It was a pleasant experience. The staff were exceeding quick at getting us to our room and for the most part everything was fine. We only stayed the one night as we were passing thru. The placed our room on the back side so there was no night noise.
My stay at this motel was truly enjoyable. The attention to detail, from the cleanliness of the room to the well-maintained amenities, made a significant difference in my experience. The staff's friendliness and willingness to assist with any requests further enhanced the stay. The delicious breakfast and strong internet connection were just the cherry on top. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future and will certainly recommend this motel to friends and family looking for a comfortable and hassle-free place to stay.
no internet, breakfast was subpar, all hot items were out. I was charged for a blanket that was missing prior to my arrival. inspect your room and report anything when you arrive!
This SureStay Motel exceeded all expectations with its impeccable cleanliness. Every corner of the room sparkled, and the fresh linens and spotless bathroom were truly impressive. The attention to detail in maintaining a hygienic environment made our stay exceptionally comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone valuing top-notch cleanliness.
This place is infested with BED BUGS!!! My “clean” bathroom floor towel had at least 10 that I could see!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!! BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gross!!!!!!!!!! BED BUGS!!! !!!!!!! BED BUGS BED BUGS BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dirty no pool as advertised been closed for a couple years, no restaraunt as advertised, dirty rooms TVs didn't work good had to reboot the modem each time we turned it on to get it to work. rooms smelled carpet got my feet dirty this place should be called a motel not hotel
This room was great. From the time we came in the staff was friendly and helpful! We had some confusion about or reservation and not only did they clear things up but upgraded our room! The room was clean and comfortable with a great shower. The beds were warm and clean and the parking lot was well lit and safe. I would definitely stay here again!
The staffs are very helpful and polite. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Break was awesome. The swimming pool is closed to the rooms is ver clean and convenient. The gas station is very close and you don't have to worry about anything.
The is hotel is very clean and it gives the feeling of home. The parking lot is huge so you can park your car with confindent. The swimming pool on the side of parking lot is awesome. You can enjoy your time in this motel with kids and family.
this place is very convinient to i30 and very close to the hospital. when we checked inn front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. pool was closed for the season but looks clean. pleanty of parking area so did not have any problem in parking. Breakfast was continental not the hot breakfast and area was clean. They offered us express checkout since we paid with credit card. We have very good stay.
From the first impression at check in and being welcomed to my check out after breakfast. This place is super nice room with comfortable bed. The bathroom was super clean as well as the rest of the room It is close to all the restaurants within walking distance and delicious breakfast
I experienced the worst night that I have ever had in a hotel. When I pulled up at my room I could smell people outside smoking pot. Once I got into the room I started noticing something on the floor. I counted over 30 dead bugs, mostly crickets all over the floor in the room. There was stains on the sheets and I found a bottle of lubricant from a previous guest stuck between the wall and the mattress. I turned up the air conditioner but it would barely run. This place was a nightmare.
If you understand this is not a five star resort, you will be happy with your stay. Our room was clean and comfortable and updated. The air condition was cold, which was great for the hot temps outside. Water pressure was very good with plenty of hot water. There was no breakfast when we were there, so don't plan on it for your stay. Several fast food places are nearby. Fitness center was lacking well working equipment. The pool looked very clean and inviting. A lot of people enjoyed it while we were there. We did not have any issues with noise, even being right by the pool and highway. Staff was happy to provide additional towels and coffee pods when we requested them.
very nice location from interstate 30 on our way to Dallas. Looks newly remodeled. Exteriors looks great staff were friendly, breakfast was continental and okay, there were many fast foods restaurants near by like subway McDonalds and burger king.
Absolutely disgusting. Stayed a total of 5 hours as we were passing through. Never again will I even speak of this place other than to tell others to run from it... the mattresses were both broken down and bed frames were broken. There was a very obvious drug dealer outside the entire night. The bathroom shower had hair in it. And the bathroom walls had blood/feces on them. The heater smelled of smoke and the room of mold. Absolutely the nastiest place I have ever layer my head. If I wasn't so tired and had already paid 90 bucks, we would have moved to the next motel...
we have a very good stay at this sure stay hotel by best western at the mount pleasant Texas, employee are very friendly and hotel looks remodeled and very clean, continental breakfast area was clean too. this hotel very convenient because it is right off the highway 30 and lots off fast food restaurant near by. Definitely recommended.
don't know where to even start, but trust me when I say; best to avoid this hotel at all cost. fell way below the Best Western standards. no water in our room, run-down, crumbling stairs, no elevator. Felt very unsafe here while traveling with my family.
The room was okay for the price. Beds were comfortable. The room was dirty. Didn't look like it had been vacuumed. There were chips around the edge of room and a shoe insert behind the chair and chair was dirty. I would not sit in it. Breakfast was just grab food. Nothing great. We ended up eating at the McDonald's behind the hotel.
We noticed driving in that the location was as tired and worn as the hotel. We felt the hotel did as good a job as possible given what they have to work with. The rooms were relatively clean as long as you did not loose something and have to look behind or underneath furniture. The rooms had a perfumed or old AC filter smell. Lighting was very dim with every lamp on. All the amenities worked. One of our two rooms had a hole in the bottom of the tub with a used clear plastic patch over the hole so you could see through it - we did not use that tub/shower. The old adage "you get what you pay for" comes to mind.
This was the worst hotel ever. Pool was dry and looked like it hasn't been repaired in years. No breakfast. Room filthy. No remote in room. No customer service. I will never stay here again. Electrical issues also. Don't stay here. It's not safe and it's filthy.
This is an older motel but in great shape, t has been well maintained over the years, great price. Person at the desk was excellent, professional, kind. The room was well equipped and everything worked well.
We reserved a King Suite for $71, for a 1-night stay. The hotel supposedly offers breakfast and a pool, according to the web site. Upon check-in (the hotel is a bit tricky to find) I was told that breakfast was no longer offered, instead some "bars" were provided...I asked at what time and the girl at the counter said, "maybe 9?" (the sign actually says "6am-9am"). The pool is actually empty. When we got in the room we discovered our freezer was full of frost, and the toilet seat was barely staying on the toilet. We didn't report these items until check-out the next morning. (I'm providing pictures of these issues). WiFi in the room was spotty. The hot water provided in the lobby, for tea, tasted like coffee and had coffee grounds in it.
