Best Western Plus
We Loved the feel of this hotel. Friendly customer service from check in to the complimentary breakfast. The only negative might be for some people is the traffic noise you can hear from the window. Our room was on the 3rd floor facing the street and you could definitely hear the cars below. This wasn't a problem for us we still loved the hotel.
Cute, clean, and convenient. Fabulous staff. Would love to revisit. Minor detail but upon return to hotel ~11PM Saturday night, no parking in lot but we did find street parking nearby. This property definitely improved our perceptions of Best Westerns!
Cute little inn very comfy beds, great rates, great walk to downtown restaurants, great cookies and healthy drinks at 1800, very nice front desk staff, beautifully tastefully designed rooms, parking is good etc... Will surely be our home when visiting napa and san Francisco
This was a very nice hotel. We had gone up for a benefit concert in Napa and found this place on line. It was quaint, having a lot of the charm that you'd expect in Napa. A quick jog into town, made it easy to get around. Our room had a fireplace which did not work. Management could not fix it, but it was a minor problem - compared to all the amenities. Great, friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Clean, cozy, spacious, comfortable beds, Nice breakfast, quiet neighbourhood, friendly staff, great cookies, easy parking lot, guest laudry ... we had all we wanted! A few min drive To napa restaurants. It was great, we truly recommend this BWplus.
On a recent visit to see a friend in Napa, she warned me that hotel prices were high. She was right. The Elm House Inn was reasonably priced, in a quiet neighborhood, and not your typical Best Western hotel. It was built in 1988 as an inn, and taken over by the Best Western in the late 1990's. The common room was cozy, like an internal courtyard with a height ceiling and internal rooms around the balcony. Our room was nicely furnished, though not large....there was a small table with chairs looking out on the parking lot. I suspect that the second floor rooms might have been more private. There was a nice covered outside patio, and a beautifully planted area around the hot tub featuring some nice seating area. Milk and hot chocolate chip cookies are served at 6:00 p.m. In the morning, I sat out on the patio with coffee. It was a bit chilly, and the server kindly offered to turn on the heater for me. The staff were all very friendly. Breakfast is included, with limited served offerings. The choices were either a waffle or a poached egg. A nice bowl of fresh fruit complimented the freshly made little blueberry loaves. There were additional breakfast offerings.
We had the great opportunity to stay here on our trip in California. Our room was great and the morning breakfast was outstanding. It was a relaxing time spent in a beautiful city. I also want to give a shout out to Michael. He was extremely helpful at the front desk with directions and involved with making our morning breakfast great.
Now this is how a small, Best Western Plus hotel should be run. It is just a 15 minute walk from downtown Napa and I rather liked the stroll to dinner and back. I booked a room at short notice - the check-in people were very nice, the room spacious and gracious, the bathroom had everything you need. There were a few free drinks and snacks in the evening, a lovely breakfast in the morning and, perhaps most importantly, everyone that worked at the hotel was very nice, friendly and helpful. Thanks!
Great property that we decided upon at the last minute. Very clean, nicely appointed and priced right, and about a mile easy walking distance from Napa proper The ‘continental' breakfast was right on, including great coffee. We definitely recommend this property and we'llbe Back!
A quiet homey Inn in the middle of bustling Napa. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a quiet room to relax in. Can't say enough good things about the breakfast I have never had a sweet potato waffle served as a continental breakfast before. It was lovely as was the kindness of the kitchen staff in making sure the food was appealing and tasty!
This hotel is a hidden gem. I felt like I was stepping into a boutique hotel in Napa. Rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Cookies in the afternoon were a tasty treat. Breakfast in the morning was just what we needed to get ourselves going. There were these tiny lemon poppy loaves-freshly baked-that were to die for!!! Hot tub outside was very relaxing. Front desk and breakfast servers were pleasant and friendly. The hotel was quiet and has parking. I will return.
This hotel has all the amenities of a hotel along with the quaintness and personal touches of a bed and breakfast. It is absolutely beautiful. All the staff we encountered were the friendliest, most helpful people. The breakfast area is set up like your typical, self-serve hotel breakfast, but they go way over and beyond to make it a nice experience. Everything is displayed beautifully, and if you would like one of their delicious waffles, they make it for you. The outside patio and garden area are the most serene I've see at a hotel. Downtown Napa was a little far for me to walk, about a mile, but it's a quick drive. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to my family and friends who might visit Napa.
This BW has the formula! Beautiful lobby that says boutique inn. Water and good coffee 24/7. Carefully laid out breakfast with host prepare waffles, toast and poached eggs. Lovely prepared fruit and fabulous coffee. Our room was large with two sink areas, comfy and beautiful bed and great privacy. Guest laundry was a godsend. Hotel is biker friendly.
Our trip to Napa Valley simply would not have been the same without our stay at the Elm House Inn. From check-in, whereupon we discovered that they had gone out of their way to make our 20th anniversary so special with their thoughtfulness, to check-out this was one wonderful stay. The almost B&B like feel and coziness extended to the wonderful breakfast with incredibly attentive staff and baked treats in the afternoon. On top of the attributes of the hotel and staff themselves, it is positioned ideally- near the highway, but a decent walk to downtown and the abundance of high quality wine, beer, and food. How does another Best Western top this site? I'd like to know. Until then, we will plan on making it back here as soon as we can manage. Thank you Best Western Plus Elm House Inn for helping to make our anniversary trip unforgettable. (Oh, and sweet potato waffles are now a staple in our home thanks to you!!)
Stayed here for two nights with my family. We had initially booked just the one night but liked it so much that we decided to stay for one more. Michael went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. It's been a long time since I felt so at home at a hotel. This place really is a gem.
This hotel is right off Highway 29 and within walking distance to downtown Napa, where we strolled for 4th of July fireworks. For a BW, this place had a lot of character. Our room was huge - with a couch, fireplace, high ceilings, bathroom with a separate sink and vanity area. We were so comfortable there. The whole property is cozy and quaint. The hot tub was large and the perfect hot temperature. Breakfast items were very well stocked and tasty. We enjoyed the cookies in the evening. A well-run property!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a positive review! We truly take pride in our unique property and our staff! We hope to welcome you both back soon! Warm Regards, Lucy Ayala Manager
This was our first visit to Napa and we were looking for a hotel that was convenient for traveling around the area. This hotel was great. We had a room in the annex which was large and very clean. Maybe a little dated but laid out nicely. There was a full bathroom and also a separate area with a sink and generous counter area. Lots of hanging space and a fridge were also included. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was included and it was generous. A highlight was the home made cookies they put out every evening for the guests to enjoy. The public area was small but they had a few tables on a patio that were a nice spot for breakfast or a glass of wine. The hotel was not within walking distance of restaurants or stores but there was free parking for our rental. We used Uber several times and they were always quick and reasonable from this location. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we revisit the area.

This could possibly be the quaintest BW ever tucked away & a short stroll in to town Super comfortable accommodations & delightful staff made our stay wonderful Of note: Stock up the travel cooler as there is a great market / store across the street

This is our third visit and each stay is just like the first. Though located at the beginning of the wineries it is easy on off the highway. It is close to supermarket for incidentals. The personal touch of the breakfast and afternoon snacks is wonderful. When you are there you would not believe it was a best western

Thank you Marc for taking the time to review our hotel! We appreciate your feedback and helpful hints for future guests. We look forward to having you back for your forth visit very soon! Best, Lucy Ayala
Room: Comfy bed, clean linens, plentiful Towels and bathroom amenities. Fridge was "micro" OK for a 1 night stay but "Not Really"! Breakfast: Very Nice-Simple but High Quality; Quickly made - Staff made waffles ( Sweet potato Waffles-OK & Regular-NICE!) Breakfast staff very available and attentive. Service: Above average/Exceptional! Cleanliness: No complaints! Would stay again when in Napa!

Thank you YellowFever71 for taking the time to review our hotel. We truly appreciate your valued feedback. Im glad you enjoyed your overall stay with us specifically our amazing staff and high quality breakfast. We hope to see you on your next trip to wine country! Warm regards, Lucy Ayala
We had stayed at this inn on our last trip to Napa so knew that we wanted to stay again for the price, ambiance, hominess, and comfort. This hotel has earned its ratings by giving personal attention to guests, providing a comfortable and welcoming lobby with sofas, tables, fireplace, books to share, freshly baked cookies, and a delicious, included breakfast (more on this). We had requested an entry level king room on the third floor and were easily accommodated. The hotel does provide an elevator (small, but sufficient). Our room looked much like the photos online: flowered comforter, window a/c, windows that opened (a real plus if the nights are cool enough to open the windows), a room refrigerator, coffee maker, ample lighting, work station, closet, dressing area with sink and counter separate from the bathroom. The bathroom offered an additional sink with counter, toilet, and shower. All areas were shiny clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The next morning we awoke to the tantalizing smell of fresh baked cinnamon goods. The smell was so enticing! When we arrived at breakfast, freshly cut, fragrant roses graced every table. The breakfast area was set with various cereals, coffees, freshly cut cantaloupe and strawberries, oatmeal with numerous toppings, bagels and bread, hard boiled eggs, and "there it was: freshly baked blueberry muffin cakes!" We were offered homemade waffles or poached eggs from the kitchen. Guests were enjoying the sweetly scented smell of the home baked goods along with the delicious taste of them. There was seating inside and outside on a small, enclosed terrace. Staying at the Elm Inn is more like staying at a Great-Aunt's house where you are looked after and provided with the best there is to offer in pampering. This will continue to be our hotel of choice in the area. Convenient to downtown Napa, Route 29, and the Wine Train (about 1 mile or less).

Pam, WOW! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this amazing review! We love that our Inn gives you the feeling of home away from home. We look forward to welcoming you when you return. Warm regards, Lucy Ayala.
We had a quick trip to Napa and wished we could have stayed longer. I found this hotel through tripadvisor and am so glad I listened to the reviews. Definitely more like a B&B than a hotel. I also rarely (if ever) stay at a Best Western property so this was truly a nice surprise! This is an older property, so if you're looking for new and fancy this is probably not for you. However, it is in wonderful condition, it's clean, quiet and comfortable, and the property managers are absolutely lovely. The location is great - just a short walk to downtown Napa. But, the best part of the stay is the delicious breakfast that is included with the relatively inexpensive cost of the stay. This is not your typical "breakfast included" hotel. We would absolutely stay there again - hopefully for more than one night next time!

We pulled in late and were concerned that we had made a poor choice in accommodations. But then we entered and our fears were put to rest. The service was over the top, and the hotel is truly lovely. Small and compact with a huge heart!!

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel We are always delighted to know we went above your expectations and look forward to always raising the bar of service. We hope to welcome you back on your next trip to wine county, Warm regards, Lucy Ayala
Except for slow check in and check out this is an excellent place to stay. The breakfast and homemade cookies at 6 PM were great. The only drawback was that there wasn't anything to do nearby at night. No small town shopping or even an ice cream shop or somewhere to hang out. Napa town only has restaurants open, shops closed early. Would have loved to go to local shops in the evening.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are happy to hear you enjoyed our amenities. Our staff is trained to give every guest the most attentive and detailed service possible which at times may lead to not as quick check in/out process but our quality of service remains high. We look forward to welcoming you back on your return to Napa Valley. Best, Lucy Ayala
My daughter & I recently traveled to Napa and stayed at the Best Western Elm House Inn. We loved it. Loved everything about it - rooms were roomy & comfortable, staff was awesome and the breakfast was fantastic.
This small hotel was absolutely gorgeous and the room was beyond our expectation in terms of comfort and decor. The common areas were beautifully decorated and the breakfast was much nicer than most hotel breakfasts. We could tell that the owners and their employees worked very hard to make our stay as nice as it was.
Good hotel to stay in Napa - easy drive out of town to all wineries. You can walk to center of Napa. Small hotel, with a comfortable atmosphere and the rooms are a good size. A little road noise, not unbearable.
Best Western that actually has more of a BnB feel. Customized service, warm cookies in the evening, pleasant breakfast, beautiful decor but mattress, nice gas fireplace but bedding and pillows need an update. Mattress and pillows were too stiff for my taste and made sleeping difficult. We were in room 207 and it faces the street so we could hear all of the traffic till 11pm and starting in am last 5.
They served us delicious waffles for breakfast, something we don't find in other hotels or inns. Staffs are very caring and fast responding, room is very spacious with a beautiful garden. Highly recommended!
My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights for my birthday getaway and doing two days of wine tours in Napa and Sonoma. Check in was fast and easy, the woman at the front desk was very sweet and recommended restaurants for dinner which was wonderful. Our room had 2 queen beds and was very cozy with more than enough room for us. The bonus was there was an outer sink from the bathroom so we didn't have to wait for each other to get our 'faces on' before venturing out. The breakfast is here is wonderful. I had both the regular and sweet potato waffles and they were fantastic. Fresh fruit, cereal, oatmeal and home baked goods were also available. Coffee and tea also. When we got back after our day of touring, there were warm baked cookies for the taking. When you enter the inn it always had the aroma of freshly baked goods. The grounds and patio are full of flowers and kept immaculately. The fireplace was lit at night, comfortable furniture in the lobby and rooms, very clean and friendly staff. They are located a minute from the highway and a short drive from downtown. I would stay here in a heartbeat again and highly recommend this quaint inn.
A perfect inn for visiting Napa. Charming, comfortable, small-scale. The location is perfect: easy-on/easy-off highway for visiting Napa Valley places like Yountville and St. Helena, but equally easy to get to downtown Napa itself.Amazing fresh-baked things at breakfast plus fresh fruit, etc. Comfortable lobby and nice hot tub plus outdoor seating in garden area. We would definitely go out of our way to stay there again.
We spent one night in Napa for a conference and chose the Elm House Inn primarily for it's location. We were so pleased with the experience and I recommend it to anyone wishing to explore downtown Napa. The hotel is in a neighborhood but you are only a block away from 1st St. where there are lots of shops and restaurants. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding...so much nicer than trying to track down a place for coffee and a light bite. This hotel is clean, staff is friendly and even the lobby with it's fireplace and reading material is nice to hang out in.
Such a lovely hotel! The staff were beyond helpful and so friendly. The hotel was lovely and very quiet. It is about a 15 minute walk into the main town, but all through quiet residential streets so was very easy to do. The main bonus for me was the choice of Gluten free breakfast options. They had fruit toast, or plain toast, plus yoghurt, fruit and other items that were coeliac friendly. Doesn't happen often so I was really grateful for this. Excellent stay, would highly recommend
We only stayed for one night at the House. It's a very njice clean place, with very helpful staff. An excellent breakfast, only the orange juice we felt it wasn't natural. Beside the juice, really excellent. I would recommend the place to stay. Very near is also a Premium Outlet.
Traveled to Napa for a girls' trip and so glad to have found the Elm House! It's comfortable (double rooms have two queens instead of two fulls), cozy, and the breakfast is plentiful and delicious. It's not the most modern or luxurious hotel I've stayed in, but it was charming and a wonderful value. I'd definitely stay there again!
The owner Tom is super friendly as are all the staff. Very clean although the decor is somewhat dated. Beds are very comfortable. Sweet potato waffles and poached eggs for breakfast were a delight. Super convenient to Highway 29 a huge plus.
This was just a phenomenal little spot to use as our home base while exploring the Napa Valley region. The hotel is so pretty, the rooms are clean and well decorated, and the breakfast! We had homemade quick breads, an amazing assortment of food to choose- lots of toppings for granola or oatmeal- It was such a pleasant surprise!
The Elm House was clean, friendly, cozy and so welcoming. The breakfast was better than you could ask for any any restaurant, delicious, great variety, and a staff who could not do enough for you. Location was a little too far to walk to downtown, but just minutes away by car and parking was not an issue.
We stayed here for two nights in early spring and even though it's a chain hotel, it operates like an inn. It's quaint and in an ideal location. For breakfast each morning, in addition to the usual fruits and yogurt, they make pancakes and other breakfast items per order. And each day, they have home-made coffee cakes and other bakes items that everyone found delicious.
We returned to BW Elm House for 3 nights. It is within walking distance of downtown Napa. The biggest drawback is noise from traffic on adjacent California Boulevard and from adjacent rooms. Rooms in the rear building are quieter than those in the main building. They still suffer from noise issues. The hotel offers a modified continental breakfast. Some items are provided to help yourself and some are by request. There is an onsite laundry, though hours are limited. A computer is available, though there is no “Business Center” or printer. Printing is available, if you email your document to the hotel management. Rooms in the back building (#402-405) are spacious. The decorative pillows on the bed seemed a bit musty. The pillow top on the mattress was a bit lumpy and thin in spots. I woke up and had to reposition in the night to get comfortable. There is a bathroom with tub/shower. Counter space is very limited. Towels are plentiful and of nice quality. There is an additional sink/counter in the closet. A small refrigerator is under the counter. Even on the lowest setting, everything froze solid in the refrigerator. The toilet ran periodically and the diverter for the tub/shower didn't work well. For a small hotel and $200/night, I'd expect everything to be in top repair. Parking is complimentary. Excellent cookies are available every evening at 6PM. We had a new housekeeper during our stay who “reset” and rearranged bedside tables, phone, clock, etc. in the midst of our stay. We would stay here again.
Charming small hotel in downtown Napa; offers the ambiance and experience of a small B&B. Pricing is very reasonable for a region known for exceptionally high tariff, particularly since it includes breakfast. Our room in the main building was a nice size, well appointed. Onsite parking available, although lot is small. This has become family's first choice when in Napa.
Some hotels just know how to meet all the basic needs perfectly and do it with a smile. You have many options to stay in Napa and the entire valley, but I really wouldn't look much further than Best Western Plus Elm House Inn. A great location to enjoy Napa and all its opportunities. Easy walk to downtown, and very convenient to the wine trail and Hwy. 29. The property is small, probably only 40 rooms, and the rooms are not spacious, but everything is very clean and well appointed. Great beds and terrific staff, willing to help with anything. The experience is almost like a Bed and Breakfast, but much more qualified as a perfectly charming hotel. Great breakfast! Enjoyable hot tub (no pool). All in all a great experience for business or leisure.
We stayed here on nights 2 to 5 of our 12 day trip. It was "hands down" the best stay of our trip and no other hotel even came close! Do not let the BEST WESTERN name fool you-- especially if you are from the east coast. This is a boutique hotel with a beautiful common area with a high ceiling and fireplace. The place was without a doubt the cleanest hotel that we have known. The beautiful breakfast, gourmet chocolate chip cookies (the name does NOT do them justice-they are not just chocolate chip cookies) and outstanding service made us want to take this hotel with us on our trip! My husband has traveled the world and he said this place was definitely top shelf. We used the hot tub one day which was great and the area was convenient to everything. Even the make- up mirror and great hair dryer in the bathroom were wonderful assets that no other hotels had. I wish I knew the names of all the people who were at the front desk because every single one was unbelievably kind and helpful in a world where this is not the norm! I am trying to duplicate those cookies-- I heard toasted coconut and nuts and freezing the dough were components that made them unique:) Awesome job, BW! Keep up the good work until we return! I am recommending you to all the travelers we know!
Stayed for the 3rd time here. Every time has been a very pleasant stay. Definitely my go to place when in Napa area. Highly recommend. Similar to a nice B&B. Very welcoming. The staff is exceptional and went out of the way to point us in the right direction for some places we were looking for.
Omg. I shouldn't rave too much or this hotel ( which feels much more like a classy/cozy bed and breakfast ) will never have availability when I want to come back. Most people come to Napa for the wineries- I come to stay HERE ( and the wineries ha). The owners have truly created something special from the beautifully tasteful décor, to the outstanding staff ( housekeeping , reception and the extremely high quality breakfast). I am very particular and this place is one of the best hotels I have EVER found. Again, these owners are to be congratulated!
What a brilliant place! Why? Well 1) the staff are so friendly and helpful; 2) there's a communal lounge where groups can meet up and enjoy drinks (and fresh cookies!) in large sofas by a lovely fire 3) there's a covered terrace and a spa 4) the continental breakfasts are excellent – and the walk to town is a comfortable distance. We chose this hotel for a family celebration and were delighted that we did.
A very pleasant little hotel. Was extremely surprised how nice it was. Staff were outstanding. Went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Yummy cakes, freshly baked and lovely breakfast included. Would definitely stay here again.
I had a room on the second floor, overlooking the common area/breakfast room on the lobby level and it was wonderful. A comfortable, clean space, it felt homey and warm. The service was especially good- with the front desk staff going above and beyond to provide advice and guidance about the local area.
This is our second stay at Elm House Inn and it just keeps getting better. So close to downtown Napa. We sleep here as if were at home. Our room is spotless. Staff is outstanding. Michael goes the extra mile and even accommodated us with an early check-in. The breakfast is great. Loved our hot coffee by their ambient warm fireplace. Wish we could stay a month or even longer.. Michael & Edith
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. It's well located on the corner of 2nd Street and California Boulevard. It's just off the freeway and it is a short walk into the compact centre of Napa. For those who like a bit of shopping - it is only 10 mins walk for some premium shopping outlets (Hilfinger, Levi, Gap, etc). The service is courteous and very friendly. The rooms are immaculately furnished and very well maintained. Sleep quality is good. There is a common area with a cozy fire during the cooler winter months. We also used the hot tub outside to help ease some sore muscles after trekking around Yosemite the previous few days.Breakfast is notable for some huge muffins, fresh fruit and waffles are also available to set you up for the day.
The location of the hotel is not in the center, but only less than a mile away. The hotel is located also at the busy street and the noise from there disturbs you a little in the morning. In the hotel you can find the type of service that you cannot forget - in the postive meaning. The front desk is so kind and gives all the needed information about the hotel and the city when you enter. The breakfast is also a joy, because of the wide selection of food and extremely kind and attentive service. When you accept the location and some noise from the street, then the rest is more than great during your stay. Thanks for the brilliant staff!
We thought this place was perfect for what we wanted. It was small and cozy, lovely fireplace in the lobby. Everything about this place was great, the rooms the continental breakfast and friendly service staff. Enjoyed our stay. My only issue was when we arrived the lady stated she had upgraded us to a fireplace room which was great. We get to the room and can't locate the fire key. So we call down to the room and the same lady tells us it doesn't work! Haha so aside from that, it was great. Would have no problem staying again. The vote was Close to everything as well.
Near downtown but with a different vibe, this place is a hidden gem in Napa. Clean, great breakfast waffle and poached eggs and more. Only downside is some traffic noise in certain rooms. A pleasant stay and nice friendly staff.
First time staying at the Best Western Elm House. Super friendly staff and easy check in. Small and cozy little hotel that doesn't disappoint. The owner was very kind and helpful and even packed us some fresh baked little sweet breakfast breads for the road. Enjoyed the ease of parking, how convenient it was to walk to downtown and never felt unsafe. Close to the Outlets if you need a shopping fix. Already booked for March Napa trip followed by another trip in July. It's that good!
