« Feel unwelcome. Will not go back. »

Nickel and dime charges for late check out of 360 per hour. Minibar three and four times the cost of same items across the street. Diamond member given the tourist treatment. Air con broken in deluxe room. Very small space for families. Walk over many homeless outside the front door. Smoking area in front of hotel is disgusting.

« My favorite place to stay in Manila »

I have been to Manila 7 times and always stay here. Staff is friendly . They can hail a taxi in just a few minutes. The breakfast is always exquisite. Air conditioning is decent with minimal noise. The WiFi fi is a little weak on the back street side of the building. But overall I am very comfortable here ... always.

    « Feels like we're in a 5 star hotel »

We loved our stay here, stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. Our room was booked via Traveloka months in advance and the experience did not disappoint. We were there to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary (no surprise I guess they didn't get the memo that it's our anniversary but it's okay) First, they have allowed us to check-in early, second, the service was so genuine it felt like a five star hotel. Considering it was a pretty small hotel their service was really great! Commending Noimie and Ryan for their service during breakfast. They both ensured we eat our hearts content, though we didn't noticed during our firat breakfast that we can actually request for bacons, omelettes and pancakes (probably because Ryan wasn't there during our first breakfast). They were both accommodating especially to our two-year old son. Thank you also to Zack, the one who ensured the room was spic and span. I love the idea there's a welcome card with the name of the one who's assigned to clean the room. At least I know who to thanked to. One that fall short, is that you can asked for a complimentary coffee but it took ages to arrive, probably the fault of the receptionist but it can easily be forgotten considering everyone was really nice. It was also funny that She (receptionist) couldn't hide her reaction when I told her my son vomited at the sheets and it needs to be replaced, but she smiled when I said we have cleaned it up and just needed a fresh bed linens. Everything else was superb and I am actually thinking of booking a room for my birthday.

« Best hotel for price and service in the Ermita area. »

Recently stayed at this hotel for fours different stays, between 3/20/18 and 5/23/18. First stay for 2 nights upon arrival into Manila, then 2 one night stays transiting thru Manila to other islands, and then 3 nights at the end of vacation prior to leaving back to US. This is differently my go to place while in Manila. I've stayed in numerous hotels in this surrounding area (Erimta) over the years, (which I don't think I can name) but the level of excellence that this hotel performs at is a cut above the rest in my humble opinion. From the included buffet breakfast, the front desk staff, (which I love, as they won't let you make a mistake when booking rooms, scheduling transportation, checking flight and "WHAT TERMINAL" they leave from. This is an old exceptionally well maintained building, marble floors with wood inlays, 20 years ago they had the old style elevator with the sliding gate you'd close like in the old movies. You'd have to appreciate these old world architectural nuances to truly appropriate this place as I do. Nitty gritty stuff; Buffet breakfast is excellent, great mix of western and Filipino food, omelet station, pancakes, waffles, fresh breads.....numerous kinds of breads and rolls and my fav mango jelly. Fresh fruit....always 3 different kinds, and all the fresh brewed coffee you might want, this is a big deal for me as some places serve instant coffee???? I saw some people struggle with the buffet, and when appropriate I chatted with them, told them to turn around for the omelet bar, and suggested try every on the buffet, you will find things you like and some things you won't....step outside the box. And don't hesitate to ask the dining room staff about anything.....they want to talk with you and practice their English, French, Italian, you'd be surprised how fluent some of these folks are. Also the bar is always open just in case the need for a Bloody Mary might arise and I can attest to the fact that the mixologist knows how to make a mean bloody Mary. The restaurant: For the first time in ten years I had dinner on two occasions at the in house restaurant. One of the best cheeseburger and fries I've had in a long time and, and my wife had curry chicken and said it was excellent. Second night I had some wings and calamari,.....outstanding, oh and the drinks, trust me on this......they might not know your specialty from back home, but if you have the basic recipe.....you'll get there with a smile on your face. Try the mango madness???? All I'll say. Used the laundry service twice, and have used it many times over the years, and have never had a problem and its rather inexpensive. Rooms: The basic hotel style rooms are small, and are fine if your during a one night stay and transitioning to another island the next morning. I normally get a deluxe room, queen bed, larger comfort room, or the suite, much larger, plenty of room if your heading home and packing an extra suitcase with coffee, treats, and or any number of items that are considerably cheaper than in the US. Excellent mini bar, and if your drinking mixed drinks they will deliver tubs of ice to your rooms, and tip these guys please!! Room are spotless, good AC, plenty of hot water, have absolutely no complaints over the years with any rooms. Never saw or have I had a bug problem, or even seen one over the years. Front desk staff......outstanding...excellent...I can't praise this group enough. They check and double check flights, gates, terminals, and anything else you might need, trust me if you tell them that your flight in leaving from terminal 2, but for some reason you think its its 3....trust me their not going to let you make a mistake.....they all know what airlines fly from what terminals and they will get you to the right terminal. The hotel is now utilizing the Nissan car service to and from the airport, 24 hours a day! Trust me this is the only way to go......don't deal with the taxi's at the airport especially when your due in at say 8 pm, and you get in at 12:30 am. They will charge double what the car service charges, 1500 pisos or more the later you arrive, and the car service is 750p. Urber is no more, I won't go into the reason but the PI government pulled there operating permit due to issues with insurance, driver standards, yada, yada. They have joined up with GRAB, and will be operating in the very near future. Location: 7 to 8 minute walk to the Robinson Mall, containing over 1000 shops and restaurants. Large Mercury Drug store on the way to mall, along with the G-spot bar and restaurant (ya I know great lunch buffet, pool tables and bar) watched the super bowl there a couple of years ago at 3 am in the morning, there was enough ex-pats interested (15 of us) they opened for us.......one of the best time I've ever had. Also Cowboy Grille is right there, great dining and bars in the immediate area. Final comments.....overall, you can not beat the price of this hotel and what they offer!! Along with the level of excellence that they provide day in and out. The service is extraordinary in my humble opinion, and I'll be back here later this year. No issues with the internet in general, it does slow down during early evening hours somewhat only due everybody being on it, but I was still able to book a flight with Cebu Pacific, it just took a little longer for the pages to load. Please feel free to message me if you have a question or need advice.

    « Happy Customer »

We had a good stay in your hotel. Very nice and clean room as well as the comfort room. Your staffs are very friendly and accommodating also. One of kuya even assisted us and show us the way going to a good Korean restaurant for our dinner. One thing me and my husband noticed though that there very few/limited choice of food for the buffet breakfast. Nevertheless, we are so great full with your services especially customer service. Requested for a especial setup to surprise my hubby on his bday, when we opened the door we are ver surprise with the sinple yet beautiful decor few balloons and chocolates.. ?? If I had to go back and stay in Manila, I will definitely stay in this hotel again. ??

    « A good place to stay. »

This hotel which is well above average for the price, is within walking distance, of Robinsons ( a huge shopping mall ). The American Embassy, and many tourist attractions, bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is friendly, clean and comfortable, The buffet breakfast is excellent and freshly cooked bacon and eggs are available on request.

    « Nice, convenient Hotel »

Nice hotel with good breakfast, which is a western style if that is what you are wanting . The rooms are clean and tidy however the window rattler air conditioning can get a bit noisy. Good location walking distance to Robinson's Mall and restaurants

    « Good hotel »

I went there on may 2018. Good hotel, friendly employee and good breakfast but the room seems a bit small, others then that its just awesome. Good location as well near to shopping mall and near to ocean.

« Anniversary was so much fun! »

We went here last April 14 for our 10th anniversary. We stayed for a night only since my boyfriend will be leaving a day after for Malaysia. We booked for a superior through Agoda but wad upgraded for a deluxe room upon check in (Thanks to my dear friend). We checked in around 8pm as we still need to run some errands hours prior. When we ran into the room, we were surprised that they have prepared a greeting for us with chocolates on it saying Happy Anniversary. Room was well lit and very spacious. The toilletries were all complete. Clean and well maintained room. The bed was so soft even the blankets and pillows. I have been through a lot of hotels before and I can say that this one is exceptional in terms of comfortability and awesomeness. Whats most rewarding about our stay is the breakfast. Me and my boyfriend really love taking breakfast. And we want our breakfasts to be the best (thats out fave meal of the day haha). They offer buffet breakfast and meals were exceptional. We loved our staycation here. We loved our anniversary. We looked forward to many more staycations. ??

« Home away from home »

Home away from home in Manila. From arrival to departure the staff really go out of their way to be helpful. From arrival staff are present to collect your luggage and transport it to the lobby. Check in is quick and painless to travelers. Assistance with luggage to your room is provided with a smile. The rooms are for the most part immaculate, stocked with necessities and comfortable. Breakfast is tasty with a good selection served piping hot.

« Quality service, good food, clean room and affordable hotel »

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights . The hotel is quite old and small but well maintained. Service is accommodating starting from reception, they greeted me with a smile, with explanation of room and amenities, luggage assistance from the bellman and even the manager Mr. Bong was very helpful and accommodating. On my first day AC was Brocken but promptly fixed and to my surprise it was Mr. Bong again assisting me with my concern and asking me if there is anything that he can do to assist me and make my stay comfortable, what a gesture coming from the boss! Breakfast was superb with Delicious flavoured food, the manager Mr. Bong came to my table to ensure that i am enjoying my meal, no doubt Waiters are very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Thank you Best Western Manila for the wonderful stay. I will definitely come back! See you soon.

« Hidden Gem in the City!! »

After several stay in Manila including Makati - This has become our families FAV! Great Staff- Great Suites - Great Breakfast. Most important GREAT VALUE - Like this area for several reasons, close to US Embassy and close to waterfront walkway for outside exercise. This property also has a fair and truthful transportation staff with nice cars and SUVs for short or long runs!

    « Clean but noisy »

The hotel staff here were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean. On arrival we upgraded at reception for free. However the air con in our room was quite noisy and because we were situated at the fe not of the hotel the noise from traffic was quite loud.

« Pleasant stay in pleasant hotel with friendly, helpful staff. »

Pleasant stay in hotel with friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast buffet with opportunity to order omelets and bacon (pancakes and waffles were also available, but we did not try them). Very good value for money.

    « Older But Comfortable »

The service was excellent from check in to check out. Dropped my bags, went sight seeing and came back to a comfortable, clean room with lots of amenities...fridge, kettle, safe, newspapers. Breakfast was excellent! The hotel is in a built of a rough area, so caution as you move about. It is older and could stand some upgrades. That said, everything works and is maintained. As expected for the price.

    4
    « Hidden Gem »

Good location, it's about 5-10 mins walk to Morrison's Mall. We really enjoyed our stay here, everything worked really well and the staff were superb. The hotel is not easy to find as it's a fairly small hotel, but it is very well run. WiFi was excellent, tv, shower, AC all worked very well and we will definitely consider staying here again if we are in the area again. Really good value for money. Oh by the way, you need to use your thumb (as if you're being fingerprinted) to call the lift. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the enjoyable stay!

« Pleasant and Just right »

I did a hosting and little me time here January 21, 2018. I find it neat and pleasant, but its quite small and hard to find, their ballroom is good, though DJ is so bad that they can`t comply with my requirements and a girl attendant is a little annoying. But the coffee at their restaurant is great! the room is tidy and comfortable, i just don`t get if their western as the name is western, because they have Javanese interiors and displays. Overall its a must try! the food is average, the service is quite well aside from some attitude towards guests by few selected staff.

    « Good value »

Centrally located. Few minutes walk to Robinson Mall, and 15 minutes walk to Rizal Park and Intramuros. Taxi fee from/to Manila Airport Terminal 3 costs around 200-300 pesos while a hotel car 750 pesos. We loved everything, free wifi, hot shower, waxed floor, elevator, bottled water in room, newspaper in common area, friendly receptionist and staff, complimentary breakfast - decent coffee, fresh fruit, omelet upon request, but croissants were stale. Had massage in our room, felt like a queen. And it was inexpensive - 600 pesos for 60 minutes! Only 50USD/night was a great deal in high season. Definitely will stay again, with my earplugs:)

« Good hotel good location »

Good location in the hotel. The rooms were small but very fresh. The bathroom was good and clean. The breakfast was typical filipino style, there was a lot to choose from. Friendly staff. Check in and check out went smoothly. Will stay here next time I visit Manila

« Family and friends group of 9 »

Right down town and 5 minute walk to Robinson Mall. Great location although be warned some locals have to sleep rough. Hotel clean and well presented. Staff extremely helpful. Room satisfactory and in-room safe useful. Free wi-fi acceptable. Buffet breakfast good. If you want a good standard then this Best Western checks the boxes.

    « Excellent service »

Back again to Best Western La Corona in the Philippines. Older hotel but very well up kept. Rooms are large, complimentary breakfast is always nice, restaurant was remodeled and it added a few more seats. Food quality was good. They cut back on a few items to the breakfast but it's understandable cause of the rising cost of doing business. The main items are still there which is important, your eggs, protein, vegetables, salad, breakfast pastries.... can't complain. Always nice to return to this charming hotel. It's the charm and the workers that make this hotel exceptional. I would have to say it's the direction of the GM who would motivate and keep the staff. Keep up the good work.

    « Best Stay Ever »

I have already a written a review for this hotel and only one word can summarize our experience: OUTSTANDING. I strongly suggest staying in Best Western Hotel La Corona Manila if you and your family or friends want to relax and have a pleasurable stay in Manila. With numerous tourist locales like Intramuros, Luneta, and Ocean Park Manila, your vacation will truly be a memorable one.

« Good hotel in good location »

Stayed here for 2 nights. Lovely hotel with clean modern room and comfy bed. Buffet breakfast with egg and bacon cooked on order. Helpful and friendly staff. A few bars and restaurants nearby. Walking distance to Rizal Park and harbour. Would stay here again.

    « Good value »

Our stay at the hotel was good, the room was clean, the staff are very friendly. Check-in and check-out was smooth. This was our second time staying at this hotel, we stayed here in Feb 2017 and then Jan 2018. The only complaint would be is the buffet breakfast has gone down the hill. The selection of food has pretty much been cut in half from the last time we stayed there, it was a real disappointment because the selection was pretty good when we stayed there in Feb 2017. If you do stay there try to get a floor on the upper levels at the street noise is significant.

« Location good for airport. Great service. Sketchy district »

Good hotel if you are transiting for a day or two in Manila. Very friendly staff (Specifically Ms Karen and Paula at the front desk!) I replaced all my credit cards prior to arriving and was having issues with them while checking in. The staff were very helpful in assisting me in getting checked into my room. I was always greeted upon entering and exiting the building. Very professional and the staff at the lobby created a great atmosphere at all times. Wifi - I had trouble logging onto the wifi with my Iphone but I was able to log on using my tablet and computer so it wasn't a big deal. Room was ok. Good enough to have a good nights sleep and the air con was very powerful and cold. Breakfast - I loved their breakfast set! Real traditional filipino food and it was tasty! Location - location is close to the airport as well as the US Embassy. There were homeless people all along the streets but they were never threatening and I felt safe walking around at night all alone. A few convenient stores open 24/7 as well as currency exchange shops and bars. Overall, the Best Western La Corona fulfilled all my expectations. I would gladly stay here again if I had a layover for the price i paid!

« Great stay at a quality hotel chain »

We stayed here for 3 nights after returning from Boracay. The very kind reception staff allowed us to leave our luggage in their storage for 4 days prior to our check in date. When we arrived at the hotel check in was handled by friendly and attentive reception staff. The room was a very good size and had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. Wifi was very fast and worked with no problems at all. Loads of TV channels to choose from. The breakfast buffet was really good each morning with a good selection to choose from. The hotel was in a good location and there was a shopping centre even within walking distance. As it was the Christmas period the hotel was very nicely decorated. We had no complaints and we would be happy to stay here again.

    2
    « Tired and professional »

Old hotel. Strange to see seemingly normal tourists in this part of Manila, or you might say this part of the world. Perhaps they are all philanthropists. If so, you are most welcome. Del Pilar as a location is not the slums of course, but families with small children sleeping in the gutter are the sad price to pay for staying in this part of town. BW occupies a building that has really never seen better times. The management have made some attempts to plaster of the cracks with some decoration of the rooms. The furniture interestingly remains turn of the century, though I hesitate to suggest which one. The breakfast was about right for a BW hotel. The reception desk representative was professional - read "perfunctory". Thanks, but more modern properties along the same street offer a better vibe. Views? Yes - it's part of the form. What you see is material that should help supplement your own view for the future of this planet.

Whenever I visit the Philippines, I always stay in BWHLCM. Most case, I stay there for my business purpose, but whenever I stay there, I really feel in my house. All of the staff including OJT are giving me excellent services. I cannot imagine that I stay in any other hotel. I love La Corona and I really appreciate all of persons concerned. maraming salamat po.

    « short stay--2 nights »

This was a very nice place to stay while in the Ermita area. I am in the Philippines until March 21st and I'm a Best Western Rewards member, so I thought I'd try it. The room was clean and neat, quiet as well. There wasn't much noise, either.

