Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel

I book a reservation in January for March and when I got there the hotel was temporary closed. I didn't get any notice and they did not refund me. I called them and emailed them, they did not get back to me.

A short walk to subway to Manhattan. The room was very nice and big enough for one person. Two probably would've been fine too. TV was fine but I didn't use it very much. Very nice & helpful male attendant at breakfast. Nice selection of cold & hot food. Great to have microwave at breakfast! Female front desk at check-in was unusually helpful and friendly. Staff inn the morning were efficient but not as warm. I thought there was no hot water in the bathtub until I tried setting it to cold then I got plenty of hot water. Guests in room 511 should be advised of this until it gets fixed. heat was way too noisy in my room (511). I ended up turning it off!and was warm enough the second night after I got the extra blanket. first night I had to choose between being cold or kept awake by the noisy heater. I would not return here in months warm enough that I expect to have to use the air conditioning because of the fear that I would be kept up all night by the noise or will be too hot if I turned it off. it's great that they provide a refrigerator at no extra cost in the room. Most but not all staff were wearing masks. I don't know what hotel policy is or what the law requires here but I would prefer seeing all staff wearing masks. I made a point of wearing one whenever I was near anyone. pillows are unusually small and very soft. If you prefer otherwise, bring your own. mattress was OK but softer than the very firm mattress I'm used to at home. Overall, I would be happy to return when the weather is cold enough that I would not have to run the air conditioner due to concerns over its noise. I can make do without heat as long as I get an extra blanket but when you want to risk having to be without air conditioning overnight.

Really nice hotel, great food options nearby, 2 blocks from a Manhattan bound subway. Breakfast was excellent, and Maintenence managed to get the oddball elevator working fairly quickly. (2 elevators, one had issues for a few houra.)

The hotel is very good, great value for money. It's very very close to an accessible subway station. The breakfast is very complete with many options and daily variety. The room was clean and the staff always ready for help. The soda machine was missing some variety, there was a night when there was not even a coke. The neighborhood is not good, there is a project the next block, right in front of the subway station. The deli next door is also very weird. But at any time I felt threatned by the neighbors, a minor setback in a great stay.

Pros: 1-Good and helpful Staff's 2-Nice and clean room 3-Price is ok 4-Clean bathroom 5-Good internet 6-5 minutes walk to subway 7-Nice view from the room Cons: 1- Only 2 elevator ( staff use's 1 of the 2 elevator all morning and it's impossible to get down to the lower floor) 2- Same breakfast every day 3- Spooky neighborhood at night 4- Old and outdated room( there was a damp spot on the ceiling and the room has very low light ) 5- Shower in the bathroom was weird (very low water pressure) As for the price the hotel was good , but if you can spend a little more then I would suggest stay at Manhattan, otherwise it takes 35/40 min to go to Manhattan by cab. Overall it's good staying.

Decent hotel for a short stay. The room need some updates. The front desk was very nice.they took care of my need very quick. The breakfast was very good. Overall for the price and being close to the subway station it is good option

Horrible place. Photos are deceiving. Not sure how they got the stars they did. Gross dirty breakfast, beat up and falling apart rooms and bites on leg after staying. Only good was proximity to F train to Manhattan.

Breakfast was delicious staff were wonderful so close to subway it was easy to get into Manhattan! Another major subway line a couple more blocks away. We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus Long Island City.

The location is great for getting into both Brooklyn and NYC. We did both this past weekend. Front desk lady was super great made checking easy and parking was reasonable in price. Room was clean as well as bathroom. Will differently stay again when I go back to NYC.

The only problem in this hotel is, there's no enough space and seats for the customers during the breakfast. All the rest was great! Clean and comfortable. The employees from front desk, cleaning and kitchen breakfast were amazing, especially Yasmin, that was always so kind and helpful when we needed something. Thanks everyone, thanks Yasmin! We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Plus in Long Island City. The hotel is close to the subway station and a short ride into the city. Front desk staff were super helpful! The rooms were large and comfortable.

We stayed for 3 nights in September. The location is perfect for exploring New York. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is very good and especially Yasmin in the Cafeteria is a particularly friendly and attentive person.

We stayed in Best Western Hotel for one night and I really liked it. Specially the lady who works in Cafeteria for breakfast, her name is Yasmin, who really works hard and very kind, generous to the people. clean and nice rooms, hotel overall is ok but the stuff uses 1 of 2 elevators all morning and it's impossible to get up to the higher floor. I stayed at the 8th floor and after 45min wait for the elevator, as there is just 1 for all the guests I had to walk up to the 8th floor.

Spent three nights at this hotel. Clean rooms, breakfast included and walking distance to the subway. The staff were wonderful. Very helpful and super nice. No need to pay Manhattan prices when you can stay here and hop on the subway and I'm 10 minutes you are in Manhattan.

Great stay with a marvelous Manhattan view room. Room is of good size and comes with bathtub, safe, fridge. We had paid hotel parking space. F-line Subway station within walking distance. Simple quick check-in snd very warm friendly staff. Small gym. Usual breakfast spread but dining room a little tight, even with an extended room. Had to queue and wait to get food. Everrything works and satisfy our requirements.

I really enjoyed my stay. It was very relaxing stay; the staff were very friendly and were very on top of things. There was breakfast available, and it was great plus there was parking although during my family trip we just used the subway to travel around because the hotel was close to a subway station.

We had the audacity to run my credit card and take money out of the account but tell me my ID wasn't good enough too ok let me stay at the hotel. If the ID isn't good enough to stay; then why was it good enough for you to run the card? Meaning you didn't verify I was the owner of card! Why did you run it? Stephane? Not to mention it was all because she saw my service dog thats a pit bull! And decided hell no! On top I had my Prep for HIV delivered to the hotel that day and after all this forgot to ask for that. I came back a few days later and this nasty queen; decided to belittle me telling my I'm Psychologically unstable drawing conclusions from my service dog! Little did he know it's not for me the service dog it's for people like him! So I don't just beat the little dime wit for being rude, and straight up disgusting person! What was more upsetting I brought it to BW's attention and after 2 or so months have heard nothing… so I don't recommend the hotel and personal would boycott it like the plague!

Very comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. Room were nice and clean. Parking was available for guest. Breakfast was excellent. This place is near by the subway, just 12 minute walking. Elevator is there for your convent.

Extremely dissatisfied with my stay here. Once we checked into our room, we went up and saw that it was not cleaned whatsoever; beds not made, towels everywhere, diapers on the floor. The 7th floor room was not ready to be turned over to us. We were then switched to a lower worse floor, the 2nd floor right next to the parking lot where we had no views except for the car headlights illuminating the room. On checkout, we were over charged $107.28 and the desk was unable to tell me what it was for and I would need to wait 3 days until the manager would come in for a response. I have never been given a response. Best Western Plaza never offered anything to right their mistakes for this stay. I will be working for chargeback for the fraudulent charges from this place. I would not recommend.

Upon check in ( Stephanie is the kindest guest service agent i met ) in the room, Light switch with stains, crumbs besides the bed, hair on the floor, the room was not vacuumed. We were on the third floor, impossible to sleep too noisy from the street. Windows let the noise go through. Went to ask for ear plugs at the night clerk,didn't even removed his aipods and told me that I didn't know how to shut the window properly. It was closed... Talked to the manager Monica the following day. I didn't even finish to tell her issues that she offered me the room move, told me it will be ready soon. I was waiting in the lobby then went for a smoke outside, I've seen her going out and she noticed me and tells me that she is gonna be back in 10 because she has to grab lunch . I was speechless, we were waiting in the morning before visiting NYC and the FO manager doesn't care. 3rd night, went at the desk to ask for clean sheets and new set of towels. I spoke with here (manager) and she wrote it down and insured me it was gonna be done when we come back. Coming back from 8h walk, check into the room and nothing was done at all. This is the most careless management I have seen. After having such issues upon check in, you must follow up with guests. Nothing was done. Wifi doenst work in all parts. Disconnect every single minute. Disgusting breakfast, extremely poor quality. Special thank to Stephanie who seems to be the only one to care in this badly managed hotel.

Good location if you want to stay away from Manhattan. Close to subway, Good choices for ethnic restaurants nearby.Our room was on the street side and it was noisy. Next time we'll ask for a room facing away from the street.

Seven day stay. Floor in room was sticky, refrigerator never cooled requested repair or replacement never happened. Room service non existent ent. Night front desk staff extremely friendly and helpful, day staff not responsive to room issues. Stay somewhere else!

Situated reasonably close to the subway, with friendly folk at reception. Room was fairly compact. Shower water was sufficiently hot, if a little slow to warm up. Limited array of complementary breakfast items offered.

This was our go to place to stay for years and years. Usually about 4 or 5 times a year. Then they used it as a mens homeless shelter during covid and the place was totally trashed. The whole hotel would have needed to be renovated to fix the mess it became. I feel customers should be made aware of this fact before choosing to stay and sleep here now.

Just 2 blocks from the Queensbridge subway station to catch the F train. This is a solid hotel that is in good condition compared to many of the one-off non-chain places to stay. The bed was comfortable and not bouncy and the room was larger than normal. Room 502 had some non-working outlets and the AC seemed a little taxed to keep the room cool but overall it was a good stay. The breakfast was the same every day and the eggs seemed a little watery maybe like they came from a mix but the sausage was very good and so was the selection of muffins and pastries. The coffee was always hot and there was real half-and-half. The staff really makes this place shine. The front desk was especially helpful and friendly. We've stayed in LIC probably 5 times in the last few years and this hotel was one of the best values and an ideal location to catch the subway.

While front desk staff was friendly, hotel is in a terrible neighborhood- very deceiving from what is in photos- felt unsafe and asked to change hotels but was denied - rooms were ok clean but holes in curtains / chips in furniture, etc

Need to fix the homeless problem on the street in front of the Hotel...and the Crack dealers on the corner...need to hire more staff to accommodate the cleaning of rooms...and asking to pay for parking is a disgrace after paying $1200 for the week.

The hotel was nearby a Subway Station but there was not so much restaurants or anything nice around. the Hotel Stuff was mostly friendly. The breakfast room totally crowded. The second breakfast room was used as a storage. We had no room service in 7 days and it was not as clean as we expected. We could pi ca ck up some fresh towels from the reception. Our highlight of the day was the heartily Jasmin in the breakfast room. Always in a good mood and ready to help.

The location of the hotel is perfect since it is a 5-minute walk from a subway station. The staff is very relaxed, friendly and helpful. And Yasmin makes sure you have an good breakfast to start with. The rooms are spacious (to New York standards) and have wonderful views. The free water, tea and coffee near the entrance is very handy.

You might see unhappy reviews from previous visitors. I observed this hotel made a big effort to get back to normal from the covid dates, (it sounds like this is used as emergency shelter, like all other area hotels at some point based on the others' review) First, the front entrance and lobby area has modern design interior with professional and friendly attitude staff. member. My room seems like renovated, new floor and clean wallpaper. all modern interior. Comprementaly breakfast is resumed with hot egg/sausages. the breakfast room is run by a dedicated lady who keeps the items stocked throughout the breakfast time. Overall, I do not have any complaint, I would definitely use this place again.

The restroom is not clean enough and the toilet and bath shower is difficult to use. Also, maybe they can provide more waste basket cuz you have to walk around to throw little rubbsih... The internet sucks... The staff are nice and offering help at late night.

The facility was dirty. The curtains were plain of holes. Rust everywhere. You can find something similar in the zone for half the price. The breakfast was just some muffins, croissants, bagels, and cereal. And, overall, it looks like nobody cares.

Did not receive my 4 nights of points for my stay. They did not clean my room at all those four days. The mattress was one sided and sunk to one side. They need to replace the mattresses. They did not have much for breakfast. They need to go back to hot breakfasts. Covid is not going away. Other restaurants are open and serving hot meals so hotels can start serving hot breakfasts. The money I spent on this stay was not worth it

I got a suite for a very good price. The only drawback was the usual noise at times. But then again, it's NY! What can you expect? The city never sleeps regardless of where you stay! That's why you travel to NY in the 1st place anyway! Otherwise very pleasant & safe Covid environment! The protocols for the most parts were respected! The only convenient thing about this hotel was the close proximity to the subway. Other than that, the rooms were dirty and old. I did not even want to use the shower because of all the stains present. The service was bad. And the rooms are overpriced on weekends.

Hotel was nice, service from the manager Monika was bad. They double charged me for the room and didn't take responsibility or discount it for the inconvenience. It took almost a week to get my money back.

We used to stay in this hotel 4-6 times a year, every year, for the past many years. Will not be staying there again. Hotel is currently closed. They will tell you it is because of covid but I walked by it last week on a trip to the city. We stayed about a half mile from the Best Western. As I suspected, it is being used as a homeless men's shelter. The place, which was once a decent, lovely little hotel, was TRASHED. The windows are all broken out in the front (I was told due to many incidents with the residents.) I stepped into the lobby. So sad to see what has become of this place. They are getting paid good money by the city to do this but when they end that, this hotel owner is screwed. This place will need to be totally gutted to ever come close to being a nice hotel again. They dont want you to know this, Im sure, but I would never want to stay there again without knowing what has been going on there. Im so sad to see this, as my family and I have spent many lovely, memorable trips here. All good things must end, I guess. What a mess.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights during our visit to New York City. One big advantage is that breakfast is included in the hotel price and it was so delicious, great american food with lots of options. One thing I really liked is that the rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. One bad point is the location. The hotel is outside Manhattan, the neighborhood is a little strange but the good point is that it is only two blocks from the subway station. I highly recommend staying at this hotel because it is the best value for money you can get in New York City.”

1)damaged my bumper trying to get in a blocked drive way to best western hotel visitors parking.it was blocked by big black pick up truck. I informed front desk ,she said she will call them to move but then change the subject to being where i parked because parking is reserved. Which later that spot (#1) i did not see anyone parked there).then told me my spot would be #6 which was blocked by another vehicle which was so practically in both spots .was told she coukd get them to move after she asked me if i can fit,there was no way i could so i had to move my car a 2nd time to park in the underground lot.2) the room was not to best western expectations of cleanliness. The table was dusty ,the remote was in a slip cover that stated fresh remote,but had dry food on it with finger prints on it. The toilet had a poop stain in it and dry poop on the seat. We are in a world wide pandemic with covid-19 this was truly unexpected and unprofessional. Also half used toilet paper in bathroom and the tissue box on counter was used tissue stuffed back into the box.No complimentary breakfast at all,not even pre wrapped for grave and go due to safety reasons of covid-19.3) i got 2 full size beds not queen size beds as i requested and required.I was also charge $25 a night to park my vehicle on property which is total of $50 on top of my bill but was not included in my receipt. Why should i be charged to park on property if im a paying customer that is staying for 2 nights 3 days.4)there was a disturbance in next room with very loud guest that woke me up at 2am first night.5) the second night that same room was another disturbance which the cops was on scene at 4am which is the time i was woken up the 2nd night.i called the front desk very upset and told me that he can change my room tomorrow.there is much more i can't fit here.

We had good sleep accommodations and a well presented and prepared brunch. We had plenty of time to eat to meet our schedule needs. The bathroom was clean and roomy. Yasmin our front desk contact was friendly and helpful with our requests and questions.

We spend Christmas in New York and stayed at this hotel. The first thing we noticed was, that all the staff are doing there utmost, to make our stay pleasant. At the reception, but also Sultana and her collegues. The made sure, that our breakfast was more than ok. Every day the work with a smile. Thanks...

Hotel is nice and the rates are good. Sultana makes sure all the items on the free hot breakfast are refilled as needed. She is pleasant and professional each morning. We paid in advance to get a cheaper rate but decided to pay a little extra when we arrived to get a larger room.

