    « Pleasantly surprised »

Stayed here as part of the 'Western Front' tour. Was better than I expected. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was O.K. Overall I would stay here again, right in the town near restaurants and shops. (To the manager - I did like your comments to the person below about the French bread - even made the wife laugh!!!)

    « Not great...there were a few issues..but overall ok... »

I couldn't decide on whether or not to give this hotel 2 or 3 stars...but it's a nice hotel with nice large rooms...but....there were a few niggles that weren't sorted out very well. We stayed here for 4 nights whilst on a battlefield tour and it's a popular hotel with coach tours which means it's likely to be busy at breakfast! Our room was spacious, clean and modern...but...the bathroom had a few problems...when we arrived the housekeeper had left the shower mat used to step on when getting out of the the shower tray..which would have been fine except that the shower dripped constantly...and not just a was noticeable all the mat was soaking and because of this we couldn't actually lift it out without leaving water everywhere all over the had to leave it on the edge of the shower cubicle which meant there was nowhere to actually stand to get out of the shower. We told the staff at the front desk which is hardly manned at all making talking to someone really difficult and they said they would get maintenance on to it asap. We came back the next day and the shower head had been replaced..but..the dripping was now so bad it made the shower unsafe to use as the shower tray refused to drain properly and we were left with a pool of water sitting permanently in the shower tray for the next 3 nights....we told them again but nothing further was done to fix it...and they had the nerve to advertise that they were an eco-friendly hotel! The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and I suspect that some of the complaints on here about food was because the main choices were continental...well we were on the not sure what people expected! There was free WiFi available which could be a bit unstable but it did work. My husband managed to leave his phone behind in the room on the Friday we left and we contacted them within a couple of hours of leaving and were delighted to hear that they had found it and that they would also post to back to him...which we thought was great. We provided credit card details to pay for this and were assured it would be posted on the following Monday. We hadn't heard from them by Tuesday so had to phone them when we got home only to find that it hadn't been posted and the staff member I spoke to seemed a bit vague about it being posted out the following day (Wednesday). We were charged €16.40 for the postage which was fine but they used a Dutch courier which couldn't be tracked once it was in the UK so we didn't receive it until the following Monday and had no idea which day it would arrive. I just felt that the place was under staffed, although the staff were friendly they seemed a bit clueless and things just didn't seem to be getting done. I'm disappointed it took them 6 days to post my husband's phone, especially as we were paying for it and that despite asking them to switch it off, they couldn't do that either. Overall not my favourite hotel and we have stayed here before when it was much better...I think we were just a bit unlucky this time but would be cautious about staying there again after this experience.

    « Not Too Bad »

This was a stop over last night on way to another destination. Not a bad hotel to be honest. The room was comfortable with wifi, tea/coffee facilities, clean and quiet. Its in a good location for the town. The food was good and the so was the breakfast. Im not a fussy eater.

« Mostly good, poor breakfast »

Just behind the main square in Mouscron, this hotel is a very good base for exploring the area - for many, as for me, the sites associated with WW1. The rooms are smart, well laid out and mine was very quiet - perfect. I am surprised to read the positive comments on TA about the breakfast here, though. When I stayed, the supplies were not well managed, the queues snaked and the food was not that great: no french bread (sliced bread and pappy rolls only) no fresh coffee (what?!) except from a machine dispensing a range of drinks and tinned fruit predominating in the "fresh" fruit salad - made it a bit of a disappointing start to the day.

    « The Mouscron Mosquitos »

If you said you couldn't find anything to eat for breakfast at this hotel, you would have to have the strangest appetite on the planet. It was a really sumptious spread. The bar only took cash-no credit cards or charging to the room-and as the barman operated between reception and the bar,it was often the case that the bar looked devoid of staff and on some occasions people had to go to reception to get him. The room was very warm and as I couldn't figure out how to control the heating I lay on top of the bed. This resulted in a mosquito bite(2 others on the third floor and 1 on the first floor also mentioned the buzzing too)' Finally on a bum note,I've never come across thinner toilet paper!!

