Best Western Ocean Sands Beach Resort

My husband and I took a quick trip to Myrtle Beach for a concert at The Alabama Theater and we stayed here. Prices were very reasonable for Oceanfront. The employees at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, the room was wonderful, the pillows and bed were very comfortable and the view of course was awesome. The Tiki bar at the pool served great drinks and the server was very friendly. Parking is a bit ehhh.... but I feel like that's most places in MB.

It's the perfect beach hotel, and a comfortable stay every time (I've been visiting at least twice a year for the last 5 years). The staff is wonderfully accommodating and friendly, and the location can't be beat! Nothing fancy--although the rooms are getting renovated, even as we speak--but you can't beat this beachfront hotel for the price and convenience.

Room #104 is beyond an epic failure, the mattress for the king bed should have been replaced years ago, it has huge wear patterns in it, and we could feel the springs really bad, I asked to change rooms after day one because of the mattress issue but the staff declined to change rooms for us. I was told 4 days later when we were checking out that someone was supposed to have changed the mattress 3 days earlier for us which obviously did not happen. The bathroom door does not fit correctly in the door frame and wedges (got worse with humidity) in when shutting to the point that after the 4 days we stayed the paint was flaking off and all over the floor. The sliding door to the balcony required us using two arms and a lot of force to open and close it which could have been a huge safety issue if there was an emergency, I'm assuming the sliding door on the room above us also had similar issues as it scared the heck out of us every time the people above us opened it, it sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. The HVAC unit rattles badly to the point of waking us up multiple times during the night. The only positive things I can say about our stay was the staff serving breakfast was very friendly and efficient at their jobs, and the location being on the beach.

Our room had new carpet and furniture! Bathroom needed a bit more attention! Over all clean. Enjoyed the tiki bar in the pool area! Disappointed to see bioengineered food served at breakfast! It's a older place but they are updating. Enjoyed our stay

Gorgeous view and the balcony is protected so you don't get the wind as bad. Beds are comfy and it's close to everything. The continental breakfast is good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. You can't beat free parking.

What a great oceanfront hotel with the best hot breakfast at a reasonable price! Entire staff is awesome, they make you feel right at home. Housekeeping is great, and Dan the manager is especially awesome and so easy to work with. I highly recommend to anyone.

This place looked great in pictures but was terrible in reality. It was like out of the 1970s, never updated. Our room was dingy and dirty…sand on the floor, mildew, toilet didn't work. Bed had NO mattress pad - sheet directly on the old mattress - ugh! Don't stay here!

Always stay here on our almost monthly trips to Myrtle Beach! The hotel is very nice, the rooms are always comfortable and clean, and the staff, from the front desk to maintenance are always very friendly and efficient and helpful.

This was our first stay since 2018 at this property. We stayed in room 1011 on January 23rd and 24th. The location has limited parking at the building but has a parking area across the street. We are Best Western Diamond Select members and our room was automatically upgraded upon check in. The 10th floor views are beautiful We did have some comments about the room upon departure, none of which had an impact on our stay. We always take into consideration the location and time of year, yet like to let staff know if something in the room may need attention Front desk staff was appreciative of the information We did not utilize the breakfast at the hotel. It's very visible the hotel is doing the yearly winter paint and refresh. Our room had been recently painted and looked great. We also noticed all the light fixtures appeared new and were very bright. Everything we needed to utilize in our room worked appropriately As a tip the water needs to be ran for a while during the winter to get the hot water flowing especially being on the 10th floor. Also, light switches for the kitchen can be found behind the microwave and on the wall at the refrigerator. We would consider staying here again

Stayed at Best Western Ocean Sands for a quick winter getaway from the cold at home. Enjoyed some great seafood and post holiday shopping. North Myrtle Beach is nice and quiet this time of year and really enjoyed our getaway

The view from my room was spectacular. The king size beds were extremely comfortable. The room was extremely clean. I loved staying there. I will definitely be back. The breakfast was hot and delicious and very clean as well. The housekeepers were amazing the breakfast attendants were amazing and the front desk attendants were amazing also.

My husband and I stayed at this location about a year ago and it was great, however this past weekend was not. The room needed updating and the carpet was worn, the tub stopper was not working; we only had 1 bar of soap and no decaf coffee. This place had really gone downhill! Won't stay there again.

This was our second stay at this location in the past seven months. Each time we arrived after traveling 13 hours through the overnight hours. Needless to say when we pull in we are exhausted and often much earlier in the day than normal check in. Both times the property staff has welcomed us warmly and did everything possible to get us into a room ASAP as they could see how exhausted we were. The hotel is clean, breakfast food amazing, and staff all extremely friendly/helpful. Will always stay at this property whenever we are in the area.

We have stayed at this property several times. Overall, the stay was okay. We were in unit 411. The housekeeping staff and front desk staff were cordial and helpful. The beds were comfortable, but the lingering smell of chlorine bleach used on the sheets was strong. I would NOT have rented an efficiency suite if I had known the kitchen was so poorly equipped. The room was advertised to hold up to 6 people but the kitchen only had dishes (plates, bowls, cups) for 3-4 people. There were no glasses, only paper cups. There were 3 forks, 4 knives, 1 spoon and a poorly functioning can opener. There were only 3 cooking pans with no lids, no bakeware, no mixing bowls, no measuring cups or spoons. The cooking utensils consisted of 2 large spoons and a spatula. The knobs on the oven were stripped out and didn't work properly. There was an odd odor in the room, which we eventually discovered was a combination of the cleaning chemicals and the odor of urine coming from the sheer curtains in the bedroom area. They reeked of urine! The door to the room was warped and didn't latch unless we tugged or pushed on it to make sure it clicked in place to know it was actually locked. So, next time we will either rent a regular room or find other efficiency room accommodations elsewhere.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Yes, it is definitely a little older hotel but they have the nicest staff ever and it is very clean especially being right on the beach with all that sand. Shelly at the tiki hut by the pool was so sweet and made the best drinks. we had the greatest view from the ninth floor but I believe any of the rooms would give you a great view.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else , clean, staff very friendly Been going here for over 30 years , now the kids bring their families . Breakfast was good tiki bar is great enjoy coming there every year !

Older property, (1972). updated in 2019 but still showing it's age. Not as nice as in the hotel's pictures. It is in 2 separate buildings, so we had to walk next door for the breakfast. The pool and lazy river were much smaller than we thought they would be. We asked for and got a beachfront room with a balcony. That was what we paid for, really. Overall it was nice, staff was friendly and we had a pleasant time.

The hotel isn't super fancy but it is clean. The double queen suite had plenty of room for us (4 adults). A full size refrigerator. 2 TVs. There's also a Murphy bed and a pullout couch. The view from the balcony was spectacular! Easy access to the beach. Friendly staff. Parking is across the street, but it's not far from the elevator. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely stay here again!

The entire staff-Manager Dan included was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The bed actually slept amazing! The parking was adequate. Breakfast and internet was good. Plenty of shops close by. Restaurants are close and some are ocean front dining. Beach access is right by. They have it all without overcrowding.

We had a great time staying at this Best Western! Every single one of the staff members we came in contact with said hello and were very friendly! April at the front desk was very helpful in explaining the property and even provided some dinner recommendations. Every morning she greeted guests with a smile on their way to breakfast. The breakfast was delicious! We honestly couldn't believe breakfast was included! The biscuits and gravy.. delicious! The pool area is a fun place to relax, have a drink and enjoy the sun and view. It's also very close to the beach. The bar tenders at the Tiki Bar, Michelle and Kirsten were great! The pool area has touch tunes which was nice!! We all had a great time! Michelle's got some good hits up her sleeve lol. The rooms were a little dated, but they were very clean. The views from the balcony are nice! I will definitely be staying here again!!

The staff was wonderful. We had great drinks at the Tiki bar. We enjoyed the pool and the lazy river was relaxing. The free breakfast was OK with a lot of choices Room was clean but needed a little touching up.

Love this hotel. Staff works hard and it shows. They deserve all the credit. Couldnt be happier with how our stay went. Nothing to complain about. Will definitely be returning and can't wait to come back.

The staff was very accomodating and informative. The tiki bar bartender was very friendly and shared personal experience on local topics. The only issue was parking caused by construction. Room was very clean and spacious. The only thing the room may have been missing was pans to cook with. It was not a problem..we chose to dine out.

Great customer service! The staff were so friendly, especially Jamie at the front desk. She was so helpful with parking instructions as the front lot is small. Housekeeping staff worked very hard to keep rooms clean on a daily basis. Such a great place to stay.

The staff are great. Facilities are a little bit older, but well maintained. Could not ask for better view or access to the beach. Breakfast was nice as the hot bar menu changed each day. Location is great for access to barefoot landing and Alabama Theater.

Room very dirt, smell like super old, sofa broken, sink drainage cap broken, mirror frame broken, carpet wet, TV super dirty, in coffee machine inside old coffee for last guest, electric stow rust and dirt, all wall dirt need paint.

My wife and I visited Myrtle Beach for a week and we found this hotel to be clean and the staff was very friendly. to be an older physical plan it was well kept. there is plenty of parking and conveniently located on the beach.

We stayed from August 15th to August 25th, the staff was friendly and took care of our needs and what was missing...So welcoming and always smiling.... Great location (especially waterfront)....Breakfast was great every morning. A little downward was the mattress, the stove and was missing plates, cups and utensils.

This was the most filthy hotel we have ever stayed at. Selected this hotel after reading good reviews so maybe we just had a bad room. Stayed in old south tower and was pleased upon checking in to learn upgraded to ocean view room, however noticed night before that ocean view rooms were being discounted to same price as regular room when I booked weeks before arriving. Pool area was never cleaned, no towels provided so we avoided that. Breakfast room so small & crowded we had to sit outside and could not finish breakfast due to flies. Beach was nice. Room was damp the first night, floor was wet/damp as was bespread but the bed was comfortable and seemed clean. Sofa was pretty gross and so old it felt like it was from five decades ago and there were stains on the wall behind it. The bathroom was real gross and we were given a handicap bathroom we did not ask for that was a real turnoff (photos included). Water kept seeping out from under the sink area where the wall met the floor in the corner, not from splashing on the sink so we had to keep drying that with a towel to avoid stepping in it (drain water?). Could not control the water temperature in the shower which was too hot. We were just passing though and not staying long so we just stayed in that room instead of asking for another room and decided we would never book another Best Western room ever again. Feedback from manager after filling out a solicited email survey was inadequate as he/she seemed to justify by saying we were upgraded to an ocean view room even though the price on the website for that room was lowered to the price of a regular room. Could not find a person in the lobby upon checkout at 7AM so left card keys on counter and could not wait to leave that place. Yikes!

Great location and value! Staff was very friendly. Excellent pool bar and beachfront area. There are many restaurants within a short drive as well as Barefoot Landing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and will be staying here again myself!

We came here 10 years ago on our honeymoon and enjoyed the stay immensely so we decided to return on our 10 year wedding anniversary, since our last visit the rooms haven't changed much and we noticed the pillows have shrunk and you get more of them, we enjoyed our stay but the air conditioner was pretty noisy and the bed wasn't as comfortable as the last room we had in a previous stay, the curtains are pretty tattered and wasn't doing a good job of keeping the sun out for sleeping in and noticed a few holes in them as well, they could use some up grading in the hotel for sure, The shower pressure was very nice and the massage head was great, the bathroom sink had very weak pressure and needed to have the screen cleaned out and it would have improved it. Having the kitchenette was worth having, it came in handy one night when we had a huge rain storm and didn't want to go out to eat. The staff was very nice and friendly and our house keeping lady was fantastic and a real sweet lady and deserved the tips we left her. We will stay here again for sure having ocean view from the room was worth the value alone and a beach that wasn't crowded with a million people was perfect. we never tried the breakfast at the hotel but the smell of waffles was very tempting but we love going out to breakfast.

Amazing staffed, we really enjoyed the breakfast. The prices of the room was a great value. I will definitely stay here again on my next beach trip. The room space was big enough for my family. Quiet area.

The motel is a little dated in decor. But the staff is wonderful, the rooms are clean and the ocean is just outside your window! The Tiki bar is convenient and stocked with non-alcoholic options! The value for the price can't be beat!

Starting at the front desk they were very helpful in checking us in when we got to the room, it was very clean in the morning we went down for breakfast. The staff was very well managed, and the food was very good. housekeeping checked on us every day to make sure there was nothing we needed and I found the staff overall very friendly.

Home away from home. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and stocked with toiletries. Delicious Contential breakfast with a waffle maker. Easy walk to the beach. Tiki bar with a lazy river is amazing. I love the location. You're close to everything. Will continue to keep going back again and again.

I've been going here for years, and it's always a place a look forward to coming to. Michelle at the front desk was beyond kind when my husband and I checked in late. She ensured we found a parking spot and got checked in without any issues. The housekeeping staff are so kind every time you see them in the halls, and they keep your room extremely clean during your stay. Not only can you stay ocean front, but there are two pools and a tiki bar on property which is awesome! Kirsten's drinks were great and she's always a ray or sunshine which is refreshing. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough when staying in North Myrtle Beach! Can't wait to be back next year!

Amazing staff (front desk-Michele I believe) from the time we checked in (late at night) to be checked on by multiple staff including Dan, Kirsten, and Janie Bell (sorry if my spelling is off). I've stayed in most types of accommodations from hostels to 5-star resorts around the world. As a first time stay I was shocked at the attentiveness and visitor oriented approach. Thanks for making my short but memorable visit one that will be repeated in years to come.

Stayed at the Best Western Ocean Sands for a week. Had a blast. From check in to check out, great stay. The room was clean, the bed was really comfortable and property offers lots to do. We used the lazy river and hung at the pool. And the Tiki Bar was great.

The stay at Best Western Ocean Sands did not disappoint. Room very clean. staff excellent as always. Always saw staff smiling. The pools were maintained to high standards. Wil definitely visit again.

If you get the two room suite for you another another set of adults be prepared for zero privacy. The main door opens directly into the bedroom. It might be good for two adults and small kids but that's it. If you are getting the standard room, you should be good. The value was good, the location was good, and the staff was fantastic but whoever designed the floor plan needs to be fired!

