"Truly disappointed"

User 28/08/2020

The biggest disappointment was after spending about 25 minutes doing an online check-in spending another 30 minutes to collect the keys for our rooms. Eventually turned up the online check-in for one of the rooms didn't work on their side despite me showing an email confirmation of the check-in. Opt in to pay online however they still wanted my card. Rooms were of poor quality. All the rooms are interconnecting and the doors are so thin you even can hear the shower running next door. Despite we were having 2 room we didn't get neighbouring rooms but were split almost at the two ends of the hotel. Will probably not stay there again.

"Good for a night"

Leonie1111, Auckland Central, New Zealand 23/01/2020

We ended up at this hotel after our car broke down near Passau and it's right opposite the car dealership. Perfect location for us. Late night check in was very handy and uncomplicated. Very quiet as it was after the shop opening hours. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Free coffee and fruits at the reception in the morning as a pleasant surprise. Breakfast (8Euros) is worth it if you're a breakfast person.

Dear guest, thank you very much for your great feedback. We are very happy that we could satisfy your expectations completely. We hope we can welcome you in our house soon again. With kind regards

"Didn't Plan To Stay Here, But....."

asamiya2016, Aarhus, Denmark 13/08/2019

Didn't plan to stay here, but as we wanted to have a overnight stay over. As all the hotels was booked up, in the Southeast area of Germany. Only Best Western was left. Didn't really wanted to book with Best Western, after our previous stay in the Prague one. Arrived at where the hotel is, I was wondering if we was in the right place. Seeing a supermarket, other shops and a parking lot...but the hotel sign showed up. It had it's own parking lot, in front of the hotel. There was a group of kids, messing around with their bikes and cars there. That didn't make me happy at all. The hotel is on the third floor. And it's only has one floor...the third floor. Our room over looked the parking lot (handy for keeping on eye on the car). As the room didn't have AC. And in the middle of the heatwave, that wasn't good. Though the hotel did provided a tower fan for our room, which we placed up on to the bed side table. Still had to open the window, and the kids were very noisy, plus the shops nearby. Once all the noise died down, it was a peaceful night (Friday). We didn't stay for breakfast, as we 1. need to keep driving to Vienna. And 2. we didn't want to chance the breakfast (sorry the Prague B.W. is still on our minds). In the end this hotel, eventho we wouldn't have booked to stay in the first was ok for an over night stay. The room the very clean, as was the hotel. Just the location, put it down...very very down. Yes there is free parking, thought you do worry with the kids around (might have been a lot of CCTV around). Stay IF you have to stop overnight. Sorry I didn't take any photos.

"Party in front of hotel"

Margaretha D, Ghent, Belgium 28/06/2019

We booked this hotel because it was a quiet place said the website. The reality was different. Impossible to sleep because a party nearby was going very very loud. The reception told us the noise was not a problem...

"Inexpensive hotel with free parking - many benefits"

lossow, Olney, Illinois 05/06/2019

Do not be dismayed by the commercial setting of this hotel. If you have a rental car, parking is free in a huge parking lot. Next door is a huge department store, where you can buy anything you need (Kaufland) as well as food and drink. It also has a beauty shop (Salon Bernadette) where I had my super long hair washed, rather than mess with it in the hotel room. The rooms are small, but adequate. They are immaculately clean. Their buffet breakfast is about $10 and is well worth it. Cheeses, salmon, meats, all kinds of cereals and fruits and nuts, great breads, assorted coffees, teas and chocolate and juices; etc. WONDERFUL breakfast. Small public room where we played cards and drank champagne which is sold at hotel desk, along with wine and beer. It is about a ten minute drive from the train station. There is also a very good Chinese restaurant next door!

"Clean and tidy rooms, great breakfast"

feherp88, Budapest, Hungary 20/04/2019

BW Amedia Passau is providing a great solution for overnight stay in Bavaria. Rooms are a bit small but cosy and very clean. Bathroom is big enough, water is hot. Beds are really comfortable. Breakfast was rich in variety but I really missed some Weisswurst from the buffett. It would be a nice gesture to the travellers if they could taste this Bavarian sausage for breakfast. All in all I recommend the brand and this property. Keep up the good work Best Western.

