Best Western North Bay Hotel & Conference Centre

ok even though i work there my guests absolutely horrified about incicent with raven houseperson on sat night. my daughter and cousin went to get toys from room, 161 and 155, to come back to meet us at lounge. raven screamed at them, for apparently running in the hall, there was a wedding going on at same time, very loud, had no drinks beyond this point going into 100s of hall. we were having wine in the lounge and these kids just wanted to grab something from room. they were coming to meet us and raven was screaming at them, and told them to take theyre stuff back to theyre room. they came back to tell us what had happened, and were scared. we were concerned. but it happened 2x. we cautioned them to not go back where she was. this was around 1030. we were sitting in lounge and raven was leaving work for the night and made a point to visit myself and family in the lounge and complain about these guys. before going home. i was embarrassed, my family posting on trip advisor and complaining about raven, although the front desk and housekeeping staff was lovely.

minutes from downtown. Lots of parking and good restaurants close by. Staff were very friendly. Check in was a little slow. Rooms were a good size. The bar staff were terrific.price was reasonable. Would recommend if 8n the area.

Great location and staff. Lovely dining experience. This dining room serves the very best of Italian foods and the breakfasts are delicious. The staff went over and above to help us to get to a location where we needed to go

It's been a prevailage to stay at Best Western North Bay. The hotel and the staff has always amazed us with the excellent guest services and the amenities this place has to offer. Kids loved being in the indoor pool- well maintained and very clean. Farina Italian restaurant has an excellent menu and the mouthwatering food that you can die for. FAB bar has a welcoming ambiance for the evening snacks and beer/wine etc. Guest Rooms are spacious and very clean. Thanks to both Front desk and Housekeeping staff to make our stay memorable. Cannot wait to come back to this place!!

No complaints. We booked last minute as we were dropping our child off at the university. Place is clean just abit dated. Room was clean,air was cold and it was quiet for a good sleep. Would go back again. Was just abit further from the university than we wanted.

I was very disappointed in the Best Western this time around. I have stayed at this location once before and loved my experience. This time as I was sleeping I had a large spider (I have pictures) crawl on me just as I was falling asleep and I have arachnophobia so it was traumatizing for me. I barely slept that night and had to rip apart the second bed in my room (luckily there was one) to try and get to sleep. I left a note for cleaning staff and they did apologize and said the spiders had been bad there this year. After my shower on the second day (after a long day at work) I started checking the one bed I had slept in the night before and found yet another large spider, luckily this time before I was ready for bed. I then moved all of my belongings out of the room as I could not stand to stay in it any longer with now 2 encounters with larger spiders in the beds. The front desk attendant was very helpful and considerate of my situation and asked me to take her to the room to view the spider in the bed, so I did and we took more pictures and she alerted the cleaning woman that was across the way. I was told maintenance would also be notified. She was nice enough to check me into a new room for the night and personally checked the room while I was there to make sure there were no more spiders in those beds. I was still quite scared to be honest considering there was more than one in the other room I was originally checked into. I do understand that spiders can get into hotel rooms and that is perfectly fine, but they certainly should not be in the beds. I'm honestly not sure if I will stay here again. I do love Best Western but this was a terrifying experience for me and I may chose somewhere else to stay the next time I come to North Bay for work, or for pleasure. The front desk attendant told me that apparently the rooms closer to the back of the hotel are worse for the spiders than the front, so if you don't like sleeping with big spiders I would suggest you try to get a room close to the front. My colleagues (both men) after seeing the photos said they would have also not been okay with these guys sharing the bed with them, and both of them catch and release spiders to avoid killing them. Good luck!!

When you walk in the main entrance is amazing clean modern but once you get past that it dirty, mega cobwebs inside and when you look out the windows to see the indoor pool all you see is heavy cob webs.

We were a group of 4 guys on 3 motorcycles. The clerk arranged for us to get a room with a view of the bikes in an enclosed courtyard. And there was a wash bucket next to the door. Very nice touch.The in-house restaurant was great. Italian with a 2 for 1 special the night we arrived. Very tasty at the right price.And right across the street is Lake Nippissing, great for our morning walk.

Two choices of meals Main coarse chicken was nice, not overly hot Vegetables were good, risotto was excellent Staff was accommodating , Rooms clean and nicely decorated My personal room door didn't latch by itself And south side entrance was extremely to open with key card

We were on our way home from Sault Sainte Marie and stopped in Sudbury. We stopped at a few hotels but couldn't find one that would take us without a credit card. On a whim we decided to drive to North Bay hoping we could find accommodations. We have never been to North Bay. The drive from Sudbury was gorgeous. We got into north Bay and called the Best Western. To my surprise a very friendly and understanding lady named Sarah told us to look no further as the Best Western would let us stay without a c.c. The kids were so excited to finally be checking in at almost 9 PM knowing that the pool was waiting for them in the morning. The hotel was really nice and our room was clean and comfortable! Each staff member we came across was smiling and friendly. What a great atmosphere! We stayed 3 nights in North Bay ending pir trip by falling in love with a new Northern town. We cannot wait for our next trip up north and plan to come back to the Best Western! **this review is an edit as my original review was accidentally a 1 out of 5 when it should have been a 5 out of 5***

This is a wonderful place to stay. Staff very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is situated close to many amenities. Room was very clean and beds very comfortable. A/C was noisy but kept the room nice and cool. I would definitely stay again.

We were coming home from Sault Sainte Marie and stopped in sunbury. We couldn't get a room with a pool in sunbury as we don't have a credit card. On a whim we decided to head towards north bay hoping to find accommodations without needing a credit card. When we got to north bay we looked at all the hotel options and called Best Western and that's when Sarah answered the phone and saved our trip. We checked in at nearly 9 PM and it was easy and fast. We stayed 3 nights in total because we enjoyed the town so much and the staff at the hotel made everything easy for us

Friendly helpful staff, great rates, relaxing atmosphere. Rooms were clean and all in working order. Had a great sleep! On checkout, the staff helped me out with some business matters with no issues at all. We would stay again! Great location just across from the lake.

Best Value for your money? One of the only hotel in North Bay with all amenities, including a great full service restaurant and bar lounge. Great food, great staff. Close to HWY, waterfront and other amenities in town, great location.

If you are visiting North Bay in the summer, make sure you check whether it is the shad fly season. I was told it lasts for 3-4 weeks. You should google it if you don't know what it is. The hotel did nothing to address the problem, even the front door is covered. Room is clean, and internet is good, but lighting is very weak (weaker comparing to other BW locations). Front desk is friendly. Restaurant in the hotel doesn't have discount for hotel guests. Slow. Service not impressive and food (I ordered the shrimp pasta) is pretty average.

After travelling 8 hours with a five-month-old, a three-year-old, and a flu stricken husband, Laura and the staff at the Best Western could not have been more accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable and had everything we needed including crackers and fluids for my unwell husband. Now that's service! The room was great and the restaurant was fantastic! We couldn't have asked for better service and we felt like we were family. We have now found our new favourite place in North Bay and will definitely be back.

We had a good 2 night stay in a 2 bedroom suite on the main floor. Lots of space in the room. Overall the place is nice, maybe a bit dated but cosy. The pool is large, I think the largest I've seen in this hotel category. Stopped for a quick breakfast at the Italian restaurant on the premises which was convenient. The restaurant is crowded but nicely decorated. Dinner was testy and service was OK, maybe a bit overpriced for the area.

From reception to check-out all personnels were polite, helpful and courteous with a smile. The rooms are well furnished with a real comfortable bed, clean and a refrigerator that allows you to have an open bar (for the family) The restaurant provides a good menu, excellent food (we never ate outside the hotel) and the good services provided by the waitresses almost exceed the good food..

Exhausted from a 3,000 mile road trip, this was our last stop. The Hotel Manager convinced me to drive no further and we booked one of her last rooms. The room was clean, beds sturdy and the hot tub and pool were a welcome diversion for our road buzz. She mentioned the Italian restaurant on site. It was incredible. This was the best food and our server also most accommodating to change portions and delay our entree'. We'd recommend this to families, couples or business travelers.

