« Clean, good location and very friendly staff »

Hotel is really close to city attractions and there are some good restaurants nearby. Rooms are bit small but very clean and the bed is comfy. Breakfast was nice and fresh. On the other side, hotel needs renovation. Very old fashioned design, and what is with that smell in the hotel? It smells like old people and toilet cleaning chemicals combined. Only reason I'm giving you 4 stars is the staff! Paul, Anthony and young mister whos name starts with S ( they all work at the reception ) made us feel more than a welcome. They are very friendly and always there to help. Thank you guys once again! I must mention the cleaning lady ( 3rd floor, maybe 40-50 years old ) for her positive energy and wonderful job she does. All in all, hope to visit you again, maybe in new version :) greetings from Croatia!

« Good location, bad breakfast »

Hotel's got good location. Very close to all attraction. Good service of the staff, but the standard of the building is poor. Needs a renovation. There is also very poor quality of the breakfast menu. it's incomprehensible that in the Country know with delicious vegetables you can't find even one small tomato!!! It's similar with a coffee. There is no place for instant coffee in 4* hotel in Milan!!! You can get good espresso when you ask the waiter to make one. And last but not least the smell after cleanig is terible.

« Badly treated after incident »

The staff overall is helpful and friendly. That said, we had a gas leak in our minibar. We thought it was ammonia used for cleaning but it was for refrigeration, is 99.9% put ammonia and is deadly. The room smelled very much from it, the staff had cleaned it that day but not reacted to the leak. When we got back from a tour of the city, it was thick in the room. We tried airing out the room. Still thinking it was from cleaning, but we were going to try to air it out, or else would have to ask for a different room. A staff person stuck their head in the door as it was open, asked and we told them we were airing the room because of the smell. They did nothing, just nodded. Later on we were in the lounge (which wasn't serving) and I went up to the room to get a beer out of the mini bar, it smelled worse when I got in the room, I noted we would have to ask to be moved, opened the mini bar and was immediately hit in the face with a cloud of ammonia that had gathered in the minibar chamber. I stopped being able to breathe. Immidiately shut the door of the minibar, eyes burning, nose burning, not breathing I made it to the sink in the bathroom, splashed water, still not able to breathe. I thought I was going to die in that room. After a while a tiny little bit of breath happened, I got out to the hallway and slowly was starting to be able to breathe again. Then a rush of coughing, mixed with incredible amount of burping, eyes watering. This also lasted around five to ten minutes. Made my way down and got the young man at the desk who looked horrified at my condition, we went up. He mentioned they did not use ammonia in cleaning and that was when I realized it was the mini bar. I stayed outside, thy confirmed it was a leak in the fridge. I asked them to call a doctor and hear what damage I might have, he told me the doctor said an ambulance didn't have equipment for this, but if I wanted I could go to the hospital. I was in shock and declined. That was dumb of me, I read on the net that damage happens fast, and there is no antidote or cure. I believe the hotel should have called both ambulance and fire dept. right away with an ammonia gas leak (anhydrous ammonia). I demanded they fill out an accident form. Was told we could, but the form "wasn't there" the manager would contact me the next day. Next day (I wrote up what happened and gave it to the manager) I don't hear from him, wait until around 10 or later, go looking for him. I give him the account. He tells me they have talked to the manufacturer of the minibar, it was "only" ammonia gas...a deadly gas. They should have had routine that if staff smells ammonia to alert the desk and clear the room. I believe they wanted to avoid making a big deal out of this. Later I was emailed by the manager an offer of 100 euros for "compensation". I declined, because I did not know what extent I had been damaged. Wanted to go to my doctor when I got home. It seems no provable long term damage, but I have not felt ok since. I was thinking I was going to die in that room. It ruined our trip, and again, the incredibly low offer of compensation, after subjecting a guest to a deadly gas, seemed ridiculously callous to me. So just be aware of the treatment you can expect if it happens to you, and if you ever smell ammonia in a room, get out of there and ask the hotel to check. The staff was helpful. The manager, I had to ask several times in email to get the name and model of the minibar. Also he was agitated when I complained to him, there never was a "accident report" filled out in front of me or with my input. His offer was insulting. For what I went through, it wasn't even one whole night free...it would be a modest meal in Milan. I have tried contacting best western head office, a local lawyer asking about compensation. Their position seems to be "hey it happened, no lasting damage" so 100 euro is enough they seem to think.

