We booked this hotel because of dogs allowed. The location is perfect for transit. The have an underground parkinglot, nice staff, a nice comfortable room. A very delicious buffet dinner and a good breakfast. I would go there again!
Very pleasant. We were on roadtrip on our way to Denmark, and stayed for one night. Dinner in the hotel restaiurant was really delicious and service was excellent, also special attention to kids. Breakfast was also great, good quality and variety for different preferences in the family. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were very pleased.
After day of traveling we were happy to finally reach our hotel - how appreciative we were of the efficiency friendliness of check in staff - our room was clean n comfortable - towels white sheets crisp pillows plump - the breakfast was exceptional - wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel
In the US, many Best Western Hotels are holder and not well maintained. They are budget friendly, but not my first choice for a hotel. I was surprised to see Best Western as one of the hotels booked for our tour group. Upon arrival, I was very pleasantly surprised by the country atmosphere, the appearance of the hotel, and the excellent food that was offered. We dined here for dinner and also breakfast. Food choices were excellent and tasty too. Food was fresh and well prepared. We were able to sleep with our window open and were greeted by birdsong in the morning. Our room overlooked a garden of wildflowers and was absolutely delightful.
This hotel is in a community outside of Hamburg. It is older and quaint. It was one of our favorites during our Germany trip due to the general atmosphere. Our room was good and on the main floor which we liked. The food was very good and you have the option to eat in the garden.
Stayed at this hotel for a week for business. Room was very outdated. Is in need of a refurb. We had to swap rooms late into the first night as there was a constant noise of running water audible in the room. No apology, moved to a noise room right next to the main entrance. The smell of smokers was sickening. Upon checkout the woman at reception tried to charge us for water, nuts and sauna use....all Of which I never used. The trip was booked and paid for by my employer. I have now seen an additional payment on my bank statement. The hotel have taken full payment for the room again. This payment was not authorised and is fraudulent. I have called the hotel to resolve and no one there understands a word of English.
The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome! The buffet breakfast is great. Hotel is very convenient for businesses in the industrial park area. Park nearby that was nice to walk around and get some exercise.
Very nice hotel. Comfortable room. 5 minutes walk from where I was working - but very few other amenities within walking distance. Quiet location, in a suburban area. Breakfast good, limited vegetarian options for evening meal - but obviously demand in Germany may be low. Going back again in a couple of weeks
What can I say, its a bit hit and miss and if you are lucky you get a good room, if not you get the 3rd floor creepy rooms. Restaurant and bar okay but very very overpriced, recommend you grab a cab to drive somewhere else. Don't expect cold beers or cold drinks, just expect them to be cool and wet. No air-con and the building work is taking a long time to complete. That said, staff great and welcoming, willing to go the extra mile to help, just a shame the hotel isn't at their level yet.
First impressions last. Unfortunately for the lady who checked us in was a bit rude and didn't care about their guests. She had attitude and was not friendly with us and also other guests (could hear hear while I waited in the lobby). Also the bar staff in the evening where a bit rude and very slow. ROOM was ok. Pretty basic but clean. Breakfast choice was good. Would like to point out a older waitress at breakfast who was very nice and helpful and managed to still keep a bit of a good impression of the hotel. She should teach the others some customer service !
We arrived in the middle of the night, without a reservation and we got a beautiful big family suite with rooftop terrace and beautiful garden view. Very nice breakfast buffet, and the children were free of charge. Our best recommandations!
Didn't find out that I had to pay for a full breakfast until checkout. (13 Euro/breakfast) I had only a coffee the one morning. Very limuted breakfast options if you have Gluten/Lactose issues. Water pressure very low in shower
I stayed at this hotel for 3 night this week and for the first time. On arrival the hotel interior looks quite dated, check in staff were efficient and i was quickly allocated my room. The hotel hallways etc again were dated and it was similar when i entered the room on the second floor. I had 2 single beds (strange), a very small bathroom & shower, 2 small lounge chairs, minifridge, desk and TV. The room was small spotless clean, dated furnishings and interior, warm (no AC), single beds (strange), single duvets, massive pillows. Had dinner in the restaurant 2 of the nights which was nice food, traditional, nice restaurant staff. Had breakfast the 3 mornings, they have everything you could ask for. Cereal, fresh fruit, salad, cheese, cold meats, bacon, eggs, ssusage, breads, preserves etc and the staff were great and very efficient. The hotel has a bar area which is ideal for a meeting place in the evenings. Checkout was efficient and the room price is good value.
I think the hotel has been renovated. We had amazing cosy room, with large bed and nice modern bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and staff so nice. Wi fi was slow and had some restrictions. Hotel is far away from Hamburg and station, but I saw a lot of companies around, so I think it is some bussiness area.
This hotel has a convenient location to the company we had business meetings with, which made travel back and forth easy. Great restaurant and food was excellent. Rooms were comfortable but caution have no air conditioning.