This hotel was very accommodating and as expected. I was originally here for business but needed to check out a day of early. Marley at checkin was very polite and professional. At check out, Laura was accommodating with my date change. You are fortunate to have such engaged associates. The room was as expected, clean and basic. The location is very beautiful in the summer, across from the lake and surrounded by large deciduous trees. My room was on the corner so very quiet. Great stay

Stayed for 4 nights with an atom hockey team. The hotel was very accommodating. The room was clean and the staff friendly. The on-site restaurant was very good, and the staff there was very good. Friendly and patient!

We are just returning from attending a Rotary conference and were really pleased with his welcoming, friendly and happy the Staff were to welcome us and our dog! As dog owners and frequent travellers we are often looking to bring our 60 lb dog with us. A lot of hotels will say dog friendly and then when you call to book they as how big is your dog. If over 50 lbs they are often quite “prejudice” and will refuse our pup. Very frustrating, as he is likely cleaner and less of a hassle then some humans I am sure. This hotel, when booking was thrilled (literally-the staff love dogs) and ensured us there would not be an extra charge for our furry family member. Upon check in they were happy to meet him and in no way made us feel like we were an inconvenience for bringing him. Thank you to the great staff at The Best Western of North Bay! Rooms were also very clean and good space for our conference. Easy parking and great walking area for the dog.

great room, great staff, location could be better, but the TV reception is horrible, scrambles at random, blank screen with sound etc... has been an ongoing problem at this hotel for months. was told by staff its been reported and nothing they can do about it in this remote area of NORTHBAY lol

Traditional layout, but nicely updated. Unlike the modern style, the room is laid out for convenience of the guest. Good bed, desk and other accessories, with lots of plug ins. Best phone charger I have ever used in a hotel. One of the nicest Best Westerns I have ever stayed in. Definitely return.

We got there late but got to enjoy a nice pickerel supper. Too bad they offer 20% off only to locals on Thursdays, we kind of felt unappreciated as guess of the hotel. Although our stay was relaxing and enjoyable.

I stayed one night during a recent business trip to North Bay. I was completely satisfied with this property. Location is a bit distant from the airport and downtown, but is close to a range of local services and amenities. Very nice room which was clean and quiet. Very large parking lot. Can't comment on the restaurant and amenities as I didn't use them. Good impression dealing with staff, who were friendly and accommodating. I'd stay here again, felt I received good value for money, and I would recommend to friends and colleagues.

Meets the Best Western standard of cleanliness. Great location. Across from lake. Easy access to East Side Mario's, grocery and amenities. Pool and hot tub are lovely at the end of a long day. Welcoming front desk staff and very clean rooms.

Stayed here recently and the room was clean, you have free WiFi, flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers. Upgraded rooms add microwaves, minifridges, iPod docks and pull-out sofas. friendly staff and convenient location! You can find shopping and restaurnats near by! The price was reasonable as well. I would stay here again!

Easy access fro. Highways , lakeshore location , pool , hot tub , restaurant all first class. The staff are professionals, making this one of the places I will return to. Booked in with caa , very reasonable rate .

We arrived at 9pm on december 30th with lots of extra luggage we diden't want to leave in the car to freeze, we had requested a quiet room so they put us on the 2nd floor but there was no elevetor so asked to be mooved to the 1st floor and the clerck went out of her way to accomodate us as there was a wedding party and a hockey team. We had a very quiet and restfull night. This is our preffered stop travelling 1350 km to visit our kids.

Great place overall awesome value. Oferrs everything we need. Best value in North Bay. Has pool and hot tub. Great restaurant and conference facilities. Awesome for business meetings or family gatherings.

Travelled to North Bay from hometown 3 hours north to do Christmas Shooping. The hotel is conveniently located half way between the two main shopping area but has a rural feel to it since it is across the road from Lake Nippissing. The staff are friendly and helpful and make feel very much at home.

We were invited to a Christmas Party and we had a fabulous time the food at the buffet was extremely good..a very good variety of meats and salads..it was very nicely put together..service at the bar was exceptional and so were the drinks..would recommend this hotel to friends

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Excellent accommodations, very relaxing. The restaurant's food was excellent with the staff being very knowledgable of their wines and house specialties. looking forward to my visit in January

We stayed here for a hockey tournament. The hotel rooms could use a face lift and smelled of smoke. The pool was very nice and warm for the kids. The staff were friendly and handled the amount of guests very well.

I liked the bed it was very clean and comfortable. The price was reasonable considering the amenities. Staff were polite and helpful. If I give on critique it s the water pressure was lower then I would have liked. That being said I will return.

This is Not the place you want to stay if there is a group of kids/teens staying there (I.E.) Hockey Team) Everything from kids running up and down the halls all night, to ice fights at the ice maker, to knocking on your door all night to playing catch in the parking lot and hitting your car. So with that being said. The price was right and it's a good location but just call the hotel first and see what other type of guest are staying there. The staff was nice and helpful and the Italian restaurant was very nice and good food for a good price. Do Not book groups with kids/teens are booked there.

We were only in North Bay for one night and the Best Western was a good choice. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and the rooms were very clean. The only negative was no elevator in the building which was a little problematic because we had a senior travelling with us. There were no rooms available on the first floor but they were able to move us closer to the lobby so there was less walking.

Arrived later in the evening. Counter staff was friendly and helpful and handled my checkin quickly. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Internet speed was excellent. However the thing I love best about this place is the Italian Restaurant they have - the food is amazing!

Always stay at Best Western North Bay - when visiting the area. The staff are very friendly - bed is sooo comfortable, and love Farinas' the hotels' onsite Italian themed restaurant! Will definitely stay here again on my next trip to North Bay!

This hotel is a great value, Farina is an amazing restaurant, had breakfast and dinner there. Great staff, very friendly. Only issue, is they need to put hairdryers in the room. Close to the waterfront. Will stay again

This Hotel has everything Pool, Restaurant , gym etc.. no need to go out for anything . The staff are friendly and try to help you the best they can and make sure your stay is the best Thank you Best Western Pembroke for doing it again.

Our stay at BW was comfortable., the reception was wonderful but the room lock was broken and the washroom door needed some repair. The breakfast is not included for the price and could be costly if more than two. I don't appreciate being nickeled and dimed. I do not recommend BW and will not be booking another stay with them.

This facility is old and out of date. We were given a room that was "a mile" from the nearest entrance and that far away from the front desk area. No luggage carts were conveniently available. Bed was very comfortable, but that was about it. Restaurant was OK, but nothing special. Very disappointed that breakfast was not included with the room. Will find another alternative next time we are passing through.

We hadn't planned to stay in North Bay for the night and at the last minute we contacted the hotel and they accommodated us. Front desk staff was amazing. Very helpful. We will definitely stay again. Lots of close by very nice restaurants to dine at.

Our trip to the north was a tough one. With a layover in Toronto and a long bus ride to follow, we couldn't wait to check-in. Upon arrival we're greeted by friendly staff and familiar faces (good to be home). Check in was a breeze since we'd reserved on-line. This is a good modern hotel. The room was excellent but probably a little small by North American standards. Nothing was too much bother for the reception staff. I was not more generous with the stars because the dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were expansive. I would suggest that a dinner bed and breakfast package would suit tourers better

Excellent Motel to stay at would stay there anytime and recommend this Motel to anyone, the parking is very good and clean, the dining room is also very good and reasonably priced and the food was also excellent, can not ask for a better Motel.

