The Best Western Hotel Del Rio offers the classical ambiance of Mexico, while at the same time, the guest rooms make you feel as if you are in your own home (su casa). The pool offers year-round swimming in our tropical temperatures, or you may enjoy walking the grounds as the parrots fly between the large trees surrounding the hotel. You may choose to dine by the pool or inside our restaurant Los Arcos, where you will encounter an array of regional specialties, as well as international cuisine. Native Indian dances and traditional music are available on request. During your stay with the Best Western Hotel Del Rio, we offer guided tours to our nearby pristine beaches, boating in the bird-filled estuaries on the Sea of Cortez or river trips. Trips are also available to the nearby colonial town of Alamos, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre. Get to know our native people (the Mayo), who are excellent artisans. Enjoy your stay.
Well, when you travel with pets, you probably aren't going to get the best rooms. Which we didn't. We where in the back of the hotel. But we could park our car in front of our room which was packed with our belongings. The bathrooms were very smelly. The room was very basic and beds were like rocks. We sat outside with our dogs for dinner at their restaurant t which was fine. The air had the smell of a barn. I know this was not the hotels fault. But it smelled like we were at a farm. It was quite strong. It wasn't until we left the next day that we drove by miles of animal lots! We didn't stay for breakfast. Many people apparently use this hotel as a stopping point and cars and people were leaving early to get on the road. So you could hear the people getting in their cars and making noises. So I was up at 5. It is pretty much just a stopping off hotel while driving through Mexico. Can't expect too much but a clean bed and very basic accommodations. we decided we were not going to stop there on the way back to puerto Vallarta.
BW del Río is always a safe & friendly stop on the way North. Staff is welcoming, rooms are clean and the food is good! Our trip to the boarder (north) took about 8 hours with two gas stops. Border crossing took about 30 minutes.
Probably one of the nicest best westerns that I have ever stayed in! The breakfast buffet was awesomely good, it cost about $42 US dollars for 4 adults and 4 children. We have made this the place where we rest on our travels to southern Mexico. Not just the best western it's El BestWestern! Lol
Our room smelled heavily of air freshener. There was only 1 towel, asked for more, still not there when we got back from dinner, had to ask again. We are in our room with the door locked at 8:30 p.m. when the door opened! The security guard opened the door without even knocking!! The room was very dark, inadequate lighting. And there was a party somewhere on the compound that went on until 3:00 A.M. with VERY loud music and lots of shouting!
The room smelled and the sheets pillow cases not changed from previous guest. Bathroom smelled of urine. Gym extremely dirty and lacked proper equipment. The staff was excellent changed our beds but best they could do. Room was pre-paid so no return of money and because in Mex little option find new room. The restaurant and food was exceptional. The room & breakfast was $1000 pesos.

Sorry for your none pleasant stay in BW Navojoa Mex. This is Best Western Sonora Inn and Suites in Nogales Az. Please remove your negative comment.
This hotel requires a SEVERE Makeover. The hotel beds were more than 15 years old - terribly uncomfortable, and downright disgusting (Yellow Beds). The hotel room itself must have also been flooded recently as the entire room had a very bad odor - the bathroom where the water run-off seemed to be (below the shower drain) was the worst area affected by the rancid smells. But the poor quality didn't end just at the malnourished hotel bedroom, each night for dinner we went to the local restaurant on-site: We continuously waiting over 40min for meals. I had had the last straw once we waiting 45min for soup and a salad! I would NEVER Recommend this hotel (and I travel ALOT in Mexico and can for the most part deal with non-ideal circumstances but this place was a pit!). We nicknamed this hotel "The Worst Western". I am surprised Best Western is outright ashamed of having their name tied to this place. Oh! Also, the last night I stayed there gun shots rang out at midnight from the parking lot. Do yourself a favor and RUN!

Have stayed here several times before. This last time was the worst. Bought two rooms one the a/c hardly worked. Ordered dinner at the restaurant. The food is ok but took over an hour to bring me my plate. The rest of my family had eaten and then had gone to bed before I ever got my meal. In the morning we went for the “free continental breakfast”. After eating a mediocre buffet I cashed in my breakfast coupons only to receive a 700 peso bill. They said the buffet was not included in the “free continental breakfast”. That only includes toast juice and yogurt and a fruit. I had asked at check in if it covered the buffet they told me yes it did. Long story short they never honored their word and I got stuck with a 700 peso bill. Supper frustrating since we delayed our departure by an hour and half to the border to cash in on the breakfast. Will be looking for a different place to stay.
