"Good location"
TrevorH942, 07 Décembre 2019

Stayed for 2 nights, hotel is on the square of La Brèche which has plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, the rooms are good with very large bathrooms with walk-in shower, the hotel itself doesn't really have much facilities but with all the bars etc nearby it doesn't matter much

"Beautifully renovated"
Hugzandtugz, 27 Octobre 2018

Very well renovated. My room had the toilet outside the main bathroom which was a little inconvenient but otherwise very nice and clean. The room comes with coffee and cookies, and mints every morning

"Quiet and convenient"
Merribel, 23 Mai 2018

We were most comfortable and our spacious room overlooked the park. The staff were most obliging and breakfast buffet the usual fare. WiFi worked well and the location near the city centre was excellent. Great Value.

"On the road"
Hmk1983, 02 Septembre 2017

Got a very nice room (booked Superior, but I think we were upgraded) Nice staff. There is no free parking as Hotels.com is stating in the booking choices, but there is a big garage next to the hotel and it has cheap rates. Not impressed by the breakfast at this hotel, the standard should be higher and glutenfree options should be a choice. It is only this hotel + 1 more that has 24/7 check-in in this little city. Didn't see much of it...so can't say much, obviously it's suppose to be the 4th biggest finance city in France...

"Great location and staff"
545SarahH, 03 Août 2017

Stayed here for two nights. Great central location close walking distance to shops, historical sights, square and bars / restaurants. Room very clean. Staff excellent and helpful - Alain Raymond at reception was attentive, polite, spoke good English and made us very welcome.

"Clean, standard, the 4x of Niort"
Fabien_Guim, 25 Décembre 2016

People at gentle, the room is very clean, modern and the hotel is very well located, close from the historic center. Price is very reasonable, even if rooms are a bit noisy. The shower is wide. Very useful and business oriented you don't go there for typicity or romantism. It is the best starred hotel of Niort, and the team is very welcoming

"Not the best"
Mike C, 14 Septembre 2016

The most decent thing I can say about this hotel is the location. All else falls below the expected level, for the price paid. Advertised was tea and coffee in the room; no tea. Fixed by a phone call to reception. Tea in the morning, pre breackfast for the lady; no handle on the cup, broken off. Fixed by phone call to reception. Other, minor oddities. Fixed, you guessed it; phone call to reception. No real dramas but someone needs to have a word with housekeeping. Apart from these, maybe 'one offs', all else seemed ok, just.

"A Four-Star BW Hotel? Horrid experience."
writer48, 15 Mai 2016

When we travel and find ourselves absolutely exhausted at the end of the day, we seek out a hotel brand we have come to trust. It needs to be clean, quiet, have comfortable bedding, and provide some reasonable level of service. In older cities (like Niort) with older properties, we expect to find some quirky features, but that often adds to the charm. This place, though, is a disaster that deserves neither the number of stars (4) nor the Best Western name. Its location is wonderful: Central to the dining and commercial district; adjacent to a large lovely park; underground municipal parking nearby. The lobby is small and one person serves as receptionist, reservation clerk, bell person if needed, and bartender/server for the adjacent lounge. I parked the car as my wife dealt with the check-in. She was given a key to room 206, a “Preference” room according to our confirmation, and directed to the elevator. That room was occupied however, and my wife returned to the lobby. The young lady went back to 206 to verify this, then gave my wife a key to 106. It was a dusty, musty, room with a divided bath; toilet in a small closet near the entry door and a sink and shower in another room on the far side of the bed. There was one bath towel and one hand towel provided for this “double” room. The room was stuffy and we turned on the AC but nothing happened; the heat didn't work either. The room lighting was dim and the carpet needed a good cleaning; the windows needed scrubbing. We returned to the lobby but there was no one there. Apparently she also has duties in the rear of the hotel and we could not locate her. There were some school-aged children in the lounge area, but no one else. We went to dinner and returned, hoping to speak to someone in the lobby, but again it was vacant. We heard some voices coming from another room, probably the kitchen, but still couldn't find anyone. We would have liked to have operating AC and another set of towels, at least. Finally, we just retreated to our room, went to bed (the bedding was fine), and resolved to leave early the next day, which we did. Best Western should take a much closer look at this property and either enforce its standards or cut the cord with the franchisee. This is an embarrassment to the brand.

"Hotel de la breche, Niort, France"
platpeeps, 02 Mai 2016

Stayed here one night as part of a business trip to the area. I had to queue a bit to get checked in, but it wasn't for very long, so it wasn't a big deal. An enjoyable stay (this is an excellent business hotel), and it is well located, although a bit quirky. Parking was easy (underground), in the main square. Would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area again. Comfortable room, and the bathroom was very good.

