"Pleasantly Surprised quality and amenities!"

The premises are very well taken care of, the room was amazing! I left my night robe hanging on the bathroom door when we left, after a few tries the Manager Carlos Toledo, called me back assisted me with a resolution. I was very pleasantly surprised he took it upon himself to make things right. No, I did not get my rob back but he asked me to send him the link where I ordered my rob, and he will give us a discount on our next visit to NOLA. Hope to visit soon and I will definitely stay at the Blake!! I definitely recommend this hotel, we were there for a wedding, we visited other rooms around FQ, and this Hotel stands up to all of the rest, hands down.

"Stay at the Blake Hotel in New Orleans"

The staff, service & Restautant was great, but the carpet in our room (number 1001) was filthy. We asked the housekeeper to vacuum it, which she did, but it didn't help. It needs to be professionally deep cleaned. We had to wash our feet before we could put on our shoes after walking barefoot in it.

"Very Poor room service and cleaning crew"

Came to my room door being open and my belongings on bed. Happened to my other colleagues who stayed with me too. Though customer service was good, services provided were bad. Breakfast was not included and very expensive for given amenities.

The Blake hotel is a nice hotel, with friendly staff, but the best part of my stay was dining in the hotel restaurant. I know people would say you don't go to NO and eat at a hotel restaurant but Chef Ne'Cole has changed my mind about that. Not only was her food absolutely delicious, her personality was as well. If you have not eaten her food you are missing out. I hear her bread pudding is fabulous, hate I missed that, but her take on shrimp and grits, andouille eggs Benedict and crab cake Benedict were amazing. Looking forward to having a meal again from her. Thank you Chef Ne'Cole for an awesome dining experience.

Had to do a one night stay in NO with friends. They chose the Blake and it turned out to be perfect. Clean, nice staff and conveniently located. Will definitely consider for future trips! I recommend it!

Had to drive through New Orleans for a family trip and loved what this hotel had to offer. The staff was very friendly, rooms were well kept, and overall was happy with everything. Definitely would come here again

Basic hotel, nothing special. Restaurant does not open early for breakfast and no coffee in lobby. Also, if they say room has "no view" this means no window so confirm this on check-in if you have any issues with claustrophobia. Check the extra blankets and linens for cleanliness upon entering although this is a recommendation at any hotel not just this one. I ranked it as average because bed was comfortable/clean, shower had ample hot water, and security personnel watched me as I stepped out the front of the hotel for a cigarette at 5 am. This would not be my first choice hotel when returning on business to NOLA; however, if you need a place for basic amenities then this wouldn't be the worst.

Came to NOLA for my first time. The Blake told us we were getting an upgrade. I was very upset. The room was very dated. It had a strong mildew smell. The furniture was stained, curtains had an odor, shower curtain stained, carpet in hallways are dirty. AC is very loud. We killed a bug(roach) in our room. I was very uncomfortable returning to my room each night.

Blake hotel posted hundreds of dancers for a pre-dance convention. All of the staff Went out of their way to help make the transition from our hotel to the ship go smoothly. The hotel is located in walking distance to the French quarter. The rooms were spacious and clean and up-to-date. There was a microwave and refrigerator in each room.

My husband and I stayed at the Blake . What I can say about the hotel is that it's very old,the elevator takes forever and the 10th floor hallway was very hot. As for the staff they where great !front desk was a little rude but I understand they where busy at the moment .There was a young man andreas who was very respectful every time we saw him. We asked him for towels and he brought them right away . My housekeeper Shannon was outstanding she had our room fresh every time we came back (husbands a pig ) but over all I would come back for sure

I booked 2 rooms for a weekend stay and my card was charged 3 times..When ask to speak with a mgr , they never would come up to the counter, on the last day of stay a was finally able to speak with someone but he at like he was clueless of what was going on...Now my card is 400.00 short and I'm getting the runned around about it.

The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant! Zana in particular was amazing! Hotel rooms were clean and standard for what you are paying. Great location within walking distance of great restaurants and Smoothie King Center. Would definitely stay here again!

Check in process was smooth. The lady who checked me in was friendly and helpful. The housekeepers were nice. The desk staff I encountered during my staff were rude. Otherwise, the hotel was old but clean and well maintained.

My family and I really enjoyed out stay. The staff was amazing. The room was nice and clean. Mr. Keith Williams was very nice and always had a smile on his face. As we were checking out Zana made checking out just as pleasant. We really love the location where everything was in walking distance and public transportation was right there.

"Convenience comes at a price"

Great location. Great price. I had Issues with my room which could've been handled more efficiently. I couldn't sleep for the first two nights (due to an issue with the fridge) and granted it's a vacay, but i like To get a good night's sleep while I'm away. The staff took too long to give me a room switch. They weren't at full occupancy. By the third day, it was great (in the new room), but i checked out on the 5th. Not sure if i would Stay again, as it wasn't horrible. But it wouldn't be my first or second choice

"Should be renamed The Blaze"

We stayed 3 nights and 4 days and all we could smell as we entered the elevator and the hallways was weed. The staff was friendly, the restaurant is good with decent prices. We had to track down our room service to get replacement towels and trash can liners. She seemed higher than a kite!! The bathroom had rusted fixtures and the tub had black stuff around the edges. Overall it was an okay stay. We just had the munchies afterwards.

I'd never been to New Orleans before and when I travel, I normally stay at a Marriott or Hilton brand as there's familiarity and I know what I'm getting. I must say I'm glad I took a chance(thanks Priceline). The service was great. Keith (great guy) gave me a spectacular/perfect room (I'm secretly hoping to get the same room on my next visit) in the corner on the 11th floor - room 1102 (I think). It had a great view of Jackson Square, perfect location. 10 minute walk to Bourbon St, 12 minutes to the House of Blues - and I walk slow. Very quiet hotel with a comfortable bed and a great assortment of cable channels. I didn't visit the restaurant that was on the ground floor as there were many restaurants and eateries on our travels. I will definitely be back.

The Blake Hotel is conveniently located on the St. Charles line. Our room looked out over Lafayette Square where they held a free concert one night. Close enough to Bourbon Street but far enough from the frenzy. We went for Jazz Fest and it was easy to get around. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The staff at the Blake really ups the quality! It is a generic conference hotel that needs some updating. There is 1 fantastic elevator and one that takes forever. Our check in process was lovely and everyone working front desk was great. The location is really fantastic so if not planning to spend loads of time, it's a great spot in New Orleans.

"Nice but needs updatiing."

Great place to be for the parades as it along one of the routes.The safe in our room did not work.Also some of the plugs were loose and did not work.The exercise room has some equipment that didn't work,there was nothing there to wipe the equipment down after working out and the complimetary fruit was old and getting shriveled.The employees at the desk were not very helpful or friendly.We realized that it was a busy time but that is no excuse for not giving good customer service.The manager Chaz was friendly and helpful.When we checked out the bill was confusing and Carlos was not very helpful in resolving it.

The rooms were neat and tidy, however our shower made an awful squeaking/squealing noise when it ran, and there was a component of it that dripped continuously. The furnishing could use an update as well.

"Did the job, nothing fancy, perfect location."

Did the job, nothing fancy, really dated decor, wished the rooms were bigger, wished the bathrooms weren't as dated and small as they were. Staff were AMAZING! Very friendly, welcoming, kind, and attentive. Perfect location, could walk many places, and the trolley was right outside the hotel.

I loved our trip here to New Orleans thanks to the Blake Hotel. I booked a trip with about 100 guests and their staff was ever so helpful all along the way. With this many people, I thought this trip might have been a nightmare, but the Blake employees made this trip perfect. The hotel is well within walking distance to anywhere you need to be. Our rooms were incredibly spacious and we couldn't have asked for anything more.

Nice Hotel. Only downside was that beds were not very comfortable. No fluffy pillows, no comforter at all- nothing to sink into after a long day of touring or dancing! Otherwise, great prices even during festivals.

The location is the greatest thing about this hotel. I also loved the restaurant there. However, the room was not that spacious and the bed wasn't that comfy. The bathroom was very small. I also wished mirrors were in the room and not just the bathroom. I probably wouldn't make this as my first choice to stay here.

I stayed at the Blake Hotel for one night during Jazz Fest. The hotel is centrally located in downtown New Orleans. About 1.5 mile walk to the French Quarter. Zana and Chelsea were very helpful at the front desk. They provided good advice about how to get around. I would stay at the Blake Hotel again.

The hotel in my. Opinion was not to Best Western Standards they had way too much furniture in the room the decor was very dated there was a strong musty smell probably due to the amount of condensation dripping down the inside of the windows and to top it all off they had closed the restaurant to the public and the hotel guests without any notice and opened it for a private party however they did sell some snacks at the registration desk if you were stupid enough to pay $8.00 for a .34 cent cup of noodles yes you read that right eight dollars I'm a diamond select member I stay at BW hotels more than I stay at home after that stay I have been thinking about switching hotels

I booked this hotel for a quick overnight trip for my husband and I as we had a business meeting in the morning. He was pleasantly surprised with my pick, the rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was fast and valet service was great! The hotel was very easy to locate once we got to the city, we will definitely be back for a pleasure trip as it is in a great location.

Zana (happy belated birthday) and Jamila (blessings to your new addition) were AMAZING. Nearly everything in the area (French Quarter) was sold out, and I had to adjust a few arrangements. Zana and Jamila went above and beyond, which was GREATLY appreciated. The property is in THE perfect location. The room was fine (maybe 3.5 stars) for what I needed. I wasn't expecting luxury or high end, but UNDERSTAND SOMETHING TRAVELERS: THERE ARE NO 4-5 star PROPERTY OUT THERE FOR LESS THAN $200+ PER NIGHT.......ZERO! Either way the service outweighed this properties short comings. Thanks ladies!

"Clean rooms & central location"

The location is great if you want to be away from the French Quarter but close enough to walk. It's about 1/2 a mile from all the touristy stuff. A few of the people at the front desk are rude, but we had an enjoyable visit for the most part. Be prepared to pay for valet parking.

Staff at this hotel ignored us while we stood directly in front of them at the desk. There were three staff standing there... Then when we asked for our bags from the back the worker dragged our bag along the floor stating it was too heavy.

Combining conference with fun visit and found the Blake and staff a great choice. Close enough to canal street and good food options. Went for early run from the hotel every morning and felt safe and easy distance to jog to riverfront and cafe summons. . Desk receptionist were awesome ! Xanax went out of her way to be a great and fun host. Cafe adjoining the lobby was a good choose for breakfast late dinner and casual glass of wine. Try mothers just around the corner for breakfast YUM ! Room was clean and comfortable. Good choice ! Good neighborhood.

"No hot water "

There was no hot water all afternoon and evening. The front desk said maintenance would be in in the morning to look at it. No other rooms available with hot water or other accommodations offered. Walls are very thin. You can hear doors slamming and hotel staff in the hallways with their walkie talkies blaring.

My girlfriends and I have been coming to New Orleans for the French Quarter Festival for several years now. We decided to try a new hotel and have found The Blake to be it! The check in process was a little slow, but they explained they were training a new person. We arrived from the airport at 10 AM and were allowed an early check-in. Normal check in time is 4 PM. We were able to put our luggage in the room and head to the festival. The room was neat and tidy, bathroom was clean, as were the sheets. The safe worked just fine to store our valuables, tablets, etc. The view from our seventh floor window was of a park which was quite nice! The streetcars pass in front of the hotel and the stop is very convenient. However, the Quarter was easily within walking distance. The restaurant in the hotel served some pretty tasty beverages! I loved the Who Dat tini...vodka, kaluha, and cinnamon. Breakfast was amazing! My favorite was the chicken and waffles but the shrimp and grits were also excellent! The staff was super nice, especially Kelly Forrest and Keith Williams. They were very friendly, helpful, and genuinely concerned about our stay. The two men went above and beyond. They wanted to make it our best stay and they definitely succeeded! We will be back next year.