"Not a good start"

ChrisKim22, London, United Kingdom 13/09/2018

after driving across from Nantes on a tour for a TV company we had set the outside broadcasting trucks up at St Stephens church in the centre of Passau... keen to get booked in before 1pm I called ahead to ask if there is any chance of rooms being ready.. None I was told.. But if we wanted to pay €15 we could book in (suddenly rooms are ready) this was very annoying so opted to wait til 3 & book in for free. As a chain hotel it actually was not bad, bed was comfy, staff were very nice & it was clean. Location is out of the town & having the supermarket & MacDonalds across the road was very handy. Buses 1 & 2 take you into the town. Breakfast was not included in our rate (company trying to save a few Bob) but is €8 per day if you want it. When we booked out I noticed that they had added the breakfast for 2 rooms for all 6 nights so ended up having an argument over that as we didn't have it, a manager finally turned up & said that it will be refunded back onto to card. Some complained about noise but I didn't find it too bad.. Would I use again? As it happens should we be working down this way again I'd be happy enough to be placed in Here...

"Very comfortable stay during business trip"

User 07/05/2018

I stayed in this hotel for two nights while on business trip. It is easily accessible from highway, the room (especially the bed) is very comfortable, the room is clean, the staff is friendly. I had a pleasant stay, and rested very well here after a long drive. I would recommend it for business trips for sure.

"far from train station. Small room. Friendly reception"

DGSmanila, Bangkok, Thailand 05/11/2017

Arrived Passau by train from Munich after 11PM. Was not aware about the distance to the hotel, missed the bus (at that hour just once an hour bus) and walked short distance before rain start and luckily found taxi. It was well over 10 minutes taxi drive. The hotel set-up is little strange being on some top floor of supermarket / office building. Reception was fast. Room is very small - one bed to put my things and other to sleep. Internet is good but have to change slips with reception. I did not had breakfast so no comment. There are drinks and cookies + fruits during the day at the lobby. It finish too much fast. I requested some help in print out some documents in the reception which was given with smile!!!! There is supermarket under the hotel. Bus stop 3 minutes walk away. Few restaurants around.

"Great place to stay while passing through"

RUFUS W, Transylvania, Romania 29/10/2017

Again my wife and I were driving from western Bavaria to eastern Europe and needed a place toovernight enroute. The Best Western Amedia Passau is just a few few minutes off teh A-3 Autobahn (Passsau South Exit) and is an excellent plaace to stay for the money. The staff makes us feel very welcome each time we come through. Highly recommend this hotel for a short visit. I say 'short' because we have never stayed more than one night per visit.

"Unfriendly staff"

benquintens, Tienen, Belgium 05/07/2017

Unfriendly staff, cramped rood without ventilation, bathroom also too small, no good location, far from the city and next to a busy and noisy room. This place in only suitable for people on their way but not for a longer stay

"Average overnight hotel"

User 04/07/2017

The hotel is ok for an overnight hotel. Sufficient parking available and easy access from highway. It is quite a noisy hotel though. There is no airco so for some fresh air you need to leave the windows open. Lots of noise from the car park downstairs which is also for the shops. Plenty of noise from the hallway as well both in the evening as well as in the early morning. We had the upgraded rooms which are quite ok in size.

"Good for overnight while driving"

User 04/05/2017

A pretty good place not far from both the major autobahn and the city center. There is a municipal indoor swimming pool just around the corner and a supermarket downstairs. Huge parking lot available.

"Ideal for Short Stay"

Evelyn B, Florida 14/01/2017

We can highly recommend the Best Western Amedia Passau, especially if you are traveling through. It is the most reasonable in the area with outstanding service. Mrs. Schreck, the manager, and her staff go the extra mile to make everybody feel special and welcome. Complementary fruit, coffee and brownies are available in the lobby, with water and a coffee maker in the room. The standard rooms are rather small and it is worth to get an upgraded room. The mattresses and bedding are very comfortable, rooms are very clean. Excellent wifi and free parking. Breakfast and a small selection of drinks are available in the hotel. No restaurant but there is a shopping center in the same building, restaurants and McDonalds across the street. Many extra little gestures that will make you feel appreciated. Thank you, Mrs. Schreck and Team!

"ideal for quick motorway access"

elcreto, Crete 20/11/2016

We were travelling from Greece to France and just wanted a place to stay for the night , which was close to the motorway. This hotel was perfect only 5 minutes away so able to get straight on with our journey the next day. Hotel was very clean and snacks and drinks were available at the reception. Only downside was the lack of places to eat in the vicinity, only a chinese restaurant and a Mcdonalds. Didn't try the breakfast, so can't comment on that. A really nice touch was the bowl of dog food and water placed in reception for our dog on arrival. Nice friendly staff too.Plenty of parking at the front of the hotel too.

