"Best Western Heath Court Hotel"
PrestonGuild, 28 Mars 2024

Newmarket is a very horsey town. Best Western Heath Court Hotel is a strong and stable choice. It very much has an equine theme. We wanted to explore Newmarket and Cambridge. The BW is a good location, You can easily walk down the town centre. We could quickly get to the motorway and reach Cambridge. We had got a superior room. We found that to be better than expected, it was a larger room than anticipated. A double bed, a sofa and chairs. There was a fancy coffee machine, biscuits, bottles of water. Nice large television. There was a small refrigerator, premium bathroom products. There was a bath/shower combo. We had breakfast included and it was a nice spread in the morning. I had fried eggs and hash browns. My wife has eggs benedict. They had croissants, cereal boxes. The coffee was good. We found that the breakfast room was never that busy. The staff were friendly. We usually found no issues with parking, although one evening the car park was full in the evening due to a Christmas event.

"Great hotel and location in town centre of Newmarket"
grantroy, 06 Mars 2024

Hospitality, service excellent with a smile from all members of staff. Very enjoyable breakfast served pipng hot. Room was a premium room with excellent facilities. The only gripe was access to the room. From the corridor there was a raised step a dthen down again into corridor to room. Which was a struggle with the wife's scooter entering and exiting to main corridor. Especially when requested on making booking 4 weeks prior on phone. Would have given this hotel 5 stars if there if we didn't have this obstacle to enter/exit room.

"Perfect Hotel to stay with your dogs"
JHB28, 21 Février 2024

Great location close to the Heath. Excellent customer service for us and our dogs. The hotel was clean, the bed so comfortable, and the full English breakfast perfect. If you are looking for somewhere to stay where you are made to feel at ease and dogs are welcomed, this hotel is definitely the place to stay.

"Worthy of 4 stars"
balbithan, 20 Février 2024

Great location right in town but still secluded enough to have a peaceful nights sleep. Room was huge with separate seating area and a large screen TV. The bathroom was very well equipped with everything you could need for an overnight stay. Because the room was large it took a while to heat up on a not too cold winters day. Breakfast was cooked to order and was tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. Impressed with this hotel. It is worthy of four stars in my opinion.

"Comfortable Stay with Dogs"
Exploration465580, 19 Février 2024

We chose this hotel because of it's close proximity to Cambridge where we were visiting family, and the fact that it was dog friendly. This is the first time we have tried an overnight stay in a hotel with our two dogs as we usually book holiday cottages. The staff were welcoming and friendly when checking in which was quick and easy as you can do most of it on line in advance. We stayed in a standard double room on the first floor. The room was big enough and the bathroom was spacious. We had an outside window which was nice as I see some of the rooms have an internal window looking into a corridor. It was warm, clean and the bed was comfortable, with a nice big TV on the wall, Just Freeview channels, no catch-up or Netflix etc. The weather when we stayed was apalling with torrential heavy rain which was a shame as it is very close to the gallops which would have been lovely to walk the dogs on(only allowed at certain times) The only downside travelling with dogs is the hotel does not have any grass to nip out for a quick pee, although there is gravel and a poo bin within the grounds, Grass just outside the entrance. Dogs are allowed in the bar area for breakfast and lunch/dinner which is nice. There is also a stand with large umbrellas for guest use which I was very grateful for. It is easy to walk into town for shops/pubs/supermarket All in all I would definitely stay again and would recommend. I'm sure it gets a bit noisier when the races are on but that could be why you want to stay anyway,

"Brilliant!"
Miki S, 17 Février 2024

Very friendly staffs and brilliant breakfast. Thank you Sarah, Lydia for their fantastic customer service and also delicious breakfast made by Chef Hon! My son enjoyed the Chef's special popcorn too! Our dog Jasper enjoyed his holiday as well. Amazing!!

"Exceptional value for money"
nanapie49, 04 Février 2024

We were blown away by the value of our stay in this hotel. Our room was large, clean, warm with a comfortable bed with quality bedding. Check in was so quick, friendly & efficient & this was matched at checkout. The breakfast was incredible, I was expecting a buffet, but no it was a full waitress service with a great choice all freshly cooked. The staff were efficient & friendly. We will definitely use this hotel again as we will be spending more time in Newmarket over the coming year.

"Lovely Stay"
JerseyCl, 29 Janvier 2024

The hotel is in a great central location. We stayed in a lovely superior room which was spotlessly clean and huge. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. For us made the stay was the lovely friendly super helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.

"Short, but nice stay. Would return if in the area."
Dottie H, 10 Janvier 2024

Conveniently located just off the main road in Newmarket. Plenty of free on-site parking. Our room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed and linens. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Quiet property, didn't hear any noise from adjacent rooms or hallway. The horse track can be viewed from the rooms and hallway. It was great getting to see the horses exercising in the mornings. Within walking distance to the main road in Newmarket with plenty of shopping, restaurants and coffee shops. For an added security feature, the front door is locked after a certain hour, so you have to ring the bell for the night clerk to let you in. Quiet and peaceful town, we felt secure walking in the evenings.

"Great location. Rooms needs bit of investment."
customerservice8, 14 Décembre 2023

Cannot fault location. Very expensive for a hotel that desperately needs some tlc as far as the rooms are concerned. Beware of the marquee! If it's windy and your room is nearby, you may be in for a sleepless night.

"3 star stay at 3 star Hotel."
Exmoortraveller67, 20 Août 2023

Very dated rooms dark with weird lighting. Interior room with window onto corridor that was shut off so no fresh air on a hot night. Buzzing Airton that worked well but dripped water onto floor. Bed was very comfy though and Sarah and staff were great but did everything from checkin to waitressing to bartender with a great attitude. Great location. For a 3 star was what expected.

"Superb location, breakfast, views of the gallops and overall value for money. Would definitely stay again."
BecsKL, 14 Août 2023

Location to the high street in Newmarket was excellent. We walked round the corner before breakfast to see all the racehorses training, and we could also see this from our bedroom window, absolutely amazing. Breakfast was the best, and the staff were all very polite and helpful. Would 100% stay again. Thank you Heath Court Newmarket for a fabulous mini break.

"Ideal location for central Newmarket"
Pauline N, 06 Août 2023

Walking distance to the high street and all that offers. Ideal for picking up courtesy bus for the racecourse. Good breakfast and adequate amenities. Plenty of parking spaces which is a bonus in any town.

"Best Hotel Ever"
Diane L, 04 Août 2023

A very friendly and welcoming hotel. Nothing is ever too much of a problem. If they don't know the answer they will do their upmost to find the solution for you. Would happily return to this hotel again and again.

"NEXT DOOR TO HEATH HOUSE STABLE........WHAT A TREAT !!! "
elizabeth m, 27 Juillet 2023

A very nice 2 night stay indeed. Woken by the sound of hooves, FANTASTIC, (NOT BEING SARCASTIC !!) The room clean, the bed & pillows very comfortable. Shower, not good at all. Needs upgrading. My Husband said the standard of Full English Breakfast was exceptional, through out our stay. On the first morning I ordered Tomatoes & Fried Bread. I got just 1 tomato cut in half, with 1 slice of Fried Bread. The next morning I asked for 4 halves of Tomato. This duly arrived with a pointed remark of " LOADS OF TOMATOES & Fried Bread". Still just one slice of fried bread. £14 for a 2 Tomatoes & 1 slice of Fried Bread, no matter how excellent ( and it was) it was cooked, was taking the proverbial. I understand there was a very varied selection for the £14 , but I was NOT impressed by the remark. Are Tomatoes VERY expensive in Newmarket??

"Amazing"
LizzieWheel, 20 Juillet 2023

Visited this hotel many times and did not disappoint. The lady on reception was so lovely. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but she let us use the restroom to get ready for the races and allowed us to leave our cases in reception. Room was lovely and spacious and clean. Breakfast was amazing. We will be back very soon. Thank your once again for a wonderful stay

"Bumped down to budget room"
Graham H, 12 Juillet 2023

We were bumped down to a budget room as it is "July Cup Weekend" we booked 6 months ago. We could upgrade to a family room at double the cost!1 This is our last stay here. Premier Inn is better value.

"Wonderful experience"
Jai K, 05 Juillet 2023

Extremely polite and helpful staff, the hotel has good ambience is very close to the town Centre. Rooms are Air conditioned which is a bonus in summer. Very pleasant stay. Will return. Reasonable parking space is available.

"Very overpriced stay, shower not working and no breakfast included"
Bloodybaron67, 02 Juillet 2023

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Our room was fine apart from the shower which we could not use because the water was scolding hot. We reported this to front desk but not much sympathy was offered. We paid £260.00 for one night and breakfast was not included also, when I went back on the booking sight the rooms were £95 so I felt we had a very bad experience for the overinflated price we paid.

"Large room"
John H, 31 Mai 2023

Welcoming staff on reception. We stay at many Best Western hotels and enjoy the perks of the reward scheme, here getting an automatic room upgrade, thank you. Room was huge, good facilities. Convenient central location.

"Well worth booking"
alanpK348CH, 27 Janvier 2023

Enormous room, Very comfy bed, Lovely clean en-suite with very good shower Excellent lounge & bar area. Good breakfast, Staff very pleasant,we enjoyed our break at this hotel & would definitely book again without doubt. The only criticism, we were on the first floor & the corridor between the lift & our room is very cold, apart from that , absolutely nothing,

"Great dog friendly hotel"
Quest528855, 26 Janvier 2023

Excellent dog friendly hotel, room lovely and clean, hotel staff brilliant would recommend also have a vegan menu which we were delighted with. Great location and really handy for the centre of town..

"A perfect Christmas stay"
crystalroseaddison, 19 Décembre 2022

We upgraded to a twin room for our stay and it was spacious, comfy and warm. Outside was freezing cold (-2), so it was much appreciated. The staff (I've forgotten the name) at breakfast were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Cheryl on reception is amazingly helpful & accommodating. 5 stars!

"Best Western Heath Court, Newmarket"
beverleycoult, 22 Novembre 2022

I always stay at this hotel if available, not only is it located very close to the high street but for we horse lovers, if you're lucky you can even see the Newmarket gallops from your room! They are all of 200 yards from the hotel. The staff are always helpful, the rooms a good size and, heaven, every room I've ever had has a BATH as well as a shower. Highly recommended.

"Needs modernisation. Gloomy. Good location"
Andy S, 21 Octobre 2022

A basic hotel. Friendly staff and monumental full English breakfast. Great. However it badly needs modernisation. In corridor and lift I noticed that everything is brown! My room on 2nd floor had no outside window - just a window onto a corridor which had an outside window. So dark and a lack of good electric lighting in the room too. Gloomy. Shower and bathroom was nice. Also has EV charging facilities which is good to see and at no charge. Good location though for Newmarket town and the horse racing world if that is your thing. Overall a dull, slightly depressing hotel. Maybe worth it if you can get it at a steal.

"Serious modernisation required"
lcoulson07, 21 Octobre 2022

Rooms far too hot, air condition rattled all night, room felt like a prison cell than a hotel window onto a hallway/ corridor so people can see in. possible the worst night sleep I've ever experienced. I travel a lot for work and would say this has to be the worst place I've stayed. id rate this at a generous as a 2 star hotel

"Newmarket visit"
pashcr0ft, 03 Octobre 2022

Excellent weekend with the family the only problem was the restaurant was closed on Friday night so had to go out for dinner Staff were very helpful food was excellent rooms were very clean and comfortable

"Great for horse racing fans"
Mike D, 21 Août 2022

We stayed one night for a recent Discover Newmarket trip to see the mighty Frankel. We had the July suite which was huge and very comfortable. So close to town easily walkable for dinner & drinks. You could not be any closer to the gallops just a minute walk to watch the horses train in the early morning. Breakfast was ok but certainly not the best we have had. There are lots of racing memorabilia in the hotel as the owner is also the owner of Desert Crown, this year's Derby winner. The staff were very friendly. Would stay again.

"Just brilliant, 10/10"
schtumuk, 21 Août 2022

Stayed at Heath Court Hotel and was bowled away by the devotion of all the staff, but my sincere thanks must go to Cheryl. Contacted the hotel prior to arrival to enquire about electric vehicle charging points. Almost instant reply, not from an automated bot or faceless contact centre but the hotel itself. They don't charge for charging and they even reserved the bay for me. How brilliant is that. We had a complimentary room upgrade when they found out it was our anniversary. The room was huge and had all we could want and more. Great nights sleep then the next morning a fantastic full English breakfast with much of the plate locally sourced products. Would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Cheryl for going above and beyond. Brilliant customer service.

"Business Trip"
Strath B, 11 Août 2022

Room was clean and air con was a great addition especially this week. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. There are vehicle electric charge points outside also. Room had a window onto corridor and petrol station at back so quite dark inside however it was single basic room at £70 per night. Breakfast was plentiful should you require that also. Ideally located for the town and restaurants etc.

"Not bad for price"
J4Tux, 01 Août 2022

The staff were great, both at checkin and throughout the stay. Great choice at breakfast. The downsides were the musty smell in the hallway and room and in addition it was noisy when other guests in other rooms were using their showers. Over all, not bad for the price.

"Wedding reception and stay"
Paul W, 30 Juillet 2022

Absolutely amazing and friendly team and once through the doors a very warm welcome awaits . Sarah helped plan our day and made it so easy with nothing too much trouble or a problem. Outside of the building does not do the inside justice of decor and furnishings 10/10 . Many thanks

"Disgusting Treatment! 2nd Fire Alarm in early hours!"
jopalmer2013, 29 Juillet 2022

Yet again, this our 2nd time of about 6 stays at this hotel and yet again the Fire Alarm went off at 2.10am and had to evacuate the Building in our Pj's!!! Not happy and had terrible trouble getting back to sleep and had a terrible Headache all morning. Spoke to the Receptionist Cheryl who couldn't really be bothered. She did apologise but it takes the joy away when you get shaken out of your sleep like that and only 4 people came down to Evacuate! Should have been lots more people come down. The first time this happened to us last July, there were about 30 people with babies and toddlers too had to come out, again in our PJ's. Having paid for our Rooms and Breakfasts on Check-in, so all prepaid, I was waiting for Cheryl to do something by way of Compensation but didn't offer anything off our Room. But I have Two lunches and 4 glasses of wine from the Bar going onto my room 46 so I'm hoping Management will do something and take something off our bill or completely wipe them off.

"Huge room"
vicky269, 13 Juillet 2022

Free car charger, great breakfast and lovely glimpses of the race horses having exercise. The room was much larger than I expected and very comfortable- several chairs, thick curtains and a good size bathroom. We had a noisy party in the next room but the staff did address this.

"A brief overnight stay with 2 small dogs in their Show Trolley"
Shirkeira, 13 Juin 2022

I had to attend a Dog show in Ely with my two small show dogs, the hotel was sited in the very good place for the show near Ely. The quality of the hotel was very good and access was easy with a dog trolley, although my trolley is small and easy to maneuver. The room was very good and had plenty of room for a single room. The facilities were very good and the staff very helpful.

"Expected disappointment"
matthewhS6040EA, 23 Avril 2022

Buyer beware as they say. Knew the cheap price was a risk. Uncomfortable (and small!) double bed didn't really sleep and felt cramped. Only got one cup one towel etc in the room. Had to ask for another towel as got given a bath mat instead. Staff were incredibly rude when I had the nerve to ask again for an actual towel. Turned the lights on in the room and the switch came off the wall in my hand. The reception staff had a limited understanding of basic conversation. Parking is a bit sketchy. Never been in a hotel where the window is between the room and the public hallway. Very odd. Oh and the kettle takes about 12 minutes to boil which feels like a lifetime after such a bad nights sleep. Nice view over the petrol station. Shower is good though. Would recommend this place for a stag party or similar.

"Just right"
JaneN230, 18 Avril 2022

Super friendly team for whom nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious - great choice & well presented. Lovely breakfast. Rooms very spacious. Great location. Easy check in/out. Parking no problem

"Best Western Newmarket"
dbn005, 17 Avril 2022

Superior king room was very large and well decorated. Very clean. Great friendly staff. TV had no reception. Excellent breakfast and lamb shank dinner. We had 4 bicycles and the staff let us put them inside in an unused conference room. Would definitely stay again if in Newmarket

"Superb afternoon tea"
701SandraC, 28 Mars 2022

We had an excellent afternoon tea which exceeded our expectations. Everything was really fresh and tasty, so may different cakes. Service was fabulous and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

"Pet friendly, a gem"
FuzzyFinches, 27 Mars 2022

Stayed a couple of nights with our two small dogs, this hotel is a hidden gem. Reception and bar staff very friendly yet professional. Alcove area set aside for pet owners to eat in the bar area. Room very clean and spacious. Our room overlooked stables next door but not disturbed by any noise from them. Also love how room didn't open directly onto long corridor but in a cluster of 3 rooms so didn't have everyone walking past the door. Hotel exceeded our expectations and will definitely stay here again.

"Reliably excellent every stay"
Q6768LUarthurm, 19 Mars 2022

I travel every week for work and I have to say this is my favourite hotel. Always feel at home here and treated very well. Both as a Diamond select member (and regular) AND before; get upgraded frequently. Emma on reception is really helpful, friendly and knows me by name. All the beds are comfortable (Not too hard, not too soft). The food is good and can get a meal and a drink within my £25 a night budget. There is a type 2 and 3 pin car charging spot, usually available.

"Spectacular staff"
M6282YBamyp, 15 Mars 2022

From the day Emma showed us around the hotel till the day all the staff were amazing. Emma replied to every neurotic email. Cheryl took me to inspect every detail a few days before. Kristian made my girls feel like vip princesses Amy and Kristian were so bubbly and fun behind the bar. Sarah looked after everything after the wedding. I could go on and on. Every member of staff was great. No ask was to big. My whole family including myself thought I would be a perfectionist Bridezilla but having Emma from start to finish I knew it was all in hand. She knew how I wanted things before I did and I was probably the calmest bride I have ever known. So thank you all. Cant wait to come back for a carvery. We can't thank you guys enough. Mr and Mrs D'Arcy

"One of the best hotel:-)"
Nikolai2602, 14 Mars 2022

Exceptional service great hotel and staff are amazing always willing to help from the smallest issue such and losing room card to even trying to sort us a good meal for the night to what, I'd recommend this best Western over all and not because we stay there alot , it's by far one of the best of all hotels in the UK and a great well done and thank you to Robert for managing the hotel the way he does and having a great team of people, also if you love dogs there's 2 wonderful dogs that work aside Robert and are lovely always welcoming and love belly rubs puts a smile and make the stay so much better, a big thank you to all the team!

"Fantastic Wedding Celebration"
Lainey202, 06 Mars 2022

Attended sister's wedding celebration in the Guineas Suite. Room perfect for the occasion and looked stunning. Staff were excellent- nothing too much trouble and everything ran like clockwork. Many guests stayed for a couple of nights and were full of praise for the hotel, the food and the style and comfort of their bedrooms. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel - either for a function and/or overnight stay. Thank you Emma and team, you made it an incredibly special event.

"Stay at the Best Western in Newmarket"
John H, 28 Janvier 2022

Very acceptable one nights stay in Newmarket with a comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Room was acceptable but was in need of a facelift. Felt a little old-fashioned. Staff were very friendly and efficient, especially at breakfast.

"Beautiful place to stay!"
alanaddison21, 21 Décembre 2021

A lovely Hotel close to everything you need. Clean, tidy with very good staff all round. Parking is plenty & free with stay & the food is of a good standard. Thank you! We always take our dog & all is good with the hotel. I would recommend to anyone wishing to visit.

"Lovely room very nice staff"
Pamela A, 12 Décembre 2021

Lovely room and clean . ( pet friendly) room was quiet . Breakfast was beautiful all freshly cooked to order couldnt do enough for us . Gaynor the waitress very friendly nothing was too much trouble..endless juices and cereals ..lovely selection to choose from . A*

"Relaxing few days stay!"
Thomas H, 09 Décembre 2021

Overall my stay at the best western was very easy and relaxing and would recommend to anyone staying at Newmarket as brilliant location and staff. Only thing I'd say a few things maybe outdated now such as old radio which wasn't working and curtain covers which I call dust collectors.