Poor and discourteous service at check in. Dark and dingy king suite.Soiled sheets. Rude front desk attendant next morning. Zero food for for duration. Over all appearance was dilapidated. Pool empty surroundings dirty
The location was great. A bit tricky to find the entrance. The check in guy was nice and professional. My room reeked of cigarettes' even though it was a non-smoking room. I had driven from Virginia and absolutely beat. I didn't have the energy to get my things out and going to complain. I wish I would have though. That smell was so powerful, I ended up getting a migraine and slept maybe 3 hours.
Older property, but well cared for and clean. Price was very good and room was very comfortable. Location right on interstate. Blackface was included. The room was quite and there were no negative issues
Very conveniently located friendly and helpful staffs asked for extra towels and blanket front desk person brought to me in the room room was clean beds are very comfortable love to come back here again on my next travel
The hotel is okay. It took way to long for me to get checked in. The lady didn't know what she was doing too begin with she charged my card twice for a one night stay. My bank caught her mess up. My profile clearly says no upstairs room she was trying 2 put me n a upstairs room. The room was supposed too be a none smoking room the had been smoked in cigarette cartoon left behind etc. House keeping don't pay attention to stuff like this. Theirs spider webs in the corner, the bed sheets are not well maintained. The toilet is being half cleaned. Take a look at the photos. The little mine frig wasn't cold it was just cool. The temperature was sat on#4. They are fast to turn off the air conditioning and lower the temperature on the refrigerator but can't clean the room like it's supposed to be.
Front desk decors are nice , friendly staff offered me bottled water after checking in rooms are very clean asked for extra towel hotel staff brought me in the room. used the gym room for workout was okay grab and go option was nice.
Receptionist was very friendly, helpful and polite. Room and bed was clean and tidy.Housekeeping service was good. Manager was very friendly, cooperative and courteous. Motel is located in good and pleasant environment. Overall experience was great.
very good location off I30. front desk people were very friendly and quick. rooms are very clean and well maintained looking, had coffee at the lobby and was very good with grab and go breakfast with fresh fruit banana and orange. love to come back here next time with my friend.
The front desk although polite seemed understaffed. After waiting a few minutes for someone to come back from helping other customers, we were given a room. Upon entering we were greeted with a very strong stench of cigarette smoke. We went to the front desk to request a different room and were given a second room. This room had no smell so we said thank you and the staff member left. Upon trying to turn on a lamp we found it to be duct taped together. Then we pulled back the sheets on one of the beds to find a pile of dirt and hair as if someone with dirty feet had previously slept there and the sheets had not been changed. The whole thing was just unpleasant and we were out of confidence with this particular location so we decided to check out and find a different hotel. We have stayed in numerous best westerns and have never had this kind of experience. The front desk seemed clean enough so from outward appearances it seemed fine. We don't expect luxury but do require clean sheets and breathable air. This was really disappointing. Unless there is a major remodel or increase in staffing, I would not recommend staying here. It seems like it was an acquired dilapidated motel that is just going farther downhill. I wouldn't even mind paying more (the price was quite low) for decent accommodations which we ended up doing at the la Quinta which was much nicer and also had hot breakfast instead of the sack of bottled water and apple that the best western was offering. We plan to stay at other best westerns but probably not this one ever again.
Looked at the summary review rating online and thought this would be a good place to spend our Saturday night on the road. After not having a great night the night before, we were both exhausted. Check in was very slow. We were told the only bottom floor room left was the one they showed us (the Jacuzzi room). It was a bit shocking to see a HUGH jacuzzi tub right next to the queen size bed, but since it had a separate shower and we were exhausted, we agreed to take the room. We brought out stuff into the room and were getting ready to settle in, when my husband found a clumb of black hair on the floor (thank God no rugs in this room). Grossed out, he took it to the front desk and they took a whole $3 off the room rate. After further inspection, we found a long black hair in the bathroom sink and a hand towel with a permanent stain. I had spilled some water on the floor and when I used that same hand towel to clean it up, the towel came away brown from the dirt on the floor. We packed up and checked out. One of the wall mounted lights beside the bed was falling off the wall as well. Honestly, you just can't make this stuff up. Truly gross under normal circumstances, but during a time of a pandemic -- horrifying. After going to the corporate web site, it appears we were over charged as well.
I booked a 7-night stay at Best Western Mt Pleasant through Guest Reservation / Hotel Values / GetARoom website. Every facet of the stay was terrible. Amenities listed (free breakfast, laundry & fitness rooms, pool) were not available “due to COVID” however, there was nothing on the hotel or reservation site stating that (since my return there is a now note on the breakfast on Best Western's site) and free Wi-Fi was intermittent. Had I known this; I would not have booked with them. The door swipe keys did not work, taking multiple swipes to get in and we had to have them re-keyed every day because they stopped working altogether. The 3rd time, I asked for new cards, since they worked so poorly, but that didn't help either. If we hadn't had 2 cards, we would have been locked out of our room multiple times. The reservation was for 3 adults in a room with 2 beds and a fold-out couch. I called the hotel in advance to let them know we would need the sofa bed made. They said they would provide the bed linen, but we would have to make it, however, when we arrived there were no linens in the room. The guy at the front desk told me “we don't do that” but when I said it was advertised as a usable bed I was told, “I'll check with the manager” they later came and provided one sheet (not 2) and a heavy bedspread (not needed due to hot summer temperatures). There were only 2 towels on a reservation for 3 adults, I asked the maid for an extra set. However, when the towels were replaced, I had to again ask for a 3rd towel (we finally started using our beach towels as this happened every day). The maid did not clean the room/make beds/change sheets, she only replaced the towels and emptied the trash the entire week except for on the 6th day, after I had made 3 requests to have linen changed. When sheets were changed, they took the one sheet that was on the sofa bed and did not replace it. Since the other “bedspreads” were sheets, my older son took his sheet bedspread off and gave it to my younger son to sleep on. The front desk staff was often rude, I know they were tired of seeing me every day and I was certainly tired of having to bring one issue after another to their attention. I worked as a maid for many years and I normally give a lot of slack because I know what it's like to work in a hotel, but that place was horrible, didn't even come close to meeting basic expectations. I have a video of us trying to use the room key to get it, but can't upload to this site.