    « Great Location »

Chose this hotel for its location within walking distance of SLEC and the US Embassy. Also a short walk to Robinson Mall and some nearby restaurants. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. I included the buffet breakfast which was quite good. Plenty of choices. The neighborhood may seem sketchy to many American visitors but no real danger. Never felt unsafe. Just use common sense.

    5
    « Very good »

Very good location, and in same block as the very popular Cowboy Grill and many others resto and bars. Walking distance to Robinson Mall. The staff very helpful and one of the few hotel with very nice breakfast buffet

« LA Corona hotel in Manila is convenient and safe »

Close to mall of Asia and USA EMBASSY. Great breakfast. Professional staff always. The air conditioners are quiet. Very close to a 7-11. I've stayed here several times. Popular with many Americans. Taxis hailed within 5 minutes of requests.

« Ok room but really noisy! »

Stayed here 3 nights. Would have left sooner if hadnt paid the stay beforehand. Cheapest superior room is ok, thought little dark. Location of the hotel on a really busy road made our room incredibly noisy, you can hear jeepneys driving all night long and its like there is no walls at all. So hard to sleep. Tried to change rooms but they were fully booked. On breakfast the omelett guys really dont seem to know what they are doing, had to order an omelett 3 times before it arrived. Bfast is quite basic otherwise also. So if you want to sleep invest a little more and stay elsewhere.

Had a chance to stay here with family. The hotel is easy to locate being just a few blocks from US embassy. Rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. Everyone is very accommodating and made our stay more memorable. Food is also good especially the breakfast! Highly recommend this place if you want value for money and quality customer service. Kudos to everyone!

I have always stayed at BW La Coruna Hotel when I'm in Manila. It is very convenient for my needs. It is just next to Ermita Church for Sunday mass. The mall is 3 blocks away and there are several convenience store around it. The PUJ also passes along the street where it is located.

Looking for a place to stay yet you still feel at home?. Best Western Hotel La Corona Manila is the answer. Still feel at home because of their friendly and helpful staff. A room that is very comfortable and very peaceful to stay. Hungry? try their food at the 1155 bistro bar it is very delectable and very affordable. I will definitely come back to this place.

    « Remarkable experience »

I would say that this is the best place in Manila. My home sweet home while i'm away from my family. Booking directly to them makes it more easy with the help of the lovely reservations staff and of course not to mention their diligent general manager Tet. Upon arrival you would feel the warmth welcome of the bell staff and front office team and I would say that the service was quite impressive. Went at the restaurant to try their menu line-up and I should say they have a great taste! Crispy Pata is a must try! so delicious! and also their baby back ribs! a mouth-watering meal once served. Worrying about things to do in manila? nothing to worry for they also have contact drivers and travel agency to take you to the best places that they have for you to explore. I would definitely come back here! ??

    « Find another place »

I actually didn't stay in the hotel. I cancelled the reservation upon arrival. They have the worst service ever. I arrived around 2 PM, tired from a long flight. Check-in time is at 2:00 PM. I asked if I could check-in already but the lady says she will check with the housekeeping and get back with me. I waited around 15 minutes and asked if the room is ready again. The lady said unfortunately its not because they had a group last night and most of checked out at 1:00 PM. I asked if I could check-out late too to compensate my stay at least she insisted. Its around 2:45 but my room was still not ready. Everybody in the lobby was waiting for their room. I used their wifi and its not working. I was seated in the dining area and geez the table cloth its all dirty and full of stains. The glass that surrounds the building is full of dirt it seems like its not washed for a year. The area is not safe. Again, it is not safe. It is located in a crowded place of Manila. Outside were brothels and clubs. Be careful and warry as well of snatchers. There is no crowd control in the lobby since rooms are not yet ready and their is an event on going. My only concern is that the Front Desk staffs were not well trained. I was infront of them waiting for the response but they keep on pretending that they were on the phone or looking on the screen or sometimes hide at the back office. The manager, Tess, keep on hiding at the back office as well and wont face me. I know there is a room available at the time but only suite rooms left as one of the ladies mentioned but I was not offered even though I am a Gold Member of BW. I cancelled instead and find a new place. I'd hesitate and wont stay again. Find a new place rather!!!

    « Nice »

We stayed here for a week, the staff was very nice & accommodating. The Hotel is cheap & clean. Location is a pretty bad area but we were fine. The US Embassy is a 5 min walk across the street we ended up having an issue while on vacation and spend a lot of time at the embassy thankfully it was so close by. Traffic is horrible anywhere in Philippines especially around this hotel. Overall we would stay here again. A big bonus is they have AC!!!!

I enjoyed my stay a great deal. Rooms were nice, breakfast buffet was superb and location was close to Rizal Park. The bed was comfy. The shower was the only disappointment but I did not rent the room for the shower.

« Always a comfortable and safe stay. »

I regularly stay at this hotel approximately 20 days per year when I'm in Manila. The service from the door personnel, front desk staff, security and restaurant crew makes me feel welcome like an old friend. We generally have stayed at the hotel at the beginning and end of my time in The Philippines.

« Good Location for US Visa Applicants »

Located withing short walking distance of the US Embassy and St Luke's Hospital Extension for US visa applicants. Rooms are clean and the buffet breakfast is fine for the price. Employees attitude covered the whole spectrum but for the most part are okay. NOTE: DO NOT use the trikes in the area as you will absolutely be ripped off at least 50% of the time. A 60 PHP quoted fare turned into a 300 PHP fare for this writer.

« Nice rooms with good amenities (AirCon, Safe, Cable channels,coffee/tea, minibar), location is central (for Ermita) »

I will not hesitate to book this hotel again if and when I want to stay in the Ermita/Malate area. If you do not expect much of a view and do not require use of a swimming pool then this hotel will likely do the job in a satisfactory manner. Included breakfast is "buffet style" but do not expect "gourmet food", this is Philippines. Soundproofing could be adequate almost everywhere in the world but in Ermita "some vehicles" (which should not be allowed on roads) are way too noisy.

Stayed in this hotel for a night, overall services was great, food has a wide variety and delicious, however they just need to make sure that the internet connection should not be intermittent. Overall service is great, staff are polite and professional.

    « Great service »

I have stayed at several hotels in this area and the Best Western is by far the best value for money. The only reason I have not stayed more is that I normally travel at short notice and there are no vacancies when I try to book. The staff are extremely helpful and polite and I normally get an upgrade free. Check in and out are handled well and I have always found the staff will go out of its way to assist with any problems I may have. The restaurant is currently undergoing a renovation so breakfast was room service only. the offering was restricted and was of average quality but this was only a small issue. There are plenty of great alternatives in this area. I would certainly recommend a stay there to family and friends.

Come and experience Best Western Corona Hotel. A place where it is very convenient to guest. BW Corona Hotel is the best location of your stay. It located at 1166 M. H. Del Pilar St, Ermita, Manila, 1004 Metro Manila, Philippines.

« Very good staff, but other not so good for me... »

The staff here were very good, but the hotel is in a rough area. The condition is quite run down, although the staff keep it very clean. I feel that Best Western is at fault here, because this hotel should be revitalized if they are to keep it within their brand. The price point is quite good, and I do not regret trying it for one night, but would not stay again. On the other hand, I am a 51 yo business owner who stays at Hiltons and Mariotts. If I was 25 or 30, and money was tight, I would like this place because you can feel safe. So it depends on the client. Also be aware that the bed is very hard!

Very good hotel, recommended, but in a neighborhood that is a bit less! Room and service perfect but night environment sometimes noisy (karaoke ...) and uninspiring. Despite this, great quality for the price.

    « Very helpful staff!! »

The place is good, near the USA embassy and quite near PGH. My husband came from a doctor's visit and he got dizzy as we were near the lobby. My husband vomited and GIARD LASTIMOSA and a certain SIR VICTOR?? ( tall man) Placed him in a wheel chair and carried him up to our room, (elevator till 5th floor only, so they had to carry him to the 6th floor). They would not want to accept any cash appreciation! That was when I knew they meant to really help, the sincerity of it! Early next day, we had the hotel shuttle for a fee, the driver Jojo also put us at ease. We know how cab/taxi or even Grab and Uber can be demanding. The hotel is not new, but staying there was safe and they took care of us!

« Another Wonderful Experience with BW La Corona Manila »

Nice place. Well situated within Manila's tourist destination spots. Fantastic service and courteous staff. Best Western La Corona Manila never fails to satisfy my family's expectations from a 4-star hotel. From wonderful hotel staff to meticulously maintained guest rooms, no guest/s will feel unattended and uncomfortable during his/her/their stay. I strongly recommend Best Western La Corona Manila to any individual or family or group of friends to lodge in and enjoy professional treatment and , at the same time, experience Manila's finest array of popular destinations for leisure (i.e. Robinson's Errmita) and relaxation (i.e. Luneta, Manila Ocean Park, etc).

    « Good location »

They ran out of the superior rooms that we booked so we were upgraded to King Suite on our first night. Room was big with a living area and 2 TVs. Room looked dark in dark brown timber walls and furnishings and some parts of wall were covered in large flowery wallpaper. There is shortage of power points which come in pairs of 110 or 220V. There was only 1 bedside table power point that was usable but that was used for the clock radio and another was used by the study table lamp. We had to pack our bags early before we went out for the day as we were put back on superior room for the 2nd night. The room was tiny with hardly any space to put our luggages. Damp used towels were just folded and hung back on the railing. Bathroom mat was not changed instead was just folded up on the floor. Only 1 power point was available that was already used by study table light.

The entire staff are just remarkable and always smiling and are in a good mood no matter what time of the day. The breakfast and dinner menu was outstanding. I set my alarm every morning at 6:30 so that I didn't miss out on the delicious complimentary breakfast. The pancakes, bacon, and eggs were awesome. That's one of the reasons I come here every month...you in October Best Western Lacorona.

    « not bad of a hotel »

hotel is small...around 50+ rooms total. where i was, room is decent and clean, lighting was one of the problems, a little too dark for me. the hotel still has (old school) a ref. filled with different kinds of drinks and a corner table filled with snacks and treats, of course all for a fee. a breakfast buffet (limited food) was included and food was salty, orange juice was from a fountain, made from the powdered kind and really sweet. good thing is that it is close to the US embassy, a mall is within walking distance, just watch where you walk as there is not much sidewalk left...go figure, and the neighborhood seems a bit sketchy to me. overall, 4star for the staff being friendly and the hotel clean.

« Clean, roomy and fine »

Room was spacious and clean. Bed was too springy for my liking. Shower pressure was excellent, lovely hot water, decent amenities, downside was shower water got the whole bathroom floor wet. Mini fridge with drinks stocked - but many many convenience stores around to buy drinks and snacks from. Having never stayed in Ermita, was a bit taken aback by the poverty in the surrounding streets, with people sleeping on cardboard boxes in front of shops. Dark alleys also made us nervous and we ended up taking Grab car (like Uber) to avoid. Not far from Robinsons Place, which is a decent sized shopping mall and has supermarket for all requirements. Breakfast buffet was not to our liking and we only ate there once in our 3 night stay. A few Filipino dishes, some egg dishes, danishes, toast, ham (that looked like spam) etc and was not very appetising. Our room service order was also not to our taste. The chicken adobo was dry and the pizza inedible and spat out. I would avoid in future and eat out before returning to hotel. Otherwise, clean, comfy enough, friendly staff and good value.

Service was excellent. The suite I stayed in for 2 nights was clean and the breakfast was not bad at all.. Just an inside tip for breakfast. Bacon, pancakes, waffles are available upon request and they provide generous portions. Only a short distance to the US embassy. The area itself does not look inviting but overall was safe. I walked it at night to grab a late dinner. For the price, its a steal... Highly recommended

    « Excellent Hotel »

I usually do not submit reviews for hotels as I hold elite memberships of 3 different hotel programs with my travel being more than 150 nights a year, its too much of work writing reviews. However, Best Western La Corona was such an amazing experience that I decided to write this review so its helpful to other travelers. This is my 3rd time staying in this hotel and I'm still very much impressed with their service. - The hotel was so close to everything and anything I wanted to see or get, given the Manila traffic the location is ideal close to a big mall, restaurants, 24/7 seven eleven almost next door - Rooms and Toilets are very clean. The bed was very comfortable - Breakfast and internet are super awesome given the price you pay for it - The food, the service was incredible. I often used their restaurant and was impressed with the quality of food - The only thing was Diamond Member upgrade which I"m sure they will accommodate if there's availability

Best Western Hotel La Corona Manila "Perfect Example of how a good hotel should be!!" Most friendly and helpful receptionist ever, so lovely and great first impression of hotel. Great staff that know the true value of customer service special mention for reception and the restaurant first class service. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. We heard absolutely no street noise despite being facing onto a busy road. I could go on but suffice it to say I was very pleased with my stay, and although short and sweet this time, I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

Great and affordable place to stay if your happy being out of Makati. Close to Robinsons Mall, US Embassy. Deluxe room featured a large firm bed with clean linen. Well stocked mini bar and snacks. Room was very clean and shower was powerful and hot Usual window box air conditioner - Manila style was working well Complimentary internet was snappy. Staff very courteous and friendly. Breaky was the only average point, little selection of fresh fruit and that sweet bread???? Taxi fare from airport was 250 pesos, Makati 200 pesos. Driver to airport 750 pesos plus 45 if you wanted the toll road 7/11, McDonald's and pubs close-by. Another 10 min walk and you have the eateries at the mall. Careful at night especially on the way to mcds, loads of kids looking for money. All in all great value for money.

I stayed for one night in this hotel last July 6,2017 since I had an interview appointment at the US Embassy the next day . Rooms were a bit dated and dark . Everything was in good working order and breakfast was quite good and decent for the price that I paid for . Staff were friendly and helpful. When I checked out , Housekeeping even returned the mobile phone charger I left behind . Thank you .

« Strictly for "Thrill" seeking solo travellers, the staff and facilities are a bonus! »

The hotel in itself is decent, well maintained, the staff are accommodating and the buffet breakfast was at the best decent and kept running out where you have to wait. The problem I had was that I later found out that this is a red light district with prostitutes and hawkers all over not giving you a good feeling go out after 6pm...Worst part, I was approached by the bell boy of the hotel if I was interested in an evening partner...that was three strikes for there is a reason I picked this hotel, cos it "best western". I noticed that guests were bringing in girls without an issue and for someone like me, travelling for the first time to Manila...gave me a poor impression of the city itself. There are renovations going on, so I could hear jack hammer sounds during day time ONLY! Next time, I am choosing a different neighborhood!

I took the executive suite and deluxe room at BW La Corona last June 2017 to celebrate father's day with my hubby. The first one has private jacuzzi where all four of us can enjoy. The other room is for the kids to sleep over.We had a blast especially that the jacuzzi is all ours. It was really relaxing! The buffet breakfast was also good with ample selection. The staff in general are attentive to our needs. You are also paying your money's worth in this hotel. I recommend it as it is very near Robinson's place Manila and other important attractions in the area.

went here a few year back to meet my future wife. met my girlfriend online and we arranged to meet up at this hotel. the location of this hotel is not too far away from the airport, and also near to many attractions. The people in the hotel were very friendly and hosting. there was a lot to choose from for breakfast if you opted in for it. I had a good and pleasant experience there.

All the staff was exceptional, didn't catch the one guys name , but the tall guy that wore the blue , would see us and bring my milk, bacon, & pancakes every morning that was not on the buffet without me even asking for it ! , we ( 3 Adults 1 Toddler) stayed there 13 nights, they also upgraded our room when we first checked in , I have no idea why, this was the best customer service iv ever received from any hotel!

    « A Worthy Staycation Venue »

Staff were accommodating and informative, and everyone served us with a smile. Hotel was also clean, and bed was very comfortable. All my concerns were attended to, and dealt with - such as the need for change in batteries for the DVD player, additional coffee packets and toiletries, adjustment of refrigerator, and ice for my coffee during breakfast. Overall I think the charge was worth it.

« Good value for money, excellent room & resto food »

Stayed in a quiet Deluxe room at the back of hotel, facing away from main street - which I actually requested for. Smooth and quick check-in (about 10mins I think), although I prepaid/booked for my stay a few weeks in advance. Be ready with PhP 1,500 refundable deposit for incidentals (normal for most PH hotels). Although hotel exterior and lobby look a bit dated, the guest room and bathroom looked recently renovated - very cozy and nice, and excellently maintained. I believe they even have regular pest-control treatments because their rooms use a lot of wood furniture. (Kudos to the housekeeping staff, because the room and bathroom were very clean - not a speck of dust/dirt, and linens and towels smelled really nice.) The AC is window-type, hums a bit, but in perfect condition. I'm not bothered about the noise, because I'm used to these types of AC-hum, it even kind of lulls me to sleep. :) Wifi relatively fast. I really enjoyed the food of the hotel's resto. And room service is relatively fast, normally takes them approx. 40 minutes. Breakfast was buffet style, but not a lot of choices. Maybe next time, I'll just book a room w/o breakfast, and order from the resto's menu - I love their Pinoy Eggs Benedict btw. Overall, excellent stay and would probably go back within the year. Oh upon check out, they'll try and entice you to become a member of Best World chain of hotels. Membership is free, you just need to fill up a form. They claim they'll beat the best price other booking sites (such as Agoda, Expedia, etc.) offer you, and even take PhP 200 off. Might try this to see if it's true - on the next booking.