"Pleasant stay"
MICK0950, 17 Novembre 2021

We enjoyed the location and the friendly, helpful Reception staff. Our room was perfectly adequate although we were rather unusually emailed about paying to upgrade. Although house keeping did not enter the room during our three night stay, anything we needed was provided by Reception. Breakfast was very quiet as we understood there was an early morning rush and therefore avoided it. Unusually, there was no fresh bread or rolls to pick up on the buffet, although the kitchen provided toast and butter. The hot meal was your selection of Full English items, so aa more restrictive choice than many hotels. It was, however, pleasant and filling. Of venues that we have visited since restrictions were lifted, this was probably the one that took covid precautions most seriously.

"Excellent facilities and staff in a Prime location"
StuGrimes, 14 Novembre 2021

Heath Court ticked every box for me. The room, although a budget single, was excellent and comfortable with plenty of room and excellent facilities vis a vis comfortable bed, excellent shower, plenty of storage space including a safe and a large smart TV. The only minor hiccups I had were the automatic air conditioning (with remote control for personal use) and which was quickly resolved with an explanation of its use by the staff, and a weak signal on a freeview channel which prevented me from watching a programme I wanted to see. That said, these were such minor issues they are barely worth mentioning and I never rate a hotel at 10. Heath Court was in my experience a strong 9 with excellent, and I mean excellent, food and accommodating and friendly staff. I have already booked a return visit because it was simply the best value for money accommodation I have found in Newmarket. Enough said.

"Great Hotel, rubbish mattress!"
william200200, 21 Octobre 2021

Visited just for one night, had a double room which was adequate size, bathroom was huge and everything was very clean and tidy. However, the most important part of any hotel is the bed, and this bed was awful. The mattress wasn't flat! You could feel at least 3 undulations where the springs had collapsed and I ended up sleeping on a peak! The duvet was very thin, I had to sleep with the heating on as I couldn't find any additional bedding in the room. Lastly, when I opened the curtains to let in the light and see the view, all I had was thick, white netting in between panes of glass which I couldn't get to, so I had no chance of having a little look out, felt rather claustrophobic. Anyway, other than that, good location, lovely and clean, just need to invest in a new mattress for this room. (Details fed back to reception.)

"superb stay for 2 nightd"
X5848STbrianw, 03 Octobre 2021

easy to find and a very large car park in the centre of Newmarket. i had a small double which is by description relative small. you could walk around the bed thou. the bathroom was spacious. we ate breakfast for both nights we stayed and was very large and tasty with top ingredients. reading other reports of poor decorations i did not see this. the bar staff were superb and a credit to their profession as were the waiters at breakfast. overall all every one of the staff we met were friendly and professional. thank you all.

"Newmarket stay"
John R, 28 Septembre 2021

On arrival we were greeted by reception with a smile. We had travelled for a family get together from various parts of the uk. We had a carvery dinner which was excellent and the staff looking after us did a fantastic job. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and had everything we required. On day 2 again I found the staff at breakfast and the bar in the evening very pleasant and attentive to our needs. The staff on our trip receive the highest accolade for thier warm friendly service.10/10.

"In need of a re-fresh - price hiked due to Newmarket race meet"
Andy S, 26 Septembre 2021

Very tired hotel - massive lift on the room price due to racing at Newmarket, such a shame that the hotel doesn't match a premium price. Room was clean, but well over due a deep clean and lick of paint, not with standing COVID would say this hotel has been over due a refresh for some years. One or two of our group forgot to put a face mask on when walking from the bar to leave the hotel, the bar is next to the main door. A gentleman wearing shorts and t-shirt got quite aggressive in pointing this out. Turns out this gentleman worked in the hotel, I think he was the manager, although you could not tell due to his attire and lack of name badge...

"Weekend Stay"
sarahmaltby8, 21 Septembre 2021

We visited for the stables open weekend but I am sadly having to write a disappointing report about our stay at this hotel, which I have never had to do before. The room was small and gloomy. Wallpaper was peeling off and missing on parts of the wall. Plaster was visible where lights had previously been attached to the wall. On our first breakfast no yoghurts were available as they had all gone. These maybe minor complaints but for the money that we paid we did not expect this kind of standard. On the Friday and Saturday evening from 5pm until 10.30pm on each evening we experienced a very loud intermittent machine noise coming from a cupboard in the bathroom. This was very loud and annoying at times. This was reported straight away to the duty manager. Whilst apologies were offered we had to put up with this. We were advised it was being looked into as we checked out. On a positive note the staff were very friendly.

"Great stay"
johnwales2021, 21 Septembre 2021

Excellent stay & staff always willing to help to ensure your stay is perfect. Location is great as well, just at the bottom of the gallops were you go and watch the horse's ride out for their morning run. Stay here every year for a couple of days. Won't stay anywhere else in Newmarket.

"Kay"
kaytp93, 20 Septembre 2021

Perfect location for a day at the races or shopping in the town centre on the doorstep.Hotel great & all the staff very helpful & friendly. Will definitely visit again .we have stayed several times already.

"Weekend stay"
carrog221, 08 Août 2021

Friendly staff, couldn't be more helpful. Nice breakfast, hot & value for money. Standard rooms are small but clean & comfortable & ideal if staying for the racing. Central location close to town, with gallops close by where you can watch the horses.

"A very tired hotel"
Roving440491, 01 Août 2021

A very tired hotel, I have to say staff were great and breakfast very enjoyable. Paid over £200 for our room , so cramped , the bathroom door wouldn't close, the shower didn't work properly either the flow was great but the temperature control didn't work. It was scolding. A very disappointing stay, not value for money. Best Westerns were nice hotels in our experience in bygone days, but you need to spend money on this one.

"Staff AMAZING"
Hjsi, 30 Juillet 2021

I travel a lot of places and I have never left a review before leaving. We have met 7 members of staff and every single one of them are cheerful and friendly. We arrived 112 expecting not to check in but the room was ready, so they offered our room early. We were on a prosecco package and that arrived in the room before us. The receptionist was so helpful booking lunch and a taxi. . We must of been upgraded as our room was massive... not what we were expecting. But all this aside the staff are so lovely. We were on a dinner package but we were going to the races so the let us swap to lunch. We could have 3 course's. Food was good but service was great. Not only with a smile but some banter. Seriously they made us feel so welcome. World recommend to anyone and definitely stay again

"Fantastic long weekend at the races."
Romeo24799, 25 Juillet 2021

First visit to Newmarket and certainly not the last. All the staff at Heath Court could not do enough to make our stay memorable for all the right reasons. COVID-19 procedures were clear and easy to follow. We felt safe and relaxed. The room was spotless and the bed fantastic, slept like logs. Our room was overlooking the car park and we didn't hear any noise. Breakfast was ample and a good variety. Evening meal was a good portion and reasonably priced. The location is perfect for everything to do on a Horsey weekend, NHRM 10 minute walk.

"Really Convenient"
Jollycat46, 25 Juillet 2021

The hotel offered a comfortable room very centrally placed. The parking was a bonus in such a central position. The staff were welcoming and efficient. It was great to see the horses on the Heath every morning with a short walk to view the gallops. The reception were particularly helpful with regard to the delivery of an urgent piece of mail, even taking the time to call me whilst out to let me know it had arrived safely. I ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was good with large portions. I stayed on the night of a racecourse music event and the hotel was full. There was no noise disturbance even with my room being one of the ones with a corridor window. I would stay here again.

"SUNDAY CARVERY"
michcarl, 21 Juillet 2021

Having googled somewhere to stop for a carvery on our way home we came across this hotel with great reviews regarding their carvery. I phoned ahead to see if they were still serving the carvery to which they said yes. Perfect we thought. On arrival the staff were really friendly and took us to our seats. It turned out there was only a choice of two meats and the carvery was actually a plated dinner. We chose the meat we wanted and then had a dish of three types of vegetables, which in my opinion was not enough. There wasn't enough meat on the plate and to be honest we could have eaten in over again. As we wanted to get home we asked for the bill and two staff mentioned we hadn't been here long most people stay for a couple of hours. Well we had to get home. All in all I wouldn't recommend the carvery as it's not really a carvery. £15.00 pound each for a couple of slices of meat and a few vegetables is not good value for money.

"Very friendly staff"
Seaside68469510226, 20 Juillet 2021

We had a very good experience at this hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to take our dog which was great and we could see the horses in training on the gallops from our room in the morning.

"Well situated"
mariner64, 16 Juillet 2021

Stayed recently for two nights whilst in the area for a wedding. Took advantage of making an offer for a room up grade on booking website. Oddly only one person in the lift at a time, but only two floor so no problem. The ten pound pasta and glass of wine deal was good value, good portions, be warned very spicy. Staff excellent, good full English breakfast. Coming out of our room, 46, excellent view overlooking the gallops. Yes, would stay again. Sad that Newmarket high street seems to be suffering like everywhere else

"Dog friendly delight"
Rebecca T, 13 Juillet 2021

Our first trip away in a very long time and having adopted a dog during lockdown this was our first trip. The hotel was perfect for people and welcomed our dog too, all very relaxed. Such friendly, happy staff, they really made us smile and want to come back one day.

"Chris"
Simm00, 27 Juin 2021

Very clean good service nothing too much trouble room with air-conditioning bed was comfortable Choice of a bath or a shower breakfast excellent I cannot fault anything. Plenty of hand sanitiser around the hotel

"Average"
arthurr428, 25 Juin 2021

Great staff but this hotel needs some tlc bathroom with no fan and no where to dry towels is not good. Also having to press a buzzer to be let in at 22.00 is just not normal. This hotel is in a fabulous location and it should capitalise on in my opinion.

"Great position and service."
Tantaluss, 03 Juin 2021

Great position just in the centre of town and at the bottom of Warren Hill. Check in was easy, staff were friendly and accommodating. Covid measures were very well implemented with plenty of sanitiser dotted around. Room was pleasant enough, comfy bed and good sized bathroom. TV had a slightly dodgy signal but it wasn't really an issue. Bar and restaurant etc were closed due to Covid so can't comment on them. Will definitely be staying again next time we need to visit Newmarket.

"WONDERFUL STAY."
veevee1990, 31 Mai 2021

Stayed here for a couple nights & we stayed in the the July suite. It was incredible & we slept so well. We enjoyed the Sunday carvery which was a 10/10 along with breakfast during our stay which was also very enjoyable. Enjoyed the outside marquee to for our food and beverages. We were so lucky to have lovely sun too. The staff were so polite and attentive & nothing was anything trouble. We would love to return and would recommend. Thank you again, for a lovely welcomed stay.

"Great stay "
01438, 25 Février 2021

I stayed at this hotel for one night and found it very welcoming, I also found the staff extremely friendly and if there are any problems they were happy to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again!

"Fantastic wedding! "
NicoleW912, 23 Décembre 2020

Heath Court stepped in last minute when my friend was let down by a different venue and hosted her intimate wedding reception meal. They did a brilliant job! Super friendly, lovely food and the room looked great. Thanks for making my friend's big day so special!

"Great view from room"
Lucy R, 10 Octobre 2020

We had one night here and I requested a room overlooking the stables and got one! It was great! The room was fairly small with a small bed but I still enjoyed it. Not far from town, quick check in and out with temp check, felt safe during Covid times. Great for the gallops too.

"We love staying here"
The2Olds, 05 Octobre 2020

My husband and I booked 3 nights here recently, we have stayed here several times before. The staff were lovely as usual and Cheryl on reception upgraded our room to a much bigger one with a better view of the Heath so that we could watch the horses at exercise. We very much appreciated her kind and thoughtful gesture. Breakfast was lovely and we felt very safe in the dining room. All of the staff took the time to engage with us and be friendly. We had no problems with the cleanliness of the hotel or with their Covid policies.

"Morning Coffee in the midst of Covid"
Bevvy4040, 26 Septembre 2020

In the middle of Covid I was looking for somewhere to meet an old friend for a catch up and a coffee. I first rang the hotel to check if this would be OK and the lady I spoke to on reception was so friendly and welcoming, even though we were only meeting for coffee. It was so reassuring when arriving to see how smoothly the same lady handled our first use of QR code explaining to me how to use the govt app. We were then served by another lovely lady with coffee and biscuits. She could not have been more helpful and we didn't feel rushed to finish up and get out. She was there but unobtrusive. Thanks to both of the aforementioned staff and I will be back for a carvery visit with my family very soon, current situation notwithstanding. Would highly recommend.

"Plain Sensible Business Hotel, Good Views, Good Value"
Tim O, 10 Septembre 2020

Robert and his team run a really friendly local hotel. They have got abreast of the Covid situation and provided the party with a plain no nonsense service and good food. Yes the hotel is a little tired looking but its being revamped-air conditioning now installed- but its clean and tidy, warm and friendly. When the upgrades are finished it will be worth more than 4 star.

"Lovely hotel"
AlisonAsh, 04 Septembre 2020

Romms were lovely and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ideal location, short walk into main shopping street. Going back in September as my daughter is joining Newmarket racing college. Right next to the gallops so nice to see the race horses in the morning

"Excellent stay"
Expedition590448, 08 Août 2020

Lovely hotel in a stunning location. Room overlooking the gallops meant we could watch the early risers out riding. Air conditioning a welcome addition. Despite covid measures, we felt safe and well looked after. Staff were fantastic as ever. Look forward to returning again soon.

"A lovely stay."
A8667HLphilb, 24 Février 2020

Very kind and friendly staff here, from the receptionist to maintenance. I stayed for one night and was very pleased, well maintained rooms looked freshly renovated, everything worked well, bed was really comfortable, nice bar and a short stroll into town. Considering this is a budget hotel, Ive had worse stays in hotels costing twice as much. Yes the layout is a bit quirky but it makes a nice change from the usual Premier/Travelodge style. Looks like they are spending some money here too. Clean, tidy, quiet and cheap.

"Excellent experience"
PCliveR, 21 Février 2020

Together with numerous members of family we spent a pre wedding night in the hotel and found the overall experience very enjoyable. It is probably 3/4 star accommodation but everybody was friendly even if the service behind the bar was slow. My one gripe and it is a big one is that I was presented with a large bar bill on leaving with various signatures none of which were mine and this lack of checking must be rectified!!!

"Don't set you're expectations too high and you'll be fine"
pej78, 24 Janvier 2020

By best western standards heath court is maybe slightly below par. Odd layout and dated rooms central heating not on just air con units in each room. Was nice and quiet I'll give them that. Didn't eat there as the hotel is in a great spot to walk into the town centre of Newmarket, looked a pretty limited menu.

"Dated, nusiance residents and non operational management"
Boops S, 02 Janvier 2020

Stayed here very recently, I had an audit in the morning, so it was cruical I was able to sleep. Wasn't able to sleep due to a lady screaming all the way till 2-4 in the morning. Confronted management there, with no support, they couldn't confront her or move my room, said they were fully booked. Complained formally about it in the morning, still waiting to hear back, not a word from their pathetic process. Appalling management and hotel was dated furniture and room decor, with paint peeling off.

"Has always been good, now even better"
MarkCWales, 28 Décembre 2019

This has always been a lovely hotel with great staff. Now, they have redecorated, installed air conditioning and bought large flatscreen TVs so it's even better. They take dogs too, which sets them apart in Newmarket. Really very highly recommended

"Dated, rubbish decor in room."
IanIngamells, 11 Décembre 2019

Awful room, holes in the walls, paper coming away from walls, fixtures have been removed and not redecorated, dirt on walls where fixtures have been removed and not redecorated, the company I work for has been notified and best Western all round will lose the companies future business. I have more pictures but could only upload ten! I have added them all to Google, have a look, it is quite unacceptable.

"Impressed"
Gapre, 25 Novembre 2019

Great location minutes from high street and nice quiet location Had a superior room which was really large comfortable and cosy. Nicely furnished with nice large comfortable bed and great bathroom and products Tv with lots of channels and good internet Very nice bar and restaurant area and food was very good Most outstanding at this hotel were the staff who were really welcoming chatty and friendly Would not usually choose best western but did so on this occasion because they were dog friendly. Having said that would definitely stay here again and have different view of best western product All around a great little place and well worth the stay

"Decent Hotel but very old fashioned"
PJRManchester, 14 Novembre 2019

Stayed here on business for 2 nights and first impressions were not good. From the outside it looks like a throwback to a 1970's office. However once in the room it was OK even though the rooms were a bit dated too. Furniture was old fashioned especially the clock/radio at the side of the bed. One thing I found very strange was that you had to ask reception to turn on the heating in the room. The heat was from an air conditioning unit on the wall but the heat wouldn't work so I called reception who switched on the heat for me. They even asked how warm I wanted it. Next morning and next evening I had to ask them again to put on the heat..........never come across that before. Don't think it was just my room either as it looks like they can control the heat in every room from the PC on the desk at reception. Besides all that I actually enjoyed my stay. The bed was comfy, bathroom was quite big and the best thing was the breakfast. The chef made my poached eggs at the counter so I could see them being poached while doing some toast. Only had poached egg and beans on toast but it was really nice and the eggs were the best I've tasted for while. Would I stay here again?.............................Yes

"Odd layout "
Vickers55, 08 Novembre 2019

Came for a meeting. Parking a challenge. Rather dark and closed in corridors. Nice meeting room. Refreshments ok. Overall an adequate but rather old fashioned place. Not sure I would choose it if I was planning a meeting.

"Good stay"
Sightseer08387237892, 03 Novembre 2019

Good location, easy to reach. Very friendly staff a reception, warm welcome. Room was nice, noisy doors and typical English heating system. Carpet in the room was clean and well maintained. Breakfast - basic English style and friendly waitresses.

"Afternoon Tea, half term treat!"
Ian Y, 21 Octobre 2019

Lovely afternoon tea, a treat as it was half term. Food was great with a fantastic choice of sandwiches, cakes and scones. Lovely tea individual pots of tea, various flavours to chose from. One of our party is a wheelchair user, easy access etc, which can sometimes be a problem. Staff very attentive but not over the top. Fabulous afternoon. Thank you very much.

"Marvellous Meeting "
shelliem11, 17 Octobre 2019

Attended a business meeting at this lovely hotel, plenty of parking, a warm welcome and greeted with a smile by reception.Well equipped meeting room with everything we needed, delicious coffee, pastries and carvery lunch , really couldn't ask for more.

"Very helpful!"
TravellingYorksLass, 09 Octobre 2019

We stayed here for one night short notice and they couldn't have been more helpful when we had to change from a single to double room. When we got there they even upgraded us to a bigger room! The lady who checked us in (identifying think her name was Elaine?) Was super friendly and helpful. The room, whilst very generic, was spacious and super clean. Had everything we needed and in the middle off town. Would definitely stay again!

"Ok hotel"
Little_brown_cutie, 16 Septembre 2019

Very friendly & helpful welcome, & staff good throughout the hotel. Good location. Clean, comfy rooms. Not great sleep as a LOT of light pollution in the room, both through the window & under the large gap under the door. Also very noise with toilets flushing & bathroom fans coming on/of. The bedrooms need to be MUCH better sound & light proofed. Basic breakfast - absolutely nothing I wanted to eat :-(

"Interesting area, reasonable hotel."
Ian F, 15 Septembre 2019

Here on business as you would expect the town has many links with the horse racing. On leaving the hotel horse were going to or from the gallops at 0800. The hotel was pleasant got my upgrade to a suite which was quite large. Beside the sofa was a tear in the carpet. Like many of the group of hotels, rooms are furnished in an old fashioned manner. Breakfast was freshly cooked with the poached eggs being done by the chef in full view.

"Safe, quiet and great value"
PaulE1962, 01 Septembre 2019

Best westerns can be variable. This one, however, we thought was really good. Slightly out of town (this is Newmarket, so a GOOD thing) but everything is walkable if you are active. The staff were pleasant, the room was huge and quiet. We will be back.

"Nigel scott"
snigel9, 31 Août 2019

Every thing about this hotel was great good food and staff were excellent the hotel is ideal if you want to see the race horses and only 2 minutes walk and your on the high street.we will stay here again.

"Food great, staff not so"
Dave01999, 18 Août 2019

The food was lovely and what we expected. The meat was exceptional and served by a kind and polite chef. Evander was a brilliant waiter, he was kind, polite, well mannered and exceptional at his job. As so are Sarah and Caroline. However we found Louise to be very rude and arrogant, she wasnt at all welcoming and just didnt make us feel confortable in the restaurant.

