"Good location"
Y40OWlindap, 06 Mars 2024

Lovely clean hotel. Rooms were good size and had a fridge. Lift was a little small but apart from that a perfect hotel with good selection for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location for underground to all places of interest.

"Very good experience in Milan's accomodation"
Ka Kit C, 06 Décembre 2023

Easily accessible from Milan Lotto station. Just around 10-min walk. Facilities are good. Towels, cups, hair dryers are all well prepared everyday. Very helpful staff. Understandable English. Keep friendly in the overall communication and make you feel very comforable

"Brilliant Hotel"
Y40OWlindap, 03 Novembre 2023

When booking the hotel we took into consideration the location most of all. We were very pleased with everything the hotel had to offer. They had a good selection of food, fresh fruit, coffee and a bar in the evening. Very clean, staff were very helpful and friendly.

"Deceivers"
Данил П, 29 Avril 2023

They charge 29 euros for 1 people as city tax for 2 nights. There was no information about additional charges other than 4 euros per night Indicated on the check as "Bar", but I did not use the bar.

"Great experience !"
lena_wldk, 14 Avril 2023

The staff is very welcoming and the hotel is beautiful ! Very well located, we were near our bus station (Lampugnano), and we could be in any neighbourhood we wished to visit (Duomo, Sforza castle, Navigli) in less than 30min with public transport. I had a great stay !

"Lovely good value budget hotel."
Roger P, 23 Mars 2023

Very good Budget Hotel. All the staff are lovely. The rooms are dated but solid with loads of extras like a hair dryier, kettle etc, The Breakfast options and room are good. The area is not central to Milan but your not paying Milan central prices. so bare this in mind when reading negative reviews. Also 10 min walk away is a lovely shopping centre, that has food hall that has options to suit all tastes and much cheaper then Milan central prices. Ideal for a few days exploring the area.

"Just one bottled water"
Snoz2013, 17 Janvier 2023

Nice hotel in a residential area. Can get sirens at night as close to a hospital. The hotel is currently surrounded by scaffolding but no sign of any work in progress. Breakfasts were good self service buffet style. Staff were helpful, such as reopening the bar at night for a beer. Was told at check out I would be charged for the bottled water in the room that I'd had. I said the sign in my room said the first bottle of 2 was free. Anyway, compromised and paid for 2.

"The perfect city break hotel"
Thomson14, 01 Mars 2020

I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of February 2020. Now this was during Coronavirus lockdown surrounding Milan but not in Milan so the hotel and city was extremely quiet. The hotel is spotlessly clean, I would like to point out the bathroom in the reception area is one of the cleanest public toilets I have ever been in!! The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was small but ideal for 2 nights with a fridge, kettle and separate bathroom. The shower worked brilliantly and the complimentary toiletries were lovely. The beds were comfortable. The maid cleaned each day. Breakfast in the hotel was plentiful, fresh and amazing fresh juice! There is a supermarket right next door which is so handy. We flew into Malpensa airport and took the Milan Express train to Cardona (€13) and then got red m1 metro line and got off at Amendola, the hotel is approx 10 minute walk from Amendola. We purchased a 3 day metro train ticket which was €12 and worth every penny as we used it loads! I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you!

"Fantastic Hotel"
90claren, 05 Février 2020

What a wonderful hotel - staff were friendly and helpful with all our questions - room at the back was fabulous and the breakfast was awesome . Extra tip if you are staying - the no16 tram stops behind the hotel and you are in the centre of town in 20 mins - better than the metro - buy the travel card for 12 euros - it's great value. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

"It's ok for the price"
445carysp, 23 Janvier 2020

First of all, when we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff. They took our bags and showed us where to park the car (garage across the road €15 per night) The room itself was very small but we had everything in there that we needed for the 2 nights we were there. The hotel has a supermarket next door which is super handy and it's a 10 minute walk from the metro station that takes you into the centre of Milan. The main reason for only giving 3 starts is the noise. You can here everything from the tram going passed every ten minutes, cars tooting their horns all night, the supermarkets late night unloading! It's really hard to sleep here and I'd avoid if your a light sleeper!

"Perfect for football"
Sunseeker6722, 12 Janvier 2020

I spent 1 night here as I was travelling to watch the football at the San Siro. The hotel staff are polite and helpful whilst the rooms are clean and well maintained. The San Siro is about 20-25 minute walk from the hotel but public transport is on offer if needs be. Very good hotel!

"Very nice three star hotel with helpful staff"
Annie L, 02 Décembre 2019

I was particularly pleased with the late check out time. We found a very nice supermarket a few yards away for snacks etc. The metro is a ten minute walk but we also got back from the city centre via a tram.We had quite a few questions for the staff as it was our first visit. We found a super family pizza restaurant about ten minutes away and a super bar about 5-10 mins away.Ristorante Pizzeria O' Surdato 'Nnammurato and Girandola.

