Description

You can expect to find unparalleled natural beauty at the Best Western Annesley House Hotel in Norwich, which sits just a stroll away from the historic city centre. The hotel is located in a tree-lined conservation area just outside Norwich's ancient city walls, with plenty to do nearby. The hotel itself is made up of three Grade II listed Georgian buildings and two coach houses originally built in 1832. Their conservatory restaurant enjoys views over the water garden, with menus changing frequently, but standards remaining exceptionally high. The bar offers an array of delicious nightcaps to end your evening in comfort, if a first-class hotel is what you're looking for, you have come to the right place. Norwich Castle, Norwich Cathedral, the City Hall, and St James Mill are among some of the 12 gems of Norwich, and all less than 10 minutes’ drive from the hotel. For some scenic walks, the Norfolk Broads is right on your doorstep when staying at the Annesley House Hotel and offers many breath-taking rivers and lakes to admire. If you still have some free time, the pretty coastal villages of Cley, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cromer are only a short drive away. If you are driving to the hotel, make sure to enter both the hotels post code and house number 6 into your satellite navigation system to take you right to the doorstep.

"Shocked! But Not As You Might Imagine."
Andrew G, 12 Avril 2024

Stayed three nights arriving Thursday 4 April 2024. Our go to hotel in Norwich, but this visit began with a huge shock. We realised we hadn't been for nearly a year!! Circumstances meant we hadn't been in Norwich for all that time. Anyway, no cause for concern on our part. Everything tiptop as usual. Room, staff, food, cleanliness. All excellent. Hopefully won't be so long until we're back again.

"An absolute gem of a hotel. Great value, great staff and a great location."
BigRedWidnes, 28 Mars 2024

My stay could hardly have been more enjoyable. The hotel just feels welcoming, friendly and well run. The staff are polite and courteous and the food and facilities, whilst not flash, are just what you need. It felt like a great balance between the modern and the traditional British hotel. The bed, shower, wifi, food and parking combine to make a great value package. I would recommend without hesitation.

"Great place to stay for work trips"
Curious598988, 27 Février 2024

Very clean and comfortable bedroom, with plenty of space to work. Nice bathroom Helpful and friendly staff which make it all a very easy. Good breakfast and room service if you need it. I had a very good night's sleep

"Clean, comfy and central"
TiredTrotter, 18 Février 2024

Super clean and comfortable premises close to the main shopping area of town. Friendly attentive staff and everything you need including a bar and restaurant and free parking on site (some spaces reserved for electric car charging). Didn't like the ersatz orange juice at breakfast but otherwise the food was lovely. Probably will stay here again when I'm next in Norwich

"City Break"
paulinepma29, 12 Février 2024

Having looked through several hotels online, we finally decided on this hotel for our city break and we are so pleased we did. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff very pleasant, helpful and friendly and the location for the city centre was perfect. We really cannot fault this hotel and would definitely book again the next time we visit Norwich.

"Amazing hotel"
Kimoart, 21 Janvier 2024

Always our go to hotel when we visit Norwich. Amazing stay, no complaints. Great value for money, very friendly staff and lovely rooms! On site car parking and so many lovely period features. Great hotel would recommend to anyone.

"Norwich"
davep3652024, 08 Janvier 2024

The Annesley is a great Hotel it's in walking distance to Norwich town centre and the staff are Fantastic I have a guide dog and we are always made very welcome. I've already booked up for the same time next year 2025 .

"Very comfortable, relaxing and close to town"
David E, 05 Janvier 2024

The second time that we have stayed here and the experience was as good the second time. Very comfortable, clean rooms. Good shower and we had a sizable bathroom. Staff were helpful and all in all an excellent stay. Location is good for the city centre, but if you are coming from the rail station would recommend getting a cab

"Highly recommend"
JCB065, 02 Janvier 2024

Loved this character hotel just a ten minute walk to the city centre. Easy check in and spacious well appointed rooms with complimentary smart TV. Service was excellent throughout. Great night's sleep and great breakfast. And large comfortable bar area with competitively priced. drinks

"nice stay "
jacsho, 01 Janvier 2024

Comfortable hotel, good service and ambience, rooms clean and comfortable - nice bar and lounge area for rainier days. Quiet. Walkable to town centre. Good for a short holiday in Norwich. Restaurant and breakfast also good

"Well worth the stay"
V9423ZEmail, 02 Octobre 2023

Well appointed room, good food and facilities. Helpful staff. Good parking and close to city centre. Hotel easily accessible on the main Newmarket Road. Relatively small cost of stay puts it high on choice list.

"Lovely helpful staff at this hotel"
casamartin48, 29 Septembre 2023

We've stayed once before and it was good so decided to rebook. Service is excellent although we've not eaten here as we've always been meeting friends somewhere else in Norwich. Having said that on our last night we were tired so couldn't be bothered to got out and ordered a couple of toasted sandwiches and a bottle of wine which were delivered to our room. Sandwiches and wine were great as were the service. The Duty Manager on our stay (Emily) was lovely and looked after us so well. A lovely person with a huge personality.

"14th stay and always a joy"
Tuckstars, 26 Septembre 2023

This is a gem of a hotel. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, and ensure a good nights sleep. All the staff, from front of house, restaurant / bar and housekeeping are professional, friendly and efficient. They always make us feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is excellent and the food outstanding. When the weather is good, eating outside is lovely in the well tended patio area. There is always ample parking and it's only a ten minute walk into the heart of Norwich. This is our 14th stay in two years and we would highly recommend this fabulous hotel.

"Claustrophobic Stay"
Jon A, 18 Septembre 2023

After reading the online reviews I had high hopes for this establishment but in truth I booked it only because my usual boutique hotel in the city centre was unavailable. There were some positives, plenty of parking and the room in the coach house was clean, however that's it. The room was on the first floor with very low ceilings, awful artexed ceilings and little natural light, there was no window or extractor fan in the bathroom, which meant it steamed up quickly and remained that way, there was also no lock on the bathroom door. The bedroom was stuffy and hot despite us opening a window and leaving it open all night, which meant we heard all of the traffic passing in the night and particularly early the next morning as it overlooks a busy road at the rear. The bed was very hard and we slept very poorly, we didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there was little that is suitable for the vegan traveller. All in all a very disappointing and uncomfortable stay, which we won't repeat when we next visit this lovely city

"Business trip"
Rayjones323, 01 Septembre 2023

Excellent hotel! Very clean. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Freshly cooked breakfast was excellent, served by Diana & Shelley, who were very attentive, efficient and very friendly. There are several EV chargers at the rear which costs around 37 P per KWh hour. Free parking. We stayed in the Coach House. Large bed and modern shower. Only a 10 minute walk to the City centre.

"Weekend leisure stay"
djmaloney67671, 29 Août 2023

Warm friendly staff, bedroom very spacious, clean with all you need for a short or long stay, Excellent restaurant and bar areas with a lovely outdoor area to sit in, would recommend Annesley House for anyone visiting the area

"An excellent hotel"
Wander10045574877, 04 Août 2023

A perfect place to stay as it is very central and the staff are so welcoming. The Peruvian lady organising the dining room was so efficient and charming. The food was good, the rooms comfortable. Would certainly stay again. D Hepworth

"Another great stay"
Maxine L, 04 Août 2023

As always, it was a wonderful stay with exceptional staff. Nothing is too much for any of them. Breakfast and dinner are all cooked fresh and are enjoyable. Lovely bar area, and pretty garden to sit and relax. Rooms are always comfortable and cleaned daily. Short walk into the city is a bonus, so once you are parked, you don't have to drive anywhere. Would recommend this hotel for the service and location to the city. See you all again soon

"Great stay"
5malcolmw, 01 Août 2023

Went to Norwich to celebrate our Son's birthday. We stayed at this outstanding Hotel the staff were great from the moment we checked in.We stayed in the Garden House which is perfect. We had a lovely breakfast before we had a ten minute walk into the City centre. We will definitely stay again next time we are down to see our Son.

"Just perfect"
SisterBluebird, 25 Juillet 2023

Stayed here for one night in July. Our twin bed ground floor room was really spacious, light and airy and very clean and tidy. The staff are amazing. The restaurant and bar area are spotless and the breakfast was lovely with lots of choice which was all prepared fresh for us. Being so close to the city centre it is really handy for a day and night out. Ample safe and secure parking. I cannot speak highly enough about everything to do with his hotel. So impressed we have booked another night for October.

"Clean, comfortable and very friendly."
Gav-Robinson, 11 Juillet 2023

Excellent service, very clean with all the facilities I needed. The staff were very professional and friendly. My colleagues and I were her on a cricket tour, there were seven of us spread over 6 rooms and we were extremely well looked after.

"Great location peaceful pretty garden"
Freelander56, 09 Juillet 2023

Great location for walking into Norwich. Large car park with 3 EV chargers. Cost is reasonable at 35p per kw. Lovely garden area with a pretty well stocked pond. Our bedroom was a good size but a bit tired, iron shaped burn mark on the carpet. Some ceiling damage not very well patched up. Breakfast was excellent, in the garden room with the sound of the pond waterfall. Enjoyed the full English just the right portion size. Very efficient friendly waiting staff. Would recommend the hotel and would probably stay again if in the area.

"Perfect Stay"
Victoria4333, 04 Juillet 2023

Pretty hotel, lovely, welcoming and pleasant staff, we stayed in The Garden House which was situated in the gardens by the beautiful little waterfall and pond. Very Clean. Relaxing and friendly atmosphere, and the food was amazing, have not one negative, we walked into town which is only a 10 min walk.

"Great location"
davidfA4933OG, 30 Juin 2023

Really well located hotel within walking distance of the city centre, with a car park. Excellent breakfast and evening meals, great staff made the stay enjoyable, clean hotel. Liked the Smart TV. Overall excellent value.

"Quality, value and service in great seting"
Navigator779782, 29 Juin 2023

I had the loveliest three night stay at Annesley House Hotel. Everything was top quality. The surroundings, the staff, the room and bathroom were excellent. It's a little old fashioned which makes it all the more appealing. Breakfast served at your table, plenty of choice and a delightful lady serving who couldn't have been more helpful. I didn't get the chance to eat in the restaurant other than breakfast but the customers I spoke to were very enthusiastic about the quality of the food. I would recommend it both for price and quality and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

"Most enjoyable stay"
a1_jet, 09 Février 2023

Very pleased with our stay here. The hotel is very close to the city centre, on the Newmarket Rd just over a five minute walk from the city walls with ample free parking. The staff were very friendly, our room was large, comfortable bed, good wifi, warm, and despite being on a busy road was not noisy. The bathroom was maybe a little tired, but was clean and functional with plenty of hot water. Excellent breakfast, all ordered at the table and served very quickly. And very reasonable rates - what's not to like!

"A gem of a hotel"
oldwalksersoutheast, 02 Février 2023

This hotel is beautifully placed for a short stroll in to Norwich. We had 2 lovely rooms with loads of space overlooking the car park. They were spotlessly clean and warm. All the staff were lovely and friendly and the hotel has a wonderful atmosphere as though nothing is too much trouble. We had dinner on our first night which was very well priced and the food was delicious with plenty of choice for the coeliac in our party. Breakfast on both mornings was delicious, and again, a number of options were available. we wouldn't hesitate to return.

"A Little Late Due To Tripadvisor Review Rules"
Andrew G, 30 Janvier 2023

Legend says that The Magi followed a star to reach Bethlehem. We just follow a well-trodden road to reach our go to hotel in Norwich. This was a pre-Christmas stay of four nights, arriving Sunday 4 December. It's fair to say that Ebenezer Scrooge, before his redemption, wouldn't approve of The Annesley House. Very good value, excellent food, superb staff. During the Festive Season there is an extra magic as decorations appear throughout the public areas making it even more warm and inviting. The hotel is a short walk from central Norwich with its many excellent pubs and eateries. There is ample car parking – even Santa could park his sleigh, though I'm not sure where the reindeer could be accommodated, maybe nearby Chapelfield Gardens – and buses stop right outside as well. Highly recommended if you're visiting Norwich and remember that The Annesley isn't just for Christmas, it's for life.

"Another business trip"
Graham H, 25 Janvier 2023

I have stayed in this hotel for many years, although, not for some time. I was still recognised by the staff and treated like an old friend (even by the new staff) such a relaxing atmosphere. It was a pleasure to stay here. It makes staying away on business so much more bareable when you stay in such a fantastic hotel

"Thank you, but never again!"
TingsMusic, 01 Janvier 2023

I found myself alone in Norwich for the new year. The hotel I usually stay in was fully booked for NYE, so I booked this one for 2 nights. The online booking process was less than efficient. The system failed a few times and I actually ended up with a duplicated booking. Clean hotel and friendly enough staff, but... The receptionist at check-in handed me an envelope with the key card and said: "room 1, upstairs to the right". I got in, but after a couple of hours a coupled opened the door to my room and barged in, unaware of my presence! It turns out that I was supposed to be in room 7. The envelope actually said so, but the fact of the matter is that my key opened the door to room 1, and I'm pretty sure she did say: "room 1". Anyway... Quiet dinner. Bland prawn cocktail and main (haddock fish cakes). Good dessert. Friendly, but amateur(ish) service. I went to bed at 1am to be woken up by people arriving around 2:30 am, which then chatted up to 5am. Thin walls. By then, I had given up on the idea of having breakfast at 9:30 as booked, in order to sleep a bit longer. I was woken up again around 9:30 by the cleaning people banging doors and vacuuming. New Year's day is business as usual in this place. I immediately checked-out after just one day. They charged me a few pounds more than the price given online. And this without the breakfast I was entitled to. Worst experience ever in Norwich. It's definitely not a hotel worth staying at.

"Great place to stay friendly staff"

Diana B, 11 Décembre 2022

Reception for 50, very well catered for in attractive surroundings. The staff were very helpful throughout the afternoon. All our guests gave very positive feedback about the venue and staff. We would use this hotel again.

"Excellent stay"
gv10priory, 29 Novembre 2022

Room was clean, bed was very comfortable and the room was warm. Reception staff were friendly and made sure our room was ready earlier than the usual check in time (as we had to changeable leave for a wedding). Breakfast was served promptly and the service was excellent. Would stay again, highly recommended.

A beautiful hotel with a very caring staff who made us very welcome and were really friendly. The room was very well presented and very clean. We had a full English breakfast which was cooked to perfection, will stay at this hotel again.

"Best Western Best Stay"
TinaM1368, 13 Novembre 2022

Brilliant hotel, clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and relatives. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner both available as room service is a bonus.

"Lovely ,friendly and very welcoming feels like a home from home "
Happyfwet, 13 Novembre 2022

"Spotless hotel"
alisoncU8520OB, 13 Novembre 2022

An excellent hotel we would certainly recommend. Quiet and yet in the city centre only a few minutes walk from m&s and other shops. Cathedrals and other attractions all in easy walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful and everywhere was spotless. All you could wish for in the rooms with beautiful decor. Delicious food in the conservatory restaurant all served piping hot. Free parking for residents, with a couple of electric charging points too (a charge is made for the use of these). Cannot wait to stay again.

"Superb stay"
conbaker, 10 Novembre 2022

We arrived Sunday, left Wednesday with broad smiles on our faces as to how well we had been looked after. Everything about this hotel was a credit to all concerned, we would certainly go back, and recommend it to others.

"Possibly the best hotel in Norwich!"
kimlyon2, 07 Novembre 2022

Incredibly pleasant and helpful staff, an excellent restaurant serving expertly prepared and cooked food and a well stocked bar, our Coach House room was a nice size, spotlessly clean with a really comfy bed and dynamic walk-in shower. The little things like having a brolly bucket by the front door, well stocked, and certainly needed this past weekend as it piddled down and luxury ply toilet paper set this hotel apart. Just a 5 minute stroll into the city centre, with onsite parking makes the location perfect for a city visit.

"Overnight Stay"
Angi S, 28 Octobre 2022

Nice hotel with ample car parking and very well located within walking distance to Norwich. Pleasant and very accommodating staff. Room was a decent size with a nice size bathroom too. Internet was good.

"perfect hotel within walking distance of places of interest"
jessikalondon, 27 Octobre 2022

Beautiful house within walking distance of main Norwich townplaces of interest..Great rooms with bright decor,tv,tea/coffee ,spotlessly clean rooms and en suites with toweling dressing gowns to use whilst there. And most of all the most comfortable bed ever !Fabulous breakfast with very friendly and helpful staff.A great stay

"Great stay at Annesley House Hotel"
Tracey P, 25 Octobre 2022

Booked a 2 night stay on Sunday 23rd October. Lovely greeting by male receptionist who told us we had been given a free upgrade to The Garden House.. wow it was beautiful.. spotlessly clean, lovely lounge area with kitchenette and super king size bed on the 1st floor..so comfy it was the best 2 nights sleep in ages. Nice bathroom with power shower complimentary bathrobes also lovely and fluffy.. 2 televisions one in lounge and one in bedroom. Also private garden with table and chairs. We ate in the restaurant on our first night. We had 2 courses and both presented well and good value.. nice bar and lounge area. Breakfast on both mornings were excellent quality and service from Diana was brilliant, always greeted us with a smile and time for a chat.. second morning was busier and help from Emily of reception was helpful and both worked hard together to make sure your time at breakfast was a pleasant experience. On departure Emily again was very pleasant and we definitely will return if in the area again as it's literally 10 mins walk into Norwich City Centre so no car needed.. parking is also free at this hotel.

"Theatre trip"
fitchlea, 20 Octobre 2022

Booked here for a trip to the theatre which turned out to be a 10 minute walk from hotel perfect if weather permits. Rooms are clean with a large comfortable bed. Parking was free with plenty of spaces. We returned after theatre at 10.45 to be told the bar will be closing at 11pm but more people were arriving so the lady on reception continued to serve whilst preparing for the following mornings breakfast. Breakfast was good but ordered from a menu not a buffet style. All things considered a good choice for a weekend trip to Norwich.

"Another lovely stay"
Maxine L, 12 Octobre 2022

Thank you for another lovely stay and thank you once again for the upgrade to the Garden House it was a lovely surprise. As always hotel staff and service were excellent. Everything is spotlessly clean. Breakfast and Dinner is always good.. We enjoy our stays here that is why we come back again and again. It was lovely chatting to Diana the friendly waitress, Can't wait to see you again soon.

"What an excellent hotel"
B6184YUsharonc, 10 Octobre 2022

We stayed for 2 nights recently. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and polite. The room was a good size and very clean. Breakfast was excellent. And all for such a reasonable price. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough

"Wonderful Stay"
TrevorB08, 09 Octobre 2022

This is one of the most friendly hotels I have ever stayed in. The suite was spotlessly clean, and so well equiped. As many reviews have said, this is also a very momely hotel. Breakfast was extremely good.

"And Again"
Andrew G, 03 Octobre 2022

Stayed here for 4 nights arriving Sunday 11 September 2022. Our go to in Norwich for many years. Friendly staff. Good food. Comfy rooms. Always a pleasure to stay here and only a short walk to city centre. Happy to continue praising this hotel.

"Nice venue great staff"
1905nick, 25 Septembre 2022

We booked a surprise 80th Birthday for my Mother here, as it was close to the theatre in Norwich where she was seeing a show , and it was easily accessible for the 15 of us who were attending. From start to finish the service we received was excellent . Parking is easy and plenty of it . The room my wife and I had was large, clean , modern well equipped and had a nice big en-suite with a big shower . Check in was easy. There was a large party of us eating dinner there in the evening, and everything we asked for, needed help with or needed was catered for . The staff here although thin on the ground were absolutely brilliant. Always on hand, working externally hard to ensure things went as smooth as possible . We paid £131 for an executive double room which included a very good breakfast . 9 of us stayed at the hotel overnight and we were all really happy with the service we received . If you need a base in Norwich or if you want to hold an event for a fairly large gathering . For Value for money service cleanliness and a half decent meal and breakfast I would throughly recommend here.

"Great hotel. Definitely recommend!!"
Roving31859153865, 25 Septembre 2022

Great hotel at a great price. The overall feels homely and welcoming upon first entry. Also the room itself was clean and well equipped. The mattress was comfortable and carried an abundance of pillows to choose your favourite. Recommend!

"Lovely hotel and staff"
Lorraine E, 14 Septembre 2022

Lovely little hotel in a good position only a five minute walk to the ring road and then into town. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good breakfasts. The dinner menu is okay for a couple of nights stay, the food is good but not as much variety as you can get in town.

"Hidden Gem"
Tuckstars, 13 Septembre 2022

We have visited this hotel on numerous occasions over the past year, as our daughter is at university in Norwich. We highly recommend this hotel; it is a charming period property of great character, beautiful gardens, exceptional staff, ample parking facilities and is located only 10 minutes walk from the city. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the food first class. We have stayed in rooms 31, 33, 43 and had the privilege of being upgraded to the Garden House on our last visit, which made our time here even more special. All the rooms however are excellent. What usually makes a hotel special, is one or two outstanding staff. In this hotel, all the staff are outstanding; professional, friendly and efficient, this is a rare find and a ‘hidden' gem of a hotel. We always look forward to returning to this special place.

"Weekend in Norwich"
FrancaS505, 04 Septembre 2022

We booked this hotel for a friends birthday weekend and we weren't disappointed! The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was very tasty with plenty of choice and the staff were efficient and very friendly! Easy walking distance to the town centre! Would definitely recommend!

"Friendly staff, good food."
kevinhadlow, 27 Août 2022

Hotel was conveniently placed just outside the main shopping area of central Norwich. It was easy to find, parking was provided and the Hotel itself is a period property with all the charm you would expect. The restaurant was next to reception and provided quality food and great serice.

"Great Hotel for a City Break"
dwightj7, 23 Août 2022

Went to Norwich for a night out with the family. Hotel was in a great location and the room was excellent. I was only there for one night so I didn't use the restaurant or the bar. The room was very clean and large enough for a couple. Will book again for my next trip to Norwich

"Good location for access to central Norwich"
Michael B, 20 Août 2022

Large car park, Room was a fair size, everything worked, but carpets starting to look old. Restaurant was good, with fair choice of dishes, and reasonably quick service, but only a controlled( By booking Appts) number of guests allowed in at a time, far less that the number of seats available. Breakfast time also needed to be booked, and despite checking in before 4pm I could not book breakfast after 7.45 until 8.30..Receptionist on check in was also the waiter in the evening, so limited number of staff on duty.

"Place and staff were superb "
Gary P, 15 Août 2022

Had a 2 night stay here recently, could not fault anything, room was clean and tidy, food excellent, but what made this a 5 rating were the staff ,nothing was to much trouble, friendly, happy and courteous a credit to themselves and Best Western

"Very convenient location, very fresh ambience"
Richard S, 11 Août 2022

My wife and I spent a couple of weekend nights at this hotel and were delighted with its freshness and convenient location. There was plenty of parking and yet it was easy to walk into the centre of Norwich. Our room was comfortable and reasonably spacious. The breakfasts were generous, well cooked and tasty. We had one evening meal and that was adequate rather than exciting but Sunday night meals in hotels are seldom spectacular. We certainly won't hesitate to return.

"A very comfortable stay"
bluebird421, 04 Août 2022

I have just returned from a 2-night stay at this hotel close to the centre of Norwich, and intend to return on my next visit as it was very comfortable and I was well provided for. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was exceptional. I stayed in Room No.42 in the Coach House which was exceptionally large for a single traveller, but the cost was worth it. I would strongly recommend the hotel restaurant for an evening meal as it has a varied menu and is reasonably priced if you take a 2 or 3-course deal, and there is a lovely water garden. There is plenty of car parking available, and they let me leave my car there for the day after checking out. Highly recommended.

"Graduation trip"
SaraDyer, 16 Juillet 2022

I stayed one night when visiting Norwich for my daughter's graduation. I booked a single which was small but had everything I needed, including a very comfortable mattress and fan! Staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was lovely. Perfect location for exploring Norwich so would definitely return.

"Wonderful Experience!"
Syd_Sabourin, 26 Juin 2022

Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to spend the night in Norwich! My husband and I stayed on the second floor of the coach house for two days and our room was large, perfectly clean, and very comfortable. The rain shower and lux king bed were highlights for us, as well as the lovely decor. Breakfast was delicious and made fresh to order, including the gorgeous pastries. I also can't say enough about the incredible service we received during our stay! From the front desk to the dining room and lounge, everyone was so friendly and extremely helpful. They even went to the trouble of putting a bottle of Prosecco and bouquet of flowers in our room as a honeymoon gift, in coordination with my in-laws. We will absolutely be back in the future!

"Greta Place Great Location"
hlboone500, 24 Juin 2022

Highly recommend this Hotel, the rooms are first class, the food is superb and, the staff are exemplary. We would especially like to thank the Breakfast Waitress and the lady on reception who, we came to refer to as 'Her Efficientness'. What a great place we will be back.

"Idealy situated for the City Centre"
O4207XDelainec, 22 Juin 2022

Lovely hotel, we stayed for one night, our room was a good size, nicely decorated facing the road but we didn't hear any traffic during the night. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is a short walk from the City centre, 10/15 mins, and there is a bus stop nearby. If you have an electric car this can be charged up free of charge to the side of the hotel, plenty of parking. Although there is no air-conditioning a fan available. We would definately stay here again.

"Small and Stylish"
Oakie_Dude, 21 Juin 2022

I spent 4 nights in June at Annesley House during a short break in Norfolk. The hotel is well maintained and has a high standard of cleanliness. The bar and dining area are pleasant, with the dining area overlooking a garden and small ornamental pool. Our standard room was a reasonable size but with a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable and all of the furnishings looked well maintained. We ate dinner at the hotel twice and also ate breakfast. The food was of high standard and the service was efficient and friendly. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful.

"Excellent hotel for City break."
grahamw622022, 21 Juin 2022

We always use this hotel when we come to Norwich as its on the edge of the City Centre and so can walk to most places. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about local services. Will return again very soon.

"Return visit"
Maxine L, 16 Juin 2022

Another return visit, as always clean and comfortable rooms. Staff as always are friendly and professional and provide an excellent service with a smile. It is nice to see after the pandemic that things have returned to normal. Can't wait to return in a few weeks to enjoy this all over again. Thank you to you all

"Idela location for city centre"
matthewlQ7015QQ, 09 Mai 2022

nice comfortable hotel with good free parking ideal for city centre. I didn't eat in the evening but the breakfast is good and there are a few bars within easy walking distance. The bar is for consumption with food only but Norwich is a friendly middle class city and its safe for men/couples to walk around after dark. It would be safe for women but the Americanisation of our popular culture has diminished this.

