    « Golf trip »

Staff was friendly! Room was nice! Bed was comfortable! Never had an issue with finding a parking spot. Breakfast was filling and handy to have at the hotel! Seating area seemed small, but was never crowded to make it uncomfortable! I'd stay here again!

    « Myrtle Beach »

Most was standard ok, but the cleaning could have been better. Breakfast area was small and no seats during peak hours. The breakfast was good, especially the waffles with syrup. It was to cold to use the pool area, but it looked allright.

« Best Western Plus Grand »

Very excellent for the price. Comfortable rooms with kitchenette. Rooms have refrigerator, stove, microwave and small table for eating. Table and chairs outside room for sitting. The shower was great. TV channels are average. Their is two sections. One across the street has indoor pool and jacuzzi. Very nice. Main side has outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi. A small lazy river is next to the outdoor pool. They serve daily breakfast. One of the best I have had at a hotel. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes, grits, different breads, muffins, bagels, three types of juices, yogurt, hot coffee (decaf/regular) cereal and milk. Just to name a few items. It was better than the German food I bought the night before. The staff and management are very polite and professional. Free parking and good free WiFi. Very good deal for the price. You won't go wrong staying here. Enjoy.

    « Great location »

Extremely happy I picked this hotel. The location is very close to restaurants and right on the beach. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was plentiful. You can easily walk to the many attractions in the area.

« No frills motel, comfy stay »

First off I didn't stay in the water front portion so I can't review that part. If you book here there's two separate buildings. One on the waterfront with suites and across the road which is your basic motel. And that's exactly what it is. Basic motel, we had a one bed room which had a queen. The room we had was really small. It did have one of those small full size fridges which was nice, rv size stove, small counter space, flat screen with basic cable, a chair, small bathroom, etc, really the room we had was about the size of a larger rv. That's about my only complaint. We felt stuffed, even carrying my luggage to the room, they had mini tables and chairs blocking the walkways to the room, but overall bed was clean and comfy pillows, shower was clean, decor was a little dated but I don't care about that. They had a decent breakfast buffet with standard hot waffles, eggs, cinnamon rolls etc etc, price was a little more that what I would've like to spend, but expect that in the warm months on weekends, they do have a small outdoor pool and lazy river in the motel part and across the road at other building they have the indoor pool, which you can access. So if you're looking for a no frills basic place this is it.

    « Great Hotel. »

I only stay at Best Westerns. The properties are always great. They are priced well. Beds are always comfortable. The staff is always courteous and helpful. This was another successful and wonderful stay. Oh and the points never expire! Thanks Best Western!

    « Great view »

We stayed in the oceanfront part of this property. First night we had a one bedroom suite the second we were moved to an oceanfront King room with kitchenette. This room was less expensive, but actually a better room with a bigger window, table and chair set and bigger view. If I were to stay again I would pick this option.

    5
« Nice, In-expensive place close to the beach »

This hotel has 2 buildings in either side of Ocean Blvd. with one directly on the beach. We stayed in the older building across Ocean Blvd. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with dining recommendations. The typical free breakfast was quite good and offered both gluten and dairy free options on request. The gluten free bagels came warm and individually wrapped. The location is close to the beach but a good ways south of the boardwalk.

    « Old but clean »

This motel complex is a part of the Best Western Plus franchise. The staff were the highlight, very friendly and efficient. The rooms were old but clean and decked out with modern needs like A/C. The TV was analog but worked well. The breakfast was the standard fare that ?breakfast included' gets you, definitely nothing to boast about. Parking is painful. The motel has about 10 spots in the cul-de-sac of the facility, but the other spots are in the street around the outside. In an area that is frequented by those at the lower end of the socio-economic scale I was always concerned about my hire cars safety. There are a lot of people just ?hanging around' when your coming and going. I'd be less likely to stay here if I had children with me. The accommodation is NOT on the beach, it is one street back.

    « Great Value »

We went to MB on the spur of the moment for a 3 day mini vacation. Booked a room at this hotel and to be honest I was not impressed when we pulled up. I typically do not stay in hotels with room doors on the outside. The staff was very warm and accommodating. They seemed to enjoy their job and took it seriously. Very good customer service!!!!! The room was clean and well lit. It was a king room with a seperate sitting area with a pull out sofa. Great experience and great price. Clean quiet great CS what else could you ask for!!

    3
    « Slightly disappointed »

When we booked this hotel it appeared the hotel was on the beach. Well part of it is. The other part is across the street with no view of the beach. If you want the view of the beach the rooms are considerably more expensive. We were not aware of that at the time. The rooms are small and the a/c unit would only put out cold air I couldn't get it to heat as the temperatures were cold the week we were there. The bedding was quite light weight. I definitely wouldn't stay here again.

    « Overall...not a great experience! »

Checked in...the guy at the desk was so rude! He said I owed way more than I should have, over $100 more. I had to cancel the 2nd night due to that. I called management, someone from the hotel changed my reservation without my knowledge, weeks after I made the reservation. Room smelled moldy, kinda musty.

« Great Location when in the right building »

Spent two nights on my vacation trip through 3 southern states. 3rd Hotel, the best so far. Plenty of space for one person, with full kitchen (but not used). Waterfront, 5th floor, great view with the sun's morning greetings. Staff very friendly, breakfast adequate. Some minus things: - Guest Direcory quote: " 27. Dry Cleaning / Professional Laundry Available" But when I went to the reception with the appropriate bag (was in room) the I was told that this has been terminated but I could use washing mashines and dryers in the buildings. Proposal: strike through this sentence in the directory! - Office Chair way too low, could not be set higher, had to use alternate but less comfortable chair for doing stuff on the laptop - adventurous (because unstable) toilet seat

    « Guest »

Staff is super. Front desk, the breakfast staff and housekeeping phenomenal. I would give a five star but..The rooms were very clean and nice but mine had an odor of old stuffy smoke. Also the indoor pool was not great and didn't even use it.. the outdoor pool and hot tub not heated. Couldn't use them either too cold

    « 3 bedroom Cottage »

We stayed in the 3 bedroom cottage, which was like a mini house, it had a living room, dining room, two bathrooms and three bedrooms. The two king bedrooms shared a bathroom area with both a bathtub and shower with two separate vanity areas. There was also a full kitchen with all required cooking equipment, and utensils in the cottage. The wifi access was amazing across the entire complex. Our stay included breakfast which offered several options, such as fruits, yogurt, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage or ham, juices as well as hot beverages. We also went to the heated pool and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I could not find anything to complain about other than we were arriving later than expected and no one answered their landline at all it appears that there maybe a fault on the line. I would stay there again.

    « Family birthday vac! »

Excellent staff and overall experience. Kids and family had fun. Parking tight. Rooms w balcony had a perfect view. Breakfast was great a variety of foods and bag breakfast if someone in your room doesn't want to get up

« Get the Penthouse suite!!!!!!! »

Ok, we originally booked a condo somewhere else. After driving 8 hours, we had to leave immediately and this was the only place that was available last minute. I can't speak for the rest of the rooms but the 2 bedroom Penthouse Suite was AMAZING!!! The checkin process was a bit of a headache because our room wasn't ready on time BUT the head maid (I believe her name was Karen) went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! I never knew Best Western has private penthouse suites and this one is definitely worth it! You would think you were at a very upscale hotel! It is at the top of the building and there are only 2 available. This particular suite has a partial view of the ocean and a full wall glass window to view outside. The other suite was vacant so we literally had the entire top floor to ourselves for most of our stay. Even when another family checked in, it didn't matter because they were on their side and we were on ours. We were able to watch our older son in the pool from the private balcony and didn't have to deal with noise from the other guests because no one else was allowed on the top floor besides the cleaning service (This is perfect if you are like us and love your privacy!) My family enjoyed everything about this suite. It is very newly renovated and beautiful! We were able to cook some of our own meals in the fully stocked kitchen. All we needed was groceries, everything else we needed to prepare our food was readily available. It's located close to a lot of activities. There are 2 pools that we enjoyed and free breakfast thats has a large variety of food to make everyone happy. My guys loved making fresh waffles every morning! Overall, I would definitely stay in the 2 bedroom penthouse suite again and highly recommend it!

« Two years in a row and they never fail »

This is my second year now staying at this hotel for my sons Cal Ripken baseball experience. Staff is always very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Breakfast is great with a different variety. The biscuits and gravy are great and one of my favorites. Room is a little outdated but very clean. Well worth the amount that we paid.

« Short But Sweet Golf Trip »

Stayed two nights at this hotel, arriving January 31, 2018. Staff upgraded our room to 3rd floor right on the ocean with kitchenette. Room was clean & beds very comfortable. Woke daily to the sunrise over the ocean....Beautiful! Morning breakfast that was included was satisfactory in the lobby across the street.

    « Not what I expected.. »

My room looked nothing like the photos shown online. Awkward set up with check-in across the street in motel-like building. The main building has low ceilings, poorly lit hallways and disgusting carpet. Our 4th floor room faced beach, but just didn't feel clean or comfortable. Not at all what I expected from a Best Western property, so we left and decided to spend our night elsewhere...

    2
« First time in myrtle beach »

First off I would like to say way to long for check in I was like damn I already paid for the room, it should never take 20 min to check in especially with two people working the front desk. Next thing would be the price for the room not worth it, I paid like 235 or more for two nights and I wasn't even in the building by the ocean. Why so much for off season? The room was way smaller than expected for a king size bed. House keeping knocked or our door like around ten ok I told her we was leaving around 10:45 am check out is 11:00 am she came back knocking on door around 10:35 like trying to rush us or something I'm over this hotel will not stay at best western again.

    1
« Will never stay again »

Was given room on low level when requested high unobstructed view of ocean. Outrageous off season price. Guest room not clean with hair in bed and many items broken or unsafe to include balcony door, lever in shower coming off, clogged commode and sinks, chlorine smell throughout entire building, outlets loose creating fire hazard. Breakast primarily carbs. Would definitely not recommend anyone to stay here.

    1
    « Terrible Facilities »

The front desk staff was mean and rude. Like there nobody better than him. He was like i am a manager overnight at walmart, sheriff and here at the hotel. He even said so i check you in and locked you up if i have to. late checkout weren't allowed even for extra hour. The indoor pool was terribly dirty and disgusting. We went inside to use the pool but the door was blocked off with all those garbage. The bathroom in the pool area was gross!! Molds and mildews everywhere with a old rusty chair. The chlorine smell was too strong and there's no towels at all. Room was too small especially the bathroom. Cannot use by two people at the same time. Overall experience wasn't pleasant at all. I really believe I shouldn't be charged with my points since nothing was good in that hotel.

    3
« Motel Part of this Best Western Not Recommended »

We were in the motel part of the facility. There was a note on the HVAC unit that said ?use thermostat on wall? but the thermostat on the wall was deactivated. We figured out we needed to use the HVAC unit - they need to correctly mark for guests. Also the lamp between our beds could not be used as it was broken. The little knob you turn had broken off. The curtains do not wrap around the ends of the curtain rod. This allows light to get in along the sides and makes sleep difficult. The refrigerator door didn't close well and the interior light stayed on. You could see light through the gap in the seal all night long. I understand this hotel has better rooms and that the ?motel? portion of the facility will be renovated soon (that is really needed). The price for our room was nice on the wallet though!

    « First rate hotel. »

Loved everything about this place. Polite, efficient staff. Extremely clean room. We had a two king bed efficiency unit on the ocean with a private balcony containing two rocking chairs. Lovely view. Off season rate was great. We would come back here in an instant. A double shout out to the polite, efficient staff! Thank you.

« Good value, if luxury not expected. »

Exceptionally friendly economical option within steps of the beautiful myrtle beach. We chose to this place primarily for the affordable value found through expedia and breakfast included turned out to be one of the best we've had in the area! Staff was very friendly, professional, accommodating. Bathroom and kitchenette seemed very clean, room had one big dust web, but since we only stayed one night, we did not find it to be a big issue. Bed was "okay", but pillows were way too thick for a comfort rest... Good water pressure and temperature, no skimping here. One area of advice, change curtains to cover all of the window for full privacy!!! Very frustrating...otherwise good value and excellent complimentary breakfast!

« Very nice beach, very good hotel, swimming pool cool »

I visit for 12 days, room are good some of them have kitchen, breakfast good,Swimming pool was cool, Jacuzzi is good, Very unpleasant experience with the towels for the pool you have to walk to the reception in another building 400 meters cross the street and wait several minutes to ask them even to return them.

    « I'll be back! »

The property and rooms were clean and bright. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient and the parking was close. There was not a microwave oven in the room which was a minor inconvenience.

    « Very Nice »

I have falling in love with this hotel. The rooms are nice and everyone there is nice. They make you feel at home. I went down and stayed at this hotel twice in one week. Never done that before. But I was so happy with my first stay I decide we should go back that same week for New Year Eve and stay. Will try and stay here every time I come down

« Friendliest place this side of disney world »

Staff was Excellent. Got there extremely early. They gave me a card to get into the pool, business center, and fitness center. Gave great suggestions on where to go and where to eat. Breakfast was a hot breakfast. Something different every day. The people I spoke to were the most helpful and friendly that I've ever met. The room, single queen efficiency, was a little on the small side. But it had stove, fridge, table and chairs and an easy chair. So, absolutely no complaints there either.

    « December 24th Visit »

When I travel I always try and stay at a Best Western hotel because when it comes to a clean room they always get an A+ rating from me. Even so for a dog friendly room. The bathrooms are spic and span clean - no gross cruddy corners inside or outside the tub or toilet and that's super important to me. The beds are firm enough and clean and the carpet isn't soiled with stains - I am comfortable walking around the room without my shoes on. Martin at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I want to give special praise to Madison the manager on Christmas Eve. My 1st room didn't have a microwave in it- I thought it came with one. I have a special diet and can't eat fast food so need to heat or cook my own food. Madison moved us to an upgraded kitchenette room at not extra cost - And I truly appreciate the fact that my needs were important to her. That to me is the true meaning of accommodating your guest. Thank you very much Madison - your representation of the Best Western name should be applauded and not just by me.

    5
« Madison at the desk was awesome! »

I made a mistake when booking through a third party website and showed up to find out I had reserved the wrong days! Madison contacted the other agency, had them review my money, and then was able to book a first floor room near handicapped parking all while smiling and helping entertain my small child. The room and pool area were clean, breakfast was good, overall a great experience.

    5
    « Awesome place »

The room was beautifully furnished with Thomasville furnishings and had a balcony with 2 rocking chairs overlooking the beach. This building sits just slightly closer to the beach than surrounding hotels, so when sitting on balcony, you are totally unaware of other hotels. Food was awesome and location was good. Thank you all staff

« A Family Friendly Hotel Near Disneyland »

It is a good experience staying for 2 nights at this hotel. It just take minutes to Downtown Disney and Disney Parks on foot. The Staff are friendly and helpfull, the breakfast are standard but Ok. The room is clean and spacious (we are family of four with 12 years old teen and 9 years old kid), definitely would stay here again for our next trip. Worth for money !!

    « Secret condom »

My husband and I stayed for one night first glance we thought it was a nice hotel upon arrival it was not what we expected, the hotel was split between beachfront property and across the street property. This we could handle. When trying to use the stove, one of the burners did not work this weekend handle. When opening the door to the closet the interior handle fell off, this we could handle we just stuck it right back on with the sticky tape that they had used to mend it in the first place. The one thing that gross to sell the most was when we had noticed a condom wrapper stuck behind the picture on the wall made me think twice about sleeping in that bed.

    5
« Really nice and great price »

Room was clean. Loved that we had to use our room key to get into the area. Great value and wonderful breakfast. Great selection. We would definitely stay at the hotel again. So close to beach we could open the balcony door and hear the waves.

« Home Away From Home! »

This is the third time we've stayed at the Best Western Plus Cottages right across from the beach. It's truly a home away from home and large enough to host our family's Thanksgiving vacation. The staff was great and we look forward to coming back again next year. See you soon!

    3
    « Could be better... »

The staff was friendly and breakfast was fine. We needed ice throughout our stay and had to go out & buy ice, because neither ice machine worked during our stay. Also on our last night the "clean" towels in our room had a few long dark hairs on them as well as a few shorter hairs. We had gotten in late and didn't report it though because we were so tired. The rest of the room was comfortable & clean. The lock on our door didn't work, but when reported, it was quickly repaired.

Very friendly staff from check-in to breakfast servers to check-out. decent price for the room. Breakfast had a large selection of hot or cold food, fruit, coffee and juices. Hotel is across the street from the ocean. Did not use the indoor or outdoor pools or gym but they looked clean. Room was clean , very comfortable bed, great shower. Has refrigerator, stove and sink if you want to cook your own meals.

« Stay Away From Here - Unless Rude Front-Staff is your "Thing" »

Would never recommend this location to anyone. Front service staff was rude and unprofessional upon my arrival, making me feel like dirt. Not wearing a name tag, and her manners and just blatant disrespect for a paying customer that had just driven 11 hours through the night to get here - you can guess I was expecting a little hospitality. Sadly, no. Reported this whole situation to corporate too. The story is simple: I give her my ID, AAA card (for discount), and credit card. She takes all this and is doing her thing in the computer, so I think, well, it'll probably take her a couple minutes so I take out my phone and check email while she continues her work. Next thing I remember is a, "Are you done?" My head bobs up, "Excuse me?" "Are you done? I'm just waiting for you now." I immediately say I'm sorry and that I was the one WAITING and being CONSIDERATE, not her. She continues to say that no, she was the one waiting on me since I was "on my phone." At this point, between the lack of food, sleep deprivation, and more, I was about to emotionally boil over so I just shut it and let her take her sweet time then showing me the map of the hotel in her still rude-as-can-be tone. Lorie, the general manager, left me a telephone voicemail, and I appreciate her taking the time to be as professional as she was in her message after I left the following morning, but the damage was done. If I had been met by Martin, who checked me out that morning, I would have had a much better experience upon check-in. Never met a more genuine, kind, caring, and attentive person in the 5 minutes I was in his company before getting back on the road. P.S. Thankfully, I was just staying one night here until family flew in to meet them as we were staying someplace else for the whole week. Thank god for that. P.P.S. The rude woman also didn't give me the internet access code so I had to call and wait for a guy representing their internet service to give me access after about 20 minutes. Talk about a backwards operation here.

    « Myrtle Beach »

The hotel was very clean and conveniently located to the beach and other areas of interest. Staff was exceptionally friendly and kind. The boardwalk was only a short drive. The hotel offered a very nice breakfast with hot grilled items and was a great addition to our stay.

« Great Hotel and Good Value »

Nice Hotel. The owner, Jack is always around. I stayed there several times. Staff is always nice, breakfast is good and it's close to the beach! Rooms are clean . There is only two pet friendly rooms.

« Rooms are nice but need better maintenance »

I recently stayed in a 1 Queen efficiency room without an ocean view. The room itself was nice and fairly spacious - especially considering the price. The bathroom was just very poorly maintained. The whirlpool tub/shower was difficult to get in and out of and was leaking during my stay. The doors were hard to slide open and closed, and the tub did not look or feel clean. The business centre looked very nice, however computers were old (running Windows XP!) and neither myself nor staff could get the printer to print a document. The staff, however, were very helpful in addressing issues at the business centre. All of the staff seemed to be very friendly during my stay. This hotel would definitely be rated 5 stars if maintenance was kept up on the rooms.

    « Oceon View »

Great ocean view and easy access to the beach, comfy bed and equipped with a full kitchen which is nice to have, away from the strip so nice and quiet, you'll need a car if you want to head down that way unless you enjoy a long walk, you can also rent golf carts and scooters on ocean Blvd . Bring lawn chairs and beach towels for the beach.

    « Excellent,would book for future stays »

Great place to stay. Had a King, efficiency, with private balcony. Loved it! Had a view of the pool and the ocean across the street. The full breakfast is fantastic. The staff actually will take your trash from your table for you and get you refills. Biscuits and sausage gravy, plus the oatmeal was great. Anything you could want for breakfast. Coffee is good and available anytime. Staff was very nice and helpful. The fitness room was good. Pools clean. Have a walkway to get across the street to the beach, easy access. Walmart market right behind the store. Close to boardwalk but not right in the middle where it could get noisy. Beds were very comfortable. The pillows were a little too soft for me, but still comfortable. Room was clean, refrig, stove, microwave, all was very clean. Enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.

    « Nice Quite & Clean »

Nice little hotel with ocean front rooms and nice balconies. Every room has a full kitchen with ice maker so no running down hall to ice machine. The beach was not crowed at all in front of the hotel and the hotel is near restaurants and the strip is just a short car ride up the road. They also have an indoor as well as an outdoor pool.

« Clean, great location and friendly employees! »

This Best Western provided us with a very pleasant stay while we were in Myrtle Beach. The room was clean and the location was fantastic! Got a really good rate and have no complaints, except that the toilet handle had to be held down to flush the toilet and the ice maker wasn't working one evening, but was fixed by the following day. I'd definitely stay here again!

« Tired, But Making an Effort »

This is an older property, and it shows: there's rust on the outside where the paint has worn away; parking is a little funky, and the lobby/breakfast room is cramped. The pool is right on the road. There is a beachfront building across the street that is probably fancier, but I never had a reason to visit it. The room I did stay in was clean; the bed comfortable and the towels fluffy and plentiful. The kitchen was fully outfitted with dishes, etc. The workout room was tiny, but the equipment was in working order, and there were towels, a tv, and good air-conditioning. The one thing I didn't like about the hotel, although I guess I understand, are its security measures: you must hang a tag on your car to indicate you are a guest. You must present a ticket (given to you at check-in) at breakfast. These practices make you feel guilty...of something, I don't know what. If the purpose is to keep the riff-raff out, then I guess I picked the wrong neighborhood to stay in. Since my stay took place during off-season, the hotel was quiet. I am guessing that when tourist season is in full swing, the road noise would be very noticeable. Not a bad choice, or a bad stay, but not my cup of tea.

« Good BUT not a Plus location »

Small rooms, could be cleaner and smelly A/C unit. Smallest bathroom I have ever stayed in.Room appearance was good. Breakfast was very good. Front desk people were great, helpful and pleasant. Location was across the street from the beach.

    « Wonderful »

Front Desk Staff is very friendly. The hotel is very clean. Would highly recommend this hotel to any and all of my friends. This is my 4th or 5th stay here and have loved it every time. Oceanfront rooms are wonderful, balcony has great views of the beach and ocean.