My husband and I just stayed here for the 2nd time on a return trip to Napa. We looked at other hotels/house rentals but decided to return to the Elm House Inn based on our first experience. Both stays were outstanding. The check-in staff were friendly, warm, and helpful. The hotel itself feels like a lovely bed and breakfast - cozy and inviting. Our room was big, clean, and comfortable. It's located within walking distance (or a very inexpensive Uber ride) to some amazing restaurants and wine tasting rooms, and was on the list of available hotels for pick up by the wine tour we went on. The breakfast each morning was delicious - hot oatmeal, homemade waffles, fresh fruit. And the service was beyond impressive - everyone was friendly, warm, and catered to whatever we needed. On top of all of that, this hotel was extremely reasonable. I cannot recommend this place highly enough - it's one of the best places I've ever stayed!
We had such a wonderful stay here. There were freshly baked cookies when we checked in and the staff were all so friendly. The room was comfortable and inviting. Breakfast the following morning was fresh and delicious. We will definitely stay here again during our next visit to Napa.
Very well kept property run by delightful owner operators. Tom was welcoming, friendly and attentive to whatever small needs we had. When we arrived in Napa it was well before check in time, but we thought we would see if a room was ready as we had an event to attend. Tom, cheerfully checked for us and found a room that was ready. On our way out Tom advised us that some baked goods would be available later, and then offered to save some for us when we stated we would be back late. The rest of the staff was just as accommodating. The morning breakfast offering were very nice and we were especially impressed by the freshness and quality of the fresh fruits on offer compared to the tasteless, unripe varieties found at most breakfast buffets. Obviously some care was taken in their selection. I could go on but all in all it was a delightful, however short stay, but we will be back. I would like to note that when we travel, we often stay at the big chains using "points". The Best Western chain is not part of that rotation for us but we would gladly pay to stay at the Best Western Plus Elm House Inn again instead of elsewhere "for free". It was that nice.
Service is what makes any hotel a winner or loser. The Best Western Elm House Inn is a winner in service. The innkeeper makes you feel like a guest in his home. When you enter the breakfast area, he or his helper ask you immediately if they can make you a fresh waffle. They come around and refill your coffee in this self help continental breakfast area. They encourage you to enjoy the fresh baked muffins that were different each morning. We stayed in room 401 which is in the outer house. The room was huge. Huge closets, tons of counter space, huge shower and a jacuzzi tub( did not work that well) . The housekeeping staff were ready to clean your room immediately as you go to eat. As other reviews mentioned, the Inn has a nice fireplace in the common area, a nice Zen like patio outside with a few more tables for nice mornings and even a hot tub. Parking is on either side of the Inn which is located at the edge of town. We Ubered it to New Years Eve dinner downtown which was about a mile away. Overall, this is a clean and comfy place to stay at a reasonable rate.
My family took 8 rooms at the BW Plus Elm House Inn about 7 years ago for a milestone birthday celebration, and the proprietors were just wonderful to us - a mostly 50+ group of siblings and in-laws who incessantly voice our widely disparate opinions on just about everything. Well, we all loved the Best Western Elm House. Fast forward to last week, and a smaller group of us convened at the Elm House, and we loved it just as much. Super clean and comfortable rooms, delightful people at the small front desk and in the living room/breakfast area, and an included buffet breakfast that is right up there with the best restaurants in town. There is a hot tub in a wooden-fence-enclosed patio area, with a lift to allow the less-abled to enter and exit the tub. There are also nice tables and chairs on the patio off the living room. The breakfast is truly stellar. They will prepare waffles or eggs, and the buffet includes hot and cold cereals - with nuts, dried fruits and shredded coconut toppings - , yogurts, juices, bagels with toppings, really excellent coffee AND tea. But, as always, it's the people that can make or break a place, and from the people at the front desk to the groundskeeper, they all went out of their way to make sure our stay was the best it could be.
I stayed at this hotel since it was close to the site of my wine course (Napa Wine Academy). This is an absolute jewel of a hotel. Large rooms with good amenities. Fantastic filling breakfast served passionately. 20 minute walk or 5-minute Uber to Napa downtown restaurants. Will definitely stay here on my next visit to Napa.
Second time in 2 years I have stayed here, and I will be back. It is more of a Bed and Breakfast than a true hotel, so expect a relaxed and comfortable experience. The staff are super friendly and the rooms are nice, some very big. Great garden area and hot tub. Morning breakfast is fantastic, with terrific sweet potato waffles. Warm cookies and milk in the evening as well. Very centrally located, a prefect place to stay when visiting Napa!!
We stayed for 3 nights for our first time in Napa. We had a great experience here- I completely agree with the other reviews. The warm cookies in the lobby at 6pm were an added treat! Overall we would be happy to stay again.
More like staying in a B&B! Great, spacious rooms with great value. Friendly professional staff makes this even more pleasant. Continental breakfast in the morning is really good! Highly recommend a stay here if you are Winery hopping!
First off, calling it a hotel is a misnomer - this is more a B&B than a hotel. From the outside, and very much the inside, you think you are in a renovated charming old mansion. Large open interior courtyard, garden outside with hot tub. Robes in room, large room. Great breakfast. I would have been satisfied if I had paid twice the VERY reasonable price I paid. I could go on, but why bother - this is a hands-down excellent establishment.
The last stop on our Napa/Sonoma wine tour, the Inn was a pleasant surprise. Our second floor room was quite spacious, clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and professional. The breakfast was excellent, fresh, with plenty of choices, served in a nicely decorated area next to the lobby. Coffee, tea and warm home-made cookies were available throughout the afternoon. Very nice stay!
Beautiful, quiet, clean, friendly and great location. I have enjoyed staying here for many years. the management of the hotel makes you feel that you are important to them and are concerned that you have the best experience possible.
This was the best hotel ever. My friend and I stayed here on a side trip from San Francisco to spend two days in Napa/Sonoma visiting the wineries. The Elm House Inn is run more like an inn/bed and breakfast. Very cute main reception area decorated for the holidays with fresh coffee, tea, and water available. Rooms very spacious, love that there are two sinks, one in the bathroom and another outside the bathroom. Very cozy room and comfortable bed. Hot tub outside looked great, although we didn't use it.The best part was breakfast! Hot homemade blueberry muffins, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, juices, cereal, boiled eggs, fresh made waffles. The owner and his staff brought around fresh coffee and even cooked eggs and waffles to order. They even packed us two hot fresh blueberry muffins to go! When I return to Napa I will definitely stay here again.
Would definitely stay here again. Friendly and helpful staff which make you feel like family. Enjoyed small, quaint bed & breakast feel. Delicious breakfast options. Walking distance from downtown Napa.
Don't miss this lovely Inn. Whether it's a trip up from San Francisco or you are visiting Napa from anywhere. This is the most Charming place. You will love the staff and all the amenities. The best home made Cookies with Coffee/Tea served all the time. Breakfast was fantastic with incredible waffles. Location perfect. I absolutely loved this Charming and delightful Inn.
We have been choosing Best Western because of the personal touch and unique hotels. We were so happy to find this beautiful Inn in Napa. Our room was spacious and beautiful. I thought the personal touches by the staff at Elm House Inn far above anyplace we have stayed this year. The morning breakfast was yummy. Thank you for a great stay.
We stayed for 3 nights in this beautiful hotel. Don't let the fact that it's a "Best Western" property scare you away, it's a lot more like a B&B than a hotel. Our king room was quite large. The staff is extremely friendly and the breakfasts are terrific. The drive to wineries is simple, this place is very centrally locate. We took several walks into Downtown Napa, which takes about 20 minutes. You'll love this place!
Everything is way above our expectations. They have such attentive, cheerful people working on Christmas day. The property is clean and cozy, perfect for a cold winter night. They served Sweet Potato Waffles, hot oatmeal w/ good quality toppings, and fresh fruit. Also there's fresh baked cookies & milk in the evenings. The cookies are soooo dangerously delicious.
Elm Tree House in Napa is a cozy little hotel, almost like a B&B. The hotel is located a little outside the central area of Napa, (15 minute walk or 3-4 minute drive.) There is plenty of free parking. The main lobby is small, divided into a sitting area and breakfast area. There is a fireplace for winter and an outdoor patio and pool for summer. The hotel has three floors, with an elevator. My wife and I stayed in a room with two queen beds on the second floor. The room was on the small side, compared to other similar rooms I have stayed in, which is the reason I gave the hotel a "very good" instead of "excellent". The mattresses and pillows were comfy. The breakfast (7:30 to 10:30) was awesome.. poached or hard-boiled eggs, waffles, toast, oatmeal, fruit, and freshly baked muffin loaves. At 6 pm, freshly baked cookies are available. Free wi-fi is available. Definitely a nice place to stay.
Overall had a wonderful time. The warm cookies in the evenings are to die for! Stayed in Room 304 in December 2017. It was small and intimate. Perfect for 2. Glass on fireplace doesn't open which prevents the ability to warm the room using the fireplace. Had to use the heater as well. Construction going on across the street and during the day you can hear the noise. Hotel also sits on a busy street so you can hear some traffic from this side of the hotel. Room and floors were clean! Need new pillows and a variety of pillows. Otherwise nice amenities, bed and bedding, and furnishings.
We stayed here while taking our daughter on the Santa wine train. Great location, nice size rooms, beautifully decorated. Really comfortable beds and pillows. Michael was SO nice! Great breakfast with great service. I will definitely stay here again next time we go to Napa.
I read the reviews for the Best Western, Napa and all of them were positive so we decided to book our 1 night stay while seeing a show at the Uptown Theater. It was everything we expected. From the moment we stepped into the lobby and was greeted by the front desk to check out, our stay was personal, comfortable and lovely with all the special touches. The hotel is small and intimate but did not feel confining. The breakfast was delicious and substantial. We can't wait to return when we travel to Napa again.
We spent three wonderful nights at this lovely hotel with easy access to downtown where great restaurants are located. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They recommend a wine tasting tour with Platipus and we really enjoyed the day.
The Elm provides great value. It is comfortable and the staff is caring. It is close to all the Napa attractions and wineries. We enjoy the comfort of our room. We recommend the Elm to our friends and family.
While this hotel is not right in the middle of everything, it's certainly close enough. Especially if you consider using Uber to get to and from your restaurant visits. The hotel is simple, but clean and easily accessible. The breakfast is quite varied with everything from freshly made waffles (you can even get a sweet potato waffle) to lots of fresh fruit. We would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Napa.
They have thought of everything! Great breakfast, hot tub, garden, laundry, refrigerator in the room, nothing was forgotten, even cookies in the evening! The staff was helpful and pleasant! Very clean and the decor was lovely and homey!
This was our first time staying at the Elm House Inn in Napa and we couldn't have been happier with the service and room. Great people checking in and out, and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. We will definitely be staying here in the future.
Excellent experience at this hotel. A Best Western with a "bed and breakfast feel". The rooms were large and clean, and the hotel is a short walk to the downtown restaurant area. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in the area.
This property is an absolute jewel. The grounds are lovely, the rooms and lobby comfortable and tastefully decorated without the pretentiousness so often found in upscale areas. Friendly staff and owners and an outstanding breakfast. Truly a delight, we will definitely return when we are in the area again.
Needed a place to stay on a Saturday night Christmas party in the Napa Valley. I have had good experience with BW but had not stayed in Napa before. We were so pleased with the Inn. Very quaint, extremely comfortable, awesome front desk personnel. Great breakfast!!
I was so pleasantly surprised by this place, The lobby, the garden and the rooms were wonderful. I even got an upgrade via email before I arrived, How wonderful was that! ALL the staff were wonderful. The breakfast was great and those that served me waffles, she was so great! I cant wait to go back!
Its hard to know before you stay at a hotel if it will end up being a good idea. I check the reviews on everything of course but there are always some surprises. This hotel was firmly in the good surprise category. We stayed here Thanksgiving weekend 2017 and it was reasonably priced and apparently one of the last rooms. I really wanted to stay at the Andaz because I generally love Andaz properties but they were sold out. This 3-night stay turned out to be great. The breakfast was a highlight. Their dining room/lobby was nicely decorated for fall and there was a nice fire daily. Someone would ask me if I wanted a FRESH WAFFLE before I even sat down. The coffee was decent and the baked goods were delicious and fresh. The staff promptly cleared plates even though it was buffet. I hate when hotel breakfast buffets are so sad and are usually a low-fast cheap yogurt and corn flakes. This was a nice spread and they even had those little expensive yogurt parfaits with the fruit at the bottom. In the room, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. Even though it was cool at night, I still needed to sleep with the air conditioning because I need to sleep ice cold. The landscaping is also very charming around the property. The only downside is that if you miss the entrance on a one-way street you have to go all the way around the block and embarrass yourself in front of your partner.
This delightful inn, with the ambiance of a B&B, will become our favorite roost in Napa. The friendly staff, comfortable rooms and baked "sweet surprise" in the afternoon all combine to make this a very welcoming place.
We recently spent a night at the Elm House, renting 3 rooms for family members. We choose it based on TripAdvisor reviews, and price - which was far more affordable than many other Napa options. Have to say that I would choose this hotel again any time I return to Napa. The location is great -- very close to downtown, freeway access, in older neighborhood so you don't feel like you are along "the main drag." The feel is more like a B&B than a hotel/motel. Lovely, large bedrooms with comfortable beds, charming decor, cozy common area where you can eat breakfast, play games & sip wine in the evening. Really a great option for Napa; stay here and save your money to purchase great wine!
This hotel was fantastic. It was very cute inside. Our beds were super comfortable, the room was very clean and tidy. Staff were baking fresh cookies when we arrived, the lobby smelt incredible! and the cookies were to die for. There was a fire place, which was beautiful to sit near while enjoying a glass of wine. We did a napa valley wine tour and our company collected us from the hotel, they made this really easy. We didn't have an American sim card while there so they phoned the company for us to confirm pick up time for our tour. The breakfast in the morning was also fantastic. The only negative I would have is that there just isn't enough room in the lobby when breakfast is on for a lot of people to sit and eat breakfast. We had to sit on the couch which made eating a little difficult. Would definitely return and stay here again though.
This was the second time we have stayed at the Elm House and here are a few personal ratings: Location: Perfect Service: Perfect Friendliness of staff: Perfect Free Breakfast: Perfect Couples getaway: Perfect Enough said. This is THE hotel in Napa.
Rated #1 out of 30 Napa hotels for a reason. It's more like a small boutique private home bed and breakfast than a hotel. Superb quality to value ratio with a Staff that makes you feel genuinely welcomed. The morning breakfast with made to order sweet potato waffles, hot oatmeal with all the fixings, and many other items are just killer. The coffee is also very good. In the evenings after six, the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are awesome. Can't say enough good things about all the Staff. You'll be glad you stayed here.
Like many other reviewers I will reiterate the Elm House is more like a quaint B&B than any Best Western I've ever been to. It is conveniently located and our tour was able to pick us up from there with no problems. They book quickly so don't delay! We were there right after the fires and it was still gorgeous and clear. The best way to help Napa Valley area recover is to GO.
We have been staying in this Inn every November for years now. I can say with confidence you will have the same wonderful, consistent experience we have had each and every year. It's in a great location to walk into downtown Napa or head over to the outlets for a little shopping. The staff is better than any you will find in the finest hotel properties. The breakfast is fresh and personalized to the guest (waffles, poached eggs, specialty breads, fruit, gluten free options, etc). You will love this Inn. Say hello to Tom at the front desk, he's the best!
It is always a comfort to know that you can absolutely count on an exceptional experience at the Best Western Plus Elm House Inn in Napa, California. Location, facilities, cleanliness, helpful staff, great service, comfort - all of it great - all of the time. You can't go wrong if you stay here, and you will look forward to coming back.
We just stayed at the Napa Elmhurst Best Western and can't wait to return. This was unlike any Best Western I have ever been to. Spacious well appointed rooms (ours had a fireplace!), cozy and home-like lobby, as well as beautiful outdoor area. The breakfast had many choices, including a freshly made sweet potato waffle -yum. Top it off with freshly baked cookies in the evening and coffee/tea available all day. I felt as if I were a guest in a fine Inn and will definitely stay here again.
This delightful Best Western Plus is more like a bed and breakfast inn than a motel. The breakfast/sitting area is so welcoming with a nice fire in the fireplace, comfy chairs. Our room was equally charming and comfortable. And the inn is set on the edge of a neighborhood so no loud traffic noises to distract.
The only reason I hesitate to put this review here is because I don't want others to find out about this place! It is a wonderful boutique hotel with very personable service and beautiful rooms. This is our third time staying here and if I have my choice in the future, it will be the only hotel we stay at.
Our stay at the Best Western Elm House was a memorable one. Although it is a chain, the hotel has the feel of a B&B. It is warm & cozy. During a difficult time in Napa with the wildfires, the staff was very attentive and up to date on the conditions there. We also were surprised at check-in as they upgraded our room since it was an anniversary trip. The room was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast staff was amazing. Each morning they made a point of making sure you were provided a hot waffle or eggs. The selection of food was really good, especially the warm muffins. The warm chocolate chip cookies in the evening were a welcome treat as well. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again when visiting Napa.
I arrived at the hotel on Sunday, October 8, 2017 for my nephew's wedding to be held at the V.Sattui winery on Monday, October 9th. As a Best Western member I was upgraded to a lovely room with a fireplace on the 3rd floor. I was able to walk downtown (about 1 mile) for dinner and took a cab back (cost about $6 plus tip). The fires started during the night. Luckily the hotel is (I hope) in a safe area. Never lost electric power or WiFi (lost phone service). The breakfast was wonderful - terrific sweet potato waffles, fruit salad, breads, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. The men and women at the front desk were extremely helpful. By the way, the wedding was fabulous - no electricity, so portable power was brought in and used for lighting and for the band. Since they use gas for cooking the meal was served hot and was delicious. An evening to remember.
When it was recommended that I book here, I expected a typical best western. When we walked through the door we were completely surprised that it is an inn..truly. The warm ambiance and decor, the kindness of staff especially Michael who took such good care of us. The room was cozy, clean and well appointed and the breakfast was perfect. Healthy choices of fresh oatmeal, fruit, sweet potatoe waffles or poached eggs and some other options. I would highly, recommend this lovely inn. Good location, small. Quaint..a mile from the town and fabulous Oxbow market. If we make our way there again, this is where I would most definitely stay. My husband loved that they served warm cookies at 6:00 p.m. They were a special treat. They have a hot tub but no pool if that is important to you and we didn't see any children while we were there. It seems to cater to couples that are in Napa for wine country and other destinations in the area.
Charming best western that feels like a bed and breakfast. Michael at the front desk was fabulous. Kind, helpful and was happy to make our stay as pleasant as possible. A nice experience we felt well taken care of
My husband and I stayed at the Elm House for 2 nights during our short visit to Napa after traveling from Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks earlier in the week. We could not have chosen a nicer hotel to "put our feet up" and unwind after our long trip. It was more like a bed and breakfast, where our hosts gave us such personal attention from winery recommendations to restaurants in the area. Our breakfast was included and very personalized. There was a spread of the usual breakfast fare and you could ask for something made to order with little wait time. Seating was inside or outside in the crisp autumn morning air. It was not a huge hotel and that, for me, was the big draw...just quaint, clean, and charming! And...there were fresh baked goods every night and cold lemon water.
Hotel staff is very freindly, good location, about 20min walk to downtown napa (River area). Dated, but we'll taken care of, and in good shape. Would stay again if you get a good rate. If you get the downstairs rooms, it can get a little loud in the AM when breakfast is going on.
This is a lovely small boutique hotel located in downtown Napa, California. The room was spacious, clean and charming. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfast is fresh and ample You can easily walk to town and the river where you will find wonderful restaurants and shopping.
The place was great. The room was perfect. The breakfast had made to order waffles that were great. Great service. There is an outside patio that is perfect for breakfast or having wine in the evening.
Nothing is cheap in Napa, but I think the Elm House Inn is a great value. Excellent, comfortable rooms and an excellent, friendly staff who are happy to provide their expertise to help with you planning. Close enough to Napa proper restaurants and attractions that most can easily walk, and an excellent base for exploring the wine country. We were traveling with a group of 4 couples (ok, we're seniors) so didn't pay much attention to the hotels attractiveness to families. But the excellent, free breakfast would certainly be a plus.
Michael at the front desk was exceptional, and truly enjoys what he is doing! The breakfast staff were helpful, courteous and very attentive. Clean facility, warm ambiance. The room, while comfortable, was a bit outdated, but an EXCELLENT STAY!
This quaint hotel is truly like a B&B with great decor and wonderful home made baking. Sweet potato waffles, cookies, and muffins were so good and the room was very comfortable. Parking lot a bit tight if you are driving a truck and location was a bit of a hike to downtown Napa though. We would definitely stay here again.
This Inn is a must if visiting Napa. The staff and owners are friendly and accommodating from the warm cookies and milk at 6:00 to the patio to sit and visit with fellow guest at the end of the day. The breakfast is included and will not disappoint! Sweet potato waffles with warm syrup are to die for! Poached eggs on perfectly toasted English muffins, fresh fruit, oatmeal, coffee! Have your breakfast on the patio under the heaters! Rooms are wonderful, baths are roomy. My only complaint is that our stay was too short!
Don't be distracted by the BW affiliation - the Elm House Inn is essentially a B & B. Our room at the back of the courtyard was spacious and comfortable. The staff was both friendly and professional. Breakfast was very good - including the option for sweet potato waffles. The Inn is located well for access to Napa restaurants and to Napa / Sonoma wineries. Overall, we recommend highly the Elm House Inn.
This hotel was such a nice surprise, it was much more a bed and breakfast. Every single person was kind and friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and they went out of their way to fix anything you might want. The room was clean and laid out very well with a lot of space. It is within walking distance of some nice restaurants and the lobby and grounds were very nice.
This is a really nice hotel if you're staying in Napa. Rooms are clean and the staff is great. The breakfasts were included and were fantastic. The fresh cookies at 6 pm were are welcome treat. It is a 15 minute walk to the main part of Napa and the outlet shops are right across the freeway. Never used the hot-tub because we were just too busy with shopping and wineries. Great wifi, plenty of parking, great staff, and a nice hotel made for a nice stay in Napa
Best Western Plus Elm House Inn in Napa is a quaint and charming place to stay. The breakfast is amazing with made to order waffles and an assortment of fruit, baked goods, and other traditional continental breakfast selections. The staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone.
Wonderful accommodations. Spacious room, comfortable bed/pillows. Lovely complimentary breakfast in the morning was a treat! Very nice staff. Easy to get to, parking near our room. Quiet area, yet right off the main road for your Napa wineries etc!
We had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were very clean and the décor was beautiful. They had a cute courtyard and a nice fireplace in the lobby to sit and enjoy your evening. The breakfast was very good and they served delicious cookies in the afternoon. I would definitely stay here again when in Napa. The price was beyond reasonable for the service and venue.
