"Excellent location "

Stayed 4 nights in triple sharing room. We arrived in the evening; check in process was quick and friendly staff Miguel. However, it can be hit-and-miss with other reception staff. For eg, asking information about booking high-speed trains for daytrips, one staff didn't seem too enthusiastic in assisting online booking (Spanish website..) but eventually assisted in clarifying some Spanish phrases. I believe that reception staff should be fairly experienced fielding regular similar questions about daytrips from Madrid. Room was reasonably spacious, with average quality furnishings. Air conditioning was pretty strong. Comfortable firm mattress. Not sure why house keeping kept removing the swipe key that kept air conditioning on (with staff recommending this practice as it was warm weather during the week).. despite reception staff reminding house keeping to leave the key in place! Wifi in this particular room on 3rd floor had weak signal and kept dropping out. Works fine otherwise in the common lounge room. Shower had good pressure. It's open access shower recess, so can have some water spillage. Ventilation fan was pretty weak though. Of course, the location is the main star - just off Calle Gran Via. Easy walking access to Puerta Del Sol and Plaza de Espana, and a few metro stations. Restaurants along Gran Via is understandably touristy.

"Good location but not so friendly staffs"

Hotel location is great, just 2 mins from Callo Metro station and nearby the famous shopping street Gran Via. Hotel at a quiet street but safe. Mindful as there's a staircase to walk down to hotel entrance/ receipt if you carry huge luggage. When I arrived, the guy at reception not so friendly, he barely indicated me anything about where's my room, not even told me the room number. Just given me a yellow paper (looks like a credit card receipt) with his poor hand-writing, in which I have to ask for all details. My room at 104, located at ground floor with window facing the street. (See photos attached) I can hear when people walk pass or chatting on the street. Thus I have to keep window shields closed at all time. At check-out, hotel charged me 1 bottle of water & 1 bottle of Coca Cola, which I didn't use. Eventually they waived the charges as they might have forgotten to fill up Mini-bar at the time of my check-in. However, the way they handled this mis-charging was not so friendly. So suggested you to check the mini-bar at check-in, make sure it's fully filled.

Three Metro stops within minutes. Close to Gran Via and nice restaurants. Great choice while visiting Madrid????. Kudos to the staff...

"Cosy and quiet hotel in the centre of Madrid "

Best location. It's right next to Grand Via so you get access to metro, buses, shopping centres, cafes, restaurants,... for just 1-minute walk. But it's also very quiet. I sleep super early but the bustling streets out at Grand Via doesnt affect the hotel at all. Room is comfy and with good size. The bathroom, however, is a bit small. Other than that, everything is fine. Basic amenities for any 3-star hotel. Breakfast is a bit limited but I didnt mind it. Staff were friendly, speak good English. The hotel overall just radiates this cosy vibe that made my stay very comfortable.

After making a few recalculating moves we found the hotel. The staff, on arrival, was super. Helped us finding our way around and made recommendations for restaurants. Room was quite large, looking out over a side street/alley but at night or in morning we didn't care as we were going to sleep or getting ready to go out. The hotel is near many restaurants to suit any taste and not a long walk to the main restaurant area. Would definitely stay again.

"BW Los Condes - Madrid, Spain"

The BW Los Condes is on a side street, near Calle Gran Via which is great for metro access, shopping, restaurants etc... It has been recently upgraded, my room was clean and very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and most spoke English well. I stayed there for 6 nights this month of May 2018.

"Clean and well priced!"

I stayed at this hotel mid February. It is a good base to stay, simple and comfortable. Good location to access everything – not my favourite area in Madrid (quite busy just being off Gran Via) but very convenient near shops and restaurants, metro stops etc. We never had a problem with noise, just the odd noise from the corridor outside. We booked their very handy airport shuttle on the way back, but would advise not to do it if you are in a rush – we had to pick up other people and went round in traffic and ended up passing the hotel to go back towards the airport after nearly an hour in the car! So would be quicker on the metro. I'd consider this hotel again if I needed a cheaper hotel for a short trip.

"Great Alternative To The Big Hotels"

Booked this hotel on line and stayed for three nights. The property is located down a bit of an unappealing laneway and at first sight you may think you'd made the wrong choice. Relax - you haven't ! . Reception was very friendly and welcoming. Check-in was quick and eveything was outlined. The lift is tiny, but it works and we were in our room fairly quickly. The room was small, but had everything you needed and was very clean. The bathroom was a good size and once again, very clean with plenty of toiletries included. Overall, the room was very comfortable and being off the Grand Via, was very quiet - making for a good nights sleep. . The staff are this place's best asset. Nothing was a problem and the few things we asked for were delivered promptly and with a smile. Breakfast is included and there is a good choice of items on hand. . Would definitely recommend as an alternative to the bigger, impersonal hotels and particularly if you are on a budget.