Nice business hotel, friendly staff, bar is ok. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is very nice, vast choice. Quiet to sleep, well isolated. Check-out goes quite slow. For sure to recommend when doing business trips
This hotel is aimed at business trips and coach trips, it's a fair way out of Hamburg centre and a 20 minute bike ride (or 10 minute taxi ride) to the nearest train station, there's nothing else around the hotel of any interest. The rooms are fine, everything is clean, our mattress was somewhat tired but still just about ok. Breakfast was a fairly standard affair in an outdated dining room behind the hotel. The personal touch was nowhere to be seen, everyone was treated very much as a paying customer and nothing more. Lots of extras could build up very easily too, expensive mini bar, early check in etc... Hotel was quite expensive for what they have to offer.
Norderstedt is not blessed with hotels which is surprising as this town, just north of Hamburg, is home to a number of well known companies. The hotel is a little out of the way from restaurants and shops so I hoped the hotel would make sure that guests feel like they have no need to go anywhere else. Whilst in general it is comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly, it is let down by some features that are expected to be the norm in this day and age. Limiting the wi-fi to a set number of Mb is something I never thought I'd see in a modern hotel again, but here it is, so don't plan on spending the night in your room watching Netflix unless you've already downloaded your favourite shows! Whilst my room was comfortable and well furnished, I could imagine some people may find it old fashioned. The bathroom, however, was straight out of the 70's. A beige suite with beige tiles. Yes bathrooms like this still really exist. I could have overlooked the decor if I could lay in the bath watching Netflix. Even if the wi-fi was better, I couldn't because the plug didn't work! These kind of niggles can usually be put right if you're on holiday but when you're on a two night business trip you just want everything to work. So overall it's not a bad hotel and as I mentioned, the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good which is always a bonus on a business trip. The hotel just needs to work out who it wants to attract. Some modernisation in decor and attitude towards things such as wi-fi would make it a more attractive proposition.
Having the need of a bed arriving late, chooses to stay at this Best Western. Difficult parking. Easy check in, large clean room. Coffee facilities, LCD TV. Stable wifi. Room 114. Very nice with sitting area and very functional. Nice bathroom and everything clean. The bed however, concrete pillows and the mattress hollow as a Bird-nest. Breakfast high standard with attentive service.
I recommend BW Shmoeker-Hof in Norderstedt. it is convinient for an overnight stay prior to departure from HAM airport. I sure would come back again. Unfortunately I could not try the breakfast because I left very early in the morning.
This is a nice play to stay. Food is very good, various and tasty. Breakfast in particular. Rooms are spacious and clean. All confort needed. Good Wifi connection in the whole hotel. Staff is very pleasant. It was a perfect business trip. (Meeting rooms are also perfect)
The quality is really bed. As you have a lot of neighbour in you room that named spider and bite you can see eveyvhere in your room. And also near your pillow. And the bed is old and dirty as you see in the picture. And this room is first class room so i don't have any idea about the other room. I complaint about spider to reservation and they said, 'because of nature'. Breakfast is ok but not enough choosing. And last i said, you can choose another hotel for not to make stress...
Stayed like a year ago, just for a couple of days and I did not have a single complaint. The staff was really nice, especially the bartenders surely do have class:) I remember waiting for a beer for like 4 minutes and then one of them coming and apologizing for unacceptable waiting time and giving me the beer on the house... Really nice. I would recommend this hotel to anybody anytime.
Convenient for Hamburg but outside. Quiet and well hidden but my SatNav found it. Restaurant facilities tip-top and was able to eat outside in the hot weather. Approach to it is unimpressive and parking is a bit informal. Typical BW in value for money
A very nice moderately priced hotel 25 minutes drive from Hamburg international airport. This is a 2 storey chalet style building around 50 years old set in nice grounds , rooms are just okay quite basic but clean. There is a restraunt across the small court yard at the back of the hotel which has a decent evening menu and a small snug bar which has a few draft lager beers on tap. I had dinner there and can recommend the lamb fillet, this venue also serves breakfast in the morning which has continental and cooked meals to order.
German hotel quality blended with good Best Western policies and specifications. Selected only because the hotel is near the company to be visited. The hotel building has taken its shape over time, making it an adventure to reach your room.
I was part of a group that stayed at this hotel for a week-long business meeting/conference. The rooms are dated and generally low quality, comparable to a typical US motel. Upon check-in, I was informed there were no non-smoking rooms available. The smoking room I got smelled very bad. There is wi-fi throughout the hotel, but it can be accessed only with a user name and password given out at the reception. One guest is allowed to connect no more than two devices. In response to my argument that I would like to connect a phone, a tablet and a laptop, the receptionist expressed genuine surprise and disbelief and said "Noooo!" There are two receptionists in this hotel, who take turns. Both completely lack customer orientation and weren't particularly well versed in any other language than German. However, it was the kitchen manager Khaled that left the worst impression. He repeatedly try to chase us out of meeting rooms/restaurant/bar area whenever he saw fit, interrupting meetings and conversations and paying no attention to the fact that we were having a week-long conference at the hotel and we were all staying in it the entire time. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. It was a mistake on our side to book a stay/conference at this hotel, and it will surely not be repeated again.
