« Great hotel if you like a very hard mattress »

There is a lot to love about this hotel. They really try -- from the free welcome aperitif of your choice to the free afternoon tea with cakes everyday 4-5, bathrobe on request, safety box, all 3 important English business channels, great friendly and caring staff, tea and kettle on request, refrigerator in room, ironed sheets changed daily... But people come to a hotel most importantly for a good night sleep and the mattress and pillows are just too hard and uncomfortable--at least for my taste. Hotel should offer a soft mattress pad (placed under the top sheet -- on request) and alternative fluffy pillows for those who request such. Also internet keeps dropping off and you need to reconnect too often. Very annoying and difficult to work. If you like a hard (like concrete) mattress I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. If, not I would look elsewhere. The Hilton Milan mattress is great. Hotel's Location 2 blocks from Corso Buenos Aires and 20 minute walk from Duomo and Central train station.

    « Superbe »

A really good place. Very well situated, near the metro and all the good places to visit!! A staff very helpful. A really good breakfast!! The bedroom decoration a bit simple but way enough for 3 days in Milan!

    « I liked their breakfast »

Well the hotel is nice Very friendly staff Near the metro station and near Buenos Aires street. I liked the Italian breakfast they offer. The room is nice and very clean. Although it is not a modern. Next time it will one of my choices.

« Fine for a one night stay »

This is an easy walk from Milano Centrale, ~8 minutes. And it is a lovely walk from th hotel to the fashion district, La Scala, the Duomo, etc. We found a great restaurant for dinner just 3 blocks away. There is a tea at 4pm and happy hour starts at 6pm. The breakfast was very typical ranging from cereals, to meats and cheeses, to pastries and tortes. We have traveled throughout Italy ~12 times in the last 8 years and are thoroughly familiar with their bathroom/shower setups. The shower divider at this hotel was inadequate and flooded the floor despite best efforts. The pillows were flat and inadequate. The bed was fine.

« Decent stay for Milan »

Recently stayed at this property as most of the hotels within walking distance to the Central Train Station were sold out. The cab ride for 3 people was under 10 Euros. Upon check-in, I was a little surprised by how small the lobby is, but the great customer service and the room made up for it. I stayed in a suite on the 4th floor (Rm 403), and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. There wasn't much of a view from the room, but thats ok. The walk to the M1 Metro line took about 7-10 minutes and was at the Duomo Milano within about 10 minutes. For my next trip to Milan, I will try to stay close to the railway station due to convenience, but would not hesitate to stay at the Best Western if they were all sold out.

« Really nice hotel awesomely located »

I was really positively surprised with this hotel - located 5 minutes walk from Central Station and 15-20 minutes walk from city centre. We didn't use public transport at all during our stay in Milan, as we really didn't need it. Stuff was very nice also. We had breakfast included, and it was really good value, considering how much the same stuff would cost around. Only two things that could improve: - Chairs in room as quite handy, but not when you have children above you pushing them during a child play. Maybe they can do something and put on the bottom to try to fix the sounds. - Air conditioning is quite cool actually, really no strange AC smells and stuff, we were positively surprised - but AC was, I don't know, drunk? Turning on and off on it's own will, and in the end we agreed with stuff to turn it off overnight for good, which was OK for us. Would stay there again, and would definitely recommend it.

« Among Better hotels during Italian trip »

Stayed from 18/06 to 20/06. One of better hotels booked by our travel agent. Rooms were definitely good, comfortable beds. Breakfast among the best during entire trip of 18 days. Staff quite courteous and helpful. Additionally they serve tea in afternoon with some small biscuits/pastries which is nice touch. Location wise though little away from Station as also major sight seeing sights, is quite well connected with local transport.