"My New Hotel Ritz in Madrid"

This was my third trip in as many years to Madrid. The first two spent at the Hotel Ritz. From now on I will be staying at the Hotel Los Condes. Great service, comfortable rooms and wonderful people and a 1/3 of the price. Thank you Carmen for taking such good care of me at check in. I really appreciated your help. You made me feel very special and appreciated. Thank you again. In addition, the hotel is a great location for access to Gran Via, Metro and restaurants. Thank you!

"Nice Motel but noisy location"

The is a nice budget motel w/friendly, professional desk personnel. Bkfst is excellent w/european flavor. Room is small but very adequate. The con is the locatio where the street noise does not die off until around 3:00a every nite.

loscondeshotel, Director de Relaciones con Clientes at Best Western Hotel Los Condes, responded to this review
Good Morning, First of all we would like to thank you for your opinion so that we can continue to improve. We would like to tell you that our hotel is located in the center of the capital but we are located on a pedestrian street which makes the noise and disturbances are greatly reduced, we do not know what was caused by these noises but if we had indicated we would have tried mediate to solve the problem or notify the police since at those times that you indicate is not allowed to bother in public areas, for us our clients and their rest, come first. I apologize and we would like you to check what I have said in your next stay in Madrid. Thank you for your opinion because it allows us to continue growing. A greeting.

"...close to everything You came to enjoy in Madrid"

Small hotel with tiny rooms but very clean and most importantly very close to everything you came to enjoy in Madrid. Clean, very quiet hotel with small rooms located on a walking street 7 minutes walk to center.

"Good location, friendly staff, concerns about the rooms"

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The location provides easy access to Madrid. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we were allocated room 310. This is a miserably dark room. There is no natural light in the bathroom (which smelt damp all the time despite the cleaners best efforts to mask the smell with bleach). The shower in the bathroom was good, however make sure you shower early as later users, as we discovered, will only be offered lukewarm water. There are no English speaking TV channels! ( other than France 24 and two American business channels) Not good. The final concern was the plastic mattress protector on the beds....Why? Is the inclusion of this type of product perhaps a reflection of the type of clientele the hotel is expecting to host. We will not be returning to this hotel.

loscondeshotel, Director Comercial at Best Western Hotel Los Condes, responded to this review
Dear Customer; Thank you for your comments. We feel that the lighting does not seem appropriate. He also commented that we have proceeded to renew all our mattresses as well as the linen being made of Egyptian cotton, complying with all the necessary standards. A greeting.

"Clean Hotel with spacious room in the center of Madrid Callao"

Very nice and quiet Hotel in the City Center. 3 minnutes walk to the Metro Station Callao with various lines to attractions, e,g. only 2 stops to Banco de Espania for visiting Prado Museum. Hotel also Close to Shops, 2 minutes to Carefpour Express, Mc, KFC and other Restaurants. Computer Mall at Callao The room has high ceiling, , Air con or heater . Breakfast 8 Euro wehn booing ahead - plenty of Food, cerial, fresh fruit and fruit juice and local Snacks, nice bread whole wheet or White, croicons, Joghurt etc. Staff very freindly, Receptionist willing to help any time. Launge has Internet Computer and Printer to use for free anytime, newspaper. Landry 24h, good Service I defenitly will stay here again. Thank you

"very cpzy no thrills hotel wonderful location"

I am visitng thre hotel evry year and it is very stable. It has a great location near the plaza d'espagna and and is very cost effective. Moderate in expensive brekfast and good prices. Hoel is faultlessly clean and nice lobby. Extremely recommended to people who go for businees in IFEMA

"Small hotel located at the center"

We got room 206 which was at the street side. The room was small but it had what we needed. The shower was good and the beds were oke. The airconditioning system in the room didn't seem to function properly. We wanted to use the AC to cool the room down a little but it just kept getting warmer and warmer but we just opened the window to solve this issue. The location of the hotel was really amazing. It was literally walking distance to all the tourist attractions in Madrid. We didn't have to use the bus or metro often. We didn't have much contact with the staff so I can't really say anything about that. Just hello's and good morning/evening :) The only thing we didn't like was that the rooms weren't sound proof. Being a light sleeper myself, I thought having a room on the street side would cost me sleepless nights but it wasn't the noise from outside that bothered me but from the other guests slamming the doors during the day and night. We tried to sleep in on our second day but didn't work well because we could hear the housekeeping staff hovering ang cleaning the rooms the next to us. My partner can sleep wherever but even him had trouble sleeping because of so much noise. Other than that, we would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Fantastic location"

This hotel is really nice and it have a good location.Few minutes from grand via and we walked everywhere to most of interesting places. The staff is really nice and helpfull.Very good breakfast And the hotel is very clean!!

