Best Western Plus Mentor-Cleveland Northeast

Hotel smells old and musty. Years overdue for a refresh. Ancient, stained furniture. Ridiculous in wall AC with cheap remote control. Dark, insufficient lighting. Bright and clean website pictures must have been taken years ago, highly deceptive. Would have left immediately after check in, however was too late to book viable options. Upon checking out at 8AM the clerk attempted to bill me for a second night due to my "late checkout." Finally paid only for the night I stayed, so that was resolved satisfactorily. Dreadful experience.

Well .maintained and unique property, with charming (not typical chain hotel) interior. we stayed in the winter, but are looking forward to a summer time stay near lake Erie. this is our midpoint between Indianapolis and Syracuse.

Was in town for a track and field meet. The hotel was quiet and near popular places such as target, Walmart, and olive garden. Included breakfast was a nice surprise. Onsite coffee tea machine was a lifesaver. Nice hotel with friendly staff definitely will stay again next year.

This is our 3rd stay and we'll keep coming back. On a previous visit the tub didn't drain properly. On this visit we were told the room had specifically been checked to ensure everything was okay. It was and we were very impressed they took our previous feedback into consideration. Breakfast is always good and they make great coffee.

This hotel is warm and comfy--like a B&B. It has the amenities of a large hotel. But it is neither. B&B's often lack privacy, not so with The Lawnfield Inn, Best Western Plus of Mentor. Large hotels have inhouse dinning, a bar, and an outdoor pool. The Lawnfield--ditto.

I tend to shy away from this chain of hotels, but my husband convinced me to give it a go. So very glad we did. We absolutely loved it! Lovely service at check in, efficient and kind. Our room was cozy and clean, just delightful. I love the decor when you walk in to the hotel, it's so well done. I just cannot wait to stay here again! I did not eat the breakfast so I can't comment. Lots of free parking as well. Don't hesitate to stay at this hotel!

This was our 3rd visit over 7 +/- years. We love the country inn elegance of the place -- we don't feel like we're in a chain hotel here. The colors in wallpaper, artwork, and woodwork all add to the comfort and individuality of the place. Of course, it has the cleanliness, the supplies, and the good front desk service of a Best Western Plus. The only disappointing part was that the restaurant has closed. The clerk told me that they hope to reopen. Fortunately, we found a wonderful restaurant 5 minutes away: Noosa Bistro.

Did not expect much as this is an older hotel and hear guests complain about the smells etc. I received my requested room and appreciated it very much as it was very quiet. This hotel must have good sound dampening. The pool is a little cold but when very hot out it was enjoyable. Breakfast area is in basement so it does have that damp musty smell but the breakfast area was not smelly. Breakfast was good had eggs , bacon , those small muffins, yoghurt. staff is great here. Marquita at front desk was excellent. Breakfast staff keep area clean and stocked and very friendly as well. Workout room hardly used so I was easily able to do my 30 min early morning workouts. Has Treadmill, Elliptical and Bike , also free weights.

The Best Western Plus Lawnfield Inn is the BEST place to stay when visiting the area. The staff is warm and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Breakfast is great. A nice selection of FRESHLY prepared eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. Also, yogurt, breads, pastries, cereal, assortment of juices, and coffee. You won't need to eat lunch. Come back for a relaxing drink in the lounge followed by a nice selection of entrees for dinner in their very own restaurant, Skye Bistro.

Staff was so friendly especially the lady at breakfast. We were on the first floor. Room 108. A nice spacious room with separate sleeping area. Lots of counter space. Everything worked fine. Only con was water noise and a little foot traffic noise from the room above. Pros: easy access to the parking lot. Breakfast was ok. The complimentary coffee from the coffee machine by the front desk was nice. Also the ease of access from the street was good. All in all a very pleasant three night stay

This is a cute hotel with large rooms and comfortable beds. Check in is very slow and the prices are way way too high for a location that doesn't even cut their grass. This used to be one of our favorite hotels because it has a "visiting Grandma" feel to it. It has a sweet little patio but they are not taking care of it.

My husband and I had always wanted to stay at this hotel. It was a wonderful experience. The front deck clerk, Hilary, was very nice and gave me some information about the hotel. Our room was fabulous. We are both handicapped and there was a shower chair in the bathroom. This was the first hotel that had a shower chair in the bathroom. We will recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a place to stay close to us.

We have frequently stayed at this motel/hotel from time to time over a twenty year period. It is very nice, always up to date, rooms are well furnished, clean, and now a restaurant is present as part of the lobby (nice but pricey). It the hotel is more in the style of a bed and breakfast than a hotel, sort of quaint and homey in ambiance.. Staff is excellent. Coffee in lobby is nice.

This hotel does a great job of making you feel at home and is a great model of Best Western Plus hotels. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The breakfast is great with a varied selection each day. My family has stayed here before and were eager to return.

Traveling from Chicago, heading East, this is the perfect spot to stop for our first night's stay. It's just the right distance from from Chicago and gets you through the Cleveland traffic. We planned on seeing James Garfield's home first thing the next morning, so this was the added benefit of staying here. The breakfast is wonderful and it was a special treat to eat off of real plates and silverware. I highly recommend staying here and will plan on coming back.

Nice hotel that allows pets for $30 charge. Sometimes pet friendly also means shabby Not in this case. Comfortable beds, quiet location. Pet area small. Great breakfast. This is a smaller hotel off the highway a bit. A hotel clerk from another hotel that didn't take pets recommended.

This hotel is located about 45 minutes from the airport in Cleveland. The room was clean. It included an iron, ironing board, a TV, safe, hairdryer, refrigerator, coffee pot, and free wifi. There was no microwave in the room I stayed in. A full buffet breakfast is included with the room. It has a gym, outdoor pool, free parking and an onsite restaurant. Most of the staff were pleasant. I would stay here again.

We stayed at the Best Westerns Plus Mentor mainly for it's location and value. The Pros: The hotel itself was clean and charming. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and quiet. The breakfast was satisfactory. The Cons: The pillows were lumpy and the TV in our room didn't work.

On a previous trip to Mentor, my husband, mother & me dined at the Skye Bistro within the hotel & we were so pleased w/ the restaurant, atmosphere & lobby of hotel, that we decided when we returned to Mentor for a family funeral, we would stay at the hotel. I have never stayed at a BW Plus before, so was pleasantly surprised. The price of the room was appropriate for the room.

I spent a difficult night attempting to get into bed after having to get up several times. Discovered stools available for second night. Much more restful. Nice breakfast available. Our group also had dinner in one of the conference rooms. It was fine.

We went to NE Ohio to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. We had a group of 12 stay at this hotel. We had 4 rooms. From start to finish, the service was outstanding! Easy to make reservations! Quick check in and check out process! We travel to Mentor, OH several times a year! I think we have found our new place to stay!

I picked this hotel due to my experience with Best Western hotels being well maintained and clean. This hotel did not disappoint in that regard or any other way. It has the feel of a much more expensive hotel.

The room was fairly clean, except for the bathtub. We enjoyed the full breakfast available, including fresh fruit. It was good and filling. All the staff we encountered were friendly and professional. This hotel is in an excellent location--close to the interstate and a major state route, plentiful local shopping in the area and major attractions nearby.

Easy on and off the highway access an important aspect. Handicap parking and luggage trolleys and access from the parking lot a big plus. Quiet surroundings, nice landscaping, and a commitment to power spray a smelly garbage truck spill admirable

Only here for one night to be able to see son's first college football game. Nice looking property, lobby very well decorated. Desk staff very professional and helpful. Room was clean, nice furnishings although not a very modern look. Bed was not the best for me, prefer a little more softness. Free breakfast was known, but quality was very nice surprise. Sit down with buffet style set up. Several options and there was a staff member there to keep things stocked, table clean, etc. Found the room to be a bit on the high side for what I'm used to in FL, but seems to be the trend in the area. Much better value factoring in the breakfast.

Can't say enough about this hotel and staff! Arrived with no reservation as we were traveling back to MN from Boston. Very long day and the place was quiet, accommodating, clean and comfortable. The king suites are huge and free breakfast is amazing! Can't beat the price!

I stayed two nights in the BW in Mentor, OH and was sorely sorry it could nat have been longer. The room was perfect, clean, well-appointed, and the staff was numerous and friendly. The in-house restaurant gets an especial mention from me: good food, attentive personnel, and a pleasant setting. A-1 rating.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Room was clean, bed and pillows were comfy. Breakfast buffet had a great selection of hot food (scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns), baked goods (mini muffins, danishes, bagels, English muffins, toast) and yogurt, juices, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Fitness room had good equipment. And I really enjoyed the 24hr coffee available on the main floor. Really helpful as I stayed at this hotel to take an exam. Only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars because the internet was spotty and slow at times. Streaming and video calling wasn't the greatest. But they had a good range of tv channels to keep myself occupied while I waited for the websites to load. I'd definitely stay here again!

If you ever have an issue this hotel will not address the problem. Simply terrible customer service. Dealing with the public should be a strength. Local staff cannot address and concerns. They need to deal directly with owner. This hotel is owned by an offsite individual who will not even reach out to customers to resolve a problem. The hotel advertised a Bistro with nice bar area which was the major attraction to stay. On the evening of reservation, the plan was to enjoy a few cocktails and dinner in bar area. Regrettably, the air conditioner was broken and the day being 88 degrees and humid, the temperature within the bar area was intolerable. In fact the bartender looked very uncomfortable. As a consequence, since we were hungry , we chose to leave property. The main part of the experience was not possible. Since the room was unused it could have been easily sold to others. However, the staff said that wasn't possible and the advanced payment could not be refunded. After repeated attempts to speak to someone about the matter and discuss my situation, I was told that the only person who could make a decision was owner and that they would email him. I have yet to receive any communication, after 5 days from anyone willing to discuss the matter. You really don't learn much about a business when things go well. Rather you learn about a business by how they manage challenges/issues. This business is terrible in handling customer issues so I wouldn't recommend staying with them. I am a older businessman who knows the importance of taking care of customers. The overall grade is “F”. It's disappointing that I am having to write this negative review.

Quick summary: clean, comfortable, quiet rooms with many amenities one expects of BW properties. A pleasant surprise is a very good restaurant and pub on site so you don't have to go far for a good drink or dinner. Friendly, professional service. This will be our new "go-to" choice when we drive back and forth from the Midwest to the East Cost to visit family. Convenient to I-80/90 and I-30. We drive between the Midwest and East coast at least once a year for an extended stay with family, and need a place to stay in the area around Cleveland to Erie, PA. We decided to try Mentor, OH as not as much of a hike as our previous stays in the Erie area. 'Glad that we found this Best Western property!! We stayed in room 303, which has two very comfortable queen beds. There are all the value-added extras one expects of a well-run BW property: fridge, coffee tea maker, good chest of drawers for your stuff, mirrored closet, in-room safe, easy chair, good-sized work desk and comfy desk chair, iron/board, flat sreen TV with lots of channels works well... I loved that this room has a combination tub and shower. At the end of a long day, a bath sounds so much nicer than being on my feet in a shower. Nice toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. Small touches that are appreciated: TWO luggage racks already set up in the room; a REAL soap dish, where other hotels might just have the soap sliding around on the stone counter. HVAC and complimentary wifi worked well. Spotless housekeeping. Very good breakfast of hot and cold items. This morning it was sausages, scrambled eggs, oven potatoes, cereals, breads and muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit (GOOD looking bananas!!) etc. Lovely outdoor pool and patio area. Dinig outside is possible in nice weather, i.e. NOT the scorching August weather we've had lately. The AC worked well in the public rooms. A really pleasant surprise was the very good on-site restaurant and related pub, Skye, which I will review in more depth in a separate listing. There is real talent in the kitchen for small plates and a variety of mains, all well-pried. We had dinner in the pub (same menu) and enjoyed the very personable and helpful host, Richard. Full bar, beers in bottle and on tap, but a very nice and well-selected wine list, all at good prices. It is so nice to come off the road after a long trip, and have a good dinner and drinks right on site. I'm come here, even if you are not staying here. We'd be regulars if we lived in the area. Nice sitting area in the lobby. Friendly, professional staff throughout. Carl at the front desk was especially helpful. I think this is our new "go-to" place in the future, as we do the road trips to visit the family.

Traveling back to New York from Louisville we started to look for a hotel for the night. The Best Western in Mentor Ohio not only looks different from most Best Western hotels, but also has a more homey feel. This Best Western is also enjoyed by the local folks who occasionally stop by for a meal or drink.

This hotel was just 1.4 miles from the James A Garfield National Historic Site. Upon arrival, we were given an upgrade from a king room to a suite with a pullout sofa, plush chair, and 2nd TV. There is also a restaurant on site. The hotel was very busy, with a large group of teenagers and their counselors, but there was no disruption of service for the individual traveller. A full hot and co!d breakfast buffet was available and even with the large group, all went smoothly., This is a well organized operation.

This was by far one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The decor alone is remarkable! Great staff! Great food, beds and showers. Wish we could have stayed here more nights. Definitely recommend if you want to have an unique experience.

Amazing customer service, we had not checked in at 10:30 I received a call asking if we were still planning on checking in, I replied yes we are with friends it will be after midnight, she replied “staff will be waiting and enjoy” your evening. The gentleman that checked me in at 3 am was pleasant honored a previous staff's offer, on my word. He offered me 2 cold bottles of water and even told me where an empty parking spot was. Phenomenal customer service.

We really enjoyed our stay while in Mentor-on-the-Lake, Ohio. The food at the restaurant was outstanding! The free buffet breakfast was very good. We stopped at hotels on our drive to and from Florida and this was our favorite hotel for the stay and the food.

Always a pleasure to stay at this Mentor hotel. I go out of my way to stay here. Every employee has a "guest-first" attitude . I mean EVERY employee: --front desk --restaurant --bar/casual dining --room attendants

This hotel is very nice and in a great location. Only about 15 minutes to 2 Lake Erie beaches. Also lots of great restaurants in the area. Very comfortable rooms. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay here again when in Mentor.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. I first called the night before our stay to ask if there was any way to get an early check in. I was staying there with my to be wife for our wedding night and wanted to set a few things up in the room. When I called the staff said I'd have to call in the morning to check, did not give any kind of congratulations and honestly sounded annoyed by my request. I called the following morning and was told I could stop by between 1-1:30 for the early check in. I arrived at 1:30 and waited around for 15 min just to be told I would in fact not be able to do an early check in. I can understand that early check ins are not always guaranteed, but if you tell me I can do it and I drive out their early on my wedding day to do so, it's a bit messed up. I came back with my newly wedded wife later that night and we entered into the room that was extraordinarily hot. Almost unbearable. We had the ac turned on for hours and it was still unbearable. I went to the front desk and asked if there was anything that could be done. The gentlemen was nice, but did not provide a good remedy. He gave me a dirty fan from the laundry room to use. I tried wiping it down as best as I could, but it was still extremely dirty and did not even provide relief from the heat. The following morning (Sunday) I asked the staff if anything could be done for us due to all the circumstances. The staff said I'd have to speak to a manager and that he'd have the manager call me back later that day. I never heard anything. I called back the next day (Monday) and still couldn't get a manager, ended up leaving a message. I called back again the following day (Tuesday) and still no manager - left another message. I then called AGAIN the next day (Wednesday) and spoke to a manager named Michael. While explaining what happened he cut me off and put me on hold. He then said he'd have to check with the owner to see what could be done and he'd call back in a few min. I never received a phone call. I then called back again the following day (Thursday) and spoke to Michael again. He said that the comp'd us $25 for the trouble. This is a slap in the face. The room was over $200 for a one night stay. To have this kind of service and not even be able to sleep because of the heat (especially on your wedding night) is absolute robbery for $200. I cannot believe the nightmare this stay has been and the fact I had to call 5 days in a row to even get anywhere, which turned into a slap in the face of a $25 comp. Do not waste your time or money at this hotel.