« Fall weekend at the beach »

We wanted a weekend get away at an oceanfront place in Myrtle Beach. Found the Best Western with a good rate and grabbed it. The front desk person Martin was very welcoming and friendly. We saw him a few times while we were there and he continued to be cordial and helpful. The breakfast area is nice with a decent variety of morning food, both hot and cold. Although it was crowded because it was a weekend, there was outside seating as well to handle it. Things are clean and maintained in and around the hotel for the most part. We had a pretty bad smell coming from the air conditioning that was looked at promptly and somewhat relieved, but did not go away entirely. People working there were overall quite friendly.

« Vacation at the Beach »

Martin was great. Also there was an issue with the TV but maintenance fixed it. Also it was a little cool in my room so when I turned the air conditioner down to 75 the HEAT would come on. I still wanted the air but HEAT came out. They may need a new heating system.

« Pricey but extremely nice.... »

Lovely place to stay....room was clean and very nicely decorated. Excellent view of the ocean and a patio as well. Staff very accommodating with directions to various locations. Fourth time we've stayed there and will stay again next time we are in the area!

« Excellent pool and comfortable room »

The pool, hot tub and lazy river were excellent features of this hotel. It was clean and well managed. Room was comfortable. Bathroom was very small but functionable. I could see noise being an issue when the area is very busy. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and hope to return for another stay soon!

« So far so good except the weather! »

1st time in Myrtle Beach and our 1st of 3 days is done. We are in a beachfront king suite which is a little out dated but clean and comfortable. Check in was a little confusing because you have to go to the main site across the street. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Really like the small efficiency apartment feel, perfect for a couple. Only wish is hoping the the storms stop the remaining 2 days here!

    « Will stay again! »

Hotel was very convenient located right on the beach. It was clean and the staff were fantastic! The amenities were more than enough and well above standard. Breakfast was basic but just what we needed and was delicious. We stayed in the Penthouse and would do it again. The room was well furnished with the most comfy beds, including the pull out sofa bed. Bathrooms were super sized, accommodating and clean! Well stocked kitchen with everything we needed and more.

we enjoyed a wonderful 4 day getaway at the Best Western Plus Grand Strand. al staff were amazing, friendly, courteous & very helpful to us and all the guests needs. Jim (maintenance ) was always making sure we were enjoying a great stay and assisted with tips on what to see & do in the area Martin (front) was exceptionally wonderful & went out of his way to attend to the guests needs & to ensure their stay & vacation was enjoyable. Our room met our needs and has a fully equipped kitchen with supplies. All was very clean and had plenty of towels & washroom supplies. The pool areas, both indoor & outdoor were clean & maintained well. the grounds & outside areas were upkeep daily the hot breakfast was always good & had plenty of options including other items. (cereal, yogurt, fruit cups fresh fruit muffins breads etc ) We definitely plan to return

    « A TWO SEPARATE BUILDING EXPERIENCE »

A good, not great two building property separated by a major thoroughfare-across the street from each other. The west side of the street property comes with office, pool, lazy river, rooms, etc. The east side building...just a building with an indoor pool, BUT --OCEANFRONT....but a walk from this property to cross the street to the pool and main building...they just DON'T seem to be of the same chain because of their locations,,,it's just strange-weird..BUT STILL NICE. Rates aren't bad and the rooms ARE clean.

« Wonderful fall get away »

We stayed here last October and returned again this year. We stayed in an ocean view suite which was wonderful. It was nice to walk out the door and right onto the beach. We had to walk across the street for breakfast, but that wasn't a problem at all as the breakfast menu was large and the food was wonderful. We also had a full kitchen that we used. The location is great as you can travel a short distance to North Myrtle Beach or go in the opposite direction for a short distance and reach Surfside, Garden City or Murrells Inlet. Overall, we had a great time.

    3
« Not as good as it once was »

I've stayed here many times throughout the years. The upkeep is not what I was used to. The room was not ready when we arrived. Once we entered the room, sink was full of water, smelled like fish. Requested a different room. Air conditioning and hot water was an issue in it.

    2
« Small room tiny bathroom. Good breakfast »

The room was small for a king-sized bed. The air conditioner did not work right. The bathroom faucet was loose. Check in time was long. The breakfast was good. It was quiet and slept well in the king-sized bed. The temperature in the room was 77. I cannot recommend this hotel/motel. My room door was on the outside.

    2
    « Not to good »

You can do a lot better then this hotel. It was a struggle the whole weekend with parking and seating for breakfast. The hotel is old and dirty .Staff wasnt very friendly or caring at all .Only positive thing was easy aces to beach

« Pickleball trip to myrtle beach »

I picked this hotel as it was highly rated and wasn't disappointed. The hotel is a small gem in the middle of central myrtle beach. The grounds of the hotel, the rooms and the pools/jacuzzis were extremely clean. The front desk staff was mostly friendly and helpful and the cleaning crew was excellent also. The ocean and indoor pool/jacuzzi were across the street from room I had but the ocean is literally a 50 second walk from the hotel room. I was also surprised that the balcony for my room in addition to the outdoor pool/jacuzzi view, also had a view of the ocean across the street as there was a gap between buildings. All in all a nice hotel to choose for a vacation in myrtle beach.

« Sagging beds, poor housekeping »

Be advised....the beds sag in the middle. We got a king bed and ended up having to put pillows in the middle to give us some space. Also the housekeeping staff did not properly service the room during the duration of our stay. We were there for our anniversary, and the housekeeping and sagging bed, left a bad taste in our mouth. Front desk was awesome....

    « Perfect stay »

This hotel is the perfect place to stay while visiting Charleston, easy to get to everything, we were in town for a family wedding, and visited Patriots Point. This hotel is extremely well maintained, very comfortable bed, large room. Breakfast was hot and well optioned with staff on hand, perfect pool with plenty of lounge area.

    « Very Good Bargain »

We had a suite with kitchenette and 2 rooms with 3 queen beds for 3 adults and 4 kids, space was tight but worked out just fine. Decor was updated, as was bathroom. Sink in kitchenette was slow to drain I did not report it as we were only there 3 days and I honestly did not care that much. Door handle was tricky and the plate was loose but it locked and shut just fine. I did not report that either as it still shut so I honestly did not care. I had called ahead and asked for ground floor because of my handicapped mother, and it was waiting on us at check in. That was a major plus for me. The staff was great. The breakfast saved us a lot of money and was a lot more than your typical continental breakfast. Seating was extremely crowded, but worth it. Pool was clean and free towels are available for pool use. Ocean is across the street. If that is a problem they do have a building across the stress but not with rooms big enough for families I don't think. It suited us, we walked over no problem. It is a great clean stay for the price, and decent location.

« One of the best hotels on the beach. »

This was a fall back location due to hurricanes in Savannah. I found a special online and the team there verified everything before the day was done. This was a very last minute change due to Irma. this is a great old house worthy of the BW Plus banner.

    5
« hurricane Irma had to evacuate ! »

the best sleep we all had since we had to evacuate from hurricane Irma ! came from miami to georgia and ended in south carolina what a beautiful state to bad we only had one day . and the best western was the best place by the beach .

    « Very pleasantly surprised! »

We had never been to the East Coast before but have always had good luck with Best Westerns and this one didn't disappoint. Clean, very comfortable and what a delightful staff! Breakfast was great too! Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on the beach front rooms!!

« Perfect Location for the entire Grand Strand »

I got a last minute deal on this place, and was excited to stay. Was impressed by the pool. They had quite a large outdoor pool, hot tub, and lazy river outdoors and then a smaller pool and hot tub indoors. The hotel has an ocean front building and a larger building just across the street. The convenience to the ocean was wonderful. The location is a few miles from the MB boardwalk to the north and a few miles from Surfside to the south. The airport is only about a mile away. The hotel breakfast was a standard Best Western breakfast with hot and cold breakfast items available. I will stay again on future trips.

    4
« Very Good Value on Myrtle Beach »

I have a lot of good things to say about Best Western Grand Strand. All the help were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Room was well equipped with all the standard things, large room with king size bed, nice bath and room opens out on a small terrace. Last time we were there we had the standard queen room. This time for just a little more we got a full kitchen with micro wave, refrig. sink, etc. This was definitely worth the little more we had to pay. Of course the location is real close to the beach and has nice indoor and outside pool, lazy river and large hot tub. What more could you want?

    4
« Oceanfront rooms were wonderful and at a great rate »

The oceanfront room was awesome. Was able to walk out on the balcony and look out to the ocean and beach. So relaxing. Room came with a kitchenette with a full refrigerator. The building also has an indoor pool and self parking lot. The breakfast could use an improvement. Decent food but not excellent.

    2
    « My experience. »

Parking in a secured area is limited and its first come first served parking. The two treadmills in the fitness room were broken. The carpet in the room was dirty. The beach view rooms were blocked by palm trees.

BW has a wonderful representative in Betty who greeted us upon our check-in. The service provided by Betty was refreshing and the best we have exprerience to date.

« Great place to stay »

We enjoyed our stay a great deal the room was nice and the staff was very accommodating. They provided great recommendations for outings and the beach was wonderful, the indoor pool and sauna next trip we plan to get rooms on the beach.

« Pleasant Surprise ... But Parking is TERRIBLE »

I'll keep this short ... When I arrived at the Best Western Plus Grand Strand Inn & Suites, I drove up to the reception entrance ... The hotel looked cramped and there were absolutely no parking spaces, so I left my car at the entrance as I checked in ... Check in was pleasant and easy enough ... I asked about the parking and I was told that my room was in their second building, across the street, directly on the beach and I could find parking there ... So I drove the car across the street ... and guess what? ... STILL NO PARKING ... Myrtle Beach is notorious for their lack of parking, so I squirreled my car in a corner next to the building, hoping not to get towed ... When I went up to my room, I was surprised to find that I was given a suite with a full kitchen and a view directly over the beach ... The room was very nice and clean and the bed was comfortable ... Other than the parking situation, it was a nice, quiet and comfortable stay ... Waking up to a view of the sun rising over the ocean wasn't too shabby either! ... If I ever find myself in Myrtle Beach, I would stay here again ... but I'd get here earlier for the parking!

« Unacceptable for a Best Western, especially for a BW "plus" »

The hotel is well located with a nice swimming pool. The room is comfortable but : - we had to clean the toilet seat cause there was urine ; - the balcony was so dirty with dirty chairs; we tried to clean them but they were too dirty. How is that possible for a Best western hotel; especially for a supposedly PLUS. Not the right way to treat a client (Platinum reward card holder). This needs to be fixed quickly.

    4
    « Excellent value »

Had a room with balcony directly on the beach with full kitchen. Mid-week rates made this an exceptional bargain. Way south of the hard-core tourist area was a plus but also meant there was little within walking distance. Walmart grocery just 2 short blocks inland was a great convenience. Website doesn't entirely make clear that the beachfront building has indoor pool, spa, and laundry while the main building across the road has outdoor pool, small lazy river and another laundry. Staff were not always knowledgeable about some basic tourist questions like how much do parking meters cost downtown (8 minutes for 25¢ -- ouch). If you want to be directly on the beach away from tourist hoards in a pleasant, clean room with spotless kitchen, this is an excellent choice.

    3
    « Average stay »

Pros: Great location, central Myrtle Beach. Beach area not overcrowded 2 locations (one directly on the beach and the other across the street) We stayed across the street which is the main building where they serve breakfast and have the outdoor pool. Small lazy river as well, we didn't use the pool facilities. The kids at the pool looked like they were enjoying it! Had a very small gym - wish I would have realized it was there earlier in the week! The bed was comfortable and there were NO bed bugs! Great having a kitchenette When we arrived our room smelled like bleach, I know the room was disinfected. Very strong smell at first but later went away. Cons: Breakfast was ok, not the best. Coffee was blah. The only egg they served were scrambled eggs made from a powder mix. They served greasy sausage patties everyday, NO bacon. I think changing up a few more items on the menu would be a great idea. We always stay at a hotel with a breakfast included and this breakfast is at the bottom of our list. The parking lot spaces are crammed so close together. The room is very SMALL, the smallest bathroom I've ever had in a hotel. Our bathroom on our cruise ship cabin was bigger and those are small! Not sure how often the room cleaning is done but thought it would be done daily? At the beginning of our week, we arrived back at our room at 330pm and the room was not done yet, shortly after we arrived the maid came to the room asking if there was anything she could get us like more towels. We asked if the room could be cleaned and she said well my shift is ending soon so I would need to do it now. That was inconvenient for us because we wanted to do an early dinner. We noticed the "Do not disturb" sign to hang on the door says the same thing on both sides. Every hotel I've stayed at usually says "Please clean room" on the opposite side. Just a suggestion. The hotel is run down, needs a reno. For the price we paid, I expected a little more. This was our first time staying here and first time staying at a Best Western, I think I will try somewhere else the next time around.

« Consistent through the years »

    « Clean - Basic motel »

Our stay was okay, not what we expected for the price we paid. We stayed four nights. Areas they did great: Room cleanliness, Free wi-fi, Free breakfast Areas they failed: Customer service, cleanliness of common areas Our room was exceptionally clean. We booked an oceanfront room. Good sized room with a dining table and kitchenette. This room was in a building separate from the main building. We had awesome beach access from this building. Also, there is a great outdoor shower on the deck of this building for rinsing off when returning from the beach. Very convenient, especially with kids. They also offer a free breakfast buffet. This was pretty convenient and generous, I doubt other hotels have this in the area. Wide range of items to choose from. (Eggs, sausage, pancakes, bagels, even the option to make a fresh waffle with ready to go waffle mix...etc.). Customer service was basic. Our first encounter was with a younger front desk lady who had quite an attitude. I have a five year old daughter, and I am married, I know attitude when I'm being given it. I also know that having an attitude with a customer is very unprofessional. However, the older ladies in the afternoon were much more professional and friendly, as was the lady I presumed to be the manager. My other complaint was that I had to call the front desk my third day there to remind them that housekeeping had not yet come to freshen up our room. No fresh towels brought to us or garbage taken out until I reminded them. This should've been a basic service provided without a request. The indoor pool and pool areas were surprisingly dirty. Bathrooms were very neglected, pool water didn't seem to be filtering as there were many things visibly floating around. Also, not to any fault of this establishment, keep in mind Myrtle Beach has a bit of a "rough" side. The oceanfront building is next to the Viking motel, which seemed to be a party hotspot. Lots of activity over there, stay vigilant if traveling with your kids. This building doesn't have much for security. The pool sliding doors do not even lock, they can be slid open from outside the building. I am a bit of a security freak, so definitely one thing I tested out of curiosity. Overall, I would consider staying again, but I'd check other areas and establishments before staying here again. If I chose this motel again it would be for a clean room and free breakfast.

    « Decent quality hotel »

Hotel is nothing luxurious however it's a clean place and not too far from attractions such as downtown and Family Kingdom if you like to walk. It's located in the quieter side of town. Rooms are not too big so a family of 4 might find it tight. We took the kitchenette and although we had breakfast included, it was nice to have a fridge in the room to store cold drinks and snacks. My expectations were not high therefore I was pleasantly surprised. It's basically a 3* motel like room. It's a quaint place and you have to cross the street to get to the beach unless you stay at more expensive ocean view room. There are no elevators in section across the street therefore if with elderly family members or small children, select lower floor. Staff at reception was very friendly and ready to help. Real southern charm.

    « Happier last year »

Overall a nice place to stay, breakfast is excellent and the pool/lazy river are nice. About half of the staff did not seem as friendly as our 1st stay in 2016. Would still go back. Best price, for what you get, that I know of.

    2
« Expected more from Best Western »

I've stayed at Best Western in many other cities and I was disappointed with this one. We were in their annex building. The room was extremely small. The bathroom was the smallest I've seen with this chain. Mold in the tub, low water pressure and the tiniest sink I've ever seen in a motel. Poor TV picture and bad WI-FI reception. Not what I expected for a $180/night room. On a good note, the continental breakfast was good.

    5

    « OK stay »

check-in was ok, the person seemed to be a little overwhelmed, she was alone checking people in. Once we got to our room at we noticed that the toilet wasn't working it was stopped up we immediately notified front desk told them we were headed to beach so they had plenty of time to get things fixed, we had to remind them once we returned from the beach and eating with the family. the maintenance man arrived to help and did everything he could, his only solution after 3 hrs. was to replace the toilet. it was already after 10 pm he checked back on us before his shift ended and offered to finish but our family was already in bed. we had to go all night without a working toilet. No one seemed to care but the maintenance man, that worked diligently until 11pm to help us. Although management notified proper people no one followed up on problem, when we told management the next morning, they were only concerned with us checking-out as to say well you are leaving so what can we do about it. we were told that the manger was on a conference call and would get back with us, we are still waiting on that call. We attempted to call the hotel back for two days still no help.

    « Good...for the most part »

This was our first vacation to Myrtle Beach. I had reviewed several hotels/motels and finally decided on this one. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. Check-in was quick and front desk staff was friendly. We had a queen suite with a kitchenette located in the oceanfront building. Parking was kinda tight, but we were able to park near our building during all 3 nights of our stay. The view from our room was absolutely amazing. However, we were not overly impressed by the room itself, even with the AAA discount. Bed and linens were clean and comfy. Furniture showed signs of wear and curtains were stained. Stove did not heat up properly and the refrigerator barely kept our cans of soda cool. Bathroom was nice, but small. The tub mat was well-used. Towels and wash cloths were clean and soft, but the hairdryer was gross and nonfunctional. Housekeeping staff was friendly and did some basic cleaning. They made the bed, emptied trash, and provided fresh towels, etc. Balcony and chairs were suitable and we felt our room was safe and secure. Breakfast was good, offering waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee, among other things. Dining in the lobby area did get a little cramped and additional tables and chairs were set up outside in the front parking lot/car port area of the main building. Again, we were content with our stay, but certain aspects of the motel could have been better, relative to the cost. We plan to stay at a different resort during our next visit to Myrtle Beach.

    « Family Vacation »

Very friendly staff. Family friendly. CLEAN rooms. On site maintenance staff very responsive. Our air conditioner broke in our room. After notifying the front desk they sent maintenance to our room and within 30 minutes the guy had switched out the unit and the room was cooling back down. We will definitely be returning next year.

« Average no more than that. »

« Clean room, great location, what else can you ask for? »

My fiancee booked this hotel for the 2nd year in a row and for some reason I am just now getting around to writing this review. I guess we enjoyed our stay so much it slipped our mind. We usually stay in the building across the street from the beach, but for a few dollars less I don't mind the few minute walk to the beach. Our rooms are always clean and I am a super picky about hotel beds, but their beds are always comfortable and clean. I've had better service and cleanliness here than at some 5 star hotels. We told my soon to be mother and father in law about this hotel and they fell in love with it too. I definitely can't wait to return.

    5
« Great price for what you get »

Make sure you book a room thats in the building across the street. This hotel has a building on the ocean and a building across street. The rooms on the ocean are bigger, they have full kitchens and an ocean view. Awesome sauce

Very Very Bad Room and service. Cleaners do not know what to clean and what not to. Bad customer service, AC located at wrong place, you cannot change the direction of the cool air coming out. it feels like now one wants to help, and every one looks at you why are you asking this. Do not stay there

Room was nothing like they show in the pictures. It was a little bigger than a broom closet. First day there stepped out of shower dried off walked 10 steps bottom of my feet we're fithly, the sheets we're tore, brought fresh towels but didn't clean the room at all. Only upside was could walk across the road to beach.

    « nice hotel »

We stayed here for a week long vacation on the beach front side. Nice hotel, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The king suite with sleeper couch suited our needs very well. Beautiful views of the ocean from the balcony. They give a free buffet breakfast but it is always crowded, we ended up going out every morning in town.

« Great pet-friendly hotel right by ocean »

We stayed here for a week and brought our dog along. The pet-friendly house is right near the main hotel building about a thirty-second walk away. There is a lady who lives upstairs (a regular Myrtle Beach resident), and Best Western rents the bottom floor to guests who have pets. Our dog was happy here, and we were too. The king-size bed was huge, and the pull-out bed was also enough for the two other people who came along with us. We loved the kitchen and cooked food there for two nights. The location is awesome; the Wal-Mart (with food) is also about a thirty-second walk away, and the ocean was only a five-minute walk. The staff was nice and made sure we and the dog were comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is to have water bottles in the rooms for guests and to have a bigger breakfast space. We waited one morning for almost 25 min to get breakfast. Also, one morning I called the front desk, and no one answered after several times calling. Overall though, we felt right at home. The little house we stayed in was cute and convenient to many things like mini golf, restaurants, etc.

« This Negative Review is only for my stay... »

Unfortunately, I have to assign the minimum trade union because I can not afford it. I stayed for a night, and I assumed it was the problem. I reserved several months before, yet what received was not in the expectation. They gave me a room on the ground floor right next to the cleaning depot. So it's impossible not to be disturbed, as early as you get older, housekeepers do a great job and do not have the slightest respect. In the evening, as the rules of the Hotel say good, there should be quiet from 23.00, but even after midnight, several people were in the pool and in the car park to make an exaggerated noise. The management of the Hotel seemed to be impassive. Quite clean and small room. Breakfast offer fairly poor. The price paid for this service is disproportionate. Absurd. In addition, they paid a deposit well in advance and do not even recognize the Best Western Rewards system. For my part I would not recommend it to anyone, but I repeat, it was my negative experience.

« Decent place for a quick stay. »

This is a nice older, smaller hotel. It was in reasonable upkeep for the age, and the people were nice. Loved the free breakfast, (best part of this place). I got our room for two nights on a last minute sight and payed a third the original price. Figured I'd call to see if they'd give me a better deal to cut out the middleman. Was told they had two rooms remaining, both oceanfront, at a cost of three times the site quote. Told lady on the phone what price was and she said I'd better book it because they couldn't, (or wouldn't) match such a low price. Upon check in suddenly they had an abundance of non ocean front rooms available. I'd assume they try to book you into a more expensive room. Just an assumption though. The room was clean, though smelled of bleach, guess that's a good thing. The outdoor pool was nice and not too terribly busy, but the lazy river was tiny, like it was added just so they can boast they have one. Overall it wasn't a terrible place for a quick stay but I wouldn't make it a destination. They have a larger property with maybe a hundred rooms across from the ocean and a smaller property with several oceanfront rooms and an indoor pool which we didn't visit. Not a bad place just dated. Definitely wouldn't pay the asking price.

    « Disappointed »

I'm not exactly sure how this hotel is considered a Best Western Plus. The motel is old and dingy with just the logo slapped on. 2-3 times the price for the experience available across the street at the $59 motel. Fridge was uneven and shakes, facet leaked everywhere, balcony filthy and at one point we cleaned it ourselves. The bathtub area is a poorly fit bath fitter. Only decaf coffee, shampoo and lotion given in my room. Check in was pleasant but that was all. Breakfast was well stocked but over crowded and too short of a time frame. Housekeeping is a major issue and doesn't look like there is a resolution since we complained twice and nothing was done. For the price you can have your pick anywhere else. As for the pool, it had a huge teach floating around.