"tired and dated hotel...very poor room we stayed in."
Brian Mckee M, 05 Août 2019

We were in a room that was not to the standard advertised (SUPERIOR TWIN),the decor was appalling with plaster patches/filler clearly unfinished on the walls, wall paper splitting at the seams a carpet which had seen better days covered in stains and stank. The room was very musty and hot and when we opened the windows for fresh air we could hear the boiler room loudly working away, the constant noise from a 24 hr garage that was 20 yards or so away, car doors banging and all types of vehicles coming and going.I know that is part and parcel of the site position but the noise from the boiler room was constant and unavoidable at the back of the hotel even with the windows closed. The cost of the room was incredibly expensive for what we received £469. 30 was shocking for a dated and unhygienic room in our opinion. We didnt complain as we knew through the website and others whom had tried to book for the same period that the hotel was full to capacity as it was a racing weekend.

"Brilliant Hotel "
valeriehW6023HD, 19 Juillet 2019

The hotel is nice and small bar and restaurant great. The very helpful and friendly staff help in way they could to make your stay very restful and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Our room was big and spacious. Views lovely from room window. Would stop again.

"A Pleasant Low Key Hotel That does all the basics better than most and some very well indeed."
Tim O, 14 Juillet 2019

Was expected and greeted by a very polite and pleasant receptionist who set the tone for a three day stay. Throughout the staff were well above average. The food was above average at all the meals we as a group ate in the hotel restaurant or bar. The room was clean and very comfortable. However there were a few niggles with the bathroom. My biggest issue would be that the bath is slippery which makes having a shower a bit if a test. A mat or hand rail would be sensible. Having said that the other issues were dealt with well and promptly which is a good sign in any hotel. In short well above average and somewhere that would be good for a private stay too.

"Great location, great staff, great breakfast"
NorthStar57751330148, 08 Juillet 2019

Heath Court is a clean well functioning hotel. I was only there for one night but I arrived tired and stressed and left relaxed and looking forward to a busy day. it is not luxurious but it does exactly what it says on the tin. i would go back there.

"Fantastic carvery"
352kathrynm, 08 Juillet 2019

We have visited the carvery on a Sunday a number of times now, and have always had a good meal. Nice choice of meat, fish or veggie option, with well cooked vegetables, roasties and yorkshire puds. Good value, very friendly, great service and always enjoyable.

"Brilliant location for horse racing fans"
Coastal54069750279, 01 Juillet 2019

The Heath Court Hotel is located a 2minute walk from the gallops at Warren Hill, equine nirvana for fans of horse racing. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are comfortable and the food is good, a great place to stay.

"Unpleasantly Surprised!"
usuk2015, 25 Juin 2019

We booked our trip over a year ago and paid over $1000 for a room for one week. My first impression of the room was that I had walked into the bedroom of a dated, scruffy, bed and breakfast at the seaside! Ceiling tiles were loose, paint was scuffed, bathroom fixtures rusty, bathroom fan dirty/not working, stained carpets, battered furniture, toilet didn't flush properly....the list goes on! This was NOT the standard we expected and for the money we paid from a Best Western! I asked for a transfer and was told the hotel was full, although the car park was almost empty(?). After 4 days (and lots of complaining) I was offered another room. I would not recommend anyone to stay here...unless you don't mind unpleasant surprises...

"Another excellent lunch"
topcat8562, 19 Juin 2019

We travelled back from Swindon in time to have lunch at the Heath Court. As always the Carvery was excellent and the service provided by the lovely Sarah and her team was everything could have asked for.

"Excellent customer service"
Suzanne T, 16 Juin 2019

Booked into this Best Western as attending a wedding. Hotel was clean and tidy , staff were very accommodating, receptionist went out of her way to enable us to check in early so we could get changed and ready for the wedding. Breakfast was delicious and again staff very helpful

"Tip Top"
dr8484, 05 Juin 2019

Huge comfortable very light bed room in hotel that seemed silent. Super bfast with well-presented and kept hot buffet. Bfast team quickly set up table in bar so our dog could stay with us. Most certainly would return. In addition, hotel right by Gallops where we saw hundreds of race horses being exercised at 8am; but location is also just a minute from start high street.

"Nice place to stay...staff lovely! "
laurajmcn, 29 Mai 2019

Stayed here twice with work on business. Hotel is a great base for central Newmarket. Both rooms I've stayed in very different but slept ok and showers are good! Bed not so great 2nd stay but not awful either. Bit too soft. One thing that stands out are the staff. Checkin efficient and lots of smiles and friendly greetings from staff who passed in corridor etc. On my 2nd stay I was tired after a long day and journey so I called the restaurant to order a snack and a drink to have in my room and Kristian was so lovely and the tray was nicely presented when I collected to have in my room! See pic! Great place to stay in Newmarket especially on business!

"Excellent customer service. Lovely breakfast."
Casscraw, 27 Mai 2019

We had a great night's stay. The room (one of the outside rooms with an external window) was great - clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. The quality bed linen is great and the beds very comfy. Mum liked the quilt so much she has replaced her feather quilt with the type from the hotel since we got home. The toiletries and tea tray selection are all top quality brands - very much appreciated. After an overnight journey, we arrived at 9am so we sat in the lounge until we could check in. Mum ordered a coffee. It was served in a small cafettiere and was very nice. Coffee comes with a packet of biscuits and we were kindly offered two packets which was a lovely touch. Great quality biscuits too - not just the usual bourbons or custard creams. They staff were lovely to our dogs too. We always applaud a hotel that does not charge for dogs. Breakfast was absolutely excellent with great service and well cooked, quality ingredients; and an extensive selection of items to choose from. The eggs were freshly cooked to your liking by a chef at the buffet; very nice. I must praise every member of staff for their customer service. Nothing was too much trouble. A room attendant even rushed ahead of me to open a corridor door for me and another called the lift for me as I approached. Mum left her own china mug when we left breakfast. When I returned, the waitress knew why I was there without my having to speak. She said she had put it in the dishwasher after which she was going to fetch it to our room; so she returned it to our room freshly washed! All in all, a great stay with very well trained and attentive but not intrusive staff. Great location and car park too.

"Holiday stay"
frankieprobert1958, 25 Mai 2019

Absolutely fantastic experience, cat think of anywhere you could get a better service. Friendly, welcoming and very helpfull staff, make you feel at home, straight away its like family. Deffinately will be going back there.

"Quiet, comfortable hotel with great service"
glynn S, 22 Mai 2019

First time in this hotel, 2 night business trip. Hotel is easy to find with good parking, a couple of minute walk from town centre. Service from all staff has been excellent, friendly, professional and competent. Breakfast really good, good choices. I ate in the restaurant in evenings, good menu. I had belly pork for one meal, beautifully cooked and presented, best I have tasted in a while. Rooms are okay, I had a single. Furniture is a bit tired, bed was comfy, good aircon and bathroom obviously had a refurb, plenty of hot water. No real views from room as it faced into a corridor and then outside.

"Overnight stay in Newmarket"
David J, 13 Mai 2019

I can recommend this hotel as location is excellent, staff very friendly and helpful and very good value for money. The rooms while very basic are clean and certainly perfectly acceptable. We will certainly stay here again when visiting Newmarket Dave Jacques

"Fine for a quick trip"
Rachel_h002, 12 Mai 2019

We booked a double room for one night, as we were attending a family wedding nearby. We arrived at midnight, and left at 9. The room was small and could do with a refurb. But the bed was comfy and the shower was hot so it served a purpose. Probably wouldn't come for a week holiday, but is perfect as a base for a short visit to the area.

"Aunty Chris & Uncle John 50th wedding anniversary"
russellspencer2018, 27 Avril 2019

We were invited to join our family for a surprise celebration of my Aunty & Uncles 50th wedding anniversary at the Heathcote. We arrived to a good sized car park with plenty of parking spaces. We went in & were instantly greeted by a lady at reception. We went on into the bar & ordered a drink The restaurant & bar & reception were the areas that we saw & they were well decorated & looked very fresh. I assume a recently refurbished. We sat down for our meal with appx 20 of us & the food orders came out promptly as they were pre ordered. Nick & Russ both had the prawn cocktail. It was lovely well presented tasted fresh. We then went on to the main course Russ has pork belly & Nick had the chicken it was perfect well presented & tasted lovely. The desserts were next which Russ had rhubarb crumble which was lovely & Nick had the cheesecake which again was lovely Followed by Tea & coffee. The staff were attentive, professional & couldn't do enough to be of service. We were thougherly looked after & will definitely go back if in the area. 10 out of 10 Great atmosphere. Thanks to all of our family that were there great get together. Thanks to all the organisers. The hotel staff couldn't do enough for us. Thanks Russ & Nick

"Overnight stay"
Lisa B, 20 Avril 2019

Lovely friendly place to stay. Pretty much on top of the town and so close to the Heath where the horses train everyday. Service was brilliant, breakfast was good and the room was very big. Only thing wrong was how warm the room was, thank god there was a fan, and the noise from the pump in bathroom. Not sure if it was ours or the room next door. However, this wouldn't put me off booking here again.

"Excellent Stay"
49peteh, 13 Avril 2019

We stayed along with our dog to attend a party in the evening. We only had the invitation that morning but the hotel very fortunately had a room free. On arrival we were giving an upgraded room which was massive. The party in the evening was very enjoyable and the finger buffet was excellent. All in all a very pleasant stay with very helpful and friendly staff

"Mothering Sunday 31/03/19"
Patricia L, 31 Mars 2019

What a fantastic time we all had! Beautiful table decorations, fantastic staff, and the 3 Course Set Menu was absolutely delicious! One of the best Sunday Lunches we have had in a long time. Will definitely be eating here again. A big Thank you to all the staff who made us feel special and nothing was too much for them. Great team effort !

"60th Birthday Afternoon Tea"
159geraldine, 09 Mars 2019

Would just like to say a great big THANK YOU!! to the staff at the Best Western Heath Court Hotel Newmarket for the most wonderful afternoon tea. We were celebrating a 60th Birthday for a very dear friend and the hotel staff were so helpful in making sure we all had a wonderful time. The tables were dressed beautifully too. Would definitely recommend this venue for great service and the most delicious afternoon tea. 10/10.

"Terrible experience"
jimN263EL, 03 Mars 2019

I had a problem with my booking which the hotel told me that they could not sort out, despite having the solution available to them. The woman who checked us in was inflexible and unhelpful. However, this review is about the room that we stayed in and not that issue. The room is nothing like the rooms shown when you book online. It is smaller, pretty much a box, old and tired. The photos that I took show the range of issues. There was a tiny stool, presumably because nothing else would fit. The window, bizarrely, looked out onto a corridor. The carpet was old and stained. The bathroom had dusty areas and black mould. The shower curtain did not fit, which made the floor unpleasantly wet and is the cause of the damp and black mould in the bathroom. This is not rocket science, so I suppose the hotel doesn't care enough to get a longer curtain. That would fit with the rest of my experience. The radio alarm clock went off at 6 a.m. (a better hotel would have this on the room service check list - guests might not know how it operates) but the general noises around would have woken me anyway. I could not wait to leave. The lady who checked us out was polite and concerned and I wished she had been there the night before as our experience might have been completely different.

"Fabulous location and staff"
Resort05836056633, 27 Février 2019

The staff were very welcoming, the room was really big, breakfast was good. The location was fantastic close to gallops , surrounded by stables, great fun even if you aren't a horse lover . good value, would definitely return

"Good hotel for meeting (and racing)"
mfrk2014, 13 Février 2019

I had a very spacious room that was heated by a space heater since there was some issue with their heating (and I was informed of this issue when I checked in so there will be no surprise). Breakfast was good and the staff were always helpful and cheerful. Easily got to borrow an iron and ironing board to get my suit looking professional for business meetings. Dinner was great (the carvery was good but I enjoyed the salmon even more) and had a great conversation with a couple who were dining out who were over from Bury St. Edmunds.

"One stop for business"
robcU9704OO, 23 Janvier 2019

Booked here for work and compared other local hotels and chose this. Room is overlooked by the BP petrol station and I could sum it up as a 'make do' hotel. Small and looks alike a converted block fo flates where public balocny has not had windows added. Is currently -2 degrees outside and room is freezing as radiator is not on despit being set to max. Decent bathroom with nice bath and piping hot water. Bed is clean and comfy. Nice central location with ample parking.

"Central"
Essexnat, 17 Janvier 2019

Needs refurbishing but quaint and comfy beds. A little basic but peaceful. Very central to Newmarket and reasonably priced. Ideal for a night or weekend in town. Rooms are a bit of a trek but plenty of parking

"A hotel worthy of the Best Western brand"
Chris_Nial67, 27 Décembre 2018

Cheryl was very welcoming when we arrived and made us instantly feel we'd made the right choice. The hotel is recently renovated and is spotless. Furniture and decorations are of a very good quality. The beds were super comfortable - I had two excellent night sleep. The bathrooms are large and have a luxury brand of toiletries. We were checked out by Robert, the general manager who made us feel very welcome to return. I look forward to visiting again in the spring and summer.

"Boxing Day Lunch"
David K, 27 Décembre 2018

We used to go to the Heathcourt quite regularly when we lived in Newmarket, but moved away and this was our first return in four years. We found the dining area fully and tastefully refurbished with the same friendly staff, although some new faces, the surprise was to see that Robert was still the same caring and friendly General Manager and had not gone to pastures new. The Boxing Day lunch was well presented and fully enjoyable.

"Christmas Cracker"
shelliem11, 11 Décembre 2018

Great overnight stay as part of our pre Christmas celebrations, such a warm welcome, spacious and well equipped room. Fantastic atmosphere, dinner and party night , felt very well looked after by a cheerful and helpful team, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to return next year !

"Not seen a tin of paint in ten years"
bigj6348, 10 Décembre 2018

stayed for works party close by. Hotel is very easy to find with car parking on and off grounds. small hotel with 2 floors and small bar area. the hotel is old and looks old, not sure if the rooms have been decorated in ten years. The rooms windows looked into the walk way to access the room and the amount of stains, marks on the carpet made you smile. the rooms are not cheap here and you can tell its a best western hotel. breakfast food was nice but no black pudding :( would prefer not to stay here in the future.

"Overnight stay whilst travelling"
Michael N, 08 Décembre 2018

As a BW reward card member this hotel came up with a good B & B offer and it was convenient to our route. Nice quiet room, overlooking car park with plenty of space and a comfy bed. Was not enthused with dinner menu so walked into main town centre. Breakfast was excellent (only ones in restaurant) with the eggs cooked in front of you to perfection. Plenty of buffet choice so set us up for the day ahead.

"Great Christmas Lunch had by all."
Kay P, 05 Décembre 2018

Our friendly art group booked our Christmas lunch at the Heath Court Hotel, there were 20 of us. Booking was easy, deposit paid, final numbers, food choices and balance paid all made so easy by the great staff. On the day we were made to feel welcome right from walking through the doors, even when they were so busy with other multiple groups. Starters arrived, all looked lovely and tasted just as good. Mains, well what can I say everyone was very pleased with their choice. Desserts were scrummy followed by tea or coffee and mince pies. The waiting staff were excellent, efficient and friendly. Christmas novelties made for a fun lunch. I am passing on our thanks from our group for making this meal happy and memorable. The entire staff are to be congratulated from the top to the bottom, chefs you are great. See you again.

"Needs a change"
Munchy71, 28 Novembre 2018

I love a car very on a Sunday especially at this place. It's a shame they have been doing the same meet (Gammon) which I don't exactly expect for a roast dinner for a while !! The beef is great as are the alternatives. They used to do a lovely roast pork with great crackling...... The staff however are amazing a very attentive.

"Needs some serious money spending on the place."
Swedge66, 25 Novembre 2018

Stayed here for four nights and stayed in double room with internal window which are without doubt the smallest double rooms i have ever stayed in. Stayed here in double room with single occupancy and would struggle for room if there were two of us. On the upside staff were friendly with a good bar and shower to die for and plenty of hot drink options in room but room very dated. Better options in Newmarket for prices charged.Wont be rushing back.

"Great western"
Meander48363128365, 22 Novembre 2018

Had the most delightful waiter serving us. He made our lunch even nicer. One of the loveliest waiters I've ever had! Thank you very much Evander x The food was really nice too we often go for the carvey!

"A relaxed evening business meeting"
Stephen C, 18 Novembre 2018

Newmarket was the chosen place for a catch up meeting with European suppliers we work with. This was ideal, not far from Stansted airport and close to a customer that needed a visit. An evening meal to talk over business etc, so an overnight stop made it really convenient as we didnt know how long this would take to talk over. The Room I had was large, clean and comfortable, not complaints at all. The staff very helpful and I found friendly also. The evening meal in the restaurant was spot on, good selection, well presented and very good all round, all our party agreed. Breakfast started at 7 o clock, but no hot buffet food till after 7.30 not so good. One thing I found bizarre, the toaster, big sign instructing you to put the bread through only once! I tried twice as first time round it didn't have any effect, then I found out the reason for the sign, it smokes like hell and could set of the fire alarm I guess, lucky for me it didn't. You are a hotel serving breakfast, buy a new toaster please, quite simple! Would I stay again, yes without a doubt, good rooms, nice staff and very reasonable cost.

"Dated abd very tired.. ."
Julmagolf, 15 Novembre 2018

The room me and my colleague were issued were like stepping back in the 70's and no chance of changing as the hotel was full. On entering i was in shock at such a low standard. Cups on the drinks tray dirty ring on the inside!! Worn carpets and a bed I slept on top of on towels not daring to sleep in if tge carpets anything to go by..... the airconditioning unit started leaking water in the early hours. The only decent thing about the room waa the bathroom had been refurbished and the breakfast was nice I will never return to a Best Western hotel...such shoddy accomodation

"Good Dinner - But...."
Nadenza, 11 Novembre 2018

A Very good dinner is spoiled here, because of the instance of the staff putting on the air con, even on a COLD day ! The Sunday carvery is nice and is great value, but I the staff has got to realise that us 'sitting' customers do not always want the air con on. Its there for CUSTOMER COMFORT on hot days, summer days, not on a cold winters day, The fact that they are hot, is because their working, in and out of the kitchen,( it goes with the job ) but they must be reminded, that its the paying customer that's keep them in a job, I do not want to sit and eat my Sunday dinner with my coat on, also, it also makes the dinner go cold more quickly, I would have thought that the management, would also like to keep the energy costs down, it is totally unnecessary. If you cannot think about customer comfort, then at least think about the environment. WE wont be using this for a while now. If and when I go back, and it happens again, I will be complaining to head office and ask for my money back, eating out is not all about getting fed, is about the whole experience, in comfort. Not sitting there with coats on with a cold breeze blowing around. he place could also do with a refit, it looks drab and tired now.

"Lunch"
Maura B, 07 Novembre 2018

Had friend visiting so I felt the Heath Court was the Restaurant of choice for lunch. Once again the food was cooked to perfection. A choice of two meats from the carvery and 3 vegetables. The staff were friendly and efficient as usual. My friend visiting for the 1st time loved their Gammon. Great footfall. Restaurant fully booked for lunch midweek.

"Could be better with investment"
Ceri g, 06 Novembre 2018

Stayed here last night for work. It's hard to judge harshly but loads of little things added up. It's easy to find and there's a decent amount of parking. Warm and friendly welcome on arrival. The reception area is very modern but the room is quite small but had everything needed, if a bit dated. But, there's no window to outside. Air con wasn't working so it was really stuffy in the room so didn't sleep very well. WiFi was very quick and efficient but there were signal problems with most of the channels on the TV. Good to have a few Sky Sports channels though, this is a rare treat. My lock on the door didn't work, it could do with a deep clean (dust over the toilet) and a toilet brush would have been handy to help the house keepers out. One of the towels wasn't very clean. Didn't have any food in the restaurant so can't comment on that. With a few improvements, it would be great.