Way past time to refresh this property. Many routine maintenance tasks go wanting. And it is difficult to find with GPS because it is behind other properties. You have so many other choices so there is no need to stay here.

Spent one night at this Best Western. It was quiet with a clean room, comfortable bed, and good shower pressure. Breakfast is in the lower level and had a wide variety of hot and cold options along with real plates and silverware. Easy check-in and check-out from pleasant staff.

We liked everything about this place. As some other reviews mentioned, the rooms were a little bit dated, but I would 100% stay here again. The location is great with easy in and out. Breakfast was good but nothing special. Service at breakfast was good.

This BW was conveniently located in Mentor. The cafe was highly rated. The staff was very helpful. It was quiet. The breakfast was good, but was the same food each morning. Good parking. Can't say more.

Just exceptional staff, service and accommodations. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Room was very clean, even white socks stayed clean! Comfortable beds. The staff was happy and welcoming that was a nice change in todays world. And dogs welcome with a fee.

This place is so elegant looking and well kept. Staff is very friendly and greats you warmly. The furnishings are antique-solid, classy furnishings. So very inviting. We were just passing through and lucky to have chosen this place.

This is a somewhat older building with a little character. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered a generous selection and was included in the room price, making the stay a good value. The A/C/heater is an old wall unit, a bit loud with a rather insensitive thermostat so room temperature was inconsistent. Beds were comfortable, but furniture starting to show some wear. The TV remote control didn't seem to be programmed to the TV properly so that the guide function didn't work. Still overall a comfortable, good sized room.

After reading good reviews about this hotel we booked 2 nights as a get away. We were not disappointed. Very clean hotel, nice towels, good bed, even the couch & chair in the suite area was very comfortable. We will definitely be back. Location was close enough to Mentor Headlands Beach and to food & shopping but far enough from all that traffic it causes.

I have stayed here several times - a pleasant restaurant & lounge on the premises. Older hotel, but very nice. The breakfast has a lot of variety. While the rooms are older, the beds were very comfortable.

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western in Mentor, OH between Feb 10 & Feb 13, 2022. We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was clean, the hotel staff was helpful and friendly, and we enjoyed a hot breakfast buffet. The room price was very competitive. We will definitely stay at this Best Western again in the future.

I stayed at this Best Western during a snowstorm. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. When I checked out and tried to drive away, my car got stuck in the snow and employee Logan went way above and beyond in helping me get out of the snow. Just a great guy!

What a beautiful lobby ~ and very nicely decorated for the Christmas holidays ~ a gem with historic pieces for viewing! We were welcomed by a friendly staff, and thanked for being a BW member. Our room was comfortable; nicely appointed with "historic" touches. The biggest surprise was at breakfast - REAL plates, cups, utensils and glass glasses ... no paper plates, plasticware or plastic /styrofoam drinking glasses/cups. There was a nice variety of breakfast items; hot items were hot. The "hostess" was pleasant. When we checked out, we mentioned to the staff at the desk that the faucet in the bathroom was hard to turn on and off - a new cartridge was needed. She thanked us and appreciated us letting her know. All in all, we would stay here again.

My wife and I have stayed here several times. This last time was poor. Reasonable price. If they give us the discount they promised we would stay here again, as our past two trips were good. The room's heating/cooling system was extremely loud and kept us up all night.

Don't miss this lovely accommodation. Beautiful rooms, a friendly staff, delicious food, and easy access from I-90. Pet friendly, too! Doug and Michael run a congenial, professional place. Our first choice when traveling to the Midwest.

This is a fantastic hotel. Rooms are large and very cleaned. Staff very friendly and helpful. The is a restaurant on site, also a small bar. Breakfast available the only thing they could of had was a waffle maker.

Best place to stay in the surrounding area. Great value, excellent service and very friendly staff. Rooms are a nice size and very clean, the bed comfortable. It is vey popular for those visiting the area and hard to get a room if you do not plane ahead. I stay there every time I visit family.

This is my go to stop between NY and KY. It's a great hotel, easy to get to. Convenient to things, comfortable room, nice lobby, and a good breakfast. The town seems cute as well. This hotel also accepts pets and the pet rooms are also nice.

We had a very last minute change in travel plans and I was happy to find this location, price, value.. and for same day check in. online reservation was easy, staff was pleasant at check in/out. Internet was reliable and strong and it was nice to have breakfast options!

We were there for a funeral and stayed a total of 4 days. Many members of our family and friends rented rooms as well. The place was clean and comfortable. The place is not a generic BW hotel because it has a historical vibe that we appreciated. The location is close to restaurants and shopping. We rented a suite and liked having the extra area to visit with our out of town family. The breakfast was less than ideal and the room could use a deep clean but we weren't there for the food. The restaurant was good and the food, beer and wine that we tasted was good. The menu is limited due to COVID which is too bad. But the catering manager, Anne, was fantastic and helped us have a great family meal in the Garfield room. We really thought she did a great job.

From the time we entered the hotel, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable, and that all of our needs were met. The lobby was beautifully decorated, and very inviting. The room was very clean, and comfortable, the free breakfast was terrific!

All the amenties of a large hotel and the comfy-feel of a bed and breakfast. However this is not a large hotel (that's a plus+), nor does it lack the privacy that we sometimes endure at a B&B. Amentities include a restaurant and separate/bar lounge. The lounge serves the complete restaurant menu, and a very nice menu that is. It appears that it is a go-to place for the locals--a real compliment for a hotel-restaurant. Other amentities include an outdoor swimming pool, and a friendly and helpful staff. The staff--from the GM, to the front desk, to the room attendants, and breakfast staff, all seem to love their jobs.

This hotel was very clean and the quietest!!! hotel I have ever stay in and I have stayed in many , the people were very polite and professional and I am definitely going to make this my hotel when I visit Cleveland . I visit Cleveland often during the warmer months I'm from Cincinnati. You can't go wrong staying at the Best Western believe me .

We were so tired after a long day of helping my son move. We arrived around 8:30 and although their restaurant closed at 9:00, the staff assured us it was not too late to have dinner. We chose to sit in the Pub and made fast friends with Richard who made sure we were taken care of. We had a pleasant conversation with him and found out he is from our home town of Canton! Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable and we had a delicious, full breakfast the next morning! This hotel is top notch in every aspect !!

Here is a hotel property that accurately reflects quality standards set by Best Western - - staff was friendly and helpful - inviting lobby seasonally decorated and fragrant - room was clean and updated - quiet surroundings but close to shops and restaurants - restaurant is on premises but was closed during my visit - beware - microwave ovens are only in king rooms, not in doubles; however, staff was gracious and willing to allow use of microwave in common breakfast area during off hours

We liked everything about it. One of the best places we've stayed at. Clean, quiet, comfortable. We only stayed one night before continuing on to our final destination but it was a great overnight stay.

Convenient location if you are visiting Pres Garfield Historic Site in Mentor or Moreland Hills, or the LDS sites in Kirtland. The best of what you've come to expect from Best Western - this location even better as the 1860 manor house has been preserved (lobby), with additions to make it a motel. Very nice restaurant in the lobby for lunch/dinner.

Great place, fabulous staff and well appointed large rooms with a nice restaurant and lounge on site. A nicer than normal breakfast rather than the usual. But beware of the exorbitant pet fee - $40 a night? Ridiculous.

We have been staying at this property for over ten years when in the area, and have NEVER been unhappy with the hotel. The service, food, cleanliness and staff have always been wonderful-EVEN during COVID! They have spoiled us for when we need to stay in other hotels out of this area! We enjoyed our stay here, the hotel is located in a pretty good area to go get things to eat or little shops. Our room was clean and very spacious. The breakfast had plenty of options and during our four days, hot food options changed almost every day. We never did find the pool but a sudden change in weather and rain didn't make a difference to us.

This was by far the nicest Best Western Plus I've ever stayed in. It was SO COZY! The beds were comfortable and everything was clean as can be. Staff was kind and courteous and this hotel even a top notch restaurant in it! I hope to stay there again, when I'm drive through next year.

STAY HERE,,,,,ask for Spencer, the manager!! He was so terrific....the entire staff who care for your room, the woman who manages the breakfast during the week...I ate at the restaurant twice during the week, once with a party of 4 and once with a party of 5...you would go to this restaurant even if you weren't staying here....just a lovely, family like experience. I can't wait to go back!

Comfortable and quiet room, caring, friendly and professional staff, convenient location, always accommodating and delicious breakfast. We have stayed here many times over the past 10 years and are never disappointed.

Would use again if in the area. While a little "old time" in decor and furniture, it was clean and fine. There is still pride that comes through from the owners and worth the money. Somewhat "homey" with a nice personal touch.

Every time we come to Mentor we stay here. That should speak for its self.. Could be considered high dollar but it offers every thing we need when we come to town to visit family.. Very popular so advance reservations are a must..

Really enjoyed this hotel with the pool and cafe. Great service and great location. Food was really good and the staff were very friendly. Really liked that they accepted pets. Beds slept great and the rooms were clean. The lobby has a very hometown feel.

A lovely, friendly, modern hotel a short drive from I-90. I stayed for three nights visiting friends in the area. Clean, comfortable room, friendly little bar, good restaurant, helpful staff, easy base for exploring the area, competitively priced. Breakfast just ok but clean and free. I'd happily stay again.

The staff was very friendly,checking was efficient in and the room was spotless. The breakfast was hot and good.We like everything about the stay. This was our first stay in a hotel in 17 months due to the pandemic so it was nice to have such a goo experience.

I stayed for a few days while visiting family in town. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. Everything in my room worked properly, including the Wi-Fi & In-Room Safe. Pleasant breakfast room with adequate selection of food & drinks. Historical decor was nice. In my 2nd floor room, the furnishings are starting to appear a bit dated, but have been well maintained. Parking lot fills up at night, don't be the last arrival of the night. One odd thing, none of the vending machines were working while I was there, so no soft drinks or snacks were available unless you went to the front desk or the restaurant. There are convenience stores nearby. I will definitely stay here again if back in town.

This hotel exceeded our expectations! From the cordial front staff to the lounge/ dining room staff to the breakfast staff, everyone/ thing was top notch. Mentor is 5 hours from our home and we stopped there to and from the northeast. Highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed for one night (end of June/beginning of July 2021). The room was clean. Staff were very friendly. Hot and cold items were provided for breakfast. I am gluten free and very sensitive to cross contamination. I asked the staff in the breakfast room if the omelets and sausage were gluten free and she told me she didn't know since she just put them out, she didn't make them. I thanked her and had my back up food since I was driving. It was a good spread of options for those without dietary needs. My friend who lives in Mentor who stayed here previously highly recommends the food.

Exceptional rooms. Nice amenities, great bed. Staff was very responsive to needs, iron was broken and replacement was immediate. Fantastic food in the restaurant and nice bar area. Not sure what else needs to be added but they require 200 words.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks. Loved the coziness, atmosphere, decor and staff. We had a suite which very much met our needs. Every night that we came in it felt like home. Will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Lawnfield one night as we had a funeral to attend. I had made my reservation directly to the hotel and when we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly staff. The room was absolutely wonderful. A king size bed, a sitting area, two TVs , microwave, refrigerator, and plenty of space. The room was clean and everything was in working order. “The hotel has a restaurant, bistro pub, and swimming pool.” We did not have time to use these amenities because we spent our extra time with relatives In the morning a full complementary breakfast is served. Love this hotel so much

I was shocked at how beautiful the hotel was. Everything about the place had charm and wonderfully nice people working there. I do not stay at hotels often, but I will definitely stay at another Best Western in the future, this was a first time experience at one.

This hotel is very nice. Clean, comfortable, and affordable. The free breakfast is a great added value, and the food choices were excellent. My wife and I are on a Keto diet and there were enough food options to meet our diet needs at breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay here.

This place has a lot of charm to it. Walking in, you can see the dining area which looks really nice. The check in staff was super helpful and friendly. My room was the king suite. Every wall had wallpaper peeling off it. Also, a number of moulding pieces were coming loose too. The room itself was clean. The air conditioner remote didn't work so I had to climb on top of the side table in order to work it. A number of lamps didn't work either, resulting in a fairly dark room. When I mentioned it to the front desk upon check out their reply was “electricity's weird” whatever that's supposed to mean. We ate at the restaurant. The food was really good. The service was super slow though. Took forever to get drinks from the bar. The drink order was wrong, but we managed. Our server mentioned that “people were coming out of the woodwork” so we took that to mean that it was unusually busy so we gave the slow service a pass this time. For breakfast they gave us terrible coffee and a grab and go bag. The bags were absolutely terrible. Whoever put these things together should be ashamed. An orange, a chocolate chip granola bar, a tiny sugary mushy muffin, a fruit cup, and an apple juice. Since I can't eat added sugar I could eat the small fruit cup and the orange. Why couldn't they have stuff like oatmeal that you add hot water too so you could make it in your room, maybe they could have had some chilled yogurt you could have picked out? I expected a little better for the price of the room.

Stopped for an overnight while traveling north from Florida. King suite was a clean, large room at a reasonable price. Friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was open. There was an attendant at the entrance insisting everyone wear gloves while at the food and beverage stations.

We were traveling to visit family members during the COVID-19 pandemic and were pleased with the hotel stay here at the Best Western Lawnfield. There was no indoor pool and we knew that going in. Also, there was no regular breakfast, which we also knew. They did have a breakfast to go bag, which was more than adequate. The hotel staff was kind and friendly and provided any assistance we requested. We were very surprised at the low rate given the area and quality of the hotel.

Zero thought went into the breakfast grab and go bag. Looked like someone pulled random items from a convenience store or vending machine. Portions were also very small. The Lawnfield has always been dated with this antique feel to the place. But big bulky furniture needs to be replaced with more practical pieces -- like a nice space to eat now that we are forced to do that in our room.

I was able to get a room here at the last minute. The service in the lounge and restaurant were excellent. The room was very clean and comfortable. The front desk was helpful and provided excellent service as well.