Hotel was easy to find and close to everything we needed. The overall stay was comfortable. Rooms were roomy with comfortable beds if we were to be in this area we would choose to stay at this BW again

My family & I stayed here 2 nights for a wedding. I felt the price was high but we chose this place out of convenience sake since we have 2 small kids & the reception was on-site. When we arrived there was a slight problem with someone double booking one of our rooms but it was handled well by the front desk staff. They had to switch our rooms (we booked 2 adjoining) which meant one of our rooms was still dirty. Not a huge problem because we waiting in our 1 room for the 2nd to be ready, but it would have been more inconvenient if we only had 1 room & had to wait in the lobby for it to be ready! Our rooms seemed nice & cleaning staff was super friendly. By the end of the first day though, there was awful smells coming from both bathrooms. While bathing my kids I noticed black mold around the edge of the tub & in the time grout. The next day the smell was unbearable & I had to call the staff to come clean the bathrooms. They were apologetic & did come clean but then it just smelled very strongly of bleach...and the mold was still there. The beds were very comfy & clean but I probably would not stay here again

Good, modern hotel. Amenities as expected, staff friendly and helpful. Good location in Town. Good entertainment in the establishment when I was there. Restaurant well appointed and lounge comfortable.

Often 3 stars means that there is a problem with the hotel but really, can't complain about anything. It is clean, beds comfortable - lots of parking, but really for the price there was nothing to write home about. Very small pool. Old décor. Low ceiling hallways. Would stay here again but would try to find something cheaper.

If noise bothers you, avoid the rooms close to the refrigeration trucks. We had numerous issues, involving toilets, USB ports non functioning televisions and noise from trucks. With one exception the staff responded quickly to address the issue. The restaurant is very good as is the bar for a quick bite. The location is close to the Highway for quick access.

Very friendly staff, breakfast was hearty and hot each morning. Coffee to go not a problem. I had a suite on the second floor. No elevator however, staff were very helpful, available and willing to cart luggage etc up and down the stairs when required. Room was cleaned and restocked with toiletries each day. This hotel was clean and has all the amenities you would need. The food is very good at this property. A true Northern Ontario Full service gem. I have made this my place to stay on many occasions when in the North Bay area on business. The property has conference services, pool, a great restaurant, an newly renovated lounge. They even have a snow mobile lock up for those that love that winter activity. it is located across from Lake Nippissing.

We were very satisfied with our stay. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were attending a wedding in Astorville so the location was good. Lots of restaurants nearby. The only thing we were disappointed with was that there wasn't a continental breakfast included. It's the only hotel that we have stayed at that didn't include some type of breakfast.

Very clean hotel. Nice helpful staff. However the hallways are a little dark & room door was in need of repair. We could not get our key to work and had to find a person to open. The meal we ordered from the restaurant was very average. Spaghetti was dry...not enough sauce and the meatballs had too much filling and not enough meat.

Room was good. Staff was great! We asked what we could do and see in North Bay and they prepared a "tourist package" for us while we ate breakfast and brought it to our table from the front desk. Restaurant staff was very good. Two thumbs up!

Planned to stay here 3 nights but the bed was so I uncomfortable I checked out in the middle of the night. Definitely not worth what they are charging per night. Will never stay at a best western again. The Italian restaurant was amazing though!... great food. Unfortunately if I'm paying to stay in a hotel I expect a great nights sleep.... very disappointed. Also, not wheelchair accessible which I was very surprised... i had a dinner guest who is in a wheelchair. I thought all businesses had to have wheelchair accessible doors now?

Nice big hotel with great staff. The food in their restaurant is wonderful and priced correctly. Rooms gives me everything I need and are clean. Wi-Fi is stable through out the complex. If all is needed is a single room I suggest you ask not to have a connecting room as you can hear everything. I stayed there weekly for several month because of my job and they treated me like family. When staying in North Bay for business or pleasure the Best Western on Lakeshore is my first choice.

great room, bed, pillows and clean except the second day no housekeeping come to clean our room or restock towels called up front and was told they were busy with other customers finally got room cleaned after 5pm the second day staff needs some lessons

We did a road trip from Toronto to Manitoulin Island, stopped into North Bay for a couple of days, not familiar with North Bay at all and booked this Best Western from home, not sure what to expect even with pic the hotel offered online, i travelled with my wife and 2 daughters 15 & 18, the Best Western was great, easy to find, great location, very clean, staff is very nice right from booking it over the phone in Toronto, great customer service, very nice swimming pool, sauna and again, very clean, great spot for an overnight stop or even a few days to see some of North Bays sites. very quiet we had great relaxation and great sleep.......what else you need???

Stayed in this Hotel as part of a Family Wedding Group. Had reserved a non-smoking room and was given a room that reeked of cigarette smoke. When requesting room change was advised that nothing was available & nothing could be done as all the 2 Double Bed rooms were booked. At this point in time a room upgrade should have been given. Was at the front desk again on the Saturday morning as this was a 2-night stay, was told again a 2-double bed room was most likely not avail for the Saturday night as well- I informed the front desk staff that this was unacceptable & I would not stay in a smoked filed room a second night in a row & to figure it out. Front Desk Staff Extremely Unhelpful & not at all Friendly, P.S. Went to a Wedding with my Formal Clothing smelling like smoke......NOT AT ALL HAPPY...

Beverly at the front desk was friendly and made arrangements for our stay to be a wonderful experience with BW. All the staff were approachable and friendly. Lots of amenities one of which having a pool that was warm.

Not a bad place. Few issues though. Two floor hotel with no elevator so no choice but to carry your items up the stairs. Sounds trivial but no TV guide. The wifi was down but was fixed by the next morning There is a restaurant but I love when BW has the breakfast included and they don't. The bathroom was not clean, sorry but it wasn't. Lots of hair in the tub and a big spider in the corner. My husband told me though to not say anything at the front desk.

The location is right near the lake and close to beaches, movie theatre, fast food etc. There is nothing special about the hotel but it was clean and the staff friendly. Be aware that there is no elevator so if you have heavy luggage or trouble with stairs, ask for a room on the first floor. There is no included breakfast either but plenty of places close by.

Had a suite with a king size bed on the second floor. Clean room. Nice bed and pillows. But there was no pressure in shower (dripping). Wi-fi worked for an hour only. No elevator for the second floor.

Staff was welcoming, provided good advice on food and stores. Was delivering a class in one of the conference rooms and we had lunch from the hotel's restaurant. It was delicious and reasonably priced. Rooms were nice (both guest room and conference room), there are several good restaurants nearby, and both the front desk staff and our porter who helped us with the meeting room (Scott) were great.

excellent staff that make you feel welcomed. Rooms are clean, bed is comfortable. close to the water for an evening walk. I hear there are beaches near by, but I didn't get a chance to explore. This hotel has a pool, but I didn't get a chance to go in.

Clean room, excellent bed, shower and towels. Was worried a pet friendly room may show wear and tear or have odors, but not here. Loved the food at the sports lounge (and atmosphere). A stay again hotel.

We booked on-line and stayed for 1 night only with our small dog. Check in was friendly and helpful, there was no extra charge for the dog, beds were fine, room was clean, and the restaurant was excellent. We would stay again.

It's your average clean hotel room. with no frills.But it does offer a great location on Lakeshore. No free breakfast, but I highly recommend the restaurant; Farina's. I no longer live in North Bay, but this restaurant is a hidden gem of a restaurant in North Bay!

Let us in early and stay late! Very nice and professional staff. The staff were very accommodating. The Internet was great and the tv channels had a lot of selection. Overall was a very good experience.

Hotel is a bit dated but very clean and the price was very reasonable. Friendly and professional staff. Very nice pool, hot tub and sauna and also very clean. Room was clean and quiet. Note this hotel has two stories and their is no elevator (if you have a problem with stairs). This hotel is close to shopping and restaurants. There is a good restaurant right in the Best Western ( Farina). Short drive to the beautiful downtown beach. Overall my wife and I really enjoyed our four day vacation. EC

A very good visit to this location The service was excellent and the staff was well qualified to server my needs The location was well situated to meet my |Family needs and was excellent to use the Chee CheeMund Ferry for cruses.