My family and I stayed at the Blake hotel primiraly due to the location to all the attractions. Inital expereince was awesome. However, there was hair on the sheets and the towels. The faucet handle was falling apart and difficult to operate. We requested a late checkout due to a few planned actractions the following morning. When we returned to the room to checkout, we realized our luggage was riffled through, and the money we had in the safe was stollen. Do not use their safe! I would not recpmmend satying at this hotel!

I am going to be honest, I was lure by the name, considering the price, I though that I was going to be surrender by a cozy hotel boutique like,in the middle of Nola, Oh boy, I was wrong!!! The best about that hotel is the location. Other than that, the rooms are very old, i(t does not mean anything if they will keep them in good shape.) The front door didn't work, the faucet in the bathtub and in the sink were about to come off, the bed was making a horrible noise and the sheets had stains. The best? our housekeeper, very friendly, she was the only one that will acknowledge us. Honestly, first and last. Will never stay in a BW Hotel.

The location was ideal! Close to the Convention Center and Close to the French Quarter. Directly on a streetcar line. The restaurant in the hotel was very good - I'd recommend the Baked Mac & Cheese, Soups and Salads and the Bread Pudding was very good and they had very nice breakfasts. I also had good wifi reception from my room to work on my tablet and my laptop. The front desk was very responsive to our issues and they all got resolved however we had numerous housekeeping and maintenance issues: 1) Bloody fingerprint on the door frame to our bathroom when we checked in that had to be cleaned 2) Room Safe had to be reset by maintenance to work 3) Dripping leak from our ceiling (HVAC condensate) that maintenance had to come out two times to fix correctly 4) Safe too small for a laptop so had to have the front desk lock up my computer Had a nice quiet dark room, however, the view was of a brick wall. Our friends had a room down the hall with a nice view but had extremely loud neighbors that had drunken screaming cursing bouts nightly at 2am.

"The best thing..."

The best thing about this hotel is the location. For what we paid for this hotel, i did not expect the service and rooms that we got to be so luckluster. A couple of things went wrong. First we were given a room that was filthy. The bathtub had someone's hair in it, the toilet seat look like a toddler had trouble finding its target, and the bedsheets were stained. When we told the front desk they had no problem changing the room. However, we were sent to a room 3 levels above our original that had windows that faced a brick wall so there was no lighting besides the little desk lamp. The room had a weird odor and we were literally next to the ice machine—the only room near a constantly used ice machine! There was no real ventilation so every shower added a dampness to the weird smell already in the room. Then, the hotel charged the wrong card for my stay. When i booked, I said to charge everything to my credit after reserving the room with my debit card. They charged majority of the stay on my credit but for some reason charged my debit for final charges at check out. Since i didn't get a receipt at check out, i was unable to correct the attendant. This place is great for last minute trips with no real expectations besides sleep and location—avoid if possible.

"Deceiving"

When booking this hotel, the photos are very deceiving. So deceiving, they arent even photos of the actual hotel! There is no court yard area and the photos of the rooms are not accurate! For a small fortune we had to pay to get what we thought we were getting we were left flabbergasted at what we got. The rooms were small and dated and dont even get me started about cleanliness. The rooms were filthy. Sheets hadn't been Changed. The room was falling apart. Stains on the ceiling. A/C barely worked in the room and didnt work at all in the hall way. Bugs in the bathroom. Black mold everywhere. Getting the front desk to bring clean sheets and pillows was a small fight as we had to call down almost every 30 mins for 2 hours to get them to finally come up. When these issues were brought up to the girl at the front desk and Chaz the general manager, they had nothing to say other than "Oh okay". When requested that we get a printed out bill for our records we told No that the company we booked through would provide an emailed copy. When we asked very nicely for one from them as well we were still told no that legally they couldnt provide us with one. Was also not pleased when at check in we were told the card on file for incidentals (we paid in full for the room prior) would not be charged unless the room had issues after we left due to issues of fees not being returned to the card if there were no issues was charged right as she was telling us that. When we called the hotel asking about it we were told to wait 10 business days if there were no issues.

"Awful... Beware"

Where to start. This hotel is absolutely disgusting. The housekeeping staff should be terminated, and management for allowing this hotel to be so dirty. Housekeeping does not change the sheets, doesn't even have them on their cart. On the elevator one housekeeper had colorful wigs and shirts that she found in a room, and stated that now she doesn't have to buy any wigs for Mardi Gras. I guess turning the items into lost and found, or try to contact the owner was a ridiculous idea. The carpet is disgusting, the elevators are slow and dirty. Front desk staff is ok at best. Valet is $46 a day and take FOREVER to get your car. I typically would never stay in a hotel like this, but it was for a time share promotion. Believe the negative reviews on here and go somewhere else.

I picked the hotel because we got a special deal but it was worth more than we ended up paying. It's in a location that's convenient to much of what makes New Orleans a great place to visit. There is reasonable parking nearby and the staff was great.

My stay here was amazing. I felt like a celebrity. Keith and Zana are very professional and they were very accommodating; at first we were giving a double room but I was with my husband and we prefer a king size bed. We were giving I know one of the best rooms in the hotel. Do yourself a favor and have breakfast at the Corner Cafe. The shrimp and grits are to die for. We must return!

"Awesome hotel but hard beds"

Loved most everything about the property except the fact they had the most firm beds I've ever slept in (and that's saying something). They did try giving me extra blankets, etc to help the situation but it wasn't enough. Just make sure you bring a foam pad to put on the bed when you come...

"GEAPS NOLA"

This is a great hotel just blocks (easy walking distance) from the French Quarter. The attached restaurant and lounge have good food, decent prices and hours of operation. The downtown streetcars run in front of the hotel and there is a stop just down the block. The rooms have recently be refinished and are in really good shape. Definitely a good value for money hotel.

Annoying film on windows that blurred cityscape views from our 8th floor room. Location pretty convenient to warehouse district, convention center, Lafayette park, cruise terminal and only a few blocks to the French Quarter. This tired property is a decent option, but could use some love and attention, or s better price point considering the many nearby options. Staff was friendly. Cheers to travel! ⚜️

We stayed here over the St. Patrick's Day weekend. We were VERY pleased. The room was the best with a great view (213). The bed wasn't very comfortable but everything else was. The food in the restaurant was more than great and the front desk attendants, Keith and Kelly, gave me life!!!! They really made my time at the hotel enjoyable. I definitely recommend this place. The only drawback, my mom had an edible arrangement delivered that never made it to my room...Edible Arrangements said it was delivered... so...

We stayed at the Blake in New Orleans and were very pleased. The staff was very nice and helpful, the rooms were clean and the restaurant had good food that was reasonably priced. We liked the fact that the hotel is a couple blocks from Bourbon Street so when we wanted some down time from the partying, we were able to get it.

Hotel was nice and clean and the staff was somewhat friendly . It was definitely worth the price of the room and would stay there again on another trip. The location of the hotel was in a very good spot as we were able to visit the world war two museum as it was in walking distance and also in walking distance of Bourbon Street and the French quarter . The hotel sits on St. Charles Avenue and is just a block away from Canal Street which is one of the main streets in New Orleans it seems that just about anything you would need to do with the New Orleans is within walking distance. It was very easy to get an Uber ride if we needed one to go outside the city in the area outside the hotel was also kept nice and clean. The rooms did provide a refrigerator and a microwave in the restaurant down below we did not visit but seemed to be very clean and nice. The hotel did provide a computer and printer and I was able to print off a fishing license at the hotel which was also very convenient

The location of the hotel was great for our two day stay as we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The price for the stay was affordable. Be aware there is parking but you have to pay daily for.

The room was good for the price. We had a problem with housekeeping not servicing the room once and the bed was not to standard for hotel chains, I found it uncomfortable. However, the room we had was spacious for the price.

Hotel is in business district, just a couple blocks from french quarter. Walking distance to many places 8ncluding some really great restaurants. Room was very small, and bed was way too firm for my liking. They do make good use of the space in the room however, and it was kept clean. There is a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and in room safe. Doors on rooms tend to slam shut. Valet is expensive but so is parking anywhere in NOLA. There is a self park garage in building next door for about $15 less per day than valet.

Rooms are smallish but good value for price paid; beds were very comfortable; just a few blocks to board St Charles Trolley; WW2 Museum a 12 min walk; 10 min walk to 2 famous oyster bars in French quarter; skip valet park as public garage only a block away if you don't plan to use car each day; friendly front desk; no breakfast included.

Awesome location on St Charles Ave. The street car stops right outside for easy navigating the city. Rooms spacious with a view of the area. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Just a 7 minute walk down to the casino and the riverfront.

We had a great time, as always, but The Blake Hotel was a major part of our satisfaction. The hotel was very accommodating, especially since we were traveling with our 2 and 4 year old sons. It's very clean, and the rooms are super nice. Ms. Elaine is AMAZING and super friendly and helpful. Not only that, the price was super awesome. The location is great in that you can walk just about anywhere, and the streetcar stops right in front of the hotel. We will definitely return.

Came in for a time sharing preview at The Marquee Preview center and Mardi Gras parades were taking place right in front of the hotel. I had everything we needed in walking distance. The Café at the Square that adjoins to the hotel had great food, coffee, and a bar. When I check-in and check-out Zana and Keith provided outstanding customer. I definitely will highly recommend Blake hotel to family and friends.

I booked the Blake last minute for the Sunday before Mardi Gras & had 3 others staying in my room. Also wanted to note that they didn't do valet during Mardi Gras due to being on the parade routes, which meant we had to lug our stuff several blocks. We were attending the day parades & check in wasn't until 4. I show up to hotel around 3:25 after the skies opened up & we were caught in a torrential downpour. I was carrying my luggage, bags of stuff caught in the parade, & a large cooler. I'm completely soaked from the storm & am walking with my aunt. They had several security gaurds at the entrance of hotel. I completely understand with the madness of Mardi Gras that this is necessary to a certain extent. But they wouldn't allow ANYONE into the lobby without a wrist band. The security guards reluctantly let me in after I told them I was checking in. My aunt whom I'm with is not one of the family members actually staying in the room, but she manages to get in the door with me while I wait to check in. I'm told I have to wait until 4 & the other members of my party must have a wristband. So me and my aunt respectfully move to a corner of the lobby to wait & dry off a bit until check in. A security guard then proceeds to walk over to me & inform me my aunt is not allowed to stand there with me, she must go outside. I try to explain I'm staying there and she's just waiting with me until I can check in. He repeats she can't stay. I am beyond irritated that my 65 year old aunt who is soaked from the rain is being told she couldn't stand with me who is paying to stay at the hotel!!! Other family members of mine stayed at the Ace hotel & did not have the issue of mandatory wristbands to even ENTER the hotel lobby. So ridiculous & I wish that had not happened because it put a bad taste in my mouth the rest of my stay. My room was clean & spacious. The actual hotel employees seemed very friendly. But again, super disappointed in the whole check in incident.

My hubby and I booked a room here to attend a ball on March 1, 2019. To begin, the parking was atrocious! There's only 2 elevators that carry only 6 people at a time. We got a wheelchair accessible room when that's not what we booked. We definitely won't not be staying again.

We love the hotel omg the room is clean housekeeping is wonderful I had so many scares for this trip but I must say we are enjoying our stay. On yesterday we finally got a chance to meet the room attendant that's been servicing our room Tasha is a sweetheart I over heard her having a conversation with another employee (NOTHING BAD) but I must say she cheered me up as well. The rain been trying to steal the excitement but me and my gals are going to party rain sleet are snow.....,We met another young lady waiting for the elevator (THAT TAKES FOREVER) and she gave us two restaurants to try out she told us that they were her go to spots we are here until Wednesday I just had to write a review because we are going to make Blake Hotel our permanent spot when traveling back to the big easy. Keith & Chad have been helping us out with directions & locations Cintrel have been checking on us everyday making sure we have everything we need and making sure the room was serviced (two thumbs up)the staff is amazing and I feel so at home if I could give 10stars I would.