    « Value for money »

Hotel central to shopping area, metro round the corner. Hotel amenities excellent; Reception very accommodating and breakfast abundant. Room well cleaned and tidy. Movement from adjacent or overhead room might be disturbing if light sleeper. Our room shower cubicle very small. However will recommend the Best Western.

« ok for visiting the city »

small but nice rooms which have all what you need but nothing extra, for that price was ok I can recommend to stay here if you do not expect too much just bed and bathroom. Perfect localization just 10 minutes from old city

    « enjoyable stay »

it was a meaningful and enjoyable stay in this hotel! not far from any touristic sights in Milan. the staff are friendly and ready to assist to the clients. the breakfast offered is excellent! thank you for the great accomodation!

« A bit tired, and oh those dreadful breakfasts! »

On the plus side, like many Best Westerns, this hotel has not been given a homogenising make-over, so many of the mid-century features remain, particularly in the lounge and breakfast room areas, and in the lighting throughout. The door staff and the maids are friendly, and the place was clean. However, the rooms are quite small and cramped, and they only provide polystyrene cups and plastic glasses in the room - we smuggled cups and glasses out of the breakfast area, but polystyrene simply isn't acceptable. The thing that really let it down, however, was the breakfasts. The food was dull and tasteless, very little was fresh, and if it was fresh, it was probably off (see the photo of the bananas!) Worse than that, though, it was really poorly organised - for instance, when the coffee and hot water urns ran out one day, the waitress, rather than refilling them, made all the coffee and tea individually in the kitchen, leaving tables uncleared and a queue forming. Some of the breakfast room staff were really rude to customers - a couple who arrived at 9.55 were told "We're locking the doors in 5 minutes, so you'd better grab what you can". So although this place is reasonably priced, and in a reasonable location, I really wouldn't recommend it.

    « Convenient stay »

The best Western Hotel is located in a very good area in Milan which has access to Central station and also city Center . The staff are so friendly and they try to hell you as much as they can. The room is quite ,clean and comfortable!

    4
« Location ,friendly and clean »

Certainly not a luxury hotel but the staff is most helpful, the rooms comfortable and clean. Best location. 15 minutes walk to Central Station,20 to Dommo or two minutes to metro station.Certainly recommended.

    3
« Good location, small rooms »

We stayed at Best western during a recent business trip. The location is just great with it being just next to the metro station and all key landmarks of the city, easily accessible. The rooms are very small although. The breakfast is all right, a small bar inside the hotel is an added bonus. The hotel per se is small. You can however explore some nearby eateries which are really good. However, at that price point , I am sure there would be better options available.

« Great location, reasonable hotel »

Location was great, staff were very helpful and the room was clean. The breakfast offering was some fruit, 3 different cakes, some pastries, cereal, yoghurt, cheese, cold meats, bread, etc. They also had beans, sausage (not the UK type), hard boiled and scrambled eggs and bacon (streaky). It was a good selection. There were pretty strong smells around the hotel sometimes - either strong cleaning products or drains. I'm guessing they are trying to fight a drain issue when I stayed.

    4
« Nice little quaint hotel »

We stayed at this hotel for just one night. The hotel is a small little hotel with small rooms. It is not too far away from the tourist areas of Milan or from the central station which can be accessed through the metro or the trams. Pros: Decent location Very good breakfast Clean rooms Cons: Very small rooms Small hotel (not expected from a Best Western brand) Unenthusiastic staff Overall, decent value for money.

« Best Western Hotel St. George is uncomfortable and poort, but more expensive »

I stayed at Best Western Hotel St. George for a business trip. The room I got was small and uncomfortable. Staff had no interest in customers. They had multiple people at the reception standing around doing nothing. The bathroom is the worst I ever used in any place where I stayed. Location is good, and it's the only saving grace of this hotel. Avoid staying at Best Western Hotel St. George in Milan.

« Best Western St. George is expensive and uncomfortable »

I stayed at Best Western St. George in October 2017 for a business trip. I stayed in room 308, probably the worst hotel room I ever stayed in. the hotel room was small, uncomfortable, with a tiny shower and slippy floor. The minibar was almost empty and it was a challenge to get water. I paid more than the area's average because a friend recommended it, but it was a mistake. Next time I will gladly pay more to avoid staying again at Best Western St. George.

