"Rudimentary furnished and clean"
323MarcK, 17 Avril 2024

This Hotel is not great located somewhere in an industrial park. Ok it's not to bad connected to the city but there is nothing around to run errands or other things. The room was clean but puristic furnished. The TV very small not like on the pictures in Tripadvisor. Wifi was interrupted and the bathroom had a styling of the 80. The breakfast was good not splendid but good. The staff friendly and attentive. The charge was about 270€ a night for one person- absolutely not matching what was offered. So all over three points. Do I am looking for to come back? Not sure.

"Poor hygiene"
potocap, 04 Juillet 2023

Had a room with duvets which smelled strongly with armpits odour, receptionist wasn't helpful at all, manager on holiday, not accessible, rooms without AC. Second room was little better, good breakfast

"Night in Neuss"
Coastal142559, 20 Juin 2022

Friendly staff, pleasant environment without too much noise, tidy rooms and the interior of the whole hotel, excellent food and restaurant, very reasonable price, all services and hotel staff for the highest rating.

"nice hotel in convenienet area, could do with air conditioning"
Dreamer35200907059, 18 Juin 2019

nice hotel in convenient area: shopping centre nearby + lovely walks along the river Rhine within walking distance to town centre for shopping and sight-seeing lovely breakfast: nice German bread and srispy rolls large room and bathroom, quiet location beds had some waterproof blanket which made it feel very hot and uncomfortable

"each time again"
Escape43167443011, 02 Juin 2019

The room was big and offered all I need. The bed was good and I could sleep very well. The TV was a big flatscreen-tv which offered a lot of progams. The bathroom was friendly and clean. The shower was working very well. The breakfast offered something for everyone - sausage, cheese, Marmelade, fruits, vegetables ... . The coffee tasted very well.

"Robbery?!?!?!"
Travelsova, 29 Mars 2019

Spent here 3 nights during business meetings. The staff was ok, but the smell in hotel was weird. I got a room for disabled people even though I do not need such equipment. (Room to big/wide, bath with two ugly curtains with yellow endings and a special chair for showering, no place to put toiletry bags). The WLAN did not work properly at all. It disappeared always after a minute of use and continued to make problems. The WORST thing that happened was, that when I left the room I closed and locked my suitcase. When I came back, the numbers and position of my case were different. Someone tried to break into my suitcase. Only I had the key of my room and the cleaning service. This is not supposed to happen, not to feel safe leaving your locked (!) case in your own room. I guess the cleaning staff were searching for money. Luckily nothing got stolen but I would not trust them any more. Not worth the price

"I do not recommend"
justynar260, 22 Février 2019

I honestly do not recommend. The room smell of cigarettes, all my clothes have the smell. Staff are uninformed and mislead. In addition, the hotel is away from Düsseldorf. To get to the center you have to spend a minimum of one hour in trafić jams.

"4 stars really?"
TravellerV72, 24 Novembre 2017

When entering it has the appereance of a low budget hotel. This impression unfortunately will not be any different when entering the room. Curtains are retro and the bathroom really needs an upgrade. Poor breakfast. In the morning 8am cleaning started vacuming the room next door. No positive things? Staff is friendly and service minded.

"Very underwhelmed by the quality of this Best Western Hotel"
FunInTheSun008_10, 19 Novembre 2017

I have stayed at other Best Western properties in Europe and had terrific experiences. That was not the case here. From the time I walked into the lobby and smelled cigarette smoke the tone was set. Smoking is allowed in 3rd floor rooms, but just like having a 'smoking' section in a restaurant the smell permeates the building. Beware, if you are at all bothered by cigarette smoke, steer clear. The rooms are still keyed with the metal keys, so it is apparent it has been a long while since any updates have been done. It was reminiscent of travel experiences in the 1980's. The carpeting was in need of a cleaning, as was the facility in general. The white sheers in the room were tinged gray. Bathroom was very dated. Furnishings very dated. I made the mistake of looking at one of the pillows (without the pillow case), and elected to use my rolled up coat as a pillow for the night. No restaurant for dinner. So if you arrive late, it's a taxi ride back to city center for dinner, or just don't eat. There was something about the bar delivering drinks and snacks as room service, but I didn't explore that option. Internet service, while included in my $247/night rate, was spotty and ended up being more trouble than it was worth because of connection issues. Not an option I would ever chose again.

"Typical Business..nothing fancy"
TStiller, 12 Novembre 2017

One night on business, that is all, no breakfast, nice reception service, a little bar for a beer. The rooms are simple and comfortable, nothing special just a room, bed and TV as usual. The check out was quick and friendly, the stay affordable but really simple. There is nothing around the Hotel, just offices and business buildings. One Hotel like any other.

