Linton Lodge Hotel, BW Signature Collection

This hotel is in a very smart residential area close to the colleges. Unfortunately it looks totally out of place amongst the Edwardian houses. It is about 20 minutes walk from St Giles and the centre of Oxford although there is a regular bus service. There are also local shops and cafes about 12 minutes walk away. It is quiet and there is limited parking on the forecourt at around £10/day. There is also street parking but read the notices very carefully as some times are restricted to coaches and other places are limited to 3 hours. Indeed within 200 yards of the hotel there were 4 different parking notices. The place is clean and non-descript with the staff not being friendly but efficient. There is a pleasant bar and dining room furnished in modern style. Our upgraded room overlooked the road. It was basic with a tiny bath, spots on the walls and window frames that needed replacing. There was a poor repair of the ceiling that looked as if it was following water damage. The room was large but not a pleasant place to relax. Breakfast was certainly not memorable and there are good local cafes but most guests will welcome the convenience of eating in hotel. For the price we paid, £169 for a double room without breakfast, this hotel represents poor value.

.Very enjoyable 3 night stay. Our standard double room was very comfortable with double bed, desk, coffee table and small sofa. Bathroom was very small but adequate. Shower above bath very good. Room very clean 'Self service breakfast was excellent. Very good choice of hot and cold foods. Hot food well cooked. Staff very efficient. Hotel situated in a quiet residential street. A 25 minute walk into Oxford city centre. Frequent bus service from the end of the road. Car parking £10 a day at hotel. Two small criticisms, the room hairdryer only blew out cold air. We had one evening meal, service was slow and first choice of meal not available. Would definately recommend this hotel.

Good place to stay out of the city centre in a quiet street but just a short bus journey in to town. Have to pay for car parking but not excessive. Can't think what else to say but they want 200 characters minimum!

The Linton Lodge Best Western is rated for high quality and good tranquility in its neighborhood. Service is excellent. Breakfast is also excellent. Either coming here for a decent weekend break or for the University museum and visit the Linton Lodge Best Western can be a good but affordable choice. Very high quality and tranquility. Good access to the University Good access to the University of Oxford.

We stayed here for a 3 night break to Oxford at the end of February 2024 and booked an executive double with breakfast. We had a very warm welcome from all the staff on reception and easy check-in. We had read some bad comments about the parking fee, and this was easily explained as £10 per full day, so £30 for our full stay, which was fine. We had room 111 on the 1st floor and was a good-sized room with a huge king-size plus bed. The bathroom was roomy with good quality towels and a selection of complimentary toiletries. The room was a bit dated but was clean, warm, and functional and had everything you would need, including tea/coffee, iron, hairdryer, tv etc etc. The best thing was breakfast - which included choices for everyone and am sure even the fussiest eater would find something suitable. The hotel is within a 20-minute walk of all the points of interest, or you can catch a regular bus service at the top of the road. We would definitely stay here again.

We stopped here for a weekend visit to Oxford, stopping the Friday and Saturday nights and I wish I hadn't. Firstly I booked on hotels.com and it stated that parking was available for £10 per day, which I thought was reasonable. We were planning to arrive late morning on the Friday and visit one of the museums before checking in at 3pm, and then checkout Sunday morning but do some shopping and leave mid afternoon. What wasn't clear when I booked is that parking is extra outside of the check-in hours. I've attached a screenshot of the email I received from the hotel and a picture of the sign outside. I felt the parking arrangements should have been made clearer as it increased the price by a substantial amount. I used the Justpark app and got a space just down the road for £20 for the whole weekend. However the worst part of the stay was the noise. Our room was number 11 which is close to the reception and on a corridor which seems to be a main thoroughfare. I'm a fairly heavy sleeper but got very little sleep on the first night. There may as well have been no wall or door between the room and corridor as the sound insulation was nonexistent. People were coming and going at all hours banging suitcases on a small set on stairs in the corridor, slamming doors and talking loudly. I basically got no sleep from around 3am onwards. I asked to move rooms at reception in the morning and the fellow on the desk was very courteous and immediately gave me a room on the top floor. However I had the impression this was a regular occurrence so is a known problem to the management. Room 11 and I imagine others in the vicinity are not fit for purpose. Despite moving rooms the lack of sleep essentially ruined what was a much needed weekend break as we were too tired to enjoy the Saturday and ended up heading back to the hotel and having an early night. I will say that both rooms were clean, if not a bit dated (no plug sockets near the bed?) and the staff members I spoke to were very courteous and friendly. The location isn't too bad for town, we just took a short bus journey in. £4.50 for a day ticket. In summary if you value sleep demand you're nowhere near the ground floor corridor. I can't give any more than 1* review because the management clearly know that noise is a problem in some of the rooms, and it ruined my weekend break. Personally I wouldn't stop here again at all.

This Hotel is really excellent . Everything provided to a really high standard, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, courtesy toiletries and polite courteous staff. The breakfast was also excellent . Location is also in very attractive suburbs with an easy walk to Oxford . Would highly recommend and whenever in Oxford, this would be my first choice

Another excellent experience! This is my third visit to this hotel and I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff are very polite and accommodating and are more than happy to help with any questions. Thanks again and I look forward to booking my next trip when I am in the area already.

This review is 100 % genuine. Have stayed here recently and was disappointed with the size of the room and especially the shower being substandard not giving good water pressures. I also didn't find some of the so called management team very professional or friendly. I was also disappointed euth the meals here being a very basic bar type menu which for a supposedly signature hotel doesn't reach the mark by a long way. The parking charge of £10 per night is quite frankly not acceptable. I will not stay here again as there are better value hotels around.

Amazing place with very friendly and helpful staff. A short walk from the town centre and the staff are very helpful and friendly even taking an Uber eats delivery of snacks while out of the hotel. The room is nice and spacious and the bed is very comfortable the hotel does have a large garden that is currently closed for maintenance but the area around the hotel is very peaceful. Recommend staying here again and I will be back.

This hotel deserves more than 5 stars it was utterly wonderful for our overnight stay last night. The staff are excellent so very polite and extremely helpful. The room was very very clean , warm, well equipped and the bed very comfortable indeed. Verywell maintained and all looks newly appointed. Well done Linton lodge I highly recommend this Hotel

Use when we visit Oxford. Clean and convenient. Very good value for money. Staff always helpful. Breakfast good value. Don't eat evening meal at hotel - did so on one visit and was very disappointed - they didn't seem geared up to anyone wanting to eat there in the evening - not a problem as the city centre is very close.

This breakfast is well up there with one of the best I've found. Location of the hotel is amazing and it's so clean inside I just had a standard double but the room was big and clean , the staff are all really friendly and the whole stay was excellent. Highly recommended

I stayed in the Linton Lodge for 2 weeks in September 2023. First week the UK had a heat wave the second was tipical UK weather all 4 seasons in a day. The first week with the hot weather the rooms where very hot no Ac in the rooms or hotel. So any place in the hotel is hot. No firidge in the rooms. The room I stayed in had a moldy wet smell and there where 3 spiders in the room. The spiders where removes only on the Wednesday during the second week. Milk and suger was never replenished in my room. The food in the hotel is not bad but there are better and cheaper places to eat not far from the hotel. Breakfast was avaragr at best. The hotel location is great not to far from the city if you want to walk and outside of the hustle and bustle. Staff is friendly and willing to help.

This was Oxford revisited; I wanted to revisit Ashmolean, Botanic Gardens and Blackwell's Bookshop. I could not afford The Randolph, and new Best Western from Les Rocquettes, Guernsey. Linton Lodge was up to expected standard and affordable, but I needed to use taxis which were reasonably priced. LInton Lodge is clean comfortable and friendly. Good for breakfast b ut not for dinner: explore further for that.

It takes a certain amount of nerve for an hotel to charge its guests to park ,also not to provide water in the room, No extraction fan in tiny bathroom, and no fridge in room. Given that it claims best Western signature collection, I would hate to experience the lower levels. Staff are charming, but many better and cheaper places to stay in Oxford. Certainly won't repeat visit.They make much of the charming gardens, ummm.....

Everything was good, very good breakfast, clean room. But no air conditioning at all, we were sweating at the dinner. Also my room 118, was overlooking a roof on which the ventilation system of the hotel's kitchen is and that thing is very noisy, it was kept on for until about 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning, so I really didn't get a good rest at night and when I complained about the issue in the morning, they simply said “it wasn't switched on”. So because of this I only give 3 stars. And cannot recommend this hotel in hot weather. Wouldn't choose to stay there again. I think Best Western must invest in air conditioning

No air conditioning, truly awful coffee at breakfast. Tired room. Shower not fully clean, dusty cobweb in room. No ability to change any extras to your room. Parking charges for their own car park. Seems like it's gone downhill from last year.

Lovely stay in a great location - easy walking distance to the centre. Breakfast very good - lots of choice and good quality. Spotlessly clean throughout. The staff are very helpful and welcoming - special mention to Nasser on Reception who was a real pleasure to meet.

After having stayed at this hotel in September 2022, and having had a fairly good experience we decided to return. This time around, however, proved to be an even better experience. The hotel is located in a lovely, quiet area which is a pleasant 20-min walk from the city centre. We had booked 3 rooms for the 5 of us and these were situated on the ground floor. Each room was modern and very clean with a good supply of toiletries, as well as tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits. Breakfast was plentiful and well up to standard. The staff at reception, restaurant and bar were very efficient and friendly. This was a most enjoyable stay and we look forward to returning in the near future. We definitely recommend this hotel.

Everything was perfect - the friendly and helpful staff, the peace and comfort of the room, and the delicious breakfast! My only complaint is about the tripadvisor requirement of at least 200 review characters, hence this padding!

Made a late night pitstop here on our way to Oxford. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Nasser especially went out of his way to find us the perfect room and make our stay comfortable.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Josh was amazing and made are stay extremely enjoyable! We stayed with two young children and it was a perfect stay for a family. Breakfast was delicious and the location is combiner if you want to try out punting!

Everyone was professional friendly & helpful. But my favorite was Nasser. Because my husband was there for business, I was on my own for a couple evenings. Nasser helped me pick out items from the menu that suited my diet issues. We had a fun conversation about Oxford while I waited for my for my food.

I arrived tired and exhausted and saw that Flora was suddenly surrounded by a string of guests awaiting her assistance but not one wrinkle crossed her brow. She is a very kind calm and helpful lady who ensured that I was attended to and given the best assistance available. I had a dry throat with exhaustion and thirst and she offered me water, got me a comfortable room and ensured that I had breakfast tomorrow . We had a good conversation about Kosovo and Pakistan and I am so pleased to have been assisted by her. Thank you Flora. BW are truly lucky to have you represent them!

What a charming hotel. Other than comfortable rooms, pretty gardens and great location, what is most outstanding is the welcoming service. I would recommend staying here if service is important to you.

I came to Linton Lodge for a night when the conference I was attending in Oxford ran one day longer than my on-location reservation. I wish I had known about Linton Lodge -- I would have loved to have stayed here for the whole conference! My room was large and very comfortable: large bed, cozy furniture, good TV and internet service. But the real highlight was being able to order tea and dinner outdoors in the back garden! So beautiful and peaceful, as is the neighborhood where Linton Lodge is located: just off the main drag and in a beautiful neighborhood. 100% gorgeous from beginning to end - highly recommend!

A comfortable hotel situated in a decent location. Not far away from city centre. Rooms are good. Breakfast is great with some good choices. Car Parking is available. Staff are very friendly. A special mention about Ioana in the restaurant who is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Pretty good location, it is a pleasant 1 mile walk to the centre (but we saw loads of buses, and hire electric bikes/scooters, so plenty alternative modes of transport if you not up for the trek. Clean communal areas, breakfast gave lots of choice, it was tasty too. Parking is £10 per day then £3 p/h after check out. We managed to find a space on the front of the building on a later Friday night arrival. The room was ok, 2nd floor but they had a lift (the stairs are pretty comfortable to navigate). There were a few spots of staining on the carpet and a chair, but other than that was fairly clean. Room was cold on arrival but there is a plug in radiator which heated it up quickly. TV, kettle tea/coffee, iron, safe. Shower was good - it was slippy though in the tray so be careful! It did leak onto the floor tiles too - so lay a towel down. Would recommend and would return.

A nice clean room at a reasonable cost and a very nice plentiful breakfast. Staff are very friendly with a special mention to Ioana and Naser who looked after us at breakfast. My only criticism would be that car parking should be free for guests.

We've had another great stay at Linton Lodge to see our son at university. Staff especially Josh are so helpful and give great local advice. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent and sets us up for the day. Thanks all.

The staff in this hotel are incredible. They are friendly, helpful and go the extra mile. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Rooms have a safe and a kettle with coffee sachets and tea bags. The breakfast was good too

We stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and it must have had a revamp as it is much more stylish and attractive than it was before. Breakfast was great, a huge selection of items. Good value for money.

The place is wonderful. The rooms are very clean and the staff team is very wonderful. During our stay here we received excellent service from the whole team especially Josh at the reception and Ana at the restaurant. Would definitely stay here again. Keep up the wonderful job!

Recommended by friends so didn't hesitate to book, but after booking I read some of the reviews on here so was dreading it. The reviews couldn't have been more wrong. We had a warm welcome after a full on day at Blenheim Palace which is well worth a visit! We booked an executive room which was warm, clean, spacious and had everything we needed and more! Very large and comfortable bed and a hairdryer that you don't need to keep the switch depressed to use! Buffet breakfast was super with lots of choices including; pastries, cold meats, yoghurt, fruit as well as the well cooked full English. Staff at breakfast were attentive and the dining room really well set out. Yes there were a few ‘tired looking features like the back of the bathroom door peeling. But this is not worthy of a mention or to down grade an excellent stay. Overall a great stay in a great location. Not sure if some of the reviewers here are competitors or if the hotel had a miraculous refurb and change of staff on last few weeks. But we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Despite the hotel clearly not being busy at all my friend and I were allocated what must have been two of the worst rooms in the hotel with terrible bathrooms and overlooking the carpark. The heating was not switched on and the fittings well past their sell by date. This hotel is in a lovely area of Oxford and the original building is full of character but the rooms at the back are getting dire. Not sure when the bathrooms were last refurbished but you have to sit sideways to use the toilet or crack your knees on the shower screen and I'm only 5 foot 7 inches! The bar is now a corridor area outside the restaurant with very poor stock and the guest sitting area is a windowless tiny space with basic furniture. The breakfast offering was adequate but the hot food was of a very poor quality and we were asked to leave before we had finished on both mornings so that the staff could hoover!

Below of all standards. This building has huge problems with air inside. Rooms smell disgusting. There is no sufficient airflow in the room or in the bathroom. Moist and smell of mold is present everywhere. Try to avoid this place if you can.

Disgusting room(feaces on sheets, chain in room spilled, vents unclean) and in an appalling state(bathroom water damaged and. Swollen woodwork) noisy both inside and out and frankly disappointing response from staff when bringing any of this to their attention.

We stayed just the one night as we had tickets to a show in the city centre. Parking is limited so its worth leaving the car at the hotel as you are not far from the centre. It is about a 20 minute walk, £2 bus journey or £5 by taxi. We were recommended the hotel by a memeber of family, not sure I should be speaking to them again. We booked a double room and once all the extras are tagged on the price is nothing like the offers. It came in at about £135 in total so still not bad considering the location. During the following weeks we had a few emails trying to get us to upgrade to an Executive Suite, we didn't take them up on the offer. On arrival we were told that they had in fact given us an upgrade to an Executive Suite which sounded good. First look around the room seemed decent. The room was large with a couple of arm chairs and a large bay window. Only down side seemed to be the carpet which was quite badly stained. All else seemed good so we dropped our bags off and head to the city centre. We got back late and after a long day looked forward to bed. After brushing our teeth the sink wouldn't drain away no matter how much we tried. We left it as it was late thinking it would drain away by the morning. We got into bed and both of us put the bed side lights on except in mine there was no bulb. Not a problem as there was also a small spot light attached to the aforementioned bed side light. I switched it on and got a buzzing noise and a bang but no light. After a decent night's sleep we got up and opened the curtains to be greeted to a used condom just outside our window on the roof. Heading back into the bathroom and I was greeted by the sink still with the water from the night before in it. Unfortunately the heated towel rail didn't work but looking at it there were bits around the cable hanging off. The shower was grim, the fitting around the hosel had come away from the wall and the grouting looked like it hadn't seen a proper clean in a long time. Breakfast was ok. The English breakfast was not very pleasant but the pastries were excellent. I would not bother eating there though and instead head back into town where there are some great places for breakfast.

This is the second time we have stayed here, both times thoroughly enjoyed. Good parking at the front and only a ten minute walk or £5 taxi drive into the city centre. Also just around the corner is a pick up point for the hop on hop off tour bus. The breakfast has to be the best value we have seen for a long while and worth taking

Oxford is a beautiful place and North Oxford (where this hotel is located) especially so. The area is peaceful, fresh, and full of lovely late-Victorian houses. First, the Linton Lodge makes poor use of this beautiful space. The rooms are more like a drive-in motel, with most rooms on the ground floor and over-looking the parking lot!! We had to keep blinds closed the whole time because of car lights and movement of vehicles happening around the clock. The rooms are clean, but basic and the exterior is run down. But - what's worse is the general manager and woman at the front desk. They were highly antagonistic. We had a special request (which was confirmed by the hotel prior to check-in), and was not accommodated by the staff upon check-in. Rather than apologizing and/or accommodating, they were highly antagonistic. After travelling all day and just looking to check-in, the front-desk staff asked for proof of conversations, receipts of messages, and even called in the early-morning (waking us up!) to tell us they will be charging the card (when previously, the accommodation was agreed free of charge). It was stressful, disruptive, and set a bad tone for the day. I will certainly not be returning here, there are many lovely family owned B&B who are much more communicative and kind.

Not worth the money at all. The deputy manager is not familiar with the room. He told me room 6 is with bathtub but it's not when I'm inside. Room not very clean (see pictures). Double bed is small. There's an air-con but they don't give you the remote and saying they don't have air-con and only offer fan. There's no power socket or USB port next to the bed. This is a lodge and not proper hotel as the name said. Keep in mind that this hotel doesn't offer late checkout even if you're diamond select member and book directly. Honest advice, If you're spending £130 to book this room already, pay a little bit more to book the Marriott in town centre.

Staff pleasant, quite clean, breakfast ok. Room large enough, bathroom too small, no aircon. Whole place a bit tired. That said all adequate apart from parking. There isn't enough hotel parking and the roads are permit. Very big problem as there is no other option. Mon - Fri parking is an issue.

What a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive with a relaxed approach which made us feel very welcome. The garden was a huge bonus allowing our little ones to let off steam, and the 11.00 am check-out meant we could eat the delicious breakfast, chill and pack without feeling rushed. Will definitely use this hotel again.

This is our second visit to Linton Lodge and again did not disappoint. Hotel is spotless and in a great location to Oxford City Centre. The hotel is in a quiet location and has its own car park. Even though the location is not in the city centre, it is about 3 bus stops away and within easy access to hotel. Bus stops are located on main road, about a 5 minute walk from hotel. Buses run very frequently and even from town centre of a night, Breakfast with great, with a variety of hot and cold food. First time we visited the restaurant was open, but due to lock down, the restaurant is now closed, however you can order food from outside, which is delivered to hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel and next time we visit Oxford, this is where we will be staying.

Not sure why others have given low reviews this was the perfect hotel, friendly staff, very modern and clean hotel, perfect for my overnight stay in the city. It does a full breakfast now, overall a great hotel. car parking right outside, the bed was comfy and had a fan in the heat, room was prepared immaculate.

Great location being just a 15 minute walk in to the centre of town. Comfy room with a decent bed. It does have parking but not much so it's a first come first served basis which was at times problematic. There is street parking but that's only available at certain times of the day

The hotel was good value, clean and offered a good breakfast.There is secure parking.20-25minute walk into Oxford which suited us but there is a good bus service with a bus stop at the end of the road.We used the sight seeing hop on, hop on bus which also stops on the main road below the hotel.

We were really disappointment with our stay at this hotel on 2nd August when we booked two rooms for our daughter's birthday. We checked in and all seemed OK but on leaving the room a little later to catch a taxi into town we found that the door lock was broken and we were unable to lock our room. When we went to raise the matter with the receptionist we were told that she was the only member of staff on duty so could not do anything. We said we were unhappy with this and her response was to ask what we expected her to do as she was on her own. She couldn't see a problem in leaving our room unlocked. We asked if we could change rooms but were told there were none available. We later checked this and found there were rooms available on the Best Western website so clearly this was untrue. The receptionist advised us to lock our belongings in the room safe – not only was it far too small but this also did not work. At no point did we receive an apology and, interestingly, two further members of staff appeared whilst we were talking with the receptionist, contradicting her statement that she was on her own. We were told one was the manager who said he would try to fix the lock by reprogramming it while we were out. As we had a booking at a restaurant we had to leave and move our belongings into our daughter's room whilst we were out. When we returned we found that, not only had the lock not been repaired, but we could not lock the room from the inside. So that the room would be secure while we slept we had to move furniture in the room to block the door whilst we slept – not ideal from a health and safety view if we needed to get out quickly. We accept that things do go wrong and clearly the broken lock was no-one's fault. That said, we received no offer of help, no apology and were 'mislead' with regards to what staff were on duty and the availability of an alternative room. Had we not had a booking at a restaurant and not wanting to ruin our daughter's birthday celebration, we would have left the hotel and booked somewhere else. We don't expect 5 star facilities and acknowledge that the hotel aims at providing value for money but we do expect to be able to have a secure room and to receive some help when things go wrong.

