Very clean, daily room make up was great. Pretty good breakfast and free coffee all day. Good location for midtown LA where there are not many options. The hotel is fairly up to date, looks to be recently remodeled. Quite enough, nice bed! Would stay again.
BW New Hampshire LA exceeded my expectations. Parking was attractively price. Room rate was excellent for LA. I look forward to returning to this particular BW. Good coffee in my room. Breakfast includes best waffles!!! Room amenities were well above average. Super clean.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. I went out for the evening and when I got back there was nowhere to park my car without leaving my car keys with security overnight so they could move my car as needed. The receptionist very kindly moved her car so that I could take her spot and thus keep my car keys! The room was clean and quiet. I slept well. Would stay here again.
This was a perfectly fine best Western. The free breakfast was good, housekeeping and front desk were nice. It was located close to the Wiltern, where I was going to a concert, and also on a bus route. For being in a city, it wasn't overly loud. However, the rooms were worn--the carpet appeared dingy.
Came back after a year (since my first solo vacay last year) and despite the delays at San Jose Airport and Burbank Airport, I finally arrived at this place. Still recognized the staff (from Alex, Aiko, graveyard girl Rachel, Gabriela, and Roy the parking attendant guy) and I got the warmest welcome. Loved my room and its amenities and still digging the distance the hotel from every restaurant, grocery/convenience store (Ralph's, 24-hour Walgreens), train/bus stop, and others. Can't wait to come back to this place again. See you guys in 2027....cant wait though
Most time when I've stayed at a hotel it's quick in out and rush to leave. With this hotel I wanted to stay longer the beds where great food was good employees where amazing as well
It was an amazing stay. We love the staff and how helpful they were. Parking was not expected to be out of pocket and you have to reserve ahead of time
Our stay commenced with a warm welcome and very efficient check-in with Madison, who also graciously provided suggestions for local restaurants. There is somewhat of a unique breakfast set-up: guests are allowed to enter a secured/locked dining area upon showing a special dated meal card. Once inside, guests will enjoy many offerings including hot breakfast foods, e.g. eggs, potatoes, sausage/bacon, also very fresh muffins, sliced breads, Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. The outstanding, most noticeable components are the very clean and neat displays - THE best we've seen at a hotel breakfast area in many years! It is obvious that Esther and Irma take pride in their positions and work very hard to maintain such an attractive breakfast room. As this is not a new hotel, there are some dated features like hallway carpets and furnishings. However, with that said, we saw nothing that was worn/tattered, also beds and bedding are pleasingly newer and comfortable. Most notable, it is obvious the management has high standards because of the tidiness throughout this hotel. This location is conveniently located if you'd like to enjoy Koreatown and walk to restaurants, bakeries, and local shops.
This Best Western is location is right around the corner from the underground metro station. The area is safe, and you feel safe in the hotel. There are plenty of places to eat, in the area for, lunch and dinner. The complimentary breakfast has an abundance of options, that do not disappoint. The hotel staff keeps the eating area, front desk, and guest rooms very clean! The rooms are spacious, including the bathroom. The hotel is centrally located; meaning you have public transport, or any transport available to get to Universal Studios, Hollywood, DTLA, and the beach. The parking lot they make available was full, but I did not have a car so it was not a problem. If you are visiting LA with a vehicle, it is just a known fact that parking can be difficult anywhere you go. So pre-plan for that as much as possible. My Taxi/Uber/Lyft to the airport only took 40 minutes from the hotel before morning rush hour. However, you are close enough to downtown that you could potentially plan to go to Union Station and take the Flyaway shuttle. That process adds an extra hour to your transportation planning, however. I searched for many hotels in the greater Los Angeles area and this one caught my eye. I am so happy I chose this place because I was able to hang out downtown for a while and drop my stuff back off at the hotel, then venture out again. The location is perfect! Thank you so much to the owners and staff for a lovely stay that made my visit that much easier!
We chose this hotel largely for the location - close to Metro stations. We had a large room on the corner of the building - overlooking a busy intersection. With the windows and heavy curtains closed, the noise was not bad. The hotel is small, breakfast room is very small - and overwhelming when busy. I rate the stay as average on the Best Western scale. Some decent restaurants were within walking distance for us. The neighborhood felt safe - but only went out during daylight hours.
We had a nice stay and got to explore Koreatown. Staff were super helpful. Parking is limited and cost $15/day but they will provide valet service at no extra charge if no parking spaces are available. Hotel was very clean and we had no issues.
Great ambiance overall. Room was clean and tidy, thoughtfully stocked with things we just needed and room was easy to get to from the elevator. Breakfast was superb! The lady staff were very attentive in filling in breakfast items. How I wish all hotels are the same way🙂
Have pleasant stay for 4 night, i was stay in second floor. If you like a hard bed like me then you will have a nice sleep. The breakfast is awesome for 2 star hotel thelady in breakfast was so nice. And the ktown area is so fun to explore the restaurants close at midnight so it is crowded and feel more safe at night. They dont have a proper smoking area or ash tray even in the front of hotel
My stay at the hotel was great! The spacious room with two beds was perfect and comfortable, and the included breakfast was delicious. The lobby's snack bar offered both paid options and complimentary water, and the hotel's convenient location near stores and restaurants made it a breeze. Overall, I had a great experience.
Loved the entire staff; desk and security, they reached out to us when our car light was on, due to our trunk not being closed good. Interactions with them were very kind and personable and we would stay at that particular hotel again because of the workers.
I had a wonderful experience staying here. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The parking was convenient. The breakfast had a good variety of options. Everyone I encountered at the hotel was friendly and helpful. I was very pleased.
Koreatown is worth the visit and although its close I'd rather be up close and personal LOL this would be our 4th visit at this particular hotel. The staff is always accommodating, friendly and kind. The parking fee has gone up to $15. Try and get there right at check in, there will be parking! Also, just a friendly reminder if you are here visiting L.A, parking can be tough so plan uber, public transit, bus or train and my personal fav; walking! This time around stayed 3 days 2 nights; we visited Hugh Spa (reviewed*) before check in. For dinner ate at Sun Nong Dan (reviewed*), the next morning had delicious breakfast at the hotel (included) shopped at Galleria Market (Reviewed*), ate lunch at the market a spot called Shanghai Banjum/5 min bowl (reviewed*) enjoyed our last night eating KBBQ at Quarters (reviewed*), woke up and of course had breakfast (included) yesterday was sausage and eggs, Wednesday, bacon and scrambled eggs! Stayed in room 207!
Front desk Staff members are friendly and competent thru checkin process. We always feel welcomed and they do their best to accommodate guest requests if they can annd when anvailable. Awesome customer service!
We chose this hotel to be close to the Universal Studios and were between Holiday Inn and this place. Reviews were great and price was right. At arrival quite late in the evening by pure luck we managed to secure the last spot for the parking which was paid for separately apart from the stay at the hotel. Then at the reception quite rudely we were asked to present our passports. After a long ride with tired children and staying in different other places before this was something new. Also we needed to go out again and place a note in our car that we were allowed to park there which seems very redundant as the parking is private and available for guests and guests only. Arriving to the hall where the room was it was clear that our neighbors love consuming weed. I do know the recreational use is legal in the state of California but having two small children and a place like that definitely is not something I'd recommend to anyone. Then entering the room the place really seemed to have seen better times, especially the carpet. Bathroom mirror had a bright light around it with no chance to turn it off and the heater had a life on its own. Room was freezing in the beginning of January but turning on the heater regardless the temperature level made the room extremely hot. Breakfast is served in a tiny closed room upstairs with a lady as a gatekeeper that will ask for the breakfast card. Again - breakfast is included for all the guests and this is the first place that asks for a proof in this level of hotels. Makes you feel they are doing you a favor of serving a large amount of plastic dishes in an enclosed space. The selection of food includes no fruit or vegetables. So in the end the only thing that is superior to Holiday Inn were the waffles, the rest was a big disappointment and distrust in the reviews.
First of all this hotel is SAFE,SECURE AND CLEAN as falsely claimed by other customers. The staff is courteous, accommodative n well mannered. The receptionist allowed us for early check in.Initially we offered a room with not a good view but as we requested them they gave us decent, smoking free, street view room which has great scenic view n can see HOLLYWOOD SIGN from our window (room no.429).Room was clean with neat n clean bathroom n toilet.Room is equipped with microwave oven, refrigerator and heater.Hotel is centrally situated as far as metro train, buses n other commercial centre is concerned so easily accessible for us.Nearest metro station is Wilshire/Vermont.Complimentari breakfast is sumptuous. So NOTHING TO COMPLAINT about ANYTHING.If anytime in future we happens to visit LA again we will definitely make point to here AGAIN.Best wishes.
They are the BEST! Staff, services excellent!!! The parking attendant is helpful and I feel safer the have someone watching the cars and keep an eye on the cars parked there overnight. I'm also impressed with front desk booking service exceptional, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Room clean. I would choose this Hotel even though I drive a little far. They are the BEST BEST Western branch. I have been to other ones in the past all over the place, but this BEST Western LA mid Town is excellent.
Safe place to stay. They provide Good, clean breakfast. Their parking space required some payment. I book in Best western website. They have Queen bed size which comfortable to sleep for two people. There is a Walgreens across the street where you could buy your personal necessity.
best review in Koreatown, very accesible to all kinds of transporation, The hotel facilties are fine and staff are so friendly and helpful. I been using the hotel every time I'm in town for buisness meetings, pleasure trips and what else can you ask for.
Located within walking distance of Vermont/Wilshire metro, this mid level hotel is convenient, reasonable, clean, and friendly. Short walk to a variety of food options. I stay here often and have never been disappointed.
Although a little bit small, I really liked this hotel alot....so close to everything from a 24-hour Walgreens (where I bought some supplies for my stay), Ralphs/Vons SuperMarket, a mini-Target along 6th St (a 10-minute walk from the hotel). As for the service, Alex (the guy who checked me in) and the 2 other female FDs are very nice and friendly. The hskp girls are friendly too Parking Lot attendant is very awesome. Looking forward to come back to this hotel for my 2024 vacay, possibly July.
Good hotel in a sketchy area which is not the fault of the hotel. The garage entrance is not marked and we drove around the block twice. The office is in the garage. Staff is friendly and attentive. They let us check in early. The night guard in the garage left me feeling relieved about the safety of my car as the garage is open to the public. Quiet hotel. Room configuration is a bit off-centered with the tv having to be mounted at an angle. Bathroom surprisingly clean and well stocked. Excellent, hot breakfast prepared by the staff. Great value for the stay and near many consulates.
We stay at this location as often as we can when we visit LA for plays and other cultural events. The hotel is spotless. The breakfast was better than the average “continental” breakfast offered at many hotels. The staff are friendly.
Come here for every anniversary or dinner date with my partner! Love how close it is to almost every place we visit while we stay! Shatto lanes down the way is always the go to place when we visit La! Breakfast and staff are always so friendly and helpful.
Originally, I sent my partner to this hotel and she loved it so much we decided to come back and enjoy a few days in here. We did book during the week and because we had planned on other means of transportation, we decided to leave our car at the hotel. This particular hotel has a ton of rooms and the parking is limited, there is a $10 a day fee but get there earlier than check in and plan to walk around the wonderful city! Check in was a breeze, they offer sundries near the check in counter; complimentary coffee, water, a gym, in room fridge, microwave and free hot breakfast. The layout of the hotel its self is U shaped with rooms inside which means some of the rooms face each other and others outside. We got room 414, the view was terrible but thankfully we couldn't hear the traffic outside so if you are looking for some peace and quiet and not care about the view then request for an inside room. Breakfast was great, since we were there for 2 days, we got different items each day; fried eggs, sausage, potatoes one day and scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes the next. Staff was really friendly, especially the security guard at night. There are so many restaurants close to the hotel within walking distance! Also, the metro is less than a 5 min walk. We also got room 403 that was superb! Thanks Alex! How likely would I come back or recommend this place 8/10!
The towels were dingy dirty . Bed looked like someone slept in it . Some nasty looking something in a corner in the bathroom. Dirty sink . Heater had a weird smell . Hallway had bad odor . Won't stay here again.