« 4 Day Break to The Battlefields »

Hotel walking distance around the corner from, the town centre. Clean room. Clean Towels. Tea and coffee facilities in room Excellent Breakfast, full range to suit all needs Does not normally provide evening meals, food brought in from outside if required. Which was tasty and staff were helpful and accommodating. Reception staff friendly Need room card after 10' ish to gain entrance back in to hotel.

    « Clean & comfortable »

4 night stay on a Leger battlefields tour. Lovely clean, modern, comfortable and with a good buffet breakfast. Close to a good choice of restaurants, bars and shops. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. An excellent choice by Leger.

    « An excellent find »

We stayed for 4 nights on a Leger battlefield tour, and this hotel was one of the unexpected highlights of the holiday. The hotel offers excellent facilities, a good breakfast and an ideal location with access to shops, bars etc. I could not recommend this hotel too highly!

« Quick visit to battlefield cemeteries »

Modern, spotlessly clean hotel. Rooms are clean and tidy and well appointed. Staff friendly and help full. Breakfast was good, with variety toaster for most tastes. I would certainly recommend this hotel for shortlisted to Mouscron.

    « best best Western »

recently spent 4 nights in this hotel travelling with legers 'all quiet on the western front tour". It is the best best Western we have ever stayed in. The hotel is centrally located (actually just around the corner from mouscron town square) The staff are extremely accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. the beds are really comfortable and large. The breakfast is continental but there is loads of choice. A1 hotel. If your staying here with leger you will have no problems whatsoever.

« Brilliant example of a Best Western Hotel »

We stayed here with Shearings Holidays for the overnight stay on the way back from the Switzerland, Alsace and Rhine Valley River Cruise tour. Nice warm reception from staff, lovely building inside, and its in a good location to the town square if you have the chance to head out for a meal or drink, but our overnight meals were included. The rooms are great- good size, extremely comfortable beds, air conditioned, modern and just pleasant to be in. Free wifi which is easy to connect to and the restaurant is a really pleasant place to be. Our evening meal was organised but I think people mainly use the hotel for bed and breakfast. But the breakfast is brilliant with a huge choice. Overall it's a perfect place to stay for everything that you need and thoroughly deserves its 4 stars. Even though we didn't need it, there is parking available underneath the hotel for a charge as there's not much space outside the entrance. The only thing I would say is that have a good look at google maps before you try to get to the street where it is- as our tour driver didn't find it the easiest task to reverse a 42 foot long coach down there! Brilliant hotel though

    « Lovely hotel »

I stayed here for 1 night on business earlier this month. The staff were immediately very friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are lovely, well decorated, clean, modern and very comfortable. I had the best nights sleep!! Breakfast was plentiful and tasty & the hotel is right in the middle of the town so there are plenty of places to go for food and drinks of an evening. If I ever find myself back in the vicinity of this hotel, I would most definitely stay again!!

    « Great value hotel »

Stopped at this hotel whilst undertaling a first world war battlefields tour. Super location just off the main town square so very handy for restaurants and local bars. Hotel itself is excellent. Modern and bright with very clean rooms and a good buffet breakfast. Staff are very attentative and helpful when required - would definately stop here again

« No complaints from here »

Stayed here recently whilst on a ledger tour of the Somme and though given the sites visited , this was not the best location the facilities at the hotel were more than adequate for our needs. A good sized clean room , adequate breakfast and helpful staff . The place is advertised as having no restaurant but it does have a bar and reasonable bar snacks. As others have pointed out ,it's just off the town square so other restaurants / bars are available . Notwithstanding the Wednesday thing when Belgium appears to be shut which is a bit of a throwback to the days of old.

« Very good hotel, nothing to fault »

On Leger Battlefields Tour. Rooms modern, clean and large. Position just off the main square where you will find bars, cafes and restaurants within 5 mins walk for the ones further out. As we had early starts were not able to use local shops. Breakfast was good with hot food. As usual breads and cakes were delicious. Staff attentive, spoke english well and nothing was too much for them Husband said beer expensive in hotel but hey ho its supply and demand. The draft Leffe Blonde was excellent. Keep you room key on you as the front door is locked at 10pm and you need it to gain entry.