"Running Out Of Titles!"
Andrew G, 16 Avril 2022

Been using this gem since 1995. A three night stay this time, arriving Friday 8 April 2022. Upgraded to room with a spa bath -- great for massaging the feet after walking around Norwich. Usual positives. Very clean. Wonderful staff. Excellent food. Nice garden area. Parking. Easy walk to city centre. Big thumbs up.

"Overnight Stay"
suelZ1569QS, 10 Avril 2022

This is our third visit here... we always like to book here as it is in walking distance of Norwich City Centre. We can always rely on a relaxing and very clean environment to stay.. The staff are always friendly and helpful too.. We always enjoy breakfast as there is a good variety of choice and it is cooked to order.

"Excellent little hotel"
Michael S, 29 Mars 2022

The hotel is very convenient for Norwich city centre being within a reasonable walking distance. Despite being on a main road it was quiet and with good parking. The hotel was very clean and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, it had a family atmosphere and the team made you feel very welcome.

"Third visit"
41natnat, 26 Mars 2022

Another lovely stay at this hotel, room was very clean and staff efficient and friendly. We didn't stay for breakfast this time as we had to leave early, but on the previous two occasions it was great. As usual we will be back when we're down to visit family!

"Excellent stay"
FCMWright, 25 Mars 2022

The hotel is very clean and the towels nice and soft. The staff were very friendly but professional and looked after us well. The dinner and breakfast were very tasty. The electric car charging point was useful.

"Friendly and comfortable, good location"
sandi f, 15 Mars 2022

Lovely old building with character, friendly staff and comfortable bed. The breakfast was tasty with a lovely garden view. Staff helped me upstairs with my suitcase and were generally veru cheerful and happy to help.

"Dated hotel"
paullarge1234, 13 Mars 2022

Dated hotel. Noise from other rooms and the road. Every time someone flushed the toilet, ran a bath or flicked a light switch you could hear. The hotel is on a main road with windows that do not shied the road noise.

"A nice place to stay"
daviddQ3357SK, 09 Mars 2022

Great breakfast and friendly staff and happy to arrange a taxi into the city center. Not entirely sure the price as was a gift however I cannot imagine it was overly expensive. The room was comfortable and clean. Lovely Garden, it was a shame it was raining so much!

"Easy to drive past in the dark"
B9730YJpaulf, 04 Mars 2022

Its quite a grand place to stop! a large main mansion and a separate mansion, house both bar, restaurant and guest accommodation. Its a little quiet and lacks any real atmosphere maybe some background music might help in the bar and lounge in particular. The service was a little quirky and the staff were friendly and efficient. My room was Okay although the bathroom was dated for the price tag, could do with a refurb for sure.

"Another great stay"
Maxine L, 02 Mars 2022

We had a nice weekend break with friends, as always staff were excellent and friendly. Had a really nice stay. Our friends were impressed with the hotel and have a base to stay when they return to Norwich. We will be returning later in the year. See you then.

"Quick trip"
karenjP8447OI, 27 Février 2022

Fabulously friendly and excellent facilities in this comfy hotel. Stayed in coach house. Food good and all staff extremely helpful and happy. Great place to be based for a stroll into town for restaurants and shops. Hubby was doing a track day at Snetterton.

"Fantastic hotel - clean, excellent service and staff, delightful food."
Shelley H, 23 Février 2022

I have now stayed a few times for work, and every stay is excellent. The staff are attentive and professional. The food is lovely for both dinner and breakfast. I'm coeliac and they make me feel like I am in safe hands, they are excellent with allergies. The room standard is lovely - the decor is cosy and the rooms are clean. The cost of bed and breakfast is really reasonable and always comes up as the best option. Thank you particularly to the gentleman who works on reception and in the restaurant, you always make me feel welcome and looked after, and thank you to the lovely lady who works in the restaurant for helping me with seeing what I can have on the menu and excellent service. Fantastic all of you thank you - I would never stay anywhere else in Norwich!

"Nice hotel, a little dated"
iandI7005FX, 11 Février 2022

This hotel is a short walk from Norwich city centre (about 10 minutes), and is a lovely old building. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I was a little frustrated because our room was large with big windows, but the decor was very dated (think late ‘90s dark brown and pale blue). It looked recently redecorated, so either they have stuck to an old colour scheme, or they are aiming to please an elderly clientele. The bathroom was large, but had an avocado toilet and wash basin, and sheets of plastic wall covering on the walls that look about 30 years old. So much potential unmet! But comfortable and pleasant.

"lovely hotel, friendly staff and close to city."
Departure66513748870, 24 Janvier 2022

Always have a great experience at this hotel..... always made very welcome and 5 minute walk to the city. Breakfast excellent. Very well presented hotel with lovely garden areas. would definitely recommend this hotel

"Excellent in every aspect "
David E, 02 Janvier 2022

Stayed here over the New Year and thought it very good. Excellent location as close to town centre. Room was clean and well set out, good comfortable beds and good shower. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful and would definitely return to.

"Comfortable, clean and convenient"
jacsho, 02 Janvier 2022

We stayed in the Coach House - room was spacious, clean, comfortable. The hotel staff were welcoming. It's a 10 or so minute walk from edge of city centre so very good base for a visit. It was nicely decorated for Christmas

"A great place to stay"
Cath B, 25 Décembre 2021

We stayed here to visit family under strange circumstances known as Omicron wave. Because it was such a precious chance to see grandchildren we'd never met, and all of my stepchildren after many months of separation, we wanted to minimise our risks. So we stayed in at night, eating in the restaurant. Such a surreal experience- an almost deserted bar and restaurant, but nice decorations for Christmas and quiet music. The staff were absolutely great. Pleasant, friendly and cheerful. Our daughter joined us for one meal and breakfast. Fish and chips was tops from the menu in the evening, but the standout was the excellent breakfasts. We had room 12 on the ground floor because of my arthritis. It was very quiet at night as the bathroom not the bedroom faced onto the road. Very comfy bed and massive walk in shower. Thanks to the staff for soldiering on and I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

"Relaxing & Welcoming"
O4447PFjohnh, 22 Décembre 2021

Recently refreshed decor achieved while retaining comfort & efficiency. Set back off main road in attractive, period building; only10 min walk from city centre. Recommend you try it out, relaxing in the bar in the evening.

"Christmas visit to The Annesley House Hotel"
Anna W, 19 Décembre 2021

An excellent hotel in every way. Staff and accommodation were first class. Walk into Norwich centre is about 10 minutes. Perfect. Love this hotel. Decorated beautifully too.. very festive . The breakfast was excellent…everywhere was clean and well presented. Will be back for sure.

"Anne's let House Hotel"
sisterpritch, 13 Décembre 2021

We stayed here again (our 3rd time) and the accommodation was lovely. Central location to walk into Norwich. There was an issue with the heating in our room, which staff tried to fix. They provided another portable heater, whilst awaiting a plumber. Upon checking out, in view of this they only charged for 1 night instead of two. We will definitely return again

"Norwich Shopping Trip"
brianneal2021, 08 Novembre 2021

Very friendly and helpful staff who made us feel welcome from the start. Our room was warm and comfortable with tasteful decor. The hotel is a short walking distance from the city making it perfect for a shopping trip.

"Lovely Stay"
Kay P, 03 Novembre 2021

Lovely hotel, very friendly, exceptionally clean, great location. Love the choice of a quick getaway breakfast, continental or full English. travelled alone but felt very safe, the hotel was quite and I had a comfortable night sleep

"Always brilliant"
jayne64, 01 Novembre 2021

We always stay whilst visiting our daughter and Grand children. The Coach House room 43 is our preferred room although we have stayed in others. It's an easy walk into the town so no need to drive. Plenty of parking space. It's always clean and tidy and all the staff are friendly. The restaurant serves excellent meals on lovely hot plates! Have recommended it to other family members. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Thank you as always to Shellie, Diana and Barry.

"Autumn break"
andibradley3, 30 Octobre 2021

An ideal location just 10 mins walk from city centre. Comfy, well equipped rooms, excellent food in restaurant and a very friendly and efficient team of staff. Nothing was too much trouble for any guest.

"Good location"
Stephen H, 29 Octobre 2021

There were a couple of hotels Tripadvisor selected once I'd searched. Glad we picked this one. Nice place, nice room and very nice staff. Had a meal on the first night which was good with drinks in the lounge to follow. The hotel location was good with a short walk into the city centre. We hope to come back before Christmas. Thanks again.

"4 Day Break in Norwich"
garywright2014, 11 Octobre 2021

Good friendly staff and very efficient. Close to city centre and in walking distance to all the attractions such as cathedral, castle and shopping centre and market. Breakfast and evening meals were of a good standard but not fine dining.

"VERY TIRED HOTEL"
reiver59, 10 Octobre 2021

Like so many British hotels of its type this is a throw back to the 1970s and rather like an older person's home. The buildings are nice from the outside and the parking and garden are excellent. Inside it needs drastic modernisation or restoration. Bathrooms are jaded and disappointing at this level. Decor awful. Staff are fine and location good. We didn't eat here as this is Norwich with its outstanding range of pubs and restaurants.

"TIred and not all that clean"
durham05, 03 Octobre 2021

This was OK and we had a deluxe room with a spa bath. The thing is that it wasn't all that clean, and the decor is very 90s. Looks tired and dated. Given what we paid to stay here, we expected a much higher calibre of accomodation. Situated on a main road and only a few minutes from from the city centre. Food was good, and staff friendly (although one member of staff was a jack of all trades, cleaner, barman, waiter, and manager in one). Wouldn't rush back.

"Excellent stay"
70annp, 03 Octobre 2021

Excellent stay at the hotel. Only stayed one night but everything was very good. Room very clean, lots of tea and coffee in the room, always good. Very tasty dinner and a good breakfast. Hotel only a few minutes walk from centre of Norwich which is just what you need. Had no problems at all.

"Great for City visit"
J2143X, 02 Octobre 2021

On a very busy road but an easy walk to the City centre and our room at the back of the hotel was quiet, comfortable room with all we needed. Staff friendly and efficient. Pleasant garden for a pre-dinner drink

"last minute booking"
Trevor H, 29 Septembre 2021

as always it was a pleasure to stay at Annesley House, always welcoming and friendly. Now that things are returning to some form of normality I will be staying more often. it saves me a 2.5 hour round trip home when I am in the office for a couple of days.

"lovely stay"
karinah2014, 27 Septembre 2021

recently stayed as a group of 8 people for a cycling break ; the service was very warm and friendly , would highly recommend . The breakfasts were of high quality , using the lounge bar in the evenings was like home from home , could do with sticking pink fizz in the bar though >liqueor coffees were fabulous

"Lovely hotel in Norwich"
darrylr561, 26 Septembre 2021

Very comfortable hotel, convenient for Norwich city centre with excellent parking facilities and a ten minute walk into the city. Nice character with a collection of old buildings which have been tastefully modernised giving a comfortable experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. If visiting Norwich would certainly recommend this as a good base to stay.

"Exceeded my expectations"
SoozySoo2021, 26 Septembre 2021

The location is really convenient (a short walk from the city centre), my room was extremely comfortable and well equipped, the courtyard garden at the back of the hotel is pretty and tranquil, the staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful, the quality of the breakfast was excellent, there was plenty of parking space - it was all I'd hoped for and more. I will definitely stay here again.

"Relaxing stay"
sjolive, 17 Septembre 2021

Really enjoyed 6 nights at this hotel. It is not the most trendy looking but I really loved the traditional style, super clean room, comfy bed and a pretty little garden with pond that you could sit and have a coffee or read by. Easy walk into the city. All the staff I met were friendly and welcoming, from the reception to the cleaning team who always had a ready smile. I was visiting friends so decided didn't end up using the restaurant but both breakfast and dinner smelt great each day and would have been happy to eat there. And I was silly excited to be able to take a bunch of the sweet grapes home with me, cut from the 75 year old vine spanning the roof of the walkway between two buildings! Off to buy cheese to have with them!! Thank you Annesley team, would love to come again.

"Excellent location for the city centre"
ianski1510, 13 Septembre 2021

Stayed 5 nights in a twin bedded room (room 1) a good sized room with a bath/shower at the front of the hotel which overlooks Newmarket road. There was a bit of road noise with the windows shut but it was not too intrusive. The location was excellent as it was a 10 minute walk into the city centre. The car park was big enough to accommodate all residents. Check in process was easy as it was done online prior to arrival and the reception staff were very helpful. The restaurant where breakfast/evening meals were taken was a light and airy room with guests well spread out. There was a good choice of hot or cold options available for breakfast and the evening meal menu was sufficiently varied to accommodate all tastes. The quality of food was very good and service was excellent.

"Excellent stay"
UpthestagsSheffield, 13 Septembre 2021

Good room, good breakfast, very clean. Residential area with two excellent pubs, with good food, nearby - Trafford Arms and The Eagle. Also two decent looking restaurants - The Goulash House and The Grill House (?), although didn't try them. 20/25 minutes walk to the centre of Norwich. Pretty regular buses.

"Overnight stay"
ferndownkate, 07 Septembre 2021

A lovely room on the ground floor, a comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent breakfast and light meal in restaurant. Really good shower, soft towels and a warm bathroom. No complaints, but attending to the water damage to the ceiling would mean an excellent rating for the room

"First Time In A Year"
Andrew G, 31 Août 2021

Our go to hotel in Norwich. Stayed 4 nights arriving Sunday 22 August 2021. First visit in a year due to Covid etc. All's well with the world. Excellent food; brilliant staff; clean tidy rooms. Well worth seeking out if you're going to the Fair City.

"Very nice stay!"
Martina C, 31 Août 2021

I spent with my partner the bank holiday week end in the end of August. Few staff members helped me out to organize a small surprise for mi partner 30th birthday during dinner. The room was clean and bright, everyone was very friendly, the environment was cozy and very well located to the main Norwich attractions and MUST SEE places in Norwich. The next time I'll come and visit, I'll definitely book a room there again! Highly recommended!

"Tom Jones weekend "
T7704AGphilg, 19 Août 2021

Just returned from our weekend trip to Norwich. We had a great stay at the Annesley House Hotel. Although the rooms were a little dated, they were comfortable and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the dinner very good. The staff were very attentive and helpful. A big shout out to Diana who took our breakfast and dinner orders, lovely lady. Thanks again.

"Garden Room Guest review"

Lovely 1 up 1 down with kitchen containing dish washer fridge cooker everything you might need. Television big with a good picture settee can be made up into a bed upstairs lovely bedroom and bathroom

"Ought to be better"
Adrian L, 17 Août 2021

The Annesley is tatty around the edges without any overall character to compensate. It is neither immaculately clean nor well thought through. Housekeeping delivery is inconsistent The restaurant, our first experience of the place, is terrible. Its truck-stop menu comprises poor food. We had ceaser salad with dressing from a jar, overcooked fish, and bought-in soup and ham pate. The couple next to is ordered burgers, sent both back, and walked out! All that said, the bed was comfy and the bedding soft.

"An enjoyable overnight stay"
Dave T, 16 Août 2021

Stayed for the one night whilst in Norwich for the start of the new football season. Very good communications prior to my arrival. Decided to have dinner at the hotel which was a good move, as both the food and service was excellent and this continued at breakfast also.

"Girlie Getaway"
jackiecollins1961, 08 Août 2021

A lovely hotel and the garden was beautiful. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. I have no negatives about my stay. Service/Food/Cleanliness - every box ticked! Thank you and will not hesitate to recommend your hotel.

"More than enough"
Colin_Threlfall, 30 Juillet 2021

Still under covid restrictions, the hotel was more than I could have expected, good service all round. The room was very presentable and the food was very good. Staff were ever helpful and helped with our stay in Norwich. Well recommended.

"Great Hotel and Location"
DNP6, 22 Juillet 2021

We have just arrived home from a great 3 night stay at the Annesley House Hotel. We had booked for 4 nights, but due to having to get home unexpectedly, we left this morning. The reason I mention this is: The hotel were very good about this and accommodated our needs and deducted the 1 night from our bill. This was really good of them, considering the hospitality industry is still struggling. The hotel is really lovely and it is only a 10 minutes walk into Norwich. Very peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle! The staff were fantastic. Friendly, helpful and hardworking too. The room was great. Very clean and had everything you needed, including a fan, which was really needed with the hot weather. The breakfast was really good quality and cooked to perfection. We ate at the hotel one night and again the food was really good then too. We loved to sit in the garden and have a cold beer before our evening meal or before our walk into Norwich on a night. It is very pleasant and relaxing out there listening to the water fall and bubbling pond. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and if we ever visit Norwich again, we will definitely choose Annesley House. The hotel is very Covid safe and the staff are constantly cleaning. Thank you everyone.

"Great Location near the Town Center"
Nigel S, 22 Juillet 2021

The Annesley hotel is a great hotel very close to the town center of Norwich, the food is excellent and the little off shoots to the rooms is great extra space, we stopped in the coach house which was brilliant It has a nice cosy lounge and they adhered to social distancing in the restaurant I would definitely stop her again for a 3rd time.

"Exceeded my epectations!"
Philip M, 12 Juillet 2021

Everything went well. After having spent an awful and awfully frustrating 2 nights at the Premier Inn in Norwich I was forced to find another hotel when my business trip was extended. That turned out as being fortuitous. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room clean, well equiped and more than adequate. Breakfast was exceptionally good and included a first rate cafettiere of coffee. A second coffee was provided when asked for. Everything went well. "Fautless"
Frontera2, 10 Juillet 2021

I travelled to Norwich to join a couple of friends who were staying for a few days. Contact with the hotel prior to arrival to arrange dinner reservations and for a late check out was really easy and friendly. Hotel is well located just a short walk from the city centre, but there's also a regular bus service that stops right outside ( the green line goes to / from the railway station ) Wonderful building, check in was warm, friendly and really efficient. Room was well appointed with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in for a long time, no noise from neighbouring rooms our public areas. Restaurant was great value for money at £20 for 2 courses and £24 for 3, really good quality and friendly staff. Breakfast was great too. The grounds of the hotel are lovely with a wonderful garden with water features, was lovely sitting outside in the evening with a drink. Absolutely cannot fault this hotel in anyway , it's exactly what a good hotel should be and I've no hesitation in recommending. Am already planning a return visit. Thanks to all the team for a wonderful break.

"Our go to hotel in Norwich"
mmaher220856, 05 Juillet 2021

Spent three days at the Annesley House visiting family and enjoyed our usual comfortable stay. Quite a bit of redecorating since our last stay has freshened up the bar area and lounge to make them light and airy. Our bedroom was well decorated and furnished to the normal high standard we have come to expect. Although there is no fine dining menu at the moment you wouldn't realise as the food is of a high standard and reasonably priced - I can certainly recommend the lamb. And what can I say about the staff ? Friendly, efficient and hardworking despite the current restrictions and staffing levels they are experiencing - an absolute credit to the hotel. Looking forward to our next visit.

"Relaxed Affordable Luxury"
Angela B, 28 Juin 2021

We were new to the Annesley House Hotel during regular visits to Norwich but this will now become our hotel of choice. This lovely old building offers gentle luxury at an affordable price and with excellent quality of food and service. Four of us stayed here for two nights in two rooms and really felt at home. Our room was a large, ground-floor space, traditionally decorated and very comfortable. The beds in particular were gorgeous ensuring a good night's sleep. We had a couple of meals here and each one was good quality and good value. Staff a the Annesley House Hotel are well-trained, professional and pleasant and really made our stay seamlessly enjoyable. Dinner here is particularly pleasing - good value, plenty of choices and with that swift and helpful service. We'll be back - and are already looking forward to it.

"Much needed break"
Maxine L, 19 Juin 2021

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and each time has been lovely. The hotel has been freshened up and looks vey nice the bar area has been re decorated and looks nice and fresh. The breakfast and dinner was very good as usual it was nice to see Diana again along with new members of staff. We sat out in the garden after returning from our days out before dinner and this was very relaxing with the waterfall and fish. We look forward to seeing you all again later in the year.

"Wonderful small hotel on the edge of town"
DavidK3877, 19 Juin 2021

The Annesely hotel is a gem in Norwich - it's about a 15-20 minute walk from the train station or center of town. The property is divided into several distinct sections, each with its own charm. We stayed in the delightful Garden House, with the bedroom upstairs and a lounge/kitchen area downstairs. The staff is great, friendly and helpful. Kudos to Diana who worked the dinner and breakfast shifts and was extremely helpful and cheerful despite the busy meal times. We will definitely visit again as the hotel is quiet and welcoming.

"Relief after lockdown"
ge0ffshep, 17 Juin 2021

Another very enjoyable stay at Annesley House and so nice to have a semblance of normality after a lengthy lockdown. Guest safety is a clear priority with very high level of cleanliness evident. As with previous stays all staff were friendly and helpful and able to accommodate my wife's dietary requirements without fuss. Special mention to Lily in the restaurant. A relatively new member of staff doing a great job.

"Ideal location"
Anne S, 31 Mai 2021

Lovely hotel. Only about 15 min walk into town. Rooms were quiet, considering it was on a main road, slept really well. Clean comfortable room, staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was superb and you can have whatever you want. Nice gardens to sit in when the weather would be nice. I would highly recommend staying here.

"Amazing staff made everything easy"
OrbSaps, 07 Décembre 2020

As the title says. It was my first time staying in a hotel while.working away and the staff made the experience as easy and comfortable as possible. An absolute credit to the company and can't recommend enough. Considering the situation with covid, the staff maintained appropriate measures at all times while managing to go above and beyond expectations. Room was good, service was great!

"Family visit"
Takeaway20, 07 Novembre 2020

Stayed in the family room. What a treat ! Gorgeous separate building to the main hotel over looking the garden. Beautifully decorated modern and clean. Lots of space set over 2 floors. Ideal if travelling with older kids or 2 couples. Very relaxing warm and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking on site and close to city centre.

"Break away"
keithheap, 30 Octobre 2020

A lovely hotel, close to to Norwich city. Within 5 minutes was in the city centre. Ideal for shopping trips or sight seeing of the city. Room was lovely with the sloping floor and adequate parking. Restaurant and bar great selection and service.

"As it should be"
ivagroves3, 30 Octobre 2020

My first visit to this hotel and it was very very good. We stayed in the executive room which was in the separate building and it was beautiful. Spacious room, huge bed, very comfy mattress and masive bathroom. Bathrobe, slippers provided. We dined both nights and the food was excellent. Lamb shank was delicious and fish and chips just perfect.

"Comfortable Norwich stay"
SimonB6223, 23 Octobre 2020

I liked this hotel - it's in a good location, less than 10 minutes walk to the city - yet it was quiet. The ample and free on site parking provided was a real bonus, it was so nice not to have to think too much about where to leave the car - or what parking it might cost. The room was clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definately return to this hotel.

"Ideal Base For A Visit To Norwich"
526clanger, 11 Octobre 2020

Ideally situated for a visit the City of Norwich. Situated a 10 minute walk from the town with plenty of parking. Rooms are in various buildings within the grounds. The buildings are old so floors are a bit uneven and creaky but that is all part of the character. The breakfasts were really good with plenty of choice. The bar area was cosy and the prices were comparable to pubs. Evening meals were, again, well cooked and there was a good choice. All the staff were friendly and helpful with anything asked of them. We will definitely stay here again when we next visit.

"Visit to Norwich"
rich194949, 10 Octobre 2020

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very conveniently located hotel - central Norwich is walking distance. Parking is ample. Being an older property our room was quite large which we liked. It was clean and comfortable. Although on a main road it's not noisy and is quiet at night. The bathroom could do with additional shelving or a small cabinet in which to put personal toiletries. However there was a jacuzzi bath which was a nice bonus we did not expect. Two things really stood out for us (1) the staff and (2) the food. All staff were welcoming, courteous, pleasant and friendly as well as being professional in their work. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. There was a very nice atmosphere in the hotel (2) the food was very good and nicely served especially the evening meal. Dishes are freshly cooked. We would gladly stay here again and certainly recommend this hotel.

"Mid week weekend"
TOMASNorfolk, 04 Octobre 2020

We stayed for a 2 night mid week weekend. The location for the city is perfect, just 15 minutes and you're there. Plenty of parking. We were in a ground floor room at the front, but very little traffic noise. The room was comfortable, and spotlessly clean, as was the rest I'd the hotel.Nice bar and lounge area. Breakfast was good, with a good selection, and very hot! The staff Wes all very friendly, and efficient. Would definitely return and recommend. Vey COVID aware.

doggonedavid, 30 Septembre 2020

We booked here last minute, had good service from Barry on the phone when I booked and when we were there, also a lovely lady covering reception on the 19th and 20th September, very helpful, the star was a lady called Diana who served breakfast, nothing was too much trouble, the hotel was clean and the breakfast was very nice, we had a lovely room in the white building next door, the only slight downside was that you could hear people in the room above moving about, which could be annoying, but luckily enough for us, they only stayed the first night, we would definitely stay here again, tip, you dont need to use the underpass to get to town, you can just cross over the road near the hotel and there are other eating places nearby if you turn left out of the hotel, so no need to go to town!

"Two night getaway to Norwich."
Henryka, 24 Septembre 2020

We found this hotel on the internet and the fact that it's just outside the town centre with ample on site parking was just what we were looking for. We stayed in the Garden Room, a separate building next to the main hotel. Absolutely fantastic. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. We did not eat in the restaurant but it looked welcoming.

"Family Break"
bedshammer, 21 Septembre 2020

Very convenient for the city centre this hotel is very attractive, the staff are friendly and efficient and they have made every effort to be Covid safe. Our room was comfortable and we got a good nights sleep in the king size bed. The only downside was that the room is in need of a little TLC, especially the bathroom that was looking very tired. Other rooms allocated to our family were very good. All in all a good stay and will be back.

"Overnight stay"
41natnat, 20 Septembre 2020

Lovely hotel, room very clean along with other hotel areas. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was very good. Free parking and an easy 10minute walk into Norwich town centre. Would definitely stay again.

"Convenient for Norwich, but quiet"
LynnGuernsey, 20 Septembre 2020

Following the sale of our favourite hotel at Thorpe St Andrew, we explored hotels nearer to Norwich for this year's holiday and Annesley House sounded lovely. In fairness, there's little to fault - but there's also nothing that really makes this hotel special in the way that some others are. It is clean, the meals are nice, the room was well appointed, and it's close enough to Norwich to either walk in (10 mins) - alternatively, there's a bus stop right outside. Indeed, when you list the attributes it all sounds ideal. And yet...... possibly because of CV19, it just seemed to lack character and was simply a bit too impersonal for me.