"Passing throught passau"

cristian p, Arad County, Romania 12/11/2016

This is a budget hotel for my opinion, it has a good position in Passa, it is located at the near outside of the town, it has small roms for my taste, but there are a very clean and it was warm. At the ground is a large Kaufland store where you can buy a lot of stuff, and at a very good price ! the hotel has a free parking place that is shared with the store located there. In the parking lot it is situated an Asian restaurant . It is a good hotel to spend the night.

"Good for a 1 night stay"

Pieter D, Opwijk, Belgium 07/09/2016

We stayed here for 1 night on our way to Slovenia. Rooms are small but OK. I was missing air conditioning since it was warm outside and the personnel forgot to close the outside blinds before we arrived in the hotel. Bed is confortable. Breakfast is so-so. We were having breakfast rather late and some things were already missing (e.g. croissants).

"Good value, friendly staff"

travelmatters123, travelmatters123 13/08/2016

We stayed here for two overnight visits at the start and end of a cycling holiday. Hotel is outside of Passau and up a long hill but we were able to leave our car there whilst cycling for the week for a small fee so it suited us well. Our first room was near a supermarket loading bay and very noisy, the 2nd time we stayed we asked for a quiet room and that was much better. Rooms are small and very hot due to lack of aircon but bed was very comfortable, immaculately clean and good shower. Staff really friendly and helpful, would stay again but probably not in August due to heat.

"Perfect for short stay"

User 02/08/2016

Rooms are small and cozy but you've everything needed. Bed is very comfy! I loved the big choice of food for breakfast: good quality products, fresh fruits, cereales, very tasty teas... If you are staying here for a few nights, this hotel is perfect! The stuff was really kind and helpful. I recommend it.

"Good Way Station"

User 28/07/2016

:) The hotel is located on the third floor of business building, behind Audi service (very useful information). Room and bathroom are very clean. The bed is comfortable and clean. Parking is free. The staff is friendly. I emphasize GREAT breakfast :) :( Room No. 170 where I stayed, has dropped down external blinds on the window, that guests can not lift. Therefore, the room is dark and claustrophobic (my feeling)... Access (with car) to the hotel is poorly marked and quite confusing, especially when you arrive at night.

"Goodt place to stop while driving across Germany"

SDGraham, Oregon 16/06/2016

This rather small hotel in in a shopping center well away from the center of town. The hotel itself is on an upper floor of an office building. Nevertheless, rooms are great. WiFi works well and the breakfast is outstanding. Parking is free and there's plenty of room. There's no bar or restaurant, but the desk, but there's a small gathering place near the front desk and you can buy beer at the front desk. The free coffee in the lobby is very good. All-in-all, it's a great place to stop if you're driving across southern Germany.

"Good sleepover with parking"

GregorZKC, Slovenske Konjice, Slovenia 11/06/2016

This is not a charm hotel, but correct, clean and with helpful workers. I would suggest better signs to and in the hotel. Best Western is on the door, the signs before are for Amedia Passau The benefits are huge parking, shopping center in the same building, Rooms are modest, clean with TV and WI-FI. All the rooms are on the top floor which is more distant from the traffic and other noises. I do prefer rooms that look away from the goods entrance. Breakfast is one floor lower at the end of the building. The food is good. The corridor is long and dull the staircase scares that you have lost your way. Some paint and framed pictures would do a lot. There are 5 min to the bus station and 10 minutes ride to be in the center. Reception provides all the instructions and accurate timetable.

"No Evening Meals"

T0nyK, Edinburgh, United Kingdom 25/05/2016

Stayed here on an overnight stop passing through Germany. The hotel was on the outskirts of Passau located over a supermarket. The carpark was actually the market carpark and we were promptly requested to vacate the disabled space by a supermarket attendant collecting rubbish bins. Although my wife is disabled and requires the extra space to get in and out of the car, the attendant did not care as he was collecting his rubbish bins. No other disabled space was identified. The room itself was average, no food being provided for evening meals we were directed to a local Chinese. Breakfast was served in a breakfast room on a lower floor. Not what we expected from Best Western.

