"Great staff, great location, great value"
We arrived on Sunday and our room wasn't ready by check in time. Things happen, the staff did their very best to accommodate us and get us in our room as quickly as possible. Then the front desk sent up desert for free. The staff really cared about our stay and our experience.. we loved the sushi lab and can't wait to come back when it's warm to do the roof top bar. The location is perfect with a good bar a few door down.

"First time visit to NY"
We were looking for a hotel in Midtown as it was our first trip to New York. This hotel is the ideal location if you are looking for a convenient spot to explore from being only 2 minute walk from Times Square. The hotel itself was fairly small, but was very tidy and the room (Deluxe King) was ideal for what we wanted. We spent very little time actually in the room as we spent most of the 4 days out and about in the City. I had read some slightly negative reviews about the breakfast but we actually found the selection on offer to be more than adequate and only added to the hotels fantastic value for money. We didnt visit the restaurants/bar in the hotel so I cannot give a review of these facilities but they looked good. The staff in the hotel were the icing on the cake for us. They were extremely helpful and so friendly. The team on the front desk are very knowledgeable with various tips for what to do and see. A special mention to Dakota who was an absolute star and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely visit the hotel again.

I appreciate your mentioning breakfast as well, it is an area we are constantly and consistently improving and upgrading; us New Yorkers know better than anyone that a busy day in Manhattan starts with a gratifying morning meal! "Rip Off Do not stay here ."
The staff excellent. This hotel was supposedly booked for Dec 28 th. My flight was canceled so I called the hotel to tell them I couldn't get a flight till Dec 30th. I asked if they would please work with me. They told me that my res wasn't until Jan 28th and that I would have to pay 2700 hundred more with the 1000 I already paid. So that would mean they value there rooms at 900 a night as I was staying for 4 nights. I then asked if I could stay just a couple nights there since zi already paid the 1000 I wad told that would still cost me 1700 for more so 2700 for 2 nights. Really this isn't the plaza hotel. The confirmation for the hotel was hidden and that's I didn't see the wrong dates. So I had to pay for a different hotel in Dec as this was a graduation present. Then I came back in Jan to this hotel so they wouldn't get my money for free and was very disappointed rooms so small.Nothing Great about it. Toilet stopped up first night. I contacted Trip Advisor also and they refused to help

Brenda Sorrells, It saddens me deeply to read so scathing a review, more so due to our excellent track record here on TripAdvisor. I will admit that I am somewhat confused by your post in terms of the exact details of your concerns. What I can glean is the reservation was booked for the incorrect dates, during the most expensive week of the year and there was a disagreement about use of the deposit. Having said that, I have reached out to you personally to see that this matter is satisfactorily resolved, and I extend my sincerest apologies that you were made to feel so unhappy in this situation and I will do everything in my power to make this right. Please feel free of course to reach out to me directly if you should have any questions or are comfortable in speaking further at jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com. "The best stay!"
We stayed here for 5 nights in November 2022 and I honestly couldn't recommend here enough. So close to Times Square and Rockerfellar Centre. Subway stations close too which makes it so handy to get to and from. The staff were amazing!!!! Everyone was so lovely, polite and helpful. They couldn't do enough. The hotel itself was lovely, the lobby was welcoming and rooms were exactly what was needed. There was also a rooftop bar and a sushi restaurant which we unfortunately didn't get to try out but it seemed to be busy a lot and multiple people talking about it. Overall, the most amazing stay and I can't wait to visit again!

"Love, love, love this hotel"
I absolutely loved this hotel. The location is perfect, the rooftop bar Haven has always been a favorite brunch spot. But the shining star of the show were the front desk employees. ALL of them. We arrived early, and after hearing that we had been awake for 25 hours, they whisked us to our room. Later when we were headed out to explore, they alerted us it was raining and handed us an umbrella. We checked out before 5am for departure flight, and the front desk clerk waited outside with us while we waited for Uber to make sure we were safe. The complimentary continental breakfast was substantial and the coffee was great. Close to subway, Rockefeller Center, Radio City,, Times Square, 5th Ave shopping, and an easy walk to Central Park. I will never stay anywhere else. No question.

I really liked this hotel conveniently located in downtown NYC. Charming and comfortable hotel, excellent rooms and cleanliness, courteous at the desk and willing to help you. On the top floor terrace there is a bar-restaurant: the heaven which is truly fantastic. In my opinion highly recommended.

"A Fantastic stay at the Sanctuary Hotel"
We visited the Sanctuary Hotel from the UK in November 22. The hotel was fantastic nothing was to much trouble. The hotel was clean the bedrooms comfortable and the staff were amazing. The help we received in sourcing restaurants to eat in and advise with travel around the city was welcomed. On returning to the UK I e-mailed asking about the pillows as they were so comfortable and Eddie (front office supervisor) went beyond the call of duty to try and ship them out to me unfortunately the cost of shipping was more than the pillow. We as a large family we were made welcome and would definitely would recommend the Sanctuary to family & friends.

"Spiffy and Safe"
I had a very pleasant 3 night stay at the Sanctuary. I loved the feel of the lobby and all of the staff were wonderful. My queen deluxe room was quite spacious for one person or a couple and well appointed. There was a complementary breakfast buffet that saved time and money. Minor issue at checkin when my room was not ready and they spontaneously offered to wave the resort fee. Centrally located.

"Excellent Customer Service"
Stayed here 1/13 - 16. Booked 3 rooms for our family. One of our rooms wasn't ready until 2 p.m. (check in at 3,) however they worked diligently to get us in as soon as possible. Hotel is close to all attractions. Rooms are standard for NYC, however, was impressed with how quiet it was at night time. Pillows were a little to soft for my liking, the shower had GREAT water pressure. Breakfast was included - standard for hotel fair. Rooftop restaurant was very good. Would stay again.

"Perfect weekend stay!"
I cannot say enough good things about this little hidden gem in NYC..Sandwiched between Rockefeller Center and Times square, the location is idea. It was an easy walk up to Central park and down to Bryant Park and The Empire State Building. The staff was wonderful! Very friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel was very clean with well appointed (adorable) rooms with very comfortable beds. We loved the rooftop options too. Haven Rooftop was lively with good food and good service. Sushi Lab was outstanding! With above and beyond service and amazing sushi! The cocktails at both restaurants were top notch. A perk of the Sanctuary hotel was the included breakfast. .. also very good. I would definitely stay here again! My only tip is to make reservations for the rooftops well in advance. There was no availability for walk-ups any evenings. We had planned ahead so this did not bother us.

"Wow, The place to be in New York"
Where do I start? Our 1st time in New York and this hotel was fantastic. Brilliantly situated. The staff were really helpful and happy. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very welcome. A special shout out to the doormen, Ben,Lennon and win. They held the door all the time, made me feel safe whilst I was outside having a cigarette and gave me great tips on subway directions , attractions, places to eat. Just great to have a chit chat with them. They are a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was great and very filling. The rooms were comfortable especially the puffy pillows. Hot drinks by reception made a lovely touch, thank you for that. Very needed after walking for miles every day.Very nicely decorated throughout the hotel. The haven bar looked very pretty although we only toured it as we were exhausted most of the time. In all we were very impressed with our stay and would definitely recommend and return ourselves.

"This is a True Sanctuary"
I am so glad that I had the good fortune to stay in this hotel over the Christmas period. The staff were amazing - all of them. Nothing was too much trouble and, as a solo guest, I felt that I was in a safe environment. The hotel is exceptionally clean and well looked after. Literally 2 minutes from the madness of Broadway and 2 minutes from the relative calm of 6th Avenue. Subway stations in close proximity as are bus stops. Theatres a stone's throw away. Restaurants abound, including two within the hotel. I look forward to returning next Christmas!

This spot is located right in the center of the NYC action. It's waling distance to Times Square, 30 Rock, The Empire State Building and much more. "Great location and amazing staff!"
I booked here last minute after my original hotel closed down unexpectedly. I am so happy I did. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is absolutely the nicest hotel staff I've ever had. We come to NYC for Broadway and Sanctuary is perfectly located for that type of trip. It's half a block from Times Square and a huge chunk of the theatres so walking back to drop something off or quickly change before a show is so much easier than a lot of the other hotels we've stayed at. They have multiple restaurants that you can easily book reservations for right in the lobby. We chose Sushi Lab and were lucky enough to sit at the counter. The food and staff were awesome. It's on the roof, but it's closed in and heated so no worries about eating on a cold January night. The only con about this specific restaurant is that the elevator only goes to the 6th floor so you do need to go up a few flights of stairs to get there and you have to walk by the rooms on the 6th floor so I'm sure it probably gets loud as people leave, but they close pretty early possibly to account for that. The room was great. We had a king room so it was a little bigger than a standard queen room, but even if our room was smaller it still would be a great room. I was surprised and happy that there was a drink fridge and a selection of drinks in there room for purchase. The bed was a bit on the harder side but not too bad and the pillows were very soft. I have some neck issues that the pillows were not good for, but I'll just bring a travel pillow next time. Just a note about the bathroom- The bathroom is different from other hotels. It's not a separate room, but an area closed off by a curtain. We've had this setup before so we were fine with it, but if you're not super comfy with your partner showering right next to your bed then this setup might not be the best for you. The toilet is in its own room though which is different than the other hotels I've been to with this same setup which usually just has the toilet next to the shower. The only real con I found was that our room was right next to the elevator which was very loud all night. There was also an issue with a screeching noise in the hallway one night. It sounded like the fire alarm battery was low. I called about it at around 1am but it didn't get fixed until the morning. Overall we loved staying here and will definitely be coming back!
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Lori L, I can't say that I am particularly happy that another hotel sadly closed its doors, I can admit to enjoying the silver lining that it brought you to us! "The Sanctuary Exceeded All Expectations"
As an NYC "rookie", I booked our stay at the Sanctuary simply based on their location and what seemed to be a good price, but they exceeded our expectations. If you want to be in the middle of the action, this is your spot! Sanctuary is just a half-block off of Times Square, is within walking distance of the theatres, and is a couple of blocks from the subway... in short, it was the perfect hub for our stay! The staff was very friendly and quick to assist... shout out to Eddie for his "How to use the Subway" lesson... he was incredibly kind and helpful! I don't have a basis for comparison to other NYC accommodations, but the room was plenty of space for us since we were not there during the day. We requested additional towels at one point which were delivered to the room within minutes... and they were HEATED... seriously impressed! We were not expecting breakfast to be included but were pleasantly surprised by the nice "continental breakfast" variety. The only dings would be the occasional street noise at night (but it's NYC... there's nothing they can do about that) and no fridge or microwave in the room, but if you're going to be out and about all day anyway, it's not a big deal. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend the Sanctuary to everyone needing a spot in NYC!