We were sent to a supposedly non-smoking room, but the smoke was so bad it burned your eyes. The next room was worse and the front desk guy either didn't notice or pretended not to. A couple rooms later, we finally found a room that still smelled like smoke but maybe hadn't been smoked in so recently. The air conditioner filter seemed to have soaked up quite a bit of it and blasted it out when it was on. We had to settle on something cause the reservation was non-refundable and we didn't have much space in our budget to flip them the bird and look elsewhere. The room was dirty besides the smell. There were toenail clippings in the corners of the bathroom and pubic hair in the shower. The shower drain cover looked like a child had tried and failed to glue it in place. The bed sheets at least seemed clean. There was no breakfast in the morning and that would have been fine given the covid circumstances, but with the poor condition of the room and the fact that the front desk lady in the morning did not wear a mask, it was clear they didn't care a bit about stopping covid. It was just an excuse save a few bucks. Would not recommend.
We booked here sight unseen as the photos made it real attractive but... it was anything but. First it was painted in a Latino them complete with groups of shirtless guys hanging out in the parking lot drinking. Room access was outside and the rooms we got, the keycard reader was dead. Beds inside were rock hard. We felt unsafe there due to the set-up and the numerous poorly hidden cameras. The management did cancel our reservation and refunded our money.
This place is beyond dirty. The counter in the lobby was sticky, the floor and wall behind the bed hasn't been cleaned in years probably, and the cubby hole where the mircrowave sits isn't finished. I will never be staying here again. The soap dish at the sink was dirty. Room stunk bad.
I will never stay here again. Manager argued with me about pet policy. Side walk was nasty. Carpet was stained and dirty by the lamp. Told I would be emailed a receipt at check out. I still have not received it. Yes. I know sometimes you get what you pay for. BUT, we stayed at a nearby town a few weeks ago and it was older as well but clean and I was given a receipt at check out. And they charged less on pets. I do not recommend this hotel.
My advice is tp pay the difference for the Holiday Inn Express or The Hampton Inn. This the kind of hotel where people actually live there. It is an old, run down hotel with a new paint job. Very unimpressed.
Front office staff was excellent and so helpful. Room was clean with plenty of necessary amenities. Did not have the breakfast. The bed was tall as I am 5ft it was a bit of a hop but comfortable. Will stay here again if ever in the area.
The room was very nice and clean, the ice box was not cold went we got there, but were cold by the morning, the beds were clean and soft. I have a problem with hotels that are not clean. This was one of the best one ever.
Beds were not comfortable, cleanliness around microwave was gross, running toilet... typical for a low-end budget motel experience. Best Western brand is not helped by this location. Low pricing reflects the lower quality.
We stayed on night. Very low cost and we got what we paid for ... there were white stains on the red chair. The air conditioner would not shut off and had to be unplugged as it would not turn off on a certain setting... the room was fine if your just looking for a bed... staff at the front desk was nice but not really helpful
I booked a room on-line, called in advance to make sure they had our reservations, then checked in and when we got to our room door was wide open and the room smelled awful! I had some room spray with me but that didn't help at all. Was in there about a minute and my allergies was so terrible that I couldn't stand it. We ended up not staying and now we cannot get the General Manager to return our phone calls nor refund our money for the room. I have been trying for over seven days and keep being told the manager is not on sight and he just pops in and out. He has been left numerous messages and even Best Western Corparate Office has called and left a message for him to call me which he has not done. My personal opinion is if everyone ran their business like he is running this one they wouldn't last long. He should be fired. Very bad customer service. I am still waiting on a phone call from him. We will see if I ever get one.
We reserved our hotel through the Best Western website, and picked it because of the seemingly good deal, location, and our experience comfortable stays at other BW hotels. When we got here, the concierge (with her AirPods in-ear) told us we had reserved a smoking room. We just wanted to sleep, so we initially said this was okay. Upon entering the room, the smoke smell was overwhelming, and we immediately went back to the front desk to ask for another room. The same worker said they ONLY had smoking rooms, and that we could not change our reservation since it was done through a third party. The parking lot told us otherwise, as there were only a handful of cars in the lot at 9pm. I'm also not quite sure how booking through the website deems it a "third party." Our room and bed was uncomfortable, and the bathroom was pretty outdated with well-used toilets and shower.
Indian man was very rude, and smelled funny. But it's okay because the lady that works there was cute so it evened out.... Still not happy with the service. Also to anyone trying to use the latter in the pool, all the steps are broken.
We stayed here 8 days while visiting some family. The hotel was a older hotel but was cosmetically upgraded. Was a comfortable stay. This hotel is all outdoor access. It does have a outdoor pool that was open but in sure not heated during our stay. Breakfast consisted of biscuits and gravy (lukewarm gravey), eggs and sausage, cereal, and waffles. For $50/nt I think it was everything I expected. The staff was very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay again if we had a need in the near future.
PROBLEM. I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY TWO DAY RESERVATION FROM ONE WEEKEND TO THE PRECEDING WEEKEND. IT WAS A NON-REFUNDABLE B00KING BUT I WAS NOT CANCELING THE B00KING JUST MOVING UP ONE WEEK. • RESERVATIONS o This hotel does not recognize its self to be part of the Best Western establishmentl • So, after two days of trying to work through the hotel – because the General Manager was not there- I called the Best Western 8oo reservations again. o I was told later that the General Manager stays away for months at a time. • It took the intervention of the Best Western customer service 1 ½ days to get the hotel to recognize that this was not a cancellation of booking but a change in dates. • It basically took 4 days to change a reservation to one week earlier than originally booked. • SERVICE o We were working on a project when Housekeeping came by Saturday afternoon. We said we were fine, so they left. o We went out to dinner, came back at 8pm and there were no towels in the room and the beds were not made. We got up Sunday. Since there were zero / zilch towels in the room we drove back to Houston. I got a call from the Mount Pleasant Best Western hotel telling me I was being charged $30.00 for missing towels. • I told the desk clerk that we had no towels or service after Saturday afternoon. • She was able to verify that there was no service to the room Saturday, even after we left for dinner.