"Great hotel"

lowlybard, Orange, Australia 16/05/2016

We have stayed here twice now Rooms adequate clean well heated, bus to centre of town not far, taxi to station about €15 Breakfast a highlight - delicious and varied. Coffee great . There is a big Kaufman supermarket right in the same block, so lack of fridge in room not too bad. Very accommodating staff, helped us print off itineraries tickets etc. will be back - Passau a glorious town!

"Great bead and breakfast location"

Deanbox, Rotterdam, The Netherlands 25/04/2016

We were passing by and needed one night stay. This place is perfect for short stay as is it near by the highway. Rooms are a little bit small but was not issue for one night. Room is clean and quiet and there is parking space in the front. Local shopping market is in the same building so it is ideal for us. Late check in was also allowed which was great. Breakfast was really really great and coffee was perfect, don't hesitate and take the breakfast! We surely will come again!

"Nice but small"

Ilovebelize, Sagle 17/02/2016

We just got off a Viking cruise and took a taxi to this hotel. The hotel is on the 5th floor of a huge complex. I am of the opinion that breakfast was extra so we did not go. Perhaps I am wrong about this. I had some coffee in the lobby--- "Would you like some coffee?" and then found out there was a charge when I checked out. The room is neat and clean but to my surprise, it was no bigger, perhaps even smaller than my room on the cruise ship- we had to watch the t.v. sideways - across the bed and I had to look across my husband to see it. It is a long ways from the old part of town but you can figure out how to take a bus. There is a car rental place very close in case someone wants to rent a car or have the rental ready ..... unfortunately we picked a different agency and had to take two buses to get there. The wonderful thing about this hotel is that there is a two story grocery store on the first and second floors and I thoroughly enjoyed looking, buying- beer is cheap.... cheese is delightful, other things interesting but no kitchen....there are also various kiosks with food- We enjoyed ordering schnitzel with French fries, so generous helpings that it was sufficient for two and only $5 Euro. in other words, it is off the tourist trap prices market. Another nice surprise was a mini October fest nearby where they had a large carnival rides, food booths, bier gartens with music. This was early September. Computer available in the lobby.

"Ok for a one night sleep over, poor service at breakfast"

User 20/12/2015

Hello, The rooms are small but ok. In the morning we decided to have breakfast a bit late and all the scambled eggs were gone, we asked if it is possible to have some more even just a hard boild egg and the waitress told us that it is not possible, 15 minits after the hotel staff had breakfast in the same room from the buffet left over and they had a big bowl of scambled eggs on the table. I was quite upset. Next time I might go for the McDonalds breakfast instead, or will buy sometihing in the supermarket as it is in the same building.

"Good for a quick stop and sleepover"

VettigeSwa, Brussels 19/08/2015

Located in a business park but close to the motorway, we slept over in this hotel on our way to Hungary. The rooms aren't very spacious and there is no airconditioning. On hot days this is a definite no-no. The room and bathroom were clean and the breakfast offered a complete range of food at a very acceptable price.

"Good stop for a night"

Maggie&Vinnie, Blackburn 17/08/2015

Fairly comfortable rooms apart from being so very hot. No air-conditioning, no fan. The staff are lovely and very accommodating. It's a regular stop for us because it's so close to the motorway. Great Chinese restaurant in the complex. The finest kebab café in the supermarket is a must!!

"Okay for one night"

RasMechelen, Mechelen, Belgium 15/08/2015

This is a good compromise for 1 night rest. Room is a bit small but pretty clean and definitely not expensive. Hotel is located few minutes away from main highway. We arrived in the middle of the night so it was not really clear how to enter the building because hotel is on the 3rd floor and not all elevators go to the hotel.

"Very noisy !"

User 27/07/2015

The hotel is nice the rooms are good and the women behind the desk was very helpful the issue with it is it is right by a big supermarket and deliveries happens at all times during the night even with the windows close you can hear the trucks reversing and off loading, 01:00 in the morning and 05:00. Not a quiet place. Be aware !

"Good place to stop overnight while on the road."

RUFUS W, Transylvania, Romania 21/05/2015

"Good place for a quick stop while on the road." • Business trip • Couple • Twin Room • Stayed 1 night Room was small; but, we were only there for a stop en route. Easy to find and only a few minutes from the Autobahn. Fine breakfast choices. Well worth what we paid.