Everything was clean and convenient, good breakfast amenity and parking and security guard. Everyone was friendly and it was a nice stay. Beds were firm but comfy, TVs and internet, safes in closet, room refreshed when wanted. Easy to add extra nights bc we were not sure the length of trip. Made life easier so thank you!
The hotel was safe and the staff was friendly. The desk chair tilted to the left and in 5 minutes would sink from max height to the lowest level. The bed felt like you were sleeping on a thick piece of plywood with a half inch of memory foam on top!
Quite nice facilities and got some much-needed rest. Quiet and peaceful. I was happy with the complimentary breakfast, the service, the attitude of all of the staff. Great location - near to everything I needed to be.
I don't know what the smell in the bathroom is (trash, something rotting,..) but it's something, maybe in the drain pipe? The rest is all just inconvenience: 1st room key didn't work (so back down to the front desk), no shampoo in the room (so back down to the front desk), incredibly loud AC (which if not on means you're going to be slightly sweaty, so choose your preference for sleeping), breakfast room locked (during breakfast hours, while people are already in there, just… because… and it's even hotter in there than the room). Otherwise, fine., but I'd advise staying elsewhere.
The staff was very friendly here. Room was clean, and internet was fast and reliable. However, the parking lot is small, in a busy area of Koreatown. Parking is limited, and first come, first serves. I had to use an off site lot because this Best Western location was already filled.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We came to this area of L.A. to visit a consulate and it was close by and easy to get to. It felt safe and comfortable to stay at this Best Western. We were a bit disappointed it didn't have a pool, but since this was just a quick business trip the cheaper price and convenient location won out!
The hotel is located close to metro and bus. Staff are friendly.. room was spacious but the room we were given had no street view. The sheets were stained and also the towels were stained and had hair on it . The breakfast spread was decent . Overall a standard hotel
Only a 2 night stay here, nice place with one exception. I was upgraded to a corner room, and it was one of the most comfortable and well laid out rooms I've been in. I was surprised at how quite it was. The free breakfast was great, place was clean. Very helpful front desk staff, everything worked fine. Looks like recent furnishings. The exception: parking. A really small garage, I decided to leave my rental there and use other transportation. To their credit they had overnight security in the garage. The area felt safe to me, a couple of Asian restaurants across the street. Just the parking, otherwise quite good.
The hotel is well positioned for travelers that want to be able to access LA tourist sites, especially for those who do not want to rent a car. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Vermont and Wilshire Metro stop, putting much of LA at your fingertips. It is is with walking distance (1-2 blocks) of numerous restaurants and even a coin-op laundry. The hotel provides all that you need in terms of room convenience expectations (i.e, refrigerator, microwave, etc.) as well as a full breakfast facility with a respectable diversity of choices. Rooms I've had here have been surprisingly quiet for such an urban location. Parking has numerous large spots (as opposed to 'compact' spots). I've stayed at this hotel twice now and it is my "go-to" for this area of metro LA for convenience and a solid performance on the basics that you need after a day of running around the city.
Good spacious room with firm comfortable beds. Location is good with lots of nice places to eat nearby. Breakfast has a good variety of items. Staff are overall helpful and friendly. There are free coffee, tea and water for guests at the lobby. There is also a sufficiently well-equipped gym. Free parking is available within the hotel grounds. We enjoyed our stay.
We had driven for almost 24hrs non stop and we were so weary from our journey. We hadn't indicated time of arrival but we happened to arrive early morning. We were checked in at no extra charge and also given breakfast FOC! We were impressed by the whole experience and we will definitely stay there when we are in LA! Kudos
Rooms are very dusty. Parking is not as expected. Breakfast was cold. Bedding is thin. AC unit made dusty room reaction hard to sleep - congestion, itchy throat. I do not plan to stay here again nor would I recommend it to others.
The hotel is close to metro station Wilshire / Vermont, which provides excellent connections to Hollywood, Downtown LA, and many bus stops to got to Griffith Observatory, La Brea with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Farmers Market. The rooms have much space, a clean and functional bathroom. WiFi is available everywhere in the hotel. The breakfast is adequate. The service nice and kindly.
The staff at this location is the best in the hospitality industry. Everyone does their job and they do it well. Front desk staff is polite and efficient. Our rooms were amazingly clean and well maintained for what I was expecting at this price point. The common areas were also very well maintained with beautiful fresh flowers on the tables by the elevators and lobby. Parking was clean, safe, and convenient (and soooo affordable). They only drawback was the noise from other rooms. If those guests are inconsiderate your stay can be embarrassing and miserable. This is not the fault of the staff. It's the rude guests and anyone who approved the design and building of the hotel. They shouldn't have gone so cheap on the materials to better control the sound between rooms. The staff makes this an excellent place to stay. They represent the brand very well and should be rewarded for their hard work. Sleep quality was rated poor only for this stay. Our neighbors next door were horrible-this is not a comment on the staff.
great location in mid LA. I was concerned about the parking since they offer parking but only on a first come, first serve basis. If the parking lot is full, there is a security guard on duty that will make sure to park your car for you. it is well worth it and only cost $10 per day for parking. clean room, great breakfast
This is a standard BW hotel not a Plus. The facility is dated and needs a refresh. The Lobby is underwhelming. the rooms are 10 years old. Bathrooms are small and the shower heads are low. the breakfast is industrial like, very plain. There is no recycling options for any refuse. And the website said free parking and when we got there, it was not free.
I have stayed in this hotel probably over 20 times in the past 2-3 years for business. It WAS a good experience until today. I checked in and was told my reservation was changed. Hence my hotel reservation was shortened from the original 3 days to 1 day. I did not call to authorize any change in reservation. Nor I received any updates via email regarding this change. Front desk offered no apologies. Worst customer service I have received at this hotel. Told me the type of room I requested was no longer available. This raised a big security concern in the reservation system. Who had overridden my reservation without my consent? Does that mean that person who had changed my reservation gave away the room type I requested? While I don't expect hotels to be perfect, at the very least I would expect an apology. There are a lot of choices in alps Angeles. Stay somewhere else.
I wanted mid-town because it was central to all of the things I wanted to do, and I'd lived in the area years ago, so felt it was a relatively safe area. The parking garage is small, tight spaces, maybe about 20 spaces? When I pulled in, the parking attendant jumped up and pointed to a spot to take. Since the garage is so small, I asked what happened if the spots are all gone when we came back each night? He said he'd valet park. The two desk clerks were fine, not outgoing or friendly, but pleasant and efficient. Everything seemed really clean, in the lobby and the room. Everything in working order. I realize now the A.C. was pretty quiet, too. It wasn't like some places where every time it turns on, it makes so much noise it wakes you up. Didn't even notice it, which is excellent. The hallway doors are very loud when people let them slam, which everyone does. It'd be nice if at check-in, the clerks would ask guests to please not let the doors slam. That was our ONLY issue, with the room right next to us. As of our visit (2/18 - 21) they were serving the full, hot breakfast. Til 10a, which is really nice. They are NOT doing housekeeping during your stay, which they posted in the lobby, so you need to ask for additional toiletries, etc. as you need them. Everything was perfect, as described and what I expected. Would stay there again.
This hotel was an excellent choice for our trip to LA Children's Hospital. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming. It was clean and well lite. Check in was very quick. The staff helped me to get our luggage and medical equipment to our room. (Traveling with my daughter who uses a wheel chair) Hallways and our room was clean and odor free. Linens were clean and not stained. Bed was comfortable. The view from window was not the best, but the hotel has zero control over that. The breakfast bar on the 5 floor was a 10. Lots of hot and cold items to choose from. Area was well stocked clean. Table was wiped and disinfected as people finished. The only issue I had was the disability parking. They offer two spots that run along side of a brick wall on passenger side. So I was unable to the wheelchair ramp out for use as it would have hit the wall. This made me have to pick my daughter and her wheelchair up together and put into van. Not an easy task with a sixteen year old quadriplegic. I would recommend this hotel. If disability parking were more accessable I would give the hotel a 5 star rating. I need to give it a 4 star due to parking issues.
I had to pick up my sister from Union Station at 8am...Living in San Diego, staying overnight was the best option for me. I got up, went to the train, picked up my sister and brought her back to the hotel to wait for traffic to clear. We had breakfast (which was really good) and at 11 am were able to have a quiet ride home. Not the closest hotel...but I felt very safe and not a far ride to the train station.
My stay here on December 13, 2021 was disappointing to say the least! TL;DR: Power outage occurred where guests were not checked up on, guests were told to find a different accommodation on their own dime, and trying to resolve issues with this management team and hotel brand does not work. In the early evening, the power had gone out and there were no lights nor were the elevators and key fobs working. This hotel does not have any backup power generators (not sure if this is common but I would imagine most hotels have this in the event a similar issue were to occur). It left all guests staying at this hotel wondering what was going on and if it was going to be temporary. Instead of having staff check in with their guests to make sure they are okay, everyone had to make their way down to the front desk to ask what was going on who were then told that the outage was indefinite and if they did not want to stay there anymore, they could check out and find different accommodations. At the time, this left my group and I stranded and scrambling to try to find a last minute hotel where we ended up paying a premium as a result. We decided to stay at a Marriott property instead and in my opinion, it was way better in terms of service and interior design. When I came down to try to check out, there was a hostile situation between Danny Hyun, the general manager, and a group of guests over a charge dispute. The police was called and as the situation got more heated I told the front desk staff I was checking out but was told that I would need to speak with Danny as I was mistakenly issued a second room from the manual check-in process as one of my group members had already checked in (this error would have been caught if their computer systems were operational but they had to manually check individuals in due to the lack of electricity). I didn't want to stay back to talk to management because the situation was actually getting dangerous where loud yelling and threats were being uttered, it might've taken an hour before I could resolve things with Danny as he was dealing with the police, and it was pitch dark. So in light of this, I thought I would just call later to try to rectify the error. However, when I called Best Western Corporate, they said that the issuance of a refund is not within their power but delegated at the hotel management level. When I tried to call Danny to explain things, he kept cutting me off during our conversation and before hanging up on me, he said that he will not be issuing me a refund because the check out of the second room did not occur. Obviously, not the result I wanted but the issue I had with this entire situation is that any reasonable management team would at the very least try to reaccommodate their guests at a partner property and perhaps try to rectify the issue with some small token of apology like a voucher for a future stay. However, none of this occurred and the consequences of a disaster was left for their guests to bear. The second issue I wanted to make note of is who would stay at a hotel where there was 0 power and pay regular price for this? This should be obvious to management that no reasonable team should charge their guests for this type of stay (or in my case, refuse a refund with the argument being that my group member could've stayed at the hotel as there was no check out indicated for the misissued second room). Lastly, with Best Western properties, if the power of offering a refund is given to hotel management and there is a dispute on what the correct result should be, then who would be the third party that arbitrates this if not for the folks at the corporate office? This stay left me frustrated and gave me the impression that management were trying to recoup their losses as a result of the power outage at the expense of their customers. (I also drove back around to the property after Korean BBQ that night at around 1 am and the power was still out at the hotel.) The takeaway for me is that in spite of choosing this property for it's location close to Koreatown, I should have just stuck with my comfortable Marriott's for they have never let me down with their hospitable service and never once during all my stays there was I ever told to "find my own way" when dealing with an inconvenience that occurred on their property. (Sorry for the poor quality of the photo uploads; it was pitch black in the room, hallways and the front desk where even my iPhone 11 pro was having a tough time with the lighting) Danny - feel free to contact me if you have a disagreement on what has been presented.
Was told a $20 prepaid card would be sent to my house. Turns out its just a credit in a email to be used for the next time you stay at hotel. Could have used my AAA discount but was told this was a better deal.
All my encounters with the staff members, from front desk to breakfast to housekeeping, no one seemed all that welcoming or inviting or caring. However thats not a deal breaker for me. The internet was terrible I didn't use it. But everything else was up to par. Nice breakfast with good options, and clean room with everything in working order. Can't say that i was blown away, but I definitely wasn't disappointed.
If I had a specific reason to stay close to downtown and the Wilshire District, I might stay here. I wouldn't walk around the neighborhood at night. In a short time, you can be at Olvera Street, Phillipe's, the different districts; and with a little further drive, you can be in West Los Angeles or Santa Monica. I didn't like the required security deposit which I have never ever been asked for at a BW in forty years of being a customer. Our phones would to connect the their wifi network because it unsecured.