The staff tried to help wherever they could, regardless of the fact it was me who made the mistake when booking! They have a wonderful service set up with Deliveroo so I could order food from my favourite restaurant and collect it from reception to enjoy in my room. The gardens are beautiful and the hotel is really peaceful and quiet. Shower was amazing and really spacious bathroom and room. I would definitely stay here again.

We were very concerned having booked this hotel and then reading a very unsatisfactory review, needless to say we need not have worried. it was easy to find, we were greeted in a pleasant manor on arrival and our room was what we expected. All very clean and comfortable. We understood there would be a charge for parking if we arrived prior to 15:00 pm and left after 11:00 am. but there was a Park and Ride a few minutes away if necessary. An ideal location with several easy walks into the center or a bus just up the road. Also a short country walk to the Victoria Arms a pleasant pub by the river.

My wife and I were visiting Oxford for a concert and had taken the day off to spend in Oxford. Upon arriving, we did not get the usual pleasantries such as "how was you journey?" or even a "Hello" but "You room will not be ready". We were a little taken aback at such a welcome especially when it was followed with "you'll have to pay for 2hrs parking as it is before 13.00" At no point was this highlighted in the booking and does the hotel really want to tick-off the customer IMMEDIATELY with such a greeting for the sake of £2? Not a good start! The room and the hotel seemed to have been refurbished and at first glance the room appeared in a good state. However, the curtain was hanging of the rail. The toilet roll holder was hanging off as was the showed hear rail. Disappointing considering the price of the stay. Upon returning from the concert we wanted to get some water. It took the barman 45mins and there was only 1 customer at the bar! Breakfast did not fair much better. Having selected our cooked buffet, EVERYTHING was stone cold. I was asked if i wanted it microwaved........! The assistant realised the problem and removed everything from the display. She was however kind enough to bring me a replacement directly to my table. All in all what should have been a nice weekend was tainted by the stay here - such a shame. At least the bus stop is nearby to travel into the city centre. If required i can teach the maintenance staff how to affix fittings to hollow/plasterboard walls FoC as my teachable moment. My wife can teach the kitchen staff how to keep things warm (she's a chef). Not sure what to do about the barman though.....?

This hotel is not Covid friendly. I booked 2 rooms for a get away with friends. They got Covid and 10 days ahead I tried to move to booking. Couldn't so found another couple to come with us. Now Covid strikes again. And again the will not move the booking or refund. When asked if they are advocating I come the reply is “it's up to you”. I will NEVER use Best Western again.

My husband and I had a great stay here. We'd never been to Oxford before and the hotel is ideally placed for exploring the city and surrounding area. It's a lovely walk into Oxford, about 20-30 mins or the bus stop is at the top of the road and the service is very regular and takes about 5 mins. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and polite. We had a lovely room over looking the garden and the bed was comfy. The room was probably small compared to other hotel rooms we have stayed in but it was clean and comfortable and we literally only slept there as we were out all day. The breakfast was great, lots of variety in cereals and pastries etc and a good cooked buffett breakfast. Will definitely stay again if in the area and will recommend to family and friends

Pleasant hotel in a quiet part of Oxford close to local shops and amenities and easy walking distance of Oxford city centre. Pleasant garden which we used once and lounge area of bar which we also used once. Room size was ok for 2 adults and a child sofa bed was comfy but pillows way too soft. Parking was a bonus and staff were friendly and helpful. We did not use the breakfast facilities so cannot comment on them. A little fridge would have been perfect.

As above, just outside town centre in north oxford and 20 minute walk into town, so just right God rooms and friendly staff. Only issue...the hotel has two first floors in different sections so lugged luggage up to the wrong one. On arrival. staff could have been more helpful in directly us accurately to the correct section and set of stairs etc. so not a good start to the visit but all else very good and good value compared with some other Oxford hotels

We arrived to a friendly welcome and a efficient booking in. Our room was clean and in a good location overlooking the garden. After a comfortable nights sleep we went down for a very well stocked buffet breakfast, but the only negative was ,please can you change your supplier of the sausages as they were totally tasteless. On the whole it was a very pleasant stay were the location was quiet residential location and still walkable to the centre of Oxford. We will stay here again on our next visit to Oxford. Good location with easy access to the bus into Oxford. Pleasant staff, comfortable beds although hair on the floor in the bathroom. Free parking permit given to me as a blue badge holder. Very poor breakfast… fried food was cold, American style pancakes and waffles were hard like cement! Choice should not be at the expense of quality!Pleasant dining room though.

Have used the Linton Lodge a lot over the last 2 years. Service is excellent, rooms are clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend anyone staying in Oxford to use this hotel. Thank you team Linton lodge

Myself and my daughter went to Oxford to check out the university she'd been accepted into , we arrived a few hours early and asked if we may park and explore until it was time to check in . The helpful receptionist checked and said our room was ready and we may go to it straight away ! The room was lovely, clean and very comfortable! The breakfast was amazing , lots of choice , all perfectly cooked ! I have to say how professional and kind all the staff we encountered were . Thank you for a wonderful stay and I now know where to come on my next visit to Oxford

The cooked breakfast was a buffet style and the breakfast room was large, the sausages were low quality but they had a nice coffee machine. The location is good as well as there are bus tops close by that go into summertown or oxford main town centre. The room was large with a sofa with cups and saucers. There were only a few negatives why I did not rate it excellent. The room had a sofa which was great but you could only watch TV in bed which meant the evening wasn't as comfortable. They also don't have a microwave which is a shame.

We were so excited to stay in Oxford for the night for a friends birthday. Unfortunately storm Eunice had different ideas- all trains were cancelled, our area was on red alert with 'do not travel' advice. I contacted the hotel immediately to let them know. I did not ask for a refund but instead asked for a voucher to use another time or to transfer to a different date. The woman on the other end of the phone couldn't have been less helpful: she just kept reading their policy back to me time and time again that they don't do refunds on cancellations. I understand this policy, however, at a time when national advice was that we weren't allowed to travel, surely they have an exemptions policy/ can offer some flexibility? Our friends who had booked a nearby hotel (also non-refundable) were told they could transfer their booking to another date. We are now planning another weekend in Oxford later in the year and will not be booking this hotel again.

me and my sister stayed there with a total of 6 children over half term holidays. We were really happy our choice ! Location : very easy buses walkable to the hotel that take you to the town centre in 5 mns. couldnt be easier. Private parking on site is a massive bonus as all very easy. Rooms: we had two family rooms, next to each others. one room even had a sofa on top of 2 double beds - they were clean, functional, tea& coffee& biscuits. Nice toiletries. Everything you will need, no problem there. Breakfast : really a big BRAVO for the breakfast, service was lovely and the food was diverse and excellent quality : Waffles & pancakes the kids devored, smoothies, fresh fruit salad, lovely eggs, great muffins, toasts. It is an impressive breakfast. Service : Really lovely team, very kind and caring. I dont usually write reviews, but there i really wanted to as the value for money and kindness was outstanding. So a big thank you

We booked an overnight stay here. We thought we would treat ourselves, so we booked an executive room. The room was large, dated decor and it needed a really good clean. The cobwebs under the bedside cabinets were abundant, along with the cobwebs hanging over the bed. The carpet looked like it needed a good hoover and the one good thing, powerful shower, but went all over the bathroom floor, make this a slip hazard. It is a shame, because it was a nice location and we would have stayed here again. It was not good value for the hotels tariffs.

Just spent a weekend in Oxford and delighted with Linton Lodge! Everything that you need is there, and the staff were so helpful with any enquiries. Rooms were clean and reasonably comfortable; quiet location and easy access to the centre of Oxford. Meals available, as well as Deliveroo. Breakfast was buffet style and staff worked hard to ensure supplies were well stocked. Hotel has thought of almost everything! Our only criticism, and it applies to so many hotels, is a wish for an extra support handle in the bath/shower; not everyone has 2 limbs or can balance accurately! Still a perfect stopover; will definitely return again.

Took a phone call from this hotel when on my way to staying for a night. It went like this, "Hello, Mr XXXXX its Linton Lodge there is an issue with your room, so we have boarded you out to another hotel 10 mins away?" Me, "No thanks, I pick the hotels I stay at, arrange a refund please, and I will make my own arrangements to find a new hotel." LL, "But you have a discount rate off Booking.Com so we cant just refund you." Me, "that s Ok, I will sort things later, I will send you my bill and the bill for the new hotel. I picked your hotel for the location, I wont be farmed out thanks." The line that breaks down, call back in 5 mins, LL, "Mr T we can find you a room, we will just board another customer." So, this hotel think its OK to call someone and tell they they are taking their room off them, hours beforehand to pass to another customer, or did they get a lie about their own room being unready?.....appauling way to run a hotel.

Stayed there for a surprise birthday present for my wife 4 nights totally recommend this hotel The service and staff could not fault the only thing was there was no evening meal But they told us to use deliveroo not a problem

Excellent place to stay for visiting Oxford. We stayed in an executive room which was extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable and we had no problems sleeping. The staff gave us a very warm welcome.

A warm and friendly feel when you check in. Very light and welcoming reception, bedrooms super with good beds and all the facilities you need. Bar offers good well priced snacks and drinks in comfortable surroundings would happily recommend and stay here again in the New Year

Super friendly staff, clean and well presented rooms. Free parking which is a bonus too! £5-10 Uber trip to Oxford centre / westgate or roughly a 20-25 minute walk. We were surprised how lovely the breakfast was and how much selection we had, including the usual full English breakfast items but also had a variety of pastries, cereals, porridge with toppings and pancakes. Would definitely stay again :)

Lovely hotel.and very accomodating. Only here for a long weekend but the food was delicious and place was clean. Great COVID measures in place too. Bed was comfy enough and the hotel have a taxi service they work with to get to you when needed. Close to town centre to walk too

We were given an awful room with a disgusting bathroom that flooded completely and the water ran into the bedroom. It meant we couldn't use the bathroom and were told tough! The duty manager was aggressive and rude, the whole thing ruined our weekend. It was already late and we had been travelling and were exhausted. The duty manager was unsympathetic even on just a human level and it took a lot of push back from us to say this wasn't acceptable that he eventually did something about it - but he was aggressive and not willing without having us to really keep asking. I would not accept this behaviour after paying so much for a room. Please book elsewhere.

Upgraded on arrival which was lovely. Very friendly staff. Good parking facilities. Pleasant 20 minute stroll into centre of town. Bathroom very small but adequate. Very comfortable beds had a great nights sleep as in a quiet area.

Treating ourselves for a celebration weekend we searched for a hotel with good reviews. We spent extra for an “Executive “ room so we could relax and enjoy time in our room. First impressions were good, reception was efficient and the room appeared clean. Unfortunately we found out later that executive just means bigger in Best Western language. The room was basic with poor amenities provided. Plastic and paper cups for water rather than glass. Ceramic mugs for the instant coffee sachets but wooden stirrers instead of tea spoons. The bed was ok and the room had chairs but no table to put your drinks on. The bathroom was straight out of the seventies with plastic “Half bath” that you couldn't actually lay down in, and cheap loose plastic toilet seat. Worst of all though was the cleanliness of the bathroom, there was scale and mould in the grout and on the floor. Cleanliness should be standard wether executive or not! Oh and our 4 window bay window had a great view of a brick wall… If you want a good location then this would be a good choice, but you will pay an Oxford premium price for rooms that Travelodge do better for much less..! The buffet breakfast was good though. Save your money and book a basic room.

Rooms lovely and clean, expected two single beds but was pleasantly surprised when there was two doubles. Reception friendly, helpful and looked like they enjoyed their job. A lot of car parking space, in front and behind hotel. Lovely gardens behind the hotel.

Great location (convenient, quiet, and on a lovely road), and good for parking, but the hotel itself is tired and badly kept. First room immediately changed as it smelled and was dirty. The replacement room was an improvement, but still had stains on the carpet and walls. Bathroom very tight for space. Breakfast was poor. I'm sorry to say that I would find another hotel next time we are in Oxford.

Friendly and helpful staff. Free parking on site and very close to Oxford city center hence we chose his hotel. we got upgraded to the double twin room, room was very small and under a stair case. Some crumbs on one of the bed, tea stains on the wall by the bin. Breakfast was ok, quite a variety but not the best quality. I would skip the hot food altogether - bad quality sausages, rubbery eggs, soft hash browns, tinned mushroom. It is fine for what you pay for.

Second time to return to this hotel. All staff very pleasant and willingly answered any questions.A great base to explore Oxford on foot. Parking on site a bonus, no extra charge. Breakfast was very good and varied. Cleanliness was very good in room and around hotel. Covid aware. Would recommend staying here. We will certainly use again.

3 nights here on bed and breakfast. Room 22 which in at the end of one of the lower corridors. The room was spotless. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and equally good service here too. You can hear people in the room above if they move about especially at night. Not a criticism, just an observation. The hotel is about 25 minutes walk into the bizz of Oxford. It's situated in a charming residential area. There is an excellent bus service on the main road which is a short walk away. There is no air conditioning which was not a problem during our stay.

This hotel is located not too far from Oxford centre, and many busses get there in a few minutes only. The hotel has a parking, which is the very reason why I chose it. Parking in Oxford is a real challenge. The staff has been extremely nice and smiling, and has helped for any question/request. When I go back to Oxford, I'll go back to this hotel.

I Was impressed with this hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful from reception staff to breakfast and the bar. The room was very clean and comfortable with an excellent desk area and a small sofa with cusions. The bed was comfy with good pillows both firm and softer, good sized TV, plenty of tea coffee etc, bathroom clean and good range of toiletries. The breakfast was good but the hot buffet was a little basic compared to the better selection and quality of the cold buffet which I really enjoyed and the croissants possibly among the best I've ever had. In its price range I would highly recommend it here.

Very well placed, walkable into town. Lots of parking. There's even a lift if you've spent the day walking to and from graduation! The staff were wonderful and friendly. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated. The room was an Executive Double, there was a TV, safe, ironing board etc. Very comfortable big bed, fluffy pillows, lots of towels and complimentary soaps, beverages and water. Breakfast was comprehensive to say the least! Pastries, muffins, pancakes, waffles, cereal and a 'full English' although the other half was a bit miffed as there was no bacon on offer for some reason.

Excellent stay and service Checked in for one night while dropping my oldest off at uni. Check in process was simple. Room was lovely really clean and well presented. Room overlooked the back car park I had booked a twin room as it my myself and my 12 up staying. However room had a super king so not a huge issue. Shower room was clean . However when sitting on the toilet it's a tight squeeze next to the shower screen. Went to the bar for dinner to find the restaurant is currently shut. Not a huge issue as the hotel has deliveries options Sat in the garden on the recommendation of the gentleman working on the bar who was so charming and friendly. Breakfast was buffet style and everything you could ask for was there. Definitely stay again

Pleasant, peaceful North Oxford hotel within walking distance of city centre. Friendly staff, comfortable room, good breakfast. No evening meals but there's a couple of reasonable pubs and an Indian restaurant in nearby North Parade.

Quiet, clean and ideal location in quiet suburb of Oxford. 20 minute easy walk into the Centre. Room was clean and quiet; was fine for the night. Staff accessible and able to give information/ advice re area etc Free parking which was a bonus.

Good location, a gentle 20-30 minute walk to the city centre and all the sites, or take a bus, with plenty passing the main Banbury Road about 250M away. We chose this hotel as it had parking, however although we managed to get a space was always quite full. The room was comfortable and clean, with a nice big shower. It didn't have air conditioning but did have a fan which was needed as it was quite warm even with windows open. Room had tea & coffee facilities, hair dryer and iron. Staff were great. Breakfast was good, however limited options on cooked, with either bacon and tomatoes one day then sausages and mushrooms the next, no vegetarian option. Saying that, there was an excellent selection of cereals, cakes, bread, juices, smoothies, cold meats etc so plenty for all tastes. We really enjoyed the stay and would certainly return if visiting Oxford.

Arrived few hours earlier then check in time, the staff were more then obliging to check if the room was available to check in straight away. which it was yay! They explained the parking charges which was very reasonable, during the stay it free. but every hour parked it 2 pounds which is super cheap for Oxford. The rooms were a good size, unfortunately there no aircon. so bare in mind when you stay in summer it may get very hot, luckily they supply a fan which is sufficient for the night stay, though be wary it no the quietest , but it didn't deter me as was shattered from all the exploring during the day. my onlyy quips was the shower wasn't as clean as I hoped, there few random hairs. The hotel is located not far from the main road into Oxford, they're a plethora of restaurants and bars not too far walk away 10-15mins. It on a quiet residential area, which kept noise to a minimum on the evening walking distance to centre of Oxford or many of the attractions take around 20+ minutes, depends how fast you Walk :) but there a bus stop not too far on the main road. Would I stay again, yes I would as it perfect location with everything you need.

Stayed 2 nights at the Best Western Linton Lodge in Oxfort. This a beautifully clean,modern and welcoming hotel From the the time we arrived every member of staff made us feel welcome. A special thanks to Patricia . The room was not spacious and en suite rather small but the room was very clean and well equipped. The breakfast was fine with a selection to suit everyone. The location is great. There is a bus stop less than five minutes walk with a direct link to the city. I would highly recommend this hotel Thank you Linton Lodge.

Visited here for 1 night with a friend to visit Oxford. Hotel was on a nice quiet road about 20 minute walking distance of Oxford. We checked in online so easier on arrival. Rooms were lovely and clean. Very comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. Blackout curtains. No air con but fans provided. Plenty of tea coffee milk etc. Booked single room but bed was small double so nice surprise. Staff very friendly. Didnt have breakfast as thought rather expensive at £9.50. Would definitely stay here again. Thoroughly enjoyed.

We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Parking on site was an absolute bonus and a pleasant 20 minute walk into the town. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the hotel itself is a very nice building with a lovely garden and we were lucky to have sunshine so we could sit outside and have a drink. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast had a good choice. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Oxford.

Good thing is the free parking. Its a 15 to 20min walk to centre of Oxford. Not a bother for us. Walk is easy. Also v close to university park for a nice walk. Room OK but the bed is very small for a double. We didn't pay for breakfast. Staff nice and helpful.

The room was uncomfortably hot all night. When said to reception the next day they gave us the answer that they know and all the rooms were hot at the moment. It would have been good of them to tell us this at check-in at least or not charge as high prices if they know they had an issue with the heat of the rooms. There was no air-conditioning unit to try and bring the heat down either so spent all night feeling like we were cooking. Unfortunately I would not say that we got value for money on this occasion. The car park was full so we had to park on road with a permit.

The hotel is in a quiet, leafy suburban road. Deceptively small at front, plenty more out back! Efficient, friendly staff. Good amentities, nice garden to relax in. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. We paid a little more and had an executive room, plenty of space, good-sized bathroom. Got there a few hours early and was able to leave the car in the car park for £2 per hour up to normal check-in time (cheap by Oxford standards). About 20 mins walk from the centre (worth checking-out some pleasant ways in away from main roads), or multiple bus services that go down the Banbury Road for a few pounds. There are a few friendly pubs in side roads between the hotel and the city centre which did reasonable food if you don't want to trek all the way back in, though some great eateries in the centre. Overall a very pleasant couple of nights (and days!).

We found the staff extremely helpful, welcoming and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The car parking was free and on site so we didn't have to worry about our vehicle being unsafe. The breakfast was varied with lots to choose from. We enjoyed lovely walks into town across the scenic University Park and our room was well-appointed. This was our second stay here and we would recommend.

Oxford student staying for the libraries and social visit. Really great stay, staff were excellent! Really welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend for the value. The walk into Oxford is under 20-25 minutes and a stunning walk through the best of the town and parks. Great garden to chill in on a hot day, order some food and a beer from the bar. Would recommend

I had booked an executive room as on the hotel website it looked the standard required. I was offered an upgrade to a family executive room. I felt that the room was neither executive or family. The room was tired (209) and did not fulfill the description on the website. This is an industry I used to be involved with and it saddens me to see the guest expectation not met, yes I did question the executive room standard and was told in no uncertain terms that a family executive room had a sofa!! I would not stay in this hotel again and I felt that it did not do the brand justice, Sorry

Great breakfast. Communal areas limited. Bathroom tiny. Room ok but double bed seemed extra small. No aircon in room, just a noisy fan. Staff happy & helpful. Some shirtless fella in the garden having a beer at one point... Pretty basic but clean & quiet.

We occasionally visit somewhere in Jericho and normally stay in the centre of the city. However, as Covid restrictions are lifting, the hotel we have been staying at has become rather more expensive than we were really prepared to pay so I did some searching and found the Linton Lodge hotel which was in a convenient location for us and a good price. We were not 100% sure of what to expect but were absolutely delighted with what we found. Free parking right outside, welcoming staff, lovely decor, a well appointed room with very comfortable bed - what more could you want? The room we had came with a very pleasant sitting area, with one of the chairs being a single sofabed if required. Obviously I don't know if the breakfast offerings had been adjusted for the current restrictions but there was certainly a good variety, something for everyone. Everyone we met was courteous and helpful. I am sure we will return.