    2
    « Poor hotel »

Very poor setting. Reception is up the stairs. Rooms accessed via a tiny lift and rooms are miserable. No no like. Never expected such. Not worth the money paid for sure. Prefer to try another hotel instead.

    2
    « Lacks character »

This Best Western is not of BW category. Reception is up the stairs!!!! The room is quite limited and heavy in room that makes you feel in a coffin.... No thank you again. Expected so much better... Kindly improve.

    5
    « Friendly Staff »

St. George was a pleasant stay. The room was a great use of space and comfortable. The front desk staff was so friendly, they went above expectation in making one smile. The hotel is near restaurants to walk to and a quick taxi ride to central Milan.

    4
    « Milan Stay »

The Hotel was nice and convenient to Central Station. I flew to Milan as my first destination was Varenna - Lake Como. I was unable to get accommodations for entire period I desired in Varenna so decided to see what was in Milan for three nights. Nothing against the hotel as it is very nice. But if I had it to do over again I would skip Milan and use those days for my other destinations in Italy which were much more enjoyable. If nothing else, do your research ahead of time as to what there is worth seeing in Milan.

    « Great service »

We stayed at the Best Western Hotel St George for 3 nights on a recent two-week holiday around a few countries. First of all, the reception staff (the gentlemen working afternoon and evenings in particular) was outstanding. Very polite, helpful and friendly. The room was of a good size, quite old fashioned but comfortable and clean. The bathroom was big and clean. Breakfast was OK. Enough choice and variety for all tastes. I just wish the staff wasn't reminding customers every 5 minutes that it closes at 10am, that was a bit rude. Tea and cake is offered every day between 4-5pm, which is a nice touch. We didn't use the bar, but it is there for guests to enjoy with free snacks when drinks are ordered. We asked for prices, they were a bit too high so we preferred going to other places to drink. There is a little convenience store next to the hotel and quite a few good restaurants. We tried one recommended by the front desk person, and it was great value and quality. Location wise, it is close to the shopping area and Metro. Convenient enough to get around. We walked to the Duomo in about 15-20 minutes. The outside of the hotel doesn't look appealing but it is actually a pretty good place for the price and we would happily go back!

    « Mr. »

Hotel smelled like a old man, Musty. Room was comfortable, and bed wasn't bad. Outside differently needs a remodel. But would stay again if cursed to go to St. George again. Pool looked nice but didn't use. And they offered breakfast but didn't partake.

« Nice hotel in the heart of Milan »

Just five minutes walk from the Porta Venezia Metro Station, this hotel is located in an area dotted with many shopping options and restaurants. The rooms are reasonably spacious, comfy and complete with all the amenities required. The wi fi is very good and so is the menu for breakfast. The Stazione Centrale is close by and the Duomo Cathedral is at 30 minutes walking distance from the property. Would love to visit again and highly recommend the same to the fellow travellers.

    3
« Small but very welcoming and great value for money. »

Suitably located in between the train station and city centre. We are both quite fit so managed to walk both but with lots of luggage or children I would recommend getting a taxi. Hotel reception is located at the top of a small flight of stairs and could deem difficult with large luggage items or pushchairs. Reception staff very friendly and welcoming so I am sure they would help as much as they can. We were on the top floor with lovely rooftop views including the cathedral (just). Rooms are slightly dated but are clean and have a kettle, small refrigerator and a safe. Shower very small but done the job. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with both hot and cold food provided. Tea and coffee is available by the pot or ask for a cappuccino as we found out at the end of the stay that these were complimentary. Afternoon tea is also served, which I thought was a lovely touch.

« Nice service, friendly staff, great value. »

Hotel is in a very good location, quite place, nearby metro station and bus stops makes the public transportation very easy. The staffs are all very friendly and helpful, nice service. Rooms are quite comfortable and clean, wifi acceseble. Moderate breakfast quality. Great value!

« Best Hotel Stay in Europe! »

This Best Western surpassed all my expectations of a standard value hotel. Staff was super friendly and recommended great places to eat. Rooms were a decent size and everything was perfect! Will definitely stay again next time I'm in Milano.