    « beware of billing »

I made my reservations over the phone the week before. I talked to a lady with a heavy accent. not really sure if she was local or not. stayed my two nights in the room. the room was clean, nice, and was at a good location to the beach. when i checked out I had a question about billing. I was over charged from what i was told on the phone. the receptionist just told me it was a high demand date "Monday" that is why it went up. no help whatsoever. Nice place but billing issues ruined it for me.

    « Excellent Choice »

The rooms were nice and clean. Bathroom clean. Staff were nice. Breakfast was great. Main location across the street from the beach was not a bad walk. Loved it. Will stay here again. The bed was so soft and comfortable. Parking was easy and close to the resort.

    « Overall good experience. »

Good stay and good price. First time visiting Myrtle Beach but definitely won't be my last. Great location close but away from the busy boardwalk. Wal-Mart is located right behind the hotel and beach access right in front. The outdoor pool and lazy river were nice to dip into after or before tome spent at the beach. The room was a little worn but very clean. From my experience typical though for a nice inexpensive beach hotel. We had a kitchenette which was supplied with almost everything we needed to cook a small meal. Breakfast was great but expect long lined if you don't go early but moved through quickly. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Overall good experience and would consider staying in the future.

    « Good space »

The hotel was pretty cool, spacious, located in the center of everything. Bed was great, loved that it had a kitchen with dishes! Only thing I would improve about the room/hotel would be better housekeeping! The housekeeping needs to be a little more thorough

    4
« Good price for the quality! »

The room was rather small, but the price was decent! The hotel was less than 3 minutes walking distance from the beach. The continental breakfast was great! Staff was nice and super helpful! Great stay!

Had to wait a bit for my room to be ready but once I got to the room it was very clean. Staff was friendly. Complimentary breakfast was good. Would recommend to others. Hotel was just across the road from the ocean front beaches. Within easy walking distance to the board walk.

« Best Western at south end of myrtle beach July 8-10, 2017 »

Small attractive hotel with a pool and lazy river. We stayed in room 1308 which has a great 3rd floor view of the pool area. Pool is open till midnight and they play music through the speakers. Although located across the street from the beach, it's a very short walk and you can actually see part of the ocean since their is no structure built directly across the street. It's a 15 minute walk to the amusement park just north of the hotel. You'll have to drive to the boardwalk area (skywheel) which definitely has more people and bars if you're looking for that. Their is a new neighborhood market Walmart almost directly behind the hotel which is awesome for getting gas, food, drinks, etc. Yes, they sell beer and wine coolers. We ate at Friendly's which had good hamburger/ice cream combos and Victoria's which has cheap southern cooking with daily specials Monday through Friday.

Excellent hotel, for the money. The rooms are clean. Staff is very professional. They provide a very nice breakfast, which includes a lot of choices. It also changes from day to day. It also saves time and $$$, rather than going out for breakfast. Proximity to the ocean is a very short walk. We've stayed here a few times, and we've never been disappointed.

    « 4th of July Vacation »

We booked this hotel 2 weeks out from the 4th. We're a family of 6 and needed a suite. There was not a lot of availability at time of booking. This hotel is old, but is clean for the most part. Our room had a slow drain in the bathroom sink, very low water pressure for the shower and all the beds were old with springs you could feel...my back was aching...however, the pillows were nice. There is constant noise from the swimming pools and the street in front of the hotel, but I've learned to sleep with earplugs and always bring them!! Housekeeping finally showed up around 5pm for two days, our last day, they never made it to our room! It was nice being able to walk across the street to the beach. Most of the attractions were to far to walk to, so we had to pay for parking. We did luck out with free public parking a few times which was surprising being a holiday weekend. Overall, Myrtle Beach is a fun place to visit!!

    « Great Stay »

Stayed here recently for just one night. Really enjoyed the outdoor pool - it's rare to find a hotel pool that is this big and 9' deep. Kids liked the (small) lazy river as well. Our room was big - two bedrooms separated by a kitchenette, and two bathrooms! Would have liked some carpet - the tile floor made your feet feel sandy and damp all the time. Breakfast was very good, although crowded.

    « Very nice stay. »

We had the beach view. The room was 5 star. Clean up to date. First time staying at BW. Wasn't disappointed. The beach was only 200 feet away. The only bad thing is that the outdoor pool was to small for the amount off rooms for the property. Buy who goes to the beach to swim in a pool.

    « Updated for the 21st Century »

For a renovated 2-story motel, this may be as good as it gets. Tasteful updates included walk-in shower, bathroom with waterfall faucets, new furniture, and even USB ports -- literally everything is new. While pricey on a late-June weekend, the hotel delivers on great accommodations, spacious rooms, nice pool and an impressive morning breakfast. It also has a small gym and computers with printer as needed.

    4
    « Clean and comfortable »

After we booked the room, we will notified of an additional 18% fee that was not originally included. We were notified by bookkeeping.com the day after we could not cancel the room (without paying full price).

    « 2 night stay »

Overall experience was ok. I was not happy at all to pay $400 for a 2 night stay. Chair in room had a stain on the seat. Bed had a dip in the middle. Breakfast could be better if they had real eggs & sausage. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained.

Did not like the location at all, when we arrived the room wasn't ready , when we came back to check in as we entered our room a worker just walked in to bring us some towels, than we get a knock at the door , they had forgot to vacuum the room. Terrible location, the noisiest hotel I ever stayed at.

« Great Place- Honest Review »

My wife and I stayed 1 night. The hotel is "Ok". The room was clean. I never felt dirty and there was no bugs. The pillows were comfy. The hotel is right across the street from the beach. The hotel does offer beach front rooms. The hotel does offer a free breakfast which was good. They had waffles, cereal, fruit, biscuits & gravy, eggs, bacon, ect... Be prepared for a long line for breakfast unless you go early in the morning. The hotel does not allow you to take the breakfast back to the room. The dinning room is basically the lobby and is somewhat small, but there was places to eat outside with tables and chairs. The hotel is about 7 minutes from the sky wheel and the myrtle beach strip. Overall it was an "Ok" place to stay. It was clean and the breakfast was good. The only complaint I had was the hot tub at the outdoor pool looked disgusting and the lazy river had a lot of debris floating in it. There is a small Chinese restaurant about 2 blocks away called E noodles. I would highly recommend it. it was cheap and really good. Overall I would stay again for a couple nights.

    2
« Not worth the money »

The view was spectacular, but the smell of wet stagnant carpet in the hallway seeped into our room and created a funk that negated the beauty of the oceanfront view. The toilet in the bathroom constantly ran, and the freezer sounded like it could use some love and affection from the maintenance staff. The hotel was pretty run down considering the price we paid for the room. Not the greatest experience.

    5
    « Back Again »

Second time staying at this location and I will return when I am in the area. The staff is awesome. Especially Betty and Reggie who were always helpful and friendly. Really nice place. I was in town for business and they took that in consideration when they chose my room.

I needed to book a room at the last minute to visit with my son from New York who was in Myrtle Beach -- on a Friday night!! « Best place to stay hands downs! Let me tell you why.. »

We booked a Mon-Sun stay here and rented the oceanfront room plus (rooms), and the room was perfect for just the two of us! Lisa and the staff were absolutely wonderful! She was so helpful to my boyfriend with his proposal to me and any questions we had! The location is the best as well, far enough away from the noise but close enough to walk to any shops and places to eat. We loved this location and hotel, thanks Best Western staff!!

    « Below Average Hotel »

This was my first time staying at a Best Western and also my first time in Myrtle Beach. To begin with, upon booking our vacation, we were unfamiliar that it was Atlantic Bike Week, also referred to as Black Bike Week. As a disclaimer, noise doesn't bother me. Parties never bother me. I am young and don't mind people having a good time on their vacation. After reading many reviews, good and bad regarding this particular week, I was not too concerned because we were not traveling with children. We didn't expect utter silence. We understood that it would be noisy with people partying and having a good time. The noise, by far, exceeded my expectations. The motorcycles are revving up as loud as they could go in the parking lot and on the streets at 3-4:00 a.m. If you are looking to stay on Memorial Day Weekend, also known as Black Bike Week, consider an ocean front room instead. I imagine it was less noisy on that side. The breakfast served each morning was less than desirable. The variety is poor. We stayed four nights and ate breakfast there three mornings. Two of the three days had the same selection of items. The third day they swapped out biscuits and gravy for under cooked potatoes. The eggs were under cooked each morning. I was actually ill from something I ate there each morning. Which led us to choose a restaurant for breakfast on our final day. The cleanliness of the room was less than average. To be honest, I've stayed in worse, but for the price I paid, I really expected more. There is no deep cleaning done to these rooms. I saw some mention of potential bed bugs in the reviews but did not notice any myself. There are a lot of bugs in the area, in general, and I think they find their way into the rooms. We definitely got a few throughout the duration of the time spent at this hotel. The pool is alright. We enjoyed the lazy river and the hot tub. We did not use the indoor pool but we did scope it out. Definitely not anything to rave about. The outdoor pool looks nicer. Two of the three buildings have elevators. Be sure to notify the staff prior to check-in if you need an elevator. We stayed in the one building that did not have an elevator. The front desk staff did offer to help us with our luggage, if needed, but we were able to get it up the stairs ourselves. The staff were mostly friendly throughout our stay. We did have to ask for towels for two days, as they were not replenished on our first request. The second request did result in quick service. The towels were left on the kitchenette table. I had left a wad of money on the table, not realizing that there would be anybody in our room for the quick minute we were gone to the office. The money was left untouched, which left me very relieved. I was quite upset on the last day, as the staff were not willing to accommodate us with a late checkout. Checkout is at 11:00 a.m. Our flight did not leave until about 5:30 p.m. I had hoped to check out mid afternoon. Each day we were there, the housekeepers were present and cleaning until at least 4-5:00 p.m. So, it didn't seem like a huge request to allow us to stay a while, even if we needed to pay a small fee. I've stayed in countless hotels all over the country and have never been denied a late checkout, especially when I had a later flight out. I called multiple days before our check out to inquire about a late checkout. We were told we had to wait until the morning of checkout to inquire. The morning of, the staff indicated we could stay until 11:30 a.m. Which kind of ruined our beach plans for the last day. We didn't want to get on our flight soaked and gross from the beach. The shower rooms they offered at the beach front location were absolutely disgusting. So, instead, we walked around aimlessly until it was time to go. What a waste of a day. Luckily, the front desk was willing to keep our luggage so we didn't have to drag it around with us. I guess that earns them a few points. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to friends. I don't feel that the staff are overly accommodating. I usually stay at Hilton properties and will go back to Hilton properties if I ever visit again.

    « Quick Beach Trip »

I think the fitness area needs some updating. The pool needs to make sure the bugs are continuously removed from it. Also, the maid could have cleaned a little better. Other than that the breakfast was decent, location was great, staff were nice, very convenient to the beach and walmart. The bed was comfortable and having the kitchen helped a great deal.

« Could not have asked for a better stay »

I checked into the Best Western Grand Strand Inn on May 13 and stayed through May 21 on a business trip while working during the Bike Week Rally. First of all, let me say I was overwhelmed at the kindness and helpfulness of the entire staff during my stay. I actually felt more like family. A special thanks goes out to Michael, who always had fresh coffee available since my mornings generally started anywhere from 4:30 am to 5:00 am. I enjoyed the early morning visits with Michael and he always was cheerful and very helpful also to the morning breakfast staff. I was very impressed, and the Best Western is indeed lucky to have him as a team member! Tish, also was a very helpful person, especially during my check in as she handled my unusual circumstances so very well. ( I was checking in for two rooms and the person whose name was in the reservation was not present). She was a very pleasant lady and again, deserving of praise for how she treated her guests. Robert, the groundskeeper also went out of his way to assure I had a place to park my trailer, and was a friend from day 1. I cannot begin to list all of the people who worked here at this BW. But, let me tell you, everyone I came into contact with left me with the impression that these folks really go out of their way to help and offer all they can for their guests. This is certainly a very rare case it seems anymore, but not here at the Best Western. Jack, the owner, should be proud of what he has there, because believe me, it was not unnoticed. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor, and stay here. You will be impressed , I assure you. I can't wait till the Fall when I will again be in Myrtle Beach for the Bike Rally and this is where I will stay!

    « A Perfect Spot »

Interesting story here. The person in our group who booked the 3 bedroom cottage here at The Grand Strand Inn made an error. The booking was mistakenly made for a week hence. Management was fantastic. The manager checked things out and noticed that there would be a 3 bed large room in the main building possibly available in a few hours. He phoned us an hour or so later to confirm a room that we could stay inn. I thought this was really above and beyond the call of duty and we were very appreciative. I agree with so many others that this is the place to stay.

Took a quick girls trip and choose Best Western because of the price. It was bikers rally so we had to pay 100 dollars per person but we paid in cash so we got it back two days later at checkout. The room was clean and decorated nicely. We had a 1 bedroom apt with a full kitchen. It came with three beds which I couldn't find anywhere else for the price we paid. The indoor pool and spa was nice. It rained so we didn't use the lazy river nor the outdoor pool. Service was prompt and the staff was very friendly. I would stay here again.

    « Should be better »

I felt a need to inform regarding my stay at your hotel. Let me say the staff I dealt with was friendly and accommodating, even accommodating me with a late check out at noon. But I shouldn't have had to have so much interaction if there weren't issues. Upon checking into a cottage that had two full bathrooms, there was two towels and two bath mats. I need to ask for 3 full sets of towels since there were three of us staying in the cottage. The garbage disposal wasn't working, nor was the water/ice dispenser on the refrigerator. The only pans were a small sauce pan and a large sauce pan. I had to ask for a fry pan. The keys we were given did not open both doors of the cottage. A lock needed to be replaced. No sheets not blankets were provided fir the sofa bed. There was a hole in the wall. There was hair in the bathroom sink when we checked in. The coffee supplied didn't fit the coffee maker. These issues were resolved but I feel like it's bad business. I felt like all I was doing was complaining and bothering them with issue after issue.

    « Clean »

We stayed in a non ocean view suite across the street from the beach. When It said non ocean view, it must have meant no view of anything. Our balcony was on an interior hallway. There are maybe 3 rooms with this kind of issue. The king bed room was a little on the small side but very clean. However the cleaner used had a very strong and unpleasant odor. Our room was on the back side on the corner of a very busy side street. I had to leave the TV on during the weekend to drown out the sound of traffic Housekeeping came at various hours of the morning. We only had the room cleaned once during our 5 day stay. The housekeeper took all the dirty towels but didn't leave any clean ones. After asking for towels to be replaced to 3 different staff, we finally got them. Our building had a "heated" outdoor pool, hot tub and lazy river. We also had access to the pool and hot tub in the beach access building as well, but they were nowhere near as clean as the outdoor pools. Pool towels are available at the front desk but must be returned to the same place, which I found odd. A breakfast buffet was served daily. A variety of items were offered: French toast and biscuits with gravy alternated with pancakes throughout the week. Scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, grits, pastries, bagels, bread, and waffles. Multiple toppings for waffles, eggs and grits. Light and dark roast coffee along with decaf. Orange and apples juices as well. On the weekend the breakfast area is very crowded and there may be some wait for an open table. You cannot take food back to your room. Express check out is also available. Aside from the misrepresented balcony, waiting on towels and "old man" smelling cleaner, this is still the nicest hotel I've stayed in at myrtle beach for the price point. For less than $100 a night and daily breakfast you can't beat this place.

    « Reasonable hotel »

We chose this hotel because it is close to the beach and we wanted somewhere to chill out after 2 weeks on the road. The hotel is somewhat dated but clean and has a good pool (inside & out) although the outdoor pool is close to the road and footpaths. The room service was not as should be, we had to call to reception to get cups for the coffee machine on 2 days and the toiletries were not topped up 2 days. The balcony was never cleaned before or whilst we were there as there was some rubbish there when we arrived and still there when we left. There was no iron in the room although there was an ironing board. I think that quality control was lacking and there should be no excuse for it. The thing we found strange was the lack of places to eat at this end of Myrtle Beach. There are loads of hotels/motels along the road and we only found 2 places worth eating at and they were about 10 blocks away form the hotel. If you wanted to have a drink with your meal you had to walk or take the car and not have a drink.

« Great stay at Best Western Grand Strand »

My wife and I needed to get away given the long winter in Southern Ontario. Myrtle Beach was warm and sunny the whole time we were there. We shopped, we ate at some interesting restaurants, but most of all my wife and I soaked up the sun and relaxed on the beach. I enjoyed this trip better than our last trip to Florida last year.

    « Great for families »

Spacious rooms and a good location make this an ideal place to stay for families. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is better than most other hotels with a different variety of items daily. The breakfast is small and does get crowded but there are tables outside also. If you have little ones that are crawling, the carpets are not the best but overall we will stay again.

Everything is available with great beach access. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly, and this place is amazing! And the beach access is great in a good section of Myrtle Beach not far from anything.

    « Absolutely Blown Away »

This place is an absolute jewel. The room decor is astounding, the beds were wonderful, I loved there was an indoor and outdoor pool (though, I'm not sure why the outdoor is heated and the indoor is not), breakfast was great and the location is amazing. Even if you're not brand loyal, this place is a must stay.

« This hotel had everything I needed »

I picked this hotel for the following reasons: lazy river, late pool hours, near the ocean, free easy parking, included breakfast. Everything I needed for an overnight getaway with a child. The staff was very helpful with directions to my destination and the few minor problems I had. The breakfast was far better than expected. My kid loved the fresh made waffles and the lazy river. The hotel is older, yet well kept.

    « I would stAy again »

We had a weird odor that lingered In the room and only had housekeeping one of the four nights that we were there. Other than that the cleanliness and the kindness of the staff was awesome! The lady at check in was so kind and highlighted on the map exactly where we were and where we could park for free!

    « Didn't get past the receptionist »

I just called the Best Western Grand Strand to ask about a quick stay while I watched my son play lacrosse. I explained to the receptionist that I like to feed the boys after the game. I asked if there was a place we could gather. The response was No. After a pause, she said "We have no meeting rooms, sorry." Sadly, her lack of interest in trying to accommodate me lost them my business as well as a few other parents coming to watch their boy play. I've had these dinners all over the Southeast with not one complaint from any hotel. Any time I have called other hotels in other cities, I've been met with curiosity and a willingness to figure out how to make it work. These dinners or lunches last about 1 hour. I'm so disappointed in the lack of customer service. My tip is to train your staff to be interested, ask a few questions, and then make a decision rather than an immediate NO.

« Hotel with great people »

I had a king room efficiency. I could see the ocean from my bed. The room was large and comfortable, nice little balcony. The hotel is a little dated and I needed maintenance but they came quickly and were so nice. The outdoor pool was great. Breakfast was very good. Enjoyed my visit.

« Great location, friendly staff. »

Loved being able to walk to the ocean. Staff was friendly and caring. Breakfast was delicious. Room was great with a view of the ocean. Room bedding, towels, and kitchenette nice and clean. Room floors needed additional cleaning. Pool was nice. Hot tubs needed additional cleaning. Great overall experience. Would definitely stay there again.

    « DISGUSTING! RAN-DOWN! DIRTY! »

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I am so upset that this Best Western Hotel was such a disappointment! It is dirty, SO DIRTY, run down extremely bad. Needs a total remodel. We just sat in the room when we first got there in shock. We should have gone straight back to the hotel across the street caddy corner, where we checked in. Since we were only going to be there 2 nights, we just decided to get through it.....since they had already charged us for the 1st. night. Just thought it was easier to just put up with it and enjoy the beach. It is missing paint all over the whole place, even the pool area. Dirt is in every corner, everywhere! Worn out carpet through the whole building. The maid was sitting on the floor in the hallway folding towels in a garbage bag one morning! Kids from the cheap hotel next door were sneaking into our indoor pool. We couldn't believe how dirty our bathroom floor was. There is a little balcony, which is great, but the little table was so filthy with other people's stains we didn't dare sit anything on it! We felt so dirty and disgusted, couldn't wait to get out of there and on with the rest of our vacation. If it wasn't for wanting to spend time on the beach, we couldn't have made it through. It does sit right on the beach like it says. There looked like there was supposed to be a hose on the outside for washing things off, hose was missing! If you have hard time walking, the hotel for breakfast across the street is a good little walk. Very hard for my husband who walks with a cane. Keep that in mind. The hotel next door is a cheap hotel (didn't know that, mine wasn't!) and there was a lot of noise until the wee hours of the morning. It was just a horrible situation. I will be fair and mention a few good things: breakfast was very nice (caddy corner across the street), the beds and pillows are comfortable (except for the stains on the sheets). That's all I can say that was good. Go somewhere else! You will be happy you did !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very good location, good breakfast but pillows very uncomfortable. Replenishing of coffee didnt happen and towels for all never provided, we always had to go to front desk. Cleanliness of room was not ideal.

    « Hotel has a SCAM going »

I cannot tell you how the hotel is because they would not let me check in. When booking the hotel I went onto Best Westerns main website (Not directly to this hotels website)After entering in dates and place I opened the link to the hotel (again different from the Hotels direct website). There is a section that tells you about this hotel and lists all of the things the hotel offers. There is a plus sign to see more but most people would not click this plus sign if they do not care to see the additional amenities. There is a box at the bottom that says Hotel Policies and this says no pets. In the hotel amenities section hidden in the section that comes up after hitting the plus sign there is a section that says Management reserves the right to refuse to provide accommodations to persons less than the age of 21 unless accompanied by a parent. Proof of legal age MAY be required at check in. Again this was hidden and not implying it is definite but at managements discretion. I did not see this when booking my room. If you go to the hotels main website directly it does say Must be 21 years or older in order to reserve and occupy a room and ID for all guests is required which is a more definitive but this is not the website the main Best Western web page directs you to and even this is not in bold like the rest of the benefits of the hotel and in the fine print at the bottom. After traveling 4 hours to Myrtle Beach I was told that I could not check in. I was with my boyfriend who is 21 and I will be 21 in 5 weeks. The woman at the front desk was not only rude but left us totally stranded at 10:00 at night with no where to stay and they refuse to give us our money back. My parents called and said they would be held fully responsible but they did not care. It was not that I was trying to come to the hotel with a group of kids. The website should ask your age or birthdate when booking and prevent you from booking or at that point highlight the hotels policy. As previous people complained about on here this hotel does not use common sense and basically scammed me out of money. I am hoping they will do the right thing by refunding my money but at this time it does not look likely. Best Western is off of my list of hotels I will ever consider staying in during any of my future travels unless this matter is resolved. The corporate office is looking into this for me.

