"Amazing service"
Lindsay W, 19 Avril 2024

Requested an hour early check in because we were driving from Nova Scotia, arrived at 9 am to ask if we can park our car for the day until check in and was given an available room right away. Can't express how amazing that was considering we drove all through the night and got to nap for a few hours before our event that night. Extremely grateful. Also the valet staff was great, very accommodating. Pizza ghetti at the restaurant was delicious. Will be coming back!

"Good location, great price, nice place!"
JamesSPC, 13 Avril 2024

This is one of the nicer hotels in the neighbourhood, very close to the airport bus route and the subway, giving you easy access to the rest of the city. Nestled in between the part of St. Denis that looks like old Paris and the newly redeveloped Place des Arts, you can't beat this hotel for its location or often enough its price!

"Easy and complete"
David M, 05 Avril 2024

Unlimited coffee in the lobby was a great touch. The front desk staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. This was our first time in Montreal and the location and price were hard to beat. I would reccomend this location to anyone. They made the stay as unintrusive as it gets . Felt like living in an apartment

"Value for money, good experience"
Natalya I, 01 Avril 2024

Overall very nice hotel with great personnel. Design was a bit old, but the room was big, as well as the bed size. Personally I didn't like the breakfast, it was from menu, only several options available. But there was free tasty coffee at the reception. The personnel was very nice and allowed us to leave our luggage in the locker free of charge for the whole day.

"Best services and people"
Landy Z, 28 Mars 2024

The staff of Best Western Plus hotel Montreal are fantastic. They helped me find my lost gold bracelet after I checked out and back to Sydney, Nova Scotia. It's my pleasure to stay with them and I will definitely stay with them again when I travel to Montreal all. Your services are awesome. I am appreciated what you did, see you next time!

"Nice stay in downtown Montreal!"
Rstorey1984, 10 Mars 2024

The service was kind, friendly and welcoming. At our time of check in we had no power in the hotel but they were able to give us our room and let us rest. The room had a strong smell of cleaner which I advised the front desk of. We opened a window and it was better. I did find unknown residue on the bedside lamp and wall. It wiped off so I'm not sure what it was but it was not pleasant. I found a long women's hair in my pillow too, but I know these happen in laundry and is a common occurrence. Overall it was a great hotel with a great location.

"Maintenance needed. Clean Hotel!"
Tammy B, 03 Mars 2024

Overall, the experience was great. The hotel was clean. The service was a 3. However, we asked for extra towels and a blanket and didn't get any. The shower light or fan didn't work. The shower and the toilet were leaking. The hotel was so hot temperature wise that we tried turning the heat off or down and couldn't. It was locked in. We opened a window that didn't open a whole lot, so it was a really sweaty experience.

"hotel was ok"
heather0019, 01 Février 2024

Room was fine, staff were helpful. Shower leaked loudly all night, elevator sounded really broken. Seating areas were ok, I didn't use them. The gym doesn't have much equipment (pictures of free weights, but no free weights). Treadmills were broken during my entire 5 night stay, which was frustrating. As advertised - it's a lower budget option.

"Excellent location."
AshleyK821, 23 Janvier 2024

Pretty good hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Great location, walking distance to Igloofest and lots of restaurants and shopping. Temperature regulation in shower was a bit inconsistent (way too hot then cold) and thermostat didn't react quickly to changes, but those are the only complaints. We stayed two nights in room 408 and will likely choose this hotel again next time we visit Montreal.

"Relaxing stay"
Journey22397958359, 11 Janvier 2024

Nice place to return to after a hard days work. The place is very quiet, with excellent service at the front desk. And 24 hours fresh brewed coffee in the lobby definitely is a big plus. And the valet service is also very convenient.

"Nice location, close to Quartier des Spectacles"
jenisadreamer, 04 Décembre 2023

The hotel was very nicely located, close to Quartier des Spectacles and near Place des Arts. The lobby and my room were dingy and needed maintenance, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean (the cleaning staff were lovely). There is coffee and tea and water in the lobby, which was convenient as there weren't enough coffee pods left in my room each day. The price was very good, and it was the nicest hotel in the neighbourhood (although not very nice for central Montreal). Staff were lovely,

"Good Location"
catOntario, 26 Novembre 2023

Stayed here for 3 nights. It was a short metro ride from train station and easy walking distance from metro station. Room large with king bed, street facing and surprisingly quiet. Short walk to shopping and restaurants, old town Montreal. Room had fridge, coffee maker, iron, hairdryer, desk and chair with outlets for computer, armchair with foot stool. Clean, bed comfortable. Large walk in shower There is a in room safe, unfortunately it is on the very top self in the closest and in NOT reachable for someone who is 5 feet, unless you stand on the foot stool which is not safe. This hotel needs to ensure the safe is reachable for all. Other issue in bathroom sink/counter is so high came to above my waist making it difficult to use; again you need to have things all can reach. There is free coffee, tea in main area 24hrs. If you want tea there is no milk they tell you to use coffee mate, seriously. Coffee mate is not for tea. If you are going to offer tea supply milk and don't tell me to bad go to restaurant and buy tea. There is a restaurant attached to hotel, food okay, nothing fancy does in a pinch. Fitness centre, basic. Would recommend and stay again

"Great place to stay "
Sharon60845, 03 Octobre 2023

We were greeted by Alyssa and she was very sweet and helpful. We were about 30 minutes early for check in so we were able to wait in lobby area. Our room was very nice. We enjoyed being in walking distance of Old Montreal and restaurants and breweries. We felt safe staying in this hotel.

"A great walking venture"
LightPacker432855, 21 Septembre 2023

A very good walking experience to visit Montreal. Close to the Desjardins complex and a lot of restaurants. Close to Mount Royal . We had a lot of homeless people in the area and a lot on drugs. The best western was very good and clean. The downtown city was clean and the waterfront was a nice walk. A lot of parks in the area. Weather was very good and central where we were

"Good motel"
khoule19, 20 Septembre 2023

Motel room and front desk were great and clean.great for the price we paid ...restraunt for breakfast was terrible. Definitely not worth the price and service wasn't great either. Only 5 choices and expensive.

"Awesome stay"
klee599, 14 Septembre 2023

For a quick trip for a concert, and great food....this was the best. 2 minutes walk from MTELUS, with 4 different restaurants in between! The art, food, history, even a college campus. Mtelus has a variety of shows....if adult shops and shows are your thing that's just an extra block away! Had a great stay...really like the area.

"Exactly what is needed"
katerynaf786, 08 Août 2023

Free unlimited coffee is a great treat. The hotel is exactly what you need for a short trip, perfect for leisure or business. Nothing more, nothing less. Quiet area with lots of Montreal attractions on the block.

"Overhall great experience - but could be better"
Steeven777, 08 Août 2023

Service is kind and nice at the front desk - parking is available with valet only, you need to call 10 minutes to get your call back and they are pretty effective - room looked clean but not sure it was deeply done as I found plastic balloon in the bed and some food wrapping between the sofa chair. So got a little work the sheet were not properly chance from the previous guess. Bathroom is great and clean, should have better soap. Gym is not convenient and be aware they have no dumbells and only one multi machine useable only for maybe 4 different exercise. And hope you're the only one using it. Gym room is small and but you can use the runner and bike. I must say location is great for the Place Des Arts and Gay Village, but the amount of homeless and mental health problems due to drugs is extreme in this particular area and can be scary when you go our of the hotel and want to walk to a more touristic area. Overhall I think this hotel is great, free coffee not really good at the reception and only got Decaf at the room, but if it's was a little cheaper that would make more sense to me.

"Great Hotel Choice in Downtown Montreal"
richardv916, 31 Juillet 2023

Well located hotel in the heart of Montreal, walking distance to Place des Arts, Old Montreal, etc. Easy and quick check in with valet parking at a reasonable $30.00. Rooms were clean and quiet, bed was comfortable and a selection of pillows were available. Perfect place to stay when attending a show or participating in one of the City's Festivals!

"Poor service quality"
Alenochka, 31 Juillet 2023

It's an awesome story I have, we booked our room several days in advance here, suddenly on the day of booking they tried to charge my card and it didn't work… I told them that we are driving from Toronto and should be in by 5 pm, upon arrival and we were less than 1 hrs late we find out that they canceled our booking.., but likely we got the room and paid for the full stay 6 days, and they charged us a parking extra… we went for dinner and suddenly reception manager came to the restaurant and told us that we have to move to different room!!! Because apparently once they canceled our booking they sold the room again!!!! And now best solution to move 5 of us 2 adults and 3 kids to the room with one bed!!! And all they can do, is 10% off lol. We rejected this generous offer! I will strongly suggest to check all the charges from this guys, we were treated poorly and double charged for parking

"Easily geting pisst off with a horrible service."
Jet77828, 24 Juin 2023

This is a horrible service and should not be included in your list of recomendatios. The customer service is the worse I have ever received and the hotel conditions are totally horrendous. I definetly not recomend that pllace to any one, if you want to have a but time, this is the place to have it, the breackfast is every single day the same, I bet the person in charge have never ever had breackfast there. The front desk personel have no idea about customer service or even a simple request like printing out the bill. In general, please get away from that disgusting place.

"Great front desk staff! A solid, reliable hotel"
265keiths, 22 Juin 2023

This is a good hotel! The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. It's in a sort of nondescript location near Chinatown but it's a short walk to the old port, which is my favorite part of Montreal. And it's a short walk to the St. Laurent metro stop. There's nothing particularly unique about the hotel; it's pretty much like the usual chain hotel. I thought it was very expensive but then so were all of the other Montreal hotels. It's just an expensive city.

"Good location on lively street"
Luc B, 04 Juin 2023

Surprised i have not rated this before. So this will be a mix of March and May stay. Booked vis BW for 133$C Govt rate for 2 nights. May 2023: Checked in around 11Am and room was ready. The 15 minutes parking in front of the hotel was full but managed to get pay parking closeby for 2$ to do unload. Room photos are for March 2023 on 4th floor (May 2023 was on 2nd floor). Room is super clean and modern, view facing back of hotel. Queen bed with Large LCD TV, clean bathroom, fridge, good wifi. TVs are Roku stick friendly. Used to offer breakfast a few years back but not anymore. The Da Giovani's next door is open early for breakfast. Did not use as I used the McDo closeby. Small gym available with newer equipment. Parking is very expesive at around 33$ a night . Location is great, close to St Denis and St Laurent. Will come back if price is good.

"Exploring Downtown Montreal"
davidlee893, 02 Juin 2023

Excellent Location for Shopping, Restaurants, and Events. The Staff was Pleasant and Accommodating. I spent Two Nights at the Downtown Montreal Property. The Room was a bit Warmer than expected. But was Corrected the Second Night

"Disappointing"
529lisax, 12 Avril 2023

Although the hotel itself was clean, the overall experience was disappointing. Had to move rooms because of a terrible smell of smoke and a non locking window in the King room I booked. I was downgraded to a smaller queen room that had a terrible sewage smell (from the bathtub possibly) and a very loud refrigerator (was very tempted to get up in the middle of the night to unplug it, but I could not access the cord!). Although the staff was pleasant, no one did anything to make up for the inconveniences.

"Close to everything!"
Diane O, 30 Janvier 2023

We had a lovely room on the 4th floor looking out to Steve's Music right across the street. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance with lots of shopping and restaurants and bars to choose from. The staff are friendly and helpful but the hotel could use a brochure rack and provide a better downtown map for first time visitors to the city. The valet parking was a fabulous bonus at $30 plus tax as it is underground and heated with in and out privileges. We felt it was excellent value for the money.

"Gross Hotel"
jalake2022, 19 Novembre 2022

Hotel was pretty gross, hairs all over bed, under sheets, under mattress protector, dirty, dusty rooms. Lobby smells like cigarettes, nail clippers sitting in front of coffee machines. Some of the staff seem annoyed to help. Expensive parking. Girls coming and going as this is in a red light district which we did not know

"Clean hotel"
633alirezaa, 13 Novembre 2022

A clean hotel with kind and helpful staff. The room was very clean. The breakfast was not varied, but it was very delicious. In general, it was a hotel that was not very luxurious, but it was very clean. I will go to this hotel again.

"Good value hotel in Old Montreal"
CalgaryWanderlust, 12 Octobre 2022

We are a family of three who stayed for 2 nights in late September. The room is comfortable and clean. Bathroom was also refurbished and clean. We didn't include breakfast in our booking so I cannot comment on that. Hotel has a very small foyer but why complain about foyer when at the end of the day, I can sleep and stay well in our room. Location is close to restaurants, Old Montreal, Chinatown, etc. Accessible to taxis and Uber.

"Great comfortable stay in the heart of Montreal"
GoPlaces307336, 23 Septembre 2022

Everything was as expected to the friendly front desk staff, clean room, comfortable bed and awesome location. You can walk to the old port, downtown and abundant shopping malls from the hotel. We didn't use our car so the $30/night fee seems expensive. All around great stay in an awesome city.

"Poor Maintenance and Unprofessional Staff."
Albernio69, 19 Septembre 2022

The rooms are OK and the location is great for visitors to Montreal, but it is in lack of maintenance. Heating not working or items not working. Most of the foreign staff don't speak good English or French and they are totally incompetent for front desk work with very few exceptions. Really overpriced for the what you are paying for.

"Best western premier with null service !!!"
Philip F, 16 Septembre 2022

Cleaning of the room : every 3 days, even if you ask to make your bed, they don't Coffee machine on the room but no coffee capsules available in the hotel Far away from city center (metro at 700m) + stopover req'd Vert unfriendly staff (except reception). The cleaning lady started even shouting at me. This is NOT worth the Best Western quality we are used to receive. SHAME on this hotel.

"Decent hotel in a very noisy area ( Montreal red light district)"
Grom555, 13 Septembre 2022

The hotel located in a red light district. Very noisy and crowded area, especially in the afternoon/night hours. A lot of clubs/bars around. A lot of wierd/drunk people all over the street, trying to ask money/food. The hotel doors are locked after 11pm, I guess to prevent all those people from the street to enter the hotel. Not recommended for families with kids. The breakfast is not provided by the hotel, rather by a nearby restaurant. The room was decent and clean.

"Welcoming staff & comfortable room"
Sightseer11058404508, 12 Septembre 2022

The front desk staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful. The room was nice and as expected from photos, king bed was very comfortable, front entrance area was clean and had a water bottle refill station. Only downsides were the towels were a bit stained and ragged (old) seeming, as well as onsite parking was full so we had to find offsite parking when we arrived at night.

"Holiday on Montreal"
435przemys_awg, 24 Août 2022

Best Best Western Plus Hotel I was. Big rooms, free coffe. Excellent localisation near Old Town. Love the King size bed. In Montreal there are always smthg to do. Every two days concert near Place deArts.

"Hotel in the Middle Of EVERYTHING"
dnebblett, 07 Août 2022

Location is ideal for guests. Persons will take comfort to enjoy walking distance to restaurants, metros, liming spots, Chinatown, etc. Great customer service and empathic to the needs of its customers.

"A great experience"
kimberleyf645, 05 Août 2022

From check in to checkout everything went smoothly. Front desk staff were professional, the hotel lobby was clean, the room was cool and smelled fresh. Free freshly ground coffee in the lobby was an added bonus. We would stay here again and would recommend it.

"A challenging event but a well pointed hotel."
claire c, 01 Août 2022

The hotel in downtown montreal for me was well suited with respect to my visit's objective. The view from my window was quiet interesting, a clump of greenery in downtown. A soothing atmosphere and ambience that assisted in calming one's nerves.

"Very dirty, stay somewhere else"
AL41959, 27 Juillet 2022

My husband and I checked into this hotel room 310 on July 21 and planned to stay overnight and maybe an extra night. Upon opening the door the room it smelled good and looked neat and attractive. Later that night, I noticed a long dark hair on the floor( I'm a blond). When I wiped it up with some toilet paper, I saw just how filthy the bathroom floor was. It's a dark floor so the dirt is not easily seen. It obviously had not been cleaned in a long time. After that, my husband and I were disgusted. This floor was definitely not sanitized and cleaned like the advertisement states. Needless to say, my husband and I had an uncomfortable night and decided not to stay an additional night. Additionally, when we were waiting for our car we noticed how filthy the lobby was. There were fingerprints and smudges on the fireplace. The furniture had beverage stains on it. The fabric on the chairs needed cleaning and the entry windows were very cloudy and stained. Don't stay here until they can prove they've cleaned up their hotel.

"Great hotel, great location!"
Netbam, 25 Juillet 2022

This hotel.exceeded my expectations. We are at the center of everything & walking distance to most popular attractions & public transpo, even the bus that takes you to & from airport. Love this hotel!

"Great stay and location"
Jpich35, 04 Juillet 2022

Quick check-in, clean room, bathroom, good wifi service. Solid location to visit the mall and festivals (late June/ early July). Walking distance to grocery store, restaurant, bars and night life strip. Will stay here again.

"Delivers as expected"
Ray C, 01 Juillet 2022

Sky high prices in Montreal make this a relative bargain. Clean spacious room, convenient location make it a no brained. The location is a double edged sword as it's great for walking & getting around but a bear for driving. If you stay here, sign up for valet parking as street parking is non existent, with rules that change by the hour & cars frequently towed. The hotel itself currently doesn't offer breakfast but has an arrangement with the restaurant next door where you get free breakfast by mentioning your room number. From this location you can walk to any destination in Montreal

"Start of five week holiday"
cr159, 20 Juin 2022

Start of five week holiday. Rooms clean when we eventually managed to get in, Covid has certainly made life difficult for hotels but we did feel here they really were not interestedly, shame but will probably avoid next time.

"Incredibly comfortable stay"
Julie M, 16 Juin 2022

This hotel had all we needed for a very comfortable stay. Quiet room, comfortable bed, coffee/tea, cheerful staff. The immediate area is not the best, but the pho restaurant next door was. The metro is about two blocks away, and Chinatown and Old Montreal were an easy walk for us. I would stay here again.

"Great location, walking distance"
Alice L, 03 Juin 2022

We did not have a vehicle and found the hotel's location very convenient to Old Montreal and St. Denis -- which has many choices for restaurants. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet -- check-in quick and easy as was check out.

