SFO El Rancho Inn, SureStay Collection by Best Western

I stayed here because I was flying out of San Francisco airport and didn't want my pickup to have to drive at night.It was cheaper than long term parking so wasn't needing a fancy place.The bathroom tile was straight out of the 50 s but in perfect condition.All the fixtures were old style but again worked like they were just installed.Great beds with fluffy pillows and heaters were quick and efficient.I went to the free breakfast which is in its own building and 3 different types of real homemade scrambled eggs,bacon,sausage,potatoes.unreal for the cost of room.old style park in front of your room parking and 2.7 miles from airport.It was nice to not do late night drive home after long plane ride.I will be doing this again

Horrible room. Tiny bathroom with shower little pressure. Noise and slamming doors all night until 200 AM. Hotel Shoul be closed or perhaps used as a homeless shelter. I would hate to even allow them to stay there

We booked this because it was close to the airport which made it easier to get to at the end of our stay but as we were visiting downtown San Francisco it probably would have been better to stay closer to downtown. We took local transit and it was quite a chore to figure out and it takes about 90 minutes to downtown. Between the Bart and the Muni it cost a lot in transit fees. The hotel itself is not too bad would have liked a microwave but there was one in the breakfast. It was great to have our bags checked at the front counter before we checked in. Checking in was easy enough. While we didn't use the hot tub or pool the hot tub was a bit green looking. I appreciated the fitness room which is a good size- was a bonus for me. It only had one treadmill but as I was the only one using it , it was not a problem. We stayed two nights and there wasn't a lot of trains the first night but more the second night and the trains have their horns blowing quite loud. They also did not clean our room - which is alright but had to get some more dry towels at the front desk. There are not a lot of good food places within walking distance other than kfc and McDonald's, or Safeway but the Paris baguette had really good sandwiches and there is a Starbucks close by. I thought the hotel had dinner but it is only the breakfast. The breakfast is quite good with lots of hot options but no cereals other than instant oatmeal. The parking is expensive at $15 a day so it was good we turned in our rental beforehand. We were on the second floor and the elevator was out of order so be prepared to haul them up the stairs. The room itself was quite clean with separate toilet/shower area. The hotel no longer has a shuttle to the airport, but it was easy to find the bus to the airport. An average hotel but for our purposes we would not stay there again.

I am very happy to leave a review for this lovely motel. I actually have a relationship with The El Rancho that dates back 50 years. I had my wedding reception here. It is a Millbrae jewel. The room I stayed in was a beauty. I couldn't have been happier with it. The room was spotless and well-appointed. I especially loved the retro bathroom. What a nice surprise. The room was well-insulated (as I heard no noise from adjoining rooms) so I was able to really relax and get a much-needed good night's rest. The atmosphere is pleasant and the area quiet in the evening. And it felt very safe. There are lots of businesses nearby so you don't have to go far to pick up whatever items you may need. They provide guests with a very nice complimentary buffet breakfast which was delicious. The staff is extremely accommodating and made me feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this charming motel without hesitation to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe and enjoyable stay. I am pleased to say I look forward to returning to The El Rancho Inn Millbrae very soon.

This is a lovely inn that we have stayed in over the past few decades. The restaurant is no longer a full service restaurant and breakfast is just a buffet these days. The mermaid pool is now just a pool, but given the current climate, that's understandable.

Very nice ladies at check in. But this place has been trashed. I never complain but first room I entered was like getting hit in the face with an ashtray. I'm a healthcare worker and can't get smell like smoke, and I'm confident I would have had an asthma attack sleeping in that room. I was also told I would have a microwave in my room which was untrue. I'd have to walk all the way to the front office for the microwave room. I travel for work and don't like to eat out so this is a massive inconvenience.

Arriving at SFO after a long day of travel, my wife and I were looking for dinner and a good night's sleep before driving home. We found this nice Best Western a short drive away. The room was nicely furnished, warm and quiet. Breakfast was good too.

Non-smoking room was smelling for smoke, WiFi extremely slow (this is evaluation is made via hotspot as WiFi is so slow), a train is going directly beside the hotel and is horning several times per track very loud and long, the bathroom is tiny incl very bad smell, fitness room is also very badly equipped, benches do not even have polstering and the pool is way more tiny and less nice than it appears at the official nice pictures. Only positive thing was closeness to airport and very friendly receptionists.

Great location. Clean, spacious room. Large and inviting breakfast area. Delicious hot breakfast. Polite, attentive staff. Close to SFO airport, San Francisco and the Coast. Excellent value. We will be back.

This is a Best Western, although there's very little signage that says so. We found the hotel clean and well-apointed, and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet. You should know that the hotel is close to train tracks and we did hear (and see) trains moving during the afternoon. I didn't notice the noise at night, however. Also, surprise! There is a $15 charge per day to park your car. Really - that seems unnecessary.

PROS: Bed was super comfortable. There was No noise. Room and bathroom were Very clean. Water was Nice and hot. A/C cooled the room quickly. Breakfast was amazing with a Lovely dining area. Polite and happy staff at check in and out. Lots of room to park. Internet was fast. CONS: No good place to plug our phones in to charge after a long trip. Older room/hotel so outlets are hidden and the one on the lamp was too loose to use. Rug was moist, guessing due to outside humidity. Couldn't find a good map for vending machines and walked but only found soda machine no snacks. WE ARE staying here again in October but bringing our own extension cord with plugs.

I stayed in this inn for about a week and I was very satisfied with it. It may have very limited amenities, but it has a restaurant and a small swimming pool. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. But the real asset of the place is its staff, who were all very friendly and accommodating. The place is very close to the airport and to the BART station with trains that can take you easily to downtown San Francisco. There are also restaurants and shopping areas just outside the inn along El Camino Real. It's quite sad that I heard they're planning to shutdown the place to build a commercial residential building. I hope that plan won't push through.

I can understand how this place may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for a family of 4 looking for an affordable place to stay in SF for 3 nights (not easy to do!) this met our expectations. Yes, the hotel currently doesn't offer a shuttle to the airport, so it's not a true "airport hotel". Without a rental car we Ubered to SFO and tat was $25, which was cheaper than paying 3 nights parking. CalTrain trains do tend to blast their horns which would be a mjor issue if we were in the back buildings, but having a room in the middle 300 building it wasn't too bad. The pool and hot tub were working, and the breakfast was free and really good. Not sure what the complaints are about a lack of food... unless you have mobility issues you're within 5 minutes of practically every Asian restaurant you can find, as well as Mexican, McDonalds, KFC, and a Safeway/Walgreens/Trader Joe's in a shopping plaza. We walked to and used the BART trains at Millbrae which is about a 20-minute walk, and we never felt unsafe or out of place during our daytime walks. The neighborhood (other than the trains or the planes taking off) was relatively quiet. Oh the hotel! Our room met our expectations-- we had a 2-bedroom suite and it reminded me of an older apartment. It was clean though, everything worked, and the room was very large. The kitchenette was stocked with dishes and utensils and had a working fridge and microwave. Everyone had their space and enjoyed unwinding after a day visiting the city. So I can't compare to what the place was like 5-10-30 years ago, but we had a good time here.

Stayed here overnight to fly out in the morning. Although it is an airport hotel, there was no airport shuttle and the restaurant on site was closed except for breakfast. This means you have to walk to limited options for food. The remote for my tv was not working well and the bathroom was not very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the lack of transportation was really a hassle.

I arrived on a Friday night. The website offers airport shuttle service yet when I arrived I was told that they no longer offer shuttle service! I was hungry and tired. But both the bar and restaurant, which I used to enjoy, is no longer open. The room rates have gone up considerably and yet no amenities are available. I definitely wouldn't recommend using this hotel for a park and fly.

Worst hotel we've ever stayed at. The room has major mildew and gave me a migraine. The carpet is old and filthy. The shower turned scolding hot, then ice cold, and a few seconds of warm in between. It took 20 minutes to rinse off. Our room was on the second floor above the hotel garbage area, and a loud generator or fan. The pillows are old and misshapen. Parking is $15 per night and the parking lots are huge. The restaurant and bar were closed. The entire place...over 200 rooms is super run down. Oh, the iron coating came off when I ironed my shirt. Luckily, I put a paper towel over the shirt while ironing. Wouldn't stay there again for free. We would have asked to change rooms, but it was late and we were tired from a long flight, and honestly....all the rooms may be just as bad.

I am oils recommend. Wonderful friendly staff. Convenient location. Near BART CalTran and bus. Quick ride to the airport. So close to so many things to do in San Fran. Super close to nearby beaches. Nice included breakfast. Rooms clean and well mainaned.

Every experience at the Best Western El Rancho Inn and Suites was Exceptional. We were greeted with a friendly smile upon arrival, An exceptional room, nicely appointed with everything we needed and the MOST comfortable Bed we have ever slept in. The Staff at the Hotel addressed all our needs with a welcome smile and immediate attention. The Breakfast was Exceptional and the Exercise room offered a nice selection of work out options. The property also has a nice pool.

hotel is nicely located but needs alot of updating; very "tired"; restaurant is closed very noisy - can hear people next door exterior entrance, so not as secure as interior hallways are $10 charge for parking seems unnecessary

We booked a room at El Rancho at the last minute since we had an overnight layover in San Francisco airport. We were hoping to get a hotel shuttle from and to the airport only to find out that shuttle services were discontinued since Covid. So, we took a taxi instead which costs $20 both ways. Check in was quick. If you don't have a car like us, be prepared to haul all your luggage and belongings through the hotel parking lot especially if your room is far from the lobby. Our room was behind the restaurant so we had a good walk with all our stuff. The room does need some updating although it was clean and comfy for an overnight stay. One suggestion is to please put an air freshener in the room to improve the smell. It wasn't too terrible but could be better. We definitely appreciated a wonderful shower and comfy bed before our next flight. We got to the hotel in the evening and we ventured out for dinner. There are many establishments nearby and we ended up going to a burger place. They did offer breakfast but we had to leave to the airport early in the morning. So, we were sad we missed out on that. Check out was quick. We asked the front desk clerk to call a taxi for us which came quickly. Overall, El Rancho was a good experience. Thank you!

We took a family trip right before Christmas. We did a Park n Fly with our stay at the tail end of our trip. Our cars were safe upon our return. Our rooms were spacious. The staff were very friendly and polite. We were most happy about the breakfast in the morning. It wasn't your standard hotel continental. The egg dish with spinach and mushrooms tasted homemade. The potatoes were delicious too. All around an excellent experience. The reason for 4 stars vs 5, the hotel could use some updating. However, everything appeared clean and tidy.

My Ohana enjoyed our stay at El Rancho Inn Signature Collection November 23 to the 25. Our very clean suite had two queen size beds, a pull out couch and a kitchenette. Our Ohana was able to make food, leis and nourish ourselves here feeling safe and comfortable. Mahalo Nui

Have been travelling a good amount lately to watch our daughter compete in rowing regattas in the US. Very happy with our 4 night stay, excellent attention to cleanliness in all areas, friendly and competent staff, lovely clean and safe grounds. Will certainly stay here again!

The room was a bit dated, and the rug looked like it could use changing, but service and breakfast was wonderful. Breakfast was good for a free breakfast. Scrambled eggs, Vegetable egg scramble, potatoes, bacon, and sausage. They also had yogurt, fruit, muffins, and toast. Also, although dated, the room was clean and warm (it was cold outside during our stay). And the water pressure in the shower was fantastic - probably even better than at home! Everyone at the hotel was really pleasant. Be warned that building 5 is close to the train tracks if you're a light sleeper.

Icky old motel. Train makes huge noise all day, uncomfortable bed and planes also create noise. I slept for 4 hours tops because of this. Can't imagine why anyone gives this property a good review! Gross!

This is a 700+ motel. Check in staff gets a failure on all counts. I told them I had surgery a few weeks ago and the put me in a room about 1 block from check in. Motel is all outdoors- if you are on foot, good luck. Housekeeping is great and breakfast very goofy. Our cab to motel was $9.80- staff booked us a 20$ flat rate return. We used this for an overnight prior to early flight to Singapore. Our room right by a Railroad crossing- ( See photo ). Ask for a room 109 or 200. Never again

We stayed at the hotel on 22 October 2022 because a connecting flight forced us to overnight in SFO. We didn't realize this “airport hotel” had no shuttle. Taking a taxi added some $50 to the hotel price. Upon arrival we ordered a taxi for the next morning. The following morning it became necessary to be at the airport earlier and we had to cancel the taxi. The unfriendly hotel clerk refused to call another taxi telling us to call Uber. After an unpleasant exchange of words, he finally called another taxi service. Such behavior is unacceptable.

This is my third year of choosing this hotel while going for a week in Hawaii. Rooms are very nice and clean and pleasant. Some have a separate room for the second bed, which is appreciated if bringing kids...El Rancho is less than 8- 10 minutes tops to SFO. They send a cab at whatever time you need to go to the airport, and if doing the stay and park package, it is comped. They have a breakfast from 6:30-9:30, and it is excellent. Big heated silver caterer trays with several kinds of egg omelettes, sausage, bacon, potatoes...everything! Really good! The staff is very friendly and helpful. It looks like there are dinner and drinks in the evenings, but I have never gotten there in time for that. My one thing I don't like because I am a senior citizen with arthritis, is that there are no elevators to the upper rooms. They do try to accommodate getting a ground floor for you, though. Restaurants in the Millbrae area are kind of absent, but this hotel has generally what you need. Millbrae the city itself is kind of a real nothing place, but if you are looking for a nice place to stay, a good breakfast, pleasant hotel surroundings, and a good location near to SFO, I would go here. Make sure you don't book through third party though-you won't get the deals they offer for park and stay. At least that was my experience. Nice hotel and I will be back. Reasonable room rates.

Nicely kept grounds. Our room was clean and comfortable. Great location near SFO and an easy drive to San Francisco. Excellent breakfast. Eggs were very delicious. Dining area staff were very attentive and keep everything full. Dining area was very clean. Other Staff we encountered were very courteous and nice. We only stayed one night but after seeing what a value this location is, we will be back. Possibly to use the Park and Fly package.

Excellent location for park and fly if you have an early flight out of SFO. Stayed twice - going and coming. Rooms are not all the same with upkeep. The first room was meh, the second room had obviously been renovated. Excellent breakfast. Wifi hit-and-miss. As of this writing, they're using uber to shuttle people to/from the airport, which really means drivers hang out in the parking lot and pick up guests as they walk out of their rooms. A little sus, but it works. The commuter train runs right by the hotel if you're a light sleeper.

We've stayed at this hotel in the past, and this visit did not disappoint. The room was very comfortable and the shower had plenty of power. The breakfast offering seemed more plentiful than our last visit, and there are many vending machines dotted around the complex. Our only gripe was the train, which blasted its horn continuously whilst passing, between 5am and 10pm on weekdays - definitely ask for a room away from this if you're a light sleeper.

Utilized the Park and Fly and stayed here the night before my flight out of SFO. The rooms were dated but clean, and a Continental Breakfast was available in the morning. Because of COVID they no longer offer shuttle service to the airport, but give a "taxi credit" for the ride there off the room rate which I thought reasonable. It didn't cost much more to stay overnight and leave my car, than parking long term at the airport. Well worth the piece of mind the morning of my flight.

Off,ice staff rude upon return from trip. Snnhocked we were not told no shuttle adding $40 to already overpriced hotel. We have been using this hotel for at least 20 years but this is the worst. Must have changed hands. Will not return.

This hotel has been around a long time, offering a park-fly package that is very convenience for travelers who want the convenience of driving themselves to the airport, and parking their car while they are away.

Great location for SFO, we spent 3 night here and found the staff helpful, the suite was clean. We had no noise issues, yes we could hear the trains during the day but no issues overnight. The breakfast was a great way to start the day. A fantastic base to visit San Francisco as you can either drive or use the BART to get into the city. We would use again when in the area. It was lovely having a separate living area. The kitchen is basic but it is great to have this space.

My room was never cleaned the three nights I stayed there. Did not receive clean towels. Remote on TV was hard to press to change channels. Toilet leaked constantly. The only thing that was goog was the wakeupN call was on time

On my second night of stay I was bitten a total of six times on my right shoulder and upper arm by bed bugs. The dime-sized welts have yet to fully heal after 5 days of recovery. On the second day I saw ants on the nightstand, bathtub and sink. The TV reception was poor the entire stay, and on the second day some of the stations simply were not available (CNBC etc). The room had no windows that could be opened to get fresh air and this explains why the room was very stuffy. I requested a quiet room and ended up about 100 feet from the train tracks and had the pleasure of hearing the blaring Caltrain horns every half hour until midnight. This was the worst Best Western motel stay I can remember in over 25 years of travel. I can no longer trust Best Western to provide safe and enjoyable accomodations in the future!

Pros: This property is very pretty and nicely appointed on the outside. The breakfast was comparable to a Hampton Inn, Warm eggs,bacon, sausage, etc. Now for the cons: Our room was way in the back. We could not park our car in front of the room. Since its a little sketchy in that area I was concerned. Thankfully, my car was there in the morning with its catalytic converter intact. The room was very musty smelling. I suspect some mildew in the carpeting. Beware of small print: This hotel used to have a shuttle service to the airport. In extremely tiny print at the bottom of one of their webpages it states "At this time, we are not offering airport shuttle services. For any questions, please contact us at 650-588-8500 or reservations@elranchoinn.com." Ok, I get it. Everyone has Help Wanted posters up post COVID. However, I was then charged for parking. Huh?? I rechecked my confirmation and no notation was made that parking would be additional. So by the time I paid for Uber and paid for overnight parking it would have been less expensive and less of a hassle to stay somewhere else. DISCLAIMER: I booked this hotel through Priceline. It was for the sole purpose of getting an elderly relative on a plane early in the morning.

We needed a hotel that was close to SFO airport and this place offered a fly and drive package, so we were able to park our car here while we were out of town for a few days. The room was a basic Best Western motel room, no big issues. I would add a hair dryer. Quiet good bed. And we were very close to the airport.

I left my son's Nike Shirt at the laundry room to pick up coins. when i was back, it was gone. i reported this to front desk. they were not able to help. it was disturbing. front desk is friendly, room facilities appear old, since i stayed int he hotel before, i know they the hardward has not been updated for a while. the theft did bother me.

Sizeable breakfast, great start to the day! During cleanup in the stairwell, staff left stairs very soapy and wet. No signage. Safety hazard. Fan in room non-operational. No batteries in fan remote. Tried pull switch, which did not work either. Overall, a good stay.

This place has ants, we found old salsa cups under the bed, the floor/carpet is nasty, the staff is rude, and the pool & hot tub area is filthy. There are ants all over this place. The first place we noticed was in our bathroom. They are also all over the pool area. The picture online are all super old so when you get here you'll see a rundown hotel. The staff is overbearing. We had trouble bringing back a plate of the continental breakfast to our room for my mom. It's also way farther out from the city center than I thought it was.

I found booking this hotel at other OTAs is much cheaper (about 20%) a few days after I had booked directly on best western. The front desk welcomed me, "Thanks for being a Best Western member!" However, it feels like, "Thanks for paying extra money for no reason!" The front desk was even trying to charge me an extra $10 per day for parking, but on my reservation, it clearly states free parking. They are just trying everything to cheat your money which they do not deserve. The so-called "signature collection" hotel is basically a typical motel with nothing fancy. I have no idea how they got that rate. And by the way, the hotel does not offer elevators. It didn't feel very good for me to be assigned to a 2nd floor with two super large luggage.

The El Rancho has been our go to hotel for 35+ years when using San Francisco Airport. On our most recent 1 night stay, our first room had no hot water in the sink or shower. The room we were subsequently moved to had an ant problem on the desk and night stands next to the bed. On the plus side though, a good hot buffet breakfast was being served with scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns. Other options included muffins and toast plus assorted breakfast drinks in a pleasant dining area. Overall though, rooms are tired and need updating, especially the bathroom areas. Over the past few years, under new management, prices for car storage have increased and the airport shuttle, which we relied on for years, has closed down thanks to the pandemic, although a $30 credit is given for ride-sharing or taxi services to and from the airport..

I cannot recommend staying at this property. The rooms are tiny and dated, and my room was filthy and stank of mildew. The carpet was stained to the point that I did not want to walk on it in anything other than my shoes. I don't understand how this property has a four. 5+ star rating! I will never stay here again and will recommend to my corporate travel program that this hotel be removed from our booking system.