    « Trenches Visit »

My second stay at Alize Plus. This hotel never disappoints. Friendly staff speaking English and bending over backwards to help. They allowed me to store some fresh purchases in their refrigerator and also froze my ice blocks ready for the journey home. In short, a great hotel with great people. No restaurant, but they did provide a great breakfast, hot and cold.

    « Excellent hotel »

Stayed at the hotel on a "all quiet on the western front" tour, the hotel was extremely clean and well decorated, the staff are are very friendly, courteous and helpful, the rooms are clean and spacious and are cleaned daily also the rooms include an iron, ironing board, safe, hairdryer and kettle with tea and coffee etc. There is plenty of choice at breakfast time of breads, croissants beans, bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, cooked meats, cheeses and cereals, all in all an enjoyable stay with no complaints

« Very good hotel, excellent location »

Nice hotel within the city center of Mouscron. Everything is in walking distance. The staff is friendly and the room was clean and the bed comfortable. I can definitely recommend this hotel when you're staying in Mouscron.

« just the sort of hotel needed after long days in a coach »

Like many other reviewers we were touring the Battlefields and were out for long days. So a clean, quiet room was much appreciated. the breakfast provided a good choice and set you up for the day. the hotel was close to the town centre so a great location for walking in the evening. i would happily stay there again.

    « A lovley hotel »

Stayed here as part of a package and wasn't dissapointed. The hotel is located in a very scenic little town and is in a quiet side street. The hotel was very clean and well presented. The room we stayed in was very comfy and clean. Altough the hotel doesn't offer food apart from breakfast this isn't an issue as two minutes walk away is the market square with ample bars and retaraunts to choose from. I woudl have no hesitation in staying here again at all.

    « Best Alize, Mouscron. »

Decent little place, good room and high standard of cleanliness. Breakfast is a little chaotic, a wide range of pretty good Belgium food, although self-service. You want toast, all the gear is there, you make it. Places are set out and you sit where you want, clearance of used crockery is rather slow, mainly down to a minimum of staff. The bar had no Gin ! and the wines appeared to be 'bouchonné'; service was slow, just one bloke; but open from 10am to midnight. Limited local parkng, although we managed it, underground available for €10 per night. A good place very close to the main square and useful for visiting the Fields of Flanders at a fair price.

    « Battlefields tour »

Hotel and staff very good. Breakfast had so much to choose from and set you up nicley for the long day ahead. Nice bar but a bit expensive. Only complaint was the shower wasnt very good. It lacked power, but was hot. Bedrooms lovely and clean and plenty of room in them. The hotel is set down a small side street, just of the square where there is plenty of parking and lots of restaurants. Would stay here again.

« Hotel alize best western »

WWhen you book a best western you know you are getting a good standard of hotel and the hotel alize does not dissapoint . It is set about 20 yards around the corner off the main sqaure in mouscron. theres not a lot to do in mouscron but we stayed here because we were visiting the world war 1 battlefeilds and mouscron is a good central area to be. The hotel is clean and modern with roomy rooms and nice comfortable beds. on the telly there was about 5 or 6 of the main english channels so you can keep up with whats going on. you get a great breakfast which you help youreself . there is no restaurant in the hotel for the evening but there is a lot of restaurants locally which is why there isnt one in the hotel but thereis a bar there.all in all its a good clean hotel which i would certainly reccommend in a lovely town .

    « Husbands 60th birthday treat. »

Hotel was quite difficult to find en route from airport as its tucked up a small street. Good job for sat nav. We parked in street to check in and enquire re parking. Came back out to a British bus driver saying he had called the police as we had parked in a bus space!! Parking under the hotel is 10 euro a per day- take it. It saves you getting towed away. The room was lovely. Spacious and clean. Toilet and bathroom separate which was fine. Room temp lovely. To only BBC1 again fine. Breakfast was alright. Cereal , toast boiled eggs and a small English available. Arrays of breads. Gluten free !! Good for me. No evening meal to write home about. Choice of 5 options. We went for a drink in the bar/ restaurant one evening. We were the only ones. Gantry not huge. Simon at reception on check in lovely and really welcoming. Cleaners chatty despite language barrier. Check in check out a dawdle. Stay again? Sure would. Perfect for a base while driving around. Centrally located. Best western at its best. Well done.