"Long overdue return visit"
ge0ffshep, 17 Septembre 2020

Returned with my wife for a 4 night stay after a gap of 5 years. No regrets. High standards are being maintained despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic. With the steps being taken to ensure safety of guests we had no worries in that regard. Restaurant menu choice for dinner is, understandably, more limited than on our previous visit but there was still enough variety to satisfy us. With regard to the lack of housekeeping this wasn't a problem. If anything was needed, such as fresh towels, all was quickly arranged with a request via Reception. Special mention must be made for the service provided by Duty Manager Emily and, in the restaurant to Diana. With the benefit of exceptional weather to visit the glorious Norfolk countryside we wont leave it another 5 years before we return again.

"4 night stay"
Maxine L, 13 Septembre 2020

This is our second stay at the hotel. We arrived early on Sunday and was allowed to park up, we walked into the town which is only a short walk away. We came back at 2 and checked into our room. We had a comfortable room in the Walsten House building. Due to Covid 19 restrictions our room was not made up each day or the towels changed but that was not a problem to us. We did ask for clean towels at reception and was given them instantly. The bar area was open and you could also eat in there due to the social distancing in place. The food was limited but still enough to choose from we had a meal in the hotel for the four nights that we stayed and was not disappointed. The breakfast menu was also very good. Staff were very good and friendly as they were on our previous stay. The hotel is ideally situated for the walk into the city centre and the city has an excellent bus service for visiting other places which we made good use of. We will defiantly be returning as it is so relaxing. Well done Annesley House.

"A top pick"
wholeworldt, 08 Septembre 2020

We wanted a nice hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Most hotels standards seemed to have slipped during the Covid situation, but this one had recent, very positive reviews. We booked an executive room on the B&B rate. We normally travel around the UK but decided to stay locally. This hotel is a gem and virtually on our doorstep. Everything we saw was immaculate. The attention to detail was superb. Our room was large, had a king size bed which was very comfortable, tea and coffee facilities, good size TV and an area to eat. The icing on the cake was the jacuzzi bath. We took breakfast in the room as we wanted to avoid public areas as I cannot wear a mask. The food was very good. There is a vineyard in the glass area near reception which is a lovely touch. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels in London but this is as good as, if not better than most. We will return.

"Top Notch Again"
Andrew G, 31 Août 2020

Stayed four nights arriving Sunday 23 August 2020. Good information about Covid response by hotel, and hopefully not too long before we can once again see the staff without masks and visors. Everything spotless. Food fantastic. Staff, as always, pleasant, helpful, and chatty. Been coming here, off and on, for 25 years. Hopefully will continue for many more years.

"Mixed bag"
eddie h, 31 Août 2020

The location was good as the city centre is in walking distance but there was a bus stop across the road and the bus services in Norwich are very frequent. Bit expensive for a short journey but much cheaper than getting a taxi. Managed to get parked at the hotel every day so this was good. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was good (except for the first one we had?). We went for a mix of continental and cooked breakfasts though the coffee was too weak. However the latte was much better so we stuck with that. We ate there a couple of times and food was OK though there are restaurants in the vicinity. Our room which was at the front of the hotel was a bit small and the 2 single beds were too soft. The room is in need of a makeover and the bathroom was a bit dark and dated. The shower was not that powerful though not too bad. Because of the fear of Covid-19 the rooms were not cleaned over the several days we stayed there. Towels / toiletries can be obtained by asking at reception. Would not be great for a long stay.

"One Night Stopover"
Tarquers73, 30 Août 2020

On arrival our room wasn't ready due to the late departure of the previous guest & the time required to complete the deep clean however, at least you know Annersley House are taking cleanliness seriously! Whilst we waited for our room, we were offered a complimentary drink, so not all bad! I cannot fault the staff for their approach to maintaining social & safe distancing and I take my hat off to Barry for appearing to single-handedly steer the ship & crew from the moment we arrived, until our departure...I'm sure Barry doesn't actually sleep! Thanks for looking after us Barry!!!

"Our favourite Norwich hotel"
TheHonorOakBloke, 16 Août 2020

We've stayed at this hotel a few times already. However, this was our first post-COVID 19 trip so we were a bit apprehensive. We needn't have worried - the staff did everything to ensure we had a safe and enjoyable stay. Restaurant choices were a bit limited - I guess you can put this down to conditions imposed by the pandemic - but the staff were as friendly and welcoming as ever, and both public areas and rooms are tastefully decorated and clean.

"A wonderfully welcome friendly hotel."
Peckhamg, 15 Août 2020

Despite being situated off a main road, this hotel provided a wonderful relaxing evening and night's sleep for my family. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and attentive. Covid 19 awareness and precautions were good. Due to the government's latest scheme, food was 50% cheaper. The rooms were clean and cosy. If staying again, would probably upgrade to a higher standard of room. The executive room was definitely worth spending the extra £10.

"Lovely Hotel"
Greeni75, 11 Août 2020

We booked this hotel at short notice, with an executive double room for two nights. I mentioned it was our anniversary during our stay and upon entering the room found 2 small bottles of Prosecco on ice, and two glasses with a note wishing us a happy anniversary, which was a really nice gesture. My wife found this extra special as I don't drink so she got to drink them both. The room was of a decent size in Walsten House, with a large bathroom and a spa bath. Unfortunately there's no air conditioning and we stayed on the hottest weekend of the year, so could've done with it. There was a fan in the wardrobe, which did help overnight. Every step was taken by the hotel to ensure that measures were in place to follow government guidelines during the Covid pandemic, with hand sanitiser gel on the entrance to all buildings, requesting guests wear face coverings in the corridors and reception area and staff wearing the appropriate PPE. We had evening meals at the hotel both nights, 1st night room service and the 2nd in the restaurant. All meals were great, and reasonably priced. During our stay the hotel was full, which lead to the carpark also becoming full. The 2 staff members we had any interaction with were both very friendly and welcoming, which was really nice. On the whole we enjoyed our stay, but, my only slight disappointment was that, on both mornings I woke with bites on my ankles. As my wife didn't have any such issues, she doesn't believe that I was bitten in the room, but I'm not so sure. I was going to raise this issue with a member of staff as we checked out, but there wasn't one around, we just had to leave our room card in a box at reception.

"Well Organised and welcoming"
TraceyC2216, 23 Juillet 2020

We had a four night post lockdown break and stayed in the Garden Room. These guys really have it sorted in relation to a COVID safe environment as well as making you feel like you are on holiday. Shelley is a force of nature and runs everything in a calm and effortless manner. Diana was lovely at breakfast and I would really encourage people to stay in this well run hotel.

"Fantastic little hotel"
Paul_D_Hill, 11 Juillet 2020

Welcoming staff, spotlessly clean throughout. Small but very comfortable rooms, with one of the best nights sleep I've had in a hotel in a long time. Very clean and spacious bathroom. No bar, restaurant or full breakfast due to COVID-19. But the breakfast bacon and egg bap was perfect with a lovely coffee.

"A great hotel within walking distance of the City"
BellaPeterborough, 18 Mars 2020

A great individual hotel that is located within walking distance of the City. Free car parking. A lovely freshly made breakfast. Rooms are well equipped and clean. Efficient check in and check out. Slightly expensive though.

"An enjoyable stay"
mdcarroll, 12 Mars 2020

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel was very clean and at most a ten minute walk into Norwich. We only ate breakfast here, once Continental and one full English, it's obvious they use really good quality ingredients here, it was delicious and the lady serving in the morning was both friendly and efficient. We liked the thoughtfulness of providing a 'quick breakfast' which wasn't as extensive, but cheaper than the continental for those who were in a hurry. Would definitely recommend

"Birthday Break"
ChrisC46, 10 Mars 2020

First weekend break here for about five years-we were here for my wife's aunt 90th -but we were reassured by standards of friendly helpful professional service were still evident. familiar faces of Shelley Miller unbelievably in residence for a silver jubilee plus great help with the in-house wifi from Barry and friendly disposition of Amelia plus all the staff generally combined to ensure a great stay in one of the few weekends when the weather was halfway tolerable.Breakfasts were lively and well catered and attended but the dining room was not well attended on either Saturday or Sunday evening which was a shame given the wide choice and flexible menu arrangements given to us on half board terms;Diane on Friday was a delight as a server and made sure our meal and experience went very well. Our room 12 was well appointed at the back very quiet and had the great advantage of a wet room shower which was much appreciated by my wife still recovering from a badly broken wrist. We need to return in the summer.

"An excellent stay in every respect"
hopkinsx2, 04 Mars 2020

This was one of the best experiences of a business stay I have had for a very long time. The hotel was light, attractive and immaculately clean throughout. I had been upgraded to a larger room without extra charge and my request for a very quiet room was more than satisfactory. The staff were lovely and very helpful - helping me out with an urgent printing problem with minimum fuss and very quickly. The setting in Norwich with a peaceful garden and patio area, with the dining room in a sort of very pleasant orangery, all added to an excellent experience. I would heartily recommend this hotel.

"Weekly home from home "
Rman1, 26 Février 2020

Stayed here one or two nights most weeks now since November 2019 and have to say it's a cracking little hotel, and a great example of Best Western. Shellie and the team always ensure that you get well looked after and the 2 AA rosette restaurant is a gem, with great food from a talented kitchen at a very competitive price, in a not too formal bistro style conservatory restaurant. Bedrooms are very comfortable and bathrooms benefit from a drench head shower. The hotel is within easy walking of Norwich city centre on the edge of the ‘golden triangle', so is highly recommended for any business or pleasure trip to Norwich.

"Very kind staff and excellent food"
Kate S, 26 Février 2020

Annesley House hosted the reception after my grandfather's funeral. The staff were sympathetic and supportive from booking to the reception itself. The food was excellent (especially the fish goujons) and was excellent value for money. Thank you to the staff for your kindness

"Another Stay, Another 5"
Andrew G, 25 Février 2020

Stayed for three nights arriving 16 January 2020. Been using this hotel since 1995, and there's a very simple reason I / we keep returning. Well situated. Good value. Excellent food. Excellent staff. Go and find out for yourselves.

"Excellent Hotel - close to city centre"
Phillip S, 14 Février 2020

Located in a quiet area within 15 minute walk of the city centre, the hotel is ideal for business for leisure trips to Norwich. 3 large houses have been converted into the hotel - giving large spacious rooms with high ceilings - and a relaxing environment in which to work. The restaurant provides good food and service - and the hotel has two comfortable lounges in which you can relax and read or meet friends. Certainly worth a visit - and i hope to return

"Norwich city break"
Maxine L, 10 Février 2020

My husband and I arrived Friday 7th February at 10.30, we went to reception to let the hotel know that we had parked up and was told that a room was ready for us. We quickly unpacked and walked into town, it was so lovely and historical with loads of points of interest. Short walk from the hotel within 10 minutes, after a whole day in town we decided to eat at the hotel which was a good choice as the food was great. We had a drink at the bar, hotel staff were very friendly and polite. The following morning we had a lovely English breakfast which was nice and hot and bought over to the table. We had another nice day in town and managed to find good pubs to relax and watch the football and rugby which made my husband happy. We walked back to the hotel and had another superb meal. We asked if it was possible for us to stay another night as there was bad weather on the way ( which we was glad of as we were having such a nice time) so we extended our break for another night. We really had a lovely time, the hotel was lovely and the staff friendly. Hotel room was comfortable with a nice big bed and a big bathroom. Food was good all round, out of the three nights we were there we had a meal at the hotel, it was so relaxing and cosy we will definitely be back for another visit and would highly recommend this hotel.

"Very comfortable excellent food"
193jackied, 29 Janvier 2020

Stayed 2 nights on business . Easy car parking , very comfy bed, good shower. Ate two dinners and two breakfasts and enjoyed all. Very friendly and professional staff. I will definitely stay again if working in the area.

"You will not be disappointed"
Richard N, 26 Janvier 2020

Our forth or fifth stay here. Lovely hotel. Helpful, courteous staff. IIRC, Spread across five small buildings. This means that you are not troubled by an endless stream of late night revellers disturbing you traipsing through long corridors and slamming doors. Perfectly situated a few minutes from the shopping centre. Despite being at a point where two busy roads converge, we were not troubled by noise(we stayed in the "Garden House"). I will add that there are traffic lights within yards of the hotel, which effectively reduces the risk of "Boy Racers" roaring past. The restaurant offers a good, and thankfully not too broad a menu(Do a few dishes but do them well!). The food was excellent, well presented, and no more expensive than some of the high street restaurants. Will definitely return.

"Great hotel"
philg774, 03 Janvier 2020

3 nights perfect stay, lovely comfy room Great location less than ten minutes walk to city centre Food on offer was all very nice"............... Bar and lounge comfy and peaceful Good breakfast selection Very helpful staff

"Great hotel...warm and friendly staff... room are great !"
clarki2, 02 Janvier 2020

Very warm friendly welcome as always. We stayed in the coach house part of the hotel and the rooms are very spacious and very well presented. There is a great bar area and dont miss the garden and pond area at the back ! Breakfast was great and this is served in the lovely conservatory area. Plenty of parking and a ten minute walk to the Castle / Centre. Highly recommended.

"Lovely venue in an expensive area"
SueWoodley, 21 Décembre 2019

I found this hotel charming and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. My only downside was that I was in a room on the ground floor of the coach house and was awakened by the first occupant to ride on the floor above, with the outside door rattling my room door whenever anyone left. Having said this, I would not hesitate to stay here again, I would just be a bit more picky about my room. The ceanliness and welcome from the staff really stood out here, a great Great a Western hotel.

"Fine dining, fine hotel"
mmaher220856, 01 Décembre 2019

Spent another couple of days at our go to hotel in Norwich visiting family. A lovely hotel with character, not a sanitised modern chain with no soul. Staff as friendly and efficient as ever. Had the skate wing from the fine dining menu, absolutely delicious. Looking forward to our next vist already.

"Perfect"
number1leadman, 28 Novembre 2019

This was our 4th visit and it seems now to be our annual thing. We had one mishap one year where we got dripped on from the faulty waste pipe from the bathroom above. A quick visit to reception and we were moved. Since then all our stays have been spot on. Spacious room with a big comfy bed. Perfect place to park the car and walk into the city. We have booked again for next year.

"Norwich city visit"
Mike B, 16 Novembre 2019

Nicely situated with adequate parking. Easy to walk into town or use the bus stop which is right outside. We had a nicely equipped, spacious room and the breakfast was excellent. Would certainly stay here if we were to visit Norwich again. Thanks to all that made our stay a pleasant time.

"Superb stay"
josiedarm91, 11 Novembre 2019

Clean, comfortable room. Perfect stay and great staff and lovely breakfast. Stayed in the coach house and it was great. No noise issues at all even though our room was right by a main road. Would recommend to anyone

"Everything you need and excellent breakfast"
OneHundredAndThree, 03 Novembre 2019

For a work trip this hotel was perfect. I stayed 3 nights in Walsten House (separate from the main building). The rooms are decorated pleasantly. Not to everyone's taste but neutral enough not to offend and the beds are extremely comfy. All amenities are offered and a few unexpected ones! Breakfast was outstanding. Never have I had such nice mushrooms cooked by anyone other than myself. The waitress who served each morning was very friendly and it was a pleasure being greeted by her. Service was fast, even during the busier times. Checking was easy and hassle free and check out was equally as efficient, with receipts etc prepared in advance of my arrival at the front desk. WiFi mostly worked at reasonable speed with minimal interruptions. Overall excellent stay for what I needed. One of the better Norwich hotels and worthy of visits for both business and leisure.

"Relaxing time in Norwich"
Quest295775, 01 Novembre 2019

Exception hotel with excellent location to city centre. Rooms, restaurant all exceeded our expectations. Improvement of Wifi an absolute necessity, for leisure and most definitely business user's. Would recommend to friends and family.

"Distinctly Average "
Bracebridger, 30 Octobre 2019

The hotel comprises of several period detached properties lying close to the southern edge of the city centre. From the decor, to the breakfast offerings never as average been more appropriate a description. Disappointing for such an established brand, much prefer the sister hotel up the road.

"Convenient - at a price"
ojo963t, 20 Octobre 2019

A very convenient hotel right on the edge of the city (15 mins to city centre walking) - clean, good facilities , reasonable food (breakfast) but price fairly high price for the area. Free parking included.

"Good hotel"
716SteveJ, 07 Octobre 2019

I stayed for 1 night at the Annesley House Hotel, had to wait a little for checking, not sure if this is the norm or not but the bar area was quite busy. The guy on the bar also checked you in. I was upgraded to a lovely room it was in a block 4 rooms separate to the main building. Room was excellent everything you need for a night away. Food was good also I ate in the bar, nice choice and quality. Breakfast was also very good freshly cooked. The hotel is just a short walk from the city centre. Plenty of parking available.

"Very good restaurant"
Nutty16, 03 Octobre 2019

Stayed here for a few nights. Location about ten minutes walk from centre of Norwich. Room was spacious with a great shower, always heaps of hot water. One drawback was noisy floorboards in the room above ours which kept us awake every night. The breakfasts were good and the dinners were excellent. I would stay here again but perhaps in a different room.

"A Very Convenient Place to Stay in Norwich"
johnhowgate360, 10 Septembre 2019

We stayed in The Garden House, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts are very good as is the food in the evening. I would give this hotel 4 stars for service, food, convenience and staff. There are frequent buses into the City just outside so the car and driver can have a rest! There is a dessert grape vine in the covered walkway between the 2 main buildings and we were told that we could take a couple of bunches home, which we did and very enjoyable they were. All the staff are helpful and pleasant and a particular "Thank You" to Barry for his help and advice on places to visit and bus times. A most enjoyable 4 days.

"A Complex od Lovely Houses"
ron1440, 06 Septembre 2019

I stayed here one night while visiting friends in Norwich. The hotel is comprised of several houses, each distinctive and lovely. Rooms were adequate and comfortable. Stairs up to room, with luggage could be an issue for elderly. Stacey, the Manager was quite pleasant and responsive when we had an issue with electrical conversion. She actually lent us her personal convertor. Breakfast in the atruim garden, cooked to order, was scrumptious. I would stay here again.

"Great place to stay within Norwich"
Susan B, 05 Septembre 2019

Lovely hotel, well positioned for easy access into city centre, All staff were courteous and friendly. Breakfast and dinner experiences were very good, 5 breakfasts and two evening meals taken and no complaints what so ever.

"Superb. Spotless. Great food"
D U, 03 Septembre 2019

The Garden House within the hotel grounds is a detached 2 storey one-bed cottage, with private patio. Fully fitted kitchen with small dishwasher. The place was spotless. Staff were lovely and helpful. Food in the hotel restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent - we didn't try their lunches. Dinner was expensive at £21 for 2 courses, but worth it. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was because smoking was allowed in the gardens and ashtrays were on the tables immediately outside the open dining room doors and windows, and also on the garden table below our bathroom window.

"Great return visit"
mrssnips, 02 Septembre 2019

Lovely hotel have stayed here before. The rooms and spotless and very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location and the staff are friendly and helpful. Two downsides 1. Plastic cups in the bathroom - lets the room down and bad for the environment. 2. Really poor quality veggie sausages for breakfast.

"And So It Continues..."
Andrew G, 01 Septembre 2019

Stayed here for three nights arriving 15 August 2019. Been here many times, and running out of things to say. Fantastic food. Wonderful rooms. Great staff. Sums it all up. Easy reach of city centre on foot, or bus stop right at the entrance.

"Really lovely overnight stay and fanastic service"
purplewomble, 28 Août 2019

Really lovely hotel gem! I only had an overnight stay on business, but the room was lovely (room 12). Spacious and well appointed, beautifully decorated with a fabulous walk in shower and large bathroom. We also ate in the hotel restaurant both in the evening and breakfast and the staff were superb and the food rally tasty. The car park is small, but we managed to get a space. The garden is really pretty and there is plenty of room to eat al fresco. There also aren't many other hotels I know with a real grape vine growing in the corridor! Overall we were really impressed with this stay and for such a reasonable rate. We will be back!

"Excellent value"
MershamKent, 25 Août 2019

We have regularly stayed at this hotel for several reasons. It is an easy walk to the city centre, the car parking is good and the breakfast is excellent. Every time we stay we are very pleased with the service and the cleanliness in the room

"Pleasant hotel near to the centre"
Ian J, 17 Août 2019

I would certainly return here on my next visit, as it is well situated, and has a pleasant bar and small lounge. The restaurant serves an excellent breakfast and a good evening meal, deserving of 4 stars. What holds it back is that the decor is rather dated, and more thought needs to go into the bedrooms. The room I occupied [the garden house] had a nice shower but there was no soap dish in it, there were no power points for an electric toothbrush or razor, and the safe [a nice touch] was so low as to be virtually unseen at first and difficult to operate. The suite would be ideal for those seeking self catering as there is a cooker, cutlery, oven and fridge, though there is a somewhat forbidding set of 13 stairs to the bedroom above. If I could I would have rated this 3 and a half stars.

"Would stay again"
markdriscoll22, 16 Août 2019

Lovely cosy, comfortable hotel in a really nice area not far from the city centre. Room was really good, nicely decorated, bed nice and soft which I love, met my mum next day for a really nice lunch in the beautiful conservatory. In fact all public areas very nice, like a real effort has been made and plenty of Georgian character. Staff all friendly and efficient, will stay next time I visit mum.

"Annual ladies trip"
Ladywndermere, 07 Août 2019

Travelling from Manchester , ten of us stayed here for 3 nights This is an excellent value for money hotel especially sharing twin bedded rooms On the first evening we were politely asked to give our order while enjoying an afternoon drink in the bar. However we waited far too long for our starters and on making an enquiry we were all given complimentary sorbet as it took a long time for the Mains to appear! Something had clearly gone wrong Others were being served and we just waited! However after many apologies the food was good and served in the lovely conservatory and our bill was , at no request by us , deducted by 40% We did eat there on the third evening with no such problems after enjoying pre dinner drinks in the well maintained garden. The “breakfast” lady was a delight ,all the rooms had been updated and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Very convenient for buses , just opposite, and only 10 min walk to centre. Thank you Annesley House for a lovely holiday

"Nice place to stay"
359maartenl, 28 Juillet 2019

I went here on a last minute booking. The hotel seems very lovely and classy. The reception is a bit futher away in the main building. The interior of the buildings is very nice. The staff is very kind and welcoming. I got a free upgrade on the room, which was very kind of them. The room was so nice, very spacious and the bathroom was nice and clean! The rooms are situated in separate buildings. The hotel is tugged in between 2 kinda busy roads, so you hear police and ambulance every know and then, but it doesn't cause any disturbance. Breakfast was nice as well. Overall a great hotel to stay!

"We love this Hotel!"
MSulsh, 25 Juillet 2019

Stayed at this hotel recently for a two night break. We have stayed here before & were very happy to return. We were warmly greeted at check in and decided to order dinner that evening. Our twin room was clean and spacious on the ground floor. We both enjoyed our evening meal on both nights. The menu is comprehensive and when the food arrived, it was delicious and beautifully presented. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Breakfast each day also offered a very good choice, and most enjoyable. We hope to visit again soon and would highly recommend!

"Great place to stay in Norwich "
Emzlucy, 21 Juillet 2019

Would highly recommend staying here if you're planning a trip to Norwich. The location is in walking distance from the city centre which makes it really convenient (especially for shopping). We stayed in the garden house which was amazing (included a small kitchen and lounge area downstairs and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs), very quiet with no noise from the road and an extremely comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. With free parking on site, this was an added bonus being so close to the centre where most parking on the streets is permit holder only. I will be returning when I next visit Norwich.

"great position for visiting Norwich"
hwarwi639463, 19 Juillet 2019

quite old decor in style; we were in a separate older building to the main one, and grounds were smaller than appeared on the pictures, but it was very clean and quiet with an excellent comfortable bed, and we had an excellent restaurant meal in the evening

"Great hotel"
Anne A, 17 Juillet 2019

We stayed there earlier in the year and found our room very comfortable and the staff were very polite and we had great service. We are returning again in September as we enjoyed our stay very much. It is a short walk to the town and a short drive to Wroxham where you can hire a boat or go on a trip down the broads.

"excellent"
likeforlike, 08 Juillet 2019

An earlier review called this hotel 'dated' if dated means a warm welcome, comfortable and homely rooms, excellent service from efficient and friendly staff, mouthwatering food ,peace and quiet, pretty surroundings, and being made to feel special, then Annesley house has it all. Do we recommend? yes very much so will we stay there again? yes, and looking forward to it.

"Great Hotel"
Passenger65786424369, 29 Juin 2019

Excellent hotel ideally placed for the city, only 10 minutes walk, also breakfast was spot on. The annex we stayed in was very quiet really restful experience. The bar was also well stocked with beers, ales and spirits.

"Excellent stay as useual"
778barp, 21 Juin 2019

The welcome was warm, the room was cool, the staff are always first class and the food was excellent. Travelling around as I do I always look forward to staying here and have no trouble recommending these lovely people every time!

"A welcome change from the inpersonal, large chain hotels"
Maureen T, 19 Juin 2019

A lovely, homey-feeling hotel, especially welcomed when travelling alone, The dining-room overlooking a lovely garden, along with excellent food, was outstanding. The two lounges were very comfortable, one with a small bar.

"Great Stay"

"well managed comfortable hotel"
Happiness59725247861, 13 Juin 2019

A comfortable clean well managed hotel in an attractive garden setting just outside the city but with easy access on foot or by bus. to the city centre. Food good and staff helpful and friendly. Only drawback was steep narrow stairway in the part we were staying in.

"Not bad, but could be better. "
Surrey-Diner-101, 02 Juin 2019

Stayed here a few times, I've stayed in various rooms from a single, which is totally shocking tiny room, to a few doubles these are OK but the rooms need a bit of attention in my opinion, especially the bathrooms they are a little dated.

"A little old fashioned, but comfortable and convenient."
willeysworld78, 01 Juin 2019

Stayed for one night to go to an event at the football ground. Well placed for central activities, very comfortable if slightly old-fashioned in decor. We stayed in Walsten House, separate to the main hotel but it was comfortable and very spacious. Overall we were happy with our choice,

"Beyond expectations."
Explore29750986729, 21 Mai 2019

Great staff, Good food and comfortable rooms. Sound proofing between rooms needs improvement and the decor is tired, nonetheless the quality of the staff make up for these deficiencies. Food pretty good and reasonable quantity.

"Lovely “Manor House”"
Mary S, 20 Mai 2019

Several buildings make up the Annsley House compound. Ours was a quite old building with rather old fashioned bathroom, but all and all a comfortable room with french doors leading to a little patio. Adequate continental breakfast. Hotel is a bit out of the way for easy access to the old town though on a bus route.