"Great hotel!"
632BLT, 21 Mars 2016

Stayed at this hotel whilst travelling through France to Spain. Lovely location overlooking a large grassed public area although our room was on 2nd floor directly opposite the bus route and road therefore you could hear traffic noise and people chatting at the bus stop at 7am!! Very nice modern clean hotel with perfectly appointed room and lovely bathroom. There are plenty of bars, cafes and shops within a few hundred yards where you can get breakfast. Only spent 1 night here but could have stayed longer. Would def return and would ask for a higher floor!

"andor says: comfortable and centrally located."
andorsworld, 06 Janvier 2016

We had no reservation as we were trying to put as many miles as possible towards our final destination. The night attendant was very cortious and was able to accomodate us for the evening at very reasonable prices. The property is just average and the rooms are ultra small (the very large in comparison to the overall room size). Also, the toilet was in the opposite corner of the bathroom sink and shower which in my opinion is very anti hygienic. Last, the only parking is a public lot, which is not suitable to comfort. All and all, it was a good one night stand! :)

"Nice"
TMH1_12, 17 Décembre 2015

Spent two nights here in a family suite. Nice decor, very large comfy bed and lovely single bed for child. Very spacious room. The glass door on the bathroom not very practical or private but bathroom and separate toilet spacious and very clean. When I booked I thought I'd read dressing gown and slippers provided but there were none. When I asked reception I was told that was only if full price was paid for the room (wasn't aware I'd got the room at special offer price) but the receptionist kindly supplied them. Unfortunately the dressing gowns had seen better days and were faded and hard so didn't use them. We had breakfast at the hotel for convenience although it was a little overpriced fir what it was and on the second morning we had to wait while a member of staff went out to purchase more milk and bread... Overall a comfy, calm, clean hotel, helpful staff and in the lovely town of Niort.

"Nice hotel"
SilviuCostin, 19 Octobre 2015

We stayed for 6 nights in this hotel. The rooms are cosy and spacious, could use a better space for luggage. Internet works very good, the location is great - in the city center around major streets of old town and around restaurants. Staff is nice and helpful. The breakfast is embarrassing, it does not worth a dime (same classic poor selection of bread and cold cheeses, with 11,50 EUR you could try outside a new location every day.

"Great Location"
Jean D, 25 Septembre 2015

Stayed for two nights, good location near restaurants. Clean room, comfortable beds and pillows. Buffet breakfast was good. It had a great selection of food. This was an organized cycling trip and the hotel provided a secure area for the bikes.

"Third time here for a short stay"
Markrg1, 15 Septembre 2015

I'll be brief. We were once again given access to park our motorcycles securely in the loading bay. The location is ideal, the staff helpful, everything clean and well equipped, the wifi worked at all times and breakfast very good. The large grass square is great for a walk and the local area has plenty of shops and restaurants. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

"Short stay, hotel was good"
nadhemjf, 31 Août 2015

It was a very short overnight stay. The hotel is nice and value for money. The location is great, very central. We didn't try breakfast but it didn't look great honestly! The city is not pretty and hence we didn't do much the day after our stay, we decided I move out of Niort.

"Super clean and convenient"
Julie S, 10 Août 2015

Just across the road from a whole street of enticing looking cafes and restaurants, the hotel is in a prime position for the town centre Our rooms were extremely clean and comfortable - one with a bath, one with a shower. I won the coin flip and took the shower. The bar was empty when we returned after dinner but someone came and made us coffee. Pleasant, helpful staff made this a troble-free stay.

"Ideal central location"
Ceejay C, 15 Juin 2015

Very friendly welcome to this hotel - parking is in nearby underground carpark with reduced rate. Lovely spacious room that was immaculately clean and well supplied. Great central location to have a walk to investigate the town centre and close to restaurants and bars - highly recommended,

"Great location"
nigel_smith61, 05 Juin 2015

This is a good hotel in an ideal location in a wonderful town. I would stay there again but it only gets 4 out of 5 because I think the rooms are expensive for their size. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you would expect but they are tiny. On the plus side parking is easy safe and secure just over the road. It is a short walk to the shops, bars and river. Breakfast was excellent, albeit pricey.

"Pleasant stay"
Sam T, 02 Juin 2015

Stayed in Hotel de la Breche one night during a business trip. The overall experience was good. First of all I would like to highlight the warm welcome of the staff & management, this is something becoming very rare, and therefore very enjoyable ! Otherwise the hotel is fine and location is great with restaurant & parkings at hand. I did not have the chance to try the restaurant/breakfast. Recommanded

"Like a premier inn in the uk"
GeeMacD, 15 Mai 2015

Probably the best hotel in Niort, unfortunately this is not saying a lot. However, the hotel room is clean and functional if just a bit small. I would say it's just like a premier inn. The girl in reception is lovely and very welcoming. No offer of dinner so you have to go out. The good news is this is the hotels best feature, it's right in the centre of the town square and surrounded by restaurants. You honestly couldn't pick a better location. Oh and parking overnight is only €3, great value. Book it just don't expect the hotel to blow you away but the location will.
