Very good hotel in Manhattan Beach directly on Highway No.1 and only a few minutes' drive from the beach. Great courtyard, average breakfast and spacious rooms with little natural light. Ideal for 2-3 days to explore Los Angeles. Free In-house garage.
I'm a Hilton and Marriott Snob, but immaculately clean and comfortable. I had a little living are and kitchenette with fridge and microwave. Bathroom again immaculate. Even the outside hallways were immaculately clean. It appears some of the HVAC might leaks, but clean towels were placed prophylacticly to prevent wet walkways. Staff was welcoming upon arrival and departure. Breakfast was very plentiful with nice selection of hot and cold. Parking in Underground Garage isn't gated, but had no problem. I was there for quick and overnight before an LAX Flight, but there appeared to be a very nice interior Courtyard partially covered to allow for any kind of weather. I'll definitely stay here again if the need arises.
First of all, the front staff was amazing. We arrived early and she stored her our suitcases. And was very pleasant to work with. My wife fell in love with the room, and it was absolutely perfect. Clean, comfortable bed, this is one of the best Best Westerns we've ever stayed at.
One of the best hotels we have visited. Room, housekeeping, location and staff were the best! A beautiful courtyard, delicious full breakfast and a very spacious suite. The hotel everything you can possibly require. Lots of restaurant in the vicinity. Thank you for making our stay very comfortable.
First the good, then the bad. The parking garage always had an available space. The room was very clean. The pillows and mattress were very comfortable, although everything was tucked in at the bottom so tightly I couldn't wrap the sheets and blanket around my feet. Had the room serviced once in 4 days and they did a great job, although the other days cleaning staff were pretty noisy outside our room. Now the bad. The shower pressure was a dribble. Water would come pouring out of the spigot and then when you turned the shower on water only came out of the center of the shower head. For a room that was supposedly recently remodeled the shower head was 80% clogged so the shower was terrible. Finally, there was a sulfur smell emanating from the sink faucet, which is outside the bathroom, which was most foul. A little google search showed that smell is from bacteria in the water system. Also awful that you can't wash your hands after using the toilet without touching at the very least the door handle to exit the bathroom and use the water from the bacteria ridden sink that smells like rotten eggs.
The sofa bed mattress is quite thin rendering that sofa bed very uncomfortable even just for one night. Hence not recommended. Otherwise room was clean and staff very responsive to request for additional towels and bed sheets for registered number of guests (5 of us). Although microwave and fridge there is no plastic cutlery or plates to warm up food. Overall expected a bit more for the room price paid.
We experienced a Great and friendly service. Our room was Very clean and staff are accomodating with needs and requests. Offer breakfast for stayers. Constant staff presence. Offer local recommendations. Definitely recommend, central location.
Everything was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with lots of options to choose from. The receptionist that checked us in was very friendly. We were very happy with our stay. I would definitely recommend to family/friends. Only thing I didn't read was that the pull out couch was a single mattress but that was my error. Everyone still got a great night sleep.
Nice room and showers. Clean. Parking ok with $20 fee for 1 night. Check in guy was a bit off with me and plastic cutlery and paper bowls and plates at breakfast was a bit poor but otherwise no complaints. Breakfast food choice was fine. Handy for airport.
Thank you so much for a great stay! We loved having a kitchen in our room, it even had a dishwasher. Saved us money on vacation which is always a plus! The staff was super friendly and worked with me to get us checked into the room early after a long night and morning traveling. Also, parking is secure and underground as well so it was cool for the vehicle. I would definitely go back!
Everything from the check-in to the checkout was great. The room was clean. The check in person at the front desk was very nice. The lady the next day or the girl the next day was very nice. The people were nice. That maintenance guy was nice. The hotel was nice. It was clean. The only thing I can say is I did not know that I was gonna have to pay for parking $20 a night. I'm glad I only stayed one night other than that. I was very happy with my stay.
The hotel is nice and clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was pretty good. My only complaint was the the pipes in the toilet were running all night long making it very difficult to sleep. Woke up tired and not refreshed at all. It was a lot of money to spend not to get a good night's sleep. The lady at the front desk comped our parking and said that was all she could do. She also said we didn't give them a chance to move us so that was why no refund. I explained that we got in late and the kids were already asleep so I didn't want to wake them. She gave me her general manager's card so I could email him. I did email him and explained how our stay went but as of now I haven't hear back from him. We'll see.............
My overall stay was very pleasant. Every one was very nice and helpful. Always greeted coming in and leaving the building. The only issue was the WiFi didn't have a strong connection.
The checkin was easy, and the clerk friendly. The room was quiet, and comfortable. I really liked the comfortable bed.The shower was great as water pressure was good. Everything in the room worked. The TV selections were ample. The breakfast included hot and cold foods. The coffee was excellent.
This hotel is immaculate. We stay in many nice hotels and we are very impressed with this property. Fully remodeled and the staff is friendly and efficient. Location is perfect for accessing LAX and also going down to the beach for dinner. Highly recommended!
Really not sure why this is called a Best Western "Plus" hotel. The place is clean and serviceable, and the front desk clerk was nice, but the location and room itself left quite a bit to be desired. I'd thought from previous reviews that we might be able to easily walk to restaurants and the beach, but neither is as close or pleasant a walk as one might expect. The hotel is on a very busy street (Sepulveda), and though we did indeed walk up to a major shopping center several blocks away (on the same street), which had plenty of good stores and restaurants, the walk itself was unpleasant, what with cars zipping by, etc. We didn't even try walking down to the beach because it looked farther and potentially more unpleasant walk-wise than we'd expected. The room itself was small, with one queen and a "sofabed." The latter was absolutely terrible—just a single or perhaps twin size, sagging terribly even before anyone got on it. The person I was traveling with, who was young and didn't weigh much, had a really bad night's sleep on it and ended up with back pain the next day. The TV is small, at least compared to TVs in other hotels we've been to in recent years—I'm guessing maybe 32 inches (a lot smaller than our own 50-inch TV at home). The queen bed was fine, but in a very tiny "room." The bathroom was remodeled nicely and the tiles in particular in the shower were very attractive, with a beachy feel, but the shower itself, which had a curtain, had no grab bars, and the tub, though it had some sort of grip strips on it, felt somewhat slippery. I certainly wouldn't advise anyone with balance issues to try it. Even worse, though, was that I simply couldn't get the temperature of the shower water to be anything other than scalding—and I'm someone who likes hot showers! By the way, this hotel charges $20 for parking, which seems unreasonable, given that you can easily park in a relatively nice area across Sepulveda for free. The breakfast was fine—standard fare for this level of hotel. In sum, given all the hotel's drawbacks, I wouldn't stay here again.
The front desk staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. It was excellent that there was a hot drinks machine free of charge in the lobby. The hotel was in a good location with access to restaurants. The rooms were very comfortable, clean (although under the beds could have done with a quick hoover) and nicely decorated. Breakfast was include in the rate but was quite poor in choice and quality and had a very strict cut off point whereby fridges & cabinets, etc., were padlocked! !
As a Diamond Select member, We were upgraded for free to the 1-bedroom King Suite with the electric fireplace and full kitchen from our 1-bedroom 2 Queen Suite with a wet bar. We were extremely pleased with our overnight stay at Manhattan Beach BWPlus. Yesse was the staff member that checked us in and she was a delight. She took excellent care of us. Very positive staff Yesse is her name. Likewise, the all-inclusive breakfast was also excellent providing seatings both inside and outside in the lovely garden courtyard. Food and drink were as expected for a BW plus. This hotel was quiet despite the fact they are located on the busy Pacific Coast Highway and the LAX airport is only 4 miles north. Manhattan Beach is only about 1 mile to the west. Catch a Uber to the LAX or take Metro bus 232 located stop directly across the street only took $1.50 for 2 seniors to catch their flight via cheaper bus ride. Ask for a garden courtyard room rather than a city view room for guaranteed quiet. Our room was great. We enjoyed the electric fireplace and our bed and pillows, as well as shower, were great. Manhattan Beach BWPlus is very close to lots of businesses and appeared to us to cater to business folks travelling. Safe area. Both the Metro rail stops and the Metro bus stops are close by and between LAX and this hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and again.
Room was dirty and the air conditioning on was as if a semi trailer was in the room. Breakfast has a good variety.
Once you get off the busy Pacific Coast Highway and pull into the underground garage, you can start to relax and enjoy this oasis in the city of Manhattan Beach. Located near dining and shopping, the beach, and only 4 miles from LAX, upon arrival you start getting the beach city vibes instead of the hustle & bustle of Los Angeles. I was greeted with smiles and a warm welcome and cold bottled water. There's also a complimentary specialty coffee machine in the lobby, near where the great free breakfast is located. The room overlooked the beautiful outdoor courtyard with nice seating and an array of flowers & tropical plants. My room was very clean and peaceful, quite comfortable. Everyone was exceptionally warm, polite, helpful, and welcoming. Parking has a nominal fee but it's the lowest of all hotels in the area. I will stay here again and encourage you to enjoy this hotel without question.
The location is convenient, away from the hustle and bustle, yet close enough to enjoy the area. The beach and boardwalk with shops and restaurant are a short drive away (5 mins maybe). The rooms are spacious and clean, beds are comfortable. Amazing Breakfast choice including a full 24 Hour Starbucks Coffee Bar. There are inviting indoor and outdoor space. Underground parking for $20/night. Highly recommend! I typically do Hilton and Marriott but after reading reviews, I decided to book this. I'm glad I did.
Spacious and very clean. Nice staff and wonderful breakfast! We decided to stay here after our cruise before departing from LAX the following day but we wish we had stayed here the night before our cruise. It's a very convenient location with shops and places to eat close by
Great place , great location and room loved the set up and breakfast was really good would definitely return here , room for family of four using sofa bed and two queens was great , small kitchen area with sink, fridge and microwave, kids loved the waffle maker at breakfast and good selection of food
Staff was friendly. There were extra breakfast items that we really enjoyed. Room was very clean. The bed was OK, it's hard to judge because I sleep on a higher end mattress at home but I didn't wake in pain! I was concerned by the traffic noise initially, however it had drastically quieted by 10pm.
Very good hotel for families We stayed there in January 2024. The room was comfortable, kitchenette and bathroom functional Added advantage is a courtyard with relaxed seating. I used guest laundry which is very cost efficient Hotel personnel is friendly and knowledgeable about the area - restaurant recommendation which we followed was excellent
Smooth check in process. Room was clean. We only spent one night so couldn't enjoy the amenities much. Grounds looked nice. Easy easy access to the airport without being in the airport area. Took me 10 min to get to Economy parking in the early AM
From initial check-in, experience was great. Sergio, front desk clerk was friendly, even provided us with bottled waters and a couple of cookies. The hotel & elevator smelled so good without air freshener being overpowering. Room was so clean, even the baseboards! Furniture was well maintained. I did use the gym, unfortunately no sanitizer spray and paper towel dispenser was out which was nothing but a bump compared to the experience we had for our 3 nights. This will definitely be our hotel moving forward.
First time at a Best western with my family for a surprise birthday party. I have to say I look forward to staying here again . The staff is friendly and attentive. The hotel is clean and smoke free. The free breakfast is a wonderful plus. Jackson Family
Room was fine except that it reeked heavily of marijuana even though this is supposed to a non smoking facility. They should have gotten rid of that smell before assigning the room! The toilet ran all night and at one time wouldn't flush. Beds were decent and the room was a nice size, but I don't think I'll be back.
A comfortable stay in a very spacious room only a few minutes drive away from the beach. Bed was very comfortable. Tip: ask for a room not directly on Sepulveda (tiny bit quieter that way). Desk staff were helpful. So many good restaurants right by the beach. Amazing to watch sunset at the pier.
I had a pretty good experience at the property. The parking fee was quite reasonable for the area it is situated in. It is quite close to Manhattan beach and LAX as well. The staff were heartwarming and helpful. They were cooperative even when I faced an issue with my booking vendor. They gave me time till checking out to have the issue resolved. The complimentary breakfast was very filling and it was like an icing on the cake. I visited the property during the new year weekend but there were still quite a few parking spaces in the parking lot. So, no need to worry about parking in general. I'll visit this property whenever I'm back in LA. Keep up the good work Best Western :)
Great value in Manhattan Beach. Comfortable well run hotel. Closest area to Highway 405. Good free parking. Can go north on PCH to Santa Monica and Venice Beach in 25 minutes without using 405 and LAX in 15 minutes. 10 minute drive to Manhattan Beach esplanade-beach area with great walk alongside mansions between Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach,. Excellent TV set-up. Get the Suite with the kitchen. Separate bedroom and 2 TVs.
The room was decent with nicely renovated bathroom. The kitchenette was just what we needed, however you will need to provide all your own plates, silverware, bottle opener, etc. The wooden shutters are cute but do NOT block.out the light so if you need darkness to sleep as I do then take a sleep mask! There was mold around our window and a broken window screen. The bed was not comfortable and felt like we were sleeping upside down as it dipped down in the middle. The courtyard with fire table was a nice place to sit in the evening. Elevator sounded like it was about to break every time we had to use it so we used the stairs most of the time. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was plentiful but mediocre.
Road trip California Good location for Manhattan Beach and amenities- approximately 5 minute drive into town. Parking available at a charge Pleasant staff. Rooms are well equipped but a little dated. Free breakfast was very enjoyable and good choice. I'm a busy road and can be a little noisy but ok as a base camp to get around the area.
We have stayed at this location 4 times over the past 6 years and always find it to be clean, the staff is friendly, and a hot and tasty breakfast. The self serve coffee machine is a great bonus! Only a mile or so to the Manhattan beach pier.
The hotel staff has great customer service and positive vibes! From the front desk, housekeeper, breakfast staff they were all wonderful and went above and beyond. I had to extend my stay a night and they were quick to accommodate me, on a very busy, near capacity night. Very appreciated
Sadly after we explained that we were trying to check in because we were late for a funeral. ........ we were still charged an early check in fee .......... Oh well, I guess. Hotel seemed fine and rooms were very clean. Breakfast was ......... Ok. nothing fancy and nothing great. Might stay again if in the area
07/10 - 07-14 Excellent experience with a very professional hardworking staff. Everyone from the front desk, breakfast, and housekeeping staff would greet us and help every guest with anything they needed. The area is family safe and conveniently located next to strip malls for essential shopping. Would highly recomend and stay here again.
Really nice best western. We stayed for 1 night as we had a LAX flight the following day. Super cute boutique best western. We had a little kitchen in ours. Everything was clean and tidy. Front desk Yessie was super kind and helpful with us as we had a best western gift card and used it to buy some things at the hotel and she was helpful with us in letting us know how to use it as well as restaurant recs! Would stay here again.
Our stay at this hotel was great. The rooms were very clean and the people who work here were polite, friendly and very helpful. We were able to walk to the beach and it was close to the airport. The location was great and parking available too. We can highly recommend this hotel.
Close to the beach and local restaurants. Staff was nice, breakfast was great every morning. We liked the different flavor options for waffles! Overall our stay was good, we enjoyed everything we were offered
My work trip to LA was great. I was able to book a room at Best Western Plus on short notice after I didn't like my air BnB. The front desk attendant was very cheerful and helpful. I got to my room which was very clean, spacious and the bed was ultra comfortable. I love the location of this hotel in close proximity to restaurants and shops. I would definitely book here again.
When we arrived our room was immaculate (and I'm picky about that). It was the perfect room for two. Breakfast was good and a nice variety. And the breakfast attendant was always on top of things. Every staff member we encountered was friendly & courteous. I'd definitely stay again (and I don't say that very often).
I paid over $300 per night for a tiny room with hardly any space for a family like ours. The floor in the room felt dirty and needed a deep clean. Mattress was too saggy. And on top of that you have to pay $18 per day for parking. Based on all of this, I wouldn't stay again. The only good thing the hotel has going is a nice looking courtyard.
We were very happy with our experience at Best Western in Manhattan Beach. It's a good location - takes about 5 minutes to get to the highway and quite close to LAX (but not nearly close enough that you'll hear planes all night like other hotels near the airport). The breakfast was great - different waffle flavors for the kids, a yogurt parfait bar, etc. The rooms were very clean and the staff friendly. It's by no means a luxury place, but we were comfortable, clean and safe and that's what matters the most.
