Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn

My wife and I, and our two long-time friends, all of us in our mid-sixties, stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a coach trip from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and wasn't too bad an experience at all. We would rate this as the second best hotel that we stayed in of the three that were used to accommodate us during our trip, but unfortunately for this hotel the hotel that we rated first was nearly perfect in everything it did, which is quite unusual to say the least. We're all quite seasoned travellers and have all stayed in literally hundreds of hotels across the World, so to say that a hotel was near perfect means that it really must have been good. However, this hotel was still up there with some of the best that we've stayed in. One of the things that let this hotel down was the arrival procedure. When the coach arrived they really weren't ready for us, and excused themselves by telling us that they thought all of the bookings were individual and not part of a coach party. This may be true, but our top hotel had all of our key cards ready within envelopes with all of our names on them, and did not require any other information from us, so we were in our rooms within minutes of arrival. This hotel still required us to complete paperwork, and it took quite a considerable amount of time before we were all in our rooms. To give the staff their due they went into overdrive to try and lessen the amount of time we took to get our key cards and leave Reception. The room was certainly on par with the best hotel, in that it had everything required for our two night stay (large flat screen TV, large comfortable beds, good quality linen (so many pillows :) ), good air conditioning system that heated the room up in no time at all, microwave, coffee maker, toiletries, good quality towels, decent shower with a bath, hair dryer, plenty of storage space and coat hangers, iron/ironing board, fridge – in fact we wanted for nothing). The area was lovely, in that my wife and I had a wander around the top of the hotel's property early on our first morning where we had a fantastic view of the mist over the valley, and also observed a herd of deer just outside the property. Our room was also very quiet as it was well away from the main road at the top end of the property, but this brings another little qualm, in that there is quite a steep hill to negotiate from the Reception to the block with our room in it – the Restaurant where breakfast is served is just across from Reception, so you have to go up and down this hill for your breakfast. It's not too much of a problem if you're fit and healthy, which luckily we are, but if you are in any way infirm then it could be, but I believe they have a buggy to collect and drop people off. We had dinner in the Restaurant on our first evening, which was very good, and the breakfast was also seriously great, in that there was everything you could think of available – I defy anyone not to consider the breakfast at this hotel quite something and truly a great meal to start the day. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, which gave a very homely feel to the place, which is added to by all of the objects in and around the place. There are so many wood carvings around, which made this hotel quite special. The Reception area is a lovely place to spend some time looking at all of the statues and other objects, but don't forget to go upstairs to take a look around the shop – our friends ended up buying three ornaments that would undoubtedly have cost double the price had they been bought in England, if in fact they could have gotten anything similar in England. The more I look at the above review the more I consider just how good this hotel really was, but I've also re-read the review that I gave our top hotel and it does just beat this hotel into a close-run second place. However, I would still want to stay here again if we were in the area, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel, and thank them for their hospitality.

Our first time to Oakhurst, and staying at the Best Western was a very pleasant surprise. It is not your typical Best Western and I would highly recommend this property to all travelers. We were not expecting the super large rooms and comfortable beds, nor the wonderful staff who work the property. The restaurant food and overall experience was the best, especially given that the owner had painted all the of the room murals and paintings on the walls through the property herself. The setting on the side of the mountain is unique and beautiful. The pool and spa are small but the kids seemed to be having a great time, and the exercise room was clean and all of the equipment was in good condition.

This hotel was awesome! They are very friendly and love dogs! Dogs are allowed to be with you through the experience. While on our road trip and trying to find a hotel Tracie was amazing and helped us with everything we needed especially with our dog! Great stay!

Fantastic stay here last Sunday night! Very cool and spacious grounds / amenities / main office. Wonderful and large breakfast included. Very cozy entrance / fireroom area during check -in with updated business nook. Super gracious and accommodating staff. Convenient to restaurants and commercial spots for last minute hiking buys. Will definitely return. Thank you!!!!

Our family absolutely loves this place. It is a rustic view without being a rustic stay. So comfortable. So beautiful. You have to stay here. great rooms , great breakfast, great restaurant, great view, great staff. Something for everyone.

Easily one of my favorite hotels I've been to as soon as you walk into the lobby your greeted by multiple bear figures high ceilings and the nicest front desk workers I've seen every room has it's own custom mural painted by the original owner every room has minor touches that all add up from the beautiful doors to extra outlets by the beds to keurig in the room and a fridge freezer every room has a balcony I saw a herd of deer running through the streets last night it was an honor staying here even for the night I loved this place

As always, each time I stay at the gateway I have had an excellent experience. This is true for my last stay this past Dec. The staff were welcoming from the breakfast staff to housekeeping staff. As always, the restaurant on site has proved to be excellent each time I have dined there. My friends and I made sure we didn't forget our bathing suits so we could enjoy the hot tub on site. It's a great hotel to book if you are on your way to Yosemite.

The Staff here was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean, and pretty. There was plenty of parking and lots of amenities. Swimming Pools, Gym, Jacuzzi and yummy breakfast. Try the Salmon in the restaurant it was amazing!! and followed with Chocolate Chip bread pudding or Sticky Toffee pudding. Yummy

Really comfortable beds the rooms had really nice bathrooms and amenities included. The breakfast was really good with many options to choose from. The dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Will be returning for another stay soon

Super nice staff and clean property ! My son really enjoyed the indoor pool !!! I enjoyed the Hot Tube ! Always enjoy staying at this Hotel, it fits into the environment, not like some of the cooperate places they have built in the mountains.

This is not your average Best Western! The staff and amenities were great! The wooded and groomed property made us feel like we were at a resort. There are two pools: a dated but clean indoor and an outside hot tub and pool I highly recommend. We had a great stay!

The rooms are fine in general but apart from that we paid for safety and a comfortable place to stay but instead lost a sentimental and important thing to us. My husband washed our children's utensils so he removed his wedding ring from his finger and placed it on the table. He forgot to put it back as we head out the door. Since sites in Yosemite were hours away from the hotel and we had 2 toddlers, we did finish our itinerary for the day and got back to the hotel 5pm. When we got back, we had new towels already so the housekeeper went in and the ring was missing as well. We talked to housekeeping and they just said that they will check but they did not give an update with no urgency. Before we checked out, I even left a note on the table hoping to awaken the conscience of the housekeeper to no avail. When we got home from our vacation, I e-mailed and messaged the hotel's Facebook page and they NEVER REPLIED. I made an international call and just got a "we will get back to you" which until now NO UPDATE. Such a disappointing experience. Better check in at a different hotel

the location is perfect and it was very near to the park. The restaurant served great food and packed with customers. The best thing is we parked our suv right in front on our room, it was so easy to bring your stuff to the room. The staff were so helpful and gave us tips regarding our room key. It was an awesome stay with the Great Western PLUS Gateway Inn

The Staff at Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn is very helpfull, friendly and always in a good mood. Also the breakfast was very good. What I liked most were the fresh fruits. Thank you for a very nice stay!

I highly recommend this hotel to all. Clean and the breakfast was good. Love the location! It was so convenient and close to all. I chose this hotel based on the previous reviews and it did not disappoint me. Only one thing I want the hotel to change is their AC! It's old and makes loud noises. Overall, My family enjoyed out stay here!

This hotel's location is convenient, easy to find, nicely decorated and the staff are more than polite and helpful. The breakfast is one of the best I have at other hotels, ample varieties and tasty and nutritious. Excellent job! One of the most important feature was that they accept pets and provided areas for the pet to relief themselves, as my dog is a part of my family and it was great to be able to bring her along with me.

Loved it here. Staff everywhere were wonderful. Grounds are beautiful and peaceful. By far our new favorite hotel. Very pet friendly which was so nice. An extra shoutout to all the staff in the bar and grill. Everyone was so nice and helpful.

the Best Western Yosemite Gateway understands the needs of visitors to Yosemite and has developed its Inn to cater to people who stop in Oakhurst just before entering the national park or who stay in Oakhurst and drive into the park daily to visit. Either way, they have modeled their business to be a very pleasant experience.

I really liked this hotel. It is very large and I wish I stayed longer to enjoy the pool area. It had a great free breakfast at a restraunt with far more offerings than your typical "free breakfast" hotels, and the room was also very spacious.

First be clear that it's not in Yosemite, it's 30 mins drive from south entrance and eg another hour's drive to Yosemite Valley. However, we knew that when we booked (because nothing available in Yosemite itself). It's also near Bass Lake as a change from driving into Yosemite. We had a suite (two bedrooms both with two queen beds plus a large bathroom and small kitchen area), which was spacious for three adults and a teen. Efficient but noisy aircon; small indoor and outdoor pools but great to use in the 40 degree heat; guest laundry was handy; decent breakfast selection and good food at dinner; helpful staff. Location was on main road but large site so we were well away from it; limited selection of non-fast-food places to eat nearby but restaurant good (for breakfast and dinner) although be prepared to queue for dinner in high season as don't take bookings

We were greeted by friendly staff who were very helpful. The wooded setting was ideal! We were also located close to delicious restaurants. We were impressed with the free breakfast with amazing views! It was great to tank up the kids at 6am before heading out to explore Yosemite.

The restaurant staff made the stay for us. Really helpful, friendly and very efficient. Large dining area and the tables were cleared away quickly so no problem getting a table. Huge breakfast if you wanted and great variety Nice clean rooms and plenty of towels. We booked a family suite (double bed and room with 2 double beds). They layout gave us some privacy/space - bedrooms separated by kitchen area and bathroom. We used the pool which was a welcome relief from the heat and revived our legs after hiking round Yosemite Valley.

The level of service was excellent here. The cleaning and grounds crews, the front desk staff and Restaurant Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I noticed not just for my family but for others as well. There was constantly staff driving around in golf carts taking care of rooms and the landscaping. We were very happy with this place especially on our "down day" when we just hung out by the (outdoor) pool. The included breakfast was very good. Regrettably, we did not get a chance to try the restaurant for dinner or have a drink at the bar but the convenience was appreciated. Also, the location to amenities in town for groceries and pharmacy as well as other restaurants made for convenient stops on our way and back from hiking at Yosemite.

The room was quiet, and comfortable. Very close to the Yosemite park entrance. They have two pools to pick from which was great for my kids (3&8). The breakfast staff are very efficient and many options to pick from. Dinner was good but the service is a bit odd cause you don't have a dedicated server for sections so things get a little lost in translation switching between servers, you do get a lot of options for kids and the portions are of a generous size. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

After a good time and long days at Yosemite we came back to a dirty room and unmade beds. We never been in a hotel before where the rooms are not cleaned and the beds are made every day. When we called the front desk she said all she can do is leave a note to the housekeepers supervisor which will not help us because we were leaving the next day.

Stayed here at the end of June 2023 and loved it. I looked at the other hotels in Oakhurst, but this one won out because of the free breakfast and I was happy we chose this place. From the outside, compared to the other hotels I saw around here, this place is the best as far as feeling like you are more in nature than just a hotel. One day we were in the indoor pool and a deer came right up to the window and looked in for a little. So cute! The breakfast was good - when we were there it alternated between french toast and biscuits and gravy - both along with eggs, breakfast potatoes sausages or bacon and fruit and muffins. There is also a self-service waffle maker, cereal, a yogurt station, coffee, milk and juice. We never ate lunch or dinner there though as the prices were too high for us. The room was clean and I loved the soap/lotion they had. The staff was friendly and helpful. Two complaints I have are 1) the WiFi for my husband in our room was very spotty. My daughter and I didn't have issues, but his was really bad. Though it worked by the pool just fine. 2) Loved the indoor pool, however, the water is a bit old smelling - out bathing suits and hair had a wet dog smell afterwards. I would highly recommend this hotel. Also check out the cute animal feeding area right across from the restaurant behind the main lobby - birds, squirrels and even deer were eating there one day. It was like snow white lived there!

My family and I chose this hotel for a summer visit to Yosemite, which was part of a larger California summer roadtrip. As I travel for a living, and my family and I also travel quite a lot together, I felt confident in choosing this hotel based on online ratings, reviews, etc. To the contrary, this choice was a notable fail on my part. Listed below are some specific highlights, but not a complete list of the problems we encountered during our stay (if you care to read on). If not, I would simply recommend avoiding this hotel and the attached restaurant. There are several newer hotels down the street (Fairfield, Holiday Inn, etc.) that seemed nice. Upon check in, we discovered that the staff had placed us in the incorrect room...which smelled like mold and animal urine. They then moved us to the only other room they had available, which was a much smaller ADA room close to significant road noise (which is likely why it was still available). The agent offered us 2 additional chairs to make the room more accommodation for our family of 4, which we accepted. However, the person who delivered the chairs then shouted in anger at us for having to deliver them- which was a bit shocking to us. We then took the kids to a well needed pool visit, after which discovered that we couldn't access our room because the locking mechanism wouldn't release, causing the door to remain locked (leaving all of our belongings inside of the room and us outside of the room). When we called the front desk and asked for help, the staff didn't believe us, telling us the card keys were programmed to work and that their staff was too busy to help. We finally flagged down a staff member who confirmed that the lock was damaged- leading to 45 more minutes of them attempting to access our room. When we finally reached a member of the management staff (none of whom apparently work on weekends?!?!), they countered by telling me about their award-winning staff and high trip advisor ratings, claiming they were shocked by our story. However, after chatting with a few other guests during our stay who were less than enthusiastic about their experience at this hotel, these claims were difficult to believe. The general manager offered a partial refund, which was far less than expected and never followed up with me again. There is more to report but you get the general idea. Hope this helps future travelers!

Location to Yosemite is close, clean room as expected, breakfast is very good. Easy check in. Nice surrounding around hotel. would be a place that I would suggest to anyone and will stay here again if ever come close to this area.

Have stayed in several Best Western hotels and this one ranks at the top! All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Couldn't help but notice how hard working they were. Can't think of anything to complain about. The breakfast was great with several options. Enjoy the breakfast! Unfortunately a lot of wasted food was left behind when people took more than they would eat!

I have stayed here many times over the years, and for the price and the area it is always a great stay. The hotel and grounds are clean. It has two hot tubs an indoor and outdoor pool. It has plenty of outdoor space. It is also dog friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant next door is good, The staff are cheerful and helpful.

Stayed 2 nights ! Hotel is wonderful ! Its in the city but you would never know it because of the wonderful landscaping! Staff were fantastic ! Free breakfast at the Restaurant was very good and had evyyou would expect for a Great Breakfast !

Great Western Yosemite Gateway is superior. The entire staff is friendly and act like they care about making your stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast is great. Fluffy eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, bacon, potatoes, waffles, muffins and lots of sweet cream for your coffee. The rooms are clean and inviting. The grounds are beautiful with both an outdoor and indoor spa - next to the large indoor poor. I love this place

We recently stayed at this motel. We were 9 people in 5 rooms and they took the time to group us all in one building which made the logistics of our stay manageable. The rooms are lovely; each guest room has a large mural painted by the owner, no two alike. The indoor pool and hot tub were exceptional and our nightly hangout. The check-in building has a two-story rock fireplace. The staff was friendly and helpful at every turn. This place has so much personality, we were very glad we didn't stay at one of the "big box store of hotels" down the street. Their architecture looked like something out of the Eastern Block.The bar is lovely, warm, inviting, and the bartenders know their drinks!

Our first journey to Yosemite National Park included staying in this hotel in Oakhurst. The staff was hospitable & friendly. Room was comfortable and location was perfect. Had a good dinner next door, as well as breakfast. You can choose newer hotel chains down the road but we will not. No parking fees.

The Gateway is a unique & classic hotel on 10 acres of mature beautiful grounds located within an hour of the south gate to Yosemite. Our experience included a restaurant with whisky bar that easily accommodated our large group of 10 with craft cocktails & dinner. The lobby has a classic lodge decor with rock and exposed beams. A full breakfast was offered every morning. Every room has a cozy fireplace and a mural hand painted by the owner. The indoor pool & spa was our meet up place to soak & swim at the end of the day to rehash our daily adventures. The staff was extremely attentive and accommodating. We would definitely visit again.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel the room was very spacious and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The warm breakfast was a huge plus on a cold snowy and rainy day. The only downside was the location as it was right near the street and the walls were very thin.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western in Oakhurst. It was an excellent value and offered much more than the average hotel stay. We were able to take advantage of the restaurant on site, which was wonderful as many things were closed in town. The room we stayed in had three queen beds, and we could bring our dog. it was very tidy and the staff was very polite and considerate. We also took advantage of the indoor pool and hot tub through out our stay. The breakfast included with the state is one of the best I've had for a family hotel. There were a lot of options eggs, potatoes, waffles, toast, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, and so much more. I was very grateful for the filling breakfast before we head out on our family adventures! The staff was very accommodating when we had to stay an extra day due to inclement weather. We will definitely be returning.

Had a great stay. This BW made for a more affordable family snow trip. Clean rooms, and good amenities (indoor pool, hot tub, restraurant and playground, dog park area. Good for casual, affordable stay.

Great stay!! We did have a big water leak from the rain in our room. They did their best to get it fixed. The indoor pool is a huge plus during the winter. The kids loved it breakfast is good, but very busy!!

Great price! Very very clean! They gave free breakfast an actual breakfast, not just tosts and milk. But variety of food! Rooms were easy to access! Really closed to the stores and the Yosemite park entrance!

We stayed one night and enjoyed it immensely. The highlight was the complimentary full breakfast served from 7-10AM. The food was very good, the selection was substantial, and plenty of staff were on hand to serve and keep the restaurant very clean. The room was nicely decorated with pictures of Yosemite National Park. The grounds were on a steep hillside, with numerous trees and well maintained. Everything in the room was properly maintained and working. We had an easy to use heater. The shower was adjustable, good for optimal comfort. The bed was firm and we both had a good night's sleep. The room was quiet. We could not tell that we had neighbors. Winter rates are at budget prices. We checked in and out in 1-2 minutes.

