    « 4 day stay »

We have stayed here a couple times now - Breakfast is not the greatest but being poolside and a full service bar steps away from the pool is incredible! Rooms are the perfect size, beds are comfortable and clean!!

    « Excellent stay!! »

This place is awesome! Very clean inside and out. Pool has large tiki bar/cafe and plenty of lounge chairs as well as covered cabanas with very comfortable seating. Pool is large and very clean. Room was outstanding! Breakfast room was great and food very good. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy, fruit, cereal, bagels. We were quite impressed with the overall quality of everything here. Staff extremely friendly. We will absolutely stay here again when in the area.

    « Stay somewhere else »

Rooms were fairly nice after upgrades but white blinds only?!?!?! These allowed light into the room all night from outside and early morning-room is already white painted interior and it just made room that much brighter after lights out..breakfast foods were low budget not very tasty..

    « Average »

Average At best. No room darkening curtains. Cheap furnishings. Noisy halls . Didn't try the breakfast so can't comment on that . Pool looked ok but we were heading to the beach. About 20 minutes drive. Won't likely be back

« Beautiful find on our way through »

Found this hotel by just passing by. Wonderful accommodations and amenities. We were welcomed by a friendly lady at the front desk(forget her name). After going to our room, we wandered down to the pool area. Water is heated, 85 degrees. Heaven! There is a tiki bar by the pool and bar type food menu is available. The breakfast was sufficient. Our king size room was very clean and spacious. Will definitely stay here again.

« Great place on Casey Key! »

Nice, clean, close to the bach! Perfect for a stay on Casey Key. Pops Sunset Grill is within walking distance. I unscrewed the bulbs in the outdoor lights one night to get some darkness in the room. Internet didn't work but I never let anyone know as I really needed a break from everything. Nice beach area, chairs and towels provided, nice touch.

    « Loved this hotel »

We got a pool side view room loved the room. King size bed was so comfy and the room was very spacious. I will be staying there again if I'm back in the area. The staff was very friendly and the teeki bar was a great place to hang out.

    « Can't wait to go back!!! »

Absolutely love this place and can't wait to go back next year with the family. It is the most relaxing hotel I have ever stayed at and plenty for the kids to do. Siesta Key Beach is just 20 mins away from this awesome resort!

« Not worth the money »

I stayed at this hotel for my wedding which I was having about 3 miles away from this hotel. We had many guests stay at the hotel as well and none of them were super impressed. Some of the staff were friendly enough but many of them were just rude. When I attempted to create a block, it took SEVERAL attempts and emails to get someone to help me and then after creating the block, the block rate was always higher than what people could book online themselves so even after getting it lowered slightly the rates online were still lower. I told our guests to check online first for the rate before booking the block because it was probably cheaper. I stayed in 2 separate rooms actually - a standard pool side room and the suite. Neither one was super impressive. I also wish it would clarify more if it's a poolside or poolview room when booking because my parents thought they would be on the 1st floor with pool access but ended up on the 2nd floor instead. The first room I stayed in was ok, the beds were small of course and the bathroom is set up kinda funny layout wise but it worked. The suite was hot, the air never seemed to really work. Our fridge was set to minimum so was pretty hot when we attempted to put stuff in it.They actually allowed us to use the kitchen fridge to keep everything cold so that was at least one nice thing they did. The breakfast was ok, but definitely not great. The water pressure in the suite was awful. We even mentioned we were there for our wedding and that it was our wedding night and most of the employees just seemed miserable and unpleasant. There were more guests walking by and congratulating us than any of the hotel staff who saw us walk in in wedding attire. We were told that once the tiki bar closed, the inside bar opened but that never happened, neither friday or saturday night which was really their loss, I guess because we had plenty of guests who were going to meet us at the bar for drinks after the wedding. There was paint on the walls in the bathroom that was peeling. Just overall, not really an amazing experience and for the price we paid, I expected way more.

« Unique hotel, far above a chain hotel »

As I said, I like the hotel but it's guests were a loud bunch. I don't suppose there is much the hotel can do about its guests behavior. The people in the hall were drunk and loud waking us up several times. The kids parents needed to tell them that not everyone loves high pitched shrieking at breakfast.

« Ordinary roadside motel 30 minutes from Sarasota »

The condition of the hotel is good although I had a problem with my AC the first night and they promptly changed rooms. The pool area and breakfast are very good. Unfortunately, if you want to primarily to be in Sarasota, you are going to do a lot of driving.

« Always a pleasure to stay here »

Came here with family for a spring break getaway. Loved every minute of our stay. Friendly courteous staff. Great food, nice coffee machine in the lobby making cappuccinos, etc. Complimentary breakfast in the morning with a nice variety of breakfast choices (changes daily). On Wednesday through Friday they serve tapas, flatbreads in the lobby restaurant (delicious!) Have stayed here in the past, and will definitely return again.

Clean and Comfortable facility. Close proximity to many great beaches. Pool area and Tiki bar were great to hang out at and the live music on Friday & Saturday eve was nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

    « Nice comfy room »

We stayed for 2 days at this hotel, the room was of a good size, confortable and very clean. The decor is up to date and the bathroom is very modern and convenient. The breakfast included in the price of the room was good and the coffee in the loby was great

    « Don't get ripped off!! »

My husband and I stayed at the Bentley March 28-Apr 1st had a first floor king room that faced the pool. When we checked in we were told that they didn't have our reservation and in fact we were suppose to check-in the day before. After confusion they pretended to give us a reservation ata higher price. After reading TripAdvisor when we got to our room I find out that this exact scam happened two days earlier to another family. Unfortunately we could not find another hotel as it was Spring break and Easter Weekend The room, while clean, smelled like a dirty wet dog! The cleaning staff and those who worked at the tiki bar were very friendly and helpful. Don't let this scam happen to you. We contacted our credit card company and are waiting a response about this.

    « Great Remodeled Spot! »

My husband and I spent one night here during our trip to Florida from Los Angeles and we wish we had stayed longer! The whole hotel is a remodeled roadside motel, which made for a really fun vibe. The room was large, we were upgraded to a poolside room that walked right out to the pool. The pool was great with a bar and food available. The staff was incredibly accommodating, allowing for early check-in and late check-out for maximum use of the pool. I would definitely recommend staying here and we will keep it in mind if we are in the area again!

« Much more than expected! »

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Bentley's. We were visiting with friends in Sarasota and Bentley's was centrally located to everywhere we wanted to go. We went to beaches in Venice, Nokomis and Siesta Key. We went to restaurants in Venice and Sarasota as well. The suite was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The pool was located in a center courtyard which was shielded from the wind which was really kicking up on two of the days we were there. There were plenty of chairs and lounges to be had around the pool. Breakfast was substantial although it was hard for the staff to keep up with replenishing as the hotel was quite full. The only other drawback was our outside deck/balcony was tucked into the corner of he building and didn't get much sun. However, we weren't planning to spend much time out there. Overall, I would highly recommend Bentley's and would return again.

    « Great Hotel »

We had a great time here. The staff was very friendly. The rooms and facilities were clean. The pool area with Tiki bar made for a fun environment. The room itself was large and had everything we needed including a mini fridge and keurig.

We had late checkout and maid must have came into clean and then realized we had that late checkout, but left door open, when we got back at 3:00 door was open; but all belongings were still there. This matter should be addressed; could have been a disaster.