The hotel had everything we needed for our family of 4 for 3 nights - 2 comfy double beds in a family room , free WiFi, free parking, amazing breakfast, clean, and great location. We walked into Oxford and back again every day to explore. There were also a good selection of shops for essentials in Summertown nearby, a 15 min walk heading away from the centre. Also a quick drive to Thrupp to hire canoes for the morning. The breakfast was excellent with a huge choice. The kids were in heaven! The staff at breakfast were very helpful and attentive. The car park was small but free parking on the road was so easy, using a permit which we put in the car each morning. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

On arrival, there were no hotel car parking spaces but we were told we could park on the road outside with a permit provided by the hotel, which we did. Check in was quick and easy. We were told we had been upgraded to an executive room for free as it was for a birthday. We were pleased with this. However, the executive room was very basic and had damp marks on one of the walls so I'm curious to know what the standard rooms are like! It did have a very large comfy bed and black out curtains so we got a good nights sleep! When attempting the use the shower the next morning, the temperature would fluctuate from hot to cold but was mostly running cold water. We raised this with reception staff who advised us to run the shower for 10-15 mins before use as the hotel pipes were old. We did as we were advised but this still didn't work. My boyfriend went and spoke to reception again to which a lady came up to our room to check the shower. She wasn't listening to what we were saying and kept saying it was running warm even though it would run cold again a few seconds after. My boyfriend asked if there was another room we could be moved to for a shower but she said they were full and unfortunately that meant the boiler couldn't heat every room in the hotel very well...?! How can a hotel that people pay for not provide hot running water because it is full? It is completely unacceptable. She then said she would check the boiler just incase it was broken but we never saw her again. We were left to have a cold shower or a wash at the sink. We chose this hotel because it was fairly priced and in a good location but we wish we'd have paid that bit extra to be closer to town and have hot running water! It is about a 30 min walk in to town which was fine for us. Overall, the rooms definitely need updating but were kept clean. Although, we were woken up by the cleaner knocking our door at 9am which we thought was overly early to be honest and she seemed unhappy when asked if she could come back later on. It is in a nice location and has a nice small bar area to get drinks from. It did the job for our stay this time but I wouldn't return here and the fact we had no shower with very little help offered is just not good enough.

Really good hotel, needs to improve some things. Amazing reception staff, they are super stars. The cleaners honest try. Quite well decorated rooms. The negative is that the rooms don't have fridge and there isn't a shop close so you could buy quick munchies or whatever. Mobile network some rare times struggling

The staff will go to the extra mile to make your stay comfortable, which in these covid 10 times it means a plus. Reception is smiley and warm, wifi is reliable, the lobby is nice, the restaurant serves basic but tasty meals, beds are comfortable. It is located in the colleges area, 15 mins walking from Oxford centre, and buses every minute take you there. I strongly recommend it.

We received a very warm welcome by the staff when we arrived at the hotel and this great service continued. Our room was spacious and comfortable (executive double), extremely clean and well maintained. The breakfast was plentiful, including a grab bag with lots of treats, plus unlimited coffee, cereal and toast. The hotel was only a 20-25 minute walk from Oxford city centre, only a 10 minute walk from a nice park, and only a 10 minute walk from some nice local restaurants. The parking was free for guests of the hotel. All in all, it was a lovely stay!

At a time of personal tragedy and need this wonderful hotel stepped in to help. If only for two nights without them I'd have really struggled. The hotel is spotlessly clean and safe covid measures in place. Room excellent and comfortable bed.

I stayed here in October for 2 nights. On arrival we managed to get the last spot in the carpark so we were pretty lucky as it wasn't overly big. There were signs saying that you had to pay for the car park, but ignore these as the hotel will give you a ticket to place in your car. Check in was very fast the reception team were very friendly. There was a £20 refundable deposit fee and temperature checks were made in line with Covid procedures. We had a ground floor room on entering it was very clean and spacious. The interior was modern. There was the usual facilities such as kettle, hair dryer, wifi etc. The room also had a small sofa bed. The bed was very comfortable and we managed to get a goods night rest after exploring Oxford. The bathroom was also very clean and modern. The hotel provided small tubes of shampoo/body wash and body lotion. The window view wasn't the best (we looked at a fence, but past that was into a car park) however we wasn't there to sit in the room so it didn't really bother us. The walk to the city centre was about 25/30 min walk, we didn't find it too bad. There was a lovely restaurant about 10 mins walk called the anchor which I highly recommend. Overall a lovely place to stay and would definitely stay again.

The hotel is about a 20/30 minute walk from Oxford city centre and has free parking for your stay. (Roads nearby have 3 hours free if you arrive early/leave later). There are busses that run into the centre and also the 001 cab app is basically like Uber, we used that once and it was very good. The hotel staff are very friendly and the room was very clean and clearly Covid safe. We stayed in an ‘executive' room, it was very dated and needed updating. The bathroom was clearly very old. I'm not sure what made this room executive as it was very basic. The bed was very comfy but the walls are clearly very thin, and we didn't sleep very well as you could hear people moving around/talking etc. If you're just using this as a place to sleep, whilst you explore the city, it's okay (but definitely bring earplugs!) Would I return? Probably not.

We stayed for 2 nights at the hotel and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Rooms included towels, toiletries and everything you would expect (hairdryer/fan etc). Bathroom was small but tasteful and bed was comfortable. My only complain would be the walls were paper thin so you could a lot of movement in the corridor (doors shutting/talking/movement) but we couldn't hear anything from the rooms either side of us. Lovely walk into town and lots of lovely houses nearby

We were upgraded on arrival which was great. The room was good size and clean also had everything including toiletries,hairdryer and iron. Breakfast was good not the usual cooked but hot sandwhich and toast also a bag with fruit pastries and juice which was great. Staff were pleasent and helpful. I would definitely visit again and would recommend this hotel

We were extremely happy with our stay. All the staff worked hard to keep us Covid safe. It as a bonus to have a continental breakfast with a hot sandwich given the Covid restrictions and an additional grab and go bag with extra fruit cakes and juices etc - We were very grateful given many hotels do not offer and breakfast! Thank you.

Stayed here a few times as its walking distance to Jericho and the city plus free parking , well equipped clean rooms, friendly receptionists and staff and nice big bar area plus a garden in the summer . They also have very good Covid precautions and it's good value ! Top place and I will keep revisiting .

From the moment me and my other half stayed (just one night) we were made to feel at home. The receptionist (a lovely lady) was so lovely. The room was clean and tidy. We forgot our toothbrush and the night reception (a young man) gave us a toothbrush. I also asked if he had any conditioner but he didn't have any behind reception. We later came out for a cigarette and he stop us and passed us a bottle of conditioner. It's the small things but will defo will be going back. Thank you for a lovely experience.

I was lucky to stay at Linton Lodge while working in Oxford as a key worker in the NHS. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff are exceptional! Kind and caring doesn't even cover it! They went out of their way to make sure we didn't want for anything and helped in any way they could to make our stay the best it could be in trying and tiring times. Thank you doesn't quite cover how wonderful all the staff are and how hard they all worked during this crazy time in our lives! I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone.

We stayed on a Sunday evening as part of a multi city trip. We parked up easily and check in was simple. Our temperatures were taken and hand sanitizer stations were positioned all around the hotel. Our room was clean and spacious. Our only concern was that the window opened into a pathway to the garden and the car park. So people walking by or parking were quite loud. That said, it happened once during the afternoon. We never heard anything after that. The room was well equipped, safe, iron and board, tea and coffee facilities. The tv was large and we liked the room. The bathroom was spotless and had been sanitized. The toilet is even sealed after cleaning. The staff were lovely on reception and any staff we encountered in the corridors were friendly. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk into the centre. Worth considering when booking. We enjoyed the walk through the park and streets as we explored Oxford. Definitely a hotel I would recommend and would return to.

The hotel is close to city center, has a bus stop close, firendly staff and carring, they also have a lovely garden on the back where you can relax, clean rooms and bathroom, in a nice and quiet place.

We recently visited Oxford and found this an ideal location it's on the bus route if you don't want to drive in. The staff made us welcome and safe during these strange times we made use of the grab and go breakfast . We have stayed with this brand before and always find them to be of a great standard of quality and value

An absolute gem of a hotel. For me this was ideally located for everything. Situated in a very quiet residential area and a 30 minute walk into Oxford I couldn't have landed more fortuitously. Nice garden to sit out in and enjoy a drink from the bar or eat your meals. 10 minute walk to local conveniences including a M and S food hall, and obligatory supermarket ‘local' shops. 10 minute taxi ride to JR hospital. The hotel have been very considerate providing a microwave in the hotel bar for reheating food which was most welcome to give your Deliveroo food a blast or prepare your chicken ting. Great rooms which were spotlessly clean are nicely furnished. It's not your Uber trendy boutique hotel room like Malmaison but they don't pretend to be anything but a high quality family run hotel with nice finishing touches. There attention to detail and levels of cleanliness made me feel safe during the current pandemic. Amazingly friendly and obliging staff that couldn't do enough to help and for me and overall a hotel that ticks all my boxes because of the personal touch. I look forward to my next visit. The hotel itself is rather nice. It has its own parking but parking space is very limited, may be already occupied. Personel is friendly. It is rather far from all the places you want or may need to visit: Oxford itslef, reastaurants, pubs, shops, etc.

Great hotel just on outskirts of Oxford easy walk in to the city. Excellent staff food great would go back again. Parking is free for your stay but only down side arrived 1.5 hrs early for check in and had to pay for parking for the 1.5 hrs.

First time staying here and I thought it was very good. The rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. The hotel is in a good location between the main part of town and Summertown in the north. The parking was a bonus. Staff were very friendly and helpful and organised breakfast boxes for us to take away as we had to leave very early in the morning. If you want a place to stay in Oxford that is walking distance into town but doesn't cost a fortune then this is a great choice.

Very quiet location in Oxford residential area. Clean and welcoming, free parking which is a definite plus. Close to bus routes and about 30 minutes walk to the centre of Oxford. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. A Vegan could have a decent breakfast!

Firstly, the hotel itself is very nice, clean, recently decorated with free parking. I was booked on a package that included a £15 evening meal allowance, prepaid by my employer. Upon arrival I discover that the restaurant is no longer serving evening meals and the hotel has a contract with Deliveroo and the menu is in the room. I asked at reception if they paid the £4 delivery charge as I had prepaid for a meal, only to be told that the £4 comes out of my prepaid allowance and I have £11 to spend for which I can have a burger or order something else and pay the difference. I ordered a Lamb Madras which was very good but when it arrived I was given the takeaway bag with the container of curry and the container of rice. No offer or sight of a plate or cutlery to eat it with. Luckily I had a plastic spoon in my bag so I could sit in my room and eat it. So the meal came to £13.70 according to the receipt in the bag but reception charged me £18.60 so it looks like the hotel add a further 90p charge to the £4 deliveroo fee ?? I am not worried about a couple of pound, just the principle that I wasnt expecting to have to pay more and eat out of containers balanced on a hotel room desk, using a plastic spoon that I was lucky to have with me when booking a meal deal.... Breakfast was very good and apart from the meal I had no issues with the hotel. Just be aware of the new evening meal policy

We stayed here for 3 nights February 20th/23rd. The room was very comfortable and clean we had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful . Breakfast was very varied and substantial and the restaurant staff were attentive. Our evening meals were also delicious.

Stayed with several friends for 1 night. Far exceeded all our expectations. Modern decor, helpful staff, very clean, decent size bedroom and very comfy bed. Also a good sized garden at rear. All at an extremely reasonable price. The restaurant is no longer serving evening meals and we didn't eat breakfast there, so can't comment on the food. It is located in a quiet, pretty residential area with an easy walk into the centre of Oxford. Definitely recommend.

We visited this hotel for a one night stay last night. Myself and 8 friends. 1 single and 3 double rooms booked The double rooms consisted of two nice size double beds. Very reasonably priced. The rooms in my opinion were very clean, the bedding immaculate, beds extremely comfortable and all staff were friendly and very helpful.

This hotel was perfect for us. It's about a mile from town, a nice walk either on the main road, or if you use Google maps follow the side roads and go through the park. The hotel is relaxed and friendly, breakfast is buffet style and it is regularly topped up. It has a bar, which we enjoyed as we spent all day in Oxford and relaxed with a drink on our return. All the staff we meet were professional and friendly, we'd definitely stop here again.

A bit out of town but very comfy. Quiet rooms in residential area. I got to the hotel early morning, way before check in time, but was given a room right away. Room was clean and warm, large comfortable bed. Breakfast was good, desk service friendly and helpful. Close walk to he river Thames.

Attentive staff, comfy beds, bar open all night if required. Great location. Set in a residential location but with easy access to town centre. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Rooms with tea/coffee etc.

The Restaurant menu is very limited with an average cost of £18.50 for all main courses. My son had the lobster ravioli which was more like a starter and not very tasty. The staff simply shrugged when I asked about it. Very poor. Although the room wasn't cold it was still cool which may be uncomfortable for some. Overall 3 stars as the Front Desk staff were friendly and efficient.

The hotel was perfect for what we needed to visit our son in his college. Location was close. check in was quick, room was clean and breakfast good. Check out was 'express', so also quick and easy. Bathroom was clean and well lit. Only niggle is that we arrived at 12:30, so were asked to pay for parking at the hotel until check in time (3pm). I realise that parking is limited, but as check out time is 11am, it means that everyone in the hotel has to pay for parking between these two time slots.

Visited here for 2 night short break. Used Best Western Plus before at another location so new what to expect. Plus points were it's location. Short bus ride at the end of the road took you into town. Room was clean and warm and quiet However, we found the bed to be ok but not Premier Inn standard A bit “used” The cold tap on the bath was not working The breakfasts were plentiful but barely warm from under lights. We ate at around 9, breakfasts till 10.30 so not late. Disappointing as other Best Westerns were better.

Very friendly and attentive staff. My son and I had a great experience. The room service was great and very food value. The breakfast, amazing. The breakfast catered for every food choice from vegan to meat.

We had booked a double room for 2 nights but on arrival were given an upgrade to an executive room. The hotel is in a traditional building on a quiet road in North Oxford but has a clean modern decor inside. There is a lot of modern art and it was clean. Our room was spacious, had a king-size bed, desk, easy chair, flat screen TV, iPod dock, lots of sockets and USB charging points. There was an iron and ironing board, hairdryer and a safe. The restaurant serves freshly cooked food and there is a good choice at breakfast. It was only a 10-15 minute walk into town centre. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful.

I asked for a nicer room than the single I booked and was given room 101, a really lovely double room which overlooked the garden. It had a really nice layout with the bathroom up a few stairs with a gallery style bannister and overlooked the park. All staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed dining in the restaurant too. Service was very good and food was tasty and well-presented.

We only stayed for one night at this hotel. Linton Lodge sounded a bit old fashioned but I was very pleasantly surprised by our room. We were upgraded to what was described as an executive room. It was very large and modern with a lovely seating area overlooking the garden. The hotel is on a quiet road in Oxford about a 10 minute walk from the centre. We had a very good night's sleep in the enormous bed. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with a good choice of hot or cold items. I found our room and other parts of the hotel to be immaculately clean and all of the staff we spoke to were very helpful.

This is the eighth time I have held a carol concert at this hotel and about this time next year I will be reporting on the ninth time. The service is excellent as is the food, thank you to Keith and Anca for your attention to detail, professional service and friendly advice. The room my wife and I stayed in was spacious and spotlessly clean and better than some four star hotels we have tried. For an hotel this close to the city centre it is very reasonable priced with free parking a bonus.

First of all the good points, we found the Breakfast and staff very good, the Breakfast Buffet was as good as we have had anywhere. The location was also very good, a pleasant 20 minute walk into the city. It was a bonus to be able to park the car up and forget about it. Now the not so good, i realise now that there are upgraded rooms at the hotel, and to be fair i never looked on the website, however the standard room we stayed in i would say is a bit of a let down if that is the standard Best western are trying to portray. Our room was very dated, dull furniture and carpets, a floor that creaked like you were in a Horror movie, a very musty aroma when you walked in, we had the windows open all the time we were there. The Bathroom was very basic, the shower was not that powerful but we coped, to finish on a positive the towels good and the bed linen did seem clean.

We stayed here for three nights during a recent visit to catch up with family living in Oxford. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area off the Banbury Road, and only a 5 minute bus ride from the city centre, giving access to the historic university colleges and compact city centre. A short walk away from the city leads to the equally pleasant Summertown area, a leafy residential suburb with some excellent independent shopping. We had a spacious ground floor room to the rear (No.3) which overlooked the quiet garden area. We generally managed to use the hotels own parking to the front or rear, but free on street parking is available on Sunday's only (resident parking generally in operation). The hotel is well appointed with the main dining area, quiet seating and lounge bar all close to the reception. The breakfast selection was an excellent combination of hot and cold buffet foods with lovely staff on hand to assist. While all the hotel staff very pleasant, special mention goes to Fatima on reception who greeted us and was always on hand to offer a variety of cakes !!. Overall the hotel represented excellent value for money in a super location to access the city. We will be back in the future.

We had the executive room and found it very comfortable. There was more than enough room and the extra chair and mini lounge area made it that much more inviting. The bed was excellent! Firm but hugely comfortable. Choice of pillows and the room was comfortably warm. The bathroom was also well stocked and while I'm not a big fam of shower curtains, the water pressure and temp was great. The coffee and tea facilities were more than generous. The breakfast was also plentiful and varied. The service staff were friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely fabulous stay there. Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms lovely and clean, with amazing big bed. Even though it was Christmas the staff didn't mind working and couldn't do more for us. We will definitely stay here again.

The choice of buffet style breakfast items is better than most hotels ever stayed in. Free car parking is a bonus in Oxford and a pleasant walk into the city centre. Stayed for 2 nights, easy check in & out, tastefully decorated room, good Wi-Fi & breakfast. Shower could have been more powerful & I missed the luxury of a soak in a bath but all good otherwise. Would stay here again.

We stayed one night at this hotel in an upgraded room which was well appointed and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant. The menu was small but the food was good and fairly priced. What stands out at this hotel is the friendly and attentive service throughout. It is on an easy bus route into the city and we would certainly stay there again.

Received a warm welcome from receptionist on arrival. Room clean and of a good standard. Bed comfortable. Still able to have food even though arrived at 9 p.m. Staff courteous and helpful. Food reasonable prices. Breakfast good generous selection. One criticism is that the chicken sandwich eaten had very little chicken being mostly mayo, although good presentation. Would stay again.

The service was friendly and efficient. The room temperature control was just right - no adjustment needed. The breakfast was fabulous - a wide choice of fresh hot and cold food and beautifully presented. The rooms were very quiet - mine was out the front but the traffic did not bother me at all.

Room 25 faced the back of the hotel and was quiet and cosy on a cold night. Comfy bed, good shower and nice toiletries The tea tray was also good with nice biscuits and hot chocolate. We ate in the restaurant which was very pleasant and good service. I must also mention the very friendly receptionists. Good, free Wi-Fi. Breakfast was fabulous with lots of choice. Altogether a very pleasant stay.

This hotel is very nice and friendly. Girls at reception very helpful and professional, and friendly at the same time. Rooms are comfortable, with everything. Exactly as expected from a best Western. Not fancy, maybe less charming than the area average, but very clean, which is not exactly everywhere in the area

When we stepped in, it felt like we were in central Europe instead of the UK. We were tricked by the "upgrade" to the second floor room. They are attic-like room with very low ceiling. On the first night we bumped our heads on the ceiling several times, so we asked for a change of room. They gave us literally 10 minutes to pack our bags before calling to say we're too late, the new room has been given to another guest. There were 8 pillows on the bed, ALL of them were old, clumpy or flatten. Sofa was aged. Linens were yellow. For 3 nights we stayed, tea/cookies were never replenished. While the bed was made, our shoes were kicked around, scattered on the floor blocking the already narrow walking path. Front staff lady didn't look like she wanted to be there. Interactions with her were always curt, passive aggressive and emotionless. Borderline rude. Never a smile. It's as if we are begging for free stay. Overall unpleasant stay. The only good thing is the location, which you can find plenty similar places around town.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is situated close to the city centre easily accessible by bus or on foot, if you are up to a 15 to 20 minute walk.

I recommend this place for any first time or solo ( woman) traveller as it is very close to the bus stop and well connected to the rest of the places. The hotel staff is very courteous and always ready to help you with your travel, sightseeing and shopping plans. The breakfast is sumptuous and filling and is served at their restaurant which is open and frequently visited by outsiders. Hence, freshness and quality of food can be guaranteed.

The Hotel is located in a quiet street about 2 miles from the City Centre. There is a frequent bus service from the end of the road and banks restaurants and local shops are only a few minutes walk away. The breakfasts offer a wide range to suit any taste and the evening meals are nicely cooked and presented. On site parking free of charge with voucher issued at reception. Staff are friendly and eager to please. Top tip book an executive room for those added comforts

I and my wife stayed there overnight on a Friday night. It is a convenient location in a fairly plush part of the city. Generally good, but the radiator in our room did not function, and the receptionist downstairs could not fix it. We had a cold night. Breakfast was good.

The Best Western is an excellent hotel. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is help yourself with a good variety cereals, fruit and hot breakfast foods. Hotel is situated about 20 minute walk from the city centre, or hop on a bus from the main road. We have stayed a few times here, when bringing daughter back to Uni. - Check in is 3pm and check out is 11am - but staff very friendly and flexible.