"Ideal location for couples- first time in NYC"
Stayed here with my boyfriend from 23-28th December and couldn't have wished for a better hotel. It was first time in New York for both is us and always been my dream to visit over the Christmas period. The hotel is in time square, 2 minute walk from the famous “red steps” and where they do the ball drop on New Year's Eve. Rockerfella centre is a 10 min walk and the subway is only a few minutes away. We got the air train from JFK airport to Jamaica street and then the subway from there to 7th Avenue, really easy to use and cost a total of $10.75 per person and took around an hour altogether. Staff were really friendly from beginning to end and it was lovely being wished a nice day each day when leaving the hotel for the day and being greeted every time we returned, made it feel really personal. The hotel is busy as they have a roof top bar and sushi restaurant that is open to the public so for me that was the only downside. We were in room 711 on the 7th floor and our lift was also the lift that was used to enter the sushi bar on the 6th floor. I would have perhaps felt a little more secure if there was a separate lift for this or if only hotel guests could use a lift using their hotel room key as any member of the public could get onto the floors with hotel rooms on. Although the hotel is right in the centre of time square and busy, we had a peaceful night sleep every night and the bed was really comfortable. The room was small but it was fine for the 2 of us for what we needed, mainly to crash after a long day. The room was clean and daily room service was offered to us but we didn't require it throughout our stay. Maybe would have been nice to have a bath in the room as well as a shower to sooth our feet, especially as the temperature was -15 degrees C for the first 3 days of our stay! We didn't opt to pay for Breakfast when booking the hotel, however on arrival we were advised that all guests have breakfast included as part of the $26 per room per day charge which is a compulsory fee that we had to pay upon checking out. Apparently this is something that all hotels in New York charge despite paying in full for the hotel before arriving. Also had to give $300 security deposit on credit card when checking in but this was a “hold fee” and was released on the day we checked out. Breakfast consisted of cereal, toast, bagels, waffles, muffins, croissants, granola bars, avocado, fruit, jams, tea, coffee, fresh orange and water. It was served every day 7-10am and was fine for us to set us up for the day. The hotel also gave free access to tea, coffee and water 24/7 so it was really good to be able to nip back during the day if we weren't too far away to get a hot drink then head back out as buying drinks out all day can easily add up. Overall, we had a lovely stay here and would recommend to anyone that wants somewhere central to time square and not too expensive. We would return to this hotel if we came back to New York in the future :)

Sammaison, I truly appreciate your sharing your experience with us, and one so detailed at that! That being said, I would like to apologize for some of the issues that clearly interrupted an otherwise lovely stay. We will be replacing the lift entirely in the future for the tower in which you stayed, this will be conducive to not only improving any noise issues, but also in allowing us to install an IF reader to block off Guest floors. Additionally, all of our hotel rooms will be replaced with wireless/digital entry systems as well, an update to look forward to! "Amazing Staff!"
Jimmy and the staff at the Sanctuary Hotel are simply wonderful. They will go out of there way to make sure your stay at their hotel is enjoyable. The hotel is about a block from Times Square and the theater district. It's also within walking distance of Bryant Park and the New Tork Public Library. Delicious food is an elevator ride away at their rooftop resturant called The Haven. I highly recommend staying there.
"New York - Amazing!"
My wife and I returned on 21/12/22 from a 5 night stay at the Sanctuary Hotel and our first time in New York. We could not have picked a better hotel and location. Times Square was on our doorstep, The Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park were all walking distance incl Radio City, Broadway and 5th Avenue. The hotel had a spa hotel feel to it and oozed luxury as you walked into the lobby. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful attending to our every need and answering any questions. They always greeted us on leaving and entering the hotel. The bedroom (double) was a good size, comfy bed and a good size bathroom/shower. The rooms were cleaned and made up daily by the housekeeping staff - thank you! We had an amazing time in New York thanks to our all round experience. We would not hesitate to return in the future.

"Superb Hotel and Superb Staff"
This was my wife and I's first trip to New York. And it won't be our last visit or our last stay.at this superb hotel. We stayed 5 nights here and can honestly say. It was the most amazing hotel we have ever stayed in and the Staff. Are simply wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff was a fantastic help to us. Special mention to Erskine who gave us great advice on how to get to battery park which also saved us money getting a taxi. The hotel room itself was very big. Immaculately clean and the bed was huge and so comfortable, the breakfast in the hotel was also great, there was a great selection Bread, bagels croissants, cakes. Cereals yoghurts, Cheese, guacamole etc plus plenty of drinks. Coffee, Tea, juices. Etc, the dining room was very ambient and cozy and inviting. I really can't fault any aspect of the hotel or the amazing staff. Even when we were waiting for our chauffeur to pick us up when we checked out ,we were invited to sit in the dining room to escape the cold and help ourselves to Coffee and tea etc The hotel itself is stunning ,whilst we never got to try the rooftop bar due to a packed schedule we will be visiting the next time we stay here. The hotel is also close to everything. Times Square, broadway. Diamond district. Subways. Everything within a short walking distance. My Wife and I can't wait to visit New York again and we can't wait to stay at the Sanctuary hotel again. Thankyou to every member of staff who made our time in New York even more magical.

"Holiday Trip"
Spent Christmas holiday in NYC, even though it was cold the trip was great! Hotel is minutes from Times Square and surrounded by numerous places to eat and shop. Staff was very professional, pleasant and welcoming the minute we walked through the doors. Housekeeping was great…thank you Linda!

"Family Visit"
The hotel on appearance seems very lovely, rooms comfortable, clean and all staff very friendly. My issue is and with coming from the UK please note that all hotels will come with tourist tax which I did know about this particular hotel will ask for $300 on a credit card up front & hold it until you leave. It is about $25 tourist tax per night. Which cover tips, Internet etc. The actual occupancy tax is just $1.35 per night which will aslo be added to your bill. After returning home & have checked my credit card statement & the hotel has taken a further payment. My advice is to please check on arrival.
"Quirky but good..."
My family and I stayed here for a few nights on our annual Christmas trip to NYC. This hotel is different certainly not the cookie cutter type hotel room. The hallways are dark and the beds low to the ground...but very comfortable and clean! Everyone was professional and nice. We had a great stay...the one giant negative for us was parking...there is no valet for your car. In fact the garage associated with the hotel of a few blocks away. Hey if you're flying in or coming in by train it's not an issue....but if your driving into the city it is.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Brian s, Despite your displeasure at our lack of Valet, a rarity here in midtown, I am happy to hear you found the rest of your stay to be so enjoyable! We most certainly are not a cookie cutter hotel, that's for certain and it is lovely to hear that you were made to feel so comfortable during your time with us. "Better service than the best cruise ship"
Never had better service. And it was everywhere from the bell captain, front desk, restaurant … even the service elevator that we rode by accident. The rooms are chic, clean and well appointed but to be fair, a bit small. Excellent location. 2 minute walk from Time Square, theaters and other tourist must see locations. We will return.

"Made our NYC trip exceptional"
This hotel is located in an excellent location. Two blocks in most any direction and you are in the middle of everything. Time Square, Rockefeller Center, Subway lines; you name it. The staff was so kind and helpful. Mijena, who I just happened to run into in the hallway had I bucket of ice sent up to the room when I asked if they had an ice machine. The room was well appointed, clean and roomy for a NYC hotel room. When we checked out, Wing, at the front desk assisted in completing our cab request to LGA and took excellent care of us as we waited. They have abundant free coffee in either the restaurant or the lobby. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay.

"Bartonion in usa"
Just had an amazing stay at this hotel it was my first time in the USA and absolutely loved every minute. The hotel was in the perfect location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that we were on floor 9 and did find there was some noise from the roof top bar we used to get woken up about half 3 in the morning by the constant moving of chair's i can only assume it was the cleaning in progress but other than that a fantastic hotel. Thank you the sanctuary

"Fantastic Christmas stay"
From the moment we stepped into the hotel it smelt like Christmas. The sanctuary hotel was exactly that, our home from home for our few days in New York. The staff at reservations and the desk were extremely attentive, friendly engaging and helpful. We were disappointed that the superior room we had booked wasn't available but we were taken care of so well it didn't taint our stay. The complimentary teas and coffees plus a superb continental breakfast were a huge bonus. We loved the hotel, highly recommend and would definitely revisit.

"New York Xmas 2022"
We stayed for 4 nights and the hotel was great. Staff were so helpful and always welcomed you leaving and coming back from your adventures . Breakfast was basic but was enough to get you started for the day and the staff were lovely. We ate in Haven on the rooftop and it was gorgeous and so magical with twinkling lights . Would definitely book again for in order staff, shower lol and location ❤️

"Fantastic stay!"
Coming up to our last day in this hotel, stayed from 5th December up until the 9th. Must say the hotel staff are the gem of this place, every time we leave/come back into the hotel they are so welcoming and kind. Breakfast is basic but has set us up each morning. Hotel room is lovely, shower is amazing and would definitely recommend it to any couples wanting a romantic stay. We also were surprised with the location of the hotel, Times Square on your door step! Very pleasant visit and would definitely stay again!
"Great Place to Stay"
My wife and I stayed here 3 nights for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade/quick vacation to NYC. The staff is attentive and very polite, and one of the most informative and professional staffs I have encountered. Every area of the hotel was clean. The rooms (we had a superior queen) are small but comfortable with an AMAZING shower. Noise wasn't an issue other than a slightly noisy elevator. The room had no view, but you really don't need a view when you are just steps from Times Square and within walking distance of most major attractions in midtown. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and I would say above average. Free breakfast each morning is nice given the dining prices in NYC! We will definitely stay here again if back in NYC.

"Great Location, Service and Comfort!"
It can be stressful booking a place to stay in a city you have never been to. You want a good location, good service and comfort. I knew that Sanctuary Hotel was a winner weeks before I arrived. That's when I called to ask a few questions and spoke with Jimmy, the concierge. He took the time to answer my questions, give advice and recommend activities. After that conversation I knew I had made the right choice. LOCATION: We (another couple and ourselves) were there to see the Macy's parade, a Broadway show and typical tourist activities in New York. This hotel was literally steps, not blocks, from the parade route, Times Square, the subway and more. The only time we used a cab was from the airport to the hotel. Be prepared to walk alot! SERVICE: Arriving dazed from a red eye flight we were greeted by Douglas who helped bring in and store our luggage. After check in we were invited to enjoy breakfast in their lounge while we sorted out the day to come. Throughout our stay the level of service remained high from staff members that gave us dining recommendations, presented lovely breakfast service every morning and welcomed us back every time we stepped in the door. COMFORT: The lounge area they kept open most of the day was a perfect place to sit with a cup of tea or coffee on a break from sightseeing. Since the rooms are smaller it was also good to sit with our friends and visit. We knew the room would be small (deluxe queen) and it was. However it was well designed and comfortable. Donna did a great job keeping it clean and stocked during our stay. She was friendly too : ) It's not a real review unless you give a downside, but I'm sorry I don't have one. Beginning to end I would recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to staying again.

"Fantastic location, quirky hotel"
The location of this hotel is fantastic. They offer a free breakfast which was a great start to the day. All the staff were friendly and the decor of the hotel was really different and boutique style. Room was a little tired but the bathroom was fantastic. My only couple of points are 1) the heating in the hotel is crazy hot. It really could be turned down a couple of degrees. 2) the breakfast is all throwaway plastic plates and cutlery which is a shame given how much focus is on us saving the planet. 3) we had room 416 which was next to the lift and you could hear it. I did ask to move but the hotel was full. It wasn't a dealbreaker but if going I would ask to be away from the lift if possible.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Helen A, Thank you so much for staying at the Sanctuary Hotel for your most recent holiday and I am overjoyed to hear it was so positive an experience! Your note on the sustainability of the plastic cutlery and plates has been noted and I am following up with our breakfast team in reference to your feedback. We are, if you can believe it, looking into biodegradable cutlery and dishes, an initiative we hope to complete before the end of the December! I must say I don't think that I've ever had someone comment on the heat being too intense, but I will certainly look into that! "Very central"
Stayed here for 3 nights and arrived for my 50th birthday. When our room was allocated they had arranged a bottle of bubbly and a large slice of chocolate cake. A lovely surprise. Would recommend this hotel. Breakfast was enough to start the day off. Staff were more than welcoming. Very close to times square but far enough for quiet... only downfall PLEASE GET YOUR BACK LIFT FIXED!! we were placed right beside the lift. Bad idea, only for the tiredness we were able to sleep. No views, but I was expecting that. It didn't matter.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Itiswhatitis, Happy to hear the birthday treat was received so well; I have a sneaking suspicion someone might have emailed me prior to your arrival to set that up! "Perfect Location and Super Staff"
Excellent location right beside Time Square but quiet enough not to hear traffic outside. Very friendly staff who greeted you with a smile every time. The complimentary breakfast was perfect for us - cereals, juice, breads, bagels, pastries, boiled eggs, avocado. Our “double double” room had 2 very comfortable queen beds, and like all NY hotels it was quite compact, but perfectly adequate for us. The room was well cleaned every day with fresh towels etc. I will definitely stay here again. If booking this hotel, I would recommend a room away from the lift as I imagine it could be noisy. The only small criticism I have is the Haven rooftop bar. It has so much potential but unfortunately the staff were disinterested and the service was poor.