Great location in Korea town, nice clean rooms, walking distance to a Metro stop and good restaurants all around the hotel. Need to upgrade some room features like shower heads, but otherwise very good hotel for a short or long term stay.
Front desk clerk took ten minutes to check in me, because he could spell neither my last or first name correctly. I had to give him the confirmation # so he could look up my reservation. Then he miraculously found my reservation which matched my name on my driver license exactly. IDIOT !!!! Stay away. The parking sucks, the rooms are antiquated and small. Not worth the money you think you're saving. They also charged me $100 incidental fee just in case. Just in case what? I steal the F'n microwave??? They have my credit card on file!!! WTF !!!! I'm a BW elite member and they are typically very good. Not this one !!!
This location visually looks nice and appears like a good choice considering downtown can be really dangerous and sketchy at night. My overall stay was fine, and my room was relatively clean. However, there were some major problems with my stay that soured my on ever coming back here. 1. The website says there is free parking. What they don't say is that there are 90 rooms and only 40 parking spots. The desk clerk told me that it was first come first serve. It was only 830 and the lot was full, with zero chance of any spots opening up since they give up passes for the entire night. I had to find street parking in downtown LA on a weekend and risk my car being broken in to. 2. I paid for a king-size bed. I wasn't told until after I checked in and was leaving that they did not have any king-size beds and instead I would have a room with two queens. I should have been told this while I was checking in, not as I was about to get on the elevator. 3. I used the restroom while getting settled into my room and discovered the toilet was clogged from a previous guest. I went downstairs and informed the desk clerk of the situation. The desk clerk informed a manager, who went into a closet and brought me a used plunger inside a poop-stained plastic bag. The manager told me I would have to fix it myself. I asked the manager if she seriously expected me to unclog the toilet of a room I just checked into. She didn't respond and just stared at me. I had no choice but to use this gross plunger to make my toilet usable again. Given these three things, I will never be staying at this location again, nor will I be staying at a Best Western again. I can look past the first two occurrences, but the third is completely unacceptable.
We've been staying at bw for over 3-4 years now. They're friendly clean and convenient. We love their breakfast but things have changed since Covid. I hope once it's all over they can offer it again. It's a walk from everything. Best part it's in Ktown.
hotel great. neighborhood surroundings dangerous. The hotel staff were great, and the rooms are very clean, and the decor was really nice. The neighborhood is the problem. my car was trashed when i came out the next day.
We had a very positive experience staying at the Best Western Plus LA Mid-Town Hotel. We had stayed here in the past and found that the property was consistent with our previous stay. Highly recommend
I lost my wallet. I needed to be in la for a family emergency. I got my mom to book me a room at this best western. The clerk told me I couldn't book the room without a card. I found another establishment more accommodating that worked with me. Never doing business with this location. Unhelpful!
This was our first time staying at this location. The room was your standard BW Plus room. Comfy beds, clean bathroom, microwave, refrigerator, and a decent flat screen tv. Website said full breakfast but it was a grab n go bag with microwaveable food. Worst frozen burrito I've ever had. Obviously from Covid. The location is absolutely awful. In the middle of the hood in Korea town. Staff was very nice when they were actually at the desk. Plenty of places to eat and shop close by, but stay inside at night. Terrible homeless problem in this area. Very sad. I will never stay here again, but if you just need a place to rest your head for the night, this place isn't bad.
Best Western Plus LA Midtown was great. Especially if you doing for a short trip. The price is affdorable. Room is so clean. I would definitely stay here again in the future. I had a problem when I was there, other guest made really loud noise and cause the problem. But the hotel acted really fast by called the security and cops.
We have stayed here twice in the past year. The location is convenient to central LA and the property is clean and well managed. The staff is friendly and the breakfast has many options and food is plentiful. They recently added a daily parking fee but it is reasonable for LA. Highly recommended.
The hotel was very clean and with nicely appointed decorations. Location was ideal for us because of visiting family in KoreaTown. The additional fee for parking was well worth it as you will have difficulty finding parking elsewhere.
LA is suffering from a terrible homeless population. The sidewalks are filled with people in tents, if they are lucky to have one, or just lying on the ground. Unfortunately, they are all around this area. This hotel is good. My husband and I drove to LA for a weekend visit with family who live nearby. If you need a place to stay in midtown, I recommend this hotel. They charge $10 per night for parking, but it is secure and well worth it. Parking is difficult to find in the area. Staff were warm and welcoming. I completed the on-line check in and requested parking in disabled spot and a room near elevator as I use a cane when I walk. I did get the parking, paying the fee of course, but the room was almost at the end of a long corridor. I didn't complain as I was exhausted from a long drive, and it was only for 2 nights. The view overlooked the alley, but it was quiet. The bed in the room was exceptionally high for me, about 31 inches (my bed is at 25 inches high), and I asked for a step stool or bench. I was immediately accommodated and was handed a folding step stool that is used by cleaning staff. That worked fine. I really appreciated the updated furnishings. Everything was impeccably clean in the room. The linens looked and smelled clean and fresh. Finally, the best thing at this hotel is the breakfast included with your stay. They have a variety of hot and cold foods: i.e., pancake and waffle maker, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, cereal, assorted bread and pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit. All served in a very clean room, refreshed by staff on a frequent basis, and tables cleared and cleaned quickly. There is a Walgreens a block away if you need something. Lots of restaurants, too.
Staff was friendly. Arrived to the hotel late at night and we were checked in pretty quickly. The breakfast was better than expected. We ate breakfast there all 3 days. The rooms were clean. I was glad we had no problems with the internet working. Overall good stay.
Not recommended. Hotel stinks. Front desk not supportive Do not provide receipts for market place purchases and has to be paid in cash Do not accept travel cards if you are having forex cards Rooms are average and not worth the money Lukewarm water in shower, in my 14 days stay I got hot water only couple of days
This was second stay at this hotel and better this time than the last. Staff is so friendly, rooms are nice, breakfast is very good but watch out for parking. Spaces are few and cramped but they do have security.
After searching extensively for an option near The Wiltern I finally selected this property. I was a little apprehensive about being able to find a parking spot every day for my large truck based on previous reviews. However, when I arrived I was pleased to discover the property had implemented a $10/day parking fee that guaranteed you a spot in the garage. They now give out parking permits and only hand out as many as there are spots. I was VERY happy to pay $10/day for my short stay to ensure this ease of access to a spot. The first night I walked around the area around the hotel by myself and felt very safe. It's a quick walk to MANY eateries, many of them offering vegan options, which was perfect for me. The room and amenities are exactly as pictured, breakfast had vegan options, and we had no issues with the internet during our stay. In all, I would definitely use this property again in the future. Great value for money.
This is a very well maintained hotel in the heart of Chinatown. While it looks inauspicious from the outside, and has a bizarre open air front courtyard/entrance, the rooms and staff are top notch, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the rates are very reasonable for Downtown Los Angeles. Recommended!!!
Chose this hotel for value. Parking at the hotel is limited but night security will double park your car and keep your key overnight. I was in LA for leisure and have never stayed in Korea Town. Parking in Korea Town is difficult (paid parking, parking garages, and valet) so I won't return to stay in this area. Room had poor ventilation and smelled humid but the ac helped. The water doesn't get hot just warm (warm enough I just prefer hot) I think they have a cap on the water temp. and shower knob can't be turned past warm. TV didn't work. Staff was willing to address the issue during my stay but because my stay was short and to avoid having staff in and out while I was gone, I informed them so they can address after I checked out. Room was clean and staff friendly.
I enjoyed my stay. Parking at night can be a little tight and you have to leave your keys with the parking attendants. Also, I found hair in my sheets and it be nice if non-pork meat options could be added to the breakfast. Other than that, this was a perfect stay. I will be returning on my next visit.
There is not much to the hotel other than the rooms. Common areas were clean and included a small gym, lobby with 24 hour coffee and tea service, and a breakfast room on the fifth floor. Hall ways were well-lit and clean. The breakfast offering (free with staff) was ample and fresh. It included, in addition to the continental choices, mini-cheese omelets, tater tots, sausage, bacon, pancakes and waffles. The breakfast room is bright and airy with views of town. The parking lot is small, but the spaces are actually mostly full-size. I was happy to find that the parking area was attended overnight by a guard. The room was clean, well-appointed, with modern furnishing. Our queen-double had a microwave and refrigerator. The room faced a small alley with the other side of the hotel facing the window. If you get one of these interior facing rooms, you are unlikely to want to the window open. On the other hand, our room was quiet silent since it faced away from the street corner. (very) Minor complaints include: slow charging speed for electronics and low water water pressure (not unusual for modern hotels in large cities). A big selling point is that this hotel is a 5 minute walk to a red/purple transit station making other popular locations easily accessible via MTA. There is near-by Denny's and IHOP and gas/station convenience store. I was only here one night and would happily stay at this location again.
Very reasonable price for the location in LA, Free parking but limited if garage is full they have an attendent to park car for you. Very good Breakfast selection. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly.
The hotel and room was clean and comfy. Everything in the room worked. It's a good place if you are doing business in the area. This is my 2nd time staying at this hotel both times on a Sunday Night - Parking was an issue the first time and again Parking seems to be the only drawback on this hotel. You have to get to the hotel early enough and not move your car as your spot will more than likely be gone when you come back. Parking is why I rated the hotel as average but the staff and interior is more like a B grade.
Nice property with covered parking, easy to locate and enjoyable. We were close to our activities and had wonderful family visits. Our corner room had a great view, plenty of room and best of all the Hallmark Channel to end the night. Thanks for a great stay.
Parking is a disaster. Not enough parking. You will be forced to park on streets - driving around for an hour trying to find a spot. Then you must deal with parking meters and street usage rules. It is awful. You will be sorry you stayed here.
We stayed here while visiting our USC Freshman. It was 3 miles away, but with traffic, about 20 minutes. Free parking is great, limited, but worked out fine. The breakfast was abundant and good variety. The ladies were restocking constantly. The rooms are clean, and remodeled. The one downside was the view of the room 10 feet across from me. I will stay here again.
My family often stays here when visiting our college student at USC. It is an affordable option in downtown LA. Free covered parking. Good breakfast included. Clean hotel. Nice people run the front desk. Friendly breakfast staff and cleaning crew.
We spent a three night weekend in Best Western Plus LA Mid-Town Hotel, and it was perfect for what we intended to do on our trip. We primarily visited around K-town, Little Tokyo, and Beverley Hills (Melrose Ave). This hotel is conveniently located between all of it. We never had to drive on the freeway once all weekend. When staying in Los Angeles, the two main amenities we look for are parking and AC. This location had both! Granted the parking is limited, and at night the garage double parks the vehicles due to lack of space. There is a parking lot attendant on staff later in the night, and he helps juggle cars around if you need to get out once the majority of the hotel guests have turned in for the night. The double Queen room comfortably fits a family of 4 adults. Though our "view" out the window was directly into another room about 10 feet away. The mini refrigerator was nice to have with all of the leftovers we brought home every day.
I like small hotels. This one is small, nice and cozy. Staff was friendly and helpful. They have free breakfast which is a huge plus for me. Rooms are clean . Not big but you can find everything you need there.
Friendly staff always willing to answer any questions about the area. Very clean hotel. Breakfast was nice would of been nice for a bit of a change as same every day. Would defo stay again. Great location with loads of places to eat out very close by
Worst experience. Staff unfriendly. Location was not disclosed well. Breakfast was limited, equipment was inoperable, cleanliness was desired. Property did not match internet profile. Not a pleasurable experience
The first time I stayed in the hotel in Sep 2019, there was marijuana smell in the corridor. Americans take it as a snack, but I find the smell offensive. The corridor ventilation was practically non-existing, and the smell was still there the next day. Internet was ok that night. The wifi signal, however, was too poor to have any data transmission 2 nights ago. Breakfast was standard American breakfast. It is all-you-can-eat, but nothing exciting.
It was just to loud ! We couldn't sleep peacefully . We could here all the noise outside of the hotel. The hotel is located in Korean town. We would look up restaurants or places to go eat near by or within walking distance. Eighty to eighty five percent were Korean .