"UB 40 concert"
Voyage58025386343, 19 Mai 2019

Great small hotel, very cosy with a modern twist. Our room was upgraded to premium on arrival at no extra cost. The room was large and the the bathroom very large, very clean and good decor. We only had continental breakfast but found that ample with plenty of choice, and only 10 minutes to walk to the city centre. If in Norwich this hotel is a must.

"Wonderful food and such a relaxing hotel."
Roguez1984, 14 Mai 2019

The Annesley is such a relaxing hotel to stay in, from the quiet, comfortable bar and lounge to the conservatory style restaurant with it's magnificent food. Barry & Shellie (among others) are excellent staff members and really help to make you feel at home upon arrival. The rooms are all different which adds to the individuality of the property.

"Very Welcoming"
BFlow, 11 Mai 2019

On arrival we were upgraded to the Garden House! Amazing little house! Very comfortable and our own little outside area too. Staff were wonderful and always happy to help. Breakfast was a fab selection and very enjoyable. Evening meal was great too. very central for the town centre. Easy walk or on bus route.

"Amazing Service"
jd_4278, 29 Avril 2019

I cannot say nothing more than the service was excellent and staff was friendly. Emily was so helpful, anything I asked she was on top of it. Also the food was delicious. Considering this was my first visit to the UK, I will definitely come back to the Best Western Annesley Hotel. I also recommend anyone visiting Norwich should stay here and have a pleasant stay as I did. Also the hotel is located about 10 minutes away from the city. I pretty much walked the whole town. I loved every part of my visit to Norwich.

"Lovely relaxing hotel"
Saucy2017, 07 Avril 2019

We stayed for the weekend in April. Lovely small Georgian hotel. Staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They made us feel very welcome and relaxed from the start. We were upgraded to a room in the coach house which had a lovely modern bathroom with a rain shower. Very comfortable bed. The restaurant food was of a high standard and again very relaxed. The chef was happy to adapt dishes if requested. Service in restaurant was good and staff were very helpful. We had evening meal and breakfast. Easy walking into town. The garden will be a lovely place to relax in the sunshine.

"Excellent friendly Hotel with easy Parking and great food."
Paul H, 01 Avril 2019

Great rooms, friendly staff, restaurant food excellent. Attention to detail is outstanding and the outside area is charming too. Easy to park. Breakfast is up there amongst the best I have ever eaten too. Cannot fault the place. Beats any other similarly priced Hotel in Norwich hands down.

"Well located, friendly hotel - reasonably priced."
Anne P, 28 Mars 2019

Good location - 10 minutes walk to city centre - bus link outside. Comfy beds and food in restaurant very good. Came to explore Tombland locations - Mousehold Heath, Ketts Heights etc- fabulous views of the city from these and the great Britannia cafe. Didn't need to take the car out - lots of buses to explore the city and beyond. Will be back again for another break at this very popular hotel.

"Comfortable, friendly hotel"
Carole S, 21 Mars 2019

The hotel is formed of a number of period houses next to each other and our room was large and comfortable. We were meeting friends who are Norwich residents for an evening meal and the food did not disappoint. The service was friendly and efficient throughout the hotel. An added bonus is extensive free parking and a very frequent bus service into the centre of Norwich, stopping right on the hotel gates.

"Good all rounder at decent price"
fishpast, 17 Mars 2019

Enjoyed our stay here. Slept well in quiet room with very comfortable big bed. Friendly and pleasant staff who were happy to help and not make a drama out of my mistake in the booking process. Spotlessly clean.

"Lovely Hotel"
Julie S, 16 Mars 2019

Arrived early but were able to check in. Let us use car park for as long as we wanted, even after check out. Very friendly staff through out. Room lovely and clean. Hotel bar and lounge area very comfortable. Breakfast really good. 10 minute walk into centre of Norwich. So glad we chose this one.

"Excellent stay"
RockAndBaguette, 02 Mars 2019

Me and my mate stayed here for 2 nights while we were going to a gig and checking out Norwich. Great chilled out hotel with a small bar, restaurant and a lovely room. Bed was comfy and breakfast was varied and sorted us right out. Great service by the two really friendly ladies on reception too. Hotel was awesome, as was Norwich. Will be back!

"Great place"
Scenic443887, 28 Février 2019

Really clean hotel, great food. Staff brill. This is a hidden gem and I will return again. Location is literally a 10min walk from city centre. Food in the restaurant was really good steak and Guinness pie. Great stay and I will return and highly recommend.

"Running Out Of Snappy Titles!"
Andrew G, 24 Février 2019

Used this hotel many times. Been going since 1995. This time we stayed three nights arriving Friday 8 February 2019. Upgraded to room in annexe with a spa bath. Thank you! Excellent for the feet if you've been walking a lot!! Everything great, again. One of the best breakfasts going. All the staff wonderful. Everything very clean. Used restaurant on our last night, and as on previous visits, it was excellent. Short walk into town.

"Lovely building in a great location and with parking."
Martin G, 16 Février 2019

Lovely building in a great location and with parking. Great location for city with easy parking. Very clean, roomy establishment. Huge comfortable bed. We didn't use restaurant. Room service veggie burger was very good but the not-fully-cooked chips spoilt it a little although I ate mine but wife not - Not enough to formally complain. All said if we went to Norwich again we WOULD stay and probably try out the restaurant. The lounge area looked most inviting but our rushed one night didn't permit us to sample.!

"Nice clean and convenient! A little boutiquey!"
I919MQstephenh, 11 Février 2019

This is a charming hotel; this is my second stay. The rooms are snug but comfortable. The breakfast is great. The staff are friendly. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Norwich and is well-priced for the quality and convenience!

"Norwich City break"
46peggyp, 08 Février 2019

Having read Tombland, I wanted to get a feel for the places referred to in the story. Annesley House was well situated to easily walk into city centre and bus stop nearby should you prefer to walk less

"Fantastic staff"
Culture02052930896, 28 Janvier 2019

Cannot reccommend this hotel highly enough, fabulous breakfast but the stay was made so pleasurable by nothing being too much trouble for the staff on reception. We arrived early and our room was ready phone charger provided as I'd forgot mine and I am awaiting arrival through the post of my hair straighteners which I left in the room when checking out. Breakfast is delicious the only moan I could have was the room was small and very warm but we opened the window and I did sleep as the huge double bed was so comfortable as were the pillows. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again should I get the chance to visit lovely Norwich in the future

"Quiet understated excellence."
ollyorla, 06 Janvier 2019

Excellent guest reception with a sense of ease and calm. Booked last minute on arriving in Norwich.Bedroom clean warm and quiet. Bed very comfortable. Decor and level of cleanliness excellent. Dining room service quietly excellent. A sense of top professionalism oozed throughout in the service delivery. Would highly recommend.

"One night at the Nutcracker"
WanderlustJay8, 24 Décembre 2018

Me and my partner stayed here for one night to go and see the Nutcracker as it's only about a ten minute walk away from Theatre Royal. Check in was quick and we were directed to our room in the Coach House. We stayed in an executive double which was much bigger than expected and even had a spa bath which we didn't realise - shame we didn't get a chance to use it! The rooms are traditional and old fashioned which we expected and actually quite liked, although they could probably do with a bit of a touch up. The only criticism is that there wasn't an iron and ironing board in the room as advertised so we called reception to get one. This wasn't a problem but they just need to amend in their room descriptions. The bar area is so cosy and relaxing. Great Christmas decorations and the general decor really gave it that snug library feel and it was a great way to relax. Always a bonus when there's Aspall on offer too! The only downside for me was breakfast. The food was good, but the choice not so much. They had the usual cold buffet choices which was fine, but the only hot options were a fry up, sausage sandwich or bacon sandwich. I'm not a big fan of fry ups etc so it would have been great to see a lighter option such as eggs benedict or something as a different option. Friendly staff, great location and hotel - would stay again!

"Quiet, Comfortable and Friendly "
R2603BXjohnk, 24 Novembre 2018

Stayed one night for work. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was a little dated looking but very warm and comfortable. Arrived late and was offered food before the kitchen closed. Food was excellent too!

"Norwich City visit"
Kenneth W, 22 Novembre 2018

My wife & I have stayed @ Hotels & Inns around Norwich but wanted to be close to the City center this time. We were not disappointed with our 3-night stay @ Annesley house. We were allocated room number1 which was a twin, bit disappointed to find the beds were a twin but sat together with no space between! good sized room. The mattress was too soft for my liking but my wife was happy on her bed. Bathroom really needs updating but met our needs. All staff met were polite & very pleasant. We ate in twice & were happy with our meals. Liked the conservatory style dining room. Breakfast was good. Car parking was good. Our room was @ the front but we were not bothered by any noise from the car park or road even with the window open. Very easy to walk into City. Can recommend & would stay again.

"Excellent service, beautiful hotel, comfortable stay"
DebbieV1984, 19 Novembre 2018

Stayed in November for a shopping trip to the town. Had a beautiful room just off the main building. Both the room and the main hotel area were nicely furnished. Excellent facilities and a nice sparkly clean bathroom with great water pressure and hot water. Comfy bed and slept really well. The hotel is a short walk from the town centre. Very helpful friendly staff. Highly recommend this hotel.

"Lovely stay in excellent hotel with outstanding staff."
Venture01262891151, 16 Novembre 2018

I was staying in the hotel alone which was a strange experience as I was visiting family who were in the process of moving house so they were not able to offer me a bed. I couldn't help but feel a bit lonely however the warmth of the staff and their genuine friendliness was very soothing. I felt that all the staff were pleased to see me again in the morning and that made it easier to be there alone. When I had a problem with noisy guest in the room above me I was offered an alternative room and given time to consider if I wanted to move. This helped me to make the decision to move rooms.

"Great location,great hotel"
philg774, 02 Novembre 2018

3 nights in Norwich with sister in law and husband could not have been anymore enjoyable Stayed in two lovely rooms in adjacent building, both rooms were very warm ,beds were huge and unbelievably comfortable We ate in on all three nights due to the great English weather Every meal was faultless, the restaurant area is nice and spacious and the lady serving us was very friendly and helpful This is a lovely hotel ,in a great location, less than 10 mins walk to the main shops Clean, very comfortable with good bar and lounge area as well as a nice restaurant and most importantly staff who want to make your stay pleasurable Thank you for a lovely break

"Lovely ,friendly and very welcoming "
Happyfwet, 27 Octobre 2018

"Perfect hotel in a great location"
Lauren W, 14 Octobre 2018

Stayed here with my finance on the 5th October, and it was absolutely amazing for £85. Hotel is very well kept and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. Room was very clean, comfortable bed with lush pillows. 5/7min wall to chapelfield. It was lovely. Def recommend.

"Annesley House"
anthopkins46, 08 Octobre 2018

I stay at the hotel on a regular basis and have always had excellent service. The staff are friendly and helpful with their local knowledge. I can thoroughly recommend staying here. Although on the outskirts of the city, the city centre is in easy walking distance.

"Weekend Break"
esmeLondon, 08 Octobre 2018

The location was perfect for walking into town. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and well looked after throughout. Our executive room was very pleasant. Breakfast very good. We had a very enjoyable couple of nights.

"Lovely hotel in a good location"
SubarStaffs, 30 Septembre 2018

I stayed for two days in an executive single room. This is a three star hotel and at that level it is really good. Located within easy walking distance on the city centre it is nevertheless reasonably quiet even though it is on one of the main roads into Norwich - my room was on the road side of the hotel and didn't cause me a problem. The room was well fitted out with a comfortable bed, nice furniture, flat screen tv with freeview channels, tea and coffee making stuff, iron and board. Bathroom was small but had everything you need and the mixer tap on the bath/shower does actually change temperature by degrees, brilliant. Staff were all very good at what they are doing and the food was certainly a good three star standard. I would definitely stay there again.

"Comfortable with good restaurant."
groundhog51, 19 Septembre 2018

Stayed two nights here last week. We had a pleasant room with a good bathroom. Enjoyed two good evening meals in the restaurant and relaxing drinks in the comfortable lounge/bar. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The hotel is within walking distance of Norwich city centre. Would definitely consider staying here again if visiting Norwich.

"Saturday night stay"
carolturberfield, 17 Septembre 2018

This hotel is a little gem within the city of Norwich. Dinner and breakfast outstanding, would recommend to all. Staff are always so helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. Room extremely clean and bed so comfortable.

"One night stop"
buckets1969, 17 Septembre 2018

We stayed at the Annesley for one night. It is local enough to the centre of the City to walk in and leave your car in the hotel car park. The hotel is an old building with high ceilings and quirky decoration. The receptionist on arrival wasn't the cheeriest of blokes but we checked in to the room with little fuss. We were in room 11 on the ground floor which was through the conservatory/garden area which looked nice. The room was very large with numerous chairs, a large comfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom is a bit dated but clean, could do with a fan as there was a little bit of damp forming above the shower. We didn't eat in the hotel but there was a restaurant, a full breakfast was £11.50 but we chose to eat at the Unthank Kitchen which is about a 10 minute walk away. That was only £5.80. There was a bar and a lounge too. You do tend to get some noise from the main road that leads in to the centre in this room, also noise from the stones in the car park if people are driving in and out. All in all a nice hotel but maybe a couple of improvements would make it excellent.

"Wonderful hotel"
Sandi4, 01 Septembre 2018

This is a lovely hotel in a great location, being a 10 minute walk from Norwich City Centre. The grounds are lovely, the accommodation is great and the food is wonderful. Was really suprised the restaurant wasn't packed out every night as the Chef is superb.

"Handy for the centre of Norwich"
Anthony S, 30 Août 2018

We stayed B&B for 2 nights. The rooms were clean but in need of refurbishing. Problem with the shower and basin tap. Kettle had to be replaced, but the cost per night was very reasonable. would I stay there again. Yes, if I needed to be on that side of Norwich

"Very nice hotel with lots of character and very friendly staff"
Jerry O, 29 Août 2018

We stayed here for a recent concert in Earlham Park. We really enjoyed the stay and what I love about this hotel is it's old world charm and character. Something sadly lacking in modern big hotel chains. No two rooms in the Annesley are the same and some are really spacious like the one I stayed in. There was also ample parking for the guests. There was a nice open courtyard / pond area with lots of quite large Koi/Carp in it....just outside the dining area. Breakfast was included and it was cooked to perfection with plenty coffee, cereal, yogurt, fruit, Danish pastries and fruit juices to boot. The staff could not have been more helpful and I would definitely stay here again. Recommended.

"Miss Saigon visit"
40ems, 26 Août 2018

This was our second stay here and again couldn't fault it. Room spot on. Clean, comfy bed, good shower. Arrived early and was able to check in no problems. Ideally situated for a trip to the theatre. 15 minutes walk to town. Ample choice for breakfast and fab service. Thanks again!

"Night in Norwich"
bazza696, 22 Août 2018

We went to see Miss Saigon at the Norwich theatre, this is ideally placed about 12 minutes' walk into town. The hotel was perfect, the bed was big enough for 4, and very comfortable. The breakfast was spot on. I will stay again if we are in Norwich for another show.

"Great Hotel - ideal for exploring Norwich and Norfolk"
Roddysul, 18 Août 2018

Just come back from a great 5 night stay at this hotel. The hotel is well positioned within walking distance of the city centre, has lots of parking and very good staff. Rooms and grounds are very well kept. The restaurant has excellent food and the bar is well stocked. The Garden House in which we stayed is just fabulous - Thanks for a great stay and hope to see you all again when we can next venture down to Norfolk.

"Loved it!"
MrCanada, 16 Août 2018

Just wrote a review about a hotel in Salisbury, also this hotel is a old building, or should I say two old buildings. But it's very well maintained and with a fresh odor. You can see and smell that they do everything to keep it clean and so. The room was fine, enough space, nice bathroom, with all kind of amenities. Coffee, choco, tea and little cookies. Breakfast is more then fine, not a big choice from the little buffet, but more then okay. You can order also form a menu, extra. Inside there is a bar and a house room where you can sit. Very comfortable and inviting. During good weather, you can also eat or drink outside. Just enough parking spaces (free of charge), and withing 10 minute walk to the city center. The staff is friendly.

"Good location"
oljoha, 12 Août 2018

Let's start at check in - our greeting was uninspiring , the person didn't bother to stand up from their desk to greet us or say ‘ Welcome to the Annesley House Hotel' or similar or invite us to enjoy our stay or offer us any further help / info should we need it etc. We were given our keys along with a list of instructions mainly about the outside door and when it was locked etc, too much when all you want at that stage is directions to your room especially as the information folder in the room turned out to be comprehensive. We stayed for 4 nights in an executive room ( no 41 in the coach house) which was spacious with a king size bed, tv, safe, double wardrobe with a good supply of hangers, desk with mirror, 2 comfy chairs but a rather small ensuite. The room was on the ground floor with windows which we could only partially open for security reasons so consequently was very hot and airless despite being provided with a good size desk fan. The room was also very dark and we needed the lights on most of the time. The safe was in the bottom of the wardrobe so you needed to be able to lie down on the floor to set it up and use it, ridiculous really! The restaurant was pleasant if a little dated in decor - 1980s - which opened on to a small, pleasant patio garden with tables and chairs. We had continental breakfast each day with a selection of fruit, yoghurt, cereals, toast, croissants and Danish pastries. We also ate dinner in and found plenty of choice from the two menus available although the set menu remained the same for the 4 nights we stayed. A big shout out for Diana, the waitress, who looked after us, she was friendly and very professional. The hotel location was excellent and it has a car park. It is a short 10 minute walk into the city centre and close to the ring road. We used it as a base to tour Norfolk and to explore the city.

"Beautiful setting for a very quirky but classy hotel"
scoottyt, 07 Août 2018

In an almost rural setting the hotel is still situated only a short walk from the start of town. (For those unsure it is walking distance from the train station 1.2 miles if you're not afraid of a decent walk) The grounds of the hotel are a mix of beautiful Georgian buildings that each have their very own twist. Our room was lovely and spacious with a huge bathroom that you had to step down to (even the rooms are quirky). The main building has some lovely rest rooms, a small but convenient bar and the restaurant is beautiful. We also enjoyed a drink in the small but idyllic private gardens. Overall we would not hesitate to stay here again

"Fairly good but not well equipped for hot weather"
doug8888, 05 Août 2018

We flew in from the USA and drove to Norwich however we were not allowed to check in until after 1.30 (a little tough after an 8 hour red-eye flight and a 4 hour drive). We stayed upstairs in the Coach House - which proved to be very hot and stuffy in the rather hot weather. We did speak to the manager and she very kindly offered to change our room, however we elected to check out a day early. Customer service from the manager was excellent however the hotel should consider that international travellers may want to check in early if a room is available.

"Best place we've stayed in Norwich."
JohnnieJamMan, 30 Juillet 2018

Very comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Extremely handy for city centre (can walk in in about ten minutes). Surprisingly quiet despite being so central. The hotel is a collection of attractive old properties set in pleasant grounds. Lovely old grapevine and fish pond were unexpected features. The whole place gave the impression of being well-maintained. For instance, the numerous beautiful old sash-windows (that we were glad to be able to open fully due to the heat) worked so smoothly and better than our own at home! Nicely served pint of Adnams beer in the bar.

"Silver wedding weekend away"
karln113, 29 Juillet 2018

Silver wedding weekend away for 3 nights in Norfolk and Suffolk. First night was here and after a four and a half journey from Kent on one of the hottest days of the year what I needed most was a shower. Nice hotel excellent exterior and good service upon arrival. Room was adequate but shower was rather lacking in power. We didn't dine in and went out for dinner. Slept well andeft early next morning Good hotel no real problems would co.e again

"Hotel with character"
hottinroof, 28 Juillet 2018

Stayed here on the Saturday of the Lord Mayors Carnival, which meant we had to arrive after 7pm due to the access road to the hotel was understandably closed to traffic. Had a good weekend, the hotel is handily located a short walk from the City centre. The hotel consists of the main building with several converted old houses. It is old but unlike many chains, has character and a lovely garden area outside the conservatory dining room. We only ate breakfast which consisted of a very small cold buffet area and plated cooked breakfast to order, which was good quality. We had a ground floor room at the back of Walsten house, which was comfortable with a huge bathroom. The area outside the room window was a bit of a mess where some ground clearance appeared to have been done with 2 green rat trap boxes randomly strewn in the area. There were small issues with house keeping; a dirty milk jug and saucer in the room on arrival and were not removed during our stay and I washed them up in the end, an opened biscuit pack on arrival which along with other items was not replenished. We were provided with one dressing gown, I was informed it was hotel policy to only put one in the room, I think you had to request another one even if you have booked a room for two? The rooms are generously provided with facilities such as a minibar and safe provided plus ironing board and iron. If you want to be located close to but away from the hustle and noise of the city centre and prefer a hotel that has some green space and aesthetic appeal I would recommend this hotel.

"Clean and a little dated"
strolling8, 21 Juillet 2018

One night stay in a single room. Single bed, desk, wardrobe and a bath with a shower over. Fine for me but I think anyone above a small to medium may have found the gap between the toilet and the bath a bit tight and the bed small. This hotel reminds me of many best westerns I've stayed in. Clean, friendly staff and a slightly dated. No air conditioning but the fan was welcome. I'd say a 15 minute walk from the action or a taxi for £5.50. Breakfast was fine and the conservatory where it was served was nice. Fine for a one night stay and I'd use again although I may be tempted by the larger bed in the chain hotels nearer the station. The hotel was being used by customers training guide dogs and they gave advice to help the training. I was impressed by their care and I think this is illustrative of their customer service which may just compensate for the small bed and space in the bathroom.

"Small room"
Diane K, 20 Juillet 2018

I had a single so the room was pretty small as was the bathroom. There was a shower with a tub. The wifi was fast and free, plus free parking on site. The bed is a little soft. I don't know if they have air conditioning (I was there a cold May day) but there was a fan in the room. Not really enough electrical outlets. Clean, though. Breakfast was included. Nice tv.

"Poor food, tired rooms"
Sanx69, 15 Juillet 2018

We arrived for a single night's stay and the check-in process was performed smoothly and efficiently. We were directed to our room on the first floor. No lift, but it's an old building and the single flight of stairs wasn't too difficult even with two heavy suitcases. We decided to head down to the hotel restaurant for a light-ish dinner. We ordered the 10oz steak with peppercorn cream sauce and a main-sized lamb kofta with yoghurt and coriander dip, plus some mixed vegetables for a side dish. The dinner arrived after 20 minutes or so. The steak was done a little more than asked (rare) but was strangely bland. There was little searing or colour on the outside; perhaps this contributed to the lack of taste. The peppercorn sauce was similarly tasteless, but the chips and vegetables were fine. The lamb koftas, on the other hand, were inedible. They had been overcooked to the point where they took on the consistency of jerky. Dry, tasteless, rubbery bit of meat. The oddly-sweet yoghurt and coriander dip didn't make them any more pleasant. At the end of the meal, we complained about the second dish and the staff promised to remove it from the final bill, which was done without further reminder at checkout. My wife was also offered something else, but we declined. The room itself was of an OK size but was clearly very tired. The bathroom especially was extremely old-fashioned and in need of updating. Although a hot day, we were pleased to see that there was a fan in the wardrobe and the window actually opened properly. The final lowlight of the stay was the shower; negligible water pressure made for a very poor experience. Washing long or thick hair would have been an exercise in either patience or frustration. The check-out process was smooth, and the hotel were able to look after our bags as we explored the city for the day.

"Love this little hotel!!!"
carolemV9715ZQ, 08 Juillet 2018

Second time staying here and definitely not the last! Wonderful hotel, I absolutely could not have been more pleased, stayed for 8 nights! The room was the same room 2.5 years ago, a little wear and tear, but clean and comfortable! Housekeeping always did a wonderful job everyday! Barry, Emily, were front desk and were just delightful and helpful. D'anna, Shanae[sp] and Hanna were efficient and friendly in dining room. The Shellie the manager was professional and pleasant. The meals were always delicious! I will be back again to visit my family and would not stay anywhere but here!!!

"What a find"
jeany1, 08 Juillet 2018

Visited this hotel for a gin festival weekend which didn't happen. It was lovely so close to the centre of Norwich with car parking the staff were so nice and the room was very comfortable. My friend and I went into Norwich for several hours but as it was the Mayor's parade and a certain football match we decided to come back to the hotel to eat. My son joined us and we had a lovely meal.

"Good but over priced"
DaveThomasLeicester, 05 Juillet 2018

Location close to lovely Norwich but over priced on basic costs and plain restaurant. Lovely staff who deserve to be paid more for doing a great job. A tired chain in need of a new image but good for a short stay

"Just the best in town "
Thewatchfuleye, 05 Juillet 2018

I love this place, room 23 is a bit of a climb but well worth it! I will ask for it again, just so big and quiet and just lovely. In the restaurant; The liver to start was just fantastic, with a nice glass of red and the lovely garden to look out to, perfect start to dinner. The staff must be hand picked, nothing is to much trouble and the smiles are worth their weight in gold. Home made sorbet then on to the main. Duck breast, well, what can I say, service first class,as usual, food was just superb! Please company send me here again soon, please! Nice ale in the bar then off to the very nice bed!

"A decent, well priced little hotel"
David C, 24 Juin 2018

I'm usually a Premier Inn resident when I visit Norwich, but for some reason they were quite expensive so I decided to look more widely. I'd heard of the Annesley House hotel but had never been there, but the price made it attractive. My first impression was to be a little disappointed, but then I thought about it and realised that there wasn't actually anything to be disappointed about. It's a three-star hotel, and everything I needed was there and worked: the bed was comfy, the WiFi was decent, the staff were friendly (even though I did arrive at 2am after a hellish train journey from Gatwick). And in some ways it was better than the Premier Inn - for example, the room had an iron and ironing board whereas at the PI you have to go to Reception to borrow one. The hotel House is also pretty close to town (it was a nice day so I strolled down to the city centre). Any gripes? Nah, not really, except maybe that the water pressure in the shower could have been higher. All in all, then, a good, comfortable little hotel.

"Good base for exploring Norwich"
MorrisMaxi, 20 Juin 2018

Stayed 3 nights . Had a big room in the Coach House any from the main hotel. It was a bit bland and corporate .Some pictures to brighten up the room would be a useful addition as the room is quite dark.Comfy big super double bed and a good walk in shower helped the space grow on me although it was hot at night and traffic noise prevented us from opening windows .Parking was ample. Breakfast was very good with a great variety of cooked food, fresh fruit and drinks on offer. Service was excellent. We had two evening meals which were good and there is a broad choice on offer. Staff were helpful and friendly. Well situated but can be hard to find as street signage is small..