« Nice and served the purpose »

The Grand Strand appears to be a constant row of hotels/motels. Our room was nice and right on the beach. Sunrises and moon over the ocean were very pretty. I was told many rooms in the building on the beach are different. Ours was a 2-bed with kitchenette, table and 3 chairs, and balcony with 2 rocking chairs and small table. Hotel breakfast was across the street, but we just got the to-go bags (small water bottle, granola bar, danish and either apple or banana since we were on the go! Daughter and granddaughter liked the easy access to the beach and indoor pool in our building. Unless we missed something, had to drive to restaurants for dinner (good places all over)! I would stay there again for a beach-front room!

« It was awful i will never give Best Western my business again »

The front desk told us we would have a three bedroom two king beds and two queen beds in a room we arrive there with only one queen bed..we called the front desk they hung up on us. We walked to the front desk they told us they would give us our money back and we could leave. I told them we was on vacation we can't just leave they was so rude know customer service never tried to accommodate us. We stayed we had know choice the toilet was broke the ceiling fan didn't work the stove broke apart terrible experience not enough bathrooms ...

    « Awesome as always »

Hands down this is the best place to stay. I'm never disappointed. The owner is always renovating something to keep the property top notch. As for the employees, I couldn't dream of any better. I thoroughly enjoy myself every time I visit.

    « So So »

The room looks much nicer in the photos than in person. Looks like premium linens, but white sheets cover a cheap blanket to make the affect. Carpet was very old in our suite, left my socks black. Very small for what we thought we were getting. Left over things in the fridge, not especially clean. Great location. We thought price was good for location (across from beach) until we were actually there and you get what you pay for. Breakfast was OK. Did have some Gluten Free items labeled for my son and myself which was a nice choice. We are used to Hilton properties and this was nowhere close but we needed a suite and this is what we found. Very noisy (except back bedroom has window air unit in the wall that drowned out most noise. Would not go back but something to think about for those on a budget.

    « Fell below expectations »

When we first arrived to mrytle beach we had booked for 2 nights. There was 2 adults and 4 children. Room was ok, stove and fridge was a nice addition but needed upgraded. Refrigeratorkept makingnoises throughout night and oven burnt our pizza. Hotel had free breakfast which was a plus and helped save on a meal which gets expensive eating out with 6 people. Breakfast at the hotel was way better than the waffle house we had eaten the previous morning. The hotel was across the street from the beach which was another perk. We checked out Wednesday morning and did a few more attractions that we wanted to do and realized we needed to stay one more night to see all the things we had on our small check list. We went back to the same hotel since we were familiar with it and got another room. This time we had a different room. As soon as we walked in it had a fish smell to it. Once we got the kids situated they past out in no tI'm since we got in pretty late. We ttied to turn the air on and cool the room off but the smell got worse. The floor was sticky walking acrossed it, my boyfriend took a shower and put the towel on the floor so he wouldn't touch the floor and when he picked it up it was black. We got up early the next morning to check out and I told the receptionist abut the problem and she said "I'm sorry" and "why didn't you call us we would have sent someone to look at it". I explained that we had gotten in late and the kids were asleep and she did not seem to understand that and said "I'm sorry". And reassurred me that it would get looked into.... yeah right. If the room was cleaned like it should have been then the smell of fish would have been caught and the floors wouldn't have been so filthy. If your a parent and you know your kids are exhausted from a long day while on vacation and they pass out the last thing your going to do is call to get a new room and move all your belongings and sleepy kids over to a new room. Also another con, there was no parking next to your room. Next time I will do more homework on hotels or cringe and spend a little more money on a nicer hotel.

    « Would stay again »

I had a good stay at this hotel. The breakfast was on point! meaning good! The rooms were good and they had dishes already in the cabinets. The lights in between the two beds did not work, but that is probably a separate issue....The in door pool was nice, the hot tub however had too much bleach in it :/ The rooms were also kind-of small, but it was only 2 of us in a 4 person room. Overall good stay, good staff esp. night time staff. I would stay again.

I have stayed at the Best Western in MB many times and I love it. Very nice hotel! I wake up to coffee and a full breakfast and I so appreciate the effort they put into it. Every single time! I love the rooms and I actually sleep better than I do at home. It prompted me to buy a new mattress so that I can have that more often : )

I stayed here for a month while my apartment was being repaired, and I was happy with every aspect of my stay. My room was clean and comfortable and included a comfy chair with ottoman, a desk, and a kitchen. It was like a studio apartment across from the ocean. The front desk staff and the owner himself all have a great, helpful attitude. I plan to stay at Best Western's in the future.

    « Handicapped accessible? »

We stayed in one of the ocean view rooms and the view from our room was fantastic!! The walk to get to the building has pieces of tile missing making it very hard to maneuver with a walker or wheelchair. The roll in shower would have been great if the shower curtain fit...we had water everywhere! There was no place in the bathroom for a person in a wheelchair to put their toiletries and the towel bars were no where near the sink. To top it off we told housekeeper that we were out of toilet paper. She said she had none on her cart and would have to go get some. She didn't come back for 2 hours and that was only after I called the front desk about it!!

« We look forward all year to the month of October to stay at our second home. »

My husband and I stay for the entire month of October every year..because we just love it.. our view, our room and the staff. The weather is perfect and it is not crowded. Our friends that told us of this find also stay for the entire month of October.. We sit on the beach and read and eat fresh seafood daily..and never tire of this wonderful hotel.

    « Clean room »

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here In the last year. Both times, the rooms have been clean and staff very friendly and courteous. We were in the non beach side of the complex, as we were in the area for a softball tournament, not to see the beach. Breakfast was ok, but the area was very small to accommodate a lot of people. It was a very busy weekend. The parking was tricky as most was beside or behind the building. More lighting is those parking areas would be a plus at night.

« Great hotel and wonderful staff! »

Location: Love the location! Central to Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas. Just a short zip to the popular Market Commons area as well. We actually stayed in one of the apartments on property and we loved it. Short walk to the pool, lazy river, indoor heated pool, lobby for breakfast or the beach. They also have a building right on the ocean front if you prefer to be right on the beach. Apartment: Spacious and roomy! It was a home away from home which provided 2 full baths, a comfy king bed, pull out couch, nice flat screen tv's, a full kitchen and a washer/dryer so I wasn't coming home with lots of laundry to do. Everything was updated with tiled showers, etc. Staff: The staff was so pleasant and friendly. Miss Linda was such a big help in checking in and helping us when we locked ourselves out. Always service with a smile! Amanda was very accommodating as well making sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely pick Best Western Plus Grand Strand Inn & Suites as our #1 place to stay. Clean, professional and family friendly!

We have stayed her many times over the years and each year they seem to get better. Impressive front office staff, great breakfast knock, super rooms with ocean view, ample secure parking, helpful service staff, very clean, lots of room amenities, reasonable rates. Can't go wrong.

    « Ocean view blocked »

This is exactly what you've come to expect from a Best Western Plus except for a few things. First, and most oddly the hotel has two buildings - across the street from each other. This wasn't a problem, but I'd have hated to have to walk across the street for breakfast if it had been raining. Secondly, if you want an ocean view make sure you have a room ABOVE the third floor. They planted palm trees in front of the hotel. It makes a perfect screen between the ocean and the balconies of the "ocean view" rooms (very bad if you actually want to see the ocean). On the third floor you can see if you're standing, but if you sit in the provided rocking chair you loose your view. And lastly, low shower head. My 6'2" husband had to bend over to wash his hair.

« Wonderful visit to a beautiful hotel. »

I had an oceanfront efficiency that was super clean and beautiful. I had a large room with a cool bathroom, nice bedding. Big refrigerator, stove, and microwave. Everything was so clean, even the outside corridor. The view from the sliding glass door was awesome. It looked out on a balcony with rockers. Plenty of lounge chairs that faced the beach. I loved it. No problem with parking. Check in and check out was handled with the best customer service. I will definitely stay here again in the next few months.

    « Unethical »

Our room had a disgusting odour of rotten fish. When brought to the attention of the management, staff made an effort to track it down. At our great inconvenience, we were forced to re-locate, the smell was so overpowering. Our afternoon and evening were ruined. Our clothing, no doubt, would retain this odour. No apologies. When ask if we could be compensated for the substandard conditions, we were very rudely rebuffed by management. When I mentioned the word "Tripadvisor", I encountered an angry and threatening response. He told me to leave the hotel immediately. Now I ask you, how accurate are the Tripadvisor ratings, if the management threatens you over a negative review?

    « Lovely weekend stay! »

We had a lovely weekend at the BWPGSIS this weekend. We stayed in a two bedroom queen suite for a great price. The suite was entirely clean, attractive, and well equipped for cooking/housekeeping. Though the hotel was full over the weekend, it was surprisingly quiet. The "continental" breakfast was extremely generous, varied, plentiful, and tasty, with many hot and cold offerings. The pools were nice and clean as well. And finally, the desk staff was friendly, kind, and accommodating, allowing us a later check-out by an hour. Thank you, Best Western Myrtle Beach staff for a very nice visit!

« Not the place to stay at Myrtle Beach! »

We were greeted at check in by a very rude, unprofessional, unfriendly clerk upon checkin AND OUR 3-DAY STAY ONLY GOT WORSE FROM THERE! I wouldn't recommend this Best Western to anyone - especially a friend! I've stayed at many Best Westerns and am a member, but I have never encountered one this bad!

    « Never coming back. »

Not one of the employees we encountered were helpful or nice, they were quite rude. Our room floor was disgusting. The first night we were there I walked on the bare floor with no shoes and the bottoms of my feet were black by the time I went to bed. There were hairs (not ours) all over the floor and it was not cleaned up after "housekeeping" came. It was also EXTREMELY overpriced for what we got. We will never be recommending this hotel or coming back.

Awesome facility. Well worth the trip. All services were above and beyond what we expected. Excellent services provided. Breakfast foods and services were the best that we have received in our travels. We frequently have to rely on hotels and resorts for business and family trips. Best Western best by far.

« Great Location, Hotel and Staff »

GREAT HOTEL! The hotel looks average from the outside but the inside is beautifully decorated, very clean and friendly staff. The nine foot deep pool and lazy river style pool along with the hot tub is immaculately clean. The breakfast included eggs, bacon, ham, fruit, yogurt, waffles, bagels, juice, coffee, and milk. We have paid more for a hotel in the same area for less amenities in the past and we were quite disappointed. We have NEVER had a bad experience with this hotel!

We found this hotel at the last minute. Had a very nice room in the building on the ocean front. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Breakfast was good, the breakfast room is small. All staff members are very courteous and helpful. This hotel is also far enough down that you are away from most of the noise of ocean Blvd - at least during October.

« Great, pet friendly hotel! »

I arrived in Myrtle Beach two days after Hurricane Matthew hit. The original hotel I had reservations with had originally said they would be open but after driving 1100+ miles, I find out they were closed and my reservation was cancelled. I had my 3 small chihuahuas with me and a pet friendly hotel in MB is not easy to come by. By chance, I called Best Western and they offer ONE pet friendly room and it was available. It is NOT an ocean front room but the room made up for it and was very nice. It was one block from the ocean and was a full size apartment. Living room, dining room, large bedroom with king bed, two full bathrooms. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, cookware, dishwasher, stove, microwave and full size fridge. Also has a full size stackable washer/dryer in the apartment. Bedroom had two clothes closets and also a pantry style closet. It was the entire bottom floor of a beach cottage and there were two smaller apartments upstairs. Room was spotless, showed no signs of previous animals or animal smells. Kudos to the great housekeeping dept! They have an indoor pool/ hot tub and I noticed a laundry mat style washer/dryer by the pool area for those without the in-suite washer/dryer. Also has an outdoor pool & lazy river. We didn't use it but it looked clean and well maintained. Dealt with front desk clerk, Reggie, on several occasions and he was great and helpful. Also met the owner when we were standing outside the apartment, he was driving by and stopped and asked how we liked the place and if we were enjoying our stay. Very nice gesture. If you are looking for a pet friendly room and don't mind having a 2 minute walk to the beach, this is your place. You won't be disappointed.

« What a way to do business! »

We arrived in Myrtle Beach the day after Hurricane Matthew passed. Our hotel did not have electricity nor did a lot of the Grand Strand. When I stay @ a Best Western I always stay a @ a B-W Plus because they have a higher standard. With no place to stay we stumbled upon this hotel. The vacancy light was on so I went in. They offered me a choice of rooms at a fair price and allowed me to take possession of the room right then..(11:00am) without asking to even do so. The owner was there working and accessing the damage and had such a great attitude as did his staff. (american owned and operated) The hot breakfast they offer (included) is the best I have ever had! I am trying to proclaim this a 5 star hotel but they do a great job and you just get the feeling that they truly do appreciate your business!

    « Great for a reasonable price »

The hotel was really nice, the room was big and well equipped. We stayed in the building directly at the beach. The service was good. The breakfast buffet was well equipped and the tables were cleaned quickly. Breakfast is in thr main building over the street, but it was no bother (should be considered if you plan to stay in winter- is there that thing in MB?). All in all great value for the price.

« Exceptional Staff and never disappointed with the rooms. »

I have stayed at this property multiple times and not once was disappointed. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. I don't think that a better group of people can be found anywhere. There are many different room types to accommodate the needs of anyone. Location is perfect! There is a building with an overview and one across the street. They have a laundry room in both buildings and an awesome hot breakfast. I never even consider another hotel when I'm in the area because the staff makes me feel at home and accommodations are great.

    « Felt Sqeezed IN »

For a Best Western Plus this was kind of a letdown. The entrance was very tight to say the least. The property exterior very inviting-but again small and cramped-like it was put there just to do it. A very nice pool and quaint lazy river adjacent to a very busy street-sidewalk was offset by a room that really surprised us. WHY?? The room was very small but the real issue was two new bathroom towel racks installed above where two previously had been. The four raggedy holes left from the first two towel racks were NEVER filled-covered-nor spackled and painted...just left forgotten-JOB DONE!! There was most obviously NO follow-up work inspections...and that's not what makes a property a "PLUS". The area surrounding the exterior-sides and rear were shoddy-messy-and security-wise questionable...See for yourself.

    « A little disappointing »

When we first pulled up, I wasn't sure if I even wanted to stay there. Then we found out that we were staying across the street in the suites. Parking was horrible and there was not enough spaces for all the rooms. We were told there was overflow parking but we went there and all of the spaces was for the hotel next door. The hallways were very old looking. When we went into the room, the smell of bleach was overwhelming. The room was much better than I thought it would be. Not sure if I would stay there again though. The people at the front desk were very nice.

    « Great View/ Location »

We stayed in the Oceanfront Building for two nights.Check in was a bit slow as there was only one employee at the front desk. There was a musty smell in the 5th floor highway. The toilet was installed improperly as it was not perpendicular to the wall. It was on a slight angle which caused a problem when at the sink. We sneezed every time we entered the bathroom. The room was very clean with ample towels. The breakfast was very good, offering both hot and cold items. The grounds were well maintained. The view from the oceanfront balcony was great. Reasonably priced and a great location with ample parking.

« Great location, short walk to the beach. »

I stayed in the building across the street from the beach during Labor Day weekend. The room was good, breakfast was good, parking a bit tight, outside hallways. The hotel was full and I must remember that the people travelling together that congregated outside my first-floor door were only having some family time. The price is right for a clean and comfortable room with easy beach access.

    « A pleasant surprise »

What a nice surprise, considering the cost was so low for what we had. Our suite had two bedrooms which were identical, clean, nicely decorated and both had doors to the outside. Beds were comfortable and had duvets instead of bedspreads. Personally, I abhor bed spreads in hotels rooms for obvious reasons. There was also a clean kitchen, with decent supplies, a full size refrigerator, stove/microwave and a table with four chairs. The bathroom was clean, nice and had everything we needed regarding towels, hair dryer and the usual soaps and lotions. The grounds were well kept. The pool was nice. There is coffee and tea in the lobby for their guests convenience. Breakfast was adequate with a lot to choose from. Staff was wonderful, helpful and bent over backwards to get us what we needed. Michael ( the night manager), we passed through New Bern sooner than expected. We had all intentions of eating at your friends place for lunch. However, we were still full from breakfast and didn't want to over indulge. It would have been GREAT to have tried it though. Sorry, but thanks for the tip anyway. This hotel is conveniently located and well worth the price.

    « Perfect. »

This was our first stay at B.W. We had a pretty room, It was very clean and just looked very nice. We had a kitchenette that we didn't use. Plenty of hot water and soft towels. The check in was fast and ALL employees were very friendly and always spoke to us. Our breakfast was very good and over four days there were variations in the selections. We did not mind showing our tickets for our FREE breakfast. We were on the third floor, main building, there was an elevator near our room. There was nothing shady looking around the hotel. We felt 100% safe. It was an easy walk over to the ocean side. I believe the management really cares about running a great hotel. Thank you, great job! We will be back.

    « Sufficient »

The hotel itself is very nice. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was odd as we had to show tickets for entry but there was outside seating. I did not care to pay a "resort" fee when I didn't even use the pool. There was a car break in and the security camera was not working. Also noticed another camera that was out which is not good for this part of Myrtle Beach.

« Loved staying at this hotel! »

The room unit was very large with a nice large comfortable king sized bed and all the amenities you want including large flat screen TV, refrigerator, safe, ironing board and plenty of clothes drawers. Bathroom was very new looking equipped with hair dryer, plenty of towels, hot water and everything worked. Our room did have an outside hallway, but was not objectionable in any way. We chose not to have an ocean view. The hotel did have a very quite elevator serving all rooms. Ice machine was only on the first floor. Rooms adjacent to ice machine might have a noise problem, but ours was on the third floor.

    « VACATION! »

The room was our castle for 4 1/2 days. Wonderfully clean and breakfast was terrific. We stayed in the oceanfront building and enjoyed the indoor pool/spa every night. Desk clerks, Linda and Scott were very helpful with dining and entertainment ideas. The entire hotel and grounds were very clean and well maintained. We are looking forward to returning next year.

« Fine stay at a good hotel! »

We stayed in the BW property on the non-beach side of the street. Very close walk across the street to the beach. Room was clean and well supplied. Full refridge, small stove, few cooking utensils and dinnerware. We only stayed one night, but you could easily stay here for a week and be happy. At the south end of Myrtle - a little quieter than the central and north end. Parking is a challenge, but ample parking is located behind the property if you don't mind the walk. Good stay!

You really cant go past this hotel for location and cleanliness and friendly helpful staff not to mention the great lazy river they have. Its right across the road from the beach so good for early morning walks.

This was a very clean and well kept, friendly hotel! Breakfast was amazing and me and my family looked forward to it every morning. Just a short walk from the hotel to the beach. My kids enjoyed the pool and lazy river. We will definitely be back!

« Great All Around Hotel »

This was my second time staying here. I regularly visit Myrtle Beach and have stayed at a dozen different hotels in the area. This hotel is great as it has many different accommodations. They have a beachfront building, a main building which is just across the street and private cottages. This trip was a guy's fishing trip so with 3 guys we stayed in a 2 room, 3 bed suite which fit perfect for our needs. In addition this hotel has a gated overflow parking area to park our boat and trailer. This hotel is a national brand that is locally owned and operated. The hotel grounds are very well kept up and has both indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs and a lazy river. The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and had plenty of pillows. All the staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. They have a continental breakfast which if far superior to most other continental breakfast offered by hotels. Had a great selection of food.

« always a great place to stay »

we pick this hotel to stay every time we go to myrtle beach. It is in a very good location, and cleanliness goes without saying. The staff is always friendly and helpful. there are ocean front rooms as well as rooms that surround a large centralized pool throw in a nice complementary breakfast and you can't go wrong.

Great place to stay and very welcoming! Right across from the beach or you can sray right on the beach and close to everything. Pool, lazy river, and hot tub. Very clean rooms! Free breakfast! Indoor pool. Plenty of parking.

    « OK Stay »

We enjoyed the pool view, however it was open & occupied well after 11pm (summer). Breakfast area was small but we went early & enjoyed all the offerings. Staff super friendly. Parking pass needed & utilized as it was very crowded. The property/lot next door looks a bit sketchy but other properties nearby seem fine. Best Western is a divided property (Ocean Blvd) & the ocean rooms have separate indoor pool/hot tub area. This looks like a less crowded/quieter option. Short walk across Ocean Blvd to beach from the main bldg. where we stayed. Didn't get a chance to use pool or fitness room but they look great.

« Good prices and convenient to beach »

Four of us shared a 2 BR/2 bath suite across the street from the building that offered oceanfront rooms. Our view was of the pool and parking lot which did not matter to us. The beds were fine, rooms were clean although dated. Breakfast was ample - Spam, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, assorted breads, bagels, cinnamon rolls, waffles, several juices and coffee. Clean eating area. Pool was delightful, as was lazy river. Hot tub small and looked like it needed a good cleaning. But we were all very pleased for the most part and definitely would stay here again.

« Very clean and great location »

Stayed here for a night and this location is very clean and well maintained. The location is very convenient to many attractions in the North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach area. The staff was very helpful and pleasant and I would recommend this place!

« The best place to stay in Myrtle Beach »

This is the place place to stay in MB, specially at the Oceanfront building where you face the beach. It is nice and quiet, so clean and convenient located to go everywhere around. And their breakfast is amazing every day, variety of good food, many choices, healthy and always fresh

    4
    « Labor day break »

This is a really nice hotel for the price. We paid more for the ocean view hotel and was not disappointed. The view was excellent. The room was clean and included a refrigerator, stove and dishes. The only downside was the breakfast line. Since it was the weekend it took 15 minutes to reach the food at 8:30 every morning. The breakfast staff worked really hard to keep it stocked and clean. Maybe they can expand the breakfast area since it's so small and add another line to ease the congestion. Will definitely stay here again.

    4
    « Quite Nice »

The two storey "motel" is renovated and very clean. It is located across the road form the beach with easy access to it. The issue with the property is that you have to drive everywehere if you want to go to eat. There are no restaurants close by. The staff are great and the parking is ample. They have their own maintenance staff as night security and we did not have issue with that.

    4
« A stone throw away from the beach »

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel located in walking distance of the beach, this is it! The staff is accommodating and friendly, the daily breakfast is filling and delicious, and the rooms are comfortable. The only drawback was having a hard time opening the door even when staff showed us how to use it. The air ventilation was dusty and there was hair from either the previous guest/housekeeper in the bathroom even after it was cleaned. There are three levels without any elevator. Be sure if you are handicapped to request a first floor room. Minor issues when you can wake-up everyday and walk across the street to blue skies and beach sand everyday.