"Would 100% go back! "
Back home now, unfortunately we couldn't bring the bed and pillows back with us. We didn't get to use many of the hotels other fine looking facilities, as we slept and then were on the go again early doors to see as much as possible. The location is fantastic! You are right on Times Square, it's just left out the door, walk about a hundred yards if that, and you're standing in the middle of everything. Subways are very easy to find and use, within a five minute walk, you can get north and south of Manhattan as easy as pie. You are always greeted with a smile, and you can have a laugh and joke with the doormen and reception staff. Everyone is so friendly, and not in a fake way either. Again, we didn't stay in for breakfast, purely because we had a list as long as your arm of American eateries to try as we are from the UK, but it was always nice that we could come down from our room and help ourselves to free tea and coffee. The room itself was just spacious enough to be comfortable, plenty of storage, excellent shower, WiFi, blinds, nicely decorated, loads of TV channels, a fridge which was most useful. And as mentioned earlier, the bed was amazing! Overall, myself and my wife would look for this hotels availability first, no problems at all. Thank you for such an amazing stay! We loved it!
"Highly recommend"
This was my first visit to New York so was unsure what too expect after reading reviews . Some saying the rooms were too small . I stayed in a Cozy Queen , my sons in a Double Queen . Yes they aren't the biggest rooms and yes a curtain does separate the sleeping / bathroom are . This I thought worked amazingly !! I felt at home and so comfortable in the room . The shower was amazing , the added touches such a black flannel for make up and plenty of towels . I stayed right next to the lift on the 2nd floor no problems at all with sound . Slept extremely well in the comfiest bed . Each room has a fridge so perfect to store drinks / snacks . The breakfast was just basic as I've read . Yes not a full English ( you are in New York not London ) but oh my the pastries were wonderful, plenty of choice waffles , bagels , toast , cereals and more . The corridors were dark but this just added to the atmosphere. Every member of staff was a delight , all helpful and the housekeeping standards were excellent and carried out by the friendliest team always wishing a nice day with a smile on their face . This was my dream trip I'd looked forward too for a few decades and The biggest of thanks to all the Sanctuary staff for making a part of it just Perfect.
"Lovely hotel"
First the good: Great location - conveniently located near to subway stops. Very friendly staff Very clean Comfortable beds Not so good: Included breakfast was basic and served with disposable plastic plates/cutlery. Good as a snack. No locks on toilets.

"Great location, tiny rooms, no soundproofing and basic (but included) breakfast."
First, the good bits...The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Times Square - really convenient for exploring and subway access. The staff were attentive, pleasant and helpful, assisting with several requests with a no-job-too-small attitude. Also, the shower was brilliant - loads of pressure, roomy and easy to control the temperature. Now the not-so-good bits...the rooms are exceedingly small - maybe that's the norm for NYC, but the pictures on the website make the rooms look bigger than they are. The en-suite is not a separate room, but merely an area with a curtain to partition it from the bedroom. The rooms also had no soundproofing - to the point where you could hear the neighbours using the bathroom, showering and even turning lights on and off. The door to the room provided no privacy from passing guests, again allowing all sound to travel both ways. On a similar note, the air conditioning was quite noisy (though it worked well!). The breakfast, whilst free, was basic - hard boiled eggs, bagels, bread, jams, cereals and apples/oranges. There was no cooked nor continental breakfast available. All items were self-serve on plastic plates with plastic cutlery which wasn't very environmentally-friendly.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Alia D, Overall it would seem your stay was to your liking and for this I am most certainly glad. I am sorry however that you did not find the room to be as comfortable as it should have been. Whilst we do indeed have sound proofing in our rooms, it is clear that in the case of your room this preventative measure failed and again, I do apologize. The staff will be happy to hear your remarks about service and I will also forward your concerns in reference to sustainability of the breakfast cutlery options. "Good hotel in a great location "
My partner and I stayed at Sanctuary Hotel for 5 nights in November. Generally, the hotel was very good! Our check-in was smooth and the gentleman behind the desk (didn't catch his name, but he was absolutely lovely!) was extremely helpful when my English debit card didn't immediately work to take the deposit. Our room was small but comfortable. The bathroom and shower were superb, and both the bathroom and bedroom were exceptionally clean. The breakfast was tasty and I was happy to tuck into a smashed avocado bagel every morning. Nice coffee in the lobby available throughout the day. Location is the real draw, though. Right on the doorstep of Times Square and surrounded by restaurants, bars etc. The few negatives were the loud elevator noises (we were in room 415) and the dark and small bedroom.

"DREADFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE & DISINTERESTED STAFF!"
We booked a 3 day stay ahead of getting on a Cruise Ship. We arrived on my husband's 50th birthday - I had contacted the hotel several weeks prior to arrival to get some help in organising a birthday cake. I received no reply to my first e-mail, the travel agent then e-mailed the hotel on my behalf & the reservations manager responded directing me to contact Jimmy the concierge. Jimmy eventually responded saying the cake came as part of a $75 package, including balloons & signage - which I didn't want - so I asked that a bottle of bubbles be left in the room instead. He said there would also be some kind of marking of the occasion by the Hotel also. On arrival, there was nothing in the room - no bubbles or card or anything out of the ordinary. The moment was lost but I went to reception, spoke to Eddie at the front desk, who was a unable to find any record that the hotel were aware of the occasion (despite the e-mails I had), mentioned that Jimmy had been off work & by way of apology, sent a bottle of champagne to the rooftop restaurant where we were booked to eat later. It did not appear however without me having to seek out the restaurant manager & ask for it! Other comments on our stay as follows: - We were in room 410 - close to the lift (elevator). Without decent earplugs you would NOT be able to sleep. The noise of the lift was horrendous - at first we thought there was building work going on two floors below but eventually worked out where it was coming from. The noise went on all day & night. Luckily we had earplugs. - Our room was a a 'Superior King' - there is nothing 'superior' about it (excpet perhaps the pillows & bedding which were so soft & of excellent quality). It was tiny, basic, with a curtain separating the bed from the shower. - On arrival we met the housekeeper outside our room. She wasn't sure if she had serviced it or not & asked us to check - she had - but not a great start. - There were two windows - one looking straight at a concrete wall - the other into a tiny space - what looked like an outdoor lift shaft surrounded by other rooms' windows(they term it a 'court yard!!) so the room was extremely dark. - We heard other customers at reception complaining about their room & were not surprised. They were making such a fuss they were demanding to be moved... as we were only staying 3 days, we couldn't be bothered, but we won't be back!! The complimentary breakfast wasn't great but it wasn't bad - it consisted of pastries, bagels, cereals, boiled eggs, smashed avocado & apples. - Most surprising & disappointing was the level of service in the Hotel - or lack of it from the front desk staff. When we were checking out, despite the fact that they had booked us a taxi to a cruise ship, the disinterested lady behind the desk, didn't look up from what she was writing & said ' Have a safe flight' - we weren't catching one! Incredibly NO ONE asked us 'How was your stay? ' or 'Was everything ok for you?' ... We were given the bill, which we paid & that was it. I was prepared to give constructive feedback as I am a business owner myself & know how important it is, but this spoke volumes. The staff were completely & utterly disinterested - I imagine most guests who use the hotel are non-Americans as they would not tolerate such standards. I can only assume that they don't rely on, or attempt to attract repeat business. A very, very disappointing start to what thanks to the cruise, ended up as a wonderful holiday.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Dear STYLEACADEMY, I appreciate greatly you are taking the time to share your, admittedly, disappointing feedback. For the sake of transparency, I in fact am "Jimmy the Concierge" you have mentioned in your review above and I am quite frankly flabbergasted at the fundamental failure that you have expressed in reference to celebrating your Husband's Birthday. Whilst you did provide your room number, I was unable to find any booking with the details you mentioned. I would like very much to speak with your directly about this grievous breach of service standards and want to make this right, even after you've clearly already left the city. Please reach out to me at jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com at your earliest convivence, I want this wrong made right. I feel it would be reductive to simply, line by line, either attempt to rebuke or otherwise disagree with your feedback as I am in no position to question the reality of what you feel you experienced. I can simply offer my sincerest apologies that you found your stay to be so surprisingly disappointing and you have my word that you feedback will be taken quite seriously. One note that I will of course comment on would have to be your comments on service. I will most certainly be following up with the entire Front Office Team about your review and part of that will of course being certain that consistent, personal, and memorable service (as is very clear indicated by the countless reviews commending it) is our continued goal for each and every Guest. I am pleased that your cruise was an outstanding success and do hope that you will in the future return to New York City. Even if you should stay elsewhere, our beautiful city is one that should not be missed! James Valdez Guest Services Manager The Sanctuary Hotel
"A slice of heaven nestled in the Heart of Times Square"
Second time staying at the Sanctuary. I love the helpfulness of the front desk staff as well as every other employee we've had contact with. From the gentleman who opens the door to the employee who brings your bag to the room this staff seem to work well together and show enthusiasm for their jobs. I also found the housekeeping staff friendly and tended to making up our room each day with a sense of priority. We ate at Sushi Lab and Haven both of which were good in terms of food and service. So nice after a busy day to not have to look elsewhere for drinks or dinner. Had no problem booking for either restaurant upon arrival. Yes, outside customers dine at these popular spots within the hotel so reservations are a must. The hotel also provides a free continental breakfast. The muffins are delicious and the coffee is A+ The Sanctuary a great value for the price and my husband and I will definitely stay there again.

"Great hotel"
Our first time in New York abd what a gem of a find this hotel was. From check in to check out they couldn't do enough for us. The room was lovely. Thick curtains kept out the light and a huge bed. Very comfortable. Breakfast was basic but enough to give us a good start. Every time we came in someone said welcome back. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night and the food was amazing. Just round the corner from Times Square it was the perfect location to do all the tourist things and be home quickly. We are thinking of returning to New York next year and will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel. Thank you to everyone for a lovely stay.

"Terrible Hotel"
The hotel was dark, glass shower with no privacy is creepy and the elevator absolutely atrocious. It is VERY loud and you hear it every time it runs. Food was mediocre. Had to call three times to try to even get room service and it was awful, pizza was burnt, said they were even out of water so didn't bring that. Continental breakfast was full of dry pastries and bagels. Nothing hot to choose from. To take the cake I booked through Delta Vacations. At checkout the front desk confirmed that the reservation was paid through a third party, then I got charged on my card anyway. When I called the hotel to have them adjust it, they were very rude, so now I am working with the credit card company to dispute it. Most of the staff was rude with the exception of the doorman.

Dear Jenilee R, I appreciate, truly, your taking the time to share your feedback though of course I would that the said feedback was more positive than it was. Given your concerns with the ambiance, room layout, and feelings of discomfort, it is possible that boutique hotels might night be to your proclivity. I share your frustration with the repeated issues you ran into with our Food & Beverage venues and rest assured your feedback will be shared with the appropriate departments. We advertise our breakfast as continental to set the expectations of our Guests but I am sorry to hear you found it to be inadequate. It is vital to us that our Guests are as transparent as possible with us when it comes to what areas we can improve and your words will most definitely be taken into account. Whilst I do not know the particulars of the situation you described upon departure, I would very much like to assist you in having this remedied as quickly as possible. Please reach out to me at jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com and I will quickly make certain in is resolved. I do truly apologize that you found your stay as unsatisfactory as you did. Great location in the theater district. Small but very comfortable room - excellent shower, comfortable bed. Very helpful staff. Efficient elevators - only 8 floors plus a rooftop restaurant. Good experience all round.

"Much better than expected"
I read the reviews for this hotel only days out from visiting and started worrying as there were so many negative reviews. Well I'm glad that I didn't cancel and rebook someplace else as this hotel was absolutely lovely. Yes the rooms are small but they are nowhere near as tiny as some have implied. The breakfast is basic but it does the job just fine. The location is amazing and the rooftop bar was a chill place to hang out I'd definitely stay here again

"Hidden Sanctuary"
I was looking for a centrally located hotel and Tripadvisor nailed it! I hadn't heard about Sanctuary before and I will definitely be a return visitor. Friendly staff, lovely rooms, fun roof-top restaurant. I was in town during Climate Week and it was the perfect location - out of the fray but walkable to all events. Definitely recommend this!

rooms ok, bed good, no coffee/tea in room. Few mins from Time Square, loads of good bars n food place on door step. If your going download the Sightseeing App on ya phone saves you loads. Hot dogs, and huge flats, as the wife called them.

"Great little hotel"
Great little hotel in a good location with a breakfast buffet included, comfy clean rooms. Reception, bellboys, maid service were all excellent. If you are looking for a good hotel in a central location then I'd recommend this hotel. Added bonus of two restaurants including a rooftop one.