1. Good location - at the heart of Koreatown where you can grab foods easily and one block away from metro station and metro bus rapid stop 2. Breakfast included - not a great variety of choices but all are delicious 3. Fitness center - not only treadmills and exercise bikes but free weights and cable machine
I was there visiting some friends and watching a sporting event. You're not going to find a nicer staff. They were quite nice and accommodating. The room was clean for the most part. Surprisingly, it was relatively quiet. The not so good. It was a challenge to get the remote for the tv to work. I purchased batteries myself and still felt like I had to play twister with my wrist to get it to change the channel. The ice machine stopped working one day (happens I guess). The ironing board was faulty and I had to prop the legs between two items to keep it from falling. Last, there are some homeless people/camps around. It just sucks when you're walking around and it smells like an open urinal every other corner. There is a safe in the room but you have to pay to use it. If you can afford better, look into it. But it wasn't bad either. If you are going to a sporting event at the coliseum, leave an hour and a half early (yes, it's only 3 miles away).
First off: the location of this hotel is great. You're in the middle of metropolitan Los Angeles without all the scariness. It's in a 'financial district' so there's a number of large tall building around, so it cuts down on the number of homeless people walking around (there's still some, but not like downtown - my wife said that she felt safe - which is quite a compliment). It's in the Korean part of LA. I got a corner room for my family - it was clean and spacious - the A/C worked well - we were comfortable. Very happy with that. Now, 2 issues: 1) Parking there is terrible-the only parking available is the tiny space that is below the main part of the hotel on the street level. It's first-come, first served, so if you get here after 5 or 6, you may not get a spot under the hotel, which means you have to park else - on the street or in a lot somewhere that will cost you money. They should make an agreement with a lot that is close by, to be their overflow lot. This issue is a pretty serious problem for people who are not familiar with the area. The staff behind the front desk make me feel that's it's my problem (no parking) not theirs. A hotel SHOULD provide one space for each hotel room. This policy is unacceptable. 2nd issue: Breakfast: I took my family up to the 5th floor for breakfast and it was completely packed - we barely got in and when we saw that there were no tables available, we just left and went a Jack-in-the-Box that was within walking distance. It's pretty disappointing to tell your child that we're going to have a nice breakfast, and then have to tell him that we're not having breakfast at all.
The people were great and the room were really pretty and nicely done. I went for a court hearing the next day and they really helped min. The stress before hand. They smiles and understanding was outstanding
The area surrounding the hotel was sketch, but the hotel sticks out because it is a pretty good looking building. I like that the parking lot is under the hotel and seems secure. I came pretty late at night and there was security both times I came. The guards were overweight, but at least someone had eyes on the cars and coming/goings at night. I didn't bring a car, and the parking lot was tight, but overall parking situation was good. The elevator is SLOW so I ended up taking the stairs my whole stay. Thankfully the staircase is clean and free of bad smells.
Stayed 4 nights. First time to LA. Hotel and rooms were very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There was a homeless camp of sorts near the hotel but it was not an issue. Everyone was very respectful. Felt safe. Thank you for a great stay.
NO PARKING! Even though the site says, "FREE PARKING", they SEVERELY overbook the hotel and there is NOT ENOUGH PARKING!!!! THEY ALSO BLOCK THE GARAGE WITH CARS SO YOU CAN'T ACCESS THE ENTRANCE RAMPS WITH AN ADA VEHICLE OR WHEELCHAIR!!!! Hotel has 90 rooms and only 38 parking spaces! When asked about severe lack of parking, the Front Desk Clerk responded, "It's first come, first served." I asked if this corporate tagline was posted on their website, she said, "I think so." (It is not). This makes it especially worse for ADA/Handicapped drivers. When asked about ADA parking, the Security Guard/Garage Tenant responded, "Yeah, we full. Sorry. You can try to find something around the block." Mid-town L.A. is not a safe or clean place. Lots of filthy, smelly homeless camps around the property. Upon check-in, the desk clerk ASKED FOR PAPERWORK AND/OR CERTIFICATION FOR OUR SERVICE DOG...A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL ADA LAW! The city needs to step up and require this property to expand parking or limit number of rooms rented. MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO IMMEDIATELY TRAIN THEIR ENTIRE STAFF ON ADA LAW, WHEELCHAIR ACCESS AND SERVICE ANIMAL LAW. Upon entering the room, the shades were open with no A/C and the room was stifling hot, easily 90+ degrees. A/C took close to 2 hours to cool down. Shower had mildew under and around the ADA bars. Water leaked across the floor and out the bathroom door onto the carpet. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!
Don't go here if you plan on bringing a car. There are limited spots and then there is a valet/security who will have to block all the cars in the garage to fit a few more cars in. If you come in later in the night you'll be out of luck and the valet/security guard doesn't care. You have to look for parking on the street. In the morning they'll start moving cars onto the street where there is no security watching because they leave for the day, so your car may or may not get broken into. Since the security/valet is gone during the day, you have to pick up your keys at the front desk. Of course, no one tells you all of this so you might be waiting at the valet desk for a bit wondering why you don't see your car in the garage before going to the front desk to see what's going on. When we arrived we drove in through the “wrong” entrance. The valet wouldn't take my keys and insisted that I had to back out and drive around the block to go into the other garage entrance. Our last night there, there actually was some space for my car, but the valet refused to take the keys so I had to find parking on the street. Why even have a valet if they refuse to do the basic functions of the job?! The next day we came back around 5pm to clean up before dinner. Our room was not yet cleaned. At 5pm. We had to call for new towels. The cleaning lady came by and she was very nice but we had to refuse cleaning and just take new towels because we needed to shower and get ready. There is a pretty decent free hot breakfast, as far as hotels go. It starts at 7AM. It would be better if it started at 6AM, though.
You can't beat the location and value of this Best Western! Everything from the lobby to the room was very clean. The free breakfast had everything: eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, breads and pastries, yogurt, oats, waffle iron... Anything you would want for breakfast. There was also free teas and water available in the lobby at all times. I didn't rent a car so I'm not sure how difficult parking is but I know there is parking on the first level under the actual hotel. Front desk staff was very helpful and nice. Small fitness room across from the lobby. Located Right in Koreatown and lyfts/Ubers are never more than a minute or two away.
this place is amazing, clean friendly and great continental breakfast. the only problem is parking but i was forewarned when i made my reservation and check in and for that reason i can not ding them on review. also they will help you with parking if its full.
The room itself was very nice, with good decor. Breakfast was above average for " free" breakfast. Good selection and service. All to the LA metro Red line was only a block which can take you downtown or to Universal studios much quicker than a car. Be warned, parking is "First come, first served". We had an issue with out or television, reported it three times, and it was never assessed
The room was comfortable and fairly quiet (faced a back alley), and the wifi worked well. A bit of confusion on check-in (I was part of a group, with a group rate), but it was straightened out. There is a hot breakfast with a limited number of healthy options. The front door is a little hard to find (look for the archway on what appears to lead to a parking garage). .
Hotel was very accommodating with meeting medical needs . Prompt - courteous check in and out. Clean . 2 adults , plenty of room. Convenient to the area we were visiting. Only drawback was the time from airport
The hotel rooms were a good size and the staff pleasant. The breakfast was reasonable but the fruit often ran out. Has a small clean functional gym. There's plenty of parking if you have a vehicle. The surrounding area has a lot of homeless people around who can become a little aggressive in the evening. The metro station is about 5 minutes walk away and there are plenty of food places around.
I arrived at this hotel very tired, and without a reservation. All I wanted was a clean comfortable room, at a reasonable rate. The gentleman at the front desk gave me all the right answers. The room was neat and tidy; the Wi-Fi was fast, and the king bed was very comfortable. The flatscreen TV had a nice clear picture with lots of channels. I was here for one night to completely unwind from my business trip. I was severely jetlagged and I did not want a lot of hassles. The hotel is located in the Wilshire Boulevard area of Los Angeles, so parking is at a minimum. I was very happy there was free parking located underneath the building. Everything about this photo was what I needed, when I needed it. Thank You Best Western !!
Very good place for us. We had a good time finding good accommodation around Korea Town. The breakfast menu was also good and changed every day. It is a good place for room price.I will stay here next time I visit LA.
Stayed 4 nights and this Hotel was perfect for us. Parking and Breakfast was included and that saved time to tour the city as well as saved us about $40 a day. The breakfast had eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, cereal, fruit, bagels, pastries and a nice sit down atmosphere. Thank be stayed at $200 a night hotels that wasn't near as good as this one. We were able to check in early and Alex was polite, friendly and as helpful as he could be. The room was clean and very comfortable. Loved having a refrigerator and microwave. We were never more that 25 minutes from where we wanted to be except for times of heavy traffic. There are many places to eat within a five minute walk and 2 grocery stores within a mile. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here any time I visit LA and very happy and satisfied with everything. I read some reviews that complained about parking, but I had no issue the 4 nights I stayed. Great Deal and Great Hotel!
By far the most affordable option for the area that was clean safe and comfortable. I will stay here every time I come to DTLA. Super clean and roomy. Breakfast was good. parking is free which is a big plus.
Staff is always friendly and professional. Alex from front desk allowed me an early check in and late check out during my stay. I always enjoy the breakfast hotel serves daily. Property is also located in a very quiet area.
Very good accomodation, clean room and friendly stuff. We appreciate early morning check-in without earlier request and surcharge. Since the public transportation in LA is not the best, the biggest advantage of the hotel is proximity of the subway station.
I arrived early and was allowed to check in before the designated time. My room was clean and the bed and pillows were fantastic. Breakfast was hot and you have a choice of bacon, sausage, egg, bread, pastries, variety of juices, coffee, waffles, oatmeal. The parking is indoors with security available. The fresh flowers made it so special. I would stay again...
I would definitely stay here again. The room was clean, bathroom clean and the breakfast was pretty good. Nice selection to choose from. We had 2 queen beds that were very comfortable. Parking is limited.
Perfect place to stay in the middle of everything. Only downside was the shower head sucked. Taking a shower from a drizzle of water is difficult. They definitely need new shower heads. Other than that, it was worth the price. Very comfy bed, and good free breakfast.
Hotel was very convenient for a great dinner in Korea Town followed by an event at the Staples Center. Also great location to see family in Hollywood the next morning. Hotel was clean and efficient. Nothing fancy but for the price it was exactly what you'd expect. Plenty of room for four of us - the room had two queen beds. We stayed one night. It was great to avoid too much time in the car - we were 10 mins from everywhere we needed to be.
This was a wonderful stay. Breakfast was very well done the room was really clean. No complaints here. Highly recommend this hotel to stay. Prices are very reasonable and you don't have to pay for parking.
Room and service was great, however, the breakfast was not good and eating space was small. Mostly wanted to eat breakfast somewhere else. Room was very comfortable and very clean. If you are driving, the paring garage is small and tight. If you arrive late, car will be parked on the street.
I had never visited Los Angeles before so learning about the different parts of the city was new to me. I chose this Best Western Plus due to its reputation, location close to downtown, and most importantly, its price. The hotel sits right on the corner New Hampshire Avenue and 6th Street, making it easy for Lyft and Uber pick ups and drop offs. The front desk attendants were very nice and easily granted us a late check out when we asked. A great asset of this hotel is its walking distance to the Wilshire/Vermont metro station. From here you can easily get to downtown LA and Union Station, or more west out towards Hollywood. The most appealing part of this Best Western Plus is its free breakfast. There were so many options to choose: from fresh bacon and scrambled eggs, to bagels and English muffins, to soymilk and mini Nutella packets. It was honestly one of the most excellent hotel breakfasts I've ever experienced. This hotel is worth it alone just for the breakfast because you can fuel up for the day before going out to explore the city. I can't say enough good things about this Best Western Plus and I cannot wait to visit Los Angeles again because I know I will be staying at this hotel.
This hotel is fine. It was clean and close to where I needed to be for business. I chose this particular hotel based on the free self parking. I was traveling alone and knew I would be getting back late. When I got back to the hotel there was NO parking available on site. I had to park a block away and walk past homeless people. I didn't feel comfortable.