There are three people that make this Best Western exceptional. Kirsten and Shelly will make you want to stay at the Tiki Bar. Amy at the front desk should be the Face of Best Western. She is exceptional with her interaction with Travelers. I can't say enough good things about her. These three will make you want to go back and back and back.

This hotel is awful we stayed a week ago as soon as we arrived and got to our room housekeeping pounded on door twice said she had to check room to make sure it was clean then stared our belonvs down then came back said what is ur name and said ther was a mix up with room she called cront desk spoke with them again eyed our stuff the whole time. Phone cord kept falling out of phone she told them we needed new phone and we advised her our stove wasnt workin so she told front desk then she told us someone would be up no one came at all to chk it or bring new phone and we were there for 3 days. We had bran new clothing taken from room as well.mold on lamp shade room. Washer was out of order. They have small parking lot so was forced to park across street which made it hard as we had a disabled person in our party. Breakfast was awful and room was very small andd

The staff were outstanding. The rooms were very clean. Beach was beautiful and steps from the hotel. Pool was clean and the lazy river was fun. Best hotel breakfast ever. Going back next year! Worth the 10 hour drive.

Worst hotel I've every stayed at, its extremely dirty, unkept, and about 30 years outdated. We found bugs in the rooms, rodents, stains on the beds, mold everywhere, cobwebs and dirt throughout the hallways. Cleaning staff doesn't seem to clean the rooms during your stay or vacumm prior to check in. An older man that would yell at you for staying at the pool too long or entering the breakfast area too early. Only one elevator, that seems to have a mind of its own. The parking situation is very inconvenient

This hotel needs to update and repair just about everywhere. It has the feel of an old hotel that only gets repairs when you complain. The view of the ocean is great, But, then you walk back into your room and it feels dingy, dirty. I felt more comfortable sitting out in the heat than sitting on a stained old couch I had to cover with a sheet. The sliders to the patio needs updating and the curtains are so stained they need to be trashed. The fridge had rust marks on top and door bottom. I hate to say it but I'll never go back to this Best Western. They have always been my go hotel. This place has tarnished your respected name.

Website pictures and "Resort" label are appealing at first. The Annex room, however, was dark and smelled like mildew. Even the Lysol spray couldn't cover it up. Not a good representation of a Best Western Plus.

Everyone was smiles, staff is incredible. From reservation, check in/out time. Right on the beach, over the dunes. Perfect place to just be lazy & be on the beach/pool all day. Room was slightly dated, but very clean. Can't wait to be back summer 2025. Definitely get a comfy place to stay for not tons of money.

Great service and friendly staff. The breakfast was wonderful, many choices to choose. The beach was steps away. I had a balcony and could sit there and enjoy the views. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. My room had a stove and refrigerator with dishes

Pleasure family trip, we enjoyed our time. The advertisement is misleading.,We (our group) were given rooms without a view of the ocean, when the advertisement suggested “ocean view”. There is a view of the ocean after leaving the hotel which is a more accurate description of where we were assigned.

This was by far one of the filthiest hotel rooms I have ever had the displeasure of staying in. Disgusting floors, ceiling tiles falling out in the bathroom, hairs in the towels and on the baseboards.

Staff was amazing! They actually had breakfast (full spread). The rooms were very clean and comfy. The views from the room were great and they had a great pool area if you didn't want to go to the beach.

Indoor Pool and hot tub were closed for repairs ace and there was no notice on webpage, confirmation email, or at check in. Carpet was old. Staff was super friendly and helpful in recommending good places to eat. Breakfast was similar to other breakfasts but there was an attendant to obtain your food choice which was MUCH better than the usual buffet crowding. I might stay here again.

..I stay here 2-3 times a year, and I'm always impressed. It's not the Waldorf Astoria. What it is is a wonderful, economically-priced beach hotel, staffed by friendly and caring employees. Clean, safe, wonderful location, with a staff genuine concerned about your comfort. Perfect getaway every time!

Alone for the first Thanksgiving in years my wife and I headed to the beach. We hit the jackpot with this Best Western. The rooms were clean and in great shape. The view was everything you could ask for, and every member of the staff that we talked to was pleasant and helpful. We have already booked our next stay.

I called several hotels in the area just for a night away with my wife along the beach. I called Best Western they were truly helpful and caring. I was quite pleased with the room and knew my wife would be happy. Great experience.

Perfect vacation place to relax and listen to ocean pick up seashells and walk miles on a hard pack beach !!!!!! We are definitely going back !! Would definitely recommend to anyone at any age it is really close to everything groceries, restaurants, clothing stores etc !! you will not regret !!

Great place except the bathroom, we did not understand why the clerk gave us a handicap room. It has nowhere to put our toiletries except on the back of the commode which I have a problem with and a very small glass shelf and our things kept falling off.

Our room was extremely run down with the smell of bleach throughout the room, locks on both doors did not work, and no hot water just to start. The best part of our room was the beach, which was fantastic along with the balcony.

Oceanfront suite, beautiful view, really great experience overall!! Our only complaint was when we tried the biscuits and gravy for breakfast, the biscuits were rock hard. Otherwise a wonderful stay!! Thank you!!

My husband and I stayed 11 nights at the Best Western Ocean Sands Beach Resort and it was amazing. The staff especially at the front desk Amy was unbelievable and displays the best customer service I have ever witnessed. The hotel is exceptionally clean, breakfast is served first class due to Covid, staff is friendly and willingly to help. We will certainly be coming back!!

The staff and facility are great! We have stayed at Ocean Sands many times and have never been disappointed.It is our "go to" place at North Myrtle Beach. It is in a great area and is very family oriented.

Amy at the front desk made a great first impression and the good vibes lasted through the whole stay. I got a better rate walking in than online/advanced booking. Shelly at the poolside tiki bar was great. Pool was nicely heated with plenty of towels. I was in 612, an oceanfront king efficiency. The room showed some use but it's understandable; it's the end of tourist season. Breakfast had waffles, fruit, muffins & premade breakfast sandwiches. The people working here are it's greatest asset. I'll definitely stay here again.

This hotel is extremely clean, comfortable, the staff bent over backwards to make sure our stay was exceptional. The full hot breakfast was very good. There was a variety of food offerings to fit any palate. Beach access very convenient. We will definitely stay here again.

I requested a room on the 6th floor and that was exactly what I got. The room was clean and spacious. Out side was nice as well especially when you consider hurricane Ian was there 2 days before. This is where I stay every time.

With all the big condos and massive hotels with big complicated parking decks, this beach front spot is quiet and has a home like feeling, with all the amenities you would enjoy from the larger places

Excellent customer service. Great value for the price, good location. We were given a free upgrade--just because! Good free breakfast. We stayed through hurricane Ian. As soon as it passed, the staff jumped right into cleaning up and repairing, all while continuing to provide great service, and smiling all the time.

I have been coming to this hotel in the fall for the last 18 years. The facility is smaller, and this meet my needs. I don't care for the large time share places with hundreds of units, they are too crowded. All the rooms have a kitchenet and an ocean front balcony. The decor is a little outdated but in good condition and beds are comfortable. Parking is a little limited but there is hotel parking just across the street. The internet works well, and I was able to stream programs I watch that were not available on TV. There are two small pools, a hot tub and a tiki bar serving libations and snacks. This is great place to come for the ocean. The staff are friendly and helpful. At his time because of covid and staffing shortages they do not have daily housekeeping services but check daily to supply towels and paper items. This is not a problem for me because I usually don't want daily housekeeping. The management of the hotel constantly upgrades chairs, appliances, flooring etc. The view of the ocean is wonderful and with the kitchenet not necessary to eat out every meal. The daily free breakfast serves hot food. Looking forward to returning in early winter for an oyster roast and walk on the beach.

Perfect stay as always! Clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is so good. Grandkids loved all the pools and being beach front! Lots of parking and close to every where we wanted to go. Our favorite vacation hotel!

Had a great experience. Free continental style breakfast each morning. WiFi worked well. Views week amazing. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Amy at checkin was informative, friendly and super helpful. Shelly, the tikibartender, was friendly, always smiling, and great with the guests! Def a hidden gem in a long line of overbuilt, overpriced high rises

Booked online at this hotel and they do not show you this back building called the “Annex” building….. no where ! If they do it's well hidden …..We booked months before we were going to travel. Showed up at the hotel they said they were over booked and put us in this motel! Manager tried to say we booked it on Expedia so they can't do anything about it. I looked back on Expedia and they do not show this motel either! Big scam!!! Very dirty DO NOT STAY! I even reached out to corporate and they wouldn't do anything either about our stay! They clearly don't care about the cleanliness of there partner hotels! No standards , very sad would never come back and picture don't lie! Would you use this towel paper??!!!

The good... the location is great and there is a killer view with an ocean front room. The staff is helpful and everyone I talked to has been friendly and helpful. A special shoutout should go to Mary in housekeeping. She went out of her way to check on us each morning and to see if we needed anything. The rooms are clean and the bathroom looks like it has been recently remodeled. The not so good..... we were staying in the tower and other than 4 or 5 spaces underneath, there is no on-site parking. The majority of parking is in a couple of lots across the street and even that fills up. The room itself is getting a little worn and dated with worn carpet and stained furniture. Did I enjoy my stay....yes I did. Would I come back for another visit....I'm not sure, probably not since I would like to be able to park on site, but I would consider it if the rooms were remodeled. In a nutshell, a 5 for the staff, a 5 for the location, a 5 for the bathroom, a 2 for the room and a 1 for the parking.

Great bedroom with free breakfast that had a wide selection of hot and cold items. The pools, lazy river and hot tub were great! The hotel is ocean front and great beach access. The cabana offers a wide variety of refreshments and a great place to chill out during your stay.

We were very impressed with the service and quality of this hotel. For the price, the rooms are clean and comfortable. It's definitely an older hotel, and minor renovations like the kitchenette, carpet and sliding doors/windows would make a huge difference. But overall not bad enough to rate lower. Free breakfast in morning was perfect, hot, and delicious! Beach access is easy and the main pool with small lazy river was clean and refreshing. The Tiki bar made this trip! Rum buckets were delicious!! Parking is off site, but close. Overall, we'd stay again.

The hotel is in a GREAT location but it's in DESPERATE NEED of a FULL RENOVATION. I'm not just talking a mattress or a chair. I'm talking the ENTIRE hotel. Every aspect MUST be UPDATED and RENOVATED. The outside of the tower has a great little Tiki bar which is an awesome little feature that we haven't found at some others. The breakfast is EXCELLENT compared to others.

I stayed here with a friend for just one night. A little mom's getaway vacation. Check in was easy. Breakfast was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool area and the convenient beach access. I will definitely be back!

Stayed 3 nights and have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Great location, helpful staff. Rooms seem to be recently updated and provide plenty of room. The tower I stayed in had a single elevator which resulted in some longer waiting times but noting significate. Highly recommend this location.

This is a great place to stay on vacation. It is on the beach. The rooms are clean and roomy. There is a hot breakfast bar which a staff person dips up for you to keep you safe. There is a lazy river, hot tub, pool inside and outside. The staff is great.

My daughter and I have come to stay at Best Western Ocean Sands Resort nearly every year for probably at least 10 years. The location is wonderful; every room is ocean front with balcony. The employees are very pleasant and helpful. Love the kitchenette so we don't have to go out for every meal. There is a hot breakfast served every morning that is very good. Don't expect the amenities of the 4 Seasons, but this hotel is very nice at a very nice price. I'm also told they will be remodeling this winter, so it should be nice and fresh when we go again next fall!

Room was nice and clean with good ocean qview. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was ok. Sales tax and Resort tax is outrageous but that is not Best Western. This is a good reason to look at other states.

The Best Western Ocean Sands is always nice place to stay. Its an easy walk to the beach. The rooms are clean with a wonderful view of the ocean. The Tiki Bar is very nice and the bartender was amazing.The staff is helpful and friendly.

Average motel nothing fancy but located in front of ocean which it mad it an Atttt for me. Little Noisey out our door from kids at pool . But by far enjoyed our stay . Friendly staff. Bad parking none available . Had to ride around to find one. It met our needs .

I loved the clean room and the clean pools. Everything about my week stay was awesome and the continental breakfast was the best I have ever experienced. all the employees were so kind and even the maintenance men were so helpful. I will definantly go again.

I don't want to have to run downstairs and all the way to the office 3 times a day. Then, I go to the front desk and ask for something like the items mentioned and the person offers one. Just one.

Home away from home! I love the Best Western Ocean Sands Beach Resort. Highly recommend! Most comfortable beds. Amazing beach front view. Delicious hot breakfast served daily. Friendly staff. Yummy frozen drinks at the Tiki Bar. Met alot of nice people. Not a drop of rain. Can't wait to go back next year!

I was very pleased with our stay. The front desk staff, maintenance staff, housekeeping staff were all great! The room was just as I needed. Easy access to parking and the elevator. Will definitely stay again!

I feel bad leaving a poor review because the people working there were wonderful. But you will be quite disappointed if you have experience with resorts in other parts of the world. You will also be disappointed if you are familiar with the Best Western brand (not sure why BW would allow this property to use their name). Except for paying a resort fee, I am not sure what makes this property a resort. They do have two buildings relatively close to each other. If you are stuck in the building which is furthest from the reception, you have reasons (mainly breakfast) to walk to the main building. You will walk past two other properties that are not part of the "resort". They also have two parking areas across the street from each building (that's where you park if the few parking spots next to the building are taken). They also have one set of washer + dryer that is really not worth walking to because they are always busy. They have a pool that we never used because we spent our time on the beach. Breakfast was another experience quite strange for a Best Western. There was a lady with full control over most of the breakfast items, so you couldn't pick them in a ratio that would work best for you. One morning she was handing warm breakfast croissants packed in foil. They had too much sausage for my taste (I eat less sausage because it is typically over-salted). The steam enclosed in the foil packaging got the croissants disgustingly wet. I can't say anything about the rooms in the main "resort" building because we stayed in the building furthest from reception. Our room was extremely small and the closet was a joke. The room looked clean and that's the main reason why this is not a 1-star review. The bathroom was so tiny that they could only fit a mini-sink in it. As we were packing to leave, we saw a 1-inch cockroach in the bathroom. It appears that they are treating the rooms because the cockroach was on its back and barely kicking (still alive though).