"Supermarket noise"
_danny_b7366, 22 Novembre 2019

We was there for 2 days. The supermarket joining on to the hotel seem to be loading pallets between 10pm to 4am. No sleep whatsoever. Worst noise in a hotel room I've ever experienced. Complained to reception who had no solution. This went on for two nights on the run. It ruined our trip due to having no sleep. Wouldn't definitely never stay here again. Even if it was free. If you value your sleep for more than 3 hours straight, don't stay here

"Amazing male reception staff!"
Tracy B, 18 Novembre 2019

Had to write a quick (probably gonna be long..) review on this hotel, it's great, we were welcomed on Friday night (15th) by such a lovely friendly white man, he was just so helpful, he explained where to park (Damien garage just down road, staff there are lovely too) and booked us in without fuss, he gave us a map and directed us to metro station which is a 10 min walk as you turn left out of the hotel doors, he answered all our annoying questions with a smile on his face and he lent us a travel adapter that I'd forgotten to pack... next day another man on reception this time a black guy (wish I'd written down names) he was just as amazing he was friendly happy and helpful! These guys put 5 star miserable reception/concierge staff to shame!! He again helped with our questions and lent us an umbrella for the day, best western should use these two as examples of how to make a customer feel great, they are a credit to the Best Western hotel chain! The hotel itself is great, all amenities you could need for a city break, it's located next door to a supermarket so great for snacks and drinks!! The metro line isn't that far to get to and there are trams on the road too. The check out time of 12 is really handy. I can't fault my stay at all! Thank you to the two guys on reception who made us feel welcome and at home!

"Random weekend"
Ptarmgan, 15 Novembre 2019

Amazing staff, very clean, great breakfast., good deli supermarket next door. We walked from central station to hotel though averry interesting route, the use of the underground is recomended. Our first visit to Italy ,wont be the last. a visit to the Doumo is a must.

"Wonderful service"
omarbabayakubu, 28 Octobre 2019

Hotel is some distance from the Duomo and city centre but i experienced wonderful service from the Receptionist (Older Man). Very helpful. Hotel was pretty comfortable and my wife and I had sound sleep.

"Very pleasant stay - hope to be back "
SerTraveler, 06 Juin 2019

Had to write this review just because I promissed to myself I will mention an amazing hospitality professional- receptionist Klaudjo (hope I spelled the name right) that was our first contact with the hotel. He was amazing - smiling, , efficient on a late check-in, with a pleasant sense of humor and really good English level. Really left great impression on us. Other staff members were also pleasant and helpful but he is the one who made the difference and provided not 3 but 5 star service. Hotel is nice, good value for the money paid, clean and functional rooms, cleaned with towels changed on a daily basis. Breakfast in continental style - enough options and tasty food. Loved the hotel, loved the city - hope to be back soon.

"SUPER BW hotel in Milano"
traveler2019BR, 03 Juin 2019

Andre at the reception is "fantastic"! Asking him for best restaurent for Milan-Risotto, he will propose you ristorante el BRELLIN, Alzaia Naviglio Grande 14. Go there and you will agree! The hotel standard is perfect.

"Long walk to conference centre"
Pico99, 27 Mai 2019

The hotel was a long walk from the conference centre, about 25 minutes. The room was clean. The garbage collection early in the morning outside was loud enough to wake me up as I had left the window open. Closing the window helped on subsequent nights and the ventilation system worked fine.

"WAY BETTER THAN THE STARS GIVEN!"
meganhR3877TE, 19 Mai 2019

Honestly so lovely! Pretty central. Really easy to get everywhere. Clean, tidy, staff are really helpful. Breakfast is amazing! Got everything we needed. I don't agree with the star rating at all! Italy must star differently to the UK I'm telling you!

"Transient"
bevalt52, 07 Mai 2019

Good for business travel as local and transport on your doorstep...breakfast is plentiful to fill the belly...the usual continental choices of bakery which was always plentiful and replenished all the time...fruit/veggie juicer free to use...cereals yoghurts eggs ...DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING OUT OF THE DINING ROOM AS YOU ARE WATCHED..

"Overall was an average stay."
sammy0001, 02 Avril 2019

We spent two nights at this hotel. Initially trying to get to the hotel by public transit was a challenge and tiring. We then just took a cab on the way out to the train station to go to Verona, turned out to be expensive. The receptionist on duty that day was not very helpful partly because his English was poor. Small but clean room for the two of us – felt very constrained. Breakfast is very basic. Very small elevator. Some good restaurants nearby. Once we learnt the tram/metro, we were able to get around much easier. Overall was an average stay.

"Perfect"
VictorNov, 25 Mars 2019

Great for a business traveler. Nice clean room, good service, fair price. Location is close to downtown, not far from the railway station. You can get here from Malpensa by train for 13 euro and 12 euro to the hotel by taxi. Area easy to get around by tramp and subway.

"Nice Hotel"
asad_imran, 29 Janvier 2019

First time to spend two nights at this hotel. Warm welcome was given by the receptionist and was working hard with his English :) loved it. He explained the area very well with a map. Breakfast is very basic but have great croissants. Very small elevator. Overall nice experience to stay.

"Nice hotel"
TravelingCanadiansX2, 27 Novembre 2018

Nice little hotel. Small rooms, but comfortable. Friendly staff and easy check in. Great central location with restaurants nearby! Not much to do at night, but there is a tram stop directly behind the hotel, so it was easy to get around.

"Very good hotel"
shaunelder1996, 08 Septembre 2018

Really nice hotel, with good transport links near by and the best thing about this hotel is the staff, they are extremely helpful and nice. It is also within a 20 minute of the san siro stadium so if you are going to watch football this is good hotel to stay at.

