    « Too many dogs »

There were too many dogs for my liking. When you walked down the hall on our floor there were at least 3 rooms that had dogs barking. At times you had to walk around the dogs in the lobby. Perhaps a seperate floor for people with dogs would work.

« Reasonably priced hotel in the garden district »

We usually stay in the French quarter or nearby but decided to try the garden district. We found this Best Western to be comfortable, clean, and in a great part of town. The price was a good value for this hotel Being mobility impaired I especially liked the on site secure complementary parking that made it easy for me to get to the hotel room. There are no rooms on the first floor, but the small old elevator was just fine for getting me, my scooter and the wife to our room on the second floor. The restaurant appeared to be a part of the hotel, Although collocated, it is a separate entity and serves Mexican food with some mexi seafood. It was good but we were looking to find seafood which was nearby, but too far for my situation. The complementary breakfast was very good at the hotel. One line of the city streetcar passes in front of the hotel and can transport you to other places or provide a means to just sit and view the old expensive houses. The hotel in fairly close to several tourist attractions such as the National World War 2 Museum. We enjoyed a quiet comfortable stay and can recommend this hotel

« A great location to see New Orleans at a relaxed AND quite pace »

The hotel is located about 10 to 15 minutes by trolley car to the French Quarter. Clean, comfortable, and friendly and accommodating staff. Great room and a nice free breakfast. Parking is free and in a secure location. Easy access to the mayor interstates.

« Very nice and convenient. »

We stayed here during a visit to NOLA. Were very pleased with staff, room, breakfast and location. Only a few steps to catch the streetcar so made it very easy to get around. Maybe a little older but felt very satisfied with the upkeep of it and the staff was friendly and very good customer service.

    « perfect with a little work »

Staff very pleasant and helpful, price was right, loved the front porch, right on the trolley line which took us to great househunting, great Mexican restaurant next door, convenient to everything we were doing

« amazing location and real New Orleans hospitality »

Superb value and great location, right on St. Charles Ave. Street car line, with easy access to french quarter and fairgrounds for jazzfest. Parking included which is often hard in this city and wonderful restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance. The breakfast spread was the best I have ever seen in a best western and there is a shady deck out front where you can eat. Dog friendly too! Rooms are big, hallways are wide and neighborhood is blessedly quiet.

    « no car needed »

We arrived on a busy Sat. night. But easy check in and quiet room. Trolley almost at you door; good restaurants within 3 or 4 short blocks, and friendly knowledgeable staff. Also easy to park the car in secure parking lot.

    « OK »

We came to and stayed here, as it was a hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the quarter. Also it was closer to Tulane, which we were visiting. We stayed 2 nights. The staff was very nice and accommodating over all. No complaints there. The room smelled like wet towels. It didn't seem clean. It wasn't cleaned at all after our first night. Beds not made, that was the main clue. We were out from 7:30AM to 5PM, plenty of time to clean the room and make the bed. And we went out again for dinner at 7 so I didn't see the point to say anything. Being the class of hotel, I wasn't going to fuss. The breakfast was what you expect at this hotel. Check out was easy. The price was right for what we needed. Next time I'll see if I can get in next door.

« Really Nice Place in a Great Location (and we got a great rate!) »

I associate Best Western with motels, but this is a hotel, and a nice one. Our room was great and very comfortable; the breakfast was actually wonderful (Greek yogurt! Fresh fruit! Good sausage!) The location was perfect-- Garden District, near a streetcar stop-- so easy to get back to at night. The staff was wonderful to us. There was a good safe place to park the car (which we didn't use) at no cost. For the price we got on our particular stay, I'm not sure you could beat it.

« Nice hotel but keep your valuables with you »

The staff was great and the hotel was nice, but a cleaning lady was caught on camera entering our room right after we went down to breakfast, not to clean but to take cash from my wallet. She entered our room and came out 1-2 minutes later. The manager was very helpful, but the employee was never questioned by management and continued to work. We later filed a police report but are not expecting any resolution. Just keep your valuables with you!

« St. Charles Inn Staff Make This Place Special »

General Manager Melissa, Front Desk staff Angela, Housekeeping Supervisor Lisa and Housekeeper Laverne were all exceptional. I have stayed in many, many Best Westerns and the staff of the St. Charles Inn was by far the most courteous and professional people I have encountered at a Best Western. I certainly do plan to return for a visit.

    4
« Away from the Fray »

Good garden district location up the St. Charles line from the cacophony of the French Quarter. Hop on the streetcar outside the hotel and you can access all the other areas of interest. I'd stay there again.

    4
« Good hotel in an convenient location for transport »

The Best Western hotel is good for the level of stars it is. It isn't a luxury hotel and some of the facilities could do with updating but overall the rooms are a good size and clean. The air con was strong but the room spelt a bit musty without it on. The breakfast is good for it being included the sweet potato chunks were nice and the variety in milk offered was good. The best thing is the street car stop is right across the road and the hotel offers change for it without any hassle.

    5
« A really nice pet friendly hotel! »

The Saint Charles is really a nice hotel that maintains some of the character of the graden district. Our room was clean and up to date with comfortable beds, AC and ample space to enjoy your stay. The hotel is very pet friendly with a pet friendly staff, especially the manager. The Saint Charles is on the trolley line and convenient to many restaurants within walking distance. There is private parking at the rear of the hotel. We had a great time and would recommend the Saint Charles.

    « 1st time in New Orleans »

We love staying at Best Western hotels but this one is very old and musty smelling and not really up to the modern standards of today. However we did feel safe and the secure gated parking was great. It is right on the street car line which made it relatively easy to go down to the French Quarter. Since we were only here one night while passing through driving cross country I can't say if it would have been any different if we had stayed longer. Thankfully I used points for my stay because I would have been very disappointed if I had paid the going rate of $275 a night. The breakfast was very good though and they did have some different things like bottles of juice instead of a dispenser so that made it easy to take along what you couldn't finish and they also had big cinnamon rolls and coffee syrups to make a gourmet cup of coffee which was also available 24 hours a day.

    5
    « Great hotel »

The staff at this hotel is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The room was great. It was big and had 2 sinks in separate locations - one in and one outside the bathroom. Great location right on the trolley line. Located in a beautiful area. Breakfast had a great selection. Much better than your typical options.

    5
    « Southern boogie »

We hopped on down here for several days and it may all criteria after a great vacation.. Clean room. Easy access to transportation. Good breakfast. Competent staff. Great restaurants surround you and a trolley/uber ride to debauchery. We like the cookies. Go there to find out. Cheers.

    5
« Place for wife to stay while I was in hospital »

They bent over backwards to meet all her/my needs while I was in the hospital. A little pricey but what do you expect in the Garden District during spring break. Parking is a nightmare around there but they even worked out something for my wife's and son's truck.

    3
« Good location, Older Room »

Based on the other really good reviews on Tripadvisor I booked a room here for my family. Maybe I expected more based on the reviews but our room was average at best. Its older. Bathroom was small. There was a separate sink and dressing area that helped. Our AC which is a window unit didn't work well and the bed was average. Its an expensive place to stay. The best part is the location.

    4
« Enjoyed Our Stay. Nice Hotel, Big Rooms, and Great Service »

We stayed here for two nights. The check-in clerk was very nice and helped us out quite a bit. The hotel was very clean and the room was decent size for the four of us. Water pressure was excellent. Our room had another sink separate from the bathroom, which I liked (so multiple people could get ready at the same time). The beds were very comfortable (so comfortable we almost overslept), The breakfast was decent; I especially like the sweet potato hash browns. They also always had cold water available throughout the day and night. The trolley goes right by the hotel, which was nice. We took the trolley from the French Quarter to the hotel; it only took about 20 minutes and $5 for the four of us. The only bummer was the parking lot was full, so I had to park in an overflow lot around the block. Did not appreciate that. I would stay here again.

    « Excellent Location »

The St. Charles Inn offers not only good service, breaksfast and great rooms. It has free parking and is on an optimum location. Park your car and forget it until you leave New Orleans. It is right on the Tolley Route as well as the Hop on Hop Off Bus. We can't say enough about this Hotel. The forecast one day was rain, they provided us with ponchos and umbrellas to make our visit easy. Breaksfast was good. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. I checked other hotels in the area and you can pay as much as $45 a day so having this gated parking lot available is invaluable.

« Great fun at early Mardi Gras stay »

This was my first time in New Orleans during early Mardi Gras. I wouldn't want to be here during actual Mardi Gras due to crowds, but the early parades were a ton of fun with enough party atmosphere for me. I got lucky and booked a stay here checking in on a Sunday with parades starting at 11am. I called hoping for early check in, but that wasn't meant to be. My backup plan was to park in the Touros garage around the corner from the hotel and take in the parades until I could check in. This went perfectly. I was able to walk to the hotel and check in and receive the gate clicker for parking. This way I knew exactly how to get to the hotel, since it's right on the parade path with road blocks/crowds. The parades were still going at 3pm and we had a lovely mix of watching from inside or on the patio outside. The only negatives for the room was the double size bed- a bit cramped, but I knew it was a double when booking and the shower temperature never got very hot. The sink did though, just like my stay in Orlando. They were also painting the chairs in breakfast area, so seating was limited, but not impossible. These were little nitpicks, but not enough to drop the rating. Room was very comfortable. Staff very friendly. King cake available in lobby during afternoons was a nice touch. Breakfast excellent and well staffed with the widest variety of choices at all the best westerns I stayed at during my roadtrip. Location is perfect for catching the street car and the free gated parking was a breeze to exit and return to even though I only left once during my 3 night stay. The street car was my main transportation.

« Great value and a great hotel »

Wonderful location. Great continental breakfast choices. Our front desk clerk, Angela, went above and beyond our expectations including a text making sure we were pleased with everything. Plenty of dining options nearby.

« Perfect hotel for a family trip! »

I was visiting New Orleans for the first time with my family and we decided to stay at the St. Charles Inn, which was a fabulous experience. The hotel is situated in a beautiful neighborhood, and is about a 15 min walk to the Lafayette Cemetery. Also nearby is Magazine Street where there are many restaurant options. Additionally, there is a streetcar right in front of the hotel which goes downtown, to the French Quarter. Other than the location, the room itself was very clean and had two sinks, which was useful. The hotel also offered breakfast that had a little something for everyone. Finally, the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even better. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to New Orleans.

    4
    « Nice »

It was extremely expensive for a very nice, simple room and hotel. I liked it, it was a nice experience, but I would try to find a different place next time because of the cost. I realize that I was in new Orleans, but that only means that in a tourist town prices are able to be charged higher. It doesn't mean that the hotel was of higher quality than in another community. All that the hotel had was a room and breakfast. A B&B would have been just as nice.

    5
« My Place in NOLA »

Pulled in at 11:00 p.m. and was greeted by my first name. Not that I was remembered, but, I was the last to check in. The important point was that my reservation was honored and not given away. The room was immaculate and the odor issue from the last stay was not present. It was scent neutral. The continental breakfast was good. lots of choices for beverages and just the perfect amount. Again, you don't expect a chef in the lobby. Gated parking lot. Great Mexican restaurant next door which we did not go to, but will on my next trip in April. A gem located on historic St. Charles Street in a historic building.

« Best hotel value in New Orleans »

This is the best all-around value in the city. Pros: -Large clean rooms with two sinks -Gated parking -Right on St. Charles and seconds from a trolly stop -Two miles from Tulane and Loyola -Next door to the best margarita in the city -A nicely stocked continental breakfast -Friendly staff

    5
    « Comfort and Convenience »

Everything we were looking for in a 3 night stay for New Year's weekend and the 2018 Sugar Bowl. Convenience by street car to the French Quarter and all other interests is an exceptional asset. Amenities of the hotel are very acceptable if not superlative. Central location in the very beautiful Garden District provides a feeling of relaxation and security not often found in a large city environment.

« Wonderful Stay! Would recommend. »

Clean, comfortable stay with friendly staff! Great shower and very comfortable bed. The key factor here, is the truly friendly staff. I spent two nights next door- counter staff was not pleasant at all. Courtesy goes along way in my book. Typical value would be within reason for area, but it was pretty costly being New Years Eve and college football time. So understandable. I would do it again.

« Fantastic place if you are visiting New Orleans »

The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was above average with fruit and yogurts. Staff were very friendly and helpful genuine interest in their guests, location is great with Tram stop very close direct to City Centre. Safe and gated parking area amazed me. Another thing about the location, St Charles Street is very wide with green space (for the trolley), trees, and historical homes in a nice neighborhood. I will definitely book this place again.

    « A perfect hotel! »

I can't say enough about this hotel. Everything about was absolutely perfect, and I highly recommend it! - Located in the heart of the Garden District, the hotel is just a few steps from the St. Charles streetcar line. - Everyone on the staff is cheerful and helpful. After checking in and during our stay, we received two text messages wanting to confirm that everything was perfect. - The rooms and hallways are huge and well appointed. - One of the better free hotel breakfasts.

« Great location, amazing staff, comfortable hotel! »

I came to NOLA to visit my daughter. It was a last minute trip, and I was traveling with a dog. I came across this hotel in my search. It allowed dogs, and had free parking. The reviews sounded good. They were accurate. There is a trolley that comes right in front of the hotel, and I believe the stop is not that far away. So many places in walking distance also, shops and restaurants. The room was large, the bed comfortable. The staff there was amazing - friendly, and helpful. I will stay at this hotel again.