When I called to reserve room I asked three questions 1. If in my name could my boyfriend check in told yes explained three times he'd be there after work band we'd be there after event no problem and we had nothing but issues because it was in my name 2. Boyfriend had bank card reservation was held with and was there when they were told he'd be there 3. They offer wifi and it didn't work during while visit I understand in am nature played part then but not the night we arrived and like I said POOR customer service from manager NEVER reached out to try and solve the issues or anything

This hotel was a great experience. Was in town to visit father out of hospital and everyone was friendly, service was great and rooms were clean. They gave an option for a bagged breakfast which I was happy to see. I highly recommend this hotel above all others in Mentor Ohio, as I had some local friends recommend it to me. Very near shopping, restaurants, groceery stores, gas stations, Lake Erie.

Front desk was not very friendly. Was not recognized as a reward member. Don't understand how they can serve dinner but not offer more than a bag for breakfast. I understand it's probably orders from corporate. Motel is located on busy intersection with traffic noise all night long. Small rooms with really small bathroom. Nice towels. Have stayed here many times over the years because of location to our son and his family. It is cleaner than it used to be but really needs an update. Check-in took forever even though all information had been provided online. I would think for reward members it could be speeded up.

My recent stay at BW Lawnfield was very pleasant. I upgraded to a King Suite and was very glad I did. The room is large and on the side of the building that is very quiet. The bed was super comfy and I slept well in it. Their normal breakfast service was suspended due to COVID but they had a very nice breakfast grab bag that was more than I eat on normal mornings. And one morning, while I was cleaning the snow off my car, I saw a magnificent Bald Eagle fly overhead. I know BW didn't arrange for that to happen but it was still exciting! :)

As soon as you walk in, the entire foyer and lobby area is decked out in Christmas decorations. It felt magical- truly. I really felt like I was in a Hallmark movie! I ate dinner at the Skye Bistro the night I arrived and it was absolutely incredible. The food is seriously worth traveling for. My server, Richard, was so kind and welcoming. He made my loner work trip feel special. Although I was here on business, I would 100% come back to stay at this cute little hotel- boutique-like, b&b feel. They do a great job at sanitizing the hotel rooms and even keep the remotes in little sanitized cloth bags in every room!

We were in the area for the loss of a family member. The staff at this site was friendly, kind, and as helpful as you can be with this pandemic. The ONLY issue we had was in no way associated with the people who work there. It was a piece of machinery that was flawed and therefore noisy. I'm certain that if we had informed the crew they would have found a solution.

Stayed here In August of 2020 and the guests in room 107 couldn't keep the noise down because they were having sex I called management and they refused to do anything about it. Otherwise the hotel was clean and is nice.

Even though the Covid prevented the normal hot breakfast, a sack breakfast was still provided. The staff knows me by name, and always goes out of their way to make me comfortable. It is THE place to stay in NE Ohio. They even give a 10% discount to guests in their excellent restaurant.

We stayed here on our way to Notre Dame in Indiana from Albany NY area. This was our first time staying in a hotel since the COVID Pandemic began. The hotel is older but very clean. The room and bathroom was spotless. We felt very comfortable staying here during COVID. Internet worked great. Close to many great nearby restaurants and there is one in the lobby too a little on the pricey side. Staff very friendly and there is a little grab and go breakfast in the morning which was enough to get our day started before we hit the road. We will definitely stay here again when passing through.

For the past few years, Lawnfield has been our main place to stay when we come to Mentor to visit Mo, who lives in one of the local Senior living complexes. The staff are always friendly, and the meals (usually dinner at Skye and included hot breakfast), have always been top notch. This was our first time venturing out during the COVID-19 pandemic, but were assured the hotel was up to keeping us healthy. They lived up to the expectations. Although no hot breakfast was available due to the current situation, they had a very nice and filling grab and go option for the guests.

Very clean and secure without feeling clinical. Comfortable and relaxing decor and super friendly staff! They obviously work hard to keep this hotel running well and it shows. Check in/out was a breeze, and the rooms were very quiet. The bistro restaurant has a very nice menu, and the pub looks amazing as well. Clean and secure parking lot. Great place to stop while passing through, or even to stay a few nights and explore the area. Only minor complaint was a temperamental/loose bathroom faucet handle.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during May 2020 pandemic. I was terrified to stay at a hotel but had no choice. From the moment I got there I felt at ease. The place is quaint and quiet. The decor is adorable and very clean. The best part was dealing with staff members. Because few people were at the hotel, I got to have more one on one with a poarticular staff member, Markeyda. She was so pleasant and kind. She made me feel so welcome. Although the buffet was discontinued because of the virus, I was given a to go snack bag each morning filled with snacks, water and juices. Each morning Markeyda made us coffee even though I had a coffee maker in the room. She really put me at ease. I'd stay here again just to see her. She is definitely an asset to the staff. Also, the staff that cleaned the room did a great job. She made sure we always had plenty of supplies and towels. All of these things are so important while traveling and also the reason I rated as I did. Also, there are great restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, the hotel restaurant was closed but maybe next time I'm in town I'll get to try it out.

I have gone to this area multiple times a year and stayed a few other places before finding this property and now stay nowhere else. It is well appointed, nice decor, Clean, great beds, wonderful towels and bathroom products, QUIET, nice location, awesome staff. I plan to be back many more times!

Clean and comfortable hotel! Friendly, knowledgeable staff! The faucet handle in the bathroom was coming loose. It was replaced within an hour. Despite the fact that the place was full, it was still quiet, overnight. The hotel was in a central location for us. Not too far to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and other Cleveland activities, but out of the city itself. It is also not far from a lot the wineries, We were out there for the Ice Wine Festival. We have stayed in this particular hotel before and will stay there again if we are in the area.

Room was loud with older decor. Not terrible for the price but I put it at a 2 star hotel. The staff was super friendly, they were the best part of the stay. My room keys didn't work twice and a light was burned out in the room. The breakfast was one of the better ones I've had as part of a free buffett.

They had a great exercise room,it had a cable machine,and other items. Not just a treadmill and bike. The breakfast bar was perfect. Had a big variety of items.Has WiFi.Very friendly staff.Clean room.

We initially chose this facility because we planned to travel with our dog. Plans for our dog to travel with us changed but not our decision to stay here. Glad we did. Everyone was accommodating, making our stay very special and memorable. We had the privacy we wanted, the restaurant that we required (great menu selections!), and the pub that we needed. Can't provide enough compliments for the staff. All are well-trained for their positions and caring. Congratulations to the management and owners!

Never stayed with best western in the past. This property is a gem. Very well maintained with a boutique feel. Staff was incredible. They even mailed me a hand written Thank You Post Card. When does that happen in this day and age.

We always bring our 2 dogs with us for our stay and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. We love the pool in the summer. The lounge is so cool with great cocktails. Breakfast has so many options and is delicious, a definite plus. I would highly recommend whether traveling with pets or not.

Our stay was perfect. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast area was clean and food choices were great. Conveniently located to everything we needed, stores , restaurants, and gas.

We love this hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is amazing. The breakfast is so-so and we usually just go for coffee and hope for something to tide us over. This last time the selections were not so great and we just had coffee, juice and a yogurt. That being said we would still definitely stay here every time we go to Mentor..

I was passing through for work we decided to stay at this location because it was close to our fave restaurant and close to the highway. Just breath taking !! If you like history!! This is the hotel for you !!

I was please with the staff the way they addressed all my questions and concerns. The next I am in the area I am planning to stay here. The only issue I had is since was booking for a period of the time I was looking for a flat rate not a flexible room rate..I had issues with not same price for each day,.

Nice hotel and in a perfect location for our travel needs. It is a smaller hotel and very quiet and clean. The staff is always very helpful and very nice. This is our go to hotel when we travel to Mentor which is 4 or 5 times a year.

All good very friendly front desk staff, housekeeping & breakfast area. We continue to stay christmas week very home feel. Always enjoy christmas card & stocking from staff. Parking is easy convenient.

I always have a great experience at this hotel. Feels like a B&B, but with all of the amenities of a large hotel. By the way, this is not a mega-large hotel, but it does have a swimming pool, bar, very nice restaurant,and the usual free breakfast. The restaurant draws quite a large crowd of local patrons. Testimony to the excellence of this restaurant. During my stay, the lobby was beautifully decorated for the Holiday Season. Very classy, and 'B&B like".

This Best Western excels in staff & service in EVERY ASPECT! Comfort of room amenities were superior. Continental breakfast was superior in quality and selection. Housekeeping staff were friendly, professional, and very oriented to all details.

Best Western Lawnfield is an excellent place to stay! It is always super clean, staff is friendly and efficient, it feels like home rather than a cold hotel when traveling. It was even decorated for Christmas! Food is delicious, Lounge area is warm and comfy with great friendly service. It's the ONLY place when stay when in the area.

A lovely rustic hotel with great staff, beautiful lobby and decor. A great quiet nights rest. Front desk very professional, helpful, knowledgeable and caring. We were acknowledged as BW Diamond members and upgrade to a Suite unit. Such a nice hotel for a small town. Definitely would stay again and highly recommend this Hotel. We dined at an Italian Pizzeria - Tony Sacco's at the Great Lakes Mall located nearby. Don't let the fact that it's located in the mall deceive you. The coal oven pizza was great!

Stayed here one night and had no complaints. The rooms are suites, so they're big and comfortable. you get a suite for the cost of a regular room. Good deal. Not too far off the highway. Staff was very friendly and check in was easy. They have one of the bigger breakfast bars that I've seen and it's all included.

Super nice hotel, very quaint in decor. Outside and inside hotel was very clean. Front desk clerks were courteous and process for check in and out were very fast. Room was very nice and clean. This was the best continental breakfast I have ever experienced on any of my travels.

The Best Western / Lawnfield is an excellent choice of hotel for either business or pleasure, well situated and close to Interstate routes. Staff at the hotel are attentive, efficient and friendly. Amenities are top notch, restaurant / lounge are comfortable , restaurant serves excellent quaility food.

Clean room, friendly staff, fabulous restaurant and nice bar on site. Close to President Garfield Home and all Cleveland area has to offer. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Highly recommend.

This hotel was a great find..our room was really 2 rooms with 2 TV's, couch, chair so if one person wanted to sleep the other could watch TV without bothering them. And the breakfast was very good..about any thing you could ask for was on the buffet, also the hotel was very clean. Had no problems and would love to stay here again

This is our first stay at a Best Western in about 35 years. We usually stay at a different chain, but their prices were outrageous so we thought we'd give this hotel a try. So glad we did! Great hotel, lovely lobby and surroundings. The room was great with a separate sitting area and two TVs. Beds and pillows very comfortable. The restaurant was very busy though we didn't eat there. The complimentary breakfast was fine - the attendants were friendly and quick to help.

We stay approximately four/five times a year at this Best Western because of its proximity to Willoughby, Ohio, but primarily we stay because of the service and wonderful dinners we have at the Skye Lounge which is attached to it. The hotel also provides a good complimentary breakfast. The service (Richard, the bartender, is friendly, helpful and provides terrific service) and the good are fantastic. We have tried items off both the restaurant and bar menu and never had anything less than terrific. The restaurant and bar are always busy with many locals. The hotel is comfortable.

We stayed there for my son's wedding and hosted Sunday brunch after the wedding...it was all great! We also socialized in the pub and that was great too! Everything was lovely...we appreciate everthing the staff did to make this a terrific wedding weekend!

We stayed there for a wedding reception nearby at Noah's. It was a beautiful hotel. Our room was great! We stayed in the king size bed/ suite. and breakfast was included. Would definitely stay there again.

This facility is more like a top-notch B&B than a National Hotel chain facility. Staff are Amazing, from housekeepers, to front desk, to managers. Everyone made us feel like we were the most important guests there. Rooms were impeccable! Beds comfortable, not a spot of dust or dirt any where. The food in the Skye Bistro is AMAZING!! From the veal meatloaf to the Faroe Island salmon. On a downside, did not see a children's menu, but then we weren't traveling with children so I may have just missed it. There is a fully stocked bar with a good selection of beers, whiskys and other libations. The soft drinks are Pepsi products. One of the really cool features of the site is the front building is a converted Victorian Era mansion. They have done wonderfully retaining many of its original features. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel for anyone visiting Mentor.

Can't say enough about this place. By far the best hotel in Mentor Ohio. The employees go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The front desk staff offer a smile and a warm welcome. The rooms are cozy and very comfortable. Lots of room to relax and unwind, you never feel squeezed in. The breakfast is unbelievable. Its a hot breakfast that has everything you can possible want. I have stayed here many times and I love every chance I get to come back. This place is the BEST!

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times. The staff is always extremely helpful. The restaurant is above average (although we went somewhere else this visit.) I tried both the pool and fitness areas this trip. Both were nice.

The charm of a bed and breakfast, with the privacy and amenities of a full service hotel. It just feels cozy. NOT cramped--cozy. Everything --restaurant, lounge, pool, parking lot-- feels close by. No long walks, no getting lost. Ha. Maybe that's just me... The staff is great. They go out of their way to accommodate guests. The restaurant has an upscale menu but is reasonably priced., The lounge serves the full restaurant menu in addition to lighter fare bar-food . John N. Cincinnati

Nice hotel. It's the best Best Western we've ever visited. The staff was the best we encountered on our trip across NY and Ohio. We ended up with full sized mattresses instead of queens, so that wasn't great. However, we slept fine and the A/C worked well.

An excellent hotel. We have stayed here many times and intend to do so in the future when we are in the area. The staff are friendly and attentive. It is super clean and beautifully decorated and the breakfasts are wonderful.

I was lucky enough to get the last room at 11:00 pm last night. It was the Bridal Suite for me and my Labrador, Daisy. The woman behind the desk couldn't have been more gracious;even offering treats to Daisy. Even though it's a Best Western it is more like a nice country inn. There is a complimentary breakfast for hotel guests. Juices, coffee, fruit, breads and bagels. Yogurt, eggs and sausage. My room was well-appointed with Wi-Fi, big TV, microwave, coffee maker, and lovely amenities in the bathroom. I would stay here anytime.

This is a charming hotel....less hotel-ish and more "Inn-like" than other places in Mentor. Will definitely stay here again! Nice decor, friendly staff, this place looked expensive but was affordable and nestled away from the highway.

I have stayed there many times, always a wonderful experiences. Everybody from the front desk, breakfast staff and housekeeping ALWAYS so welcoming and accommodating. Every room I have stayed in has been perfect! I look forward to going back

This hotel is very beautiful. Outside it looks Victorian, worth taking pictures of. It has some gorgeous interior as well. Use the staircase at least once to look at the artwork. At least one area had comfortable chairs as well. Mentor is the home of 20th president James Garfield. This hotel has lots of pictures and information on the walls from the time period describing him if you want an added museum experience. They also have a small outdoor pool which is very nice and not too cold. The room itself was very nice and well kept. Apparently they have some single bedrooms that have 4 poster beds in them. We didn't have that since we needed 2 beds in our room. We did have one small issue: our toilet clogged. They gave us a plunger and we were able to unclog it.

The staff was friendly and very helpful- even signing me up for the BW rewards program for future rewards. The hotel had an elegant appearance. Our room was clean and quite comfortable. We ate a delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant, and a great free hot breakfast which was served quite elegantly for a free hotel meal. I will continue to look for BW Inn and Suites while traveling based on this stay!