"Amazing value for lunch buffet"
F1523XKdavidc, 23 Octobre 2018

Tucked away Behring Newmarket High Street,Mathis 1960s style hotel has quite a large dining area, offering bar snacks and a car very daily. The latter, at 8 pounds 95, is remarkable value. Self-service with today a beef joint and a gammon joint. Staff, once they noticed us, we vert attentive and friendly. Bar snacks looked good. Quality is competent, customer base quite senior (we are 71 and quite possibly the youngest there), decor rather 1970s, it isn't a young set hangout. It just feels cosy. And a bargain

"Over priced and out dated rooms"
Joanna W, 14 Octobre 2018

Checked in on Thursday for a 2 night stay, had to pay on checking in, no other guest did! Room very out dated and tired, expected more for price paid, know prices go up for race days but over 100% mark up!!! Bathroom had miss matched tiles and burn mark in flooring plus no glasses plastic drink dispenser cups. Had drinks in the bar before eating in the restaurant, served by a rude, patronising waitress. The bar was freezing due to air con, had to ask in the restaurant for it to be turned down as far too cold and not pleasant to sit and eat. Once again some of the staff rude. Food very average and overpriced for what it was. Didn't eat it drink in there on second evening. Woken at 6.30am both morning by noise from the kitchen and on the first morning electrons working on circuit board outside of room door at 7.50am, luckily already up and dressed due to the early wake up call from the kitchen. When checking out not asked did we enjoy our stay etc , keys just taken off me as too busy dealing with another guest or I should say ringing her phone which was in her hand to see if it worked in this country!!!

"Lovely helpful staff"
Barbara L, 12 Octobre 2018

We have just spent a week in this hotel and I can honestly say that all the staff were cheerful and helpful all the time. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Not the poshest hotel I have stayed in but definitely the best. The breakfast was really good for either a cooked breakfast or a more simple cereals with extras type. The bar was always friendly and helpful and the evening meals were consistently good. I have visited twice and found Emma to be very helpful on both occasions.

"Bakers Lunch at the beautiful hotel with amazing carvery!"
LukeH1900, 10 Octobre 2018

We had the annual bakers Lunch on 10/10/2018 - and we had a carvery at this hotel - a few members were running a bit late but this didn't not worry the staff who told us we could take as long as we want. We got guided to the table and went up for the carvery, although we were a bit disappointed that you could only choose one option & not have a bit of both! Although the carvery was beautiful - and beats Toby Carvery any day! Following this we had desserts which were quick and speedy - before finally having coffee and tea to end the Lunch. Staff were very helpful and friendly & couldn't not have been more accommodating to us. We didn't stay the night so can not comment on the rooms. Excellent restaurant - look forward to returning next April for the next Bakers Lunch.

"Lunch. Horrible !"
Lesley A, 09 Octobre 2018

Met my relatives here for lunch. Carvery offering beef or gammon and salmon. I had the salmon. I took the skin off and had a mouthful and found a hair inside I called the waiter he took my meal came back and said. The chef is surprised as no one in the kitchen has blonde hair !!! Obviously inferring that it was mine !! I was offered an alternative but as most other dishes were a long wait and my family were all eating I had soup. It was barely warm and unpleasant. My family thought the carvery meat was tough. We were offered a free coffee and I was charged for the soup. We won't be returning. On the way out I enquired about the paintings on the walls and asked if there was a card or contact details. The reply I got was NO. ????

"Friendly atmosphere"
cathmike2, 02 Octobre 2018

The staff were friendly and very accommodating - allowing us to check into our rooms early to freshen up before we went to the races. The rooms were a little bit dated - with windows overlooking the corridor, but were clean and perfectly adequate for our overnight stay. The breakfast was varied and ample. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the area.

"Average"
stephenjH7345GV, 02 Octobre 2018

I visited the Best Western in Newmarket on a business trip, the hotel was well situated for the High Street, with access to local restaurants a walk away. The room was small and outdated, the staff at the hotel were pleasant, however, a bit confusing at checkout.

"Great service"
birminghamx2, 09 Septembre 2018

This hotel is in a great location in Newmarket walking distance to everywhere you can park up and relax. We received a lovely warm welcome and a large airy room with a coffee machine which made a lovely cup of coffee. Comfy bed and plenty of room clean and well equipped.

"Great family room"
Sarriesgirl, 07 Septembre 2018

We stayed overnight with our 5 year old as we were attending a wedding. Staff were lovely and went out if their away tobgelpus as we'd arrived so early and needed somewhere to stay. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious and there was a huge choice to suit all of our likes.

"Overnight Accommodation"
Kevin F, 22 Août 2018

Had some business to do down in Newmarket. Stopped over in the Best Western Heath Court. Clean and tidy room that could do with brightening up a bit.......some TLC. Food was good and breakfast was really tasty. All the staff were very pleasant.

"Great nights stay "
mark_ess, 16 Août 2018

Pleasant welcoming staff I got an upgrade and had great nights sleep..bed very comfy ..room excellent with well equipped bathroom Good quality breakfast..only down side no vegetarian sausages for my work colleague.

"Business trip"
Tracy D, 16 Août 2018

Booked into this hotel for 3 nights. Receptionist very cheerful and friendly. The reason I am rating a 3 (average). The room itself did have a window but out onto a corridor even though a window on the other side of the corridor the room itself was gloomy and needed a light on even on the middle of the day. The food in the restaurant was good especially the beef stew and the Newmarket sausages. Asked for changes to the meals due to dietary requirements and these where accommodated with no issues. The waiting staff all very friendly. There was a good choice at breakfast of hot and cold. The tea used by the hotel was very pleasant rather than the normal fair trade tea bags a lot of hotels use. I would stop here again if down that way on business but would ask for a room that had an outside window rather than a window on to a corridor.

"Wedding stay"
Eileen B, 14 Août 2018

Stayed at this hotel for one night. Receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. Room was clean but very small and basic and over priced in my opinion. Took advantage of the Sunday lunchtime carvery. However, getting them to serve it in the bar area took some persuading. This was our only option to eat as bar snacks/light meals are not available on Sundays. The carvery was obviously very popular and did taste good. It's a shame the hotel doors are locked before 11.30pm as we had to wait for around 20 minutes for someone to come and let us in. Thought it was going to be a night in the car!

"Satisfactory, no - frills stay"
Richard H, 08 Août 2018

I stayed here for one night only. It was on one of the hottest days/nights of the summer. I had booked the room via Tripadvisor and the price was £81 without breakfast ( quite expensive for a Monday I thought ). The first floor room was quite large with a full size double bed. Both the room and bathroom were clean but the main problem was the lack of air conditioning on a very hot night. There was a pedestal fan with a 2 pin plug but no adaptor to fit the 3 pin wall socket. The walls must also be quite thin as you can hear other residents. Wouldn't want to stay here on a race night. Due to the heat I had a fairly uncomfortable night, sleep-wise. On a cooler night I'm sure it would have been okay. I paid £9.50 for the breakfast which was buffet style. I opted to have a full English. The bacon wasn't done enough for me and the scrambled egg was watery. All in all, not a good value breakfast. No complaints about the staff at reception or in the dining room, all friendly enough. Probably the best thing about the hotel from my viewpoint was the location, just a few minutes walk from the High Street on one side and about 60 yards from the main gallops on the Heath in the other direction (brilliant if you want to watch racehorses under training in the mornings). Not sure I will book here again, certainly not in a heatwave !

"Horse racing visit to Newmarket races"
Andy N, 06 Août 2018

Do not stay at this hotel unless it is your last resort. The majority of staff are friendly but the one who booked us out of the hotel was totally different being very snooty not even asking how was our stay? It was a good job as she would have received all of the details. The room was clean and tidy and had a nice bathroom. The walls are like paper after we stayed for two nights and on the first night a group of lads in the adjacent room did not stop until 3am in the morning. The room was very hot after returning from the races. Our room 26 was situated directly next to a Shell filling station and food store. You could hit both with a frisbee such was the proximity to the hotel. You had the noise of cars re-fuelling and people talking on the forecourt directly below your window. The noise was horrendous when you expect piece and tranquility in a hotel that was not cheap to book. You also had a large group of motor cyclists revving their rambling engines prior to leaving the garage that was far far too close to the hotel. This carried on for a long time. The restaurant was nice but the food was very average but not the prices that were expensive even for a simply bar meal. i had a fish that you could tell was not taken from near the sea and again was very average but the staff friendly and helpful in this area. The staff in the foyer were ver pleasant apart from the lady booking us out. we would not use this hotel again as it does not give you peace an quiet when you need it and the garage and shop are so close it is movement and noise most of the time.

"Very Comfortable Room In Heath Court Hotel"
Philip P, 31 Juillet 2018

Really enjoyed my stay in this welcoming hotel. Very friendly greeting on arrival and was offered an upgrade to a small suite which was totally unexpected. Comfortable bed and clean room all maintained to a high standard. Good breakfast with plenty of choices. The hotel was only a short stroll away from the town centre with its restaurants and pubs. Good parking available. Very reasonable price for B+B. I will definitely stay again if I need to visit this area.

"Barmy"
Chris W, 29 Juillet 2018

Have you ever heard anything like this? Went in the hotel to buy vouchers for a present and guess what? You can only buy vouchers Mon-Fri, so going in there today (Sunday) you can't purchase them. Computerised age, obviously not. If they are this unhelpful over something so simple God help you if it is something more major. Go to Kings in Newmarket instead, more welcoming and much more helpful.

"My stay at BW"
Paul C, 27 Juillet 2018

The hotel is convenient for the customers I have to visit. Do not stay here in the summer months. They air conditioning in the lobby, but the rooms have none and during a heat wave it is stifling hot.

"Working away for business"
mdds1612, 24 Juillet 2018

I and a collegue book this hotel when there is availbity as we travel from Scotland and work in Newmarket weekly since April 2018 and still booked up for August 2018, but staff at Heath Court are awesome, nothing is too much trouble, however the only downside is that some of the rooms are a little dated. Food is good and location is perfect for downtown Haymarket or even a 5 mins walk to see the horses train.

"Very ordinay dinner"
Dunelm59, 24 Juillet 2018

Went with friends for carvery early Sunday evening, about 6pm. On advising that wanted to eat from the carvery we were told that they some fresh broccoli was being cooked, so waited, and waited and waited some more, It was actually quite ridiculous, the length of time we waited from something which can be prepped at home and cooked in about 5 minutes, but apparently hotels don't u se pans any more, and the cooking equipment had broken down. Anyway, we eventually went for food from the servery to be greeted by extremely rare beef, and yes I appreciate it it is my choice not to like beef which has virtually still got a pulse, but the alternative was gammon which looked so dry it was off putting and salmon similarly wizened, alongside something which may have been a vegetarian option but was unidentifiable, again being so dried out. All in all the only thing I can say is get your act together, the choice of two meats and overcooked or not available veg at 6pm is not acceptable. Easily resolved for me though, I won't be back for some time.

"Good location, decent accomodation"
MarkGodwin, 20 Juillet 2018

Good parking and only 5 minute walk to town centre. Friendly helpful staff. Clean, spacious and tidy rooms, although the decor could do with updating (got a definite 70s feel). Restaurant and bar are tidy and comfy with good prices (although again 70s feeling decor). The room was front of house with large windows, but I understand some rooms are internal with little or no daylight.

"Good and Friendly Hotel In Newmarket"
Carol S, 18 Juillet 2018

This is a good hotel with ample parking right in the centre of Newmarket. Single room was very clean and well equipped and also hadh really good tea bags (which is very important obviously :) ). The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Cheryl and Debbie on Reception. Breakfast was good too. I always stay here when I come in the Newmarket and am very happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Newmarket.

"stay"
Liam S, 24 Juin 2018

can't fault hotel room was enormous clean and comfortable.. breakfast very good will stay again.bar area clean and comfortable asked for a taxi receptionist booked one straight away for us all staff we dealt with were very pleasant.

"Lovely food and helpful staff"
BirdyG52, 24 Juin 2018

We were upgraded to a lovely large room with a good sized bathroom and all the expected facilities in the room. Breakfast was fine - a hot buffet selection was regularly topped up, though I would have liked mushrooms on the menu. Food in the restaurant and bar was really good; a varied choice, well-cooked and presented. An excellent selection of gins! The staff were approachable and friendly but not in-your-face. They all seemed happy and I think that is often a mark of a good hotel. There were some young trainee staff and the other staff really seemed to take care of them, especially the ones in the restaurant at breakfast. Would recommend this hotel.

"Room without a view"
ScottySouthShields, 22 Juin 2018

A good central hotel. My room looked onto a corridor, quite stuffy regardless of AC - don't book those. Food was good and the staff we met were friendly. Bar and lounge comfortable. Plenty of parking.

"Good Location"
Graham S, 12 Juin 2018

Located near the centre of Newmarket with the High Street just a short walk away. I didn't the warmest of welcomes but check in was quick and easy. I agree with other reviews hotels is a little dated but the room was clean and spacious with complimentary hot drink facilities provided and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was buffet style with the option to order various extras.with tea and coffee was freshly brewed. Hotel has free Wifi and free parking with was plentiful. .

"Amazing Staff"
Emma L, 02 Juin 2018

I stayed here with friends Friday 1st June and don't think I've ever been to a hotel, where every member of staff were so good. They were extremely helpful, very polite, friendly and professional. When we came downstairs for a drink and mentioned the room was warm, they immediately sent someone upstairs to put the air conditioning on (we hadn't realised we had any!) And wow the room was so cool. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had been refurbished to a very high standard. The bedroom was a little dated, but more than comfortable. I didn't get the name of any of the staff, but the lady on reception (Friday night) is a credit to your team, the bar staff, night porter and team in the restaurant were all outstanding as well. I worked in hospitality for 16 years, so I know a great team when I see them. The breakfast in the morning was very good, great selection and perfectly cooked poached eggs. Every detail has been well thought out, down to the mini milk bottle served with my coffee. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Perfect for anyone interested in racing."
lupc0, 01 Juin 2018

We went to Newmarket to see the horses work on the Heath. The Best Western is handy to town so was easy to walk through town before dinner. It is about 50 yards from the Heath where a lot of horses work every morning. Our bedroom overlooked a training stable. The bedroom was wonderful with 2 double beds in the main room and a single bed in the adjoining room. The bathroom was big and worked very well.We had a very nice dinner and a substantial breakfast. The whole ambience of the hotel impressed us.And a carpark.Would stay there again every time.

"Great location for the town centre, need to specify a quiet room"
Kim K, 29 Mai 2018

Friendly staff and an upgraded room, which was very large and had both a double and single bed. It was an exceptionally hot day and the radiators were left on with heavy duvets so it was a little uncomfortable through the night. We enjoyed our stay but my father in law had a disturbed night with rowdy fellow guests shouting & Smoking on the fire escape near his room until 3am in the morning. Saying that it is value for money, clean rooms, if a little tired but a nice lounge and very good breakfast.

"Racing weekend"
celia k, 21 Mai 2018

Booked this hotel for race day after unsatisfactory stay at another hotel in the area.Lovely stay great location would recommend and return. staff very helpful and friendly. Good choice tasty breakfast. Room was very comfy.

"Competition prize "
kimbally, 18 Mai 2018

We stayed at Heath Court Hotel last night as part of a prize we won through the racecourse. From the moment we checked in we were treated so brilliantly. The staff were all lovely and made us feel so welcome. We found out we were in the Rowley Mile Suite which was fantastic. Although the decor is dated, the room was immaculate and there was even a bottle of bubbly waiting for us. The room was spacious and had a good sized TV. They had kindly set up a comfy single bed for our toddler. The little extras in the room (dressing gowns, toiletries, fridge etc) really made it feel extra special, as did the kind card from the manager. The bar staff were extremely helpful getting milk for my son and so friendly too. Breakfast was again really well presented and the whole restaurant area was clean and relaxing. We will definitely book to stay here with family who often travel from London for the racing. Thanks for a great visit.

"Lunch"
Maura B, 16 Mai 2018

Another lovely carvery. Again the dining room was full and a coach party expected. A choice of two meats, Lots of vegetables. A vegetarian and a fish dish. The beef was melt in the mouth, and my friend enjoyed her pork. Great staff and they had a few students on work experience who were delightful. Definitely on my regular lunch venue.

"GREAT FOR RACE DAYS AND NIGHTS!"
Flying_Demon, 06 Mai 2018

I have stayed at the Heath Court hotel on a couple of occasions when visiting Newmarket, the hotel is located a stones throw from the gallops and the lively town centre. The rooms I have stayed in have been large suites, nicely appointed and spotlessly clean albeit the decor may be considered slightly dated by some. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast offering is of a very good standard. Recommended and would certainly stay again.

"Great hotel and location"
JOSHUA J, 02 Mai 2018

We stayed at Newmarket and really enjoyed the hotel. A lot of BW hotels in England are old mansions. This was an actual hotel, which was nice. The breakfast was great and there's quick access to town.

"Right at the end of the gallops"
deecarey2016, 20 Avril 2018

Stayed here with a friend the night before going on a Discover Newmarket tour. Hotel is ideally located for the gallops and also the centre of town for all its amenities also not far to travel to the National Stud.

"Long term guest"
Maximus55, 30 Mars 2018

I stayed at the Heath Court during the working week for nearly a year. The team could not have been more helpful, the service was always first class and the accommodation extremely comfortable. The only (very minor) criticisms are the hotel is a little dated in appearance and the piped music never changes but this is far outweighed by all the other positives. I hope to be back soon.

"Not Bad"
Mark M, 26 Mars 2018

Pleasant bar area & restaurant if a bit dated. Staff very nice & friendly. Situated right in Newmarket with decent free parking. Room a bit odd with window facing in to a corridor. Bedroom quite small & a bit dated but bathroom surprisingly big & modern.

"Disappointing dinner "
puppies105, 15 Mars 2018

Staff mixed. Some more knowledgeable than others. Food was very average and over priced for the quality of it. Certainly wouldn't return as felt the whole experience was Decidedly average. Toilet had paper towels overflowing from the bin.

"Conveniently placed hotel near the High Street in Newmarket"
Pamela D, 27 Février 2018

This hotel is within easy walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants in Newmarket. We went for the weekend and really enjoyed our time there - it was February and not at race time so was quiet - I can imagine that when a meeting is on its a bit busier! The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast is as expected in a hotel but was perfectly adequate and well cooked. As vegetarians we didn't rate the restaurant menu much so ate out which was easy to do. There is a very good Indian (Muntaz) nearby and a lovely Mexican restaurant too (El Guaca) - both within very easy walking distance. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet (with good double glazing) and the internet connection was 'solid' (no dropping off). We really enjoyed our weekend break at this hotel which provided good value for money.

"Good hotel"
13Si-Sharon13, 26 Février 2018

Very nice large room very cleaning &everything functioning as it should do. Not a briloiant looking building from the outside but totally the opposite inside, very well appointed & comfortable. Good bar, didt habe an eveing meal here but eth breakfast was excellent.

"Lovely Hotel"
LJF93, 10 Février 2018

Lovely hotel in the centre of Newmarket with the High Street in walking distance and Race Course a short drive away. Friendly welcoming upon arrival with checkin quick and easy. The room was clean and spacious with complimentary hot drink facilities. The breakfast service was buffet style but with the option to order certain extras. Tea and coffee was freshly brewed. Free Wifi and lots of free parking. Very comfortable stay in a lovely hotel.

helen19675, 08 Février 2018

Stayed for 1 night as a business traveler Arrived after a long drive. Lovely welcome, acknowledged my BW Rewards . Allocated a large room, on 2nd floor. Room could do with some upkeep, but very clean, everything functioning, warm, lovely view of the hose training areas, nice bathroom *movable shower would be a benefit)and very cosy bed. Room also quiet so i enjoyed a good night sleep. Had dinner in the restaurant, very good service, tasty food. Breakfast was also lovely, fresh eggs and good choice. Check out speedy, efficient and friendly Would stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting the area

"Ok Hotel in Newmarket"
Steve J, 08 Février 2018

I stayed for 1 night last week, the room allocated was clean and tidy, just seemed to be like one of the American motels you see on TV. Reception was very helpful when checking in. Parking was also good, as sometimes it can be an issue in Newmarket. Service in the restaurant could have been better, nothing wrong with the speed of service or anything like that, I just seemed like the waitress was not really enjoying her job (maybe had a bad day) the food was good.

"Lunch"
Maura B, 02 Février 2018

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with a friend.....a Carvery during the week My friend had the Pork and I had the Beef. Both meats were melt in the mouth. There was a choice of vegetables.. From the warm greeting the service, the food. It was a most enjoyable experience. The restaurant was busy but the staff were great, making sure that we had all that we needed. The dessert of Apple and Rhubarb crumble with Custard was delicious It is a definite must for a carvery. Would definitely recommend it and will be going back. My friend said she too would return. The staff ordered our Taxi when it was time to leave. A lovely touch.

