    « Good value »

Overall experience was great. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room and good location. The lobby was being remodeled but this did not impact quality of service that we received. I would definitely stay here in the future.

« Too much road noise, lousy breakfast, construction and no coffee before 0600 »

Stay away from this place unless you like an uncomfortable bed, lousy shower water pressure, sand paper towels and road noise. I would suggest that Best Western take their name off of this place. I had a queen room, but because it was a queen room, no microwave was provided. The parking was horrendous even though the website says that there is "oversized parking". I had difficulty parking my F350. The road noise was loud. I checked my 6 rooms in at 4pm and 1 out of 6 was ready. The last room was not ready until 7 pm. 2 days in a row housekeeping left no toilet paper. I went to the office and asked for some and was told that "housekeeping" would bring me some. They brought me a roll 45 minutes later. We were out of toilet paper when I asked for it. Toilet paper must be gold at this place since I could not be trusted to be given a roll. The office was under construction, breakfast was a joke, no coffee until 6 am and breakfast items were served in a guest room as well as the office being located in a guest room. When I made the reservations and identified myself as a Diamond rewards member they could have cared less and did not tell me about the construction going on in the motel. The ice machine was at the back of the motel, through an unmarked door, off of an unlit alley at the back of the motel that had no light in the room. I will never stay at this place again and recommend that others avoid it as well

« Kinda good. Kinda bad. »

Stayed here during the renovation of the front lobby. Outside looks typical motel-like. Typically there are 1 to 4 people in the outer hallway smoking. Check in was quick and pleasant. Room was very, very, nice. No smoke smell. However, breakfast was exactly the opposite. Horrible coffee. No milk some times. Most pastries gone by 8:00. However, eggs made in the microwave were usually available and not great. So, great room. Horrible breakfast service. No parking for large trucks.

« Dont judge by the outside - nice rooms, friendly staff »

Wasnt sure what I was going to get when I pulled up, but I was pleasantly surprised. Room was very clean, recently updated (within past 1-2 years) with new paint, carpet, bedding, TV, bathroom fixtures. Staff was polite and friendly, and helpful with local dining suggestions. The main lobby was under construction so they used one of the rooms as an office. Hotel is in walking distance to the Metra Golf station, which worked out great.

    « Inconvenient Renovations »

We were not aware of renovations. I asked other guests, and they said they weren't made aware before they booked their stays either. The power went out intermittently in the room for our two-day stay. We walked around a cramped room to get breakfast, and on our second day we came home to notice the cleaner(s) had left our door unlocked by putting the latch in front of the door to keep it from shutting. Luckily, no one took any of our belongings.

    « Dont Stay Here »

This was the worst hotel stay experience ever. The pictures on the website do not match what the rooms look like. During our stay, the hotel lobby was being remodeled and completely inaccessible. The exercise room was a storage area for paint and building supplies. We had problems throughout the entire stay (6 nights). I asked for a quiet room away from the noise of the busy street and was given a room in the back of the building. This inn does not have an elevator or an interior corridor. If you have to go to the front desk or to where they serve complimentary breakfast, be prepared to put on your coat and walk around the building to get to the front. There's no short access from front to back, you must walk completely outside around the long building in a poorly lit alley. When we got to our room, we found a TV Remote that had been left broken(literally in two pieces), a mini fridge which didn't work, and a toilet that would not flush, even though it had not been used. I contacted the hotel manager, who responded by swapping out the TV remote and fridge from another room; but how he handled the toilet situation was unbelievable. He brought a plunger and worked for few minutes while we stood around thinking he may need to give us a different room. Finally, he announced that it was working now, and then took one of the towels from the bathroom to wrap the plunger in. Anyone who decides they have to stay here should bring their own towels, and possibly even sheets. We also later discovered that the bathroom shower handle was loose and came off while taking a shower. We didn't mention this to management, just stuck it back on and cranked it to where it needed to be. There were two dispensers in the shower, one for soap, and one for shampoo, but both were empty. Good thing we brought our own soap. One night, I went to get some ice from the ice machine, which was in an unlocked room, that had no light switch. I had to use the flashlight option on my cell phone to find the machine. Fortunately, no one was lurking around - felt very unsafe. One day we had a power outage, and I'm not sure how long, since we were out most of the day. When we came back we noticed nothing was working, and again had to call the front desk. We sat around in our coats waiting. An hour later - we had lights, heat, and electricity again. Fortunately, we didn't have anything perishable in the mini fridge that needed to stay cold or frozen. Another day, while working from the hotel, the WiFi went out. Down for 30+ hours. After complaining about this they only offered me a $15 credit on my bill. Make sure you have your own wifi hotspot or a backup plan if you need dependable Internet access. If you expect to communicate with the maids or cleaning staff, bring your English-to-Spanish dictionary. It appears that at this location, English is not required to work there. At one time, a member of the cleaning team, just used there access card and opened my room door without even knocking. Good thing we were already dressed. There are many options to stay in Northwestern Chicago. This Best Western is definitely not your best option. If I could give it zero stars I would. Hopefully, this helps someone with their decision on where to stay and where not to stay.