    5
    « great stay »

we always stay at best western st charles new orleans it has the street car and a nice walk along roads. hotel has a great breakfast in my opinion-everything i like. you can have coffee anytime and sometimes cookies. beds are comfy and room is clean. they have their own parking lot which is locked. and people working at the hotel are nice.

« Very comfortable and reasonably priced hotel »

The Best Western is a very comfortable hotel, and very reasonably priced for the Garden District in New Orleans. My room was large, big comfortable king-sized bed. Room included a coffee maker. The only complaints: 1) The placement of the toilet and the bathroom counter behind it mean that when you put the toilet seat up it immediately falls back down. You have to hold it up while you use the toilet. 2) There are an unbelievable number of little glowing lights in the room at night - smoke detector, CO detector, very bright clock radio, microwave, air freshener, TV standby, plug for AC/Heat, and five little lights and the air temperature on the AC/Heat if you leave the cover open. Enough light to find your way to the bathroom without any nightlight. I covered the clock radio and microwave, but still!

« Great hotel in a great location. »

Very nice hotel in a great location for the Garden District. Very convenient to Magazine St. restaurants and shops, also a trolley stop right on St. Charles to ride down town or the French Quarter. Very nice quiet rooms with comfortable beds.

    « Best Hotel Ever »

It was amazing hotel the front desk laady was super nice and went beyound to make sure everything was done acurate, it was the best hotel in new orleans the parking was nice as well and very good lol. :)

    4
    « Great parking/quiet weeknight »

Street parking is limited to checking in, but once you do the free gated guest lot was convenient and made my choice for this hotel easy. Night staff was caring and wanted to make sure I was happy with my room. This is an older hotel, so don't expect it to be perfect. It could use a major upgrade, but for a comfortable and quiet weekday stay, I would recommend it.

    5
    « Customre »

I always enjoy my stays at BW hotels. I like this place, as a special place because I go there a lot. I love New Orleans, and I love that the people who work at this hotel take special measures to make it special. It is a special BW.

    5
« Great Place to Stay in New Orleans »

Small, quiet hotel conveniently located in Garden District. Walk out the front door and hop on the trolley to take you to the Business District, French Quarter, or Uptown. The hotel has sort of a European feel to it. Large rooms with a full bath plus an extra sink makes it nice for a couple trying to get ready in a hurry. There are several good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

    « My birthday getaway »

Tthe streets of New Orleans maybe on construction or filled with potholes, but best western plus Charles inn greeted us with opened arms. The housekeeper outside, on break, let my husband inside the gate. I went to see if we could check in early? Not a problem! Went back out to give hubby gate opener / parking pass and bought in our dogs. The manager ( owner ) was petting our dogs & very friendly she was. Our room was excellent, tv could be bigger but no big deal.

« Excellent for touring the city. »

The hotel was wonderful for tour and sightseeing. Parking was free and could get to your car to use it at ant time. The hotel was older but newer furnishings. The street trolley stops in front of the hotel making easy access and inexpensive to get around town. Located not far from all the shops on Magazine street, The Zoo and not far on the trolley from the French quarter.

    « Great value & location »

What's not to like? Well kept, professional staff, centrally located on the trolley route to all tourist spots. Most of all, it's in a safe, well lit area with secured parking. Hint; request [email protected]

« Overpriced less than pleasant stay »

The best parts about this hotel/room: Free on-site parking Free breakfast Second sink separate from bathroom Location relative to Magazine St and St Charles Ave After stepping out of the extremely small elevator (at least its only a 3-story hotel and stairs are easy to use) we entered our hotel room greeted first by practically walking into the sink with the awkward layout and then by an overwhelmingly musty mildewy moldy weird smell. I? cranked up the AC but after about 5 minutes, it shut off. The room had a creepy rooftop view - I? felt no need to ever look out the window. And the bathroom had an actual window that opened. Regardless, I? immediately called the front desk to request a new room beside of the smell. She only had the room directly next door available. It was the mirror image layout of the room we were in and had an identical malodorous effect. I?t was late and had been traveling since 4am so I? left it up to my traveling mate and she chose the second room because it felt less claustrophobic. Over 2 days, the smell never went away and I? kept the AC on high with the ceiling fan running. As for the beds - comfortable enough. I? found an odd stain on my comforter - like a blood stain maybe. I? left it turned down to be visible but of course was there the next day after housekeeping had been in. The amenities - as expected from a BW and nothing to write home about. Bring your own. There was mold in the bathroom. Cracks in the marble. Obvious water damage on the ceiling of the room. It was nice to have a real mini fridge in the room. The closet was awkwardly placed near the entrance and the doors didn't work well. The safe was not built into the wall, it was sitting on a block - completely easy enough to move out of room if a burglar chose. At 8am on a Saturday, my friend was able to try some breakfast and said it wasn't that great. I? got down 10 minutes after her and the coffee was so low, I? only got a half cup. At 8:10AM!! When I? complained again about the smell at checkout I? was told there was nothing she could do at checkout that I? needed to say something sooner if I'd wanted a % taken off. Forget about the fact that I? *did* day something upon entering our room the first day! Very unhappy. Was skeeved out the whole stay. Only stayed here because options were super slim for some reason that weekend. Next time that happens I'll stay outside the city in Metairie for a bigger, cleaner, cheaper room instead of getting ripped off again.

« How to become my place to stay in New Orleans »

For me- having a truly warm, friendly and helpful staff (and I mean everyone) a clean, spacious room with everything in working order including the faultless internet, safe well lit, gated and plentiful parking that couldn't be more convenient, a wonderful and varied free breakfast with long hours, a lovely terrace right on St. Charles Ave. a well kept property throughout, a fantastic location and all at a great rate is how. Oh yes-almost forgot- it's genuinely pet friendly.

    3
« Do not expect coffee one minute before 6:00 am »

The room was clean and sufficient for a one night stay. My big complaint is not having coffee in the lobby until 6:00 am. Yes I know I can make coffee in my room but there were two other people sleeping in my room and I could not turn the lights on without waking them up. The coffee pot was in a highly visible area of the room and I would have caused a big disturbance. I had to leave before everyone because I was catching a flight. I went down to the lobby a 5:20 am. There was a lady setting up for breakfast. I asked her about coffee and she told me in no uncertain terms would coffee be available before 6:00 am. I do mean she took her good old time, as slow as she could move to setup. Everything was in place and ready to go by 5:50 am. She was determined not to wheel the coffee out until 6:05 am. She came across as a mean, angry person. My suggestion to the hotel would be to make coffee available earlier than 6:00 am. I normally stay next door at the Hampton (they were booked) where coffee is available 24 hours and where the hotel staff goes out of their way to accommodate early risers who need to get out of the hotel early for flights or other business. Will not stay here again just because of the snooty lady working in the lobby. There are too many good places to stay in New Orleans. I will add three other people came down looking for coffee while I was waiting. One man started fixing his breakfast because like I said EVERYTHING was out except the coffee.

« Great location on Streetcar Line and free parking »

Clean, comfortable room with a king bed, and a second sink in another part of the room. Fridge, Microwave, Kuerig coffee maker, lighted make-up mirror, in-room safe, chair, and desk with chair. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Lots of choices for breakfast. Afternoon refreshments and Mexican restaurant right outside the front door. There is a small workout room and a business room with a computer and printer. FREE secure parking! Fabulously situated on the Streetcar line. The front desk staff, Angela, provided a walking tour map of the Garden District. Restaurant suggestions were provided by Ashley. Peaceful and convenient location

« Very nice except for lemon air freshener smell »

Great location, terrific staff, very comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Only problem was terrible lemon air freshener smell that permeated the whole place. Especially bad if you are sensitive to perfume and chemical smells. Also it was very expensive ($300 a night) - the prices were undoubtedly inflated due to Tulane homecoming and parents' weekend.

    5
    « Terrific! »

The staff is polite and accommodating. They take great care of you and your luggage. The room was very clean and the breakfast tasty. I'm a vegetarian so it was nice to see so many options. Its near the street car too so you can use that for cheap transportation.

    « Pleasant stay »

Chose this hotel for free parking, free breakfast, location, and good reviews! The trolley, right out front, takes you all the way to Canal St, bout 15 min trip. Be prepared to pay with cash for trolley. Hotel staff was very friendly, our room was clean and quiet, nothing fancy. Breakfast was great and parking easy! All kinds of construction going on around the area and half of Bourbon St is blocked off due to construction, fyi. The restaurant attached to hotel is good, Mexican. I would recommend this hotel!

    « great overnight stay »

we had a great experience with the hotel staff and our evening in new orleans. during the stay a parade passed by and we witness the fun from the front door. would definitely stay at this facility again.

« Pleasant stay in New Orleans »

The hotel was clean and situated right on the trolley line which made it very convenient. The staff could have been a little friendlier but they were not rude in any way. The trolley woke us up during the night since we had a room facing the front of the hotel. All in all we had a very pleasant stay.

« Never Had a More Pleasant Stay »

This was one of the most pleasant hotel stays of of a long life spent traveling to all fifty states and dozens of foreign countries. The location of the hotel is a bit removed from the Bourbon Street scene being on St. Charles Ave. in the Garden District. It is still convenient because of the streetcar running frequently downtown for a cheap fare. What was most outstanding was the staff. Everyone was helpful, starting with Ashley, the evening front desk receptionist, who signed us in, and running through the housekeeping staff. They made it special. Housekeepers never knocked on the door to disturb us but still seemed to keep everything in splendid order, I suppose by noticing when we were out and cleaning only then. The facilities were wonderful. A refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, well stocked with coffee, all worked. The breakfast was among the best I have seen in this country, and it varied somewhat everyday for the week we stayed. We were part of a group of elderly cousins having a reunion, and the staff all seemed to know who we were and solicited our opinions of places where we ate and visited. They also offered their own views of places they recommended. It felt as if we were offered a warm welcome during the entire stay.

« Quiet hotel on street car line »

Pleasant hotel away from the Vieux Carre, but an easy street car ride to visit. Lovely Garden District location. Loved the breakfast and goodies available all day. Easy chair and desk in room, plus 2 sink areas if sharing.

Just enjoyed our first 3 days/2 nights stay at Best Western New Orleans Garden District!! Rooms are homey, great sized, beds are very comfy. LOVED the ceilings fan!! Staff very friendly & nice breakfast included in cost. Free, easy parking.

    « Friendly comfortable hotel. »

This hotel is ideally situated outside of the centre of NOLA but with easy access to the downtown and the French quarter via the trolley. The hotel is in a lovely tree lined avenue near the garden district. There is a busy restaurant next door to the hotel but no noise could be heard

    « Very good value »

Good location. Nice ambience. Great value with nice hot breakfast, free, secure parking. Clean. Our king room was a good size. AC was a little loud but still no real issue. Nice staff. On Streetcar line for easy access to either French Quarter or Tulane.

Best place to stay, easy to get around New Orleans from this hotel. I stay here at lest 10 times a year on business and they always welcome me with a smile. Secure on site parking, Great restaurant and bar next to hotel along with many other amenities that you can walk to in 5 minutes or less.

    « UPTOWN NOLA »

Hotel blends into the "uptown landscape" experience of NewOrleans, easy access via streetcars to any St Charles St restaurants, bars, parks and sights. The icing on the cake was the excellent and experienced staff. Oh, did I mention DOG FRIENDLY!!

The hotel was very nice and clean. It was my boyfriend and I first time in New Orleans. The front desk was very helpful to us in where we needed to go. The breakfast was great!!!! Personally as a best western employee in Alabama I really enjoyed this one.

If you want a delightful place to stay while you are in New Orleans, you couldn't pick a clean, friendly, courtesy place then this best western! The beds are wonderful, along with great food bars! AAA+ rating!!

Had a wonderful stay at the Best Western on St Charles Street in New Orleans for annual Army buddies reunion. Would recommend to anyone. It is good location for trolley ride to anywhere you want to go

« Great value and caring staff »

This hotel is in a wonderful location, with easy trolley access to the French Quarter and downtown. It's value compared to other New Orleans hotels is outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable and to correct a glitch with the locking mechanism in our room.

    « A Great Place to Stay »

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. This hotel was located very close to the streetcar, which led you straight to the French Quarter. The included parking was definitely a perk as well. Breakfast was great, and our room was very clean. I definitely recommend this hotel.

« Quant hotel for the budget minded »

This was my first time staying at this hotel. There were many pros and a few cons. First the pros - the price was great and parking was FREE. Yes, you read that correctly. FREE. Very few hotels in New Orleans have free parking. The parking was also secured. Hotel staff were fantastic - all were very friendly and eager to please their guests. The location was terrific - on St.Charles Avenue. You could sit outside on the small patio and watch the streetcar go by. Great place for people watching too. Excellent Tex-Mex restaurant next door. The hotel is small, so not so many people that you get lost in the crowd. Breakfast was outstanding. Lots of choices for a small hotel. It was also quiet. I particularly liked the reading library loan option on my floor (2nd) and enjoyed a John Grisham novel while I was staying there. There were only a few cons - my room was musty and seemed damp. The elevator was broken while I was there, but the hotel staff did offer to carry my bags up and down. I'm planning another trip to NOLA in the near future and will go back to see if things have improved a bit.

« Right on the Streetcar Line! »

We loved our stay at the BW in the Garden District! It was right on the Streetcar Line which was really easy to get around on and fun! The free parking and breakfast were excellent as well. The hotel had a pleasant, frutiy smell to it. They had complimentary rain ponchos at the front desk along with a detailed map of the attractions of NOLA. Much appreciated.

