Best Western Plus Parry Sound

Everything was great except the checkout experience. Ruined the stay for us. First, they wouldn't give us a late check out until noon. This is the first time that I've experienced this at a best western. Especially at an empty hotel. Ended up paying $25 for the pleasure. Then at checkout we were told that we couldn't use our points to pay for the bill and if we'd wanted to do that we should've paid in advance. Fortunately I found our reservation where I could clearly show that we had reserved the room with a combination of points and cash. Then they let us pay the way we had intended. We were getting attitude the whole time. I've stayed at dozens of BW's and most of the time they knock it out of the park with customer service, but this one was the worst. It felt like a motel level of service. Maybe she was having a bad day, but we won't be going back.

Booked an accessible room for the amenities listed in the photo below. After checking in, I found that the toilet was low, not raised, no walk in shower , the floor was not flat in the room and had about a half inch lip between the two areas, the one chair was excessively low to the ground and the desk chair had no arms to assist in getting up. The mattress was squishy and uncomfortable. Upon asked to be moved, we were told the hotel was booked full. On the second day, we left the room when housekeeping arrived. He asked how we liked the room and I complained it was not accessible. Upon coming back to the room later in the day, both our keys would not work. Coincidence? I think not. When we went downstairs to get new keys, there was no one at the desk (we noticed more times than not there was no one at the desk). The sign and bell were on the far side of the back wall. I went around to get the bell only to find out that it didn't work. On the last day I noticed the bug in the bathroom. On checkout I asked to speak to the manager. They were not in so I asked for a call back. After a week, nothing. I filled out the survey sent by email and asked for a call back. Instead I received a form email filled with platitudes. When I replied that that was unacceptable and that I would like his manager to contact me, i waited a week and again, nothing. The only good thing was the kitchen staff the presented a nice breakfast, spotless area and were very attentive. I was very disappointed in my experience at this hotel. Do not recommend.

A solid, clean highway hotel with good amenities and service

Hotels smells strongly of bleach, everywhere. Also, very disappointed to see that single use plates and cutlery were used for breakfast - no care of sustainable practices. Speaking of breakfast, there is inadequate amounts of food available. For 2 days of our stay, we relied on bread as all the hot food stations were completely empty. The only positive to this hotel was the convenience of the location to Killbear.

We had a mini vacation in Parry Sound and stayed overnight at this hotel. Check in was fast and the clerk was friendly. The hotel is newer and very clean. We enjoyed a spacious room with coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. It was a Sunday night and we had the pool to ourselves, it was awesome! Water temperature was perfect and towels were available for us. There's a Walmart right behind the hotel so we had a little shopping, very convenient! Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Breakfast buffet was very good with a wide variety of foods including omelets, sausages, waffles, muffins, yogurt etc. Plenty of seating areas and staff to assist us. Would definitely stay here again!

Really great experience, the rooms were spacious and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

No mention on the door or front desk the pool was not working properly water was freezing. And very milky . Paying for pool in a stay should be told about it and a discount given. No one answers the desk phones nor did the manager call me back. I have stayed here prior all was great this time was terrible grounds unkept pool out of order not like best western and I have stayed in a number of them

Excellent well appointed hotel. Couteous staff. Excellent breakfast selection! We came for a family reunion in nearby Dunchurch.

Stayed at the Best Western in Parry Sound and was very pleased. The hotel is new, clean, and well-maintained. It's in a great location—close to restaurants, shops, and just a short drive to Killbear Provincial Park. Perfect spot for a comfortable and convenient stay. Would return.

My wife and I had a very nice stay at this hotel as well visiting the community itself. The only problem was the scandalous way we were led to believe that our "over the phone"reservation was being processed directly with the hotel . We realized after the fact that the third party booking scam ended up charging us more for the room than the usual rate and did not provide a cancelation option. The additional irritation occurred when we were informed that our 2 night stay did not apply for BWP points since the third party processed the reservation. Usually, we are wary of this kind of deception when making hotel reservations but this experience was an exception due to the misleading booking agency.