I booked this hotel based upon the price and the great reviews on Trip Advisor. However I was very disappointed. I guess I should have looked at the photos more carefully. 1). The doors are on the outside of the building. 2) it's located near a truck stop. 3) the parking lot is not very well lit. When I did enter the room none of the lights worked from the switch so I had to prop the door open to manually turn on the lamp that was in the middle of the room. Once I closed the door I noticed it was an adjoining room and the toilet was running. That was the last straw. The manager was nice enough to refund my entire stay and I went to another hotel. I would not recommend this hotel if you are a female solo traveler.
Older property, but we'll maintained. great staff, always helpful and happy and willing to go the extra step to make sure your stay is great. Breakfast is always hot and fresh. If you are staying in mt pleasant THIS is a great place to dtay
This is an inn aka a motel without outside doors. Room was smoking room and guests were sitting outside their rooms smoking and playing music at 10:30 pm arrival. Stayed less than 5 minutes & attempted to get another room. Front desk said there were none & they couldn't credit the charge. Said I would have to take it up with Customer Care during regular business hours. Sadly the reviews were not even remotely accurate for this property. Customer Care was unable to assist with a credit, but did offer 5000 points to loyalty account. Disputed with my CC company and they provided an instant/permanent credit for the charge. Seriously disappointed with this property and BW response. FYI - went across the highway and had a fabulous overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Express.
When I arrived I was a little confused on location, I walked in and the young lady at the desk was really polite and even offered food recommendations, we talked about nail locations, she was really just friendly!! The room was great, clean, roomy and just comfortable.. and for a Friday night it was really quiet..
Stayer this weekend with two autistic kids and wanted to change our reservation at the last minute - the front desk clerk was so accommodating, even though they were over booked. This sure made our stay so much more enjoyable. Thanks so much Mr Ragu!!!!!
I am a smoker and didn't not get to make reservations until the last minute. I did use a non smoking room on this go. It was very nice and I did use the King suite. It was nice and it was clean . Also larger than the rooms I've used before. It was a good room. I did spend a lot of time out on the breeze way to smoke, but I did enjoy the spacious room. I would recommend this suite to any non smoker and to a party of 2 to 5. The breakfast is always good and breakfast items are easy to get to, as well as the appliances used for breakfast. The staff were friendly and nice. I'll use this location again, if I ever return to this area.
I stayed in this hotel for one night along with my wife and 5 kids (we had two adjoining rooms) while travelling for vacation. The hotel is off the highway next to a Subway, gas station, and an Italian Restaurant that appeared closed. We were happy to have a lot big enough to park our camper and we could walk to a McDonalds. This is a pretty run-down hotel, but it was clean enough for an overnight stay. For some reason the lid to our toilet tank was removed when we checked in and the room smelled a bit musty, but otherwise it was OK. The rooms had a microwave and fridge which both worked but they seemed pretty old. The beds were not very comfortable and my 6 year old complained that the pull-out bed was so uncomfortable she couldn't sleep. The walkways on the second floor are not level and there is no elevator to the second floor that we saw. They have an outdoor pool which was refreshing after a long day of driving but there were quite a few leaves in the pool and it took a while to track down an employee to get towels and the front desk was unmanned for what seemed like a long time. The breakfast area was behind the lobby check-in. The breakfast food was basic – the eggs were not very edible but the sausage was OK as was the make your own waffles. The eating area was pretty cramped. Our battery died over the night and there was no one at the hotel who could help so we had to call AAA for a jump. This is a basic road-side motel which is clean enough for an overnight stay.
For a last minute stop it was decent. Room was clean but not enough towels. Evening attendant was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast seriously sucked which was a huge disappointment as it was one of the big reasons we chose that hotel.
My husband and I stayed last Saturday at the Best Western Mt. Pleasant Inn while going to look for a home to buy in the area. I selected this hotel because of the awesome stay my granddaughter and I had at the Best Western Trail Dust in Sulfur Springs. We were not disappointed. Had a King suite which was in the one story area of the hotel (thank goodness no stairs) the room was very nice and very quiet! I thought the breakfast went until 9:30 and arrived in the lobby at about 9:05, asked the desk clerk if they had breakfast opened until 9:30 and she advised me the breakfast ran until 9:00, oh my goodness I was too late! She quickly assured me to please help myself she still had everything out and on. I quickly made a plate up for my husband (too far of a walk for him) and asked her if I might be able to get a waffle when I got right back from taking his breakfast to him. She advised me that would be fine and indeed she was right! I do think on a weekend morning they should keep breakfast open till 10:00 or at least 9:30. I know they have quite a few folks that work for the highway system staying there but some travelers get in rather late and it is sometimes difficult to get up so very early if you are tired. All said great job Best Western Mt. Pleasant Inn, you were indeed a "Pleasant" experience!
First, let me say I am picky. We arrived after midnight and left by 9:30 am. This was just a place to sleep and shower on our way from Michigan to Austin, so this is not an in-depth review. I would have addressed issues with the manager, but there was not one on site. The staff ( night and morning desk personal) were polite and efficient. They were not friendly or chatty and neither even smiled or welcomed us. The room was clean, even by my high standards. The air was not on so the room was stuffy. There was no “do not disturb” sign available for our room. The carpet is dated, but in excellent condition. There were 2 sets of towels that were thin and rough, but a good size. They provide 2 bars of soap and 1 small shampoo. No conditioner meant it took me 1/2 hour to brush through my hair which is shoulder length, straight and thin. They have a nice curved rod in the shower, but it was placed so far in the shower that it made the shower feel very small even for my slight 5'3” frame. It also was bent down so far that the shower curtain dragged on the bottom 1/3 of the tub. Sink was granite, but was set at a low handicap height- way too low for me and uncomfortable for my 6' husband. Bed was firm. Refrigerator worked well and was quiet. We did not turn on the TV. Breakfast was not a continental, but fair. As a person with a gluten allergy, I only had the option of regular flavored yogurts, bananas, and sausage patties and links. The eggs are from a carton which means they contain gluten. None of the cereals were gluten free. My husband said there was biscuits and gravy and waffles, which he did not try. He said the powdered eggs and sausage were just ok. He also said the orange juice was excellent. They could add simple things like Greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs, Cheerios ( which are gluten free) and oatmeal as healthy options, which would also give those with gluten sensitivity more choices. Overall bottom line: this is a clean no frills budget friendly hotel.