"TOTAL RIP OFF"
MiriamK608, 25 Mai 2017

I booked two rooms for seven nights at this Best Western hotel. Several weeks in advance of arrival I contacted Hotels.com both by email and by telephone to change my booking for one room from single to double occupancy. When I turned up at the hotel they insisted that this was a change of booking and increased the room rate by a multiple of 2.6 times on the basis that it was a new booking (this cost me an extra €1,078 for the room) - I couldn't move to another hotel as Dusseldorf was booked out for a large trade exhibition. I again contacted Hotels.com several times and wasted more that 3 hours trying to have the matter resolved but got no satisfaction from either Best Western or Hotels.com. Basically, I was ripped off by the hotel. Hotels.com were complicit in this as they made no effort to resolve the matter and, even worse, they continue to list this hotel on their website, potentially allowing other unsuspecting customers to be ripped off in the future. To compound matters the standard of the hotel rooms was very poor.

"Book eleswherr"
timrD611AT, 19 Avril 2017

Booked 6 -8 months in advance as part of a larger group. About 1 week prior to arriving we were told they moved us to another hotel; away from our group and much further away from the convention centre. To make matters worse we would need to have a rental vehicle and the new hotel after researching it was even lower quality. After protest and requesting to speak with the GM we were told the owner had said in essence "too bad nothing more they could do". Realizing how poorly the owner of the hotel dealt with the matter, Fair Point(sales management group) came to the rescue and found a closer hotel ( albeit still not with our group ) and agreed to pay the differential. Of all my years of travel and in the tourism and hospitality industry never have I experienced such poor treatment.

"Book Elsewhere"
Tim R, 01 Avril 2017

If you are considering this hotel look elsewhere! Booked this hotel about 8 months in advance as part of a group. Remaining with the group was important however within days I was told they had moved me to another hotel. When I attempted to contact the GM I was told by the sales department that the hotel owner did not want to discuss it there is nothing else they would do. After researching the new hotel I discovered it was much further away from the convention centre, away from my group , I would need a rental car and a step down in quality. Nothing else offered, too bad for me! After protest, credit to the management group Fairpoint, they recognized the poor treatment by the owner and they arranged a new hotel albeit still not with my group. Have travelled far and wide and have never received treatment like this and surely hope the owner of this hotel raises his standards or his ratings will continue going plummet.

"Functional would be an extremely generous way to describe this shabby disaster..."
Jake T, 27 Octobre 2016

Functional is about the best complement I can pay this decrepit, shabby excuse for a place to sleep. The whole place is unloved. Tall ceiling, bland white sterile rooms, reminded me of University halls the first day you move in. Bottle of water was a ludicrous E4.90. It is perhaps the most soulless hotel I've ever stayed in, with views overlooking an office block. No proper menu, just the snacks, though in fairness the pizza wasn't bad and the breakfast was very decent. Staff on the whole were very pleasant, except one lady who was very blunt the following morning. All in all, if you're desperate, and all other avenues, including a decent sturdy cardboard box, have been exhausted, you MIGHT consider staying here. Otherwise keep a wide berth.

"Great location to get away from the noise of Dusseldorf - clean convenient and great town"
Jacqueline M, 18 Juin 2016

It was good to be away from Dusseldorf and be in a quieter enclave. The hotel is in an industrial area designed for business people looking for somewhere to put their head down following a busy day and it serves this purpose well. The hotel is clean and purposeful. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The town of Neuss is a ten minute brisk walk and has lots of great places to eat and enjoy. Fit for purpose!

"Trip advisor should have a 'Weird' category"
cpg2054, 10 Juin 2016

There's nothing particularly wrong with this hotel, the room I had was clean and comfortable, but there are several strange things about it which add up to give a disquieting experience. For example, the entrance floor is usually called floor 0, in this hotel its called floor -1 even though it's at ground level. The lift buttons don't include floor 0 at all, and go -1,1,2,3,4. This has a certain logic to it but WHY?. The room numbers go from 100 to 115 and then on floor 2 go from 216 to 230, the pattern continues on the higher floors but again why?. My shower curtain would open but got hung up on a step in the rail when closing. The room had high ceilings and had a bad echo. My laptop went through the usual motions but refused to connect to the WiFi. The credit card terminal at the check-out desk was out of order !, The receptionist wrote out the credit card details manually and I'm waiting for the bill to arrive sometime soon. Breakfast was very average. Would I stay there again? probably not. As I said, it was a strange experience.

"Terrible"
David B, 09 Juin 2016

This hotel is one of the worst hotels in have been in for many years. They only provide snacks for dinner and the snack bowls were empty untill worker finally decided to fill up and many snacks were just laying around on the floor. The WiFi did not work. No fitness room. Mold in shower. Crack in sink. Well past its best before date. Buttons in the lift were illogically numbered. Doors did not have key cards but was given a key with a hefty key tag. Door very difficult to open. Get some key card will you! Took about 10 check out because the credit machine was down.