The location was right near the downtown area so easy access. Hotel was a small one with lots of character. Offered all the services of a larger hotel - breakfast, internet, hot tub.. staff very helpful with travel questions
My wife and I planned a trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley over the Labor Day weekend. We selected this place because it was available, not because it was our first choice. However, when we go back to Napa, we are likely to look at this place first when picking a place to stay. First, it's a bit of a drive from the wineries we want to visit, but the upside is, it is far away from the crowds and traffic. It is centrally located between the freeway and a great downtown area with lots of choices for food and beverages. I'm planning to write about those places too! Back to the hotel...they could not have been more friendly...they were welcoming and helpful during our entire stay. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Breakfast was great because of the selections for the morning offerings...I don't like hotel food, and avoid it when I can. This place was great however. The only concern I had was not discovering the rooms that were detached from the property. I wished I had known about those...I would have opted for one of the rooms that faces the hot tub and green space. We'd definitely make our way back to this place!
We have traveled to Napa over a dozen times in the past 4 years for winery tastings and tours. We initially stayed at expensive hotels but quickly discovered that the Best Western Elm is our favorite based on value, excellent hospitality, the fine breakfast and tasty chocolate chip cookies every evening. Tom the proprietor is an amazing person. We will always stay there.
The Elm House Inn is always our first choice when visiting Napa. Rooms are beautifully appointed, immaculate and beds are super comfy. We enjoy the delicious breakfasts with freshly made waffles, oatmeal, breakfast pastries and fresh fruits. At 6:00 pm they serve fresh cookies. The hotel is well located for those wanting to explore Napa and the Napa Valley.
We just returned from a girls' trip that consisted of 3 nights at this charming hotel. The Elm House Inn is a quality hotel that gives a B&B type experience. It's a small, charming place with a delicious breakfast. We particularly enjoyed the freshly baked breads in the morning and cookies in the afternoon! The staff is friendly, the rooms are small but clean, and the location is good. I would highly recommend this gem!
In our first visit to Napa wine country, we booked the Elm House sight unseen. We were very happy with the whole experience and the value of the hotel. The location was also excellent as it was close to the expressway. It was quiet, too. The staff was great and knowledgeable.
This hotel was very unique for Best Western. 4 different buildings. I guess my only complaint was that there was no elevator and we had heavy luggage and a 2nd floor room. BUT, the room was wonderful.
Our expectations were exceeded! Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, coffee cake, beautiful rooms, cheerful and caring staff. We highly recommend! The gardens and fountains near the back patio and hot tub were beautiful!
We had a super stay at Elm House Inn. We were greeted with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and milk. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast was excellent! Fresh made waffles and coffee cake. There is a lovely courtyard to enjoy eating your breakfast. The staff was so pleasant and helpful
As A group all family, we had a excellent stay, no one complained we always had parking, No problem finding a spot. all went well the whole time there. We were impressed with the breakfast and the people working in that area, they were right on getting our toast tosted or asking if we want waffles made.we loved their breakfastes.
Lovely spot and well located in Napa. Had the feel of a B&B, instead of hotel chain. Clean and cozy. The addition of fresh baked cookies and coffee cakes was such a nice treat. The owner was so welcoming and made us feel right at home.
I am almost hesitant to give a review of this hotel. It is comfortable, friendly and clean and I feel it is our new "go" to hotel in the area. We have stayed a many "high end" holes and didn't have the comfort of this spot. Many thanks to Tom and Connie and their great staff for providing us with a new special stay in Napa. we will be back!
convenient location with walking distance to downtown. lovely decor. spacious room. Attentive and kind staff. Breakfast was so good. Worth the price as happiness is invaluable. My husband and I pretty much enjoyed staying here.
All the reviews I read before coming said wonderful things about the Elm House and they were correct! I would tell everyone to come here. It's small and charming and you do not think you are in a Best Western Hotel. We arrived in the late afternoon and while checking in smelled freshly made cookies that were just being set out with milk. Nice touch! Our room was big and comfortable. The breakfast area is adorable. Tables set up with cloth placemats and there were lots of choices! The staff offered made to order waffles either buttermilk or sweet potato. Delicious. They made poached eggs and toasted whatever you wanted. They served you coffee and even packed up to go the blueberry crumb loaf I wasn't able to finish. They don't have a pool but we used the hot tub and that was really nice. The check in and check out process was quick and efficient. We were on the first floor near the fireplace. Our room was next to the elevator but since it's such a small place not too many people were using the elevator. I would suggest trying not stay in the rooms right by the breakfast area. You literally walk out of your room into the breakfast area. We didn't hear any noise from our room and were very happy with our stay. Wonderful staff!!
Tom and his entire staff provided a wonderful home away from home atmosphere for our family to get together. So appreciated having local family join us for breakfast. The 6pm cookies were delicious!! Perfect location to walk to downtown Napa's many delicious restaurants as well as easy access to Rt 29 for wine tasting in Napa, Yountville and beyond.
The hotel looks like something that you see in a better homes and garden magazine. Very charming , very traditional. The staff very nice , ready to assist you . Breakfast was great. Everything fresh, oatmeal with all the trimmings. Big bowl of fresh blueberries, strawberries and other fresh fruit. This place offers more than your regular continental breakfast. Hope we can go back.
From the moment we checked in until the time we checked out we received top quality service and the breakfasts were to die for. Fresh baked cakes, waffles and fresh Tia's amongst other items. Top quality.
We arrived at the hotel late in the evening. The woman behind the front desk was so very nice. What ever our questions she was ready with an answer. Her care and kindness made us feel very welcomed! The rooms were clean and well appointed. the location was exact for our departure to wine country the following morning.
The place had a very homey setting which didn't seem like a hotel which was nice. It was clean and comfortable and i would stay again. friendly staff and was very accommodating. I liked that it was not a big hotel.
This is a well-managed bed and breakfast set within walking distance of downtown Napa. Our room was spacious and comfortable. It had the added feature of duplicate bathrooms-one full, including toilet and shower, and the other limited to a pair of sinks with a large mirror.
The staff are friendly, helpful and treat you as their house guest rather than a hotel guest. We were skeptical of using a Best Western, but this Inn is run like an Inn, not a hotel/motel. It located a few blocks from town in a residential area. You will need a car to get around unless you don't mind a 25 minute walk to town. Very easy drive to town. Grounds are beautiful, breakfast was delicious, rooms are decorated nicely and kept clean. Warm cookies in the evening, nice touch and smelled wonderful!
Wonderful place! More like a B&B than a hotel. The Inn keepers and staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The breakfast is wonderful. The room was adorable and had a fireplace in it. I highly recommend The Elm House Inn.
My husband and I decided to go to Napa a few weeks in advance. Now you may think that finding a hotel is easy since this area attracts a lot of tourists, however in the prime of the season we found it hard to find a hotel. Most were sold out. We usually stay at boutique type of places. I found this hotel on trip advisor and the reviews were decent so we took the chance! Glad we did. This place is definitely a quaint little inn! Very cute. Easy location. Friendly staff. Clean. They made us feel at home and this place felt very personable. Each morning they had a free continental breakfast. Not just the usual spread but there was a small wait staff that greeted you and asked if you wanted anything toasted and/or your choice of regular or sweet potato waffles. Just amazing. Lovely ladies. Truly went above and beyond. We would stay here again next time we are in town!
We stayed on the 3rd floor with King bed. Nice decor with windows that opened up to beautiful flowered bushes/trees! Warm cookies, coffee and tea at night. Waffles, oatmeal & fruit breakfast. Jacuzzi too. Free parking. Couples, friends and sisters we're staying there. Pleasant staff. Nicest BW that I've seen.
Don't think of this place as your typical Best Western, it's far from it. We read the reviews and it's all what they say. Great location, just a mile away from downtown Napa and about 15 min drive to Napa Valley. Great breakfast, of course try the sweet potato waffle but my favorite is their oatmeal, they have all the toppings you can think of and more, the coffee cake is freshly baked every morning, their hole in one breakfast of bacon waffle with poached egg, fresh fruit and of course the 2 ladies who made sure your morning is perfect (thank you!). The 6 pm freshly baked cookies is an extra bonus. Clean and homey feel, the rooms are bit old but not a huge issue for us, it has a boutique/bed & breakfast feel, the king size room is huge. Tom and Connie Kearns and their front desk staff are very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Just overall a great stay in a great hotel, we're very impress - highly recommended!
This hotel is a lovely little Inn type hotel, not right in downtown but conveniently close for walking or a short drive. All of the staff are very friendly, the hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, there was water coffee and tea available throughout the day. A delicious fresh baked cookie with cold milk was a nice little surprise in the lobby in the evening. The breakfast was delicious had a large variety of items . Including waffles freshly mine was sweet potato and it was delicious. They were very accommodating as my girlfriend only wanted a small piece of a plain waffle they were kind enough to just make her a quarter of a plain waffle! When we arrived we thought the hotel was very charming but throughout our stay we only fell in love with it more! We will definitely stay again and will recommend it to our friends!
I would say it reminds me of a bed and breakfast very homely quiet down to earth better than the big hotels yet not a bed and breakfast a lot different than most Best Westerns I like the style I would recommend this to anyone wanting to be close to downtown Napa with reasonable prices within walking distance of a lot of places very fun
I enjoyed my stay. The innkeeper was blurry nice and the breakfast was phenomenal. The rooms were nice and very clean. It could have used a little updating but all in all the room was nice. You probably won't find a nicer staff in Napa and the breakfast was as good as many hotels in much higher price points.
It's number 1 on TripAdvisor for a reason. It's got the charm of a B&B with the amenities of a hotel. We got upgraded for free to a huge room. Super nice staff, very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was included and amazing. Fresh, homemade waffles and coffee cake. 2 egg options as well as oatmeal, cereal and yogurt. The breakfast room was beautiful definitely like a B&B. It is centrally located in Napa, near everything. We will stay there again for sure.
My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel and would stay there again. It is close enough to walk downtown if it is a nice day and you do not mind a nice stroll (0.9 miles if I recall correctly). The parking was good, breakfast was great and the rooms were clean, comfortable and more like home than a hotel. The staff had a very "mom and pop" feel to it and they knew your name quickly and were there to assist with whatever question that we had. This was perfect for our business and leisure trip to the area.
Loved the owners and the small touches. They welcomed us and went out of their way to be hospitable. We were satisfied with the stay. Even though the hotel is smal and there's a shared living space, it wasn't loud or disruptive.
What a surprise this hotel was! Very nice and boutique-like. Clearly a cut above the typical Best Western motels. Location is great, so near the main shopping areas of Napa. The breakfast was clearly a cut above any ordinary hotel. Rooms were very well appointed and the beds were just to our liking. Very friendly staff willing to meet our every need. Definitely recommend this hotel.
15 min walk to downtown Napa. Our room was on the ground floor across reception despite asking for a room on a high floor. I asked if w could get a different room and was told they were full. Found the woman on reception to be quite abrupt and not a great first impression. Room was chintzy . They should ditch the bed covers and replace with more modern decor and replace the dark green carpets that hide many sins...would give it a complete modern feel. No safe in room. Pleasantly surprised that room was quiet..no noise from road or reception/lobby. They have cookies in the evening at 6pm and a hot tub outside (did not use it). Breakfast was good...breads, fruits, cereals, waffles made to order, cakes, porridge and (cold) boiled eggs. Breakfast staff were great! Lots of Parking on site. Would definitely consider staying here again.
I made a short visit to the Napa valley for a friends wedding. The staff at best western were amazing - helpful, friendly and they went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. The actual hotel was also great.
We stayed here for 1 night and found, for the money this was a deal. The front desk ladies were lovely and accommodating and our room, 2 queen sized beds was perfect for 3 of us. There was a nice breakfast included and although we didn't partake, there's a cookie and milk happy hour in the early evening which smelled wonderful. Location is key and it's a nice walk to downtown.
Great hotel for the price paid. If you catch them at the right time, about mid afternoon to evening, there are nice chocolate chip oatmeal cookies that they bake fresh! It smells like a delicious pastry shop upon arrival. Would totally recommend!
This was an adorable little hotel. Walking distance to downtown Napa and a very cozy little hotel. Breakfast was included and very good but they didn't offer any protein other than boiled eggs for breakfast. But for the price I recommend this hotel.
We were looking for a spot in Napa and saw that there was room at the Best Western, Elm House Inn. The reviews were excellent, but we were a bit wary at celebrating our very significant anniversary in a less than special hotel. Well, were we so very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very helpful, the breakfasts were tasty and copious. The room was comfortable and the location was very good. We could walk to some good restaurants, easily get on the highway through the valley to the north, and return to a very nice and homey environment. \\\\I can easily recommend it highly.
We are here right now staying at this quaint inn. We have been pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and spacious our room is. It is like having our own little apartment. While we haven't had our full stay yet, the service has been amazing. Friendly staff and the hot tub was a bonus! Can't wait to enjoy these days at our little homey inn!
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights over Memorial Day and we had a fantastic stay! The staff at the hotel really made us feel welcome and I felt like I was staying at a high end B&B instead of a hotel. The complimentary waffles and other small breakfast items was very nice! At check-in we were offered home made coffee bread and the host also had complimentary GOOD coffee and tea available. The room we stayed in came with a small gas fireplace and it was very comfortable. I would say it is better then most Best Western Hotel Rooms, we slept pretty well! The hotel is also in a pretty good location only 10-15 minute walk into Napa. The walk into town takes you down a residential street and there is a lot of nice homes in the area. So it is not a bad walk. I would definitely recommend staying at the Best Western Plus Elm House. The host (sorry forgot their name) really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The next time we are in Napa we would definitely consider staying here again!
Our second stay at the Elm House was just as good as the first. Rocio and Bertha make breakfast with a smile and take requests for their amazing waffles! The rooms are spacious and clean. Such a treat to stay here! Leave time to enjoy the garden in the mornings!
This is a small boutique hotel. The customer service was excellent. With fresh fruit and delicious freshly baked muffins we enjoyed breakfast. Parking is limited and there were no spots when we arrived. The location within walking distance to downtown was great.
Adorable. Looks and feels more like a b&b than a "hotel", Staff was great, breakfast awesome. Overall a great place to stay. Perfectly located so that we could walk to downtown Napa..Cannot wait to stay there again next year
We had never been in Napa valley so we planned two days there after a week up in the Cascades on our way back to SF. This hotel was very nice, although totally overprices as are almost all the area's hotels. Our room, rather small and claustrophobic, )There was not even rook for a chair next to the desk!) was #104 and aside from being a bit noisy at breakfast time, it was just plain weird walking out the door in the morning because the door opened to the continental breakfast area. You opened the door and you were essentially in the middle of a restaurant with a number of diners looking up from their meals as to who was coming out of their room. Way too weird. Sorry. The breakfast itself was very good with lots of fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles and oatmeal. The only eggs were hardboiled, a bit of a disappointment. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If you go, be sure to avoid Room # 104 or any other first floor room that might be right in the breakfast area like room 104. As for the valley itself, we drove into Napa and then up the Silverado Trail to Calistoga and back on Highway 29. The entire time we were waiting for the "incredible scenery" we'd been told about and such scenery never materialized. The views were extremely boring, the air was hazy, there were no striking features to the land and every couple of minutes we had to pull over to let aggressive tailgating Mercedes' and Lexus' roar by. To each his own I suppose, but after all the buildup and the completely underwhelming scenery and rude drivers, we couldn't help but feel that wind country is nothing more than the emperor's new clothes.
Feels like a B&B. Charming inside and out. The location is close to downtown Napa. The breakfast was a great way to start our day - they even offered Gluten Free bread as an option! We will definitely stay again. The price is reasonable compared to the larger chains and much more comfortable. Would recommend to anyone staying in the Napa area.
We went to Napa Valley and stayed here for 3 nights. We came in early from San Francisco. The desk clerk said no rooms were ready yet, but come in, have some coffee and muffins. By the time we had finished the wonderful muffins and coffe a room was available. We were impressed. The place is more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was a small place which made it more home-like. Each morning at breakfast we were asked if we wanted waffles or pancakes. We enjoyed the fresh muffins and fruit so much we always chose them. The Elm St. was about a mile from downtown Napa so we enjoyed our walks downtown at least once a day. If we return to Napa, this will be the place to stay again.
This was our fourth visit to this lovely hotel/B&B. We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and while at breakfast the first morning, we were again warmly greeted by Tom with a smile and a big "Happy Anniversary!" The attention to making their guests feel at home is unmatched. The waffles at breakfast are the exact comfort food one needs, especially following a day or two of wine tasting. The oatmeal is slow cooked and every topping available. A great selection of coffees, juices, fruit, fresh bakery items, cereals, breads, yogurts, etc guarantee you don't leave hungry! The staff is so friendly and attentive and special kudos to them for taking such good care of us! We chose one of the larger rooms just off the main house. It is always quiet and comfortable. Having just returned from Europe, my husband and I found ourselves commenting that it reminded us of the many hotels we have stayed in there, except bigger, more comfortable, bars of soap and plenty of fresh, new towels and washcloths! We especially enjoyed the second sink, magnifying mirror, robes, refrigerator, coffee maker, Dish TV and great air conditioning! The outside vending machine was used daily for water bottles and the price was better than the markets! Although we did not use it, there is a large spa with a nearby bathroom and an elevator in the main house. The location is residential so it was very quiet at night. As walkers, we loved walking the neighborhood and to some of our dinners downtown (which were only a mile away!) We felt very safe and the location is convenient to the highway of wineries. Thank you Tom and everyone there for once again making our anniversary so very special! Hugs!
We stayed in the rooms out back behind the main building and they were beautiful! The rooms are so large and spacious. We like how the bathroom is separate from the vanity area with full length mirror. It makes it easy for one person to shower while the other person is getting ready for the day. Beds are very comfortable. Lots of windows and natural light in the room. The outdoor gardens are gorgeous. The breakfast, served by eager-to-please staff, is fantastic. Plenty of indoor seating and also some tables set up outside to sit and eat and enjoy the beautiful area. The lobby has board games and books to enjoy. And the parking is easy and free! Absolutely no complaints or dissatisfaction. Friendly staff, attractive rooms, great food and service, easy location!
What a wonderful place to stay in Napa! Great location and easy parking, but the real attraction are the rooms and breakfast and beautiful gardens. The rooms are very spacious and have a separate bathroom and vanity area. Makes it very easy for one person to shower in the mornings while the other is getting ready. The gardens are beautiful and the breakfasts are excellent. Great food and a staff eager to serve you. It feels like a Bed and Breakfast, but with the Best Western name and quality.
The Elm House is more like a B&B. It is clean and all grounds are well kept. there is a refrig in each room. Breakfast is included with home made waffles and coffee cake. The proprietors were very helpful with information on wine tasting, directions, free coupons, shipping wine we purchased, and recommending where to eat. I would definitely recommend this inn to anyone.
Tom and Connie continue to serve up the best kept secret in Napa, although with as many times as I've recommended the Elm, it's not going to be a secret for long. You tend not to spend much time at your hotel in Napa but when you do, the surroundings are impeccably manicured which makes for a restful environment after running around all day. The hot tub is perfect for ending an evening. You can walk to downtown Napa, work out at a local gym, or sit and enjoy your breakfast which, for couples traveling together, it's a perfect place to go your own way in the mornings before wine tasting all day. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the hospitality is second to none. You will find a friend in Tom and he will go the extra degree to ensure you are completely satisfied with your visit. He and his staff have become as much a part of our annual trip as the wine which is why they are simply the best.
A wonderful Inn in a great location. Close to everything. Charming facility and helpful, gracious staff. The breakfast offers a wide variety of fresh, healthy choices. Waffles are made to order! Very close to the old town Napa.
Good location to base your wine country touring; convenient to downtown and highways. We were able to get around town and the Napa valley without any problems. Our Queen room was very comfortable and the wi-fi worked perfectly in our room.
This was the best option we found that met the "cheap but not the cheapest" criteria. I'm very glad we chose it, because it has everything you could need and was comfortable. If you need fancy hotel amenities then this might not be for you, but if you need a comfortable place to sleep once the wine makes you tired, this is perfect, and is only 1 mile from downtown.
A boutique hotel with a wonderful breakfast and a pretty garden. The breakfast is very high quality and the staff is very attentive. It has the feel of a B&B but all rooms have bathrooms. Our room was updated and small but nice. If you are staying more than two nights or working, ask for a room with comfortable seating and a work area. Not far from downtown but about a one mile walk. Uber is about $8 from the hotel to town.
Great place, location was perfect, nice rooms, comfy beds, great service, good breakfast to start the day.........quiet courtyard and the cookies at 6pm were yummy! so here goes trying to get to 200 characters.
It's no wonder that when I mentioned where we were staying, most people thought it was a B & B. It has all the positives of a B & B but in the guise of a Best Western Plus. Our stay here was a pleasure. The rooms are a nice size, comfortable and cozy with most all the amenities you could wish for. Refrigerators are under the sink in the dressing area. There are 2 sinks – one in the bathroom and one just outside with plenty of counter space. (One pleasant surprise was that each room had a DISH receiver with the same channel lineup we're used to at home. This is no big deal for non-DISH subscribers but for those that do, it's a major perk when trying to find a channel without having to refer to a list.) There are gathering areas with comfortable sofas, chairs and a fireplace as well as a patio and a peaceful garden area, perfect for strolling and reading a book. Besides providing fresh waffles and bakery items each morning, they provide the best homemade cookies each evening! The staff constantly provided personal attention to our wants and needs. It's hard to describe my gratitude for that attention when we had an emergency that required my wife to be admitted to a local hospital: The staff bent over backwards to extend my stay despite being one of the busiest times of the month. They were constantly checking with me to see if they could assist and to check on the status of my wife. It definitely helped with making it through a difficult time that could have been far worse without the personal service. For this they will always have my heartfelt gratitude.
Very charming, great location, delicious breakfast every morning, Friendly staff. A hidden jewel in the Napa Valley. I can't wait to book my stay for next time. Clean, and the bed was so comfortable. So quaint, and perfect for a couples weekend.
I did not know that I would be getting such a nice and comfortable hotel. (Not your Motel 6) It was neat , clean, warm and inviting. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. The Breakfast was included, and was beautifully presented by a willing and able staff. For being in Napa, with great restaurants and charm, it was well located off the highway and yet quiet. It was an excellent choice. By the way, less than 70 minutes to SFO (on Sunday morning.)
The reviews are right. Great bedrooms, great location, really good service. Breakfast is excellent with a good selection. Walking distance to some very nice restaurants, the winetrain and also an outlet mall.