    « Skeptical »

I'll be honest I was worried about this one. My wife and I were traveling through Florida and I just didn't want to pay the crazy rates on the coast. Found this place with good reviews on tripvisor. But still skeptical. Wasn't expecting much. Was I ever surprised. Starting with the staff at the front desk. From what I could tell the hotel had recently all been updated. My room was awesome. Modern furniture, colors. The shower in bathroom were all recently updated. Outside the grounds are clean and neat. Great pool. The tiki bar is outstanding. Didn't hear a peep from anywhere outside. Would definitely recommend. Especially for the money. I'd stay her again on a heart beat.

« Classic styling, wonderful courtyard, updated rooms »

Great place for a night or two. Hotel is built around a fabulous courtyard, featuring spacious deck, seating, cabanas, tiki bar and grill, and pool. Wish we could have stayed another day to enjoy it. : )

    « Average not Premier »

Not sure why this is considered BW Premier but I really expected the bedroom to have comfortable places for 2 people to sit and enough counter space in the bathroom for toiletries. Had to put them behind the open door. Breakfast was standard BW breakfast - expected more from a 'premier' hotel. Did have good coffee. Yogurt machine broke several times the first morning and did not work at all the second. Had a coffee machine in the lobby but it was terrible tasting coffee - tried plain coffee, cappuccino and latte but they all had the same awful taste. Only good thing about this hotel was the reception desk - everyone there was very friendly and very helpful.

    5
    « Very nice hotel »

Very nice hotel. Room was very clean and very quiet even though it faced pool and tiki bar with live music. Room AC was very quiet. Only negative was the pool was covered with tree debris in the morning and was not skimmed off early by pool maintenance.

« FUN IN THE SUN »

Found this property surfing the internet and was very lucky they had a last minute vacancy for our 11 night stay during winter break. Very nice property and attentive employees - we had a blast here definitely will return in the future

« Bentleys Boutique Hotel Great »

During our stay in March with our Baseballteam New Porks Baseball we stayed at Bentleys and it was great. The rooms great and the service perfect. The all you can eat breakfast buffet ok and the people very Nice. The Gym can use a upgrade but is fine. If you are looking 4 a fine hotel in Osprey pick Bentleys

    « Quick weekend getaway. »

Recently last week to be exact stayed in the Bentley's for a quick little weekend getaway from Chicago. Even though weather did disappoint a bit, the hotel however made us happy. On a smaller side but very charming and cozy. Kid friendly, and the pool is heated to 85 degrees. Rooms you can tell were recently re-done and everything is nice and clean. I would pick a room facing the pool, which is on the inside of the hotel. Cute tiki bar area with patio and chairs to sit outside. They also offer many food options, Incase you decide to stay in. I saw someone mention the hotel is off a highway, yes it is located on main Tamiami street. But makes it convenient to get to places, since that main road leads to anywhere you want. And if you do get the rooms to face the pool, you can't hear nothing (not sure how it is on the other side, but their patio doors are thick to a point you can't hear anything going on outside). Staff has been also great, anyone you ask all very friendly and willing to help. Breakfast included was a big bonus for us, we don't like waking up early, so to us was very convenient and enough. Would like to also say a separate thank you to lady at the reception, her name is Samira. She was exceptional, we had little issue our first night. Even though the hotel was busy, Samira was able to move us to a different room next morning. No questions asked, and had the room cleaned first after people checked out so we can move in earlier and go on with our day. I really appreciated her help, and just really liked how she handle the situation and was beyond nice. I would absolutely come back to this hotel, as soon as I find great plane tickets :-)

    « Nice Place »

We chose this hotel because of the location, the price was good and it was recently remodeled. The only complaint I have is the air conditioner was very loud it shut on and off all night long making it hard to sleep.

« Nice Suite and Pool Area »

We stayed 4 nights. The room was very nice with balcony looking out at pool. Nice walk in shower and comfortable bed. Pleasantly surprised overall. Breakfast was nice but would of been helpful if they replenished the bacon, sausage and had more fruit to offer. The Suite is large enough to offer rollaway bed for 2 teens boy and girl. But not offered. It was fine as we managed without. We would go back again.

« This not in boutique or a premier hotel »

It's on the main highway. No mention of that. Very good marketing yet disappointing to find out. Walked in three women staff chatting away no warm welcome. Lady who served while pleasant didn't have a clue about the award process for a gold member. I had to tell her with the gold card I have a choice of a welcome present or 1000 points and she didn't know how to ensure I was going to be awarded the points (which is what I asked for). There is clearly a lot of training required to ensure a warm welcome and what to do for gold members. Tried the coffee machine it was empty of everything I wanted and in the end I had to drink a hot chocolate. Just what you need in 86f!!! I'm not sure I will ever get the 1000 bonus points. Decor is very 80's. Not my thing for this amount of money in the middle of no where I would prefer a much nicer and smarter hotel for the $254 I was charged. WiFi reception or speed not sure which but it is terrible out by the pool. Which is where you also need it. Room not ready at 3.25pm, I wonder when I'll arrive at a best western and actually have a room that is ready this chain hardly ever has a ready room for me. I wonder if I decided to leave the room at 2pm instead of the obligatory 11am check out if it would be taken as well as I did not having a booked room ready by 3pm. Employ more cleaners for goodness sake. When we arrived the receptionist said the room is not ready it will in 10 minutes. Being a fair person I left it 20 minutes and walked up to reception. After an exchange of words because it wasn't ready and the receptionist telling me ?well I thought it would be but we had a delivery and the maids had to help ?! Can you believe a customer being told that? My reply was I don't care about deliveries. I booked a hotel room and expect for it to be ready when I am told it will be and asked her to go and find out when it was good by to be ready. She was not happy. By now I didn't care. Would you be believe it, magically the room was ready. A message to Hotel people, don't play games with customers. How many times do I have to note. We the customers pay your salaries by paying for the room. Without us there isn't job, no hotel and no pay. Remember even if you don't like us the customer is king. Go out the back and scream if you have to but treat the customer well and provide customer service. This is supposed to be a best western premium hotel. If it is behave like it is, at the moment in my humble opinion it is struggling with service and decor to be average. In the room One shampoo in the room. Come on, premium boutique hotel I booked for two people what are we supposed to do share a sachet of shampoo? I had to go and find the manager (a very nice man) who went off to get a hand full of the stuff. But it shouldn't have to be. Get it right in the first place. Again customer service. Is this a boutique hotel,? Well I would supppse we all need to understand best westerns definition of boutique. It's not mine. Was it worth $254? No was not. What is it worth? On first impressions no more than a $100 hotel and I would want discount on that. I Would suggest unless you want to spend a lot of dollars for no reason then you are best to go somewhere else. Disappointing. I am on a quest to find a really good and decent priced best western. I've not done it yet but they can't keep a good man down. So now after settling into the room and taking a look at the guest informative directory. The place proudly displays that it is premier. So why do they have a shoddy and unprofessional directory that is tippex out with clearly services no longer available and then with bits of cut up paper covering other large items no longer available. Surely with the amount of money you charge here to could manage scanning pages in changing them reprinting and place nice clear professional pages back in. Very very unprofessional. The bedside lights don't work. What a dump. There is what clearly a person who thinks she was a supervisor checking the rooms (she had a clip board!) Why doesn't she add another line to her check list ?check all the lights work' and do the job correctly. The facilities (pool bar) close at 8pm the food at 7pm wow this is really premium and really caters for the higher level of customer you are looking to attract. Breakfast. Was ok, but.....why bring out the bacon at 8am. When we had been there since 7.15am and no bacon had come out for us to eat. Bring it all out together please, it's easier to eat it then! Both TV's in the breakfast room had the weather channel on (also the one in reception). Why wouldn't you you put a news channel on its a lot more interesting than watching rain and snow. There are 7 tables in the room not enough for people to use as they were all taken by 7.30am. We managed to get one of them. I wish I hadn't as we were under an air conditioning unit that was on the roof and this constantly dripped water onto me and also onto the plate I was eating my food off. Horrible and disgusting. I'm stupidly paying $254 dollars for this privilege. Not very nice at all. Not at all boutique or premier. Check out. There was a very nice lady st checkout. Very tall and elegant with dark hair could have been something like Cuban I think. The issue i has was, best western provide vouchers (which I love and is a reason why I use the hotel chain frequently) why can't they either train their staff as to how to process them or make the system easier for them to use. It took approximately 30 minutes to check out. By that time, the lady and I were the best of friends. I have to say they've done a wonderful job on the marketing photographs on the best western web site. I am sad to say they tricked me. If the hotel was as good as the photographs it would have been fantastic. There are cheaper hotels out there and also better ones. This one advertises its self as being boutique and premier and a cut above the others. It isn't. The staff, the decor and how they operate let's them down. If you can get a cheap deal here you may as well stay (you might be paying what it is worth) but otherwise. Have a good look around and you will find better places out there for the high cost they charge.