Loud a/c unit sounded like a Harley, first room was dirty and smelled of smoke so they switched me to another, key never worked so I had to go back to desk for new ones a few times, pool area was not clean, no towels and way to much chlorine, said online that breakfast was included but it wasn't, and had to but large damage deposit onto credit card and at checkout they put a credit onto card. wasn't to comfortable with this ($600 deposit for 3 nights). Overall was not happy so I checked out early and spent last night of my trip at the Holiday Inn, was more money but I was happy there. I have never had a bad experience with Best western until now, Very disappointed, but I have also stayed in much worse but not for $120 a night.

Lovely hotel, clean, updated, comfortable, good food for dinner and breakfast. Nice location . Friendly staff, Would stay again for sure. Bring soap as there was no bars of soap in our room. We stayed on the first floor , very handy.

Hotel is great. Good prices free internet friendly staff. And has a pool and hot tub. Close to the beach would stay again. Only thing ... wish breakfast was included other then that great stay. Very quiet and lovely bed the rooms very spacious

This is an wonderful venue for a conference. The service is excellent. The staff is very courteous, friendly and helpful. The food is excellent as well. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The beds are extremely comfortable. Those who used the pool were very pleased with it. I highly recommend this Hotel and Conference Centre to anyone looking for a venue.

I stay in different hotels while travelling for my job. This Best Western is most probably the cleanest. It is clear that the cleaning staff have pride in what they do. The front desk staff are always positive and make customer service their priority. I am always comforted to know when I travel to North Bay that my accommodation provides such comfort.

Very pleasant hotel in an excellent location, We really enjoyed the pool, the temp was perfect. The young man on reception gave us excellent advice on places to visit and told us about the Owl restaurant where we had a fabulous lunch

Booked two rooms for two night stay, staff were polite and friendly. First night had very noisy people in adjoining room but second night was great as they had moved out. Actual room was spotless and comfortable and I particularly liked the largish fridge,internet was nice and fast.

This was a normal hotel, with the things you would expect. An adequate exercise room, a pool and sauna. Good rooms. But the breakfast... It came with not the continental breakfast, or the eggs / bacon / waffles that you see at many hotels, but a full breakfast at their restaurant. This was a breakfast worth eating!

A very busy hotel but staff are friendly and accommodating. Older and a little tired décor but functional. Restaurant on site makes dining choices easy except it was a little too fancy for the three grandchildren. Pool was warm - perfect!

Friendly staff and nice clean hotel. The staff went above and beyond to meet our requests and they were very professional to deal with. The housekeeping staff were very helpful as well. The room as clean as was the entire hotel.

Just your average stay, not bad. A no frills place to sleep internet was poor, walls seem thin, and breakfast is not included. I would come here again because the parking lot afford me a big place to turn around with my truck and 12ft trailer. staff seem to be having a rough day...

A reasonably priced, no surprises hotel with basic amenities and a cheerful staff. Everything works the way it's supposed to work. Room décor is a celebration of beige--could use an update. Otherwise a solid choice for an overnight on the way through North Bay.

Very happy staying here. Bed was very comfortable and the staff were excellent. Only thing that's a little disappointing with facility was there was no elevator to help move boxes of supplies to the conference rooms (it's only one floor but the work of going up and down the stairs numerous times setting up and tearing down the rooms was more work than expected).

A beautiful location, nice scenic views from the restaurant and staff that are superb. I arrived with the dog at 10:30 pm asked about the restaurant, told it closes at 11 but the waitress said not to worry she would take the order and deliver it to the room. I chose Pickerel and it was amazing, she even added two pieces of bacon for Zeus. Breakfast was included ..but get this you order off the menu just blew me away, great breakfast, again awesome staff. The facility is beautiful lots of windows on to a nice view, nice pool area. The best part for dog was the huge area out back that he could run and play. Its a nicely maintained clean hotel with staff that really seem to care about the quality of your stay. Front desk staff, restaurant and cleaning staff all provide an exceptional experience. Thank you we will see you all again.

Room thoroughly clean...hospitality on arrival exemplary...they have people working here who live here...inquired as to the nature of our visit....asked about our home area...they were very helpful about eateries in the area...one very wonderful feature was 4 pillows per bed!

cute hotel great location, friendly staff. if you have mobility issues or are having a conference here like we did and have a lot to set up request a room on the first floor as they have no elevator and you will need to carry your luggage and conference material up the stairs...ugh not bad if its a few things, but we had to easily make 75 trips up and down stairs with heavy items!

A very nice hotel to stay at when visiting North Bay, Ontario. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with the exception of the bathroom, which was quite small and could use updating. There is a good size pool and hot tub to relax in the evening. The beds are very very comfortable.

Thank you for such a comfortable stay. The food was exceptional at the Farina restaurant. I look forward to my next stay in May when I will be back on another business trip. I hope I have time to take advantage of the pool and other facilities.

BW is normally pretty good but this one was not! Other than being a clean room , overall stay was very poor. reserved one room and placed in another when I arrived. too many broken items. phone, could dial out or front desk, shower no pressure, TV channels cut out while watching, Internet slow. Restaurant was average at best. slow and staff had to keep running back to chef to ask questions.

You must eat at the Farina Ristorante , Food and service is top notch and well priced. The only disappointment was the terrible lighting that was harsh and non-dimmable which took away from our romantic evening . Proper lighting and romantic Italian music in the background would make this the best place to eat in North Bay . Charles and Diane

I had the occasion to stay at the BW in North Bay again this past week. Always satisfied with my stay - in particular the friendly employees. FAB lounge is a great place to unwind at the end of the day. Well done - look forward to staying here again next time I am in North Bay!

We enjoyed staying at this hotel, the room was nice, the food at the Farina Ristorante was excellent, the pool and hot tub were nice, there is also a sauna and an exercise facility that we didn't have time to use. We will be back in a month or two, and will stay at this hotel.

Large Rooms, reasonably priced. Walk to beaches and waterfront. Great staff and ver clean rooms. Lounge and restaurant is a nice touch. Pool nice and clean with Hot Tub whirlpool. Large and small rooms for hosting meetings and seminars. Short distance to restaurants and local entertainment downtown.

If you are looking for a hotel to host a conference, sports team, wedding etc. then this is a great hotel to choose. It has lots of rooms and a large facility. The staff are friendly and quick. The restaurants inside are both lovely and perfect for any meal. Though it is lacking in its more modern look, it makes up for it in its functionality. I very much enjoyed my stay here. One draw back is that it is not located in the downtown core. Yet, it is across from the lake and can be used for that purpose as a summer vacation spot hotel.

This hotel was clean and exceeded my expectations for an overnight trip for a meeting. Parking was free. Caution when reserving to find out whether Breakfast is included in the Room Price. The Restaurant for Breakfast has a varied menu; food and service were really good.

Decent price of $107/night but never again. My first room had an incredible stale smoke/body odour! The second room was not much better! This hotel unfortunately seems to be very dated and requires quite a bit of upgrading or re-modernization!

Great staff and location. Room was clean and Quiet. Hot breakfast not included at this Best Western bur it is at most others. Could have purchased breakfast at the onsite restaurant but chose to go elsewhere. Stayed at another Best Western the next day for the same amount and breakfast was included

This hotel has been updated since our last stay. Overall the hotel was very clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and made you feel that they appreciated you choosing their hotel .Plenty of well lit parking spots. We were travelling with 2 trucks and boats and they were very understanding. We would consider this hotel again when staying in the area.

