We stayed for a week starting Labor Day weekend. It was 2 parents and our teenage daughter in a one bedroom suite with 2 double beds. It was just the right amount of space that we could get away from each other when we needed space- which happened as the week progressed :). Room details: The living room has a pull out sofa which we didn't use. The kitchen was wonderful for bringing home left overs and reheating later and storing cold beverages . Coffee maker makes espresso or coffee. The balcony was lovely for checking the weather to see what we wanted to wear. Oh and everything in the room worked as expected - no burned out lights or broken anything. The service: The staff could not be more friendly. They always rushed to the door to open for us or pushed the turnstile door for us when we came in. They cleaned the room each day beautifully. Location: Subway access can't be better. The 6 or E train are easily accessed. There are stops at 3rd and 53rd, Lexington and 53rd, Lex and 52nd , Lex and 51, and Lex and 50th but it's only open M-F 7a-7p. Dining: The hotel has a lovely upstairs rooftop restaurant/bar that offers breakfast and late night small plates and drinks. There is also a steak house that is good and an Italian restaurant connected to hotel. Liquor store, bagel shop, luncheonette, ATM, Starbucks and grocery store. Are all within a 2 block walk. You can't go wrong with this location. I think I'm spoiled. Can't imagine staying anywhere else after staying at the Kimberly Hotel! Thank you for making our final family vacation before she launches to college a fantastic one!
The staff was excellent. So helpful and very friendly. Gave us good recommendations and made us feel very welcome. Beds extremely comfortable, room very large and balcony nice to have. We felt safe and were able to walk almost everywhere in the city . We will definitely stay there again when we visit NYC.
Stayed at the Kimberly Hotel for my birthday on Labor Day weekend 2024. While it was not my first time in NYC, it was my first time at the Kimberly. I could not ask for a better stay. Everyone was genuinely nice and accommodating, wanting to ensure we had a fabulous experience, which we absolutely did. Great location - walking distance to a lot but removed from the chaos of Times Square. I could be biased considering my name, but it was probably the best hotel experience I have had in NYC. Gorgeous property with that classic NYC vibe, and the bed was a giant, comfortable marshmallow. To top it all off, I was showered with a ton of Kimberly goodies including a robe and a cheese plate with a bottle of wine on my actual birthday. They know hospitality and they do it well. I'm already looking forward to another trip!
Beautiful hotel with a great location. Loved the rooftop bar. Rooms very spacious clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 'Kimberly Townhouse' side and was really nice and easy to access. One of the best hotels I have stayed at in the city.
Great hotel and great location, outstanding service from all personnel, Sadie (morning shift front desk) was problem solver and true professional, MD (evening shift) was caring, they all make you feel special. A big thank you! I will definitely stay at Kimberly again. Tip: select an upper floor and king beds, if possible.
Outstanding hotel! I travel a lot and can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed at! Also, the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and always said my name! I will definitely stay here again! Great job to all of the staff!
We have been staying at the Kimberly for many years and even with all the selections in NYC would not stay anywhere else. Each member of the Kimberly is fantastic starting from your arrival with the doorman, to front desk check in, to housekeeping. The rooms are huge and the small kitchen has everything you need. Rooms are kept very clean. Bistango Restaurant is on the bottom floor. Food is fantastic, gluten free, and the staff is phenomenal, especially Milan. Upstairs offers late night drinks. Have never tried the Steak House, but I'm sure would be just as good. Hotel is walkable to Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Bryant Park and Times Square (if you want to attempt that) Can't ask for a better place to stay
This is a lovely hotel. All of the employees were friendly and so helpful. The room had a comfortable bed and nice linens. Wonderful l'occitane bath products. All of the food served was delicious. I only wished the outdoor cafe in front of the hotel was open for morning coffee. Much better than going to Starbucks.
Fantastic hotel. Great suite for a family. Felt comfortable and homely in a big city. Very comfortable beds and nice shower. Really useful to have a fridge and coffee machine. Perfect location for exploring NYC. Staff extremely helpful. We all loved the big fish tank in reception. Everyone was great but Harry and MD were fantastic and really helped us out - thank you, we will be back!
One of the best hotels I have stayed at in NYC! My niece turned 30 and had never been to NYC so I wanted to take her to experience it for the first time. I chose the Kimberly Hotel as the reviews were good, the rooms were much larger in comparison to other hotels around the same price, the location was decent in Midtown, and close to the subway. We were able to get a terrace (which would be a first for me). This hotel exceeded my expectations in so many areas. Kimberly checked all the boxes in comfort, amenities, and luxury (we had a one-bedroom suite with two double beds), but the thing that really put them over the top for me was the staff. In my 20 plus years of traveling to NYC for mostly business, I have never had a more professional, yet personable staff. They went above and beyond, were warm, kind, funny and each of them we encountered helped to make our stay all the more special! EXCEPTIONAL STAFF One of the first kudos goes to the Concierge, Dusty. Dusty and I had spoken to prior to arrival. I had enquired what could be done to make the arrival a bit more special for my niece. We talked about a bottle in the room and maybe some cheesecake. My expectations were for a mini bottle of bubbly. When we arrived, our table was draped with a table cloth, and there was a lovely card welcoming us and a personal message, a full bottle of Prosecco and a lovely cheesecake on a plate with Happy Birthday written out and EVEN candles! After traveling cross country my niece was so delighted to come into the room and find the lovely treats. Dusty took everything we discussed and made it even more lovely. A few more standouts were M.D. and JudyAnne at the Front Desk. We really interacted with them the most. Though everyone there was fantastic! Each of them greeted us daily and made sure we had anything we needed in our room, helped us navigate the subway for sights, and were just delightful in helping any way they could. This included following up with a call to the room to ensure we received the ice we had requested upon return from a very hot day one afternoon. The Doormen and Bellmen were some of the best, and at the ready yet not pushy ( if you know, you know). They anticipated our every known (and unknown needs) and were there to open doors, help with bags, "risk their lives in traffic" on the street side to open the car doors and save us from the awkward scoot, even make sure our Uber plates matched up when they arrived, and of course hail a cab. They also cautioned us with the Pedicabs around town which apparently had hidden fees that guests did not anticipate. (We did take a flat fee pedicab in Central Park and it was fine). A few of these fine men who assisted us were Jose, David, and Ralph. Extra points to Ralph for the recommendation of a great local small Italian restaurant La Viletta that was close by. The fact that Ralph was Italian put even more pressure on him. If it had disappointed, I would have had to strike him from this review, even if he did get us umbrellas. ;-) Needless to say, it was delicious. Ralph's recommendation was a win. Every staff member we came across in the Front of House staff made it a joy to come back to each time and helped in making both my niece and me feel welcome. The only encounter we had with back of house when was a lamp was not working and the engineer who came to our room was wonderful as well. He left with the lamp and returned a short time later with a working lamp. THE ROOM We stayed in a one-bedroom suite with two double beds on the 10th floor. Our room was 10E at the end of the hotel. It has two double beds in the bedroom, and a pull-out sofa so could easily accommodate 6 adults. Though it says 4 on the website. First of all, the photos do not do this room justice. Large rooms in NYC in this price range are not common from my experience. This was 600 sq ft and was well laid out. This room had more closets than my house! There was an entry closet, a hall closet, and a bedroom closet. Each closet seemed to contain plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Along with the standard ironing board and iron there were two umbrellas in the front closet. There was a fully equipped Kitchenette and bar, a microwave, a wide mini fridge which contained sodas, beer, and designer water for a fee, as well as COMPLIMENTARY cold bottled water which they restocked daily. This was so nice to come back to each day after walking around sightseeing in record breaking heat and humidity for NYC in June. (The front desk also provided us with complimentary waters so we would stock up our fridge.) The kitchen cabinets were equipped with just about everything one needed and frankly had more than many Air BNB's I have stayed at. Actual silverware, dinner and salad plates, coffee/teacups and saucers, wine opener, bottle opener, plates, wine, champaign, rocks and highball glassware, coffee, tea, sugar, Splenda, creamer etc. I had actually brought my corkscrew as I have had so many experiences where the ones the hotel provided (only upon request) were so cheap that opening a bottle of wine became more of a challenge than it ever should be. Turns out, I didn't need it at The Kimberly. On the bar itself were a variety of small top shelf alcohol bottles (probably 375 ml), along with a few sweet snacks which could be purchased from the minibar. I have to say the prices, while always high on a minibar, where not astronomical given the NYC prices you would pay in a liquor store. I have seen them in Vegas for over 5xs the price. And it was nicely displayed. As I stated earlier, Dusty had made our arrival a special one for the occasion. There was a bottle of LeMarca Prosecco on ice beautifully displayed with the lovely notes from the hotel to welcome us. The cheesecake they had put in the fridge! The room had a small two-top table with two lovely high back antique chairs to eat at which was nice. The Coffee Maker - It may be weird, but I think this deserves a little review of its own. IT IS GOOD COFFEE! I drink espresso every morning. I am NOT a Keurig gal. So, I will either order room service for a nicely brewed half a pot of strong coffee or must go to the restaurant looking like hell. Well not here at The Kimberly! They had espresso pods and a maker IN THE ROOM! You could make an espresso in two sizes or an Americano. I didn't have half and half, but I probably could have requested it and gotten it for the room. I opted for the powdered creamer the 3 days we were there, and it was still magnificent! I cannot tell you how wonderful my coffee experience was and how important this is to me. Honestly, it was magical to have espresso in my room each morning. It was unexpected and such a nice thing to wake up to in the morning knowing I could make it myself while I was getting ready. It also probably saved me about $40 a day. The Living Room- This area was nicely laid out with two fabric round back chairs and the a plush pull out sofa which was so comfy to plop into. The living room TV was mounted to the opposite wall. For the size of the room, I feel the TV could have been slightly larger. I think it might have been a 42 inch, but we had no problem seeing it and frankly, didn't watch a ton of TV so it in no way affected our stay. While the room is traditional with antiques like the desk, coffee table and side tables, the sofa, side chairs and lamps were more modern. We loved the combination as it gave one a sense of hominess with comfort and class, as opposed to pretention. There was also an entry closet that contained more bedding, the standard ironing board and iron, but also included a steamer, along with two umbrellas. Bathroom - I have no pictures of the Bathroom. I wish I had taken a few and I questioned myself on why I hadn't and then it occurred to me. I didn't take any because usually when I take pictures in the bathroom it's because this is where I find problems. THIS BATHROOM was CLEAN! Small but clean! It had a tub, and a waterfall shower as well as a handheld shower head. There was a learning curve with the multiple knobs to turn, and I am still not sure what the knob by the handheld shower did. But the most important thing to me is that it was clean. It was a bit small for a suite, but it was well laid out and there were pops of color on the tray for amenities and the adorable floral ceramic tissue holder. They had regular sized bath towels and bath sheets which were soft and clean. As well as plenty of wash cloths and hand towels. This seems like a small thing, but if you traveled at all during Covid and after, you may have noticed that hotels have cut back on what they offer you in the room. In 2021 I had to REQUEST washcloths as there was only 1 of each type of towel in my room. I like one for the shower and one for my face. It's a small thing, but no longer goes unnoticed by me. Bedroom – The bedroom was fairly roomy considering the furnishings. There were two double beds, a chair and a dresser. The beds were very comfortable with down comforters and there was room enough to put suitcases in the very large closet. Each closet in the suite contained blankets and pillows. The nightstand had USB outlets that actually worked as well as plug-in options. Unlike many of the new modern hotels this room had a dresser to unpack your clothes, a men's valet, and an electric shoe polisher. In the large closet that spanned the depth of the room were two very plush bathrobes and two sets of slippers. Anything else we may have needed I am confident would have been provided. There is a rooftop bar which has a breakfast buffet, and we did have breakfast there one morning. There was a very nice selection and for the convenience of it, it was very nice. Should I stay there again I would probably venture out for breakfast. We went up to the bar our first night but there was a private birthday party taking up much of the bar so would like to see it when it's fully open to the public. So, to end this very long review, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a more upscale experience for a much more moderate price. The hotel is beautiful and clean, it has great amenities, magnificent coffee in the room and the staff are amazing! While many hotels can treat you like VIPs, it was more than that. It was classy yet comfortable, there were jokes, and smiles, and familiarity, all while maintaining professionalism. It's difficult to describe, but it was a unique and genuine experience for me in The City. FIVE STARS FROM ME!
I first stayed at the Kimberly in the 1990s and it's amazing to me that the hotel has been consistently great for so many years. The suite setup is an ideal amount of space and with a great balcony too (suggestion: some outdoor seating would be great). Not much else in NYC compares in terms of space and value with quiet luxury. The gym has great high quality equipment. The staff is phenomenal here from front desk to houskeeping to bell staff; just nice people working hard for the guests. No request was turned down from early check in through extended checkout. The midtown east location is great for exploring wide swaths of Manhattan by foot or convenient nearby subway. I look forward to returning again soon.
Wonderful stay at the Kimberly! Staff was extremely courteous and accommodating. Our suite was perfect for us, lots of room and beautifully decorated. Location was perfect for walks to and from the theatre district (when the weather cooperated). Would definetly stay here again!
The Kimberly continue to be our home away from home. What you'll find at this establishment is family!! The staff here remains the same, and you can see the pride they take in ensuring their guests have a great time!! It's starts with leadership, notably their Sales Director and their GM, both of whom I had the opportunity to meet on this trip. Such a convenient location snd their onsite restaurants are amazing!! Thank you Kimberly for your continued amazing hospitality!! From the bell man to the front desk to housekeeping and to the restaurants!!