My daughter in law booked this hotel because of the price. It was a great price, especially during Mardi Gras and the location. The hotel was convenient and we walked everywhere. Parking was not available due to Mardi Gras but P159 was convenient and an easy walk. (That is another issue getting to the parking lot during Mardi Gras....but that does not have a reflection on The Blake Hotel). Our room had two queen beds and was rather small but not cramped. It was clean and provided what we needed. My bed squeaked and moved like a waterbed but it was comfortable to sleep on. Not sure if The Blake would be my first choice if I visit NOLA again, but I would not be against it.

I stayed at the Blake Hotel for 3 nights for the Run Rock n Roll race weekend. I could not possibly pick a better location. It was easy walking distance to the Convention Center, the start lines for both races and a quick walk to the French Quarter or to pick up a few grocery items for the room. There was always someone present at the reception desk, staff were courteous, friendly and helpful and my room was immaculately clean. There is a lovely little restaurant downstairs and it's pretty inexpensive so if you need to get a quick bite, there's a simple menu that has something for everyone. The lounge area is lovely and the decor is beautiful. Did I mention this place was immaculate? Same goes for the bedrooms. Plenty of space and storage and decent toiletries are provided. The bed was comfortable, although I would have paid some cash for better pillows! I didn't need housekeeping service as I was solo on this trip but Housekeeping checked on me a few times to see if I needed anything, which I thought was lovely. The only down side I had was being on the second floor near the elevator and the housekeeping stock room. Between the inside and outside noise it was hard to get any uninterrupted sleep. Just something to keep in mind if you need to get sleep or are trying to get some work done. Other than that, I was really pleased and feel that the value and service were good bang for my buck, even over an event weekend!

Based on the location, the price of the room was quite reasonable. Compact room and bathroom size was adequate for the purpose. Good restaurant selections and moderately priced. Get a room that does not face the street so you don't hear the trolleys going by.

I have a great opportunity to travel for business and pleasure several times a year. February, Mardi Gras season, New Orleans. I booked a room and then needed a Bit more info. Keith at the Blake hotel was awesome!! Even on the telephone late at night, he was professional, courteous and actually had all the answers. Imagine my surprise as I checked in this afternoon and he was at the desk. He actually had a couple of difficult guests before me, yet he was composed and took care of their needs. I Am IMPRESSED. Nori was at the counter also, smiling and polite. They guided me to the local areas I was looking for and printed out the info I needed. WOW !! What a refreshing experience. "Basic Hotel with Indifferent Staff"

Stayed here for 8 nights on business. It served my basic needs and was clean and the room was spacious. The staff never seemed like they wanted to engage with customers - odd in such a friendly city. The restaurant off the lobby is not part of the hotel per se but it wasn't up to scratch either. Good central location in the CBD so that might be good for you.

We visited New Orleans for the first time for the Rock-N-Roll races, as a group of 16 people. We were able to walk to all the main areas. Great location. The hotel accommodated all of our needs. The staff were very kind and extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy and everything was in working order. I would definitely recommend the Blake Hotel.

"Fell short of expectations"

I unfortunately experienced a data breach due to the careless actions of the hotel's management. While two managers attempted separately to make up for this mishandling of personal information - via champagne, breakfast, and pre-reserved rooms for early check-in - none of these items were actually followed through except for the breakfast (although only for 2 of the 3 mornings). While I appreciated the staff's attempts so remedy the egregious handling of my personal information, they severely lacked the follow through necessary to remedy my dissatisfaction. Outside of this isolated event, as a general patron I was disappointed in the hotel. The rooms were dated, beds were lumpy, and small cramped bathrooms. The hotel's layout results in many rooms facing street side, with a loud streetcar rolling through multiple times an hour. Many rooms will be located near or directly in front of a loud elevator. Additionally, the elevators are very slow. The redeeming qualities are the location of the hotel and the on-site restaurant. All in all, I recommend trying a different hotel. You'll likely find more comfortable accommodations down the street for a lesser or comparable price to the Blake Hotel.

Found this hotel when we were looking for something close to the WW II Museum in NOLA and the price was right. It turned out to be very centrally located in the Warehouse District, walking distance from the French Quarter and right next to the St. Charles trolley stop. There were numerous restaurants and bars within blocks of the hotel, including one in the hotel itself. Front desk people were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a great view of downtown from our rooms but it was very quiet. There was an inside parking lot on the same block for $30 for 24 hours. We liked this place so much, we are going back again next week.

Everything about our stay at the Blake was perfectly pleasant. Keith at the front desk was incredibly helpful, offering to hold out luggage for a few hours after checkout, and helping us to get some printouts on their public computers in the lobby. Would stay here again.

My room was huge, clean and well equipped. What made my stay special was the terrific staff at this hotel. I especially liked Chelceaum, the room attendant for my floor. She went out of her way to make sure I had what I wanted. She also passed the word to co-workers that I had some preferences -- extra coffee, lotion -- so that I'd get the room prepared the way I like it when I got back from my conference. What a charming and smart young woman!

"New Orleans Concert"

Hotel was decent and within walking distance to the concert venue. Room was a bit cramped. Not sure if it was the excess furniture or just a small room. They offer breakfast and parking, but at a PREMIUM PRICE. Probably won't stay here again. Not worth the money.

"WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN.... ..."

I came to the N.O for ladies night out....We arrival at the Blake around 2ish Saturday. We entered the hotel no one opened their mouth (2 Guys at the desk one checking in and the other one looking at the computer when he wasn't walking back and forward) never once spoke or ask could he assist me. So it was my turn in line finally, I got checked in never once a acknowledge as a BW GOLD MEMBER or anything. Got up to the room I noticed a stain on the bed and in the bathroom piss on the rum of the toilet & debris on the floor.Called down to the front desk and the clerk said he would change my room and bring up a key. & he did.... Next room wasn't any better may worst . So we decided to stay at the first room since it was a little better the clerk was well aware that we was going back two the first room because he did walk us to the room. Okkk so we left aorund 3ish and came back at midnight put the key in the door and got a RED LIGHT(RED FLAG ) ok I went down to the desk and the security guy got the key I had my I.D n hand but he never asked to see it ..he remade the key and I went bk up to the room I thought I was checked into. Put the key in the door and the dead bolt lock was on and a man screaming at me...SMH I couldn't believe my eyes nor ears . Ran back to the desk only to find out he never changed us back to the right room number WOW...ITS 12:30 now and our bags are in the room with screaming man that didn't have a clue he was checked into a room that was already occupied with gst and bags in the closet. Security and my cousin when bk up to retrieve our bags . So the night auditor moved us to totally different room that was suppose to be empty. The night guy was the most pleasant person we encountered at the Blake also the supervisor lady everyone else need a class on customer service he SOUTH. Another , issue was the internet never worked on my computer which was very disappointing and frustrating . We was giving 20 off breaks we couldn't use because they was busy and rude.The Blake may really need to look into a customer service class the staff because they have no clue on the service part of the business. That could have made all the issues better if they could have offered the smalls thing ever (a smile & common courtesy). The Blake need to remold the rooms as well as the staff for returning business.

Took 20mins to checkin, a/c only got room to 75, and bed was hard as rock. When I spoke with front desk they told me maintenance was not available until the morning and that that was there standard bed. Was told they were completely booked and I could either stay or leave. If I left there would be no refund.

Clean, comfortable, 5 minute walk to Bourbon St/French Quarter, right on streetcar line, restaurant downstairs with delicious yet reasonably priced food/drinks (great happy hour prices!), allowed us to check in at 8:30 am (wow!), plus stored our luggage for free on our last day so we could have a little extra time to explore. Could not have asked for more!

I like to first thanks 'Kelly' at the reception who went out of his comfort to give us 2 rooms side by side. He was very welcoming and gave good local tips to go around the night in NOLA. Rooms were good for the price and location is just 10 min walk from all main attractions of NOLA.

Staff are hot-cold.,some great, some just "try". I was placed in room with park view, was ok but the patio outside my window was broken down...good workout facility. BEST location! The Quater is a few blocks away..great restaurants with 2-3 block radius. The Chase Bank center has a great food court for lunch or munching!

We were quickly checked in. The room was a lot bigger than I expected, but clean and comfortable. The service was impeccable. This hotel was located close to pretty much anything you are looking for, merely blocks from the French Quarter. I will definitely stay here again!

Never Again will I stay here. Too expensive for the price. There where cords tangled everywhere on the floor. curtains were broken. Microwave was so load I thought it was going to explode.The service was poor. The wait time for everything was poor.

We stayed 4 nights....our toilet wouldn't even flush toilet paper the entire time. Each day when we reported it, the staff could record it on their clipboard and tell us when we returned that it was fixed. It never was...on the final day, the chief engineer tried to argue with us that it was working when it clearly was not. At checkout, we had to ask for a discount for the inconvenience of having to come down to the lobby to use the restroom for our trip...which they did grant, but it felt like a begrudging move. On a positive note, I rarely sleep so soundly in a hotel bed...the bed and pillows were spectacular! The room we had was very small for the furniture in it. Don't plan on using the desk you couldn't even move the chair out enough to sit at it....guess you could sit on the bed instead. There are many other places to stay, I'd choose differently if we get back to NOLA.

Blake Hotel is the perfect place to stay for a visit to New Orleans. It's within walking distance to many of the main historical areas/sights including Garden District, French Quarter, popular cemeteries, bars, jazz clubs, restaurants. I highly recommend it.

Stop allowing people to smoke cigarettes in the hotel! The 2nd and 4th floors reek of cigarettes, even though it is aupsuppo to be non smoking. Rude front desk person at night acted pissed when we asked for a different room due to the smoke issue. The water was shut off for hours the last night we were there and they didn't deliver a notice under the door until AFTER it was turned back on. The room was not clean. Dust everywhere, pee on toilet seat dried up, tables not wiped off. Yuck! No actual mattress cover under sheets. No comforter or heavy blanket to sleep with, just a thin one and sheets. When there is a water problem that needs repair, let people know! Don't allow staff to treat customers like they are a bother when they ask for something. Pre requested items not in the room when we arrived. Got stuck in the elevator that only partially works. I wanted to go somewhere else but there was a fee for cancellation... I will never ever stay there again. This was for my honeymoon!

"Quaint hotel with minor issues"

We checked in on a Friday with no issues. We enjoyed the location of the hotel. Room was small but decorated nicely. However, the LARGE mirror in the bathroom peeled away from the wall as I was getting ready. Luckily I was there and able to catch it before it smashed to pieces. It was heavy though and had to call for my husband to assist. It could have been an ugly situation!! The mirror was only being held up by caulk! Then I tried using the room phone to call downstairs and it didn't even have the right phone jack! When we got back to the room later both items had been fixed. Having hot water was an issue as well. And then once we returned home I realized that we had been OVER charged by $178!!

I'd say pay the extra money to stay at another hotel. The price may be reasonable and the location great, but the rooms are not clean and there is no real housekeeping response during the week. There is only one person at the front desk. No doorman or valet service. Elevators are older than me.

"Great hotel, bad service"

This hotel was great! Rooms are clean and neat. Lots of space. But... The check-in on a Friday afternoon was terrible! It was busy. The lady, Zana was extremely rude, and I think she hated tourists who weren't from the US. Parking is expensive, around $45 per day (with the valet at the hotel) and we were misinformed by the Valet guy.