"Comfortable stay "
IheartEurope2018, 02 Juin 2022

I stayed 2 nights in a king room, I booked last minute following having to leave my previous accommodation early as it was inadequate. The room suited my needs, it was clean, bed was comfortable, fast wifi, good location walkable to all the main sites with cheap eats and a supermarket a block away. The was free water and hot drinks 24hrs in the reception area. The 747 bus to the airport is less than a 3 min walk. The hotel was quiet. I would stay here again.

"Great place without breaking your budget"
LifeIsAGift28, 21 Mai 2022

The room looked recently renovated. Everything is clean and in good order. Fridge, coffee maker (Keurig), are standard. And the dual function cool/heat unit looks new and is quiet. The large shower stall instead of the bathtub is preferable. The power outlet and USB port at the base of the lights on both side of the bed are really handy. One problem, the shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion are in cute small bottles, they are a bit difficult to get the contents out. Location is very strategic, a short distance from the closed off part of St. Catherine Street, where all the actions are. Would recommend to others to stay here.

"Bad taste"
rafa_itu, 17 Mai 2022

Everything was perfect but they gave me the wrong price... I pay the first day and until I was leaving they told me I had a extra pay to make because they had a mistake.... they dont give me options or discounts....

"Awesome hotel!"
Zirkkk1142, 11 Mai 2022

The hotel is very clean, the rooms are beautiful. The Staff is very courteous and friendly. The location is amazing. Getting around : St-Laurent Metro is 5 minutes walk, which is perfect. So access to the rest of the city is easy as can be. Its now one of my favorite hotels in Montreal.

"Great location, great price and great staff!"
tanasofia, 04 Mai 2022

The hotel was really good. Staff was super friendly and made checking in and out super easy. Room was spacious and relatively clean. Location was amazing, great restaurants nearby and a 5 min walk to the metro. Would definitely recommend!!

"It's a great value"
Tlmn44, 24 Avril 2022

Not sure why they have 4 stars but it didn't feel like a 4 star hotel. But overall great place to stay for a night or if you're on a budget. Great location clean rooms and cheap. The rooms were decent sized coffee machine in the lobby

"pleasant stay"
nessjmedeiros, 01 Avril 2022

clean rooms, friendly and kind staff, nice view of the city from my room, super convenient location. my only gripe is that breakfast doesn't come free for everyone staying at the hotel; the woman at the front desk pointed me to the door where they serve breakfast, and i thought it was like other hotels where everyone staying gets a cheap meal. bummer, i would've been happy with a coffee and a granola bar, honestly. also, it was a little hard to hear the employees at the front desk (i'm 22 and have good hearing). other than that, i had a great stay.

"Always convenient and efficient"
Jean L, 15 Janvier 2022

Very good hotel well located and very functional - quick check in , clean room and public space, very good internet. Very efficient bathroom (hot water s good - pressure could be a little better) Heating and air conditioning is difficult to control at times

"Best Western Plus is a terrible place to stay"
sohailt2022, 06 Janvier 2022

I had a chance to stay with my family , it was a terrible experience, Rooms are not properly sanitize , Bed sheet are not properly cleaned and i see blood spots on my sheets and when i asked them to get it replace, that said due to Covid we can ask anyone to go into your room. My Kids wanted to reheat the left over food/drinks and there were no microwave in the room. Washrooms are not sanitized and looks like someone used before i rented the rooms. i would never go again for this.

"Perfect Visit at this Centrally Located Hotel"
Kolasa03148, 27 Novembre 2021

Just spent two nights at this lovely hotel and really enjoyed it. Front desk staff were the best...even allowed us early access to our room after flying all night to get to Montreal. Room was absolutely spotless and had the most comfortable bed and pillows. We slept exceptionally well. Free coffee/tea in the lobby. Restaurant attached but we never used it. Hotel is centrally located and easy 15-min walk to major sights and attractions. This hotel is definitely a winner!

"Hygiene to improve, average service"
krustyburger666, 22 Novembre 2021

I had a good sleep in a bed that was comfortable, in a spacious room, well sound proofed. The staff was kind and helpful, the location central to visit. With that said, I found a plastic wrapper in one of the drawers, and a used Keurig pod in the coffee machine (which itself has visibly not been cleaned in a long time) - how gross! It makes me think that cleaning is done in a very superficial manner (confirmed by the dirty mini fridge, dust in the cupboard...). While I understand that the pandemic is putting a strain on the hospitality industry, I would have expected better options. Breakfast is served for a fee from the adjacent restaurant, which provides no vegetal milk (great for intolerant people like myself) or margarine, no vegan options whatsoever, no fruit salad... Not the idea of what you'd expect to start the day on a good note, especially given how smug the waitress was. Thankfully, the auditor kindly directed me toward a nearby place that offers breakfast options, but I was bummed to have to leave the hotel just to grab a bite. I am leaving this hotel underwhelmed.

"Good location, nice and clean"
Sunshine54538641332, 13 Novembre 2021

Decent room with free wifi at a fraction of the price of other hotels in the same area. The only issue was that there was a gas chimney below our window that made the room smell like gas briefly when it turned on. I don't think that was throughout the hotel, we were just unlucky this time.

"Love City Centre Hotel!"
harust1958, 01 Novembre 2021

We had a get away to Montreal to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Our travel agent arranged for us to stay at The BW on Rue St Catherine. It was a quaint unassuming hotel right along a popular street. We loved it.

"Great location and a good service"
Adam A, 27 Octobre 2021

In room it was clean. Location close to old town, metro nearby. Coffee and tea available at lobby. The minus is that there no parking inside, you need to give keys to driver. A lot of bars/restaurants nearby

"Overall good experience"
chenxiu0306, 25 Octobre 2021

The front desk lady was not able to understand "tissue" in English, i was having trouble to get my tissue box refilled... Other than that, good experience, the service was good and room was clean and tidy. I love the coffee machine in lobby

"Decent hotel"
Mmonkie, 19 Octobre 2021

Newish and quite decent. Located in an area that's getting gentrified. Walking distance to Chinatown and the port areas. Rooms were clean and they had water and coffee services (machines) in the lobby. If you have a room at the front of the hotel it can get quite noisy with the street and the "foufounes" practically next door. I suggest a room in the back. A nice stay with friendly staff.

"Many better and reasonable hotels close by"

Maids do not speak english. Room very small no tubs. On a busy street with construction all around you. BW offers a free breakfast then takes it away from you. Help incredibly hard to come by. Front desk only pics up the phone in their convenience. In other words friends and family are going to have a very difficult time reaching you in this hotel.

"Good Location"
Wander588156, 13 Octobre 2021

Hotel is good location for seeing Montreal. Has no service available, no breakfast or room service of any kind. As we are well into our second year of Covid, other hotels have figured out the service. This location just seemed to blame Covid for everything. As a service dependent company, they need to do a better job to solve these short comings.

"No Customer Service -"
Coastal27014329673, 20 Septembre 2021

As another review stated, the Valets will change your settings. I was travelling alone and when I left, my Navigation was not working and I took over an hour trying to navigate the highways and ramps, and not get into an accident. I called to inform the manager RICKY that this was a safety issue and he was combative and extremely unprofessional. He basically called me a liar. Nice.

"Good value"
MyZoneHotels, 19 Septembre 2021

The Best Western Plus Hotel Montreal is located east of downtown Montreal, in the Quartier des Spectacles district (Festival District). The hotel is near the Red-Light district. The neighborhood is not very interesting, populated by a lot of homeless installed in the street, in front of the hotel, who are very loud and who shout at the hotel guests. I made my reservation for two nights at 80$ per night, in low season during the Covid, directly on the Best Western web site. This rate is very affordable for a downtown establishment. The property This hotel is not very large and has five floors. The hall includes a small sitting area where a coffee machine is available. A restaurant is located next door to the hotel but, during my stay, it was not open (Covid?). There is a breakfast room and a small exercise room, both closed because of Covid related restrictions. This property looks like a fairly new construction. There is no parking directly accessible to the hotel clients. A valet service is available. This service is quick and I had to wait a maximum of five minutes each time I wanted to get my car back. The parking cost is not included in the room rate and is 25$ per day. The corridor in the room floor is dark, configured in a loop. The room My room is small, clean, with a carpet and fairly well equipped. There is not really much space to walk around. A coffee machine for Keurig capsule is available. There is also an iron, with its ironing board, disinfectant products, a small fridge and a small safe. There is no microwave. The room is well furnished, with a work desk and a comfortable chair on casters, an armchair and foot rest. The furniture is in good shape, with no major wear signs. There is a small window, which doesn't provide much light, giving a view to the building across the street. Even if the room is located on the third floor, I can clearly hear the noises from the street, for example the homeless people yelling at each other and shouting. There is no way to connect a mobile device or a computer to the television. The air conditioning system is efficient and quiet. The bed is comfortable. The bath room The bath room is spacious, with available storage room. There is a shower and no bath. The shower only has a hand shower head which makes it complicated to control the shower spray. The area around the sink is sufficient. Services There is a breakfast included with the room fare. There is not much choice and the taste is middling. Because of sanitary constraints, imposed by Covid, it is not possible to have the meal in the breakfast room. A bag is provided to bring the breakfast to the room. The staff is helpful but cold and not very friendly. Wireless internet access (Wi-Fi) is free and excellent. The devil is in the details: - No lampshade on the bathroom ceiling light.

"NICE HOTEL......"
lunalove88, 17 Septembre 2021

but the valet not only changed all the seat settings and did not return to the originals but they also SMOKED IN MY CAR ...................................................... not appropriate. and it was so noisy with music blasting all afternoon and night that I barely slept/.

"Well located"
Kathleen H, 10 Septembre 2021

This Hotel is in easy reach of old Montreal, old port, metro etc. Our 4 night visit enabled us to really explore the city. The Hotel is clean Covid rules strictly followed. Breakfast was generous grab and go due to covid. All staff friendly and helpful.Rooms are not entered by cleaning staff unless requested. We had a king size sound proofed room.We had rboojed a queen but were upgraded. Will definately visit again and can certainly recommend it. We did not use parking as we travelled by train.

"Great centrally located hotel"
Sheldon C, 12 Août 2021

Originally booked an Airbnb but cancelled when we saw the accommodation. We had to find new place to stay and came across the Best Western. Initially booked 2 nights but we were so pleased with the room and hotel that we extended it for another 3. Bed was so comfy that it was difficult to get going in the morning. Noon check out was an added bonus.Highly recommend!

"Highly recommend"
uche23, 09 Août 2021

Great location, excellent service, clean, thoughtfully decorated rooms, convenient valet parking. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff were very helpful. The decor is modern and functional. The room and bathroom were very clean with high quality sheets and towels. I particularly loved the convenient placement of electric outlets around the room including on each side of the head board.

"Excellent location"
resan532, 21 Juillet 2021

It is in perfect location at old Montreal, the service at reception and the breakfast room was excellent, with All the Covid-19 restrictions , they had great hot and cold breakfast and beverages , highly recommended

"Clean and Welcoming"

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel was clean and quiet. Not much amenities due to covid, but they did have a well put together grab and go breakfast. Very central downtown location. Room had essentials.

"Amazing Hotel Team"
food1333, 28 Février 2021

Fast, Friendly, Personable and Professional Check-In!! Team Members (Rafiq-Front Desk / Valet (Day Shift) were extremely accommodating and welcoming. This property takes Covid-19 protocols seriously and are very efficient. The hotel is spotless and my room was also very clean. The front of the hotel is dealing with the city waterworks construction which is creating an issue with hotel guests arriving to check in because the city has No Parking signage everywhere. I have to mention though that the Front Desk allowed me to park my vehicle immediately so I didn't get a ticket. There is Valet but I passed on this as I had a ton of unpacking to do from my vehicle in the underground parking garage. The onsite parking garage is very limited though and a bit tight to manoeuvre. If you looking for downtown accommodations and impeccable service...this is your place!!! The price is also very reasonable and competitive. Thank you to the entire Best Western Plaza Hotel Team...you should be very proud of yourselves!!! Room 511 WR

"Clean, helpful staff, great location"
naomibblock, 18 Février 2021

The room was spotless, and had all the necessary amenities. Masks were required in public areas and staff we're always cleaning and being safe. The lady at the front desk, Andrea, was super helpful and kind! Great location, lots of restaurants and shops nearby. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

"Great Location"
Sarina S, 07 Décembre 2020

Great location. Rooms were nice and a decent size. 2 stars lost for the front desk lady named "Sabina". Beyond rude, very hostile, not sure why she's in a customer service role? I was quoted $58 including tax for check out at 5PM, however Sabina insisted that a full nights rate would apply, even though there was a note on my file. The manager agreed that it would be $58. Would I be back? No, there is more pleasant places to stay.

"Best Hotel Weekend!"
MadeInMontreal12345, 25 Novembre 2020

As soon as I entered the building, I felt embraced by their welcoming staff members. Meighan at the front desk was super helpful. As I'm not familiar with restaurants in the area, Meighan was very knowledgeable of the options available and I was quick to choose one of her suggestions. My room was very clean. I'm comforted knowing they follow strict COVID guidelines which reassures me as a customer. Outside my window, I had a nice exterior view of Saint-Catherine Street as well as the interior view of the room was quite pleasant and filled with ambiance. I couldn't ask for better service and I can't wait for my next trip to Montreal, I know exactly where I'm staying.

"This Best Western IS the best!"
MRMTL, 20 Novembre 2020

I have been staying at this hotel long term for 26 nights now...with another six, at least, to go. This hotel is amazing for many reasons and I will list them all. But first and foremost, I believe that a good staff is critically important in the hospitality industry and, when someone goes out of their way to make your life easier, that should be noted. While every single person here has been delightful, one person in particular, Meighan, always goes out of her way to help. She took it upon herself to get me a great long term rate which was incredibly thoughtful. Also, she not only accommodates but anticipates, everything I need to have a comfortable stay and a wonderful day. Thank you for everything, Meighan! Now the other great things about this hotel: Location is unbeatable, three minute walk to St. Laurent. Berri UQAM metro is about a five minute or less walk and the biggest metro station hub in the city. Location on St. Catherine street, near many restaurants, a grocery store and other essentials is awesome. Basically, the hotel is central to everything you'd want in downtown. This hotel is also so quiet. I've never heard a noise from either room next door and that is such a rare find. I must emphasize how much I hate noise and this hotel has none! They also give free hot drinks in the lobby 24/7 and the hot chocolate is amazing. This Best Western is also sparkling clean. I've never had to worry or question anything about cleanliness during the pandemic. The TV has a great channel selection. The internet is surprisingly fast. I could go on forever but 26 nights and no complaints sums it up nicely. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting, for any purpose without any hesitation.

"valuable stay with the price"
michaelchuang2020, 07 Novembre 2020

Location and price to stay in this hotel are just wonderful. All my destinations are walking distance. It is clean, especially in Covid-19 time. Friendly hotel staff, free coffee at reception area... I would select this hotel again next time.

"value for money"
NV W, 01 Novembre 2020

pros: - very spacious room + bathroom - comfortable bed - fast internet - USB ports to charge your devices - hand sanitizer & alcohol based wipes available in the room - short walking distance to metro (public transportation) & other places of interest (ie: chinatown) cons - construction is going on just outside the hotel. could hear jackhammering noises - noticed a number of homeless people in the immediate area & was even approached by a few. this is definitely more prevalent in this area, vs other areas downtown

"Won't refund deposit money"
pritpalbrar2000, 26 Septembre 2020

I had great time at hotel however in last they didn't refund my deposit money. On checkout they said they will do full refund however after 5 days when I contacted they refused and said need to talk to manager as they are confused if I did smoke. I don't smoke and never did in my life. I told staff member it is unethical. As a next step I will be filling formal complain about hotel.

"Disaster"
H8342YKtracys, 18 Juillet 2020

We arrived slightly earlier than 3pm check in. They were no where ready for us, so we waited for the room to be cleaned. We deposited our luggage along with two bottles of wine in the fridge. When we returned from our time out the key card didn't work, only to find they removed our things and gave our room away. They left our belongings at the front desk. When I questioned them about my wine they said "ohh well didn't check the fridge " New room smelled like smoke! We left got our money back for room. Hope the people who got our room enjoyed our wine!!!

"Great location, clean room, overall okay"
hauptstadtmaedel, 14 Mars 2020

Room was clean and nice. Location was east of downtown, walking distance to all important attractions Service was okay, but not impressive. Check in staff couldn't help with breakfast and wasn't confident in speaking English

"Amazing stay!"
galmeida32, 07 Mars 2020

Staying at this hotel was a great experience! The staff was very helpful at the front desk, and check in/out was extremely quick! The room was great and clean! Would definitely want to stay here again!

"Very impressed"
ErikaD2058, 13 Janvier 2020

I guess in reviewing hotels on-line for my upcoming stay in Montreal, I have to say I am amazed at this hotels low rating. Being located in the heart of Montreal, and with such a great nightly rate, I could not give a rating below a five. From the moment I registered, the staff and front desk were helpful and eager to help. For anyone wanting to visit Mo freak and stay in the heart, this hotel is highly recommended.

"Location is great hotel is good"
B M, 05 Janvier 2020

I visited Montreal and wanted to be downtown the hotel was located just east of downtown but not a bad walk anywhere and I visited in January and walked to rue denis bars Old Montreal and the Eaton centre area all on foot no issue . Small lobby right off the street Sainte Catherine. Free coffee but no breakfast. Valet parking only option 25 a night plus tax so my 2 nights 57 dollars was a bit much but didn't have other options with luggage etc. Anyway elevator really slow was kind of annoying. Hotel clean smaller hotel . Our room wasn't big but more than comfortable for the 2 of us bed comfortable with a desk tv and lounge chair bathroom clean and glass shower king bed overall a good stay 7/10 . Parking was exspensive but overall good stay.