    5
    « Great Location & Pet Friendly!! »

This is our "go-to-hotel" when we are in New Orleans! The location is very convenient whether you are visiting at the one of the universities or wanting to catch the streetcar down to the Quarter... This is a pet-friendly hotel and the employees are very accommodating and super friendly!

    3
« Great location, hotel average »

We were taking our daughter to college in New Orleans and stayed at this hotel. We were only 2 miles from the University and the location was great, with it being right on the streetcar line. The hotel is a bit dated and room was average with two very small double beds and standard décor. The drain in our bathroom was clogged and after reporting this to the front desk twice it was still not fixed. Overall, for the same cost you would be better off staying at the Hampton Inn right next door.

    5
    « Excellent »

Excellent Staff. Clean Rooms. Location is next to Superior Grill which makes it nice for a quick drink or food, also located on St Charles you can jump on the street car and hit the quarter within 5-10 min ride. Local bars and Restaurants in the area and close to Audubon Park. Secure parking.

« Really enjoyed our stay »

We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff are all so friendly, they always greeted us with a smile. They also texted us after we arrived to see if we needed anything and they responded promptly... Really cool that they can do that. The breakfast was good and was available till 10am which was good for us since we woke up late. I really liked the proximity to the trolley as that was how we got around mostly, only drove out of the gated parking lot a few times. Thanks BW Staff!

    « Best kept secret »

So fantastic that I would not want to share it with my friends, rather keep it my secret. That would not be rewarding their excellence so here is my recommendation. Best value in New Orleans. Great staff who need go above and beyond. The street car can be loud if you face the front but the trade off is a fantastic view. If you don't care about the view get a room facing the side street and get a little more sleep. I found the rumble of the trolley to add to the ambiance.

    « Excellent! »

Super staff, GREAT free breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m., good location to Loyola and Tulane yet still just a short uber ride to French Quarter. Restaurant next door has great steaks and TexMex. Free secure parking

    « Disappointed. »

Bugs in bed, musty smell, loud and inefficient air conditioning. Rooms are dark and in need of deep cleaning. Unfriendly staff. Dark alley way from parking lot to the back door of the hotel. The work out area was used as a storage room. The only thing going for this hotel was the free parking and location to the trolley.

    4
« If you come to the Big Easy with a dog, this place is perfect! »

The staff is very welcoming to both you and your dog. You are right on the streetcar line and there are plenty of safe neighborhoods around the hotel to walk your dog. I would highly recommend it. I am a local and stayed here during a house emergency for two weeks. They made a bad experience bearable until I could get back into my house. Thanks so much!

    « New Orleans »

I stay at this hotel when visiting the Children's Hospital for my son. Previously found this hotel when my daughter was a student at Loyola. It is in a great location when reaching both of these points for timed appointments. The hotel provides clean comfortable rooms and staff is informative about surrounding area. The hotel has parking which is a big plus in New Orleans. The trolley is in front of hotel for easy access to tourist points downtown.

« Great location Awesome Staff! »

We booked this room based on the good TripAdvisor reviews. The staff were all very helpful starting with our check in. A special thanks to Courtney who made us feel welcome the minute we walked in the door. But it didn't end there. We inquired about touring the mansions and while we were still talking about it, one of the staff printed out walking tour instructions. We took the trolley for several blocks and followed the printed guide. This was awesome as we saw groups of people huddled together listening to a guide, while we took the same tour at our own pace. The location of the hotel is perfect. You are not down in the busy congested area but hop on the trolley and you are on Bourbon street in just minutes. Everyone, and I mean everyone who worked at this hotel was cheerful, which helped make our stay awesome!

« Awesome place to stay in NOLA »

What a great place to stay. The hotel is really clean and the staff is very friendly. The location is perfect. There is a streetcar stop on both sides of the hotel and that makes traveling to the French Quarter a breeze. The restaurant located on the grounds is also a plus. We will definitely try to stay here in future visits to NOLA.

    4
    « Convenient location »

The streetcar runs right across the street from hotel. It's runs 24 hours and is the easiest way to get to all tourist attractions. You can purchase an all day pass for just 3.00 per person. Hotel is nice but room (double) was small but adequate. Would definitely stay here again

    5
« Short stay to visit the The National WWII Museum »

Room was nice, lots of pillows, nice tub, bathroom, lots of electrical outlets and USB charging ports. Bed was comfortable, our room had both an easy or arm chair and a desk chair, frig, microwave, and nice large screen TV Breakfast included scrambled eggs, sometimes sausage, usually a potato mix with meat, breads, cereals, milk, juice, waffles, and fruit from 6 til 10 AM. Coffee in the lobby all day as well as cold fruity water. From the lobby one can watch St Charles Street and watch the St Charles Street car pass by. A street car stop is only a few steps from the hotel front door. There is a small enclosed parking area behind the hotel. Many restaurants near by including Superior Grill that shares the building. Staff is most friendly and helpful. The elevator is rather small but it worked well. The luggage cart did fit in the elevator.

    « Excellent hotel! »

Clean room, great location, friendly staff, great breakfast, free parking. The room was well appointed with a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator. I will stay here again. Hotel smells "lemony". Highly recommend!

« Fantastic Place to Stay »

This hotel is located in a great place on St. Charles Street in the Garden District. It is a few steps out the front door to the streetcar, but we chose to use Uber each time we went to the French Quarter (less than $10) as it always took us right where we wanted. The hotel was immaculate and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were well equipped with nice furniture...beds were comfy. Two sinks (one inside bathroom and one outside). A great stay.

    « Could've Been a Five »

Pros: Great location- St. Charles street car outside the front door which makes it handy to get to French Quarter. Magazine St. shopping just blocks the other side. It is within the Garden District so that walking tour of the district can be done on your own. Quiet, residential surroundings. Free parking is why we chose this place because we came with a car and didn't want the parking fees at the FQ. Great staff. We were there during tropical storm Cindy and they had umbrellas to borrow as well as rain ponchos for free. Good breakfast. There is an attached Mexican Restaurant next door that if you're tired to venture out after a day of sightseeing, you don't have to go very far for food. We liked their toiletries. Cons: DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 218, which we were assigned to. It is dark and noisy since one of the building's A/C compressor is just outside the bathroom window. Because of the humidity, that was on most of the time. If you left the bathroom door open, it sounded like there was a truck outside. We made sure to keep the bathroom door closed and turned on our A/C to cover the other noise. There were only 4 tables for breakfast, although there were some outside the front porch but it was wet and humid outside. So you might have to wait. There wasn't much not to like. This could've been a five if the room wasn't noisy. I'll stay here again but would request to be assigned another room. PS, Rooms 201 and 202 may be noisy as well because of the compressors. You might want to ask about these rooms as well.

Great place to stay for both me and my dog. With park area both in front and to the side of the hotel, Fido was happy. With the great location, great breakfast, and great sleep, I was happy, also. Having a Mexican restaurant in the building made me feel at home.

    « A few faults »

Stayed here for 2 nights during our recent road trip. The car park is at the side of the hotel which you need a fob to open the gate. Once you park in the car park you enter the hotel via a rear door which is surrounded by bins and just doesn't make a great impression for guests. The car park is small with room for maybe 20 cars and it's first come first served so be warned. The front desk area and breakfast dining area is very small and it was cumbersome trying to negotiate the dining area with suitcases to reach the lift in the far corner. The front desk area could certainly do with a refurbishment as its very old and tired looking. The lift was quite loud and rickety and we even joked it seemed grumpy in the mornings as it took a big jump when it starts descending. We where allocated room 208 and while the room was ok the noise outside the windows certainly was not. We where directly facing the roof of the restaurant beside the hotel which meant that the air conditioning and ventilation units where literally outside our window. Just imagine 4 giant fan units going full tilt while your trying to sleep. Herself managed to sleep but I gave up at 4am and watched the TV instead. Thank god we where only staying for 2 nights. We where going to ask for a room change but looking at the geography of the building all the rooms either face the restaurant roof or the main St Charles Ave which was undergoing major roadworks at the moment so bottom line is if unless your deaf or you can sleep through a nuclear war I would advise staying somewhere else. The streetcar runs right outside the door which is handy for getting to downtown buts the streetcars are very old and slow. We even got stranded one night as the one in front of ours broke down and it blocked the whole network. This hotels location might just be the only thing going for it. We would defiantly avoid this hotel if we ever visit New Orleans again.

    « Location and Quality »

We recently spent 4 nights in this Best Western and we totally loved it! It is beautiful outside, had a free gated parking lot in back and an attractive lobby/breakfast spot. The room was amazingly clean, and it had a separate vanity/sink area as well as a full bathroom. Having 2 separate sinks was a treat! The view out back was not great, but we really didn't care! The staff was exceptionally helpful especially when we had to check in a bit early and then extend our stay because of Tropical Storm CIndy. The breakfast was very good except for some stale bagels and doughnuts. The yogurt and fresh fruit were great as well as the waffles and many toppings. They also offered free afternoon snacks like meat pies, brownies and soup. This is a top-notch, well-run mid-priced property that is right on the trolley line so its convenience makes it extra special. I will definitely return when I travel to New Orleans the next time!

« Great way to experience New Orleans »

Quaint historical property in the beautiful Garden District. Very friendly and helpful staff. They will take good care of you! The hop on/hop off train is nearby and can get you to wherever you need to go. Restaurants are also nearby and easy to walk to.

« Excellent location and nearby amenities »

We stayed here in May during a family visit. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The bed was also comfortable. A great feature is gated, free parking next to the hotel. The property is on St Charles and we were able to explore along the street car line in the boulevard. Decent breakfast with great coffee.

    5
    « Great stay! »

We chose this hotel based on location, price, good reviews and positive past experience with Best Western. The hotel is right on the street car line and offers free, secure parking. This worked out great since we were able to park our rental and use the street car for transportation to the French Quarter and Waterfront area that we visited. The hotel was clean and even though pet friendly there was no pet smell. The free breakfast offered hot and cold items: scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, waffle maker, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, individual juices, milk, coffee, etc. lots of choices to start the day. The room was clean. We had a king room, it was a good size with a small chair, large TV dresser, a large desk and a separate dressing area with sink vanity aside from bathroom. The bathroom was small but adequate. The bed was comfortable with lots of comfy pillows. It was very quiet. We slept so soundly! Only downside, no pool and with the hot humid days, it would have been nice to go for a late day swim. Instead we just went to our air conditioned room for relief from the heat! Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone looking for great stay without the big price tag.

    « Awesome stay »

Can't say enough good about this place. Great breakfast plus welcome snack. Wonderful room. Free parking! And easy access to downtown by way of the street trolley. Not to mention it is on a beautiful street.

    « Excellent Stay! »

Our last night in New Orleans we wanted it to be special. Having never stayed in the Garden District, we wanted a hotel accessible to the trolley and other attractions. We were very pleased with it's location. Easy on and off of the trolley and the staff were very pleasant from the moment we walked in until we checked out. The room was spacious and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. If you enjoy breakfast....this is the place to get your fuel for the morning...very nice selection of items. Close to the Lafayette Cemeteries, shopping, and glorious old homes that line the street! I would recommend the Best Western Plus St. Charles Inn to anyone looking to stay in New Orleans!

    5
    « Quiet stay »

This hotel is close to Tulane University. It is small and quiet with friendly staff. The breakfast in the morning has a little bit of everything and it is all fresh. The parking is free and in a gated lot.

    « Great Hotel & Great Location »

We booked this place because of free parking but it turned out to be the find of our trip. Angela at the front desk could not be more helpful. She checked us right in &, when asked, suggested a place for lunch. She told us where to catch the Street Car in either direction & how much it cost. We went west to the restaurant (great suggestion) then east to the last stop at Canal & Bourbon streets - right at the French Quarter - perfect. The women that were still cleaning were so nice & checked to make sure we had everything we needed. Every time we saw them, they always said 'hi'. Breakfast was fantastic - more than most included breakfasts. The secure private parking was fantastic - would highly recommend & we'd stay there again if we ever get back.

    « Great quiet location »

The hotel was in a great quiet location on St. Charles Ave. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was good. My favorite was the outside patio facing St. Charles Ave.

    « Quiet and Comfortable. »

We made a reservation here because they had parking available either behind the hotel or at a nearby parking garage without the French Quarter $25-35 charge for parking. A real plus since we had two cars and a u-haul. There is a trolley running 24 hours a day that stops almost in front of the hotel and goes down to the French Quarter. $1.25 one way or $3.00 for an all day pass. The room was clean and cozy, the beds were comfortable. It is an older building but well maintained. I liked the two sink areas, one outside the bathroom and one inside. No view out the windows. Cheaper than the French Quarter and none of the noise and extra charges. The breakfast buffet was adequate if not exciting. There is limited seating inside but a nice outside patio area. Steps up to the entrance. Not sure if handicap accessible.

    4
« Nice place, good value »

Stayed here for a family vacation to New Orleans. Parking in gated area included in room price. Good breakfast with inside and patio dining. Comfy rooms. It's a bit older so bathroom is small but rooms and bath are updated. Didn't give 5 stars because it had a musty smell when we arrived and the a/c was loud. Streetcar stop is nearby so we could leave the car in secure lot, paid no parking and went sight seeing.