"Great little hotel"
rwinter141, 04 Août 2018

Thank you for our stay, 2 nights here on a short break, happy days.small rooms but that's ok! Close to San Siro, easy to get to city centre, next door to a supermarket for cheap goodies , very close to a excellent restaurant trattoria La Primula just over the road, all good nothing bad! I will be back with my lads to go to the football when I've saved up

"Handy location. Very good breakfast!"
Em240593, 04 Août 2018

Booked this hotel through Viva Holidays and had confidence in the booking knowing it was a Best Western. We were greeted very warmly and the air conditioned reception was very well received given the 80% humidity outside! We were provided with a map of Milan identifying the hotel and local metro stations. There were a few to choose from however we walked to Amendola on the M1 line. The location of the Hotel meant that we had good links to get to the attractions and main city area. The Metro cost €1.50 for a 24hour ticket which was great value. The hotel room was a little dated and the only english speaking channel on the t.v was CNN. I know you don't go away to watch T.V but it's nice to be able to keep up with the news and goings ons. The Hotel itself was very clean and gave us everything we needed. WIFI was free and pretty good in the hotel to what I have experienced in other places. The toiletries in the bathroom were very generous quantities and towels were changed daily. The beds were comfy and we were grateful to have plugs next to each bed which made charging phones a breeze. The highlight of the hotel is the breakfast buffet without a doubt. Being a hotel in Italy meant the usual suspects were available, cold cheese and meat, croissants, brioche, toast etc. There were facilities for you to be able to make your own juices free of charge using oranges, celery and apples. I was making use of this luxury as in any other hotel I have stayed in, you are charged €2.50 for freshly squeezed orange juice! Tea was a range of Twinings so didn't feel too far away from home when drinking this. Other options were coffee and hot chocolate with cold and hot milk. I think the location of the hotel is very good if you prefer to stay in a quieter area of the city and are happy to travel inwards to see the attractions. I paid €15 to take the Milan Express train from the Airport to Cadorna and then changed to the Metro. Everything was pretty easy and if we needed help the staff at the stations were very helpful.

"GOOD"
Nikolina2304, 26 Mai 2018

Nice small and clean hotel. Very small rooms and bathrooms. close to the tram and only 10 min walk to the metro. Grocery store is near hotel. Good hotel for city break. Beds were really comfortable to sleep.

"Very clean, friendly staff"
Agnesess_7, 30 Avril 2018

Good hotel for city break, nice breakfast. I found bed really comfortable to sleep. We had room with bathtub, which was good size. There are lovely amenities in the bathroom. Room extremely clean. It is close to San siro and 30 minutes by tram to the city centre Duomo. There are very good restaurants 15 minutes away in Piazza de Angeli. Staff very friendly and reception just excellent. I do reccomend this hotel if you would like to explore Milan, or just to see football game.

"Disappointed from Best Western"
sivano381766, 19 Avril 2018

I've been in a Best Western hotels many times and that was the reason to book that one. Until now I was really happy with the brand. First disappointment was when we realized that the hotel is not on 1.8 km from the center like it says in the advertising before you book. It turns out that the hotel is on apx. 10-15min from the subway station and then you have like 10-15 min with the subway. The rooms were old not refurbished more than 10years atleast. But they were clean. Beds were disaster, not comfortable at all with spring mattress. I couldn't believe that this is Best Western hotel!

"Very small hotel for not more than 1 or 2 nights"
Karmicforce, 29 Mars 2018

Nice small and clean hotel close to the tram and only 10 min walk to the metro. Grocery store conveniently located next door. Front desk staff were friendly and had a good command of English. The room was cleaned well everyday. Breakfast was offered for a reasonable Euro 6. The cons: - Very small rooms and bathrooms (shower was extremely small) - Safe boxes are not offered in all the rooms - Thin pillows and hard mattress - No reply to emails requesting confirmation of booking -

"Nice small hotel"
Romi S, 20 Février 2018

Hotel is clean Staff is nice Specially mr. andrea at reception is very very helpful cooperative Other staff also nice Except Gregory in breakfast restaurant Seems racist Gave hateful looks Make me feel bad Rest everything wonderful

"Nice small clean hotel"
Huda L, 06 Février 2018

A nice small hotel in a quiet area, the hotel is very clean and there was a lovely receptionist lady who was very helpful explaining the map of milan and where to go. The breakfast is very nice alot of choice, tasty and fresh. There is a tram stop (number 16) behind the hotel which takes you to Duomo where the sites are. A nice comfortable stay.

"Good place for short stay"
mollyinboston, 28 Janvier 2018

Renovated, very clean hotel in the city, tram line 16 very close by takes you in 10 minutes to the Center of Milan. Good value, very good breakfast buffet with great coffee. Paid parking about a block from the hotel.

"Convenient for business trip"
C4526DSmartint, 04 Décembre 2017

Nice staff, excellent breakfast. Clean and quiet rooms. 10 minutes away from the metro station and 25 in total to the central area. Highly recommended. If I come to Milan again, I'd use the same hotel again. It is convenient especially if you travel for business as it is placed away from the noisy and intense central area but near enought to the metro station. In case you have forgotten a few basic things at home, do not worry - they can offer a razor, toothbrush, deodorant and shaving foam. Do not hesitate to ask the receptionist if you need something, they are extremely colloborative.

"Weekend break"
RuthH527, 27 Novembre 2017

Good stay at this hotel. Fair sized room and nice bathroom. Good breakfast selection. Out of the centre of Milan but has good transport links. No 16 tram stop just round the corner (5 mins) which will take you either to San Siro stadium or the Duomo. Lotto Metro stop is a 10 min walk away. There is a supermarket right next door and a Carrefour supermarket round the corner. Great restaurant across the road called Trattoria Toscana Primula...very good food at a reasonable price. I would stay at this hotel again.

