This is not a Best Western Plus. The towels too small and thin even the pool towels were thin and sparingly given out . I would not choose to stay again. The entryway to the room was a tight squeeze Breakfast and Coffee were below average Although, The bed as comfortable and the room was clean.
Highly recommend this nice, well run motel. Very comfortable stay. Exactly as hoped for. Will return for my future trips to the Toledo area. Close to restaurants, gourmet grocery store. Maumee/Perrysberg is a lovely area with great parks, river access, and charming shopping areas.
A very nice property with friendly and helpful staff! Check in was speedy and I felt valued as a BW rewards member. Our room was clean and comfy. Good breakfast options and a comfortable breakfast area. This was our first time to the area, and we will return!
We chose this hotel sight unseen but it was the best decision ever, place was immaculate, staff super friendly and professional. Next visit to Maumee we will definitely stay again
We paid extra for a balcony. It was over the indoor pool. It smelled, was hot, and kids clean better
I never leave a review but this place was great for the price and the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Nice fitness center and pool. Clean rooms. Fresh hot breakfast. 10/10 would stay again!
We drove 2 hours so my daughter could use her tickets she earned from Girl Scouts for the Toledo zoo. We chose to stay at best western because we've never had issues. Until this best western stay. Front desk staff were rude. We were told we didn't have to check in when we got there. Rooms were not clean. Dust everywhere. Bathroom door was covered with so much dust you could leave a hand print in it. Remote to tv didnt turn on the tv. Carpet was dirty Stains on the blankets. Pool is not heated. It's very cold and also is salt water. Pool towels are at the front desk but they don't tell you that. Worst stay ever.
I was here for a fastpitch tournament from Canada. The staff check breakfast everything was awesome.
Plenty of parking. Always quiet. Rooms are comfortable. The down side of a stay here is the shower. The design is poor. You get wet trying to turn on the shower. It's 1/4 inch glass sliding door. This time it came off the frame, pinning me in the shower for a bit as I was trying to get out, while it was on my feet. Other than that the room is clean and the bed is great. Breakfast is good, no healthy options. Bob Evans restaurant next door. I stay here a few times a year.
Another successful trip at a Best Western. This property is like a motel instead of a hotel but still comfortable and a good nights sleep. A well deserved rest after some snowy driving conditions through Ohio.
I stay at this hotel because it is convenient for work. Over the past 1.5 years it just keeps getting worse. Last visit even the hot water was just luke warm. Breakfast is old, staff is nonchelant and basically it seems they just keep cutting corners on cost
THE GROSSEST HOTEL IVE EVER SEEN. IT looks nothing like the photos provided here. Hair in the sinks, the shower, the bed. The bed sheet are old. And I means OLD AND tattered. They also have literal rips in them. The worst part was the fact that there was so much mold in the bathroom and in the room. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling by the sink and in the shower and also the curtains that cover the windows in the room. AND yes we looked at 4 rooms to try and see if we could find a better room and they were all the exact same. DO NOT EVER STAY HERE. and no it wasn't a small dot of mold. It was thick and clearly never treated. in fact the whole building must be oozing with BLACK MOLD. Please don't go you'll get sick. We ended up going elsewhere is was that bad.
I chose this hotel based off reviews and I'll NEVER stay again. The room had multiple broken items, and dirty liens left. Broken tub, manger informed me it was because of a mold problem so the jets had to be shut off. The manger also decided that her and another co worker who was just lounging around would much rather talk ill of co workers instead of helping me. Highly inappropriate and just dirty.
We needed a place after a long drive that was pet friendly and close to the interstate. Front desk clerk was friendly and helpful and quick with the check in process. Room was small but clean and comfortable. We will stay here again when we are in the area.
Nice hotel, we were greeted as members which was nice. The room was nice and met our needs. I was worried since I had read some bad reviews about the hotel and told the desk person up front. They reassured us that the rooms were clean. We saw a professional cleaning crew at breakfast, but didn't know if they were staying there, or the cleaning crew.
Unsafe and not clean. The halls and elevator smelled of marijuana all the time. The side entrance door to the hotel never locks. The pool area furniture is dirty and broken. The breakfast was not good. My bath towels had blood stains on the. The rooms had a mildew stench. My room deadbolt did not work. I have stayed at best western hotels for over 20yrs and this was my worst experience. We could not sleep with constant slamming of doors
The BW rooms ripped stained carpets 4 out the 5 rooms I was shown. Moldy and stained sheets 4 out of the 5 rooms. Moldy shower stalls, broken shower door track in room 202. Noisy guests the night clerk even mentioned that they had been think about evicting the people in 201 and a few other rooms they had already been there for 3 days and disrespectful of all other guests. Was even threatened by 1 of 8-10 people that kept going in and out of room 201.
Great value, very clean and the customer service is top notch! Breakfast exceeded my expectations. The hot breakfast was filling and tasty. DeeDee our breakfast attended embodies customer service. Every morning she wished our girls luck on their softball tournament and even made waffles for those struggling with the waffle maker. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
The staff is great, rooms are clean and stocked, and the price is right. The pool is clean and comfortable, and the location is great. The breakfast is hot and delicious and plentiful with great staff taking care of it. I will for sure stay again and always recommend this hotel.
We loved staying there, in fact we always try and stay at Best Westerns. The front desk greeter was EXTREMELY pleasant, which always means a lot to us, the room was spacious and clean, and breakfast OK.
We pulled in late after making a reservation, we were greeted warmly and professionally. Lobby was clean and tidy. Our room was spotlessly clean and everything in good working order. We got a good night's rest, very quiet. Plenty of parking too and we'll lit.
The spongy shower floor had a crack in it with brown ammonia smelling liquid seeping through the crack when stepped on. The breakfast time is too short, leaving guests hungry, standing and angry with staff and each other. The management doesn't listen to guests that complain...they just pretend the guests are lying to them. The tile floor in front of our sink was lifting up and cut my leg....but the hotel doesn't care! Don't stay here....it is not the best quality "Best Western."
Clean the carpet more often, our refrigerator didn't work, the door wouldn't close buy my husband didn't feel good and didn't want anyone coming in and out, so it wasn't reported. Also, a lot of handicapped people travel with someone with whom they don't share a bed with. It would be nice if 1 or 2 of the double queen bed would be handicapped assessable. Either a roll in shower or a seat across the tub that the handicapped person can get a shower.
This hotel was a litle further off the beaten path (I-75) than we thought, but it was okay for one night. There are nearly no walkable amenities in the vicinity - just a winery (overpriced and not great) with a patio and bistro attached, and a gas station. It looks like a good stop for truckers. The hotel itself is rather austere when you approach it - a box-like building with acres of pavement and virtually no landscaping. The inside. in keeping with the building shape, has long narrow hallways, so it is a long walk to the main area that has the registration, pool and breakfast room. Luckily, our room was by the back entrance and on the ground floor, so we did not have a long way to haul luggage to the room. Check-in was easy and friendly. Breakfast was standard fare, but included potatoes, donut holes and mini muffins....though we missed the biscuits and gravy after having spent the week further south. The gal in the breakfast area was very friendly and welcoming. The area had lots of seating and was clean. Despite the appearance of an older hotel, our room was clean and had been updated. The beds were comfortable,. the WiFi speed was excellent, while the toiletries and linen were good. The toilet (raised toilet seat when we arrived?) had trouble flushing. The raised bathroom sink was outside the main bathroom, and the room came with the usual mini-fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, desk with drawers and bench for a luggage rack. The coffee blend in the room "Cafe Italia" was excellent. We could hear noise and walking from the room above, though it didn't disturb our sleep..The hotel also had an inside pool by the front desk - we didn't use it, but it did look inviting. We'd stay again in a pinch, but would prefer a locale with more nearby restaurants.
We stayed here for two night so we could check out the zoo near by. Cons: So the Rooms where too small, pool was dirty, the front desk night crew was not nice and the breakfast was not great at all. Pros: rooms seemed quit We will not stay here again
Beds not too comfortable, pillows small and too soft. Shower did not drain and fixture was off the shower wall. The first room we were assigned had smelly carpet and an A/C unit that buzzed when the compressor kicked in. The second room was nicer and had wood floors and a very quiet A/C unit. The side door to the hotel did not lock - but we felt pretty safe in this area and the hotel was quiet for sleeping. Breakfast was just ok. It is a good area close to things and not too far from the highway.
We are Best Western reward members so we stay at a few, and more we travel a lot and stay at many lodging chains - and this was the worst. I can't see how Best Western can keep their name affiliated with it. The shower handle in our room pulled out from the wall. The floor of the shower was cracked, and bubbled up and wavy. The minute we walked in the room you could tell that the AC filter had not been changed or cleaned recently as the smell permeated the room. Because it was difficult to find, using GPS is difficult because the hotel is behind another building at the address, it was late and we did not change rooms. Got up for breakfast and sat down and the table was wobbly, uneven floor or legs. We told the front desk about the problems when we arrived but they did not volunteer to clean/change the filter. We mentioned the table and they didn't even write it down. Neither the room or the breakfast, in addition to what I have mentioned, had any redeeming values that would overcome this shortcomings. Never again, and BW be warned for future lodging. BTW, I filled out the email survey that usually follows a stay and never heard back from them. That speaks volumes.
Nice people but poor facility. Not overly clean. Door locks could be improved. Location was excellent and the pool was welcoming on a very hot day. Our service dog was accommodated with no question. Tv worked
We stayed two different nights in two different rooms. The king suite on the first floor was fine except for a slow sink. But the double queen room on the second floor was not properly cleaned and in need of repair. The bathtub faucet is coming away from the tub wall and the caulk used to try to repair it was dripping into the drain. The shower curtain had pink mold along the bottom. The shower faucet handle needs to be replaced and was very difficult to turn on and dripped when turned off. The gross trash had not been emptied and a dirty nightgown was left behind the bathroom door. The carpeting was worn and dingy. It seems apparent that the owner and management don't want to invest in basic room maintenance and aren't checking on the rooms to make sure they are properly cleaned.
The windows and the side door to the outside could not be locked at all! There were kids loitering outside. The water in the shower wouldn't drain. Breakfast was pretty bad. The wall paint also needs some work.
This place was filthy, had an extreme MOLD problem and wreaked of pot! We will never stay at a Best Western again. Felt unsafe as well. We literally did everything possible to only sleep in the room. Never toke off our shoes unless we showered, then we kept on our flip flops. Broken pipes in our sink, carpets disgusting, bugs, hair all over the floors, trash left in our room and so on. GROSS, GROSS, GROSS!
Rooms was disgusting and we didn't stay but still got charged for both rooms. Manager blamed staff for human error on the cleanliness. Says we didn't give a chance to have them correct it. Not interested in staying at a facility like that
This is a rather old hotel with a few modern updates. While it's true that they offer hot breakfast, they use fake eggs and cheap products in general. I stayed there 3 nights and breakfast was the exact same thing every day. I would not stay there again.
When we checked into the room that wasn't a latch on the door to keep people from coming in, in the shower there was toilet paper on the wall and black hair on the wall and neither one of us had long black strands of hair just filthy. Complain to the front desk put us in another room in the second row there was a hole in the door not a hold you can see through nevertheless at all and black stuff behind the toilet in the bathroom look like mold very terrible experience will never go back.
Room was not very clean. There were socks and other items left behind from others, several cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, glass rings on the bedside table had not been cleaned. Bed was uncomfortable--mattress worn and had a big dip in it. Was more like a stay at a cheap motel than what I expect from Best Western.
Room was unsanitary with body hair in unclean sheets. The key access needed to be repaired which caused difficulties accessing the room. A staff member told me that it would be repaired but it wasn't. It took about ten minutes of playing with the door and key access to get into the room. There was dust and funk on surfaces in the room as well as some ramen noodle packets behind the entertainment stand.
this was not a great hotel, the check in process was ok the lady was really nice. They didnt make sure that parents were watching the kids in the pool. the breakfast was really bad they ran out of coffee and not enough options for breakfast foods.
We chose this location because of the pool amenity. However, the pool was like an ice box and we couldn't enjoy it for even one minute. The staff said they could not adjust the temperature and that it was set for 80 degrees. Clearly the pool heater was broken. Also the continental breakfast closed more than a half hour earlier than they told us it would so we didn't get breakfast.
We have stayed at this hotel once before on our way back after wintering in Texas. The hotel is a little tired and the main reason that we stayed here again is due to a great Asian restaurant nearby. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. The desk clerk upon arrival was very friendly but the night clerk seemed to be more interested in her phone than helping to fix the TV problem. We were disappointed during this visit due to the bad internet connection that we experienced, (it kept cutting in and out), and the TV which didn't get any reception due to a bad wire connection. Would we stay here again. Not sure unfortunately.
Typically I am not one to give reviews or give too much credence to them. This time, however, most of the reviews are accurate reflections of this facility. The maintenance is severely lacking, the cleanliness is terrible, the rooms are cramped, and the smell of smoke is obnoxious. This hotel having a BW label is an insult to the brand.
Great stay and welcoming staff. Refreshing. Cannot say enough for how accommodating the manager Stephanie and her associates are when asked questions. Will always stay here when Im in town. Traveling for business is not enjoyable but they make it worthwhile in terms of places to stay.
The hotel proved adequate for a quick one-night stay but wasn't up to the usual Best Western standards. The room was not very clean (spots on table tops, e.g.) the bathroom sink ran very slow and the hot/cold fixtures were reversed (?) On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and we could easily adjust the room temperature. The breakfast was pretty basic...the eggs tasted counterfeit and the toasters (tried 2) burned one side of the bread and left the other raw. Hotel staff sat nearby and played on their phones and then complained -- loudly -- about salaries. I know things are tough these days but.... not a pleasant morning for us as guests. Truth in advertising: we had bonus coupons which made the stay very economical. Still, we had higher hopes for such a brand name chain.
I went for self care& didn't receive that. First there was a used band-aid next to the place you sit in the jacuzzi tub. Then after I slept in the bed and separated the sheet from the comforter. I found vomit or some dried body substance on the top of the comforter, where it would have rubbed on my face if I would have slept on that side. Totally nasty! The manager didn't want to listen to my concerns & didn't refund my money. I won't be back.