The Hotel had a lot of advantages. You are very fast in Manhatten the Subway station is very close and it is Not so expensive. The breakfast is really Good and when you Need sth for example soymilk Sultana is always heelping you, she is a very friendly worker here.

Another enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room on the 9th floor had a magnificent view of Queensboro Bridge and Manhattan. The little extra charge for a room with a view is well worth the money. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast quality could be improved, though there is a wide selection of breakfast items.

Our stay was excellent and the lady Sultana was extremely nice with everything. She gave us donuts on the first day. The hotel was super clean. And the employees were really nice and helpful with everything.

I can say in general that everything was really good. What I liked most was the good breakfast and especially the very friendly worker called sultana who Helped the guests during breakfast time. :) den

This is a very nice hotel in Long Island City. The rooms are on the small size which is usual for a city hotel. Very good staff. The breakfast included a good selection of food. Internet service was also good.

stayed here for 4 nights last week,booked this hotel as it has close connections to manhatten and also because I could afford a suite being a best western member !!! the subway is only 200 yards down the road and in 3 stops you can be at rockerfella stop,i purchased the 7 day card for $33 and worth every penny as after a day using the tube its quite easy.back to the hotel at night could be a problem if your single and female,people do hang around the shop on the corner but the owner is on the boil and it never bothered me ( ive been to j,burg so this is normal ) and we did see single females about who were ok but its not for everybody as overall we didn't encounter any problems anywhere in new York.the hotel itself had everything we wanted,decent breakfast,nice rooms and good Wi-Fi,so yes we would def recommend this hotel. on the breakfast note sultana of course was great but its a shame more people couldn't spare a dollar a day for her as a tip,i did but I'm sure there were many more than didn't.so all in all a great cheap alternative to expensive manhattan with great travel links.took a cab back to JFK for $45 plus $15 tip so all good.

This hotel had amazing service, the food was amazing and they treated you great. Especially in the morning in the breakfast buffet Sultana was always helping us. The rooms were always super clean and fresh

When I got there, staff were very helpful and gentle. It is pretty close to a Metro Station, so moving around the city in Public Transport is very easy. The breakfast was great! Many options and staff were kind. The only issue is the thin walls between rooms, you can here noises coming from next door.

Old hotel. Cleaning is “ok”. Neighborhood is not very good. Not for women walk alter 8 pm alone, for instances. The bed, the heat, the bathroom are ok. Uber from manhatan can reach 30 US. But you Will be 200 meters from metro entrance

Breakfast was really good, great selection and Sultana was always making sure everything was topped up and fresh, she was very friendly.the hotel itself is very nice, rooms spotless. Downside I'm not to sure about the area,wouldn't recommend walking about at night.

This hotel is amazing. Room was clean, even smelled clean. Room was very well sized for NYC. Breakfast was phenomenal with REAL food options, not just prepackaged items. Even had two rooms for breakfast to be utilized. Thank you so much and I will be back.

Stayed here for a few nights... Nice and helpful, the breakfast is great, they offer great quality food, unlike some cheap food you get in most other hotels. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Sultana was great, She saw we were leaving early morning at 5 am and offered to give us some take away breakfast. We very much appreciate the gesture from this nice lady. There is a subway station nearby, and another one a bit further down the road. We had no problems getting back to the hotel late at night after spending an evening in Manhattan. All in all - I can really recommend this hotel! Read less

Very nice place to stay, maybe surrounding is not the best, but its very easy to get a metro, so it takes 10 min to the manhattan. Breakfasts are really delicious and Sultana is very kind and helpful person. Service is nice. I really recommend it for this price!

The train station is too close to the hotel and when you ride train you can get to the Manhattan in 20 min but the area is not excellent but is good and breakfast is great ,customer service really good and totally it's worth it for this price.

My daughter and I just returned from a trip to NYC and this hotel was the PERFECT CHOICE for us. Terrific, welcoming and warm front desk staff upon arrival. Breakfast was very nice and filling and coffee/tea is available in the lobby 24/7. We had a magnificent and CLEAN room on the 10th floor facing the city and we were AMAZED at the scenic view. The subway is one short block away and it's extremely EASY to get to the city and all of the NYC attractions. The breakfast staff worked hard to make sure tables were ready AND clean. Room was exceptional and modern-looking, bed was VERY comfortable, heat worked GREAT and the shower pressure was POWERFUL! This hotel affords value with NO resort fee and is on the outskirts of Queens and CLOSE to Manhattan! We WILL stay here again for sure later this year, BRAVO to the ENTIRE staff!

Fab hotel! Room was clean and a good size, powerful shower, hot water machine with tea n coffee, WiFi good, heating great and bed so comfortable. Breakfast brilliant start to our day set us up for sightseeing. Hot and cold water available all day in reception with teabags and coffee also. All staff friendly, reception staff helpful with directions and information when we asked them. Subway only 50m away. Small grocery store 20m away which does freshly made or cooked snacks and a couple of eat in or takeaway eateries.Did read other reviews saying that people had felt uncomfortable walking in the area, we walked about 20minutes from the hotel to try to find a larger supermarket and did not feel uncomfortable at any time. Would definitely stay here again!

There are a few reviews stating that the front desk staff is rude. There are a lot of highly praised reviews stating wonderful customer service. I can tell you that upon check in I was served the rude service. Never was I greeted with a welcome or acknowledged for my BW status. Instead I was asked rudely "are you making a reservation or checking in" I asked about parking and was told "$25!" I asked how I can park and if would fit a big SUV (Chevy Tahoe) . I was recieved with a "DOES IT LOOK LIKE I KNOW ABOUT CARS. I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT IS" and ordered her coworker to take a look at what the car was. Her coworker was way nicer than the one who checked me in. (Obviously hates her job with the long face she had) but anywho I was also served with the friendly, professional, wonderful customer service. Huge shout out to Lauren from the evening crew! Keep it up!

We were scammed by these scumbags! They tried to charge my card 3 times what I'd already paid on Booking.com, and they hacked into my husband's phone and computer! Our bank flagged the card use and reissued our credit cards, what a pain. If you have to stay at this hotel for some reason, do NOT use their Wifi. It is an open connection, and you will be hacked. That makes every other annoyance at this hotel small in comparison, including the RUDE breakfast staff, the super-sketchy area where the hotel is located, tiny toiletries that smell like lemon pledge, the strange itchy spots that happened after spending the first night there, etc. etc.

This was the BEST hotel stay ever~anywhere! Never had to ask more than once for anything. Everyone was so kind! Breakfast was fabulous and unlimited.Parking was additional and limited so call early the day of your arrival to secure a spot.

Good servis from the staff (Sultana). Plenty of donuts, bagels, eggs, pancakes, breads, pastries... You can have fresh fruits (bananas and oranges) and a few drink (coffee, tea, apple and orange juice, water, milk)

From the very first day, we've been treated with all the care and support from the staff, starting with Sade in the recepcion - the best ever!!! - from the breakfast team: Sultana, Jasmine, Harold - all of them very attencious and proactive. The breakfast was awesome, with a big variety of options. The room was very comfortable and clean, so was the bathroom! The hotel is pretty close to the subway station! The neigborhood is ok during the day and evening. But late at night - after 11PM, for exemple, it seems dangerous. We're surelly going back!!!!!

Awesome breakfast spread with lots of options, including fresh fruit. Sultana was super lovely. Hotel is well located close to a subway line and other food options. Luggage storage options available which was really useful too.

This is our second stay in this hotel. We had a good experience staying at best western plus plaza. Ayman was really helpful and friendly; he came over our room late at night to fix the toilet, and I met him again in the morning for breakfast and he was really nice and friendly with all the guests. We had a great time at this hotel and didn't have any problems while we stayed here. The few minor things that stopped us giving 5 stars here was the noisy heater in the room, the slow elevator and the plastic everything used for breakfast. The heater was good, the fan was just very loud as it turned on. We tried setting it to low but it was just as noisy as it was on high or auto. It Wasn't a problem as we just left it off when we slept. The elevator being slow was only a problem really at breakfast which cant really be helped. You just had to wait up to 10 mins sometimes for the lift at busy times. Breakfast plastic was the most shocking thing for me. I have no problem using plastic plates, cutlery, cups, bowls, etc, but everyday this hotel must throw away so much plastic. This is terrible for the environment! The hotel even has the environment signs in the bathroom about hanging towels on the rack to re-use, and a sign to put on the bed to re-use bed sheets. This just seems a waste of time when the hotel buys and throws away massive amounts of plastic daily! After reading through other reviews, people have been mentioning this to you for over a year and you have still done nothing about it. Please scrap the use of single use plastic for breakfast! Apart from these things, the room was very clean, the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We were able to check into our room at 12pm even though it says 3pm online. Breakfast was very good, a good amount of choice. It did get very busy but we were there at a busy time of year. The shower was good, bed was very comfortable and huge! Plenty of space in the room. Was able to hear the traffic outside which if you're a light sleeper, could be a problem. Its close to the 21st street queensbridge subway station (f line) which is a few stops from manhattan and easy to get too and from jfk airport via jamaica.

I stayed in Best western plus plaza hotel for 7 days. Overall it was a great experience. The front office associates were very helpful and super prompt. Ruby Cruz deserves a special mention. I stayed in room no 605 which had an amazing downtown view. I was also highly impressed by the breakfast spread. Kudos to Yasmin, Sultana and Ayman for their amazing service. 5 star to all of them. I would definitely choose the same hotel in my next visit. Keep up the good work. Thank you

Front desk, breakfast and housekeeping staff were all very courteous. Clearly a very cohesive and caring team exists at this hotel. While this hotel is a little older, it is well maintained. Kudos to Sultana, Ayman and other members of the breakfast staff as well as the ladies at the front desk with whom I interacted with. This was my second visit to this hotel and the high service standards continues to be maintained. I had an issue with the door latch during my first visit earlier this year and the issue was assiduously rectified by a very pleasant young man. The hotel location is excellent and is only one block away from the subway.

OK, understand this isn't the Ritz or Four Seasons. It is a nearby to Manhattan hotel for a fraction of what you would pay a few stops away. Aside from close rooms and a heating/AC unit that can drive you sleepless with the on/off noise, it is a perfect place to base your NY trip from. Subway is a short 2 blocks away. The hotel itself offers nice amenities, especially a free breakfast. Load up and you can make until dinner. But what I found most likeable about the place was its employees. I must say they were all friendly and couldn't wait to serve you. The room cleaning people were extraordinarily friendly and efficient. A special shout out to Ayman, who checked on me three times for breakfast and you would have thought was my best friend. Even in the elevator he exhibited the service and traits of someone working at a 5 star hotel. Thank you Ayman for a pleasurable stay!

Very good breakfast! Plenty of options of hot items, cereals, bread, etc. Accommodation good size, well clean, excellent King size bed, confortable mattress, plenty of pillows. Heater worked perfectly as well as the shower. Good bathroon. Location perfect, 2 short blocks from Subway and 2 stops away from Manhattan. We were very satisfied in general.

The room was in good condition and clean, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, but the breakfast was a real bonus. Hot items, pastries, fruit, and yogurt. Sultana was a wonderful host!! Helped us find a seat and kept the items stocked.

Stayed here for a few nights with a friend and really liked it. The staff is so nice and helpful, the breakfast is great and the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. In the morning the breakfast rooms tend to get crowded, but the staff will do their best to find you a seat. There is a subway station nearby, and another one a bit further down the road. We had no problems getting back to the hotel late at night after spending an evening in Manhattan. All in all - I can really recommend this hotel!

Metro station is very close to this cosy hotel. The breakfast was superb, and the staff, Ayman, was very nice and extremly helpful. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The coffee next to the reception desk is delicious. Thanks for everything!

In Overall it was a Excellent hosted. Including the amazing breakfast with the plenty of groceries and beverages. the only critics is about the elevator, because its is so slow and we don't know where it is

Being a hotel in NYC we expected it to not be the same calibre as in other cities, but it actually was the same. Rooms were basic, but decent size and clean. Lobby was a good size and the 24/7 water/tea/coffee was great to have. Hotel is just over half a block from the subway so ability to use transit was awesome and the neighbourhood seemed fairly safe. Staff was friendly and overall we were quite happy and recommend this as a base for others. You could tell there were a lot of tourists that stayed here too. Only two negatives were that our bathroom light above the sink was burnt out. I addressed it with the front desk after our first night, but it was never fixed. The other was that the breakfast seemed to shut down and be out of food 45 minutes before it actually ended and this was a daily thing. The breakfast bothers us as we had stayed out some nights and thus got up later and also found 45 minutes a reasonable time to still have food out, especially on a Friday when both breakfast rooms were full and we had to wait to get a table, yet no more hot food out. If the hotel had food out later, we would have been very pleased. Still a good place to stay and a great bas.

It was a very good trip!! the hotel is in a stategical position to visit Manhattan. It's just near the metro station, two stops from Central Park. The rooms are very clean and people who works there are very kindly, expecialy SULTANA who helped me in very difficult moment. We have stayed here many times and considered this hotel our go to hotel in Long Island city. As best western rewards diamond members we always got a very good room and were well treated. Not this time. Despite requesting a top floor room with a city view we were given a second floor room facing parking, garbage and the Sleep Inn. Very disappointing. Also the heat in our room failed to work in a satisfactory manner. The room also did not come with sufficient toiletries for 2 people. This hotel is no longer a the top of my list.

It was a very nice stay. The breakfast is good and the personal very friendly, particularly Sultana who was very nice and kind. The room could have better views but it was comfortable and quiet. They have free tea an coffee in the reception.

Parking expensive and limited,stain on carpet in my room asked desk clerk stephanie to change me as I had my autistic grandchild with me,offered me one choice but the sofa was also stained,was texting on her phone didn't seem interested or concerned that I wasn't happy with my choices was very unhelpful,with my family it was too late to go anywhere else,breakfast was crowded with limited space ¹

Comfy bed, breakfast buffet, clean everywhere and very helpful staff, especially Sultana and Ayman who were always lovely at breakfast time. About 10 mins on the F train into Manhattan so you get all the convenience without the noise. Would definitely stay again.

Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful! Ayman made sure that we were well taken care of and that made our stay feel more at home in a foreign city! The rooms were clean and really conveniently located.

We chose this hotel for a 3 night stay. We wanted an affordable option near NYC. It is very convenient to the F train, which made getting into Manhattan super easy. It was great to have breakfast included, and our room was pretty large! The only thing I would note, is the area is not ideal, there are often police cars near the hotel pulling people over, there is watch tower and the surrounding area wasn't ideal for walking late at night. All that to say, we felt safe in the hotel and never had any issues just something we didn't realize when booking. Overall, its a great deal for NYC, just be aware! :)

The hotel is close to the subway, and has great breakfast - I had good service from Ayman. For the price, I believe it is a great deal. Room was comfy and internet worked well. The gym is a bit small, but functional with jogging machine and some weights. Toiletries are not bad. Corner store nearby, with Subway and takeaway spot. Otherwise, somewhat empty industrial/automotive shop vibe around.

I visited New York in the end of October for one week. I chose Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel for three reasons: room has a fridge, own bathroom, free breakfast. Price is reasonable taking into account that the hotel is VERY close to the city centre and you can reach it with metro from only 200 m from the hotel. What I expected and what I got: I expected much less what I actually got. The hotel personnel is excellent, ready to give advise whatever question you have. Room was tidy, had the fridge and the bathroom. Everything functioned very well. The breakfast was a DREAM. From the very first morning Sultana took such a good care for me, remembering my special diet (gluten free) and provided me with the bread super quickly. The hotel is quite big so I was amazed how she could remember my diet. Kisses to Sultana! She is TOP!! The breakfast is excellent, many choices (though 14 choises more for "normal" without gluten free diet), juice, tea, coffee, omelett (this was my very very favour). I survived foodwise in NY just because of this breakfast. This hotel is excellent, price is affordable and location SUPER HYPER. Taxi from the JFK airport could not find this easily and I ended up paying 10 USD too much because a) he did not listen to me b) he could not find the place. Return to the airport was stressless, hotel has a good deal with the taxi company. I warmly recommend this hotel, super +++++.