« Value for money and superb customer service »

I got a good deal in Agoda and was pretty much satisfied on how my stay went. This hotel is one of the best in Ermita/Malate area. It is generally clean, but the problem is, housekeeping isn't very particular. There was a dead cockroach in my bathroom and it left some gross marks. After two housekeepings, the marks were still there - which means they really don't clean the bathroom floor well. I didn't report it because it doesn't really affect my everyday use of the toilet. That was my only issue, I guess. The wifi was functional most of the time and kinda fast. The breakfast was okay, because I've had better ones. Nevertheless, it was good value because it's free! The staff at the restaurant was also very attentive and the bell boys were all smiles. The customer service was pretty much the reason why I consider staying again.

First time i stayed here and also my first time coming to Manila to enjoyed Britney Spears Concert. I stayed here within two nights 14-16 June 2017.. The location was perfect. Really near with Intramuros, Robinson Mall, Cafe, Bar, snacking place, groceries, etc.. 30 minutes to SM MOA Arena and airport. The staff was really helpful and understand what i needed. I arrive at 23,00 and the reception staff name Paula was explained me the hotel surrounding atmosphere. Which is am about to catch a late dinner. The room was a boutique thing, i love the room. Clean and had a good hot shower. The breakfast was good. I love the taste of the egg. Reccomended for my next manila visit..

I stayed in this property 4 times in October and November 2016. Every visit was wonderful. The front desk clerk everytime I check in was Camille. She's very nice and helpful as well. Other than her, there was also the bellman who was so kind but I forgot his name. Breakfast is great, rooms were clean. It's just beside Ermita Catholic church, Jollibee and Mang Inasal are just across the street (both my favourite) and Robinsons mall is just 8-10mins walk. I really enjoyed my stay here! Thank you BW La corona :)

    « Not impressed »

My family and I just stayed here. In canada this hotel is branded and in most cities. They have this outdated hotel policy that if you use points and another payment method, for multiple days stay, then you are required to check out each time. Very rediculous because check in is 2pm and they would not allow us to just stay in the room. No we had pack all of our stuff back up into our suitcases! The staff had no common-sense and certainly didnt make us feel welcome. Why make a guest move out of a room between their days of stay? Change your policy. Aside from that the rooms were somewhat clean, but loud due to there being some kind of disco hall outside. Bring ear plugs. The elevator goes to the 4th floor only and is tiny. The room interiors are outdated. The staff in the restaurant were friendly. Above all of this our friends told us its in a bad part of town. I gave it 3 stars. Seen better and the staff reception had a poor attitude.

This is quite a nice hotel, very nice entrance and welcoming staff. Restaurant offers very good food, and room was modern, beds were comfortable and no noise (or light) from the outside allowed us to sleep in. The A/C however was located between the beds... and not too quiet. Breakfast (buffet) was quite nice. This is not close to the airport.

I have stayed here a few times, and my recent visit was one of the best. It seems like more of the rooms have been renovated since I was last here. Nice, modern, comfortable and clean. The staff are very nice and friendly. It is close to a lot of night life, if U like that kind of thing, I do, and felt comfortable walking there at night. But some of you might not. No worries, taxis are plentiful and easy to find. Breakfast was good. I'll be back

very clean and modern rooms! great service in the hotel. restaurant has good menu service can take forever especially in the evening when its less busy! the morning buffet was basic i thought but that is just my opinion. for first timers to the Philippines its not in a bad neighborhood its just manila its old and dirty! for the cost i thought it was a great value. i had no problems with noise or anything. i will stay here again.

« Keep on coming back »

We are this hotel now for years, and will not change as it has all you need. Clean, good breakfast, safe and nice staff. In case a taxi driver say he can not find it, just tell them behind Cowboy Grill Mabini street, and if he does not know that place please change driver. I have stayed over 20 times and will continue coming back. To all the staff heads up you are all great. Small recommendation; Make sure that the windows can be closed 100%, if you come from far and need to sleep the sun becomes your enemy, but again this was maybe only in my room, and will not stop me coming back

« I had another great stay here. »

I stayed at the Best Western La Corona for one night (April 30, 2017) before my flight back to the USA. This hotel is consistently good and I have never had any big problems here. LOCATION: Most taxi drivers do not know where the hotel is, but I think that most are looking for an excuse to make the trip longer. Just tell them to go to the US Embassy via Roxas Boulevard and that will get you very close. Since I arrived on a busy Sunday afternoon, and there was road construction, I had the taxi take Mabini Street to the Cowboy Grill. Once there you walk down the alley at Arquiza Street, and you are at the front door. It is very easy and the cost of the taxi was only PHP 183 ($3.65). CHECK-IN: Check-in was a little slow because the lone receptionist was on the telephone for about 5 minutes. I stood there and she did not look up until the call was finished. After that, things went quickly and we were in Room 503. ROOM: The room was big, clean, and comfortable. The room had a refrigerator, safe and very strong air conditioning. They have rain showerheads that are wonderful. I loved the room and the strong WIFI. BREAKFAST: Breakfast now starts at 6:30 a.m. which means that I had to leave before we could eat. Instead we walked to the 7 Eleven and got some drinks and food. All in all, things were fine. SECURITY: I have stayed in this hotel more than 10 times and security is very good. For the first time, my girlfriend was stopped when we got to the hotel and asked for her ID. My reservation was for two people and she met me for dinner after she finished work. I have never been stopped like that before and I suspect it had to do with the older Australian man signing in two young ladies in various states of provocative clothing. It was not a problem and it only took a few seconds. It was just the first time that this had happened to me, but I understand they need to treat everyone the same. There is only one thing that I would recommend for the doormen. When they get a taxi for the airport, make sure they insist that he use the meter. I am tired of the drivers attempting to scam me for what should be about a 200 PHP fare. When we left for the airport, we loaded the bags and directed him to start the meter. He said flat fee 400 PHP and I demanded that he stop and let us out. Finally, he turned on the meter and looked pissed off. What a jerk. When I arrived at the airport, he did not get out or help unload the bag. It is the first time in my life that I did not tip someone in the Philippines.

« Good, but could be better »

+ the check in procedure for us was fast - they want a deposit if you damage some things (up to now I knew that procedure from Indonesian hotels only) + Room is nice, must have been renovated recently -- the aircondition is terrible. It's not silent, you can hear the fan always. No possibility to do anything remotely. The last time I had this, was in a cheap hotel in Madrid, Spain 25years ago... + Restroom is nice + WiFi is fast and free +- breakfast buffet is average. There are not many different things, so if you stay longer it will be boring + the egg station, they do fresh omelets like you want + the service staff in the breakfast area is very friendly and fast +- the location. Some bars/ restaurants are near, but in the evening you will pass sleeping homeless people and begging kids. But you can walk easily to different sightseeing spots. Quite ok, but the aircondition was killing at least one star.

I like this place for my balikbayan honeymoon. Nice breakfast, but they never give egg and bacon my wife order. We still memorize that until today. I need good breakfast to be happy. eggman, come on..

If you are looking for an affordable wedding reception, i highly recommend Best Western Hotel La Corona Manila. They have complete package for weddings and other events. The taste of their food exceeded my expectations. The rooms are a bit small but has an awesome ambiance and of course very affordable. The location is perfect especially for tourist. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. This hotel is worth a try! :)

    « Was Very Good »

The room was good but some trouble with reservation so got a free upgrade from Danca at front desk when I told her of my problems and was thinking of finding a new hotel . I always stay there when im in Manila and they know this . The area is little sketchy if your not into that stuff ....red light distract basicly . The only thing is you cant beat the location . Ask for Gerry to pick you up at airport so you dont get ripped off . Was talking to one guy American (prime targets ) for a hotel car to pick you about is about 13 $ he got soaked for 300 $ haahahaha So ya always ask about stuff before you go anywhere ....do some research or ask Danca for help as she quite helpful and easy on the eyes .

« CLOSE TO RIZAL PARK »

We had a couple of days in Manila so I chose this hotel as it was walking distance to a few interesting places. From the international airport, a taxi fare is between 150p to 400p (make sure it is a metered taxi - there are a lot of people at the airport wanting you to use their transport for a lot more). The hotel is one street back from Roxas Blvd. The check in was efficient and friendly. You will be asked for a cash security - make sure you get your receipt. I had no problem with it being returned when I booked out. There are elevators to get to at least level 5. The room was a good size, the bathroom was clean and the ac worked (bit loud but it was cold). There were plenty of places to see to keep me occupied for the 3 days I was there. Make sure to take a walk to the Robertson Shopping Centre as well as all the usual tourist spots.

« Best Western Hotel for Tourists and Family Getaways »

My family had an overnight stay at Best Western Hotel La Corona last April 8, 2017 and we chose a room with a jacuzzi. The price for the stay was double the amount compared to an ordinary room but it was REALLY WORTH IT! The main room/suite was spacious and so was the bathroom with the jacuzzi in it. All amenities for an enjoyable overnight stay were there. It even had large wardrobe cabinets and a small vault to secure our personal belongings (wallets, jewelry, etc). It was truly an amazing stay and, considering that this was my family's fourth trip to this hotel, we will be more than glad to book again and request for this room for a longer term. The hotel attendants were very courteous. In fact, the friendly ambiance can be well felt and experienced through other guests' smiles and bubbly character. The place is just as clean and orderly as we expect it to be and the front desk lady attendants were kind, helpful, and respectful as they were pretty and personable. Food was more than average but the manner in which the kitchen staff did their work in satisfying their guests' requests for a pleasant meal was second to none. We had our dinner delivered in our room because it had a decent dining room. Free breakfast was superb and guests were presented with delectable food picks from pancakes and bacon to steamed rice and fresh fruits. They also have toasted bread to accommodate other guests who did not want a heavy breakfast. Air-conditioning was excellent and my family had a pleasant evening in our room. Television provided was LED: one in the main room and one in the bathroom. Imagine yourself watching TV while enjoying a splash in the jacuzzi. WOW! And not only this, the bathroom also had its own air-conditioning unit. Fantastic! The bathroom has a shower room and a toilet which were separate (I really like this feature). Overall, the design of the bathroom alone is more than enough to justify the room rate for an overnight stay. The main room/suite had a queen size bed which can accommodate three people (average Filipino built). Our son was accommodated for free because the hotel practices a "children under 12 come in free" policy. This is one GREAT deal for families on a budget! Both local and international tourists will enjoy their stay at Best Western Hotel La Corona in Manila. Aside from the friendliness of the hotel staff, the best attractions Manila has to offer are nearby. In fact, most especially for international guests, should they decide to visit the mall first, one popular getaway is just ONE JEEPNEY ride away from the the hotel (they would have to take a short walk, though since no jeepneys traverse the hotel's location). I strongly recommend BEST WESTERN HOTEL LA CORONA to anyone who wants to experience five-star hotel accommodation and excellent service at a BUDGET FRIENDLY PRICE. The experience and stay are worth the investment.

    « Very enjoyable stay »

Although the Hotel is part of the Best Western network it seems to be referred to aß 'la corona' only with Cab drivers. Situated in close vicinity to Rizal Park and Intramuros the Hotel is a nice starting point for a Day Trip in Manila. The staff is extraordinarily nice and helpful. Breakfast is of high standard. Our suite was very enjoyable, too. Totally recommendable

« A functional hotel with good rooms but the location isn't safe »

I find this hotel quite average. The rooms are quite nice and spacious, the buffer breakfast is decent, the wifi is functional and the staff is polite. But the location and flexibility in service could be better. It's proximity to Intramuros, Hospitals, restaurants around is a plus. But the exact location and its surrounding areas is quite unsafe. I didn't feel like walking outside the hotel even during day time. Usually best western hotels have a better facade and location. This one loses the point in that area, but once you step inside, it doesn't disappoint. They usually don't accommodate late check outs. Very disappointing, as most hotels would allow you to stay a couple hours after check out timings if not running on full occupancy.

    « Satisfactory- Just! »

The hotel is in a good location but the surrounding streets are poorly lit and don't feel really safe though to be fair there wasn't any issue, just not very nice to walk around. Checking in was quick and easy. Always a good sign. The elevator is very slow and the corridors quite dimly lit. The hotel really needs redecorating. The room was fine. Clean and good size but very tired decor and furnishings Breakfast choice was good with Asian and Western options available. Staff, front office and waiting were excellent. Friendly helpful and professional which influenced me to give a satisfactory rating

« Great place in the heart of everything »

Nice hotel, nice staff of workers. Ryan in the restaurant, Victor at the front door, great front desk staff, and really trustworthy house keeping staff, Gerry the driver with the hotel car service. They make you feel like family. And the hotel is clean and comfortable and close to everything. US Embassy is just a stones throw away. Close to everything.

    « Excellent »

This is a great hotel for the money The room is spotless and the staff take good care of you and help with all you information also give good support to airlines and embassy the staff is above average they really care for you no problem they have a can do attitude I will stay there on my next visit to Manila

    « "Echo chamber" »

Rooms seriously need soundproofing. Constantly dusturbed by people in hallway and guest rooms doors slamming. At least 3 times I went to my room door checking to see if someone had rang my bell only to find out that they had rang the doorbell of an adjacent room. Forget about sleeping in late. Rooms are nice and complimentary breakfast is adequate. It is however, perhaps the best moderately priced hotel in the area staff was helpful and friendly.

    4
« One of the better ones in Ermita »

The hotel itself is quite nice - the surrounding area is kind of dodgy though (as most of Ermita is). It's very close to the Rizal park (Intramuros) and Ocean park - so ideal base if you plan on visiting those. Wifi is very good and available in rooms too.

« Best Western La Corona Hotel »

Hotel was very good, my room was excellent for the value paid, Excellent aircon, clean room, mini bar, safe, large flat screen tv, 2nd floor, lighting good. buffet breakfast same daily however, there is a chef to beat up your desire for anything else, excellent, nice cut fruits different daily, flavored yogurt well worth included in the room charge, room was pretty quite, bed was excellent. The best part I suppose was friendly helpful staff, from reception, housekeeping, security. bellboy etc etc. Get recommendations on places to visit from any of them. Recommendations are worth. Opposite the hotel is a Chicken resto (inasal - I think), and Jolibee, place, and food is extremely cheap. Irmita church is next door, Robinsons is a walking distance, Rozas is a walking distance from the hotel, which connects to the American Embassy, and Manila Bay.

« Best budget hotel near the US embassy. »

Friendly stuff...Great room (203)...Decent breakfast (included). I have nothing to complain about. Can recommend it for anyone on a budget. The area around the hotel might not be you what you expect, but this is Manila. The taxi driver (2) had problems to find the hotel.

    4
« Close to old centre »

We chose this hotel because it is close to the old centre of manila, which it is. But it is also a very poor and run down area (but to be fair manila on the whole is very poor). It felt safe enough through the day but we weren't comfortable going wandering around of a night. The hotel has security on the door so is safe enough. Everything is very clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast very nice. Only problem we had was we arranged for a hotel transfer from the airport as we were arriving late. When we got there they had no record of our booking and we had to wait for half an hour for a driver to arrive. Not what you need after a tiring day travelling.

    3
« They did there best »

Booked hotel transport from airport nothing was arranged when we arrived had to wait 30 minutes while a car was sent out for us. Kettle in room and complimentary bottles of water plus a few toiletries. Bed was quite hard. TVs was good, noisy most of the time, really need your ear plugs. The included breakfast was alright most people could find something to fill up on. The area was a bit rough with quite a few rough sleepers and beggars around, also older western men with very young people. Lots of modern malls and flash apartment blocks mingling with the slums and the traffic was chaotic.

    « Good location »

As part of an International chain you expect good standards. This hotel met them all. The room was clean with everything you expect to find. An Iron and Ironing board were available free on contacting reception. It was only a five minute walk from Manila Bay and a short taxi ride from Ultramarinos. The staff were very friendly and accomodating and transport to the airport can be arranged with their own driver

« I chose the hotel because of tripadvisor »

I had few problems with the hotel and staff. Check in time was suppose to be 2:00PM, We were very tired, it was very hot outside but the front desk said she will check if our reserved room was ready. Around 2:15, I never heard any feedback from her so I had to ask, not her but another clerk about our room. She instead offered me another room because according to her, the occupant hasn't check out yet. I asked her why since check out time was suppose to be 12:00Noon. I said I wanted the room I reserved 3 months ago. A little over 2:40, we were finally checked in. As expected, my daughter loved the bathroom, specifically the bath tub (the very reason I wanted the suite room). I had problems with the smell coming out of the drain in the bathroom. I did not bother to ask since the street where the hotel is located had the same smell. I love the servers at the restaurant. RL (if I am not mistaken) and Jhay. Courteous, attentive and they always see to it all guests were served properly. The bellboy, Jomar (or Jumar) was nice as well. He would always smile to the guests and he clearly explained everything we needed to know about our room. The front desk clerk (not Eunice), the one in black jacket, was very nice, patient, always wear her beautiful smile. Jojo, the hotel driver was a pleasant to talk with and was always available when we needed him. Hotel was close to almost everything. A little hard to locate. Overall experience 8/10.