Having a few days away in Oxford and Bath and found this hotel by chance as everywhere was heavily booked. We were very pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. Spotlessly clean and modern with very efficient friendly staff and a fabulous breakfast all included. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a family room so 2 double beds instead of twins. The hotel is a five minute walk to a bus stop and a 10 minute bus journey to the centre of the city making it very handy for sightseeing. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and would stay again/reccommend to friends and family!!

Greeted by friendly receptionist who gave us a permit as the car park was fill. Lift is very weird, you have to open a door to get into it. I chose the stairs after that experience. Good, quiet location, although the church bells opposite ring on a Sun morning. There is mo aircon and the restaurant and our room were sweltering. There is a fan in the wardrobe which we had on constantly. Pillows were uncomfortable but the worst bit has yet to come. When getting out of the shower I went to dry myself and the towel was used and filthy! It has black marks and toothpaste stuck all over it. My husband and I had to both share the same towell. I'm the morning the cleaners were talking extremely loud from 7.30am outside our room and banging toilet seats so don't expect a lie in. Breakfast was good and apart from the towel and the quilt cover underneath being stained yellow it was spotlessly clean. Good location, we walked 25mins into the city centre as we were going to the theatre. Not sure I would stay here again on hot weather.

Ideal location for a conference. Easy quick check in and inviting lounge/ bar area to unwind each evening. Delicious breakfast with plenty of healthy options. Coffee was excellent. Will stay at here again as easily accessible to town but quiet area near the river. Really worth walking around nearby.

We stayed at Linton Lodge Oxford BEST WESTERN hotel for o my 1 night for a wedding. We will come back. They prepared our room early for us and communication was good. Our room was upgraded to executive who h was spacious with robes,toiletries,water etc. Bed was comfortable and breakfast very good. Vegetarian choice was good.

located very close to the city center and Banbury road. The rooms and beds are musty and in dire need of renovation, especially the washrooms. Worst thing is that there are no mixer taps in the washrooms - a nightmare during winter months

Swift check in, we were given a room upgrade which was unexpected, but very nice. Room was spacious with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast, with very courteous staff. Only a short taxi journey out of town in a quiet location.

We booked two executive rooms for a weekend away with friends. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and were checked in very efficiently. The rooms were small and no different from an ordinary Premier Inn room, except they were more expensive. There was a small table with one chair so one of us had to sit on the bed. The bathroom was tired and needed work. The bed was comfortable. We went to the bar area for a pre dinner drink and although it was wet and windy all the windows were open. There were no staff present so we shut the window next to us. When the staff member returned to the bar area she glared at us and opened it again! We asked another staff member if it could be shut and she did it with a smile which invoked further displeasure from the surly bartender. Dinner was ok but we decided not to eat there again due to the small choice. Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly. On our return to Oxford we will seek alternative hotel due to overpricing of disappointing rooms.

I stayed here for a local conference. The staff were fabulous and acted with friendliness and professionalism at all times. The room was very clean and spacious! I will definitely think to use best western again! Thank you

I've worked in Customer Service for a large portion of my career, but it was genuinely delightful (and a first) to be greeted late at night with a 'Good evening Andy' as I was the last guest to check in for the evening and the reception staff had guessed my identity even though I had never visited this establishment before. As with all the best customer service, the staff within Linton Lodge were attentive without being obtrusive. Very quiet considering how busy it was, no extraneous noise, and all facilities were very clean and in tip-top condition. It demonstrates excellent management of the Hotel and I would highly recommend it for Business travel or for longer trips for those who are visiting Oxford. A professional and very competent organisation. Thank you!

Booked the Linton Lodge Hotel as it was quite close to Oxford city centre, in fact it was a pleasant 20 to 25 minute stroll with a few places you could stop off for a bit of light refreshment on the way. Check-in was very quick and we provided with an on-street parking permit to allow us to park outside the hotel. There are limited spaces in the hotel but we didn't manage to get one. Not an issue though. We were upgraded to an Executive room upon arrival which was very nice. We were located in room 116, just off the stairwell. Room was absolutely fine, with a very large comfy bed. Room was very large too, with a side view to the garden. Breakfast was excellent!! Plenty of choice, hot and cold food and very efficient, helpful staff. Really impressed. Check-out was easy and after a nice chat with the reception team, we left for the day. Would certainly go back to the hotel should we visit again and would recommend it to anyone wanting to see the lovely city of Oxford.

The booking system duplicated my booking for 1 double room to 1 double and 1 twin with breakfast (I never book breakfast) and the assistant manager refused to accept that I hadn't made this booking. He was arrogant aggressive and intimidating. I insisted that he brought the manager to deal with my issue which he did eventually and I was offered (by the manager) a 50% refund against 1 room price.

We were a bit concerned when we saw the lack of parking at the hotel but quickly realised that there was plenty at the rear as well. Check in was smooth and quick and the room was modern and clean with all the necessary amenities. The area is nice and felt very safe. We did not end up having a dinner here, but breakfast was good. Would recommend as a very good option for accommodation in Oxford.

Very nice hotel at affordable prices - in a quiet side street and close to all the sights of Oxford. Breakfast was fantastic with everything your heart desires. For once, I slept without interuption - due to the fact that the curtains literally closed our ALL light! - Would love to come back for more than one night's stay.

First time I've ever tried sleeping on the floor in any hotel, anywhere. It was simply too hot in our room to lie on the bed, whereas on the floor I could position myself beneath the window, which helped a bit. There was no a/c, the bathroom heating seemed to be jammed on, and the small desk fan provided was of no use. The day had been merely summer-warm, by no means scorching, but even though we had the windows wide (after fiddling for ages with the security catches) the room was unbearably hot. It didn't help that the bathroom extractor-fan didn't work. Plus, the room was so small we sat sideways on the loo. The floor proved to be very hard. Nice, courteous staff, though. Pretty reasonable breakfast. Free parking. Lovely neighbourhood. Just too hot, and too small.

I arrived to be told I had been upgraded to an executive room which was at the front of the building and meant I could open 4 small windows which helped as the room was warm and the fan provided didn't cool the room well. Bed is comfortable, the bathroom could do with an update and the water pressure could have been better. The breakfast was as lovely as always, I liked the fact they have started to have fresh milk on tables. There is bread but wonder if offering rolls might be something to think about. The staff were all really friendly and helpful.

Though we had our reservation confirmation email for two, they said it was for a single. And their single would really only be suitable for our single old shepherd-mix dog. (She doesn't move around much and is a little cold-natured.) Smaller than many walk-in closets, there was no cross-ventilation and just a tiny desk fan. I gave it two stars instead of one because 1) it was clean 2) they had no control over the horrendously hot weather. But my advice is to avoid at all costs during hot summer months. Choose a park bench instead.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were fantastic and keen to please. The only downfall I could see to this establishment was the lack of draught beer available in the bar, this was very disappointing as we had to go out every time we wanted a drink. If not for this the hotel would most certainly have earned 5 stars.

This hotel does not communicate via email. Staff speaks very poor English (they are kind though), you have to make sure they get the message. Hotel manager just does not come out to solve problems! Rooms are extremely narrow, you have to know that before arrival! Anything else is a matter of taste!Location is good, so the street is very silent but if you have loud Chinese neighbours, you will not sleep that's for sure! Bring a hair dryer, because what is in the room is rather a hair-cooler! No AC, so do stay here on warm summer days!

The Linton Lodge was value for money during our 3 night stay. Their service staff was polite, warm and accommodating making us feel at ease. Rooms were clean, and there was a decent spread for breakfast. The lodge is centrally located, about 20-25 mins walk to the city and is easily accessible to buses and taxis. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it.

We got an upgrade to an executive room. The room was spacious and had enough electric sockets. However there are some things they could improve. There is room enough to put in a minibar for one. Also the full carpet in the bedroom should be changed to wooden flooring. The bathroom is large but the sink has no space to put your items. A little cabinet or an extra shelve should do the trick. The room lacks also a hairdryer. The mattress is nice to lay on but if you sleep with to people you can feel every movement of the other. Staff They were very friendly and helpful and when we asked for plasters or an adapter they offered us this free of charge but none of them seem to be working there for long. So sometimes it was a bit unprofessional because they still needed to learn. Breakfast. It was for us included but at the last of the four days they suddenly wanted to know if we would like to pay for a continental or English breakfast. In that room is only one buffet so I wonder how they would ever know if someone took an egg or a sausage if they had only payed for the continental breakfast. We always took the English one. Making a difference in sorts of breakfasts that are not served at the table is something they should get rid of. Bar The bar is open 24h and has a nice variety of things on the menu. The bar food they serve is really nice and a good quality. Always nice if you arrive to late for the restaurant to have a bite. The hotel is on 1.2 km from the centre and is very peaceful. We would recommend this hotel still because of it's charmed and beautiful rooms. Also the friendliness of the staff is a real plus.

Firstly the staff were friendly, some had difficulty with some English but overall pleasant and polite. The room wasn't bad but the bed and pillows were very hard, didn't sleep much. The room was a bit airless, as the window overlooked the rear car park and on the ground floor you couldn't open it very far. There was a fan but it was not a lot of use. People smoked in the car park so despite being a no smoking hotel you often got smoke in your room. Delivery vans parked outside the window with radios blaring so any chance of a peaceful hour in the afternoon was gone. A pity as it is well situated in a quiet residential area not far from the city. I don't think we will be returning.

Good location, just a short bus ride away from the city centre or Park & Ride. Limited free parking at the front with additional space at the rear. Friendly EU staff on front desk (please stay after UK leave EU). Clean with good services and everything you need in a room except for air-con. On the hottest nigh of the year the fan, appreciated, was just not enough.

The hotel is located about a mile away from Oxford city center. It is easy to get there either by bus or by foot. The hotel has a very good breakfast, and offers lunch and dinner too. The stuff is friendly. (In regard to the questions below: there is an iron and an ironing board in the room, and the hotel has parking spaces for the guests)

We booked 3 nights at Linton Lodge Hotel with our friends for a short break. We choose this Hotel for the accessibility and good parking so we could get the bus in Oxford as my friend is registered disable. Although the rooms were quite small they were very clean and all the staff were very friendly. We booked the Bed and Breakfast with an evening meal. OH DEAR ! The first night you choose from a set menu which was in the price with 2 or 3 options. I choose the Fish and Chips which were well over cooked I complained the waiter was very apologitic. But no replacement was suggested. The next evening we all choose from the alcarte menue where we had a allowance of £20. Not much better. The Breakfast was OK but the fried eggs where there so long as was the black pudding they had a crust on them. The presentation of the food is a lot to be desired. However as I have said before the staff were very friendly.

We were very disappointed with our stay, The bathroom was so small and the location of the toilet was totally unsatisfactory. The room was very clean but very hot even though we had no heating on. The dinning room staff could do with more training in customer relations also front of house. On both mornings when we went down for breakfast we were informed that our name wasn't down or payment wasn't registered. We informed the three staff members if they checked with reception they would be informed we had paid. When this was finally checked with reception no apology was forthcoming. Perhaps the staff had an issue understanding our Australian version of speaking English. We wouldn't recommend this hotel. Denis

we stayed for one night. The hotel is in a quiet area of Oxford. The room was small but good beds. The bathroom is a small as well with a shower. Breakfast was Standard for this type of hotel. Some waiters were not able to understand an English question. Overall OK as we did not expect more from this hotel type.

Stayed here last year and had three nights there this year. Twin room which was pretty small, as was the shower room. The shower itself was excellent; beds comfortable. Breakfast disappointing heavy ceramic lids on serving dishes difficult to lift, bacon dried out and inedible on two of the days but good on one Hash browns over cooked and dried out. Other guests critical of the breakfasts too Large group of us had dinner there one night. Disappointing and likely not to return. Pity as it is in close proximity to Wolfson Dining room staff very friendly and helpful and clearly hard working.

We had a great stay here. Loved the room and the amenities. The area was a bit of a hike into town but very accessible to the bus lines. We walked into town via the canal which was very nice and also visit the Cherwell Boathouse which is just around the corner. Both of these were the highlights of our visit to Oxford in general and so close to the hotel. Breakfast was very good. I agree with other reviewers as to the location of the toilets in the rooms, a shame the placement was not better but the features were very modern. Sharing some photos to give a better idea as to what you can expect. Great value and a good option for Oxford which was very pricey.

Stayed at the Linton Lodge with friends for a few days revisting some old haunting grounds. The hotel is conveniently situated approx. 4 miles from the city centre and a short walk from a busy bus route. There is ample parking on site. The accommodation and hotel is well presented and the buffet breakfast is very good. There is a small bar and lounge area. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. No restaurants or pubs nearby. Would book again if visiting the area

Stayed two nights with very good food at both breakfast and dinner. Room good size and comfortable bed. It is in a quiet location. The hotel is in a walkable distance from the city centre through the Parks if you wish or a bus service is 200 yards away but it's fairly expensive at £2 each single. In a residential area with no nearby shops. Free car parking but only after 3pm and till 11am so don't arrive early or leave late or you have to pay. There is some limited free parking outside for up to 3 hours.they don't have a private function suite, but the dining room served the purpose for our reunion, though not ideal as some others were in there.

The hotel in itself is clean and the rooms perfectly adequate (though a fridge would have been a nice touch). On arrival (2 hours before our check in time) we were told that despite being hotel guests for 2 nights we would have to pay to use the hotel car park for any time parking before our check-in time. The hotel reception staff team were dismissive in their explanation which created less than a good first impression. Thankfully there was adequate on-street parking, but unfortunately on returning to the hotel in order to attempt to park on site, there were no free parking spaces. This looks like a cheeky way of the hotel attempting to make even more money from its customers, and it certainly didn't make us feel at all welcomed here.

Very nice hotel. A much better upgrade for Best Western, since our bad visit at another branch over a year ago. Very nice a clean hotel with very polite staff. Our room was very comfortable with two double beds. (We had one each). The garden area isn't amazing but it's still a nice place to sit in and relax for some time. If you're visiting Oxford as an exploring adventure, this is a perfect location. Just up the road is a bus stop, where within 4 minutes you're in the town Centre. Or you can have a lovely stroll for 20 minutes. We had a lovely stay here. (Sorry no photos of the room)

Myself and my husband stayed here as I took part in the Oxford Town & Gown 10k. The hotel was close to the park where the race started. It's a nice walk into the city centre but we did get a cab back after walking around all day. The hotel has a few free parking spaces and we managed to find a space. On Sunday the parking is free on the roads. The reception was clean and the staff were welcoming. Our room was upgraded. The room was basic but very clean with everything you need. Our room looked over the hotel garden. The breakfast was self service. There was a good variety of foods but no bacon. The coffee was from a machine. I had a mocha which was really nice. The hotel offers good value for money. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again for the 10k run.

We spent a few days in Oxford (Thursday 25th – Monday 29th April) and stayed at the Best Western Linton Lodge hotel situated 1½ miles from the centre of Oxford. It is situated in a very prosperous area; we had some time to spare before we left and strolled around the immediate vicinity and saw some magnificent houses. Also, it is a short walk from bus stops with a frequent service into the city. We used the buses quite a lot although they do not accept our Welsh bus passes. The hotel itself is very pleasant, our room (No.204) was an attic double-room with a small window overlooking the garden. It was very quiet and had all of the facilities that one expects. Family members stayed Saturday night in an Executive room (No. 114) which was superior to ours. Breakfast were the usual buffet arrangements, the plates and food should have been hotter than they were. All of the staff were very friendly, accommodating and cheerful.

Always nice to get away from the chains and stay somewhere with a bit of character. Linton Lodge is in a quiet residential part of Oxford, it's a short walk to the local shops and some interesting bars and restaurants (including a Michelin starred eatery). Staff are welcoming and friendly, the warm nibbles on the counter were a lovely touch (I particularly enjoyed the warm brie with fig jam parcels). Rooms are a good size and have all the 'quirks' you'd expect for a building that has been converted from houses. Our room overlooked the rear gardens, which also happened to back onto Tolkiens house. Buffet breakfast has a modest selection but the quality is better than average. Coffee is from one of those bean to cup machines, which is ok, but they seem to be becoming ubiquitous at hotels in this price point. Parking is very limited, was lucky enough to get a space. Would certainly stay again.

The hotel was ideally placed for touring Oxford and surrounding areas. The rooms were clean spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional. Unfortunately the 1 evening meal we had was disappointing also the lack of certain drinks at the bar. The staff were very friendly.

An enjoyable stay at this Best Western Hotel, certainly worth a 3.5* rating. Located in a quiet residential road, a short walk from the main road which lead to the City Centre (20 mins walk) and bus stops close by. Easy efficient check-in, Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, good natural light, tea & coffee, iron, hairdryer. The bed was a little hard, good quality bed linen. Standard bathroom with soft towels and complimentary toiletries, the shower worked well initially although went cold after the first shower. Light and airy breakfast room with a nice selection of hot and cold food, again the staff were very efficient and professional. I would recommend staying at this hotel for location, peace and relaxation.

Booked into Linton Lodge for the first time having stayed elsewhere on previous visits to Oxford. Very impressed by the friendliness of the helpful reception staff and this set the tone of the visit. Pleasant, warm executive room overlooking the garden - quiet and very clean, though this hotel is a conversion from houses so several stairs and bendy corridors to negotiate to get there! For us, that made for a homely feel! Lovely ethos in this hotel. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and again, friendly, helpful staff. Small bar - 24 hours - and everything you want to see in Oxford is only a 20 minute walk or a £5 taxi ride away. Altogether a very warm and positive experience, we shall certainly use this hotel in the future.

We were a party of four old (very) school friends holding their their annual get together. Each booked a room for two nights inc. breakfast for £180 which was considerably less than other Oxford hotels available. Hotel was up to date, well decorated, clean. Staff were friendly. Rooms spacious, well equipped, comfy bed, spotless, range of toiletries and good selection of teas, coffees, chocolate, biscuits. Appreciated the late afternoon canapés and bowl of apples on reception. Breakfasts offered full range of what you'd expect. Evening meal surprisingly very good though there were many nearby indépendant places to walk to for evening meal/ drinks if preferred. Easy to catch a bus for a short ride into the centre. Could have walked but needed to save ourselves for the walking round the amazing buildings, museums, shops and parks. Would certainly recommend considering staying here.

Overall a good one night stay Rooms were clean and well appointed A bit dissapointed in the bar area .Not very big and only bottled beer, a bit like a kiosk selling alcohol. Breakfast was very well made and a good choice available. Location also good , cost us £8 for a taxi into the centre of Oxford. Onsite parking a bit restricted but some on street parking there and the road is pretty quiet.

From the outside and within the reception, this looks like a nice play to stay. But there is more to this place, than meets the eye. The good thing is the location, which is close to the centre of Oxford. The room and bathroom was decent. The problem was when it came to sleeping. We could hear every creak, from the corridor outside and from the room above. The room above, sounded like there was a herd of elephants up there. Pounding the floors for what seemed like 2 hours (may have been searching for some maltesers that rolled away). We could hear the toilet flushing too. On informing the cold, non-engaging, European staff, we just got a response of it is an old hotel. Thanks for that Sherlock, we were expecting them to contact the hiefferlumps, in the room above to tell them to stop stomping around after 11pm. But, no such luck. Breakfast was decent, but missing bread and eggs, which I had to ask for twice and was abruptly/rudely told by a member of staff that they would get them when they had time (I had eaten the rest of my breakfast, by the time they arrived). A heifferlump family (maybe the ones in the room above us) looked like they were eating around 3 breakfasts each. Probably, explains the lack of breakfast items on display. Once the eggs arrived, there were only 6, for the large queue waiting. I suggest this hotel sorts out it's breakfast arrangements and soundproofing. Oh, and to sort out it's payment system. I booked online and used my parent's bank card to pay (their treat), only to be told on arrival I needed to pay. I was told that they couldn't except the online payment, as the payment details, didn't match mine. Never had this issue elsewhere. Will not be staying again

Room and Breakfast:- Located out of the city so was nice and quiet and just a short walk to the main bus route into Oxford city where the services are very good even over the weekend. Room was very well clean and tidy. Reception and Breakfast staff good, chirpy and helpful. Breakfast food was both good products and choice but alas was too cold. If only they had put some more coins in the meter to have the plates warmer on it would have helped. Evening meal in the Restaurant:- Service was friendly but very poor and what the kitchen wanted to send out not what was on the menu. 2 waitresses 2 tables one with the 2 of us and one with a birthday group of 5 to 6. I stated I have a Lactose intolerance but unlike every other restaurant in the world we've visited where they give options or just prep the veg without any butter on, we had Venison Steaks served up with a few salad leaves on the plate, 3 each! The main meal came before the bottle of wine we ordered, which subsequently was plonked down unopened on the table by the other waitress. I did go for a dessert as they had a Sorbet (Lactose problem) but the Sorbet turned into a fruit salad on the way from the kitchen! Never again Linton Lodge.

One night stay with upgraded room on arrival, excellent service, super food for evening dinner and well priced. Would definately recommend. All within easy walking distance of the city centre on a quiet road with car parking. All round 100%

Pleasant hotel in a quiet location conveniently situated for a visit to Oxford city centre (20 minute walk to the heart of Oxford or frequent buses at the end of the road). Also a short stroll into Summertown (good shops and some excellent restaurants) or Jericho on the way into the city. Large car park - free after 3pm on arrival day! Excellent breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff. A nice place to stay if visiting Oxford and the surrounding area.

