    « It is Basic »

It is a very basic hotel. You don't even get tea and coffee in your room you have to ask for it at the reception. The staff are lovely which is a redeeming feature. The location is ok and it is central. The room is clean and the sitting area in the foyer is comfortable. You get free wi fi. Take your own shampoo the free stuff is awful!

« If you like a nice hotel, don't bother with this one! »

We stayed here for business/holiday - location was the only thing that was OK. Otherwise it's horrible! You could hear EVERYTHING in our room - from the guy singing in the shower next door, to people going to the toilet, creeks and bangs along with the noise on the street. The whole place and rooms are VERY dated and shabby, bathrooms old and bedding not so nice. If you want to use the wifi you need to personally go down stairs and collect a docket to log in for each electronic device. Very old school and not appealing. The staff aren't helpful and we witnessed the staff arguing and being rude to guests. The buffet breakfast wasn't appealing at all. Simple scrambled eggs was obviously not the chefs forte, and struggled to find anything decent. Would not recommend at all!

« Good location, basic hotel »

A short walk from the Galleria and Duomo, and not far from La Scala - so the location is excellent. Room was clean and simple. Bed comfortable enough, but the wi-fi was far from reliable and clunky at best (a problem as I was in Milan for work). Breakfast was adequate apart from truly awful instant coffee - in Italy! I would stay here again if needs be, but there are more attractive alternatives. Nice and helpful staff. The restaurant recommended by the front of house manager was excellent!

    « Clean hotel by a tramline »

Hotel Ascot is well situated, just two tram stops from the Duomo. It is clean, well functioning, and businesslike, but not specially charming from the outside. The room was a little chilly when the the autumn was beginning. The breakfast is excellent!

    « Good Value »

We had a big room and bathroom. Location is amazing 10 minute walk to main attractions or close to bus/metro. Breakfast buffet not great but fine for a cup of coffee and snack. Front staff helpful and friendly with good English

« Basic hotel with excellent position »

Thanks to the street signs it's quite easy to find the hotel. Location is excellent - only 5 minutes walk from Duomo and Gallery Vittorio Emanuele, 10 minutes walk from Navigli... Reception needs a good renovation, rooms are a bit out of date, but quite comfortable for Milanese and Italian standards. Furniture needs to be replaced, but the bathroom was big enough (this comment comes from a quite large man) and well equipped. Buffet breakfast was basic: if you're into croissants, buns and stuff - you'll be delighted. Plenty of fruit, though, and waiters keep refilling constantly. Also, there are several good restaurants nearby, as well as couple of supermarkets. Staff was great: old school crew, my very best regards to them - so helpful and kind! I'm so sorry that I didn't manage to remember their names, so I could plaud them by name. All in all - if you're looking for a decent accommodation with good location and helpful staff - do consider this hotel.

« near the Duome of Milan »

This 4 star hotel is ok, could be more up to date, littlebit missing in cleanliness. Our room was not big, but a nice bathroom witn a shower, and a nice big bed. Just a few minutes to the dome of Milan. next to a indoor parking. The staff was realy helpful and nice. The breakfast buffet was realy good and well up to standard. we clearly would come again in a visit to Milan.

« Average hotel with a great location »

It's a average hotel. The rooms have enough space for a couple even three people. The location is great because we could go to Duomo every time by foot in lovely streets. The breakfast is served in a small area but has a good quality. In my point of view the hotel is good for small vacation or a business trip

« Good hotel near the center of Milan »

If you need to travel in Mialn staying in the center of the city, this is a good choice. Rooms are not so "new" but really clean and confortable. Minibar with a good choice of beverage. Restaurants around the hotel are really good and not so expensive. Duomo is 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The zone is really confortable and no traffic/noise can be heard

« Good stay for business trip »

I stayed here two weeks on business trip. The pro's are the great breakfast, quality food and variety, central location, close to metro, very kind personel. One negative is for the small rooms which are basic, maybe could be updated a little bit. I recommend it for business trips and to couples, not quite for families.

    « our go-to in Milan »

We have been coming to this hotel for years. It is the hotel we stay at most often when we cannot stay with family and we have never been disappointed. It is walking distance to the Duomo but in a quiet neighborhood. Also an easy but longer walk to the Navigli area. There is a great Sardinian restaurant just one block away. The rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is kind and very attentive. We stayed here last week and one of my kids left his Ipad onthe computer desk. They found it, called the taxi company to try to track us down. They held it for me for 5 days until my cousin could pick it up. Just a great hotel and an excellent price in the perfect area for exploring. WE will continue to use and recommend this hotel.