"Great location, friendly staff and nice room"

Room was fine, clean and comfortable. Not the highest end hotel I have stayed in but for the price was a very good deal. Staff very friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. Best part of the hotel is location: Perfect! Heart of historic Madrid. I will stay there again.

" Central location, excellent hotel "

Late review but visited here for 3 nights in half term for a city break with my 2 11 yr old children. Perfect hotel for a family city break. Safe location, clean large rooms. Breakfast was lovely with good choice and good service. Centrally located we walked to so many places from the hotel. Metro stops nearby if you want to go further afield, we took it to the Bernabeu.

"Some excellent features, very good location"

This hotel is situated on a side street and close to several metro stations. Most of the main sites and shops are within easy walking distance. The hotel is comfortable and reasonably priced. The breakfast was fine but did not offer an extensive choice. The staff was helpful and pleasant. However, we had rooms over looking the side street. If I had 2 hours sleep each night that might be an exaggeration. The noise outside throughout the night, people shouting, walking up and down and then the bin collections was horrendous. In fairness a relative had a room in a different part of the hotel and was very happy. A perfectly acceptable hotel in which to stay but be aware of the location of your allocated room.

"stay here"

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. would recommernd to individuals on vacation or business trip.walking distance to tourist attractions, restaurants, tapas and retail stores.plaza del sol and plaza mayor and many other attractions are nearby. The accomodations are very good and offer a breakfast for your convenience but there are many places were you can gave breakfast near the hotel.

"Great Central Position"

Very easy to get to everything from this hotel. The hotel is very clean and the staff good, unfortunately our room was extremely small. The hospitality tray had 2 sachets of tea/coffee/powdered milk and we would have expected more. Watch out if you open the peanuts, they are not complimentary and cost 2.5 euros. We didn't have breakfast as there are numerous cafes within easy walking distance.

"Well located, reasonably priced central Madrid hotel"

We stayed here first for six nights, then came back two additional times for one-night stays. It's near Plaza de Espana metro (for arrivals from the airport) as well as Santo Domingo and Callao metro stops. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. The more expensive rooms (room numbers ending in 02) are bigger and quieter, but the standard room (number ending in 06) was also okay. The breakfast buffet was quite good and the coffee excellent, particularly when the servers came round and refilled our cups so we didn't have to get up. One criticism: it's impossible to close the room doors quietly, so you might be awakened by other guests.

"Excellent compact hotel"

This is an excellent hotel centrally located in Madrid with facilities up to date. Rooms are big and clean. We took a triple room which was very spacious. The breakfast too is good and with a decent variety

The reception staff Reece and Carmen couldnt have been more wonderful! I was in quite a predicament as my Passport and money had just been stolen and they did everything they could to help me get my trip back on track. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable with a great área to relax in the reception. Thanks again to the outstanding staff Reece and Carmen, you were incredible.

"Compact hotel in good location"

It's easy to get to from the airport by taking underground line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios then changing to line 10 in the direction of Puerta del Sur and getting off at Plaza de Espana. Choose the Gran Via exit and walk up the Gran Via and take the fourth small pedestrian road on the left. Small hall and breakfast cafeteria. Quite dark rooms with nothing to look at outside but that and the air conditioning kept them cool. We were quite comfortable here and breakfast included selection of cereals, tortilla, pastries, yogurt, etc.

"Excellent combination of location, service and cleanliness; close to a range of excellent wargame, model & comic shops."

The BW Hotel Los Condes is superbly located in a quiet street of booksellers and from this central location all of the major tourist areas can be reached in a matter of minutes by taxi but its not much longer walking with the advantage of experiencing the quieter side streets with a fantastic array of shops, bars and restaurants.

"Quite reasonable"

I was initially unimpressed by the street which my wife said needed a good scrubbing which in fact happened two days later. The hotel is not so easy to locate as it's set back from the street a little and you won't know you're there until you're standing right in front of it. Our room was fine with everything in working order. The staff were nice enough but a little formal. Due to the hotel's central location there's ample choice of places for breakfast - some good, some not so.

"Amazing Location! "

Got the metro to the city centre from Madrid airport and the hotel was then only a few minutes walk. It's just off the Gran Via, perfectly situated for shopping and sightseeing. There's a lounge with newspapers available. We paid extra for the breakfast but this isn't really necessary as there are so many lovely coffee shops nearby. Breakfast is continental - cereal, toast, fruit, pastries etc. Rooms are nice - clean and air conditioned which was much needed in the summer heat! Can't believe the price - great value for such a centrally located hotel.