Hotel is well located in proximity to the airport. Not a lot of national chain restaurants in the area and no real advise on where to eat for local spots. Health Club was not open the the on site restaurant was only open for breakfast, which was not open with my very early departure for the airport. Rooms are neat but dated. Room needed a thorough dusting. Table tops and desk tops were fine, but legs and side structures were not clean and had not been cleaned in some time.

This property is conveniently located near by to the San Francisco International Airport. Quaint décor. Located on the El Camino Real allowing access to many restaurants and shopping. Easy freeway access to the neighboring freeways. Friendly staff and well maintained facility. One of our favorites when in town.

stayed one night, parked car 10 days, took UBER to SFO where cruise ship staff picked us up to go to pier. great deal! felt safe with car left in lot. Would suggest using Taxi vs Uber as hotel gives a 30 dollar credit as they no longer have shuttle. Uber was $50 which is a bit high, taxi fare coming back was $20.

We love staying over night at the El Rancho Inn just before an early flight. I especially like the fact that they let you leave your car for free. We have done this a number of times and find that the El Rancho is always dependable. They don't have a shuttle any longer so we had to use Lyft one way and taxis the other but they give you a small discount for that.

This place is a sprawling property that's heyday was probably in the 70's. It has that Motor Lodge feel. Our room was fairly spacious and comfortable, no real issues there, and the staff were all great. No issues there, either. The people we saw staying there were a mix of tourists, creepy construction guys who sit outside their rooms drinking and staring at young girls, and some Eastern European immigrants who stand outside their rooms talking to each other in shouting voices even though they're standing next to each other. There's also folks who like to lay on their car horns for extended periods. But the main issues are with the amenities. The complex is centered around what used to be a bar and restaurant. The website makes it sound like these were temporarily shut down due to the pandemic, but in talking to staff it doesn't sound like the case at all. Virtually everything in CA is open again, and mask wearing is sporadic, so if it was covid related then there's no reason they shouldn't be back open. The place was fully booked every night we were there, and it's a large place. That many people should be able to support at least the bar. They serve a free "grab and go" bagged breakfast that consists of a bottle of water, an apple, a muffin, and oatmeal you have to heat in the coffee maker in your room (there's fridges but no microwaves in rooms). There's also coffee available. As an alternative, there's a good breakfast place across the street and down half a block or so. And there's numerous other dining options of all varieties along El Camino Real Road. The other disappointments were the pool and hot tub. They're both small for this size of property. The hot tub accommodates maybe 4 comfortably and the pool is relatively small and not heated. It was too cold to swim on an 80 degree day. Another misleading thing is the airport shuttle, or lack thereof. It's also portrayed as temporary, but I was told it hasn't been available for 2 years. They lamented that it would cost $100,000 to restart it, but that they were trying to partner with a neighboring hotel. As such, if you need to get to the airport, Uber drivers are always in the area. Or in our case there were Russian guys in mystery vehicles in the parking lot at 4am trolling for customers. We ended up using one of them, but the whole time I was hoping they weren't going to rob and kill us. I watched every road sign to make sure he took the proper exits on the short drive to the airport. In retrospect, I should have just hailed an Uber. The other thing of note, there's a commuter rail line just off the property that toots its horn late into the night and early in the morning every time they approach the nearby at-grade crossing. You kind of learn to tune it out, but.... So I feel the hotel website is very deceitful in stating the closure of the bar and restaurant and lack of airport shuttle are temporary, because they're not, and they do a poor job of stating this on their website, instead saying some amenities "may" be closed due to the pandemic. While the room was decent, I would never stay here again. There's simply too many other better options in the area. They say this is a 3 diamond Best Western property. Maybe 5 or 10 years ago. Today, maybe 1 diamond. The place needs to stop living in the past and update its website to reflect the current realities.

“Due to Covid” was the reason for not having their usual airport shuttle, the usual breakfast (basic), etc. Unfortunately the price has continued to rise over the years for aging facilities too I've rated them much higher in numerous past stays, but for $250/night for the Park&Fly package (no AAA, Best Western discounts allowed) and getting less for the money (no microwave in the room either!)… hmmm.

Outdated hotel. No microwave. Brownbag costco breakfast. Dirty carpet. Smelly human smell pillows and sheets. Hair found on pillow and sink. Clogged sink. Nonworking electrical outlet. Internet is good

Room smells old and musty and is very noisy all night long. No shuttle and the one they called for us left us freezing at sfofor 45 mins. Time to tear this place down.Trains all night long. Have stayed here many times in the past.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. They offer a dependable secure place to park your car when you fly off on a trip from the local airport. They used to have a shuttle service that made it especially easy to get to the airport and back, but COVID has changed that availability. Now they discount you $30 on your room rate and arrange a taxi to pick you up. The rooms are clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Stayed here for 2 nights, mainly because it was so convenient to the airport. Rooms were just so so. They did allow us early check in which was a big help, as we needed to go to the airport to get the mandatory PCR test to fly out. Also, booked this hotel because it included a breakfast but unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of it either mornings, which was no fault of the hotel, so I can not comment on anything about the breaksfast.

The Best Western El Rancho Inn is my go to place when flying out of SFO. Always a caring, helpful staff, and they've done an excellent job in these tough Covid years. Your car stays right on the property - no need to leave your keys with the Inn. Clean.

Large property in a pretty good location close to the SFO airport. That being said, you hear planes overhead even late at night. Decent size room, outdated furnishings, but clean. Water pressure/temperature a major problem both days. HVAC unit ran off and on all night with no option for "constant fan" while leaving the heat on like other HVAC units. Breakfast is a paper sack with instant oatmeal, a luke warm "egg bite", and apples with holes in them both days. No coffee available except terrible in room coffee. On both days, the older gentleman "serving" the paper sacks in a small room had his mask on - around his chin. It's 2021, maybe put pots of coffee, decaf, hot water for tea in the lobby? Or better yet, have a breakfast room with a couple staff members serving breakfast like other BW properties?

I have done a TON of PARK& FLY stays here. Its always clean & reliable. No shuttle due to covid, so get an Uber (they booked me a cab & he wasn't wearing a mask)! I always feel confident leaving my car here. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy.

I stayed here several times since September, and you'd think they'd remember you. They will screw you around by charging your debit card up to 9 days after they release the hold on your funds. My plans changed and I needed to extend my stay another week. This place would not give the same rate as the previous week. Instead they charged me the premium rate because they were almost full that next week.

We stay at the El Rancho inn whenever we travel or need a getaway from everyday life and work! The staff is always friendly and helpful. The location is central to many places of interest and activities. The rooms are always clean and well stocked with amenities and supplies. We are always happy to return and welcomed each and every time.

Good value for park & fly but beware. Property is pretty old and commuter train runs behind the hotel & is quite noisy. Room was clean & bed was comfortable but they need to work on sound proofing. No dining or shuttle available at this time but they do give a $30 Uber credit for transportation to the airport.

We stayed the night to catch an early flight, great location just 2 miles from airport. The big cons were noise from jets and the trains that go by and worst of all the thin walls. Also, this is not a hotel it's a motel. I could hear someone talking around 2 AM in their room, and the heaters going on in others. When I was asleep I didn't hear any of it, but once awake it kept me up. We did leave our vehicle here for the week and everything was fine!!!

I have visited this hotel for 40 years, doing park and fly packages. This was my first visit since Covid began, and the value is no longer there - their bar and restaurant were closed, fitness center was closed but most of all the shuttle to the airport was not operating. They offer a $30 rebate for transportation to and from the airport but the actual cost was over $40. I used to look forward to getting food and taking it to my room if I wished, talking with the bartender etc but while the rooms have not changed, the price has not changed, the value has gone down for me.

Love this hotel when traveling via SFO and doing a 1 or 2 night stay. They have airport parking as well and are very close to the airport. Service is good. However their airport shuttle service was suspended this time due to Covid, so be sure to double check with them and arrange for an alternate if required.

Friendly and welcoming staff, Very clean room and wonderful bed. Located near the airport, however they do not have a shuttle to and from but arranged for a car service tp pick me up at 5am for a 6am flight

If you travel in 2021 - read this! Me and my wife visited this hotel in our trip in USA last week. When we looked for an hotel, we chose El Rancho specifically because of few things: 1) It's close to the airport SFO 2) It has a gym 3) It has a pool 4) The ad explicitly mentioned wonderful breakfast But when we arrived - we discovered that the gym and the pool are close, supposedly due to COVID-19. Instead of a wonderful breakfast, they just give you a bag with bottle of water, an apple and some small pie. It's important to mention that before we book it, we have seen 3 more hotels without breakfast, gym or pool which cost 50-80$ less, that are literally located on the same street - meaning, they are as close to the airport. So eventually we just pay more and got less Above all that, there are two more annoying disadvantages that I want to warn people: 1) There is no daily cleaning, again supposedly due to COVID-19 2) They have an ice machine located outside, that is accessible to anyone literally (not just hotel guests), that can come at day or night and take ice, which maybe wouldn't bother me, but one night - some car with a dark windows and really loud music (that we heard through closed windows), came in. Some man got out of the car filled a bag of ice and then ride out. Well in a city that is known for its high crime level - it was definitely unpleasant experience for hotel guests. And since he got in directly to the machine and then hot out, shows that it's not a first time and it's normal behavior.

Website advertise shuttle service to airport which was one of the key reasons for picking this hotel. When I arrived at airport called to get shuttle and was informed at this time that they did not have a shuttle. When I got to the room a paper notice also said they did not have a shuttle. Then after paying for a cab which I did not expect to pay.

I was surprised this was a "motel", but once I got over that fact, it was just great. Very convenient to the airport (1.3 miles) for our very early flight. Beds were great and it had a small coffee maker, fridge, and excellent powerful shower. All you need in a pass-through situation. TV was basic cable with lines running through it, but who cares - we were there to sleep.

The motel is a very large complex and we were placed in a room way in the back, next to the railroad tracks on the first floor. After a long-haul European flight, we needed a comfortable, quiet room and bed. The room was drab, the bed too soft (uncomfortable), only 2 pillows, room temperature impossible to regulate. Trains ran all night and blew whistles at the intersection that was very close. I wonder if the experience would have been different in a building closer to the front (not on the back boundary near the tracks). We were awake by 6:00 am and checked out early. On-the-go breakfast was a packaged danish, some unknown packaged item (not labeled), apple and very small bottle of water. We have stayed at other BW during covid and the very limited bag breakfasts were at least healthy. On a positive note the staff was responsive re: changing our room from the first floor (parking and car lights) to the third floor but in the same building way in the back. The staff also sent extra pillows immediately when requested. The water pressure and shower nozzle were good.

I have been staying at the El Rancho on and off for about 50 years, generally for business travel. There have been a great, great number of changes. The improvements and additions have been made for a more comfortable stay while maintaining some of the historical appearance. I have seen a number of disgruntled customer reviews. Yes, folks, there is no shuttle or hot breakfast due to Covid at this time, but this is reflected in the price of the room. The rooms have always been, and still are, quite clean. This trip was a pleasure trip with kids and they were able to use the pool which was clean and clear. The bottom of the hot tub looked like it might need a good bleaching or a new sealer as the gray staining is not attractive and gives the feeling of not being clean even though the chlorine was detectable. The hotel has a no pet policy which prevents the rooms from smelling like urine and the grounds spotless and enjoyable. I have my own dogs but a hotel is no place for them. I had no problem with wifi but possibly it was because the hotel wasn't full and the internet load was minimal which was an issue I had experienced in the past. Extra towels were requested from the front desk and they were delivered in a matter of minutes. I have never been met by an unfriendly employee. All have been kind and accommodating. I had asked for a few additions to the grab and go breakfasts as the kids didn't need all the included sugar products and they happily obliged with what was available. In the past, I had eaten at the restaurant but was not impressed so the loss of it isn't disturbing. I do miss the breakfast in the lounge though. Prior to Covid they had some amazing hot and cold selections. It will be nice to see it returned soon as well as the shuttles. Ravi is missed. Some of the guests seem to like to congregate outside their rooms to socialize into the late hours. I didn't call to complain, but it might be nice for a staff member to do a walk through on occasion just to encourage the loud guests to tone it down or gather inside their room. Some guests have early flights and sleeping is why they are there. The commute trains are noticeable from about 5 AM to just before midnight during the week. I hadn't noticed them on weekends. I'll be back very soon. Thank you for all the safety and cleaning measures taken and the hard work of the entire staff.

If you are driving to SFO a day before flight this is a great place for a short stay and park you car while you are gone. Rooms are small but clean. They cafe and shuttle service to airport. We also stay here for one night on return before long drive home

Booking agent did not inform me that extended parking was not included in the reservation cost. Front office staff did not honor booking agent's verbal guarantee of extended parking inclusion. There is no airport shuttle. Hotel located very close to railroad tracks. Bed was extremely uncomfortable.

This was a familiar community for us. Kind of a border town now with SFO very close. It has changed from an upper middle class suburb for people working in SF. Beyond the SF fog, but sunny and windy. Lots more poverty visable and street cleanliness being disregarded. A few local pubs exist. One excellent Italian restaurant. Lots of Asian food, Jimmy's on Broadway is best. Got my 200 words now. This place used to be great! Not anymore... no shuttle to and from the airport so you must spend anywhere from $20 to $40 for a ride each way after you park your car here. No more breakfast or cafe on site.

Clean and safe hotel. We are on vacation in Hawaii and our vehicle is in long term parking at the hotel. We were there for one night to fly out early the next day to SFO. The check-in was quick, hotel staff was friendly, and arranging transportation with a big family to the airport was also handled easily by the Hotel. Clean Room, small bathroom, but not a lot of noise, besides a train that goes by in the daytime every 10 minutes, but isn't annoying loud. We were satisfied with the grounds, and most other guests were Families, and contractors working in the area. It met our expectations.

Be sure to inquire as to whether the free shuttle to the airport is working if you're staying for the park, stay, and fly package. Despite the website and app advertising the shuttle and a man at the location a week prior to my reservation not disclosing to me that the shuttle was not working, I found out upon check in that I would need to fork out an additional $50 for an Uber and a taxi to get me to and from the airport.

Our family arrived at the hotel about two hours ahead of check in. The front desk was extremely accommodating and the hotel was very comfortable. The beds and pillows allow for a perfect night's sleep. If you want to sit outside, El Rancho Inn offers a beautiful setting surrounded with large palm trees. This hotel is worth your stay as it is completely charming. There are many restaurants that offer wide varieties of food choices. We wouldn't stay anywhere else following arrival or the night prior to departure. Thank you for such a wonderful hotel experience!

Nice hotel and good price. Too bad restaurant was not open. Do not stay in back near railroad tracks. Pool and hot tub were nice. Internet worked ok. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Although they did not offer breakfast they offered morning grab bags with snacks.

This is exactly what an airport motel should be. Comfortable, clean, spacious, and, most importantly, close by the airport. Granted, it is an elderly motel, and likely to be redeveloped soon, but for now, it offers more than fair value. Free parking, firm mattresses, and in-room coffee. One drawback is that it's advertised free breakfast and airport shuttle remain in pandemic lock-down. You don't come here for the shuttle, but the "grab and go" breakfast offering is pathetic, which is the only reason I didn't give it a higher rating. I would gladly stay here again, especially if I had a rental car to return at SFO.

Like almost every other hotel, the El Rancho is taking advantage of the COVID crisis to reduce all of it's services, without reducing the rates. Even with the lack of facilities and service currently being offered (as of June 2021) it's still a comfortable place to stay, relatively close to SFO airport. The hotel currently has no shuttle to SFO running, so you will need to take Uber or a taxi, as there is no other direct transportation link if you don't drive. There is ample parking on site if you do have a vehicle. The hotel is spread over a very, very wide area. Next door is a sister property, the 'suites', but the Inn itself is very large, although limited to just two storeys. It was actually 1/4 mile from the lobby to my room to walk. With one spectacular exception, the staff are very friendly and helpful and are really nice to deal with. One of them lets the side down on such an appalling level that you wonder if she's actually for real. Why anyone who clearly hates her job, hates speaking or dealing with guests or does all of her tasks with such contempt is even working in a hotel, you do have to wonder. Her comic value is wonderful. I hope everyone gets to encounter her staggering rudeness. It's a joy to behold. Rooms are small, but quaint. Tidy and clean, they are not exactly modern. Think rustic. Pine furniture that's seen better days and a little bit cramped. There's one easy chair in plaid upholstery, a work desk and some drawers, but not much room for anything else. There is a fridge located in the bathroom, but no microwave and nor are any available. Contrary to what the website states. There's a big flat screen TV and a surprising amount of closet space. The power sockets are limited and quite temperamental. All rooms a non smoking, but that may cause an issue in itself if your neighbors are smokers. Both of mine were and both of mine spent hours sitting outside my door/room smoking and indeed arguing. There is no house keeping at all. None. Since on check in there's enough soap, shampoo, tea and coffee, and cups for one person for one night, you'll need to go in search of the maid cart to get more supplies. You'll also only have one days worth of towels. If you need clean towels, they'll deliver them to your door, as they will with clean bedding. You have to make the bed up yourself if you ask for clean linens. Another solution if you have a long stay is to move rooms, but that's hardly convenient. The bathroom is split between a shower/toilet room and the vanity/sink in an alcove of the bedroom. Hot water pressure is good and the plungers work, but the shower curtain is hysterical. It's mesh!!!! Guess what happens? The water pours through the mesh curtain and floods the floor. What genius thought of a mesh shower curtain? Breakfast is supposed to be included in the rate, but they've closed the restaurant, so all you can get is a 'grab n go' bag each morning. Even the staff tell you not to bother with it. They're right. A soft, bruised apple, a granola bar, a small bottle of water and an everlasting pastry. That's it. The pictures of the fresh bananas on display in reception are just that: pictures. You'll never get one. The pool is also closed, but the patio is open for sitting close by. It's a shame, because the restaurant breakfast normally on offer sounds quite good. WIFI is the biggest let down of all. It's terrible. It's slow in the mornings and you will continually have to keep logging in over and over, but in the afternoon and evening, forget it. It doesn't work. I assume that's because there are too many people using it. One of the worst 'free' WIFI connections I've encountered in a long time. There's no indication as to when all the COVID cuts to service are going to be restored, despite all CA restrictions having been lifted a few weeks ago. Thus you really won't be getting value for money. It's a quaint hotel, with generally nice staff and you can easily access Burlingame and San Francisco, with Millbrae itself offering a lot of dining options.

INDOOR REGISTRATION! Why is that important? Well we just got back from vacation where we stayed at 5 different motels, hotels, Inns. 3 had indoor registration and were great places to stay. The 2 that had a small dirty window on the outside, should have been a warning,and bespoke volumes of the condition inside! Anyway, ..getting back to El Rancho, it is pretty, convenient, safe, helpful, and even kept my camera charger safe, (left in my room) till I was able to retrieve it on the way back. Had 'ToGo'breakfast bags, due to Covid. And overall was a great place to stay! I would have said wonderful, except that our welcome there on the 1st night was not the least bit welcoming! The night clerk, a heavy set woman whose name we did not get, was not the least bit personable or friendly and was rude to my husband, when he offered to go out and get the lic.# on our rental car, which we had not memorized. My husband & I looked at each other and wondered if we had made a mistake in booking there. When I made the reservation there, I mentioned we were getting in very late, bc our plane didn't land till 11pm, and we had to pick up our luggage and then pick up our rental car, then drive there. It was 1 am when we got there. After a whole day of traveling . 2 plane changes, no lunch and supper, the baggage claim, and car pick up, we were hoping for a friendly smile. Instead we were met with empty room and a bored woman. I don't know what her problem was (valid or invalid), but she needn't take it out on her guests!

Hidden gem where the astronaut movie The Right Stuff was filmed in the bar area. Only grab and go breakfast but it was not avoidable during COVID. Clean.Peeking in the breakfast area the menu looked wonderful. Be sure to talk to Vicki who is a wealth of historical info. That made the trip for me! She really cares and is interested in sharing her knowledge. They also have a service to leave your car and fly to another place. 18.00 taxi to airport. 8 blocks to BART train. Will return if the city wins the fight to preserve this landmark!!