    « Wonderful! »

We had a wonderful time! The hotel met and even exceeded all of our expectations. The staff were professional and friendly and very helpful with whatever we needed. The room was clean and comfortable and very accommodating! The walk in shower was an added bonus. Very nice! The pool and tiki bar were fabulous. A great place for couples! Will stay again!

« Very nice all around! »

My wife warned me that I better not get a dump. Well, suffice it to say, she was very happy with Bentley's. Booked with points through my Chase card so it was very affordable for me. Only issue was even though I put in my Best Western number, I didn't get any BW points as the hotel didn't get my number from the website and said they couldn't (wouldnt) add it locally. Short drive to great Fish House at Casey Key.

« Wonderful Birthday Retreat at Bentley's Boutique Hotel! »

My husband and I drove to Osprey, FL to celebrate my birthday. We stayed 3 nights in a king suite overlooking the pool that was fabulous! The tiki bar and the decor around the pool gave the ambiance of being at the beach. We enjoyed sitting on our patio and listening to the live music on Saturday night while sipping a glass of wine! We visited the Oscar Scherer State Park, the Stump Pass Beach State Park and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experiences at Cafe Evergreen! At the end of the day, coming back to our suite at Bentley's was wonderful!

« Amazing Boutique Hotel near everything »

This hotel is wonderful. The pool area with the tiki theme is so relaxing and gives a great feel to this hotel. The front desk staff is very helpful (especially Roxxi) recommending local restaurants and points of interest. Overall this hotel is in a central location near siesta key beach, Venice Ave., Armand's Circle in Sarasota, and legacy trail. It is immaculate and even provides a cappuccino and latte machine 24 hours for free! With breakfast included you cannot beat this deal.

« It's NOT your typical roadside motel... »

Could not find a place to stay in Venice so started looking at nearby towns. Didn't need beachfront so discovered Bentleys in Osprey, exactly 4.9 miles from downtown Venice, and 3 miles to Nokomis beach. It started out life as a typical roadside motel from the 60s or 70s, but has been extensively and nicely remodeled and updated--original art on the walls in both hallways and rooms; nicely remodeled bathrooms (with lots of light--yay!) and at least some rooms have balconies overlooking the pool area. Room was comfortable, nice amenities. Breakfast area is both indoors and outdoors, next to the pool. There's also a tiki bar that serves drinks in the evenings, and a guest laundry. We were very pleased with the property with a couple of exceptions: apparently the rooms all have two double beds; if you're used to a queen or king sized bed, even two "normal-sized" people are gonna be crowded. When you reserve, ask if there are queen or king rooms available. Also ask for a poolside room--they have the balconies and I believe are the same price. Breakfast was good, but lacked the variety of even a "regular" Best Western, much less their "premier" properties: no fresh fruit, not even any of the ubiquitous waffles. What was there was good, though. We had a serious problem with our first room--no hot water in the sink, and then the bathroom light fixture fell off the wall in the middle of the night, spraying broken glass all over the bathroom. However the following morning, the manager immediately moved us to another room with profuse apologies, and didn't charge us for the night.

    « Vacation. »

Great place and wonderful staff. Room was a great size. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was nice. Breakfast was great every day. Pool was nice. WiFi could have been better when we were in the room but it still worked when it was needed. I will stay here again.

    « Very nice property »

Stayed here while in the 'area for a wedding. The outside looks nice. The lobby is small but quaint and no fluff. Staff were warm and welcoming. The room is a decent size and modern. The pool area and pool were very well kept. Breakfast was provided and tasty with many choices. The tiki bar attached was nice with great specials, and staff here too were very friendly. My only complaint was the price. It could most definitely be a bit lower then what it was......this reason alone will have me shopping elsewhere next time. Lower the price and this place will always be sold out and well worth the cost. All in all however, this is a great place to stay.

The hotel is very clean newly renovated nearby nice beaches and attractions The service is great I loved it and recommend it to my friends Very relaxing environment It is great escape from the cold weather in Ohio

    « Great hotel »

It all starts with the check in. Samira walks you thru the paperwork and makes you feel like a old friend stopping in. The rooms are fantastic with every amenity you would expect. The pool area is great. Nick the bartender always has your needs attended to before you even know what you need. The real sand surrounding the pool deck makes you feel like being at the beach. The bathrooms are a must see to believe. If the choice is there, take the Bentley. If you have any problems, Roxxi and Carleyn are ready to jump in and fix them. This place is a must go to.

« Not your average best western »

I tend to be a tough critic and I need to applaud these hotel owners. The bedding (sheets, mattresses and pillows were wonderful and so superior to other hotels). I wish we had stayed longer because in comparison, our next hotels - comparable in price and overall quality - did not match up. The rooms are all named with a British theme and there are many other unique features. The staff was professional, very friendly and helpful. If back anywhere in this area again, I look forward to staying here and will recommend strongly to friends. Bravo, thank you and keep up the good work!!

    « Beautiful place!!! »

This hotel was beautiful! We really enjoyed our stay. Room was very clean and updated. Only complaint is that the drinks at the tiki bar were a little pricey! They also had an issue with the key maker but someone was close by to let us in our room when needed. Was able to get a key a few hours after check in.

    « Great Gem »

My wife and I took a quick trip to Bradenton, Florida to visit family and found this property via Hot Wire. I don't usually stay in Best Western Hotels (preferring Hilton or SPG), but were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this property. It is newly remodeled, and our room was wonderful. A very clean, modern bathroom and comfortable king bed. The room was a nice size and in our case, overlooked another property in the back of the hotel. Room had a flat screen television with cable. They had a complementary breakfast each morning that was comparable to what a Hampton Inn offers, minus the waffle maker. Food was good, hot, and plentiful. There was a great coffee machine that made hot chocolate and many varieties of coffee (espresso, vanilla, etc.). Lobby also had a computer that allowed us to print our boarding passes. There was a very nice pool area and bar that we did not use, but looked like it would be fun for a longer stay in nicer weather! Staff was also very pleasant and helpful. Only down side for us, was it's distance from Tampa airport (where we came in), and the Bradenton/Sarasota area where our family was located, but the price more than made up for the slightly longer drives. Our particular room was located next to where the ice machine was, and one morning at 4am someone got ice (really!!)....but if we stay again we will simply not locate there....would given the opportunity we would certainly stay again and would easily recommend it!