    4
« Quiet Room with Nice Bed »

This hotel is in Uptown New Orleans, close to the Garden District. There is a different feel to the area from the usual French Quarter area hotels. There is a small gated parking lot in back. To get to the lobby, one must walk through a narrow alleyway. The lobby is definitely nothing special. There is a breakfast area, including some outside tables. Complimentary breakfast was above average. The elevator can barely fit 2 people, but there are only a few rooms on 3 floors. The room itself was nicely appointed. The mattress was very comfortable and the room was very quiet. The view from the room was of air-conditioners on the rooftop and the alley and pool of the hotel next door. The wifi kept dropping my I-Phone.

    4
    « Good Choice »

Finding anything in New Orleans that is affordable and not a dump is hard. The St Charles Inn is a great choice. It is right on the street car line that will take you into the French Quarter. Staff is very helpful, the breakfast was very good and the outdoor seating is beautiful.

    « Nice spot »

Stayed one night on a pick up run at Tulane. Good location, bed and staff, nice updated older hotel, lots of other reviews talk about that. Don't count on much of a workout room if you are looking for that (I wasn't). However I did have a couple of issues, we were put in what I can only assume was a handicapped room (rm 313) which almost always have decisions I do not understand. Shower head was mounted on a 3' long adjustable track that topped out at 5 1/2 feet - who loves having their shower hit them in the chin, I understand the need but get a longer track . The coffee maker was a Kuerig (nice!) but it was on top of a 5' high cabinet (handicapped friendly?) forcing me to get a chair to stand on to use it. Petty maybe annoying. One night, I dealt with it, longer stay I would have asked for a room change. The WiFi is a joke, slow, dropped us at night and early morning, quit trying after 15 minutes. The rooms have the older racketty built-in A/C units under the windows and our was on the loud side, bothered me more than my daughter. Parking is included in the rear in a gated lot which I loved but when we got back after dinner at 10:00 there were no spots. I had to run in and they moved a car for me somehow. Not sure if there is a limit to parkers but thought I would mention it. Bottom line - clean, good location, not fancy and reasonable price (for NOLA location). I would stay again but don't consider it 5 star.

    « Great place! »

Wonderful old world charm. Trolley's run right in front. Great running path in greenway between trolley paths. Easily get in more than 10 miles if you were so inclined. WONDERFUL staff. Great experience away from the normal touristy section - you get to soak up more of the laid back style of NOLA - Take the trolley to the French Quarter - or walk to lots of restaurants, etc.

« Great Garden District Option »

Our room was comfortable and well-appointed - the perfect oasis after visiting Tulane and seeing New Orleans. The staff were very nice and helpful. Only caution is that you hear the street car in rooms that face the street. Was not a problem for us - but might be for some.

« Great location. Friendly and helpful staff »

great location on a beautiful, tree lined street. The front patio is a beautiful spot to have breakfast or a quiet evening. The trolley stop is right across the street. They run frequently so getting to the French Quarter is easy. Most of the staff are very nice and helpful. Courtney, front desk, was a really great guy. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Great value!! »

This hotel is an excellent value, especially with the free parking and excellent breakfasts. The room was clean and stylish, the staff was friendly and responsive. We also loved that it was in an old building, but had the comfort of a trusted hotel chain. The attached Mexican restaurant was also very good. Finally, the easy access to the city's street car system was fantastic and made is easy to stay just outside the touristy French Quarter. PS. we didn't use this, but we noticed that they were pet friendly, which we thought was great.

« Nice two night stay »

This place was very neat and clean. Staff was very very friendly. There was a restaurant next door with reasonable prices. Breakfast was ok. Location was good especially if you wanted to use public transportation, trolley was right outside the hotel. Only one problem but not the hotels fault, my wife has a scooter, and the sidewalks were terrible. Certainly not handicap accessable

« Great overnight stay in NOLA »

So enjoyed our stat at this BW in NOLA! Staff was great and loved the iced water and warm cookies that were offered when we checked in. Our room was quite comfortable with 2 separate sink/dressing areas. Also loved the fact that the St. Charles streetcar stopped in front of the hotel. It dropped us off at Tulane/Loyola and on Canal Street.

    5
    « Amazing »

Incredible staff and it's right next to the streetcar line. It's convenient but does get noisy because it runs 24/7 so if you're a light sleeper ask for one of the rooms further back. The breakfast in the morning was great, and the staff was definitely the reason I'm going to go back.

    5
« Best value in NOLA »

Checked in early, got one of 23 spots of FREE hotel parking on St. Charles Ave. (hotels in French District charge an additional $40-50/day). Also got a good multi-night rate for four nights. We walked around the Garden District, to and from Audobon Park, along Magazine Street. We took the streetcar into the French District, luckily with fewer disruptions than usual (much road construction going on). This hotel was great! ours was a smaller room compared to other BW hotels, but it had two sinks, and a VERY comfortable bed. I'm glad we didn't believe the negative reviews for this hotel.

    « Never a problem »

I have stayed in this hotel twice due to having to go to hospitals in NOLA. I am so glad I found this place. They are so nice and very attentive to your needs. They offer a great room special if you are in NOLA due to medical needs. The rooms are very clean and it is in a nice part of town. I feel very safe when I stay here, and they have fenced in parking that is free. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is having a short stay in NOLA for business or medical needs. The beds were comfortable as well and the rooms were also spacious.

My favorite hotel in NOLA due to great staff and location. The rooms are very good, beds comfortable. Wonderful walking area. Breakfast is only adequate offering, but it's free and better than most free breakfast offerings. Parking in rear is great.

We stayed here for two nights with our dog. Courtney and the other staff members were very welcoming to us and our dog Barney. The room had a sink in the main bathroom and another area with a sink so two people can get ready at the same time. A free breakfast is offered. You can pick up the Saint Charles street car a short distance away for an easy ride to Canal Street. There are good restaurants within walking distance among the beautiful homes in the Garden District. We would stay here again. Another fun time in the Big Easy.

    « Great stay! »

My husband & I had a wonderful time at this motel over the Thanksgiving holiday. The location is perfect & we loved having drinks & snacks at the Superior Grill next door. The bed was super comfy with lots of pillows & the shower had good, strong water pressure. It was nice having two separate sink areas and a microwave & refrigerator. Best of all was the excellent housekeeping--everything was sparkling clean. And, last but not least, we were most impressed with Kathleen, the front desk clerk. She always had a friendly smile & seemed truly interested in our comfort & wellbeing. This inn will definitely be our home away from home on our future trips to NOLA!

This is our 6th year for visiting New Orleans for Thanksgiving. We love staying here right on the streetcar line and close proximity to everything NOLA. The staff is fabulous and many have been here all the time we have, like Melissa (the gm) , Lisa and Kathleen just to name a few. Great place. Great people.

Location, Location, Location! This hotel is convenient to the Universities, Touro Hospital and Audubon Park and Zoo. The French Quarter and Canal Street are a short streetcar ride away. You can walk to Fresh Market and pick up whatever you need for food in your room. AND this is a pet-friendly hotel. AND there is free parking. AND they are on the parade route. We stayed here with my 88 year old mom, daughter, son-in-law- and two grandchildren from Minnesota and had a wonderful time. You can't beat the value and convenience!

« Great location by Trolley line »

The location was top notch. Right on St. Charles and the Trolley line. Though the Trollies have no set time and we had some long waits. Very Friendly staff. Very nice breakfast included with the room which really increased the value. The room was well appointed and very clean, however a hair blower was missing. Usually they are mounted on the wall. Air was ice cold. Negative: The room had a strange masking odor. Not perfume, but something that was or may have been sprayed to neutralize an odor. I did notice severe marijuana odors emanating from 2 rooms on my floor which I understand is very hard to control as people can do just about anything behind closed doors. Perhaps this was our odor's purpose? Would stay again.

    « A great value, a comfortable stay »

I had to come to New Orleans for a quick trip, and this hotel was recommended to me by a friend who placed it near the location where my business took me. The location itself was gorgeous, right in the Garden District. The trolley goes up and down St. Charles Avenue, and beautiful homes-- no! Mansions!-- lined the tree-laden street. I loved seeing joggers running in the morning. It's only about half a mile from Audobon Park, Loyola, and Tulane. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were accommodating and friendly. Literally everyone I encountered asked me if I needed anything, how my stay was going, etc. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast in the morning was diverse and plentiful. The only downside was that I did hear the trolley late at night a few times, but it was not that big of a deal. I would definitely stay here again.

« First Time, Every Time »

This is an old hotel that has a rich history in the Garden District. It has been very well taken care of and modernized quite a bit but still retains the quaintness of the place. Our room was a nice size and included all the amenities such as internet, microwave, refrigerator, etc. It had a huge bed that was very comfortable and more pillows than you could want. Everything was very clean and there was two sinks and lots of towels. On our second day there we had a problem with the tv not connecting to the cable. I called the desk and in no time they had housekeeping up to look at it. When he realized he couldn't fix it he called maintenance who came right away. He said he was going to have to attach a new line. We told him no problem as we were leaving for lunch. When we got back it was fixed. Parking is a problem in New Orleans so that is one reason we chose this hotel. There is a secure, fenced-in lot attached to the hotel and we were given a gate remote to use. However, for us there was not a lot of reason the use our car. The trolley picked us up a block from the hotel and took us on a wonderful 20 minute ride right down to Canal Street for our sightseeing, then brought us back. My husband had been to New Orleans before but this was my first time. We will definitely be staying in this hotel the next time we visit.

« Laid back and comfortable -- full of Southern charm »

We picked this hotel because of the proximity to the trolley system -- ever so glad we did. We were greeted warmly. The staff was extremely helpful in recommending places to eat and activities to do. Breakfast is plentiful -- was very surprised at the sausage and sweet potato casserole - extremely tasty.

    « GREAT Choice!! »

The staff was soooo friendly and helpful! It really does make all the difference. We loved the location in the Garden District surrounded by beautiful New Orleans style homes and away from all the noise of the French Quarter. The trolley was just out the front door so it was easy to get around. Breakfast was unusually good with a very nice assortment and they even had grab-and-go bags for guests in a hurry. Make-your-own waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereals, juice, fruit, yogurt........ The beds was really comfortable and there were lots of extra pillows. Nice bathroom toiletries including mouthwash in addition to the basics. We had a refrigerator and microwave plus coffee maker and supplies. There was even a ceiling fan! There was an outdoor terrace for breakfast if you preferred and next door was a very good Mexican restaurant with excellent margaritas! Free parking - which is a true luxury in NOLA. I was so pleased with my choice and I definitely recommend the hotel.

1st time staying at a Best Western Plus. Excellent service, room was comfortable & beautiful, very clean, delicious breakfast every morning! Employees were so outstanding!! « Compact but complete »

This hotel is in the Garden District of New Orleans right across the street from a large hospital and many medical buildings. So parking is tight and the area a bit crowded. But the hotel had it all. It was a bit on the "compact" side but neat, clean and modern. We received a "clicker" to allow the gate to open to get into the parking lot. Once all clickers are given out, that means there are no more spots in the lot so overflow has to park across the street in the municipal lot. However, the hotel validates your parking ticket and there is no charge to you. To enter the hotel from the gated parking lot, you must walk up a short narrow alley, but once you enter the building, you are in a carpeted hallway leading to a well stocked lobby. The lobby can also be accessed from the front of the building off the main street. Coffee, fruity water and oranges are out all day along with cookies in the evening. Plenty of seating is available in the lobby with a large book of restaurant menus as well as things to do. The room was small, but, again, complete. We had 2 beds, a full bathroom, desk, all the things you expect and all neat and clean. The trolly stop was right across the street so getting into the downtown area was easy, and the only way to go as traffic and parking downtown isn't easy. Breakfast was well stocked with the usual breakfast items, muffins, toast, pastry, cereal and fruit in addition to eggs and sausage. It was a perfect, convenient place to stay.

« Awesome hotel and people »

Like Best Western hotels and choose this hotel because it offered free parking and was on the St Charles street car line. Hotel is charming and the staff was so very friendly. Rooms were clean, spacious and breakfast was good. Beds were very comfortable. Loved that there were tables and chairs so we could sit outside. The garden district is so quiet compared to French Quarter. Loved the area and will be back to stay here again. Restaurant next door, Fresh Market and the Grocery right up the street. A few blocks to Magazine St. The staff could not have been friendlier. Loved talking with all of them. After staying in the French Quarter and here, this will be my first choice from now on. Can't wait to to go back.

    « Trip with Dad »

Chose this Hotel because it was close to the streetcar line and the safe free parking. When we arrived the parking lot was full so they directed us to a parking garage a block away which was also secure. They validated the ticket at breakfast time and I was able to move my car then. No problems. Staff was very friendly, rooms where nice could have been cleaned a little better (dust on ceilings and a bit of grime on the bathroom wall). Otherwise a good stay. And will be back again.

Booked this hotel as stayed in one in St.Augustine and loved it. Also was pleased the hotel offered free parking and free breakfast. The breakfast was lovely and had a great choice and also breakfast to go if needed. The staff were very nice and Christopher was brilliant with telling us about the area and restaurants. The room was very clean and accommodating, with a microwave and fridge and nice bathroom amenities. We left our car in the car park and caught the tram/trolley bus which stopped outside the hotel and was $3 for a 24 hour pass and you could also jump off different trams. You could hear the trams in our hotel room but it did not bother us. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again if visting New Orleans again.