Vicki and her manager, Rogers, made me a dream of a park and fly deal. My wife and I stay at El Rancho exclusively when we travel to SFO. We have always been satisfied with all aspects of this beautiful property, but this experience has been a dream come true. Vicki and Rogers represent the best of Best Western.

We have stayed at El Rancho Park N fly for over 30 years. It is like home for us, however due to Covid, the Restaurant is closed and shuttle service has stopped. It will be back at a top rating when they are back to normal.

Not as near to airport as it was advertised. Is about 3 miles and $52 cab ride. Great bed and older hotel, but well maintained. We would stay again. lots of food nearby. McDonald's was the worst in 49 states.

Review ****PLEASE READ**** On the day of May 1st, my family and I arrived at El Rancho Inn hotel with reservations. The desk clerk did not inform us of COVID-19 restrictions including changing the rooms every 3 days, Wi-Fi limitations, availability of breakfast through out stay until May 8th, 2021 the day we were checking out. We were informed at time of check out. Even though we booked our rooms in advance and received confirmation, there has been a lack in hospitality along with customer service. Throughout our stay, we've experience a discomfort as a whole. For example, my family and I worked remotely with difficulty and had to communicate with hotel's technical support which provided no assistance. Due to lack of technical assistance, I was forced to come up with my own accommodations. Also one of my family member developed psoriasis from a uncleaned sheet and also killed 2 spiders on the bed. DISGUSTING! At time of check out, I was informed by desk clerk regarding our stay. When informing lack of hospitality, the desk clerk informed us that due to COVID-19 restrictions, housekeeping and cleaning staff do not to clean the rooms however, the rooms are changed every three days. As if the disappointment in our accommodations were not enough, imagine my family and I in disgust during lack of health regulations during pandemic. Which also violated the health protocols for COVID. Nobody called or checked in. We attempted to call during our stay and phones were not picked up. After emailing the management, they did not seem to care about our experience and try to good in trying to keep their customers happy. When asked for type of compensation we were declined. Never got a follow up. Roger is one of the worst management for a hotel and should be fired. See attached image of the email. STAY AWAY FROM EL RANCHO INN. It's no where close to a best western, rather worst best. Would you stay at a place after an email like that?

We were there November 2019. We stayed a few nights as we were winding down from an amazing vacation before heading home. I say “memorable” because this is hands down the worst place we ever stayed at! We arrived late and were given a room all the way at the back, literally feet away from the railway track. The train siren blasted all night. Our room extremely smelly cover up perfume detergent smell and very dated. The small fridge all rusty. I am surprised this place is still allowed to be open!!! Breakfast was white cardboard junk food aside from a banana. I rarely write reviews... it had to be that bad. Shameful & not worthy of being a Best Western.

Clean, comfy, spacious one bedroom king suite that opened to parking lot. Fantastic shower. Quiet location but walls a bit thin--could hear others' music and talking early in the evening. Adequate parking. Walkable to eating & shopping options nearby. Quiet frig and older microwave. Nice sofa and love seat, 2 TVs, comfy bed, dining table with 4 chairs. Much storage and dresser space. Could easily stay there longer. Updated carpet. Restaurant was not open. BTW, a taxi to the airport will cost you $20.

My daughter had an early flight so we opted to stay here the night before. Friendly staff, rooms were clean and free parking. A terrific option if you are on a budget. There is no shuttle service during Covid so bake that into your plans.

We stayed at the El Rancho Inn for six nights for a visit to our kids in San Francisco. We had stayed there before on previous trips and were concerned about travelling during the Covid Virus situation. The hotel handled all phases of our stay professionaly and courteously. Anything that we needed at any time was arranged or delivered in very fast order. The staff was very helpful and made our stay very comfortable.

I had very low expectations of this hotel due to it being a low price, but was very impressed with it. Room was huge with a walled off bedroom. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Hotel was right next to the airport. I would stay again if I was flying out of SFO.

The only perk was parking included. No on-site restaurant or microwave. No housekeeping. One set of towels...you ha e to request and give the dirty ones. Inconvenient. It seems a lot of "residents" on site too.

We checked in at the lobby and we asked for help since we have a lot of luggage and the supervisor asked this guy Umar to help us but he said NO straight , i feel sorry to the supervisor since her staff is not professional and doesnt know what customer service is.

The location is great. Plenty of things around. Being close to the airport has its noise downside but it's bearable. Plenty of parking and no intrusions from staff. Very clean and at a decent price. Overall a good choice if you don't want to spend a lot of money to be close to San Francisco.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past. Very close to SFO and under $100 per night. This stay, things seem to have gone downhill somewhat. No airport shuttle at 10pm Monday night. Had to Uber to property. Loud activity in parking lot until very late. Carpet in room stained with odd smell. Very loud a/c cycling on and off all night. With all the hotel choices very nearby, this hotel needs up raise their standards to compete. I will stay elsewhere in the future.

This hotel was less than 10 minutes from SFO and 3 blocks or so from Caltrain. While not in a bad neighborhood, there were a lot of "comings and goings" in our initial neighboring room. The ground level room had parking spaces facing them so headlights would blare through the closed shutters. Neighboring room was loud and chaotic, so we asked to be moved. This was done without issue, however then I was charged extra. Front desk refunded it (the system charged me for a "room upgrade") Two days later, I was reviewing my bank account and noticed more charges-turns out I was refunded too much then charged again. I would have liked to be notified of the error since I was already suspicious of additional charges. Overall, the room was nice for what we needed-sleep. Was very motel-y and parking lot was loud. Also second room's tv looked like a baseball was thrown in it (completely shattered). Staff was friendly, however kept insisting I booked the room through a 3rd party site...No, I used my best western rewards account, but thanks for assuming? Probably will just stay in a hotel with interior hallways next time.

Was quite skeptical planning this trip in the midst of a pandemic and rising numbers in CA. Called around a few places and finally found solace with this location. Primarily for three reasons - 1. All rooms are quarantined 5d before check-in. They have 800+ rooms and manage the rotation really well. 2. All rooms have external entrance. So you are not really breathing in any stale lobby air. 3. Its not very far from the outdoor attractions in SFO. The rooms are pretty big - with the additional bed in kind of an adjacent room. Excellent value for money. Its very close to the main road, yet not noisy at all.

Only paid $75 so it met my expectations. It is a signature Best Western so maybe I was expecting more. Building is old and dated looking. Nothing exceptional or fancy. During covid expect pools/fitness/breakfast to be closed, but that's everywhere. They did give us a breakfast bag to go. Bad is no microwave in room.

The room was big and property clean. I was however skeptical on the cleaning of the room only because the writing pad was left from the previous guest and not switched out. Especially with covid-19 going on I pay even more attention to cleanliness. I known it wasnt thrown out because i could literally see the writing left like when you write to hard so that shows me that some things were missed. Luckily I did bring my own disinfecting spray and wipes.

Read the reviews on this property. It was huge disappointment! Stayed 2 nights end of June. Requested 2 queens suite but was placed in 1 king bed suite with old furnishings and stained carpets. After several minutes of rectifying the situation with front desktop. We were placed in old 2 queens suite with backed up sinks in bathroom and kitchen area. Bathroom sink was backed up with gunk and hairs. We immediately informed the front desk. The next morning we reminded them again of the problem and was assured it will be taken care of. We left the hotel at 10:00 am and returned to our room at 8:30pm, only to find the rooms has not been clean or clean towels. The sinks was till backed up! We were told the rooms will only be clean after we checked out and cleans towels will only be provided upon request! I would recommend to rethink about booking this property. A disgusting and horrible experience!

I came to town a day early and wanted to stay by san Fran airport waiting for family to arrive next day. I just wanted comfort, close to airport, pleasant environment. I got all the above at a reasonable price as well. Very nice Spanish Mission architecture and beautiful room with very nice decor, comfy bed, plantation shutters. I could not be happier except the Veranda Bar is closed during pandemic so no breakfast. Darn. Next tune. I would certainly stay again. Just minutes from airport-very convenient

It is hard to believe that you can find such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay just 5 minutes from SFO, but El Rancho is just that! Clean, comfortable, relaxing, great breakfast and warm welcoming staff, this oasis in the city is hard to beat!

This hotel has been consistent over the years, comfortable, clean, competent office staff and maintenance. Lost phone charger once and they found it and sent it to me. The dining in the cocktail lounge works for me too. Their 24 hour airport shuttle to SFO is very reliable with competent drivers.

Room was very clean and a great value for San Francisco. Stranded due in SF due to Corona Virus. Staff were very accommodating. Several places to eat in walking distance at affordable costs...McDonald's, A&W, KFC, as well as A Safe Way.

If you are a light sleeper you might be bothered by the noise coming from the nearby highway and railway tracks. But, this could be true to several other hotels in the area as well. If you can put this out of the equation, you may find the Best Western El Rancho Inn to be a delightful hotel. To me, it was very appealing. Let me start from pre arrival. The week I was visiting San Francisco hotel rates were sky high. Amanda at Best Western Central Reservations worked patiently to find a good flash-sale rate for me. It was not cheap but relatively good value. The next day, I called the property and Leslie was equally courteous and helpful in assigning the room type I requested. Both are praiseworthy customer service professionals. I hope the hotel will recognize their diligence. El Rancho Inn is built in a ground plus one motel style but has a high end colonial touch. It immediately gives you a homey and resort feel at the same time. If you are driving, you will find adequate parking. If you are not, the hotel has shuttle service to/from the airport every half hour. I used it several times and found it convenient. It stopped at a hotel or two on the way. The trip took about 20 minutes. The queen room assigned to me was on the second floor. The hotel has no elevator. I was aware of this in advance. It didn't matter any way as I didn't have a heavy bag. The room is spacious with areas to relax and work. It has a fridge and coffee making facilities. The closet space is adequate. Some of the TV stations were not tuning clearly. The bathroom was well appointed but could feel cold if the window is opened. Front desk staff were pleasant and check in and check out were done promptly and courteously. Upon arrival, I was recognized as a Gold Member and given a welcome bag containing bottled water and snacks. The hotel provided excellent complimentary breakfast. I have reviewed the Terrace Café separately. This may not be a perfect hotel but I found a lot to like about it. To me, the sum was greater than the parts and I can't avoid giving five stars to El Rancho Inn.

The sales manager, Vickie Herriott, was a pleasure to work with. She was in constant contact with me to ensure our large group was well taken care of. We had 91 high school students and staff stay at BW El Rancho Inn and they were able to accommodate all students with their chaperones in near by rooms and they were able to feed our large group of hungry teens. The whole staff did an excellent job!

I stayed here for my first visit to San Francisco. I found the free shuttle a bit difficult to use at first as there are 2 which go to different Best Western hotels so make sure you get on the one labelled Millbrae. They are less frequent and you need to use the courtesy phones in shuttle shelters outside the terminal doors to let them know you are waiting, arriving half hourly. The hotel does have a ranch feel to the layout. The rooms are a good size, clean with usual amenities. The terrace cafe bar is very welcoming with a small bar menu and slightly larger cafe menu. The food was good and reasonably priced. Overall the hotel is a bit out from the city centre. I used the shuttle bus to go to the airport and then the BART train to get in and out, not difficult. A great stay.

What you need, having had an eleven hour flight & two hours in immigration, is somewhere easy to find & close to the airport. And El Rancho is. Plenty of places to park, a simple but perfect room & a really comfy bed; a lovely bar with a fabulous barman & great food & a buffet style breakfast which hit the spot, made our first night in San Francisco, just glorious.

The staff is Amazing, the breakfast is wonderful, we had a nice dinner at the restaurant, the food was very good. Rooms are exceptional. I stay here when I take my son to UCSF medical center. They make a not so nice trip good!

Like your on vacation even while traveling for business. A Must stay while traveling to the Bay Area, in the heart of Silicon Valley. Keep doing your thing Best Western, serving up the most comprehensive stay in the Bay!

If you're flying in or out of San Francisco and need a place to stay near the airport, this hotel offers shuttle service, as well as a parking option for your car while you're away. We have stayed here many times and love the beds, cleanliness of the rooms, kind staff, and accessibility to stores and restaurants in the area. For example, when we were picked up from the airport this last trip, we were driven to the hotel straight to our room, handed our keys - to the room and to our car (it had been moved from the long term lot to the space in front of our room) and didn't have to check in again. I call that great service! We stay here every time we fly out of SF - highly recommended.

We stay at the El Rancho every time we have an early morning flight and we need to leave a car parked. The hotel is very well organized; the shuttle is on time to the minute; breakfast is good. The only negative: sometimes we have to wait a long time for the shuttle back to El Rancho.

November 12 - 15th 2019. I don't normally write reviews unless something is exceptionally great or incredibly bad. We returned home to a heavy work load but promised myself that I would follow through with my complaint because our stay was that BAD!! We booked our room online directly through Best Western, on October 20th, well in advance of our stay. Our flight had arrived in the later evening around 10 pm. Upon arriving at BW elRancho in San Francisco, we were assigned a room toward the very back end of the building. We walked through the dark parking lot to the very back by the exterior access only. Before we even put our card in the door, we were immediately greeted by the blaring horn of a train. OK we thought, maybe this train passes only once a night? Maybe, a few times per day?? Upon opening the door to our room, there was an overwhelmingly strong smell of heavily scented cleaner / air freshener, which NEVER dissipated even after our being there 3 nights!!! So I had 3 days of intense headaches, which I never suffer from because of the heavy intoxicating smell. On day 2 we went to the front desk to explain about the train ( which BTW passes CONSTANTLY... throughout the day & night is is clearly heard in our room... & the strong cover up smell). At that point I just wanted another room for my 2nd & 3rd night. We had not unpacked because the smell was so bad, we wanted out! We were in such disbelief, my husband google mapped the train track which we could easily see from our door & clearly hear in our room. Google map showed the train to be 50 feet away from our room!!! On our second day, after going to front desk, without any assistance offered, we returned to our room & turned on the TV. Not surprising.... Every channel had a very blurred image with snow. When we tried to still look at the show that we wanted to see... after about 15 minutes, the TV shut off on its own!!!! After my complaint to bestwestern, by phone on November 13th, I was told that the manager would contact me. I never saw or heard from him at all during our stay. I received a very generic, sorry... non impressive email, apparently from him on November 18th, after we had gone. The BW elRancho's accommodation is much more like a cheap motel. Furnishings are very outdated, TV non functional, the heavy cover up smell is of sleazy motels of years gone by, the desperation of having guests sleep right by the railway track & a breakfast that's ALL processed ( except for the bananas). *** BW ElRancho (room 720) sights, smells & sounds & no TV. We booked directly through Best Western & WAY OVERPAID. $ 605.91 /3nights = 201.97 per pm in USD funds for this terrible accomodation. We called Bestwestern after our first day when we saw that management was indifferent. We have a file number & followed up with 2 emails to best western customer relations & customer service, no acknowlegemnt or response from Best Western to this date, we are now in February.

I stayed one night at the El Rancho Inn as I had an early morning flight from SFO. Check-in was great and the staff was friendly. There was hot water for tea and coffee at the lobby which you can help yourself to. I also like that there was a basket of fruits at the lobby for guests. My room was next to the rubbish dump area so you will naturally hold your breath when you walk past it. Luckily my room did not smell of the rubbish but as another reviewed mentioned below, the fragrance in the room is strong. It did not bother me as much as it bothered her but I can imagine how awful it can be if you are sensitive to frangrance or chemicals. This may be a dealbreaker for those with sensitive noses. The room is spacious and definitely adequate for a one-night stay. However the shower area was not well-maintained - there was no light in the shower so I had to rely on the ambeince light in the bathroom (the shower had a frosted glass door), and the shower tub did not drain well so I was soon stepping in about an inch of water :( Breakfast was the worst part of my stay. I went to the restaurant at 8am and there were a number of guests but not too crowded so I could find a table easily. However the buffet style breakfast was awful - the scrambled eggs looked like it had been sitting there for hours, the sausages and patties looked stale and unappetizing, the yogurt all had sugar in them (why was there no plain yogurt?)... so unless you are used to eating toast and cereal and stale eggs and sausages, you would not like the breakfast here. I tried some of the eggs and had to throw the rest out, and walked across the road to the nearby Trader Joe's to get a fresher breakfast. There were also plenty of Starbucks and diners around - the Milbrae Pancake Houes was also right across the road, so you have plenty of other options! You just have to pay for them. Check-out was easy; the airport shuttle came up to my door and the friendly driver helped me with my bags. The shuttle takes about 30 minutes to get to / from SFO airport.

We stay here whenever we are flying out of SFO. So convenient. Terrific shuttle service all day and night long. Although an older property, it is well maintained. Good incentive promotions too. The staff works hard to ensure a pleasant stay.

The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. A great place for the family or for a business group, we had a group of 24. Airport shuttles, access to BART and CalTrans (public transportation), nearby shops and good food.

My experience at this hotel as been nothing less than excellent. The person I spoke to for my first reservation could not be more helpful and accommodating. It was actually because of my experience with Melissa, I chose this hotel. The entire staff was outstanding! The room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. The free breakfast was also pretty good.

Every time I think I've stayed at a unique Best Western property, I stay at one that seems to have them beat. This place was sprawling like a resort. It was nice that the airport shuttle picked you up right at your room. Restaurant on site offered complimentary breakfast with hot and cold options. There was also a bar and dining room for dinner. Clean and comfortable rooms. Lovely property and conveniently located to airport and San Francisco.

This hotel is a well-maintained neighborhood jewel. I loved the vintage inspired bathroom tile and the air travel pictures honoring its history. Our suite was nicely equipped with dining table, plates, glasses and eating utensils so we could relax and eat in if we wanted. There is also a cafe on site which is convenient. The beds and furnishings were comfortable and in good condition. Would I stay here in a return visit? Absolutely!

Very close to the airport. Hot breakfast daily with eggs, meats, fruits, juices, assorted bread etc. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the hot tub was warm. First time visit to the area and I would stay here again. Plenty of places to eat close by. Shopping is in the area. The train station into town is close. Shower had plenty of hot water. Not really any downsides except we did not have a microwave in our room. There is plane noise near by but it is not to bad and a train horn that goes by every so often.

Amazing we always come to the Ranch for our fun dates to the Bay Area. Clean rooms, awsome customer service here and great restaurant! Love the huge full breakfast too! Great rates also, keeps us coming back over and over.

This hotel has long been a favorite of Northern California travelers for a park/sleep/fly package. They have now priced themselves out of reach. They have shortened the parking days and raised the hotel rate ($330 for a 10 day trip). It is much cheaper to stay at another 3 star hotel and then find a cheap parking option ( all with free airport transportation). Total cost: Hotel $129 and parking $94.50. Savings over $100. I had been staying there for over 30 years. Bummer!

When flying overseas from SFO, we always stay here. Prices are great, rooms clean, and the people are very friendly. The shuttle starts very early, and they have a nice little restaurant on sits. We love this place!

We stayed here twice in December - first time for two days and the second time for four days. We found the staff to be so helpful and friendly - they couldn't do enough for us. Jessa, Jwobert, Angie & Roy were particularly helpful but all the staff were great. Rooms were clean and very well equipped, breakfast was high quality with lots of choice, plenty of free parking and a very nice reception area. Close to the airport with a bus service if needed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again.

We were supposed to get into SFO at 1:30 am. But due to maintenance issues, we didn't get in until 2 am. SFO took 40 from landing to get the first bag to the carousel. So we didn't get to this motel until 3:15. Not a fancy place, but we wanted something close to the airport to grab some quick shut eye. Free shuttle was nice. Last time, we rented a car then drove to the motel. This time, we used the shuttle to get to the motel then again to go back and rent that car after our stay to get down to Palo Alto. Complementary breakfast was a hearty “worker's” breakfast - scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, fruits and pastries.

El Rancho is in a good location close to the airport and within walking distance of restaurants and the Millbrae BART station. Clean, quiet, ok breakfast, good shuttle service to and from airport. If you want to go into San Francisco you can take the BART from the Millbrae station for half the price of BART from the airport station.

The carpet was dirty (I wore socks the whole time and looked at the bottom of them and they were dirty !) It had a nasty smell and the room needed a good cleaning, corners of bathroom and the whole area.

We always stay at El Rancho when we fly from SFO. Convenient, friendly. The restaurant and bar are enjoyable. They have specials every night. Leave your vehicle and then take the shuttle back from the airport when you return.