« Great Hotel, not so great location for me »

The hotel is great Great pool, great breakfast, great rooms. The location wasn`t good for me, because there`s nothing to do within walking distance (not even dinner). We had to take the car to go everywhere. Driving distance to the beach 15-25 minutes,

« Cost effective place to stay ! »

Stumbled onto this motel through Expedia and booked a week's stay over New Year. I badly need some rest after a hectic 2017 and this was just the place for me. Drove here from the airport and had no trouble locating the property. Receptionist was very polite and helpful. Was upgraded to a poolside room - Thank you ! Rooms are spacious and very clean. Free parking and wifi. Poolside bar with live music on the weekends. Short drive to many beaches and cultural attractions as well as good dining near by. Free breakfast buffet ! Overall - had a great stay.

    « A One Night Stay! »

Needing a room before flying back to the frozen north, we chose the Bentley as it is close to some of our favorite restaurants and shops. Our first floor room was very clean and comfortable with a great view of the pool. While the weather wasn't conducive to using the pool and sand beach, this is a great benefit of staying at the Bentley. Hopefully the remodeling gets finished soon. We will stay here again when in the area.

« Compliments to the Staff »

We stayed in this hotel over the past 6 weeks twice and will again stay this month. The hotel is basic contemporary with a lofty looking lobby, friendly staff as soon as you walk in. The staff is very professional and will answer any questions that you ask. Always smiling and greeting you as you just walk thru the lobby. Breakfast is very basic, but we don't really care as we have a different diet than the regular breakfast eater. As long as there is fresh fruit and good coffee we are happy. And this hotel does have it and a great coffee machine. Rooms are very contemporary no nonsense fussy clean rooms and the bathroom is very nice with a walk in shower. Overall we rate it very high as it is priced right, staff is fabulous and a great location for our needs in the area.

Very nice and comfortable. Convenient to restaurants, beaches and other. Room was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was a little lacking; items not replaced, tables not cleared and cleaned quickly. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed

    « Best pool ever »

This was a last minute trip and our first time to this side of Florida. The pool was a hit. It's very large, has an 8 ft depth, and changes colors at night. Our room was immaculate and so comfortable. There were some eco friendly features like the low flow toilet and ac with remote. The ac was installed on the wall near the ceiling and had many options of how the fan blades could be positioned, the force of air, etc. So much better than the old wall units. The shower was large, light and had great pressure. We took an Uber to the beach everyday. And loved coming ?home? to the pool. We will be back.

Overall, I always enjoyed staying at Best Western. The Best Western in Osprey was in the nice location and the staffs were so freindly and nice. Only the night we stayed, there were a lot of contruction going on so not many facilities were available.

    « Amazing as always »

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Every time the staff have been great and the hotel has always been clean. The hotel is in a great area that is close to a lot of shops, restaurants and very close to the beaches. They are renovating their bar area so you couldn't order any food until the following Wednesday after I checked out. They do have a list of menu items for food in the rooms. I think this menu should be removed until they can start serving the food that listed until they open the bar up again.

    « Very nice hotel »

Was here for 1 night and really enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I apologize for not remembering the wonderful lady at the front desk when I checked in. She explained the layout of the hotel, parking, breakfast time and that I need to comeback when the tiki bar and live entertainment is up and running. The pool area was beautiful at night with the pool lights. My only complaint was the breakfast was pretty sad. I definitely would definitely stay here again.

A great place for a staycation period or any vacation I recommend this place to all of our out-of-towners. I've been a local here in Nokomis, osprey for 35 years my entire life. And I love the little Tiki Bar in the atmosphere

« Lovely place to stay »

A really nice hotel, clean, quiet, fresh and modern interior, friendly staff. Pool, tiki-bar by the pool, coffee-machine with tasty coffee in the lobby. A bit more breakfast items than normally is offered by US-hotels (we are used to Scandinavian style breakfasts).

« Close to an event we attending »

The hotel was the choice Hotwire gave us. It was a Great hotel. It was very nice and had updated decor. Great little pool area. Had a great Hot Breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and your normal breakfast items danishes, muffins, bagels, oatmeal with toppings, etc. which is included in your stay. The lady working the breakfast area was keeping it well stocked. If we find ourselves needing to stay in the this area again will definitely stay here again. If your looking for a con the only one I would say is the the water pressure in the shower wasn't that great but would not keep from staying here.

    « Absolutely Beautiful!!! »

We absolutely loved this hotel! It was very clean, quiet, and we enjoyed the fact that it was secluded from all of the other mainstream hotels. The beach chairs that were provided were a nice touch. We will definitely stay here again.

Upon entering my Suite at the hotel room 122. Few min in my husband's legs were covered with fleas. We advised the staff they barely apologized changed us to another room. No one from management came to check on us to see if we need it something. My husband's legs were all bitten no one even asked afterward to see. Don't stay at this hotel not worth it.

Thank you so much for all the staff at Bentleys for taking care of us while we had no power or water in our home! The room was clean and comfy- my 2 pugs even enjoyed it. Our bartender at the tiki was phenomenal and Caroline at the front desk was so helpful. I would highly recommend staying here-and will be back soon to have a cocktail at the tiki! Thanks again!

« Go to Bentley's Hotel For a Good Time! »

This hotel has had a few challenges throughout the past few years. It recently caught on fire and has been renovated. All but the front of the hotel is open. The lobby is still under renovation, so you have to check in at it's sister hotel (the Virage) which is directly behind the main hotel. The pool area looks and feels like you are on the beach! They have many poolside rooms which include your own patio directly out to a sand filled mock beach including a tiki bar. There are little cabanas to sit in as well. At night the pool is very pretty as it's the only thing lit up in the courtyard. The breakfast is nice with many options. One unique option is the yogurt dispensing machine which included a toppings bar. Delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and very clean as well. It's just south of Sarasota Square Mall and Siesta Beach to the North. There's also good fishing on Blackburn point and another beach off Albee road in Nokomis. This hotel definitely is the most bang for your buck!

    « VERY satisfied customer!!! »

Upon arriving on a Saturday, I was given free drink tickets for the tiki bar only to find out that the tiki bar had closed because of storms. I was bummed because the main reason I chose this hotel was because of the tiki bar by the pool where one could order drinks/food and it promised music on a Saturday night. Was VERY pleased with the room, however. Very updated, modern and so clean! But still being disappointed about the tiki bar being closed, I called down to the office and expressed my disappointment. Jen the manager was SO understanding that she offered to either refund my money entirely or offered to take $25 off the price of my room AND gave me a later check out of 12:00 instead of 11:00!! Wow...who does that anymore? She appreciated my business and bent over backwards to make me happy!! Again, wow...was told by another guest by the pool that the free breakfast here is great...eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits, cereals, fruits, juices, etc. Looking forward to that!!!