I have an hour commute to work we had gotten some bad weather i did not feel safe driving home so i booked a room this was a nice place to stay my only complain is the microwave in my room did not work other than that it was fine clean room comfy bed super friendly staff i would suggest this hotel to any one
Grandson wanted a pool party.. everything was great until we noticed the drug deals going on in hallways..and as we walked to the pool the hallways smelled like marijuana the hotel was clean receptionist was nice
We had a late check in , on a trip home from Detroit to Nashville. All in all hotel was clean and nicely decorated. our room was clean by all appearances , I travel a lot , so i check the beds first thing.. we discovered that the sheets hadn't been changed at minimal since the last guest.. there was pieces of leaves , and lint down at the foot like someone with dirty socks had been in the bed , the sheets weren't "crisp" and the pillows and edges of the covers had literal dirt from body oils .. we had a late check in and early check out before getting back on the road , fortunately we carry our own blanket and pillows so we stripped the bed and slept on the cover sheet. It was disappointing that such an obvious cleaning aspect of the room/s is neglected , really makes you start to wonder about other parts.. I love staying at BW , especially while traveling.. I can trust their standards are high and we will have a nice place to stay , if it's a get a way , traveling with my children or for work.. but this particular hotel has some checking in on housekeeping that needs to be done .
My husband and I checked in and were given our room number and key. Hauling our bags down the dingy smelling hallway, we made it to our assigned room. Upon opening the door to a strangely dark room, we were then greeted with a strangers voice coming from the bed. Houston, we have a problem. We double checked the room number and indeed, we did have the right room. After alerting the lady at the front desk of the mix up, we were assigned a new room. Thankfully, there were no occupants in this one but the cleanliness of the room was appalling. There were urine stains and hair in the shower. Drink stains on all of the dresser surfaces. The ice box was disgusting. A hand print on the mirror. I asked for cleaning supplies, which were provided (industrial strength which requires gloves, which were not provided), and cleaned the room myself bc after hours on the road in snow and being shuffled around rooms already, we were just done. The walls are thin and we could clearly hear the parenting style of the mother next door. The TV didn't work… apparently they are aware of this too. No discounts were offered for the truly awful experIence. The lady at the front desk was very nice, however, I highly recommend you find anywhere else to stay. I should have taken more pictures.
First time I have stayed at a BW in years. Very pleased with the room and staff. Did not get to try breakfast because I worked all night and was asleep but the coffee was good. Would definitely stay here again even with my children.
Wish I had listened to the reviews and not stayed at this disgusting overpriced hotel. Dirty, stained, mismatched towels, stained carpets, no trash can besides in the bathroom, dirty bed. Literally everything you wouldn't want in a hotel.
Great customer service! Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Location is good. Lots of places to eat nearby and close to Toledo. The rooms were clean. Hallways and vending rooms were kept hot. A/C in room worked fine. Bed was comfortable. Will say at this location again.
Usually stay with a different hotel chain decided to try BW and regretted it the moment we stepped in the room. Smoke detector broken off wall and laying on floor, garbage in ice bucket, dirty towel left hanging on door, TV broken. Called front desk and was told no one was available to fix anything because of the time of night (we did check in late - 11:00 pm) Eggs at breakfast were over cooked and very watery. Waffle maker was clogged up because another guest did not use properly but the breakfast attendant didn't correct situation for over 30 minutes...gave up on having waffles. Room was dirty and had large sections of paint that were cracked and peeled off.
This was one of the worst rooms I have ever seen. The showers were horrible. Very gross walking into. The carpets were dirty. The sheets were stained. The hallways stunk and the rooms were very muggy. Everything seemed so wet even as we had the air on. I would never come to this Best Western again.
Great front desk staff, very friendly with checking in taking less than five minutes. Very convenient to I90 with a lot of dining options nearby. An excellent value after the pandemic when the other brands were double the price.
Bathroom door did not shut, was very dirty, found dog food on floor. There was unknown red substance behind bathroom door. Air filter in air conditioner was THICK with dust and had to have itcleaned. Light bulb in lamp was flickering and had had have that replaced. Clair in room had crumbs in creases. Hallways had no air conditioning, was very hot throughout hotel. Feel so bad for staff to have to work there. There were people vaping in pool area. But when asking for towels for pool got Spanish inquisition as to why we needed so many. Had someone swearing/yelling in front lobby during check out for smoking in room fee. Had to go through hotel to use another door to get my kids out of hotel. Due to covid they do not offer housekeeping for multiple nights. Breakfast lady did a great job considering how busy it was.
Good clean hotel located easily off the highway and not far from many locations and attractions. In a very safe area of town with food close and within walking distance. Staff were very caring and hard working. Rooms seemed clean and well maintained. Hallways were recently upgraded but had a bit of an odor and we're warm due to a lack of air in the halls. Room temps were great. Wish the hotel had a hot tub to go with the pool but overall a good budget hotel in a safe area close to many local attractions and dining.
Conveniently located just off of I475 this is a perfectly suitable hotel for families and travellers in general. The room was clean and bright. Restaurants were some distance (not walkable) but not inconvenient.
The whirlpool tub was the main reason for the stay. It was nice and relaxing. As soon as I checked in I needed to change the sheets due to stains and hair left behind. I woke up to over moisture in the room. It was damp and had a sweaty smell. It satisfied the purpose for the stay, but I won't be back.
Well, it's pretty rare for me to give anyplace, let alone a BW 1 star. But this is one of them. Chiefly because of the mold in the shower. Don't get me wrong, nearly everything else was anywhere from so-so to really? But the mold clinched it. It was so late when we got in, and there really wasn't anything else available, so we went ahead and showered, paying very close attention to making sure our feet were clean. I'm not an expert, so I can't say it was the dreaded "black mold". But it was mold, and it was black. We brought this up with the desk clerk when we left. She said she would talk to the manager a refund. I told her I wasn't looking for a refund, just an adjustment. That was on July 30. This is being written 3 days later, and haven't heard anything. Now, I'm thinking at least a 50% refund.
If you are choosing a hotel, this one is fair. The hotel was clean; but, the surrounding traffic made getting a good nights sleep a challenge. My choice may be different when selecting a hotel the next time I pass through. In my opinion, the modernization effort of this hotel needs to focus on sound deadening. The hotel appeared to be dated and in my opinion, needs to be updated. The checkout was easy and overall it made the experience fair to average.
If I could give negative stars, I would. When opening our door the room was an overwhelming smell of mold. When we went to open the open window there was no screen. The bathroom (tub, lack of tile, etc.) mold was all over the wall. The drain didn't work as in it literally just pulled up. It was clear the only thing cleaned in the room before us just the sheets (hopefully). The fridge didn't work properly. The hot breakfast that was supposed to start at 7am was late. When it was finally ready, it was horrendous. It was out of nearly half of everything and there wasn't even coffee when we were there. I would have complained but I heard so many other people complaining and no one seemed to do anything, so I just decided to not waste my time.
First time I've ever checked out right after checking in and that was at 10:00pm. Room was very dirty. Gross stuff on carpet that I can't believe they didn't clean up. When I pulled the vinyl privacy curtain shut I noticed some black stuff. The entire back was covered in black mold. When I told front desk clerk she said “Eww that's gross” and gave a bunch of lame excuses for why reservation couldn't be cancelled/refunded but she finally did. That late at night it was hard to find another available hotel nearby but finally found nicer, cleaner, and cheaper one. Actually might report to health department.
We checked in on a Tuesday. When we walked into the room it had food and crumbs all over the desk and tv counter. We cleaned. But then we looked at the bedding it was horrible. Dirty and black all over it. Found a earring and hair all in the bed. Went down to the desk and asked for someone to come clean it and fix the tv. They only got the tv to work. We asked for clean bedding and was told we don't have the staff to do it. So we asked for it and changed it ourselves. Then we found clothes in the drawers from previous guest. Everytime we asked for it to be cleaned or new towels it wasn't done. We had to do it ourselves. Wanted to check out but wouldn't refund the stay. So I went and bought cleaning supplies to clean myself. Staff was to worried about going out to smoke then take care of the guest. This place is horrible. Got a 20 dollar discount for doing their job all week long. What a joke.
First, we had to be moved to a different room because ants were coming out of our ventilation unit. We traveled with a group and two others in the group reported bugs in their room also. When we were walking out of our room the next morning to check out, we saw bags of frozen sausages laying on the floor by the front desk. Sadly these are likely the ones that we're going to be served for breakfast. The front desk clerk, though we didn't have an issue with her personally, we witnessed her being rude to other staff members and even guests. All in all a terrible experience for what you pay.
Stains on room floor, lamp shade, comforter, door handle broke off, drains clogged, old checkin/checkout systems. The pool opens at 12pm, so if you don't want to swim with kids, you're out of luck. Room rate $168. Should be more like $90
Good choice when travelling through or visiting. Updated property, excellent pre-check-in experience and check out. Good WiFi connection. Close to some good places to eat and sight see. It's on our list when travelling North on I-75.
The hotel is a 2 star hotel, so you need to go with proper expectations. But the hair on the bed (that greeted us upon arrival) and the hair in the bath tub (before we used it) is not acceptable. It can be an older hotel but still clean. You've got to clean the rooms properly, even if it is an older building. The ceilings are thin. Nothing can really be done about it now, that was how the building was constructed. You can hear everything upstairs, and the people above us were walking a marathon in their room. The breakfast waffle maker was broken, but there were breakfast sandwiches you could heat up.
Bugs were in our room, and in the jacuzzi every time we ran water in it! The manager Stephanie was about as useful and accommodative as a tow truck with no tow! Offered FIVE percent off my next visit! That doesn't even cover taxes! Needless to say there will be no "next visit!"
Terrible place to stay. 1--the carpet was dirty and had cigarette burns 2--the security lock was broken 3--handle on shower was not fully attached 4--the door hanle only worked in one direction 5--NO hairdryer, even though the web site says there is a hairdryer. When I asked about hairdryer, the lady said they had given them all out. I told her I guess I would have to go buy one. She said no you don't. I was there for a funeral and had to have a hairdryer. I went and bought one for $55. 6--rude check in people. 2 people to check in one person. Checked out a day early and am waiting to make sure i wasn't charged for 3 days.
Poor check-in service, problems with booking more than one group in a room, toilet needed to be flushed two and three times to just get water and paper down, walls paper thin heard everything around you and people above you. Really disappointed in Best Western. Always thought of them as a good hotel not anymore.
Not willing to work with customers at all, no resolution given because wrong date booked, even though they were called to RESCHEDULE not cancel the reservation! Lost money and didn't get a room on the night needed even though it was available!!
Rooms not clean at all, front line staff was rude and price was high for lack of quality. The best thing I did was leave day 1 of 3 night stay. This includes multiple stains on floor and bedding, light in the room did not work, odor in the room, door did not open correctly, hair in bathroom...just to name a few things.
Stayed the night but we weren't pleased with the cleanliness of the room or the breakfast offerings, worst of our trip. The good part of this trip was the front desk person who was very kind and helpful!
The updated rooms were lovely, and you get great amenities for the price. There is a spacious indoor pool. There are prepackaged meals for purchase in the lobby, which I appreciate. My husband and I were there because I had an out-of-state medical appointment. We got a king jacuzzi room with the hopes that I could soak my aching body in hot water for symptom relief. The jacuzzi was huge! I was so pleased, as the jacuzzi was rectangular in shape and big enough for two adults with room to spare (a lot of hotels have cramped triangular whirlpools in the rooms). We will definitely be staying here every time we have to make the trip to see my doctor.
Had not stayed at a Best Western in a long time, the price was good, but the neighbors in the same floor and also in the floor upstairs were very loud. My family and I couldn't sleep well, both nights our front neighbor and from other rooms were speaking really loud in the hallways, almost yelling at 2 am (seems they were coming back from a party) and again around 4 am (heading to their individual rooms?). And also the neighbors above us. We complained the next morning, and then again during the 2nd night, but seems the people didn't care if they were being to loud. Very bad experience! Will not stay at that same hotel ever, and may be also not at a Best Wester hotel.
We traveled to this Best Western for a dance competition in Maumee, Ohio. Upon arrival, the entire lobby, elevator, first and second floor smelled strongly of marijuana. We had been informed that the people smoking had been removed from the premises only minutes prior. The smell remained for the entire visit. I traveled with my children and three other families. One of the families we traveled with was given a different room than the one she had purchased, and upon entering found a comforter on the bed that looks like a crime scene. When we went down to dinner, there was vomit in the elevator that was covered by a “ caution floor is wet“ sign, so clearly the employees knew that it was there, but just had not cleaned it up. When we arrived back from dinner, there were several gentleman in the stairwells smoking cigarettes. We were trying to take the stairs instead of the elevator, for fear of it smelling like vomit or that it had yet to be cleaned up. We ended up taking the elevator. I went to the front desk to inform them that there were people smoking in the stairwell, which they claimed to know nothing about even though I could clearly see the activity on the monitor behind the gentleman I was speaking with, and they told the man that they needed to leave the hotel room. For the next several hours, there was swearing, loud music and shouting in the hallway of the people that were being “kicked out”. It felt unsafe, not to mention extremely frustrating. There was no coffee left in the morning, and the night prior there were no clean/dry towels in the pool area for several hours. I would not recommend staying here, especially if you are looking for a place for your family to sleep.
First of all I realized I should have believed the negative reviews of this place to begin with. Check in actually was pleasant but from there it went downhill quickly. Room was disgusting, dirty, torn carpet, sink hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long, stains on bedding, windows were filthy, curtains stained, everything old and outdated, and the hallways reeked of marijuana. I arrived to my room to find the room next door had the music so loud that it was shaking the walls and bed in the room. Requested a refund immediately and since it was booked through booking.com I was ineligible to speak directly to the hotel staff for a refund. Opted to change rooms until I could speak to a manager and wasting hours on the phone with booking.com. Second room was cleaner. Thank goodness, but the tv did not work and the shower didn't drain. The next morning I spoke with the front desk who informed me to get a refund for the second night I would need to speak to the manager. She would be in at 10am. I called at 10:30 as I had yet to receive a call and then was informed that she was unavailable and to call back at 2pm. I had enough!! Called corporate Best Western and got a wonderful lady to help create a ticket for this horrible experience. Still have yet to hear from Stephanie (the manager of Best Western Maumee) but she had her front desk associate call instead. Stephanie, I will be contacting corporate again to express my concerns yet again as you could not call directly. Never, again will I stay at a Best Western! And shame on you and you lack of customer service.