We picked the Blake because it was close to where some friends were staying. It's a very clean hotel. Every single person working there were extremely nice and very helpful. Our only problem is that, like many people, we carry smartphones and tablets with us on trips. They had outlets on every lamp but they were worn and wouldn't hold our electrical plugs. We asked them to give us external outlets and they responded very quickly. They have Beautyrest mattresses that are very firm so that made sleeping a bit difficult. One important tip - ask for a room on the opposite side of St. Charles - The streetcars run down St. Charles very early and very late and they are noisy!

The overall experience here was less than expected. MANY cosmetic issues...needs major renovations. There were sandbags and cones littered at each entrance. Stains on sheet. I was also overcharged TWICE! (Vending items; valet)

The hotel is in a great location for its price. It's about 5 min walk to Canal St where all the big name hotels are located. It's about 8-10 min to all the restaurants and bars you want to go to in the French Quarter. It's about 25 min to French Market. Upon check in, we were given a very dusty room. I could tell that either the room has been off market for a while for repair or the housekeeper just didn't clean it well. The Heating didn't work in the room and we asked the front desk to fix and left for dinner around 7:30pm. Upon our return at 11pm, no one has been to our room. The front desk lady was the only person there on Christmas Eve with a line of guests. She spoke to a guy in a hoodie and backpack (no uniform no name tag, wouldn't let him in if I didn't actually see him behind the front desk) and asked him to go to our room. The maintenance guy arrived, looked at the AC, found an excuse to go to the electrical room to look at something and told us that he would come back. About 30 min passed, nothing. I called the front desk, it's about 11:45PM now and the front desk told me that he has gone home from the previous shift. Mr.Kelly from the overnight shift helped me out and changed my room after he and a security guard came up to take a look at the unit. THANK YOU! He was truly the only employee who looked like he genuinely cared. I was moved from 10 to 11th floor. I had no problem with the room on the 11th floor - much cleaner. However, the elevator that has access to 11th floor was out the entire time when we were there (3days). We had to drag our luggage in middle of the night up the stairs and down when we checked out. Apparently, we met another woman who had a huge piece of luggage and she wasn't even told that the elevator to her floor was not working. We helped her with her luggage up the stairs. I stay with BW often and this is not a Premier property. I'd only stay here if you can find a great deal.

First, I want to thank Alexa for an excellent check-in. She was charming and a definite asset to my experience. The hotel's location is within easy shopping distance of Canal Street, Magazine Street, and the French Quarter. No taxi needed. My room was a decent size, and spotlessly clean Lots of TV channels to select. Front desk booked me a very early wake-up call and a taxi, both of which happened without incident. The only negative thing I can say is that they failed to clean my room the first day, other than that a very good experience.

"New Orleans Trip"

The Blake Hotel was an excellent location to be able to walk to see several beautiful Churches. The W.W.2 Museum was only about 8 blocks away. It was only 5 blocks from the French Quarter, and a little over a mile from The St.Louis Cathedral Basilica and French Market Mall. Many places to shop on Royal. The Court of 2 Sisters Restaurant and Pat Obriens were also within a mile walk. Did not need my car during my stay. Comfortable cinvenient lodging and wide variety of places to eat everyday.

as i start most of my reviews , this is not a 5 star hotel but a very nice place for my $71 + tax rate. no reort fee. located right on the st charles street car line for ease of getting around. as with most NOLA hotels there is a hefty fee if you have them park your car. all employees were nice and helpful. great location in CBD.

the hotel is very clean and welcoming. check in was flawless. if you're using the valet parking be sure to mention that at check-in to save some time. it is only 5 blocks to the french quarter - easy walk, the room is a rather small but not too bad for a downtown hotel. the bed and pillows were very comfortable. it would have been nice if the the refrigerator were plugged in. we put in some drinks when we got there and when we got back later in the evening they were warm.

The Blake Hotel is a clean, well maintained property. The location and price was great; and within walking distance to great restaurants. The staff were both professional and friendly. The rooms were small but we were only there to sleep since we spent the majority of the night on Bourbon Street.

The exterior of the hotel could seriously use a face lift. I think the renovation budget went to the lobby and restaurant. The guest room I stayed in was horrible. The A/C ran the whole time but never cooled the room, the faucet in the bathroom was broken, tiny bathroom, no counter space, hot water was sketchy, beds were hard as a rock. Just an overall bad experience. Will not go back.

"Great Location/Hotel just OK"

Stayed at the Blake for four days. The hotel did not add much to the New Orleans experience except that the location is very convenient to the French Quarter, the Superdome , Streetcar/bus and many fine restaurants. Location is the overwhelming positive to saying at the Blake. Riding the streetcar for 40 cents as a senior was very cheap, fun and it covers a large section of the city. Rode the streetcar to a grocery store, University and fitness center. Perfect. The Front Desk staff were especially nice and helpful as were all other employees. You can take a cab, Uber or Lyft to the airport for about $30+ and the shuttle for $24. It took the Lyft I ordered to pick me up one minute to arrive on site. The airport is about 30 minutes away if the traffic is normal. The room was large with two queen beds, coffee maker, fridge, desk etc. It was not luxurious but tidy. The bed on the other hand had one of the most uncomfortable, creaky spring mattresses I have ever slept on. Really bad. The housekeeping was hit and miss and there was not enough help to service the rooms in a timely and efficient manner. It is definitely an older property that needs some upgrades. That being said it is hard not to have a good time in New Orleans. The weather was perfect.

"Dated, not well managed. Lousy experience"

We were put in room 806. You DO NOT want that one or any of the 06 rooms from what I understand. It had Two very small windows that look out at a cement wall three feet away. Our room was not made up after the first night. I asked the front desk clerk to have it taken care of. It was thereafter The room was old and not very well kept. More like a cell than a hotel room.

"N.O.L.A Fun"

We checked in hassle free. Our room was ok. In our room we were had a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. A room over the restaurant would nit be my first choice. Early morning you can literally hear the kitchen prepping. Besides that. Nice hotel and in a great location. Directly across from Lafayette Square. Near just about everything. Casino,Canal .St Bourbon st also!

Nice hotel within walking distance of most touristy things and the bus line. Kelly Forest (at the front desk) was great - very friendly. We were able to check out late (1pm) for no extra charge, and he gave us free bottled water. Loved the high ceilings in the rooms! There was a yellow stain on one of the towels and some hair on the floor of the bathroom. Otherwise, everything was clean and quiet.

"Failed Communication and Housekeeping Issues"

I spent 4 nights at this hotel, and it did not meet my expectations.I had housekeeping issues daily ranging from missed items in the room, a pile of dirty towels left in the hallway for a day, to a day where my room was not made up at all (my last full day). I reported things to the front desk, and that helped correct things after the fact, but issues continued. The hotel uses a text message system with guests, and on my second full day I replied with a concern about housekeeping and a request. The answer I received? “Thank you for staying with us, we hope to see you again.” I responded that I had 2 more nights to go, and never received another response. When I came back to the property the third day to discover my room had not been made up, I reported it to the front desk and also inquired about the texts. By looking into the computer system she could see they were still ‘pending' from the previous day - no one had read them. I was told a manager would call me that night, but no one reached out.I checked out the next day, and wrote a lengthy email to the general manager. As of writing this I am still waiting for a response from the hotel. I would not recommend this property.

"My guests waited hours"

This hotel needs an entirely new management. I had many guests coming from long distances. Most of them had to wait hours to get into their rooms; I learned that this has been the case for some time. Our own room was never cleaned completely. Even the least expensive hotels perform better in this crucial function. That said, it is a nice property with a good location. Once a management is in place that realizes that guests should be treated well, it will merit a higher rating.

Was in new orleans for vacation and checking in was super easy and merilly was super helpful,I had a great experience even though merilly told me there was no king bedrooms available she gave me a room with a great city view and plenty of room for two people. So love going to the blake every trip to new Orleans,also love the breakfast at the square restaurant.

The Blake Hotel in New Orleans is a fine hotel with friendly and professional staff. The Cafe on the Square located in the hotel is awesome. My husband and I have stayed at the Blake each time we attend a Saints game!

Absolutely fabulous place to stay. Everything was clean & in walking distance to nearly any “must see” location. Since I've moved from the southern area, I've always missed being so close to New Orleans, so when we decided vacation/birthday trip I couldn't have been happier. Everyone we met at the hotel was extremely professional & kind. Anytime I'm back in the area, I can count on The Blake hotel for being a promising experience.

"Not worth the price"

Luck of the draw I got the worst room on the floor - the ice machine was literally right outside the door and it was noisy even when no one was using it, and it had very small windows that faced a wall (so no natural light). But overall there were issues that were not unique to my room. Checking in took way too long - the girl did the best she could but why management would put her at the front by herself on a busy weekend at a busy time, no idea. Could definitely be cleaner - the bathroom had a fair bit of hair that looked to be from at least 4 different individuals. The elevator was slow and looked more like a freight elevator than a passenger one, and the key card didn't work so anyone could use it (ie. not secure). Checking out they mistakenly charged me for 4 nights' worth of valet parking even though my Uber was outside waiting to take me to the airport. They reversed the charge but given that my credit card is from Canada, the back and forth transaction actually still cost me money in foreign exchange fees.On the plus side the staff was friendly and location excellent.Overall not an awful stay, but for the price I paid and what they try to be, I expected much, much more.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay centrally located to many attractions, this is a great option. It is a little older but is well maintained and clean. Staff was attentive - we had a small maintenance issue with our room andit was addressed immediately and we were given a little goodie bag along with a nice note from the maintenance supervisor and his contact info.

We use Best Western frequently when we travel in the USA and found Blakes disappointing. The only interactions we had with staff was via the front desk. We asked for more coffee and after searching thry could only find one sachet. We bought snacks and they didn't know the prices. One of the two lifts is shared with service staff who were surly and unwelcoming. Breakfast was not provided, but there was an attached cafe which was independant of the hotel. We used the hotel whilst visiting the blues festival in Lafayette Square so location was perfect. There are few restaurants/cafes nearby and most of these are closed at weekends.Best Western French Quarter is better located for French Quarter, more friendly, cheaper and provided breakfast.

"Great Location!"

This hotel was in a perfect location! It was a 15-20 minute walk to the French Quarter and a 10 minute walk to the WWII Museum. Valet parking was quick and convenient. The hotel restaurant had a great breakfast, and there were tons of restaurants within a short walking distance. Our room was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel. Great value for the location!

"Almost want to call it the Blech hotel"

There is so much potential for this hotel to be a 4-star amazing experience. But it falls very short. Our group had three rooms for three nights, booked two months in advance. While we were given 3 rooms at check-in, two were different than what i had been given on the hotel confirmation. Housekeeping skipped two rooms one out of the 3.5 days we were there, and I was told upon requesting a cleaning that the housekeeping staff had all left for the day and there was nothing to be done (in fairness, someone from the laundry service did come and tidy up later, presumably on orders from management since housekeeping was't available). Our room had almost no water pressure in the shower. Another of our rooms had a broken temp control handle on the shower. We reported our pressure issue - either it was ignored or was unfixable - nobody got back to me so I don't know if they even came to look. There was some mold in two bathrooms.front desk service was dismal, and apparently as Diamond members we were supposed to be given either a welcome gift or bonus points or something - we were't offered anything. In fact, it felt like we were doing them a favour by checking in. Very disappointing for a supposed "Premier" level BW. We've had much nicer and better experiences at regular BWs and BW Plus locations.The shame of it is that the hotel is actually beautiful, with old world grandeur and serious potential. A little bit of reno, a friendlier front desk and proper housekeeping would turn this into an awesome 4-star stay.The restaurant (Cafe on the Square) and really good food, but again the quality of service took down the experience a few notches. There was obvious unhappiness that for one breakfast we asked for a bit of a rush (we had 45 minutes to order, eat and leave) - the distaste was visible. We came back for lunch the following day as it was the most convenient place to eat in between our plans, and were greeted with a "are you in a rush again today?" comment -- maybe she meant it to be nice, but it came across as condescending.As others have mentioned, the ac is pretty loud -- but we didn't mind it. Also, the plugs on the lamps are very loose -- use the wall plugs if you need to charge your devices.Kudos to VaShawn from Laundry Services who did her best to make up for the missing housekeeping; and to John in the lobby who went above and beyond at all times to help with luggage, get taxis, offer help etc. He's a real gem

I booked a king suit and actually got a regular queen room, I asked for the manager to call me and I was never contacted. I was then over charged $366 and still waiting on management to call me. I will not be using this hotel again!