"A little gem"
CosieRamble, 04 Juin 2018

What a delightful hotel. Myself and 2 friends stayed for a 1 night stay. We each had a single executive room with the most comfortable beds imaginable! The room I had was small but well laid out and had everything I needed, including a proper hairdryer, dressing-table with mirror and socket all in the same place! Breakfast was scrummy and there's a delightful garden where we sat and had some good coffee. The location is perfect ... a 10 minute walk to the shopping area and a 15 min walk to the Theatre Royal. We will certainly be returning.

A friendly hotel with lovely rooms Good menu offer delicious food both at breakfast and dinner times Very helpful and friendly staff Nice to see young people being passionate and knowledgeable about food

"Very Good Value, Good service, Very welcoming"

An all round good hotel. Good service, good food and comfortable rooms. Dinner in the restaurant was well served and nicely presented. Overall a good experience. Good location for College or City centre. Would stay again.

"Excellent Hotel"
Bob H, 25 Mai 2018

We extended our stay here to take in more local sites as it was such a good hotel. Small enough to be cozy and comfortable but large enough to have all the facilities, we found it to be unusual and interesting. The rooms were big, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The attractively decorated restaurant had very good cuisine, especially the "gourmet" menu, and the food was well served and presented. A short wine list had some very good wines to accompany the food, and the Adnam's beer in the small bar was well kept too. However, the best part was probably the staff. We were made very welcome, from the manageress downwards the staff were attentive and helpful and cheerfully pleasant. We would recommend the hotel to anyone.

"Quick visit to Norwich"
Collin T, 22 Mai 2018

Just had to say had a great stay at your hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The location for a city visit is superb, and the quality of the room and food were great. Thank you for a great stay.

"Norwich City Break"
Robert B, 16 Mai 2018

Easy to find, plenty of parking, good location 10 / 15 minutes walk from city centre (avoid the roundabout underpass in the evening). Friendly reception. Our room was in a building separate from the main hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. We were a bit concerned with the single glazed windows as the room faced a busy main road. In the event there proved to be very little traffic noise. Large bathroom with spa bath and good shower. Hotel public rooms were beautifully decorated and we enjoyed a quiet drink in the bar on our arrival. The conservatory dining room looked very nice although we did not use it (too much choice of eating places in Norwich). Patio area with pond is lovely, we enjoyed a seat in the sun on our second day. Reason for four stars rather than five is the experience of the last few minutes of our stay! The water supply was turned off at 10am without notice. There was building / maintenance work being done which is fair enough, but surely the hotel could have notified guests that the water was being turned off. We could quite easily have been running a bath or showering. Fortunately we were packed and ready to go. Couldn't flush the loo though (apologies to housekeeping). I intended to mention this on checking out however we appeared to be interrupting a conversation and were not even asked if everything was ok or if we enjoyed our stay. 4 out of 5 for this. We would still choose to stay again.

"Excellent stay"
Jamesrachel1, 13 Mai 2018

stayed for one night and upon arriving noticed the staff were very friendly and attentive, I had mistakenly booked a single bed for me and my partner but found out the bed was actually a small double to our amazement, the staff then catered for the extra body and brought up extra towels and biscuits, they also organised a taxi for us for our night out. The rooms itself are an excellent standard, very clean and well stocked with milk/tea/coffee and TWO hairdryers, among other useful things such as iron & trouser press. I would highly recommend this hotel due to the staff, price, facilities & location. I can't comment on the food as we cheekily got a Dominos delivered to the hotel but the duty manager was fine with this, but I imagine like the rest of the hotel facilities it would not have been a disappointment. If we travel to this neck of the woods again we would not hesitate on booking with this hotel again. James & Rachel

"Short Visit"
Poke_it_with_a_stick, 04 Mai 2018

The entrance to the hotel, the reception rooms and bar are well decorated, clean and very comfortable. The reception desk were friendly and helpful. If you are meeting people in the hotel I think this would be a good choice. My room was comfortable and while not ruthlessly clean, nothing at all to put you off the visit (I got rather dusty trying to turn on the radiator for example). Breakfast was nice and even the pastry options were freshly warmed which is a lovely touch. If you are visiting to see the city, this is a very good location. It is a very short walk to the centre along some well lit streets and there are a couple of restaurants and pubs even before this point. Overall, suitable for a short visit but if the 'hotel stay' is part of your holiday then perhaps try a different one.

"Clean,friendly dated"
mcrossland60, 02 Mai 2018

Lovely helpful staff, clean and tidy room. Comfy bed. Water for bathing could have been hotter. Good location, 10 minute walk to city centre or bus stop right outside. Breakfast is not included in room rate but Norwich offers plenty of cafes with a wide variety of food available. Own bar in hotel , relaxing surroundings.

"What a find!"
Jillonadayout, 29 Avril 2018

From the options to stay in this area, I chose this hotel, mainly because it had parking but was I lucky? The hotel, staff and food were great! The hotel was small, comfortable, well furnished and clean, the staff were absolutely lovely and the food was excellent.

"Overnight stay"
carolturberfield, 25 Avril 2018

Wonderful stay as usual, staff extremely helpful and had a great nights sleep.Easy booking in , pleasant lounge and well tendered gardens. Breakfast was well cooked and set us up for the day. Location is ideal for the city.

"Friendly staff, comfortable but a bit creaky"
mohitpai, 17 Avril 2018

They have a converted an old house into a boutique hotel and have done it really tastefully. They have used the space really well and have made sure that the customer is really comfortable in every aspect. The only issue with this place for me was since it's an old establishment people walking around your room or above ur room can get really annoying. The creaking ceiling kept waking me up whenever somebody moved near my room. However I am not sure if this was an experience only for my sensitive ears or room. They have a lovely property where u can sit have ur breakfast and also have a bar for a quick drink.

"Convenient and comfortable"
keithl0ng, 14 Avril 2018

Bearing in mind the cost this is a good value for money hotel, if you want something more luxurious then it will cost more, but for a one night business stay perfectly adequate. Nice restaurant room elsewhere a bit dated

"Friendly hotel, staff very nice"
Pat C, 12 Avril 2018

Staying for two nights due to a family funeral with my husband and son. We had a double and a single for my son. The rooms were very nice and the single a good size. We had not intended having dinner in the hotel but while we were waiting for a family member to meet us we decided to have a drink in the bar. We were very comfortable and after our long journey we decided to eat st the hotel. A good decision. The dining room was lovely and the food excellent, with a good choice. A two course meal was offered at £19.50. The service was excellent and the staff very welcoming and obliging. We also had break-fast there the next morning. 3 choices I.e. Quick start, continental, to full English. My husband and I had the continental, cereal, porridge, cheese, ham, pastries fruit, tea toast etc My son had the full one. Food was good and plentiful with extra toast, tea on request. We also had a snack lunch in the hotel before we went to the funeral. Overall a really nice hotel , close to the city. I would certainly return.

"Nice rooms and welcoming staff"
Sean W, 08 Avril 2018

I stayed for 1 night, I found the room was really nice and clean, the staff were friendly and happy to chat when they weren't busy. Situated a short walk from town with restaurants also close by. I will defiantly stay here when I come back to Norwich

"Good time in Norwich"
joshua184, 04 Avril 2018

Great stay nothing too much trouble staff professional and funny. Our deluxe room was good, fluffy robes, flannels and slippers. Drinks good price food good, sorbet a really nice touch. Will be back to enjoy again.

"Great value and location"
Mel W, 24 Mars 2018

This was a single stay in a real single bedded room. It was excellent, bathroom clean and facilities excellent. The location just at the end of one of the main city centre roads couldn't have been better and plenty of free parking. The hotel itself is a tasteful group of Georgian buildings, very well presented and excellent friendly staff. I usual stay at a Premier further down the road, but in future I will always try and get in here.

"Excellent facilities and great food."
Dylans D, 15 Mars 2018

We used Annesley House as a base to explore Norwich and we were not disappointed. We were given the apartment at the rear of the hotel to accommodate our family and it was great. There was a lovely kitchen/dining space and two well decorated spacious bedrooms. The food was of an exceptionally high standard and all of the staff were very welcoming. We will definitely stay again.

"Lovely hotel in a good location"
clp1981, 05 Mars 2018

One of the main reasons that we picked this hotel was that it had parking and was close enough to walk into the city centre. We were very pleased with our room, it was really cosy, the bed was huge and the bathroom was really big! Our room was right at the top of the house which had some narrow and steep stairs, we were fine with this but I think others could struggle, I think the hotel should warn people of this. The staff were all really friendly and we had to smile that they have a dummy lock to show you how to open the doors when you check in! We spent some time in the bar in the evening which was nice and quite well stocked. We would definitely return if we visit again.

"12 days off heaven"
fiamcg, 03 Mars 2018

Just spent 12 days training with my new guide dog. With Guide Dogs. The staff are very friendly supportive with us while bonding with our new charges. All meals are outstanding fresh produce, the homemade burgers were yum. Housekeeping staff are most helpful in making sure we were ok. Myself and Winnie the guide dog will be back. Thank you all.

"Best Customer Service Ever"
Paula S, 21 Février 2018

Our room overheated on the firstnight. Not only was I upgraded for the next two nights, but the cost of the first night was deducted from the bill and a lovely box of chocolates was left in my room!!! what a lovely thoughtful touch. In an age when there is a lot of poor customer service, this example of pure excellence will live with me for a long time!

"Good weekend away"
Sara C, 21 Février 2018

Convenient for city centre. Large room with a big comfortable bed; good breakfast and and nice staff. We had drinks in the bar and dinner one night - all really tasty although service could have been quicker at dinner.

"A mixed bag"
Paul L, 15 Février 2018

I stayed here for the first time this week as my usual hotel was full. On the plus side, the bed was comfy, decent telly, ironing board, a bath as well as a shower and even a bath robe. Staff on reception were also very pleasant and its handy for the City Centre. On the downside, my bedroom door refused to close properly, the radiator right next to my bed was noisy all night and my room was pretty tiny, even for a single room. So, would I stay again - maybe at a push but it wont be top of my list.

"excellent stay and excellent customer service."
Cobblers1961, 06 Février 2018

We stayed for 2 nights here. The first night in room 19 - very pleasant and clean comfy room, however we were woken in the early hours as passing traffic caused the overhead light fitting to vibrate, once I was woken by this I found the noise though not over loud was annoying and disturbed my sleep. We bought this to the attention of the receptionist the next morning hoping that maintenance could have a look and perhaps tighten the loose fitting, however maintenance didn't work over weekends so she said to leave it with her and she would sort something. Within an hour she had arranged for us to move to another room in the old manor house , a really nice room with huge bathroom and jacuzzi bath.We were really pleased with the efficiency and competant manner of Donna so would like to pass on our thanks to her. We had breakfast both mornings which was delicious - lots of choice and cooked breakfast to order. Again the staff were polite and friendly. This was our 2nd stay here and would definitely stay again.

Stayed again at the superb Annersley House Hotel in Norwich. The room, service and restaurant food is excellent. Only a 10 minute walk to the City Centre, where there are many tourist attractions. Looking forward to our next visit.

"Lovely Menu"
Chris J, 20 Janvier 2018

I haven't stayed here however I have had dinner in the restaurant. Choice and quality of food were outstanding with really polite and friendly service. I had Liver as starter and beef medallions on a bed of risotto for main. Outstanding. I will be definitely back again and I recommend it.

""Centrally located in Norwich-Good Choice""
John E, 14 Janvier 2018

My wife and I left from Heathrow at 7:00 PM after flying in from Rome and arrived at midnight in Norwich via bus. We were a little worried that coming in so late on a Friday night would be a problem but the night staff was there to let us in. We prepaid so the room was ready. The room was small, but clean , comfortable and very quiet. The heater was somewhat of a challenge and like nothing in the states. When you turned the dial it starts but stays on. They should provide a little cheat sheet for non-UK travelers. But it warmed up fast. The breakfast was not included but we could have bought that option. We paid for it and it was very good. We stayed one night and we would recommend this hotel. The staff was great-and very accommodating

"FROM INITIAL BOOKING TO CHECKING OUT,,, EXCELLENT."
ROYnJOY, 10 Janvier 2018

Our first visit to Annesley. I should really put the hotel in the Very Good category but that would be unfair to the staff who deserve the Excellent which I've selected. From making our initial booking to checking out they made our stay perfect. It was a pleasure to watch the staff helping each other whatever the job. Excellent breakfasts on all 3 mornings. Easy walk into the Norwich shopping area.

"Great place to stay!"
PaulaOxted, 07 Janvier 2018

My husband and I just returned from a weekend stay at the Annesley House Hotel and could not be more pleased with our experience. There was plenty of parking when we arrived on Friday and the check in process was quick and efficient. We were staying in the annex and our room was large and well equipped. The carpet and furnishings looked new and the room and bathroom were both clean and inviting. We also enjoyed having the small patio off to the side of the room. The breakfast on both days was substantial and tasted great. All of the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The next time we go to Norwich we will definitely stay there again.

"Best in Norwich by far"
ivorg2018, 02 Janvier 2018

This is the place to go for a relaxing stay, Both Hotel and staff exceed all expectation. Annesley House has lots of character not found in ultra modern Hotels, Brilliant caring staff always around to add to an informal atmosphere. The location is superb- no need of taking a car or bus into the city - walking takes about about 10 minutes right into the Centre. Of course so much history around you and if its retail therapy you need this is the place for you.

"Awful"
88mmcdonald, 31 Décembre 2017

Our room was in the annex. Bed was good. Room was clean. That was the best it got. The bathroom was awful. Needed to have been gutted and redone years ago. Showering- after a few minutes in shower, ended up standing in water. Loo takes ages to refill.. everything looked grubby. Was not value for money Room and bathroom had a damp smell

"A great base for shopping with accommodating staff. "
teamabbo, 21 Décembre 2017

My husband and I booked this for our Christmas shopping break. We requested an early check in, which was no problem. When we arrived, our room wasn't quite ready but we were treated to a drink at the bar. Later we needed help getting the lights to work and the staff were very helpful. Our TV was also not working so this was immediately replaced and again, we were given drinks at the bar and our breakfast by way of an apology. Although it may seem that there was a lot wrong, all of our issues were resolved promptly and without argument. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was very good. We would go there again.

"Peace and quiet after a day's Christmas Shopping!"
Chissies, 05 Décembre 2017

The Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were large and well set out. Comfortable beds and nicely appointed bathroom. Shame about the corridor from reception to our room being like an ice box which made an unpleasant contrast from hot to cold - no doubt lovely in the summertime. The evening meal was pleasant and the service very good. Good base for our Christmas shopping in Norwich. We would be happy to book here again - thank you.

"Very Enjoyable"
Kevin R, 04 Décembre 2017

Had an overnight stay for Christmas shopping.Well positioned and saved on parking.Hotel room was large, clean and comfy bed.Pleasant staff, filling breakfast and a good price.Would recommend and come back again.

"A Very Nice Hotel"
Andrew S, 02 Décembre 2017

I stayed here while I was on a training course for four days in Norwich. First impressions were not good as I walked through the door and saw a tiny little bar in a room full of easy chairs, it looked like a bar someone would have had in their lounge in the 1970's, I thought to myself this is going to be a very long week. How wrong was I!!! I stayed in the old coach house, the room was very clean and tidy.and for once had a good supply of tea and coffee. The staff were very professional and yet friendly and very soon made you feel at home in a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was just fantastic with a wide choice on the menu at a very good price. and served well not the usual chain "ping ding" type meals. The bar area was a great place to relax and unwind after a meal and unlike pub style hotel bars the guests actually spoke to each other due to the layout and the atmosphere. They had a good real ale on which was kept well and a wide choice of lager. The only minor downside was the prices on the drinks they were a little expensive the whisky and the wine but even then when we spoke to the staff about this we were not fobbed off they agreed and said they would look into it. As I work away from home most of the time I stay in hotels all over the country this one has gone into my must return list. All in all a very nice relaxing hotel.

"Xmas shopping trip"
40ems, 25 Novembre 2017

Stayed for 1 night. Room clean and tidy and comfy bed. Shame the water pressure very low. Shower warm but sadly no oomph. Good varied breakfast with lots to choose from. £11.50 each we thought a bit excessive. Overall a good night stay and the staff were all lovely.

"Theatre Visit"
sandyhendrickse, 24 Novembre 2017

Lovely Hotel would definitely stay again . We stayed in The Garden Suite , which is a self contained unit in the garden , maybe a converted garage . It was beautiful , downstairs sitting room and kitchen ,upstairs bedroom and ensuite . Breakfast really good . Would stay again . We went to the Theatre to see a show, short Taxi ride . Staff lovely

"Emily is a 5 star worker"
kruttl, 22 Novembre 2017

We arrived just after midnight after our flight being delayed at the Best Western Annesley House hotel to be met and checked in by Emily. She was very pleasant and efficient and checked us in with all the relevant information. The room was fine with all amenities if a little on the small side but the bed was comfortable and i had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was served with a smile once again by Emily and it was very good with an especially good selection of fruit. We spent the day discovering Norwich City before returning to the hotel for shower and change before an awards dinner. We met in the cosy bar for a drink to be met once again by Emily (does this girl get any time off!) and had another lovely breakfast the following morning once again served by Emily. As you can imagine Emily gets 5 stars!!!

"great as ever"
h2orev, 19 Novembre 2017

we have stayed here several times as we come to Norwich for the opera. this hotel is so convenient. The rooms are comfortable. The food scrumptious and almost healthy. the staff are very helpful. we are booked again for March.

"First visit to Norwich "
Southcroft66, 17 Novembre 2017

After a trying year, we decided on a short break to Norwich to help get our ‘mojo' back. Selected the Annesley House Hotel as our base on previous Trip Advisor reviews. Situated only a five minute stroll from Norwich centre the location was/is ideal. There was a nice warm welcome from reception staff, indeed, all the staff we met were very good. Our room was very spacious and welcoming with a decent size bathroom. We ate two evening meals at the hotel and while they were good, in our opinion, they were a little overpriced. Breakfast was good with a decent selection. Norwich itself proved to be worth the visit. The castle is well worth the entrance fee and there is good shopping with a large market. The city is blessed with two cathedrals, along with more churches than I have ever seen in one place. Would we stay at the Annesley again ? Yes but next time we would probably eat out in the evening as the centre is so close.

"Recommended."
MrT98, 08 Novembre 2017

Firstly this is solely my experience and 100%genuine. I have stayed here recently and have found the hotel to be very comfortable clean and with lovely staff a nice place to stay.My room was very nice quite small but functional. Breakfast was nice but maybe a bit over priced . I would not hesitate to stay here again.

"Disappointing"
Ruth M, 05 Novembre 2017

We read the reviews on Trip Advisor and I think we expected more than we got. Our room (15) was very dated, with a strangely shaped bathroom. The water pressure was very poor so we used the bath instead. It was clean with a comfortable bed, but not worth the money at all. We didn't eat at the hotel, as it was close to the city centre where there are nice places to eat. The receptionist was polite and helpful when we left, but we wouldn't stay again as other hotels offer more facilities for the same price.

"Did It Again."
Andrew G, 01 Novembre 2017

Stayed two nights arriving 27 October 2017. Ticked all the boxes again. Clean. Warm. Friendly. Excellent food. Another enjoyable stay. Have lost count of the times I've stayed here, but always first choice in Norwich, and if it isn't available I always feel a little bit sad.

"Welcoming"
Valerie P, 31 Octobre 2017

I have stayed at the Annesley House Hotel several times this year and I am always assured of a friendly welcome. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the beautiful city of Norwich and there is plenty of free parking on site.

"Comfortable hotel"
g_sellors, 29 Octobre 2017

Nice hotel, full of character. Lots of amenities in the room and very cosy. I liked the three banding prices for the breakfast, and the high quality ingredients. Lovely garden area. The only negative was the very poor water pressure in the shower.

"Nice and traditional"
pjthants, 26 Octobre 2017

I liked this hotel. A lovely old traditional feel, nice bar, a good restauraunt, welcoming staff, a spacious lounge. My room was HUGE. It had everything I needed including an iron and ironing board. It was bright with a very big double bed but just a little tired looking. The bathroom was functional and perhaps the only disappointing aspect of my stay but it was very clean. I ate at the hotel; my meal was very good and again the waitress was very helpful and friendly. The menu has plenty of choice from bar food to a full "sit down". There is parking at the hotel.

"Anniversary stay"
sarah g, 16 Octobre 2017

I stayed here last weekend with 8 other members of my family. I've never stayed here before but would definitely stay again. The 4 rooms were all different, lovely & modern. Very clean, tidy & comfy. We didn't eat there in the evening but we did have breakfast the next morning. There was a nice selection, freshly cooked to order. It was a little expensive for what you get but lovely. Will definitely boom again in the future. Thanks

"Nice hotel 5 minutes walk to center"
Barbora S, 16 Octobre 2017

Nice hotel with free parking. The room was larger and very comfortable. Bed was I guess queen size but very comfortable. The hotel has its bar which closes at approx. 10 p.m. Very friendly staff. Nice calm neighborhood.

"A very good basic hotel "
Julian M, 15 Octobre 2017

When we arrived at the hotel my first thought was that we had come to an old people's home! The outside and inside are very dated but clean and tidy. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and had everything that we needed. The only minor thing was that there was no fan to get rid of the steam after a shower with a large mirror but no clear area on the mirror as it was an old style mirror which made it difficult to shave or brush your teeth. All in all this was a conviently placed hotel close to the centre which was well priced. It was also quiet which was also good. I would recommend this hotel and would use it again.

"Overnight stay"
lyn0n, 10 Octobre 2017

Good parking, friendly staff and great location for getting into Norwich (walk in about 15 minutes). Bedroom well equipped with TV, tea/coffee making facilities, good sized bathroom but drab decor and dim lighting. However, downstairs communal bar and restaurant area are bright, clean and cheerful. Excellent breakfast. Would stay here again if visiting Norwich.

"Good choice"
highlandspring, 04 Octobre 2017

Stayed 1 night on business. Good location 7 minute walk from centre, free parking. Bed was comfortable, pleasant staff, fine breakfast in conservatory. Nice little bar for night cap.Really Solid 3 star and good value.

"Lovely place"
TKMaxx, 04 Octobre 2017

Really nice hotel. Lovely room, big bathroom and Jacuzzi bath. Nice area. Only ten minutes walk into town or £6 for a taxi to riverside. Never tried food as ate out. All very clean. Friendly staff. Would definately come again. Was lucky enough to use tesco vouchers to pay less.

"Super stay"

Stayed for two nights lovely room crisp clean bedding comfortable bed Bathroom outstanding spotless Food was awesome as were the staff Stayed to do some sight seeing and enjoyed everything Would highly recommend and will return next year

"Great location for Norwich City Centre"
macham162, 02 Octobre 2017

Our well appointed executive room was situated in a house separate from that housing the reception, bar, and restaurant. Adequate off road parking included. Dining in conservatory offered quality food for breakfast and dinner. Good choices on menus. Service was also pleasant and quick. Location within walking distance of city attactions, and local bus service on main road.

"Great for the city centre"
Bryn E, 26 Septembre 2017

A good comfortable and well situated hotel near to the city centre. Public rooms and facilities [Restaurant, lounge and bar] are very good and bedrooms clean and comfortable but some features of the en-suite bathrooms need to be updated.

"Great location"
Christine Q, 13 Septembre 2017

Stayed here for two nights and found the walk into town very easy. About ten minutes max to be at The Castle and all the shops. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice of fruit juice, cereals, fresh fruits, full English with lovely sausages or smoked haddock if you can put up with it repeating all day. Charming staff/waitresses especially Cornish Amy (Emma?) always with a smile on her face and delightful chambermaids. The only let down was the receptionist. Despite lots of encouragement and smiles and 'good mornings' from us he didn't crack a smile. I think his name was Brian. We didn't feel welcome but rather an inconvenience. The Deluxe rooms in The Coach House are very comfortable and reasonably sized. Although it's between two roads we didn't find that a problem with noise.

"4 night break to visit friends"
Hantscouple555, 07 Septembre 2017

Efficient check in and pleasant welcome, booked for dinner that night. Room 14 nicely presented, clean with good bathroom. My dinner was very good but there was an issue with my wife's, this was speedily and satisfactorily dealt with, no fuss no argument. good customer service. Breakfast very good with plenty of selection from full English to Continental, service good. Hotel is easy walk into Norwich and easy acces to A11/47 which we needed to visit friends in Dereham. although on the main road it is a quiet location.

"2 night stay with everything we needed "
Aimee G, 04 Septembre 2017

We stayed with Annesley House for two nights whilst we explored the city of Norwich and spent the second day at a music festival at Norwich Showground. This place was just what we needed for a weekend away - super close to the city centre, with free parking, great breakfast and professional and knowledgable staff. Our room was ok, at times it felt as though we were staying in Cinderella's tower (room no. 24) which is up some very small and steep stairs, and the bathroom is horizontally challenged in places but we would definitely stay at the hotel again because of its location and ease to find! The gardens are beautiful, it was peaceful and we had a late checkout time as standard (much needed). Overall we had a brilliant weekend in a new city!

"Second stay and will be back!"
Catherine S, 02 Septembre 2017

I wrote a review straight after our visit back in early August, but somehow it didn't get published - maybe a technical glitch. Anyway, from memory, I'd thoroughly recommend a stay at the Annesley. Two of us spent three nights in a very comfortable twin room, in order to see Norwich. The breakfasts were superb, the one evening meal we had was lovely, with loads of choice, and the chosen dishes really good, as were the portion sizes. I'd particularly like to put in a good word for every member of staff we encountered - each was extremely professional, but kept on the right side of the fine line between friendly and over familiar (not easy, I know from personal experience). This was our second visit since the hotel has been a Best Western, and we will certainly have a third. Please print this time! Catherine S

"Good find"
AJH69, 28 Août 2017

What a find this was. Stayed for 2 nights in the coach house part of the hotel and what a lovely room it was. It was large with a king size bed that was very comfortable. The room was well appointed. Shower room very good. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast very good with a good choice. Bar ok with good prices for a hotel. Location of hotel is about 20 mins walk to the center of Norwich. Will certainly stay there again if I have to visit Norwich again

"Handy location, but on a busy road."
Macandcath, 27 Août 2017

We stayed three nights in August. The hotel is three characterful houses: two conjoined, and one just across the car park. We liked the buildings. Our room was in the house across the car park, and on the ground floor. The room was hot but we weren't keen to leave windows open all night, as we usually would, because of being on the ground floor. The room was very clean, and was well cleaned each day. Bed very comfortable. The bathroom was a little dated: there was always a slight "drains" smell in the bathroom. We had booked room only, and didn't have beakfast in the hotel on any morning. We did have dinner in the restaurant on one night, and this was very good, and reasonable value. Good food, and good, helpful, service. Pretty good free wifi in the room. The hotel is on a busy road, and on the one night when we did leave a window open a little, we were both woken up during the small hours by traffic noise. The hotel is handy for walking into Norwich centre. It was our first visit to Norwich and we were impressed by the city. Many great places to eat in town too!