"Better than I expected!"
potatoismywife, 17 Décembre 2019

I booked this hotel because of the price and the location. Upon arrival, I was pretty surprised as it was above my expectation. The check-in counter lady was super friendly, the room was bigger than I thought and clean as well. It's located between St Laurent and Berri Metro (closer to St. Laurent) and there's plenty of food around the premises. Would definitely recommend to stay here!

"Reasonable"
David N, 14 Décembre 2019

Very nice and quiet, great location.service was of high quality . And it was very very clean.. beds were very well made. The view from my room was gorgeous and close to Montreal's red light district as well 1.8 km from the bell center!

"Nice hotel"
Dreamer42551327172, 08 Décembre 2019

It is a nice hotel! Very clean and very nice staff also but don't be fooled by the website, because the breakfast is NOT include... and we were on the 2e floor and could heard everything going on in the street. Overall the hotel is good but good

"Best Western plus Montreal"
christensenolly, 08 Décembre 2019

Location is excellent. Old Montreal is in walking distance. However, if you arrive with a vehicle to this hotel be prepared to pay an extra 25$ a night for valet as this is the only parking option. Overall I lijed the staff, cleanliness and the lounge Kitchen73. The reason I give the hotel a 3 is due to the demolishing of the building next door and their own renovations on the front of hotel which all began at 630am. The hotel is well aware of the renovations and demolishing of building next door but put us in a room facing the street. On any other given week, I am sure it would be a pleasant stay.

"Comfy and Close"
John I, 29 Novembre 2019

We stayed here overnight after attending theatre at Place des Arts. Clean, comfortable room. Pleasant helpful staff. Within short walking distance to restaurant and Place des Arts. Valet parking a nice touch.

"Near the action"
Jojo0014, 18 Novembre 2019

Nice clean hotel downtown, walking distance to shopping , so many restaurants, bar, theater, comedy club, subway etc Breakfast not included but the food at the restaurant attached was very good. You must use the Valet parking unless you want to walk quite a distance and you may end up paying just as much for downtown parking.

"Great Hotel"
tweint22, 03 Novembre 2019

Really nice hotel. Excellent location and very clean. The rooms are very spacious. Walking distance to everything. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again for sure.

"Always a Great Stay at Best Western"
KDN65, 01 Novembre 2019

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Plus at 161 rue St. Catherine in Montreal October 25-26, 2019. This was our second visit to a Best Western and we would stay there again. It was very clean, our room was spacious, and staff were friendly and helpful. The view from our room wasn't great because our view was of the outside of three other rooms (like we were in a square), which meant we always needed a light on. But for the amount of time we spent there, it didn't matter. We didn't use the restaurant or fitness facility, so I cannot comment. For shoppers, to give some perspective, we were about a 25 minute walk to Simons on rue St. Catherine.

"Great hotel for a couple of nights."
colleenn764, 27 Octobre 2019

Spent 2 nights here before a cruise in September 2019. Very friendly and efficient staff. The included breakfast was really incredible, a full menu to order from with more than a dozen choices in a full service restaurant. Unfortunately our only full day in Montreal was on the day of the large climate protest so we were not able to do the tour we planned, glad the hotel was such a nice place to be!

"Great location and hotel"
jimmM6478KW, 26 Octobre 2019

This is a good, modern hotel in or near the Latin Quarter. It is about 15 or 20 minute walking distance to Port, Old Town and the Notre Dame Cathedral. The staff was very helpful, the on-site restaurant and bar was fine and the valet parking good.

"Good place to stay"
RichardJenkins, 23 Octobre 2019

The Best Western Plus Hotel Montreal is a reasonably priced option in a good location. The room featured a fridge, HD TV, safe and free Wi-Fi. The complimentary breakfast is selected from a set menu – there's plenty of choice and the food was excellent.

"Great Location"
esorflow, 13 Octobre 2019

Well located downtown hotel, walking distance to shopping, a variety of restaurants, historic sites and China Town. Nicely renovated, clean, quiet and adequately appointed rooms. Good restaurant attached to hotel. A tiny bit pricey, but would definitely stay at this hotel again.

"Good location"
markwygers, 07 Octobre 2019

This hotel has an excellent location to walk to the hotspots of the city. Rooms at the street side are noisy at nighttime. Good valet service. The rooms are spacious and well equiped. Breakfast is just next door.

"Comfortable"
TerryD996, 01 Octobre 2019

Our first visit to Montreal and we made a good choice of location. We found it very convenient to walk or use the nearby Metro to get everywhere we wanted to go. The only negative was that on checking in I asked for a high up room away from as much traffic noise as possible as I am a light sleeper. We were allocated a room on the second floor. On arrival at our room we did not even enter as it was located immediately next to the elevator. I knew that would be a definite problem for me and we went immediately back to reception. We were then allocated a room on the fifth floor - away from the elevators and this was perfect - facing away from the front of the building and any traffic noise. The room was of a good size, very well cleaned and had a good sized bathroom. The rest of our stay passed without incident although we had breakfast at the K73 restaurant next door and on our final morning we were kept waiting over a half hour after ordering and this was for muesli , yoghurt and fruit which required no cooking! All praise for the hotel staff who were very obliging throughout most especially on our last day when our pre booked taxi failed to arrive and the reception staff conjured one up almost immediately.

"Excellent location and Service"
n2019bos, 01 Octobre 2019

This hotel is in very good location in Montreal. Walking distance from all downtown attractions. The service was great, room nice and clean. This hotel didn't offer complimentary breakfast, but it was easy to find something in the restaurant next door.

"Decent property; poor service"
28WCC, 29 Septembre 2019

Visited in mid September. Great location. Central and easy to get around. Nearest metro station is a few minutes walking distance. Property is modest but I can tell some upgrades have been made. Beds are comfortable. Air conditioner works nicely and not noisy at all. I would have given a 4 or 5 star rating however I need to mention the poor service of the front desk staff. Upon arrival and check in, the front desk person looked in the computer system and told us there was a mistake. He gave our room to another guest earlier by mistake, stating “he has the same last name as you”. Well, people have first names, don't they? Aren't you supposed to verify the full name? He had to give us the other room but there was only one bed in that room. I booked a room with 2 queen beds. So they brought a folding bed to the room and set it up aside. As a result, the bathroom door could be opened only half way. Luckily we stayed for only one night. We waited for a good 40 minutes at check in while the front desk person was searching and doing whatever in the system. It was late night and we were exhausted during the long wait. He looked at me and said “well, mistakes do happen”. Oh haha. I said the him “ok, can you just finish it as quickly as you can, it's so late, we are exhausted, please just get it done so we can go into the room and have a rest.” What this person was missing is he needed to put himself in his customers' shoes. He made a mistake and he probably felt embarrassed thus the defensive reaction. In that situation his priority should not be defending himself but focusing on how not to add to the discomfort of customers.

"Great Location, Value & Service!"
Steviegate, 22 Septembre 2019

Spent a couple of days in Montreal last week and my friend chose this particular Best Western Plus for us to stay at. We were early arrivals so our rooms weren't ready, but the incredibly friendly and helpful desk clerk (who later checked us in), was more than happy to hold onto our bags while we had a little walk around. When we returned a few hours later, he checked us into our rooms, and I was extremely pleased. My room was VERY clean, spacious and even had a refrigerator and high-end coffee maker. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom huge and, again, spotless with an array of toiletries. There is water, soda and snacks for sale in the lobby as well as free coffee and teas, and we ate our dinners and breakfasts at Kitchen 73 right next door to the hotel (separate review coming - ALL GOOD). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would happily stay there again in the future.

"Leisure at its best"
Harper B, 22 Septembre 2019

My wife and i spent two days in Montreal. The Best Western located on St. Catherine East provided excellent hospitality and superb service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will use this same hotel again should we visit Montreal. The room was exceptionally clean. The Concierge provided great service in parking our vehicle.

"Downtown Montreal hotel"
Gary G, 21 Septembre 2019

Perfect location! This was our third stay at this BW Plus. You can walk to all the sites easily from this Saint Catherine St hotel. The breakfast was very good and the staff are very welcoming. The rate was quite reasonable for a June stay in the downtown. Will definitely return.

"Nice room"
melissaufo, 21 Septembre 2019

Room was clean Comfortable and I liked the hotel. Area maybe not so great I would recommend getting away from st Catherine street and heading to old Montréal it's much cleaner. Also china town is dirty and full of homeless people begging

"Small and mostly good"
Reisende935, 18 Septembre 2019

A bit hard to find. It is so modest. But the rooms are nice and modern. To me, two problems. If you put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door, they do indeed leave you alone. But they also skip the cleaning. They don't come back if you stop them this way. And the shower is a story of its own - very little water, and what I don't like: A shower stuck to the wall, high up. Can't be moved, not easy if you have kids. But if you like that and like to get wet when switching on the water (there is no way to avoid that): Off you go!

"Great location in Montreal"
nickypont50, 13 Septembre 2019

We stayed here for three nights at the start of our holiday in Canada. This is a great location from which to walk to various places of interest including the Notre Dame Basilica and old Montreal. The hotel is clean and comfortable and with breakfast included was certainly a good deal for us. A taxi from the airport is $41 Can and takes 20 to 30 mins. The only negative points for us were as follows. Despite all the different lamps in the room, bedside, desk etc, the room was dark and felt like a cave. There also seems to be little concern for green issues. Every day we left towels on the rails as advised and every day they were replaced (were only supposed to be replaced if left on the floor). Cups are cardboard for in room coffee but all are wrapped individually in plastic! But otherwise a pleasant and comfortable stay.

"Good stay"
TravelDream10, 12 Septembre 2019

The hotel is well-located, we walked to a lot of places and staff was helpful. The free breakfast is not that good, but it's ok for a free breakfast. The shower was bad, water pressure was weak and the shower head had a very wide flow. Bed was comfortable.

"Reasonable hotel in costly montreal"
mrl325, 10 Septembre 2019

Tea/Coffeemaker, fridge, iron and ironing board, safe, toiletries. Hair dryer.Room good size, large bthrm and shower area. Daily housekeeping. Charging points near bed. Good location. Cd walk to old town and downtown easily. Metro stations, shops, restaurants and supermkts closeby. Airport bus 747 stops at beri uquam station which is a 5 min walk on the hotel street- st catherine. There is a free tea/coffee vending machine in lobby 24/7. There is also a small stall for buying water, soft drinks, chocs, wafers etc. Hotel has a spacious lift. Our room 401 was good size. Though it was right next to the lift, we dint hear any noise. Staff was amazing- both at reception and the restaurant. Always smiling and very helpful. I want to thank them for making our stay so pleasant large bthrm but very small shelf. Can only kp soap dish. They should have a larger shelf or 2 shelves. Commode very low. Will be uncomfortable for older people and those with bad knees. No ceiling lights in room, only in entrance passage. So room becomes dim in night. Fixed breakfast was stange. No buffet. You can order any one combo on menu. we ordered cheese and mushroom omlette, 2 brown toast butter, potato wedges, small bowl mixed fruit and coffee or orange juice. So it is quite adequate for us. They took a refundable deposit of 250 CAD which they returned on checkout

"Week end in Montreal"
cedinparis, 03 Septembre 2019

Hôtel is clean and convenient right in the center 15 minutes away from old city and close to le plateau as well and in rue Saint Catherine ..problem would be the noise at night it could be really busy in Saint Catherine during the week end

"Conveniently-located, good place to stay"
ctygrl9, 31 Août 2019

Stayed here only for one night, post-cruise, but it worked out well for our situation. Was able to drop our luggage pre-check-in time so were were able to explore the city. Close to places we went to visit, including Jardin Botanique and Old Montreal. Not far from terminal or eating places. Also allowed us time to explore on foot before check-out time the next day. I knew a hot breakfast was included but I expected a catering-style buffet breakfast - was surprised that the hot breakfast was at a sit-down restaurant next door (attached to lobby). Nice surprise. That aspect exceeded expectations. Clean, safe, pleasant/polite staff. Would stay here again. If you are traveling from the US, you may be asked if you want your bill to be charged in US $ or CAN $, Be ready to choose if offered. Hopefully I made the right choice in terms of currency conversion. :)

"Andrew G"
allan g, 28 Août 2019

Was quoted a price by the woman at the front desk for two nights, when I paid the bill the manager said no it was at a higher price. Will never stay again.went down the street to another best western they put my quote on actual paper, no lying there...breakfast was terrible , the hashbrowns were cold and so greasy I couldn't touch them...I asked before I found out the bill what another night would be thinking in the same price range, they said no it would be 120.00 more..I said no way and booked out..get your quote on paper..

"Great Location in Montreal"
Urayoan, 14 Août 2019

Our visit to Montreal lasted four days. I chose the hotel because it seemed close to public transport. In the end, it was a great choice. Two metro stations are within walking distance from the hotel. Plenty of restaurants on Rue Sainte-Catherine makes the choosing of a dining place a pleasant experience. The Village is close by if you are interested in spending time there. We were lucky because the Montreal Jazz Festival was about four blocks from the hotel. We spent some time there at night and it was great. The breakfast was included in the price and was plenty. Free coffee and chocolates were available in the lobby. This hotel is at a great location in the city. The room was spacious, small fridge included, and we found it comfortable. Room service was good. No complaints here. The biggest turn off was the road and building construction around. It seems that there was construction every other block in the city. Nevertheless, we would stay here again.

"A Great Stay In A Perfect Location"
mkeane957433, 10 Août 2019

This is an excellent hotel in a great location for the value. A very good breakfast included. Valet parking extra but affordable. Walking distance to all major attractions such as Chinatown, Old Montreal, Place De Arts, lots of Shopping areas being located on St. Catherine Street, and lots of great restaurants, etc. Clean and comfortable bed and room.

"Does what it says on the label...."
Ballyline, 02 Août 2019

Easy $41 ride from the airport although driver didn't know where the hotel was. Looks a tad dodgy late at night but it's actually in a pretty good location as which ever way you go on the street there is lots of action. Easy wander downtown although it's about 20 minutes or so to nearest gray line stop for tours. Reception is pretty good, very friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant does a fairly good breakfast but it closes for food at 9pm which isn't great if you've been flying all day and are hungry. They also won't serve a beer or wine unless you eat which is daft as far as I'm concerned so if you've been walking all day and want a drink you have to go down the street. The rooms are fine, clean and with good a/c. It just does what you need!

"Excellent location and service."
Connector640922, 31 Juillet 2019

In the summer the air conditioning does not cool very well. 5 star. The location of the hotel is excellent, in the center of most attractions. I recommend the hotel. In the summer the air conditioning does not cool very well.

"Stayed 7 nights July 2019"
JS L, 31 Juillet 2019

Stayed 7 nights July 2019 - reception friendly, room comfortable and serviced daily, breakfast not as per pictures on hotel website, not usual Best Western style, adjacent K73 restuarant serves Canadian cooked style, large portions and bill conf as it is Quebec style? - mandatory? - incorrect meal information, looking for tip? - management of hotel aware that is new and "work in progress" - less wasteful just needs a "little tweak" re customer awareness and service? - overall hotel well located.

"2 night stay in vacation"
Neil M, 30 Juillet 2019

Great location. Clean rooms and property. Bianca at the front desk did a great job helping us enjoy our stay with her exceptional customer service. Breakfast was good except for the undercooked pancakes that they just could get right. Can't win them all. I will stay here again.

"Nice inside and clean"
julieobal, 28 Juillet 2019

Room was clean and very nice! Shower head only sprays around you so it made it a little tricky. Breakfast was not worth the time. Food sucked and it took forever to get any service at the restaurant. We had to ask 3 waiters for coffee and it took 45 minutes before any of them got it.

"Extraordinary staff"
jtpcpa, 23 Juillet 2019

We were impressed from the moment we checked in. Reception was extremely cheerful when these two tired travelers checked in. We had gotten lost in Montreal between road construction detours and unhelpful guidance from our car nav sysyem. The room clerk offered us on property valet parking or a choice of a less expensive off-site self-parking facility nearby. We opted for the on property valet parking as we were leaving some items in the car and felt the valet parking would probably be more secure. We had a minor problem with the in-room refrigerator that hotel staff corrected immediately. Restaurant staff was also exceptionally helpful making accomodations for my wife's dietary needs. This property is a family run operation and you could see that they were going to exceptional lengths to make all their guests stays as pleasant as possible. I hope we have an opportunity to stay with them again.

This hotel cannot be beat if you are in Montreal for the Jazz Festival (5 minute walk down St Catherine), the Circus Festival (5 minute walk to St Denis) and with a Metro stop less than five minutes away. Oh, and the breakfasts are ample size.

"Great hotel!"
theroadtriptraveller, 04 Juillet 2019

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a short stay in Montreal. The rooms are nice and a reasonable size with good air con and the beds are very comfortable. WiFi is fast. There's also a refrigerator and coffee machine in the room, which was really useful. Bathroom was clean and had a big shower. The breakfast service here is quite slow (as it's table service), and you have to choose from a set menu, but all of the staff are super and the food is really tasty, although the portions are pretty big. The location of the hotel is fantastic, and all of the shops and the jazz festival are only a short walk away. Would stay again!

Beautiful hotel in Montreal....close to downtown events & Old Montreal events. We walked to Old Montreal or rode the Hop On Hop Off bus to Notre Dame and Jacques Cartier Square. Wonderful restaurants and shopping area.

"Highly recommended!"
Daydream51234499702, 30 Juin 2019

It was one of the best stays in Montreal. Highly recommended. All the amenities provided with warm welcome and kind receptionists. Hot breakfast available for 3h. Overall experience was fantastic. If you are in Montreal this is one of the best place to stay at. I am sure you will not regret it.

"Great location"

"OK for a short business trip"
Silvie F, 23 Juin 2019

I stayed in this hotel in September 2017 during my business trip to Canada. Because back then I thought it was a nice place, I decided to use this hotel again for my business trip to Montreal in 2019. And what a disappointment... When I visited in 2017, the place was newly opened, so everything was new. Now after approx. 2 years in operation, the wear and tear already starts to be obvious (given the rather cheap materials used). For example in my bathroom, it was super difficult to turn the tap as the plastic handle already refuses to work (and it makes a terrifying sound when forced to work :) When I showered, the water leaked out through disfunctional shower door, so everytime it flooded the whole bathroom. When I was there in 2017, they said that a hotel restaurant would be open soon. But still no restaurant... Breakfast very basic, plus you must use paper plates and plastic cutlery. Coffee at breakfast undrinkable. I ended up having breakfast outside, even though my stay included breakfast. Reception staff was mostly pretty rude and unhelpful. The advantage of this hotel is its location, good business centre and quite reasonable price. So if you're looking for an OK place for a sleepover, it's OK. But if you expect high standard of accommodation and service, this is not a place for you.