We stayed here one night driving north back to Canada. Pet friendly, clean, decent restaurant. It was a little noisy from a sporting team staying there. So that would be my complaint was the noise. Besides that Good place to stay going thru. Will stay here again.
The Best Western Del Rio in Navajoa is under new management since about November 2017, and they need hotel school. We have been guests here across ten years, endured their extensive renovation, and today's check-in on a reservation (made mid April 2018) will probably be our last. While linens are new, rooms spacious, great well priced restaurant, & better wifi & cable televisions the rooms are not consistently clean & plumbing is spotty as sink or showers do not drain well. Our room had no working phone or sink, the king bed was gone and a queen set was shoved against the headboard, the AC wall unit was filthy, bath towels were missing, and we lacked a chair for the bistro table. Following three trips to the front desk and two hours after checking in our problems have not been corrected. The desk clerk reports the hotel is full, so they can not change our room. Pass on this hotel, and Best Western should do a better inspection.
We normally stay at Fiesta in Navojoa as we travel to & from the border, but thought we'd try the Best Western this trip. Rooms are run down. No towels when we checked in. The restaurant experience was horrible! Not a friendly place you would typically find in Mexico. They hovered behind us as we finished a mediocre dinner, like they couldn't wait for us to leave. Wouldn't stay here again.
We had a very poor sleep at this hotel last time we stayed here due to a noisy motorcycle rally that stayed at same hotel. I was reluctant to stay there again, but decided to give it another chance. We had another very poor sleep due to a very loud karaoke party that went until about 3:00 AM. I complained to reception at about 1:00, but nothing changed as a result. On the positive side, the room was spacious and clean. The restaurant service was very good and the food was average to above average. The internet was also adequate. Another issue I had is with BW reservations. I booked this room using the BW reservation system and paid MXN 1,060. Had I showed up at the door, I was told by reception staff that the price would have been only MXN 850 for the same room. If other readers plan to stay there, I recommend calling the hotel to check price including tax. In summary, I will be giving this property a pass next time we need to stay in that city. There are other nearby hotels that are less expensive and I would like to think less noisy.
Rooms were fine, staff was very helpful, dinner was good , great breakfast included in the morning. Would stop here again! $860 pesos very reasonable. Try not to get room closest to the highway, Small town seemed very clean.Q
We stopped after driving 12 hours, all we wanted is a comfortable bed, shower and watch a little TV. We were first put in a room that the Television did not work, also had several dead insects! Our room was changed -had to move all belongings not what you want to do after a hard day. In this room there were more than 10 dead we believe crickets. Stuffing coming out of the pillows, 1 wash cloth and OMG the bed was the worse ever! HARD-mattress on a cement slab, why not just put a sheet on the cement? I will not be back!! I do want to add that Luis and the security guard were very nice and tried to help as much as possible.
We were on a road trip with our yellow labrador and needed a dog friendly place. This hotel is fine for Mexico. The price was right and our dog was comfortable, plenty of places to walk her. The staff at check-in was very gracious and helped me with my very limited Spanish. Our bed was typical, which means hard and small compared to what we are used to in the US, no big deal. The room wasn't cleaned to my standards, especially the bathroom. My feet were black from walking across the carpet. Overall, I didn't expect much and so it was fine. The food in the adjacent restaurant was mostly horrible. I ordered fish Vera Cruz style and it tasted like it had been dragged through the mud; I literally took one bite of fish and stopped. I ate the veggies, but I think they were frozen carrot/broccoli out of a bag. Thankfully there were chips and salsa (good salsa and really good guacamole!). My husband ordered enchiladas and the cheese, was actually American Cheese...and I don't mean the good kind from Wisconsin, I mean the kind that isn't really cheese, that comes between 2 pieces of plastic and would stick to a wall if pressed. If we travel back through Navojoa with our dog, we would stay here again; but I definitely would not eat there and I'd wear slippers in the room at all times. Parking was right in front of the room and very secure. The whole place felt very safe and the grounds are well cared for. People were enjoying the pool and the evening and we saw other people with dogs and some nice families playing with kids in the pool.