I am a little late leaving this review, but believe this is completely worthy of a review despite it being late! My husband and I stayed here as part of our travelling trip last September. We stayed for one night - I wish we'd have stayed longer! What a lovely experience, from check in to check out we felt right at home. All of the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The place is quaint, like a B&B style hotel rather than one of the big generic chains. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, as well as spacious. The lounge is cosy, with a big fireplace and space to sit outside on the sheltered patio. We liked that it is a walkable distance from the centre of town, and that we could bring the wine we purchased back to the hotel to enjoy it in the peace and quiet of the patio. The breakfast was PHENOMENAL - sweet potato waffles! - amongst various other delicious continental options and breakfast cooked to order. My husband and I still fantasize about the breakfast here! Without a doubt, one day, we will be back here to visit. I could sincerely say this is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.
It all begins in your bedroom ! The smell of freshly cooked bread, pastries & cookies wafts upstairs and brings you downstairs to the Breakfast Room & see a huge array of food. When you are seated, you are asked if you would like a waffle. This huge waffle then appears - about the size of a dinner plate, with a little pot of maple syrup. I would put on Kilos not Pounds if I had stayed longer !!
We stayed from May 29 to June 1st. I had booked two rooms and asked for them to be away from the front of the hotel. The price per room was bit more but we where given Rooms 402 and 403 which are classed as king premium Rooms. And we loved them. Our friends stay at Marriott hotels. But they were really impressed. Plus the fact it seemed more like a Bread and Breakfast than a big hotel. Breakfast was delicious. We did not miss having no meat. Lot of fruit and fresh made waffles. Staff bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. We wished we could of stayed longer. Tom the owner makes you feel right at home.
Our stay here was wonderful! Tom and his staff are so welcoming, you feel right at home. If you like quaint, personable style lodging this the place to stay. The room was clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. From the fireplace going to the evening home made cookies you can not go wrong here!!! We will definitely be back! We did like being on the second floor. The rooms on the first are right off the eating area. We also loved the outdoor patio!!! Short drive or bit of a walk to downtown Napa City. So many nice restaurants! Oxbow Market and the Culinary Institute were recommended by Tom and they were both worth trying!!! Also recommended was Artesa Winery, magnificent!!! Thank you Tom and all the staff at the BW Elm House Inn for making our stay a memorable one!!!!
From the staff to the yummy breakfast to the comfortable beds and pillows. ***** Oh yeah also the fresh baked cookies :-) Looking forward to our next visit to Napa Valley. Next visit will be longer. Cant beat if you want a nice tranquil relaxing place to stay.
This hotel was much better than expected. I knew the ratings were high on tripadvisor, but until you see it for yourself, you will not understand. We had an amazing, HUGE, room. We walked outside to a small, beautiful courtyard filled with flowers. The breakfast is incredibly delicious. The staff here pays great attention to detail and were very attentive and helpful. We had rented a car, so there was free parking. We will stay here every time we visit Napa!
Very quaint and personable Best Western and best breakfast in town - sweet potato waffles and hot coffee were fantastic!!! Clean well keep up rooms. The staff is helpful, kind and there to make sure you have a pleasant stay. Thank you ...
Extraordinary hotel, with excellent personality. My wife and I visited Napa over the holidays, and I suffered a heart attack (not at this hotel). Upon hospital check-out, we needed a place to stay, before traveling back to Georgia. This was the perfect pick....fireplace, atmosphere, warm feel, and an outdoor hot tub. The experience was so good, we stayed a second time, when we came back to Napa for a survivor's reunion. Once again, great atmosphere, and a great experience. They remembered us, and even threw in an upgrade. Have already recommended this property, and will continue to do so.
The room was adorable - loved the extra vanity! The grounds were beautiful - all the roses smelled wonderful & the free breakfast was the best I've had when it was included in the hotel price - the service was outstanding
We spent two nights here and we will be back. It has the feel of a B&B with yummy breakfast and Tom calls you by name. Quiet courtyard area and roses are lovely. Bed is comfy and rooms are good size w large bath. The top rating is well-deserved.
Just spent a weekend with friends in NAPA. We stayed at the Best Western Plus Elm House Inn based upon a friend's recommendation. This is a LOVELY and welcoming hotel and we loved it! There is a beautiful living room to sit in, a hot tub, and a delicious breakfast buffet (homemade muffins daily) and 6 pm - fresh baked cookies. The staff are TERRIFIC - so helpful and create an atmosphere where guests immediately feel at home! Don't miss out on this terrific home away from home!
The hotel looks more like a B&B than a hotel. Very comfortable setting and close to everything we came to Napa to experience. Lost of restaurants nearby. Even a Trader Joe's. And, of course, so many gorgeous wineries in Napa, Sonoma and Calistoga to choose from. Check out Berringer for sure. Amazing place with beautiful grounds. Also the Chateau Montelena. Both in St Helena between Napa and Calistoga.
This is not what you think of when you hear Best Western. This is more like a bed and breakfast. Located right in Napa...the location is convenient...the size of the place is small and cozy and the price right. I will stay here again.
We stayed here for two nights in April 2017 and really enjoyed it. It certainly feels like a B&B and the staff could not have been more friendly. Breakfast is incredibly enjoyable because of the staff and they are more than happy to make recommendations on what to do while you're in town. The rooms look/feel a little like Grandma's house but I guess that's the point, right? We will certainly consider staying here again when we return to Napa.
This is a warm, welcoming place with good people running it. It was clean, with beautiful grounds of the prettiest roses I have ever seen and tasty afternoon freshly baked cookies and a wonderful breakfast the next morning. We loved this place!
Great place and would stay next time in Napa. The only thing I would change is to book direct with the hotel. Price did not change but Rewards Membership was not honored without booking direct. Great location and attention to details.
This is a small hotel with a homey, warm feel. Breakfast items are fresh, and they have excellent homemade baked items every morning, they serve fresh baked chocolate chip cookies every evening, the rooms are lovely and the staff is friendly, helpful and professional. I would definitely stay here again
Chance to try a little cute house in a residential street. Inside has a lot of charm and very helpful staff. The rooms are warm and very homey. Breakfast is very good with waffle speciality. Poached egg was an option too. Staff as mentioned were friendly and helpful in every way. Could have stayed longer than one night as it was really good. Full five star.
Despite the chain hotel affiliation the stay here is more like an inn or B&B. The common area has comfy chairs and a sofa in front of a cozy gas log fireplace. The location itself isn't scenic (although the grounds are immaculate) but it's a perfect starting point for exploring the area. The room was comfortable but the breakfast was the standout. Sweet potato waffles made to order, scrumptious homemade muffins, fresh fruit, etc. In the late afternoon you can grab a warm chocolate chip cookie and milk for a snack. If you like to sleep in late, ask for a room that doesn't border the kitchen and breakfast area because it gets noisy as people gather for breakfast.
A lot of very good things to be said about this wonderful establishment. From the owner (who is very visible and onsite) on down, the staff and the service offered is friendly and first rate. The included breakfast is a treat in a lovely setting. The rooms are very large with high ceilings and nicely furnished in style in keeping with the facility architecture. You really must try this place at least once. Cost is in line with quality in this trendy, upscale area.
This property is very different for a Best Western. Charming property. Definitely feels like an Inn due size and decor. Very pretty and homey feeling. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our only issues were that the room was very small (there were 3 of us) and the breakfast didn't start until 7:30 and we had to leave earlier so couldn't take advantage. They had treats out in the evening including fresh baked goodies which were very good. We would stay again if there were just 2 of us in the room. A nice change from a typical hotel.
The staff was superb, the décor lovely (fresh cut flowers everywhere!), and wow the breakfast! What a treat! Slow cooked oatmeal with tons of toppings to choose from, made-to-order waffles (regular and sweet potato), homemade poppyseed bread, hard boiled eggs, teas, coffees. Everything we tried was great. Easy to find, not too far from it all, and a great bargain.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It was more of a Bed and Breakfast mode than that of a hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful with answering out questions about where to go. Easy access to the main highway and to downtown Napa. The breakfast in the mornings were fantastic. A great variety of items to eat and many items freshly baked and still warm. When we returned from a day out, there were fresh baked cookies too. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed for our travels. We will most definitely stay here again on our future trips.
This was a second stay at this lovely intimate hotel. Both last year and this year a group of us visited wine country. We wanted reasonable accommodations so we could spend more money on wine. Elm House Inn fit the bill. There is limited space. The rooms are a good size and clean. The best part of the stay is the breakfast. Each morning our group had a hearty breakfast of waffles, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, pastries, coffee and juice. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
My best friend and I have stayed here twice for a girls weekend getaway. The rooms are super clean, the staff and owners were extremely welcoming, and the breakfast is delish (definitely have a waffle and some granola). Staying here has definitely become part of a tradition that will continue.
We had such a great time in 2016 we booked a stay in March 2017 at the Elm House. Just as awesome as we remembered. Fantastic breakfast, not to be missed. Great staff, very friendly, helpful, over the top. Our room was on the 2nd floor of the main building and was wonderful. Only room advice is to avoid the first floor near the "dining room" area. Would not hesitate to stay here again!!
We stayed here for our Wine Country trip last year, and returned to the Elm House Inn this year. It was just as wonderful as before. It's much more like a bed and breakfast inn than a regular Best Western Hotel. The staff is great - very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished. Breakfast in the morning features made-to-order waffles or sweet potato waffles, fresh fruit, pastries, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs. Poached eggs are available upon request. Fresh-baked cookies are available in the evenings. Really a nice property.
We stayed two nights during our visit to Napa. It is well priced, the room was spacious and homey in decor. The staff were very helpful, it was located close to downtown and we could easily access the highway to the wineries. It may not have the luxury feeling of a big hotel, but it had a beautiful rustic decor and welcoming main area for lounging and breakfast. Breakfast there was better than we had at any of the diners in SF. We loved the homemade baked goods and fresh waffles. Elm House offered good value and service. I would be happy to stay there again.
The customer service we received was incredible. We ended up having a plumbing issue in our room the last day and needed to take showers before leaving. We were moved to another room without hesitation. The breakfast here was great! We will definitely return.
I stayed one night in this lovely little hotel in Napa. My room was cozy, yet it was more than adequately sized for a queen bed, small sitting area, TV credenza, and a corner fireplace. The hotel is near two main roads, which makes it conveniently located, but I found my room to be a bit noisy due to the traffic. The breakfast was terrific - very tasty with lots of options and served with a smile. If I'm ever in Napa again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Elm House Inn.
We really enjoyed our stay. We were celebrating my son's 30th birthday. Rooms are very attractive, comfortable and immaculate. The breakfast each morning was delicious and offered many choices with fresh ingredients. The staff is pleasant, friendly and quite helpful. What a great place which combines the amenities of a hotel and the warm and ambience of a bed and breakfast.
A cozy inn with attentive and cheerful staff. Central location to activities and restaurants in town; Staff very knowledgeable about the area and community; Very nice breakfast --not fast food! Inn is small --not large and busy for those who don't like large hotels. Nice fireplace in lobby.
This is not your typical Best Western - it's truly like a quaint little Inn. We have been staying at this location annually for the last 15 + years and love it every time. Great location, great food, great service, great people. You will be incredibly pleased with your stay.
We gave this hotel a try because it was number one on TripAdvisor. I think the number one ranking MAY be misleading all depending on what you are looking for in your NAPA hotel. In general, I think the positives that you see in the reviews are accurate. Everyone is friendly, the rooms are a good size, breakfast is included, etc. Some cons for this property were that the street noise is bad (room location may help, not sure tho). Also, the blinds were the big plastic "carribean type" blinds, which tend to let in a fair amount of light in the early morning (only an issue if you are a light sleeper like my wife). Also, the center of Napa has a lot of good restaurants, so, a hotel closer to the heart of town would let you access more by foot. That being said, it's only a short Uber to town. The hotel is in good shape, but not anywhere near brand new. The newer hotels provide more of what you are used to if you travel a lot in nicer hotels. Again, this is a great hotel. I would probably stay here again, but only if there was a fair price separation with some of the nicer Napa hotels (and if I was not planning on sleeping in).
My partner and I try to stay here every time we go to Napa, and we absolutely adore the INN. It's homey, warm and a place I will never forget. The breakfast was delicious and the owner of the INN was so kind and hospitable.
Elm House is totally awesome. Tom is the real deal. I would highly recommend it to all. We have stayed here many times and it is always a pleasure and we are always treated like family. The staff is very attentive and the breakfasts are delicious.
The staff was super friendly and outgoing. Staying there was more like a big bed and breakfast rather than a hotel. Breakfast was provided every morning and was delicious. Also every evening there was some sort of baked goody in the evening but they went quick! Great place to stay!
This is a small cozy place. Nice, helpful staff. Our main building first floor room waslarge and comfy. They serve a nice breakfast. At 6:00pm you get fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Good location to see Napa and Sonoma.
We stayed for several days and at the end were sorry we had to leave. Not at all the usual Best Western we encountered throughout the State. More like a family B&B, exceptional staff, great service, wonderful breakfast. We had the benefit of a tiny elevator, very handy. Easy parking and access to main routes. Also grocery stores nearby. Should return soon!
Great hotel! Friendly staff, very comfortable bed and pillows. Homemade waffles for breakfast were wonderful. Very homey filling with couch and fireplace and side chairs in the lobby More like a quaint inn than a hotel. We would definitely recommend. Rate we received was $126 for a king size room
The Elm House Inn is a wonderful B&B located just a short distance from downtown Napa. The Inn is comfortable, and exceptionally well maintained. Breakfast is included; the choices are numerous and the staff goes out of their way to give excellent service. We will definitely stay again.
More of a Bed & Breakfast then a hotel. Breakfast was included and very tasty. Location in Napa makes day trips easy. Friendly atmosphere, nicely appointed room. Hot tub looked inviting but never made it there.
This was such a lovely experience. From the minute we arrived everyone was so pleasant and helpful. The weather wasn't so good but we had such a warm welcome. We asked for some advice on wine tours and restaurants and the advice we got was excellent. We had a fabulous day on our wine tour which they booked for us. Both restaurants they recommended were excellent. ( again they made the bookings)The cookies were define. Breakfast was also excellent. Haven't had such good waffles any where else. 5 stars all round. Loved it. ??????
This Best Western Hotel is located two blocks off the Sonoma Square-heart of Sonoma shopping and restaurants! The hotel surrounds a beautiful courtyard which sports a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and a relaxing fire pit area. Most of the rooms in this two story hotel open to the courtyard. Our room was located on a corner of the building, an overly large room, so we had no view of the courtyard. Nevertheless, it was well furnished and clean! The only drawback was the breakfast dining room was located in a separate unattached building across the parking area of the hotel. But it was a lovely small dining room with two small outdoor courtyards! We would recommend this hotel for it's amenities, moderate price and close proximity to the Sonoma action!
Our room was large, well appointed and climate controlled. We had a small refrigerator, two sinks and a large bathroom. This inn is near to downtown Napa with plenty of sites to see, restaurants to visit and shopping to pursue. Breakfast was fun and quick. We had a daily choice of cereals, oatmeal, hard cooked eggs, waffles (regular and sweet potatoe), parfait, toasts, fine pastry. The coffee (reg and decaf) were of high quality and the range of teas was excellent.
We stayed here overnight for a quick weekend getaway. We often use Best Western Hotels because they have clean rooms and decent breakfasts. This place was a real surprise. It does not look like a hotel. Rather it is more like a B&B but with more privacy. It combines the best of both worlds. There are only 22 rooms and they are separated to give a more home like feel. In they evening, they serve warm cookies and milk and they have an assortment of books and magazines you can read. They even have 2 for 1 wine tasting coupons. Breakfast was great! They had a large bowl of fresh cut fruit, grapefruit halves, warm oatmeal with various toppings ( raisons, fruit, walnuts, sugar), yogurts. One of the best treats were the fresh from the oven orange poppyseed mini loaves of bread. They also fixed you waffles (regular or sweet potato) pancakes, and toast or bagels. They had a bowl of hard boiled eggs. If you are looking for bacon, sausage or scrambled eggs, this place is not for you or you should plan to breakfast elsewhere. (Oxbow market looks amazing.) One potential disadvantage could be that there are only 5 breakfast tables indoors for 22 rooms but one woman used one of the 3 outside tables and claimed it was very warm with the heaters and covered tarp. Also, with the range of breakfasts from 7-10, it did not seem to be a problem. There is also a dining table in your room. (Along with a small fridge.) I don't often go to B&B's because the hosts are sometimes overpowering but this truly combined the best of both worlds. One suggestion would be to put a cord in the bathroom over the tub to hang bathing suits after using the hot tub but that's not much of an issue. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay.
Lovely hotel. Chocolate cookies at 6p. Great full breakfast with helpful staff. Nice clean rooms with double sinks. Patio with hot tub outside. Only drawback was nosy traffic starting around 6am. Highly recommend. Near many wineries.
Delicious complementary breakfast, friendly staff, personalized service, refrigerator and microwave, and coffee maker in room. Had the feel of a B & B. Centrally located. only 24 rooms. Fireplace in room.
This place has a bed and breakfast feel. The free breakfast was great, the ladies at the front desk were very nice. The location was on a corner that was oddly busy with lots of beeping horns so a little loud.
Elm did not live up to my expectations. It gets very good ratings on trip and that puzzles me a bit. Perhaps it has to do with the form of a sort of personal house instead of a hotel. However, the location is not very good. You do need a car to get to Napa City, or walk for 20 min. Breakfast room was very tiny compared to number of guests. Breakfast itself did not offer any eggs besides hard boiled, no bacon, sausages etc. There is yogurt and some fruit. They will make pankakes or toasts on request. Rooms are good. Wifi is OK but not more.
We traveled as a couple last week to Napa and we were very pleased with this charming property. From the warm and gracious welcome to the last bite of the steaming sweet potato Belgian waffle on our last day at the Elm House Inn, our stay was nothing less than wonderful and relaxing. We enjoyed a lovely room with a king bed, larger bathroom and vanity area, and lots of room to move about in a sensibly designed space. Two large windows with adjustable shutters allowed light when we wished, and darkness when needed. The room was well appointed with lovely amenities such as pleasant soaps, hair needs, robes, hair dryer, iron, wine glasses, ice bucket, coffee maker/cups, etc. However, since the lobby is equipped with fresh, hot coffee 24 hours daily, there was no need to prepare coffee in our room, but it was nice to have the option. Did I mention fresh baked chocolate cookies every evening? I did not. Now is a good time to tell you about the bountiful breakfast that is prepared every morning and constantly refreshed throughout the service. You will never see the dregs of anything because every serving vessel is refilled frequently. Belgian waffles are made to order. Freshly prepared yogurt parfaits, fresh grapefruit halves, granola, hardboiled eggs, hot oatmeal and more make for a healthy breakfast if you so desire, but tea breads, fresh muffins, and assorted waffles with a charming pot of hot syrup are available for a splurge. Cold cereals and assorted bread for toast round out the meal, as well as assorted juices, teas, and coffee. The lovely lady responsible for all of this bounty is gracious and friendly. The front desk personnel are warm, friendly and efficient. The hotel, in the style of a B & B, attracts a nice clientele who are quiet and appreciate a good night's sleep, which you will obtain on the clean, crisp beds. We would return in a heartbeat to this lovely property. We did not spend time on the lovely patio, the gardens, or the immaculate and well-lit outdoor hot tub/spa, but do bring swim gear, and relax in the garden area with a glass of wine from your vineyard explorations. You won't regret it.
A gem of hotel made by the welcome and charm. Closer to the road than you think from website and can be noisy evening and first thing (07:30 onwards) but certain,y not all night. Rooms very comfy and spacious, bathrooms a bit on small side but great amenities that show the focus on little touches. We had an issue when we arrived but the speed and class of the front of house staff in resolving was amazing, great service. Thank you
We were very surprised and delighted when we checked in. The staff was amazing the ambiance great. The Inn Was Clean!! The breakfast and evening snacks were Perfect. Great location. Would recommend this to even the pickiest traveler????????????
This hotel had everything a vacation in Napa requires. 1. Great location 2. Attractive facility 3. Clean and efficient rooms 4. Fabulous breakfast included 5. An extremely helpful staff 6. Fireplace and music in the AM when having breakfast 7. Small hotel so reserve quickly
The Elm House was a pleasant surprise! I was highly impressed with the overall property and the quality customer service provided by the staff. Also, the complimentary breakfast is the best I've experienced in any hotel or inn throughout my Northern CA travels.
Waffle aroma fills the air with good morning. this is a cute B&B style that is not a typical Best Western hotel. I would qualify as the best of the best. The staff is great and this place is in a great location just off Napa downtown.
We had a room that looked out onto the street side and it was very noisy all day and in the night (despite being told that it will quieten down) we obviously heard every car that went past at night and were woken up by rush hour again in the morning. It is a wonderful hotel, probably better than the usual Best Westerns but the noisy was a big problem at least for us. The windows have zero isolation and the staff were rather rude when we complained saying it was NOT a problem The hotel is otherwise quaint and has good parking opportunities. Rooms are nice and the breakfast was good but a little on the heavy side, but thats a personal preference.
Not sure I want to give away Napa's best kept secret. The Elm House Inn is a quiet calm and an amazing find. The breakfast is awesome...not sure I was at a Best Western or a bed and breakfast specializing in breakfast treats. The location is so convenient - you can walk to the downtown Napa area and enjoy the restaurant scene. The only place to stay in Napa. Can't wait to return!
After a long flight and a few busy days we finally got to relax at the Elm House Inn. We felt right at home and enjoyed every minute we were there. Breakfast staff was wonderful. Welcoming atmosphere inside and out. Great location, if you are up for a little walk it is close to downtown. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
Great place to stay while visiting Napa, Would highly recommend to anyone! Breakfast is great and hottub is nice to return to after wine tasting all day! Great staff as well! Would definitely return when I come back to Napa
Wonderful personal service. The woman at the front desk when we checked in was extremely helpful. She answered our questions on where to get a quick lunch (excellent suggestion that we loved, the OxBow market) and gave us winery map and gave suggestions on her favorites that did not require appointments. She personally escorted us to our rooms. Made us feel like we were staying at a bed and breakfast! The lobby area was beautifully decorated for fall season with large fireplace. Breakfast was delicious and included fresh made waffles and sweet potato waffles. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The courtyard was very pretty and private and the hot tub was great place to relax in the evening. Would stay here again without hesitation!
We really enjoyed our stay at the BW Elm House Inn, which really feels more like a bed and breakfast. The hotel is a relatively small, which allowed for a more personal experience. Our room was comfortable and easy to access with either stairs or elevator. We enjoyed some time out on the patio and in the hot tub. And the cherry on top was the breakfasts which were made fresh and delicious each morning. My husband loved the sweet potato waffles. The staff was also very helpful and gave dinner recommendations along with making reservations for us.
Excellent hotel and value for the money in Napa. I would not stay in any other hotel in the area. The breakfast was wonderful although it lacked typical proteins/meats. The hot tub was great. It would have been nice to have a pool but we didn't miss it that much.