I had a higher expectations in this hotel but was disappointed. They supplied 3 tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion on the first day and no more. Not even enough for one person ‘s use. Coffee pot & cup not emptied or washed. The restaurant salad were mediocre! My salad was sprinkle with desiccated coconut, dressing so sweet, also had candied walnuts! Not good!

Our room was very nice. It had a king size bed, studio area, refrigerator, good size bathroom and two televisions! Great menu in the restaurant! Our meal was delicious and we got a 10% discount because we were guests at the hotel.

There is no way this place is that close to Lake Erie..but my niece stayed there and said it was very nice. She also said she felt safe there. I did notice they have breakfast which is always a plus ! Not far from the Great Lakes Mall too.

Very agreeable staff, comfortable, well kept, and dog-friendly. We'd stay again. Had a King Suite on the first floor so I could keep an eye on my vehicle.. not that I really needed to. The area is very safe.

Very cute hotel. Staff was wonderful, especially the gentleman at the front desk in the evenings. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety- eggs, bacon, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal. Hotel is clean decorated very nice. The pool was fun but a bit small. Thank you for making part of our vacation easy.

We saw advertising in hotel coupons book for this hotel at $89.us per night. It was friday 31 may 2019, it was a bit out of our way but the price was worth the detour. We got there arount 4:30 PM and there was only 2 cars in the parking lot. We presented the clerk with the coupon and he said "Oh a coupon, let me see if I can honor this, he immediately glanced at the computer and immediately said not I have no room left", it was quite easy to see that he had not intention of honoring the coupon. I ask what was the rate for the night he said $147.00 us $61.00 more We left disapointed because it was out of our wasy and because we were sucked in. The hotel seemed to be very nice but the advertising was false. See picture of advertising. Word for the Hotel, if you don't wish to honor your coupon, don't advertise. We stayed here for just one night as we were driving through. Very nice. Staff was so friendly. Ordered beer from the bar to take back to our room. Our room was very nice. We had a 1 king bed suite. Not a bedroom suite. We got in late so we had pizza delivered and it was delicious. Recommended by the front desk.

We have stayed here several times before and always have had a great experience. The hotel is very comfortable. Even the stairways are decorated and some have lounge chairs on the landings. Very upscale. The lounge is cozy and service is great. Food is also available there and we often have our meal there. Breakfast area is clean and food is very good.

Cute hotel in a great location. The bar is a great place to unwind. The service is friendly and rooms comfy. Rooms are a good size and typically quiet, good insulation. As a female that travels, this hotel is safe and secure.

No microwave in rooms, but does have refrigerator. Lovely lobby and bar and looked like the pool would have been nice if it was open. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Great breakfast that was well stocked and nice room for relaxing. We will return!

Enjoyed a one night stay at this Best Western and was pleasantly surprised. The front desk personnel were friendly and courteous and anxious to ensure our stay would be comfortable. Our room was spacious and clean with comfortable bedding. Noise was minimal to non existent. The hotel pub had a cheerful bartender, Richard, who also served us dinner. Thanks Richard for an amazing experience dining! Complimentary breakfast is served on the lower level of the hotel was was well stocked. Enjoyed the scrambled eggs with cheese and the sausage links. Coffee was very good too. Overall, an impressive hotel stay and would stay again!

This hotel was extremely unaccommodating. The lounge closes very early so don't expect to be able to get a drink. If you're there and staff wants to leave they'll make you feel very uncomfortable. The front desk staff is the same, they won't answer any questions and they won't do anything to be accommodating. Stayed in room 103 and the minifridge made a horrible noise about every 10 minutes, kept me awake all night. Restaurant server poured water in my cocktail when I wasn't looking and I was then made to feel like it was my fault. Beyond that our service was incredibly slow.

Forget the chain name, this is a family run quaint Inn with one of the best bars and restaurants in Mentor. Midway between 2 freeways with neighborhood ambience. I've visited Mentor many times and stayed at all the other hotels. This is unique and the best.

My husband and I and our 6 teenage grandchildren had a great night at this hotel. Everyone was helpful and made our stay a good one. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Mentor is the birthplace of President James Garfield and the hotel focuses on that history. It's nice to have some personal decoration rather than the usual clinical look.

Wonderful establishment. Staff was exceptional and the place is not like your normal hotel stay. Would recommend staying here anytime you are in the Mentor area. It reminds you more of staying at a Bed and Breakfast.

Looking for a bed for the night we used our tour books to get off the road while driving and came upon a place not too far ahead, called and booked. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the ambiance; a country inn type of place with a restaurant, wide front porch and lovely outdoor look. The rest of the stay just got better with front desk service par excellence, a lovely room that fit the country inn decor, cozy but updated, The great surprise was breakfast - fresh linens,real dishes and utensils, hot and cold buffet, a server to take away dishes as you finished a course, fruit cup, choice of china cups or take with you for the road. This place has thought of everything. Our check out was fast, easy and friendly. We are hoping to be back to this area of the country just to stay with these nice people. This was easily one of the best small hotel stays we've ever experienced.

Friendly staff, immaculate rooms, great breakfast, convenient to freeway!! I traveled from Florida for my dad's funeral and from the start Lois st the front desk could not have been more accommodating and welcoming! Great value and the continental breakfast was tasty and had a great variety of food!

Worst hotel room for me in a log time. If you plan on sleeping at all, don't stay here! There are numerous sources of noise that exceeds acceptable levels. Yes, the place is pretty, yes the theme is pleasant. But the stairwells, lobby/dining area, dishwasher, thin walls and wooden stairs all add up to a lot of noise all night long.

Went for leisure I ate in the dinning room the food was great the hotel was packed due to power outages and yet the service was still spot on. The breakfast was down in the lower level but I made waffles and was asked by staff if they could help me to my seat.

The bw in Mentor is wonderful. The service is always on-par at the front desk and if you have any issues, the staff resolves them quickly. Doug and Lois are my favorites and don't forget to check out the Skye Bar.

This hotel had everything we wanted. From the moment we stepped in and found the extremely gracious staff at the counter and lovely décor we knew we had come to the right place. This full service hotel had a reasonably priced restaurant (not open on Sundays), a bistro/bar in the historic house area as well as an outdoor pool and dining patio and wireless internet throughout. We were only there for one night (we were travelling back to Canada from Florida) but wish we could have stayed for the whole weekend. Everything was spotless and tastefully decorated - reminiscent of stately homes in the early part of the 20th century. The hot breakfast that was included was buffet-style with fresh scrambled eggs and perfectly cooked bacon. From cereal & breads to fruit & yoghurt it was perfect. Best coffee we have had in the hotels we stayed in on this trip. My husband and I will be back and both highly recommend it for couples, families or singles.

The hotel and location was very good. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was fresh and well cooked. In particular, I thank the bar tender for giving me change for the vending machines as well as the breakfast attendant. I particularly appreciate the windows that open for fresh air.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Hot coffee/water was available all day and night. The breakfast buffet was not the run of the mill sweet rolls and waffles, although they were available too. Real plates and silverware. The attendants were there to make sure you were satisfied.

This hotel from the time we pulled in just put us in ahhh. It was beautiful and clean. The staff there was amazing. We where here for a family funeral and had some family who where traveling stop by to change clothes on there way to the funeral home and they stated many time how beautiful this hotel was. Thank you all for your wonderful service.When we come back to this area this will be our go to for a hotel.

Every visit here is perfect. I go out of my way to stay here, even if it means I have to drive a little extra to my destination. Very reasonably priced and comfortable rooms. Even had 2 TV sets in our room. Perfect for couples or families!

Every corner of the Mentor Best Western was tastefully decorated with Holiday cheer. The rooms were spotless and well stocked. The staff, despite working on Christmas Day, were cheerfull and beyond accommodating. The hostess in the dining room made banana walnut waffles for all of us. AMAZING!

Welcoming staff, freshly decorated main lobby with the Christmas theme, coffee available in the lobby area, and a very clean room with no issues at all. Bonus: the staff was amazingly friendly, helpful, and asked questions about our stay in Mentor, etc. It was refreshing to stay at a hotel where people smiled, seemed to like their jobs, and were helpful. I was thinking that this would be a place to stay if one had to stay at a place long-term for some reason. Everyone seemed to care.

We stay at the Mentor Best Western every year when we visit family nearby for many years. The staff is always so welcoming and helpful. It's like visiting friends. The hotel is decorated beautiful for the Christmas holidays. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Wifi in room works great. Free daily breakfast buffet is always very good with a wide assortment.

There isn't a downside to the Lawnfield Inn & Suites. The rooms are clean and comfortable, every staff member we met was friendly and welcoming, free wifi was reliable and the free breakfast is generous. The restaurant is also very good - locals eat there too! And you shouldsee how beautifully decorated it is for the holidays.

The lobby was festooned with Christmas decorations that made one feel warm and welcoming; front desk check-in quick with friendly front desk staff; ditto for check-out; rooms very large with numerous amenities: iron/irong board/refrigerator, microwave, safe, and very clean. Complimentary breakfast special with unusual choices such as breakfast burritos. Hotel very qiuet.

This hotel was excellent, they took very good care of us. We checked in late and they asked if we had eaten yet, we said no and they told us to check in later and go to the pub as the kitchen was closing in 10 min. We had a GREAT meal ording off of the pub menu, the food and service was EXCELLENT. We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!! Great staff, Great stay - oh and they use real glass for mugs and cups in the rooms instead of plastic!!! Very refreshing !!!

Our experience with this hotel and staff was 5 star from beginning to end. Nancy was super helpful in securing a block of rooms for our group. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived. The breakfast bar was amazing and the host there was friendly and kept everything clean and full. Michael at front desk helped with a dinner recommendation. Every time we left or entered we were greeted. Just can't say enough about the friendliness of this staff. Every.Single.Person we encountered. Also, the hotel is charming, clean, and close to all sorts of things.

The rooms are thoughtfully laid out with high ceilings, nice furnishings, nicely defined areas. Everything was clean even those things that are often missed like lamp shades, baseboards and tops of fire alarms.

Very nice staff. Helpful in every way. We had a small group from a wedding spend the night. We asked about the bar closing hours and mentioned we might be coming in for a night cap. They keep the bar open for our group. I thought that was awesome! Bed very comfortable. Plenty of pillows. A little pricy for the area but worth it for the occasion. I would stay again.

Several family members & friends stayed here for a wedding weekend. The staff was welcoming & helpful, our king room was wonderful for entertaining as it has a fairly large sitting area & a long countertop for food/drink placement. There was also a frig & microwave. There are two TVs which was nice for those interested in the football games that were on. The bathroom is a decent size with great shower pressure. The free breakfast was nice & the dining room was very pleasant & spacious. We didn't have an opportunity to use the restaurant but the bar was the perfect gathering place after the wedding reception. Free parking was plentiful at the hotel. It's also conveniently located to several local attractions. The Great Lakes Mall, several restaurants, & if you're a history buff, the James A Garfield Library are very close.

Lawnfield Inn is a delightful cross between a B&B suite and a upper end hotel. As we opened the door to our room, we stepped into a cozy sitting area with a sofa, comfy chair, TV, and desk. Next was a galley with a long counter, microwave, and fridge opposite the bathroom. Then we walked into the bedroom with a king bed and TV within large entertainment center/dresser. While the bathroom was a bit tiny, the galley counter and exterior mirror on the door made it easy for us to share the bathroom facilities. The bed was very comfortable. We didn't get the knack of regulating the heat, so you may want to ask the helpful desk staff. There was also a comfortable sitting area on the second floor (where we were) at the end of the hall that overlooked a sitting area below. Nice for those who like to read or sit outside their rooms. We liked having a dinner choice between the pub and restaurant on site. The waitstaff were friendly and interactive and the food was delicious! The complimentary breakfast was offered in a comfortable area with glass-topped tables, china dishes and cups, silverware, and a nice selection of hot and cold breakfast choices and a variety of fruits. Dishes were bussed by efficient staff. We will definitely return on our next trip through the area!

I'm giving this place "Excellent" for its extremely friendly staff, pet-friendly accommodation, clean facility, and way above average restaurant. If you are driving through NE Ohio and traveling with a pet, you can't do much better than staying at the Lawnfield Inn and Suites. Pet-occupancy rooms are on the ground floor, which makes carrying Fido's crate and other things from the car easier. The patio out front is pet friendly, so you can sit and have a drink or bite to eat without leaving your dog in the room. In addition, the hotel is less than a mile away from the Eleanor Garfield Park, which is a great destination for an evening or morning walk. The food in the restaurant is actually pretty good, with a nice menu, great cocktails, and draft beer, so if you're tired, you have an option that does't involve driving or fast food. Rooms are standard Best Western but clean, with cable TV, double beds, the usual bathroom, and so forth. The breakfast is also pretty standard hotel fare: waffle machine, coffee, juice, cereal, sausage and eggs. I'd definitely stay again, especially when traveling with furry friends.

If this hotel were $50 cheaper it would have been a nice stay - for $160 a night it was poor. The dehydrated scrambled eggs were that. The sausage one day and bacon the next were good. Lots of choices for kids. The room was not cleaned well between days. The staff was nice and did respond well to one concern which I appreciated. The resturant on site was way over priced so we did not even consider it. If it were cheaper we would stay again. It is an older hotel so a lot of this is to be expected. I guess the extremely high price has to do with location. Our room was over the door so we got a lot of cigarette smoke.

Great BW hotel to relax and recharge whether on a road trip or vacation. Restaurant was great too. Bed very comfy. Usually can't go wrong staying at Best Western. Make sure to sign up for their Rewards Program! Rack up points and get free nights if you do...

Ease of parking, check-in and dining awaits you at the end of your day's drive. My husband and I have been staying at this "homey" BW for several years on our semi-annual journey from Dubuque, Iowa to upstate NY. BW Plus Lawnfield Inn & Suites location in Mentor, Ohio gives us something to look forward to after spending nine hours on the road. We travel with a pet and request a room on the bottom floor which greatly facilitates loading and unloading. We really look forward to the high-end dining room which offers F& B way beyond your typical "road food". A wonderful vocalist and guitarist typically is on site to further sooth your mood. You must plug this place into your trip. I know you'll love it as well.

Lawnfield Inn is more a large old house than a hotel. Michael welcomed us warmly. The decorations throughout the hotel are fascinating -- Mentor is the hometome of James Garfield. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. We particularly liked the outdoor swimming pool. No one else was around and I felt like I was in a country garden. Finally, we enjoyed dining at Skype, the onsite restaurant. The bartender knew how to make a Kir Royale and I luxuriated in a shrimp dinner. I should add, this was the last night of a 3 1/2 week vacation in which we drove across the country. We earned enough Best Western points that our night at Lawnfield Inn was free!

This was a very clean, nice hotel. It has a unique feel to the lobby decor which sets it apart from the standard chain. There is a bar and restaurant on site which was very nice. I would have been happier with a wider selection of options in the restaurant, but as the title says, it was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was standard chain hotel breakfast. Pool looked very tiny! Now the reason I gave it four instead of three was the staff. Every single person we dealt with was warm and friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I would stay again just because of that.