    3
« Just Okay Is All I Can Say »

Room was ok, but the bedspread was stained. Since my OCD with sleeping on hotel beds, I travel with my own linens so no problem for me. Toilet made leaking sound the entire trip & ac extremely loud. Back parking lot made us feel a little uneasy with wierdos taking shortcuts across the property. On the plus side, breakfast was excellent, hot and freshly replenished. Pool and Beach acessibility great.

    « Anniversary Vacation »

So far our experience has been nothing but positive. Check-in was easy and quick. We arrived several hours early and we're able to go ahead and use the amenities. Our room was ready 2 hours early. The room is a little small but functional. It was clean and bed is actually reasonably comfortable. Love the fresh coffee in the lobby, 24/7. The continental breakfast was actually much better than I expected.

    4
« Items needed for consideration. »

Only complaint is that the breakfast area is much too small for the number of people that were there. Parking area is too close to pool area even though I was always able to find a parking place. Bad idea to have tables/chairs for outside seating for breakfast, right beside where people are driving in to register at the hotel.

    4
    « Great hotel »

Love the free continental breakfast!!! Not ocean front but the beach is across the street. If go with kids keep on mind that the only activity in the hotel is the swimming pool. Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. As i said huge plus was the breakfast, otherwise be prepared to spend at least $30 for family.

    « Amazing Hotel! »

We stayed in the ocean front building and it was really nice. There was an issue when we first got there with the room smelling like smoke even though its a smoke free building and the front desk didn't handle the situation well at all. We eventually got into our room the next day and Scott made sure everything was perfect. After that little hiccup the rest of our stay was really amazing. The view from the balcony was beautiful. Its literally steps to the beach. The AC worked really well and the room was comfortable. The kitchen was fine too. Overall great stay, just wished they had a night manager.

    « Awesome Find! »

So glad we found this place!! Clean, plenty of room. Our room was listed as a "no view", but we surprised to find we could see the beach from our balcony. This hotel has two buildings. One is beachfront, the other(the one we were in) is across the street. Ample parking at the main building(the one we were at). Free breakfast is offered. It does get crowded. That may be my only issue, two buildings and they try to squeeze everyone into a small breakfast area. I thought they could add more tables outside, or have take out containers, to allow you to take the food to your room. You're not allowed to do that. They do offer a "to go" option. we didn't try that.. The beds were so comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the morning and evening. An indoor and outdoor pool is available, but we didn't use either. If we travel to Myrtle Beach again, this will be the place to stay.

    5
« Great Location at reasonable price »

We booked this property for a short (4 days) stay at the ocean. We were not disappointed at any time and we will definitely return to this property should we be in the same area in the future. Despite of the high season the price was very reasonable.

    « Okay »

The front desk staff were kind and friendly. The house keeping staff did not do the greatest job. We stayed 6 days and 5 times i had to got to the front desk to complain. One it was no towels, another we need soap (which you pay for new soap daily), another our bathroom wasn't clean. Breakfast is included but i would recommend going out to breakfast.

« It was good for the money »

The breakfast was great. The room was good, clean, and comfortable. I would stay there again. I enjoyed my stay a the Best Western Hotel. The pool looked nice and clean. I did not get in the pool because I lived at the beach. The pool also had a lazy river which the kids kind enjoy.

    « Family Vacation »

We liked this place. Our view of the ocean was awesome with a great balcony. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a fridge and microwave. Walking across the street for free breakfast buffet was fine. It was good and plentiful. The staff was friendly and extremely accommodating. Location was a drawback. Our walk to the main strip to find a restaurant for dinner was unsuccessful. The surrounding area is somewhat rundown. Not comfortable venturing too far with out kids after dark. Otherwise we had a very nice stay.

Excellent hotel right across from the beach. Room w/balcony over-looking the pool was very nice. Room smelt good. Bed was very comfortable. The shower was nice, but the bathroom was a little small. Gets 5 stars from us!

    « Very Good »

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. It was a good location and the staff were very friendly and co-operative. The room was clean and the kitchen well stocked. The breakfast was very good although the space in the breakfast area was a little tight because the hotel was full which indicates the popularity of the hotel. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

    « Awesome First Stay!!! »

First off, before we even stayed at the hotel I called to make sure everything with our booking was good to go and the lady I talked to was extremely nice. When we arrived at the hotel the people working behind the front desk was friendly and made us feel welcomed. Our hotel room was on the 4th floor of the oceanfront building which had the best view. Our room was very nice and smelled fresh and clean. We had breakfast twice and the lobby was kept clean and straightened up. All the housekeepers were friendly and greeted us anytime they was out in the hallways. We did not swim in the pool but walked by it a few times and it looked super clean. We got a good deal on our oceanfront room and had the best views to wake up to and go to bed to. I would recommend to anyone if you can get an oceanfront room here,to do so! This BW plus has a great team that works hard to insure their customers are being taken care of and that means A LOT when staying away from home.

    « Close to Beach »

First, the staff are friendly and professional. The hotel is close to the beach which is nice. the pool was nice to have for a refreshing swim. I would give it higher marks but I thought the pool at night should have been monitored better. There were young adults obviously intoxicated and diving in the pool which was dangerous and splashing nearby guests. This was not that relaxing. I'm sure it probably is not always that way, but should have been monitored. Also one evening I was awakened by loud music that went on for half an hour, but these were the only incidents during an entire week. I thought they were a little pricey for what you get but it was peak season. The breakfast is nice to start the day and it was above average, the food workers always made sure food was plentiful. I would stay here again or research North Myrtle Beach a little more because that seemed to be were the happenings were most of the time. One more thing that is important and they did well was the housekeeping was excellent. Checked with us everyday and worked with our schedule. They did an outstanding job.

I didn't realize how close to the beach this hotel was, nice. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable sorry I didn't get to stay longer to enjoy it. This room is not facing the beach it's a side view from the room.

« Best Value-- Excellent Staff! »

I searched for the best value.... Best Western Plus Grand Strand provided not only the best value, but also an excellent and very attentive staff. We stayed at the oceanfront part of the hotel. Our room was nicely decorated, 2 queen beds, nice kitchenette, full bathroom, eating area, and a balcony with a view of the ocean. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and attentive. For example, our rooms hairdryer burnt out. I called the front desk and within 5 minutes a maintenance worker came, removed the old hair dryer and returned with a new one....this all took no longer than 10 minutes from my call!. Other examples are the food service personnel that served breakfast, they were so kind and upbeat, and treated each guest with a cheery Good morning and the children with a little special toy/gift. The front desk staff readily engaged in warm welcomings and conversations and were helpful with directions and things to do. The housekeeping staff was very thorough and kind. We would definitely stay here again.

    5
    « Goto hotel »

This is our goto hotel in Myrtle Beach. We live 90 minutes up the coast and visit MB regularly. We have stayed from Cherry Grove to Surfside and have found this hotel to be the best value. Why? Cleanliness (a friend of ours spent thousands to eradicate bed bugs she brought home from another hotel after shag week) the linens and bedding are fresh and a great mattress. Parking; if you are new to staying in Myrtle Beach you will find parking can be either a hike to the parking garage or worse limited. The parking is open lot which is great for those of us with large trucks or suv's. Breakfast is great with eggs, breakfast meat. Waffles etc kept constantly freshened up. Heck that's 25 dollars a day right there. Last the staff are very professional and friendly. You get the feeling this is their "home" not just a job. Great place, repeat visitors see you next time.

« Great place to stay »

I loved the suite we were in plenty of room for a family of 5 or more loved it will stay again at this brand of hotel. I have used this hotel brand for years and can say it is a great place to stay and to plan a vacation for the family nice decor in the rooms and very comfortable beds to rest after a day of driving and having fun with the family of course being in Myrtle Beach SC did not hurt either!!

    5
« Great Stay for Our Family »

I will certainly make reservations here, again, when visiting Myrtle Beach. First of all, the staff was super! From the folks at the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The owner of this facility was often seen walking around the grounds, which ensured this hotel was well managed. We booked an efficiency for a week in July of 2016 for a family week at the beach. The efficiency was very clean and the decor was very nice. Our efficiency included a king bed, two queens and we requested a roll-a-way. The beds were all very comfy. The little kitchen area was nicely stocked with glasses, plates, bowls, utensils, baking sheet and skillet. They provided a small bottle of dish soap and kitchen cloth and towel. The bathroom had plenty of towels for the 6 of us and they provided soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. There is also a hair dryer. The fitness room was well maintained and all the equipment worked. We find this a rarity when it comes to hotels. There are two treadmills, an elliptical, a universal gym, two ab apparatuses and a Swiss ball. There is a TV, a water dispenser, a bathroom and fresh towels and wipes for the equipment, as well. Breakfast was also great! Plenty to eat and they basically had two breakfast menues that alternated every other day. They also offer gluten free upon request. Some of the foods you'll find are scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, French toast sticks, cinnamon rolls, grits, oatmeal, yogurt with a variety of toppings, fruit, juices and coffee. Coffee was available all day. There is a guest laundry that I used a couple of times and the machines worked well and cost very little to use. The pool and lazy river was very well maintained and the grounds kept very well. There was a gentleman watering the potted plants every morning. If there was only one complaint, it would be the wifi. Very slow go! It took several tries to order meals at local restaurants online. But, if this is the only complaint, it is minor in my mind compare to all the positive things we found. This hotel was very convenient to the beach, restaurants, a grocery store and gift shops. We walked to most places, including getting a few groceries and picking up pizza. Yes, we will certainly be back (upon reading reviews and their rating at that time, of course)!

    « Nice place! »

We stayed at the Best Western Grand Strand Inns and Suites at Myrtle Beach and we really enjoyed our stay. The queen size bed was comfy and we had a kitchenette in our room. Although we never used the stove during our stay, it was still nice to have in your room in case you wanted to just go to the store and cook something in your room. I was on vacation, so me doing any cooking was NOT happening! We did use the fridge, though and it kept our drinks very cold. There's free WiFi and a small balcony right outside of the room with a table and two chairs in case you wanted to sit outside. They have an outdoor pool with a lazy river in case you don't want to go to the beach. There's a continental breakfast every morning from 6 to 9:30. The lobby is really small, so if you want something to eat, get there early so you'll have a place to sit because they don't allow you to take your food back up to your room. Why? I don't know. You have to eat in the lobby. We stayed in the hotel across from the beach. They also have another building right across the street that is right by the beach and has rooms with balcony's that face the ocean, which are more expensive. We didn't mind staying at the hotel across the street from the beach because it's not even a two minute walk and you are on the beach. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here!

    « We'll Be Back! »

My husband and I were looking for a great place to get away and celebrate our anniversary in Myrtle Beach. Having much faith in good old Trip Advisor, I searched for a location with great rates, on the beach and within the top 20 of all locations. Fortunately for us, Trip Advisor led us to the Best Western Plus. I have to be honest, I've never considered the BW chain and now I'm sorry I never did. This place was great. From the greeting we received from Michael on the overnight shift to Nicholas as we departed today. Michael couldn't have been more accommodating. He asked us to make sure we called him after we got settled in to let him know how the room was. We stayed in the oceanfront building on the 5th floor in one of the king rooms. The room was very clean and spacious. The view of the ocean couldn't have been better. We only had one little issue upon check in. There wasn't a parking spot for us on the Oceanside so Michael had one of the maintenance people, I think his name was Robert, come and help us load our vehicle and get into the room and find a parking spot. Both Michael and Robert apologized several times and truly felt bad. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and also very accommodating. We plan on returning again next time with the children and reserving the 3 bedroom penthouse. If you want to stay Oceanfront in MB I highly recommend the Best Western.

    « Terrible »

    1. Pool is in center of this Motel and rooms wrap around it. Screeching children in pool until midnight. Repeated calls to front desk no to avail. Impossible to sleep with noise uncontrolled. 2. Housekeeper left patio door not only unlocked but cracked open! 3. Two days left note for housekeeper to replenish Toilet paper ( roll was empty) --no replacement--no attention to such details. 4. A/C unit uncontrollable--blasted freezing temps then turns off and gets warm in 15 mins again 5. room not very clean..... Do not stay.

« Disappointed for the Price »

We had not been there 5 minutes and we were approached by homeless for money. The room appeared clean but after a few minutes of walking around our feet were black. The remote didn't work, we had no ice bucket after we ask. They ran out of wash cloths and we had to wait for over 3 hours before we could shower after coming back from the beach. Our room was in front of vending and ice machine so a lot of traffic and very loud people who could have cared less. The room smelled really funny like something soured and the maid came in and emptied the trash and left sticky liquid on the floor and didn't bother to clean up. The kitchenette is a joke no bowls, silverware just a few cups. The sink in the kitchen didn't drain properly at all. The bed my husband and I slept in sounded like everytime you rolled over a spring was breaking and popping like a cartoon We were never able to get free breakfast it was always a line out the door and craziness the set up they have for that is very poor. I definitely would not recommended this hotel. It was my first and last time for sure. I honestly didn't feel very safe at this hotel at all. I slid a chair up against the doors for extra protection. The guy checking us in was super nice but everything from that point was down hill.

Our family had a fabulous experience - great room, service, and location. Our room was perfect for 5, lots of space to visit and hangout. The breakfast buffet was a great amenity. « Best Western Plus in Myrtle Beach... a Winning Experience »

Myrtle Beach was the site for the National Cheer Competitions this year for NYA and we had never been there before. I called and made reservations at this hotel on recommendations from friends who lived in the area. When we checked in on Thursday afternoon, Nickolas got us into our rooms quickly and answered all our questions that were important at that time. When I later returned to ask yet another question, he already knew my name and made me feel like a very important guest despite the fact that every room was filled that night. I was most impressed with his personable treatment of people and with the smile he always had on his face when speaking with guests. The rooms were very comfortable and were exactly what I had requested when I made my reservations months prior to our trip. Nickolas even mentioned that our rooms were on the ground floor as requested when we checked in... again this is not what you always find when you go to any hotel. The rooms were clean and our every need was met during our stay. The outdoor pool was clean and provided for a good time for my grandkids... they loved the lazy river and I truly appreciated the jacuzzi and the deep end of the pool. The beach was just across the street and took less that four minutes to walk to it and enjoy the sand and surf. The beach too was clean and the people there were friendly. I cannot say this about all places that I travel to but it was definitely true of Myrtle Beach. Nickolas gave us directions to the Convention Center where the girls had to go for competitions and to the locations where they had to be prior to that for their respective "team parties". His helpfulness truly made our entire trip enjoyable and "problem free". (Thank you Nickolas!!) This hotel is close to lots of restaurants of all varieties and you can also have food delivered to your rooms too. Our group loved the Pizza from Hungry Howies which was within walking distance of the hotel and the pizza was EXCELLENT. If you are planning a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC... give serious consideration of this hotel. You will not be disappointed!

Came for a few days with my husband and daughter. The pictures made the hotel seem bigger than it is. Breakfast area very crowded , we ate outside each morning. The pool was a nice size and roped off on the deep end which was 7-9 ft deep . This was not crowed and you were able to swim and enjoy as most of the kids were in the shallow end and lazy river. Ocean view was beautiful and someone always had fireworks going off which were fun to watch at night. The rooms were clean but a little dated , could have used new carpeting.

    « Great Time/Great Location/Extremely affordable »

My husband and I stayed at the non-ocean front property on July 17th, 2016-July 20th, 2016 and we were thoroughly impressed. The front office staff were friendly and accommodating. The property is directly across the street from the beach and within walking distance of restaurants and entertainment. The BW oceanfront property offers additional access to an indoor pool and exercise room. Our room was so clean and comfortable everything from the bed, linens and furniture. The décor was tastefully decorated. The kitchenette was perfect. The cleaning staff were on point. The housekeeping supervisor even came to check on us one morning post our room being cleaned. I thought that was a very professional act. The outdoor pool is inviting and has later hours than most hotel pools, (open until 12am). Even though there was a Mustang Convention happening simultaneously with vehicles with loud motor action, the room was quiet and peaceful. We can not wait to visit again next year for a longer duration. Highly recommend this location!

« Very good hotel for vacation! »

We were here for a long weekend in July. We stayed in the Main building, not the Beachfront one. Our stay was awesome, very affordable, breakfast was great (try to get there on :15, :45 times, to avoid the on-the-hour crowd), rooms were cozy and always clean. The beach was less than a 5 minute walk. The pools were amazing, were never that crowded, and open to midnight. We will be back for sure! A++

« Still a great place to stay »

My children and myself have stayed at this property 6 times during the last 7 years (My year we were not able to go on vacation). Most of the staff is great and takes care of problems right away and most of them will speak to you when you walk by. I'm not sure we will be able to go on a vacation next year but if we do, I plan on staying here for the 7th time.

    « Comfortable Room »

We had a 2 room apartment to include dishes and appliances. The room was very clean and comfortable. This hotel is right at the beach. We crossed the street and was at the water. It is also in walking distance of an ice cream shop and other amenities.

« Family Fun at the Beach »

First time to the area and the location was perfect. Two buildings and cottages. Very close to the beach and beach rentals. The lazy river and outdoor pool was really nice. The breakfast was great with many options and parking was plenty. This location is great for families, couples or even a girls' getaway. I would surely return to this location in the future. I highly recommend this hotel and location.

    « Just okay »

Room was okay nothing special other then on the ocean. Dirty cookie sheet in draw of oven. Really didn't care that breakfast was across the street and couldnt take back to the room. Unable to use indoor pool because it smelled so bad from chlorine. told the front desk and they said oh okay. Very expensive. Disappointed. No elevator for rooms across the street.

    « Great Value »

Great value for the myrtle beach strip. Had great service from breakfast to the room service. The beds were extremely comfortable and room very clean. Check in was very fast and friendly. Not a five star hotel, but an excellent motel for the money. Would definitely stay again.

    « Clean and convenient »

We stayed here for one night on Sunday. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. I thought we would be closer to the water, one building is, however we were on the other side of he street. It is a couple miles from the Ferris wheel and beach shops. They give you a parking pass and there is plenty of free parking.

We love staying here. Convenient, clean and comfortable. Everything we need is here. We stay in the ocean view rooms and we wouldn't do it any other way. We highly recommend this hotel to everyone we know. Thank you.

« We loved the time we've spent there... »

We stayed at the Best Western Plus for our 9th year wedding anniversary. It was a beachfront 1st floor room. My wife and I really liked and enjoyed the whole experience. The room is really large with 2 tv, stove top, oven, full refrigerator, microwave etc... The only thing that may need improvement has to do with breakfast. The breakfast area appears to be too small (capacity), compared to the number of people taking their breakfast, especially during summer time. Overall however, we recommend this hotel and will surely go there again last time.

« Nice place with bad air conditioning system »

Everything was nice about this place, except that the air conditioner broken 3 times in a 4 night stay. They really need to get a new air conditioning system, as the one they have is horrible. The manager was very nice and let us stay to 3:00 p.m. on checkout as well as refunded us 100 dollars for the air conditioning problem. We would come back again due to this, but we hope next time that the air conditioning system is fixed.

    « Needs updating »

Staff was great but the hotel is stuck in the 80s. The furniture and appliances need updating a lot. The kitchen is the original kitchen of being built. Very old. The staff was some of the best staff I've had the pleasure of meeting.

Nice rooms, beds were great and the amenities were great. Customer service at the front desk was exceptional! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! This will be our go to place when we go to the beach for trips.

    « Great stay! »

This hotel is well cared for, clean, friendly, good amenities. My husband and children stayed in the building that was not beachfront. It was an easy 2 minute walk to the beach. Staff were all very kind and friendly. The kitchenette was in good working order and we used it every day. I would recommend this hotel to families looking for a place to have a great family vacation!

    « excellent value »

This was one of the most relaxing stays ever. The staff was very cordial and professional. Whenever I had a question or concern, they were addressed immediately. Recommendations for dining and entertainment were spot on. Staff at every level were eager to help.

« Great stay with kids »

This hotel has a great pool and lazy river for young children as well as teenagers. We were right on the beach, meaning we could see our room from the ocean! We enjoyed our stay but know that this location is off the strip and not within walking distance however, it was perfect short drive to the strip. Families with young children wouldn't want to be at the strip too late into the evening anyways. The hotel is perfect!

« Great view! Great value! Great Staff! Great for groups! »

We were traveling with a group of 8 and had two rooms booked in a crappy hotel for $220/each for a total of $440 plus taxes. When that crappy hotel said they didn't have any record of our reservation, it was the best thing that could've happened to us. We called this Best Western and the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. We rented the 6th floor penthouse of their suites building. We had the entire 6th floor to ourselves with wrap around balconies on three sides of the building. The unit had three bedrooms and a pull out couch - which was the best couch-bed I've ever slept on to date! This amazing unit was only $623 total and we were all able to stay together! Plus with the cleanliness, view, helpful staff, and location...it was WELL WORTH the money. I would recommend this unit to any family or group traveling to Myrtle Beach. The experience was so wonderful, with the staff, that i hope to stay in more Best Western Plus hotels during my future travels. Cindy

    « Very Good Value »

Overall the room was clean and functional. The color scheme and decor was pretty and updated. The bathroom seemed newly renovated so it was very clean and shiny. There were a couple of items I saw that probably need changed out eventually. Also the fitted sheet did not want to stay on the mattress. We didn't use the pool (because most of the time it was full) so I don't know how it was.

« Great Place to Stay »

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights. The room was beautiful, nice and clean, beds very comfortable. We had a kitchen with full size stove and fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Also dishes, glasses and flatware. There were two seperate bed rooms each with its own tv. Roomy clean bathroom, Nice pool and hot tub, Great breakfast. The beach was right across the street, I would definitely stay here again.

    « Long weekend getaway »

Stayed Thursday through Monday in a king bed efficiency. Nice room for a couple. Plenty of parking, always found a spot by our room except for a late night return from out on the town. A quick walk to the beach from across the road. Pool was refreshing as well as the lazy river. The breakfast was a life saver for us. It keeps you from having to head out to find breakfast somewhere and gets you on the beach much quicker. It's a well rounded breakfast as well. The waffle batter and easy to use waffle irons are my favorite. Try it, it's easy and delicious. Staff was always cordial and ready to assist. Highly recommended.

« Two Motels in One »

Have stayed here before. Stayed in oceanside building - it was nice & quiet & peaceful. This time stayed with grandkids. Stayed in building NOT on oceanside. Pool & lazy river were great for grandkids, but pool noise reached our room until pool closed at night. You have your choice - quiet, peaceful, no crowds OR pools, crowds, party atmosphere !!!

    « Affordable »

This place is nice, clean and affordable. Customer service was good. The room is clean. Ours had a fridge, microwave, and oven. Our bed was soft and had a lot of soft pillows. Very convenient. They offered free breakfast and it was a good breakfast. The pool was nice, close to the beach. Parking is available. The guests were not rowdy. I recommend this place. Good stay.