As usual, our stay with your facility was excellent. The manager and his staff are to be commended for their interest in seeing that their guest are taken care of and given the best in customer service.

We stayed here because our relatives stay here whenever they come to the beach and we know why. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the tiki bar has great tasting drinks. The pool area was clean and the live music was enjoyable.

Our first trip to Myrtle Beach and we had an ocean view room, with the pool just outside the balcony. The beach was great and of course can't beat a good breakfast in the morning. Wonderful pub walking distance for dinners.

The Best Western Hotel in north Myrtle Beach was clean, reasonably priced, hotel staff were great, pool areas were well maintained, Tiki Bar at the pool was excellent and the hotel had adequate parking.

Worst $215.43 I've ever spent. This was our first time to Myrtle Beach and wanted something comfortable close to the water. Getting close to the water was accomplished but this place was far from comfortable. First off the pictures online must be from one of the other buildings as our room faced parking spaces that look like a back alley. Our room reminds me of a roadside motel more than a resort in what is supposed to be a resort town. It has that Bates Motel feel with outdated feel. Old carpet, bedding with holes in it and so thin you can see through it. A bathroom the size of a broom closet. I was suspect the moment I walked into the front desk area but the clerk seemed very nice so I didn't question the conditions. If I new these were the conditions we would have kept driving. Just sad that this ruined our first time to the area.

This is my 3rd or 4th time staying at this BW & I never leave disappointed. There was just a tiny issue with the room we were in and I let front desk know what was going on. They moved us to another room right away. We have never encountered any problems with any of the staff. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Wow, this "resort" was ranked #3 by travellers? I beg to differ. While the staff was very helpful I wonder how much of that was just normal southern hospitality which is something that we are not akin to. Whoever took the photos for the BW website is a champion because they made this place look good. This place is old and tired. Very few utinsils in the kitchen but there was a corkscrew bottle opener so we survived. Pool is small and shallow but good for young ones. Breakfast area made us want to go out for breakfast. Parking was ample but manuvering is very tight. Watch yourself. Washing machine on site takes quarters but dryer is busted. Elevator was down for a few hours one day, but it was up and running sooner than I expected. This was our first stay in NMB so we consider the Best Western a good spot for recon while we looked for where we really want to stay next year. I thought I was saving $$ by staying here but it wasn't enough to make me want to come back. Not mad. We took everything in stride but are ready to stay somewhere else.

Have stayed here several times. A older resort, but clean. Staff always ready to help with any issues. Beach front ocean view and responsible rates. Parking available across the road. Great complimentary breakfast.

My boyfriend and I had a great stay at the Best Western Ocean Sands Resort. It was my first time visiting the ocean and our stay made everything so much better. Our room was clean and spacious and our balcony/view was beautiful. I have no complaints about the staff or room itself. We appreciate the value and quality of service we received from the hotel!

The parking at this establishment was garbage; also there is only one elevator for the whole building makes it very hard with a baby and other items. Odor in the room from the carpet it hadnt been changed since the 90's .

This property is well tended but it is old. That brings some pluses - like good sized rooms and a FABULOUS location directly on the beach. Outdoor pools and a small lazy river were in multiple locations (this property had 3 separate buildings) but most of them were with the 10 story building. Indoor pool and hot tub were under the 10 story. The Tiki bar was open from 11ish to late. Very nicely run. They had a 'served to you' hot breakfast that had hot eggs, meats, biscuits. It was different each morning we were there. They had the usual waffle machines, cereals, and muffins. Very generous breakfast. We had a 2Q and sofa room. It came with a kitchenette that had a mini sink surrounded by the stove and oven (pots & pans, dish soap), microwave, and dorm sized refreg. There were cups, plates, spoons, forks, etc. if you wanted to wash dishes. A few handy cabinets here to store snacks and such in. There was just the standard square table w/2 chairs. The balcony overlooking the ocean had 2 chairs also. Manager Dan C. was around being attentive to guests and a good listener. He cared about his property and guests. Overall a super place for the cost!! Good location on the beach and good location for access to needed things.

Traveling to North Myrtle Beach and staying at the Best Western Ocean Sands Beach Resort never disappoints! We have been vacationing here for over 20 years and each year gets better and better! The Team at the BWOSBR is top notch! They go above and beyond to make sure we have the best trip ever. We feel like family here!

Very clean and comfortable Hotel right on the beach! Unbeatable ocean view! Amazing sunrise and sunset views. the poolside Tiki Bar has all the goodies for the parents while watching the kids drift around the whirlpool.

Great location! Although it's an older hotel, the rooms are large and you have access to the beach and multiple pools. The entire hotel team provided excellent customer service. It was actually less expensive than other non-ocean front hotels and with three beds, it's a great space for families with kids.

So this was a vacation with my guy and we were largely looking to just relax after all the stress of the last fee years. The staff at best western was fantastic. They were so nice. For example my first date there I walk out of the room to explore and am looking around and go Humm and a nice I think she is a facilities woman (from Maryland originally later learned) hears me and asks what I am looking for and I tell her where are the pools, the beach access, and hot tub and tiki bar and she walked me around to each not just pointed. Now they are not far but I work in customer service and that is above and beyond. Breakfast is waffles ,yogurt,fruit,cereal, eggs, potatoes and seems to switch between sausage bacon or ham and then there is usually 1 more item biscuits and gravy or tortilla or biscuit sandwiches. Some packing advice I wish I had. 1. Don't bother with your cute floppy hat with wide brim unless has strap to keep on head it will blow off save it for brunch. 2. Do bring your beach chairs and beach umbrellas. There is a beach stuff store about a block away that sold us umbrellas for 15 and anchors for 10 each but better then beach rentals which are 45 for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella per day. Overall nice but not glamorous hotel with fabulous staff and a reasonable price. If you are looking for the 4 seasons this isn't it but it is a clean nice hotel with nice pols and hot tub steps from the beach.

Just finished 5 nights staying at the hotel. Definitely would recommend. Great value. Incredible view of the beach. Nice pool. Good location near tons of restaurants. Room was good and clean. It is an older hotel but it is well maintained. Bed and pillows were comfortable and it was quiet at night. Staff was very nice and professional and helpful- Dan, Michelle and the lady who served breakfast. If you are looking for a hotel on the beach with a pool in a good location at a good value than this is your place. Will be back to stay again.

We had an excellent stay here. Our room was clean, the pool and patio area was clean and it was convenient to have 2 pools and the lazy river to choose from. Nice hot breakfast. The location was good as well.

We have stayed at this hotel regularly for past 15 years when going to north Myrtle beach. The facility is a little dated, but the beds are comfortable, the room is clean, and it there is a fantastic view. It is family hotel, and everyone is friendly. There is a kitchenet in every room and the internet works great. I prefer the size of the hotel because is smaller than the huge time share places available on the strip, so it is not as crowded.

I grew up coming here and continue to bring my family. I love that all the rooms are oceanfront and I can watch the ocean while cooking, eating and lounging, from the room or the balcony. The pools are great and there's always time to run out to the beach since you are on it!

We loved our stay here. We were given an upgraded room upon arrival which had a balcony with a great view of the pool and the ocean. We loved the kiddy pool and tiki bar area (the pool was a huge hit with our kid) and the beach access was amazing. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We'll definitely stay here again!

The receptionist was nice and helpful. Breakfast and servers were good. The price of the room was very high. If they had a 50% off I still probably wouldn't stay here. There are better value hotels in this area.

The hotel is right on the ocean and we had the perfect ocean view, but the sliding glass door to our balcony had been broken and did not lock. The hotel needs updating, but the room was clean. It was ok for a weekend stay.

This is our 3rd time with this hotel. Usually we book a regular room. This time we booked the king suite. Our room wasn't quite ready upon arrival, which was fine. Both ladies at the desk were awesome in having the staff get our room ready faster. As always, beautiful views of the ocean! Hotel staff is always helpful. Our room was spacious as we'd hoped. This is why we keep coming back!

We stay here twice a year. The people are always friendly and helpful The rooms are always clean and the hotel is centrally located to the activities we enjoy doing the hot breakfast is good and the Tiki Bar is a nice place to sit in the evening and relax with a drink.

We enjoy just relaxing on the balcony, watching the surf and beach. The executive suite can accommodate 8 people, but we get it for just 2 because of the Murphy bed facing the ocean. It's nice to see and hear the surf from bed! The full kitchen is also nice. Surely a family would be comfortable.

The room we had was always clean, services provided was excellent. Food server (breakfast only) was very good. Meals server hot and server explained what your choices available. Very friendly staff. Will return soon.

Staff are very attentive. Any issue I had was solved within minutes. I have stayed here several times and would again. Earl on nightshift was very attentive when guest near me were very noisey and unrulely.

Took way too long for someone to come to the counter. Stood there for sometime to get toilet paper. The non front hotel is ghetto. Breakfast was ok. Tiki bas was super expensive. I will say it was clean and the rooms were decent.

Rooms were clean but definitely dated. Ocean view was great and staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking is very tight as well. Even a member of the staff said if you care about your vehicle to park across the street. I was on the second floor and right above the pool so it was a little noisy but I still had a very enjoyable trip and the price wasn't bad either!

This was our 8th or 9th visit to Ocean Sands Best Western at North Myrtle Beach and we come back because it suits our family's need so well. My kids love the lazy river, the indoor and outdoor pools and the hot breakfast is so helpful. We love the hot tub and the staff understands how much their friendliness and attentiveness to details matters. We have no reason to go anywhere else. Rooms are clean and everything is always in working order. Always tip top!

The minute I walked into the so-called :”lobby” which is the size of a closet, I knew this was going to be bad. No one was at the front desk but there were housekeepers just lounging around. I checked in only to find an absolutely discusting room - it is beyond old - paint chipping off walls, beds look like they have been there for 20 years, doors not secure and…. BUGS! I walked right out & demanded my money back. I didn't have another place to stay, but I would have rather slept in my car than sleep in that room. The front desk clerk was so shocked that I thought the rooms were unacceptable - he said he had never gotten complaints - hard to believe. I felt like I needed a shower after walking in that hotel. It should not be open to the public. So gross. Stay far away!

Overall it was excellent. I would say a 4.7….It has everything you need, a wonderful, friendly staff and great management. It has limited parking underneath the hotel itself, but plenty of parking across the street and overflow parking. Some things may be getting a little outdated for some people, but you can't beat the value of services. You have a small fitness center, full breakfast, 24/7 coffee, pools, heated pools, hot tub, lazy river, beautiful ocean front view, tiki bar and occasional bands, and great staff!

Resort? Not even close!! This is a cheesy oceanside hotel in a subprime area. Parking sucks; keys didn't work; luggage carts don't fit through doors; oceanfront view is the only positive of this hotel!

We really enjoyed our vacation at this Best Western. We had never been here before but will definitely return. The staff is great. Amy at the front desk was so sweet and the manager Dan really cares about your experience during your stay.

The room is great right on the beach I could listen to the ocean all night the breakfast was ok we had a great time and did not drive around just walked everywhere all of the stores were close and the front desk had great suggestions on food

It was cold while we were there couldn't swim or go to the beach, but just that time of relaxing in the room and able to see the ocean view it was a great stay im planning another small vacation with Best Western soon

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised that the room, not the elevator and lobby had a nice odor, not that musty damp smell many oceanfront hotels have. Our room was very clean and most of the facility was kept clean except the area coming in from the beach access. Our internet worked great except for once or twice when I think everyone in the hotel must have been using it. I think the beds could stand a better mattress and larger pillows. It wasn't the worst but wasn't great either. We had the free breakfast one morning and the eggs were not that dried powder stuff, they were nice and fluffy, the sausage, biscuits and gravy were very good too. I would have liked to see some fresh fruit. I liked that they served the breakfast, nice staff asking everyone if they had everything they needed. My main complaint would be that anyone can come from the beach and walk into the hotel without going through the lobby. No exterior doors from the beach to the elevator. Parking is also limited and most of it across the street. The other parking lot is for beach access and limits the time you can park there so they give out tickets to those exceeding the time. We enjoyed our stay and Myrtle Beach. I would stay at this hotel again.

I have stayed at this property a couple of times a year for almost 15 years. For the first 8 they continually made improvements but for the last several years they have gone the other way. I used to recommend this hotel but can no longer do so. The good- location, friendly staff. The bad- parking, room maintenance, breakfast (Econo Lodge) quality and resort fee(not really a resort).

Such a good value . Super friendly staff and beautiful views from balcony. Jacuzzi was clean and worked well.Continental breakfast was excellent. Rooms were large and even had a fold out in the living area for our snoring family member. Warm shower and fresh towels plus nice appliances to use. Would go back for sure.

Enjoyed our stay and this beachfront property is right on the beach (a very short walk to the water). Our room had two TV's a kitchen and a separate bedroom and living room with a great oceanfront view. The manager, Dan, was most welcoming and greeted us upon arrival.

I would not recommend this hotel. It was dirty and had very low water pressure and no hot water. The hotel needs updated and the carpets are dirty and felt greasy. I would not recommend to stay here unless you want a poor quality experience. There are much nicer places in the area to stay

Great service rooms are always clean. Love the breakfast spread every morning. And the ocean front view is awesome. I would stay here every time I'm in town if rooms are available. I really like that the hotel has plenty of parking.

The room smelled like old wet towels, it needs to be renovated and done the correct way, and it was dirty ( mouse poop in the cupboards, and hair in the bathroom). The beds were also very uncomfortable!

Room was very clean, Everything worked, Check in was quick and outside was clean. No complaints with anything other than parking. Its very tight and if you're not in early finding a spot can be tough. I have a new vehicle and was concerned every night I would find a dent or door ding due to tightness of parking spaces and lot. I really liked this hotel and would go again, but only in off season. Morning breakfast staff was awesome too.