"Comfortable Stay!"
Recently stayed in the Sanctuary for 5 nights. The location of the hotel is perfect, a lot of the main attractions are easy to reach from here. From check in to check out, all members of staff we encountered were more than helpful. Corridors were very dark which we found a bit unusual. There was a continental breakfast provided each morning (bagels, pastries, yogurts, cold boiled eggs, Avocado, fruit) tea and coffee. Tea and Coffee was available all day also although we did find the water was somewhat lukewarm in the evening time. The Haven Rooftop - I'd HIGHLY recommend you prebook this prior to your arrival at the hotel if you know you'd like to dine there a night. We initially booked for the evening of our arrival however as they had a private booking, they asked if i would like to book an alternative evening so we booked Friday, management provided a free drink due to this! Tasty food and cocktails. Rooms are small, but they're comfortable and clean as is the bathroom. Overall, we were pleased with our stay and would book here again:
"Old tired hotel in major need of refurbishment but charging premium prices simply due to location"
Checking in was a fiasco taking an inordinate amount of time and multiple staff looking and poking at their screens resulting in my having to put two holding deposits down on my card as their system failed to recognise the first one and the staff insisting I put through another one despite my showing them one had already gone through in my bank account. Now waiting for a refund/ release. The hotel decor is very dark, macabre and basic. Everything is tired, worn with wall paper peeling off the walls, scratched doors. Chipped tiles in the shower cubicles, cracked sinks, missing fixings, stick on hooks, seats with missing buttons which injure you if you sat on them. The lifts are archaic like something from the Adams family and at times I was seriously concerned they would malfunction. The absolute worst thing is the noise. You can hear next door talking. The windows let 99% of the outside noise in which is unbearable without ear plugs (in central New York) when trying to sleep. The beds were very small, are over soft and unsupportive so I woke with a bad back. Self-serve breakfast is in a communal school-canteen-like room with breads and breakfast bars. There were hard boiled eggs but they were the most tasteless eggs I'd ever sampled. The toaster malfunctioned and so was out of order. Checking out was another drama and took 3 staff members and 20 minutes of my life. They had lost my card details and needed me to reproduce my card to pay for the resort fee. The only saving grace was that they did waive the resort fee to partially compensate for the pain. Old tired hotel in major need of refurbishment but charging premium prices simply due to location. The reception staff all seem in dire need of re training as they don't appear to know what they're doing! I would recommend you pay the same rates at the Marriott Marquis 100 yards away and get a premium stay where we have also experienced so know what “excellent” looks like.
"Misleading pictures and reviews"
Pictures are very misleading - the hotel is actually dirty and not well maintained. Rooms are minuscule depressing boxes. While centrally located for tourists looking to stay in Times Square, there are FAR better options in other parts of the city for less. Would never ever stay here again.
"Great stay - Great staff"
We stayed at Sanctuary for my daughters 30th. Great location right on Times Square. Staff very helpful and friendly , would defo recommend Vincent, William and Miguel Thank you great customer service !!
"Excellent....will definitely return"
I've stayed in many NYC hotels over the last 30 years. For me and my husband this was excellent because our room was sooooooo quiet and they have the proper shades and window coverings so that you can blackout all light. We could not have cared less that the room was small, they make excellent use of a small space....we're only there to basically sleep and be in a great location to all the museums, shows, etc. The staff was great, the place was totally clean. Will definitely return.
"Avoid at all costs! Tiny rooms, not clean and no access to bar despite being resident."
Do not believe the reviews for this hotel. Rooms are dreadful, very very small, not clean and everything is so dark. (I am pretty sure dark to hide the mess). As residents can't even use the hotel bar as they rent it out for private functions. I was sent to the bar 4 doors down. Staff were not organised. One blamed the other but there was zero care for residents. No water to drink in the room and NO place to even buy a bottle. (Remember bar shut to residents and no room service). Honestly - worst hotel I have ever stayed in in NYC and will never be back. Finally - iron is so dirty it marked my shirt - that's basics that need sorting. Told the concierge and reaction was non-plus. Have to wait on housekeeping coming in to sort! Dreadful dreadful - avoid.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Dear WoodsideHouse, I must say I am completely taken aback by your review. Not in so much that I feel your concerns to be invalid, but more so that they run counter to every principal and standard of service we pride ourselves on and likewise something our reviews stand for as testament. I see you mention several times about the rooms being not clean or messy but I cannot seem to find any specific mention of what exactly you found to be the issue. If any such housekeeping discrepancy were to be brought to our attention we would immediately have it resolved with our sincerest apologies and an amenity for good measure. Our staff was unorganized, but as it pertains to what service and what interactions lead you to believe that our staff, lauded for their Guest Service as evidenced below, have no care for our Guests? We have coffee, two kinds of infused water, and tea available 24-7 for our Guests and whilst we do not have mini bars at the moment, we can happily, easily have any matter of bottled water send to Guests rooms if they so wish. Your frustrations with not being able access our rooftop are palpable and I can offer no less than my sincerest apologies for what is a tangible and unacceptable inconvenience. There are in fact times when the Haven Rooftop is fully booked and though we try our hardest to make certain our Guests can enjoy it, that is not always possible. If you were sent 4 doors down to another bar, it was only to give you options in the area as opposed to simply turning you away without consideration. Nonetheless, I once again, apologize. Your shirt being damaged by an iron is completely unacceptable and if you were not reimbursed for this error I would ask very much that you reach out to me at jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com and I will make certain it is done. I would in fact very much like to speak with you in reference to your time with us as a whole and discuss your feedback in an extended manner. I appreciate you taking the time, despite it being disappointing, to share your thoughts about your time with us and thank you for staying with us again. "Great hotel in the middle of everything"
This hotel was great! MUCH more than I expected for around $200/night. Hotel staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean (some furnishings a bit worn, but in a way that just indicates that this is a well-used hotel.) The bed was extremely comfortable. Continental breakfast was good (pastries, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt). Literally steps from Times Square, and about a block from the two shows we saw as well as Rockefeller Plaza. Subway access a couple of blocks away. Would ABSOLUTELY stay here again!
"Great location"
I originally booked the Redbury Hotel for my partners 30rh birthday but due to covid and staffing they rearranged our booking to the sanctuary. We arrived New years eve and enjoyed 4 nights in this beautiful hotel. Location is fab! I was pregnant at the time so made use of the tubes at the end of our road. The hotel is right in the middle of times square which was perfect for bringing in the new year amd your just a short walk to the main attractions top of the rock and central park. We visited a show whilst there and again was in walking distance from the hotel so perfect location. I didn't pay for breakfast but I mentioned at check in we were here for a 30th and they upgraded our room and gave us complimentary breakfast. The rooms are so comfy and modern with a beautiful walk in glass shower. It just felt like you were staying in a typical new York Hotel from the movies. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. If your looking for somewhere to for a short city break in New York I would recommend this place.

"Fabulous location for NYC"
We decided to take a quick getaway to NYC and see a taping of a show at the Fox news building. I found the Sanctuary was close, reasonable & had a rooftop restaurant/bar. So, I booked for 2 nights. Honestly, I couldn't of asked for a better location. Half a block from the center of Times Square, the show at Fox was literally, directly across the street and great restaurants all around. The room was small, but it is NYC. It was modern, quiet & clean. The only complaint would be the door to the toilet weighed a ton and was so difficult to close, we opted to just use the curtain for the entire bathroom area, not a game changer by any means. Continental breakfast was included & was what you would normally expect. Coffee was very good, think it was Starbucks. My biggest disappointment was the rooftop bar, which could also be my own fault. Getting a reservation was close to impossible. Thursday, due to private events, we couldn't access until after 9pm. Too late for us after traveling, seeing the show & walking around. Tried for Friday, no openings. After traveling around the city all day, no luck. Then standing outside, we see folks walk up to the doormen, wearing casual clothes & sneakers ushered up to the restaurant, said specifically that they did not have reservations. I was thinking, huh??? Guess I should have asked more, but assumed I needed reservations. Never got to the rooftop. Moral of the story, either make reservations as early as u can ahead of staying and/or ask more questions. I would definitely stay here again. Location & cleanliness are key!!

Dear Lisa, As thrilled as I am that you enjoyed your stay with us, I am saddened that you were unable to enjoy our Haven Rooftop. "Best hotel with best staff"
We are at this hotel just now, we felt compelled to write this review as soon as possible, from the minute we arrived the friendly door men Doug (the taxi man) and Rashid made us feel so welcome, the hotel is a super chic boutique hotel with an excellent rooftop bar, with restaurants and the amazing Haven. I am a travel agent in the UK and I will be recommending this hotel to all my clients, rooms are spotlessly clean, modern. Doug and Rashid who both work long hours always make time to chat and advise all visitors, they are very much an asset to the image of the Hotel. Looking forward to visiting again hopefully soon, thank you to all staff
"Avoid"
Booking reference 254-3005910 We stayed at the Sanctuary for 7 nights from 26th May. I was going to write a positive review and mention the good location, friendly staff, lovely roof top bar but poor breakfast. However.................. At check in we were told "your room is all taken care of, we will take $300 from your card for incidentals and refund any money not used when you check out" We spent just over $80 in the roof top bar during our stay. When checking out we were told "your room is taken care of and we will refund the balance of your $300 immediately" The hotel took $264.04 from my card rather than the expected $80 leaving me overcharged by $180 - $185 I've written to the hotel twice and not received the courtesy of a reply. The booking agent contacted the hotel on my behalf and were told they have given me a refund but it can take up to 30 days to process. Well it's now 42 days since we checked out and no refund. So no reply to my correspondence and what looks like a complete lie to the booking agent. My advice is to AVOID!

Dear SteveRDay , I thank you kindly for the review you might have left and my true and sincere apology for this terrible situation that has developed. I have a feeling that there may have been crossed wires in reference to where your correspondence was sent to; I say this only because our email system is monitored 24 hours a day and I cannot fathom that in 42 days time not a single member of the reservation staff responded to your email. The fact that this is seemingly EXACTLY what happened is all the worse and again, I apologize greatly. I would ask, as kindly as I can, for you to reach out to me directly and I will make certain this is taken care of. I can be reached directly at jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com. "Front desk - terrible customer service, be prepared to wait 30+ minutes for your reserved room"
I had a 2-night stay at the hotel, and our check-in process was the worst that I have ever experienced at any hotel. Terrible, slow and rude customer service at the front desk. One desk person made a snide comment about my appearance, and when I politely asked if our room was available after waiting 30 minutes for it in the lobby (at the normal check in time), another front desk person told me that their policy is that the room is available anytime after 3PM, not AT 3PM, which makes no sense at all. The lobby was full of people waiting for their rooms, which took much longer than we had planned or expected. The manager was right next to the front desk person as he made me feel like I was asking for something wayyyy over the top to have a room ready that I reserved, at the check in time. Strange and terrible experience, would not recommend this hotel unless you don't mind waiting and having awful customer service at the front desk area. I am an easygoing person, so completely thrown off guard with the rudeness. These front desk clerks clearly need better customer service training and they should move the check-in time to 4PM if 0 rooms are available for multiple people checking in at 3PM.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Dear Ktandthewaves, I thank you kindly for taking the time to leave your feedback in reference to your time at the Sanctuary. I feel there is no point in attempting to obfuscate your complaint and get straight to the point. I am horrified that your experience with our front desk was as unacceptable as you've described. As can be witnessed by the countless reviews that laud the excellence of our team here at the Sanctuary, I find this to be extremely disappointing. Whilst it is accurate that our check in time is any time AFTER 3:00pm EST, and whilst I cannot vouch for the "lobby full of people" waiting for their room, it is important that our team communicate accurately the availability of our rooms. We do not guarantee a specific time for check in chiefly due to the fact that are times when, for a number of reasons, a room may not be ready at an EXACT time and, having given that EXACT time, we have now disappointed the Guest by breaking our word to them. Regardless of the "technicalities" of our check in system, what is clear is that the service you received was far below standard and, once again for this I apologize for. I would be happy to discuss the details of your booking further should you wish to and ask that you email me directly at jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com. I thank you again for taking your time to share your thoughts and assure you that we will do our upmost to correct the errors in service you experienced. "Beautiful Hotel in a Great Location"
The hotel was great, room while not large was extremely well done. The people were great very helpful and extremely welcoming. The only downside to our trip was that the A/C did not work. There is a great roof top bar and separate sushi restaurant.

"Great hotel a three-minute walk to Times Square. Yes, really!"
My stay at Sanctuary was terrific! Location is outstanding. Service is very good. William was consistently helpful and looking to assist. Yes, the rooms are fairly small. But if you do your research, you know that going in. And the price was quite competitive for a nice hotel in this location.