"Lovely hotel"

This hotel is in a great location, just behind the busy streets of the city centre. The reception staff are helpful and the kitchen and domestic staff are all so pleasant and helpful. Despite being so busy in the kitchen, or cleaning rooms, they always have a smile on their face. On our first day, we asked for an iron and one was bought to our room within ten minutes. The hotel has a good selection of breakfast too; croissants, cereals, rolls, sliced bread, omelettes, yoghurt, fruits, juices etc. There are at least four train stations and a couple of bus stops within walking distance of the hotel too, and it's very easy to get around. If you want to do a city tour, the bus stops outside the hotel. It's cheap too, just €1.50 to travel on bus and train. You will never go hungry in the city centre either. There are so many restaurants too choose from! There is the usual Spanish cafes and restaurants but there are also a couple of American diners and a TGIF. Walk down to Sol (which is like a small Piccadilly Circus) and there are more restaurants. There isn't also a 24 hour laundrette ten seconds away from the hotel too!

"Good for the price "

Typical of other European hotels. Tiny spaces and dated interiors. But good service and low prices. Pros: near lots of attractions and theater district. Lots of restaurant options and pedestrian friendly streets. Clean. High ceilings to make you forget about tight spaces. Comfortable beds. Mini bar with room to put your own items if you choose. Great water pressure. Cons: Tiny space. Like just enough room to walk around the bed. A rack for one suitcase and a small closet that you need to use to have room to walk. Tiny bathrooms. The shower was nice but if you are plus sized it may be uncomfortable. Dates, interiors. (But clean. Shabby but not dirty!)

"Wonderful hotel, excellent location & charming staff"

Wounderful hotel, locat by bus station and metro stations. The location is excellent on the main shopping street, the staff are charming and are happy to help and satisfy our satisfaction for any request and assistance. We'll be back soon.

"Well hidden but located in prime location!"

Stayed one night at this hotel, from Monday to Tuesday: staff very knowledgeable and helpful, spacious room with easy access, kind of hidden in a back street but very close by foot to Plaza del Sol, Plaza de Espana and to fast train Renfe back/forth from airport, within musical theater district and Prado museum with a cold but reasonable breakfast...

"Hidden on a side street that our taxi driver was afraid to enter"

I love these Best Western boutique hotels - small, intimate, and hidden in the heart of the city. This one was on a pedestrian street just off the main road, and without GPS, our taxi driver would have never found it. We spent two days walking the city from here. Since we visited lots of major attractions in multiple directions, it's fair to say that it's in the middle of it all. The best part of the hotel was the service. We arrived at 9am after our transatlantic flight. They had a room for us within 20 minutes, and they let us grab a couple of croissants from the breakfast buffet to feed our starving toddler. They also made her laugh and smile multiple times as we came in and out of the hotel.

"Nice hotel in the centre of Madrid"

Friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds, what more can you ask for? The hotel is a short walk from the Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor, a couple of metro stations, and is an easy walk to the Prado.

"A hotel I will use again"

The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the main visitor attractions and if you need to use the metro it's in between two stations with different lines. The hop on hop off bus stops nearby too. As a singleton I had a very small room but I didn't really need any more space and, apart from the sounds of other guests in the corridor and doors slamming, it was very quiet. Loved the shower. The wifi was available in the room as well as communal areas.

"Madrid City Break"

Some where we always wanted to visit and were not disappointed. Very central location, but situated in a quiet side street. Location is close to one the main theatres and easy walking distance to main square with lots of tapas bars and places to eat. The sunday market is definitely worth going to and indoor glass market hall do great tapas and has a lovely atmosphere

"Almost perfect, except for the most important thing of all"

Pros: - Location: (Walking) Plaza Mayor (11mins), Puerta del Sol (8mins), Royal Palace of Madrid (11mins), Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (18mins), Teatro Real (7mins). - Bathroom amenities: Soap bar, bodywash/shampoo, hair dryer (ok quality), shoe shine cloth. - Free in-room WiFi (good speed). - Good shower and water pressure. - In-room safe large enough for laptop. Cons: - I would return here immediately if it was not for one MAJOR thing. I couldn't sleep any night I was there. As others have already mentioned, the combined noises coming from outside, from the room directly above and in the hallway outside the room were just too loud to sleep. FYI, Continental Buffet Breakfast is €9.

"Positive experience"

The hotel is in an excellent location, near the Gran Via. The accomodation was very comfortable. The room was not so big but very quite and well furnished. The quality/price ratio is very high. Recommended!

"Good Location,Good Hotel"

Surprised how good and well located this hotel is. We were on bed and and breakfast. Room a standard type room, kept very clean with comfortable beds, room 209 no views from windows, only onto narrow pedestrian road. Cannot comment on other rooms. Breakfast was continental type, with good selection of meats, cereals and fruits, more than adequate. Reception staff friendly and helpful. For The price would not hesitate in returning.