It has been 6 or 7 years since we have visited Hotel Del Rio and we are grateful to see it has been maintained in its high quality of service. The lovely grounds are clean and well kept. Our room was clean, bright and the beds firm and well made. Hotel Del Rio welcomes dogs which is a rarity in Mexican hotels. No charge for dog. Our very tasty breakfast was included in the price. An excellent value and experience.
Was traveling north to the US border. Hotel is on the main road going north and very easy to find. Hotel has all the basic comforts. Check in and check out were very easy. Desk personnel speak English. Older motel and is being adequately maintained. Did not try the food. Convenience store within a block with the basics (cold refreshments).
This hotel has a nice appearance, but the rooms need badly an overhaul to their rooms, the staff is helpful and professional. Decent breakfast included, the waiters are helpful and well trained. Nice outside swimming pool.
Located in the city of Navojoa in the southern portion of the state of Sonora, about 600 miles (an 8 hour drive) south of Nogales, and two miles north of the center of Navojoa the recently renovated, and now pet friendly, the Best Western HACIENDA DEL RIO HOTEL offers, besides the rooms, the pool, the gardens, the outdoor terrace, the restaurant, and the conference center, an interactive experience with the Mexican culture. If you are looking for a Holiday Inn or a Comfort Inn, this may not be your best choice. This hotel regularly books weddings on weekends, so if you are dead tired and just want to sleep, this may not be a good choice. On the other hand if you want to experience the lifestyle and culture of the Mexican people, this is the place. Overall we enjoyed every minute of our weekend stay, including a wedding celebration that started at 5:00 pm and lasted until 10:00 pm. We stayed in room 113 across from the pool, and the celebration was loud and entertaining. The hotel restaurant used to be great, but is in serious decline due to cost cutting and mismanagement--on my birthday I had an awful dinner, and the next day breakfast was underwhelming (see separate article). The rooms, which include bottled water (do not drink tap water), all Spanish-speaking television channels, and free WiFi, are clean, comfortable, well furnished (coffee maker and refrigerator), and with ample storage. The hotel provides 24-hour security guards on the property. We use this hotel or the Hotel Hacienda de Los Cazadores next door as headquarters for our trips to visit the nearby colonial town of Alamos, the Mayo Indian Ejidos in Huatabampo, and the beaches at Huatabampito.
We stayed here 7 years ago. Outside has been upgraded nicely. Rooms still the same. Typical hard Mexican beds, old tile. They do their best to keep it clean. Good stopover place driving between Arizona and Mazatlan. Pretty good restaurant in the hotel.
Needed a safe place to stop between AZ and Central Mexico and based on FB posts selected Hotel Del Rio. What a lovely place for the night--pool was beautifully maintained--right down to the young man sweeping up the ripe mangoes that fell from the trees. Our room was comfortable--although small, but efficient for a night. We ate at the Los Arcos Restaurant (part of the hotel) and considered having our meal by the pool, but thunderstorms helped us make a better choice. Excellent food, lots of options, good wine list and attentive service.
We stopped here on our way travelling through from Nogales to Rincon de Guayabitos both ways. Both nights the place was good. The restaurant is tasty, although I could have done without the breakfast. Our room was a suite #167 and we liked it. Our daughters had roo #166 and it had cockroaches so they had to be moved. I think the maid just didn't do a very good job of sweeping and checking There are cockroaches everywhere in Mexico. They moved them swiftly so it was all good. The pool area is really nice and there is a place to eat outdoors which is also nice. On site security as well which was nice, considering we had our trailer with us of household goods.
The hotel is lovely. It is located at the north edge of town on the Rio Mayo. Unfortunately they have an internet system that requires that you log on again any time you leave your system idle 5 minutes. I ate dinner at the hotel's restaurant an the service was abysmally slow. Especially considering that there were only me and one table with four people in the restaurant and about a dozen wait-staff. I ordered two shots of tequila and they tried to charge me for four. The waitress said to me "the shot glass is two orders'!!! La instalacion es excelente, pero el servicio no es muy bueno. Sea atento en el restaurant y revisa la cuenta antes de pagar.
Nice big clean room, and like most Best Westerns it's dog-friendly. Room has a kitchenette which is always a plus. The restaurant was fine, but not outstanding. The staff are very courteous and friendly. The wifi is very good when it works, but I have to mention that it stopped working earlier tonight when I tried to submit a review to tripadvisor. It seems they chose a really bad time to reset the username and password. I had to start over and rewrite my review. Too bad for them, this review would have been better had that not happened.