"Not great"
We stayed June 7-10. The only reason I gave an average rating is the doormen were very friendly and helpful. The room is very small and the windows let no natural light in but that is not why I rate it low. They advertise stocked mini bar in the room. They don't have that however having an empty mini fridge is nice because you have to walk the CVS or Walgreens to purchase anything you might want to drink even water. In the reception area they do have small plastic cups in which you can get a little drink of water. We could not go to the rooftop restaurants because they were booked our entire stay. They cater to non guests. If you arrive back to the hotel as the non guests are waiting to go upstairs you will have to wait behind them to get the elevator. We were told we could go and get a drink 15 minutes before the restaurant closed. They advertise this rooftop as a guest as well but it is not available. If you really want to stay there I'd suggest making reservations in advance for the restaurants. The continental breakfast was just like any other. Cereal and pastries. I recommend staying elsewhere. I sent a message on the hotel website about our experience and suggested Maybe considering the paying guests. No response to date.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Dear Teresa M, I do hope this finds you well and I thank you, truly, for taking the time to share your experience here at the Sanctuary. Having said that of course I cannot help but be saddened that your stay was clearly less than ideal. Our mini bars were completely emptied during COVID and at the moment as you mentioned, incorporate the the mini fridge. To complement this, we sell all manner of beverages behind our front desk, including water, 24 hours a day. It is clear from what you've mentioned, this fact was not shared with you and for that I do sincerely apologize. Our Haven Rooftop is quite a popular place and we do our absolute best to make certain our Guests are able to enjoy it though of course, simply due to reservations, this is not always possible. Having said that, there is NO scenario where a Guest should be made to wait in any sort of line, be it to the elevator or the restaurant. I will absolutely follow up with my security team in regards to scenarios like this and, again, please accept my heartfelt apologies that you were made to experience otherwise. What a fantastic hotel!! Excellent location with easy access to all amenities. We stayed for 5 nights and found the room very comfortable, fantastic shower, wonderful bed and cleaned daily to a high standard. Made full use of the breakfast which had fantastic choices of bagels pastries cereals juice and hot drinks. Special mention to the guys on the door who were very helpful and friendly every time we popped in and out during our stay. Thanks for making the trip so special.

"Highly recommended hotel"
First, the hotel is in an excellent and convenient location in the city. Second, All of the hotel staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Next, the room was nice and quiet. Lastly, we ate dinner on the rooftop and the service and food were very good. The only recommendation I have is that when it comes time to change the color scheme in the hotel, I would recommend going with lighter, softer colors. But again, we were very pleased with our stay and recommend it to all readers making a trip to NYC.
"Fabulous"
Stayed at this hotel from 7th-14th May, I would highly recommend this hotel, midtown Manhattan. Close to Times Square. The Hotel it's self was beautiful, the room it's self was great, shower was just perfect after a day out in New York, Had great Blackout blinds… which is a must in a city that never sleeps. The staff themselves were so genuine and friendly and made us feel really welcome everytime we stepped through the door. The breakfast included was a plus.
"Sanctuary in Times Square"
I was extremely impressed by the beautiful interiors and the styling of the rooms. I cannot emphasise enough how comfortable the rooms are and partially due to the way they are styled with fabrics and colour schemes that make you feel like you are home away from home. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the sushi restaurant is to die for.
"Great location, tired property"
Great location if you want to be near Times Square. Fixtures and fittings are tires and dated. The bed was really comfortable if not I feel we would have been looking to find another hotel. Our room was more like a modular room as there was only a curtain separating the bedroom from the shower/sink area. Not much chance of someone sleeping while you had a shower. First impressions were great as you were welcomed by door staff before you walked into the dim lit interior. More of a outdated look rather then boutique look.
"Excellent stay"
Considering Times Square is very busy (especially now as the covid restrictions are being lifted) this is a perfect choice to be in the middle of everything yet have a peaceful and relaxing stay. The hotel has been renovated and up-to-date, the staff is one of the friendliest I've seen in a long time and the location is impeccable. The room is tiny, as they all tend to be in NYC, but its design is optimal with pretty much everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only tiny thing I'd suggest would be is a coffee maker.:) They serve complimentary coffee in the lobby so that makes it up. The breakfast is included, which includes hot and cold drinks, pastries and eggs. Enough to start your day and spare some space for a delicious lunch somewhere else... Also their rooftop bar/restaurant is cute, albeit you can't really see a lot around as the surrounding buildings rise much higher. To sum it up: great staff, comfortable room (excellent mattress and pillows!) and perfect location.
"The Staff From the Sanctuary Hotel is a Great Help when New York streats are Blocked !"
Excellent stay , room and brekfest included, but the Best thing Ever: today the City was blocked because of the Marathon and the Hotel Staff ( two people at least ) helped us to find our way to the taxi impossible to approach .. gave us all constructive informations .. where to go .. carried our luggage trough New York .. and found a way to get us a nice cab .. so We ´ ve made it and got on time to our expensive train with non-refundable tickets ! The Perfect Staff is what makes a Perfect Hotel when one finds himself in trouble !
"Great location and spacious rooms."
We spent two nights at the Sanctuary Hotel and as previous reviews stated, staff was great, very friendly. The location is near Times Square and close proximity to restaurants and shopping. The suite room is fantastic. I would stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking in the area.
"Sight seeing"
We paid for an upgraded room and it is spacious, clean and comfortable. Bed is huge and sheets are soft! However, it is very noisy at night and early in the morning with traffic and building works next door. We are disappointed there are no tea/coffee facilities in our room and have to go to the Lobby for refreshments. Breakfast is pleasant. Calm and adequate. Enough of what we want and good selection. This is a special 60th birthday treat so money we'll spent!
"Incredible hotel and staff"
We spent 3 nights at the Sanctuary Hotel. Staff were absolutely incredible… helpful, friendly, accommodating ! They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The location is optimal - right by time square and in close proximity to basically everything. The only criticism would be the breakfast; it was a bit basic and choices were limited however we think this was due to covid and minimising infection risk? It would have also been nice to have a tea and coffee station in the room. Besides this, we will definitely be back to stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to New York
"Great experience, to be recommended..."
Perfect location, staff exceptionally customer minded, nice room, clean well maintained room. quite atmosphere after a busy day in NY, water coffee and thee available at the reception, wonderful rooftop bar !!!
"Great little hotel!"
We stayed at the Sanctuary in April 2022. We booked two king sized rooms with the City view. We loved it! It is interesting and quirky but really clean and very safe. The Long Acre Tavern next door was a great place to eat (we ate there three times) after a long day of exploring. The staff are really friendly and were always helpful to this stereotypical suburban family of four. We would stay there again.
"Just Average!"
We had a four night stay at this hotel for our visit to NYC. Great location near Times Square if you are going to see Broadway Plays and shows which we did for all four nights. Staff was very kind and pleasant. Breakfast coffee and muffins were very good. Our room in the East wing was small with a very nice size bathroom with a great shower. Our view was a brick wall and fire escape. The CONS Hot water took about 5 minutes to get hot wasting gallons of water. Sushi Restaurant door kept on slamming shut and people talking very loudly outside made this room very unpleasant at times Lots of construction two doors down will happen for a long time. They are closing the street on 4/11 for large cranes. Next visit in NYC would find me in a hotel on the upper west side. Times Square is just not my thing.
"Excellent"
Booked this last minute for 3 night stay with friend. Rooms spacious for New York & bathroom had the best shower. Free coffee at reception all day & a basic continental breakfast included. I would definitely stay her again, good location, clean rooms and helpful staff.
"First visit to NYC "
5 night stop to visit NYC. The hotel is in a very good location for Times Square. Reception door staff very friendly, room ok clean & tidy. Breakfast not, dont understand why hotels are not doing full breakfast instead of box! Staff not interested, not a warm.and friendly experience when you can go out and have a breakfast with full selection include plates and cutlery! What was a disappointment was simply lack of bar facilities. Bar restaurant at top hotel seemed nice but as guests of hotel you have to book in competition with casual visitor's. What was poor is no bar for guest, if you did use bar at 22:15 last orders bar closed 22:30 in the city that never sleeps. Might give hotel a break on breakfast if it is purely down to Covid and government rules but lack ob interest from staff cannot be excused. Nice location, front desk and door staff friedly and helpful with a warm greeting.
"Hidden gem"
Planning a special retreat for a mother and daughter worked beautifully thanks to the staff at the Sanctuary hotel NYC. Nothing was left to chance and Jimmy (general manger) was an absolute pleasure to work with. They were given the VIP treatment and the location was perfect for a visit to CBS studios.
"Above and beyond our expectations"
The staff are amazing and very attentive, the hotel has very nice decor and clean rooms, conveniently situation for most attractions. Dont pay resort fees elsewhere when you can stay in this hidden gem.
"Lovely hotel"
We've just arrived back after a 4 day stay at this hotel. It's just off Time Square, so quite central. On arrival staff were friendly and helpful. Lifts to all floors Room was clean with plenty of towels. Room was OK size for us for such a short visit. We were hardly in our room. Which were changed every day and shower gels, shampoos and conditioner. Breakfast was a box of goodies, as much tea, coffee or juice as you like. With being off time square you would think with a city that doesn't sleep you would get alot of noise. Not really didn't hear much the odd siren going past but that was it. In all nice place to stay, would we stay there again yes we would. Many thanks.
"Comfortable Clean friendly in the heart of NYC's Time Square district!"
Sanctuary Hotel is in a great location, has a great staff and comfortable clean rooms. Just one block from Time Square with a roof top sushi restaurant with unique rolls this is a great boutique hotel for business, Vaca, or theater district experience. I hope this hotel never changes because I plan on returning.
"Fantastic stay!"
We have just arrived home this week from a 4 night stay at the Sanctuary Hotel. I can honestly say that this was hands down the best hotel experience I have had compared to other trips to NYC. From start to finish the staff were friendly & helpful. We had 2 rooms booked, a double for 2 adults and a ‘double, double' for 1adult & 2 x 14 year olds. The room for 2 adults was small, granted! But it had everything you need for a stay in Ny. Our family room was a great size with 2 big comfortable beds. Separate bathroom with double sink and double walk-in shower. We didn't have a great view really but at night there was no traffic noise at all which was fantastic! Room had air con/heating and we had good nights sleep each night. We had continental breakfast included every morning with coffee & water available 24 hours! The location of the hotel is also fantastic, 2 second walk to the end of the road and you're in Times Square! We had a fantastic break here, it was worth the 2 year wait through Covid to finally be able to enjoy our special birthday trips (my delayed 40th & my mums delayed 60th) I hope that one day we can return to enjoy all that the hotel offers again!!
"Excellent location. Excellent service."
Rooms exactly as photo depicted. Room and hotel very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location can't be beat. Multiple subway lines easy to access. Others complained about construction noise but when the windows were closed you couldn't hear anything. Box breakfasts and coffee and tea available in lobby but you do have a fridge in your room. Really can't say enough good things. We will be back.

"No hot water, dingy rooms"
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel based on reviews, and will never stay here again. Two of the main purposes of a hotel are a nice bed to sleep in and a place to shower and get cleaned up. The second morning of our trip, the whole hotel had no hot water. My husband and I took freezing cold showers. The front desk was unapologetic when we let them know, and even seemed annoyed at us. The front desk and concierge employees were all apathetic, honestly, about everything- even just casual pleasant conversation. The only highlights of this hotel were the friendly doormen and the lovely waitress at the rooftop bar. Also note there is construction happening outside this building. You may find yourself in a room overlooking scaffolding strewn with empty soda bottles and other debris. We were there over a weekend, so thankfully did not experience any construction happening. Just be aware if you book during a work day.