« The staff are great and the food are amazing! »

I stayed at Room 408 with my family. I rate 5/5 on the overall experience of our stay there. The staff are very approachable, accommodating and friendly. The room has a great ambiance to it and is very comfortable to stay in. We also had breakfast there, and the food are AMAZING! And the waiters and servers are also very accommodating.

« Good Location, Average Hotel »

We stayed here due to the location and because our first choice was not available for a few nights. We would not return. The room was small and tight and the bathroom only has a small shelf under the mirror. Lighting was very poor for my wife to fix her hair. The in-room safe didn't work and the time on the clock was wrong and neither were fixed even though we reported the problems. The Hotel was clean and the staff was accommodating. The breakfast was good. We had a tour one day before the breakfast began and they packed a breakfast to go for us to take. Every time we used our iPhones or iPad we had to re-enter the password which was a royal pain - this was not the case with the other three hotels we have used in the last nine days. And the check-out was very unusual. We had to wait until someone from the staff went and checked the room. Luckily we were not in a hurry. They had a credit card on file and they had run a deposit when we checked in so I'm dumbfounded as to the reason for the delay. There were four of us waiting for the room check so that we could complete the checkout process.

Terrific hotel. Prices are reasonable and the people are friendly and proficient. Met a gentleman named Frank. He stopped by my room to clean up. He never stopped working but he was friendly, respectful, answered my questions, and steered me to a good meal by pointing out Best Westerns fantastic room service. A big thank you to Frank and the whole staff!!

« A very nice introduction to Manila »

I booked 3 nights at the La Corona in Ermita when I was still in Australia on the back of the reviews I had read here in Trip Advisor and I didn't regret it. I think I ended up in a King superior room and it was fully appointed and clean, fully stocked snack and minibar, complimentary bottled water every day. Many services are offered by the motel, some of which I utilised including their laundry service, hotel transport, the free wifi of course. There's plenty of other services including massage, an Internet room, and of course the dining room where I had the complimentary breakfast. I had one evening meal in the dining room and I have to say it's some of the best food I've experienced in the Philippines. If you have mobility issues there's one elevator but it's very modern and speedy, so you're not waiting too long normally. The staff to a man and woman are first class, all very polite and the service is exemplary. Well done team and thank you for making my stay so memorable. A special mention to Don the driver for a fantastic 5 hour tour of Manila. As far as location goes you are close to the popular fast food outlets and a 7/11 just up the street. Then there's any number of bars to cater for your tastes within walking distance. Robinsons mall is a short pedicab ride away too. In summary it is a place I will definitely stay again and would recommend to my family and friends anytime. Probably the best place I've stayed at in my time in the Philippines (this is my second trip). First class.

    « "BEST" Western »

It is comparable to other famous hotel here in Manila. The facilities and the interior of the hotel is classic. I like their lobby, they have a Sungka (base on the guard that I asked) Sungka is a traditional filipino game it was very fun to play we were taught by the bellman and guards which I really appreciate my sister and I love it. The rooms are All of their employees are hospitable, presentable and attentive to the needs of the guest. The cuisines offers in the best western have varieties, from asian to european to American cuisine and it tastes great. I must commend the chefs. I can say that they are truly experienced in the industry by providing superb foods in the breakfast up to the ala carte. The waiters are committed to their job. They are confident with their skills, most especially with the skill on how to deal with different types of guest. If I'm going to have a chance to recommend hotels to my friends and relatives, Best western is on top of my list.

« Nice hotel, friendly staff, sketchy neighbourhood »

I spent a week at La Corona and found it to be a comfortable base for my visit to Manila. The hotel itself is clean and well appointed. My room was comfortable. The wifi was fast and reliable until the last 24 hours, when it went down completely (apparently an external problem beyond the control of the hotel). I found all of the staff to be friendly and extremely polite, greeting me every time we passed one another. The food in the restaurant was of a good quality but service is somewhat slow. The hotel is located in the Ermita district which is a rather sketchy, run-down neighbourhood. I never felt unsafe walking around the neighbourhood, day or night, and considered it to be an insight into the life of Manila residents. But I suspect that some people would feel uncomfortable in the area.

« We celabrated our 35 wedding anniversary at the Best Western La Corona »

When we arrived at the hotel they had our room all fixed up with flowers & balloons for our 35 wedding anniversary, my wife was totally surprised. The look on her face was priceless she loved it as I knew she would. The hotel staff is just the Best they really took care of us. We have been staying there for many years on our trips to Manila and we intend on staying there for many years to come. The girls at the front desk at check-in & check-out are just the best.

    « Near US embassy »

I booked for 10 days for my US visa interview. This is walking distance to the US embassy and SLEC. There are variety of foods for breakfast. It is decent enough for the price. The employees are jolly and courteous. My only concern is that they don't change the bedsheets everyday.

    « Anniversary Surprise »

Went here with my wife for our anniversary. Had to surprise her with flowers and rose petals on the bed. The staff were kind enough to let me decorate the room on my own (Not that it's hard). « Over night stop »

We stopped here twice within a week after spending some time in Manila prior to going to Boracay and on our return prior to flying back to the UK. We've stayed in several Best Western hotels and this is probably the worst so far as we usually find they are of a good standard. On the first occasion we stopped here we had very little sleep as the room was single glazed by the main road and traffic didn't stop all night. The TV wasn't able to pick any channels and we were told it was being sorted the next day as it was a temporary problem but when we came back six days later, we were in different rooms and the problem was still the same. We asked for a quiet room next time however although we'd booked a double room they gave us a twin instead but we weren't able to hear the traffic. On both occasions we were offered a complementary soft drink on arrival but unfortunately they didn't arrive. My husband sent some items to the laundry for when we returned to the hotel but they put our original room number on the items and not our name and it took some time trying to locate the items. After chasing reception several times and being told they'd been sent, they did eventually arrive. The staff appeared to be low in moral, seeing some just sitting on the stairs chatting and they had a lot of trainees. Almost all staff were trainees in the restaurant at breakfast and many people had a long wait for the food being cooked and had to keep reminding the staff they'd requested food such as eggs to be cooked for them; it was quite chaotic! We did eat at the hotel in the evening but the menu was fairly limited and we had a little difficulty being understood due to us speaking English. If we return to Manila, we'll be staying somewhere else.

    3
« Ok for the price »

The service and room were quite good. However, there was lots of noise every night coming from the street. Luckily the A/C fan was also very loud. The breakfast was nice, although it's not big enough to cater for the number of guests at the hotel, and the restaurant was horrible otherwise. I had a restaurant voucher because they overcharged me for my room, and used it to get some adobo one night. The service and meal were incredibly slow, and the meal was tiny with bad meat. I immediately went out to get another dinner elsewhere.

    4
« Well located small inexpensive hotel »

The property is located in Ermita close to Manila Bay, Rizal Park and Intramuros - easy to walk around and it felt to me safe! The hotel has six upper levels I was on level 4 - the lift although small was adequate. The room i think was a premium room had one large bed and ensuite bathroom. The bathroom was certainly small but recently refurbished - the hot was hot! The breakfast was adequate although it was nice to have eggs cooked individually. Breakfast was included.

    « What happened »

I been staying here for.four years now and this is my last time. I have never met ruder service or price gouging in my life. This was a special trip as it was my me and my wife's four anniversary and my brother in law and his gf first time ever in manila. I asked for a romance package and had everything arranged through email. My wife goes to check in and gets treated rudely. First the clerk demands my wife pays the entire hotel cost for two night stay and when she refused stating was suppose to be only a small deposit till checkout they than charged her $100 us for a deposit and than charged my credit card. By time we paid a deposit we paid almost half of the cost before even staying there. Never heard of a hotel trying to do that before even where I work. By the time my wife was done dealing with this and got to the room she saw the romance package and couldn't truly enjoy it due to the frustrating check in. On check out I went to pay what was suppose to be remainder of the bill and the clerk tried to.charge me the full price again and said the card charge was non refundable and so was cash deposit. After thirty minutes of argument finally got them to put towards the room. What horrible service and because of it we will never come back here again.

« Great Cafe in Manila »

Located close to US Embassy and Swaggman Hotes, it is a great little upscale cafe to get something to eat while waiting on a ride to the airport as many take Fly the Bus or Southern Cross Bus that puts you right wishing 5 min walk. Excellent prices. They have a chicken and shrimp salad for under 200 Pesos that is a must try.

« For What It IS -Very Good »

You must consider this is a Two or three Star Hotel. Having said that. Mangement continues to upgrade their Hotel and their Pride Shines though! No Exercise faclities or pool. Most Guests seem to be returning and overlook the problems I noted as all said and done the Hotel does it best. The Staff is outstanding. They do there very best. The Breakfast Bufffet come with the room is OK. It does not compare to Buffet Breakfast in Four Star Hotels in Thailand in selection or say Quality of Sausage Ham and so on. Yet more then enough to fill you up. Compared to say places in the USA they do a good job. The Internet is free but of poor quality as you have to sign in all the time. It is also unsecure. The Hotel is located in a seedy (run down) part of town. We did not feel safe after dark. The nose level from the street was just to loud for us to sleep well at night. We had a Suite and the Shower/Batht had a stair to climb. They had hand rails however not all could cope with this. Older people be aware.

« Very good hotel in a not so good area. »

Rooms well appointed, big and very clean. Working staffs very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet good enough. They were making renovations at the main entrance when we were there, so it was a bit cluttered in the reception area. Good options for nearby places to visit. The only thing I am not happy, is the noise of karaoke till very late at night and the area is a bit unsafe and too exposed to traffic congestion.

Foods were great, and i appreciated the efforts of the staffs that are asking always for the needs of the guest, and also the egg station is great. It took us about 1 hour to get to our 1st room, when we came to the room, there were no electricity and also the room smelt so much smoke that we couldn't handle it. The manager didn't care about us and ignored us all the time. At the end of all this, we got our room (2 hours later).

« My absolute first choice in Malate »

Spend regular weekends in Manila and this is my first place to go. Everything is covered well. Rooms are spacious and most rooms have great shower, good bed and are quite. Staff is extremely friendly. This time I stayed in room 307 in which shower was weak. Aircon unit next to bed which may annoy. So avoid this room is you can. The location is in Ermita. Not the best part of town but close to Rizal Park and other attractions like Ocean Park. Expect the crowd in this hotel to be mixed couples. We love this hotel for its closeness to Cowboy Grill. A great place for a nights entertainment by good live music. Enjoy. Very recommended. Robinsons Mall also very close. On the way there is a bar called Tapstation for a very nice selection of IPA beers.

« Room Decent, Staff Excellent »

I booked the room through Expedia and prior to checking in found the hotel to be responsive to my email queries. I stayed for 3 nights as the hotel was in the Ermita, i.e. tourist, section of Manila and was affordable. The location is ideal as it is no more than a 15 minute Uber ride from all the major tourist attractions, Intermuros, Rizal Park, National Museums, American Embassy, Oceanarium, Botanical and Zoological Park, Mall of Asia, etc. It is also a 30 minute ride to the NAIA (depending on traffic). The hotel itself is located in a decent neighborhood within walking distance of the Robinson mall. For those looking for souvenirs, there are 3 antique shops directly opposite the hotel. The room I stayed in was basic, if not lackluster. The interior detailing could do with sprucing and the toilet and shower are sub-par due to there being no dividers, fixed shower head with intermittent hot water and thin walls through which you can hear the adjoining room's toilet flushing. The room otherwise had all the amenities; TV, Air-conditioning, safe, dining table, bottled water, study table and two sets of bedside drawers in a addition to the sliding wardrobe. The free WiFi internet leaves a lot to be desired, with the connection being weak and the password have to be manually entered every 10 mins. Aside from the downsides (such as some of the clientele being sleezy old European men), I must say the professionalism and courtesy of the staff is the most compelling reason to recommend this unremarkable hotel. They were simply consummate and compassionate. They even charged my mobile phone while I had a quick bite at the nearby Jollibee. Everyone from the doorman up to the manager epitomized the customer care that is required for such an endeavour. Finally my tip for those who wish to stay at Best Western La Corona, is to make sure you try out the complimentary breakfast - the chefs do an excellent job.

« Great food and friendly service »

Buffet breakfast foods are great! You'll keep coming back because of the taste. Service are great too, from door greeter to front desk down to waiters and housekeeping personnel, they are all nice and you won't feel that you are in a hotel, its like a home away from home. ??

    « Excellent Service »

My main consideration for choosing this hotel is its close proximity to the US Embassy in Manila. It is only a 5-minute walk via Arquiza Street unto Roxas Boulevard. I was impressed with the service; it is excellent. The BW staff are courteous and helpful from bell, front desk, dining, and housekeeping. All our requests when we made the online reservation, including an earlier check in, were accommodated. The stay was also inclusive of breakfast and they had it packed for us on the last day/check out since we had to catch an early morning flight. Compared to its foreign hotel equivalents, the interior and exterior of this hotel is modest and simpler. The hallways and elevator are also narrower. Nonetheless, we were in one of the newly-renovated rooms, and it was well-maintained. The restroom had a simple design, but it was very clean. Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one.

« Decent Experience for the Price »

Staff are quite pleasant and helpful, room clean and functional and aircon more than adequate. Location very central in Ermita. The construction on the lobby and front of the hotel now completed, it looks nice in the lobby. Used the small computer office and it proved equal to the tasks I gave it without problem. The only drawbacks were water flow in the oversized shower head wasn't high enough, and the sink produced only lukewarm water, no hot water. Bathroom was otherwise clean, linens new. Bed was too firm for my taste though others might like it that way, I came away sore.

« Best Western Hotel La Corona Venue For Birthday Party Function »

It has been almost one year since my daughter's first birthday party, but I wanted to take this opportunity to commend all of the staff at the Best Western La Corona, and especially the prior planning and organization by the event coordinator, and also the lead person in charge of the set up personnel that organized and placed the birthday decorations throughout the venue. The hotel staff truly made my daughter's first birthday celebration magical! I have attended functions at other venues in the Metro Manila area....and this is one of the best!

« Nine minutes walk to Luneta Jose Rizal monument...:) »

If you want to see the real Manila hoodz then this is the place to stay. Lots of restaurant and street vendors closed to Robinson's Malls. Lots of watering hole with live bands ...:) The only turn off was their Airport shuttle is very expensive.

« Best hotel for US Embassy and St Lukes Medical appointments or to just relaxing in Manila, Ermita area. »

OK.....normally when I come to Manila for appointments at US Embassy, I stay at Red Planet. But this time I decided to stay at the Best Western-Hotel La Corona Manila and what a great choice that was. This is our 1st time staying there and it was not disappointing at all. If I had known about this place earlier I would have made sure all my stays in Manila would have been here at the start. First the STAFF......the staff here is top notch. Every single person that works at this Best Western is extremely attentive, super polite and will do what ever is in their power to accommodate your needs. From the door-men, the extremely enthusiastic OJT workers(please hire some of those young people when they are done with their OJT contract!) to the front desk staff who are excellent and always helpful, polite and always smiling and. The real jewel of the hotel is the kitchen staff and the cooks.....the food was really good and priced well. This is the 1st time my wife and I had all of our meals exclusively at the hotel we are staying at. Every single person that my wife and I came into contact with at this hotel had great character, good work ethic, enthusiastic, smiling all the time and polite. 2nd.....this hotel is also super clean. do not let the exterior of this place fool you. Inside the hotels has a great scent, totally free of insects, not one fly was seen during our meals. Yes it is an older building, but it has some obvious new upgrades and older portions of the building is still very well kept. Also the hotel is loaded with plenty of original artwork such as paintings and wood sculptures. In the dining area the paintings located there are very beautiful, gallery quality work that is also available for sale. Dining are is very comfortable and cozy...offers a decent breakfast buffet and items on normal menu are very tasty. I recommend the Cheesy Potato and Bacon Soup and the Hot Wings seasoned in Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. 3rd...the rooms are very comfortable, quiet, very clean and the bathroom is super, super clean with a shower that gets HOT really fast. Bed is just right...not too soft or not too hard. The A/C gets cold fast(had to turn off several times becoz it really gets COLD) and the power in the room does not shut off when you leave so you can go out and return to a nice cool room once you return. No bed bugs, No spiders, No roaches and No Flies. So any one who travels the Philippines like I do you know very well that is rare to find a place when you can eat and not have to swat a fly away from your food constantly. So if you are looking for a good place to stay for any occasion while in Manila, Ermita area this to me is the place to stay at. Cost savings.... real comfort....good service all at this place. As long as they continue to provide this type of service this hotel has a new loyal customer.

The food was absolutely wonderful from preparation to presentation. Fresh fruits and delicious meals are to choose from cereals and wheat bread are also available for those who prefer a light meals every morning. And looking for freshly cooked eggs? Yes! fresh where in they will cook it upon request and guaranteed fresh. The place was clean and organized and staff were amazing and very accommodating. Thanks for doing such an outstanding job to make our stay so memorable, for everything was handled with efficiency and attention to every detail was given. Overall, the food was delicious and absolutely wonderful.