The Hotel was really near our point of business. It was near to a lot of good to excellent Korean and Japanese restaurants. The room were very spacious and the bed was really nice, although it was a little bit high for me. It was also nice that me and my coworker got rooms that were near to each other making it less of a hassle to coordinate business plans and agenda
I checked my stepmom, Barb, into the Best Western at 10 pm on December 27, 2018. As per hotel policy, I was allowed to valet park my vehicle on the premises. The driver's side interior door handle was already damaged when I left it with the valet, but the driver's side exterior door handle was intact and working properly. All of the car windows were fully raised. The next morning at 10:45 am, Barb and I went to my car in the lot. It had been moved to another spot. I immediately noticed that my driver's side exterior car door handle was missing, rendering the door unusable and forcing me to enter my car by climbing over the passenger seat. In addition, all the doors were unlocked the driver's side rear window was rolled down. Barb and I immediately reported this to the two employees working at the front desk. The man in line behind us reported that someone had stolen the front plate off his rental car, which was parked next to my car. The employees spoke to the manager, Danny Hyun, and reported that he would review the security camera footage and speak to the security guard on duty during the night to discover what happened to the cars. In the meantime, I was told to contact the security guard's company, Simon Security Services Patrol Inc, and speak to Joevany A. Guevara for compensation. The manager never spoke to me or Barb directly, despite walking past us several times and being only feet away from us in the next room. I spoke twice with Joevany and made arrangements to meet with him at 4 pm on December 28, 2018 at the hotel so he could inspect my car. I arrived at 3:50 pm. After waiting for nearly an hour, I asked the front desk what happened. They said Joevany arrived at 3 pm, but as I was not there, he left with the promise to return later in the evening. Barb and I canceled plans in order to be at the hotel to see him, but he never returned. He has since not answered my calls or returned my messages. On the 29th, I left word with another employee at the front desk. I gave him my contact information to pass along to the manager and asked to set a meeting with the manager. Barb asked that $200 be taken off her hotel bill to cover the cost of repairs. The employee said he would look into it. I left my phone on all day, but never received a call or text from anyone at the hotel. On the 30th, Barb spoke to a front desk employee who said the manager would not reduce the bill until he could determine who was at fault: the hotel or the security guard. He didn't want to pay for the damage and was hoping to foist it off to the unresponsive security company. Barb then accompanied me to the front desk where I asked for the corporate customer service number to submit a complaint. I also informed the employee I had complained to the Better Business Bureau and Best Western corporate and was perfectly fine taking the matter to small claims court. I asked her to pass that information to the manager along with my contact information yet again. However, I still didn't hear back from the manager. Today, the 31st, before Barb checked out of the hotel, we finally saw the manager, Danny, at the front desk and spoke with him. He told us the security company needs to pay for it. He dialed Joevany and handed the phone to us. Joevany admitted the guard broke the exterior door handle, but falsely claimed that it only broke because the inside was broken. Had he kept the appointment I set with him, he would have seen for himself that the unlocking mechanism still works, but the plastic piece that allows you to get a grip on the handle and pull was broken off. It's not connected to the inside handle. Joevany was rude and refused to pay, saying he would see me in court instead. I later returned to the hotel and made Danny look at the damage. He said he understood, but didn't want to be out the money for repairs. Apparently, he thinks it's acceptable for me to be out the money instead. I warned him he hadn't heard the last of this, and he hasn't. The manager's refusal to deal with this, despite being given ample time and opportunities to do so, is rude, unprofessional, and unacceptable. He's the one that hired security. It's his job to interface with them, not hand the phone to me to deal with it, and then blow me off. It's called the hospitality industry for a reason. Having worked in it myself, I know that sometimes you just have to be out the money in order to take care of the customer. At the very least, be willing to speak with me immediately and not send out your powerless employees to do it for you. I need to be compensated for this immediately in order to have it fixed. I can't afford it otherwise as I live on a very tight budget. It's also taken time and enjoyment away from our vacation. Don't waste your time staying at a place that doesn't care for its guests. Horrible.
I almost didn't book this hotel after reading the reviews but I have to honestly say my stay here was EXCELLENT! The hotel happened to be convenient for me as I needed to be in the area on business in Wilshire. First, let me say that they have limited parking which seemed to be a major issue for some reviewers. I never had a problem with parking for the 3 nights I stayed but I also was in by 11pm. Plus the parking is FREE! Second, the area seemed perfectly safe to me. True, it's no Beverly Hills or anything but it was just fine. I walked to the Walgreens two blocks away at night and had no problems. Even went to find a local spot for dinner on foot with no problems. Third, check-in went smoothly, the room was bigger than most, the complimentary breakfast had a nice selection, the price was reasonable and the location beyond convenient. Btw, my room was located at the very corner of the hotel and the street noise wasn't bad at all. I will actually stay here again next month on business and likely every time after!
This place is great, it's not fancy, but it has everything you could want in a hotel. Good location in Korea town across from a korean restaurant. Parking, breakfast and WiFi are included! The decor is slightly nicer than your average basic hotel, I guess that is what the plus in Best Western Plus is for.
Great management and staff. Clean and we'll decorated room with plenty of space. Really nice comfortable bed and pillows with a beautiful bedspread. Internet worked great. Air/heat worked great. Could open windows part way for fresh air. Offered room service but I didn't need to use it. The general manager Danny was really accommodating and was there when I checked in and when I checked out. He was running the hotel so well you could tell that he had a great relationship with his staff. He's a hands-on kind of general manager, very accessible, professional and nice. I stayed in hotels all around the world and for the price at this location for thistnice of hotel is a excellent deal!
Great location in Koreatown. Hotel looks plain from the outside but the room had a nice decor, very clean, spacious, and bed was extremely comfortable. I would stay here again. Staff was very friendly. Great Japanese restaurant right across the street and one of the best authentic Korean restaurant experiences a block and a half away. I find that I can always count on Best Western for a great stay.
This hotel was over $200 a night and was not worth half that! Why is this place even a Best Western? It did not meet up to any of the standards I expect from Best Western. Upon arriving at the hotel, the front desk was incredibly hard to find. While I was just outside looking for said entrance, there was this homeless guy on the sidewalk screaming at me in Korean. I had to pass this guy twice trying to find the entrance. When I finally found the front desk, I reported the guy outside to the front desk agent, and they could not care less. They acted as if I was inconveniencing them and did not offer me an apology or any sympathy at all. The room we were assigned was a joke. The toilet worked about twice before it was clogged. I called for maintenance, he came and “fixed” it. It worked about once before it was completely clogged again. I called and told them this upon leaving and once again no apology, no offer of compensation for our disgusting bathroom situation. Poor service, long story short, do not waste your money at this property! Spend the extra $10 and stay somewhere else.
We went for the World Series and hotel staff was amazing clean and comfortable. When I'm town will stay here again. The check in was smooth person was friendly and welcoming. Location was easy access to everything.
I was pleasantly surprised by this comfortable Best Western on 6th St near Vermont and blocks from some great Korean and Japanese restaurants, especially Korean barbecue hot spot, Quarters. While it doesn't look like much from the outside, the rooms were very comfortable and the included breakfast had variety.and decent coffee options Free parking is available and the Business center provided free access to computers and printer.
Stayed the night on a Sunday to attend adult swim festival. Great location to downtown. Parking lot is small so there's no guarantee spots available especially if you're going out at night. We took Uber because of this situation which worked out for us. Good selection of breakfast food in the morning. Would stay here again if doing something in the area.
The hotel is in good shape with a really comfortable bed. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. Was billed for drinks I didn't buy at check out but they fixed it quickly. A lot of homeless people on the streets around the hotel, but not the properties fault.
Stopped here for 2 nights and can't fault it at all! About 7 miles from Universal Studios so not a bad location, has 24/7 free secure parking and the free breakfast is really good! Rooms are spotless and pretty big, ohh and the beds are ridiculously comfy too! It doesn't say but we had a view of the Hollywood sign but was quite a distant away and could just about see it haha! 10/10! Would defiantly recommend!
When we first arrived, figuring out the entrance was a bit confusing, nonetheless we eventually figured it out. The lobby was cozy. We stayed for two nights arriving around midnight for a weekend trip. I was impressed with the clean and renovated hotel room with a clean washroom (a good washroom makes a big difference for me!) The A/C was a bit wonky but otherwise not bad. Breakfast was decent, we only had it for one morning, but it was nice that service went until 10. Checkout was easy, and we were able to store our bags while we explored a little more of Koreatown. It was good experience and would recommend for a budget friendly hotel in a good location (for us at least!). By Uber/Lyft/Taxi, it was not far from Staples Center which was a bonus too!
They call this Best Western Plus but the room was pretty basic and fairly small. When you walked into the room you almost bumped into the bed. The window looked at another window 10 feet across an air shaft. We came back to the hotel at midnight and the lot was full. The best they could do was tell us to drive around the area and find a parking spot. This was pretty ridiculous as we were unfamiliar with the area and didn't know if it would be dangerous walking around there at night.
Everything was great at this hotel. We arrived that morning, and did not have to wait until check in. The entire staff was nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms are the same. The shower had low water pressure and did not get as hot as the hot water from the sink. The water from the sink gets very hot, but the shower hot water doesn't get as hot. I checked the sink when I got out the shower, and it got super hot quickly. If only the shower did the same. I also noticed the floor was slightly slanted. I'm not sure if that's a building issue. The parking area is very small. Luckily, we used Lyft. The hotel is on the corner of 2 major streets, so it was a little noisy at night, but not loud enough to keep me awake or to wake me. The issues weren't major, so I would definitely stay again!!
We had a good night here when we stayed on Friday night. Other hotels we looked at were more pricy. This hotel has breakfast included, which had a waffle maker, eggs, sausage, and potatoes as well as bread and some pastries and cereal, yogurt. Staff here is fantastic - we had an issue with a TV but the maintenance man fixed it quick. He asked if we wouldn't mind fixing the bathroom door while he was at it (he noticed an issue). We walked around a bit in the evening, and plenty of restaurant to choose from. There is a Walgreens nearby if you need to pickup some stuff that are not offered at the shop on the first floor. It also has a gym if you want to work out. I'd recommend entering the parking lot from the 6th street side, take the first entrance if you're going eastbound, and if that's full, try the next entrance. There is a tiny entrance on the south New Hampshire ave but if there's nothing available, then you'll have to go around the block unless you're daring enough to try left turns on the 6th street.
Easy 2 block walk from the subway station Wilshire/Vermont. The red line connects both Hollywood and Downtown/Union Station. Local and rapid buses run east/west and north/south. We used the rapid bus along Wilshire to reach LACMA within a few minutes. Koreatown itself is walkable and has many interesting coffee shops and restaurants. The hotel is a nice BW Plus with friendly staff. The breakfast room was very clean and well cared for. The walk-in entrance on New Hampshire is strange without any signage (it's all on 6th street) but once you find it, it is no longer a problem!
We stayed here for 2 nights recently. Ideally located for both downtown LA and Hollywood with a metro stop just round the corner. Rooms were decent size with large comfortable double beds and air con. Breakfast was good and had a large selection Inc a waffle station. Parking also available free for guests too. Overall a great stay
The hotel is nice. Everyone working there is nice. The breakfast room was bigger than many and had two waffle makers. Beds are subjective, but our bed seemed a bit overly soft and one side tipped toward the middle. The location is good for walking to restaurants & ATMs and good for driving to Universal or downtown. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up, which was annoying. However, …. I tried to walk down the back strairs (which are fire stairs) and found them blocked by a large bed frame near the 2nd floor. (Also, there was a small ladder in the stairway on the three floor. Opening the door to outside required turning a lock. On the outside stairs, sat two garbage cans.)
The hotel is situated close to the 101, close to the metro and easy to escape. Modern building, plenty of car parking, secure. Big rooms, decent bathrooms and great great value for money. Staff very able and professional. Happily stay here again.
I only stayed one quick night at this hotel because my other hotel did not have space for the entire trip. The entrance is hard to find, and the reception is disappointing. However the rooms are fine, very large and renovated. The windows are very thin and you can hear people walking down the street, that was weird to me. This was my first night in LA, and I did not feel overly safe in this area. Perhaps this was just an initial perception and I did arrive late at night. Breakfast was a nice surprise a lot of choices, all very good quality, any decent dining room. Service was very effective and professional was throughout my stay.