Great value for the money... you getThis is a clean room and a nice place to sleep for a cheap price. Very worker-oriented motel so parking may be limited but as long as you're not expecting the Ritz Carlton, you'll be happy with this room.
The rooms are accessed from the outside, rather than entering through the lobby. The rooms are great...not big, but super clean, very comfortable, and decorated really nicely. The bed was great, the linens were great, the tub and shower was great with good water pressure. The room was user friendly with everything you need. The soap and shampoo was high quality. Easy access to highway but the rooms face away from the highway noise, so it was a quiet sleep. I would definitely stay here again. We had a noisy neighbor, and she was very loud in the morning, talking right outside our room on her cell, but that is not the hotel's fault. The parking lot is well lit and I was not at all worried about leaving stuff in the car. Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely stay here again.
The parking is good. The check inn went fast. The lady that checked me in was very friendly and professional. The rooms were nice and updated. I beds were comfortable. The shower had good water pressure. The internet was just ok.
This hotel is good for travelers that just need a place to sleep right off of the highway so your not far from route. It was clean but the shower clogged up so I was showering in my own filth. Breakfast was just ok.
The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. I liked the free wifi. The ice machine worked well but had an awkward low positioned output that took two hands to hold a bag over it while a helper pushed the button. The place was a bit noisy on the weekend that I stayed there. The staff was friendly. I didn't try the free breakfast and didn't watch any TV. There is a considerable dip between the parking lot and the street, so be slow and careful when going over that with your vehicle.
Excellent hotel, clean, front desk gave us excellent service. They let us park our bikes at front area under the drive through balcony. Our room overlooked the swim pool. Several Restaurants near by which we ate at Applebee's.
This hotel was very affordable and the staff were friendly. We stopped twice. On our way to our destination and on the way back. The hotel also provides a complimentary breakfast and pool. It is nothing fancy but definitely a great value.
Check in was great and friendly at 1am. I am a smoker, so I don't need a fancy room. The bathroom area was clean and acceptable, as well as the room itself. Only housekeeping needs to clean better under the bed skirt. There were stains on the carpet. I really don't require much, I only had two issues that are not of great importance. One was that there was not a plug outlet in the cubby where the coffee station is in the room. The second was check out, which is their policy and every Best Western is differently managed, because I am a day sleeper I was asking if they could work with me on an extra hour for check out. I would've been charged half a night's stay if I did do an extra hour for check out. So for those days sleepers, stick with their policy and check out when or before you are expected. My only hats off goes to the over night staff, they were inviting, friendly and resourceful! Oh, the most important thing, was that the bed was comfortable! I slept very well!
This motel is obviously an older property that has had a facelift. It looks very nice on the outside when you drive up, the lobby area is well done, the pool area looks nice, and the breakfast was satisfactory. Be sure to watch that you or your kids don't fall off the elevated walkway that has no safety railing in one section of the rooms. And there's that outdoor smoking area that serves as a congregation point to disturb the nearby rooms. In our room, there were no electrical outlets accessible near the desk to plug in a laptop computer. Fortunately I have learned to always pack an extension cord to overcome that problem. Then there was that noticeable gap between the door and frame. But my favorite amenity was the duct tape holding the floor lamp together. That's a nice touch. The motel reminded me of that old saying about putting lipstick on a pig. We slept okay and the rate was cheap, so it has that going for it.
Great room, prices and enjoyable stay. The price was wonderful which is what had drawn us to the hotel. The employees helpful and the rooms clean. The breakfast was good and had a verity for everyone in our family.
Rooms were clean and new, staff very friendly! Best value for room and also pet friendly! Stay 2 nights while moving and enjoyed the pool! The beds were very comfortable and included plenty of pillows!
I have paid almost double in price for rooms not as nice as these. Extremely clean! Coffee, fridge, and microwave in the room. Very comfortable bed and super quiet. Stayed on a Friday night and the price was unbeatable. 5 stars all the way
I was there for 4 hours and got zero sleep. There were about 20 people packed into the room below me having a party. Then a huge fight broke out and spilled outside in front of the room. People were crashing into walls, breaking furniture and throwing bottles. Awful. I grabbed my stuff and snuck out at 1:30 am because it was not a safe place to be. I told them what was happening outside and that i was leaving, and they refused to refund my money. Don't stay here, ever!
One of the best hotels for the money that we've ever stayed at. Easily the equal to $100 room. The bed was super comfortable, the room was large and clean and the water pressure in the shower was awesome. Breakfast had a lot to offer and was very good! Easy on and off I-30.
My wife and I stayed the night here on our way to Dallas. Our room was very nice with a couch and mini kitchen. Very comfortable bed. Shower pressure was excellent! Good coffee in the room, and plentiful breakfast options the next morning. King mini suite was just $65 plus tax. Great deal in my opinion.
Booked while on the road, great rate. Rooms were clean but strongly smelled of a Lysol-type disinfectant which was off-putting. Bed hard as a rock in one room, comfy in another. Breakfast ok, OJ watery, couldn't make a to-go plate but understand there's probably a reason for that. Front desk check in was great.
The locating and the way the hotel sits on the property is a bit off, wele had to go out on a road to get to the back of the place to access our room. The room was clean and well appointed add far as bedding, only 2 regular sized & 2 hand & 2 face towels. But there were standard things like a coffee maker, iron & ironing board, Wi-Fi, 32" T.V., and hair drier. The things I did not enjoy or that were a disappointment? No lower rooms available, walking upstairs in rain - even in a concrete staircase - is not my idea of fun. Then while walking the top floor walkway is made of a tile that hers fairly slippery when wet, they have a sloped area with strips of gritty paper but don't step off the grit on those areas, I almost bit it a few times!
Good points: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was prompt and efficient. Breakfast was top notch. Room was nicely done, Bed and pillows were excellent, best sleep I've ever gotten in a motel. Bigger bathroom than normal was GREAT! Easy access to and from the highway. Parking lot was first rate. Price was right on for a double. Could use work points: Light switch inside the door actually turn on a light so you're not entering into a dark room hunting for a light. Since travelers have more electronic devices today that need charged more electrical outlets and easier access to those available would be nice. Make vending machines more accessible to visitors in the backside rooms. Get a receipt on check out even if you booked online. Was told receipt would be emailed to me, I've been home 3 days now and still no email receipt. Summary: Would I stay there again? Yes, and I did. Circumstances were such I needed to stay in town an extra day so I returned to Best Western Mt. Pleasant Inn and got the same room again (which I did ask for). Would I recommend this motel? Yes, and I did.