I was up in North bay for a conference last week. October the 18th to the 21. I stayed at the Best Western and I really loved it. The whole place was very nice. I had room 291 I think and it was very clean and really well kept. The maids asked me everyday if I needed anything. I had a thousand questions and was helped by the nicest front desk person. A young man named Craig. He helped me so much and gave me directions and helped to call taxis for me. I had the chance to visit my cousins who I had not seen in many years and Craig helped me to make those arrangements too. I really loved North Bay and the beautiful shopping and landscape and the wonderful people. I would definitely go back to North Bay and I would stay at the Best Western again. thank you Julia Beyer Jeffries

I'm not usually impressed but this Best Western has a hidden Gem that makes it a fabulous place - their Italian restaurant! My room was 103 with a king bed. Mattress was very comfy and they had nice sheets and good pillows. I checked the mattress pad under the sheets and it appears housekeeping is doing a good thorough job of cleaning. Bathroom was clean and didn't have have that worn out appearance that you often see in older hotels. . Good amount of towels in the bathroom that were softer then most in mid priced hotels. rug was clean and fridge/ coffee maker/ microwave were working. Internet speed was excellent as I was able to watch Netflix with no issues. Front desk seemed a bit understaffed but they may have more people on during busy times. Their hidden gem is the restaurant! For dinner I had their seasonal squash soup and their regular menu braised lamb shank and finished off with a chudleighs apple blossom with ice cream. They also have a good selection of mid priced wines. What really impressed me was that when I sat down at the table and ordered my meal they brought out a fresh warm crusty garlic loaf with a small bowl of black and green olives along with a small plate that they poured olive oil and balsamic vinegar into for dipping the bread. The Olive oil and balsamic vinegar were good quality so it was a great treat that I usually only get at much more expensive places. My sever was fabulous - friendly, attentive and yet very professional. I didn't get a chance to check our the pool or fitness center so I can't comment on those areas. I think the only issue I had was my door was hard to close when leaving the room. However I would definitely return to this hotel!

Travel for business every other week. Booked at BW, understanding that breakfast was included which the website stated. Was told moring of, that was not the case. TV HD channels not working properly, was told they are working on it.

Stayed for business trip, hotel had all amenities we needed, rooms were clean and comfy, new microwaves and fridges in the rooms, Italian themed restaurant was excellent, food a little pricey but worth it, hotel had a pool but didn't use it, hotel front desk staff were fabulous! Conference was big and spacious, technology seemed up to date, great stay overall

Best Western -North Bay - Not........ We stayed at the Best Western, North Bay for two nights in August 2016, visiting family. Air Miles Canada gives a choice of Best Western or Hamptons where we usually stay. Hamptons wasn't available on this trip on my points. New motels/hotels are normally a better choice than "old" motels. Best Western is an old motel, I believe about 40 years or older ( 2 floors, no elevator) We were on the first floor, so that didn't matter. I'll give you the good news first: We were greeted very well at the front desk by Sarah. There is plenty of parking (free). The motel is located on the main street through the West Ferris section of North Bay. Matter of fact Lakeshore Drive is the main artery through the Ferris area which runs by Lake Nipissing. There is a large indoor pool, which we inspected and it appeared clean and bright. We didn't swim. You get spoiled when you have a pool back home in your back yard. There is an on site restaurant we didn't eat at either. We had a supper there a number of years ago and it was quite good. Best Western North Bay advertises itself as the only full service motel/resort with restaurant and conference centre, and there were two weddings there when we stayed. It is within a few minutes drive of two large public beaches at Sunset Park and Champlain Park at the end of Premier Rd. There is a very small public beach access across the road. Nipissing University and Canadore College and the main hospital are about a 20 minute drive. (Hampton Inn is much closer, as are some other motels/hotels). The beds were extremely comfortable. Our room and bathroom were updated and we had a flat screen TV and fridge. The room appeared fairly clean. Heres the bad news: 1. Probably because of the onsite restaurant, you don't get a free breakfast. Yes there is coffee but only until 5 pm, an to be honest, it didn't taste good at all. I just use milk in coffee without sweeteners, so I can appraise coffee pretty quickly. No free paper either that I could see. (I picked up breakfast take out at Tim Hortons about 5 minutes drive up the road). 2. Our inside lock did not work, and the extra security lever had had its two screws pushed out, and screwed back in closer to the door edge, so it didn't work either. I advised the front desk. This wasn't something new but either no one else complained or it never got fixed. 3. Although the beds were comfortable, the comfortable was placed between two bed sheets, instead of the one duvet type set which Hamptons used and swears it is washed every time. 4. The towel rack in the bathroom was screwed in over the toilet right beside the tub, so when I attempted to adjust the water in the shower I managed to bump my head twice (didn't hurt since I moved slow!) when I straightened. Obvious design problem. 5. Although the motel advertises it was renovated, we noticed the wall paper circa 1980s was not replaced and really dated the unit. The lamps appeared to be original or fairly old, and if the furniture was new, it had the 1980s design again. The carpet was newer, but again, very dated looking and it didn't really spruce up the unit. 6. The points with Air Miles seemed to be about the same number as a much nicer, much newer Hamptons. I checked the price difference on the interned and it looked like perhaps a $10 lower price/night at Best Western over Hamptons. But so much nicer at Hamptons, with free breakfast, coffee and tea all day long, free fruit and cookies during the day. No I'm not a Hampton employee either. Just that New is New, and Old is not and breakfasts being free especially for a family including a nicer motel/hotel is a big plus. Hope this will help in your decisions.

Check in was fast, courteous and professional. Room was spotlessly clean, beds comfortable, amenities met expectations. Front desk assistance during our stay was exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond expectations on a couple of occasions. Wifi signal was strong and consistent. Location very convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

First off, I have to say that for a wedding venue, the hall was very nice! The rooms we stayed in were very clean too. The lobby had a very fishy smell the first day which was not pleasant. My real disappointment is with the management/staff attitude. When I called to book the rooms which were reserved for the wedding which were supposed to be a group rate, I found I was given the normal nightly rate, not a discounted group rate. I was also told that there were no "Queen" rooms left, only Doubles. So, I went through Expedia and booked a Queen room for a much discounted rate. When we arrived, we were put in a double room so I went to the front desk and asked to be moved. I was told that they actually didn't have to move me because I booked through a third party, however, they had a cancellation so moved us anyway. Ummmmm, your hotel has a contract with the third party, so don't you have to honour that?? They also admitted that they have heard their group rates are not that good and many people book through a third party for the cheaper rate. Our room only had shampoo and soap for the ammenities; we asked for conditioner and were told that they only put that in the Suite rooms. Really?? You want people to book a suite for approximately $40.00 more per night for a .25 bottle of conditioner? Even the shampoo we used the first morning was not replenished. We had to go buy our own. Very poor treatment of their guests unless you spend top dollar for a room. For the price of this hotel, they do not offer a continental breakfast either, which many of the other area hotels do. We stayed for convenience of the wedding, however, I would not ever go back, nor would I recommend because if you aren't spending the big bucks to stay, you are treated like a third rate citizen. VERY POOR attitude! The front desk staff were nice enough, except for the remarks making us feel very low because we didn't book directly with them. And I know that they are following management rules. The father of the bride (knowing our story for booking) went to the management and got a discounted rate for another guest staying too as these people all travelled a long way for this wedding and the hotel did NOT give group rates. Very disappointing!!!

Many times on our way North we have enjoyed the friendly, professional staff and a comfy well-equipped room - and a pleasant walk to the Lake. This past weekend though we noticed that a refresh was needed, as odours assailed our nostrils: the foyer smelled 'fishy', the hallway 'musty' and our room had a weird chemical smell - especially when the AC was turned on. (Also, new towels are needed to replace the sandpaper ones.) Otherwise, it would be a very enjoyable night's stop.

Well we had booked through Expedia because we found the prices cheaper,We had booked two rooms for a wedding we were attending ! And the hotel said they had a group rate !!We checked and they did not .so when we arrived to check in at first they could not find one of our rooms ,but in the end they did ,we had booked two rooms with queen size beds !!! When we got to our rooms one of the rooms ended up being two doubles. So we went down to the desk to have it changed they said because we booked through Expedia that they really did not have to give us a queen !! Even thou we booked two queens !mind you they did give us a room !!later on we notice we had only shampoo no conditioner so my brother went down to get some ? To be told you need to be in a suit to get conditioner wow talk about making you feel like a second class citizens

Overall hotel was good, with a nice restaurant offering good food. Only had breakfast, so can't comment on dinner/lunch. Upon arriving at the room had to give the stuck door a good kick to get it to open. For the most part the room was clean, the only quibbles were the tub overflow drain was broken and shower head was leaky, and water continued to drain from the main faucet filling up the tub which was slow to drain. Beds were firm and comfy. A/C was very effective, i.e. nice and cold. Had an adjoining room for my mother which she accidentally locked using the night dead bolt from the inside when leaving via our room. My wife went to the front desk to get help and they arranged to get the off duty manager to come and jimmy her door open. He did a commendable and prompt job getting the door open but took a rather condescending, "what a dumb thing to do", attitude toward my wife as he did his work. The only good to come of that incident is we were given free breakfast vouchers.