« A great place inpart due to wonderful staff »

We just chose this facility, dropped in, to find a great place to stay, very clean, comfortable, and the best, friendly, connective staff we have ever experienced. We traveled back and for to the inner city, finding in this location a nice accompaniment of surrounding places for dining, fuel, and entertainment, easily within a short drive. We will stay there again when we are back in the area. Our thanks especially to our check in lady, Imelda.

    « Newly remodeled rooms! »

This hotel was perfect for our overnight stay. Felt very safe in the neighborhood and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in had recently been remodeled and was tastefully decorated and very clean. I would stay here again, no doubt about it!

    « Clean and comfortable. »

When we pulled up to this motel we were not sure what to think. Its a motel in a strip mall kind of weird. They are working on the lobby which looks like a mess. But the women doing the check in was very nice and helpful. And when we got into the room it was super clean and very updated. The bathroom was huge and also very clean. In the morning breakfast was in one of the rooms which did not have any tables. The breakfast was the usual - nothing great. I wish Best Western would go back to having hard boiled eggs instead of the those tasteless scramble egg patties. Check out again the guy was very nice and helpful. We would stay again if in the area.

    « Great place for a rest »

This place was quiet and perfectly maintained. Management is friendly and efficient. I wanted a place I could go for a staycation that had HBO and was convenient to public transportation. The PACE bus stops one block away and goes to the L in Evanston via Old Orchard, both of which have excellent movie theaters and restaurants. There is also an excellent Mariano's supermarket a block away. This is my new get-away home.

« Our stay in Morton Grove (Chicago) IL »

We arrived late at night after a 2 hour traffic jam and pouring rain. The room was ready and we were checked in within minutes. We got excellent directions the next morning, and had a great stay in Chicago .

« Great Place to Stay »

I stayed at the Morton Gove BW for a business trip. The hotel & room were very clean, everything was in good working order and the staff were courteous & helpful. The location was only a few miles from my business destination and also to a very nice shopping center. It was easy to find and entry/exit were quick. The breakfast was decent but not as extensive as other BW's I've seen. Breakfast seating was limited to only a few tables, as if an after thought to the layout. However when I made my reservation I was informed electronically that the lobby would be under construction during my stay. It was not but perhaps they are redesigning the layout to accommodate more breakfast seating. Overall this BW was a great place to stay and I rested well.

    « 3 rd rate motel »

Internet connection very tempormental logs you off unexpectedly. Cleaning staff tampering with my computer . No laundry will not stay here again avoid !!!!!! Not at all the quality you would expect for the price you pay

    « Friendly family hotel »

This was a great hotel for a family trip. The helpful and friendly staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy with our room. The continental breakfast which included a pancake maker was a big hit with my kids. There's also hot chocolate, tea, and coffee available 24 hours a day in the front lobby. Free parking and wifi.

    « Nice and affordable »

Overall everything was very good. Staff was nice. Close to Metra Train stop to downtown. Very good breakfast and great coffee machine. One negative: Beds were a little small and somewhat wore out however.