"WRONGLY LABELLED = NOT EVEN 1 STAR! NEVER AGAIN!"
Theo P, 25 Mai 2016

We were assigned a room (No. 462) which should have never been given to anyone, Maybe we asked for an "Upgrade" and this was wrong. Discovering all the defects after midnight meant we stayed and gave a list of defects to the receptionist. The apology consisted of 2 small packages with chocolate-pralinées. The defects were: 1: A long crack in the handwas-basin, 2.:The bathroom heating defect due to a defect/missing switch, 3.:The floor carpet with holes and dirt, 4.: The Entrance Lamp not functioning, 5.: The shower curiain hanging partially loose, 6.:Ugly remains of something removed from the tiled bathroom-wall visible and disgusting! These were not "new" defects! So this Hotel sells such rooms in such a bad state already for some time. Otherwise: Average breakfast. Do not even think of choosing this place!

"Pretty standard but OK"
TerribleSnowman, 25 Mai 2015

The hotel is in Neuss, not in Düsseldorf (the other side of the river). The map on Tripadvisor shows a wrong location. Neuss is quite a good place to stay, actually. Less traffic hassle, more parking space than in Düsseldorf and plenty of nice restaurants. You can get to the Düsseldorf Messe in 20 minutes. There is even a light rail from Neuss to Dusseldorf The hotel is pretty basic though a bit outdated. Do not expect a cozy atmosphere. But for a business trip it was very adequate. Breakfast was included and pretty good. Free parking, close to the main roads, free wifi.

"Think Premier Inn Minus Food Next Door"
Stuart M, 24 Septembre 2014

So your firm sends you to your Neuss office for a few days or a week and you're thinking ..."another week in Neuss, hope I get a good hotel again" - and you get the CB Business Düsseldorf and you think, “sounds okay". Well, think again bud...this is not your average Business Hotel. We ended up here as everywhere else was full due to some big conferences going on but it's work so you just get on with it. It's a budget job so make the most of it; expect a functional Premier Inn or Travel Lodge Minus. And by the way, this hotel is in Neuss, not Dusseldorf, it's like Ryanair saying they fly from Glasgow when it's really Prestwick... i.e. it's a 35 Euro taxi ride away. Your get a functional room, plenty of space, desk, good sized bathroom with a shower you can actually stand under. The room's fine for getting your head down and I'm writing this using their wi fi 5 floors up that's a bit hit and miss... Nothing you can't cope with if you've a decent tablet or laptop. The (basic) bar is also the breakfast room and the breakfast is basic fare, but that's okay, you can improvise and fill yourself even if you're not a fan of continental bread, cheese and spam The town of Neuss - with a great selection of places to eat at all prices - is a 15 minute walk from the hotel and it's in a straight line, so even I can manage to get back after a few Pilsner's. Near the hotel is a large shopping centre with plenty of places to eat and that is open until 20.00 Monday to Saturday, it has a large supermarket so you can stock up on the snacks the hotel doesn't have.

"Basic, but fair"
toto2000Heesch, 02 Novembre 2012

Basic hotel for a very fair price - I paid 53€ per night, whereas optional breakfast was only 5€ Wifi NOT included in the price! Restaurant only serves "snacks" but as these include "Strammer Max" and Pizza's this is no issue (for a single night)

"Business hotel"
Jouni49, 25 Mai 2012

We stayed in this hotel few night during DRUPA Fair, as we really did not wish to pay the incredibly high Dusseldorf fair season hotel rates. You will survive in this hotel especially if you arrive by car, but I'm not sure are you going to like it. It is a bit like 80's East Europe lodgings, swo do not believe much in those multiple stars. The good things are, that the hotel has free parking, is relatively easy to find when arriving to Dusseldorf (you should have an exact address, as the hotel is hidden in a backyard), you will get a good night sleep, and the cost is not bad. The access to Dusseldorf and back by car is also good. There are drawbacks however. I did not like the 3rd floor strong cigarette smell, which also penetrated our room. The restaurant is very basic, where you can have a decent breakfast and a sandwich or a heated pizza at night. The room is also basic and a bit worn out, the internet complicated and costly as it seems to be all around Germany There seems to be a shopping center and a Swisshotel some distance away, but we do not feel like walking empty streets at night, and except those two sites, we did not find anything worth visiting close to the hotel at night, even by car. So you either have your Stammer Max sandwich at the tiny hotel restaurant, go to bed hungry or go by car to find a restaurant somewhere. This hotel is OK if you move by car, are in a business trip, do not wish to pay too much, and accept only basic comfort. But for a tourist wishing to walk around and to see the Altstadt and so on, this may not be the place.