« Best Western Grand Strand at Myrtle Beach »

Wonderful place for a family vacation! The children played on the beach and the adults caught up on family games. Eating out or lunching in was easy. The breakfast at Grand Strand worked well for a large group. People could go to the dining area whenever they got up.

    « Family Vacation »

Beware if you change your dates for any reason you WILL still be charged. Our family travels a lot at best this is a 2Star Hotel. Breakfast is so-so. You are not allowed to take it to your room instead the give you a to-go bag with a water, banana, old croissant and breakfast bar. Maids are horrible missed our room 3 of 5 days. When they did come they made beds and left towels on bed. No vacuuming, nothing. People at pool around us complained all day. OK hotel for a 2 Star clean enough but tiny rooms. I would not pay the price for this hotel again.

    « Must stay! »

Hotel was wonderful with clean & tidy rooms; standard hot Breakfast was included. The beach was literally across the street, just a walk through a parking lot. Wished we took more advantage of the outdoor pool, didn't get a chance to check out the indoor pool. It was nice being able to park right next to your building vs some other hotels.

« Wonderful place to stay! »

My family and I stayed at this hotel for five nights and it was wonderful! We arrived a day early and the friendly front desk staff was able to accommodate us. The guest room we had exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the main building and our view of the ocean was beautiful. The pool and lazy river were the BEST ever...we stayed at the pool more than the beach! The continental breakfast had a variety of choices. Scott and his hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay June 2016. Location was key. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was beautiful cooked and arranged tastefully and kept hot. Next time I'm in South Carolina I will make sure I stay again. Will also extend my time. I highly recommend this hotel.

« Lovely weekend at the beach »

My husband and I were rather pleased with our accomodations at the beach for our long weekend. Though the hotel was on the second row versus oceanfront, the walk across the street was not rigorous or bothersome at all. The included breakfast was one of the best we've ever had at a hotel stay. All of the staff that we had encounters with were pleasant. We weren't expecting a luxury hotel and that is not what we got. But what we did experience was perfectly acceptable and pleasant. We would come again and would also recommend this location to our family or friends.

    « Wonderful Short Stay »

This hotel was very well kept with extremely helpful staff. Whether you stopped at the front desk or met one of them in the hallway they were always happy to ask if you needed any help. Their housekeeping staff is very accommodating so if you forgot something or needed a bit more coffee/cream (like we did) they will go out of their way to help. Yes we left a little bit of a tip for them helping us out but it is not anything different than going to the restaurant. Very happy staff! Well worth the stay.

« Disappointing stay (this time) »

This was our 2nd stay in as many years to this particular BW+. The first time around it was a great value for the money. This time, it really lacked in service and amenities. I'll elaborate. We made reservations online about 3 weeks in advance. We requested a first floor room at that time. Upon check in, we were told that our room wasn't ready -this was at 3pm (which is the check in time). No problem, we walked to the beach and came back 30 minutes later as they told us. When we returned, they wanted to put us on the third floor. I told them that was unacceptable since we made arrangements far ahead of time and that if we were to know that was all that was available we would have stayed elsewhere. So, they told us that they did have another room they were cleaning up on the 1st floor but it wouldn't be ready for an additional 1/2 hour (about 4pm). So, we again went to the beach and came back. Fine, we finally got a room. At first, we were really happy because we were upgraded to a room with a full size refrigerator and oven. But our happiness soon turned into frustration. First, room service came at the absolutely worst times -showing up at 9-10am or waiting until 3-4pm. We never knew when we should stay out of the room to have them clean it. Second, half the times we didn't get towels unless we asked the front desk. This was just annoying more than anything else. And we never did get anything more than one bottle shampoo, conditioner, and lotion for the 4 of us the entire 7 day stay. Third, we asked twice for the linens to get switched out and that never happened. So although they did make the bed everyday (albeit whenever they got to it), they never came in with fresh sheets. This was horrible with two teenagers who slept with sand every night. We figured since we asked two days in a row and they still never listened that we weren't going to bother asking any more times. Fourth, we had mold on our shower curtain. I did NOT bring this to their attention, but I wanted to put it out there because it goes to show the cleanliness of the hotel (room 1105 -i bet its still there). Fifth, the rules clearly state that its a family hotel and as such the quiet times would be until 11pm. Which is great for us, but there was no one there to come out and tell the inbreeds partying it up at the pool area to quiet down from 11pm until 11:45pm. And speaking of which, another complaint i had was that no one monitored the pool area. We must of had a few dozen people at the pool at any given time that didn't even stay at our hotel. You could tell that they were just hanging out. And another interesting thing -there was a group of 16 people who stayed in only 2 rooms who spent two days at the hotel's pool area. What a nightmare they were. Why doesn't BW+ check these things and kick out people like that? And finally, the sixth thing that was a complete disappointment was the quality of the breakfast. BW+ use to have a really great breakfast last year but I see nothing has changed. I guess for it being included in the price of our stay -it's probably all they could spend on it...so don't come in expecting much (like a Hilton). Overall, our stay was disappointing to my family. I'm pretty sure next time we'll upgrade ourselves to a little better quality/pricier hotel down the strip. The problems we had should have been handled by BW+ but never were resulting in a very poor experience. That's really too bad because last year I really couldn't say enough good things about them. And it's entirely possible we just had a bad stay and other people had a better experience. But after as much travel as I've done and with as long as we stayed they dropped the ball far too much to make me believe to the contrary. Sorry BW+, but you've gone down hill.

Third year in a row staying here. Absolutely great place to stay especially to get away from everything. Always have stayed in the oceanfront building and it is always super clean. « Making memories! »

I took my son and three of his friends to Myrtle Beach as a gift for graduating highschool. Best Western Plus staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about things to do around town and also had a round about price for these places. The rooms were clean and well stocked. The breakfast was excellent and seeing I brought 3 young active men the also brought healthy appetites to the breakfast table and we never went away unsatified. We can't wait to come back for a longer vacation and visit our new friends at Best Western Plus.

« Small, homey, clean, classy »

Don't come here if you're looking for a Myrtle Beach mega-resort with massive amenities, amusement parks in the hotels, great views of the ocean. Do come here if you want a clean, comfortable room, with easy access to quiet indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzis and a tiny but warm lazy river, and a short walk to the beach. Some rooms can see the beach, but it's across Ocean Blvd unless you're in the oceanside building. The beach area is relatively quiet and calm. Only downside is a bit of a hike, and the hotel you're walking through is a lot wilder than the Best Western. Free Breakfast is a little different every morning, no powdered eggs or grocery store cinnamon rolls. Everything looks and tastes great. If anything doesn't work (hot tub had issues one night), mention it to the front desk or the ever present maintenance staff, and it is fixed quickly and efficiently. Noisy when lots of bikers or spring breakers around. People are friendly and very helpful. Bikes for rent.

    « 3.5 Stars »

I would rate this property 3.5 stars if I could--it is a large hotel, with 2 buildings. We stayed in the beachfront building with an ocean view--a very nice upgrade! The room was a suite with a separate living room/kitchen area. Decor was a bit tired but overall relatively clean. The indoor pool in the beach building was rather dirty when we went down there--so dirty that we did not use the hot tub, and only went in the pool for a little bit, it was due for a good cleaning. We were only there for one night, so we were not sure if the pool situation improved. Outdoor pool and lazy river (which looks WAAAAY larger in the online photos, the lazy river is basically a circular pool) seemed okay, but we didn't get in (Was a bit cold when we visited, and rainy at times). Ocean view from our balcony was beautiful, and we didn't have to take too many steps out of our room to be on the beach (which wasn't too overcrowded in May). Breakfast was okay, had plenty of options however got crowded VERY fast--the breafkast area doesn't have that many tables/seating. Kind of a bummer that you had to eat your breakfast IN the breakfast area, and could not take your plate back to the room--first hotel I've ever stayed in with a continental breakfast where this was a rule. Silly, actually. I would have enjoyed eating my breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean--instead, my husband and I had to find empty chairs at other tables, and cram them next to each other and eat with 5 strangers. Service was fine, although we probably won't stay here if we ever visit Myrtle Beach again--there are many nicer options. Definitly wasn't a 'Best' Western, more like a 'Mediocre' Western.

Excellent, staff is great- this is the only hotel I will ever stay at. I was there on June 2, 2016 and I will be back on July 12, 2016 so this tell you how much I enjoy myself here. Everything you need is close by, not far from the mall, close to grocery store, on feet from the water, love sitting on the balcony at night listen to the water, every should stay here at least one time, and I promise you will be going back,

A 3 day notice to cancel for medical emergencies should be sufficient for a refund when you paid in advance. I never noticed the 1 WEEK cancellation policy until it was too late. Every hotel I have ever stayed in has a 24 hour policy. But not for this greedy innkeeper. And medical emergencies didn't seem to matter!

« Good Value, Clean, Helpful Staff and Great Location »

I have not stayed at this hotel but went there today (I live here locally) to check it out for a friend who is coming to visit. Amanda, the Manager of the Housekeeping Dept., was super nice and showed me the suite that my friend had booked. While it is an older building, the room was very clean, furnished well and had a great view of the ocean. I personally like that it's on the south end of Hotel Blvd. (Ocean Ave. in reality) away from the crazy traffic and crowds that are typical during the summer months. If you like to be crammed in with everyone else, maybe this hotel isn't for you. But if you want a little distance from that then this is ideal.

The hotel was old, curtains weren't in best condition, neither was the bathroom, the table was chipped, and the only thing worth the hefty price was the ocean view. The treatment was alright, but for that type of price, I think I could get something better.

The owner was on site to greet customers and help staff where ever he was needed. The buildings wrap around the pool & lazy river creating a court yard effect. And lastly, they provided a full breakfast. I will not only stay here again, but recommend it to my friends too.

The staff is great Jack the owner was friendly walking around talking to people that were there for bike week they had special parking for motorcycle's only. There could have been a little more places for bikes but they didn't even have to have any at all. Would again

« Wonderful place to stay »

After having just come from 2 very different hotels and not great experiences, I was holding my breath. The staff was just wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable. The room was perfect. Very pleasant, very clean. I was only there 1 night, but it was a nice place to stay and would do so again in a heartbeat.

« great day at the beach »

We had a very great time while we stayed at the location. loved the easy access to the beach and the pools were nice and clean, the kids loved the lazy river and we loved the hot tub. wish we could have stayed longer!

« Great Hotel. Good Location. »

Free Parking. Sufficient breakfast. Big fitness center. Has pool, hot tub, lazy river. It's an ok location for what else is available in myrtle beach. Across the road from the beach. About a nice mile and half walk to the downtown area. A mile from amusement park. You can rent bikes though. Above average hotel. Small rooms.

« Nice hotel, beautiful beach »

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Everyone was very friendly and the breakfast was great. A little crowded because the eating area is in the lobby but the food was good. They have tables set up outside but unfortunately when we were there it was a little chilly in the morning to sit outside. Had a small problem with some linens but they were right on the ball and took care of it right away. We had a front room with a nice little porch and 2 rocking chairs they we sat out in the evening and watched the cars go by. The only negative I have is that they did not give towels to go to the beach because the sand ruined their washer. We didn't want to buy towels because we had no room to bring them back in our suitcase. Seems strange for a beach hotel. Would definitely go back and stay again. Everyone was very nice.

« Nice time & not attending for motorcycle rally weekend »

This was a last minute short vacation for myself & my husband. I made the reservation en route. About 45 minutes before we arrived, I had a call from Linda to advise me that this was Harley Davidson Motorcycle Rally weekend and that I had the option to cancel without penalty. We were determined to make a go of it so did not cancel. Our room was on the oceanfront. Although there were motorcycles, everyone was pleasant and we did not have any problems. The continental breakfast offers a large selection of choices. We did not use the lazy river/hot tub/pool on the opposite side of the street. The hot tub water jets on the oceanfront side are not very powerful. The building requires a key card to enter so we felt secure. Parking was not a problem on the oceanfront side, although we only went out one night of the three we were there. The other evenings, we simply walked to avoid the traffic. We enjoyed a nice getaway and will consider returning in the future. All the staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to acknowledge the guests. An on site coin operated washer & dryer were available if needed.

    « Very comfortable »

Motel was very spacious and comfortable. Felt safe as security and management was visible. Ocean was across the street and easily accesible. Room and grounds were clean. Parking was safe. Lots to do in the area.

    « great service »

The room was comfortable and clean but what really stood out was the service. I visited with my family including young children and after we checked out in the morning we were worried we would have to find (and pay for) a new place to park in order to spend the rest of the day on the beach. Not only did they let us continue to use the parking lot, they also gave us a key to access the bathrooms, shower, and indoor pool for the remainder of the day which made our time at the beach much more enjoyable especially with small kids. My only negative comment would be that we almost chose a different hotel because of the "all adults must be over 21" policy. we had my wife's 19 year old sister with us and were worried they would deny us a room. When I originally called to book the room they told me they wouldn't book it because of this. in the end we just booked it on line anyway and took our chances. when we got there they didn't ask anything about the age of any of the adults staying in the room. my guess is it was clear we were responsible adults and wouldn't cause

    « good hotel »

The hotel is clean and the staff was freindly. The hotel has 3 properties, the main building , 2 cottages behind the main building and a property across the street which is ocean front. The continental breakfast was good with a wide variety of food. We thought it was worth the extra money to stay in the ocean front property which has beautiful views and direct access to the beach. This hotel is within walking distance of several piers and Boardwalk which both have plenty of restaurants and shops. The motel across the street Viking was sketchy and 3 out of 5 nights the policed were there. Overall best western may be a little overpriced but I think most of the hotels beachfront are. I would recommend this hotel.

    « Very Nice Hotel »

I stayed here with my family for 2 nights. The location is great, easy to find and within walking distance of some nice restaurants and the beachfront. The free breakfast is wonderful! The best I've had in recent hotel stays. Our room was very nice and clean. There are 2 heated pools which are great. Overall we had a great experience here.

« Room ok and comfortable but beds need bigger sheets! »

We stayed for one night and the room was comfortable as were the beds but the sheets were too small for the mattresses and so kept coming untucked at the corners everytime you turned over, there was also a rip in the edge of the sheet and in the middle of the top sheet. Breakfast was good and check out excellent with the hotel owner- Jack. Good location across from the beach and lovely pools and hot tub area.

    4
    « Best Western Suites »

we have only stayed here at the suites which are on the beach. It is an older property so some of the things are a bit dated, ex. referring, shower, etc but still better than average. Rooms have a small deck and/or patio with rocking chairs overlooking the ocean and a stones throw from the beach. The hotel next door is a little iffy but we really didn't have any problems. The breakfast is very good, well stocked and maintained. We always find the staff very friendly and accommodating. The only complaint I have is the check in process this last time was abysmal. they had one person doing checkins at 3:00 on a Friday. I stood in line for almost a half hour before a second person came out to help the poor woman who was doing her best to get people through the process.

    3
    « Just Ok »

The room was just ok, WiFi was the best amenity. We booked a "oceanview" room online and called prior to paying. Once we arrived we were told we had to pay additional money to get an ocean view room. The lobby carpet smelled old, but the room was pleasant. I would consider staying here again if in a last minute situation.

    « Handicapped Needs-Lift Access & Roll-In Shower »

Newly renovated 2 room handicapped accessible apartment handled all of my wife's handicapped needs. Wheelchair roll-in shower and Mechanical Lift Access under the bed made my Caregiving responsibilities so much easier. Handicapped accessible rooms (separate Caregiver/Care Recipient rooms-bathroom & bed) were very spacious.

    « Mothers Day getaway »

This was a last minute trip so was limited to availability and was not disappointed! The gentleman working Saturday night was extremely pleasant. They do offer a very nice complementary breakfast with the only draw back being we had Ocean front room so we had to walk across Ocean blvd to the main building to eat. It was a little inconvenient but well worth it. This is an older hotel but very very clean and has had some updates done. Our room came with a full size refrigerator, kitchenware and stove along with an actual dinner style table so one could stock up and eat very cheaply. Sunday morning front desk staff not as friendly in fact was ignored by one staff member and he clearly saw me before ducking to the back room. Staff working breakfast was friendly. Only draw back a bath towel that should have been retired along with the shower curtain. Would however stay there again without hesitation.

    « Nice, but don't leave early »

Overall the place was nice, looks a little better inside than out. It felt like a place that use to be lower quality and then got upgraded. My kids got sick on the trip, and we had to check out a day early. We didn't get a refund, only credit to the same hotel for sometime this year (would be okay if we planned on returning - too far away for that).

    4
« Quaint with great service »

The rooms were well equipped with just about everything we needed (including the option to have a kitchen in our room.) The bathroom was a little small, but still very clean and well stocked with amenities. The staff overall provided great service.

« Great place to stay in Myrtle Beach »

This was our third stay at the hotel since 2013. Every time the owner Captain Jack (my nickname for him) has done a great job treating us like family. He really knows how a hotel should run. We brought our 15 month year old daughter and my wife's parents on this trip to the beach. We highly recommend staying in the ocean front building over the main building. I feel it's the best bang for your buck on the Grand Strand. This is a 3 star hotel but the owner and his staff make it a 5 star hotel with the service they provide to the guests. It's a older hotel but they take care of the hotel so it's not run down by any means. Here are some tips: Make sure to visit Landshark Bar and Grill at the boardwalk for some fish tacos and cold drinks. Iggy's at the boardwalk has the best ice cream and selection. The hotel is only 10 minutes from the boardwalk and 12 minutes from Broadway at the Beach. There is a Food Lion grocery store only 5 minutes from the hotel and if you like a quick meal we recommend Hungry Howies Pizza which is only a couples minutes from the hotel and they deliver. Things that can be improved: The breakfast can be improved with some more variety. Example bacon instead of sausage every day and also I would like to see a dark roast coffee offered for us parents that need some jet fuel to get going in the morning. We reported a broken umbrella at the pool and the gentlemen at the front desk just said I know. Nothing else. Well if you know how about take it down and get a new one. Also the pool was the dirty on this trip and needed a good cleaning. This our just small items and nothing that would make me look for another hotel. Just looking at ways to improve the hotel experience. Thanks for a great week!

    « Family vacation »

I would stay at this hotel again. Our room was very spacious and we loved the pool and lazy river. The staff was super friendly and always willing to help get you what you needed. The only thing that could be better is the breakfast it was the same thing every other day and the rolls were stale. The old lady working the breakfast area wasn't friendly either so we ended up getting our own breakfast the last few days there. I loved the fact when you were at the pool u could see the Palm trees and ocean. We spent all our swimming time at the pool b/c the beach was dirty.

« Great place to stay »

This was our first stay at this facility, and I think we will be back. When we came in on Monday to check in, there were 50 plus people that were sent there by a local airline. The plane could not take off and the people needed to stay another day. There were three people behind the counter doing their best to get these unexpected people in rooms as fast as possible. Jack waited on us. I believe that he is the owner. We were assigned a room on the ocean front building, and on the 4th floor. Our room was very well maintained. We had a full kitchen and the appliances looked like they were brand new. Our view was very nice as well. We enjoyed the rockers on the balcony. The grounds outside were always clean, and we always had a parking spot. Every member of staff they we crossed paths with was very nice. Everything that we needed was close by or just a short drive. My only issue was the pool could have been cleaner. We wanted to use the jacuzzi and the inside pool on two days. The pool and jacuzzi had sand and debris in the bottom. I never saw anybody cleaning or doing pool maintenance. The pool pump and filters never came on. We had the pleasure to see a double rainbow on our last night here. This is a great place to stay.

« Stranded at the Grand Strand Not So Bad »

We were left stranded by Spirit Airlines who cancelled our flight and booked us at the Grand Strand Inn in Myrtle Beach. Although the check in process was painful due to the number of people. The friendly staff and beautiful clean rooms made our stay wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and there was a nice variety of food. I would totally consider coming back and staying in this hotel for an extended vacation. Thank you everyone.

    « Wonderful Treatment »

This hotel is wonderful. Right from the start the owner, Jack, was so good to us. He was calm and professional and funny even though it was a tense time due to a lot of people checking in at once. He checked on us afterward and recommended a restaurant which we loved. The place is so nice with a pool and lazy river. Our room was clean and very, very pristine. We could view the ocean from our room. The breakfast was great with a lot of hot choices. Coffee was great too! Would recommend to all! Loved it!

    « Beach right there »

I was in town for a festival and a long weekend. The room block for the festival was full and I had stayed here a year ago and decided to try it again. I was glad I did. It was perfect for what I wanted. The staff was friendly and helpful with my questions. The room had a private balcony and mini kitchenette in it. The room was big and very clean. The towels were decent. As a special treat, when I went out on the balcony and leaned over I could also see the ocean across the street. [I was not on the oceanfront side but still got a bit of a view.] I was able to enjoy the beach in the morning and head to the festival for the afternoon and evening. Breakfast had a lot of items including sausage, eggs, pancakes, waffles, home fries, breads. My only complaint might be it was a little light on fruit but overall decent breakfast. Parking wasn't a problem except on Saturday night when it was a little tough though I did find a spot. The location was perfect about 5 minute drive from the Sky Wheel and close to restaurants, drug stores, tshirt shops, and yes 2 Krispy Kreme shops. I loved its easy access to get to 17 bypass allowing me to experience the hubbub of the beach but get away from it to get to Legends or the shops/restaurants at Broadway easily if I wanted. My experience was great and I would definitely recommend it as a place to stay.

    « Great value »

Myrtle Beach was just a pit stop on our way to and from Charleston and Savannah. We went with a reasonably priced hotel and didn't expect much. We were very pleasantly surprised! There was free breakfast and parking. The ocean was visible from the hotel and the room was very comfortable. The bathroom is a bit snug, but is perfectly serviceable. Bed was extremely comfortable and the room was nicely decorated. We didn't have the time to enjoy it but the pool looked very nice. Considering the price of the room (below $100) I think this hotel is a great choice.

Truly enjoyed our stay. Beach front room was terrific. Would definitely stay again. The staff were attentive and accommodating. The room was very clean. Terrific view of the ocean from the balcony. The breakfast food was excellent.

« FlIght cancelled; Spirit Airlines put us up at this wonderful facility »

Gracious owner, Jack, brought on more staff to handle 55 rooms of guests who were shuttled there within 1 hour of receiving cancellation phone call from Spirit. Although the line to get room assignment was long, it moved along well given 3 individuals were working behind desk. We were given rooms next to each of two other couples we were traveling with. ice machines worked for 55 additional rooms, pool and lazy river enjoyable. Jack offered a dinner recommendation that was 1/2 mile walk away. This hotel has ocean front and ocean view buildings; additionally standalone cottages and apartments. If you are parents with 3 or 4 children, ask about their single rooms with 3 beds and a kitchenette area. Very reasonably priced, very well kept and decorated rooms. Complimentary breakfast with many hot and cold choices. Excellent value!!!