My family's experience here was terrible. Room was tiny, dirty, thermostat was broken, the curtains wouldn't close all the way so light was coming in from the pool all night, as well as the strong smell of chlorine. And this was a room that was advertised as a suite! The desk attendant was really unnecessarily rude and wouldn't change our room even though it was clearly not the same as the one pictured on the website. I've never left a bad review for any other place but this one is really really terrible.
The jacuzzi suites we got for my birthday smelled of stale smoke for a job smoking room shower had hair that was not ours staff was always without mask and would only put one on when realized after finally looking up to acknowledge that I had one on. Housekeeping wore them as chin diapers. Refused to deliver towels to our room but we were only given 3 towels to a jacuzzi suites so obviously going to need more.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I was trying to stay within a budget being that it was just after the holiday's but I learned a valuable less with this stay and I will never make that mistake again.
Room was sparsely furnished, toilet ran well into the night until I turned off the intake valve, the tv volume was low, even at 100 it was the normal volume of an average tv. Personal at the desk were a little hard to understand due to their ethnicity. Found numerous other places to stay later in the day with better rates.
I booked 6 rooms. Kristina at the front desk was able to upgrade my room to a suite for an amazing price. All the rooms were very nice and clean. The suite was AMAZING! It comfortably accommodated the 8 people I came with. The pool was relaxing and pool area was clean. The staff has friendly especially Kristina. Anytime I had a question she never made me feel like I was bothering her. My entire stay great and we plan on going back just to relax next month.
Place is not clean Best Western Gold Member. Place is not clean and employees do not follow CDC guidelines, after staying here we stayed at Marriott and Hilton Properties for the rest of our trip. Very disappointed with Best Western as there are my go to Brand. It will be awhile before staying at another Best Western based on e this one. The "Grab and Go" Breakfast consisted of a hand made sandwich and mini muffin wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in a Brown paper bag. I threw it way. I am convinced at if my wife and I contract Covid from our trip it will be because we stayed here.
We had to call for towels for the next day. The TV did not work. The breakfast was 2 pieces of white bread & a tiny roll. They had P&J for the bread. The 2 other BW we stayed in prior in the week were much, much better. The room was clean & the people were nice.
I never write reviews, but here we go. We stay in Best Western's when we travel due to being Diamond Select Reward members however this was the worst experience I've had at a BW. We stayed in a king suite in an extremely busy hallway. There must have been at least 4 large families staying on the same floor near our room. The hallways were filled with trash, towels, kids running around, and it wreaked like weed. We had our two month old baby with us which concerned me because of how loud these families were being. The room smelled like weed as well. We actually had to put towels by the base of the door because it (the weed smell) was coming into our room. The air conditioner also didn't seem to work well. In the AM I noticed a huge red stain on the comforter that looked like spilled koolaid or red soda. Of course I didn't notice it when we got there because the comforter had a decorative runner across the foot of the bed, so I felt gross knowing we slept in filth. Under the bed was trash from previous tenants also. With everything going on with Covid-19, I feel as if this hotel is not taking better precautions with their hotel and should really look into improving their cleanliness and sanitizing better. In addition to this, there were women fighting in the parking lot. On a positive note, the women working the front desk were friendly. I can say that most likely I will not stay here again.
Disgusting experience. The elevator was broken, hallways reeked of pot, our original room was locked from the inside (it was late at night & it appeared the front desk person had many friends/family staying in various rooms), our second room had trash in the can and empty soda bottles under the bed. We checked out an hour ago and we still have the horrible hotel smell in our car.
Between the smell of weed, the desk attendant who sat on her phone the whole time, the broken door that was never fixed when I asked, the stolen North Face hoodie by the housekeeper, the fire alarms that went off and the fire department having to come, the attendant who was more concerned about her $200 till then the people staying in the hotel, and the list goes on and goes. I would never recommended this hotel to anyone.
Stopped for a one night stay. Room was clean and Wi Fi was very good. Great location with plenty of places to eat close by. With all the COVID-19 stuff they did a great job. Will definitely stay here again if we are passing through.
We checked in around 10:30pm during our road-trip and had an efficient, friendly check-in. The building, including the pool area, was clean and well taken care of. The room was well appointed and I realize during a road-trip any bed is a good bed; however these beds were excellent! clean bathrooms, good wifi, good frig and nice television too. Our room was second floor double queen properly priced for around $100. Just a personal note on room selection, our room being second floor you could hear the heavy-footed folks on third, so maybe third floor may be a good choice for our next stay.
Smell of weed... Was told couldn't listen. To low music on phone and was told to turn it off...others was listening to louder music and wasn't told nothing....was ate up from something and now can't stop iching wasn't like that before.... I have stayed before and it was nice but not this time...I asked for handicap room and was told they didn't have any and had a ruff time getting mom in bed she is wheel chair bound...
This was an extremely smelly hotel with rude and inconsiderate staff who did not wear masks, barking dogs and running water in our guest room - all these factors contributed to this terrible experience.
The shower is slippery without a grab bar inside. There os a grab bar, but it is on the outside of the door. This shower is similar to one in a Best Western we visited in Erie PA two nights ago, but in that one the door opening was at the shower head end, which allowed you to reach in and adjust water temp, at this motel you have to stand in the, at first ice cold, water as you adjust for temperature. There are four narrow no -skid strips installed, but they are very far apart, thus useless. I believe that the shower door panal was designed to have the grab bar on the inside of the shower, but the design of the bathroom has the toilet bu the showerhead end of the shower, so the installation put the only thing to grab, which is the door handle at the far end of the shower, thus useless unless you shower with the door wife open. Management needs to get more nonskid strips installed as well as a functional grab bar or two. Two other concerns are the lack of a decent size towel for drying off after shower and the low level lighting at the “bathroom” sink, which is in the main room, there is a nice looking, but low intensity, accent lite behind the mirror and a low intensity light above, but combined they are not sufficient for male face shaving or application of face makeup. As a final insult, there was no list of TV channels in the room, my Wife did get one from the Front Desk, being told that she was being given their last one. Finally, the hallway noise is not muffled at all, noises of usual hallway activity seem to be amplified. The management should hire an acoustics engineering firm and make modifications or advertise that the motel has a free “wake up service”, totally random as to when it occurs, but when it occurs there is a guarantee that you will wake up!
My husband and I stayed two weekends in a row...enjoyed the room so much the first time that we requested it the second weekend. Check in was fine ,but went downhill from there. Loud party across the hall from us,...yelling obcenities , smoking, and running down hall and slamming doors. At 1AM we finally had enough and called front desk to complain. Nothing was done until police showed up at 4AM. When packing up to leave at 8AM after 4 hours of sleep, opened fridge to find food from previous people. When we tried to complain to manager was told there was nothing they could do. Didn.t care as long as they got our money. Will stay elsewhere next time.
My wife and I stayed overnight just to rest and relax and soak in the hot tub! It was refreshing! Check in and out was great, friendly staff! Bed was comfy, quiet relaxing stay! There are plenty of restaurants in the area! The Maumee Antigue Mall is worth visiting, big antigue mall with plenty of booths!
Obviously with the pandemic going on the pool and breakfast was not an option. But the employees were all friendly. They did offer to go bags for breakfast which was nice. The room was amazing. Had a great nights sleep.
Pros: good price. Bed is comfy. Some minor revisions make the room look modern. Great amenities for the price- microwave and refrigerator. Nice customer service. Cons: no laundry available. Towels look and feel old, need new towels. Bathroom paint a bit outdated. Bathroom tub not cleaned well. Has remnants of previous guests hair. Side table still had condensation from previous guests' drinks.
Our visit last year was disapointing. This year this location is up to Best Western standards. Friendly efficient checkin. Small clean room with comfortable bed. Pool warmer than last year. Breakfast much improved and as advertised..
Looked like a nice place til we checked in. The motel reeked of marijuana and all in the elevator EVERYONE was complaining. The cops showed up and searched all rooms to finally find the suspect. The room was filthy we found left behind socks and used underwear from a previous stay. The tub grab bar was broke off and water all going behind tub can imagine the mold behind the tub unit. The tv didnt work and was supposed to be repaired but never was. The door would not shut we had to lift it to even close. One of the worst motels we have ever stayed traveling I would NEVER RECOMMEND IT!
We only stayed here one night, honestly, if we were staying longer, we may have gone somewhere else. Let me also say, I got a GREAT price and I did book early. The place was clean and staff was friendly enough, breakfast was good, your ordinary free-breakfast-hotel fare. Plenty of free parking. When we first arrived, kids were running up and down the halls & playing in the elevators. Seems like there were a lot of kids staying here this weekend. I did find old gum crusted into our carpeting and a broken handle on a "fake" drawer. It's most likely broken because it looks like a drawer and everyone pulls on it to see what's inside. Our thermostat worked great. The think that bothered me the most was how slippery the shower floor was in the shower...and to top it off, there were no shelves in the shower for a place to put your soap and shampoo. You needed to put it on the floor. I'm not sure I've ever seen that in a hotel. So, if I were staying for ONE night again & got a great price....I would stay here. If not, I'm moving on.
My family and I just spent an overnight here. I needed a snack that night, and there is a gas station with convenience store very close by (walkable if weather permits.) There are also several restaurants and even a grocery store nearby. The pool is small, but very clean. Lots of seating for parents to watch kids swim. Breakfast is pretty good. They have the Belgian waffle maker, if your into those! The morning we were there, they also had breakfast sandwiches. There is an attendant for the breakfast area, she kept the area very clean and stocked. She can even help you with the waffle maker. The rooms have a microwave and fridge. We enjoyed microwave popcorn, and cold drinks while we watched a movie on TV, which is not always possible at a hotel! The bathroom in our room was really, really small. You may want to request an accessible room if you have any mobility issues. Full disclosure, we were there for a Sunday night and the hotel did not seem very full. I can see this hotel being less enjoyable on a busy holiday weekend. But, I would stay there again!
BED BUG ALERT!!!! there were bugs crawling across the pillows and the employee at the front desk informed me that it was not the first time it had happened. As well as the fact that the manager and the owner do nothing about it. On top of that the entire first floor smelled like weed and cigarettes. If I could give this a 0 I would.
So me and my husband comes here often and usually our stay is great but today was extremely terrible. We checked in around 6pm and within 20 minutes in our room we had kids playing on our door knocking and leaving twice. I went to the front desk and the guy that was working that night (02/15/20) was nice and moved us into a different room. The next day in the morning around 9am our power went out and my husband spoke to the a housekeeper (Sara) and she informed the lady at the front desk (Karey) what happened. The power never came back on and Sara informed Karey that it's still not coming back on. Karey then said well they were going to check out anyways so and then Sara got off the phone in our room and advise us to write on here because everything that she was saying to Karey was clearly going out the other ear. Me and my husband went downstairs early to check out and I informed Karey again what service we had at our stay. She then rudely say “well there was nothing I've could've done with the kids, I can not watch the halls all night” and then say “we upgraded you so I don't know what else you want me to do”. I chose to ignore her ignorance and told my husband to let's go. The 2 women behind us had the same problem and expressed it to us and then proceeded to complain to Karey. As I'm packing my things in the car I chose to go back in to ask the housekeeper her name because she was so sweet I'm noticing that Karey is becoming more rude to the ladies while they were expressing their horrible stay and Karey decided to threaten the 2 ladies that she was going to call the cops because she wanted them to leave. The ladies not once threaten her for Karey to feel unsafe but Karey felt the need to try to make the 2 guest leave after paying and staying there to call the cops to make them leave faster. So not only was Karey extremely rude to me and my husband but now I'm feeling like she racially discriminating guest and threatening them with the cops. This was by far the worst time I've ever had here and most likely going to be my last time going there. Someone needs to train Karey all over again because absolutely does not know how to handle guest.
Lovely property! It's the only place we stay when visiting the Toledo area. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is ok, nothing to write home about - typical mass-produced fare. Beds are outstanding; I'm scouring the internet now, looking for their comforters!
More than what I expected for the price. Nice rooms and staff was friendly and I had a good conversation with them. Nice selection for breakfast. Nice location also. Will definitely book again. Pool was a little small 3ft-5ft. Gym is awesome
I was in town for a funeral. I was booked for 2 nights. The first night there was a large group in the room above us. They had children running around all over while the parents smoked marijuana in the room and gave the entire hotel the smell. Made multiple complaints to front desk to no avail. Had to call the police. Left the next morning. Have yet to receive my refund...Lighting in rooms is poor and you can hear everything through the doors and walls. My room smelled like a dog had been in it. The only good thing I can say is the renovations look nice and modern. The front desk area was actually gorgeous. The manager that was there in the morning after the mess was super friendly and apologetic for what happened.
Our rating would have been a 1 if it wasnt for Kari and Angela. Our room was a King Suite that overlooks the indoor pool. While we expected people to be in the pool until midnight, we didnt expect adults to be singing and screaming until 1am. Then their children, 6 boys, ran havoc up and down the hallways knocking on doors, and disturbing many other guests. The curtains on the sliding door are too small and dont block the light from the pool from coming into our room. We also had to contend with a toilet that ran all night because the plug in the tank wasnt sealing and needs to be replaced, or turn the water to the tank off. The sleeper sofa where our grandson was sleeping had dirty sheets with candy wrappers, and cookie crumbs in it. The the internet cut in and out causing issues with the TV. Last of all the refrigerator had mold, dirt, and condensation water in the tray under the freezer. This spilled out on our items in the fridge, and resulted in the freezer freezing up and our ice cream melted all over the place. The lady in charge of breakfast stopped preparing food before 9:30 on Sunday Morning and there wasnt enough food to feed 1 person, let alone 4. She disappeared about 9:30am until 9:55am, and when she came back she turned off the lights and turned off the serving dishes. Very disappointing. But Kari and Angela went above and beyond to try and make things better for our stay. So they definitely need raises or a bonus for their extra effort. As a couple who travel to see their grandkids every month, we are trying to find a hotel that checks all the boxes so we can just make a standing reservation. Now we need to start checking other hotels in the area.
Pool area and pool was dirty and freezing. The temperature in the pool area should be warmer than the outdoors in the winter. The hall by the elevator smelled like urine. Kids were running the halls and slamming doors till 2 a.m on a good note employees were nice and beds were comfortable.