"Great Value"
Mark B, 11 Novembre 2017

This hotel is approx 10 minutes from the Metro, easy to find. Was greeted with a warm welcome, the room was clean and the bed was very comfy.. good choice at breakfast.. The hotel is excellent value for money

"Astoria not too far from amenities"
Daniela19601201, 22 Octobre 2017

Astoria is in an area where there are good restaurants not too far from the metro and or tram. Pleasant stay and good furniture, good service and amenities in the area. Personnel flexible and at disposal, good quality drinks and small tapas

"Very handy location"
Barry C, 28 Septembre 2017

We stayed two nights at the Astoria while passing through Milan last weekend. The hotel was very clean and tidy, and Angela at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. We parked at the garage a short way down the street from the hotel, which was 15 Euro a night, which for city centre Parking is not bad. Otherwise parking would've been very difficult. The number 16 tram stops right behind the hotel and goes right to the Piazza Duomo, and takes about 15 mins. Tickets are 1.50€ and are good for 90mins travel on all public transport. The trams were very frequent and made travelling in and out of the city so handy. The tram also passed the site of the Last Supper, which if you've managed to book well in advance, is also an easy tram ride. All in all it was a handy location, close to the city. Our only comment would be that the walls are very thin, as others have mentioned. But we didn't find that to be too distracting and had two pleasant nights sleep.

"Not that impressive "
fs02489, 05 Septembre 2017

Stayed here for the Grand Prix, it was about 20min from Milan central station. The hotel charged us €54 when we left for local taxes and also for a bottle of water from the mini bar, it's not clear that the water is to be paid for (other reviews state they are complimentary). Breakfast is okay but they ran out of eggs and by the time they put more out my breakfast was cold. The air con in the room doesn't switch off completely leaving me with a dry throat and I'm now stuffed up with a runny nose and watery eyes. The shower head in the bath didn't fit so needed to be held up, not ideal. It was overall an okay hotel for somewhere to put down your head.

"Basic hotel."
Mark D, 04 Septembre 2017

The Hotel in a good area, but far away from the center of the city. The rooms and bathrooms a little outdated, but clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. If you are OK to stay out of the center and have a very basic room, then this hotel can be a good choice.

"City Trip with Basic City Hotel Stay"
Dan K, 30 Août 2017

Visited Milan in January. The hotel is near to good transport links. Easy to get around, definitely worth the money to get yourself a travel card and download the Milan Travel Network App. Visited lots of local sites by hopping on and off the trams and underground with the same card. The hotel was ok, nice selection for breakfast. Room was dated but we liked it.

"Good Hotel with Great Staff"
Kashif M, 28 Juin 2017

Stayed for 3 nights in June 2017. The room was small but clean and comfortable. Large supermarket right next door, 10 min walk to the nearest metro with easy access to central Milan. Staff were very helpful specially Ms. Angela. Directed me to some fantastic restaurants 10 mins walk from the hotel.

"Overall great hotel with great staff"
Maurice E, 26 Juin 2017

Stayed for 2 nights at the end of June. The room was big enough for a short stay, clean and comfortable (no smell of smoke as others have commented), fridge in the room with complimentary bottled water.... Very welcome as it was 34 degree . Large supermarket right next door, 10 min walk to the nearest metro with easy access to central Milan. Staff were very customer focused and very helpful. Directed us to a great flee market on Saturday and some fantastic restaurants on Saturday evening 10 mins walk from the hotel (well worth the walk). Better variety of restaurants than central Milan. Would stay there again..

"Nice hotel but a little away from the tourist centre"
Bailey9799, 25 Juin 2017

We spent two nights at this hotel as part of a tour. The hotel is around 20 minutes by underground and a short walk from the central railway station. We a five minute walk to the nearest stop. The room was fine, very clean but a little small, typical of a city centre Italian hotel. Great breakfast and friendly staff. There was supermarket next door if you need anything.

"Nice hotel with good transport links to city"
Susanna234, 29 Mai 2017

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of May. Very friendly and helpful staff. I found the room too smokey on the first night and they happily changed room for the rest of our stay which didn't have any smell of smoke at all. Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection. Tube was a 15min walk away which was a bit too long after a busy day out, but the tram which goes directly into the Duomo centre is just round the corner. The tickets work for both and we found the best value was the 48 hr ticket. You can buy them from newsagents(in the tube station), bars and the hotel. Would recommend the restaurant across the road - basic, excellent food, good value and full of Italians. If we could afford to stay more centrally we would but for the price a very good hotel

"Great hotel for San Siro"
Jock06, 29 Mai 2017

Three of us stayed at this hotel in May 2017 with one twin room booked and one single. We booked this hotel due to the positive reviews on Tripadvisor though I was a little apprehensive about the comments relating to the rooms being hot and the noise from the main street. In the end this proved to be unfounded as my room had air conditioning (activated by the controls near the door) so didn't need to open the window though when I did the sound didn't seem that bad. Overall the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Only negatives were the size of our room. We had a twin but given the size of the room the beds were right next to each other like a double bed. Also as far as I was aware there's no restaurant in the hotel but this doesn't matter as there's plenty to eat around there. In fact we spent a lot of time at the Globe Bar just up the road. An additional bonus is the small supermarket below the hotel so you can stock up on any provisions. Best thing about it though is its proximity to the San Siro. Just 10mins walk. If I go to the San Siro again I will definitely stay at this hotel.

"Small rooms but excellent customer service"
Charl0ttePDZ, 24 Mai 2017

We stayed at the Best Western Hotel Astoria for a few nights in May 2017. We had a room with two single beds. Whilst previous reviews are quite correct that the rooms are very small they are quite well appointed. The rooms have a mini bar, kettle, television and safe. You are provided with lots of toiletries in the bathroom which is great and the room was cleaned well throughout the duration of our visit. I would say that since the rooms are so small this is probably a hotel that you could only comfortably stay at for a few days. There is a continental breakfast on offer for €6 per day. Considering the price there is a good selection including bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, croissants, ham, cheese and jam etc. The element that made our stay was the customer service provided by the Hotel Astoria staff who were always extremely helpful and polite. They suggested places where we could eat affordably. They helped us with respect to affordable transportation using the Metro. They printed out our bus tickets for free so that we could get home from the airport in the UK. Overall they generally made us feel very welcome and for that reason we would definitely return to the hotel if we were minded to take another short trip to Milan.