The hotel is located near the city centre, the beds were very comfortable, the room was very ample with all modern ammenities, and the personnel is very friendly and helpful. It's fairly reasonable priced, so it's a great option for staying in Oxford

Since I've traveled with other family members (we had three rooms), and I've seen their rooms, you have to note that all rooms are not created equal. It looks like different rooms have different designs. My brother had a room with a bath and not just a shower, and my father had different layout of the bathroom. I've stayed in room 223, so others may have different experiences. The hotel is situated a little bit out of city center (if you want to walk, it's about 2.5k), but here is a bus stop next to he hotel (at about 200 meters), and it's so easy to get to and from the hotel by public transportation (it's a 5 minutes bus drive). Check-in was easy, friendly and quick. The room itself was quite (I had a view of the parking area), clean and comfortable. The only downside of the room is the bathroom. It was not small, but the layout was uncomfortable. When you sit on the toilet, you don't have lots of room for your legs, because the shower is right in front of you. And the water power in the shower was very low. Breakfast was nice. I did not experience long lines (and I ate at different times). WiFi was flawless. Bathroom problems aside, it's a good choice if you want to pay a little less than for hotels in city center, and it's definitely a hotel I'll consider on my next visit to Oxford.

Hotel itself is rather good - in very quiet area, clean room, polite staff, good choice of breakfast. But the bathroom did not meet expectations as the water was not warm enough and after a shower the floor floated; also very little space for the toilet. Far from the city center, so walking would take 20-25 min; bus stop a few hundred meters away. Next time, when to consider the time-money ratio, I would prefer rather a bit more expensive accommodation closer to the city center.

Positives: short walk into to town centre. Availability when others full. Good trade in coach parties. No need for wake up call with noise. Staying only one night. Negatives: Self service breakfast with massive queues for the only coffee machine and food. Food tongs missing. Very poor lay out of toilet/shower room. Other reviews have mentioned this. Stale air throughout.

I got this deal off secret escapes for 2 nights with breakfast, 1 evening meal for 2 and a complimentary glass of wine. We were not disappointed. The rooms were lovely, we had a spacious twin. I have seen a comment about the toilets on here. Granted there is a small space between the loo and the shower screen but it shouldn't be too much of an issue, we managed just fine. The new bathrooms were well finished. The only downside to them was the water pressure I'm assuming it drops at peak times, which is normal. The best part about the hotel was the staff. We were warmly greeted on our arrival and served our dinner by a wonderful waitress called Johanna. She was very attentive and remembered us the next morning. We had the set menu which was excellent value for money and good food. The breakfast was excellent and well stocked. We would definitely visit again.

Well it was.. Be warned some of the rooms have toilets which have less than 25cm between the toilet seat and the immovable shower screen. Apparently this is acceptable because we were allocated such a room for 5 nights. A functional toilet which is usable is a necessary requirement for a hotel room. Central Best Western Quality people say they have had no complaints about this hotel so these new toilets must be new. This came as a shock because it was a lovely hotel a few years ago. Better hotels vailable in Oxford at same price point.

This hotel was ideally placed for an event at St. Hugh's College and for visiting the city centre. We were able to leave the car in the hotel car park and walk from there. The room was attractive and comfortable, with windows in two walls and a good-sized desk in the room. The bathroom was not large but perfectly adequate and well-fitted. There was a good choice of food at breakfast.

Ensure upstairs noise problem fixed before taking this executive room. There is a maintenance room with loud, whirring and clanking - something hitting a pipe. Were told no alternative room available.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Linton Lodge hotel. I stay here during weekdays for work and I can't fault it. The price per night is very reasonable (I think you'd pay a lot more elsewhere for such a nice hotel). It is very, very clean and quiet and the comfort room I booked is much bigger in size than I expected! Had a great night sleep here, and the bathroom was very good standard as well. Excellent breakfast service with a good selection of hot and cold food. All the staff here are polite and helpful. Only a short walk to the town centre and a bus stop is nearby so good for getting around :) If you're looking for a hotel in Oxford, I'd definitely recommend the Linton Lodge!

We usually stay at Best Western Hotels and have no issues, however this seemed to be a visit from hell. Believe it or not, they moved ALL our stuff out of our room because they had to accommodate us with a different room. They couldn't reach us via phone,so they literally went into the room and moved every single personal item that I had inside. Is that even LEGAL?!?!? I was so astounded, I'm from New York and have never experience that before, nor have ever met anyone who has experienced that situation happening! The WiFi is very spotty, so if you are running a business, definitely not the place to stay! Additionally, there is no hot water for the showers and when you call the front desk to inquire, they tell you that there's nothing they can do. I'm truly not picky, but when I got to a hotel, the two things that are most important to me are stable WiFi and hot running water! The staff takes no accountability- doesn't offer any help AT ALL! At 10 PM at night I called the front desk for 25 minutes and NO ONE answered. I then proceeded to walk downstairs in my bath towel and found the ONE person working (mind you, for an 80 room hotel) and at the bar drinking!!! Stay away, worst hotel I've ever been to. Would not recommend. Please go anywhere else within oxford. Also, the mans name was Joe at the front desk that literally did not help at all, and did not bother to call the manager.

well equipped room and standard breakfast. Bath a bit on the small side and very compact. location was perfect for us as we were attending a ceremony. Staff were very good and helpful and couldn't fault them. There were no other issues

Being the first time I'd stayed at a Best Western PLUS; I was very much pleasantly surprised by the Linton Lodge Hotel. Oxford is an horrendously expensive city and to find a hotel within walking distance of the centre (a mile or so if your a tight stubborn Yorkshireman like myself) with such modern rooms and inclusive of parking, for less than £100 a night is great value. Breakfast wasn't included in that but could be added on for a reasonable extra cost. My room was modern, plush and spacious and the curtains blocked out every last bit of light to the point I was concerned about waking up in the morning should my alarm fail and had to feel my way around on switching the lights off/ getting up. Staff were very friendly and it's always a nice touch when you get a phone call immediately after checking in to confirm the room is ok for you. The free apples on reception are also a nice touch and now I come to think of it; I'm really racking my brain for any negatives. For that matter the toilet seat was uncomfortable and the shower was a bit powder puff (Pathetic but the best I can manage!).

I stayed at the Linton Lodge on 29th Jan, from arriving the staff were very pleasant, our room was upgraded, with an abundance of everything required and exceptional value. The evening meal was delicious and the prices were reasonable, a very nice breakfast. The hotel location was perfect. We hope to return in the future.

Cons: tiniest double bed ever. bathroom that small we had to sit sideways on the toilet seat no toilet brush, heard EVERYTHING in room next door and above, outlook was a seven foot wooden fence three feet from window...Pros: exceptionally clean, excellent central location to oxford city centre, fab breakfast ....

A very nice quality hotel close to the city centre to be in walking distance or a quick bus ride away. The staff are excellent, all very friendly and helpful from reception to the restaurant staff. We made the choice to take our evening meal in the hotel and the food was excellent and of very good value, 3 courses for £20. Breakfast the following day was very good with a wide variety of options. Highly recommended.

An excellent and clean hotel with very friendly staff, ideal for a stay in Oxford. The room was clean and very comfortable and the meals in restaurant which we used every evening matched everything else about hotel for quality and service. We had booked for three nights over my wife's birthday, but had planned to add extra. Unfortunately a few hours after our check-in on the first evening, my wife's back locked and went into spasm and we had to spend the next day in our room, before reluctantly cancelling our final day and returning home for treatment. We definitely intend to reprise our visit to Oxford and the hotel in a few weeks time.The staff are all so sociable and friendly. For us in particular Alexandra in the restaurant was invaluable in helping me with my coeliac diet, and also the lady assistant manager in reception who was so sympathetic and who handled our cancellation. Constructively, although I give top ratings to the restaurant, as a coeliac worried about cross-contamination with gluten (as opposed to just a lifestyle GF diet) I would urge the restaurant to contact the UK Coeliac Society with a view to gaining accreditation, as this would allow the use of their logo on menus, reception, etc. This is the first thing that thousands of people like me initially look for when choosing a restaurant or hotel, as it gives us confidence in the kitchen and saves lots of probing for reassurance when entering a restaurant. Two simple examples are that I had to request specifically that my GF bread was toasted using a plate under the grill in the kitchen (a lot of restaurants keep a separate domestic toaster or toast bags available for the eventuality), and I had to use my table cutlery and be very wary and selective when taking items from the copious breakfast buffet. My wife's back problem also illustrated to us how useful a grab rail would have been to assist the less agile to step into the shower.That said we will definitely be returning to this hotel and would recommend it to others.

The staff were all very helpful and courteous. We ate in the restaurant at breakfast and in the evening. The evening meal was extremely good and the breakfasts were well catered for whether you wanted the continental or the full English. Can recommend.

Stayed here just after the new year for our first visit to Oxford. We don't mind walking so the 25 minute walk into town was no problem but it's also very close to a regular bus room. We got a room only deal for £60 a night which was great fir the standard of hotel. We arrived 1.5 hours earlier than check in (train times dictated that) but it was no problem to get the room early. The gentleman on check in was extremely helpful and polite and even told us a joke and knew a few facts about my team once he knew we were from Bolton. The room was warm and very clean. Plenty of spare towels (even though they changed them every day). No skimping on the hospitality tray either with lots of choice and plenty if biscuits. Ironing board and iron if you felt the need plus lots of toiletries if you had forgot your own. There's a bar area and a lounge area and reception was always helpful with directions and taxi ordering and always welcoming when passing. The hotel is in a nice residential area so it's very quiet and there's also a few areas with restaurants & bars that are closer to walk to than the centre. So here's the but ... breakfast for the full choice is £12.95 per person which I think is expensive no matter what the standard. We gave it a try on the first morning and we were disappointed so ate elsewhere after that and based on breakfast didn't try the evening meal. We went down at 9.10 (breakfast “finishing” at 10) and a few hot choices were empty and slow to refill so had to eat in two stages. The quality of the cold items wasn't very good and the choice of toast (2) cheap brown or white bread wasn't great. The quality of drinks from the machine was very high either. At 9.55 a member of the staff came round to say breakfast finishes at 10 & sure enough at 10 everything was turned off ! You can see from the volume of reviews I have stayed in lots of places and different standards and I consider myself fair & understanding so breakfast was pretty poor. The price needs to come down and / or the quality go up. If you avoid breakfast you will have a very nice stay.

The executive rooms are spacious clean and comfortable The hotel is located about 20 minutes walk from the city centre so is in an excellent location I only had breakfast but there was plenty of choice

The hotel was clean and staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms are well equipped and provide some essential toiletries. Ironing board and iron in the room, TV with free view channels. I ate in the restaurant and there was confusion with staff who I assume are training (I'm still awaiting to find out what the soup of the day was) the food was okay and it is convenient if not travelling into Oxford to eat. Breakfast was good. All in all a pleasant stay.

The room was tidy, but a bit small. I wish that in the breakfast there could be more healthy options and fresh vegetables and fruits. I' would like to say thank you for helpful Spanish reseptionists, they were so happy and professional. I had also dinner in the restaurant and food was really good, but I had to wait for a long time. Speciall thanks for Paula and Jose for good job.

Nice hotel, clean, convenient location, nice staff. The restaurant was nice, convenient, and had good food. My only (minor) complaint is that I had a room at the end of the hall and wifi was intermittent. I will stay here again.

Staff here are super friendly! Lovely modern room. We arrived in the am and it was no problem getting our room where we needed some rest. The lounge was 24 hours which was nice cause we were jetlagged. The restaurant was excellent. Had breakfast and dinner there and of all the places we ate in Oxford, our hotel was tops. Staff were kind enough to make us a plate of curry at 4 am. Fantastic staff!!!

We like this hotel as it's only a 10 minute walk to the town, has ample parking, nice rooms and you get a good breakfast. It's not ultra posh but you're not paying for that. The staff are always nice and friendly.

Stayed here in May 2017 and found it very comfortable. Returned for two nights and was upgraded to an executive room. Great food in the restaurant including the option of a set menu - three course meal with three options for each course for 20 pound. Great value. Room was warm with comfy bed. Highly recommend a stay here

Check-in was fine, room ready, even though we were early. We had soon dropped off our bags and were in our room. The room was very spacious and pretty well equipped. We were happy with the room. We set off sightseeing in Oxford. Our first night was fine, not too noisy for a Friday night in a hotel room. Saturday morning breakfast was ok, coffee machine didn't seem to be working very well though. We went off for our day in Oxford. We returned to our room at around 5pm, very disturbed to find the door to our room open. The door to our room (100) needs to be pulled hard shut to be closed. Clearly the room cleaner did not do this and we were lucky that our belongings were still there. On Saturday evening it was raining hard so we decided to eat in the hotel. The menu was fine but the service was not good. The lady running the bar took our order, but she was usually busy with other people and with only one other member of staff on hand was struggling. A shame because the food was pretty good. When it came to pay the bill there was nobody around so just signed the bill and left it. Later only to be phoned by reception for credit card details. Sunday morning and the breakfast staff were all different. Coffee machine not working (i.e., no cappuccino machine for guests), toaster not working, staff not very helpful. No suggestion that we could have a cappuccino from the bar like other people seemed to have. Checkout was ok, but the dinner bill from Saturday night was still not paid for despite the call to the room asking for the card details the evening before. There is a serious need for some help and organisation for the foreign staff trying hard to provide a service to the customers. Lots of promise but please Management take account of the above.

I booked for 6 guests, arrived at 11am and just asked to park in the car park and the receptionist said that our room was ready and we could check in. Check in is tally at 3pm so I had to pay £6 to park until 3pm but more than happy to do that with the early check in at no extra cost. Room was nice, kettle, steam iron and ironing board were provided which was good as you usually have to go to reception to ask for one. The only problem I found was if you're 6 foot or over you really struggle to sit on the toilet. This night sound strange but the glass for the shower is so close that you kind of have to shuffle onto it. No big deal and my wife found it hilarious. All in all, a lovely hotel with really friendly staff.

We had a lovely meal. Served by pleasant staff. There were a group of us and all were served in a timely manner. Everything was nice and hot and well presented. Well done to all the staff. Looking forward to our next visit.

Its a good walk to the city centre and a £6 taxi from the station. I really enjoyed the walk, and you have Tolkiens house round the corner. the hotel is smart and comfortable with helpful staff. My room was well furnished and very comfortable. It has a bar and restaurant, I tried the bar but was out all night so did not try the restaurant

Hotel served its purpose for my work conference, 15min walk to the city centre and free parking. Rooms are very spacious and beds very comfortable. Location is good to be able to get in and out of Oxford without being stuck in congestion in the centre.

Excellent service, most welcoming and helpful staff. Room was clean, warm and comfortable. Bathroom on the small side but that is a minor point. Breakfast was overall good and plentiful. The location of the hotel is superb. We had eaten elsewhere at lunchtime but enjoyed freshly made sandwiches in the lounge bar in the evening. Could have done without the piped music in the lounge but that is a minor point.

I recently stayed at Linton Lodge for several nights as a part of a workshop, so the hotel was paid for from the workshop. The hotel is located on a very quiet street. My room was quite big, with a good bed, an armchair, and a desk. The shower is of an adequate size, and the water pressure and temperature are both good. However, I would not recommend to anyone to stay there. 1. The hotel has no soundproofing whatsoever. There is no noise from the outside, but every single movement in the adjacent rooms (somebody opening the door, closing the door, going to the toilet, etc.) is heard as clearly as if it was happening in your room. The same is true for any movement in the corridor. 2. The rooms on the ground floor (or at least my room) have large windows facing either the parking lot or the back yard. The windows are on the eye level, so I was forced to keep the curtains in my room drawn in for the whole duration of my stay. 3. The cherry on top: I took a shower the first morning and, as it is done in hotels all around the world, hung the towels on the towel rack. It is customary to hang the towels to indicate that you would like to use them again, to save water. I left the thick towel that serves as a bathroom rug on the floor. I returned to the room very late that night after spending the whole day working and planned to take a shower. However, I discovered that all towels were taken from the room and not replaced. So first, the hotel is not supposed to collect the towels that were left hanging (and not on the floor). And second, it is a very poor customer service not to replace the towels. As you can imagine, I couldn't go to the reception at midnight wearing a bathrobe, so I was forced to use the bathrobe as a makeshift towel. It is a good thing that at least they didn't take the bathrobe! I have never experienced anything like that.

About a 25-30 minute walk out of the centre, the hotel offers free car parking and a 24 hour bar! Rooms were really clean with good facilities. Bathrooms slightly cramped but good. Staff very helpful. A great hotel in a very quiet but lovely location.

We easily found this hotel and parked in the few spaces in the front car park. When you are parked outside check-in (3pm) /check-out (11am) hours, it is charged at £2 per hour. However, we were able to check-in early and had a lovely surprise to be upgraded to one of the executive rooms. Inside were a little basket of toiletries (including lip balm), bath robes, bottled water and plenty of tea/coffee/aero chocolate making facilities with chic chip cookies and Viennese shortbread biscuits. TV/bluetooth music player and daily paper. We loved our room so much, we weren't in a hurry to get out. We found that all these extra touches made us want to return to the same hotel next time. The staff were all friendly and Maria gave us accurate and clear information on the bus service which was at the end of the road. For £3 return, we took the lazy option into town but we could have easily walked it. The cooked breakfast was amazing, with everything option you could want (including black pudding) and corners weren't cut on the quality on any of the continental options either. Even the coffee machine gave out lattes/cappuccinos etc. Finding this hotel in their Winter sale made our first trip together to Oxford an exceptionally special and affordable one and we even bought a bottle of Oxford Sauce from the bar as a reminder of our stay. Thank you, we will definitely be back!

It is just off a main route from the North into Oxford. About ten minutes walk from The Parks and the same again to town centre. However frequent buses pass on the main road and a taxi is about £7.00 to colleges and centre. So well located for Oxford or even exploring the wider area where Blenheim Palace is not far away. Car park at rear, friendly and efficient front of house staff although the public areas are small for a hotel of this size, the bar will probably seat no more than ten comfortably and there is another rather gloomy space seating a similar number. The absolute positives are it is very clean, good quality towels and bed linen and the self service breakfast was excellent. We also had dinner, good value at £20 for the set menu. Staff we met were exclusively foreign and on occasions there was an indication of insufficient training but they were all looking to please. Why, for example would they look to insist a group of five used a table for four by putting a chair and place setting on the end of the table when a round table of six was available. We used the table for six foe what I have described as an excellent breakfast. Our bed was rather small , barely a double. Would we stay again, yes, it is good value and well located.

Reception was attentive and friendly on arrival. Room was clean and serviced properly. Only drawback was lack of drawer space for clothes. There was open shelving that was taken up with bath robes, additional towels and the hospitality tray. Breakfast is fully self service even down to hot drinks. Not the best. As the counters are in the corner of the room, it gets a bit crowded in the corner where the chilled food, cereals and toaster are. Food was re stocked as necessary without having to ask. Only used the restaurant on one evening, table service was good and food served in an acceptable time. Checkout was a little slow as only one receptionist and several people waiting.

I recently stayed here for 10 nights with a tour group. The hotel has a good location with easy access to the main road and the buses if you don't want to walk into Oxford. Our room was small, but functional and comfortable. We were at the back of the hotel so it was very quiet at night. The beds are very comfortable so you'll certainly get a good night's sleep. The safe is located in the closet, but is very small so if you have anything bigger than a phone (such as a tablet or camera) you'll need to lock it in your suitcase as it won't fit in the safe. The room has an iron, ironing board, fan, and hair dryer. If you need a mirror to use the hair dryer you have to stand in front of the desk mirror. My main complaint and the source for my rating is the bathroom. Our room had the smallest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel. The toilet was placed facing the shower so if you were taller than about 5 feet you had to sit sideways on the seat to use the toilet. It was also hard to reach the towel rack over the toilet. The shower had ok water pressure and a half door common to many European hotels so Americans need to be careful so you don't end up with water everywhere, Our shower had a small button on the temperature knob which needed to be pushed in to adjust the temperature. The amenities were nice and kept well stocked. Breakfast was good and plentiful - the scrambled eggs were real eggs, cooked thoroughly, and kept hot. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Staff at Linton lodge were very friendly and helpful. I used the accessible ground floor room which had a very large wet room with a good seat. The room was light with views of the garden. The bed was comfortable. The door was too heavy for me to open on my own, but Reception staff were always there to help me. The room is actually in the Reception area, which makes it easy to get to the restaurant. Reception and the bar were quiet by 11p.m so it was fine for sleeping.There is one step to the garden. Food in the restaurant was very good and the set menu was great value. The service was efficient which helped us as we had an 18 month old child with us. It's a 20 minute walk to the city. Staff booked an accessible taxi for me.

A super hotel, room very plush and the bed wonderfully capacious (could have accommodated our two dogs had we taken them!) in addition to ourselves! Lovely staff - the best raspberry gin and tonic I have ever had. The pool was lovely ans almost deserted during our weekend visit. Our friends had put up all of us in about 20 rooms - it was a wonderful weekend and I thoroughly the hotel.

Lovely staff. Food was brilliant, especially breakfast. We had a large room with wide windows a door to the garden and a huge comfy bed. Spotless and cleaning excellent. Can't fault this hotel. But perhaps more of a business location than holiday. If you go do have the cheeseboard! Not often available and was excellent

Linton Lodge is a lovely small hotel in a residential area with leafy lanes and a short distance from Oxford centre. The hotel staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The room was well appointed with all the necessary comforts. Breakfast was a good experience with freshly cooked food being regularly put out on the buffet.