    « Good location »

It's a bit dated but clean and well run with a good breakfast. We had a room next to the lift which was a bit noisy but with ear plugs we managed to sleep through it. They let us leave our bags there on the last day which was really helpful.

    « A short nights sleep »

Although in a good area, the room was small and the bathroom smaller. Half a bottle of soda was removed from the mini bar (purged and restocked daily), and the bartender had to be called each time we wanted another drink at the small bar. Maid service started promptly at 7am, even on Sunday, and they were not quiet about it. You get what you pay for.

« Nice and Confy Hotel, great for the purpose »

The Hotel was nice and tidy, not massive or super modern but my single room had everything i needed. TV, Nice and clean bathroom and comfortable bed. Also the reception was really helpfull and the breakfast pretty good.

    « Needs modernizing »

This hotel is in drastic need of modernizing in all areas. The shower was a hose in the bathtub, which was very cramped. The shower curtain rail looked very unstable and the curtain wasn't particularly clean. The wifi signal kept dropping. TV had not been plugged in properly (and was tiny), not enough power points in the room to recharge devices - there were none by the bed stands. Breakfast buffet did not have many fresh foods e.g. canned pineapple, white bread only, scrambled eggs which resembled yellow putty. Coffee out of a can. The cereal was ok. It was a short walk from Duomo and the staff were friendly and helpful.

    « Location a plus »

Really, my only complaint had to do with climate control (none) and the fact that housekeeping couldn't or wouldn't replace our plastic drinking glasses. Other guests who stayed in July must have had a toasty time!! Otherwise, we found the rooms to be spotless, beds comfortable, the wireless worked well, the breakfast was more than adequate, and the staff worked harder than I've ever seen at any hotel. I just had to sit and marvel at the operation at breakfast. The walk to the Duomo is 10 minutes tops. The area is not overrun with restaurants but we found Ten to Ten around the corner: locally sourced food, a good wine selection, and friendly atmosphere. Another big plus for the Ascot is that the #16 tram runs in front of the hotel (it goes to the Duomo and also directly to Cenacalo Vinciano (Last Supper). There is a Tabac steps away where you can buy tram/metro tickets.

    « not bad »

the hotel in general was good. his located about 10 - 13 min. walk from Dumo (little far ) . the room nice but with old furniture. Wifi really terrible and bad. the room expensive if we compare it with other hotel sam stars. i will never come back!

    « good hotel »

the hotel is not a new one but it is located very close to the city center. parking is near by and cost 20 eurs a day . the room is small with tiny t.v. breakfast is o k and the staff is polite and helpful.

« Great staff but poor hotel »

Yes, it was for most part great staff, for breakfast, bar and housekeeping. General impression was for lobby area, bar and breakfast room quite OK but far from any extras. Same goes for the conference area, adequate and reasonable. However, one and important thing was a big disappointment. Check in procedure was probably the slowest I have ever experienced in any hotel anywhere. Mind you we traveled as a group and they had all names, etc already on file. Still it took surely 10-15 minutes for each one of us to receive our rooms and keys. On check in I specifically asked for a room high up and facing backside, to avoid the street noise, what did I get? First floor facing the street! Mind you there were still many rooms available when I showed up with my group. After a lot of discussions I was able to change room early evening, to backside. Once in the room I noticed that the AC didn't work at all. I was informed over the phone with the reception that it only ran in daytime!!! The temperature in the room was at the time around 25-30 C that evening! Consequently it felt as if it had no air what so ever. It was impossible to sleep at all in that temperature. Second day I stressed the need for AC, and yes they turned something on, it didn't help at all. The AC made a lot of noise but the temperature stayed the same. It was awful to say the least. I got a lot of nonsense explanations around the AC but no solution at all. It was 2 horrible nights without any sleep. 4 star- how can that be? Please Best Western, review this place, it is not a good reference.

    « Good Location »

Nice hotel, about 20 minute walk from Milan Cathedral. Good WiFi. Nice and clean. Excellent restaurant 2 minutes walk away, L'Isola del Tesoro, hotel front desk will give you directions, the food was lovely, reasonably priced and friendly waiters. The hotel staff spoke English. Breakfast could do a few more hot choices.

    « Not 4 star »

Booked this on line as it was 4 star. If you like a room with little aircon, have bath while showering ( bad plumbing), and one english TV channel, ccn, then this is the place for you. The staff have been very friendly and pleasant but can not detract away from the fact that this is not 4 star hotel. Great location and breakfast was fine.