Just 2 mins walk from subway. This hotel is also providing you a hot breakfast everyday. There is some local convenience store nearby that open 24/7. And also Subway sandwich. So you can feel safe that you will never runout of food at all. Win my opinion, this hotel is worth for your money to enjoy New York City.

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the subway which takes you to the Rockefeller in about 20 minutes and connections to most places in New York. It took about an hour and a half in total to get to the boat for the Statue of Liberty. There is also a bus near the subway which goes to Roosevelt Island, from where you can take a cablecar (yes!) to upper Manhattan. So although it's quite a long way out it has good connections. The area around the hotel is a bit run-down but we felt safe during the day and early evening. We booked a king room with city view, the view was fabulous! The room was comfortable with a good bed. What lets this hotel down is breakfast. The staff work very hard to keep food and people moving, but there isn't enough space for the number of guests, so we had to hurry up to let others sit down. However, the worst is that everything is plastic, the plates, the cups, the cutlery. It feels like a backpackers' hostel and makes the food taste terrible. Reviewers have been complaining about this for ages, it's unacceptable. Especially when the UN were down the road at the same time discussing plastic pollution and climate change.

We stayed three nights and really enjoyed it. The staff are very helpful, especially reception and the breakfast servers. The location is only a few hundred metres from a subway station that gets you to Manhattan directly. We also used the subway to get to and from the airport as well as to Flushing Queens to check out the real New York Chinatown. We did not feel unsafe walking around at night. The room is not too small and the bathroom is OK. The highlight was the daily breakfast which is quite impressive, although it can be quite busy at times and you may need to wait to get a table. The staff are fantastic at preparing food, and cleaning up - they really work very hard and it was appreciated. This is a great alternative if you don't want to spend buckets more just to stay in Manhattan.

Fantastic view, good rooms and a pleasant breakfast. But please consider replacing the exhorbitant use of single use plastics. All "crockery" and "cutlery" were single use plastics. from the juice cup, plate cereal bowl, forks, knives and spoons to the coffee stirrer. if your hotel has 144 rooms and average 2 persons per room had breakfast using these items daily 850 960 pieces of single use I.e recyclable plastic was put into your landfill. great that you are using water savings with your towels (which saves you money) but so so bad on plastics! please consider changing your policy here!

If you are looking for a great economical place to say in NYC - look no further. The hotel is just a quick F subway ride into Midtown. We stayed and saw Hamilton and went to the Dead shows at the MSG. The location is great and a very short walk to the 21 Queens station. The views from the Hotel are fantastic with the bridge and Empire State Building. No need to say in Manhattan and its much quitter in Queens. Very safe and staff is so friendly. We loved it. The hotel went all out for Halloween with great decorations. They also took time to help explain how to get around for someone who had never been into NYC. It was also easy trip on the Metro to JFK. Best Best Western Ever!

We stayed for 3 nights and did not have any issues. In fact it was a GREAT, CLEAN, SAFE, stay. The breakfast was good and the attendants were so genuine. Sultana found us a table and was very accomadating to my 6 yr old. I would stay again!!

Went on a 5 day stay in New York city with my 11 year old daughter and chosen this hotel because of the fantastic reviews and the subway being so close. Gotta say it was a perfect choice. The subway was less than 2 blocks away and went straight to Many attractions close by. The hotel had a amazing hot breakfast!! Sultana and Ayman were fantastic with getting tables cleaned quickly and refilling the stations fast. I was thoroughly impressed with the breakfast. Got us to almost dinner with how filling. Loads of selection. Would book here again if ever in New york again. And very safe area.

The staff = A+. So kind, smiles all around, happy place. Breakfast = A+. Real scrambled eggs. Constantly-clean tables and eating area. Staff serving breakfast really really professional. Hotel room = A+. Strong air circulation with no strange smells. Bathroom really really clean. Bed really comfortable. Plugs for laptop/phones all over the place. If not going to Manhattan, this is where I will stay. This place was a gem.

This hotel has one of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. The breakfast was also much better than at other similar hotels. Also it is only a few minutes from the metro station which takes to directly to Manhattan.

This is a very good base value base for visiting New York city. Don't be put off by it being on Long Island City as opposed to Manhattan, there is a subway station only a few minutes away which in turn is only a few stops from the Rockefeller Center and other attractions. The room was comfortable and a decent size, with a very good bed and pleasant bathroom. Free safe and WiFi. The free breakfast was a big bonus. Hardly gourmet food but Yasmin and co ran the breakfast room well and the choice was decent. This hotel is not in the most opulent area (which in fairness was perfectly safe) and the floor could have been cleaner in the room. But it was a very good stay on the whole.

The people was so nice, at breakfast lounge Sultana and Miriam was so kind with us from the firts day. They try to give you wathever you need. The rooms was very nice and you have everything you need there. You have a coffee bar all day long. The location was perfect. Two stops to Times square and all the lines of metro near to the hotel.

The hotel is conviniently situated 5 stops from Times sq. It is in an industrial area with nothing much to do in the area, but not frightening. Service is great. If the price is good I would return. I was shocked that plastic platrs were used for breakfast

Best Western Plus is a great place to stay, we stayed 4 nights and the service was great!. Rooms were very nice and clean. Breakfast was complimentary and good. Sultana and the other spanish lady were nice and friendly. Sultana took care of us even after the breakfast was over (9:30 am). Hotel is 5 minutes away from the subway station. There is a small supermarket less than a block away on the way to the subway that is cheap. They have some hot items for breakfast as well as a bagel place next to it. (did not have time to check them out) Front desk staff was very friendly, Monika is very nice. Will definitively stay here again.

This was our first visit to New York. After a horrendous experience getting through JFK airport we arrived at the hotel quite happy to get on the next plane back to UK. However, the check in process and welcome at this hotel could not have been better. Whilst we had prebooked a 'Manhatten View' room, Stephanie ensured we had a room on the upper floors which gave us a spectacular view of New York. We were given lots of advice on what to see and do and getting araound. The room was excellent and of a very high standard. Cleaned thorougly every day we were there. Breakfast was varied every day with food re-stocked regulary throughout the sitting. We never had any issues getting a table each morning. On the weekend it was a little busier but they have an overflow breakfast room to accomodate increased numbers. The location of this hotel is excellent if you do not want to stay in the hussle and bussle of central New York. It is in a residential area but we felt secure walking aroung during the day and in the evenings. It is about 5 minutes (if that) to 21st Street subway that takes you straight into central New York or about 10 minutes to Queensborough Plaza subway where the trains take you to southern Manhatten. On check-out day there is the facility to hold luggage in secure storage. Whilst the amenities and location of this hotel are excellent, it also has the asset of friendly and accomodating staff. If ever in New York we would choose this hotel again without question and would recommend it to anybody as an excellent base.

Way over priced and charged 25 dollars a night for parking! Smh. Then the taxes and extra fees plus an additional 25 dollars a night for parking. I saw the advertisement for 110 a night. I spent 190 for the night. Insane.

Services are great, crew are very helpful...lots of breakfast options and varieties to choose from. Our stay was comfortable and fun . Sultana , one of the crews from breakfast was very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful, breakfast staff was awesome, breakfast was hot and fresh, other staff was very helpful in places to eat or visit. only downfall would be the construction going on around the area and no shuttle from the airport.

Excellent hotel with clean, comfortable accommodations. Close to Brooklyn and Manhattan. Subway a block away and 15 minutes by Uber or Cab. Breakfast was always hot and varied in choices. The price will save you at least $1000 when staying a couple nights. Museum of the Moving Image is walking distance. Area industrial in appearance, but we felt safe and welcomed.

Rooms were dirty. I paid for a room with the “manhattan view” but I ended up having a window with a view of buildings and construction. My sofa bed had cookie crumbs and food crumbs . Bed sheets were dirty with stains I complained and no one did nothing about it . I ended up paying full price . I am definitely not coming back

Perfect property for budget travellers. Price is fair but if you get lucky you'll get an unbeatable deal. It's accessible to F line Metro subway (2-min walk) which can bring you to city center in 10-15 minutes. LaGuardia airport is about 30-45 mins away. Hotel is very clean and smells fresh. Room size is better compare to most city hotels. Kudos to Yasmine and the crew for serving excellent breakfast. Their staff were very accommodating. If you need early check-in, request and you'll be granted if the room is available. Otherwise they can hold your belongings so nothing holds you back from where you wanted to go. I highly recommend this hotel.

I wouldn't find something that good for the price they got me. it was clean, breakfast was good and varied, and people working there were kind. I Highly recommend it. the only thing that was a problem is the close metro station was under construction and had to walk far to the next nearest one, but that is not hotel's fault.

Underqualified lady name Monika Chahal absolutely rude, unprofessional who has committed multiple violations range from minor misdemeanor to serious multiple law and business violations something that appears on her nature personality completely inappropriate, furthermore exhibiting significant economic and moral burden on guests businesses interest. Thoughtless and inconsiderate other lady name Stephanie who is African American equally sharing interest maintaining their interests. Stephanie appears correct on the surface but is on the fact wrong,eager to instigate a problem between employees and guest most time she is seen depressive abusive with obscene language most guest condemned her actions that in notice frequent without prior recognition to business nor guest most her act without thinking. The third individual name Sharif is not impressive and showed no interest regarding business duty period. Salman is an ordinary person who has no possiblity of enough skills other than follow Monika's mentioned above abusive order. Their is an individual called Mustafah Hussain Syed assumed to be General Manager most of the time nowhere to be found, unfortunately over the six months assumed General Manager equally shared no power toward any wrongdoing nor exhibiting fairness to implement real improvident quality is needed. Most rooms has carbon monoxide expired and carpet very filthy and the remote controls not working because lack of power and the leaking sealing frequently notice. The luggage whether you are permanent guest or not can't stayed overnight, unless $100.00 pay in advance to Monika Chahal totally dishonest act and demands and more,and the list goes more.....

The hotel is about a 20 minute ride from the venue. On street parking can be tricky but we have not experienced any real difficulty in getting a spot the last two years. Restaurants galore in the area within walking distance.. Hotel staff is very friendly. Rooms are decent size, big, clean bathroom. Room decor is a bit dated. Decent breakfast included with stay.

Joined the Best Western rewards club. Lots of great features to this club including a discount rate at their Long Island city property. Great location in proximity to Manhattan. Spacious room. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. I would stay here again. Ask for Stephanie up front.

This is a nicely priced hotel, just across the river from Manhattan. I had a wonderful view of the city from my room. The customer service was outstanding, Thank you Stephanie! Rooms are clean, though could use an update, Solid experience for the money. I have stayed here before and experienced the same service which made me book her again. Very happy with our stay.

Checking in and out was really easy , here for business trip. Near to some restaurants and train stations . They also have breakfast included that was a plus. During my visit definitely coming back !!

Perfectly good budget(ish) hotel - you should consider this as an alternative to staying in Manhattan. Close to 21st Queensbridge subway (on the F line), so you can get into Manhattan in 10-15 minutes. Good to get an included breakfast in New York. Hotel itself is fine. Area itself is a bit rough and ready - not a huge amount to do close by. It is possible to walk to Long Island City for a bit more choice in terms of food / drink.

We stayed a family of five people. The staff wad friendly and the breakfast was basic and fine. There is a free coffee point near the reception. The hotel is very close to F metro line and it was very convenient to get to Manhattan. The room of 2 queen beds and a sofa was crowded for a family of five people.

The hotel was a great choice for us who wanted a comfortable bed, great shower, and good breakfast. The bedroom, as well as bathroom were clean, the bed was very comfortable, breakfast with a good variety. The staff was very friendly and willing to help all the time. The common area offers tea, coffee and water 24/7. It's close to a subway station (which we never saw crowded), and was able to make our way to NY really simple, fast and easy. We definitely enjoyed our stay, and are grateful for the great treatment the staff gave us (front desk people, and Yasmin at breakfast). We recommend it.

Comfortable stay . The hotel is 2 min from the subway (area not so safe by night). Breakfast was special and the staff was very kind, especially Ayman and Sultana. The room was clan enough. The view from our room was WOW!

I was pleasantly surprised how helpful and friendly the staff was. We had a large group, and they did not give any hassle in terms of storing luggages and helping up. I was very pleased with their breakfast. Definitely a cut above the regular hotel breakfast. Really liked the fact that their meats had alternatives like turkey bacon vs the regular all port meat, sausages, etc. Had great sleep with wonderful bed sheets, and their soap and shampoo were excellent. Easy access to the subway which made it ideal for groups.

The front desk staff named Ruby was so helpful and great. She knows the area well and have directed us to the places we want go. Especially in the city in Manhattan. The room was great and cozy as well.

We had a wonderful experience right from the start. The front desk clerk Stephany was excellent. She was very knowledgable and answered all our questions. She was very efficient and friendly. Our room smelled so good and was very clean. We also enjoyed the breakfast each morning and it was very well maintained by the staff.

My husband and I visited friends at the CCI Gods Family House 30-14 Crescent St in Astoria and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The free breakfast was amazing and the wait staff were very helpful. Most welcoming was Yasmi at the breakfast room where she welcomed us with a smile and helpful service. I would highly recommend everyone to consider booking with this hotel when visiting New York!! Also to visit the church mentioned above where you are welcomed and treated like family.

Great customer service all around! From the front desk, housekeeping, servers, housemen everything. I should have gotten names of all the people I interacted with because everyone I encountered was great. Jasmin was great with assistance during my breakfast, I had my hands full while I had my son in hand.

The best customer service, excellent food and respectful staff especially yasamin the breakfast host and ruby the receptionist.. I definitely will stay when I visit new York again God willing. Thank you for everything

We like best western plus Plaza hotel, good location (it is close to the subway Station), clean and nice rooms, breakfast was really good. Wifi Works very well. Staf were really helpful and friendly. We recommend !

I initially had reservation of staying here due to its out of Manhattan location. It turned to be very convenient with a definitely valuable cost. Breakfast service was also surprisingly good in a city known for brunch places. The staff was great. They were always welcoming and friendly. Sultana was particular amazing, who always had a smile and a calming efficiency you do not see often in busy breakfast buffet. Bed and bathroom were very clean. Only suggestion would be deep carpet cleaning or even replacement in some of the room. Bring a slipper just in case.

The parking was very frustrating and feel I should be getting some of my money back. The first day, I was told that all parking spots were sold out and if I parked in any of the empty spots, I would be towed because they were already paid for by other guests, so I was given a paper with directions to an alternate lot which was an open lot. No guarantee your car is safe and there were posters that tell you this. The next day I was informed there was availability so I paid and got my parking spot. I planned the rest of my trip around that spot because it was right against the entrance and elevators and since I had my elderly mother with me, it was convenient especially when we had loads of stuff to carry. I was only able to use my parking spot for a few hours because other people kept parking there and I was told to just go to the garage lot and park which I didn't know existed. The problem was that the garage also did not have spots most of the time either. I was told to just see if there were any spots and if there were none, it meant they didn't have any. On my last day, we had to travel an hour to Queens to stay the night at my aunt and return early the next morning to check out. If people can park anywhere, don't issue parking permits with specific spot numbers because that creates the impression that those spots are then PAID and therefore taken. I was only able to use my spot for about 3 hours.