    « Loved it »

Fantastic hotel. Really friendly, 10 mins walk to milano centrale, 20 mins to duomo. Air conditioning was great. Only complaint was we were in the room right next to the kitchen so lots of noise at breakfast time, (banging and pots clanging)means no chance of a lie in :(

« Very helpful staff . hotel near the stop for the seravalle bus and the shopping street »

lovely hotel which keeps apples to eat at anytime at their lobby entrance . the hotel is very near to the seravalle bus stop and the shopping street . they guided us to a great mexican restaurant . they use to keep the baby stroller also down so we didnt have to keep carrying it to the room n back down. the hotel staff booked our 6 bus tkts to seravalle and back but we didnt keep the bus return voucher n we paid again half money to come back as the driver wasnt talking english .when we informed the hotel they spoke to the co. and we got our money back. only con is while a shower the water comes out but they give extra towels which keep the bathroom dry. we will be staying here again .

    « Plesant stay »

The location of the hotel is really good, it is very close to the bus station from where you can get easily to the airport and it is quite close to the main attractions in Milan, the area is very nice. Our room was great, big clean, great bathroom. Also the staff at the reception is very helpful and friendly. We also really liked the breakfast, they offer many choices to choose from everything very tasty and fresh. We really enjoyed stay at this hotel highly recommended.

« safe and great staff and the rest »

great welcoming not only on when checking in, but every morning leaving the hotel for the day and when coming back you got a welcome back. Great location only a sort walk from Milano Centrale Railways Station which links to Malpensa Airport both terminal 1 and 2. The hotel also a sort walk to corso buenos aires. its possible to walk to domo cathedral to. The hotel room was a decent size , with mini fridge a safe but the safe isn't screwed to anything so it can be lifted yes its heavy but something to keep in mind. Breakfast room on the 1st floor can get busy. There was plenty of juice , tea cakes fruit , different types of croissants , and hot options to you can ask for coffee to. it can be noisy if the window is open but gets plenty of air in . rooms where kept clean every day , a great stay

« Great hotel for an amazing price »

Stayed for 4 nights, close to Metro, nice breakfast included in room rate, wide range of food. Very friendly staff, always there to help. Nice and clean room, very roomy, amazing price! Would recommend to anyone.

    « Fantastic Reception Personnel »

Just returned from 5 nights in Milan. This hotel's strong point is the personnel, especially when English is not in my experience largely understood in Milan. They were very helpful, accommodating and went out of their way to help in many ways. The room I stayed in was entry level and was fine, clean, spacious enough and had all the amenities I needed. Situated close to many shops and restaurants and the metro line. Would recommend for a short visit !

« Friendly staff awesome breakfast »

The title says it all. Breakfast was awesome. Super complete. And the staff were friendly and helpful on anything we needed. The rooms were OK. Memorable stay in Milan! We even booked the place again when we returned to Milan for the breakfast. Definitely would come back.

« The Traditional Best Western. »

As always, a great place to stay. Conveniently located between the Central railway station and the Duomo. Close to Park for jogging. Rich breakfast, great latte. Five o'clock tea from 16 to 17 hours. Close to cafe and restaurants. A very caring staff.

    « Good service&staff »

I went to Milan with my family. Hotel is closed to railway station and metro was next door. Service was good and staff were friendly. they have free wifi which was realy fast. Airconditioning was good enough.

    4
« Good hotel, friendly staff »

Went to Milan primarly to visit the lakes (lago Maggiore and lago Como) The hotel is not that far from the main Railway station, count a 15 minutes walk? Metro is next door, to visit the city. This is very convinient Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast offers a good variety of food, staff is Always friendly. If you want a good Italian coffee, just aks for it. Airconditioning just worked on the last day, but as it was April it was not that bad. It was not possible to open the window for fresh air. They have a computer in the bar. The downside was that it was not connected to the internet when I tried it. Overall a good stay

« Be careful: the staff steals!!! »

I stayed at Best Western Hotel St.George in Milan from the 24th to the 28th of Feb 2017. That was the first time I chose the hotel and I believe it was the last one! The last day has spoiled completely all the impression of my staying and the hotel service. On the last day of my staying I found out that my travel bag was searched and my money were stolen! I cannot describe my disappointment and frustration. I supposed the staff of such a hotel should respect its guests and their property and I was sure my things are safe in my room! The room was not cleaned as it supposed to be, but it was robbed! I am still shocked... And after this thing happened and I was not even contacted by the hotel manager although I was promised that...... I am sure that someone from the staff has stolen the money and the hotel management should get aware of that and take appropriate measures. Taking into account the said above, I cannot recommend the hotel!!!