This hotel is rather old and a little difficult to get to. But the staff at the front desk are so friendly, and the rooms are clean. We've stayed there several times while traveling and are always satisfied.
Reservation was for non smoking. Upon arrival nonsmoking unavailable and the staff very rude. Left even though was charged and stayed at next exit at the days inn which was cheaper and staff very friendly.
This hotel was a great value for the money we paid. It also is a pet friendly hotel which is a must for us. We found the room to be clean and appeared to be newly renovated. If we find ourselves in this area again and in need for a room we would certainly stay there again.
a little hard to find right at dusk but the desk clerk said they were getting a new sign next week....beautiful place to stay...the cleaning staff didn't clean as well as can be expected but the room was very nice and quiet and a good place to stay
No hassle, great bed, all was clean. The place was quiet, the room was spacious. The room had a small refrigerator and a microwave, a small coffee pot. The shower/tub had many safety grab bars. The staff was courteous and attentive.
Have stayed here four times in the last 2 years always excellent service very nice rooms good rates. Very very nice place to stay. They are currently doing a little remodeling so the place will look even better than it already does. I will stay here again.
I was working in the area & needed a place to stay. This hotel worked fine. Good place for the price and easy access to places that I needed to go. Front desk staff were helpful and I didn't have any issues. Worked fine and will stay here again when in the area.
I had to call Customer Service at Best Western before the general manager at this Best Western would honor our Best Western rewards. Customer Service called and made sure our rewards were honored, but it was a needless hassle. First the clerk here told us we had made the reservation through a third party website which meant we couldn't use the rewards—but we had used the official Best Western reservation site. Then they said we had to call their motel directly to make the reservation in order to use rewards, which is not true. The Customer Service rep immediately called the front desk, while I was on hold, and made sure the rewards were honored. The room was mediocre—we had two skimpy bath towels, the Kleenex dispenser had about three tissues left, but our biggest complaint was the Internet. The connection kept dropping. It was very weak. Breakfast was fairly good, though.
I typically stay at Best Western properties when I go out of town for business. This hotel was something long before becoming a BW property. The exterior looks tired and run down. (Internet pics are deceiving) The rooms were remodeled and clean, but it was next to an abandoned restaurant that was overgrown. (Shares the same parking area) The cost was low so it attracted lower-class renters who were drinking beer all night and smoking marijuana at the pool. I didn't sleep too well because I thought my car was going to be broken into. I like BW properties, but this one probably shouldn't carry their brand.
We had a very restful stay over. The Room was spacious and the Bed was extremely comfortable. The interior of the Room was well planned in that having the Refrigerator, Coffee Maker, and Microwave "stacked " impressed us, as we travel a couple of times every year.
Handy place to stop on route to southern Texas. Have a good hot breakfast and clean comfortable beds. Little pricey for age and overall condition of property. Front appearance of property leaves a lot to be desired, ie., next to abandoned restaurant, several semi's parked by front entrance and basically no curve appeal.
I usually use this Hotel every year during our Family Reunion! The owner and his staff are very friendly! My Sister & her children LOVE the pool! Especially the cool design in the bottom-dolphins! ='.'= They help you with your needs and are very sweet about it! I will always stay at this Best Western when traveling to Mount Pleasant, TX!
We decided not to stay the moment we walked in the door. We got the family suite on the second floor and it was non smoking, but it still smelled like smoke because outside the room was a garbage can/ ash tray. The gap in the door let all the smoke in and bugs into the bed that was almost touching the door when you opened it. The floor in the room had two downward hills in it, that my two small children kept tripping and falling down ( on the dirty carpet) . my husband was carrying our bag down the stairs and almost fell because the rubber matting was loose and hanging off the step. The bathroom had hair and dirt in the shower and the floor was not cleaned either. Pay the extra money and get something cleaner and more safe.
We had made a trip to Texas and were traveling back and wanted to stay on the east side of Dallas so we would not have traffic the next morning. While there are not many motels in Mt Pleasant, I read the reviews on Trip Advisor and chose to stay at the Best Western. The room was very clean, price was very reasonable, and while the motel was several years old, you could tell it had been updated. Best breakfast we have had in a long time in a motel. I would certainly recommend this motel.
I was in Mount Pleasant to attend the Funeral of my Aunt. The room was cooler than I was used to. and there was no was to change the thermostat. It would have been better if the restaurant next door had not been closed.
I booked two nights through booking.com with free cancellation up until 3:59 of date of check-in. When my son's baseball tournament was cancelled I went online at booking.com to cancel around 12:30. Booking.com states that the hotel only charges when you check in and hotel confirmed this when I called to find out why they charged me for the two nights. They claim they did not do it that booking.com did. The hotel acknowledged receipt of the cancellation notice. I thought maybe it was a pre authorization and would fall off but next day they charged me for the one night even though I cancelled in plenty of time. Desk personnel are clueless and the manager is never in and will not return calls. I had to get my bank involved.
The hotel was older than most but was in excellent condition. I would say clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and professional. Breakfast was excellent. We would certainly stay here again. The rate was another excellent factor for staying.
Of all of the Best Western hotels I've stayed at, this is my least favorite. As is always my experience with Best Western the staff was amazing I wish the hotel were in better condition. We ended up in what they called the honeymoon suite, I mentioned if this was my honeymoon suite I'd be getting a divorce. The floor was dirty the carpet was old and bunched up. There was a hot tub in the middle of the room but there was scum all around the side of it & there was hair and something that looked like mold in the jets there was also some type of debris in the bottom of the tub. So I was unwilling to even get into the hot tub.
hotel was easy to find right off the interstate. room was clean and comfortable. Great price. I was not expecting to have a full breakfast at that price. I would stay there again and recommend this hotel if you are traveling in the area.
Great nicely lit lot, friendly staff, very very comfortable bed. I was astonished. The clerk was great, the room was a very artsy color (deep red) loved it I don't know what else to say but it was on par with hotels almost twice the price! And it was almost as good as the hotel I stayed in in Hollywood at 5x the freakin price!!!