"Downtown hotel"
Gary G, 20 Juin 2019

Great location with excellent service and value. Close to restaurants and shopping. Good breakfast and pleasant room with a quiet location. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return in the very near future.

"Awesome Place"
Bill2025, 09 Juin 2019

Drove from Boston to Montreal which was a great road trip through New Hampshire and Vermont and found this gem of a hotel in downtown Montréal. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel provides an excellent free hot and cold continental breakfast with lots of items to choose from. The hotel is very close to old town Montreal and Chinatown. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and McGill is fairly close. Subway and buses around the corner. This is a gem!!!

"Great location and value"
Patrizia D, 03 Juin 2019

Visited Montreal location to catch a concert. Hotel is conveniently located a few short steps from the venue. Beds were comfortable, room clean and location very central to the arts center and shopping, restaurants, etc.. Valet parking is also very convenient. Check in was quick. Breakfast was so-so. Would have liked to see more fresh options such as scrambled eggs, boiled, etc. Otherwise it hit the spot. Would definitely stay again

"Best location, at the centre of city, very well connected. Best staff, best facility, room, breakfast, g"
Guide09549105689, 27 Mai 2019

Best location, staff, facility, value for money, everything. So safe, caring and respecting staff. Breakfast and gym are great, stay available for long hours. And you can freely bring your own food and heat it too. They are perfect.

"A nice enough hotel, but...."
1HSW, 02 Mai 2019

So, first off, we were very happy with the hotel itself - it is clean and the decor is nice and modern - exactly like the pictures. The employees are pleasant, though not necessarily helpful (see below). The breakfast is just okay, not great...no waffle iron, only instant oatmeal, no bacon... hot items seem to repeat every two days and sometimes run out..but you won't starve. The location is good - about a ten minute walk to old Montreal and ten minutes to the shopping district. (warning - Montreal is one big construction zone right now, April 2019. We have never seen anything like it, the entire city is dug up, including old Montreal. Luckily in front of this hotel is one of the few areas not under construction) Now for the bad...if this hadn't happened I would have gave them 5 stars. The hotel is having a new kitchen installed and the construction inside the hotel started at 7am two of the four mornings we were there. Our room was right above the construction area and it literally sounded like a jackhammer was being used in our washroom. We were jolted awake and this noise continued sporadically every few minutes from 7am onward. There is no way anyone could sleep in our room from 7am on... (I had two rooms rented, another one for my daughter and her BF a few doors down and the noise was nowhere near as bad in their room) We called front desk to ask if it could be delayed until after 9 and they just said "NO". Later that day we inquired as to whether the construction would happen again the next morning and were ensured that it would not be starting until after 9. Nope - 7 am. Truthfully, it felt purposeful on the part of the contractor - making that kind of noise in a HOTEL, where people go to SLEEP. And management just did not care - we were not offered a different room, nor compensation. I sent them an email after returning home, asking for a response to our concerns and received nothing back. I guess that tells the story right there...once they have your $$ they wash their hands of your comfort ... which is probably why they make you pay for your entire stay up front when you arrive... So moral of the story, it is a decent hotel, but don't expect help with any problems that may arise, even if blatantly the hotel's fault. (oh, as an aside, my daughter overheard some very distraught guests at the front desk who were greatly overcharged ($50/night) at a parking facility the hotel recommended as a cheaper alternative to their own valet service. Thankfully we used the hotel's valet service for $25/night, so didn't have that problem too!)

"Read below;"
mustafamar, 01 Mai 2019

All the staff were super friendly and helpful,. The location is excellent for downtown business or meetings, I parked my car at the hotel so I didn't have to use it there as everything is close by. Breakfast was good, not a lot of varieties but everything was clean and presented in a nice way. HOUSEKEEPING WAS TERRIBLE, after they made up the room we came back to find a plastic bag with bunch of hair on it left on the tv stand, a plastic cup was still on the floor since morning not bothered to remove it.. dust not cleaned, they didn't even bother themselves to change the empty toilet paper roll.. that was the only bad experience during our stay.. otherwise it was great

"Mother Daughter trip to Montreal"
Connector23058629281, 29 Avril 2019

It was our first time to Montreal. We were slightly nervous because we were not fluent in English. The staff was very helpful and knew English proficiently to assist us. The valet parking was extremely speedy and reliable whenever we needed our car. It was worth the extra charge. The breakfast option were plentiful and always hot and filled. Some mention the outside late night noise, we did not find that to be a problem. It is an active street with several night clubs, but being in the center of the city made the daily trips easy to reach all the tourist locations in each direction. We felt safe. I would recommend this hotel for the price, hospitality, and location.

"Great stay"
Attis1, 22 Avril 2019

I spent one night in this hotel. I think it is brand new and as such it felt really great. I always try to stay in BW hotels whenever I can as they are always of great quality. This place is no exception Check in was quick and easy, as I had an early flight in, I arrived just after 11 and still I was able to check in and was in my room in no time which was very convenient. The room also felt very new and it was great size and clean. Loved the bathroom and the bed. Usual amenities, tea, coffe, safe etc. Breakfast was great, this is the first BW hotel where they offered breakfast burritos. It was very good. Location is also just could not be any better. Walking distance to pretty much everything in DownTown but bus stops are all around. The airport bus is a 2 minute walk. Loved it and would stay again.

"Nice but not quite downtown"
67marianaq, 19 Avril 2019

Good enough just to sleep. Don't expect much from the breakfast, too basic. The rooms are nice. The bathroom is roomie but you have to get in the shower to turn it on and it's cold at first, so you get the idea. It's well located, close to subway stations and close to down town, but the block it self is not very nice. Is just at the edge of the latin neighborhood and close to the university and the bus station, which is good in a way but you'll find addicts and homeless around.

"Amazing stay"
Janelle_Travels, 13 Avril 2019

Centrally located, within walking distance to so many restaurants and stores. Clean, modern and spacious rooms. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of hot and cold foods. The valet parking is totally worth it, you have in and out access all day. Overall, really enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone...will definitely return in the near future.

"Unsatisfactory services"
amirhosseinf930, 02 Avril 2019

There is a 3 star hotel that unfortunately there is submitted as 4 star hotel in booking. Nothing in the room, even water, fork, knife and plate. There is no housekeeping service and everything should carry out by ourselves. Not good services. I totally don't recommend this hotel.

"Very clean and well located"
Maps59318160615, 17 Mars 2019

The reception was very professional. The room that i had was neat to my liking, everything was where it was supposed to be. Comfort wise, i have no complaints , the beds were more than decent, i also had the possibility to adjust the room's temp as I wished , which was pleasant.

"Downtown Good Value"
Chloe C, 02 Mars 2019

Overall I would stay at this hotel again. The rooms were fairly standard, but comfortable and clean. The location was convenient. I appreciated that breakfast was included and had hot and cold options available. Very good price for the hotel.

"Good location, good breakfast."
Graciela F, 25 Février 2019

I've been 11 nights. It's a comfortable hotel with things to improve. The location is the best. The breakfast is complete. Maybe it would be better to extend the schedule to get it. Sometimes at 10 o'clock could be early.

"Amazing staff, breakfast and clean room and VERY comfortable bed. I slept like a baby."
Passport66732320425, 17 Février 2019

I had a change of plans and had to check out later than normal and keep my car parked a little longer. Staff were accomodating and helpful. And wow, i slept like a baby on that bed. So comfortable! Thank you!

"BW Western Plus Downtown Montreal"
ClaudeBR, 30 Janvier 2019

Very good location, very clean, very friendly staff. Right in downtown Montreal. Walking distance to many restaurants and CHUM. Breakfast was complete (hot and cold options) and was ready to go at 7am.

"Great Deal in a Great Location Downtown"
BrendanR_13, 28 Janvier 2019

Stayed here for one night and part of the next day while passing through Montreal. The hotel is located within walking distance of shopping on St. Catherine's Street and the sites in Old Montreal. As well, it is just around the corner from the restaurants and cafes on Rue St. Dénis. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were very clean and well appointed. Complementary breakfast offered a good selection of food to start your day. I have stayed in many hotels in the downtown core and rate this hotel as one of the best value for money places to stay in the city. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to the city.

"Definitly the right place to stay"
Rob T, 27 Janvier 2019

I had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff was very helpful and the room was extremely clean. This looks like a new hotel. Well thought trough when building is with convenient plugs with USB charge points and other modern amenities. Breakfast is fine.

"Great Hotel at great price for downtown location"
Christian I, 23 Janvier 2019

Hotel looked brand new, decor was really nice, staff was friendly.Room was clean and very comfortable. Will definitely go back there. If you have a car, they even offer valet parking, and the total parking fee with valet service is very affordable.

"Marvellous"
AlexaK48, 19 Janvier 2019

A great hotel and fantastic location for the price. Lots of breakfast options, quick valet parking service and convenient location right on St Catherine street. There was nothing too fancy but it was a very comfortable stay.

"Best for NewComers in Montreal"
Pahram, 09 Janvier 2019

It was a fair, clean hotel with very good location at Montreal down. With walking distance with most of the attraction in the city center and good access to malls and shopping center, you won't need to experience the freezing weather on Montreal in winter, if you are newcomers in Quebec. Staffs are friendly and helpful, but not warm and welcoming. The room was clean. There is no boiling kettle inside the room and no mini bar. Instead, you can use the breakfast bar on the ground floor. Breakfast was fairly good, but for people who are staying more than four days in the hotel, the variety will get difficult as breakfast is served based on 2 very similar and fix menus. Just one elevator for the hotel, especially during rush and busy hours in the morning is a big headache. You have access to the gym, and there is also a business center which is really helpful for scanning and printing. You also have access to coffee bar at ground floor 24/7 which serve sort of decent coffee.

"Great location, helpful friendly staff"
David D, 03 Janvier 2019

This was one of the nicer Best Western hotels I stayed at and the location was terrific. There were lots of affordable ethnic dining options within a five minute walk – Chinese, Vietnamese, Middle Eastern just to name some. The Old City is a peaceful 10-15 minute walk. I agree with what others wrote – the immediate neighborhood might be off putting to some but we never felt endangered. The included breakfast was very satisfying and the coffee was good.

"Great hotel fairly close to Old Montreal"
Alex S, 02 Janvier 2019

The neighbourhood is not the best, but the hotel is excellent, the service is excellent, the breakfast was good and the room was excellent. The high speed internet was high speed and the location was good for us because we wanted to spend a few days around old Montreal. I will be happy to stay at this hotel again, on my next trip with my wife to Montreal.

"Good room, disappointing amount of single use plastic"
carissalc, 19 Décembre 2018

I would have given this place at least 4 stars but the plastic cutlery, paper plates and paper cups in the breakfast area and rooms were very disappointing. There wre also no recycling bins.. Please change this and think about your impact! Bed was comfortable though and everything else was fine.

"Great Stay"
DebbieDoug28, 13 Décembre 2018

We loved our stay with this hotel, clean, modern and helpful staff and great breakfast included and lots to see and do close by. A Great Value for the money and will be telling our friends. Walking distance to Old Montreal, lots of great resturants and shopping and English speaking people if your not sure on your French. love Montreal

"Seeing foliage in upstate NY & visit the city"
Tim D, 30 Novembre 2018

Hotel very clean & looked very well maintained. Room was very nice also, new heat & a/c unit. Breakfast was nice with many choices with some slight differences than USA fare. Fairly short taxi ride from train station.

"Great Place to Stay"
Sunflower2213, 19 Novembre 2018

Loved this hotel. Located in downtown Montreal with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was bright, clean, and the staff very friendly. Room was big, separate closest, big bathroom with huge shower, and a large refrigerator. 24-hour coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby (coffee was really good) and a hot breakfast every morning that's included in your room cost. Loved being able to walk everywhere and the price of the room was great. Would recommend this hotel.

"Clean , good value"
FuntravelRN, 04 Novembre 2018

Although the hotel was clean and a good value with the free breakfast, the location was not that great. We were in walking distance of the nicer areas but it was a hike. The area the hotel was in is not that great. Homeless person sleeping on the street right next door to hotel. would have liked to be closer to old town or the port where theer were a lot of nice stores and restaurants, near Notre Dame The breakfast was ok. and the staff was helpful Parking was 25 dollars a night Now that I see the area if I come back I will stay closer to nicer areas There was a nice mall nearby with restaurants and stores Our room was a little noisy from street noise

"Good location for my purposes, but not a great hotel"
martinendley, 31 Octobre 2018

I was in Montreal for a conference at UQAM. The hotel was situated about 2 minutes away on foot, so I was happy with the location. But there was no restaurant or bar at the hotel, necessitating trips out for food and drink. Although I was told a restaurant was planned, the current lack of such basic amenities was not made clear at the time of booking. If it had been, I would have gone elsewhere.

"Good rooms and good location"
Stephanie B, 21 Octobre 2018

Stayed here with my parents for 2 nights. We had a great room on the top floor which was also very quiet. Room was clean, beds comfortable. Breakfast is nothing special but okay - eggs, sausage, cereals etc. as a buffet with paper plates and plastic cutlery. Location is okay - 15 minutes walk to the old town and it seemed there are a lot of places to go out in the night (many young people on the street). Valet parking is 25 Dollars per day but there is a public parking about 3 minutes walk for 11 dollars per day. You can stop in front of the hotel to unload/upload you luggage. Staff was friendly and helpful.

"Very nice place to stay"
Johanna J, 21 Octobre 2018

Good comfortable hotel in the center of Montreal city. We got a nice and very clean room with two queen-size beds. Coffee-maker, Full size TV with english channels. Breakfast was included and it was perfectly fine. We recommend this hotel!

"Downtown, clean and with great services"
Mociolina, 19 Octobre 2018

Nice hotel in a beautyful position to walk eveywhere in Montreal, large room with a super confortable bed, very clean, the service is friendly but professional and last but not least the breakfast is superior with a wide choice of fresh fruits, yogourts, bagels, pancakes, waffle, eggs, sausages and all you deserve for a good start. Coffee and tea always available for free. The rate quality/price is very good. Highly recommended!!

"Horrible"
vip4me, 07 Octobre 2018

Nothing worse than a hotel that treats you like a hostage after 10pm. Horrible service. Who locks guests out and has you beg to get back inside? Please take this out of the Best Western Family. If you come to Montreal you could be better off at the M Hostel.

"Very nice hotel"
jammy52, 02 Octobre 2018

We wanted to stay somewhere close to Notre Dame Basilica so we chose this hotel. It's about 1 mile from the Basilica. Front desk staff were amazing nice and went out of their way to answer questions and help us, for example trying to find a taxi, etc. If you are driving, you can use valet parking and they will get your car whenever you need it and deliver to front door of hotel, which was very nice. There's also an option to park your own car at garage down the street. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Walk-in shower only, no tub. The only thing I was disappointed in was the free breakfast buffet. We arrived about 45 minutes before the buffer was supposed to end, but they were already out of coffee. When I asked the brunch staff about coffee they just said it was gone and made no attempt to refill it. They were also slow to refill empty trays of food, so the selection was not great. If you are looking for a quick snack this would be OK, but if you expected a decent breakfast you will be better off going to one of the local restaurants nearby. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, fast food places within walking distance. We were able to get a nice dinner for both nights we stayed within 1/2 mile of the hotel.

"Good Clean Hotel in Lively Area of Montreal"
BCM1115, 29 Septembre 2018

My friends and I were there for the Rock n' Roll Marathon. I picked this hotel because it was near the start and finishing lines. Room was clean and nicely furnished. Helpful staff. Good Wi-Fi. Excellant breakfast with an array of hot and cold items. It is in the entertainment area so walking around at night you need to be aware of your surroundings. We had a very good time staying there.

"Newer Hotel"
larryjude, 19 Septembre 2018

Newer Hotel very well located to be able to walk the city and see the sites. Room was very clean with newer furniture, AC, and comfortable bed and pillows. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was varied and reasonable. They have coffee available all day which is nice when sightseeing.

"Nice hotel for the price"
monalewandowski67, 17 Septembre 2018

Clean, comfortable hotel and nearby to lots of things to do. The breakfast was decent and the workout facility was perfect. The staff was very nice and helpful and allowed us to keep our luggage at the front desk while we went out and explored.

"Ideal place to explore Montreal"
Das_Lange, 16 Septembre 2018

Best part of the Hotel is the location. Downtown, close to Old Quebec, close to the harbor close to parks. Just arrive, drop your car cars at the front desk and they will park the car somewhere in the area. First we had concerns about noise from the street in front of the Hotel (we had a room facing the street), but we were able to keep the window opened all night. After 10 it is getting quiet in the area as well. The rooms are making a new impression and the bed is super comfortable. Only downside is the usage of plastic for the breakfast menu (while the food was really good). I'm aware that this is typical in North America, but I still don't like it. ;-)

"Great hotel in a great location"
sbs3, 11 Septembre 2018

The hotel is on a Main Street with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. We parked our car in a parking garage around the corner. The area was safe. The breakfast at the hotel was wonderful. Lots of choices and very clean. We walked to Old Montreal amd Notre Dame Basilica. Great location!

"Very Nice BW in St Jerome"
Bebel, 07 Septembre 2018

We stayed at BW in St Jerome before and after a Bike tour to the Petit Train du Nord. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. They have an restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The breakfast was made to order in the restaurante. Room was clean. Our check in on the second stay was fast, but the room was not available, so we (3 couples) went to the bar and had a few drinks before we got in our room. I would recommend the BW is St Jerome!