« Love New Orleans! Love St Charles Inn! »

What a cool place this is...first timers in New Orleans and couldnt of picked a better place than this...all day coffee in reception, lovely brekkies & wonderful helpful ladies on reception. Although it is a wee ways away from Bourbon Street you just have to go over the road and jump on a tram ($3 for 24 hours) and go into Canal Street, thats the way to do it, Very nostalgic and we loved it. Quirky comfy room, although I found the tray & nick knacks on the bed abit of a pain....good food next door at the mexican restaurant..infact good food everywhere. Another thing I particulary loved was sitting outside looking at the beads on the power lines and trees and always one particular man in the evenings would serenade us on his sax. I wouldnt stay anywhere else but here in New Orleans.

It is conveniently located and provided great customer service. Nice and comfortable room. It was easy to get around because the street car runs right in front of the hotel. The breakfast is included in the price and it is a great breakfast. A nice variety of food items to choose from and everything was fresh and tasty.

    « Great spot in N.O. »

Spent two nights here and found it to be very nice. We arrived late in the evening and were met by a very helpful young man. He tried very hard to make sure we felt at home and gave some great recommendations for dinner etc. There is room for two cars to park in front while unloading. The parking is in the rear behind a locked gate and is safe and secure. The neighborhood is on the streetcar line just past the garden district. It seems relatively safe. The elevator is small ! Not much that can be done about that... The room we had was a king room and had plenty of room. The bathroom is small, but there is a second sink / dressing area in the room. We were on a corner room with two windows overlooking St.Charles street. That was nice to watch the street cars go buy. Warning- the walls are thin on the outside you will hear the streetcars all night. We were directly over the restaurant too and could hear it as well. But, I turned on the fan on the A.C. Unit and fixed the noise with some with noise so, no big deal for us. We did not hear other guests. The bed was nice and comfortable, plenty of pillows, sheets, etc. the room was certainly clean and neat. The frig was a bonus. The TV had plenty of channels and was a larger flat screen. The water in the shower was hot. Good pressure. The hotel has a good hot breakfast. Plenty of choices. There is a small room to eat in or you can eat on the front deck area outside. This is a nice area to sit. The building is old, but well maintained. The weight room was not great, but not bad either. I chose to run along the streetcar line vs. using the weight room. If you are a jogger, runner or walker this is a grand idea. The street car stops at the intersection in front of the hotel. $3.00 to ride 24 hours is a good idea. We did a lot of walking, but it was nice to have the car. There are several restaurants in close proximity. I would return here. The price is a tad high but worth it in my opinion.

    « Uptown Jewel »

Conveniently located on St. Charles Ave with a welcoming staff and more than adequate accommodations. Pet friendly is a super bonus with complimentary dog biscuits at the front counter. This hotel is within walking distance of numerous places to dine and the hotel staff love to make recommendations. The cable car line in front of the hotel enables easy access from Uptown to the French Quarter.

    « NOLA vacation »

Enjoyed my stay in NOLA and booked the BW on St. Charles. This is perfect for those who want to stay away from the busy French Quarter but can opt to easily hop on the trolley and go to many points of interest. Our room was quiet and had free parking at the hotel. The breakfast was better than the usual continental layout as well.

    « Very Good Place! »

This place is about 2 miles away from French Quarter. It is located on Saint Charles Avenue, where the Streetcar is directly in front and you can get a day ticket for just 6$ for 2 persons. The Hotel is excellent, the staff is very friendly, very good breakfast and clean and nice rooms. This hotel is top!

    « Managers are awesome! »

We haven't even stayed yet and love it already! We originally booked through a travel website for a ridiculously low rate but had to change dates. That company couldn't honor the same rate for the new dates, but the Best Western St. Charles Inn did! Kathleen and Melissa are awesome!!!

    « What a great hotel! »

We just spent one night on our way from Orlando to Austin. The front desk guy was so nice! He even called around to check closing times on nearby restaurants! We walked to Delachaise gastro pub and had an amazing meal! Our room was spacious with an extra sink /dressing area and the bathroom and towels and toiletries were great! And they even had a great free breakfast served until 10:00! Would highly recommend and we will stay there again!

« Great hotel, great location for visiting NOLA »

We wanted a hotel with free parking from where we could get easily into central New Orleans and this fitted the bill. The hotel is spacious and clean and the breakfast offerings are very varied and good quality products. The hotel staff are friendly, knowledgable about NOLA and professional. They easily accommodated our request to add an extra night to our stay, once wed experienced the delights of the hotel for one night. There is fruit infused water available all the time in the lobby. There's a great selection of toiletries provided and the shower is powerful and there's lots of hot water. It's a short walk to the car stop to get to downtown. There are also a lot of good places to eat round about the hotel, within a mile. We ate on Magazine St two nights running where there is a large choice of restaurants. I would return here if I ever visit New Orleans again. The garden district is a perfect location, IMHO. Only 4 stars (really it should be 4.5 stars) cos there was a lot of mix up with our keys, but that might be due to our changing the dates of our stay and it was quickly and easily resolved. Stay here if you want a good hotel, good value for money and an good spot for exploring New Orleans.

I love this hotel! Clean, friendly and in a great location. Having the bathroom and another separate dressing area is a definite plus when two people are trying to get ready. I will stay here every time I'm in New Orleans!

    « Pleasant for a short trip »

The surrounding area does not appear safe. However, the actual street the hotel was on was pleasant and in the Garden district. Parking was gated, which was nice. It's also easy to catch a streetcar outside the hotel. It runs every 10 minutes. It was about a 25 minute street car ride. It took about 10 minutes to get to Canal and Burbon street area in our persona vehicle. The beds were comfortable, but were small (full size I believe). We were able fit 2 adults and 2 children in the room. The decor was nice and the lobby was average. We found clothes that were left behind in one of the drawers. The room was fairly clean. The whole hotel smelled like cleaning solution. We stayed one night and did not spend alot of time in our room. It was good for the price. There's also a simple restaurant and bar next door.

« Nice Clean, Very Hospitible, Private Gated Parking and Trolley Stops Right In Front »

We felt this hotel was perfect for taking the trolley to every location. Clean, Comfortable Bed, Air Conditioning worked great, breakfast was a hot Continental breakfast but you could grab juices and water out of the fridge in the lobby without charge and they always had fresh baked cookies. We were wanting to stay near the French Quarter but they were booked up and we were so glad we ended up staying in the Garden District. It was a nicer area and only took a short ride by trolley to get to the French Quarter and down to the Casino. We had secure parking. When we first checked in, we had a problem with our remote and the maintenance man came immediately and fixed the issue immediately. We had great recommendations from the front dest clerk. Just a very pleasant stay on a 2 month trip we were on.

    « Damp and Mold »

The front desk staff was wonderful and as helpful as can be. This was especially true, when our room had mold on the windows and drapes and smelled of damp. We were immediately moved to the only other available room, which, unfortunately also had mold (this time in bathroom) and damp. It was supposed to be a more expensive room because it overlooked St Charles Street, which under cover of night seems to have lots of inebriated individuals and street pharmacists doing business. We couldn't use the elevator for a short time after the ceiling fell in on another guest and had to be repaired. The bed was comfortable and would have contributed to a good nights sleep except for the damp smell. Both the room we started with and the room we eventually slept in were a bit small for two twin beds and a family of four with teenagers. The staff made sure the rest of our four-night reservation was cancelled and let us keep our car in the secured parking lot while we explored the French Quarter the next day even after we had checked out. They were helpful despite our unpleasant stay due circumstances beyond their control. Because of the helpfulness and friendliness of the front desk staff, I wish that I could give this hotel a higher rating, but as we could not even stay past the first night of our reservation (and then only because it was late and dark and we had no other place to go), I could not recommend this hotel.

« First trip to NOLA »

We had a great experience at the St. Charles Inn. Our stay with BW Plus' are always great. The staff were very friendly, beds nice and comfy too. Secure parking and right on the trolley line so it could not have been more convenient for site-seeing. Breakfast was good, nice selection to choose from. We will definitely stay here on our next visit!

    « Fine establishment »

This is a very nice place to stay. I love the location. It is very close to downtown, the French quarter, Frenchmen street etc, but yet very calm. The architecture of the houses in this neighbourhood is truly amazing. It does feel very local and genuine unlike some hotels in more touristy locations. The staff are friendly, the breakfast well above average and there is even parking in the back. If the lot is full you'll have to park two blocks away but when we stayed here we had no issues to get parking in the back and we arrived late. Everything is nice and clean although some things are a little bit outdated such as the elevator. AC extremely sufficient which is a must in New Orleans. My only real complaint is that we payed extra for "city view" but there is really no city view from the third floor, all we can see are the trees right outside our window. They should really remove the pay extra feature for this "view" it feels like highway robbery to me. Other than that though, great place to stay in a gorgeous neighbourhood.

Location was perfect. Service was very good. Loved our room. So cozy but with plenty of room. Decor was nice. Safe place to park your vehicle. Trolley came right by the hotel and took us to Bourbon street. Nice restaurant nearby. I would def. stay here again when coming to NOLA.

    « ...a great find in NOLA! »

Have stayed here twice and the staff is superb: the rooms are comfy with all the amenities. My only (minor) complaint is that the last time we stayed the elevator was not working right and it lurched between floors etc. My two guests would not take it again. I believed it was fixed toward the end of our stay. The only other disappointment is when the streetcar is not working in the section that goes past BW-St.Charles. The streetcar is one of the best points of this location. Again, I think that section is all good right now. The breakfast is hot and nutritious. The rooms are spotless, the beds are comfy and it is so close to all that Uptown has to offer: Riverbend, Magazine Street, Audobon Park, Tulane and much more. Stay there. P.S. They were so lovely to take care of us locals after a negligent driver crashed into our house and we needed a quick and convenient place to stay. I meant to do this review months ago - thank you BW St. Charles for being our home away from home last September!

    « What a great find! »

The hotel is in the garden district which is very quiet, not like the French Quarter. This was a great find! First of all they allow dogs and even have fruitable dog treats. They thought of everything at this hotel. Very good breakfast, incredible and helpful people at the desk, very comfortable rooms, great location across from trolley to downtown (1.25 a ride or $3 -24 hrs) - I would definitely stay here again. They always have citrus water and coffee (flavorings, spices etc) in the lobby. They went the extra yard with everything they do. reasonable rates-self parking--workout room--lending library with leather bound books-- very convent

This hotel is perfect for anyone who 1) wants a calm location that is still close to all that New Orleans has to offer and 2) wants free and SAFE parking. The hotel rooms are very nice and spacious. Hotel housekeeping did a great job keeping the room clean and stocked. The other hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, always saying hello with a smile. Breakfast had many options including some healthy and gluten free oatmeal/grits with toppings. There is a street car stop directly outside the hotel for convenient transportation downtown and to French Quarter. I wouldn't stay anywhere else! Great hotel!

Never have been to New Orleans, we researched, looked and read reviews here. We stayed Tuesday & weds night July 19th & 20th on St. Charles at the Best Western Plus. We would stay here again, why the desk people are not overly friendly (ok, not friendly at all) any of the other staff is great!! The ladies at breakfast do a fantastic job, answer any questions with a smile. The continental breakfast has anything you'd like, no shortage and well stocked. We had a king room, that once we figured out how to set the air was comfortable and very clean. Downtown is just a trolley ride away, and you only have to walk half a block to get on. Get a jazzy pass!!! We would stay here again!!

« Comfortable and reasonably priced »

We stayed at this Best Western in June for 2 nights. It was clean and comfortable and very convenient to public transportation. The street car stop is located directly across from the Inn. A wonderful plus is a parking area. There is no extra charge for using the lot and it's just for the persons staying at the Inn. The parking area adjoins the Inn. It's also worth mentioning that all the employees that we interacted with were very pleasant. P.S. And the breakfast was delicious!

This is a lovely hotel on St Charles Avenue. Perfect location, especially if you want to be out of the quarter. Situated on Street Car Line and Mardi Gras Route. The staff is what make this property special. They go way above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable and just perfect!

    « A Hidden Gem »

We frequently visit New Orleans and have stayed at some of the very best hotels there and found this Best Western by accident. We were very surprised at the charm of this hotel and the comfort and beauty of the room. It's amenities were comparable to hotels hundreds of dollars more expensive. It's location is perfect right on St. Charles St. close to restaurants, a Fresh Market and the trolley runs right in front of it. It is also a dog friendly hotel which makes it very convenient for people traveling with their pet. I cannot say enough about how charming and comfortable this facility is and the breakfast was delicious. You will be very impressed with your stay here! We have already made reservations to return for Mardi Gras!

« Comfy, peaceful, and convenient to public transportation »

Our stay at this hotel was made even better by the fact that it is on the street car line going into downtown New Orleans. It made getting around the city a pleasure rather than a chore and paying high prices to park your car in a lot. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. The hotel was clean and offered a variety in it's hot breakfast.

« Great for parking, delicious breakfast »

Clean and comfortable. They have a wonderful breakfast with plenty of options (eggs, fresh fruit, crawfish & jambalaya hash, waffles, oatmeal bar, grits, cereals, pastries, coffee bar & more). Best of all you can enjoy your breakfast & watch the streetcar roll by because the hotel is right on the route. Parking was a dream. Free and in a secure lot. You won't find that in the French Quarter or CBD.

« Lots of other choices in NOLA »

If you want a cheap, quick, predictable hotel, this is fine. If you want to enjoy yourself in Nola, find something downtown. The surrounding area feels like you are "off the beaten path," even though it looks fairly convenient on a map. The room was small. The hotel parking could have been a problem if someone hadn't just left before we got there.

Always stay here when possible while traveling to New Orleans. Exterior is very nice; rooms are very nice and you often get 2 windows in the room and one in the bath. Very comfortable beds. Private parking.