When we walked into the lobby, which is located inside the parking garage, we were a bit concerned about the size of the hote. Once we accessed the upper floors, we were pleased with the nice hallways, fresh flowers, and nice breakfast room and business/room. The staff was terrific. The rooms were spotless. The neighborhood is not fancy, but the staff assured us it was safe to wander about at night. It was fine! There are several no-frills tiny
I have clients in the central downtown area that I needed to visit but the hotels in that area are very spendy and I didn't need anything fancy. I found this place which is Mid Town and it's prices were a little on the high side but I thought I would give it a try. Check in went very nice and the one gentleman made sure I got a room with a decent view. Housekeeping was good and the wi fi was very good. The room was on the smaller side but it worked and they had a great TV channel selection. The only negative is yes, the parking is included but if you want to leave early in the AM the security guy in the garage has to move cars around since many cars are blocked in. He does a good job at it. It just takes extra time. I have no problem staying here again.
We stayed in this hotel for a few nights in LA. No extra cost for parking overnight. Great location close to many touristic sites. Excellent beds with super comfortable mattresses. Plush towels and a very comfortable room. Breakfast is included with the room but don't expect too great a quality. Other restaurants are close by. In general it is great value for such a superior location.
As with tradition with the chain the place is comfortable, well kept and welcoming. The staff at this particular one is of the highest quality of service. The breakfast was also tasty w various. Thank's for the wonderful stay
Let me start by saying that this is the first time I've stayed in this area of LA and hotel prices are high. So I found the best rated hotel in the area (which isn't a great neighborhood) but I needed to be here due to a business function nearby and wanted to stay close. I think the price is outrageous for what I got, but compared to what else I found, it seemed a little nicer than the others for around the same price. First the good stuff. Free parking. Very nice! I got there early and got a spot and don't know if they have parking for all their guests or not, but at least it was free. They were very friendly at check-in, however their system was down and it took a little longer than normal, but no troubles. OK - I think that covers the good stuff. Now the not so good. The walls are very thin. I could hear every sound from my neighbor next door, especially from the bathroom. That was fun. NOT. My room had a funny smell to it, which I see on other reviews as well. There was no tv remote in the room, but I didn't have time to watch it anyway. The outlet in the lamp next to the bed was off because my adapter to plug in my phone just barely fit into the space. Odd design. The heater/air unit was of course the older model and the fan was VERY loud. Breakfast was pretty typical. I grabbed a couple granola bars and an apple but they had the usual stuff - cereal, muffins, waffles, etc. So was it a horrible stay? No. I just have a very hard time paying this kind of price to stay in a place like this, but it IS Los Angeles, so...
Located in busy area of mid-town called Korea Town -- lots of Asian shops and eateries, but also a Denny's and an IHOP within a block. The desk clerk recommended a great little NY style pizza restaurant around the corner. Anything fancier and you'll want to drive. We preferred not to take the car out again once we were settled, so having several choices within walking distance was nice. Hotel was very clean and nicely appointed, staff gracious and helpful. The included breakfast on 5th floor was self serve and pretty standard for this class hotel, and much appreciated. Parking on site was free, but tight, and worth well worth choosing this hotel over one closer to down town, which usually charge ($50+) for their parking. Wifi signal was strong and fast in our room. Flat screen TV was set off to one side and not very adjustable for viewing angle, so a little hard to see from the far side of the bed.
We chose this hotel because of the closeness to the Staple Center. It was reasonably priced and included a nice breakfast. The room was very clean, updated and lovely. There was a bit of traffic noise, but it didn't bother us. Parking was limited. The night parking lot attendant was helpful and friendly. We were glad that secure, free parking was available. The desk clerk at check-in was not nice at all and the morning desk clerk wasn't so great either! The lobby is tiny.
Best western Plus offered classic and complete hospitality. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. The check in process was smooth. The breakfast was very delicious with many options. And the hotel has their own parking area!! This is a wonderful perk for hotel guests. Parking in Los Angeles costs so much per day at most hotels - even when you are their guest. Best Western graciously includes the parking within the pricing for accommodations. PS - if you like burgers, walk from hotel to Cassell's. you wont be disappointed!
Its complimentary breakfast was very good. Rooms are clean. The room faces main street was quite noisy. The main entrance door was not visible from outside. The rate is a bit high compare to other similar hotels.
Its located in centre of mid town.. popularly known as Korea town. The hotel is quite small and is best suited for business travel. It doesn't house any restaurant however basis your package they serve breakfast on 5th floor every morning ... you can check in and check out very fast.. rooms are quite spacious and have a city view as well ... if u are on holidays and need to just take a stop then this hotel is quite apt... u have food corner at about a mile from hotel and u can have variety of food to chose from ...
The breakfast was filling at best, the room was small, and the view was nonexistent. Although not amazing, the bed was better than many. While in the bathroom we could hear others as if they were right next to us, but while in the main section of the room, it was very quiet. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and the location was central to many of our destinations.
The room was adequate--no major issues. The hotel is dated but the bathroom had obviously been updated and remodeled. Parking is extremely limited. It was helpful to have a security guard on duty as he had to take our keys and move our car as other cars needed to come/go (there were not enough parking spaces to accommodate all guests).
The hotel is located close to LA attractions . Perhaps this is the biggest positive. The hotel is located close to some asian dining joints . The sidewalk in the area is not clean and one has to really watch one's step. Rooms were clean , however the view , color palette and aesthetics leave a lot to be desired. The parking is free and is complicated and messy . Very difficult to maneuver around . Hotel staff was rude and arrogant . The hotel insists on taking copies of your credit card and driving license . These copies are stored in a folder located on the front desk . When I pointed that they are creating a security risk , the staff arrogantly brushed aside the concerns and pointed out that they have security cameras .. Which day and age do they live in ?? Additionally they took security deposit , I did not see the same practice at other BestWestern Hotels . From my perspective , the rules are being made on the fly and are not consistent across the hotels.
The Best Western Plus LA Mid-Town Hotel is located within an easy 15 drive to L.A. Live and the Staples Center which makes it a good location for downtown activities. It is clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast and free parking make it a good value. I will return here when I visit downtown Los Angeles again.
Overall a great hotel. The staff, the room and the amenities were very good. The location is great as you can get just about anywhere in the LA area very quickly. 20 minutes to Hollywood. 25 minutes to LAX. Be warned though, if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. They do provide one pair in room, and would probably give you more if requested, but keep in mind when booking. Monday is trash day in that neighborhood. I know this first hand. FYI
Clean room, comfortable bed, nice recliner. Front desk friendly and generous with fruit and water. Loved the ease of parking here. The room was quiet and I slept well, although by mid-morning could hear housekeeping in the hall.
Great hotel stay and fantastic price. Very professional Staff. Complete with free parking, a gym, and delicious breakfast. Rooms were well appointed and extremely quiet. Fast internet too. Some restaurants around but I went out and explored LA.
Best hotel I have ever stayed at in the LA area thanks to the fantastic staff. Reasonable price, decent room, good location - but the friendly and helpful staff makes it perfect. It should have 6 stars but the rating scale doesn't go that high.
This was a great new property with a lot to offer. We really enjoyed the time spent here and the hospitality. We will come back again soon when we travel to Los Angeles. Thank you to the staff for taking care of me and my family.
Centrally located to all the places I needed to be while I was there. Had a really nice stay at Best Western. Many of the people in my group stayed here as well. It was nice to hang out with them, without having to drive anywhere.
One of the best Best Westerns I've stayed at. Very helpful staff. Parking is not guaranteed, but staff helped out and accommodated by making space. Parking garage had a night security guard. Great breakfast also.
From check in , night auditor and checkout, the service was excellent! All the front desk agents were genuinely caring. The location is perfect! Several stores, pharmacies and close to the staples center! Their breakfast was delicious and several items to choose from. If I ever visit LA, I will be coming back here !!
A decent location to commute to downtown. Situated in Korea town. Staff is great. Checkin and checkout were both smooth. I had a room with 2 queen beds. Spacious and clean. Breakfast was served on the 5th floor every day. A big plus is the free parking. Valet is available in the evening. Would stay again.
Very nice stay, only about 2 miles from my construction project, restaurants close by as well as stores for any needs. Free parking in an enclosed garage. the rooms were clean and nicely furnished, I plan to call this home when I am in the area.
Overall this was a good hotel. The breakfast had a good variety of offerings. Unfortunately I did not request a room away from the street so there was some street noise. We also had a room right next to the ice machine. We should have realized there might be issues when we saw the ear plugs next to the bed.
The room was clean and well organized. The location was great for getting to the Convention Center, with a perk of free breakfast and free parking. The staff was polite, helpful, and cheerful. Free parking was nice, but a little crowded.
Me and my wife stayed in this hotel for nine days. We had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay in this hotel. Customer Service was outstanding! A room was already available for me and my wife even if we arrived at the hotel early. Special thanks to Alex, and to the manager, Abdul, for always being very helpful and for accomodating our requests. Both of them were very courteous and friendly. Alex and Abdul made our stay at Best Western Plus LA Mid-Town Hotel comfortable and stress-free. Other staff members of the hotel were also very helpful. After spending the whole day going to tourist spots, me and my wife felt relaxed as soon as we arrived in our room. The room was big and very clean. It was complete with amenities, including a refrigerator, iron and iron stand, microwave, etc. The bathroom was big and very clean. The bed and the pillows were comfortable. The full breakfast at the hotel is very good, with lots of food and beverage options. The breakfast area was clean and the hotel staff therein were very efficient. This is really a very nice hotel. We look forward to staying in this hotel again!
Staff friendly and helpful at check in. It had off street under cover parking, you were given a voucher to place on your dashboard. We had a problem when arriving in our allocated room, in that the air con there wasn't working very well on a very hot arrival day. The management promptly gave us another room to move to, which was great. The air conditioning there worked well and was nice and quiet throughout our stay. The room was quite spacious, clean and comfy. The bed was comfy, although a little hard to our liking. It had a fridge and microwave Breakfast was ok, with hot and cold choices available. There was some traffic noise – but the hotel provided guests free air plugs The room had a safe for valuables. Location was good, handy to nearby shops, public transport and food choices.
Very clean. Great staff. Has elevator. Parking covered, on first floor. Breakfast better than average. Not all room with a view. Older property that has been completely redecorated and is very nice. Good price.
The good - Location is great. The area is safe and convenient. Lots of nearby stores, Walgreens, gas station, subway, etc. - Room is spacious. - The bed was extremely comfortable. - You have a fridge, a safe, flat TV with HBO, a coffee maker, etc - Staff was wonderful. - There is parking on site and it's free, this is great. But keep in mind that it may get full, if this happens, you will have to ask the staff at the front desk about what to do in this case. - There is a 24/7 business room you can use at will. - Complimentary breakfast was very good. You have a good variety of beverages and food. - Front desk does not charge for receiving packages. Amazon lockers (Lazer) are located 2 blocks away in the 7-Eleven at Wilshire and Vermont. The bad: My experience was wonderful, but there's always room for improvement. - Room at night is not well lit. - The room had the following quirk that was somewhat annoying. The bathroom light switch is located outside the bathroom, also, the bathroom door, which is particularly wide, when opened blocks the access to the light switch, so if you have the bathroom door open and you're going to the bathroom, you need to close the door, turn the lights on using the outside switch, and get in the bathroom. It may seem silly, buy believe me, it gets annoying. - There is no towel hook in the shower, so towels stays on the floor until you get out of the shower. - There is no place to leave your stuff in the bathroom. If you like to leave your toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, perfume, etc in the bathroom, then you're in trouble, because there's nowhere to leave them.
Stayed for 3 nights in October 2017. Clean for the most part but I did find a candy wrapper behind a chair when I was searching for an outlet. The neighborhood is a little sketchy at night but it's fine during the day. Denny's, IHOP, Chipotle, Jimmy Johns all within walking distance as well as the Metro Purple Line. Lots of choices for breakfast but it seemed like getting to the breakfast room early will save you from the cluster that develops later. Booked through their website but that didn't seem to mean that my BWR # would be attached to the reservation as I had to ask for them to credit the points later.
This hotel is newly refurbished, and clean, clean, clean. Walking distance to restaurants in Korea Town, and 2 blocks from MetroLink Station. Free parking is a plus. Parked our car, and used Metro to go everywhere, including Griffith Observatory, Downtown Civic Center, and Hollywood. Complimentary breakfast is first rate, and room is spotless. Has nice workout room, but no pool. The manager, Abdul, is attentive & charming.