"A little gem "
Wei X, 18 Mai 2017

The hotel is located quite close to the good bar/restaurant street nearby(sorry forgot the street name). There is about 10 minutes walk to the closest metro station, but there is a tram stop just behind the hotel. Just be aware that the metro line is every 10 mins so very different to London. The reception is small but well staffed, plus they are all very friendly. The Room we stayed is on second floor, nice and clean for the price we paid. Only noted that we can sometimes hear people talking next door.

"Resized... :)"
oChris90, 14 Mai 2017

I rarely saw such small rooms at a 4 star hotel. In fact, the whole hotel is resized, as if after designing it, they zoomed out on the plane. Otherwise, everything is pretty ok. The rooms are clean, odorless, the bathroom is good with Valentino tile in some rooms. Breakfast is enough for everyone but do not expect anything rich, we are in northern Italy. For how small the rooms are, I can't give more than 3 stars.

"Brilliant birthday break"
DocCJ, 27 Avril 2017

This was very a good value hotel. The room was small, but clean and adequate for us. Breakfast was a good selection, with friendly staff. Special coffees were offered free of charge too. I would like to mention in particular the reception staff, who were exceptionally helpful, providing directions to Metros, trams, etc. The two, who were particularly helpful to us were Adhuro (hope that is spelt correctly) and Claudio - many thanks :-) The location of the hotel was fine for us. Around 15/20 mins on the tram into the centre. There are a number of good value - but excellent - restaurants/pizzerias close to the hotel, so we didn't have far to go after eating! I saw an earlier review had mentioned the smell of smoke in the bathroom (they thought that a previous guest had smoked in there); however I think the problem is the A/C or vent in the bathroom. I went to the bathroom one night in the middle of our stay and there was a very strong smell of smoke. Either the smoke is being drawn in from outside or someone is smoking in their own bathroom but the smoke is drawn to other bathrooms using the same ventilation shaft. But it was not a major problem for me - I went back to sleep!

"Good for a short visit to Milan."
sollof, 29 Mars 2017

This hotel is about a 30 minute journey from the centre of Milan but is well located for the metro or tram service, the later being at the back of the hotel and the nearest metro station about a 10 minute walk, both easy to use. The reception is small but well staffed, open all night and the staff very helpful with good English spoken. Our room was very clean and comfortable, good wardrobe space and comfortable single beds, the bathroom was well equipped with a decent, but small shower. Only down side was that our room, on the eighth floor, was very hot and to open the window let in the noise of the trams. Did not use any other facilities but all looked very nice. Altogether good for a short stay in this beautiful city.

"Middle of the road"
Jonathan C, 13 Mars 2017

A decent hotel on the inner ring road a tram ride from Milan city centre. The staff were very helpful. The hotel lobby is very bright clean and modern while the hotel itself is well maintained but dated. The rooms are functional but not big or cramped. The on suite bathroom is fully fitted but having the shower head on the side wall rather than the end wall makes using the shower awkward. I realise the pipework comes through the side wall so that's where the mixer tap should be but the shower head could have been put on the end wall. Only minor but after 2 showers it becomes annoying. My other gripe which is linked to the age of the hotel is the lack of air con coupled with the fact that , as explained to me by the evening receptionist, they only have heating which is switched off due to the warm weather but this stops you being able to use the ducted fan for some ventilation. The sliding windows have a night roller shutter and external hinged windows that open inward into the narrow gap between them and the inner sliding window. However with the roller blinds down you can't have the outer window open and thus no fresh air plus it's a slightly busy road with ambulance route for hospital nearly opposite so having the window open lets in the noise. Ask for a room at the back. Despite being a non Non smoking hotel the bathroom in our room stank of cigarettes where the previous occupant had gone to avoid the room smoke detector and narrow opening window. The staff did their best to eliminate the smell with air fresheners but we weren't offered a room change. All in all not bad but it was booked as part of a mystery weekend away package. Personally I would have booked a room closer to the city centre as it was too far to nip back for a rest. That said if you're going to the nearby exhibition places it would be better.

"Comfy"
Gary A, 06 Décembre 2016

A lovely friendly basic hotel it does what it says on the box about 10 mins from the nearest metro station (Amendola) and it does a good selection for breakfast staff are helpful and will give recommendations for places to visit while you stay with them

"Comfortable"
???? ?, 09 Novembre 2016

The hotel is nice and clean, very good for this price. Breakfast is good, rooms are comfortable. But it us not really near fro metro station and there are not many restaurants or cafes around. To Duomo- 25 minutes (from Amendola), to centrale- 40 minutes (from Loto) with 1 line change. Very nice district of Milan, silent and green.

"Beautiful hotel"
Deborah F, 07 Novembre 2016

I came here to celebrate my birthday earlier on this year and the hotel was just gorgeous. Bedroom had everything you need, the restaurant was lovely (waiter was so generous - even gave us a basket of fruit with our meal). Taxis to the centre were roughly €8 which the receptionist kindly ordered for us and so many transport links. Such a fabulous hotel for a fabulous occasion :-)

"Great small hotel "
gh67, 27 Octobre 2016

I stayed here for one night on my way to US and it met all my expectations. The hotel is near a metro station and easy to get into central Milan. There is a large supermarket next door for all your needs and several restaurants and cafes nearby to cater for your budget and taste. The staff were very helpful and rooms were clean and comfortable.