« Home in the garden district »

This is not a luxury hotel. I give it five stars because of location, parking, cleanliness , but most of all for the staff. Sitting in the lobby is like being an honored guest in someone's home. Great breakfast, fruit and cheese or fresh baked cookies in the evening. Great veranda for watching the world go by. I have stayed there two times and will again I hope. Street car stops in front and takes you to canal St to explore the French quarter

« NO QUALMS ON MY END »

The room that we stayed in had a unique feel of being in old time New Orleans. The room was clean and tidy. Great location for catching the street trolley to Bourbon St. Don't know where the room was situated but it was quiet. Breakfast on the morning we left was outstanding.

    « Great experience »

We had a great experience and enjoyed our one night stay. We did not have a reservation and the stay was not planned. The front desk reception was very helpful and friendly and answered all of our questions about how to get around. The hotel was very welcoming and our room was clean. A great experience!

My husband and I stayed here for a couple days while on Vacation and it was wonderful! The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The streetcar stop is right across the street and was very convenient to get around. We parked our car in the gated lot behind the hotel and didn't use it at all while we were there! I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back again!

What a pleasant surprise this little hotel was!!! room was beautiful, modern and clean. Staff was so helpful and professional and breakfast in the morning was really nice thanks to Keisha. She sets it up every morning and does such a nice job!!! I also wanted to mention Kathleen at the front desk who was beyond wonderful and Tatum one of the housekeepers that i had a lovely converrsation with. Who knew a Best Western could be such a nice hotel!!

Right on St. Charles streetcar line in the lovely Garden District. Room very clean and bed comfortable. Desk personnel very helpful with multitudes of tourist questions. We will return. Breakfast nothing fancy but quite nice. One afternoon we had cookies!

    « Perfect »

There is seriously nothing they could do to have made the stay any more perfect. Beautiful hotel with a very nice patio facing the avenue. Have breakfast or a snack while watching the streetcars pass by. It's a calm part of the avenue right on the streetcar line. We left the car in the provided, gated, secure parking lot and used the streetcar to go to the French Quarter. Didn't have to look for or pay for parking downtown. Get a "jazzy pass" at a local walgreens for convenient on and off, unlimited use of the streetcars. The bathroom has a lit makeup mirror that we moved to the desk so we could use it as a vanity and one could primp with the other was in the shower. Very nicely scented bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion provided as well as mouth wash, swabs, cotton balls, nail file and shower cap. This hotel goes just a little beyond the norm at everything. The rooms are very comfortable with microwave, fridge, and keurig. Also, an in room safe is in the closet. LOTS of cable channels. Very comfortable beds with piles of pillows. Gorgeous decor. Clean and spotless. The hall had beautiful leather bound books you could borrow if you would like. The lobby has a couple of mini fridges that are always stocked for a quick grab snack on the go. It had apple, grapefruit and orange juices, milk, yogurt, greek yogurt, etc. There was also fruit, cheese and citrus infused ice water. One night we grabbed chocolate chip cookies and milk on our way to our room from a day in the French Quarter. Breakfast had hot and cold selections and changed daily. The business center has a computer, handy for searching local businesses and directions. Lots of pamphlets available for local attractions and tours. They also give you free wifi for use in your room. Had no problems connecting. The halls smelled wonderful and it could just be me but it seemed the scent changed daily... jasmine or gardenia one day, lemon citrus the next. This hotel is the way to go if you are visiting New Orleans. I hope I can return to this unique, amazing city and I hope I am able to stay here again.

    « Lovely location »

This hotel is situated away from the hubbub of the French Quarter, but virtually straight opposite the trolley stop in the picturesque/quiet Garden area-ideal location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and featured a fridge, microwave, coffee-maker and (of course) a flat-screen TV. Breakfast was a big bonus as not only was it free, but quite tasty, with slight choice variations each day. The fruit was particularly good. The breakfast area itself was very pleasant and there was additional outdoor seating. A good start to our holiday accommodation!

My wife and I stayed here over the memorial day holiday. Wonderful experience all the way around. Friendly staff, nicely decorated rooms, very clean and updated with new furniture, fridge, microwave, coffee maker (k-cups). I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the downtown area. Easy access to the trolley although it's about a 20-30 min ride to canal depending on how busy it is but we actually enjoyed it. The free parking a huge plus. The comp breakfast nothing short of fantastic! ! Saves you money and no doubt the best comp breakfast we've ever seen. Thanks a bunch for a great time!

    « Simply Sucked - So angry?? »

Booked a room for 4 adults & 2 dogs through Expedia\\Orbitz . Was charged extra for dogs which is totally understandable & the full price of room for Saturday night before memorial day upfront. It was very pricy. Room was only for one night after 7 day trip to beach. I spent the entire last day of my beach vacation attempting to get confirmation number from Expedia/Orbitz and calling hotel for help. I was told by Expedia\\Orbitz that they could not pull reservation under my name, husband's name, or my email addresses or his. The hotel staff simply said I had no reservation and they had no room available for me. I finally had book another hotel room that was much further from the French Quarter at a cost of over $550 for one night. The staff at second hotel was more than accommodating. And then yesterday at 8:02 pm, after already checking into our other hotel, I receive an email from Orbitz asking me how my checking at the Best Western - St. Charles was...Nonexistent. That is how it was. So now I am out the cash for both rooms & will have to dispute the charge for the room at the Best Western & to try to get the other money returne5 This is been a HORRIBLE experience. I would never recommended this hotel to anyone ever. The customer service was awful & I will also NEVER Orbitz or Expedia.

    « Vacation comfort »

Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Valet parking. Close to French quarter. Street car line across the street. Continental breakfast and pet friendly. Would definitely stay here again. Affordable price. The charge for daily parking is a little high but worth it because you can take the car out and bring it back with no extra charges

    « Convenient to Tulane »

I arrived at 9:30 am and my room was ready which was convenient. Good, friendly service. Clean, adequate breakfast, on street car line to get to Tulane or other places, bed was a little uncomfortable. Two sinks. I think dogs are allowed. Price is reasonable for the area. I would stay there again.

« excellent stay - wish queen beds were available »

our stay, the location, the staff, everything was excellent - ochsner med center, magazine street, the French quarter were all within very reasonable distance - our only complaint is that there were three of us (adults) sharing two double beds - we certainly wished rooms with TWO QUEEN beds were available

« Nice Place in Orleans close to everything »

We stayed here for three nights and we were very happy with it, it is an old hotel that has been refurbished , the room was small but comfortable. The staff was very helpful and very nice. They give you information on all the sight and a map to find them. with we were very pleased with the hotel and the staff. We usually always stay at Best Western Hotels, if possible. They are always clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful The St charles was no exception we really enjoyed our stay there.

    « Great, all around »

The St. Charles Inn lays in the Garden District and offers a lot peace and quite. Trolley station ($3 Day ticket) is right across the streetm wich comes in handy because you do not want the get to Downtown NOLA with your car. There are several dinning options in the area, including a Mexican restaurant next door. Parking is free and secured ( You'll get a clicker/remote ) to get in and out the gate. The room and bathroom where surprisingly spacious and well kepped and nicely cleaned each day. I would definitly recommend this hotel and will stay here agai if i get to NOLA again.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and this time felt like a little updating had been done. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a great location and I love the free parking and wifi. It's also nice to have a complimentary breakfast to wake up to. They also keep a fridge with milk, juice and yogurt available at all times. I think its a great value for the location

    « New Orleans Hotel »

A great hotel. Old but charming. St Charles streetcar runs right in front. Personnel nice and gracious. Nice breakfast and off street parking. Close to main Garden District. Cemetery easy distance to explore. 20 min by streetcar to the French Quarter. Would certainly return here.

« Reasonable hotel in the garden district »

Great location on the street car line. Great value, clean, comfortable and gated parking. Easy trolley ride to the WW II museum, quick cab ride to downtown and French quarter. We've stayed here several times and each visit is better than the last. Local restaurants are just a walk away and there is a peace and quiet not available in the French quarter. $3 gets you all day unlimited use of the street cars!! Nice area to stroll, with beautiful Victorian houses lining St. Charles. Can't wait to book our next stay.

    « Vacation »

Stayed 6 nights. Very clean, quiet, staff was very helpful and friendly. A good breakfast variety. Valet parking was good. Location was easy access to the French Quarter. The Ruby Slipper was across the street, great breakfast or brunch place to eat. Walking distance to many different sites. Staff made our reservations for tours.

    « VERY NICE STAY!!!! »

I'll be honest....I had low expectations when I booked the room. I had never been to New Orleans, so I expected little. Boy was I wrong. I checked in and the staff were all VERY nice and helpful with getting me around the city! The hotel was very clean, very pleasant, and great quality for the price especially. Good breakfast and nice area. I would highly recommend "Dat Dog" at the intersection of Louisiana and Magazine, and "Superior Seafood" about 3/4 mile west on St. Charles. Both within walking distance. I did not try the restaurant attached to the hotel, however it was full both nights I was there! Not really walking distance to Bourbon/Canal St, but a short trolley ride!

« Wonderful place in a great location »

This is a lovely location in the garden district with beautiful Victorian style homes. Nice and quiet, we did not want to stay in the noisy and stinky French Quarter. Very nice spacious and clean rooms. Our room had a separate sink and vanity along with the one in the bathroom, very convenient for two people. Comfortable beds with soft linens. Large size mini Refrigerator and Keurig type coffee pot in the room. Breakfast at the hotel everyday with nice selections of hot and cold foods. Hotel is right next to street car line, easy to hop on and off to where ever you want to go, Great friendly helpful staff at this location, knowledgeable about the activities, restaurants and local places to visit as well as Jazz Fest. They even provided umbrellas and rain ponchos at the front desk and it was pouring!! ( We came prepared this time so did not need them but it is a very nice offering when in NOLA).

    « It's ok »

We needed parking again in a hotel and everything else seemed to be booked. Best western is usually good but we found cleaning was mediocre. Beds and breakfast were good. Front desk service was helpful. We didn't realize how far it was from the French Quarter (our mistake) but there is a street car you can take for $1.25 EXACT CHANGE ONLY. So, if you have any reservations, really take your time for transportation.

    « Great location. »

I recently visited New Orleans with my aunt, and our choice of this hotel proved to be very wise. The location is in a very pretty area, slightly away from the French Quarter, but the streetcar passes directly outside the front door. A 6 or 7 minute ride to the Canal St./ Bourbon St stop makes for easy access. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The rooms were modern and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice....a good selection. Iced lemon water was always available...very welcome in the heat, and avoids always having to drink bottled water.

    4
« Good choice in NOLA »

Staying in NOLA during Jazzfest-I opt to not stay in the French Quarter-too congested and noisy then. This is a perfect location for me: easy to go to CBD and Quarter (by car or Streetcar) and free parking. And easy to go to the Uptown area restaurants and clubs. Staff is super, and genuinely nice.

    3
« The rooms were not clean »

When we checked in and went to the room there was hair all around the sink and the mirror had toothpaste all on it. This room was not what I expected. The location was good and the breakfast was OK. The rooms were also on the small side. The location is not noisy like in the quarter.

« Great place to stay »

I booked 3 rooms for my son's wedding. The rooms are very nice. The stuff was so welcoming and nice. I would recommend this hotel any anyone. The breakfast was good. They had easy free parking and you could walk out the hotel and catch the street car.

    3
    « Free parking »

Chose this hotel because it offered free parking which worked well. The streetcar ran outside the hotel, 30 minutes to the city centre. The hotel showed its age, our room had a musty smell. Room was a moderate size but comfortable. Wi-fi was a major problem taking up to 20 minutes to connect. Breakfast was in the lounge with more tables outside. When raining there were insufficient tables inside. Worth staying here if you need parking, but be aware the hotel is only mediocre.

« Makes the Big Easy easier »

Great hotel for a fun New Orleans vacation. Located in the Garden District it is easy to drive to and offers secure parking which is a big deal in NOLA. Rooms are spacious and clean. Good shower. Breakfast is OK but not special. K cup coffee in your room. The St Charles trolley is a dozen steps out your front door and takes you to The French Quarter in style.

« Nice Pre and Post Cruise Hotel! »

This was a nice place to stay the night after our family got back to port from a 5 day cruise. We stayed at another hotel down in the French Quarter the night prior and I wish we had stayed here that night instead. The rooms aren't the most updated however, they were very clean and nicely appointed with your typical amenities. The pool looked like it needed a bit of a cleaning, but that said, the kids really didn't mind. We all really enjoyed the free breakfast as well. The location is so much nicer (and safer) than that of most in the French Quarter. We loved being right there at the Trolly stop and felt it safe enough to allow our 13 year olds to ride it up to Tulane and back by themselves during the day. Overall, if we ever cruise out of Port of NOLA again, we will definitely stay here. We would recommend it highly to friends and family.

« Perfect Hotel to Start Our Vacation! »

We were in NOLA for my high school class reunion and arrived a few days early to sight see. As French Quarter Fest was starting the next day, we wanted a hotel out of the hustle and bustle of the FQ. We were able to take the streetcar everywhere and never had to take our rented car out of the free parking lot. The room was lovely and had two vanities which was great for getting ready in the morning. Another nice touch was the Keurig. The hot breakfast was fabulous and the first morning included Crawfish and Andouille Sausage Hash! Fruited water and cookies during the day was a nice touch. They also have brightly colored golf umbrellas in case of rain.

