« Boiling rooms, poor location, unfriendly staff »

Stayed here recently, hotel is in poor location, didn't feel like it was even in Munich. A friend accidentally damaged something and bar and reception staff were very intimidating about it. Rooms were scorching, no a/c just a measly fan. Avoid like the plague.

    « Mediocre at best »

I stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend during my recent stay in Munich... The hotel rooms do not have air conditioning, are run down and have uncomfortable beds and small bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is 19 Euros each, even though marketed as a hotel with breakfast included. The only upside to this hotel is it is somewhat conveniently located in the Kabul market area, which is a 5 min walk from the train main station. However it is a 5 minute walk through dirty streets filled with strip clubs, gaming houses, shisha bars and beggars. The price is affordable, however you certainly don't get the Bavarian vibe at this location.

« Worst customer service ever. »

We stayed in Best western for 3 nights over the weekend all started out okay until a very rude member of staff (Mr.chow) started his shift behind the bar. A lamp was knocked over and Leslie was absolutely wild screaming into my friends faces and called the police. We got billed for the lamp 700 euro it was unbelievable but as Mr chow pointed out it was a piece of art shame he knocked it over.

    « Great location »

A nice hotel, room was large and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. It is in a great location. You can walk to the old town easily and it is only a few blocks for the train station if that is your preference. If you are driving, you need to prebook parking not stated on BW website, otherwise you park a few blocks away.

« A wonderful hotel let down by location »

We stayed in the hotel on a girls holiday in April 2018. The hotel is located about a 5 min walk from the main train station. We arrived late and as two young females, felt extremely unsafe making the walk as the local area is crawling with lots of young men, drunken homeless and many suspicious characters. The hotel itself could not be faulted. Clean, friendly staff, sizeable room. We didn't have breakfast. There's not much immediately around the hotel in terms of bars and restaurants. It is a Turkish area so the food, supermarkets and shops are all Turkish.

    « December 2017 »

This was our annual Christmas Market holiday. We always try to stay at the Best Westerns as you know what you are getting and we have never yet been disappointed. This year was no different. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the train station. The eaiest way is to leave the station at the exit adjacent to Starbucks. Cross over the main road and walk down Goethestrasse to the 2nd junction which is Landwehrstrasse. The hotel is on the right hand side of this junction, across the road. The hotel reception is facing you as you walk through the 2nd entance door. The staff are very welcoming and speak excellent English. Some reviews have mentioned that the reception staff were unhelpful, but in our case, this was certainly not correct. They were more than willing to answer any questions and advise the easiest way to find the markets. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned on a daily basis. The breakfast is all you can eat buffet style, with a choice of hot or cold items. The restaurant staff are plentiful and there is never a delay in them clearing away your used dishes. The entrance foyer has a plentiful supply of leaflets for things to do.

« Nice hotel! Close to Oktoberfest »

Excellent location, we were extremely satisfied with our stay. Staff is really friendly and they speak several languages. Very easy access from the train station and very close to Oktoberfest fair. They also offer an option with breakfast included.

    « Business trip »

Hotel with a huge number of rooms but quite central in Munich. Staff is really helpful, location quite noisy. The breakfast is really generous, there is a big issue with the parking if you arrive bt car.

« Good location and nice staff »

It's very well located, 10 minutes from city center, 8 minutes from central station, metro and tram. Very clean, with very nice staff and service. Any advice of doubt that you need to clarify, they are available with all the info you need. Also, they have an excellent breakfast ??!

« Clean, modern hotel within walking distance to Oktoberfest grounds and train station. »

I booked this hotel through a travel agent for Oktoberfest, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. It was only a few blocks from train station and even closer to the Wiesn. The room was modern and spacious. The bathroom had double sinks and a modern shower. The breakfast was also really extensive and delicious.

« Central place, nice staff »

Nice, clean hotel, in walking distance from the main station, in a somewhat multicultural neighborhood. The rooms are functional but small, the coffee-maker saved us, breakfast was ok. Only negative point: The wireless was unstable in the room we stayed, difficult if you have to work .. The breakfast was very much OK. Staff excellent and very helpful

    « It's ok »

The hotel itself is quite modern and clean. The staff are friendly and very responsive. The rooms are well laid out although somewhat on the small side when compared to most North American hotels. Some rooms are smaller than others, as we had a top floor room where the roof sloped and one had to hunch over to get to the bed. In addition, while the hotel is 6 floors, the elevator only goes to 5. I f you have allot of luggage good luck. My biggest issue is the location. While it is walking distance to the main train station and is surrounded by a number of restaurants, the neighbourhood around the hotel appears sketchy and we certainly were nervous if we were out after dark! I would be very cautious about bringing kids along if it got late.

    « Good Stay »

The room was tiny, by U.S. standards, but very clean. We enjoyed the in-room coffee and tea station very much. The internet access was adequate. The hotel is not right next to any attractions, but it is only two blocks from an underground train stop, which is helpful Look for the huge church - that's where the train stop is! (It would have helped us to know that when we arrived. We walked from the Hauptbahnhof, dragging our suitcases. Breakfast was expensive, so we did not buy it. A couple of bakeries are nearby, so that is where we got our breakfast.

« Comfortable hotel, 10 minutes from ce tre »

This hotel is comfortable and reasonable priced. Staff were excellent. We didn't use the restaurant facilities as we preferred to walk To town. It's a good 10-15 minutes to the centre. We are not adverse to a walk and actually prefer it but the area this is located in did feel a little uncomfortable at night. We were part of a large group and had absolutely no trouble and felt fine in daylight. The beds are comfortable but our room faced the street and because the curtains weren't great quality and didn't fit the window entirely it did disturb our sleep with street and shop lights shining through and early morning daylight. Overall it was a fair place to stay as a big group and served our trip well taking into account all of the above.