    « Meeting in Milan »

the hotel position is excellent for people have work or city center visit for short time. the staff is very friendly and they make sure to do everything they can to make your stay comfortable as much is possible. the area is noisy during the day until 10 PM, so it highly recommended to choose back side room

« Modern Hotel, with Old Charm! »

A quick visit to Milan, not impressed with the city, but the St. George was a great place to escape. Very roomy and comfortable for the three of us. They prepared a separate bed for our daughter and we were able to have a private room for ourselves. Lots of space and nice bath. The rooms still hold some old hotel charm, but have all modern amenities. The staff was very helpful and all spoke excellent English. They even recommended a very excellent place to eat for dinner, Mama Rosa's. So good!

« Average hotel, easy location »

We stayed for a long weekend with a young baby... Did not expect stairs to reach reception, not a big problem, one female member of staff always rushed to help, the others just smiled and watched each time we went in or out. The lifts are also very small, took a bit of time to fit the pushchair in and take it out. Cleanliness was average, a hair in the shower before using it, the floor in the room didn't feel very clean. No robes or slippers provided, but I think you can request it. The water and provided shampoo/shower gel are very drying on the skin/hair- bring your own. The hotel provided a free travel cot, had a rip but functioned fine. Breakfast was very average, a small selection of hot food in the corner, then the usual pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc.. Overall, I usually like Best Western hotels but was a bit disappointed by this one, there were no nice little touches or details, but a good location for shopping.

« Very nice hotel not far (30 minutes walk) from the city's attractions. »

My room 204 and bathroom were very clean and of a good size. Beds were comfortables. The breakfast was very good with a good choice of cheeses, cold cuts, juices, water (flat and "frizzante"), fresh fruits, yoghurts, croissants and different kind of breads. You can also press fresh oranges in a juicer! The service is also very good and polite. They even gave us a free welcome drink. It was easy to get a taxi in the morning. From the hotel to the Milano Centrale train station (10€). To get to Milan tourist office (Zani Viaggi tours) 12€. If you have the Hop on Hop off (with your Milan Pass = worth it), you are next to the #9 bus stop on the blue line or near a metro station near Venezia gate. The walk from the hotel to the Duomo it is very easy and a nice walk because you can do some window shopping (Dolce & Gabbana, etc). I would return to this hotel, I was not disappointed in any way.

« Some highs, some lows »

We stayed for a quick overnight during a road trip following a long day at Zion. In terms of distance it was a perfect balance between getting back to the highway while not driving forever following a long park day. The hotel was very clean and apparently has a 24 hour workout room and a hot tub, but we never tried those out. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. However, the tub was very slow to drain (standing in a puddle before the end of the shower). The bed was also less than amazing. The pillows were lumpy and the bed pad was not attached to the bed, meaning that it could be felt bunching under the sheets. The bed was also very soft, so I found myself rolling into the deeper depression left by my husband. Breakfast was the high point of the stay -outstanding. All of the food was fresh, including a made to order omelette station and make your own waffles. The breakfast was well staffed with attentive employees and was great grounding for our long drive ahead.

    « Close to everything! »

Steps to Shopping on Buenos Aires, kind and helpful staff who spoke great English. Not and overwhelmingly fancy hotel but provides great value if you aren't trying to spend a fortune. Would recommend and stay again. Less the 1.5 miles to the cathedral.

« Large room, good location »

Location is good, 15 mins walk to Milan Central Railway station, 15 mins walk to Duomo, 1 min walk to Porta Venezia M1. The room is spaceious, clean, breakfast is good, hotel offer free afternoon tea from 4pm to 5pm, we got complimentary soft drink between 6pm to 10pm (we dont have time to enjoy it:). We arrived by car, hotel provides offsite valet parking, charge at 25 euro per night. Upon check-in, I asked the receptionist for late checkout around 3:30pm, he told me no problem, however, on the check out date, I went to the reception to double check whether it is still fine, the girl said 2pm will be no charge and any extra hour will be charged 10 euro. 10 euro is only a small money, the problem was why they made the guest unhappy and why dont they keep their words? Even worse was that, when I pay 10 euro upon check out, she said no charge. What is the point?

