Best Western Nottingham Derby

Don't bother booking this hotel!!!!! You can't trust that you will have a booking as our booking has just been cancelled. This is even after I called the hotel directly to reconfirm. I am so angry please don't risk staying here.

Booked with holiday extras, overnight accommodation with 2 weeks parking at East Midlands airport for £74.70 which is a great deal as it was more for just parking alone. The hotel just off M1 motorway and a short drive to the airport with plentiful free parking. Reception staff friendly as we booked in and went to our large en-suite room with comfy bed and free fast WiFi. A short drive away there is plenty of pubs and restaurants as the onsite opposite eatery is shut but the hotel are offering meals in a makeshift area.

Were booked in for two rooms, part of a family get together. They cancelled on us with only a week to go. We cannot find anywhere else so our family get together, first in about 2 years or more is ruined. Very feeble apology. Claiming government using the place. I do not believe this. I think they filled up and our booking was a good price and they could get more from a booking made nearer the time. Either way we are left in the lurch with a very feeble apology. Not even a voucher to offer so much off a next visit to a best western as a way to recompense us for our troubles. Nothing. Am absolutely disgusted. I work in the industry and know how customers should be treated. This is not the way.

Absolutely disgusted, just had an upcoming stay in November cancelled as they want to use the hotel to rehouse Afghan refugees! It doesn't matter that we booked months in advance, that this has been planned for a year they obviously don't care about their usual customers. We normally come here once to twice a year but won't be returning again now as it's been made clear our custom isn't appreciated or needed. I'm all for helping the refugees but not to shove everyone else to one side. We will no longer be giving our custom and money to any Best Western

When we arrived we git the offer of someone to carry our bags to breakfast in the morning all the staff are very helpful l and always on hand if needed. I can't wait to go back next year but I'm going to try and get to stay a bit longer amazing hotel.

We stayed one night with our small dog as pets allowed.The room was spacious with extra large bed ,large TV and tea and coffee.double shower .evening meal was really tasty.The breakfast in the morning was excellent.part self service and hot section the chef served to you.all the staff were so friendly and a family team which added to a nice atmosphere.The rooms were spotless .The other areas in the hotel were also regularly cleaned too .highly recommended.

We only stayed here for 1 night but it was horrific We were given a family room very worn and old The bathroom reminds me of a train toilet it was awful Beds were so uncomfy very hot room with no air conditioning the room was facing the motorway which was horrific because all you hear is the cars very very noisy Will not return

The room was not that clean. Toilet bowl and shower got many stains, towels got many yellow stains as well. The room was boiling hot with about 25 degree in the night time where out side was just about 15 degree. Heating was broken which meant we could not adjust the temperature. Windows could not be opened as there was a very loud noise out side, loud as we were sleeping on the high way road. Staff could not do anything about it, so she told us to use a fan in the room. That night was our nightmare. We left the hotel more tired than when we arrived

To be honest the staff are really helpful Monica especially, who called to say we had left a bag in the dining room which was much appreciated. In addition she was extremely helpful when I explained our ground floor room must have a travelling circus above us ! the noise was incessant. Monica did offer to move us to another room, however it was on the ground floor and there was no guarantee we wouldn't encounter the same experience. So I decided to stay in our allotted room, thinking surely it cant go on much longer. Unfortunately our sleep was not good due to the noise and also the fact that the bed had a very soft mattress. ( maybe I should have moved in hindsight) . Facilities are what you would expect in a motel of this price so no real moan on that part. Food was average with polite waitresses ect. The convenience of the M 1 motorway was the attraction to stay here however maybe next time I will look further into the city of Nottingham. To conclude its OK for a one night stay if you want easy access to the M1, however make sure you are not put on the ground floor or you will pulling your hair out !

Hotel is between two noisy roads, M1 on one side and 40 miles speed limit dual carriage way with no speed cameras on the other side. There is no air conditioning in rooms so no chance of having good night sleep due to noise (if you open the window) and muggy if you don't open the windows. Breakfast was full English with some limited options e.g no hot chocolate or decaf option, had much better breakfast experience at Novotel right opposite.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Electric car charging was superb. All needs were perfectly met from arranging adjoining rooms to accommodating our nervous dog. Would definitely stay again.

A functional hôtel saved by fantastic staff. This hotel is dated - beyond the reception area. It needs a serious refurbishment, and, though all the obvious Covid-secure measures were done well, it could do with a deep clean. Breakfast was functional but dated - come on owners, how much would a couple of coffee machines cost? The building is hot (like so many hotels) from inadequate ventilation… it's not air con that's needed - just a bit of corridor airflow and windows that ventilate even when secure. It needs urgent and large scale investment. Would I stay again? I probably would you know; the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. So come on owners, sort out your infrastructure and facilities. Thank you to all the frontline staff who were great!

Booked a family room for 3 of us to attend a cricket Test match at nearby Trent Bridge. Excellent value and very filling buffet breakfast all at a great price for 2 nights in August 2021. Easy to reach from the adjacent motorway.

The room, old furnished and not very clean, was right under the roof and it was an oven (July), with no air conditioning and the windows on the highway. We couldn't breathe or sleep due to the heat. We asked to find a solution but they did nothing to solve the problem, saying it was due to the weather, but we slept in other hotels before and after and didn't experienced such terrible discomfort. Never again.

This hotel was excellent to visit the Uni and en route to our holiday. Excellent service. Friendly staff. Lovely clean and spacious room. Lovely dinner at the restaurant. Great value for money, with good amenities.

We stayed at The Best Western at the weekend, and were blown away by the amazing staff at the Hotel, Chloe on reception was amazing with no request or question any trouble - what an amazing young women (who clearly loves her job and is a breath of fresh air). The ladies working in the Kitchen / Restaurant were also amazing - thnak you guys!

We checked in to find the upstairs family rooms to be unbelievable warm on a mild day. The thermostat read 29 degrees with then window off. We were provided a fan and some ice bit no other rooms were avaliable unless we were prepared to split up from our kids (1 and 3) The lady on reception was pleasant but unable to help with any solutions. Needless to say it was a rough nignts kip!

Wonderful attentive staff who made our stay very enjoyable. Leanne, Natalie, Chris and Libby in the restaurant were all amazing and work so hard, always with a smile. Service was great, not easy with The Grill being closed temporarily but they made it work for everyone

We stayed a week just at the beginning of release from covid restrictions for restaurants. We were unsure if they could serve breakfast when we booked. To our enjoyment there was full English breakfast with other complimentary offerings. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We were welcomed everytime we came in or down for breakfast. The chefs were always smiling and provided an excellent service even under pressure with such a small kitchen. Our last day everyone turned up at the same time for breakfast but they kept their cool. The rooms could do with an upgrade. Would have liked a bath in the family room but coped with bathing our little one next to the sink. Thanks to all the staff.

I booked this hotel at late notice as my usual was booked already, this was cheap at £42. The exterior looks drab but when you enter the hotel you can see that it has had a recent refurb. The rooms top look a little dated but not terrible. My main issues was the first room I had an infestation of Ants, the second had plumbing leaks and was really noisy.

Friendly staff.I would recommend it. Close to the motorway and not too far to Alton Towers we had a good sleepover.Fair price for my familly two adults and two kids. We could not ask for anymore. Quiet place

Generally clean and great value for money. Facilities adequate and strict adherence to covid rules. Receptionist was very warm, polite and attentive. Breakfast was a takeaway bag, which if known would not have added on.

Really needs updating and a good clean, dirty mattress/quilts, substances on walls and skirting boards, shower outdated, have to turn the bathroom light on at the same time as the sink light (sink is outside bathroom) which then turns on the fan and doesn't go off for around half hour not ideal if you're just about to go to bed. Food menu is poor choice and poor quality, bland microwave style food. Had to pay £3 for food to be brought up, understandable if we weren't ons pandemic, during corona other hotels are waving this fee to reduce the amount walking around and in certain areas

Impressed with the size of the room for what we paid for 4 adults and 2 dogs ! Bathroom could do with updating but shower was spacious piping hot and good. Current breakfast option obviously limited. What we had was of good quality but pricey for 4 each morning so we bought supplies locally. Reception staff were very helpful, professional and friendly.