We stayed overnight prior to a flight and Sergio who was working that evening gave us a great suggestion for dinner nearby. He also assists us when our TV was not working and moved us to another room. The location is great with lots of restaurants and shopping within 15 min walk. It's also a 30 min stroll to Manhattan Beach. The room was large and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was really good especially the waffle making station. Would highly recommend for a short or longer stay. Our only advice is to request a room not facing the main road as it's quite busy.
I stayed here to be close to family, but I wouldn't repeat the experience. The main areas of the hotel seemed dirty although the room was clean. The worst part was the bed. Sheets were scratchy and mattress way too soft and saggy. Although the room was quiet, we slept poorly. In the morning, the skimpy tubes of shampoo and conditioner weren't sufficient for two people and the tiny towels were threadbare. Breakfast was as expected, although the coffee was abysmal. Overall, a yuck impression. More like a regular Best Western than any kind of Plus.
I am a rewards member. I'd say that I typically stay at Best Western 95% of the time and this was one of the nicest and cleanest ones I'd stayed at. This stay we had very little interactions with staff, but what little we did was friend. Beds were comfortable. Room was functional and roomy. Didn't really hear any road noise or other guests. Walkable places to eat. Breakfast was average.
A comfortable well- equipped hotel with recently refurbished rooms, $15 parking onsite. Great breakfast included and a few restaurants close by. About an easy mile walk to the beach and downtown through a pleasant residential neighbourhood.
My mom and I stayed here for two nights in September for our vacation. It was absolutely amazing and the room was perfect for the two of us. Tv had the most channels I've ever had when visiting the U.S., and it had the second best breakfast I've ever had from a hotel. We walked from the hotel to Manhattan beach a few times and then went up to Santa Monica. I will stay here when I visit Cali again as I can't say enough good things about our stay! We actually had zero issues or complaints so thank you!
Needed a reasonably priced place near the airport. Quick trip to rental return in morning. Disappointed when arrived that hotel had a motel feel -- exterior corridors oriented around a courtyard. Always feels a little less safe to me. But the room was clean, staff was pleasant, location was what we needed, parking below the hotel was free, there were restaurants nearby, and there was a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. No complaints.
The rooms are refreshed! Nice courtyard for breakfast and relaxing for a drink in the evening. I had the king suite with kitchenette and electronic fireplace. Nice. Highly recommended, the $15 parking should be advertised and was a surprise.
really disappointed with the hotel as for the price I expected much more. poor quality of breakfast and having to use paper cups and plates with plastic cutlery felt cheap. rooms are tired and need of a refresh
As soon as I opened the room to my beautiful, spacious suite, everybody exclaimed: "THIS CANNOT BE A BEST WESTERN!" From the friendly, smiling check-in by Sergio to the deluxe bathroom and roomy, tastefully decorated interiors, everything far exceeded expectations. The suite allowed for complete privacy and everything looked brand spanking new. It was affordable luxury at its best. We loved the high-end decorative touches such as plantation shutters in every window, modern lighting features, and a doorway that overlooked the courtyard. The kitchen was fully decked out and every need of the weary traveler was considered in the amenities. Bravo! Will never look at Best Western again with a dismissive eye.
My boys and I always stay here when we come to the beach from the central valley, Close to the beach and close to the dodgers game. Dad and boys trip every summer. We cant wait to come back.. Oh and noahs bagels is across the street.
The Best Western Plus in Manhattan Beach is a great value. They have a good breakfast with a nice coffee bar. The location is close to the beach and LAX. The staff were nice helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking.
The hotel is on a main road and looks like an upscale motel but the rooms are large and clean and they serve a good breakfast. The rooms were also quiet - we didn't hear any noise from outside. Otherwise it's a good 25 minute walk to the beach and there's not much going on around the hotel so the location is not ideal. But for the price it's a good choice.
The room is great with microwave and mini fridge, breakfast has varied choices and all day coffee. Mahattan beach is in walking distance and not so crowd. It'll be great if offer complimentary parking.
Convenient place, nice cozy rooms, professional staff and calm place on busy road. Many food options near by that i walked by. Even i took a morning walk to beach in 10-15 mins. Overall experience was really good.
I picked this hotel because it was one mile from the beach in a safe neighborhood and close to the airport. I loved that the room we stayed in had a kitchen because that saved us a lot of money. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The laundry was extremely limited with only one washer and dryer which were both often in use. Once, another guest took my laundry out shortly after I put it in because they didn't think the machine was running. I had to pay again to re-wash my clothing. The instructions for how to use the washer and dryer could be better. I loved that you got free coffee or tea from the lobby all day. The breakfast was your standard free hotel breakfast. The highlights from the breakfast was make your own waffles (instructions also confusing at first though) and the sausage. The oatmeal was disappointingly gelatinous. My friend slept on the fold out couch and found it very uncomfortable like most fold out couches. I had the bed and it was very comfortable. The room was very clean, but there was quite a bit of wear and tear such as stains and holes. I couldn't find any other place this close to the beach for this price so overall we are very pleased with this hotel and would stay here again.
We book for 9 nights threw Booking. In the third day the elevator was out of order, this is the fourth day without elevator and it wont be fixed any soon. They have nobody to help with the luggage. If you have any disability there is no solution. The Wi-Fi just worked the first 4 days, then it stopped working and it comes and goes, it is impossible to work, and no one has any idea how to fix it. There is no hot water in the morning, just barely warm. Shampoo is refied every other day, I went out and buy one. The first day our room was not made. In the breakfast there is only one toaster with 2 sides, and one is not working since we arrived. There is no safe box in the room, they offer in the lobby. I travel very often all around the world and I never had such an awful experience.
This hotel met all my needs. Its location served close proximity to LAX and the Beach. The customer service at the hotel was excellent and very attentive to my needs. I felt safe walking around and being there. The hotel is also had a much more elevated experience than other Best Western Plus or comparable brands. Oh and the beds were like sleeping on a cloud, a MUST STAY!
Rooms are clean. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was very good. with many choices. What brings the rating down is the fact that upon arrival we were asked to make the sofa bed ourselves in the room. We had booked a room for three and of course assumed the bedding was prepared for three. There was apparently no other staff except the man at the front desk. We were just handed over a set of sheeets and this is not acceptable considering the price we paid. Hostel standard. Also there was a lot of noise during the night and early hours from other guest passing outside our room and not paying any consideration to others.
This hotel was great in every way. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The atrium in the middle of the hotel was wonderful to enjoy both day and night. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. We loved our stay and look forward to staying there again!
I can say that after many stays at Best Western hotels over the past ten years this one is the top on our list. Very clean, first rate service, updated and snappy also easy to get to from airport and freeway. We will stay again every time we visit Southern CA. Considering it's in a great location and the prices in today's economy I must say they offered reasonable prices for rooms that were large and offered small kitchen accommodations large TV screens and sitting area. We had to check in late yet the person at the front desk was friendly and gave good directions how to get to our room safely. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the greater L A area.
I have no idea how this hotel has achieved this many stars. The room we were in, 218, was right by the freeway. The noise is constant from 5.30am and even the noisy AC unit could not dampen the drone of traffic. A number of times in the night I was woken by noise of traffic screeching. Apparently we 'reserved' this room. Yeah right. We booked through Expedia where there is no mention of the room being so close to traffic. The hotel is responsible for their Expedia statements. The breakfast is hardly healthy. A apple or an orange were the only healthy options, as well as sugar laden yoghurts. We have been in the US for 3 weeks and this is one of the poorest breakfast spreads we've seen. I note from another TripAdvisor review his comments about downgrading of the Best Western standard and in particular the 'Plus' hotels and I couldn't agree more. This should not be a Best Western Plus. Having driven through the Manhatten / Hermosa Beach districts and seen those hotels on Expedia there are much better options than this one. I wished we'd refused to check in when we arrived
If you are looking for a reasonable and safe hotel to stay in Manhattan Beach, this is it. My room had a kitchen as well as a queen bed. Everything was clean and I felt safe. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and GrubHub delivers as well.
Parking is fuss free, breakfast is yummy, staff was nice... the rooms have a cozy layout. This was my second time staying here... just a great, reliable, fuss free place to stay. I would stay here again.
It was exactly what we needed for our stay, which was being close to family. It's not the most luxurious hotel when compared to Shade or the like, but it's great for a Best Western. Staff was very friendly and helpful, hotel was clean, outside sitting area was nice. I didn't try the breakfast, but there were people in there every morning.
We have been to Los Angeles several times and this time, we decided to try a stay in Manhattan Beach, which is one of the nicer beaches south of LAX. It's a bit of drive to hollywood or griffith park, but not too bad, and you can spend more time on the beach, even in the winter. Case in point, we were in LA on the last week of 2021 before new year and it was reported as one of the wettest on record (it rained a lot), still there was enough days to enjoy a walk on beach on the non-rainy days. So the BW plus is located on Sepulveda Blvd, near Manhattan beach (5 min drive). It's not far from the freeway (110 and 405 to the north), and you should be able to get to most places from there. Also, you can explore further south to hermosa beach and torrance, including the del amo mall which was once the largest mall of the us. Lots of dining options in the area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had suite with a separate bedroom and a living romm with a sofabed and kitchen, great for our family of 4, two teens. One tv per room - our tv in the living room was just installed 2 days before, according to the management. They have an extra armchair to sit, and a desk near the kitchen (a full kitchen with stove, sink and full size fridge). Bathroom was fine, clean and well maintained. Checkout was simple and service is good. They answered promptly to our requests. Maid service is free but you have to request. No issues with that. Breakfast is a highlight, as they have a full buffet breakfast with hot items (scrambled eggs, sausage, hashbrown, oatmeal, and 8 types of waffles). Good coffee too. No issues finding a table but you can bring your food to your room. Hotel is pretty compact, all rooms facing an open atrium, some with windows facing the street, others facing the atrium, so it is easy to carry your food upstairs. Speaking of windows, we had a room that faced Sepulveda Blvd (aka pch or hwy 1) so there is traffic noise from the street, like some other reviews reported. And yes, it is audible, but the interesting thing for us is that it only bothered me the first day and only me. I am not sure if I got used to the noise, or if the traffic was less intense the other days, but I can say we actually had a good sleep the days. I wonder if that would be the case on the summer. One thing that is weird is that you need to park on the hotel parking slots for check in. There are some temporary parking shared with the vet clinic next door, but most of the guest park on the underground garage. For us, that was a plus because it was raining, so this way you get to your car without getting wet. Also, I didn't see security in the parking lot, but didn't feel particularly unsafe either. All in all, we enjoyed our stay. We found that the BW plus in Manhattan beach was a good compromise in terms of affordability, hotel comfort and location, and we may try it again in the future.
The best Best Western I have ever stayed in. The breakfast was amazing and we all slept so comfortable. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff super nice and professional. Would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The room worked great for our family of five. The location was great for visiting the beach and Los Angeles tourist sites. The area was safe and close to excellent restaurants. The breakfast was just what we needed to start our day right. The nearest beach is beautiful and easy to access from this hotel. We will definitely be back.
Great experience and great value! Rooms are large and it was very quiet(my room faced the main road). An easy walk to the beach, nice restaurants, a mall, a ralphs, and a coffee shop. This is a well maintained property and good value for the $
The staff are nice, but this is an odd little boutique property. First, the PRO: This is the ONLY hotel that has offered Almond Milk at the breakfast area! For me, this is a huge deal. The staff are friendly. Everything was immaculate, clean. THE CONS: This is a quirky little building. Most rooms have NO outside window, and I felt somewhat confined. One room did have an outside window, that looked right into a bookkeeper's office stacked high with paper, and she was working away late into the night. I changed rooms, and the next room did not have an outside window. Not a pleasant room to linger in if you have any issues, which I do. I like a window to at least look out, or get fresh air. The only window opens into a small, indoor courtyard. I kept the window open with the blinds closed, but people walk by those windows, so that was a bit creepy for me. But, it was late, I was tired and I stayed. The room was clean, smelled fresh, the bed was comfy and the TV worked. The room even has a little kitchen and sitting area. I would not return unless it was the only option in the area. Parking was $10 under the building. There was a pastry /coffee shop right across the street. It is on a main road towards the airport, with a ton of fast moving traffic outside. But the staff tries to keep a cozy place. It might work for some people.
Stayed overnight while seeing the Rolling Stones at SoFi Stadium. We booked a junior suite which was really the same price as a double room. Nothing fancy, but the room was clean and comfortable. We did the advanced check in so when we got there it only took a few minutes to go right up to our room. Very short drive to the beach the next day and lots of dining options within a 10 minute drive
We loved the property and the cleanliness. It was convenient to everything we did. The only thing I was a little disappointed that there was not a spa but the beach was only about 2 miles away, it was a nice morning walk.
Best Western Plus is serene and beautiful. The ambience was relaxing and inviting. I will definitely be visiting again. The stay was peaceful and calm. It didn't seem like anyone was there. My children enjoyed the Breakfast and I enjoyed the work space available inside the room. The entire stay was simple and pleasant. You will not be disappointed staying here. Sergio and Geo were wonderful and so is the entire staff.
The floors in the room could use a little more attention when cleaning, bottoms of feet and socks seemed to get dirty pretty quickly, but other than that the room, hotel, staff and breakfast were great. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
I can't think of any way my stay could have been improved. The facility is super nice, the staff is great and very accommodation, and the location was just what I needed.... easy walk to the beach with many amenities also close enough to walk
If we had judged this book by the cover, per say, we probably wouldn't have stayed. The outward appearance and lobby could both use some TLC. However, the room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay!
The hotel was in a nice location in Manhattan Beach. The rooms were clean and our suite was spacious and comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic with fresh fruit and eggs and sausage and hash browns, yogurt and toppings, and waffles. The coffee machine allows you to customize options and flavors. The terrace is a comfortable place to relax. The rooms face the terrace so sometimes people were loud and the blinds allow light in, but I would definitely stay here again.
Carpeting in poor condition. No amenities in kitchenette. Elevator was super slow. Breakfast was bagged and not available in breakfast area. It appears that my debit card was charged twice for a single stay. Rooms are very small and poorly furnished. Dead bug on pullout bed.
So they have shutters on the windows that ALL face a courtyard with lights that never turn off. No blackout shade to block the light that filters through. Had to ask for blankets and sheets to place over the shutters to block the light. We were on the first floor. Didn't sleep a straight 4 hrs in 3 nights. Turned the AC down to 50 at nights and still was soooo not. The sink for the bathroom didn't drain it was sloooow...had towels with what looked like mascara on them.
Great option for a stay in Manhattan Beach. Big enough rooms, easy parking and access to everything in 5 min. While COVID has disrupted some services the staff make everything possible so that you have a nice stay. Really recommended.
Very nice and comfortable stay that is close to the LAX airport. The outside/hallways may fool you, but the rooms are beautifully renovated and clean. The only caveat, was that the rooms were extremely small. We had a queen bed, but honestly it seemed like a full. The distance to the beach, food and dispensaries was also great.
From the outside looks very deceiving due to the busy street on the main Road when arriving I can't believe how clean the whole property was they really respect the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines I was very happy with my stay also very quiet and respectful with hotel guests staying as well I would definitely come back to this location when traveling business or vacation
We loved our stay here again it's always super clean and peaceful. The only thing is the parking shouldn't have to pay $10 a night if it's going to be full and not have parking if we decide to go out. it's a problem I have to deal with not cool.
Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel. While looking, I had a long list of what I wanted in a hotel especially during COVID. I travelled with my husband and two young kids and so wanted to ensure that 1) we were in a safe neighborhood and were walking distance from shops, 2) not busy, 3) great reviews on yelp, trip advisor, etc, 4) larger room and because of COVID 5) enforced mask use and had safety cleaning protocols, 6) didn't require an elevator to get to our room, 7) didn't require we walk through a lobby and 8) front door to our room was outside to eliminate being near others as much as possible. All were met with this hotel except #7, however the lobby was pretty spacious and so I felt safe. Our room was on the first floor, however we sacrificed having a window facing the street and natural sunlight, nbd. The room and property was very clean. We did bring wipes to sanitize high touch areas, but overall felt like they did a good job cleaning. Customer service was very friendly. Parking is underground at $10 and there was plenty of parking even when the hotel was full. There is an elevator to the hotel lobby, however we always used the stairs (in case you wanted to avoid elevators like myself). Due to COVID, there is no buffet breakfast, but they have a list of items you can choose from at the front desk. Frozen breakfast sandwiches, organic juice, cheese and nut packets, granola bars, Danishes. The hotel is walking distance to lots of shopping. The beach was about a mile away. Not ideal with kids, however parking at Manhattan Beach is plenty and inexpensive and the next day we even found free residential parking. If covid is a concern, they have enforcer officers walking around making sure you're wearing a mask in high walking traffic areas. The reason why i'm giving it a 4 is that the beds were the worst ever! We stayed multiple days and we all had trouble sleeping. Unless you like your bed very soft, I would recommend staying elsewhere.
This hotels was very clean ,modern and close to the beach,1 mile. They had breakfast included in the price of the room but we never got, they offer a to go bag now because of COVID-19.We chosen to eat out.The parking per night is $10 which is cheaper compare to any hotels in LA area. This is pur second time staying here and we enjoyed it.There is no housekeeping due to covid 19.We'll be back next time.
We really enjoyed the hotel it was really clean & nice inside, cant wait for our next stay they have internet. Clean beds & bathroom, my family really enjoyed there self's and my mom as well stated with us she loved it
Ben was so helpful as our arrangements changed a few times. This place is special, from the center court layout to the pleasant rooms. They have just the right amount of space to make your visit perfect. Great shopping and restaurants very close.
To have a pleasant stay is how you were greeted and treated. From picking up the phone to make a reservation directly with the hotel, checking in and checking out. The staff were friendly, patience, helpful. I was not happy with the cold breakfast (due to COVID restriction), the staff genuinely empathized with me. I picked up the phone and made the reservation directly with the hotel reservation staff. He was very helpful and I appreciate his assistance and patience when I was deciding on choice of room. . I rated sleep quality as average as the bed is too soft. I literally sank into the bed. I guess all Best Western's beds are the same as I had stay in various BW.
This hotel was a great base for days out in all directions. It is a clean modem hotel with lovely big rooms with kitchens and living areas. All communal areas were kept clean and staff were very helpful. And a great all you can eat breakfast each morning. you can easily walk to Manhattan beach, which is a stunning wide beach with a lovely little pier. We would recommend a trip to vince beach and from there you can walk to Santa Monica ( bit of a walk but lovely on a warm day). Universal is expensive but a great day out. And lots of places to eat in city walk just outside. Then a short Uber ride to the walk of fame. The best way to see the sites and all the famous places is on a big bus tour which you can jump on and off all day like a taxi, they point out so many famous places that you just would know if you were driving ( and this way you can also have a beer or 2). We also did a smaller tour of Beverly Hills which was good too. I think in this busy city it is better to just use Uber or Lyft much easier and not too expensive just download the apps.
I honestly have to say Best Western Plus Manhattan beach is the best place to stay at no questions i felt directly at home at peace everything is clean and staff are friendly 7 min away from the beach
We stayed here for a 5 night stay, to enjoy the sights and sounds of LA before heading on to Joshua Tree and Death Valley National Parks. Easy to find, very close to LAX. Underground parking was very much appreciated. Nice and quiet at night, very confortable beds, easy to get a good, restful sleep. A well stocked hot breakfast every day, great housekeeping, very clean room, all appliances TV etc. worked fine, a fitness center that we used was well kept, and Jim who was working the morning shift at the counter was a great guy, like him very much. All in all, I recommend this location highly.
Have been staying here during the winter months every year. Love the property and everyone is so friendly, efficient and very professional. It feels like home every winter. I love the underground parking, the proximity to the airport and the freeways in and around LA.
This place is so worth far more than what you pay! Large comfy rooms! Really nice patio/ courtyard. Guest laundry. Free breakfast that offers a wide range of options including waffles, eggs and hash browns, fruit and yogurt. Then, dinner is complimentary Monday through Thursday and every night is a different theme. On top of that, free wine and beer. The staff are really nice and helpful. The hotel is a little over a mile walk to the Manhatten Beach pier. Closer by are some shopping centers, grocery, pharmacies and restaurants. I stayed here recovering from surgery and was completely happy!
Exceeded expectations! Close to beach, clean, easy parking. Breakfast is expansive. The rooms are so nice and feel like your own little beach apartment with the wood shutters. Updated amenities and seems to have been recently remodeled.
Stayed here for about 8 days. The room was cozy although a bit moist. The breakfast was very nice with almost too many choices. The social hours on Monday-Thursday is basically free dinner (saved me $$$). They have a super nice coffee station in the lobby too. Front desk was very helpful.
This hotel is a hidden gem!! I admit when I hear Best Western, I am not necessarily thinking of being pampered, but at this BW, you will be! Upon check in we were greeted warmly with a smile, free cookies, and info on the many free amenities the hotel has to offer. The property is clean, clean, clean. There is a coffee and tea bar available 24/7, an amazing free breakfast buffet, and a social hour each evening with free food, beer, and wine. The room was great and plenty big for our family. The hotel has these great little courtyard areas outdoors with really nice furniture and fire pits. It is a one mile walk, or a cheap uber to the beach where there are lots of super cute little stores and nice restaurants and bars and coffee shops. All this plus LAX is only 10-15 minutes away. Parking is only $10 which was great after the crazy prices at other hotels we stayed at during our trip. We cannot say enough about this great property. Management, you are doing a great job choosing employees who truly seem to care about the customers.
Stayed 4 nights, it felt cozy like a home, not a hotel. Daytime front desk staff was nice and helpful; night staff was nice, but not as helpful. Breakfast was great! I'm on a dairy-free diet and appreciated the almond milk option! Don't wait until last minute to eat though, a couple times staff had taken away the food a few minutes before the advertised closing time. Outdoor courtyard is very nice, with modern comfy patio furniture. The room looks exactly like the pictures; updated and cozy (plantation shutters on windows, modern flooring & cabinets). Shower/tub was spotless, and I'm picky! Hotel sits right on a busy road, so it can be a little noisy at times, but that's no fault of the hotel - just FYI if you're a light sleeper. Even the hotel lobby bathroom was very nice and clean! Coffee/tea available in the lobby 24/7. I walked to the beach - 1 mile/about 20 minutes. Always felt very safe. I loved Manhattan Beach AND my stay at this hotel. When I return, I will stay there again - outstanding value for the price!
Spent 3 days exploring this lovely area. Did not need a car and Uber was around $14 each way with tip. This was one of the nicest BW hotels I have stayed in. Very modern updated lobby. The rooms were very nice. Had queen room with separate area with desk, small hide-a-bed couch and fridge and microwave. The bed was a pillow top mattress, which was a little too soft for me, but, I still slept very well. We were on the 3rd floor in room 302 by the elevator. It was quiet. Hotel has a lovely outside corridor in the middle of the hotel. So very safe and you can sit outside, while still within the hotel. Breakfast has everything you would need! Hot items, cold items, make your own waffles, and a homemade yogurt machine with toppings. Best Breakfast offering I have seen in a hotel. They have a 24 hour coffee machine that has a variety of choices. The beverage center also has hot and cold water machine and a variety of teas. Social hour Monday-Thursday with wine, beer and heavy appetizers. You wont need dinner! The front desk staff was outstanding and super friendly. We arrived early and they stored our luggage until the room was ready. It is a mile walk to Manhattan Beach, Very safe. Lots of unique bars, restaurants and shops. Highly recommend this location and hotel for a quick get-a-way. There is also a shopping mall a few blocks away that you can walk to. Highly recommend this hotel! What a gem.
We came in for the US Women's Soccer Olympic Qualifying Tournament; they were playing at the LA Galaxy Stadium in Carson. We wanted to stay closer to Manhattan Beach and explore the area. I researched all the hotels and found this Best Western to have all the amenities we needed; location, free parking, breakfast, wifi at a reasonable price. It beat our expectations; the room was big and contemporary, the breakfast offered the biggest selection I have seen with hot items and a waffle bar. Along with a coffee bar. The staff were all courteous and helpful. And the location was excellent, a 5 minute drive to Manhattan Beach, across the street from a Target with a Trader Joe's down the street. The 405 freeway was 7-10 min away. This hotel worked out perfect for our needs, I would stay here again.
This hotel is superb. It's clean, the staff are helpful and pleasant and the food is really good. It feels really cozy there. The 24 hour coffee machine (I think it was a Coffee Bean?) is a great "perk," with amazingly tasty brews that are fresh. I have been coming to this hotel for many years and they do not disappoint. The location is fabulous and the parking (garage) is FREE and I never usually have any problems finding a decent spot. The happy hour is enjoyable and set up nicely, with friendly staff and good bites. I love the outdoor access to the rooms and the courtyard. This is my go-to hotel whenever I visit LA and I am going to booking a room again, coming up this year. See you all soon!
Our stay at this hotel was one of the best hotel experiences we have had at a hotel. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety and the happy hour events during the week with beer and wine were a big bonus. Very safe location.
Nice rooms and sitting area outside. Rooms were nice, roomy and clean. The outside sitting area in the center of the hotel was really nice with lots of places to sit and even enjoy a small fire. Real cozy. Nice hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. Would or will stay again.
Check-in and out was very fast and everyone at the property was really kind and helpful. The room was very clean and even had a fridge for us to use as well as a microwave. Breakfast had a lot of options to pick from and tasted great. The beach was only a drive away from the property, which was also great.
This is my favourite hotel when visiting LA. Manhattan Beach is a safe, clean neighbourhood with everything you need in walking distance. Close to airport. The hotel is faultless everytime. The best breakfast of any hotel i have used in LA. Staff are great, premises is clean and comfortable.
We stayed here for one night before our early flight the next day. We hadn't eaten dinner yet and were so surprised at the wonderful happy hour selections of good wine and beer. The hot food assortment was also wonderful with savory lasagna and crispy wings. Check in was a breeze as well. Clean room, great parking situation and good amenities. Will stay here again!!
This property was very clean rooms nice and modern .Elizabeth was nice and knowledgeable. Would definitely return to this property. Last visit to San pedro location dirty heater not working rude mngr. Never stay at San pedro location
The room was clean and large with comfortable bed. Free parking, nice lounge area in the cortyard. Breakfast was good. Convenient location if travelling to/from LAX airport. The surrounding area seemed safe.
Modern hotel off Main Street. A mile hike or walk to beach or pier. Large breakfast spread. Old hotel refurbished tastefully with patio lounge. No beach view near shopping. Good beds and some small kitchenettes.
Very nice Hotel. Great courtyard. Nice Suite , looks newly updated. Comfy bed, even the sofa bed was ok . No pool or hot tub. Short drive to town and beach. Friendly staff. Breakfast was a nice selection. Something for everyone. Coffee machine with all kinds of specialty coffees and hot cocoas delicious and nice touch.
Stayed twice here on our fly drive holiday. At the beginning of our trip and the end. Really love this hotel. It's clean, comfy beds, good location, lovely breakfast. Can't fault it at all. The only thing I would query is there is a lovely hotel opposite called Residence by Marriott for the same price as this BW only it has a pool. This hotel should perhaps be slightly cheaper as it has no pool which is nice to have to relax around after a busy day.
The room was clean and fresh. My room tv remote was even wrapped and clean. The couch in the room was not that comfortable to sit on but the room over all, well exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival I was very early and they offered to take my luggage in the back and hold it till a room was ready. They were so kind and helpful.
This will be a favorite for the area for sure and not far from LAX. Robert at the front desk was Awesome!!! Extremely nice and kind. Breakfast was good too. We did have a room facing the boulevard, but I didn't mind it. Very clean and spacious. It's about a 10 min drive to the beach, with no traffic.
We were in town for our daughter's beach wedding and had all wedding set-up materials with us (ie: a truck load of stuff!). This Best Western was close to the beach and priced well for the area. It was truly the nicest BW we have ever stayed in! Super clean and very spacious room WITH a kitchen AND a living room area! The staff were all courteous and quick to help with check-in/out. Because of the pre check-in feature, they were aware of our circumstances and room preference and were able and ready to let us into our room early. The breakfast area was stunning with a beautiful outdoor patio area in a relaxing garden setting! We will use this BW any time we stay in the area in the future!
Exceptional service from all staff along with may pleasant surprises from the hotel. Rooms large and extremely comfortable. Location was exceptional for our requirements. We had a party of 4 with two rooms and both couples have nothing but praise. Thanks
This is off a very, very busy road - so if road noise bothers you (like me) pick somewhere else to stay. It's a little bit sketchy to park. It's an underground lot that's open to the public - no gate to put in a card or anything. Plus the elevator up to the lobby is open. Strange they lock the front door at night but the elevator from parking is wide open. I checked in very late, so unfortunately the choice of rooms was very slim. The woman was accomodating, as the first room she put me in had a very noisy ac unit outside it, so I switched to a 3rd floor room near the elevator. I never actually heard the elevator, so that was ok. The room was quite large with a desk, kitchenette and sofa in it. Would probably be great for someone who was staying a bit longer and would use it ( I was there 1 night). The bed was really comfortable with enough pillows (!) and I liked how the shower/toilet was separated from the vanity. I like to sleep with the windows open for a bit of fresh air, but it was challenging with all the road noise. Breakfast was included, and there was a really good array of choices - yogurts, waffles, cereals, fresh fruit. Really well done. I used the small gym and it was fine with what I needed. There are a lot of shops/ restaurants near by as well as the beach (do need to drive). Overall, definitely a step up from typical Best Western, but still a bit expensive for what it is.
Spend one night at Best Western Plus Manhattan Beach & the whole experience was amazing. Extremely kind staff, breakfast was great, underground parking available. Room was great: relaxing beds. The front desk staff was great along w/ the staff in the breakfast area & the cleaning people in the lobby of the hotel.
We flew Into Los Angeles and stayed for one night at the Manhattan Beach Hotel at the start of our Road trip. It was around 15 minutes drive from the airport which was very convenient for us. It was clean and comfortable and we were made very welcome by the young lady on reception. The beach is within walking distance at around 20 minutes. The breakfast was complimentary and we thought it was great. The room was spacious and we had everything we needed.
Breakfast is great! Proximity to the beach was good - less than a 30 minute walk. Diana and other staff members were extremely helpful. Hotel feels like a luxury hotel yet it is quaint and relatively small. Love that it is only a few minutes walk to Target - very convenient. Also, the staff was very helpful and understanding when we had to check out a day early due to my husband having a heart attack back home.
We've stayed at Best Western Plus Manhattan Beach the last 3 Summers! From the nice rooms to the beautiful courtyard to the friendly staff to the complimentary coffee and food options I just can't say enough good things! Hate to leave this property every year! A little pricey at times but willing to pay knowing the comfort of staying here. Great access to Beach, other Beach towns and downtown LA! Although far enough to enjoy quiet time from the crazy hustle and bustle of the big city! Best Western but such a quaint little hotel!
The breakfast here is amazing with a huge variety. The staff was quick to replenish anything that ran out so there was always fresh food. Denayt made our stay wonderful and didn't hesitate to help us. She lite the fireplace for me and my mom! Always made sure to see how we are and if we needed anything. The hotel is also very well kept! We enjoyed our time in the courtyard area.