    « Pre funeral lunch »

Excellent food, drinks and service. Nice quiet country pub with good parking facilities and outside spaces. There is a varied menu from specials on a chalk board to main menu that includes starter, mains & deserts plus a snack type choice of sandwiches etc. This pub is delightful and the staff are very pleasant too. As we were attending a funeral a little later on this day, the staff found us a nice quiet corner table and were very accommodating.

« Goog hotel for good price with super location »

We spent there 3 nights, room is small, but with everything we needed next to the fire exit . Breakfast was very good with meats, croissants, eggs, hot buffet , fruits and cakes, location was next to the Corso Buenos Aires 20 minute walking to Milan Dome.Staff was extremely friendly. Everything was super.

« It is absolutely ok »

The position is really good, near to the center and to a lot of commercial shops. The room is very clean and big. The breakfast is good but not so various WIFI is ok The bedroom is really comfortable There are a lot of places where you can eat, every kind of food you are looking for.

« Amazing staff and room!! »

So we spent with my parents Christmas in Milan and in this amazing hotel. It is not obvious how accommodating, friendly and in a very convenient location this hotel is but trust me, with either the metro or if you are a tourist the hop on hop off bus the duomo and the centre in general is right around the corner. The staff is super friendly and did their most to help us with our every need. Broken fridge was replaced in minutes, suggestions of local restaurants and at times free drinks;)the only issue was the tv cable that was causing a "hiccup" to the tv. Regardless we enjoyed the huge room of three beds at a very good price. Thank you very much to all the staff, for taking care of us.

    4
« Great hotel if you like a very hard mattress »

There is a lot to love about this hotel. They really try -- from the free welcome aperitif of your choice to the free afternoon tea with cakes everyday 4-5, bathrobe on request, safety box, all 3 important English business channels, great friendly and caring staff, tea and kettle on request, refrigerator in room, ironed sheets changed daily... But people come to a hotel most importantly for a good night sleep and the mattress and pillows are just too hard and uncomfortable--at least for my taste. Hotel should offer a soft mattress pad (placed under the top sheet -- on request) and alternative fluffy pillows for those who request such. Also internet keeps dropping off and you need to reconnect too often. Very annoying and difficult to work. If you like a hard (like concrete) mattress I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. If, not I would look elsewhere. The Hilton Milan mattress is great. Hotel's Location 2 blocks from Corso Buenos Aires and 20 minute walk from Duomo and Central train station.

    « Superbe »

A really good place. Very well situated, near the metro and all the good places to visit!! A staff very helpful. A really good breakfast!! The bedroom decoration a bit simple but way enough for 3 days in Milan!

    « I liked their breakfast »

Well the hotel is nice Very friendly staff Near the metro station and near Buenos Aires street. I liked the Italian breakfast they offer. The room is nice and very clean. Although it is not a modern. Next time it will one of my choices.

« Fine for a one night stay »

This is an easy walk from Milano Centrale, ~8 minutes. And it is a lovely walk from th hotel to the fashion district, La Scala, the Duomo, etc. We found a great restaurant for dinner just 3 blocks away. There is a tea at 4pm and happy hour starts at 6pm. The breakfast was very typical ranging from cereals, to meats and cheeses, to pastries and tortes. We have traveled throughout Italy ~12 times in the last 8 years and are thoroughly familiar with their bathroom/shower setups. The shower divider at this hotel was inadequate and flooded the floor despite best efforts. The pillows were flat and inadequate. The bed was fine.

« Decent stay for Milan »

Recently stayed at this property as most of the hotels within walking distance to the Central Train Station were sold out. The cab ride for 3 people was under 10 Euros. Upon check-in, I was a little surprised by how small the lobby is, but the great customer service and the room made up for it. I stayed in a suite on the 4th floor (Rm 403), and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. There wasn't much of a view from the room, but thats ok. The walk to the M1 Metro line took about 7-10 minutes and was at the Duomo Milano within about 10 minutes. For my next trip to Milan, I will try to stay close to the railway station due to convenience, but would not hesitate to stay at the Best Western if they were all sold out.