The hotel is lovely, the rooms are very spacious and clean, the adapted room was suitable. Upon arrival we were told that breakfast was a grab and go continental with a sausage or bacon cob, (turns out it was just the cob, a danish, 2 pieces of fruit, a small yoghurt, coffee & orange juice carton), even though the restaurant is open and other establishments such as the ibis and premier inn are serving fully cooked breakfasts, we had not been told of this before and were not offered any money back so were still made to pay the same as we would have done for a full all you can eat cooked breakfast, continental and drinks, save your money and eat breakfast at a local restaurant or supermarket. We were not told until we enquired that we had to collect our breakfast in the lounge and that check out was at 10 am (way too early) wish we'd have slept longer and eaten breakfast out. We had booked a table in the restaurant but were not told before hand that they had a limited menu, there was hardly any choice with one member of our party only having fries as there was nothing else on there she liked, maybe try serving popular simple food such as burger, chicken burger, pasta, fish and chips instead of spicy hot bbq beef with jalapeños mixed in the sauce. The only plus side was the lady who served us, she was lovely, very friendly and helpful. Had we known about this limited menu before hand we would have booked elsewhere for dinner. While these covid restrictions are in place I will either sleep here and eat elsewhere or stay somewhere else such as an ibis or premier inn, which is such a pity as the hotel is lovely and under normal food sevice had been a great place to stay

The room is good for the price. The motorway is close by so can hear road noise but that is expected. My only real gripe is that they do not have usb sockets in the room. I had forgotten my plug for my phone so only had the cable. The room was comfortable and of a nice standard. The room had a kettle but no mugs or drinks,there was water and biscuits though.

As the title says this hotel was OK providing the room was not M1 side but now there is only one receptionist doing everything. she is overworked. Bed was good but no tea and coffee making facilities. kettle still there so as to make tea when the collect the breakfast in a bag! they will not deliver as no staff.

took a trip to Nottingham with my partner and teenage niece, the hotel was lovely, the room was very spacious, clean an accomodating, the staff where on hand 24/7 to help and advise where they could, overall a lovely trip

Stayed here for 2 nights the staff were very helpful and accommodating where possible in these uncertain times. The bed was really comfy and the room had everything we needed including an iron, hair dryer and towels provided.

We had stayed here a couple of years ago and had been impressed with our room and the modern reception area. On this basis we booked it again for an overnight stay visiting friends this weekend. We were very disappointed. The room was very basic, soulless even. There wasn't a proper bathroom, but a sink in the room and then what can only be described as a cupboard with a toilet and shower. The sink and shower were both very stained. The shower needed deep cleaning. There was a kettle in the room, but no cups, or tea and coffee. We had to go and ask for them. We were told it was a quiet room but it overlooked the motorway so we had to keep the windows closed. Carpets throughout the hotel were filthy. On a positive note, the staff were pleasant. Best Western need to up their game if they are going to compete with Premier Inn

We visit Long Eaton for a long weekend every couple of months to see family and friends that are local. We have stayed at Best Western Derby every time and this will never change. We did try the novetel across the road once however that was so bad! BW Derby is clean, tidy and the staff are friendly and very approachable. Food at the Grill is always nice and freshly cooked. We was very disappointed when we had to cancel our March 2020 visit when COVID-19 locked us down. So next trip is August and we cannot wait See you soon!

Stayed here for one night as travelling back from London and needed a stop off. The place was ok had a flight of stairs to get to bedroom. Bathroom was dirty so wasnt impressed, pretty grubby hotel to be honest. Paid nearly £20 for two people for breakfast next morning which you had to walk across car park to a grill cafe to get your breakfast as this wasn't in hotel. The Grill cafe was unclean and I didn't make much of the breakfast as the food especially the bacon was brown grey colour. As you can imagine i didn't eat that wont stay again

Enjoyed our stay very much . Everything was as we expected. The room was clean and very quiet as the motorway was very close but couldn't hear the traffic at all. The breakfast was very good ,plenty of choice and nice and fresh.

We were a family of 4 that booked last minute as we were in need of a local hotel to where we were heading to in the morning. The hotel is quite nice as you approach the reception. We went to our room and at first the room was a nice size with a double bed and 2 singles. There was quite a bit of dust could of done with a better clean. There was a big tv and we were waiting to settle down and watch something however, no lead to connect to the ariel. It was disappointing as we couldn't even watch anything. The heating seemed to not work as well although the room felt warm we were there whilst there was a storm. The shower area is quite odd and there is no lock in there. Its tired and dated and you have to wash your hands in the room where you wake everyone up in the night. When we stayed the fire alarm went off about 11pm for a few minutes woke the children up and went off. The restaurant is nice and reasonably priced we had dinner there. I would of given 3 stars but a few things that need to be checked before you rent out rooms.

We had an early flight from East Midlands and we were travelling with two small children. Check in was fast, reception area welcoming, no disabled parking available, all full. Had to park across behind The Diner and walk across. I recommend staff should check guests using the disabled bays as they did not have blue badges, so unfortunately disabled guests are left to park elsewhere. We had two interconnecting rooms, large, clean and comfortable. You could hear traffic noise but its a busy airport hotel so expected.

I really nice hotel with very helpful reception staff. Arrived very late at night and surprised by the reception people who made me a nice cup of tea at no charge!! Nice touch. We are very seasoned travelers and rarely find such thoughtful receptionists.

Great place to stay in Long Eaton, just on the exit of the M1 so very easy access to the motorway The rooms are very clean and comfy, staff is very friendly. Definitely recommended if staying in Long Eaton.

Dirty plates dirty tumblers when i mentioned it i was told they are clean as they were just out the dishwasher. Room was dirty needs a good revamp terrible service. Wont be back as it take very little effort to ensure plates and glasses are clean free from food and lipstick stains. environmental health need to go in and inspect! JOKE OF PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room was spacious. Shame no bath, but a large effective shower, with a built in seat! (room enough for two!!??). Large comfortable bed. Breakfast served in a separate building (OK... But got wet on way back!) lots of choice from the buffet and replenished frequently. Effective double glazing as close to J25 of M1. We heard nothing of the lorry fire and associated emergency vehicle activity during the early morning. Overall, OK value for money.

Great location just off Jct25 of the M1 . Room was large , beds comfortable , ability to control the heating , clean , tea / coffee making facilities , hot shower with seating option , FREE PARKING . As we arrived inside for our breakfast a lovely lady called Leanne immediately came over to us . She explained clearly what we had available to eat and how the food was laid out to enable us to "navigate" our way to get our toast on the go whilst we filled our plate of the full English . Leanne is clearly very enthusiastic and a great host - well done to her . She wasn't over attentive which can be a pain but came over to talk to us about our stay and how much she enjoyed meeting the guests as we all had different stories with regards our stay at the hotel - ours for a leaving party for a customer of my business in Nottingham whilst we live in Barnsley.

second time we stayed in this hotel and in advanced bookings price is great as we have family near by, unfortunately the hotel is a bit dated with the standard room anf their facilities now with the state of the showers and the heating of the room. unfortunately for us there was a smell from the drains and the heating (dated storage heaters) did not work in our room, we fixed the smell by closing the drain and that worked fine and once we asked the reception staff to come and look at the heater he couldn't get it to work either so we was given two heaters to warm the room up and offered a change of room the next day but we declined as we felt we would have same problem in new room sand didn't want faf of a change of room. all in all its a good hotel but think in need of updating a little with the bathroom facilities and the heating/air conditioning would stay again

From the initial booking experience to check out everything was perfect. The price was better than any other I could find in the area. The location was great close to both Nottingham and Derby and easy to reach of the M1. The room was excellent as were the staff and the breakfast buffet was as good as I have experienced even in hotels costing twice as much. A very, very positive experience

This hotel, on the face of it, is ideally situated next door to the M1. It has free WI-FI throughout the hotel,a pleasant reception and restaurant next door, ample car parking and the staff are very pleasant. Unfortunately, that is the best that can be said . We stayed here five years ago, but found the standard rooms layout bizarre. There is not a bathroom. What you get is a sink in the bedroom and a cubicle containing a shower and toilet. This is reminiscent of a cross Channel ferry. When I turned the toilet light on, the light above the sink came on, which disturbed my partner. The next day we were told that the deluxe rooms had a proer bathroom, so this time, I tried to book one of these. I couldn't but was offered a disabled room which did have a bathroom. I booked it and now wished I hadn't. There was a distinct smell of drains and the bath was filthy. I asked to be moved to another room. The hotel was full so we had to spend one night in the smelly room. When we moved the next day, the new room was no better. A filthy bath, with tide marks and dirt in between the non-slip molding on the bottom. The walls had mould building up. I complained to reception who took note of my complaint and were really apologetic. When I got home I complained by email. The response I got was that the rooms were suffering from wear and tear. They weren't. They were suffering from a lack of elbow grease and attention . One other point. If you are disabled, or have restricted mobility a room with a bath and shower over, that you have to climb into doesn't seem very practical either. To be fair, I was offered compensation which I considered reasonable, and an investigation has been promised, but I really can't recommend this place. There are better hotels that have proper bathrooms. I have been in far worse, but the point I'm making is that there should be no excuse for this in a hotel that has a well-known name.