« Fun and relaxing hidden gem »

We were skeptical but the name and reviews got us to come and we highly recommend. From the outside (especially currently they are remodeling their lobby) it doesn't look like much, but the courtyard and rooms are great! The pool is surrounded by cabanas with comfy chairs and couches. Their is a Tiki Bar and a grill that are good food and reasonable prices. They gave us a couple of coupons for drinks at the bar for our inconvenience with the remodel (which wasn't a problem but why turn down a free drink?). The rooms are named for different locations in England (The owners are English). They were very nicely decorated and we had a first level facing the pool that had its own little deck. The staff, both the hotel and bar, were very friendly and helpful, quick with suggestions for places to see and visit. All in all, a great stay and we would go their again.

« Fun place for a great weekend »

Bentley's is a nice hotel and is making upgrades to make it better. Staff was wonderful. The Tiki Bar, under new management, is a fantastic, fun place to hang out pool side. Bartender/Owner was fantastic. Room and service were wonderful. Pool side balcony is another perk if you upgrade. There are plenty of great restaurants close by, including Casey Key Fish House. My wife and I plan on returning. Thanks for a wonderful 28 year anniversary weekend.

« Indeed feels like a boutique hotel but great for families. »

Not busy at this time of the year and while it was a boutique hotel it was not snooty. Regular common folk stayed here and it was a great place for families with a large pool. Had a patio sliding door to the deck with your own beach which was kind of cool.

« An average hotel, not a boutique hotel »

The definition of "boutique hotel" is a small, stylish hotel, typically one situated in a fashionable urban area. This hotel is none of that. It is a fine average hotel, no different really than a chain motel. The room was quiet and well decorated, but smelled mildewy. The shower had obviously been recently renovated but had mold all around the bottom. The pool area was fairly nice, with a few cabanas (which had towels to save them or wet seats from swimmers). The best thing was the nightly musical group over the weekend. The little tiki hut restaurant was a nice touch. However we thought the drinks were very expensive. The breakfast was fine, but again was like a chain. I just think the marketing of this property is at odds with reality. And of course the construction didn't help.

    « Birthday getaway »

This is a great hotel located close to Casey Key, Venice and Siesta Key. They have renovated the entire hotel and worked very hard to create a great destination with a wonderful tiki bar and comfy pool cabanas. The only thing that I'd suggest would be adding a hot tub. On weekends there is live music next to the tiki bar and it was awesome. The bartenders at the tiki bar were great and the front desk clerks were great. It's a real shame the some of the staff were not as hospitable. The room manager Rhonda was very cool and aloof and not very friendly to the guests. The pool closed at 10p and a security guard demanded we get out of the pool immediately, almost as if he was looking for a confrontation. This could have been handled in a much better fashion and in a much more diplomatic way. I told Rhonda that I was disappointed with the manner in which the security guard handled this and she barked "I'll handle it." Aside these two employees I'd say it was a very nice stay. I won't be able to recommend the hotel to others unless I know Rhonda is no longer an employee.

« Nice for the price »

This is an older 2 story hotel (walk-up but they were putting in an elevator). We stayed here for a swim meet and there are no other hotels nearby. The staff is very nice and cleaning service also. There is a pool bar/restaurant and a decent hot breakfast offered. Check out is at 11 which is a bit early. Room AC is very loud as is toilet. Very dim lighting. Wifi was spotty. Found one bug in the bathroom but hey it's Florida.

    « Newly decorated rooms »

I was looking for a hotel with more personality then the chain hotels and this does have it. The lobby is new and spacious, the room was quiet, newly decorated and a decent size. Clean, well kept rooms. I was satisfied with my stay here overall. Seems a very family/child oriented place with many kids in the pool most of the time. The breakfast is as others describe-- very modest and mediocre. Ate there the first day, went out after that. The one odd thing were signs all over the room and when you registered about breaking rules and the penalties. Too bad they have had bad experiences and handle it this way. Other hotels must face the same thing but handle it differently.

« Best Bang for the Buck »

A great hotel about 15-20 minutes away from Siesta Key beach. The rooms are recently renovated and very comfortable. The pool area with lovely free cabanas are the great. They even have a tiki bar with bar offerings, and restaurant. Also they have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. To top off the hotel includes a buffet of hit breakfast. So come on for the price a great stay. We will be back for sure.

« I am not happy to write this review! »

I have been a frequent guest at Bentley's. The construction going on has never been an issue. This is still a nice hotel in spite of the construction. The issue is the housekeeping staff. Try these issues: No toilet paper in the bathroom and guess when you figure that out! The shower has such low pressure you cannot take a ?normal? shower. Good thing the shower has low pressure, the drain is so clogged it cannot get the water out of the shower. Oh, did I mention the hair dryer was missing? The final ?last straw? is the Do Not Disturbed? sign was also missing. When I complained (you do not find this all at one time) the last time I am told the housekeeping staff will be reprimanded! I suggested they need to be educated, have some training, who inspects? People don't do what is expected of them, they do what is inspected! I asked to talk to the manager, left my cell number in an attempt to ?help him? understand what was going on in his hotel??? No call. We may stay again, but it will be a while.. Their answer at check out, discount my bill $25.00. I would have paid the many time more than $25.00 not to have to deal with the issues. I did not choose Bentley's for the ?cheap? price?. As they are not cheap.

    « Modern hotel »

Nice renovated hotel. The hotel was still having work done to the front so we were a little nervous but the rooms were modern and you could not hear any construction. The pool area was awesome...cabanas and plenty of seating. We loved having the bar as well and some music in the evening. We would definitely come back if ever in the area again!

« "Average" is an accurate description »

We wanted to stay close to the interstate as our daughter was at the US Rowing Nationals at Nathan Benderson Park. This place seemed to fit the bill and was moderately priced. No issues at all with location or price. Rooms also very nice and common spaces are clean. That said - if your intent is to visit Siesta Key and have this hotel as your jumping off point there are MANY other places within this same price point to stay which would be much better options. As other travelers have pointed out, this establishment is under lobby construction so from the outside you seriously wonder if you are in the right place. There is really nothing around the hotel which makes its overall placement rather random. The pool area is just OK. They have bar type food out there and live music. Unfortunately this area is also a haven for smokers. No matter the time day or night all the cabanas were taken with people smoking non stop. The decorative sand around the pool is cluttered with discarded butts and during our stay even empty packs. Just no attention to detail at the pool area. Not even ever any clean pool towels. As others have said - the breakfast is also sad. Very thin paper plates to hold minimal selections. Not even really any fresh fruit. Items in plastic packaging. So much more could be done with just a little extra expense. Overall not a bad place to stay depending on what you need it for - but certainly would not plan my vacation around this location or establishment if the intent is to visit the beach.

    « Loved it!!! »

We had the best visit ever. It was relaxing with a great location, and staff. Ethan was on point!! Friendly, great drinks and attentive. The food menu could be a little more extensive by the pool. I get the simplicity and maybe its a small kitchen so no big deal. I assume the blonde is the manager she was always present and seemed to run a good crew. Breakfast was good, had to wait because they were booked to max on memorial day and some of the guests were savages but maybe knowing they were booked they should have been a tad better prepared. I still loved it and i will be back. Everything was clean and comfy. Thanks for a great weekend!!!!