The hotel is located along the beach, beautiful location, hot breakfast, 2 pools, lazy river, fitness area. Enjoyed sitting on balcony with cup of coffee and listening to the waves. Relaxing!! Looking forward to coming back!!!

Awesome stay. The rooms are a little dated but very clean and comfortable. There were plenty of breakfast choices. All of the staff was very friendly, particularly the breakfast attendant. The view was just great and it is only a few steps to the beach. The resort is close to many of the places of interest and the parking is convenient. We highly recommend Ocean Sands!

If you want a clean and comfortable room with a nice kitchenette and a staff that cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable this is it. Near(drive) to restaurants and grocery stores) and a great walkable beach you can't find one better.

Our first trip to Best Western Ocean Sands at North Myrtle Beach. Absolutely loved it. It is one of the few hotels that have a full breakfast. Covid safe... They serve you. We stayed on the 10th floor and the view was out of this world... We will definatly be back...

Husband and I wanted a quick getaway for a little R&R. Staff was exceptional, room was clean and bed was comfy. Room decor was average. We were even given a late checkout and a Best Western members gift bag with bottled water, Grandma's Chocolate Chip cookies, as well as a local map and other brochures for area attractions.

Third year in a row we've stayed here. It has become our tradition. Always get an oceanfront room. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The room was an oceanfront king. Beautiful views love hearing the waves crashing.

Very outdated and needs remodeling badly to stay up to par with the nice hotels nearby. It was clean enough but nothing fancy by any means. This hotel is in a great location so at least it has that going for it. The staff was very nice so that's another plus. That's about all I can say positive though. Bathroom sink, toilet, and shower drain very slowly. They definitely need to get that fixed. I'm not sure we will return.

The staff here are fantastic! Friendly, courteous and very helpful from check-in to fixing any issues in the room to serving us a nice hot breakfast including biscuits and gravy, yummy! Although the room is a bit dated, it was cozy, comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, including a view of the beach and ocean! Thanks to Taylor, Eva and the maintenance guy for making our stay a wonderful experience!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. I was allowed a early check-in, offered upfront a higher room location for better views of the ocean and they were so pleasant as though they loved their job. Every person that I encountered had a smile and greeted me. The room was older but no complaints because it was extremely clean. Kudos to their housekeeping! I will definitely stay here again.

Over the holiday we made extra time and needed a place to stay. It was clean and everyone was polite and helpful. The views to the beach from our room was fabulous. The breakfast was good and filling.

The hotel is older but in fine shape. The location with the beach front balcony on the room offers a great experience watching Dolphins, fishing fleets and access to the beach for walking only a few feet away. There is a good restaurant a block away. Easy access to the main drag with anything you need.

I was completely surprised by the view from the balcony and the friendliness of the staff. The breakfast was an incredible surprised too with ACTUAL hot food - eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns! We booked this last minute as a weekend getaway and I am so glad that this is where we ended up. I was expecting a run-down room maybe only 2 floors up, but we arrived and ended up in the tower - 7 stories up! Beautiful view of the sunrise every morning over the Atlantic and quick access to the beach - literally right outside the entrance area. Being November, the heated pool area was nice as well. Very close to Myrtle Beach attractions, but far enough away that we could get some sleep at night with the balcony door open to hear the waves.

This hotel was perfect for our family. The room was much larger than expected and very clean. The bathroom looked brand new so possibly just remodeled. It had everything we needed to be comfortable and more. I'd highly recommended.

Although the building is a little dated, the staff members at BW Ocean Sands are friendly and helpful. Parking at the location is very limited, but there are two other lots, one directly across the street and another just down the street a little way (across from their other building). Breakfast was EXCELLENT! Hot and tasty items and quite a variety as well. The ocean view was really nice and getting to the beach was a very short walk.

This was our first time to Myrtle Beach. Mom 87 years young, my sister and her husband. All ready for a relaxing vacation, and we got it staying here. People were very nice, rooms were clean and we felt comfortable.

The Best Western Ocean Sands is exactly as named because it sits right on the beach ! This motel has all the amenities at a bargain price , a lazy river inside hot tub and swimming pool, an outdoor swimming pool , and a great tiki bar and patio area . The motel is also very conveniently located to shopping and restaurants .

People were great here. I showed up early and they were able to get me right in. House keeping was always near during the day in case I wanted anything extra. Room was facing the ocean. Pretty sure they all face the ocean also.

Clean property, inside & out. Friendly, and helpful staff. I appreciate a good, comfy bed and will be staying again soon. It was easy to book online, breakfast was hot and fresh as well as a clean area to eat.

Dan the manager and his staff make you feel like your family. The furniture may be dated but the hotel is very clean. You have a nice kitchenette with stove fridge microwave and dishes. The hotel is Ocean front.

The staff and amenities were excellent, a perfect retreat for a cold weekend.my daughter, grandson and son-in-law were right next door, which was satisfyingly convenient. I plan on staying again in the months to come.

Having children and grandchildren, we've rented condos or houses large enough to accommodate our family the past few years. When my husband and I decided on a last minute couples trip to the beach, we decided on the BW Ocean Sands Resort. Being reward members, we felt like it was a good option, but it really exceeded our expectations. The staff were professional, friendly and eager to help and the breakfast area was clean with attendants serving and complying with covid standards. Our room was clean with nice linens and pillows, and the shower was as good as ours at home. The view from our 5th floor balcony was spectacular! There are two reason I did not rate this a 5. 1)The mattresses were totally worn out and 2)the cable provider for the TV service is just horrible. This is certainly not a luxury hotel with all of the extra amenities, but if you are looking for a nice clean basic hotel, I recommend you give it a try!

This was my 4th stay at the Best Western Ocean Sands Beach Resort. It originally caught my eye because of the price of its oceanfront rooms. Then, I stayed the first time, and I was impressed with everything...the size of the rooms, the location of the hotel, the amenities, and the courtesy of the staff. And now, it's how I'm treated as a returning guest! Wonderful people working in a family-owned hotel! It's nothing fancy, and the rooms have become a bit dated, but it's absolutely a price-friendly gem for a beachfront hotel.

I have stayed at BW Ocean Sands for years now and this year was great as always! The staff is amazing and the location is the best! My First Choice every trip and have already started looking at dates to book for 2022.

Great ocean view room with balcony on the 6th floor, free wifi, free parking, and hot breakfast for a reasonable price. All staff were friendly, polite, and attentive. Plenty of time to have breakfast between 7-10am. Ocean with clean beach is right behind the property. Highly recommend!

The hotel was quiet, the staff was friendly, pools nice & clean, the Tiki Bar and the bartender gets an A+, let's not forget to mention the ocean view was amazing. It's an older hotel so that comes with what you would expect but everything was very clean and that I will not complain about!!

You can't beat the location but this place is beyond tired and dirty. The carpet is so dirty that my white socks were black after walking around the room for a few minutes. Also, the bathtub had a bath mat in it that could not be removed. It was so dirty looking that I felt compelled to wear my flip flops in the shower. I basically did not want to touch any thing in my room the entire time I was there and couldn't wait to leave. A few good points, once the parking is explained to you, it's good and the staff was nice.

We happened upon the Ocean Sands Beach Resort approximately 15 years ago and have not considered booking anywhere else. We prefer the Tower as all the rooms are ocean front with a balcony and kitchen amenities.

My wife & I just took a quick beach trip. The accommodations were great and the beach was very nice for October. The Best Western is an older building, but it had been upgraded and was very comfortable.

Stayed for a short trip. Room was very spacious but has certainly seen better times. Very outdated interior with a very ingenious but weird kind of air-conditioning. Or why would there be a big duct where you expect a wardrobe. Needs renovation quickly. Breakfast in Covid times was nothing spectacular. Beach access is very convenient, all attractions good to reach. Parking in front of the room limited, but when parking across the road not a problem. Average place

We have been here 3 times in 5 years and love it! The staff is amazing and the location is great. Open our sliding door and there is the ocean. They have a tiki bar that the staff is amazing and great drinks! We will be back next year!!

The room was clean and we had a wonderful view of the beach and ocean. The breakfast we had was good and everyone was friendly and willing to help with plenty of tables to set and have your breakfast.

Considering the value and a better Best Western standard for their plus and suites This is willfully inadequate. Yes you paid a heavy price for a great location but beyond that the hotel was outdated and there was scum on the bathroom walls unacceptable.

The hotel is a great place to stay. From the front desk employees, to the manager, to the breakfast, to the Tiki Bar, all were very helpful and friendly. It is a perfect location on the beach. The only downfall is that the rooms need to be redecorated, but everything else was fantastic.

This is a great hotel! It's got a great location too, right on the beach. I stayed here when visiting several of my friends from the area. Great pool and gym. I will definitely be coming back to this location again!

This place goes above and beyond to be accommodating! From check in to checkout everyone was friendly and helpful. Lol, it's like your wish is their command. I can't say enough about what a great place this is! The rooms are clean, the breakfast is good and served safely in covered bowls, music at the pool/tiki bar on Friday….they are definitely a 10 in my book!

Very nice resort. Our room was updated so we had lots of room. We were close to marts and shops. All went smooth. The breakfast was very nice. We could start our day with breakfast, juice and coffee. My granddaughters enjoyed it. The staff were nice and welcoming.

Great location in North Myrtle Beach. Room was well kept and clean. They upgraded us to a king suite upon our arrival. Tiki bar near pool easy access to beach. Rented beach chairs and umbrella. Totally enjoyed our stay, would recommend and definitely stay there again

As BW Rewards member, we stay at lots of Best Westerns and while the BW Ocean Sands has many great amenities it is in need of a update badly. This hotel could be perfect if some upgrades and updates where done as far as the rooms are concerned. While it was clean, the bedding, furniture and decor are in need of a major update. They have everything else going for them such as the beautiful location close to the beach and a very helpful and friendly staff but the rooms are the negative. If this hotel was redone in a coastal theme with no carpeting, etc it would be perfect. With that said, we would probably not stay here again until that is done. Also, many guests were complaining about only having one elevator serving the entire building. The waits can be long if there are lots of guests.

Friendly staff. Good warm breakfast. Rooms were clean but old. Gotba room with a great ocean view.. Carpet and AC very old. Remote control for TV in room did not work. Tiki bar had a wide variety of drinks, no food. Beachside. Overall good to great experience.

This Best Western is right on the ocean and is worth the stay! Besides being on the ocean, they have two pools, a lazy river, and a hot tub as well! The view of the ocean was breathtaking! Our family had a great time on our vacation while in the North Myrtle Beach area! You will not regret staying here!

Great stay, all the staff were very polite, friendly. ( all staff even maintenance guys prepping pool and cleaning around common areas in the morning). Rooms are fine, it's a beach hotel with a pool sand and water is expected. It's been a crazy year with COVID guests need to remember how hard these people have worked.

We stayed here 4 years ago in August 2017 and had a wonderful stay. We were very excited to return this year. We had a good stay but the overall condition of the hotel has deteriorated. The rooms have not been updated at all and are not very clean. They definitely need to be renovated. The pool area was okay but could be better maintained. There was a hole in the window between the indoor pool and the outside pool area that needed to be fixed. The Tiki Bar was great as it was before. Shelly is the best bartender! We had an issue with our room keys- They weren't programmed for our full stay and we got locked out of our room. This was corrected by the front desk. Also, we did not stay in the exact room we booked. The hotel did call us that day before we checked in. They were polite and offered us a similar room without a sofa bed. We did not stay in the exact room we booked, however. We do not plan to stay here in the future unless the overall state of the resort changes.

We Best Western because we had a good experience in VA a few years back. Unfortunately, this was not the case. For what we got, the price was not worth it. The only good thing to mention is the friendly and helpful staff. There is only one inconveniently place elevator, there is not enough parking spaces for the number of vehicles in building. Worst of all is that the parking does not have cover so the vehicles are in the hot sun during the day an if you arrive past 10 am from your outing the parking arrangement goes a couple of blocks away in a grassy area. In addition, the complimentary breakfast is not well supplied because when we arrived around 9 am, it had run out and had to wait 3-5 minutes two out of the three time we attempted. The two pools are small and have no towels available to dry off, you need to get them from the main office. The lazy river is a small ellipse which is nothing else than a moving water. There was smell of smoking in the build. It is very unlikely we'd visit this hotel again.

Don't stay here. Rooms were Disgusting. The floors had food everywhere, there was human hair in the bathtub and even on the fresh towels that were provided. The room smelled like mildew. There were handprints fingerprints all over the mirrors and the doors.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Best Western @ Ocean Sands Beach Resort. Check-in was a little long because of all the guest in the lobby, but we were totally surprised when we finally got the room and saw that it had not only 2 Queen beds, but a Murphy bed, and a sleeper sofa near the balcony. Along with a kitchen and full-size refrigerator. I did not realize that all of this came with it when I booked the room. The oceanfront view was beautiful. The only thing that I had wished I knew ahead of time is that housekeeping did not clean the rooms daily. They only provided clean towels and emptied the trash. This information was not indicated on the Best Western website when I booked the room. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely stay at another Best Western in the future.

When arriving, the young lady in check was very rude. Did not even ask for my ID to confirm my check in. Did not explain where any pools were or breakfast. This hotel only has a few parking spots by the hotel, which was not explained until I had to go back in office to find parking, which is across the street and if that is full, parking in a dirt yard two streets over is the next option. When we finally got to our room the last guest's food was still in the fridge. Had requested extra pillows which were not provided. When i phoned the front desk and asked she said they would look to see if they had any and provided ONE extra pillow. Elevator was very little as well which was an inconvenience as there is only one in the ten floor hotel.

Stayed at the Best Western Ocean Sands for our annual reunion with friends we met in North Myrtle Beach in 2007. After having to cancel last year we were excited. The hotel was great, 2 pools, a lazy river AND a Tiki Bar. The entire staff were friendly and helpful.

Loved the experience at the beach, the hotel has great location and great suites. Extremely outdated, dirty, bugs everywhere and no cleaning. The corporate needs to change the management, it's obvious they don't care about being hospitable in the business of hospitality. They are extremely short staffed, apparently need a lot of help. Apart from the dated state of things, they do not clean, you have to ask for fresh towels and toilet paper. The room had a musty smell, and they did not vacuum. Breakfast was a joke, & everything was given in a pathetic bowl. I also noticed the managements responses, very combative! Stayed at another BW , during the same week in Ocean City, MD, much better place, great service. Management has to go!!!!