Beautiful hotel, clean, quiet. Great kids breakfast! Friendly female staff member at checkout. A little confusing and frustrating making the booking over the phone with one of the male evening staff members but rest of the staff were great! Overall a great stay!

Hugely disappointed - we spent $100 more than similar hotels in the area as my daughter and I had not had a holiday for over 10 years and felt the $100 was worth it to swim. BUT the pool water was not heated, it was freezing, which made it impossible to swim - sad to have thrown away $100 for nothing. I advised the desk & would have expected a discount , but none was offered. Will never stay there again altho I have family who have just moved nearby. I felt cheated!

Overall it was an excellent stay. Would have given 5 stars should service at check in was better handled. For a planned hockey tournament hosted in that city; the check in service was horrible. Emma whom was on the desk did absolutely nothing to accommodate or check in with staff seeking if rooms would be available upon our arrival which was earlier than actual check in. Early arrival for my family was due to a hockey game scheduled for 3pm. Then when we returned back to the hotel to check in because at this point we had to get my son to his game; which he and other players ended changing into thier suits on the property not in rooms as intended with an early check in. We drove 3 hours for this service and willing to pay extra fees. There was a line up which Emma knew she caused and left work right in front of all of us leaving the other lady to handle us checking in. Very deliberate and poor, poor team player and hotel worker representing that brand. There was another lady and her partner whom came to help us all were incredible. Professional. Polite. Speedy. All things Emma was not. Beyond horrible experience with Emma, the rooms were excellent. Breakfast, pool and gym were all excellent. Meeting rooms excellent and top kudos to the maintenance manager who made sure he took care of us during our wait upon arrival and took the time to listen to us disgruntled about Emma upon leaving. Other people working the hotel were fantastic. But goes to show that one person can cause grief on a weekend intended to be fun, enjoyable and overall positively memorable.

I stayed here with my son and his hockey team Oct 18/20. Best Hockey team hotel experience yet. Given a meeting room for a team dinner, almost all families together on the same floor. Breakfast staff was accommodating of game times. Friendly staff. Very clean hotel! Gold medal for this hotel from our team!

Great newly built best western hotel in Parrysound.modern and clean.. Friendly staff..tasty and great breakfast with a lot of choice ..conveniently located : close to the marina by car..also close to restaurants..Walmart..pharmacy..

Best hotel we have stayed in all summer and have spent time in over 20 hotels this summer. Very clean and new. Breakfast was very tasty. Cheese omelette hash browns and peameal bacon with lots of. Cereal and break options. Easy to access hotel. Didn't bother us but our view was Walmart parking lot.

The hotel is fairly new so the rooms were clean and comfortable. However check in and checkout was very disappointing. The people at the desk ignored guests, were not professional. I still haven't received my hotel bill since they said its emailed and brushed me off.

This hotel is the best in Parry Sound. It is our go to place. Close to downtown and other restaurants. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast is included and was a typical complimentary breakfast. We had the extra sitting are as we stayed for 3 nights.

Excellent super clean well maintained property. Beautifully decorated rooms. Tons of bedside ports and outlets for charging. Wish there were “comfort height toilets Bathroom is small and a bit awkward to move around in but it's very clean and a nice LED lit mirror. Keurig coffee maker in rooms. Two pillow choices…partner felt bed was too soft….i liked it. Box spring is fully enclosed (thank you!!) Halls were wide and quiet. Breakfast buffet was good….eggs were flat squares but there was peameal bacon and home fries plus all the usual options. Only 4 floors in the building….elevators were fast and clean

A group of friends booked four rooms under one name. During check-in staff was confused how to separate invoicing on four separate credit cards and then loyalty programs became a huge problem. The end result is one of the four rooms received a discount but other three rooms have not even though we received receipts indicating the proper pricing. After many calls to the hotel there is still no resolve and don't ask for a call back because you probably won't get one.