"Great customer service"
urr75, 27 Août 2017

The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. We were in room 12, which is right next to the laundry so a bit noisy at certain times. However, we were only there for one night, so were not particularly bothered. We also had an issue with our breakfast, but we were treated very graciously and didn't have to pay for our food. Overall a good place to stay.

"Lovely room, friendly staff"
Mark P, 24 Août 2017

My wife and I stayed here for a family weekend; it was our first time here, and we really liked our newly refurbished room. There was still scaffold on the hotel, and some work still in progress, but this didn't disrupt our stay. The breakfast was really good.

"Fab hotel; staff and breakfast"
Irene D, 14 Août 2017

Booked as within walking distance of city - and free car parking - a bit quirky as our rooms were in the next building - comfy bed; clean room and great breakfast - what more could you ask for - thank you for a lovely stay. First time I've been to Norwich city centre - well worth another visit.

"Good Location"
dlancaster23, 12 Août 2017

We were very surprised at how close this quaint hotel was from Norwich City Centre, only a short 5 minute walk to the shopping centres. Averaged sized rooms but the bed was very big and comfortable, enormous pictures of seagulls were slightly unnerving however. Hotel was always kept clean and staff were friendly and polite throughout our stay. Easy to find and a decent sized car park.

"Two night stay to explore Norwich City"
Patricia S, 05 Août 2017

We stayed at Annesley House Hotel for two nights at the end of July. We were greeted warmly at reception on arrival. Room was nice with free bottles of water and biscuits replenished daily and tea making facilities. We booked for evening meals and the food was lovely with a good selection from two menus (fine dining or more general good food). Breakfasts were also very good and the staff were very efficient and friendly. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. There is an outside area with fish pond and patio which is a really nice quiet place to sit.

"Great hotel for a romantic break in and around Norwich"
Geoff2008, 03 Août 2017

We reserved an executive double room and stayed in one of several annexes, the Coach House. Our room was spotless and with the best walk-in shower I have ever seen. Although on the Newmarket Road (A11) the room was very quiet, extremely comfortable, and with a huge bed! The food in the restaurant was great, we had two day trips out but took dinner the other two nights. There are two menus and you can mix and match between them. Breakfast was also excellent. There is a very pleasant slightly less-formal feel to this hotel which along with the quality puts it right up there with my other fave Best Western, The Crown in Lyndhurst. This was our second stay here at the Annesley House and we will be back for a third.

"Graduation stay "
holidaymaker1639613, 29 Juillet 2017

Stayed for four nights at this wonderful hotel for our sons graduation, loved that it was very unique and quirky(tree growing through conservatory for one) and the staff are AMAZING!!! Nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was great and served to perfection, very well organised and in a beautiful dining room. Room(14) wasn't huge but bathroom was a good size so overall very happy. Only teeny weeny comment would be that as this room is directly above laundry you do hear the extractor fan from quite early in the morning but we are early risers so didn't really disturb us. We didn't want to leave, so relaxing. Had dinner one evening and was very happy with this also. Nice bar area to sit and relax i. Garden as well if weather allows. Very good value for money, highly recommend

"Great stay in a lobley hotel"
leanne_gray, 23 Juillet 2017

Once we arrived, check-in was really fast and we were directed to our room which was in the red brick building to the left of the main hotel. Our room was clean with all the amenities you would expect - including a fan in the wardrobe which was a really welcome addition as the weather was really hot when we stayed. The bathroom was great with a waterfall style shower. There was a small bar, reception room and a beautiful garden outside with a pond where you can have your drinks in the sunshine - so relaxing! We had breakfast on the last morning and it was fine. The hotel itself is a 15 minute walk from Norwich centre and, as the weather was so lovely, we never needed a taxi. The only negative would be that the floor in room above ours was really loud and creaky and there seemed to be people constantly walking around from about 4am on two nights that we stayed - I would try to arrange a different room next time for that reason. That said, I would definitely stay here again if ever back in Norwich.

"Since 1995!"
Andrew G, 21 Juillet 2017

Been using this hotel since 1995, if memory serves. Stayed again recently, arriving 13 July 2017 for 3 nights. Everything up to usual standard. Clean, comfortable room. Excellent food. Friendly staff. Not much else to add really.

"Quirky comfort"
AquitaineHirondelle, 17 Juillet 2017

A two night stopover so we could catch up with different friends and see something of Norwich. Hotel is excellent, rooms in different buildings each having its own character. Our room was spotless, with a good sized bathroom. There was a rather large step down from the doorway to the main room which caught us out a couple of times, and the building was in a triangle between the Ipswich road and the Newmarket road which made traffic noise in the early morning an issue. (Better with windows shut, but it was a hot couple of days.) Breakfast very good, apart from flabby toast. Lots of choice, fresh coffee. We also ate there on the first night, again a good choice of freshly cooked food. A nice bar area and a lovely garden with pond. (Sad that in this day and age signs have to ask people to behave there.) We would happily stay there again and see more of Norwich.

"I keep going back"
Linda S, 13 Juillet 2017

This hotel has a great variety of rooms, all of which are very comfortable (I've stayed in a few) Despite there being months between my visits, the staff always greet me like an old friend with Shelley in particular standing out

"A one night stopover"
David H, 28 Juin 2017

Booked for convenience to a party location and discovered a delightful hotel well worth its 3 stars. Reception very helpful; room very comfortable with both bath and shower. Very hot weekend and no air - con. There was a fan but we did not find it in the wardrobe until next day. Gardens very pleasant for an early drink- did not have dinner but breakfast next day in the conservatory was everything you could wish for. Plenty of choices well served by happy and obliging staff. Bonus for my wife was proximity to city centre (walking distance) which prompted an early purchase. Will use again if an overnight in Norwich is needed.

"A night with Take That"
Melissa D, 18 Juin 2017

After getting tickets to see take that for Christmas we then had to find a hotel for the night and this was perfect.staff were really helpful in getting us to the stadium and on our return probably one of the best ciders I have had for a long time. Fantastic night sleep, room was all we could of wanted and a nice full English for breakfast, would definitely recommend.

"Hotel in Norwich"
Mark240315, 18 Juin 2017

We booked a grand floor room in this listed Georgian hotel. Staff were very friendly, room and en suite was great, breakfast excellent, really easy and close to the city centre. Really enjoyed our stay. We checked in just for Friday night, but staff were happy for me to leave the car in the car park on Saturday as we explored Norwich

"Consistantly good"
h2orev, 07 Juin 2017

we have stayed here on our trips to Norwich several times. The food has always excelled as have the comfort of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. it is easy to get into the centre of town. why look elsewhere?

"Last minute business surprise"
Lspitzrn, 31 Mai 2017

Last minute, on the day booking after having lost faith in all the hotels in the surrounding area. What a big surprise. The staff are ridiculously friendly and accommodating. The Garden house room was literally an entire house. Well equipped and amazingly homely and comfortable. The food was spot on The gardens clean and bright I can't say enough about how impressed I was with this little gem. I will be booking my business stats here going forward.

"The Seafood Competition"
Denise C, 29 Mai 2017

Great reception when we arrived by friendly knowledgably staff, rooms nicely laid out and comfortable for an overnight stay. Dinner was lovely, nice menu choice, good presentation of the 3 courses we had. Restaurant and bar had a nice atmosphere and ambience Breakfast was delicious Quick and easy check out

"Plenty of character and perfectly placed"
JAS7578, 24 Mai 2017

Stayed for 1 night this hotel is clean comfortable and full of character. The room we had was large the windows could be opened fully. The room was well equipped and had a tea tray kettle and bathroom amenities the bed was very comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly. We only had breakfast, the hot food was cooked to order and was good quality and nicely prepared. You can help yourself to cereals and continental style breakfast. Perfectly placed to explore the City and free parking

"Best equipped room that I have ever stayed in"
CMH1935, 24 Mai 2017

I had a single room in the Coach House for 2 nights and was very pleased with it as there was just everything you could possibly need from a bathrobe to an iron. The great thing for me and oddly unusual in hotels was an inbuilt hair dryer right by a desk with mirror. Just so convenient and much appreciated. There was a car park, well marked and places right by the Coach House. An excellent place to stay but I did not have dinner, only continental breakfast so cannot comment on food.

"lovely hotel"
Andrew H, 17 Mai 2017

the hotel was easy to find and close to the town center. The parking was good and the staff at book in were very polite. The room was in the annex and it was a large room with a large bathroom which had a corner both with water jets the only problem with this is was very noisy. The bed was a king size but my only problem was that the mattress was very soft and I like a firm mattress. Evening meal and breakfast were very good and the staff were excellent and very polite.

"Great care"
Julie M, 16 Mai 2017

Had a wonderful weekend. Thanks to Donna & Shelley for their care. Lovely lounge & bar & beautiful meals. Cater for people with dietary needs. Would highly recommended. Will be back. Thanks for the service.

"Nice hotel near city centre"
LSW5A, 15 Mai 2017

Lovely quiet room clean and with a very comfortable bed. Our room was at the very top and the stairs were very narrow, steep and twisty. A challenge ! The bathroom was clean and large with two steps down from the bedroom. The lounges were comfortable and well decorated with period features. An easy walk into Norwich city centre.

"Very comfortable"
Glenis M, 07 Mai 2017

Just back from two lovely nights away staying in this lovely hotel. It's clean, well equipped, very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. We dined there on the last night and had a lovely meal too. I'll definitely be back as it's very handy for all Norwich attractions and easily accessible.

"Flawless!"
Forrester42, 29 Avril 2017

This is a real gem in the heart of the city. We booked a superior room, which was in its own separate building behind the hotel. There was keycarded entry for additional security. It is worth noting that there was another separate building outside with standard rooms as well as rooms in the hotel itself. They also had a Garden Room with private access to a garden so I would recommend calling the hotel to discuss your requirements. The room was superb with a huge bed, fabulous walk- in rainfall shower and lots of other little touches to make for a great night's stay such as proper sized mugs for tea and coffee, a room safe, conditioner as well as shampoo and body wash from a quality company, which smelled divine. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in! Breakfast was the best I have yet to come across in a hotel. The cooked breakfast was freshly prepared (none of the rubberised and over cooked rubbish on offer in the big chains). The staff was friendly and unobtrusive. There were two lounges for relaxing should you choose to. We had an Irish coffee before retiring. I would book this hotel in a heartbeat. Thank you, Annesley House Hotel.

"Avoid room 8"
homesteads, 28 Avril 2017

Arrived late and tired. Taken to room 8 on first floor up rickety staircase. Difficult to open two door handles at once which was required after key held to one of the door handles. It was a small single room nicely decorated but it was very very hot. The weather was cold outside and there was no central heating on. I opened the window to let some air in and closed it when went to bed. The fan in the bathroom although switched off made a low humming noise all night. I had to get up to open window because I couldn't sleep with the heat. The hotel is on the main A11 so a busy road day and night. the bed was very small and not very comfortable, I dread to think how a man would sleep comfortably in it. The pillow was good though!! but not enough to get me to sleep. The full English breakfast lacked flavour. Not a place to stay if you have any issues with hands or mobility, nice old building but watch out for trip hazards they were everywhere.

"Terrible customer service!"
Russell H, 27 Avril 2017

I booked this hotel to spend a night with my girlfriend the night after returning from Nigeria with work as i hadn't seen her for 7 weeks. Due to issues beyond my control, we were delayed nearly 48 hours leaving Nigeria. I managed to get a message to my girlfriend using a satellite phone (outcalls only) and she attempted to cancel the booking and get a refund. She was told they could only cancel if they spoke to me directly as i made the booking. It was impossible for my girlfriend to get this message back to me as we had no use of mobile phones or internet whilst out of the UK. On my return to the UK i attempted to claim a refund myself but was told they were not obliged to refund me as i failed to cancel the booking in time. What a load of rubbish! I've stayed here before but will never stay again or let any of my hard earned wages exchange hands with these thieves!

"Comedy of Errors"
Helen K, 23 Avril 2017

First time here for a one-night stay. Room 10: ground floor (but up three steps from reception), looks out over car park and A11 but the double glazing is pretty good so not much road noise. Some noise from the people above walking around and using their en suite - if you want a quieter room, maybe ask for one on an upper floor and at the back. The usual BW friendly welcome, and the room was spacious and comfortable BUT the fan in the en suite was faulty such that it made a lot of noise for the first minute or two before settling into a constant hum. I mentioned this to the receptionist, who said she would have a look, but evidently she couldn't do anything about it. There seemed to be some problem with the heating, it was chilly and the radiators stayed cold even when I turned them up to maximum, but there was an oil-filled radiator in the room. The trouble was, every time its thermostat turned it on or off, there was a loud click. That did not assist us to a good night's sleep, but we were too cold to turn it off. At least the bed was comfortable, and we did get some sleep, interspersed with periods of shivering frustrated wakefulness. Then in the morning: no hot water! We had to get up and go, so we had cold showers, and went for breakfast where for some reason the staff were very slow to clear and re-lay the tables; we found a table that had been cleared but not re-laid, and were able to find almost enough unused crockery and cutlery from nearby uncleared tables. The breakfast was good enough; the cafetiere of coffee was like dishwater; the self-service coffee machine produced (slightly) better. But then, when we checked out, and mentioned some of the problems we'd encountered: "No charge to you, Madam." Well, you can't say fairer than that. So while I cannot in all conscience give this hotel a 'very good' review, equally I can't give it a 'poor' review, because what more could they have done in the circumstances? I do know that our experience was well below the usual standards of a BW, and I suspect some of this was beyond the control of the staff on the premises. The hotel environment is pleasant, the car park and the location is very convenient, and I would give it another chance.

"Easter break"
Crabma, 17 Avril 2017

We stayed at the Annesley whilst visiting friends who live in the area. Upon arrival we were pleased to find ample parking around the hotel. The reception was organised and expecting us which is always good to know after travelling 200 miles. We were quickly given details of the services available and we settled into our room ( number 19). The room was clean and comfortably furnished in a traditional style. The room contained comfortable twin beds , a double wardrobe with safe and the usual matching drawers. Another large cabinet proved to house an iron and board. Flat screen TV and tea making facilities were also provided. The bathroom contained an over bath shower which proved to be quite powerful and the water very hot! We pre- booked breakfast and evening meals which proved to be superb with a wide choice. The meals were tasty, plentiful and well presented. A small bar and lounge provided comfortable areas to relax with pleasant and efficient staff. We enjoyed our stay and when visiting the area again the Annersley will be on top of our considerations.

"Small, but not quitde perfectly formed"
TJNLondon, 15 Avril 2017

An average rating might be slightly hard. The hotel is clean, the furnishings are good, there is tea and coffee making facilities and the prices for food are reasonable. It is a 5 minute walk from the City centre. I stayed in room 8 which is small. The bed was lovely. What has brought down my rating is the washing facilities. The shower was a fancy one - but it didn't work properly. I do not enjoy a trickle shower. I did ask the hotel to look at it but whether they did or not I don't know. There was no change. I also found it impossible to extract soap from the dispenser.

"Uni visit to see daughter"
MartinWG, 15 Avril 2017

Much improved from our last stay a couple of years ago. Stayed on a b&b basis and there must be a new chef who knows how to cook an egg - we sampled fried, scrambled and poached and all were much improved. Stayed in main part of hotel on second floor. This is not for the faint hearted - the stairs are steep, but the room was very comfortable. Anyone with any disability should consider first floor only.

"Another Excellent Stay!"
Andrew G, 13 Avril 2017

Spent three nights here, arriving Thursday 6 April 2017. Very much our "go to" place in Norwich, and no sign of that changing as far as we're concerned. Very reasonable rates; wonderful staff; excellent food; fantastic location. Enough said.

"Great place to stay"
Tracy L, 09 Avril 2017

We stayed here for the first time last night, it was excellent. Nice room, excellent shower, great location, fab breakfast and Barry on reception was very helpful. We will definitely return here when we want to stay in norwich in the future.

"Great food and staff"
gerristock, 29 Mars 2017

Have stayed here on a number of occasions and have always found the staff friendly and attentive. The food has always been wonderful. It always tastes amazing and has lovely presentation. The menu changes regularly and has a nice range of choices. The restaurant looks over a pretty garden and fish pond. The hotel has range of room choices, including a little house which is fully equipped , but some of them are quite small. Looking forward to our next stay

"Fab hotel in a great location!! "
Lindsay W, 27 Mars 2017

Stayed here for a romantic getaway for our anniversary and couldn't have found a better place to stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the rooms were stunning and very comfortable! The only negative is that you could hear some traffic from our room (we stayed in the coach house) but it was a lot closer to the road than the rest of the hotel and it didn't bother us too much. The breakfast was fantastic with options to suit everyone. The staff at breakfast were all friendly and attentive and kept it running smoothly. The hotel is in a fantastic location and very easy to get to. It's a 10-15min walk from the theatre, shopping centres and city centre. All in all it helped make our anniversary weekend perfect and we would definitely go back there!!

"Friendly staff but cold room "
tan223, 22 Mars 2017

Whilst the staff were so lovely and welcoming, I wouldn't return as not very good value compared to other hotels. The room was clean but quite small and it was cold. The radiators were cold at the top and luke warm at the bottoms and the hotel must have been aware as there was a portable heater in the room. Which I had to use. The bathroom was dated and very chilly with a huge sash window. It was clean though.

"Pleasant and Quiet"
Adrian H, 07 Mars 2017

I stayed in this hotel on business, although the rooms are quite small - I found it a nice peaceful room with a strong wifi connection and a decent workspace. It has a bath and a shower, and most importantly a very comfy bed! Breakfast in the morning also offers up a number of options, I would recommend this hotel for anyone requiring a quiet peaceful stay on a budget.

"Convenient and friendly"
h2orev, 26 Novembre 2016

Stayed here for 3 nights for the visit of the Glyndebourne Touring Opera. Hotel is handy for the city centre and on good bus routes. It is very comfortable, the bar is well stocked and the Continental Breakfast covers several continents! We have stayed before and will again.

"Excellent stay"
Andrew J, 22 Novembre 2016

We stayed in The Coach House a small block of rooms adjacent to the main house. The room was excellent. Decor was new and a good size. Really liked the bathroom which had a superb shower. Bed was really comfy. Pre-booked breakfast when checking in and so got it at a reduced price if £8 instead of £11.95 which when came to eat it made you realise just how good value it was. Really convenient location for the city centre and really glad chose this place to stay. Will be booking again next time in the city.

"EXCELLENT WEEKEND"
laurieHaverhill, 20 Novembre 2016

Stayed in the garden house ,This is a small house at the back of the hotel it has a Lounge/fully fitted kitchen with a large bedroom and bathroom upstairs everything you need for a self catering weekend. just a short walk from the town and shops friendly staff and good wifi,we will be staying here again.

"A very enjoyable and comfortable stay"
John R, 16 Novembre 2016

This is a quirky hotel just outside of the centre of Norwich. Rooms are spread over a number of separate buildings. Breakfast and dinner were served in a different building to our bedroom. The room that we had was comfortable, a bit dark (we were shaded by the trees outside the windows. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good - both dinner and breakfast. The restaurant was a bit overcrowded for breakfast- the hotel was fully booked. Parking is a bit congested if the hotel is full. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

"Luxury hotel at a great price"
William P, 08 Novembre 2016

The hotel is a converted Georgian mansion, with a lodge house offering executive accommodation. The single room was quite spacious and decorated to a good standard, with a comfortable bed and most importantly for me, a bath as well as shower. The restaurant offers superb food from a good menu range, with the option to opt for a 2-course set price menu if you are on a budget. Breakfast offering includes full English freshly made to order, as well as cereals, fruit and continental. All in all, a lovely hotel, close to Norwich centre offering luxury accommodation at a gret price.

"Norwich shopping trip"
Karen M, 08 Novembre 2016

This is a terrific hotel for shopping in Norwich took us exactly 6 minutes to walk into the shopping area, we had a room in the building next to the hotel it was quiet and had a huge bath. The food at the hotel was very good we really enjoyed it all, breakfast was nice as well, the staff were lovely very friendly and helpful. Would definately stay there again.

"Very comfotable"
Valerie P, 03 Novembre 2016

Another lovely stay at the Annesley House Hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I love the convenience of the hotel-only a short walk to Norwich city centre.

"Lovely "
Emma P, 31 Octobre 2016

Lovely hotel, staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only think that I found let the room down was the lack of water pressure in the shower. Room was clean and tidy with all the expected amenities

"Interesting stay......helpful staff...strange building"
Martin G, 29 Octobre 2016

As ever...my stay was booked via work. Not used this hotel before...but passed it hundreds of times over the years. Car park easy to find space....away from main road...safe as can be expected. Presented my BW card at check in......Donna (hope I have that right) saw a issue with my booking and card.....but I have checked BW site and points have been added....Thank you Donna. Awaiting BW reward team getting back to me on matter. I was in room 24.....second floor. I am not big build, but with ruck sack and couple of bags..my stuff plus work stuff I found stairs narrow. Found room 24 and nearly tripped as few more steps leading to door. dumped my stuff in room. connected to Wi-Fi.....took few minutes,as I have not stayed here before....so PC did not have auto connect.... went down to eat.....still finding stairs tight, twisting and would not want to exit in hurry..... Restaurant was in Conservatory......and as soon as I walked in...fish smell hit me....not a fan of fish...so was not over impressed with that...but it cleared. Elaine (I think) was working and brought menu over...fine dinning had a lot of fish dishes.....which I guess explains fish smell I had experienced. I selected soup followed by 10oz Rib Eye steak. Service was fine...not fine dine, but fine service. After meal I returned via the stairs to my room. Something I felt very UNSAFE in my room was two steep steps DOWN in to bathroom.....No rail.....and I think a very dangerous oversight in not putting hand rail beside steps. I can understand hotel probably converted old house..or such...ie not built to be a hotel, but the steps are dangerous. had a bath...but one of the silly short baths where I had my legs crossed to be able to lay down in the bath..... Spent evening streaming music LIVE via PC of RADIO CAROLINE..... Wi-Fi on the whole was fine....had few drop outs.....but nothing major. Bed was fine....bedding was rather heavy..... Large kettle...(if you read my other reviews, I take LARGE mug with me) and filled up was able to fill my bucket sized mug.... Breakfast in the morning...Donna now in restaurant with Elaine on reception.....was fine...cornflakes with juices (2 of my 5 a day)....cooked to order hot food. Donna had said on my check in to see Elaine in the morning re card issue...and Elaine had Donna help her before I had my breakfast....and as I said...BW points have been added. Thank you Donna/Elaine. To save my need to go up/down the stairs any more than I really had to I loaded my stuff in car when I came down for breakfast..... I like Best Western...this was a new one to me...while I have made comment re stairs (you need a rail beside bathroom steps) I would be happy to stay here again.

"Best kept secret in Norwich"
Stanley C, 28 Octobre 2016

Visited Norwich in October 2016, needed a hotel thats was near the city and found this wonderful cosy hotel with great comfortable rooms. Its actually an old mansion turned into a hotel, had friendly staff and best of all the food.... OMG - fine dining comparable in a beautiful glass winter dining room over looking a private garden, how exquisite. the hotel has its own parking so no hassle free parking. If you are looking for a hotel thats walking distance to Norwich city, has nice comfortable rooms, delicious food, and friendly staff, look no further - Best Western Annesley House Hotel.

"Excellent hotel"
Marian M, 28 Octobre 2016

We were lucky enough to be given the Garden House, which is a self contained unit with one bedroom and a living/kitchen area. It is at the rear of the hotel, so is extremely quiet. Everything about this hotel is first rate. Breakfasts are plentiful and freshly cooked to order. We also had our evening meal here for each night of our stay. Cannot recommend hotel highly enough for a Norwich city break.

"Easy walking distance"
ge0bel, 23 Octobre 2016

Good hotel with easy walking distance to city centre. Shame that you the heating isn't controllable from the room, if you get up before 8am the heating is not on. Also no hot water in the afternoon and after 9pm. Good breakfast and pleasant staff.

"Three superior stars"
David G, 23 Octobre 2016

Apart from constraints on room size due to the venerable age of the buildings, everything about the hotel exceeds 3-star expectations. The service is friendly and most efficient, the decor is inspired, the cleanliness is exemplary, the menus for breakfast and dinner are most ample and the food served is delicious. What is more it is only a ten minute walk from the. City centre, so saving the car-driver from the trauma of this traffic-engulfed city. All Best Westerns I have visited are good, this is even slightly better. Cato

"Perfect Location for a City visit to Norwich"
AmsterdamTulips44, 18 Octobre 2016

This is a quaint hotel within easy walking distance of the city centre of Norwich. The room was clean and comfortable and offered all we needed. The bathroom could do with some attention as the extractor fan was extremely noisy and the shower head did not provide an even flow of water. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was enjoyable. There is a lovely lounge area downstairs to relax and there is also space outside to enjoy sunshine when the opportunity is there.

"As you Expect from A Best Western"
sigoy777, 17 Octobre 2016

This is a nice place to stay and very close to the city centre. We visited the Theatre Sat night, and it was close by within a 5 minutes walk. As youd expect from a Best Western, very clean, tidy and cosy rooms, huge bathroom/shower with all facilities taken care of. Ample parking also on site. Couple of nice rooms for all to use for relaxing and a bar offering plenty too. Overall a Very friendly place, with helpfull staff, and will be staying here again. Many thanks to the Hotel.

"Another Great Stay"
Patricia L, 17 Octobre 2016

We have stayed at BW Annesley House Hotel, Norwich several times now. The hotel is very well located, being just a very short walk from there into the City. The public areas of the hotel are welcoming, clean and comfortable. Rooms are a good size and beds are very comfortable. The Restaurant offers two menu's to choose from, both of which are excellent. Staff are always friendly, polite and helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Norwich.

"Excellent hotel, food and staff"
JohnJoyce32, 14 Octobre 2016

Stayed here for two nights on October. Chose this hotel for closness to Norwich centre. Room was comfortable if not to our taste. The food was very good with a wide choice that catered for our differing tastes. Particularly recommend the oven baked loin of venison. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

"Lovely building "
Pamder03, 13 Octobre 2016

Stayed here for one night. Beautiful Georgian building, on lovely grounds . I stayed in a single room, which was small but comfy. Shower took some time to heat up and old fashioned hair dryer which didn't have much power. Enjoyed breakfast in a lovely conservatory. A very nice place indeed- but pleas get some new dryers for your female guests!