This is our second time at this hotel and it is still wonderful. Fantastic location in downtown Napa can't be beat. Rooms are really more like a B&B as they are individual and quaint. Had to make reservations way in advance as this hotel sells out quickly, especially on week ends but it is so worth the effort. Breakfast is included and it is great. Best item is still their sweet potato waffles made fresh although all the items are superb. Friendly staff makes everything so nice. Will be coming back here next time around too.
This smallish inn is stylish, friendly and conveniently located with adequate parking. We stayed for a week. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was large, comfy, with lots of amenities. Things to know: there are two buildings, separated by a courtyard. If you have mobility problems or don't wish to go outside to get to breakfast, be sure to request the main building. We had a 2 flight climb to our room, as it has no elevator access. The breakfast room is charming but cramped. When everyone shows up, it's pretty crowded. People can move to the patio, but even with heaters it was quite brisk. Breakfast is ample with homemade goodies, but still quite heavy on the carbs. Others talked about walking into town...many of the better restaurants are a mile or so away. We definitely chose to drive after dark.
Staff was very friendly. Directed me to local attractions which were a pleasure to visit. I was unable to stay for breakfast because I had a tour. However, I appreciated that they really wanted me to stay for breakfast. Room was clean, comfortable and ambiance was rustic, I really liked it. There was wifi. The only issue I had was that the front desk closes at a certain time, I wasn't sure how to get help if I had questions. Well it was very minor, I needed cutlery, so I stole it from one of the table settings. Bottom line, I will stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.
If your in this area this hotel is a must. A very homely type place and ideal for a short stay whilst in the Napa. Excellent rooms and a fantastic home prepared breakfast. Close to the local town for evening dinner and entertainment. The staff are fantastic and will accommodate all your needs.
Staff went out of the way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We were there for my husband's 50th birthday and the room was very nice. Location is very convenient to River Walk area. Breakfast was grade above typical free breakfast fare.
This is a homey inn with beautiful rooms and amenities. Wonderful staff, breakfasts, and warm cookies. Conveniently located in Napa. This was my first trip to Napa Valley, and I'm so glad we stayed at the Elm House Inn. I highly recommend it, no matter what kind of lodging you prefer.
One of the cleanest hotels I've had ever stayed at. Very attentive and friendly staff who make sure you are comfortable in every way. Now I know why it has 5 star reviews! Hotel felt like you were staying in someone's home and it felt very cozy with the fireplace. Breakfast and Wi-Fi is included. Breakfast is limited in choices. They do serve waffles, fruit, oatmeal, and freshly baked goods with coffee & tea selection. Don't expect omelets or bacon. It is a small hotel and many couples older and young stay at this location at least that is what I saw while being there. Would stay here again.
One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. It's basically like living in a large cozy home. We had a room on the ground floor which was perfect as we would just walk out and breakfast would be there, and we were closest to the fresh chocolate chip cookies that were put over every night at 6pm. In the common area there were also boardgames you could play, books to read, it's like living in your own home. Parking on both sides of the house and we never had trouble getting a spot. There's a hot tub/pool and a cute garden outside with laundry facilities and vending machine. Rooms were very comfortable and even though it felt homey, it still felt new. Located not too far from all the restaurants in the downtown area, a 5-10 min drive and maybe a 30 minute walk good for walking off a food baby. Not the cheapest place but Napa is not a wallet-friendly place anyway and this hotel really gave us a great experience.
We have stayed at the Elm House Inn in Napa two times - last year and again this year. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. We will definitely stay there next time we visit Napa!
Love this place! Great sized rooms unique and warm decor. We loved having a fireplace in our room. Quiet and charming! Breakfast is lovely and the staff even more so! We arrived quite late waking up our hostess she was so gracious! We will return!
This is our go to place to stay when we visit the valley. The property isn't large and the rooms book up quick. There is a good reason for this...the place is great. We have stayed here 6 times and will always come back. This time around we had a room in the outer building which was HUGE. We had a bathroom and a walk in closet with a separate sink which made getting ready in the mornings more efficient. Breakfast is one of the best things about this hotel as there is a lot of TLC put into it each day. Fresh made waffles to order, fresh baked muffins / cakes, fresh fruit, cereal, oatmeal, etc etc etc. The coffee is also always hot and fresh. You could easily spend $30-40 in town having breakfast for 2 for what you get here for free, so keep that in mind when you are looking at hotels. I will only ever stay somewhere else if they don't have a room available, thankfully that has not happened yet!
Don't think this is a best western chain hotel...it is NOT...it is family owned and operated and they take stellar care of it. We were upgraded to a king premium...HUGE plus a separate area with additional vanity area plus walk-in closet, tub etc. the staff was so wonderful. Very quiet and private. Sweet potato waffles for breakfast were amazing. Truly we were shocked at the quality and wonderful stay we had in what we thought was a chain and the price was amazingly reasonable. Can't wait to come back. Had a nice walk in the morning to downtown.
At first look this place appears to be a like a slightly refurbished "motel". But listen up- Stay here...you won't be disappointed! The staff and I mean all those we dealt directly with were wonderful, attentive, and full of informative. The room was quite large, albeit slightly dated decor, but comfy bed and pillows, decent tv and free internet. The breakfast was nicely laid out and again nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The only negative was the AC unit (very motel-ish old wall model) it worked well but it was noisy. The location was an easy ride from the quaint town.
Wonderful place to stay in Napa. The staff wenet above and beond. Very helpful, pleasnat and attentive staff. Hotel is spotless, breakfast was fabulous(freshly-made waffles every morning) and easy access to all roads leading to the wineries. We had a terrific stay here. The manager, Tom, was great and very heolpful We had a terrific stay.
On our Roadtrip Honeymoon, stopped in Napa for wine tasting and this is a great hotel to stay at. They are away from downtown so it is quiet and relaxing but not to far that an Uber or Lyft can't get you there for $5. You are within walking distance of wineries and restaurants. The staff is friendly and knowledge. The breakfast is awesome!!!! The make awesome from scratch items, have fresh fruits, and oatmeal with plenty of toppings!
Great pleace, great location and great service!! We loved the waffles at the breakfast and the cookies in the afternoon. Excelent attention, the room was clean and modern, well equiped. For sure an option if I ever get back to Napa.
This is a very nice place. Staff is very friendly. Room was very clean. Location is close to downtown Napa. During the course of a weeks vacation we stayed at 4 Best Western and this place was the nicest. Good options for breakfast were offered each morning. You had a choice of waffles, fresh fruit & pastries, hot oatmeal and cereal. You were served on regular plates/cups/silverware (all other locations had paper). Oh I can't forget the warm cookies served every evening.
Walking distance to downtown Napa... accommodations, staff, location were perfect for our first visit to Napa! Rooms were comfortable and immaculate. Breakfast was not your average "self-serve" - everything was fresh and delicious. Staff were there to serve and assist in any way. All the staff was lovely and so accommodating. I highly recommend the Elm House Inn!
Upon planning a trip for my mom and me to Napa we decided on this hotel, mostly because it was affordable. I have not stayed in many best westerns so you can say I was not a fan. However, this place is a gem! While it is a hotel, it gives the feeling of a bed and breakfast. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The staff made you feel like they knew you forever. Breakfast was amazing and free and they even had items for those of us who are gluten free. They serve cookies in the evening and because we missed them one evening, the manager saved them for us the next. I can say they go above and beyond for their guests. The location is close enough to wineries. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely stay here again if I am lucky enough to visit the area again. You will not be disappointed.
We spent three nights at this property while touring the Napa Valley and tasting lots of wine in the area. The innkeepers were very knowledgeable about the area, offering customers recommendations for wineries, restaurants, and walks to take. Each room had real wine glasses (not plastic!) for sipping back at the hotel. Breakfast was nice with hot meals available in addition to lots of fruit, cereals, and homemade granola. We enjoyed the hot tub each evening as well. Located just off CA 29, it was easy to find, easy to park the car, and a real treat. Comfortable bed also!
My wife and I stayed at the Inn for 2 nights during August. and it was a great experience. We wanted something that was within walking distance to downtown Napa, and was not an issue here, about a 10 minute easy walk through a very nice stretch of homes. The breakfast served daily 7:30-10:30 in a pretty setting is fresh and tasty. There is also a large hot tub and garden in the center of the Inn that felt very nice after a day of wine tasting. Wonderful and accommodating staff from the Innkeeper to the housekeepers.
Tom and his staff were excellent! The breakfast was like being at home. The stay at the Elm was a wonderful experience. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The service was great!! The Elm reminds me of a bed and breakfast. The atmosphere was very tranquil! The rooms were clean and in every room there is a fire place. The service was delightful! Tom and his staff were very gracious hosts and I would have to rate this hotel as one of the best I have ever stayed in.
A warm, welcoming, relaxing ambiance. Perfect location for both the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. The special recipe evening cookies are to die for. The breakfasts are wonderful especially the sweet potato waffles. The owner, Tom and staff are friendly, helpful and attentive to detail.
This was such a wonderful deal for Napa! Our room was huge and very clean. Cute blue and yellow toile theme. We got a larger room and I loved the separate dressing area/place to do my makeup. Kind and friendly staff. Glad I read all the great reviews for this place and booked it. Good way to save money on lodging so you can buy more wine!!! : )
Well-located, charming, quiet B&B-like hotel with easy access to the main freeway in Napa Valley. Staff were warm and friendly and catered to our every need. Fantastic healthy breakfast with loads of beautiful fresh fruit. Downtown Napa is less than a mile away - a quick drive or Uber ride away to fine, fun dining venues (ZuZu and Torc were outstanding!). One cool morning, we walked from the hotel to Napa Coffee Roasters in downtown Napa - a nice 2-mile roundtrip walk past beautifully restored Craftsman and Victorian style homes. Would definitely stay there again.
I did a lot of research when looking for a place to stay on a 2 night vacation with my wife. Trip advisor rated this hotel #1, and it was evident when we first walked in. The staff were super friendly and accomodating, and the atmosphere was terrific, very laid-back and calm. There were terrific warm baked cookies each night at 6, but i must say to get there on time before theyre gone. Breakfast was amazing, and the ladies cooking made to order waffles were fast and friendly. Rooms were everything you needed, and very spacious. Walk to downtown was definitely doable, we did it each day. I also recommend going downtown bc there are so many different shops and restaurants, and all really close by. UBER is the way to travel in Napa if you're not driving yourself. I cant wait to come back for another vacation, the only downfall is that it was too short. City and Hotel both get an A+ from me.
Elm House offers just as much, if not more, than many of Napa Valley's better known hostelries, with hospitality as welcoming as its rates. Located just off CA-29, Elm House is a good base for visiting vineyards while within walking distance of downtown Napa. Although they don't have a fitness center, they do provide passes to a well-equipped facility very close by. Great staff, nice rooms, and an exceptional breakfast. Tip: Don't miss the waffles!
Cannot say enough wonderful things about the elm house, the owner, workers , rooms, breakfast, location, everything!!!!! Cannot wait to return, and recommend to all friends and family!!!! Truly was a highlight if our first trip to Napa.
We were very happy with our stay here. It is a small, clean, well-known run place. Our room was large, the bed was comfortable, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Breakfast was also quite good... Maybe the best waffles I've ever had. The location is also a plus, right in Napa, and close to everywhere.
My wife and I stayed here on our first visit to the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. We based our selection on the reviews we read here on Tripadvisor, and they were totally on track! The hotel feels more like a bed and breakfast. I wish more hotels were like this. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, pointing out wineries and had maps. It was like a trip to the visitor centre. Our room was large and we loved the 3 piece bath with a separate room with sink. That room even had the luggage racks laid out for our suitcases. A/C was cold, bed was comfy and the wifi was rock solid. Breakfast was served in the main room each morning and there was a fabulous layout - much better than I've experienced in say a Holiday Inn Express. They even offer to make you a waffle - with your choice of a sweet potato or regular mix. Can't say enough about it - the spa (hot tub) was lovely. There is a patio where you can enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day and inside, a gas fireplace. Way to go, guys!
Loved this hotel and the staff. Comfortable, clean rooms and the staff was attentive to our needs and comfort. Great breakfast!! Very close to restaurants and shopping in Napa. Would highly recommend this hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in such a clean and well-presented Hotel perfectly located for rad access up and down the valley and for us to walk downtown every evening. Special breakfast - home-made treats then and at tea-time - coffee always the freshest in the house! Not set up as a bar/restaurant but that was our choice - we were delighted to find great room facilities and a cute little outdoor Jacuzzi.
Good location, away from the hassle and bustle but within a short drive of the city center for restaurants and wine tasting etc. Warm welcome upon arrival. This is a small hotel which is good. As another writer put it, "it's like a B&B". Most wonderful breakfast, everything from granola to waffles and eggs. No pool but that means no children. Whilst I have kids I hate screaming so this is a wonderful place to relax. There is a hot tub though which is most welcome. Extremely clean hotel. Thoroughly recommended.
Upon driving up to this hotel, the first impression was of a cute B&B. The staff was very welcoming when we went in; the reception area is comfortable; the rooms are nicely arranged. Everything was inviting. The location was not far from downtown Napa, & it is walkable. It is also quite close to the wineries. The morning "continental" breakfast is anything but continental. I've had less food choices at a "full breakfast" hotel. Everything is fresh. Even the cereals were delicious. The banana bread was to die for. You could get a waffle cooked as well as eggs and bacon, or you could get a waffle cooked with an egg and bacon in the center of the waffle. Josefina and Bertha do an excellent job on all the food and are very attentive. We weren't around for the afternoon tea, but the evening cookies are very, very good. I would stay here again in an instant, and I intend to do so.
We had a fantastic few days at Elm House as part of our honeymoon trip. The staff and service were second to none, grounds and rooms were immaculate. There were little touches such as fresh baked cookies and milk at 6:00pm daily which just added to the personal feel of the inn. We won't look past this hotel when we return to Napa in the future!
Although the reviews for this hotel were already good, I was surprised at how accurate they were! The inn was adorable, with a great breakfast and friendly staff who made you feel welcomed and at home. It was in a good location to visit the wineries. I would definitely stay there again if I find myself in Napa!!
This was my third time visiting Napa, and I loved the Elm House Inn so much, I couldn't possibly stay anywhere else. It's a perfect blend of hotel and B&B. Clean, comfortable, great service, affordable, good location, and excellent breakfast! Stop looking and stay here! You can walk to downtown Napa but (around 1 mile), but it's also easy to Uber if you don't want to walk or drive.
Great experience as usual. We booked 3 rooms as we have done in the past while visiting Napa. The staff was very hospitable. They remembered us from previous visits. The place is cozy and makes you feel like you are at home. Breakfast was served early and everything was fresh. The food presentation and the set-up was very appealing. We will continue to stay at this location in our future visits to Napa.
My husband and I stayed at the Elm house for few nights during a two week California trip. We really enjoyed our stay at the Elm house. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The grounds are very pretty and everything felt very peaceful. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. We would recommend this hotel if visiting wine country.
Stayed here for while exploring wine country. Great hospitality and service! Amazing breakfast! Convenient highway access and not far from downtown Napa. I would love to come back and stay here again! With an early departure to make it to SFO on time, they packed us a breakfast to go. Above and beyond service!
Very good hotel. More like a bed and breakfast. The staff is very helpful and rooms very clean. Highly recommend. Breakfast is out of this world good. We almost did not go here as we were concerned that it is a Best Western. Owner is on site to make sure all is well.
Room had more of the feel of the guest sweet in private home. It was super clean and comfortable. Great attention to detail. Wonderful choice of breakfast items, and we were also offered homemade waffles. Tables were beautifully set up inside as well as the cute outdoor space. Only about 1 mile to downtown Napa.
If you are staying in Napa, this is the place to stay. Pros: The staff is so friendly and accommodating! The breakfast is probably considered super continental but is great. There are home baked "muffins" (which are small loaves) every morning. There are regular and sweet potato waffles, cereal, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, toast, english muffins, and awesome oatmeal with anything you can imagine to put in it. Also, at 6:00pm every day there are amazing home baked cookies available. There is also fruit flavored water available in the lobby almost all of the time. The rooms and overall hotel is so clean and comfortable. There is a small hot tub (although we wished there were lounge chairs). The outdoor seating around the grounds are great as well. The rooms have robes, wine glasses, coffee and a small fridge. Really anything you need. There really are no negatives about the place (other than the barking dog that lives next door but what can you do). It's also very conveniently located to everything. Overall, it's a great destination!
Our room was nicely appointed, clean and comfortable, but furnishings were a bit tired. Breakfast was included and was the big selling point of the hotel. Best I have ever had at a chain hotel! In that sense this was more like a bed and breakfast. Location was on the edge of a residential neighborhood which we walked through to get to area of Napa that had lots of restaurants and activity. It was about a 20 minute walk.
We try to visit our daughter in SF at least once a year and spend a couple of days tasting wine in Napa. Best Western Elm is always the best place to stay for quality, value, very good continental breakfast and home baked chocolate chip cookies in the evening. Tom, the manager/owner, is always incredibly helpful. We look forward to our next stay.
Let's get out of the way what the Best Western Elm House is NOT. It is not posh or opulent. It is not a fancy resort. It does not have a swimming pool, a gym or a golf course. If you're looking for any of that, stop reading and look at one of the larger hotels or resorts, but expect to pay 2x to 3x the price of the Best Western. Now let's talk about what the Best Western Elm House IS. It's quaint, romantic and homey. It's unlike any Best Western we've every stayed at. It's more of a cute bed and breakfast than a hotel. The rooms are nice, spacious and clean with decor more suited for a B&B. There are double sinks in the bathroom, which is nice. The shower has good pressure and the curved shower curtain rod that gives you a lot more space to move. The bed and pillows are comfortable. The windows have plantation shutters instead of drapes, adding to the B&B feel. And the wifi is free and relatively fast. The staff was the nicest staff of pretty much any hotel we've ever stayed at. They were extremely pleasant and helpful, and they made homemade breakfast every morning. We did not go out for breakfast because theirs was so good. They had homemade breakfast cakes (different every morning, but we had poppyseed with slivered almonds on top, blueberry as well as chocolate chip banana), awesome waffles, homemade granola, fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea, milk and orange juice. The small garden out back is very quaint and romantic. We sat out there drinking our coffee in the morning. The location is great. It's a mile from downtown Napa and one street off the 29, so it's super easy to head North to wineries or South to Oakland or San Francisco. There is also a gym 2 blocks away (Custom Health and Fitness) where you can get guest passes for $10 per day. It wasn't the fanciest gym, but it had all of the free weights, machines and cardio equipment one would need to work off all the wine you're likely to consume. If you do go, take you're own towel and water bottle or cup (they have a water dispenser but no cups). We did not want to leave and we will definitely be going back.
This hotel is completely unique, and we were in awe of the entire experience!!! From the great location, to the wonderful staff, and incredible food.....this is one of the best places we have ever stayed!!!! (And we travel frequently!) We were truly amazed by our experience at Elm House Inn!!
We traveled in Feb 2016 with 3 other couples, this hotel was awesome option. The breakfast each morning was gourmet style with excellent options. We were on the 2nd floor, with 4 rooms, all the rooms were nice. This is a old house converted to a small Best Western Inn feels much more like a bed and breakfast. Very friendly staff and great prices
We stayed three nights here for our 30th wedding anniversary. I spent time researching properties and decided I didn't want to spend our entire budget on lodging. Am glad we stayed here, and here's why... This property is quaint and tries hard. The people who run it care, and that's reflected in their presence each morning during breakfast, refilling coffee mugs and asking if you'd like some of their homemade granola (yes, please, along with another sweet potato waffle!). Having breakfast out on the small patio each morning with the newspaper was a treat. Our room was on the third floor, had 2 sinks (a plus when getting ready in the morning), a king bed and a flatscreen TV. Best thing about our room was the bed. We slept well on a great mattress and nice cotton linens. The a/c worked fine and added a nice layer of white noise for perfect sleeping conditions. The only reason I'm giving this property a 4 instead a 5 is the decor. Things look a bit faded and dated. And we had two mechanical issues while we were there: the mini-refrigerator door not shutting (quickly replaced or repaired) and one of the sinks not draining properly. Not big deals. Remember in the end the ratings are for a well-run facility. It's a 3-star hotel getting rave reviews for being attentive and a value-play in expensive Napa Valley.
The hotel is like a bed and breakfast ... Like many of the reviews have stated. It was one of the reason i selected it... I was disappointed that I was not treat special for my birthday ... Since it was a big one. The breakfast is county and better than most best western .. They make you waffles and have regular and sweet potato ... Beware the sweet potato have bacon in them... Which they did not tell us ... So if you want to try them with out asks or no bacon... The second day I did and much better. If you are in the main blg. There is the street noise ... I think if they would invest in better double pane Windows ,the noise would not be so bad. My partner was up most of the night The place is clean and again above a standard best western .
I was attending an accounting conference at another hotel about 2 blocks up the street but did not want to stay in the large, more expensive hotel. This one was like a cosy B&B but bore the Best Western name. Room 206 was roomy, double vanity, clean and well appointed. No extra charge for internet or excellent breakfast. About 20 minute walk to the center of town if you are a walker. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Excellent location right off CA 29 and about 1 mile from the center of town.
Was skeptical staying in a Best Western, but it really is like a privately managed boutique inn. Loved the breakfast, loved the service, loved the snacks throughout the day! Good location, also near the napa outlets (which are awesome), comfy bed, great room, overall a fantastic stay.
What a wonderful place to stay. Beautifully decorated rooms, convient walking distance to downtown, outstanding knowlegeable and friendly staff and exceptional breakfast. This "hotel" felt like a bed and breakfast with its intimate atmosphere and service. My husband and I stayed two days and would definitely come back again.
We had another lovely stay at Elm House Inn. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are very large, clean, bright and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, I just wish the sweet potato waffles had no calories. If we return to Napa, we would stay at the Elm House Inn very happily
Not sure what to expect, but based on previous reviews, felt it would be a good choice. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to stay in Napa for only $134/nt on our way home from an Oregon trip. The room was very spacious and clean with a comfortable King bed. Breakfast was a step up from other BW Hotels we stayed in, with better food and service than typical BW's. They made me poached eggs and I heard they were also making sweet potato waffles, in addition to regular waffles. They had homemade poppy seed loaves and blueberry loaves, hot oatmeal, plenty of other typical continental breakfast options, including fresh fruit. I'd stay again. The staff was all very conscientious.
The Elm house was a great hotel for our 4 day stay. The room was super spacious and nice and clean. It was very quiet and peaceful. The staff was wonderful, especially the breakfast team. And the breakfast was fantastic, the fresh fruit was very welcome considering all the heavy eating we did elsewhere. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Napa.
My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at this cozy hotel. All of the staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The breakfast was perfect and the coffee was good. Our king bed and extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the fireplace in our room. The location was great for driving anywhere in Napa and it was a nice mile walk to downtown--perfect for walking off dinner!