On a tour of the US, the three of us checked in here on a three day visit to NY, sharing a twin double room. Although not in the city the hotel is situated a short walk to the subway where it costed $3ea per journey, regardless of distance. As for the hotel it was very clean and in good order, despite the outward appearance of the district. Special thanks to Stephanie on check in and Sultana in the breakfast room. Both individuals as well as the rest of the staff were very hard working and pleasent with it.

Beds very comfy, nice clean room and facilities, will return!! A good standard and well priced. Convenient to city centre and Manhattan. On site parking is available for a fee, but plenty of on street parking.

Good location, easy to get to subway, friendly personal. We had a great time in New York, mainly due to the nice personal in the Best Western Hotel. Always available when needed and specifically Mr. Ayman made our stay successful.

I paid to park on the hotel property and my car was damaged.The hotel manager reviewed the security cameras and confirmed that another car on the hotel property caused the damage.No effort was made by the hotel to compensate for the damage

We spent six nights at this hotel. Room was clean and the room service flawless. Both Sultana and Ayman did their outmost to make the breakfast as comfortable as possible. In times of focusing on environmental sustainability, we were however disappointed about the plastic plates, plastic cups and plastic cutlery which were used every day for serving breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay here, appreciating the convenient location 1.5 blocks from train station, the good breakfast and the clean, comfortable rooms. Ayman in the breakfast room was especially helpful and kind. The ice water and coffee/tea in the lobby were most welcome after a day of being a tourist and the check-in/check-out process was super fast.

Good location beside subway station 3 stops to become at Manhattan midtown Great job regarding welcoming reception stuff and the active door man. Appreciating too much Mr. Ayman who is presenting the hostility to all guests with positive activities during breakfast.

Front Desk service when we checked in was kind and professional. Sultana was very helpful to our family while we dined at the breakfast buffet! We would stay here again in the future because of the great experience Thank you!

Check in process was fine but the front desk staff did not offer option of underground parking, which given the size of our vehicle and the torrential downpour would have been more convenient. Safety latch on our door kept sticking making it impossible to to enter room. First time day of check in, Maintenance said would put in ticket but never did because same happened night 3. Very uncomfortable waiting in the hallway tired and wet and ready to rest. Maintenance eventually took off the latch which was a safety hazard. Coffee in lobby wasn't always available as promised and when it was often brown water. Carpet in room disgusting- hasn't been steam-cleaned in never. Decor of the room fine House keeping fine other than never bringing extra towels as requested. Bottom line: OK stay but too many inconveniences to rate higher. Needs a lot of work to bring it up to par with other moderately priced NY hotels.

Due to food intolerances I usually can't make use of included breakfast buffets. However Ayman was so helpful and proactive in providing numerous options and providing ingredient details. An awesome breakfast and great service. First time on a 4 week trip I could eat the included breakfast - thank you Ayman!

My wife and I stayed for 6 nights at the beginning of this June 2019. First the good things. The hotel is fairly well maintained. The rooms were relatively spacious considering that this is almost Manhattan. Kudos for the kitchen personnel in charge of the price including breakfast. I would say that the selection was adequate and much better than what I have seen in other hotels in the US. The personnel in charge of the dining room and especially Ayman provide an excellent service and will do their most to make you feel comfortable. For the hotel itself I would give a 3 star rating in an international scale.Now for the downside. The neighborhood is depressing and run down. The only good thing is that 5 minutes walk and you are in the subway and on your way to Manhattan , about 15 to 20 minutes away, All in all , a suitable alternative and reasonable pricing.

We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights. We were allowed a late check-out. Clean rooms, fully equipped, large and comfortable. The view facing Manhattan is stunning. Breakfast is very rich. The dining room staff is charming, caring and friendly. The hotel is located in a safe environment, on the outskirts of Queens and close to Long Island. Adjacent to the hotel is the Red Metro Line, which reaches Tims Square in 10 minutes. Close to the hotel is another metro station with lines that reach almost any point in Manhattan. Near the hotel are containers at cheap prices. In the lobby, there is a computer and a hot and cold drinking area. The price of the hotel is cheap compared to hotels in New York and especially in relation to what it offers. The highlight of the hotel is the reception staff. Stunning. professional. kind. They are the look of the hotel. Praiseworthy is Stephanie Gunson who has helped us as much as possible. This is our first visit to New York. On the next visit, we will be in the same hotel again. Incidentally, most of the time the hotel is full. This, in itself, indicates the satisfaction of those who stay there.

Yasmin was so sweet and helped us so much and made my family feel so welcome! She would help families find places to sit and make sure everyone was doing well. She has a very bright smile that is so great to see in the morning!

We booked a room very last minute so we could drive down to New York the night before our flight and get a full nights sleep (as opposed to waking up super early and driving straight to the airport). I picked a room with a city view and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was! The bed was comfy, we found free parking on the street right outside the hotel and we walked to get dinner and then walked around the Welling Court murals, which was really cool.

My girlfriend and I loved the breakfast, coffee, and friendly staff! Ayman was super-nice and very quick to bring us refills and take our trash away. Overall, we had a very nice start to the morning and we had a pleasant stay at the hotel!

Overall is not bad. Breakfast is pretty good and the service persons, Ayman and Sultana, are very nice and helpful but the dining room is pretty small. When the hotel is full it is hard to fine seats in the dining room. Maids always forget to give you stuff such as towels, soap, shampoo, etc. The price is affordable. They don't charge resort fee like most hotel in New York.

The rooms were very good. Nice people always helping us. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety, coffee, milk, tea and orange juice. For those who like a strong breakfast there was bacon with eggs and sausages. There was also toast, croissants, butter, jam and cereals. We always had water, coffee and teal available in the lobby. Fantastic. I think that was a very good option.

With the subway station and a supermarket nearby, the location of this hotel is very convenient. And I especially appreciate the free breakfast and complimentary drinks provided by the hotel, which have saved us a great deal of money. I would also like to thank Ayman, the staff who helps out during the breakfast time, for his great service. He is very diligent and helpful. Overall, it is a nice place to stay when travelling in New York!:)

We had a great time here. Good breakfast, close to the subway to reach Manhattan. We also liked the stuff at the hotel and especially a guy called Ayman! There is a couple of small food places in the area also.

Visited NY and one of the great things i experienced was this hotel, breakfast was really good and the portions too, our room was super clean and with a good view of the city, the staff was helpful and cool people, will definitely stay again next time i go to New York

As a regular customer, I have noticed that each time I return to the hotel, something has been improved. The attention at the front desk and breakfast site are excellent. The staff is very polite. Rooms are very clean and have a wonderful view of the Queens Bridge and the Manhattan eastern landscape. Breakfast is abundant and variated. I suggest to check the present Wi-Fi connection, as it was not working during my June 2019 stay, however it did (and very well) in previous stays. Neverthelss, I was provided with a cable to plug-in, and could work very well in my room. I recommend this hotel!!

Close proximity to a subway station, parking for my vehicle and free breakfast were the amenities that drew me to this hotel. It was a great base for my NYC excursion! Ayman did an excellent job operating the breakfast bar and greeted us with a smile every morning of our stay. I have food allergies and appreciated the fact that the items were labeled with an ingredient list. I highly recommend this hotel and would return again!

Had a great week stay at Best Western Plaza LIC.Could not fault this place.Clean,complementary breakfast,great friendly helpful staff in all areas,modern spacious room and lots of piping hot water every day morning and evening,5 minute walk to subway.Only slight negative as others have said is the location is not the greatest being next to a housing project with a few people hanging around but did not cause us any problems,also not many evening dining options within walking distance so plan your evening meals.But as i said a great budget hotel and will definitely stay again without hesitation.

Ayman the breakfast helper is great; he found seating for us and made sure all hot items were hot and refilled consistently. Getting into and out of the parking garage (sharp turn) was trickly. Folding side mirrors on vehicle in helped negotiate the turn.

I am very satisfied with the hotel and the staff especially ayman who is very friendly and eager for his job. Every morning we could get good start thanks to him. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who will visit new York.

I picked this hotel based on it having breakfast and in the price range I wanted. Despite other reviews of the breakfast being good I thought it was bad. Chicken sausage and dried up imitation eggs, rubbery pancakes, crinkle fries. There was also a rude kitchen lady too who yelled at my husband that we shouldn't have gotten our food before we found a table and that our food would be cold now when we eat it. She had just been berating her poor coworker when we walked in too. So most mornings we ended up finding food elsewhere. If you want a hot breakfast this is not the place. It is more of a continental breakfast really. The hotel is close to a subway station and the room was fine. Our views from the 7th floor were nice too.

I recommend Best Western Long Island City NY to those who want to explore Manhattan and don't want to spend much on very expensive hotel. Their rates is very reasonable, close to Manhattan, convenient and accessible to the subway. They serve good breakfast with variety of options. Special shout out to Sultana, who helped and accommodated us when we arrived few mins late at breakfast. She allowed us to get us coffee, juice and bread. Thanks again Sultana, you are an angel!

i want to commend ayman, who is in charge of the breakfast area, he did a good job maintaning the cleanliness and order of everything. he's always ahead of keeping the area looks good. keep it up buddy!

Upon arrival, the hotel seemed a little dated but once we were settled, the room was sufficient for our needs. Housekeeping was always attentive to our requests. The breakfast and the personnel serving it exceeded our expectations. Ayman and Sultana went out of their way to make our meal a pleasant experience. Desk clerks were also wery helpful.

This hotel was good value for money and overall a good choice for visiting New York. Hotels in Manhattan are very pricey considering you don't spend much time in them when visiting the Big Apple. I have stayed in other Best Western and they are a bit smarter. Lady on front reception called Sandra (I think sorry l forgotten) was extremely helpful and very nice to talk. She gave that extra special something that made you feel welcome. Thank you. The hotel was very clean and tidy, beds were comfy, shower was good too. We had a great view of Queens Bridge looking onto Manhattan; a nice touch. The hotel is situated very close to the subway to get into Manhattan and other surrounding places you may want to visit. We brought a one week travel for Metro $34 per person and we did not stop using it, definitely worth it and saved us lots of money. The area around hotel is a bit run down but relatively safe (just don't advertise your a tourist is a smart way to be). Lots of people selling things outside subway and on subway especially as you go into Manhattan but harmless and similar to London). The breakfast had a good variety and all staff hosting were very nice and hospitable and friendly (Aymann and Sultana). I was disappointed that the hotel had plastic knives and forks and plates for guests to eat their breakfast (very wasteful using plastic like this and not at all a homely feeling). To be honest it did put me off booking again here Sorry! Overall we were a happy family staying here and had a good stay.

the hotel is a little 'tired', it needs the services of an interior designer but is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. all the amenities are in good working order and the rooms very comfortable. the breakfast is excellent with a good range of food. the hotel is just a short walk to the nearest metro station and 2 stations from Manhattan.

Great hotel located about 10/15 min on subway to manhattan. Area where hotel is located is not the great but hotel is only 200 metres from subway station. Breakfast is fantastic and Ayman makes sure everything is under control. Nice shower and comfortable beds Good value hotel for a trip to NYC

Ayman was very friendly by Breakfast , the view to Manhattan is not like in pictures but is nice. The room is clean. Wifi also works good. The furniture is a little bit old. The stuff is friendly. I can recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! Rooms were very spacious according to NYC standards and they were clean. We wanted to avoid the big fees and hotel rates of Manhattan and this is the way to go! Free breakfast buffet is a big plus! Employees are superfriendly, especially those at breakfast. It is only a two minute walk to the subway station which takes you to Central Manhattan in just a couple of minutes! We definitely recommend this hotel and we will certainly be back when we travel to New York.

Having been to NY before, this time we wanted to stay away from the main area and “commute” into the City to see more. As you'd expect in December it was baltic, but this didn't ruin our time there. If I can, I like to stay in a Best Western as I like that they are all different from the outside. The hotel is about a five minute walk from the subway and the E line gets you right into Manhattan. Our room faced onto the main road and the windows drowned out most of the sound (apart from sirens every now and then). Breakfast was standard, (hubby enjoyed Fruit Loops every day!) but it alternated each morning. The staff were attentive and helpful, although you do get a card thrust into your hand every morning after breakfast to enable you to namedrop them into Trip Advisor! I can't remember their names...

Very friendly staff, at the front desk and at the breakfast bar. Ayman kept the breakfast area well-stocked and very clean! The coffee was great - an important issue when traveling! The room was small, as expected in a city, but surprisingly quiet. Unfortunately the carpet looked a little dirty.

It is a very nice place: clean, modern, and employees are very nice. Sultana is one of the ladies in the cafeteria that was working after the breakfast time near where I was working with my computer. The area ended amazing letting me comfortable about what to expect for next day. My room also was very clean and super comfortable!! Front desk people also were very efficient and nice

Is it a normal, but a little bit outdated hotel. The room is comfortable, just the bathroom, especially the shower is a little bit weird to use. The staff is really friendly and helpful. All in all is a normal hotel for the price (the price is really good for NY). Location is on Long Island, but you have a metro nearby (F). The breakfast isn't the best (we got old bagels and bad eggs - maybe we were just unlucky). Tip for the hotel: You should renew a hotel a little bit (especially showers and carpets in the room). What I really didn't like were the plastic plates, mugs and cutlery. This is really bad and really not earth friendly. We only have one earth to live on.

If you are going to NYC to stay in your hotel, this may not be the place for you. The hotel is comfortable and very clean, but there is nothing to see of interest in your neighborhood. HOWEVER, they are a block and a half from the subway, minutes from Time Square, and significantly more affordable! The room is spacious for NYC and they provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. The breakfast provided is plentiful and a great start to your day. Ayman took excellent care of us every morning! Everyone we encountered on our stay was friendly. The 2 small elevators did not prove enough at all times, but that was just a small inconvenience. Definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying again ourselves.

We have been traveling back and forth lately and this hotel was clean, the front desk was friendly and helpful. The only setback was that the bed hurt our backs a little! It took very little time to get into New York City.

Close to convenient subway, came from JFK easy 40 min ride on metro $7.25 and 2 min walk from 21st-Queensbridge station to best western. Good brewery's close by. If you have time walk to the park (8 mins walk or 20m mins walk depending which park) amazing views of New York skyline in close walking distance. Best western rooms a bit run down and small amount of noise from traffic but we were so comfortable and happy with this hotel. We were jetlagged and Sade checked is in early and gave us great advice on where to go and what to do. Really helpful. Room was massive, lots of space and comfortable bed. Tea/coffee much appreciated. Fitness centre small but all you need (if weather is good great jogging around area near water front). Strong internet. Heard that area seemed “shady” but I didn't feel that way at all. Seemed safe to me. Breakfast Ayman attendant did a great job keeping buffet clean and topped up with a friendly smile. Thanks best western. We loved our 1 night stay. If you get this hotel at a good rate go for it would highly recommend!!

Location couldn't be much better only several minutes walk from the nearest subway station. A second station accessing different lines is not much further away. Warm welcome from staff. If you have pre paid for your stay, ensure you have the card with you that you paid for the room. We asked for a quiet room with a view and we were given one on 7th floor overlooking Manhattan. Decent size room with everything you would need for the stay except a mini bar, but that didn't bother us. Room serviced daily. Only small gripe was a crack in the sink but like I say, only a minor thing. Sleep quality was very good. Breakfast was lovely. Something for everyone. Hot food menu changed from day to day. All breakfast items constantly being topped up and never short of anything. Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.

I'm Best Western Diamond Select member and was highly disappointed with my experience in Best Western Plus Plaza hotel. To start with positive note, I was impressed with Ruby at reception and Yameen in restaurant who shown high level of hospitality. My room on second day was not cleaned except for fixing the lining. The room amenities were not refilled. The checkout process was very bad experience with no-support attitude from Monica and manager that time. We enjoyed the NYC but not the stay at this hotel. I'll never stay here again!