« Great location and staff friendly and very helpful. »

Great location and lovely walking to the centre. Room quite small but kept very clean and air conditioning working ok. Kept window closed as room facing main road and could be noisy. Breakfast was basic. Reception staff excellent and so helpful with details on getting to places and resturants etc.

« Nothing really to critizise »

Or in other words: all in all good: friendly and helpful staff, good rooms (however a bit small including the bathroom) and beds. Clean. Nice breakfast. Valet parking via third party. The lobby is a bit odd as you have to get up a few stairs without elevator. Finally one point though: the terrace could need some care: it is a bit outworn.

    « St.George 4* hotel ?? »

I spent at Milan 3 days in May. We used to book different hotel but as the one was fully booked I decided to try St.George. I would expect much more from 4* hotel..Location is perfect if you are travelling for shopping and want to be close to the city center. We had room at 1st floor, it was very small especially bathrom. Windows were on the street where close to tram route which make a lot noise also at the night. I will be definetally comeing back to the city but for sure not to this hotel, it wasnt worth the money...

« Good location but Air conditioning problem »

The hotel is in a great location but the air conditioning was not working properly. We had to change the room because of the AC problem; The second room was quiet small with just a shower and facing a noisy street, hard to sleep on a Thursday. The breakfast was nice and the staff was listening to our requests.

    « Will come again »

I spent a long weekend there, with 2 friends. We had a large room with double bed and one comfortable couch in the living space, 3rd floor. Clean. Very friendly reception. Breakfast ok. Location very good, close to metro, 3 stops away from Duomo. Shopping area around the corner. All in all: very good place to stay when visiting Milan!

    « Diane »

Excellent stay. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff extremely helpful and only a short journey into the centre of Milan.Remember most museums are closed on Mondays and popular attractions often need to be booked in advance.Thank you Nicollete

    « Good choice »

It's a very nice hotel but when we enter to the room we couldn't believe how small it is. You have literally no space for anything. And the double bed was also very small. But forgetting about that it was ok. Very clean, the stuff very helpful and the breakfast very good. The famous Corso Buenos Aires is 2 min walking and the city centre 3 metro stations.

    « 5 days trip »

The hotel is in a good area. You can arrive very easy in all important places of Milan.I think this is the only good thing. The hotel it is to noisy, you can hear the tram from the street, the doors opening and closing. Its much to noisy,at least for me.The breakfast has a very small room, you must wait for a place. The people in reception are very kind and try to help you with everything..There is also a smell, maybe from the o-sone air which they use.Really it is a maximum 3 stars hotel. But for the price you pay i think its ok.There are some good restaurants near by.enjoy

    « Recommend! »

We stayed in a triple room! Everything was very good, sitting area with a single room and tv , the. You walk to another double bed with a tv nicely separated from the other one with a slide door! Friendly staff and good choice of breakfast... Easy to commute and reach everything!

    « Ok-ish place, slightly overpriced »

The good: - friendly staff The bad: - smalls rooms - non-4 star breakfast buffet - short (190 cm), semi-comfy beds - no hotel parking (despite they claim they had) All in all, not worth the price though ok as a fallback option.

    « Smallest bed ever! »