What a horrible filthy dump!! Arrived with family only to be informed that my husband and I would not be staying in the main building instead we would go to the ANNEX!! which was a god awful dump that was way down the road. The building looks like some old prisoner of war building, seedy characters hanging out smoking god knows what! Upon opening the door the overwhelming stench hit us full force, the smell of dank nasty carpet, it was an ugly old room, we were horrified!! We entered and I was freaking out because this looked like a typical “roach “motel. We were not comfortable opening our suitcases, not wanting to take any “friends” home with us so they remained closed, we slept in our clothes hoping and praying there were no bedbugs which honestly we did not see. At about midnight I had to go to the bathroom, I put on my shoes and used the light on my phone to inspect the surroundings, didn't see any bugs so was feeling a little better until I was coming back to the bed and saw a ROACH running across the nightstand I completely lost it, took my shoe off and beat it to death, then threw my shoes away! It made me feel so anxious and nauseous that I could not sleep at all, because you KNOW if there is one roach there are plenty more, I was terrified one would crawl on me whilst I was asleep, I wrapped a sheet around myself and stayed on high alert ALL night. Actually there was no danger of me falling asleep, every hour on the hour people were pounding on the door next to us, I could only imagine what was going on, nothing good!!! The next morning we were out of there, my husband got a refund for the rest of our days and we sadly left our Daughter, Son-in-law and Grandchildren behind, vacation ruined. Please do not stay here!!! By the way my husband is no light weight, he is ex military and has been all over the world, for him to say that this is the WORST place that he has ever stayed at says it al!!!

Don't go! The photos on the site are deceiving. We rented a suite which should have included a stocked kitchen. There was hardly any silverware (2 forks, 2 spoons) and only 2 pans. No pots to heat sauce, noodles, etc. No drinking glasses. We stayed for 5 days and never had the beds made. I eventually had to ask for housekeeping to do a quick sweep after day 3 because there was sand everywhere. Dead cockroaches in the stairwell. Lights by the pool area were burnt out and It was hard to keep track of the kids. Carpet was shredded in one area. There was black mold on the curtain and the room smelled like wet basement. Air conditioner unit smelled like it was leaking Freon. The smoke detectors were not functional. I asked for new batteries. One had been disconnected and the other was beeping. They did fix that for us because I refused to stay in the room until it was. Positives: it was quiet in the room even though there were a lot of families with young kids there. It is conveniently located with easy access to the beach. The staff is very friendly, but there were some things they just couldn't fix. Maintenance did come within 30 minutes of me calling to repair AC and smoke detectors. When I finally found a housekeeper she vacuumed the whole suite and had a beautiful positive energy. Complimentary breakfast was decent. Tiki Bar did serve delicious drinks and you'll need a lot of them to tolerate this place.

The only thing I would change is housekeeping coming every day, we had a large group and needed towels and sheets every day. Sorry, but do something about the water pressure too. That sucked. The poolside bar was great, the lady there was very nice. The breakfast was great. I will stay there again.

Inside room was extremely outdated, worn out bedding, rusted appliances, worn out carpet, bath tub was had scars and scratches all over to the point it looked nasty. Water leaking down on the patio from the AC unit above us. Also, it kept us busy chasing large roach-like bugs and killing them. Needs a overall renovation on the interior.

There is an annex building that isn't mentioned that you may be put in. It doesn't have a private balcony but has roaches. It's down the street from the main building on a busy road with no sidewalk. The main building is smelly and the pools were brown gray

Had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the hotel as well as the beach. Hotel employees are always so nice and friendly. Hotel is located close to restaurants, music, family fun and shopping. Will definitely stay there again on next visit.

Checked in first room wasn't very clean found bug in bed went to office and they gave us another room that was much cleaner but 2nd room had TV remote missing had a broken door handle in kitchen area that had duct tape around one side of handle and other side kept falling off, when to office and they brought remote up, the kids couldn't take a bath because the no way for tub to hold water. The room door was hard to open or close and the rooms need updated. The pool area was nice and the kids enjoyed them

Great location with very easy access to the beach. Tiki bar is awesome. Our room was spacious but very worn and dated. The mattress was old and very uncomfortable. Balcony was great. All rooms except in the annex have an oceanfront balcony/patio. Hot breakfast was excellent. This is a very kid-friendly place to stay. Parking can be a challenge - almost no on-site parking, and limited spaces right across the street. Limited access to beach chair/umbrella rentals - this is done by the City of North Myrtle Beach. Very convenient to restaurants and other activities. Staff is very friendly. The room was not cleaned while we were there, other than swapping out towels and emptying trash.

There were 3 buildings with one building separated by two other properties. Outside not well kept. I suggest calling and verifying what kind of room you will get so you do not show up and get a different room than you signed up for. Average breakfast.

Staff was friendly, but understaffed. The place needs to be rennovated from the front desk to the halls and rooms in the tower building. New lighter paint color would be pleasant in the hallways. We stayed 4 nghts and our rooms were not vacuumed once, no fresh sheets, beds were not made. Pillows are too soft. Only 1 chair in bedroom, only 1 luggage rack in a suite.

This hotel has great staff, amenities to include beach front and a tiki bar! The rooms with the kitchens even have a stove! Love how they separated the two sleeping areas and addition dresser with a tv!

We stayed at the Best Western Ocean Sands Beach Resort for a family vacation. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean. I felt very safe for myself and my grandchildren. The pools were enjoyable and being walking distance to the beach was great. The Tiki Bar was a plus also. I would definitely recommend this Resort to others.

I enjoyed my stay, but there were minor issues. The room was never vacuumed while we were there, and we were on the beach, so sand was constantly being tracked in. The door would sometimes not close properly, the shower was terrible - the hot water had to be turned all the way on to get any hot water, and if you turned any cold water on, the water would automatically be cold. We were staying in the Annex which appeared to be a motel that was bought by Best Western. It seemed as if we were paying hotel and resort fees for a motel. We also had to walk a short distance to the main office to get breakfast. There was no sidewalk, so we had to either walk over uneven terrain (through private property and by trash cans) or in the street. I am sure my experience would have been different if I had stayed in the main building.

Our team stayed here as part of a baseball tournament and this may have been one if not the worst hotel experience I have ever had. From checkin issues to broken appliances to dirty rooms there isn't much positive to say about this hotel. I will say the location is great.

Very fun and relaxing hotel. Would recommend. Lazy river was nice. As beachfront as you can get. Very clean. North Myrtle Beach is much nicer area than Myrtle Beach. The only downfall was the parking. Had to park across the street

I loved that this hotel was on the beach with a pool option. I drove from Illinois with my 6 year old. Room was ready, clean with plenty of towels. The patio door/window were sparkling clean. Perfect! We had a great stay!

Would not recommend staying at this hotel! Lacks parking, cleaning was less than stellar. Woke up with sore throat due to horrible smell in room. View was not worth the stay. What happened to BW's quality?

Our family enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helped us out when we asked. Yhe breakfast was decent. The room was comfortable with a great view and great location. The beds were fairly comfortable and there were plenty of places to sit. The shower was great, weird I know. My husband is very tall and is a big guy, and he always has a hard time with shower sizes. We liked the two different pool areas a lot. The hotel location was good for access to the beach. We did not have a vehicle though and there were not a lot of places to eat around us. We had to use Door Dash but that worked out fine. Overall it was a great stay!

I highly recommend this hotel! I have been visiting this hotel at least once a year and sometimes more since 2012! Very friendly atmosphere!! Ocean front rooms that are just a few steps away from the beach! The staff are always accommodating and always willing to assist you! My home away from home! I wouldn't stay anywhere else while visiting NMB!!

The only thing this hotel has going for it is being beach front. It is dated and our room was not clean - not the fault of the cleaning staff just old, stained carpet that smelled. Maintenance has been neglected on the entire property - rooms - pool / hot tub were dirty. Breakfast area is small and crowded - limited choices. You can just tell when a property has been neglected and this one definitely has been. Wouldn't recommend.

We stayed for 5 nights in June 2021. The hotel is clean but a little dated. It is a great value. All of the staff we met were friendly, hard working and accommodating. The staff is the best I have encountered. They made the experience great.

You cannot find friendlier staff anywhere! The beach view is beautiful and just steps away from the hotel. Having a kitchenette gives you the option of eating in, taking a picnic to the beach, or enjoying a restaurant meal at one of the many locations close by.

Alright place just need to change the carpets in the room 311. And tell the front desk staff to not try to give people what they want them to have give them what they paying for. If you pay for a Queen suite give them it dont try to save it for there friends or family.

The sliding door was broken and very old looking, I did not feel safe sleeping with the back door to the balcony open. Building needs renovation. It is not worth the price you pay for. Good beach view though.

We have been staying here for the past few years and I don't have any complaints,the staff is friendly and very helpful/knowledgeable. The tiki bar is one of my favorites. I'll be back the next time I visit!

We've been coming to the Best Western Ocean Sands Beach Resort for years. The staff is friendly and the rooms are comfortable. It's like coming home to us. This hotel is located about two miles north of Barefoot Landing (right in the heart of North Myrtle Beach). We look forward to our next visit.

I only selected a one rating because you have to make a selection, other than that it would have been a 0 for me. So we decided to take out kids to the beach, found a nice 8/10 beach front hotel. We checked it around 7pm. Saturday morning, we complained about a leak in the bathroom and suggested our room be changed. The front desk said she would send maintenance, long story short maintenance talked to us Saturday and assured us they fixed the leak, so we continued our trip and walked to the beach. Sunday morning my son was taking a shower with my husband and the bathroom ceiling fell in and almost hit my son. Luckily I grabbed him in time but not before the the dirty water (possible feces) got on him. I let the front desk know about the situation and that my son or other children could have been seriously hurt. The manager (DAN CORTESE) did not care at all and blamed the guest upstairs in room 614 and stated that they did something in the bathroom to cause the leak. He showed no concern for my son and refuse to issue me a full refund after days of complaining. He stated “it was against company policy to issue refunds” I asked for corporate number and he wrote it on the back of a card and stated “it was nothing more I can do” Maintenance came and more water and debris fell down. They did not investigate the leak or fix anything. They put a new piece of drywall up. This could now happen to someone else's family or child. My son could have been serious hurt (he is a one year old by the way)

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Best Western. It was very quiet and the staff was very nice. The only complaint I have is a typical one. The beds are hard as a rock. Other that the bed complaint, Everything we encountered was nice and quiet and the beach wasn't to packed.

This was the 5th or 6th stay here. The middle of May. We were not disappointed..again! Room was clean, bedding was fresh. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The motel is in a great location with easy access to a ton of very nice restaurants and things to do. Not much parking in front of the motel, most is just across the street, which is not a big deal for us. We will definitely be back. Can hardly wait...

We always stay at OceanSands BW. Our first trip was almost 40 years ago. We love the ocean front rooms. 2 pools and lazy river pool. Breakfast served every morning. Always clean room and friendly staff. Can't wait until our next trip.

Well kept older property that is a excellent value on the beach! Elevator a little small for my handicap scooter. Lights out in hallway on second floor. steel staircase from second floor needs top step secured. Pool deck too slippery, need sandblast and coolcoat..... excellent clean property. Excellent value on the oceanfront.

Too many problems to list, but I can't see how all the great reviews got posted. Not to believe the online reviews. My original review to TripAdvisor never got posted. Hotel was old, smelly in room, doors slam loudly, hallways narrow. Two incidents of guests out of control (drunk, drugs). One incident of heated argument between hotel workers, very intense and frightening.

Parking was horrible. Even with hotel overflow parking, not nearly enough spaces. You could get a contact high from all the weed being smoked. Not family friendly. The exterior of the hotel is unkept. The room was outdated but clean. I won't stay there again.

Generally I'd give this hotel 5 stars, however, this time is different. It took 5 attempts to get our room keys to work (to the young lady at the front desk on 5/4, those keys weren't anywhere near cellphones as you incenuadted, this the main reason I'm giving 3 stars). The hotel staff upon arrival were amazing as usual. Thank you Dan for all of your help our first day. Mary, our housekeeper, was amazing! Thank you for all you do! We did have a difficult time getting fresh towels on Thursday,5/5. We will return!

We already had another resort booked for a long weekend and wanted to come a day early, so figured we would give the BW Ocean Sands a try with a reward night stay. The staff was very friendly when dealing with us. It was nice that breakfast was served during COVID and there was a nice outside eating area. View from the room and the location was great. The only negatives about the resort are the parking situation (it was clear to us where we could park, but the front desk worker came out to confirm where we could park) and only having one elevator in the tower we stayed. Would stay here again.

I have been staying here for over 10 years and have never been disappointed! The staff is helpful and friendly and the views are great, especially the upper floors. Though it's not a “luxury” hotel, guests are treated as if it were and any need has always been met. It's like a second home and it's location and accommodations are great for a laid back beach vacation! Thanks, Best Western!

Ocean Front Rooms were Great. It is a perfect size for us, not one of those huge high rise places. Oh, and the bed/mattress was excellent. Very Nice and Pleasant Staff. We've stayed here before, sent friends who liked it, and we will be back.

Only stayed one night but this Best Western was right on the beach. Michelle m, the bartender at the Tiki Bar was awesome. Made an outstanding Bloody Mary and was so much fun to visit with. Would definitely recommend Best Western Ocean Shores.

Big Ocean view, super clean room, great very comfortable bed. We decided to stay in North Myrtle for a change since most of the things we do are in North Myrtle. Excellent location. We'll need to stay more nights next time!

The resort staff were all super nice and helpful! Cant beat being right on beach and not to far from Barefoot landing and other activities. Pool was enjoyable but it was great having both options right there. Rooms were clean and staff again always helpful .