This is an old inn full of character. When we arrived there was some restoration work going on to the floors in the reception area and the lifts were out of action. The manager carried our bags to the room! We had a very comfortable, clean, large room. The breakfast was very good with proper crockery and cutlery (made a change from the plastic we'd been having in previous hotels) in a spacious breakfast room. It was well cooked and tasty.

Great little hotel in a nice town. Loved our stay. Good location off highway. Pleasant staff and a very comfortable room. Breakfast was very good. It was hot and plentiful and we had a great start to our day of travel.

You can tell a lot about a motel from the room towels and room carpet--with Lawnfield Inn has the most comfy towels and very clean carpet in the room. I can say without ANY hesitation that this B/W Inn is the best we have ever stayed in! The Lawnfield Inn is: quaint, clean, very welcoming from all the staff, great looking/tasting breakfasts and breakfast room, nice patio seating, and very comfortable rooms. The hotel NEEDS a Plus added to the B/W naming. Tip: when the in-house restaurant is closed(Sundays) the restaurant called Yours Truly is about a mile away and a very nice family style eating place.

This is by far the best Best Western we have stayed in (in fact the best chain hotel we stayed in during a 3 week tour). The accommodation and service is way above the norm for this standard and price of hotel (other chains please note). The front of house, the room and its facilities (eg glasses not plastic cups), the breakfast (proper crockery and cutlery) and all the staff we encountered were excellent. There is also a great bar and restaurant (Skye) in the building. Recommended.

My husband and I have been staying at BW Lawnfield during our Mentor visits for 14 years! We are always made to feel at home. I do have to say, they have the softest towels I have ever experienced in a hotel. Check out this BW next time you are in the area for business or pleasure!

Date of stay 5/26/2018. Beautifully appointed hotel. Very clean. Friendly employed. Room was large, bed was comfortable. Decorator detailing. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful with extra details in nicely appointed dining area. Restaurant is beautiful area, although we did not eat there the menu was interesting. The Pub is warm and comfortable, with top shelf and blended specials.

The mattress in room 104 is just plain painful to try to sleep on. It made my muscles & joints ache. Otherwise, the hotel is great. The staff is personable and professional. The property is quaint. The grounds are clean. The interior is well kept. The room was spacious. Water was immediately hot. There was little to no noise. There is a nice on site restaurant. Everthing is wonderful, until it is time to wind down and go to sleep... on that mattresses... then it all goes South... and nothing else matters... because that mattress tears all the other good stuff to shreds... and it gets worse, the longer you lay on it, as it becomes more and more painful.

The staff and management consistently deliver high quality service at this well-maintained property. Excellent complimentary hot and cold breakfast items. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Lovely hallway decors. Always our first choice when rooms are available.

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past 2 years. It is always clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It reminds me of a boutique hotel. It is very quaint.

I certainly didn't expect much from a Best Western and was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and huge. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Most free breakfasts at hotels are mediocre at best. This breakfast was extremely tasty, hot, and fresh.

We stayed in Mentor recently when doing a college visit with our daughter. This Best Western is very well decorated, clean, and is different than what you'd expect - and that's in a good way. Breakfast is what you'd expect, and the assistants were very helpful. A recommended stay if you're in the area.

I have celiac. It was nice to have a breakfast staff that was very accommodating. Sadly I am not here long enough to try the Skye restaurant, but the staff overlaps. So, there is hope for those gluten free people here. It's nice they take dogs.

We always have a great stay at Lawnfield Inn. The beds are comfy, it's nice and quiet and clean. We also love the restaurant Skye Bistro, wonderful meals eating there. That's why we always return to this place year after year

The Lawnfield Inn is very nice, high quality hotel It is close to Cleveland and extremely convienient for Kirtland. The hotel is high quality and in a nice location. The breakfast was excellent. I would stay again.

This hotel was better than expected, in every way. The staff is very friendly. The Inn is very updated and comfortable. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. I would recommend and stay here again for sure.

A first rate hotel. Polite, helpful staff. Clean, well kept rooms great brekkie. Bacon, eggs, waffles, fruit, yogurt with all types of toppings. Plus a friendly , polite breakfast attendant who cleaned your table like a restaurant waitress. Would stay here again in an instant.

Greeted as soon as you enter the front door. Nice staff and a nice little Bistro with excellent food. I was impressed that even the stairwells were nicely decorated instead of like most are barren and cold. Good historic content about President Garfield. Will stay again on each trip to the area.

Discovering this hotel via website pics, we reserved a room here. It was as elegant and non-traditional chain hotel we've ever experienced. Everything and everyone there went out of their way to offer an excellent stay. The room was spacious, very clean, comfortable, with a hint of luxury, as did the whole place, especially the restaurant. The service and food in the attached restaurant was amazing. Looking forward to return visit in the Spring.

My daughter and I stayed here one night while in town for a medical appointment. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly, the room was clean and modern and appeared to have been recently remodeled. Beds were comfortable. We did not watch TV, but appreciated that the room had a "clean remote." The room also had a mini-fridge and coffee maker. The free breakfast was excellent and had gluten-free and dairy-free options available, which my daughter needs, plus scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, etc. Various toppings were provided for oatmeal, waffles and yogurt. The breakfast room itself was very aesthetically pleasing, and the lovely lady working there was very friendly and even cleared our table for us when we were finished. We did not eat at the hotel's restaurant, but the doctor we were seeing said that it is very good. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and large. There was a sitting room with a TV. A kitchen area with microwave and refrigerator and counter space with cupboards, A king bed area with tv and closet area. Bathroom area was nice except the door opened in and was very close to the toilet. Other than that everything was Very nice.

BW Lawnfield in Mentor, OH, has the friendliest staff I have met in many years of traveling. The hotel is also well maintained and clean. Whenever we are in Mentor, this is our hotel of choice. I suggest you check it out!

The hotel, staff, room, breakfast all get a very good to excellent rating. Would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through Mentor Ohio. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The location, the Skye bar and restaurant, and overall quality would be hard to beat.

This hotel was recommended by a friend who lives by cleveland rock musuem. His father in law stays at when in town and he loved it. We arrived on christmas. The hotel restaurant and bar were closed. I was a little disappointed. Marty at the desk could not have been nicer. He suggested what restaurants might be open. About 10 min I came back through the lobby and he had already called a couple of places to see who was open. I told him how we were from Buffalo and was caught in snowstorm on the 90 in Erie for an hr getting there, when checking in. The next time I saw him he said he forgot to give me this at check in. (He did give me a little stocking for my dog with dog treats at check in. So cute and thoughtful). So he gives me a nice stocking stuffed with few vending machine things and a orange. It was just such a thoughtful and wonderful thing to give us. The hotel is so pretty and simple. The staff was so nice. I talked to the different desk clerks and grounds guys, breakfast workers and the bartender. I am a friendly person and talk to people throughout my day no matter where I might go, lol. Each employee I encountered was so friendly and really seemed to like being at work. The Pub, the bar is so pretty. Courtney rocks. When my Husband and I went there for dinner Dec 26 there were 2 men already at the bar. When we left hr later it was busy and she was so sweet and handled it all with ease, and a great personality.

Traveling over Christmas is always stressful...but the Mentor, Ohio BEST WESTERN LAWNFIELD was the perfect place to stay, for us. Proximity to family was the 1st reason for the reservation...But the hotel was wonderfully festive, offered excellent service & a friendly staff. We will stay here again. Thank you all for this excellent experience.

You will love Lawnfield. The staff treats you like real guests, not customers. The restaurant is amazing and priced in line with the food rather than jacked like some hotels do. I'd eat there if I wasn't at the hotel. The decor is really nice, almost like a B&B. I also found a Christmas card and candy cane on my pillow, a nice touch!

This is a wonderful place! The complimentary breakfast is excellent. The eggs and bacon were cooked just right and even the coffee was so satisfying that I didn't stop at a coffee shop for a second cup as I sometimes do. Everything was clean and the staff is very friendly.

My boyfriend and I had a great stay at your hotel, we had scheduled a queen room and were upgraded to a king, the room was very clean. The breakfast was amazing and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again!!

Superb hotel with exceptional staff!! The finest Best Western Hotel that I have stayed in. Excellent location and very pet friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hot breakfast was delicious and very filling. Best value for the dollar and continue to recommend to others. When my plans require additional stays in the area this will be the ONLY hotel that we will stay in.

This hotel is an excellent place to stay. The has been my eighth year that I have stayed here for up to weeks at a time. I consider it my home away from home. The atmosphere, location, cleanliness and accommodating staff are things I look forward to.

We have been on a three week east coast trip, over to Niagara, Canada, and now making our way home to Texas. We stopped here for a quick one night stay and wished we had longer in the area. We've stayed in 5 star hotels and this is still my favorite! Not a detail is missed when they created a warm, welcoming atmosphere for their patrons. The furniture, the bedding, the curtains, the hallways, the lobby, the lower level lounge and breakfast area. The breakfast, the tables, the real dishes and glassware. Even the lobby restroom was complete with towels for drying hands. Incredible. The staff seemed genuinely nice as well. I truly hope to have a reason to be back in the area just so I can visit here again. Thank you Best Western in Mentor!! Cannot praise your establishment enough.

The Best Western Plus Lawnfield Inn was a great place for a quick stopover on our 3 day drive from Fort Sill Oklahoma to New Hampshire. Thank you for a restful night and complete breakfast! Our dog, Jack loved the dog cookies, too!

Best motel stay EVER! Very elligent. It was our 10th wedding anniversary. So it was very special. The LDS missionaries referred you. Thank you. My husband said it the best motel he's stayed in. We would do it again!

This hotel was one of the best I have ever stayed at, so clean, really cool antique decorating made it feel special, not a room in a box. Everyone was nice, the breakfast was tasty and looked like they accommodated allergies (I don't have any but I know many people who do). Fluffy towels, quiet, comfortable, everything you could want. It is a little girly but there is a great pub below, so something for everyone. Nearby late night dining at Yours Truly and Spudnuts also great.

We come to this hotel not only for the convinience but the friendly staff and the bed and breakfast kind of feel! We will definitely make reservations here again. In the summer they have a very cute pool patio area we really enjoy too!

We boat on Lake Erie near Cleveland, and this location in Mentor, OH is convenient for shopping, boating, and the city activities (about 25 minutes). Setting is at a busy intersection, but they've done their best to make it a little retreat right in the middle of things. Full breakfast and free internet are welcomed!

We enjoyed our stay. We were upgraded to a king suite upon checking in. It was a lovely, spacious room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Not too fancy but nice. It was clean! After spending a few nights prior to this in not so clean hotels this was such a relief to find things cleaned and not just the toilet paper folded into a point to signify that the cleaning is done. Bed was okay, not the best and not the worst.

Wonderful hotel. The decor is creative, comfortable & very impressive. To the owner - you hit not just a home run, but a grand slam! The personnel are some of the best we have encountered anywhere in our travels. The bar/restaurant was very nice. Service was great! The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. This was the second time we've stayed at the Lawnfield Inn in the last year. We're glad we've found it as it's on our route home from our regular visits to family out east. The staff is very professional and friendly, the restaurant is many steps above usual motel restaurants. We plan on making it our regular place to stay on our way home from the east.

Hotel is so much nicer than the chain hotels I have stayed in. It is a boutique style hotel with a real lobby, restaurant, and bar. The rooms are spacious with two TVs and a sitting area. Although it is older, it has charm and is super clean. Enjoyed our stay. The people were so helpful and friendly.

This was a full 2-room suite with the sleeping area separated from the living area by the Bath & closet. it was a roomy suite with two TV's. It had a standard hot breakfast with powdered eggs, but would alternate days of sausage & bacon. You can also make your own waffle.

We were needing a room after travelling all day on our way home. We used a coupon from the welcome centre and was given a king suite for the night. It was so nice and clean. We were very tired and decided to stsy in and have dinner at their restaurant - we sat outside for 3 hours on the patio - eating leisurely and resting - it was wonderful.

This old looking place on a busy street seems out of place but the care that was taken to save it, add on to it and make it a unique quality property. Antiques abound at numerous locations. Excellent restaurant and bar....and what a bar it is too. The bar top is opaque marble (a guess) that changes color using timed lighting underneath. The rooms are spacious, bright and clean. The staff is great also. It's a little pricey at $134, but I've paid more for less.

My wife and I stopped on the way north. Expensive, but very nice, hotel was booked solid on a Friday night. Stop at a rest stop and get a brochure and try to get the $89 room. Breakfast was very nice in morning, included. Clean, well run and a nice respite.

After a long day of travel, we arrived with our 11 month old golden retriever. The check-in folks were quite pleasant and the room was lovely. The breakfast was top notch with very friendly staff. A lovely Inn!

this place is an oasis in a sea of mediocre places to stay. Elegant, staff super. FINE restaurant right in the facilities. Usual amenities like fitness center. The sitting area in room is really separated from sleeping area with own TV. REAL glass glasses--appreciated after peeling plastic shrink wrap from thick paper cups in a Hampton Inn in Cincinnati. A couple in the elevator said they always stayed there when passing through. If we traveled in that area regularly, SO WOULD WE. It was SO SO SO nice!

Have stayed here previously and will do so in future. Downtown Cleveland is less than 30 minutes drive and easy access to nearby I-90 facilitates visits to that city's eastern suburbs. Holden Arboretum is nearby as is Mentor Marsh and Headlands State Park plus well preserved examples of mid-19th Century homes typical of the Connecticut's Western Reserve.

The Best Western Plus Lawnfield Inn & Suites was like staying in a high-end B & B. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The ambience was warm and inviting. Each employee was friendly and professional and made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Our catered dinner was wonderful with good flavors and variety. Pam Malinowski was our go to person for our hospitality suite, and she ensured that every i was dotted and t crossed. One of the owners, Michael, checked on us frequently and was always available if we needed anything. The restaurant food is excellent, and our friends commented on how nice it was. Our group has traveled the world and each person said how impressed they were with the experience. Thanks for a perfect stay!

We booked a block of rooms at the Best Western Plus Lawnfield Inn recently for my son's wedding weekend and couldn't have been more pleased. From the moment I first called to inquire about a block of rooms to the final check out, I was impressed. The rooms were spacious and well tended. The public space was attractive and welcoming. We especially appreciated the public gathering space downstairs, away from the guest rooms. It was comfortable, spacious, and we didn't have to worry about bother other guests. Most of all, the staff was outstanding! I don't think I've ever been in a hotel in which every single staff member was as friendly and helpful as those at the Lawnfield Inn. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Loved the hotel. Excellent in every way. The staff was extremely attentive, professional and friendly. Food service was also excellent. Breakfast was quite good with all the cooked food well prepared and tasty. The location and parking were perfect for our needs.

Custer service is excellent at this boutique style hotel. We were there for a wedding and attended the rehearsal dinner at this hotel. The food was excellent and customer service was fantastic. They were very easy to work with, helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

The United States Air Force Thundergeezers and wives enjoyed the Cleveland Air Show and our stay at the Lawnfield Inn immensely. Our stay was among the best of our biannual Team Reunions. In the parlance of the Thunderbirds, it was a 1+ performance.