« Nice staff and breakfast but tired decor »

Couldn't fault the staff here who are all really friendly, and the breakfast was nice. The rooms could do with a revamp though. Very old decor and all feels a bit cheap and tired. Dark carpets which had stains on, bathroom has the feel of student accomodation, tea cup had a hair in it and only milk powder provided. The lobby looks very luxurious but doesn't match with the rooms, we were just a bit disappointed as booked for a special occasion and the room just felt a bit grim. Saying that, good location as I say staff were great.

« Small rooms, convenient location for Oktoberfest »

We stayed at the Best Western Atrium in September for Oktoberfest and we found it to be clean, modern, and best of all, very convenient to the fest grounds. The short walk back to the hotel after a few liters of beer was well worth the festival rates we paid. The rooms were a little on the small side, with very little space to maneuver between the bed and the other furniture in the room. That said, we loved the blackout shutters and the bathroom amenities, hotel bar, and the courtyard were all very nice. The walk from the Hauptbanhof ended up being a little on the long side, especially with luggage in tow, but not too terrible. There are some small cafes in the neighborhood, but they are mostly middle eastern, which made some of our group happy but left the pickier eaters struggling to find something they liked.

« Great location, Clean, Friendly »

We stayed here at the last minute when our air bnb didn't work out during Oktoberfest. It is by far the nicest Best Western I've ever seen. It was very clean with good space and ammenities. It's a great location close to the train station, Oktoberfest grounds, and a 10-15 min walk to Marienplatz. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

    « Excellent location »

We booked this hotel and we were not disappointed location wise it was fabulous in walking distance of everything. The staff were fantastic a pleasure to deal with. It was located 10 minutes from the Oktoberfest grounds which was a plus. The only downside was that I found the breakfast at 14 euro per person was a bit steep. The other point to mention is try to book a bedroom to the back of hotel as it was extremely noisy out the front. The bedroom was extremely hot no aircon in our room. The maids were exceptional clean towels and toiletries every single day without fail.

« Great location and helpful staff »

My wife and I ended a two-month tour of Europe (14 countries) with 4 days / 3 nights at Best Western Atrium in Munich during Oktoberfest celebration. We had stayed at many great hotels during our European odyssey. The Best Western Atrium wasn't "great" but it was a good hotel in a great location to Marienplatz and boasted a helpful staff. Our room was large with great natural light facing the courtyard. Room was clean. Hallways were adequately lighted. Bed was comfortable and bathroom well lit and good sized. Housekeeping did a great job whike we were there. Did not partake in pre-paid breakfast which many reviewers have praised on Trip Adisor. Neighborhood was flavored with Turkish and Greek restaurants. Didn't feel unsafe but there were some interesting characters in the neighborhood. Only disappointments were having to haul our own luggage to lobby when desk man said he was only person on duty at 6:15 a.m. and that the snack machine in the hotel robbed me of 2,50 Euros. Otherwise our stay was pleasant. We would not hesitate to stay at the Atrium again if we return to Munich.

    « Downtime in Munich »

This hotel is ideally suited near Munich central. Three minute walk to the main station (Munich Hbf) and 15 minutes to Marienplatz. Comfortable and efficient. We had a room overlooking the small atrium which was used mostly by smokers which meant leaving the windows open at night wasn't always an option. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Breakfast was worth the €14. Wifi was fast and check-out was at midday. Location meant that it was easy to access bakery / Turkish / Greek / Asian / German shops and restaurants without requiring a taxi. At night the streets were busy with locals and some people would find it uncomfortable. Tastefully done decorations. Would go back.

    « Fantastic breakfast »

The Best Western Atrium Hotel is a nice clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Delicious buffet breakfast. There is a nice outdoor garden area. Lovely lobby and bar area. Only negative was that there was no air-conditioning or fans in the rooms.

    « Nice stay here »

Room was very clean and comfortable. Being an older Hotel there is only air conditioning in the lobby and breakfast restaurant. Not in the rooms. It was 30C in Munich the past 3 days so the rooms are hot, make sure you sleep with the windows fully open. No screens on the windows but no insects to worry about at this time of year.

« Centrally located with decent amenities and good breakfast »

With the HBF station just a 10 minute walk from this hotel we could reach most places comfortably well. The rooms though not extravagant are spacious enough for a couple. We had a room facing the garden so it was a pleasant stay. The hotel staff is courteous and eager to help. Good breakfast spread even for a vegetarian. I would definitely recommend this place purely for the hassle free experience that we had

« All around disappointing stay »

I was expecting such nice things from this hotel when browsing the photos online... We arrived late afternoon. We had had a nightmare journey here because the S-bahn was closed and we had to get a taxi 41km, as you can imagine I was hot and a little tired. We were greeted in a very lovely and cool (important!!) reception. The gentleman told me the room hadn't been paid for which didn't sound right to me as i had put my own debit card against the room and I was told it would be taken out before the hotel stay... anyway, I gave my card to the gentleman and just wanted to get to the room. When going to the room I noticed by the time we got to our floor (4) that the temperature had doubled and it was really stuffy, I just thought this was down to me being hot from the journey. Oh no... we went into the room and immediately noticed how small it was, there was about a foot of room all around the bed. We tried to find the air conditioning but couldn't... the air con turned out to be a fan. This would become the worst thing about the stay. I checked the receipt and the gentleman charged us €100 over the room price. I was hoping things would get better at this point. We spent a total of 5 nights there and on 3/4 of these nights I woke up in a pool of my own sweat. We tried everything to cool down over these nights but in the end I had to soak a towel and then cover myself with it. It was cooler outside than it was inside and as there was a heatwave across Europe it was reaching highs of 38 degrees Celsius. My question to the hotel is this... why is there air con installed in your reception area but not in the rooms themselves? It completely ruined my stay.