Our family of 4 had the opportunity to visit Manhattan for the first time towards the end of July 2024, after adding NYC as a stop heading back home…following our son's week-long baseball tournament in upstate New York. After researching hotels for nearly 9 months, looking specifically for suites, we thought that The Kimberly hotel was the PERFECT FIT for our family and we were so grateful we chose it! The rooms are IMPECCABLY CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, AND ELEGANT. The master and sofa beds were both INCREDIBLY SOFT, balcony had a nice open and walkable space, storage units were very useful, and we simply just enjoyed that the natural light really brightened up the entire room! Because Manhattan was in the last leg of our trip, we were a bit exhausted so our only regret was not being able to enjoy brunch at their rooftop restaurant. Other than that, EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT.... we were always greeted at the door and just felt very welcomed…which we appreciated. We want to give a special shout out to Dusty Garcia, Director of Guest Experience! She welcomed us the NYC way and was THE ABSOLUTE BEST... she took care of us and was just a sweetheart that listened to our interests, and was so thoughtful to offer suggestions on where to go! Having a customer service background, Dusty provided us with such memorable 5-STAR service that made our long family road trip from Chicago more special, leaving us feel more at ease during our stay. We'd also like to recognize the hospitality of Paul, Noel, Sadie, and David for making us feel at home and treating us like family. These staff members and their service were ALL EXCELLENT! The Kimberly is the PERFECT LOCATION to walk to many sites we wanted to see during our stay. It was such an AMAZING experience and we will definitely be back… it's our #1 CHOICE when we visit Manhattan again and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone considering QUALITY SERVICE! Having such GREAT STAFF makes a HUGE difference and goes a very long way. ***THANK YOU to the team at the Kimberly Hotel!*** From the “T” Family in Chicago! *PS - Dusty- again…you are so AWESOME!!!
What a wonderful find in NYC! Close enough to walk to Times Square but much less touristy and quiet with many good restaurants close by. Here to see a Broadway musical and was an easy -25 minute walk We stayed in a King one bedroom suite with balcony on the 25th floor and it was amazing! Very quiet and spacious with a very comfortable bed and pillow selection. Shower/tub had great water pressure which sometimes is hard to find and two sinks with nice amenities. The doormen were always so thoughtful, offering us water and much needed umbrellas when we left ours in our room in an unexpected downpour! Loved everything about our stay here and will definitely make this our hotel for future NYC trips!
My family stayed 4 nights at the Kimberly and loved everything about our stay from the friendly doormen to the comfy beds, quiet rooms and excellent housekeeping service. The location is excellent for exploring New York with great transport links and lots of great places to eat nearby, breakfast is really good, and the staff are so friendly and professional. Highly recommended.
This was hands down the best hotel we've ever stayed at. We've traveled all over the US - Beverly Hills down to Key West - and this hotel and their incredible staff made us feel like celebrities. They were incredibly present and attentive and always had a smile and kind word. And Harry, the doorman, was above and beyond, even providing us with umbrellas as we checked out because it looked like rain. He was incredible....but the entire staff was. Highly, highly recommend staying here and we will absolutely be back!
I've stayed many times at the Kimberly. Staff is wonderful, doormen personable and so helpful. Our suite was beautiful and very spacious. It always feels like home coming here. Bistango, one of the restaurants is excellent and the rooftop brunch and breakfast perfect. Thanks to A great Sales staff in making this trip the best ever!
We had a fabulous 4 night stay with our granddaughter. We loved the suite which included 2 separate rooms with closable doors each accessible to bathroom and entrance area. The doormen and front staff provided an exceptional welcome and check in experience. The daily housekeeping was first class and was greatly appreciated, enabling us to return home to our own private palace after each day's adventure. The location is perfect for Central Park, the Met, Moma, 5th Avenue shopping and countless restaurants. The NY city public transportation is 2nd to none and extremely convenient with subway stations just a short block or two from the front door. This was our first stay at The Kimberly and we are now huge fans! Great job everyone. We hope to stay with you again soon!
The Kimberly Hotel is awesome. All the employees are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The roof top bar is a great place for drinks and food. Love the location. Easy access to subways and plenty of great restaurants in the area. Highly recommend it.
Charming decor, beautiful art deco building. Nothing was too much for the staff, we were always asked about our day and were offered helpful advice. We stayed in a suite and really valued the space, having a fridge and dishwasher to make fresh and healthy plates before filling up on New York pizza and empanadas.
Another great stay at the Kimberly great rooms -the service is top-notch thank you MD for your hospitality Great location Spacious rooms Quiet hotel, excellent staff From the moment you check in until the moment the valley brings up your car an excellent stay
Excellent choice for my family trip. Staff is very friendly, located in a great spot to walk through the key touristic sites and close to the subway stations for different train routes/lines. Super clean! Which is my must as a mom. The room was beautifully decorated and a good variety of places to eat. Highly recommended!!!
The hotel was fab, great location felt very safe and comfortable walking around close to alot of the hot spots too! The room was really good as with two teenage daughters to have a separate bedroom and a pull out double in the lounge was a huge benefit! and some much needed space! Thanks for a lovely stay :))
Very good customer service, we had an issue with our room. The staff was quick to correct the issue. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The location is great. Near lots of points of interest. Door men were always friendly and willing to assist.
Our family of 4 absolutely LOVED our stay at the Kimberly Hotel. The staff is absolutely fantastic! Our boys (8 and 10 years old) loved all the doormen who chatted baseball with them every time we came in and out of the hotel - especially Ralph, what a gem! The rooms were huge by NYC standards, very roomy for our family of 4. The location can't be beat - a quick walk to the subway station on the corner made getting to any NYC attraction very easy. Very walkable to Central Park and Rockefeller Center. We will absolutely stay here again!
Everything about The Kimberly was great. Valet/doorman (Ralph) and bellhop (Nick) were fantastic. Staff helpful rooms were absolutely spectacular for the cost and location. Bedding and pillows were good quality, mattresses were comfortable. Balcony access was nice to have. Couldn't have been happier with our 3 night stay.
The Kimberly provided a fantastic experience! Friendly staff, large room, close to many sights. Shout out to the bell staff, especially Ralph, who were very attentive and pleasant. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others planning to visit NYC.
My wife had a terrible accident getting off the Amtrak train. She had three days in Bellevue Trauma Hospital and we had to extend our stay at the Kimberly hotel. Staff was helpful, for my wife, with our special needs to our room and personal car.
The Kimberly thinks of all the small details. Rooms are spacious, beds are super comfy including the pullout (American leather) kitchenette was very useful. Concierge very helpful in arranging airport transfers and helping us recover a hoody we left in a taxi. They mailed it back! Room was quiet and AC worked well. Loved the rooftop bar (adults only). Very convenient location. Walking distance to times square but far enough away to be quiet. Loved. Essa bagels around the corner.
This was my first time going to NY and the staff at the Kimberly Hotel were amazing and made the trip even better! They were so helpful with our stay and even gave tips on how to get around NY and told us about the weather, since it was raining a bit during our stay. The Hotel was also in a nice area off Lexington Ave and just around the corner from the Grand Central Terminal. I would definitely recommend staying at this Hotel.
This is a great hotel in a central area close to shops and Central Park, everything about it is 5 Star. It is so nice not to be in a chain hotel, all the staff from reception to housekeeping are welcoming and go out of their way to give fantastic service.
We had an amazing stay at the Kimberly Hotel! MD at the front desk was incredibly helpful, friendly and just an overall rock star. We loved our super spacious suite room which was plenty of room for the 2 of us and our teenager. We also used the very clean and well-equipped workout facility and enjoyed rooftop drinks! This is THE place to stay in midtown, perfect location, quiet and clean!
Great stay! Room was clean and cleaning daily was also well done! Had everything you needed in room, soaps, conditioner, lotion, hair dryer, umbrella, shoe shiner, robes, slippers and even a scale! Staff very helpful with anything needed.
Great hotel. The rooms are spacious and opt for the ones having a balcony. Breakfast is good and service is impeccable. The front doormen (two Albanian guys) are great! Centrally located and amazing views also from the restaurant. They also have a small terrace for coffee/ drinks.
A true gem of a hotel. Our 1bdrm suite was well-appointed and very comfortable. Furnishings very high-end. The bed linens, puppies and bath towels all excellent quality. Down pillows allowed us to experience the best sleep I've had in months. I highly recommend The Kimberly Hotel.
The staff was great but especially Ralph at the front door. He went above and beyond and made our trip extra special. Like I said everyone was great but first impressions at the Kimberly was exceptional. We had a cooler the gentleman that brought our luggage to our room insisted on getting us ice for it. Coming or leaving don't worry about opening a door they will always do it for you. There were too many things to tell you all of them but Yes I would definitely recommend the Kimberly
The only drawback was that the clothes I washed for the first time were very expensive. 460 usd just for clean my clothes Very expensive . The rest is ok. The people at the hotel are friendly and the rooms are clean. You have to pay for breakfast.
This is our third stay at the Kimberly. We stay here so we can entertain family and friends during our visit. The staff is always friendly and incredibly helpful. The rooms are large and clean. The rooftop bar and restaurant are lovely. And the location is unbeatable.
The Kimberly was everything we needed and SO much more ! Extreme comfort, security, and excellent attentive staff.Restaurants attached were delicious, and we were greeted by our name each time we returned ! The 2 story suite was very spacious , and the large outside deck was the cherry on top ! We couldn't have found a better place for our family long weekend.
Highly highly recommend. The rooms are spacious, every details feels thoughtful. The kitchen was so helpful to have. The hotel staff was extremely friendly. We loved the hotel location, easy walk to the theater district. We truly can't wait to be back. Thank you Kimberly Hotel!
The physical aspects of the hotel are perfect for a comfortable stay in midtown, the support staff is if anything, better. The location in the west end of the residential area is perfect for just wondering around. There is a beautiful public park on 51st Street East of third Avenue that is a gem
This was my first visit to NYC. My husband, knowing that I am not used to the hustle and bustle of a large city, booked the Kimberly as a respite for me. He was spot on. The hotel has a quiet elegance. The rooms were large and well appointed with everything from robes, slippers, umbrellas, waters in the fridge--there was even a scale discreetly tucked away on a shelf in the bathroom. We enjoyed having a sitting area, a large balcony, and even the jetted tub. Every day, we toured the city in the morning with my daughter (who lives on the upper east side) and came back to the Kimberly for a welcome quiet break in the late afternoon. After some down time at the Kimberly, I was ready to head out each night for dinner and more sightseeing. The Kimberly was quiet, conveniently located very close to a subway station, in what I felt was a safe, upscale area. I now look forward to returning to NYC--as long as I can have my quiet respite at the Kimberly-lol!
The Kimberley is that fabulous surprise in Midtown East in Manhattan. The suites are classic and large for Manhattan. Beautifully appointed down to every detail. The location is excellent for getting anywhere in Manhattan along with all three airports and Penn Station. It offers ultra luxury details with plenty of privacy. The UPSTAIRS is perfect for breakfast, after meeting refreshments of relaxing with a fabulous view. The dining options for your meals and to entertain guests and clients are wonderful options. The Kimberley has become my “go-to” hotel in Manhattan. You will feel the same way!
I recently stayed at The Kimberly Hotel for the second time, and once again, it exceeded all expectations. One of the main reasons we returned was Harry the bellhop, who is simply the best! Harry's warm welcome and exceptional service make each stay memorable. The one-bedroom suite with two double beds was perfect for our needs. The room was immaculate, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the shower was fantastic. The bath products provided had such a delightful fragrance. The hotel even sent up a cake for my daughter's birthday, adding a special touch to our stay. From check-in to room service and housekeeping, the entire staff was amazing. Every team member we encountered was friendly, professional, and attentive. The Kimberly Hotel truly knows how to make their guests feel valued. I highly recommend The Kimberly Hotel and look forward to our next stay!
This hotel has become a 20 year tradition with service that makes one's needs feel cared for in the heart of Manhattan. The staff stays there for a long time so you know they care for their team like they car for the costumer. Try their coffee first then n the rooftop cafe. The coffee is Columbian. Be sure to say hello to the staff for me.
I stayed at The Kimberly last month, and can say that it is a lovely hotel. I needed a hotel that had kitchen allowances, so I could make my own food. I also needed a fragrance free room. The Kimberly team were able to accommodate my requests. The room was clean, beautiful and quiet. I have to single out team members Ava, who helped me book the reservation, and front desk staff Sadie, who went above and beyond to assist when I needed a quiet place to do some work with a co-worker. Also wonderful, were the doorman and bell boy. Great team, lovely hotel, I highly recommend it, and hope to visit again!
My mom, 1.5 year old son and I recently travelled to NYC so that my son could have surgery at MSK Cancer Center. Needless to say, our trip was not under the best of circumstances. The Kimberly Hotel was an amazing experience. This hotel is so clean and well kept. The staff could not have been any more courteous or helpful to us. The staff truly make you feel like you are family and everyone is willing to go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Special thank you to Ralph who could not have been more accommodating to us! We hope to return to NYC for a leisurely trip one day and we will definitely be coming back to The Kimberly!
From the moment stepping outta the taxi, you are greeted with friendly and professional doormen (in old attire uniforms = love!), swept to the Front Desk, and up to our Suite. The elegance of the decor and cleanliness are apparent from the first view from the doorway. The service is exactly as thought would be and every aspect of our stay lived up to the expectations The Kimberly has! Centrally located at Lexington and 50th, steps from 5th Avenue, shops, Rockefeller Centre, Central Park, Broadway, and the subway system. Didn't get the time to dine at "Empire Steak House", but just a peek inside left me definitely wanting to return and experience its ambiance and tastes! Having breakfast on the rooftop with the window ajar with a view of the Chrysler Building, just was the perfect way to finish out accommodations at the infamous establishment of "The Kimberly Hotel" in NYC!
Excellent hotel experience!! Great location that is close and accessible to tourist attractions. Attentive and responsive staff from the beginning to the end. Restaurants great as well. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit New York.
My daughter had an interview and I came along for the trip. The hotel staff were wonderful and the room was amazing. One of the best roof top bars ! Made reservations for the rooftop as soon as she found out what hotel the company had booked her in. We will definitely return.
We had an outstanding stay at the Kimberly Hotel. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and super comfortable. Every member of the staff we encountered was gracious and helpful. The hotel's location in midtown Manhattan proved perfect and convenient for everywhere we wanted to go. I easily and highly recommend this hotel. 5/5 stars, without hesitation!
There are not enough words to express how wonderful it is to stay at the Kimberly. The rooms are so spacious and nice. My daughter and I booked a suite and it was great to have the extra room. All the staff were kind and attentive. Make sure you ate at Bistango and the Empire Steakhouse. Both were wonderful. When you go to Bistango make sure to ask for Milan. He was so kind and welcoming!