I think we had booked the "Classic" room. On the website, it sure looks roomy! But boy oh boy, it was the smallest hotel room we've ever stayed in! The bed was the smallest Queen I've ever slept on, smaller than a Double for goodness sakes! The bed was pushed against the wall, so I had my husband pull it out about 6 inches (so that I could go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without climbing over him!). During the 3 nights we slept on that bed, I had to sleep on my side to give him adequate room (and he is not huge, just average), and when I turned in my sleep, I fell off the bed on my side, but luckily for the extra 6" (we'd pulled the bed from the wall), I got wedged in there! But such interrupted sleep! I really couldn't believe the size of that bed, for 2 persons! We laid ourselves on the bed side by side, and there was no extra space at the edge! We honestly didn't get a decent night's sleep in that hotel! There was one upright chair, the TV was fixed above the wall, there was just enough space to put 2 suitcases open on the floor, and then there's no room to walk. The bathroom was modern and roomy though! Perhaps it was because we were placed in a corner room (although normally corner rooms in hotels are the roomiest!), as when we walked past opened doors of some of the rooms being cleaned during our stay, those rooms looked much much bigger! The hotel corridor is narrow, and there's only one lift for the guests (another lift is for staff and won't work for guests), which was super slow..we counted...20 seconds to start from reception to go past 1st floor. Wifi is included and so is breakfast. Breakfast I must say, was impressive. It had a juicer that one has to peel one's own fruits and make your juice (first time I've seen this in a 4 star hotel in Europe), lots of choices such as choices of cold cuts, cheeses, yoghurt, breads, cakes, cereals, salads, dressings, fruits, scrambled eggs, sausages, milk, tea & coffee, other juices...Location wise, round the corner, is the subway station. As we didn't go out for dinner, I can't tell about restaurants, but I remember we did pass some. Our room was very noisy, facing the street (we were on the 2nd floor), and I could hear the tram. Upon arrival at the hotel, one has to climb up (not good for seniors or with heavy luggage) stairs to get to reception and the reception desk is a tiny counter and no waiting area. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful though. They had maps to give out and were most happy to direct us to tourist sites. Unfortunately we were in Milan when the hotels were all very fully booked, otherwise, we would've moved out.

« Simple and sweet hotel »

This hotel has nice and clean rooms and also clean corridors. They serve good breakfast. The hotel is close to metro station so it is easy to commute to any place in the city. My wife liked this hotel.

« Very well located hotel in Milan »

We only stayed in St. George for one night after arriving from Sicily at 22:45pm at Linate. Very well located near metro and tram lines, St George was a very affordable choice for our only night in Milan. Breakfast was very nice but it seemed there were not enough seats in the last hour. After check-out the staff secured our luggage so we could walk to the Duomo area. 15-20 enjoyable minutes near gardens and beautiful buildings that we couldn't see if we were lazy and took the metro. After a few hours, we were on our way to Malpensa and again, the location of the hotel 5 minutes away from a tram to Centrale was very important. Rooms clean, bathroom very well equipped. Reception and breakfast staff very friendly. Apart from a few noisy guests at 7:30 in the halls (that the hotel can't be blamed for) our stay at St George was what we expected. Will recommend to anyone doing short layovers at Milan without doubt. Location, location location

« Average Hotel with good customer service »

The location is not walking distance to the major tourism areas in Milan, unless you really enjoy walking long distances like I do. There is a subway stop just around the corner that most people could figure without too much effort. The breakfast was above average. The friendly front desk staff was very helpful. My major disappointment was lack of quality restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

« well positioned for sight seeing. easy to get to from airport. »

room was always clean and made up. staff were very friendly and always willing to help. only real draw back would be access for disabled people as there is a half flight of stairs at the front door to the reception. breakfast was included everything from bacon and eggs , cereal to croissants. tea and cakes was served at 1700 to 1800 although the notice in the lift said 1600 to 1800. Milan is served by a large number of trams as well as the metro. maps of the roads / metro are available at reception. a map of the tram network would be very handy as they cover Milan better than the metro. tickets for the metro also cover the buses and trams, so you don't have to buy separate tickets. although we were in room 207 we were actually 5 stories high. the hotel is above a cinema. but you wouldn't no it unless you looked. would definitely use this hotel again.

    « Great deal »

The staff was very friendly when we arrived late in the evening. The aircondition was very good and we slept well in the beds. the rooms looked nice and som did the bathroom. Breakfest was also good. A quality hotell through and through. Would go there again.