"Nothing exciting"

The hotel is in a quite street in the center of Madrid (Gran Via / Callao) very useful for tourists. The property is a little bit old fashioned, clean but old. Common spaces (lobby, breakfast room) tights, The staff kind and professional. The room is clean and spacious, but unfortunately the old furnitures and the general state of the room give an atmosphere of "uncleaness". My room even if at 6th floor was dark. And also furnitures and towels... all old and dark. Good for the price/quality ratio, if you don't have special needs.

"Very nice and clean Hotel"

Hotel is recently renovated, so it looks brand new and particularly clean. Also, I loved the bathroom, modern decorated and well accessorized. Sheets were white and pleasant to touch. The hotel is centrally disposed, near to Callao metro station. Breakfast was ok, nice service. We felt like home :)

"Good start but big issue led to failure"

Hotel is in the back streets of Madrid. This is a positive. All pedestrianised. Hotel itself is simple and pleasant. Rooms are basic but OK - also, price is reasonable. The main failing is my room 506, had poor drains. If someone elsewhere flushed their toilet, something gurgled in my bathroom and then I got the smell of drains. I suspect they know this as my window was already open. This is easy to solve with an anti-siphon system. I have said it before, people that run hotels should stay in the rooms to see the issues. This has not been done here. Could do better

"good location clean hotel"

Stayed there for almost a week. Clean rooms and right off the Gran Via. Stayed on points. We were happy with the location. Many good restaurants in the streets behind the hotel. Metro station santa domingo 2 minutes walk from hotel.

"Budget Hotel In A Fab Location"

I booked this hotel using Air Miles knowing it was a budget hotel. While I did have a hotel issue the first night everything smoothed out and I can honestly say that if you are traveling on a budge this hotel is perfectly fine. The location is excellent and within 10 minutes walking you arrive at Plaza Mayor or Plaza Sol where most of the tours start. Everything is super close by and the hotel is on a quiet side street. It's decent. don't discount it and daytime front desk clerk Carmen is lovely. You won't be in your room much anyway.

"Location, location, location"

Great hotel. Comfortable rooms, well decorated. Quiet and clean. But most importantly in the centre of everything. We could walk everywhere. Never caught the metro or a taxi. Would highly recommend it.

"Nice hotel, near perfect location."

A European would easily understand why I liked this hotel. So would someone who's stayed in Europe and not been on an unlimited budget. But Americans "crossing the pond" for the first time would probably arch their eyebrows. The hotel, the rooms, the bathroom, the lobby and the cafeteria are TINY by American standards, but very much par for the course in Europe. That said, the hotel is very clean, not rundown at all (I believe they renovated not too long ago). There's an attempt at simple décor. The rooms (and I'll say it again, tiny by American standards) don't lack most that Americans expect to see. It did lack a chest of drawers (except for the one drawer in the closet) but had a closet, desk with chair, more than adequate lighting, a very comfortable bed (I ordered a double-bed room), a suitcase rack, small bench and a couple of shelves at each side of the bed. A/C and heating unit in the room modern and worked (I tested them, but didn't use them, as the temperatures were pleasant.). The bathroom (and again, tiny) was very clean, modern and new. It boasted a shower stall with a large hand-held shower that fit just fine on a hook in the stall that allowed hands-free showers with no problem. The location is great. perhaps 150 ft. off Gran Vía, within walking distance of most sites tourists would like to visit. Two metro stations very close by, as well as bus stops. The hotel is on a small side street lined mostly by book stores. My initial impression was that at night it would be dark and deserted, perhaps dangerous. I was right about the first two, not about the dangerous part. No problems coming and going at any hour. One down side is that some nights revelers would holler and sing as they made their way down the street. Now, the hotel provides thick windows and even a metal shutter that rolls up and down at the touch of a button. Since I'm not particularly noise sensitive, I chose to sleep with the window and shutter open. I heard the partiers just fine, but managed to drop off and stay asleep with no problem. Perhaps if I'd kept the window and shutter closed the noise wouldn't have been noticeable. I'll never know, nor do I care. I slept just fine. Another down side for non-Spanish speakers is that all of the TV programming is in Spanish. Someone wanting to catch a movie before going to bed is out of luck if they don't speak the language. As for the staff, I interacted little with them. But they were all pleasant, polite and helpful. Although there are myriad places to to eat and drink in the area, my two favorites were the bakery Pansgranier and the "meson" O'Luar, a short walk down the calle del Marqués Leganés (which runs by the rear of the hotel) to the calle de San Bernardo. In short, I enjoyed my stay, will be back and will certainly stay here again.

The Hotel Los Condes provides a very good location for a city break in Madrid with easy access to the town centre, sites, shops and restaurants. There are metro stations nearby and it's worth getting a 10 trip ticket which can be shared.