This was a good standard hotel clean good food and comfy beds Quiet at night and friendly staff the only reason I did not rate it higher is as another review stated the bathroom was in need of a facelift not dirty I must stress just starting to look tired That said I will revisit in the future

Recent reviews encouraged us to try this Best Western Hotel about a mile north of Oxford city centre and we were very pleased with our three-night stay. We were looking for a convenient location to go into and out of Oxford with free parking and this worked well. The hotel was full on our first night and so the car park was full when we arrived in the evening but reception staff gave us an on-street voucher for 24 hours free parking at the front of the hotel and helpfully filled out the times for us. The next two nights we found spaces in the car park at the back of the hotel (reached around the corner, take the road left after passing the front of the hotel). We had booked a standard double room but were upgraded to an executive room which was at the front on the ground floor. The room was spacious with a sofa and table, free bottled water and robes, comfortable bed and a good-sized clean bathroom. Although fronting the parking and road, it was quiet at night, with double-glazing and little passing traffic. The pillows were rather hard but there were spare softer pillows in the wardrobe. Our stay was very enjoyable, with welcoming staff and a good breakfast every day included in the room rate. The breakfast was buffet-style but you could request anything special. A good selection of fruit, cereals, yogurts and pastries was available, alongside full cooked breakfast options. We did not eat dinner there but went into the city. There is a bar and a small garden. The area has no pubs or restaurants close by. We were able to walk in and out of the city in about 20 minutes and there was also a good bus service with a stop near St Margaret's Road on Banbury Road, a couple of minutes from the hotel. Staff were able to supply a bus map and advice. The hotel seemed to have had a fairly recent make-over in relaxing neutral tones and felt welcoming. We would stay again.

I was the organiser of the group of 90+ which some have already reviewed. The staff were a joy to work with, always friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely, comfortable beds, good showers, free wifi (which worked!). The food was delicious and always piping hot - not easy with such a large group. We went for buffet dinners which everyone enjoyed as they could choose what they wanted and go back for seconds (there was plenty to go round). Nice, cosy bar area and good choice of drinks - the house wine was excellent. The location is just perfect - 20 minutes walk or a short bus ride into the city centre and yet the area is really quiet and peaceful. Altogether a great place to stay.

The rooms are very comfortable with fairly firm and comfortable beds and is very clean and tidy. The restaurant is very good with good food and a very friendly and helpful team. Lovely garden to relax in and the hotel is a 15 minute walk into the city centre.

I was lucky enough to win a night at Linton Lodge Great Western Hotel. My husband and I travelled over to Oxford on 23rd August and were greeted with the news that we had been upgraded to an executive room. The staff on reception were very helpful and polite and seemed keen for us to have a nice stay with them. Our room was large with a very large bed which was firm and really suited us! We had an arm chair and a small sofa and coffee table and a large TV on the wall. We had a bath with plenty of hot water and towels and robes and a selection of Gilchrist and Soames toiletries, including lip balm ( a nice touch!). Our room was quiet with no disturbance from other guests and we were very comfortable. The hospitality tray included lovely biscuits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We had a gin and tonic in the bar before going out for dinner and sat in the little lounge area opposite the bar. This was a comfortable way to start our evening. The bar was quite small but the bartender was cheerful and polite and there was a choice of two gins including Bombay Sapphire, which we like. On returning from our dinner, we were greeted again at reception…little touches that make you feel like a valued guest. The next morning, check out was 11am, which allows plenty of time to get ready and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The breakfast is a buffet of hot and cold food and there is a good selection, including vegetarian. The staff were attentive and food was topped up at the counters regularly. The hotel is a comfortable walk from town but there is a bus if you prefer. We walked through the university parks by the river. This walk is about 1.3miles and is very pretty and peaceful. Check out was easy and again we were wished a happy day as we left. I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel for anyone visiting Oxford.

We stayed here for 2nights mini break -going to Blenheim Palace and into Oxford The room ( on the ground floor) was a good size , very clean , clean bedding , comfy bed and a choice of pillows . Tea /coffee chocolate making facilities and biscuits in room -filled up each day. Bath with shower over -lovely hot water and lovely towels and toiletries supplied -black out curtains / Tv / iron all the usual things The staff were friendly , polite and helpful - The bar was well equipped -we ate in the restaurant for one evening meal -the food was really delicious, hot in temperature and nicely presented-definitely would recommend-we didn't have breakfast as we went out both days . The hotel is well situated for a very good bus service into /back from Oxford city centre ( even runs until late on a Sunday) Also the city tour bus has a stop around the corner We would definitely stay here again if we go to Oxford .

We have enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel in the past and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an executive room on arrival. We loved our room and the excellent service offered by all the staff. Apples at the reception desk is a nice touch. On site parking is very useful for Oxford. Summer town shops and restaurants are within walking distance as is the local bus into the center of Oxford which is about a 35 minute brisk walk away.

This is a lovely, friendly hotel in a leafy residential area. It's a twenty minute walk to the centre of town. Buses to town are frequent from near the end of the road. It has free parking which is a bonus.The rooms are clean and comfortable and reception staff are helpful and friendly.

We have just returned from a lovely short break at the Linton Lodge. The hotel is situated in in a quiet, peaceful, residential area of Oxford, yet only a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride into the city centre (bus stop is just round the corner on the Banbury Road and buses run very frequently). We booked an 'Executive Room' (107), which was clean, spacious and comfortable with two easy chairs and a good size bathroom. Bathrobes, toiletries, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, mineral water, tissues, towels and a daily paper were all provided. Breakfast was buffet style with a wide selection of both hot and cold options and dinner in the evening was good. All staff were friendly and helpful at all times. I read another review from a guest who stayed at the same time as us and he complained about a waiter who had scratches on his face; this young man had in fact fallen off his bike, but this in no way affected the service he gave, he was polite, courteous and friendly and always took the time to ask about our day; we actually mentioned him in our feedback for his exceptional service. All in all a very pleasant stay and we would definitely return the next time we visit Oxford.

Room 32 - nice large room looking onto dustbins and laundry. My second night was in 115 I think at front - small room. No water in the rooms Dinner was poor - they were moving tables around me for breakfast which ruined my meal. The meal was OK but it took three attempts because the staff were all foreign to get some mint sauce; One waiter had open scratches and sores on his face and hands. Parking was difficult but you could park on the street late in the evening Breakfast was a buffet and as usual with buffets was luke warm. Again staff were constantly walking around good location for Oxfoed

Great location with a pleasant walk into the centre of the city. You can also catch a bus at the top of the road for a quick ride into town. The staff were very helpful and ordered a taxi at short notice.

I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. The staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the room was a bit cramped (especially the bathroom) but had all the necessary amenities, and the food in the restaurant was very good. It's conveniently located and very near a bus stop that heads straight into the city centre. Good value for money in a place like Oxford. About the only negative is that I found the Wifi to be a bit patchy.

Does exactly as it says - comfortable; bar and restaurant; parking. Not too expensive either and very easy links straight into Oxford city centre. Would recommend for business or a city break. Not really a family hotel as such.

Located off the Banbury Road about a 20 to 25 minute walk from St Giles, this is a good hotel in its category. Don't expect luxury, but everything was good. I have stayed there before and would happily stay there again. For its category, I would rate it 5.

You dont get what you pay for. This place is so overpriced and for absolutely no reason. You cant get any mobile (cell phone) reception or wifi connection anywhere inside the building. The bed was disgusting, it had what I believe were period blood stains on it. It's not a problem that they dont have any air conditioning in any of the rooms but during my stay with it being an all time high heat they said "oh you're lucky, here is the last fan" and handed us a small desk fan. The room felt like a sweat shop even with the windows open. The staff were not helpful, rude and unpleasant. I had booked this through my production companies travel agent and they basically told my agent to go screw himself in no uncertain terms. I've already notified my production company AND agent about my experience here and will no longer send any more clients this way. Go stay at The Spires hotel, similar prices but much better service!

Stayed for two nights. The room was large, clean and quiet, with a view towards the garden behind the hotel - the first thing we saw as we arrived was a couple of squirrels playing on the lawn! Nice bathroom with modern amenities - and a large shower cubicle instead of a bathtub. We found a parking space - for free - in the hotel front area. The breakfast was very good, and they even had whole grain rolls, cold cuts and cheese in addition to hot food buffet. The hotel is a15 minutes relaxed walk away from the city centre, and in a small and quiet side street. No noise in the evening / night. Fairly expensive, but not compared to hotels in Oxford city centre; more or less standard Best Western level in price - as in everything else, which means a good hotel with helpful and smiling staff.

I stayed here during one of our international study meetings in Oxford in May 2018. I did enjoy the fact that the rooms were very spacious, and accommodating. The food is great, nice service and the staff are very lovely. The hotel is located near a bus stop, so one can board one of those buses to town, or if you fancy take a 20 minutes walk to Oxford town. One issue though was that, I didn't have hot shower in my bathroom for the 5 nights I was hosted here. I even reported this to the receptionist, the plumber checked it out, but still I kept getting unpleasantly warm shower while my colleagues had seething hot showers. It being a relatively cold place, the management should ensure hot shower was available to their customers. One other issue with the room I got was that it was cold, and the heating didn't seem to sufficiently warm the room. This meant that my I didn't enjoy spending time in the room and sleep quality was impacted, although they do provide an extra duvet to add to your bed if needed. Nonetheless, rooms were okay, service was okay and food was great.

I've stayed at this hotel many time and usually found it a great stay but a little expensive. I don't know what has changed but the friendliness seemed to be lacking. I booked a family room which was a reasonable size to fit two double beds downside was the window in the room didn't open and the plug under a bedside table was dangerously loose. I left a note so hopefully that will be fixed before another guest checks in. There was a good choice for breakfast but I was left disappointed when I realised I wouldn't be able to order a pot of tea. Having a coffee machine I can understand but the cups where so small that making a tea was hardly worth the effort and there was no choice of size of cup. Something I think needs to be looked into. Hotel doesn't have air-conditioning but did provide fans. I asked for a sheet as sleeping under a quilt would have been too uncomfortable especially without a window to open. I asked at reception and was given a quilt cover. The hotel offers free parking during your stay and a charge of £2 per out of the check in/out times which for Oxford is very good. There is a bus stop very close by that you can get throughout the day and at night. I am a rewards customer and booked a have breakfast on us only to discover that booking the room and adding breakfast would have been the same price. All in all not as happy as I usually am staying here.

Staff didn't say hello when first arrived, very cold reception. Made us pay extra to park the car in the day. Hotel is grey and dull and corporate looking. Asked for advice on restaurant recommendations and told to come back later. Pillows so soft they are like cotton wool and no help when initially asking for harder pillows. Second phone call to complain secured 4 more cotton wool pillows. Not impressed.

I stayed for a week in July 2018. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They provided clear information about walking routes and buses to Oxford, restaurants and anything else I needed, The hotel is not air-conditioned, and it was a hot week, but the rooms on the lower floors are comfortable, fans are provided and windows can be opened. The neighborhood is residential and quiet, making it easy to rest and a lovely respuite from the busy-ness of Oxford town centre.

Stayed here for a wedding over the weekend. For the price I paid (booked well in advance) I expected more, especially from an Executive room. Whilst the room was a good size and nicely presented, it was not in my view very executive! I went in several standard rooms of other wedding party guests and they were pretty similar tbh. The room was VERY warm at night which massively affected the quality of my sleep. We had to shut the windows because of noisy guests sitting out at the front of the hotel in the early hours (how is that acceptable?). The provided fan had limited effect. The bathroom was a bit dated and the shower would go suddenly cold. Breakfast was fine - buffet breakfast is never going to be gourmet - but I felt that they could and should have done better than the cheapest of cheap sliced bread. On the plus side, the staff were helpful and friendly and the hotel is generally well presented. Bar area is small for the size of hotel. Other guests had a better, and cheaper, experience at local B&Bs, which is what I'll choose next time.

My daughter and I stayed at Best Western Linton Lodge from June 12 - 14. I chose this hotel for its location because I wanted to be able sleep at night. This hotel fit the bill as it is located on a quiet street located just a bit over a mile from the City Center; an easy walk along Banbury Rd where you will see many lovely homes (many are actually attached to the many colleges in the area). The rooms are comfortable with good size bathrooms. We stayed in Room 212 which is directly over the entrance, facing Linton Rd. The most important thing to keep in mind about this hotel - there is no A/C. If you definitely must have A/C 24/7; this is not the place to stay. There was a small fan in the room and with the windows open at night, it was comfortable. Breakfast buffet was included with our stay and it was more than adequate. If you're looking for local pubs the hotel is located near a couple of nice ones about half-mile along Banbury. We had a nice meal at the Rose and Crown our first night. There are more restaurants/pubs located in city. Overall, we were quite pleased with the location of the hotel and the amenities provided. The staff were attentive and pleasant. If you're "OK" with minimalism in your hotel room - then Best Western Linton Lodge is a perfect place to stay.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. My wife and I stayed in a double room and our two daughters in a twin room. Both rooms were very modern, attractive and well furnished. The ironing board and electric fan were much appreciated. The staff on the reception were very friendly and helpful and the choice of food for breakfast was good. The hotel is conveniently located in a lovely residential area which good car parking. 10 minute walk away from Summertown and 15 minute walk to Jericho and the city centre although you can get the regular bus services if you prefer. We were very impressed and will use the hotel again on our next visit to Oxford.

While this hotel is situated outside the city, you can easily reach via a 15 to 20 minutes walk. I love the location. Along the way, there are some good restaurants- cheaper as compared to those in the city. The rooms were clean with a modern touch. While it does not have Air Cond, it does not bother us. Just open the window. It is a quiet neighbourhood.

We chose this hotel because of it's location outside the centre of Oxford. Our room was at the back facing the garden which was nice because it was quiet there. However there was no AC present which made the room warm and stuffy even though the temperature outside was a nice 21o C. Opening the windows didn't help much because of the heavy drapes. The bedcovers and pillows seemed synthetic which made things worse. There as a fan in the room but when turned on it blew so hard that it was too cold to endure. A small fridge wasn't available so bottled water we had brought became warm. The room itself was very small and the bathroom was even so small two people couldn't be in it at the same time. The WC was placed facing the shower wall so a tall person would have a really hard time sitting down. Staff overall was friendly except for a very snappy (intern?) girl at the front desk who bluntly refused to give me a bathrobe when I requested one stating those were only available for guests staying in the Executive rooms. Only after I showed her the hotel's brochure in which it said clearly that robes were available upon request at the front desk and after intervention of her superior who immediately appologized for the girls mistake I received a robe. I understand that people have to learn and need training on the job, but it was the way that she bluntly said ''no'' in that very snappy way that made me think that maybe this isn't the right line of work for her. It would have been much better if she had said she wasn't sure and would inquire, but instead she talked down to me in a haughtily way assuming I wasn't an ''Executive'' guest as she didn't know what room I was staying in until she asked me my room number áfter she had already refused me the robe. The other members of the front desk have been helpfull, both experienced as training staff. We had dinner in the hotel the first night which was awfull. My fish was crunchy, not because of a crust but because of the salt that was ''sprinkled'' over it. The only thing good about this hotel is the nice quiet neighbourhood it's in and the fact that it has free parking for guests and easy bus connections to the city centre.

We stayed in Oxford for three days and two nights. Hotel was super easy to get to from the bus. Just a couple blocks from the stop. Check-in was super fast and everyone so pleasant. Room was always clean. Fans worked well to help cool down. We did have the window open while we were in the room. Looked like our room was recently remodeled and was very pleasant. Nights were nice and it was extremely quiet. I thought we were the only ones here as I usually here background noise at a hotel, but none here. Breakfast was great....and we were t the only ones here as there were plenty having their meal. Everything was at effect temperature and the staff kept things full. All in all, I would definitely come back here if we ever come back to Oxford.

Just stayed at Best Western Plus Oxford Linton Lodge Hotel. Hotel is just off the Banbury rd and was easy to find as I walked from the city centre About 20 mins . Check in was easy and was in the room with in a few minutes (first floor). The room was big clean with with all the usual things you expect but I was surprised to find a iron and full size ironing board in the wardrobe. Had a full size walk in shower clean and no sign of mould around the shower . The only thing I found was that the toilet was close to the shower screen and a bit of a squeeze . Breakfast was in the restaurant and self service full English and continental was offered as well as vegetarian. Would I stay again or recommend yes I would .

I stayed for 9 nights and was able to sleep on 3 of them. The walls are too thin. The TVs are mounted on the thin walls and the neighbors TV kept me up, even with different people staying in the adjacent room. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel is very busy. The stairs were good exercise but had very heavy doors in them (fire doors?) - I've never seen that before. That was irritating. $5 for a very small bottle of sparkling lemonade and no stores nearby. No refrigerator in the room. My room was so small I couldn't get around the bed when I opened my suitcase. There were no drawers for clothes. Nine days is a long time to live out of a suitcase. The food wasn't great but edible. I loved that the chef gave me a large bowl of rice to put my iPad in after I dropped it in the creek. It didn't help but he was so friendly and kind. The outdoor furniture was structurally unsound- ready to break at any time. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

We stayed in this Hotel for one night.' The staff was friendly, room was clean, and adequate toiletries as you would expect. Half hore walk to central Oxford, carspaces available. If there was only one complaint..... For some unknown reason the room was hot, as in temp hot.Bathroom tiles were warm. Bed was comfortable and a fan provided. Just a shame there is no air condition.

We stayed for 2 nights in what we thought at first glance quite a good room albeit a little small. The night was very warm ( thank goodness for the fan in the cupboard) and the room equally so with no ac we had to sleep with the windows open not something I was keen on doing on the ground floor.the ceiling was paper thin and we spent over 2 hours laying in bed listening to the ceiling creak whilst people in the room walked around until they finally went to bed! The bath is rubbish, it takes nearly 20 mins to empty as the water just sits there and the taps virtually impossible to work out what's hot and cold! The floor was also heated and so hot to,stand on it was quite unpleasant. We did contemplate asking to move rooms but in the end felt that we would only be in the room for the evenings so didn't bother. On a plus note the breakfast was great, and it was a lovely walk ( fast 20mins) into the city centre past all the amazing houses and universities. We also had free onsite parking with the room for the duration of our stay. Would I stay here again..... not sure.

In a town where expensive hotels are the norm, Best Western stands out as a delightful little surprise. Just a mile away from the town centre, this hotel is pretty, generous, warm and friendly. Would definitely return to it the next time I am in Oxford.

We've just spent the Bank hol.weekend in the hotel. The room facing the garden was quiet and very confortable. Staff very helpful and smiley. English or continental breakfast both excellent. Would not hesitate to go back.

The hotel is very conveniently located within a peaceful, quiet and safe neighbourhood. It is within walking distance of the centre of Oxford. We also went for a local walk in the evening and felt totally safe. One big benefit of the hotel is the parking - this is included from check in to check out, which I understand is quite rare in Oxford. We paid for breakfast; there was a wide choice of food (hot cooked food, as well as cereal, yoghurt, toast etc). The room itself was very small - so much so that we were unable to open our suitcase! We did ask reception if we could change to a bigger room but were told it was the standard double room size. If you are travelling with luggage I would suggest you book an Executive room. In addition to this the cleanliness of the room was questionable, with a number of hairs in the bed when we pulled back the sheets. The room was also very warm, but there was no air conditioning - we had to sleep with the window wide open and a fan on. With these contributing factors we felt the rooms were poor value for money, although perhaps you'd pay for the parking and location!

Excellent location in a beautiful city. Close to the city centre (approx. 1 mile) with easy bus links to & from city centre. We also found the surrounding area safe to walk in - walked back from the city centre late at night.

Food in the restaurant was excellent. The service was good and friendly. The Executive Rooms are very nice, although mine did get very hot when the sun was out. The en suite was well equipped, if a little on the small side. Nice touches like bottled water in the rooms. In walking distance of the city centre.

I spent a night here and the room was perfect. Two downside, the park price wasnt include 7 pounds the night And the breakfest wasnt either and was very expensive. The rest was correct it was a good night.

This is my go-to location in Oxford. It is situated quite close to town but still gives you a lower price range. It is close to the main road so you can reach buses easily but not so close that you hear all the noise. There is also free parking available for the guests. Staff is very professional and friendly. Lovely design of the rooms; very modern but warm and 'cosy' at the same time. If you book early enough, you can grab yourself a real deal !

Staff were great upon arrival, the room was bright, clean and bed was comfy! Hotel was also just off a main bus route into Oxford which we used regularly. Parking was included which was great for a hotel so close to the city centre.

An excellent hotel close to all the sights and ameneties of Oxford. A very nice and quite affordable Restaurant where else in Oxford could you get a sirloin steak for under £15, breakfast is very good help yourself to as much as you want. The thing that makes this hotel special are the staff.