Front desk is disorganized. Staff lacks sense of hospitality or warmth. Even simple requests create turmoil. The shuttle service is OK for SFO travelers, but inflexible for visitors. For example, the Millbrae BART station is right on the way to the airport, but the shuttle will not either let guests off, nor pickup at Millbrae BART. If you aren't parking your vehicle here for an airline trip, this place is no bargain.

This Best Western has a great park and fly program. We were welcomed at sign in and told we were valued as a Best Western rewards member and received a gift bag with waters and snacks. It was very easy to fill out park and fly paperwork. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and quiet. We appreciated the on site restaurant for easy dining. The shuttle to airport runs often and the driver was polite, friendly and clean. We only waited a short time for our return pickup after we had called after our delayed flight at almost 1 am. Our car was parked at our new room when we returned for easy departure in the morning. So convenient!

For a quick overnight layover, El Rancho Inn has just the right amount of comfort at the right price. My wife, 6-month baby daughter and I spent two nights here as we were on the way to Europe. The beds and bathroom are clean, the heater is functioning perfectly and there's a free shuttle to the airport from the Inn's nearby Millbrae location. The staff is extremely helpful and they even helped us set up our baby's crib. There's a daily basic breakfast buffet and there's a nearby Trader Joe's where you can literally go to town shopping on snacks and groceries filling up your check-in baggage. At the price class of this Best Western property, there's of course a few things that they could upgrade. The furniture and TV are a little outdated and you need to carry cash to use any of the vending machines. That's just small stuff though that's not that important for a short stay. If you're looking for price, comfort and proximity to SFO, consider this place as an option.

The front desk staff were absolutely great! Kaitlyn at check in was helpful and very efficient. The bed was the most comfortable one I have ever slept in and the room was very clean! Rosa did a great job

The man at front desk when we checked in made us feel welcome and appreciated as BW Rewards Members. He explained the hours and location of the breakfast service, and drew on the map to show us how to find our room. Later I asked for some plastic cups and he sent housekeeping to deliver those to us in less that 5 minutes. As a Rewards member we received a welcome bag with waters and pretzels. Room was clean and well-prepared and I appreciate that there was a refrigerator. Shower pressure was great. The heater was quick and efficient. Overall it was a pleasant, romantic getaway and I liked the vintage travel posters for LA, San Francisco and Hawaii. We actually were staying locally to dine out at Bertolucci's and then go to a grandson's first birthday party in Burlingame next day so it allow us to split up the drive from Sonoma County. On our next flying vacation we may try the Park and Fly option. They have a shuttle available by reservation. Call, let them know when you need a pickup and they will pick you up outside your room door. Great during rainy season!

Very cosy place! Enjoyed our stay here. Very clean rooms, good services, breakfast included and wifi! Really recommend this place to stay. The shuttle to the airport is a great service and being able to park while away is great.

Our go-to Park/Sleep/Fly for SFO. Always clean, comfortable beds, nice linens, and friendly staff. They make it inexpensive and convenient to leave our car while we travel. The shuttle runs on-time and makes it very easy to get back and forth from airport.

Stayed with my partner in November for 2 nights before going to Sacramento. Jessa and Angie are wonderful. Service with a smile. Felt welcomed. They are very friendly and accommodating. While i was checking in, a customer came in who was late for her shuttle appointment. Jessa and Angie went above and beyond to assist the customer. The check in process was very quick and easy. The room was clean and as advertised. Everything you need are provided in the room. Breakfast is amazing!!! Parking is free. There is a shuttle to the airport. Not sure if this is free as we hired a car. We will stay here again.

We stayed at El Rancho Inn in November 2019. The hotel was built in the 1940s, but is in great condition. The room was small, but was clean & comfortable. It's very close to the airport, about 10 minutes by shuttle, and not too noisy considering the proximity to the airport. Check-in was quick and efficient, and we received clear written instructions on their Park & Fly Program, e.g. parking your vehicle, breakfast, shuttle pickup, etc.They have a decent restaurant, the Terrace Cafe, on site. Our experience with previous stays at ParkSleepFly hotels, is that usually it's not easy finding a good place to have dinner. We had an early flight & did not partake of their breakfast, so I cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast included in the ParkSleepFly package. Apparently, they have repeat customers, as when we returned one of the couples on the shuttle, returning from Japan, stated that they had been staying at this hotel for the past 40 years. Our only complaint is that on our return we waited for the shuttle for about 40 minutes; additionally, we weren't keen on having to leave our car key with the hotel. But, overall, I would say this is a good ParkSleepFly hotel for SFO.

I will not be staying at this facility. I spoke with manager, Rogers Bacon, he told me the receipt I received was not my final receipt, On my receipt, it appeared that it iwas totaled. The manager proceeded to tell me I took my vacation at the wrong time, as there was a large convention in SF, the rooms were more expensive at this time and the parking charges are always added separately. This was not explained and was not clear on the receipt. My family has stayed at this facility many times over the last 10 years and have been loyal customers . I am very disappointed in the explanations given concerning my bill. I felt my credit card was additionally charged without my authorization. In the future, these charges should be fully explained and the receipt should clearly state the expenses. The current management have devised a scheme to overcharge customers unknowingly.

Everything was great for staying at a hotel. The rooms were large and clean. It was a great place to gather the family together . We will definitely use this hotel the next time we meet in that town. But, it did make us want to stay at other Best Western Hotels.

The booking service that booked the room for me lied and told me I had parking, which I reauested. I requested parking for six days, but the hotel told me I did not have parking. But when I made the hotel reservations with GETAROOM, and I insisted THREE TIMES that I wanted parking, I was assuted I had it. Turns out I only had ONE day of parking--that is the hotel policy. The desk personnel told me they have had trouble with GETAROOM before. My question then is "Why does the hotel continue top use this so-called service?

Late night and early morning arrivals should call from the hotel shuttle courtesy phone for a ride. Access to rooms is outdoors so if it's raining, you'll get wet. Unfortunately, my room was the absolute farthest from the lobby and closest to the train tracks. Buffet breakfast offered minimum selections. (The TV did not work). I fly frequently to SFO but may not stay here again unless the price is much lower than other hotels near the airport

We were not able to stay after getting into sfo.. Hotel would not work with us. I recommend staying elsewhere, The hotel is old and under new management who do not value their employees, This used to be a great place to stay for people flying in and out of sfo. NOT ANYMORE! Will recommend to everyone do not stay here!

The staff could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Room was very clean, bed extremely comfortable the small fridge was a welcome extra. The on site restaurant had a slightly limited menu but the quality of the food more than made up for that. Would recommend to anyone arriving at SFP airport before moving on.

The family suite was very roomy with 3 Queen size beds in 2 bedrooms and a pull out couch in family room. Full size kitchen and dining room. Decor is a little dated but place is clean & everything worked well. TV's in both rooms and family room. We had 4 adults and 2 kids but the place could have comfortably served more.

We arrived late and tired after a fabulous day in Chinatown. The woman behind the desk readily changed our room when we changed from upstairs ( I'd asked for quieter) to down (less distance to haul the bags). Turned out we didn't need to worry about the bags because, when the porter had not arrived in the two minutes it took to check in, the man in the office grabbed the shuttle van and took us over himself. He enthusiastically took the bags in, verified that our keys worked, and ducked out before we could even think he was looking for a tip. At the restaurant, we were cheerfully greeted at the door, served a quick, lovely meal (try the salmon), and out in perhaps a half hour. The room was co an and comfortable. (Other reviewers are right, the train does sound loud and close.). However, great hotel experience - just what we needed.

Do not agree to upgrading room, They put us in a suite that is larger BUT is a dump (#701) Extremly dirty and dated, This is way below any Best Western standards I have ever expierenced, We will never stay at this site again

Stayed here during an overnight layover at SFO. The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from the airport. They do offer free pick up and drop off shuttle service. We used it on the return to SFO. The hotel is nice. Very clean rooms, Decent beds, linens and towels. It is your typical motel style room. But everything was much nicer than the last place we stayed. The staff was nice and welcoming and check in and check out was easy.

The El Rancho Inn is one of those places you might ignore because it's in Millbrae, not SF. In reality, this is a great location as a base or for a sleep,park, fly before or after your trip. The rooms do have older tile as other reviewers have mentioned, but it's clean, super clean and in good condition. I love the retro look. Beds are comfortable and everything works or they fix it right away. Staff are, for the most part, attentive and friendly. Best of all you can shuttle for free to and from the airport and get a good night sleep. During my most recent stay I was soured by the rudeness of the AM shuttle driver. However, on my return Junior was the driver and he is the best. Helped with my bags, explained the process and was flexible and kind. Love that Junior! I intend to return and hope you like the place too. My only caveat would be that if you are sensitive to noise, the train does run right by the hotel and it can be loud. I didn't find it troublesome but some might.

Initial experience was decent. Room ok, restaurant dinner fine, shuttle to airport a bit slow but fine. Pick up from airport also a little slow but fine. We left the keys to the car with them, because they move cars to an offsite lot and back. When we got back to the hotel, and they drove us to where they had moved the car, the bus driver noted obvious, fresh damage to the left rear (patches of paint removed, possibly all the way to metal). After a wait, they photographed the damage, we filled out a form, and were on our way with a promise that someone would call. The call came AFTER MIDNIGHT and was a rude guy saying that because there were already scratches on the other side of the car they bore no responsibility for this obvious, new and much worse damage. Do not trust them; they will weasel out on you any way they can.

Whenever we need to drive to SF and need to leave our car, we use the El Rancho Inn. I stayed on Oct.1, left my car there, and returned on Oct. 11. Like a well oiled machine, everything went smoothly. The shuttles leave every 1/2 hour to drive to the airport. Upon my return on the 11th, my car was parked near my room by the time the shuttle returned from the airport. All staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, but could use some serious upgrades. It would be sad to see this beautiful jewel fade away.

I stayed the night before my flight out of San Francisco. Left my car there while on my trip. Everything went smoothly. Got picked up right in front of my room, right on time. The room was comfortable, hot breakfast included. Pick up upon my return was good. The shuttle came fairly promptly, and dropped me off very close to my car. I would stay here again.

This hotel is in need of a serious update and thorough cleaning. Our room was located near the back #724 and it was extremely loud with the tram system/railway right behind the hotel. The hotel room was smelly like rotten eggs and dirty gym socks. I'm glad we only stayed here for one night to catch a early flight. The only good thing about this hotel is its proximity to the airport.

My stay at El Rancho Inn was definitely something to remember-- from the kind & helpful staff (Thank you, Jwobert), the decently sized & very clean room, to the filling breakfast in the morning. If you nees a hotel with shuttle services to SFO, definitely consider El Rancho Inn. Hope to stay here again!

ideal place to calm down and relax after a transatlantic flight. only 10 min. from the airport, quiet rooms, free parking, friendly staff. the rooms are not the newest but they are doing their best to keep them clean.

Stayed here for two nights after arriving into San Francisco, room was v comfortable and in a quiet part of the complex, 2 double beds which appears to be standard. We used this as a base for a days sightseeing, it was about a 20 minute walk to the Bart station , there were restaurants and shops within walking distance. The hotel bar was v good , the barman was attentive and v polite. Breakfast buffet was v good with a reasonable selection

Whilst our 2 bedroom unit was in bad need of updating (especially carpet), our beds were comfortable and the unit was spacious and clean. We had a lounge, kitchen with full facilities and dining area along with 2 bedrooms (1 bathroom). The train noise was horrendous the first night but then seemed tolerable the other nights. Parking is free, pool and spa great and handy to many restaurants. We used Lyft to get to downtown which took just under an hour at 8.52 am so we struck traffic and cost $39.27($32 on the way home at 3pm) then used our rental car for the remainder of our stay. If you don't like stairs or are unable to carry your bags up a few flights of stairs ask for a ground floor room, we were fine however. We were thankful for washing machines and dryers that were available in our block of units which you need quarters for ($2 from memory for washer & $1.25 for dryer). Overall you can't complain for what they have and the value for money.(free breakfast available but we didn't use)

We have just stayed here for a week on a fam trip to SFO prior to relocating. We had an amazing stay in this property that has a great central location. The suite was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well serviced everyday. A BIG thank you to Helen and Julie from the reception team. They were so helpful and friendly with my many requests throughout our stay. Highly recommended.

The El Rancho is very convenient when traveling through the San Francisco airport and has a well coordinated shuttle system. However recently it has eliminated the breakfast menu at its restaurant, replacing it with a buffet with a couple of hot dishes but mostly cereal, fruit, and bakery items. A step down in our opinion. Also the Park n Fly rate now includes fewer days of parking than it did previously. Another change reducing the value. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the free wifi works. So if you need a place to crash for a night before an early morning flight or after a late arriving flight this will work.

The new owners of this hotel plan to demolish the hotel and build a shopping center in the space. They believe the permit process will take 3 to 4 years. However the new owners have cancelled room service. If you go to the bar or restaurant you can no longer charge the service to your room. Breakfast used to be available from 4:30 am to 9:30 am. Now it is only available from 6:30 to 8:30 am. causing people catching planes to miss breakfast. The breakfast is not nearly as good. The new owners have increased the rates and provide fewer services. They have lowered the the TV shows available to guests, lowered guest services and too many items to mention. I'm looking for a new hotel that provides shuttle services to and from the airport due to the changes brought on by new management.

After staying at the Days Inn and not being impressed at all, we expected El Rancho to be similar - and were pleasantly surprised when it wasn't. Our room #747 was spacious with two twin comfortable beds, a small seating area, vanity basin area and smallish bathroom. The shower was fantastic, the air conditioner functioned and wasn't too noisy and despite being close to the BART it was quiet. We promptly booked for our next trip. Recommended

El Rancho Inn is an older establishment that has not been updated. It is in a "sketchy" area that was fine by day but I would not be comfortable leaving the grounds at night. There is barbed wire over the fencing in the rear of the complex. However, the place has been very well maintained and the rooms and public area are extremely clean. The personnel are all friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced, close to the SanFrancisco Airport with shuttle service provided, one and a half mile walk to the Bart public transportation, breakfast included.

They didn't clean our room the next day and they said they skip it if u have a DND sign. Wouldn't give me any clean towels. Price too high. The lady at the desk didn't even lift a finger to comp me for the dirty room or offer me compensation for it. I would stay away from the el Rancho becoz the price is too high and the bathroom was too small. They don't even have a nighttime cleaning crew.

The el Rancho shuttle service to SFO is amazing. The park, stay and fly option is affordable. The room during this stay was awful. The wall had a very loud buzzing noise and the train was extremely loud. I would request next time to be on the other side of the hotel away from the rooms facing train

The location is great and the free airport shuttle works very well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Site is located next to railway tracks and this makes it noisy. Also some of the airplanes departures and/or arrivals can create noise pollution.

Recent trip to fish in BC 6am flight out of SFO excellent service with staff food okay beds comfortable early morning pick up on time return not so much waited at curbside close to one hour vehicle was waiting and safe. Would recommend for any exstended trip

Good place if you plan in not staying in the city. We stayed here two days prior to our RV trip, rooms were nice, big and clean, staff was nice, breakfast was ok. We didn't use the pool as we didn't have too much time to stay at the hotel

Ground floor bedroom was noisy and breakfast was grotesque with ghastly paper plates and plastic cutlery. Only stay there if nothing else available. Staff were friendly and made the best of their situation.

Clean hotel but don't expect to have a cocktail before 4PM. Not much around walking for food or drinks Shuttle was very prompt and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy. Watch out for the animals that roam at night

We always use this hotel for their Park and Fly package, because the service is EXCELLENT and they are so organzed. Rooms are well appointed and the breakfst is great. Shuttle drivers go out of their way to be of assistance. If we are flying out of SFO we wouldn't leave our car with anyone else!!!

This is a great Hotel to stay at the pool is a nice one, Fantastic Bar with Lounge you can eat there. WE had a wonderful time and would stay there again. A lot of people stay here that fly in and out of the airport as the have free shuttle to and from the airport. Which is really great plus if you stay there you and leave your car not sure how much but they will shuttle you to the airport.

This Hotel is low rise and spread out on a huge land next to the San Francisco Airport. They are modern and built in classical 19th Century European styles. They are two stories high and they are well-connected with covered passage to all the rooms in level 2. There is a beautiful outdoor pool and a restaurant which offers excellent American cuisines with discount. There is also a 24-hour fitness centre which offers the latest gliders/steppers and treadmills. It also has dumbbells and weight bench. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Toilet and bathroom are spotless clean. Internet is of lightening speed! Continental breakfast is provided and included scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, muffins. Lunch and dinner are available in the restaurant on site. However, it is easy to venture out for variety of cuisines available in the nearby restaurants. Major supermarkets (Safeway), shopping centres and fast-food outlets are within walking distance if you prefer to buy your own mels. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I met two amazing front receptionist, Angie and Lilibeth who are informative on the Hotel, surroundings and tips travelling in San Francisco. The check-out time is at noon. However, an extra hour late check-out is available on request. Even though I have checkout, I have stayed in the fitness centre for 5 hours without charges. It is a beautiful Hotel with tranquil garden surrounded by palm trees and European-style buildings. I enjoyed very much staying in the Hotel and highly recommend to any travellers who want free breakfast, free shuttles to Airport and major stations every 30 minutes, super fast internet wifi, excellent hotel services and large rooms with beautiful surroundings.

I've stayed several times at this Best Western for not only it's location, but for the great staff. They always have smiles with pleasant depositions. They make your stay as easy as possilbe. The rooms might not be lavishly large but extremely clean and have all that's desired.

We chose this motel because it had 24 hour shuttle service to the San Fransisco Airport. The shuttle picked us up (as well as other guests) at 3:30am. The motel is in a nice area with strip malls, fast food, and other restaurants nearby. We ate at Fidler's Green about a 15 minute walk. I had the mini Irish breakfast which was very good. Others in my group of 6 had a variety of sandwiches and salads which they all enjoyed. Our room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. The only complaint was that the bathroom was very small and there wasn't enough shelf space for toiletries. We were there on a very hot day & enjoyed the outdoor pool. We left too early for breakfast, so they gave us bags with water, apples, and granola bars.

Friendly staff. Room nice and clean. Slept well. Breakfast items are same everyday but it's free and quality is good, so no complains there. Had a little trouble using the coin laundry because price is not clearly marked, don't know how many quarters I should prepare. A pretty good overall experience.

Great hotel with helpful staff, clean, well-appointed rooms, and a good restaurant. Offers shuttle to and from the airport and they are on time! Also able to print off boarding passes. Has a pool and fitness center but my husband and I did not use either.

We stayed at the El Rancho the night before an early morning flight. We were impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. I had booked the “park and fly” option which was a great deal, We parked the car in front of our room, turned in the keys, and El Rancho left the car on their property for the week we were gone. In the morning, the shuttle service picked us up and took us to the airport. On the return, we needed to call the motel to let them know that we were at the airport and needed to be picked up. The shuttle driver drove us to my car, and helped get suitcases in car. I was very impressed with the service. I have stayed at the El Rancho several times. Some rooms are larger than others. All have been clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend their Park and Fly program.

Rooms were ok. Silent and comfy. The breakfast setup was outrageous however. Everything, and I mean, every little thing was disposable, one use only: spoons, forks, knives, dishes, cups, glasses, everything. I cannot imagine the tons of waste they produce every day. Please be more responsible towards the environment. Use re-usable stuff. Also it would be great to have vegan options for breakfast.

Worst customer service. I will never stay here again. Worst check-in process , unprofessional staff.named GABBY . Rooms are okay but not enough for the amount of money they charge here. Very rude staff w bad attitude working here.This hotel has demoted itself to a mainstream. I would suggest to adjust your prices downwards to stay in sync with the service you are providing and check your staffs performance. There are many other hotel options that give you much better value // it is sad but we truly miss the old El Rancho Inn with all its grandeur.

Very close to the airport (take a shuttle or uber) and shops and restaurants (walkeble). Pool is great. There was even a hottub. Had a room with two beds, and a small kitchenette and Spacious living. Perfect.

