Did not feel safe. A group of about 15 obviously not travelers were staying there. Appeared to be some kind of refugees. They did not speak English and they were disheveled looking. One just kept staring at me when we were eating breakfast. They were hungry and ate a lot of food. Mostly adult men a few women.
Good breakfast with varieties but the worst part was extremely bad smell coming from room carpet and other accessories. Also I dont think this hotel is ideal for couple since most of the other guests were not the family type which we did not like
We left our bags in the suite and immediately left to have dinner with family. As we were leaving I told the desk clerk there wasn't any shampoo, conditioner or shower gel in the wall containers. When we returned for the night we saw the suite was filthy, it had not been cleaned. There were 2 huge red sticky stains on the living room carpet. The living room tables had cup rings and there was rubber bands, plastic tabs (from clothing), an ink pen cap and small pieces of paper on the living room carpet along with a dehumidifier running in the living room. A pile of food was on the bathroom floor near the cabinet. Hair was all over the front of the toilet near the gritty floor. There was no shampoo, conditioner or shower gel in the wall containers. A hairpin and food was on the floor behind the entrance door. And a live roach was found in the bedroom. I do have photos that were shown to the desk clerk when I requested a new room. I had to ask for my refund (of the suite vs room) price difference, she replied "it isn't that much of a difference." and that the refund will take some time before it is applied to my card. The desk clerk said that she did fill the soap container at the sink but never checked the shower containers, she also stated that she could guarantee the new room would be clean. Although the secondary room was clean, there is an offensive odor in the hallway outside of room 125. In my past experiences with your hotels, none of this has been a Best Western standard.
THE PILLOWS ARE REALLY NICE AND THERE ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH. THE ROOM WE REALLY LIKED BECAUSE IT FACES THE PARKING LOT AND WE CAN SEE OUR VEHICLE FROM OUR ROOM. TWICE WE'VE HAD THE SAME CLEAN, FRESH ROOM. WE REALLY LIKED IT A LOT. THE BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT MY HUSBAND IS VERY PICKY AND HE ONLY WANTED TO STAY THERE BECAUSE OF THE BREAKFAST. WE'LL BE BACK SOON.
The beds had hair in them. The floors looked like they had not been vacuumed. There was no Privacy sign in the room. I had to go to the main desk to ask for one and the woman there wasn't friendly at all. The day we were leaving, the lady who serviced the breakfast bar arrived an hour after the breakfast should have opened.
Poor staff, cleanliness is NOT their priority, supposed to be smoke-free, but staff & guests were allowed to smoke RIGHT OUTSIDE THE FRONT ENTRANCE. Parking area is VERY POOR, breakfast is good, although during one morning it was an hour late. Management needs to look into the se problems. Our room is damp, the humidifier had MOLD in the water tank. Housekeeping is lacking.
Outside was clean, but halls and room was not, comfortable bed, quiet, friendly staff. I will stay at anot Best Western, but not this one.We had a quick chec in and a quick check out. The basebords needed a good dusting. Internet was no problem.
Coffee machine was broken, sausage every day for breakfast made breakfast un-enjoyable, found out no toilet paper on 1st night when going to sleep, the room I got on the second floor, has the parking lot flood lights pointing to the window, I felt like I had daylight 24/7, I tried to close the curtains and I still had clarity inside the room
Front Desk staff was helpful, everything was clean, comfy beds, nice pool, good breakfast, will book here again if we return to the area.
Not very clean and noisy. I had a business trip and stayed here prior to my Panama City Beach appointments. I am a BW Gold Card member so I try and use BW as much as possible. The staff was smoking right at the entrance, check in went smoothly. I had the last room as I asked to change to a single king room as she said they were full, I was on the top floor and was immediately hit with the smell of mold. They had several large fans running in the walkway. The room appeared clean until I went to take a shower and shave in the morning. The shower was dirty and a used bar of soap was in the shower. As was shaving the sink failed to drain. I pulled the drain stop out and it was loaded with hair. Upon checkout I let the desk clerk know. All he said was I'll let them know..
The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. It's convenient to many restaurants and the beaches. I travel to PC very often and always choose this hotel.
Great location for family....love best western hotels great location for shopping and beaches for travel
This hotel far exceeded our expectations in all areas. The rooms and the overall layout of the place was not what I expected to see at a Best Western. Will definitely stay again and recommend to others.
