I was in Mexico city for 4 days on business and our travel coordinator booked me into BW Estoril as other venues were either unawailable or too expensive. My first reaction when I saw the room (313) was to run elsewhere immediately, but it was already very late at night and I couldn't find another option, so I had to stay there for one night... Old and extremely warn hotel with cracks in the wall, mold in the bathroom, everything looking like it wasn't renovated since 25 or 30 years ago. The room was large enough and sort-of clean, but it all felt like a second-tier 1 star motel, rather than a Best Western property in a capital city. The only postive thing about the place was its night front manager who was nice and kind and really went out of his way trying to accommodate me and my colleague

Good location in the city nice staff Big rooms a bit old but ok Poor breakfast WiFi ok (when working..) We stayed 5 days here, the best point is the location in the historical center of the city, the nearby San Juan 78 market is a good place for local food

Stayed for 3 days in this hotel. Comfortable rooms Near to the center of the city Simple but okay Clean rooms The hitel is a good starting point for vusiting Mexico City. I would recommend it as well for tourist as for business people

Really had a dissapointing visit. The room itself was ok size, but bed not very confy and the service was absolutely dissapointing. The cleaning staff came to bang the door in the morning even if you had "do not disturb", they actually came two times even with the DND note. The best was when the toilet was glogged. I went down to reception asking if there would be someone who could open the toilet. A guy came to check and notice yes the toilet is jammed. He went to tell the reception. Once I came back from town in the evening the toilet was still jammed. The internet connection in the hotel was on/off, mostly off. The front desk doesn´t speak English. They didn´t call a wake up call even though I asked one... therefore cannot really recommend this hotel to anyone. I think only good think about the hotel is it´s nearby location to city center. Otherwise nothing to compliment, absolutely nothing.

We arrived and asked if they would match the hotels.com price. They declined and said I needed to make the reservation on the website and then check back in but it would probably take a few hours for the reservation to go through so I should just make the reservation with them. Thanks but I had been in mexico about a week at that point and any sales tactic I knew was a straight lie. So I made the reservation online and it showed up in their system in less than 10 min. We got the room and it was comparable to a Motel 6 in Bakersfield, CA. Well maybe a little nicer but it was dirty. The sheets had stains which made me question whether they were cleaned or not. No bed bugs from what I saw, but we still didn't bring our luggage up just to be safe. The best part of this hotel which is why they got two stars was the parking. It was a guarded garage that was included in the price. I would recommend staying at a different hotel for the same price or for a little more. The dollar goes a long way and would pay off in getting a nicer hotel.

This area had signs that at one time it was an upscale area, but the city has left them behind!!! It is a very tired hotel. The desk staff are indifferent. Service lacking here. Our room was clean and neat. The restaurant, very large, had impeccable service. The food was good. There is almost nothing nearby. We did walk to a gorgeous church for Mass. Really pretty, so many flowers. Just a couple of blocks further was a public market. It was full of interesting produce. The next day we walked the other direction and found a market for chefs. All the produce was exotic. There were butchers with EVERY kind of exotic meat--crocodile, wild boar, ostrich, bison, even lion and tiger. (though I do not know how one could be assured of this!!). There was a hamburger stand in the market and they served hamburger made of these meats and all manner of insect as well. Right next door to the hotel was a sweet Italian-style coffee bar. One morning we sat and had coffee and chatted with the owner. She is an artist and painted all the oils on display there. It is quite far from town, but if one walked a distance, one could get the Metro and go wherever. We were there for 3 nights and it allowed us to gear down after a very hectic 1-week trip. The service of one of the two elevators had very sketchy service.

I spend just one night, the Hotel staff was kind, but they could not speak English. The room was big with a small den and two big TVs that I really didn't need. It was the only 3star hotel with bathtub; however it was too old. In general it was not a pleasant place for vacation. I also found bed bug. Although the Zocalo is not far, streets are kind of lonely and you all stores in that street selling car parts.