Have stayed at this property many times. It is a great location, and has ocean front rooms with a fabulous view. Most of the staff here is great. We recently returned from a 5 night stay, actually we booked 8, and left early to stay at another property. The breakfast staff was wonderful, especially Esther. Most of the employees were pleasant. The property lis worn and dated.. I will probably not stay here again, We had a balcony smoker to our right who was at on the balcony smoking quite often. Other properties do NOT allow smoking on the balconies. Also, we had a dog barking in the room to our left. And then our dial on the oven was stuck. Maintenance came up and pulled it out and told us to be gentle when turning the dial, The most disappointing problem was the bed. It was awful. Both beds were awful. We complained after the first night, and nothing happened. They came into the room to clean and did not change the box spring or mattress. So, the next day, we slept in the other bed, which was just slightly better,. We complained again and after another phone call, maintenance came. He said it was the box springs. He just replaced the broken box springs with another used one. Originally we were told that they would check to see if they had a new mattress for us, but that never happened. The replacement box springs was slightly better, but not the best. We tolerated it, but were very disappointed with the beds. Pool area was too noisy for several days.

Location is right on the beach! Poolside tiki bar was so fun! Room was older but spotlessly clean and very well appointed for the price! Have stayed at 3 different hotels so far on this road trip. This is definitely one I would stay at again!

This is our favorite place to stay in North Myrtle Beach. Very reasonable rates. Always friendly staff. Great ocean front rooms. Best walking beach, nice and firm and flat. We generally make it down to North Myrtle a couple of times a year. While we have checked into other hotels we always end of staying here.

So glad we chose this property. Upon welcome it was clear the property was physically nice but the staff made it great. We had a room in the building adjacent to the lobby building and enjoyed a fantastic view and the pool area with Tiki Bar beneath. Great value and although an older property, well kept. We absolutely recommend and would stay here again

So, we rented the King Deluxe Suite which has a double bed separated from the king bed via the bathroom. So when you enter the room, you walk into the first bed sleeping area. This place needs a LOT of work. I will say the bed was comfortable and clean. Don't look closely at the rest. It needs a complete overhaul. The sliding doors didn't work properly. The smoke alarm was beeping every few seconds (maintenance did NOTHING so we took it down). The locking mechanism fell off the door jam. It was a joke. I don't even know what to say about the marijuana smoking going on even outside at the pool area of the tower building. We couldn't even enjoy our balcony because the pot was SO strong AND all the cigarette smoking. Look, I know everyone does the best the can affordability wise. I get it. We booked this with about 2 weeks notice so felt lucky to get something affordable but well.......won't do it again. You get what you pay for. The clientele was on the rowdy side. That's putting it mildly. Just say no. Move along.

We had a wonderful experience. My son & his friend totally enjoyed the pool and the view. Short trip but very relaxing. We will stay there again next time we travel to Myrtle Beach. Thank you for an enjoyable stay

I will begin by saying the location of this hotel is perfect. We always love to be right on the water and this hotel did not disappoint. Our room was directly over the pool so the noise of the screeching kids was ever present, even late at nite. There's also a tiki bar that has music playing. Sometimes the music volume is ok, other times it's so loud you can't hear the waves! The balcony has two worn chairs and no table for drinks so we pulled the ottoman outside, I'm sure we aren't the first to do so. A small table out there would be very nice. The AC was loud but worked ok. Beds were ok not the most comfy but the pillows were in dire need of replacing. So lumpy and worn, as well as the the blanket on the bed. It was worn and needed to be cleaned. Bathroom was normal size, nice granite top. Our hairdryer started to smoke so we called the desk, next morning they brought a brand new one. Small kitchen was useful, there was a coffee maker, small fridge and microwave. Breakfast and coffee served in building next to ours. Housekeeping came in each day and took our trash, made beds, gave us clean towels. No complaints they were great! All in all it wasn't a bad place just needs some updating.

The light in the bathroom did not work the entire stay, which we stayed from Thursday to Saturday. Reported it and was told they could not get any maintenance men to come in. I did get a 25.00 credit for the inconvenience

Right on the beach. Awesome tiki bar. Good breakfast. Reasonably priced. I didn't like that they put the blanket under the sheet so I didn't see it and went and bought a couple blankets. So I spent money I didn't need to but oh well. My fault.

Michelle at check in was pleasant and recognized us. The view was amazing. Parking is was the only real downfall, it's across the street. The area is high traffic due to its location. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Could not get a good nights sleep on their lumpy and hard mattress. This is an older property but is super close to ocean. Front desk was not staffed properly and phones were not answered. I was at hotel three days in an ocean front room also overlooking pools (Tower Bldg) an never saw them clean the pools of decking. Apparently they are working with a skeleton crew. The staff was friendly when you could find them.

I stay here every year as the Team here has made everything perfect! Every request is handled with care and concern. I adore the clean rooms right on the beach front. Breakfast in the morning even with Covid is great! There was a mix up with one of my tee times that the golf course wouldnt work with me on but Dan made it right and got me to an even better place! Thanks Dan! Dont forget the TIKI bar for gathering near the beacha s well. Dan and Team will make sure its right for you!

In the age of computer everything the way to stay is simple face to face communication to be directed to answer your questions and get out the door when vacationing. We found this hotel to meet all of our needs as usual since Best Western has a huge collection of places to go to and stay in comfort. Stay here is on our list of to do again, we hope shortly. The location was great. Convenient to lots of attractions. Hotel is older but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Beautiful views. The constant smell of pot was a huge deterrent and parking is limited. Btw don't park between the lobby and the tower. That is beach parking and it's a $25 ticket. Staff is friendly. For the price, it is worth the stay.

This place is really nice. The pool area was quiet. Everything was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Everything in our room worked properly. I really enjoyed our stay. I will definitely go back eventually.

Always stay at this resort when vacationing at Myrtle beach. Very friendly and helpful staff, feel comfortable with their cleaning and disinfection procedure. Enjoyed a hot breakfast on Friday and weekends, location great to get to attractions, room decor a bit dated but functional and comfortable.

Loved our beachfront room! It was large, with a small kitchen. The view was nice, and we watched the sunrise each day from our balcony. Only reason I can't rate at 5 stars is because the front desk staff were not very friendly. They ignored my check in request, and barely acknowledged my existence at checkout. Good help is hard to find I guess.

During this winter month of February, it is nice Nice to just get away for a few days. My stay was relaxing and peaceful. I visited with family, friends and shopped. I enjoyed the seafood and even tried a new restaurant.

We have stayed here many times but it has been a while due to Covid. We decided to come during winter so our kids could see the ocean during a non peak time. We received an amazing deal on our pent house room, the indoor pool and hot tub was great for the kids, the view was stunning, breakfast was good, and we felt very secure with measures taken to ensure safety for the guests and staff. The entire area had safety measures in place from restaurants to souvenir shops to grocery stores to shopping malls. I am glad we chose to visit and I would highly recommend Ocean Sands to anyone wishing to visit North Myrtle Beach.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was oceanfront with a nice balcony. The room was large. The sleeper sofa and room colors could have been update for a more luxurious feel. The towels and sheets were soft which was great. Breakfast was OK due to the virus. We enjoyed ours in the room each morning after my husband picked it up. We would be happy to go back in the future.

We stayed here for a family vacation in December. Room was not cleaned properly. Room and building were old, outdated, and dirty. Everything in our room - hair dryer, remote, doorknobs, shower curtain - was sticky and had clearly not been cleaned before our stay. Our remote especially said “clean remote” on it, but it was covered in food from the previous guests. We had to wrap the remote up in a Kleenex just to use it. In addition to the dirty room, several guests were playing loud music all night, and the smell of marijuana was present all weekend. What is most annoying about our stay is the fact that we paid a resort fee even though we went off season (December). Parking was terrible, we parked across the street from the main office. This is a terrible excuse for a “resort” and I definitely do NOT recommend anyone stay here.

The staff here is extremely friendly and courteous. Staff very helpful. We needed extra TP and staff was very prompt. Even in the elevators, staff would speak and were friendly, you do not ever see that!

Took my 2 grandsons, we stayed in a queen suite and it was plenty of room for all of us! It had a kitchen with full fridge. Dishes and silverware also included. The boys loved the pull down bed and extra TV. The view was great. We will be going back again.

If you're looking for some 5-star hotel with a grande entrance with high ceilings and chandelier's you should go elsewhere. If you want a practical place to stay with nice amenities and a great location this is the place for you. I've been staying here for several years and the staff is always nice, the place is always clean, and the view is what brings us back every time.

Nice beach and view of the ocean . The room was decorated for the beach area which blended in with the atmosphere. Due to the restrictions now in place we couldn't experience the breakfast but the bag was a nice replacement.

Did not like the parking situation nice area had hair in our bathroom and the headboard fell off the wall hit my fiancé in the head. But we were on the beach so we just dealt with it. Would probably try again because staff as nice and hotels do miss hair now and than and things break. Parking is what it is when space is limited.

Pros: -Front desk staff was friendly and helpful -located directly on the beach -decent price -Comfortable beds Cons: -Rooms are dated, musty smelling -Grounds are somewhat dirty, down stairs ice machine/vending area a little suspect with cleanliness -Maintenance blowing off walk way directly outside of door way too early in the morning. -Still charging a “resort” fee, but I'm not sure what the resort part of the hotel was? Other: -parking can be a bit inconvenient. They have a lot across the street which fills up quickly and another lot maybe 30-50 yds down the street. -Would request a non ground floor ocean front room. The ground floor rooms have small patios that are directly in front of the pool and hot tub. Could see that being a huge issue if that area was crowded and you wanted to sit out on the patio. -During COVID there is no breakfast per say, just a grab and go bag which is best bypassed. (For the most part, it probably would just be better for them to say they don't have breakfast during COVID). -Housekeeping does not clean your room during your stay. You leave your used towels outside your door before 11am, and then they come around and tie a bag of replacement towels on your door handle. Same with garbage.

Starting at the entrance. The lobby was not clean, the parking was not enough for the rooms so you have to park off site. When we got to the room, The door had been previously kicked in and the inside wood was screwed back with 3 sheet-rock screws. I could have easily pushed the door open from the outside. The glass sliding door had no lock mechanism and no way to secure it. The air conditioner compressor was very noisy. The carpet had a damp feeling to it and the room was dusty. The bathtub was yellowish along the bottom of the inside of the white tub. The fixtures were coming off of the wall in the bathroom. the walls needed cleaning and paint. There were stains on the wall between the bathroom and the living area. The beds were clean and fairly comfortable. At 8:30am the pool person started using a gas blower right outside our balcony ruining the morning coffee overlooking the ocean. The hallways are outdoor, which wouldn't be a problem except that the lighting was all off making for a dangerous dark area going to the elevator and rooms. This was October 23, 2020 and the rate was $133.87 all said and done, ridiculous for the 1/2 star it was. It would have been too expensive at $49.95

This was my 1st trip since February my it was great (as usual). I always have a great stay with Best Western because they treat me like a VIP. The weather was great, 72-80 degrees all week long with no rain.

We have always enjoyed our stay at this hotel. This was the first time since Covid that we have stayed. The practices they have in place are very good. I felt completely safe staying there. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help with anything. We have already made our reservations to come back in the spring.

I stay at the BWOC at least 4 times a year. The service is always fast and friendly. The rooms are always well maintained and the housekeeping staff will accommodate any requests. The best part is the value you receive for the price. There's no better place for the money. I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys nightly dining, daytime beach and golf. The owners are hands on and aim to please. Enjoy!

view was spectacular, good bed, breakfast bag was very unhealthy, heated pools not working. A map of property and where the different parking lots and amenities were located would have been helpful. Convenient location, wish they would have locked the pools at night, so no late night pool parties, would be great if the property was smoke free.

Some of the staff was disrespectful and lied to me & my friend separately when expressing concerns about cleanliness of pools and cleaning schedule. Front desk young lady would walk off when we were asking for assistance. Pool staff made derogatory remarks & called us names in another language because they were asked to clean the pools properly. (Some of us understand more than one language.) Pools were not properly cleaned daily, just scooped out with a net after 2 days of complaints about masks, sanitation wipes being stuck in lazy river filter, main pool had sanitation wipes, sticks, leaves, money in it, indoor pools had oily film floating in water and dark, dirty water in both pool and jacuzzi the whole 4 day stay we were there.The indoor pools were not clean and never cleaned once during our stay so we never got to get in the pool, which was one reason we chose this hotel. The pulldown bed sheet and covering in second room had hairs on it between the top sheet and mattress cover sheet. Obviously the bed had not been changed and bed sanitized. The couch had candy wrappers and a plastic gum holder under it from who knows when. So I know the room had not been vacuumed properly and most likely not sanitized. We were missing many cooking utensils and silverware in the kitchenette. 2 of the staff were very polite but others were rude and acted as if it was an inconvenience to answer questions or when asked for assistance. Sanitizing wipes and masks were caught in the filter of the lazy river pool and wipes, money, tree debris, sticks, were in the outside pool, and the indoor pools had a greasy film floating on top of the water in addition to dark greenish color, flies bit me after putting my feet in the pool water so had to go wash them off in the shower. I would suggest training the staff to be courteous and respectful, hiring a new pool cleaning company, and training staff on how to properly clean and sanitize rooms.

Had a great stay at the Best Western Ocean Sands... This was our first trip in a while due to the COVID thing, we had a blast! Hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel safe. Every one followed safety guidelines and we never felt concerned. Great getaway after a long summer..... Would recommend to anyone....

This hotel has a lot of the amenities that cost more at other places. It was perfectly on the beach with easy view and access. The tiki bar had great options and the bartenders were friendly. Breakfast was in a bag (due to COVID-19) but was a good option for the limit. Loved our stay, we'd come back.

Hotel was nice for the price we paid. Room was clean. Pools were very clean. Due to Covid breakfast items were limited but pretty good under the circumstances. Staff very cordial and helpful. Love the area, not as congested. Will be going back very soon.

Everything was excellent as always. Excellent customer service. Great location to the beach and parking was good. Loved the tikibar01. Looking forward to going back next July and August. July will be our 30th anniversary.