It was very comfortable and the room was very clean. I had no problems and was safe. Breakfast was just right for my diet that I am on. Also they served Coffee all night and I had to work late so it was a blessing to get it.
We were 3+ weeks into a big road trip. We were planning on staying in Apalachicola again on our way home but the prices started at $200/night because of the seafood fest in town. (The clerk was very apologetic about it.) We had already driven almost 7 hours that day & were tired. We did a search & decided to push on to Panama City for the night. We were happy that this hotel passed the bed bug test & looked clean. The breakfast was your typical hotel ala carte breakfast & the good news was that our cruiser bicycles weren't stolen off the bike rack on our vehicle! My only problem was that I couldn't figure out what made this a BW Plus. It seemed like the one in Apilatchacola which isn't a Plus.
This review is for the stellar customer service I received at this location. Noelle deserves all the praises. We had just got off the road from a 10 hour drive for a family funeral. We had reservations at another hotel that couldn't even guarantee a room. (Holiday Inn on Martin Luther King). Noelle was very understanding and welcomed us in, and empathized with the situation and made sure she made us feel welcome and comfortable. I hope this review reaches the eyes of someone who can compensate her for her awesome customer service.
We booked for 5 nights. Upon check in, we waited and waited to be seen at the check-in counter. When we finally were met at the desk, a young man came out from the back- OBVIOUSLY having just woke up. We interrupted his slumber. We checked in. He assigned us a room and gave us a key for a room that was already occupied!! We walked into someone else's room. Ok, honest mistake!?! Went back to the check in counter, he was obviously bothered by us inconveniencing him and his rest but assigned us a new room. Went to the new room. Key didn't work. Ok, still no biggy!?! Went back and we did this TWO more times (so this is the 4th time in total) before we got a room that was actually vacant. Our reservation was for five nights. On the 3rd day we informed the front desk that our room had not been cleaned and we needed towels, toilet paper, trashed removed, toiletries, etc, ie the room need to be cleaned. It was still not done on the 3rd day, so we notified them again the next day (the 4th day) and again asked nicely that the room be serviced. Came back after being out all day on the 5th day and the room was sill not serviced (5 days in a row). By now we had 5 days of trash, trash bags full of food items, moldy towels, etc. it was foul! It smelled terrible! Went to the don't desk to tell them and was told to put the moldy towels and trash bags outside the room door. In ADDITION to this, we had to go down to the desk EVERYday to have our room key cards reset as every time we left and came back, the key didn't work. The cherry on top of this was our room had roaches. We have pics of the trash, heap of moldy towels and roaches. Edna at the front desk was great and apologized. She was sweet and was very apologetic (although it wasn't her fault). After putting the trash and towels outside the door, we went down and got fresh towels and toilet paper and slept in nasty smelly room. It was 5 days of TERRIBLE! Will never stay here again!! Will never stay at a BW+ again. Edna said she spoke to the manager Kevin and he said “there's nothing he can do about it because we booked through a 3rd party.”(Expedia) BE AWARE, the BW+ in Panama City will NOT honor their commitment to service if you book through a 3rd party- which 78% of customers do. This is their “guarantee” directly from their website…. “Best Western Plus® goes beyond the expected, offering everything from well-appointed guest rooms to upgraded amenities. Connecting you to Best Western Rewards®, our award-winning loyalty program, we are committed to delivering the highest degree of hospitality and unmatched value — around the block and around the world” Needless to say, we did NOT receive the “HIGHEST DEGREE OF HOSPITALITY AND UNMATCHED VALUE.” In fact it was the antithesis of that! We are avid travelers and travel the world. I have NEVER written a bad review for any place in my life, until now. Stay elsewhere. Don't ruin your vaca by risking this establishment. Disgusted!!
I have been working in Panama City for 6 months. The first month I tried multiple hotels around the city until I stayed here..I am going on 4 months at this hotel and wouldn't think of going to another. The entire staff is A+ and management, desk staff and cleaning crew.
We loved our stay. Great price. The complimentary breakfast and the coffee station were wonderful. ALL of the staff was very pleasant, especially Manager Deanna, she went above and beyond for us when we had a small issue with our room. 10 out of 10, we will stay again!
Lovely hotel until the key system failed and our family were locked out of their room for over 3 hours. No senior management on site to access room either before we left to try and reach our appointment or when we got back. We just missed them apparently..... Delay impacted on our reason for being in the area. While compensation was offered they failed to respond to booking.com to assist and no compensation delivered. There are plenty of other good hotels in the area so while it's nice for the majority here if you are that unlucky one, your on your own.