My girlfriend and I walked past and got chatting to the doorman Ralph who must be the best doorman in the world! We had a couple of cocktails next to a huge fish tank which was perfect and got talking to more great staff. Ralph is the reason we decided to book a table for dinner on a separate day he needs a promotion!
We stopped in for some food and drinks and loved every moment! Fresh food, delicious drinks, and amazing staff. Our experience was made so special by Ralph, who works at the front door. His kindness and generosity is something we will never forget and we will be coming back very soon because of him!
From the first greeting at the curb until the farewell upon leaving, one feels that the staff at the Kimberly cannot do enough for you during your stay. The rooms are large and very comfortable. You could spend a month or a day and feel right at home. The hotel goes way beyond excellent.
One of the quietest hotel rooms I have ever been in. Great accommodations with a lot of little extras in the room to make your stay better. The rooms are very good sized and the beds are very comfortable. It's also very nice to have a noon checkout time.
This was an excellent property. Our one bedroom suite was very nice, the bed was comfortable, and housekeeping was terrific. The only drawback, if there was one, was the smallness of the bathroom. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. The bellmen were very nice and efficient. We would stay there again.
Old bathroom loud noise with water uses No pool or even fitness Overall overpriced for the quality which was $550 per night for our stay..not sure if it is reasonably priced in NY but still i could have gotten better services Okay location to walk to attractions No breakfast option.
We always stay at the Kimberly. The suites are so lovely and comfortable, and the staff, from the doormen to the registration, are all welcoming and helpful. We sleep well in the comfortable beds with luxurious linens. The suites are well-appointed.
If you're looking for lodging in Midtown East, this is a good one. After some brief wrestling with the wall thermostat, we settled in for a comfortable 4-night stay. There's a bar with outdoor seating on the 30th floor, and one-bedroom suites with terraces if you're interested. A clean, quiet place to count your blessings.
We always stay here when coming to New York. The staff is always wonderful, especially the bellman who is always very friendly every single visit. The room is clean and large enough for a family of 4. Terrific location with plenty of dining options within a short walk.
This is my favorite hotel in NYC! It commands a nice presence on 50th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues. I love the traditional old world ambiance! The rooms are large by NY standards and charming with all the modern amenities. But the nicest part of staying here is the way the staff makes you feel. Everyone exhibits the concern and attention that a host would to a cherished guest. Amazing! I hope they never change!!
As usual, the room was outstanding as was the attention of the staff. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when in NYC! Kudos to the Kimberly!
The hotel was beautiful and everyone was nice and gracious. The online check in was smooth and quick. Jose and MD were especially helpful with my luggage and ordering a cab for me, respectively. MD was kind and remembered I was a guest when I came back to get my luggage and assisted me right away. Jose also remembered me and both made me feel welcomed. I appreciate both their help and hope to come again! Will be recommending the hotel to friends, coworkers, and family!
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It charged me for 3 nights. After calling for a refund for 4 weeks, they gave me partial refund. I showed up at the hotel. They told me they didn't have the room I booked and they will give me a different room instead. They never told me they'll charge me double the amount for that room. I got charged for 2 rooms for that one night and eventually after pleading for a month, got back a refund for the wrong amount. Very unpredictable. DO NOT recommend. I am heading to consumer court to get my money back.
Truly wonderful hotel with awesome staff who were knowledgeable and able to accommodate a last minute room switch incredibly well. No complaints. Not too far from the subway either. My kiddo loved the fish tank. Also great crib they provided for the baby. A+ hotel and staff.
This is Midtown's best kept secret. It's conveniently located near subway access, to include Grand Central Station. We came by train and our cab was greeted by the doorman who was very friendly and helped us with our luggage. The lobby decor is old world traditional, but in good shape. When we checked in, the clerk let me know that because my name is Kimberley, the hotel would like to give me a new plush bathrobe (like the ones in the room) with “Kimberly” monogram on the chest. They sent it up to our room in a Kimberly shopping bag. It's an awesome robe! I guess they do this for all their guests named Kimberly! Our 1 bedroom suite was ENORMOUS! Not just by NYC standards, but by most anywhere! The furnishings were a bit dated, but in good condition. Nice bed and linens, nice kitchenette and lots of closet space. Had a very large balcony (didn't expect that). The bathroom was the only aspect that was just average. It's small and the bathtub/shower was narrow and kind of slippery. It was fine, but nothing special. The hotel is very quiet, even though there was a very large group staying there. WiFi worked fine. There is a rooftop bar, which is nice and SUPER busy at times. We ate at the Italian restaurant there - Bistango. Dinner was good and the service was friendly and attentive. The Empire restaurant mostly touts their burgers, but the space is very posh. We just went to the bar there. The staff there is also very friendly and we chatted with them for a while at the bar. Elevators were fast and usually empty. Checkout was very easy and quick. The doorman hailed a cab for us when leaving - convenient, because 50th St. is kind of quiet there. We'll be back!
This is the ONLY hotel to stay in if you are visiting New York on business or pleasure (I did both). The staff are so helpful, MD and Ralph in particular - and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are gorgeous with balconies and amazing views, and the location is wonderful. Book a room here and you won't be disappointed.
Hotel gem! Very spacious, luxurious rooms with balconies, a rarity in mid-town Manhattan. Walking to all attractions, friendly staff and several great options for dining - including a roof top restaurant. Hard to find a boutique hotel with a personalm high-end feel at a reasonable price, The Kimberly has it.
Our family (5 people) stayed in a two bedroom room during the 2024 solar eclipse. Our accommodation was wonderful and the hotel staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. The sofa bed is super comfortable with a thick mattress and we had a balcony, from which we could see the eclipse. I would highly recommend the hotel.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Kimberly. It was our first time and we didn't experience any problems. The location on West 50th is convenient to many attractions and restaurants. The room was very spacious (one bedroom suite). No view to speak of but it did have an outdoor balcony. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard but they will make you a cooked to order omelet. There are also some ala carte choices. The view from the 'Upstairs" restaurant were very nice. They also have two restaurants in the lobby and a huge salt water aquarium. We would definitely put this hotel high on our list for a repeat visit.
My favorite hotel to stay when in NYC - Easy check in - Very Friendly Staff, room Cleanness overall excellent!! I would recommend The Kimberly to all my friends.
We stayed in a King Suite, 2 adults, a teen and child. The Kimberly was amazing. The Suite was a great size, very clean, bigger than pictures and had everything that we needed. Staff was excellent, so helpful and accommodating. The location is near several local restaurants, bodega, bagel and pizza place. Great access to subways and walking distance to Rock Center and Time Square. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel for the price.
Terrific people. Excellent room and rooftop bar. Greeted warmly during checkin. Checkin quick and easy. Spacious room complete with expected amenities Walking distance to most of uptown's sites and shopping but out of the way enough to be relatively quiet and not hectic Our new “go to” hotel when visiting NYC
The service and friendliness at this hotel is next level. Big rooms too with balcony . That hard to find in Manhattan. MD at the Front Desk is world class and very helpful A walk to the Theater, Shopping, 5th Avenue, St.Patricks, Central Park, and so much more was accomplished from this location. Also Subway entrance literally across the street. Great hotel would definitely stay there again.
My sister and I love the Kimberly- great staff, large rooms, close to all we want to do. We have stayed there a number of times. And, we love the huge fish tank! We especially like the suites with the kitchenettes. Looking forward to our next visit!
What a great hotel! Rooms are large and large and comfortable. Sitting/ living room and small kitchenette make it feel like an apartment, instead of a room. Location is perfect! Walking distance to many attractions. I'd come back for sure!
The rooms are huge, they have balconies, the hotel is absolutely beautiful and the breakfast buffet was great. The thing that made this hotel so wonderful was the service. It was my 10 year old daughter's first trip to the city and the bellman made her feel special from the moment we arrived. They went above and beyond the entire trip. They also looked out for us when we were leaving and arriving. They staff was quick to meet any need we had. I will never forget the kindness and service from this hotel. Can't wait to come back!
This is one of the best Hotels that we ever stayed at. The rooms are huge and the service is amazing. The doorman Ralph was one of the nicest individuals I ever met. He made our stay welcoming. Highly recommend for a family of 4. Everything was spotless and the food was amazing.
Always a great experience with great service. And a great midtown location. Sadie at the front desk went above and beyond accommodating us. Everyone is the best. This was our 7th stay and we will be back. The penthouse is great for a complimentary coffee and snack during the day and drinks and late night dinner.
Fantastic location, great service and clean rooms. Really a good value for money in the area. Rooftop is fun and staff is friendly and always helpful. Quiet rooms. The room is spacious and comfortable with old style but refurbished room. Great hotel
I stayed at the Kimberly hotel from April 5th to the 6th for a celebration of life. The brunch was absolutely Amazing! Besides all the amenities, what really stood out the most for me was the service! Hands down the Best service I have ever experienced! There are a few employees that really stood out that went above and beyond! In no special order, I wanted to name them! Max(Mentor) and Ralph were hands down INCREDIBLE! Also, Nick and Harry went above and beyond as well! Words can not express how grateful I am for all the assistance and care they gave! Also, MD at the front desk was extremely helpful and kind as well! As nice as this Hotel is, it is actually the service that will bring me back! Hands down the Best hotel experience Ever!!xx
Excellent hotel, friendly staff that go above and beyond. Clean facility. Very convenient to all sites. Restaurants at the hotel are good. The penthouse bar is excellent. Rooms are quite spacious for the city. We had a king suite and we stayed with our two children. There are two full baths which is a big plus. Will stay here again.
This is a great hotel. The location is excellent. Good food and drug store options nearby. One block from the 6 and three blocks from the E trains. An easy walk to Grand Central. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They took care of our luggage. The staff was excellent and always looking to help us. Harry at the front desk checked-in on us to make sure any additional needs were taken care of. I would gladly stay here again.
Old school feel with authentic NY charm. The bellmen out front are very hospitable. Rooftop, whether for breakfast or nightcaps is outstanding. Felt very safe the entire time, great proximity to NY energy but very quiet room. Would highly recommend
Another good stay. Only advice is they always say when you arrive early to leave your bags and phone number and they will call you when the room is ready. Stay here all the time for business and leisure trips and have never received a call. They might want to improve on that.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Kimberly. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The service was excellent - everyone was very friendly and helpful, much more than at other places I've stayed in NYC. The location is great, walkable to many attractions. I'm very happy we found this hotel!
A truly amazing hotel with excellent staff . Extremely comfortable and relaxing. The rooms are huge with all the added extras. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are always ready to help. A home from home in the city within walking distance of Times Square
Love this hotel! There was so much space in our suite- unheard of in manhatten. Lots of special touches - umbrellas, free bottled water, etc. Great location. Everything was perfect. Responded immediately when told them remote needs new batteries
The Kimberly Hotel was the perfect home base for us to explore Manhattan. Super convenient for walking to 5th Avenue, Times Square, Central Park and quick hired drives to the major attractions. On a less busy street which was nice, and two good restaurant choices right from the hotel lobby. All the staff were lovely. We had a great experience and would stay again in future.
This hotel was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. The hotel was very clean. Our hotel room was beautiful, and we had plenty of room. Whenever we left the hotel the bellman were so helpful, making sure we were headed somewhere safe, running to get us umbrellas to keeps us dry. I cannot say enough good things about these hotel. We will definitely be staying here again. I high recommend this hotel.
Great service, ambience, and large comfortable suites/rooms. My “go to”hotel whenever we are in New York. Location is central to everything and attached restaurants are worthy of high praise. I am a great fan of the Kimberly! The doorman even greets you by your name on repeat stays-makes you feel at home.
The Kimberly Hotel was such a great experience. Such a classic, quaint hotel in a great location. The staff was unbelievable-they treated you like a family member not a guest! The on-site restaurants and rooftop bar were awesome. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice, classic, safe place to stay in NYC!
Having stayed at hotels over the years, I would say our nicely sized room at the Kimberly was unusually quiet (alasno view) and very comfy. Great pillows! We had a little kitchen and a very large bathroom -- chose the Handicapped option on Expedia. Staff is lovely. Decor borders on kitsch, and we loved it for what it is.
We had the pleasure of staying at the Kimberly where we've had two suites. We have now found our home away from home in the city. The staff is an integral backbone of this hotel. It started with communication with the Sales Director, Ms. James, whose responsiveness was incredible! I knew from that connection that this was validation of all I've read about this staff and this property, We were greeted by the wonderful staff upon check in. We then developed a great relationship with Mo and Cheryl the evening crew at the desk who couldn't be any kinder and helpful. They definitely helped made our stay even more pleasant. We had meals in both the Upstairs and Bistango restaurants. They were both amazing and the staff fit both were equally amazing. Our suites were amazingly spacious, and the bed was oh so comfortable. The only thing we encountered was low pressure in the flushing of the toilets which could have been due to the floor level. This was never a show stopper. While the hotel is centrally located, it was also on a quiet street. Kudos again to the entire staff, we can't wait to be back.
A first time stay at the Kimberly Hotel. Did a Tuesday night in a one bedroom suite with balcony. I would describe the hotel as quaint from the rooms, to the rooftop lounge, the commons areas, even the front desk had a Art Deco old time phone that functions. Can not give any feedback on the neighborhood as we had 3 planned visits at Rockerfeller Center, Hudson Yards and Peak restaurant in Hudson Yards via cab. The room and bedding was comfortable and spacious for major city. It was filled with vintage looking comfortable accessories. The best part was the staff from the welcoming doorman and valets to the front desk and including the rooftop bar staff everyone was friendly, helpful and professional. Will return and can highly recommend. Since it is in New York City it is not valued priced but was certainly priced correctly for the services and space provided. Can recommend the valet parking(no in/out, quick), the rooftop lounge in evening for drinks/views and the bed was highly comfortable.