We had our entire family and friends stay at the Best Western North Bay to attend our Wedding on August 13th and everyone was very happy with experience, They all told us that we could not of picked a nicer place the staff and full service amenities were more then anyone had expected. Rooms were very comfortable and the wedding hall and service made for the best wedding they had been to. We give a big THANK YOU! to all the staff at the Best Western Hotel North Bay and would recommend this hotel to everyone that wants to stay on vacation or to plan a wedding.

Hotel staff Damion was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very nice and clean. Everything worked. The pool and hot tub were nice and we had a great time. The food for dinner and breakfast was great. The hotel was in a good location nice short walk to the beach to watch a beautiful sunset.

We were there for one night only. We arrived a bot early and were given a room right away. Later diring the day we realized that we were in the section with animals . 4 barking dogs. We asked the front desk for a change of room and were granted it right away. We tried the restaurant for dinner and it was delicious and the service impeccable. Would return and recommend it.

Our family stayed at this hotel twice. Beautiful area. Rooms were clean, Staff was wonderful. I love Sunset Park, the kids enjoyed themselves. I can't say enough how the staff was kind at check in and check out. See you next time.

We stay here at least once a year while touring on our motorcycle - the beds are very comfortable - nice pool and hot tub for relaxing in at the end of a long day of riding - great Italian Restaurant this is one of the main reasons we keep returning - also serves good breakfast - they let you park your motorcycle under the canopy by the front door (this makes my husband extremely happy) definitely will be returning

We recently spent 3 nights at this hotel for our family reunion. We moved it here last minute and it's the best thing we could have done. From dealing with Angela for booking a block of rooms and organizing dinner to the front staff. The people were outstanding and the hotel was perfect for all of us. Not one complaint from our group of over 30 people! An excellent experience!

The hotel provided excellent service. The pool was large and well kept with long hours available. A TV was quickly replaced. The breakfast was not included but the extra reasonable cost was well worth it. Being on the second floor with no elevator was more difficult than we expected as seniors. The bed was very comfortable and the room just what we needed.

Just stayed the one night but the staff was so friendly and happy...you could tell they enjoyed there job...very helpful in getting to our next destination...room very clean and bed comfortable...great pillows...we enjoyed our stay very much...will definitely stay again...Thanks goes to the staff...

We stayed at this motel for a quick family visit in North Bay Ontario on Lakeshore near Lake Nipissing. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and very reasonably priced with a restaurant. We would definitely stay again.

A good Best Western Hotel. There is a nice pool in the building. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Everything in the room was working well and we had no issues with anything. There is a restaurant on-site (Farina) and the breakfast (not-included) is quite good. The staff were very friendly and helpful - even took the time to tells us about the shad-fly invasion that took place in the city while were there! I would certainly stay here again. Lots of parking and easy to get into and out of.

Our room was ground floor,as we had our two boys with us for the trip. Staff Very Friendly,and helpful. Restaurant had Fair prices,and Enjoyable Food.....Would stay there again .....No Question ! ! Hotel was situated close to all amenities the city had to offer. Room was Extremely Clean and Comfortable ! A/C was also included in the room.

Hotel is good... Nice and clean... Rooms were quite ... Check in process is fast and efficient. Restaurant: didn't use as too expensive for breakfast . Would be better if breakfast was included in the pricing like some of the nearby competitors Easy access from the highway.

I have just checked into this hotel and was pleased from the very beginning! The staff have been wonderful, the room is clean, and the pool is great! I can't wait to continue my stay for the next few nights!

item went missing from room review by management left the matter unresolved. air conditioner old and very noisy leading to poor nights sleep. room not made up first day of 3 day stay. only just made up on second day after 2nd request to staff. felt locked in by having booked through online 'reservation counter' prepaid and only out was through 24 hour notice by 6 the day before.

Our hotel stay was good. The staff were very pleasant. Enjoy staying at Best Westerns when I can as I can rest assured the level of service and comfort I will receive. At this location you are able to walk to park and enjoy the beauty of the sand & beaches along Lake Nippising. The downtown and main waterfront is just a short drive away. The mattress was very comfortable. I found it quiet at night to sleep. Will return again.

There were several disappointing aspects of our stay here, but the worst was the housekeeping. When we arrived, there was a room service tray full of dirty dishes sitting directly outside our door. This was a terrible first impression. Not only was it there when we arrived, but the dirty tray remained outside our door for our ENTIRE stay here. Housekeeping was still working on the hallway we when arrived, but the tray was not cleared away. The rest of the hallway also needed some attention as there were food wrappers and other debris on the ground. Several of the clean towels in our room were visibly stained with pen marks, makeup, etc. One of my basic expectations for a hotel are clean towels and although these were clean, the stains were very off-putting and something I have never experienced at a hotel before. The design of this hotel is an issue. The lobby is quite nice featuring two stairscases heading for the second floor, but there's no elevator. The stairs aren't so nice when you're dragging all of your luggage up them. The front doors are not automatic and do not a button to assist with opening them, so again, this is an issue with arriving and departing. Rooms are a good size, but ours did not have a microwave or mini-fridge, despite there being ample space for them. We had breakfast in the restaurant. The restaurant was spacious and the decor was quite nice. The food was good, but the children's menu was a bit pricey for the portion size ($6 for 5 small pancakes). Overall, this was a very disappointing experience for a Best Western or any hotel chain for that matter. We will not be back.

Road trips for us mean BWs because of the pet factor, and we LOVE this chain for being pet-friendly. Check in was easy, the rooms were clean, and expectations are never high, so little things (loud, old-school window ac unit, vaguely weird smell in hallway) we invariably encounter at these sorts of properties do not bother us. Not a place at this time of the year for romantic walks outside - the grounds are not impressive by any stretch, and the shad flies were EVERYWHERE. It's sad that this hotel is so close to the Lake but you cannot see it, and there is no real connection. Friendly bartender and great pole at the front desk - no complaints at all.

This is an attractive, clean hotel. We arrived during shad fly season which was very interesting..millions of these tiny prehistoric flies outside the property. Room was attractive and clean. There is an Italian restaurant, Farina. within the hotel which saves the bother of driving somewhere for dinner. I did miss the complimentary Best Western breakfast because after a wonderful supper at Farina, breakfast there was a big disappointment. Eggs were tough and uninspiring; hash browns were dry/slightly overcooked or left too long before serving. The hotel has a business centre with two computers but computers and systems appeared old and I could not log on to my email.

The juccuzzi, sauna was not working during my stay. I request when will they be functional...and did not get a straight answer...they should have been honest and I would stay at another hotel! It was a bad choice on my side.

The hotel was air conditioned to a comfortable level and the food was very good. I was a guest at a wedding and everything ran smoothly with the hotel being very accommodating. There is plenty of free parking.

I enjoyed my stay - the staff were very friendly - the hotel was very clean - and well located for my needs. I had dinner in Farinas' Ristorante - and the food and service was amazing! The hotel is across the street from Lake Nipissing - the and sunsets are stunning!