"Good place to stay"

We found this hotel to be convenient, only 4 books or so from the French Quarter & on the St. Charles streetcar line. It was clean & the staff was very friendly & helpful. Our room A/C was noisy at first but once the staff was alerted, it was taken care of quickly. The streetcar runs 24/7 & can be a bit noisy during the night when you are trying to sleep but you get used to it.

Checking in was quick and easy. Our room was great; very roomy and comfortable. Our exhaust fan didn't work in the bathroom, so it made for a very hot and humid showering experience, but wasn't anything to make us want to change rooms. The beds were very soft, so if you're used to a firmer mattress, it'll take some getting used to. They're comfortable no less, though! Location was perfect. It was far enough from Bourbon St., so you don't get that noise factor, but it's still close enough to walk or ride the street car that goes right by the hotel! We would definitely stay here again!

"Great location, not-great bed"

The Blake is a great spot in many ways if you'd like to be near downtown but a little removed from the noise and chaos of the French Quarter. Nice cafe in the lobby area, spacious rooms with high ceilings and good amenities, and located on St. Charles several blocks away from the more touristy areas. I also found the business center to be very helpful - I was able to print documents from my email with no trouble. The one significant issue was the bed, which was just not comfortable to me. The mattress was thin and overly firm, and I tossed and turned all night. Very disappointing in light of the many other positive features of the hotel.

This hotel was perfect for our trip! It was close to downtown and the French Quarter, making commuting a breeze. Zana checked us in and was more than welcoming and accommodating for our first trip to NOLA! She worked almost every night of our stay and greeted us every time we walked in the door! I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The staff was absolutely amazing. The room was stunning and the view was great. I even received a few text messages while I was in the quarter from the hotel making sure that we were having a good time and making sure there wasn't anything that they could do for me during my stay. "Clean, good value and near main areas"

The room was mainly clean. We found some hidden items from previous guests but overall it was clean. The hotel was in a good part of the city and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. It was a good hotel to stay at and walk to local attractions.

"Not Good"

was on a high floor leak in the ceiling in bathroom. Had someone to come look at it and said it was fix and was not at all. They said that where sorry and took off for one day of parking. We stated 3 days. Not happy with the hotel.

We were excited about the opportunity to stay at the Blake Hotel. The check-in process was easy and everything was fine until we arrived at our room. The room was dirty and poorly maintained. We found pubic hair in the tub and on the toilet, hair on the floor, mirrors were rusty, lights would not turn on, carpets were dirty, stained and not vacuumed. The bed, closet to the window, was missing supports and felt like the bed would fall to the ground. The bed was very unstable and unuseable. The bathroom mirror was rusted and the ceiling had chips of paint falling. We requested a crib for our 8 month baby and was supplied with a pack and play. We were ok with the pack and play however, this was also dirty. The sides were stained a brownish color and the bottom was nasty. I cleaned the bottom with a babywipe which turned black. After wiping it down a few times, we were able to get the bottom insert cleaned. We looked for a sheet but alas no sheet was brought for the pack and play. We thought no problem we will just use the extra blanket in the closet. We opened the blanket, which was stored in plastic, and there was several pieces of chips (they looked like Dorritos). We finally used the top sheet from one of the beds. The next day the “cleaning” person “cleaned” the room. Cleaned is the wrong word, she made the bed and took the dirty towels. We were given two new towels, three hand towels and no wash clothes. The dirty blanket was taken because it was left on the bathroom floor but was not replaced. The top sheet on the second bed was not replaced nor was an actual sheet for the pack and play provided. When asked we were told additional towels would be delievered but never were. We are completely horrified at our experience and would never recommend this hotel or chain to any friends or family. The staff nor management cared about the quality of the hotel or the guest experience.

"Get the royal treatment"

The Blake Hotel is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. They really seem to anticapte the needs of the residents and provide you with an abundance of amenities, before you have to ask. For those that like simple comforts, I found two luggage racks in a nice sized closet. That alone was worth the stay to me. The employees were very friendly and professional. Everything was clean, nice, and abundant. Because they value their residents, they made sure you have everything so you won't have to ask. There is valet parking, but I found on street parking was good too, and I could see my car from my room. There are probably so many more hidden treasures' about this hotel that could be found by asking; by the basics are taken care of exceedingly well..

Great Customer Service but Poor Air Condition, 86 degrees in our room in the middle of a heat wave! The staff tried to be accommodating and tried fixing the air conditioner however I think because the building is older (even though the look was remodeled) the air unit has not been updated in years!

"Better than expected"

I booked this hotel for its proximity to the Smoothie King Center for a concert as I thought we'd be walking. This was one of the cheapest without being too cheap. We had a nice second floor room (#213) with floor to ceiling windows along two walls. I loved the high ceilings! We truly were only in the room for an hour before the concert and an hour after waking up. The queen sized beds were actually big enough for two people to sleep in. I've been in some where the queen bed was more like a full size. The shower was okay but it took a very, very long time for the water to get hot. Yes, there may have been a few stains on the carpet or chips in the walls, but my home's not magazine perfect so those minor things don't bother me. The room and bath were clean and comfortable and served its purpose of bed and shower for one night well! The restaurant downstairs was delicious and our waiter was super nice!

"Power Outages and Other Issues"

I was a guest at the Hotel Blake New Orleans from Friday 7/20 until Monday 7/23. From the beginning I was disappointed in this hotel. On arrival the elevators were out of service so my friend and I were forced to walk up seven flights of stairs with our luggage. Upon inspection of the room (Room 704) there was a water leak in the ceiling directly over the room's carpeted hallway near the bathroom, therefore the carpet in this area was continuously wet. There are walls in the bathroom that appear unfinished, as if they are under construction. The bed mattress and linens were inferior quality and the pillows were under filled and uncomfortable to the point of uselessness. The room provided very few other amenities - no provided water, tea or coffee, for example. Not even a water glass or box of tissues. On Sunday the entire hotel was hit with a total power outage. Nothing electrical was powered during the outage: no elevator service, air conditioning, lights, etc. Again, my friend and I were forced to traverse the seven flights of stairs with our luggage. The power was apparently restored Sunday evening at approximately 5:00 PM, however my friend and I were never notified of the restoration and we were forced to make emergency alternative sleeping arrangements. I would like to file a claim to request a full refund for my purchase of this hotel stay. Can someone please assist?

Checked in Friday afternoon. Examine our room and noticed it hadn't been cleaned; dust was everywhere. I showered and we stopped by the front desk to inform them. The lack of concern from the front desk staff was astonishing. Today is Monday. Housekeeping finally showed up TODAY at 3p to see if we needed our room cleaned. On Sunday, power was out for over an hour.... no one said anything. What we did get was a horrible attitude from one of the staff members when we inquired about the outage.

This hotel was centrally located and an amazing value. It had everything we needed, clean and a comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff that were genuinely willing to help any way they could. They treated us like family. The hotel is older and has minor issues problem with the fridge and a lamp. Both issues were repaired within 30 minutes of the call to the front desk.

I definitely enjoyed the location from the Superdome to the Convention Center and French Quaters. The restaurant onsite had great food. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. My one criticism was the bathroom needed to be cleaner and more updated and the room for price we paid could have been larger.

Pros: Location and Price Cons: Where do I start? - The café that is attached was closed for plumbing issues - so no room service or bar available. I called to confirm my booking the day before we arrived. She confirmed that we would check in on Monday, the 9th of July and checkout on Thursday, the 12th of July over the phone. Well, Tuesday evening a lady came into our room. She was given a key to our hotel room and she was a guest. So, I called down to the front desk - I was told that the room was marked as I had checked out. I had to go downstairs with the email confirmation to get it all sorted out. My room wasn't cleaned at all Tuesday (trash not emptied, beds not made, and towels not exchanged out). So, basically - they were booking another guest into a dirty room. The internet/cable provider is Cox and it went out Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. - the cable still wasn't working when we checked out Thursday morning. There is a very limited "valet" parking area - a black Chevy Camaro was there all day Wednesday and back again when we checked out Thursday morning (I am guessing an employee didn't want to pay for parking their new car). The hotel is under renovations - we were on the 4th floor - it wasn't loud to us and we were right next to it. The room needed a good cleaning - carpets, walls, baseboards, and tile in the bathroom. There was not a plug for the tub - so only showers! FYI: Find your own parking - it will save you time and money in the long run - only one valet and he was running back and forth to get cars from a parking garage - the hotel charges $44.07 per night - they really should advertise on their website.

I don't know where all the good reviews are coming from, this was the worst customer service I've ever seen and they pass off the rooms as being 4 star, how the hell did they get more than 1 star, the floors were dirty, the comforter looked as if it has been washed in months, they are very rude and unprofessional.

We booked this room on a 3rd party website and didn't know what to expect. But after checking in and everyone at the front desk was pleasant and very professional. The room was really comfortable but a little small but the location is great. We were in the middle of everything. They also have a restaurant and the food is delicious. We loved the room and would stay there again when we return if they have a room. The front desk staff Johnathon and the waiter in the restaurant Kenneth was so knowledgeable about the city and gave us information of things to do. It is on the corner and you can people watch from the lobby.

The pictures of this hotel online are not an accurate representation of the hotel. Nice curb appeal and the lobby is beautiful. When I stepped on the elevator it all went downhill from there. Why are the hotel guests sharing an elevator with the service staff. Every time I got on the elevator I was crunched in a corner with mops and brooms in my face because the maids had to get in with their large maid carts. Next, my shower was broken. I had to report it twice before it was fixed. Then there were flies and mosquitoes in my room the whole time. There was paint peeling off of the door. There was saltine cracker wrapping on the floor when I checked in, so clearly the floor wasn't properly vacuumed. Lastly, the maid staff left a food tray with a pile of trash and half eaten food in the hallway in front of the elevator for nearly 2 days and it wasn't removed until I complained. The room was extremely small. I paid over $400 a night for this hotel and definitely was NOT worth it.

I was very satisfied with my room. It was clean, and very welcoming experience. Staff were very kind upon entrance, and got me quickly checked in and offer ideas for sight-seeing. Attached restaurant has great food and service. Over all place is centrally located with trolley right out front for ease of getting around.

The rooms are effordable and the staff are so friendly and happy to help! We had an amazing time! Our room was so clean and amazing i couldn't belive this was what we paid for! Queen sized beds which where incredibly comfy and the location was amazing! 20 minutes from everywhere by foot!

This hotel was fantastic! Great value and Great location. The location off of St. Charles Street and the street trolley was great and being on the corner of Poydras made it easy to get anywhere downtown. I also appreciated the doors were locked with a security guard at night to allow entrance. Overall I could not have asked for a better stay.

The employees were very friendly. The room was decent enough. The location is what makes this a great place. The streetcar line runs right in front of it. Parking can be pricey so I found a garage a few blocks away for 20 a night. Got a great rate on this room on Travelzoo.

Enjoyed our last minute stay at the Blake. The location is right on the St. Charles Street Car line which makes getting the Garden District so easy! Also only a couple block from the French Quarter which can connect you elsewhere in a snap. There's nothing opulent about this hotel, but is was properly appointed, the staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. My only negative feedback was that the air conditioning in our room needed better air diversion. The air blew right on the bed when it kicked in which was uncomfortable at times. Need the louvers adjusted! (I tried on my own, but to no avail)! For the money, a really good value.