« the price was to high vs benefit I got. nice people and very helpful. »

the price was to high vs benefit I got. .there was mosquitos in the room. room face the street the service was good , nice people and very helpful. too much noise during the night. free breakfast. not too much restaurant close to the hotel

    « Good for a short stay »

The first night we got there we could not find a parking spot due to construction. We checked in and headed to our room to find the door propped open. It was accidentally left open by the maintenence man who was painting. The beds are definitely not queen size, but more like full size. With all of that noted, the staff was AMAZING and immediately addressed any concerns. The room was beautiful and newly updated. We had 2 adults and a child which works out well, but for any more people would be a tight fit. Will stay there again!

« Not a budget motel but looks like one »

The motel with its exterior entrances and spartan lobby was a letdown on first sight. The double room showed some attempt at sprucing up with new lighting and bath fixtures. However, the a/c unit was really noisy and we saw dust bunnies clinging to the ceiling, waiting to fall onto our face at night. Wifi and breakfast are included for the steep $129 per night rate; the breakfast featured eggs and a unique automatic pancake machine that made the world's toughest and chewiest pancakes.

« Under construction and much needed! »

The hotel is being renovated and there isn't enough parking space for all guests. We had to park in a lot next door and asked to move the car by 9:30am. Other parts of our stay have been bad as well. The gym is closed due to renovations and the area doesn't seem safe for outdoor jogging. On top of this, the bathroom floods when the shower is used

« Functional. Sparse. Clean. Wonderful Staff! »

Know what to expect: this is an older facility. Rooms are small and strictly utilitarian. Older, minimal furniture. Once you get past that, though. . . . The rooms are scrupulously clean. Carpet is newer. Excellent bed. And the staff seem genuinely proud of what they've done with the place and how they interact with, and treat their guests. Thanks to all of you at the BW Morton Grove!

« great inn, wonderful staff »

well to start off with the pros- the staff was exceptionally great and helpful and guided me with a lot of tips and tricks. breakfast was yummy. room was small but well equipped. very close to the metra station and bus stops that take u to downtown. (5min. walk) the housekeeping lady is very good at her job though i did not appreciate her folding my clothes and all but retrospectively i think she was just being sweet. cons- the room did not have basic toiletries like toothpaste but the manager was sweet enough to apologize and email me later only to let me know that they were available on request at the front desk! the area is a LITTLE bit isolated and boring. I had to stay there owing to a conference i was attending so i had no choice. But downtown is where all the action is.

    « Good stay on a budget. »

Stayed here for one night with my family before flying out of O'Hare in the morning. Got very good price comparing to the hotels at the airport. Rooms are the smallest I ever encountered but very clean. Absolutely everything in the room looked and smelled clean. We interacted with several different people at the front desk and everyone was friendly and helpful. Definitely a good place to stay if you are on a budget.

    « Average stay »

Nothing spectacular but handy and reasonably priced for a quick stopover. Strange to see a single queen bed in a room--should be a king and replace hard mattress. But if you're tired it'll do. No easy to walk food places nearby but can order pizza delivery. Rooms are all outside entry so if it's raining or cold remember you're in a cold city with outside steps.

    « An inexpensive surprise »

I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of this hotel. The hotel lobby was being remodeled and I was concerned about the rest of the hotel. Our room was updated, the bath rooms were updated though quaint, the frig, TV and internet worked very well. The breakfast was more than continental with a pancake maker, cereal, fruit, etc. The breakfast eating area was comfortable but quaint. Overall I was highly impressed with the quality of the room and the friendliness of the service especially since the hotel offered a very attractive nightly rate. The fitness room was being remodeled during our stay and was not available.

    « Weekend Stay »

My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was good and the coffee was excellent. The location is great. I will stay here again in the future.

« 6 night business stay: Great location not for the average tourist »

When checking in I recommend getting a room towards the back of the hotel, the front will not have any parking at night. The breakfast is average so if you are in a budget and willing to get up early then great for you! This was a decent hotel with an exceptional staff and great rooms. It is also not far from a Walgreen's if you forget to pack something which was great but be mindful that this is not a hotel for someone looking to be 15mins away from tourist sights. You are looking at a 35min drive towards downtown with light traffic and 1hr+ during rush hour. (I advise you to always take Lake Shore Dr if heading towards DT or Navy Pier it's always the best route!!!) So if you book plan accordingly! The city of Chicago is not necessary parking friendly when expecting heavy snow so this hotel was a life saver.