« You say boutique I say in my opinion you can't market yourself »

Upscale if: teabags are generic the only creamer you provide is chemical your danish assortment is plastic wrapped muffins guests must walk thru the rain to access breakfast staff at check in desk answer questions while actively eating! Elevator installation=temporary construction fence at entrance! Gorgeous & spacious room lacks a comfortable chair to sit in. A $20 up-charge pool side shaded balcony/patio is worth it. Avoid poolside rooms at busy times if you prefer peace & quiet. How do you keep kid from playing in "decorative sand" ? Poolside burger & fries are great. The $12 USD cost NOT great. I didn't see another onsite restaurant.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my sister. Great place, clean rooms, very efficient use of space in the room as well as the bathroom. Nice pool area, not too many people which was a plus. Hotel is undergoing a renovation, but it didnt bother our stay. Parking and breakfast is included. Things to improve: the water pressure was very gentle in the shower and breakfast could have been better. Overall a decent hotel, close proximity to Sarasota. Definitely would return again.

    « Rude management »

I stopped by recently to inquire about renting a suite and hosting my husband's 50th birthday. I was hoping to find out about event space, catering, etc. knowing that they've hosted events and even had an event planner, I was stunned that the manager Rhonda Glowniak wanted nothing to do with me. She wouldn't even come out of her office to ask me any questions or details. I have family and friends flying in so we would've booked a block of rooms. The receptionist wasn't friendly at all, she went into the office-gave a brief description of why I was there-then I was told "we don't do that." I was shocked that the manager wouldn't come out of her office (15 feet from where I was standing) to ask me any questions about what I was looking for. I would seriously read the low ratings of this hotel before you book. If they treat locals like this, imagine how they treat clients that are only visiting for a short stay. Unacceptable.

« Would recommend over and over again »

Recently had the pleasure of staying at Bentley's. I could not have asked for better service, cleaner room, family atmosphere. The staff is amazing and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The Tiki Bar Manager Rhonda is super kind and lots of fun and always looking to make sure her guests are happy and well cared for. Definitely going back again!

Nice place, modernly decorated and acceptable price. Beds are comfortable but not as big as described. Free breakfast was good, with many options. Pool area very comfortable for kids and families. Across the street, you can find Oscar Scherer State Park where you can spend a nice day with your family.

    « Split personality! »

This is the first time I have ever witnessed a hotel with a 'split personality'. We could not reconcile the beautiful pool photos (that had been the decisive factor for our two teenagers when finding a hotel last minute) with the non-descript external atmosphere or, rather, lack thereof. The lobby/entrance is being renovated (after a fire, I now learn) so the current lobby is a makeshift one (and complete with an office for a realtor. Weird). But it would still not change my view that this hotel is not clear about their customer base and what they wish to achieve. Renovating a roadside motel and giving a room a distinctly British name and making it appear upmarket by naming it Bentley's does not automatically qualify as class. There is a message in the bathroom (see photo), which indicates an issue (real or perceived?) with guests stealing anything in the room that is not nailed down. Very strange in a hotel with this price-point. Perhaps they should have included a hairdryer attached to the wall in their renovation plans to avoid the risk of their customers 'accidentally' packing it in their bags. The rooms facing the side carpark were quite dark (due in part to the dark furnishings) but the beds were clean, comfortable and the shower area of the bathroom was nicely done. Water pressure was great. Poor space for toiletries, considering the renovation, although there was a bench built into the wall behind the door (you had to close the door to access it). The rest of the room is like a cheap makeover. The bedside lamp was on for a relatively short time and the plastic and metal was extremely hot and at the height where a small child could easily reach it. Only two pods of coffee are provided in a room sleeping four adults and no tea at all (shame, it could have helped the 'English' feel they are obviously trying to achieve). And putting two big identical prints on the wall right behind the television is one too many. Less is more....Wifi worked really well. The pool and Tiki Bar is where the split personality is most evident. Exit the internal corridor to the rooms and you are suddenly in a 2.5-3-star environment that feels totally detached from the rest of the hotel. White sand borders the entire area and I thought they had small children in mind and had provided a welcoming play area. Not so. There is a sign there as well, basically telling you it is only for appearances (and, apparently, cigarette butts). A plus for the shaded lounging areas. A minus for not keeping an eye on the cleanliness. There was an abundance of orange plastic seating available and plenty of wooden tables and chairs near the Tiki bar. We did not try the bar offerings (venturing out instead to Pop's Sunset Grill in Nokomis, see separate review) so cannot comment. The indoor breakfast area is right off the pool and, fortunately, it is easy to dine outdoors and in the shade because the room itself had zero atmosphere, although you could dine in there as well. Breakfast is typically 3-star (but without waffles). Bentley's comes complete with another hotel immediately behind (Virage). It is all on the same plot and uses the same parking. They are in a rather 'off' location on the US41 and a car is definitely required. I would consider Venice or Sarasota unless you get a knock-out deal here or you are too tired to drive further. Interpret the use of Boutique very loosely. Unfortunately, the staff at this hotel were mediocre and showed very little of the welcoming Florida hospitality experienced everywhere else. I would not spend more than one night here. And, no, I did not depart with anything that I should have paid for!

    « A gem of a gotel »

Decided to do a last minute weekend away to Sarasota and found this hotel online through a third party. It looked amazing in the pictures so we booked it. It's located in osprey so it's only around 15 minutes from Sarasota and siesta key which wasn't a big deal, there are also a few nice restaurants nearby. Upon arrival it was clear that it was going under a lot of renovations which I didn't realise but it didn't hinder any part of our stay, I think it's going to look great when it's all finished. We got there very early, left a suitcase there and asked about the beach shuttle that it says about on their website (actually one of the reasons we booked) but we were informed that they weren't running it due to a lack of demand which was a shame but we decided to go siesta key all day instead which had free parking. We got back to the hotel around 5.30pm and officially checked in. I want to personally thank the person on front desk (unsure of name) who upgraded us to the best suite in the entire hotel. It was extremely unexpected and we were amazed. Neither of us have stayed in anything like it and it was beautiful. It's a shame we only came for one night!! We didn't have too much time to explore the other parts of the hotel but did take a look at the tiki bar in the evening where there was a live band playing which looked good. Breakfast was complimentary which is always nice, and there was a nice selection of food, although serving hot, heavy food on paper plates isn't really ideal, it was also a little bit dirty outside when we were eating but it was still nice to have a complimentary breakfast included. All in all a very nice hotel and I will definitely, definitely, be coming to stay again. Just a few little things that need to be ironed out as part of the renovations which I mentioned, and I think the hotel would be pretty much perfect for weekends away.

    « Nice Hotel »

Bentley' Boutique hotel recently updated all of their rooms and they did a nice job though the lobby bar area and the facade aren't finished (the pool side tiki bar still serves drinks and even had a live band Friday night when we arrived. The look and feel is very modern and clean. The hotel isn't in a great area, but it worked for our group because we were close enough to visit st Armand in one direction and soccer in the other. My only complaint about the room we had was that the beds were full size instead of queen. This makes sleeping two in a bed less than completely comfortable. My biggest complaint and the reason I give the Bentley three stars rather than four is the breakfast (included in our package). The food was "pathetic" to quote multiple people from our group. I'm vegan and there was literally nothing I could eat (not even whole wheat breads or oatmeal). The eggs were barely edible. The biscuits were hard, and the Orange juice was unrecognizable. Worse than the food was little things like the paper plates were so thin and cheap that it couldn't support the weight of a bagel without using too hands. The Bentley should rethink its breakfast offering from top to bottom. Outside of the room, breakfast is the next biggest customer experience and it is too important to have it taint what is otherwise a pleasant stay.