    « I expected a bit more »

The hotel is very central. I only picked this because I knew I would arrive late and wanted diner at their restaurant. Only to find out restaurant is closed, not even a bar to order a simple sandwich. The staf were very friendly all the time. They recommended a list of restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was pretty much like in french restaurants, not too much variety, but decent.

    « Nice little hotel »

5night stay on Battlefield tour with Ledger. I had a single room which was nicely furnished and a decent size, often guests staying in single room accommodation end up with tiny, unloved and out of the way rooms but not this time. Bed comfy and hotel in a quiet side street just off main town square. Hotel did not offer evening meals but this is not a problem as plenty of places to eat and drink in and around main square. Hotel is clean and modern inside and a little austere from the outside in part due to the architectural design and business like, but it's a well situated base for further exploration. There are a number of bars secreated around the square in little back streets if you want to socialise with the locals and a good Chinese. The hotel has a bar area but its lacking any ambience and purely business like and functional and not unlike most hotels, a little expensive.

    « Master »

Best Western Plus was great.I was on an 'All Quiet on the Western Front' tour. I really enjoyed it and it had great facilities and the staff were very helpful. I slept great all 3 nights and had a great time. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in a lovely hotel ina beautiful city. Thank you!!!

    « Very friendly staff »

Stayed in the hotel for a weekend whilst in Belgium. The hotel is located a very short walk away from the square with some nice restaurants and bars. The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable with no issues hearing other guests or outside noise.

« Typical European business hotel done very well. »

Only spent one night here, arriving late in the evening and leaving early the next morning, but the room was clean, the free breakfast was excellent and including both North American and European options, and parking was free. No room service and the restaurant is only for breakfasts, but the concierge told me there are 4-5 restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel. There is a small parking area behind the hotel but on every day except Monday you can park in the large market square 1 block away for free as well. This is what I did, and it worked very well.

    « Very nice hotel »

This hotel is smak in the middle of the Town Moeskroen. It is brandnew, and has all the modern confort you might wish. The room is not too small, .... It was only a bit too cold when we arrived in the room,... No heating on at all?! Service was friendly and breakfast was an OK.

    « Great Hotel »

We stayed overnight as part of our Shearings holiday. The room was lovely as was the bathroom. The hotel was just around the corner from a square, which at the time had a Christmas market, unfortunately we were too late to view the stalls as by the time we had dinner they were shut. The meal we had was lovely, as was breakfast. A hotel that we would stay in again and perhaps explore the area.

    « Really Good »

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel as part of our Shearings holiday. Again we were not disappointed and everything about the one night stay was very good. Particular thanks must go to the reception staff for taking all of the groups cases from our coach up to our rooms and collecting them again in the morning. The room was very good. The evening meal very good, with the same cheerful waiter who looked after us last time. Possibly the only observation we have may be the bottle neck created near the single (slow) coffee machine at the mornings breakfast - flasks on tables would be preferred.

    « An average hotel »

Came here for 2 nights on a just go holidays tour Christmas markets hotel was nice and clean the bedroom was clean as well nice bathroom with a walk in shower as well the food was average only had breakfast I had a club sandwich one evening it was 13.00 euros plus I had a drink for 3.00 euros I thought this was expensive the coke was only in a half glass.