    « Review »

It's good experience. All the employees are very friendly and cooperative. I had very good experience staying here and it is close by to the train. Also have good cab facilities available. This really helped us in our travel and return. I thank the management for all the good experience, me and my family had with the hotel.

    « good »

had a pleasant stay. Nice sleep. had a pleasant stay. Nice sleep. had a pleasant stay. Nice sleep.good for family.this 200 words filing is very badplease reduce the charters for review.nice, good awesome

    « Weekend in Chicago »

The hotel is like an hour away from Navy Pier and few other attractions. The hotel room was a nice size and clean. No one was loud in the rooms next to us which was great. The breakfast was ok, was not a fan of the meat and eggs but the bagels and yogurt was fine. Next to the hotel there is a Popeye's and a breakfast restaurant as well as a gas station in a walkable distance. There is a $50 deposit fee before hand. The only problem we had was the tub didn't drain the water. Other than that we enjoyed our stay !

« Very polite, welcoming staff »

The young man who checked us in was very professional and welcoming. His positive attitude was wonderfully genuine. We felt welcomed and our business valued. The room was clean, but the pillows were half the size of standard pillows and the thin blanket provided was sandwiched between two top sheets on the bed. The internet connection was free and adequate. Coffee was hot and good and the breakfast good. If we are in the area, we will stay here again.

« Good value no frills »

A business stay. The room was fine - clean, presentable and in good repair. Comfortable bed, etc. with fridge and microwave. The lobby bkfast area also clean and presentable. The exterior is in need of some renovation - an older building. Good value.

« It was just ok. »

Staff was very nice and professional but the room itself was about what you expect from a place like this. Bit pricey. Our water was brown and dirty from some maintenance so couldn't use it until morning. Poorly maintained parking lot/sidewalks/steps. Extremely icy and not well-lit.

    « Clean and Affordable »

This Best Western is a nice , clean and affordable hotel. located not far from O'Hare. The staff was very friendly and helpful upon check in. The only issue I had was with the local television channels. The young man at the desk tried to assist however it appeared that it was a cable company issue and not the hotel.

« It was reasonable price, but there were some issues. »

I was looking for the inn with the reasonable price near by Chicago downtown. We had a car so we defiantly needed free parking space. Overall, this inn was okay and it was cheapest inn and we could go Chicago downtown in 20mins. But the electricity kept turned off when I was using hair drier and the front service person asked me to not use the hair drier. And when I was using microwave for 1.5min, the whole electricity turned off again, and the front service blamed something else. My sister was taking a shower when the whole light turned off, and we had to wait about 20mins until the light turned on and it was horrible. The water pressure was very low so it took me at least 40mins to take a shower. And don't put food or food trash (including a bottle of soda) in your room, because you will see a lot of ants and they will bit you. I only went there because it was the cheapest one, and people were not friendly.

« Friendly staff, sketchy hotel »

If you absolutely have to stay within Morton Grove City limits, this may be the place. But I'm not sure how it passed inspection to be a franchisee - the physical plant is so haphazard and badly designed you can't figure out why the bathroom is designed the way it is. Half the rooms (ours) open onto the archetypal dark alley, and we were definitely wishing for a door stop. The staff was nice, and the rooms were clean...but we won't be going back.

« Clean, comfortable, fantastic desk staff »

This property may be a bit "rough" on the outside, but inside, it is clean, updated, comfortable and relaxing. Bed and linens are fantastic; housekeeping is noticeably focused and detailed orientated. The desk staff--George in particular--is personable, friendly, efficient, and professional. Breakfast included great coffee, a juice machine that is not watered down, pancake maker, eggs, sausage/bacon, and a good selection of breads and muffins. Enough to carry anyone until lunchtime. The only downside was the roll-away bed which was not comfortable, but not hateful, either. We would stay here again when in the area.