"Great base for a few days in Newmarket"
Caroline G, 29 Janvier 2018

I stayed for 2 nights with friends in October. We booked a room overlooking Sir Mark Prescotts yard and loved hearing the clip clop of hooves and seeing the horses going up to the gallops as the sun came up. The room was clean, a bit dated but a great central location and fantastic value as it came with 2 double beds and a single in a separate room. Breakfast was great, loads of choice. The public areas downstairs had obviously been refurbed recently and looked great. If going to the races take the free shuttle bus from outside the electrical shop on the high street..

"Excellent hotel with great food"
steveL185UR, 28 Janvier 2018

Visited this quiet central Newmarket hotel for an AGM with our trade stand. The staff were incredible helpful and the carvery meal of roast beef and pork was superb. The room for the meeting was bright and airy and members of staff were always not far away to help with issues such as room temperature and lighting levels. Access to the meeting room was great as you can park just outside one of the access doors to move items in and out easily.

"New Year's Eve party"
sheilascrystals2017, 01 Janvier 2018

We stayed for the first time at this lovely hotel. It's right nr the centre of Newmarket. The staff were so brilliant they all went out of there way to make sure we were comfortable and saw to everything for us Being Gluten free and a New Year's Eve party with a set menu I was more than surprised to have everything that everyone else had but in Gluten Free. The only exception was the sausages at breakfast. And there are Newmarket gluten free ones.

"New Year Party"
malclrichardson, 01 Janvier 2018

Great hotel. Had a fantastic New Year Evening. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good 5 course evening meal and breakfast. Room was very large, clean and tidy. Could not have asked for more. Highly recommended for a 3 star hotel.

"Pay more, get less!"
Jim B, 28 Novembre 2017

Shocking would probably be the best way to sum up my stay here…. I paid for a supposedly better room than a friend, as I opted for a room that didn't have an internal view of a corridor…. Imagine my disappointment at paying nearly double the rate, and upon visiting my friend's room saw that his was nearly three times the size of mine….! I'm not sure how the hotel operates their policy – it seems the more you pay the less you get and the worse you get treated. Upon checking out I wasn't asked if everything was OK with my stay (I would have thought this question is reasonably standard practice in any service industry), so I offered my opinion on the issue of cost vs room received and wasn't really offered a suitable explanation by Louise the Duty Manager, she didn't even say sorry! When Robert the Manager phoned me to follow up on the complaint the explanation wasn't sufficient, he mentioned something about Best Western Rewards being the reason for my friend getting a room 3 times the size of mine, but couldn't explain why he had booked the cheapest room possible yet ended up in a room better than mine. He didn't seem at all interested in offering any sort of solution – he had a very much couldn't care less attitude. The bar wasn't too badly priced however both the beer and spirits were incredibly watered down so I wouldn't bother drinking there if you do have to stay. Breakfast was rather tasty however vegetarian options were lacking and a couple of sausages took about 20 minutes to arrive. Overall, if you have to stay here my best advice is book the cheapest possible room and you'll probably end up in a suite, anything else is money wasted!

"Business Trip"
Robert E, 08 Novembre 2017

Arrived to a pleasant welcome from the receptionist. Provided with the key and a description of where the room was located. Made my way to the room (46) a really large and spacious room. Unpacked and started to settle in. Switched on the TV to find the remote did not work very well so contacted reception and within a few minutes a young man came up tried to sort the problem out, couldn't, so he disappeared and moments later came back with another TV complete with remote which worked perfectly...great! The bathroom was large, large deep bath with overhead shower, clean, with soft towels and plenty of soap, shampoo and shower gel. My only observation was, that the sink plug was jammed, and after using the sink I could not drain/empty the sink. Spoke to reception the next morning and this was rectified immediately. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows a warm clean duvet and a comfortable mattress. The room was provided with the usual requirements of tea, coffee, milk and some biscuits. Furthermore, dressing robes are provided free of charge and there is a very good WiFi service, again free of charge. I stayed for two nights and ate in the restaurant for all of my meals. Breakfast was very good and comprised of; bacon, sausages, eggs (scrambled, fried, etc) hash browns, fried bread, beans, toast (white and brown) marmalade, jams, chocolate sauces and honey, etc. They also served a continental breakfast of fruit, yogurts, croissants, etc. The only downside to my stay was finding my room door open on my return from working all day. This concerned me a great deal as I had quite a lot of items, tablet, clothing etc which were not secure and which could have been removed without anybody having knowledge. I reported to reception my disappointment and received a guarantee that the issue would be looked into and apologies were given and accepted. Would I stay again? Yes! My thanks to all of the staff for their attentions and professionalism.

"If you are in Newmarket overnight, stay at this hotel"
Muneharu O, 04 Novembre 2017

I and my clients from Japan stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and found no major problems. If you need to stay in Newmarket, this hotel is definitely one of the best picks. The only downsides were the start of breakfast did not meet our plat (we had to skip it three out of four days) and seating facilities at the reception area were insufficient (there was only one-person sofa) so we had to wait for other members to come down standing. Other necessary items were satisfactory.

"Dog Friendly rooms!"
Vicky B, 03 Novembre 2017

The Heath Court Hotel accepts dogs at the discretion of the duty manager. How fantastic that was. Dogs are not allowed in the bar or restaurant. The hotel is virtually next to the Gallops, where the race horses from Newmarket stables are exercised each morning from 07.00-13.00. After that the area is open to the public and their dogs, thanks to the Jockey Club. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. All of them made a fuss of our two black labs. There always seemed to be staff around and the Manageress was very friendly and approachable. Our room was clean and warm and more than adequate for our two night stay. The housekeeper wanted to clean after just one night, and offered to top-up the tea making stuff and toiletries. The room, (room 25) although not huge, was big enough for our two dog beds on the floor and the bathroom was a good size. The shower was ample and hot and there were nice big towels. Our window looked over the Heath House stables but had restrictors on so we couldn't open it more than a couple of inches. H&S I guess. In the foyer of the hotel there were some trophies and the staff told us that the owner of the hotel owns the horse that won them. Look out for them if you stay! One thing we did notice is that some rooms have windows that face into the corridor, rather than facing the outside world. Beware because you can see into the rooms through the nets. OK for exhibitionists I suppose. Just check this out when booking. All in all a great stay.

"Perfect location for racing fans!"
Alison A, 19 Octobre 2017

The Heath Court Hotel is in the perfect location for visitors staying in Newmarket for the horse racing. Both race courses are within easy reach and the famous Warren Hill Gallops are 2mins walk away. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming too :-)

"Nice Comfy hotel"
Martyn P, 18 Octobre 2017

We had to travel to Newmarket for a family event and booked into the Heath Court Hotel, parking spaces were ample and we'll laid out.Upon entering the hotel we were given a warm greeting and very helpful receptionist. We went to our room and before we unpacked we found our toilet was not working.Without any fuss as soon as i informed the hotel staff the manageress was with us to help us move rooms as it was too late in the day to repair the offending toilet. Our second room was a lot bigger than the first, which was very pleasing. From our new room we had a view of the gallops and if you get up early enough you can see the thoroughbred horses riding out in the gallops as the are at least three stables in the local vicinity of the Heath Court. The room we had was clean and very light an airy as the window ran nearly the full length of one side of the room. The air conditioning was a really nice facility to have and worked very well. Also in the room was a flatscreen TV,free WiFi,trouser press, hairdryer and for me best of all a tassimo coffee maker just like the one I have at home. The location of this Hotel is very close to the main high street of Newmarket, well within easy walking distance if you need to explore. We enjoyed our brief stay at the Heath Court and would stay again. I will end this review with a final tip.Don't put your hotel keycard next to your mobile phone as your mobile wipes the information on the card as I found out, however the hotel manageress who was really good at her job was so nice and understanding with my clumsiness.

"Visiting Newmarket"
franspeople, 17 Octobre 2017

Hotel staff are fabulous, friendly and professional. Bar area is great and drinks list is really good and varied. However don't go anywhere near Room 33, anyone who uses any water in that area of the hotel goes through a pump in your bathroom. Expect to be kept up all night.......and not for the right reasons.... The shower has no power either and was impossible to use as is from a mixer tap so we had to resort to a bath in the (avocado coloured) bath in the morning. We booked direct and for £110 for the night this particular room was way over priced. We checked in late and therefore understand that this may have been the last room in the hotel due to it being such an important meet at the racecourse. (However we booked the room in March). Our friends who we travelled with got an ‘upgrade' and were very happy with their room. The hotel and its staff are certainly up to scratch, my husband did mention our thoughts on the particular room when we checked out. The rating is based purely on the room we were allocated.

"Carvery Lunch At Heath Court Hotel"
KitsChelmsford, 16 Octobre 2017

Absolutely fantastic.Staff were so friendly, food and choice, excellent. Go to many carvery's but this one in Newmarket if visiting , a Must. Barbara (Chelmsford,Essex) Perhaps another time on another occassion, try actual stop over in hotel.

"Lunch"
lynne70110, 07 Octobre 2017

We booked lunch for six friends.Served by Sarah, she was very helpful and a delight to talk too. We are going to book again for next month to bring more friends for lunch. It is such a relaxing places, we are also working up for Christmas .

"Small Rooms"
975Billingham, 04 Octobre 2017

The room was small, just enough space to walk around the bath. The Bed was hard and there was a large gap in the bottom of the door that let light in. The only saving grace was breakfast - which was a good help yourself buffet. Given the price that was paid disappointing would be a word to describe this hotel.

"Back to the 70s"
Anthony L, 26 Septembre 2017

booked a night here whilst on business , room was quite small , comfortable bed and clean bathroom however the only thing missing was an avacado bathroom suite then the place would have been genuinely period 1970 , wall paper peeling from walls , plastic trunking adorning the walls , bashed and odd wall lights and furniture that brought a tear to my eye and an lcd tv with a screen smaller than an average laptop

"Great Hotel"
450pat, 21 Septembre 2017

We booked through a booking agency and were given a room without windows, which we had not booked. We complained, they apologised, and we were moved and upgraded to a lovely superior room which was fabulous. Staff couldn't have been nicer about the mix up. A great plus was the fan in the room, which with open windows, and the fan, made the room a nice temperature to sleep. Food was excellent as was the service. There was a mix up about our breakfast, but we sorted it and managed to go to see the race horses gallop on the Heath and then have our breakfast, Breakfast offered a self service bar, with full English to Continental. Lots of great food. Loved this hotel, and will be back.

"Very good"
norfolk621, 04 Septembre 2017

My sister a friend and I stayed here for the weekend. Had a very warm welcome form the receptionist on our arrival. We had booked a family room which was very large and bright. The bathroom was lovely and big. The hotel is very close to the main street and the gallops to watch the horses. A very good choice of breakfast. Highly recommend and would stay here again. Thank you to all the staff.

"Great Sunday carvery"
fisunflower, 03 Septembre 2017

We popped in here on the off chance of getting a Sunday lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The carvery was great we were given plenty of meat and helped ourselves to everything else . It was very tasty .

"Modern hotel"
MeSteveKB, 29 Août 2017

Modern hotel with ample parking within walking distance of the middle of Newmarket. The hotels looks modern but the wallpaper in our room was peeling at the seams. The building is of strange design such that the only window in our room looked out into a corridor. Very efficient and well-controllable air conditioning was needed on the hottest August Bank Holiday in years and it was quiet so did not disturb my sleep. Buffet breakfast. Evening meal was excellent. Roast fillet of cod cooked to perfection and a lovely New Zealand wine to go with it. First class staff all very friendly and helpful.

"Good location for Newmarket Race Days"
Sue3033, 28 Août 2017

Booked this hotel as it was a good location for the racing, the prices are extremely high on race days, but we had a superior room, and it was really nice and very spacious. The staff are really friendly and the hotel is very clean, the bar area is nicely furnished and cooked breakfast was lovely.

"Great location for racing"
stevewilks2017, 19 Août 2017

We booked the Best Western as we wanted a good location for the racing. We were not disappointed. It is very convenient for the courtesy bus service. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We decided to take the evening meal at the hotel and despite the main restaurant being hired out for a function we were served in the bar. The food was very good. Our room was excellent.

"Ready for renovation but did the job"
GeorgieBillie, 06 Août 2017

Booked this hotel as we had a weekend away booked at the races! The hotel is not as neat the races as I was expecting but well located for town! Room was very average - definitely ready for modernisation (probably was about 20 years ago if I'm honest)! The rooms are down long corridors and in little batches of 3 (undersant this used to be a nursing home) - when the room next door came in at 3am I jumped out my skin thinking it was my door it was that loud! I guess the hotel did the job but I would expect more from a best western to be honest Great location for the gallops though and loved watching the godolphin horses Saturday morning

"Comfortable hotel, convenient for Newmarket town and races"
Jenni E, 06 Août 2017

The hotel has ample parking. The reception staff are helpful. Our room was spacious and the bed was large and comfortable although we had booked a superior room. The Breakfast was not included in the price so we used the Weathersoon's in the high street which is a short walk. If you are visiting the races this hotel is perfect

"Ok but sure there must be better options lacks an attentive eye"
dawn h, 02 Août 2017

The hotel states that you can check in at any time which was a plus as we would arrive mid morning and need to change before going to a function. On arrival we checked in relatively quickly but were surprised when we got to the room and found the door wedged open with dirty laundry. We spoke to the cleaner who picked up the sheets and towels saying she had just finished in there. As we looked further we had to contact her again as no clean towels were left. This in all took about half hour to sort not a great start we were not in long before leaving for the function so it was not until we returned that night we realised the next problem. The door to our room and the next one were so close that whenever they opened or closed their door it sounded like someone trying to get into our room. The room was fairly comfortable once you got used to the noise from adjacent rooms and as it was a one night stay we put up with it. Also the rooms are down a windy narrow warren of corridors with a small lift that is quite slow. Good location for centre of town but not as near to race course as we were led to believe. Staff are polite but lack warmth.

"Not great but would stay again..."
Bethany L, 31 Juillet 2017

So on arrival it's not very easy on the eye. The entrance and bar area is really nice and well decorated. Once you reach the sleeping spaces it all goes down hill with a musty smell everywhere and very dated and tired decor. It's needs refurbishment badly. The staff are fab however, so helpful and friendly. In our room our shower and taps would not turn off and we had to get someone to come and do it and they came up within two minutes of asking for help and the same when we needed toilet roll. The location is great for the town but will need a taxi to the racecourse which the hotel will organise for you and costs about £9. The massive bonus for us was the view from our window. We were at the back of the hotel and it overlooked a stables and gallops so we woke up able to see the horses being exercised which we particularly loved so this made the stay. We would stay again however.

"A Day at the Stables!"
883bobber, 29 Juillet 2017

Stayed one night at Heath Court while we visited Sir Mark Prescott's racing yard next door. We had drinks, dinner and breakfast and were looked after really very well. The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful to a fault. The food was very good and our room was fine - nice and clean with decent facilities. I would be happy to recommend Heath Court to anyone - well done!

"Comfortable hotel with very attentive staff"
Ian S, 26 Juillet 2017

I stayed here for two nights in a single room which had a window into an internal corridor which was a bit strange. However, the air conditioning worked well and the room was OK although the decor was a little tired. The shower was not much more than a trickle. Breakfast was very good with whatever you wanted cooked to order.

"Excellent Stay"
LizzieWheel, 26 Juillet 2017

Had an amazing stay at this hotel for the July Cup in Newmarket. The room was more than adequate and the staff could not have been more friendly. We were told we could not check in until 2.00 pm but we arrived around 12 and was told our room was ready. The breakfast was especially good with more than enough choice and all freshly prepared. It was ideally situated in Newmarket just off the High Street, where the buses shuttle you too and from the racetrack. Would we stay again - we have already booked for next year.

"Very nice stay after a day at the races"
Deacopop, 19 Juillet 2017

We arrived early and they already had a room ready, a pleasant tea & coffee then a G&T in the bar and we left for the races. We returned early evening and had a couple of Pink Gins which was different and refreshing. The room was more than what was needed, good comfy bed, bathroom and a view looking out over the stables next door. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and service was good along with quality food and drinks. the stay at the hotel made the day at the races into a wonderful weekend, we will do it again.

"Nice stay"
norfolkhero, 17 Juillet 2017

Stayed here whilst visiting the races, the stay was fine rooms are a bit tried and need updating ...breakfast was very good .. Slept ok we did have noise the petrol station adjacent but not the hotels fault ...

"Over priced needs updating"
Sylvia A, 06 Juillet 2017

We booked for a three day break to meet up with old friends we booked a deluxe room it needs decorating room was very large not very inviting bathroom was ok but needed revamp the bath panel was cracked and some tiles needed attention it's quite dangerous stepping into the bath for a shower The corridor had a ceiling panel out Staff where not very helpful when you wanted more milk in the room We had a dog and we were only allow to sit at one table in the bar it was far to cold to sit outside We found when we question a bar bill about the price the girl who serviced us came out to challenge us about it it was so rude overall a average stay would not go again rather disappointing also car parking a nightmare!!

"Don't judge a book by its cover is very apt!"
Travelseeker2014, 01 Juillet 2017

Pulling into the carpark you don't get the best impression of this hotel, tight carpark, quite a tired and dated building. My expectation so we're not too high for this hotel. However the colleagues at reception were helpful and friendly. The bar area was spacious and clean. The room I had was a huge double. Whilst the decor was slightly dated, the room was very clean and cosy. The bed was comfy, there was a nice sofa. The bathroom was really clean and the shower was good. Plenty of toiletries were provided. It was very hot when I stayed and a fan had been provided in the room. The hotel is also in a great location for the town centre. Overall I was really won over and absolutely stay here again.

"Improving all the time"
Guy L, 27 Juin 2017

We have stayed and used the meeting rooms at Heath Court since 2008. It has improved hugely over that time. It is still not perfect, on hot days some meeting rooms are not air conditioned, but the staff are always very helpful, the food much better and even parking seems to be easier. And the Wifi works all the time now!

"A Mixed Review"
Forrester42, 12 Juin 2017

I had to check out early dues to the fact I could barely breathe in my room and felt so unwell. There was a fan provided and I had my own Dyson fan but they did not make much difference. In saying that, the staff here is fantastic and offered me alternative rooms but I felt so ill I decided to leave early. The lovely housekeeper informed me that rooms are being refurbished to include air conditioning so this should be a huge improvement in warm weather. The hotel has internal rooms (these have air conditioning) but they are very small. These would be too cramped for me but I am guessing they are the coolest rooms in the house. I was in a standard room, also small and badly ventilated. I was shown a family sized room and this was much more spacious so if you are booking, I would definitely go for this room. I did not see a superior room but I believe that they would be worth the money. Staff is friendly and helpful here and I would contact the hotel and discuss your room requirements before booking to ensure you get the correct room size for your needs.

"World War II Reunion"
803sandy, 11 Juin 2017

Lacks a decent view, but it is located close to shops, pubs and horses within easy walking distance. Restaurant is small, but adequate serving tasty ample portions. Large, clean rooms, comfortable beds. I prefer separate sink and shower areas to permit multiple people to get dressed and ready more easily. Main problem - a half shower door- no matter how hard we tried, we could not shower without getting water all over the floor. Also, there is nowhere to place the bath towel near the shower and keep it dry without first getting out of the shower.

"Disappointed "
Pauline C, 26 Mai 2017

We had pre-booked our food as we were a party and to say we were disappointed is actually an understatement the chips were hard and cold, the fish batter was soggy and uncooked, the burgers were very dry and every other dish appeared to have a problem Deserts were OK although a pre-ordered one was not to be found so a replacement came in the guise of a crumble.....it was left over fruit from other deserts with some granola cereal on top...and to top it all the service was very hit and mostly miss. An expensive night never to be repeated or recommend Seriously give it a miss

"Disappointed "
Jeffyeo, 24 Mai 2017

Stayed at the best Western Newmarket on 22nd June, for one night only. As a frequent stayer of best Western hotels. I'm a diamond reward card holder. I am usually extremely satisfied with the accommodation offered. The room was very small, drab and dirty. The upside, the bathroom was very nice.

"Refreshing stay"
Coachman01, 16 Mai 2017

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this hotel and found it to have changed little. Again booking in was painless and completed with the minimum of fuss, Our room was as hoped for, spacious and pleasant with all the usual amenities. As we arrived on a Sunday dinner was restricted to the carvery. The choice was to our liking and very substantial. The service was attentive and friendly. Check out was carried out with minimum of fuss, our bill being fully explained, unlike some establishments who hand over the account leaving the recipient to work out its accuracy.