We stayed at the kimberly for 3 nights in their luxury one bedroom suite. It was a mixed bag. The good : the suite was very spacious with a separate living area, dining table set and a galley type kitchen. Large bedroom with lots of storage space. The suite was spotless. The housekeeping staff were 100% amazing as were the doormen. One of the front desk staff was very helpful providing options for dinner choices when the concierge was not available. Great location. The bad: the individual who checked us in barely made eye contact or smiled and was not welcoming at all. The bathroom had a gaping hole behind the toilet which made my daughter very uncomfortable. Sure it wasn't anything nefarious but why would a luxury hotel put guests in a suite in this condition especially when hidden cameras are something people are concerned about? We noticed this on our first night and didn't want anyone coming into the room to investigate so late at night. I called the front desk, relayed the issue and asked to be contacted the next day to resolve our concern. No one ever followed up. We used a towel to block the hole for our stay. Tip: The view from the Luxury suites with two beds is a bit rough. Choose the king bed option for a better view.
I just stayed at the Kimberly with my 9 year old daughter. We had the absolute best time and she rated it “the best hotel ever” Beautiful, clean, spacious and charming. The front desk and doormen were exceptional and made my daughter feel like a princess. The restaurants were beautiful and delicious. The kindness and attentiveness of the staff really made this .. our first trip to NYC absolutely unforgettable ! We will be back!
From the time you walk in every single staff member is professional and attentive. This is consistent every time we stay at The Kimberly! It is truly the best hotel in midtown. Close to the theatre district, shopping, and great restaurants.
Old style Hollywood type of vibe. It's a beautiful hotel. My room was humongous. It was a king suite with a balcony that was accessible. Everyone was so polite and helpful. It's in the perfect spot not too far from all the good luxury shopping on 5th ave and not too far from Times Square.
Spent one night with my daughter and grandchildren. The staff is super friendly and very gracious. Rooms are spacious. Great location, we chose this one for its proximity to Grand Central Station. Room was very quiet, not a lot of outside noise. Would definitely stay here again!
The Kimberly was truly wonderful to stay at for our family. The suite was a game changer, it was so clean and the beds super comfortable. I think we've found our spot for staying in NYC! Also very conveniently located and the staff was friendly and helpful.
After staying there many times through the years, The Kimberly never disappoints! From the front desk staff to the doormen to the maids….the entire experience was superb on every level and the suites are spotless. 5 stars! It is the perfect place to stay in New York whether for a day or a month!
Hotel is in pristine condition. Rooms huge for price and clean. Great for families. Our 3 young daughters loved the hotel and especially the fish tank. In terms of value i have yet to see better in midtown. Short walk to Rockefeller and Times Square. We will be back. Thank you!
Wanted to stay in a central location but also wanted more than just one room for our family of 4. Kimberley was absolutely perfect - nice comfy double room for us, and a living room with sofa bed and pullout bed for the kids. Two bathrooms as well. Balcony was not somewhere you'd want to go out onto but at least we had some light. Not super spacious of course (this is New York) but cosy even in February and incredibly well located. Could walk to so many places yet weren't in the tourist mayhem of Times Square. Hotel style is very much classic. No attempts at coolness - this is a carpet and cosy wood kind of place - which worked very well. Service was astonishingly good. Reception team nice, doormen super friendly and the guys at breakfast were truly fantastic (big shout to the Albanian football-fan waiter!). We had breakfast included and there was a nice choice available. Lovely breakfast/bar room too. Considering everything else in New York was unbelievably expensive, the Kimberley is also spectacular value. A gem.
Unbelievable Hotel, couldn't ask for more from the staff. Came for my wife's 50th and were surprised by a complimentary bottle of bubbly to help celebrate the occasion. Great location and easy to navigate everywhere you want to go…will be returning
My wife accompanied me for a business trip. We had no hot water the first day of our stay. I was promised updates on the repair, which never came, as well as a call from the manager, which also never came. I don't think the hotel could possibly have cared less about the inconvenience. I'll update this if I ever hear from them.
The hotel is comfortable with an old European flare. The staff and service is always exceptional. They are in a great location within walking distance to Park and Madison. The rooftop is relaxing for breakfast and great for drinks in the evening.
The Kimberly was everything and more. We had a suite with two queens and separate living room with kitchenette. It must have been a small apartment at one time as the living room is huge. There's plenty of room to walk around the beds and three big closets. The beds are very comfortable. It is a boutique hotel with only a few rooms on each floor so it's very quiet. The staff is welcoming and responsive. Requested ice was delivered within 2 minutes, the doormen and bell hops greeted us coming and going all weekend, doors were opened for us and front desk staff very welcoming. Have a drink at the rooftop bar as the atmosphere is fun and yet again, the wait staff was attentive. We never once had to ask to refill water and plates were cleared promptly. We will most definitely be back.
We stayed at The Kimberly Hotel in early January. I was a part of a group in New York participating in a cultural exchange. The hotel is well maintained and we had a very comfortable stay. The location was perfect for our trip as we were close to restaurants, shopping and theatres. Our experience was enhanced by the care shown to us by all the staff. Thank You: Ralph and the staff at the front door who assisted with our luggage and really looked out for our large group on our daily arrivals and departures. Sadie and the front desk crew who were so pleasant and answered all our questions with clarity. Jose and other bell staff who always had a smile and ensured we got all our packages to our rooms. Jing and the housekeeping staff who kept our areas tidy and refreshed our rooms. Riyad, Gus and the breakfast team who looked out for us every morning. Thank you for making provisions for us to dine together at breakfast and remembering how we take our coffee. It may seem like a small thing but it helped us to feel like we were 'home' for that week away from home. To Marcia you are an exceptional host and we appreciate all that you and your staff did to ensure that our trip to New York was a successful one. I would definitely recommend The Kimberly Hotel for business or family travel when in NYC. Nadia
Stayed here with my wife and two daughters over the Christmas period. It's a fantastic hotel, only a 2 minute walk to the nearest subway station. There are 3 restaurants on site, plus a lot more within walking distance. Rooms are extremely well maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Beds are very comfortable as well. I'd be more than happy to stay here again.
Fantastic hotel in a great location, superb service, amenities, and friendly staff. Three great restaurants, room service and an amazing rooftop, with valet parking makes it the perfect hotel in New York City.
Could not be happier with this hotel. First time here- read the reviews which were accurate and glowing. The staff is wonderful. The room is enormous by NYC standards and by most standards Huge living room, patio, comfortable bed, 2 sinks, good makeup area, great kitchenette Absolutely love this hotel and will definitely come back! Added bonus is it's .5 mile walk to my best friend Almost forgot The rooftop bar is awesome
This was the most gracious hotel I've stayed in while in NYC. All the staff are attentive, helpful and kind. The rooms are very comfortable, well appointed and well equipped. It was a step back to the hotel experience of the past: the doorman who hands you an umbrella for your walk in the rain. The same doorman who teaches your grandchild the “Kimberly Handshake.” The writing paper in the desk. The amazingly lush and comfortable bed and pillows. And a fridge and microwave too. And then there is the rooftop bar, where you can also make yourself a cup of afternoon tea, or enjoy a breakfast buffet while you enjoy the view.
The rooms were beautiful and clean. For us the location was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The concierge was very helpful with directions and places to eat. The Bellmen were also helpful in hailing taxis. We will return soon.
The Kimberly is a charming boutique hotel conveniently located in the midtown east area of Manhattan at 50th and 3rd Ave. We visited the Upstairs rooftop bar several years ago and said when we go back - this is where we stay! We celebrated my husband's 65th birthday and our recent retirement. Customer service was excellent. Lunch, Dinner and the Upstairs appetizer options were all delicious and the servers were top-notch. Our suite was spacious and the balcony was a special treat. Did I mention the best-ever bed linens? We will definitely be back for our next visit to New York.
I have never stayed at The Kimberly before so didn't know what to expect. My stay exceeded any expectations I may have had for this business trip. For a few days it felt like a home away from home. The staff was attentive, the decor was well designed with a warm cozy feel and not sterile ultra modern environments that remind you are away from your loved ones. The Bistango restaurant downstairs was wonderful and I loved their unique variations of Italian classics. The lightly fried fresh burrata was so tasty and the prociutto topped Italian flatbread was the perfect food after a long day. The rooms were spacious and the views of the city at night are breathtaking. I was attending an evening at their rooftop lounge, and the service was great. The Kimberly runs a well managed hotel and I would encourage anyone staying in NYC to book at this boutique hotel over the usual hotel chains. I know I will next trip.
This is a classic, grand hotel that makes you feel right at home the moment you step into the lobby. If you upgrade to the suite, it feels like you have your own apartment right in the city. The staff was excellent and I loved my stay.
It's our favorite place to stay in Manhattan. It has been for 20 years. The rooms are spacious and clean. Great location. The hospitality of the staff alone is enough to keep us coming back. It was great to see Jose and Ralph. Happy retirement Gregory!
The Kimberly never fails to please. It has become my home away from home whenever I am in NY for business or pleasure. Great spacious rooms, super welcoming staff everywhere. Upstairs for breakfast or coffee is excellent. Located is great. Go for the one bedroom.
The staff, the room, the professionalism was all above expectations. This stay became an oasis in a very hectic travel stretch. The front desk was exceptionally kind to my children. Could not have been more pleased.
The Kimberly is beautiful hotel and our room (2 bedroom suite) was very spacious and well appointed. We had fantastic city views and it is an ideal location near two subway stops. The staff were friendly and very responsive to multiple requests for more towels and coffee supplies. We did eat at the penthouse restaurant upon arrival and it was okay but no nothing special.
A spectacular place to stay with a family. Having a 1BR apartment in midtown Manhattan for a week was the perfect way to vacation in NYC. The staff was incredibly helpful, the room was spacious (we're a family of five) and the beds were comfortable. The breakfasts were great, the rooftop bar and restaurant was a treat and we really enjoyed the Italian restaurant one night. We give it top marks as we felt at home for our entire stay.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room with two double beds is of decent size. I had to check out early, so didn't get to enjoy the hotel facilities or restaurants as I would have liked. Located on 50th and 3rd Ave, the subway station is a few steps from hotel.
We stayed at the Kimberly for two nights and we're so happy we stayed there. After looking at A LOT of Midtown hotels and trying to find one with an amazing view from a balcony, this is the one. Location: A+! 6 train takes you downtown or uptown a half block away. Room: A! Balcony view was amazing. Living room, huge bathroom, great shower, comfortable mattress, etc. We were fortunate to be placed in room 29F and it was what we were hoping for! The AC unit was loud and no furniture on balcony, but the only reasons to knock from perfection. Hotel Facility: NA! We didn't visit the Upstairs rooftop bar besides to check it out quick. The lobby was beautiful. One elevator was out so it was interesting riding the service elevator with staff, but they were very kind about it. From reservations to check-in to a surprise for our anniversary, everything was perfect and everyone was exemplary. Top notch customer service. Thank you to all of the staff for treating us so well during our stay. We'll have lasting memories of our stay in The City.
Loved the location; we walked to Broadway each night of our stay. The room was very comfortable with beautiful decor. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. I will stay here again when I visit New York
The Hotel is amazing. Great Front Desk Staff and Bell Man. The rooms are big and luxurious. Classic NYC decor. The location is amazing. We are from Mexico and any information or reservations that we needed were quickly handled by everyone.
The Kimberly is a diamond in the rough! Amazing staff and amazing amenities. The restaurants are good, the facilities are great and the staff! Amazing! Jose and Peter both made our stay amazing. I would recommend the Kimberly for anyone staying in New York. Felt like staying in a small town boutique hotel in a large city!
We stayed here for US Open and it was perfect! The suite was comfortable, clean and nicely appointed. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Perfect location for pretty much anything— great area in NYC! Restaurants are walking distance— recommend one across the street if looking for Indian cuisine.
Great location! What a wonderful place to stay.. classic … beautiful and clean.. loved everything about The Kimberly! My son and I were in town for the US Open and we met several other guest during our stay. Valet, front desk and concierge were so friendly and helpful. You will love your stay here.. we did!
We lived in a clean room, but there was a constant noise from some devices downstairs by the windows. It was like an airport or a shuttle launch. Considering the price, Frank Sinatra would have to sing to us every morning to make us happy. We're not coming back
The Kimberly exceeded our expectations!! The location was perfect, the suite gorgeous, the bedding so comfortable, and the staff friendly and knowledgeable!! It doesn't get any better than this perfect 10 !!
There was a small mix-up with the reservation, the staff told us to have a complimentary coffee and pastry while it was sorted, when we returned the room was upgraded to a suite. The staff could not have been nicer and more professional. Breakfast was lovely, in a nice setting and again the staff was friendly, helpful and lovely. I would stay again, given the location, the staff and the space.
PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE! I am a weekly guest here to receive medical treatment at a nearby hospital, and every stay here has been delightful! The staff at the Kimberly is amazing! Crystal in Reservations, Arian and Sophia at Upstairs, Ralph the Doorman, and the staff at the front desk, are simply Wonderful! The accommodations are spacious and extremely clean and comfortable! The beds are so comfortable that you do not want to get up in the morning! The Upstairs rooftop restaurant/lounge is is FANTASTIC! With beautiful views and excellent service! The value that you receive at the Kimberly is unmatched. I highly recommend the Kimberly hotel to anyone who is planning to stay in the city, whether it be overnight or for longer stay! The Kimberly hotel is a must when visiting NYC!
The Kimberly staff were so helpful and nice. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to NYC. I enjoyed my 1 bedroom suite which had a balcony and a small kitchen. The Rooftop had a good breakfast buffet (which was extra). The location was very convenient with plenty of restaurants nearby including the amazing “Spice Symphony” directly across the street. I was able to walk to the theater as well as Rockefeller Center. All in all, an excellent hotel!