"Pleasant surprise"
Cinzia G, 25 Octobre 2016

The hotel is located in a very trafficked area but the windows are great to keep the noise out. It's clean and well kept. The entire staff, from the people at the front desk to the maids at the floors, is very polite and helpful . There was always a smile for you

"Outskirts of Milan"
Postie314, 24 Octobre 2016

Room was clean and had a safe plus fridge. The room was hot and we had to open the window as there was no air-conditioning which then made it quite noisy. The pillows were rock hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was average. Staff were very helpful and keen to resolve any issues. Location of hotel is quite a way from the center of Milan although there is very good public transport nearby. We bought a 24hr travel ticket which allowed us to travel by any means of transport enabling us to see a lot of the city. We enjoyed eating out in the evening at The Primula across the road from the hotel. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for Milan.

"Football match"
ppuk1, 21 Octobre 2016

This is the second time I have stayed at the Astoria both times for an event at the San Siro. The location is great with great tram, bus and underground links which go straight to the San Siro (tram) and Duomo (underground) The rooms are comfortable, the bar we ice is great and the breakfast is really good value. Would I stay here for a trip that didn't involve a San Siro event, probably not but only because I would want to be right in the centre. It is a really good, comfortable, functional hotel.

"Touring"
Jgib97, 18 Octobre 2016

Good location near to metro and bus to centre if Milan. Clean and comfortable hotel, nice rooms. Although on main road windows are soundproof. Breakfast very nice and well presented hot and cold choice. Nice restaurant across from hotel for dinner. Very reasonably priced.

"Great location"
933Jules, 03 Octobre 2016

Location was good not too central but not that far out from everywhere we wanted to be. Tram to San Siro took 5 minutes and the underground to the centre was only 10 minutes. Hotel staff were lovely and the rooms were small but clean.

"Good for the San Siro"
Liam S, 20 Juillet 2016

We stayed at this hotel as we were attending the Bruce Springsteen concert at the San Siro. The San Siro is approximately 20 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel room was small and comfortable. The staff especially the reception staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the shower is on the small side. We would stay at this hotel again if we were attending an event at the San Siro.

"Good Value"
fleurpower, 14 Juillet 2016

Stayed there form 6-13th July and booked through Trivago. £315 for 2 B&B in Milan is very good value indeed. Good variety of breakfast, create your own fresh juice too. The room was of good size and toiletries were of a good selection too. No need for hair conditioner in Milan. The only criticism I have is that there were no drawers to put your clothes in like for t shirts and underwear. There was a mini fridge in the room which was good for keeping snacks and drink in. I would recommend this hotel for location as only a max of 10 mins walk from Lotto Metro which takes you to the centre of Milan. Flying into Linate, get the 73 bus to San Babila and then onto the Metro at the Duomo on the M1 Red Line take the rho fiera milano line to Lotto all for 1.50 euro.

"Average"
Susan M, 22 Juin 2016

Nothing bad nothing great. Just an average hotel with prices aligned to the quality it offers. I have been there a number of times, the staff was always nice, breakfast good enough, the rooms are a bit old but clean.. The only thing i was disappointed about is that the hotel claims to have an "environmentally friendly policy", so they'd change the towels only when one leaves them on the floor. In reality they don't seem to be applying this policy, and change towels and all every day. Not very environmentally friendly.

"Great for a quick overnight stay"
chrissylenny, 08 Juin 2016

Whilst on a driving holiday through Europe we ended up arriving in Milan very late and looking for somewhere to stay. We stopped at the Best Western Astoria and the young man on reception was extremely helpful and booked us in. He even gave us directions to a secure car park nearby where we could leave our car overnight. The room, whilst basic, was clean, comfortable and had all necessary amenities, including tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was clean and we were happy with the quality of this hotel for the price.

"Great location, San Siro is at walking distance."
Crossonero9, 29 Mai 2016

The hotel was easy to find using the metro, 2 stations within walking distance. I really enjoyed the service except the A/C was kind of hard to figure out but the weather was awesome so I liked having the window open and hearing Italy through my window. TV, restroom all the basics including a safe are in the room. Angela at the front desk was really great and the breakfast was amazing. Great value, my visit was to go watch AC Milan play, I walked to the stadium and was there in 20 min, great restaurants in the area. Loved it

"Champions league Final "
kaycole228, 29 Mai 2016

This hotel was ideally located for my business trip to the 2016 champions league final, it was within easy walking distance and much cheaper than the inflated prices of all the other Milan hotel. Single room was adequate for my 2 night stay. I did not get back to the hotel until 2.45am and did not really want to go to sleep but they would not serve me a relaxing beer which was very disappointing. The bathroom was a little small and poorly laid out, toilet stuck behind the bidet in the corner !?! Breakfast was good.

"Good hotel, good breakfast"
Dominic K, 12 Mai 2016

Stayed in Milan for 4 nights in May 2016. Really enjoyed our stay at Best Western Astoria. It was quite "businessy" which I presume is their target market. Nonetheless , breakfast was really good, very varied covering both continental and English breakfasts. Everything you needed was provided in the room, TV, safe, fridge (inc Minibar) hairdryer. Reception staff were also very lovely. Only down sides - it's a bit out of the main part of Milan, but Amendola station is about a 5-10 minute walk away. The rooms are slightly dated, but not unliveable in. It was 24 degrees during our stay and we had the "air con" on the coldest possible and it just didn't keep us cool at night, whilst still being warm.