"Not great."
samloucam, 04 Mai 2017

Food was awful, I had the steak and mushroom pie which I couldn't eat at the meat was so chewy, no flavour at all, chips are standard dry over chips. Ok for a place to stay but won't be eating the food again.

"Best Sunday Carvery"
1Relaxedtraveller65, 27 Avril 2017

We went to this hotel for Sunday lunch and were definitely not disappointed. From first entering the hotel to our leaving the experience was superb. We were shown to our table by a very pleasant young lady who took our order ion a most friendly & professional manner. As we were having the Carvery Lunch we were served our meat/fish by a friendly helpful chef and the, of course, helped ourselves to the vegetables. All food was of the highest quality, well cooked & plentiful. Dessert was served on completion of our meal, again plenty of choice, delicious & reasonably priced. The meal we enjoyed has to rate as one of the best Carvery meals we have ever tasted. Superb, keep up the good work, we will certainly revisit next time we are in the area.

"Very pleasant stay"
squires19, 24 Avril 2017

Stayed for two nights. All of the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Had room at back of hotel on second floor. Believe it was a refurbished room and very pleasant. Good breakfast in the restaurant.

"As always. Perfect Stay"
Jon S, 13 Avril 2017

Booked here again as I always do when down here in the area. Again, pleasant arrival, stay & departure experience. Spotlessly clean hotel & areas. Parking for plenty available & safe parking. Rooms are excellent sized with nice toiletries, Tassimo machine as well as tea, coffe & chocolate etc. Beds & pillows to die for & quiet rooms with good heating & air conditioning.. Fabulous breakfast with nice fresh coffee & even fried bread! You cant go wrong here & there is some painting & modernisation happening which does not impact on your stay.

"Everthing I needed..."
UkJammin, 02 Avril 2017

I stayed at the Best Western Heath Court for 2 nights whist working in Newmarket with some colleagues. Check-in was very friendly and efficient and I was soon in my room. There's been a bit of decorating going on so the room numbers are on the floor rather than on the doors which makes finding the rooms a little difficult at first! They layout is rather odd in that there are groups of 3 rooms in corridors off a main corridor (I read the building was originally a residential home so that would make sense). Once inside, the room was quite small - I had to close the door to walk around the bed - and it was extremely hot, even with the radiator turned off. (There was an air conditioning unit which worked well but was really noisy so I had to turn it off to sleep) The bathroom was a good size with a shower over the bath which was nice and powerful and maintained the same temperature. My colleague and I ate in the hotel on one night and we found the service rather brusque initially but I think that was due to a lack of staff rather than anything else. There was quite a varied menu and the food we had was very nice. (The 2nd night we went to the Indian across the road which was absolutely excellent!) Breakfast is also served in the main restaurant and there's a good section of hot and cold food - including eggs cooked to order, which always gets a thumbs-up from me as someone who loves poached eggs! Were I looking to stay in Newmarket again, I think I would consider staying here, rather than at the Premier Inn almost opposite, just for a bit of character although it would definitely come down to the room rate!

"Comfortable in winter!!"
Shirley C, 31 Mars 2017

The receptionist was very helpful when she was found. We had an upgrade free and the room was clean large and comfortable. As we were at the back it was fairly quiet. The bed was comfortable and had a very heavy quilt. It was far too heavy for us even with the heating turned off. We twice requested a lighter one but was told that was the only one they had. I would definitely not stay in summer. The bathroom was large and we had lots of lovely towels and bath goodies. The fire alarm went off twice once in the night. No one new why!

"Xmas Family Meak"
Russell B, 12 Mars 2017

For the last 3 years we got there at Xmas as have so many mouths to feed. Easy to book in advance, staff very welcoming, the food is delicious all fresh carvery with the chief cutting the cooked meat in front of you. Highly recommended also great for events

"Nice venue"
Darbs9172, 22 Février 2017

Stayed in this hotel a while back and was impressed. I was upgraded to a hugeeeeeee room, think it must have been my charm and I was overly impressed. Upon walking into the bar, I was approached by this most beautiful looking lady I have ever seen...Sarah Voss. Wow! She left me speechless and I struggled to order a drink because of such. Has to be one of the worlds most beautiful women.

"Good value for money and helpful staff"
CourtneyGY, 19 Février 2017

The staff were very welcoming and quick to assist with any queries. Good selection at breakfast, although like other guests, we weren't too keen on the lose-leaf tea. Overall very good value for money and an enjoyable stay.

"Great Christmas lunch"
KenMaideheadUK, 25 Novembre 2016

We stopped here for lunch with a coach party on our way to Norwich. We had a great welcome. The dining room is pleasant and well furnished. We had a carvery Christmas lunch. There was a choice of beef or turkey with an excellent selection of vegetables. The meal was superb and was followed by as choice of desserts and coffee. Can't say what the accommodation is like but, if this is the standard of the meals served it is well worth staying here.

"Good, comfortable stay"
Tom B, 22 Novembre 2016

Stayed for two nights whilst on a course in Newmarket in November. Comfortable stay, breakfast was cooked whilst I waited the first morning (as I was the only one there!) and good buffet second morning. Very quiet, lovely views out onto the gallops. Slightly run down, however good parking and well priced. Thank you

"did the job"
malmerc, 01 Novembre 2016

tried several hotels in newmarket, this one has been the best so far. small but comfortable room with everything thats needed for an overnight stay. very clean all round, wardrobe a bit tatty.we had dinner in the bar area as the restraunt was full. we still had very good service and a very enjoyable meal. all the staff were very polite and helpfull.

"An overnight stay"
Ian B, 12 Octobre 2016

This is a hotel which overall delivers what you need for an overnight stay. There are a number of issues associated with noise between rooms, however the stay was ok. Pleasant but that's all. The room was small and bathroom accessories were limited.

"rooms"
Martyn B, 10 Octobre 2016

our double room was on the small side.the décor was tired, with some of the wallpaper peeling off.bathroom was fine.cleanliness of the room was very average and it had no window for us to open as it was on the inside of the building,so the window looked onto a corridor.very disappointed for the price we paid

"Trip to the races."
Martyn C, 09 Octobre 2016

We have stayed in a number of hotels and B&B's in the town and this year we stayed at Heath Court. We had 2 rooms, a twin and a single (4 & 7). Both rooms were very adequate for a decent nights stop for 3 days at the races. The twin room was a lovely size with a double and a single bed. The single room bed was lovely and comfortable. Both bathrooms were good and clean. Air con great in both. The breakfast was good with a help yourself cooked breakfast, cereals and toasts. Car parking was easy with plenty of spaces. Location close to Warren Hill gallops for an early morning stroll was just want we wanted. Overall some parts of the hotel need a little modernisation but this is ongoing as some parts have been done already. But it's clean and tidy with helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again.

"Small & Tired Looking Room"
Chris E, 06 Octobre 2016

Great quick no fuss booking in experience. Treated really well by duty manager. Very good sandwich and pint! However, room very poor value for money... £86.00. Very small and over used, no outside window, carpets soiled badly, damp and corroded skirting board, door had a vicious return spring that nearly locked me out, not a comfortable night's sleep, lot of noise from corridor and early risers, electrics very poorly organised obviously cheaply fitted. On the plus side - en suite well appointed and bright.

"Races "
Vici P, 05 Octobre 2016

Two night stay on second visit to Newmarket! Really couldn't fault this place-no silly raceday price -central location-booked double but were given a family room -it was huge! Bathroom was bigger than the bedroom and en suite combined of the last place we stayed (The crown rooms-don't bother!). Lovely and clean, beds were beautifully made and looked luxurious ! sky sports, horse racing channels and full freeview on a large tv in the room. I slept very well but my boyfriend did find the bed too soft on first night as he suffers with his back-I took the mattress topper off the second night and he said it was much better so an easy fix! Staff were very friendly and nothing too much trouble. We didn't include breakfast when booking but needed to eat before races so paid the extra (not cheap but on par with other hotels). Always dubious about buffet breakfasts but this was really lovely -a choice of eggs which the chef comes out of the kitchen to freshly prepare for you. The one negative I can think of is that our room looked out onto a brick wall lol thought I'd mention as some people might find that a problem. However ,it didn't bother us in the slightest! We didn't stay for the view! You would do well to beat this place -will definitely go back! Highly recommended!

"High pitch noise in room"
svorster, 03 Octobre 2016

Disgusting high pitched noise causing earache and migraine. The poor receptionist tried to explain it was a kitchen fan. They had no other room available and my car was the only other option. Never again Once the kitchen fan was off there was a humming sound which none could be done about

"Racing Trip"
J2065ZLstephenb, 03 Octobre 2016

Stay at this hotel regularly and never had a problem on this occasion In room 37 I was near the lift which there was some noise and I found the mattress too soft spoke to a member of staff who said they would check the mattress. As always the hotel was very clean and I had very good service from the staff good breakfast great location near warren hill gallops I will stay here next time but ask for a room away from the lift.

"Staff Room and value for money"
Roy L, 29 Septembre 2016

On my arrival I was meet by a smiling friendly face at reception and check in was very smooth and I was asked if I needed a hand with luggage which I get asked often. When I got up to my room 17 was very clean and the bathroom was also spotless. in the room was mugs for tea.coffee with a good selection of Biscuits. On my departure the system was very smooth overall a great experience.

"Frayed around the edges"
Avisius2, 27 Septembre 2016

For the price..its a bit frayed around the edges, details like I show below are there to be seen and so easy to fix. I did expect more. The bar and restaurant have been refurbished in recent years but rooms are in need of TLC. Food expensive but staff excellent , overall could be so much better.

"great staff"
Chris N, 26 Septembre 2016

location was perfect and the staff were very friendly, best buffet breakfast I've had. If going to Newmarket for races, you get the best of both worlds. as after the races you are a short walk to the town centre.

"HI i came for my brothers wedding on the 24th of september 2016"
Courtney H, 26 Septembre 2016

The food was excellent the services was very good and the whole day was amazing especially the staff they where all friendly and welcoming to my whole family Rachel moor was so kind and she is a vey good photographer and thanks for the good day I would reamed it to anyone for there special day.

"Wedding stay over "
Mick V, 24 Septembre 2016

Room was very small and tired. Luckily the bathroom was better. 1 night was enough. Bed was clean and comfortable. No view from window just looked out on corridor which was strange. Wedding party was good though

"Some work still to be done."
James R, 24 Septembre 2016

Average only. Check what room you book for. Some rooms look out onto a corridor from an internal window rather than looking outside. There is evidence that the hotel is being improved as the bathroom was good as was the double bed. However, the rest of the furniture in the room was tired, dark and with ill fitting doors. The breakfast was rather expensive, but there were plenty of local cafes. Unlikely to stay again.

"Not good enough"
Quarky68, 22 Septembre 2016

Stayed here for one night on business. I got a tiny room with an equally tiny TV. Decor showing signs of wear and tear. No iron/board but this was brought quickly. Aircon provided. It's just all a bit meh, tatty, and disappointing. Next time I'll use the Premier Inn.

"Perfect for Race-goers"
Alison A, 19 Septembre 2016

The Heath Court Hotel is just perfect for any race goer looking to stay in Newmarket, just 2mins away from the gallops on Warren Hill, and within easy reach of both race courses. With an excellent location, good food, friendly helpful staff, the Heath Court has it all.

"Dated exterior, but great hotel."
Kitsgrrl, 13 Septembre 2016

We arrived at Heath Court and was a little disappointed as it looked very dated. BUT, the receptionist was lovely. Room was clean and tidy - albeit the bathroom and windows were quite dated and we didn't have the best view. BUT that didn't matter. Brand new bed. Comfortable pillows. Clean. Tidy. New TV for whiling the time away waiting for a cab. 24 hour bar. Peaceful room. And an amazing full English breakfast! (Which was delivered to us in our room, even though we put the call through 2 minutes before the end of breakfast!) Can't fault the place, even though the price was a little steep - would definitely stay here again for the quality.

"Stunning"
Pinkpeach81, 12 Septembre 2016

What a fab place to stay! Simply gorgeous menu with mouth watering food, very nice staff throughout, lovely rooms and well kept front area with flowers and planters. Near shops and main street with petrol station near also.

"Grim"
User, 03 Septembre 2016

Beyond tired, rooms with windows onto corridors, loud hum in room that is "just the kitchen extractor fan", oh and anytime a nearby room flushes the loo you hear it in all its glory. Thankfully the air con works so at least you can create a kind of stereo effect with the hum. Interesting wallpapering technique whereby it's peeled off all over the room but they've just painted over it. See photo and you too could have this look.

"Don't book budget"
jonnik41, 28 Août 2016

Stayed here last weekend with my same sex husband in a budget room (room 16). Smart hotel, ideally located. Lovely bar and dining areas, well appointed. Ample parking. Excellent breakfast. All staff very pleasant, helpful and professional service. Had an interior budget room due to hotel being full. Bed was OK but double bed quite small. Hot night so air conditioning on, as couldn't open the interior window. Noticed a large pool of water on the wardrobe top when we left which was dripping onto the carpet but unable to report it as no-one on reception to check us out. Needs fixing, can't be healthy! Otherwise, would certainly recommend.

"Uncomfortable stay"
femaletraveller_11, 28 Août 2016

Given the pokiest room in the hotel. Clean but so hot! No air conditioning, small window opening. Dated room but modern bathroom. Mattress is in need of replacement - huge depression making an uncomfortable night's sleep. Charged twice for room! Still waiting for refund. Good English breakfast. Easy free parking!

"Very Pleasantly Surprised"
MorWil, 26 Août 2016

My partner and I arrived quite late one night and received a very warm and efficient welcome. We were upgrade to one of the larger rooms which was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The main reception and bar/dining areas are very attractive and comfortable. We were just in time for the restaurant where the service was good, as was the food, particularly the Belly Pork! Breakfast was excellent.

"Superb food and excellent service"
Amy S, 25 Août 2016

What a fantastic hotel, litterly footsteps from the local shops and restaurants. The hotels restaurant is fantastic, the food is a good as it sounds on the menu, and it's well worth staying for breakfast as that's super tasty too!!! Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.

"Bussines stopover"
Tony S, 23 Août 2016

Location You cant get more central than this. Plenty of pubs and restaurants around if you wish to go out and plenty of opportunities to window shop nearby. Reception As commented in another review the receptionist was very pleasant and I feel confident that if I had had any issues they would have been dealt with efficiently. Bar I had a few drinks at the bar and although the décor is a little 'dark' it doesn't strike you as oppressive rather, its just there. The seats are comfy and there are plenty of them in a variety of seating styles. Most importantly the beer was good and the price quite reasonable for a hotel. I never had to wait for a drink and the service was good, talkative and friendly but noticeably held back when I was working, which was appreciated. Restaurant Didn't sit in the restaurant as I ate in my room though it looked quite pleasant. The food (scampi, chips and peas) were hot nicely cooked and the tray had all you would expect, lemon condiments etc. the menu had a good variety and all the prices I thought were very reasonable. Room I was very pleasantly surprised by the room as it was LARGE, comfortable, had a settee, chairs and table with a view out over the car park and town. The bathroom was spacious modern but tiled in a Victorian style? which worked for me as I think it looked timeless. The night porter was very nice and politely showed me the telephone on reception with the big sign above it saying "lift receiver for attention" rather than ringing the door bell as I had just done! All was very clean and overall I think very good value for money. I will certainly stay there again when in Newmarket.

"Needs a Facelift"
Neil M, 17 Août 2016

A one night stay that suited a purpose...ideally located for Newmarket town centre, however the rooms are very tired and smelt strongly of damp. In desperate need of modernisationan and more suggestive of a hostel than a hotel. Saving grace was the lady receptionist who was very polite and professional and instantly offered an upgrade when we complained. Didn't use the restaurant as arrived late and left early

"Very pleasant "
Sam H, 15 Août 2016

Exactly what you would expect from a reasonably priced hotel, breakfast was good, rooms were very clean and our bathroom looked recently refitted. Good value for money and Newmarket was very nice too. Didn't try the restaurant other than breakfast but was well presented.

"Newmarket nights"
DOMINICNEWTON, 10 Août 2016

We stayed at this hotel for my brother in law's 50 th birthday, something a bit special I presumed, after an evening's horse racing at the July course followed by Mark Ronson doing his thing on the decks, mixing some fabulous music. I found that it was a bit overpriced for what you get, sorry, but it wasn't anything special, not value for money in my eyes.

"Disappointing"
Steve-and-Nikki, 07 Août 2016

Booked this hotel for just the one night ( thank god) as we were going to the Newmarket races. On arrival we noticed the building itself looked shabby, and entering, the carpet looked like it hasn't been replaced since the 80's As we checked in I was thinking I hope the room is better as we had payed £120 for one night, to my shock the receptionist tried to charge us £ 214 ??? After showing the booking confirmation this was amended. Going up to the room the 80's carpet ran through the hall, had to go down a drafty passage to the room, as I opened the door there was a musty damp smell, the room was tiny, paper hanging off the walls, Tiny TV also holding on the wall for dear life, had to sit under it to watch, bathroom was good and very clean Window is unable to open and people can see in your room as they walk down the passage I can't believe Best Western charge £120 for this damp box, a fair price for this room would be £30 As we checked out I was asked how the room was, on mentioning this problem I was informed that it has plans to renovate, fine but why charge the full price while it's in the state it's in? Breakfast was poor in my opinion, one of the male staff seemed to be in a bad mood It's put me off Best Western in the future Location was good

"Average stay"
danio12345, 04 Août 2016

We checked in with the NP as we arrived late. Friendly but could benefit with more training. Didn't no we was arriving, didn't tell us which way our rooms were until asked etc. Alarm call at 6am??? We didn't request 1 so didn't appreciate being woken up at that time when we didn't arrive till around 2.30am! Rooms could do with a refurb think this would benefit the hotel. Bed very comfortable! Shower lovely and powerful! Bar area nice. Room was very clean you can tell house keeping do a good job. Short blonde haired receptionist didn't seem to acknowledge us in the morning. I work on reception in a best western myself so did expect reception to be a lot more friendly. Short brown haired receptionist that checked us out was lovely. If I needed to stay in the area again I would probably return. Checked out 04th August (1night stay)

"A Bad 1970s' Sitcom"
Wembleygal, 01 Août 2016

I knew that my future would include a pokey, over-priced room, but I didn't think it would be all that bad for one night. First off, as a Diamond, I never did get my promised extra amenity (despite asking twice at the front desk). The room reminded me of a prison in a bad 1970s' sitcom. I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, they can charge £86 for such a terrible room. Not only was the curtain torn, but the wallpaper was peeling and the surfaces (especially around the tiny bed and headboard) failed the wipe test. I'm confident I left the room cleaner than when I arrived, as I used anti-septic wipes on ALL of the surfaces. When I mentioned these problems at check-out, I was informed that they hoped to renovate the single rooms in the next 6 months, but “good help was hard to find”. Sheesh. The small Freeview TV was not tuned properly, but at least the A/C worked. The only good thing about the room was the clean bathroom and powerful shower. I didn't try the restaurant or bar, but the staff seemed friendly. While I hope I never have to go back to Newmarket again, if I had to, I would certainly try to find alternative accommodation.

"Very disappointed"
AngieHarbs, 31 Juillet 2016

Standard rooms are like prison cells. No external windows, old fashioned décor/smell and not a lot of room. The only window looks onto the main through hallway so a lot of noise of returning guests passing the window and they can also see into your room if the curtains are not closed. Not enough room for two people. Tried to order food after checking in at 3.45pm and was told kitchen doesn't open until 6.30pm. This was after being told previously over the telephone food available all day.