The check-in process was very disappointing. The front desk person, Lise, was not only unhelpful, but lied to us, then proceeded to make a room assignment mistake that could have had security implications. We arrived shortly after 12 noon, and were informed that rooms would not be available until 3pm. We let Lise know that we were in town for a wedding at 4pm (and the wedding reception was to be held AT the BW hotel). She told us that a particular room was assigned to us, and that we had to wait until that specific room was cleaned. And she said no, the cleaning staff could not prioritize based on personal situations. We came back at 2:30 to check for rooms, this time another lady checked us in because all rooms were cleaned by then. We opened our room door to two guests already in the room (thankfully everyone was decent). We were told that Lise and our other check-in lady happened to assign the same room at the exact same time (I question how the computer system could have allowed that to happen), and were finally assigned a different room. To BW North Bay (and Lise in particular): 1. a wedding is important enough that the guests should have been prioritized in terms of getting their rooms to get ready; 2. in our subsequent inquiry, you continued to be very unhelpful - had to be reminded of who we were when we called, even though you said you were going to call when a room became available; 3. you told us that we booked a specific room (which we have never heard of before), then proceeded to give the same room to two different parties - that means you lied about us having been pre-assigned a room. This could have been a security issue as well, should it have happened to the wrong people. After we finally got settled in, the room was equipped as expected, and the bed was comfortable.

My wife and I stayed for a single night to attend a theatre event. The front desk staff and housekeeping were extremely helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our requests. When they had no pool towels at the front desk, the girl sprinted down to the laundry and back to get me one.

Clean rooms, great reception, great staff. a pleasure to be there. Thand North Bay and thanx to BW for a great stay. we shall return soon to this beautiful motel. Plz be advised that the breakfast is Not included in your stay.

Overall not a bad place with the exception that the front lobby & halls were VERY cold. The only food that was the hotels was a breakfast Sunday Morning. Again, not bad. The catered in food to our function left a LOT to be desired!

Good room, helpful staff, great restaurant ( Farina's). Could do better in a couple of areas: 1) No real glasses or china cups in room or lobby coffee ( just disposables) 2) Very surprised no handicapped/wheelchair power for front/main lobby entrance otherwise quite good.

I arrived in North Bay in the midst of a very bad snow storm. I had almost went off the high way on my way and was a little shock up. The staff was understanding and accommodating. I intended to stay just the one night and move on in the morning but the storm worsened over night. In all I spent 4 nights before the roads were clear. The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome

Amazing meal at the hotel restaurant, fresh well prepared and large portions. Wait Staff, Aline and Pam are excellent at their job and a real pleasure to have serve you. Hotel is in a good location, can walk to the lake and a nice park area.

I stayed here one night for a business trip. The hotel is old and outdated. Room was spacious and clean. Staff is not overly friendly. No breakfast is included- I am used to staying at Best Western's in Sarnia, ON or Windsor, ON and they are much much nicer than this. I likely would not return here.

Stopped here late one night on our drive through ONT. Choose the property due to its pet friendly policy. Check in was swift and friendly. Room was a little tired, but the wifi worked ok, and the lady at the front desk did her best to ensure we had quick access to the stairway for our dogs, since the first floor rooms were full. Drawbacks were no free breakfast, and no special amenities for diamond members. But location was great, and the room was clean. We know this, because the maid left one of her swifferjet dusters in our room!

We have stayed at this hotel before. Room was very comfortable and clean. We had dinner at the Italian restaurant. We ate in the bar. The bartender/waitress was extremely nice and the food was amazing. The pasta helpings were so large we had to send half of the meal back. The only problem we had was the heater and frig was very loud.

We took time to plan our reception months in advance, blocked off a bunch of rooms for our guests and reserved a suite with an attached room (months in advance) for us, two dogs and family. We checked & double checked on the status of the rooms, everything was great until we went to check in (after our photos were done, guests were seated and waiting for us to join them to have our first dance) We had a 1/2 hour window to check in and start our night with friends & family and it took us 25 minutes to check in to the rooms we reserved (month earlier) I don't know what the mix up was, our name couldn't be found in the computer, i was told someone quit that morning and the person working was new (no problem of hers, she tried her best) When we finally got our room key, it didn't work (back to the front desk we go) more searching and we were given the key to the adjoining room because we needed to drop off our overnight bags and two dogs and go be with our guests. We tried the key to that room, it worked ! But someone was already staying in that room with their belongings already unpacked. (imagine their surprise if they would have been in the room when we entered) Finally after more searching & frustration growing, we had to leave our luggage and dogs with a family member and go into the reception. We never did end up with adjoining rooms, but because of the mix up they did give us our room for free. stress free would have been better. Our meals were OK, some of the beef was just a little bit too bloody and some were sent back, the chicken was good. I was very upset that our parents two tables (the two tables that were clearly separate from everyone else) were served last. The salad was very boring with very little taste. I must admit the desert was absolutely fabulous. Everyone loved it. We ordered pizza for a 11pm snack and no one can recall having any. Someone did see 5 come out (we had ordered 11) so if you do order pizza make sure someone keeps an eye on it to see if you get what you ordered or how is mysteriously disappears ? We were very happy with the ball room we reserved, the decorations were done by us and an outside company, it all looked very pretty. it was laid out as we requested with lots of room to dance and relax. Over all experience was disappointing considering it was our special day.

We had a long drive ahead of us and booked this hotel to break the trip. Hotel was nice and clean, friendly staff. I had heard reports the hotel needed upgrading but all I could find was the bathroom vent was a little old looking. Room was nicely appointed. I would fault the hotel for no breakfast and one of the beds was a canoe. That's when it's time to change the mattress because no matter what your position starts off with you always roll to the middle. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We came to North bay for our anniversary and after lots of reviews we picked the best western. Overall we were happy with our stay but the hotel is very old and outdated. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and the restaurant served excellent food but we had very long wait times for dinner and breakfast. The bar we waited forever while the one woman working served everyone else but us. You can hear everything in your rooms, so there is no quiet time. It would have been nice to have more options on the TV as well. just a few stations we got.

I ordered room service for breakfast this morning, 20 February 2016, and the lady who answered the phone informed me "Well, it's going to be a while, I'm the only one here." Ok, fine. I'll cut her some slack. After 90 minutes with out so much as a phone call, I called that lady back and she said; "I'm so sorry, I thought of your three or four times and didn't call. Do you know what happened? We got swamped. Every table was filled." Nice. Where was the manager? Where was the front desk clerk who could have helped out? A phone call would have been nice.

We are snowmobilers and picked this hotel due to its close proximity to the trails. Rooms: Hotel itself is a good size, with only 2 floors (keep in mind that there is no elevator, so if you have mobility issues just request to have a room on the main floor). The rooms are clean and big enough to have your gear. Our room had a queen bed and a sofa bed. Since it was only 2 of us, the sofa bed and coffee table made for a nice sitting area. The rooms are renovated, however, the furnace kicking on constantly did interrupt my sleep (especially cause it was loud). Amenities: For a "basic" hotel, there are several things available in the hotel. They have a restaurant, lounge, pool, hot tub and sauna. The hot tub is small, fitting only 5 adults (and its tight) which was unfortunate after a day of snowmobiling. There is also outdoor lockup for your snowmobile, and in the summer a nice sitting area outside. Restaurant: We ate here twice - once for dinner and once for breakfast. Dinner was good. The food was tasty, and the portions were great but I did find that they used a lot of oil, too much in my opinion, on everything. Price of the meals are fair. Breakfast is your typical offerings. Lounge: We were only in here once for a couple of drinks. Its pretty big, so lots of room to hang out if you want to get out of your room. Service: No issues, we were happy with it. Nothing over the top though that stood out. Location: Great location. Had it not been so cold the weekend we were there, we would have done a lot more walking around along Lakeshore. There are lots of places to eat out within 10 minute walk.