Dear sa6409 Thank you kindly for taking the time to let us know about your time with us; it is truly a shame however that you found it to be so much to your distaste. On March 13th 2022, the entirety of 47th street seemingly lost access to hot water and unfortunately that included us. As a matter of fact, I myself was here at the desk, it is very likely you spoke to me directly. I can say that some Guests understood the situation was out of our control, and others were, understandably, frustrated and aggravated. I am sorry that you felt the interaction to be unapologetic, as you can imagine we fielded quite a few calls that morning, but that certainly is no excuse for a lack of decorum in service. Likewise, as difficult as I find it that the staff were as apathetic as you've stated, the many reviews here on staff can attest to that, I am truly sorry you were made to feel that way. I will say that I will be certain our door team is made aware of your positive comments about them and I thank you for that! We strive to create unique, unforgettable experiences for our Guests and feedback such as yours allows us to grow and reflect on our service. I hope to see you again soon and as you know, please let me know if you require any assistance! James Valdez Guest Services Manager The Sanctuary Hotel
"Great theater district hotel!"
The Sanctuary is perfectly located near all the Broadway theaters. My room was clean, comfortable, and stylish - even came with a complimentary continental breakfast! Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning here on future NYC visits. Note: when I returned home, I realized I left some belongings in my room. The hotel staff graciously recovered them for me and shipped them to me. Terrific service!

"Family Vacation to NYC"
I am blown away by the top-notch service we recieved at this hotel, best I've ever been treated by any hotel staff. They went above & beyond to help us regardless the question, big or small. Our flight was cancelled the day we checked out, we returned within an hour & they just smoothly checked us back into our rooms for 2 more days. Fantastic front desk staff. The hotel is really uniquely decorated, it has a somewhat elegant, Gothic feel to it, with dim lighting in the halls and lobby. I LOVED IT. The room we got was the larger deluxe King & the size was perfect for a 4 day stay. Great shower set-up, comfy bed, great mini fridge, nice & quiet room. Maybe a little more storage for clothes but that's miniscule. Superb location practically right in Times Square, close to EVERYTHING. Will definitely stay here when I return.
"Feb Break Get-a-way"
We just wrapped up our 2 night stay at the Sanctuary Hotel. There are pros and cons to this hotel leading me to give it 3 stars, and although our stay was fine, with so many options I would choose a different hotel for our next visit. Pros: - good value - comfortable bed - nice staff - great location - restaurant - atmosphere Cons: - It was myself and 2 teen boys and the room was small (even for NY) and the bathroom even smaller - room itself seemed clean but stains on curtains and wall - included breakfast was grab and go and left a lot to be desired - lobby was well appointed esthetically, but lacked snacks, waters, etc
"Amazing Value and Location"
I honestly do not understand the negative reviews about The Sanctuary. This is our 7th night here and we are beyond happy. Are the rooms small? Yes, but we got a king deluxe to add a bit more square footage, and also, you're right smack dab in Times Square, so you'll be out and about most of the time you're not sleeping. Plus, the beds here are among the most comfortable I've ever slept in away from home. The shower is fabulous. Though the hotel is close to a lot of action, it's quiet, aside from the occasional street noise, which you'll encounter throughout the city. The Haven Rooftop restaurant and bar is fabulous. We were here visiting friends from Philadelphia and all of us were exceedingly pleased with this clean, friendly, well-appointed hotel. Oh, and the staff members are attentive and helpful. We'll definitely return.
"TINY rooms but fine for the price"
Chose this based on reviews…the rooms are TINY- probably the smallest I've ever stayed in while in NYC- but that was fine since we were never in the room. The bed is comfortable and the room ample enough for a couple or single. There is no water in the room (even for purchase) and no water offered anywhere in the hotel- that was annoying. The staff is nice and the lobby cozy with a fireplace. Centrally located to subway and Times Square- east to get around and walk uptown or downtown.

Dear Meeshmartin, Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out about your experience here at the Sanctuary and I am happy to hear it was mostly positive. At the moment our minibars are undergoing a complete revamp and as such all minbar items including beverages (re: water) are available at the front desk. You were quite clearly never told this given your comments and for that I do truly apologize. Coffee, tea, and water is available in our lobby 24 hours a day for our Guests to enjoy but bottle water is basic necessity; for this again, I am sorry. "Perfect location"
This hotel has a nice intimate vibe to it and has perfect location, within meters you are in Times Square and it's great for walking everywhere - from hotel 20mins and you're in Madison Square Garden or from hotel 20mins in opposite direction you're in Central Park. We booked a standard room and have to admit, the room was on a small side. After NYC we were travelling to Canada to go skiing so we had a lot of luggage and it was tight. However I think they have bigger room options available for additional fee. Additionally there were no doors to the bathroom or wardrobe (they use curtains instead - my only wonder is how often they change/wash them), however rest assured, the WC has a sliding door! Whilst I didn't expect amazing views, one of our windows was overlooking cement wall and the other was looking into a another room's window. This is not something I'm used to (maybe it's a norm in NYC with all the skyscrapers) and this also meant that very little natural light would come into the room. As I was planning to be out and about doing things around NYC, it didn't bother me too much but something to bear in mind for others. Our room was right next to the steps to the Sushi lab/rooftop bar so it was quite loud in the evening with people coming and going. If you are a light sleeper make sure to let reception know on ahead of arrival/check-in. I can fall asleep to noise without a problem so didn't bother me and the bed and pillows were comfy so I was happy. All in all, not the best hotel I stayed in, it did the job considering I would leave early in the morning and come back late at night after all the activities/shows I had planned so literally just used it to sleep and shower in. For those wanting to walk around NYC, this hotel has perfect central location.

Dear Dominika O, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us and I am happy to hear that overall it was a pleasant one. Our boutique rooms are uniquely appointed and situated, the peek-a-boo curtain can certainly be a surprise to Guests to be sure! This is part of the reason our room photographs are so detailed; we want to be able to provide Guests with the tools to do their research thoroughly. Part of the reason we specifically market our rooms for their bed type and not view is chiefly as you stated above, we are nine stories tall and surrounded by buildings on three sides, our view options are therefore extremely limited. I do hope that our staff was accommodating, something I did not see mentioned in your review, but again I thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughts. We strive to create unique, unforgettable experiences for our Guests and feedback such as yours allows us to grow and reflect on our service. "Little boutique gym"
We loved the sanctuary! This boutique hotel has such a cool vibe and felt very intimate and private. Douglas at the door was amazing! Even brought us coffee in the morning! I understand that they recently finished some construction- and from what I could see they did an amazing job. Our king junior suite was gorgeous, spacious, and very clean! Great getaway for the weekend!

"Walking to everything"
This was a very pleasant surprise. I booked this hotel last minute and was blown away. It was very clean and the staff was amazing. I needed to upgrade to a double and it was not a problem. The room wasn't ready but we had to go see a show. The staff moved us. It was an amazing experience. This hotel is close to everything. Times Square is at the end of the block. Walk to all you broadway shows. This will b my go to NYC stay.

"Christmas"
Myself and My husband stayed here from 28th December till 7 th January, I loved every minute , room was lovely bed was so comfy. Pete from reception was super all reception staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is just off times square in a great location we couldn't of stayed in a better place. I would definitely recommend staying here and who knows we will be here again. Thank you for making us welcome xx

"Stayed December 27-28...."
We stayed here for one night in a two double bedded room. Here's the brief from our experience, I hope it helps you x ROOM Small but fairly comfortable. The beds are soft though. We faced the street and by 6am it was incredibly noisy with construction and many sirens. The rain shower was amazing however the bathroom is teeny. As in teeny. BREAKFAST Due to covid, breakfast is a box bought up to your room. We were a family of four and one child has severe allergies so Keith said he would enquire if we could have toast for our child instead of the pastry with nuts. Well we waited over our allocated breakfast time and didn't receive anything. We called and ten minutes later there was a knock and we found a bag had been left for us with only two breakfast boxes. And both boxes had items our son is allergic too so he had nothing he could eat. We gave up and left. Breakfast was a flop. PARKING At checkout you can ask for a discount coupon for parking. This is for sp plus parking. Please make sure you park at the correct parking so it accepts your coupon. You can call the hotel ahead to get the address for the correct place. LOCATION The location is ideal for Times Square. It is approx a ten minute or less walk depending on how fast you traipse. STAFF The staff we spoke with on the telephone (Jimmy and Krystal or Kristen (can't recall)) were lovely. At arrival we talked to Keith who was nice. The bellman who sorted us a taxi as we called for one yet going downstairs, it was not ordered... He was a nice man. The housekeeping were really sweet and cheery. There were a few staff who said hi but really weren't doing much but chatting amongst themselves. Evidently there's some communication training required between hotel staff as our taxi wasn't ordered and also two breakfasts didn't turn up at all and allergies were ignored completely. DECOR Dark and Gothic with some lovely statues and lighting. OVERALL I would not choose this hotel again as I felt it didn't have the finesse and attention a hotel should give its guests. I also felt uncomfortable that they don't seem to take allergies seriously. I prefer an airy and light environment and would pay more to be in a hotel that is more accurate in tending to its guests.

Dear Sheila, Firstly, thank you kindly for taking the time to leave so lengthy and detailed a review of your time with us. Reviews like this truly allow us to see where exactly any shortcomings or improvements can be made though it is unfortunate your review was less than glowing. The health of our Guests, those with allergies and without, is absolutely paramount and it is shocking to me that so vital a detail was repeatedly missed. I will follow up with my Food and Beverage team to see exactly what happened with your particular requests and apologize that your family was effected by so crucial a detail. I am happy to hear you found myself and Krystal to be pleasant over the phone, but the pleasantries should have most definitely extended to when you were here! I will be certain to follow up with my staff in reference to the importance of recognizing Guest interaction opportunities. While it does little to help you now, feedback like yours has encouraged us to modify the way breakfast is served and operated. It is a shame however that your experience with breakfast was less than ideal. I understand that you have said you have no plans on staying with us again and given your frustrations I cannot say that I blame you. Having said that, I absolutely would like a chance to make up for your less than ideal stay and should you choose to entertain this idea in the future, please reach out to me directly at jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com and I will be certain to personally take care of you. "Great Location for Broadway"
I had a nice stay at Sanctuary Hotel New York. The location was perfect for Broadway shows, as well as visiting Rockefeller Center. It's surprisingly quiet considering how close to all the action it is - I had no issues getting a full night of sleep each night. My queen room was, to be expected in NYC, tiny - but well furnished and cozy. There is a safe in the room. The full length mirror was hidden on the sliding door to the toilet. I made a reservation at Haven Rooftop 2 months in advance of my stay and was cancelled the week before check-in due to a private party. This was pretty frustrating considering how difficult it is to get last minute dinner reservations in NYC during the holiday season. I did get to check out Sushi by Bou, which was terrific. They feature a 12 course omakase in an intimate 8 person maximum restaurant. Get a reservation today! If there is a bar in the lobby of the hotel, it was not open during my stay, but that would have been nice. Breakfast was delivered to your door each morning. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. I would recommend Sanctuary Hotel NY and would stay again.