After reading the positive reviews on here we decided to book the Best Western for a 5 night stay in May. We chose to pay a little extra for an apartment room which I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in LA. Ot was a very good size with living room, full kitchen with dishwasher, oven, hob and fridge and all basic utensils and cutlery. It has a separate good size bedroom with large bed, wardrobe area and average size bathroom with bath and over bath shower. The staff were so polite and helpful letting us know about places in the local area and the maids were brilliant, the apartment was spotless every day. Although there isn't a bar or restaurant they put on a social hour in the evenings with wine and cheese and biscuits which is a nice touch and you can sit out in the small outdoorsy area in the centre of the hotel. There is also a very good selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate available 24 hours and many different flavour syrups. The breakfast is a small spread but the food was good enough to get something little before a day out. Parking is free and is under the hotel. There are plenty of shops , bars and restaurants along the same road and you can walk down to the pier were there are more. We took a short drive (10min about a 40min walk) to Hermosa beach on one of the nights which had some great bars. The manhattan beach area is about a 45 minute - an hours drive into Hollywood as the traffic in the centre gets really busy ! Although we stayed in hollywood for 15 mins and would say it's not worth the visit, it's not what you see in the films at all! Venice beach is around a 30 min drive away and from here tou can take a 30 min stroll along the beach to Santa Monica pier I would recommend a day between these 2 beaches just to say you've been, nice beaches with a few cafes and shops along the way. Santa Monica has plenty of shops and some rides on the pier. Whilst in LA we also visited Disney and Universal, both of which was about an hours drive from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again when visiting LA there is enough around but is away from the main hustle and bustle of the city. All main attractions of LA are within an hours drive which was fine for us.
Stayed here 2 nights this past week. VERY nice rooms. Comfortable, and set up very nicely. The breakfast was amazing. I've never seen so many choices at a hotel breakfast before. Incredible! Very nice underground parking. Just everything was nice including all the staff I dealt with. It was a pleasure staying here!
The room was very clean ,modern and quiet.Too bad we had to leave 2 nights early .The check in was smooth and fast. The free parking was a plus because we didn't have to move the car,we just walked everywhere. The walk to the beach took us 20-30 minutes. So many things around:stores, mall, banks, etc.Very convenient location. The breakfast was included but we never woke up early enough to eat.Would be nice if they would serve breakfast until 10 during the week too nit just the weekend . We loved our stay .We would stay here again.
The hotel did not meet expectations of Best Western Plus. The room was spartan and cold like any cheap hotel room would be but this was not cheap by any means. When a room change was requested due to lack of satisfaction I was greeted with resistance and then a $40/night upcharge.
I was on days 7/8 of a 12 day road trip. This was by far the best hotel I stayed at. The staff was friendly, the bed was very comfortable, the food was on point and the outdoor space was a perfect place to unwind!
Extremely tasteful furnished king suite room and public areas. Nice courtyard. Very friendly front desk clerks. I felt perfectly accommodated and valued as Diamond member. Very well lit garage with plenty of room to manoeuvre. We did not have breakfast, so cannot comment on that. Decided to stay again after my experience in 2018 although price is on the higher end.
We were in the area visiting our son. We stayed three nights (Fri-Mon) and the hotel grounds are beautiful and within walking distance to the beach - it is a long walk though. This hotel is right on the street and the noise behind the property can be a bit loud at night. What makes this particular Best Western property exceptional is the staff. The women preparing and maintaining the breakfast area always make certain to keep everything well stocked and they do not let anything get low so you don't have to wait for eggs or bacon or other popular breakfast items. Ben and Michelle at the front desk were very helpful and kind. Ben went above and beyond when we were concerned about noise in a room next door and we were able to move into another room without any hassle. Robert moved all of our luggage and items in the refrigerator and went beyond our expectations - he actually took the time to place my husband's shirts on hangers and hang them up and also made certain to put our items that we brought (fruit) into the refrigerator. The hotel is very clean and the housekeeping staff kept the rooms we were staying in immaculate. All in all I believe this is the best value for your money between the room cleanliness, the pleasant staff and the delicious breakfast.
If you are looking for a perfect vacation spot, this is it. Quiet and accommodating are the first two words that come to mind. Complementary breakfast and dinner with adult beverages! The drive to LAX is quick and easy. The staff members are overly accommodating and kind. Free underground parking makes it easy to access your vehicle. If you have children, Polliwog Park is less than a mile With a pond full of ducks, turtles, and two large playgrounds. There's also Adventureplex; indoor playground less than a mile from the hotel and cheap. The hotel is just over an hour from the heart of LA and 5 minutes from Manhattan beach. Its an ideal spot! Spoil with yourself with the amazing high tech coffee machine in the morning or wine in the evening. We really appreciated the staff here and the clean room. This vacation has been amazing because of this location. I cant wait to come back.
This property has always been up to my particularly high standards for service. The staff is always ready to proactively solve problems or issues. I have a preference for a third floor room, I always have been able to accommodate my wishes, only once, through no fault of the staff's part, was I not able to get on the third floor.
After a long 16.5 hours flight, we just wanted to check into our room and recover from the long flight and immigration delays. When we reached there after waiting for 3 hours in LAX immigration, we found ourselves in an extremely occurred situation, when the receptionist denied us check in because we didn't have a working credit card. Unfortunately, my credit card was not activated for overseas use, and to make things worse, the phone banking site was under maintenance on that day. Also at that time, it was midnight in my home country and a holiday, so couldn't call anyone in the bank to set things right. This is happening to us on our first ever day in the US and we didn't even have a local phone number. Everything was new to us and didn't know what to do. We tried everything possible to set things right with the card but nothing was working. After running out of options, we made the receptionist aware of the situation we were in, hoping that she would let us check in based on some other guarantees. I even offered to make a deposit of USD 5000/- for our 3 nights stay. In spite of our several pleas with her, she wouldn't check us in without a credit card that was physically handed over by the cardholder, as I had contacted my relative in NC who was ready to give his card details over phone to resolve the peoblem. Even that wouldn't help. We felt let down by Expedia also, as they don't mention at the time of booking that credit card is a must for check in. The lady at the reception simply didn't want to understand our predicament and was apathetic towards us, who were severely sleep deprived and disoriented after a 16+ hours travel and 3 hours wait at the immigration queue. We hadn't slept for over 26 hours by then. We were feeling miserable as this was our first ever visit to US and all options were running out for us; we were on the verge of getting thrown out of the hotel. Somehow we managed to get the card working atter almost two hours at the hotel lobby. All this while, the lady in the reception didn't show the basic courtesy of making us comfortable to tide over the situation, and didn't offer anything to drink, though coffee and tea is available at the lobby 24x7 for free. I agree that hotels have their policies and procedures in place. But there should be some workaround in exceptional cases like this. It is my humble suggestion to the hotel management to train their front office staff to be at least courteous and welcoming, even if they are not able to offer a solution. She didn't want to look at any other options, which just shows a serious lacking of basic humanity. This episode overshadowed our entire stay in the hotel, though the rooms and breakfast were good.
Nice clean room. Check in was easy. Staff checking us in was pleasant. Got a goody bag for being a bw member. Parking available. Room was clean. Only wish the bathroom sink was in the bathroom. No major complaints.
We stayed here for 3 nights in April, and had a great time. You will need a car to get to the beach, but we had no problem parking at the beach. Onsite parking is well lit and felt safe at all hours. The rooms were very clean and spacious. There was a separate living room/kitchen area and a bedroom with a door. Which was nice for us early risers, not to disturb the late sleepers. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The continental breakfast was excellent. They had about 6 flavors of waffle batter to choose from and plenty of bacon, eggs, fruit ... etc. A short trip to all the famous spots .. about 20 min to Venice/Santa Monica. A nice walk along the strand will get you to Hermosa Beach if you want a little nightlife. We made it to Hollywood in a little over an hour via the scenic route (Mullholland Dr). This was post rush hour .. and a great breakfast at Uncle Bill's Pancake house at MB pier. So many places to eat in town, we couldn't get to them all. We were close enough to the airport to make a quick getaway, and far enough from it to not feel like we were staying at the airport.
Our stay here was just lovely! The rooms were spacious, clean and so nice. We were greeted so kindly and offered a bottle of water when we checked in and also given a bag of snacks for being rewards members! We were just amazed! Breakfast was amazing! So so many difference choices and the hot food items were even different on the 2nd day of our stay. And the coffee/espresso machine..... well that thing is the stuff of dreams! The front staff were all so kind and welcoming and even gave us a bottle of water to go when we checked out. Easy parking, lovely hotel, just an all around great experience. And located in a nice spot in town! We loved everything about our stay!
The venue location is small and quiet, very quaint and comfortable. Just the way I like. Nice decor, inviting. Would definitely stay again soon. Thanks for making my stay enjoyable! My only problem though was the cable tv reception.
Best Western Plus Manhattan Beach Hotel is a comfortable, affordable hotel in a great location in Manhattan Beach. It offers clean, comfortable rooms with small kitchenettes, morning breakfast, and a location close enough to the beach (approx a mile) that you could walk to the pier and the sand and enjoy one day or several relaxing in the Calif. sun.
For once the hotel reviews were trustworthy, this truly is a nice place. And actually shines like a star among other Best Westerns I have stayed in. :D Really exceeded my expectations. The rooms are beautiful, clean, spacious and comfortable. I loved the fact that the coloring of the room was something else than the usual brownish... Parking was super easy in the underground lot and free of extra charge. Breakfast was better than in any other hotels during my stay in California, though I wish they would serve warm oatmeal instead of the packets that you mix with water yourself. The location of my room was a bit noisy, but the way the staff handled my complaint on that issue was quite exceptional, so that was a very minor thing in the end. I don't think I have ever been this content with any hotel before and I have seen luxury resorts... The reason is probably the fact that my ecpectations were exceeded: the quality of the room very high for the price I paid and the service exceptionally friendly.
Nice hotel but before getting comfortable, check out the mattress quality. Sadly, ours was not up to par. Staff is super friendly, breakfast offers variety, but eggs were fair at best; expected when it's complementary, however, ultimately the customer pays. Elevator broke down and there were no contractors available so we had to carry 4 flights to the garage. It happens. Management was very receptive however, so can't hokd them accountable. I'd would stay there again but be prepared.
Everything about this hotel was fantastic. From check in to check out it was a great experiance. The rooms were clean and I liked I could put a sign on the outside door to have it serviced since I would return earlier in the day. All in all I would recommend staying here.
The weather on the first day wasn't the best but, the staff was quick to offer suggestions for nearby shops and possible attractions. The food from the hotel is amazing. If you eat the breakfast and the food that provide in the evening for the social you will not need to eat out. Their food is amazin!
When I first pulled up, I didn't think this hotel was going to be as good as it was. When we parked underground, my opinions did not improve. However, when we stepped off the elevator into the lobby, my whole outlook changed. The lobby was well decorated and appealing. I arrived during cocktail hour where the hotel offered wine and beer and a light dinner. I was given my room key after a quick check-in, walked through the outdoor lounge area to my exceptional and spacious room. The beds were soft and comfortable, I had the best nights sleep! The only negative about the stay was the lack of water pressure in the shower and the water temperature did not get as hot as I would like. Overall, fantastic stay!
We stayed here after getting back from a cruise. It was only an overnight but I wish it could have been longer. I read through the reviews before booking so I knew it would be nice, I was still completely amazed after arriving. The complementary breakfast was way beyond any expectations. I am severely gluten sensitive so I never put any faith into being able to eat complementary food. This place took it all into consideration. Breakfast consisted of hash browns, eggs, two kinds of bacon, make your own parfait station, baked goods and cereal. The best part was the make your own waffle station. With plenty of batter dispensers and two machines you had hot and ready waffles. The best part was they included gluten free batter! They also had a self serve coffee station that put coffee shops to shame. It has every option you could dream up. The staff kept the food well stocked and the eating area super clean. The turnover was quick so there was never a wait for tables or food. We had a group of people so the two types of rooms we booked were the one bedroom suite and the single suite with the sitting area. Both rooms were very large and very comfortable. The only thing to note, is that in the one bedroom suite, the bathroom is in the bedroom, if you travel with children they will still need to go through your bedroom to get to the bathroom. The rooms were fully stocked with a full kitchen and all the supplies and cutlery needed. I found the location to be great. It is approximately a 5 min drive (not walk) to the beach. The hotel itself does not have a restaurant on site but it is surrounded but a lot of very good and easy food options. The staff was amazing. Extremely helpful and very friendly. We needed a larger cab to transport us as a group and they were very helpful and knowledgeable anytime we were at the front asking all sorts of questions. Our entire group left wishing that we could have stayed here longer. This is defiantly my hotel of choice anytime I am in Manhattan Beach.
I was expecting this hotel to be lower quality than others I had stayed at in this area, but I was pleasantly surprised how much nicer it was than I had expected. It had everything I hoped for and more. the breakfast was great, rooms were clean and well furnished. The Exercise room was great and I used it every morning. I could not be happier with a hotel.
I chose this place for our two night stopover because it was a fairly easy taxi to and from the airport, but the downside is it is a bit remote. It is possible to walk to Manhattan beach but an Uber only cost about £5 - down there are some nice restaurants and bars. The hotel itself has everything you would expect or need, the room was a typical motel type with facilities to prepare (or at least eat) some food and drink in the room and the communal areas were very pleasant with an outside fire pit and seating area. Breakfast was fairly standard but everything was in good supply and all very clean. All in all a great base for a couple of days exploring.
Excellent location and easy to move around LA. Very quite neighborhood. Parking garage was very convenient. Plethora of choices for breakfast, on items that I have not seen in other BW. Overall a nice place to stay in LA area.
One of the best hotels I've stayed at. Amazing staff and so close to the beach! We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was beautiful with a full kitchen perfect for a small family the sofa pulled out into a bed
I stayed 2 nights and was really surprised and amazed with their quality! Very nicely decorated rooms, great style, clean, nice staff, excellent breakfast included in the price, although located at the very busy Sepulveda Blvd, you don't hear any traffic noice inside. This will be a “coming back” on next trips! Definitely!
We stayed for 3 days 2 nights last week, and had a good time. We stayed in January last year and remembered it being very good, We were in a one bed roomed unit on the second floor with a full kitchen. Secure underground free parking. A free coffee machine to make your own specialized drinks all day in the lobby, I am now hooked on the vanilla coffee's. Breakfast is included, and was very good, lots of seating, plus a very nice courtyard. Mon through Thur's they have a social 5.30 to 7.30 with beer and wine. On Wed it was Lasange, garlic bread, stuffed peppers, salad (excellent) On Thur's Pork stir fry, vegetables, veggie rolls, etc all very good. We spent Wed at Manhattan Beach, (10 min drive or 25 min walk if you prefer) Thursday at Hermosa Beach and Friday at Redondo Beach. Hotel is also close to LAX if needed for that reason. Lots of pluses here, we recommend it. Thank you and a happy new year to all.
We stayed for a night and enjoyed every minute. Arrived, got excellent service throughout! Breakfast was warm, lots to chose from. Social hour got free beer, wine and lasagna, other food as well! Loved it
We chose this hotel as it is close to LAX and we had an early flight the next morning. It's about 10 minutes from LAX. We also like to got to the beach in Manhattan Beach. It's a nice town. The hotel on the outside doesn't look very impressive but we were presently surprised by the inside. We were giving a King suite that had a living room and kitchen area. We had no complaints with the room. The hotel staff at the font desk were friendly and helpful. Check in and out were a breeze. They even gave us a goodie bag when we checked in because we were Best Western members. This was our 3rd Best Western we stayed at during this trip. We also stayed at Chinatown and the one in Palm Springs. This hotel was the best of the three. They were the only hotel that asked us how our stay went. Parking in underground and free. We did not get to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast as it isn't served on the weekends until 7am and we had to leave at 6:30am. We would stay here again.
Because my wonderful wife is very allergic to animal hair, fleas, and dandruff, we MUST take extra precautions when booking accommodation, being sure that the property staff are not just interested in selling a room night, but understand that there are serious consequences when stating "no animal has been in that room," and knowing that is a lie! This property understands and has great staff. It is clean, safe and offers a hot and cold breakfast with, a happy hour during the week days. Great five night stay!
Traveling with wife and 6 month old baby. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Here are some dot points that stood out: - freshly renovated rooms and bathrooms (all new furniture, freshly painted), very clean and mold free bathrooms. - received 2 complimentary bottles of water from front desk upon check in. - full breakfast included - cold and warm food with a great range from eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown to cereals, fruit, yoghurts and even waffle makers. Note that I have not included all of the food provided as this list would be too long to write. Just very impressed with the range and quality. - full dinner included - great range too. Also free beer on tap and wine too. - guest laundry (washing machine and dryer) was like new and came in handy. - free coffe machine in lobby - great range of teas and drink condiments available too. - felt like at home here! - could not find anything to fault or write a negative review about.