Hotel is clean but very dated. Rooms are dark. Dark carpet, dark walls. Needs to be brought out of the 90's and brightened up. No hot breakfast due to Covid, but did have bagged breakfast. No maid service. You had to put your dirty towels outside your door and they would bring you new ones. Since there was no maid service there should be brooms put in rooms to at least sweep up the sand and dirt. When this hotel is full parking is a nightmare. 3 or 4 lots scattered over a 1-2 block area around the hotel. Overall not a bad hotel, just needs a lot of updates.

I was satisfied with the cleanliness of the room and very happy with the view that the balcony provided being beach front on the 9th floor. Beds could be a little bit more comfortable but not bad at all. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful hotel with semi-private beach, pool, tiki bar, hot tub, and a better fitness center than most hotels. The rooms have an excellent beach front view from the balcony. Adequate parking, and all of the employees were superb. 2nd time we've stayed there, and we'll be back.

We stayed here for three nights. We had no room service because of virus so prices should have been better that they was. Room smelled musky and old, stains in sofa sleeper, air conditioner not cold enough, and the parking was awful. Had to sit and wait on someone to leave so we could get parked.

Title states this a resort, its far from it. There are 3 buildings, we were put in the main building which is a run down, very old hotel, that has had a few face lifts over the years. Parking areas a scattered about, desk clerk pretty much told us good luck. Once unloaded we got on a elevator that lurched and shuttered like it hadn't been serviced in either along time or was at the end of its life span. We were told this was a smoke free hotel but once we were able to shove our door open ( yeah the door was hard to open too) we immediately smelled pot smoke coming in through the A/C unit. 3 complaints to the front desk and no one ever did anything, we had it pumped into our rooms for the 3 days we were there. Outside our room was a smoking area too, so you walked through smoking coming and going too. Shower knob for hot water was just stuck on, it was not screwed to the valve. When trying to turn it on or off it would rotate freely. The site says our room had a pull out sofa, turns out it was a pull out love seat with twin sized mattress, so if your bringing kids they better be little, ours were not. Breakfast is another surprise, its brown bagged! You receive a microwave biscuit, a piece of fruit, granola bar, & a 6 oz bottle of water. Staff at the front desk was kind of un-attentive, ready to provide lip service but that's as far as they went. And at check out never bothered to ask how the stay was. So if your looking for a resort, look elsewhere you can find one for the price you will pay to stay here. Oh yeah you do pay a resort fee at this old run down hotel.

Although this hotel is dated and in need of some TLC, it is clean, quiet, and relaxing. The front desk staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed the pools and direct beach access. The tiki bar is moderately priced, but we found the hours somewhat limited. For those considering a stay here, I highly recommend paying a little extra for an Ocean View room. Also, bring your own float for the lazy river pool as they are not provided. All in all, we would likely stay here again.

This was our 15th year in a row staying here. We were here for 10 nights and had no problems. Rooms need some updating, but were clean. Staff did a great job. Great hotel for the price. Will definitely be back next year.

The view of the room are beautiful because you are directly in front of the ocean. But the room are dirty and need to be renovated. The carpet is damaged and the sheets are stained. But the employees are nice and helpful

While the overall location of this Hotel was excellent the Hotel rooms, etc. were lacking. All Hotel rooms are non-smoking but we were unable to enjoy our balcony in the evening because of other hotel guests smoking cigarettes and Marjiuana on their balcony's - the smoke was unpleasant and overpowering! grrrr The bathroom electrical outlet was faulty thus the hair dryer was diffucult to get to work. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions the hotel did not have their normal breakfast, it is currently a "Bagged Breakfast." Not a great start to the day. Overall, I thought the hotel was overpriced for what we got BUT the location is perfect.

Room had mold behind Murphy bed. Tub had been patched. Bathroom ceiling was dripping water from above. View from the room was nasty. Upon arrival pool barely had water in it. None of the showers outside worked to rinse sand off you. WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE

After researching rooms in North Myrtle Beach, we decided to book with BW Ocean Sands. When making the reservation I was very specific about wanting a room not on ground level. After making the 10 hour drive from Kentucky to North Myrtle Beach, we had to wait to check-in because our room wasn't ready then we were told we were given a room on ground-level right across the hall from the lobby. This is a high traffic area and quite noisy not to mention a terrible view of the ocean and the swimming pool was right outside our balcony so we couldn't even enjoy sitting on the balcony. I express my disappointment during check-in and was promised to be moved to a different room the following day. The following day came and not only we moved to a higher floor but we were put in the tower next door in a very nice suite. This room was on the 7th floor, corner room with a 2 queen bed bedroom with a view of Ocean Boulevard, a full kitchen, and full size refrigerator, coffee maker, stove, plates, saucers, bowls, silverware, a few pots and pans and a baking sheet. The living room was a good-sized room with a small table and two chairs, another big screen TV, a sofa that lets out into a bed and also a hideaway bed. The balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean, the pool and the Tiki Bar. I was very pleased with this room. It is a bit dated but everything in the room is in good shape. My only complaints about the room would be every night before we went to bed, we had to wash our feet off because when we walked Barefoot in the room our feet would get filthy. Also the bed skirts I could use a good washing or replaced, the curtains need to be washed and or replaced and I highly recommend shampooing the carpet and deep cleaning the uncarpeted part of the floor. Also was told at the front desk that's thanks to covid-19, there would be no daily maid service and if we needed fresh towels we would have to put them outside in the hallway by our door so they could be replaced with fresh towels and all garbage bagged up and put outside in the hallway. This was a bit of a bummer but understandable. It also was annoying to only have one elevator in this building that consists of 10 floors and all those rooms in the building so it was a challenge most of the time trying to get from your room to the ground level and vice versa. Long waits for the elevator. This hotel has two outdoor pools, a kiddie pool, a lazy river, an inside pool and a hot tub. All of these faces appear to be cared for and cleaned every day. The Tiki Bar was a nice touch and we did enjoy several delicious drinks from there during our stay. Another negative things to covid-19, the complimentary breakfast was not happening, instead they were serving what they called grab-and-go bags. These bags consisted of a small bottle of water , a piece of fruit like an apple or an orange and either a multigrain bar or a chewy bar. There was always coffee tea and hot chocolate available in the lobby every morning which was nice. At one point, they decided to try providing a hot breakfast. This consisted of very specific rules being set up in the lobby and one lady preparing eggs, hash browns and either sausage bacon or ham. Three different types of juices were available during this time also. She would prepare your plate and hand it to you. The area in which she was working was very clearly marked off so you knew not to go back there but thanks to some guests thinking the rules don't apply to them, the hot breakfast thing only lasted for 3 or 4 days during our stay and they went back to the Grab & Go bags. This hotel also has a washer and dryer available for guests use in each building. It's $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry. Located on the third floor along with a workout room. You can get quarters at the front desk and also purchase laundry detergent and dryer sheets but we packed our own. Everyone we encountered at this hotel during our stay was nice polite and friendly. Another negative would be the parking. The parking here is horrible! There is a section of parking spaces that separate the two buildings that are not part of the hotel parking. You can only park there if you have a handicap placard or a city sticker otherwise you will be given a ticket. They also have parking in a couple of lots located across the street. We had a couple of nights where we came back from shopping or whatever and couldn't find anywhere to park. Anytime we needed anything, all I had to do was call the front desk or stop at the front desk and request what I needed and my wish was granted. They do go out of their way to make sure you are happy here. I would definitely stay here again. Like I previously mentioned, this was our first time visiting North Myrtle Beach and we really enjoyed it. It's much quieter and less crowded than Myrtle Beach. This is a nice pace for us since we are a bit older. Very family-friendly place. Play see my attached pictures.

I should have been made aware there was no longer a buffet going on. The room we stayed in was clean but very dated. The elevator had issues as well. It shut down for 5 hours one day and we were on the 10th floor

Pros: location on the beach is nice, staff is very friendly. Tiki bar staff are nice. Cons: parking is a nightmare, literally. The room was filthy, looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly in months. The carpet was gross, bathroom is teeny tiny, with nowhere to hang any towels or bathing suits to dry. The decor is in need of serious updating, the place just looks run down. Even if your place is outdated, you can still keep it clean! We got a hot breakfast one morning, then a sack breakfast the next with no explanation why. Also, we went out to eat and I forgot something in the room. My husband went back to get it, and forgot he didn't have a key card with him. He stopped in at the front desk to ask for a new one, and they just gave him two new key cards.....NO questions asked!!! Didn't even ask for his ID!!!! That is scary to me, he could have been anyone, and they just gave him two new key cards no questions.

Best western Ocean sands Myrtle Beach is a little outdated does needs a facelift. However it's very clean, room was very clean and cozy. We were put in the annex side which is 2 beach houses down from the main hotel. Now it stated in the details ocean views, but there really isn't an ocean view unless you angle your head to the right. But saying all this it is situated right on the beach ,and very handy for carrying beach accessories. Pool , tiki bar all Decent , I feel due to COVID the hotel customers including children were all so happy to be enjoying the amenities , so any pool was welcome . It's a good hotel for the price you pay and front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served by staff member who was A very pleasant and accommodating lady . Breakfast was good to say it was free! I would recommend this hotel , for a couple of days stay get away which was much needed after lockdown restrictions have been eased.

Old, old hotel. Broken items, poor check in experience, A/C barely works, reservation was messed up, room not that clean, and no housekeeping (at the beach)! Ocean-front is better than street-side, but will not accept use of points for ocean-front!

We stayed last Mon. PM and checked out Fri. AM for 3 days at the beach. A nightmare! Before nor during check in, were we ever informed there is NO room cleaning during our stay (beach sand!)! {Put towels outside your door and later clean towels in plastic bag are hung on door knob. Leave trash outside door and given new trash can liners later.} Tues. AM. we get knocks on our door (early) and the front desk had us as a "no show"! OLD room, old A/C (lowest room got was 71-72 degrees), ONE elevator for LOTS of rooms. Would NOT accept points to stay in ocean front room! VERY few carts to use in checking in/out. (Wait for elevator, 9th floor, not interested in carrying luggage up/down 9 flights of stairs) & then lug across the street to limited parking! Got locked out of room next to last day & back to get re-keyed [in different "lobby building" next door]! Room lock very hard to work! Bath sink very slow draining. Wanted tub -- ok, but no drain closer - was given rubber flap to cover the next day! Ten floors and ice machines ONLY on 3rd & 7th floors! Vending only on 5th & 7th. Breakfast (none due to COVID, but grab & go) in different "lobby building," so never got. You get the idea -- don't stay!

We have been staying here for over 15 years. The place is being neglected and needs updating desperately. The staff used to recognize you and treat you like family not anymore. Numerous broken things in our room were never fixed during our stay.

We booked a last minute getaway from NC, to visit the beautiful beach & open restaurants of SC, for Memorial Day weekend. I could not have been more pleased with the value we received for what we paid. We had an ocean front king room, with a gorgeous view. Our bed was very comfortable and our room was quiet. We did not encounter any problems whatsoever. The staff was excellent, from Earl the Pearl who gave us such a warm midnight welcome, to Cassandra in housekeeping and the management team. The location is perfect, being ocean front, and a short walk to Molly Darcy's Irish pub and the Beach Wear store across the street. I loved this little gem of a 3-star hotel, that was big on 5-star service and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family!

We loved the view the room was clean , the staff were all great. We loved the balcony parking was a little tight but it was manageable. Each time we asked for something it was took care of very quickly!

We visited the Tiki Bar at the Best Western Ocean Sands Beach Resort. The server was Amy and she was very attentive, friendly, and made the best drinks. We enjoyed our conversation with her. We look forward to returning and hope Amy is working when we visit.

We stayed here the week of May 25. Although the hotel is a little out dated and needed a little TLC, it was clean and the staff awesome!!! We really enjoyed the pools, hot tub, and the Tiki bar! The kitchen in our room was such a help too since not a lot of restaurants were open to full capacity. The beach was clean and all the people were super friendly.

We enjoyed everything at our stay with Ocean Sands Best Western. The room was clean and we enjoyed our time. Tiki bar was great. Kristen and Amy were very nice and we enjoyed our time talking to them. Pool was clean.

My family and I recently stayed here just to get away for a few days. We have stayed here multiple times and plan to return. The front desk staff is extremely nice, very professional. Even though the breakfast bar was closed because of the COVID restrictions, the grab and go food wasn't bad at all--it was enough to get you through, unless you're a big breakfast person, which we really aren't. Plenty of parking available, and the beach wasn't crowded-a big plus. My only issues were that there was a water bottle in the floor of the room when we arrived, the iron didn't work, and we didn't receive any maid service, so our trash (which I had taken out once) was overflowing when we left.

The rooms were decent but outdated. The pull out couch was very outdated and smelled wired, the pillows were super small on both beds and the refrigerator was a mini which is also to small. The air in our room was on 69 but it felt like 74. The pools were an amazing size for kids. The pools bathroom is the office bathroom which is convenient that were the pools were at. The pools closed at ten but a women at the front desk kicked us out 15 minutes early on may 25. The parking is absolutely horrible, we asked serval times were to park and we still ended up with a stupid 25 dollar parking ticket. I was told we were not allowed to rent golf carts but someone had one anyways which my kids were looking forward to rent one. The last day the pool was closed for maintenance. The worst part was the parking because we got the freaking 25 dollar parking ticket.

Clean and comfortable. Our queen sleep would have slept 8 (we were a group of 6). Our suite included a kitchenette with a full size fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker and an apartment sized 4 burner electric stove with oven. Amazing staff people.

We had to get away from our state to a newly opened North Myrtle Beach SC. We, of course chose our favorite Best Western Ocean Sands. In spite of having been closed for quite some time, everyone there gave us the service they always have. Breakfast, of course had to be amended to paper bags, but all was well. Reasonably priced, clean rooms, excellent employees!!

Average was an accurate rating for this day. Bed for the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on, the TV didn't work when we got there. The maintenance man appeared quickly and fixed it so the TV was operating, but it is obvious that the service with the TV did not come with the remote in the Room. It was difficult to select channels because they were a mix of digital and analog which I write-off to the service provider of cable to the motel

Let Dan and his team take care of you! Its like a family in a respected chain! 5 stars for us on every visit! Ocean front rooms a tiki bar! Awesome breakfast buffet. Excercise center and a great price!