Why should you stay here? 2 minutes walk from the subway which takes you to all the main attractions (less than 10 minutes!). Really friendly hotel staff. 5* hotel breakfast with all the American essentials - waffles, french toast, bagels, bacon, eggs, muffins, doughnuts and of course teas, coffees, cereal, toast, yogurt and juices. Yum! Bed was absolutely HUGE and so comfy, comfortable rooms that are a decent size, good bathroom with excellent shower pressure and temperature. All round we absolutely loved it (especially the breakfast by Ayman :) )

The breakfast was good and the staff was very very nice especially Ayman was 1very friendly and providing all needed ASAP.(Looking forwards to my pancakes tomorrow ):D The hotel is 2 min from the subway station but the area is not nice (more industrial). The window of our room was not good isolated so it was a little bit cold and very noisi.

Good value for amenities, decor, full breakfast, and location (close to subway / on good street for cabs). However, the really big take-away is the quality and care of the staff, who were professional and friendly, and always asking if they could help somehow and where they seemed genuine and happy to help guests.

This is my second time at the hotel. Love it. It's nice and clean with great amenities and conveniently located. The best part is the breakfast. The food is fresh and the cafeteria is clean. Love the hostess Sultana. She was courteous helpful and made sure I ate well. Can't ask for anything better.

We were just staying the night in between connecting flights and the staff was nice and were able to get us into our room quickly and efficiently. They offered complimentary breakfast and while it was not the 5-star breakfast you write home about as expected from a typical hotel with inclusive breakfast , the service was great (The bagels were awesome though!!). Ayman made sure we had everything you need, smiling while making sure everything and everyone was tended to. He made our morning special. Gotta love that.

We stayed 6 nights in this hotel. We choose this place for its good location/price ratio and it was great! The reception lady's where always very friendly and helpful while checking in and out or answering my questions about anything....(they can also store your bags on check out day till you actually leave) Room: Nice, big, clean rooms with very comfy beds and everything you need. Bathroom and shower where also nice and clean. Also handy...there is mini-fridge in the room. Breakfast was wonderful...great choice to choose from....hot and cold food with thanks to the nice breakfast employees Ayman,Sultana and Yasmin. Little note to the staff; please think about stop using the plastic cutlery and plates...less garbage and better for the environment ;) In the lobby there is coffee and water available day round. Location: Neighborhood is oke, never felt unsafe there even later in the evening and the F line is located just 150 m. from the hotel and about 10 min. walk away is also the Queens borough bridge station. Next door there is a little neighborhood shop, Subway and an Indian place. Conclusion: I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again :)

I booked this hotel for 7 days based on other reviews I've read about the breakfast and breakfast staff. Upon staying there, it definitely met expectations and actually exceeded them. They had a rotation on the type of eggs, sausage, or carb. For example, one day was patty sausage, next was breakfast sausage, and then a Polish? sausage. For carbs, one day was french toast, the next was pancakes, the next was waffles. Also the staff, namely Ayman, Sultana, and Yasmin, were very friendly and always double-cleaned the tables when you walked in and helped find a spot of you as it can get busy sometimes. The rooms itself were good and had no problems. Quick walk to the subway station with easy access (5 min ride) to Manhattan. Great price too

Yasmin was the so kind and thankful I really appreciated her service at the breakfast buffet, every one was really quiet and she just exuded personable and welcoming vibes. Great employee ! Hotel staff excellent made exceptions for our parking and worked hard to make sure we felt welcome in a city far from home. We thank you best western plus.

Great hotel with very friendly staff. The room is good in size, not very big, with nice furniture. The bed was good and the room was clean. Breakfast is good and coffee and tea is available throu out the day.

The rooms were nice and clean. The person in charge of the breakfast was very nice and was doing his best to keep everyone happy. I can't remember his name but he was young and energetic. We stayed 5nights and paid for car park $25 daily which is too much they shouldn't have charged for car parking as it's not a city hotel. We asked to leave our car for an extra hour as we were going out but the receptionist asked her to move our car otherwise we pay another $25 as our parking time was ending at 12pm and we wanted to leave to the airport at 1pm. I was very disappointed they just try to make money they don't care about their guests. No courtesy. I won't come to this hotel again for such a cheap treatment. The receptionist gave us wrong advice where to eat. We asked where can we find Halal restaurant he gave us an address of his friend which was 20miles drive from hotel. Later we found there were so many Halal restaurants within 1mile of the hotel. They shouldn't mis-lead people that rely on their advice.

Spacious (and clean) room for a NYC hotel. Good wifi connection. Great breakfast selection from porridge to muffins. Very friendly staff. A special shout-out to kitchen staff and Ayman. Excellent location near metro station. Only downside was that the door to corridor wasn't very soundproof.

Location was just 5 minutes from the nearest metro with a supermarket and a few restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were spotlessly clean every day, beds were very comfortable. The shower was brilliant, clean, fresh, white towels every day, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was a mixture of hot and cold, fruit, yogurt, juices etc. Huge thanks to Ayman in the breakfast area for looking after us during our stay and our requests! My only comment would be that as our room was overlooking the front of the hotel, it was rather noisy at times, other than that would definitely stay there again!!

Good breakfast; friendly service ( thanks AYMAN). He was efficient and fast. Room was basic, beds ok coffeemaker plus. Gym was quite small, but allways open. Situation was the main reason we picked this hotel.

The hotel is very good located, near to the metro and therefore easy to reach. The room has a good size, like described on the reservation app. The breakfast has a good variety and is very clean. We were very well served by Sultana, who keeps the place in order. I would stay here again.

The hotel is really close to the subway station, about 3 minutes walking. Excellent location, excellent rooms, excellent breakfast and excellent crew. A special thanks to Ayman, Yasmin and Sultana from the breakfast crew that always make sure that we had everything that we needed. Really lovely hotel, would definitely stay here again, rooms were of a good size, bed was massive. Very clean. Everything you need was there, e.g safe, fridge, ironing board, and hairdryer. Staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was ok, lots of choice, but a few times we had to wait for a table, as dining room is only small. However that didn't put us off. Hotel is close to the subway, around 100 yards up the road.

I was only for three days in this hotel. The service is good, breakfast is ok. The subway is only 150 mts away from the hotel. Queens is a good option to sleep in New York, with good connection with Manhattan.

Easy to reach by public transportation both from JFK and LGA. Only 2 stops from Manhattan. Very good breakfast. Street view rooms are more spacious and accommodate more people in the room 2 queen size beds), Manhattan view rooms (king size bed) are smaller but quiter.

The hotel is near to Manhattan attractions (20 min subway ride with "F' train). Breakfast is great (thanks to Ayman especially). Clean rooms & small gym (on breakfast floor) with complimentary water/towels. We'll surely come back on our next New York visit.

Fantastic hotel, brilliant amenities, the staff were brilliant especially Sultana who helped me out with my dietary requirement over breakfast. Tea and coffee available 24/7. Honestly its the best hotel ever and would highly recommend. its only a short walk from the subway which will take you downtown in a matter of 20 minutes.

We had a room on the 8th floor overlooking the road. It was a good size room with a place to hang clothes, drawers and a decent sized bathroom. The breakfast buffet was awesome and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel was quiet although there was a lot of noise from the road, we were so exhausted each night it didn't bother us but if you have problems sleeping this may bother you. The walk to the station is quick and easy, a little rough around the ages but we didn't feel unsafe. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Staff and friendly people. Great breakfast and close location to the subway. The area is being developed but it has really great surrounding neighbourhoods. The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean, although the only draw back is the lack of sports channels on the television but otherwise the wifi is free and consistent and fast, and the shower and bath is excellent. Definitely would stay again, a really solid choice.

Im visiting NYC for the first time and ima staying at de BWPPH, I like it a lot. They have a really good service, and excellent rooms. One of the high points is the breakfast, everything is very clean and tidy and they have also a very good variety to choose. We also lovely the staff is specially Sultana, you'll be lucky o catche her in the mornings.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Comfortable and kind people, specially Sultana, who did everything to have our best breakfast! The room was clean and staff cleaned it everyday. Place was very near to the subway station.

Very nice and clean hotel. The staff were very friendly (which is a nice surprise when visiting the stressed-out New York). Special mentions to Monika, Kim, Sultana and Matías with whom we interacted during our stay. The metro station (orange line) is real close and there's an elevator available, which was of great help if you are carrying large suitcases or have a disability (keep in mind not all metro stations have one). Since you need to take the metro to get to Manhattan, I would recommend buying the unlimited MTA pass for 7 days (or more if ypu need it). We got our money back by day 2. Avoid coming back late if you can, since the metro station can get a bit sketchy (we witnessed two fights/altercations in three nights). The breakfast was excellent, the best of the three hotels while we visited the United States. I hope they maintain this good standard in the future regarding the kindness and good work from the staff, as well as the breakfast. I expect to come back sometime.

Hotel is located in 3-4 minutes from a subway, 10-15 minutes from Manhattan by subway. Great breakfast is included. (Yasmin and Sultana asked me to mention them in review - well they were good in serving breakfasts :) ) Staff is friendly. Facilities are clean. There is a PC access with a printer in a lobby - handy if You need to print your boarding pass. I'd give the hotel 4*, not 3. I got a reservation with a discount and it was worth every cent I paid. Only one thing was bad - a very noisy A/C that couldn't be switched off while windeer time.

I have a relative who lives in Astoria & thus I make frequent visits to NYC. However, this is my first time staying in Long Island City. Despite the positive reviews I had some skepticism about Best Western. However, the reviews tell the true story. My first staff encounter was yesterday with Stephanie @ the front desk. She is not only very efficient, she is kind, helpful & has the most pleasant demeanor! Stephanie went out of her way to guide us on places to visit in the area. This AM we had the breakfast & the selection was much more & better quality than I've had in other hotels that provide breakfast. Sultana was extremely helpful, willingly offering me help as I fumbled with the microwave & later with a cane I'm temporarily burdened with, while trying to negotiate in the breakfast area. Ayman who is also in the breakfast area, literally ran around (as did Sultana) trying to make guests comfortable. They ran non stop cleaning tables & renewing breakfast items. May I suggest one please bring a trip for these hard working people (although not required), as I know from my relative, it's expensive living in NYC. These are 5 star ** employees that work very hard. Oh yes, the hotel! It is clean & nicely appointed. Furnishing appear new. We have a great view from our room on the 10th floor to add to this experience. I will return & I encourage others to stay here.

We have stayed here about 3 or 4 times. Consistently we have been pleased with the rooms; clean and comfortable. Excellent staff. Accommodating and pleasant. Hassle free experience. Sultana and the complimentary breakfast staff are great.

The rooms looked very modern as well compared to the other hotel rooms we looked at on the web.. another benefit of staying here was the free parking which is definitely a hassle in new york city!!! I recently stayed at this hotel on business, to do training for a local power station. The locale and convenience of this hotel was excellent. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Long Island City, NY for either business OR pleasure. Pretty much, all the hotel staff members were very friendly. a couple of them, not so much, but overall talkative. If I ever need to go back to this area, they will get my business for sure. Excellent breakfast bar and convenient to go to local places to eat. Only "REAL" problem I ran into was 'No microwaves in the rooms!' come on!! They are NOT that expensive...

I was staying here for two weeks and everything was great. Cleaning service is perfect, my room was ideally clean. Breakfast was also fine, there were many items to choose, even for vegetarians. OK, this is an inexpensive hotel in Queens, but we were really impressed by the job they do. Whoever runs it has managed to attract a really great group of people to staff the hotel, and everyone there seems very happy, upbeat, and happy to help you. We had to change reservations a couple of times, and they could not have been more helpful on the phone during that process. When we got there, they were equally helpful. The rooms are small but have a desk chair and a padded bench. Bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was very generous and quite good considering the price - free! Rooms were quite clean, though we felt the cleaning process left a little too much floral aroma. Another bonus is that the hotel is a short two blocks from the F train that runs directly into Manhattan and takes you many places without even needing to transfer.

This hotel is located very close to Manhattan with the subway a short walk and less than 10 minutes into the city. We had a view of the city which was great. The room was spacious with a good assortment of toiletries, tea/coffee etc. Breakfast provided a large selection of different things (the best we'd had in the 3 hotels we stayed at). Sultana keeps breakfast service very organised and tidy. She has a lovely smile to see in the morning and cannot do enough to help! Thank you!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 days and it was very nice. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and best of all the breakfast was top notch. We stayed at this hotel for the "Mickey the true original exhibition" and to visit New York. This is the second time we stay at this hotel and we enjoyed it both times. The room is spacious, clean and with all the amenities. Exceptional breakfast with both sweet and savory products, different every day. Very helpful and friendly staff in particular Ayman who warmly welcomes guests and he is attentive to every detail by maintaining order and cleanliness in the hall.

I leave around Boston and came here to meet my brother, I've been here before, but I didn't know about this hotel yet, I wish I knew sooner. It is located outside Manhattan, but all you have to do is take 1 train ( 1 block walking), pass I believe six stations and you are at downtown. I stayed 2 nights, and everything was very clean, also I called the reception to bring blankets and they promptly did, they were very clean also... But the thing I liked most was the breakfast, they had everything, from sausages, to waffles, fruits and pastries. And I have to mention this guy that was working there, his name is Ayman, he was very nice and helpful too! So in total I had a wonderful stay and definitely will be back!

The hotel was great! The staff was extremely helpful and attentive whenever anything was needed. The breakfast was done with effort every single day. The staff at breakfast, notably Ayman, was extremely attentive and helpful. The metro/subway stop is a short 3-4 minute walk making everything within Manhattan/Queens/Brooklyn very accessible. I recommend getting the metropass and using that for getting around. Great stay, highly recommend.

It was a great stay. The room was spacious and clean for a two-bed room. The bathroom was not as good though. There was no platform covering the washbasin to place my personal stuff. The bathroom was too cold compared to the room itself. One staff Sultana helped me a lot when I had breakfast in the dinning area. Really appreciated her assistance. Staff in general was friendly. I would recommend staying here if you are on budget:)

Very impressed with the staff in this hotel. Very hepfuI. No sooner you ask and it is done. From the reception desk to problem sorting - I cannot fault them. I don't have the names of the staff but would like to mention Yasmin who is in charge of the overflow breakfast room. My boyfriend and I absolutely enjoyed our stay. The room was big enough and the bathroom was quite clean. They were accommodating for my request of an earlier check in and allowed us to leave our bags with the reception desk. However, when we arrived in our room, the bed was unmade and I questioned whether the room was actually cleaned. Although, I did let the receptionist know that there is no rush for us to check in early. Overall, our stay was relaxing and we had a view of manhattan.

Arrived without a reservation on one of their busiest days of the year. No problem as this most courteous staff made me feel as a five star guest. With an unbelievable rate, accommodations, and great location in Queens this hotel rates very high. Great eats close by in every direction with access to the best subway in the world. And talk about a continental breakfast - you would not get these in hotel breakfast anywhere else. The front desk staff from Stephanie to the clean up breakfast crew headed by A'rman was superb. Look forward to staying there next time in the NYC

We visited New York for New Year & found the location of the hotel to be excellent. The subway was less than 5 minutes walk to the F line which went into Manhattan & was just 2/3 stops from Central Park. There were a further 2 subway stations within 15 minutes walk, which covered different lines & we used these to go to another part of Queens. The check-in/check-out was straightforward, all staff we met were friendly & helpful and our room was clean, smelt fresh & was comfy. The breakfast was super & all the staff were friendly, especially Ayman who was very cheerful every morning. There were a few places to get hot food in the vicinity if you don't want to eat out - our favourite was the pizza & chicken shop opposite the subway station - great food & very reasonable. The hotel had free tea, coffee & water in the lobby. There were vending machines in the hotel selling snacks & soft drinks. The room had a fridge which was useful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very comfortable rooms, the breakfast is delicious very American, the employees are very polite, I'd come back definitely, the only little detail is the cable signal in the tv was never fixed. It's located 1 block away from the train station, you're in Manhattan in 5 minutes and the Train F works all night. Love this hotel.