Hello, first of all, thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at our hotel. There was some people making bad use of our network and it was affecting the wifi perfomance on many guests, thats why we had to reset the system and fix it. We do apologize the inconvenience this caused you. We will make sure it wont happen again. It was a pleasure serving you. Best Regards Management
200 characters is too many. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it to others, especially if they have a dog. Not many hotels in Mexico allow dogs. Breakfast was very good. Rooms and beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly.
I stopped here after reading a review on Trip Advisor and was pleased to see that it was accurate. I was greeted in the office by a nice young lady who spoke English, (not an issue for me because I speak Spanish). The room was clean and well-kept as was the bathroom. I found the wifi signal strong and easily accessible with plenty of bandwidth. Though I stayed only one night I wouldn't hesitate to stay longer and enjoy what seemed to be a very nice pool area.
Best Western Del Rio, located north in Novajoa, is a very nice hotel to stop at on your way coming or going to Nogales from Puerto Vallarta. Although the hotel was under some renovation this visit, it was no problem to enter the lobby or dining facility. They offer a good breakfast included with the room and are pet friendly. The showers are hot and the rooms are very clean with bottled water available. They have fast WiFi and several TV channels to choose from. The pool is very well maintained and a is nice to sit around while having breakfast. The price is very reasonable. Parking is staffed 24 hours with a security guard.
Stayed here 2 days to visit Alamos (where hotels are over-priced). I was able to get a very good weekday rate and like the fact they don't charge extra for pets. The property itself is pleasant with nice landscaping. Due to the location off the main highway it can be noisy at night; fortunately I had ear plugs (which are a must-have if you are in Mexico for very long). No problems with wi-fi. Typical hard Mexican mattresses (I forgot my mattress topper). The staff was helpful. So my only complaint is the noise but we are in Mexico where noise is the norm rather than the exception.
We stayed here for just one night while driving to Mexico City. It offers everything you need at a good price. The restaurant is also pretty decent. Our only complaint was that the air unit in our room was really loud so it couldn't regulate the temperature in the room. The staff were helpful and we liked that they didn't charge an extra fee for our pet to stay with us. A nice central garden added to our enjoyment of the place.
People outside the room talking loud and car doors opening and closing until 1:30am. Not exactly conducive to a good night's sleep. Rooms are functional and clean, but dated. Restaurant food was good.

On a two-day driving trip from Arizona to Mazatlan, this hotel was the perfect place to spend the night. The rooms were clean and comfortable, excellent wi-fi service and comfortable beds. With the pool and trees and shrubs and flowers all well-cared for, the hotel has a very welcoming, comfortable feel. All good.

Hello Thanks for completing the survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel. We are very happy to hear you had a good experience. We hope to see you again soon. General Manager
The room was very, very nice, almost a mini-suite. Could not figure out how to connect wi-fi. Had the most noisy, ignorant folks in next room. Everything from car alarm at 2 am, to many dogfights! Lots of very loud conversation and they loved to hit the walls with what I guess was the furniture. Not a very restful night. I would rate this hotel very good if not for noise level.

This hotel was a pleasant peaceful stop on our way south. They welcomed our pets. Food and drink were tasty. Did not try the pool but area around pool and outside eating looked inviting.Occupied rooms were spaced so avoided neighbor disturbances.
We have traveled from Puerto Vallarta to the USA many times in the 12 years living in PV. We always stay at this hotel because it is very clean and service is great and their restaurant is excellent. The grounds are very tropical and lush and the pool is also nice.
Quiet, clean, comfortable. Beautiful gardens around a warm and clean pool. The manager helped me find a doctor who had a prescription sent to the hotel quickly and at no charge. I booked the hotel after friends told me it would be perfect for me and my dog. It was. I'll return in two weeks. Whoops. Good restaurant too.
Restaurant was excellent. Room was very clean and no noise in the area. Hotel staff was well trained and provided best in class service. We make this hotel a must stay on our travels in the Sonora area.
We always look forward to staying at the Best Western del Rio in Navojoa. Service is always excellent and we appreciate that we can have our pets with us. Employees are friendly and helpful at all times.
Beautiful grounds and well maintained. Restaurant provided excellent food and service. Guest rooms are in need of an update though. I travel to Vallarta every year and this was a first time stopping here. It's a very comfortable setting and I would consider staying here again in future trips back and forth.