    « Avoid - Beware »

Room was small and stuffy, no air-conditioning which made it hard to sleep. 5 mins from Central Station but we had to pass numerous beggars on our way to the hotel. No nice restaurants nearby and food choice limited at hotel (although we had a pizza which was very nice). On leaving, we were accused by a staff member of having one of the hotels adapters and they were requesting €30. We had our own chargers so did not require one from the hotel. Apparently some guest requested a charger and it was allocated to our room number. This played out in front of other guests in the hallway and was defamatory in the extreme.

« Okay place to stay »

Pros- - Close to the train station - Excellent Breakfast - Clean and tidy room Cons- - The neighborhood - Frequent yelling and noise in the streets all night with window open - Many men (some not giving off a friendly vibe) hanging about the street corners and doorways in the neighborhood create an intimidating environment, especially for women (my wife was not pleased). - I was there in July with 30C temps. There is no AC in the hotel. Would I go to this hotel again? Definitely not in the summer. Probably not any time else. We were not threatened or approached by anyone in the neighborhood, but it did not feel secure and created stress when walking to and from the hotel.

« Nice place to stay in Munich »

We chose the Atrium Hotel because of its proximity to the Hauptbahnhof since we were arriving and leaving by train. The hotel is an easy walk from the train station even with luggage and easy to find. The hotel itself is quite nice inside and the rooms are very clean and quiet. I was afraid it would be very hot because it doesn't have ac, but you can open the window at night and there is a fan in every room which made it it tolerable. Breakfast was the best breakfast ever. The staff are very friendly and accommodating

« Cute, affordable, central location »

As a solo traveler, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find a hotel to fit my budget in such a large city. Best Western came in just under budget, and their business room was perfect for one person. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was modern, the breakfast wasn't terribly expensive considering it had plenty of North American and European options, and I couldn't beat the location to the Hauptbahnhof since train was my favorite form of transport on this trip. Their courtyard was cute, and if I was visiting longer I might have used it. My only criticisms are the absolute lack of air conditioning, and the fact the fridge doesn't keep anything cold enough to last more than a day, if it requires cold temperature to keep. I'd stay here again, but maybe not at the height of summer.

« Alright for one night stay. Neighbourhood not good. 10mins walk to train station. »

The hotel reception looks nicer than the hotel Room. Higher floor better, as facing the street side can be noisy, if you live in the first floor. Hotel bed is nice. Bathroom is not new. The corridor may scare some people who afraid of dark. The neighbourhood is not really nice.

    « Good Hotel »

This is a generally good hotel with friendly staff and a nice modern reception and bar area. The breakfast was very good with a large selection. The main thing that lets the hotel down is the lack of air conditioning in the rooms which made sleeping in +30 degree heat very difficult.

« Not again in summer! »

The hotel is ok. The surrounding area, although seems safe enough, is not the nicest & a tad questionable. My biggest complaint is there isn't any air conditioning!!!!! Not one decent night sleep even with them giving us 2 fans to use. I got showered just to start sweating before I got out of the room..... The room was clean & comfortable otherwise.

    « Fantastic stay »

The stay was perfect. Room has all the facilities you can possibly need, comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom. Staff is professional. Breakfast was also super ( the best we ever had ) and the service was amazing. Will definitely stay in this hotel again. Would recommend it highly. Some people may be disappointing with the neighborhood, however we never had problem.

« Not at all worth it »

Not only is the location of the hotel seemingly shady and unsafe, but the hotel itself is a sheer disappointment. The rooms are cramped and stuffy. There are NO ACs and hence, NO VENTILATION in the rooms. The only way to get air circulation is to open the window and bare with the noise on the street. They don't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste. The only thing good about this hotel is that it's close to the main train station but it's definitely not worth the price.

« Nice modern hotel with not so nice front desk staff »

The hotel is handy to the train station and several long blocks from town center. The rooms are quite large and well done. But note: no A/C! And it was getting warm in early June. The "not so nice" part was the front desk staff our evening of arrival and second night. He seemed off put when we brought in our bicycles upon arrival but did point the way to the outside area to park them. The second evening, when the garage was closed, he seemed to chastise us for again bringing our bicycles into the lobby, saying we should ask to have the garage open. This is information that was never given to us. Then he barked out, "not there!" when he thought we were taking our bikes to the atrium and not the garage. These moments are in contrast to the wonderful warm reception we've received throughout the country over the last 2 weeks. By the way, our bikes are not cheap - $3,000 each - and we don't like to leave them on the street to go into a hotel. The hotel is in a Turkish ethnic neighborhood, which is interesting and certainly not concerning but has less German ambiance. Also, because the neighborhood population appears primarily Muslim, stores in the area don't seem to carry alcohol if you want to buy your own.

    « Central location »

We liked this place very much.Very good breakfast and good location. The staff was more than helpful.Tip We used a cab to the Lufthansa bus at the main train station.About 11 Euros. The Lufthansa bus leaves every 15 min and it takes about 15 min to the airport 11 Euros a person

« Ok Hotel for Short Stay »

I had a room facing the inner garden so the room was quite. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable but I would wish for a larger duvet. The bathroom was of good size and also clean. The breakfast was good with good variety of food. The hotel is close to the railway station and about 10-15 minutes walk to the heart of Munich city centre.

    « Really good hotel »

A large room with space for suitcases, wardrobes for clothes and other things. Even space for yoga. The bathroom was also spacy enough for us I think the room had all the things I find necessary, like electric kettle, coffee, tee and nice cups to drink from and armchairs and a table. Refrigerator and safe. Good lighting. The breakfast was very good with something for all tastes. From the hotel we could walk to the train station and to restaurants and the sights of the city. It was only one thing I did not like and that is the wall to wall carpet. I prefer a floor you can clean.