"Stylish Sanctuary"
On our annual holiday New York City trip my wife and I stayed at the Sanctuary Hotel for two nights. The Sanctuary is a boutique hotel with a rooftop bar and a sushi restaurant. It is conveniently located on West 47th street just steps from Times Square. We chose a king room that was very comfortable. The modern facilities include a large flat screen tv, wifi, a glass enclosed shower with a rain shower head and a hand held shower. A continental breakfast is also include. The hotel has an arrangement with a garage one block away for 50% off their regular rates. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The Sanctuary is a very good choice tor a NYC stay.
"Good location, very tiny room"
Excellent location. Check in was slow - front desk woman clearly not excited to be there. Lobby area is small and because there were a lot of people around it was hard to hear what the receptionist was saying. Free coffee, tea and water in reception area. Room was tiny, open the door and you fall onto the bed. Shower and sink in the room - if you're traveling with someone you have no intimacy with , you'll become intimate whether you want it or not!! Shower was very good though. Toiletries ok, nice towel. Toilet was very, very tiny and toilet paper was like sand paper. Small hole in the wall to hang clothes. Safe available. Tiny desk. Bed was comfortable. Nice size HD TV. Room was quiet overall. Douglas, the bell boy, was very helpful when I need to solve an issue. They charge $25/day for “resort fee” (what a scam!) and you get breakfast delivered to your room in a paper bag. Poor quality - coffee or tea (no choice of juice), small yoghurt, small apple, a dry croissant, and a small muffin. And you have to call to set up delivery time ( but not breakfast before 7:30am!).
"Website misleading"
To be clear, there is no access to any gym contrary to what it says. There is no breakfast other than what you see in the attached photo. The work table in the room is unusable as the seat is simply too low. The place is grubby and not clean. There is really nothing open in the place. The shower is in the room. The toilet is tiny. I was checked in for 12 nights and left after 1.
"Horrible service"
I was disappointed at this place to be honest . We paid little over $300 for one night and for the price the service was horrible . 1- they told us once we got here that the parking garage was closed and I have to go around and find another parking . In time square it took me 40 min to find another parking lot that I could leave the car over night. 2- we wanted to go to hotel restaurant and they told us they are closed to guest because of a company party 3- we asked for water they said they don't have water and if we want water we should go outside and buy water from a food truck. With the price they are charging I would go to another hotel .
"Comfortable, peaceful stay in Manhattan."
I stayed at the Sanctuary hotel this past weekend with my mother because we were finally seeing Hamilton: The Musical and we were very happy about it! I booked this hotel because the location was excellent! It was close to the theater district and Times Square. The reviews were good. Also I was interested in going to their rooftop restaurant. I checked in Friday, around 10 am. Upon coming in, I was told they had no rooms ready but to check around 1 pm. After waiting for about two hours, around noon, I asked at front desk if they had any rooms ready and the man there gave me the good news that there actually was a room available on the 6th floor. The room had a decent view since it's higher up. You can see the church next door and some of the street below. The room was small, the bathroom was small. It was tight at first but we got used to it and made it work. The counter space for the bathroom is really tight. There was only space for one towel to hang in the bathroom. The shower is right in the room and has a curtain instead of a door for privacy. The shower felt really good. I definitely enjoyed the shower a lot. The bed was also very comfortable. I thought the hotel was very quiet. I didn't hear people next to me or in the halls. I only heard the usual noise in the morning outside of the hotel from construction but that's normal for Manhattan. The staff was as accommodating as they could be. I really loved having the doormen there. I wish every hotel outside of New York had this. The front desk accommodated my requests as far as early check in. My only complaint was that I thought the free breakfast delivery thing to the room was kind of annoying and communication was a bit off. When I checked in, I was not told what time they would be delivering the food. I wasn't asked what my food restrictions/preferences were. Nothing. So the next day at 7 AM, I heard a knock for breakfast. Well, I wasn't ready to eat breakfast at 7 AM. I didn't even know they were coming at that time. They delivered coffee and orange juice. Neither my mom or I drink OJ in the morning. Also by the time I was ready to eat my breakfast, the coffee was cold of course. And there's no microwave in the room. So I had to call front desk and ask them to bring up the coffee and tea. I didn't want to feel like an inconvenience to them but it seemed kind of like I was. I would've rather made the coffee and tea myself. I wish they had some sort of bar downstairs to do that but I guess with Covid they don't allow it? Anyway, about 20 min later they did bring it up, which was nice of them. I tried to request with morning shift and night shift about bringing breakfast an hour later. Unfortunately with the time change on Sunday this weekend, housekeeping still brought it at 7 am. But the good news was that breakfast was delivered and the muffins were very good. The rooftop restaurants, Haven Restaurant and Sushi Lab, which are located at the top of their hotel, were fabulous! I had a nice time at both. The sushi was fantastic at sushi lab! Nice customer service too. Beautifully decorated. Haven was fun too. Same, beautifully decorated. I will also say that the Sanctuary hotel's lobby was nicely decorated. It was a dark, sensual vibe that I'm sure took a lot of time to complete for the developers. I enjoyed the different Buddhist statues throughout the hotel.
"Great location, cute room, could use some improvements"
Cons: - Very noisy hall. There's a supply closet that was always being opened/closed and it made a lot of noise. - One elevator. - There were flies in the rooms (at least in the two rooms I stayed at). - A dirty curtain is the "door" to the bathroom area. - The bathroom area is rather small and not very comfortable. - The "free, delivered to your room" breakfast to-go arrived only once during my 4 nights stay. Also, asked for gluten free due to health requirements, received a lot of gluten. - On the 3rd day most of the towels were taken away by the house keeping, was left with only 1 large and 1 hand towel. - If you want a quiet room, you'll get one with a view to a building wall (which also means, a very dark room). Pros: - Good lighting inside the room (to make up for not receiving any light from outside). - Great mattress. The pillows are super soft (you decide if that's a pro/con). - Good A/C, but very noisy. - Clean and soft towels. - Really great location.
"Wonderful place to stay"
As I write this review, I am currently laying in the most comfortable bed in the world located in the Sanctuary hotel NYC. Even before we entered the main entrance to the hotel, the gentleman at the front door helped us carry our heavy suitcases up the front stairs. The check in process was super quick and easy. Our room is lovely, clean, comfortable, and safe. The rain shower is incredible !!!!!! The staff is available, helpful, kind, and attentive. Although we only checked in a few hours ago, our stay here has been wonderful and such a pleasant experience. I will definitely be staying here again.
"So happy I found this place!"
I randomly came across this cute boutique hotel and I'm so happy I did! The location is so central, rooms are updated clean and stylish. The staff is absolutely wonderful. I had trouble with my flight and they did everything they could so I could be more comfortable. Special thank you to Jimmy for helping me with my stay. Looking forward to staying here again.
"Beautiful, Clean Accommodating Great Staff!"
I stayed at the Sanctuary this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. Location- They are located right off of Times Square a perfect balance of not in the mix of the crowds and noise but easy to get to the crowds and noise. We heard no noise from our room and slept wonderfully. Staff- Front Desk staff were great and so was housekeeping. We actually had our room down graded due to overbooking from a wedding and the Manager was very accommodating and apologetic he allowed us to check in early/offered us late check out/ and got us some appetizers and drinks from their overly popular rooftop restaurant-the haven. We were very pleased with the level of customer service. Parking- you're given a voucher at checkout $40 over night parking for discounted parking which is about 2 blacks away. We had to self park which was fine because the bell hop took our bags upstairs so we would not have to carry through NYC streets. Cleanliness- The room was very clean updated and modern we loved the in shower room feature, although it was small we still felt like it was plenty room for 2 ppl. Overall it was an amazing stay and I will def return.
"Bad experience "
Room are very, very small. Window in the room I couldn't open, but if I could I'll have view to the brick wall one meter close with silly painting of palm, beach and boat. I had to switch air system, cause had bad allergy when it was on. No one came in the room to change sheets, refill cosmetic, change towels four days. Finally after my second request someone was in the room and just change towels, without refilling shampoo and shower gel, and soap disappeared. Never again.

Dear Dragan K, I thank you for taking the time to let us know of your experience here at the Sanctuary and it saddens me that your impressions were far less than ideal. It troubles me that your stay seem to fail on just about every level possible; from your room, to the air con, to housekeeping service. I would like to speak to you directly about your experiences here and to receive the details in specific regard to Housekeeping as our attendants service every occupied room, every day. I can be reached directly at jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com. We strive to create unique, unforgettable experiences for our Guests and feedback such as yours allows us to grow and reflect on our service. I apologize once again you were disappointed with your time with us and look forward to speaking to you soon. James Valdez Guest Services Manager The Sanctuary Hotel
"Fabulous service, decor and location"
This was not our first visit to Sanctuary, but the last time was five years previous so I wondered how it would be, particularly during Covid.. From the moment we arrived right up to departure, I cannot think of anything to criticize about this hotel. It must be said that Jimmy, the Concierge, is the heart and soul of Sanctuary and the staff makes every effort to live up to his standards. He even recognized us after so many years. Even though it is undergoing renovation and therefore does not have a restaurant, at a time chosen by us, a 'breakfast box' arrived. In each box was coffee, juice, yogurt, an apple and a croissant. Our very own continental breakfast without the line up Sanctuary is half way between Times Square and 6th Avenue. They must have special windows because we never heard any noise. One thing I would like to see is some seating in the reception/lobby area I have stayed hear with sister, and husband, and friend (all different visits :) ) It suits every occasion and I heartily recommend this centrally located well-designed hotel.
"Amazing service! Would absolutely recommend."
I stayed here for a long weekend last month, and it was a wonderful hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating—especially Van! Van went out of their way to bring a new mini fridge to our room when ours stopped working. Great location as well! I expected there to be a lot of street noise give the proximity to Times Square, but to my surprise, the room was very quiet! Will absolutely be staying here next time I am in NYC.

"Stay Away from This Hotel"
The hotel is entirely very stuffy and dark. I've booked a trip for my family of 3 and our window was facing a large brick wall. I've asked for a allergen-free room as my child has specific allergies. Selection of rooms is entirely arbitrary and left up to the check in registrant's own accord. The staff were somewhat accommodating, however they did not change our room. Parts of the hotel are not regularly sanitized. The manager Andrew C. was not accommodating neither. Would not entertain this facility for my next visit.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Dear Bethenny G, I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback in reference to your time here, though I of course apologize greatly that you found it to be so disappointing. I can assure you that the health and safety of our Guests is of paramount concern and if ever we are asked that a room be hypoallergenic, the room in question is assigned the same morning. As you can imagine the implications of us not selecting a specific room for Guests who have allergens could be disastrous. I would like to speak with you personally in regards to your time here and what exact areas you found to be under sanitized as well as the interaction with Andrew. I can be reached at jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com or 212-234-7000. I look forward to hearing from you and apologize once more for your frustrations. "Stay away from this hotel"
This hotel was Dispirited. Worst Hotel / Room. Stuffy, darkness in the entire hotel, Our window was facing a aged brick wall & waste of money. They gave us the room at the backside of the hotel I believe that is the worst area of this hotel. I feel they assign the rooms to the customers based on their own criteria.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Dear Krishnan K, I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback in reference to your time here, though of course I would have preferred it to be more positive. It saddens me greatly that you were so unsatisfied with the hotel and would like to address your concerns without invalidating your frustrations. We are a nine story hotel that is surrounded on the three sides by buildings. Because of this, we never sell our rooms based on view, it would be irresponsible to do so. The only room types that have a guaranteed view of the street are our Deluxe King Rooms and even then, these rooms are booked by their bedding and not view. Having said that, if a Guest is uncomfortable with a particular room they are in, view or otherwise, we do our very best to find a room that they will be more at home in. To do this however we must be informed there is an issue or concern, we ask to be given a chance to right any frustrations our Guests have. If you were assigned to a room towards the backside of the hotel, it was likely due to that area being the quietest in the building! All that aside, I apologize greatly that your experience with us was so disappointing and would in fact like to speak to you further in reference to your concerns listed here. I can be reached directly @ jimmy@sanctuaryhotelnyc.com. Thank you again for taking the time to give us your feedback and truly hope we will be fortunate enough in the future to have you stay with us again. "Great location"
Stayed in one of the smaller rooms with no view that people have been complaining about (700).. I loved it! It was comfortable and cozy for two.. the room was quite and could be blacked out easily.. great for people with light and noise sensitivity.. staff is great! They are aware of your coming and going without being intrusive

"Home Away From Home in Bustling Times Square"
Outstanding hospitality. Van, Jimmy and Liam made us feel like we were part of the Sanctuary family. That's hard to find in bustling Times Square. If you want to feel like just a number go to those big chains. If you want to feel honored as a guest go to Sanctuary. Any request made was promptly met with a smile and courteousness. Thank you Sanctuary Team! Covid did make things a little less traditional: breakfast to rooms was just okay and daily cleaning of rooms didn't happen automatically. But I for one appreciate the times and totally understand and everyone else should as well. For those saying the rooms are small I recommend getting a Deluxe Room. It's plenty big. The beds and bedding were soooooooo comfy. Is there street noise: yup. You're in Times Square. People don't go to Times Square for peace and tranquility (Sanctuary Hotel will give you some though!). I highly recommend Sanctuary if you want a more personalized experience and want to feel appreciated as a guest. You will not be disappointed .We can't wait to go back in the future to enjoy the full experience of what Sanctuary has to offer. Please support smaller hotels instead of big corporate hotels.