You would never guess that this Best Western is one of the homiest, loveliest places to stay in Napa. We've stayed at boutique hotels, large chains, even private residences in Napa. This is our new favorite and we WILL be back. AMAZING breakfast, courteous staff, it feels like a bed and breakfast. It is not the newest hotel, but, it is very comfy and welcoming.
Our stay at the Elm House Inn was brief but wonderful - the hotel was beautifully maintained, all staff were friendly and helpful, and the grounds had a lovely little garden and outdoor patio. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with friends or family. Likely not suitable for younger children as it's a quiet area., but there were older children present during our stay.
Surprisingly nice and quaint place to stay. Owner and staff go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. Rooms are quiet and extremely good and varied breakfast offering. Staff will even make fresh eggs and has gluten free bread available.
This is a hotel built to look like a home . the gardens are not unlike those in small inns in the Cotswolds in the UK... exceptional and welcoming. All rooms open into a common inside court where breakfast is served . The lady in charge made a determined effort to make certain every detail was attended to. Highly recommend.
The staff at the Best Western PLUS Elm House Inn in Napa go above and beyond to meet the needs of guests and to make them feel welcome. The sweet potato pancakes were delicious. The other breakfast items were also of great quality, including a freshly baked cinnamon orange loaf. Staff was also helpful with questions about local restaurants. The hotel is kept up nicely, gardens pretty. Great place to stay!
I would highly recommend this Best Western Plus in Napa Valley. It isn't like a regular BW but more of an upscale boutique type inn with nicely appointed rooms, very clean, and nice grounds. The free breakfast is excellent and more than a regular hotel free breakfast. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. Don't miss this one!
What a cozy place to stay. Absolutely well furnished and decorated, fireside lobby, spacious and comfortable room, even with USB power adaptor left and right from the bed and at the table, so convenient! The highlight: the fabolous and kind host at morning!
My husband and I spent two nights. It was recommended by the owner of Hidden Jeep Wine Tours. Our room was spacious, clean and had several special touches (a clean remote in a little bag, q-tips and Cotten balls) that were appreciated. The breakfast was amazing. They had homemade out meal with about 15 different toppings, fresh fruit, yogurt, several different kinds of toast and made-to-order Belgium and sweet potato waffles. At 6 pm they put out homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk. The eating area has a fire place that was lit every morning or you could sit outside on the patio. The grounds were clean and had well tended roses. The hot tub was nice to use at night and was complete with a handicap chair lift. We were on the second floor right next to the elevator. We never heard it. The rooms were well insulated and we never heard any outside noise. There are some rooms on the first floor right off the eating area. The hosts took great pains to speak quietly and not bang dishes, but I was happy to be on he second floor. There was also a little building in the back of the property with rooms. We had a very pleasant stay and will definitely use this Inn again.
This is our second visit to the Elm House Inn in Napa. After having such a wonderful stay last year, we decided to return. We had another great stay. Our room was roomy and very quite. The breakfasts were fabulous! We enjoyed Sweet Potato Waffles and Poached Eggs, along with fresh fruit, oatmeal, Elm House Granola, juice and various breads, plus much more. The weather was excellent the whole time we were there. This year, we were there for an entire week, and maybe next year it will even be longer! And the Hot Tube, really helped remove the stress and strain of daily life!
This is NOT your average Best Western. Our travel agent recommended it and, as is typical for us, we were thrilled. Our room was in an adjacent building, not the main house; it was spacious with a huge bath. And the small courtyard that connected it to the breakfast room and main house was beautiful. Breakfasts were fabulous ... and the afternoon cookies were great.
We probably would not have chosen a "Best Western" if it weren't for it being #1 on TripAdvisor. I had some doubts especially when we first checked in but I ended up being pleasantly surprised and would stay here again in a heartbeat. I have never stayed at a bed and breakfast but I imagine the Elm House being a mix between b&b and hotel. All rooms open up to the "living" area and in the morning they have a delicious "homemade" continental breakfast including the best banana bread I have ever eaten in my life. The location was great as we were able to walk to and from dinner (probably a 15 min walk to quite a few restaurants). In the evening the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies is sure to put a smile on your face (especially after a day of wine tasting). Would highly recommend the Elm House Inn.
From the moment we checked in until check out this Inn, which I presumed was a motel style accommodation due to it being a Best Western was a pleasant surprise. This property is like a B&B where there is a very welcoming lounge area downstairs with an open fire and tables for breakfast, reading and an evening drink. The innkeeper Tom and his guest services ladies Bertha, Christina and Lucy were very helpful people who all loved their job and were customer focused 100% of the time and very cheery and friendly. Our room on the first floor was next to the lift at the rear of the building and overlooked the larger car park was very quiet, large and as the property has just had new beds was a slice of heaven in Napa. The room had 2 vanity units, one where the shower/toilet was and another in an alcove adjacent was a bonus as there was an area to clean your teeth and get ready in a bright area away from shower/toilet. There was a couple of comfy seats and a table to wind down and partake of the local wines and also dedicated USB ports for us to charge our devices in this mobile world with super fast free Wi-Fi. There was a fridge and also an ice machine outside as well as a small freezer on the stair landing which had small zip lock bags of ice to cool our drinks, a nice touch. And now to the breakfast which was included.... cereal, fresh fruit and waffles as well as all of the included extras that we have never seen before at a hotel breakfast before. The staff were extremely helpful with dining recommendations and when we asked them we always had a local limo company pick us up for the approx. $5.00 fare into the main restaurant area. In the afternoon there were cookies on offer which were freshly baked and they were the tastiest I have ever had. Hoping to return next year from Australia.
Very cute and homey! Close to Napa wineries. Great breakfast included. Waffles made to order! Sweet Potato waffles ! Very clean , quiet place! Close to great restaurants! We ate at the Napa Bistro. Would definitely recommend this to my friends!!
We stayed just one night..a quick wine country get away. What a gem-comfy bed, air conditioned, pretty landscaping, FRIENDLY staff. Close to the freeway and all of Downtown Napa. Next time we'll bring our swim suits and take a soak in the hot tub. Breakfast is delicious-so many great choices, in a well lit room, or a darling patio. The waffles were cooked perfectly-regular or sweet potato. We chatted with Berta-thank you for making us feel so welcome!! Really looking forward to our next stay??
This is a VERY small hotel, I think only about 20 rooms. The service is friendly and personal. The rooms are very nice, even a fireplace (it would have been nice if it hadn't been 90 degrees). The highlight was breakfast. After traveling around northern California and eating some rather mediocre free breakfasts, this was a great change. They had almond poppy seed muffins (actually small loaves) that were fabulous. They also made waffles, regular and sweet potato. Notice I said they made. As you go through the line they ask if you want one and then bring it to you. Also, no paper or plastic, you get china, glasses and real silverware. It is worth it for the food alone!
My daughter and I had a wonderful 2 night stay. The room was large, very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very nice and the sweet potato waffles are the bomb!!! I highly recommend for those who want a nice b and b feel! We will be back!!!!
I'm not easy to please, but the Elm House Inn was absolutely perfect! As if the warm delicious cookies that greeted us would not be enough, Lucy made certain we were completely taken care of. She booked our hot air balloon ride, and we had the time of our life. Lucy, we can't thank you enough!
My wife and I love this place. We have stayed there for our wedding anniversary and my birthday. Soon we will be going back for her birthday. What a combination... Napa Country wineries, restaurants and Elm House. This wonderful, small boutique accommodation makes you feel at home. The staff are friendly and so hospitable. The breakfast is fantastic and breakfast facilities are cozy and charming. To paraphrase General Douglas MacArthur "we will be back."
Very happy with the Elm House Inn. Don't be scared off by the best western brand. Enjoyed a comfortable room and awesome breakfast. Home made granola and breads to wake up too after a long day of wine tasting work perfectly.
Wonderful location, service, and rooms. It's about a 15 min walk from downtown Napa, but close to major highways and roads. It's run by a husband and wife who are very personable, so it's practically a B&B with the Best Western name. Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend, and would stay there again. Also, their homeade granola is incredible.
Home like atmosphere. Large very clean room, comfortable king size bed. Plenty of parking, friendly owners that have all the means to accommodate you. In our case we had purchased wines from our tour and they made arrangements to have someone pick them up at the Inn packed them and shipped them to our home. Did I tell you that each morning you woke up to a GREAT breakfast that is included with your room fee. We had to leave very early the morning of our departure so a to go breakfast was packed for use at their insistence. We were over the top Happy with our stay and plan to revisit. This is our view. One other thing that I think is important. If you need an elevator request a room in the main house.
The owner Tom and all of his staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best, And it was. They were great from the time we checked in to the time we left. The Breakfast was also great with all the attention to the little details that made it outstanding, with the choice of waffles to poached eggs to the orange infused water later in the day, with the top off of fresh cookies and milk or coffee at the end of the day. The rooms were very well stocked with fresh towels and the fridge came in handy for any thing we needed cold. I recommend this hotel to all who go to Napa or even Sonoma( which is only a 15 min drive) to stay at.
Our second time around at this B and B masquerading as a Inn . Unbelievable breakfasts with everything you would want. Made to order waffles and eggs. Cookies and milk at 6 PM. Hot tub. Always cordial hosts. Spacious rooms and great location. If I am staying in Napa , I will stay here again.
I wanted to find an affordable location that was central to downtown Napa but close enough to Rutherford where many of the wineries I enjoy are located. When I saw that Best Western Elm House I was concerned that it would be too 'budget' like but found it an incredible value with home like charm and boutique style service. As all the reviews mention, Tom and Connie the innkeepers do an incredible job to make the Inn feel warm, inviting and like staying with old friends. They bake fresh cookies and offer a breakfast with waffles, fresh fruit and oatmeal with many treats alongside that has been better than any continental breakfast I've ever experienced. We stayed in a room at the upper level which involves climbing stairs (so might not be ideal for some) however they do have rooms on ground level. Likes: Great value, friendly, clean and free parking and breakfast Notes: It's a 15min drive to Yountville where there are many wineries and restaurants that we prefer. While it's not great to have to drive if you're having a late dinner, it is close off the highway and fairly direct.
This hotel feels more of a bed and breakfast. Attention to the fine details make this place stand out. Breakfast and cookies made daily. Rooms feel like a modern hotel but everything else is bed and breakfast. Beautiful landscaping and a short 4 minute drive to downtown or a 15 minute walk. Highly recommend this place for comfort and service as well as location to downtown restaurants while in Napa.
We stayed here for a couple days on our trip to Napa. The hotel felt more like a bed and breakfast. Every morning they have scrumptious breakfast and at night they serve homemade chocolate chip cookies to die for. I bet you can't just have one. People that worked there were very pleasant and were attentive to what you need. The service was excellent. The hotel is in a perfect location and for the price you pay, very reasonable for the area. I would definitely stay here again.
Great hotel! No complaints. Wonderful customer service. Breakfast on the patio was excellent. Shops and restaurants were only a short uber ride away. Walking was also a good option. The wineries in Napa are incredible!
This hotel is just great. Tom and Connie own the Inn and really put a lot of hard work and dedication to make this place feel like home. It's clean, the grounds are beautiful and the breakfast that is served in the morning there is OUT OF THIS WORLD! The beds are super comfortable and the showers are decent with good amount of water pressure. It's about 20-30 min away from the start of the wineries on Hwy 29 but a great quiet spot off the freeway and hustle of the central part of wine country. I cannot wait to come stay here again!
I met old friends, rediscovered very good, although expensive wines in a B B setting. Very comfortable, clean, with a great breakfast. We visited off brand wineries, and some old friends like Chateau Montalena the winery where the movie Bottle Shock showed how Napa shared honors with France and changed the landscape of Napa forever. We took the Wine Train at night and had a lovely meal. Throughout the staff at Bw was very helpful.. I will tell you craft wines at Napa are up pricing too high for normal wine drinkers. $60 to $100 plus is getting in the nuts category.
This is the 3rd time we've stayed at the Best Western Plus Elm House Inn and my 2nd review. We stayed in the adjoining building this time and loved it equally! Rooms are clean and roomy and a bit larger than the Inn building. Only wish there was access to the rooms behind us (we had 4 couples staying - 2 on one side - 2 on the other). Bertha, Tom and staff are always kind, helpful and accommodating. The cookies in the afternoons are delightful and the reception area smells like grandma's house. Breakfast is always fresh and ample. If you're looking for a comfy, homey place more like a B&B, this is where you should stay! See you next year Elm House!
We use this hotel as our base when we visit Napa. Generally very quiet and very good breakfast easy access to29. Clean quiet where you aren't part Of a 300 room establish. The staff is very helpful. Ample parking. The only negative for a hotel in this price range is that there is no microwave in the room or the common area.
It tends to be more of a Best Western, and not a B and B. The room was pleasant, and the rates were very resonable for the area. What give the hotel 5 stars is the staff. They were exceptional and extremely kind. The customer service is outstanding. I would stay here again, and would recommend to others.
The service was excellent, breakfast was very good and accommodating to my daughter's gluten free diet. Very clean, amazing bed sheets, close to downtown tourist destinations and restaurants, and also to a lot of wineries. My family and I would definitely stay here again.
I have to say this Best Western was very impressive and much like a B&B. Our room was clean and roomy. There was a wonderful breakfast bar in the morning with homemade muffins, cereal, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, various breads, and freshly made waffles. In the early evening there are warm chocolate chip cookies and milk. They provide wine glasses in the room and will loan you a corkscrew. I believe the owner, a gentleman at the front desk, is very helpful with winery recommendations and directions. Restaurants are short walk from the inn through a nice neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again. It is not cheap but seriously nothing is cheap in Napa. That being said with breakfast included that helps to offset the cost.
We stayed for four nights to explore Napa and the surrounding areas. Very comfortable beds and pillows, very clean hotel, but more like a bed and breakfast. Good free breakfast and good coffee. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. The distance to downtown is more like 4 to 5 tenths of a mile or three long blocks. Napa, like San Francisco is expensive, food and wines both.
Room was large and comfortable. Staff were amazing. The location was a little out of the way, but downtown is about a 15-30 minute walk. Highly recommend if you are staying in Napa. Would stay here again without any hesitancy.
A very pleasant stay at the Elm House Inn, very generous sized room, which was comfortable & clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly & it was obvious they want their guests to enjoy their stay. It's the little touches that count, including the 6pm cookies, straight out of the oven. Yum. The attention to detail in the tastefully decorative & practical side of the Inn really shine through, giving a warm homely feel. Breakfast provides a wide enough selection to suit everyone's tastes. Easy parking at the door a bonus. Overall a great stay & we would definitely recommend.
Napa is a pretty and pleasant town. This hotel fits into the same category.Generous room size ,great attention paid attention to detail and excellent breakfast. About 20 minutes walk from downtown main street.Free parking for hotel guests.
Charming B&B packaged as a hotel. If you like great service and feeling like you're staying with relatives that adore you the Elm House Inn fills the bill. Make sure to take advantage of the world's best chocolate chip cookies at 18:00 sharp. We loved our stay!!! Would have rated it a 6 but they lose a point for few GF breakfast offerings. They still get a 5 because I love gluten and thoroughly enjoyed breakfast! We hope to be lucky enough to return.
Lovely establishment, much like a bed and breakfast. Very nice rooms which are sparkling clean. Breakfast is a treat, with both self-serve offerings and prepare to order options. Food is VERY good. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. I'm probably being a little picky with the four star rating. The ONLY distraction was the street noise at night. We found that the noise could be avoided by requesting one of the rooms in the rear block. You will definitely enjoy a stay with these fine people.
We loved our stay at this Best Western. Most like a B&B. 17 rooms in main house 5 in house in backyard. Huge room, nicely decorated and very clean. Wonderful breakfast of muffins, fruit, cereal and Fresh Belgian waffles in quaint dining area of lobby or you could eat at heated patio nearby. Staff made you feel like family. Fresh roses all around nice garden like area surrounding hot tub. Wish I could find more places like this!!
We have just returned from 5 days at the Elm House Inn. We could not have picked a more perfect place to call home base while we toured the Napa Valley. We traveled with 3 other couples and all agreed that this property checked off all the boxes. The rooms were comfortable and well decorated. The inn itself has a bed and breakfast feel as other reviewers have mentioned. Breakfast was delicious every day and Bertha was especially gracious each morning. Lucy, behind the desk was also quite helpful in giving us direction. We will all recommend the Elm House Inn to anyone looking for comfort, great location and warm hospitality at a reasonable price.
We were extremely pleased with the comfort and service at this hotel--it has the atmosphere of a B & B, and is located in a residential area convenient to Route 29 to the wine country. Our room was very quiet even thought it was on the first floor next to the common area, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were very complete. The evening chocolate chip cookies were outstanding, and we especially appreciated their providing Peerless Coffee both for our room coffee maker, for breakfast, and during the day. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Napa.
Great location, very personable staff, clean room, and good food! All in all, a little nugget in Napa for those of you who prefer a more intimate hotel experience. Breakfast was surprisingly generous and the staff adds charming touches such as the beautiful fresh garden roses they place all around the main room.
The room was small but very nicely decorated. Even on the third floor though we can still hear car noises. Breakfast was very good. Waffle was made to order although the only protein was hard boiled eggs. They served freshly baked cookies at 6pm but we're sorry missed it because we had a dinner out. There's nothing to do walkable nearby but the restaurants are just a few minutes away by car. The staff were lovely.
We stayed here in late March. It was but a short stop from the Highway and this provides easy access to all the nearby vineyards. Incidentally although we did not visit the outlets there is a premium outlets complex on the other side of the highway. We were on the ground floor after being checked in by a very friendly lady on the desk. Any worries for later about noise did not occur as we had a great nights sleep with absolutely no disturbances in a comfortable room that was better equipped than some other rooms we had on our tour. Car parking was on site and there were two parks at either side of the building. It was a short walk into Napa itself about 25 mins through residential streets which appeared very safe. If you walk along 3rd street there are some stores about a 15 minute walk away. At breakfast the next morning we met the owner who was a lovely man who took great pride in both in his premises and the local area. Breakfast was really good and the promotion of waffles was well deserved. a really great base and extremely nice staff and building. So glad I read earlier reviews and decided to book.
Our first trip to Napa and my wife and I were blown away by the entire hotel and its staff. I looked at B&B's in the area and settled on this hotel based on reviews and price. We have stayed at many B&B's on the east coast and this experience rivals any that we have been to. Although it is not a B&B it might as well be. The staff friendliness, the homey feel, the ability to sit and visit with fellow international travelers and the wonderful breakfast made this a hidden gem in Napa.
The staff were very pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. The owner was present the entire time we were there visiting. He often asked us if we needed anything and how our day went. The location was very conveniently located to downtown and easy access to the freeway. We would most definitely spread the word to our friends, family and colleagues. My husband and I would stay here again. :)
Recently, my wife and I stayed at the Elm House Inn for five nights. Don't let the Best Western name scarce you. This is more like a small inn with only 18 rooms. We had a nice quiet large room on the third floor. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. A real treat were the homemade waffles and muffins along with fresh fruit for breakfast that was included with room tariff. Finally, room rates were very reasonable for Napa Valley.
Finished out a week of traveling by spending 2 days in Napa at this Inn. Grounds are very well cared for and look great. While not a B&B, personalized attention from helping make our breakfast, having warm cookies and milk available in the late PM and helping us first timers by telling us where to go and what to see in Napa was terrific. Only negative is that two separate unconnected buildings meaning we stepped out into the environment every time we left our room.
Long story short: if you want to have the feel home feeling while your stay come to the Elm House Inn. The rooms (Deluxe Double) are big and cosy, the breakfast extremely satisfying, and the staff extremely lovely and proactively helpful. Fresh homemade cookies are offered in the afternoon / evening. Coffee is available for takeaway at any time. Ask for restaurant recommendations if you are unsure where to go. They will help you to find the right spot.
This place was a real find in Napa. Although the prices are not inexpensive, they are reasonable for Napa. The location was very easy to find. The staff was very warm and friendly. Some of the best chocolate chip cookies were baked everyday at six pm. Breakfast was terrific as well with lots of fresh fruit, homemade muffins, and hot foods cooked to order. When we brought cheese, bread, and wine and ate in their living room they brought us plates and utensils and glasses. It really felt like home.
Convienent location, clean, large room. Thermostat did not work,no elevator, with two flights of stairs and two heavy bags. Overpriced at $250+ per night. In retrospect, should have chosen the Andaz downtown, which is more expensive but light years ahead in comfort and appeal. Also right downtown.
Management makes this a special place. They go out of their way to provide everything you want, from made to order waffles in the morning, to warm cookies and milk in the evenings. Rooms are spacious, clean, and have all the expected amenities. If you don't want to spend $300-$400 per night, this is a good option in Napa Valley. The only con is its' location on a busy intersection with significant road noise. Traffic does quiet down at 9 or so, until about 6:30 in the morning, so I would still recommend it, for the great service and amenities.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again after having a very nice one night stay in March 2016. This is a smaller hotel with more of an inn or large B&B feel. It's a 5 minute drive to downtown Napa, or about a 20 minute walk to most restaurants. Though not an inexpensive hotel, it is one of the more economical choices I found while researching options in and around Napa. The hotel has a lovely common area that includes a fireplace and seating area. It also offers great staff, along with much better-than-average breakfast and snack options. The room was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The hotel also offers a hot tub in the small but charming courtyard area. The one (and tiny) aspect I didn't like about the room? There was no outlet by the second sink located outside the bathroom....which made it a little more challenging for 2 people to get ready at the same time.
We visited Napa for an anniversary trip in March and were more than satisfied with the Best Western Elm House Inn! The cozy accommodations and excellent breakfast make you feel like you are staying at a bed and breakfast. Our room was large and nicely appointed. We heard no noises at night and never saw others in the hallways, even though they were fully booked. Every staff member was very helpful and accommodating. We especially appreciated the excellent breakfast in the quaint dining area and near the working fireplace. Breakfast is much more than "continental" as it includes homemade breads, waffles (sweet potato and regular), gourmet oatmeal with many toppings, yogurt parfaits, fruits, eggs, and even gluten free toast and cereal! The gluten free options were especially wonderful for me, as I have celiac disease. I was able to get an ample breakfast before our days of wine tasting. Quite a treat for me! Also, the location was very close to downtown Napa and had easy access to the highway. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to see this beautiful area.
The hotel was like a large B&B with lovely rooms, common area and garden. Our first room was #207 with a large seating area with gas fireplace. However it was right over a noisy road. The manager graciously moved us to 305 the next night overlooking the garden. It was better. The breakfast is great with excellent made to order sweet potato waffles. The common area and garden lends itself to groups sitting around talking loudly for hours, although the hotel enforces a 10 PM quiet time. Most of the guest rooms open to the atrium overlooking the common area. If you are a light sleeper I can't recommend this hotel due to its location at the corner of two busy roads. That is the only reason I gave 3 stars. If you can sleep through anything, stay here!!