Above and Beyond is what I 've experienced with my stays at the Best Western EL Rancho.. I love this place. Great on site restaurant and a lounge with a Wonderful selection of libations. The pool is famous and yes, there is a working jacuzzi spa. Relaxation awaits you. Oh and a shuttle as well !! Winning.. I truly enjoy staying with BW EL Rancho

We stayed here as a family. Our plane was an hour late landing so at 01.15 in the morning! Ring hotel and the shuttle was there within 10 mins. Check in was easy and room was nice and clean. Short walk to BART for SAN Francisco. Pool was good and a nice breakfast. Definitely stay again.

Beautiful Hotel. Newly renovated rooms, comfortable bed and fine dining within 100 feet. This Hotel is located close to San Francisco international. It's clean and safe. The area around the hotel is also clean and upscale. You can here planes and shuttles run 24/7 so you can hear movement but that's expected. I'd definitely stay here again.

Early flight out on a Sunday morning out of San Fran. Only stayed one night, however, I wish I had known about this little jewel. BART very close. Location is excellent! Clean and comfortable rooms. Would stay here again for more than one night. Price right!!

I flew into SFO from the East Coast and needed a one night stay while waiting for friends from elsewhere around the country to arrive the following morning. I found the El Rancho Inn online and read complimentary reviews. It was 0.83 miles from SFO airport and fit my logistical needs. I was treated to a very nicely designed facility with a super clean room, a short walk across to the pool and restaurant lounge and close proximity to vending machines. The room was equipped with a small refigerator and high speed Internet. Before departing on Saturday, I walked a short distance into the Millbrae market area. I needed a pharmacy and found much more! Trader Joe's, shops and cafes all along a cute stretch of street. And, the 12:00 noon checkout really came in handy when my friend's flight into SFO on Saturday morning was delayed three hours! It was a great place to stay and I would return in a minute! Also...it was very quiet overnight during sleeping hours!

Clean, spacious room, with good breakfast. We stayed at El Rancho Inn the last 2 days of our roadtrip and visited San Francisco 2 days from here. We left our rental car at the Inn and took BART from Millbrae station (10 minutes walk from El Rancho Inn). For us, this was an easy way to visit the city for a reasonable price. Staff at front desk very nice and helpful.

First- when making reservations asked for a first floor room because of mobility issues. First floor required several steps up. Chose to stay here because said there was a frig in the room. When I told office that the frig didn't work and that we needed one for medications they wanted us to give life saving medication for them to refrigerate in the office... not acceptable. They finally moved us to a room that had a working frig. The shuttle to the airport was on time. The ladies at the breakfast were very accommodating.

Very nice older place but kept up. Nice salt water pool! Also had a nice restaurant and bar! Ended up having dinner there and breakfast was complimentary! Nice spread! Didn't have a car but there were other places close by including a Safeway market!

Room second floor. very clean and furniture up to date. Room smaller than many hotels but after all just sleeping and bed is comfortable. TV is same as most hotels, its dish and terrible combined with no channel guide.

Jwobert and Jessa were great from the moment I checked in till I checked out. They provided an experience like no other hotel with their hospitality and welcoming. My room was great. I was staying over with friends and everything about the hotel was great. The view was nice, cleanest hotel ever. All the employees were very helpful and nice and the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Jwobert and Jessa made it a better experience! I will definitely stay there again!

Rooms are well lit and look to be recently updated. Room was clean, shower was hot, and stable Wi-Fi. Room (2nd floor and in the back) was fairly quiet although hotel is close to airport and train track. The TV was kinda quirky and that was annoying. Hotel provided remote and did not work well with IR sensor. HDMI function was listed with channels, not through settings menu. Settings menu locked out with Hotel mode. Just in case you use a Roku or game console. Air conditioner could not maintain temp and was not maintained well, room was humid, regardless of temperature. I did not eat at the restaurant on-site, so cannot provide feedback.

I've enjoyed a number of stays at this motel in the past fifteen years or so. The location is great: close to SFO and BART, easy access to 101 and 280 for trips to Silicon Valley or the City. Not a bad drive to and from Oakland Airport, either. And it's just outside the fog belt -- many days you can stand in the sunshine and admire the fog bank a few miles north. I've always found it to be clean and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. And the centrally located pool, Jacuzzi spa, and restaurant are excellent amenities. Shuttle service to SFO is good, but make sure you reserve in advance and leave time for multiple pickups and drop-offs.

I have stayed at this hotel for the last three years after an RV hire trip and spent two nights there before flying back home to Britain. It's a very clean, tidy hotel with spacious rooms. A nice touch is the airport shuttle bus picks you up outside your room.

Wow - where to even begin! I reserved this hotel for our last night in San Francisco so we would be close to the airport and wouldn't have to drive the next morning. Boy did I regret it! Of the 5 hotels we had booked for our CA vacation this one was by far the worst of the bunch; hell, it's #2 worst hotel we have EVER stayed at, with #1 being near the Skyline Drive in VA (but it was 1/4 of the price - so at least it has that going for it). I was embarrassed to have brought my husband and baby here. If we didn't have a 7 month old with us - I would say I would have cancelled that night for a better last-minute reservation at a different place. This hotel is so awfully dated - it probably hasn't been renovated since the 70s-80s, with dirty walls and that grey popcorn ceiling that is supposed to be white, but has not been painted in ages. The bathroom was so dirty looking I had to place a towel in the bathtub to shower, and my husband kept it there for his. Those decorative fabric pieces hotels place on in the sheets of the bed to bring the look together - I had to remove them before even putting my baby on the bed; they looked dirty and felt sticky for not being washed in ages as well. The room smelled like it hadn't been cleaned for ever. You would at least expect some spectacular service from this hotel to justify the great reviews people are leaving on here, but not that I noticed! The girls at the front desk were so fake friendly it was like - just don't even try. I'd rather they be matter of fact and business like than whatever fake friendliness they were trying to exert. However, the worst was a Joan (Joanne, Jo-Ann?) working the late shift. We went to the airport to return our rental car the night before our flight so we wouldn't have to do it in the morning with the baby in tow. We already had the directions on what to do to call the shuttle from the check-in ladies. At the airport once we returned the car I called the hotel to let them know that we needed a shuttle. This Joan person not only sounded like she was a recording, but she was also so rude! She talked to me like I was a retard and after I told her we were heading to the terminals she told me to call her back once I knew what terminal we were at and hung up on me - just like that! The second time I called she was reading the same script as before in her machine-like voice that I would have thought it was a robot if she hadn't been so rude, proving she wasn't actually a robot! I really hated this hotel. I don't know what standards people leaving great reviews on here have, I just can't fathom anyone leaving more than 2-3 stars for this establishment. The only nice thing about this hotel was the shuttle driver who was super helpful with loading/unloading our stuff and stroller, and they provided breakfast. If you have ANY self-respect, you must look somewhere else. There are tons of hotels nearby.

Very comfortable and spacious room. Close to the airport with shuttle service but you have to call them when you arrive so that they will pick you up - we were not told this in advance. One of the few hotels I have stayed in that has two luggage racks in the room. Not sure why more hotels don't have this as they are cheap and usually there are two people staying.

Great front desk service. Friendly staff. Rooms are very well maintained and clean.the hotel location is perfect near shopping and food. Nice pool/ spa and gym. Shower pressure is awesome most hotels dont have that. Direct tv basic channels but its the channels that matter. Ac/ heat is really good. Beds are comfortable.

Located on El Camino Real not far from the San Francisco airport made it an easy pick.The room was comfortable with a nice bed. The bathroom was a bit odd - part of it had obviously been remodeled but the stall shower was tiled on every surface (including the ceiling) and not much more than 3 feet square which meant that the shower head was practically on ones face. The shower pressure was great. The breakfast buffet was adequate. The reception staff was especially nice - letting me into my room more than an hour early. Definitely worth a repeat.

This hotel is average for a signature collection. The location is near the airport, which can be a plus. They offer a shuttle service which is also a plus. Their continental breakfast is quite good, which is also a plus. However, the hotel is older and could use a nice update and facelift. Our first room had a musty smell. The room on our second stay had a toilet that continually ran all night, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The bed had sheets that were less than soft, and the bed was not the most comfortable. The hotel was clean, but it is truly a basic, basic hotel. Nice perks, but the room could stand some improvement.

This motel is the best run, best organized motel in California with a staff that is always friendly, helpful and efficient. Their program that provides an opportunity to leave your vehicle and be transported to San Francisco airport 24/7 is outstanding.

Just an average place, with average breakfast, and decent rooms. Most employees are very pleasant and helpful. It is great to have complimentary shuttle to airport. Price is about right for their location so close to airport.

Super sized hacienda close to the airport ($20 ride in a taxi), speediest check in, guest welcome gift bag and reasonably clear directions to locate your room. Restaurant on site (it's ok), but room has excellent drip coffee, great big beds and large clean rooms. Downside: noisy, inefficient air conditioner. You can hear the trains but decent earplugs go a long way to improve comfort. No room service, lifts/elevators only on one side of building complexes. Upside: provide transfer back to airport Downside: we booked, waited and then got told at 0630 that we were not on the list and needed a taxi Upside: staff organised the taxi for us and we were on our way in 5 minutes.

This hotel was booked for us by a travel company for one night after we arrived at the airport. Our family of 6 were leaving the next day on an RV trip. I will say some of the staff was friendly and there is a nice free breakfast. But...When we checked we got room keys for 2 rooms in Building 7. It's not very clearly marked and a large confusing property. There is no shuttle and it was quite a long walk with luggage (we did not have a car) the numbering system is confusing and there aren't elevators on both sides. When we got to the room none of the keys worked. Long walk back to the desk. Then when we walked back again only half of the keys worked. The rooms were pretty musty but we were only there for one night so no big deal. It was a pretty average stay -nothing special I'm not sure how this place has five stars.

First and foremost, the staff is what makes this hotel really amazing - we had wonderful assistance from three of its staff members (Helen, Kaitlyn and Jwobert) and are so appreciative of the time and efforts they extended us. We have stayed there many times and have plans to stay again in the near future. This hotel serves us very well as a place to stay before a trip, as well as after. Plus they hold onto our car for us and provide shuttle service to and from the airport. We miss the early morning (4:30am) breakfast but understand and are grateful for the 6am option. We have heard that this place will be replaced with apartment buildings and that makes us very sad - but it won't happen for a few years so we'll continue to make our reservations in SF here. Thank you, El Rancho, for all you've done for us!

A large and comfortable room in a most well-appointed motel was really welcome after having been awake for some 36 hours. The bathroom was very nice and the shower was good and strong. I didn't have to wait long for the hot water and adjusting the temperature was easier than most places I've been in. The dining facilities are top notch but the tea and coffee facilities in the room (4 coffee capsules and only 2 teabags) are definitely inferior to what I'm accustomed to in Best Western motels in Australia. The dining room and bar are in the building in the middle of the car park. It is very comfy and homely. The open fire was very welcoming as was the bar service. The complimentary breakfast for departing customers was very good and most welcome. The motel also has a shuttle bus service to the airport. Being situated in Millbrae, at the end of one of the BART lines is a great plus. The station is a short walk ( one mile - about 15 minutes) from the motel and the train takes about 30 minutes to get you to Powell Street Station at a cost of $11. I chose this place instead of some hotel in the city because the thought of wrestling my luggage on and off the train didn't appeal and this is so close to the airport. There are also numerous good restaurants nearby. I hope to get a chance to return in the not-too-distant future. My room, I think it was 245, was on the upper level in the corner of the building across from the dining area. It was quiet and really comfy.

My daughter, grandsons and I stayed here last night in order to be close to SFO for an early flight. That part is good; it's close to the airport. The other good things were that the staff at the front desk at check/in was very nice, our suite room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Now for the not so good: we were not even sure we were at the right hotel since there is no signage indicating it's a Best Western until you go inside the lobby. When we got to our second floor room (and if there was an elevator anywhere, it wasn't obvious, so we dragged our luggage up the stairs outside), it smelled like it had been closed up for ages. The sofa and chair were not comfortable at all—rough fabric and hard to sit on. The furniture looked like something from my grandmother's house. The bathroom was the worst—dust on the fixtures, mismatched fixtures, weak water pressure in sink, water in shower alternated from burning hot to cool with no change to faucets, mildew on grout and caulking around tub, no ventilation. They had an extension cord for the lamp and clock that had an exposed wire. And we killed several baby spiders in the room!! I believe the whole place is in dire need of a refurbish and upgrade; it was obvious that it had been repainted many times. For the price we paid for a night's stay we could have gotten 3 rooms at a different Best Western and had a more pleasant experience. I did not speak to a manager about any of these things when I checked out at 4 a.m.; I wonder what their response would have been.

Due to a slight mix up with our booking we were instantly upgrade to a superior room. The staff were so very helpful and welcoming, such a pleasure after a long flight and the usual protracted immigration procedure. Our room was absolutely superb with loads of space and facilities. the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and tidy with all the extras you would expect. There was a free breakfast provided with a good range of options including a cooked breakfast. There is a free airport shuttle provided which ran very regularly. All in all first class and highly recommended

What an incredible service. The hotel rooms themselves are pretty typical of a Best Western but the park, sleep and fly service was much more than I expected. First, when the shuttle picks you up to head to the airport, you don't need to go anywhere. They pick you up right in front of your room. When we arrived, I called for pick up and shuttle arrives within 15 minutes. We were staying an extra night so I was expecting to check back in. Instead, the driver takes us directly to our room, hands us our room keys and our car keys! And to top it all off, they moved the car so it's parked directly in front of our hotel room. Awesome. Will definitely use again!

This is my 4th time staying here and the rooms are adequate, the amenities are great and who doesn't love an all you can eat complimentary breakfast. Vickie is pleasant, understanding and helpful. I enjoy the area because its quiet and no more than 15-20 minutes from San Francisco depending on traffic. The prices are unbeatable!!! They often have promotions and you can sign up to become a Best Western rewards member which comes with a lot of perks!

This hotel is very convenient to SFO. We have stayed here several times in order to take a cruise the next day. The hotel shuttle is efficient and timely. The complimentary breakfast is good and we will continue to stay here in the future when we need a next day ride to the airport.

I have been working with Vickie Herriot for ALL of our construction lodging when we're in the area. She is so upbeat and caring with our crews and takes a huge weight off my shoulders when sending our guys out of town. I know when they're at EL Rancho inn, there will be ZERO issues with their stay. Nice clean hotel, yummy breakfast and exceptional customer service. We will continue to be a loyal customer as long as this place stands!!!

This was the first time that I had stayed in a motel and I was sceptical about it before I arrived. There was no need, the room was clean and a decent size, though it did need some refurbishment. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel information said that a breakfast box was available each morning, this was an understatement. There was a full continental breakfast available plus hot options of bacon, sausage, egg and potatoes. The location was great, and felt a lot safer and more pleasant compared to a previous stay in central San Francisco. There are good restaurants in the area and a Safeway supermarket. The train station is only a few minutes drive, and the highway to San Francisco is also only a few minutes drive. The only inconvenience is that the guests safe's are in the hotel office rather than in the hotel rooms. Staying here turned out to be a good decision.

This place was perfect for a quick one night stop after a very long flight. Rooms were clean and the hotel amenities were nice. The staff was extremely welcoming. Recommend this hotel for San Francisco airport layovers.

Room was clean and the staff was nice. Breakfast is not included though, so be aware. They did give us a coupon for 10% of any meal at the restaurant, but their prices aren't cheap. Airport shuttle was on time at 330am for us which was impressive.

We stayed in 3 of their rooms and all were clean and tidy. Towels are clean too. Breakfast is quite standard. Near to fastfood and restaurant. Wifi is fine. Occasionally can hear the noise from the train passing through but keeping the toilet door close will solve the issue.

Great place for overnight before or after a flight at Shuttle to and from airport. A nice breakfast on the morning before you leave. Very nice accommodations. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Have stayed here many times.

We stayed here because we were ending a vacation and they had an airport shuttle to SFO. Even though it appeared to be an older motel, the accommodations were updated. We were surprised to find we had a very nice suite with a living room and mini kitchen instead of a basic hotel room. It was very spacious, comfortable and clean. It even had glassware and silverware. The breakfast buffet was nicer than many and comfortable with many tables instead of feeling like you were crammed in as it is with most. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. A pleasant surprise was that the shuttle picked you up right at your room so we didn't have to schlep our bags the distance to the front lobby. We did not use the pool since it was too cold but it looked nice. The only drawback was that you could hear the trains and planes through the night. Too bad I didn't have earplugs! There was plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance and it felt very safe there. After my last Best Western stay, this was a real gem!

No one explained the shuttle, car key, room key process. Two sentences during check-in, or even better, from the shuttle driver, along the lines of "The shuttle will take you to your room. Here's your car key, it is parked near your room" would have cleared up some confusion. The room was ok. Beds were cozy. Pillowcase labels of "soft" and "hard" were a nice touch, except they felt equally soft. One room key didn't work, 2nd key took 3 tries to work. After two weeks in the UK with full English breakfasts and knowledgeable servers, returning to an American continental breakfast was a letdown. My family is gluten free, egg allergic and issues with dairy. While happy to see hot food in the buffet, getting allergen information was frustrating. My wife wasn't able to learn what was in the sausage, so I was sent to see if I could learn if the food was safe for us. The only visible staff person (morning bartender?) told me what was in the potatoes, but unhelpful about the sausages. I had to request 3 times to speak to someone else before he decided to go to the kitchen to learn if the sausage contained gluten or egg... he returned to tell me they had gluten. So, our breakfast was potatoes, tasty, but not exactly satisfying. Hotel is redeemed by airport shuttle, free parking (for first 7 days), but not much else.

My family got in at 12:30 at night and took the shuttle to this hotel. The driver and check-in staff were very friendly. The suite was huge with two bedrooms a full kitchen, dining room and living room. So why only three stars? The place feels like it hasn't been updated for at least twenty years and the some rooms did not feel very clean. The complimentary breakfast was pretty meagre as well. If you need a quick overnight near the hotel and need a lot of space this is a good spot. But keep your expectations in check.

Stayed here for a night because we have an early flight to catch at the airport. Typical Best Western: consistent, clean and comfortable beds. Go for the free breakfast if you have an early flight. It's simple , beats paying a fortune for breakfast at the airport. Airport Shuttle: go the the departure hall, look for the airport signage saying airport shuttle. It will lead you outside to a booth that looks like a bus stop. There is a phone to allow u to dial (for free)to any airport hotels. Call them to arrange the pickup time and wait. Voila.

I've stayed here with parking packages quite a few times and as long as the price (which is very competitive with SFO parking) I'll definitely use them again. Room is ok, the bathtub didn't have a plug for the tub, the included breakfast is good, but not great, bagels, cereal, scrambled eggs and sausage.

This place is affordable, goes above and beyond in service. great shuttle service from the door of your room to the airport. Everyone at reception is willing to help and answer all your inquiries. Very well organized. They go above and beyond in service and solve your problems, if any, immediately.

This is a fairly large but very pleasant hotel with rooms in motel style blocks. All the facilities were good and the room was very clean. From reading other reviews I guess that some rooms haven't been updated but ours was fine. Have stayed in far worse, though I would agree about tiny en-suite (using toilet very cramped!). Everything was great for a night's stay before/after flight as the shuttle bus service was so good. The only downer was the noise from the adjacent railway line - hooting trains late into the night, as well as the planes of course. Breakfast was fantastic (far better than the grab and go snack as suggested by website) - an excellent choice of buffet items in a pleasant environment, though all the disposable cutlery/crockery makes it less enjoyable.

The hotel was chosen for is proximity to the airport, I expected a basic room that was clean functional and had easy airport access. The room was very dated in its décor, the shower did not function very well and the room had a rather unpleasant smell. We only stayed in the room for one night and had a very early departure from SFO. The room was close to a train station and you could hear the trains throughout the night. The shuttle was useful and punctual.

Crowded toilet, my thigh hits the vanity when I sit. What is the point of the towel rack 2 inches above the counter? You can't use it for anything. GIANT gap under the front door,the wind chilled my feet while sitting at the desk. For the life of me, I don't understand how this place warrants a "plus" rating from Best Western. Disappointed and would not return.

The location is certainly convenient to many things within walking distance. Our check in was smooth, friendly and quick. Our room was nice and comfortable. It was refreshing to have an elevator for the upper floors. While we didn't have issues parking at the time, I can see how it may be difficult for guests since they also operate a park n fly out of this location. We would stay here again.