« Really nice hotel awesomely located »

I was really positively surprised with this hotel - located 5 minutes walk from Central Station and 15-20 minutes walk from city centre. We didn't use public transport at all during our stay in Milan, as we really didn't need it. Stuff was very nice also. We had breakfast included, and it was really good value, considering how much the same stuff would cost around. Only two things that could improve: - Chairs in room as quite handy, but not when you have children above you pushing them during a child play. Maybe they can do something and put on the bottom to try to fix the sounds. - Air conditioning is quite cool actually, really no strange AC smells and stuff, we were positively surprised - but AC was, I don't know, drunk? Turning on and off on it's own will, and in the end we agreed with stuff to turn it off overnight for good, which was OK for us. Would stay there again, and would definitely recommend it.

« Among Better hotels during Italian trip »

Stayed from 18/06 to 20/06. One of better hotels booked by our travel agent. Rooms were definitely good, comfortable beds. Breakfast among the best during entire trip of 18 days. Staff quite courteous and helpful. Additionally they serve tea in afternoon with some small biscuits/pastries which is nice touch. Location wise though little away from Station as also major sight seeing sights, is quite well connected with local transport.

    « Meeting in Milan »

the hotel position is excellent for people have work or city center visit for short time. the staff is very friendly and they make sure to do everything they can to make your stay comfortable as much is possible. the area is noisy during the day until 10 PM, so it highly recommended to choose back side room

« Modern Hotel, with Old Charm! »

A quick visit to Milan, not impressed with the city, but the St. George was a great place to escape. Very roomy and comfortable for the three of us. They prepared a separate bed for our daughter and we were able to have a private room for ourselves. Lots of space and nice bath. The rooms still hold some old hotel charm, but have all modern amenities. The staff was very helpful and all spoke excellent English. They even recommended a very excellent place to eat for dinner, Mama Rosa's. So good!

« Average hotel, easy location »

We stayed for a long weekend with a young baby... Did not expect stairs to reach reception, not a big problem, one female member of staff always rushed to help, the others just smiled and watched each time we went in or out. The lifts are also very small, took a bit of time to fit the pushchair in and take it out. Cleanliness was average, a hair in the shower before using it, the floor in the room didn't feel very clean. No robes or slippers provided, but I think you can request it. The water and provided shampoo/shower gel are very drying on the skin/hair- bring your own. The hotel provided a free travel cot, had a rip but functioned fine. Breakfast was very average, a small selection of hot food in the corner, then the usual pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc.. Overall, I usually like Best Western hotels but was a bit disappointed by this one, there were no nice little touches or details, but a good location for shopping.

    4
« Very nice hotel not far (30 minutes walk) from the city's attractions. »

My room 204 and bathroom were very clean and of a good size. Beds were comfortables. The breakfast was very good with a good choice of cheeses, cold cuts, juices, water (flat and "frizzante"), fresh fruits, yoghurts, croissants and different kind of breads. You can also press fresh oranges in a juicer! The service is also very good and polite. They even gave us a free welcome drink. It was easy to get a taxi in the morning. From the hotel to the Milano Centrale train station (10€). To get to Milan tourist office (Zani Viaggi tours) 12€. If you have the Hop on Hop off (with your Milan Pass = worth it), you are next to the #9 bus stop on the blue line or near a metro station near Venezia gate. The walk from the hotel to the Duomo it is very easy and a nice walk because you can do some window shopping (Dolce & Gabbana, etc). I would return to this hotel, I was not disappointed in any way.

« Some highs, some lows »

We stayed for a quick overnight during a road trip following a long day at Zion. In terms of distance it was a perfect balance between getting back to the highway while not driving forever following a long park day. The hotel was very clean and apparently has a 24 hour workout room and a hot tub, but we never tried those out. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. However, the tub was very slow to drain (standing in a puddle before the end of the shower). The bed was also less than amazing. The pillows were lumpy and the bed pad was not attached to the bed, meaning that it could be felt bunching under the sheets. The bed was also very soft, so I found myself rolling into the deeper depression left by my husband. Breakfast was the high point of the stay -outstanding. All of the food was fresh, including a made to order omelette station and make your own waffles. The breakfast was well staffed with attentive employees and was great grounding for our long drive ahead.