    « Nice Hotel »

My girlfriend saw this hotel online on Hotels. com and it sounded nice and it was. We love Siesta Key and it was a little bit of a drive to there but it was well worth it to stay here. The pool area is very nice and the tiki bar was nice also. Breakfast area was small but the food was good. The room was very nice and would recommend this hotel to friends

    « Very nice room »

This room was very nice and clean, the hallways are very clean as well... over all the rooms were very nice. Only complaint I would have is the breakfast needs serious help, the room was very small, not maintained as nice as the rest of the hotel. The breakfast food was below average, but it was free. **don't let that stop you, the room was very nice, clean, and very well maintained.**

    « Near beautiful coastline »

You'll need a car, but near all that coastline has to offer. Beautiful beaches are within 10 min drive and downtown Sarasota is about 25mins. The room is comfortable and trendy with mini fridge and dreamy bed. The pool area is lovely for sunning and swimming...

    « Good location »

It may not look like much from the outside, but it is a very nice hotel: spacious rooms, well-kept, attractive pool area. Venice is just down the road and Sarasota 45 minutes to the north, beaches nearby. The one disappointment was the breakfast which offered the usual pre-packaged junk, served on paper plates with plastic cutlery, but also scrambled eggs, toasted bagels and a fresh fruit salad. After four mornings I was really tired of it. Otherwise, enjoyed my stay here.

    « Musty Hotel »

    « Friends outing »

The location was ideal, it aloud us to visit numerous beaches in the area. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was quiet after 11pm to allow for a peaceful night. « Nice Hotel »

We got married in Siesta Key and wanted to find a hotel relatively close by to accommodate our guests. We reserved about a dozen rooms at the Bentley. Everyone was quite pleased with their stay. The hotel has been recently renovated so the rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable. The pool area and Tiki Bar are a great place to hang out and have food, drinks and a swim. They still have a few kinks to work out in the hotel, sometimes the service is a little slow. But overall, great value for the price and a good hotel.

« OK hotel for the price »

We booked at The Virage, and arrived after dark. This hotel was situated behind Bentley's, so we drove to the back but there was no check-in there. We went back to the front of Bentley's and had to check in there. Would have been nice to know that up front. Our room was upgraded to a newly remodeled one in Bentley's, but when we opened the door, a strange smell assaulted out nostrils. One of the walls was very dark and the room was ultra contemporary, as was the bathroom, which we didn't care for. However, the staff was very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately during our stay, there was construction, which forced us to walk outside for breakfast in the rain. A good value for your money near Siesta Key, but I wouldn't stay there again.

« What happened to the Satuday night entertainment? His name was Costal Steve. »

I'm upset about the fact that the performer(Costal Steve) who my wife and I would go see on Saturday night is no longer there. He was terrific, very engaging and entertaining. He really made you feel like you were on vacation, he set a great atmosphere there. So I am wondering what happened to him? Saturday night there is not the same without him, so I will no longer be going.

Bentley's is one of those hotels that we like to come back, Room are very comfortable, the place is very quite, we choose the room with pool view on the first floor, which is very good especially if you have kids, for all this I would say 5 Stars, But I only give (4) for an incident that I had with Ethan at the Tiki Bar, don't even try to ask him for ice, this guy is very rude and disrespectful! This kid doesn't have the minimum of courtesy rules, thanks to this guy we did not spent a dollar on the tiki bar during our stay.... I spoke with the manager and he agreed with me and I hope He talked to him. Some times the employees forget that they have their jobs because Guest like us come back for a good service. We hope that the next time we comeback Ethan won't be there anymore.

« Very pleased with comfortable room »

We were staying at Bentley's because it was relatively close to a spring training game in Sarasota - about a 25 minute drive, and we were very pleased with the remodeled room. It was clean and comfortable. The front desk personnel was very helpful and the personnel in the breakfast buffet area were efficient as well. The breakfast buffet was typical for this priced hotel.

    « Decent stay »

We stayed for three nights at the end of February and had a decent stay! Our rooms seemed clean and the beds were comfortable. The showers could have been cleaner since it appeared that there was some black mold on the grout. Also, at night these tiny flying ants were crawling on the bathroom sink but would be gone by morning. The pool area was clean and peaceful. The tiki bar food was terrible. Overall, for the price and location, I would stay again

    « Filthy and cockroaches »

Bedsheets were not changed from previous stay, cockroaches in bathroom, loud, not worth the $$$ at all. Do not stay there. That's literally the only thing that we look for in a hotel room - clean sheets and towels and no filthy insects.

I hope staff and management make the necessary changes . It used to be a pleasurable stay for me in the past. I am disappointed & will be staying elsewhere in the future if they don't elevate their standards to at least par.

    « Best Vacation at Bentley's!! »

Great stay @ Bentley's-we stayed 3/22-3/29, and it met all our expectations! The room was very modern and clean, and the pool area was fantastic. The breakfast was very good as well, included in your stay for free: scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits & gravy, cereals, muffins & danishes, yogurts & toppings, something for everyone. There is a Super Walmart 3 mins down the road, which we stocked up on our beer, wine & munchies :). Close to Nokomis beach-perfect for sea shell searching. Venice Beach 12 minutes away...found 2 shark's teeth there, along with more beautiful shells. Siesta Key Beach (GORGEOUS) is about 15-20 mins away. Gold Rush BBQ, Nokomos, Pop's Sunset Grill were excellent restaurants we went to that were nearby. Our highlight day was going down Casey Key Road to see all the billionaire's mansion on the coast; about 5 minutes from Bentley's, then stopping at Casey Key Fish House-fantastic food, and a FUN tiki bar! Bentley's is located near many restaurants, stores, downtown Sarasota-great location, but you will need a car. There is a fridge & Keurig in the room, no microwave, BUT across the parking lot, you may use the microwave @ Virage hotel. There is a lounge area where you can heat up your left over food, eat there & watch TV. There's also a small gym upstairs. We really enjoyed our stay @ Bentley's and would LOVE to return!!!

« Looks good, but once inside you'll notice the rate does not match the room »

Yes we understand the hotel is undergoing renovations following a fire. That said in a $150.00 room we expected a telephone, bathroom vent fan, curtains covering the venetian blinds on the front window, better interior lighting, more that one chair, bedside night stand that at least was upto the mattress height and better lighting that included coverage for the two beds, hair dryer, shaving mirror, desk lamp, etc, etc. Honestly this was more like an $89.00 room. Very limited lighting and no lights turn on with the entry door switch. A bathroom with no vent fan? I'd question if this unfortunate lacking feature is even upto the local building codes. Lighting, well there are a very few options. Surely the person who was or is responsible for this property has seemingly never worked or worse yet stayed in a motel/hotel as so much was missing. All this said the courtyard pool area appeared very nice and recently refurbished.

    « Never Again »

I thought the hotel was good but within 24 hours there was a damaging tornado in the area and the hotel had no power. The hotel did NOT do a good job of communicating. No one even knocked on the door to let me know anything was going on and I never heard any sirens. After pushing, they put me in a hotel for 2 nights a few miles away but then forced me to move back again when the power came on but they were in no way ready for guests as the kitchen was out of order and the place was still a wreck. A/C unit di,dn't work right and couldn't open window, asked to be moved, just all around hectic but I had prepaid the stay so was stuck. They refused to just credit me for everything but the first night. I would have gladly just moved to another hotel for the rest of the stay. They didn't handle it well. It was a serious storm, the two tornadoes that touched down killed 2 people in town but they were in complete disarray with no apparent emergency procedures that made any sense.