I booked this hotel online and thought the pictures looked good. It was even better in person! The hotel is beautiful and laid out really nice with small suites that have every convenience. We had a room at the end of the hall that was quiet and so nice, we hated to leave. The staff is super helpful and the check in and out was amazingly quick and efficient. The breakfast is especially nice and has lots of choices. I would stay there again when flying in and out of LAX.
We had a great stay at the Best Western Plus Manhattan Beach Hotel. Check in/out was a breeze. The accommodations are perfect for the price. We had a room opposite Sepulveda Blvd, so our room was very quiet. The breakfast was amazing and saved us a ton of money. The only tricky thing for us was the parking garage because we have a large vehicle, but the spaces were plentiful, and we made it in safely every time. We would definitely stay again.
This is the SPOT beloved Families. Rest, Refreshment, Recuperation and Replenishment await you all. Close to Target and comforting eateries and a clean environment and quiet. A private garage in the basement as well. You will enjoy the breakfast buffet and hospitality. The LORD God Jesus Christ Loves you beyond words.
This is such an excellent location, near LAX airport, lots of shopping and good restaurants. Friendly staff, safe environment. The breakfast is excellent as are the snacks in the evening. The indoor patio is very nice on the warm sunny days in Manhattan Beach.
For the most part, this place was wonderful. I loved that it had a little kitchenette area with microwave, fridge, sink, etc. There was also a really cute siting area by the door. The separate vanity area outside of the bathroom came in really handy as we were there just overnight for a concert and two of us had to shower and get ready in minimal time. My only complaint is that the TV didn't work. For this trip, that wasn't a big deal, which is why I didn't report it in the hopes of getting it fixed. It would simply have been white noise, which helps me sleep.
First off , the staff are absalutley amazing, always very welcoming, helpful and happy it is a pleasure to be around them. Esteban and Kristy were incredibly helpful and not only with us but i saw the same with all guests they really make this hotel shine. The breakfast has all you would want , the waffle making machine is great and all food was gpod quality. The social hour monday-thursday was also really great and saved us alot of time and money making this hotel stand out from others along with the free parking. Free fresh coffee and a latte machine available 24/7 i have to unfortunatlry note thr negatives. No sunlight from windows making it kind of dark. Air conditioning unit very old and noisy this did become annoying after a couple of days. The lift was broken the whole week we was there and being on the 3rd floor it was unpleasent and we have 2 heavy bags as did many other guests. The best was small and very uncomfertable, matress was lumpy and gave me and my partner a bad back. overall i love the hotel and the staff but it needs some tweaking
We stayed 2 days in BWPMB and it was amazing. Check in was so quick and professional, since we are reward members we got an amazing price for suite. Their elevator was not working but we did not mind since they did addressed that straight away and gave us room on second floor. Breakfast was great, many healthy options. Coffee station was the best of all BWP we stayed during our 15 days in USA. Beach is only 20 min walk away, there are some great restaurants nearby. Target is just 5min away. Would recommend to everyone. Manhattan beach is just wonderful and looking forward to stay here again in the future.
Stopped here en route to Australia for a night to freshen up and see friends for a day. We had a good experience and found the staff to be very friendly and efficient. Our room was large and clean, just no view, but not a problem as we were out most of the time. The breakfast was very good choices and my husband enjoyed making his own waffle! It wasn't far from the airport and really easy to get to and from in a taxi, plus we found the walk to Manhattan village to pick up some purchases and a quick bite to eat very convenient. We were also able to squeeze in a walk to the pier and take it the vitamin sea before heading back to the airport. We would stay here again and do this again for a one night stop off on a long haul journey.
The outside of the hotel gives you a bad impression. Once inside everything looked clean and nicer. We had a nice room in the 3rd floor. The room smelled bad (probably someone had cooked something). Breakfast is only until 9, which seems way too early. It was crowded by 8:30. The worst, elevator was not working.. we has 2 big and heavy bags that had to take all the way to the parking. Asked for help but since they took too long we decided to do it ourselves. Located near LAX, has Target, wallgreens walking distance. Good place for 1 night stay.
Wow you're not next to the beach at this price you're very close to everything you would ever want to be and with free parking you can go in and out to the beach all you want. The hotel has upgraded rooms with large flat screen TVs and the rooms have kitchens so you can accommodate all your needs. There is breakfast included with eggs and waffles and bacon and sausage and fruit and cereals and coffee and teas and toast and pastries it's quite extensive. Monday through Thursday there's a managers happy hour they can suffice for dinner with wines and salads and meats and spring rolls and cheeses and crackers and hummus. The staff is cheerful and accommodating and it really was a wonderfully pleasant, great little spot to come. No pool but there is a fitness room. A little business area. A great enclosed courtyard with some shade from the sun and wind, fire pits, and very many sunny spaces also. You can sit and chill, meet up with people, or enjoy your happy hour. Even enjoy the middle of the day... whatever you need. And next to the reception area there's a little mini shop with lots of snacks and Foods as well as it is close by a great many restaurants and services. My room was 219 which meant that it was on Sepulveda which is the coast road. It is noisy, not unbearable, but it is noisy. It had a king size bedroom with ensuite bathroom with a alk-in shower that is handicap accessible with grab rails. A separate living area with a kitchen, with CV ounter/desk/ bar space and sleeper couch that was the most comfortable one I've ever been on in my life.
I stayed here for only one night with my family after needing to change hotels last minute. Our short stay was fantastic and really exceeded our expectations! Front desk staff was friendly, rooms were clean and quite spacious, and the complimentary breakfast and coffee were phenomenal! As a coffee-lover, I was pleasantly surprised that they not only had coffee available throughout the day (not just in the morning), but offered a full coffee bar with various flavored creams, syrups, etc. Offerings at breakfast were much more abundant than other hotels and very delicious. I can't recommend this place enough!
This hotel was located close to the airport & at airport hotel rates. Very nice area to stay in & close to sights. I stayed in a renovated room & it was very nice. The only downside is that my hotel was on the first floor, so I could hear noise travel down to my room during social hour. However, the hotel is so nice that I'm going back in a few weeks with my husband.
My family and I were visiting the area for a week. This was the third hotel we stayed at (1 was when we went to Disneyland) during our trip and wish we stayed here for the first part of our trip. We were greeted by a very friendly lady at the check in desk. She gave our girls some fresh cookies and bottled water. The rooms form a horseshoe around a nice and quaint seating area. There are tables and chairs as well as nice and comfortable oversized chairs. The room was awesome. A small sleeper sofa, a kitchenette and a desk are on one side and the 2 queen beds and bathroom are on the other side along with a mirrored closet. The room was big enough that my family of 4 had plenty of room to navigate without being on top of each other. We will definitely stay here again. Hopefully next time longer.
Jason at front desk was very nice and professional. We booked last minute after a long car ride from AZ, Jason even helped us find a great little Mexican food restaurant that was still open late upon arrival. Great customer service, good breakfast, clean rooms and friendly staff. Great place to stay!!
Lovely hotel for our last night in California. Hotel is modern and clean, with a lovely coutyard with relaxed, beach vibe, seating area. Room catered well for our family of 5 and breakfast was of good quality and plenty of choice. Staff were professional and knowledgeable of the area. We particularly liked the location and the walk to the beach on the evening and morning before our long flight home. We would stay here again if coming back to LA.
Minutes away from Manhattan Beach pier. Breakfast was great. Cleanliness of rooms were great, including all up-to-day amenities. Staff was friendly and easy to work with. Garage parking was decently sized. We were attending an event and the hotel allowed us to leave our car parked all day in the garage, even after check-out. I really have nothing negative to report about this hotel. Highly recommended.
The service was probably the best I've experienced anywhere. Very friendly, accommodating staff. The room was nice and spacious enough for our group of 4. We return ed every day to a clean, comfy room. I slept very well--something I have trouble doing when in hotels. My only complaints are that we had zero cell service in our room. I had to go to the lobby whenever I wanted to use my phone for even texts or calls. Also, we only had windows facing the courtyard. This made our room dark and cave like all day long. We noticed that some rooms had windows on front and back of room if we stay again, we will request a room with both.
We arrived to be greeted by Brent. The BEST check in we ever experienced. Brent is genuine, polite, courteous and he is extremely KNOWLEDGEABLE of the hotel and surrounding area. This location is a very nice part of California and felt safe. This BW was recently renovated and is well maintained. We stayed in a King suite. The living and kitchen area felt spacious. Some parts of room had older features but it is clearly immaculate and a very pleasant room. Fresh paint, porcelain tile, new rugs clearly make this room bright. Beautiful white shutters instead of curtains was a great feature. Air conditioning worked great and goes on and cools immediately!! The kitchen was a full service kitchen including an oven and dishwasher! The bed and pillows very comfortable. The kitchen counter serves as a very spacious desk area with plenty of plug ins. WiFi worked great. Bathroom had door separating sink area from toilet/tub area. They offer FREE parking located under hotel with elevator. Breakfast was included and had everything; eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruit, waffles, juices and so much more. Coffee in lobby available 24/7. I saw fruit and newspapers in the lobby. Very nice outdoor sitting area. Directly across the street was a food market and bagel store. Plenty of shopping in the area and Manhattan Beach down the street. They have a nice room service menu too. Would stay here again in a heart beat! Tip: ask for a room not facing Sepulveda Blvd because there is traffic noise certain times of the day.
I first stayed at this hotel in March 2018 and then again in July 2018 and had a wonderful experience each time. It's near shopping, restaurants and the beach, and most importantly, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf! It's also near the 405 which is so convenient! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the complimentary breakfast is incredible, and the seating area w/ the outdoor furniture is adorable! Love the fire pit! Will keep coming back to this hotel! Love James!
This hotel is very clean. It is close to the beach and evening activities are very safe. I highly recommend it as a great hotel with great price. The breakfast is wonderfully healthy. It is a peaceful place that i would return to again and again.
Went to California for 1 week and stayed at this hotel for 5 days. Was pleasantly surprised by the very clean upkeep and spacious room with a living room area and kitchen included. The hotel is 30 mins drive from LAX airport, and even nearer to Manhattan Beach. Breakfast selection was also excellent with combination of hot food, pastry, yogurts, fruits and cold drinks. Will definitely stay at this place again when I come to holiday at California again.
What a gem this hotel is! The staff here are very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are very clean, a little on the small side for our family. But, we weren't there too often. The breakfast is really good with hot items, waffles (many varieties!) plus cereals, breads, fruits, etc. The evening reception during the week is awesome! Wine and beer with snacks and a light meal. Perfect if you had a big lunch and just wanted to stay in and chill for the evening. There is also a coffee bar for 24/7 fresh coffee, laundry facilities and an absolutely charming courtyard to sit and relax in. This hotel is close to LAX, the freeways and beach communities. We loved it hear and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Manhattan Beach!
BNice hotel. The rooms are large and have full kitchens. The shampoo and soaps smell nice. They have a nice breakfast and social time with food and adult beverages. The courtyard is cozy and coffee is served all day.
We booked here for a weekend because we had plans to go to the Forum for a concert, but wanted to stay near the beach to make a beach weekend out of it. The location is about 8 miles from the Forum, so an easy Lyft ride to the concert. It is also about a mile from the beach, but unfortunately, since it is on Sepulveda blvd, not really a safe bike ride to the beach with little ones, so we drove and parked close to the beach, then rode our bikes along the Strand. We got the 1 bedroom suite with a kitchen, which was super nice to have the extra space and a full kitchen to cook if we wanted to. Also, their breakfast was great. Even though they called it "continental", they had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and waffles along with the other typical "continental" items. They had a latte machine in the lobby as well as a coffee maker in the room and a really nice courtyard area that was great to enjoy breakfast or their happy hour during the week. We also had Direct TV in the room which was nice. There was no pool, but I did visit the fitness center which I had all to myself while I was there. I also liked that the rooms were accessible internally though the lobby and elevator as opposed to a drive up motel situation like other Best Western properties, so it felt very safe. In addition, the parking was free and the covered parking even had a clearance large enough for our F350 Super Duty truck, which was nice. All the BW team members were super pleasant and helpful and we were greeted with cold waters and warm cookies. Super nice touch! There is also a Target and a Walgreens right across the street and a Vons less than a mile away, so the location is great if you forget anything at home. Our only negative was the A/C unit in the room was a little loud and was hard to find a setting where the A/C would not go on unless it got warm, but not trigger the heater, so we opted to have it a little colder than we would like in the room and ended up using our ear plugs to get a good night sleep. Not a big enough deal to complain about, but if we were staying longer, we may have asked if there was another option with the A/C unitl. We definitely want to visit again. Thanks for a great stay!
I often stay at Marriotts or Hilton properties as BW are few and far between where I usually travel. This was a pleasant surprise, as a matter of fact it was one of my favorite hotels to date. Small property 5 minute drive to the beach and with plenty of restaurants around. Close to airport as well, but far enough away too. Room: Nice room all looking over a beautiful indoor courtyard. Stayed on 2nd floor and didn't have any outside noise distractions. No outside windows other than looking over the courtyard so natural light was hard to come by. Big room with a couch, kitchen area, two beds and nice bathroom. Parking: Underground, plenty of spots. Not secure, but didn't have an issue with it. Breakfast/light fare: Breakfast was rather decent for a hotel. A lot of options. It quickly got crowded in the AM and the elbow room was tough, but not a big deal. Was surprised that at 5:30 PM they serve complimentary beer, wine and light fare. A nice touch. The Coffee Machine, tea, hot Chocolate was the best and 24/7. Easy to use and really good. Hotel is only 3 floors and the only complaint was that the elevator was painfully slow at times. Otherwise I give this property and the staff and A+.
This Best Western Plus was so clean and beautifully kept. The front desk staff was so kind and the complimentary food during happy hour and breakfast was delicious! The location was just minutes from the airport and they even sanitize the remotes! Outstanding experience!!
With 3 people we had a room with a sofabed. The service personell was very kind and forthcoming. The size of the room was also adequate for us. The breakfast was ok. We were also offered a complimentary dinner buffet, which was convenient after we arrived in LA from overseas. However, the room had a window to the courtyard only, which made it very dark and not very inviting. Also, the room deserves a reno. However, the worst thing was an AC unit running in the neighboring room (we had our AC deactivated) which caused a terrible noise and such vibrations that we could hardly sleep. We were offered a different room but did not want to move in the middle of the night. I would not stay another time in this hotel.
We were looking for a hotel not far from the beach and chose Best Western (one of our favorite chains). While the beach was a bit far for us to walk, it's still close. The problem with the nearby beach is that parking is near to impossible. And some of the parking meters take cards and others take quarters (25 cents for 12 minutes). The hotel, however is great. Parking is a one level garage underneath the hotel. They also share a few spots with an animal clinic next door. There's a breakfast buffet every morning (bacon, sausage links, scrambled eggs, omelets, potatoes or hash browns, cereal, juices, fruit, waffles, etc. They also have a reception Monday - Thursday (wings, pizza, lasagna, salad stuff, etc). Our room had a full fridge and kitchen, two large TV sets and a very comfortable king size bed. We'd definitely stay there again!
This hotel is so beautiful! Small quaint lttle Hacienda meets Maine style Seaside Inn! The courtyard/atrium is decorated beautifully with bright flowers palm trees and beutiful outside furniture and fire pit. Rooms surround courtyard and are very nice. They serve a buffet style breakfast with many many hot and cold choices. Six differnt waffle flavors, eggs potatoes and breakfast meat and more every morning. Evening social as well! Loved our stay here! It was our second time. Close to beach and restaurants!
Stayed here after flying into LAX Anybody that has anything negative to say about their stay here must of had seriously bad luck or was simply expecting too much and didn't understand what they had booked. About a 15 min drive from Lax car rental center. We walked from the hotel to the main area of manhattan beach about 20mins. Room was superb and breakfast was excellent. Great choice. Haven't found a nicer hotel within 15mins of lax
No hot water in bathroom and kitchen sinks. Noisy freezer fan made quite a racket. Somebody turned the power off on the AC unit in the king suite. No wonder! It was crazy loud. No pots or pans. No kitchen towels or cutting boards. No dishwasher soap. We were assured the room was quiet and it was directly above the bus zone and the bus first stopped at 5:30 am and it was VERY noisy. It was next to the elevator and ice machine. Hmmmm. We had to waste 2 hours moving to another room with no natural light (argh) and when I went to make a meal the oven did NOT work at all. Bryan at the front desk ended up cooking our fish in the hotel kitchen for us. PRO: 222 had great natural light; con: bus stop below. We got a free night due to problems listed above; that is good customer service.
this was our first visit to California and choose Manhattan beach BW based on location. we were not disappointed! welcomed with cold water and cookies.social hour with tasty food and wine the first night, nice layout to the suite, very clean, good breakfast, best coffee/ drink station helpful friendly staff. we decided to stay an extra day.