This was our second visit and I had asked to see if an exec room / walk-in shower were available. We booked a standard double room previously. Following our first stay in 2016 I had made some comments which Keith accepted graciously and I had no qualms about returning. We did indeed find we had an upgrade.And very nice too was room 7 reception and restaurant staff were very obliging and professional. We did not see the cleaners. Ironically however, although our much nicer exec room was very quiet - it was situated in a recess and sign posted as a QUIET zone, the cleaners did make a bit of noise at night, I don't know why but the doors there are very loud when closing. Maybe try a soft close mechanism ? The mop & bucket and laundry basket were placed outside our area which seemed a bit out of keeping with "executive" or indeed any other holiday connotation. We want to forget about things that remind us of home ! ?? However I want to thank everyone for a lovely stay. We were charged for an hour's parking at 2.10 pm, following anew rule. This does seem a bit of a nuisance as we were just checking in. I understand the reasoning but I urge LL to publicise it as much as possible. People can be very precious about the small points and will argue them unless you can say we have told you in the booking process CLEARLY. And an hour's grace on check in did not seem unreasonable. Think of the good will when you waive that first hour's charge ! I don't know when we will be back but we will not hesitate to stay again. The exec room is very comfortable. All rooms should be like it.

A comfortable hotel in a great location. Upgraded to an executive room on arrival. Service, cleanliness and amenities were outstanding. Breakfast excellent as expected at Best Western. We will certainly return to this hotel in the future.

Spent two nights here during a visit to Oxford. The room we were allocated originally had a walk-in shower but the reception staff very quickly changed it to one with a bath which we prefer. The room was clean and comfortable with lovely big towels...always a plus! Breakfast was standard for this sort of hotel more than adequate, though I didn't really like the tea from a flask! We were lucky to be in Oxford on the one nice day of Easter week!!

Some good points and some not so good points. Room was lovely, fresh linen, tidy and good WiFi. Restaurant was very average despite the young girl yanice doing everything to appease me. Front desk was hit and miss with the ladies seeming a little nervous and unfriendly, gentlemen were much friendlier. Location is down a nice quiet street so not much street noise. 20 minute walk to major sites in oxford or a very expensive taxi ride to the city ($12) but back to the hotel it is only $6. This has all the hallmarks of a good hotel but lacks a friendlier check in and out experience. I will revisit in September 2018 and will consider reviewing again.

Booking was easy, 2 family rooms 23 & 25, they tried to get us next to each other so this wasn't a bad effort. Check in time is in the afternoon, so if you arrive earlier then you either have to pay to park there of on the road where we found max of 3 hours. We decided that in the hotel car park was preferable so that's what we did. We then went out and caught the tourist special on and off bus, which took us all over Oxford. We hopped on and off, finding attractions, shops and places to eat. Late in the evening we arrived for check in. The check in staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. We were very happy with the rooms. Two double beds (very comfortable with plenty of pillows and a nice duvet), modern shower room, plenty of towels, tea coffee and hot chocolate making, ironing kit, safe, clothes storage, hairdryer, etc. After checking in, dumping in suitcases and a freshen up, we went to the bar. The bar had a reasonably good selection of drinks and was manned by Vit. The young fella had only been at the hotel for a short while. He was an absolute credit to the hotel. Looked after us well, engaged in conversation and was a very genuine and pleasant young guy. His parents should be very proud of him. After a couple of drinks we went to bedrooms , showered and turned in. We all enjoyed our sleep. We got up in the morning, packed and went for breakfast. Met up with Vit again, who served us with coffee and tea. The restaurant was comfortable, plenty of space between tables. The choice of breakfast was good, I was however disappointed that the bacon wasn't crispy at all, but all other was good. After finishing breakfast and final pack we checked out. The staff again were very pleasant and after paying wished us a good day, we were then on our way.

We spent two nights here recently. The hotels location was great for us. We like a walk and it was around a mile from Oxford although plenty of buses too. Staff on reception were very pleasant and efficient. We were met by Lidie, who was lovely. Room was as you would expect, very clean and well equipped. Public areas: bar, restaurant and lounge were also very comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant and staff efficient.

A well-maintained, spotlessly clean room with a decent TV, a comfortable bed and other really good facilities, delightful staff, a great buffet-style cooked breakfast, a quiet and peaceful location down an attractive side street, decent (albeit limited) parking - really everything you could possibly want from a small city hotel, and nothing you don't want. Not too far from the centre of Oxford either - we walked it in 15 minutes, but the nearest bus stop is literally right at the end of the road if you're not feeling particularly energetic. A late-night cab ride back was only £6. We had a super stay - highly recommended..

Was worried we were not going to make it because of the foul weather but staff were very helpful and welcoming when we did arrive covered in snow. The room was spotless, breakfast ample and would certainly like to visit again

Comfortable room with all necessary ingredients. Attentive and pleasant young staff. Satisfying morning buffet. Were forced to stay longer than intended by the 'Beast' but staff very helpful and flexible. Restaurant offers no frills meals and a limited menu.

A good base for a short stay in Oxford. The location is good as you can walk into the centre in about 20 - 25 minutes and as the hotel is situated just off of the Banbury Road there are also plenty of buses you could use if you didn't fancy the walk. Hotel was clean and the staff friendly, bedroom was a good size however the shower room was a bit on the small size, it wasn't a problem for us but it did feel slightly cramped. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice but sometimes you had to make a couple of trips to get everything you wanted as staff were constantly taking dishes away to replenish them. There was also not much space for you to rest the hot lids of the dishes whilst you dished up. We had a lovely stay.

We spent a night here while meeting up with friends. The room was comfortable and cosy, there was free parking until check out time then £2 per hour, buffet breakfast was fine, wifi worked well. It was lovely to walk into Oxford and stay in a quiet, residential area.

Stayed here for a night before a meeting at the Uni just down the road. I had an upgraded room because of my BW status. Check in staff very pleasant & helpful. On the ground floor which was quite unusual. Big room, a little cold when I arrived but the very efficient radiator once opened up soon had it up to temp. & it was around 0 Deg outside. Room was good to work in with a nice desk, although long term the chair was a bit uncomfortable. Excellent WiFi. Good tea making facilities with plentiful supplies. Nice bathroom with a good shower. Didn't eat dinner as I worked in the room. Breakfast was plentiful & fresh. Ideal location as I was able to walk to the customer in the morning & if you wanted to its a reasonable walk to the city centre. Check out painless & a good price for a city based hotel.

The location was excellent, with free parking, and the room comfortable although the en suite was definitely compact, with the loo squeezed in in such a way that anyone with long legs would have had problems. They would have been able to reach the towel shelf, though, which was nearly at ceiling height! As others have commented, the sound proofing wasn't great, and we were able to hear the people above us moving around. The breakfast had an excellent range of continental and cooked items, but when I pointed out to one of the staff that one of the toast machines wasn't working properly I expected more than a shrug and the response "I know". Having stayed in a number of Holiday Inn Expresses recently I don't think this was worth the extra money.

We booked the Linton Lodge as it was in easy walking distance from the town centre and many nearby attractions (about half an hour walk to the city centre) with bus stops at the end of the road for those who prefer public transport. The location suited us, as did the excellent value for 3 adults in the room. Our room had a double bed and a sofa bed (which were comfortable). The room was clean, made up and available even though we arrived hours before check in. The shower is adequate though not great pressure and there were complimentary shower products, and the mirror had a demist area to avoid condensation. We found the staff to be helpful, pleasant and courteous. The breakfast was included in our package (otherwise around £10 for continental and £13 for full breakfast from the breakfast buffet). We were particularly pleased at the inclusion of Weetabix amongst the cereals. We ate in the restaurant in the evening. We had asked in advance for a dish not on the menu, and the chef obliged brilliantly. The whole meal was delicious and excellent value for money - well worth trying. Wine, if you choose to have it, is around £5-6 per glass or £17-20 per bottle. There is free car parking between the official check-in and check-out times and £2 an hour outside those times. Street parking is free for 3 hours. The staff were helpful, the room comfortable and the stay just what we wanted. Thanks!

Great hotel with excellent staff, always willing to help and very friendly ,ideal place to stay if your visiting Oxford ,short walk into the town with parking at the hotel .Food was very good especially the breakfast great way to start the day.Would definitely stop here again when in Oxford

Easy to use your car to visit the local area or bus into City. Executive room was well appointed, clean and comfortable and bathroom modern and clean. The restaurant served quality food at a reasonable price and was not too crowded. The breakfasts had a lot of choice from cereal to a hot serve your self selection that was restocked regularly. The bus stop for a 10 minute ride into Oxford centre; so much to see and do here; is only a 5 minute walk away with a very regular bus service. Car parking at the Hotel is free for the length of your stay but no longer than that. Outside these time you will be charged but that ensures that paying guests always have off street parking. Near to the city centre but peaceful.Staff were polite and helpful. We had to leave a day early due to unforeseen family circumstances but the Manager, Keith, sorted out a refund. Would definitely stay here again

We had a really good stay here. The rooms were fine, the staff polite and the food excellent. The hotel is only 5 min walk from the bus stop which goes to the city centre in about 10 min. The taxi fare from the station is about £8.00. On our last night, we were going into town but were too tired. We ate in the restaurant and it was excellent. Thank goodness we did not go into town. The two breakfast we have had were hot, plenty of choice and well cooked I would come back here anytime.

Came with friends twice recently for lunch, once for Sunday lunch and the other mid-week. On Sundays they do a fabulous set lunch, £13.95 for 3 courses, including a roast. There is plenty of choice for everyone. During the week they have a set menu (slightly more expensive) and a good a la carte menu. The food and service is very good. It's not an overly crowed place, so if you you're looking for good food in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere than definitely give it a go!

I paid only £65 for a twin room with breakfast - unbeatable value in Oxford. Free parking too! Decor and furnishings were nice in the public rooms and the bedroom. Only real issue was that the shower hose needed a jolly good scrub.

Lovely quiet setting (however, we did go out of term time so no idea what it is like when the students return) & only a mile or so from Oxford city centre so easy to walk there & back. However, if you can avoid it do not opt for breakfast, it is dire (unless of course you enjoy cold or very lukewarm scrambled eggs & beans for breakfast). Buffet style & I am afraid there is nothing positive I can report - we are veggie & certainly did not get accommodated but even our meat eating friends were unhappy. Serving staff surly & non communicative. Arrived a few hours early so was charged £2 parking although we were spending nearly £500 between us for a 2 night stay! Room had 3 large cobwebs over the bed & there was what appeared to be mould in the shower (don't expect a power shower) We were on the ground floor & staff were continually banging around outside the room from 6/7 am - not sure what they were doing but it woke us up & continued so we could not get back to sleep. Don't like leaving negative reviews but I am afraid for what they charge it was poor.

We stayed over the Xmas period for our annual visit to the area and this particular hotel,,clean staff polite,our room was good but the only negative was the bath creaked loudly when taking a shower and the decor looked tired and needs updating paint cracked on ceiling and walls ,overall we like the location and the hotel having visited many times before!

Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner. The hotel is around a 20/30 minute walk from the city centre. The walk into town is beautiful and you pass various colleges on the way. The hotel was modern, clean and warm. The room had good tea making facilities and everything else you would need. In my opinion the mattress was very firm which is fine if you are used to this. Parking is great and was a key reason we chose this hotel. We managed to park inside in the hotels front car park. The only down side to this hotel was unfortunately the noise between rooms. The walls/ceilings are very thin and you can hear other customers in their rooms; going to the toilet, talking, tv, walking around Etc. We were in a ground floor room and could regularly hear people in the room above walking around, closing doors etc. The ceiling was creeking massively and made it impossible to sleep without wearing ear plugs/ until the room above had gone to to bed themselves- a real shame. This is more than likely a structural problem with the hotel so I'm unsure whether it could be fixed or whether it is better on higher floors? Because of this we didn't sleep much. All in all however we had a great stay in Oxford.

Stayed for a two night stay, weekend break for my partners birthday weekend. Very friendly greeting which included all information without asking. When we next passed the reception desk, the person who checked us in asked if the room was ok and we were happy with it. Car parking on site, but this is limited. However, we arrived at 2.30pm for a 3pm check in and there was spaces. There is also plenty of permit parking spaces outside the hotel which the hotel has a pass for. The street was a quiet street as well. Room a good base and has everything you need as well as being clean. Bed was comfortable. The hotel is a 20/30min walk to town which is easy to find your way. Bus stop just down the road as well as taxi was reasonable price. However, there is one big big downside. That is the noise between the rooms. We noticed it first at nighttime and it was like the ceiling was going to come though! Partly this was because the person above us was walking about all night, had tv on loud, tap running all night and while hotel cannot do anything about other people being inconsiderate the walls/floor definitely allows sound to travel. We were on the ground floor, so perhaps this made it worse. Shame, as otherwise couldn't really fault this place.

Stayed for two nights between Christmas and new year, not a massive room but clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable, perfect location to walk into city centre, would definitely stay again. My only issue was my room 30 was next to cleaners cupboard so in morning was a little noisy

We stayed here in a large group. The rooms were excellent value. Spacious and spotless no qualms at all. We took over the little lounge in the evening rearranging furniture and prob left it all in a mess. The staff were delightful ... so kind and never complained at all. Breakfast was fab ... highly recommended.

Returned to Best Western Linton Lodge after several previous visits. It is very comfortable, friendly and welcoming staff and on site parking. It is within walking distance of city centre. Took advantage of winter deal which included breakfast.

Excellent value for money. Good double room, very good and friendly service, brilliant breakfast, iron , ironing board, tea and coffee in room (though would have liked Fair-trade.) Quiet. Will definitely go again.

Needed a hotel close to Banbury Rd for an evening business appointment, found this hotel via Best Western, and for two reasons; 1: not used Best Western before 2: the price of a pre paid room with breakfast at Linton Lodge £59; compared to every other hotel and B&B in the neighbourhood I was a bit sceptical, however for the perfect location to enjoy the nightlife of Banbury Rd, on such a quiet back street it proved to be a great choice. The hotel is very modern, off road parking, small room but an excellent standard, with everything you could want, and everywhere spotless. Service was very efficient rather than friendly, which is good with me. Breakfast was efficient again with ok quality, this place is definitely on the list to use again. The only point I would change is not filter coffee from a leaky tea pot at breakfast but quality espresso. But secure a reasonable price and I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Another successful evening with an excellent Christmas dinner and great service. This time we stayed for two nights as we have moved away from Oxford. The room was comfortable and very reasonably priced for an Oxford hotel and the breakfast buffet was better than some four star hotels with more choice and hot food. Booked again for 2018.

Room was clean, excellent room service. The hair dryer blew and someone brought us another straight away. Evening meal was a bit hit and miss and breakfast was disappointing. A little out of the city centre but the city sight seeing stop passes nearby.

good hotel great for oxford. can get closer for same money. not suited for party. quite stuffy, meant for old people i think!maybe need to educate staff that young people may wish to use bar bast 10.30pm

This is a great hotel. Small but very well appointed rooms. Slept very well on the comfortable bed. The Wifi works well. Off street parking was a plus for us. The breakfast items were substantial and satisfying. The staff were friendly and helpful. Stylish reception and bar area.

Lovely hotel. I had a very nice twin bed room with two double beds! The facilities include a hairdryer, iron with board, tea and coffee and also hot chocolate and biscuits. There was a safe, but I couldn't find instructions for it. The dining room was very nice. The evening meals were delicious. The breakfast was average. Coffee at breakfast didn't have milk in a jug with it - I like hot milk as well. One time there wasn't any egg and another time no bread for toast. I'm sure they would have been replaced, but I didn't want to wait around. The reception and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I would say exceptional value for money. I managed the half hour walk into Oxford High Street even in the snow and it would be a lovely walk in better weather! My friend was staying in a much more upmarket hotel in the High Street and I had dinner at hers one evening and it wasn't anywhere near as good as the one I had at the Linton Lodge!

Nice hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable. The only drawback is that my room was noisy. It's an old property hence not sound insulated and there was some plumbing noise. Having said that, everything else was fine. Just bring some ear plugs.

This is a very well appointed little hotel, maintained to a high standard, very clean and comfortable. (Personally I found the bed too hard but that's just me.) Super breakfast, and all the staff were very friendly. Car park is free between the stated check in/out times, £2/hour otherwise. 3 hours max free parking on the road outside. About 20 mins walk to the centre.

Cold rooms that took a while to warm up. Sink had separate hot and cold taps. Fairly spacious for a European hotel. Breakfast was not included in the rooms and was not very good. Rooms were clean and staff was nice.

We stayed here for my boyfriends graduation - it was reasonably priced and near the city centre. Location is great and you can find some great restaurants within a 20 minute walk. The room is nice enough - seems to be recently refurbished and was very comfortable - the bathroom probably let the space down a bit seeming dated and not the cleanest! However the real letdown was the sound! We must of been staying on a corridor with a group of guests who were running around the corridors, opening and closing doors all night and shouting along the corridor- the real problem was that all of these noises were loud and clear in our room- we had to call to reception and although they sent someone up the party continued all night- this really ruined our stay. Management should think about the placing for large and noisy parties - preferably away from other guests!

We stayed for two nights 3/4 November 2017. The Hotel is well located for public transport and if in the mood will only take approximately 20 minutes to walk to the centre of Oxford. The Hotel is very clean and we had a rather large double room but it could have done with a little tlc but it was very clean, quite and well appointed. with little touches like a well stocked tea/coffee tray, ironing board plus an iron of course also on the desk mints , water and lip balm! The staff were very friendly and three cheers go to Daria and Alexi very helpful front of desk staff. The breakfast buffet was continually being stocked through out breakfast service and anything that wasn't in view you only had to ask and if available was brought to you. There were four other members of our family staying and they all agree with me as well. The only thing was that slightly worrying was that the fire alarm went off on the early Saturday evening. The alarm system worked well but the supervision of guests and staff evacuation was pathetic no checks at all .Also what miffed us that we arrived early and had to pay parking charge till the appointed check in time. I do understand that people can take advantage of on site parking but probably some sort of arrangement could be met with having a block booking. Will defiantly be back in the future.

Fortunately I booked only one night at the hotel. I've got a room on the ground floor overlooking the parking lot and next to the kitchen. Very loud noise stopped around 1 AM and around 5 AM cleaning staff and also probably kitchen staff started to be very loud. No shower gel, very loud ventilation in the bathroom. I will definitely not be back.

I stayed 3 nights in October 2017. The Hotel is nicely located close to the College I had a meeting (3 minutes walking) . The room was good, very clean, bathroom spotless, the bed was comfortable and clean, No strange smells such as overwhelming perfumed linen and such. Staff was efficient. I lost my room door card and the girl in reception gave me another on the spot (no charges). I had to stay one morning working in the room and when I left they had left outside the door a bag full of new towels, no need really. Mineral water , coffee and tea-boiler are there free ( I only used the mineral water which I was not charged for). The only curios things I found (hence a 4 rating) was that in the sink there are separate taps for cold and hot water. So if you don't like to fill up the sink (which I never do for hygienic reasons ) and tempering the water you end up having to use the cold water tap, as the other tap gives off water too hot. But I guess separated taps are the norm in the UK, right? Breakfast was OK . Someone mentioned shower head water stream too weak, but I find it quite acceptable and saves water. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and I would return myself. Ah there is a grocery about ten minutes walk in the main road.

I enjoyed being able to join friends here for breakfast on 2 consecutive mornings for a special family occasion. The dining room was very busy and we did have to remind staff to bring pots of tea or coffee but the rest was self-service buffet style and I would say for that reason the cooked breakfast was average. Our evening meal, on the other hand, was very good indeed - all courses having been pre-ordered for our group.

I stayed here for a Saturday night as it was very well located for a family wedding. Arrived at midday and was underwhelmed by exterior look of hotel. However there was free parking for guests. However amazed to find room ready so early! The room was tucked away along some corridors and up some stairs (believe there is a lift too). Room was excellently appointed and lovely new bathroom. Hot drinks in room + biscuits and little gifts (mints and lip balm). Nice comfy bed and decent tv. Room felt a little too hot, and I couldn't find an easy way to cool the room down. Although bathroom looked nice and new it was a little cramped and the shower had one of those huge shower heads, but the flow wasn't too strong. Breakfast was average - good content on food, but the hot element was tepid to warm at best. Had to flag down staff to get a pot of tea / coffee. So in summary not really 4star, but better than 3. However it wouldn't take much to get to the next level.

This is my 3rd visit in the hotel and by far the most impressive. I was I room 14, clean, good size and facilities. Minor problem with the shower knob I forgot to mention but very minor. Bed was very comfortable, had a great nights sleep What surprised me was the food. They do a great menu of the day 3 courses for £20. Good was excellent as was the service. Looking forward to staying again

Very pleasant stay in this hotel for three nights. Comfortable and helpfull friendly staff. Breakfast facilities are good. Rooms are clean and tidy and good beds. The walking distance to the centre is not correct mentioned in a few reviews. You need more than 10 minutes for a distance of 1.5 miles.

Stayed here for two nights on the Tesco Reward scheme, the location was excellent, in a quiet street, only a few minutes away from the bus stop to access the city centre. Reception is modern and bright and staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was adequate for a short stay, although the bed was a small double and there wasn't much storage for clothes, should you require it. The television was a good size but it was impossible to watch anything as the reception was so poor that if a car went past or someone moved a muscle the picture froze or scrambled. After a long day's sight-seeing it would have been nice to relax and watch TV. The breakfast was a buffet offering scrambled eggs or other types to order. However no-one asked if this was required and having had to ask for milk both mornings for coffee and cereal, we decided that it would have taken the staff too long to oblige and settled for the option readily available. It's a shame that these little things made for a lukewarm review of an otherwise lovely trip.