Our recent trip to NYC was a great experience - mostly due to the helpful and attentive staff at this Hotel. Monika and Kim at the front desk - couldn't be more welcoming and helpful to us. They should be recognized for their dedication and caring of the visitors that they encounter. Also - Sultana - staff employee in the breakfast room was so very accomodating and attentive to her customers' needs as well. In short - I would HIGHLY recommend this location for your next trip to NYC. Subway stop just a short distance from the front door.

We find a very friendly service at the reception desk, always ready to help, also in the breakfast rooms. We had many choices at the breakfast buffet and everything there looked very appealing. The chambermaids also were very friendly, the room was very clean, every day fresh towels.

Had a great stay here, Metro station is near by for visits to Downtown. Rooms are cousy and homely. Awesome Breakfast, Yasmin and Ayman both are great host and chef. Would definately recommend this place. Happy New Year :)

We booked an overnight trip here and some things came up in the family which kept us from being able to go. Unfortunately we didn't did out until it was too late to cancel (72 hour window). I called the hotel in hopes they could reschedule or night or provide a credit for the hotel, but they were not accommodating at all, and not friendly about it either. I got a very flat no from the manager. I do get that this is the cancellation policy, and that it's on me, but I would expect some level of customer service to try to make me happy or help me out in a tough scenario. Needless to say I'll be avoiding best western in the future.

Ayman is very atencious with us. It's all ok. The breakfast das simple, but have the necessary. The hotel is very good, the roons are good. Shower is ok. Good localization. The metro station is near, almost 3 minutes walking.

Comfortable beds,clean and quite, spacious rooms,cleanance could be better though. Bathroom with amenities including shampoo,hair conditioner and body lotion. Gym with the basics but good enough. The best with this hotel was the personnel who were polite and very helpful. Breakfast included, on a daily basis, one kind (different each day)of omelette, sausages or bacon, many kind of bread,cupcakes,pancakes variety of donuts, croissants,milk,youghurts,juices,marmelades,honey and cereals. Complimentary coffee and tea are available on the ground floor. But the best part of this hotel is the employee in charge of breakfast, Ayman who is really very helpful, professional and polite and makes sure that everything works the best for the hotel's guests.

Really conveniently located, one block from Manhattan subway. Got lucky with a parking spot on the street. There's also paid parking for $25 on the premises. 20 minute subway ride to midtown. Very nice free breakfast with fruit, bagels, muffins, cereal, hot pancakes, eggs, yogurt, etc. Jasmin was kept the breakfast bar filled and clean, all with a friendly smile. The beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was clean. The only issue was the balky heater. However, hotel maintenance came to try to fix the problem. They even offered to install a new unit at midnight. We decided instead to opt for a space heater and extra blankets. Hotel staff was friendly and responsive. Would definitely stay there again!

We chose this hotel based on convenience and rating. It definitely lived up to our expectations and more. The room was clean and beds were comfy. Breakfast was excellent. The breakfast food and staff are superb! This morning Saltana was over the top! Excellent service very friendly.Yesterday, we had a gentleman who also was super! It is obvious management places emphasis on customer service here and you are treated royally!

Sultana did an amazing job with everything. She kept places clean and the atmosphere very friendly. As soon as someone got up she was on top of it. Everything was full and warm. We weren't rushed and felt comfortable sitting there. We heard many people saying that she did an amazing job. She changed the channel for my boyfriends parents and got people to change it really fast.

Yasmin did a wonderful job and it was a good place to stay. They also provided free breakfast every morning from 8am to 10 am and the front desk were fast and quick to help if you needed anything and it's also less that 0.2 miles to the subway station.

The rooms are Very completes. Close to subway. Clean Room, the workers efforts to makes you comfortable. I dont see mahathan by my window.Breakfast its Specialized And the waiter Yasmim serve you always with a smile.

Everything was just great. Special thanks to Sultana, she made the breakfasts even more excellent than they already were. The reception staff was also very helpfull. Rooms rather tiny, but everything what we needed was there. Absolutely perfect location. The only trouble was reduced weekend subway service, which made the aiport travel a bit complicated. But again, hotel staff was very helpfull in this matter as well.

We weren't expecting a good breakfast since it's a budget hotel, but they exceded our expectations! The service was superb! SULTANA, one of their staff, served us enthusiastically. She was warm and accommodating. Definitely one our great experiences here in New York! Front desk staff were also very helpful!

The hotel was easy to find being within a two minute walk of the local subway which can have you in Manhattan within a few minutes. The city view room was epic especially at night seeing all the buildings lit up. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful with Yasmin and Sultana being excellent hosts, ensuring the food was stocked up and the dining room was clean. The Receptionist were helpful, chatty and welcoming especially Monika in the day and Ruby in the evening. This was a great stay, a very good price and would definitely return.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Only 4 stops on the subway to Time Square. You wouldnt be disappointed at all. I would definately stay here again.

This best western does not disappoint. The people are amazing, consistent and here to make you comfortable. Ayman, Yasmin in the breakfast room and Stephanie at the front desk all helpful and informative. The views are lovely, some of Manhattan. Many Europeans have discovered this spot. Had an awesome experience. Everyone was helpful and nice. Aymen was very helpful in keeping the breakfast bar area cleaned and stocked. The rooms were very clean and pleasant. Check in and check out was very easy and they were very friendly. We had a 4 hour wait for our train after we checked out and they held our bags so we can go see more sites. I want to just say that Shaday, Izza (GM) & Stephanie made my stay more the amazing. Words can not describe how these three people made it happen for me. Thank you guys for an incredible night! Stephanie made my night by giving me literally part of her dinner at no charge. Who does that anymore. Not that I was not willing to buy, but she said i could have Uber eats but she had food and she was willing to share and insisted taking what she was offering. Shaday and Izza (I am probably spelling that wrong) but this two people know what customer service is all about!!! Thank you team for the great stay!

this hotel is well located, all the staff is very nice, we thanks Ayman who is working at the breakfast restaurant because he was very helpfull and very gentle with us. he make us feel like at home. the front desk staff if very nice too, Monica and the two ladies working in night sift. the breakfast is amazing there is a lot of choice and very good food. the room are clean. we will come back ;-)

Ayman is terrific chef and host. Staff friendly and helpful. Property is close to subway so easy and affordable access into Manhattan. Rooms clean and comfortable. A bit pricey but probably competitive for the area. Would surely stay there again.

Excellent service and facilities of this hotel. The room was excellent for keeping the night. The breakfast buffet was also excellent as well as the services provided from the lobby desk. And the location was very close to the subway station.

The hotel is near a subway station and provides many good services. The staff was absolutely amazing. We had some trouble checking in (we booked the hotel, but gave a wrong name), but the women who helped us (Stephanie) took the time for us. It took almost an hour, but she kept calling other people from Best Western and even though it was our own fault, she did everything to help us. Luckily she found a solution and we had an amazing stay!

Winter Storm Avery came knocking and most all flights from La Guardia were cancelled on Nov 15 2018. Mine was among the last that was cancelled and so, by the time I started looking for hotels, all the ones nearest LGA were gone. On a whim, I called up Best Western and got connected to a person who seemed genuinely interested to help. She booked a night stay, and arranged a little food at 1 in the morning since I was hungry! Then, arranged a cab to pick me up from the hotel to ensure I reach my rescheduled flights on time the next day. All this from the same person - Ruby, at the front desk at the hotel. The hotel itself is in a great location - around 20-30 mins from LGA, and has all the regular conveniences including a nice free breakfast in the morning. But personalized attention to everyone and the service is what made this a 5 star experience for me.

It is an ok place. Perfect for tourists who do not want to pay ridiculous room rates in NYC yet want to be close to the city. Receptionist was helpful and polite. Hotel is small but you have all you need including two computers to work on however, in the busy and very small lobby, so no quiet time. Rooms are very small (smaller than most). Views are not as shown in pictures! City views are far and most rooms face other buildings. Area is not great. I grew up in NYC and I did not feel safe around there. Bed was comfortable and clean. Room rug had stains and needs a good shampoo! Hot breakfast was nice and average and abundant. Hostess at breakfast area was very nice and kept area very tidy even though a large group of French tourists were there between 10/23-10/28 and did not even put their paper plates in the trash cans! Hostess had to do it herself but was very professional and polite even with a group like that.Parking in the area is a watch out! Not best area. Parking at hotel is $25 per night. It served its purpose however, I likely won't stay here again.

Looking for a comfortable room with full breakfast, friendly staff and located one block from the subway? A beautiful view of Manhattan through the Queensboro bridge too? Well, there's a different “Plaza” hotel in the Big Apple, this one in Long Island City. For a few extra dollars we were assured a gorgeous city view which we got the second night of our six night stay. We watched the sun rise, the NY Marathoners run across the bridge, the Empire State Building light show, sunset, and the bright lights of evening right from our king size bed!!

We stayed just for a day but the hospitality by the staff was commendable. The chef in charge of the morning breakfast provided us with a wide variety which I don't see in other hotels. Sultana, the main chef was very friendly. Perfect place to stay when you want to explore manhattan and Long Island. Great job!

The hotel is overall clean and nice. Good breakfast and exccellent staff. Jazmin was incredibly nice even tho we did not speak the same language, she got sure we were always enjoying our breakfast and we had everything we need.

We spend onenight there, most best western hotel I don't like them but this one i think newly built it's very clean and service is great, they have nice breakfast. Only problem is problem if you want to park hotels parking it's $25 per night.

Having spent four nights at the hotel we can definitely say the staff here made the stay ! Our room on the 7th floor was in need of some updating and deep cleaning. There was a musty smell that half disappeared when we opened the window. We should've complained, but didn't - probably as we were tired and a bit shocked by the surrounding area when we arrived! Although the subway was only a short walk away the area itself was what can only be described as rough/rundown. I wouldn't have felt comfortable on my own there at night or during the day to be honest. We did witness a police “incident “from our window one morning, but you can't blame the hotel for that. The bed was comfortable and clean. The shower was a bit strange to operate but the staff were great explaining (we missed the instructions) they also gave us loads of help & advice about the subway and maps of the city- nothing was too trivial to ask them. Breakfast was basic and enjoyable - the pancakes were really good. On our last evening we decided not to go back out and were going to order some food to eat in our room, instead the hotel arranged for a local restaurant owner to pick us up & drop us back off after a fantastic meal - this was a great touch that was appreciated. In hindsight we should have checked more about the area and looked more carefully at the reviews, as we most likely wouldn't have booked nor would we return. But i would say the staff made the stay better and they can't be faulted at all

There is a reason this hotel is cheap. It reminded me of the roach infested places you see on tv. Please just stay away. When I asked the manager about a basic issue I was completely ignored shunned. I just paid my bill and filed a formal complaint with dignity but have to warn others of my experience.

Excellent location (though not glamorous), 2mins to F train, 10mins to Manhattan. Super clean, great rooms and fantastic staff, especially at reception. Great find for NYC. Comfy beds and great breakfast, including excellent vegan options.

Wonderful hotel very close to the city. Just 2 blocks from the Queens Plaza, and and short 5-10 minute walk to Queensboro Plaza. The room as lovely with a great view of the Manhattan skyline. Breakfast was wonderful. Great egg omelets with Feta and Cheddar. The Parking lot was a bit tight, but that's to be expected in NYC. I will definitely be using this hotel again.

Good location outside Manhattan. Two blocks from metro into the city. Great view of city on upper floors. Upon check-in, our room on an upper floor that I reserved, was not available yet. The staff held our luggage to allow us to head into the city for the evening. Upon our return they put us in a good room but moved us the next day to an available room on a higher floor to have a much better view of the city. Breakfast was decent. Parking was horrible - very tricky with a larger vehicle. Luckily we were dropped off by a friend and did not need to use the parking for the duration of our stay. The staff arranged for transport to the airport on our departure which saved us time figuring it out on our own. Overall the room was clean, quiet, roomy and convienient. There is not much to say about the neighborhood because we spent all our time in Manhattan.

A clean hotel couple of minutes from F line, which takes you to Manhattan in few minutes. Although i have read the review about their unfriendly front desk, We never thought that we will encounter any problem with the front desk. I wrote so many reviews about hotel we spent with. All of them are good. But this is my first review about the tragedy at the hotel we stayed in. We had 5 nights stay at this hotel. On our first 2-nights- stay, we had to checked out to visit another city. In the morning at 6.30 am before we checked out, i came down to make confirmation to the white lady in front desk wether we can store our luggages for 1 night then we will be back to stay for the next 3 nghts at this hotel. She ( i forgot to ask her name) confirmed that it would be okay to store our luggages for 1 night. Unfortunately when we brought our luggages at 7.30 am , Shade as front desk told us loudly that we're not allowed to store our luggages. She also told me that there's no one at the front desk around 6.30-7.00 am. She insisted that we're not allowed to store our luggages. Although we explained her that the lady in front desk before her has already confirmed. Both Shade & Kimberly --( another guest call her the ungry face) -- showed us unhelpfull & didnt care about our possibility of losing our bus tickets. Shade also called Monica , her manager to ask about this case. Unfortunately the manager also refused us and asked us to go to the Sleep in the next hotel to store our luggage. As we in a rushed to catch our bus, we didnt have any choice except to bring our luggages to the port authority bus terminal in a tight schedule. As mention in hotel facility, that they provide baggage storage. And also i read the review in booking.com that one of the guest was offered by the front desk to store their luggages while they were travelling out of the city. It would be different if the lady in front desk at 6.45-7.00 told us that we couldnt store our luggages for 1 night, then we would check out earlier to store our luggages at another place. And the most important thing is either kimberly and shade insisted that no one at the front desk at 6.30 am - 7 am. Could it might be a ghost? A ghost in front desk at this hotel? The hotel that has 24 h front desk how come there's no one at front desk around that time? Best western plus plaza in 21st street queens new york was exceptional for their unhelpful & rude hospitality. Perhaps, that's the way of best western plus plaza long island city handling their hospitality. We have travelled a lot, and this hotel is the worst hospitality we've ever had I just wonder, as international chain hotel how could best western plus plaza put people like Kimberly, Shade & their manager to handle the hospitality. But, all of the breakfast staff ( Ayman, Yasmin & Sultana) are very helpfull & welcome. Good job guys.

After a long day of discovering New York, we arrived at the hotel and noticed that one of our three shopping bags were missing from our room. We were of course very upset that a bag disappeared and we have reported this at the reception. She talked to the housekeeping, but they said they didn't take anything (of course!). We had no proof so all of a sudden we were the liars. This was just unacceptable!! We wanted to solve the problem in a professional and discreet way, so I was really disappointed in the way we were treated in return. Conclusion: things were stolen from our room and the hotel didn't want to take responsibility for what happened. Absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!!

We've just landed back in the UK after a 4 night break here. Like most reviews, the area feels/looks a bit dodgy, but actually, it was fine. The subway station is around 3 minutes away (Queensboro) with another on a different line around 10 minute walk away (Queens Plaza). $33 for a weekly pass is definitely worth it if you're there for 3 or more days ($3 single journey). At check in, we were given a subway map (godsend) and a sheet of top attractions, which was really useful for 1st timers in NYC. The hotel room and public areas were spotless,excellent work from the housekeeping team. The rooms were well equipped with most things you need, including hairdryer, free safety deposit box, complimentary toiletries, and iron/ironing board. We paid for a city view room and the view was amazing! Breakfast was a bonus, which when you're staying in an expensive city like NYC, means you have a little more $$ for shopping/sightseeing. Sultana was very helpful every morning and worked very hard. Checking out was easy and as we had a night flight, they allowed us to store our luggage for the day and booked us a taxi to take us back to the airport (took about an hour to JFK, but traffic was bad due to a UN conference).