Beautiful property with the home town feeling. They were super accommodating for my Gluten Free needs. Breakfast was on real plates with silverware. Rooms were quite and comfortable. The staff was wonderful. Worth the drive off the interstate.

Very nice location, well kept property and extremely nice staff. The room was nicely laid out and decorated with amenities that made our stay comfortable and restful. The morning buffet of pastries, eggs, cereal and assorted breads was satisfying to everyone's tastes.

The Lawnfield Best Western is an outstanding hotel in everyway. The décor is beautiful and rich with history. The lobby is awesome. The staff is kind, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is one of the best we've had in a hotel. It has a lot of choices and is served on real dishes not plastic. It has a dining room feel not a cafeteria feeling!

Nice atmosphere, small and unique for a best western. Nice bar and restaurant, but the free breakfast is average at best. Very typical. The beds were pretty bad, but I felt like all was clean. I would recommend to a friend but would prepare them about the beds. I feel they charge enough for the rooms that they can afford better mattresses!

The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. The Lobby has a very home like atmosphere. The rooms are clean and well tended to. Loved staying there. It was a very enjoyable experience. Many small extras others don't have.

Our stay at the Best Western Lawnfield met our expectations and then some. The staff is helpful, breakfast setting feels like home, and the location is easily accessible to many of the tourist attractions in the area. We highly recommend this facility and will certainly return.

I've stayed here 3-4 times now, every time I am in the area, this is where I go. Every single person you encounter here will greet you with a smile and a kind word, or an offer of assistance. The rooms are large and always very clean, and the location is great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus Lawnfield. The hotel is quaint and clean. All of the staff were very nice. The room was comfortable. This hotel is in a great location near a mall, grocery store and many restaurants.

After a week on the road driving a caravan of Uhauls across the country we were thrilled to pull into the Best Western Plus Lawnfield and find, not just another roadside hotel/motel(...) but a beautifully kept bed & breakfast style Inn, situated in a cute town not far off the interstate. After getting ourselves easily situated in the ample parking lot we were warmly greated by the hotel manager who got us checked in quickly and easily in spite of our needing a pet friendly room and a few other special requests. We even got a free upgrade! We found the rooms to be very clean, well cared for, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The restaurant was quite good, though after a week of fast food and truck stops, my perspective may have been skewed. Regardless, the service was excellent and the outdoor seating quite pleasant. We slept soundly that night, and despite being surrounded by pets who we passed in the halls, heard almost no barking. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Stayed in the Lawnfield Inn during a business trip to the states. Was more than pleased! The breafast was wonderful as well as the restaurant and bar area. I will highly recommend in the future to colleagues.

I love this hotel. The grounds are lovely. Well kept up with tons of planters, baskets perennials. As for the inside, it's very nicely decorated. Oriental rugs, paintings and prints. The lobby is so cozy. With respect to restaurant, it's one of the best in Mentor. Fine dining. Prices are what you'd expect to pay for fine dining. Great service. However, it is not open Sunday for lunch or dinner. The Pub is a real nice place to meet. As for the complimentary breakfast, wow!!! Presentation is great "buffet" style, the food delicious. Lots of choices My room was sooooo comfortable. Even "Real" coffee mugs, glasses, micro, refrigerator. It is obvious the owners have thought of everything to make your stay very enjoyable.

Few hotels deliver the level of hominess,comfort, and accommodating service as Lawnfield. Breakfast is consistently outstanding. The Skye restaurant which is onsite was a place we enjoyed before we moved from the area; having it as part of the hotel now that we come back to Mentor for extended stays is priceless. What a pleasure to come back to Lawnfield after a workday and have all this instead of the sterile and unwelcoming atmosphere of other accommodations nearby. It takes a special combination of facility, appointments, and caring staff to create this kind of rare experience visit after visit. If this place doesn't make you think "home away from home", I can't imagine what it is you're looking for!

The hotel has a historical building look to it which is pretty cool. The room was clean. The continental breakfast has a waffle maker (which is always a bonus for me) and they switch out the other items daily. They had an egg burrito that was great. The fitness center left a lot to be desired. One piece of equipment was broken and the only weights they have are light dumbbells. Every employee there that I came across was extremely friendly and easy to chit chat with.

My adult son and I shared a room with 2 double beds for 5 days. Room was very comfortable and appeared to be recently redecorated. Room and all of hotel was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It was also quiet during the day as well as the evening. The staff was exceptionally helpful and nice. This is our third stay at this hotel over about 10 years and we find it to be consistently friendly, clean and comfortable. When we visit family in Mentor we will continue to stay at this inn.

what a delightful place, unique décor that made you feel like it was a bed and breakfast. Restaurant and bar on site, good food and free breakfast buffet, so you can relax and not have to drive again until you leave.

I cannot say enough good about this hotel. I used to live near it, and when I am in town to visit friends, I will not stay anywhere else. It is close to Cleveland (and the R&R Hall of Fame, Indian Stadium, The Browns, and The Cavaliers.

Everything about my stay here was wonderful. The staff was amazing, so kind and helpful. The decor was pleasant. The amenities were exactly what I wanted. The beds were a little soft for my personal taste but that's a silly complaint. Should I ever find myself in Ohio again, I will certainly be staying here.

Stay here when in Mentor or Cleveland. We have stayed here several times and never disappointed. Clean hotel and rooms. Friendly staff makes you feel welcome. Close to dining and sightseeing. Great value. We use the BW Lawnfield Inn as a standard when judging other hotel stays.

I had a meeting in Cleveland, but do not care for the areas in Cleveland. I decided to drive about 20 minutes to this hotel. This was the BEST decision I have made! The hotel is spotless, the staff is kind, and there are a bunch of great food places nearby if you choose not to eat at the hotel restaurant. Definitely would stay again.

We arrived after a long ride through rain, storms, (motorcycle trip) wind and the staff made us feel so welcome! The hotel was so warm and inviting, and all of the staff welcomed us even though we had to look terrible in our rain gear and ruffled hair! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

This was a great value for the money. The room was clean and it met all of our expectations. I am handicapped and the facilities were more than adequate to accommodate my needs. The breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant was very clean.

We have been staying at this hotel for at least 10 years when we visit family and friends in Mentor. They are the friendliest staff! The hotel is clean as well as the guest suites. And the bath towels are the softest around! I highly suggest you plan your travel stay at the BW Lawnfield in Mentor, OH!!

The best thing about the Inn was the employees. Everyone from the desk staff to the breakfast attendant to the housekeeping people was very pleasant and friendly. Also, I loved the art adorning the walls throughout the whole place. The cookies and coffee in the common area 24/7 were nice. Bed was comfy. Room was clean. There was in-room coffee, but no microwave and fridge.

WE had a king suite which included a small couch and chair with end table, desk and tv in the "living room" part of the suite. There was another TV in the bed area. Room was clean and staff were courteous. Convenient parking close to entrance. Only thing unusual was the attached restaurant was closed on Sundays, which was the day we happened to be there

Hard beds. Exhaust in room. Wonderful employees. Ordinary rooms, very small bathroom. Great breakfast. Why does it have to be 200 ? This is the third review I have been asked to do and I think I am getting more and more put out.

Stayed four nights around the 4th of July holiday to visit with family. Speedy check in, but first room provided was a first floor room - with lighting, room was dark. Opening the drapes brought in the light, but on the ground floor next to the sidewalk leading into the hotel was not a great option for us. Went back and received a room on an upper floor (only 3 floors) and room was fine. Two double beds, one cushioned chair, one task chair/table, a night stand between the two beds, and a credenza with flat screen TV, six drawers and a mini fridge. On the credenza was a one cup coffee maker, ice bucket and some cups. AC seemed to work okay, usual wall unit, a bit load, but kept the room cool. Closet near door with safe large enough for laptops. Bathroom though was small - had to step back over the toilet to close the door. Not alot of counter space for two adults and two teenagers and their kits. Place was clean, tidy. Breakfast fare pretty standard - nice staff person cleaning tables and replenishing food. We skipped 2 of 4 breakfasts to try local restaurants with better coffee and meals. Hotel near the corner of a busy intersection, making it difficult to make a left turn almost against the light. You can leave out of an overflow parking lot that takes you through a neighboring business lot onto a side street to make the left turn possible. Small parking lot - late arrivals have to park in overflow. No restaurants within walking distance on a busy main street, and we did not try the hotel restaurant, which looked good. Hotel restaurant closes at 9 PM. Nice hotel. Will stay here again in the future, or try some places near restaurants within walking distance.

Stayed here during a visit to Cleveland. Entire facility was nicely decorated and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and was very good. Will definitely stay here again when we visit this area.

Always come here when visiting family. Great staff, clean, quiet. Easy access to freeways to make it easy to visit any number of attractoons. Restaurant is good. Close to grocery/ shopping if you need incidentals or snacks. Very accomodating and always put forth extra effort to make my stay great.

With a discount from one of those highway coupon books this hotel was a huge surprise/bargain! Nicely appointed, attractive building, clean, comfortable bed, polite, helpful staff. Better than average breakfast (also, a nice looking restaurant and pub on the premises).

This location looked lovely from the outside and I was greeted in a very friendly manner. The hotel has a small and refreshing pool surrounded by a lovely garden, breakfast service was friendly. The room was agreeable until I got into bed late and was surrounded by a mild but very offensive odor. The pillows should have been replaced ages ago and the lights on both sides of the beds were not working. I mentioned the issue to the front desk Sunday morning and there was no manager available to speak to. I was told someone would contact me Monday, which they did not. I left a VM message for Marty the General Manager Monday afternoon and did not get a call back Monday or Tuesday. Best Western sent me an email Monday evening with the opportunity to review my experience which I did stating facts. I called Marty Tuesday afternoon and he was steamed, stating he took a few days off, had a right to take a vacation and that the hotel he stayed at on his vacation was not agreeable. What?? I suggest customer service be available on Sundays or for someone to call customers back Monday. Apparently Marty did not like me sharing facts with his company after he did not respond to me after 24 hours. I believe my room should've been ready for me when I arrived and that it's not a customer's responsibility to fix problems at midnight. I encourage the owner of this hotel to review these issues with his staff. Marty I suggest you keep your personal information to yourself and offer better customer service to your customers by returning phone calls promptly and addressing fact-based issues. I would like to return to this BW+ location. Without a phone call back from a professional and courteous representative I will not be able to. There's a large group of us that visit to the area several times a year and I would like to be able to recommend this location which is located in a lovely neighborhood. I hope to hear back from someone to resolve these issues. This hotel has great potential but with poor service I cannot return.

We were referred to the Best Western in Mentor, and were not disappointed. The amenities were very nice along with the decor which was very beautiful. The staff were very pleasant; every one of them! If I were to need a hotel in the future in Mentor Ohio, I would look forward to my stay.

Decor is charming and historic, based on the proximity to Pres. Garfield's residence (1/2 mile away). The staff was cheerful, accommodating and helpful. Rooms, breakfast and amenities pretty standard for this category..

My sister & I stayed at the Lawnfield for a funeral. The first night my sister had blood on her sheets & my parents had a spider on their bed (they stayed in another room). The next night I had blood on my sheets. The same girl changed both of our sheets. Lawnfield did comp us one night, but how disgusting & unsanitary to have blood on our sheets 2 times.

I was visiting my mother who is in assisted living. This place was fine. Room was great. My only complaint is they didn't have automatic doors which made it a pain when you're moving in luggage on your own.

This our fifth or sixth time to stay here. Pet fee is $20 - well worth it. The rooms are always clean - the staff incredibly helpful and the free breakfast is great - they have gluten free options. We have never had anything but great food in the restaurant. Last night they served us on the patio so our dog could sit with us. We will always choose this if we are in the area.

I just completed a week stay at Best Western Plus Lawnfield in Mentor, OH. From my first phone conversation making a reservation, to final checkout, everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. This is a boutique hotel built around a historic home, which serves as the location of Skye bar. There is also a very nice restaurant with live music on several of the nights I was there. The decor was in keeping with the historic home, and all was very neat and clean and lovely. My room was also very neat and clean, with a sitting area with sofa, chair, TV, and desk, as well as a long kitchen counter, micro, fridge, and coffeemaker. The bed was super comfortable, and this room also had a TV. There was tons of storage in the sitting room, bedroom and in cabinets above and below the kitchen bar. I have stayed in other hotels and conference centers in the area, but this hotel was much nicer at a more reasonable price. It is also centrally located, and easy to go in any direction from the hotel. I recommend BW Plus Lawnfield, and plan to stay there from now on, whenever I visit my family in Mentor.

We stopped at this Best Western because if allowed pets for a $20 charge. Friendly staff all around. The food in the pub was very good. We don't usually eat dinner at the restaurant in the hotel but this was and exception. We would definitely stop here again.

We were in Mentor for jewelry classes at Flux Metal Arts. We choose this hotel for the location. We were very please with everything about the stay! Very friendly and relaxing. Even the stairways are carpeted and decorated.

The mattress was very uncomfortable. Needs to be replaced. Tried both beds and they were the same. All other aspects of the room were fine. Would still stay there again. Would also recommend to friends.

Not bad...bed was not very comfortable. Great TV options for sports. Staff person said there was a ghost in the house. It was kind of freaky but who believes in ghosts? Some do, eh. Lounge bar is nice addition to hotel. It was a century old house so you get what you get. Overall I thought it was okay. But if you are a normal Hilton or Marriott member this is different. It's old school and that's okay.

Very nice little hotel! We enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and the whole experience was a little different than the hotels I usually stay. The building was old in a good way. Clean comfortable, but almost historic.

Rooms were spacious with a sitting area. Towels were so so soft. Bed very comfortable. Decor was nice. Lobby area and dining room were beautiful. Wish we had more time to enjoy a dining experience. Will definitely stay there again.

We arrived late at night, I was a little worried that our room was around the corner from the elevator. To our delight we never heard a peep or ding for that matter. Our room was spacious and very clean. The next morning in the breakfast room we were greeted warmly and had delicious offerings hot and cold. The whole place is spotless. Very nice above average place to stay.

It was our 2nd stay here (had a great experience 6 years ago that brought us back). The staff is all beyond perfect. Great rates for LDS Historic Kirtland visitors, close to Garfield Home/Library. We love the hotel and will always stay here.

I reviewed this hotel once when we were heading West on our honeymoon but we stayed there again on the way back East and I just wanted to add an additional review! The man and the counter, Doug, greeted us and remembered us from our previous visit two weeks earlier which was nice. We, again, were able to make a last minute reservation and got a nice room and were told dinner was still being served despite the hour if we were hungry. Nothing but good experiences here!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful, a fantastic value for the price, and all eight of us in my family agreed it was our favorite hotel we have stayed in. All of the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast options were wonderful. We wished we would have stayed more than one night there.

Old-school hospitality with all the modern perks. I enjoyed the extras that went along with the hotel and it was obvious that they went "the extra mile" to make sure our stay was "a cut above." This is going to be my hotel of choice in the future when visiting Mentor for business. Very friendly and helpful staff. A++

We stayed here while in town for a family funeral. Every staff person we met was helpful and concerned with meeting any needs we had. The breakfast was varied and well made and the rooms and beds were very comfortable. We were able to bring our dog with us and it was a great location to take her for walks and nearby parks. The restaurant was excellent as well.