« "The best in Bestwestern" »

I stayed here recently with my fiance and we arrived early than the standard check in time but luckily we are given a free early check in. The room was good, clean and doesnt have a bad smell. But what I really love about the hotel are the staffs. They are very accomodating and very hospitable. The receptionist Ella is the person whom I really remember. She was amazing, she assisted us with everything we need and all the informations we need while we're in the hotel. She also remember guest by name and great with a smile which is nice and feel extra special. During our check out she also assisted us, ask if how was the stay and have some conversation. She even help us to get a car. With the breakfast? I love it specially my fiance who is very happy. Sadly I stay only for 1 night but I will definitely come back.

    « Perfect location »

Great location, easy walking distance to Rizal Park, Intramuros, Manila Bay, malls, LRT station. Clean hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast with plenty variety. Quick and easy check-in and out. Would stay here again

« Equivalent for the price you pay »

Stayed here for a night only. I advised thru my booking that I will be making a late check-in. Specified that my preference was a non-smoking room. However, there were no more rooms available so we have been given a suite room in a smoking floor. Perks - that its a suite room. Downside - smell of smoke lingers in your nostrils and bronchioles despite the fact that I disinfected the room with Lysol until my travel spray was near empty; and we have to take the stairs from the fifth floor because apparently, this floor is not serviced by the elevator. I wasn't so fussy about this problem because we just slept in this place. Breakfast covered the basics but was not that grand. Staff were very courteous to compensate. Overall, there are lots of better hotels nearby if you want a better stay. But for the price I paid, it just covered what my purpose.

« What you'd expect from an American Hotel Chain »

We chose this hotel because it was well reviewed and within the pick up area of our tour company. The hotel staff was friendly and willing to help us in any way they could. They were super sweet. We needed money changed, and since it was later in the evening-they offered to have the door man walk us. It was very sweet, although unnecessary. The room was what you'd expect. I didn't have any noise issues, but we were also there during the low season and the a/c was on pretty much all the time. The bed was large enough for the two of us and the bathroom was private and has a shower big enough to move around in. It was also very clean and the a/c worked well-which is important in the Philippines. There is a safe in the room as well as a fridge, and the restaurant downstairs seemed quiet but was nice. The wifi worked in the room and was stable enough to skype home with. There are things to see and do within walking distance as well as several fast food chains and local restaurants. Overall, you are not going to find a nicer hotel for the price in their area. We enjoyed our stay here greatly.

« a hint of Spanish style decor »

picked this place because it was a few minutes walk where I had to be the next day... for the price I paid, it was definitely better than some of the other places I've stayed within the vicinity. - interior is dated but has aged gracefully. - elevator might have been added afterwards thus the small size. - my only in-room complaint would be the window-a/c... had to bend down to turn it on... - choice of breakfast is limited, but it has an egg stand so you can stuff yourself with all the different style of cook-on-the-spot eggs you want. - front door is under-construction, the side entry door is a little tiny

« Some Good and Some Bad all at the sametime »

I stayed here for a week during the end of June 2016. I arrived late night due to delayed flights and connections and even though it was after midnight the staff was friendly and very helpful. Check in was a breeze and then came the room (mine was not available so was put in ?better room? NOT, it was located on the 6th floor ? 603 - which is 1 floor above the top floor serviced by the elevator ?yep pack your bags up a few stairs) as I walked in I was glad to see the room was large however I was a bit shocked this was what they were calling a superior suite which was better than what I booked. The next morning, I headed to the breakfast buffet and was surprised of how large of a selection and how perky and friendly the staff was. I found out almost my last day if you want bacon you need to ask for it otherwise it is not served. Changed rooms and was given suite 208 ? I found it to be nicer and even larger but the road noise is pretty loud especially since it appears there are only single pain windows. I made the mistake later that morning of using the hotel to exchange some US currency. Got a pretty low rate which was almost 2.5 Piso lower than the cash exchanger about a block away on the other side of the street (I choose that one because there weren't locals hanging out by the front door. I started to venture out during the evening however that part of town is not for walking so if you plan to go bar hopping plan on a taxi for your safety. This hotel gets a high score in friendliness, Food selection and helpful staff but gets a low rating in facilities modernization and quietness of the suites. All in all I would say this hotel is a bit overpriced based on the facilities condition and up keep.

« Courteous staff, Comfy room »

The staff are friendly and offered to carry my baggage. The staff member checked my room if everything was working just fine. The room was comfortable to stay in. The hotel had a nice complimentary breakfast. This is a nice hotel to stay in especially for people who have appointments at the US embassy. The embassy is near and takes around 7 - 10 minutes by foot.

    « I had high expectations »

An hour after we checked in, the room started getting warm. The AC was not working - there was ice on the AC and it was obvious that it had not been cleaned for a long time. We called them numerous times and it took them about an hour to have it replaced with a new AC. The food served at breakfast was not good. Pros: room was clean, I love the light accents and the bathroom was nice. They also had a safe.

    « A recommended place to stay »

Got a pleasant surprise and would recommend La Corona to anyone that needs to stay in this part of the city. Good size room. Nice and clean. Staff were great. Offered a good selection at breakfast time and evening dining was equal to anything else we tried. Sure, the street outside are a bit chaotic, but that's Manila!

    « Had a Great Stay »

My husband and I stayed in a Deluxe King Room. The room was spacious and really clean. The bathroom was also well-maintained..clean and no molds. The staff were such darlings..all of them..courteous and attentive to your needs. The breakfast buffet is a yummy and wonderful spread. My only concern was the smell of the bed sheets..it was clean but smelled like it wasn't dried completely/properly. I like my bed sheets soft and smelling like they were bathed in ample amount of fabric conditioner..hehe! Overall, it was a great stay..and I would certainly be staying here again whenever we're in Manila.

« Nice room and stylish restaurant »

Stayed here twice recently, we were given a free upgrade to a better room, great staff and service, shame there is no pool. Close to City state tower for bus to Puerto Galera, outside is scary with slums and prostitution on the doorstep.Beggars and Islamic teaching centers outside (such happy, smiling people!).couldnt wait to get back to my room, nice bathroom fittings and couldn't really fault it.

    4
« Clean room excellent staff »

My experience in the hotel was excellent. The staff was responsive to every need and the room was spotless. This hotel restaurant has a great selection of American and Philippine dishes at reasonable prices. Travel to and from the Manila airport was reliable but a little expensive.

« Good choice of hotel in central Manila »

As a solo traveller I had read too much into discouraging comments about Manila but found it to be quite safe and I walked around the streets of Ermita and Malate at night. Most importantly get your bearings. You are quite close to a shopping mall, many restaurants, the bay, parks and museums here but the streets around La Corona are narrow. Once you work out where you are though, you realise how central the hotel is. For room choice, skip the superior and go for a deluxe. The superior are small and you may not get a street view, the deluxe are much preferable. The staff were quite friendly, though at breakfast they were slow off the mark. Speaking of which for meat lovers, the breakfast is fine, but for health conscious vegetarians, offerings were limited to fruit and coffee as the cereal and bread were quite sweet. The hotel has character and many of its original Art Deco features such as the extensive use of timber in the hallways is in tact. The scale of the hotel is of a moderate size. Be mindful of that and you should enjoy your stay.

    « #7 out of 110? »

Wow must be some really crappy hotels in Manila if this is #7. Hotel is adequate. Had deluxe room. It was average. Very clean, decor ok. Bathroom is very small, and had minor mold on grouting, but overall was very clean. Towels, and hand towels, but no wash cloths. Thought that was strange. Breakfast buffet was ok, food was prepared good. Nothing stood out, good, or bad. Good points. Staff was terrific, just ask, they do. Very close to US embassy, 5 minutes walk. Lots of shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Maybe I have spoiled US perspective, but I would rate this at 50 out of 110. Would I stay here again, sure.

    « Sweet Celebration »

We recently stayed here last weekend to celebrate our 12th anniversary. I specially chose this after thorough research and reviews. The staffs are really friendly and courteous. The room is nice and spacious for a family of 5. What's the best was their breakfast there were enough selection my children enjoyed their bacons and pancakes and their unlimited trips to the cereal station The only downside is they don't have any pool. My husband and kids were disappointed because they wanted to swim and i forgot to check on that as well as i am already taken with the good feedback on their buffet breakfast. Overall, I give it a 4 and will definitely come back here.

« Oasis in an urban challenge »

I'm a regular customer here, staying here nearly every night I'm in Manila. From check in where ALL Of the front desk agents greet me warmly by name and with a big grin. My rooms have always been prepared in an extremely welcoming fashion being airy, clean and well stocked with all my needs. The air conditioning is quiet but emits a cool blast which is exactly what is needed after traveling through downtown Manila . Located just a few blocks away from Robinsons Place (mall) as well as a wide variety of eateries, entertainment (live bands) establishments and ONE block away from The World famous Hobbit House! After traversing through some extremely challenging streets where one MUST maintain their wits about them it is refreshing to upon entrance to this urban oasis to finally be able to relax, breathe and know you are now SAFE. The rooms are quiet yet comfortable, the comfort room roomy, well stocked with needed toiletries and the shower inviting. All staff that you encounter wherever you are in the building to include on the job trainees greet me cheerfully as they go about their work. What can I say about the breakfast other than AMAZING? Simply the best choice of whatever style of breakfast you're looking for. There are eggs made to order, soup, a delicious array of meats, cereal, fruit, and pastry. No set menu that leaves you wishing for more at this hotel! The waitstaff are attentive yet unobtrusive always happy to top off your water, juice, coffee or give you some newly made BACON! How do they ALWAYS get it right? Might it have something to do with Their Executive MBA holding General Manager? I'm sure it is as well as what I'm sure is a very careful process of staff selection, training and supervision. Time for me to book another trip and yes, I'm a FAN!

spent 5 nights in this boutique hotel, well located and clean. located in the middle of nightlife this haven offered excellent room, bright modern bathroom, flat screen TV.wi fi,air con and coffee making facility. buffet breakfast offered in the price, wide variety of food to choose, even the meals offered later in the day are very well priced and very tastey. elevator on hand to make life easier, very freindly staff, easy to please you nothing was to much for them. hotel offers great street views while you contemplate your daily activities, watch manila walk by your Window, loved it. well priced and felt to me a safe retreat from the hustle and bustle of manila. excellent vans for tours or airport pick up. recommend to all, budget conscious yet looking for style and quality. well done and will again love to stay on my next manila adventure,oh one last tip try book your room more the the back of the hotel as street view rooms can be a little noisy facing del pilar st,otherwise,no problem go for it.

    « Better than expected!!!!!!! »

My fiancee and I have stayed at several hotels in Manila. The Best Western Hotel La Corona was by far the best hotel we've stayed at for the cheapest price. Trust me, some of the hotels in Manila are very expensive and very dirty! In addition, finding a hotel with good air-conditioning is not something you can take for granted, as we've stayed at hotel's in Manila with Aircon's that barely work. The Best Western Hotel La Corona is only a 5 minute walk to the U.S. embassy, which is the primary reason we stayed there and the price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in Manila and in the surrounding area. The hotel was extremely clean, the aircon was super cold, the showers were awesome, the bed was huge and comfortable, the Wifi was great, and the buffet breakfast was awesome! We also enjoyed the food especially the Pancit Bihon! The desserts including the brownie w/ice cream, the banana split, and the sundaes were excellent too! In addition, it's only 3 minutes walk from St Lukes extension clinic and 7 minutes walk from Robinson's Mall. We have to go back to the embassy in a few weeks and we're definitely staying at The Best Western Hotel La Corona again!

    « Vacation »

I'm giving an excellent review of this hotel because I have to point out important details. First, When I checked in they're very friendly hotel staff always smiling and helpful and accommodating. The room was huge for persons with disabilities, (PWD) everything looks great and smells clean; My first priorities was to check the bathroom., I'm wheelchair bound it's important for me the accessibilities, It was exactly what I saw on "tripadvisor" (online) the rolling in bathroom was excellent easy for wheelchair to get in/out, i was informed the room was renovated a year ago it was almost perfect settings, my only concern is that if toilet bowl and the sink would've been installed next to each other, this way wheelchair will have enough space to maneuver inside and should've installed a sturdy/strong shower chair that attaches to the walls, persons with disabilities have different physical mobility so it's important that should provide more of considerations in terms of accommodation. While I stayed I had a bit of a problem with the bathroom door I can't closed the door while I was inside because not enough space, my suggestions the door should opened outside not the inside instead. I wish they would fix it soon. The Lighting was good although it took me a while to work out where the switch for the desk lamp was (all the switch was on my head board). The safety deposit box, tea, coffee and a kettle were in the next each other by cabinet. There were bedsides table with one having an alarm clock. (which I don't really used it) My Queen or King sized bed was very comfortable. I really slept well. The air conditioning when set on 'low' was quiet. It was efficient. TWO THUMBS UP for excellent customer care, well to mention "Christian" (housekeeping) "Rommel" (greeter front door) "Duane and Patrick" (cafeteria), "Trixie" (marketing) and "C. Laxa" (cashier). The breakfast buffet were excellent as well their service, they were very attentive. The chefs was a great cook I wish they would add more foods on the menus, not enough selections. Wifi connection is fast and it's very easy to login "ONLY IF YOU'RE DINING IN THE CAFETERIA". Bad connection when you are in your unit room was disappointed hoping they'll fix it right away. YES, I WOULD STILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE MOST ESPECIALLY TO THE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY.

« Close to US Embassy Manila - Just what we were looking for! »

We had an early appointment at the US Embassy, Manila, and wanted a hotel that was safe/secure and within walking distance to the Embassy. Found this hotel was just a ?city? block away from Roxas Blvd and US Embassy. I read the reviews on this hotel and had mixed feelings about staying there. But I decided to give it a try and booked online. The hotel rates were quite reasonable and I booked the Superior room w/o breakfast. We were upgraded to a suite on the third floor which overlooked Del Pilar St. which is a one-way street, with considerable vehicular and foot traffic. However, the room was quite large, comfortable bed and pillows. Air conditioning was quiet and kept the room nice and cool. The bathroom was clean and modern. It had an oversized bathtub with hot and cold water. The hotel had good internet with two computers for guests to use which was located in the restaurant area. Printing is available at the front desk. Both of these I needed to use and again, the staff was quite helpful. Getting to the Embassy? As most know, Roxas Blvd is a busy three/four lane through fare and trying to cross a street like that, even at a crosswalk with a traffic light, is difficult at best. Fortunately, there is foot bridge over Roxas Blvd to the Embassy that puts you at the security entrance.

« Wonderful people and Wonderful Service »

I have been at Best Western La Corona twice. Both times was great. I am going back for two weeks at end of June 2016 until middle of July 2016. The breakfast meal down stairs is great. The hotel rates are good. Its also downtown which I liked and close to the airport. Never had any problems with people in the Ermita areas.

« Nice hotel, good location »

Nice Best Western, quality that you expect from the brand, friendly staff, nice location (waterfront is 2 min walk away), rooms are clean. Missed the breakfast but it looked good! Getting to the airport in traffic is a nightmare but would be from most hotels.

    « Professional Staff »

It's an older, but well maintained hotel. Large, clean rooms. Free Wi-Fi was substantial; you could actually enjoy surfing the Internet. Free buffet breakfast was also substantial with a great selection of food items. Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. I thought to give just four stars, because of the age of the building, but then I consider the effort they put into making your stay comfortable despite what they have to work with and I'm impressed enough to give it five stars. A little on the pricey side, but you truly get what you pay for. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

« My Third Best Western La Corona Stay - April 15-28, 2016 »

Although this hotel should still be considered as an acceptable place to stay in Manila which is very close to the US Embassy and other key places, this may be my last stay at the Best Western La Corona in Manila. I departed Dulles Airport, Washington DC on April 14th and arrived in Manila around 10:00pm on April 15th getting a connecting flight in South Korea. I emailed the hotel days in advance and requested the hotel to have a car and driver ready to pick me up from the airport, and they replied with a cost and asked what type of car I wanted, which I answered. So when I arrived tired and exhausted from over 20 hours of flying, there was no one from the hotel to pick me up, which resulted in delays and paying 3 times over the usual taxi rate for a ride or I would have been there all night. I was exhausted from the trip and not happy. Worse yet, when I called the hotel from the airport to see what was going on, they didn't seem to care -- they said "I could get a taxi on my own." What crap! I stayed at the hotel for about 2 weeks, and this was my third stay in 3 years. The good part is that they have a great breakfast (free if it came with your room selection) that was more than enough for me, and include fresh made pancakes, bacon, and yummy fruit among a bunch of other hot dishes. However, one day I ate lunch or dinner there and ordered a Club Sandwich. Well, it was a little strange, but I ate it -- and ended up sick for 3-4 days. The Deluxe room I had was large and good. However, this is the only hotel I have been in that did not have wash clothes for the shower or bath -- so I used a large hand towel which was ridiculous. If this is a "Western" hotel then it better have "Western" amenities. So bring your own wash cloth if you come here. The staff in the dining room and lobby/door were great and always helpful. Normally the front desk staff are also very nice -- but they don't seem to ever have money to exchange. So if you have American dollars or other currency and need some Pesos, don't expect to find it at the Front Desk. However, across the street to the left of the hotel front door is a tiny hole in the wall Money Exchange place, and they exchanged all my American dollars for Pesos with no problem, and also at a good rate. I used a lot of hotel taxis when I was there and the drivers were very good, reliable, and will take you anywhere -- but they will be much more costly, so I don't use them for short rides like to the Robinson's Mall, etc. You can order a car & driver from the front desk in advance. However, around 8:00pm on April 27th, the night of my departure, I requested a hotel car to take me and my girlfriend to Manila Airport, and then to take my girlfriend home. I was not happy when he took my girlfriend home first "because it was easier" which was garbage, and then took me to the airport by myself. I just didn't want to start a big argument in the car with my friend as I depart Manila, but I was not happy at all -- that is NOT what I paid for nor what I stated, and the Hotel should discipline that driver for not doing what I paid for. So I doubt if I will stay at the Best Western La Corona on future trips and will look for a new hotel. This is kind of sad because the hotel has historically received good reviews, even from me. So you make your own decision.