Two problems I wish to address. No extra toilet paper in room. Called the front desk and complained. Person at front desk said extra toilet paper on its way. 45 minutes later,no show. I had to walk up to the front desk to get the tp. Front desk lies. Second problem is the dinning and the food menu. The last few times I stayed here the food was not up to past standards. I have been staying here for over 30 yrs and now thinking for over $200 a night, just not getting the value for the price. It could be time to find a different place to stay. I am also a Best Western rewards member.

We only had 24 hrs in SF before boarding our cruise ship. The room was clean and well appointed. It was pouring and cold when we arrived so we didn't bother with going out. The hotel bar was adequate and breakfast fine. Good for the price. It's not in a pretty part of town, but we weren't there for the views.

Stayed here for an early departure home the next day. Definitely a "good deal"! Hotel is clean, staff is friendly, internet works as does the fitness equipment, and the Cafe and Bar has good food, draft beer, and a nice veranda. Definitely would stay here again. Highly recommended for minimal hassle, quick trip to airport by shuttle, and convenient and pleasant stay.

Great place to stay when traveling out of SFO. This quiant hotel takes service to a whole new level. Most efficient shuttle and car park service ever. Clean and comfortable. Great depature breakfast! Nice resturant/lounge and pool. Close to SFO and walking distance to other resturants and stores.

A very convenient location, near San Francisco airport. Hotel shuttle pick up. A beautiful hotel like a resort. Very comfortable room. The restaurant is right there for excellent dinner. A spacious gym with nice view from the windows. Excellent service at the restaurant. Check in/check out was very smooth and quick.

Stayed there for one night after long flight from UK and nightmare two hours getting through airport security. The room looked dated and tired. However it was clean and just what we needed for a short stay. The shuttle didn't take long to pick us up and the check in was fast and professional. The free breakfast had plenty of choice. All in all,for a one night stay it was good value for money

Stayed the night before taking a cruise from SFO it's a 30-40 minute drive to the dock 4 adults with luggage $80 including tip or like some people did they caught the BART train first thing in the morning. We had the front desk arrange a car for us. The hotel has a free shuttle from or to the airport which worked well for us.it was easy to locate the pick up point., a lot of cruisers use the shuttle and stayed at the hotel. Not very much in the area I only saw a couple of places to eat and nothing else I don't walk the streets in any city at night so stayed at the hotel. It's not high end but clean, comfortable, had a nice breakfast in the morning. The on-site restaurant was good a bit pricey for what it is but fine. This is not a vacation destination but a good pre and post cruise stay. You can take the BART to fisherman's wharf if you like. A good alternative to much pricier hotels downtown.

Our flights were cancelled and we needed to spend the night near the airport. The Best Western was super easy. They picked us up quickly and delivered us the next morning back to the airport. While not a new property, it is well maintained and very clean. The Millbrae Pancake House a block from the hotel is an excellent place for lunch and heavily used by the locals. We had dinner in the hotel Terrace Cafe and it was quite good and above our expectations.

- Expect a motel - best I can say is that is clean - Shuttle service was very basic - no help with bags, although has a sign suggesting one should tip $1 per bag - Room is fine - Make sure you latch your room, as after they checked me in at 7:30pm they gave a new person a key to my room. Tried to call the front desk - no-one would answer - no sorry we gave someone else your room key.... - So you understand it is a motel room, so you open up to the bed, to which I had just gotten out of the shower - probably more scary for the man coming into the room than me, however not appropriate either way, and downright scary for most people, that it can happen at all

Leaving for Cabo on an early morning flight. Just got off a cruise ship and had to do some laundry. They have one washer and dryer that are outside (covered) but no door. VERY cold. Room was clean and comfortable. Had a shuttle to take us to the airpor. Everything we needed for one night.

The shuttle service to the airport did not pick us up. It drove right by and said we were not in front of our door. Our door was blocked by a large SUV so driver couldn't have been able to see us. We saw him but he never even attempted to see us. To make matters worse the front desk was unhelpful, put us on hold, did not answer phone and after calling from an outside line hung up on me! Don't stay here is you need the shuttle services or expect to have a courteous front desk staff experience.

I could not rate this premises high enough. From arrival to leaving the staff were excellent friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and warm. The setting was beautiful and the place both inside a d out were spotless. I checked in and a friend of mine was with me who was flying out later that day. The receptionist offered to get him a shuttle bus to the airport compliments of the hotel. There was no problem leaving luggage at reception. All in all a 5 star stay.

Checked in for one night before an early flight out of SFO. Check in was easy! The restaurant is cute with decent food. The room was small but worked just fine for a night! The shuttle to SFO made the start to the trip extremely smooth, shuttle picked us up just outside our hotel room and dropped off us in plenty of time. At the end of our trip, we caught the free shuttle back to the hotel and was dropped off at our car. We will be back!

Called hotel from Shuttle Pickup Point from phone provided at shuttle stop. They were there to collect us within 5 minutes - very friendly driver. Accommodation was neat, clean and quiet - much needed after a 14 hour flight! Reception staff were really helpful and friendly, shuttle service back to airport next morning was just a seamless. El Rancho ticked every box we needed for a comfy stopover, close to airport.

The hotel was clean, staff friendly, our room had a separate room with two queens . This was especially nice since traveling with adult kids and they had to catch shuttle earlier for flight. Easy access to airport bed was very comfortable

We used the Best Western Plus park and Fly option and were extremely satisfied with everything. The hotel is so efficiently managed that everything went smoothly. The rooms were immaculate and the restaraunt on site was wonderful. The complimentary breakfast was way above the norm.

This is a very nice clean place to stay. Friendly staff etc.. However, if you are looking for a stay and fly place, I wouldn't go here. Yes, they get you to the airport, but coming to get you after traveling all day, is another matter. From calling for pick up to car drop off, 59 minutes; almost an hour. Saw three Anza Parking lot vans (and others) go by as we waited. Never again. I'll just drive earlier and park at Anza. If you try this place, remember this warning!! Good luck!

Instructions to get shuttle were misleading. Couldn't find the phone. Notice with numbers was too high and print too small illegible at night. Had to wait far too long. Driver helpful and pleasant. Reception asked so many questions considering we had prepaid. Had to request help with luggage. Booked a shuttle. Woken at 5.30am by phone mistakenly for shuttle! Tap on door at 8.30 am no be there!! Misses free breakfast as stop serving at 9 am Enjoyed breakfast I paid for. Went to reception to order early shuttle. Later went to recheck and as told we hadn't booked. Eventually found the booking. Phone in room didn't work so had to walk a distance yet again to Reception. A Mickey Mouse set of reception staff. Do not rely on information they give.

Best Western-MillbraeI wanted a bathtub but only got a small shower. I thought I had requested a bathtub to soak my weary bones.The location was good that is why I chose it because it was close to the airport and I had an international flight early in the morning. I haven't tried the breakfast yet so I can't tell you. Will book again especially since I became a member

Having a comfy bed after 24 hours of travel was heaven. We did a reverse park and fly, where we dropped off the car, shuttled to the airport and then stayed the night at the end of our trip. BE SURE TO BOOK DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL if you want this option. I booked with another site when the agent at the hotel wasn't available. Even though the site said I could park aand fly and I put it in the column section, it was not honored when we arrived. I had to pay about $60 extra for this convenience. The femal front desk clerk was curt and not helpful, I had to get the manager.

I have used the El Rancho Inn many times over the last 10 years. I live about a 100 miles from the airport so I prefer to drive to San Francisco the night before my flight to avoid SF traffic and get a good nights sleep. They offer great storage options for leaving your car while you are out of town and have consistent reliable transportation to the airport. If your flight is not too early, they offer a decent buffet style breakfast which is very nice if you are in a hurry. Rooms are recently remodeled and very comfortable.

It's not the most modern of places but I was fine with it for one night with a very early flight out. When checking in I heard multiple people saying they had stayed there before (I think locals use it to stay for early flights then get free parking while they are gone). We did not try the restaurant so I can't comment on that. The main issue we had was around 11:30 we were woken up by whoever was staying next door - lots of yelling and stomping. After about 30 minutes I attempted to call the front desk using the hotel phone - no answer. I called from my cell phone - someone picked up and quickly and unintelligibly answered and immediately put me on hold. After two minutes someone still didn't come back. Hung up and called again - no one picked up. At that point I was so worked up I couldn't get back to sleep... and with a 3 am wake up call it was made even more frustrating that no one was answering to try to assist us with the noise issue.

First of all - in the map this hotel seems to be pretty close to the airport, and it was the reason for me to stay there. Don't be fooled, its entrance/ exit is on the same road as all the others, the side closer to the airport does not have an external communication. On that being said, I must say that looking at the other hotels on the same road made me feel bad for my choice - there are plenty of options that look much, I mean much better than this one. Hotel is begging for modernization. Rooms are dark (hard to see if they are clean), TV and heater most likely survivors from the late 90's (image does not fit on screen) and, the biggest problem from my perspective is that you don't feel safe there. It is a big property, motel style, a bit creepy and from where we were it was impossible to spot employees or security. Not a good vibe, I must say. Restaurant was empty and it did not seem to be very clean. Prices were absurd, for all that matters there's a McDonald's right in front of the hotel. For the basics - honest beds, good shower and this is what you need if you have a very early flight on the day after. Shuttle came on time - bear in mind that it makes a couple of stops before dropping you at the terminals, so plan ahead to avoid losing your flight. Bottom line, for much less I believe better options are available.

This property satisfies all of the requirements that any Best Western will offer. Other than that there's not really anything that makes it rated "Plus", especially since the breakfast offers only cold items for a while. I'm not sure when the hot items get put out. Additionally, the lack of a microwave in the rooms is a glaring omission. There is a restaurant on site that offers average food at inflated prices. The internet is sporadic and you will get dumped a lot without being able to sign back in unless you choose to connect tp "room 502". This choice has only one strength bar and is frustratingly slow

Extremely poor experience - apathetic employees. Stay once a month near SFO. Will go somewhere else. Shuttle service was horrible let me get off at wrong hotel and didn't make it right. Had to take Uber to get to meeting. Front desk person apathetic and made zero effort to listen. I paid s good amount. I guess they don't want my business.

The main reason we stayed here was a place to stay after a long flight that arrived in San Francisco around 8.30 PM. They assured us they would be able to pick us up at that hour at the airport. WRONG. We called at 8.30. "Oh sure, we will be there in about 10 minutes" was their reply. 20 minutes later we called, Where are you? "Oh, about 10 minutes more". 20 minutes later we call, where are you? "Oh, about 10 minutes more". 20 minutes later we call, We are getting Uber. 5 minutes, uber in front of us. 20 dollars lighter, we arrived at motel. We were pretty upset. Their reply, "Oh, sorry". That's it, sorry! I forgot, it was cold and pouring rain that night. "Oh, sorry", what a joke. No adjustment to room cost for our inconvenience, no upgrade, no refund of Uber, no concern at all! Never, never never stay here if you need a shuttle back from airport. This place is the worst example of a business that just wants your money, nothing else. Pathetic.

An efficiently run, comfortable place with a cosy bar serving surprisingly good food (we loved the caprese pizza). Room was fine, but a bit of train noise comes through the closed window. The airport shuttle is handy and you can reserve your space.

Pretty much had nowhere else to stay given a convention in the area. All in all, it was acceptable, but, given prior experiences, I know there are better options in the area. Just happy I was on the second floor, so did not have to experience the cars coming in and out of the parking lot.

We enjoyed our layover stay here. There is 24/7 airport shuttle, clean & comfortable rooms, a terrific free breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage along with juice, hot cereal, rolls & more. The high speed Internet was good.

The BW El Rancho has a great stay and fly program whereby you can stay one night and leave your car there until you return. They really have their act down well. You give the desk the info on, and keys for, your car. When you depart for the airport on their shuttle, they move your car to their parking site and when you return it is waiting for you. The shuttle driver from the airport will drop you off right at your car. We, three people had a room with two beds, but they were not side by side. One bed was in a second room, a little alcove. The room was very nice and the beds comfortable. There is a restaurant on site that is very good and you can get a breakfast snack there to take with you to the airport. The staff was very pleasant and efficient.

This is our go to hotel to stay when we have an early flight out of SFO. Get there early enough to enjoy a delicious dinner on the property. Breakfast includes several hot options and items to "grab and go" as well.

The Best Western El Rancho Inn, close to SFO, has been my go-to place since 2009.I leave my car at the hotel, get the shuttle to and from the airport and stay the night on my return.The staff is friendly and helpful. This park and fly offer is just right for me.

There's a train track nearby! The train blew it's horn in the middle of the night. The room was clean and had a coffee pot and the usual toiletries. The complimentary breakfast was in another building, so not so convenient. Parking was tight at 10:30 at night when I arrived and I had to park across the parking lot, not so close to my room.

Stuck in SFO for a night and chose to stay here because it got good reviews. Those reviewers must have grossly different standards than we do. Tiniest bathroom with two skimpy towels for two people? And had to use those towels on the floor because the shower leaked everywhere. Low ceilings. Worn out. Gnats. Choose someplace else.

Be careful of the front office staff as they may double charge your credit card account, as I was! The old Mexican lady with her hair pulled into a ponytail that sits at the registration desk did not mention to me that someone else had paid for the room my niece was and when I paid for it she took the payment and was visibly irritated that I came back with a confirmation number that it was ALREADY purchased! I believe she was planning on keeping the money! I'll bet anything that their accounting doesn't match! Which in my book is FRAUD!!

Reservations replied efficiently to our booking enquiries and allocated us a spacious and quiet room. Shuttle bus picked us from the airport within 10 minutes. Check in was efficient and the room was huge. Shower very weak. A little dated in decor but I'm guessing as it is an airport hotel most people only stay one night so no big deal. Gave us a late checkout as our flight wasn't till 4pm. Shuttle bus even picked us up from our room! Free use of computer and printer to print boarding passes was a nice touch. Wi-Fi in room didn't work. Departure snack consisted of coffee, juice, eggs, bacon, croissant, muffin, banana and yogurt. There was bread and apples but looked a bit stale.

This has got to be one of the closest hotels to SFO. Ten mins or less from airport. They provide a 24 hour shuttle service to SFO and a complimentary breakfast! The motel setup can be a put off but you feel like you have more privacy this way somehow. Wear earplugs because you are near the flight paths. I didn't need them because I can sleep through anything.

Wifi was a little slow and we could hear the train passing by every time. The service was great. I loved the shuttle service! Great night driver! The bed was made and things were nice and organized everyday by the housekeeper.

This hotel is very convenient from SFO or to downtown San Francisco with easy access to all highways. The hotel's setting and decor are very pleasant. The daily breakfast is good enough to start a day. There are a swimming pool and gym but too small to get any benefit. The pool is only open from April to November and will be heated.

I stay for a medical appt, though many stay to fly to their exotic destinations and I would do the same , cars are safe.lovely comfortable rooms, helpful staff, delicious food.It is easy to find, the hotel offers transportation for your airport needs.

This is a wonderful motel to stay at if you need to sleep and fly. We thought it was very reasonable. We left the motel at 5 am they picked us up at our room and took us to the airport. Nice fast and easy!

There were 5 of us (2 adults and 3 teenagers, all females) Hotel looks just like the pictures, no photo shop here (trust me we have stayed at some hotels where the pictures looked nothing like the real thing) Our stay was very nice, no issues what so ever other than the other inconsiderate guests going to and from their rooms at all hours of the night: running kids/adults, dragging suitcases down the steps, talking loudly. (NOT the hotels fault at all) Breakfast was good and plentiful, we felt safe and the beds were sooooo comfortable. We had a 2 bedroom suite and it had everything we needed. WiFi was great! Very clean, would definitely stay again

I stayed at this Best Western on my way from Hawaii to Maryland getting there about 2 AM and leaving at 8:30 AM. The advantage was the shuttle to and from SFO. However at a cost of $180 the room was very cold (heat off) and remotely situated too far from the dining area to enjoy the free breakfast. To top it off the water in the shower wasn't running. A very expensive and uncomfortable 6 hour stay. It would appear that most of the customers leave their cars parked there as they fly out of SFO.

Shuttle service to/from airport was quick and comfortable; the driver waited until we finished the check in and drove us to our room.Room was spacious and clean.Breakfast was very good and is served from 530a which was very helpful Shuttle service back to sfo was good - picked us up at 6am sharp, helped us with the luggage and dropped us at the terminal.This is perfect if you are looking to stay close to the airport - very accomodating to all the needs of such stop.

A little noisy, but the park and fly is very good. Good restaurants close by. Don't bother eating here. Shuttle buses are very prompt; staff is delightfulGet a room towards the front, as there are trains near the rear.

I have always used the El Rancho either prior to or following a trip. The restaurant is great and the complementary breakfast is adequate. My only complaint is the shuttle should run every 15 min like the other hotels instead of 30 min. If you miss the time by 5 min it is hard to watch all those Hilton shuttles pass you by.

Whenever we are flying out of San Francisco, we stay at the El Rancho. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant food is good and the staff is great. We have never had an issue with getting to the airport or returning to the hotel to get our car. They have an excellent process!

Heading to Nebraska for family trip, staying the night before and having my car taken care of while revealing is the height of convenience. And, quite economical I might add! And my daughter loved it too!

This is the first time we've spent the night before taking off from SFO early in the morning. So glad we did! We would have spent $85 to park our car off-site. Instead we spent $180 for the room and parking. It could not have been more convenient. And the office staff is really helpful and friendly. Easy, peasy. Definitely recommend this is you're worried about getting stuck in commute traffic and missing your flight. (Also a good option if you're arriving back late and don't want to drive home tired.) Full disclosure, the rooms are nothing to write home about. This is an old property. But it's clean and comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower is great! So glad we found this gem.

I'm so glad I discovered this hotel. It was easy for a friend to drop me off, and the restaurant gave me a good meal for a good price. What was the delightful surprise was that the shuttle picked me up at my building -- no need to trudge all the way up the hill, on this large property, to catch a ride to the terminal. Will stay here again when in the area.

Love the pillows and bed... Super comfortable! Shuttle to the airport was timely and dependable. Great value! Had a great hot breakfast! Hotel in conveniently located near the train station. Great hotel!

Yes, the room is clean. That's why I'm giving two points. But the over-all experience was disappointing. This is a large property. Your chances of parking near your room are slim if you arrive in the evening. There are no luggage carts on the property —  none! I was told by an office staff member, "We've never had luggage carts." So, suppose you park a distance away (as we did) or suppose your have a physical disability? Neither person in the office offered to send help. We chose this motel because it offers "free" parking while you fly. But you must turn in your car keys so that staff can move your car as needed. When we returned from our trip, our car had been moved by motel staff, and the battery was completely dead (interior light left on by a motel employee). No apologies, just a shrug. We won't be returning...

I stayed in the hotel for only one night. Perhaps I just missed the previous one so I had to wait for half an hour outside airport terminal for the shuttle. Apart from that, everything else was as expected and good. No hassle check-in and automatic check-out was great. Airport shuttle picked me at the promised time, right outside my room. Clean bathroom and towels. There is one restaurant on the property but that was a disappointment. However, there are few eating places right outside the hotel. I could stay here again.

Excellent place to stay when flying in or out of San Francisco airport. Utilizing their park and fly program takes a lot of stress and expense out of flying from the Bay Area. They have a great shuttle service to and from the airport which makes getting to the airport on time simple and efficient. He hotel is clean and well maintained, the staff is helpful, courteous, and efficient! We've used the park and fly service 6 or 7 times. Highly recommend! There are a few places to eat at nearby. A Wing Stop and Mc Donald's just across the street. There is also a nice restaurant on the property.

Room #703 back side is LOUD due to the Train tracks and Hub right there. EVERY Half an Hour train comes through with a loud whistle. People in the parking lots being loud and obnoxious and drunk at 2am....Took the Airport shuttle at 2:30am and arrived at SFO in 20 minutes. That was the nice part. Italian Restaurant about 3 blocks away that was amazing and I cannot remember the name of it. Was Disappointed that there was No Microwave in the Room as I had brought food for us for Breakfast due to the hours of our travel and had to leave it at the Hotel. So we had to wait until 5am and eat at the airport.