"Decent hotel for a city break"

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel is ok but the location is great. Rooms are small and noisy. very small hotel tucked just in a alley on the main street. The staff is helpful for tourists. Hotel is very well connected with public transport like metro busses etc.

"Best Western Madrid"

Excellent location just off Gran Via and near Playa d'Espana. Very quiet. Easy shuttle to airport. Lots of nearby amenities. Breakfast outrageously expensive, so ate elsewhere for half the price. Walking distance to Prado, Toledo Gate.

"Nice and clean"

We stayed for 3 nights in the beginning of Oct 2016. The room was clean and comfortable. The room was on the smaller side, to be expected in Europe. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located close to Gran Via, down a very quiet street. We were easily able to walk anywhere we wanted to go during out stay, as the hotel was close to everything we were interested in seeing.

"Great Staff, Great Hotel, Great Value!"

Our stay at the BEST WESTERN Hotel Los Condes helped make our first trip to Madrid a memorable one. The friendly staff of this hotel, the cleanliness of our room, and the close proximity of the hotel to so many site seeing attractions made this hotel an excellent accommodation while we were in Madrid. First, the staff helped us not only by answering our 'many' questions but also by ensuring that we had everything we needed to help us enjoy our stay. (Thanks, especially to Miguel - you are a STAR!) Second, our room was extremely clean and quite spacious for a standard room. (Thanks to our WONDERFUL cleaning staff who took care of us every day!) Finally, the proximity of this hotel to the city centre (as well as to so many of the 'must see' sites) made the exploration around Madrid easy for us. We would not hesitate to stay again at he BEST WESTERN Los Condes in Madrid.

"Reasonable accommodations in the centre of Madrid"

On our recent trip to Madrid, we booked a room at this fairly basic, but decent hotel. The location turned out to be excellent in close proximity to all major attractions, allowing us to walk everywhere. The room was clean and the staff at the front desk were very helpful. The only downside was the breakfast, which was very basic.

"Stay in Madrid during FITUR"

I have stayed in this hotel more than four times already . Slightly away from the Gran Via and very close to the Metro station. The breakfast is good but it's the same for almost every day. Rooms are relatively spacious and well maintained The usage of the bathroom is not difficult as to use the shower you need to stand in the bath tub. I think it's better to take out the bath tub and replace that area for a shower cubical Very friendly staff at the reception through out the period and well maintained records for repeat clientele Real value for money

"Great location, Great breakfast, Comfortable and quiet rooms"

No complaints, this hotel had everything I wanted, and for the price, location and solid breakfast, you couldnt get better. I'd definitely recommend it, and would definitely stay here if in Madrid again

"Good basic value"

This was a late single booking for a holiday weekend in early September, visiting friends and city. It was the best value I could find online relative to my basic requirement for a clean room to sleep and shower. I was not disappointed, though the single room was not palatial. The aircon was a bit noisy, and the minibar fridge more so, but I slept well enough. Shower very good. The hotel was going through some upgrading while I was there, so I can't really comment on the general internals of the place. I did not use the restaurant. Staff were pleasant, efficient and helpful, and spoke English well enough. Location is very good, being quiet and within easy walking distance of the Metro at Santo Domingo.

"Good Location ! "

The hotel is great has a good location . Located 50mts off Grand Via road . All locations that one would like to see in Madrid are within walking distance . The metro is also close by just incase.Staff is helpful.

"Budget hotel to the max! Low expectations"

I booked this place on my Airmiles rewards points so I guess I should've had low expectations. The only good thing is that it is SUPER central located. Amazing location. Aside from this, the rooms are super small. We had a room on a higher level and it was going through extensive renovations. The lobby was a mess and seemed to be falling apart. Not the nicest front desk staff. Maybe consider staying at a nicer place if you have the budget.

"Very good choice"

It´s well located, near La Gran Via, and the principals streets to reach easy all the places you want to see. It´s safe to walk alone in the night all over the place. It offers a good breakfast. The rooms were very clean and confortable, they´ve been reestaling recently.

"Comfortable and quiet"

Excellent location off La Gran Via, smallish hotel in an incredibly quiet spot. Friendly staff and very comfortable and clean rooms (being refurbished) with tea and coffee making facilities. Good value for money. Will definitely return.

"Convenient "

We stopped in Madrid for a night. Wanted something in the town centre so we could explore, mainly on foot. Hotel was clean, good location and reasonable price compared to others. Will recommend. Rooms small. Someone was always present at reception and helpful.