"Lovely visit"
Barbara M, 10 Octobre 2016

Ideally placed for visiting the city, the hotel is in easy walking disance to the centre. Hotel staff very efficient and friendly. Had a really good nights sleep although the room was very clean there were lots of water stains on the ceiling and walls.

"Excellent Welcoming Hotel!"
carmenthomas, 09 Octobre 2016

We have just come back from Norwich where my husband and I spend three days at the Annesley House Hotel ,I must say we were impressed as it was more than a 3 star hotel in its facilities, the room allocated in the annexe was large with a really comfortable bed large ,spotless batroom even a safe inside the wardrobe amongs other comforts. The restaurant served great food especially the fine dining experience was a delight (I did have the venison twice during my stay as it was that good!!!) Generous breakfast and most precious of all plentiful parking spaces!

"Another excellent visit"
Ian M, 05 Octobre 2016

I always enjoy my visits to Norwich and these are always the better for a stay at the Annesley House Hotel. A welcome reception and a very good dinner awaited me after a long train journey from Scotland. Excellent service and the soup here is always a strong recommendation with warm bread rolls. This year I tried a vegetarian option and on the basis of the chef's skill here, I'll be doing so again! My room was excellent in every way though maybe the shower water temperature could have been just a bit warmer. Breakfast was part self service and part to order and couldn't be faulted. This is a good friendly hotel and represents, in my view, excellent budget value. I'm already looking forward to staying here again.

"hen weekend"
Courtney H, 03 Octobre 2016

I can for my sisters hen weekend on the 3 of September and the room was tidy and clean but small and a bit crammed and the food was a bit pricey the people are kind and helpful but the restaurant was good and the food was nice the beds was single bed but they where to closes to each other.

"Wonderful Week"
Andrew G, 19 Septembre 2016

Often use this hotel. Have done so since 1995. Sometimes alone, sometimes with partner. We recently stayed for seven nights arriving 7 September 2016. Allocated room in annexe area, Walsten House, on ground floor -- room 30. Everything worked. Clean. Tidy. Very comfortable bed. Food superb, and as well as breakfast, ate twice in restaurant -- don't do that nearly enough. You can choose from a fine dining menu, or from a more general one. Doesn't matter. All wonderful. Service superb. There are times when an identikit chain hotel won't do, and this is where places like Annesley House excel. Worth trying if you intend visiting Norwich. Ample car parking, and only 10 - 15 walk into town with it's many good shops and wonderful pubs.

"Leisure trip"
Jennifer L, 16 Septembre 2016

Parking excellent, reception a bit cramped, no menus in room regarding evening meal. Room was in annexe, excellent. Evening meal a bit pricey.easy walk into Norwich . If slept with windows open can be noisy from main road.

"I do hope my boss doesn't know I don't need to come to Norwich "
Thewatchfuleye, 13 Septembre 2016

Booking in = first class, room = everything you need, very clean, very comfortable, coffee there for you and all you need in the bathroom - first class. Then as usual I bang on about the food, honestly, if you only eat out once this year you need to eat here. Scallops for starter venison main = first class. If you don't have someone to come with let me know and I'll come with you. And, if that's not enough, the service = first class! Keep up the excellent work

"Pleasurable Stay"
Paul D, 10 Septembre 2016

Very nice hotel, I stayed in room 33 which is located in a separate small annex with a little outside seating area. Rooms are quite spacious and well equiped with WIFI available throughout the hotel. rooms are clean and well presented, staff all very pleasant and helpful, Check in very quick and easy. Food of a very nice standard, Hunters chicken one of the best ive ever had. Would recommend for both business and pleasure.

"Pleasant Stay but tired hotel"
Csdodds10, 05 Septembre 2016

Pleasant stay. Hotel short walk (10 mins) from centre of Norwich. We stayed in house adjacent to main building, so quiet and our room opened onto a lovely patio. Hotel and rooms are slightly tired but comfortable and clean.

"Conveniently located offering excellent food and service"
Debbie L, 27 Août 2016

Recently stayed in this hotel with three friends. We all had very comfortable, clean rooms that were attractively furnished. The hotel staff were very attentive to all our needs and only too willing to help and advise us on transport, places to visit and eating out. The waiting staff were consistently friendly and cheerful and we were impressed by the standard of food on offer. Can't praise too highly all the hotel staff whose attitude contributed to our enjoyable week's stay. It only takes about ten minutes to walk along the road into the city so it is well located for a city break. Parking is on site and always available. An excellent choice for business and leisure. Highly recommended!

"A nice stay in a cosy hotel"
63Traveller355, 25 Août 2016

A very nice hotel only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Norwich. Good size room, a very hearty breakfast and a nice bar and lounge. Plenty of parking. The staff were very helpful and the morning waitresses very happy and helpful.

"Nice hotel"
Hawesy1, 16 Août 2016

Me and my wife had a 2 night stay at the Annesley House and it was really enjoyable. The hotel is in a perfect position for walking into the city.Lovely building with nice lounges with a small bar in one.The garden at the rear of the hotel was really nice, with a small pond holding some of the biggest fish I've seen. Our room number '10' was a good size, and nicely furnished, fitting with the character of the building, also nice big sash windows that actually open. There was things I think that let our room down, one being 'no lock on bathroom door' and and some of the decor could be freshened up with paint, apart from that good.Food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced, and staff very accommodating.Overall a good hotel and would stay there again

"Overnight business trip to Norwich"
June M, 10 Août 2016

Very impressed by the standard of this hotel. Rooms are furnished to a high standard but keep a real boutique style. Little touches such as china mugs for your tea in room make a real difference. Breakfast served in the conservatory which is in a real garden setting surrounded by lovely flowers, make for a real relaxing stay.

"Stayed for one night and felt like being on holiday"
Fiona J, 07 Août 2016

We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary a week early by booking a room for one night at this hotel. We thought we'd booked a simple bedroom and bathroom. On check-in, it turned out we'd been assigned a 1 bedroom flat (Garden House)! We had access to a private patio, a kitchen including: a fridge, cooker, sink, dishwasher, coffee-making machine. Supply of teabags (including de-caf), milk (in the fridge) and sugar. Bed was very comfy. Flat screen tv downstairs and upstairs. DVD player. WiFi (code provided). Cutlery/crockery provided. Clean and comfortable. We ended up buying stuff to enable breakfast self-catering, and it felt like we were truly on holiday. Would certainly recommend.

"Short Break"
Wendy G, 05 Août 2016

Highly recommend, welcoming staff, very clean and comfortable room in The Coach House. Breakfast Room/Dining Room very attractive overlooking the garden. The food very good both for breakfast and dinner and a bar/lounge with comfortable seating.

"Clean, comfortable and welcoming"
Valerie P, 27 Juillet 2016

This was my second time at The Annesley House Hotel. It is convenient for Norwich City Centre and it is clean, comfortable and welcoming. Excellent breakfast-a good range of hot and cold items. Very comfortable bed.

"I fully recommend! "
Judy B, 24 Juillet 2016

I stayed here for one night whilst making a theatre visit in Norwich. Annesley House is a great Best Western and I have stayed in quite a few. The room was beautiful, quiet and cool and I had a good nights sleep. Nothing was too much trouble and I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the lovely lounges and garden. I would fully recommend!

"Quaint and convenient"
PhillyFamily46, 22 Juillet 2016

Recently stayed at the Best Western Annesley House while in Norwich on a business trip and enjoyed our stay. While the rooms are small (we called them "quaint") and the amenities are not extravagant, the hotel is very convenient (you can walk anywhere) and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. The hotel has a small bar, which is nice after a day of work. We were not expecting much of the restaurant, but our dinner was quite good. There are a limited number of hotel options in Norwich, and I would recommend this hotel.

"Comfortable one night stay"
bloke333, 21 Juillet 2016

Attended daughters university graduation and stayed over one night. Very nice and friendly staff. My wife and I had a double room in the coach house block and this was large, comfortable and newly refurbished ( I would say). It had a large rain shower room and also a large fan for what was the 2nd hottest day of the year! My other daughter had a standard single room in the main building and it was small, hot and stuffy. The fan had no impact on a hot sultry night, making sleep fitful. This, of course, is not the hotels fault and being a listed building, air conditioning is not an option. However, it was for one night only and Breakfast was very nice, with a discount for booking well in advance. Would stay here again.

"Spacious & comfortable"
Rowan M, 20 Juillet 2016

Stayed for a night here having been before, it's a very nice hotel close to the city centre, the receptionist who greeted us was very cheery and upbeat despite the weather being super hot!! Our room was in a separate house across the car park, I loved the old style features. The accommodation itself was wonderfully decorated with lots of space as well as an en suite bathroom with a spa bath! My only very slight criticism would be that our room was right next to the busy main road on the ground floor so if you aren't used to sleeping with traffic that could be a problem. Overall, a very pleasant stay and would definitely come again to explore more of the grounds!

"Rather dated hotel"
abs, 20 Juillet 2016

We arrived rather late and managed to get the last space in the car park. We had quite a heavy suitcase and found that our room was in a separate block and upstairs. The room was clean but the room really mirrored the rest of the hotel in the predominantly brown furnishings - seemed quite dated. It would have been nice to see a bit more colour - I can remember having brown curtains in the 80s. It was a warm night and we had to open the windows but we couldn't sleep all night because of the noise from the road. As we were staying another night, we asked if there was a quieter room for our second night. We were given a much smaller room, which, at the time was fine by us but again, we opened the windows because of the heat and there was a constant noise from a large pipe outside of the room. Breakfast was adequate but there was a phone-in programme on the radio and we had to listen to a man who was equating Brexit with happenings in the bible - not really what you want to listen to on a holiday break! Perhaps some music would have been nicer or even no radio at all. The hotel was in a good location to the city but although the staff were pleasant I think we'd choose something a bit more special and welcoming next time.

"advice"
Michael T, 18 Juillet 2016

Very good for viewing Norwich, its historic sites and for good food restaurants. Everything is in walking distance, the hotel it self is lovely and the people are friendly. I would say it is the best option for families and business trips to the city. The countryside around Norwich is also worth visiting with the Norfolk broads not far north on the town

"Lovely place to stay!"
Consuelo B, 15 Juillet 2016

We spent three nights in a lovely room in the carriage house. We had full English breakfast each day and two dinners. Room was well appointed, quiet, bed comfortable and large with fine bedding. The food was very good for a hotel restaurant and wait staff was efficient and friendly. The hotel is close to the old part of town, but buses stop right outside if you don't want to walk. Highly recommend!

"Wedding lunch "
Hellonorwich, 13 Juillet 2016

I had an amazing lunch on my wedding day , food was lovely every body enjoyed, the manager is lovely and everything was just perfect , we could bring our own wedding cake and flowers and the table looked lovely ! We will be going back for our anniversary meal every year , the garden was lovely with the pond , the bar inside is cute , just what I wanted for a small intimate family wedding lunch .

"Lovely hotel overall"
BlueFox17, 12 Juillet 2016

My girlfriend and I spent two nights at the Annesley House Hotel recently. On arrival at reception we were greeted by a female member of staff who checked us in and advised us where our room was. We were asked (in what I felt was a rather uppity manner) if we wished to order any meals etc. The hotel itself is housed in a number of buildings, reception, the restaurant and some rooms in what was the main house, our room was situated in what used to be the Coach House. It was on the upper level of two and was lovely. We had a slight issue with the heating controls, but the room itself was very comfortable and very quiet. Was very impressed with the hotel itself, however breakfast at £11.50 was extremely expensive, so we did not eat at the hotel at all.

"Super"
Neil H, 12 Juillet 2016

Staying at the hotel for 3-nights. I have a super room with lots of space, very well appointed. Staff are excellent and the meals so far have been super. Tried to book for next week, only to find out that it's fully booked so somewhat disappointed. Will definitely stay again.

"Pleasant surprise!"
Jane W, 04 Juillet 2016

This is the second time I've been to a hotel this year. This hotel was far better than the previous one - more comfortable, more welcoming, quieter and a good location too. I didn't know Norwich at all before this trip. Staying at this Best Western hotel added to the weekend, making it a very pleasant trip. The hotel is walking distance from the city centre, which made it easy to meet up with family and friends who live in the area. Great!

"After a rocky start, had a pleasant stay"
blondie303, 03 Juillet 2016

We stayed here as a group of 4, celebrating two birthdays, just for one night. Unfortunately we decided to come to Norwich on the day of the parade, this caused absolute carnage around the city centre because of many roads being closed and people trying to find diversions. The entrance to the hotel was actually one of the roads which was closed therefore we could not get down it. We rang the hotel and asked what can we do and they suggested parking down a road and walking to check in, but they did not mention every single road in Norwich seems to be permit only! The journey from city centre where we had been shopping to the hotel should've been a 15 minute car journey, this took us 1h and 45m. The hotel had said they sent emails to every customer prior to this weekend stating the issues we might have, but no one in our party received this. We asked why they couldn't call us to warn us but they explained they could not call 50 guests. They did give us 40% off the rate of our room as we felt this was not acceptable, the manager eventually tried to be accommodating in circumstances which were out of his control to an extent. Our room was nice but bathroom could do with modernising, we stayed in the separate building after asking for a room with a bay window. Our friends stayed in the main building where reception is and their room was definitely smaller and slightly more dated. Definitely ask to stay in the separate building if possible. The downstairs area was much more modern and was nice to sit in the bar area after having dinner in Norwich. The location of the hotel was good.

"1 night stay, ahead of UEA open day"
Darcy T, 02 Juillet 2016

I stayed in an Executive double with hubby, and daughter had a Standard single. Beautiful building, with pretty gardens. Bar, Lounge and Conservatory, where breakfast is hosted. Rooms are in separate buildings, which was great for us, but if you have younger teens, might be worth checking with the hotel if you want them closer. The single room was very small, gorgeously cute, but not suitable if you're blessed in the height department, luckily we're more hobbit proportions, than basketball player :). Executive room, huge comfy bed, in beautifully decorated room, with lots of thought given to the little extras, such as a docking station for you tablet, and HDMI charging point. Waterfall shower and standard shower in a genourous sized cubicle. White company toiletries and hairdryer. I slept really well, hubby is a lighter sleeper than me and closed all the windows so as not to hear traffic. Breakfast was lovely, the waitresses are clearly well trained and excellent at their jobs. I recommend the hotel and only wish we had stayed longer.

"Lovely Hotel in Norwich"
Robert S, 29 Juin 2016

Great Room clean and tidy well presented hotel nice friendly staff cannot comment on food as I didn't eat there Menu's for evenings meals looked good Breakfast or even Toast Juice or Coffee could have been included in the room rate

"Nice hotel and Staff"
Gary R, 28 Juin 2016

Nice Hotel and Staff, Food was great, and had drinks and lunch in Garden. We had room at top and found the Stairs hard to get up with a bag that is the only thing wrong, 100% we would return to the hotel

"Lovely tree lined road into Norwich"
conrad r, 27 Juin 2016

Stopped here for one night for wedding anniversary, close to city centre, within 10 minutes stroll. Hotel very quaint, we stayed in the adjoining house Walsten House all in same grounds. Nice room, bit dated but all in all, nice and comfy and clean. Bed really comfy. Stayed in that evening for dinner, quality food and staff very friendly. Cosy lounge areas for afterwards with plenty of room to relax. Breakfast also freshly cooked to order and very tasty. Enjoyed our mini stop over, well placed for city centre, just far enough out. Would recommend. Nice décor in restaurant which is a conservatory overlooking garden and fishbone. Seemed more elderly guests were present at the time of our stay.

"Fantastic Visit to Norwich"
WelshDragon25, 23 Juin 2016

Our stay in the Annesley House Hotel was way above our expectations. Superb staff, accomodation, convenience for city centre and car parking on site all made it a huge success. Our friends made the booking but we could not have done better ourselves, full marks to them.

"Exploring Norwich?"
Ian M, 21 Juin 2016

A great, friendly, value for money, 3* hotel on the edge of the city, well located for a first time visit to this lovely historic city. Walking into town - we arrived by train - was an easy flat stroll of about 25mins past many interesting sights and, of course, the odd shopping mall, on the way to the castle and cathedrals of which there are two, like Liverpool. We had an executive room which was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfasts were excellent and unusually, freshly cooked to order, whilst we took advantage of the range of juices, cereals and fruit on offer. Tea. coffee and hot toast readily available. Looking for a base to explore Norwich? Look no further!

"Exactley as expected - good service, good food and pleasant staff."
David B, 21 Juin 2016

Annesley House is a great place to base yourself when visiting Norwich. It is within walking distance of the centre (about 5 - 10 mins) but far enough away not to get any 'noise'. The place itself is not a modern hotel and built up of several annexes all on the same plot. The rooms are very comfortable, the service is great and the food is excellent. I have used this place 20+ times on business trips and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

"Wonderful Staff"
cliff H, 15 Juin 2016

Just a one night stay, Saturday, (visiting to see Rod Stewart at Norwich Football Stadium). Arrived 12.30 for 13.00 earliest check in. Reception willing to try to see if room ready but I said not to worry as we would go into bar for a drink and sandwich. This caused the only complaint I have. We were told that they had a large function on and so could not offer any food. Not really good enough in my view but the staff were so friendly and otherwise helpful, Room was good size and standard. Very clean. Breakfast was very good. Happy to store our luggage until we left at 2.00p.m. long after check out of 11.30a.m. Would definitely recommend as very good value hotel.

"Excellent overnight stay"
Homelovingirl, 14 Juin 2016

Short overnight stay, So close to city centre. We stayed in the annexe. It was quiet but cosy even though the hotel is on a busy road. Had a delicious breakfast in the conservatory. Staff very helpful and pleasant. We will be back soon.

"Great hotel"
Rjkt15, 13 Juin 2016

Quite close to town, but outside the congested area. Wonderful breakfasts - good selection of fresh fruit, croissants, cooked breakfast. This is made to order rather than being left standing in hot serving dishes - I do hate the luke warm and rubbery texture of most hotel breakfast these days. The staff are polite, helpful, cheery, chatty and know exactly what they're doing. We had 3 very comfortable nights here and would recommend it to anyone.

"No faults"
CanaryMatt, 12 Juin 2016

I decided to treat my wife to an overnight stay here for our wedding anniversary. Our room was in a annexe off the main building and was very spacious, clean and had a spa bath. My wife was surprised to find a 'decent hairdryer to deal with her thatch' and the room was equipped with a docking station for ipad. The restaurant was lovely and the food was amazing. The sirloin was cooked to perfection and was served hot. I would definitely come here again despite living only 5 miles away.

"Lovely hotel"
maggienmal_11, 09 Juin 2016

Stayed overnight at Annesley House Hotel to go & see Rod Stewart concert at the football ground. Ideally situated 15 min walk to the city centre; 15 min walk to football ground. There is plenty of car parking places at the hotel. The hotel itself was lovely and the staff very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was good but had to pay extra for it which made it quite an expensive stay. The reason I have marked this hotel down is purely because of our bedroom. We stayed in room 24 which is at the very top of the main building, at the top of some small, steep, winding stairs. This made carrying luggage up & down extremely difficult. I know someone has to use this room but to put two 65+ in there seemed inconsiderate. There were also steps to go down to the bathroom, precarious at night. The bathroom was pokey and the flannels we were supplied with were dirty. As it was an attic room it was extremely hot during the night & as it was on the main road it was quite noisy with the window open.

"Super Hotel in a super location!"
delmi_battersby, 05 Juin 2016

We have just returned from a 5 night stay ay the AnnesleyHouse Hotel in Norwich. The location is excellent, being just 5 -10 minutes walk from Norwich City centre. Access from the A11 is incredibly easy - just follow the signs to the City Centre and the hotel is on your right just after The The Eagle pub. After checking in with the ever-cheerful and helpful Donna, we settled into our ground floor room - large enough, well equipped and spotlessly clean. After travelling all day we opted to eat in the hotel Retaurant. This is pleasantly situated in a very large and airy conservatory linking two parts of the hotel. The comfortable bar with it's chiming grandfather clock makes for a very convivial start to the meal. You can order your food here while you have your pre-dinner drinks. The food is EXCEllent! and served by the friendliest and efficient staff. We heartily recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

"Difficult to fault"
vernewood, 04 Juin 2016

I usually manage to find something to find fault with and I hardly ever give 5-star but I have to make an exception for the Annesley Hotel. We chose this hotel as being an attractive-looking property with peaceful grounds within walking distance of the City Centre. Yes - it is all these things. Also very nicely maintained inside and out, two comfy lounges, three good nights' sleep, excellent breakfast, helpful staff and proper beer (Adnams) in the bar! We were slightly concerned about being on the main Newmarket road - needn't have been. Very quiet at night. All in all, we were very pleased with our choice and would have no hesitation staying again if we re-visit Norwich.

"IDEAL LOCATION"
aranty, 02 Juin 2016

Good hotel in quiet location even though on main A11 road. Selected for on-site free parking as opposed to many city centre hotels. City only few minutes in car. Using postcode my satnav took me to road at rear [no access] so stick on the A11 "Newmarket Road" where entrance easy to spot on approach. Would use again and agree with other reviewers' favourable comments.

"warm welcome, and walking distance of the city"
ian1232015, 31 Mai 2016

just had a weekend here with my wife and i cannot compliment the staff enough on their hospitality skills. From the moment we arrived to when we left nothing was too much trouble. Add onto that the comfort of the room and the generous breakfast and you're onto a winner. The hotel is a short walk from the city centre and all of the main sites. The only minor issue was the shower which wasn't very powerful.

"Magical break"
trevorfuller1, 29 Mai 2016

Made very welcome, staff very polite and helpful. Very handy for town centre and visiting Plantation gardens and the cathedrals, all within twenty minutes walk. Rooms very comfortable. Our stay was in Walsden House to the left of the main building. No hesitation in booking another stay if staying in Norwich again

"Friendly and homely"
Paul M, 28 Mai 2016

Made very welcome not just one of a crowd! Very handy location for the city centre and cuts out car parking costs. Very nice meals. Rooms were good. Only negative was the noise of the hairdryer from another room at 6am. Would stay again.

"lovely quaint place"
Amy T, 27 Mai 2016

stayed twice now, when visiting my university last year and the night before i moved into my accommodation in september! lovely rooms, comfortable with everything you need!! food is amazing!! breakfast was yummy... choice of full english and also a basic breakfast of toast and cereals. a close 10 min walk to the city centre

"A little gem"
manwithasuitcase2016, 26 Mai 2016

Visited in December whilst on business in the city. Stayed in the separate house to the left of the hotel. Room large & well decorated. Had an apartment feel due to size & extras such as a DVD player. have since tried to re-book but has been full which is surely the sign of a quality establishment. Will hopefully use again in the future.

"A very friendly well appointed hotel for business or leisure"
Romsparkle, 25 Mai 2016

I stayed 3 nights at the Annesley Hotel recently. The room I was given was well maintained and really quite pleasant. The decor was modern but not minimalist or austere. It was a refreshing change to stay somewhere that wasn't corporate or too stuffy. Lovely quality sheets, dressing gown and towels. The water pressure on the shower in the room was quite poor although I forgot to mention this at checkout. Breakfast was lovely, a choice of continental or cooked breakfast that arrived speedily and hot. Dinner had a good choice on the menu, although a little pricey at £8+ the toasted standwich was very tasty. There is a nice lounge and comfortable bar area for the evening. The highlight of my stay was the reception staff and breakfast staff. They were all really knowledgable, approachable and really friendly. The all came accross as loving their job. The cleaner was friendly too, did a great job of keeping the room tidy and clean and said hello too. They are an asset to your hotel. The hotel is only 10 mins walk into Norwich center and the shops and restaurants. Norwich is a lovely city and I will be back and stay at the Annesley House Hotel of course! Thank you

"A find"
NigelP_10, 13 Mai 2016

Comfortable hotel with excellent food and helpful staff. Plenty of choice at breakfast with freshly cooked food, and a really good dinner on the one evening we stayed in. Location very good, easy to get to with enough car parking. The decor in our bedroom was a little dark and formal - other rooms looked lighter and brighter. We left something in the room by mistake and the staff were kind enough to find it, contact us and send it on by post - a very nice gesture.

"Shopping Spree"
bumblebees67, 09 Mai 2016

Have just returned from a great visit from this fabulous hotel. The staff are very obliging and nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfasts are wonderful with a great choice. In the rooms there is plenty of tea & coffee to make for yourself. We had dinner with them for one evening and again the standard of food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend staying here and wouldn't hesitate to return.

"pleasant last minute stay"
claire a, 06 Mai 2016

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. We booked on the day we were going. It was easy to find, plenty of car parking and grounds were very well kept. The building has kept a lot of the original features and was clean and decorated nicely. Staff were friendly and checked us in quickly, explaining all we needed to know. our room was in separate building. It was spacious and had everything we needed, little cool but soon warmed up. bed was very comfortable. We went into the city, just a 5-10 minute walk. Had we seen the menu at the hotel, we would have stayed as it looked fabulous. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked well, presented nicely. again, staff were friendly. Dining area was clean and bright and looked freshly decorated. check out was easy too. had a quiet drink in the bar. I was dubious about going at first as so close to city, but it was worth going and i wouldn't hesitate to book again, price was good too

"Best place to eat and stay"
Thewatchfuleye, 03 Mai 2016

This was my 4th or 5th visit, and I have to say I would not consider staying anywhere else when my company sends me to Norwich. Even when I couldn't get a room I still booked in to the restaurant because the food is better then 95% of the places in London. Add to that the excellent service, excellent value for money and you get an excellent stay. Well done all, keep up the good work, hope to see you June or July.

"Excellent Stay"
Jill O, 03 Mai 2016

My family and I were clearing out my father's flat 1/2 a mile away so we needed a bit of luxury nearby.A good breakfast and a good night's sleep in comfortable beds before we returned to Bournemouth. All of these were achieved in the Annesley House Hotel.

"Great value stop over"
Ian P, 25 Avril 2016

I found this hotel to provide everything I expected. It was easy to find, close to the city centre, had secure ample parking, friendly staff and clean, well equipped rooms. It was also cheaper than any of the budget hotels you would normally think of in the area and came with a bit of individuality and personality. The restaurant was also very good offering two menus geared to high and low budgets. I've no hesitation in recommending it and will certainly use it again the next time I'm in Norwich

"Stayed on a Friday for a visit to the theatre"
Gary H, 21 Avril 2016

Great location with a short walk to the city centre. We had an executive room next to the main hotel. Lovely large room and great bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Great breakfast served piping hot. Easy free parking and free internet that works.