When I started looking for accommodation in New York for our family holiday in September, the choice was overwhelming, but somehow luck was on my side when I chose the Best Western Plaza for our family of four. We arrived late at night around 10pm (3am our time) but were immediately made very welcome by the ladies on reception. Our room was large and very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a day's sightseeing. Every morning we looked forward to the excellent breakfast (included in the price) to set us up for the day. Plenty of choice with hot offerings which changed daily, all efficiently overseen by Ayman who made sure everything was kept topped up and tables quickly cleared. The subway is a couple of minutes walk away, making it easy and cheap to reach the various boroughs of New York. We would have no hesitation in choosing this hotel for a future visit to New York.

This was the first time we stayed in New York. We wanted to stay close to Manhattan without spending a fortune. This hotel met all of our expectations and more. It was a very comfortable room , very clean, convenient to the subway, and had the best Breakfast I have ever had that came free to the room. Ayman was very helpful in the breakfast area and Sade was very helpful at the reception desk. I would definitely stayed there again. The only thing I would warn you is to plan out you subway trains ahead of time especially if it is over the weekends when they do a lot of their maintenance. Other than that everything is great with this location.

This was my first time in New York and I was actually thinking about Homer Simpsons first trip to the big city but I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly nature of the people there. The receptionist at the front greeted me with a smile and bottles of water. Then being a morning person, I went down to breakfast 30 minutes before it opens, I was politely told by a girl named Sultana that I was early as they were still preparing for breakfast. Nonetheless she offered a snack to tie me over. After that when I went down during their normal breakfast time, she made sure I had everything I needed.

A big thank you to the front desk employees for their welcoming and customer oriented approach and to employees responsible for breakfast service. Ayman, thank you for repeatedly going beyond your duties! Breakfast was delicious, even better than last time I visited.

What a great hotel right near a tube stop and a great price we were severly let down at our first hotel and were ready to come home early from our honeymoon but then the two ladies on the front desk Monika and Sade made us feel so welcome that it completely changed our mind set and we were able to enjoy our last couple of days in new york what a credit to the hotel and city of new york those two ladies are they deserve a pay rise we will deffinatly stay again next time we are in the area.

The hotel is great, clean and safe, really close to the subway station. We walked to Manhattan... really close. The breakfast is great, people so nice,, Ayman and a lady who I don't remember the name.... There are not much places to have dinner around, unfortunately.

The room is clean and breakfast is simple and good. Ayman is the one on duty for breakfast and he went beyond his duty to help us fill our water bottles. He is friendly to my two young kids too. He made the day start off happy and cheery!

We can't complain in the slightest about our stay here. Very close to the subway station which brings you to central new york city. Breakfast each morning was superb. The chef Ayman was always so nice amd friendly and always happy to help. He made sure there was enough variety of breakfast each morning for the guests. He really made our stay 5*. Rooney!

We had a fantastic time in NYC and the Best Western Plaza LIC really helped make our first visit to the USA a great one. On arrival we were really quickly and efficiently checked in by Stephanie who was so friendly and gave us information on the local area and best ways to get in/out of Manhattan. Also she gave us information leaflets for the subway and various attractions. We booked a king room with city view which was great. The bed was nice and big and the aircon was fantastic. (VERY hot week in NYC!!) There is a coffee machine in the room which is great and we used this every day. The showers are decent and the cleaning is also very good. Nice TV with plenty of channels and a good sized fridge. There is also a free to use safe in the wardrobe. In the main reception is complimentary cold water, decaff and regular coffee and tea which is so good after a long day walking around NYC. There is also a seating area and an ATM. Also you can have your luggage locked away on check out day if you have a late flight to collect before going to the airport. Breakfast is decent and varied each day, and we were well looked after by Ayman who was very attentive and always greeted us with a friendly smile. He keeps the breakfast lounge clean and topped up always. The subway is literally a 2 minute or less walk away and on the way is a small convenience store for any esssntials. You have to cross the road once but it is not a busy crossing plus on weekdays there is a friendly NYPD traffic officer who helps with crossing. The F line subway takes you directly to manhattan and in 3 stops you are at the rockefeller centre, one more stop then its 42nd and times square! I must agree with many on here who say that the surrounding neighbourhood does look quite rough, however we had absolutely no issues whatsoever whilst we walked through there during the day or night. All in all a great stay made better by the Best Western Plaza and we would highly recommend staying there and would definitely be back again! Stephanie and Ayman should be commended for their efforts!!

My husband and I were looking for a hotel on Manhatten Island for a x5 night stay but couldn't find one which was within a price range. We finally found the Best Western on Long Island instead and were pleasantly surprised. The room is massive, very well maintained with daily room service. The breakfast was amazing with wonderful service from Ayman, even in the early hours! This hotel is a short 2-3 min walk on the subway which connects you to all the attractions. There is also a 24-hour fitness center which we used to not feel so guilty about the amount of pizza we consumed! Friendly staff, comfortable bed, great spot. Highly recommend this hotel for your next NY stay.

My experience at the best Western was very comforting and very accommodating. It is in a very good location, the subway is close by, and is easily accessible to travel anywhere. It is fairly priced and I highly recommend it.

I have some personal errands to run in the midtown, and booked this hotel about 2 weeks prior to the travel at the price of 109 per night for a room with queen bed facing the river. The room was clean and everything was in order. I checked in early (a little before noon), and it took about 10 min for the staff to check whether there was room available and was cleaned. The best part was that I could get into midtown within 20 minutes by riding the F line subway. The only thing that I'm a little surprised at was that the overnight parking was a little pricey (25 per night, well~it's not pricey, but feels somewhat pricey compared to the hotel cost), and I would suggest being clear about the parking cost on the website.

I came to New York for 4 nights with my son and daughter. Fab hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It is only a 2 minute walk from subway and although the area looks a bit rundown, we never felt unsafe. Our air conditioned room was on the 7th floor and had fantastic views of Manhattan. The price for room included amazing buffet style breakfasts with a choice of hot and cold food which changed every day we were there. We were really looked after by Ayman. I have never stay at a Best Western Hotel before but would highly recommend

The Best Western Plus was a very clean hotel with good sized rooms (2 double beds), and a big bathroom. The hotel offered a very adequate breakfast buffet as part of the booking. Wifi was excellent and free. Staff was friendly, helpful and sincere. At first glance the location seems a bit rundown but the area seems to be undergoing a bit of a comeback. There were several nice restaurants within a couple of blocks walk or drive.

I would like to highlight the staff of the Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel, especially the front desk staff and Ayman, who worked the breakfast buffet. They were all extremely helpful in choosing nearby restaurants, finding transportation, and addressing any needs. The included breakfast had great selections and changed every day, they kept the area very clean and was never short on food. They were some of the kindest staff I have interacted with in my travels! Our room also had an amazing view of Manhattan!

Hotel is good without being spectacular Rooms ok, but a little tatty Breakfast is ok, but very busy and little room Location is ok - but not in a great area Price was good in relation to Manhattan however I booked a pay on arrival room, and they charged my credit card straight away. BW customer services agreed I was correct, but did not intervene, which ultimately meant I was unable to access a better deal later on

My father in law needed to stay in a hotel in his neighborhood while renovations were being made in his apartment. King suite room was very comfortable for him. Ayman in the breakfast area went out of his way to be helpful.

Pros: Very clean, updated room; hair dryer, iron and ironing board; gracious, friendly, helpful staff; decent breakfast; in and out parking, near subway. Cons: Parking $25; sketchy neighborhood. We had to modify our reservations a few times prior to arrival, and the front desk staff was accommodating and friendly, with no extra charges incurred to change nights.

Perfect location near subway. A lots of variety for breakfast every day.Very helpful staff.I would like mention Ayman at the breakfast and Monika at the front desk. The cleaning service was ok and we had clean toilets every day.Although there has been a renovation some parts looked old and dirty (like carpets and paper walls). But we had an excellent stay near Manhattan with very good price.I would strongly recommend this hotel !

The best bed, linens, pillows ever. The cleanliness was fantastic and the gentleness of the attendants was amazing. At last, the breakfast was an experience it self: never had such a great break fast in our lives ;-)..it's truth.

The room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed. Room had a safe, iron and ironing board as well as hair dryer. The front desk people, Monica and Jackie, were very friendly and helpful. They do also offer a complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi.

Our room with the view on Manhattan was really nice and clean. The staff was very kind and concerned about our wellbeing. The choice of food in the breakfast buffet was excellent and Ayman always makes sure that everything was OK. Would definitely be my place to stay for my next trip to NYC !

The room was great! We didn't need our bed made and we just looked for the housekeepers when we needed towels. The employees at the front desk were all great and very helpful when we needed to know about details of who to call and where to go for our meals. The bed and pillows were perfect and quite cozy. We slept very well. The bathtub didn't drain very well but the shower and hot water was perfect.

We have been staying at this property on our NYC visits for many years now. When we first started staying there, it was a very good value and super convenient for our needs, The rooms were clean and comfortable and service excellent but the included breakfast buffets left much to be desired. A few years ago, they upgraded the breakfast to an above average spread. Over the past year, they upgraded to a Best Western Plus. Despite the uptick in pricing, the hotel is as good a value as it ever was. Remember, it's just a very short walk to the F train which gets you into Manhattan in just minutes. If you prefer a cab or Uber, you can get to the Upper East Side for maybe $12.00 (even less with Uber Pool). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful especially Jasmine (who has been there so long that we consider her a friend) and Lyman-Just a delightful guy!

Firstly I will deal with the negatives. not the best neighbourhood. its ok if you want your car servicing breaks done anything to do with car parts etc is all along the opposite side of the road. only 2 lifts here which can be a inconvenience at peak times (breakfast) Now for the posotives. the staff are superb,Stephanie ,kim ,& Monika were extreamly helpful & could not do enough for us. The rooms were ok .plenty of wardrobe space ,an excellant coffee machine with good coffee.,plenty of points for our electrical goods ,& a large tv screen ,a safe olso in the room & plenty of toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was plentyful all you can eat eggs, bacon, pancakes , Danish pastries. there is also coffee on tap all day in reception. The hotel is two blocks away from the subway,where you can be in time square in about 15 mins. there are no restraunts nearby but some delies to get food. All in all we had a good stay here but if money was no object i would stay nearer downtown. One last thing i must say in favour of the hotel & staff,is that we arrived at about 10.30 am & we knew our room would not be ready not only did they store our cases for us tyhey even offered us breakfast ,i thought this was a terriffic gesture.

This is my second review of this hotel as I stayed here again after one year. My opinion is still the same, viz it gives you the best value for money. Breakfast is very good and the location is excellent, 5 minutes walking from the metro station which brings you straight to the center and to almost any spot in Manhatten.

This is about our third time here, and I can't see us staying anywhere else in New York. The price is right, and two subway stops and you're smack dab in the middle of Manhattan (so to speak). The free breakfast is stellar, and Ayman, who works in the breakfast area is particularly helpful and eager to please. If you're staying in Long Island and you're not staying here, you're probably doing it wrong.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Best Western Plaza! We were in NYC for a week and chose this hotel based on its proximity to a subway stop and that it was a very affordable alternative to staying in Manhattan. We were a little wary of the neighborhood, but other reviews deemed it safe and we agree. It is next to a housing project but we never felt unsafe walking to and from the subway, even late at night. The F line subway is only a block away and in about 15 minutes (or 3 stops) we were in mid-town. It is also conveniently located near some restaurants and a deli. My husband got his NY egg sandwich fix at the deli next door and we got delicious Chinese takeout twice from Friendly's down the street. The staff were all very kind and courteous. In particular, Ayman in the breakfast room was always smiling and helpful. He greeted us each morning, made sure all of the tables were clean and offered to clear our dishes. He really went the extra mile! The breakfast was fantastic! Definitely the best complimentary hotel breakfast we've ever had. There was so much variety every day: breads, pastries, eggs, potatoes, meats, fruit, yogurt, hot and cold cereal, juices. Each day the entrees changed so that we weren't stuck with the same options for the week. The cooks really did a great job preparing the food! When we made our reservation, we spent the extra money for a room with a view and we were not disappointed. We had a corner room on the 9th floor (room 901) where the view from our bedroom window was amazing! The view we had of the NYC skyline was something we wouldn't have had if we were staying in Manhattan. Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself is quiet but you do hear outside traffic noises...to be expected in NYC though. This hotel seems to be very popular with international travelers. We loved hearing the languages and accents of the other guests, mostly from Europe. The hotel staff told us that 98% of their guests are from outside the U.S. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a hotel on future trips to NY and highly recommend it to others!

The breakfast is very good. Ayman is a very good stuff here. We saw him everyday. He helps us everyday. Next time we arrive New York, there is a high chance that we will still select this hotel. In general, a very good experience

We booked a four-night stay at this hotel due to its above average reviews. But ran into trouble since my husband not familiar with member points redeem procedure. He has been a Best Western loyal member for years and planned to use his points for the stay. Since he booked online under uncancelled condition and made calls to request points redeem,which the hotel wouldn't honour. They insist the online booking we did cannot be switch into points redeem choice which should be done via another special telephone booking system. We have called from Canada several times trying to negotiate with hotel manager but failed. My husband finally paid the whole amount with his credit card, even Best Western head office service center cannot persuade the hotel to change their decision. Besides above troublesome booking issue, the first night we were shocked by the noise caused by elevators next to our room. I had serious headache and could not handle the noise. After strong request, the front desk kindly helped to arrange we move to next hotel, Sleep Inn, for one night. And promoised the elevators would be fixed next day. And they did. So we dragged our luggage through rear parking lot back to our original room for rest three nights. What a dramatic situation we ran into! Basically the hotel meets all good aspects of other reviews; clean and comfort beds, various breakfast, good services and close to subway. No complaints. And thank all hard working staffs providing good services during our stay. But if the hotel can handle our booking troublesome more flexibly,we'll more appropriate.

Ayman is a best Waiter.Service and cleanliness are very clean. He is very friend. Good Job!!! Breakfast is delicious. The bed is very comfortable. New York is a good city. I will come back next time.thank you.

This is a great hotel to stay with family. The breakfast (free) is the best part and the person Ayman was courteous while serving and his hospitality was wonderful. The attractions like Brooklyn Bridge, 9/11 memorial etc. were 30 minutes when we took a cab.

This hotel has bedbugs! I found the one pictured in my bed, and brought to the front desk manager, along with all of the bites on my arm, neck, and foot. The front desk manager offered me a one night refund on a three night stay. BUT because I booked through a third party (Trip Advisor/ Agoda), they can't process until they had confirmation from the third party. So far, nothing. I honestly don't expect anything at this point. If something changes, I will update this review. Stay far away from this hotel.

This was my third time staying at the Best Western Plaza Hotel in New York. I had a great experience with the attendants on my third stay at the hotel. They helped me a lot, were attentive and efficient. Especially Sade and Jackie from the concierge.

We arrived here on a Monday and left on a Wednesday. The breakfast was the best I've had with these type of chains. In New York this is definitely a great place to stay for price you get a lot of value. As a value investor and student of Warren Buffet, I would say Warren would be proud. Lastly I want to thank Mr. Ayman, he was always so kind and helpful during our breakfast. He made us feel welcomed.

It was a surprise to stay at this hotel. We didn't expext too much because the price was one of the lowest in NYC area, but the quality in service and instalations is outstanding. Excellent service, the staff is very helpful, the rooms are really comfortable, one of the best things is the breakfast, it adds a plus to the whole experience, tasteful, with different food options and the dinning room was very clean. I declare it my home at NYC!