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting for a family wedding. Rooms were great, clean and comfortable. We used the restaurant twice, once for drinks and once for breakfast. Both times we were happy with drinks, food and the price. All staff we encountered were lovely and really friendly. We would stay here again. I would have given 5 stars if not for the noise and behaviour of a handful of guests, who, unfortunately for us, were in the rooms near us. It started with them banging on our door, but we just ignored it, you could tell they were drunk. We managed to get back to sleep, only to be woken again by them shouting and fighting in corridor. This went on for some time and I was about ready to call reception, but then a member of staff arrived and seemed to diffuse the situation. But they then proceeded to keep opening and slamming door. It was a very long night for us!! This wouldn't put us off booking again though, you can't control guests behaviour and they did try to diffuse situation.

We stayed here for 2 nights, the room was very clean the food was 1st class and the staff we're very pleasant and helpful.The bus stop is just a couple of minutes away with busses running every 20 minutes to Nottingham .We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return in the future

Staff really helpful and friendly. Food was really good especially the breakfast sausages!! Music in the bar and restaurant was really good too! Even our dog enjoyed it and staff was very welcoming to him too.

Very basic room. Booked this az wanted something bit nicer than a premier but was would have been better off in a premier. Price was good but you definitely get what you pay for. Whole hotel very tired. No bar inside hotel. No restaurant. There was one just across the car park where food was ok. No air conditioning. Too noisy to have window open. Will not stay again.

Excellent establishment. The staff, accommodation and dining facilities (including meals) are first class. The car parking is free which is a big plus compared to the London hotels. It has easy access from the M1. The 'Grill' restaurant, close by, provides great food and smashing breakfasts for the patrons. Well recommended.

Again we stayed at Best Western, Long Eaton and the room was not completely clean. Our last but one stay here which is the closet to our Son and family was not all that good. The hotel is ok. The food which we have i.e. Breakfast is good. However we've had an issue with the cleanliness of the rooms. And again this last stay was the same.

My family and I stayed in a family room for one night, before flying out on our holidays. It was a lovely big room and very comfy. We all slept soundly and were quite disappointed when our alarm went off early in the morning and we had to leave to catch our flight! Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night 18th October to 19th while visiting relatives. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms excellent and clean although the bed was too soft for my dodgy back but probably ok for most people. Would definitely stay here again.

Highly recommend this hotel. I've stayed here before and I am sure I will again when ever my next trip to Nottingham is. Clean, spacious rooms and air conditioning that works! Great location near many music venues and the city centre.

We stayed the weekend of BSB, we had a little note in the bathroom which stated that there may be noise due to being close to the motor way (brilliant touch) but it was remarkably quiet!!! Super comfy beds and a spacious room. The lady on the desk was lovely and made us feel very welcome. We had to continental breakfast which was AMAZING!!! Safe to say we will be returning.

A lovely welcome to the hotel by the staff like always. This time stayed in the executive room this room is very spacious. Very clean and tidy. Towels change on a daily. Tea and coffee in room.. Food in the restaurant is very nice.

Staff were all pleasant and helpful, room was great, would definitely stay there again. Would of liked a seat or bench outside somewhere to be able to sit with the dog instead of having to just go back inside after his walk, each time.

We stayed in a twin room which was clean and tidy and at the back of the hotel away from road noise. The staff were very helpful and booked us a restaurant for our evening meal. Check in and out was very quick and found it to be a great location for reaching both the university and city.

We decided to stay overnight prior to flying from East Midlands. The hotel is approximately 15/20 mins from the airport. The luggage drop off is easy, right outside the door. The staff are extremely helpful & very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are of a good size, so no tripping over your suitcases! Perfectly adequate for a sleep over. We were lucky enough to have a room at the back of the hotel, so outside noise not too much of a problem. Inside the hotel the guests are less than thoughtful, but that is of course, not a fault of the hotel. There are signs asking people to be considerate! Beds are comfortable enough, pillows are quiet firm. Towels & toiletries supplied, along with tea & coffee making facilities. All in al good value for money! The grill across the path, 3 out of 4 of us choose well for dinner. Easy access & good quality drinks too!

After getting lost on the byways of the M1, really pleasantly surprised to see the the welcoming look of the Best Western in the gloom of the evening. I had had a really long day at Donington Park and was welcomed by a very pleasant receptionist informing me that my room had been upgraded! I loved the way that she was quite happy to call me by my first name, not too much Mr and sir! Check in took about 2 seconds. Room was a delight, clean, loads of space. Bed was very comfortable, no issues whatsoever. Check out was as simple, will definitely go back, upgrade or not.

Great price and was just what we needed. Polite staff, clean hotel and comfy beds with a nice wake up call. No frills but Fab for what we needed. Will stay again when flying from east Midlands airport. Easy access to jet2 parks. Thanks

Room 316, Unbearable heat of 32 on wall stat at 12.30 at night with all fans going, filthy bathroom, toothpaste in sink glasses from previous occupants, which were replaced.....the next morning....we left a day early 2 nights instead of 3, enough said, many times we have stayed with great western before and after trips, never again, a ruined weekend away with my family...I do not get many

Just what was needed after a long drive up the motorway. Hotel was easy to find and parking was free and covered by cctv. Room was clean and spacious, bed was very comfortable. Obviously you could hear the traffic being right next to a busy motorway but it did not disturb me.

Hotel was lovely. The bedroom its self was 31 degrees and far to hot my self and my family weren't able to sleep here. We rang reception to see if there was a problem with the heating.. and she gave me a small desk fan which just wasnt enough

We stayed here overnight and requested an accessible room with shower and were told, over the phone, that would be ok. The room itself was an accessible room: lots of space for a wheelchair to manoeuvre around, handrails in the bathroom and a large comfy bed. The room was also well maintained and clean. The part that let it down was the shower itself. The shower was over a narrow bath and even with the hand rails my wife had difficulty getting into and out of the shower. Someone with even less mobility than her would be unable to use it. We did ask at reception whether they had any wet rooms or shower facilities but were advised the rooms were all the same. One other tiny point is that none of the room have air con. Whilst most of the time in the UK this isn't an issue, if you are here in the two or three weeks in the summer when the temperature is in the high twenties, these rooms could be hot.

We stayed here for three nights and it was very reasonably priced. The room itself was a very good size though it was a little odd having the sink in the room while the toilet and shower were separate. The room was clean and tidy, with an iron and ironing board. There was also a safe (more on that later). The bathroom was a little tired and needed some updating - there was some evidence of black mould around the bar of the shower unit. The bathroom door also had a catch on it that meant you could close the door without making a loud noise. When we got into the room on the Friday evening, the safe wasn't working as someone had removed one of the batteries. We reported this the following morning to a member of staff called Leanne who was on reception and her response was to roll her eyes. She made no note of the issue and it wasn't sorted out while we were there. Disappointing. Overall if you don't set your expectations too high, this is a good budget hotel - you'd struggle to get a cheaper room elsewhere in the area.

Was thinking that I should give the place 4 stars and not 5 - because its not 5 star accommodation by any stretch, as its all a bit dated and needs a bit of TLC. But what we liked was a spacious family room with comfortable beds that afforded a good nights sleep for 2 adults and 2 teens. We didnt use any facilities / eat there so cannot comment on that. As a place to sleep in comfort for a very reasonable price this place really worked for us.

Stayed in the Nottingham long Eaton hotel And will not be returning. Our room had not been cleaned sufficiently we found socks from the previous holiday makers left on the floor as well as a packet of biscuits on the floor. The en suite is dated and looked unsanitary also with a broken toilet roll holder. It was unbearably hot with small windows which allowed little air though somehow managed to still allow for alot of motorway noise. We stayed in a family room which was a suitable size for my husband and I with our 6 month old, however no cot was offered or supplied, thankfully we never leave home without a pop up cot. I dread to think what our options would have been if we had been less prepared. When we complained at the front of house all they had to offer was a 12% discount for if we returned.. Which I can assure you we will not. The only positive about this hotel was the bed was soft though unfortunately not very big, I am not a tall person I am 5ft 3 yet I found the bed too short and my poor husband who is 6ft overhung and nearky fell off when turninh from one side to the other. However we did not sleep a wink due to the unbearable heat so we now have a 5 hour drive with a 6 month old and none of us have slept very well. Also note to anyone with a mobility condition this is not accessible for anyone who struggles with stairs. I am disabled and our room was up three flights of stairs, it took about 20 minutes for me to do one trip and was then in an awful lot of pain. Will not be returning or recommending we are very disappointed after paying so much money for our time here. This has left a sour taste for us especially after the lack of compensation or care from the staff

Budget option. Staff friendly. Close to motorway. Room hot and noisy but clean Shower temperature varied unpredictably. Bed reasonably comfortable.Food in adjoining restaurant formulaic, greasy and meat focused.

4 night dinner bed and breakfast stsy. Bed comfy. Room clean. Lovely large towels. Shower hot and powerful. Room hot but fan provided. Hearing protection available. Breakfasts and dinners well presented and tasty. Ladies serving were very attentive and chatty.