Hotel was easy to find. Front seat staff very friendly and helpful. Pool was full of kids so didn't use it fell asleep before it was adult only time. Room was good comfy bed walk in shower was a plus sink in the room was outside the toilet and shower the area was very nice a vessel sink was a nice touch. Room had a microwave and a refrigerator.... Breakfast was good eggs and sausage and a waffle maker and cereals and fruit and pastries so it was good. Not fancy but very good
Front desk person Eric was phenomenal. When the shift changed add a new person Crystal she was really rude and disrespectful to my daughters and myself. Other than that it was a great experience the lady in the breakfast area was phenomenal also her name is Dee.
My family and I decided to have a little stay away from home. Unfortunately we had a family emergency and weren't able to stay the night. We went to get our deposit back and the man at the front desk couldn't find it and told is the general manager picks and chooses who to take deposits from and so he couldn't say for sure if we paid one. He continued to get loud and even cussed at us telling us to call the f'ing police. I know it seems crazy but I have him on recording. I did end up having to call the police but due to Our emergency I wasn't able to wait for them to come. I'm so mad I loved this hotel but I will never go back! And I've already told so many people not to go there. It's a shame such a great hotel is getting ran by such trashy people. The general manager even refused to give me corporates number
Although the bed area and lobby are nice, the bathroom was filthy with actual pubic hairs on the floor. When I pointed this out to the staff the next day and asked for the floor to be cleaned while we were out, I was disgusted to find that evening that not only was the floor not cleaned, but housekeeping had not come at all. Add to the a backed up toilet and lukewarm shower water, and an unsympathetic and grumpy clerk upon check out and you can be sure we will not be coming back.
Worst costumer service I have received Karry the general manager was rude snobby and unprofessional . When speaking about the refund of my room when I was clearly told I could revive one through the second party I order through .
We actually stayed here twice- once on the way out to Minneapolis and 4 days later on the way back. Both times we checked in after 9pm. The male behind the desk was friendly and helpful, however, that first night, I swear the lobby and even our hallway reeked of weed. I've never smelled weed before in a hotel but in my job, trust me, I know what weed smells like. He also seemed a tad....aloof? I was willing to believe I could possibly be mistaken until our return trip when I did NOT smell it at all..and the hotel smelled fresh again. The lobby reeked of cigarette smoke though on check in. Someone needs a life adjustment. But the hotel is nice. Not fancy but well kept. No hot tub but the pool was nice and the kids loved it. The pool room was rather cool though making it feel cold. I cant say enough about the breakfast. As a young family, a large free breakfast is fantastic! So many great options- oatmeal, eggs, (not fake) sausage, waffle, donuts, sausage gravy, yogurt, muffins...fruit. Overall, totally fit our needs and Id stay again...but I'd have the manager check out that one employee for sure...
The hotel seems relatively new yet somehow a little dated. My room was freezing upon check-in & the shower door was unhappy to be moved as it let out a loud squeal. I was on a business trip and only needed this to sleep for the night so my needs were minimal. The room was adequate but the breakfast options were poor - I ended up grabbing a bite elsewhere.
This was a road trip stay over for us, so all we needed was a quiet room and a good bed. We got that! The property is well maintained and building in good condition. As we entered the lobby the pool sure looked inviting, but it was too late and we were back on the road first thing the next morning. Our room was nice. Clean. Quiet, until about 5am when it sounded like the garbage truck was emptying a dumpster nearby. Two things about the shower: with the fixed glass panel on the side of the water control and the shower head, it is impossible to turn on the shower without getting a cold drenching until you step back. Also, a little corner footrest would be a nice addition for ladies wanting to more easily shave their legs. Breakfast was to be at 6am. At that time the room was still dark, there was another guest sitting there waiting, and there was no food out. Maybe the breakfast preparer was late for work? In any event, there should be a plan B for unexpected circumstances. And also on the topic of employees, management should encourage a greater professional appearance at the front desk. The young man that checked us in was in jeans and a tee shirt. Although we arrived later in the evening, when we walked in there was no one at the front desk, and after a few minutes when someone walked up, I thought it was the maintenance man. Upon checkout in the morning, the young lady at the front desk was in yoga pants and sweatshirt.
Our rooms were very clean the amenities were great. The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was delicious. The hotel was easy to locate and in a good location. Where were minutes away from the restaurants and convenience stores.
Friendly staff, clean rooms. Pool area was a nice plus. Continental breakfast had the usual choices-- plus baked beans--an unusual, but welcome offering. Slightly out of the way if traveling I-80--but we will stay again.
Looked clean and nice. Got our key card and walked to go eat. Came to our room with our 2 small luggage pieces. Saw some ants crawling from under their room coffee pot. Killed them and took the pot down to the desk clerk. Showed her all the dead ants and gave her the pot. She said sorry and took the pit. Got up at night and saw ants crawling on the stands again. Set up the ironing board and put out suit cases on that. Went for breakfast and came back to ants coming in from under the front door, crawling on all the stands and up the walls. We were so discussed that we couldn't even take a shower. Hundreds of ants. At the front desk we showed her the napkins of dead ants and pictures I took. Suggested that they get Ehrlich back in for that disgusting room. She did take $20 off our bill but can tell you, we will never stay here again. No way, couldn't pay me to. Here are some of the pictures I took d Of the hundreds I killed and then just gave up. Ants were winning.
I picked this hotel based on the hotel website showing that it had a hot tub. When we arrived at the property, we find out that the hot tub had been removed. My better half has some back issues and he enjoys the benefits of the warmth of a hot tub.TOTALLY disappointment :( However, the pool was nice, and the water was pretty warm. The room was very clean and nice. The shower has no way of pre-warming the water, so you get a nice cold blast when you turn it on. I should mention it is a walk in shower with a glass wall by the handle. They have made really nice improvements to this location. Breakfast was the usual hot breakfast fare; seemed to be plenty available. The staff was friendly and helpful. **The pictures advertising the hot tub need to be removed from your photos on the website.**
Exceeded our expectations....Lovely Large room, complete with refrig. Lovely Breakfast, with hot foods as well as fruit, cereal and juices. Coffee 24 hrs/day :-)!!! Very friendly and Helpful staff. Pool area neat, clean and well maintained. Highly reccommend
Extremely disappointed. Not recommended. Definitely will never return there again. Room was lacking freshness and not spacious. Washroom so very small that it had the sink on the outside of that room. There was an awful unpleasant odour in the room.
Motel very average in appearance and below average in breakfast choices and staff helpfulness. No functioning internet during my one night stay. Although staff supposedly tried to fix router, it never became functional, evening or morning.
Dirty, bugs, poor management, false-advertisements, unreliable internet, etc... Found blood on our sheets. Found previous guest's earring on our sheets. Found bugs. All rooms stink, like bug spray or something. The entire hotel is like 85 to 100 degrees F. Internet WIFI is very unreliable--had to use Super 8's WiFi (LOL). Poorly managed business/establishment. Advertsed to have have a hot tub, but it's no longer installed. Advertised to have laundry facilities or service, but Front Desk reports that no laundry service is available. Room was so small we could hardly move around (Queen Room 203 -- We moved to a different room). Sink is in the middle of the room and can't get ready in morning without waking family up. Shower is ridiculous--literally have to step into the water stream in order to turn it on (so you get blasted with cold water while trying to turn it on.) Then, you have to wait (every bit of) 3 whole minutes before hot water is delivered to the shower. (Sr. Exec. Suite 201)
Very helpful staff and a very clean room, and the breakfast was good. this was my first time staying at this property but plan on staying there when ever i a in town. it is convenient to the highway and close to a lot of restaurants.
I am picky about hotel rooms and have stayed in an awful one for the same price. This room was VERY CLEAN, modern and accommodating. Only thing missing was bottled water for the coffee maker. However, they had coffee and hot water and tea at the front desk which is more than than 5 star hotels these days.
Very pleased maitance of hotel amazing..very nicely maitained must have a amazing maintenance team.. Staff was aight they need uniforms and name tags but overall great stay deff go back .. Nice rooms..
It was a nightmare , first morning at 8 am the door open lights come on woke us up, and shut the door, called the front desk no answer, wend down they tell me it was a mistake, and with no apologies , like nothing happened , we let go. Bathtub plugged up,took them tow hours to fix it, T.V did not work, again around 6:30 pm again some body open the door and barge in, my wife just getting out the shower ,we were terrified, go to the front desk , same thing they made a mistake and gave our room to another customer , Again like nothing happened with no apologies,Exercise room nothing work there , They should close that place
I live in Wisconsin and was still here when I got a phone call from the hotel at 10am if I was still coming. I said yea that I would be there in 8 hours. She said OK and hung up. Mind u, I made this reservation in April and paid for the room then. Well 8 hrs later we get to the hotel, and I check in and they said my credit card declined. I said that isn't right because when I booked the room it said it was paid for. They ran it again and it declined. So. What irritates me about this is that when they called me at 10am before I even left to go there they ran my card and knew it declined yet never called me to let me know this information. Which to me should be an automatic call to the guest. Now being in my shoes I didn't bring another credit card to pay for the room because I was under the assumption it was paid for already and only had brought enough money for the gas I would use to get back home to Wisconsin. Luckily my sister that was with helped me out. But it should have been brought to my attention when they called me earlier in the morning. If my sister wouldn't have been there, I would have had to sleep in me car the whole weekend. Second complaint, we read a review that someone posted a few days before our stay that had said about bed bugs and the manager refused to believe it and wouldn't refund or anything to help them. Since we had no where else to stay we decided that we would give it a try and tear a part our room when we got there and if we found anything we would deal with it at that time. Well we did that and didn't see anything, yet I wasn't exactly sure of what to look for. So we thought we were in the clear . WRONG!! I WOKE UP TO A BED BUG UNDER MY PILLOW!! I brought it to the attention of the manager and showed her pictures I had taken. She refused to believe it was a bed bug and said she had taken many classes on this and that it was definitely not a bed bug. She was absolutely no help at all!!At that moment we said we will never be staying there again even though that had been our hotel of choice for the past few years.
Our whole family stayed at this hotel for a family reunion. We all had a wonderful time at the hotel. The staff were helpful, the kids loved the pool, and the breakfast attendend made sure I had hot water for my tea every morning.
The hotel was a bit off from the freeway were we traveling but that meant it was in a quiet area of town. The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. Hot breakfast was well stocked with a good selection.
We stayed here while traveling through. The rooms seem newly decorated, but are on the small side of other double queen rooms compared to other's. It was a tight fit. My kids used the pool and there were NO towels to be found. I asked at the desk and none were to be had. Anywhere. All of them were in the laundry? That explained why the floors were so wet going from the pool to the elevator and we added to the wet heading back up to our room. That being said, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We had a good price on the room and the lady working the breakfast in the morning was very friendly. Breakfast was standard Best Western breakfast.
Got in at 9, checked in and went to room. Filthy! Hadn't been cleaned. Go back to office, I was the FIFTH person to ask for a different room. I said no way am I staying! Then, they can't refund your money! One guy walked in on people in his room. Nasty place, nasty service!
This place has an awful dog stench everywhere. There were also some shifty characters just hanging out around the front door...don't appear to be staying or workng there. Breakfast was sub par. Disappointed for what we paid.
Our room was clean and comfortable and very quiet. Check-in was easy and quick. Front desk and breakfast personnel were so friendly. Even the coffee was really good! Great location too! Lots of good restaurant choices in close proximity.
A strong sewer smell and wet carpet smell was present upon check in. I thought it would be resolved with running the A/C and the water in the sink and shower, but it wasn't. I had called the front desk and she wasn't surprised. They have received numerous complaints and do nothing about it. I would strongly advise anyone against staying at this property.
I walked into the room and was blown away by the musty smell. I went back to the desk to ask for a change of rooms, no rooms available. But.. lady at the front desk had some power machine ready by her feet .. to help take the smell away. She put it in my room for 20 mins (I wasn't allowed in the room at the time), and it honestly didn't make any difference. At this time, no other hotels available.. so I'm stuck here, all for the discount fee of over $200. Worst room and experience in many years. Don't book last minute.. lol
Slow service at check in. The first was room open but they moved us. Ended up in a room with bathroom that was dirty. Nothing was done about the dirty bathroom. The eggs were cold and the hot water for the porridge was cold.
This hotel has bed bugs. We stayed in room 314 on July 5, 2019. We checked into our room around 10 pm. We had to leave at midnight because my daughter woke up with bed bugs crawling all over her. The front desk refused to give us any assistance. The hotel now refuses to refund our money saying there was no proof of any bed bugs. They were plainly visible and were crawling all over her bed. We have photos of the bed bugs. I will never stay in another Best Western again.
Arrived Friday late afternoon. Check in was ok. Room was great. AC worked great on a 95 deg day. Next day left in morning and returned at 10:30 in evening. Our key cards did not work, had to return to front desk to have them re-activated. We entered room to find it had NOT been cleaned, but dirty towels had been removed. Called front desk and they said someone would bring up more towels. After waiting an hour and half, I went down to get some. It was now midnight. Next day left in morning and returned about 6 PM. once again the key cards did not work, needed to be re-activated. Room was cleaned. Breakfast served was not very good, no gluten free items other than fruit.
The room had a extremely filthy whirlpool. Floor mat had a child's foot print on it. Popcorn on the floor between bed and nightstand. It had a very weird smell. Also the mattress wasn't even on the bed the right way. Very sloppy
We've stayed at many Best Western Hotels in our travels, and they've all been at least above average. Some have been great. But this one (Toledo South Maumee) is a shocking letdown. We booked a king room with whirlpool bath. The first room had tepid hot water. The other whirlpool room had hot water but the tub stopper was broken. We had to settle for a room with a regular tub... But no king bed, only two queens. Which would have been tolerable, except for the stink of cigarette smoke (in what is supposed to be a totally non-smoking hotel). Best Western is better than this; it's like finding a dead slug in an otherwise appealing salad.
Overall the hotel was great, could use some landscaping outside. The rooms are on the small side however it was efficient enough for our family. The pool was the perfect size. The front desk was very helpful and did anything she could for the baseball team.
Really it should be zero stars based on two primary factors cleanliness/hotel conditions and staffing. The hotel was incredibly HOT, like 85+ degrees hot because the staff just didn't turn on the air units in any of the rooms or common areas. The rooms were extremely small and had a very weird set up (the sink was not in the bathroom). The lock on my door was hanging on by a thread. I was with a group of people and room had wet towels in their room at check in and the other had an unflushed toilet in their room. When it comes to staffing, none of the employees wear an sort of uniform or name tag so you have no idea who works there an who doesn't. I frequently heard the staff complaining about having to be at work or having to clean rooms until 2:30 in the afternoon. Even though we had a secured a late checkout with one of the girls working the front desk, on the day we were to checkout the manager told everyone in my group that we didn't have a late checkout and that we would need to be out in 9 minutes or we'd be charged for another day. She proceeded to raise her voice, be unprofessional and declare that she informed everyone of the inability for late checkout when she checked us in (however she checked NONE of us in). At the end of the day she realized she was wrong but tried to blame her error on us not letting her "finish her story". I will never ever ever stay there again and will be putting up similar reviews on any site I can find!