"Great location, clean and friendly"

I had a great stay at the BW hotel condos. It was near everything I wanted to see. I walked to the Prado and the Plaza Mayor.I loved my room it was my favorite room on my trip traveling through Spain. It was clean and my bed was super comfy. The brae fast was really nice and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

"Unbeatable Location"

Los Condes is located in a quiet side street 50 meters from the Gran Via the main road through downtown making most things within close walking distance or if you need to go further there are three metro stops within 100 meters. The hotel itself was lovely, it's just been refurbished and our room and bathroom were immaculate. The staff were also great, without a doubt we would stay here again. Oh and the wi fi in the room was very good, of course we only used it for a few minutes as were staying in the middle of Madrid which is rather exciting so there's lots to do and see so we weren't sat in our room on Facebook or playing Candy Crush all day!

"Construction Insanity. Less than 0..."

We were in Room 7... construction above, beside, banging, yelling, drilling, unloading on the street outside window .. ... Total rip off... they are insane to keep this open .... -they should pay you to stay here 0 out of 5 stars..noise . From 8 till 8 pm then at night street noise and other rooms at night...wasted airmiles...

"good location"

It was a 5 day business trip to spain. The hotel is centrally located. Good rooms and clean toilets. Breakfast buffet is ok . Wifi is speed and staff is very friendly.there are many restaurants and bars around the hotel.

"Great place and location"

The location is awesome, within walking distance of the heart of madrid. Room very clean and staff very helpful ( I speak spanish) and I heard them speak good english to other customers. Breakfast is very good, it has a little bit of everything (it was included with my reservation though). I got this hotel in advance and paid less than 80 per night which I consider an awesome price for what I got and the vecinity to the main spots of madrid. On the other side calle de los libreros is dark and empty at night but had no troubles walking up with my wife at midnight. I do recommend

"Expected more for the price"

The location of this hotel is good, right in the middle of the action. But that's about it. Here is the list of issues I have experienced: - The shower head holder does not hold the shower head at a proper angle, so you have to hold it during the shower - Entire 2nd floor is blocked for renovations and there is dust and noise in the adjacent floors - In fact the entire hotel is noisy, no proper sound isolation from the internal hallway or even the street - Some rooms do not have a minibar and when I went to the reception to ask for some water they told me to go to the nearest grocery store - You have the option to pre-pay for breakfast at a discounted price but pay attention otherwise they will charge you one more time - I have made the checkout and then went for breakfast. While leaving they didn't have a clue and stopped me for making sure I had already paid, implying that I was "sneaking out"

"Old hotel with small dark rooms"

Stayed here for a week on business and OK if alone. Up a quiet street off Grand Via so excellent location. Room small hot and dark with a distinctly 70,'s decor. Slept with window open but noisy from early in the morning. Heavy drilling and hammering from 9. Must be renovating the rooms, so maybe this will have improved by the summer.

"Great value hotel and superb location"

This hotel is in a great location and is just off the Gran Via down a quiet street and only a short walk into the main shopping part of Madrid with all the bars, cafes and restaurants. If you go further away from the Gran Via there are lots of bars and restaurants frequented by locals. The rooms are a good size and clean and the room we had was quiet even though it overlooked the Gran Via. There is a small bar which is good for a night cap or a quick drink before heading out.

"Excellent location, good quality for money"

Right in the heart of the city centre, walking distance to almost everywhere, good breakfast included in the rate, friendly staff, nice renovated room, crappy wifi and the cleaning staff was forgetful - they forgot to bring back clean towels and misplaced our rubbish bin.

A clean and compact hotel situated just off the Calle Gran Via and well placed for the City Tour buses. Breakfast is the standard continental type with plenty of cold meats, tortillas, toast, pastries. Our room had just been re-decorated and was clean and comfortable.

"Clean nice hotel rooms are old but otherwise cozy and friendly"

I am visitng this hotel for the third time. It did not change. Faultlessly clean. Rooms are simple small but cozy. breakfast is modest but sufficient. The crew is friendly and is serving the hotel for a long time giving you an homly feeling.

"Shhhhhh... why did I book there!!!"

Definitely not an american Best Wester!!! they should take away their franchise! Stood for five days in a crappy, tiny hotel room with no space at all. Noises coming from all parts, and a construction going on while my satay in there. The only good thing this place has to offer is its location near to Gran Via street. I strongly recommend to book in some other hotel, there are hundreds with great location near this one.

"Great value and super location."

Hotel was very basic but still clean and habitable. We stayed there a week and there was only little to complain. Door was thin and all noise come in your room. Luckily our floor was quite quiet. They do some renovation in upper floors but that not bother us. Bahtroom was little quite in the mornings thats propably because of an old sewers. Shower has good pressure and water was worm through the day. Wifi works ok. Breakfast was basic but very good and that starts your day perfectly. We could book this hotel again for sure.