« Great Location and Nice Hotel »

This was a lucky find on a short notice. I needed to go to Sarasota to have a meeting with a new business owner about creating murals for her new building. It was right after the new year so rates were dropped down. I got super lucky with the hotel and its price. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and roomy. I had two queen beds. There wasn't much of a view. They had a great pool and poolside bar/restaurant. I went for a nice long swim upon my arrival. After that, I had the shrimp appetizer and a few cocktails at the outdoor bar. The bartender was great. It was a fairly good experience. There were a few things I didn't like. I didn't care for the gaudy paintings in my room. I'm an artist and really wish I could see quality work on hotel walls such as what I create. It won't stop me from going back, because it is a nice place to stay and super location. Also, you need to be a bit mindful of your step when you walk out into the back parking lot. There is a ramp and it drops off a bit, but you don't notice it in the dark until you take a step and twist your ankle. I'd recommend put a few strips of glow in the dark tape so an accident doesn't occur to your guests. I did twist my ankle, eventually it healed. I didn't pursue anything further with the hotel, but I did sign a form and the front desk was very helpful. Other then that it was a terrific stay, and I'd go back in a heart beat.

    « What a nice suprise! »

Purchased the room through hotwire for a great price. I was mildly disappointed after I paid and the hotel was revealed. The pictures didn't quite do it justice. I can not complain! The grounds were well kept; the room was nice-UPDATED! The pool area was equipped with a bar and sand just like a beach! Although it was very quiet, The restaurant bartender was AWESOME! I wish I could remember his name. I saw some of the reviews say that the location was an issue but for us it not bad. There was shopping, Walmart's and restaurants less than 10 minutes away. Siesta Key beach was around 15 min away. Not bad in my opinion.

« Clean and great location »

Love the location, close to our favorite beach. The room is very clean and super comfortable beds. The pool is great and the front desk people are pretty good. The restaurant not that great at all, rude waiters and not good food either. But many nice restaurant close enough.

    « Quaint Hotel »

The location is a little noisy on the main street into town but it is quite charming once inside. There are two hotels located on the property....ask for the one in the front. The one in the back is a little shabby. It was perfectly located for my stay since my family lives right across the highway. The restaurant and bar was lovely and had great food and ambience. I did not have time for the pool but the area looks very inviting. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

    « Nice hotel. »

We enjoyed staying at Bentley's. Very clean hotel and friendly staff. As far as location goes not very close to Siesta Key or Venice Beach. I was not very thrilled with the location. I would recommend this hotel however, be aware that is not so close to the beach,it does not have a microwave in the rooms,, no open windows or patios... I also thought the room could have been a little larger.... Loved the shower. Gorgeous pool with entertainment everyday unless it rains.

« Nicely appointed, but that's about it. »

This review is for Bentley's, there is a separate building on the property owned by the same people called Virage. The place looks good, new furniture and fresh paint. But, rooms are extremely damp and smelly even when we left the air running to try and dry out the air. Like I said, the rooms look nice, but are not clean. There is left over smudges and dust/dirt in bathrooms, and on surfaces generally. Bed was comfortable, but the pillows stunk because of the long-term dampness. Plenty of parking, big pool area - all rooms face the common pool area, we had a lower level room, if the blinds are not perfectly in place people can see in especially after sundown. Maintenance entered our room to spray for bugs when we were out for the day after I told the front desk to NOT have them enter when I'm not there and that I would make myself available if needed- not cool. This place calls itself a resort, but I did not eat/drink at the restaurant or bar. The place has lots of potential, but management needs to take note of the details.

    « Great wedding reception »

We recently held a wedding reception at Bentleys. We received many great compliments from our guests. The catering staff was attentive to every detail. They certainly made the evening most enjoyable. The dessert table was eye popping. Compliments to the chef. The salmon dinner was a big hit. It seems everyone liked that dish the most. Everyone sure had a great time with the shrimp cocktail. The quality of the shrimp was extraordinary! The bar staff was kept busy the whole night. Can't say enough about the staff and how well they kept the food and booze flowing freely........... Those guests who stayed at the hotel that weekend also enjoyed the tropical hotel atmosphere. Great pool and tiki bar! I'm sure they will remember Bentley's the next time they are visiting Sarasota.

« Nice Hotel, odd location »

We booked this hotel for a business trip and were surprised at how nice it was for it's seemingly random location in Osprey. It has a restaurant, tiki bar and apparently a night club. The room was clean and updated, the bathroom was really nice and a fair size, and the bed was comfortable. It feels safe as you have to use a key card for all outside doors other than the main entrance. The room had a fridge, coffee maker and safe, though the safe is a laughable size. Nice to have one, though. The staff was very, very nice. As far as location, not exactly close to the beach, but easy drives to Siesta Key or Venice Beach are great. Wal-Mart is right down the road as well as a nice Westfield mall just bit further. Again, nice hotel. Only real downside was the obvious Fabreeze smell in the halls. While a clean scent, a bit strong. Would stay again.

    « Disappointing »

TL; DR - Never again. I stayed here with two children for one night after spending the day at the beach. As soon as we walked into the lobby I was unimpressed. We stood at the desk for a good five minutes while three different staff members discussed some issue other guests were having. There were no other guests around the lobby - just myself and the children. Still, the staff members continued their conversation as if we weren't standing two feet away from their faces. My two little ones were exhausted and hungry and made it known (the toddler started whining). It was only then that a staff member looked at me (as if I had magically appeared and not been standing in the same spot for five minutes already); she told me she'd be right with me and continued with her conversation for several more minutes before finally beckoning me forward to check in. She was sufficiently polite, but the damage was done. Once we checked in we were told where to go (awfully labeled hallways/doors, btw). The room smelled quite stale but seemed clean...until I walked toward the side of the bed where I saw several Goldfish crackers. Yes. I know. Disgusting. The towels in the room were discolored. Every single towel. In all my years of traveling across several countries, I have never encountered that. It was bizarre. Who would keep a single discolored towel? Let alone six? Very questionable for any hotel. But the biggest nuisance was a missing blind on the sliding door to the patio. Right across our patio there were people drinking at the Tiki Bar; every single person could clearly see into our room if our light was on (it was nighttime). I felt so uncomfortable that I changed the kids into their pajamas in the bathroom and kept the bedroom light off. Another first for me! We were too exhausted to ask for another room, so we just went to sleep right away and were out first thing the next day. I definitely will not return.

Had a wonderful time here. Very beautiful place. Michael was very nice and sweet. The Dj and bartender were amazing. A very romantic place for couples but my ladies enjoyed themselves. Just need more places to eat that are open and not close early. I will return!!!!!

« Perfect 'fishing camp" for central Gulf Coast tarpon hunters »

For the past 8-10 years my fishing buddy and I (both 75+ years old) have driven to Florida in early summer to fish for tarpon off the central Gulf coast. We have stayed at a variety of places, and about 5 years ago we stayed at Bentley's on the recommendation of our fishing guide. We have been staying there ever since. In my opinion the place has improved every year since our first visit. The room rates are moderate, the rooms themselves are modern and well maintained, and the service is outstanding. This year the service at the "tiki bar," at which we always have a drink to rehydrate after cooking in the early morning sun in the guide's flat boat, and usually wind up eating dinner, was particularly great. Families traveling to the area seem to like Bentley's because the swimming pool is usually full of children. I can't comment on it as a family destination, but I can say that if you are planning to go to the Florida Gulf coast to try to catch tarpon in the June run (apparently they go elsewhere starting in July), you couldn't find a better place to stay than Bentley's.