"Expectations smashed beyond belief!!!"
Matt J, 30 Juillet 2016

To clarify this review is based on delivery vs expectation. Was travelling to Norwich and needed a half way house to stay to recharge batteries. Obnly needed a night so booked a basic single, no windows basic etc. Easy to find with plenty of free parking. Friendly welcome on reception. Did the usual form fill in, pay some money, get key etc. At this stage only expecting something basic. Got to room (24) and rather than a pokey little single room was confronted by lots of doors. One to the bathroom, one to a single room and the cherry on the cake was a door to a giant double room. Totally lucked out with a family room / suite. Although a little tired, the condition of the room was very good. A choice of two king size beds and a large screen TV and DVD player. Had everything I could possible want and more. Free Wifi which was fast and consistent. 12Mb down and 6 up which although not superfast was far more than enough for watching youtube and netflix. After a wonderful night sleep on the very very comfortable bed and a wonderful shower I went down for breakfast. A buffet affair with usual fruit, cereal, juice plus a hot breakfast buffet with eggs cooked to order. Even had a few pastrys on the hot plate keeping nice and warm, not cold and chewy which most places serve. Real coffee in a caffetiere. Only one and a half cups worth but the attentive waitress saw I had just finished and brought over a fresh one (after asking if I did want another). I was planning on leaving early in the morning but stayed until checkout time to get some work done. Could not ask for more.

"Poorer than 2 years ago"
Derek H, 29 Juillet 2016

Stayed in room 16 on business for one night. Requested payment when checking in and having booked on the BW site this is not an acceptable way for Platinum members to be treated, they have all my details on file. Receptionist was not friendly so did it but not happy, also when asking for a VAT receipt was told would get it in morning, again not good enough when I've just paid over £90 for one nights B&B. Room was outdated, a throwback to the 80's and was really quite small with a wall mounted TV that needed a magnifying glass to view. The AC unit dripped water continuously so much so I had to switch it off at night so I could get to sleep. The public areas are modern and well presented but reception area is quite honestly pathetic. The breakfast was good and in general the staff are pleasant and attentive. The best aspect of the stay was the bed comfort which was great. Won't stay here again.

"Still waiting for breakfast"
sheena539, 29 Juillet 2016

Such a shame. Lovely staff, nice big room, great location but total disorganisation. We stayed with our dog & needed breakfast room service but there aren't any forms available so had to write on a bit if paper which evening receptionist must have forgotten to hand in. Ordered for 9 .... Went to check at 9.15 ...... 9.35 still waiting & we need to get moving!!!!!

"Break away"
edwina1969, 25 Juillet 2016

Lovely places to stay friendly staff lovely meals and great rooms with everything you need would visit again and love the comfy beds plenty to do a near by breakfast was very nice and brought to the room in walking distance to all you need nice pubs and close to race course thanks for a lovely stay

"Well Located for Business in the area"
TheRetiredTraveller, 25 Juillet 2016

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night on the 21st July 2016 and we stayed in the July Suite(19). We had had a busy day with meetings and we found the hotel easy to get to and it had ample car parking facilities. The Staff on arrival had been having difficulties with the Room Key technology but they still booked us in very quickly and took us to our room returning a short time later when they had successfully activated our copies of the key card. Very good service we thought not to be kept waiting. The room was very very good indeed, having a large sitting area, large screen TV and upgraded room amenities. They bathroom was truly huge and very well presented. His and hers sinks, large shower and seperate bath.It was very well presented. The WiFi was very good so we were able to finish our work that evening easily. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The bar area in the evening was good for sitting in or out on the patio area and the service was good. Breakfast in the morning was not too bad, but was a little lacking in some of the areas you would expect, liked not all the hot-trays were out and mushrooms not present or refilled. Also the serve yourself toast machine was of the typical type that actually does not prepare your toast, unless you like it the same colour as you placed it in the machine. They are obvioulsy aware of this issue as they have the notice above the toaster, DONT put your toast through twice.( Unless of course you like the appearance of firemen in uniform due to setting off the smoke detectors.... Mrs E did of course want to do this but was restrained by my good self who needed to get on to another meeting). Overall, it was a good place to stay and very convenient for the town area.

"Excellent stay "
Zoe W, 19 Juillet 2016

Stayed here on 24th June was seeing will young at Newmarket races.. We arrived just before midday and our room was ready. Very big spacious rooms with a double bed and single. We had a carvery dinner which was also lovely. The lady on reception was ever so helpful, members of staff were also polite and helpful & very chatty. Nothing was ever a trouble always willing to answer questions as this was our first time at the races. Parking at the hotel is free but is a first come first served basis this wasn't a problem though returning back at midnight. Breakfast in the morning was lovely really plentiful.

"Great hotel and staff"
Bram2mags, 18 Juillet 2016

A one night stay for a day at the races! We were unable to check in early due to the hotel being so busy, but staff kindly supplied a room for us to change and freshen up after a long journey!! Our room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped! Breakfast was of a very good standard with plenty of choice! Staff were both friendly and very helpful! Will definitely stay again

"good location in town"
Verity59, 17 Juillet 2016

Best western always reliable. this one no exception. Good room -all facilities as you would expect. Nice big bathroom. Plenty of parking. Breakfast not huge in choice but still nice. Very very good value. Very well placed for visiting the Newmarket museum and the Jockey club gallops, and close to the main road through town with all the restaurants and pubs.

"Was really good hotel really help us out (even tho when got there booking was not on system)!"
User, 10 Juillet 2016

We stayed here and was lovely, however upon getting there are booking was not confirmed so they done everything in there power and sorted us out a fantastic room! But being first time I had used trip advisor and if they did not have a room available I'm not sure what would have happened?!? So I would stay there again however I will not book anything via trip advisor again !

"Enjoyable stay"
LucyLocket_7, 04 Juillet 2016

Only here for a couple of nights but worth complimenting. Yes the building has a somewhat dated appearance but it provides all you need for a comfortable stay and our room was huge, and a good deal at the price we paid. My only disappointment being that I booked well in advance of my visit and had asked for a room overlooking the gallops which I didn't get, but wasn't about to make a fuss for the sake of two nights! Food was fine, bed was comfy, good parking facilities, just about all we needed for a short break.

"Brilliant staff and hotel"
Peter B, 04 Juillet 2016

Visited this hotel for 2 nights when attending a wedding locally. The staff at the hotel are amazing! Lovely friendly welcome and we were given an upgrade so more than happy with the room. Very clean and tea and coffee facilities provided along with nice fluffy white towels. Had a problem with the taxi we had booked to take us to the wedding venue and the staff could not have been more helpful in tracking it down for us for which we were so grateful for. Service makes a hotel and the Heath Court have definitely got it right. Would recommend a stay here and the location is very good with parking available which is why we chose to stay there. Many thanks to all at the Heath Court for such an enjoyable stay.

"70th birthday party"
irenebrotherton, 03 Juillet 2016

My husband and I celebrated our 70th birthdays, with seventeen guests in the hotel restaurant; all of the food was excellent, and the staff very attentive. Compliments to all for making it a fabulous, enjoyable evening. Many thanks Irene and Ray Brotherton

"Perfect Stay"
Jon S, 30 Juin 2016

I was booked in the July suite. An exceptional room with every amenity you can imagine. Enormous amount of space & comfort, bed & pillows to die for & more storage space than you could possibly fill. Tassimo coffee machine, biscuits & cookies together with chocolate & tea all provided together with fresh springwater still & sparking. Enormous shower room & bath with bidet, toilet & 2 sinks. What more could you require.

"best best western"
jacbrac, 29 Juin 2016

i have stayed in hotels all over the world and many 5 star but i can honestly say that none of them have the equivalent of your louisa she is more than polite and professional she feels like your friend from the moment of talking she is this hotels greatest asset upon which we all agreed and the reason we have already re-booked for next year

"Great hotel! Definitely recommend it!!"
Deborah L, 26 Juin 2016

Visited for a weekend and had a great stay! The staff were friendly professional and helpful and the hotel is located really well for visiting the town, racecourse and surrounding countryside. The room was great - would definitely recommend a superior room which is extremely large! Breakfast was perfect! Lots to choose from - from fruit and yoghurts, to pastries, to cooked breakfast! Would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area!

"majestically underwhelming"
papapp, 25 Juin 2016

Attended this "3 star" hotel for lunch as part of an organised day out . so not my choice of venue. First impressions not good . There were ragged greying net curtains hanging out of the bedroom windows. The building is ugly but there is nothing that can be done about that . Supposedly the place has had a major face lift but the room we were in- The Guineas Suite- was very tatty . Again greying nets were hanging off the windows In some places they were not even fixed . Badly stained and broken ceiling tiles . Dingy lighting. Food was uninspiring to say the least - set menu . Service rushed with minimal interaction from staff who looked extremely bored paper napkins - a big no no in my book.Chewing gum on a carpet that a staff member stod inches from. If I noticed it so should they. Ladies toilets had a bin overflowing with paper towels with wet and muddy floor

"Lovely stay"
marky96, 24 Juin 2016

Came up here to go horse racing. Booked 2 nights stay.chose to have a superior room. The room itself was very spacious had everything you need included a tassimo machine. Glad we chose this hotel as it was quiet outside and the hotel had plenty of parking. The staff were all very friendly and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Di use the bar area but can't comment on the food as we into the town as we wanted to look around. Would reccomend this hotel to anyone but worth the upgrade to a superior room.

"Huge family room - was apartment size! "
spangey78, 23 Juin 2016

Excellent value for money! Great location and the enormity of the room made up for the dated decor! We requested a family room and were literally given the equivalent of a whole flat! There were two large separate bedrooms and large bathroom all in one unit. Fantastic layout for families, friendly and welcoming staff, free parking on site, would definitely stay again.

"Excellent Hotel"
Steven W, 22 Juin 2016

I am highly impressed with this hotel. My room was in excellent condition and the air conditioning worked well. My Myfi box was difficult to connect however the Wifi in the hotel had a good connection and I was able to work from the hotel room. My evening meal was very nice and breakfast was freshly cooked!

"NEWMARKET RACES"
baz n caz c c, 20 Juin 2016

had a good deal on exec suite , room spacious and clean ,bed clean and nice bathroom, staff were polite helpful and check in quick .but let down by having no safe in the room so having to carry our things around which isnt good .nowadays all hotels should have a safe ,also no fridge in the room .think this hotel needs to think about upgrading to the present . but saying that we had a great day at the races and a good night out in newmarket so would prob return

"Afternoon Tea"
Ian Y, 31 Mai 2016

Booked afternoon tea for five people. Surroundings very relaxed, staff very attentive but not over the top. The afternoon was delicious with a great selection of food and extremely good value. If you are looking for afternoon tea in Newmarket give it go. Will definetly be back.

"What a find!"
AngieCoventGarden, 30 Mai 2016

We have been coming to Newmarket for years and this is the first time as guests at Heath Court. Despite a 70s exterior the hotel is faultless with efficient and helpful staff like Lee on reception and the hardworking restaurant team. Nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant and bar are modern, yet elegant. Our room is more like a suite and the bathroom with its fantastic shower and large "soak-in" bath is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The views of the gallops from our 2nd floor room are panoramic. The carvery was wonderful as was the buffet breakfast this morning. We liked it so much we booked in for an extra night. The only regret? We didn't give this delightful hotel a chance sooner.

"Perfect location for Newmarket with free parking"
sandra p, 17 Mai 2016

Room was beautiful, bed perfect, staff very helpful, on the Saturday there was a wedding in the hotel, not very accommadating for hotel guest if you wanted the restaurant you had to intrude on the wedding party, also in the bar ,

"Another great stay."
philzuss, 16 Mai 2016

Another great stay, as usual the staff went the extra mile to make our stay as smooth as possible. Many thanks to the reception team. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bed perfect, a good nights sleep and a filling breakfast to set us up for the day.

"Perfect for four stars"
Alfred1L, 08 Mai 2016

Yes, I know it's rated only three stars but surely that must be a mistake. Don't let the disappointing exterior fool you. My wife and I stayed there (with a group) for two nights and we found our room was beautiful, all amenities appeared to be brand new, coffee machine, stacks of complimentary biscuits, toiletries, huge soft thick towels, heavy bathrobes, choice of pillows and lots more. The staff were brilliant in all departments. Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant beautifully presented and served. White tablecloths, elegant cutlery. Tea and coffee, all kinds, were served in individual cafetierres. Free WiFi. Officially a three star hotel but unofficially I'd give it five. We've been around a lot and this is one of the best hotels we've experienced.

"Excellent restaurant, reasonable rooms, with good service"
John T, 08 Mai 2016

From the moment you check in the Heath Court will strive to make your visit a memorable one. Yes, it is a little dated from the outside, but once inside the staff will ensure that your needs are comfortably met. The restaurant, which will not break the bank is one of the best in the area and readily will cater to both special dietary needs and allergies. That said, it is popular for both residents and non-residents alike, and can get busy, so it is well worth booking a table in advance. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel, all though it can get a little sluggish under heavy use.

"Ok for a couple of nights"
MissChampers, 06 Mai 2016

We stayed here for one night after a day at the races which is about a mile away. The hotel was ok, basic decor but clean and is ok for a couple of nights stay. I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat here. I would stay here again if I ever go back to Newmarket.

"Eat in the restaurant for delicious food"
Richt36, 05 Mai 2016

While I'd avoid one of the internal single rooms as my bedroom window is on a walk way, I'd definitely recommend the restaurant as the food was marvellous! Pan roasted chicken for mains and tomato soup for starters. The bedroom has a modern clean bathroom, free wifi and a smallish flat screen tv, I just hope passing guests are quite!

"The best, Best Western I've stayed in for a while"
SmartDamo, 03 Mai 2016

I used to live on Moulton Road at Warren Place, so although I'd driven past and seen the out dated exterior, I had never any reason to visit. On the few times I have stayed in Newmarket I had chosen the Best Western at Quy Mill. I had recently decided not to use Best Western anymore once I had honoured my bookings as their Reward scheme changes had really made it meaningless to be an elite member. I am a Diamond member and would have been Diamond for Life on old rules so had booked rooms to stay with them in preference to Accor Hotels and IHG and they changed the rules and added, Diamond select as afurther tier, you no longer get, early check ins, late checkouts, free newspaper, you are supposed to receive a welcome gift but none of the 5 or 6 I have stayed at since the changes have offered this. Back to this hotel, we arrived early but as it was Guineas weekend couldnt check in early as it was full the night before, they instead took our bags and had them put into our room for when we arrived back, our room was dated but extremely comfortable with nespresso style machine and large bathroom, with shower over bath. It was clean and tidy and had water. We arrived back late, the night porter was happy to do drinks from the bar. There was an error on the bill which was amended immediatley on checkout, I will definitely be back, very good value and you don't need a taxi to the high street and plenty of parking.

"Sunday lunch "
BROWNIE1Suffolk, 24 Avril 2016

Visited today , greeting in the restaurant very blunt and rather unpleasant not a great start .Very nice carvery and pudding . Very pleasant waiting staff , we decided to have a small break before pudding and advised the waiter this resulted in us being asked 6 times on the same number if minutes what we would like for pudding

"Better than last time"
whitfields, 22 Avril 2016

Went to Newmarket for a 50th birthday and stayed because of the price Room was clean tidy and very warm Looks tired from outside but some areas are modern inside Does need the rooms updating but ok Staff polite

"A good base to expore the area"
Coachman01, 17 Avril 2016

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel. Having viewed web sites etc we knew that the hotel construction was not visually the most appealing. However its location is very central for Newmarket and an ideal base for local sightseeing. On arrival we were checked in by Lee, a very pleasant and helpful young man. Our room was on the first floor and although the decor appeared a bit dated the room was very spacious and clean. There was the usual toiletries in the bathroom which were of good quality. The dining room was quite large and comfortable. The dinner menu covered a number of dishes which we found to be of good quality and well cooked. Breakfast was enhanced by omelets and fried eggs being freshly cooked Overall a very pleasant stay.

"Lovely large room"
Angie P, 10 Avril 2016

Friendly staff. Lovely location, walked into Newmarket town and had a look at the shops and nice pubs there too. Food good. Wonderful large room. Very clean. Lovely white dressing gowns and slippers in room. Tea making facilities. Nice bar area. Very comfortable stay.

"Very Central"
George F, 10 Avril 2016

My wife and I and a friend stayed here in order to visit 5 National Trust Properties and the National Stud. Which proved to be as excellent choice. The Hotel is only a few hundred meters walk from the gallops where one can watch the horses being exercised. The town itself is not very large but has some interesting shopping and a few museums.

"Bad and dated"
xkathjx, 09 Avril 2016

We're here now and must admit the quality of tho hotel is bad. We are a couple with a young baby and we were given a grotty dirty room with rips in the nets, dirty bathroom, whole room dated. Feels like I've gone back in time! Worst of all we requested a cot for the baby and we received a REALLYDIRTY play pen. I was expecting a travel cot which can be raised etc but this is a playpen. I haven't complained because I simply just can't wait to leave in the morning. We're going to attempt breakfast but not expecting much. Even if breakfast is fantastic i would steel feel this hotel only deserves 1 star. Foe £80+ per room its disgusting. The most I would pay for this hotel is £25 but would never stay here again anyway.

"Don't Let the Exterior Put You Off Great Hotel"
David P, 07 Avril 2016

When I first pull up I was disappointed by the exterior however once inside the true character of this hotel stands out. The staff are friendly professional and very welcoming. Food excellent, service great. The room was spotlessly clean very bright, bed comfortable and everything I needed in the room. Excellent WiFi connection throughout. Plenty of parking with only a short walk to the town. The restaurant and bar area tranquil, a good place to eat and have quiet drink.

"A lovely night in Newmarket"
John P, 24 Mars 2016

Only stayed for one night but found lovely bedroom, wonderful hotel, superb staff. We decided to have dinner in the hotel, my wife had pork loin and I had a sirloin steak, both were cooked beautifully and really well presented. the breakfast also was really good with the eggs cooked to order. The experience was so good we have decided to come back for a three or four day break later in the year

"nice stay with a group of students"
ehladiy, 16 Mars 2016

Hotel is situated in the center of Newmarket close to everything warm welcome and perfect to go around for people interested in the horse racing environment. Warm welcome and comfortable bedrooms We come here at least twice a year. we have already booked for next year!

"room a little dated"
s_kdavies, 16 Mars 2016

the hotel is in a good location on the edge of town with ample parking. the bedroom was dated with quite a shabby bathroom with an over bath shower with a curtain and a blocked plug hole. the windows were dirty and almost impossible to open. breakfast was expensive at £12.50 and not that special although the coffee was good.

"Excellent Hotel"
Neville P, 14 Mars 2016

A lovely hotel in the centre of Newmarket, which has a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. The staff are professional and attentive. The restaurant food is excellent in presentation and taste. The bedrooms are spacious and very clean.

"Visit to Animal Health Trust vets"
Laraorourke, 08 Mars 2016

We booked this hotel using our Rewards points and money to take our new rescue dog to have an operation. She had a terrible start to her life and this was meant to be her final op. The lady at central bookings was excellent and on hearing the reason for travel sent two best western dog coats, sadly neither fit. On arriving at the hotel the staff could not be more welcoming in particular the lady who is on reception. The hotel overlooks the gallops so is in a fabulous location. Will definitely return to this hotel in the future. Made a challenging weekend really very pleasant.

"Mr nick smith"
nick1216, 07 Mars 2016

Visited hotel and issue identified with booking rectified in a very professional and supportive manner by Emma. Customer service fantastic throughout my stay with excellent food..... Will stay again................................

"Lovely stay, good hotel, great staff."
Richie B, 06 Mars 2016

Stayed overnight and used this as a venue for a family Sunday lunch gathering. Warm friendly welcome, room was spacious and clean, some of the decor is dated but well maintained. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the Sunday lunch was excellent, not overpriced but at the more expensive end of the scale for food but the family room was excellent value for money. Ideally situated in the town with ample parking and some lovely walks across the gallops just 100m from the front door. This is our second stay in 6 months and we would stay here again any day.

"Disappointing"
MrsP1996, 03 Mars 2016

Although this hotel is in a good location to local facilities it seems very tired and in my opinion requires a decorating overhaul. The suite provided was of a good size but rather shabby with a grubby stained carpet and filthy net curtains. There was a large flat screen TV, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer and broken (leaking) Tassimo coffee maker. Previous occupants used soap left in shower soap dish, as well as a pair of rolled up socks in the wardrobe. The king sized bed was comfortable with clean linen. The Bar area was clean, seating reasonably comfortable but the heating/air conditioning kept fluctuating between too hot then too cold. The late evening bar tender was chirpy and friendly but rather dishevelled in appearance, dirty shoes, creased unkempt clothing and constantly had ear phones in listening to an audio book. Breakfast was extremely expensive £25.00 for two although it is cheaper if booked at the same time as your room booking. A disappointing stay and not somewhere I would return too.