This Inn reminds me of a bed and breakfast more than a hotel. The room was nice and comfortable and the staff very friendly. It is a short walk into downtown Napa so the location is very good. Breakfast was included and is very good. Would definitely stay again.
Small hotel with wonderful service. We had Room 401, downstairs and thoroughly enjoyed this room. No fireplace or anything, but it was comfy, BIG (with two separate bathroom areas, one for dressing with a vanity, sink, mirror, and the other side with the shower, wet closet, another vanity and sink) and in front of the hot tub area. The first night had problems with the guests above us (sounded like they were playing rugby at 11.30pm) I called the front desk and the problem was immediatly solved. The 2nd afternoon we gathered at the hot tub with some wine and a cheese platter which we shared and met some new friends! The breakfast is perfect with plenty to choose from, you can sit inside or outside on the pretty patio. The hotel is close enough the downtown if you don't want to drive UBER/Taxi isn't very expensive. Would deifinatly return.
Spent our Anniversary in Napa recently and was looking for something a bit smaller and romantic when I happened across the reviews for Elm House Inn. Very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept, but the real treat is inside. The greeting room (check-in) is so charming and decorated very tastefully in French Country. There is such a welcoming feel when you walk in with the large fireplace and the charm of the Inn (you really feel at home). We booked a King room with a fireplace and it was very spacious and well equipped. We also packed bathing suits and took advantage of the wonderful outdoor jacuzzi under the stars. Breakfast is included and I can't even begin to explain how fabulous it was! Everything from fresh made waffles, blueberry cakes, fresh fruit, oatmeal with loads of toppings, croissants, juices and of course wonderful coffee. I'm sure you will never leave hungry - what a joy to wake up in the morning to those wonderful smells!! The staff (Tom) are wonderful and take complete pride in their establishment. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone and wouldn't hesitate another visit in the future. Our only regret was an early golf game on our departure day and missing that fabulous breakfast!!
The reviews are all correct, so glad I read them and booked here. Our group of 10 all got rooms over a 5 night period. We were all thrilled with the entire Inn. Friendly, clean, helpful, well appointed, felt like home, and awesome breakfast. The owners have done a first rate job. Keep in mind the room rate changes on weekend, but I get that, very crowded. Do NOT miss breakfast. In addition to fresh fruit, yummy pastries, oatmeal, there are home-made waffles in regular or sweet potato. For those looking for protein there are hard boiled eggs. Can't say enough positives about the place. We hope to stay there again in the future!
What separates good hotels from great hotels? It's the attention to detail. Elm house fires on all cylinders at all times. Well appointed rooms,a lobby that feels like a home with sofas soft music, fireplace, candles, etc The staff is amazingly polite and friendly. Small intimate outdoor seating area with fountain. And then there's the cookies and breakfast. Best homemade cookies I have ever had every night at 6 with ice cold milk! Say what!last but not least The homemade belgium waffles with fresh fruit. We will be back next time we are in Napa!
There were so many positives, I think I'll just list them... 1. we were able to check in early, and Tom at the front desk was very cordial. He learned my name and always asked my wife and I how our day was, whether he could help, etc. He made us feel like a house guest, not a customer 2. The room was spacious and clean with modern amenities 3. plenty of literature available in the room to learn about the region 4. the lobby had a huge fireplace, a comfortable couch, tables, a laptop, newspapers, magazines, menus of local eateries, coffee.. 5. breakfast choices included freshly made waffles, fruit, oatmeal with toppings, cold cereals, bagels, muffins, toast, hard-boiled eggs, coffee, juices 6. at 6 there are freshly baked chocolate chip cookies 7. close to the highway but you don't hear it 8. hot tub and small garden in which to relax 9. dish network with hi-def tv's 10. charging stations by the bed If I think of more, I'll add them, but I think you get the picture
After looking at countless hotels in the Napa Valley, I decided on the Best Western Plus Elm House based upon it's ranking. I now know why it's number 1 ranked in the area. The price is reasonable and you are treated like a house guest instead of a customer. Tom especially stood out. He learned my name the first day and always greeted me coming and going, asking how our day went, if he could help with anything, etc. Breakfast was great, with fresh fruit, pastries, and waffles straight from the kitchen. The rooms were very clean and a step above what you'd expect from a Best Western. At 6 pm nightly they baked chocolate chip cookies and served them with milk. The guests would gather in the lobby at 6 as they were that welcome. There was a nice fireplace and couch, a laptop to use, magazines about the area, newspapers, a hot tub and small garden....I think you too get the picture now of why it's ranked so high.
This place is small and quaint and right off the highway. It is a little dated, but the staff and amenities make it easy to over look. The offer free breakfast and cookies and milk at night. Overall we had a pleasant stay at the Elm.
It's the best Best Western we've stayed in in Northern California (where we are from). Staff is welcoming and eager to please, accommodations are attractive and comfortable, and the included breakfast is quite nice. It really has an "inn" atmosphere -- a welcome change from the outrageously overpriced spa-type or just prestige-marketed hotels of the area.
We stayed for 2 days in February as a launching place for visiting the local vineyards. Our room was charming, breakfast was excellent and all of the staff was friendly. This is the highest quality Best Western we have ever stayed. I agree with the other reviewers if felt like a classic B&B. I would definitely stay there again.
This is a beautiful place to stay while experiencing Napa Valley. It is right in Napa and a short drive to all of the wineries. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our room was a king with a fireplace and very well appointed. The fireplace was such a joy to come home to each evening. The breakfasts were a bonus and the sweet potato waffles were to die for. We were also greeted with cookies each evening. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Napa.
This is a lovely hotel - it feels much more like a bed-and-breakfast inn and I was surprised that it was associated with a hotel chain. The innkeepers were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very comfortable - not fancy, but nicely appointed, and we had plenty of room. The continental breakfast in the morning was excellent - lots of fresh fruit and pastries, oatmeal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and cereal. And best of all were the Belgian waffles made to order - the sweet potato waffles were just delicious. In the evening homemade cookies fresh out of the oven were available - but you better not wait too long because they go fast. We always seemed to miss out because we were at dinner, so one night the innkeepers set two aside for us, and they were waiting for us when we returned. The hotel is located on a very busy street. Our room was on the corner, and we heard a lot of traffic nose starting around 6:00 in the morning. Request a room away from the street if you want something a little quieter. The location was good - about a mile from downtown Napa, so there were dining options not too far away. It was just off highway 29, the main road into Napa Valley, which gave us easy access for our days of wine tasting. The Elm House Inn was a great choice for us!
A small charming hotel that has the feeling of a B &B. Staff is friendly and personable.Relaxing ambiance. An excellent breakfast is provided free of charge. I will stay here again when I return to Napa.
The hotel very much has the feel of a B&B. Couples were consistently found around the main fireplace sharing in a bottle of wine and telling stories. Was very quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend. The owners and staff were terrific and really do a lot to make each guest feel welcome. Tom was even making the rounds at breakfast refilling coffee cups and asking if there was anything anyone needed. They even had gluten-free toast for my wife, which made for a great start to her day. Very convenient to downtown Napa. Could walk there on sunny days.
Don't let any old outdated stereotypes of the Best Western name fool you - this is a wonderful contemporary small boutique style hotel in Napa. The staff take great pride in keeping the place spiffy and immaculate, and go out of their way to be helpful. Very centrally located. The quality of the food in their free continental breakfast is excellent, and thoroughly enjoyable.
I loved everything about this hotel. We stayed for three nights at the end of February 2016. It feels like a small bed and breakfast. The staff were very friendly, the accomodations were clean and comfortable. The lobby, although small was also comfortable. The grounds are fairly limited but I did enjoy reading on the patio and nesting bench ourside. It is fairly close to the freeway, but I did not find it exceptionally noisy. We stayed on the first floor across from the lobby desk. The morning breakfast was delicious as was the pastry in the afternoon and the cookies and milk in the evening. I miss those cookies, they were fantastic! You are close to downtown Napa and within walking distance to great neighborhoods. I can't recommend the Elm House Inn enough.
All the reviews about the location, the staff, the beds, the breakfast and even the cookies waiting for us after hours are all true. the location was very convenient to many spots. we would definitely come back again. The small B&B feel was very nice. The entire staff was so willing and ready to serve. Highly recommend
I took friends visiting from Australia on holiday to Napa and stayed 3 nights at Best WesternPlus Elm House Inn. I and my friends loved it, very cozy lobby and dining area, breakfast was varied and very good. nice ammenities and great helpful staff. thanks for a very good experience, I will return.
Every now and then you find yourself in a hotel where everything feels just right and comfortable. Elm House is one of those, a welcoming well-run smaller hotel easy to find just off the freeway but in a convenient location to walk into town (15 minutes) through a nice residential area. Bedrooms are lovely, the staff so helpful and friendly, and the breakfast delicious to set you up for the day ahead. Highly recommended and good value.
Enjoyed the downtown Napa and location of the hotel. But the breakfast was amazing and cookies and milk in the evening. Everyone was so friendly and the King room with fireplace was a great way to enjoy our stay. It was easy to get around. Free wifi bonus. Would recommend.
This is definitely our Napa hotel! The staff offers superior customer service, the room was well-kept and clean, and the hotel boasts a relaxing, quaint lobby. This Best Western is within walking distance of downtown Napa, where you'll find several dining options. We stayed overnight for business, but will definitely be returning for pleasure!
Our room was very spacious and clean. The Inn is located in the heart of the valley and very close to the wineries. The staff was very friendly and polite. There are a few restaurants only a few blocks away towards the water.
When we stayed at the Best Western Plus Elm House Inn, the innkeeper, Tom, greeted us warmly and with a huge smile. Our stay there was so comfortable and pleasant! The rooms were charming and very clean, and the included breakfast was second to none, with every employee there amazingly kind and cheerful. The hot tub out back in the garden was lovely also. It has a B&B atmosphere, and felt like home away from home. The beds were so comfortable, and we could open the windows for fresh air sleeping. It was just perfect and we are so fortunate to have stumbled upon it! I would not hesitate to highly recommend it to anyone!
The Elm House Inn provides the convenience of a hotel and comforts of a Bed & Breakfast - very comfortable beds and first rate breakfast items. Great staff. The location is a perfect gateway to the Napa wine country.
We loved staying here...what a gem of a hotel! Rooms were spacious, staff was so helpful, and breakfast was superb! street noise was a little loud, but we closed the window and put on the AC. Breakfast was great...so plentiful, and continually refreshed, great choice of eats as well!
We stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed the staff and the location. The hotel is more like a B and B with a decent breakfast including made to order waffles, fresh fruit, hot cereal and freshly baked muffins. They also made us poached eggs on request. It was great to have the small fridge in the room. We used the hot tub daily. They have a coin operated washer and dryer open until 9pm daily. It was a short walk into town to the shops and restaurants. There are many historic houses in the area. It was an easy drive to the local wineries, historic towns, San Francisco and the Golden Gate recreation area. We would happily stay here again thanks to our gracious hosts. Make sure you are home by 6pm for the warm, delicious chocolate chip cookies!!!
This hotel serves divine homemade chocolate ship cookies at 6 o' clock every evening. That is really all you need to know. :D The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly and helpfull and the breakfast is great. They make you eggs and bread from your orders so that the breakfast is fresh regardless of what time you get up. The even have really good glutenfree toast.
We have stayed in Napa ad Sonoma approximately 10 times. The Elms is more like a home/B&B. The staff could not make us feel more welcome. They guided us to some great wine tastings and helped us arrange a couple of picnics at some wineries. Can't wait for our next visit.
This place is truly amazing! They go above and beyond to exceed your expectations. The property is privately owned and operated, and boy does it show! Everyone takes pride in their work. They include so many wonderful details. The place is small and quaint, but they have a nice lobby with a fireplace and comfortable seating. There is coffee, tea, and water available all day. They put out homemade chocolate cookies at 6pm along with milk...very good! The grounds are beautiful with an array of interesting plants. The hot tub is nice and hot with good jets. The rooms are really good size and very clean! In the rooms you have a mini fridge, a nice tv, and the bed was very comfortable. My honey had to wake me up this morning, I was enjoying my slumber so much! There is a complimentary continental breakfast which is the best I have ever had at a hotel...great coffee, tea, juice, milk, a homemade pastry each morning which was fantastic! Waffles which taste good, not like the typical cheap version at free breakfasts. Oatmeal with so many wonderful toppings. Toast, hard boiled eggs. It was all extremely good! We were planning on grabbing some coffee and going out but we stayed. They also have an outdoor eating area with a fountain and heater. Very enjoyable! Then we go back to the room to bathe and there are bath salts to put in our deep and jetted tub! There is also a huge separate shower. Let me wrap this up by saying that I am very particular, especially when it comes to food. Also, I love great customer service, which is so rare these days, so when I find it I am very excited and pleased! This place is a real gem! Btw, you can walk to downtown Napa if you like to walk. It's about a mile or so.
Very nice hotel but the staff makes this place outstanding. Tom is the best manager we ever met ! Breakfast was very good and the Sweet potatoes waffle was delicious. It was our second time at this hotel and we will be back as soon as possible
I have previously given a review of this hotel and enjoyed it so much that I returned with 2 friends! They were happy with the comfort of the rooms and hotel atmosphere also! Breakfast was delicious with waffles, muffins, mixed fresh fruit, bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, juices, tea and coffee!
We recently stayed at the inn for 3 nights. Booked on line based on the reviews of others and we were not disappointed. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast was outstanding with all employees helpful and polite. We received excellent suggestions from the staff on restaurants, wine tours and also shipping companies. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.
The staff are so friendly and attentive, you instantly feel like you are in a very special place! The location is very good - you're about a 10 minute walk from all the restaurants. The breakfast in the morning is amazing - with Belgian waffles made to order and a variety of delicious foods that there is really something for everyone. This place will definitely be my go-to-place to stay in Napa!
The location is great! Easily assessable to the Napa valley highway or downtown Napa. Downtown has some more wine tasting rooms that stay open late when the other wineries close around 5. Breakfast was great! The staff is super friendly and the facility is clean! Had the best night sleep here! There's even a hot tub to relax in at night.
Outstanding hospitality with fully fitted out accommodations, delicious breakfasts with special sweet potato waffles and warm syrup, a fire with a sofa to enjoy it and many other amenities. Excellent value. Right downtown, and on a busy corner with traffic, but inside very cozy. Try for a second floor room.
Very nice hotel but the people really make this place outstanding. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff. Breakfast was very good and the location and parking cannot be beat. Sorry Trip Advisor, I do not want to be verbose, this is the end of my review but I will keep typing words so you will accept it
Great place to stay while in Napa! Tom Kearns, the innkeeper of The Elm, is so nice and hospitable. He remembers everyone's name and makes you feel so welcomed! I feel like I'm coming home every time I visit!
One of the best hotels I have stayed. Owners and staff went above the call to insure our satisfaction in every manner! All we had to do was asked and the staff did everything they could do to make it happen! Breakfast was outstanding.
Fantastic location and very nice hotel. Felt more like a bed and breakfast. Close to the wineries and downtown Napa restaurants. Stayed in the winter so the crowds were small which was nice. Perfect breakfast and nice and quiet.
We stayed at the Best Western Elm House on a recent trip to Napa. We selected the hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. The Elm House only has 22 rooms and feels more like a Bed and Breakfast than a chain hotel. The rooms are clean and very large. There is a breakfast each morning that is very good and the staff always made us feel welcome. They made the waffles for us and they were a great way to start the day.
We´ve selected this hotel based on previews review and it was perfect.Clean, cozy, comfortable, easy to access, the manager is a perfect host and the staff is friendly and helpful. Other highlights are the bed and the breakfast. We´ve enjoyed the biscuits and tea in the evening listening to a well selected varied of good music.
Lovely hotel. Clean, comfortable and lovely people who run it. We will definitely return. I had a bad cold and the proprietor allowed us to check out a little later and gave me a nice drink with lemon to help my sore throat. Evening cookies are absolutely the best. I could not be happier with our stay.
What a pleasure our stay was recently, January 6-8th. A group of friends gathered for a birthday celebration and we were treated with warmth and excellent customer service. Guest services representatives Bertha and Lucy were patient with my multiple calls in advance of our stay to tweak and confirm our bookings. Upon arrival Lucy was friendly and accommodating with our questions and made our simple pizza dinner 'in' on our first night memorable. The proprietors we're welcoming and courteous as they served a tasty breakfast each morning in the common space. This is a must return to destination for me and one I highly recommend. 5+ stars!
Loved this hotel - very friendly staff and helped with anything we had questions on.....beds were very comfortable and close to freeway and waterfront.....I will refer to my family and friends and would stay here again.......
We loved this little gem! Everyone who works here clearly loves their job. Our room was good size and even had a fireplace. The freshly baked cookies in the evening were a nice touch and breakfast in the morning was just what we needed. Highly recommend this place for anyone who appreciates good quality lodging that is budget friendly... It allowed us to spend more money on wine and dining.
Fair price, beautiful place, awesome breakfast and a nice location at downtown. For those who want to have good a treatment and probably will spend most of your time visiting wineries this is the best option ! Don't waste your money paying for something that you will not use!!!!
This hotel is a must stay if you are in the Napa area. Very quaint and the entire staff is genuine and awesome. Rooms are cozy and the beds are super comfortable. Breakfast is tasty. Again, the service is spectacular. Love it!
It is an wonderful experience and I would recommend all my friend this hotel. Also sweet potato waffle is great!! Very close to a lot of winearies and good restaurants. The decoration of the room is very cute too!
We made last minute plans to visit Napa and were able to get rooms at the Elm House. It was clean and comfortable. They have great service and offered a very nice breakfast. Would definitely stay here again much more affordable than other hotels in the area but still a very nice place to go home to after a day of touring and tasting.
My husband and I spent two nights here during a christmas break trip to Napa. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very cozy. The hotel was small and charming. It felt like staying at a friend's house. The breakfast in the morning was great! So many choices (beyond basic bagels and danish) to fuel up before heading out for a day of exploring and wine tasting. I enjoyed the oatmeal and the sweet potato waffles. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Napa :)
A real find - much more than a bed and breakfast! Housed in an old house/houses, this place offers a wonderful place to stay when in Napa. The people who run this restaurant know how to make a person feel welcome and the rooms are so very comfortable with top quality amenities. In the main building there is a large open area where a person can sit most comfortably in front of the fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine or friendly conversation and small tables where an amazing assortment of freshly baked goods are served for breakfast along with fresh fruit, hot and cold cereals, and fresh waffles. Entry doors to all rooms in the main building all face this open area including the ones on the 2nd floor. The secondary building houses 8 luxurious "suites" with large rooms, comfortable seating area, a full washroom as well as a "powder room" with a sink. The grounds are inviting to just sit and enjoy the flowers and quiet. As well there is a small hot tub/jacuzzi for your enjoyment. Parking is available in lots on either side of the house making for easy access to both the downtown area and the highway.
Loved this hotel!!! Best western but feels like a B&B! Great hosts and yummy free amazing breakfast!! Close to downtown Napa and easy on and off highway for wine tasting! Would highly recommend!! Beds were comfortable! Hot tub was clean!
The previous reviews on Trip Adivisor rated this property as #2 in all of Napa Valley. After staying there for two nights in a 3rd floor room we would have to agree with those reviewers. The staff are very friendly; the personalized breakfast service is typical of most B&B's; the room was clean, had sufficient space, and everything worked as it should have; there was some traffic noise but not bothersome; and the location was very good where it was very easy to get onto the Route 29 freeway or go into downtown Napa. Due to the recent snow storm here in the East, we had to leave one day early. The owner, Tom, cheerfully refunded our 3rd night's stay for which we are very grateful. Should we ever go back to Napa Valley, the Elm House Inn will be the property we contact.
The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and always available. Breakfast had homemade coffee cake, sweet potato waffles, fresh fruit, oatmeal. Too many good choices to choose from. Amenities were wonderful. I wouldn't think of booking any other hotel for my next stay in Napa. It is also very close to downtown.
This Best Western Plus in Napa was very adorable. I had not expected it to be so charming. I really anticipated just a generic hotel to sleep at, but the room was so comfortable and quiet. Even the air conditioner was quiet all night. It was clean. Even more, breakfast was offered in the morning. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try, but did have some VERY good coffee. Upon my departure, the hotel admin was gracious and kind. I definitely will and did recommend this Napa gem. In a town full of expensive hotels, this was such a great value.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and immediately on check-in we knew we had made the right choice. The staff were so friendly and helpful! They were quick to give recommendations and suggestions. The location of the hotel is close to downtown Napa, but also right next to the highway so you can quickly make your way to Yountville (fantastic dinning) or St. Helena (more wineries). It was quite and we never heard any other quests when we were in our room. There is a little spa in the back that was great for relaxing after a day touring wineries and the breakfast was AWESOME! Can't say enough good things about this Inn! Best experience for this price point! Would definitely stay there again.
My wife and I just spent our anniversary at Best Western Plus Elm House Inn. What a wonderful surprise! It is a real gem. It certainly reminded me of Inns I have stayed at around the world. The staff, facilities and our room was great. The staff especially Bertha and innkeeper Tom went overboard to assist you with planning a day out, restaurants and breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, it was fantastic. If you ever are in the Napa area, I highly recommend staying at Best Western Plus Elm House Inn. We will be going back there to celebrate my birthday.
We were flying into CA for a weekend in Napa with friends, and wanted lodging that would be relatively close to Napa Valley for our winery tours. This Elm House Inn was perfect! The location is right off highway 29, so it was easy access to the wineries. It is about a 20 minute walk to downtown Napa, but we chose to take Uber instead, which was never more than $5. There is a main building, 3 stories and very quaint and cute. We actually stayed in a building behind the main building which is a short 40 foot walk by the lush gardens and the hot tub. This was actually favorable to us as it is a little distant from all the other guests in the main building. We stayed in room 401, the Presidential suite. The room is very large, with a huge bathroom with a walk-in shower and a separate large tub with jets. There is also a separate room with another vanity sink and prep area. The breakfast in the morning is really good, with Belgian or sweet potato waffles, fresh baked poppy seed loafs, fruits, etc. The only issue I had with breakfast is that you do need to stay somewhat quiet as you talk as the rooms in the main building do surround the common area were break fast is served, and you do not want to disturb the guests. The rates here are very reasonable. There is an elevator for the main building, but only stairs for the rooms in the rear building. There is a very inviting hottub that we unfortunately did not use. The hotel hosts were very helpful, showing us to our rooms, offering suggestions for restaurants, etc. This is definitely a hotel we will return to!
Found this place from reviews and they are spot on. The good ones I mean. Charming hotel, right off the highway near downtown napa. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy! They bake cookies each evening and set them out with cold milk, seriously I'd come back for those alone. Breakfast was awesome as well, they make waffles, and have homemade breads and fruit and fresh coffee. The staff at this hotel are the nicest. If you want a place to stay in Napa I highly recommend this! Plus you get to enjoy cookies!