People were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the staff polite. Walking to the mall was a plus and being near other family members was helpful, too. Free parking and a delicious breakfast were truly appreciated,
Staff: Everyone we dealt with was extremely friendly and helpful Location: I don't think you can get much better. You can walk to a mall and grocery store in 15 minutes. Five minute drive to downtown and the beach. Fifteen minute drive to the airport. Hotel: There was always space in the underground parking. The hotel has 3 floors with an open air courtyard on the first floor. Our room had a separate bedroom and a kitchen with TVs in both the living room and bedroom. It really felt like home away from home. If you plan to do any cooking, pick up a chopping knife from the grocery store. We used the laundry room which is open 24 hours. The cost is only $1.50 for each machine and the washer did a great job washing our clothes. The breakfast was ok. There is a lot to choose from - eggs, bacon , sausage, waffles etc. We would definitely come back.
Alright get the first thing out of the way. The hotel itself is OK, however it has a nice court yard, kept clean and a great location. The breakfast and social hours were better than most hotels with a better quality and more choice than usually offered. The staff though were amazing. They saw the other person I was travelling with had a sunburn and gave him a large bottle of aloe, quickly found a solution to a small issue with our room, provided local advice for restaurants and attractions. Very friendly and make this a five star place to stay.
- Room was very spacious - Room was well presented and clean. Absolutely gorgeous. - Staff are welcoming and accomodating - Room had a kitchenette - Room has desk, lounge, coffee table. - Decent size bathroom with shower/bath. Water pressure and temperature is amazing! - They have a coin operated laundry - Free American continental breakfast in the mornings - Free office use, great for printing and sorting your travel documents or for work purposes - Wifi included with room - Hotel has elevator - Excellent heating and cooling system in the room - Feels safe and secure - Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.
Outstanding service and amenities. Greeted with warm cookies and a welcome bag with snacks for our stay. Clean property not far from local beaches; nice breakfast with healthy heart options. Will definitely stay here again.
With Best Westerns you don't get the uniform experience you get with other brands, because they are individually owned and each is a unique property. From our experience, this one does not really qualify for the Plus designation, and, for what you get, the price is pretty steep. Most, if not all, the rooms are off a small, noisy, dark central courtyard. There is no natural light coming into most of the rooms, on top of which our room felt small because it was carved up in 3 distinct spaces - sleeping area, sitting area, kitchenette. The hotel was conveniently located for our needs, with a short driving distance to the cute little downtown/beach area of Manhattan Beach, where there are lots of restaurants to choose from. But apart from that, it's a pretty mediocre hotel, and, at over $180, considerably over-priced.
From my phone booking with James through to our check-out, there's nothing but good things I can say about our experience. The place was spotless, the rooms immaculate, the beds fantastic, the breakfast was great and parking was very easy. The hotel lacks a pool, but with the beaches a short drive away it wasn't a problem. Although the elevator was out of action for our stay, we were offered assistance in getting our bags up and down the stairs if we needed it and on the first night, there was a happy hour with dips, cheeses and wine and beer thrown in. Not sure if this was a one-off, but was a great welcome to a lovely hotel.
The rooms were very nice, clean, & spacious. The area that it is in, is kind of questionable. But the room made up for it. They also have complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby & breakfast is also available.
Nice place to stay, clean, good service. Breakfast is available as elk as social hours' serving. Would recommend this place for those who is planning to visit Manhattan Beach for either business or traveling for your pleasure.
I highly recommend this place. It is near many amenities as well as Target 1 block away and a less than 15 minute walk down hill to the ocean. With in 10 minutes you will be in the area of Manhattan shops. The rooms were perfect with a small open concept kitchen, large tv in living area and bedroom. Excellent service and although our room was cleaned everyday we were never bothered by cleaning staff as they were great at finding the right time to clean. Great little outdoor area with nice outdoor lounge furniture. You can't go wrong here. Full breakfast, great staff.
I had the best time at this hotel. From the moment I checked in, I felt welcomed. Little things like bottles of water when you check in and check out are definitely a nice touch! The breakfast buffet was incredible! And they even provided mid-afternoon snacks! Very close to Manhattan Beach shopping (not to mention Uncle Bill's Pancake House and stunning Vista del Mar!) Can't wait to stay again!
We stayed here 4 nights as our “hub” for our LA visit. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Easy access to highways for getting all over LA. Also easy walk to Manhattan Beach pier and Strand. Nice breakfasts and evening snacks were added bonuses.
We booked The Best Western Manhattan Beach through Expedia , we were looking for a hotel near the coast and with free parking if possible. I read the reviews on trip adviser and checked out prices. We were impressed with the great value on offer. The room ( on the ground floor) was very spacious and had a kitchen area with fridge & microwave. The bathroom was large and the shower hot & powerful. The service on the front desk was wonderful ( especially Karla) the service in the whole hotel was very good and I wouldn't hesitate in booking again if in LA. Bravo best western Manhattan beach.
Nice, clean quiet room. Good parking and breakfast! Free coffee and tea 24 h in the lobby. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Good location in relation to LAX. Quaint courtyard perfect for relaxing outside.
Nice, clean rooms with friendly staff. Delicious continental breakfast bar! We enjoyed our stay very much. I wish we would have had time to take advantage of the courtyard, but we were on the go the entire time.
Location, BW Plus amenities, new furnishings, including outdoor seating in safe, interior quad area. Ample breakfast with attentive staff and very clean, modern environment. Makes BW Rewards membership something of which to be proud.
My husband and I needed a last minute reservation near LAX. We chose this hotel for airport proximity while not being so close we would hear the planes. We were pleasantly surprised by its great, convenient Manhattan Beach location! Walkable to restaurants and the beach (a bit of a hike to the beach). Check in staff member accommodated our request for a room not in the front of hotel (which is directly on Sepulveda /Hwy 1). Room was large, with a full kitchen and separate bedroom and was very quiet. Dinner reception included beer, wine, and food that one can make a meal of. Loved having a glass of wine by the fire pit in the courtyard. Good value for the price.
I normally stay at 4 star LAX options. So this was a little different. Rooms were reasonable size. A little dated but tv was modern. Bed was not top quality but OK. Room was quite dark. Parking was ample close to elevator and best of all - free. Breakfast was not amazing but fine. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful. Really couldn't fault it except it's not a big hotel but more of a motel. All in all not bad for the price.
Check in was superb! James did an awesome job! Very professional! Only 3 floors (parking is a bit tight in the underground parking) great location just 1 block from target and 2 blocks from retail stores. Breakfast and social meal are better than Hamptons and Homewood. Only two negatives... 1) only 1 elevator and is very slow better use the stairs... 2) the room windows give you no privacy while open (windows are set next to the door viewing at the walkways).. at this location Traffic is hectic and pulling out of the parking lot can be a pain. Only 15 minutes from LAX. For a 3 star hotel with free breakfast, free social snacks, free parking, free WiFi, free awesome coffee machine and te 24hrs, clean rooms and great staff = MONEY Well Spend! ??
Had convenient parking. Room was clean. Not the best place if you had a dog, the Residence Inn across the street is where we usually stay when we I have the dog, but it was booked... nothing particularly wrong other then no great place to take the dog for a doody break.
We stayed here for a long weekend in February. We had family and gatherings to attend nearby. They have a nice lobby and outdoor seating area. The free breakfast is amply. The social hours during the week are great. There is comp food along with wine and beer. You could make a meal of it if you wanted to. The rooms are nicely appointed and clean. Great location but some rooms face a very busy street. Coffee station in the lobby was top notch.
The hotel is located just a few miles south of the airport along Sepulveda Blvd. with easy access to all kinds of places and sights that might be of interest to tourists. Check-in was easy, and we very much appreciated being let into our room at 10am already (thank you, Perla!). The room itself is probably the usual BW Plus fare. I am not a fan of rooms with windows facing the corridor - you always have to choose between privacy and natural light. I will say, though, that the room was nicely renovated and had everything we needed. No complaints! A big plus for us were free parking and the laundry facilities - very helpful! One final comment on the breakfast: WOW! In an international comparison, U.S. hotels are usually some of the lousiest when it comes to breakfast. But this hotel really offers a great selection of hot and cold breakfast items to satisfy all types of preferences (everything from organic hummus and egg white omelets to pastries, sausages, and several different types of waffles). And the coffee machine (available 24/7) that serves real and fresh espresso, cappuccino (etc.) is a huge plus as well. So if you don't want to spend $300+ a night for a fancy luxury hotel but want to stay in a nice hotel close to a lot of places and attractions, then this hotel is for you. Hope to be back!
You can't charge mor for an”ADA” room when it isn't fully equipped. Bed was so high I almost fell a few times...I'm a paraplegic. Shower was billed as a fold down bench...see pic below as to what it was. No shower want, so I either froze, or burned myself getting in the shower. Also, no back, which for us paralyzed people who have no back or stomach muscles is not close to “fun”. This room was more than $20 a night more because of ??accessibility...which is partly true. Not sure ADA allowes for a room to be charged extra. Other than that, great staff and clean rooms.
We read many reviews and thought they were too good to be true, so we wanted to give it a try. Underground, secure, free parking was a big plus. 100% non smoking hotel (great) We arrived early and were met at the desk by Perla and Ben both super nice friendly caring people. Early check in was no problem even offered a choice of 2 suites. Loyalty program acknowledged right away, given 2 waters and a goody bag. Coffee in the lobby all day long, no charge, machine to custom make your own beverage, plus many, many other flavors to add etc. Suites have been remodeled and are fantastic, full kitchen, full size fridge. If you are staying for a few days and want to make a beach lunch to take with you and/or eat in Target is just across the street for all your needs. We walked to the beach it is about 30 mins, and if you wish you walk on the front from Manhattan Beach to Hermosa Beach then that is another 30 mins great if you like ta walk, (we do) They have a complimentary social hour, Monday to Thursday 5:30PM - 7:30PM we were there last Wednesday and the had, wait for it, lasagna, stuffed peppers, chicken wings, garlic bread, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, beer and a choice of 4 wines all free. AMAZING! Nice courtyard, no pool, but you are at the beach who cares. Slept well, busy road out front, but minimal noise. Good breakfast in the morning, again free, lots of choices. When we checked out Ben offered us a couple of bottles of water for the road. Talk about customer service, other hotels could learn a lot from this Best Western. We have stayed at many hotels, some very expensive that do not even come close to this. It is hard to imagine anyone writing a negative review. Thank you and keep up the great work, we really appreciated all that you did.
The room was nice and clean. Nicely decorated. Staff was kind and helpful. Location was close to everything and seemed safe. Parking garage was clean and safe. I will definitely stay here when in town.
My family and I were looking for a hotel to stay in for a last minute trip to Los Angeles. This wasn't my first time booking with a Best Western Hotel, but this one stood out. The staff was awesome, the location was very clean and well kept. The beds were really comfortable, and parking was easy. A hot continental breakfast is a must for me. I noticed that the extra blanket I requested during my booking were in the room. Really good experience. Only downer was the elevator being out of service, but the stairs weren't bad. They even offered help with luggage if necessary. I would stay in this hotel again.
Good check in, Good service, very good breakfast, very good room with good amenities (suite like amenities). Very good location near the strand in Manhattan Beach (in which we walked from MB to Hermosa and to Redondo - and back - great walk). However the bed was a somewhat soft which was not too our liking. All tolled our very short one day in MB was enjoyable.
Very nice stay at this hotel. It is very accessible and near everything we need. It is in a safe neighborhood. We recommend this hotel... although it is medium priced I still recommend this hotel...it is clean and the staff are very helpful....
The breakfast had the typical offerings, but instead of just plain waffles, you had the choice of 6 different kinds and there was a yogurt bar. Tons of options for tea and hot chocolate 24/7. Evening happy hour had lots of food options well beyond what is typical for a hotel.
This is our 4th time here, it's a great place to stay if you need to be near Manhattan Beach. Happy hour meals and drinks, parking and within walking distance of the beach plus rooms with kitchenette and study area.
The hotel is clean and staff is friendly. The hotel is not far from LAX and we stay here when we arrive into LAX late at night and don't want to drive to our final destination so late. The hotels we've stayed at closer to LAX have been more expensive, disgusting and overall unpleasant. We'd definitely stay here again.
Clean rooms with a friendly staff. Close to LAX and great location to the Beach. Frontage road is very busy and noisy, but most rooms are in the rear and no traffic noise is detectable. Nice hot breakfast for a good start to the day.
They were courteous. I had to check in late and they were very accommodating. Gave me and my roommate free waters. Breakfast was plentiful, with lots of selections, and the coffee choices were many. Our check-out was quick and parking was easy.
Pros : The staff is helpful and very kind. All the amenities and services (the free underground parking, the free wifi, the complementary breakfast buffet, ...). Cons : The windows that allow you to hear traffic 24/7 from Sepulveda Blvd (which is a pretty busy boulevard). So if you don't mind the traffic noise, this place is great, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it, despite the great staff and all the amenities, unless they change the windows...
Exceptionally clean, newly remodeled. Spoptless, great location. Friendly staff and helpful. Wonderful amenities, breakfast, great coffee and parking! Beautiful visually and peacefull!!!!!! close to beach!
I have been coming to this hotel for 8 to 10 years. The reason is the staff and the hotel is not bad either. Robert (night shift) and Perla (day shift) have been making my stay pleasant for all these years and they are still there. Ben the manger is not bad either, although I don't see him that often. This hotel was Hawthorne Stes and now it's a Best Western. The upgrades to the rooms are very nice. The courtyard has a serious facelift and is nicely done. I love this hotel due to it's close to my customer's Raytheon and Boeing, close to the beach. Lots of food places in the area as well. Again what does it for me is the staff. 90% of my job is traveling here in the states and abroad and a good hotel can be over looked if the staff sucks and I see it a lot. Robert and Perla makes me feel like I have family away from home. I am not just blowing smoke up your noises, to me they are the best. I love the hotel. I will mentioned that once I was put in a handicap room when I had a reservation for a regular room. I think it was Ben doing. :) 1 hiccup in 8 years, I guess I can let that one go,
Great location in Manhattan Beach, good value as well. James, at the front desk was very helpful with local recommendations and information about the property. The courtyard had lots of cute, comfortable seating. Happy hour was a great bonus!
Spent 5 nights for business and appreciated the rooms equipment, cleanliness, service, the breakfast, the parking and the excellent location. Even close to the freeway, no disturbance because of the noise. Beach in 10 mins walk. Small social event in the early evening with food and drinks inclusive. 5 stars without a doubt for this price segment!
Slept like a baby until the plumbing from other rooms started flushing or showering then the walls were too thin. Otherwise it was very quiet and comfortable and cozy. Loved the kitchen and cute little dishwasher. I had to add more fire to a piece of albacore we bought so we could eat in so the electric stove top came in awfully handy. They had a little rod in the bath vanity so you could hang hand towel. The shower head was adjustable. The kitchen was missing hot pads, dish towel and dish cloth. The breakfast was better than average. Room clean and nice artwork. Underground parking and an elevator for getting suitcases to your room using the luggage racks. Very nice front desk and cleaning crew. We were in room 117 facing north and next to the maid's quarters. I might like to try the 3rd floor instead facing west for the light exposure.
We stayed recently in Best Western Manhattan Beach hotel for seven nights. We were happy with the services from check-in till check-out. Free breakfast with lots of options and free car parking are not usual around LA, which helped significantly reduce the travel costs. Rooms are brand new, super-clean, staff is friendly and the location is great. It is close to Manhattan Beach, LAX airport and many shopping opportunities within 2-miles if you need anything urgent. What else can be expected from an hotel? I will definitely stay in BW Manhattan Beach next time when I visit LA.