Staff during check-in was extremely helpful especially since I had never been to the Yosemite motel before and didn't realize the rooms were all spread out over a stretch of land on the side of a hill or mountain. Chelsea took time to explain how to get to my room and where the dining room was for me to be able to get my breakfast in the morning. I stayed at other Best Westerns but never did I expect my room to be right next to the trees and the wilderness area! It felt just like camping outdoors! Even though I didn't visit Yosemite, yet I felt reasonably close to the outdoors to really find staying at the Yosemite Best Western motel a truly unique experience and one I would love to experience again!

Good location, environment, values, breakfast. It is close to Yosemite on 41, but the hotel rooms are up on a hill, so it is quiet. The breakfast included in the rate is superb. Staffs are great both in hotel and restaurant.

This property is a series of buildings that climb a hill in a beautiful wooded area with lots of green spaces. We stayed in a building the farthest at the top which meant a steep descent and climb to go to the restaurant on the premises. Worth doing; dinner was delicious and the buffet breakfast was efficient and tasty. The room size was ample and comfortable with many thoughtful amenities. I like having an extra sink with coffee maker, microwave and 'fridge for snack prep. Bathroom was also big with lots of counter space. Each staff member we dealt with was friendly, informative and professional. They have a good thing going here!

Mostly, I loved this hotel. It's a bit older and the rooms could use a refresh, but the hotel grounds were beautiful and had so much character and charm. All of the employees we encountered were so helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure our visit was great. We had two issues during our week visit. Our room didn't get cleaned two days of our stay even though we requested it, but they gave us a small discount for the inconvenience. Also, the indoor jacuzzi wasn't working while we were there, and no sign was posted to let people know. In both cases the front desk apologized, and it felt genuine. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we were in the area.

We had a family suite & it was a very good value. There were 2 rooms with a total of 3 queen beds. There was a small kitchenette with sink, mini refrigerator, microwave & electric cootop. There are 2 sinks & a bathroom with shower. The free breakfast was excellent & is in a nice large dining room. The location is about 45 minutes from the Mariposa entrance to Yosemite. However, the tradeoff of being a little farther away is all of the dining options in Oakhurst. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Yosemite.

We were very impressed with our room and our entire stay. Staff was very helpful and very accommodating and friendly. Complementary breakfast every morning was very good and very convenient on our trip. We look forward to staying again!

We booked this hotel not really liking to stay in a 'chain' hotel but wanting to stay in the Yosemite Park. We were greatly surprised! The staff were soooo friendly, answering questions and helping with area suggestions. We even met the owner on visit to checkout whom had painted all of the murals hanging throughout hotel rooms and lobby. Breakfast was at their restaurant next door, warm or cold continental menu served cafeteria style. Hotel was at least 1/2 hour from park entrance was the only drawback.

Excellent facilities, really helpful and friendly staff. Great value for money. Our favourite hotel on our road trip. Great spacious room, so good to have a decent breakfast included - this makes such a difference to the start of your day. If we ever go to Yosemite again this is where we would stay!

A short 30 minute drive to the South entrance of Yosemite, this BW Plus is perfectly situated and is staffed with the friendliest employees ever! The main building houses the lobby, business center, restrooms and a small gift shop upstairs. The rooms are in buildings that are scattered around the property (up a fairly steep hill). Across from the main lobby building is the restaurant/lounge and breakfast room. There is a small outdoor heated pool and spa near the first group of buildings. Further up the hill is a building with a large indoor pool with an outdoor patio. Note that there are no elevators (each building is 2 stories) so a room on the 2nd floor is accessed by a flight of stairs (about 16 stairs) and it was a bit of a challenge dragging our luggage up there (2 seniors). So if mobility is an issue, you might want to request a room on the ground floor. The upstairs rooms have a covered balcony with chairs and a small table (the balcony is not private, however; it runs continuously along the rooms). Downstairs rooms have a patio with chairs/tables. The wifi was fast and reliable and there are plenty of plugs to charge all your devices. Microwave and decent size refrigerator made keeping leftovers convenient. Singe use coffee pot with 6 coffee pods provided daily. Beds, pillows, towels -- all comfortable. Bathroom had a nice long counter which was perfect for spreading all your toiletries out. Tub/shower combo with great water pressure. Room tip: Ask for a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the outdoor pool; perfect location for viewing the deer that roam the property and a lovely view of the mountains. (Room #223 is on the end, so not only do you not have someone on each side of you, but the balcony is more private.)

We spent three nights at this property during our recent trip to Yosemite. We had a very clean and comfortable room near the outdoor pool and hot tub. We loved all of the nooks and crannies around the property with areas for the kids to play and to see the wildlife. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a great home base for Yosemite.

This is one of the best hotels I've been to. I love the location, the setting is beautiful. The artwork all over the hotel, including in the rooms, was so pretty. The rooms themselves, were great with comfortable beds and nice balcony views. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and I appreciated how welcomed they made us feel. I would like to especially mention Rhonda and Lori at the front desk, they were both very attentive and gave us a warm welcome. In the dining room, we really appreciated the two brothers Kyle (am shift) and "spider" (pm shift.) They are both such hard workers and the best part, that makes them stand out, is that they always had such a great smile, a great attitude. We would highly recommend this hotel! It's also a great location as far as getting to Yosemite.

Hotel is in a good location for visiting Yosemite. Friendly staff. The rooms were clean. The restaurant and bar service were excellent. Breakfast and dinner were good. We arrived late on the first evening and ate at the bar. Very friendly atmosphere.

This is the best, Best Western than I have ever stayed at. This is an older hotel with mature trees separating the different buildings. You can barely see them. The room was mostly updated but very clean. Breakfast was very good. The staff I spoke to seemed very happy to work here. There is an indoor pool and hot tub.also an outdoor pool.

One of the best stays I've had traveling around NorCal. Great experience and pleasant stay overall in park like setting, very clean and well maintained facilities, great amenities, towels were soft!, restaurant and service are good, best breakfast spread with plenty of options, staff are so friendly and hospitable. Oakhurst is a laid back little area, about an hour drive to Yosemite Village including scenic stops along with way. Loved it.

Everyone was friendly the facilities were clean. The staff was helpful to make sure we had everything we needed. Our pet was made to feel welcome through out the hotel. We could not have asked for a better experience.

This is a great hotel. Clean and comfortable. Great restaurant (Oakhurst Grill) co-located on the property. A nice buffet breakfast include also at the Oakhurst Grill. Beautiful grounds and an extremely friendly staff. BTW, there are no elevators, so if you have mobility issues be sure to request the ground floor.

GREAT STAFF w/ great attitudes towards guests! Feels very safe here, clean, every oddball thing you need available on site like a guest laundry, coffee shop, free breakfast w/ great muffins & OJ... rates are high everywhere, but the rooms here are on 8 green acres, multi-level, large rooms very clean feel all around- beautiful lobby w/ good gift shop & pets are allowed. They cap the fee @ $100, not everyday charge like other places that are nowhere the caliber of this hotel. ALL the staff are pleasant & act like they are glad to be there, treat guests well, you are not ignored or brushed off. I felt the beds were very comfy & the furniture is not worn or dirty, again, as I've seen in way too many other hotels - the place is QUALITY, really well tended & kept up with daily hard work & attention.

This is a beautiful location! I've stayed several times over the years and have always had a pleasant experience. There's really a feeling of being truly in the forest. The indoor pool and spa are great in the wintertime. The rooms are clean and updated.

Good hotel in very pleasant grounds. Rooms split into many blocks over the grounds with lovely views from the balcony. Breakfast is in the restaurant so can be a walk from some blocks like ours near the top of grounds. The breakfast is plentiful and varied from waffles to fruit. Room is spacious and well laid out. Annoyingly and maybe a COVID hangover rooms are only cleaned of litter and towels by default and you have to request before 10am every day if you want anything else like beds made or sheets changed. Either go back to what really use to be the norm fir hotel service or at least take a request once and ask is it required over the stay. Air con units are also very noisy and could do with an upgrade

I found the room to be clean and comfortable. The rooms might be a little out dated but still kept clean. The property is large and I could see deer grazing on the grounds. The restaurant was good for dinner and the Breakfast buffet was probably one of the best I have experienced.

Very nice and pleasant hotel. Everyone I dealt with, from front desk to breakfast team and cleaning staff, was nice and help was nice and helpful. Also, the hotel is in a nice wood/garden environnement adding to the pleasant experience. And a very convenient full restaurant is right next. I just wished I took the time to enjoy their both indoor and outdoor pool...

Planned a last minute getaway to the next town over. Online search, day of, found this to be the perfect spot for us. We need 2 rooms for 3 adults and 3 kids. Also in the middle of town. The gal who checked us in was very nice and helpful, getting us rooms next door and next to the pool. Gave us tips about town and the trolley. The only complaint would be that the pool isn't very big. The rooms were very clean and updated.

It is my favorite place to stay when going to Yosemite. The rooms are quiet and relaxing set in beautifully landscaped surroundings. Ours had a balcony overlooking the grounds. Rooms were spacious with seating and had all the amenities for our comfort.

Great place to stay on a getaway trip to Yosemite. Loved the complimentary breakfast and not having to think about where to eat before visiting Yosemite Park Loved the 2 pools only used the outdoor 1 but great of know on our next trip back in the Spring. .

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend. This hotel is VERY dated. It was clean. It was ALOT of money for what it was. I could go on about some other less appealing things but bottom line if this hotel was $100.00 a night I would not be disappointed. The breakfast was great as were the people who worked at the restaurant serving it. The room we stayed in was above the lobby. The view was not the mountains or trees but a parking lot, a Chinese restaurant and its parking lot and the highway. I booked it sight unseen on the credit cards travel page. We were so excited to go to Yosemite and get some time away. We checked out a night early because neither of was wanted to sleep there again. Upon checking out the front desk attendant told me it was too late to get a refund (which I did not ask for)...she asked me if everything was ok..I told her it was not a good room location.....buyer beware.....wish I could say something else about it that was positive about it..... The clerk on check out was very nice!

We were evacuated due to a wildfire. These folks took us in with our dogs, no questions asked. We were here for 6 days and even though we couldn't get home, we felt at home. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Enjoyed my stay overall. Reception and night staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to provide good service. Large grounds with lots of opportunity for wildlife spotting a bonus. The dining room was rather dated and the food okay but not great. The Truckee Best Western was a little more upmarket than the Oakhurst Best Western. This hotel is 55 miles from the El Portal entrance to Yosemite so a long drive needs to be taken into account if visiting Yosemite.

We had a bad experience in an airbnb nearby and needed another place to sleep late in the evening as we could/would not sleep at the creepy airbnb, and ended up here. Received great help from Hope, the receptionist. Got a nice room which abled us to get back to earth.. or heaven, thanks to Hope! Next day enjoyed the great breakfast and a swim in the pool. If you are looking for a great place, don't look further... you found it!

I loved this property! The layout of the rooms were pretty big, and the property itself had a lot of room. The indoor pool and the complimentary breakfasts were a huge bonus. The location was great because it was pretty close to both Yosemite National Park, and Bass Lake.

So many great things about this hotel! Nice, full breakfast at the restaurant on site. It's quite a spacious hotel with a myriad of paths, gardens, critters, etc. It's pet friendly which is what initially led us here. Upon arrival, the front desk people were super friendly and helpful with area and park suggestions. There was an indoor and outdoor pool along with a hot tub. Lots of staff around working maintenance, cleaning and tending to the property in general. The room was spacious and clean. I will say the room was pretty dated and heavy on the dark wood and decor so we kind of of thought the room was depressing. Old, dark carpet and a dark mural on one wall. It had a microwave, two sinks, and the bathroom had lots of counter space. Thanks

The staff at this Best Western was exceptionally friendly and the rooms are uniquely decorated in a Yosemite theme. It was a lot of fun staying here the night before going to the park. The hotel also has a pretty decent restaurant onsite so you don't have to go far for a meal if you're tired from the day.

This place is like a resort. The grounds are so lovely and peaceful. I so enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it! I ate at the restaurant and the staff is so professional and friendly. The service was great for both dinner and breakfast. The rooms have balconies that open to the resort and add an extra sense of pleasure. This one is a treasure and I plan on returning.

We stayed 4 nights for our Yosemite trip. While it's a bit of a drive to get to Yosemite Valley (approx 1 to 1.5 hours), we were really glad we stayed here. Oakhurst is a good little town with a couple of grocery stores, a small movie theater, pizza places, etc. The hotel was comfortable and pleasant, with a good hot breakfast every morning served by friendly employees. Our kids loved the pools and also used the fitness room. We stayed in a 2-room suite that was quite spacious and perfect for our family of 5 (including 3 teenagers).

I frequent this hotel when traveling for work in Yosemite. It's a great facility with very helpful staff. The ladies at the front desk do a great job of making the check in process very quick and easy and always have a great attitude and go out of there way to make the process quick and easy. I highly recommend this as the location to stay if traveling to Yosemite.

As the high ratings suggest, this property offers good value. Although it was for 1 night, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. At night, we even had the opportunity to use the heated indoor pool. The breakfast had cooked food and service is good. Overall 5 stars! Tip: Denny's and a (good) Chinese restaurant is next door - additional food options.

What a great property. In town, but still in the "forest". The grounds here are exceptional. You feel like you are still experiencing the Yosemite vibe. Good size rooms. Restaurant on property. Good size room we had. We really enjoyed the balcony after a day out and about. Quiet, tranquil but not isolated.

We stayed here for the half marathon the week before and couldn't wait to come again. Loved the lobby's decor, the quiet of the room, the pool and jacuzzi and the restaurant food. Teh staff was noticably friendly and helpful. It was all great!

We stayed here twice on a recent trip to the Yosemite Area. The rooms are nice. They were clean and comfortable. The rooms are in several buildings spread across a hillside. The grounds are nice to walk around in. Breakfast was a served buffet in an actual restaurant on the grounds of the hotel.

Amazing staff and surroundings. Dinner was the best! George the chef does a perfect steak! Loved the room. Had everything you could want and the balcony's were a plus. My favorite place to stay in oakhurst.

This hotel is very ideal for visiting Yosemite. It is clean, close to Yosemite national park and the staff are helpful. I completely forgot to take photos before we left but the room was a good size, clean and a comfortable bed. Decent value for money as you get breakfast included.

We travel with dogs so our expectations are low. There's a huge variance on what hotel chains find acceptable for dog acceptance. We were delighted to find that BW Oakhurst had plenty of space for the dogs to roam and do their business - and provided potty bags on site - even tho we always travel with our own. As for us humans - we were housed in the 400 level hotel rooms and were granted a move based on a noisy young family next to us. Thankfully there was room. We are cognizant of our dogs and their barking and wanted a space not next to anyone else. Thanks for accommodating us. The free breakfast was the pleasant surprise. Made to order eggs were fabulous. I appreciated that especially since prices for breakfast in-town were really a bit high. Proximity to the park is good - we have stayed in Mariposa - and Oakhurst has much more entities/utilities if something were to go wrong or be amiss. Thanks to the front-desk folks for guiding us to local restaurants and hikes - as well as accommodating our needs for quiet. We will tell all our friends….

This location is outside the south end of Yosemite and is a large facility with a nice breakfast buffet included. Although I usually prefer interior room entrances for safety and quiet, our room was both quiet and secure.

Loved the clean rooms, lots of pillows, an abundance of towels, clean pool area, lush landscaping, waterfall, fountain, lobby is very nice, check in was quick and easy, we arrived early and the rooms were available early.

This place is clean staff friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast in the morning was great many options. Good bang for your buck. I'm kinda picking on hotels, and this one fit the bill. Would definitely stay again

We almost always stay here when going to Yosemite - it's a great location and the staff are awesome. breakfast is much better than at most Best Westerns also. Parking is free, the rooms are quite nice and larger than most and the property is truly beautiful. One point to remember about the town - if you are there in the off season, restaurants and shops tend to close quite early - the front desk was super helpful when we needed to find a place to eat though....

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were very happy to stay at the little cottage on the premises. It was just perfect for us! The staff was also great - very helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was excellent.

There were 6 in our group. 5 adults and one kid. From the quick check in to the clean room, beautiful grounds, comfy beds, great indoor pool, big yummy breakfast, helpful and friendly staff, we were all very pleased and pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was!

When traveling to Yosemite or just staying close to town, this is a great hotel to give you the look and feel of the local hospitality. The hotel has lots of character. My favorite part is how each building is located on a different level of the mountain. So beautiful!

Room is spacious and clean with complimentary breakfast. Hotel is very near Yosemite national park and road to hotel had less traffic. There are a few restaurants around the hotel and food is quite good and inexpensive.

Planned trip to Yosemite but knew we couldn't overnight in the Park with our dog. We've stayed at Best Westerns before with our dog and have been fine with them so this one was our pick. It surpassed our expectations. We asked for a room near the dog lawn and we're given a spacious room with 2 very comfortable queen beds, 2 easy chairs and table, desk with chair, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, flatscreen tv. An extensive buffet breakfast was included. The staff was very helpful and friendly, as well. The drive to Yosemite South Gate was about an hour. Sadly, the fires that raged through here last year left a forest of blackened and ashy dead trees along our route. But Yosemite itself seemed untouched and was as beautiful as ever. The Best Western has a lodge look to it and feels like more than a motel. It is also located at the edge of downtown, with great access to restaurants and stores. We plan to come back and stay here again with family (and dogs). Highly recommended.

Retro lodge motel feel without being dated or dingy. Beautiful grounds. Our room was very clean and comfortable. About 1.5 hrs to the Yosemite visitors center, but the drive is gorgeous. We brought our small dog and there was plenty of space for us to walk him.

The staff is ALWAYS so pleasant and helpful..They truly aim to make each person's stay awesome!!! The rooms are very clean..Anything that is needed is only a phone csll away!! We have a daughter with Special needs and the staff goes out of their way to help!!

Lodge full? This Best Western is like a resort and a beautiful drive to Yosemite Park. Balconies with treed views, very quiet and relaxing, especially after walking and sightseeing in the Park all day! Great restaurant and the friendliest staff! This is a rare place and an unexpected delight .

My Family enjoyed the Indoor pool and the Jacuzzi the hot breakfast is a plus we've stayed in different hotels but this one is our favorite, also when it's winter we loved that it's snow right outside our door !