Our family stayed at The Kimberly for four nights at the beginning of August. Upon arrival, we received very attentive service from the doormen and porters who took our luggage into the hotel while we dealt with the taxi driver and then reception for check-in. They would always greet and open doors for us during our stay, always happy to answers question or just chat. Not used to such white glove old school New York service, it definitely added to the hotel's charms. Early check-in wasn't an option, so we left our luggage and went out for the day. The hotel said they would notify me when the room was ready. While we were out, I missed their call but they didn't leave a voicemail or text me, so I had to call back to confirm the room was ready. We were pleased with our very spacious and clean one bedroom suite with separate living area and sofa bed. It was nice not to be on top of each other and we felt very comfortable. There was also plenty of drawers and closet space, more than enough for four people. We also took full advantage of the kitchenette (fridge, microwave, toaster, sink, plate, glasses, cutlery), purchasing bagels and cream cheese from Essa-A-Bagel and other groceries for breakfast and snacks from Trader Joe's. I did go to the Starbucks down the street for coffee too impatient to try figuring out the coffee machine but my husband used it a few times. To address some of the issues from other reviews, we did have one bathroom sink that drained slowly. Probably needed some Draino, we didn't think this was a big deal. We liked the toiletries provided, plus Plackers, bandaids, ear plugs, etc., and that housekeeping provided clean towels everyday if we needed them. For some reason, no matter how many times I changed the AC temperature, it would revert back to super cold. My family didn't mind because it was very hot in New York during our stay so I gave up. We also found you need super human strength to open the balcony door. It's old and heavy. I had requested balcony furniture online and over the phone, so was disappointed not see it set up upon arrival. Housekeeping was happy to bring it up when I called, but sent two guys to set up a small table and two folding chairs who we had to tip. We faced the building next door (where people slept in full view with their shades open) but still enjoyed sitting out there if we could the door open. The hotel is in a safe area with plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. I agree it's close to attractions but when you have RA like me and it's blazing hot outside, places feel farther to get to. I would say it took us 15 minutes to walk to Bryant Park and 20-25 minutes to get to Times Square. However, the subway is five minutes away and we used it frequently. Only my husband went to the rooftop lounge to check it out and he said the staff were not very welcoming when it was clear he wouldn't be paying for anything and just wanted to look around. They serve free pastries and coffee upstairs for guests during set times. Overall, an excellent stay with lovely staff and only some minor grievances. I definitely recommend the hotel if space and access to a kitchen is important.
I can't say enough good things about The Kimberly Hotel! The staff was wonderful and so kind; I've honestly never had better a better experience at any other hotel. The hotel was gorgeous and extremely clean. Everything from linens to toiletries was top of the line. We have found our new hotel for when we return to New York
Stayed here for 2 nights and it was an excellent stay. The location is fantastic - very easy walking distance to many major tourist sights, but also close to the subway. There is definitely street noise, but it can't be helped in New York. We really loved this place. On the one hand it has a classic, old school, retro decor, but it doesn't feel old and dated - everything is in good repair. Our suite had a small kitchen area and living room, with a separate king bedroom. The linens were lovely, and robes/Nespresso machine were provided. Toiletries provided were an upscale brand. People at the front desk were friendly and kind. If I had to find fault, the lock on the door to the balcony was broken, and the bedroom door could not close all the way (the door seemed just a touch too big for the frame). We had a great stay and would not hesitate to return here; in fact, I can't imagine staying anywhere else if I return to New York.
Booked online directly through the hotel's website. Never got an email confirmation but had the reservation details printed just in case (sure glad I did). Emailed the hotel a few days before our arrival to make sure everything was fine. Got a computer generated reply with a different reservation number, wrong number of guests and more expensive nightly rates. After pointing this out, and many back and forth exchanges, all of which were answered by the hotel reservation department in the most terse manner (no proper salutation/greetings, acknowledgment of their mistake or reassurance that they would fix the problem), was finally told that a manager would look into it. Was left under the impression that nobody really took time to read the email and attached documentation (i.e copy of my initial reservation details) and was left feeling like I was begging for a rebate whereas I only wanted to hotel to respect the initial terms of the reservation. In the end, received no apologies for the mistake, simply another computer generated confirmation with the right price this time, but the incorrect number of guests (one adult instead of 2 + child). Was a little worried that this would be a problem once we got to the hotel (it turned out front desk staff was very accommodating), but just did not feel like wasting more time of my precious vacation arguing or looking for a different place. While the hotel experience in itself was really nice (we had the luxury one bedroom suite which was comfortable and very spacious) and the service provided on site was impeccable, I would be hesitant to return given how poorly my reservation was handled pre-arrival.
My stay at the Kimberly Hotel was from August 12th to August 13th. My stay there was excellent and the staff at Kimberly always treat me with such kindness. The Upstairs at the Kimberly is simply amazing views of Midtown Manhattan especially when the rooftop is open up. It is such a fun atmosphere and I truly love it. This is my 3rd time coming here during the month of August and each time I had a great time. I would strongly recommend someone staying at the Kimberly Hotel.
The BED is so comfortable. Nothing like having a good night sleep away from home. Customer service from all aspect top notch. Recommend to anyone traveling to Manhattan area. The roof top bar is nice and laid back with smoking section for the traveling smokers!!!
Best stay we've had in NYC! From the spacious suite with the comfy beds (even the sofa bed was nice!) to the well appointed mini bar to cocktails at the Upstairs rooftop bar, we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We brought our 16 year old to NYC to celebrate his birthday. They let us check in early. All of the staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating. The room was beautiful. Bonus balcony and jet tub jacuzzi. Will definitely be back
This is our go to hotel in Manhattan. Center location. Large rooms and great staff to assist in any way possible to make your visit to NYC memorable. Just a block away from 2nd and 3rd where you can fine dinning options everywhere. PJ Clark's is one of our favorites. Enjoy the city. It is the best!!!
We found the Kimberly a couple of years ago in our search to stay in the city. We loved it so much that we said when we go back, this is where we're staying we upgraded to a bigger room this time and the stay was better than our first time, the hotel is clean the rooms are fantastic. The beds are comfortable and the rooftop bar is amazing. We highly recommend the Kimberly if you're going to be spending the night in Manhattan.
Absolutely loved this hotel! Not only was it close to my office and some fabulous restaurants but the staff went out of their way to make my stay smooth. The room was impeccable- spacious and had everything and more than I needed. I will absolutely be going back
The Kimberly Hotel was an amazing place. It has that high class old style New York feel for a great price. Our room was awesome (1 bedroom suite). It fit the four of us perfectly and was right in the heart of NYC. It was clean, comfortable and had a balcony. We would definitely recommend staying here. Check in was easy, the bell hops took great care of our luggage and car and were extremely helpful. The food we had at the hotel was also very good. We will be back
Our stay at the Kimberly Hotel was fabulous! I can't get over how friendly the staff was. I have stayed in hotels all over the world, and the Kimberly Hotel staff is above the rest. From check-in to check-out, they went out of their way to make our stay perfect. As far as location, the area was perfect. We felt very safe in the neighborhood, and it was walking distance to Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and St. Patrick's Cathedral. The room was immaculate and had a ton of amenities. If you are looking for a hotel in Manhattan away from the chaos, this is the hotel for you. I can't wait to come back!
We stayed here in July with our family and had two of their balcony suites. Both rooms were stunning! Very clean and well decorated and appointed. The beds were so comfortable and housekeeping were efficient and so very nice. All the hotel personnel were friendly and the doormen remembered our names. HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you like quality, security, and special touches in your rooms. Will absolutely return for our next stay.
The suite was magnificent! Absolutely immaculate. The service was top notch! We absolutely will be back! The location is also perfect. You can easily walk everywhere! Valet parking was also very reasonable for the location. The Empire Steak House is fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! Thank you again!
The Kimberly never disappoints The staff couldn't be more delightful From the valet to housekeeping and everyone in between The cleanliness is consistently fabulous Have stayed here many times over the years and will definitely will be returning on or next visit to New York One of our rooms this visit was not smoke free and that was a tad upsetting but that was the 1st time ever
We traveled with another family and did all the things! We absolutely loved our stay at The Kimberly Hotel. Everyone and every part of it was amazing, especially the doorman. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The rooftop was amazing for breakfast in the morning and cocktails at night. We also had an amazing dinner at the steakhouse. We will return!
Best service ever! Huge room and a great rooftop bar/ breakfast buffet. There was always someone at the door to greet us and help with directions or Uber service. The maid service was on point. The location was perfect for all of our New York experiences. We will definitely be back.
A wonderful experience! We will certainly book again! We are a family of 5, and the room was spacious and perfectly laid out for our needs. Microwave and refrigerator in the kitchen were so helpful with young kids. Both the king bed and the pull out couch were comfortable! The elevator is fast, the roof top bar/restaurant is absolutely lovely, and the staff is all so upbeat and happy! Harry the doorman taught my girls a secret handshake and let them go around in the the revolving doors as many times as they liked. The location is excellent for sightseeing. I will say, the hotel furniture and carpet is a little dated, but it added to the classic beauty of this hotel. Great experience, and we will return to the Kimberley again!
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times (either on my own reservation or that of a family member) and never once have I had anything less than a great experience. On this June visit, I would like to give a shout out to MD at the front desk. The room we booked didn't have a good layout for our needs on this particular stay so he offered us a change and made sure we had the best room for this trip. A big “thank you” to him for the great, no hassle customer service. Our new room was comfortable for us and the balcony with a view (we had a high floor) was nice. You can request balcony furniture if you'd like to spend much time sitting out there. The beds (including the generously sized pull out sofa beds) are comfy and the rooms have plenty of closet space. It's great to wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee, easily brewed in room and a NYT delivered to your door all while lounging in one of their comfy robes. The doormen are helpful, friendly and upbeat, and the housekeeping staff accommodated our request for extra towels and added bath products. This is not a new hotel and some of the furnishings could use a bit of a spiff up, but it's a well located, elegant lady of a hotel where staff wants your stay to be as comfortable as possible. Try Upstairs at the Kimberley for a light filled breakfast experience. Tip: we usually hit the bar at Empire Steakhouse on day 1 to sip a happy hour cocktail, make a toast to NY, and settle in for another great stay at The Kimberly.
Would love to thank and appreciate staff at the Kimberly Hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted by Mark who took our luggage and made sure our vehicle went to valet. Dusty at the front desk was wonderful in getting us checked in and properly settled in. Awesome kudos go to Johely who we met upstairs. My wife and I connected on her in a personal level that is unheard of in our industry. She made us feel at home and at peace. I don't have enough good words to describe how magnificent she is. We thank you Johely. Milan at Bistango was great.and felt like at home while having a great meal there. Arian in the morning is superb. Bus service was impeccable. I will never forget my stay at the Kimberly hotel. I can't wait to stay here again.
The Kimberly is still the nyc benchmark for Manhattan hotels to be measured by, the staff ( Ralph, Peter ) and all the others are top notch , these people know how to run a quality establishment. We have stayed more times than we can count and each time is better than the last. If you thinking about booking, do not hesitate, it elegant nyc decor and service are unmatched. You can spend more someplace else and it may even appear fancier, but you won't feel like family unless you stay at the Kimberly, it's the attention to detail and sincerity of the management and staff, the place is clean beyond any expectations, my wife and I are lucky enough to be able to stay at any hotel in the city, but it will always be the Kimberly for us, try it, you'll thank me. respectfully….sf
If you are looking for a well run, centrally located hotel with excellent service, spacious accommodations look no further. My friend and I shared a lovely suite the past few days here. Although not updated the rooms are very clean and well appointed. Lovey sheets and linen, great ac , perfect kitchenette with great coffee maker. The restaurant upstairs is fabulous and the staff throughout extremely accommodating. The Kimberly is a tremendous value and convenient to several bus and subway lines. We will surely return.
I reviewed many hotels before choosing The Kimberley. I wanted a luxurious break for me and my grown up family for my birthday. I asked for rooms near by, we got interconnecting rooms which was perfect. The location is ideal, just a short walk from Grand Central Station. We had buffet breakfast, which was delicious and well stocked. We visited the bar “Upstairs” rooftop bar, it had breathtaking views over the city. You can clearly see the Chrysler Building. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and the rooms were incredibly comfortable. There are also restaurants within the hotel which we visited too. Would happily return. Be warned it is very noisy at night, with traffic, which is expected in New York, there are earplugs in the room if you need them.
This was an amazing hotel experience for NYC. A 600 square foot suite that was beautifully furnished, with every amenity you could think of. And the housekeeping service was impeccable which we really appreciated since we had a kitchenette. All staff were extremely helpful. Nice safe neighborhood with three amazing restaurants on site. We were there for a medical appointment but The Kimberly helped to make it a positive experience. Will definitely return.
Quintessential New York hotel. Elegant and sophisticated. Yet comfortable and welcoming! The Kimberly will be our go to hotel! Room was super clean and large. Doorman always greeted us upon entry and leaving. We are looking forward to our next stay at the Kimberly!
I recently planned a trip to NYC for my husband's 65th birthday and stayed at the Kimberly. I spend a lot of time in the city and always stay on the east side. We stayed at The Kimberly about 8 years ago and had a lovely stay, although it was only one night. Because I generally go to the city to see my doctors, I usually just choose a cheaper hotel, one of the chain types. But this time I wanted to stay somewhere nice and make a really nice event out of it for the birthday weekend. I chose a king suite and surprised my husband with the suite (along with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries which I ordered online when I checked in and which was delivered moments after we got to our room. The suite was beautifully appointed, very clean and looked to be well maintained. No worn or tired furnishings. There were two closets with big plushy robes, slippers, umbrellas and a shoeshine machine, the likes of which I haven't seen in years. There is also a full height cabinet with a small bar with all the major liquors, wines and champagne, fridge with sodas and mixers, sparkling and still water, coffee maker, snacks, glassware and bar sink. We made full use of it! The bathroom was very large and well stocked with L'Occitane bath products and even a scale. The living area was very comfortable, especially the comfy couch where we would have after dinner cocktails and watch a movie under a cozy blanket. We did not eat in either of the two lobby level restaurants however we did take advantage of the rooftop bar called Upstairs which is enclosed with glass walls and roof and provides a view of the Chrysler building. They also serve small bites dinner menu and breakfast. We had the breakfast buffet and the offerings although pretty standard were delicious. It's really a beautiful space and during the summer the glass roof and walls retract. It's a lovely hotel and I'll now be staying there regularly. The best thing about the Kimberly is their staff who are all very friendly and take care of any request, big or small with such a pleasant and friendly attitude. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left, the staff was there to serve. We used the service elevator because it was right outside our room and there were usually housekeeping or maintenance staff using it. They were all so kind and pleasant and sincere and always struck up a conversation. From bringing us ice without us having requested it to bringing us water bottles while we waited in the lobby one afternoon, to the doormen who insisted on assisting us with our bags even though they were small and easily handled by us, every single member of their staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning time and time again. I actually can't wait for the next time.