« Beautiful hotel in the middle of a bustling urban area »

I stayed at this hotel the last night of a 10 day trip to Munich & Prague. My primary reason for selecting this hotel was it's proximity to the main train station. The neighborhood between the train station and hotel is a little on the seedy side (similar to the neighborhood outside of Port Authority in New York City). I wouldn't recommend a single woman walk it alone with suitcases in tow. My recommendation is to take a cab to the hotel. That said, the contrast once you walk inside the hotel is wonderful. The hotel is clean and modern. They have a nice courtyard, which is amazingly quiet. It's hard to believe you're in the middle of an urban center. Similarly, the rooms are very clean, modern and very quiet because they face the courtyard. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and helpful. They have a great breakfast buffet with something for everyone. I will definitely stay at this hotel the next time I'm in Munich.

    « Toiletries! »

Be sure to bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush - as I couldn't find them in the bathroom, I called down to front desk and inquired about it to be delivered. The girl told me that after checking with housekeeping (I was on the phone, she did not put me on hold and she basically just asked her colleague...), they are out of stock and are expecting delivery to arrive today or tomorrow. Ridiculous! Even for a low-budget hotel like this.. beds were terrible and not even fixed properly and constantly moving! I've slept better during camping trips on rock floors. For the toiletries, I had to run out and buy them - no shops besides casinos and whorehouses and vegetable shops! I was late for my meeting and brushed me teeth in a public toilet at the main station (closest shop open: Rewe ToGo in basement of main station)! Not worth the money nor a good review! AVOID THIS HOTEL!

« Clean, close to train station »

This hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the train station, making it easy to get to. It's in the middle of middle eastern/Turkish area, which some review have said felt dodgy, but honestly felt totally fine, even at night. There are lots of donair shops and there was a window full of gorgeous baklava down the street. There's not a ton to do right around the hotel, but it's easy enough to get into the heart of the city from there. Our room was a standard double, though it was two single beds pushed together, not one larger bed. The bed was comfortable enough, and the pillows were good. The room had a little wear and tear but was clean and a good size. There was a mini fridge, but no safe in the room. There's no laundry at the hotel but there's a great laundromat right around the corner (City SB - Waschcenter). There's excellent wifi, and a ton of tv channels in multiple languages. The lobby is clean and bright, and there's a lovely little courtyard out the back. The complementary breakfast is excellent, one of the best I've ever had at a hotel! A huge variety of hot and cold options, pastries, fruit, and good coffee. The breakfast alone, and the nice quiet room would make me recommend this hotel.

« Wonderful hotel and huge breakfast buffet »

The hotel was clean and quiet, the staff was courteous and helpful (particularly for things to see and do in the area), the buffet has to be seen to be believed (a massive selection of breakfast and lunch items, drinks, etc). The hotel was within five minutes walking distance of the city's main train station and ten minutes away from many of the city's main attractions. Price can't be beat. Very much enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

    « Clean and efficient »

Just stayed for 3 nights. The location is handy for the main station. The rooms at the front of the hotel are quite small and always hot at night even wit the window open! Ask for a quiet room that faces to the inner courtyard. The breakfast is excellent, very fresh and lots of choice. Did not really see many staff so could not say whether friendly or not.

« Very good location and service »

The hotel has good location, close to subway station, central station and on 15 minutes walking distance from the city center. It is very clean, hotel serves quality breakfast and most importantly has great staff. The front office is very helpful, friendly and nice. Special thanks to Mr. Terzi and lady in the front office (I do not remember the name...) Recommend the place to other travellers.

« Simple and comfortable hotel »

I stayed 3 nights and travelled with 4 colleagues. Great hotel near to the central station. Reception and bar area are very nice. Rooms are simple and mine was spacious. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Food at the hotel was very good and breakfast choices were extensive. Staff were very helpful and wifi was good too.

« Not a great fan of the room decor, but nice place »

The Best Western Atrium Hotel is a pretty nice place. I there overnight with a colleague recently on a visit to the Electronica show. I don't really have all that much to say about this place, because it made for a quite comfortable stay. My only gripe with the place was the price, but it's no worse than most other hotels in the area, so there's not much changing that. The size of the room was sufficient, and large enought for two people to be able to move around, without being in each others way. The room and bathroom appeared to be clean. The beds were quite comfortable. The TV worked well, and had a fair amount of channels, though I could have used a Discovery/NGC or similar, and/or a few more English languaged ones. The breakfast was nice. The service at the frontdesk was efficient. The decor of the lobby and breakfast room was nice enough. The decor of the room was a bit spartan for my taste, but you get what you need for a comfortable stay. The location in Landwehrstr. is within walking distance of the Hauptbahnhoff (about 650m) and also Marienplatz (about 1.5km). Be aware that the area is somewhat "ethnic", and that you can find stripjoints in the area too, in case this should bother you. I've stayed in the area several times before, and I've never had any problems in the place, so I'd recommend not to let it bother you. Would I stay there again? It wouldn't bother me the least.

    « Pleasant stay »

Had a pleasant and superb stay from 22-23 Oct 2016 at Best Western Atrium Hotel (Munich). If possible, please reconsider having a toilet spray/ jet spray/ health faucet beside the commode (WC). I noticed that some of the hotels in Europe have started incorporating it in their WC too. Thanks...

