only 10 minutes by taxi from the centre with flights up to Paris .

    « perfect site »

We had considered other hotels in Perpignan, however, our travel agent advised us trying this one on recommendations from others. It was situated on a nice large boulevard, treed in the middle with buses leaving and coming right across the street. We were in an easy walk of the area for shopping with history all around us. The highlight of our stay was our front desk "consultant" Frederic. We hounded him for restaurants, shopping, etc. and he always had great suggestions! He would accommodate us in our every need! The breakfast every morning was delicious as well! We were so thankful we took our travel consultant"s advice!

    « Good location »

The hotel is located a few 100 meters from the city centre so plenty of restaurants and bars close by The front desk gave great advice on where to go and restaurant Decent room but not that big Older style bathroom but clean Breakfast was good in order with plenty to choose from There is an underground parking garage litterly in front of the hotel so that makes it easy to park

    « Nice Bed! »

After a few previous nights of hard beds and bad pillows in other accommodations, we were very well rewarded by the incredible bed and pillow combination here. My wife and I both awoke without the sore backs we'd been suffering for a few days. The room size is typical European (a little tight), but then we had essentially a King bed, so we enjoyed the benefit of it, despite the tight quarters. An excellent value and location. I wish they had some parking provisions that didn't cost us almost $45 the next morning (we used the underground parking nearby).

    « Horrible! »

We got the 105 euro room which is alright although a bit overpriced for the space and the fact the bathroom door didn't close (not lock, close). I get in the shower and in 10 second the water turned very hot and is unable to turn cold. I am left with shampoo on my head which is getting to my eyes and burning. No cold water. I had to leave the shower with shampoo in my hair. We call reception and within 10 mins she calls back saying the Technitian had fixed it. Nope! So I call her back telling her that this is expectable and she needs to find a solution to this. She doesn't call back. My boyfriend goes downstairs and she is completely un preoccupied saying the manager is not there and the Technitian is working on it and that there is nothing she can do about it. Talk about service! Definitely don't recommend this to anyone.

« Great location, good price, friendly helpful staff »

Room clean and spacious. Great location - 2 min walk from old Perpignan. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, and directed us to a parking area 5 minutes' walk away which only cost 2 euro per day. Decent aircon - essential on a hot August night. Room had a small balcony. Wifi signal not great but adequate.

    « overnight »

fair room which was a bit tired, the hotel is fine but just needs a bit of care and attention to bring it up to date a bit, some issue with the plumbing in our room and the sofa bed wasn't set up for our daughter which i always find a little surprising. the staff are friendly and amenable, and the location is good for town centre

« Very Comfortable stay in a nice location »

Stayed on a Sunday Night and got a free upgrade to a Superior room. Room was spacious, with lots of nice touches. Bed very comfortable and bathroom was large with a fast hot shower. Hotel has a lift for the less mobile. The location is beside the Old town and the shopping areas. (No shops open on the Sunday).

« Superb, Central, a two minute walk from the historical centre. »

first class room, clean, tidy, spacious and luxurious, fantastic view from the corner balcony. Big bathroom an efficient air conditioner. plenty to do and see in the town centre, music in the streets every Thursday and loads of restaurants and cafes to choose from. Would definitely stay here again. Do not park in the underground car park opposite as it can get expensive, find somewhere to park in the street.

    « BW windsor »

i loved the pillows and the quiet AC in the room 402,beside the location of this hotel. the room was spotlessly cleaned by the nice housekeeper . very small room ,minuscule bathroom and no internet.i asked the receptionist in morning and he said that the internet is working fine and the one in the afternoon was saying everyday ,that somebody was coming to fix it. when you enter the hotel, there are a few steps with no slope on side for carrying luggage. dirty elevator. over all,i was not satisfied of the facilities for the price i have payed so far, these are the first and last five days spent in bw windsor perpignan

« Modern and clean at central location »

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western. Our room was nice, modern and clean, giving us the feeling of being newly renovated. We had a corner room with a really cozy balcony where we enjoyed the quiet evening in Perpignan. The hotel is placed only a few minutes walk from the center of town. For us this was the perfect choice of hotel for our one night in Perpignan. The air condition worked perfectly, and the service was excellent as well - with a really friendly staff. Our only complain is that we could hardly connect to the free wifi...

    « Cheap & Cheerful »

Having used this hotel a number of times to watch my favourite rugby team I've not got many complaints. It's what you would expect from a Best Western Hotel.. It's cheap & cheerful nothing excellent...

    « Not happy »

Normally we try to avoid Best Western hotels when travelling in Europe. But, oh, well, it was a last minute thing and reviews looked ok?. I decided to give it a try? I shouldn't have? Location is...