All in all I'd have rated this hotel as very good because the rooms are large and the amenities are modern. On check in they give me a slip of paper with the password and unsuccessfully tried to get online from my room. I called the lobby and was told to just enter the password. Hmm! I tried again and finally went to the lobby with my laptop to complain and then noticed that the wi-fi in the lobby works. . . and with the same user name and password as on the floors. I was then told all buildings in the area are having difficulty because the web providers are digging up the streets to install new cables. So I was forced to compose my emails in my room and then go down to the lobby to send them out. Ugh! During my frequent visits to the lobby I'd ask other guests if they too had problems getting online from their floors and they confirmed it was true. I cannot believe that if the lobby wi-fi works well then some smart employee can get the floor wi-fis to work also. And if new cables are being installed under the streets why did the lobby wi-fi work?

The hotel is located in noisy neighbourhood, not convenient place, around 2 mile from the historic centre. The hotel is very old and not really 3*. My room was a super king size and it was big room with a little separate living room, with two big tv's. The only hotel that had bathtub, but it was too old. I had free breakfast included, but they charged me 140 pesos for omelette. the breakfast buffet was Ok. The staff was very friendly and nice though. I only stayed one night at this hotel due to the inconvenient of the location.

we booked this hotel through Hotels.com. We got an excellent price and the hotel accomodated our early checkin by allowing us to keep our luggage in safe place.Rooms are well appointed and have huge space.Breakfast spread was normal. The staff although could not speak english , although some of them could , were very helping .They arranged a taxi drop to the airport at decent rate and suggested a big car to accomodate 5 persons and lot of luggage.Overall the rating was very good close to excellent and value for money. The historic centre is just 7 blocks away and is walkable just 5-10 min. Metro stations within 5 min of walk.Most suitable hotel to visit Mexico city.

I was very weary at the beginning, since that area of CDMEX is not very safe, but as soon as I saw the Best Western logo, I felt better. However, when I enjoyed the personal service, the comfortable rooms, a little slow wifi, but wifi nontheless (most of wifis in CDMEX are slow), and the price: I was sold. In fact I'm going back in a couple of weeks, and I'm staying there once more.

It seems that some people who pay one star prices are shocked when they don't get five star service.Having read some negative comments about this hotel, i was somewhat surprised to find it was not to bad. Yes there is room for improvment, but for the price i paid i got value for my money! The rooms were big, clean and were fully equiped. For a stay of one or two nights no problem. The breakfast was ok.

The staff either do not speak English or have a very poor command of the language which I would think would be an essential requirement for communication in an international hotel. Choose a different hotel if you cannot speak fluent Spanish! Also the hotel is showing signs of needing an update. The electronic room locks were very problematical with very frequent attention required by the staff in order to gain entry. However the staff tried to be as helpful as they could.

We had average experience. Guest room carpets need replacement with commercial grade carpets or tiles, Also bed blankets need replacement. Breakfast was good. Very conveniently located to the city center. Communication with the desk staff and restaurant staff was problem as no one spoke English.

We spend just one night, the Hotel staff was very kind. We didn't have the chance to taste the food. Ubication of this Hotel is fine if you are on business trip, vacation not to good, although the Zocalo is not far streets are kind of lonely. Near is a food place called "El Cuadrilatero" a place to taste very very very nice tortas and the place is decorated with "Mascaras de Luchadores" mask of different and famous fighters.

Coould not find my reservation in ther system. They told me I had to print it out. i only had it on my phone. I had to explain three times to the clerk that I had no way to print. Finally another helped me and I sent the reservation to the hotel email. Matress covered in plastic and quite worn out. Slow check out. Sorry but I will not be back to this hotel.

Typically at BW you know what to expect and are seldom surprised although from time to time disappointed. This proved to be the case at the BW Estoril. The hotel is advertised as being in the Historico Centro of Mexico City. True enough I guess, but they fail to mention it is also in the middle of a commercial part of the Centro. Street noises in Mexico City are impossible to shut out and I think the BW just didn't bother trying. Our stay (10 nights) was a constant buzz. On the upside, the first few nights had few other guests. Nights 4 and onwards had people in rooms to either side of us. Although concrete, the walls are paper thin. The elevator also has no door safety mechanism to prevent it closing on you (ouch). Rates included an American style breakfast - fine as long as you like eggs every single morning. Our last morning we begged the front desk to allow us to have hot cakes and they relented. Front desk staff were always ready to help but unfortunately my belief is they require more training. Big kudos to Juan Antonio Rivera from Human Resources who, seeing the restaurant was way understaffed one morning started bussing tables, making coffee, taking orders and serving them.