I brought my mom and aunt here to celebrate my moms birthday. This hotel is very cozy and quaint! I especially love the breakfast in the morning. It's more than continental. Homemade sweet potato waffles, fresh chopped fruit and oatmeal with all the fixings. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are roomy and nicely decorated.
My boyfriend & I had a wonderful stay here at Elm House. The price is right for the awesome location & service received. We showed up to check in and she told us we had a complimentary upgrade to a suite (Super nice surprise) and even if we hadn't been upgraded, the rooms are all cute, very clean, and comfortable. The breakfast every morning is amazing - sweet potato waffles are awesome - and they have a cute hot tub area, also. They are warm and welcoming, the location is close to the wineries and areas where you want to be, and the price is affordable while still getting a high class Napa Valley experience.
We have tried to get reservations in this inn on past visits to Napa, but have been unable. We scored a room this time and were very pleased with the inn. The innkeepers and staff and very welcoming and the lobby is quite warm and friendly and complete with a fire place for those chilly evenings. Our room had a small fireplace that was more for ambiance than heat. The baths are nicely appointed with double sinks and fluffy towels. Breakfast is included, but the freshly baked breads are super. The inn is convenient to the Oxbow Market and other in-town locations. It also is freeway close so trip into the valley and very easy. This is definitely a return to place.
This was my first time staying at this Best Western and it will not be my last. The hotel is beautiful on the inside and finds a way to make you feel like you are in your own home. The entire staff was wonderful to interact with and truly did everything they could to make it a memorable experience. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Wonderful weekend!
I will definitely be taking guests and family here for future Napa visits. For my mom and my first trip to Napa, I booked 1 night at this small Best Western based on Local Wally's Napa Guide review. We were upgraded to a room with a fireplace, and the staff did fulfill the most important booking request: they put a simple: "Merry Christmas Mom!" card on the table to welcome our arrival. The Room: Small but comfortable for 2, King bed, working TV with cable, WiFi connection was solid, nothing was missing, broken, or dirty, in the tub was a non-slip placemat for when you shower. The Inn: Classic homey inn style holiday decorations, homemade baked goods and ample food every morning and even wine in the evening - all free, hot tub outside in perfect working condition - also free, and of course, excellent customer service. There was also a complimentary wine tour being offered at breakfast, but we already made plans. The Location: Less than 15 minute walk from downtown Napa. Quiet. Price: A bit more pricey for a millennial like myself, but worth it as a treat.
We were quite pleased with location, room and breakfast. will be back. There is also a jaccuzzi on the premises to relax at the end of a tough day drinking wine at the wineries. Location is close to all the restaurants and outlet as well.
Stayed one night at this cozy Best Western. Felt like a B&B with all the special touches. Lobby was decorated with a beautiful Christmas tree and the fireplace also added a warm touch. Evening reception included Acacia wine and delicious warm cookies! The room was nice appointed with free wi-fi, flat screen TV, comfy bed, 2 separate sinks, coffeemaker and fridge. Woke up smelling coffee from the lobby! I was on the 3rd floor! The continental breakfast included made to order waffles, bagels, muffins, fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereal, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea, and juice. Trays are also offered so you can bring back to your room. I was so pleased with my stay and will definitely be back when I'm in the Napa Valley area!
Host was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff was professional and friendly. The location was easy to find and near the services we needed. We would choose this facility again if coming through Napa.
The Elm is centrally located in Napa and offers very high value. It is warm, friendly, clean and offers an excellent breakfast with each night spent. The Inn Keeper and his staff are very attentive to the customers needs. The Inn was updated recently and has new carpet, mattresses, paintings, and furniture. We will return to it on our next visit to Napa.
My husband and I chose this hotel based on its excellent reviews (#1 hotel in Napa on TripAdvisor, enough said) and it still exceeded our expectations. It was so cozy that it felt like you were staying in someone's home. The room was extremely spacious (ours had two sinks) and clean. The bed was really comfortable. One of the best parts: THE COOKIES. Cookies and milk were served every afternoon and these were honestly the best cookies I've ever had. And the complimentary breakfast is more extensive than we imagined: oatmeal, cereal, toast, and made-to-order waffles (delicious!!). The staff was very friendly, even helping us coordinate the shipment of our wine bottles back to Miami. I would recommend this place to anyone. It sounds strange to choose a Best Western in Napa but trust me, you won't regret it!
This si our GO TO place in napa. Warm, friendly Staff and Owners who go out of their way to make you feel at home. The lobby was beautifully decorated with a tree and other Christmas adornments with bright place mats at breakfast. Lots of nice touches through out the stay. Fantastic cookies warm cookies in the evening.
Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!I just fell in love with this hotel!!! So beautiful and peaceful! So sad that I booked here only for a day. The parking lot and the rooms are so comfortable to stay. I'm having homemade cookies and milk right now, It tastes so delicious!!!! Expect to eat tomorrow 's breakfast!!Yes, I'll come back here , recommend here!!!!!:)
I signed up to write Trip Advisor reviews to comment on this hotel and its staff. Although the hotel is small, it is very comfortable and wonderfully run. Every hotel should examine carefully how it treats its guests and how it is managed. It is well deserving of its very positive reviews and serves as a model to show other hotels how they can make their guests comfortable while traveling or vacationing.
We stayed at Elm House for 3 nights just prior to Thanksgiving. We chose this hotel due to all the great reviews on Tripadvisor. The personnel are as nice as they come. Bertha at check in gave us plenty of winery and restaurant information. I thought that we would be able to walk into downtown Napa from the hotel but it turned out to be a bit too far in the dark and cold. Maybe on a warm summer night we would have ventured it. We had an upstairs King Premium room in the building on Third St. (as opposed to the main building). The room was large, including a workspace with Wi-Fi, a newly renovated bathroom, and a second vanity/sink with closet space. The second vanity was very convenient for hair and makeup since the bathroom had a pedestal sink. A short walk past the parking lot and through the courtyard brings you to the main building where breakfast is served in a cozy lobby. We noticed that there were several rooms on the first floor right off of the lobby that I would imagine could get pretty noisy during breakfast hours. Something to keep in mind if you are booking the lowest priced rooms. A delicious buffet breakfast included hot and cold cereal, Danish, bread, muffins, bagels, fruit, and hard-boiled eggs. My bacon and eggs husband was appeased by made to order waffles. Also enjoyed a freshly baked cookie one night.
My husband and I stayed here over the summer. We stay in Napa or Sonoma at least twice a year and try different places almost every time. This is the best for location/price. It doesn't look like a Best Western - it looks like a bed and breakfast. The bathtub was great. They don't even mention it on the website, but the room we stayed in had a nice oversize bath tub - not a standard hotel little one. The breakfast was simple and good...if you're a waffle fan you're in luck. Great deal - it's nicer than places that cost a lot more in the area.
Booked room for an overnight stay after wine train & before concert. Location is great, staff more than accommodating. Rooms are spacious, free WIFI, evening snack & breakfast included. Great place to stay near downtown Napa. Will definitely stay here on next overnight stay.
Just book here and you will be happy. We stayed on the first floor right outside the breakfast area. I had no problems with any noise. It takes about 15 minutes to walk downtown but there is a lot of parking downtown too. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, the breakfast is great. Fresh mixed bowl of fruit and many other items. Friendly staff.
Despite good "ratings", we expected a decent room, i.e., typical for a Best Western. The elm House exceeded what we expected in that the rooms were large, clean, ample parking and an excellent breakfast offering waffles, pancakes eggs, etc. No breakfast meats though. Close to downtown Napa (< 5minutes), 25 minutes to Yountville and was within a block of the highway. Staff was very helpful with great suggestions and willing to make reservations for what we wanted to explore.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Elm House Inn. The hotel is in the Napa area. Our room was comfortable. The lobby area has a warm fire burning There is a beautiful Christmas tree and Santa Decorations during the holidays. We like to sit in the lobby and enjoy the snacks Breakfast is very good as well. Staff is always so nice. The place has a feel like a Bed and Breakfast.
This hotel is much more like a family run B&B than a chain hotel. The service from when we arrived was outstanding. Every evening they provide freshly baked cookies in the comfortable lobby. The breakfasts were amazing with freshly made dishes such as their sweet potato waffles as well as a good selection of juices, fruit, muffins etc. The room was comfortable with a nice bed.
We chose the Elm House Inn for an anniversary celebration after reading so many wonderful reviews. Believe the reviews, pretty much everything you read is true. It has a very cozy, quaint feel to it. The holiday decorations surrounding the warm fireplace make you want to sit there all day (except there are all those great wineries calling you). The staff (especially Bertha) couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming. Their breakfast (particularly the fresh sweet potato waffles and baked banana bread) is as good as advertised. Location is convenient to downtown Napa, Oxbow Market and of course the wineries. Combine the reasonable price, great breakfast, and the wonderful people who work there and you can see why this is consistently ranked as one of the top places to stay when visiting Napa.
Arrived at 7pm directed to park the car in a park that was full. Went to have a bar meal, the bar area was very cold, the panni I ordered was cold and overpriced. Staff were friendly but overall the experience was poor.
We absolutely loved our stay here. It was more like a cozy guesthouse than a hotel. Rooms were lovely and comfortable, breakfast was excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly. Though it is less central than other hotels, it's great value for money and only a short walk to Napa's Main Street. I would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful Bread and Breakfast type atmosphere. Rooms are very nice and breakfast was delicious. Hotel was quiet with a lot of couples and families. Very close to downtown Napa and a ton of wineries. The hotel had a nice spa/hot tub that we didn't have time to check out but looked nice. We had a fireplace in the room which was very lovely as well.
We just returned from a night at the Elm House Inn. We had a room with a cozy fireplace in the corner of it. There was also a nice round table and two chairs to enjoy a take away meal. Which we did! We arrived around 1 and our room was ready. We planned to drop our luggage while we went to some wineries. We were lucky to be able to place our bags in our room while we went wine tasting. We tasted at 3 wineries and headed back to our cozy fireplace room. We picked up Italian food to enjoy in the room along with a nice bottle of wine. At 6 they set out the most delicious chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! We were there to get them at 6 and ate them as dessert after our meal. The breakfast the next morning was out of this world. Fresh fruit, home made coffee cake, and waffles to order. Try the sweet potato waffles, you won't be disappointed. There is also hot oatmeal with fantastic toppings, out of the ordinary for sure. As well, hard boiled eggs, cold cereals, breads, yogurts, were on offer. Many kinds of juices, and great coffee! The bed was very comfy, with a pillow top mattress, we slept well. The staff is one of the best things about the Elm House. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel at home. They are friendly, helpful and all around terrific. The Elm House is small, 22 rooms. Hopefully, you will get a chance to enjoy it on your overnight in Napa. It's beautiful, cozy, romantic.
One of the best Best Westerns we've stayed at ~ has the charm and friendliness of a B&B Inn and in a good location too. Breakfast was so much more than the standard choice ~ fresh straight out the oven muffins and made to order waffles. The sweet potato waffle was such an unexpected treat.
This hotel is adorable! It's in a really great location, with a 15 minute walk to downtown restaurants. The breakfast is so delicious - try the sweet potato waffles! The rooms were large. We had a room with two double beds, and it actually had an extra sink/vanity area outside the bathroom, which was perfect for the two of us to get ready in the morning. All of the staff was welcoming and really knowledgeable of the area. I would highly recommend this hotel!
The Best Western Plus Elm House Inn is an adorable place to stay. Everyone on staff is attentive, focused, and delivers an amazing experience. The breakfast is above and beyond, have a made to order waffle or the fresh baked mini loaf of the day, always fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and more. It really prepares you for a day in wine country. The front desk staff is great with recommendations for dinner, a winery you might have missed or anything you need to make your stay perfect. The rooms are fine. We did not spend much time in them except to sleep and they were good for that. Good speed with the Wi-Fi overall and ability to upload images.
I booked this hotel based on many other rave reviews on Trip Advisor. Even then this boutique hotel exceeded my expectations. Small and quaint with a bed and breakfast feel. Fabulous breakfast spread including home made coffee cake or muffins and cooked eggs and waffles prepared especially for you. Delicious homemade cookies served up in the afternoons with coffee. Comfortable, spacious and quiet room. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff. I can't say enough about this hotel.
We have stayed here 5 times, and the last couple of times we were put on the highway side and it is loud all night long, despite windows closed and a white noise app on my phone. The staff does not care or bother to try to move you to another room. So, if you actually plan on sleeping at some point during your vacation, then don't stay here. We won't be coming back.
This was such a delightful hotel. It's more like a boutique hotel, quaint and beautifully designed. Our room was large but still cosy. Breakfast was amazing and the bed was honestly the most comfortable I have ever stayed in (where do they get those mattress toppers from?!) We loved our time in Napa, even though the it was too windy for a hot air balloon ride, the wine tour more than made up for it!
This was our first time in Napa and for our next visit, we would 100% stay here again. We just loved it! The reception area is cute and pretty, but most importantly very comfortable! There is always complimentary coffee and water. Furthermore, at 6pm cookies and milk are served, which is a lovely feature to the experience. The staff were incredible - both reception and breakfast staff were attentive and so friendly! The rooms were top notch! There was a fireplace feature in the room that made for a relaxing evening. The rooms were very comfortable, plenty of space, many plug sockets and good TV offer. The AC was very effective too if you were too warm. The hot tub downstairs was great for the evening after wine tasting. So relaxing and again, a fantastic feature to the hotel. Parking is free and on site. Some people might be put off that it's a Best Western if they don't want to stay in a chain, but this hotel doesn't feel anything like a chain! Thank you for a lovely stay!
Wonderful property, well located, beautifully appointed rooms. friendly staff, and homemade cinnamon mini loafs at breakfast. Very clean with obvious pride in attention to detail. Highly recommend to couples, and small groups of friends on winetasting trips.
Cost friendly for an expensive area to stay, morning Breakfast was a pleasure, staff friendly and caring. While rooms where slightly out date, okay out dated, we simply used it for a sleep orientated stay and spent most of our day and evenings out and about. If you want to drink wine downtown or enjoy your evenings at the hotel then stay within walking distances to their main street,or upscale location other wise it is a car must facility and not a walking friendly location. Would we stay again, probably not, but not due to the staff, just our personal preferences.
I almost hate to recommend this place as it is getting very difficult to get in, BUT in all fairness I have to give two thumbs up. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely appointed. The breakfast buffet is supplemented by your choice of fresh waffles, toast or bagel. The dining area can get crowded, but everyone makes do.There is also al fresco seating with heating also available. f
I read the reviews here and called immediately. The customer service I received really put me at ease. I was given the last room they had, Room 207. At check in, we were happy with the feel of the hotel and service we received, not to mention all of the cookies that everyone raves about. Let me say before you read this, that I judge a room on sleep quality, value for location, amenities and customer service. On and into our room. It was warm so I turned the older AC unit on full at the lowest setting. The unit never really cooled the room until very late at night....it wasn't horribly uncomfortable but warmer than I like for a good nights sleep. We unpacked and found the room to be really large with a nice fireplace to help set the mood. The room was well appointed with lots of plugs, information on the surrounding area and everything you'd expect. We went out for dinner and then came back to lay down. The bed was super comfortable, as were the pillows. Kudos on that to the hotel. Unfortunately we then found out that the rooms on the front of the hotel were extremely noisy and had to go down and ask for ear plugs. It's hard to sleep like that, warm room and street noise. We also heard noises from the office which is directly underneath our room. Hard to be romantic when you/room is right on top of the office staff. We also found out early the next morning that the road noise starts about 6 AM, I think people hit the gas as hard as possible to ruin tourist sleep. Really not conducive to sleep. The bathroom was large but a bit dated with a faded toilet seat and an older jetted tub. The tub wall was 2 feet high (see picture) so if you have mobility issues you may want to be careful or get another room. My wife almost slipped as well. There was no hair conditioner in the bathroom but it was given upon request, no questions. It was functional and quaint. On to breakfast, It is what everyone says it is....Excellent. The service was so good that I tipped the wait staff every day for how wonderful they were. There is a sign asking you to tip the wait staff if service is good, and it really is. We stayed for 3 days Wed-Sat AM and it was just shy of one thousand dollars. For all of those saying it's a great value, I question the logic you use. This review was hard to write because the hotel staff is second to none and the feel of the hotel grounds is really fantastic. I know it seems negative but here it is in a nutshell. The AC was poor and it made the room warm, combine that with the excessive road noise requiring ear plugs, the noise from the office and kitchen in the AM... and a grand (Napa or not) for the room and I expect better quality that what it was. The staff here should train other hotels, Would I stay here again.... In another room, Maybe.
A wonderful, comfortable B&B in Napa. The breakfasts were fantastic and the staff at the hotel just tremendous. The rooms are very comfortable and inviting. A great place to stay in Napa that's close to the fun without all of the noise. Easy to get to and a short drive to central Napa for the restaurants and night life.
This is my third time staying at the elm house inn tom and his staff are very friendly and really make the stay A wonderful experience love the fresh breakfast every morning and the chocolate chip cookies at night so convenient to all the wineries and restaurants
My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Elm House Inn for three nights while in Napa and couldn't have been happier. I consult Trip Advisor when planning all of my trips and keep checking the reviews until I arrive at my hotel of choice. For six months prior to my trip I did not read one bad review for this hotel. All were glowing and for good reason. This is more of an Inn or B&B than hotel with lovely gardens, amazing breakfasts, and great, spotless rooms. We would definitely stay again!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Elm Inn. Comfortable rooms, excellent bed. Darling breakfast area equipped with a wood burning fireplace. The outdoor patio was equipped with heaters and peaceful fountains. The breakfast was outstanding!! Included in the room rate we had a homemade loaf bread each morning (lemon poppy seed and blueberry crumble!). Fresh fruit, homemade waffles, hot coffee, fresh grapefruit. Very attentive staff including the Inn Owner that refilled our coffee. We were happy that our friends suggestion of the Marriott fell through!!
The hotel is adorable for a Best Western. However, the room was small and opened directly into the breakfast room. We had trouble bringing our luggage out without running into guests who were still eating. The breakfast was amazing. We loved the hot tub, too. We will recommend this hotel to our friends.
Wow!!! This place was wonderful. The staff is very friendly. The furnishings are like a quaint B&B. There is a comfortable sofa facing the fireplace. They bring out homemade chocolate chip cookies around 6pm which were scrumptious. The breakfast area was cozy. We were greeted immediately and asked whether we wanted sweet potato or Belgium waffles. The sweet potato waffles were the best waffles I have ever had. There was an assortment of other breakfast foods as well. We cannot say enough about this place. We would highly recommend it to anyone coming to the Napa area
We stayed here for 2 nights during a second honeymoon trip along the California coast plus tacked on a couple of days in Napa. Couldn't have been more pleased. Clean, beautiful, well-appointed, charming property. Kind and helpful staff. Room was very comfortable. We even got upgraded to a king room with fireplace. Breakfast was awesome; not only the usual carbs, but also grapefruit, berries, steel cut oatmeal, good coffee, etc. It's in the town of Napa, not in the beautiful rolling hills of the wineries, but access to everywhere is quick & easy. Would love to return.
My husband and I stayed at this Hotel. What a charming place not your usual Best Western. Breakfast was not your usual Best Western breakfast. We had home made Waffles and Blueberries Muffins. Service was fantastic. Rooms were nice and clean. I highly recommend this Hotel.
We enjoyed this hotel. As others have said, it has the charm of a b&b without the price! The continental breakfasts were very good with many options including waffles. they put out fresh baked cookies in the evening. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Downtown Napa is an easy walk or a quick Uber ride ($5-$7). The jacuzzi was very clean and a nice place to unwind after a day visiting wineries. Really liked the bathrobes too. We would stay here again.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel. What a charming place would love to stay here again. What a charming place. Breakfast was not the usual Best Western Breakfast. Had home made Waffles and home made Blueberries Muffins. Service was fantastic. Room are lovely and clean.
We enjoyed our stay at the Elm House Inn during a busy weekend at the wineries. This spot provides the feel of a BnB, without the steep price of one. Very cozy rooms, with a warm feel. The continental breakfast was terrific. Felt like you were dining in someone's home, very personal, quaint feel to it. An added perk is the location; one step from downtown Napa, and a few freeway exits away from the heard of the wineries. Definitely enjoyed our stay at Elm House Inn.
Very welcoming staff who aim to please. Not a bad walk to downtown Napa. Breakfast was phenomenal-try the sweet potato Belgian waffles. Fresh baked everything. Comfy beds, free parking. Would stay here again!
We had a very nice stay at this hotel. It was very clean and the bed was really soft and comfortable. We had a one bedroom suite and it was very nice and roomy. Everyone at the hotel was really nice. The location of this hotel is fantastic. It was close to the Vinyards and the Napa Train. Even though there were a lot of people staying there, it was very quiet. The free breakfast was good, even though there isn't a lot of tables inside, there are some outside and the weather was beautiful. Across the parking lot of the hotel is a nice Mexican Restaurant with a sports bar feel. We met some really nice local folks there and had so much fun, we met them there again the next night. I will definitely stay here again when I make it back to Napa.
After searching very hard for a nice and reasonably priced hotel in Napa, we decided on the Elm House Inn. We were not disappointed. We stayed during mid week so the rates are lower than the weekend when most of the visitors tend to come.. The hotel is in a very quiet residential neighborhood. The hotel is relatively small with about 25 rooms so it has an intimate feel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful with any questions or assistance that you might need. They provide a free breakfast that has most colds items you would want plus they make waffles. Since wine visits start around noon, we were able to jog at a park nearby which provided a nice glance to all the food and drink consumed. The hotel is located in downtown Napa so you are at the beginning of wine country whether you go to Napa or Sonoma. So plan on a 15-30 minute drive to reach the wineries. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Elm House.
we satyed here for 2 nights and had the most wonderful time. rooms are comfortable and clean and staff is caring and attentive. envoirment is cosy and makes you feel like you are at home. would stay there again
Love staying at the Elm House. The staff are friendly and everything is serene. Lovely courtyard! A hidden gem while in Napa. We love staying here when we are in Napa. We are very disappointed when no rooms are available for our stay.
Thank you for the wonderful service. Breakfast was so abundant; there was something for everyone. I have some unique dietary restrictions and could always find something delicious. The courtyard is adorable and it was a joy to walk from the annex to the breakfast room every morning. Can't wait to visit again! Thank you!
My sister and I stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved every second of our stay.. From the front desk, to the breakfast, to the warm heavenly cookies and the most amazing bed ever could not have been a better choice for our trip. Hand downs with out a doubt we will come back..
Omg what a special hotel! Everything is perfection and the girl at the front desk could not have been more helpful! The breakfast was to die for - all home made and all delicious. Wish we got to stay more than one night! Would definitely recommend!