I visit a friend in Mt. Pleasant twice a year. This hotel is a reasonably-priced hotel option for me and comfortable for my stay. I appreciate the in-room mini-fridge and microwave a s well as the breakfast offered daily. It's nothing fancy, but the bed and bathroom are clean and we bring our DVD player to watch movies, so it is a nice stay (HBO is good, too!).
Clean updated room, very comfortable. Very good breakfast. Great value, better than some more expensive places. From exterior looks somewhat dated but once in the room surprised on how nice it was. Highly Recommend!
This hotel was very clean!! Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Great experience!! Location was 5 minutes from softball fields. Swimming pool was nice and clean. Staff was constantly trying to help!
Very nice room with comfortable beds. Breakfast was terrific and staff was very friendly and cheerful. Would definitely stay here again! Another reviewer called it a hidden gem and we completely agree!
Stayed two different times, first time room was very nice and modern, second room was a bit more dated. Everything worked, had a nice pool, somewhat small parking lot in the back. My complaint is the breakfast Nazi that chases people down and yells at them for trying to take breakfast to go. Didn't happen to me but saw it occur several times. Seriously calm the heck down, what does it matter if they take a crappy sandwich to their room? Seems like poor management to act like that over a fifty cent item... Will make me think twice about returning when there's several other hotels in the same price range in the immediate area.
This is a very nice hotel in a relatively small place. It has been nicely updated. The breakfast was excellent--nothing was overcooked. Nice variety. The hotel is an older hotel but is very pleasant and very clean. Nice place to stop
We didn't want to drive all the way to Dallas and took a chance on this hotel. We were happy we did. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and surprisingly well-appointed. We could see that they were in the middle of updating the property, including new toilets! Considering the price for the room, it was a great deal. Plus, the breakfast was one of the best I've seen at a hotel of this kind.
Stayed here for an overnight.... Room clean, but relatively dated... Loose toilet seat could be perilous for the very young or old Breakfast was okay Overall if you're looking for a place to rest your head this location definitely should be checked out
We have stayed at better Best Western's. I think they bought an old hotel and remodeled it, but it is still old. Since we have friends in Mt. Pleasant we will stay here again, but at least we know what we are getting.
This hotel is old. There is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up 2 flights of stairs. The floors in the room are so unlevel you are constantly having to walk carefully. They go up hill and downhill every few steps. Walls are thin (crying baby until 10:30 next to us) . Towels are small and threadbare. It was raining and the tile on the sidewalks was wet and VERY slippery! Would not recommend this place. I will not stay here again.
Awesome value with great beds, strong shower, free breakfast with eggs, biscuits & gravy, fruit, waffles and good coffee. We stayed in a King suite with fridge, microwave, couch all very comfortable and clean.
My room was clean and comfortable, and was at a good rate. The shower had great pressure as well. I stayed for one night before traveling to Talco, and will definitely come back if I'm in the area again.
Great location just off I 30. Clean with comfortable beds and nice breakfast. Only two issues were not getting our wake up calls and someone making noise at 4:30 am. Otherwise we had a comfortable stay as usual.
The room was dirty not clean. Television were too small. Good location to order food or get good. Sports channel's were off or blacked out. For a king bed room wss small. Overall my visit was okay. My company has a account with Best Western so I will be staying couple morr times before Christmas.
check in process was terrible waited at front desk for 20 minutes before anyone showed up, it was a place to sleep but not a comfortable bed and the microwave and fridge looked and performed like they were from the 1950s. Pathetic!!!
Very nice room seemed more like a suite than a room clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Wonderful we were on the bottom floor yet no rooms were above us so very quiet peaceful room loved my stay here awesome place!
Excellent service, very clean and attractive room. I highly recommend the Mt Pleasant Best Western. The staff was very helpful with local information, including restaurants and sites to visit locally. Plan to stay again. Breakfast was ok, not great, but had a variety of choices.
Just what you need after a hard day's work and a long drive to boot. Nice pool, clean property, friendly staff and even has an Italian restaurant close by that delivers right to your door! With everything you need to do in town just a few minutes away, it makes it a perfect location for business or pleasure.
Overall my wife and I found this to be an excellent motel. We easily connected 2 computers and 2 phones to the internet. This is a pet friendly hotel, which is important since we never leave our little bulldog behind on our leisure trips. I found the reception area very clean and professional looking with adequate refinements. My only complaint was the elevated office which necessitated stairs. The room was nice and large as well as clean and comfortable. My wife agreed that we should use this hotel again when in this area.
Although this is an older properly it is extremely well cared for. Our king room was spotless and comfortable. Attentive staff. Didn't take advantage of the breakfast. Wifi was good. My second stay, will stay again. We were able to park by the door of our room which was nice. Thought the rates were very reasonable.
The hotel staff on check in could have been a little friendlier. There were a lot of bugs marching into the room from outside. Maybe if the door fit tight it would have been better. To be fair, most came in while going in and out of room. One big problem was, no signs showing hotel. No markings to indicate this was a hotel.
This was a great Best Western to stay at..It has been recently remodeled and we loved it....The staff were very helpful in finding a place for us to eat...the rooms are off the highway and very quiet...nice pool and parking was great....will stay there again if ever in the area. very reasonable rates for a Friday night too...
Had no reservations and were road weary, ready for a clean, restful nights' stay. This reasonably priced motel provided it all. Clean, comfortable bedding, great WiFi, wonderful free breakfast left us completely satisfied. So reasonably priced too! This one is a keeper.
Everything was satisfactory, with a nice bed and linens. Water emanated from the floor in the bathroom at times, through the tiling. That was less than appealing, but after recurring a few times, it stopped. The pool is a nice sized rectangular one, in pleasant surroundings, except for one side which is hopefully in the process of having new landscaping placed. Exterior could use some upgrading, and the rooms are accessed directly through exterior doors. Bathroom was not as clean as I would prefer, but nothing terrible either.
Our stay was very good. Staff extremely helpful. Only drawback was I am in a wheelchair and the hotel had no handicapped rooms, however the room and bathroom were large enough that I was able to have my needs met.
Entrance looked as if nobody was around and the exterior of the hotel could use some sprucing up but everything else was excellent. Jeff at the front desk was especially knowledgeable and helpful. The room was spacious and well-appointed. We did not use the pool area, but it was very attractive. I would stay here again.