    « Very Nice »

I enjoyed my stay. The location is good for food and shopping, and it was easy for uber pick ups. Breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Wifi worked great. The only problem was an ant problem in the room. Overall I would stay here again.

I had a fabulous stay in La Corona, and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of Manila, close to everything. The staff could not be more helpful, courteous, and attentive, I will definitely stay here again!

The hotel was very clean. There was a lot staff. The room was quite large, clean and comfortable but outdated. The location was not far from Intramurus. The breakfast was ok but very busy. Great value for money.

Ilove food so much. When me and my family discovered that best western has this affordable breakfast buffet for as low as 299 pesos, i didnt waste time to try it out. The food was great and the staffs are great too! Sir ryan is the one who assist us with what we needed. And also i love the egg station part of the buffet where you can order omelet whatever you want! I want to come back and eat more of their selection of food! #staywiththepeoplewhocares #TheBestWesternLacorona

This is our second stay at this hotel , The Hotel is clean with coffee facilities in the room and 2 bottles of free water every day and a minibar with beer at less price than a local bar , The Staff are friendly , help full and well organised they go the extra mile for you ,eg we needed a needle and thread, a phone call to house keeping and a sewing kit delivered to the room 5 mins , we confirmed our flights using our laptop via the hotel wifi in our room , KLM sent the email to the hotel, when we went to the lobby and it was already printed out and waiting for us , Breakfast was excellent both days , Hot with plenty of choices both Eastern and Western and the fresh, made to order Omelettes were to die for , as was the sunny side up eggs ... The Catering Staff were excellent , The Hotel is 5 mins from the sea front m, Robinsons Mall , Risla Park ,and the H20 water park is 10 mins , Cowboy Grill is just round the corner with good music and food , Hobbit bar 50 yards Star of Manila 100 yards, The area is a bit run down by western standards but typical Philippine / Thailand we never felt intimidated or unsafe and will be staying again at the Hotel next time we come to manilla , Taxi to the terminal 3 mid afternoon on a manic traffic friday was p320 Taxi from Victory Liner pasay p 350. A big Thankyou to all the Staff at the Hotel La Corona for another great stay.

    « Great Value »

Searched for hotels again in Manila last February for my regular assignment when I came across Best Western Hotel La Corona. Didn't realize Best Western operated here. I booked for 4 days and three nights. The hotel was slightly more expensive than others I was considering - the stay ran me just above 10k since they ran out of the cheaper rooms. Remember my other review about this crappy hotel with a rude receptionist? Best Western was a polar opposite. Came into the hotel around 7pm while the hotel staff was busy helping another family and was also making calls. After a good 10 minutes of waiting, she turned to me and profusely apologized for the wait. She also offered refershments - she probably noticed I looked tired. I knew then it was going to be a good stay. And to top it off, I got a room upgrade. In the US, room upgrades are typical, but I've not encountered this in the Philippines. Even for 5-star hotels, unless you're a celebrity. Usually, I tend to not remember the details of a good stay because I don't notice it, my mind is just focused on the work I have do. But i'll try to point out what I enjoyed. What i liked: 1. Great staff, everyone is helpful. Almost everyone at the hotel was courteous to the guests, Pinoy or foreign looking. 2. Rooms are big as the hotel is a bit old 3. Breakfast is great - beats other five star hotels in Makati. Sometimes it's best to keep things simple and just serve your best dishes in a buffet. 4. Strong wifi signal. 5. The bed was just right, not too soft. 6. Even if the hotel was old, they definitely kept the place in great shape 7. They have safety boxes in the room for your valuables- also getting uncommon among hotels here 8. Location is good, just a bit of a walk to Robinsons. Very near the Tap Station- a local crafts beer place. What I didn't like: 1. Being an old hotel, the bathrooms tend to look like latrines in a military camp- really clean, white room with a small sink, toilet, shower and that's it. With only a very narrow glass shelf to put my toiletries, shaver etc. Or maybe it was just my room. Anyway, i'm reaching here since I found all the other aspects of my stay great. Why not pick on the bathroom? 2. Although there's parking on the side of the hotel, each morning I've had to call the guard since someone always double parks and blocks my car. I think that's it! Overall a great stay, highly recommended if you're a business traveller looking for a place in downtown Manila.

They get better every time we go there! Very progressive and never the same. I love that each room is unique. Breakfast is pretty good including the omelette station. The Hobbit House is across the road which has great local artists at 7 pm.

« Friendly, good service, correct!! »

For the second time I had a very good experience staying this hotel..... Very friendly staff and personnel, even the trainees.... Al my wished forfilled and all my questions answered. Even we stay there in 1 room with our young daughter and baby boy, the room was dirty every day and a lot of garbage, but thanks to our friendly houskeeper Allan we could enjoy a clean room every day again. We will come back here, sure!!!!

« Very Nice Hotel centrally located »

BW Hotel La Corona is a very good choice for price and location. The room I stayed in was not super large but it had everything I and my family needed for our 15 day stay...TV, refrigerator, AC, comfortable bed, water heater for coffee/tea, and a CR/Shower that never lost hot water. The hotel has a large generator so the one night we lost power, it was only for 30 seconds or so. Each morning we ate at the buffet breakfast, which is about medium-small size, but it gave you enough choices to fill yourself up and then go back for more. This hotel is within walking distance of just about everything...parks, Robinsons mall, Baywalk at Manila Bay, The US Embassy, and a multitude of restaurants, with the Mall of Asia not too far of a drive away. I picked this hotel specifically for the price and the fact that I didn't have to use any vehicle transportation except to and from the airport. I will choose this hotel again if business or pleasure take me to the Ermita area again.

    « Location Location Location »

We regularly stay at Best Western La Carona hotel when were are in Manila for business / pleasure and it very good for the price, which includes a substantial buffet breakfast. ( They will cook poached eggs for you and individual bacon if you request it ) The staff are always trying their best to serve you anytime of the day. ( In fact I would not be surprised if this hotel was actually a Best Western training facility for the staff in Manila, as I often see lots of trainee badges on some of the staff ) The area around the hotel being MH Del Pilar and Mabini streets are an eyesore and be aware of your surroundings in this area. However having said this, SUCK IT UP and enjoy the history this area has to offer. Read up about the Battle of Manila, which occurred in this part of Manila, and definitely visit the Manila Hotel, which is where General Douglas Macarthur stayed when in Manila. This hotel has character not found anywhere else in Manila and the food in the hotel is XXXXXX ( 6 Star ) Have a bottle beer of San Miguel Light, in the bar to the left of the large foyer. The beer is stored below Sub Zero and it is the coldest beer I have ever had in the Philippines. ( Make sure you ask for the COLD beer ) Admittedly the food and drink is expensive at this hotel, but it is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!! Our hotel, Best Western La Carona's location is absolutely spot on with a short walk to the US Embassy, Fort Santiago, Intramuros, old Manila, RIzal Park, the Manila Hotel, Manila Bay walk, and the United Nations or Pedro Gill, sky trains stops are about a 10 to 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Shops, about a 5 minute walk to one of the original and BEST ever shopping centres in Manila, called Robinsons, its huge and would suit all of your requirements from general supermarket items through to high end signature brands. ( This shopping centre makes Westfield's in Australia, look like a 7/11, check it out ) Okay eateries nearby area as follows: LA Cafe, 300 metres from hotel, in MH Del PIlar, enter through main door and immediately turn right and walk into the second section, it is a lot quieter and the food here is VERY GOOD. Do not be put off by the 24/7 ladies of the day / night in the bar section of the LA Cafe. Just Do It, you will not be disappointed with the food. Prices, reasonable. Okay, next is G Point, which is next to a 7/11 and located at 510 Padre Faura, Street, Manila, about 150 metres from the hotel and towards Robinsons shopping centre. Again the food here is VERY GOOD, and they have an excellent lunchtime buffet, which is EXCELLENT VALUE and covers lots of dishes. Prices reasonable. Finally this is the best place EVER for value in Manila, relating to a buffet restaurant and it is called DADS KAMAYAN RESTAURANT, and its located at 523 Merchant Building Padre Faura cor. Adriatico St.,, Padre Faura St, Ermita, diagonally opposite, the G Point Restaurant. They have food from all round the world and it is 1st Class, this is the place to go for an EXCELLENT FEED, Lunch is cheaper than dinner and the cost is very good for what is on offer. You will definitely ENJOY your time in the Best Western Hotel, and what the area close by has to offer. I would suggest a stay of 2 to 3 days in Ermita, to check out the area would suffice. Best of luck.

    « Heading to Ozamiz »

Still a great stop on our way from the states to visit my wife's family in Ozamiz, good food, close proximity to the mall, and restaurants, speaking off restaurants,Inasal is the greatest place in the Philippines to eat barbecue chicken, and it's right down the street from the hotel, there's also Jolibee, chicken, hamburgers, and much more, the hotels service is great, the people are very friendly and accommodating, the only problem my wife and I have is that the wifi is very bad, and there's no microwave oven to warm up your food in the room, but they were kind enough to warn it for us in their kitchen, other than that we loved it. You can hire the hotel driver to take you out and about, try the mall of Asia, and ask for jojo,we use jojo whenever we're in town...

Stayed overnight in their superior room. Requested for a non smoking room but got a smoking room. Except for this everything else is perfect. Room 606 was silent, comfortable enough to get a good sleep. Breakfast was ok. Front desk, restaurant crew, and doorman are very courteous and helpful. Value for money. Perfect place to stay if you want to visit the U.S Embassy early in the morning.

My wife and I recently stay here as it is very close to St. Luke's Extension and she had to be there early the next morning. « Dependable Service, Solid Value »

Spotless rooms, friendly staff (Chaw in the restaurant remembered me from a previous visit), and a nice breakfast buffet (nothing fancy) to get you started for the day. Rooms facing the away from the street (north side?) are very quiet. About a 15 minute walk to the nearest LRT station, 12 minute walk to Robinson's mall, 10 minutes to the US Embassy.

Liked the minimalist approach in terms of size and amenities. Less but of quality and amazing hotel at a very economical cost Cannot be at a better location, very bear the Manila Bay and intramuros and rizal monument. We were able to cover all our intended attractions in a day in Manila thanks to the central location and just 7 kms to the airport. Staff could have been more personable and why didn't they offer us to sign up for BW rewards

« Heart of Downtown, staffed by heartwarming personnel »

Unpretentious but feeling somewhat elegant - that is how this hotel is operated. The location is perhaps a bit off-putting because it sits on the corner of a busy intersection of some rather seamy street shops and more than a few hangers-on. Do be careful to use a taxi for trips about town, and if you walk, use a brisk pace and do not give any attention to the constantly begging children. The breakfast buffet is quite nice; much fruit, fresh eggs and bacon, cereals, breads, juices, etc. The lobby is small but pleasant. The bell staff, doorman, restaurant staff, desk staff - all are very well appointed, attractive, most pleasant and very polite. This is a sign of excellent management. A most pleasant stay. Highly recommended.

« Polite and helpful staff »

My sisters and I had a nice stay at the hotel. The staff were polite and helpful especially to those with special needs- I had an accident during my visit in the Philippines and my left leg was in a cast. The staff made sure to assist me even without asking. My only concern was during breakfast, we had to wait in the looby because the resto was full-which was fine. But when we finally found a table for ourselves almost all the food warmers were empty and had to wait long for the restaurant staff to refill. Drinking glasses were also not refilled so we had to ask a staff to get us some. Our request was promptly addressed. However, we were handed with wet glasses. In general, our hotel experience was good and got the best value for our money! ??

The hotel is located near the American Embassy off Roxas Boulevard. There is a 7-11, Mini Stop and Jollibee nearby. « Decent location »

This hotel is decently located in downtown Manila. The neighborhood is not impressive but on one side you have a large mall with restaurants and shop and on the other side most of the attractions in the city within walking distance. Airport is not that far from there. The room is decent and clean and staff are friendly. There is no pool at the hotel, could be used on hot days in Manila. It can get a bit noisy from the street in the evening and morning.

We checked out after the first night and because we had pre paid were unable to get any refund for the nights we didn't stay

« More Hostel than a Best Western »

The best things from this hotel are only a strong wifi reception and the employees / their prompt services, which I think that is the general Pinoy identity. Inside the room I would say it is just enough though the bed is hard and always make noises every time you change your position. The building itself is very old and narrow, lift can only carry 3ppl with cabin bags. I prefer to pay slightly more to have better stay next time. However, if you dont mind with what I reviewed and happy with the cheap price, you can stay here.

    « Great Location »

The location is great, it's about 15 minutes walk to Rizal Park monument and the kilometer zero sign of Manila. I had a great time staying on the 3rd floor, staff were very friendly and helpful. I like my room, it's very clean and quiet at noon but it was a little bit noisy at night. I also appreciate the housekeepers' works, thank you very much. Actually, I don't get the good breakfast review here. Breakfast is nice but they need to improve the quality of foods. I like the breakfast but there's nothing special about it. I'm an Indonesian, so that's a bit odd to see the "Indonesian menu" like Indonesian Carrot Soup, Chicken Satay, and Rendang don't taste like the original taste but I appreciate the effort. Beside the breakfast, I have to say this hotel offers great service, great staff, great location. Thanks to the staff.

They just look at you and didn't ask if we need assistant.

    « Hello »

?Where do I start? First of all I want to thank you all for being such an excellent, efficient hands on manager. I give him a double thumbs up for excellent customer service. Then I just wanted to say thank you to your staff who did the décor it was beautiful just what we wanted (cozy). Last but not least thank you to the chef the food were great, I had no complaints on our side. So to each and every one that helped making the event a successful one. You guys were great!?The food was oh my Delicious, on point. The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. We highly recommend it. The breakfast buffet was equally as good.

    « Very Interesting Location »

Somewhat stylish rooms a good bar. Close to the Bay, great WiFi, close to pubs and parks.just down the street from the Hobbit House Bar... I have to admit that there are actual rats & hookers in the immediate neighborhood. But I did like the hotel.

« A pretty good place to stay in Manila »

The Hotel staff was attentive, helpful and courteous, rooms were comfortable and clean. The Breakfast was really good. The ambience is cozy plus the relaxing music being played at the restaurant. Really pleasant place to stay.

« Ok location, weird guests »

We stayed 2 nights and the room walls are paper thin. Let's just say that I had 2 rooms on the same floor that was competing with each other for making the loudest noise. My husband had to go knock on their doors, they were high or drunk. We asked to change room on the very next day. The staff really understand our concerns and gave us a quiet room in the back of the hotel (away from the road with less rooms as neighbors). Then, everything was fine. We really appreciated our 2nd night. Breakfast was ok but the hotel was really crowded so the poor only lady making the omelets was so busy. I would have had a 2nd person to help her out. Overall good if you can get a quiet room.

    « Okay hotel »

Placed quite far from airport taking traffic into consideration the personal is friendly and helpful. The rooms are average condition but okay for the price in the neighborhood there are many places to go within restaurants and bars but looks to be a area of poor people

    « Most Disorganized Hotel »

I stayed at Best Western La Corona and in Manila in Feb '16. The hotel has a lot of staff but no one knows what they are doing. This is a small hotel. The restaurant is slow. It took 45 minutes to get food at dinner. The front desk is very unorganized they forgot about my laundry. Leave plenty of time at check out to Review your hotel bill. It takes a long time to pay. Any problem you have at this hotel the hotels solution is go back to your room and we'll call you. The front desk cannot fix things at the time of issue even though they have lots of people working. In the restaurant they have a buzzer on every table ring it and someone is to come to your table. That must be the idea. The restaurant probably only has a dozen tables. I think it is the most stupid thing to have a buzzer on every table. When the buzzer rings no one responds. I had a person 10 feet away from me and they kept standing there. The rooms are nice and clean. They are small but for the price it is right. Neighborhood is a red light district. It looks rough.

Clean rooms, linens, hot water in showers and sinks, free WiFi/internet, clean facilities. You do not need to worry as their employees are all accommodating. I highly recommend this to those family that wants to relax, travelers that's want to explore Manila, couple and groups that will have an event soon.