Very friendly staff, clean and cozy room, easy parking, very good breakfast and loved hanging out in the hot tub! There is a restaurant and bar onsite. Easy to get to the park, we went skiing at Badger Pass. The carved wooden sculptures around the property add some quirky charm.

We highly recommend this Inn. Restaurant was convenient with good food. Complimentary breakfast was provided at restaurant from staffed buffet instead of a hotel space with abundant sugary choices. Rooms and grounds are lovely.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past, it's a good location for our visit to Badger Pass Ski area. The staff are amazing, always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning is good, their staff are also helpful.

I spent Christmas eve and day at the Yosemite gateway hotel. My room was great, comfortable and cozy, having a gas fireplace. My room was large as well the bathroom. Breakfast was more than the typical sack containing a muffin and juice. We got a hot breakfast every morning. The restaurant located at the hotel is a fun place having a large bar featuring many whiskeys as well any other cocktails. The dinner there was fabulous. I had the best new York steak and the staff were so friendly and were working hard to make sure all felt welcomed.

The rooms were clean and so roomy. Plenty of space for me and my family! The property is great for pets also, because I took my big boy, and there was lots of grassy areas for him! They accommodated me and my family and my dog super well! Easy check in and check out also, the front office staff were very nice! One of the best stays at a hotel I've had in awhile!

This hotel was in a perfect location to go to the snow for our family trip. The indoor pool and outdoor pool was a nice addition and plenty of outdoor views on the property well taken care of. Restaurant was tasty for dinner and a free breakfast. Rooms were nice too. Only thing I would change would be the beds. Definitely too firm of a bed.

Manager accuses people of smoking in the room then takes half the deposit. First of all there were two people in room. When we got there the room smelled of cigarette smoke. We didn't say anything and just stayed. Next morning she accuses us of smoking weed in room. Neither one of us smoke weed. What she said is slander. She needs to issue refund of the might we stayed and the refund she kept.

We stayed at this hotel to explore Yosemite, and enjoyed our stay very much. The lobby was nicely decorated and has a cosy feeling. The rooms are also a good size, though furniture and fittings are slightly dated. The restaurant serves breakfast in the morning, and transforms into a lounge/dinner place in the evening. We had dinner there and the beer and food was great. Some rooms are only accessible through stairs, something to consider if you want a room that is easy to access from your car.

Last minute plans for Years Years needed to be made. Best Western in Oakhurst CA was Pet friendly, clean and reasonable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I would recommend staying there if you have fur babies.

The lodging was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff is what makes this lodging extraordinary, however. Everyone was exceptionally pleasant and went out of their way to make our stay incredibly comfortable and pleasant. It is just a little way out of Yosemite National park and this made visiting the park, even during a snow storm, very convenient.

Located just outside south entrance. Older but very nice and clean hotel. Great service and great restaurant right next door. [Oakhurst Grill]. This is also where [included] breakfast is served. Opted to stay on west side of park following 2 nights in El Portal. Much more expensive & terrible "lodge". Wish we would have stayed here every night.

The service and rooms here are always terrific. They have good space and even options for bigger families. The breakfast is at a restaurant and is so good. My kids think it is the best part! And you can't beat the drive to Yosemite!

Everything was clean and enjoyable. Staff is excellent and so are the rooms. The Chinese restaurant next store is also very good and tasty, so access to clean rooms and Chinese food next store made for the PERFECT stay!!!

Nice dog friendly hotel with grounds in a wooded setting. Friendly staff and we received excellent service. We ate at the restaurant for dinner which was very good. Our trip was to Yosemite and the hotel was 30 minutes to the entrance which was an easy drive from the hotel.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The staff is friendly and courteous. We enjoyed the restaurant, breakfast and dinner. This was our first time visiting this area and going to Yosemite. The drive to the park was scenic, maybe 30-40 minutes. Oakhurst is a good size city with all of the stores and things that you would need. We would definitely stay here again!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful long weekend at this inn outside of the southern gates of Yosemite. The hotel grounds are as I said “enchanting.” Huge squirrels played in the tree tops just outside each room's balcony, while deer grazed below. The grounds are covered in unique art pieces/ statues. My favorite was the vintage inspired street lamps lighting the walkways. I didn't swim, but there are both an indoor and outdoor pool/jacuzzi. My room was clean and large. We had a mural of Yosemite painted on the wall. The continental breakfast was great, real eggs! Plus, all the sides to make a great breakfast burrito. The staff was friendly and provided top notch customer service. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Just a short 30 minute drive to Yosemite National Park. Booking a tour bus is the best way to beat the parking problems in the park. The "Yosemite Gateway Inn" is in a good location for traveling to Yosemite park. Our room looked as though it had not been cleaned thoroughly for some time. There was visible (ionized) dust on the bathroom vent. Dust on the curtains covering the sliding door to the balcony. There was no bath tub mat making taking a shower a risky challenge. The bed was comfortable, but had no blanket. The pillows were the best part of the room (or I was just really tired). Did not explore the small pool, and hot tub that was next to our unit. Would we stay again - probably not since we only live 3 hours away.

Breakfast was delicious, rooms were clean and had great views. Location was perfect for Yosemite day trip. We were able to sleep well. Staff was friendly. We were greeted when we arrived late. The hostess answered questions with patience and knowledge.

When we first got to the front desk the lady who help us didn't seem that friendly. She acted a little stiff I don't know but I felt like was it because we were a bi-racail couple with mixed children and not Caucasian? I guess they don't see too many blk and Asian in town so maybe the lady didn't feel comfortable, but after I told her my daughter graduated from this missionary school then she started to relaxed and started being friendlier, but besides that every thing was good.

This hotel is in a great location and has so many nice amenities. There is a restaurant next door (breakfast there is included), both an indoor and outdoor pool & hot tub, a playground, several grassy areas to take your pup for a walk and to do their business (including baggies & a trash can), and a unique gift shop. All of the employees I encountered were super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We've been staying here for 30 plus years, I am so glad it has maintained its high standards and not given in to "updating". The decor is from the 70s, let's just enjoy it. Rooms are spotless, grounds are gorgeous, the breakfast is generous and delicious. Appreciate all the paintings and murals that were done by the owner years ago! Please don't let anyone "modernize" this place, it's a treasure.

Best Western Plus in Oakhurst is spread out over a park-like property, with indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. The grounds and rooms are well maintained. Rooms are roomy and seem recently refurbished. There is a good restaurant that is popular with locals. An ample breakfast is included. The service team was friendly and helpful. Buildings are located on a somewhat steep hill that might prove challenging to the less fit who are lodged up the hill (although these are the best rooms with a view in my view). Those who don't want to climb the hill can drive up and down.

Great location and full breakfast included. The rooms are seriously dated. Old grainy TVs, smelly and loud air conditioners, tiny fridge with a useless freezer since it was covered in condensation. The pools are amazing. Love the indoor pool option.

Since my arrival I felt that I made the right choice of hotel. The staff is efficient and friendly. The room was clean, fresh and the view was so calming. We got to see in front of our balcony a fawn and her family. The breakfast had a choice for each member of my family. The parking was no problem, there was always an available parking space. The place is PET FRIENDLY ;) perfect!!

My family and I stayed for several days for day trips into Yosemite valley. The drive in wasn't too bad getting into the valley floor, being able to spend as much time as we wanted in the park. The hotel itself was very nice and with very friendly staff. The property landscaping was beautiful. Also, we really appreciated the dog-friendliness of the accommodations! Rooms are not super fancy. but met all our needs and then some - clean room, comfortable beds, and quiet location.

My husband, myself and our 2 daughters along with my Dad stayed at this property in August 2021 on our visit to Yosemite National Park. The hotel is older, but our room was updated with new mattresses and was very clean. We had a room with 3 queen beds and it was perfect for our family of 5. I wish more hotels had this option. The first morning we had the bagged breakfast, but on the second day we were able to eat in the dining room of the restaurant. They had a large assortment of items from eggs to cereal. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly.

The hotel was nicely located near Yosemite and we had a great time staying at the hotel. Due to the COVID, breakfast was packed in a bag to pick up so you can enjoy in your room. Internet was fast and I would for sure go back if we travel to Yosemite again.

A good choice for starting or ending your Yosemite trip. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Overlook the outdated decor because this is a great place to stay. The pool and hot tub helped revive our hike-weary feet. Breakfast was lovely.

Very relaxing / great value. Actuall was checked in to another Large Hotel, and after the first night, being unsatisfied with our experience, we checked in to the Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn, and enjoyed the mountain style Inn very much.

We selected this motel due to its proximity to Yosemite entrance...just 25 minutes away. Multiple two-story buildings are spread out on the complex with both an outdoor pool and an in-door pool...there is also a campfire area. Nice lobby. Guest rooms are worn and dated. We stayed in a Family Suite which worked out very nicely with a separate bedroom. Carpet was stained and room didn't smell the best as the Family Suites with balconies and patios are also the "pet friendly" rooms. I suspect there had been a pet accident. Pet Free suites can be requested, but they are without balcony or patio...we opted to take a chance for a balcony or patio, but would not repeat that choice. Our patio area was overgrown with vegetation that needed trimming. Breakfast was grab and go at nice onsite restaurant. Staff was very cheerful in filling your grab and go box. Didn't appreciate a couple of guests bringing their dogs into restaurant and having dogs barking at each other when trying to get food. There are a couple new hotels up the road which I would opt to stay in next time if back in the area.

From the lobby to the pools to the restaurant to the guest rooms, beautiful decor. Great location about 20 min from yosemite Park entrance. Delicious food menu, free hot breakfast. Indoor and outdoor pools. Gym and laundry on site. Comfortable and clean. Exceeded my expectations. Loved it

We enjoyed our two night stay at the BWP Oakhurst. I was disappointed to learn that they were still providing only Grab ‘N Go breakfasts but was pleasantly surprised by the quality the next day. I did have to drive down and take it back to the room but the quality and gluten-free choices were most appreciated. The only thing that they could do better was deliver breakfast to the room. The facilities and ambiance were top rate. We will certainly stay again when we return to Bass Lake or Yosemite.

Our family (seven of us - four adults and three children) spent four days in Sequoia National Park and then traveled to Yosemite (Oakhurst). We decide to stay at the Best Western Plus due to experience with Best Western, and we were not disappointed. On recommendation from the front desk, we stay in the "cottage" which can sleep nine. The cottage worked great for us. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. The Internet was exceptional and the breakfast, though somewhat limited, was very generous and staff very helpful. Though we did not eat at the restaurant on the property we understood from people in the community it is one of the best restaurants in town. There are many options to stay in Oakhurst, but we HIGHLY recommend you consider the Best Western Plus.

Stayed at best western at Oakhurst. The staff was courteous and breakfast was decent. The room had a nice view. We saw deers and fox from our Patio. Overall a convenient stayover as we had 2 nights reservation inside the lodge . Overall a decent place to stay as it's close to the entrance.

I stayed here several days. The room (201) was comfortable and the staff was very helpful. In particular Kenny (Security) and Keith (Housekeeping). There were some minor annoyances that I mostly attribute to the Covid pandemic and short staffing. The room was a bit crowded for one person (It must be more so for two. Perhaps one less chair.), the TV reception had snow on 1/2 the channels, the shower curtain needed replacing, and the balcony furniture could have used a good dusting. Overall a good experience.

The room was clean and comfortable. The property pretty and well kept. We enjoyed the pools. The breakfast was very nice. The property is terraced, with buildings on 3 hilly levels. We asked for a nice view were on the upper level with a nice balcony and view of trees and landscaped lawns. Good value.

They allow pets but their pet policy is that they cannot be left unattended. This defeats the purpose of a pet friendly hotel. I booked this hotel because they advertise they allow pets but if I can't leave them in the room, even kenneled, then why are you charging me a pet deposit and why can't I leave the pet alone for even a few minutes? Would not recommend if you are traveling with a pet.

Overall great experience. Room was spacious and exceptionally clean. Front staff was very friendly and welcoming. The price we paid was less than I would have expected to pay for a hotel of this quality.. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel rooms are scattered throughout the property with alot of trees. My room had a mural painted on the wall so beautiful. I loved the shared balcony. Nice pool with plenty of towels. The restaurant on site cooked the breakfast, good. The staff at the front desk so friendly made me feel so welcome. Great stay. Will stay again if in the area.

Stayed because of a mandatory evacuation for wildfire. Grounds are lovely. Room is average. It was a handicapped accessible room, with bathroom large enough for mobility scooter to move around easily but was unable to get a shower chair for 2 days. I was told there were only 2 of them on the entire property which is ridiculous. Each handicapped room should have one. Lounge chairs are extremely uncomfortable; seat back lays back too far and there is no lumbar support. Housekeeping did not clean my room the entire time I was there and I only received clean towels and soap, shampoo when I caught them cleaning a nearby room and requested them. They were helpful when I was loading my car to leave and they loaded my oxygen machine and my scooter without being asked. All the staff were friendly.

This hotel feels like a little resort that gives you more than expected. Beyond location, location, location. this place is so nicely planned out amidst the trees. All of the staff were professional, polite and very helpful. It is clear that commitment to quality and excellent customer service is not a new concept to the folks at this hotel. The owners still care about this beautiful place personally -- not just in a corporate sort of way -- and it shows.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and took advantage of its central location to see the park, bass lake and ride a UTV. Plenty to keep one occupied here. The outside pool was an AMAZING addition after long hot days in the sun.

This hotel has a beautiful, cozy and welcoming lobby . Staff were very helpful in instructing us on maneuvering around Yosemite. Yosemite south entrance about a 20 minute drive. Room was clean, private and quiet. The restaurant staff were very friendly and the food was fresh. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with friendly people. We would definitely return.

Highly recommend. The staff were truly welcoming and the location is great. You have what you need close by and there are several great places to travel to within an easy drive. Plus this hotel looks like it belongs here, not like the stale block hotels nearby.

We are a family of 5 that took a trip to Yosemite. The staff and room were great. We originally needed to book 2 rooms since we are 5 people, but then I was advised that they have rooms that accommodate up to 6 (3 queen beds) which cost about $15 more than the room that accommodated 4. Well worth it and the bigger room was great. Actually it had a separate area for 1 bed, then the bathroom, fridge, another sink, counter space and cabinets, then the room area with 2 queen beds, then a door to a balcony area that had 2 chairs and a table. It overlooked natural space that had at least 1 deer visiting every morning and evening. The beds and breakfast (still set up as take out, but serving hot food as well as an abundant choice of cereals, etc) were good. The town of Oakhurst was easy to get around. We went to the supermarket to buy food to take with us to the park, as well as a $3.50 styrofoam cooler that we filled with ice from the hotel. The entrance to the park is about 20 minutes away, and getting to the areas we wanted to go took over 1 hour more on the winding, frightening road. I mention this because we left the park from the northwest exit (Road 140??) which added 25 minutes to Oakhurst, and there are hotels there that would make the trip to Yosemite shorter. But I'm not sure if the town would have the accommodations to make the trip better. We also used the laundry which was adequate and my kids used the pool. All in all, we had no complaints and were more than satisfied.

private, quiet, excellent get away from the city. really like the peaceful setting in the hillside. despite covid precautions it felt overall safe and secure. modified hot breakfast buffett was excellent with fairly healthy choices. we will be back!

This hotel is highly recommended. It has indoor & out door pool & jacuzzi which is a big plus. Beautiful landscapes. Don't believe others hotels have the same to offer. The town trolley stops in front of the hotel.

Staff was very courteous and friendly. Rooms were clean, large and even had ceiling fans. Everything was in working order. Our grandkids loved the indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. The grounds were lushly planted and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety plus fresh fruit. We enjoyed a picnic area with tables and a playground each morning while eating our breakfast. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer than two days!

The town of Oakhurst was surprisingly quaint & perfect for our family. We rode the trolley, ate ice cream, visited the talking bear & had a good experience! The BW was by far our best hotel experience on our 8 night vaca! It's location in the wood was great, loved the pool and the restaurant was really nice!

This Best Western is a great place to stay while visiting Yosemite. Our room was clean and comfortable. Would prefer a walk-in shower, but that's just me. Definitely go to the restaurant for dinner. We ate there three times and enjoyed each meal. Portions are large so sharing is a good idea. The restaurant staff are excellent.

I highly recommend staying here. It has beautiful grounds, very comfy beds/rooms, the restaurant next door was amazing AND it is very close to Yosemite. I will definitely be staying here again and I will recommend this location to my friends and family as they plan their vacations to Yosemite.

My parents and I stayed in a suite with 3 queen beds. Nice sized rooms and plenty of vanity space for 3 adults. Rooms are clean but a little worn; not old but not newly remodeled either. We had a nice balcony overlooking grounds with deer one morning. Nice amenities; pools, hot tub, large fitness center and a tasty restaurant adjacent!

Great feeling here. Great staff. Wonderful environment. close to entry of Yosemite. Near Bass Lake. Beautiful lobby. Balconies surrounded by nature. My friend and I really enjoyed our three night stay and our time in Yosemite.

We stayed at this hotel for 15 nights while our home was undergoing remodeling, not the best idea during a pandemic but we started last year. The extended stay gave us ample opportunity to get used to the hotel and what it has to offer. The grounds are nice and despite it being located on the main street of Oakhurst it was usually quiet. It is convenient to many places in the town. The pandemic has disrupted most of the restaurants, but that is California-wide and understandable The front office folks were awesome. They were all cheerful, helpful, accommodating, and very good at what they did. Our room was quiet and had minimal upstairs noise. Overall, for the 25 nights, it worked perfectly for us. There is laundry on-site but we did not need it since our home still had that available. We did not visit the restaurant next door, but have in the past and it was good.

The grounds which are surrounded by trees flowers, bushes, birds and squirrels makes this place so peaceful! The staff and the food are all way above average. We travel a lot and this is our favorite hotel. You can tell the management treats their staff very well, We interfaced with grounds people, desk, restaurant, and cleaning staff - ALL fantastic! All are so friendly and go out of their way to help. The restaurant is 5 star! You kind of feel like family!