Very neat and friendly place, easy check in/out, very good breakfast comparing to other hotels that proving breakfast. Very quick internet. Like their happy hour too, lazy to step out of hotel, we had light dinner in the hotel, it is actually very impressive.
Good location, Close to highways and perfect parking included in the price made the driving easy. Even though the hotel was situated along Sepulveda Blvd with Heavy traffic, it did not feel like that since it was built with a open outdoor space in the middle of the hotel with cosy sofas! Walking distance to Manhattan beach was great. Jogging on the beach in the morning was awsome and also the possibility to lend yogamat and traning equipment to bring. Nice breakfast with full assortment. The only complain I might have is the WiFi since it worked poore in the room (but fine in the lobby).
Great hotel, clean, nice rooms. Really helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast (and choices) not far from Manhattan Beach. Great social mid week between 5.30-7.30pm with complimentary beer, wine and buffet type food. Free wifi in room. You won't find a better value hotel anywhere.
Stayed 4 nights and would definitely recommend the Best Western Plus. Separate bedroom, living room (each with a TV) and a full kitchen, which was a nice surprise. Delicious complimentary breakfast, convenient underground parking (once you figure out how to get in and out, it is easy), friendly and helpful staff, great housekeeping. It is on a busy road, but that disappears once inside. The hotel lobby and rooms seem newly renovated and fresh. I will be back next time I visit Manhattan Beach!
Great location and close to lots of great places! First room we were assigned faced the street and smelled like wet diapers. We were able to get a room facing the interior courtyard; which is nice and peaceful. I like that we can park under the building and keep the ocean mist off my vehicle. Great for motorcycle parking, and a great value to boot!
Hotel was fine but the air conditioning is old and very noisy. Recommend not to visit when the weather is very hot! Otherwise good value for the money. (Though no real outside facilities apart from communal seating area.)
no negatives at all, with possible exception that it would be nice to have spa/pool. Difficult in smaller sized hotels. Courtyard with fire pit and young chairs a nice addition.Take care entering the underground parking lot.
We didn't know what to expect with this hotel but were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was in great condition, the rooms were quiet and comfortable, had a fridge and sink, good hot breakfast buffet(complimentary) and evening social hour, employees were very helpful and friendly, free underground parking garage, nice quiet area, we stayed there for 3 nights before a cruise and would not hesitate to stay there again.
After visiting the massive but fantastic Pomona swap meeting..we book manhattan beach best western..what a fabulous bright fresh immaculate modern(except the corridors) motel .but the entrance is up there with the boutiques lovely bed great shower ..tip just great..
The hotel is not far away from LA Airport, excellent location, excellent breakfast and excellent helpful stuff. Sometimes the hotel offer complimentary dinner and even though the dinner is simple but it's delicious. Very worth price and highly recommend.
Excellent hotel. Welcoming staff. The inclusion of breakfast and an evening social hour that included drinks was an added bonus. Close to everything. Free undercover parking. Excellent staff. Great ambiance. Nighttime fires and social courtyard makes this a standout hotel
Not a bad choice close to LAX for a quick stop. Average in appearance, but solid option. Never going to blow you away but shouldn't leave you disappointed either. Clean, tidy, and convenient. Spacious rooms.
We chose this hotel as it is only about 5 miles from the car rental drop-off & a straightforward drive. Room & facilities were excellent; the room & fittings appeared very new. Breakfast was OK but I feel that there should have been at least some Cornflakes & less children-orientated cereals. Saying that on certain days of the week there is a free hot & cold buffet with wine. If you are a light sleeper I would not recommend a room in the 1st floor as there is an outside seating area (surrounded on four sides by rooms) which is a good place to relax but we could hear folks talking from our 2nd floor room after 11pm. Overall we were pleased & I would probably stay there again if in the area.
This hotel is clean and well appointed with comfortable seating areas outside for nice California days. The breakfast was above average for a free meal, and the snacks at dinner time were generous. In spite of the fact that this hotel is located on one of the busiest streets in the Los Angeles area, and also only a few miles from LAX, the rooms are very quiet. My only comment is that, although this is a totally non-smoking hotel, I caught guests smoking in the parking structure and on the sidewalk outside the door leading to the parking area - both are prohibited in Manhattan Beach. But smokers don't seem to think the rules (clearly posted around the hotel) apply to them.
Rooms were typical but reasonably priced. Location is great, easy drive or even walk to the beach. Parking is underground and free and the hotel also has free breakfast. They have an awesome coffee machine which will make anything you want anytime.
Second time staying at the Best Wester+ in Manhattan Beach and another excellent experience. The hotel is in a great location with convenient on-site parking and a well kept property. Staff have always been great and the rooms are always in clean shape and ready for guests arrival. 10/10 would recommend!
This was a lovely stay at a convenient location in Manhattan Beach. Downtown MB was a pleasant 20 minute walk through a nice neighborhood. The hotel itself is nicely decorated. Highlights include large rooms, great breakfast (with multiple waffle batter options), and an AMAZING COFFEE MACHINE. It's a great, comfortable stay that will leave you jittery from all of the coffee.
This was my first time to the area to stay and it was a very nice hotel. The complimentary wi fi worked very well in the room(204) and on the property. The parking is underground and is complimentary and I always found a space.(give make and model of vehicle at check in) The parking garage is a little tricky the first time. If on the same side of the street as hotel, you turn right immediately at the signal light (18th Street) as soon as you see the hotel. A complimentary breakfast buffet is served in the lobby area with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Hours are M-F 6am to 9am and weekends 7am to 10am. There is also a complimentary social hour M-Th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm which was fantastic. There is a business center/room which has printing capabilities and there is a fitness center on the property. There is a coin operated laundry on the first floor. Right at the entrance of the room is a double sofa bed that pulls out and a coffee table. There is a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave. No dishes. A coffee maker was in the kitchen area.Across from that area is a nice desk and chair. Chocolate chip cookies and bottled water was given at check in. The A/C is a window type with a wall controlled switch. Nice tile at the entrance of the room and in the bath area. Carpet was in the bedroom area. 1 TV with Direct TV service. TV is on a unit with 2 drawers. 2 night stands with lights. Mirrored closet door. 1 suitcase rack and and iron/board in the closet. Toilet and shower are in a room with an exhaust fan. Nice shower surround decor. The room over looks the parking area for bay City Animal hospital the business next door, but was nice to open and get the breeze. Here is a sample of the social party: Cheese & crackers, carrots & celery, 2 types of beers which were a craft beer-Smog City(loved this one) and Coors Light beer, a red and a white house wine. Egg rolls, chicken oriental, broccoli, & potstickers. You serve everything yourself. The next evening was: Taquitos & pico, lasgana, garlic bread, wings, salad with toppings and ranch or italian dressings, cheese & crackers, celery & carrots. Breakfast: Make your own waffles, 4 types of cereal, 4 kinds of milk,espresso/latte machine regular coffee too , lots of flavors of tea bags, flavored creamer and regular, scrambled eggs with cheese and salsa toppings, bacon & sausage links, yogurt with toppings, fresh fruit, pastries, bread to toast, bagels, pastries, granola bars, juices. Egg florentine discs the second morning . This hotel is close to the beach, but not walking distance in my opinion. I drove to the beach and parked. Some free parking and some metered depending on which beach you go to. Staff was friendly, but never needed them for much. If I was in the area again I would not hesitate to stay here . Nice decor, clean rooms, & nice hotel.
I stayed here in September 2016 while they were still renovating. Looks real nice now, especially the courtyard. It was a nice enough hotel, staff was very friendly, loved the free parking. Room was nice, very clean (which is important to me). The only negative that it didn't get much (hardly any, to be honest), natural light. 1 window at the front, and it was a fairly long room. Being in beautiful SoCal would have liked more natural light. Would definitely stay again if I could be assured of a room with more light.
This is the best hotel - wonderful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and great location. It is very close to the beaches and an abundance of restaurants. We walked to a fabulous Thai restaurant on the first night. The breakfast is abundant, and the fitness room even has yoga mats. We would definitely stay here again - highly recommend it.
Beautiful, updated, very clean, very modern, hotel. Staff amazingly helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. Full hot breakfast and social hour with light meal. All too good to be true....HIGHLY recommended.
Clean, fresh appearance and not run down at all like so many hotels tend to be, wonderful staff, excellent breakfast with healthy options, comfortable bed, nice layout of suite, wouldn't change a thing.
I was saying in a Best Western Hotel exclusively in a different city and I went from being a zero number to being a diamond member and I'm very close to being a Diamond Elite number in less than one year ulisa say I spent a lot of time there the last trip I took there I was not treated like a diamond member I wasn't even treated like a somebody I became good friends with most of the front desk I would say don't ever do that because the uppers don't like it because they don't trust their front desk staff and they think they're going to give you something special which they none of them ever did so I tried another Best Western Plus actually closer to me and it turns out I'd like it a lot more Manhattan Beach + Best Western the best hotel rate see James he's wonderful at the front desk he is very knowledgeable of the area and the restaurants that you would like to go to I will be spending the rest of my months and time there that I do go I try to go once a month for two to five days so they will now be getting all my money
Nice hotel with reasonable rate. I would stay here again. Not too far from the beach or the airport. Walked to downtown Manhattan beach and ran several mornings along the beach. Great breakfast and evening social.
My wife and I stayed here for a weekend trip. We attended an event in Rancho Palos Verdes and then a dinner reception at the Manhattan Beach Country Club. This hotel was a very easy drive to both. My wife made the comment that it was the most comfortable hotel bed that she has ever slept on; we had a King size bed. They served a hot breakfast in the morning; and my wife and I enjoyed having our morning coffee sitting in the courtyard. I will say that the bacon at breakfast, even though it was crispy like I enjoy, it had no flavor...weird. Sepulveda Blvd. is a part of Pacific Coast Highway, so it can be tricky pulling in and out of the driveway; but there is covered parking underneath the hotel. There is a shopping mall close by as well as the Redondo Beach Pier. The room was clean and we did not have any noise from our neighbors. We slept very well and would stay here again.
We stayed here for one night before flying home and soon wished we'd come for longer. Rooms were comfortable with a small lounge/kitchen area as well as bedroom. We faced the car park and could see the busy main road, but barely heard it. We were also next to the lift but didn't hear any noise outside the bedroom. The main shops and restaurants of Manhtattan Beach are an easy walk away, and the beach/pier itself is just under 30 minutes at a relaxed pace. We walked back from Hermosa Beach pier in around an hour too. Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach themselves are lovely - we could easily have spent a few days there relaxing. Despite being on the main road, the surrounding area is mostly residential and felt very safe to wander round. The cookies and water on check in, free breakfast and free parking were all appreciated too. All in all, a great end to our holiday - I'd recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed L.A. beach holiday or nice accommodation close to the airport without being an airport hotel (it's a 10/15 minute drive to the car rental area).
Needed a place to crash one night with family, paid around $153 for a labor day weekend sat night well in advance for this place. Tried to checkin at 5pm, room wasnt ready for an additional 20 min, thats bizarre. But it was nice chillin in the patio/courtyard with comfy seats and couches/beds. Given 3 bottled waters and 2 cookies upon check-in, thanks. The room is a bit awkward where everything is but its clean and efficient. Fridge, sink, micro included. A loud outdated A/C that makes a lotta noise and terrible mattresses on the bed and the pull out my only complaints. Or else room was relatively quiet mind the dumbarses roaming around drunk past midnight (only twice not bad) The breakfast by no means delicious but it is significantly better than other best westerns in terms of variety. Sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, salsa, shredded cheese. Waffle maker, various fruits cereals yogurts and muffins/breads etc. Basically as good as a "free" breakfast can be. Space is tight, so much that some dumb woman hit my sons hot coffee cup and it spilled on his arm and leg. People are, in general stupid. You put people cramped in small spaces they have even less of a clue as to surroundings. Be aware. Wifi was so-so, the parking underground. It is exactly 1.5 miles from the pier, took me 18 minutes in the morning with a brisk walk. Normal/casual walk 25-30 minutes. Self serve coffee machine that has starbucks stickers but is stocked with coffee bean bags underneath. Thumbs up overall ok place to stay if you want to spend 2 days at manhattan/hermosa, and 1 night. Toyota dealership across the street if you wanna come back in a new car.
I was impressed with the amenities, nice snacks at happy hour. Large selection at breakfast. All rooms were suites with a very nice decor. Free beer and wine for cocktail hour was a nice treat. That's it.
During our holidays in LA we spent 9 nights in this hotel. We were 5 and stayed in an apartment big enough for 5 PAX + luggage. Very convenient kitchen and office table for those who need to work comfortably (it is a real table!). Wifi signal inside the room not that strong though. Breakfast offer is the same everyday but it is diverse enough considering we stayed 9 nights. Service in the reception is always available (24H) and kind. The hotel is also agreeable with an inner open space where we can relax after a long walking day... and there is a fitness center. Walking distance from the hotel we can easily find restaurants, malls, ATMs,... quite well located.
Excellent hotel. Close to LAX and beach. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Meet and greet with fellow guests were held monday through to thursday with drinks and nibbles offered. Great way to meet people from all around the world.
Both times my family came to LA we stayed here (Hawthorne Suites). I am a bit of a hotel snob and I love this place!! Cleanliness is my #1 priority. Last November 2016 when we stayed here they were in the process of converting from Hawthorne Suites to Best Western. And even through the construction, it was awesome. The rooms are set up wonderfully, they are super clean, we like the free breakfast in the courtyard, and the rates are the best around for the quality of hotel. The staff is so friendly and helpful too. There is free parking (only slightly negative thing is garage area under hotel is a bit tight). It is close to restaurants and shopping. Not too far from airport but far enough to not be bothered by the planes taking off and landing. Close to the Manhattan beach pier (about 1 mile). We love LA and when we travel there we will always stay here!!
Though this hotel isn't steps from the beach, it was still close. More importantly the amenities were great. The hotel is renovated nicely and offers free parking and a great, free full breakfast! Even the most expensive in the area can't compete.
This hotel is staffed with friendly faces. I received a bottle of water and cookie upon check-in and was allowed a noon check-out. The breakfast buffet was exceptional and it's always nice to get free in-room WiFI and parking.
This hotel, even though on a busy street, was nice, clean, and surprisingly quiet. Conveniently close to the Beach area and jogging trails. Nice, large room. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.
The Best Western brand doesn't conjure up much more in my mind than basic lodging. But whoa. I don't know what's up with this particular location, but from beginning to end the place exceeded every expectation. I showed up in the middle of the night without a reservation and in a bit of a panic. My flight was severely delayed, I landed very late at LAX and found myself without a hotel room. And every hotel I called was full. So I just started driving down Sepúlveda stopping at every location in hopes of finding a room with no success. I drove by this BW and tried my luck. They had one room left! The guy at the front desk (Robert) could tell I was a few seconds away from a meltdown (it was after midnight LA time, which meant I was up for almost 24 hours by this point.) He was just so amazing. The guy could teach a class in both hospitality and keeping people calm in a crisis. (He also gave me some complimentary snacks which I appreciated because I was STARVING.) I stumbled into my room and was blown at how nice it was. I slept like a baby. I never do hotel breakfast because it's usually pretty awful. I wasn't expecting much and again... was pleasantly surprised. I intended to stay just for a night to get my bearings and ended up staying the entire week I was in Los Angeles. Location isn't ideal for much of anything, but based on my experience with this hotel and its fantastic employees, I would go out of my way to stay there again.
Great find in Manhattan Beach... location is down the road not too far... Great bagel shop across the street... Great staff and parking seemed safe off the street and underground.. would definitely recommend
I have been staying at this location for the past 7 years. It originally was a Hawthorne Inn. Some decorations have changed but the hotel remains the same in high quality of service and accommodations.
Hotel offers good amenities such as breakfast, happy hour, snack/dinner, convenient parking, small fitness center. Rooms are comfortable. 15-20 minute walk to beach. Helpful staff. A pool would be nice but we were only staying one night en route to overseas trip.