Hotel is very clean,rooms are a little outdated but super clean. I do agree with another review here that indeed some rooms are bit noisy. Staff is super friendly and they have fresh breakfast everyday. Will be back next time too . Also the onsite restaurant (SKYE) is very nice. Good Quality food and 10% discount for hotel customers .

We live this Best Western Plus. This is a great deal for the money. 2 TV's sitting area, kitchen area . This is 2 year in a row that we stopped for an overnight 1 night stay. They have a Excellent free breakfast with eggs ,bacon,waffles, cereals, baked goods, fruit, yogurt. Plenty of seats also a TV. They have newspapers- but they were gone by 9 am.

This location had the feel more of a bed and breakfast than a BW hotel. The staff was professional, friendly and went out of their way to ensure a pleasurable stay. Rooms and public spaces were outstanding. I would definitely stay here again should my travel plans bring me back to Mentor.

My husband and I arrived quite late in the evening, the last ones to register. I was very grateful that they had held the reservation and not given it away. The room was quiet and spacious. The outside of the building has more of bed and breakfast look to it than a normal hotel as there is a pleasant porch with chairs as you enter the lobby. It can be a bit difficult to find a parking place(especially if you arrive late as we did). I did notice a vacant lot next to the parking area where it looked like some people had parked. Perhaps that has been purchased for expanded parking but I don't know for sure. This is handicap accessible with a ramp into the lobby and an elevator to the upper floors as well as to the breakfast area located below the lobby. Not sure if the main doors into the hotel have a button to open them but you may want to check on this if it's necessary. We were warned that they would be doing a fire drill in the AM and that we wouldn't be required to leave the building. Good to know ahead of time.

We often break up our long drive between our home in upstate New York and our daughter's home in Kentucky with an overnight stay in Ohio. We have tried many hotels on our route but our stay last night at the Lawnfield Best Western gave us a new favorite. We have stayed here a few times in the past and remembered the friendly reception, the charming ambiance of the lobby, and the comfortable rooms. But it is the addition of an onsite restaurant that sealed the deal for us. We really appreciate the convenience of not having to drive some place for dinner after driving all day. The Skye restaurant besides being convenient was also wonderful. (See my restaurant review). We loved it. We also loved the complementary breakfast at the Lawnfield which included great breakfast burritos and bacon and other offerings. Plus we appreciated the added bonus of china plates and mugs and real utensils for breakfast. The Lawnfield feels like a real inn and not just a stop off the interstate for us, and we will be back on our next trip through.

This property is very reminiscent to a bed and breakfast, but so much more with the very nicely appointed king rooms and four star restaurant. This location is so unique with it's historical charm from the older home that is attached ( circa 1840 ) and has been conformed into the Pub/Lounge. What a comfortable, inviting and hospitable hotel. Thank you all for making my family's stay most enjoyable.

Very comfortable and elegant for a chain hotel, alost felt like a bed and breakfast. Enjoyed our overnight so much that we drove back for a second night when we had to stay in Cleveland for another day.

Our family really enjoyed this motel. Very clean, quiet and close to everything in the area. King suites were roomy. Multiple, beautifully appointed common areas. Easy parking near any room. Excellent staff, friendly, helpful, responsive. Extensive free, hot breakfast. A little pricey without a discount, but well worth it.

From the appointments of the lobby and hallways to the room decor and breakfast room, this property seemed to say, "Welcome weary traveler. Make yourself at home." The staff was clearly interested in creating the atmosphere of welcome. I was thoroughly charmed.

Great little hotel with nice restaurant and great free breakfast (hot items). Staff is friendly. Feels cozy. Location is easy access to major roadways, but nothing 'scenic' in the area. Allows Pets for about $20 surcharge.

We traveled out to Ohio from Boston to visit our son for the long Columbus Day weekend. He is attending school out there. I chose the Best Western because we stayed at two others in Vermont over the summer and became rewards members and had a great experience. The rooms and hotel are always clean, spacious, neat, updated, comfortable and affordable. I researched a lot of hotels in the Mentor Ohio and many had really bad reviews but not the Best Western. I actually booked it again for February when our son will be graduating. The Best Western is worth it! Don't bother looking anywhere else.

While traveling in Ohio, i stopped and grabbed a copy of the hotel magazine found at rest stops nation wide. To my delight I found a coupon that listed room price at $89 any day for this hotel. It very clearly and simply stated that double or queen room would be $89 based on availability. After arriving at the hotel, I found they did indeed have the rooms explained in the coupon available. I was told the price would be $139. When I presented the coupon I was told that rooms were not available. After a discussion, the desk person told me rooms were available, just not at that price. She explained they keep a limited number of rooms (2) at that price. I asked why that wasn't specified in the ad and she had no answer. I have spoken to employees at the Best Western Corporation and found that they support this practice. This is an unscrupulous business practice known as "Bait and Switch". It is employed to deceive the customer. If you don't understand please read this link for an explanation of this shady practice. My goal is to alert weary travelers, don't waste your time with Best Western. Do not exit the highway to stop at this property as it will very likely a complete waste of your time. We all know that when traveling long distances we are usually tired and do not have time to waste on business that who will deceive us. I also have to wonder if they use this unscrupulous, devious practice, what other sneaky practices do they employee? I have found in my travels devious people are not devious in one are, but usually will use what ever method to fleece you of your hard earned money. Stay at this property at your own risk.

This place was absolutely great for a girls weekend away to see the New England Patriots football game. It was in a perfect location away from the stadium. Free breakfast is always a plus and it was delicious.

I like the quaintness of the decor and the service personnel were fantastic. The food was outstanding.. The sweet potato fries were the best I have ever had and I appreciated the piano player. Nice atmosphere.

Second time at this hotel and it's a great place to stay. If you are going to a baseball or other sports game, it's only 30 minutes to the Cleveland stadiums. Mentor is a nice little town. The hotel also has an excellent restaurant.

Went to Mentor Ohio and stayed at the Best Western Plus on Mentor Avenue. The BW has an excellent staff. Lois was wonderful at the front desk. The buffet breakfast was fresh, hot and very tasty. The king room had a sitting room, central bathroom and the sleeping area. Two televisions, coffee maker refrigerator, microwave and a safe. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The best full service restaurant complete with a live piano music is on site. The food was outstanding and the price was excellent. There is a pub with great bar food and the beverages are priced on the value side. This BW was rated the best on Mentor and I would say it was my top Best Western Plus in my travels. We were there for two nights.

We got here at the end of a long day of driving expecting a typical chain hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was and how helpful and friendly the man at the desk was considering we made a last minute reservation at 8:30 pm and showed up around 9 or 10. The room and bathroom were nice and clean and Chris was able to get some ice for ice water despite the hour. Breakfast was nothing special but overall we had a good experience and would stay here again.

I stayed there for one night in Oct 2016, using Priceline express deal. I had a standard room with 2 full beds, and it was about the same size as the room in other hotels I've stayed, so I guess for other reviewers mentioning super spacious room, they must had a different room type. The hotel is clean, had some antique like furniture and decorations in the hallway. The front desk is efficient and polite, so does the breakfast lady. The breakfast room is spacious and well maintained, but I am not particularly impressed with their breakfast. It is not bad, but both the quality and variety are what you expect from a 3-star hotel, no wow factor here at all. The bed quality is good, I had a good night sleep there. I also like the little fridge in the room, a nice feature I always appreciate. Overall a nice stay!

We very much enjoy the spaciousness of the rooms at the Best Western Lawnfield. The staff is always helpful. On this visit we needed a very early check in and they accommodated our request. We're not always fans of the "breakfast troughs" at hotels but the food here is fresh, and well presented.

Not long after we checked in, a medical emergency prevented us from experiencing the comfort of the room but I have no doubt it would have been great. The staff was outstanding in an emergency and very helpful and reassuring that our luggage and vehicle was safe during the 2 day hospitalization. It is a lovely hotel with restaurant and pub inside of it. A nurse at the hospital raved about their breakfasts ; )

This hotel exceeds expectations. The king room is very spacious with a living room area and bed room with 2 TV sets, and a mini kitchen with microwave and refrigerator with lots of cabinets. Bed was very comfy. The room, sheets and towels are very clean. I was traveling with my 8 month old daughter and they provided us with a mini crib with clean sheets on it. There is always complimentary coffee and cookies in the lobby and the breakfast is pretty great especially the mini waffles that you make your own. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Excellent hotel and an excellent restaurant! This was the best BW we stayed in until now. The rooms are big and clean and very confortable. The reastaurant is located within the hotel and the food is just wonderful. We will come again when we will be near Cleveland. Montor is a very nice little town also.

The Lawnfield Inn is full of antiques and has loads of character. We have stayed here 4 times now on visiting our family in the USA and always enjoy each visit. The staff are so kind and helpful and hardly change at all, which is the sign of a good, well run hotel. We look forward to our next time.

Being centrally located for my needs of visiting family and friends, we had an excellent time staying here. I would highly recommend this Best Western for anyone to stay at. I plan on staying here again in the future.

This is a very nice and clean motel with a restaurant and friendly desk clerks. There is a refrigerator and free WiFi, but no microwave. The room has a desk with a chair, large flat screen T.V. and a comfortable bed. There is a nice showerhead with good water pressure, but poor lighting in the bathroom. The motel offers a hot breakfast with cheese scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, English muffins, variety of sweet muffins and fresh fruit.

desk clerk was very friendly. room was lovely and everything was clean, very clean ..breakfast was wonderful, beds comfortable there is a restaurant and bar located in the hotel called Skype, just a nice place to hang out.furnishings were very nice. I would definitely stay there again

We have stayed at this hotel twice in the past two months, when traveling to the Cleveland Clinic. It is not far off Interstate 90 on the outskirts of Cleveland, close to James Garfield's house and Presidential Library. On both visits we have been impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the general quality of the Hotel, and the unique furnishing of the public areas. The rooms are well appointed. The HVAC was effective and reasonably quiet. The Breakfast buffet is one of the best we have come across, in particular because my wife has celiac disease and other food allergies, and at most hotel breakfast bars she is limited to just fresh fruit, juice and coffee. Here there were several options. The Skye restaurant also provided excellent evening service, a top notch gluten free menu, a pianist, and reasonable prices given the surroundings. We did have a few gripes, however, on our second visit. One of the power outlets in the ground floor room did not work, and we had to plug the affected light into a different outlet. Although the work surfaces were clean, the housekeeper had missed secondary surfaces such as the top of the backsplash around the bathroom sink and the mirror surround. Also, we found we were sharing the bathroom with a family of ants. We reported this to the Front Desk clerk, who responded quickly with an insecticide spray and air freshener. She told us that if the house had not been full, she would have moved us to another room. The hotel also discounted our bill in recognition of the issue. We would return to this hotel

Stayed only one night but it was pleasant. Clean rooms with nice décor. Friendly staff especially the woman working breakfast room Did not eat in hotel restaurant but it was quite busy during our stay. Quaint outside pool area and attractive and well maintained exterior.. Good location. Would definitely stay here again.

This is my third stay while out on the Bike at this Facility. The best facility in the Chain. Its always a pleasure and the complimentary breakfast is always first rate. (real plates and flatware) We will be returning when our travel plans go near the Cleveland area.

we got caught in the rain and decided to take a chance on getting a room. It was a good decision. The room was big and comfy. It was old fashioned, clean and roomy. The shower and water pressure were good. We had a king size room with 2 tvs. The wifi was good.We didn't use the pool or eat in the dinning room but both looked nice. The only down side was the bed. The bed was lumpy, hard and uncomfortable.

We get to this part of Ohio about once a year and always stay at this hotel. Our most recent visit reminded us of why we love this place. We had a nice suite with a separate living room, nice bathroom with plenty of counter space, and a bedroom. Between the living room and bedroom there's a wet bar with a refrigerator and microwave. The free breakfast buffet is a step above the average with freshly made eggs, breakfast meat and plenty of cold choices as well. The woman taking care of the breakfast area is friendly and keeps the area clean and neat. Front desk staff are helpful and friendly. We will keep staying here whenever we're in the area.

Wonderful place to stay. The common area furnishings were so unexpected. Almost like walking thru someone's home. Our suite was large, exceptionally well appointed and clean. The included breakfast was like no other we've experienced in other complimentary breakfasts. Really, actual plates and utensils, not styrofoam and plastic! The staff was so pleasant, friendly and helpful.

This is not a fancy hotel (in fact it may be a little dated) however it is clean and every person we had contact with was super friendly. There is not much in the way of fancy hotels in the Mentor or Painesville area. My husband has family in the area so we visited a different hotel last time we visited which I reviewed and believe this hotel is a much better choice for the area, maybe even the best choice however I have not visited every hotel in the area. We drove up from North Carolina and had to use the restroom as soon as we arrived as there was not a rest area for at least the last hour of the drive so we needed to run in to "take care of business" first. The tall gentleman at the desk pointed us to the rest rooms in the lobby which was my first experience with the hotel. While the hotel is not fancy I could immediately see that someone took the time to make nice little "homey" touches. These nice "homey" touches" are evident throughout the hotel. And it was very clean as well. Great first impression before check-in. Since we drove straight through, my husband wanted to take a walk after sitting for so long. So after the short and friendly check-in process was completed (by the same tall gentleman) my husband made inquiries about a walk. The man suggested a very short walk (I did not track it but it was probably a half mile) to the James A Garfield National Historic Site which was a very nice museum for the 20th president. I recommend visiting the museum if you visit the area. I learned a lot. After the walk, we ate in the onsite restaurant, Skye, which was very nice. I will probably write a separate review for that however I would like to say it was a very pleasant surprise. The same restaurant also provides room service which we did not need on this trip since it was just an overnight trip. The restaurant is also popular with locals and can get busy I understand. They also provided a nice continental breakfast in the morning which also included scrambled eggs and sausages. I happen to enjoy especially fancy breakfasts downtown in our hometown so it is difficult for me to rate a continental breakfast objectively. The room was clean and even had the luggage racks out and setup. Our room had a small refrigerator which I always consider a plus. Though it is located on a highway, our room which was even on the first floor was very quiet (I should add I wear ear plugs because I find hotel room units to sometimes be very loud). Negatives? Well it is not a fancy hotel so keeping that in mind, the only "negatives" would be some possibly outdated info I found in the binder at the desk in the room. For instance it said there was not a restaurant on site. But on top of the desk it provides info about the onsite restaurant. The management may want to take a look at the binders to make certain it is current. Bottom Line: The room rate was a great value for what we received.

I have stayed at many Best Western and I consider Lawnfield Inn & Suites in Mentor, OH the best. The Front Desk is very helpful. The food is excellent. We enjoyed the lounge/bar area. The breakfast was the best I have every had. Great coffee! Internet worked great. No spooling.