"Visiting for football match"
maj0r, 13 Avril 2016

Stayed as it was a deal with the football tickets. Walking distance to San Siro. Metro close enough to get in to city centre. Staff really lovely. Barman remembered our drinks order the second evening. Breakfast good. Rooms a bit small but clean and did the job. Good inexpensive hotel. Would recommend.

"Offers a safe garage 24/7 service for a reasonable rate"
AnitaHerath, 04 Avril 2016

The place is near to Bus connecting Metro line at Lotto (or 10 min walking distance), near to good restaurants. Clean and tide. New sound damping windows. Good selection of breakfast buffet. Friendly and helping-hand staff.

"Solid Hotel in Milan"
orlando5182, 29 Mars 2016

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights specifically with it's proximity to San Siro Stadium to attend an AC Milan soccer match. It could not have worked out any better with it being a short 15 minute walk away. It is also very close to a Metro stop and has some very good restaurants/supermarket nearby. Front desk staff were very helpful.

"Be aware of the city tax!!!"
HayleyR96, 26 Mars 2016

Hotel in a good location outside of Milan centre which covers all the basics for this type of holiday- as we didn't spend much time in the room. Room consisted of a bedroom with a double bed and bedside tables, a desk, a wardrobe, a TV, a mini bar (use at a charge) and a safe which was free of use and a kettle and tea bags which was also free to use. The bathroom included a reasonably sized bath with shower fitting overhead, sink, toilet, boudet, hair dryer and a pull-out washing line. Fresh towels and linen was provided every day of our 3 night visit. The hotel also provided wi-fi that worked quite well in our first floor room. There was a thermostat in the room that we didn't use so can't really make a comment on that. Can't fault the continental breakfast and the staff were lovely. One thing we was not aware of until checking out is a €5 city tax per person per night- which is worth knowing as you've usually spent up by the time your leaving! In terms of location there are patisseries and restaurants nearby, a supermarket next door and a cash machine around the corner. About a 10 minute walk away there is a really nice (on the expensive side) restaurant called Da Vic which has great reviews on here- you have to book in to avoid disappointment! There is a bus (which I believe is free- we just got on at the back) opposite the hotel which 2 stops down takes you to the local underground lotto (or can walk 10 minutes). The lotto line connects directly to San Siro stadium and to Duomo (the Cathedral) or can change lines once to go to Milan Central, but there isn't much there other than the bus back to the airport. The underground can seem pretty daunting at first but it is actually really easy to use, cheap and really clean- puts the underground/trams in the UK to shame. For people who are not really into museums and galleries like myself, I would recommend Monza park as an alternative activity which we really enjoyed. The main reason for the trip was to see the San Siro stadium. Also at Monza park is the Monza formula 1 grid for those into sports or F1. Another thing worth mentioning is it's worth paying to have use of your mobile phone! Taxi ranks are few and far between, it's easy to get lost, and not as many people speak good English as I expected! I hope this review is helpful, as I have tried to mention things I have not seen mentioned in other reviews.

"Excellent "
chromemiller, 18 Mars 2016

Only stayed one night on a business trip, however a very pleasant stay, welcoming staff nothing was a problem. Very comfortable bed, rooms on the small side but very clean and had all the facilities your need. Recommend this hotel and Da Gaspare restaurant a short walk away, which was recommend by the hotel owner.

"Excellent"
xenofonp798, 10 Mars 2016

Everything was excellent. Very clean and comfortable room, rich buffet breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, great location very close to the subway and bus!!! We would definately stay there again!!!

"Great hotel."
Lyndasline, 18 Février 2016

This was a nice hotel close to public transit. It is about a 15 minute walk to the subway or less than 5 to the tram that takes you to the subway. Just be aware this hotel is not in a tourist area. Which is both good and bad) The free breakfast was great, eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruit pastries, fresh juice and coffee.

"Great place and friendly staff!"
Oana S, 15 Décembre 2015

The hotel is near the metro station and bus station and it is also near the main streets with shops and restaurants. You can walk like 15-20 minutes to Duomo. They have a rich breakfast, with everything including a mini bar with cheese selection. Our room was clean and quite big. The bathroom was great, we had shampoo, bubble bath, lotion and cover hair. We also had free wifi in our room. When we left we bought 2 urban tickets from the reception and i had only 2,70 euros, but the tickets were 3 euros. The receptionist gave me the tickets and said that i don't have to give him the other 30 cents. This shows how much they care about the customers and how nice they are! I will surely comeback at this hotel. It had everything i needed! Thank you!

"Cheap and cheerful"
Lian L, 23 Novembre 2015

The Best Western Astoria is a well priced hotel with friendly staff and a decent location which is a short train ride away from central Milan and the San Siro football stadium. I wouldn't recommend for couples as it is single bed style and the beds are very very firm and quite uncomfortable. If you're just on a getaway with friends it should be fine. Be sure to check out the La Primula restaurant around the corner if you stay here. It's outrageously good!

"The bath cabin is the smallest one i have ever seen in hotels"
Ems24_13, 23 Novembre 2015

Location : if you are in Milan to attend an exhibition in the Fiera Milano, then this hotel is a good choice to make. It is near a Metro station, bus lines passing right on the front street, and there is a Simply supermarket just next door. If you are there for shopping then this is not a very convenient area to be at. Hotel Room : very small, not much space for anything else but sit and sleep on the bed. The facilities and room and hotel decoration is equal that is of a rate of USD 60 in Jakarta while Astoria charged nearly four times that. There is a very clear street noise that can be heard from the rooms. Bathroom : very small, and yet they fit a bidet. The shower cabin is the smallest one i have ever found in a hotel. Wifi : worked well and good speed. Breakfast : Very good! They have an orange juicer that is great to use for making a glass of fresh juice.