Enjoyed 4 nights last week doing visa things. Remodeled dining room since last summer(miss the roccoco pillars). Menu the same. Buffet breakfast still outstanding. Room nice, King bed, good WiFi, nice shower/CR with hot water. Not able to open window, so had to use AC. Overall again, a very great staff, nice accomodations and food, and in the heart of Ermita. Very affordable for the amenities.

    « still the best »

I keep saying this because for the price you pay, you get a Best Western hotel, excellent service, spacious rooms, friendly staff..... and a hotel who does not have a lot of turnovers which is in direct correlation to the excellent General Manager and her management team. The GM must be doing something right to have a staff who have been loyal to her for all the years that I have been going there.

    3
« Average food, friendly staff »

The hotel have several function rooms ideal for conferences and meetings. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Food is average, cost is affordable. Buffet breakfast include few choices but has rice, ham, eggs, diff breads, yogurt, fruits and juices. Coffee is brewed but taste is a bit bland, it's not recommended for coffee lovers. Restrooms are clean. Parking is limited. Location is good and accessible to public commute.

    1
    « Not coming back »

We are not going back to this hotel. First we booked for non smoking suite and got the smelly , stained ,dirty furniture smoking suite. When we asked about it they told us we will get a smaller room if we want to transfer to a diff one for the same price. To think that we booked approx 2 months in advance. Then on the 2nd day that we went to breakfast there were empty tables and we were told that they were reserved when we asked the front desk about breakfast arrangements they told us that it was first come first serve basis and there were people still in the lobby waiting to eat..its the worst hotel we've been to.

    5
« Great location and price »

Large and very nicely appointed room with a great bed. The breakfast buffet (for two) may be the best in Manila and comes with the room. Close to the American embassy with many good restaurants in the area.

    3
« Good for the price »

The rooms smell a bit stale and the beds could be better. The service is altough very good and professional. I would stay here again because the price was good. Breakfast was a really nice surprice and value for money. We also ate dinner there and the food was ok. Would stay here again because of the value for the money is good.

« Very nice hotel and staff »

We stayed at this property for 2 days. It is in the heart of Manila main attractions (intramuros and S. Agostino Cathedral): we walked for about 15-20 minutes! Staff is very nice and helpful and yes they understand and speak English! Breakfast is a full buffet with plenty of choice for everybody! Room was nice and clean with kettle, minibar and haidryer! The only negative note was that The room we had was facing The street so very noisy.

    3
    « Hotel good.....location bad »

This hotel was ok, staff good, food ok and rooms clean. It also had a pickup service from the airport that was good value. However, the location is seedy seedy seedy. It is not far from the infamous "hotel LA", hence there is lots of dangerous gangs and criminals near the hotel. I don't mind lonely foreigners coming here and helping a poor Filipino with money in exchange for being a girlfriend/boyfriend for a few nights. What I don't like about this location is that it is dangerous. If you come here, don't leave the hotel at night for any reason except for an emergency, Take a taxi or hotel limo direct to your location and return via taxi or hotel limo.

« AWESOME FOOD AND ATTENTIVE STAFFS! »

This hotel made a difference with other hotels around ermita. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a friendly greet from the staffs. Reception staffs were helpful enough to accommodate us and assisted us very politely. We arrived there past 1 in the afternoon and we were a little dizzy because of the rough sea from our trip from sabang to batangas port and just as we reached the hotel we were hungry so while waiting for the room to be ready, we decided to go and have lunch first and the service from the waitstaff was just as good as the food they've served us. The room is spacious enough for the three of us. We requested 2 separate beds as it was me, my cousin and her daughter who stayed there. Aircon is working fine and we love the water pressure in the bathroom and enough space. The only thing I noticed that is in need of improvement is their housekeeping department which I noticed that their beddings weren't always fixed properly as it should be. This was not hard for me to notice that it was not being done properly because I have been working in a resort for more than 4 years and checking the jobs of our housekeeping has always been part of our responsibilities daily to ensure that guests will have a very comfortable stay in our resort. This is the only down side of this hotel but all in all our stay was awesome and we will surely come back here and hope to see some improvements from the housekeeping :) BTW, if you stay in this hotel, you will be close to Cowboy Grill which is a good place to go at night time and it is close to the mall, just few minutes walk to get there.

« Short stay over in Manila »

The hotel staff on reception were always friendly and went out of their way to help us in particular a special mention has to go to Ella. The rooms were well presented and the facilities there could be no complaints about, all in all it was a pleasure staying there but the big down side about staying in Manila is the traffic which is non stop gridlock

    5
« Amazing breakfast, attentive staff »

We were welcomed very nicely, luggage was picked up by staff and our check-in was fast and efficient. Very friendly and professional staff. The rooms are basic but fine for this price level. The breakfast was amazing. Waffles, omelette and pancakes on demand. This was impressive. Very nice experience.

Our hotel of choice when in Manila. Very close to the US Embassy and a comfortable ride to the US Veterans Administration facility. There are several fast food facilitys near by and a 7-11 is very close.

« Clean Modern Hotel in Manila »

This is a nicely decorated, modern hotel in Manila, close to the U.S. Embassy. It's a cheap taxi ride from the airport. The airport Bank (money changer) sign said it was open until 2am so I was able to change money there. If you want to arrange a shuttle pick up through the hotel, it's 750php and takes longer to get than if you just jump in a cab. However, if you don't have php currency, you can pay for the hotel arranged shuttle upon your check out. There are many banks near the hotel but the rate was slightly better at the airport banks! The hotel room is very clean and modern, serviced daily with 2 free bottles of water daily, water kettle, tea and instant coffee in the room. Wifi signal isn't super strong but good enough to get by. There are many English TV channels including HBO. The AC worked great! Endless hot water in the nice roomy shower. While the shower drained quickly, the sink drain was super slow. Bedding was lovely - queen bed with 4 nice quality pillows. There's an elevator but there are still a few stairs. I really liked the in-room safe for my valuables and the mini fridge to keep my free water bottles cold. My room included breakfast buffet which was great. Omelette (or eggs made to order) and waffle station, fresh fruits, cereals, soup, a hot Philippine dish, scrambled eggs, some sort of breakfast meat, and 2 different juices in addition to tea and coffee. Service is great! The airlines lost my luggage and the front desk girls were diligent about giving me updates on its delivery to me (delivered one day later). I also borrowed an adapter plug from them. I didn't try the restaurant on site since there was a Pizza Hut 2 doors down. I really don't recommend staying in Manila unless you have to, and if you have to, then this is a great place to stay.

    3
    « Average Crown »

Upon checking in we waited for 2 hours for our room to get cleaned up. I asked Ella the front desk person 3 times when our room will be ready she keep saying soon. After getting upset because we were tired from 13 hour flight she finally gave us our room. I found out she's shuffling room trying to keep the nice room to their favourite guest.

    « Great location »

My fiance and I stayed here during her fiance visa process. I choose the hotel based on reviews here and according to the map it close proximity to the US embassy. The location was perfect. Two blocks away from the medical exam facility and two blocks away from the US embassy. No taxi needed. The rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good but not great. The hotel cafe food was also very good and ate there several times. The negatives. Street noise. Shower water pressure a little week. I would highly recommend this hotel for any business regarding visiting the US embassy.

« Bad hotel, worse area... »

Arrived to the hotel about 10pm and were greeted by concierge who escorted us to reception to check in. Receptionist was not overly welcoming. My partners card was having trouble and the girl couldn't provide receipt of declined transaction. Once we provided alternative payment we were shown to our "non smoking" room on 4th floor. The smell of dump started as we left the lift and it was only getting worse and worse toward the room. The room was very dated, stains on the sheets, horrible and cheap blankets wrapped in a sheet with lots of small black hairs. The bathroom left a lot to be desired. Apart from the smell the worst issue was the noise. It was nearly impossible to sleep due to street noise which carried on till after 5am. There was no chance you could have the air conditioning on at night because once again it was extremely noisy. Breakfast seemed very unorganised with food being average as its best. We check out 3 days early and moved to another hotel. I understand it is a budget hotel but I wouldn't stay again even if someone payed me to do so!

Great location, great foods, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. They are so accommodating and kind to everyone. Especially the kitchen department :-) This establishment is well designed and equipped to accommodate numerous and different types of activities. This is such a great place you really need to experience. Keep up the good work. More power to BWHLCM Family! Thank you very much for such a great experience.

« BEST WESTERN IS THE BEST--- 3STEPSAHEAD »

Best Western Hotel La Corona is one of the best hotel here in the Philippines because it has a quality services in terms of serving foods "what taste of foods, appropriate ingredients used, measurement and how to handle left over foods" . BW Hotel has a good ambiance, complete amenities, fully furnished of all rooms and having free wifi. All Staffs I have encountered were courteous, helpful, kind and approachable most especially " AYEN FERNANDEZ and NICKO CALIXTO" Best Western is the Best training ground for OJT Students... because it gives a lot of knowledge and all OJT can adapt the techniques and strategies how to became a better man and success person in future. To the management and all employees thank you for everything not only being a trainor or teacher to me and only for making me a strong individual but for accepting me and treating me like a family .. First of all the grounds and outside condition of the Hotel were very well maintained. It was beautiful to look at and enjoy. Secondly, the desk staff were very nice. They were friendly and informative. Now, for the room :) The room was nice and clean which thrilled my husband and myself beyond words. The bed was quite comfortable and cozy. It was nice having a coffee pot, hair dryer, and a good TV. Although we were there for only 1 night, we will definitely go back. Sincerely....MARTA MCSWEEN

« One of the best hotels. Excellent service. »

Best western is probably the best hotel. The place is very cozy and relaxing. The buffet breakfast at Cafe Arquiza is exceptional, the food taste good and the staff at the restaurant was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel has excellent staff especially vanie and trixie. I definitely liked it and recommend the hotel to my family and friends.

« Superb experience at Cafe Arquiza »

I was invited by my good friend, Ayen, to have dinner here at Cafe Arquiza. The ambience is cozy plus the relaxing music being played at the restaurant. All of the trainees greeted us with a warm smile and welcoming greetings. We were seated comfortably and there we were handed the menu. We actually hard a had time choosing for the right food because all of the listed food were so sumptous to taste. We decided to have Shrimp Sinigang, Pinakbet con Lechon and three fruitshakes. While waiting for the food the waiters invited us to sing in their videoke. It was nice tho. Sort of entertainment. Food was served after a few minutes and at first bite, oh! It taste great! We were all delighted and so full. Right after we tried their beer promo and ordered quesadillas and squid sisig. The food here are to be commended with two thumbs up! Good job to your Kitchen staff Alvin and Ramon. The waiters Richard and Ryan are so attentive to our needs, as well. We will surely recommend this restaurant to my other friends and workmates!

    « Very good situation »

We stayed at this hotel twice, for just one night each time on our way to and from another destination. Staff was attentive, helpful and courteous, rooms were comfortable and clean if not perfectly quiet at night (probably difficult in Manila), free WiFi was available, and breakfast was fine. Its main advantage, though, was its situation, a couple of blocks from the sea front and within walking distance from the interesting old Intramuros area, and the huge mall of Robinsons Place, were you can find everything from local food restaurants to luxury outlets. Just one small glitch: we had to wait forever for our dinner at the hotel restaurant. A pretty good place to stay in Manila.

« Best Stay in Manila »

It's got the Best staff, they are all so helpful. We have stayed here many years on our trips to Manila. We would not think of staying any where else in Manila. They have the Best Breakfast in Town. The ladies that work the front desk Camille & Ayen are just the best. Always ready to greet us with smile and so helpful. They are a real asset to the Best Western Family. They make our stay there so enjoyable. Great location, close to shopping Malls and entertainment, Love the CowBoy Grill. We will be back on Aug, 15th 2016 for 2 nights we will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary there in Manila before a flight to Tacloban Leyte.

    « Nice friendly hotel »

Really pleasant place to stay. The staff are all very friendly and obliging. There's a very pleasant reception area with a few comfortable chairs to sit. The small café to the left is very cosy and we dined there several times also enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Our room was at the back of the hotel and not much of a view but it as quiet as we where leaving the next day for our flights home. The room itself was faultless, a good size nicely furnished. We arranged pickup from the airport and where dropped off on our way back. The Driver was also excellent, not forgetting Richard who also made our stay special.

« Priced reasonably, good breakfast »

Overall, service was great. You get refreshing welcome drinks that my foreign husband enjoyed after a long provincial trip. Breakfast was good, coffee was great. You get what you paid for . When we booked, there was no hidden taxes , rates etc, and we did not have to pay to secure our booking which is also good.

    5
    « Buffet Breakfast »

When I entered Cafe Arquiza, I felt like a valued customer because of the service they're offered. If you even only come for the buffet breakfast it is well worth it. I really like the foods especially the omelette. Actually, I made a buffet in my table, haha. A delightful breakfast buffet ever.

« La Corona - Certainly The Crown for us. »

Stayed at La Corona from early a.m. Boxing day after direct overnight flight from Cairns, Australia. Checked in at 3 am local time and greater by friendly reception whom informed us that as we had 11yr old they upgraded us to a family room. We stayed for 8 nights, one extra as our young one caught some Manila Belly. The Hotel arranged a visiting Dr whom soon got her up and about. Great location not far from Major shopping Mall - Robinsons, 10 minute walk. Also short walk to Rizal Park, certainly worth seeing. Good day trip to Subic Bay with 'Gerry' hotel driver. First class staff service at all times, nothing a problem always friendly and attentive. Especially Chaw, Ryan, and Patrick in the Dinning room during breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend this.

Hotel is ok....not lavish so don't expect anything like the four seasons. It was very hot when I went and my room had a "musty" smell that I can't describe. I had to have my room sprayed because of it. The staff is amazing

    « I would stay there again »

I stayed for a month and found the staff very attentive. Meals were of good quality and plenty of it. The room was fully air conditioned and had its own safe. The large double bed was very comfortable and made up every day

« Horrible location, incompetent staff, sub-standard breakfast. »

I can't believe the good reviews for this property, I guess some people have very different expectations but if you've got experience of travel outside of the Philippines, you will be disappointed. The location is near Intramuros which is OK to look around for ten minutes. The streets are filthy and you will be bothered by beggars every time you leave the hotel. We spent every night in a taxi to a nicer area. The staff don't know what they're doing and look panicky every time you ask something of them. Breakfast was the worst I've seen from hotels in this price range around the world. Buffet selection is weak and when we ordered from the eggs/pancake station we had to wait a long time and then items arrived cold or with the wrong filling. Hot water for the shower was not available after breakfast.

Im surprised how spacious the suite at the 5th floor. It's very cozy. We enjoyed our stay. We also had a nice and fun dinner. The Karaoke night liven up the evening. Their Marketing Executives are so lively and inviting that they were able to made me sing. Thanks for the bear, my mom loves it.

« Amazing for a three star hotel »

I was scouting for a hotel for new year and somebody referred this hotel. It is near the church and a walking distance to witness different activities in Roxas Blvd and Luneta. Staff were so warm, friendly and helpful in the front desk like Trixie and Camille. A welcome drink was immediately offered. Mark Lorilla, the duty manager, was so willing to extend all the information and help we need all throughout our stay. He is a hands on manger. He sees to it that everything was ok. Cafe Arquiza offers a delectable food specifically pinakbet, Mark pizzadilla and salisbury steak. Cost was reasonable. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Staff AC, Ryan and Patrick were very attentive to our requests. Wow, the room assigned to us was cozy and very clean. Bedding was very very clean . The flooring and walls of the bathroom was so nice and clean. The only area that needs improvement is a brighter hallway. What a great experience. For sure on our next New Year and other events we plan to hold in 2016, we will be back to feel more of Best Western La Corona Manilas' service. Try this hotel! God bless to all personnel of this hotel. See you next year.

We stayed there for 3 nights. The room is clean, spacious and quiet. The staffs are friendly and accommodating. The buffet breakfast was good overall We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We"ll definitely go back there. Highly recommended!

« Don't use their function rooms for parties »

We've stayed in this hotel for my niece's birthday party. The hotel rooms are great, but holding an event there was a nightmare. Tech team was lousy. They did not prepare to make sure that everything was okay. There was a performer who was singing for the debutante, and suddenly, the mic's audio was turned off. When they were trying to show the AVP, they had another glitch. So many things happened that may have been avoided if only they prepared.

« Be careful with the street side rooms »

The hotel is nice and clean. Location is perfect in the middle of Manila. Near touristic area and night life. Rooms are nice. Bathroom are ok. Staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurant is good. Breakfast is big. But be careful to ask a room on the back side. Because the street is extremely noisy until late at night.

    « Good Value »

This hotel is conveniently located, the rooms are large and spacious and cleanliness is maintained. The services offered are tad expensive, they offer airport pickup for 750 php while we went back to airport for 250 php. We booked taal tour from hotel which was expensive as compared to what was available online. So our advice, stay there but plan your activities from outside.

    « Affordable and Nice »

I was staying at this hotel for 5 nights. My friend and I stayed at the fifth floor. The room was so clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Since my friend and I arrived early in the morning, they allowed us to put our luggage first and we would come back for check in at 12pm. The breakfast was varied and I love the foods. Thank you for giving us an amazing stay. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if I travel to Manila again. It's very convenient!