"STAY FAR AWAY"
I lost my wallet prior to my arrival in NYC. The doorman was checking i.ds at the door like this was some exclusive high line hotel. I got past ‘security' and made it to the desk to check in and got denied access to my pre paid room. I explained to Carlos and Quanisha that I had lost my wallet and needed to stay because I didn't have many more options!! I pulled up my id on my phone and also a photo of my credit card and got denied access to my stay. They said they would refund me my money and still haven't gotten a credit back to my account. Look my wife and I have stayed at 5-6 star hotels in various parts of the world and this by far is the trashiest, most unprofessional service/treatment we have ever experienced. My wife and I went to the Arthouse hotel and got accommodated with me showing the same credentials on my phone (id and cc) with no issues. Arthouse went over the top to soothe me over and make us feel at home. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!!! STAY AWAY!!
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Dear aldog723, Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback for your time with us and I apologize greatly for the lateness of this reply. It is my unfortunate duty however to have to remind you of what exactly happened during your time at our property. When you arrived at the hotel you did not have a physical credit card or photo identification. Whilst some hotels might find that accepting such delicate details via photograph alone to be sufficient security, we at the Sanctuary keep our Guest's privacy/security a top concern, and as such do not; however that is not where the real issue of your time with us lies. The agent you spoke with, Juan, did his very best in explaining the situation to you and was willing to do everything in his ability to assist you but this ended when you decided to name him "Carlos". Repeatedly. Despite Juan making it quite clear that was not his name, you decided it was appropriate to propagate this racial stereotype. You then went one step further and called another employee at the front desk "Quanisha" who up to this point had no interaction with you whatsoever. When one of our Doormen explained to you that the way you were acting was not appropriate, you decided to call him "Carlos" as well despite of course he being of no Hispanic descent whatsoever. It was at this point you were informed that due to the issues with your lack of physical identification and method of payment, as well as your unacceptable racist behavior, your reservation would not be honored. This upset you, understandably, and when you returned later with your wife, who was able to provide at the very least some physical credentials, you continued to call employees by the name of "Carlos" or "Quanisha" and it was moot at that point. I understand that when it was explained that the reservation would not be honored for your continued derogatory racial comments, you left with your wife in tears. There is nothing worse for a hotelier than to actively turn away Guests, who are the very reason we are here in the first place, but no person should have to suffer through repeated insults in the name of profit, racial or otherwise, wherever they work. The fact that you continue in your review to use the names "Carlos" and "Quinisha" goes to show that the right decision was made in refusing your booking. I am glad you were able to find alternate accommodations and do hope you enjoyed your time in New York City. James Valdez Guest Services Manager The Sanctuary Hotel
"OK, but hardly a 4-5 star hotel"
The hotel is "fine," but that is it. For the prices charged and website promising STAR service, I expected much more. The hotel is not offering housekeeping because of "COVID" but it's probably more of a staffing issue. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but I was not told that it had to be ordered in advance. So the next day I had no breakfast and was not even offered coffee or anything. For my second night, I was sure to place my order in advance. Coffee and juice were delivered to my door, but breakfast never arrived and no other alternative or solution was offered. NYC hotel rooms can be small, but this room is laughably tiny. Really, really small. The shower is open to the bedroom and essentially only 1 person can use the sink/bathroom/shower at one time. There is no lobby area or any area to wait until a room is ready. The restaurant and rooftop bar seem to be very popular and the doormen/BOUNCERS practically stopped me from going in to the hotel every time I returned until I showed them a room key. There were lines of people to get in to the hotel and it was very off putting to be questioned by the bellmen every time I arrived. There is a lot of construction around the hotel, which makes a lot of dust, but the noise cannot be heard from the room.
James Valdez, Guest Services / Front Office at Sanctuary Hotel New York, responded to this review
Dear Bethany B, Thank you for taking the time to give feedback in reference to your time with us though it needn't be said that I wish your stay had garnered more positive feelings. Upon check in, Guests are informed that servicing of the rooms (more specifically at the time of your stay) is modify slightly for COVID-19 precautions. Any and all sundries Guests require can be brought to the room at request. Of course since your stay full housekeeping service has resumed but I apologize that this was clearly not explained to a satisfactory level during your stay. Additionally I apologize that your breakfast experience was less than ideal. You are absolutely correct that an alternative solution or exception should have been offered to making certain you received your breakfast and I sad to hear it was not done so. I will be certain to follow up with my team about offering service solutions. I will also look into your experiences with the door staff. The team at the door's priority is Guest safety and security, making certain only patrons and Guests enter the premises. Having said that, Guest comfort and service standards absolutely are paramount to the overall experience and I am deeply troubled you were made to feel otherwise when walking into your own hotel! This will be investigated as well. We strive to create unique, unforgettable experiences for our Guests and feedback such as yours allows us to grow and reflect on our service. "not as good as I expected"
To be fair I went in May, so the pandemic was still looming... however, I decided to spend a few days there, also to support the hotel and NYC's recovery. The room was quite dark since it faced the alley, but quiet, the carpet was dirty, it felt it hadnt been clean in ages. Breakfast was delivered to the room, but they forgot so i had to call the front desk, they only had coffee, some stale muffin and yougurt. A pity, I really went there to support the hotel and because of the good reviews in the past and also the nice pics. but there are better hotels in NYC at that price
"Overall a good experience. Not the quality I expected from the website/reviews/ratings."
Overall it was a good stay but it wasn't quite what we were expecting. The parking was close (about a block and a half away) but there was no valet and we probably could have found cheaper parking on our own - though it would've been a little further. The directions they gave to the parking garage weren't valid after 2 because of closed off streets. Our bags, which were dropped off with the doorman to be taken up to our room, were sitting in the lobby when we returned about 15-20 minutes later. They informed us on check-in that breakfast was bagged and delivered to the room due to Covid and we needed to relay our preferences the night before. We did and requested it brought up at 8:30am. At 8:50 the next morning we called the front desk (with our personal cells because the phone in the room just gave us the busy signal whenever we tried to use it) and they said they'd tell the staff and have it brought up (no apology for being late or for not having us listed). At 9:00 I had to walk into the hallway and ask the lady who was delivering food to other rooms if we could also get food - she had no listing of our preference but was helpful and got us breakfast within another 5 minutes (croissant, somewhat dry muffin, cup of OJ, cup of coffee, yoplait yogurt and maybe an apple? We got one the second day but not the first and we didn't get spoons for the yogurt..). Breakfast was delivered 20 minutes after our requested time the following morning, but we didn't have to remind anyone so that was a step up. The rooftop bar, The Haven, was also a bit of a disappointment. The interior was great and the ambiance was as well. But there was pretty much no view and we had to make reservations for the bar (almost didn't get to go up) even though we were staying at the hotel (we were not told on check in that reservations were needed, only that it was available for us to go to). As far as the room goes, the bed was very comfortable and plush! We loved the comforter and pillows. The room was decorated nicely and had everything you would need (no microwave or fridge, but we didn't need one). Definitely oriented towards couples though (whichever as great for my husband and I). There was, unfortunately, construction on the Hotel's street so it was pretty noisy but that's no fault of theirs. Also, the location is great if you're looking to be right at Time's Square! Keep in mind though, being that close to Time's Square means there's lots of noise (yelling, honking, etc) late into the night. Overall we had a good stay, but the customer service and small details were lacking. Probably won't stay with them again.
"Superb stay and perfect location in NYC"
I stayed 8 days at the Sanctuary Hotel and everything was perfect. The welcome of the team was very professional and the room very clean and overall the Location of the Hotel at 200 Metres of Time Square is the Most. The Haven restaurant on the roof top is very nice and the Sushi Lab excellent. I will go back for sure...

"1st time back"
We were able to return here after the year away. The hotel has been modified a lot due to New York restrictions and rules. However the staff was brilliant. Went out of their way to make our return great. The Haven is open up too and was better than I remember it. New York is no where close to being back again and some places are a bit of a waste land. I felt the staff here went above and beyond. Cannot recommend high enough.
"The Sanctuary Hotel was all that"
We expected a "Sanctuary" and we were not let down- The Cozy Queen Room WAS cozy, clean, efficient, and well designed- Everything was in perfect working order. We enjoyed our two night stay with them- We visited both roof top restaurants and both were welcoming and bright and clean- breakfast was included with our "Package" and it was modified to be "Room service" and was delivered on time and of good quality (we were expecting a continental type service but it was more than that) . C 19 Protocols were in place- Everything that was "changed" due to the C19 situation was painless, seamless, and well done. The location is absolutely perfect to Times Square and Central Park. we met the Hotel Manager- James- and he was Friendly, professional, caring, and accommodating- We will definitely return.
"Unimpressive"
The staff at check in was very good. Other times the front desk was manned by indifferent staff. Felt like I was interrupting their personal conversations and phone use. Was told breakfast was included. No breakfast was provided At check out they tried to add a "destination fee". It was never disclosed until check out. I never stay at a hotel with any such nonsense junk fees. I felt like this stay was a shake down. No breakfast, extra charges. Tiny room. A curtain separates the bathroom
"Exactly what I expected...."
The receptionist and waiter exceeded our expectations, I would definitely recommend this place and revisit. Next time I'm doing the suite and eating at the Havana restaurant again the pizza , steak was delicious.

"Fanstastic Location"
My boyfriend and I spent the night here awhile ago and we couldn't be happier with our stay. The hotel feels very sexy so it was perfect for our little staycation. We're right next to Times Square so we got to be tourist in our city. The rooftop is gorgeous. We had the king suite overlooking the street with wall to wall windows. It was a great change and escape from our tiny Brooklyn apartment. Would highly recommend for a sexy night in NY:) Also shout out to the GM Jeremy Poon if he's still there. Amazing hospitality from the bellman to the front desk to the housekeeping team.

"Best Hotel ever!"
I was here för a conference with Three colleagues in Dec. 2018 and they were very nice when we had a bad experience with intoxication. I will definitely live here again if I'm in NY! Very nice rooms that were renovated apartments were supernice.
"Would recommend"
I truly enjoyed my two week stay. I was displaced due to Covid and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were a little small for my liking however I loved the ambiance of the hotel. I would however recommend changing the curtains in the room as they were old and tacky. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and coffee every morning and the staff always helped me out to my vehicle. I would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for a hotel look no further , you will not be disappointed. All staff - to name a few Andrew (concierge) Jame and Liam (front desk) were extremely knowledgeable, helpful and very kind . Breakfast was a buffet style , it was clean the rooms are great and the bed so comfortable ! I can't rate this hotel high enough , it was so nice in every conceivable way . The doormen were also on hand to help and a stones throw from Times Square .

"Do NOT park in their garage!"
We had a nice stay here! This hotel is located close to Times Square and we found it easily accessible. Pros: They offer guest free passes to NYSC about two blocks down - we found that to be a nice perk! The guest rooms were clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. We liked the decor and the complimentary breakfast was great! Cons: They told us to park at the 38W 46th street garage for a discounted rate of $40 -which is pretty good for NYC. We were leaving in the morning for JFK so when I checked in at this garage I asked how long it would take to get my car the next morning and I was told "2 minutes." Okay then. When we went there the next morning (keep in mind we have a flight leaving shortly) there was no one in line. There were FOUR employees there however. I walk up to the booth and the guy there just ignores me for a good three minutes while he is stapling papers and on the computer. Again, no one in line. When he finally graces me with acknowledging my presence, I told him I was picking up my car and we have a flight. From this point it took the TWENTY TWO minutes to retrieve my car. Four employees, no line and over twenty minutes to get one car. A couple arrived after me and got their car within five minutes. I have no idea what could have taken them this long but I asked for a manager and was given the brush off and told that the employees "don't usually work this location" so they didn't know where my car was. When they finally brought my car out, there was no apology, no explanation, nothing. While I understand this is not the fault of the hotel, they partner with this garage and we had to rush to JFK which caused a lot of stress to our morning and just made our flight. This is really inexcusable. If you are to stay at this hotel - park elsewhere. We were also woken at FOUR AM by guests in the next room SCREAMING fighting. IDK who thinks that is acceptable but if it lasted a few minutes longer I was going to have to call the front desk to ask them to come up. I kept hearing thud noises and was worried that someone was getting hurt. Not a great way to start the day as I couldn't get back to sleep but I suppose that is not the fault of the hotel

Dear Connecticut814, I appreciate greatly your feedback and thank you for sharing your experience at the SP+ Parking Garage. Coincidentally, I spoke with you the day of your departure in reference to the garage, I remember it quite clearly! For what you experienced I do apologize but I feel I must reiterate a slight correction. The SP+ Parking Garage we are affiliated with is not run, operated, or owned by us. As an added amenity for our Guests, we do after a discounted rate of $40 per 24 hours (as opposed to $80.00) and most find this to be very accommodating. That being said, if w are telling our Guests to utilize the Garage, we should be confident that they will be given at minimum the base level of service we provide to our Guests. I spoke to the garage after our conversation and explained to them the way your experience was handled was completely and totally unacceptable. I once again apologize that you went through what you did.