The place is very well located. The washroom was borderline clean, just acceptable. The room I got was to the front of the hotel in a busy street, the blinders didnt close all the way and there was some traffic flash light every couple minutes that would invade the room. I didnt have much trouble sleeping, but if you are sensitive to this thing also noise, maybe they would have a better location than right in the front of the property. Staff was friendly, good cost benefit.

First of all...EXTREMELY nice accommodations and location. Blake Hotel management also provides customer service like you have never experienced before! There was a minor issue that I brought to management's attention after our WONDERFUL stay during a weekend trip to NOLA. The amount of concern shown by management and the efforts they made to assure my satisfaction were ASTOUNDING. They went far above and beyond to be absolutely certain that I was satisfied with the resolution of the tiny matter at hand. Good customer service is so hard to come by these days, but the management team at Blake Hotel sure know how to do it RIGHT!

Somewhat satisfied. Hotel had problems with the elevator not working. They had to reset it several times. Seemed like it wasn't a big deal for them but when you are on the 5th floor it is. Had to call for fresh towels, the beds were not made and the trash was not picked up.

We got to The Blake way before check in needing to get ready for our concert that started the same time as check in and they worked very hard to get us at least 1 of the 2 rooms we needed so we could use it to get dressed and made up!! They were super nice about it and made it happen within 10 minutes had us keys and headed up with all our luggage!! Anything we needed was readily available and the staff had friendly smiles and chipper tones In their voice. The rooms were clean, ac worked great for us that like it cold to sleep!!! Had a great stay and will return.

This hotel is exceptional, especially for the price we paid. The only real problem we has was that there was no window in our room, which came as kind of a shock since that wasnt advertised on the website. Felt like we were sleeping in a closet. But the room and staff were nice enough and the cafe downstairs was nice, albeit over priced. Would stay again, if for the price we paid this time.

We paid in advance months ahead or we would not have stayed here. Check in was good until we found out that valet parking was $44. Per day. Not option if you wanted your vehicle safe, since they had no parking. We go to our room and there is toilet paper in the toilet still, tub drain on side of tub, shower handle broken and the beds sounded like our RV beds. Place was noisy since trolley ran right beside the hotel. They texted me everyday and never responded to my texts about our dissatisfaction of the room. Then to beat all the maid stole a pack of cigarettes and not sure if there was anything else, but the cigarettes were left on desk! Will not stay there or anywhere else in New Orleans. It was nasty and toooo many beggars! This person cussed us out for not giving it a cigarette!

Hotel is only a short (less than 5 min) walk to the French Quarter. Immediately greeted by friendly staff at the front desk. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. We ate at the connecting restaurant for breakfast the first day, and lunch on the second day, their food is delicious! Not wanting to pay the hefty fee for valet parking with the hotel, we parked in a nearby self-parking lot a couple blocks away (not much cheaper for over night parking for two days, but we still saved money). I recommend reserving/prepaying for a parking spot online before coming to NOLA. We used ParkWhiz, it was pretty easy to use.

"Great Price and location but Horrible Parking"

Pros: Location: The hotel is located inches away from French Quarter. So if you plan to visit ACME oyster house or other amazing restaurant down the street, it's very convenient. Safety: The neighborhood is safe enough as I see patrol around the area a lot. Cons: Parking: The parking with a good price is very hard to find. Either pay 30+$ and park in the garage next to hotel overnight, or just find a good place to park then make your way to the hotel.

Nice hotel. Good location. The room was small however but clean. There is a cafe located in the hotel if you want to eat. But it is a bit pricey. Overall good and I could go back. It's in walking distance of bourbon st. About 15 minutes walk which is not bad.

However I had to call the hotel on my return as my husband left his iPod in the room . The person I spoke to said she would check and return my call or email me . She hasn't , and I can't seem to email them so I m hoping someone will read this and get back to me ASAP . Or I will have to make another call .

While in NOLA we stayed at this Best Western hotel. At first glance its clean, modern and appealing. While some commented that the rooms are small, I couldn't care less. The only thing about the room that bothered me was the dresser which the paint was peeling like mad. Good thing I didn't have a toddler traveling with me. The attached cafe is charming. My only other complaint was some of the staff was too engrossed in their smartphones that they didn't listen when you spoke to them and I can't stand repeating myself. Hopefully management will see this and retrain accordingly.

We recently visited New Orleans for the first time, along with some friends. Blake House was the hotel we chose to stay in for our first night. Upon the arrival of our friends, we stayed in two other hotels. I can confidently say-especially when comparing Blake House with other places we stayed-that we will recommend Blake House to others. The service was good and the accommodations were great!

Blake is a central located well-appointed Hotel with very friendly personnel. Our room was very well-spaced and equipped. Noteworthy amenities: docking-station for different devices, multi-fitting cell-phone-charger. We didn't need that this time, but it might be helpful in case: iron + ironing board, electric kettle empty fridge. The king-size bed was really, really comfortable, we had a good night's sleep. Bathroom was perfect. Modest remark: we'd better not received a knock on the door at 9AM to be remembered that check-out would be11AM. But because we slept so well, that's forgiven :-) Thank you for a great stay at your Hotel.

"Good Location Needs Improvement"

The location of the hotel was great and the price was amazing but the hotel needs some improvement in terms of comfort - the beds were horrible and we had a few bad encounters in the restauarant. I will say the housekeeping staff was incredibly nice & they kept the rooms super clean.

Other then a house keeper entering into our room at 10:30 PM and the one lock being broken it was a great hotel. Just won't stay there again because of the two problems indicated. It scared both of us ladies who were occupants of the room.

The hotel is very outdated in some areas. Our bathtub drained very slow so when we took showers we had to stand in water up past my ankles. The bed was not sturdy. Felt like something may have needed to be tightened.

This hotel was lovely. It was a short walk to the French Quarter, about 10 minutes. The room was very clean, and housekeeping did a great job keeping up with fresh towels. Everyone at the desk was polite and helpful. We stayed for 4 days, and got to experience the French Quarter, the Garden District, etc, without having to put up with the street noise in our hotel room.

Nice room, great bed, in a renovated hotel. Location was great. I was going to the convention center each day, using the shared bluebikes in NOLA. There is a hub right around the corner. With the bike, a five minute ride to the convention center. Also, the cafe on site serves great food. Best grits ever!

"Spring break"

The room is very small. The bathroom does not have a exhaust vent which turned it into a sauna while trying to get ready. The staff could not have been nicer. We stayed for 4 nights. I received 2 text messages from supervisors of the front desk asking how our stay was going and was there anything we needed which I thought was very nice. We had one problem with the AC I spoke to the front desk and it was fixed right away.

Great location! An easy walk to the French Quarter, the St. Charles streetcar was great to get to the Garden District. The Magazine Ave bus was terrific too for getting around. The Café At The Square serves wonderful breakfasts and lunch, great, friendly service, good choices, normal prices!

Very nice 4 day midweek stay at this centrally located hotel right on the St Charles Street Car line. Very clean, quiet. No free breakfast, but room is equipped with frig, microwave, coffee maker. Cafe located in bldg. Within walking distance to French quarter and street car accessible to Garden district. I'd stay here again!

If Location is your prime selling point, this is the hotel to stay. Everything else about this hotel in my opinion is average when it comes to the other attributes compared to other hotels. The location to Bourbon Street, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and the Smoothie King Center are amazing.

This was our first stay at the Blake, and we weren't disappointed. We like this part of town; it's on the border of the CBD and Warehouse/Arts District and within easy walking distance to the French Quarter, Fauborg Marigny and Garden District. Wonderful location on the corner of Poydras and St. Charles! Service was outstanding; we paid less than we EVER had at ANY hotel in NOLA, yet were treated with five-star service. They don't offer complimentary breakfast, but Rouse's Grocery is nearby, as are numerous restaurants and coffee shops. To our delight, the hotel restaurant (Cafe on the Square) was excellent and fairly priced. A winner! The room was comfortable enough but quite small. It included a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave which were great; however the layout was awkward. Not sure how it could have been arranged better, but we considered moving it as we were there a week. If someone was sitting at the table/desk, no one could get into the bathroom. It was a small issue considering the magnificent value we felt we got on this room.

The Blake Hotel New Orleans is a very good hotel. It's clean and professional and well situated. It's right on the St. Charles Avenue Street car line so you can get around easily and we went to see great live music at the Lafayette Park next door.

Convenient to public transportation, restaurant attached had friendly wait staff and quality food reasonably priced. Walking distance to many venues (Harrah's, WWII museum, parks and churches.) Only downside is adjusting to noise from streetcar at night.

I was looking for something out of the ordinary and I followed the instructions of the hotel on booking ... I am very easy going person and I am always looking for a new experience... so let me tell you the good things at least ... this hotel is well located and an easy walk to everything we wanted to visit ... we did drive to the plantations but that was our choice. The room was clean and we were quickly sent extra bedding when we asked. Check in was quick and easy. Now ... they are charging $44.07 a night for valet parking and from other reviews I understand it's off site which explains the 30 min wait for your car ... even when you call before you come down ... Also 1 time we got our car it smelled like pot so bad I was a little afraid he was actually smoking in it. My daughter convinced me it was just the guy driving that smelled that way. When I didn't get the discount I was promised by following directions of the person who answered the phone I was told he is new and that was repeated when I asked for a manager. The answer for the Blake is not to make it right or to even apologize that it's mis-leading it's simply to make an excuse but do nothing about it. I should have just stayed at the Omni and gotten points and even the parking wound have been cheaper ... and one block closer. Things to keep in mind.

I came to the Blake to walk the Rock n Roll New Orleans Marathon. The hotel is very comfortable, right next to the start line, less than a mile from the expo at the convention center, and less than a mile from the French Quarter. Outstanding value!

Perfect location for the RnR New Orleans race series. The staff, for the most part, was very courteous and responsive. We had an issue with the housekeeping staff, and I'm hopeful that my last communication with the hotel will receive a response. Overall, this hotel offered a great location to get some of that French Quarter feel with just a short walk, but with a much more palatable price.

The Blake is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location! The staff, especially the front desk ladies, were pleasant and efficient. The restaurant in the hotel has great food for breakfast, or a light meal later in the day. If you want to tour the city, hop on a trolley! The St. Charles line can be caught on the corner close to the hotel. Awesome time in NOLA!

Perfect for downtown if you enjoy the walk. Put in 12 miles going through Bourbon Street and the Warehouse District. Very enjoyable stay, the room was clean and comfortable. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for!

We stayed at the Blake for Mardi Gras. It was a great location for the parades, although a bit of a trip to the French Quarter. Not fancy, small, clean, spacious rooms, with a great little restaurant and bar, and a helpful and friendly staff. We were so happy with our choice. Would love to keep it our little secret for next year's Mardi Gras.

We went for Mardi Gras and although the place was a madhouse, the staff couldn't have been nicer. It's an old hotel so don't expect sparkly shiny bathrooms - but they are clean. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I'd recommend it.

The hotel is in a great spot for Mardi Gras parades as they pass right in front of the hotel. The lobby and common areas are clean and well maintained however the cleanliness of the room was another matter. I am not fussy, but I want clean sheets and bathroom when I arrive. The bathroom was recently used and the toilet was not even flushed. The sheets were clearly not changed prior to our arrival. The front desk did send someone right away to remedy the situation. All other aspects of our stay were very pleasant.

It is a nice clean place to stay. Our first issue was that we were not informed that there was no parking and our only option was a $44 vallet parking. I figured we would have to pay for parking since it is limited in New Orleans but dang.... One of the elevators was not working when we left for Bourbon St. and hours later we returned to neither of the elevators working. Thank goodness we were only on the 4th floor but having to take the stairs at midnight was not fun.