"Business trip, brilliant"
Henshipooch, 01 Mars 2016

Fabulous hotel, comfy bed, lovely pillows, high quality on everything on trip for work. Helpful staff, great location, with view of horses exercising in the morning. Highly recommend this well presented and lovely h hotel

"Well located hotel for Newmarket"
Trickydicky501, 19 Février 2016

Business trip to Newmarket. Reception staff were very friendly and rooms were clean and comfortable. Free wi-fi available. Good breakfast and courteous staff. Within walking distance of most decent restaurants and bars in Newmarket. Recommended.

"Everything you need for your stay"
LucienBonfante, 15 Février 2016

This hotel was a verh clean and welcoming stay. The guy on the front desk checked us in very quickly and without hassle. The room was cleaned daily and had many amenities. These include plenty of pillows, tea making facilities, desk, hair dryer, and plenty of mirrors. The tv worked well and had freeview and skysports 1-5. The hotel also had good working wifi around the whole hotel. Other good points include the hotel's free parking and the size of the room and ensuite were very good. The location of the hotel is very good allowing guests to walk into town or drive to bury or cambridge. The only negative points were the fact that the shower head was quite descaled which I know from my career is not ideal. Nevertheless the shower was nice and hot and the bathroom had a good amount of towels and shower cosmetics. Another down side was that our room didn't have a dvd player in the room and the description said it did but this wasn't a major problem. Overall the stah was very pleasant and trouble free.

"Girls Night Out"
gally25169, 06 Février 2016

Had a very enjoyable evening, good selection on the menu, service was excellent and food very tasty. The restaurant was very comfortable and lovely surroundings. Will be booking again for a birthday dinner in the very near future.

"Best Western Heath Court Hotel"
Brian L, 03 Février 2016

A very pleasing business trip, very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent restaurant providing a very tasty meal. I will certainly be staying at this venue every time I am working in the area. I would very strongly recommend this hotel.

"Staff always helpful"
Paul S, 25 Janvier 2016

I am disabled and have used this hotel to visit friends in Newmarket. When a member of staff - Reception, housekeeping, restaurant, etc. see me they have always helped or tried to help once an issue is highlighted. Always friendly. Far better than my experiences in the past at any Travelodge. However there aren't enough Best Western hotels near my various family/friends. Not their fault.

"Great place"
ste w, 19 Janvier 2016

Stayed here last weekend while working in the area. I felt very underdressed when I arrived after working on site. Greeted by a charming lady on reception and a porter/bell boy was more than I was expecting. Great job. Was given the keys to room 46 and it was massive. Massive double bed a 2 seater settee and more wardrobe and draw space than B & Q. A great large FS tv with all sky sports apart from SS3 not an issue it was heaven. The bathroom was adequate with lots of complimentary toiletries and towels. Loads of parking and a little walk to the town. Great place to stay and great staff. Thank you all. 10/10

"Good hotel"
Robert M, 19 Janvier 2016

We were travelling to a party in Cambridge and needed a hotel that was pet friendly as we had to take our 2 dogs. We could find nothing of a reasonable price in Cambridge so my brother suggested this hotel in Newmarket. It was easy to find just outside the town and close to the Heath for dog walks. Reception was friendly and welcoming and we checked into our family room (needed to accommodate 2 large Labradors and 2 adults). The room was a bit tired and was told the hotel is undergoing refurbishment. We returned from the party at 1am and was let in by night porter so no problem there. Next morning we enjoyed a freshly cooked full English breakfast which was good quality. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who isn't looking for the highest quality but is happy with good, friendly service in a good location. I would stay again.

"Christmas party"
rossmckittrick, 16 Janvier 2016

We attended the Heathcourt hotel in December for a Christmas party, I would like to say that the food was first class, service was also first class especially from Rachel, Sarah and Adrian. All eight of us who attended had an exceptionally great evening.

"So welcoming! "
TMH H, 10 Janvier 2016

The Sunday just before Christmas , I received such a warm welcome when arriving here on my own with a very poorly dog. After driving 3 hours to get there so we could visit the animal health trust the next day , it was so nice to be greeted by a lovely receptionist call Elaine, she was so kind and helpful giving me and Priscilla a free upgrade and help with our luggage up to our room. The room was lovely so spacious and clean, and most importantly the bed was extremely comfortable. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough... 10/10

"Appalling Place, service to match"
SuntanMan10, 09 Janvier 2016

I booked this hotel as an overnight stopover when working in Norwich and Cambridge on consecutive days, more for convenience than with any particular research. One notable point, was that the hotel stated it'd been refurbished throughout - This isn't exactly the case, more so that it's still in the process of being refurbished!! Upon arrival, the reception desk had no knowledge of my arrival, even though I'd booked a few days in advance, causing the man on reception to have to call through to find out. When he came off the phone, he asked me how much I needed to pay (I was honest and told him the correct price!!) and he allocated me a room - This turned out to be at the furthest point of the hotel (Room 49) and upon entering it, it was absolutely freezing. I turned the radiators on, but had to shower in the freezing cold room, and the bathroom didn't even have a radiator, so it remained cold for my full stay. Whilst the room had been refurbished, it was almost like it hadn't been finished, with a random glass TV stand just stuck in the corner. Having quickly showered and dressed, I went downstairs for dinner, and was greeted by a very pleasant young male, who seemed completely out of place such was his pleasant professionalism!! When he handed me the menu, he began to reel off the list of items from each section that weren't available - I chose a steak because at least they had that!! Whilst waiting for my food, I noticed a sign saying that Sky Sports was available in the lounge and guest bedrooms, so as I'd left home early I decided to retire early to e watch some football that was on, hoping my room had warmed sufficiently!! When my food came, it was decent enough, but steak, chips and onion rings isn't a tough ask for any chef to prepare - It certainly wasn't presented in any special way. Upon returning to my room an hour or so later, it had warmed up so I decided to lay down and watch the Sky Sports I'd been promised - I was very disappointed to find I had standard Freeview and no sports!! The following morning I did take a picture of this sign having checked to make sure I'd read it correctly. The rest of my stay continued in much the same way really, breakfast was pretty average with way too much cooked on the buffet, so it was stood there for a long time - too long in fact. The main shocking, and indeed dangerous issue came early on Wednesday morning when I got up to go to breakfast - The corridor was in total darkness with not even emergency lighting (again I took a picture), so it took the torch from my iPhone for me to navigate my way to where the lights were on. The final issue occurred at checkout, when I was advised the systems were down, and so they couldn't print me a VAT receipt for me to claim back through expenses - I was advised it would be e-mailed to me that day (Tuesday). It eventually arrived Friday night, with me having chased it on 2 occasions to be told their systems were still down. This place is dreadful and needs sorting!!

"New Years eve"
judy d, 01 Janvier 2016

We arrived at the Hotel at 17-30 and were shown imeadiately to our room which was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We were then taken to our table in the dinning area where we introduced to our waitress for the evening who was on hand all evening serving our delicious 5course meal and drinks all evening. The dinning area was tastefully decorated and every table had a selection of party poppers balloons crackers etc the entertainment was a disco which played a selection of music to suit the ages of the people there and not over loud so you could converse and hear what was being said, a t.v. Was tuned into trafalger square so we could see Big Ben. Ring in the new year we were invited to order Champagne for the celebration which was brought to our table well in time and the waitress was there to serve it, we partied till about 2 a.m. When we returned to our room. Breakfast was served from 9 a.m. We vacated our room by 11 a.m. A big well done to Robert the manager and his lovely staff

"Great staff & a fantastic New Years Eve"
Guygud, 01 Janvier 2016

We just wanted to say what a fantastic New Years Eve party we had at Heath Court, this is our second visit to the hotel, the last time was for a wedding. Both times were extremely memorable for all the right reasons, the staff were brilliant, the food was excellent and the service was faultless. This is a warm and friendly environment and we highly recommend it for occasions and events. Thanks to all the team!

"Great room facilities"
paulnpat, 29 Décembre 2015

We stayed one quiet Sunday night in December and were upgraded. Our room was well appointed, very comfortable and had Sky Sports on TV. A real plus for a sports fan in this racing town. The bathroom also had a small weighing machine. A nice touch though I did not dare use it myself! The dining/breakfast room has been redesigned and looked very smart. The english breakfast was ok but the fried bread tasted too much of cooking oil. Will certainly return, value for money.

"Second visit to Heath Court but first ever tripadvisor review."
RN5789, 27 Décembre 2015

Having spent a weekend at the hotel during January 2015, my wife and I together with her brother and sister in law enjoyed it so much that we decided to spend Christmas there ( Dec. 24 to 27), but this time we included 94 years old mother in law. From original booking, ( many thanks for your patience Maxine), through the excellent 6,or was it 7course Christmas Dinner and the equally good Boxing Day carvery to our departure on the 27th. we were all, especially mother in law, very pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and almost "over the top "attention to detail shown by Robert and every member of the hotel staff. We all thought the accommodation to be extremely tasteful and comfortable, and as it is fairly obvious that improvements are currently in hand, none of the party would have been bothered to search for and list the very few minor defects which could need attention. Some or all of us will use Heath Lodge again. Finally one aspect of the hotel which I have not seen mentioned in the reviews I have so far read is that well behaved dogs are welcomed and conseqently Tiggy our seven year old greyhound enjoyed a few circuits on the gallops, though naturally when the horses were resting!

"friendly staff"
Alison T, 26 Décembre 2015

whilst seeing friends near Christmas had a lovely stay after arriving we where given a free upgrade, using the bar all staff where friendly and helpful right near the town lovely place to stay especially if horse racing in the summer.

"Sunday Lunch"
Chris W, 23 Décembre 2015

Amazing food, service and surroundings. Aware of its reputation for food our visit exceeded our expectations. Friendly staff as we walked in, superb food enjoyed by all of us. We will be back for the Sunday carvery

"Great Carvery"
Brian186225, 17 Décembre 2015

My wife and I love the carvery at this hotel you can have Roast Beef, Pork, or Turkey which are cooked to perfection. In fact we went to my wife"s works xmas party here this year as well. If you fancy a drink the Bar has a nice and relaxing seating area.

"Basic Accommodations at a Good Value"
rogersequest, 17 Décembre 2015

Multiday stay at the Heath. Reception desk staff are friendly and helpful. Room was reasonable size though on the small side. Good channels on the TV for those 3:00 AM can't sleep moments though there wasn't really a comfortable way to watch which worked well if you were trying to fall asleep. Very basic amenities with just shampoo and bodywash but no washcloth. Modern bathroom which was a plus. Breakfast was good with good service. People were friendly overall. Close to High Street which made it easy to walk to find somewhere to eat. WiFi was actually fast enough to do more than email.

"Breakfast seemed a surprise to staff"
John W, 17 Décembre 2015

I reported the orange juice dispenser not working they tried it and then left me there others mentioned it but nothing was done. On my second night 2 days later I gathered my main breakfast items and waited eight and a half minutes for my eggs to be cooked (fried), I had to reject the now cold food and get more, Overall the hotel is good but serious training issues need addressing

"sunday lunch"
michael a, 13 Décembre 2015

just came back from a great Sunday lunch. we had a table for 9 people, the table was laid out lovely, the staff made us all feel very welcome and gave fantastic service, the food was excellent as always. we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. we will definitely be going back

"Xmas party "
Emma R, 13 Décembre 2015

Attended the party night as a group of 18 for our yearly Xmas Party. What a great night, food was very nice, looked good and tasted lovely, beef was cooked to perfection and size of portions was just right. New lay out of hotel made an enjoyable night for everybody enabling people to dance and others to sit and chat if they wished. Staff were all very pleasant and worked hard all night making sure everybody had exactly what they needed. Well Done to Robert and his team for making our night an enjoyable one.

"Excellent value for money"
megan f, 13 Décembre 2015

I agree with the previous reviewer that the Hotel is due for renovations as far as the decor is concerned. On the other hand, the hotel is excellent in its facilities and staff are friendly. The room was really large and facilities were very, very good. The shower was large as well befitting a country hotel. Additional touches like cookies, coffee machine, drinking water bottles, bathrobes, etc were welcome indeed. Hotel has room service and a restaurant.Breakfast is good with full english breakfast and the parking areas are adequate. It is located right in the heart of newmarket and I would recommend it for anyone who needs a comfortable stay. On the flip side like most Best western Hotels it needs to update its decor soon!

"Night Out."
Tattsfilly, 11 Décembre 2015

My husband and I recently attended a works dinner at the Heath Court. The food is average in standard, with the service being a bit hit and miss. Can't say I would highly recommend. Not what it used to be!

"Avoid for large group dinners"
Rob Q, 10 Décembre 2015

I didn't stay at the hotel so cannot comment on the rooms or other facilities. A large group (20+) of colleagues ate here and what was served to us was some of the worst food I have ever had the displeasure of eating. The kitchen somehow managed to transform the base of the chicken and leek tart starter into something closely resembling packaging foam. But when the main course arrived, it was clear that the soft pastry had absorbed every molecule of water from the overcooked and incredibly dry meat. Cheese and old (again slightly soft) biscuits to finish. Thoroughly disappointing.

"Free upgrade"
Emma C, 08 Décembre 2015

I was pleasantly surprised to be given a free upgrade to an executive suite. Having not used this hotel chain before, I was delighted. Amused by their upside down xmas tree! My only criticisms are that the menu (as is always the case in hotels) only seems to cater for wheat & dairy eaters so I didn't use the restaurant. The bathroom fan is very noisy at night, constantly on but they did turn it off on the 3rd night for me. The radiators were in desperate need of bleeding, I realised on the 2nd night but the staff were quick to sort this problem out . Very accommodating staff, a couple of silly lads working there, talking & blocking the door at one point. Some of the OAPs were blocking the entrance & seemed oblivious to me & my large suitcase. I practically had to shove past them to get by because they didn't want to budge. Seems like they think they own the place being there every day!

"Great carvery"
Helen707, 25 Novembre 2015

Did not stay at the hotel, so can not comment on rooms, but met friends for lunch at the carvery. Well it was excellent, choice of many dishes, I had the roast beef, tender and plenty of it, along with serve yourself veggies, so hungry sorts can pile it on! All very tasty, and at just over £7, great value. Finished off with a black forest gateaux (£4.25) and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Service was friendly and attentive, can not fault them, so give it a try!

"Jaded"
Barbara B, 11 Novembre 2015

Absolutely spot on review previously saying that staying here is like staying at an elderly relatives! Yes it's clean but scruffy rooms that are dated. Good linen and comfortable bed. Polite staff but lacked knowledge and failed in some areas. Said they would drop something I requested to room, didn t. Ok location but will try premier inn next time. As work paid for the room it's ok but if it was a night for pleasure would not return.

"Like staying with an elderly relative !"
PEM67, 07 Novembre 2015

This hotel has a good location, being very close to both the racecourse and the town centre. On the plus side, it has free and robust internet and free parking. All staff we pleasant and helpful. Public rooms, such as reception and restaurant are nicely presented. I did not use the restaurant in the evening, but had breakfast, which was good enough, but limited. Bacon was fatty and cold, and no pre-prepared fruit, but maybe their regular clientele don't want this. Layout is a little strange with the accommodation either being converted from flats, or designed so that it could be easily converted into flats in the future. Rooms are very dated, furniture is old and worn. Dusty throughout and pealing wallpaper don't endear your when you first walk in, it was like staying in the spare room of an elderly relative. (okay for one night, but not something you'd want to do very often !) That said, the bathroom was clean and looked as though it has been recently refurbished. I always think that a hotel room should be as good, or better than my own home. This doesn't even come close. Given the room quality, I'm a bit surprised Best Western want their brand associated with this hotel, as I wouldn't. I wouldn't recommend the Heath Court and will stay elsewhere next time I visit Newmarket.

"The best bed I have ever slept in"
clocks90, 26 Octobre 2015

I arrived on a busy Saturday afternoon, but was given immediate attention. I found my room quite outstanding. Wonderful bedding! The bar was busy, but I was given immediate service. Amongst all the horse orientated people, I could have felt isolated. I did not. The evening meal was fine, as was breakfast to see me on my way to Swindon!

"FRIENDLY EFFICIENT STAFF IN ALL AREAS"
ROYnJOY, 25 Octobre 2015

Earlier this year we needed a hotel in the Newmarket area for a Sunday night. A search on tripadvisor showed Heath Court Hotel in would be satisfactory,,,, Satisfactory ? ? It surpassed all expectations. Since that first stay I've needed to book a further twice and each time we've been given an upgraded room at no additional cost. I would love to try other hotels in the area but having witnessed the friendliness of ALL the staff, the excellent food, both at dinner and breakfast, the cleanliness throughout and the excellent location I realise another hotel can only be as good (if as good) as Heath Court Hotel in Newmarket. The dining room tables all have crisp white table cloths and shiny clean cutlery and glasses, the waiting staff are all dressed in smart matching outfits. Don't miss the early morning turnout of dozens of horses exercising on the gallops, turn left out the hotel gate and 100 yards up Moulton Road and there they are.

"Good For A Night But Better Alternatives"
James P, 19 Octobre 2015

This is a decent room but thats it. If you need a quick night its a decent choice, but if you are there for more than one night that are better alternatives in the area. It is good for the centre of Newmarket. The room looked out onto a corridor which is not ideal and the TV was rather small. WiFi was patchy at best.

"80's style hotel, little change since then I imagine."
Michael H, 15 Octobre 2015

The hotel is dated, the rooms are tired, the housekeeping is good, but they have their work cut out, because the furnishings are old, the restaurant serves good food, the breakfast is especially good. I stayed on business for four nights, two of which the road outside was resurfaced through the night, there is no double glazing!

"Best Western Heath Court Hotel, Newmarket"
P6290HPjaneh, 15 Octobre 2015

Excellent stay. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful from start to finish. Breakfast was excellent - plenty of choice. Room spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable. Would certainly stay again if visiting the area.

"Love it "
S C, 29 Septembre 2015

I come here through Business. I always ask for a smaller room, and the staff always sort this for me, both blonde ladies on reception couldn't be nicer!! Great staff , friendly & helpful Breakfast is exceptional, I Never leave disappointed.

"Racing weekend"
Sarah D, 27 Septembre 2015

We have stayed at this hotel many times and have decided its time to share our thoughts. The staff are very friendly and helpful and many of them have worked there for a long time. The hotel is well located in the centre of Newmarket close to shops and restaurants and if you like horse racing the hotel is a short walk to watch the race horse's on the gallops early in the morning. The hotel is clean modern and the rooms are always comfortable, with good internet access everywhere. The food in the restaurant is very good quality and plenty of choice and the breakfast is excellent. It is a very quiet hotel even though it is usually full so if your looking for somewhere where there is loud music and lots of people at the bar this is not the hotel for you but if you are looking for a quiet relaxing hotel where the staff are very welcoming and attentive then you should stay here.

"Wedding"
Thomas L, 25 Septembre 2015

Saturday 8th August 2015 I held my wedding ceremony and reception at the Heath Court Hotel. From the day I had my 1st initial meeting with Maxine she has been consent in the help/advise that she provided. I felt that if me or my partner had a problem Maxine was very professional and very efficient. On the day of the wedding the staff looked very smart and were very friendly towards all my wedding guests. The bridal suite was lovely, very comfortable and very quite. I would highly recommend Maxine and the Heath court Hotel. Overall I was very happy with the overall professionalism that I received. Maxine is a credit to the heath court hotel and knows her job incredibly well, she makes an effort to put the bride at ease where she can. She was always on hand via email or phone if I had a question or need to know some information.

"Magic Stay at Newmarket"

We really enjoyed staying here and loved that we could walk to downtown and to the gallops very easily. Staff very friendly and helpful. Washing service although a little expensive it was a first class job and clothes were returned in amazing way. The restaurant facilities were very good for both breakfast and dinner but also well located to access other restaurants in town if required (in walking distance)

"Great People, Great Location, Wonderful Part of The World"

I visited Newmarket over a weekend while on a business trip. The hotel choice was serendipitous as it was a race weekend and I wanted to be near family and friend. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the property was - they are renovating. House keeping and front desk service was wonderful. The manager, Robert Nobbs was very helpful as I looked for suggestions on what to do went the weather got bad.. The restaurant was good and Sunday Roast was marvelous. I would stay here again.