The receptionist was very helpful getting me a different room, although I am unsure why it took such a long time. Hotel was fully booked but there were guests who had not checked in. I could have been given one of their rooms, but that is presumably too much effort. I even offered to upgrade but there were no rooms. I will not stay at this hotel again in case I am given one of the M1 facing rooms. Given the temperature of my replacement room ( 35.5 degrees C ) with the window open, I dread to think what the M1 facing room would have been like, with extreme noise and excess heat because I could not have had the window open due to the M1 noise.

Stayed here for one night whilst attending a nearby wedding. Check-in was very quick and easy and staff accommodated an early check-in for us with no issues. Room was spacious, clean, tidy and complete with the usual amenities allowing for a comfortable stay. The room offered good value for money and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was tasty and items were hot and quickly replenished. Only issue I had was the temperature of the shower water. Once I'd got it to a nice temperature it kept going cold and then warming up again. As I was checking out that morning I didn't bother to complain about this so didn't give staff the chance to rectify this. All in all, would stay here again if back in the area.

The Best Western Nottingham Derby is situated not far from Junction 25 of the M1. The check in process was quick and easy. The receptionist was friendly and efficient. The hotel reception area and corridors are all well appointed and spotlessly clean. The room was clean and spacious. It had a TV, tea and coffee making facilities as well as a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board and a safe. The room has a bathroom that contains a shower and toilet only. The sink is located outside the bathroom in the bedroom itself. A rather unusual design and not one I've seen anywhere else. Essentially this means brushing your teeth, shaving etc in front of everyone you're sharing a room with. The room also did not have air conditioning which in itself is fine as a lot of hotels in the UK don't have air conditioning. Unfortunately when it is 28 degrees Celsius (82 Fahrenheit) the room can be quite warm. Opening the window helps but due to the hotels close proximity to the motorway opening the window can be a noisy option. This brings me to my next point. This hotel is right next to the M1. It literally is RIGHT next to one of the busiest motorways in the country. This means that the noise is constant and at times intrusive. Complimentary earplugs are available from reception on request to help with the noise. On the upside being so close to the M1 means that the hotel is easy to get to. Parking is around the sides and back of the hotel and, due to the hotels layout, the only way to get to it is by walking some distance. Not too bad on its own but if you have to make several journeys then it can become a bit of a trek. The car park is accessed via a narrow single lane that serves both incoming and outgoing traffic. There is not enough space for two vehicles to pass side by side so if one vehicle is entering and another vehicle is leaving at the same time things could get a little awkward. It's perfectly safe as the speeds of both vehicles will be low as there is a speed hump that makes sure vehicles travel at a safe speed and believe me that speed hump doesn't take any nonsense. Oddly enough there isn't a restaurant or bar situated in the hotel. There is, however, an excellent restaurant right opposite the entrance of the hotel and both the food and drink can be taken back to your room for consumption. This is an excellent hotel that is easy to get to and has everything you will need during your stay whether you are on holiday or traveling on business.

There were 22 of us travelled to Nottingham for a 70th birthday, all said the hotel was good for what we needed,rooms were clean and staff very helpful and the breakfast was good and the price was very reasonable. We would definitely stay again

I have stayed in this hotel 4 times now due to regularly travelling for work down the M1. The down side is the traffic is extremely noisy and there is no air con so on a hot night you have no choice but to have your window open with all the traffic noise. The plus however are the fantastic waitresses at the grill restaurant next door. Every time I have stayed and eaten there, they have taken such good care of me and been so professional, friendly and kind. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they give a great experience to every customer. They are a credit to their profession. The hotel is also in a great location for travelling and the rooms are usually pretty clean, there is also free parking. The food is not the best quality but the rooms are very cheap. Perfect location for easy travelling.

Was greeted in a friendly way.no hassle,room was massive (see pictures)bathroom good size,wardrobe a good size tea making facilities only down side is that on this occasion the room was hotter then the pits of hell haha,no air conditioning but a fan was provided that was quite good,queen size bed comfy,2 single beds also comfy,WiFi was easy to connect too we had 4 devices running off it and speed was good,if you need a night here for east Midlands Airport then this hotel will serve its purpose.thanks for reading cs.

The rooms were spacious and clean and tidy but the room was far too hot and unfortunately as we overlooked the motorway we couldn't open the window. The noise of the motorway is relentless. The bar/grill shuts before 10.30 and you can't have food after 9. It does offer good value for money and as long as you don't need a good nights sleep is fine.

Stayed here last night good location perhaps too close to the M1 reception staff lovely room a good size clean and everything you need in it read about no aircon do you need it in winter for the price you pay what do you expect. If you are too hot there is a big fan in the room.We didn't have breakfast we had an evening meal which was good pizza only average though. Plenty of onsite free parking would stay again for the price.Best thing was the happy friendly staff

Hotel in good location for our gathering. Family rooms a good size, but no difference in the deluxe room that cost more?? Care little better for the cleaning of rooms.. ie shower etc. Overall the hotel was ok, but not sure if I would stay there again..

need to review the disabled parking at the front of the hotel. as you only have 2 and there are more spaces on the other side at the front of the hotel. spoke to other disabled guests and had the same opinion as me and my wife

Firstly I must say for value for money, pleasant room, very clean with a comfy bed, I had upgraded to double deluxe, warning no lift, No air con, The room was so hot it was unbearable at times, that is why there was two fans in the room, Windows wide open it was still over 30 In the room. So sleep was not great with two fans blowing and lots of traffic noise, I would stay again but not in the summer. PS MANAGEMENT the towel rail in the bathroom, is not helping, its full on you cannot bear to touch it and have no option to switch off, Surely it would be a good idea to at least put a switch on it, and the coffee tray is a little on the mean side !

I have stayed here a couple of times and it can be expensive for what you get BUT the price does vary and when it's competitive they get my business. Easy access from the M1, a good size car park, reasonable size lobby with a small reception desk, a snack & drink machine and clean bedrooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. Across the courtyard is a restaurant and the hotel's breakfast area. The buffet breakfast is very good.

Room and bathroom very dated but work perfectly. Only issue no sink by toilet but sink in room gives better options for two people. Staff very efficient and car park useful and free. Good connections into Nottingham city.

Went over for the Download festival. They were very accommodating for all our needs. Some if the friendliest staff I've ever received at a hotel. The room was brilliant for the price. TV WiFi and an amazing shower. Bar and restaurant staff were also amazing. Highly recommended booking this one to stay.

Thought at the price of £109 for one night we would be staying at an hotel. This isn't even close. It's a reception area with two girls and a corridor with rooms. The room was very basic, indeed spartan...and with some disturbing cleanliness problems. Noise wasn't too bad considering the nearby motorway....but still in the background throughout the night. The following day the breakfast room...which is across the drive in was supposedly open from 7 until 9. Fair enough, so how was it at 8am when we arrived, the third member of staff we had seen to date, ticked us off her list and we sat down to our £9.50 each breakfast. The buffet "hot" breakfast was warm and uninviting....a choice of either two congealed fried eggs or slimy warm wet scrambled eggs, overcooked bacon or solid black sausages. The rest I didn't even look at. Toast and yoghurt seemed the best bet and at £9.50 a plate I was robbed. Tea was OK though....but that's not hard to do is it? All of the rest of the people there were travelling workers, dirty coveralls, jeans sweatshirts etc. No other family nor elderly couples which proves my point.....THIS IS NOT AN HOTEL IT IS A MOTEL.....and therefore it should say so when a booking is made. I was very disappointed as I expected better from Best Western....going by our local hotel....this was a shocker...no error. Avoid at all costs...the Holiday Inn across the motorway is miles better, but watch out for the parking Taliban !

We had a very early flight out of East Midlands Airport so decided on a hotel within a short drive rather than setting off at daft o'clock. Booked well in advance so got a good rate. Room was clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. Our only issue was the light in the toilet kept flickering.

I stayed here a few years back, and commented on a few things. First the lack of sandwiches at lunchtime, no change there; the poor choice of tv channels, well slightly better so a plus there; poor grouting in the shower - well that hasn't changed still grotty, worse the door to the toilet and shower would not close properly. WE asked for a room away from the M1, but were given one that was closest, not sure they understand what "away" means; however it was not all that noisey, so perhaps I complain too much! But the bed was comfortable even if we did not sleep very well, and the breakfast passable, so 3 out of 5.

Good place to stay, clean rooms, friendly helpful staff, food available on site providing you with a good selection of meals each evening and good breakfasts. Quite central to Long Eaton with easy access to the motorway.

The service we received was amazing when checking in, out and asking any questions. The room was large and immaculate and for the amount we paid was a lot more than expected. The breakfast was also completely worth the money with it being all you can eat and a wide variety of choices. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in a family room before an early flight from East Midlands the next morning. Got a bargain including parking for 7 days at the airport. Room was massive and clean wasn't really expecting anything else and lived up to expectations. Could have done with some AC as the room was roasting to sleep during the end of May, Luckily was staying in a room the other side of M1 motorway so noise wasn't an issue - maybe different if you on other side of hotel. Comfy beds, decent restaurant just across from reception. Overall good value for money and well placed for airport.