"Quiet room for light sleeper"
charles n, 31 Août 2018

Great location for family of 4 to explore downtown Montreal! We walked everywhere. Many food opportunities around for picky eater and relatively good prices for those on a budget. Check-in was fast and easy. Room was ready even with 2 hr early check-in. Bed was very comfortable and room well insulated for light sleeper especially in a second floor downtown location. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was fair but enjoyed most coffee machine in lobby with hot chocolate and cafe mocha at all hours of the day. Also complimentary dark chocolate samples in lobby was a nice touch . Valet was fast and simple.would stay again

"Best location"
Ehsan M, 31 Août 2018

The location is great with easy and fast access to the main attractions. The room was large with a nice and convenient bed. The room amenities were acceptable. The check-in and out were easy and quick. The breakfast was fairly good!

"Good Place to stay"
62beate, 27 Août 2018

The hotel is perfectly situated between Vieux Ville and downtown. The room was well furnished and quiet because it was tothe backside. Small breakfast room. Kind and professional staff. Parking facilities.

"Serviceable but rather expensive"
Jeffrey B, 11 Août 2018

The location of this place was amazing and it was well appointed in terms of decor. The internet also worked well. The cleaning of the room was somewhat suspect, as when I wiped water off the floor the colour of the towel made it evident that the floor was dirty. The breakfast is serviceable, but nothing special. The coffee is regular machine made coffee. The staff are polite and helpful. I was pleased with the valet service.

"Not a good experience!"
lisaassad12, 10 Août 2018

This hotel should not be considered a 4 star hotel. Here are some of the problems we faced during our long weekend stay at this hotel: The reception: they are ALWAYS understaffed. I tried calling the reception on the first day and they put me on hold for half an hour. I got tired and hung up. About 10 minutes later, the receptionist called back saying the front desk was busy and he was by himself and couldn't get to the phone. Rooms: the rooms come with limited amenities. There was no shower gel, only conditioner and shampoo. They do not provide complimentary water although all 4 star hotels provide complimentary water in the rooms. The elevator: On the first day, the elevator was not working and my mother had to go up 5 flights of stairs while having medical problems with her knees. On the second day, as my husband and I (I'm pregnant, btw) were going downstairs in the elevator, it got stuck and fell about a whole level. When I spoke to the receptionist, he said it was not his responsibility, and in no way did he try to make the situation better. Positives: the proximity of the hotel to attractions in montreal, specifically Old Montreal. Although the hotel is surrounded by sex stores. The coffee machine in the lobby was also great, even though it broke down on our last day. Overall, we feel deceived by the reviews this hotel has. We also feel that this hotel was way too overpriced for the quality of stay we got.

"A gem of a hotel"
Jim C, 09 Août 2018

I visit Montreal at least once a year, sometimes more. This will now be my "go to" place to stay. It is new and clean. The rooms are very quiet. I was there in early July when Montreal had record heat (96 degrees fahrenheit) and the room temperature was always fine. I like this location because it is right near the place de arts and not far from Old Montreal and the Plateau area where there are tons of restaurants. This area of the city does not have many hotel options. Some reviews say this area is a bit seedy. As a Montreal frequent visitor I can say this areas has improved and please know in Montreal a bit seedy does NOT mean unsafe. The bed was comfortable and the shower was perfect. The price was reasonable especially for jazz fest weekend. The thing that prevents me from giving it a "5" is the breakfast. It was sub par and the coffee was horrible. I made coffee from the keurig in my room (thank god for the keurigs) and brought it down. Another downside is there is only one elevator so there was often a bit of a wait. But overall this is a strong "4" hotel in a city that, to be honest, doesn't have many 5 star hotels.

"Great service, great location, great room!"
dshedd, 07 Août 2018

Let's get the bad out of the way with immediately...the breakfast is really mediocre. We'd recommend going out unless you're really strapped for cash. That said...the location is steps from a lot of what Montreal has to offer, the interior is MUCH nicer than you would expect from the exterior, the room was way better than we expected for the price. But the real winner was the staff, who were cheerful, helpful, and fast. Valet parking is reasonably priced, and it took less than 10 minutes to get our car. Unless you're looking for cheaper "dirtbag" accomodations, or want more upscale amenities, we'd find this hard to beat.

"Great Hotel, just steps from Old Montreal"
Sam S, 02 Août 2018

Just returned from a week in Gananoque, Montreal and Quebec City. Love Old Montreal and this hotel has breakfast included. A lot of variety and tasty too. The bed was comfortable, the pillows nice, the hotel clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Also with in walking distance to all Montreal has to offer.

"Great hotel in the heart of downtown Montreal"
Nashy G, 02 Août 2018

Needed a better place to stay from the bed and breakfasts we had signed up with for our initials stays. Their rooms were cramped and had sub par internet which is no no in this day and age. Best Western Plus had great rooms amazing layouts and comfy beds. We loved it and it was well worth the extra cost over a B&B

"Clean and Close to everything!"
User, 29 Juillet 2018

This hotel is only 3 blocks to the metro, walking distance to chinatown and the waterfront including the basilica. It is in a very convenient location and is new and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful.

"Hotel staff robbed me. Worst customer service experience ever"
Raad-1986, 24 Juillet 2018

I have booked a two-day stay at this hotel, however, due to personal reasons I had to cancel the stay. Prior to arrival, they have charged my credit card for the full amount since the booking was non-refunduable which is fine. However, on the day of arrival they charged my credit card again the full amount. As someone who checks his credit card statements everyday I was shocked because I was sure that my stay was paid for in full. I contacted them and the staff member replied with an attitude. They were like we never charge people twice but I insisted that this was the case. They asked for a confirmation and I sent them a snapshot from my cc statement. Then, the replied apologizing that it was a mistake and that I should be refunded for the second charge. A few days later, I noticed that the charge has been reserved, however, the amount was less than what I was charged. I contacted them again and they said that the case is closed since the refund has been issued. However, I never received my refund in full. I have tried contacting them multiple times but they started ignoring me. Be careful people when staying at this hotel because I got robbed prior to my arrival to the hotel. I am so glad I didn't stay at this hotel. It could have been a lot worse if I did.

"Nice hotel in the down-town"
Reza S, 23 Juillet 2018

Nice hotel in the down-town, close to The Village, Latin Quartier and city centre. Rooms are specious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was ok. The personnel was kind and helpful. This hotel offers a valet parking for 25 CAD/day.

"Good location, Comfortable stay"
Colin G, 19 Juillet 2018

Good location for great choice of bars and restaurants, also for metro stations. Room was very comfortable and spacious. Super comfortable beds and great nights sleep. Breakfast was good with decent choices. Breakfast area was crowded at times. Only complaint was the toaster- took ages and added to the congestion in the breakfast area. Please update the toasting facility. It will vastly improve the breakfast experience...

"Close to a lot of must see's"
Sunkissed T, 14 Juillet 2018

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights while travelling Canada! We only really had 1 full day to see everything we wanted to see and the location of the hotel made it possible to walk to all of them. The staff were extremely easy to deal with and the rooms were really clean and modern! The included buffet breakfast was also great. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others travelling to Montreal!

"I had a comfortable stay with my family"
Partha B, 08 Juillet 2018

This hotel really exceeded my expectation. It has a welcoming staff. The breakfast is decent. The hotel rooms are nothing fancy but standard. The location is great. We were there during the Jazz festival and the action was just two blocks away. Night time is not too comfortable to walk around since it is a noisy street with Bars and restaurants. However, we should bear in mind that Montreal is a party city and we are staying in the heart of where the action is. Overall, safety should not be a concern. The valet parking is $25 but it was worth it. I would recommend it for future traveler.

"Cardinals @ Blue Jays Baseball trip"
informater, 06 Juillet 2018

We decided on this hotel because of the proximity of Olympic Stadium and Downtown. We used 747 bus from Trudeau airport to Metro Station Lionel-Groulx station. Took Direction Honoré Beaugrand. Got off at Station St. Laurent. 3min walk to hotel. Hotel is near a lot of restaurants, bars and clubs. Gotta try local St. Hubert Rotisserie, La Belle Province Poutine and Smoked Meat, La Banquise and MVP across the street. Hotel itself was great. High end Bestwestern in my book. I opened a rewards card because of my satisfaction at this property. We also felt very safe here.

"Grand Prix Montreal 2018"
dickie 380, 18 Juin 2018

Rooms were spacious and clean and a good size bathroom. We had a room facing into the middle of the Hotel which was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel very near to Metro station and a few nice eateries.

"Great location in the heart of it all."
geoboy89, 13 Juin 2018

I stayed here for the Formula 1 race weekend. The hotel is very close to Berri metro station which is one stop away from the circuit. Berri is also the hub for all of the metro lines in Montreal. Rue ste Catherine is a great street for restaurants and night life. Very noisy at night though so you may want to ask to stay in a room that does not face the street. Clean rooms, business center with computers, free breakfast, a breakfast to go on check-out. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

"Great hotel in a great location!"
campmar, 09 Juin 2018

We stayed here for five nights and we were very happy with the hotel. The location was great - we walked everywhere. The hotel seems to have had a recent update and our room was very nice. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were good, the place was spotlessly clean and very quiet. The breakfast was very good. Hot and cold items, well stocked and kept very clean. The hotel staff were super. On arrival there was a problem with our reservation but they worked really hard to make things right and we were very pleased with the way they handled things.

"A very comfortable stay!"
Max0678, 29 Mai 2018

The reception staff make the place, up there with the friendliest around the world. The hotel is well looked after, the room spacious and very clean, immaculate almost. The breakfast is more than enough to get you going. The gym and business centre are an added bonus. I was quite surprised by the standard of this Best Western which is located in the heart of downtown Montreal with everything you need around it. Really impressed

"Highly recommended!"
yvettef1212, 29 Mai 2018

Central location (appr. 17 minutes walk to Vieux Montreal, 400 m from the Maison Smphonique de Montréal), very helpful staff, excellent wifi, comfortable room (even if it is near the elevator), wide choice of things to have for breakfast.

"Very Good"
john s, 22 Mai 2018

nice hotel with clean but smaller room , no tub but large shower ---- staff very friendly , good basic breakfast ---- nice location with many places to eat within walking distance --- not far from the cruise port or railway station ---- will stay again

alidrisi2015, 20 Mai 2018

Great and safe location in the middle of everything- great friendly staff very help full - very clean and comfortable rooms - great fresh coffee 24/7 good breakfast too if you like to eat my most concern always in good coffee

"Great location! "
Stella K, 19 Mai 2018

We stayed in best western plus hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is in a convenience location with short walking distance to many tourist attractions. There are lots of cheap eats nearby. Simple free breakfast was included every morning, they even provide free coffees and lemonade that you can have throughout the day. The room was clean and spacious. Overall a great stay!

"Good hotel, except don't check in at night"
vel2018, 18 Mai 2018

It's a very good hotel, but situated in a really shady area of town which makes it very questionable. The rooms and facilities are great. Breakfast is great, except if you check in at night you will see on the street all sort of shady kind of people and shops.

"Doe what it says on the tin"
ADocUk, 17 Mai 2018

Not the flashiest hotel in the world but very comfortable beds and good en suite facilities. A good location in the city and reasonably priced. Only comment would be it was a bit loud from noise of people coming out of bars at 0300 but I was a bit jetlagged which probably made me easier to disturb.

"Great location at a reasonable price."
johnstjames53, 11 Mai 2018

Had the two things I really want in a hotel. A good bed and a realy good shower. Room is bright, clean and the washroom is a good size with plenty of room for your toletries around the sink. Good coffee machine in the lobby.

"Very good"

"New Year's Eve weekend stay"
601philipd, 23 Avril 2018

Fabulous stay! Went to Montreal on a last minute to celebrate my girlfriend's 50th birthday. Did not know they were going through a snowstorm, but the hospitality, care and professionalism displayed by the management and staff here are unforgettable. Upon returning from a New Year's Eve (her birthday) party, we discovered we could not open the security safe with her necessary medications, so called the front desk... at 2 a.m. Without hesitation, they were there. It took several attempts following the instructions to open the safe, but they did not give up, and eventually, at around 3 a.m., it was opened. Their dedication should be rewarded somehow. On the accomodations themselves, we could not have been happier. Right downtown, clean throughout, terrific breakfast options, very comfortable bed (king) and reasonably sized room. The whole experience prompted us to go back for the Montreal Jazz Festival June-July. This is now going to be an annual vacation spot. Just love this place. Great job, Ricky and the gang!

"Montreal stay"
b0wser23, 20 Avril 2018

Room was very clean, staff were very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was more then i expected. At night after the concert we attended; the front desk man ordered pizza for us , he was amazing and went above and beyond his job??

"Great stay! Excellent location!"
Renee N, 18 Avril 2018

We arrived for a concert and found the hotel location perfect. The front desk staff, breakfast staff were kind and knowledgeable. Breakfast more than ample and price great for the quality. Highly recommend!

"Downtown amenities"
Sonya K, 06 Avril 2018

This simple but modern downtown hotel was ideal for a short stay in Montreal. Staff was generally friendly, but did not seem to go above and beyond (ie. no assistance with luggage - luggage carts were self-serve). The $25.00 CAD/night valet parking with in and out privileges was the main reason why I selected this hotel, as this option was difficult to find at most other downtown hotels. The location was convenient for exploring Montreal by walking or via the Metro station about 2 blocks away. Our Queen room on the top floor was comfortable for two people, and the spacious walk-in shower was a nice change from the typical outdated hotel bathtubs. In addition to reliable wifi, this hotel also offers complimentary breakfast, a small fitness center, decent lounge areas, and a hot beverage machine in the lobby. Though we did not experience any issues during our stay, the immediate neighborhood may be a turn off to some - there was graffiti, and the street felt a bit deserted at night. The hotel rooms can also use more lighting.

"Easter weekend Trip"
Sweet_deenie, 06 Avril 2018

Hotel was pretty busy but well organized. Check in and out were easy. Valet was great. Hotel is very central. Rooms were modern and comfortable Cons: only one treadmill in the gym worked. They need to get new pillows.

"New property in downtown Montreal"
Canuck2103, 03 Avril 2018

The hotel was very new, with modern amenities in the room. The rooms are on the small side compared to older properties though. We had to set up our luggage rack in the bathroom. My biggest ‘like' of this hotel was the excellent breakfast – plenty of fresh fruit, healthy yogurt bar, and premium breads (bagels, croissants, muffins) in addition to some common foods like eggs, sausages, pancakes etc. My biggest complaint is the fact that there is only 1 elevator for 6 floors so expect long wait times during the peak hours (such as breakfast). Parking is a little pricey, but we found cheaper options at a public lot in the neighborhood if you don't mind the extra effort.

"Great stay!"
ShanezinToronto, 02 Avril 2018

My husband and I just returned from a 2-day stay over Easter at this hotel and it was a very nice experience. The room was nice and comfortable, nice bed, the washroom was lovely, all in all very nice. Location was great, as it's downtown Montreal. Our room was at the back of the hotel, which we were told overlooks Mount Royal but since it's downtown, the views weren't that great although we could see Mount Royal in the distance. The staff were very nice, including the front desk staff, breakfast staff as well as cleaning staff. Breakfast was good too. We opted for valet parking at $25 per night instead of parking elsewhere.

"Nice & new "
Cheryl G, 19 Mars 2018

Really nice hotel, modern, clean and new. No complaints at all with the hotel itself, check in was fast, the room was very nice- well decorated, very clean, spacious enough, and comfortable. The bed was great, comfy mattress and nice linens. The glass shower was great. Fast free internet, and good breakfast included. We also used the computer and vending machines in the mezzanine, which was very convenient. The only drawback is the neighbourhood, we weren't uncomfortable on the street, but it's a little sketchy in places.

"Needs more work"
Shauwn, 08 Mars 2018

Pros: Price, Location(close to old montreal, better hotel than closeby ones) Friendly and helpful staff, clean room Cons: No Restaurant ( new property)- Hotel should remove the option of restaurant on the web, I dont know why it says restaurant when there isnt one! Missing amenities (had to ask for amenities on an ongoing basis), Too much usage of paper plates (probably because not much staff at this hotel) Probably would go to a hotel where there is more service :) Only recommend if you are close to Old Montreal(better hotel than the ones closeby)

"Excellent hotel in Montreal"
752bangc, 04 Mars 2018

Hotel is located in very busy part of St Catherine. Valet parking is available for $25 per day which I recommend as parking is in short supply in the area, it includes in-out privileges. As hotel is fairly new, so the room look very clean. Rooms are on the smaller side but it is expected as it is in central area. I was able to find discounted rate, I don't think it is worth the over $300 rate. I like the convenience of the espresso machine located in the lobby, which I was able to enjoy throughout the day. During the Summer days, there are many festivals on St Catherine, so I don't recommend it for people want quiet and peaceful stay. There is so much night life on St Catherine during the summer nights. Overall I had a good stay.

"Muy buena opcion!! Gr8 option!"
edoard064, 27 Février 2018

Muy buena ubicacion. Excelente location. It was located in the main street. The personal was helpful and the hotel provided us a room when we arrive at montreal at 8:00 am. They also took care of our stuff

"Great Location, comfortable night!"
Cindylee26, 26 Février 2018

We booked a night here close the the MTelus theatre. The location is fantastic, just a block away. And to be able to have the car parked (valet parking) in a safe and not expensive at all was great. The room was large, clean and comfortable and the staff was pleasant and helpful. A free breakfast buffet was included in the cost of the room and was definately a bonus. Great stay!!

"Great overnight stay in Montreal"
skervydog, 12 Février 2018

I stayed at this hotel while passing through Montreal, so I don't know how close it is to all the tourist sites etc... The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, and overall I had a good night's stay.

"Great value"
Ella G, 30 Janvier 2018

Our room was really clean, spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast as well as the free WiFi which was fast and worked well. The staff at the front desk were really helpful.

"Excellent stay"
Mikedsn, 28 Janvier 2018

I am basing my review compared to other similarly priced hotels. The room was clean, newly renovated and well appointed with mini-fridge, coffee maker and 4 USB ports for charging phones etc. The staff was great and efficient and there was never a line up at reception, I checked in and out without any issues. The free wifi was good enough for streaming and the free breakfast had a good selection. The location was close to St. Laurent metro station and a little longer walk to Berri-UQAM. I live in a major city so I had no issue with the outside noise. I would definitely stay here again.