After flying into Fresno, CA, we stayed at this hotel in Oakhurst before going on to Yosemite. It was so nice. The rooms are positioned in small units on the hill of the property. This provides excellent views and a cozy feel. The room was comfortable and had a little patio/balcony that was so nice. We ate at the attached restaurant - Oakhurst Grill. It was excellent. The food was high quality and menu interesting yet had some traditional offerings as well. I would recommend staying here and plan to visit again.

The room was clean and spacious. The grounds are exceptionally beautiful and the pool was well kept, warm and inviting. It was so peaceful and relaxing just to walk around and was more like a resort experience than a hotel stay.

The check-in receptionist is great, but the staff helping to choose the breakfast items is not friendly at all. It is like “what do you want” and assuming both guests want to have same items. Not very professional gesture.

The layout of the property in itself grants a 5 star rating! Lush greenery everywhere! The cabin & lodge type architecture gives off the warmth of being in the mountains! The place is well maintained, clean and ever so inviting. Our room was perfect. Nicely appointed bath facilities and a beautiful painting not hanging on the wall, but painted on to it! Friendly staff and not too long a drive to Yosemite from here. A very great place to stay!

We love staying at Best Western Oakhurst Ca. The atmosphere, the people, and Yosemite! The art on the walls show a real talented artist. Everyone is always so nice. Still waiting for the jacuzzi to be opened. (Stupid Covid). We'll be back!

It was good. The rooms are very spacious and the hotel restaurant/bar were great! Staff is very friendly for the most part. Finding the pools is annoying and very hard to do but once you find it you're good. I did finally take a shower on my trip and afterward the tub never drained. It was really gross and I couldn't get the water to go down. The water sat there for an entire day and I couldn't take another shower. It was only a day until I left so. There were a couple spider webs in the room however they were only visible in certain light/angles so they were easy to miss. Overall it's very worth its price.

When we checked it we were really disappointed to see how outdated the rooms are for the price we paid. There was blood on the door frame in the bathroom, short hair on the shower wall, and a glob of hair stuck in the drain. When I moved the curtain I found a piece of some type of green vegetable sitting on top of the outlet where the ac unit was plugged into. I did show pictures to the front desk and all they offered was a $25 credit. It's disappointing that the Inspector/Supervisor missed those things. First impression is everything. The walls are very thin, you can hear everything from your neighbors. I was rudely woken by loud talking from my neighbors and slamming of doors around 7am both mornings. Not a good choice if you actually want to get some sleep.

Great location for exploring Yosemite. The hotel and grounds is beautiful, some have kitchens, and the town has many food options. There are a couple of grocery stores as well. The drive into the park took about half an hour.

Visiting Yosemite from out of town. This place is a great location to the park and is about 30 minutes from the entrance, and about 1 hour from Tunnel View. This BW property was very clean with a CDC friendly breakfast and check-in experience which we appreciated. The pandemic- related modifications to the breakfast means it will be a bit light, but the hotel is conveniently next to a McDonald's and Denny's so you and your party can still get your fuel before going back into the park. The staff are quick and courteous, especially Chelsea, who was very patient with us from out of town. They have Yosemite-related swag for purchase in case you didn't find what you were looking for inside the park. For the proximity, cleanliness, price, and service, I thoroughly recommend this property.

My family and I decided to stay at the this Best Western location while visiting Yosemite, Our receptionist was Tracie and I can't explain enough how professional and amazing she was!!! I would come back and stay just for the hospitality that she showed my family.

The best place to stay, if you're going to Yosemite. It's took us a little over an hour to get to Yosemite Valley from the hotel. We stayed in the Suite with 3 Queen Beds. The room was clean and had everything we needed.

I loved the views and the location of this property. It's absolutely beautiful and a great choice for a first time visitor to Yosemite. The plumbing is noisy, but earplugs exist. One thing I didn't care for was how BRIGHT the property is at night. You can't turn off balcony lights and there is so much exterior lighting that when I woke up at midnight because someone flushed a toilet - I thought it was morning at first. I personally didn't sleep well but I don't sleep well the first night of any stay and I had to end my trip early. The restaurant looked great but I didn't eat there. The staff was WONDERFUL and accommodating. I had to end my trip suddenly and they were very kind and helped get me on the road quickly. I would probably stay here again when visiting the area because the views are brilliant and the ambiance is wonderful.

We are confident in the COVID cleaning and that is core. The rooms are nice and have very good amenities. This particular stay had a room with a noisy heater and the grab-and-go breakfast did not compare to well to the two prior trips. Overall a very good experience though.

This hotel has the most accommodating staff that I've ever encountered. They are friendly and helpful and go above and beyond. The grab and go breakfast was way better than average. There is also a restaurant connected to the hotel that is rated one of the best restaurants in that town! First hand, I can tell you it was delicious!! I recommend you come here for a family like experience! Their property is huge and parking is right next to the rooms, which makes it convenient. 41 min away from Yosemite for us.

Hotel was very nice. Designed to fit in the area quite well and does not look like an eyesore. Very spacious grounds, and the hotel staff were very welcoming. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Yosemite.

Property is very nice. Balcony is a plus. Murals in the art are inspiring. A lot of places to walk your dog throughout the property! Restaurant next door had great dinner and friendly staff just as the hotel does.

I was very pleased with my stay at this Best Western. It was my favorite Best Western I have stayed at. They gave us a paper bag of fresh fruit, muffins, and granola bars for breakfast. The landscaping outside provides multiple tables and chairs with shade to relax and eat. I love the little outdoor patios outside of each room. Very home-y. I would stay here again!

The room was very spacious and everything was clean. There was a cute balcony at the back of the room overlooking a wooded area. Due to covid, there was only a grab-and-go breakfast. Our room was in the back of the property, so it was nice and quiet. My only complaint is that the heater was extremely noisy and we had to turn up the volume of the TV in order to hear it. They gave a nice discount to us as a Best Western Rewards member.

They have over 8 acres of land. Got a little backyard/balcony. Saw lots and lots of nature here. The sunset was to die for . You can see the best sunset right outside your room above the beautiful mountains. Definitely recommend it !!

Beautiful location, pet friendly, excellent staff. Very personable, not a sterile corporate location. Oakhurst is a beautiful place on the way to Yosemite, and this was a quiet, restful place to spend a couple of nights.

This Best Western offers so much more than any new hotel going up in Oakhurst. This hotel feels more like a retreat than anything else, the open fields and hills offer a better experience in my opinion. When the free breakfast is included with your stay, it will surpass any hotel experience with breakfast most have had. The price is right for a clean and comfortable stay this hotel has to offer.

My husband and I just needed to get away, and this place was perfect. We had a nice view, staff were very friendly, and even let us check-in a little early. Restaurant food was excellent. We plan on staying here again soon!

My husband and I are platinum member of BW. This place exceeded our expectation. The set up is really nice. Their indoor pool is pretty amazing. The paintings in the room are made specially by the owner. The gardens are breathtaking. Rooms are pretty clean and set up is just perfect for people who love nature. We will definitely be back again.

First of all who love Oakhurst California so beautiful and serene we have stayed at this Best Western 2 times prior and always had a nice quiet evening no complaint at all it's beautiful well-maintained with friendly employees very happy thank you

Place is pretty and decent. Very close to Yosemite. But too much noise in the mornings. We herd Guest throwing their luggage, running, even having loud conversations by our room. The bed was really uncomfortable to sleep. The first night didn't sleep at all.

This Best Western is what you can expect for a best western, it is also very good if you bring pet along with, there are lots of outdoor space for pets During COVID-19, there is no room service unless it is requested and I am ok with that We left in the morning to Yosemite park and I specifically put the do not disturb tag on because I don't want anyone to go in, given the room service won't go in anyway, I just want to double making sure. When we came back, our room was locked by the bolt lock, I asked the hotel if someone just went to my room and locked it? The hotel told me if I shut the door to hard, the bolt lock may lock it by accident. I thought this answer is ridiculous, besides I didn't shut the door hard, I close the door very gently, This is extremely bothersome when I don't want any service personnel to my room during COVID-19 Last but not the least, my carpet is very dated and dirty

No power due to power shutdown by PGE power company due to Creek Fire. We were told about power shutdown, but not told that water is pumped into the roos due to property being on a hillside. No lights, no candles, no breakfast, no running water, dark room, no discount of any type offered. Room was fine, but not usable without power or water. I booked 5 nights but only stayed 1 night for $170. I felt ripped off and stayed at the Chukchansi hotel and casino a few miles away. I won't be coming back here, unfortunately.

There was a power shutoff due creek fire. We were advised about no power, but never advised that there would not be any water. Property is on a hillside as water is pumped into rooms due to gravity and pumps are powered by electricity. No flashlights, candles, etc. No breakfast was offered. No discount. Nice property, but nothing was done for us except pay the bill but no lights or water. I paid $170 for 1 night and felt i got ripped off. I checked out after 1 night and went to Chukchansi Indian casino and hotel down the road. They had power.

If you stay here you will experience an Arboretum (so many different amazing trees and plants). You will experience real artwork in each room. The rooms are like being at home. A stay here is an experience, not just a place to sleep.

Great location, close to the Yosemite entrance. Lori, at the front desk, is awesome!! Lori went above and beyond to ensure we had a wheelchair accessible room that was able to accommodate our family. Very much appreciated! The room was clean and all the staff was friendly.

This is what we found in the shower when we arrived! Called front desk “housekeeping was gone for the day” sorry. Promised next day. We came back at 5 pm. Nothing at all was done. Even the bed. No towels were changed! I'm so mad! At the premium price of 250 per night, I'd run far away from this place

First time at this hotel came over for Labor Day weekend the front office lady very pleasant, polite, and friendly. Check in was extremely easy we were able to upgrade to a room with a balcony our room was nice and clean although we did bring a spray of Lysol just a little extra protection during this pandemic time. staff very friendly staff all wearing masks however the majority of guests were not wearing masks. due to the pandemic we received a breakfast bag for breakfast which was fine and understandable we enjoyed our stay at the hotel we would return again the grounds are beautiful.

I have stayed here before and always thought it was a bit dated but worth the price gouging due to its nice setting and proximity to Yosemite. This time I'm over it. Though they offer a page of supposed steps they have taken to insure safety from Covid-19, we observed numerous staff without face masks, the bathroom in our room had substandard cleaning (even when it isn't a pandemic), bathroom sink was stopped up, the air conditioner compressor roared all night and the ceiling fan was caked with dirt and had obviously never been dusted. The rooms are large and the setting is stellar. Check in staff were friendly and sympathetic to my complaints, but the stay was disappointing for the money. Probably still worth it for families with kids who want the use of swimming pools and places for kids to roam, but it is off of my list for good.

Really nice people working here, from the front office to the security people to housekeeping. Everything was done in a guest-positive way to maintain covid safety while not sacrificing the experience of staying. I've never been in a hotel so dog friendly. Truly. The interiors are a bit dated but very clean and totally fine. It actually felt about right style-wise given we were there for a four day Yosemite visit. Handy to the park, lots of little restaurants within a block or two, just everything we wanted or needed. Highly recommend.

Stayed here at the best Western in Yosemite In Oakhurst. It is supposed to be a best Western plus. Carpet 30 years old with odor to it. Furniture ancient as well. They actually replaced our towels with one with urine stains on it which we had to report to the front desk. Will never stay here again. Paid $240 a night to stay in this filthy hovel

Staying here during a project working on in Yosemite. Facility is set up nice. Staff is top notch. Andrea at the front desk makes check in a breeze very nice very polite and super helpful. Takes only minutes and your done. Great place to stay if going to Yosemite short drive to the park.

I like this resort style Best Western, it probably has the best landscaping among all other Best Western hotels I ever stayed at. Room is big and quiet, dog friendly, ideal for Yosemite close by access. the house keeping can be better, as I can still see previous guest left items on carpet, understand due to Covid 19 the breakfast becomes grab & go, just think it it too plain, can include more items like milk/yogurt/egg.

This hotel is super clean, nicely landscaped, While pricey for a fancy motel (all rooms are accessed via outdoor walkways), it's the nicest outside Yosemite for the price point. It's on 8 acres, with grass and mature trees. Hotel is doing extra cleaning and precautions due to Covid19. Staff was wearing masks. They will not come in to clean your room unless you request it, however they will give you fresh towels, toiletries upon request. We had a spacious room with 2 queen beds, bar area, and a balcony with chairs and table where we could eat our breakfast and takeout dinner; there is also a grassy area with a picnic table and barbecue. Really good AC, which you need in August, or leave balcony doors open. Room had ceiling fan too. Two nice pools....the outdoor pool was clean and refreshing, towels supplied at pool. Jacuzzi is closed. Breakfast is grab and go, pretty minimal. But room has fridge and microwave, extra sink so you can prepare breakfast or snacks in your room. (And there is a Raley's and Vons down the road). This is helpful during a pandemic when restaurant options are limited. A few Oakhurst, Mariposa and Bass Lake restaurants offer outdoor dining. We ordered take out and dined at the hotel. Allow over 1.5 hours to Yosemite Valley via 41: road is very windy after Wawona, with scary drop offs, however you are hugging the mountain. We suggest exiting via Highway 140, which is longer distance wise, but a straighter road and takes only 10 minutes more. Bass Lake is only 8 minutes away! Lots to do on the water there. We would stay at this property again!

Stayed here with family for 4 nights to spend time at Bass Lake and Yosemite. Hotel was nice and clean, staff doing their best during COVID times. Great that their pool stayed open late for the kids, was so thankful for that. Nice little picnic area with a charcoal grill. The only thing I had an issue was this. So we got a family suite that cost upwards of over $200 a night, ok not a problem, but what I DO have a problem is, if this was normal times and not COVID your cost your paying includes a FULL breakfast, so during COVID when all your getting is a "to go" breakfast which is a water - granola bar, an apple and that's pretty much it, the cost per night should definitely be cheaper. And honestly I think they could have bumped up that "to go" option to be better. When there is literally only one restaurant in that entire town you can go have a real breakfast served to you outside (Rev's Farmhouse - fantastic BTW) I feel they can set up a COVID friendly situation for giving guests a better breakfast. Also there was no problem requesting to have your room cleaned or fresh towels, all you had to do was call front desk and make a request, thankful for that with a family of 4 in a room for multiple days.

We went to Yosemite National Park and stayed here for one of the nights on August 1st. We stayed here many years ago and recently read a lot about their cleaning practices on line so decided to try it again. We arrived and the check in was uneventful with a very friendly front office staff. We stayed in room #322 and soon noticed after being in the room for a bit that it had not been vacuumed. Next, we noticed a toe or fingernail on the desk and later discovered hair in several places (carpet, bathroom and in the shower). There were dirty napkins with either lipstick or blood found in the drawer of the desk. After seeing the overall cleanliness of the room, it made us think and have serious doubts that the additional Covid-19 cleaning practices told about online were actually being exercised. Fortunately, we brought disinfecting wipes and wiped down every touchable surface in the room when we arrived. With a AAA rate of $240 including taxes and fees, we had a double queen room that was very spacious and comfortable. The rooms were very large but somewhat dated. See attached photos. There didn't seem to be a lot of insulation between the floors as we were kept awake until after mid-night by a running child and lack of concern by the folks above us making lots of noise. The beds were comfortable and each had 3 large pillows that were nice. The wi-fi was very good too at around 18 Mbps. The air-conditioning worked fine once we figured out how to set the temperature. The digital numbers were not working on the thermostat and most in the 70-degree range could not be read. We scrolled down to the 60's to find a setting that could be read and then clicked the desired room temperature switch back up until we were around 74 degrees and then left it alone. The shower worked well but the wall mounted push button conditioner dispenser bottle was empty. The soap and shampoo bottles were fine. There was plenty of parking and 2 ice machines in very close proximity to our room. They provided us with to-go breakfasts which were nice. They came with your choice of different items (fruit, granola bars, muffins etc.) and bottled water. Coffee was also available in the lobby as well. When I picked up breakfast at the front desk I was asked about our stay. I politely explained the issues regarding the room cleanliness. They offered me the option of some additional points (not sure how much) or a non-disclosed room credit. I opted for the credit. I received an updated statement by the time I arrived back at the room and saw that my statement had been credited $25. Last but not least, we read on-line that they were trying to leave rooms vacant in between each guest. This to me means a certain percentage of rooms would be left unoccupied each night. When we arrived, we asked for a room that had not been occupied for the longest length of time. I was told that there were no recently vacated rooms available and were 100% sold out on Saturday, August 1. This means they have NOT been keeping a percentage of rooms unoccupied / vacant and are falsely stating they are. We do not recommend this place and will not come back. The $25 credit was an insult. Sorry to be harsh in these tough times but this is what happened to us and we don't think it was appropriate.

Rustic charm, clean, comfortable, friendly staff, large grounds to walk around and explore, two pools, cute park, nice restaurant, and close to Bass Lake and Yosemite. We left our camera behind on accident and quickly received a phone call to tell us. That says something about the staff. The only thing was no continental breakfast, and the jacuzzi was closed due to covid. Other than that its a winner!

Lori at the front desk made this stay perfect! It started with a call to the hotel answered by Lori. We had some special needs for parking an RV. Not only did she accommodate us, but she was enjoyable and acted as if she appreciated the opportunity to help. Those qualities are becoming rare these days and you should know we loved being treated that way by Lori and other members of her team during stay.

My family stayed here for 4 nights while we visited Yosemite. Yes, it's about a 90 minute drive to the valley each day, but staying in Oakhurst gave us the comforts of home including restaurants and grocery stores. (I highly recommend South Gate Brewing...great food and beer!) The hotel staff was very friendly and the pools were great for the kids! One evening while sitting on our balcony a deer walked by!! For us city folks, this was quite the treat!