I had a wonderful stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Some knew about attractions around the hotel, which was helpful because I'm not from the area. Our room was clean and recleaned daily to meet my satisfaction.
This is a very nice hotel complete with all the amenities you expect from a Best Western. My only complaint is that it is difficult to find. Be sure you have detailed directions. The breakfast was the typical breakfast you get at a Best Western which isn't bad. There was some confusion because some of the keys were missing so you couldn't get juice or yogurt.
The staff - front desk and cleaning staff - did a great job - we arrived a little early and they were able to have our room ready - they were finishing cleaning it when we got to the room. The staff was so polite and the room looked amazing! The room was wonderful and the beds were so comfortable!
Clean, priced right and comfy. I like that the sink is outside the bathroom. Breakfast was average, eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, bread etc....Really wish they'd have salsa out for the boring eggs though
I should have realized when I noticed the hand prints on the glass and the dust sitting in the lobby that we were in for it - but we soldiered on. Dirty towel in our room, missing toiletries, misleading amenities advertised and complaining guests were the memorable moments of our stay here. Everything just seemed very unorganized and missing the mark.
We hosted a small conference in Maumee and had a block of rooms for organizers, speakers and attendees. The staff politely and efficiently handled our last minute changes and adjustments. The hot breakfast, while not as elaborate as at some BW it was still enough to satisfy us especially at the price we paid for our rooms. We will be returning here next year. A real bonus for me as an organizer, the beds were Really comfortable!
This place is a filthy mess. The hallway stinks. It looks like the last time the floor was vacuumed was about two years ago. Upon arrival the front desk clerk was on the phone and it was definitely a personal phone call and she did not bother to end the call and left me standing there. When she finally did get around to assisting me she was completely rude and unhelpful. The parking lot looks like a bombed out Third World country. I am here for a conference and I am appalled that this is where they wanted us to stay. I am a frequent traveler and I cannot believe best western allows your name to be slapped on to this filthy dirty building.
Least desirable of any Best Western I have stayed in. Odor in hallway, Breakfast less than desirable, and lack of common supplies in room. There was no shampoo or floor towel supplied and the shower head supplied no pressure.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The only reason I stayed here was that my new company has a special rate with this place (I can't bring myself to call it a hotel). Trying to check in last week I had to wait 20 minutes while the only employee was chatting on the phone in a back room. It sounded like a social call not business. It was 5:30 pm and she could not care less that I was waiting. Last week's room had hair all over it, I'm practically bald so it wasn't my hair. After 5 days the hair was NEVER cleaned. The staff cleaning the room never made the bed, sometimes I got new towels sometimes I didn't. I was able to set the thermostat to 62 degrees so the room would stay at a reasonable temp. But it took 3 days to get to this temperature setting. This week I have a room that has sticky floors (see the picture) even after a day of cleaning the floor was stick nasty. I had to wash it myself with a towel. When I checked in yesterday I called the front desk at 4:30 pm to report that the light over the sink was broken- I was told the engineer had already gone home. So today I would expect the light fixed - NOPE. No note or any evidence that they even looked at it. I asked at the front desk the fumbled for an answer and then said they need to order some parts. But why not tell me before I have to ask? Why not offer a new room or upgrade or discount without me asking? NOPE - absolutely no customer service! This new room can't maintain a consistent temperature, I have the heat (it's winter) set at 58, the lowest setting and it is like an oven. I need to shut off the heat until it is so cold I wake up shivering and turn it back on.. The “food” for breakfast is awful if not anemic. A little eggs and burnt sausage. The waffles were ok, but absolutely no fruit or even juice. What a joke! You will need to get breakfast elsewhere. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
This is a very nice Best Western. It's close to Perrysburg but in Maumee. From the name, it's clearly not far from Toledo and Lake Erie. The room we had was beautifully decorated, clean and so comfortable. It seems to be newly renovated. The check-in clerk was extremely nice, giving us and others a very welcome feeling. This hotel would suit families, couples and business people.
very friendly and helpful staff, very nice pool, clean rooms,.Good location lots of places to eat close by only 10 mins away from the collage,.many stores and gas stations right there to do any shopping you might need
Lets start with the positive. Helpful front desk, clean rooms, comfortable bed, nice shower enclosure (no tub) which is fine with us. Warm pool but no towels. Negatives, could use a decent desk chair you did not fall out of when leaning back. Advertised hot breakfast with bacon but none to be had and they turned the sign around in the morning. To top this off they served rubber eggs. They may advertise the breakfast as free but we all know it is part of the price you pay and we definitely paid more here. The BW we stayed in the night before served scrambled eggs and sausage with home fries etc The whole idea behind a decent breakfast is to get on the road quicker than going out to eat. They also forgot our wakeup call
Close to the highway. Recently renovated, but still a lot to fix- carpet was coming up in our room. Pool looked nice. What didn't we like-- No one at the front desk 3 out of the 4 times we needed someone- including check in and check out. When we checked in, they said- we'll upgrade you to a King. I said, that's what I reserved and was told, no, it's a Queen, but we'll upgrade you for no extra charge. I checked my reservation- I reserved a King. Be careful if you use a debit card. We had plenty of fund available, so it didn't become an issue, but it could have. Our room was billed at $156- a hold was put on our card for $185. I'm assuming that it will settle out, but that extra $20 could have made a difference. Same with the "hold" that the put on for incidentals. There is a sign at the front desk that they will put a hold of 10-15% on your card for incidental. Ok, fine. Then we are told, no, we put a $100 hold on your card. Again, ok. fine- that's pretty standard. I checked our account balance and the hold was actually $115. So, in reality they put an extra $50 in holds without our consent. The $115 has already been released, so no major issue-- just be truthful about the costs. We were lucky that we didn't need that extra $50 during our trip. Now, to the room and housekeeping... When we got to the room, it looked clean enough. But, we did notice a rather strong smell that we couldn't pinpoint. We weren't convinced that it was in our room, so we decided to let it go. When my husband decided to make a cup of tea, we found the culprit-- an old coffee pod that was well past its prime. It stunk to the point we had to put the trash can out in the hall. Mistakes happen, things get overlooked. But, on Saturday, we left the hotel around 9am and returned around 5pm before leaving to go to dinner. We expected that housecleaning would have stopped to make the beds, change the trash, etc. Nope-- at 5pm, our room hadn't been touched. When we asked for it to be cleaned while we were at dinner, there was little resistance from the front desk, but also no sense of urgency or even an "I'm sorry, that's not our standard." We got back and the room was sort of done.. bed was hastily made, trash was gone, but sink wasn't wiped down and the left us 1 towel. So... not a terrible place, but they need to be upfront about charges and housekeeping needs some serious refresher lessons.
The staff really makes this hotel wonderful. We also loved the pool and the hot breakfast. Everything was clean. When we forgot a bag, they called us right away before we were even on the highway, so we could loop around and pick it back up! Thank you!
My boyfriend and I wanted a weekend getaway and we picked the Toledo area. Found this hotel it had amazing prices and the jacuzzi tub in our room was great!!! Most definitely will be back there again.
His hotel was specifically selected because of the value it offered. Pros: price, nice room, recently updated. Large breakfast area. Conveniently located to major throughways. Cons: Small bathroom, kind of thin walls. It's your basic hotel room, not super special but definitely good value.
I was surprised at how clean and comfy the room was, we were on the 3rd floor, it was very quiet. The continental breakfast was nice and filling, the front desk clerk was knowledgeable about the area and even offered to take pictures of my husband I, we were dressed up for a special event. My main reason for rating this hotel so high was that for the price, I didn't have high expectations of cleanliness or attention to detail in the room. I will defiantly be going back to this property!
Picked this hotel based on the quoted price on Google. Was the best value stay in a hotel ever. The room was clean, bathrooms were clean and updated. Room was as advertised and quiet. Staff was very friendly, helpful and proud of their property. Added bonus, the room was $10 cheaper than advertised. Short distance from Ohio Turnpike and close to the Toledo airport. Highly recommend.
I stayed 1 night at this hotel with my spouse. We stayed on the 2nd floor in a room with a king size bed. Nice room, bed comfy, bathroom clean and looks newly renovated. We didn't use the pool but it looked really nice and had great hours. Complimentary breakfast was good, good amount of choices, no complaints. The only complaint I have about this hotel and it's the only reason I would not return was the walls/floors seemed to be paper thin. Just walking in the hallway to our room you could feel the floor moving under you with every step. The biggest issue this caused was whoever was in the room above us was walking around from 3am to 8am and kept us awake most of the night. The point of our stay at this hotel was to get rest before we continued on with our lengthy drive, so we felt disappointed that we didn't get much it any at all.
Room was clean enough, but the hotel itself was a mess. Also a door to the building that should have required a room key to enter was not locked. The lock itself was broken. I felt very unsafe after finding that.
Arriving late, the parking lot was bit full, but we were traveling light so the walk wasn't bad. We were greeted promptly and check in went smoothly and quickly and the staff was friendly. While the rooms are not large, it was comfortable and clean. It was nice to have a mini fridge and microwave available. The breakfast was good and the staff was always working to restock the items. The hotel was very quiet, especially after I had noticed that there were some younger sports teams in the hotel. It's located a bit of a drive off the toll road, but would definitely chose to stay there again when passing through.
The Best Western in S Maumee was a great value . The room was clean and comfortable . I noticed the bathroom was designed to accommodate disabled guests, with a roll in shower and well placed bench in the shower . We didn't need these features but others might. We appreciated the 10% discount at the excellent Italian restaurant immediately next door , just a 2 minute walk from the hotel. And the very comfortable indoor pool which was open til midnight .. nonetheless we did not hear any noise in the hallway after we went to sleep at 10:30.
Very friendly staff. Accommodated 49 people on a bus tour very efficiently! Allowed us to gather in lobby to play games and have fun! Would definitely stay here if we were in this area again. Good breakfast also!
My family and I recently stayed at this hotel to attend our brothers funeral. This is a very clean hotel. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There were a lot of us as we are a family of 11 children. The indoor pool was very nice. Breakfast was simple but good.
We were well-leased with our room. Things appeared to be clean. It seemed like our room had recently been updated. The breakfast was a very nice variety, options of things to eat, although some of the hot food could have been a little hotter.
Close to airport, great dining locations near by, excellent staff, clean, comfortable hotel. The staff is very friendly and the rates are great value. Rooms are modest, but very clean and a the bed was comfortable.
This is a great place to stay in the Toledo area. Nice, clean rooms and a nice swimming pool. Breakfast was delicious, too. I would recommend this hotel for anyone needing to stay in the area. Also reasonably priced.
This is a prime example of a well run business. Staff was very helpful and professional, always asking what they could do to help make my stay the best it could be. The breakfast was above average. Very clean and super comfortable rooms. Highly recommended!!
Breakfast was very nice and the attendant was very friendly and helpful. The location was very nice right off the highway and easy to get to downtown Toledo. 15 minutes from mudhen field and 10 from Original Tony Pacos!
We called the hotel to book a room for 2 nights and the reservation was completely messed up. The man my husband spoke with said we could reserve both nights for $112. It sounded too good to be true so my husband had him confirm the price was a total for the weekend and not per night and the man assured him it was for both nights. It took a while for the confirmation email to come through, but once it did we discovered we were only booked for 1 night at the price we were quoted for 2. When my husband called back to correct the error he was told the man who took the reservation was autistic and made mistakes all the time and that wasn't the rate we'd have to pay. She then proceeded to quote him $75/night and when he agreed to that she then told him she couldn't actually do the $75 rate on the room we had booked.
We had multiple problems throughout our group with room availability and reservation correctness. When we went to our room it had yet to be cleaned. The hot tub didn't work. The printer in the business center didn't work. Our room was cleaned the first day then not touched the rest of our stay. Very dissatisfied with our overall experience.
Checked in on Easter Sunday after a 7 hour car ride. While my wife was checking in my son said "Dad I cant wait for the hot tub" The women checking said the hot tub was not in service. I replied with "Really" She said yes "Sweetie" it is out of order. First off, I do not think it is a good customer service skill calling people "Sweetie" I then told her there was nothing about the hot tub being out on the site we booked on. It was basically a shrug of the shoulders is what I received. Room was clean so was most the hotel. Pool which was open. Was dirty. Paint peeling off of the bottom and sides.
I had to return to Toledo after just visiting for a unexpected funeral. I stayed the 20th-24th Most of the area was booked but I managed to get one of the last rooms very last minute. I honestly really enjoyed my stay . I was on the first floor near the exit . But it was actually very quiet and peaceful. This hotel looks to be renovated at some point but was honestly it amazing shape and looks new on the inside . Bed was so comfortable I slept sound each night . Didn't try the breakfast because so many kids were in town for sports and I just wanted something quite and to myself so I stopped in next door to Bob Evans which I have greatly missed. Don't get me wrong the kids were well behaved I just wanted something less crowded. Huge thanks to the staff as well on check in and check out . I jumped timezones a lot and went to check in really early not realizing it was too early my room wasn't ready yet they offered to get it done quickly I said it was fine I would go get some food and be back later . I felt so bad but When I returned they had everything ready for me including my key so check in only took like 30seconds . Room was definitely comfortable it had a regular chair to relax in along with a desk/ computer chair . This hotel is right next to the expressway which was my view along with a field of grass but it's far enough away you don't hear cars or trucks . Highly recommend staying here !
The staff are wonderful, from the front desk to the breakfast room. We were treated very well and found our room clean. We have a service dog and they put us on the first floor without asking. Will stay here again.
Was very disappointed. When we arrived the staff made a big deal about my platinum status and said they had a special, very nice room for us. At first glance the room looked nice. But then we noticed that the shower dripped and we could not get it to stop. Also noticed that the soap holder was missing, just old, dried up glue on wall. Some small spots of mold at base of the shower. No place to put soap and shampoo. Loose faucet on sink. Phone did not work and when I told the front desk, they said they could not do anything until the next day. Slow and malfunctioning internet. Went to breakfast at 6:30 (was to start at 6 am) Staff was busy talking to other staff and looking at her phone. Told me that she was not sure there would ever be eggs. Eggs arrived at about 7 when my wife went to breakfast. Staff never got up to help anyoneand never got off her phone. So sad and disappointing.