    « Very Nice Stay »

I had reserved 1 king -Suite which included the sitting area, sofa bed, and kitchenette. The room had up to date décor ,very clean room and bathroom. We also enjoyed the breakfest (typical hot breakfast). We were right across the street from the beach. Will definitely book again when we do return to Myrtle beach.

« Great Place at Great Rates »

My fiance' and I stayed here for a couple of nights. This was our second stay at this hotel. We stayed in a mini king suite. The room size and decor was beyond our expectations. The only issue I had was the bathtub stopper did not seal correctly, which I didn't discover until after I had scrubbed the entire tub/shower. So no relaxing jet tub during that stay. Everything else was perfect. We certainly will return.

« Great Deal on a Three Day Stay »

A three day weekend to visit friends in the Myrtle Beach area led us to the Best Western on Ocean Blvd. It was reasonably priced and although it was across the road from the beach there was beach access and if you wish there is another building on the beach side. We were greeted by Linda who was gracious and knowledgeable. The hotel is very family friendly and has a unique pool kids love. We were given a 2nd floor room with an ocean view and a small balcony complete with rocking chairs. The room was not huge but adequate and comfortable. Also, it appeared to have been recently remodeled, was clean and offered Flat screen, Micro, fridge and usual complimentary toiletries. I should note that electrical outlets are at a premium so you have to be judicious with phone chargers, tablets, etc. This is the beach so expect some street noise from Ocean Blvd. I must add that on our second day my room key card failed to work ( i believe it was compromised by my magnetic money clip) but AL came to my rescue. Al saw me attempting to get in my room. He approached me , verified me as a guest, opened my door with his "pass" key and then went to the office and returned in moments with a working card for me. I saw Al and other employees around the property all day and evening cleaning sidewalks, checking parking lots, etc. and assisting guests as needed. I would definitely recommend the Best Western PLUS.

« Great Location, Excellent Rooms »

The Good - Location, simply brilliant. Right opposite to the the ocean, just cross the road and bam you're at the beach. Remember, there are 2 buildings of this hotel, the actual on-beach is slightly expensive and that's where they have the indoor pool. Staff - Very friendly, just ask them where to visit, they will explain you in detail. The hotel is pretty wide spread but the directions given by the lady at front desk were accurate and easy to follow. The house keeping staff was very helpful too. Pool - Nice pool right in the middle of hotel with a lazy river. Not so deep and perfect for kids. Rooms - Although this is an old property, but very well maintained and renovated. The room was extremely clean and smelt nice. Most rooms are pool facing. Avoid rooms on 1st floor as there are lots of cars buzzing around the parking surrounding the pool area. Rules and Regulations - Hotel follows a very strict breakfast, parking and non smoking policy. Makes you feel safe especially knowing not anyone can loiter in the parking lot. TIP - Remember your license plate number as they need it at the time of check-in. Breakfast - Was just fine. Nothing too good or bad about it. The Bad - Nothing too bad, but they shouldn't shut the pool when it rains. Bathrooms - Nice clean and renovated but too small. Doesn't matter much coz you ain't spending a lot of time inside there ;-) Verdict - Perfect for leisure travellers. Book it without hesitation as the rates are usually better than the nearby hotels of same class. You can literally walk down bare foot to the beach.

It was a last minute decision to stay at a hotel-- so I leaned heavily on reviews and price quotes. I was not disappointed. If you're looking for clean, good price, good location and responsive staff, for me, Best Western Plus Myrtle Beach, SC met all those requirements during my stay.

    « Weekend family getaway »

Took a quick weekend trip to MB for the weekend with the family. Very nice hotel, we had a 2-room suite, one queen bed as soon as you walked in and 2 queen beds in the back room for the kids. Spent some time in the pool but not a lot. Overall, didn't spend a lot of time on property in general though. Breakfast was very good and one of the best we've experienced, as far as continental breakfasts go. Not once did I pass any staff without them saying hi or hello. We don't usually stay that far south into Myrtle, but if we do, we'll stay here again.

    « Great Trip »

Thanks to the Hotel and Staff for a Great get a way for myself, my wife and her parents. Great location for getting around with the crowds and convent to eating and sightseeing. The hotel was wonderful from the time you walked in the front door the staff was there to serve you needs, Fresh coffee and ice water welcomes you in and a friendly " May I Help You?" always was the greeting from the complete staff with a feeling they really meant it. When in the room I find a very clean and comfortable room with all the little touches you can't seem to find in the hotels these days and with strong hot showers and fluffy towels to shake off the day you thought this is a good room to relax, when you think it couldn't get any better, you find the bed has double sheets never having to let the blanket touch you, total comfort with the selection of pillows. What a night sleep!! Time to start a new day can't wait for the fresh juices and hot coffee and a full breakfast. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did ours.

    « Nice but noisy »

The property was well maintained and the room was very clean. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. My only significant complaints are that the internet seemed to be not working or very slow and the noise generated my other guests. I ended up turning off my Wi-Fi and using my cell data for a faster connection. there were certain guests who were definitely not very considerate of those trying to sleep (congregating outside rooms and talking loudly late at night). I understand that the hotel can only do so much about noisy guests. Unfortunately some people either don't care or don't have a clue. I know that this is a hotel by the beach and people are there to have a good time but quiet hours need to be more strictly enforced.

    4
    « Two Buildings »

This hotel advertises two pools but they are in two separate building. The main building to register and eat is on the north side of Ocean and the beach front rooms are across the street and over one lot. This may be important for some who need assist walking. The hotel does everything right to make your stay pleasant. It has an above average breakfast, good size pool towels, nice computer area and a small fitness room. The owner reads these reviews so hopefully he can get the bottom rung to the ladder in the deep end of the indoor pool put back so it can be used to get out. I also suggest a light at the exit door on the first floor stairwell of the beach front building as it is dark. The room was clean. Staff are friendly. We will come back during our next trip here.

« Don't waste your time or money »

This motel is conveniently located on Ocean Blvd, but in all honesty, it was very much overpriced for what you got. The motel room was very small. It was equipped with a "kitchenette" but as my wife noted, the cupboards were empty so even if you wanted to eat in the room, there were no plates or silverware even though it had a microwave and small stove. Being located on Ocean Blvd, it was quite noisy with vehicle and pedestrian traffic into the early morning hours. The one positive thing about this motel is that they did serve a nice continental breakfast which included a good selection of hot and cold items. Unfortunately it is not a place I would recommend to family or friends.

Our family (3 kids) thoroughly enjoyed the convenience of this hotel being on the strip and having great beach access. It was our spring break and it was a calm area of the strip and the beach wasn't packed which was great for us! We enjoyed the indoor pool/hottub and the outdoor heated pool, hot tub and lazy river. The breakfast was plentiful and really good!

« Not sure about all the other reviews »

We arrived after 7 hours in the car. The front desk staff was nice. We carried all of our luggage up to the 3rd floor(no elevator) and our first look at our room was not good. The bathroom had not been cleaned at all. There were sticky pop rings on the TV table and food by the microwave. The cover for the mattress was not on all the way due to a broken zipper. There was also a weird film all over the TV and tables. The office sent up a cleaning person, but decided to have us switch rooms. The next room was even worse. There was actual urine and stool on the floor around the toilet and on the seat. Needless to say we had our money refunded and were fortunate enough to find another hotel that had clean rooms. I was extremely disappointed because I booked this hotel based on the TripAdvisor reviews. I was traveling alone with my two children and if I hadn't been able to find a hotel with rooms available it would have been a long 14 hour ride home. I do have to say that the front desk staff were very apologetic and I believe they did feel bad.

« Good hotel but has issues »

3 night stay over the weekend (off season). Front desk staff great and very responsive. Breakfast was average but staff very nice and kept dishes full and coffee hot. Maid service was nothing but making the bed and taking trash. Dirty towels were removed but not replaced, soap/shampoo/lotion were not replaced, in room coffee not replenished. When lock on door wasn't working (very loose handle, had to use key card 5 or 6 times to work), they fixed in right away. The fix was to remove the deadbolt. View was very good and we were just across the street ferromagnetic beach. Picture on this site is taken from main hotel. They have a second beachfront building but most of hotel, pool, front desk and breakfast are across the street from beach.

I think we hit the jackpot with this location. Yes we were "inland" but our room had a direct view of the ocean. The staff, including maintenance staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient. Our room was more than affordable considering we booked less than 48 hours before we got there. We asked for early check in and they delivered. Very satisfied.

    « Great stay! »

We stayed for two nights at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was attentive and the room was exactly what we needed. We were in the building across from the beach because we needed room for 6. Breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast, on par with other chains. Housekeeping service was prompt and very cordial. Rooms were clean and updated. Shower pressure was low but sufficient. Wifi slows with heavy demand as it does everywhere. I will stay here again with my family!

    « Great Place to Stay !! »

Nice sized rooms, great staff, awesome view of the ocean. We needed housekeeping to come late due to sleeping toddler, which they did!! Everything was fantastic, breakfast was best we had at any of the hotels we've been to.

« Very nice Best Western »

Clean, well decorated room. Good location right across the street from the beach. Heated outdoor pool a hit with kids. Breakfast was very good and good variety. Only complaint was shower head pressure kind of weak and the carpet and tile floor felt slightly tacky-I'm thinking it might of been the type of cleaner they use. Overall would stay again.

I'm writing this while I am still here. First all I booked through a third party site so I was unable to enter my points. Then after check in around 9pm I was given a room on the 2nd floor, upon arrival to room with all luggage, husband and 6 year old I find the room that was given to us was already occupied. We (all of us and luggage) went back to the desk where I informed the desk clerk. It took 10 minutes to convince her someone was in that room already. She then took our room keys and made all of us (with luggage and all) go back to the room to prove someone was indeed in the room. We stopped at the room, she kept asking "this room? This is the room you tried", i said yes, she then says "well its dark, you are sure this was the room you tried". After she insulted my intelligence she tried the door and to our surprise someone was indeed in the room. I was so embarrassed for a 2nd time disturbing the other occupants again. Well then after proof we then went back down to the lobby all luggage in tow to where we stood waiting for them to discover the mix up(about another 15 minutes). We were then given another room and walked up to the room with the same clerk ( im assuming to make sure someone wasnt in that room), She took our keys on the way out (she did bring them back) and she took our check in paperwork with the WiFi code and map with her. The room did not have toilet paper, the phone was unplugged from wall...quickly resolved. One key given still didn't work but at this point I give up. Room was small. Bed comfy. Small bathroom.Grounds are ok. Hallways tight and could use a cleaning. Maintenence men seem to really care about the grounds and watched them checking the pool levels and chemical balance. Outdoor pool warm, hot tube nice, lazy river was cold but the kids enjoyed it. Went to the inside pool and the bathrooms were not attended to. But pool warm. Never saw a housekeeper, room never cleaned nor were we given fresh towels or coffee. All in all ok stay. Not sure worth the price. I did get an apology for the room mix up and a work out ( after being made to walk back and forth to room upon check in).

    « Over Priced »

Planning a last minute weekend getaway. We were unsure about this choice in hotel, but when told that we would be pleased with our stay we decided to book., We were not expecting to enter a room with soiled pillows and dingy sheets . The problem was taken care of, however at the rate we payed, this should never been an issue.

    « Great location & staff »

The location and staff are great. Breakfast food is good, presentation very good and as others have said there is a cramped but manageable setting area. Breakfast staff could not have been more helpful. Very nice group of ladies. Room decor updated and clean except for private balcony. Private balcony rockers and table very dirty from the winter season. In the hotels defense we did not call and complain so they did not have the opportunity to rectify the problem. Bed very comfy. I don't know if all buildings did not have an elevator but ours did not. Just getting over a hip tear I didn't know if I was thankful for the workout or not but it worked out. FYI- If you are using reward points they require you to stay 2 nights?

    « House Keeping »

The stay was ok. Beds were comfortable. Outside isnt very cute. Breakfast were good. We stayed on the ground floor and had an issue with house keeping coming through the back door unexpected. She did not knock and on numerous occasions. We were completely unhappy with that part of the service. For this reason I do not think I will be staying at this location again.

    « A wonderful stay »

This was a mini vacation with our 4 year old grandson. Our stay was very pleasant. The staff was great, the room very clean. The breakfast was delicious. Plenty of food with lots of choices. Will most definitely recommend to others.

Tub backed up with pubic hair, somedays tub not cleaned. We had a suite with coffee maker but coffee never left after the first day. Or toilet paper and tissues. Had to call for extra. No clean towels left on our 2nd to last day there. Breakfast buffet was very nice and so was the staff but that can't make up for the care of our room. Will never stay at this location again

« Great stay at Best Western Plus »

For the value, there's really nothing comparable to BWP in Myrtle Beach. i checked around for different values, even checking on what our time share could do without an exchange. We upgraded to a room across the street by the beach. It's a bit quieter and the rooms are slightly bigger. Breakfast is well-presented, stocked, and compared to other places, it's well done! The staff is very friendly and accommodating to our needs. I would strongly consider coming back here if we traveled again to Myrtle Beach.

    « Worst service. »

After booking to stay here and after 3 phone calls I arrived at the hotel and was told I could not stay due to the fact of everyone in the party being 21 (EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT ADVERTISED). The lady continued to not listen, when I called the travel agency they tried to call this Best Western who would not talk to them because they were "busy" while they were sitting at the front desk in an empty lobby. We were kicked out and told we were not allowed to be on the premise, while also being told we would not receive our refund unless they rented out the room. After multiple tries the next few days of trying to speak to the manager (who would not get on the phone to talk to me or the travel agency) they finally admitted to renting out the room and giving us our refund.

    « Good Value »

This was in a great location right across from the beach. Room was adequate - our bathroom was right off the kitchen which was a bit of a turn off and there was really no living room to speak of - if you wanted to watch tv you had to sit on the beds - there were chairs but the room accommodates 6 and there were only 2 chairs for comfort. And the back bedroom had no windows so ventilation was an issue. Next time would know to ask for two bathrooms and a window in the second bedroom. For the cost, it was great value. Breakfast was great - lots of variety and always hot and fresh.

« Its was great but.. »

The room was great! The staff was great and it was an easy going stay except for the fact that they let me check in when the toilet was clogged.. And I mean it was bad. We had to call them to come and fix it and he did. Then we left for a couple hours came back and went to use the restroom and it was clogged once again so we called them again and we had to keep going upfront to use the restroom(front office). Well I told the front desk what was going on and I also told her he was there but she looked super confused and called him and told him to go over. Well we had multiple people coming in and out of the room so we really couldn't enjoy the stay there. He was there from 9pm to 11:30-12. We did get 10% but that just didn't seem like enough for what I paid for the room and to have people in and out. Other than that it was fine

« Great oceanfront room for a great price »

I was looking for a quick beach get-away and not wanting to spend a lot of money. I had stayed in some other "lower"priced hotels on the Strand and found them to be not very clean, but I've always had good luck with Best Western motels, so we decided to give it a try. Most of the rooms for this Best Western are across Ocean Blvd from the beach, but there is a small building with about 25 or so ocean front room, and we chose one of those rooms (the room descriptions on the website say if they are ocean front, but you need to read closely). The room was fantastic. It had a full kitchen (full refrigerator, stove and oven, microwave, coffee brewer) and two VERY comfortable beds. But best of all it was very very clean. When I feel comfortable in bare feet on the carpet, then it's clean. The balcony came with two rocking chairs overlooking the ocean. Thermostat controlled a/c worked well (although a bit on the noisy side). There is a breakfast that comes with the room every day, and it had excellent choices. My daughter especially enjoyed the oatmeal with toppings the first day, and was slightly disappointed that it was replaced with grits on the second day, but the cinnamon rolls that day made up for it :-) We really enjoyed the tables set up for outside eating. There is a small outdoor pool on the non-ocean part of the hotel and a small indoor pool in the oceanfront building. We did not use either one, preferring the beach instead. If you have children and are looking for a hotel with waterpark like pools, this is not the motel for you, but the pools looked inviting. If I'm looking for another quick run to the beach, I'll definitely come back here.

    « Huge disappointment »

We arrived a couple hours early fir check in. Nobody was at the desk but another guest was waiting. A lady came to the front desk and said " be with you in a second". Twelve minutes later after listening to joking & laughter in the back room, she showed up to deal with the first guest. We gave her our info. Room guaranteed ready at 3:00 p.m. We asked about dining places in the vicinity and were told there was one 2 1/2 miles away. In reality we could have walked 4 blocks for a plethora of restaurants. We returned to the hotel about 3:15 p.m. And the room was "not quite ready". Huge disappointment. The room was average. Towels, s bars of soap in the bathroom with blow dryer. So far not experiencing and Plus" in Best Western. The toilet ran, the glass shelf in bathroom was dirty, the clock on the night table was dirty as well as the lamp. How hard is it to dust? Breakfast was average, no plus. We went shopping the next morning returning about 1:45p.m. to drop off our purchases and clean up prior to meeting friends. The cleaner was in the room but she left when we arrived. She saw us leave about 10 minutes later. We were sure she was returning to finish our room. We got back about 8:00 p.m. Room not done !! Hugely disappointed in the whole experience. Not sure why we would ever use the chain again when there is so much choice out there.

    « Myrtle Beach Marathon »

This was one of the marathon host hotels - reasonably priced and we had no lofty expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised with the clean modern rooms with large balconies right on the beach - and the breakfast was a big plus. Would absolutely make a point of staying here again. Hospitable, helpful staff.

    « Great Service »

Thank you for your service. I appreciated the cleanliness and the friendly staff. My family enjoyed the free breakfast and the pool activities. The location was perfect. It was close to the strip and walking distance from the beach. We liked how the room had two doors so u can can park on either side. I appreciated how the front desk made us aware of our surrounding and when we decided to stay an extra day, they worked with us to keep our room. Thank you again Best Western!

    « Good Stay »

The check-in staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean. The breakfast was good! Overall a nice place for the money. There was only one bathroom in the suite and made getting ready with two couples a little more difficult. I would stay here again but next time traveling with another I would want two bathrooms.

    « Best Western Plus a Hit! »

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was right on the beach, which I loved. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff was wonderful. Reggie checked me in and I was delighted with his friendliness and professional demeanor. He was a joy to interact with and made me feel very welcome. I was checked out by the owner, Frank. He was such a gentleman. Friendly, courteous and extremely affable. He made me feel like I was an old friend and extended such warmth and hospitality.

« Friendly staff, hotel grounds needs update. »

From the moment we walked in we were very well welcomed by the staff, giving us tips about the area. The room (queen) was ok and spacious. Loved the coffee, very good, strong and easy to make. The ground area (stairs, corridors and elevator) needs update and some work. Worth the area. Busy therefore pleasant for those who like it. We would stay in a more reserved area in the future.

    « Very nice! »

This is a very nice place to stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. There are two buildings, one on the beachside and one across the street. I would recommend the beach side if you would like an ocean view but there is still a view of the ocean in the building across the street. Our bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night...slept very well. The breakfast is very good with lots of options, eggs and sausage, cereal, bagels and muffins and fruit and yogurt. The rooms and bathroom were clean with all you need. Just five minutes away by car is a new shopping area with movie theaters and very nice restaurants. Room service was ok, they didn't replenish coffee for the coffee maker a few times but the front desk will have someone bring some to you. We really enjoyed the oceanfront property...sitting on the balcony with a morning cup of coffee. We were on the third floor and it was great.

« Great Stay, Great Service, Great 40th Birthday »

So me and my family came down for my 40th Birthday Bash, and 2 golf outings nearby, we had never been to Myrtle Beach before, we had an ocean front efficiency which which was on the third floor, now the whole hotel is not oceanfront, one building is across the street, that is where you register, eat breakfast, and go to the outdoor pool, outdoor lazy pool, and outdoor jacuzzi, we stayed oceanfront, so right across the street is that building, and wow is it oceanfront, we first checked in and was greeted by Jack who I believe was an owner/operator, or general manager, either way, he was so polite, and gave us many suggestions to answers we asked about the area, you will see him out and about walking the property at least three times a day, that's a good sign, the property is well maintained, the rooms are spotless, and the ocean front room will take your breath away, I encountered one minor issue during the stay called the front desk and within 2 minutes an operations manager was over there solving the problem, the ocean front efficiency has a microwave, kitchen, coffee maker, toaster, and full size refrigerator, it was so relaxing to come back from a day of golf to then sit on the balcony and watch the ocean, awesome!!! I used the indoor pool and jacuzzi also which was your average indoor pool. This property is very well kept and you can see they care. The breakfast in the morning is awesome! Thanks again Jack and staff for a wonderful stay, we'll be back!

    « A great place to stay »

If you are running the Myrtle Beach Marathon, this is the place to stay. Breakfast was available at 4:30 AM for the runners and the bus service picked and dropped off in front of the hotel. Hot showers in the pool area were available to runners who were departing after the race.

    « Pleasant surprise »

Stayed here for the Marathon event. I will definitely stay here again. The breakfast was excellent. It consisted of eggs, sausage, ham, waffles and a lot of other stuff. The hotel even had a breakfast at 4:30am for the runners. Room was clean and very large. The beds were very comfortable.

    « Perfect! »

This is a very cost effective hotel. The room was great. Very large and nice. Our balcony faces the ocean and we can see and hear the waves. The check in staff was so nice and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for families. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, slides, and a lazy river.

« Dated but very nice! »

The Grand Strand has a older side across the street from the beach, and a newer side next to the beach. We stayed at the older one, and it was obviously dated, but updated, but the stay was very comfortable and the staff was excellent! Breakfast was a little crowded in the morning, but the food was very good! Nice comfy beds, and beautiful courtyard and pool area. Would stay again, but maybe across the street.

« Excellent value, great vacation »

Booked the hotel online, got an amazing price. The only issue some might have with the hotel is it is a bit older. Not an issue for me though. The rooms were clean and well appointed (fridge, microwave, coffee etc). There were plenty of towels and they rooms were made up very quickly every day. All the staff, especially Jack at the front desk, were extremely friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is a full buffet with pretty much everything you could ask for. There was a hot coffee urn at the front door that was available anytime for no charge. There is a small fitness room with some cardio equipment and a "universal" type machine that worked surprisingly well. 200 yard walk to the beach.

    4
« Super clean and awesome staff! »

Be sure to stay in the building across the street from the office, (the one on the beach front) we had a non problematic stay with a kind staff and very clean room. Cleanliness is very important to us. We did not take advantage of the free breakfast but it was available and looked nice. Our Ocean Front view was awesome! This trip was in the off season but can't wait to try it during the on season with the family!