    « OK »

The rooms need some updating. When I arrived, I learned that no parking was available (they have some - but you had better reserve in advance) so I had to find their recommend garage about 2.5 blocks away. The bathroom of the room I checked into had a urine smell, and the next morning I discovered why, brown liquid flowing out of a panel in the ceiling of the bathroom. The trip was during Oktoberfest, so the hotel was full and no other room was offered. On the good side, the hotel was located close to the Altstadt (about a 20 minute walk) and the Theresienwiese (about a 10 minute walk)

    « Good hotel »

The hotel is located in Turkish district, very close to the city center and train station which was perfect for us. We didnt have any problems on the street byt sometimes it looked a bit spooky. Hotel itself is ok, comfortable beds, relatively clean rooms, good breakfast and helpful staff. I recommend it for a short trip to Munich with friends.

    « Excellent value »

The price was very reasonable. The room was quiet and looked out onto an interior garden. The parking was included and well as an excellent buffet breakfast. The staff was cheerful and very professional.

    « Grumpy hotel. »

Though nothing is really wrong with this hotel, I will never stay there again. Rooms are rather small, dirty and old, troublesome internet and no airconditioning. Staff was a bit grumpy or just tired, the street was very very noisy. The hotel is not far from Munich main station, but the area isn't really pleasant. Everything was a bit gloomy, and way too expensive. Breakfast was very good, but i have stayed in better hotels with similar breakfasts.

    « Great Stay »

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The location couldn't be better for visiting during Oktoberfest. The walk to the city center was easy as well as the walk to the English Gardens. The hotel is on a one way street but is still a main thoroughfare for people coming and going to Oktoberfest so expect a little street noise if your room is on the outside of the hotel. The Breakfast was AMAZING! Lots of variety with hearty and light options. Highly recommend

« Perfect for guests visiting the Oktoberfest »

We stayed here one night last week as we were visiting the Oktoberfest . Perfect location - five minutes walk from the main station and then a further five to the Teresianwiese. We were early but our room - overlooking the atrium garden - was ready and very comfortable - huge shower room. Breakfast the next morning was amazing - on a par with our favourite hotel in Bechtesgaden - soup! Hot food - eggs cooked to order - all manner of breads pastries cheeses meats - very pleasant and efficient staff

    « Worst experience ever. »

I was so excited to stay at this hotel and experience Munich, but immediately everyone who worked here was so rude. Terzi was reluctant to give us another wifi password and we got nonstop attitude from all of the workers. As Americans I understand a culture difference, but there is no need to be disrespectful. We asked for an extra pillow or blanket or something because we were in tiny twin beds and they had NEITHER. How does a hotel not have an extra blanket OR pillow. I'm shocked. I will never stay at a best western again.

    « What you'd expect with a few exceptions »

3 rooms. It was warm and rainy during the first days of the Octoberfest and the rooms didn't have air-conditioning. There was a fan and one room was able to direct the fan in the window to get the maximum fresh air in the room. We were on the 3rd floor and had to take the elevator to the 3rd floor and then drag our bags up two different flights of stairs (3 or 4 steps each) to get to our rooms. We saw parts of bag wheels in several spots in the hotel. The rooms were just ok with nothing fancy. The location was great for the Octoberfest parade and the Theresienwiese fest ground. It costs about $75 to get to the airport via taxi. Breakfast was plentiful and the staff couldn't have been nicer. There was a problem with our bill and once explained and looked into, the money was refunded promptly. We booked through a hint. One person at the hotel said, if we'd called direct we could have saved an extra 10% or for us $400 euros. WOW

    « Great for Oktoberfest »

We had two rooms a twin and a double. Both rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable. Had extra pillows, tea pot, closet, mini fridge, safe, nice bathroom and rooms were quiet. Only downside was no a/c which wasn't a problem for us but could be in summer. Breakfast was very large with every offering imaginable. Bar was fun at night. Small but fun. Service from the staff was great from start to finish. Location is ideal for Oktoberfest, a few blocks from train station. I would stay again.

« Not bad for a Best Western »

Truth be told... I would never stay at a Best Western but when my friend organized a trip to Oktoberfest, I had no choice. The hotel was clean and pretty close to the fair grounds (about a 10 min walk). The neighborhood was ok- not a place to shop or stroll. The shower was amazing and the free breakfast was outrageous. The room was expensive but I understand why.

    « Lovely staff and food,needs updating »

Spent one night here in August . Near train station which is good if you want to travel . Area is a little grubby. Room was very hot as no air con and old looking ,but clean.Breakfast was amazing, probably the best I have ever had at a hotel. I'd suggest going in cooler months.

    « Wonderful Experience »

8 days at this hotel was exceptional. The location was perfect to see all of Munich and take multiple tours that initiated from the train station. The staff were outstanding and the breakfast was the best of any hotel ever. The only negative was that there is no air condition in the rooms. We highly recommend this hotel.

« Lovely hotel, great food, lacking air con though »

Great hotel, friendly staff. Nice modern rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast great with loads of choice. My only complaint is the lack of air con. We came in August and it was 30 degrees so it was unbearable at night. But apart from that a great hotel in a central location.

« Note Best Western quality »

I was really disappointed about this Hotel. Normally a Best Western is a good average choice, but this is in a not very nice location, bland decor and totally un-personal. The street made me as a female traveler, alone feel unsafe to walk home after dark. Fairly close to city central, but a good 5 blocks to walk through questionable area.

    « Business »

Had to go to munich on business. The hotel was centrally located near the train station. Had very good service. At the time it was very hot in Munich and the hotel had no air conditioning. I did get a fan. The breakfast buffet was very good with a good selection. But no car parking. They only had so many spaces and if you need a space, you have to make reservation for a space at 18 EU per day, which I was not told when I made the reservation.

    « Mr Bakri »

It's a good hotel and it's a very near to station 3 min to walk only staff helpful and gently I but its one things no air conditioner It's good for 5 days and nice breakfast I recommend for how looking near to city center room for smoking to small ??????????