We returned at 3 am to find that our registered vehicle had been towed and we were locked out our room. Police we called and escorted us to our room to collect our belongings, I was also I was charged for a room that I was unable to stay in. It was extremely embrassing to not have a room and have my vehicle towed, this property does not have enough parking for (1 vehicle per checked in guest). Currently I have been charged for a room (that I did not stay in), towing charges 228.90, and possible damage to the vehicle inproperly towed by front desk agent JESSIE RODRIGUEZ.
Located in Koreatown, very close to downtown LA. Similar breakfast as most Best Western locations: waffle maker, eggs, sausage/bacon, yogurt, fruits, cereal, assorted pastries, coffee and juice machines. Bonus was the shredded cheese for the scrambled eggs and soy milk foryour coffee or cereal.
This hotel is centrally located and near downtown Los Angeles with easy access. However, housekeeping decided that they wanted items more than I did and took things from my room. When the front desk was notified they took little action besides expressing their sorrow and regret. That didn't get my things back. Had this not happened I would have had a very positive review. But it's hard to recommend a property where the staff will steal your things.
Excellent location: close to most places of interest, right by the bus and metro. Great value, especially when you factor in free parking. Fitness center is small, but has towels and water. Every request I had was efficiently handled by a friendly staff member.
We stayed here 3 nights, and overall were quite pleased. Nice spacious, modern rooms. Really good breakfast. Comfortable beds. Parking is an issue. On the morning of our checkout, we left early to make our flight, and even though we found a spot the night before, we're surprised to find several cars boxing us in so we couldn't get out. Thankfully, the security/valet was able to move the cars so we could get out, but this caused us some distress. The windows are also poorly sealed and you can hear a lot of the outside noise.
I was very pleased with my stay the LA Mid-Town hotel. The staff was very attentive and went out of there way to be accommodating. I would happily stay at this property the next time I am in this area.
My wife and I spent four nights at this hotel in October and were generally pleased with our stay. The hotel is quiet, has free parking, Wi-Fi and breakfast. The subway is five minutes walk from front door. The hotel is in a so-so neighbourhood, some homeless here and there, but we've seen the best and the worst of LA and this was above average, considering. On the downside, the breakfast was always cold (I mean what's not to like about cold bacon and eggs...) and the AC was blowing directly onto the bed, but we got around this by forming a little deflecting dam with our luggage. A good experience all in all.
This hotel was easy to get to from the 101. It is in Korea town and there were quite a few restaurants within walking distance. The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was clean with new furnishings. We used the business center to print some documents and it was free and easy to use.
First when we got to the area of the hotel we were worried because there was a lot of homeless and the areawasn't so good. But , Surprisingly the hotel was amazing, clean and so comfortable. Thank you for everything .
I was pleasantly surprised by all of the little extras included - earplugs, shoe cleaning cloth, sterilized remote, water bottles. The bed was also very comfortable with many plump pillows. The location is great for events in this area of town. It is not a scenic hotel, but very clean, nice and affordable. I didn't go up for the free breakfast, but the lobby coffee machine was great!
Maybe the best hotel value in LA. For $159 (sale price) you get a huge corner room in Ktown, newly remodeled, king sized bed, quiet, AC/TV.... I mean its not hip or super luxe and the "lobby" just has a counter and a vending machine, but you have all Ktown at your feet, so who cares?
We stayed at the Best Western Plus LA Mid-Town Hotel for four nights, using it as our base to explore LA, Santa Monica, Hollywood & to visit Universal Studios. We were really impressed with the hotel - it had clearly been recently refurbished, as the room looked new with lots of new fixtures & fittings. It was clean, the front desk staff were friendly and it had it's own parking - a real must as you have to drive to explore LA. The Breakfast was a basic buffet style, but it had a good selection of drinks, pastries, cereals, limited hot options, toasts & bagels and waffle makers (with a great selection of toppings). It's in Koreatown which means there's some great restaurants nearby if you like Asian food - and it's walkable to Downtown LA.
This BW has the most friendliest staff. Very clean hotel. They allowed us to check in very early. When we would ask for extra towels they were very quick at getting them for us. This is by far the friendliest staff I have ever encountered.
We knew parking was going to be an issue and this Best Western was located for easy access to the Microsoft Theater by public transportation. That allowed us to enjoy our time there and not get caught up in the frustrations of transportation and parking.
Hotel staff was friendly and nice. The lobby, hallways & my room was clean. In fact, my room looked like one of those fancy hotel rooms downtown without the heavy price tag. Although, I deleted one star because the breakfast buffet could use some improvement. The oatmeal was dry & sticky, the eggs were ruuny with water, beacon was so tiny. But, the breakfast area was clean.
This hotel worked out perfectly for our stay to watch tv show tapings at the CBS studios. 15 min drive from The Grove/Farmer's Market areas. Breakfast was great! Room was clean. Free parking but spaces are cozy so may not be room for full sized SUV.
Very clean hotel. Staff is great! Rooms are good size and very clean. Breakfast is decent. (Cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, ect) Parking situation is terrible! Very small parking lot and no street parking! Good value, except for parking.
This was the worst hotel I have stayed in ever. In the past year I stayed in hotels for 75 nights. We requested a quiet room not by the elevator. Not only was our room right next to the elevator, it was by the ice machine where people congregated and talked through the night. Our room was right under the dining hall so starting very early in the morning we heard chairs and furniture scraping the floor above our head nonstop. The bathtub gurgled loudly. The hair dryer didn't work. I called to ask for a replacement hair dryer and was told that there was no housekeeping people on site (this was 8 am in the morning) and there was nothing to do. Upon check-out we told the front desk staff about all of our issues and he was very rude to us. I will never stay at this hotel again.
Parked Dodge Ram in parking garage. Somewhat tight fit but found a spot. Headed to checkin and was greeted. Staff was very nice. Picked points vice present for Diamond status. Water or coffee near desk. Construction is going on with some glue smells. Nothing to strong or bad. Got room keys. Keys is touch close type. Got room 425. Took elevator up and hallways are clean but no air conditioning. New remodeling and very nice. Desk staff said it used to be Howard Johnson. Room air conditioning is great. Cooled room quick. We got corner view of street. Shower drained good and head was desent. Toilet is low and round. Not high and oblong. If walking around their is Walgreens one block away. Dennys and Ihop within a block. No pool but gym is big. Lots of space. If using beachbody live stream on laptop. You have room for workouts. Beats the hall way. Came back late around midnight from conference. Parking attended by someone. Double parked car for us. Ate breakfast and checked out. Breakfast was eggs, sasage, and potatoes. Waffles toast be gals Cereal juice yogart fruit and other stuff. Nice spread and open til 10pm on a Saturday. I swapped from Hollywood best western because it was closer to my meetings. This hotel is remodeled and nice but miss pool time. If you want lower rates and nice quality this will work for you.
I arrive at hotel around 10.00 am , Hotel has reserved parking for guest and reception is nice and the room is ready for us. The room is clean and comfy. The bathroom is clean also. There are microwave in the room. There is korean restaurant around here.
Overall this hotel is a great value in a convenient location. The room is very nice for the price and the location is convenient. The staff was mostly very helpful. I was lied to by the check-in staff saying at check-out my BW travelcard would be applied to the total. Upon checkout I was told it could ONLY be applied at check-in. Somebody is lying-I suspect the only doesn't want the hassle.
I recently helped my daughter move to LA from Pennsylvania and she was going to be going to school in this area. I booked a room for 11 nights, which is by far, the longest I've ever stayed in one hotel in my life. It could be good, or it could be bad.....I am happy to report that I felt right at home here and everything turned out good. The room was of good size and came with a larger mini-frig, microwave and coffee pot. There was a room air conditioner that you can easily adjust to any temperature. We like it on the cool side and I was there during a warm spell in LA. The AC worked great, although a bit noisy, but aren't they all. The beds were big and very comfortable. I was happy that I was able to separate the comforter top away from the blue blanket because I get very warm at night and most hotels nowadays have the one big, puffy quilt that is way too hot for me. The breakfast is included in your price. They had the usual bagels, waffles, cereal and so forth, but also hot bacon, sausage and eggs. I asked the manager if the eggs contained gluten (some restaurants use flour to fluff up the scrambled eggs) and he assured me that the eggs did not contain any gluten. Some mornings the breakfast staff made round, flat scrambled eggs which was fun and we would make a sandwich with two round eggs with a round sausage inside. Yes, doesn't take much to make me amused. The breakfast also included hot coffee, tea (and they use the good tea-Stash, not the usual cheap stuff) and many different flavors, even green which is hard to come by at restaurants. There was also fresh fruit and yogurt. So something for everyone. I would have preferred real hard-boiled eggs in the shell rather than only having scrambled eggs. There is a nice gym that hardly anyone was using. The only reason i did was my daughter was at orientation several days and I felt like a work out. The neighborhood I wasn't sure about. The equipment was surprisingly modern and good quality. Many hotels have old equipment. There was water and towels in the room, but I had trouble getting the TV to work. Also, one day the AC was on and the next if was off and they had the windows open. It was stuffy in there and I could not figure out how to turn on the AC. Of course it was hot out, but I survived. I really liked the gym otherwise! There is a really nice business office on the 5th floor where you can print out your plane tickets, etc. Another nice feature of this hotel is FREE PARKING! Have to tell you some hotels in LA charge $50/night so this was MUCH APPRECIATED!! Sometimes the garage got full, but they would valet park your car if that was the case. I found the staff friendly and very helpful during my stay. I will definitely stay here again when visiting my daughter. I had a nice quiet room even during busy August vacation time. They are always very busy keeping the rooms very clean.
these rooms NEED TO BE HAIR FREE everywhere AND SMELL CLEAN. it was humid and smelled old. the location kind of sucked as well. we were moved to another room but there was hairs there as well. dont stay here
Typical Best Western: Pretty humble appearance but amazing staff that makes your stay super comfortable and nice. Really enjoyed staying here and if I came back (not on business) I'd probably choose to stay here again.
As newcomers to Los Angeles, we were skeptical about this (or any) hotel in the area, but were pleasantly surprised. The exterior of the hotel is unassuming and older, and the rooms are small, but well-appointed. The room was also very clean (which I really appreciate and am often disappointed in other hotels). There is some noise (it's in a big city, so no surprise there). We ran the fan from the AC and slept well - no problems. For the price, we were very pleased. We came into town for an event in downtown LA and very much appreciated being able to start each day with free breakfast, and also a free and secure place to park our car. Access to the Metro is just a five-minute walk away. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint (and not a major one) is that the bed is too firm for me - but my husband liked it.
Hotel was clean and beds were nice. Had an excellent staff, friendly and kind. I was not very happy with how expensive the room was. I have had the same type of room at least half the cost if not more in Nevada. For a week night way too expensive. I got this room because I had to travel to take my grandson to the children's hospital in LA. Should have had a discount as I checked in at 5 am and checked out by 11 am. Needed a quick rest before our travel home 6 hours away.
An excellent LA hotel, central, close to the Metro (4 stops from the Music Center) in the Koreatown area. My room was spacious, super clean, had upscale furnishings, plush towels, linens and a great, comfortable bed. Breakfast was terrific. Highly recommended.
I recently had a very comfortable 4 night stay here during a visit to LA. Although the surrounding area isn't very pleasant, the hotel is just a few mins walk from Wilshere/Vermont Red Line Metro so getting to Hollywood, Universal Studios, Downtown LA and Union Station is easy. There are plenty of decent restaurants nearby including a host of Korean BBQ restaurants. We tried Ahgassi Gopchang and had an excellent meal. Our room was not on the main street meaning that it was very quiet. I did request a room in a quiet part of the hotel and am grateful that the hotel were able to accommodate this request. I would definitely stay here again.
STayed at the Midtown property for two days. Very clean rooms, very friendly stay and a very quiet despite being located near Downtown Los Angeles. No major issues and even the minor issues were handled quickly and professionally. I would consider staying there again the next time I was in the LA area,
We always stay at Best Western because we get continued customer service at anyone of there locations . They have a great staff and they are always willing to do what they need to do to make your stay as pleasant as possible .
Clean, they have the most comfortable beds ever and the location is centrally located close to many popular areas. Great breakfast with many choices. Friendly staff and an underground staffed parking lot.