This is a great place to stay. Service was excellent. Every employee went out of their way to help and make us feel at home. The décor with all the antiques is a lesson in itself. And don't forget to check out the décor in the fire exit stairs. All carpeted and decorated with heirloom antiques. Very quiet hotel. Great breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

This is the best hotel we have stayed at recently for friendliness and courtesy of staff. People at the desk are very helpful with directions and finding nearby restaurants. A very relaxing atmosphere. No problems at all! Breakfast is good as well.

We were on a two-day trip from Connecticut to Minnesota and were extremely impressed by this exceptional hotel. Although close to a major intersection in Mentor, it was quiet. The entire hotel is appointed in antiques and much love and care has gone into the service and furnishings throughout. Nice touch on the luggage rack which also had Victorian fabric strips ! Unbelievable. The breakfast was very nice, very attentive staff. (Though I could have done without the open door/kitchen across from the buffet and bucket of cleaning solution right beside it.) The feeling of an old hotel with a very reasonable price. Did not disappoint. We visited the President James Garfield home and grounds just up the road. That was a great history lesson on not a well-known president but a very industrious man in agriculture and Ohio politics, as well as learning about his lovely family.

This was our last stop after traveling a 2500 mile loop from NY, PA, VA, WV, KY and OH. We were treated with friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. The room was spacious and extremely clean. Stayin here was was very welcoming, a nice homey feeling. This is the first time we wanted to review on-line. The website does do it justice. There some surprises at other hotels THIS WAS THE FIRST PLEASANT SURPRISE. WE WILL DEFINITELY PLAN TO RETURN HERE ON OUR NEXT VENTURE!

I stayed at the Inn this past month when I was visiting family in the area. It was just wonderful. Very comfortable, clean, and the staff were all very accommodating, professional, and friendly. Although the pool is a little small for swimming it is a nice area to relax with a drink in the late afternoon/evening. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the lady working the area couldn't be more pleasant or efficient. The fresh made waffles with Ohio maple syrup was more than a pleasant surprise; probably lucky for me I only stayed two nights. I was particularly impressed with what I witnessed in the breakfast room the 2d day. There was a man working in a service capacity, who seemed to be intellectually challenged, and the lady working the buffet was so kind and helpful to him ensuring he understood what need to be done and that he completed his job satisfactorily. That was so heartwarming and a wonderful way to start the day. I applaud the hotel and the lady managing the breakfast buffet. I will definitely be back and will be looking forward to it.

We have stayed in Mentor many times (family in the area) and usually stay at another chain hotel, but the price was cheaper so wanted to try the Lawnfield Inn & Suites, and are very glad we did. An excellent boutique hotel - terrific service and tastefully furnished. It has everything that a larger hotel has - restaurant, pub, swimming pool, fitness room, complimentary internet - as well as complimentary hot breakfast. I cannot think of any negatives during our 4 night stay. We will stay there again.

We try to stay in Mentor every summer for a few days to catch some minor league baseball and this is our favorite place to stay. Service is always top notch and the rooms are always spotless. We were very excited to see new furniture in the King Suite this year. My son especially appreciated the comfort of the new sofa bed. I appreciate that staff work hard to maintain the property and the attention to detail is evident from the moment you enter the lobby. Great to see Ann again handling the complimentary breakfast area. Her food selections are always great and she keeps the dining area very clean and well stocked. We'll be back!!

My family stayed there for 4 nights. The place was recommended by my sister who lives around the corner. When we checked in the desk person was rude about how many of us were staying there. Then we got to the room it was really dusty, Cobb webs on the fake flowers and genital hair in the bath tub. We complained and they cleaned it really fast. Their excuse was they were rushing because we had an early check in I would not stay there again

Staff was friendly and helpful, even helping us with some last minute faxing. Hotel was clean, nicely decorated and in excellent shape. The room was spacious with a nice sitting area, a good desk and plenty of outlets. The fridge and microwave came in handy. Room temp controls worked well. Shower was wonderful. Bed was a little soft for us, but overall we loved our room and the hotel. Will stay here again when we're back in the area.

The Skye Restaurant is an amazing place to eat! With great food and wonderful service It is one of the few restaurants that I would like to taste everything on the menu. The staff was very attentive to our needs. The pool looked inviting and the rooms were spotless.The breakfast bar was amazing and the choices were a great start to my day. I had a very comfortable stay.

Only there for one night, very quite,clean. most of the workers were very nice, a couple were rather harsh. The breakfast lady was a little over bearing. We felt like we going to do something wrong with every move. The only hotel I have been told not to touch the waffle maker. She would take care of it.

After a long day of driving this was a perfect place to unwind! Comfy bed, spacious room. Dining on the premises meant we didn't have to get in the car again to go get dinner! Suzanne in the pub was very helpful. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant and professional. Often, free hotel breakfasts means eating from plastic plates with plastic utensils. This place offered its breakfast with real dishes and flatware. The hotel had the feel of a grand home, unlike many "cookie cutter" hotel properties.

A best western box filled with old-fashioned style, comfortable chairs, prints on all the walls, real mugs and glasses at breakfast, in imitation of James A. Garfield's home "Lawnfield." Best of ten Best Western places we stayed this summer, and the staff were well informed and friendly. .

This cute hotel is located along a busy road in Mentor. But we never heard road noise while in our room. The room was very clean and comfortable with windows that actually opened! A mini fridge was in the room and it worked well. The beds were comfortable, the room was quiet - what more could ask for? A free breakfast was provided and the people staffing it were very friendly and efficient at keeping things refilled and cleaned up. A very nice pool was located in the front of the property, but shielded from the road with nice landscaping that provided privacy. However, we were told that to get to the pool we had to walk outside and around the front of the building instead through the inner door because it was located in the dining room. Seems like a strange place for the door to the pool. And there was a place for pool towels beside the pool, but it was never filled so we had to ask at the desk. No washer and dryer on site, however the front desk will recommend a local laundromat. I would definitely stay here again.

We were in town for a funeral (next door to funeral home). The staff was so friendly at all times. Very large and clean room, Very delicious hot breakfast choice (eggs with cheese). Nice quiet neighborhood.

Usually we really like this hotel, but this time our room smelled of mildew and the shower head was disgusting. The breakfast was absolutely depressing. Never have I seen such poor fare offered. This hotel needs to up its game.

The staff were some of the friendliest I have ever encountered. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Any quetions I had about where I was going the next morning were answered clearly. The restaurant is very highly rated and has excellent food.

This was a last minute booking (literally). We were a baseball team requiring 6 rooms. Called the 800 # - located this property close to our destination for the following day. We were all pleasantly surprised that this hotel was this well appointed and comfortable. The group that I was travelling with thought I was a miracle worker for finding such a great hotel. Even though it was only one night - the stay was great.

The finest Best Western we've ever stayed in. Took a chance on same day booking and were delighted with everything from check in, to check out. Comfortable bed and pillows, very pretty decor. Restaurant offers a variety of dishes to suit any taste along with a nice wine list and a piano player. What a treat after a long day of driving. Staffers are friendly and helpful and a pleasure to talk with. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else the next time we travel through . Thanks to all!

We stopped here without a reservation on our way to New York. The room was big, clean, and quiet. We rested well, enjoyed a great hot breakfast, and had coffee out on the porch. It was a great start to our vacation.

We've always chosen Lawnfield Inn and Suites when we come to Mentor for several reasons, but it's central location on Mentor Ave and Center Street, it's home-like atmosphere, cleanliness, comfort and overall welcoming staff are key to our consistent satisfaction with this hotel. The breakfast room is spacious, food is plentiful, fresh and tasty. Hotel is quiet with comfortable beds.

This is an excellent hotel. It features a first class restaurant with wonderful menu options that you would not expect from a hotel chain. The service in the lounge and restaurant is exceptional and the staff if very polite, professional and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. The owner even takes time to come by your dinner table and converse with you.

This hotel is a gem. If you're looking for a small hotel with outstanding service, then look no further. The room was comfortable, the furnishings genteel, the service personal and extremely helpful, and the staff sincerely wants to make guests comfortable. This is not the typical chain hotel, but a home away from home. We travel with 2 dogs--when we checked out, we were asked if the dogs enjoyed their stay (yes, but their egos are much larger as a result of the attention they received . . .) I have a serious food allergy and several intolerances: The Skye Restaurant on site worked with me extremely well. We had a lovely meal with no concerns about my comfort or safety. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Thanks for the wonderful evening!

Hotel staff greets us as family. This is our preferred hotel to stay at in Mentor, OH. The restaurant and lounge have exceptional food and beverages, and the staff is always attentive. Great location a short drive to everything in Mentor. Outdoor pool is nice and the fitness center is a great place for a morning workout. There is a great spread for breakfast and offers options for everyone.

We stopped at this hotel because it was the first one we came to. It was a pleasant surprise. Very nicely decorated, clean rooms, helpful staff, nice lounge area. Room was Huge with a separate sitting area which was nice for us. would stay here again.

The staff was cheerful, helpful and competent. This Best Western was in a lovely old building. We were in the area for a funeral and it was a perfect place for us to stay. The neighborhoods around the hotel were safe and we enjoyed walking. We didn't use the pool, but it looked cozy and well taken care of. This was our second stay at this facility and we will certainly go back if we need their facility again.

OK room....smelled musty. Found a lower rate on the web and front desk said she could not honor it and that it happens all the time. Restaurant overpriced and didn't find the staff very friendly. Residence Inn not too far away is a way better value.

Staff especially attentive to our needs! Quiet and clean with a modern yet quaint atmosphere . Full breakfast was hot and delicious and clean just as the rooms were comfortable and spot on tidy. The meeting I attended was comfortable also and the staff was great at handling ever request. Reasonably priced room for location. Would not think twice about staying there! Go for it!

This was the second time that we have stayed in this hotel, and it again met our expectations. The décor of the hotel and our room was very tastefully done. We ate at the restaurant, Skye, in the evening, and the food was excellent also. Breakfast was great, and everything was kept very clean and filled. I have recommended this hotel to others, and will stay here again if we are travelling through Mentor.

Super friendly staff, very nice welcome area and overall charm made it feel more like a B&B than a hotel. Cookies and coffee available around the clock and front desk staff was charming and extremely helpful.

The room was nicely done, quiet and clean. I had spent the day riding my bicycle from New York and I remembered staying there many years earlier. They were very accommodating. I mostly I wanted a clean and quiet room. The bed was comfortable and I sleep well. Just what I needed. The desk clerk got me a first floor room to help me with the bike. They could not have done more!

After not staying here for several years we will come back again. Carpets finally replaced and rooms updated. Breakfast was just OK. Really like the new AC/Heater units. Towels nice too for a change. Everyone was friendly.

This is a fabulous hotel. GREAT room, great staff, very clean, comfortable room, comfortable location, all and all just a very nice stay. We were on a cross country drive and often stay in Best Westerns.....this was a cut above the norm. The bar was lively but not noisy, friendly and well attended. The food was excellent. Service excellent. Beds and pillows were great. Breakfast was super. Just all around a great stay. Many thanks.

Very nice and clean place with good helpful employees. All was good with the exception of a hot room, which took too long to cool off. Would stay there again, but would check the air before checking in.

Wow! I cannot say enough good things about this property. Where to begin? After a business trip to Cleveland, I decided to stay one additional night in the area to sight-see. I chose this property merely by price point and general location... not expecting much more than the prerequisite clean bed, free parking, free WiFi, and a quick bite for breakfast. I got all those things- and more- all done incredibly well. The front desk staff was attentive and helpful. Arriving on a Sunday, the onsite restaurant was closed but it looked very inviting. When asked about a local restaurant suggestion, the young woman staffer had the perfect recommendation along with very concise and accurate directions. There is a public computer in the lobby along with complimentary coffee and cookies. The lobby- as with the entire property - is beautifully decorated, feeling more like a welcoming B&B than a chain hotel. There are so many little touches that make this property special. Even the hallways have decorative furnishings, interesting framed memorabilia, and well-stocked magazine/book racks. The breakfast room was huge, clean, and well thought out. There was a friendly and helpful attendant, "real" dishes. and a good selection of breakfast items. I had booked a King Suite for an incredibly good price. That came with a sitting room (TV, pull-out sofa, chair, desk), a kitchen-esque area (large counter-top, cabinets/drawers, microwave & refrigerator), a nice sized bathroom, and a quiet comfy bedroom with a second TV and ample wardrobe cabinet. My room exceeded every expectation. Plus, it featured that hotel rarity- windows that actually open! It was so refreshing to be able to feel a fresh breeze in the morning. If I ever return to anywhere even vaguely near this part of Ohio, I will definitely stay here again. I cannot recommend the Best Western Plus- Lawnfield Inn & Suites enough.

Good service even at midnight when we arrived. Breakfast was fantastic, and we were even served our waffles! We were hauling a trailer and there was no easy way to park, so they might want to consider adding options for people with trailers.

Hotel was very nice to stay at, it had a nice country feel to it. There is a bar and a restaurant on site but we only made it to the bar (which was comfy and relaxing). The room itself was nice and free breakfast is always a good thing. Being a history buff, I am very disappointed that we could not check out James Garfield's home and burial place but we had to drop another couple off at their car at the wedding venue. Whomever stays at the hotel (or in the area in general) should definitely check that stuff out.

We first stayed at this hotel 5 years ago when we were enroute to a wedding. We drove an extra 2 and a half hours to get here to stay overnight again and they did not disappoint. The reception desk personnel could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The rooms were beautifully appointed, the right temperature and comfortable and quiet. Even though it was late and the bar was going to close, Suzanne the bartender stayed open to serve us a wonderful glass of red wine which always helps when you have driven ten hours. She was polite and friendly and made us feel like family. It was such a pleasant surprise and made the day end on such a wonderful note. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was more than helpful. My only criticism and it's a small one is that they moved the breakfast to a meeting room and when we had been there before, it was served in what is now their restaurant with alot of light and a wonderful view. We missed that and wished that it had been that way again.

Hotel is themed with memorabilia of President Garfield, whose historic home and grounds is less than a half mile from the property. The decorating is extensive and tasteful. The breakfast is excellent and included with the room. the staff are all helpful and friendly. I would recommend this to folks appreciate good service and surroundings. This is not a resort hotel. The hotel is on a heavily traveled local road and some road noise can be heard,

We've been staying at this hotel every year for a track meet for the last four years. We love it!!! The staff is great, the hotel itself is beautiful and we look forward to our stay. This was our first experience with Best Western and now we try to stay in one wherever we go.

The nicest BW I've stayed in. Great location. Staff...Fantastic. Skye Rest is one of the in town, if not the best. My room very comfortable. I love that it had "real" coffee mugs and glasses. Beautiful flowers and grounds. Can't wait to stay again. Kudos

We have just completed our fourth or fifth stay at this great hotel. Highly recommend it to travelers with pets. The staff is very helpful, going out of their way to assist. We always eat at the restaurant and have never had anything but outstanding food. The rooms are comfortable and clean.

Hotel was very nice with friendly staff. The breakfast was very good with an assortment of options for every appetite. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel was very much like the pictures and better. We had a suite type room which included a living room off of the main sleeping area. plenty of room to relax.