We stayed at The Kimberly Feb 1-5, 2023. Extremely friendly, helpful staff. Great location. Rooms were spacious and clean, one-bedroom suite was perfect for my wife, son, and I, he loved sleeping on the fold-out couch, which was incredibly comfortable. Elevators were super-quick. Quiet, elegant atmosphere. Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!
Great stay! Rooms are huge, good location, and the best rooftop eatery and bar. Ralph recommended a great local dinner place and amazing sushi place close by. Walked to everything. Will stay here again.
Totally enjoyed our stay at Kimberly Hotel. Luxurious, clean, peaceful. The roof top restarant was absolutely my favorite to eat and drink. The wait service was impeccable at all levels. The views of NYC skyline was memorable. Intimate seating was comfortable and romantic. The front desk staff were all efficient and informative. I felt like having a world class feeling. The doormen were especially attentive. The luxurious bedding and toiletries were Perfect. The suites felt like European luxury . The experience was truly beyond first class. The only less than positive memory was being told the hotel Italian restaurant was closing at 9:00 pm. While we arrived at 8:15 we were told that the restarant would close promptly. We were encouraged, by the hostess, to request room service. Overall we had an amazing experience. We will return.
So I came and got the executive guest room suite with the balcony and hot tub for the night of my birthday I booked over a month before. First the room was set up really nice but the problem is the balcony wasn't exactly a balcony to actually be able to see the view of the city which was disappointing on the 22nd floor but the lower floors have actual balconies. The monsoon shower was not thoroughly cleaned at all and neither was the hot tub which was extremely disappointing with the pricing of the room I would expect it to be cleaned very well. I wouldn't recommend the suite I would downgrade honestly and for the hot tub the shower prices did not even work.
Great option in mid town NYC, loved everything about this hotel. Staff were incredibly nice and the room was big and clean. Highly recommend. Great location as well. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
This is a great hotel where every detail of service is available and the dedicated staff take care of everything. The rooms are large and well appointed w modern luxury and classic design. It's a very quiet hotel with comfortable beds and full kitchens as desired. The location is perfect away from Times Square yet only a mile from the furthest theater. We loved our 5 night stay
My stay at The Kimberly Hotel was wonderful.. very comfortable and clean room, linens and bed/pillows very comfortable, and having 3 choices for food within the hotel complex, made it very convenient.. I will stay here again when I'm NY..
Earned a free night for staying 2 nights at a BW hotel out west. Never thought we'd be able to use it in Manhattan on a weekend, but we could, at the Kimberly, which I didn't even know was affiliated with BW initially. We were not expecting much since BW chain is very average but predominant out west. The Kimberly blew us away!!! We arrived 3 hours early but our room was ready. It was a suite with a BALCONY (who has a balcony at a hotel in NYC?!?!). Old World elegance throughout. It was exceptionally clean, traditional furniture, completely separate living room, huge bathroom with a HEATED FLOOR and rainfall shower (per my husband, the best he's ever seen)! Beautiful rooftop bar surrounded by the lights of Manhattan. Two restaurants (though we ate elsewhere). Staff was exceptionally helpful and pleasant, from the doorman to reception to a lovely woman who saw us peeking in the Italian restaurant and walked us around to show us where things were in lobby. Great location, surrounded by restaurants, and walking distance to Time Square, Rock Ctr., and Broadway. This place made our weekend away an exceptional experience. Thank you, Kimberly Hotel!!
Outstanding customer service from all, especially Ava. The room was lovely and spacious. Check-in was easy and accommodating. Rooftop bar was good too. This will now be our go-to NYC hotel. Again, the service was excellent.
The room was tastefully decorated and extremely clean! It has the charm and elegance of the "old time" hotels with all the modern conveniences. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay great. Would highly recommend this wonderful welcoming hotel!
My daughter and I took her 2 girls for a long weekend in NYC and had a great time! Room was a one bedroom suite 2 double beds with a pull out couch in the living area. The Kimberly from Nick the door man to chatting with an employee of the upstairs bar and having him bring us two glasses of champagne to our room when we told him we couldn't go up because of the girls The entire weekend was amazing. !! Already planning our next trip!!
We visit NYC often, and each time we stay somewhere different (different hotels, different areas). The Kimberly will definitely be a hotel we return to often. Everything about this hotel is great. Its location, the staff, the hotel itself, and the rooms. The staff are kind, respectful, and extremely helpful. The hotel is exquisite, both the lobby and the rooms themselves. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, and it was one of the nicer rooms in NY, especially the size (we even had a balcony). Comfortable bed, large kitchenette, what's not to love?
We stayed here for 5 nights. Compared with other hotels in Manhattan within the same star category, this hotel was a lot cleaner, the rooms were a lot bigger (with kitchenette and even a dishwasher) and a bath room with a lot of space. Coffee, water and towels were provided daily and room/cleaning service was punctual and accurate. Gym was clean and sufficient for a workout. Thank you, we will come again!
i love this hotel. The Staff is incredible. Arian the head waiter for the breakfast buffet on the roof is so attentive and makes sure the coffee is just right. Harry the head doorman is a legend and always there to be helpful and remember your name. Mentor is one of the front of house staff members who goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay from transportation to greeting my family. The best staff and accomodations in NYC!! Thank you all... Rudi from Boston. Loyal Customer always!!!!!
The Kimberly is a wonderful hotel, perfectly situated to everything. The staff is friendly, the rooms are gorgeous with a comfort and elegance not usually found. Lots of closets and drawer space. Restaurants and room service make the Kimberly a great place to stay!
First time staying at The Kimberly and we loved it!! The staff were wonderful and helpful. Every single staff went above and beyond. The suite was spacious. Amenities in the room were a nice extra. Carpets a little dated but that is the only negative. The location was perfect. Will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful weekend.
The Kimberly Hotel is the best spot for families in NYC. From the minute you step out of the car, every member is so helpful, kind, and attentive. We stay here every time we are in NYC because of the location, the LARGE rooms, and the impeccable service. We traveled with our 3 kids and my mom, and had needs like milk, etc. late at night. Room service was always so helpful, and fast! The suite rooms are unmatched in Manhattan for size and value. Service is clearly top priority at The Kimberly, and we will always stay there while in NYC.
Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect, away from the crowds but a quick walk to shopping streets, and many of the main attractions. The subway is a two minute walk away. The room we had was spacious with a very comfortable bed and great storage. The thing however that sets the Kimberly above other New York hotels I've stayed in is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful and customer service is amazing. They set a tone for the hotel that is relaxing and welcoming. I will always stay here when I visit New York now that I have found it.
Great location. Walking distance to the Rockefeller center, 5th street and many NY attractions and restaurants. Their bathrooms are huge considering we are in NY and I love that we have a mini suite with doors closing to the bedroom so my snoring husband can sleep in the other room if needed :). Perfect space for party of 3 (my teen daughter and husband ). Also be sure and try out their breakfast at the pent house. Highly recommended.
I have to give The Kimberly a 5! Friendly, attentive service, welcoming atmosphere, delicious food Awesone location! We have been coming to this hotel for almost eight years.. it's like a home away from home! We walked to rockerfeller center and enjoyed dinner at empire steak house, right next door!
The room was beautiful and simply amazing. Plenty of space, shelves, drawers for 2 people! The rain shower head...loved it!! Everyone from the bellman to concier abd front desk were so pleasant and i felt it was truly genuine. My daughter and i will never forget our experience here Christmas 2022!!! Oh and the restaurants were top tier! We most definitely will stay here again on 23rd floor. The view was also amazing!
It's been a bucket list for me to spend Xmas in NYC and this hotel did not disappoint ! I selected based on reviews and location buy my namesake sealed the deal. Service is impeccable and I love the old style NY furnishing and decor. The Empire Steak restaurant is off the lobby and was a wonderful Xmas Eve dinner. St Patrick's Cathedral is just 3 blocks away! Highly recommend and will definitely come back !
We have been staying at the Kimberly during the Christmas holidays for over 15 years. We have never been disappointed in any aspect. They have made many upgrades over the years in order to improve the hotel. Everything about the hotel is excellent, especially the staff. We always get a one-bedroom suite which is spacious and comfortable. I highly recommend The Kimberly.
My mom, my daughter (8yr old) and I stayed at the Kimberly during our 5 day visit to NYC. The staff was great and the room was beautiful and very spacious -a rarity in NYC! Only complaint was that our housekeeping was inconsistent. Two times we came back to the room in the evening and we had not had housekeeping yet and two times we had housekeeping, they did not replenish the toilet paper and the sugar, creamer, and tea. When we called, the staff was quick to remedy the situation. Would definitely recommend the Kimberly as the location was safe and convenient and the accommodations were top notch!
This is a boutique hotel whose staff goes the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable. The kitchenette is well stocked with coffee, tea, and snacks. The bathrooms, though small, are elegant and include fine toiletries. The location is in walking distance from the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, Radio City Music Hall and the historic Saint Patrick's Cathedral. We felt safe walking around at night. I would suggest the management add rubber mats to the floor of the bathtubs. The water is soft, so the bathtub floor becomes slippery and even more so when applying shower gel. Also the sofa beds have seen better days—time for replacements, IMO.
Had a fantastic family girls' holiday weekend in NYC. My first time staying at the Kimberly but the rest of our group comes every year. Felt incredibly welcomed after a difficult trip from Penn Station. Beautiful room with amazing space and helpful staff. Despite the cold and rain our stay was delightful. Would highly recommend the Kimberly for folks who want a central location that is still restful with amazing amenities (great restaurants, lively bar, gorgeous rooms).
We stayed three nights in a wonderful suit with nice views and a great bed. The staff were really nice and professional. A slow drain was fixed before we knew it. They recognized our anniversary with a gift and greetings. A great find.
AMAZING location. AMAZING suites. AMAZING & CARING staff. The list goes on.. it doesn't get better than this folks. We were traveling with young children, and it was so nice that they had their own space all week and we also had our privacy! The jetted tubs were so fun. As silly as it sounds the water pressure in the shower is probably my favorite accessory of the hotel! The beds are very comfortable. Even the sofa bed was super comfortable. The kids wanted to "take it back home" with them. On the day of my birthday, they surprised me with complimentary champagne and fruit. All in all, 10/10 experience. Thank you for making our trip great!
positives: - Sadie at the front desk, who was very accommodating of our family in every way that she could. We are extremely appreciative and hope that her management sees this review and appreciates her as well! - wonderful location for what our family was choosing to do. easy walking distance to Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Bryant Park, Central Park,... a little more challenged walk to the American Museum of Natural History but we still managed it. - on-site restaurants or easy access to off-site locations to grab a meal - our 2-bedroom suite was very comfortable and spacious - the doormen were extremely helpful and polite. areas for improvement: - of 3 TVs in the suite, only 1 worked properly; an attempt by Engineering to fix the other 2 was unsuccessful - certain dining staff. We ate at Bistango 1 night and our server was not attentive at all. Thankfully, his peer servers covered for him and took care of us in his extended absence and forgetfulness of certain requests. All-in-all, we had a wonderful all-around experience at the property and would highly recommend.
After missing out on NYC for many, many months due to Covid-19, we finally made it back for this year's Christmas season. Would we stay elsewhere, I think not. Such a great hotel with a professional and attentive staff. Great restaurants and Upstairs at the Kimberly being the best of them all. A great location with easy mobile or leg-powered access to the best parts of Manhattan.
The Kimberly Hotel exceeded our expectations! We stayed for one week while celebrating my birthday. Happy to say we were so pleased with every aspect of the hotel. Check in was a breeze, the bellmen were always pleasant and attentive, the room was very clean and the beds were amazingly comfortable! Housekeeping did an amazing job everyday plus the location was great! We stayed in a one bedroom suite that had a balcony. We will definitely stay at The Kimberly Hotel on our next visit.
What a great hotel. Spacious and superbly decorated rooms. It seems to be in one of those beautiful Christmas movies. Comfortable beds. All the personnel was lovely and welcoming. Location is also perfect for all midtown attractions and also close to subway stations.
our one night stay was perfect. our room was spotless, comfortable, quiet and beautifully finished. we so appreciate that you are affiliated with Sloan. this made an awful situation more pleasant. Thank you.
I love The Kimberly. I've stayed here many times. Location is pretty good in Midtown. Rooms are well set up especially if you have more than two in your party. The sofa bed gives everyone plenty of space and an extra tv. Lastly the service is always excellent
The Kimberly was the perfect boutique hotel for our family visit to NYC. The doormen were super friendly, there was a large decorated tree in the lobby and the hotel felt lively and festive. We had a one bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms for our family of 4. The kids slept on the pullout and we had a very comfortable king bed. And robes and slippers. And l'occitane toiletries. Two restaurants on the main floor. Centrally located and east to walk to main sites from there. We would often cut through Grand Central Terminal on way back from Theatre District. Definitely recommend.
We LOVED everything about this hotel from the exuberant doorman Ralph, to the very pleasant and helpful front desk crew! The suite was fantastic! Spacious living area, kitchenette, great shower and bathroom with another sink outside the bathroom which was great to have! The bed was very comfortable, and the room dark and quiet, (as quiet as you can get in NYC! ;) we did not have the occasion to dine in any of the restaurants or go to the bar area. The location is also fantastic, very accessible to shopping and loads of restaurants. We felt it was also a great value given this time of year.
Really spacious rooms in a great location. The lobby area is lovely, staff very friendly, and hotel is really worthy of the excellent reviews it's been getting. We stayed in a room with two double beds, and it was so spacious. The beds themselves are so comfortable. Decor is a little dated, but your not really going to New York to stay in your hotel Will definitely be staying again.
Lovely boutique hotel. Prompt, attentive service. Beautiful rooftop dining, though breakfast wait staff needed better training. (And there's a great diner next door). A favorite. Must type more b/c reviews must be at least 200 characters.