We brought our kids to North Bay to snowmobile for the week. We started at the Clarion resort and our first night was just a horrible experience (room not ready when we checked in, unfriendly staff etc) so we looked for another place to stay and Best Western was our first option because it was close to the snowmobile trails. We were able to get a suite for our family, there is lots of parking for trucks and trailers and lock up for snowmobiles if you don't want to load them on your trailer each night. The staff was very friendly and helpful to get us settled. They had our roll away bed and crib brought up right away. We ordered breakfast from the restaurant Farina's on site and it was quick and the food was great. We ordered dinner one night as well and it was amazing. Great italian food, the steak was fantastic and the desserts were delicious. It was a treat to have such a great meal in our room and not have to drag our 2 little kids to a restaurant which is usually not an enjoyable experience for us :) Overall it was a great experience and my husband his friends are all going back in a couple weeks

To get away from the kids, we booked one night at this Best Western, NB. The clerk screwed up our check in....she gave us two key cards but the wrong room number so we were trying to get into someone else's room. When this was finally solved, she apologized and gave us a free breakfast for the next morning. The room was cozy. The TV was working and the bed and pillows were comfortable. There's not much room on the bathroom counter; not even to set down a toiletry bag. The shower had a good spray and the towels were fluffy. There's a lot of sledders that stay here in the winter; that's cool. What isn't cool is the stench of exhaust fumes that litter the hallways. Not sure if that's coming directly from the sleds of off of their coats. Most sled are 4 strokes so it's probably fumes entering the hotel from the sled parking area. Perhaps the hotel can limit this somehow. Double doors and fan?? I took a walk to view the sleds and noticed the pool. It looked old and very dated. Like mold or discoloring on the tiles, even in the pool. It would be nice if this chain could do some renovation in the near future.

My wife and new born son came with me for a work week in North Bay and we decided to stay here as it was the only hotel that had a separate room for the baby. The staff was very friendly and they helped in every way we needed; from a high chair to room service it was excellent. The poop was a little too cold for the baby but great all around. The restaurant was also Great! I highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms are a nice size, comfortable. It's odd to see a two-storey hotel without an elevator. Because we were having a conference - that took place on both floors, mobility was a challenge for me. If I was just staying at the hotel - I'd stay on the first floor for this reason. The beds are very comfortable - in fact, the best hotel sleep I've had in a while. The meals were really good. Especially the soups. I would have the hotel cater a meal anytime.

It is a great place to stay in North Bay for Business. Restaurant is fantastic and it has free WiFi so you can do work and eat. Great location Pool is nice Fitness Centre is ok - could be bigger with more equipment Staff are friendly and will take care of you Hotel room décor needs to be updated

Stay there for a work Christmas party. Good food, party, rooms. Great service at bar, front desk, restaurant. I would diffinitly stay there again for next year Christmas party. I recomend this hotel for everyone.

Nice large room, nice employees, clean et close to the beach. Nice pool and spa. The front desk lady was helpful. We stay almost overtime at this hotel. We will definitively go back to this hotel next time we go to North Bay, Ontario.

I visit North Bay for work on a fairly regular basis and the Best Western has become my hotel of choice. They offer decent facilities, clean updated rooms, free wifi (big must for me) and on site restaurant and lounge. The staff however are the main reason I keep going back, they're fantastic! Always friendly and helpful. I ate at the Fab Lounge on my last visit and was impressed. The line offers the same menu as the Farina restaurant so you can get a full Italian restaurant offering in a laid back lounge setting (nice if you're solo). Nadine was working the bar and she was great, It was only her first or second shift on her own making it more impressive. The warm bread and olives are a nice touch as well!.

After traveling for hours from Toronto to North Bay, I arrived to an absolute dump! The hotel is old dated and scary and gives a Bates motel feel. There was a power outage and no discount was added on my bill. The food was terrible and over priced and NOT authentic Italian food.DO NOT STAY HERE! The guests on the second floor were very loud and irritating. This motel doesn't offer an elevator and the parking is very scary. If traveling to North Bay stay at the Clarion - I had to learn this the hard way!

I stay here every time Im in North Bay ...the number one reason is the Restaurant Farina!! Great Italian food every time the antipasta board is a treat on its own...so i was disappointed to see it was closed ...but the good news is that its only closed for a reno and i could still have dinner but in the lounge.....cant wait to get back and see the reno the bad news is it will probably be in the dead of WINTER !!

I travelled thousands of miles in October 2015 to celebrate my niece's weddingn at the Best Western in North Bay, I have had some really nice experiences with Best Western over the years and expected thier reputation to be upheld. Not this time. The rehearsal night was a disaster. The room booked never became available and no one got to eat until after 9 pm. My sister booked a room well in advance for me and they did not have the reservation. The wedding itself and reception and party after were very well done and the food was excellent. They just didnt seem to be ready for us before 3pm the time of the wedding. When the wedding was over and the staff worked to change the room into a buffet, sit down reception, my sister had booked time in the bar but the manager didnt know anything about it. Instead the management had meant the bar set up in the reception but never communicated that to my sister or my niece. The next day my sister booked the bar, and paid in advance for this, to have brunch for both families, table and chairs were set up for 12 people not the 20 plus that would be there. some people had problems with their room keys which i guess could happen anywhere. Overall, the actual set up and admin of wedding and reception were done beautifully. Food, including the "authentic" italian cuisine in the restaurant and brunch, was exceptional. management in general was abysmal.

Stayed for one night. Room was ample size and the beds were comfortable. The café was open as the restaurant was being renovated. I had the lasagna. It was awesome! The only complaint is the cable TV. Typical reception for a hotel. Poor quality video and some channels only show the weather (snow).

I don't even think of staying anywhere else now when planning a trip to North Bay. I regularly have customers and family to see there, and have stayed at this facility 6 or 7 times now. It is clean, friendly and offers dependable quality at a reasonable price, plus the location is quite picturesque on Lakeshore within walking distance to the lake (weather permitting!)

Have stayed at this hotel several times. Always pleased with the service and quality of the facility. Particularly enjoy an a la carte breakfast as opposed to a buffet. Close to Lake Nippissing and downtown North Bay. Certainly would recommend the hotel.

The hotel was a great find. I had considered staying at another pet-friendly accommodation, but I have a black labrador and their weight limit for a pet was 25 Lbs. Best Western has always been the hotel I keep coming back to because they don't have silly restrictions. Now my labrador said that if there would have been a doggy cushion with a treat on it, that would have been over-the-top. All in all very satisfied. Human & labrador.

Wonderful wedding reception and Thanksgiving Brunch Buffet. The Ballroom looks better than the pictures. Beautifully decorated, lovely lighting and nice centrepieces. Wedding venue 8 out of 10. Food: 7 out of 10 Dessert were very good, nothing ran out, and the wine was pouring. Servers were all attentive and friendly. Brunch, the food was really good, love the omelette station and endless coffee refills. Desserts were really tasty. We walked across the street to see the beautiful Lake. Parking is very easy, and there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. Easy to find hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer, I will be going back to North Bay someday. Lots to be thankful for.

I have stayed at this hotel twice over the last few months and have found the place to be clean, quiet and comfortable. The employees are all wonderful. And I love the restaurant. The food is quite tasty. I will be staying here again next time I am in North Bay.

All aspects of the wedding were at the hotel and the main event was well planned and carried out. There were a few times when organization of staff for other events was inadequate-not enough severs, staff not informed of plans.The wedding ceremony, buffet, reception, dance was all excellent.

I stayed at this hotel on business as I was attending a workshop that was being held here. My room was by an exit and I was worried that I would hear the door to the stairwell being opened and closed all night long but the noise was very minimal which I was surprised about. The room was clean and I liked that they replenished the teabags that I used the following morning when they cleaned my room. All-in-all it was a pleasant stay.

Stayed here and truthfully what a surprise. When we pulled up the outside of the building looked old and decreptive. But honestly the inside and the staff were more than what you would expect. Thank you Best Western for delivering another fine establishment.

We stayed over the weekend of Aug 28th. The rooms where clean and the the hotel is just off highway 11. the staff was great if you stay ask for Beverly she has great customer service skills and was very knowledgeable of the area what places in north bay. The only thing that I could say is that there where a lot of bugs outside the hotel when it got dark but other than that is was a great stay. the onsite restaurants were pretty good food was ok a little pricey but still ok .. the bar was good great food lat the bar still pricey but good.when we go back we will be staying there again.

Basic room, was clean, only complimentary toiletries were a shampoo and two small bars of soap. Priced high for what you get ie basic. Front desk staff very good. Back parking lot was a bit creepy. No complimentary breakfast but coffee and tea in lobby.