Went to bed early after a long day of driving. At midnight someone was knocking at our door waking up myself, my wife, and our two kids. I got up and it was a hotel employee asking for my name and telling me I had to come to the front desk. Once at the front desk he informed me that there had been a mix up when I checked in and I must have signed the wrong check-in slip. He said "don't worry, you won't have to change rooms." I asked why he woke us up and he said he needed to find out who was in the room. I was tired so went back to bed without questioning that logic. The next morning I went to the front desk to complain about the midnight wake up. The people at the front desk first told me that I signed the wrong slip, like I did something wrong. I signed the slip they handed to me. They continued to say that they had to wake us up to find out who was in the room. They could not explain why it couldn't wait until morning. At one point one of the employees started to speak very condescendingly, repeating to the other employees that "HE doesn't think it was appropriate to wake his family up... HE is upset that we woke him up." I just walked away and left the hotel. Our whole family got a midnight wake up call and they don't think they did anything wrong. Treated very rudely.
We stayed here on our way to and from Philly from Minnesota. The rooms were great and the beds comfortable. The front desk person, Angela, was very crabby and rude. Make sure you get down to breakfast within a half hour of when they close, otherwise you probably won't get anything. We went down at 9:30am (they are open until 10:00am on weekends) There was hardly any food left and the ladies were putting everything away, including the water pitcher. The pool area was clean as was the pool itself. The parking lot fills up fast. I was a little nervous walking so far to the main entrance by myself at midnight.
Our family stayed as a weekend get away with a 2 year old and a teenager. We couldn't ask for better service. All the staff was so nice, but under staffed. Our little boy loved the lady at the front desk! Great location. Our room was clean and comfortable. We chose this hotel because it had a pool and hot tub, but both were so cold we couldn't swim very long. The doors on the outside did not lock for security.
This hotel has an excellent location with easy access to major highways. The rooms are very modern and up to date decor. The only problem that I have with this hotel is the lack of security at entrances away from the main entrance. The side door was setup to require your room key to enter. It was either broken or not activated and when I inquired about the issue the front desk attendant indicated he was new and did not know if this side entrance was ever locked. I was only there overnight and never found this door secured.
I have been staying here every week for the last month. The room is very comfortable and clean. I sleep better here than at home. I was recommended this hotel from a coworker and I have not been disappointed. There are 5 restaurants within walking of distance of all varieties and a market, if you do not want to eat-out. Everything is nice, the pool, the Jacuzzi and the work-out is top notch too. My only complaint was the breakfast food was not to my nutrition standard (too fatty).
I stayed at this location for my dads birthday at the beginning of May 2018. We arrived at 3pm, got our keys but when we arrived at the room housekeeping was still cleaning. We waited in the lobby for awhile , but i had a 10 year old and a 9 month old with me and we were tired from our drive so I asked if we could get a room a different floor that was ready . The front desk agent was very helpful in getting us a new room. The room was great! It was clean and the decor was nice. We loved the sink . Breakfast was great and the breakfast staff were so nice and attentive to the guest. The only complaint would be that the pool was very cloudy. We tried swimming the morning of checkout and we couldn't even see through the pool so we didn't get in. There was also hair in it. We think a lot of guest might have taken a swim the night before. The hot tub was also ice cold. We didn't bother bringing it to the front desks attention due to we were about to leave anyway. Over all I would recommend this hotel!
We stayed here the night before mothers day! I didn't have much sleep the night before due to another hotel we stayed at before, This hotel made everything better! Their pillows were so amazing and comfy that even my husband wanted to buy one from them. When we woke up and went down for breakfast, it was also amazing. The Woman that cooked it did an amazing job. The anmeties smell amazing! The staff was super nice.. Just an incredible stay all together. The only down fall is the rooms are a little tight, but seriously, that's nothing compared to everything else. We strongly recommend it!!!!!
We booked this MONTHS in advance. We booked a suite, which is actually quite nice. However, there is a group of soccer teams here...we are quite understanding, but the suite looks out over the indoor pool. We called down to make sure that the posted pool closing time of 10 PM would be respected. We were then told that they had extended the kids hour until 11 and adults until 12. There was absolutely NO concern on the part of staff/management for the concerns of Gold members that they supposedly appreciate. We would never come here again.
Easy access location with a good fitness room, great breakfast, free parking and very central for all my needs... a simple solution for the business traveller looking for clean comfort and convenience.
One of the best locations in the Best Western chain. Staff smiled, made sure we were happy. Yummy breakfast, great selection, eggs oatmeal and sausage were good and hot. Entire facility was very clean. I will keep this location on my favorite list for future travel through Toledo.
Go elsewhere. Don't bother booking here. My husband and I wanted to escape the cold and have a night away and relax in the hot tub which was the whole reason for booking this hotel. We had multiple choices in Toledo but chose wrong obviously. We checked in and headed straight to the hot tub only to find it's out of order. Worse part is we were not told when checking in or would have cancelled. Then she lied and said it said that on their website and no it didn't until we complained then it showed up in their website the next morning. When we asked for an adjustment all they said was too bad you booked through a 3rd party so nothing. Don't stay here!!!!!! More beautiful hotels on the way they side of the expressway. Haven't been to a BW in many years and thought we'd try it again. Won't be back to this chain.
We went to Maumee for a 9th Anniversary trip because we love the downtown area. We arrived at 3 for check in. We were told no room were clean and no idea when the room would be ready. We sat in the lobby for half an hour with tons of other people. One guy asked if they could make coffee since it was out. They said yes, but never did. Another guy asked if the hot tub was open...only to be told it was broke and the heater didn't work anyway. Some woman walked in the lobby, stole a vase and walked out without a word being said. We decided to leave and came back an hour later. Room still wasn't ready. Entire lobby filled with people from all states being told nothing. Everyone was told there was no manager till Monday and no compensation would be made for anything. Was interesting though that whenever a African American would go to check in, they either got a key to a room, or were told it would only be 15-20 minutes. We finally got a rooma little after 5 pm. By the time we checked in, many of the downtown stores were closing. Anniversary was a bust and left many people pissed. I will never stay here or any Best Western ever again. Stay away from this place. It is a hellhole. In the morning, the elevator rail was even broken. Go somewhere else.
I have stayed at this hotel 4 to 5 days a week since November 2017. Always clean and staff is outstanding. Greeted with a smile and treated like family. Nice hot complimentary breakfast every morning. Also a great location.
This hotel is in a great location for the interstate traveler, had nice amenities, and was an attractive physical plant. The evening check in staff was friendly and helpful. However, every good thing I can say about this hotel stops here. The area had experienced moderate snowfall where there was no evidence of any attempt to plow or clear. Instead, everybody drove over the snow and packed it down into dangerous sheets of ice. The continental breakfast was very limited. The attending staff member stayed in a back room and payed no attention to the fact that supplies had never been put out or had run out. In addition, the trash barrels were overflowing over the course of a solid 90 minutes and were never emptied. Both the morning desk clerk and the dining room attendant walked by these numerous times and paid no attention. If you are looking for a place to only sleep in a nice comfortable room, this hotel is fine. If you want any level of service, find somewhere else.
Room smelt like greasy hamburger.... could hear people voices out in the parking lot....& we were on second floor....... three was no happy medium with heater..... it was either constantly on or we had to turn it off.....& the weather was near/or under zero....
Very excellent hotel with clear dedication to guest comfort. Hotel is spotless - hot drinks available around the clock - rooms large and newly renovated - staff so helpful and warm - breakfast was good too! Great value for the price.
We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by a very friendly staff. A nice gift bag was also waiting for us. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good. Plenty of variety of hot and cold foods. Breakfast area was clean. Overall, this was a nice hotel and was close to where we were going. If ever back in the area, I will stay there again.
The room was great but we picked the hotel based on the hot tub and it was down for maintenance. Really disappointed that wasn't disclosed. Breakfast was really not good. Eggs were disgusting and it was crowded. Wouldn't go back based on experience
When I booked this stay on-line it was because the photos depicting a clean spacious pool/ hot tub area. After driving 12 hours all I wanted to do was sit in the hot tub. When we checked in we were informed that the tub had been "broken" for a couple of weeks. This seems to be a typical reply from hotels that don't keep up with building maintenance. My lesson in all this is to call to book a room and inquire about the maintenance of the swim area before booking on-line. The hours of the pool area are great. Close at midnight with children out at 10pm. ALSO: The sheets felt like sand paper and when running the fan at night for white noise it was accompanied with some heavily artificial scent. Made my nose run. Note to parents with small children staying on the second floor, the room is not a giant trampoline. This is out of the control of the hotel design/ sound proofing for older hotels I understand. I do not hold BW responsible for something that is the responsibility of the parents.
What a pleasant stay. The bed was so comfortable, I loved all the pillows. Great location, right off the highway, we were a few minutes from everything. The pool and Jacuzzi were amazing. Breakfast was hot and tasty. And the staff was incredibly pleasant. I would stay here again, and tell all my friends. Thank you!
This is a hotel where you will get the most bang for your buck. Clean, stylish rooms with comfy beds. The staff are all super accommodating and friendly. Wonderful indoor heated pool and hot tub. The complimentary hot breakfast is actually delicious. Close enough to the interstate that it's easy to find and access but worlds away from the traffic and its noise. We plan to stay here on our next visit to the area.
Updated bathroom looked great, but not functional. The only way to turn on the shower or adjust temperature is to be in the stall, under the shower head and get blasted with freezing cold or scalding hot water. Shower floor was not textured and very slippery. No hand rails. Very small corner shelf for soap, but no room for toiletries. No 'foot ledge'. Similar with sink. Chairs hard as a rock. Breakfast room small & crowded and out of food.
Problem checking in. The shower was old and needed repair. The continental breakfast was marginal. We arrived at night and left in the dark. Few lights on in the parking lot so it was difficult to see. The front desk people were as helpful as they could be but they obviously needed training
Excellent staff and high quality service. My room was quiet and all my expectations were met. Would definitely recommend this hotel, even if it's just for a night or a weekend. The hotel itself is fairly centrally located between gas stations and restaurants. It was a very enjoyable stay during a very stressful weekend
The stay at the Best Western was very enjoyable. The Staff very courteous. Breakfast very good. Considering they had a bus load of visitors that night, they still handled the breakfast very efficiently.
for a medium-priced facility, we were pleasantly surprised. rooms spotless and up-to-date, with nice features and great linen. quiet rooms even though the halls were active. time your breakfast to avoid congestion from bus-tour groups-not a "problem," but quite a crowd!
Nice for a one night stay. Beds were fine, but moving around the room was a bit cramped. The luggage carrier was broken. For an older couple it was really a challenge to get our luggage into the room. If you plan to stay more than one night plan to use your suit case to keep your clothes in. The dresser draws are very small for a couple who would stay for more than one night.
Had an excellent experience at the Best Western in South Toledo. Very clean with a wonderful staff. The indoor pool was a joy and many restaurants nearby makes this a good location. I liked the breakfast very much-a good variety of food. You will be very pleased with this motel.
We stayed here last night and were pleased with it. It is near I 475 but I did not really hear the traffic until now. Check in was easy and the room was nice and clean. The bathroom is little small but it worked for us. There are some dings on the corners, etc., from people not being careful but this is not a problem. There is a frig and microwave, which is nice. The breakfast is a typical hotel breakfast with a waffle maker and some items like eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, breads, etc. The staff here was nice and asked if we needed anything else. I would stay here again.
My wife and I stopped here for the night. The staff treated us as family and soon we had a room on the 2nd floor. The room was great and we got a super nights rest, The room was bright, clean, and the TV & Wi-FI both worked fine. We got up early to get a start on the day ahead. We were treated to a very fine breakfast and then got under way. We will stop here again when we are in town.
Best Western was our temporary home while we visited Toledo's Zoo, Aquarium and Imagination Station. The room seemed small, but was well designed. Sink outside the toilet/shower area saved us time in the mornings. Loved the option to re-use towels or avoid laundering the sheets every day to GO GREEN. Pool area held lots of guest comfortably, towels were replenished consistently. Every employee greeted us with a smile. this hotel is close to Bob Evans and Carabba's- and we were offered 10% discount if we ate there during our stay which was nice. We would definitely return there.
I don't normally stay at Best Westerns on the road, but I might try them more often after this visit. The service was very friendly, the hotel was clean, and the room very comfortable. Didn't use the pool, but I hear it is heated. Skipped breakfast as well as I was in a hurry. Long and short: I needed a clean, comfortable place for the night, and I would definitely stay here again.
the room and hotel was great and would have received a 5 star from me except for the ridiculous sink and shower system in this hotel. The sink and it's frou frou lighting are close to useless. All looks and no function. You cannot set the shower water temp without being INSIDE the shower. this means you get hit by cold water or scalded by hot water as you set your preference. the soap dish was missing from ours as it was a cheapo plastic piece glued in with silicone. Not well installed. the renovator could have saved a hundred bucks putting in a usable sink and use that money for a toe tester and a proper preformed shower wall with built in soap and item shelf.
Our first stay here. Lovely room and amenities, great staff. We will return! Close to great restaurants (who discount with hotel key card), and access right off the highway. There are more nearby places we would have liked to explore.
I stayed here for the 1st time and for the most part the staff was very accommodating, extremely friendly and courteous. The rooms are very nice, there is a nice pool and small but effective workout area. The breakfast area is smaller in size but the food was very good and plenty of good choices. The staff is very knowledgeable and eager to assist you if you need help. I would stay here again.
Staff was friendly, but manager was very rude and unhelpful. From the moment our party entered the hotel, it was obvious that she didn't want to be there. I understand that they were busy that weekend, but that is no excuse for unprofessional behavior. The cleaning ladies and front desk workers had more class then she did.
This spot was a great choice, very comfortable bed and pillows. Vey clean and well appointed (miss seeing a Gideon tucked away). Two minor improvements: for new builds the sink is about 6 inches too high. Second floor odd numbered rooms facing parking lot need blinds or heavy drapes to draw, lights are very annoying at night.