« Reconsider your staying there if possible »

This 3* property does not have in their rooms any ventilation and/or air conditioning so it is below basic EC standards with regards to ventilation and air conditioning for motels/hotels. I stayed there in July 2016 and it was impossible to sleep because the room temperature was above 30C even at night time. Overall my staying was miserable due to high temperature in the room. The best what could be offered by the hotel Management - to have a fan to be delivered in to your room but you would need to ask for it quite few times (!). Do not expect any hospitality or any service beyond your expectation. As soon as you would book reservation (they offer "flex" reservations via different channels which can be cancelled 2-3 days prior check-in without any penalties) you would be in trap because only upon arrival you would be able to realise that you are not able to cancel it without minimum payment of 90% or full 100% of the pre-booked nights. Also, unfortunately it is close to the Munich Central Train Station and hotel surroundings are full of refugees and islamic nationals.

    « Central location »

A good hotel, well located for most things you might want to do in Munich. no evening restaurant and locally the only offering is Kebab albeit many to chose from. You have to travel further for a wider choice.

« Central, clean with very good breakfast buffet »

The Best Western Atrium is a straightforward 10 minute walk from Marienplatz. It's situated in an area locally known as Little Istanbul so it's heavy on the Turkish supermarkets and restaurants. There are also a lot of stripper clubs in the area along with small groups of men lingering in the streets which may make some uncomfortable. Overall the location is fairly central and just a 15 minute walk to Marienplatz. The hotel staff are friendly and the room was clean with complimentary sparkling water in the minibar and coffee/tea with the electric kettle. My room was a spacious double room (really two single beds pushed together) though the desk area could use another electrical outlet. There's plenty of storage space with a closet and drawers. The shower area is made from pre-moulded plastic with a seat which could be useful for the elderly or if you want to linger in the shower for a long time. A complaint would be the apparent absence of air conditioning and the lack of an in-room safe. The breakfast buffet is worth lingering over with a very good selection of Bavarian fare from various sausages, breads, pastries and other dishes along with the usual breakfast foods. Overall the hotel is a good value and above average if you don't mind the neighbourhood's quirks.

« Good choice of hotel »

Very clean and comfortable, close to train station. No air conditioning but fan was cooling. Very comfortable mattress and good internet and easy to log in. We booked two rooms for our daily and enjoyed our short stay. Reception desk was helpful in understanding how to use train to get to bus station. I appreciated their service.

« good hotel, bad location »

The rooms are average Best Western clean and comfortable, and the location is near the banhof Munich (3 blocks), the surrounding area could be better. The staff was great and spoke English, and there is a Laundromat with in 2 blocks. Breakfast ( fruhstuck) is very good.

« Average hotel on budget »

Choice this hotel because it is just a few street away from the main station. I just stayed a night for catching up the train the next day. Room for 1 person is quite small, I would expect at least a larger bed when I paid 90Euro for a night. There is no air con. At least it is clean. Breakfast is very good, lots of choices, enough tables for the patrons, lovely environment. The terrace outside is even nicer but space is too limited. The downside is, I feel not quite secure especially at night, wherever I walk pass someone stares me. I will avoid to stay in this area next time.

    « 4 starts, Seriously?! »

Pro: amazing breakfast Cons: 1. Small room ( they call it single bed room) kids room is bigger. This is a narrow room with a single bed ( 90cm width), first time in 30 years of travel i get such a small bed and for 250euro a night.... 2. Bathroom is all plastic, i mean the walls also....reminded me of a bathroom on a plane 3. One elevator, and ut is slowwwwww 4. The hotel is under renovation, not anywhere it was mentioned (not in the reservation, not in the lobby), it is usually something that management would advise on in advance if u dont want to book a room and hear construction at 7:30am. 5. No A/ 37c i need to add? 6. Hotel is located in not such a good area, i mean if u like Turkish food its got dozens of restaurants around but i rather stay away from cloae by streets which offers peep shows and more. So to sum it up, i stayed in munich twice before and this was a big disappointment compared to other hotels in munich.

« Excellent location if you're not driving »

While the surrounding area could be nicer, the Atrium is spotless inside. The staff is amazing. If one arrives to Munich by train, the Atrium is only a few blocks away. It's also a decent central location for walking tours. This hotel also has the most fantastic breakfast I have EVER seen in a hotel, anywhere in the world! Only one downfall: like many hotels and Guest houses on Germany, there is no air conditioning in the rooms.

« Nice Atrium and friendly and helpful staff »

Situated 5-8 minutes walk distance from Munich Hauptbahnhof this smaller but very nice hotel, with clean and modern rooms that size-wise are just fine (other reviews state that rooms are small, I kindly disagree). The neighborhood is quiet compared to many other hotels I have visited and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is vast and has that "German touch" (includes lots of sausages and the likes). All in all this is a recommend hotel for the business traveller.

    « Perfect »

Rooms clean and well maintained, friendly staff, great breakfast. Perfect location though crowded, there are 5 supermarkets and many restaurants within a radius of 20 meters from the hotel, main station about 200 to 300 meters. Just wish they had few English channels

« Be careful! They will take 90% your money even if you cance! »

This has to be crowned it as the most Rip-off hotel in the world, in Munich. Situated in a bad part of the Munich. This hotel is on the preferred list of and you will not be able to do a review of the hotel on They will take your cash, although you have cancelled! They will take 90% of your payment. When I got to the hotel the entrance, the hotel was suspect and the area and types around scary. I decided it wasn't safe and cancelled on my phone less then an hour after I booked on I received confirmation from that my reservation was cancelled and I have proof. Needless to say the hotel deducted the full portion of the funds from my account and credited 10% to my account. What Crooks....