    « Close to everything! »

Steps to Shopping on Buenos Aires, kind and helpful staff who spoke great English. Not and overwhelmingly fancy hotel but provides great value if you aren't trying to spend a fortune. Would recommend and stay again. Less the 1.5 miles to the cathedral.

« Large room, good location »

Location is good, 15 mins walk to Milan Central Railway station, 15 mins walk to Duomo, 1 min walk to Porta Venezia M1. The room is spaceious, clean, breakfast is good, hotel offer free afternoon tea from 4pm to 5pm, we got complimentary soft drink between 6pm to 10pm (we dont have time to enjoy it:). We arrived by car, hotel provides offsite valet parking, charge at 25 euro per night. Upon check-in, I asked the receptionist for late checkout around 3:30pm, he told me no problem, however, on the check out date, I went to the reception to double check whether it is still fine, the girl said 2pm will be no charge and any extra hour will be charged 10 euro. 10 euro is only a small money, the problem was why they made the guest unhappy and why dont they keep their words? Even worse was that, when I pay 10 euro upon check out, she said no charge. What is the point?

« Great location and staff friendly and very helpful. »

Great location and lovely walking to the centre. Room quite small but kept very clean and air conditioning working ok. Kept window closed as room facing main road and could be noisy. Breakfast was basic. Reception staff excellent and so helpful with details on getting to places and resturants etc.

« Nothing really to critizise »

Or in other words: all in all good: friendly and helpful staff, good rooms (however a bit small including the bathroom) and beds. Clean. Nice breakfast. Valet parking via third party. The lobby is a bit odd as you have to get up a few stairs without elevator. Finally one point though: the terrace could need some care: it is a bit outworn.

    « St.George 4* hotel ?? »

I spent at Milan 3 days in May. We used to book different hotel but as the one was fully booked I decided to try St.George. I would expect much more from 4* hotel..Location is perfect if you are travelling for shopping and want to be close to the city center. We had room at 1st floor, it was very small especially bathrom. Windows were on the street where close to tram route which make a lot noise also at the night. I will be definetally comeing back to the city but for sure not to this hotel, it wasnt worth the money...

« Good location but Air conditioning problem »

The hotel is in a great location but the air conditioning was not working properly. We had to change the room because of the AC problem; The second room was quiet small with just a shower and facing a noisy street, hard to sleep on a Thursday. The breakfast was nice and the staff was listening to our requests.

    « Will come again »

I spent a long weekend there, with 2 friends. We had a large room with double bed and one comfortable couch in the living space, 3rd floor. Clean. Very friendly reception. Breakfast ok. Location very good, close to metro, 3 stops away from Duomo. Shopping area around the corner. All in all: very good place to stay when visiting Milan!

Excellent stay. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff extremely helpful and only a short journey into the centre of Milan.Remember most museums are closed on Mondays and popular attractions often need to be booked in advance.Thank you Nicollete

    « Good choice »

It's a very nice hotel but when we enter to the room we couldn't believe how small it is. You have literally no space for anything. And the double bed was also very small. But forgetting about that it was ok. Very clean, the stuff very helpful and the breakfast very good. The famous Corso Buenos Aires is 2 min walking and the city centre 3 metro stations.

    « 5 days trip »

The hotel is in a good area. You can arrive very easy in all important places of Milan.I think this is the only good thing. The hotel it is to noisy, you can hear the tram from the street, the doors opening and closing. Its much to noisy,at least for me.The breakfast has a very small room, you must wait for a place. The people in reception are very kind and try to help you with everything..There is also a smell, maybe from the o-sone air which they use.Really it is a maximum 3 stars hotel. But for the price you pay i think its ok.There are some good restaurants near by.enjoy

We stayed in a triple room! Everything was very good, sitting area with a single room and tv , the. You walk to another double bed with a tv nicely separated from the other one with a slide door! Friendly staff and good choice of breakfast... Easy to commute and reach everything!

    « Ok-ish place, slightly overpriced »

The good: - friendly staff The bad: - smalls rooms - non-4 star breakfast buffet - short (190 cm), semi-comfy beds - no hotel parking (despite they claim they had) All in all, not worth the price though ok as a fallback option.