« ok but in need of more improvement »

Ive stayed at this hotel some months sgo but on this visit i was a bit dissapointed the hotel was having monor renovactions new front door and reception area and did cause minor disruption to the resturant area. i hope the hotel has further upgrade the passage ways are dark and depressing. i had to change rooms during my stay due to the uncomfortable bed i like a firm bed but the one on my stay gave me a bad back it was a relief to change rooms as the first room the decor was so dark and bit depressing The second room much brighter and far more appealing the hotel is in a good location although the area a bit dodgy but just be aware and no major problem I was a bit surprised at the amount of trainee staff being trained at one time and felt that they were not receiving the best of training . the room rate inc. breakfast whick was a bit limited the orange juice the only thing that i new it was orange was the colour but no taste and the fresh fruit was also limited. many of the items on the buffet were not for my taste but one can order what one wants must say some of the best crispy bacon i've had. In the bathroom the shower was a rain head but poor pressure there is a bath outlet in the shower i feel it be an improvement to instal a diverter and have a hand held shower as well on my previous stay i dont recall the bed being so uncomfortable i hope the hotel has not purchased all new hard ones the second room i was given was much better in decor and gave a good feeling i have planed to return after Christmas be interested to see how the minor front office upgrade turned out

« Good to be back! »

Nice to be back. Great breakfast selection and friendly faces keeps me from coming back here. Have to commend their hotel manager mark for making my stay enjoyable. He is always on top of everything! Look for him for he is always ready to assist. A true hotelier indeed.

    « Nice Hotel »

Yes! Finally had a good spot of this hotel. it is strategically located at the center of Manila. And for organizations or govt agencies holding a in-house training is very good and commendable. Since i am a sport enthusiast wherever the training was, i always bring a sneaker for gym, jog, or walk. Luckily, this hotel is near to Roxas boulevard! So i kinda like it! Plust during the night, we could just walk to Luneta Park or could be hooked to Ocean Park. Thumbs up! Food? I like it specially for breakfast. Like the freshness of their coffee. Function rooms??? Wifi connection????? Accommodating staff????? Rooms? ?? however you have to tell them for a make up room or else you will make the room more nasty as you stay longer. Over all? Its definitely recommendable to tourists or travelers who just want rest at the same time can do extra activities like jogging, walking at Luneta Park where the life of Manila is. And i think its affordable too.

    « Nothing to complain »

I stayed with family for 2 nights. I was staying at a different place but was not too happy with that one, so moved to this for the rest of my trip. This one was really neat and clean and as soon as we entered the room, we had a very good feeling about it, simply because how it is decorated and the lights, and the nice shower. Staff was great too, they issued extra key for the room without any problem (which by the way is not so easy to get at other hotels in Manila. you usually just get one). They also issued a universal plug (for me to connect my laptop charger), for free of charge. At some places I see that the hotels ask you to buy it. Food was good, but a bit expensive (we ate lunch one day at the hotel's cafe itself). Just outside are Jollibbe and Inasal, and at walking distance many shops - 7/11, ministore. Location is ,well, not too bad.. I did not have any issues, but I heard from others that it is not too safe around here especially if alone in night. So better take taxi only. All rooms are non-smoking but they have made a nice mini-garden kind of smoking area just outside the hotel, were you can have your morning coffee and read Newspapaer ... All in all, It was a good value for money.

« Good hotel in a good location »

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights before our 3 day tour to Banaue, then 1 night before flying home. Our goal was to see the sights in Manila over 2 days, to include; Rizal Park, Unesco's San Augustine Monastery, Cathedral, Fort Santiago, National Museum of the Filipino People. This hotel was perfectly situated for these, as well as the sunset over Manila Bay, the new Robinson's Mall, with Pizza Hut and 7-11 next door. Large well outfitted room with flat screen tv &10+ English channels, good WIFI, complete buffet breakfast. I needed more patience to deal with some of the well meaning but inexperienced trainees used through out the facility.

Its a small but clean Hotel with a good location if you like to be in the middle of the nigth life action of Ermita /Malate. Only short walks to Roxas Blwd. , Rizal Park & SM shopping mall. The Hotel seems to be mostly fully booked ,so make sure and reserve early for a good internet price. I like the place and I will be staying again on my next visit to Manila. Everything works out fine, the Hotel-staff is friendly and helpful, incl. is a good breakfast-buffet. What more can you ask for this price!? Last but (for me) not least , just arount the corner is "Coboy grill" live house with the very best musik bands in town. Enjoy!!

    « Peaceful stay »

we were greeted and welcomed by very professional, polite and nice staff. we had a peaceful stay. the hotel is near a bank, church and mall. in-room wifi is stable and reliable. Breakfast is not something to look forward to, you have to pay extra for bacon and pancakes.

    4
    « Very good hotel »

Room was immaculate and very comfortable. Staff was incredibly polite and helpful at all times. Staff also greets you every time they see you which was really nice. Whatever I needed, they were there for me. They even rushed laundry service for me when I realized that I didn't allow enough time (usually need 2-3 days). My only complaint was the weak internet that seemed to come and go (disconnected often). If dependable internet service is important during your stay here, you may want to consider another, more high-end property. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would stay there again were it not for the location (Ermita was a disappointment and next time, I'll stay in Makati or Quezon). Highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Manila on a budget. Very nice experience.

It's clean and all the rooms I ever use look new and fresh. Even the image of Eremita is not the best I feel save there and never get any problem outside the hotel. I get the best Spaghetti in La Corona and I try many other restorants in Manila. Compliment to the kitchen

    « Excellent experience »

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night. You will be surprise how clean the rooms. Me and my wife was impressed on how they treat their guest. All of the staffs are very friendly, accommodating and very welcoming. But there is one staff who made our stay an excellent one. The lovely lady in the front desk named ella. She assisted us with everything we need even printing our board-pass and she looks so happy helping us regardless of the time because its already late at night. Its sad that she is not on duty when we checked out, was not able to say thank you. Planning to go back here again with my family. It feels like a home not just an ordinary hotel.

    5
    « Good choice »

The hotel is clean with a good breakfast, its also near a Jollibee's fast food restaurant nearby. But for visiting Manila, its a good value. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is visiting the area and also very close to the American embassy.

    « Great place »

Stayed here one night to take care of some personal business. I would stay here again. The room was clean and very quite. It is in a very convenient location, depending on what you need to do. The food was really good and the staff was great and very helpful, especially Dianne at the front desk.

« 5 star hotel should learn from this hotel »

During the APEC meeting there were many flight cancellations, so I had to make several requests for a pick up. I landed on the bus terminal 3 hours later than planned and the driver waited all the time. The front desk gave me a few extra hours with late checkout. This is not a 5 hotel but the service is, it is clean, staff is friendly and well priced, all in all you will not be disappointed booking there. (this is what I am doing all the time) Hope you have a safe trip, and keep smiling

    4
    « EXCELLENT VALUE & LOCATION.... »

Chaw was our waiter in the restaurant and he, professionally and with friendliness, took care of our every need. Checking in with Ella was a breeze and, once in the room, several questions were promptly answered and attended to with a call to the front desk.

    « A decent budget hotel »

Nothing exciting, but it's a well-run decent enough budget hotel. Corridors of the non-smoking floor are a bit smoky smelling but the room was clean and fresh and the air con worked well (if a bit noisy). Good spread of breakfast. Nice helpful staff. Bathroom a bit cramped. Not in the most up-scale of areas, but Robinson's Mall is walkable. Convenience stores not far away. Also not too far from Intramuros, although Manila is not really very pedestrian friendly! A hotel that does what it sets out to do, but without any frills.

    5
    « Clean hotel »

This hotel is best hotel of its kind, the only issue is the surroundings. If only it's been located in a different area it would be perfect. The rooms are so clean, and been looked after. The staff are nice and friendly. Breakfast has limited choices but it's ok. Wifi is good. We leave our luggage while we went to Boracay for free.We will be back again next month.

    « Amazing Stay »

I was assisted by Aileen Fernandez upon making a reservation, she was very helpful esp with details around Ermita since our trip was all about taking my daughter to Manila Ocean Park and Museo Pambata. At check-in, Camille was very accommodating. My request of early check-in and late check-out was granted. During breakfast, there was this one Trainee named Raquel or Rachel (i really forgot her name), was very friendly and accommodating. She attended to all our needs during breakfast. And almost forgot, I was upgraded to a Deluxe Room. :D

    « It's okay »

The shuttle service from NAIA to hotel is not very convenient. I have to go look for the Nissan station outside of the airport, have to wait about 20 mins. for the car in a hot, humid, no air condition kiosk. The room they put me in in 5th floor doesnt look very clean. The room smells of urine, or maybe because the toilet was so close to the bed? I was so tired to complain. Had to stay there again on my last night in PI because it's already been prepaid. The room on my last night in PI is an upgrade, I had R#401. It was clean and comfortable. Will I be staying there again? Because of the distance to the airport maybe not. Taxi's cost me lots of money just going to any other places. Taxi to NAIA one way cost me PHP700, to Robinsons PHP 350. I find it too far from everything. On the plus side, the staff are very friendly and always smiling. Also like the free bfast buffet.

« Amazing Service and Great Staff!!! »

I arrived at this hotel very early in the morning as my flight was 6 hours delayed. Dianne, the front desk person accommodated me right away and got me my room in no time. She was superb! All throughout my stay, the staff have been very accommodating and respectful! There are too many names to mention! Thank you everyone for the great service! I will definitely go back there should my travels take me back to Manila in the future! Highly recommended!

« A quiet and friendly oasis in a sea of madness!! »

Stayed in this hotel for two nights at the start of a cycling trip in Philippines and it was a very nice place, with everything in the room functioning properly, including the toilet, which I have come to realise is the exception rather than the rule in this country. The bed was very comfortable and the linen obviously of very good quality. The place looked to be maintained in an overall very good condition, again seemingly the exception rather than the rule in the Philippines. Breakfast as buffet style and included in the price of the room with omelettes and eggs made to order as you prefer. The selection of other foods, both western and Philippino was very good and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in Ermita, which I subsequently found out is a bit of a red-light district with many bars around it and despite being approached for "services" in those bars, they nevertheless were very nice, with cold beer, which again seems to be the exception rather than the norm in this place. The hotel is within walking distance of many attractions, including the old walled city and the buzz in the area at night is quite alluring. I'd stay here again!

    « Hotel Corona Manila »

Staff very helpful and the breakfast was abundant and good. Location was okay. It does take time to get to from airport due to traffic congestion most of the time - a real issue for the city of Manila. But hotel is close to Manila Bay, very close to a Catholic Church down the street, shopping center and convenience stores. There is always lots of taxis and Jipneys (sic) to travel. Hotel offers special days trips to various good locations in that part of the Philippines that are usually reasonably priced. It is in an area where rich, middle class and street poor live together giving the visitor an insight into life in the Philippines.

    « Fantastic »

Great location and modern conveniences. Fantastic breakfasts and delicious food. Friendly and helpful staff make the stay here very pleasant. Cannot fault this hotel apart from not being able to change Agodo bookings. I have stayed here several times and this hotel will be my first preference each time I return to Manila. Thank you to the staff for making my stay here so pleasant and of course I will be coming back here next time.

    « Spotless »

Best western la corona is the best especially in cleanliness. More important I need when I'm staying in hotels is the cleanliness and the service. I was so pleased when I stayed here, the room was spotless, sorry to say this but i have a habit of spot checking / run my finger through walls and shelves in the bedroom and I was wowed! I stayed here 2 nights and I have no regrets. Highly recommend this hotel.

« Very Nice Western Hotel and Affordable »

This is a nice hotel that has many of the western amenities that some foreigners are looking for. It is reasonably priced, which can be difficult to find in Manila. The location is central near many restaurants and nightlife if that is what you are looking for. I would recommend for anyone who is looking for a nice hotel without paying too much.

« Decent accommodation in Manila »

I stayed here twice during my trip to the Philippines and wasn't disappointed. The rooms are a decent size and the bathroom contains a shower but no tub. I was happy to find a fridge in the room and that we were provided with 2 complimentary bottles of water each day. On our first visit breakfast was included in the rate. It was pretty basic but sufficient to set you up on your day. Location wise the hotel is fantastic. It isn't too far away from anything and taxis are readily available. One tip - call your own taxi from the street. The bus boy will hail a taxi for you and whilst you think you're getting a great deal, in reality he's arranged 'meter plus 50' :/ It'll be easier to arrange you own - even for the airport. You will not pay more than 200/PHP, whereas the hotel transfer is around 600/PHP.

    « Another nice stay.... »

This time we spent 5 nights in the 3 weeks I was on vacation. Two nights when arriving, I must admit, my memory is a bit hazy when I arrive, after about 20 hours on planes and another 8 hours in layovers, I just want to get washed and go to bed. What I do remember is check in was fast, the room was quiet and comfortable. And breakfast was very good. My flight out was at 6h35 am so I again missed breakfast on the second day. After 10 days in Thailand, our return flight was a night flight so I arrived at the hotel the second time at about 7 am and check in is at 2 pm. They didn't have a room immediately but around 9 am they upgraded us to a Deluxe room and showed us to our room. Great service !!! Was a little less tired so I we were able to go to Robinson's and then visit the Hobbit House for a drink. We had planned a day in Tagaytay so we were off on the second day. Pretty much a bust since this was during the typhoon Lando an we just stayed in our room in Tagaytay and came back the next day. I had booked a Deluxe room for the last day and it was ready when we arrived (around 1 PM) and spend another great night before taking the shuttle to the airport to come back to Canada. My only complaints were the price of the shuttle is now 750 php, up from 500 php a year ago. And the first room had a mildew problem in the shower, all around the metal fixtures there was a good quantity of mildew. But besides that the stay was great.

We would definitely come back here for another short stay .

« Good hotel in the heart of it all »

I stayed here for one night during a 24 hour stay in Manila. I was given a free upgrade to a large comfortable room because it was my first time staying with them. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast at the hotel was good. I liked the location of the hotel personally but it may not suit everyone. The photo of the hotel shown on websites has had much photoshopping and makes it look like the hotel is on a spacious street when it is really on a small narrow street. There are many bars, eateries and shops nearby. I would stay again.

« Still a great hotel at great prices. »

Each year when I travel to Mindoro in the Philippines I spend one night at this hotel. It is roughly 30 minutes from the airport and in a regular taxi (With the meter on) you should pay about P300 to get to the hotel. Once you arrive it is an oasis on the edge of the red light district of Ermita. This need not worry you however, and it is relatively rare to find a lady of the night here. When I went to the check in I was a bit surprised to find that the whole of the reception staff had changed. I was not overjoyed because over the years I had developed a liking for the reception girls. I need not have worried though the new girls were very friendly, helpful and professional. The bell-hops were equally good and having taken my bags to my room, I was shown the tea and coffee maker and air con. Indeed the boy even set the air con for me to my favorite temperature. The rooms are large, with large comfortable beds. Indeed my only complaint regarding the accommodation is that in my room (612) the light above the hand basin is too dim to see yourself shave. Breakfast is the high point of every visit. They serve everything from Bacon and eggs to cereals, yogurt and toast and exotic fruits as well as the usual coffee or tea and fruit juices.

    « A hellish stay. »

This is my second stay, the first stay was just so so, but my second stay confirmed what my first feeling was, hence making this review. First, I noticed when I checked in are the employees. I just felt the staff are not sincere when they engage to me. Even though they say the right things you want to hear, their body language says otherwise, I just went to motion as I will be staying one night and flying out to head home. The clerk place me to room 202 a hell place to stay. It was near a bar and yes all night I hear music and singing. I am really tired from a delayed flight from Malaysia and I already remove all my belongings from my luggage and place all my things in the room to arrange it in the morning. And the music start, you ask why you did not change your room? if you see what I have and you are so tired and weak you just deal with it. I drink nyquil to make me sleep to deal the noise instead of re-packing. I let the front desk clerk about my stay and to my surprise she did not even say they are sorry, just a stare and turn around went to the back room. The other clerk try her best to assist me in checking out. I have a better experience with other hotel about three blocks away from here but rather choose this from other reviews, so I can give them a chance. Not anymore I will never come back to this hellish hotel.

« Nice hotel at bargin price with great staff.. »

Stayed twice at this hotel when passing through Manila to get flights. Was a nice surprise, better than a lot of the 4 star hotels I have stayed at before. Rooms and bathrooms are a good size, well maintained and very clean. Staff are all really friendly and helpful, some of the best I have seen in Manila. Nice buffet breakfast with hot and cold selection...ask for bacon if there is none provided. The restaurant does good reasonably priced food and cheap cocktails. Good free Wi-Fi and plenty of TV channels. keep up the good work.

    « 5-star service »

It was a pleasant stay. I really enjoyed my time here. I commend their breakfast most of all. I've stayed in other hotels and they offer only plated breakfast meal or buffet but with very few selections. With Best Western Hotel La Corona, they have more than 3 viands, cereal area, yogurt, bread section, freshly made bacon, pancakes and egg station. This is really value for money! A boutique hotel that felt like 5-star service! Love this hotel! I hope all Best Western are like this! Thank you all for such an amazing experience.

Getting to the hotel ...