"Mardi Gras getaway"

I booked this overnight trip as a last minute trip during Mardi Gras because of the hotel location. Check in was fine. They did upgrade us to double beds and I only booked a single. However, the room was at the end of a hall next to the ice machine. The room had no window so we couldn't enjoy the sights. The toilet kept running so we had to turn off the water. We slept great after that. Its a perfect location for Mardi Gras but probably won't come back unless I get a guaranteed window.

We spend the Friday through Monday before Mardi Gras every year at the Blake. I always say they couldn't possibly do anything to improve our wonderful experience. The staff and hotel on a whole is a two thumbs up! Rooms were clean, beds were amazingly comfortable, and the location was perfect for our stay. We were a quick walk to Canal, Bourbon street, and Warehouse District. Staff was so kind always and very pleasant. Would definitely stay here again!

The area was convenient but away from the noise of the French Quarter. It is right on a main parade route though for Mardi Gras so that can cause some noise and traffic problems at that time of year. Otherwise, it is in a great spot.

The hotel has a very good localization, close to the French Quarter, there are lots of restaurants, bars, and cafes nearby. Rooms are comfortable and the service is good, but the internet is very unstable.

This hotel is more european than average US hotels. The rooms are smaller but adequate. If you're a plus size person you may want to look elsewhere. Parking is valet at $42.00. You can find parking on your own within 6 blocks for $20 a night. The onsite cafe has excellent breakfasts. If you're a light sleeper avoid street side rooms as the trolley runs by these rooms. Walking distance to the World War Two Museum.

This hotel was great. The location was the best for my husband and I. We stayed two days, but wanted to stay more. The customer service was absolutely amazing. Very clean hotel that smelled great. We were near everything. We did not move our truck until we checked out. There is also a nice little restaurant on the bottom floor that has awesome food & drinks.

wonderful people from the moment we drove up to the door. Loved checking in early and the professional valet service. Slept so well in the great bed, just wish I could have brought it home. Lake of fun bar downstairs but not a lack in near by French Quarter.

Was in a fairly good location for being outside the French quarter. I would recommend putting in a foot note for a higher level floor so that you are further away from the Not super well maintained, but I did enjoy the staff and the check in and check out was super speedy.

Extremely friendly, comfortable and convenient. Close to the French Quarter, World War 2 museum and main highway arteries. Not too far from the riverfront. The lobby is also very comfortable and inviting.

This hotel is the bomb, we have stayed at this place more than once. Great job Blake motel. The rooms were is casual walking distance to whatever you wanted to eat, and not to mention the outlet down the street on the river walk.

"GPS has to guess"

As with most downtown NOLA locations, parking and directions are a challenge, but the hotel is actually located on St Charles, not Poydros. Valet parking is expensive and your automobile is stored 6 blocks from hotel. The rooms and amenities were suitable, excluding the beds. They were "shaky" and uncomfortable. The location is very convenient for walking to nearby major sites and restaurants. I booked my room using hotelplanner then two days later booked my daughter's room directly through the hotel. Her room was much larger and nicer, and her rate was a few dollars less. So be weary of third party reservations, be prepared to turn on St Charles, and know that your vehicle will be parked a great distance from hotel if you choose to valet.

This updated hotel was a great value. The location was conveniently located to walk to the The Convention Center, Harrah's, the French Quarter, and the National Museum of WWII. Room was as nice and comfortable as much higher priced hotels. I am picky about my AC and loved that I could have the fan on constantly when I slept. Had one breakfast at the attached Cafe and it was very good.

The Blake Hotel was very nice to stay at. The room, lobby, and building were in great shape. The elevator was a bit shaky for my taste but never malfunctioned. While not in the French Quarter, it was less than a 10 min walk away. I had no issues walking to the French Quarter if I didn't feel like taking a Lyft. I would stay again if in the area.

easy 8-10min walk from the hotel to Canal St, Bourbon St and French Quarter, or a short cab/uber to many great restaurants over in the Magazine St. area. Friendly staff. Elevator is a bit sketchy. Handy to have a little bar downstairs.

Annual weekend getaway to New Orleans for the State Farm Classic High School Football playoffs. We always stay at the Blake Hotel because the rates are great. The staff is very nice. The rooms are always in tip top condition. The location is a nuetral spot to most of the attractions. We look forward to our stay each year in December.

I chose this hotel for its location. I will never stay here again. The room itself was adequate in size, it was very “tired”, though with walls that had been patched and not painted. I stayed here for 4 nights. After my first night I went out sightseeing for the day. When I returned, I realized that the bed in my room had been made, but no other cleaning had taken place and the coffee tray had not been replenished. I went to the front desk to get some coffee and mentioned this to the staff. They were great, said they would make a note to housekeeping. That night when I returned, same thing. I mentioned it again. It was only on my last night there that my concerns were addressed in a way that I felt heard. There are several other things I found inadequate about the room, too many to spell out.

This was a great hotel! The hotel was very clean and the service was amazing! It was close to everything. We never had to drive or Uber anywhere. Close to French Quarter and all entertainment. Starbucks is right across the street also, so that was an added bonus!

It would appear that to the front desk staff, New Years eve came as a surprise. The hotel was totally unprepared for the many guests waiting for a room. Even by 4:00 there were no rooms available that were ready. We were a party of seven, with pre-paid reservations for 3 rooms for 3 nights. We did arrive early (10:00 a.m.) and were prepared to wait for our rooms until the guaranteed check-in time of 4:00. However, it was 6:30 before everyone had a room. The front desk staff were unresponsive, and in one case, rude, Because of unusually cold weather, the lobby was freezing, but we were given no option but to sit there and wait. No one could offer any estimate of when a room might be clean and ready.

I decided to stay at the Blake Hotel because it was one of the cheapest hotels to stay in to bring in the New Year and go to the Sugar Bowl. It was near everything I needed/wanted to go to such as the stadium and Bourbon Street. When arriving at the hotel, this is when the issues started. My friends and I arrived at the hotel around 3:20 pm because we were scheduled to check-in at 4 pm but since we were early the room was not ready. That was understandable but they failed to mention that everyone in the lobby that were supposed to check-in at 4 pm or earlier rooms were not ready either. It was now 4:15 pm and they did not call us to tell us that our room was ready so my friend and I decided to see what the problem was. Turns out the rooms that everyone in the lobby were supposed to stay in were not clean yet and they were in the process of doing it so our check-in time got pushed back to later that night (didn't have a set time). So they decided to put our name on the list, which they should have done when we came in earlier to ask about our room. Since the manager noticed it was a problem she was nice enough to give us a discount because of the inconvenience. Our room was ready around 6:30 pm but just when I thought that was the end of our problems, others started to appear when we got to the room. The pillows were not properly placed on one of the beds, they were just thrown on the bed. No shower towels to properly dry off with only small and medium towels. We expected the room to be a tad bigger than what it was but it was barely any space for four people to move around or put all of our bags in there. Even though we had the do not disturb sign up until 2 pm, someone is still required to come clean the room and give us more towels. The room never got clean and we had to ask for more towels. Overall the room and service were poor and I believe it could have been handled better than it was since that was not the first time the Sugar Bowl was played in New Orleans. They should have been better prepared because of past experiences with a New Year's and Sugar Bowl crowd. The only good thing about our stay was how the manager handled the problem.

The good. Location is four blocks from the French Quarter. If you are looking to be close but not in middle of the madness, then it is a good area. The bad. The hotel should not be in any list that states it is Premier. We booked late for the New Year's celebration and this hotel had double beds. The room was large but that was it. The decor is vintage 90's . The bathroom is old and the heater did not work. The last night I had the heater on and the room temperature fell to 59 degrees. Also we had to depart on the first so I had asked if I valet was open early morning. I was told it was open 24/7. I called 30 minutes ahead and was told the car was on its way. Thirty minutes later no car; finally was told that the valet was third party and that the gate was broken. Nearly an hour to get the car. Had to race to the airport to make the flight. Again should not be listed as Premier. It is an expensive mediocre property. Sorry but wanted to make sure people new.

Stopped in NOLA for a night, great location. I'd most definitely stay if I came back to town. The only drawback is the price of the valet service, but it is what it is. Other than that we had a wonderful experience at the Blake!

I was an excellent location very nice restaurant attached. Modern looking place. TV better channels no sports ??. I could have been bigger or taller when you lie down it's hard to see. No venting in bathroom terrible. But, it was still cool . Beautiful view.

2 day trip was just right for us and we will be back to visit. This area we were in was perfect to park our car and walk to most of the area. Uber or Lyft recommended if time was important. Driving did not look like it was for out of towners. We will be back first week of January. Music shopping and the to go line at Cafe du Monde was awesome and worth the wait. Vegan eateries were great. Food was plenty and recommend variety dishes to at least try the rich food served. A little on the spicy side.

Tv didn't work. Key had to be rekeyed 3 Times. Thermostat didn't work. Sweated through the night although reported several times. No reported on daily agenda. Given vouchers for a drink voucher to restaurant not opened that night. Met with Carlos the check out morning and did a minimum compilation after a lack of sleep at 75 degrees which I text to staff. Need further info I will be glad to provide!

"Don't waste your money"

Very unprofessional! Had no knowledge of systems. Wouldn't allow me to check in. Luckily IT was around and advised them they could check me in. Upon arrival I was charged twice for the room. Once by booking site and hotel. Staff appreared to be very judgmental, looking at my family and I like we weren't good enough for your hotel. I wouldn't stay here ever again! I'd rather sleep on the street!!

"Conviniently located Hotel"

I book a room at the Blake Hotel for a conference in New Orleans. The Hotel is conveniently located. A printer can be used at the first floor, free of charge, very convenient when you need to print out shuttle tickets ! The room is also furnished with a microwave and since there is a supermarket not far of you can easily make a few meals there.

Overall I had a very good experience in this hotel. I did not give five stars because of negligence of house keeping. However, the hotel management did an excellent job to correct the negligence. Thank you to hotel management!

Check in was horrible. Girl was in training it seemed and the person who had all the answers was in the back and didn't find it important enough to come to the front and help the young lady. The young lady in the front was frustrated and was doing all she could.

stayed here and christmas parade was on this street. Good location with valet parking. Hop on hop off bus tour goes right by hotel so easy to get around to any location. Only negative was street car goes by hotel and starts early and keeps going until late but not really an issue

This a very nice hotel, located within easy walking distance of the the Riverwalk and the French Quarters. It is an older building that has been remodeled, but is maintained very nicely. The price is a little high, but the many positives counter that one negative. The staff is very friendly and make your stay special.

The Blake is in a great location. Walking distance to everything. The floors and bathrooms were clean (two things I can't stand being dirty). The bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.The only thing I wish was added was an included breakfast.

This hotel was very friendly and in a great location. The parade went by the hotel and was able to walk to the football and basketball game as well as to the French Market. No parking unless you use Valet

I love old hotels. I especially love them if they are in an old city. The Blake is a real treat. Our room had a great view with a wrap around window. We could here the street cars and saw a funeral (only in New Orleans) parade one evening. The staff was wonderful, and housekeeping was attentive. We will definitely be staying there again if we return. It is withing walking distance of everything we wanted to see and the St Charles street car stops right in front of the hotel. The restaurant was fairly priced and the food was really good. We ate there several meals . The real downside is there is nowhere to park. Even loading and unloading is a hassle. I will say that the valet did a great job of retrieving our car the 1 time we used it. If you are looking for an historic trip, stay at the Blake. You will be glad you did

Would definitely stay here again. Excellent location, within walking distance to French Quarter and other attractions. The food was also very good in the restaurant and actually better than some of the restaurants we visited.. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful.