Pool was disgusting couldn't see the bottom of a 3ft pool and bad odor coming from it to and wasn't mechanical some lazy employee wasn't checking chemical levels the pictures are the morning after they put chlorine in which shows how bad it was

this place was a pleasant surprise our last experience at a best western was awful everything was great, the room was clean and the breakfast was very good for hotel food i can't complain , even our 2 dogs were welcome and had a good stay i will definitely return to the parry sound best western

Super clean and spacious rooms , free parking , great amenities ( Gym and swimming pool) walking distance to Walmart, restaurants and other amenities.. great breakfast and awesome staff.. Cant say enough about this place.. Highly recommend

We stayed at the BW in Parry Sound the night before our boat cruise and it was a good choice. The room was new and spotless., as is the whole hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. There is lots of parking and the location is handy to most everything.

Great hotel in Parry Sound. Rooms were clean and breakfast was exceptional. The staff were very helpful. We stayed one night for a concert at Festival of the Sound. It is right off the highway with shopping around. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Staff were friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Great variety for breakfast, fresh fruit gluten-free options. Lots of tables available. Clean and spacious rooms and common area. Location had lots of amenities in surrounding area. Fridge in room was clean and in good working order.

A very spacious reception and well laid out hotel lobby with a relaxed atmosphere. Our room with king size bed was excellent, bright, spacious and with all the facilities you would expect, first class in fact. Ideal for the few nights we stayed.

Excellent hotel. New, with beautifully maintained rooms. There is flooring instead of carpet. Bathrooms are very modern. The pool is great if you have kids and the fitness room is open 24 hours. Staff were all very friendly and professional. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Party Sound area.

Excellent clean hotel. Great shuttle service to Pearson airport. Excellent hot breakfast included in hotel room fee. There were choices of hot breakfast including fresh fruit and many Danish and toast options. Family had a very special stay and will remember our trip tyo Ontario and surrounding areas as very pleasant.

This is a modern hotel. What really stood out was the cleanliness. The room was spotless in every way. It had flooring, rather than carpet, so any dirt, dust would have stood out, especially walking in bare feet. There was nothing. Everything was completely clean. The free hot breakfast was very good. I would prefer real bacon over the peameal bacon that they serve. The eggs are these "rounds" that tasted great, not diluted scrambled eggs like some hotels serve. There was fresh fruit, yogurt, breads, english muffins, waffles, etc. Something for everyone. They even had decaf black tea, which is what I drink. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

This hotel is very clean. Pool was good, kids enjoyed it. I did see some things floating in it but that was cleaned up by the next day. Breakfast was good. Kids love the waffles. I would stay there again. I wish it was a little bit cheaper but I think that about most things now a days.

We were camping at a nearby provincial park and it had rained for 3 days straight. It was great that the Best Western took pets so we could get some relief and bring the pets in with us.

We had 20 golfers recently visit this property for three nights. The property is very new probably just over one year old. It had all the amenities you'd want and more. With our golf watches, our iphones it was great to see so many plugs available in the rooms to charge these devices. The rooms had a small fridge which was very convenient. The staff was friendly, very helpful and kept this hotel spotless. Parking was great, location was good with many fast food restaurants in the area. A Walmart was a two minute walk to get anything you may have forgotten. We were treated excellent and everyone of The Tour Golfers would recommend this hotel. The beds were so comfortable and the pillows were excellent. The breakfast was very good, many healthy choices along with hot selections. The staff again kept everything stocked up. Hotel was spotless. Front staff went out of their way to make sure our rooms met our expectations. Continental breakfast was fantastic and the ladies who worked there made sure w3 had everything we needed. We were in the area when it was extremely hot so the pool was a great way to cool off. No better place t9 stay if you are in the Parry Sound area. Rick Schroer

I have had two exceptional stays here! Gina makes the breakfast experience great. The decor is lovely and the front desk is friendly and helpful. The pool is clean and well maintained.

Our stay was enjoyable , staff was friendly, rooms very clean, breakfast with many options for all tastes, coffee available 24/7. We had a king bed and room had fridge, coffee maker, microwave, safe, iron and board, hairdryer . I with bathrooms had fans I wish the room had extra pillows and blankets

The management went out of their way to accommodate our wedding party by allowing us to use the boardroom when we got back to the hotel after the wedding. The manager herself brought us extra chairs and provided a complementary case of water along with mugs for the bride and groom.