    « Very friendly staff »

Very courteous, friendly and professional young man who checked us in; clean room and comfortable. Close to where we needed to be and well located; did not use the breakfast; price satisfactory for a large city

« Great experience to stay here, I would plan another visit for this spot. »

A+ customer service rom George and Nimit, because of the nothing was a problem. I think this location is of the charts. Small Train Station/Outpost so close, lots and lots of greenery in the area, Korean, Mexican, Chinese restaurants and more very close(Korean is right next door); there is a Walgreens on the same block I believe. The rooms seem old; but they are very well cleaned and the flat screen TVS are nice. 1 washer and 1 dryer open 24 hrs. Exercise room is very good and clean, open 24 hrs...Treadmill, Medicine Balls, Large Multi Functional Tower, not much for leg resistance training. Right down the street from an L.A. fitness... and there is a great community center in Niles a little further down the street featuring a gym, pool/indoor pool park, .spa, dry sauna, spinning, towel service, juice/sandwich bar, ext. There is also a bowling ally down the street, plus everything listed on the hotels website. I found the front desk to be extremely accommodating. I think they would help you out any way they possibly could.

    « HORRIBLE!!! »

What can I say of a property that I bailed out within 15 hours of checking in and cancelling the reminder of the stay. HORRIBLE every which way. Theres nothing positive to write about. The approach to 2nd floor rooms are cumbersome & dirty. The rooms itself was spartan with lousy mattress. The size was big but amenities bare minimum.

    « Cozy Motel - Great Location »

I have stayed here on several business trips to the area. The rates are very good and the rooms have everything you need and are very clean. The free breakfast isn't anything to brag about, but adequate. It is a short walk to the train station in Golf. There is a sports bar a short walk down the road that has great bar food and a large beer selection. And there are several other restaurants within a block of the motel.

    « Small »

This hotel is in a strip mall complex ! The rooms are small, no bed spread. Limited choices on breakfast ! I will not stay here again !! The room was small, they charge me a deposit fee because they are independent company. I will not stay here again !

    « Northwestern »

My daughter and I spent the night so we could visit Northwestern. The hotel was a great value and location for northwestern. Beds were comfortable, nice sheets and pillow. Room looked recently remodeled with new bathroom. The staff was very friendly and polite. Everything was very clean.

    « Weekend outing »

I had a great experience over the weekend staying at the BW in Morton Grove location. Sarah made the late evening check-in quick and smooth as I was tired and hungry from attending the Farm Aid Concert in Chicago all day/evening. She quickly pointed out a few drive thru fast food options as not many places were open close to midnight. I had an early check out the next morning since I was also in town to ride the North Shore Century bicycle tour out of Evanston. Sarah pointed out a quicker route to Evanston than what the GPS had suggested. Talk about excellent guest service. She went above and beyond expectation! Will definitely book again if I am in the area for weekend events.

    « Visiting family »

The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk, housekeeping and maintenance. The hotel is just old, with small rooms and small lobby/breakfast area. The rooms could use a little brightening with fresh paint and clean curtains. Everything in the room worked properly, bedding and towels were clean and fresh. Since we were mainly only in the room to sleep, it served our purpose well. Bed was very comfortable.

« Best Western at Morton Grove »

This hotel was the perfect location for us. We were in Illinois for a wedding and this hotel was right between Chicago and the place of the wedding. So we were perfectly situated to take the train into Chicago for touristing and the rental car for the wedding.Though not much to look out from the outside, the lobby is clean, bright, attractive and the desk staff friendly and helpful. The desk staff had a great deal of information and printed out maps for us. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable with no noise from the street. Since everything in Chicago is expensive, save some money and stay here!

    « Value »

Excellent value proposition; about $90 total for a quite-decent room in the North Shore area is a powerful argument. Room was furnished adequately and was well-maintained. Desk people were courteous and helpful.

    « Didn't write home about it!! »

I don't know why the area hotels are so expensive. We managed to find this place at a somewhat reasonable rate of about 105/night. This was supposed to be a discounted price. I got this from contacting the hotel directly. Websites were showing around 120/night. The place has gone through some good renovations. However, it still does not seem like a Best Western. Small buffet breakfast was alright.