    5
    « Extremely friendly & accommodating »

The entire staff was so welcoming and friendly! I had an issue with my room the first night but had arrived so late and was so exhausted that I decided to wait until morning to say anything. I spoke to a lovely woman at the front desk the next day and told her the problem I was having with the room. She went to speak with the owner of the building and came back with an apology and a room upgrade to a suite for my 2nd night! That was beyond my expectations and extremely unexpected. That room was awesome! The breakfast was amazing also.I highly recommend this hotel!

    « Penthouse »

We went with the penthouse this time for our dance convention stay. for the price it was VERY nice. Two porches a large living room, kitchen and two separate rooms. Exceeded my expectations. Food was decent and organized, Jacuzzi was an unexpected plus. Would stay there again. Didn't use the pools because it was February and our day was busy with dance convention. Would come back here again for leisure!

    « Great Stay »

At first looks, you may want to pass this hotel and go to the fancier, newer looking hotels, however, don't let looks fool you! From the outside, this is an older style hotel, however, the rooms are well kept and have been updated. The room and bathroom may be a little smaller than the newer hotels, but the bed is super comfortable and everything you need is in the room. The hotel is very clean, inside and outside. The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. The price we paid was fabulous, especially compared to the bigger, newer hotel across the street! I would stay here again and would definitely recommend this location to any friend!!

    « Good hearty breakfast »

I have to say, their breakfast is probably one of the better stocked ones I've ever seen at a Best Western. They had sausage patties, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, grits, fruit, yogurt, cereals, breads and several waffle makers! The business center had 3 computers and a printer. This allowed us to print our boarding passes before we left. The hotel has 2 buildings on both sides of Ocean boulevard. The complex we stayed in had an outdoor pool. The indoor pool and spa was in the other building - so we had to pass on using that during our stay. The room was clean and pretty accommodating. It had a safe, microwave, refrigerator and a good size TV with HBO! The check in and check out process was pretty straight forward and the polite lady behind the counter, Linda, was as professional as she could be as she explained the additional charge I incurred because I missed the fine print about having teenage kids. All in all, for $100/night (including taxes), it was a really good stay!

    « LOVED THE BREAKFAST! »

The breakfast at Best Western included fresh made waffles and all the fixings for a great country meal! Biscuits and country gravy, grits with bacon & chives. I felt so at home! I really loved Clair at breakfast, she helped me fix my waffle and gave my friend and me a hug! What a real great lady!

« Could be nice we didn't stay, felt unsafe as well as duped by featured picures »

I'm not going to say this is a bad hotel and won't rate as such either as we didn't stay based on the surroundings & people walking around in the parking lot and alley (it's supposed to be a road) that it backed up to we didn't feel safe to stay as soon as a pulled in the lot I received a resounding no we aren't staying here upon questioning as I was adamant with my SO this wasn't the same hotel in the picture, I then found out where our room would be and that finalized our decision. Had I realized that it was an exterior entrance to the rooms I wouldn't have booked a stay here it was late and just trying to find somewhere decent to stay I just looked at the main picture blip on trip advisor and thought it was a nice closed off interior entrance to the rooms hotel on the beach but the picture isn't the regular part of the hotel but the Grand Strand which is across Ocean Blvd at the beach. This may be a great place during season but wasn't getting a good feeling maybe if the area was lighted better in the walking area to the rooms and the parking lot. Needless to say tried to cancel once finding out we wouldn't be in the Grand Strand and was told I was unable to as you have to cancel 24 hours in advance so out fee for the room which is an aggravation especially having stated the reason why we wouldn't be staying. This will definitely be the last time I book a hotel at the last minute site unseen since I feel that at a glance without opening and looking at over a hundred pictures I wasn't shown a correct representation of the hotel. Had we just driven around looking somewhere to stay this would have never registered on our possibility list.

« Too much for the rooms »

The rooms are nice but they are costly. You can not take your breakfast to your room although there dining area is very small. The employees are mostly helpful but you do have to tell them basic things like to change your sheets and bring you more clean towels.

    5
    « Nice place »

Overall for the trip - a pleasant stay in the off season - real value in having 3 working electric car stations - my Tesla enjoyed the juice. The parking spots could have been better outlined but I found them okay.

    « Great spot in the off-season »

I stopped by here in the dead of winter, the temperature in the thirties down to the twenties. The strand is shut down until around the March timeframe. I stayed at the Best Western and had room 2105. This is on the beach side of the property (the main property is on the west side of Ocean Boulevard). The building that houses 2105 has an indoor pool and the room I had was facing the beach. The sliders opened onto a small patio, which in turn opened onto the beach. What I really liked was the full size fridge and oven, microwave and the living room (fold out bed) was cut off from the main bedroom (opening to the patio) by an actual door ... not just distance! I got the room for less than $100 - so I have no idea what this rents for during the season, but if I were staying at Myrtle Beach, this is the route I'd go. As it turned out, the hotel is within walking distance (about three blocks) from Big Daddy's Roadhouse (Steak restaurant), which worked out well, given that everything else down there was closed and I didn't feel like moving the car, once I parked. I'm sure there would be plenty of other options during the season. I think this is a great spot to stay, excellent view of the ocean, right on the sand.

    4
    « Exceeded expectations »

We live near Myrtle Beach and take long weekends there frequently. We've stayed at more place than I could name and the quality varies wildly, price is not always a good indicator. In this case I wasn't expecting much because we got a great price on an ocean view room. We stayed in the newer, beachfront building which was right on the beach with a balcony. The room was classic mid-range and well maintained, plenty spacious, and comfortable. There was even a kitchenette. Breakfast was very good with friendly staff although the breakfast room is a bit cramped.

    « Great Southern Hospitality »

Our family love the cottage environment. We liked feeling like we were home instead of in a hotel room. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I won't forget as our entire family walked by a nice lady cleaning a room she made a point to say good morning to each and every one of us. My dad asked her if she ever gets tired of it and she said "no, I like saying good morning to our customers, it starts their day out right and makes me happy." The breakfast was good and all the staff in the office was professional, very helpful and happy. I said to my husband it was such a joy to deal with nice people and he said "that's why they call it southern hospitality." We are all looking forward to going back!

    « Service Beyond Expectations »

This is a modest, clean, comfortable hotel with the service of a much pricier accommodation. At check-in, we asked for extra shampoo and it was delivered to the room before we could get up the elevator. We had a very early morning flight the next day. The front desk staff offered us a bag breakfast and gave it to us at check-in so we wouldn't have to stop by the desk in the morning.

« very impressed with the cleanliness and amazing staff! »

we were kind of skeptical at first because we haven't stayed to any best western hotel before, but we were very impressed with the place and the service. i'm very picky to what hotel we stay in, first thing i look for is cleanliness of the place and i must say this by far is cleanest hotel we've stayed at in myrtle beach area. the staff are very friendly and we'll always accommodate to our needs. we had a ocean front view hotel, we were in the 3rd floor and the first time i opened the door on our room, the view just took my breath away. it's just amazing. my kids also loved the indoor pool.the parking is not that big but decent size. the only complains i have is first our door keys always had problems. ever since we checked in our door wont work and we have to call the front desk to change it every time. we changed keys pretty much every day the whole we were there but the staff is very helpful and responds right away. this is our new favorite hotel and would definitely recommend it to our family and friends. it's pretty much in the center of the strip. we would definitely be back.:)

    « Sweet suite sweet »

Got an ocean view king suite for Valentines weekend. We have stayed in the other building and been very happy. Since the rooms we like we're all booked up we decided to take a room in rhetoric building on the ocean. Got into our room Friday evening and we're pleasantly surprised. The private sitting area is nice size and provides great ocean view. The king bed is good quality with nice bedding. Kitchen is we equipped for a couple or small family. Coffee pot is the single cup type so if you like coffee bring your own pot. Parking is tight at this building especially with another hotel sharing the lot. We are repeat customers so take that for our recommendation.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on Valentine's weekend. I must say I was pleased for the most part with our stay. The beds were comfortable and our shower was very clean. « Poor Customer Service at check in »

Training for your front desk clerk Linda in excellence in customer service and race relations. She was very rude to my husband and I, who are African Americans. She did not greet us when we walked in the door, actually went back to the office and stood without greeting. A young Caucasian couple was there when we arrived but went to the corner to decide if they were going to stay or not and also were checking their bank account online. My husband asked Linda if she could help us, she rudely told us when she finished with the other couple, who were not even at the desk, had stepped way aside and told her they would come back and let her know if they wanted to stay. She continued to ignore us. Scott came out at this point and was very very polite. He took care of us and actually saved us from leaving at that very moment. While Scott was taking care of us a Caucasian man came in and Linda greeted him and immediately begin to help him. Now the young Caucasian couple was still off to the side deciding whether or not to stay but Linda was able to help the Caucasian gentleman without any problem at all. Now please understand we would not try to get ahead in line of anyone. The young Caucasian couple walked in just before us. They were greeted, told the rate and then they said they had to talk about some things and check their account, they stepped over into the breakfast area. we stepped up to the desk at this time and Linda went to the back without greeting us. we waited a few minutes, the young Caucasian couple was still in the breakfast area. Then my husband asked her if she could help us, and that is when she rudely stated that she was helping someone else. She actually was not. But in any case she was able to help the next Caucasian man that walked in while the young couple was still checking their account and talking on their phone. Other than this my experience at your hotel was really good. This left a bad taste in my mouth. I probably would not recommend my friends, Black, White or Other to stay here because of this one incident. Let me just say I'm only extremely dissatisfied with this one incident. All other hotel staff were absolutely amazing. Scott, Mindy were great!

« Good Price - Not Quite what we hoped »

Indoor pool is only indoor for those oceanfront. If you are not ocean front, you have to cross the street in the cold. Wasn't happy about that in January. Also had a kIng room with kitchen but only one chair for watching TV. I would think that 2 people should be able to watch TV in a king room. Otherwise, clean and a good price.

Wonderful peaceful weekend with friends, Clean quiet ocean front room with full kitchen...bed was comfortable - housekeeping was attentive - loved every minute. Would definitely stay there again. Private balcony with rocking chairs, listening to the sound of the waves, and easy access to the beach for my afternoon run made the mini-vacation pleasant indeed.

« Will do their very best to ensure your stay is good. »

I booked thru the website, not knowing they had two buildings. We drove up for a getaway, and my expectations we to be right on the beach with a view. The first night we were in the second building across the road from the beach (no view), and the room had no carpeting, and was kind of cramped. The next morning at breakfast, we asked Scott at the front desk what we could do to update to a beachfront room, and he was very gracious, got us in a room right away. I thought we might have to wait until after 3:00 pm check in, but we did not have to. All employees were very friendly and helpful, and we were extremely pleased with the service, and the way they did their very best to help us have a great time in Myrtle Beach.

I have very rarely encountered better service than the ones my wife and I received at the Best Western Plus in Myrtle beach. Everything was top notch, from the room, to the staff, to the continental breakfast. Beautiful room, beautiful view, we had a grand time. Made getting stranded for two additional days, due to inclimate weather in NY, a joy!

Everyone was very friendly and the facilities were clean and neat. Patio furniture was located outside each room which would have been very enjoyable if the weather was nice while we were there, but unfortunately it was January and raining while we were there. I definitely would consider staying at this location again if traveling in the area.

Well appointed 3 bedroom unit on the south end of Myrtle Beach. Wrap around balcony gives access to everyone of the incredible view! Living room, dining room, kitchen and three large bedrooms and two baths. Perfect spot for vacation, romantic getaway, or business travel. The staff was top notch- courteous, friendly, helpful! Cannot wait for my next trip to Myrtle Beach and my next stay in this suite...

Stayed at this location many times. Any time there is a problem the hotel staff is ready and willing to help. This hotel allows use of their amenities whether you check in late or decide to stay after checkout. Have always been satisfied with this hotel and is very comparable to Hampton Inn just across the street but receive much better service.

« Great trip to Myrtle Beach! »

My fiance and I went to Myrtle beach at the beginning of this month for a little vacation. It was awesome! The hotel was a great choice. It wasn't far away (located right on the beach) and it was a great price. The staff all seemed very friendly and polite. There was even a free breakfast each morning in the lobby! Our room was very clean and tidy. The only downside was that the shower was pretty small. Other than that, we had a great experience and a wonderful time! P.S. The indoor hot tub was a great addition to our chilly nights!

    « Great 2 Night Stay »

Lovely hotel with everything we needed for our 2 days in Myrtle Beach. When we arrived in our room, we found the in-room safe was locked and called the front desk; in just a few minutes someone was at our door; Jack R, the owner, arrived and had the repairman there to exchange the faulty safe at once. He also chatted with us and gave us some background info on the hotel and on Myrtle Beach. The breakfast is also very good; variety of items to choose from, very clean dining room and food display, constantly monitored for anything needed. Ate to the limit both mornings. Our room was also very clean and comfortable. Bed was great! We had everything we needed in the room and it was so clever that the open closet (in most hotels) was covered by a door that had a full-length mirror on it. The room decoration was simple and tasteful. The front desk was very helpful in guiding us to some of the places we needed to go; negotiating the strip up and down the Strand was difficult and places hard to find but the directions given were simple and a map was provided to us. Mindy was helpful too at check-out; she tried to get my points applied but I could not remember my password or didn't have my member #, so she advised me as how to go about it after I got home. Just a great hotel; definitely will return when I come back to Myrtle Beach.

Hotel was an older property but everything was well kept and in working order. The room decor was up to date and very nice. Needed a mobility accessible room and this was the only propertty that accomodated.

Wonderful for family, only thing I did not approve of was the floor , we have a 3 year old. Other than that a lovely place. The floor is made of marble brick so we had to make sure that the baby wasn't running to fall and get hurt.

    « A+ or C... »

My wife and I have stayed at this establishment twice in the last couple of years... The first time we were celebrating our anniversary and got a room at the Oceanside building and we absolutely loved it...had to have been one of our best beach visits ever... But then this year to bring in the New Year we decided last minute to take a trip to the beach and when we used trip advisor it showed this place and obviously we were quick to book remembering how great our last stay was and the reviews were really good so we booked a room for four( two adults and two kids)... Well this is where it kinda went south...The room we got this time was not what we had in mind...it was in the building across the street and had a eye strain view of the ocean at best... The room was fairly clean upon first inspection but it's obviously an old building and there were issues the doors wouldn't close quite right and the heat/air units were terribly noisy and the longer we stayed the less we liked it...you can tell that the staff tries but I honestly think that for the money we paid three stars is a bit high...but I actually chatted with the owner at breakfast and he's a super super nice guy who is very personable... I'm sure if I had made a huge deal about it he would have tried to make things better, but our family tends to be tolerant... I contemplated even writing the review but I felt like I may be able to save someone's vacation by pointing out that there are two buildings that are ,in our experience, on two ends of the spectrum...

Great hotel. The rooms was very clean, the beds were comfy, quiet, roomy. The receptionist when we checked in was very fast and efficient. I would definitely stay here again. Did not wake up in time for the breakfast, so I can't comment on that.

    « Great hot breakfast »

I had never been to Myrtle Beach before and checked out hotels on Trip Advisor. After reading reviews on this Best Western, decided to take a chance. We were very pleased and would stay here again. What I enjoyed the most was the full breakfast offered daily. I travelled with my son and three grandsons and breakfast was a money saver. We had a two bedroom suite that had three beds along with a full kitchen, this was great for drinks and snacks. Our suite didn't have an ocean view but since it was winter, that was okay. My grandsons took advantage of the gym daily. All in all this was a decent hotel. The only complaint was that the lobby eating area for breakfast was very tight, it really needs to be enlarged. I would hate to be there in season trying to find a seat to eat since you can't take food back to your room.

The ocean front room was in a prime location. The Jacuzzi and indoor pool were awesome. I love Best Western free breakfast! the parking lot was easy to get in and out of. It was the perfect location for a winter/new year getaway.

everything so far so good, the hotel very very clean ,confortable beds and good breakfast. the only problem was the indoor pool, my kids expected warm water (winter- new year) but it was cold water, i guess there is something than the hotel MUST IMPROVE.

« Very Good Hotel for Family »

We stayed at this Hotel on 12/28 and I am very impressed with the staff. We were in the Ocean front building and had a private balcony with an awesome view of the Ocean. The beach was right across the balcony with private access. They serve an EXCELLENT breakfast. The lady helping with breakfast is so friendly and caring...we loved talking to her. The owner of the hotel, Mr.Jack, is just simply an awesome person. In my opinion, there are many many other hotels, but what will bring me back to this place with my family and friends:- 1.) the familiar comfort of Best Western 2.) the AWESOME Staff at this hotel Mr. Jack - thank you for everything and we will be visiting during Summers for a longer period.

    « OK Hotel »

This was an OK hotel stay. The night staff could have been better. I didn't like that I can only take a prepared breakfast back to my room. If I want my choice of foods I must eat in the office area. Smoking is not permitted even on the balcony of your room. The price is higher than the same hotel at North Myrtle with much friendly staff.

« Great view, breakfast, and staff!! »

Stayed two nights and had a great time. Clean and comfortable, with a very helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have seen at this type of hotel. Ocean view rooms are well worth the extra $$$. I will definitely return to Best Western Myrtle beach.

« Good value for winter »

We stayed in the main building but were just across the street from the beach. Indoor pool and hot tub were great. We chose a one bedroom suite. Small kitchen but adequate. The living room was smaller than believed on the photo but was adequate. Friendly, helpful staff. The two women who handled the breakfast did a wonderful job and were talkers. We had a few problems were resolved quickly. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Great Ocean Front Room !! »

We stayed here for four nights on vacation. Had a King Bed suite on "ocean front" in Ocean side building (across street from office and rest of hotel). Great view on or above the third floor. Staff helpful & friendly. Room cleaned well daily. Extremely good value for ocean front ! The free breakfasts were good to very good. Free wifi quite reliable !

    « Extremely nice folks »

Room nice and clean, beautiful overlooking the ocean, pool and hot tub extra nice. Nice hot shower, water pressure a tad lower than what I like, but still fine, large tv, stable wifi, cozy spacious rooms with nice AC (note: get used to the ac controls. They will freeze you if you ain't careful.) Larger kitchenette with full size fridge, stove, microwave. Highly recommend!

    « Clean & Friendly »

Stayed here in October 2015 for a 3 night getaway stay with spouse. Had the Oceanview room across the street from the Main Building and the outside pool. Room was very clean, and spacious. Hot breakfast had eggs, potatoes, waffles, yogurt, fruits, juices, coffee, toast, etc. Small area in the lobby Main Building for breakfast. You will have to walk across the street to get to breakfast if you are in the Oceanview Building. Staff is extremely friendly, met a lot of great employees, Reggie, and Scott at the desk, and Jack Robertson who is the owner. He is very attentive to his property, and takes a big interested in making your visit the best!

    « Beach location »

There are two buildings. One on the street side, which has the pool and lazy river, and one across the street right on the beach which are condo style-all facing the ocean. Private balcony, a little on the small side. We had a separate bedroom, and kitchenette. The tightest bathroom. Living room with a pullout sofa bed-ask for a duvet or bedspread to add some padding to it, but they are all pretty hard like that. The ocean views are beautiful. Try to ask for the 4rth or 5th floors for the better views when booking. Breakfast is included-although we never made it. It's only available until 9:30 and you can't bring anything back to the room. No restaurant on site but plenty of choices within the vicinity. Overall an enjoyable beach stay.

    « Very nice »

Stayed in the older building, which was very nice and they have a newer building across the street. Our unit had a kitchenette and was very clean and comfortable. Would stay there again. There are hundreds of hotels in MB, like to stay with the Best Western brand to earn points.

i don't review hotels often but this one deserves recognition. From the check in process to the breakfast this place was a pleasant experience. far more value than expected. We stayed in Ocean front suite. Room was clean, well appointed, great TV and VCR, awesome shower and a really comfortable bed all for a reasonable price. What more could you ask for? I really can't think of anything negative about my experience

    « Clean and courteous. »

Since we were in the area for a softball tournament, we didn't need to stay on the beach, so we booked a room across the street for a cheaper rate. Staff was friendly and our room was large, bathroom was small, but both areas were clean. Didn't use the pools at either location, but they looked good size and well maintained. Recommend if you are looking for a stay in the south end of Myrtle Beach.

    « A gem in Myrtle Beach »

I chose this motel from the "Plugshare" map because I drive a Tesla and needed a place where I could charge while I slept. Much to my surprise, what I found was a wonderful, clean and immaculate room with wonderful sleep quality. The continental breakfast was an upgrade from most. The owner here, Jack, was instrumental in helping me gain range security. Thanks Jack!

« Good view close to beach »

This hotel has good views very close to the beach...if you book in the oceanfront building. The hotel is comprised of 2 buildings with front desk and breakfast across the street from oceanfront building. A bit inconvenient especially since hotel does not allow food to be taken back to your room to enjoy on your patio. Just can't quite understand that "rule". Housekeeping was minimal at best. During our 3 night stay we got clean towels, bed made and trash emptied. No toiletries were replenished or floors swept or mopped. Considering we were on first floor just steps from sand our floors did get sandy and dirty. We are Rewards members for years and expected more. In retrospect I believe other hotels might offer more for the same price, especially off season.

The hotel is a little older but felt clean and the bed was comfortable. We stayed across the street but there's a crosswalk for easy access to the beach. This section was quiet and we wished there were more restaurants/night life within walking distance. If you are looking for a quiet place driving distance to the boardwalk then this is a good place and a good price.

His personal attitude towards smoking and smokers is causing a loss of business. I don't prefer to smoke in my room, but I also don't want to have to be in a parking lot or on the beach to enjoy a smoke at 2 or 3 oclock in the AM. I will not do business with BEST WESTERN again if all locations have no smoking on balconies policy.

This was our first stay in Myrtle Beach it was beyond our expectations. The staff goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome. Breakfast was amazing. Was truly amazed that they had lift chairs for pool & hot tub. My husband has a prosthetic leg so this was a bonus. Our first vacation to beach since his accident.. Was in the lazy river & hot tub almost all of vacation . Thumbs up to U for this alone. Upon leaving front desk person we can also get a special wheelchair for the beach to use while there. So we will definitely be back next year. Loved everything about this hotel.

A great place to stay, with attentive staff. And the views from the oceanfront property were fantastic. Love having a balcony with a view of the ocean and two ricking chairs. Very relaxing. The only problem was a balky cooling system that left us cold when it was in operation and sweating when it was not, but it hardly spoiled our visit.

This place is what vacations are all about.