You can tell it was newly designed as the decor is very modern but still cozy and luxurious. I've been to hotels that have costed more and were less nice, so this was a pretty good deal i'd say. My partner and I will likely book the same hotel should we come back to Parry Sound.

Stayed for a hockey tournament with our 3 kids along with our hockey team. Manager was absolutely fantastic, very kind and understanding. Couldn't have had a better time. They even had granola bars out for the hockey players. Was awesome

I was met with a friendly greeting.. The check-in was seamless. The room was spotless, spacious, and well laid out. Breaft at hotels are not always the best. This one was the exception. Lots of choices and the food was very good. Check out was perfect, and the lady at the checkout was pleasant as we chatted for a bit as none was in line behind me. It did cost approximately $215 for the night. It was worth it. I didn't get to use the, however. My fault Excellent stay

Amazing and friendly staff who are incredibly patient! Facilities were clean and looked recently updated. Breakfast area remained clean and inviting to dine. I Highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again in the future should the opportunity arise!

You wont be disappointed. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Clean rooms, really nicely furnished. Close to all amenities and downtown. Appropriate for long or short stays. I would stay there again and recommend to others

Hotel is new, modern and should be good - but it isn't. To start the hallways are excessively brightly lit and the entry doors have too large a bottom gap meaning light floods the room unless you try to block it out. Similarly there is no end to light pollution in the room - poorly fitting drapes and bright spotlights pointed at the building outside, lots of clocks, microwave and bathroom night lights. Impossible to sleep well if you are the least bit light sensitive. Bed spongy and hot foam mattress. These things should all be fixable!

This hotels location was great Lots around the area. Check in was easy and the rooms were beautiful and clean. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh and they had gluten free options for me. The beds and pillows were so comfortable

We had planned a motorcycle trip that was going to take us through Parry Sound. The Best Western Plus looked like the perfect place for us to get some rest in a comfortable room for the night, so we booked a room three weeks in advance through booking.com. The day before our stay we decided to modify our route due to the weather. I was aware that I had missed the cutoff for free cancellation, but submitted an exception request to the property in case they could accommodate. I followed up with the property the next day and received a call back from the general manager who was on vacation at the time. He explained that since the room type we had booked was not at capacity he was comfortable with approving our late cancellation at no cost. I felt that he was very understanding and I appreciated him taking the time to call me. We will definitely be rebooking at this hotel the next time we pass through Parry Sound.

This was a nice stay. The bed was very very comfortable and the pillows were good. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. This hotel is in a very good location ...1 minute walk across the parking lot to grab some groceries at Walmart or some dinner at fast food establishments if needed. The hotel was nice and quiet as well. The only complaint (very small) is that with a hotel this new you would think there would be a smart tv so you could access Netflix or other....again small complaint. Would stay again!

Everything about this hotel was great. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is new and modern. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Breakfast had a lot of variety and plenty of food.

The hotel is beautiful, the front desk were very friendly and professional. My experience here was one of the best I've ever had! I would definitely recommend this hotel. They allow pets and I certainly will return when the opportunity presents itself again.

We make a point of staying at Best Western hotels while travelling, and this establishment does the brand proud. New, modern, comfortable, well located close to everything, with good restaurants near by. Friendly staff made our stay very enjoyable. The only negative-the pool was closed for repair. Oh well, maybe a swim next time.

Everything is amazing. starting from the hotel entrance/lobby/ lounge area is very spacious and has a modern touch to it. The rooms were spacious with a lot of day light and not to forget beautiful sun rise you can see from the window. Breakfast was good with variety of options to choose from. HEATED swimming pool was warm even for my 9 month old daughter who had a blast and refused to get out of the water. All in all amazing hotel, would definitely be visiting soon.

I stayed there last weekend, and was really impressed with staff and services. This place is very moarden, top furniture. I was pretty much by the pool the whole time, socking in warm waters. Looking forward to my upcoming stays, going to do some snowmobiling... and photography.