Told the staff about parents leaving there children running unattended till 2.30am ! Adults left down stairs drinking ... staff didn't care! I had to go speak to the parents to sort them out after telling staff. Then the parents cane to bed drunk arguing. If you have an early flight from East Midlands don't use this hotel!

Broken bed, room unclean, hairs in shower, shower grouting extremely mouldy, very noisy (overlooking M1 motorway), corridor carpets badly stained and old. Generally very poor standard and badly in need of renovation.

Booked two adjoining rooms (1 double and 1 twin) so my wife and I and two children could stay here. Paid £175 for the rooms with breakfast included. Turned up at reception to be told that our rooms were on different floors. After explaining the reasons for having adjoining rooms after some delay they did manage to sort out two adjoining twins. Thought I better accept this as the rest of the hotel was full. Rooms were basic but clean enough and had what we needed for a one night stop. Turned up at breakfast around 9am. Looked at the selection for full English..... Virtually no food at all, no plates, no cutlery, some stale bread for toast. Felt sorry for the one girl waiting on the tables. She was bringing one plate at a time back out of the kitchen for people to use. Then some bloke starts a shouting match at the host about how he wants a refund. Looking at his table he looked like he'd eaten alot more than we were getting. Im not sure it warranted the two police cars that were called out to calm the situation down. We then all got asked by the host for a show of hands as to whether we think the bloke got enough food. ‘No idea, can we have something to eat please'. Not exactly the quiet breakfast I had hoped for. Maybe if the host was not inviting her family into the restaurant for breakfast there might be some left for the rest of us? Anyway, I never expect that much from these type of hotels, but this was certainly not value for money and would not stay here again.

We paid £29 to stay here for one night on Easter Sunday and it was perfect for what we paid. Clean bed, coffee in the room and a shower. Bathroom wasn't in a great condition but for that money we didn't expect much. Room was really quiet even though we were next to a busy road.

Great location for journey break south Room spotless, everything working and presented as it should. Very comfortable sleep and powerful refreshing shower. Dinner in adjacent Grill25 lovely. Buffet breakfast, plenty of choice and very tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Chloe who sorted out my stupidity with booking wrong dates online, nothing was a problem, all sorted without a hitch prior to my arrival. She was also on duty at arrival and departure with a cheery smile for everyone. Well done, how a hotel should be!

Reasonable price but that was the only positive point of an hotel that my wife called " worse than a down market Travelodge". Maybe it was because it was the only Best Western hotel that cannot afford biscuits with the tea and coffee. Nit picking perhaps but other things were not nit picking. The quiet room we asked for was not so quiet at night. If you are put on a ground floor hope you do not have baby elephants above them banging around. These baby elephants also had a ritual after 1am, of going to the toilet not once but several times. Flush, flush and air conditioning noise follows. The hotel has a little notice offering free ear plugs for the motorway noise. They should also mention the noise generated by the selfish or brain challenged quests who do not realise you can close the heavy banging room doors quietly. Also perhaps the earplugs could be used to drown out the guests who were getting even more drunk by drinking cans of beer. Pizza delivery certainly to the chant of the Barnsley woman uttering" I am not f-----bothered where is my pizza/". Utterly charmless group I am afraid to say of Yorkshire folk on a drunken night away. To hell with other quests. Thank you by the way to the night staff who tolerated these drunken yobs on the premises. Remember by the way one other good thing to say the nice bar staff in the lounge and grill area.

I paid £36 for my room and breakfast. £36. The room was massive, beds huge and comfy and the room itself was immaculate. To be honest the whole hotel looked very clean and fresh. Modern and the reception staff, couldn't fault them. Welcoming, helpful and pleasant. The restaurant staff also not a bad word. Friendly, helpful with recommendations and the food was genuinely great. It cost £30 for 3 courses and 2 gin and tonics. That's not bad. I had a salad, salad leaves fresh and crunchy and croutons hard and crunchy (sometimes they go soft if they're old). Breakfast your standard hotel breakfast but plenty of choice. The sausages were delicious, herb infused and high quality. Not just bog standard frozen jobbies. Also free parking. Don't get that many roadside hotels. For the price you cannot go wrong. Should I find myself down here again I'll definitely be happy to return. Thanks :)

Pleasant staff and spacious room. The beds were very comfortable- we would stay again happily. Disappointed with the breakfast- for £10 I would expect more for the money having stayed in a number of hotels during the year and had much better breakfasts.

Had to find an hotel for the night so we could enjoy my nieces 18th party. The price was excellent for a family room .. didnt eat breakfast cos it was a little pricey but it was a little too early for us to enjoy all the food on offer .. beds were very comfy and staff very pleasant

We stayed at the 301 - Deluxe double and we loved it. The room and bathroom was spacious. Staff were very helpful and lovely. Special thanks to the lovely receptionist who gifted my little girl with a sachet of hot chocolate. My daughter loved it :) Thank you xx My only criticism is of the breakfast. I wish they would have hot filter coffee/tea instead of the machine made drinks and the food to taste better.

The only issue we had with the hotel was the state of the shower and sink area. On first glance it appeared very unclean but after further inspection it was stained but didn't give then right impression for the hotel. However the rest of the room was well decorated and spotless.

Front desk staff were fantastic and really helpful and friendly. The corridors were tired and the carpet was gross. In the room the toilet smelt like urine and had black and white cakes of mould on the air vent, I couldn't use the shower due to this. By the bed headboard some of the wallpaper was peeling and underneath was what looked like mould and dust / grime. There was a clock radio by the bed with only two numbers working. The window seemed unsafe as one of the hinges was loose. Not worth the money even as a discount stay.

Easy, swift check in by pleasant receptionist. Room large and clean.plenty of towels and toiletries. Sink in bedroom but did not pose any issues. Choices of teas in room including herbal. Restaurt modern and is grill type offerings. Can recommend the chicken fajitas, well cooked and plentiful. Waitress very pleasant and helpful. No wi fi issues. Located next to motorway but little noise. Would recommend

Stopped for a night to break up a long drive to Birmingham airport and so glad we did . Basic but clean and comfortable throughout and the bar / restaurant was excellent but best of all was the people who work there , they would make any length of stay there a pleasure and would definitely recommend it .

We have stayed at the hotel many times before, just an overnight stay before our early morning flight from East Midlands Airport. It clean and the food in the restaurant is ok, would like the restaurant to open earlyer in the morning so we could get breakfast before our flight.

Inattentive staff when checking out there was no one on the desk they were busy talking in the back, I mentioned to a member of staff in the corridor about a problem in the bathroom to which she said I don't do rooms and walked off

I had a large room. The bathroom was really cold, especially the floor, and well worn although nice lotions were provided. The TV remote didn't work properly. The wi fi was good. Food is only available in the restaurant opposite from 5pm and for breakfast. I couldn't get a sandwich or light snack earlier in the day and there is no where else nearby. There were no pictures to make the room homely. In the night there was a smell of cigarettes so that must have come through a vent somewhere. Breakfast was fine and all the staff were nice.

The staff are always helpful at this hotel both in the hotel itself and the restaurant but they are let down by the poor quality of the rooms. Ours, an Executive Room, was awful. The heating wouldn't work, the shower fan wouldn't stop all night, the bed was very uncomfortable, and with two fans in the room for guests to use one imagines that this top floor room is insufferably hot in summer. Never again. I would strongly recommend refusing a room starting with the number 3

Considering it is right next to the motorway, you can see the signs for Leeds! It was a very pleasant experience. However next time I would book a room on the first floor to alleviate the vibration of the motorway traffic.

Excellent hotel in a central location. The staff are always extremely polite and helpful on Reception and in the Dining Room and the Breakfast Room - nothing is too much trouble and are extremely welcoming.

I have now stayed in a very large and very comfortable room on numerous along with my pooch. We come up from Oxford and we are usually in an out for the duration of the stay and only spend a relatively short time in the actual hotel, but the room is spacious, clean and the bed is large and very comfortable. On all occasions it has been a pleasure to stop and for a relatively cheap price the convenience is just perfect. We are booked again for next month and hope to stay on many more occasions while my dog's elderly previous owner, lives in Nottingham, benefits from still having contact with her precious pet.