"Great hotel in good location"
F5239FRscottd, 28 Janvier 2018

For downtown Montreal, the BW+ is excellent. Walking distance to the universities and Old Montreal. Quiet, clean, comfortable. Good fitness centre, breakfast, and WiFi. Shower great for taller travelers: no ducking necessary!

"Good location & reasonable price for Place des Arts visit"
clamc40, 20 Janvier 2018

Needed a room for 1 night - attending a show at Place Des Arts. Parking was a little confusing at first: there really wasn't any place to pull up in front of the hotel (spaces were already occupied), so we had to park across the street to unload our bags, and then move our car in front after check-in to give the keys to the valet. I didn't SEE a parking lot (there could be one, I just didn't notice it) so we went the valet route - $25 charged separately to credit card). The lobby is small yet welcoming, and the room was fairly standard decor that is found in pretty much all chain hotels - you know, those earthy/neutral/muted tones. It was a good size, and clean, and best of all - plenty of easily-accessed power outlets (my pet peeve in hotels, if you've read any of my previous reviews!). It was a short (though FREEZING FREAKIN' COLD) walk to-and-from Place Des Arts. It was probably only a few minutes walk, but it felt like hours because of the weather - even for this tough Canadian girl. That has nothing to do wit hotel, though, so I digress. Single-serve coffee pod machine in the room, which I like but I know others may have some environmental issues with it. Also coffee in the lobby, which is a nice touch I always think. Our sleep however, was terrible. Though the bed was comfortable, our room faced St. Catherine's street, and it was a Saturday night, and even though it was a brutally cold winter evening, the street noise still carried to our room. Added to thin walls/other guests, and it quite possibly might have been the loudest night we've ever spent in a hotel (well, there was another place in Arizona, but that was another review). Exhausted, we had no reason to hang around the next day - breakfast (included in rate) was straightforward - a mixture of hot/cold - one of the more complete "free" breakfasts out there with the chains. After getting our car back from the valet (who brought it around back of the hotel and walked us through a back entrance to get it), we were on our way home. For the $145 CAD (tax included) +$25 valet (plus gratuity, of course) we spent on a Saturday night to be in the city core, it was worth it. The biggest issue was the sound, so I'd stay again but request a room away from St. Catherine's (if they have such a thing) and bring earplugs.

"Great location and very comfy room"
alaurentino, 17 Janvier 2018

The hotel has a great location, near to everything I needed during my business travel. Metro station pretty close, several dining options nearby, friendly staff and good breakfast. The room was very spacious and the bed was amazingly comfy. Fully recommended hotel. Loved it so much that booked it already for my next 2 stays in the city in the coming weeks.

"No Faults"
EBCameron, 14 Janvier 2018

The room was clean, big enough, with a comfortable bed, and a nice big shower. The decor was a little bland, but if we wanted grand decor, we would have stayed at the Ritz. Breakfast was great - huge amount of hot breakfast options, and everything was very yummy. The location is also very good, and valet parking was a fair price ($25 per day). We'd recommend this hotel.

"Bon rapport qualite prix!"
verolebel, 08 Janvier 2018

We were able to get a very reasonable price for our stay at Best Western Plus in December. The facilities are modern and new and that's a nice change because the majority of 3 stars hotels in Montreal look outdated and worn out. Our room was super comfy and clean and the central heating system was set just at the right temperature. Quality linens and towels and complementary products in the bathroom are definitely a nice touch. An ok breakfast was included in the price, could use some more variety. Location is convenient but it can get noisy at night because of the bars on St-Catherine street. There is a lot of eating options around, and you can easily move around as the hotel is located between 2 subway stations (St Laurent and Berri UQAM). The only thing I would change is the fact that plastic/ carton plates and cups are used for breakfast and in the room and that generates tons of unnecessary garbage! Definitely not a good thing for the environment and surely a thing that can be easily improved!

"Great Hotel"
Lisa C, 06 Janvier 2018

The service was excellent and we opted for the $25/night valet parking. The room was clean and bed was comfy. We did hear some party goers late at night. The breakfast was not bad for being included and checkout time at noon was great.

"Good but could be better"
804urielg, 06 Janvier 2018

Overall the hotel is quite good, the only thing I would change is the breakfast. They serve the exact same things every single day. The plates and cups are plastic/carton which: a)Generates tons of unecessary garbarge to the enviroment and b)Feels like Im eating in a street place

"Great Location, Extremely Comfortable"
Bellavista66, 27 Décembre 2017

We had one night here and found the service at the front desk very friendly & efficient and rooms extremely clean & welcoming. Great facilities and close to restaurants to eat out as no on-site restaurant. Breakfast is an option in a dining area for a fee of $8 each. This was more than adequate. Fantastic indoor pool & jacuzzi.

"Great hotel - recommend"
toosarmi, 23 Décembre 2017

Our family of six had a great time staying at this hotel. Location was great, staff efficient, professional and very friendly and helpful. Everything about the hotel was great. Beds very comfortable and breakfast had varied options to suit all tastes

"Great place to stay"
jadene c, 21 Décembre 2017

I read some of the reviews and was a little nervous to stay here. It turned out to be a lovey place to stay. Good location , great breakfast, clean/updated rooms, and friendly staff. Will stay again! Loved the updated amenities and gym access

"Great location and very clean!"
Chris R, 10 Décembre 2017

Picked this hotel based on its proximity to M Telus music hall. Perfect choice. Hotel is a few hundred feet from the venue. Room was very clean and shower was large and comfortable. Hotel much cleaner than similar properties in the US. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was just ok. Selection was good. Biggest disappointment was the syrup. Would recommend hotel upgrade to real maple syrup! The property is in Montreal after all!

"Good location, great service, excellent rooms"
Yuri F, 10 Décembre 2017

The hotel is placed in the Rue Ste Catherine, which is great at night for shopping and nightlife. A few steps away from subway stations, offers real nice rooms and a tasty breakfast. Staff was very helpful and pointed us to some nice food options in the area. Definitely a good choice in Montreal.

"Great location and value for the money"
leonardt303, 03 Décembre 2017

Downtown Montréal, lots of restaurants and attractions at a walking distance. Very comfortable bed and clean room (new hotel, one year old). Valet parking. Great staff. They accommodate me the best they could every time. Very satisfied for the service. Breakfast could be improved with some veggies, but still decent.

"Great Location"
185genevievet, 30 Novembre 2017

The hotel was clean, rooms were nice and quiet. Great location under a minute's walk to the Metropolis and Foufounes Electriques, perfect for shows! Staff was friendly. Valet was quick and convenient.

"Best Western Plus"
Cami I, 27 Novembre 2017

We had a nice stay at this hotel, is centrally located, the room was big, comfy bed, warm, garden view. You can go around walking. There is difficult to find parking but the guy at the reception was very helpful. Free coffe. Free breakfast but the place to take breakfast is really small and somethimes is difficult to find free places. I'd visit again.

"VERY GOOD!!"
josepsanjuan, 26 Novembre 2017

We liked very much the BW Plus on St Catherines, it is very centrally located, they have a nice hot breakfast, the rooms are large and comfortable and the staff is vey friendly. We left at 5am to catch a flight and staff gave us some breakfast items to take to the airport. Nice touch!! Recommended!!

"Most comfy beds"
Bone_Chaos, 22 Novembre 2017

Great location, decent price and the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. I highly recommend staying at the hotel if you're ever to visit Montreal. It's close to everything, shops, restaurants, downtown.

"Great Location, Spacious Room, Free Breakfast"
lovebudgettravel, 16 Novembre 2017

We had a pleasant 3 nights stay at this hotel. We chose the hotel because of the location and the price. It was really easy to go around either on foot or by public transports. There are a couple metro stations within 5 - 10 minutes walk, a lot of restaurants and shops around the hotel too. The area also felt safe despite a couple of sex-theme shops around the block. The room was very clean and spacious with warm and comfortable bed. My only complain was that the shower door was a bit heavy and hard to pull open because the handle was a bit small to grab and the shower smelled weird (every day), though it did look clean.... During our stay, we didn't fully utilize the free breakfast as we slept in and usually woke up when breakfast was almost over (they served breakfast from 7-10am). I came down a couple of times to bring a plate for hubby, though... Both mornings, all the food seemed similar. There were several types of cereals, juices, coffee and tea, eggs (no cheese omelet) potatoes, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, 1 type of breakfast meat (1 day it was breakfast sausages and 2nd day it had breakfast patties), toasts, bagels, muffins, yogurt with variety of toppings and fresh fruits. Keep in mind that the hot breakfast items (pancakes, waffles, potatoes, eggs, meat) were all "processed," they looked like those frozen microwavable from the frozen aisles. There a gym and business center at this hotel and 24 hours coffee and tea at the lobby. They also offer luggage storage (in a locked room) which we utilized after we checked out prior to our departure from Montreal. We will certainly stay here again if we're visiting Montreal.

"Decent wray"
Tyler P, 09 Novembre 2017

Our stay at this hotel was decent. Parking in the front is a little awkward as they don't have much space to pull up. The room was nice and clean, and close to most of the shops on ste Catherine street. Customer service was lacking a little bit though. Also the breakfast room is cramped but we still found a seat. Lastly the doors were quite thin so it was louder than some other hotels I've been to. All in all thought it was a good stay for a one night stay.

"Montreal"
heinkel1, 08 Novembre 2017

great hotel as was the last one in Quebec. very close to all of city centre and place to board city sightseeing buses. got taxi to old town and a wonderful visit to the Cathedral magnificent building and history.quite a bit of walking involved to see anything. and to find a diner for lunch.found one eventually but a small menu.but ok for a snack. etc.go there to see the old way of old French Canadian way of life.

"Family Trip"
Canuck7115, 06 Novembre 2017

Great hotel in a very good location, close to shopping, Chinatown, restaurants & other amenities. Good sized room with 2 very comfortable queen beds, strong wifi, good selection of complimentary breakfast, valet parking is a plus & friendly staff make us feel like home.

"Great location! Romantic getaway"
olivia_cart96, 30 Octobre 2017

Within walking distance to Old Montreal, shops, restaurants galore. Rooms clean and confortable. Service is there when you need it. Breakfast has a variety of items to choose from, better than most other hotel breakfasts! I would recommend

"Great Stay"
Mcwulla, 29 Octobre 2017

We stayed here for 3 nights. Clean & comfortable rooms, good location, great hot buffet breakfast provided. Just a couple of downsides, our room was next to the lift so quite noisy in the morning and the fridge in the room made a racket (although we didn't complain to reception about either). Good value for money.

"Comfortable stay but not the most welcoming staff"
Anabel C, 25 Octobre 2017

The room was overall very comfortable and clean. Great location on the Main Street in Montreal, Rue Saint Catherine. They had a valet service at $30/night which worked perfectly for us. Definitely didn't seem like the Best Westerns I've previously stayed in. The gym was well equipped with enough machinery to do a good work out. The breakfast was poor with limited selection and plastic cutlery (which made it really difficult to cut anything with). The staff at reception weren't very welcoming at all - you'd expect smiles and politeness which they all lacked. Upon check out, there was no ‘did you enjoy your stay or did you find your room comfortable', they also assumed instantly there were additional charges to our room and didn't apologies when they found out that there were in fact none. Service is everything these days so definitely won't be staying there again. As for the cleaner she was great and super helpful so we tipped her at the end of our stay.

"A clean and comfortable"
795Bernie2, 25 Octobre 2017

Hotel's location is in walking distance to many attractions. The guest rooms which look like they have been newly renovated are very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful with information about the area.

"Very comfortable hotel in great location"
americagirl22, 24 Octobre 2017

I loved my stay in the Best Western Plus Hotel. I stayed here 9 nights for business so I needed a comfortable hotel where I could feel at home. This hotel did the job! The hotel is very new so everything looks very fresh and clean. The kingsize bed slept wonderful and I loved the walk-in shower with glass doors (so much better than these bath tubs with shower curtains you find in most hotels). Wifi worked very well throughout the hotel. The Location is great as well, a short walk from the Saint Laurent metro station and with the bustling Rue St Denis around the corner. The only downside is the breakfast. Which is your typical plastic fantastic American breakfast. Really, I dont know how people on this continent stay healthy. Nothing (well except for the bananas maybe) is proper food at this breakfast buffet. Pre-fab waffles, powder eggs....and plain yoghurt that does not taste plain at all but more like there was a ton of sugar added. The amount of plastic you use for just 1 breakfast is also not very environmentally friendly. The yoghurt for example was served in very small plastic cups. Should you want a decent amount of it, you needed at least 3 of those cups and empty them in a plastic bowl so you could add your granola and everything. I thought the amount of waste I had created every day was not very 2017 If you like these typical North American plastic breakfasts, then you'll sure love it but I love my food just a little but more authentic and healthy.

"1 week stay"
Frank S, 21 Octobre 2017

Very good hotel with very friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast with enough verity. In the direct neighbors is a lot of activity,so asked for a room in the back side off the hotel. All the interesting places to visit in walking distance,so no need for a car and spend money for parking place.

"Nice stay in Montreal but beware of them charging before arrival"
Bigruss57, 18 Octobre 2017

Parking – extremely limited out front, for checking in, had to initially drop someone at door and drive around. Got told to just double park and partially block the street to unload. Once we paid, the valet parked our car in garage for $25 per day. This is the only option. At check in we found their policy is to charge the full accommodation cost from your credit card 48 hours prior to your actual arrival – not at check out like most other hotels. We wanted to use a travel money card pre- loaded with $CAD to pay, but they had already taken the fee from our Australian card we use back home just to secure our bookings- NOT HAPPY!! As a result this stay has cost us more due to transaction fees etc. They offered to put the money back, but this would have cost us even more fees. This is a disgrace taking money from you before you even arrive. There was no offer of any compensation for our added cost. Lifts work well Air con works well. Very quiet Good size fridge Room nice, bed comfy, though not huge. Bathroom good size, nice shower Breakfast, good selection, hot and cold TV could have more English speaking channels Great location, handy to sightseeing Plenty of food options close by, plus a mini mart Need more tourist info brochures on site, they gave us 1 map but not a good one. Better at tourist info building in Peel Street but it is a bit of a walk away Room very quiet, was next to lift but didn't even hear that No traffic noise

"Comfortable hotel in bad side of town"
traveggie, 13 Octobre 2017

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a room overlooking St Catharine (the front). Because of this we didn't have much sleep with all the shouting till around 5 in the morning most nights. On the last night we heard fights which had to be broken up by the police. I suppose, if you have a room at the back, this wont be a problem. This is a part of St. Catharine with many homeless, beggars and junkies. In the day its a bit of a nuisance and sometimes shocking, but still safe to walk around. On the upside, not far from the hotel, St. Denis is a great street with many restaurants to choose from. The hotel is new, with good rooms and a very comfortable bed. No complaints there.

"We loved this hotel and highly recommend!"
Helenjen, 12 Octobre 2017

We loved staying @ this hotel....it is in a fantastic location....walking distance to the bus station, the huge shopping mall, the port, the hop on hop off bus and many restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is clean and very well setup, super comfortable bed, large shower with powerful hot water supply, plenty of space for bathroom gear (so many hotels don't accommodate this), coffee machine in room and down in the lobby as well, and an enjoyable breakfast. All the staff are friendly, welcoming and kindly accommodated my need for a quiet room....much appreciated. Wifi was strong and consistent and there is a business centre for printing boarding passes etc. The hotel has thought of everything.....well nearly, whilst the breakfast is plentiful, varied and enjoyable....the plastic cutlery and cardboard cups and plates are off putting apart from being environmentally incorrect....minor misdemeanour. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend you do too!

"Good location & nice property"
John M, 12 Octobre 2017

Very nice hotel with excellent & caring staff! Parking is a bit of an issue so you are stuck with their very good valet, just be prepared for the fees for parking. 2 blocks from the metro, so a car rental is really not required for the average tourist.

"Montreal Hotel"
lindabM6696CC, 08 Octobre 2017

Very nice and clean hotel. Would recommend this hotel. In a very convenient location of the city. Near the water front and other interesting sights to visit. Enjoyed our short time with this hotel. Would stay again.

"pleasant surprise"

"Fantastic"
williamoneill, 06 Octobre 2017

Location is sublime. Experience was Perfect. Great Hotel. Book your next stay here and you will not be disappointed. The reason for our stay was to getaway to a new place for the kids to experience some new culture. This hotel and experience was exactly what we needed. Friendly staff and clean rooms with no problems at all.

"Good choice for us"
TallestLeprechaun, 05 Octobre 2017

When we arrived the very professional and courteous front desk staff welcomed us with a smile and held our luggage in a secure area until our room was available, Saturday morning. Our room was entered by waving the keycard and was very clean along with the rest of the hotel which must have had a recent remodel. The morning breakfast is included in the room charge and had a nice offering which is always a nice touch. The location was good for us for walking to most of the sights and dining spots. The price is right and we would stay here again in the future.

"Great location - "
Mary02766, 02 Octobre 2017

This hotel is very convenient to a wide variety of restaurants, museums, shopping, public transportation, etc. The room was very small, and the bathroom was TINY! But everything was clean and functional.

"Very Good hotel"
krassimirds, 27 Septembre 2017

Hotel is located conveniently close to Old town on a busy, but not very noisy street. Room was clean, there was A/C unit with temperature control. Our room was pretty quiet during the night as it was on the other side of St.Catherine street. Breakfast was free and good. Personnel was professional and helpful.

"Great hotel"
gracef32017, 26 Septembre 2017

The hotel is new, kept very clean. We walked everywhere: restaurants, shopping, basilica. The front desk staff were very personable and helpful. Definitely would recommend this hotel. Restaurant wasn't open yet but the complementary breakfast was served in restaurant style setting. Lots of breakfast choices.