I stayed 2 nights at the hotel and have no complaints. I can't remember the staff member who was working the desk, but he was very helpful letting us know the best places to eat as well as parking near the downtown. We stayed because of the close location to LAX and stayed at another hotel on our last night but wish we would have came back here.
Same day trip to L.A. on a Friday and did not have time to book until 7:00pm. Got to the property and very nice in appearance. Gentlemen at the front desk arranged an upgrade based on my status + gave us a great referral to the Kettle Restaurant for late night dinner. Property is very quiet and central courtyard is great. This hotel will be considered for future travel to the area
We stayed here for 4 nights - me and my girlfriend and my friend and his wife. We each had pretty spacious king rooms. The rooms were clean, had large bathrooms and kitchenettes with a fridge and spacious living areas with a couch, a desk, iron and ironing board. The only thing missing was a safe. The hotel itself was also very clean and had a few amenities including a fitness room (didn't use), laundry (didn't use), a courtyard with lounge chairs (didn't use), free parking under the property (did use) and breakfast included (did partake). The front desk personnel were all pretty friendly and the morning breakfast lady was very helpful. The front desk person held our luggage on the day we arrived because our rooms were not ready the morning we landed and we wanted to go to Manhattan Beach and we were happy for that. Breakfast included 3 waffle irons with a few waffle flavor options, eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, cereal, yogurt, pastries, bread, bagels, fruits, coffee, tea and juices. It was very plentiful but 4 days of eating the same thing could get repetitive - still, good nonetheless. The location was pretty convenient as it was a short 10 minute or so drive to Manhattan Beach. A Target store is 2 blocks away. Our only complaint was that there was a strange sulfurous smell that emanated from our bathroom sink. Our friends' only complaint was that the carpet was a little moist when we arrived on day 1. Other than that, this place was pretty good and we would stay again.
Spent a couple of days at the beach and stayed 2 nights here. Room was large with a pull out couch. Parking was good but it is easy to miss the drive way (look for the animal hospital and turn in there). The room opened into a courtyard which was nice. Breakfast was better than average. Wifi wasn't great in the room but worked good in the courtyard. I would stay here again.
This Best Western was perhaps the best hotel I've ever stayed! The staff was professional and friendly, it was very clean, and the breakfast was great! Will be staying here again! I have already shared my great experience with my coworkers, and you all deserve to know too! If you need to stay in this area, choose this hotel!
This is a top notch hotel with great staff and extremely clean rooms. Breakfast was super fresh with both hot and continental selections as well as a great coffee machine that made wonderful espresso and cappuccino
Great location, nicely decorated. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great. Nice selection and many items to choose from. They had many different make your own waffle choices for batter and even had a choice to make gluten free waffles.
Close to the beach and very handy as far as access to local activities. It was nice to have breakfast each day, also the happy hour was really relaxing. The room had everything we needed and was well maintained. I would stay again.
Minutes from beach, happy hour, breakfast and free internet included. We will stay here again. Was a nice little find. Lots of restaurants near by. Could walk to the beach. Rooms were nice, had a nice courtyard to relax and read.
this place was a very nice hotel and a sure bang for your buck. I'd stay again. The staff was very polite and helpful and you are close to food and the beach. Parking maybe the only little problem specially if you have an SUV or truck. Over all great place
Very very nice Best Western in Manhattan Beach. Close to the airport and the beach. The rooms are top notch, very clean and modern. The staff were very helpful and made sure that we were happy during the stay.
Pros: Free breakfast, internet, and parking Rooms are updated, spacious, clean, and practical Awesome CBTL machine for free drinks Cons: Thin walls so you hear toilets flushing, people talking, showers running etc.... Vanity area in the bathroom is a little on the smaller size Awkward hotel and parking entrance Overall we were very satisfied with our stay at this BW. The free breakfast, wifi internet, CBTL machine, and spacious parking saved us tremendously compared to other hotels in the area. The sofa bed was comfortable and our daughter never complained sleeping on it for nearly a week. It looks like the hotel and rooms were recently tastefully updated and our room came with a mini kitchen- stove, frig, microwave, and oven. This BW is close enough to drive (5 minutes) to Manhattan Beach and the 405 (10 minutes) to get around town fairly quickly. I truly believe hands down that this is the best bang for the buck in the area. We would definitely stay there again.
The hotel was nice and clean, we checked in and was given water and pretzels, the room was nice, but the bed was so uncomfortable and I woke the next day with a severe backache. Update your beds and it would be perfect. The guy that checked us in was very pleasant and welcoming.
We loved this hotel! It was the closest hotel to the beach and was good price so that is why I booked this somewhat residential hotel. We were greeted by Kat, who was lovely, when we arrived. She let us check in a bit early and gave us some water and a snack. She shared all of the details that we needed for our stay. Our room was VERY clean. That is key for me. The bed was so comfortable, we took two naps. They do not have a pool but we did sit in the pretty atrium on Sunday morning for two hours and just hung out after the complimentary breakfast. It was a great experience.
The hotel was very clean with nice rooms in a nice area. It was near a mall and plenty of restaurants around it. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and definitely will go back again.
Best place we stayed on the whole West coast. Everything we would hope to expect. Would definitely stay at any Vest Western if they were all like this one. Clean and comfortable. No noisy. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay, but if you smoke be prepared to get hassled by locals. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was nice. The traffic getting in and out was a challenge, but the beach made up for it.
Close to the airport which was nice, we flew in before we were able to check in but the front desk was kind enough to hold our bags in their office and point us in the direction of the ocean. The staff was great, very friendly, and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. Only downside was the sign is very small and hard to see when you're getting close to the hotel. Other than that, everything was great.
Check in is fast and efficient Lobby has a bar and snack shop The shop offers fresh fruits- popcorn-chips-chocolates-coffee-soft drinks- all for purchase. Rooms are comfortable - each has a small refrigerator There is a microwave in the lobby for everyone's use. Nice pool. Good for 1 night stay
I stayed here for one night while I was in town for an exam in June 2017. It is a little difficult to find because the sign is very small and the outside is not very impressive. I stayed during the week and parked in the underground garage (FREE!) and had no trouble finding a space. The lobby was gorgeous! Check in was super easy and you get a free bottled water and 2 cookies! They have a lot of outdoor space with fireplaces and very comfortable furniture. They have a social hour most weeknights, which was a little sparse by the time I got there, but they had red and white wine, some cheese, veggies, and fruit. My room was absolutely beautiful and everything was clean and in good repair. The shower head has 3 settings and they have good water pressure. The bed was super comfortable and they have big fluffy pillows. The breakfast is amazing! They have so many options, including a waffle bar with at least 6 different flavors, many yogurts, fruit, cereal, milk, juices, eggs, hash browns, sausage, and bacon. They also have a 24-hour tea and coffee bar that has the most options I've ever seen. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this place to my friends/family.
I travel for work constantly. Two weeks out of the month I'm in a hotel. So when I travel I try to find something that is comfortable. This hotel is so much better than that. It's 6 blocks from the beach. There are places to eat all around here and within walking distance. There are 3 grocery stores within walking distance. One of them is across the street. Along with a bagel and sandwich shop in front. The hotel looks like it's just been remodeled and it's amazing! They have breakfast in the morning, happy hour in the afternoon and free parking. There is also free wifi. Best part is the rooms are suites so they are very spacious. Will be returning now that I know it's here. Hidden gem.
I loved this hotel when it was Hawthorn Suites and I love it now. Perfect location for me, and honest-to-goodness--it is astonishingly quiet for the location, right up against Sepulveda Blvd. I stay here every time I visit Los Angeles, unless I am staying with friends.
Family visit to beach Memorial Day weekend; hotel is about 15-20 minute walk to surf and sand. Nice area, friendly staff, the suite was clean and roomy. Beds super comfy. Prompt service. Nice trinkets given at check in for rewards members. Cool shops and boutiques surrounding location. Easy freeway access.
The Good: Probably the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on, and they use fitted sheets so they don't come untucked and the end of the mattress is covered. Pillows were very good. Room was spacious, sink was outside the rest of the bathroom with a fairly good-sized counter. Large tvs with lots of channels and good picture, I think it was HD if I remember right. Rooms away from the road were very quiet except when someone wheeled a suitcase down the tile corridor. Had lots of plug-ins for cords or USB Wifi generally worked well, but dropped of several times on one of four days there. The Bad: New remodel looks nice but they made a couple of mistakes. They did not ad sound insulation in the walls so you still have whatever the cheap motel construction originally had. Judging by the rest of the room we never would have thought the walls would be so thin, then we heard talking and coughing from the next room. By the tone, we could tell it wasn't loud, but we heard it easily, so they must have heard us. Also, the hallways have short tiles that are bevel cut with a wide low grout so they make a lot more noise than they need to when people wheel their suitcases down the corridor. Clocks have a button on top which is very easy to bump when plugging/unplugging phone or computer so we turned the alarm on for 6 a.m. one morning, very early for us, and lost some precious sleep. Breakfast had a lot of options but the hot food was only reasonably hot one of four days. On three less busy days I think they put out too much hot food early and then just leave it so by the time we went down there it was hard and cold. Breakfast starts and ends early on weekdays (6-9). There were always several groups in there when they closed at 9 and they start picking stuff about about 9:05. Also, coffee machine was complicated for novices so it created a line, and hot chocolate came out of the same machine so it tasted like coffee--ick. Food could have been arranged better so it was easier to get too, or tables need to be moved away from it. Elevator was extremely slow. Parking lot honking--it's bad when rude people do this anywhere, but in a parking garage it is really loud, and one person who honked her horn while locking her car was the front desk clerk on Tuesday morning, May 23rd, at 11:00. They should make sure their employees are more polite. And it would be nice if they posted signs in the parking lot asking people not to honk their horns. Overall, it was nice and I think I'd prefer to stay here over other places in the area, but I don't think I'd make a reservation unless they could guarantee the room was not on the main road, and they said they won't do that. Those rooms should be drastically discounted, Sepulvada Blvd, highway 1, is extremely busy. It can take a few minutes just to turn out of the hotel parking lot.
Good service and amenities, close to beach and good restaurants, service is very good and friendly, breakfast included is a good options and also the hotel has a 5:30 to 7:00 pm guest appreciation hours with good food and drinks complementary, also nice to have and the facilities are clean and nice
Horrific experience!!! I asked to have a room in the back of the hotel far away from the road. My business partner called and he has a gold rewards card which is supposed to Grant us an upgrade. He called earlier in the day they told him they upgraded the room. I arrived to find that I've been given the absolute worst room in the hotel right on the noisy road with beacons glaring into my windows from the outside. There was also what sounded like a baby being abused in the room next door screaming bloody murder for an hour and a half straight. I went back to the desk to ask the clerk if that was the upgraded room. He was like a total freak that just had a staring contest with me. He just said that this was the last room they had at the hotel. Well that's not why you make reservations to get the last room ....the worst room available at the Hotel. He just kept repeating over and over there was nothing he could do with his creepy hateful stare. When I asked to speak to a manager he said there were no managers but that if I wanted so much to 'reprimand' him I could talk to a manager the next day. (Wtf?) I asked him if he could help me get a room in another Best Western in the area. He said absolutely not and there was nothing he could do. I called the 800 number and they said that that he should have been able to call another Best Western and see if there was availability. Later that same Clerk admitted angrily that he'd made a mistake and had forgotten to give me the upgrade. So it went from lying and telling me that this was the upgrade to admitting that it was the room nobody wanted in the hotel and he never given me an upgrade. The fact that he lied to my face and was rude and then turned angry later is absolutely reason for him to be fired. In the end nobody was helpful nobody apologized and I ended up having to sleep in the horrific room. All of them had the gall to tell me that if I wanted an apology to my complaint that I had to call a certain number the next day. What a terribly terribly run business. By the way the same Clerk gave the lady in front of me the wrong key to a bedroom that was occupied not once but twice. I watched the whole transaction and he said, ' oh my God twice in one day! please don't tell my boss!' I would say was a thoroughly incompetent employee but the people at the 800 number -two different men -were also equally unhelpful so this reflects back at Best Western.
Very pleased, we will stay again. Good location to walk to the beach and downtown, very comfortable and clean, with breakfast and parking at no extra cost. Staff were always helpful and friendly, plus complimentary drinks in the reception Monday to Thursday evenings.
I am best western employee and the staff did not seem very helpful outside is a young lady who checked us in around 4 pm. I had high expectations and they were not met. My room did not get serviced. The housekeeper came in and made the bed and that was it. The layout of the room could have been better also. Breakfast was amazing. Great quality food, set up.
I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Manhattan Beach for 3 nights at the end of April 2017. Check in was very quick and easy and they gave us free waters and cookies as a welcome gift. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive and made our stay very pleasant! There was plenty of parking available underground which was a huge plus for us. I was impressed with how clean, comfortable and quiet our room was (I was a little nervous since the hotel is located on such a busy street). It's very close to the airport, some nice beaches and restaurants south of the airport and about 40 min to Santa Monica. The breakfast bar was great - eggs, sausage, bacon, waffle maker, yogurt bar, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, bagels, etc! They also have a social hour I think M-Th in the evenings that serves small snacks, beer and wine (bring some cash to tip if you want). I highly recommend this hotel and it is one of the best I've stayed at in LA for the price.
The beach & restaurants is drivable. Everything is within 2.5+ miles. The hotel location is in the main streets of Sepulveda, the driveway entrance/exit was very tight & hard to visualized if its your first time since the front entrance is within 5ft from the street curbs. But, it's a very nice & cozy hotel.
The rooms were HUGE for the price and the staff was amazing and they had free beer for their happy hour!!! WOW! I will for sure be back here again and again. The staff was amazing and friendly and parking was VERY easy.
We enjoyed the convenience of the location to beaches, shopping and dining. The room was perfect for a family of four. The courtyard was very quaint with comfortable seating and fire pits. I'm recommending this hotel to all my family and friends.
Newly renovated and very clean. The design is sleek, clean lines and modern. Shout out to Brian who checked us in. Free parking, wifi and breakfast is a plus. Beach is walkable almost 2 miles. The court Yard is to be desired I would have given 5 stars if there was a pool.
We really enjoyed our stay at BEST WESTERN PLUS in Manhattan Beach. Newly remodeled.. very spacious suite with full kitchen. Breakfast everyday was super amenity especially traveling with kids. LOVED the coffee station. Front Desk attendant Robert was super helpful. Haven't stayed at BWs before but would definitely consider after staying here at BW Plus.
We were very impressed by the level of service and amenities at this hotel. The rooms were a good size and very clean. The breakfast was actually much better than any hotel that "includes breakfast". There's also a super cute courtyard where you can eat in the beautiful open air. Perla at the front desk was wonderful and very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay and it was definitely worth the nightly rate.
Friendly staff, big rooms, newly renovated, close and easy access to airport and beaches (Venice and Santa Monica). Good underground car park , safe and secure environment. Great staff who work there..
We had to make a last minute trip to LA and were on a budget. We're very happy with our pick! The hotel was clean and had recently been updated. The free breakfast and coffee bar were excellent. The hotel is about a mile walk to the Manhattan Beach pier and downtown area. It was a beautiful day so we walked there in about 15-20 minutes. Great experience overall!
On Hwy 1, but heard no traffic in my rear room. My room on the first floor, off a small hallway was lacking in natural light, but good lighting from fixtures. Manhattan Pier about one and a half miles, but hilly to walk. Shopping Mall (Village) a couple of blocks north. Full complimentary breakfast. Starbucks coffee machine with specialty coffees. Welcoming staff.
Clean, comfortable, convenient to Manhattan Beach, excellent breakfast & beverage bar, all the usual amenities, polite staff. A little above the price point but altogether good value. Is not a "suite" (does not have separate bedroom with a door that closes) but an "efficiency" with a segregated area for kitchenette pull-pull out couch bed. Sink vanity outside of bathroom a plus to allow use while someone in b.room. Nice courtyard/patio.
This place was a great balance of price and proximity for our long weekend trip to Manhattan Beach. The beach is about a mile away, a 20-25 minute walk. The staff was very friendly from the start and always made eye contact and said hello as we passed through the halls or lobby. The Wi-Fi was a little spotty in our room but otherwise it really is a great little hotel.