To start with, the hotel is located conveniently in Oakhurst, a quick drive to the south gate of Yosemite. When we checked in, the staff was pleasant and fun and provided great information on the experience we should have, the reduced cleaning program due to staffing and the specific COVID cleaning. Those are the upsides. The hotel itself is old and appears to only have external access, not something that we noted when booking. Once we entered our room, we noted an odor, of old smoke and years of cleaning products. The room had bright LED lighting that was not really conducive to a chill evening. The first morning, we noted a smell of mildew coming from the bathroom. After investigation, it was clear the the shower curtain was old, cleaned, but still had mildew on it. The external door was not sealed well - we could see the bright lights of the external lights around the door all night. This would be something I would expect should be corrected. The internet was relatively slow in the rooms. The TV was newer but the cable was poor and the channels were all fuzzy - though I assumed that was due to being in the mountains. Overall, the hotel was severely overpriced for the experience that we had. With a new HI Express open and two new hotels (Hampton Inn & Fairfield) opening soon down the street, this hotel needs to step up its game.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel grounds are beautiful. I liked that there is an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. The room decor was clean and updated. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Due to Covid there was no hot breakfast, but there was a grab and go option with your selection of fruit and granola bar or muffin. There was also a coffee stand in the lobby. Oakhurst is a cute town and close to the entrance of Yosemite that takes you to tunnel view and the valley floor.

The room had mold on the ceiling and a strong mildew smell. Customer service at the front desk was rude when I requested a change of room even though they clearly had MANY rooms available and I was even willing to downgrade my room.

I've been staying here for many years, whenever I happen to be passing through or need a place to rest and refresh in between bouts of camping. It's always been great and I will continue to come back.

I loved this hotel, looks like a lodge, built up a hill, super cute. We were traveling with kids, we reserved a 2 bedroom suite. The kids had their own room, TV, and a balcony, they were over the moon. Some areas were dated, but it kind of vibed with the area and our room was very clean. Indoor/outdoor pool we were to tired to enjoy. Would stay again.

This place is absolutely beautiful, staff and everyone there is really nice and helpful. I will deffently be going back for another trip. Everything worked out perfect,, can't wait for the next trip! :)

This is a beautiful property and our second time staying here. Love everything about this place. Be aware that traveling during this time most things are closed. They will let you know this when you schedule. They are doing a great job with social distancing. Only disappointment this time was the bed. It was horribly uncomfortable, like sleeping on rocks.

This by far was the biggest Best Western I have seen. This Best Western is on 8 acres in Oakhurst. By far the largest Best Western I have stayed in. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 not much was open but that was not the fault of Best Western. We will for sure be back once things open up.

It was fantastic, great people. The lady that we checked in with had a bit of an attitude, but over all great .... the suit was amazing , and very clean , looked brand new ..... also the TV remotes for both TVs didnt seem to work right but there was buttons on the side of the TVs we used ,other than that fantastic except the road construction at 6 am

Located right near EVERYTHING! Stores, restaurants, gas all within walking distance. Beautiful walk around the property. The room was very nice and clean. Amenities in the shower were cool. The room service Food tasted okay.

Had a wonderful relaxing time. Great breakfast provided all the energy I need for my trips into Yosemite. Good location with plenty of parking. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit the park.

This hotel was even better than imagined. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The entire hotel is very clean and well maintained. The room was really clean and perfect in every way. We had the 3 queen with sofa type of room and it was so spacious and beautiful. As older folks, we wanted a place with back support to sit and visit in the evening, so we opted for the 3 queens with the sofa. The buffet breakfast was great - better than any we have ever experienced. Every bite of food was amazing, the fresh fruit was fresh and sweet, and everything was kept clean and fully stocked every day.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while visiting Yosemite. Amy and trainee staff were very helpful upon check-in. Our room was number 325, next to the indoor pool and spa. It is true the property is dated. We found our room to be quiet and clean. The good stuff: 1. When we originally booked, we accidentally used a third party site that over-charged us. I called the hotel directly and spoke to Amy who gave me suggestions on how to fix this. Her suggestions helped me to reverse the third-party reservation based on fraud that resulted in a full refund. I then called her back and booked directly. She gave a discount for the hassle and upgraded our room. Upon arrival, she remembered our phone call and booking and was very friendly and helpful with the check-in process. She went above and beyond for our needs. 2. The room was spacious and clean. 3. TV worked well. 4. Plenty of hot water for a shower. 5. Kitchenette with sink, fridge and microwave was useful. 6. better than average breakfast buffet in the restaurant. Breakfast staff helpful and friendly too. Not so good stuff: 1. Mattresses are worn out and need to be replaced. We could feel the springs through the padding. 2. Fridge ran all night. It never stopped. I had to use ear plugs and still heard the darn thing. 3. South gate to Yosemite is 15 miles. Yosemite valley is 1 hour and 45 minute drive. Be prepared. Overall, we had a nice visit and would stay here again if the beds were replaced with new ones.

This one will be all pros, no cons -Amy and Crystal very helpful and detailed, making for easy check in. Since very few customers staying the Tuesday I arrived, they upgraded me at no extra cost to me. Also later helped me find my lost cellphone! -I travel with my Golden Retriever Katy. Lots of motels that are “pet friendly “ seem to forget that dogs need a large grassy area to go potty. This motel has grassy areas with poop bags and trash cans throughout the property. So Katy shares my glowing review! -bbqs and picnic tables on property; also a structure for kids to play on. -Went for breakfast today. Scrambled eggs offered. As usual, I found there was dairy in the offered eggs. I was reluctantly ready to have cold cereal when server Ricardo saw me looking sadly at the eggs I couldn't have. I told him I'm allergic to dairy. He offered to make me eggs without dairy. No cereal, hello real breakfast! -Room clean. -Able to park right in front of my unit. You always look for customer service, but rarely find it. Here you will.

We booked double-queen room for one night (check in: 2/21, check out: 2/22). The room is clean & nice sized with ample space. The breakfast and the bar are the highlights: 1. Bar: Very cozy and comfortable bar with friendly staff and various drinks. They can even customize something for you even it was not in the menu (I ordered Irish coffee which was not in the menu). Drinking here you don't have to worry about driving, just enjoy! 2. Breakfast buffet: very nice and a lot of choices, good to prepare your energies for your national park activities. We had very good time in this hotel until we left the hotel - I forgot to take my North Face jacket and a bag of food. I found this when we reached Yosemite (because it was so cold) and called the hotel to see if the cleaning staff has returned them to lost & found, however the front desk was buying checking in and asked us to call back in few hours. I did so around 7 pm, and the front desk replied they did not find anything and asked us to follow up again the next day. We checked again in person when we drove home, but nothing was found still. The only thing I can do is to leave my contact information and hope to get the good news someday.

Honestly, we were a little leery with the 2-Star hotel rating we saw, but am so glad we stayed here. The rooms were large and roomy, and even included a small kitchenette. My husband was concerned about traffic noise, and we were both surprised that all we heard all night was one car. The breakfast was nice; most importantly with lots of seating available. This was another very pleasant surprise since there were seven of us total and we were able to sit together. This hotel has lots of room choices. We went with two king beds in each of the three rooms we reserved. All three rooms were very spacious and had more than enough room for our entire group. We really liked that the hotel was able to place all three rooms next to each other also, as were were in and out of each others rooms often. Yes, I would definitely recommend this hotel; it is the best hotel I have stayed at in quite a while with the large rooms and all of the accommodations.

We took our grandsons to Yosemite for their winter break. The two-bedroom suite was ideal. The boys loved the breakfast waffles and the indoor pool The staff was friendly and helpful and we had a great time.

My wife and I stayed here for a two night stay as part of our California holiday. The hotel bedroom was very clean and comfortable with very friendly staff throughout the hotel. We used the bar and restaurant onsite on both evenings for dinner where we served first rate food from a varied menu. The bar has a great selection of whisky and a good selection of beer. Would definitely stay here again.....

Cute hillside hotel with nice architecture, not unlike other hotels that are boxlike looking. Onsite lots of artwork inside and outside wood carvings of a Statue of Liberty and squirrel (up on hillside to your left!) Extremely well kept hotel with charm, rooms are nice sized with ample space. Indoor swimming pool was a plus, the kids enjoyed. Breakfast was excellent as well.

This hotel has great ambiance! The grounds are lush and beautiful. This is gold country and not the big city. We loved our room it was clean newly remolded and not "dog friendly". No offense, but I have dogs and we do not travel with them. I don't want to travel with others. They offer a great room that is fresh and doesn't smell like a wet dog. However, they do have rooms for dog only families. I live this. It was very quiet. They have a really nice indoor pool and jacuzzi. The restaurant was attached to the hotel. The service was great and the staff very friendly. They also have a huge breakfast buffet. Enjoy! We sure did.

We stayed here a few years ago and hoped we were choosing the right place this time. This is a lovely hillside rustic looking place that was hand crafted by its owner and his wife. If you have looked at photos of rooms and lounges and assumed reality couldn't be that good, this is the opposite. From the handcrafted beauty of Gilbert's construction to the artwork and murals of Dolores, it must be experienced to be believed. Water features, pools and hot pools both inside and outside in the forest. I need to find out who carved Lady Liberty and the Squirrel. The best breakfast buffet you can imagine and dinner was excellent too. There are several big new construction motel chains going in just up the road. Don't go there unless you have no chance of visiting Lady Liberty and her Squirrels.

Magical location and atmosphere. Multiple buildings across several acres. Clean, friendly. Deer outside our window in the morning. Everything was wonderful, except the comfort of the beds which just did not suit our backs. We will return.

This Best Western has got to be the most beautiful property they have. This place is not a cookie cut property like many other chains. The staff there from the front desk, maintenance, cleaning, and security are the best! Very friendly and helpful, plus the hotel has a great restaurant, do not miss it.

The room was large and the queen size beds were very comfortable. The woodsy atmosphere was fun as we stayed at the way back, top of the property. Love that they had indoor pool and spas. The breakfast buffet was superb and had so many options! Will definitely stay here again in the future.

This is a great place as a “base camp” for Yosemite. About 75 minutes to the valley (off season) and for variety there's a nice drive via Mariposa to another entrance. Rooms are big and well appointed. Lots of amenities. Restaurant could use a make over (see separate review). Hotel staff friendly and fun. Good location to town shops and restaurants. A good Chinese restaurant next door. Recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay, rooms were nice and large and clean. Hand painted mural in the room was beautiful. Restaurant was very nice, breakfast was hot and nice variety. Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Yosemite!!! If you have accessibility issues they are on a hill but do have nice parking available to get to your rooms.

We stayed here on a weekend trip to Yosemite. Its about an hour and 15 mins outside of the park. Staff was super friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was included and was surprisingly delicious. No problems during our stay, will be staying here again.

Do NOT stay on room 117. It smells like feet ans locker room. Its not the bedding or towels, its the room in gerenal. I didnt report this to the staff because it was made extremely clear to me and two other guests checking in, that the hotel was sold out. Checking agents have no patience, all they want to do it get you out of their lobby as soon as possible.

This hotel is amazing! Breakfast is excellent! Room is very big, bed is very big, and bathroom is also very big! It's a great place to stay. My kids also like this hotel so much. We spent out Christmas eve at this hotel, before we headed to Yosemite!

The staff is super friendly, willing to go out of their way to be helpful without being phony. Room was very clean and well maintained. Lots of counter space in the bathroom which I loved. The grounds are very well kept and inviting.

With new hotels coming into Oakhurst, you are about to have more options. I would suggest giving this established hotel a try. I came in with low expectations. The front desk staff was great, warm, friendly and helpful with questions. Nice little gift shop and check-in area. Plenty of free coffee in the room and front desk. Morning breakfast was great. Full hot buffet with plenty of seating. Didn't try the restaurant for dinner, but it was probably good too. Would suggest a second floor for better hillside views. Indoor heated pool and spa didn't seem to be busy. Rooms could use some updating, but typical for this type of hotel.

This was my first Yosemite trip with my family, and it was beautiful. We stayed at Best Western Plus Yosemite and it was very clean (alot nicer than one in Hawaii this past summer), lots of amenities included, which we loved & the free bfast included was the best part, their bfast was delicious!

We stayed in a room with 3 queen beds and a balcony that overlooked the playground area. We used the indoor pool/hot tub twice, ate the amazing free bfast, and enjoyed the free internet. Perfect location! Great price! Lobby is beautiful w/fireplace and grand piano.

Our stay was comfortable just like home. Clean room, clean facilities. Wifi speed not bad. Good FREE breakfast and very organized. The staff are cleaning eating tables round the clock for the next guest. I'd recommend BW to family and friends.

It's a great option to stay and go to Yosemite Valley, good service, clean and comfortable, I just would like if they have safe box service in rooms. The views are great, they have enough parking and the breakfast was included. The pool was small but nice

This quaint, well-maintained property is snuggled in amongst beautiful, lush naturalized landscaping. The pride of the owners and staff make it a standout property. Located about 30 minutes from a Yosemite entrance, it has clean, comfortable, spacious rooms and very friendly, helpful staff. An expanded hot breakfast is included in the price. We enjoyed having breakfast next to the wood burning fire in the onsite restaurant. My family plans to stay here on our next visit to Yosemite.

This was a nice hotel near the entrance to Yosemite National Park. It has an attached restaurant but it is pricey. The property has many buildings of rooms so be sure to have the front desk draw you a map to your room. Breakfast is included and is in the restaurant. They have a buffet with a lot of choices but the eggs were cold and the potatoes were very spicy.

Nice people working. Love the little restaurant/bar. Sitting by fire with a drink is so cozy. They have good food-pretzel, hot wings, burger, french dip. Love the morning breakfast, really good variety. Hot tub outside is awesome. Beautiful area. Nice rooms.

Our stay at Best Western Plus was very pleasant! Excellent staff, from the front desk, to housekeeping, to food service, to pool staff, everyone there was so friendly and professional! Starting from Amy at the front desk made us feel welcomed and informed us about all of the hotel amenities, easy and fast check in. Special thanks to staff member Lori, she was decorating the Christmas tree and asked my son if he wanted to help and he loved helping! Thank you Lori!! Breakfast was excellent! Lots of options, clean and plenty of space! We enjoyed the indoor pool! We went on a Monday morning and there were no towels, but we asked a staff member that was checking the pool, and he was kind enough to bring us towels! Our room was huge and clean and it was very helpful to have a fridge, microwave & sink! We have stayed at other hotels in the area and were not as big and cozy as BW!

The hotel is very typical and nice. Everything has been comfortable and the service was very good: people at the reception were very kind. The location is excellent: just 30 mins from one of Yosemite entrance and the village offers everything needed. Breakfast and restaurant were very good! The area is very quiet and in the evening if you are lucky enough you can see deers. The hotel is also offering a spa and a gym which personally I didn't use. Good quality/price ratio, strongly suggested

Booked last minute for a trip to Yosemite. Got a great rate. I'm not into rustic, but this place was tastefully done. They mentioned that all of the paintings (lobby, restaurant, rooms) were done by the owner. Very talented. The staff were great - at the front desk and at the restaurant. Friendly and helpful. The free buffet breakfast was really good too. Nice place right next door. Our room was at the top of the "hill" facing trees, very peaceful. Think it was 329. The room was nice and very clean. My only complaint was the heating unit was really, really loud. If you sat outside, it was just as loud. Other than that I was pleased and my husband was impressed and he's usually not. It's deceptive, you don't notice the buildings hidden up the hill. Would definitely go back. Don't know if all BWP are as nice as this one. I saw that it's rated 2 1/2 stars. At least a 3+ for this type property.

This hotel is a great quality for family. Triple queen rooms available. Continental breakfast is like a breakfast buffet. Very good quality. Lots of space to run around for kids. Indoor heated pool and spa awesome. Playground for kids too!

Just a quick overnight stay, as we were on a tight time schedule. Beautiful lobby area and a nice place to sit and relax if you like. Our room was clean and even though we were close to the main road, traffic noise was minimal.we utilized the laundry facilities and the machines were clean and the area was kept up. Breakfast was good with waffle and pancake machines available.

Despite a lot of internet research, I wasn't sure where the best place was to stay to visit Yosemite National Park. Well, I found it with this hotel. Oakhurst is a very small town and the hotel was easy to find. Parking was no problem and check in was easy and the receptionists were friendly and helpful. We were directed to our room which was a lodge style double room with private bathroom and allocated parking directly outside. The room was comfortable enough and we were only sleeping there for a night. Like other hotels we stayed in on our trip, the decor was outdated but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel was expensive but it was much cheaper than the prices charged to stay in the Yosemite Valley and also less busy. In fact I preferred to stay at Oakhurst than in the Valley. We arrived mid afternoon and the staff advised that we visit the the giant sequoias at Mariposa Grove which was just a 20 minute drive away. What good advice that was because it gave us the whole of the next day to concentrate on Yosemite. We had a fantastic few hours at Mariposa Grove which had some lovely walks for all ages/abilities. The entrance to Yosemite is just before Mariposa Grove and I think we paid about $20 for a 7 day car pass. The next day, we visited Glacier Point which was about a 40 minute drive away and the main Yosemite valley was about an hour from the hotel - a pleasant drive, traffic was light and the views were breathtaking. Breakfast at the hotel was nothing special but was adequate before setting off to the park. The only negative is that there was a very long queue when the restaurant opened at 6.30am as everyone wanted to get away early. Despite this, the wait wasn't too long. We didn't use any of the facilities at the hotel except for a meal at the restaurant. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the meal and service were good. Again, the restaurant was like a visit back in time and like the hotel was in need of updating. To summarise, a good, clean hotel, slightly overpriced but it's virtually at the entrance to Yosemite. What you get with this hotel is location, location, location. I'd love to go back to Yosemite one day and I would stay here again.

The Yosemite Gateway Inn is one of the classiest and well laid out hotel Best Western has to offer. It feel like you are staying a forest environment. The smell of my room was extravagant and the room was very clean, It was very convenient for my pet to come along. The food from the restaurant was magnificent and the service was out of this world. Wawona Big Trees was only 20 minutes away.