    « Smallest bed ever! »

I think we had booked the "Classic" room. On the website, it sure looks roomy! But boy oh boy, it was the smallest hotel room we've ever stayed in! The bed was the smallest Queen I've ever slept on, smaller than a Double for goodness sakes! The bed was pushed against the wall, so I had my husband pull it out about 6 inches (so that I could go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without climbing over him!). During the 3 nights we slept on that bed, I had to sleep on my side to give him adequate room (and he is not huge, just average), and when I turned in my sleep, I fell off the bed on my side, but luckily for the extra 6" (we'd pulled the bed from the wall), I got wedged in there! But such interrupted sleep! I really couldn't believe the size of that bed, for 2 persons! We laid ourselves on the bed side by side, and there was no extra space at the edge! We honestly didn't get a decent night's sleep in that hotel! There was one upright chair, the TV was fixed above the wall, there was just enough space to put 2 suitcases open on the floor, and then there's no room to walk. The bathroom was modern and roomy though! Perhaps it was because we were placed in a corner room (although normally corner rooms in hotels are the roomiest!), as when we walked past opened doors of some of the rooms being cleaned during our stay, those rooms looked much much bigger! The hotel corridor is narrow, and there's only one lift for the guests (another lift is for staff and won't work for guests), which was super slow..we counted...20 seconds to start from reception to go past 1st floor. Wifi is included and so is breakfast. Breakfast I must say, was impressive. It had a juicer that one has to peel one's own fruits and make your juice (first time I've seen this in a 4 star hotel in Europe), lots of choices such as choices of cold cuts, cheeses, yoghurt, breads, cakes, cereals, salads, dressings, fruits, scrambled eggs, sausages, milk, tea & coffee, other juices...Location wise, round the corner, is the subway station. As we didn't go out for dinner, I can't tell about restaurants, but I remember we did pass some. Our room was very noisy, facing the street (we were on the 2nd floor), and I could hear the tram. Upon arrival at the hotel, one has to climb up (not good for seniors or with heavy luggage) stairs to get to reception and the reception desk is a tiny counter and no waiting area. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful though. They had maps to give out and were most happy to direct us to tourist sites. Unfortunately we were in Milan when the hotels were all very fully booked, otherwise, we would've moved out.

« Simple and sweet hotel »

This hotel has nice and clean rooms and also clean corridors. They serve good breakfast. The hotel is close to metro station so it is easy to commute to any place in the city. My wife liked this hotel.

« Very well located hotel in Milan »

We only stayed in St. George for one night after arriving from Sicily at 22:45pm at Linate. Very well located near metro and tram lines, St George was a very affordable choice for our only night in Milan. Breakfast was very nice but it seemed there were not enough seats in the last hour. After check-out the staff secured our luggage so we could walk to the Duomo area. 15-20 enjoyable minutes near gardens and beautiful buildings that we couldn't see if we were lazy and took the metro. After a few hours, we were on our way to Malpensa and again, the location of the hotel 5 minutes away from a tram to Centrale was very important. Rooms clean, bathroom very well equipped. Reception and breakfast staff very friendly. Apart from a few noisy guests at 7:30 in the halls (that the hotel can't be blamed for) our stay at St George was what we expected. Will recommend to anyone doing short layovers at Milan without doubt. Location, location location

« Average Hotel with good customer service »

The location is not walking distance to the major tourism areas in Milan, unless you really enjoy walking long distances like I do. There is a subway stop just around the corner that most people could figure without too much effort. The breakfast was above average. The friendly front desk staff was very helpful. My major disappointment was lack of quality restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

« well positioned for sight seeing. easy to get to from airport. »

room was always clean and made up. staff were very friendly and always willing to help. only real draw back would be access for disabled people as there is a half flight of stairs at the front door to the reception. breakfast was included everything from bacon and eggs , cereal to croissants. tea and cakes was served at 1700 to 1800 although the notice in the lift said 1600 to 1800. Milan is served by a large number of trams as well as the metro. maps of the roads / metro are available at reception. a map of the tram network would be very handy as they cover Milan better than the metro. tickets for the metro also cover the buses and trams, so you don't have to buy separate tickets. although we were in room 207 we were actually 5 stories high. the hotel is above a cinema. but you wouldn't no it unless you looked. would definitely use this hotel again.