This property lies in the Korea Town area of LA, a short walk from the LA Metro station. I was in town for a conference, and it was a matter of a short walk, and easy Metro ride to get to the convention center. The in-room internet was quite fast, and the breakfast was good, with several options.
Nice, clean spot in Koreatown. Once we parked at the hotel, we walked everywhere! My room faced another building, and was surprisingly quiet. Mattress was new and so comfy. There are too many restaurants to choose from, all an easy stroll from the Best Western.
This hotel is really nice! The room was super clean and the bed really comfortable. it is located in such a great area in Koreatown! Only a 2 minute walk away from all kinds of delicious Korean food! Water pressure was okay. I have 2 complaints: 1: The walls are paper thin and could hear so much noise! Dining room is on the 5th floor and my room was right below on the 4th floor. I was woken in the morning to chairs dragging and making a screeching sound. You could hear all of the cars outside and it sounded like our window was open. There was 1 package of ear plugs and at first my sisters and I joked about them but later understood why they may be needed. 2: What even was the parking situation at this hotel? It advertises "free parking" so I assumed it meant self parking. There is like 10 parking spots and if you get there after all the parking is gone then it turns into free valet parking via the hotels security guard. Overall I really loved the area this hotel was in and will probably stay in the future. I will make sure to bring extra ear plugs!
Booked this hotel not familiar with location but overall was pleased excellent service all around no issues parking at night they had someone park my car and always made sure in the morning knew where I can find it overall would recommend this to anyone traveling around the LA area not far from Dodgers stadium, downtown LA and not far from Hollywood and everything else.
As a diamond member of Best Western we stay often at locations in different cities. We were in town for a Dodgers game so we searched for a Best Western near the stadium. Upon arrival the first thing we noticed was the parking was very small. We brought our concern to the front desk clerk, we let her know we were going to be at a game and we would be arriving back at the hotel fairly late. She assured us there were enough parking spots for one car per room. Looking at the parking lot we just knew that couldn't be possible but going against our better judgment we took the parking passes that she gave us and trusted her. I say passes because we had two rooms and two cars. When we arrived back at the hotel close to midnight as we had suspected there was no parking. The entries to the parking lot had been closed off with cones and we were told by the front desk clerk, who spoke very very broken English I don't know if it was an act or not, but nonetheless she kept directing me to "speak to security". These poor security guards get their Wrath of every guest who comes back to a full parking lot and has to be directed to park blocks away and pay I might add. We had to walk back to our hotel after midnight with six children ranging from age from ages 2 to 15 in downtown Los Angeles, because this Best Western does not provide parking as advertised.
Good location to move around to restaurants. Might be noisy with passing vehicles but short stay should to acceptable. No problem with packing with free valet available when crowded parking. Recommend if you like convenient location.
The room was clean. However, I was not informed about making a $100 deposit prior to booking my room. This was an unexpected charge and there was no explanation for the charge. I will dispute the charge if it is not removed within 24hours.
Horrible mildew smell in the room. Parking is a mess. There is no one to tell you what you are supposed to do with your car. You can barely see the signage on the Hotel so it's easy to miss. The coffee in the room is terrible. When we arrived there were at least 7 people in the lobby waiting to be checked in, they all appeared to be very unhappy. We checked out early Monday morning and there was no coffee available. How hard would that be to have hot coffee for your guests? Our room phone did not work. The internet connection was really bad, and we could not even connect on our first day there.
I enjoyed my stay! The rooms were clean, the bed was comfy, complimentary breakfast was delicious and the staff was pleasant and very helpful. The area isn't the best but I felt safe and I will definitely be returning.
Alex is a good example of well trained staff, who handled very well the situation of a gross error of Hotels.Com. whose computer failure booked us for an earlier month of June , and did not notice our request for late check-in on 4 July and late checkout on 7 July. Also did not advise us or check why there was no show after the first night, to allow time for us , to make alternative arrangements. It was a shock to arrive and discover the mistake. I also did not notice the different month. The forfeiture should only be one night and not all 3 nights.
Overall, this was a very nice room. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The internet worked well and breakfast was decent. Also considering this is in the city, free parking was a very nice bonus. Only complaint I can make is traffic noise is pretty loud in the room compared to other city-center hotels I have stayed in.
We were turned away from parking at the hotel. We had to park down the block and pay $20 then had to walk back to the hotel at night. Front desk clerck pretended not to speak English. Then heard her talking to someone else that was complaining about parking in English.
Free Parking, Wi-fi and breakfast in a ideal location, what more can you ask for. The staff of the hotel are attentive and make it a point to give customer service. Great location, close to freeways and tourist spots like Hollywood and Universal studios.
Chose this hotel because was close to our friends lived. Despite the room being minuscule it worked and it was very charming and comfortable. I would recommend full heartedly a stay there. The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. We came with our one year old toddler and everything was perfect. The location of the hotel is in a beautiful area close to tube, parks, gorgeous shops and restaurants and the tour d Eiffel is 15min walk away. Absolutely perfect. We would be happy to stay there again on our next visit:)
I chose this hotel because I had BW points to get rid of. It was convenient for getting around to different places. The windows need to be updated to reduce city noise since the hotel sits on an active intersection.
Visited for the Pride Festival. The stay was very nice. It was a good value for what I paid; the rooms were clean and the breakfast had great options. Free parking was a good bonus, but don't be suprised if the parking is full or compact; parking serves as the ground level of the hotel, along with the front desk inside. I'd give it an overall 4.5 stars.
My son and husband went to E3 at the LA conference center which was 10 minutes away. My daughter and me went to Universal studios which was about 20 minutes away. There also a lot of good restaurants within walking distance. This place is located in Korean town, so if you like korean BBQ there is a varity of that type of food.
very convenient location for tourists not a far drive from Hollywood or Downtown LA. Although if you have time you should really drive around this area it has alot to offer the hotel has convenient enough parking with security we stayed during the week so we dont know what the weekend parking was overall it was a good stay for us! thank you to Alex for his help
My group lodged here during a short term mission trip to the LA Dream Center. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, comfortable and bigger than normal rooms. Breakfast choices were excellent also.
Our room smells a bit. Asked for a quiet room 1 month ago, got a noisiest one. Not pleased. Use double pane windows! Free parking and decent rate partially compensate for the noise. Efficient front desk.
Convenient place to stay. In the middle of all the places we wanted to visited, Hollywood sign, art museum, giffith observatory, ktown. Will stay here again. Parking is not big so there is a person there to park your car for you.
We had stayed at this same BWI before always a good location for us. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are neat and clean. Beds are very comfortable. We had not stayed on that side of the building before. It was terribly noisy noisy at night.
I chose this hotel as it was near Metro, restaurants, and near people we were visiting. Room are very clean with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was as expected and plentiful , coffee could be better. Small parking area but free and staff did great job of handling many cars. For the price this a bargain in LA. No complaints
When we arrived on the hotel there wasn't an available room (I did the reservation 1 month early). This way, the receptionist told us we should stay in other room and on the next day we could move. So far so good. On the next day we went to the reception and we were informed the new room wasn't available yet. We went out to see the city and when we came back, the hotel staff already had changed our stuff to the new room but lot of chocolates and candies that we had bought on San Francisco wasn't there. I went to the reception desk on the same day and on the next day asking about it but all that I heard was "we didn't see anything". Well, it was just chocalates and candies but it was ours and we bought as gift to our family. After that, I don't feel comfortable staying here because we didn't even receive an apology.
Also known by shuttle drivers as the Howard Johnson LA Mid Town, the hotel should be renamed Korea Town as it is right in that area of the city. Hotel is being renovated (partially) and could also use some good new windows with double sound proof insulation. You can easily tell when the neighbor room goes to the bathroom due to thin walls and noisy plumbing. I was provided with ear-plugs in the room when I came in which denotes that the management is aware of the noise conditions and helps making it easier. Entrance door of the room let enough light through from the corridor (and noise) that I did not need to turn on the light at night if I had to go to the bathroom (probably part of the renovation plans). On the positive side, bed was comfortable, internet worked pretty well and the fitness room is like brand new with good equipment. Breakfast choice was all right and personal was super cordial and helpful. For the ones with a car, some parking is available on-site. Probably not my best choice over the last trips.
I stayed in this hotel during my recent visit to Los Angeles with my family. I found the front desk staffs are helpful though the hotel is not up to standard I expected. There was no bell boy or room service. There was only one elevator and sometimes workers were going up with me and family with heavy stuffs which I found uncomfortable. The beds were not comfortable and room furnitures were outdated. However the location was good as metro station and few good restaurants were within two or three blocks. I was also delighted to find few Bangladeshi restaurants with some delicious food.
I only stayed here for one night. My stay was very comfortable. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel lobby, hallways, and room were always clean. The location was very convenient, only about 2 blocks away from the subway station. The bed was very comfortable, not too soft, not too hard. The breakfast was what I expected of a continental breakfast. The price was reasonable given the location. I would stay here again.
Stayed on two occasions recently was impressed with pleasant helpful staff, clean rooms and reasonable room rate. The hotel was well located and staff could not have been more helpful. Would have liked a little more variety in terms of breakfast fare.
We were kindly offered an earlier check in. We were extremely grateful as we just arrived from a long haul flight and needed to shower and rest before heading out. Beds were relatively comfortable, walls were slightly thin so you could hear people closing their doors. Thankfully our level was acceptably quiet. The kitchen lady was the sweetest and most helpful staff we met. She made us feel comfortable and even though English was not her first language, she explained to us how everything works. She was hardworking and made sure the floors and table were all clean. We had a pleasant stay and the location was convenient as it was near the train station. Lots of Korean restaurants around the area. So it is convenient enough.
The hotel charged a different price when I was invoiced compared to the reservation price I was given. The staff said there is nothing can be done. Other than that, location should be convenient to get around LA with a rented vehicle and free parking.
Our family stayed two nights. The hotel seemed newly renovated, was clean and had good scent. There are lots of nice Korean restaurant near hotel and we enjoyed the Korean foods. If you want to explore Korea Town, I recommend this hotel. The only disadvantage was that the parking spots were limited but otherwise everything was okay.
We stayed two nights at this Koreatown hotel In a 2 queen bed room facing the other hotel rooms (must be tight u shape). The rooms were large enough and clean with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There also was complimentary coffee and tea downstairs in foyer. Breakfast was included and although basic provided a nice variety of hot and cold. The main problem we had was that could not close window properly and so was noisy. The beds are also very firm but that didn't bother me. There was under ground parking but we used the train with the Met station only a block away (10m walk max) and being the red line it takes you right to Universal Studios. Desk staff were friendly.
Here is the big tip that we learned the hard way! The first night we had a room with the view of the main street. I had to have a sound machine to drown out the noise plus we were right under the breakfast room, so I woke up to people shifting their chairs around which I am hard of hearing, so you know it was loud! So, we told the front desk and asked if we could switch rooms which they were very nice and knew it was noisy, so we got a room that wasn't booked yet. The second room was fine. I had heard a lady that was in charge that they knew the rooms by the street was noisy, but they were in the process of sound proofing them. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and a great location! The location alone is a huge reason we would stay there again. Over most of the activities that we wanted to do was within 10 miles which with traffic is a huge positive. The parking lot was very small, but we didn't have a car so it didn't bother us. We did notice though once when walking through the parking lot that the cars were squeezed in and if you wanted your car that was in the back of the small lot it would take some time or if even possible. Overall, I would stay here again, just beware of the location of your room
Staff was great attending to our needs. The location needs more parking spots. I would stay there again. Breakfast set up was very nice. Nice place, clean and quite. Check in and out was done very quickly.
Great location if you have to visit the Chinese Consulate. Only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Plenty of eateries off of 6 th Ave. The front office staff , John and Alex are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was not easily identifiable from the street due to the lack of proper signage and/or markings. The room location was poor because it faced a major thoroughfare--which exposed us to excessive noise (e.g. Emergency vehicles, trucks and horns) throughout the evening. The rate exceeded the accommodations based on the noise inconvenience. Also, there was not mention of the street-noise during check-in.
stay was excellent, except was on 1st floor facing the street. I would recommend room away from the street. Over all it was great lost of choices for breakfast items. The Coffee could use a little help was too watery.