We stayed here as a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers for 3 nights at the beginning of July. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist and efficently booked in. Our room was clean as well as the other guest areas in the hotel. The air con also worked well in our room and was tested through a heat wave. I found the ladies on reception extremley helpfull and knowledable, they supplied maps and directions as good as any conceirge i have encountered! The buffet breakfast was excellent value for money and although tables could be limited at busy periods ,the kitchen staff that was there each morning who was called Ayman was so quick at clearing tables and replenishing food- We never had any problems and were really impressed. Well done ! The location is ideal and very easy to get in and out of Manhatten. Dont be put off by the neighbourhood as mentioned in other reviews. It's not the prettiest but we found it perfectly safe and friendly as we walked back at night. There was a small grocery store a couple of doors down from the hotel which was ideal for buying cold beers/drinks and snacks. I would definitely stay here again and would recomend for customer service and cleanliness.

We stayed for two nights. Metrostation 21st at appr. 300 metres from hotel and only 10 minutes away from Manhattan. Rooms are ok and clean. Personnel is helpfull. Breakfast - in relation to US standard - very good! Absolutely worth staying if Manhattan itself should be no option for you.

This was my second time staying at this property. It's two blocks from the F line and a few bus lines also run from the front of the hotel. There's several places to eat on the way back from an afternoon or evening on the town. The rooms are quite comfortable, the breakfast options are varied and accommodating of several dietary restrictions. The staff is professional and friendly. I hope whenever I return that I can book here again.

We're staying one night ! There was a bit of inconvenience when checking in, but the hotel Manager was very attentive and solved all our problems! Many thanks to the hotel Manager and the employee at the reception-Khaled ! I want to Express special gratitude to the worker of the kitchen - Sultan - very friendly and attentive ! We will definitely return to this hotel again !

My visit was great. Staff was very kind & knowledgeable. Location is a block from the 21st Street/Queensborough Train. LGA is within 5 miles of the hotel. Close to a few restaurants and a mini-market - which is open 24 hours.

I have never had disputes about a bill at a hotel, until I arrived here. I showed my email stating a quote for 3 nights, and they tried to get me to sign a statement accepting various things, including a new quote that was significantly higher (25% higher). I was told that I couldn't stay if I didn't sign. I signed, but bracketed off the new price, and stipulated that I did not accept it. I travelled 4,000 miles and reserved 2 weeks ahead, I wasn't ready to search for another hotel at this time (AND NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO DO THAT). I sent the email with the original quote to the office email, but got no response. When I left, I got another bill that was yet higher (over 50% higher than original quote). I again refused to sign. That new and higher amount was reflected on my credit card. I sent emails to the front office which again were not answered. I then sent emails to Best Western Customer service through website, but emails were not answered nor acknowledged. I called their line, but was put on hold indefinitely. I now must personally boycott Best Western. Again, the rooms were fine, It's near the F train. But something isn't right about the communications, front desk personnel and billing. One other thing: I asked for a room in the back to avoid traffic noises. They seemed to think they were helping me by giving me a “corner” room, which in fact did face the street. But with the air conditioner on, it was ok. The offer of a corner room further showed their lack of experience and desire to deceive rather than speak the truth.

We had previously stayed at this hotel and enjoyed the location, beds, hot showers and free breakfast, so when I had a girls NYC trip coming up I recommended that we stay here. The location is still awesome, close walk to the subway, and about 15mins to downtown NYC from there. Beds and rooms were great as well, hot showers...not so much. We made the hotel aware, and they had their handyman up to our room in recod time, only about 2-5mins since we called down to the front desk. It was a odd experience from there. We turn on the shower water, let it run and it got to luke warm at best. The handyman said that there was nothing wrong and the water was hot. I was so baffled, because he was straight up lying to my face. I even compared the sink tap water which was hot, just as the shower should be. I called the front desk again, explained what the handy said and explained that we were not taking cold-luke warm showers, and they offered to have us switch rooms, even allowed us to test the water before we aggreed to move all of our stuff. Thank goodness! The water was hot in the second room! The front desk staff were great! They held our bags on arrival, and on check out day while we explored the city and made the most of our time in New York. The hotel was fully booked because it was over American Thanksgiving, and the breakfasts were once again great. I think that I had waffles, freash fruit, eggs and made a yogurt granola chocolate chip parfait every morning!

If someone wants to avoid overpriced hotels in Manhattan, this is the alternative. The neighborhood has nothing interesting,and seems dangerous, but it is not. Nobody looking suspicious ever bothered us, and we stayed for 10 days. The subway station is very comfortable- only 4 minute walk. The only problem we had, was that due to station maintenance, there was no connection to Manhattan for two and a half days. We had to use the Queensboro Plaza station, which is about 10 minute of unpleasant (and a little bit dangerous) walk. Excellent WiFi throughout the hotel. The room was comfortable with all the necessary amenities, and the bathroom huge for a hotel room. Although the room was very clean when checking in, the everyday cleaning needs to be improved and I do not mean the floor carpet ( which could not be vacuumed with our luggage on it). The bathroom floor was cleaned every day except from behind the door, which was swept the last day (hair was accumulating there). The breakfast was very rich with a wide variety of goods. Ayman was welcoming and caring for everything. Front desk staff is very polite always smiling and willing to help, with Stephanie and Khaled to be my favorite ones. The free coffee, tea and water at the reception area, saved our lives.

Nice hotel, all staff is very friendly, great breakfast. Would go here again. We stayed in a double queen room sufficiënt space for 4 people an their luggage. Plenty glutenfree options to chose from for breakfast.

It's our second time in NYC and we haven't hesitated to come back to the Best Western Plaza ! The rooms are big, clean and quiet, the beds very comfortable and the breakfast is just amazing ! You have so much choice and so much to eat !!! Everybody in the hotel made their best to make us feel at home but we want to give a special thank to Khaled at the front desk and Ayman from the breakfast team. Ayman was very nice to us and more than helpful. And the second day we met Sultana in the other breakfast room and she was very kind to us too and very professional. So thank you to this amazing hotel team and be sure we ´ll be back :-)!!!

We stayed there with points. While it is a bit expensive looking at the prices they offer, they offer amazing service. The rooms were clean, we were greated with smiles, and were thanked for being members. I think the fd lady's name was Stephanie (I apologize if I didn't get it right), and she was amazing! So polite and knowledgeable about everything. Lovvvvvvvvveeeeeeeed it!!! Very close to the subway (one line is 2 min away and one line is 10 min away) so you can use public transportation rather than UBER. (I wished they offered laundry as we desperately needed it. :( )

While many hotels in Manhattan offer tiny rooms and no breakfast for a $$$ price, this hotel has big guest rooms, reasonable prices, breakfast included, and it is just two metro stations away from Central Park. It is really close to the 21 Queensbridge metro (F) and Queensboro Plaza (7, N, W). Another good thing about it: the beautiful Roosevelt Island is right in between the hotel and Manhattan (just one metro station), where you can go for a nice walk, and take the tramway over the East River.

I have a wonderful stay in this hotel all the Time The chief Ayman has made a real difference in the place when e walks in between guests and ask if any one needs help ?? Very Friendly, very classy and wonderful place to enjoy

We enjoyed our stay very much, location is great near to the subway ( 200 m) ,very helpful & freindly staff espacially Monika & khaled at the front desk & Ayman in the restaurant. Breakfast was delicious & a lot of variation everyday..we ll come again.

It's my first time in New York and decided to stay at the Best western here in Long Island City. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean. The breakfast was amazing. Lots of options. There are great places to eat around here. My wife and I wanted to explore the city but we had our luggage with us. Monika and Sade offered to hold our luggage for us until we needed to go to the airport. They even offered to call us a taxi. If this isn't great customer service. I don't know what is. The next time I come to NY, this will be the hotel I choose. Thank you for such great customer service. You've made my first trip to New York a great one.

The room was very large with King bed and a Divan. There was a Fridge and the Wi-Fi worked well. The F Train was about 4 minutes from the Hotel. The breakfast was good and changed every day. Monika on reception was very kind and helpful. It is about 20 minutes to Times Square. Would definitely stay again.

Near the "F" metro line (5 min by walk), the hotel is clean and with basic services but it's all ok!!! Not to much expensive and near the city. Rooms confortable. Very helpful staff (special tnx to Ayman).

The Best Western Plaza Hotel in Long Island City is a wonderful place to stay. The room is clean and comfortable, and breakfast is delicious. The 21st and Queensbridge subway station is close by and provides a quick and easy way to get to Manhattan; but returning to the station can be difficult after 9:45 p.m. because of subway repairs. The hotel is affordable, and a taxi is a great way to return after a late night in Manhattan.

Hotel is a short walk from the nearest metro station where you can board the F train into Manhattan. Rooms and breakfast are adequate, nothing too fancy but enough for us. The front desk helped us to upgrade to a larger room when we requested for it in the second night of our stay. Good service from staff. Great value on the overall. The carpark was very cramped and small, making it difficult for us to park our vehicle. There is nothing much of interest in the immediate neighbourhood and as mentioned by others it looks a bit grungy. But the major attractions are in Manhattan and you need to take the subway to travel around anyway.

Stopped at the Best Western Plaza for a week on our first visit to NYC. All in all the stay was good and the added breakfast and free tea, coffee etc is a good addition other hotels should offer as standard. The hotel is right near to the metro station on the F line which is really convenient and easy to use. The only criticism I have is the various noises the bathroom light, bath, shower and air con made when turning on and off. Probably wouldn't have been an issue but after a week is likely to get on your nerves. Staff very helpful and cleaning staff certainly do a great job.

Fantastic hotel, my fiance and I stayed for 6 nights, good size room, comfy bed, great shower, very clean, good breakfast, coffee in the hall was great. AC in the rooms was a God send. 2 mins walk to subway station and about 10 mins to times sq. Etc. If I am in NYC again this is where I will be staying!!

Just back having spent a week in this hotel and was really happy with everything. The breakfast in the morning was exceptional with courteous, professional and friendly service from Sultana and Ayman. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and spacious with air conditioning, television, safe, fridge and coffee making facilities. The hotel was conveniently located just a few subway stops from the centre of New York (which is not too costly when you buy a weekly metro card) and was quiet. Just be careful at subway stops like anywhere in New York.

As many people have already stated, this was a very nice hotel in the Long Island City area. The two ladies at the front desk when I checked in were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and a decent size. The breakfast in the morning was good. I would totally stay here again. The one issue I did have was that the neighborhood that the hotel is located in is very sketchy. There is a housing project just south of the hotel that you have to pass on the way to the subway station. During the day, I felt safe walking by it, but coming back at night, I did not feel safe at all. There is some free parking on the street, but I would suggested asking for a parking spot from the hotel. They do charge $25, and it's first come first serve, but given the area the hotel is in, this would be a wise choice.

We (my wife, my daughter and me) spent 1 week in NYC. The hotel is very close to the next metro station. A daily highlight was the breakfast. Super quality and selection of the offered meals and an excellent service. Special thanks to Ayman, I give you 7 points therefore. In total a very pleasant stay.

My son and I spent a week touring NYC. Stephanie and Samantha were fabulous at the front desk. Easy hop on subways to get everywhere from Coney Island to the Bronx Zoo; Times Square to the Statue of Liberty. Breakfast was varied, plentiful and flavorful!! This hotel was affordable to boot.

If you are looking to stay in NY anytime soon, Long Island's Best Western is the way to go. With a full breakfast, nice accommodations, and its close location to a subway station leading to Downtown Manhattan, this hotel is definitely a gem! The staff is friendly and willing too answer any questions you might have. Be sure to stay here on your next trip!

Best hotel in a the area for price, service, and location. Stephanie and Samantha made us so welcome, it was like being at home. Only issue is Ice machine is noisy. 3 Minute walk to subway then 15 minutes to Times Square. Also try the local ferry to Wall street.

Great hotel! The breakfast is very good. There is a 24 hours coffee station in the lobby with coffee, milk, and tea. All the staff was very friendly, the girls from reception were amazing, the staff from breakfast too. I'll stay there again next time.

I've been to a few hotels in my time across the world. This one has to be one of, if not the best I have stayed in. Located in Long Island Citt and what I would call the real New York. Real people around going about their daily lives. Free tea and coffee in the reception area, just what you need after a long flight from home. From day 1 and checking In, the staff can't do enough to help you. Friendly, polite and professional. We checked in to our room and received a call from reception to make sure everything was OK? The room was big, clean and had all amenities that you would need on a trip Lovely marbled bathroom with gels and potions that you may need. A shower to die for, not a usual hotel shower. This one has power and is enough to wake up any weary traveller. Breakfast was a mix of hot and colds, cereals, continentals and a varying array of sweet breakfast like waffles, pancakes and French toast, all served with Maple syrup. All in all, a fabulous hotel situated about 15 minutes from Manhattan. 5 stars from me.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Every employee was kind and at some point went out of their way to help us out. The breakfast was great and their staff was very alert and attentive. Ayman, one of the breakfast staff, held the door and garbage open and had a great attitude the whole time. I definitely recommend staying here.

We had a 6 night stay at the hotel from March 21-27. We arrived the hotel quite late. Check-in was smooth but there were several issues after that. First we spent two more times down to the front desk since the key cards do not work. After we finally got in. We found the door of the closet was broken, severely. So we visit the front desk the fourth time to get changed to a new room. Actually I don't understand why this happen. The door is broken initially before I move anything. So that must have been found by the housekeeper. There is no reason that the room is still assigned to a guest. Finally we got a room on the third floor. We don't usually like rooms with lower floors. But considering the slow elevators, it was OK. During the entire procedure the front desk was nice but still we felt that visiting front desk 4 times is neither necessary nor acceptable. The entire stay was smooth and breakfast quite good compared to the hotels nearby. The space for breakfast is also well-designed and large enough. (There are two rooms for the breakfast). The other main issue is that the wall is really too thin that we were waken up several times during the stay by the people running and talking in the corridor. Also, one day the front desk was crowded by people checking out and really chaotic and noisy while we were having the breakfast. In general the stay is OK. We appreciate the breakfast but there was a fair amount of things that the hotel could have done better.

My second stay at BW Plaza Long Island City, and that in itself speaks volumes… I chose to come back! Read my previous review for a more in depth account. In brief, this is still an EXCELLENT hotel for the price. Located in the Queensbridge area of Queens, it is just over the East River  only 2 stops and just minutes from Manhattan - and A LOT cheaper than Manhattan hotels. The rooms are of a good size, well kept & clean and the choice of breakfast is good and of a slightly better standard than what you would expect from a hotel of this class. The internet seems to have improved significantly since my visit in 2014. No longer did I experience a weak and unstable connection. I was even on the 12th floor this time and my connection did not drop once and I received fairly decent speeds. In truth, I would give this hotel an overall 5* rating. However, I am only rating this hotel 3* for one reason alone. The breakfast is good, the staff pleasant and friendly, however, I find the use of disposable plastic cutlery, disposable coffee cups and plates & bowls extremely unethical. Each morning just the waste created by my wife and I, on one table, was staggering. Multiply that by all guests, over 365 days, the breakfast waste alone from this one hotel is unthinkable. I've just spent three weeks travelling the States and I appreciate that it is not just this hotel, on the whole the U.S. seems to have a large waste culture and be some way behind the U. K. and Europe with regards to reuse and recycling. In these times where we should try and take a more ethical approach to living, I hope that the next time I visit BW Plaza (because there will be a third visit, for sure! ) I hope that this can be addressed and, the hotel can take the lead and implement a greener approach to it's breakfast. Other than this one negative, a perfect hotel in which I have had two amazing stays. Keep up the good work.