    4
« On the trolley route »

The hotel lobby area was kept very neat. The breakfast items were kept full and were fresh every day we were there. Rooms have some age but-- was cleaned well each day. It is on the trolley route which makes if very convenient.

    « A nice hotel »

Though this is a chain hotel, and not an especially high-end one, it has a lot to recommend it. As others have commented, the location is great--lovely neighborhood with some wonderful houses, close to the historical parts of the city, some fine restaurants, galleries, and antique stores nearby (especially Magazine Street). I recommend long walks to explore the area. Farther up St. Charles are Tulane and Loyola universities, which are fun to see. The hotel itself is comfortable and well run. The rooms have everything you need, including a fridge and microwave. There are vending machines and ice on each floor. I slept well on a good mattress. The breakfast is much better and more varied than the usual buffet in a chain hotel. The hotel offers refreshing fruit-infused ice water and coffee all day, cookies in the afternoon. So some nice extra touches. I thought the staff was exceptional, friendly and competent.

« Family Spring Break in NOLA »

Our family decided to visit New Orleans this year for Spring Break. My husband went to college there so we wanted our kids to see his campus and the city. Finding a good hotel was key. We did not want to stay close to the busy area of the French Quarter but wanted to have easy and quick access to several different places. St Charles St seemed ideal bc of the street cars. After looking up several hotels we picked Best Western Plus bc it is right on St Charles Street and it's close to the Garden District where there are many beautiful homes and churches. The hotel was great for many reasons: private gated parking lot right behind the building, the street cars pass right in front of the hotel so we were able to go towards the French Quarter with ease without having to worry about parking, we were able to go in the other direction and visit the zoo, and colleges and just stayed on it for a while to do sightseeing of parts of the city. The breakfast was great with a great variety. My youngest one loves chocolate and they had individual containers of NUTELLA, which I have never seen at any other hotel we've stayed. It was definitely a great treat to spread on croissants which they also offered. They had a variety of individual juice bottles: orange, apple and Grapefruit which are definitely much better than the juice dispensers found in most hotels which never taste like juice, so this was a great plus. In the evening they set out cookies or cheese and grapes (one night they had both). They have a nice front porch with tables and umbrellas where you can sit down to have breakfast if the breakfast area is full or later in the evening to just sit down, relax and enjoy the outdoor ambiance.

    « Great Stay »

Everyone was very helpful. Even though the hotel was older, it was apparent that it was well maintained. Our family stayed in at the Crowne in the French quarter two weeks ago, and we were quite disappointed at the service and maintenance of the hotel. Our daughter is considering going to Tulane and and this will be the hotel we stay at when we come to visit. Furthermore, I will definitely recommend to other Tulaneans. Love the breakfast bar-well maintained, liked the fridge, and liked that there were snacks, water and fruit left out for guests during the day. Although the rooms were older, they hotel did a a great job updating and providing nicer shampoos and soaps, etc that provided an upscale feeling. We liked that we had a safe place for our car to park, and that it was free!! We will be back for sure!

    « Great for a family »

First time to New Orleans. Traveled with a 15 and 16 year old. I loved this hotel. I will stay here everytime I vacation here. I parked the car and never had to move the vehicle again. The trolly runs right in front all day/all night for $3.00 a person for an all day pass. We took it to Canal Street and down to the zoo area. There is no need to drive to these locations. The restaurant next door was great. Breakfast had something for everyone. Hot foods, healthy foods, juice, mild, cereal, etc.. coffee all day.

    « Love it!! »

Any time we visit New Orleans we always stay at Best Western Plus St Charles Inn. The staff are very friendly and our stay has always been pleasant. They are always there to make sure you are taken care of. The amenities are second to none and the hotel is always clean. One of the best things about it all is that our favorite restaurant Superior Bar & Grill is attached.

« Friends trip to New Orleans »

We were well satisfied with this hotel, it was on the streetcar line which made it easy for us to get to the French Quarter without driving and parking. The over-flow parking was just around the corner so checking out was simple as well. Awesome location for anyone uncomfortable with driving in a strange city.

« Reunion in New Orleans »

This hotel is in a perfect location to "see" New Orleans. The trolley to Canal Street, the French Quarter, casinos, the Riverwalk and museums stops right in front of the hotel. The Garden District is within waking distance. There are restaurants within walking distance and on the trolley line. Our group enjoyed the hotel's patio as a relaxing meeting place at the end of busy days. Hotel has private parking, a nice exercise room and business room with large round table for working. Guest rooms have refrigerator, desk and two separate sinks which is always handy. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

    « Couldn't have asked for a better stay »

Loved the staff, location, cleanliness, comfort, and ease of this hotel. The staff was super nice and made things easy. They were always available for directions and recommendations. The rooms were very clean and had the best smelling shampoo trail bottles. :-) We enjoyed sitting on the front patio, watching the people. It was located on the streetcar line which made getting around the city easy. And the other big plus was no parking fee in a gated parking lot!

« New Orleans St Charles Inn »

We stayed here with our daughter and two small dogs. The staff was very attentive to all our needs. Our dogs were greeted by friendly staff on arrival with dog treats and each time we left and returned to the hotel. The room and beds were great. Located on St Charles cable car line making it easy to catch the cable car to the zoo or to the French Quarter. We will certainly be staying at this inn on future returns to New Orleans. My wife says she is going to bring friends so they can set out side on courtyard in front of hotel and watch the cable car and the tree lined street.

    « Weekend Stay »

I loved my weekend stay at the hotel, it was an amazing experience at a great hotel. The internet was great and the location was amazing. I was able to walk to Magazine every night for dinner. I liked that there was hazelnut half and half and the coffee offered all day and ngiht.

« My favorite place to stay in New Orleans »

Best staff ever. Good price. Great location for The Garden District and Tulane. Steps away from St. Charles Streetcar. Short walk to Magazine Street. Breakfast only okay, but the best they can do. Parking is always available, but closer parking permits are limited so you may have to park a block away. Safe neighborhood. Only problem: toilet seats don't stay up.

    4
« Very pleased with our stay »

It's an older building, but very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free parking out back. Room was small, but very clean. Liked that it had two vanity/mirror areas. Breakfast was very sufficient. Street car tracks across the street..very convenient for going downtown. Hotel staff helped us book a van tour of the city..cost $49 per person, but worth it, 3 hours long by person who lived there all his life, picked us up and dropped off at hotel. Nice restaurant next door to hotel...in same building actually. Would definitely stay there again if in New Orleans.

« Excellent Location for Those Driving »

This was our first trip to New Orleans, and the majority of our focus was naturally the French Quarter. But navigating through the French Quarter by vehicle for an accommodation was a task I assumed I did not want to try. Research led to this Best Western in the Garden District which by looking at a map seemed easy to get to. And now looking back, I would not do it any different if we visited again. But honestly a lot of credit here must go to the St Charles Streetcar line, conveniently located in front of the hotel. The streetcar was only $3 for a full day pass, and the ride was only 20 minutes or so. The streetcar stopped in front of the hotel, and took us to the edge of the French Quarter. St Charles Ave in the Garden District is a collection of 1800's homes, remarkably upkept and preserved in their identity. Perfect for those who like ere homes and buildings, and architecture. Easily seen by walking from this hotel, or using the before mentione streetcar line. Some tour companies in the city have hotel pickup, even from this rather remote location. We did a swamp and city tour, and were picked up from in front. We waited for pickup on the Best Western's excellent outdoor patio/veranda. Well known Lafayette cemetery and Commanders Palace restaurant are located nearby. Not a huge amount of other restaurants located close, but enough to satisfy various local and international cuisine, and various price points and levels of dress. We ate at Superior Seafood one night, and the very casual New Orleans Hamburger company another night. Superior Grill(Mexican), is part of this hotel, so very convenient if that authentic cuisine appeals to you. Never went to Magazine Street, but from what I understand it is a very easy walk to the south during the daytime. Several restaurants are located there also, as well as extensive shop browsing. Hotel wise, you cannot beat the secure and free parking at this property, especially in comparison to many French Quarter hotel accommodations. As said in other reviews, parking is limited, so prepare to check in early if possible. Breakfast was good, with some hot items. Seating is limited, so you may have to be patient at busy times, though you can make use of the outdoor veranda seating area. Made use of the exercise area a couple of times. It was well equipped. Enough has likely been stated about the rooms in other reviews. The hotel has managed to maintain a lot of identity in this older building, while still providing a modern level of ammenity.

    « Perfect location »

We have stayed at this location for the last 4 years, usually during Mardi Gras. The staff does their best to make things right when there is a problem. Angela, Lisa and Keisha were helpful and the nice young man who replaced the lock on our door was outstanding. We really wanted to stay in our assigned room. They moved us into a room that smelled like dog(new policy to accept pets) and overlooked a bank of rooftop air conditioners while the lock was being repaired. Then, when the lock was repaired around 10pm, they moved us back into the first room that we were assigned. That made us very happy.

    « Horrible experience »

This was the worst hotel experience I've had to date and I am an avid traveller. I am a platinum best western customer and usually have great experiences with best western. I was moving from California to Florida and had been on the road with a kid and two cats for a week straight. I planned ahead to find a hotel that net our needs that accepted pets and had secure parking as everything we owned was packed in our car. The room was paid for hours in advance by my mother who wanted to make sure we stayed in a nice safe area downtown, which was out of our budget price range. I was very thankful and relieved to pull up to the hotel thinking I could finally relax after all these days on the road. Unfortunately it was nothing but rudeness and inconvenience from the second we pulled up. Even though my mother had prepaid for our room and they had run her card and told her we were all set, the clerk refused to accept this upon arrival and demanded a photo copy of my mothers credit card, photo ID, and a special form to be filled out and faxed back. All this at almost midnight. I had to wake my mother who refused to hand over her identity in full to the hotel. I've never been asked to do this at any hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. I ended up having to pay myself, at a very high rate which wiped out my budget for the rest of our road trip. To make matters ever worse we were told we had to park in overflow 3 blocks away in an unsecured parking garage in an unsafe area. It was a terrible, terrible experience and even though I am a long term loyal best western customer, I am now seriously considering switching to a different chain to build my loyalty with that treats me with the respect I deserve. Stay away from this hotel, shady financial practices, lies about policy, disrespectful staff, unsecured parking.

    « Horrible horrible policies! »

Booked a room for my daughter & granddaughter who are traveling alone across the country. They took my CC# and said room was booked ... They arrived 4 hours later ( 11pm) my time and I get a phone call - they say they want me to send a photo of my CC & my drivers license to them???? Who does this in an age of identity theft?? What kind of hotel chain does not book a room for you over the phone??? To make matters worse! They had her park her car 3 blocks away in the dark to walk back alone in a unfamiliar city! I am so completely done with ANY best western after this experience! I can't believe this is how they do business? I run phone orders all day long?? Pretty sad they are NOT family friendly:(( Welcome to New Orleans! Huh!! Never again:((((((

« Relaxing stay in NOLA »

We stayed in NOLA four nights and chose this Best Western based on location, reviews on TripAdvisor and special price offered. The location is right on the trolly line making it very easy to get around without the need of a car. But if you do have a car they have parking which is a rare thing in NOLA. An all day pass on the trolly is $3 or if you're 65+ show ID and it's 40 cents each trip. (Have exact change!) The building is older (not unusual for New Orleans) but rooms are nice, wonderful bed and all was very clean. Breakfast is the usual however the quality is much higher than the norm. The only negative is room 320, which was our assigned room the first night. Due to the air condition unit on top of the building next door the noise level is high. There were no other rooms available that night but the desk clerk moved us to another room for the remainder of our stay and we had no further noise problems. If you want a party atmosphere stay in the French Quarter but if you want a peaceful place to stay this Best Western is perfect (except for room 320).

    « Relax and enjoy »

This hotel and location never disappoints. I want to always stay right here when I visit Nola (which is never often enough). Every single thing about this little hotel just begs me to stay forever. I must make reservations for Mardi Gras day so I can re-live the complete experience. Lived here for 5 years as a teenager, and close by ever since. Nola screams for me (& my better half) to visit often. Never resist and soak up every drop of this wonderful, cultural city every chance you get. Best western plus (st. Charles) will certainly provide that! just park and jump on the streetcar. Thank me later. ??

We loved this hotel. The Best Westerns we've stayed at have been pet friendly, but this one had a bowl of treats at the front desk! They have a very friendly staff and a great breakfast spread! The room has the sink in the bathroom and also a separate sink and mirror! With 2 couples this was a plus! With 2 beds and smaller, older room size it was a bit tight but it was clean and perfect to us. The additional benefits are free gated parking with a fabulous Mexican restaurant next door!

Top of the line service. Wonderful location, clean rooms and great breakfast. Easy to get on the street cars if you are looking to go further into the city. Would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back in the future.

« Friendly staff, great location! »

This is a very nice hotel in a great location. The streetcar line runs past the front of the hotel, and it is easy to jump on and ride the streetcar to the French Quarter, WWII Museum, and other places and not have to worry about parking. You can get an all day pass for $3. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They provide a hot breakfast every morning and treats at night. They have fruit, coffee, tea and water all day. There is free parking in back in a secure lot which can save you some money. The hotel has a patio out front where you can sit on a nice day, have a treat, and watch the people, streetcar, etc. Garden District is a comfortable location to explore the old mansions and get away from a lot of activity and traffic. We would stay here again.