This little hotel was perfect for us. It's in a quiet residential area, rooms are fresh and very clean, tv works well, comfortable beds and good shower. Our only small issue was we could hear the guests in the room above us, but they were quiet at a reasonable time and we slept fine. Breakfast wasn't included in our stay so we didn't end up eating here and can't comment on the restaurant. For anyone who doesn't walk, plan on taking a taxi because it's about a 35 minute walk into the centre. Altogether, we would recommend this hotel as a very good budget option.

I arrived on Saturday and was given the card for my room, an executive room !!, walk into the room and think its a little tired, and go to make a cup of tea, no problem, go to run the bath which is way smaller than normal and find there is mould in the tile joints and under the window, look down and the bath panel is rotten plus there are some unusual stains on the shower curtain, walk back into the room and start to look round there are two stains on the curtains. and what looks like coffee stains on the wall. All for £210 / night, my advice is go elsewhere, this should not be like this in 2017, maybe it was ok in 1960 but things have moved on. My only recommendation is look elsewhere.

You need wifi?...run, run run away... from this hotel. It was supposed to be with wifi. In fact, neither with my iphone 7 or my iPad 3: impossible to connect properly. Very bad experience. I wanted a reliable connection. Is it so hard in Oxford to have a solid wifi connection, in 2017???? Too bad.

A pretty good Best Western Hotel. Normal mix of helpful staff from various European countries giving better service than the "can't be bothered" UK staff. The room was massive and it had a lovely garden. Parking was a bit tight on spaces but there is a hidden car-park out the back. The food was really nice. Can't remember what we had as it was a while since we were there (I tend to do reviews in blocks) but it was lovely. Good job peeps.

The reception staff were not helpful at all, their command of English was poor, they were incapable of smiling, didn't bother to speak or look up when you pass reception. The room was supposed to be an executive family room, but it was only an executive double. I phoned about the second room 2 weeks in advance to say it should be twin rooms not a double but of course it was a double. It was difficult on the phone to communicate with the lack of reasonable spoken English.

excellent stay near to local transport staff very helpful had been booked into a room on the 1st floor and had a lift but some awkward stairs to contend with staff on reception were so helpful and changed my room to a ground floor breakfast fine but the hot buffet items were dry so I kept to the continental items restaurant lounge and bar had a good selection would use the hotel again

My wife and I stayed at Linton Lodge as we were meeting some friends for lunch and the to go punting. We were fortunate that our room was ready even though it was well before the official check-in time. The reception staff could not have been more welcoming. However the real point is that my wife had an accident when trying to get on the punt and ended up in the river. When we got back to the hotel the receptionists took all the wet clothes and put them in the tumble dryer - and didn't charge us anything, A miserable problem just disappeared thanks to them. We had a good breakfast - some nice fresh fruit and (freshly cooked) full English was a nice indulgence. My only issue is the price - which is high like everywhere in Oxford - hence four rather than five stars.

We stayed here on a Saturday night. It's in a nice, leafy part of Oxford and a taxi into the centre was only £5. Check in was easy and professional. Our room was number 20 on the ground floor. It was a bit small but well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was decent. We would happily return here.

I was told the hotel was recently refurbished. Everything does look relatively new and working, comfortable bed, room cleaned everyday and quality toiletries. If anything to complaint is the waiting staffs in the restaurant. Some need more trainings to appear more attentive and warm towards customers. We had breakfast and dinner there. Breakfast was decent but the same thing everything morning so after the forth time, we already got tired of the food. For dinner, there's not much to choose from but the quality is ok. The university park is some 15 minutes walk from the hotel and is the natural museum. So if the weather is good, do walk to these places. All in all, it's a good place to stay.

A nice hotel, situated in a side road in Summertown area of Oxford. The hotel was impressing me especially because of the standard offered. It is not rated extraordinary high or offers special equipment or highlights. It is just a clean, quiet and friendly house. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly. The restaurant is offering various breakfast choices and lunch and dinner ala' card or buffet. The food is good on typical English price level. The hotel offers in front or backside parking. Not luxury big but sufficient. The hotel will see me as guest again.

We returned to Oxford to attend our son's wedding at Jesus College and decided to stay at the BW Linton Lodge rather than in College. The hotel was excellent. The service was first class and the staff were efficient and always helpful. We will be returning to Oxford frequently in the future and we will certainly stay at the hotel again. We recommend the BW LintonLodge to you too.

I stayed at this hotel for about 10 days with a group. The strength of Linton Lodge is its friendly, attentive, and accommodating staff. Even though they are a multi-national (and multi-lingual) staff, they truly seemed to enjoy working together and serving the guests which is a reflection of good management.

A lovely traditional lodge. Hotel was clean and comfortable, staff were helpful, polite and friendly, Bar and restaurant reasonably priced for a hotel. Quiet location away from any main roads within walking distance of all the museums and colleges. Lots of regular public transport and the 'hop on hop off' stops just just along the road. Would definitely visit again.

The room would have been a little crowded if actually used as a double, but for me alone it was just about OK. It had been refurbished, fairly recently I guess, but there were some indications, especially in the bathroom, that it had been done on the cheap. Given the relatively high prices that can be and are charged in Oxford, because of the demand for accommodation there, and the higher profit margins that then are possible, skimping on things suggests that the owners are more intent on maximising profits than customer comfort. The internal walls are not well sound proofed - telephone ring tones, ordinary conversations, and TV/radio sounds from the next room were all too audible. The Wi-Fi connection was initially a little complex but I soon sorted it, and it worked OK, with a download speed of about 5Mps. Adequate buffet breakfast. Free off-road parking. Twenty minutes walk to the town centre.

The hotel is close to Lady Margaret Hall - a 10 minutes walk. It will be about GBP 8 to take a taxi from the train station to this hotel, or a 20 minutes walk. Staff are friendly. The elevator door didn't work very well so be patient. The room is small and there is no air conditioning. The window can only be opened a little bit. There's a electric fan though. There's a safe in the room which is great. The standard English breakfast is good.

The hotel is clean and the room was well appointed. The buffet breakfast is not exceptional but has everything you expect. Staff on reception are pleasant those in the breakfast room get on with the job but are not particularly friendly. The shower in our room did not always give hot water. It is a good location for visiting, the are of Summertown just up the road is a good alternative to the City for an evening meal.

I stayed here for one night whilst on business. The hotel is situated in a residential area near summer town in oxford. Not too far to walk to the shops although I could only find one pub which was a bit of a pain. However it was a nice one with good food. The hotel is well presented and fairly modern, I was greeted by a nice guy at reception. He gave me my room key which was on the ground floor, I mentioned that I had requested a 1st floor room. He offered to move me but suggested that I checked his room choice 1st. I'm glad I did as it was huge and well equipped. Iron, hairdryer, tea/coffee iPod dock, alarm clock and toiletries. Located near the back on the hotel so it was very peaceful. Breakfast was included and there was a good selection although it wasn't very hot. All in all a good hotel, despite some negative comments on here I was pleasantly surprised.

Had an Executive Room, reasonably large room, but the chairs provided need replacing as they are not comfortable. Decor is in good order in the main part of the building. Can't comment about the area to the back of the hotel. Restaurant staff were attentive without being intrusive. Food was good and served in a reasonable time. Breakfast, in keeping with too many hotels now has a hot buffet. The problem lies in keeping the food warm under lamps and on hot plates tends to dry out the food. Black pudding was hard skinned and rubbery inside, and hash browns were starting to dry out.

I stayed here for 2 nights as I was going to the prom concert at Blenheim palace I had picnic food and it was no trouble for them to find me a cold place to put it in. I had 3 little gripes firstly the breakfast on both mornings was only luke warm and if we wanted milk for tea/coffee in my room,I had to make a trip to reception!! Other than that the staff were so very helpful and friendly, rooms were nicely decorated but oh that lift was so jumpy. I did make a comment to the cleaning manager having a meeting on the landing just outside the lift on floor 2, very unprofessional for a hotel! would I stay again? Happily

Newly renovated and within 15-20 mins walking distance of the University campuses. Quiet Hotel, free parking, good restaurant. We had excellent service, and recommend this hotel to those visiting Oxford

This hotel has parking!! Just up the road are busses into the centre. The hotel is clean, modern and has a good resto. When we return, we will stay here. Driving to the centre of Oxford is not a great experience, so do stay where you can park. We found the Pear Tree Park and Ride great. They also accepted the bus pass!! So it cost us just £2 for all day parking!! We do realise that some people are even younger than us, but, even so, a great way to visit the city.

I recently had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for 14 consecutive nights during a visit to Oxford. It is a comfortable friendly hotel who cares about their guests. It is extremely close to the city centre and also 2 minutes from a bus stop which will take you into town if you don't want to make the 10 minute walk. The front desk was very concerned with my comfort and the restaurant has amazing food. The chicken dinner with spinach and mushrooms was my favorite! I am American and happened to be there during a heat wave and the staff cheerfully put up with my fixation on ice in my drinks! The front desk will help you with directions and call taxis or car services for you. The garden is a great place to unwind after a long day! This is a great place to stay if you are in Oxford!

We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Oxford because all the other hotels we tried were full. Our room on the ground floor was very basic and faced the bins making it noisy and staff chatted outside our window. The only meals we had were breakfasts, which were good. The staff at Monday breakfast were very poor, but on Tuesday a different shift were excellent. I won't rush back ...

Good location. Shower was mouldy. Bathroom very cramped. Service very slow and chaotic. Quality of reception staff mixed. One excellent. Other not. Cold latte. When asked to replace luke warm mild added. No improvement but charged for it.

This was a lovely place to stay while in Oxford. Staff was very friendly and quite helpful. Being only a brief 10 min walk to the main part of Oxford it was pleasantly quiet but close to shops and such. As I was doing work at St. Hughes college it was quite close (4 min walk) it is also quite close to Kellog college and Summerville. Rooms were quite clean and well cared for. I would and will certainly stay again.

Chose this hotel chain hoping for quality and was disappointed with overall experience. The room was not up to standard with the main issue being heating. Room was let with faults that required fixing before letting of the room. A quick fix was a oil heater which kept blowing the fuse. The receptionist was extremely helpful and very apologetic. In the end had to put up with cold room for the night as no other rooms were available. Outside temp was -6 as was the room . Extra blankets were supplied. Management did apologise in the form of free breakfast and 50% off the rate which did little to appease our disappointment. Only good thing was it's location to the city centre. There is probably better options in and around Oxford to choose from. Definitely not up to Best Western standards at time of stay.

Located within easy walking distance from the city centre, this chain hotel ticks the corporate boxes without ever exceeding them. The room, whilst clean felt dated. The staff are friendly and competent.

I stay in Oxford regularly and was recently forced to try Linton Lodge because my usual B&B has adopted the annoying policy of only taking two-day bookings on the weekend. You can at least stay a single night here, and it has the merit of being in north Oxford, which is the nicest part of town, and a comfortable 10-minute walk to the centre. The area is quiet and residential, the rooms are clean and everything worked. That said, Linton Lodge is a soulless corporate affair. My heart sank on arrival when I was asked to pay to use the car park. You can only park on the street outside for a couple of hours, so you basically have no option but to cough up. It gets your stay off to a terrible start, and in the unlikely event the management read these reviews, I would urge them to stop ripping customers off for parking. My room was overpriced and devoid of charm, though it was perfectly possible to sleep well there. The breakfasts, at £16 a go, cost about four times what they're worth, and I would suggest you to go a cafe in town rather than pay through the nose for a poor quality fry up here. The staff were adequate but, as always when you get people on low pay implementing the corporate policies of a chain hotel, their hearts didn't seem in it, and I don't blame them. With careful planning you can avoid bland hotels like Linton Lodge and stay in north Oxford for less money at a better B&B. I'd recommend the colleges, which offer rooms during the academic holidays, or one of the independent B&Bs along the Banbury Road.

The welcome at reception was less than welcoming. There's nothing like feeling you are a hindrance to immediately put you off a place. Our receptionist was blunt to the point of rude, repeatedly asking us to repeat ourselves (i'm from Oxford originally, so my accent is hardly difficult to understand) and everything felt like it WAS too much trouble! We had specifically requested no ground floor room on booking. Guess what we were given? She was not impressed when we explained this and asked to be moved. This attitude extended further to a woman next to us who had just booked last minute online. She was told that there weren't any rooms available in a very rude way. Well, how was she able to book then? Unfortunately the starting point in Reception's attitude was immediately 'No' rather than 'how can I help?' We chose this hotel as my mother has stayed here many times in the last eight years, but she found the level of service has gone downhill hugely. The room itself was nice, but still absolutely boiling hot (the heatwave was well over by this point). We had our fan on all night which at least blocked out the sound of the car park below. Water pressure In the shower was weak. Breakfast was fine, and waiting staff were attentive and helpful, but I've paid the same amount in London hotels for a much more extensive choice. Overall a very expensive stay for a very, very average hotel. You are paying for location. There is so much choice in Oxford that unfortunately we won't be returning.

I stayed one night in the Linton Lodge in June 2017. My main gripe would be that the hotel was totally ill equipped to deal with the unseasonal hot weather but it's also a bit dated. The rooms have no air conditioning which the staff said usually is not a problem but when it hits over 30 degrees outside then it is a problem. The room was so uncomfortable due to how hot it was that it was necessary to take a cold shower in the middle of the night to cool down. The linen even felt like a polyester mix rather than cotton. The rooms also have carpet - I can honestly say I haven't stayed in a hotel room with carpet in close to a decade. My room stayed disgustingly hot even when the temerature outside started to cool as the windows faced a small laneway and was surrounded by other buildings. I was also charged £50 for an early check-in which seemed it was 50% of a full night stay so that felt llike I was being totally ripped off. I don't mind paying for an early check-in but I've never been charged anything like 50% of the room rate before. The hotel is a bit dated. The only good thing was the staff. They were all very pleasant and polite, and had the good grace to feel embarrassed that the hotel was so poorly equipped to deal with the hot weather.

This is an ideal place to base yourself for exploring Oxford and the region. Clean, good breakfast, efficient staff, free parking and wifi, you don't need much more. It is a bit "corporate" but that's ok. We were happy.

I visited Oxford with my daughter as she was attending a taster day at one of the colleges. We were looking for somewhere inexpensive, comfortable, within walking distance of the centre & with free parking. This Best Western ticked all the boxes and turned out to be perfect for us. There was adequate parking and we were able to leave our car there after checkout for a small charge. The hotel and our room looked like it had been recently refurbished. The room was a good size, good sized shower room & with all the nice extras, such as a safe, ironing board etc. Since it was during a heatwave we did notice the lack of AC but this had been offset with the provision of a fan. There is a lovely garden at the rear which was great for an early evening drink, as the sun goes down. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was nice. All in all it was great value and I'd definitely go back.

Stayed for three nights. Room comfortable, clean and well maintained. Breakfasts were fine with good bacon and sausage. Dinner slightly disappointing. Mediocre menu and food nothing special. Staff could be better. Despite being asked to q when coming in, on two occasions we were then left to find our own table as the waitress just turned her back. Bit of training required.

This place is great. Close to the centre and there is a bus service which includes a night bus a short walk away. Car parking available. Room comfortable and clean. Shower was hot and the shower gel etc was great.

This hotel is in a good location close to Bus transport to town. You can also walk to town and attractions if you want. The hotel has good safe parking. The service was great with a good restaurant. The bed was great four poster and comfortable.

The Lodge is conveniently situated for bus transport, is in a pretty, and quiet street, and is walking distance to university colleges and downtown area. The main common areas are impeccable, seem newly renovated. Staff are very nice and helpful, and we enjoyed the excellent cooked or continental breakfasts. HOWEVER, our room was a different matter. Dowdy, and much in need of renovation, or at the very least, a coat of fresh paint. Certainly did not appear to be vacuumed in the 3 days we stayed. There were other omissions in the room cleaning process, like leaving behind the full trash bags that were replaced in the bins. This sounds petty to mention, but the overall impression of the room was simply not one of cleanliness. The walls were very grubby. But worst was the bathroom. The bathtub and surrounds had caulking that was black with mold in places, had many open gaps, and didn't look as if it had been done by a professional. Because the bathroom was small, one was obliged to be in close contact with this. Lying on the bed, one looked up at areas damaged by water leaks and not restored afterwards. Like another commentator, we arrived travel-weary and earlier than the 3 pm checkin. Staff very kindly allowed us to take up our room, but we also had to pay the hourly rate of GBP 2 for our car until our free guest parking officially kicked in at 3 pm. It seemed petty.

On one hand the hotel is well located, recently refurbished, good reception staff and well appointed bedroom. Very clean and tidy and certainly easy to find. On the other hand, it was the smallest double bed I have ever slept in, a very cramped bathroom (my knees touched the bath when I was sitting on the toilet), very little if any soundproofing, we could hear people walking around in the room above us, and the service in the restaurant at breakfast was not great. I would add for feedback purposes that the sausages were overcooked and dry, no fried eggs and if you want anything other than a standard coffee, it costs extra. We arrived earlier than the check in time and it was good that we were given a room immediately, but it was rather poor of them to charge parking at £2 per hour up till the check in time. Would I stay there again? If I could be assured of a bigger bed and a bigger bathroom. May be worth checking if you are 6' or over.

Stayed here for one night with the family. The hotel could not have been more helpful. Great rooms, friendly staff and great location. It is an ideal place to stay with regular buses into the centre of town. Would certainly stay here again.

I stayed here for 3 nights in May 2017. The single room was located on the ground floor with a window to the garden and had a very quiet location. I slept well in this room. it was clean and was generally in a good condition. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast. Parking is free when you are staying at the hotel.. If there is parked 2 tour busses or more outside the hotel in the evening, you should go to the breakfast room at 7 am or very late. Otherwise you will not find an available table.

Stayed on the ground floor, no opening window, very smelly bathroom (must have been sewage). Coffee at breakfast very weak, service in dining room poor. Not the sort of experience we expected from Best Western.

We stayed one night with friends following a Morse tour - very good! - the receptionists were very welcoming and the rooms very clean and tidy with small but good en-suite facilities. Breakfast aplenty with good choices and would have rated this 5 overall but just found the cooked breakfast scrambled eggs slightly cold and bacon slightly underdone for my taste but plenty of tea, coffee, toast with choice if jams and pastries.Plenty of parking and if you want to stay later than checkout time there is a charge of £2 per hour which is worthwhile if you wanted a further 25 minute stroll into Oxford again.

Visited Oxford for two nights as tourists. Linton is in a great location, situated on a beautiful tree lined road, it is only 20 minutes walk from the centre of Oxford with all its wonderful buildings. The hotel has a car park which is a plus point. If the car park in front is full don't panic, there is another one at the rear. The staff were all very friendly. The restaurant provided us with very tasty evening meals. Our room was great - very clean, comfortable and had a lovely bathroom with a walk in shower. When we visit Oxford again we shall certainly try to stay at the Linton again.

Myself, my partner and four friends stayed for one night whilst celebrating our friends' silver wedding anniversary. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, the reception area was pleasant and welcoming and, although we didn't make use of them, the bar area and dining room looked very nice. There is also a pleasant, comfortable lounge area off the reception. Our rooms were all very spacious, clean, well furnished and comfortable and the hotel was well located for easy access by foot into the city centre, as well as having the added bonus of plenty of free parking space. All in all, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel should I visit Oxford again and I'm sure my friends would agree!

Modern hotel with first class facilities with good local transport into the city.The hotel s position in a quiet beautiful tree lined avenue and yet only minutes away from the city centre.The two receptionists on arrival were extremely efficient but genuinely friendly &helpful. We had an an accessible room complete with large modern wet room with plenty of large white fluffy towels.The bedroom was a good size with a lovely comfy bed,chairs and desk a good sized wardrobe and fan,hairdryer and kettle complete with welcome tray filled with plenty of tea ,coffee hot chocolate anyone could ever want.Bar area is small but comfy and bar staff attentive, ideal after a tiring journey and just right for a nightcap.Breakfast choice of full english ,continental,fruit &yogurts was good.We went for the full english which had tasty local bacon &sausages highly recommend.Tables are well spaced in twos and fours , sometimes a problem in other hotels where they squash tables together. Staff were very attentive serving fresh tea &coffee on seating you and newspapers available .

I spent a single night in an Executive room on ground floor (#5). It was very comfortable and clean, if a little soul-less. Breakfast could have been better,but I've had a lot worse, and service was very friendly and quick. Had a problem with TV but was fixed rapidly by excellent reception staff. I'd definitely return if in area again.

We occupied room number 8, this is a ground floor room overlooking the gardens. The hotel had completed a refurbishment and everything was clean and tidy. I had preordered a vegetarian breakfast and this was cooked to order on the Sunday morning. My only concern is that parking is very limited, arriving just after 3pm we had the last available parking space on site.

This was a clean and tidy hotel in a nice quiet location. Met expectations, staff were friendly and helpful. Just what you would expect really. Twin room was of a good size and has nice enough. Food was good.

We were upgraded to an executive room which had recently been decorated in very good taste. Unfortunately the new double bed was extremely hard together with the pillows. It was very nice to have a bottle of water to drink as well as the normal tea and coffee facilities. The toiletries were of a very high standard.

Chosen for it's access to buses into Oxford city centre. Parking available at no extra charge on site. Room clean and tidy, on the ground floor and no noise from other guests. Receptionists polite, breakfast choice good. No faults or issues that I can raise.