We are staying here for 4 nights and booked through Hotwire. I feel tricked because I wanted a hotel and this is a MOTEL but could not cancel due to policy. I did request a room up front and got building 200 thank god. I can hear the train from the bathroom because there is a window but shutting the bathroom door kills the noise. I feel bad for this in the back! The room was clean and they seem to have updated it. But the bathroom was horrible, I have a closet larger than the whole thing (including shower). There is a walk in closet that they should get rid of to make a larger bathroom. The shower had mold and mildew plus a hole near the shower head. If you are even slightly over weight (I'm a size large in clothing) then you will be really uncomfortable using the toilet! The air works great and the water get super hot (which was great)! Good place to stay if you aren't hanging out in the room. The staff was very friendly and accomidating! If it wasn't for the bathroom and the minor noise, I would give it 5 stars.

This hotel is very convenient to the San Francisco airport as well as the Milbrea Bart Station. They have 24 hour airport shuttle that runs every 30 minutes which is great !! There is a complimentary breakfast as well as a full service restaurant and bar. The rooms in the very back of the hotel can be a little noisy due to close proximity to the train tracks. Free parking also. Good place to stay.

Traveling to Mexico the next morning on a 6am flight. Stayed the night before. We have stayed at the El Rancho many times over the past 10 years. Always top notch service. The rooms are clean and the airport shuttle is like clockwork!! You can always count on these folks!

I usually book Best Western when available, this hotel however has not turned out the way I hoped. We decided to stay a bit outside of San Francisco so the hotel wouldn't be so expensive. The rate though was still too high for the comfort of the hotel. The bed was not very comfortable, as were the pillows. The bathroom was very tiny. The room was clean, which made up for a bit of the discomfort. The worst thing was the trains. We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night. (We had a room all the way at the end of the property, very close to the railway) When a trains drives by the windows in the room actually rattle, that with the loud noise from the train have not helped me sleep well. The breakfast snack was not much, it is nice to grab a cup of coffee or tea. Staff in the hotel, breakfast area and front desk were not very friendly. Housekeeping ladies were though.

Adequate property - a bit on the expensive side for value for money. On the positive side, it's close to the airport and has an airport shuttle. The check in was efficient and the rooms in general were adequate. However, ideally for the quality and amenities, this hotel should be 30-40% cheaper

We stay here about once a year in order to visit our children and granddaughter who live in the city.We find the hotel very comfortable and convenient. Everyone tries hard to please the guests. While it isn't exactly upscale or fancy, it is clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. The rooms are very large and well maintained.Breakfast if fine.

No need to lose too many words. We were again totally satisfied. Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff, very good, spacious, clean and quiet room and perfect complimentary breakfast at the restaurant. This was our 4th visit to this hotel, and should we come to SFO again, we will for sure book at El Rancho Inn!

I can't say enough about how great this place is. I am a Best Western VIP member and I always get treated great. The rooms, while not super modern, have incredible comfy charm. I usually get a suite and am never disappointed. The departure snack is ample. And I was pleased this last trip to see that they have included a couple hot options. Thanks El Rancho for decades of great service.

In order to try and be totally objective, the only real advantage for this hotel was its close proximity and shuttle bus to SFO airport. Everything else was very disappointing. Checking delayed due to a BW inspection! So all guests had to wait 30+ minutes to check in. No staff were smiling, apologetic, over helpful. The rooms were very old style, definite need of modernisation. The facilities, including the Terrace Cafe, were very drab, uninspiring, no atmosphere, limited choice of food and drinks. Very disappointing and will recommend to my travel agent not to place guests in this hotel.

We did the park and fly and the price was decent, but the room we received was dark, dingy and in need of upgrading and remodeling. The bed and sheets were clean, but I've stayed in better places. The whole hotel needs an upgrade and new carpets.

This has been a long standing choice for many who need to use Park n Fly out of SFO. It is clean. It is convenient. It has a good travelers light breakfast available included in price. Airport service is every 30 minutes departure. Pick up at SFO dependable although sometimes a little slow. Lots of food choices within walking distance.

Wonderful Employees... rundown hotel. Right beside train tracks ! If you're a light sleeper , request a room in the front. My first night I DIDNT SLEEP AT ALL TRAIN HORNS AND CROSSING BELLS RANG EVERY HOUR on the hour. Which couldn't be drown out by their rattling AC or ear plugs. Besides the staff the only other good thing is the convenience to the airport with their shuttle. Any building behind the 200 bldg wont allow you to sleep... and the pictures are misleading, as it makes it seem like a resort when it's really more like a motel in a parking lot.

This is a very nice hotel. The breakfast isn't stellar - basic carb, fruit and yogurt - but was fine. The hotel room was great. The staff was friendly and attentive. The only downside was waiting 40 minutes for the airport shuttle to pick me up at SFO. The shuttle back to the airport in the morning was great. I would stay here again if I need to overnight between flights in SFO.

So organized. Rooms are dated but clean. Service is amazing. The front desk arranged transportation to the Pier when we cruise and great service to and from the SFAirport when we fly. Breakfast in the morning is fine for us! You can also order a full hot breakfast at your own expense.

I used to LOVE Best Western - but THIS place needs something . . . well . . . better. After taking the El Rancho shuttle from SFO, we were "TRAPPED" by our reservation - to wit, we would NEVER have made this (pre-paid) reservation if we had known that El Rancho has NO luggage carts available. This is a VERY large property with many rooms VERY far from the lobby and upstairs. Hey - we are old, and had LOTS of luggage as we had been traveling for a number of weeks in Europe, and had to schlep them what felt like a quarter-of-a-mile and then upstairs. The room was passable, and the breakfast set-up actually pretty good (fresh, moderately tasty pastries, and other nice goodies), but nothing could make up for our check-in/no luggage help ordeal.

I stayed in this Inn for two nights, it is very good for quick stays like one or two nights. Rooms are very comfortable, breakfast is very small with not much variety, but this is what you get for that price in this area. I enjoyed my stay in this one and would definitely recommend it.

After an international flight, it is grand to look forward to staying at the El Rancho and driving home in the morning, after a good night's sleep. The car service is we'll orchestrated and the rooms are comfortable and reasonably priced.

An over night stay before catching a flight to SFO. The staff was friendly and arranged shuttle pick and drop of to the airport. I wasn't very impressed with the included breakfast and I felt the room was a little pricey but worth not fighting commuter traffic.

The room was not very spacious, but it was very clean.The restaurant on the premises was a little overpriced for average food.The front desk staff was very courteous, knowledgeable and efficient.Would definitely recommend.

We stayed one night for an early morning flight. The person who checked us in was extremely nice and helpful. The shuttle driver who picked us up after we returned our rental car was incredibly nice and friendly. The shuttle driver the next morning picked us up in front of our room at 3:00 AM in order to make our early morning flight. There are many stores within walking distance where you can find any items you may need - turn left out of the parking lot to find a great shopping area behind Office Depot. Clean updated rooms, friendly staff and location add up to make this hotel the best place to stay near the airport!

While the hotel itself is a tad dated, you can't beat the El Rancho for easy travel out of SFO. We were able to leave our car there and use their shuttle to SFO for a trip to Europe. When we returned 10 days later, our car was parked right in front of our room and we got a good night's sleep before driving 3 hours home. They've been offering park and fly for years and they've got it down to a well oiled machine. It was a stress free, economical way to deal with travel and we'll do it again next time we travel out of SFO.

This was my first time doing a park/sleep/fly trip. I was initially a little apprehensive. After I saw how flawlessly everything was done I was super pleased with my decision. Upon arrival and check in we were greeted immediately, check in was handled rapidly and procedures were well explained. The shuttle was on time and got us to the airport in plenty of time. Our return trip went equally as flawless. All employees that we met were wonderful to deal with. The room was of sufficient size and very clean and nicely appointed. The breakfast was quite good and enjoyable..

Had a wonderful stay and my car was in front of my room when I got back to spend the night...perfect. Our plane was delayed and had to make some changes in our stay times and it was smooth and easy. Thanks for a clean, comfortable room with above and beyond service! Dinner was great and service the best. Safe, clean, easy and economical. What more could you ask.

We've stayed her almost a dozen times over the last 20+ years. I have to iterate it is the perfect place to leave your car when traveling for over a week and leaving early out of SFO. Your car will be waiting for you when you get back and the rates make it reasonable enough where you get a nights stay and you don't have to pay for the more expensive airport parking. The rooms are clean and the shuttle runs frequently (about every half an hour I believe).

My husband, two sons and I stayed at this hotel about a week ago and to be honest we were allocated an awful room overlooking a junk yard and near a noisy train line. The room was tiny and the beds even more so. The door to the unit had a large spider web growing on the corner and when we open ended the door the smell was of very stale and musty air. The windows couldn't open and we all had a bad night thinking of what we were breathing in through the air conditioning. The breakfast was served over two rooms but we weren't told that so we only noticed the eggs section after we had finished eating. However after I had completed the survey I received a very nice letter from Mr Rogers Macon apologizing for our less than pleasant stay and asking us to come back if we could to give them a second chance. Well we had to stay close to the SF airport one more time so elected to come back here and all I can say is wow! The service from Jessa was great, we have been allocated a wonderful room where the windows open, the air is clean and the bed super comfortable- thank you to all at Best Western for the great service and I am happy I can write a great review

The staff is Wonderful here. Everyone goes above and beyond to make life easier on us. We Love our El Rancho Family. We stay there every other weekend for work and Love how much Love their Staff gives us. Everyone not just the front office Everyone.

We've used the El Rancho many times for one to two week vacations. (I think they charge extra for cars left over two weeks.) It's easy, it's convenient. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the airport shuttle runs every half hour. Sometimes it's more of a wait at the airport on the return trip, but all in all it's a great deal.

Room was comfortable and clean. Very convenient for leaving your car and taking the shuttle to the airport. Continental breakfast starts at 4:30 am till 9:30 am. Many bakery goods are wrapped in plastic for your convenience for traveling. Nothing special with the breakfast, just home cooking stuff. Toast and bagels, mini egg thingy, yogurt, cereal, hard boil eggs, and oatmeal.

Just ten minutes from the airport, lots of rooms, parking lots, a washing machine/dryer and a restaurant with a great breakfast where you can meet a lot of people coming in from Hawaii. Nothing to complain about really. A little bit difficult for traveling with small kids though as the cribs are the old ones with metal bars. Used this hotel for my arrival and departure connection to SFO Airport. It is really close by without the noise of the airport! Rooms are fine and staff are friendly. Food at breakfast is plenty. In all a good experience!

We chose this hotel so that we can stay near the airport to catch our flight on the next day. The hotel provides free shuttle service to the San Francisco International Airport. It also provide free on site parking. The rooms were of good size, with complimentary coffee and tea. The bed was comfortable. We also had a simple breakfast provided on the day of departure. Rooms come with air conditioning. That's great. The thing to note is that the hotel is right next to the train line. Whenever the train pass by, it will sound the siren. Can be disturbing but you get used to it. Just across the road, you can find a Safeway supermarket. You get a good selection of restaurants. This is a good location. I would certainly recommend staying at this venue for people who are choosing to stay near the airport to catch flights.

The hotel is well located, and has a shuttle bus from the airport. A free breakfast is available in the restaurant. The rooms are ok, HOWEVER be aware that while the rooms are being serviced I observed the rooms are left open and unattended. Our room was at the rear overlooking a junk yard, and while we were out some of our credit cards vanished from our room, and were immediately used fraudulently. I believe management when they said that it would not be houskeeping, I believe it was someone from outside who took advantage of the lack of security

We had a great return visit to the El Rancho Inn in Millbrae. Sorry to hear it is to be torn down sometime soon. Small but comfortable rooms. Loved the pool. Everyone was friendly and easy to work with. Wish we would have thought to take the free shuttle to the airport, could have caught the Bart from there instead of using Uber to the nearby station.

Stayed here a few years ago because of the park and fly deal. They have spent some time an money bringing this place up to a top choice. Very comfortable rooms, nice beds with choices of firmness on the pillows. Easy park and fly service for up to 10 days. Nice bar with a window into the pool.

The Best Western Plus El Rancho Inn is the best in class and probably the best hotel I have stayed in. There is an amazing staff, (and multiple members at the busy times) that quickly checks you in/checks you out/answers questions. The free cookies and the small gift for members was much appreciated. The free airport shuttle is amazingly quick - and I mean unbelievably quick to pick you up and drop you off at the hotel. The room was large and quiet. It appeared to have been recently remodeled. The free breakfast was AMAZING, with ample seating for everyone. The bar was great. The drinks prices and meal prices, (at the bar were fair). The staff was amazingly friendly.

Good hotel to stay in if you're flying in or out of SFO. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport, which is only about 10-15 minutes away. Check-in was quick and easy. The room we had was quite small, but it was only for one night and it was clean. There is a restaurant and a nice bar area on site. Also, a shopping complex about five minutes down the road.

A nice motel outside SF close to the airport SFO. Typically used by travelers staying 1 or 2 nights for coming or going to SFO. Benefits: Tidy and nice rooms with daily service; free airport shuttle; 15 minutes walk to BART and train station; Good early served breakfast including boiled and scrambled eggs; Friendly, supportive, and patient staff at the reception; Good WiFi; Guest PC with printer in lobby. Cons: Expensive regard to price-performance ratio; Breakfast: one way paper plates/cups and plastic cutlery - I would like to see environment friendly reusable tableware for the high room rate; Noise from railway nearby in the night.

I pick this place because of location we were at the airport in minutes. The grounds are very good and accommodate a scooter for a handicap person. The restaurant and bar were great we could have our dinner there. We did the park fly and sleep and at first I booked it with Parksleepfly.com and they charge 50.00 for that service but I needed a handicap room for my husband and called the hotel. They cancelled the reservation through them and I booked with the hotel and had all my husbands needs taken care of for the trip with them personally. We saved $50.00. They paid for the special shuttle with the lift for a scooter. It was a great start to the trip and coming back was taken care of. We would do this again my car was taken care of. Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rooms are average with cleanliness factor (due to the carpets) below preferred levels. The free breakfast is nothing to speak about. The restaurant and bar are good. The most facorable factor for this hotel is the location. Else, I wouldn't stay.

This is an old hotel, but in a great location near SFO. The price of the one night room plus 2 weeks parking is the best I have found near SFO. The rooms are clean but smell musty until the AC is run. They all contain a refrigerator, and for an upgrade there are a few rooms with full kitchens. There are scheduled shuttles 24 hours to SFO, and convenient pickups at the airport, although sometimes with a 15 minute wait. Shuttle brings you right to your car; very convenient. Continental breakfast is available from early AM for early fliers and is included. AC works but a bit noisy.

There are too many other park and fly options in the SF airport area for me to stay here again. At check in staff were not helpful explaining their specific park and fly process, just handed me paperwork to read. There is no elevelvator (and this was not explained to me when I was asked if upstairs was ok) for the 200 building where my room was, so I lugged my heavy suitcase up the stairs by myself. The only thing check in staff made perfectly clear to me was that I paid A LOT more for my stay because I didn't book directly. The BW website does not have the navigation to book a park and fly with a room on each end of your trip. She also told me I wouldn't be getting my full BW reward points because I didn't book directly. The room smelled of mold and the public transit train station near by is very loud. The shuttle for the airport is 24 hours and was on time. I was not able to take advantage of the Grab n Go breakfast on departure because it is not 24 hours. Your car most likely does not stay on site while you are away - this was not explained to me at the time of booking. Upon my return, it was dark, late, and cold so the shuttle pick up (about 25 minutes) felt like an eternity. The driver, however, was very helpful and friendly. The room on my return was downstairs (thankfully) and did not smell heavily of mold. The shower was a nightmare with no water mixiing valve. The water was either ice cold or scalding hot.

We had an ok stay at the Best Western Plus El Rancho Inn. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean, the A/C worked well and the shower was adequate. Quite pricey for what we experienced, but it was somewhat expected for a hotel out by the airport.

Rooms were acceptable if a bit plain. Beds and pillows were comfy. Staff was great, very courteous and helpful. Top notch Park and Fly service including car parked at room upon return, express checkin and room drop off.

We stayed here one night only as we were flying to France the next day. We left our car with the hotel - 10 days are included (not including the night you stay in the hotel) with your stay. The Inn itself was pretty big and the breakfast included was okay - typical cereal, yogurt, boiled eggs, breads, etc... My only issue was that when I signed the paperwork for my car storage you give up any claims to their responsibility for you car. That seemed a bit of an overreach to me, being that I didn't see that on their website and I am giving them my key to my car. I even made the reservation on the phone with a real person and there was no mention that they would not be responsible for any damage to my car for the duration of its storage. Anyway, a shuttle comes by to take you to the airport and upon return, you call the number on the receipt they give you and they come pick you up and take you to your car.

We used this hotel for a one night layover before catching a flight at San Francisco Airport. Very good service by hotel staff. Rooms where large and very clean. Restaurant served nice food. The hotel also offers free airport transfers

When my family and I arrived at 1 a.m. in the morning from a 9-hour trip we noticed in our sheets we noticed pieces of bitten apples and bread crumbs it was disgusting we paid a lot for what we got and horrible checkout experience. The only thing they did for us was give us $20 discount. We stayed there before and it has been a great experience but this time was a horrible experience

The reception desk staff were lovely. The room was large and a bit tired (especially the bathroom) - needs an update. A continental breakfast is included. It was ok. The hotel is about 4 miles from the air train & reception gave us a map of how to get to the car rental return place. That part was easy & the hotel served our purpose. One complaint: There was no remote in the room for the tv. We could & did use the buttons on the tv to turn it on & change channels, but it was inconvenient. My husband told the front desk & asked for someone to give us a remote to operate the tv. The man who arrived didn't seem to speak English &/or be able to take in that the tv (which was on when he arrived) was working fine, we just needed the remote. He dithered around turning the tv on & off, which was just weird & changing channels w/ the remote he brought & eventually said he'd be back, even though we asked if he could just leave the remote on his hand. He did come back about 5 minutes later & gave us his remote. He barely spoke & did not respond to our questions. I felt ok because my husband was in the room, but if I'd have been traveling alone, I would have felt creeped out & threatened by this man's odd manner.

Over the years we have taken advantage of El Rancho's Park and Fly plan and have just thought of it as an easy placeto stay. This year we we totally pleased by the high level of maintenance, the friendliness of the front desk staff and the absolutely spotless well-appointed room. Canalso recommend the which has an excellent menu and a super friendly waitstaff. Bottom line: A great place to stay, a park and fly option for avery reasonable price, all just minutes to SFO via their on-time shuttle.

My wife and I were very pleased with our 2 day stay at this property. I was driving a 15 passenger van so I needed extra parking space which was a big positive. The staff at the front desk were wonderful. We had a very request with Vickie who went average and beyond to handle. She also recommended that we take the train to the Giants versus Cubs game at ATT park given we were drive a large van. Great suggestion that we took. The free breakfast was outstanding in the offering and the setting inside and out was very nice. We used the pool that was very clean after an afternoon at the baseball park. We highly recommend this hotel and location that is a short drive to San Francisco vacation sites.

I decide to try this hotel from previous experiences and followed the reviews, so here is my review: Hotel location in South SFO, mid upper class area, safe and clean, lots of choices to different needs. Just the walking distance to the closest train station is about like 2 miles.. but ok, hotel can provide you a quick ride there. Several train/metro (BART) stations to rich north SFO where most of the touristic areas are. Friendly staff and clean hotel, nice bed and overall I would rate this with a 99%. Better than other best western hotels I've been before. I would recommend it for everyone and to stay longer days , I did only two nights and it was great hospitality.

The property is situated in a great neighborhood and close to the airport. The amenities are pretty good: small workout room, outdoor pool, clean rooms. They have complimentary departure food early in the morning, too (starting at 4:30 am!). The hotel is close to traintracks, so you can hear trains coming through, but it's not too much of a noise issue.

Stayed the night before our flight from SFO to Mexico. Shuttle took us to the airport at 4:30am and stored our car securely for the week. When we arrived back from our trip all we had to do was make a phone call and we were picked up at the airport and delivered to our car. Hotel was very clean and staff was very professional and accommodating. Will definitely stay again.

One of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. There just one night for early SFO flight the next am. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Restful and refreshing. Highly impressed, well more than what I was expecting!