We only paid £55 for four of us to stop here. I was apprehensive but there was no need. Okay the place isn't the Ritz but £55 it is a great place for an overnight stop en route The room was a really good size with a queen and two singles It was clean with toiletries and a big TV The reception staff were welcoming and helpful and there is a restaurant Grill at number 25 on site which is really good value too I would highly recommend and use again

Hi all I've just stayed here for a week ,I was on a training coarse which was 20 mins away from the hotel ,and reason being the price dropped considerably from staying directly next to the venue. Yes I read the reviews and was a little hesitant but thought give it a chance . Much to my relief what a welcoming very traveled hotel this is . On arriving and all through the week the staff are friendly ,helpful ,smart ,theres a Resturant (The Grill ) directly opposite the hotel and food was very exceptable but only 20 mins away there's a mass of eaterys if you want a change. Yes the rooms are basic and a little tired but they are in constant use by an assortment of trades and professions ,but the room was refreshed every day if required or not if that's your choice. The motorway can be a negative but help with that is available from reception . The price reflects the hotel so as they say it does what it says on the tin . Personally I've stayed in many a place and this is far from a negative experience . I would return in a flash if the circumstance arose again .The rooms were also very well heated which is under your control .The shower temp was great too. Linen clean and fresh .Wi Fi very good connection . T V great and plenty of power points if needed . Happy Days and Nights .

Located right next to an exit an ideal location for Derby/Nottingham and probably the cleanest hotel with this price range with a decent Resturant within the hotel premises. Rooms are double glazed so pretty quite, beds are comfortable. Secure and free car park.

Stayed here whilst visiting our eldest at Nottingham Uni. Very good location right off the M1 at the Nottingham exit. Traffic noise not a problem however, ample parking. Family room very big with double and twin beds which were quite soft. The bathroom was very small and tatty. Felt a bit like being on a plane or boat. No lift access although we did not need it other than lugging a heavy case around. Restaurant for evening meal and breakfast ok just opposite entrance. Staff friendly and helpful

Chose this for an overnight stay with my teenage daughters as the elder one had an interview at Nottingham Trent Uni. Very close to motorway and easy access to Nottingham city centre too. Beds comfy but bathroom needs refurbishing, paint peeling in strange shower cubicle. Didn't like sink being in bedroom rather than bathroom ! Breakfast was fine, although scrambled eggs had seen better days. Staff all very polite and professional. All in all, good value but don't think I'll be rushing back

Stayed here last night for work. It's my second visit and will be back again Easy to find. Plenty of parking. Warm welcome on arrival. Room clean and tidy. The food opposite is nice and decent value and the breakfast is pretty good. If you could get some soya milk, that would be great

Me and my friends stayed over here for my best friends 40th, as we were going to the Clifford Health Spa the day after. The hotel part was lovely and clean and as requested me and my friend were put in a downstairs room that was large enough for my wheelchair. The restaurant is situated next to the hotel, the restaurant staff were lovely, very friendly and accommodating, couldn't do enough for you. The prices of meals were reasonable and very tasty. The price of a diet coke was a bit steep, almost as much as an alcoholic drink so will definitely have water next time. Will definitely stay here again.

The bathroom may be a little dated and it's close to the motorway but the hotel makes up for this in terms of the size and cleanliness of rooms. Very friendly staff good food choice on the evening menu, plenty of free parking.

I stayed 2 nights on business and the staff at reception in the hotel were really helpful and friendly. The staff at the Grill @ 25 Bar and restaurant adjacent to the hotel were also fantastic. Really friendly every single one of them. Went out of their way to help without it being an issue. The food for dinner and breakfast was excellent. I was travelling alone and was nice to have smiling faces from everyone there. Well done everyone.

I was booked in with a group of 3 for work for a week. Arrived on a Sunday evening expecting to eat but the kitchen had closed due to it being quite in January! (We weren't the only ones looking for food). Friendly staff both in the accommodation and restaurant opposite although I didn't eat there as I ended up staying only 1 night. It's very close to the M1 and whilst the others didn't seem bothered I wasn't able to get much sleep due road noise even with the secondary double glazing. I was kindly offered 2 other rooms the following morning but they seemed to have the same noise level and moved to a more suitable hotel away from the motorway.

I stayed here for 1 night. Staying in a family room. The room was very clean and spacious. Plenty of towels, tea/coffee etc. There was a resteraunt / bar on site but wasn't open a lot. Staff at reception were polite and plenty of free car parking.

Booked a double room with breakfast for £52 we couldnt believe the size of bed and room massive !!Great location for road networks, on site bar and grill ,delicious buffet breakfast. Very friendly staff.

I stay at the BW Nott/Derby every week and always find it a positive experience. It's also a bonus being a rewards member The restaurant has a good breadth of good value food & the staff go out of their way to be helpful & freindly

Stayed here 4 nights. The room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. Heating worked fine, large flat screen tv in room, good firm mattress, plenty of hot water, great shower, plenty of parking in the secure car park. Restaurant next door if you want to eat out. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to Junction 25 on the M1 about 7 miles from Nottingham city centre. Recommended hotel, better quality than Travelodge. For the low out of season price I paid the facility is worthy of 5 stars.

Booked one night with parking at East Midlands airport for 14 nights. Good value deal when compared to parking only and as hotel only 15 minutes from airport it made the morning of the flight less stressful. Room clean, wasn't bothered by noise from M1 which is just next to the hotel. Stayed here before and hope to stay again if the park and stay deal available at the right price. Restaurant on site but haven't used it as up and away early for flight.

The staff at the hotel were fabulous, so helpful and friendly. The evening meal was excellent, perfectly cooked and the portions were very generous, good choice of hot and cold dishes for breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant is situated in another building. It was unusual to find the sink not within the bathroom.

I had room 319 and my lads had room 320 320 was freezing all night as the heating didn't work. Reception was told but didn't seem too interested sadly. Apart from their room the experience was ok The breakfast was lovely and had a meal across the road which was also very nice

This was my first time at best western and I was satisfied. The room was moderately clean and the receptionist was very friendly & helpful. Opposite the hotel is the restaurant which was fine in most aspects. Unfortunately the pillow in my room was incredibly uncomfortable and it took me a while to get to sleep for an early flight in the morning which wasn't helpful. Best western won't be my first choice.

bit strange really. booked a family room.checked in, no 3rd bed! Then the poor lady on reception, who was run ragged, arrived with some bedding. We tried to make up the 3rd bed only to discover it was broken. So we had to swap room. Again, no 3rd bed. So again we got bedding ( from the poor lady ) and made up the 3rd bed ourselves. The room had it's windows open and was very cold. It seemed to take an age to warm up. Also, curious quirk, the basin is in the main room, and the shower and toilet on the other side of a sliding door. Just an observation, from a hygiene point of view, that people are opening and closing a door, having used the bathroom, without being able to wash their hands.

Decided to drive up from Torquay late Sunday afternoon to be able to spend a little more time with our son, and having been here many times when it used to be Branaghans, and it's very close proximity to the M1 and A52, made it an easy choice. Sadly the restaurant closed at 9pm, but the very accommodating staff brought our food and drinks order over to the hotel lounge for us! Clean, modern, great facilities, all you could want for an overnight stay.

Firstly may I say if you have ANY mobility issues don't bother booking. There " accessible " rooms on the ground floor have baths instead of walk in showers and with no lift in the entire hotel they have access or bathrooms in the rooms on the 2nd floor. To whoever designed their accessible bathrooms with a bath in you are not fit to the job. I had to cancel my reservation after I found out they have no lift and the ground floor rooms Have baths in but the accessible rooms are up 2 flights of stairs with walk in showers but no lift. Disgraceful.

Arrived to a lovely lady on reception. Checked in quickly, pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. Bed very comfy (I am a bit of a stickler for criticising the beds), slept well. Some noise through the night from the neighbouring rooms coming and going but not enough to wake me completely, reception staff in the morning lovely and pleasant. Clean and tidy everywhere. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a quick stay.

A good hotel and restaurant, for a one night stopover. I asked for a quiet room on opposite side from Motorway and was accommodated. Good staff in both hotel and restaurant, good food in restaurant. Pillows were too hard but otherwise ok.

Would rate this hotel between a Premier Inn and Travelodge. The room layout is basic but to a high standard (that sounds strange now I have written it down but best way I can describe it) with a Super King bed and good sized TV Very comfortable bed and remarkably quiet considering its right next to M1 All in all great value and a good nights sleep

The room was very nice indeed however we did not get the early morning call that we were offered (3am to catch a flight at East Midlands airport) luckily I set my phone alarm as a back up. The receptionist knew we were going to the airport too, also I think they should have mentioned that the junction of the M1 close to them is closed meaning a fairly long diversion when we had no idea where we were. We booked because of the speed of access to the motorway for the airport. Disappointing

Disappointed with my recent stay here. Phoned ahead as we were traveling with a baby for a cot via Thomas Cook on a stay and park deal to arrive and not have a cot lady at reception said she would arrange one. Get a knock at the door to be handed a travel cot and for her to walk away. Waited to see if someone was going to bring a sheet for said cot... nothing! Ended up putting the cot up myself and having to use our towels to line it. The cot also smelt fusty nearly didn't use it. The bathroom is the most basic I've seen more like something on a ferry! Unfortunately I think we had a large group of men staying before flying out on a lads holiday and they made a lot of noise for sometime, had to phone reception to get them to ask them to be quite as they woke little one. Worst nights sleep ever which is not what I needed before an early flight. Don't think I will stay again, disappointed for a best western.