We decided to get away for a few days to North Myrtle Beach SC to go to the beach. Since we had a free night due to a promotion we decided to stay here. Big mistake. I requested a room with a shower only, which was not the case. Manager said there was no request. All pools were closed due to COVID 19, which, if I had known when making this reservation I would have waited another time to go. Breakfast was one apple, a bottle of water, a granola bar and an unripe pear, but at least it was filling. We both woke up the next morning with sinu headaches, which we decided were due to unclean carpeting and pillows. We decided not to stay another night and when we checked out my husband was told to "drop the keys". No thank you or even a question asking why we were checking out early. Beach was very nice. This was not a resort in any sense of the word.

Stayed here for 1 night exploring the local area and chose this motel based on price & reviews. The location was great, right on the beach with a beautiful view however that's where it ended the room itself was quite musty, dusty and carpet didnt feel clean at all. We couldn't wait to leave, it served the purpose but 1 night was more than enough. In future I will stick to Holiday Inn Express where the quality is consistent.

The breakfast area was clean and constantly restocked. Staff was nice and very friendly. Second time staying at this hotel and will again as soon as the virus has cleared up. Thumbs up for Ocean Sands Resort. Love it!!!

Best Westerns are not known for being the go to place for vacations (usually just an overnight place or low budget hotel). However, this exceeded expectations by being a well maintained, clean beachfront property. The staff works diligently to make guests happy, it has a nice pool area, and on site parking (a little snug, but still good). This was during the WuHan virus panic, so the breakfast buffet was not open (grab and go bags only). I would not only recommend but would stay again instead of more expensive sites. High praise indeed for a BW "budget" hotel!

From our arrival until our departure we found all of the staff to be very friendly. The rooms were very clean and we had a beautiful view of the sunrises. Breakfast was always well stocked and very good.

Beautiful area located on the beach. The room was average but definitely could use upgrading. The bed was comfortable and the mini kitchen had the utensils needed to prepare a meal. The internet service was good and the view through the sliding glass doors was awesome. The breakfast was ample but could use more items,

BW Ocean Sands is an excellent example of "perfect modesty!" This is simply a nice, comfortable, clean, oceanfront resort with sweet and kind staff who go out of their way to be helpful when needed. The breakfast bar has something for everyone and the coffee is hot and delicious.

We stay at Best Western Ocean Sands every year when we visit the beach, and we've been coming here for the last 15 years. Friendly, accommodating staff. Housekeepers who remember us from year to year. Love the oceanfront accommodations, The lazy River, the tiki bar, and the proximity to the beach. Highly recommend for families and couples. A great value for the money.

This hotel is conveniently located near House of Blues and Barefoot Landing. The beach is really nice as are the staff. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy The free breakfast is tasty. Parking is limited

Always enjoy our trip to beach when we stay at The Best Western. We enjoy the free breakfast and the staff is very helpful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Parking is no problem in that they have two different parking lots.

Best Western Ocean Sands Beach Resort was great place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the complimentary daily breakfast followed by a walk on the beach. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was clean and adequate but the bathroom was terrible. Basically, the sink was on primitive type industrial legs with no counter space or shelf to put bathroom items. The shower curtain was on a curved rod that allowed the water to pour onto the floor while showering. The breakfast was good, but it was super crowded and confined to a small area for so many people. We waited about 15 minutes in line to find that the eggs were gone. Waffles and bacon were good. Overall, not a great experience for how much we paid.

This hotel is an excellent choice. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The location is great if you want to get away from the crowds and noise. Great view, good hot breakfast. Parking can be a challenge but it is still very convenient.

We had the best time; from checking, throughout the week of our stay, to checkout. From the desk crew, to the kitchen crew, to the cleaning persons. Also, fun in the puzzle room!! Everyone involved made our stay the best time.

This was our first stay at this hotel and found it to be very pleasant. The location was perfect for the reason we were in town. Close to restaurants and other entertainment. Front desk was very helpful as well.

I stayed on the 9th floor, great view of the ocean. Have lived in N. Myrtle for years and moved but nice to go back to a clean hotel. Breakfast is ok, waffles, eggs, etc and plenty of parking across the street.

We stayed here got 5 days during Christmas break. My credit card bill is showing higher amounts than the room invoice. I have called the hotel on two separate occasions. Each time I was told only Dan the office manager can resolve the issue. But for some reason Dan is not in that day. I have left detailed callback info for Dan. I have yet to receive a return call. This is customer no service. Service ends when you have left building.....

Perfect Oceanview room. The tiki bar was open and planning to close soon. The pools are a bit small. I believe they must just meet the criteria for a resort to qualify for the extra resort fee. We experienced beautiful weather, and we were able to swim in the ocean. Pleasant surprise. Room was very comfortable. We plan on returning Very nice breakfast.

I need a vacation and I did enjoy and nice relaxing. It was right on the beach. In the summer time the outside bar is opening. It does have indoor and outdoor pool with a l a lazy river pool. They do have ocean view rooms.

We enjoy staying there. Like the people and the location but was really disappoint on them for taking money from my checking account four days after we got home. When I called and asked them about it they said they had no record of that transaction. Really disappointed in them

I read the previous reviews before I booked, I felt very happy and was looking forward to our stay. Arriving in the room I was shocked by the age of the furniture, the queen beds are full size, I complained and was given the same type of room but on a lower level. I did not find the coffee, esp the decaf available in the pm, or even hot water. Breakfast was adequate but was still limited. Seating was not adequate , could not leisurely enjoy breakfast. If the hotel was not next to a public access to the beach, it would have not had access as you would have to walk through the dunes, which you need it to stay off. The outdoor stair were painted black which made it unsafe, perhaps some yellow stripes might help.. The indoor pool area was stuffy and lacked any airflow as well ast the hot tub, the window should have been access for air flow..

The Room we had was on the 10th floor and you can't beat the view for the price the hotel décor is older and the layout of the property is a little strange having to travel to different buildings to get breakfast or use the pool The Room I had was clean to my standards there were some issues you can tell the rooms are older and have seen their fair share of families come and go I would definitely recommend this hotel to those looking Deb bring their families in the have a great comfortable time but if you're gonna nit pick this hotel probly isn't for you

I was so glad the breakfast was ample and I didn't have to leave the property to feed my kids. They had waffles, bacon, eggs, and cereal. It was more than most places who offer free breakfast. Much more than the typical continental breakfast.

Love the staff here. My daughter turned 8 years on Sunday and the breakfast lady sang happy birthday to her. It made her so happy. Even though the lady was busy cleaning Every staff member I came in contact with spoke to my daughter and I and smiled

The staff is amazing. Rooms were spacious and squeaky clean. Location is ocean front as well as only a few miles from Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach. Great value for the location. Can't wait to book my next trip!

We live in Murrells Inlet and this was our second stay here at this hotel. We like to get away sometimes and even though we live close we use it as a vacation stay. This time it was too cold to use all the amenities but we love the balcony and having an ocean view. The staff is always nice, it's nice and clean and have a pretty good breakfast. We also love that the rooms come with a stove, microwave, oven and coffee pot. It even has some dishes and they include dish rags and dishwashing liquid. We love it here and plan on staying here again!

All staff was very helpful and the small maintenance problem we had was taken care of quickly and very satisfactorily! We were extremely happy to have the sink drain fixed so rapidly. We would certainly staff at this BS again and this was our first stay.

Customer service, cleanliness of the room and bathroom was amazing. As well as the breakfast bar. Food and coffee is always delicious. Their coffee and creamers are the best. Best Western Never Disappoints us no matter where we go. Whenever they aren't booked this is mainly the hotel our Family spends their nights at. Home away from home is exactly how it feels. Fourth stay in as many years. May try snowbirding in the winter months. Staff was super and met every one of our needs.We checked in on Monday after driving from Greenville SC and went to dinner that evening. We caught the Christmas show at the Alabama theater on Tuesday after doing a little Christmas shopping at the outlet stores We had lunch with relatives on Wednesday at Captain Naances in Calabash NC and visited the Christmas shop. Throughout the staff went out of their way to please. Myra's breakfast was great. Check in and check out were a breeze. We just like the place a lot.

This motel is older but well maintained . It has good amenities hot tub,inside outside swimming pools, tiki bar, lazy river that are well maintained but parking is inconvenient. Located on the beach with good access and great views the pricing makes it a great value .

We showed up, we where so happy with the whole hotel, room was so clean, bed was great, bathroom clean,.. lobby was great, workers in loddy where so nice, gave us candy and water, we cant wait ti go again

A group of ladies and i sponsored a girls retreat for our mentoring program and the girls had a blast. The stay was smooth from checking in to checking out. Second shift made some GREAT coffee and Myra was a sweetheart at breakfast. Bathrooms are a little tight but we managed.

What a wonderful place to stay, quiet and on the beach. There is a great breakfast every day. Nice tiki bar when the weather permits. Rooms were spotless every day and the amount of towels was wonderful too. We loved it and plan to come back.

The room was okay, but obviously needs renovating. Elevator shaky. Was moved into one room that floor was flooded, and other room that had roaches. Staff very apologetic and tried to make amends. Quickly found other rooms and took in account my age (73) and medical issues. Some of the best staff I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. The parking lot is not adequate and you have to park in areas not adjacent to hotel, which does not lend to safety especially at night. The office is not located in same building as the rooms. This means walking across an open area, day or night, rain or shine, to get to the office or breakfast. Love Best Western, love these employees, but the facility leaves much lacking.

room was dirty,there were roaches,sink didn't drain in kitchen,bed skirts didn't were torn and didn't fit the bed,there was mildew on drapes, had not service for maids for 4 days we had to ask for towels everyday then they didn't even speak english,

The Ocean Sands resort is perfectly located for a great experience at the beach and north myrtle beach. The rooms are well laid out, clean and comfortable. This hotel is very nice and highly recommended.

I stay here twice a year. Its in a great location and the employees are great. The rooms could use a little update but other then that I recommend it. They have a very good FREE breakfast bar. From cereal, eggs, yogurt, fruit, bacon,sausage, to make your own waffles and pancakes. The ladies work hard to keep fresh food coming and the counters amd tables wiped down.... Good job ladies.

This is my second time staying at the Best Western Ocean Sands. Love that breakfast is included in the room rate. All rooms are easy walking distance to the beach. If you are more of a pool person it is nice. Had a good pina colada from their Tiki Bar. Our room was upgraded this year to a suite which was a nice surprise. I just love how friendly and helpful all the staff are. The location is an easy drive to many eating places and shopping areas. The beach is really nice and wide. I am already planning my visit for next October!

This place at North Myrtle is a must stay! The breakfast was perfect! The rooms were clean! The pool rocks! The staff were there willing to help and answer any and all questions! If you want to stay in North Myrtle this should be the top of your list! Just be careful about where you park!

This best western is centrally located to everything you may want to do or not do while at the beach with an awesome staff to serve you the tiki bar at the pool is also just another added bonus, I always enjoy staying here

The location was excellent and we had a very nice view.The beach was nice and easy to access.There were quite a few different things for us to enjoy while we were there.All the staff were very kind and hard working.Breakfast was hot and there were quite a few options on the breakfast bar.The only down sides were the room could use updating and parking could be a challenge at times.

Small elevator & smelly breezeway, like moldy clothes. One elevator for 10 floors it took a while. Breakfast ok; waffles & sausage gravy good, but eggs were "pre-fab". Personnel were great. The place would have been ok if the room was not so disappointing. The only thing nice in it was the view but you had to get past the room's funky smell & old furniture. Carpet old & wrinkled. The tub drained slowly so you & the next one stand in 3 inches of dirty water. Worst of all, we requested a non-smoking room & received a room above a smoker. People are allowed to smoke on balconies so it just wafted up to our balcony & even into our room. They allowed us to move but we had another smoker below us. Could not enjoy the view outside unless we were inside with patio door closed. They have multiple buildings so why don't they make ONE building smoking and the others NON-smoking including the balconies. One final thing, we did not see that there were extra fees on TOP of fees and taxes... also we do not think that we received the price per night which we thought we booked it for. For example, next week on the same days it is about $25 less per night on the room rate itself. But we have no way to prove what we initially saw on the website. Our stay here was very disappointing to say the least. Our brother lives in Little River, SC but I don't think that we could stay here again when visiting. And if you hate smoke or mold smell AT ALL, steer clear of this place.

Room was very clean with lots of room. Staff was great. Loved the Tiki bar. Continental breakfast was very good with a large assortment of items. We were here for our anniversary and we will definitely be back.

Happy with our stay. Clean room, free breakfast, nice employees. Only one elevator for the building we stayed in which sometimes took a while, but not a big deal, we occasionally took the stairs. Had a great time being right in the beach.

We enjoy this hotel. It has everything we need in a great location. The breakfast is better than many and opens early. The tiki bar is nice and is a great short break from the beach. It's always well maintained by caring staff.

We stay at this Best Western every time we go to North Myrtle. Perfect location, beautiful oceanfront, excellent breakfast, friendly staff and clean rooms. What more could you ask for!! This BW is best!!!

This hotel is poor at best. Rooms dirty, old, musty smelling, beds terrible/hard, breakfast poor, no available parking, This is a low-poor quality property that should be about $60-75 per night. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Checked in Oct 5,2019. The guy at front desk at about 6pm was the most miserable person. Hotel has the worst parking arrangements had to walk up street to find a spot. Hotel is gross, outdated, NOTHING like the pictures they have online. Will definitely never be back!! The morning workers on Oct 6th were very friendly. Stay elsewhere

Nice hotel near to Barefoot Landing and House of Blues Free hot breakfast and nice, clean rooms. Friendly and professional staff. Parking is limited and can be a problem during busy times. The pool is a little small but nice

this is a great place to stay has 5 or 6 pools heated one too staff is great very helpful tonyan front desk dan front desk jimmy maint free eat in an 6 to10 lots to do in aera great for kids and if want all togather ask about 3 bed room suite seen it . as big as a ranch house talk to bill owner has good place to stay will be back try it your self.