« Home Away From Home »

The location and staff of this Best Western was perfect! Another major plus was the free Wi-Fi! The property is located in the Garden District and roughly 10-15 minutes from major points in the city. It was also only 20-25 minutes from the airport. I must say I had an uneventful stay for 3 nights at this property. The staff was extremely pleasant and assisted with my every move! I planned (2) tours and they gave me a wealth of information about the tours and the events taking place in New Orleans. The rooms were very clean and housekeeping definitely did their job on a daily basis. I have a Keurig at home and welcomed the Keurig in the guest rooms! The bed slept well also. One of my major concerns was safety since I was traveling solo. The parking lot was gated and guest are issued a remote to enter the parking lot 24/7. I felt very safe and actually took a walk for several blocks in the Garden District one late evening. The breakfast was sufficient and the presentation was awesome! A huge thanks to Keisha for preparing such a lovely breakfast every morning! I would also like to personally thank Angela, Lisa and Chantel and Lisa whom assisted me though out my stay. I will definitely be returning to this property hands down!

This hotels main selling point is its great location (just a block from Canal) and very reasonable price. You can easily walk to all of the main attractions. Very friendly staff and overall a great place to stay.

    « weekend trip »

Hotel is in quiet area of Garden District. Rooms were very quiet. Parking in front is not the best as it is along the curb and using cart was tricky with the ramps. Trolley car access is less than a block away. The only way to travel downtown!! Hotel is older, but all the rooms are updated and remodeled. Parking at hotel was great and bonus of no extra fees! Breakfast was great with hot and cold variety including eggs, bacon, waffles, oatmeal, yogurt etc. Coffee was excellent! Staff was very friendly and helpful offering rain ponchos due to possibility of rain. They even had umbrellas for you to use!! I will definitely stay here again.

« Best Western St. Charles Inn »

The hotel has a wonderful location on Live Oak tree lined St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans. It is convenient for visiting New Orleans' Garden District and to the Touro Infirmary Hospital. The staff is always very helpful and outstandingly friendly.

    « Location & Service!!!!!!!!! »

Boutique hotel right on street car line! This is the second time I've stayed here in 4 months and the people are incredibly attentive and accommodating! Angela at the desk was incredible both times!!!! So helpful, I needed a last minute extra room, she made it happen at a great rate!!!!! FREE PARKING with a remote so no waiting for valet. Everything is just easy here. Rooms are cute & clean, AND have a separate vanity and sink aside from the one in bathroom so multiple people can get ready at once. I used to always stay at Sheraton on Canal but got sick of taking 2 elevators, waiting for elevators, crowds, waiting for car and paying for parking. SO GLAD I made the change. Brought a friend this time and she loved the St. Charles Inn too! Everyone there is so friendly, what a wonderful group of people they have working there! Free breakfast is decent. No hotel restaurant however there is a restaurnat connected, a mexican place with a seperate entry and it is good. You can buy bottles of wine from them for VERY good price as well! So really everything you need in one place.

« Great Place to Stay when visiting NOLA »

This hotel was in a quiet area and we felt very safe there. Super convenient on the streetcar line. The staff were very kind, thoughtful and helpful. We rented a car and it was great to have free parking. The room was a tad small, but not an issue if you don't spend much time in it. Would definitely recommend staying here.

    « Used a discount service - got what I paid for »

I've learned my lesson - no more discount services. We got a room with a view of the air conditioner units, next to the elevator. Nice hotel, but Travelocity managed to find a room that couldn't sell (now I see why), and we got it! Breakfast , coffee and juice is pastry only.

« Great Location and Friendly Staff »

I loved the location of this hotel. I was able to walk around and saw all the beautiful homes. The trolley is right outdoors and will take you to the heart of New Orleans (Bourbon St). The staff was helpful and friendly. I recommend this hotel to all my friends who mention they are going to New Orleans.

« Best staff in Nola »

The St. Charles Inn is a great place to stay if you are a runner because it is in the mecca of running on St. Charles Avenue. Additionally, they allow pets and its a great place to walk the dog right next to the hotel.

« Very convenient away from French quarter »

We did not wish to be in the French quarter, but wished to be close. The hotel is right on the St. Charles trolley line. Very convenient to WW2 museum which is part of Smithsonian. Also convenient to Loyola university on the same line. Trolley connects to canal street line.all told extremely convenient to museums etc. bathroom floor was dirty and when we complained in the evening the workers were ready to clean it themselves and were very apologetic. We spent four nights. After this incident there were no problems and staff went out if their way for everything

« Loved Staying Here and miss it already! »

My Husband and I are thrilled that we chose Best Western St. Charles as our hotel for the week. We were greeted by very nice people, and I was overjoyed to see a lighted make-up mirror in the room since I was in town for a Wedding. The room was beautiful and the neighborhood was wonderful. With the trolley right outside we were able to jump into the French Quarter or go the opposite way to enjoy a stroll in the park very easily. The breakfast was delicious and during the day you can also munch on cheese and grapes. The staff was terrific, and extremely nice to everyone. I cannot say enough good things about this sweet hotel... but to say; I will definitely stay here again when I return to Louisiana.

« Pleasant place to stay »

We have stayed here several times over thae past 10 years while we visit family. Good location near trolley stop. Breakfast is better than average. In room fridge and microwave are convenient. Drug store and Fresh Market 2 blocks away. Good restaurant next door.

« Great place to stay »

If I have any complaint at all it's that the street car going by all night is noisy. We had a front room. Probably a rear room would have been quieter. Everything was very clean and the staff was great!

    « New Orleans Vacation »

Although the hotel is a bit older it has a sense of style that fits New Orleans as opposed to the generic hotels near the airports. Everything went smoothly. Good value for the price. Right on the tram line with easy access to downtown, restaurants and bars. The staff was courteous and helpful.

« Great Hotel Experience in the New Orleans Garden District »

If you are looking for five star luxury from the Hyatt Regency then you should probably keep looking; however, if you are looking for a quaint hotel with clean rooms in a great location then you will find it here. The check-in staff was very helpful and friendly and they had a great complimentary breakfast with a lot of variety. The rooms were adequately sized (we had a family of four and were very comfortable), and there is a street car stop about a block from the front of the hotel with convenient service to the French Quarter and waterfront areas. Parking is complimentary ( a rarity in New Orleans) at either a small gated parking area behind the hotel or at a nearby secure lot. It is an older hotel but upkept very well and clean. The only complaint I could find is that the elevator is very small and showed its age. I would highly recommend this hotel.

    « Great little hotel! »

Great service and friendly staff. Loved our room, breakfast was just right. The fact that the trolley stopped practically right out front was awesome....barely used our rental car (which was parked free right behind the hotel!). The Garden District is a beautiful area and loved staying there instead of downtown.

    « great location »

stayed here for five nights.first impression good, front staff very helpful and friendly. Got to room,No View! all we saw were airconditioning units and the noise was annoying. Toilet wasnt clean, skid marks from previous person. This problem quickly rectified. Airconditioner in room very noisy. Shower head came flying off. horrible odour in bathroom after heavy rain. Breakfast was good. Great place to eat next door, but lots of choice around. short walk to Magazine st and Garden district.

« Great hotel, staff and location. »

My friend and I stayed here for 5 nights during our recent U.S. Trip. The hotel's location was perfect. St Charles avenue is beautiful, full of fabulous restaurants, and the Trolley car runs right by the front. On our arrival we discovered our bathroom was not clean, the staff were very apologetic and immediately rectified the problem. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, but our view was ugly looking over the rooftop of adjoining restaurant. We weren't too fussed about this as we were out and about every day anyways. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and included eggs, bacon, waffles and selections of breads, bagels, cereals, muffins and fruits. I would happily stay here again.

« Great place, very friendly »

In French Quarter but away from the main crowds of Bourbon street. Plan to valet your car though at $35 additional charge. There isn't anywhere to park in the French Quarter anyway. Hot breakfast included. Go for less expensive room with no window but has whirlpool tub which comes in handy after walking all day.

« Great Location, Great Price, Great Staff, Great Facility! »

Our grandson had surgery at Children's Hospital, about 2.5 miles from the hotel so we needed a room close to the hospital for the length of his stay. The hotel graciously extended a hospital rate for our room. There was ample secure on-premises parking each night of our stay. The staff were all terrific, exceptionally pleasant, friendly and helpful. Our room was very inviting and clean, large size, 2 separate sink areas, a good shower, and very comfortable beds. The room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Our room was cleaned each day and you could tell staff took pride in their work and how they maintained the facility. The breakfast bar offered a great variety of good hot food. It was clean and very appealing. We felt at home during our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good place to stay in New Orleans.

« We will be regulars for the next 4 years »

This was a great place to stay while we visited our daughter in college. It is a great location right on the trolley line. This hotel is located closer to the college right and away from the chaos of downtown but still easily accessable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The building is older but our room was freshly decorated, large, and clean.

« Great Garden District Location on Trolley Line »

Exceptional staff and inviting public rooms are the highlights of this hotel. Very reasonable rates, particularly on weekdays. Great location - much quieter and more scenic than staying in Bourbon St area. Hotel staff could not have been more engaging or helpful. They made great suggestions and even offered free ponchos for rainy weather. Such a nice place. No noise from the restaurant and we stayed right above it on the 2nd floor.

    « Wonderful Hotel »

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was large and clean. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome -- even got an early check in after a sold out night! The hotel is located right on the St. Charles street car line, so getting around is easy!

« Wonderful Staff, Facilty and Great Value! »

This hotel was a wonderful surprise. On all previous trips to New Orleans, we stayed in or near the French Quarter. This hotel is located on St. Charles (streetcar) midway between downtown (CBD) and uptown (Tulane University). The staff was terrific. All were friendly and helpful. The rooms (we had 3 rooms) were very clean, the beds were really good. The breakfast bar had a wide variety of items, well presented and clean. The free parking and WiFi were real bonuses. Excellent hotel! I just got home last night and I am ready to go back now!

    « Delightful stay!! »

Loved the staff!! From Nadia, who patiently answered all our many questions when we arrived, to Kathleen who discussed, at length, the places we might like to visit, to Melissa, the manager, who was like our new best friend and kept offering me her latest doughnut creations from their brand new doughnut making machine, they just couldn't have been more wonderful. I really felt like they were all our new friends. I'm sure there were other great employees there whom we just did not happen to encounter. We had no problem with parking behind the hotel. Maybe it fills up on weekends. Loved having 2 sinks, a microwave, Keurig, and refrigerator in our room. The room was large, clean, nice shower, soft sheets and lots of pillows. I always like when hotels have separate shampoo and conditioner, which they did. They also had q-tips, emery board, lotion, mouthwash, body wash and soap and replenished everyday. The TV remote had a sanitized sleeve and the air conditioner seemed to have a remote control, although we didn't try it. The location was perfect for hopping on the trolley, which we did everyday, walking around the garden district, and walking to great restaurants on Magazine street. We had been to New Orleans about 6 times before, but always stayed downtown. This is so much better! We will always stay here. The only minor negative in our stay was that the air conditioner was noisy when it cycled on and off. We resolved that by keeping the fan on continuously, which turned out to be great white noise for sleeping. If it had bothered me, I would've told management and I feel sure they would've rectified it, but it just wasn't a big enough deal to mention. The weather was temperate while we were there, but I'm not 100% sure the air conditioner would've done a great job of cooling during hot weather. We had it set on 70, which is normally a little cool for us, and it was just about right. It was also 70 outside, however, so it's hard to tell.

« Decent but not great »

Stayed here 2 nights late September. One of the only hotels in the area that had free parking, wifi and breakfast. Only about 25 parking spaces in the back though. If you dont get lucky enough to get back there you have to park in an adjacent parking deck. We got lucky and parked the car for the two days we were in Nola and rode the streetcar to downtown. Streetcar is the way to go. Cheap but crowded. Hotel is outdated and in desperate need of a makeover. Paid extra for a "city view" to look out over a roof with a medical office across the street. Rooms small and continental breakfast is beyond lacking. Customer service average and not outgoing.

    « Convenient !! »

This is a well maintained property. Its location is convenient for touring NOLA. The St. Charles Street trolleys right out the front door and can take you all the way to the French Quarter. Parking is limited. The room is not large but accommodating. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the very secure Garden District with restaurants within walking distance or a short trolly ride. Convenient location!

    « Fleas »

We were given a room infested with fleas. First noticed while lying in bed and got bit. Thought it was a fleeting incident and left for the day. That night I was in bed and felt them on me, I got up walked across room and saw fleas were all over my lower legs. Needless to say I did not sleep that night. First thing in the morning asked for a new room and they did move us, however I was paranoid the fleas got into my things and would come home with me. So I felt very anxious and uncomfortable the rest of my stay. I have bite marks all over my legs. They didn't even offer a discount of any kind off that room price.

    « Quick Visit »

Due to Amtrak schedule, we needed a hotel for just a few hours sleep and shower. This hotel was reasonable cab ride from station. Beautiful décor, clean and comfortable room. Desk attendant arranged wake up call and early cab pick-up. Left too early for breakfast but carryout box provided. Wish we could have stayed longer.

« Not worth the money »

Our first room was a non-smoking but it smelled like smoke. When we went to dinner they supposedly used a machine to get rid of the smoke smell but it was still strong when we returned. We got another room which ended up backing up to the parking lot. Very noisy with trash cans (or something) being dragged all night and car horns going off. Trash man picked up trash at 3:30 am on a Sunday morning. Breakfast lady was VERY rude when we told her the waffle batter was so thick it wouldn't come out of the machine. (note to manager). Not worth the $243 per night.