We stopped on our way home and could not have picked a better hotel. This was the best Best Western hotel we have ever been in and made our final night on vacation a good one. Like the other reviews just like a Hampton Inn but better value and being retired a good thing! You also have restaurants near the hotel that you can walk too which was a real plus. Their morning breakfast was also very good and above average which was very nice.
We selected this hotel due to its TripAdvisor rating and it was OK but not great. Tough to find even for Mapquest and parking lot is difficult to navigate. Good dining options within walking distance.
Great location, awesome room and best fitness center for a BW. Felt like a Hampton inn. Check in attendant was great. Start of breakfast looked amazing but left early. Close to restaurants and grocery store as well if looking to eat healthier
Good location, great breakfast, heater pool, clear room and plenty of parking are all worth a 5 stars review. However, I waited 16 mins to check in as there is only one staff at night and waited another 10 mins in the morning to reset my room key where the front desk staff was outside smoking.
I had reserved three rooms for our family trip to the Toledo Zoo. It was a GREAT hotel for this trip. The kids and adults enjoyed the WARM water in the pool and the hot tub. Breakfast bar had something for everyone and the rooms were of good size and inviting.
I have been at this hotel for 5 weeks with a few of my employees checking in & out. The front desk has been great in helping me extend reservations, make new ones & in general keep the plan straight. Dawn was a great asset to the staff. Rooms were clean & kept so everyday. Breakfast well that could stand a little help. The eggs were barely palatable but the occasional breakfast sandwich was good. Enjoyed my stay here & would recommend this hotel as well as return here if in the area
Chose this hotel while heading to Toledo to visit the Zoo and the Art Museum. Only about 20 minutes away from both destinations. About 10 minutes away from the Fort. Easy exit off 475, with numerous local eateries near by from family owned to chain places. Enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub.
Jamie was very professional and was awesome! The rest of the staff were very nice too! Loved the hotel and would definitely recommend stay here. The location was very convenient highway while traveling across country.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby area was clean. Our room was okay, but less clean than other Best Western's we have stayed in. I am not sure of the reason, but I felt the cost for the room was on the high side and did not provide a good value.
Very pleased with the decor and cleanliness of this hotel. Pool and hot tub area were inviting with a warm pool, which for me is a plus. Breakfast included biscuits, gravy, eggs, waffles, etc. A nice perk was the To-Go bag which included a bottle of water, fruit and granola bar...and the staff invited us to take as many as we needed.
Better than expected overall. Stayed for a stop over night on the road. Pool and hot tub were amazing. Walls a bit thin, unless it was our location as we were near the front elevators etc. so we heard a lot of noises. Breakfast was average, but got us out the door for more road time. Location was excellent near the turnpike.
When first stepped in room found a bug on the bed. Looked like just a little beetle that made it's way in but first impression wasn't the best. There was a big red stain on the carpet between the beds, not sure what it was from. The toilet paper holder wasn't secured to the wall so that slid out. The pool and hot tub were great though and the adult time from 10-12 was very relaxing. The staff was very nice and the location was good.
We went to this hotel that is centrally located to all the attractions we wanted to visit with our 3 little boys (8, 6 and 2). My mother-in-law booked this room for us and we had a GREAT TIME! The boys really enjoyed the warm pool. It was like bath water! Thanks for great service. We will stay here again and recommend it to others.
The hotel is very nice and modern. Rooms are nice, very clean and comfortable. Free hot breakfast was very good. I'd recommend staying here and I'd definitely stay again. WIFI is free and works well. The bathroom could use a shelf, but other than that everything was great.
Very nice clean, modern and well appointed room. Bed comfort was also very good. Microwave and fridge. Good bathroom and shower. The breakfast is not great but fine if you just need something quick to get you going. Only stayed one night so can't say much else. Very happy with the hotel.
Everything was great. Loved that the pool was open extra late for adults. Breakfast was amazing! Highly recommended! Check-in gal was very busy. Could use extra help during this busy time. Would have liked to stay more than one night!
Hotel close to the highway, great for a quick overnight. Driving from MD to MN and this was a good stopping point, literally at hotel from 1 am- 11am. Clean, remodeled (2017) hotel. Appears to be in a safe area, close to gas stations and fast food. Bed was firm, but comfortable. Hotwire Booking: $80.00 3-star Hotel in SW Toledo - Maumee - Holland area 85% recommended - 6 reviews, 5 circles 1-100 (Trip Advisor Reviews) The following Complimentary Items were listed: Free breakfast | Free Internet | Free parking The following amenities were listed: Fitness center | Indoor pool(s) | Pool(s) | Smoke-free rooms Travel-July 17-18, 2017
We selected this hotel because it was located just off of I-80 on our trip home to MN from VT. It has just been completely remodeled and is as nice as any Hampton Inn that I have stayed in over the last 25 years.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. Nicely upgraded. The pool was great! it was warm and you could walk right in unlike many hotel pools that are freezing. Being a grandpa it allowed much enjoyment for both myself and the grandchild, and neither of our lips turned blue telling us it was time to get out!!
Went to maumee for a girls fastpitch tournament and was pleasantly surprised by Best western motel and everything about it! Clean excellent service close to everything toledo area has to offer. Will stay again I promise!!!
Attendant had a hard time keeping the breakfast foods stocked and the eating area is very cramped. Rooms are nice. bed was great, pool was nice, We stayed 3 nights with a large group for a baseball tourney everyone was very pleased with the rooms and amenities.
Just returned from overnight stay at this hotel. Had a King Bed room on second floor. Room kind of small, but had microwave, mini fridge, ac worked well, need a fan in bathroom. Kind of a weird smell in room probably due to humidity. Elevator needed a good cleaning. Bed was very comfortable. Free wifi throughout hotel. Free coffee and tea all day. Free breakfast was typical of this type of establishment. Pool and hot tub was ok. Quite busy with ball teams. Right off of the 475 which was convenient. Free parking was nice. Overall an excellent stay. Would recommend this establishment to everyone.
All in all it was a good hotel stay. The lobby is small, but attractive. The breakfast was like those places that serve a better breakfast with hot items. We didn't use the pool and hot tub, but they look to be very nice and there is a lift for handicapped persons to enter the pool. The indoor pool was right off the lobby. Our room was attractive and clean. The fancy top of counter wash bowl was a bit high for short people like me, and the entry area to the room a bit cramped so unloading a lot of stuff was unhandy. The fridge worked well and had a freezer to freeze our cooler pack. The beds were firm and the pillows good. The location of the elevator was a bit unhandy with having to go through two doors without auto open for the most direct route, or walk down a somewhat long hall from the lobby to the elevators. Because the motel is tucked back on side streets, we might have had a bit of a hard time finding it without our GPS. There were restaurants and gas stations close by.
After a long drive, found this property - were very happy. Recently completely renovated. Very friendly service, too! As BW Platinum Card members, we always seek out Best Westerns and always seem to be quite happy with our choices.
Stayed at this hotel twice, both on my way to and from a trip to the east coast. Both times the hotel was great. I have absolutely no complaints. The staff was very friendly and best of all the hotel is located very conveniently. It's not too far off the highway and right next to (walking distance) everything you need to include food and gas. There is even a grocery store right nearby (5 minute walk) where you can get a wide variety of prepared foods, all of which you can heat in the microwave provided in your hotel room. This is my GO TO place to stop when passing through the area from here on out.
Unless you have the time to research, and because each Best Western is individually owned and operated, a property can be hit or miss. This location is a BIG hit! I am so happy I chose to stay here on my trek east across the country. Jamie at the front desk was welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Room 204 is large, modern and clean with beautiful finishes. The room felt so clean I didn't even feel compelled to use disinfectant wipes on all the surfaces. The remote was sealed in plastic! The TV is a really nice HD RCA. Too bad premium cable is not available. The shower is beautifully designed aesthetically, but agree with another reviewer that getting the water to hot is awkward. I was also very happy with dinner at the nearby Barr's Public House although the 10% hotel discount was left off my bill.
Best Western has always been my favorite hotel. I am never disappointed. And this time was no different. We stayed the night at this Best Western when we were on a bus trip from St. Louis, MO headed to Niagara Falls Canada,tThe night of June 4th 2017. I didn't have to wonder if the hotel was going to be clean enough or have the amenities that I needed. The breakfast buffet was more than I expected. And the hotel is affordable. BEST Western is the BEST !
Very relaxing , good breakfast ,nice pool , friendly staff, stayed here on business. clean room no issues Nice points reward system. pool and hot tub were nice will due further business with them. thank you
A beautiful facility, with updated décor. Extremely clean. Great bed and bedding. Lots of towels, cups, nice coffee maker. The sink is outside the toilet/shower area which is great for a couple trying to get ready in the morning. We didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked quite nice. The only complaint I have is not being able to turn on the shower without getting into it. The glass panel near the handle is stationary, so one must get inside, turn it on, and either stand in the cold spray until it gets hot or hurry back outside which isn't as easy as it sounds. My husband used the complimentary breakfast and said it was adequate. There was a pile of bacon, but it needed to be cooked more. This hotel fills, probably because of the very competitive pricing, so book early. We were going to Oak Openings Metropark and it was only a 15 minute drive from the hotel.
Everything was great the pool was very nice. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was very nice. A little crowded, but they did a great job and trying to keep up with everyone. Everyone was very friendly and helped us out when you needed it
My husband and I arrived here around 10:30 pm for just 1 night as a stopping point on a long road trip. At 11:00 pm someone was pounding on our door. We weren't asleep yet, but only because we'd just gotten there. Before I could get to the door, it was unlocked and opened. We had the security bar in place to stop the door from opening too much though. "Oh. Someone is in here? Sorry. Maintenance." and he walked away. I wonder if he was there to fix: 1. the broken mini fridge? The freezer portion was a puddle of water, instead of the typical surround of ice. 2. the toilet? It ran for about 5 minutes every time it flushed. And every time I was sure it was going to overflow (it didn't). 3. the sliding door on the shower? It kept jumping off the track. It took a few REALLY hard pulls to get it open in the morning so I could exit the shower. Seriously thought I was trapped in there. My strong husband experienced the same. 4. the hot water? The shower took a few minutes to heat up. Too bad the only way to turn on the shower is to already be standing inside since the faucet side has a stationary glass panel, and the sliding door is on the opposite side. So for a few minutes I was trying to stand outside of the cold spray while it warmed up. 5. the bathroom vent fan? Oh, wait.....there wasn't one. Positive notes: 1. mattress and pillows were comfortable. The pillows are small though (like 18" squares) which my husband didn't like. 2. lots of towels provided. 3. lots of glasses and mugs, and coffee maker in the room. Other: The sink/vanity is IN the room, where the "bathroom" is just the toilet and shower. I like that so I could be at the sink while my husband had his own privacy in the shower at the same time. But some people don't like that set up, so it's worth mentioning. At check-out, the women didn't ask me how I enjoyed my stay so I didn't mention anything. But if she had cared enough to ask, I would have told her. The people in front of me were complaining to her about their stay, so maybe she just didn't want to deal with more.
We stayed one night on our way to Yellowstone. Everything was clean and quiet, pool and patio looked really nice. There are a couple of restaurants across the parking lot so we were able to walk to them. Only negative is the bathroom sink is outside the bathroom and a little too much in the actual room. It's also one of those very modern tub-style sinks sitting on the counter, which I found awkward to use - it took up too much of the actual counter. The mirror was lit around the frame, very cool-looking, but not bright enough to be very useful. The room was very narrow. The bed was great - really comfortable. Free continental breakfast was included - food was ok and nicely presented in a little room off the lobby.
Hotel is new very clean. We had a poor experience with the breakfast. It was not replenished and very little choices. When we inquired we were told it was cooking. Nothing was ever replenished when we were there
The rooms were very nice the pool and hot tub was beautifully kept up the patio had a girl and nice furniture the breakfast was good coffee was good and the people that run this place were above and beyond great
The kids had a great time. Staff were nice and tolerated all the noise. Big open space outside not around at lot of traffic. Walking distance to grocery and restaurants. Cute and cozy atmosphere. Bathrooms should have sink inside bathroom and a fan. Only complaint.
We were quite pleased with this hotel. The room was quite modern and very comfortable. We had some confusion accessing the hotel from I-90 but it was a matter of my not understanding the directions. It's quite close to I-90 so was very convenient. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Everything is so clean and the staff is attentive. The breakfast menu is very well rounded. Fitness room and pool are very clean and well maintained. Much better than other places we've stayed. We always request a military discount and it's honored.
While an older property, the rooms have been renovated and are very comfortable and updated. The in room refrigerator was great for holding soft drinks and fruit. The hotel provided a very good full breakfast with options for cooked eggs, cereal, juices, etc. This property is a perfect place to stay for families or others traveling to the Toledo area. It is conveniently located off of the Ohio Turnpike and 280, which could be an ideal stopover for people traveling across the state.
Nice, clean room. Just an overnight stay enroute to destination, but was very satisfied with room, staff, and ease of internet and speed. We would stop here again if the opportunity presents itself. A good experience.
Stayed one night while traveling and will probably keep this as a regular part of our route. PROS: Convenient location --- plenty of local restaurant options. Clean and newly renovated! Mini-frig and microwave. Double occupancy rooms have queen beds instead of typical doubles. Very comfortable beds. New towels. Additional large mirror near outlets (if you have girls traveling with you this means something!) CONS: Highway noise (travel tip --- buy foam earplugs for sleeping)
Very nice modern rooms complete with microwave, refrigerator (that works), free wi-fi and heat lamp in the bathroom and about the most comfortable beds we've ever enjoyed in a hotel. Liked the sink outside of the tub/toilet room for steam-free hair styling. Generous breakfast with options for anyone. Beautiful indoor pool available until 10pm. A bit tricky to find due to streets that change names at intersections like Salisbury & Dussel, and Briarwood & Kit Lane.
The Best Western in mommy was my best experience at a hotel this year the hotel was clean and comfortable freshly remodeled the pool accessible and very clean I love the fact that the children were asked to leave the pool at 10 p.m. and there was adults only from 10 to 12 it is a shame that the pool is not open 24/7 I would like to thank the manager Judy and Abdul for the wonderful experience and for making arrangements for my 50th reunion in October of 2018
We normally stay at Country Inns and Suites, this time we stayed at Best Western and will be back. The hotel is clean and looks newly refurbished, the pool is nice and the value is great, especially compared to the other hotels is the area.