"Very quiet in the hub of downtown Montreal"
retiredhelidude, 26 Septembre 2017

Stayed 3 nights here in a king room - VERY quiet - nice amenities - comfortable bed and really friendly service - did not do the breakfast but it looked quite nice! The front desk was very helpful in giving us touristy tips and booking a taxi. Check in was amazingly fast. Would stay here again!

"Best Best to date!"
justkelli, 25 Septembre 2017

Wow, we were pleased that we managed to find the hotel very easily and pulled up right out front with no parking hassle. Valet parking was quick and easy and reasonably priced. Room was clean and comfortable and we only had a little noise from noisy neighbors early in the evening. The AC was a bit frustrating but we managed to get it working after the auto delay time had passed. Breakfast was standard eggs and sausage and was quite busy due to a large bus tour coming down around the same time. But you can go back anytime before 10 when it quiets down a bit. Fitness center is average with standard equipment and the elevator is quite quick. Ask for an inner courtyard room and it is very quiet with no street noise whatsoever. Well located for local restaurants and fast check in and check out. Nice in-room fridge and TV and the internet is very quick. Reasonable walking distance in East end of town and close the China Town. Everything accessible with Metro or a cab if you are not a walker.

"Very pleasant business stay"
Silvie K, 24 Septembre 2017

I stayed in Best Western twice during my September business trip to Canada. It is a new hotel, therefore everything was new and nice. On the other hand, the hotel restaurant has not been finished and opened yet. I liked both of my stays. The rooms I got for the two stays were identical, I would not even tell that I am in a different room during the second stay. The rooms were very clean. The location is great, it takes you only about 15 mins to reach the old town on foot and the stop of the airport bus 747 as well as the central bus terminal as well as the metro station are only about 5 - 10 mins away on foot. The business center is very good, you can print documents for free. There is also an unlimited access of coffee (which is a must while on business trip...:) - a coffee machine in the room (capsule coffee machine, but with good coffee) and a coffee machine in the lobby. The breakfast was ok, good choice of products. However I think that the size of the room with food is really small given the capacity of the hotel, in rush hour it is packed with people, which is not comfortable and you might queue for coffee or food. I also did not get the reason why such a hotel is using paper plates and plastic cutlery. It's neither ecological nor practical, you can barely cut something with the plastic knife. Not to mention that it is ugly... The only real disappointment. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.

"Relatively new hotel"
AnnyNYC, 20 Septembre 2017

The hotel is relatively new. It's decorated very nicely and the staff are excellent friendly and very helpful with suggestions of things to do/places to see. The bed was spectacularly comfortable and just what we needed after big days of sightseeing.

"Good hotel. Will come back for sure"
393yerzhanm, 18 Septembre 2017

Everything is good. The only thing that bothered me is the neighbourhood that becomes unsafe after 8 PM. Clean, well situated, decent free breakfast. Overall hotel looks quite new or recently renovated. High speed internet in the rooms and two computers with free printing available downstairs.

"convenient stay on st catherine st in montreal"
martintE7164JL, 16 Septembre 2017

easy access for a car, using the efficient valet service. Hotel well positioned for our activities concentrating downtown and/or close to downtown, so that we could walk to restaurants and to University within 15 mins for example. Quiet as well with a view overlooking a park at the back of the hotel. mbt de ndg

"Excellent for the money"
Marty F, 11 Septembre 2017

At first, was unimpressed with location, but then found it to be perfectly located for easy walks to great downtown Montreal. Overall, the hotel served our needs as well as could be expected. Would definitely tell others to check this place out. The front desk staff was very nice, helpful and professional

"New & modern hotel"
RwhL, 07 Septembre 2017

A new hotel looked moderrn. Some of the staff members provided better services than the others. Strong wifi in our room. Complementary breakfast with a good variety of choices. We had a quiet, clean and spacious room. The hotel seemed to be in a safe seedy neighborhood surrounded by a number of sex shops. It is also in a very convenient location to explore main attractions. It is walkable to the gay village, Chinatown, bus station, metro stations, downtown and old Montreal.

"Montreal vacation"
nickone9, 07 Septembre 2017

The hotel room was clean and updated however it was lacking in tv service. DVD and movie rentals were not available and the station choices were extremely limited. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. The location despite rave online reviews was poor unless you like to be the middle of sex shops, x rated movies and clubs. Not a good location especially for families. We were quite surprised.

"Good location, clean, free breakfast"
atso1212, 06 Septembre 2017

Pros: location walkable to Old Montreal and other neighborhoods, free breakfast, person at the desk helped us book a tour to Quebec City Cons: AC did not circulate around the room very well, our cleaning person came in while we were sleeping even though we had put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door handle

"First impression"
cherryaunar, 03 Septembre 2017

We do be impressed on the first person whom has his service minded the most. The area is in the center of the attractive places. It is easier to find and get so many shops. We do enjoy the warm meal for breakfast.

"Good hotel with good location"
David H, 01 Septembre 2017

This hotel was all you would expect of a hotel of this category, the staff was very helpful and the location excellent for exploring Montreal. We were warmly welcomed and very much enjoyed our short stay there.

"Good enough - No self parking"
Sergio Mr O, 30 Août 2017

-busy location -no self-parking, prepare 25 extra per night for valet parking (+tips I guess) -Good decoration -Clean a quite -comfy bed Ideal si no vas a conducir y estas dispuesto a pagar extra por una ubicacion cerca al bares y otros

"Great location!"
valencia1958, 28 Août 2017

We stayed for 2 days in June before embarking on cruise ship. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ask for a nice place to eat and were directed both times to wonderful restaurants just down the street. Sainte Catherine St is turned into a walking street and has many nice restaurants along the street. While having dinner we watched the setting up for a jazz festival that was to start the next day. Almost wish we could have stayed 1 more day, it looked like it was going to be a great time. The room was simple and clean and the price was right and included breakfast on the 1st floor. While it was the typical fare, the staff there was also most pleasant and helpful. Food was hot and they kept bringing more. It was all self serve from eggs to toast and everything in between. Cereals, yogurt and fruit were plentiful. The ladies also kept this area spotless and had a friendly smile.

"Great location"
Kygirl56, 27 Août 2017

We lucked into this location by being loyal Best Western patrons and were well pleased. Close to restaurants and entertainment. The staff were most helpful in arranging a gray line tour of the city and suggesting restaurants. We used valet parking which wasn't cheap but the best option for us.

"Good hotel but not during street activities"
Flavio D, 23 Août 2017

The hotel is new with good room and bathroom. It has a good breakfast and nice services. Unfortunately we arrive on Sunday when there was a two days musical activities up to 8:00 PM and the street was close to cars. This event was not so good for the area since there was a lot of people smoking pot around and it was not so safe to walk on that area

"Amazing Service, Beautiful Rooms"
H4972UPjosephl, 23 Août 2017

This one the greatest hotel experiences I've ever had, after our original accommodations ended up being cancelled I called this hotel and they were more then accommodating. The staff was respectful, and very easy to deal with. They also gave us a great deal. The rooms were beautiful, the bathrooms were like spa's. If your going to Montreal, stay at this hotel.

"Well Located Hotel with Great Staff"
Stephanie P, 20 Août 2017

This hotel, while nothing to look at on the outside, was more than satisfactory on the inside. Lovely staff, comfortable beds and great bathrooms with lovely bath products. Wonderfully situated to all that Montreal has to offer. Nice young street vibe outside. When we were there there was a graffiti art festival going with artists painting on the side of wall buildings. Great stuff!

"excellent value, downtown montreal"
438dillipp, 19 Août 2017

Nice central location in downtown Montreal. It is close to most places of interest. The hotel provides an excellent value including great breakfast, wi-fi and nice rooms. The staff was very friendly staff and the hotel has nice overall decor.

"Enjoyable stay, close to metro."
Dan M, 18 Août 2017

We loved our stay at this hotel. The St.Laurent metro stop was 1 1/2 blocks away which made getting around so easy. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was filling and good choices were offered. The fresh coffee in the lobby was a treat as were the chocolates. Lots of restaurants nearby and an easy walk to Vieux Montreal. Would stay there again.

"Free breakfast and good location"
singinggigi, 17 Août 2017

Finding an affordable hotel in July was a challenge. Accidentally stumbled upon this hotel. Friendly and accommodating staff. I had a king room for 3 nights. My room was facing away from the streets which could become an issue on Friday nights. Everything in the room worked. Spacious bathroom. Breakfast is included in the rate. Yogurt, coffee, juice, bagels, eggs, sausage, bacons etc. were served everything morning during my stay. The breakfast team worked diligently to keep the area well stocked and clean. The hotel is located on the less busy side of St. Catherine. There are a number of nightclubs and bars close by. It could get noisy and rowdy on the weekends.

"Fun Area"
Paula K, 17 Août 2017

Great location for walking, people watching, lots of activity, close to Metro and many restaurants. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating to any of our requests and we had many...espically for directions, printed or verbal.

"Good but not a luxury hotel"
Hawaii-Fan-from-LA, 15 Août 2017

The staff is good and makes every effort but I would rate this hotel, due to the quality of carpet, lighting, sheets, etc., somewhere between average and very good. This is not really a 4 star property. It is somewhere between a 3 star and 4 star. It is only a year old, and not huge, which is good. But no bathrobe was offered and the bath soap and shampoo etc. were "fine," but not excellent as you would get at a W hotel or St. Regis. The lighting in the rooms is very harsh. Phone calls within the U.S. and Canada are free, which is a big plus. The internet was excellent. The hotel is fairly close to what is called the "Gay Village," which is fun, and also close to an excellent Metro station, Berri-UQUAM. But the area is dicey. It is what I might describe as "gritty" with a large number of people begging and urinating on the sides of buildings. The area can be noisy for my taste. I requested a room in the rear, which they gave me (thanks) and I think that has less noise than the front, with the street traffic, but still, even in the back, every night during a 3 night weekend stay, I heard what seemed to be "street people" in groups having loud arguments at 3 a.m. or so. Still, I felt safe in the area. It may be an area in transition. At a certain price point, I would stay again. I see that sometimes the rate on the BW website for the hotel is around $350 Canadian dollars a night, and I think for that you can get a more upscale hotel, perhaps at not so "happening" a location.

"This is a gem right in the center of everything you want to do in Montreal"
Bethany M, 14 Août 2017

We LOVED this hotel. SO clean, so friendly, very economical. In the middle of everything we wanted to do in Montreal. Shopping, food, pedestrian malls, a grocery nearby, Jean Drapeau Island a short Metro ride of 5 minutes. A central Metro hub for any line to anywhere in the city is a 5 minute walk. Old Montreal is 10 minutes walking distance. We will return again and again. No noise, great water pressure, nice bathroom, room, and fitness center. Very good breakfast and lobby for sitting and relaxing. An IGA grocery nearby with good eats for eating in your room economically.

"Perfect Location"
s_wheeler10, 13 Août 2017

My family and I spent a weekend in Montréal and were looking for a centrally located hotel. We were so happy that we stumbled upon this Best Western Plus as it has been the absolutely best location! Just a short 6 minute walk to the Berri-UQAM metro where all three lines (orange, green, and yellow) intersect, plus only about a 10-15 minute walk from almost everything we wanted to see (sightseeing, restaurants, etc.), making for easy travel. The actual hotel itself has been wonderful with friendly staff and clean rooms. My only complaints are minor: the breakfast (although warm and delicious) was difficult to enjoy due to the odd layout of seating and overcrowding, the safety of the hotel could be improved as anyone can walk into the hotel from the street and the lobby elevator does not require a room key card to access (meaning that anyone can access any floor of the hotel without having a card), and lastly, due to the central location on a popular street, there occasionally was loud noise that permeated the walls of the hotel and made it difficult to relax. In my opinion, theses "cons" are quite minor, and the pros far outweigh the cons. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great experience visiting Montréal!

"Great hotel - ahead of neighborhood"
robertrN7481AV, 10 Août 2017

Hotel was excellent - very new, immaculate, helpful staff, good breakfast variety, comfortable bed. Only issue is the neighborhood. Looks worse than it is - some seedy looking places nearby. But we walked to restaurants every night and had no issues whatsoever.

"Needs some improvements"
ShirleyC8, 09 Août 2017

The counter-staff were responsive and helpful. The building itself needs work as it appears to be a refurbished building in a neighbourhood that is undergoing major transition from what used to be a rough neighbourhood. Fix the sharp, squeaky doors!

"EXCELLENT HOTEL,VALUE"
Rodney K, 03 Août 2017

This is a newer hotel in a great location in Montreal. Close to the July Food Fair which was going on at this time. Breakfast was great.Rooms in this hotel were clean, modern with a large walk in shower.Anyone choosing this hotel will be happy!

"Wonderful location and brand new!"
Tonicka85, 02 Août 2017

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the grand prix, plus a few extra days, and the location couldn't be better. First, it's about a 5 min walk from the main metro station which is just wonderful after a long day of walking all around the track or the city. It was also in the middle of restaurants, shops, attractions, all kinds of things! We never ran out of things to do when we weren't at the race and if we wanted to explore another part of the city, we just went and hoped on the metro. If you are coming for the grand prix and bringing a car, I HIGHLY recommend using their valet. It made everything SO much more convenient and when you have everything within walking distance and the springtime weather is so gorgeous, just save yourself the stress of driving and fighting for parking and let the incredibly accommodating staff at the hotel handle it. They just need about 5-10 min heads up when you need your car and it'll be waiting for you right out front. It is by far worth the money, which incidentally is comparable to daily parking fees in the city anyway. The hotel is newly renovated and I really enjoyed the big tiled steam showers after long, hot dusty days at the track. The rooms are very nice and CLEAN and modern. The breakfast was wonderful before we headed out for the day. The staff was so helpful in giving us tips to travel around the city. Overall, just a great experience, I highly recommend this place.

"Our third City on our 2017 Canadian tour"
tvrpieman, 01 Août 2017

We booked this Hotel for its downtown location close to bars we wanted to visit and also the Metro is only a short walk. The Hotel is quiet new so everything is new at the time of our visit. Our room was at the front of the building but was sill quiet at night with slight traffic noise in the morning. Parking was valet parking and very efficient but at an extra cost of obviously. Breakfast is a bit of a nightmare if you pick a peek time to eat as there is bearly enough seating.

"Good new hotel on a best location"
Maz C, 01 Août 2017

Brand new hotel that is just opened in an area that badly needs new businesses. Very clean hotel in a very busy Montreal block (Quartier des spectacles). Prices are bit on higher side but location is spectacular.

"Brief overnight in Montreal"
MTK5, 30 Juillet 2017

We were visiting Quebec City and decided to visit Montreal on our return home, just for a brief overnight. This hotel was clean, very comfortable, and close walking to Old Montreal. There were festivals all around with great food! The staff gave great tips for our short time there. The valet parking was a plus.

"Great hotel in great location"
Jennifer M, 27 Juillet 2017

This new hotel was a great place to stay in Montreal. The rooms were spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Despite being on a busy street, the room was very quiet and the air conditioning worked great during our stay. The staff was awesome and helpful. The location is perfect, within walking distance to all the sights and shopping.

"Avoid"
chloep676, 22 Juillet 2017

I stay here 3 nights for business, it was a disappintment. Not clean, terrible breakfast, poor safety on room (they left my door wide open a whole day), reception staff at night is terrible, not worse the price at all !

"Montreal vacation"
J8536UGphilipped, 20 Juillet 2017

My wife and I spent 3 days of vacation in Montreal, visiting tourists attractions during the day, and walking around Vieux Montreal in the evening. We enjoyed excellent dinners , friendly service, and the congenital attitude of all the great people we met.

"Good stay and value for money"
Q1445GYmarkr, 17 Juillet 2017

I had a good stay and would stay again. I would recommend the valet service it was great and to have your car parked for you in that area was great! The area is "downtown" so expect a downtown vibe with all that comes along with a major city. I was able to walk to areas of note for site seeing and stores and restaurants on the same street provided me with stuff close. Never felt unsafe.

"Nice new hotel"
Robert G W, 16 Juillet 2017

Wanted to be near Quartier Des Spectacles part of the city to enjoy the Cirque activities. This Best Western was a good value and perfectly located. The neighborhood is improving rapidly and becoming a modern/artsy trendy area. Our room was on the back side of the hotel and very quiet with an open view.

"Comfortable hotel in a perfect location"
susannam913, 15 Juillet 2017

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was walking distance from all the places that we wanted to visit, it was clean and comfortable, with a nice buffet breakfast included, good internet, and friendly staff. We attended the Montreal Circus Festival and found ourselves next to the Jazz Festival too. So that was a nice surprise, being sandwiched in between two great festivals. We walked everywhere. The location could not have been better for everything we wanted to do.

"Great Value and Comfortable Stay"
joannesR2771BH, 14 Juillet 2017

We went as a family/ladies getaway to explore Old Montreal. The hotel was very clean, the staff always friendly and helpful, and the rooms and beds were very clean and comfortable. A quick walk to Old Montreal and China Town, as well as to restaurants on St Catherine St. We had breakfast included in our room rate and it offered a good selection of hot and cold options and plenty of it. I would definitely stay here again.

"Nice Hotel"
melissaaZ4577QD, 13 Juillet 2017

The hotel is located in a really good area to catch the subway, buses, etc. The breakfast is convenient and adequate. The beds are not saggy but firm and comfortable. Hotel staff was very helpful in making reservations for tours.

"Diamond near Old Montreal!"
chumley_11, 12 Juillet 2017

Best Westerns are always reliable..staff parked our car..always a fee in a city...breakfast easy and varied..included..15 min walk to spectacular Old Montreal, and all the fun, cafes, restaurants, water activities, museums and shopping..we loved it...nightclubs near if you like that!

Fantastic location for events & Metro. Within walking distance of greatshopping and restaurants. Second stay here & intend to make this my destination everytime I go the Montreal. Staff are incomparable: the best.