The hotel is just a short drive from one of the entrances from Yosemite Valley - the one and only reason why you would go through this small village. At the visitor center close by we had some great guidance on what to make sure not to miss out from in Yosemite, and we even got driving direction of the most beautiful way of leaving the valley on our way back to San Francisco from here. The hotel had a nice breakfast. Good for American standard. We also had lunch at the hotel restaurant and thus was a nice meal, friendly staff. I would recommend this place for friends that wants to visit yosemite. Staying outside the actual Park saves you a lot of money, and give you twice the ride through the amazing forest/mountain roads when have to go through it twice in two days :)

I hate to poo poo all these gushing reviews about this hotel-but it just simply isn't the "best". There were definite pros: the grounds are lovely, room for kiddos to play and dogs to walk and trees to look out on. Some decor has been updated in the older buildings. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a fridge and microwave in the rooms-a definite plus. The TV had a good variety of stations-but the reception was a mixed bag. Now for the beds! Ugh. Half the depth of our old mattress-just inexcusable! Holiday Inn has amazing mattresses. The closet door and bathroom door-both old-squeaked so loud I felt sorry for our neighbors. The sliding door had no screen-so as well as the fresh air, bugs were invited in. The tub and toilet were old-a new mirror and countertop were nice-but felt out of place. Breakfast was the usual hotel type-hard scrambled eggs, tastless fruit, store bought pastries, etc. On check-in the clerk proudly said "our breakfast is wonderful! We have different things every day!" Clearly she hasn't eaten there. Out of three days the only difference was once day bacon was substituted for the sausage. To their credit-it was very good bacon. Down the road 3 major hotel chains are constructing hotels. They will be sparkling new with good mattresses. And they will be competing with this hotel. BW needs to step up and make some improvements to stay in business.

We arrived early and in short order they had a room for us. We were on second floor, and there is no elevator. The coin laundry came at just the right time in our trip. The room is fine, though the TV picture is rather poor. The ambiance of the whole place, set on a hillside, is very nice.

Excellent Hotel we enjoyed it very much, it was a long trip and the staff was very helpful I would suggest taking advantage of the restaurant next door it was Wonderful. and the price for the location was very good.

If we could rate this hotel better than excellent, we would. We can not fault anything about our stay. Clean, friendly, quiet and close to the park south entrance. The staff were the best of our 5 different motels over the past week. Nothing was too hard for them. Stay here if you ever need accomodation in Oakhurst.

The hotel setting is beautiful. Everything was super clean, great heated indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well. My only complaint would be the pillows. They were too thick and hard for my family.

The setting was very nice and accommodation is in different blocks. The room was clean but the bathroom was very old. It was a pale brown suite with what looked like the original toilet seat and a brown shower curtain. The sink had been fitted with new taps and the bath had a new shower head. We wouldn't stay here again purely because of the bathroom.

Great place for a big hotel! I was leaving Yosemite and I decided to stay at the best Western in Oakhurst. I arrive there kind of late at night and the lady at the desk was so nice she said if I hurried I could get some dinner at the restaurant. I don't remember the name of the restaurant but it was a whiskey bar and they had all different types of whiskeys. The food was great and I had a Portabella mushroom, stuffed. The room was adequate and I had stayed there before but I would've preferred to book a room in the back Portion of the property because you could hear the car traffic from the street.I was glad to get a room, as there were only two rooms left for the night. The breakfast was awesome! They had a very large buffet breakfast which included grits , biscuits and gravy waffles fruit and oatmeal. I think the best part of this hotel is that the manager, she may be the owner, has paintet every single room, of over 100 rooms, with a giant painting of A scene Of Yosemite on the wall above the bed. The paintings are different for each room and it must've taken her a lot of time and I think that's very unique about this hotel, not to mention the artwork is good! So if you want a nice place to stay that's interesting and the food is good, this is it!

This hotel is so unique. It was built into a hillside and all the beautiful trees and flowers are still there. Each room has a balcony where you can look over the property. You not only get a beautiful room but there are both an outdoor and indoor swimming pool and an outdoor and indoor hot tub. And also the biggest buffet breakfast that would please anyone. There is a restaurant on site for luncha and dinner with a big selection of delicious selections. Plus the staff are all so friendly and helpful. I have been coming here for years. I travel a lot and this is one of my favorite hotels. You won't find another one like it.

Nice property near Yosemite. All our requests were honored with adjoining rooms on the ground floor. Easy parking, quiet property. Bathrooms could stand some updating but that didn't impact our experience. Would definitely recommend.

Someone had the foresight to not develop every square inch of this property. It is one of the larger Best Westerns I have stayed at, with sets of rooms running up and down the hillside, but in between are pools, a waterfall, a playground, lots of landscaping and greenery, and a self-confident herd of deer that were grazing up at the top of the property as if they owned the place. The rooms are clean and climate controlled, they don't reek of deodorizers and nature is ever present outside your window. There is a restaurant with quite decent food on the property and wait staff who are polite and friendly even if you just want a sandwich and a glass of water. Amazingly affordable, at least mid-week when I stayed there. Highly recommended, just don't take my room at the top with the deer peeking in, that room is reserved for me.

We stayed one night at this hotel and it was great, we had a balcony and there were deer right outside our balcony - very cool. We went to the resturant on the property and had a nice dinner, food was good and then returned the next morning for breakfast that is included with your stay, it was also good with lots of options. If I was coming back to the area again I would definitly stay at this hotel.

Great room, staff, and restaurant/lounge on site. This Best Western has it all. The lounge serves top self beverages. The restaurant has a variety of meals all well prepared. You may choose to dine in the lounge complete with TVs for that sports bar feel or for quieter dining, the dining room. This was our second stay this year. Won't be our last. It is also a short drive (about 16 miles) to Yosemite. Perfect!

This hotel was a beautiful place. We lived the grounds with the waterfalls and beautiful landscaping. Everyone at the front desk were wonderful. Our room was really nice and I especially loved the huge bathroom with beautiful tub surround. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful property close to Yosemite. Yes, it is 90 min drive to the Valley (via a scenic road) - but 30 min to Mariposa Grove which is right by the park entrance, so it was very convenient for us since we were going to Mariposa first. Also Oakhurst has basically everything you might possibly need for a trip and a good restaurants variety - so for me it was worth driving 30 min vs. staying in closer-to-the-entrance Fish Camp with very limited everything. I was impressed with the service. I put a "special request" while booking online to be on the top floor and away from the road in a quiet area - this is exactly what I got (I've noticed those kind of requests are getting ignored in many other places). 300-400's numbered rooms are the farthest from the road, up the hill with the inside pool in the same area - which was very warm by the way in nicely decorated area. We arrived about an hour before check-in time and were greeted by a cheerful lady at the front desk who gladly accommodated our early check in. The grounds are lovely, our room was clean and comfortable and we passed a little herd of deer on the way to breakfast which was good as well. I like to stay in different places, but when I go to Yosemite again I certainly will not be looking into a different option. Thank you Best Western team!

This trip was a two week road trip with my daughter fr I'm Mich to California so it was a lot of driving but I highly recommend going through the grand Teton and Yellowstone the go south through yosimite it is unbelievably beautiful

Value for money? not here @ BW zero frills. I'd rather go some place where I wouldn't expect as much given the spend, and walk away not feeling as disappointed......be smart about this now. Need I say more...

Room, grounds, service, included breakfast were all great. Staff were all welcoming and friendly. Discover Yosemite Tour Bus picked us up at the hotel and the All Day Tour with Marsha was also an excellent experience. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and authentic mountain retreat feel at one of the most beautiful National Parks in the U.S. Be sure to check out Bass Lake as well - truly a beautiful setting!

Lovely welcome at reception. Nice grounds and accommodation blocks. Pools, jacuzzi, great laundrette, gym. Room large with fridge, microwave, coffee machine, hairdryer, iron. No aircon but there was a ceiling fan and a patio door that overlooked the pool. TV channels very fuzzy with a very basic remote. Bed large and comfortable. General feel of the room was a bit dated but it did the job. Restaurant - we ate her one night. It was 'okay'. The dining room lala atmosphere and on hindsight we should have asked to eat in the bar but I'm not sure if that is an option. Breakfast was fine - all options available. We also ate at other places in Oakhurst, there's plenty of choice. This includes a pizza from a small business across the road which was tasty. I was surprised how big oakhurst was. Lots of shops and amenities, including Crossfit and a huge gym in town. Though I didn't use the the gyms as Yosemite is the best outdoor gym. The drive each day to Yosemite Valley (not the entrance) took us about 90 min. It costs $35 per car to enter the park and this lasts 7 days. I will definitely be returning to Yosemite. I may opt to try and stay a bit closer next time.

We stayed 6 nights and we were only planning to stay 3 nights. The accommodations, location, and setting were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would like to give a special recognition to Lori. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and make sure that we had an exceptional stay while at the BW Gateway Inn. She was friendly, patient, and professional. The morning breakfast was extra special. Not only was the selection of food very good, but the staff were constantly making sure that everything was just right. Make note of all the paintings and murals in the rooms and guest areas. They were painted by the owner. She is a very talented painter and makes the whole experience seem like home. We are definitely returning.

Just stayed one night, but was great location before entering Yosemite in the morning. Clean, helpful front desk, and good breakfast. Laundry room available. Was also helpful to visit the Yosemite visitor's center down the street before going into the park.

We had a double bedded room that had everything that we needed. My wife especially rated the hair dryer and its' position right next to a mirror. Many hotels provide hairdryers and mirror, but not located near each other

Enjoyed our stay and very pleased with our room. Beds were very comfortable and bathroom was spacious with a double sink. The room was decorated with a beautiful painting of Yosemite. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of hot and cold breakfast items.

We always stay here when traveling through the Yosemite area. Although it is a larger hotel, each of the rooms has it's own peaceful setting. (As we were leaving,there was a deer enjoying the grass right outside our door.) The facility restuarant is conveniently located and the "free" breakfast was the best of our trip. Just a heads up....I made my reservation about two months ahead of my arrival. When I rechecked my reservation, I saw that the rate had dropped considerably. I cancelled my original reservation and made a new one about a week ahead of my stay at a much improved rate.

When traveling with a family it is always hard to find priceworthy hotel rooms but this is it! Nice rooms with up to 3 queensize beds, clean bathrooms, spacious rooms with coffee and tea making machine in the middle section. Balcony towards the nature park like surrounding. Outdoor and indoor pool included and a jaccuzzi. Fine restaurant with great menu. Compared to 5 ys ago when we fell in love with this hotel they now include breakfast in the price making it even more price-worthy. I will definitely come back again.

A very welcoming hotel, great rooms with all the amenities you could possibly need, just close enough to Yosemite National Park and blocks away from all you could ever need like Pharmacies, grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, auto repairs etc... the staff was awesome, very friendly and always there to help... I will be coming back to this hotel and I highly recommend it

This hotel, even though it is dated, has clean, quiet rooms. Their employees were all helpful and said that working for BW Plus was enjoyable and rewarding.We were able to check in early and enjoy the pools. We were very surprised by the size of the hotel. 4 + buildings which made for a hike to the lobby and pools if you are in the upper buildings. Location is great for visiting Yosemite and there are restaurants and shops within walking distance. Only complaint we had was the service at the restaurant, Oakhurst Grill, was not very efficient and food was just okay. We went to Smokehouse 41 and got better service and food.

I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Plus in Oakhurst, Ca. The Inn was very clean, the grounds were very pretty and lush. The 2 pools looked great, even though I didn't get a chance to use them. The full breakfast buffet included) was awesome. Bed was comfortable and the shower worked well.I highly recommend Best Western Plus!❤️

I went to Yosemite with my wife stayed at the Best Western plus because they allow pets very quiet place nice and clean free breakfast in the morning . Also there are a lot of pets place where you can take your pet to go do his thing and there are bags available for you to pick it up too . pet friendly place that's a plus

Arrive at the hotel after a big days driving from Monetary. Check in was fast and the lady behind reception was lovely and welcoming. We were given a room in the 4000 blocks right up near the top. You can drive and park your cars outside the blocks. Got to the room and it was clean and spacious, we had 2 queen beds and a balcony. large bathroom with a fridge and a microwave. This place has 2 pools, one indoor (we didn't go in this one however looked nice enough) and a outdoor one with a hot tub. Both beautiful maintained and open from 7am until 10:30 at night, lovely to relax in after a busy day exploring the national park. Breakfast was included and was by far the best breakfast on our road trip. There was full cooked breakfast, make your own pancakes, waffles, fruit, cereal, yogurt, everything you needed they had it. The location is great, takes around 1.5 hours to the main Yosemite valley. the restaurant was nice and reasonably priced food. Unfortuantly our youngest took ill whilst we stayed there, but the hotel were fantastic in providing a pop up spare bed, extra sheets, let us bring food fro the restaurant to the room - honesty couldn't have asked for more. there is a laundrette on site, which is great if like us your traveling light. the grounds are kept beautifully. I can safety say I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a base whilst they explore Yosemite.

Within a half an hour of Southgate to Yosemite. One of the few hotels that have 2 king bed rooms. The room also had table & 2 chairs, countertop with fridge. There were tiny ants all of the desk even after cleaning it with soap and water. Higher priced but. Ether than in the park. Restaurant was just ok for dinner, it was $100 for 4 of us and not outstanding. Free breakfast however was much better then most hotels. Eggs were real and potatoes were cooked well.

This is a large property with many rooms. There is an indoor and outdoor pool. There are grills for cooking. Breakfast is included in a nice hotel restaurant. The staff is nice. The property is decorated with fun statues, like the Statue of Liberty and all the rooms have paintings of Yosemite by the same artist.

This is a great hotel, and it is much better that the national park hotels. The drive to Yosemite Village is only 1 hr 15 min if you go in the early morning. The room is a little dated, but very clean and comfortable.

We paid a premium of staying here over other hotels which were cheaper and better. The rooms are at least 30 years old and the air con was dreadful. They seemed dark and almost scary. We paid for this hotel because from the pictures it looked good and a lot better than the other in the area however that was not the case. In future we know to prioritise location over hotel , the drive was horrific each morning and made us tired before we even got to the park. The hotel pool was small however is you can find a chair it's okay to sit by. I wouldn't recommend this hotel was it's far from the park and just outdated. However they have 3 great waffle machines.

While the amenities and exterior were nice the room was not and that is the main reason for a hotel. The room was on the smallish side for having two beds. The bottom of the bathtub had a blackish tinge to it. The picture on the flat screen tv looked like it was coming in over rabbit ears on a tv from 1985. my biggest complaint is the beds. we booked a room that was said to have two queen size beds. The mattresses were clearly not queen sized. A queen bed is traditionally 60 inches wide. these beds were 55 inches which is a full size bed using standard mattress size standards. I personally have a queen size bed at home in which my young daughter, her mother and myself can fit into so we assumed the same would be true for the "queen size" bed at the hotel. When I brought it up to the front desk they brushed aside my complaint telling me that the beds are what's considered "hotel queen" mattresses. I feel it is deceptive to advertise a full size mattress as a queen size mattress. If I ever go back to Yosemite I will not be staying here.

We arrived, checked in and issued room, once at room we found it was occupied by someone else. Thank goodness no one was in there. Was given a new room next to outdoor pool. Room was average, very old and tired and the air conditioner was very noisy, could not sleep with it on. Ceiling fan was ok but again noisy. Room was clean, bed comfortable, it was nice to be able to sit outside and have a beer overlooking the pool. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and that was good but the dinner was very average. Easy access to Yosemite but leave early in morning as it can get busy on the road. Staff friendly and helpful.

We stayed when we were returning from Yosemite National park. All suroundings met our expectations - there was quiet environment, comfortable rooms, pool and very good breakfast in the morning. It seems that hotel is older, but it is clean.

Quiet, older hotel but very clean. Unique set up with multiple buildings and each room had its own exterior door and balcony or patio. Nice landscaping. Outdoor and indoor pool, laundry area and fitness center. Could easily walk to breakfast from any of the units. Breakfast was excellent (breakfast burritos, fresh fruit, eggs, meat, breads, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles and cereals) and breakfast was included with nightly hotel charge. Plenty of safe and free of charge parking. The town of Oakhurst is currently building 3 brand new hotels on the edge of town which look to maybe be done the end of this year. This hotel may have a hard to competing when those newer/modern options eventually open up. Pricing a bit high per night with no recent modern renovations. Still very nice and clean option, sort of like a cross between a camping facility and having an apartment. Still about 1 and a 1/2 hrs to Yosemite valley floor from this hotel. Gas, food and grocery store close by.

We stayed here for a few days in July to visit Yosemite. Pros: The staff is great. Everyone is friendly and helpful. We dined at the restaurant on the property and our waitress, Joline was really nice and accommodating. The food was good and service even better. My kids loved the indoor pool and spa. The pool and spa alone makes this hotel stand out in a big way. After a long day of driving, walking and hiking in Yosemite, the pool and spa is something you will appreciate. The hotel provides pool towels, which is very convenient. Thank you for good stay. Cons: We paid $300 a night ($330 after taxes) for July (peak pricing). During July, BW does not accept AAA or any other discounts. The location isn't great. BW and the staff will say that it is close to the gates of Yosemite, and technically they are right, but it's not all true. What they don't tell you is that it takes about 1.5 hours of driving time to get into Yosemite Valley from the front gate. The driving gets old after the second day. Yosemite Valley is where you want to be for the best hikes and scenery. But the pools and spa at the BW makes up for it.

This Best Western PLUS! Is a Dream! Come True!!! BIG Hint! Use thee YARTS Bus! For $20 Round Trip! The Bus Stop is Across the street from the hotel! I Relaxed! Enjoying the Beautiful Scenery, while the Best Bus Driver(Thank You! Gary!) dealt with the traffic! Once in the Valley, I used the Free Shuttle, NO Car Needed! And The Best Western Plus, BEAUTIFUL!!! And the Free Breakfast! Is Served in the restaurant! So it is a Full Breakfast! And Very Good! And when you return from your day, In Yosemite, There is The Restaurant/Bar, For Dinner! Reasonably priced, Compared to What you would PAY!@Yosemite! THANK YOU!!! BEST Western PLUS!!!

Don't go anywhere else! All of the staff were exceptional. Everyone we met had a smile and friendly attitude. The room was extremely clean and well-appointed. It was quiet at night; beds were comfy. Buffet breakfast included at the restaurant across the driveway. The rooms are spacious including the bathroom. The attention to the guest is exceptional. I would stay here again every time I go to Yosemite. Staying here was the "frosting on the cake." I highly recommend this hotel.