We were in Maumee for just one night, so I didn't want to spend a fortune on a room. This hotel is an exceptional value. It is well decorated with clean, comfortable rooms. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. Breakfast was very nice. I would definitely stay here again.
I was a last minute guest at Best Western. I was welcomed and made so very comfortable by Jayme Novak at the front desk. She asked about my itinerary and accordingly assigned me a room that accomodated by somewhat unusual schedule. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was good also. Plan to stay again and put Best Western on my list of hotels to search out as I travel.
My husband and I needed a place to get a good night's rest before embarking on our second long day of travel home, and this hotel really filled the bill. Bed was super comfortable, room impeccably clean, breakfast complete and tasty. Service was great and all the staff were attentive and lovely. I highly recommend this hotel!
Excellent, professional and helpful staff. Spacious room, good breakfast, Great restaurant within walking distance to hotel, (Barrs Public House) Comfortable bed, quiet room, clean, a little off the main road butt worth it
Needed a place to rest for our drive from Washington DC to Chicago. Stopped into this Best Western for the night. The hotel has clearly been recently updated, with a modern and sleek lobby and room decor. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was nothing special, but had everything you would expect - the highlight was the fresh waffles with chocolate chip or crushed M&M toppings. It was obvious that a conscious effort is taken to keep the property clean.
This place is very clean and pristine. Beds are comfortable. Rooms are adequately heated. Breakfast was ok. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again. Only criticism is the staff could be friendlier.
Group of us stayed there over the weekend. They had all the room (4) reservations messed up. Rooms were nice and modern, though small. Breakfast was great. Biggest problem is untrained staff at the front desk.We had reserved 4 rooms a month ago. We got there and they had reserved only 3. They were supposed to give us all AAA discount. Nope!! Billed us regular rate until we complained at checkout. Then they billed 2 rooms to my CC when I only had 1 room. They said they would email a receipt and never did. So sad that incompetent staff can screw up a nice stay,
We were in town for a volleyball tournament. Our whole experience went smoothly from check in to check out. It's a very nice place with friendly staff members. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area!
Great hotel, clean, staff was extremely polite and helpful. Rooms looked beautiful, place well kept up. Highly recommend this hotel for a nights stay. Parking area had plenty of area for parking and the best was well lit. And oh the best part it was quiet and peaceful. Didn't hear and door slamming and water pipes making noise
Modernized and updated. CLEAN ROOMS and a very friendly staff. a cool pool as well as a hot tub for relaxing. Restaurants are very close as well. Conveniently located just minutes off of the highway..
I stayed here as a stopping point in my trip. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was really great. I look forward to staying there on my next trip.
The staff was so welcoming and willing to help me with everything and anything I needed! The room was super clean and the beds were extra comfy! I love the new look they have going. Looking forward to staying again!
I would definitely recommend this hotel. Staff was friendly, room was brand new and clean. Our daughter loved the pool. A nice Italian restaurant next door. Has everything you would need for a night away.
Stayed two weeks ago while visiting friends in the area. Hotel was very clean, newly renovated and beautiful. Modern yet still comfortable. Surprised by the complimentary breakfast with eggs and sausage. Staff was great. Would recommend and stay again when in the area.
This hotel I would have to rate as average. Upon arrival, once checked in, my colleague and I, used the side door. The card reader is falling off the wall. When the door went to close behind us the handle fell off onto floor. You can tell this hotel was recently renovated. The room was nice, but when taking a closer look, the attention to detail was not taken. There was splattered paint on the baseboards and light switches. Where the spare toilet paper was, when you took it out, it was as though it was never cleaned after renovation. The toilet seem to run for about 10 seconds every 30 minutes, which became annoying in the evening when trying to sleep. These are not make or break items, but with it being newly renovated I would have expected more. Hopefully now that the renovations are done, the details would fall into place.
This hotel is awesome...at everything! Location is phenomenal, staff is warm and friendly, gym is fully loaded, breakfast is great, rooms are newly renovated and modern...just great! The manager really takes pride in her hotel and does anything she can to make her guest feel welcomed. I'm on week 2 and I haven't been disappointed yet....except they don't get the FX channel.
I traveled to Toledo twice in two weeks - once with my wife and then again with my 90 yr old mother. I found this Best Western on line and noted the great reviews. It was also competitively priced. I haven't stayed at many Best Westerns, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. It has been recently renovated, so everything is new. The rooms are huge, clean and fresh looking. There are adequate electrical plugs for your cell phones, I-pads, etc. The bathrooms are well lit, and some have walk in showers with double shower heads and benches. The complimentary breakfast is great. I had to give this one an excellent rating.
All vending machines empty. Had to go to store late in the night to buy bottled water. No cookies upon arrival. Not because I love cookies but just different from other Best Western hotel. Could not provide water from dining as emergency water to drink.
Absolutely fabulous hotel! Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and very tastefully decorated. The lobby and breakfast area had a modern contemporary feel. The furnishings themselves were very chic and up to date. The breakfast offerings were delicious. My children loved the waffles. It was just we needed to get our day off to a good start. Our family also enjoyed the pool and hot tub areas. The chaise lounge chairs were very comfortable to relax on while the kids played. My husband said the jets in the hot tub felt great on his back. The staff were excellent with a quick and courteous check in process. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!
This was a great hotel to stay in. Best Western recently acquired to property and they renovated the entire thing. Rooms were very clean and new. Service staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. There were two restaurants within walking distance. Very safe neighborhood. Plenty of space to park a uhaul or if towing a car. Would stay here again.
Definitely will be going back, attentive staff, supples everyone one needs, the hotel was clean and chic, clean rooms, professional friendly accommodating staff. The gym was also a nice and don't forget your swinsuit
Clean room. Great staff. Pool area is pretty nice and the pool is great temp. The hot tub is also a nice touch. The jets worked wonders on my back! Comfortable atmosphere, would definitely recommend it to anyone!
I spent four nights here on a family trip and this is definitely the hotel to stay at. Incredible service, amazing staff, and perfect location. Part of the reason I had a good time was because of my experience at this hotel. I'd definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who's looking to have an amazing time whether its a business or family trip :)
I stayed at this hotel with my family. The hotel is very beautiful with a lovely environment. The front desk staff and manager made us feel welcome, when we arrived. They were also very attentive during our stay. The room was very clean, beautiful and neat. Moreover, my children enjoyed the pool and hot tub; it was very clean. Overall, the hotel and the room look spectacular and clean, the staffs and manager are very nice, the breakfast was delicious, and the amenities was awesome. I will definitely recommend this hotel. My family and I enjoyed our stay. And I look forward to stay with my family again!
The staff was very pleasant to deal with and took care of all our requests promptly Hotel was recently remodel. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The area also has plenty of places to eat and grab a beer. Can'
Love this hotel!! I visited with my family and we all enjoyed it. I will always stay at this hotel. It is beautiful with the best staff ever.????The rooms are nice and well stocked (even with slippers). The indoor pool is amazing. Next time I want to stay in one of the rooms overlooking the pool.
I had the pleasure of staying at the best western while on my vacation. It was the best experience I had very quiet beautiful time. The breakfast was delicious and on point. The pool was very peaceful fun and also beautiful. The environment around the hotel is very peaceful... Makes you feel comfortable and safe. All in all I will stay at this hotel again when in town definitely lived every minute of it.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel had no signs so it was kind of weird. It really felt like a baymont property. The pool area was very nice and the hot tub was very hot as I like it to be. The room was fresh and very well decorated and very clean. I was surprised to find a pair of slippers in my room not what I expect from this level of hotel but I loved them none the less. This is a Great Hotel
i had the pleasure of staying at this hotel as I was transitioning to a local restaurant. I knew they were remodeling and I did not know if it was turning into a Major Brand because it was a local hotel at that point. Needless to say, it was your run-of-the-mill hotel feel, no thrills. Let me tell you, THAT HAS ALL CHANGED. The hotel, now a Best Western, is immaculate and run with a "pleasure" attitude that you normally find at J.W. Marriots and high-end Hilton properties. The decor is stunning, beds are extremely comfortable, breakfast is prepared with high quality care, and the staff is always available to meet your needs and expectations. If you are looking for a high-quality, well-priced, well run, and quiet place to catch some sleep; look no further. It's within walking distance to Carrabba's, Bob Evans, and Walt Churchill's Market. BRAVO to the management group for a truly awe-inspiring transformation of this hotel..
In route to North Carolina, we stopped at 11:30pm for a much needed rest. We got a 2Q bed room with frig and microwave. The room was spotless and the mattresses extremely comfortable. The basin was outside the toilet and shower and had a wonderful backlit mirror. The only negative was that the bathroom did not have an exhaust fan. Outlets were convenient and plentiful. The staff was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was the typical fare with eggs and waffles, but offered gluten free options upon request. Would definitely stay here when in the area because we had a quiet, restful stay.
This was just made into a Best Western about a month ago.We found it by calling Best Western reservations and asking for a hotel near Maumee, Ohio because we are driving home from South Dakota. There is no sign on the Interstate or roads near it, not even a sign on the building. We only found it because it is a big blue building that looks like a hotel. We were pleased with our room. It was clean and comfortable.Everything is new and modern looking. The shower enclosure was nice. There were outlets to plug things in on both night table lamps and there was a 6 outlet one on the desk. There is a Bob Evans next door and other stores and restaurants near by. Breakfast was 7:30-10:30 a.m. Eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, danish, etc.
The sign out by the street says Baymont but the motel is now a great Best Western. The signage is not on the building at present but was assured that they are coming shortly. The hotel is very clean and rooms are very quiet. We had a room on the expressway side and did not hear any noise from the freeway. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. The room had a microwave, refrigerator, iron/and iron board, hair dryer, and a good size flat screen TV. Breakfast area is a little larger than most with a good selection. The pool is enclosed and with chairs and tables in same enclosure as the pool. Customer service is great. We will be staying here again when in area.
Stayed with family for 2 nights, very clean and nice hotel. Looks like hotel was recently renovated with great taste and detail. Staff was courteous and friendly.Great location, lots of restaurants close by and good connectivity to free way.Kids enjoyed the indoor pool. For the price this was a great deal, highly recommend and will stay here again whenever I am in this area.
Absolutely loved everything about our stay! Not only was it one of the cleanest hotels we have stayed in, the staff was top notch and very welcoming! Breakfast was very yummy and the kids loved the pool.
I had booked the reservation via the Best Western website. Arriving I was made to feel totally welcomed and the check-in was prompt and front desk staff very accommodating to questions I had about the area. All contact with all of the staff I felt as though I was the most important guest in the hotel. If I have to return to this area, this hotel will be number 1 on my list.
I recently stayed here with my entire family. They employees were very helpful and made our stay even better. The pool/hot tub area was very clean and my children had a blast swimming. The newly remodeled rooms were way above what was expected I slept like a baby. The extended breakfast had so many options everyone in my family was happy. I can not wait to go back threw the area and enjoy all the fun things Toledo has to offer and stay at this amazing hotel.
The rooms were beautiful and clean. The staff is so helpful and sweet and make a warm caring atmosphere. My kids loved the pool (they stayed there most of the time) and we all enjoyed the hot fresh breakfast. We love this Best Western and will stay here every time we visit.
I recently stayed at this hotel with my family for the first time. First, I have to say this hotel is and look spectacular! The hotel has been completely renovated including the parking lot, the front lobby, the front desk, the pool area, the sitting area, hallways, the cafeteria room, the restroom, and the bedroom. The pictures that are posted in this page must be old. Not to mention, the hotel is close to restaurants, retail stores and gas stations. Next, the staffs and the manager as well, were very professional and polite. They work together to provide the best services level to the customers' satisfaction. In addition, the room services was wonderful. Overall, the hotel is very nice, clean and modern. In the bedroom, everything was new, clean and nice. Also, there's plenty of parking spaces and is free. The staffs and manager made sure we felt welcome and we were taking good care during our stay. My family and I enjoyed our stayed in the hotel; the children enjoyed the clean swimming pool. Therefore, I would definitely recommend the hotel to my family and friends. It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel!
Excellent hotel experience. Comfortable rooms & bed. Beautiful TV. The staff was very attentive. Very conveniently located. Great value for the price. Nice pool & hot tub. Good exercise room. This hotel is undergoing a beautiful transformation/ renovation. I would definitely stay here again. It is ridiculous that TripAdvisor mandates that you include 200 characters in the review. Now I am just making stuff up so that this will be posted because this was a good place to stay.
I was in Maumee for one night. Clean and had an issue with a lamp in which they resolved right away. Cheap and very quiet. I will come her again. Plus side there is a Carrabas within walking distance. The place has a pool and jacuzzi suites. Staff very friendly.
Decent price for a jacuzzi/executive suite that close to Fallen Timbers shopping center and the Toledo Zoo... However, we could smell hints of weed throughout the hotel, there was a large insect on the ceiling of our room, the breakfast was limited, and we were awakened by kids downstairs at the pool at 7:00 AM.
We stayed here for 2 nights, at the time of booking we were little skeptical as we always stay at chain of hotels but we were pleasantly surprised with our experience at Heritage Inn. Rates were extremely competitive, very clean and comfortable rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful.Great location near freeway and lots of restaurants and stores like kroger etc. Complimentary breakfast made our stay more pleasant and kids enjoyed the pool. We learned that it's under new management and they improving it further with new carpets, furniture and amenities. We will certainly stay here again and recommend others.
Me and my family enjoy the stay room were clean. pool was nice and clean we had a great breakfast and we enjoy the location of our hotel. when we checked in staff were great. i would stay recommended everyone to stay at this location.
Now where do I begin...I pulled in and it looked like the place was shut down. Islands in the parking lot were full of weeds bigger than me (5'6). I walked in, got my key cards, proceeded to room. The side door to the hotel had no lock to it nor had a key card swipe mechanism. It was held together by painter's tape. The elevator had a strange smell to it, the floor reeked of cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking floor. The room was passable, you had to squeeze to get into the bathroom though. The room had a 27 inch tube tv(modernize!) Could of used more pillows on the bed. The free wifi barely worked, kept kicking you off. The next morning at breakfast they didnt have butter offered anywhere, The kicker is after breakfast my children were ready to go to the pool because the sign posted on the pillar in the pool area said opens at 8am. We go down, the lady at the desk says her manager told her to not open the pool until 9. What? We reasoned with her that the sign said 8, she said she knows, but can't open until 9 because her manager said so and she would get yelled at if she opens it any earlier. Very very poor execution there manager person. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Total letdown,