"Temperature Issues"

1. Not having control of the room temperature was a huge disadvantage. On night 1, I called front desk at approximately 5:00 AM to report that my room was extremely cold, and requesting someone to look at my thermostat. I was told that only maintenance could address the issue, and there would be no one available to come take a look until 6 or 7 AM. At this point, I requested extra blankets, and front desk told me that they were understaffed and would not be able to send someone up to my room. 2. At approximately 6:30 AM no one had come to my room yet to address the temperature issue. I called to request a working iron because the iron in my room was not working. I left the room to go to my conference at around 7:30 and an iron had not been delivered yet. 3. At approximately 12:30 PM I came back to my room and the temperature was now uncomfortably hot. I called front desk 3 times before I got an answer. At that point, they sent up a maintenance man to address the issue. The maintenance man seemed irritated at my request and rudely asked what temperature I wanted in my room. 4. I responded to a text message sent by hotel staff reporting my issues. It took approximately 1.5 hours to get a response, at which point I had left the room to go back to my conference. 5. I came back to my room at approximately 10 PM and my room was now cold. I was unable to sleep, but I did not report the issues because hotel staff consistently failed to address my concerns. With the exception of the maintenance man, staff was cordial and pleasant, but failed to follow through in a timely manner. On the contrary, the maintenance man was rude to me on 2 occasions. Once in the hallway, when I made an initial request for him to fix the temperature, and he denied, and another time in my room when I requested blankets from him. He rudely told me to request them from front desk. I understand it may not have been something that he could address, but he could have handled the situation much better. 6. I received a text message saying management wanted to meet with me to address the issue, but there was no follow through on behalf of management. I was in town for a work conference and was unable to sleep both nights due to the room temperature. This had a severe impact on my work productivity. I think that the main issue was the room temperature, and that should have been disclosed on the website. I think all the other issues with staff and follow through (with the exception of the iron), could have been prevented.

I chose the Blake because it was near the WWII museum and other sites of interest. The staff were friendly at check-in and during my stay. I had to request the heat be turned on and it was taken care of promptly. There is no included breakfast as in many of this chain but it's still a good value and there is a restaurant on the first floor. The internet was fine and is included. My room included a working microwave and fridge. I would stay again if visiting NOLA.

Location was on point. Customer service was excellent . The bed was terrible it was very hard. Definitely need to upgrade your mattresses. The bathroom was very small. Air conditioning unit had to call maintenance for it to be hot had to call them for it to get cold. As a best western member I was surprised that they had no complimentary breakfast. A voucher for your members would be appreciated for breakfast in the nice little cafe down stairs. I was very baffled as well. How can your lobby entrance look better than your room presentation . you need to upgrade your rooms especially the beds people pay to sleep good not hard.

Located in a great spot and walking distance from sites, this hotel has a serious issue with the heating and cooling system. As one of multiple room guests, both of us had issues with too hot and too cold temperatures. System apparently is set on one or the other and there is no want to modify with out air technicians during working hours. 59 degrees was a little too cold for sleeping for the price I paid for the room....I might have been just as warm outside, sadly. This is the only big issue with this hotel from my recent stay

"Worst 2 nights"

So many issues. It was 80 degrees when I walked into the room. Air wasn't on. About setting it 65 degrees, it still didn't cool room. Maintenance had to fix it. The staff I encountered weren't very personable. One girl that worked the overnight shift at the front desk seemed a little lost and confused. I to repeat everything over and over for her to understand. I had to rooms. My rooms were on different floors than each other. The bed in my room was hard. Windows were disgusting. What was the icing on the cake, was when the day of my departure, I had the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. A little after 8am maintenance decided to knock on my door, announce himself, then proceed to enter my room. It woke me up and it's uncalled for. At checkout, front desk didn't even bother asking how my stay was. I will not be back to this hotel nor recommend it to anyone.

We booked this hotel as I have had excellent experiences with Best Western previously. Turned out to be an excellent location and within walking distance of most attractions we wanted to see. We stayed here after a cruise and after arriving too early to check in right away, the staff were more than happy to store our luggage for us. The lobby has some comfortable furniture to relax on while waiting on our room. The location is great and worthy of staying at if you don't mind walking a little. We were within walking distance of the French Quarter, aquarium, great restaurants, casino etc. I'd stay again

Stayed at the Blake for 5 days. Rooms need a bit or work but worked out fine. Outside and lobby were fine...room needs some touch up and a few things fixed. Staff friendly and the room was cleaned thoroughly each day. Restaurant on site was excellent, food excellent good portion. Great happy hr prices. Eat there if you are staying there prices fair compared to Franch quarter

This hotel is ok but there's plenty of other hotels that offer better customer service and nicer rooms. Parking is very expensive and late night checkin isnt effecient. Nothing terrible but I wouldn't return.

Visited New Orleans 2 times in the last 3 months and both times stayed at The Blake Hotel. First time was given a suite on the 11 floor- beautiful room. Just recently stayed in a smaller room but just as nice. Very quaint, classic decor with comfortable clean and well cooled rooms. Front desk staff was very accommodating to all of our needs. Breakfast had many healthy options and great service. This hotel is centrally located near the French Quarter but not to close to hear the noise and chaos. Very close to the street car as well. Walking neighborhood with many options for 4 Star dining experience. You will not be disappointed!

Great location. Streetcar stop right in front of the hotel, Bourbon Street in walking distance, World War II Museum ist very close. Bathrooms are clean, room a little outdated but ok fo our purpose. Breakfast very good!

Stayed early November 2017. The carpet was so old that it was shredding. It was cold but when I turned on heat, terrible old, fungal smell infused the room so I slept without heat. I had unwelcome neighbors in the form of cockroaches in the bathroom. I called reception who called housekeeping for this issue but I saw cockroaches again another night even after housekeeping did something to get rid of the bugs. Clearly there's problem of hygiene in the hotel. This hotel was close to the trolley and French quarter without being in it, so the quiet of the area was a plus. The computers in the lounge have free printing and basically unlimited access for guests of the hotel.

This hotel is well appointed and well located for most tourist attractions. It's a short walk to the RTA buses and streetcars. The room was a good size however the Air Con was very noisy and did not work in heating mode. The guest wifi was very unreliable as was the hot water and room service. We never used the cafe/restaurant but had a light breakfast in the room.

Top location for this medium size hotel. Friendly staff. Efficient front desk. Our guest room had good size. Not a single mirror in room. We observed hair particles and other residues in the room, on the carpet and in the bathroom, throughout our 4-day stay, obviously indicating deficient (or minimal-absent) cleaning by staff.

The next time you're headed to New Irkeans, check out the Blake Hotel. It's a wonderful hotel with its own local flavor - hip, but reliable, convenient for Business or Leisure, surprisingly good food, great bar and staff, all for an affordable price.

The hotel is okay and in a good area. Steps away from French Quarter and other great areas. The hotel can use a little fixing up but the staff was nice. We picked this hotel from Expedia. We actually stayed here twice for our trip. We checked in on a Wednesday and left Thursday and came back on Friday. On Wednesday we arrived and our room was dark so we tried the lamp and it did not work. Someone arrived and replaced the bulb. We arrived again on Friday and what do you know, same issue different room. This time the entire lamp needed to be replace. We did speak to a general manager on duty who happen to be at the front desk on Wednesday for the first light issue when we called to have it replaced. She apologize gave us her card and told us she would be there all weekend to call if we needed anything else. It was a minor issue but still an issue so we expected for the price we paid to stay there, $300.00 per night, that she would have at least offered us a Comp dinner in the hotel restaurant or something but nothing. No one likes to check into a hotel and instantly have to call the front desk for an issue no matter how minor. An apology does go a long way and we did appreciate that but when people are paying so much money it is always nice to feel like we are being compensated for our time if there is an issue. If it was just the one night I would have been okay but it happened again. Also this would have likely not been an issue at all but the rooms are so dark because they have no ceiling lights only two lamps to light the entire rooms. Overall I would stay here again as the hotel has potential. It would likely be for a girls trip and not somewhere to stay with your family.

traveled with my son to a fencing tournament this Halloween. The hotel is in a great location, near the aquarium, french quarter, near the river. The rooms were big enough and the beds were really comfy. Would absolutely stay there again. Staff was kind and helpful.

Although the rooms are a little small, it is a great place to stay for the price. The front desk help was very friendly and helpful. They are located close to the streetcar line so it is easy to get either to the French Quarter or the Garden District. Restaurant was very nice for breakfast. Bed was comfortable and room was clean.

"Nice Room, Noise Street"

Check in was timely, room was a great size, clean and comfortable. But! It is located on the streetcar line and next to a public park. Saturday morning there was a 5K run down the street and a live band started playing before 6:00AM! Therefore you could not sleep. When we got up Sunday morning I went to make coffee in the room coffee maker, no coffee. Clean up forgot to replenish the coffee, so I had to go downstairs and pick it up. Then it was 64 degrees in our room. We turned on the heat and got nothing but cold air. It continued to get colder in our room. We finally called and reported the problem and someone came up and went in the ceiling and did something and then we had heat, a little late, we were ready to check out.

Stayed at the Blake Hotel in New Orleans October 13-16, 2017. Was there for the Crescent City Blues Festival held at Lafayette Square, right across the street from the hotel. We booked six months in advance only to be told we would be given a room with queen beds instead of the king bed room we booked. The room had lamps that were faulty and there was not good place to plug in a cell phone charger. We stayed two nights and the cleaning staff did not come in after the first night except to pick up the tip we left. We had to ask for our room to be cleaned at the front desk.

"Comfortable smaller hotel in good location"

The Blake is located just a few blocks walk from Decatur Street, directly on the street car line. Friendly, helpful staff, well kept property. The room was small, but comfortable. Maid service, etc. was entirely unobtrusive. They have front/rear elevator doors, so all service spaces are separate from guest spaces but very discreet and convenient. There's a cafe on property, but of course it would be kinda silly to eat in the hotel unless for convenience, since the property straddles the French Quarter and the Warehouse District, so it is just a few blocks away from many award-winning restaurants and world-famous cafes. Overall, I had a really pleasant experience. (Remember: parking in New Orleans is really expensive, and this hotel is no exception-- $43 a day for safe, secure valet parking-- but. as IO mentioned, the property is directly on the St. Charles streetcar, and public transportation in the city is a breeze, so you don't really need to drive if you don't want.)

Nice Lobby, Restaurant, and Guest Rooms. Much money was spent in this renovation. Labor, however, in restoring the guest rooms and adjoining areas was sub par. It is a shame to see so much money spent,and sub standard labor tolerated in the renovation. Had it been monitored properly, it would be a terrific venue. The exterior glass in the guest rooms allowed potential for great views. However, the tinting on the windows was in poor condition and ruined the ability to enjoy the views. The electrical outlets in all of the lamps in my room would not allow a plugged item to make good contact. This restricted the locations for computer, etc. The staff was veriy good.

Comfortable room, convenient location, Amber provided excellent customer service. I will definitely return to this hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. The only negative was the cost for parking which was over forty dollars per night.

We stayed for 4 nights! The hotel is great! Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Location is great. No public parking for the hotel. Only valet for $. The a/c worked great!!!

"Great Location to french Quarter"

We stayed here pre cruise. I bought the deal on Groupon and it was worth it. We parked at Fulton Garage and it was a 15-20 min walk to the hotel. This hotel is about a 10 minute walk to French Quarter and Jackson Square. The hotel was older but it was clean. The beds were comfortable. There are refrigerators in the rooms which was helpful. You must walk down the street and eat at Mothers! The hotel has a small café but we did not eat there. This hotel is right on the St. Charles street car line. You can ride all day for $3 and we took it to the garden district and enjoyed the older homes (John Goodman and Sandra Bullock homes) and Lafayette Cemetery. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful! I loved them and they made this stay really good. Oh and please don't forget to have a warm cookie in the evening when you walk by the front desk :)