£115 for room and breakfast for two is absolutely ridiculous for a room miles worse than any we've ever stayed in before. Holiday Inns, Premier Inns, Travelodges, Jury's Inns etc are all vastly superior to this Best Western. We've never stayed in a Best Western before and wont ever again. The second floor rooms (no lift) are under the eaves with part sloping ceilings. They do not have windows so you can't look out but they do have skylights - so all you know is if it's raining or not! A 'thoughtful' note is left on the desk reading "You've picked a great location but that may mean you hear some road noise ....... ask reception for some complimentary earplugs ..."! Surely more helpful would be to mention this before booking not just leave a note in the room? There are two wall lights over the desk on arms which are curved to direct the bulb at the desk, problem is that the shades are those intended for vertical desk lamps. So when you're sitting at the desk bare bulbs point into your eyes. But all of this is nothing compared to the bathroom lighting and use of the bathroom at night. There is a bank of light switches on the wall next to the room door, one of which is the bathroom light despite the bathroom being as far away from the door as is possible and around a corner. When it's switched on as well as lighting the bathroom a florescent light also comes on in the bedroom. So using the toilet at night requires a trip to the room door, switching the bathroom light on then lights up the room, waking anyone else in it. I thought I must be doing something wrong, there just had to be a bathroom only light switch. Visited reception feeling a bit of an idiot for not being able to work things out myself and was informed that every room is like this - it's how it's designed! For sub £50 I'd grumble but accept that's what you get when you pay under £50. Charging £115 is 'taking the mickey'.

Stayed here as part of a stay and park deal. Bargain price of £50 for a family of 4 for one night in a family room plus a weeks parking a long stay one East Midlands airport. It's 10 miles out from airport tho so not the closest. First impression not great, arrived late at night, struggled to park then got informed there's no lift here and our room is on the top floor. Not much fun dragging suitcases and tired kids up 4 flights of stairs late at night. Room however was very impressive. This must be the largest family room I've ever stayed in. The kids had 2 proper beds not just a sofa/camp bed. Enough pillows for 2 each, loads of towels, complimentary shampoo, body wash and cream. Shower cubicle was huge! bit like a caravan shower only much bigger (no bath). Tv in room works well, well stocked tea/coffee making facilities, good free WiFi and a safe in the room if you need it. Didn't stay for breakfast as we had a very early flight. I would definitely book again but request a ground floor room.

We stayed here for 1 night before our flight from East Midlands airport. It was easy to find with directions on the sat nav. The gate opens automatically when you pull in and plenty of space in the car park round the back of the hotel. Check in was quick and easy and the receptionist went through the WiFi, where our room was and breakfast times etc if we wanted them. There is also a key code to get out of the car park which changes on a daily basis and they keep it in a dish on the reception desk for you to pick up on your way out. We were in a room on the ground floor and the room was huge! Bath with a shower overhead and shower really powerful and warm. No problems at all with the room, very clean and nicely decorated. Large tv on the wall & hairdryer and iron in the drawer if needed. The hotel is only a 10-15 minute drive from East Midlands airport so would definitely recommend it if travelling on an early flight as it's not far to the airport. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as we had no problems at all and couldn't fault anything!

The hotel was very nice, staff were very helpful with all our questions answered straight away.Room was very spacious and they covered all the needs guest(s) required ie. Iron ironing board hairdryer, as well as the usual tea/coffee facilities. Easy access to our location either by car or taxi. Overall a well run hotel with helpful staff who are a credit to the hotel.

We stayed here for two nights as we had a wedding to attend in Nottingham. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. In our family room there was two adults, a baby and a 4 year old, the room was really spacious for all of us. We had a double bed, two singles and a travel cot! There was still plenty of room for the boys to play around on the floor. Breakfast was of good value too.

Typical hotel for the motorway traveler. Friendly front of house staff and reasonably priced room with flat screen tv and plenty of electric sockets. Very low toilet it looked like a toilet from a junior school. Acceptable breakfast provided and very friendly and accommodating staff in the restaurant in the morning. Water costs about 0.08p a bottle at the wholesalers I would supply it fox in the rooms. There is a need for this as the vending machine in the foyer was empty of water. Will definitely use again. Great secluded secure car park.

Stayed for just the one night in a huge room with great facilities available. A large fan was provided to help with how hot the room was due to the tropical storm weather we were experiencing. Lovely breakfast with a wide range of food. Safe and secure parking which was free.

Stayed for just one night visiting friends. Room was large and clean. Receptionist were very friendly. Breakfast was included and it was great. Everything you could think off Buffet style as i there was lots staying on business. Hotel was easy to find with plenty of free car parking spaces

As a coach party of 40 we stayed for 5 days. A bit chaotic at meal times as I do not think the hotel was really geared up for so many people at one sitting. After a couple of days things settled down and normal service resumed. The room was fine and the staff very friendly and helpful. If I was travelling this way again I would certainly use this hotel.

Ive been staying here for business and some Social times for over 5 years now. The Staff are professional, very helpful and thats from the Housekeepers through to the Front Desk and Management a Great Team The Location, facilities and cleanliness are excellent in my opinion I highly recomend Ps ... the hotels ratings buttons on this review would not work All 4 to 5 in my opinion

Not a great hotel. And certainly not cleaned properly. Our shower had mold in it. The room temperature could not be controlled. It was just getting hotter. And we was put next to the main road. The food was not great. And to sum it all up. There was no lift and we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs. Especially a hindrance when you have a family. This hotel needs to be looked at and needs improving. Also you cannot go to the toilette in the night without waking other people in the room as the light in the bathroom is also the light in the bedroom so it lights the room up when you put it on. There was so many issues with this hotel. I would not even look at it unless you was a single traveler and don't mind noise from the outside and having a shower in a tardis. Sorry for the bad reviews but I'm a frequent traveller and this hotel needs an update.

Booked this hotel for a festival I was going to. Booked to stay for 4 nights in a twin room. Experienced staff that didn't know what they were doing. Night staff slating day staff and promising things they couldn't deliver. Day staff slating the night staff saying they were useless and shouldn't of told us they could do anything as they didn't have authority to do so. Took us a long time to chase for a part refund. Very lax management staff. Would never stay here again and have booked elsewhere for next year. Don't expect to flush your toilet more than once either unless you wanna wait a long time to have to do so we even had to get night staff to open up the tank so it could be refilled manually with pint glasses of water!