"Great hotel for the price"
Jessica536, 20 Avril 2016

We came here a one night stay for my partner's birthday. The room was very clean, had both a bath and a shower, it was perhaps a little outdated but that didn't bother us. The room was just very very warm, only found out how to turn the heating off the next morning which was our fault! Most staff were lovely and friendly apart from one gentleman who checked us in and served us at the bar, that's why we knocked a star off. Great location, 15 minute walk into town on the main road.

"Another excellent week-end in Norfolk"
snowyrob, 18 Avril 2016

This is my second stay at The Annesly House Hotel and it is the only hotel I would consider using in Norwich . The rooms are excellent , superb dining and plenty of car parking . The city centre is only a short walk away

"C & S Wirral"
StephenWilliams2014, 13 Avril 2016

Another great Best Western hotel, my wife and i stayed for three nights and could not fault anything, lovely pleasant courteous staff, lovely room, lovely food in the restaurant. a lovely lounge to relax in. thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

"Plumbing Problems"
R4750ZZelained, 11 Avril 2016

Most things about this hotel were fine... but extremely low water pressure rendered the shower out of order. There was barely a slow trickle. The loo wouldn't flush either for the same reason. Alternative accommodation should have been offered elsewhere. I'll probably avoid Best Western in the future as this is not good customer service. This otherwise would have had a five star recommendation from me.

"Excellent hotel"
Alison I, 11 Avril 2016

We stayed for 2 nights, arriving at 10:45pm on our first we had a warm welcome and were given our room key. We were in the coach house and the outside was well lit. The room (41, Executive Double) was spacious and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was modern and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Full English breakfast on both mornings was delicious, the staff were very friendly. It was raining on the first morning and there were umbrellas in the coach house so we could reach the main building without getting soaked. I don't have a single negative comment to make. Thank-you Annesley House Hotel for looking after us so well.

"Visit Norwich"
Megan C, 05 Avril 2016

Great hotel to stay to visit Norwich walking distance for sight seeing. Staff very helpful good english breakfast, room very clean.would like to stay again plenty more to see in Norwich. Surrey House is a must a sight to be seen free and beautiful.

amyj123x, 02 Avril 2016

Visited on 3 occasions over 2 months, I was anxious as traveling alone but have felt very welcome. I'm sad my course has finished and won't be returning!! I would recommend, close to city, clean and friendly. Will have to find an excuse to visit again!

"Expected Better."
belbox09, 27 Mars 2016

When I first made my booking I specifically requested a room that wasn't facing the main road due to me being a light sleeper. Upon arriving we were directed to room 10 which faces the main road/car park. I spoke to the duty manager and was informed that there were guests that were staying for 2 nights so they had to move several guests around, this told me that their value was greater than mine. I informed the manager that if I had known about the room issue before travelling nearly 4 hours I probably would of stayed somewhere else. We settled into our room the best we could. The next issue was the most ridiculous ironing facilities, a small unusable board that folds out of the wall that was ill placed in the room. The next issue was the low powered shower that took several minutes to get warm, surely a power shower should be fitted? I certainly didn't enjoy the mass of creaky floorboards above us, so with road noise and noise above us what else could be of issue. The bed. I don't think the mattress has been changed or at least rotated in quite some time. Both my partner and I didn't sleep well as she often rolled into the middle of the bed and we both slept with our feet elevated, again not good. Oh yes, there was a nice bath robe in the wardrobe, just the one so I supposed we could of shared it. Any positives? The breakfast was good and the waitress very friendly (but you have to pay extra for the breakfast) Also the location is very good, the town centre is 10/15 minutes away walking. Cheaper hotel brands have delivered much better.

"great place to stay"
richard c, 24 Mars 2016

the hotel is very clean and tidy, but has a very relaxing atmosphere, the staff were all very friendly and really helpful. The room we had was very good and to a high standard. we were a little disappointed however with the shower which was lacking in pressure, we did mention this but they were unable to improve it. the breakfasts range from a quick getaway or continental or full English, all of which were well presented. full English was perfectly cooked and good quality. in the evening there is a choice on menu including fine dining, we ate in the lounge as we had been sightseeing all day and had eaten well at lunch decided to have the whitebait starter as a main (menu's very flexible) it came with the largest chips ive ever seen. thoroughly enjoyed our meal and relaxed as if we were at home. we will certainly return.

"Good base to explore Norwich"
David P, 21 Mars 2016

Ten minutes walk from the city centre, this lovely small hotel makes an ideal place to explore the delights of Norwich. We had a great weekend and would recommend it without hesitation. Rooms are either in the main hotel or in satellite buildings - we were in the Coach House (4 rooms) which was quiet and cosy.

"Ideal hotel for UEA parents"
Adam R, 18 Mars 2016

Comfortable and very friendly and helpful staff, though large double bed is 5' not 6'. We asked for a quiet room and were put in the Garden Room which is actually a separate two floor suite with full kitchen facilities. The dining room was full on the Saturday night and the menu looked very good - in retrospect wished we had just fed our son there rather than traipsing into the Cote Brasserie which was very noisy. Breakfast first rate. Easy walking distance to centre.

"tracing family history"
mandod321, 17 Mars 2016

A small but quite outstanding hotel. The staff where very helpful and the food outstanding . I would like to thank Barry and his team for looking after me so well. my room was quite small but very cosy and very clean.

"Fantastic food!!!"
sttimmj1, 15 Mars 2016

If you stay here you must done in the restaurant!! The food and service is fantastic!' Have stayed here 3 times now due to daughter being at Norwich university The only negative things to say was that the room was very cold on arrival and that the shower wasn't that good

"An excellent hotel"
Paul C, 13 Mars 2016

Very comfortable caring helpful staff and excellent breakfast. Some rooms now looking a little tired but they are being renovated one at a time. Good bar but evening meals from the cheaper menu were not as good as a restaurant where fresh food is cooked on the premises.

"Good Location & Nice Communal areas"
abbytravel, 11 Mars 2016

Hotel location is very good for central Norwich, just a 10 minute walk. Bar and restaurant are very nice. Breakfast was great (I didn't have dinner). Staff very friendly and helpful. There is a reasonable amount of free parking. I had a single room and although it was fine and had everything I required it seemed a bit pokey and the bathroom was a bit formica. I can't comment on the other rooms though.

"A lovely hotel"
Jan F, 06 Mars 2016

We would definitely use this hotel again if we re-visit Norwich. Very clean, nice decor and great breakfast. The staff were also very friendly. The hotel is very convenient for the town centre - ideal for shopping and theatre and restaurants.

"Annex"
Carl S, 03 Mars 2016

We booked 3 nights here through the main B.W. website using our points for a free nights stay. This means the first night is room only so breakfast is not included. No problem there , just a warning to any who might not realise this. The girl on check in was Shelley who is absolutely great. She made us feel welcome and put the deal into a neat package as the website had made it a 1 and 2 nights stay in different rooms. We were given a large room in the Annex to the left of the main building . Superb facilities and service all round. Breakfast is a Cereal /fruit buffet followed by table service for a cooked version if desired. Our table service was very good from a young girl whose name escapes me , everyone was always very professional and polite. Cannot wait to stay here again when time allows .

"Perfect"
Jamjudyjam, 26 Février 2016

Delightful, friendly, helpful and convenient for the city with a lovely, comfy, well appointed room. The beds were great too. Breakfast was good, parking was easy and we really couldn't have asked for more.

"Great location, spotless hotel"
Widget09, 22 Février 2016

5 minute walk from town, hotel well situated with ample free parking. Staff very attentive and room was spotless, tea making facilities, large wardrobe, bath and shower. Breakfast was very tasty, plenty of choice from fresh fruit and cereal to a delicious cooked breakfast. Stayed for 2 nights and had a great time, couldn't fault the hotel or staff. Have booked up for another stay in March.

"Short Break whilst Bedroom Redecorated"
jacqueline B, 12 Février 2016

We have stayed at Annesley House three or four times now and have never been disappointed, it is so convenient for the City Centre and marvellous shops, all the usual major department stores, plus Jarrolds, Norwich's own unique department store, superb! There are also numerous little side streets where you can wander and find interesting and unique individual shops, a shopaholic's dream. But back to the Hotel, it is a mixture of four or five buildings, some are rooms within main buildings, some in an annex and some converted from the coach house or garden house, but all are immaculate, very clean and comfortable, and despite sitting between two major roads in and out of the City, noise levels are well within the comfort zone. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and it so reassuring that the same faces are evident on each return visit, they obviously enjoy working there, and greet you as old friends. The food cannot be faulted, and again the kitchen staff are so helpful, so even when they get awkward customers like us that want to mix and match and play about with the menu they are more than happy to oblige. So yes, more than happy to recommend Annesley House for any kind of visit, business, social or like us leisure, confidant you will not be disappointed, and do enjoy the Fine City of Norwich.

"Stayed 1 night as a couple weekend in Norwich"
Cathy L, 11 Février 2016

We chose this hotel for its location, walking distance to the centre of Norwich. Only took 10 minutes so perfect location. The staff overall were excellent, attentive and friendly, nothing too much trouble. The room was spotless, warm and even though at front of hotel very quiet. Really nice relaxed atmosphere in lounge bar. Breakfast delicious. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

"Very Cosy Hotel"
AJWM41, 06 Février 2016

A one night stay whilst on business in Norwich. I would recommend this hotel. It is just a short walk into the city centre and also has ample parking available. The staff on Reception and elsewhere in the hotel were efficient and friendly. My room was in the annex but it was clean and comfortable. I ordered a room service evening meal and breakfast - both were delivered promptly and were of good quality. Overall, I thought the hotel offered good value for money. The only slight gripe I had was that it would have been nice if the heating had been put on in the room prior to my arrival, particularly on a chilly February day. However, the three radiators in the room soon got everything warm and cosy. Will book here again next time I am in Norwich.

"Norwich central"
Jon B, 05 Février 2016

Booked hotel for visit to Norwich Theatre Royal. Ample parking and great service throughout from the staff. Walking distance to city centre. Bus stop size shower, no bath (not that I cared). A good start from Best Western options.

"hotel in Norwich"
Barbara P, 04 Février 2016

The hotel is within easy walking distance of Norwich city centre giving access to shops, restaurants and attractions; the hotel looked well cared for and was warm, clean and well decorated inside. We were welcomed by reception staff, given our key and directions to the room which was very big and comfortable; both the bedroom and bathroom were very clean and although the bathroom was of an older style, it was well equipped with plenty of towels and bath robes. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and good service on all three mornings. We only had dinner once, as we were visiting relatives, but it certainly deserved its two rosettes and we wouldn't hesitate to eat there again. We very much hope to stay here again in the near future.

"Overnight in Norwich"
John S, 03 Février 2016

A very comfortable hotel within walking distance of the city centre. We were there for only one night (although I have stayed there twice before) and were on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast was excellent.

"Excellent staff"
Chris G, 30 Janvier 2016

Just stayed one night at this hotel, must say how brilliant the staff were, ,good clean room, Huge shower. Every thing you could need in the room, breakfast was excellent, really set you up for the day

"Two Night Business Stay"
Gr8ServiceSeekersUK, 29 Janvier 2016

Always stay here when in the Norwich area. Short walk into the city. Friendly staff, good food and a high standard in general throughout. It is a quiet and friendly hotel where people seem to return quite frequently.

"Very comfortable and friendly hotel."
Jill O, 23 Janvier 2016

I come up about 3 times a year to visit my father who lives a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. I find the location extremely convienient with a bus stop outside. The hotel is very relaxing, providing a wonderful breakfast, everything I need in the room and good value for money.

"A gem"
Jenny H, 21 Janvier 2016

Not in the centre of Norwich but with bus stops outside or 5 mins walk from start of main shopping street. A small hotel with comfy quiet lounge and also a bar area. The 2 buildings are linked by a corridor with a grapevine, but no heating on coldest few days on the winter- a very minor concern however.Staff friendly and helpful. Shame it was too cold to use the lovely outdoor garden area, will go in summer next time. Room tastefully decorated and calming.

"A friendly retreat"
FrequentVisitor16, 16 Janvier 2016

A very good, well managed and friendly hotel with a welcoming and well ordered ambiance. On the southern edge of the city centre with good car parking. Cosy bedrooms with modern bathrooms. Good breakfast options with attentive staff. We did not use the restaurant in the evening.

"Lovely Hotel"
Dislatts, 15 Janvier 2016

Spent a couple of nights here in-between Christmas and the new year. Check in was quick and our room was in a separate block which was nice and quite. It was large with a huge bed. Bath had a spa in it. All clean and tidy. We had breakfast on both mornings which was freshly cooked and wonderful. Only a 5 minute walk into town which had loads of shops and pubs. Would definitely stay here again. Great service.

"Wonderful winter break"
Britraveller99, 12 Janvier 2016

Decided to take long weekend break after Christmas/New Year to relax. Chose Norwich as we did not know the area and wanted some sea air and view the town. We were not disappointed. We booked the Garden Suite as we prefer not to have large meals and are happy to self cater. The facilities are excellent, with comfortable lounge area, full kitchen and very comfortable bedroom upstairs. From check-in to departure all of the staff were extremely helpful. We had a very good evening meal on Saturday. Norwich is a delightful town with great Castle & Museum. Easy to reach from the hotel with lots of shops, tea rooms, market to enjoy. We then drove to North Norfolk coast (about 1 hour) which has wonderful walks and bird sanctuaries. We were lucky with the weather but this was an ideal break. We'll be back.

"Good hotel close to Norwich centre"
Sylvia L, 10 Janvier 2016

This well situated hotel offers very pleasant, quiet and comfortable accommodation, much thought is clearly given to decor. The restaurant is a light, cheerful place. I thought the evening menu this time was less inviting than during my previous stays - I suppose it was winter food, I have stayed in the summer previously and found the food very good. The reception area is a little cramped, but it doesn't matter a great deal. I had a particularly good room price deal this time. I have stayed there three times and if I need to be in Norwich, I will go back again.

"Average"
Mr M, 09 Janvier 2016

Freezing room, quiet though. Miserable and gloomy lighting (low energy lamps). Clean yet depressing and aged bathroom. Toiletries and tea making supplied. Clean bedding and towels. Bed was comfortable. Price slightly high- All in all acceptable and 'meh'.

"Mmain Summer holiday"
Trevor K, 03 Janvier 2016

We had a spacious room on the ground floor of the converted second georgian building that is 20 yards from the main hotel. Situated on a main bus route and about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Norwich, with all its amenities. A nice pub selling good food is 100 yards away. The hotel restaurant is very nice although not cheap. Breakfast very hearty and well presented, staff friendly and helpful. Car park is private and spacious enough. This is a genuine edwardian building with attractive unique features.

"A wonderulf find !!!"
barrymThorpeBay, 02 Janvier 2016

My wife booked this for a one night stop-over. After our last experience at a Best Western, I was somewhat nervous. How wrong I was !!!! Proper staff, proper well maintained rooms and cleanliness of a high degree. Thanks to all at Annesley House. A great room that HAD SPACE. Why are all Best Westerns not like this. Eleven out of Ten...

"Great Hotel"
John S, 31 Décembre 2015

This Small Hotel had everything we wished for, helpful staff, a warm clean comfortable room, wifi throughout and very close to the city centre (10 min walk). We will deff stay again next time we are in Norwich

"Nice enough"
SeanJ41, 31 Décembre 2015

Good parking, rooms very comfortable ( a little small) . Could do with a proper shower in this day and age rather than a mixer shower. Friendly staff, who were helpful. Very reasonable price for rooms - didn't have the breakfast as that seemed a bit steep

"Lovely hotel, ideal location"
Vicki_J_French, 22 Décembre 2015

We stayed for a shopping weekend before Christmas in Norwich. The hotel is a little dated in places, but both the communal areas and our room were spotlessly clean and well cared for, and the conservatory restaurant where we had breakfast was lovely. The hotel is fabulously located just ten minutes easy walk into Norwich. Breakfast was lovely and the staff friendly and polite.

"christmas stay"
Gary F, 20 Décembre 2015

Could not fault this hotel was exactly what we wanted.ideally located for shopping in Norwich.very pleasant and helpful staff, excellent food and clean rooms, would highly recommend and will be using again

"Cosy"
Tovfonsea, 16 Décembre 2015

Second stay here for a Christmas shopping weekend. Nice cosy hotel . Didn't have such a nice room this year though . Both times we have been in the Walsten House annex . The rooms are nice enough , although the bathrooms are a little tired and have been in place for about 20 odd years by the look of it . It's very clean and the breakfast is delicious although we found the breakfast coffee very bitter but that's personal taste and the tea bags to be if poor quality . The location is perfect for the shopping area of the city and it's an easy 10 min walk. The staff are really friendly and hard working . Lovely service by the pretty waitresses in the resturant which is a nice modern conservatory . We will definitely go back there and hopefully be allocated a room in another part of the hotel to be able to compare the accommodation . Our room was an upgrade from the standard so I would be reluctant to have a standard one in case it was even more dated as I enjoy a bit of luxury when on a weekend break . All in all it's a good hotel for a few nights away in that city and the food and general Cosy feel makes it a good winter break choice

"Very good location, great room, helpful staff"
Tardelli2014, 11 Décembre 2015

Great hotel for a short break in Norwich. Excellent room with very nice staff. Stayed a couple of nights and walked to the town. Good parking facilities and a great location. I will be staying here again.

"Value for Money"
Adam M, 30 Novembre 2015

Annesley House Hotel is a very special Hotel where all the staff care about the level of service and standards they deliver to all guest. I stay at this Hotel around 30 times per year I also stay other Hotels around 40 plus times and the level of service and standards operating within this Hotel are far higher. I would use the word Care to example the Hotel staff as they all genuinely demonstrate complete empathy and care about the guest - this is a rare experience I can tell you. The quality of the food on offer is also much higher than a standard hotel. The rooms are well fitted out and everything works as it should.

"Great location, lovely hotel"
NomNomNomming, 29 Novembre 2015

Less than half a mile from the city centre. I stayed in one of the attice rooms with a marvellous comfortbale, king sized bed. It;s three stars but the facilities in the bedroom are at least that of a hour star! The hotel has good parking and the reception staff helpful. I would definately stay here again.

"Very comfortable stay"
Fowlies, 25 Novembre 2015

Recently stayed at this hotel an I have to say for the money it was very nice and comfortable. It wasn't far from the centre of Norwich and they let us park our car there the next day while we went shopping. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was nice and the staff were so helpful. Our room was in a house to the side of the main hotel, which for us was very suitable as I could park my car right outside our room. Only slight criticism was that our room had paper hanging down on the ceiling in one corner but apart from that the room was very adequate and cosy.

"NEXT STOP K2!"
jimkinge, 24 Novembre 2015

Clean, pleasant room with a particularly comfortable bed and the staff were helpful and efficient. The restaurant menu would cater for most tastes though it was a pity that in some instances the food was served in silly metal baskets and on pieces of wood - what is wrong with china plates and dishes? We were also disappointed that the mobile phone ban in the restaurant (advertised on the hotel's website) was not enforced. Finally, guests being allocated rooms 23 or 24 should be warned about the narrow (dangerous) final flight of stairs – the agility of an ibex was required to scale the stairs safely, alternatively ropes and crampons would have been helpful!!!!!

"Lovely cosy hotel"
Debdeb22, 21 Novembre 2015

Very clean, beds very comfortable. Windows can be opened (I like fresh air!), tray with tea, coffee, herbal tea, biscuits, complimentary bottles of water. Breakfast included selection of cereals, juices, continental meats cheeses and pastries, and full english cooked fresh to order, served hot by smiley waiting staff - excellent! Free parking on site for easy ten minute stroll to town so no need to move car. Comfy lounges. I agree shower water pressure not great, so have a bath instead. I would definitely recommend.

"Great One night stay"
Steve G, 16 Novembre 2015

We have stayed here before and left car in hotel before checking in and walked into Norwich. This hotel is a great location for this. The room was very comfortable but a bit tired in decor. Warm and comfortable with tea and coffee supplied.

"loved it"
msdrywhitewine, 15 Novembre 2015

What a lovely hotel - very quirky and quaint. Stayed her for my birthday and to do xmas shopping. About 10 mins walk to centre (and what a great shopping place). We had a room at the top of winding stairs which would not suit elderly or anyone with walking problems but there are ground floor rooms. There is a small bar and separate lounge area. The receptionist was friendly and the young girl on breakfast was really bubbly and helpful. Would definitely return...

"Very friendly - amazing beds!"
markystewart, 14 Novembre 2015

Very nice and friendly place! Lovely and quiet and some beautiful seating areas for relaxing! The can be somewhat temperamental, but all issues resolved swiftly. Probably the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in! Truly a great night's sleep and very reasonable bar prices too!

"Average hotel, average pricing"
ShivvieAng, 09 Novembre 2015

Selected for a work visit to Norwich. Room was pleasant enough but the bathroom was a little old fashioned, with absolutely no water pressure. The hair drier was attached to the wall and after a few minutes became too hot to hold in your hand. Breakfast was good, with generous portions. Check in was efficient, although the manager was grappling with a new system, she was pleasant and helpful with directions. Not all the rooms are in the main house so as a single female traveling I was a little concerned about the walk to the separate building late at night.

"Pleasant stay"
rawSurrey, 09 Novembre 2015

We were visiting family and wanted an overnight stay. The room (10) was large and well equipped. Despite being on the ground floor and facing the main road it was very quiet, if not rather warm despite turning off the radiators. The bathroom was a little tired and the shower rather weak but all in all adequate. Breakfast was extra but was lovely and the waitress very smiley and efficient. The staff generally were good , especially the bar man who was very helpful. I would have no qualms about staying there again.

"Adequate"
stix80, 02 Novembre 2015

Arrived around 10pm on Friday night after a day at work and a 3 hour drive. The bar was still open and we had called ahead to let the hotel know our time of arrival. The member of staff on reception wasn't very friendly. No offer of a map or information about Norwich. As it happened, we were visiting family so didn't need advice, but it wasn't a very good welcome for anyone new to the city. The room was ok - at the top of the building via lots of sets of steps and winding corridors. Good size bathroom and comfortable bed. Great location and very easy to walk into Norwich city centre. Breakfast wasn't included so can't comment on that

"Still Delivers"
Andrew G, 28 Octobre 2015

Have used this hotel since 1995, if I remember correctly. Keep going back, either on my own or with partner, as it remains an individual haven amongst so much corporate blandness. Room clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast. Excellent staff. Good room service. Ate in dining room on only one evening -- excellent. Helped organise flowers, cake, and champagne for my partner's birthday. Fantastic. Short walk to city centre to enjoy the many cask ale pubs Norwich has, so make use of hotel car park and leave vehicle there. Keep on doing what you do, and doing it very well.

"Visiting the family"
Colin D, 23 Octobre 2015

Spent 3 great days visiting family that we hadn't seen for along time in Norwich. This hotel is a great location for any stay if you want to see the city. All the service and staff are great. The food evening or breakfast is very good.

"Will stay again"
mdp2012, 22 Octobre 2015

Stayed 2 nights midweek whilst visiting the city for business. My room was a good size, clean and no issues. Nice breakfast each morning with a good choice. Friendly service from all staff and will definitely book again next time i visit. Just a quick 10-15 minute walk into the city centre

"A perfect weekend."
davoinoz, 19 Octobre 2015

A very big thank you to all at Annesley House for making our family get together the great success that it was. Apart from this, we really enjoyed our stay in the Garden House, a most comfortable suite in a great hostelry. The location is perfect, the facilities perfect And the dining was, well, perfect. All in all, it couldn't have been better. A huge thank you to Annesley for making our visit - perfect.

"Excellent location"
sttimmj1, 15 Octobre 2015

Love this hotel - few minutes walk from the city . Plenty of parking on site and very welcoming staff Rooms were very big - both our double and my daughters single unfortunately lots of noise from other rooms especially door slamming Rooms are modern with all mod cons but the corridors and reception a bit out dated. Breakfast was excellent in a very bright conservatory area. No lift in the building which wasn't ideal

"Odd mix"
Vickers55, 13 Octobre 2015

Old fashioned hotel. Room I was in was on 2nd floor. Up very narrow stairs. Small with too much furniture and a tiny bathroom. Rather old fashioned. Warm and comfortable bed. Dinner good and good size. Had well pan fried salmon. Breakfast ok, but buffet bit not very inspiring. Comfortable. Close to town. Parking.

"Convenient for city"
Joe W, 05 Octobre 2015

I chose this hotel for convenience of walking to the city but with parking. I was staying in a single room and travelling with friends staying in a twin. The front desk manager is very efficient but could be a bit brusque. The lounge, conservatory and gardens are really impressive. The breakfast is lovely and cooked to order. As others have said, the single rooms may not match up to the other rooms. The bed was soft and old, underneath the nice covers, the knob was falling off the bathroom door and there was a loose towel hook. It was a suitable stay for the walking/parking issue and the breakfast, although sleep was not the best.

"Brilliant golf weekend"
Gary T, 03 Octobre 2015

Stayed 2 nights and played golf clubs around Norwich. Perfect location to walk into town. Plenty of good bars and restaurants. Excellent breakfast and staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location and facilities for a restful and enjoyable leisure break.

"A joy and delight!"
Ian M, 30 Septembre 2015

My visit to Norfolk this year began with an overnight stay at Annesley House Hotel in Norwich and, as last year, I was very glad that I booked in here once again. This hotel has considerable character; is welcoming and cheerful: and boasts a wonderful grandfather clock in the lounge bar. This chimes magnificently and can be heard whilst in the dining room! My diner was excellent in every way––nice attention to warm bread rolls and pats of butter and a splendid soup to start. A nice choice of mains makes for a well composed menu and the choice of house wine on offer (I had red) was very pleasing indeed. Breakfast was very well arranged––self service plus a cooked 'to order' and once again, exemplary service. I will most certainly want to stay at this hotel again when I next visit Norwich.

"Small hotel near centre norwich"
Cora O, 23 Septembre 2015

We choose this hotel due to its proximity to Norwich centre. The hotel was in easy walking distance to town and tourist attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was located outside of the main hotel complex, in a small house to the left. The room was on ground floor, it was very dated and in need of modernisation. It resembled nothing like the website pictures of rooms. We were a little disappointed so spent little time in it. The wi fi was not working on arrival, but a member of staff did act quickly and got us connected. We eat in the restaurant on two evenings in the hotel, the food was of a high quality on both occasions.

"Great character, good location"
CherylBruce, 21 Septembre 2015

We stayed in the Garden House which turned out to be a good choice. It includes a separate living room with kitchen, which was fitted with everything you might need including all the appliances. My favorite part was having the bedroom upstairs. There was a TV on both floors.