Spent a couple of nights here while visiting Yosemite. Important to notice that the property is not as close to the park as one may think (Over an hour drive to the parks visitor center) however there aren't many options closer. I chose this hotel as it seems better than the rest and I guess that kind of summarizes it. It is situated in a nice setting, spread out, and has two pools and a tiny exercise room (that only opens at 8am). Our room was quite outdated, second floor with no elevator, carpet was full of dog hair from previous visitors I can imagine. Bathroom is the best colors the 80's had to offer (brown). The restaurant near by is a descent option for dinner while the complimentary breakfast is good. Otherwise the town is quite dead. I gave it 4 stars because it's probably the better option in the area.

My family and I have been touring California for one week, full of adventure and $275/night hotels. This one comes out on top! Not only is access to Yosemite excellent, but the included breakfast/dining experience is the best in the country. I travel a lot, with family residing in the Midwest, Northwest and South. I've had lots of breakfasts the morning after, so to speak. I mean, this place has a yogurt parfait bar, breakfast burritos, made to order pancakes/waffles, biscuits, fruit, soy milk! I could go on. The ONLY complaint is the pillows: way too thick. I'm a physical therapist and see a lot of neck pain come from thick pillows. Get thin pillows as an option and I'll be back on the regular;)

We highly recommend this hotel—a jewel that completes one's visit to the Yosemite National Park. The setting and the amenities provide a relaxing ambience. We would love to experience this place again.

After a long drive through Yosemite this was a welcome stop. Lovely big room with comfy beds. Brilliant breakfast and lovely setting . Wasn't there very long but would be a great base for a couple of days

My family has stayed there for years when we visit Yosemite. It's a beautiful property with a good restaurant that's open for dinner when we arrive. The paintings on the walls, done by the owner are absolutely gorgeous and bring Yosemite to life for the guests.

You're paying for the location This hotel is fine, and it worked for a night, but it's nothing fancy and definitely overpriced for the quality and what you get. It was $220 a night, and there are limited options close to Yosemite and all are very overpriced, but that's how it is in small towns and tourist traps like this. Only a 45 minute drive to the Yosemite entrance. The room was mostly clean, the TV was huge and it was nice to have a microwave and fridge. The front desk staff was nice and the woman who ran the breakfast was really friendly. I was impressed with the breakfast, the food selections were great. My biggest complaint was breakfast didn't start until 6:30am, most hotels have breakfast start at 6:00am, and considering people like to get an early start into Yosemite to beat the crowds it would have been much better if breakfast started earlier.

Super nice staff and great breakfast. Nicer than what we expected! Very convenient location relative to Yosemite and nice little down. Would stay here again in a heart beat! Very nice for families. Saw deer just outside our room in the morning!

Our stay was overnight, and the place exceeded our expectations! The staff is super friendly, the rooms are tidy, the beds comfy, pillows fluffed and linens crisp! The breakfast offered is a hot buffet! Eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, waffle maker, pancake maker, cereal, granola, yogurt, fruit medley, and whole fresh fruit, coffee, milk, and juice. The dining area is quite lovely as well, and the waiters, servers, and host are exceptionally polite and diligent. The property is lush with lots of oleanders, tall fragrant bushes, and flowering hedges. The winding road makes a romantic walk to the restaurant connected to the property.

We stayed here last in 2010. This time I booked a suite with two rooms, three queen beds and one couch single bed. The room was on the new section and quite nice with plenty of parking. It was also very handicap accessible and had a microwave and fridge. They have a pool indoors and outdoors. Free breakfast was a big buffet with lots of options. It's located in the restaurant located next door.

Great BW Plus hotel, excellent location to visit Yosemite NP. Big clean room with 2 queen beds, coffee maker (pity not a kettle or Nespresso), fridge, TV + DVD player, good aircon, + a ceiling fan ! Free WiFi, but no safe. Clean and large bathroom with in shower in bath, good water pressure and towels of a good quality. Very quiet at night, slept like a rose here. A balcony, but not private (walk by) Breakfast full American self-service. THIS is a BW Plus ! One thing to beware of : many separate pavilions with rooms, most of them higher up hill ! Very difficult or even impossible for people who have difficulty walking/steps. You can park a car in front of your room but the restaurant is down the hill.

We are a family of 5 and it is getting more and more difficult to find a family room rather than forced to book 2 rooms. If you are looking for a clean, quite and great value for your buck by Yosemite NP - this is a fabulous choice. The specious family room had 3 queen beds, small balcony and large clean bathroom. The room was clean, had microwave and mini fridge - perfect for families. Breakfast was great with good choice and decent quality. For dinner there is on site restaurant-bar as well as various choices in close proximity. The hotel also has 2 pools (indoor and outdoor) , a bbq area and playground. It is only 30 minutes drive from Yosemite south entrance and the Mariposa grove. All in - It is highly recommended for families.

Super clean, very friendly staff, comfortable beds and the breakfast is good. We had a rental for a private property and when we arrived we were horrified at the condition. We walked in off the street here without a reservation and snagged the last room. Wonderful experience. You won't regret staying here.

This very large, busy, and crowded Best Western Inn exists to serve visitors to Yosemite National Park. Rooms are decent-sized and as clean as a large 100% occupancy hotel can be - they try hard. Be prepared for breakfast lines to the full buffet breakfast, and long waits for the crowded dining room - nevertheless, food at the dining room was surprisingly decent. The hotel is relatively expensive during high season for what you get and is probably better value during low seasons.

FYI the outdoor pool is closed and doesn't look like it will be open anytime soon. They do have an indoor pool. Otherwise, the room was nice, and the restaurant on site is pretty good. But for us, the pool was a deal breaker.

We had a great stay at the Best Western Gateway. Lovely clean hotel with beautiful grounds. Room was well appointed and very clean. We loved having the wet sink area with fridge and microwave. Great for families. Nice, friendly staff and close to Yosemite. Would highly recommend.

A really great place to stay when visiting the Yosemite area. The hotel grounds are beautiful, has more of a resort charm and it is peaceful. Did I mention the breakfast, it is the best you can get anywhere, and with bonus of great views while having your meal. The rooms are comfortable but can be better with a little renovation. If I am back in the area, I will surely stay here

We were delighted with this classy hotel-- beautiful landscaping, with small, separate buildings that are set attractively into the hillside and make it feel more like a group of townhouses than a hotel. Very nice indoor pool. Everything has been thought of in the room for comfort, including great beds and pillows and areas for storing suitcases. The room was large and had a BALCONY-- with a comfortable seating area looking out on the trees. The only thing I would change is that the French doors don't allow for screens, which meant the only real source of outside air (other than the small bathroom window) should be closed at night. We were on the second floor so we kept the balcony door open anyway. All in all, a really comfortable place to stay that doesn't have that commercial hotel feel and has been very intelligently and attractively thought out to be the equivalent of a resort. We thought it offered quite good value for the price.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this hotel and it still does not disappoint. The room is lovely and nice to come back to after a day in Yosemite. You have to make an early start and get up for 6.30 breakfast in order to get into the park and find a space before it's full. We found that out on the first day. Use the shuttle service it's so much easier just secure your parking early - at 8.15 it was nearly full today. Food in the hotel restaurant is good and the staff everywhere are so helpful - no complaints from us - we will be sorry to leave tomorrow!!

First let me get the only bad out of the way. It's pricey to stay here and it's built on a steep hill so be prepared to walk up and down to get to the lobby or the restaurant. Check in and out was easy and staff are super friendly. There is a restaurant on site and the free breakfast is served in that restaurant. The breakfast has a wide variety of hot and cold items. The room is clean, bed comfortable and bathroom clean. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. Being that this hotel is near the south gate of Yosemite, they are able to charge but they also provide a clean, comfortable, customer oriented facility. As long as you're willing to pay, this place is ideal.

This is a very beautiful hillside location. Rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated. The on site restaurant is convenient and the food and service were excellent. We used the exercise room and were impressed by the quantity and quality of the equipment. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone traveling to the area.

Nice and close to everything Yosemite related, bass lake and in a gorgeous location. The hotel rooms are nice and quiet, with a view if you stay upstairs and very clean and tidy. Lots of trees and park areas around. Saw deer, squirrels and hummingbirds! Super friendly and helpful staff. Warm pool and hot spa also! 10/10.

We have stayed in many Best Western hotels. This was one of the best. It is deceiving when you drive up to register, how big the place is. There are two pools, one outdoor and one indoor. There is a spa going in. Also BBQ area. Most of the rooms are uphill from the registration. It can be quite a walk. There are several buildings with groups of rooms. We were in 301. It had two queen beds, large room and bath, balcony with two chairs and a table. Parking is right outside the room. We have a show car that we brought up and the staff was kind enough to give us cones to make sure our car was safe from opening doors. The grounds are beautiful. Very lush, lots of plants and ground cover. There is a restaurant that is part of the hotel where breakfast was served. Best selection of food at any BW we have been too. Several hot dishes plus the usual cereals, pastries, juice, milk, coffee etc. The restaurant also server dinner. We will definitely be staying here again.

I liked the way the hotel is spread out on a big garden lot, with flowers and trees. The staff was helpful and fun. Decent breakfast. A big indoor pool. Decent pricing. Only about a 30 minute drive to Yosemite's southern gateway and Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. There are lots of restaurants and shops in Oakhurst so one can stock up on the way to Yosemite.

In town for a running race - had stayed at a different hotel last year for the same race and was not happy with that hotel - so got a room at the Best Western and it was great. Staff was very friendly with a smooth check in. On site restaurant was good, with good food and reasonable prices. The price for the hotel room was also good (in fact, less expensive than the worse hotel up the road). Room was big and had everything we needed. Wi-Fi worked well for the little time I used it. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. If I head back to the area - especially for a quick easy trip - this would be my hotel of choice.

room was great, location was great. Second and third shift girls working at the desk were absolutely amazing! i hope to be able to return next year and i hope the same girls are working there, i feel like i made friends in the short time i was there.

Location is not too far from the park. YARTS shuttle stops are close by if you prefer not to drive in. Downtown area close by with several restaraunts and shops. Has fairly typical Best Western rooms.

Scheduled handicapped room assigned to someone else. Skipped shower one night. Made reservation 40 days in advance. Greeter very helpful. Not real far from the park. The pizza place in town is the greatest.

We stay here the last few times we visited Yosemite and we enjoy each stay. They use dispenser in the shower instant of giving you disposable shampoo containers. Great for the environment but not good if the dispenser does not work. First day the shampoo dispenser was empty, they replace the dispenser but did not test to see if it works. Took us several minutes of pushing hard to get a very slow and thin stream of fluid. Other then that the room was very nice, clean and comfortable.

The staff is amazing! The room was immaculate. The property is beautiful. Perfect location to get to Yosemite and bass lake. Excellent choice for anyone running the Yosemite half marathon. Super easy to get to shuttles day of the race!

We were very pleased with the accommodations and service at the Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway. Loretta and Ronda (Front Desk) were very helpful and the grounds are maintained well. If you're looking for a place outside of Yosemite, but within easy driving distance, this is a great place to stay.

Was able to park right in front of our room which made it easy to load/unload. Room was large- two king beds, lots of counter space in bathroom...CLEAN. Friendly front desk. Indoor pool w bathroom and vending machines...great fun for kids and adults. outdoor pool being remodeled. Great atmosphere. You can hear the highway traffic in the am. I slept thru it, my husband had to put earplugs in. we were in room 141...which is right near the road.

We arrived in town late afternoon without a reservation. The receptionist was very polite and accommodating in making sure we got a room on the bottom floor we requested. We got a better price than we received from Days Inn across the street. Room was very nice and clean. Breakfast spread was wonderful. I would very highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I, along with three kids, were pleasantly surprised by our room and grounds. We had a kitchenette, second sink space, and a THIRD queen bed! After a long day at Yosemite, our kids were able to swim in the beautiful indoor pool and sleep comfortably. There was a table and play space behind our building we used for a picnic lunch, and the staff was friendly.

We stayed at the Best Western plus in Oakhurst. Our plan was to visit Yosemite for a couple days. We enjoyed our visit very much. Our room was pleasant and had a balcony. There were two pools on the premises and we swam in the indoor pool and spa.Our stay included a wonderful buffet breakfast each morning.

Stayed here for one night in April with the main purpose being to visit Yosemite. The hotel is a motel but very cute and nicely decorated. Room was clean and spacious and the lush trees and foliage felt like you were up in the middle of the mountains. Great free breakfast at the restaurant on property. Very friendly service and fast check in. Yosemite is about a half hour drive and we found it convenient.

I loved this hotel. The hotel is cute 1970's American Cabin chic. Cute cabin feel, lovingly maintained, everything was in good repair and order, they even supplied vegan toiletries in a fun citrus scent. There's an indoor pool, we think an outside pool was being updated. My friend and I got the family two bedroom suite/ triple queen room for the 5 of us on the second floor. BE CAREFUL because the steps on the bottom set of stairs are shorter than usual. After tripping the first time, I figured it out. I did not see any elevators in that building, although it looked like you could get to the first floor down a couple stairs from parking, there were less stairs down than going up. We were in 408, which is one of the last buildings all the way in the back. (There's a play structure good for kids under 10 on the property near this building) I enjoyed how quiet and private it was. Room is configured as follows, open door and one queen bed and tv, tiny mini fridge and microwave then outside sink, a door and a room with two queen beds and a balcony. I would recommend replacing or turning the beds in there, they all seemed to have body divots. There is a moderately priced restaurant on property, where the free breakfast is served. It is a typical Best Western Plus breakfast, and had a couple things i've never seen, like the ability to make a breakfast burrito ( Great for taking on the road to the park) or the mini waffles. There are lots of options for sides and drinks too. Whether you prefer eggs, potatoes, and meat or yogurt and fruit, or cereal and coffee, they had it all. This hotel is also in town, I would say the last large town when driving north to the first Yosemite entrance from LA, so there are tons of options, whether you need a grocery store, eclectic souvenir, lots of dining options, fast food, drug store, or multiple gas station options. From this hotel in Oakhurst, the park entrance is about 45 minutes away. Once in the park you'll pass a few lodging options, then about an hour - 1.5 hours drive later, (stop at the tunnel view on your left on the way down) you get to the valley, where many of the best parts of the park are. On a day with no traffic, it still took 70 minutes to get to tunnel view and 15 to the valley floor. If you're coming from far away and want a break before heading into the park, or perhaps you're only planning on a day in Yosemite, OR you want to spend nights in town near the highway with lots of services, stores, and restaurants, then this is a great place to stay. If you're planning on going to the park daily for a couple days and doing lots of hiking, stay in the valley, not just in the park, IN THE VALLEY. I estimate that we spent a minimum of 6 hours commuting to the valley across two days, that was fine for us, we were willing to give some things up, but others may not have been happy with that.

This was the nicest BEST Best Western I have ever stayed in. It is on a beautiful 7 acre property. The lobby is very rustic and well decorated for the area. The breakfast is above average for Best Western as it is in an actual restaurant, it is served buffet style from 7:00- 10:00am. You will find scrambled eggs , bacon, biscuits and gravy, you can make breakfast burrito,s, waffles, there are home fries and fresh fruit salad, cereals, coffee, tea ,juices. I would have loved to stay here longer. This hotel is only 20-25minutes to the Yosemite park entrance, please know that once you enter the park it is another hour and 15 minutes or so to actually get to the tunnel view and another 15 minutes from there to get to the visitor center. The wawona road is very windy and curvy and you have to drive slower than you might expect. If you do not mind driving in and out of the park during your stay then this Best Western is a great place to be. I knew we would be spending all day hiking so we chose to stay in a condo 30 minutes or less from the trail heads we wanted to hike, after a long day exploring trails we were happy for the short ride (yet still very winding). Thank you Best Western Oakhurst our stay was awesome.

This hotel is an excellent choice if you are staying outside the park. (It's about a 1.5-hour drive into Yosemite Valley, depending on the size of the traffic buildup at the entrance to the park.) The hotel features several buildings built into a steep hillside spread across several acres. The grounds and the interior of the rooms were spotless. The restaurant building is next to the lobby building on the side of the road. Free breakfast was diverse and plentiful but not spectacular. Far better was the dinner we had there; food and service were excellent and prices were moderate. It's a great place for families, with an indoor pool and fun statues of giant squirrels etc. scattered about the grounds.

We spent 4 days in Yosemite and stopped in Oakhurst for the night after our 5 hour drive from LA. We loved this hotel. We had a couple of special requests and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. They were very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and big and spotlessly clean. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool after sitting in the car for hours. The next day we enjoyed a huge, hot breakfast that's included with the room. Then we were off to Yosemite. I would highly recommend this hotel if you need to stay in the Oakhurst area.

Rooms are very spacious for family of 5. Location is on the highway to Yosemite southern entrance. Very nice premises gardening and facilities like gym and restaurant. We stayed at the upper room so there was a nice view.

This place is awesome... The location is perfect for visiting Yosemite, Continental breakfast was amazing... Hotel amenities were perfect and super surprised to have an indoor pool/hot tub. Price was on point.. Overall a FANTASTIC stay!

We had spent a full day exploring Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and knew it would be an extra long day if we drove on into Yosemite. We chose to take a rest and spend the night in Oakhurst, right outside Yosemite, and it was the perfect choice for us. Oakhurst is a cute little town with easy access to all kinds of stores, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. The Best Western Plus is on the main highway and is very clean, neat, and affordable. Our room was up a hill with great views of a garden and pool. The room was large and comfy with a patio and was extremely quiet. Breakfast (included) was in the main restaurant and was a full buffet with every breakfast food choice imaginable.This was the cherry on top for us. We had a delicious breakfast in a very nice dining room and headed on into Yosemite the morning after a comfortable night's sleep. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location and cost.

Came up to the Yosemite area for two days of snowshoeing at Badger Pass and a visit to the valley and stayed at this Best Western for 2 nights. Room was large, very clean, and nicely appointed, with a comfortable bed. Toilet and sink were both on the "small" side, however, were clean and ample. The included full buffet breakfast at the hotel's restaurant offered many hot choices such as scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, self-service waffle and pancake makers, yogurt, fresh fruit, and plenty of hot coffee, flavored creamers, and juices. The restaurant staff was cordial, efficient, and friendly. While not a complaint, we were a bit surprised that, being BW Club members,there were no added perks (i.e. complimentary bottled water in the room, etc.) We would definitely stay here again as the included full breakfast and AAA rate made it a bargain for us!