« No frills but everything you need. »

The rooms were small but completely adequate for sleeping, and everything we needed was there. There is a business center with a free printer, an excellent free morning buffet, hot water pot for coffee and tea, a couple of gratis bottles of water, and a grocery across the street. The staff was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is colorful with a lot of new immigrants in beautiful clothes, many with little babies or children, and that makes it interesting. I would definitely stay there again.

    « Bad choice »

Very small room with a short single bed. No air condition??!!! Fridge not working. Neighborhood very disappointing with several strip clubs . Would absolutely NOT recommend it!... Not particularily close to the center. Atrium very small, not worth mentioning.

« Great place for Central Munich »

Great location Great Beds and Massive Breakfast included Staff very German helpful. Mostly efficient and pleasant but not too personal Rooms are clean and comfortable and the bed was superb Housekeeping just happens and the two bottles of complimentary water in the room each day was really appreciated by a couple of tired tourists each night AND the breakfast range was as broad and fresh as anywhere else For the money you can't do better in Central Munich I will return

« Never have too many vegetables »

Diagonally opposite the hotel is a green supermarket selling every vegetable under the sun. Anyway the hotel was everything that you would expect to the corporate standard of a large chain of hotels. All the staff were polite, the rooms are average size for a city hotel including the usual TV with many international channels, tea making facilities are provided as well. This hotel caters for the many international guests and has a very wide choice of anything you could think of having for breakfast. It was well stocked and the tables cleared quickly. 7 minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof which gives you access to U bahn, S bahn and national rail services throughout Germany. It does have a bar and was also showing football in the business lounge, neither was for me, I always try to find a good local bar.

« Really good choice near central Munich »

Located very close to the main train station. Marienplatz is at walking distance, about a mile away. I arrived at 10 am and they allowed to me check-in early. That was very useful for me. The room was not very spacious, however it was clean. I liked their breakfast, good variety & friendly staff. Overall service was excellent.

    « Ok »

Good food, clean sheets, good location and friendly staff. I was on Bauma-exhibition and because exhibitions the price was very high. Only bad thing was towels. I've never seen as cheap as those were. After you have use it, you are full of lint.

« Over rated for what is offered »

The Hotel is located in an area behind the main train station, smack in the middle of what you could call little Turkey, it is surrounded my gambling casinos, doner shops and fruit and vegetable Turkish markets. We arrived on Saturday and it was very noisy and at every corner you could clearly identify local crime members. The pictures on the website do not reflect reality and the amenities are below standards for what they charge you, the only benefit is that it is located at 500meters from the train station, but you have to go thru a red light district to get to it.

    « Munich March 2016 »

The room we saw at booking was a totally different than that we stayed..we had two beds, and we ve asked for a double, the bathroom was sooo old that you thought it was dirty..the linen were too small..on the other hand the breakfast was very nice and the lady who served very polite.i wouldn't recommended expensive for what you get.

    « Very Good »

Stayed here for a combination of business and pleasure. The hotel is located a short walk from the main station making it easy to reach all parts of Munich and many of the main attractions are also within walking distance. Staff are friendly and the breakfast is exceptional. My room was a little on the small side, but the beds are comfortable and the shower very good. Recommend.

    « A Splurge We enjoyed »

This hotel is difficult to drive to if you have a car but our GPS got us right there, We had to go around a long block to go back to the parking garage as it was a one way street. A valet ushered us into a gated courtyard and we drove into a small elevator. Claustrophobia people avoid this. he spots were small but the garage safe. The concierge at the desk had the proper amount of stuffiness to give you the impression you were staying at a "rich" person's hotel. I softened him up after a couple days so that at the end of our stay he volunteered to drive our car back out of the garage (getting it into that elevator was no small trick)..The room was great- softest bed but firm mattress on the whole trip. We spent an hour or so having coffee in the atrium which was wonderful. The breakfast is one of the best- sausages with sauces and labels in English, chicken, pasta, veggies, 3 kinds of potatoes, and breakfast hot dishes, plus cold cuts, cheeses, fruits..... lavish is how I'd describe it with impeccable white table cloths. the neighborhood is definitely Middle Eastern with a fruit market in every block and a barber shop. 4 blocks form the train station but about a mile from the reconstructed "Old Town" In the heart of Munich.

    « breakfast top »

The staff is very friendly. the rooms are a bit old and very small and theshower is made of plastic but clean. the location is near walkingdistance fom the mainstation. the breakfast is top so i can recommend his hotel

    « OK for a night »

We did stay here for 1 night during Christmas. Despite the price, the service and facilities offered failed to impress. Dated standard rooms with a too small breakfast area. The location is not too bad just a 15 min stroll away from downtown.

    « Best Western, Munich. »

First let me say the area that the hotel is situated in is ABSOLUTLY fine! The only reason that people would not like it is if they are racist! Yes it is a "Turkish/Arab" area and the people are not quintessentially German looking but to mark a hotel down because the people outside in the streets are not the right skin colour for you is disgusting! I went to Munich with my fiancé around New Years and after one to many beers we walked back to the hotel at 5.30am, not once did I feel unsafe or fear for my fiancé's safety! The guy at the kebab shop was actually really nice to us! Right on to the hotel its self, its clean, the staff are very helpful, speaking to me in English so I understood. How many British hotel owners can say that there staff speak two languages or more. Staff were not rude but perhaps struggled with language barrier! The breakfast was everything you would expect from a continental breakfast, with a few German sausages thrown in for good measure. Room that I stayed in was small but comfortable, with good bathroom facilities (better than my home shower). 3 star because lets face it this place is not the Ritz but it is passable and I would stay there again, no problem!