The El Rancho is convenient for the airport and our room was clean, cool and comfortable. But we were baffled that our request for a quiet room was answered by accommodation in one of the rear blocks, right next door to a busy commuter railway line. Worse still, every train blew its horn as it approached the adjoining level crossing. Trains services went on until late and started early. I suppose we could have asked to be moved, but quite frankly, after an 11 hour flight, we lacked the energy! There was good consolation the following morning, however, when we opted for the paid for breakfast and enjoyed excellent service, good coffee and freshly cooked delicious food.

My partner and I fly out of San Francisco several times a year. We live in Mendocino, so it's a long drive to the airport. If it's a morning flight, we stay near the airport the night before. The Best Western El Rancho is by far the best Park & Fly we've tried. You can choose to stay overnight either at the beginning or the end of your trip. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The shuttle is prompt and well organized. On our last trip, to Germany and France, we stayed overnight on our return. The shuttle driver gave us the key and took us directly to the room. Our car was parked right outside, ready for the drive home the next day. What a relief it was to have everything ready and in place after the long flight home! There is a good restaurant and bar on the grounds and a complementary breakfast. In short, the El Rancho really has it's act together and we'll stay there again.

10 min drive (or shuttle) from SFO. Parking can be an issue if only staying a night as they offer long-term parking and the place fills up. Room w 2 queen size beds was roomy enough. Hotel is a sprawling 2 or 3 storey complex and rooms at the very back are right beside train tracks. I sleep with ear plugs and the room did seem well insulated but could be an issue for some. Drops to a 3-star as a member of our party arrived SFO @ 11pm and shuttle driver was particularly rude. Friend got confused between the 2 Best Western hotel locations and said he would call to confirm and driver told him he couldn't wait and left him at the airport for the next shuttle to pick him up. After a 5.5 hour cross country flight, not the kind of welcome to begin the holiday.

Meeting friends for a wine country vacation and needed to fly in the night before. The hotel has quite a history (one of the buildings dates back to 1895 I believe), but it is well maintained, they have a free airport shuttle and the staff is wonderful. Had a nice dinner at the bar (sadly, not the underwater bar) and Marco was wonderful even though he was alone on his shift. The next morning I complimented the gracious staff who miraculously transformed the bar into a very full "Departures" buffet - and kept it neat and filled the whole time. Well done, everyone.

We chose this hotel based on decent ratings from TA and the fact they had their own Airport service vans for transportation to/from the San Francisco airport. We arrived and were promptly checked in and given quick and easy directions for returning our rental car to SFO. We were also signed up for the shuttle the next morning (Note: it runs every 30 minutes and you are wise to sign up in advance--no fee). We returned our car, called the shuttle per instructions, waited about 20 minutes and were taken back to the hotel after a few other pick up stops at the airport. Again, if you are planning on taking the shuttle FROM the airport, to the hotel, call the shuttle number as there are a limited number of seats! Note: the hotel has no elevators so if you are not mobile, request a ground floor room when you book. Also, all rooms open to the outside corridors. Bonus: We were told that cars can be left here instead of at the airport when traveling for a considerable sum less than airport fees. Check the hotel for details.

This is the first time we did the park-sleep-fly thing. Highly recommend it! Staff was efficient & knowledgeable. Room clean, comfortable. Bar/Restaurant good. Breakfast "snack" nice & easy. Drivers good getting us there and then picking us up from the airport.

I used Park-Sleep-Fly to arrange this stay. TEN days of free parking with at least one day's stay on either end of the trip. I'm really glad I opted for staying overnight on BOTH ends of my trip since I had been traveling for about 29 hours when I finally arrived back at the hotel! Decent no-frills room, breakfast snacks (Not a full breakfast but adequate with instant oatmeal, yogurt, cereal and coffee). A decent value.

We loved our two night stay at this conveniently located (from airport) hotel. It was a total throwback to my childhood, when we would regularly stay in roadside motels with outside hallways, only this was way nicer than any I've ever seen. We have been using the El Rancho Inn for their "Park and Fly" package for over 30 years when we fly out of SFO. They never disappoint. The grounds are well kept, the employees pleasant (even the shuttle driver at 4AM!), and the rooms are very nice. We never have had to worry about leaving our car there for an extended period and the shuttle is quick and fast to San Francisco Airport. The bar, restaurant and pool are also very nice.

this is an excellent option to the SF international parking issues and costs. We use this motel every time we chose to fly out of SF. The rooms are very comfortable with WiFi and surprisingly quiet and has the option of a wonderful complimentary Continental breakfast. The car has always been monitored and has never been tampered with during our absences. They have a complimentary van drop-off to and from the airport and runs every 30 minutes.

Convenient to airport, lots of shuttles, safe place, car parked outside room when I arrive back. and key handed to me as shuttle stope outside room. Good restaurants nearby, and a Trader Joe's. Car is safe and staff always helpful.

I stayed in this motel around 10 hrs on a stopoverflight from Australia to Montreal. It was so good to have a sleep in a nice, clean room in a comfortable bed after 18 hours of flying. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport even when I left at 4.30am in the morning - a very efficient and friendly service. The restaurant on site served very nice food. There were also shops across the road if a longer stay was required. A perfect location near airport at a reasonable cost.

Good stay overall. All we needed was to crash for one night. Hotel room was in good conditions and clean. Just make sure you're not in the building all the way in the back as the train will keep waking you up.

Arrived in SFO late in the night on the first day of vacation and just needed a place to sleep before having to return to the airport to pick up a rental car and leave town for Yosemite. The Best Western El Rancho was a great choice -- it was super easy to grab a shuttle and was only 10 minutes to the hotel from the airport. The room met our needs and there is elevator access to the second floor if you find yourself up there. The complex is quite large with several different buildings, so if you have mobility issues, you may want to make sure that you are closer to the lobby / restaurant. We had a quick breakfast -- the free breakfast is actually quite good with a selection of eggs / waffles / fruit / cereals and muffins in a nice breakfast environment, although it was quite busy when we were there. On the tail end of our trip, we returned to El Rancho for an additional two nights as the base for our San Francisco explorations. The hotel met our needs for this quite well -- the free shuttle to the airport (5-20 minutes, depending on the # of stops needed to pick up other guests) worked well to bring us to the BART, then it was a quick and easy 30 minutes right into Powell station near Union Square. At the airport, you can call the hotel for free on a phone right at the arrivals outside door # 2 at the international arrivals. The longest we waited for a shuttle was 20 minutes. We did a have a problem with some noise on that second stay, however, since the shuttle picks passengers up at their "building" -- so a group of rather loud people being picked up at 4am decided to chat and laugh right outside our door while they waited for the shuttle. This is not the hotel's fault per se, but having a shuttle pick-up outside guest rooms at unreasonable hours is bound to be trouble -- perhaps having the pick up spot across the lane would be better so that there is some distance between chatters waiting to be picked up and those expecting to sleep at 4am. Other than that, though, the rooms were quiet. There are some restaurants within walking distance around the hotel but mostly fast food spots. We didn't take advantage of the pool but it looked great and welcoming. Overall, this is a nice complex with nice, accommodating staff and I would recommend it for a San Francisco stay.

Kind of a disappointment from the pictures and the reviews. Not what I expected as a 4 star motel. People coming and going all night long with large vans with instruments waking you up. Would not go again

What a nice hotel we stayed for 3 nights at the start of our vacation a party of 4 me and my partner and her daughter and boyfriend two rooms which the were next door to one another which is always nice.Firstly the hotel shuttle from and to the airport so easy to use came out of the arrivals hall and there are phones across from there to ring the hotel and told me it would be about 15 mins and where there in 5,and back to the airport you tell reception what time you would like it and they pick you up at your room happy days.As we were staying here it was so easy to use the BART $10.50 return from the bart station which is about 10 to 15 min walk away and safe at night as we returned back about 23.00 on two nights.the rooms just what we wanted tidy and clean and comfortable breakfast was also good for what we wanted being up early to get into San Francisco to sight see.So if we was going back to the area yes we would definitely stay here and would recommend to friends from the UK.

This property was amazing. It is a motel type property in a Spanish style. It has a small outdoor pool (which I did not use due to cold weather and short time), an onsite restaurant, and a fitness room (which I also did not use). When I walked into my room, I was happily surprised by the little kitchenette and the queen size sofa bed in the separate living area. I was also happy with the what they refer to as the breakfast snack. The only differences between the traditional complimentary breakfast and the breakfast snack offered at this property is that the traditional breakfast comes with waffles, bacon and eggs, and the snack version did not. Personally, I was fine with it. Instead, they offered mini egg and ham omelette puffs, yogurt, cereal, pastries, fresh fruit, bagels and cream cheese, toast,, coffee, milk, and orange juice. I don't care about decor if it is clean, but some people might think the decor in the restaurant and the room are dated. In the bathroom of our suite, they did an upgrade, rather than a full gut which is obvious by the leftover (and poor) placement of the towel bar. Also, they may have had the previous tub lined as their seemed to be a very large air bubble between the liner and the bottom of the tub. Other than that, I was immensely pleased with the location, and the staff were very nice as well.

Excellent hotel. Cal-train horn annoying and quite loud in our room which faced a street crossing the cal-train tracks. Noise of train horn likely less annoying in other areas of motel not facing this crossing.

It was an overnight stay and park deal that was better than the other two places we've used. Turns out--this is the best for cleanliness, great dinner and breakfast options, shuttle to airport and return.

Room was very comfortable for our overnight stay. Only issue we had was that our room was the last room in the motel like facility and close to the railway track that the BART system used. Until midnight, every few minutes there was the loud sound of the train going past the hotel. Started again early in the morning. When booking, ask for a room away from the tracks. Otherwise, room very clean, wifi was fine, breakfast was good. Staff attentive. There is a shuttle service to the airport every half hour. We arrived quite late and tired so we took a cab. Charge was $15.00

Fast check-in, comfortable room, good free breakfast, excellent airport shuttle service. The only issue was I was unaware the hotel moves vehicles offsite for your parking stay. Fortunately, my vehicle came back without any damage to the new paint. Quiet hotel-will use again and have already booked our next stay.

Have stayed here 6-7 times. Super convenient for flying from SFO. Rooms updated with shutters and comfy beds. Showers are older style entirely tiled including the ceiling, very clean. Shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes to the airport and if you have a late arriving flight, you call and they come right away to get you. We love not being stressed driving to the airport and come the night before so we can be stress free.

Overnight between flights and fairly close to the airport. This is an older property in typical California style. Room was very clean and comfortable ,particularly liked labels on the pillows "soft or firm". A complete mini breakfast surely gets you going. This is a very spread out hotel and the airport van picks you up at your room. Good idea.

Nice quiet room, a little on the compact side but completely serviceable. After a long international flight we just needed a place to collapse. Filled the bill nicely. Convenient shuttle service seals the deal.

Leave your car here! Great place to stay; very convenient and affordable. Clean rooms with comfy beds. We'll definitely be back. Friendly staff; breakfast foods available very early to prevent overpaying at the airport.

We arrived late afternoon, checked in and left our car for several days. A shuttle took us to SFO within a few minutes of arriving. On our return, we called the hotel at 1:30AM and were given directions to the shuttle pick-up point. We handed the driver a form that we received from the front desk on check-in and the driver took us directly to our car that was parked directly in front of our reserved room. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was quiet. Check-out was not until 12:00 so we didn't have to rush in the morning. We had a late breakfast (10:00) in the restaurant. It was very reasonably priced and we thought it was just perfect. The location and service are great. We hope to stay there again.

Got to San Francisco a day before my friends and needed a place to wait for them and rest. Arrived at the hotel at 1pm and asked what the earliest time I could check in was. The woman at the front desk was able to accommodate me immediately, signed me up for the Best Western Rewards Program, and provided me with literature on points of interest in the area so I could do some research while I waited. When I got to my room, I decided to take a quick nap and ended up sleeping for 9 hours due to the comfort of the bed and quiet location of my room. When I woke up I took a shower, watched TV for about an hour, and went back to sleep for another 9 hours! I still had time to kill so went to the restaurant for breakfast. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully. With some time to kill, I went and sat in the lobby and ended up having a friendly conversation with an employee who turned out to be a Navy veteran for 30 minutes or so before heading to the lounge. I found a comfortable couch where I read for a couple hours until the bartender came in to set up so moved to the bar and ended up having a great conversation with him as well, while sipping on a pineapple - jalapeno margarita which was so good that I didn't want to leave when my friends finally landed after encountering a flight delay on the way from New England. I would come back to this hotel over and over again on my way into or out of San Francisco airport!

Rooms getting long in the tooth. Well organized for the traveler flying out and leaving car. Mix up in the office and i ended up paying twice for my room.Watch what they charge you. Wifi is the average slow internet.

we stayed in the hotel for two night for a business trip, the guys in the reception were very nice and helpful, the room is big enough, but the shower and toilet are very small. room was clean and breakfast was basic, we paid $296 per night it is overpriced. overall the hotel is ok-

My husband and I have stayed at this charming hotel a few times when we are visiting relatives who live nearby. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. The restaurant crew were warm and friendly and eager to accommodate us. The office staff was helpful and efficient.

We highly recommend this hotel for park n fly . Super helpful, seamless in everything and the room was such a pleasant surprise to come into at 11:45pm after flying all day. They did everything they said they would. Literally delivered to our hotel room door and our car was right next to it. Great Service.

We stayed at hotel and used the park and fly program. The shuttle drivers were prompt and friendly. The hotel rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly. The morning breakfast, coffee and snacks were a added bonus

Best Western Plus El Rancho Inn Millbrae Wonderful staff 570483668 The motel was nice and the hotel staff was very friendly. Vickie at the front desk was very helpful when renting cars and traveling to San Francisco from the hotel. The rooms were comfortable as we only needed the bed. We were given an upgrade the last two nights as we are BW rewards members. Overall a nice place to stay. Previous stars was an error and I tried to edit it without success. I rate this a 5.

After a 2 night stay in downtown San Francisco at the Orchard, we transported to the Best Western Plus El Rancho- booked via Expedia chosen based on price. The El Ranch is recently remodeled. It is a spread out motel with outside room entrances. The property has good curb appeal given its age. The room remodels were well thought out providing comfort. The down side is the ventelation system ( at least in our room for the one windy night we were there) very loud very disruptive. Room lay out and storage are adequate bedding is quite comfortable. We like many others were in Millbrae to be closer to SFO for an early morning flight. The free shuttle leaves every half hour 24/7. The shuttle serves multiple Millbrae properties which lengthens to shuttle time but is quite efficient. Overall. if I were to return to Millbrae again I would consider the Best Western Plus El Rancho

Pluses: plenty of parking, breakfast (sorry, "departure snack") available from 4:30 am, comfortable room. 12-minute trip to rental car return at the airport, gas stations close by (also a drug store and a Trader Joe's). Good prices available on the discounter sites. Minuses: slow-draining bathtub, someone else's hair on the bathroom floor. But we'd most likely stay here again when we have an early morning departure from SFO.

This is a great, comfortable hotel. We chose to stay at this hotel as we were leaving for a trip to Belgium and wanted to spend the night prior to our early morning departure close to the airport. We chose this hotel because they offered free shuttle to/from the airport AND park and fly service, so we could leave our car parked at the hotel during the duration of our trip. It was everything we were looking for! And it is a well-kept, clean hotel with lots of amenities. And they even offer a boxed breakfast to go that you can pick up and take with you if you don't have time for a sit-down breakfast the morning of your trip!

Location, shuttle service, grounds, breakfast...all make the BW+El Rancho perfect for anyone using SFO. Right after we arrived we dropped off our car at the airport and got shuttle service back to the hotel. That was so appreciated and worked flawlessly after requesting pick up from the front desk. We asked for a quiet room upon making our reservations and actually got one. It was so nice to have a good night's sleep before leaving for the East Coast in the morning. The breakfast with fresh fruit, protein options, super cleanliness and efficient attendants, and a 4:30 start to breakfast made it clear that this location is skilled with understanding the needs of airport travelers. We had one glitch which could be a real problem for some. Our shuttle driver arrived 20 minutes early...we were watching out the window and saw him go sailing by for the far end of the complex, where he stopped and filled up the van with guests and suitcases who scurried out from surrounding rooms. We had given ourselves an extra hour to make our flight, so, with the help of the front desk, we were able to get on the next shuttle and arrive in plenty of time. We suggest that you get some reassurance about the morning shuttle service time. With that done, you should have a great experience. And join BW rewards...the points never expire.

This was our second time staying here. This hotel has such a great system for a room & parking your car during a trip out of SFO. The breakfast starts early, and the shuttle drivers are great...they pick you up right outside your room, and drop you off at your car when you return. It's like a well-oiled machine and staff is all really nice. Restaurants closeby. Pool is fun for kids, small hot tub.

We had a 3pm flight to Europe from SFO. Arrived here the evening before and checked in. We were taking advantage of the 10 day included parking in the one night room price. The room was clean, large and comfortable. We visited the bar for nightcap. Some munchies/finger food on the menu would be good. Wound up at the vending machine. Travel day was great. Very good hot complimentary breakfast, shuttle waiting to take us to departure terminal. Return was even easier. The driver found us, loaded our bags and took us direct to our car at the hotel. A wonderful way to start a vacation!

The quaint architecture of this very large sprawling inn is appealing. The front desk staff was competent and pleasant. It was a long walk to our chosen ground floor room, which was well maintained and comfortable. The restaurant on grounds offers a breakfast box for travelers, which we did not realize until it was time to board the airport shuttle. Very convenient to the San Francisco airport. My previous visit to this place was more than 15 years ago, and it was a pleasure to see that high standards have been maintained.

Staying in the bay area is very expensive. This hotel is not fancy and your first impression from the outside might not be a great location. But it is close to the airport and the rooms are clean, beds are nice, So it provides a value in the bay area. I was a little disappointed because on Hotels.com the advertisement says there is a shuttle and there is not. Overall for the money it's a good choice.

Had an unexpected layover in San Francisco. The hotel staff was professional, courteous and even send a shuttle immediately to pick us up at the airport. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was ample and filling. Then they shuttled us back to our terminal. All included in a competitive price!

We have stayed here for over twenty years as a departure hotel when traveling to Europe or other US destinations. They have a great deal on Park and Fly and if you stay there when you return from SF Airport, your vehicle will be parked directly in front of your room. The hotel bar and restaurant are good and you can get food in the cocktail lounge. We only rate this hotel as average now as the rooms, beds are dated. Our beds were worn out and need to be replaced. Also, it has been quite awhile since the carpets have been updated and there is an "old motel" odor in the rooms we have stayed in, particularly when first entering the rooms. The AC seems to help with this once it gets going. In spite of this, we will continue to stay there because of the convenience of park and fly and their shuttle airport service.

Clean motel. They picked us up at our room to take us to the airport which was a nice touch. My frustration was upon returning from a long international flight. They give you a slip of paper with your car number on it and the phone number to the hotel. So that you can call them to pick you up and get your car. I was exhausted after a long flight and called the number. The phone range for at least ten minutes. I finally hung up and dialed again, this time someone answered after to about 5 minutes and put me on hold immediately. After a few minutes, I told my son to try calling the number. He called and after the phone ringing for a couple of minutes, someone answered and took our information. Frustrating when you are tired and just want to go home! Answer the darn phone!!! If they had done a better job on the return I would have given them 4 stars.

Have stayed here several times, and found it disappointing this time. Shuttle owner says new owners have made many changes. Convenience to airport and frequent shuttle have made this my first choice in the past. Rates have increased significantly since my last visit, and the pre-departure breakfast snack went from best ever to less than mediocre with lukewarm food, indifferent staff, limited selections. Check in fast and efficient, shuttle driver helpful, and appreciated the new elevators with access to second floor. Also like being able to walk to Safeway, Trader Joe's and a drugstore and shops. There are restaurants at El Rancho and within walking distance but we opted to snack in the room. Rooms are dated but clean and very spacious.

I have stayed here many times for the Park and Fly program but this time I was pretty disappointed. The gal who checked me in late Tuesday the 13th of March was really nice and I had a great bartender at the restaurant who was really nice. Then I got up in the morning to catch the shuttle at 6am and decided to wait in the lobby since it was really cold and rainy outside. The angry gal working at the counter was extremely rude and totally put out by the fact that she had to call the shuttle driver to let him know I was in the lobby waiting for him to swing by to get me. I was shocked at the rudeness really. The shuttle driver was no better. Thankfully there are more hotels that are offering Park and Fly now, I will be rethinking where I stay when I go on vacation next time.