Enjoyed the quality and hospitality great location for getting to and from both Yosemite and Bass Lake. Highly recommend .. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Gym and swimming pool were well maintained. The staff were very helpful and willing to help out were needed.

Beautiful place, warm welcome, clean and simple. Highly recommended. We came as a family with 3 grown up kids, so having free laundry services is really a big relief. Prices are not low though not the highest.

Great stay! Always stay here when heading to Yosemite! Great breakfast and stafff! It was stormy at the moment of our visit but the staff was very kind and reassuring. My family really enjoys staying here.

The rooms are a bit dated but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is Included and was the best breakfast buffet I have ever had at a lower cost hotel. The staff were all helpful and friendly. I will be back on my next trip to Yosemite.

Great place to stay with family near local amenities. Oakhurst has everything from food joints, banks, groceries, and as I found the cheapest gas Enjoyed complimentary breakfast. Only complaint is the pillows were a bit firm.

Warm welcome and a quiet location, with the usual amenities of a Best Western and the food in the restaurant was delicious. This Hotel is a serious contender for a quiet spot just on the outskirts of the Park itself.

I am a local resident and always refer anyone coming to our area to stay here. The views are increadible. The grounds are native plants and birds a plenty. The rooms are clean and beds are cozy. They have an extravaganza of breakfast items all fresh at their buffet each morning. Dave Klatt was the guitarist in the lounge, a local entertainer. His smooth music was perfect. Good job staff!

Our stay was quite pleasant and met all of our needs. The staff is very attentive. The price was right, too! This was a business/leisure combo trip and this location was perfect! We enjoyed lunch in the Whiskey Lounge.

The exterior of the hotel was very appealing. Check in staff were very friendly and helpful. The hot tub was not that hot but still enjoyable. The room was clean and the bed was soft enough to be comfortable.

This's our third time to stayed at Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn. Since our grandson(7 & 9 years) old enough they liked more out door adventure. We took them to Yosemite like we did it with our children, when they were young. It's a wonderful place to on earth spend time with your family. It's during spring break, all the hotel in or near by the park was very expensive. So we settle at this hotel. The price was very reasonable included great breakfast. We loved it right away, because it cleaned and the court yard was beautiful, plus it have a very nice & clean indoor swimming pool, which our grandson loved it. Even those a little more an hours to get in side the park but we still love it because we saved some and still had a great time.

My husband and I took a weekend getaway along with our dog. The hotel themed pretty good and pictures and reviews but when we got there I was amazed at the beauty and size of it! We were comfortable we had a fridge and microwave and a balcony. It snowed almost the whole time. There are play areas which were sufficient for us for our time and our dog. We saw lots of kids, families. There are areas to walk and play. Indoor outdoor pool, Fitness area, paths to walk on, on-site restaurant that is very spacious and they have more than you have ever seen at any Best Western for breakfast options! All included in your stay. This felt more like a cabin like atmosphere and we can't wait to go back. Everyone there was friendly and everything is well maintained even all the gentleman that were out clearing paths from the snow!

We stay here when we visit Yosemite. Hotel is in a good location, has a great people working the front desk. Room are a good size and comfortable. They also serve a good breakfast would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Yosemite. About the only negative would be the drive into the Yosemite National Park from this location, can be a lot of traffic during the summer.

This hotel is located in Oakhurst, which is outside of Yosemite. The room was very large and clean. We enjoyed a hot buffet breakfast (included) at the adjoining restaurant. Very good value! We'd stay here again.

BW Plus Ysoemite Gateway Inn is located conveniently in the middle of Oakhurst by the main road. The rooms are located in several buildings in large area. Upon check in the reception staff was somewhat stressed and really unfriendly. They gave just the basic information, but did not bother to inform about their restaurant being busy for dinner. This we found out later on and had to wait 50 minutes for the table. Our rooms were size wise big but quite outdated. One of our two rooms was lacking heating which was noticed by our freezing kids in the middle of the night. The indoor pool was located in a separate building. Strangely, there were no changing rooms nor showers in the pool area. Also, I have never came across so heavily chlorite smelling water anywhere in the world. The restaurant was cosy and very popular. Service was smooth and food basic but good. The breakfast was quite basic but served the purpose. If you would like to experience Twin Peaks 2.0, this is the place to stay!

Great people work here, very nice and accommodating. Rooms are comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. Will definitely come back, love the area. The restaurant next door was okay,. Pretty good breakfast too.

The Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn is a very good place to stay. The location is excellent. The rooms, grounds and resturant are excellent. The staff are very friendly and professional. The room service is excellent.

We have stayed at this hotel twice and the hotel is very clean. There is a laundry room on site that we had to use and it is clean as well. The rooms are tucked into the property's hills in clusters of 8-10 rooms and it makes you feel like you are in a small cabin like area. The hotel restaurant is good and convenient.

We spent one night at Best Western Plus during our holiday trip to Yosemite. The hotel has a convenient location near national park (about 40 min) in a nice mountain town Oakhurst. The reception area is spacious and well decorated. The front desk staff is welcoming and helpful. The hotel rooms are situated behind the main building in park like setting. Our accommodation was just few stairs from the parking lot. It was a medium size room with two queen size beds, small sitting area, desk and TV. There was a small kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator and a good size bathroom with the bathtub. Everything was clean, and it was quiet. The breakfast was included in the price and it was served in adjoining Oakhurst Grill. It is a nice cozy place with a fireplace and a nice view. The breakfast had a great selection (eggs, potatoes, biscuits, fruits) and not using plastic. BW Plus is a good quality accommodation in a great location.

This hotel is laid out in several buildings on 8 acres going up a hill. The grounds are very pretty. Lots of greenery. The hotel has a feel of more of a lodge. The breakfast was good. Lots to choose from. The indoor pool was wonderful. Also a hot tub and sauna. I was very impressed with this hotel and will be back again if in the area.

Van broke down in Oakhurst so we had to stay somewhere for the night. This was affordable, they gave us a great room and the bed was super comfy! I don't remember the front desk clerks' names but they were very accommodating and entertaining, even if it was their Monday! =D The room was big and clean and had a good view and the shower was perfect. I really liked the soaps and shampoos they had in there too. Thanks Best Western!

We loved or two night stay at this hotel! The staff during check in was super friendly. Our room in one of the buildings on top of the hill was big and clean. The bathroom was hugh. We even had a balcony. Absolutly fantastic was the breakfast buffet (included). We highly recommend this hotel and would for sure stay here again.

Very nice and clean hotel ,staff also very friendly and helpful, large property so was nice and quiet,and if you like a lot of trees this is the place for you....and Yosemite is so close plus Bass Lake is down the road if you need to get your fish on.

At the last minute, during a driving trip through California, we decided to go to Yosemite for the day. It was the middle of December and weren't sure what would be available. I searched through TripAdvisor and other websites for suggestions on places to stay. Oakhurst is basically the last town (is it even big enough to give it that name?) before you get to Yosemite Park and we saw 2 choices that got good reviews on TripAdvisor. We looked at the 2 choices from the highway and decided on the Best Western because it looked like they had a full service restaurant right next door. Boy, I'm glad we made this choice! It was a great experience. - When we checked-in, we were offered a lower rate than what was quoted without even asking for it. - The front desk clerk explained how breakfast (included in the price of the room) worked- where the restaurant was, a good idea of what would be available, time it was open. She also recommended a few local eateries for dinner (it was dark, we were tired, and we just wanted to get a bite to eat that wasn't horrible). - The restaurant is "attached" to the hotel in that they share the same parking lot and the restaurant is the location for the free breakfast. GREAT restaurant. Lots of locals, super nice staff. Honestly, one of the best meals we had during our trip through California. It was about $90 for the 3 of us, including tip, but I had a glass of wine, we ate real entrees, and we each had dessert- a very reasonable price. - Room was huge! 2 very comfortable queen beds, a large bathroom, nice little balcony that looked out over a green area that I imagine would see a lot of people hanging out in during nicer weather months. The actual furnishings were decent- modest, clean, comfortable but not the latest in fashionable furnishings or trimmings that you see in some higher-end hotels but definitely a steal of a deal for the price. Absolutely no complaints from us. - Front desk clerk also gave us some maps of Yosemite, a few marketing materials probably put out by local organizations about what to do when in Yosemite plus she informed us about road closures and some weather issues that we might have because it was supposed to snow that night. Overall, the staff was amazing- welcoming, full of advice & information, overall great experience. Rooms were clean, bright, and comfortable. Free breakfast and several available food options quite close by. A winner!

We had a good experience at The Best Western Plus Yosemite. It is a very pretty setting and the room was basic, but clean (really pretty mural painted one the wall). Based on observation and conversations with local folks it is the nicest place to stay in Oakhurst.

Our room smelt like a bar and the carpet had big stains. The worst part for us was at 10pm when I got into bed and discovered hairs across the bedsheet. Reception accommodated by sending housekeeping to change the sheets but it's really unacceptable. The bathroom in our room was seriously outdated, the shower head had the water pressure of a fire hydrant and the shower curtin was mouldy. However the breakfast was fantastic, great selection and a lovely dinning area overlooking the mountains. We will stay again, but will be checking the room thoroughly before unpacking our bags.

Really charming property with beautiful grounds spread out in smaller 2 story groups of hotel rooms all going up a hill . Our room #406 was on the bottom floor ( at my request) and is a corner unit with a beautiful outdoor area behind the room and a play area for my kids. The room is set up with a small room with a queen bed and TV, attached to a nice size bathroom and a small area with an additional sink and microwave, small bar size mini fridge and coffee maker. The next room ( separated with a door) has 2 double beds , a tv and table and chairs. The room has a patio door that also has a nice patio with chairs to sit and watch the kids play. The staff seems friendly , they give you plenty of coffee and towels. The indoor pool is small, the hot tub is way too small for the hotel and over crowded. They for sure should have a bigger hot tub. The gym is small but well equppped with a stair climber, elliptical and treadmill and bike. A few weight machines , tv and water as well. The rooms are very dated but comfortable but my issue is the smell. It's a pet friendly hotel but they need to keep those rooms for people traveling with animals. I was gagging every night at the smell of animal waste in our room. I could never locate exactly where it was coming from but it made the stay really unpleasant. The bedding is so so and pillows are hard as a rock. Our upstairs neighbors kept us up both nights with loud walking, moving furniture or whatever they were doing . Be sure to ask for upstairs. The rooms include a free hot breakfast with eggs and sausage, pancakes and waffles and coffee and fruit. I think they had oatmeal and yogurt as well. I would for sure request a room that does not have pets of you aren't traveling with them.

The suites are the perfect size. Wish we had a fireplace or a bigger refrigerator in our room but besides that the staff, the breakfast and pool was EXCELLENT! Would recommend staying here. There is also a little play area that was nice to have for the kids. Close to stores and food places and close to Yosemite(remember to pack food if you are visiting Yosemite)

We are on a road trip traveling from New Zealand..We stayed at many Best Western on our trip ..this was by far the best..great location, great service, lovely property and yummy breakfast! The staff a very friendly and helpful.

Daughter and I traveled with our well behaved dog. We were treated well with our rescue German Shephard, Ruby, who was welcome everywhere! Felt safe there. Stunning green garden-like grounds. Waterfall. Deer/fawn siting on property daily. Cleanest room ever! Nice clean heated pool/jaccuzi. Kind, caring staff. Breakfast over the top, best we've ever had. Dinner amazing, memorable, we had salmon. Saturday night entertainment was great. Accomodated us with our dog more than we expected. Dog loving staff in the restaurant and the maids.They couldn't have been kinder! I can't wait to go back there! Highly recommend it.

The room was nice a little outdated, but clean. They could use some updating. The workers were very pleasant and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was really good. I would stay there again. it was convenient for spending the day in Yosemite

The room was spacious and comfortable to stay after a long trip to Yosemite National Park. The grilled restaurant there served great food for $$, which I believe is the best choice in town. The property is well-maintained and in good shape. The hotel also has two swimming pools, one in-door and one out-door. Definitely come back again.

The street view does not give one an idea of how nice this property is (the street side is nice, no disrespect meant). The landscaping is beautiful and well maintained, the rooms up on the hill are quiet and very spacious, and the breakfast is first class. We will definitely return to this location.

After a long day of travel, My parents, my little dog Eddie, and I were greeted by two absolutely amazing front desk agents! Tracie and Andrea went above and beyond by making us feel completely welcome. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and humor. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious! The breakfast buffet was probably the best i've had in a very long time. A very well done to the whole staff and a very special thank you to Tracie and Andrea!

Staying at Best Western hotel at Oakhurst was an exited experience. It was an hour & a half drive to go to Yosemite National Park. The hotel was so clean, the staff so pleasant. We used the inner pool.

We used this motel as a base for our adventures into Yosemite National Park and loved everything about the motel. The room was great; we had 3 queen beds. The bathroom was very clean. The balcony was great to look out onto the very nice wooded grounds. We saw deer in the morning. The restaurant was fabulous. This was the best breakfast by far and better than any Hampton Inn or Springfield Suites hotel with regards to the food. We ate dinner there twice, just because it was so good. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and warm as well. All the staff were friendly and we would definitely come back in the future.We love out stay and enjoyed 3 nights at the Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn. I'd only recommend some softer pillows. The pillows are new, but a bit on the firm side for me. I felt the mattress was a bit firm for me too. But, I slept well despite this.

Nice comfortable room. A complimentary breakfast is a plus. Convenient location close to the southern entrance of Yosemite, Affordable. The Ronald Reagan shrine in the lobby was interesting. Why not? The desk clerk I dealt with

We had a room with three double beds and a bathroom, for two adults and two teenagers. It was great, just what we needed. Small kitchen was useful too. Swimming pools are small but good for a dip to cool down. Reception area were pleasant with useful items on sale. It was a good location for exploring the wider Yosemite area.

This is one of the best Western hotel we have ever stayed. The good stuff: The front desk office is very nicely decorated and filled with very NICE staff. They were very friendly. The two queen room has a good decent size, the decor is a bit outdated, it has large refrigerator and large microwave. The mattress were comfortable. The Hot buffet breakfast was awesome! Their biscuits and gravy was awesome. The staff was just awesome, they were friendly and very helpful ❤️❤️. My wife and I went to the restaurant. On Saturday they had a live music. And it was awesome. We ordered the prime ribs and the seafood pasta. It was delish! The pool site was decent, my kids loved it. The bad: The only blemish in our stay was on the last night of our stay, when we got back from Yosemite, When we enter our room, we were greeted by an awe full odor of smokes. It was the smell of marijuana. The smell was so bad within few seconds the kids was already complaining of having a headache. I went to the front desk and they were quick enough without any hesitation offered me another room and luckily it was only about 3 or 4 doors down. I made sure that they aren't going to charged us thinking that we were the one that smoked inside the room. From the comment they gave me, it looks like it happen before. The replacement room was bigger with 3 queen bathroom. We were happy BUT.... Their refrigerator was a lot smaller where I can put my birthday cake in there and the microwave was a lot smaller too. I thought it was kind of weird, with the bigger room I would have thought they would place the same size of refrigerator and microwave. Nevertheless this hotel is awesome, would we come back? MOST DEFINITELY!!! 16 miles to the south entrance or about 45 minutes driving or less... and it is close to Vons, Riley's, and other restaurants .. oh very close to Starbucks... But go to Riley's supermarket and get Pete's coffee. And one other thing they can do better is the cosmetics of the rooms and as well as the restaurant, it needs new flooring, it looks very dingy and upgrade the decorations. Other than I would most def recommend this hotel . And to the Managers... please let your staff know to keep up with their friendly service... I think that what makes the biggest difference at your hotel. Awesome Job!!!! We stayed on the 16th thru the 19th of November and we stayed in room 300 then it was moved to room 305.

This was a great place to stay - close to Yosemite but in a large enough town to have plenty of healthy food choices. The hotel is very unique - it is a large property with a variety of carvings and statues throughout. Each of the rooms has a different painting of Yosemite, even the laundry room. And the breakfast is great. Large selection and in the onsite restaurant. We highly recommend this hotel

Even though some of the rooms might be a bit dated, the decor is clean and well kept and the grounds surrounding this hotel are just beautiful. It's quite a hike up the hill, but it's just a beautiful setting.

We love the way the rooms are spread out with garden areas, waterfalls and other beautiful settings! The room was very clean and comfortable! And dinner at the restaurant (on the premises) was amazing! We were sorry that we could only stay for one night!

This spot was in a perfect location to start our exploration of Yosemite. The person at the front desk was most helpful in giving us more information regarding great places to eat and also fun things to do in the area. The inn is on the main road, close to the center of town. It is situated on a hilly site with lots of acreage and wonderful landscaping. It has numerous buildings, most having two levels, but it doesn't have elevators (they do have a section of the inn with rooms that are handicapped accessible). It has many amenities—both indoor and outdoor pools, laundry facilities, an exercise space. Our room was clean, spacious, and very private. A restaurant on the premises serves a great breakfast which is included in the price of the room.

This hotel was very convenient for visiting the south part of Yosemite. Staff was very pleasant, our room was clean and comfortable, and the park-like setting was lovely. The hotel consists of several buildings and a restaurant on-site. The breakfast buffet was very nice and served on real plates. I would stay here again if in the area.

I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. It all started with the friendly front desk when we checked in. I was travelling with my cousins and since we made reservations under different names we were placed in separate buildings. Since this is a large property that presented a logistical problem since we were travelling in the same car. The staff quickly took care of this situation and in a friendly and efficient manner was able to put us closer together. The room I stayed in was large and most importantly to me it had great lighting. There is a restaurant on site and after touring Sequoia and driving all day it was nice to just park the car and walk to dinner. They also offer a fairly broad and varied breakfast at this location. I was very pleased at my stay at this hotel and it is one of the Best Western hotels I have stayed at.