I enjoy my stay at this hotel. The the things I didn't like was the breakfast and the fact that the receptionist didn't know how to redeem the gift cards from the promotional events. But it was ok with no worries.
Right off the back when we were checking in they told us that we had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the room to be cleaned. Though, an hour prior when we went to try to check in early, they said that they don't do early check-in‘s and that check-in will be at three, which we were fine with but then you're telling us we have to wait additional 20 minutes. When we get to the room we notice it isn't as clean as a hotel room should be. The microwave smelled like popcorn, some of the plastic cups had sticky stuff on it, the drawers in the room smelled like mildew or mold, and we found a baby roach in the bathroom. Not to mention later on in our stay when we asked for extra towels we were questioned million times why we need them. Yes it's only 20min from the beach, and couple minutes from shopping plazas, but it's not worth it.
I highly recommend this hotel. The price and location are ideal if you don't have a requirement for seeing the gulf out your window. The staff and amenities were all above expectation. Breakfast was the best I've had in a very long time. Rooms are very clean, and beds are very comfortable if you desire med-high firmness. The pool was clean and not over crowded during my stay. I did not use the fitness center, but i did peek in to see what they offered. All-in-all, I rate this hotel a 10 for the price. I would definitely stay there again and plan to on my next trip to PCB.
It was a good hotel for over night. Small pool, good breakfast, rooms were clean. We did have an issue but the front desk staff was very sorry and very helpful to solve the problem. Front desk staff was very nice.
We had a truly wonderful experience before, during and at checkout. Service was extraordinary and staff very helpful with good attitudes. Free Breakfast was like that of a breakfast bar we had stop to the day before and paid for. It was very delicious and there was plenty to choose from.
Best Western Plus in Panama City, Florida was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection and it was freshly prepared. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend staying here.
One of the best hotels in Panama City please check them out for great rates if you ever need a place to stay and love a friendly environment you will love this hotel and great staff of Panama City Flordia
This is one of the filthiest hotels I have ever stepped foot in! Not only are the rooms dirty and ill maintained the staff is not very friendly either. When I complained of the issues we were having we were told we did not know what we were talking about and that is the way it is!
This was probably one of the worst experiences ever. This hotel is absolutely disgusting the bathroom was filthy, the room smelled like weed, the living room air conditioner had a stuck reversing valve so it was blowing hot air. They did have a portable dehumidifier in there as there is obviously moisture issues here as well. This room had holes in the sheets of one bed, holes in the towels, and as much soap scum as you can imagine in the shower. To make it better the front desk clerk could not help us as this was the only room of the size available, she could not issue a refund as she could only leave a note for the GM Kevin who she said would not answer the phone that late at night. She proceeded to argue with me that we did not know how to operate an air conditioner, that was not the smell of weed, and the room was standard. Next she said her manager would not call us back tomorrow as he wouldn't not answer the phone but already logged into the system and added a note that said and I quote “customer to not receive a refund of any kind”! What great customer service from this location, what a great way to treat a potential customer.
Located away from Panama City Beach in a pretty quiet area. The hotel was quiet and clean. Room had all amenities for a nice stay. Hotel offers breakfast. Outdoor swimming pool. Has dryer for travel laundry needs. Nice stay for couples , families.
Stayed here on our way home from Southern FL. Hotel was clean and well kept. Breakfast buffet was AMAZING. Best I have ever encountered in my many years of work travel. Food was hot and the selections were awesome. Will definitely stay here anytime I'm in the area.
The hotel and staff exceeded our expectations. We were met with smiling employees who were very friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The lobby is very inviting and the pool was wonderful.
Dirty clothes from last guest, blood on bathroom mirror , hair on toilet and floor , dust on vents at arms level no one to check us in for 15 minutes, light coming in the window after the shades are pulled, Did not attempt Breakfast with How filthy the room was, not enough Washclthes for each guest, shampoo and conditioner not enough for a child much less an adult
Very nice hotel. Not new but looks as if it is new. People were helpful and friendly. Had a very nice breakfast. It was located by other hotels in an area that was not to busy or loud traffic. Breakfast area was clean and they asked and supplied plastic gloves!
This place was just remodeled but lacking staff and it shows. We did not have a working toliets or lighting the whole 7 days we were there. The carpet were dirty, covered with dirt and random debris. We found several staples, nails, and screws throughout the room (completely unsafe with a 1-yr old in the room).