"Comfortable and Accessible to D.downtown"
890glennp, 10 Juillet 2017

Comfortable hotel with easy access to downtown Montreal, Chinatown and the jazz festival venues. Very clean room and good night's rest on a comfortable bed. Best breakfast at a Best Western yet. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

"Beautiful Hotel, but we didn't feel like gusts"
DeGags13, 09 Juillet 2017

The hotel is clean and modern, and the free breakfast was substantial. However, I was very disappointed with check in. The hotel advertised valet parking, however, upon check in I was informed that I needed to self park. I was given a pre-printed map with a recommended parking lot. I was told it would be $20 a day. Upon navigating my way in a big square I arrived at the lot. I was told the charge was $25 per day and when I went to hand over my Visa card I was told it was cash only. I only had USD on me, based off of the current exchange rate, $75 CAD would be $57 USD, but when I tried to pay $60 USD the shady lot attendant refused to do the exchange and wanted $75 USD for the $75 CAD fee. This was the worst experience on my trip, and completely avoidable on the hotel's part. For starters, they could have brought my car to the lot for a valet fee and charged my card. But at the very least they can inform guests the lot only accepts cash and offer to exchange foreign currency prior to going to the lot, or point them towards an ATM. It made me feel less like a guest and more like just a customer. The experience cost me $20 USD, but it cost the hotel 2 stars on my review.

"Comfy hotel in Central Montreal"
R W, 04 Juillet 2017

New hotel, clean, pleasant comfy room, good business centre and more than adequate breakfast. Efficient, friendly staff. Close to jazz festival location and the Desjardins shopping centre. Notre Dame and China Town in walking distance. Personally a little uncomfortable with the location.

"Overall Great!"
Y108PTjasonb, 04 Juillet 2017

Perfect Room for A Vacation to Explore All of Quebec if you don't mind walking a bit Vieux Quebec is just 15 min Away Up Hill! if that was too much Valet Parking is quick on his feet. We are very pleased to have stayed here at the right price too!

"Great location"
surrens2017, 03 Juillet 2017

This hotel is centrally located. Walking distance to the Notre Dame Basilica,, jazz festival, restaurants and shops. Many modes of transportation right at your doorstep. The staff members are very friendly and helpful.

"3rd Tax"
Julie P, 29 Juin 2017

Still cannot get an answere why only Best Wester Montreal have changed us a 3rd tax whilst we have been traveling Canada. Would like a positive response to this question. Hotel very clean, staff very friendly.

"Great location"
carmen s, 27 Juin 2017

Walking distance to loads of places around the city and beds are super comfy and such a clean room. The hotel itself was very clean also we will definitely be going back and staying here for a few more days.

"Nicely located"
Kimberley H, 25 Juin 2017

Clean, conveniently located, decent breakfast. Parking a bit of a pain as you had to get staff to access your car. I thought it was a little costly for location and hotel but again really nice and clean.

"A pleasant hotel to stay at"
Philomena L, 22 Juin 2017

Our room was on the 4th floor and we had a view facing the street which was not so bad after all. Staff was very helpful. Location was good. We had a slight issue getting the TV to come on and staff was kind enough to come to the room to check on the issue; I figured later it was the control buttons that seem to stick.

"Brand New Hotel in downtown location, very comfortable and relaxing"
TIM B, 19 Juin 2017

Stayed at this new Hotel 5 nights while in town for F1 Race. Very clean and modern with nice professional English speaking staff who were always neatly dressed and available for assistance. Breakfast was fully stocked and several hot and cold items available. Did not drive, so not certain about valet parking, however staff members were seen delivering guests vehicles to them out front. Hotel is about 4 to 5 blocks from Metro stations and there were good restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay again.

"Great location "
Keel79, 09 Juin 2017

Myself and partner stayed here for 2 nights on our whistle stop tour of Eastern Canada. Could not fault the hotel at all. The beds here are the comfiest beds I've EVER slept in. I did not want to get out but the city called. We had a car and they parked it away for us for the 2 nights. Breakfast was more than adequate. Great selection of pastries, bagels, waffles and pancakes. Plus the egg, bacon, sausage section. Staff at breakfast were so friendly, especially when they over heard my comment about the coffee being weak. She whisked it away and next minute I have a triple shot latte from a different machine in front of me. Great location surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants. Would stay here again

"Worst Western Plus Hotel Montreal"
Jonah Grace L, 07 Juin 2017

This hotel has the worst customer service in person and on the phone ever! My coworker arrived at this particular hotel location (remember Sainte Catherine Est) to find out that the booking was done in the wrong location, instead of accommodating an out-of-towner, he was charged for two nights! I called to rectify this and the guy on the other line was by far the most arrogant, rude and obnoxious person I have ever spoken to.

"Clean and central"
K661XAjane, 07 Juin 2017

Clean and easy to access hotel. Friendly staff. Nice beds and ok size of room. From here you easily access the rest of Montreal. The breakfast was ok but not more, just like a Holliday Inn Express hotel

"All good, but the breakfast"
ZigmundP, 05 Juin 2017

I liked all about this hotel - good location, friendly staff, quite large and very comfortable room. All looks brand new! But the food... Maybe im spoiled european, but that was so weird for me to get the food on a paper dishes with plastic fork... and the choice of what you can get for the breakfast is close to nothing. Even theres not enough space where to sit if there are many guests staying at hotel. Concluding: great to stay - recommended. Avoid breakfast - better take it somewhere within 5-10 minutes of walking.

"Nice, centrally located property"
YVRcockroach, 04 Juin 2017

This is a new (or newly converted) hotel in a nicely-located part of Montréal within walking distance of many places (old town, China town, Mont Royal plateau, VSM, etc). Rooms are spacious enough and bathrooms are nice, other than shower doors being heavy and not having a large enough handle to pull open. Nicer than most chain hotels (not that BWs are really chains) let alone BWs in N. America. The breakfast room can get crowded at times. Typical institutional free breakfast but it does the job. Hot selections are rotated every day. There is a coffee machine making fresh-ground coffee at your disposal in the lobby along with a selection of teas, none in the room. There's only one elevator but fortunately it isn't a hydraulic one and is fairly fast. Forntunately Ste Catherine isn't a particularly busy street in this part so noise (at least for upper floors) isn't that much of an issue.

"Amazing experience, like home! Great staff!"
eliz_yim91, 04 Juin 2017

I love this hotel. Very comfortable, great decor, and staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I came here for the first time in January and absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. I could have stayed here like it was home. The rooms look very modern and clean. Breakfast was delicious, lots of good choices. Location was very convenient, close to restaurants, shopping areas, and public transit. I would definitely go here again.

"very good hotel"
Alex_blo, 29 Mai 2017

Everything was great. Very clean and modern rooms. They have very good breakfast, don't miss it. Perfect location - 15 min walk to the old town. There is only one thing that we were surprised about - parking was expensive (25$ per night).

"Very helpful staff!"
Lewis D, 26 Mai 2017

This is a very clean and nice hotel right down town Montreal. All of the staff that we interacted with was very helpful. We requested a cab that could give us a tour of the city and then deliver us to our cruise ship the morning we checked out and they had him waiting for us when we came down to check out.

"Outstanding Hotel"
stevenaM6102YV, 25 Mai 2017

This was the nicest Best Western we have ever stayed at. Excellent location and service. We highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Montreal. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly as well! And they offer parking!

"Clean, friendly, awesome!"
UKM12, 22 Mai 2017

Right in the middle of downtown Montreal. Valet parking for $25 per day. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast; both choice and quality. Good wifi for free! Vending machines but currently no restaurant however in walking distance of many eateries. Room very nice. New, double glazed, large rooms. Clean, new, modern. Cable tv. Bathrooms large with double width shower. Very good!

very nice location, near to walking distance of church, Front desk staff is very helpful, and understand the needs of individual guests, and they help to understand how and where we can go and walk in the city, and explain all the city and local sites. they also suggested local restaurants and shopping sites and malls, and explains how to prioritise locations.

"Great hotel"
meikyosmom2017, 11 Mai 2017

Extremely satisfied with out 5 night stay. Location close to metro, bus #55, Chinatown 5 minute walk away and Old Montreal 10 minutes away. Right on St Catherine's, lots of restaurants in the area, too. Staff were all great. Professional, efficient and outstanding service with a smile. Free breakfast was a bonus! Variety of selection. Hot items were not freshly made to order, but better than nothing, right?! The Freshly grounded coffee machine in the lobby was icing on the cake!! Coffee is life and I thought I had to go to a cafe to get a great Americano or espresso, but nope! Fantastic machine that dispensed with a touch of a button high quality coffee! We were very happy with our room! Large TV with many English speaking channels, fridge, Keurig machine, large counter space in bathroom and showers had good water pressure and did not run out of hot water for long showers. Beddings were comfortable and thank you for 4 big fluffy pillows! I usually call to get more, but the ones provided sufficed. Also a safe in the room:) We also used the Fitness room. Pleasantly surprised at the size of it. Would be nice if free weights were added to the equipment. We had friends visit us during our stay and they wished they stayed at this Best Western as well. They booked across the river at Sandman Hotel and said it was no way close to ours. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone:)

"Great hotel, great staff"
Katherine A, 07 Mai 2017

Ever since I've discovered Best Western rewards I try to book best westerns - with mixed results as they are individually owned (Toronto location - ew). But the Best Western plus is like their 4 star and I would even rate this Montreal location higher. The rooms were gorgeous, new, well laid out & incredibly comfortable. The location is convenient. Parking is reasonable but we used to live in the area so if you look at the side streets - there's lots of free parking close by if you're willing to walk (Sherbrooke, sanguineous). The breakfast was great & fresh. Really enjoyed our stay & I'm looking to book again in the summer. Thanks!!

"Nice week-end stay at Best Western Plus Hotel, Montreal"
X2291HSkathleenc, 06 Mai 2017

The staff were pleasant and the room was comfortable and clean. The first morning of our stay, we were inconvenienced by a power outage. The staff worked hard to provide coffee and breakfast using their generator. Unfortunately the power outage was repeated on the second morning. Both power outages were scheduled by Hydro Quebec, but the hotel were not advised of the first one. The staff coped with the situation quite well but for the second power outage, they should have given the guests advanced notice, so that they could adjust their routines accordingly.

Had never stayed at Great western in Montreal before. We were very satisfied with the everything, the clean room, comfortable beds, service at the front desk and the room service as well. the complimentary breakfast was also veery good. All around great!

"Good Location and very friendly staff"
kimaU290UQ, 02 Mai 2017

Stayed for a weekend in April, 2017. Good Location, within walking distance to shopping and downtown attractions. The hotel and our room was very clean and staff were very helpful! Enjoyed the breakfast, I felt they had a nice selection of food to start your day! Price was very reasonable and I would definitely stay again.

"New nice downtown hotel "
Tal9673, 30 Avril 2017

Stayed there last weekend of April 2017. Hotel is new, room smelled great, staff was very friendly. Breakfast was average. The only thing that bothered me was a power cut off that happened twice during my stay. So forget about showering in the morning. Apparently they knew about it beforehand, if they did, they should have noticed the guests.

"Good location & value"
dr2222, 30 Avril 2017

Very good location--tons of sites you can walk to and conveniently located public transportation (many Metro and bus lines can be picked up nearby). Paid a pretty decent price for a nicely sized room with two beds, fridge, and flatscreen TV. Many of the other hotels I looked at for this trip were more expensive and did not offer complimentary breakfast, so Best Western Plus stood out as a cheaper option with that added amenity. Friendly staff and nice amenities (free WiFi in rooms, fitness center) were also a plus.

"Great Hotel Great Location"
H5212DUmartinm, 29 Avril 2017

This hotel is right on St. Catherine Street, right near Place Des Arts and many other live music/theatre venues. Fantastic location at a reasonable price. Easy to walk to many of Montreal's best sites including the Old Town and Mount Royal.

"Not bad. Good value"
specialk23, 27 Avril 2017

Compares well in room size and amenities to many 4 Star hotels in cbd that are old,and tired. Room is good size. Well appointed Fast internet. Everything was quite modern (again comparing to well rated 4 stars). Price was very cheap. around CAD 100. Breakfast was very basic but ok. Coffee was horrible. Pros - good size room and comfortable. - good internet - Location excellent. Close to main shopping St and metro. Minus - breakfast very limited. But just ok - a little noisy on street side. - hotel not equipped to handle masses at breakfast - area just a little dodgy at night. But ok - coffee in room and breakfast was awful For the price I'd return. Ive paid more for worse in cbd.

"Good value, great location and great room"
SDUinLondon, 27 Avril 2017

I chose the hotel for its location halfway along Rue St Catherine and I wasn't disappointed. Handy for the centre of the city shopping (Eaton Centre, Underground city etc) and handy for the art centres and gay village. My room was large clean and comfortable and the bed was great. Breakfast was included and there was a good choice (though the room was crowded due to a school party staying). Very happy overall.

"Chinatown Hotel"
Dyan P, 26 Avril 2017

This hotel is on the edge of Chinatown and not far from old Montreal but not a nice area. The menu is predominantly Asian as were the guests and all the decor. The hotel appeared tired and rather minimal amenities. We were able to park our car in their adjacent parking lot which was convenient but there is an additional fee.

"Short walking distance to everything"
Robert Z, 22 Avril 2017

10 min walk to old Montreal shopping area and the piers on the water front. Minutes from shopping till ya drop. 10 min walk to all restaurants in Chinese and Asian area. Two can have dinner for $25 in Asian and Chinese area for good Vietnamese or Chinese food. Room is small but modern and clean.

"Great location, helpful staff"
j_yesno, 21 Avril 2017

This compact hotel is in the heart of Montreal's entertainment district, and is within short blocks of the Place des Arts, Club Soda, Nouveau Monde Theatre, and FouFoune Electrique. So if you want to enjoy opera, legitimate theater, alternative rock, or other contempurary music headliners, this is a great place to stay. Sleep in their clean rooms and comfy beds and enjoy a delicious breakfast. The staff are friendly and helpfful.

"Great place and location"
Y7489FHchristiand, 19 Avril 2017

Great place and location, breakfast are good for what you pay for. It is 3 blocks away from one metro station and 4 from another. It's close to Complex Desjardins and an art gallery. Highly recommended.

"Great location minus a few details"
Lois K, 18 Avril 2017

Situated in the heart of Montreal close to art centres, restaurants and shopping, this hotel has great beds and coffee but entertains a few glitches as well. The room I had had the vanity too high for a comfortable reach, no overhead light meant tricky task work and the in room coffee lacked 'caffeinated' coffee. The staff were impeccably dressed but not overly friendly. The self-serve breakfast was typical in choices but the breakfast centre itself was poorly organized causing people to cross over each other for items. My room service person did not speak English or French and indicated to me she couldn't. My complaint to the front desk remedied this situation.

"Excellent service and very clean room in heart of Montreal"
Georgina M, 17 Avril 2017

Great service and clean modern room. Walking distance to shops, bars and historical monuments. Staff were extremely helpful and professional. Good variety of items for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!

"Very clean & comfortable hotel in good location"
seann871, 17 Avril 2017

Really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in downtown Montreal. The location was good, between Old Montreal and Downtown. The hotel was extremely clean and I really loved our room decor and luxurious bathroom. Having free breakfast included in our booking was really great. The staff were accommodating and helpful. Only complaint was that the bed was really soft (I sunk into it) and very short - I'm only 5"3 and if I was much taller my feet would have hung off the end! Also we were on the top floor (6th floor) and we could hear a lot of noise on the street during the night, but this didn't bother me (although it might bother some). Overall, it was a great place to stay and made our trip to Montreal all the more enjoyable!

"Trip saved by responsive staff"
mickeyjunkie, 13 Avril 2017

We spent two days here during a recent trip to see a show at Bell Centre and it is a very nice property. It's within walking distance to Old Montreal and the port. We even walked all the way to Bell Centre as it was a beautiful day and it offered us a chance to see downtown. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast decent with some hot options, the rooms were clean and the staff very pleasant. My only complaint was the heat/AC was set at 22.5 degrees Celsius (about 73 degrees Fahrenheit and I woke up in a sweat on the first night there. I tried to change the temp myself but it didn't work. I ended up calling the desk at about 1am and they were going to send someone up who never came. I called back and the desk attendant came up himself and did exactly what I did to no avail and I got literally no sleep that night. The next morning, the day manager came up to try to set it for me which didn't work. He explained that the temp was set on auto and any attempt to change it wasn't working. He had a call in to the company who was sending someone out for assistance. By the time we came back after our show it was set to my liking and that night's sleep was wonderful. I didn't give the hotel a 5/5 simply because I feel like the customer should be able to set their own temperature in their room and not have it automatically set for them but their concern and responsiveness to my distress definitely earned them 4/5. I would definitely recommend this property. I'd also like to point out that it's not clearly stated how to park here. It is valet and you have to get one of the two or three spots in front of the hotel to check in if coming by car. We had to circle the block twice and ended up parking at the end of the block to check in then move my car to the front but it was just a minor inconvenience.

"Hidden Gem "
MikeI283BL, 10 Avril 2017

Great visit to this Best Western Hotel. Prices were very fair for two nights. Parking only cost 50 CAD for two nights and located on the famous Saint Catherine street. Room has very fast internet, clean bathroom, Keurig that was generously stacked and large bed. Added bonus was the free breakfast that was plentiful.

"Quick restful getaway"
Sashad14, 08 Avril 2017

Road trip to Montréal with a friend. Location is fairly central to old Montréal, The Village, etc. It was a pleasant stay. Most staff were really helpful and kind. Decent breakfast. Valet parking is $25 per day as there is no other parking available. I would definitely return to this hotel.

"Very Nice, Reasonably Priced Accommodations"
tdavidclark, 07 Avril 2017

This is a nice, comfortable and new hotel. The staff is superb. The breakfast, workout area, and business center are excellent extras, especially at the price. The hotel is east of the downtown and north of the old port, so it is well located to see the city. Would definitely recommend and return.

"Wonderful Visit"
Thomas W, 02 Avril 2017

We really enjoyed the hotel. It was modern and felt pretty new. The bed was comfortable, the free breakfast was a bonus, very clean, great location and the staff were very friendly. We would stay here again without question.

"Would definitely stay again"

Went to see a hockey game and stayed here and would stay there again. Only 5 min walk to a metro. Hotel is clean and the rooms are well maintained. The continental breakfast still was one of the best I've ever had. Great selection of food.