    « Confused Hotel »

On arrival the guy on reception was the exception to all the other staff we met in this hotel. He needs a course in public relations, he was abrupt, official and down right hostile. We were given a room on the 6th floor (lift only goes to 5th floor, but I new that before booking ) ,room 603. If you are using this hotel do not accept this room as the fire door outside slams shut and will keep you awake all night. The hotel sent someone to look at it ,but to no avail did not get sorted. On the third day we demanded to be moved which we were. The girl on reception said her words, not mine " I don't know why you were allocated that room as the hotel never allocates it or less full as there are door problems ". We were given a room on first floor silence at last. The rooms in this hotel are definately not four star, they are tiny, and pretty dated, with bathrooms you would get in a caravan style holiday home, a self contained plastic unit. However the room,s etc were spotlessly clean and the breakfast was four star. I would go as far to say excellent. The staff in this hotel were freindly and helpful apart from the one ogre on reception when we arrived. We did not find many restaurants around to eat or less you like Turkish/Arabic food which there were plenty around.

« Miserable hotel pretending to be a 4-star property »

Don't go there: small, poorly furnished and smelly rooms not even closely matching the claimed level of quality and service. No air conditioning in the room, broken furniture and windows not closing properly add up to the miserable experience.

    « Bad Location »

Walking distance from the train station, but the area is weird. I didn't fee safe at all. I had a huge suitcase and they gave me room on the 6th floor. Problem was the elevator would only go as high as the 5th floor. I had to carry my super heavy bag up a flight of stairs. I was so tired I had no strengh to make a big deal out of it. Until I got to the bathroom and the toilet was actually dirty. So, there I went, all the way back to the lobby carrying the big bag. They did give me another room right away. Hotel was ok for the price, clean, decent shower. But I don't think I'm ever going back there.

« Close to city center and train station AND best all inclusive breakfast ever!!! »

This hotel is ideal if you are coming in to the city by train and wish to get around central Munich on foot. Some people may feel intimidated by the multi-ethnic atmosphere of the area by we never felt ill at ease. There are many other lodgings in the area. Our room was clean and had been updated however a room safe would have been a welcome addition. We unfortunately paid much more than the regular room rate because we stayed right after Octoberfest. The included breakfast buffet made up for part of that in that it was the best ever for an all inclusive.

« Dodgy street / rooms need serious renovation »

A great lobby caught my attention on the internet so I booked. For 130 euros, I thought I could expect something decent. But here the Best Werstern standard is clearly missing: a saggy mattress which needs replacing, no safe in the rooms, bedside lights are terribly white and crude, and let us not even consider the furniture, clearly lacking style. Hospital or hotel? When you are standing in the corridors, it is not obvious. A few positive points, but not enough to my taste. The bathroom was new and very clean, although simple. The Internet connexion was reliable, and the breakfast woman was extremely friendly and personal, unlike in many hotels. The location is not the one I would recommend, particularly for women. It is certainly close to the center--close enough to walk--but the neighborhood is very dodgy, although there are several other hotels here. It feels as many cities when you get too close to the train station: not extremely recommendable.

« Dated hotel, lousy service, disgusting bathroom, no air conditioner. »

We had to stay an extra night in Munich so we wanted something downtown. This is one of the worst choiced regarding to hotels I ever hard. In every booking web page it states that the hotel has air conditioner, which is a lie. Service is terrible, staff is really unfriendly and didn't speak english (understandable at least), making communicating even harder. They have "parking" service, which is a few blocks away, and they gave you a discount when using it. The problem is they didn't instruct us that it closed after a certain hour, so we had a small incident with our car. The room was hot, dated, with old furniture and disgusting sheets. The bathroom was the worst, its a huge, old plastic structure that reminds you of public chemical bathrooms when going to a concert. It's near downtown but the streets outside are the worst around and do not feel safe at all.

    « City Centre Hotel »

Great modern hotel, part of Best Western chain. Short walk from Munich Central Rail Station, HBF, about 40 min ride from airport. Modern facilities with really helpful staff. No restaurant at night, but loads within walking distance of hotel. Would recommend and would use this hotel again

« Good Location for Oktoberfest »

Stayed here for 3 nights for Oktoberfest, at standard room rates I think this hotel would offer good value, but by no means is this a 'premium' hotel. Modern, clean rooms, with comfortable beds. We had a room overlooking the courtyard which was nice and relatively quiet. Breakfast buffet was pretty good and included in the room rate. It was super close to Oktoberfest, just a short 5 minute walk so was ideal for us for the weekend. ??????????????3??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????5?????????????????????????????????????????????

« Great place to crash for Oktoberfest »

If you want a great location to enjoy Oktoberfest, this is perfect. The beds were comfortable, the room was quiet (my wife loved that part) the shower had plenty of hot water and very high pressure. And the breakfast was delicious. Was a little pricey, with prepay and no refunds, but I guess that's to be expected this time of year.

« Good comfort and value »

I had a single room at inner court, which was very quiet. The room was enough spatious, very clean, the bed was first class to sleep. Bathroom was also clean and practical. Breakfest had a huge variety of food, everything was good for a one night stay.

    « Nothing special! »

Area of town was not what I had expected, very Mediterranean heavy but still friendly. Rooms were nice and bed was ok but there was no AC. Staff was average at best. The breakfast on the other hand was exceptional!

« First time in Germany »

Location was close to the train station but in a not so friendly or quite area. Staff was great, no a/c in room only a fan. was there three days and temp was in the 90's. Windows open at night and was loud. Outstanding breakfast.

« Functional, centrally located hotel, good for short business trips »

This is a functional budget hotel in central Munich. Good for short business trips. Staff very friendly and efficient. Rooms small but with everything needed (especially kettle+ coffee/tea) Free WiFi ( slow). Breakfast is ok.