"Great staff"
Scott F, 04 Novembre 2015

Visited here when I attended Host exhibition, the staff were extremely helpful recommending great restaurants and different drinks at the bar would definitely stop here again. The room was perfect for a business stay with everything you need and breakfast was good.

"Good Location, Helpful Staff"
PodiumPedro, 01 Novembre 2015

My fiancé and I went for a weekend away and got a good price on this hotel for 3 nights. We found that it was easy to get to use the Metro from main station. The room was a good size. It was clean and everything we need was there. The breakfast was a nice buffet style setup. Both of us ate very well before the day's outings. The staff at the front desk were very helpful when I ask about information on the football on the Sunday evening. And also some nice places to eat around the vicinity on the Saturday night when we just wanted to stay close and have an early evening. It's easy to get into the city centre with 2 Metro Stations nearby, the journey only took about 10 mins to get there.

"Pampering City Hotel"
Ariana H, 20 Octobre 2015

We stayed at the hotel for two nights September end and enjoyed every minute! The hotel staff was very welcoming and professional. Parking arrangement (not on premises) with clear instructions was adequately organized. Location was great for fair balance between cost and traveling distance to city center. Rooms were meticulously clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and varied, an absolute pleasure. Hotel facilities were spotless and pleasant. Can't wait to stay there again, for a longer stay next time we visit Milan.

"An Excellent Location for a Visitor With No Car"
robmacusa, 12 Octobre 2015

My wife and I had the opportunity to stay ten days at the Best Western Hotel Astoria in late August/early September. The hotel is in a location that is conducive to a great room at a great rate, as well as situated where all public transportation hubs are accessed easily... well, except for an airport. Overall the hotel was more than clean, and more than friendly. English is spoken well here, and the benefit of this became advantageous over the course of ten days. The staff's willingness to assist us in obtaining good food, good transportation, and recommending local sites to visit were greatly appreciated. Aperitivo there was a friendly and fulfilling interlude when our schedule put us there to take advantage of relatively inexpensive, yet great-tasting drinks and a relatively wide selection of finger food. Breakfast, however, was one Hotel Astoria activity not to be missed. There was a wide variety of -great- food and commensurate excellent service. Don't ignore any offers for morning food! Our hotel room was well equipped and quiet, with the exception of two evening's worth of thunderstorms. Climate control within the room was easy to use, and efficient. We had no opportunity to use guest services much with the exception of an additional trash can placed in the room, and laundry service. Laundry service is expensive but the results of the service were excellent. The furnishings and room sections such as closets, floors, and bathrooms were of high quality and in good shape. Our visit to Milan put us out of the hotel the majority of each day, so other accommodations the hotel offered were not used while we were there. When we were in our room, we really appreciated the quality and cleanliness of the bed and bedding. Television channels were aplenty, and included a few English speaking ones, although I have to admit it was more entertaining watching old Italian movies. My recommendation is to definitely put Hotel Astoria on your list of hotels to consider while planning for and visiting Milan.

"F1 basecamp"
Mikedebowl, 12 Septembre 2015

We stayed here for 6 nights for our honeymoon. We mainly used it as a base for the f1 at monza. Room was nice and tidy. Staff were always friendly and polite. Couldn't ask for better. We used the room service for 1 night as got back late, pizzas were good value and nice and big, certainly did the job. Would recommend in Milan.

"Value for money!"
BSchembri, 19 Août 2015

We used this hotel to be close to the San Siro stadium (it's within walking distance) the place is really lovely, clean and the breakfast is awesome :) plus it wasn't too expensive for a 4 star hotel! :)

"Fantastic staff"
Yonah2014, 25 Juin 2015

Location great, in walking distance of Duomo. room neat and bed comfortable. straightforward continental breakfast with bread, granola or hot buffet. staff super helpful, willing to advise on local restaurants, ways to museums and when I lost my passport marveouslly helpful. great for those wanting a long weekend in Milan!

"Good hotel"
kevin w, 01 Juin 2015

A very nice trendy hotel with a modern dinning area. Good breakfast nice variety of choice. Very friendly and helpful staff. A fair but pleasant walk to the metro be aware of coming out of the wrong exit as there are quite a few I found the loto metro easier as you just keep mc Donalds on your right as a land mark but both stations are easily accessible and the metro is brilliant not only for prices but the ease of use. My only complaint was a noise issue a constant rumbling sound whether it was the water heating, air conditioning I even wondered if it was the metro I was in a room at the end of a corridor and wondered if I had a riser unit next door with some form of power source. I checked lower floors which also had this rumbling sound going on one night I found it hard to get back to sleep and became a little frustrated with this constant noise. Apart from that I really liked this hotel and is easy to from the Milan Cordona.

"nice hotel, but far from the centre of town"
WimvanOostende, 31 Mai 2015

we stayed here because we had a voucher from a travel-website, and had a verry cheap rate, so I don't have to complain about the distance to the city centre, which is actually okay, a short walk to the tube, and from there, in a couple of minutes you're in the centre and near the railway stations. But if you're not accustomed to the city, this plice is hard to find. Anyway, staff, rooms, breakfast and service are what you could expect in a "Best Western". I suppose this is an ideal place to stay for businessmen, but for tourists, i'd recommend to stay somewhere closer to the centre, unless, like us, you can book the rooms at verry cheap prices