"Great hotel for city break"

The hotel is in a perfect location and if you are like us and happy walking everything is within walking distance. The rooms were ideal and were very clean. The staff at the desk were friendly and happy to help if you needed to know where things were. There are few restaurants close to the hotel and metro stations near by. Overall the hotel was perfect for us and was a brilliant base for a 2 day city break.

"Best Western hotel Los Condes, Madrid"

The hotel is under construction, the noise is unbearable, they should advice of that at the time of booking, so the costumers can make a choice to take a risk and stay there or Book at another Best Western within the area. Also is my second time there and there is no shower curtain in the bathroom but a pice of glass, not enough to prevent the water to go to the bathroom floor.

"Best western los condes 10"

The hotel is not new, it is in historical region. But everything is renewed. Marvelous localizati I n m close to gran via, puerta del sol, mercado san miguel, primark, restaurants, metro, everything.... the room is good, bathroom excelent, tv good, but few c h annels ( only 6). Breakfast good. Thevh o tel value t h e amount was payed.. i recommend.

"Bad Room Great location"

small room bad bed, lots noise, great location, not cofotable bad, no parking , no english by the staff, carless, impatient staff , great location, very convenient, all is close and nearby, can not park t5he car

"A nice hotel for a short stay"

We have spent 2 nights at this small-medium size hotel (about 70 rooms). The hotel location is very good as it is steps from Gran Via ( Gallo metro station). The hotel is clean, the room is spacious enough all in it is functioing well WIFI ok.Breakfast is tasty a lot of dairy producs lack of "greens" No one will exit hungray from the dinning room.

"Handy little spot"

This hotel came as part of a package I had booked and probably isn't somewhere which I would have booked for myself. The hotel is located around two minutes' walk from the “Gran Via”, five minutes from the main stores and ten minutes from the centre, squares, restaurants etc. Maybe just a little out of it for people who like to be right in the centre, but from my point of view, not a bad location at all, handy for the subway, maybe five minutes' walk from the “Plaza de Espana” station. We had time on our hands, so we took the subway from the airport, quite straight forward if you haven't done it before. The machine at the airport has an English button and is easy to use, costs €4.90 per person and takes approximately 30 -40 minutes with one change. It did feel a little bit like I was walking up a back street as I approached the hotel, a bit grubby and some dog muck around (I did get the feeling that this was pretty normal, people living with dogs in flats, in a city!), but once inside the hotel it was clean enough. The rooms were ok, basic and clean, perhaps a little old fashioned but nothing to get upset about. I did feel that the hotel lacked a focal point like a bar, but if you are just looking for somewhere to lay your head while you spend your days and nights enjoying the delights of the city, then it isn't a bad choice.

"Central but noisy"

Stayed here for 3 nights, Room ok for what we paid for but very noisy in the night time. Bin collectors came to collect bins at 1am on two out of the three nights that we stayed and it was very noisy. Also could here a lot of people talking and shouting between 1-4am and would wake us up. The hotel is very central as it is on the Gran Via strip. Easy to get on the metro to different places.

"Good value central location"

The hotel is dated but ideal for a cheap city break.Check in was efficient even at 11pm and we were given our room key with a minimum of fuss. The room 504 was small but perfectly adequate although the bed was rock hard.Full bathroom facilities with toiletries and hairdryer. Breakfast was typically continental, bread, cold meats, pastries etc but again perfect for starting the day.The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the Gran Via which is perfect

"Clean and comfortable"

Just returned from stayin here for 3 nights with my partner. We never ate from the cafeteria so can't comment on that. The staff on the front desk were all very nice and polite, 1 even went out his way to let me print of tickets for a football match which saved a lot of bother for us. The room we were given was very clean and comfortable and was cleaned every day. The room was slightly small but it didn't affect our stay too much. Would definetly stay here again.

"Great Location & Staff"

The location is perfect although the facility is not new and luxury. The staff is very nice and helpful. Did not have time to use the in -hotel services except the computer for printing boarding passes and the guest room.

"Great hotel for short stay"

We had a short stay at this hotel in September. The hotel has a great location in the center of Madrid. It is very easy reachable with metro from the airport. The stuff is very polite and helpful, and the hotel is nice and clean. All recommendations for this hotel!

"weekend break"

The hotel is very near to Gran Via so getting around is very easy. The back street its on isn't so nice but the inside of the hotel is good. The reception staff were very helpful and helped us use the internet to print off our flight boarding passes and gave us information about getting around town.

"Perfect location, charming older hotel"

Hotel Los Condes is an older hotel with charm, and it's located in a great area of Madrid. It's right off Gran Via and in walking distance of much of the city. Since the hotel is a little bit older, the rooms feel a bit older, too, but they're spacious and clean. The price is great for the fantastic location, and the staff members were friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again and would gladly recommend it.