My husband and I stayed here for a quick overnight-vacation in the city. The hotel is beautiful and everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. You can tell when a business treats its employees well - they treat their customers well. I am allergic to feathers and they made sure to remove all down items from the room. The bed was very comfortable. We were o the 12th floor and it was so quiet. We slept well. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Thick towels, robes, slippers. Very clean. Would definitely stay here again.
It's a beautiful hotel!! Close to everything. We walked everywhere. Shopping, Empire State Building, Central Park and Rockefeller Center. The room was gorgeous. We ate at The Benjamin Steak house and watched the World Series at the Empire Steak house; a bar/restaurant connected directly to the hotel.
We needed a bigger room with two beds, which is not easy to find in the NYC Budget tier hotels near Times Square. This fit our needs pretty well. We arrived by cab from La Guardia, and departed by cab as well. The closets (2!) and bathroom were larger than I have seen in many hotel rooms. The appointments were what my parents would call "classy". It was in the part of town we needed to be. Our room was in the 151 building, not the main building at 145. That has a separate elevator and is the building that currently has the Empire Steak house. If you have never been to Manhattan, you have to know there is no "quiet" area. There are vehicles and sirens at all hours. The higher up you are, the less the street noise is. One thing that just does not fit in the streetscape is the temporary pavilion for street dining. That just looks trashy. Somebody maybe thought that has merit during the pandemic. It is time for those to go. The city of New York will add more than 14% tax to your bill as well as flat fees in separate categories.
The accommodations and location was great. The staff and people throughout the hotel are excellent. We enjoyed all our experiences while we were there. It has excellent rating from us overall. We will be back again. In the future we plan to stay here.
I almost hate to say what a terrific place the Kimberly is as I'd like it be a well kept secret but I've stayed several times and it never disappoints. The nicest staff - from front desk to housekeeping to restaurant. Always a pleasure.
We stayed at The Kimberley on 3 different occasions during October. Each time our stay was excellent. Rooms are large, spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds. Service is always excellent, obliging staff. And the rooftop bar and eatery is a bonus with wonderful views. We will always return to The Kimberley on our return to NYC.
I cannot imagine a better location in NYC. Fast check in and okay service in reception. Great service in breakfast area. Excellent cleaning service. The rooms are charming and oldfashioned. The hotel has an English colonial feel to it. The breakfast was excellent and very American. The bed is the best I have ever slept in! The cherry on top, however, is the roof top bar «The Upstairs» which is maybe my new favorite place on planet Earth.
The Kimberly is a in a good location. It is an older hotel, so you do get a nice large room. Big for NYC standards. But being an older hotel you do get the problems. The A/C in our room never cooled the room. The toilet constantly ran and the furniture was breaking. When we mentioned these items to the front desk, the response was always just "sorry". Plenty of hotels in the city, the Kimberly needs to step up their game to stay viable.
The service and quality of this hotel is top notch! It is in the perfect location and everything from the doorman to the rooms are what make this hotel truly a gem in the city. The size of the rooms are amazing for a NYC hotel. They have a great rooftop bar as well for a late night drink. I will continue to stay here everytime I am in NYC!
Pre-Covid, the Kimberly was my go-to hotel for all my New York business trips. It's great to be back! The old world charm, with all the modern amenities one requires and terrific service is so consistent in this beautiful, centrally located, boutique hotel. I was looking forward to being back and all my expectations were exceeded!! Thank you, Kimberly staff!
We are family of 4 visiting from the Uk and were lucky to find / stay at the Kimberley. Lovely big rooms, two double beds and large sofa bed in a large room. Kitchenette (fridge, toaster, microwave, coffee machine) was also really helpful and meant we had a relaxed breakfast in the room ahead of each busy day seeing the amazing city! Well done team Kimberley.
We had two rooms for my son and grand daughter and for my wife and myself. rooms are very large, very unusual for a hotel at the center of Manhattan. The decor is a but old-fashioned but the service is super modern and professional. we stayed on the 23rd floor for 6 days in the second week of October and enjoyed also excellent weather. Breakfast on the top floor is a feast, with beautiful views and a lovely and very helpful staff !! The central location - close to subway stations lines 6 E and M , and the ease of moving around and the sympathy of the close by avenues Lexington and Madison and 5th is also a great advantage We shall return to Keimberly whenever visiting New York !!
We stayed at Kimberly Hotel for my 40th Birthday recently. What they don't make you aware of prior to booking, is that there is a $150 daily incidental charge for the room, refundable after your stay. This meant my partner had to use all his spending money ($750) to pay for this upfront on top of the hotel cost. Luckily, he was able to do a bank transfer from his credit card the next day otherwise the pair of us would have been absolutely snookered. Whilst this was going on and my partner was disputing it at the front desk, I caught one of the concierge guys smirking about it, as though we were broke and this wasn't a done thing at Kimberly. However, that was the only set-back hence why I've given it 4 stars as the hotel and room itself, including the rooftop bar was just lovely. All staff and house-keeping were polite, concierge opening doors for you and smiling upon entry and leaving. The bed itself was insanely comfy, probably the most comfiest bed I have ever slept in. The room was bigger than expected, with a fab balcony overlooking NYC. Noise to be expected coming from outside, you are in New York City after all. Nothing a wicked pair of Mack's silicone ear plugs can't sort. (Available on Amazon-great for snoring partners too!!). On my actual Birthday, they brought up a complimentary bottle of Prosecco in ice with a plate of grapes, dates, cheese and crackers which was really sweet. My partner also arranged breakfast, which they forgot about and had to be reminded through a phone call. Overall, a lovely stay in a classy, clean hotel right in the heart of Manhattan.
The Kimberly was truly a wonderful experience. The bed was like sleeping in a cloud, the bathroom really well appointed and huge, the living room of the suite was beautiful and perfect to hold a meeting in. The restaurant and bar in the premise was perfect and the staff super professional and attentive! Great experience overall
This is THE place to stay in NYC, whether it is for fun or business. My gfs and I wanted to celebrate a bachelorette weekend in NYC. We stumbled upon The Kimberly when we were researching best rooftop brunch in NYC. It went from just brunch to the focus of our weekend! First off, The Kimberly is centrally located in NYC on 50th Street, easily accessible to anywhere you may want to go in NYC. There is a lobby cafe, the Rooftop (more on that later), Bistango (an Italian restaurant), Burger House & Bar, and the Empire Steakhouse. There are ample places to eat on-site so if you don't want to leave the hotel, you don't have to. We stayed in a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite. All of the rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. From there, after a brief respite, we made our way to the Rooftop. The Rooftop offers expansive views of NYC with a glass-encased rooftop which is partly retractable during warmer months. There is nothing better than starting out your weekend in NYC enjoying the sunset with cocktails and snacks. The food is excellent-we had sliders, truffle fries and mac and cheese. The menu is expansive. The breakfast buffet is excellent. We ordered meat and cheese plates for the room-all beautifully presented and excellent. Service was top-notch and exceeded our expectations. When you enter the hotel, you are greeted by uniformed doormen, all courtly, courteous and professional. Front desk service is excellent and very responsive. Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to make our weekend great. I can't say enough about how wonderful this hotel is. I'm sure it is THE place to be, not just for business but for any and every celebratory occasion. New Year's Eve-here I come!
The Kimberly Hotel never disappoints! The staff is professional and friendly and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The roof top is the perfect place to have drinks or breakfast…or both! We have stayed at The Kimberly several times and we will definitely be staying on a return trip to NYC!
Excellent boutique style hotel with large suite sized room and very good front desk service. I would recommend to other travelers seeking larger room and smaller property. Very Good central location.
Overall, a pleasant experience that lived up to the promise. I chose it over the other numerous luxury hotels on these couple of blocks along Lexington primarily because the rates were similar, but did not require a non-refundable reservation. So a plus right off the bat. What was good: 1. The doormen, especially Ralph, were just the best. Very attentive and very friendly, they also anticipate your every need. In fact, the one bad experience I had regarding lost laundry was resolved by the door staff 2. The room was spacious and clean, and the little kitchenette is a bonus for those staying more than a night or two. One strange thing was that there were no stirring sticks or spoons or anything to stir the complementary coffee with, even there were pots and pans and glasses and full condiments for the the coffee 3. Relatively spacious bathroom, plus the l'Occitane shampoo, soap etc. But for some reason housekeeping only decided I needed one replacement for the shower gel, which is only good for one shower's worth of washing, even though I stayed 4 nights. Soap and shampoo were sufficient 4. Big pillow top bed. Also kudos for noting my pre-arrival request for something thinner and cooler than a big fluffy down comforter, which for all its luxury is simply too hot for me 5. The room was in kind of a corner (but windows on one side only) next to the emergency stairs and separated from other rooms by the elevators, and the closest room was across the hall. It was apparently a complementary upgrade and resulted in privacy and quiet nights for sleeping 6. The rooftop bar was a very cool place for some cocktails, and the bartender knew what he was doing Not so good: 1. Staff other than doormen were largely indifferent. One specific instance: I sent out laundry the morning of my last night, and when I returned late that night it had not been returned. I called housekeeping but since it was around midnight the front desk answered and said they will look it into in the morning and have it back to me by 10 am, but it was not very reassuring. Next morning at 10, there was no sign of it being returned, and since I needed to check out in a couple hours I was getting concerned so I called housekeeping again, who again said they will "check" in a rather indifferent manner. But Ralph the doorman came through and was up with the laundry within 5 minutes of calling 2. The "view" was of the apartment building next door, but I realize this is Manhattan so one cannot be too choosy unless paying a hefty upgrade
My mom & I stayed at The Kimberly for a week and we were so impressed with the entire experience. The location is fantastic, close to subway stations, many restaurants and shopping. We booked a one-bedroom suite and it was fabulous. So spacious and perfect with the kitchenette. The beds, including the sofa bed, were so comfortable! Best sleep I've ever had in a hotel. Our room had a balcony as well and we loved taking in the view of all the beautiful buildings in the area. Special shout-out to Gregory (and Happy Retirement, Gregory!), Jose and Ralph who all went above and beyond, during our entire stay, to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. If I am fortunate enough to return to NYC one day, I won't look to stay anywhere else but here. Thank you for making our week in Manhattan so very memorable and special!
It was amazing experience and amazing times to stay In the Kimberly Hotel. Professional and kind clerks and staff. And special plus the to Empire steakhouse!!! Looking forward to stay in the future again and yes I would recommend to my friends.
I wrote a review for the Kimberly in 2017 and continue to stay here. I book the Luxury Suite with 2 double beds. There is a huge living room, a bedroom, full bath and kitchenette. The doormen are all so friendly and will hail a taxi for you whenever you want. (and pretty quickly) The front desk is extremely welcoming too. The restaurants, Bistango and Upstairs are both great and reasonably priced for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I will continue to stay only in this hotel for our mother/daughter yearly trip to NYC! You get what you pay for, but at the Kimberly, it seems you get more than you pay for. Thank you for yet another wonderful experience.
The staff go above and beyond to make sure it's an incredible stay. Lola in reservations make sure this was the perfect 55th birthday celebration and decorated the room beautifully. The staff from check in to the lovely bellman at check out are all so friendly and lovely. The rooftop bar is beautiful. The hotels are so large-the largest I have been in NYC. Highly recommend this hotel-clean and beautiful.
Beautiful, nicely appointed, spacious rooms with a magnificent staff ready to assist with a smile. Great location near many attractions and businesses. Terrific roof top dining and club with delicious food options.Very fairly priced for what you receive. My choice for years; no reason to look elsewhere when I can find everything here.
What a beautiful place to relax and unwind. Very spacious clean and the staff is very helpful. The location is perfect. We loved staying here and know we'll be back next year. Centrally located near cross town buses for the theater district, restaurants and NY sights.
Clean, quiet and well-appointed room with plenty of space. Very comfortable beds. Balcony but no view from our room. Pleasant check in and friendly staff throughout. Lovely lobby. We'll stay here again.
Booked two rooms, both one-bedroom suites so a family member could join me and my wife. Had a great stay. Rooms are more like small apartments with a separate bedroom and living room. You don't find that in NYC hotels very often. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the doorman, Harry. He hailed taxis and got us in and out with our packages and luggage and always with a smile. Rooftop bar was spectacular! Room decor was comfortable and interesting, certainly not typical hotel furnishings. In the heart of Midtown East. Easy walk to restaurants; two blocks from Madison, Park and Fifth Avenues; 20 minute walk to Times Square. Rates were reasonable considering all the bang for your buck. Definitely would be my first choice next time.
Great for family of four. I read every review across midtown looking for a bit more space for 4 than the typical nyc hotel that wasn't ridiculously priced. This hotel Met the bill. We stayed in the 1 bedroom, and it worked great. I get up early and could sit in the living room while everyone else slept. It even had a balcony that the kids loved. We faced the ally and it was awesome - obviously not the view but the fact it was perfectly QUIET. Really cute restaurant on the roof for breakfast. Reasonable and great view. Staff were super nice. Great experience all around.
We went to this hotel for a long awaited family hol We pushed the boat out a bit and wanted a hotel that was a great central location and this is definitely that It is an old Worldy vibe to it with the gold accents and marbled effects In the foyer , the door staff and all concierge were lovely x The room we had was very nice Although the balcony was not facing anything but some old office buildings The air con in the main bedroom broke twice and when fixed it wasn't working well and was very noisy ! My husband felt the room was tired and could do with a bit of make over also we did see that housekeeping hadn't either not been on the lats but one day or hadn't looked to stock up Toilet paper ?! We had food in the Italian one night which was nice but not amazing but nice and easy after long day Nice service from the staff we encountered Great location but would deffo look for deals etc to take price down a bit Over all I would say it is great for location a lot of the staff were nice
Fantastic hotel. Good location. We had an easy walk to Times Square and Hells Kitchen. On check-in we were immediately upgraded to one BR suite. Really nice room and bathroom. Living area very comfortable. There is a balcony! With a great view! Service was top shelf. We had a cheese plate and champagne as soon as we were in the room. Rooftop bar was great with terrific view down 50th street. There are 2 other dining options also - Bistango and Empire Steak House. Fantastic food! Will stay here in the future.