    « A disappointing stay. »

Hotel room extremely warm. We turned off the heating (unable to select cooling on the air-conditioning) and opened the window. Unfortunately we were awakened several times during the night by groups of people having noisy conversations outside the entrance to the hotel - one time was 3am! On the point of phoning reception when the groups dispersed - only to re-appear! We think they must have been having a cigarette each time as this was about the length of time each disturbance took. Ask for a room towards the back of the hotel. We were also disturbed one morning at 7am by someone trying to enter our room. Fortunately we had the door locked! Other issues for us were having to request an extra bath towel on two separate occasions (only one provided for two people), teabags in the room were not replaced either. Hot food at breakfast ran out and was not replaced very quickly if at all while we were in the dining room. Receptionists were rarely manning the desk and we had to call them to attend to our requirements. They did very quickly respond once we were able to speak to them.

« All quite on the western front tour »

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Clean modern room with a jacuzzi bath and overhead shower. Lovely buffet breakfast with loads of food to chose from . Right on top of local restaurants for a choice of dinners.

    « Decent clean rooms »

Nothing to look at from the outside but inside clean, modern and welcoming. Breakfasts were very good with lots of choice. Room good, clean and comfortable beds. Visited as part of a Ledger battlefields tour. Would happily recommend it to others

« Centrally located Best (Western) Hotel! »

Great Hotel tucked away in the Town of Mouscron. Virtually on the Town square with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby! We used this as a great place for Battlefield touring with easy reaches to the main motorways and the French/Belgium border nearby. Lille is only a few miles down the road. The rooms are clean, modern, also have free wifi and air con throughout. The staff are excellent with Julien & Simon looking after our comfort with nothing being to much trouble for them. Substantial breakfast topped everything off and if I was fit and energetic would of used the free Gym and Sauna on the premises. Great all round.

« Much better than expected »

We stayed here on a Leger tour and were very pleasantly surprised with the hotel, the cleanliness, the amenities the facilities in the room, it is a very comfortable hotel, and it is very near to the town square with its restaurants and bars.

« Perfect for Battle Fields Tour »

Stayed here for three nights in September 2015 as part of a Leger Battlefield Tour. Hotel is tucked away just of the main square in Mouscron. Was a very welcome sight at 5pm in the afternoon after getting up at 3am and traveling all day. Hotel is clean, modern and comfortable. Staff were waiting to great us on arrival with our room keys so checking in was simple and quick. Good nights sleep followed in a quiet and very well presented room. Get used to early rises for the tours - most days you are out for 8.30am. Breakfast is continental buffet but was very good quality and plenty of it. There is only a limited amount of food on the menu in the evening but due to the restaurants and bars in the square this is not a problem. Recommend La Dolce Vita for great stone baked pizza. In summary a great little hotel with helpful and friendly staff most of whom seem to speak English and don't seem to mind you practising your French on them. Would definitely stay again.

    « Just the job! »

Stayed here with Leger Battlefields group in September. Room very comfortable with an excellent bathroom & spacious shower. Very friendly & helpful staff. Good choice at breakfast although a bit crowded round the toast machine/egg boiler. Bar had good choice of Belgian beer.

    « Military Executions WW1 »

I have just returned on 14th September 2015, from a 3 nights 4days holiday with Leger Holidays to the WW1 Battlefield Tours in France and Belgium(this being my first time with this Company) . My main reason was to visit my grandfather who was berried in a certain cemetary near Poperinge in Belgium. I was most impressed how everything ran , from point of pick up by feeder coach, to the tour coach at Folkstone. The tour guide, Mark could not do enough for me to ensure that I visited the cemetary in question( as it was practically on the tour route anyway) . Everything during the full two day tours was "brilliant " . I must also mention the two coach drivers - Peter and Craige- ( they could not do enough keeping everyone supplied with tea and coffee) The hotel was situated in the centre of the town , just over the French bordering Belgium. A very good standard , staff very polite and could not do enough for you. Thakyou Ledger Holidays for a very informative and pleasant holiday.

    « A good stay »

We stayed here on our Leger battle fired tour. It was very good, lovely comfortable modern room with lovely facilities. A very nice jacuzzi and a sit in shower were part of the features, a large super king size bed. Very quiet room, a fridge and tea making facilities which is unusual in European hotels. Breakfast was also good with a buffet and help yourself feature. Would recommend.