Well Best Western does it again to me. Not the quality of hotel I expected. Our room obviously had a roof leak as we had a wet spot on our floor near the foot of our queen beds. The Sofa sleeper was actually a oversized chair that only slept one person however the mattress was coming away from the frame and there was that terrible bar in the middle. So the person who used it had a miserable nights sleep. I was honestly just glad to get there to rest up from a long day's ride and get out of there as soon as I could. I'm not sure how everyone else's room was in my group but I wasn't too excited about mine. Also the pool was closed and it had nasty dirty water in it. Not a pleasant sight to see coming out of your room. To be honest with you when I pulled in the parking lot I thought the place was closed down and that the Best Western was further down. I was just turning around in the parking lot. It turned out I was there. But the staff was friendly. Very friendly.
Older hotel in a good location, easy access to I30. Several gas stations and restaurants in the area. Location is a bit hilly and walk area are slopped, so need to be careful while walking, especially if it had been raining.
We stayed in a mini suite and couldn't be more satisfied. Nice decor, clean, everything works, free wifi, friendly staff, comfortable bed, couldn't ask for anything more. It doesn't look great on the outside, it doesn't look bad, just average. Definitely doesn't look like an upscale hotel but you will be pleasantly surprised by the rooms and staff.
very nice hotel. nice breakfast. nice location. nice people. lovely location. Best Western Hotels are really consistent. you always know what you are going to get. they are never dirty or nasty. I would definitely return.
Excellent service: check-in and check-out simple and easy; food was great and had full breakfast from delicious waffles to eggs, sausage and bisquits with cream gravy, fruit, cereal, muffins, coffee, milk and fruit juices; rooms with living area TV and bedroom TV, clean beds and bathroom, mini fridge and microwave in the rooms, sofa chair writing desk and coffee table in each room.
The Best Western in Mt Pleasant is a pleasant surprise. The outside is a work in progress. It is obvious that they are rehabing the place. Our room was quite nice...a suite of sorts. There was a partial divider between the sitting area and the bedroom. Everything was up to date and clean. There were adequate electrical outlets, lighting and a great shower. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was more than adequate. The employees were friendly and helpful. You really get value for the price.
We stayed only one night just passing through. The people that ran it were great. We requested a non-smoking room as far away from a smoking room as possible and after doing a search they found one that the closest smoking room was 3 rooms away. I thought that type of service was exceptional. The room was clean and new. They are going through a remodel and we got one of the newer rooms. The pool was under construction, but that was fine because it's November and too cold to swim. I would stay there again. Actually, I would probably seek it out next time I need to stop in Mt. Pleasant. Room had a fridge, microwave, and free WiFi.
Not the best in the West, but going in the right direction. Staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived later than expected, but had a nice reception at the front desk. He remembered that we called which is always nice.
The only reason this hotel didn't get 5 stars from me was the parking. Parking was awkward. The location of the hotel was perfect, not right in the middle of town and right by the highway and several food locations. The room was very clean and did not disappoint. Will visit again if in the area again.
Unbelievable difference from the outside to the beautiful spacious and excellent suites inside!!! I could not believe it when I went inside my room, what a excellent hotel and they know where to put the money on the "INSIDE" very clean room with 2 flat screen tv's, separate sitting area suite for 63 dollars a night!! I cannot say how good a night sleep I had here during a severe thunderstorm which I never heard from inside the room in a topper bed that was soooo comfortable I give it a very rare 5 stars for price and quality!!! THANK YOU, you are what a hotel should be for price and quality!!
My husband surprised me with a stay at this hotel and we were very pleased! Our room had a jacuzzi in it and plenty of coffee, wash clothes, and towels! Highly recommend! Just check out the pics! When visiting the quaint town of Mt. Pleasant, you need to visit Sweet Shop USA for some amazing trufles and other sweets! The Edison Phonograph museum is pretty neat, too.
I was surprised about this motel. This motel didn't look to nice, the rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable and ended up getting a good night's rest. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had one room lift when I checked in. Price was reasonable and breakfast wasn't that great but had a hot eggs and sausage. Great job I would stay here again!
We spent a peaceful nights stay at this property. Our room was actually a suite with a small sitting room with TV. This worked out well so one person could sleep while the other watched TV. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Perfect one night stay while traveling.
While traveling in our car, we made a last minute reservation at the Best Western in Mount Pleasant, Texas when we meant to reserve at the Best Western in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. We called the hotline immediately and attempted to cancel. We were told that it was up to the individual hotel so we left a message with the front desk. Once the owner had gotten our message, he was very understanding and refunded our mistake. He was friendly and quick with his communication. I appreciated his understanding. Though I cannot attest to the other facets of this hotel, I can say with certainty that he went out of his way to help us and that was awesome.
We made reservations online 2 hours before we got there. As soon as we got there and actually saw it I was so disappointed. By the looks of the outside, I just knew it was gonna be nasty and filled with bugs. We got to our room and I was very surprised. It was very clean and no bugs. The beds were made nicely. We would definitely stay there again.
I found out right at 4:00 pm that my reservation was at the wrong Mount Pleasant location and was on the phone with this motel at 4:05 pm. They would not cancel my reservation and charged me the full rate for a room. I would understand if I cancelled because I changed my mind but it was a mistake. When I went to the mount pleasant location I thought I had a room at they told me at least 2-3 times a week they have people who had reservations at the wrong mount pleasant. Makes me wonder if it is a computer glitch. After multiple phone calls requesting to talk to a manager at the Texas location I was always told the manager was not there and my calls were NEVER returned. They caused a lot of undue stress on a weekend that should have been all happiness with a child's wedding.
I stay here because of price vs. quality. They beat out the competition hands down. I get the military discount and have never been disappointed. The staff is very pleasant to deal with and extremely helpful.
Beautifully decorated, immaculate ---- and the front desk / they must have been angels. .... Mr. Smith was on duty that night --and wow--our first night in TX ....made us want to move there! We hated to leave- but had to attend a wedding .... ! The nicest people...easy to pull in -- ( with my walking issues) ... and just wonderful !! I can't say enough about this precious place. The young lady in the morning by the breakfast room was fantastic !!! The nicest best Western on our trip ! Cudos to Jeff Smith and Amy Anderson! VERY HELPFUL!