The hotel room was spacious and one of the quietest stays I've had in NYC!! I can't stress enough how wonderful it is to drown out the city at night and we were only on the 4th floor!!! Definitely stay here again! Centrally located as well. There is a metro line a few blocks away. We also went to the Penthouse bar and although the food was good, it was extraordinarily loud in there on a Saturday night.
Room was impecable and confortable. Great service and staff. We will definitely como back. We had a very nice two bedroom apartment. Perfect location. The Italian and de Empire Steak House offer good food.
This boutique hotel is in a perfect location and the staff and customer service was fabulous always friendly and helpful. My only disappointment was the view from my room balcony as it was of an old empty building behind the hotel and I was on the 20th floor. The last time I was here in 2017 I had a fabulous view from my balcony but can't remember floor or room. Other than that I highly recommend this boutique hotel. The Empire Steakhouse is joint to the hotel and has exceptional food and servers, opposite is an Indian and Chinese restaurant called Spice Symphony and has absolutely delicious food and next door is The Luncheonette restaurant for affordable breakfast lunch and dinner meals.
This is definitely my go to hotel in New York. It was my third time at the Kimberly, and every stay there has been fantastic!! The rooms are oversized and very comfortable. The rooftop breakfast was delicious, as was the Italian food at Bistango. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Gregory meets you at the front door with a big smile, Rudy makes great omelets, and Nina was very helpful sending me the AirPods my grandson left in the room. I can't wait to stay at the Kimberly again when I visit New York!!
This hotel was perfect for myself and 2 girlfriends to enjoy our weekend away in NYC. We had the Luxury One-Bedroom with 2 Double Beds. This gave us each our own bed to sleep in as there is a pull out couch in the living room. The kitchenette was great for breakfast and snacks. The rooftop lounge is the best place to be on a Saturday night in Manhattan. No line up, DJ and beautiful views. Hotel location is in the middle-ish of Manhattan so getting most places isn't too far. My friends both said they'd stay here again when they return, and this is my second stay. Staff are lovely.
Wow. The Kimberly hotel did not disappoint. My suite was beautiful and immaculate. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful. I enjoyed the amazing rooftop for breakfast and also for night time drinking. Central Park and Time Square were in walking distance. This will be my new go to hotel for when I come back to NYC.
All in all, this was a great find! The rooms were really big for NYC rooms, the service was great (really friendly staff), location was ideal. Would highly recommend to anyone going to Manhattan for a few days whether it be with family or as a couple
This was our 1st trip to New York and we stayed 5 nights at the Kimberly and could not have been happier! Our room was big, bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed and more! Fridge, microwave for our leftovers, iron, hair dryer, etc... Everything was clean and spruced up daily. The staff was very accommodating with anything we needed, which wasn't much. For the most part we walked everywhere we wanted to go and never felt like we wished we were in a different part of the city. Lots and lots to do around the hotel as well as NYC in general. We will definitely stay here again when we come back!
I had another great stay at the Kimberly Hotel. Upstairs at the Kimberly is simply magnificent. The staff at the Kimberly have treated me very nicely and with such kindness. I strongly recommend someone staying at the Kimberly Hotel.⁵
Many rooms are suites, which are perfect for families or even if you're staying with a friend or partner who keeps different hours than you do. And the fridge/microwave is perfect for leftovers-cold drinks. Breakfast on the roof is a treat, and they keep the rooftop lounge open all day with coffee and pastries (It's a bar with food at night with amazing views. Great location walking distance from Grand Central, theater district, etc, And Ess-A-Bagel around the corner on 3rd. Incredibly comfortable beds. But the staff really makes the hotel. They treat you like family. Actually, much better than most of our families treat us!
We just stayed at the Kimberly for the first time since having our son and it was perfect! We have stayed here over the years and always enjoyed our time but this was the first time we had a small child. They made everything really easy! They set up a crib for us which was ready when we arrived. They always made sure it was easy getting in and out of the hotel and cars with our stroller. The rooms are great for kids with a kitchen area to wash their bottles and store food. It really is the best location too which makes walking NYC so easy. We love it!
Very welcoming environment. Amazing staff who really go the extra mile to make your stay wonderful! Great service! Shout-Out for extra ordinary Service Harry & MD. Location was perfect! Quiet enough to be out of traffic noise but 15-20 mins walk to Broadway, Bloomingdale's. 10 mins Grand Central Station, subway close by and perfect to get to anywhere.
A truly fantastic hotel. The staff make it so. Simply the best staff I have ever encountered. Have stayed here for 17 years. Charity event annually. Hotel is spotless. Rooms are awesome. Breakfast to die for. Nothing is too much trouble ot really is a home from home
We stayed at the Kimberly for nine nights in July. We took two suites, as we were grandparents traveling with two teens. The suites are old world elegant, but with every modern convenience, including a dishwasher and electrical outlets that are accessible. The staff is polite and helpful. From opening the heavy front door to hailing a cab, we cannot think if one complaint in the nine nights we were there .....and we are pretty demanding. Our granddaughters also said that the staff were incredibly friendly. This is a great choice of hotels...the suites are huge by any standard, the service impeccable and the location could nit be better.
The Kimberly is a more traditional style hotel. The location was perfect for our needs. The price was affordable. The decor is dated but tasteful. Housekeeping is still provided daily if you desire. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom was small in comparison to the bedroom and living room but this was not an issue for us. The balcony is a nice surprise it there were no seats and the view leaves a lot to be desired. Again, not an issue for us. We enjoyed having the space. We did not encounter a lot of noise. There were the occasional sounds from the street but not enough to bother us. The doormen were friendly and attentive. The front desk is hit or miss depending upon who was working. Some were kind and others brisk and unwelcoming. The bar/lounge was nice but closed so early that we only visited once. The prices were excessive even for New York. We did not visit the restaurant.
The staff goes out of their way to make you feel very special!! Gregory Kirkland welcomes you at the front door with a big smile, and Kirt Barrington and Serina Cekovic at the front desk are very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are oversized with a huge bathroom. We loved having our breakfast at the rooftop restaurant. This hotel is perfect in every way!!
We needed a hotel for a 5 night visit to NYC as a family of 3 including a teenage boy. One of my criteria for a hotel when we go away for more than two nights is a hotel room with a living room area so we can stretch our after a day of exploring whatever city we are in. The Kimberly Hotel fit the bill with a living room and a balcony on the East side of Manhattan, a few minutes away from Grand Central. We are NYers but having moved away to another state a few years ago, we were eager to get back to our city but a little nervous about the size of the room we would be getting for the price and the noise level. We have stayed in other hotels for short stays in the city before and usually they are tiny. We were exceedingly happy to find that our room was very spacious with a separate living room and bedroom, with a little kitchenette, microwave and fridge included. Check in was easy and the Manager on duty the night we checked in was very friendly. The room, as we said, was a pleasant surprise. The beds were comfortable and there were more than enough closets with robes, slippers and umbrellas for use during our stay if needed. The only "complaint" that we had was that the AC is very loud so if you're a light sleeper, this would have bothered you. We are not so the AC was just background noise. We did not hear any other hotel guests in other rooms during our stay. The balcony unfortunately overlooked an alley and directly into a hotel next door so not very fun but that was okay. If you get a higher floor, the balcony may prove more enjoyable. We were on a floor below 10th so not very exciting. This is a traditional style hotel so if modern decor is what you prefer, you may find the rooms a little too old-fashioned and dated for your taste. The hotel is conveniently located near Grand Central Station and it's Manhattan so there are many dining and public transportation options available within a stone's throw away. It took us about 45 minutes to get to and from LaGuardia during rush hour via ride share service. One minor quibble was our request for some additional paper coffee cups and napkins to be re-stocked in our room on the fourth day or our stay. That request went ignored. We would definitely love to stay here again on a return visit.
This place is AMAZING! Upstairs dinning was also amazing. Close to everything! The room was amazing. The staff was also amazing very helpful the whole stay. Not to mention check out is at 12pm most hotels I've stayed at were 11am. Stay here the price is worth it!!!
From Harry at the front door to all of the hotel staff, we had a fabulous stay and would definitely stay at the Kimberly Hotel again. We were extremely grateful for our late check-out as we had several moving pieces with family member traveling in different directions at check-out.
This hotel treats you like family…they make sure you're happy with everything! Much different from your basic hotel! I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Location is very good too. Close to everything but away from the craziness.
The good: - The staff were super friendly and helpful. The bell staff was seriously the friendliest I've met in years and had good suggestions for every question. Really a great team! If I was asked to list what I want in front lobby staff, I would just send a photo of these people. - The room was large and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed - fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker - and a dishwasher! Our kid said the shower was the best she ever had. We had three giant closets, and the beds were comfortable. The room temp was fully controlled by in-room thermostats. - The room was cleaned each day. None of this silly pandemic stuff eliminating room cleaning until you check out. - The location is very good. You may prefer to be closer to Times Square, but there are plenty of good restaurants in walking distance and the street out front is easy for pickups. The bad: - We showed up 1/2 hour before check-in time and our room wasn't ready, so we walked around the area and came back one hour AFTER check-in time and our room still wasn't ready. It was finally ready 70 minutes after check-in time. Not a huge inconvenience, but we were already tired from traveling and needed to get into our room. - We were charged $13 for minibar items we definitely didn't use. I think we were charged because of bottles/food wrappers in the trash for items we brought in ourselves. I notified the front desk clerk, but he just shrugged. I wasn't going to argue over $13, but I don't like paying for something I didn't use. - I left an expensive phone charger in the room when we checked out. Only 3 hours later I came back and they said the room was already cleaned and no charger was found. They accompanied me to the room to let me look, but it was gone. I definitely left it in the room. Ok - this one is 50% my fault for leaving it when we checked out, but still I would hope a high-quality hotel would make sure personal items like this are returned. We had a great visit to NYC, and the hotel was very good. With a little different luck, this hotel may have been a 5 out of 5.
This hotel lived up to its website description and Trip Advisor's reviews. My two adult sons and I stayed 8 nights in a spacious suite with 1brm ( 2 dbl s) and a large, comfortable sofa bed in the lounge. Very large rooms, perfectly equipped kitchenette, spotless bathroom, luxurious beds. Dark and quiet at night, even at the road frontage side of building. Staff is excellent - courteous under pressure, obliging, with the fastest response from housekeeping I have ever experienced. Spotlessly clean. Our air conditioning in the bedroom broke/flooded on the first night. We were moved to another, equally spacious room for a night while a new aircon unit was installed. Well handled with minimum fuss and fast repair. Staff managed my agitation with equanimity. Even the aquarium in a side room of the lobby is a wonder to behold! This is my favourite property for family accommodation in all my 5 trips to NYC.
Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Great location. Definitely would stay here again. Quieter location for sleeping. Perfect for walking and getting to all the attractions. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom could be bigger. But I loved the balcony
The Kimberly Hotel In NYC has been my home away from home for over 20 years. This property is the closest thing to being home. You are always treated as family by an incredible staff who have been here for decades. The location could not be more perfect. My recommendation is to make the Kimberly your home too.
Our usual hotel wanted to charge an arm and a leg for the night this summer so we looked for a luxury hotel that was more reasonably priced. We found it! The female concierge was super helpful in planning our trip—I spoke to her multiple times. We really appreciated that! Shelton was so welcoming when we arrived and made us feel so special. His warmth, charisma and fabulous personality made us feel at home immediately. The rooms were very clean and we especially appreciated the bath amenities that were all high quality! I wished the shower were a walk-in and not a tub. It was hard to stand in, actually. Also the shower was difficult for all of us to work. That was the only negative. We can't wait to come back and thank you for welcoming us!
My second visit to this great hotel, this time visiting with family we shared a double double room with suite. The beds are amazing, so comfortable. Staff at reception are kind and courteous, room service was excellent. The area is great, not far to walk to all the city highlights, some nice places to eat around 2nd avenue away from the hustle and bustle. The rooftop area is nice and not too busy if you hit it at the right time.
Our stay at The Kimberly was wonderful. It checked all the marks for service , cleanliness, location and the hotel style. It's a European style boutique hotel with vintage decor with all the modern amenities. Staff was supper nice and helpful. Only missing thing was the view. Since we had requested a specific type of suite, it didn't have view.
The Kimberly is easily one of the best hotels at which I've ever stayed. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The room was beautiful and very large for New York. The location was excellent and in walking distance to several sites. This is the only hotel I will stay at anytime I visit New York!
Based on a tip from a friend, my 15 yo son and I spent 5 nights at this boutique hotel filled with fairly spacious suites, many with great views. Terrific service all around. Breakfast and night bar at the 31st floor rooftop restaurant enclosed by glass and with an additional outdoor area that provide fantastic 270 degree views of the city. First floor Italian restaurant with high ceilings, old-world feel, excellent food. Great mid-town location. The Kimberly has it all. Enjoy.
My 25 year old daughter and I truly enjoyed a weekend getaway stay. We had a huge, well designed two bedroom suite with a living room, kitchen/dining area, two bathrooms and a balcony with views of the Chrysler Building and the East River. The suite was clean, comfortable and bright. What made the experience the best we've ever had (for any of our girl's NYC getaways over the years) were the people. The front desk was helpful and friendly with questions and arrangements ahead. The valet parking was a breeze. The doorman who went out of his way, literally, running a block away to get us a cab. The housekeepers were sweet and accommodating for my down bedding allergy.. The in room dining experience was awesome. The delicious, well presented food was only the beginning. There were two polite and friendly servers that placed a white tablecloth on our dining table and set us all up - one time for a full breakfast, one time for a light, late dinner and one time for just a bottle of wine and desserts. We had cocktails and appetizers one evening and a delicious dinner the next evening in the lobby level Bistango. Hostess and servers were wonderful and even remembered what kind of wine I had the first evening so I could order again the second night. We didn't have ideal weather, but really enjoyed chatting on the balcony with cocktails for hours. I only get to enjoy this time with my daughter every so often and The Kimberly was instrumental in helping us make happy memories to last a lifetime. Thank you to all of you! We already booked our trip for next year - hoping to get the same suite that we loved so much!