The room we stayed in had a horrible smokey smell.Whoever stayed in it before us did not get the no smoking memo. The air stayed on all night we tried everything to turn it off but to no avail.Just ok.
Was a last minute trip kids had a blast roomy didn't know you have to request room service though so we had to ask for towels daily it was clean and quiet felt safe beds were comfortable would stay there again
Very nice lady at check in but bad room. Everything seemed sticky and wet with humidity. The AC never turned off even though set at 71. Floors felt gross and could not go without shoes. Shower dirty, no coffee cups but used coffee & filter so wouldn't have used anyway. Towels threadbare and scratchy, no Kleenex, smelled and on and on. Would not recommend this hotel.
This place was so disappointing. I checked some reviews before coming and they seemed good but they were so wrong. The place has a horrible dirty smell, my room wasn't ready by check in so I came back 3 hrs later to find out the room was still dirt with noodles and chips all over the carpet and had dirty sheets and toilet. I wanted some milk and went down to try and get some 30mjnutes before the breakfast end and they were already cleaning up and told me they were done for that day. It was so so but so nasty and disappointing. Please Do not waist your money and time here.
Outside and inside front hotel is good. Room was humid and often felt wet. Carpet is damp- asked front desk & she stated that guests move unit low and causes it to freeze and leak. Breakfast good. It's ok
The room was very comfortable, clean and had a very nice decor. The internet was fast and easy to use. The lobby and breakfast area was very clean and inviting and although there were still a Covid protocol, the breakfast provided was great and there was a good variety to choose from.
Love how the water was hot, bed comfortable, towels, restaurant and beach near, customer service was great, etc . I couldn't complain at all but hoping to get more for breakfast. But i can understand that just open
We had a king suite and it was large. The room was ok. The bed was firm but I prefer that. The shower was a walk in with no shelves or anything to put your soap or shampoo on. Kinda inconvenient but a decent shower. The staff were very nice as well. The breakfast was a heat up yourself muffin but hey, Covid. The only issue was being right next to the elevator. The elevator is literally on the same wall as the bedroom. If you stay here, steer clear of these rooms. Not only do you have the drone of the elevator you get people chatting away like they are the only people in the hotel. Not the hotel's fault but there are self centered, rude people around.
The attendants were very nice and friendly here. The beds were very comfortable and the ammenities smelled really good such as shampoos and lotions. Would Highly recommend to anyone visiting Panama City :)
A new hotel in the central Panama City area convenient to beaches, restaurants, stores and more. Friendly staff that were truly glad you were there and willing to help anyway that could. I will stay there again if the opportunity should arise.
Room was not cleaned, used soap in the shower. No comforters on the beds. Had to call and wait on comforters. Was promised a credit on my card and that never happened. I will never stay at this establishment again
The hotel is probably the most basic Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at not a great location a lot of residential around the hotel I wouldn't say the best neighborhood the food in the hotel is disgusting I had a pizza there was only a choice of four items it's got to be the worst pizza of my life you could not cut it with anything It was just the base with cheese sprinkled on it no sauce with probably 50 pieces of little bits of chicken but they was not baked in with the pizza so when you picked it up the chicken just fell off you would have to have a bite of pizza and use your fork to put chicken in your mouth I wouldn't stay here again go to the Hilton it's the best one in town
The hotel itself was very clean, and felt safe. The staff was helpful and friendly.Breakfast wasn't great, but it was offered. I would stay in this location again, but I wouldn't recommend the breakfast buffet.
Waking up with wet clothes is no fun. This place has a terrible problem with humidity. I'm guessing their building exhaust fan(s) aren't working. It's disgusting. When I spoke to someone about it all they did was open my window for a while when I was gone the next day. I will not be back.
I stayed here many times over many years. Usually I like it. On this trip it became evident things were going a little downhill. I saw a large roach on the 2nd floor and my tub would not drain. They also had some plumbing issues and no longer have guest laundry machines... not even a laundry service as a replacement. They still offer complimentary breakfast, but the cooked food is not that good and the waffle batter was terrible. I stick to their oatmeal and yogurt. On my next trip, I'll probably try somewhere else.
This hotel is past its prime and does not meet the standards expected of the Hampton Inn brand. This hotel was more than acceptable a few years ago but it needs some major attention at this point in time. There is a Hilton Garden Inn nearby. We will stay there next time.