There were 7 of us, having booked 5 rooms, and we stayed Friday through to Sunday. The check - in was straight forward and the receptionist was polite and helpful. We had travelled up for a family wedding on Saturday. There is no air conditioning or lifts in this hotel. It is next to the A 52 and the traffic noise can be heard in the rooms all through the night even with the windows closed - which is extremely uncomfortable in the stifling heat we have had this year. The rooms were not cleaned, towels or bedding changed during our stay. We were going out for a pre wedding meal on Friday night and asked re epsilon if they could recommend a local mini cab firm we could use. The receptionist said they used L E Taxis, who were reliable and friendly, and she would book the taxis for us. The receptionist rang the mini cab firm and booked the mini bus for 7.15 PM, with a return - time to be confirmed, to the Crown Plaza Hotel and confirmed the cost would be £25.00 each way. About half an hour later we went back to reception and asked them to book us a mini bus for Saturday at 1.30pm with a return at midnight to Woolton Hall. The receptionist book this and confirmed the fare would be £22.00 each way. On both occasions she wrote the booking down in the diary held at reception against one of the room numbers. The outward journey to the Crown Plaza arrived on time, and was very good unfortunately the same cannot be said for the subsequent 3 journeys. On the return journey from the Crown Plaza Hotel to the Best Western Nottingham Derby the mini cab driver charged us £33.20, we telephoned L E Taxis to query the fare and was told the driver had put us on the meter because he hadn't realised we were Best Western customers. We told the company that this didn't make sense as the booking had been made by Best Western and the driver had greeted us with the book in name and said your going to the Best Western Nottingham Derby. The mini cab company just said it had been charged on the meter and that was the price. On Saturday morning, as the weather had turned and unfortunately was raining, we went down to reception about 11.00 am and asked them to change the time of the outward booking to Woolton Hall to 2.00 PM. They did this and said the minibus would pick us up outside the hotel at 2.00 PM. We in reception for 1.50 PM, at 2.15 PM we asked reception to chase up the booking as the minibus had not turned up. Reception chased up the booking and we're told the driver had got stuck in traffic on the A52 and would be with us shortly. It finally turned up at 2.40 PM, and we only just made it to Woolton Hall in time for the wedding ceremony at 3.00 PM. When we got into the minibus the driver apologised for being late but said the controller had asked him to do a job before ours that the company were running late on. When we got out of the minibus, the driver confirmed he would be picking us back up at midnight and to meet him where he had dropped us off. We were outside waiting for the minibus at 11.45 PM as the reception had finished at 11.30 PM. At 12.15 am we contacted L E Taxis to find out where the minibus was, to be told by the controller that they had no booking, nor had they taken us to the venue and didn't have a minibus available until 2.00 am. When we stated they had dropped us off and the driver had confirmed he would be picking us up at midnight he just hung up on us. Several of us tried to call the minicab firm back and either got no answer or the controller was extremely rude and then hung up. We contact the Best Western Hotel to ask them to contact L E Taxis and find out what had happened to our booking to be told the diary only showed the outward journey. Eventually, they agreed to call L E Taxis and come back to us. Whilst this was going on, several of us were trying other local minicab firms to see if they had either a minibus or 2 cars that could come to Woolton Hall to take us back to Best Western. Unfortunately, as it was a Saturday night and was now almost 12.30 am most of them had anything available before 2.30 am. The Best Western called us back and said they had spoken to L E Taxis who were adamant that they had no return booking and would be unable to send a minibus until about 1.15/1.30 am. We explained the venue had closed and security were waiting to lock up, they said that was the best they could do so we asked them to book it. The minibus turned up at 1.00 am and when we arrived back at the Best Western then proceeded to charge us £45.00 instead of the £22.00 we had been quoted, we got a receipt from the driver. Due to all the stress over this one of the party developed a migraine and was violently ill due to the stress of us being stranded in an area we did not know and approximately 5 miles from where we were staying. My partner and I were outside the hotel having a cigarette and trying to relax before going to bed at about 1.30 am when he got a call from the minibus driver saying he was at Woolton Hall and wanted to know where we were. My partner explained we had already been picked up and we're at the Best Western. The driver said he would be speaking to the controller when he got back as this wasn't the first screw up he had made tonight. In the morning, after breakfast, I went to reception and asked to speak to the manager to make a complaint. The receptionist on duty said she was the manager and asked how she could help. I explained what had happened with the minicab bookings they had book for us on Friday and Saturday, the response of the night staff stating only the outward journey was in the diary, the fact we were over charged on both return journeys, showed her the receipt, and the fact the controller at the minicab company had told us we could complain but it wouldn't effect them as Best Western would still carry on using them. I informed her that this reflected very badly on the hotel, as they recommended the company to their customers, and the minicab firm were quite happy to leave them stranded. I also explained a member of the party had been ill due to the stress and had soured our visit. The receptionist/manager said that they only ever recorded the outward journeys in the desk diary but she would check with Friday's receptionist about the returns, she would recommend they stop using L E Taxis and call me back on Monday about my complaint. To date, we have had no call from Best Weston Nottingham Derby about our complaint and have therefore come to the conclusion they are complicit in the way L E Taxis act in respect of bookings made by the hotel and would tell EVERYONE TO AVOID BOTH THE HOTEL AND M I I AM CO PANT AT ALL COSTS.

Booked two nights here for family gathering locally. Family room on 3rd floor was boiling hot with no air con, but had temperature gauge on wall showing 36o!! When I mentioned it to reception lady she said the hotel does not have air con but portable fans in room. Had windows open and two fans going all night but still really hot and hardly slept!! Went to use phone to call reception for more toilet rolls but phone broken and not working. Sink was in bedroom with broken plug and tiny toilet and shower cubicle, far too small for the large family room. Hotel felt quite run down and will not be staying again.

The hotel itself was nice, clean and comfortable. The only thing that let it down was the food, not great. The evening meal is in an adjoining restaurant and the quality was lacking. Breakfast ok though.

We stayed here before a flight from East Midlands airport as the parking came with the hotel. We checked in really quickly and the staff were really friendly. The room was lovely, clean and modern and the shower was amazing. There was a TV in the room. The only criticism was if you had the window open you could hear a lot of passing traffic. We went across to the bar for a night cap which was lovely, albeit a bit on the expensive side. I would definitely stay here again, great location for the airport.

I stayed here on a business trip. Unfortunately I was in a ground floor room with no A/C and the temp was over 30 on this particular day ! The windows opened but the was no security closure so felt a wee bit uneasy during the night. The only other moan, the ashtray is placed right outside the entrance which is not pleasant, I'm one of those ex smokers ! Clean room and

I've stayed here twice (start of June and start of July 2018 - one day each time) and picked the hotel based upon location and the Best Western brand reputation. The hotel was generally ok, the decoration was a little tired but the bed was comfy and it was clean so does the job for cheap ish one night stays. There is an additional building which serves as a restaurant bar in the evening (did not try and instead chose to go across the road to another hotel restaurant as it looked nicer). Did have breakfast there one of the times though, and it was fine, a good buffet selection.

Stayed here for a few nights and had a couple of issues. Made it very clear multiple times before I arrived that I'd need to check in earlier than the 2pm usual. Over the phone, it was made out to me that it wouldn't be a problem to check in early. However, this was not the case on the day. Had a very rude member of staff on reception basically tell me to get lost. With the room itself, I had a room facing the road, which meant it was pretty loud. You can ask for ear protection to keep the noise out, but I personally can't sleep with them in. Made it worse that I had to have the window open. The window had to be open because the room was roasting hot, with no way of cooling it down. Other than that, the location is good, you're close to the M1 motorway, east midlands airport and Nottingham City Centre. Other than the pillows that are simply too thick, the bed was comfortable. I'd probably recommend staying over the road at the Novotel if I'm being honest.

Me and my husband came to your hotel for a relaxing weekend away. We experienced friendly staff in the breakfast room on both mornings. I do feel that the staff paid more attention to deal on Saturday morning as on sunday they was very stretched with the amount of guests staying over. Despite this on sunday both members of staff (female) made sure that all customers had everything they needed to enjoy their breakfast. Very friendly staff. Food was excellent. We ate in the grill one night and really enjoyed the food. From the hotel we found there was excellent routes to all the places we wanted to go to. The bedroom was very spacious. The pillows where not to my liking and once mentioned to the receptionist on check out she politely let us know that they offer softer pillows. We would happily stay at this hotel again if we came to the area

The full experience was a nightmare. Finally the breakfast at "the grill" is using the scarcity concept of being the only one in the area, at a walking distance. Prices are high for an eggs-and-beans breakfast. If one hour before the closing time something is finished and you ask for it the reply is "Sorry, we already loaded two times the tray!"....but price won't change. Ridicolous!....Per gli Italiani, meglio il Novotel a 20m di distanza.

Stayed for the weekend while visiting Warhammer World. Very happy with the room. Fan provided enough cool air to keep the room reasonable. Had no issues with the ladies on reception, there were helpful and friendly. Dropped some change under the bed one night, and when the room had been cleaned I found what I had missed on the table! a very nice surprise! I would have no issues staying again, £60 a night was a bargain!

The hotel itself was fine ticked all the boxes. Cheap but presentable ? Clean....ish rooms ? Close to the airport ? Restaurant across for the hotel ? Only down side and it is a rather large down side was the that who ever was on the reception when myself, wife and children arrived was incredibly rude not only to myself but to others arriving also. While having some food from the restaurant we began chatting to someone who had also experienced the rude attitude I believe they said her name was Nicole? Short woman with glasses, definitely need to make sort out that large issue. Rude staff memeber ?

I would firstly like to start off by saying that I do not normally leave reviews but after my visit to this establishment it seemed only fitting that any potential future guests/clients should be advised/warned about certain goings on around the hotel. I'll start off by saying that the secure car park isn't very secure concidering that the enterance/exit barrier seemed to be broken during my visit and I got the impression that it had been for some time by the staff, it just seems to be left up so anyone can venture in and out the parking area. The decor of the hotel seems a bit dated and I've noticed quite a few reviews saying similar things the chairs in the main communal area are definitely well used and smell and the carpets are a little worse for wear. Upon my arrival into the check in area there was nobody present at the front desk I didn't think this to be too unusual as I don't expect the red carpet reception on arrival, but in the back I could hear something that sounded like a tv so I assumed who ever should of been in the desk was in the office watching something. There's a big bell on the desk at reception I can only assume is used to ding for assistance so after hearing the sound of a tv (wasn't the one in the main common area) I pressed the bell to alert the reception of my arrival and in truth I rather wish I hadn't. Out stomped a woman (to which I later found her name to be Nicola) and I was greeted with quite frankly the most rudest person I've ever had the misfuture of having to deal with, instead of asking me if I'd like to check in or if something was wrong I was simply greeted with “yes” I remained calm and stated that I was here to check in and gave my name. I was then given a sigh and she began to go through some papers and then replied that my name wasn't there, still remaining quite calm concidering the discusting attitude I'd been greeted with I stated that I had my reservation email if that would help procedings to which I was joyfully greeted with another puff of her cheeks and she then moved to the computer and just began banging at the keyboard. With no actual words spoken I was still waiting for a resonse so I again asked asked if she would like to see my reservation email for the booking in question, she then snapped back at me she was looking at it and that my information had not been printed. By this point I had began to tire of the quite frankly terrible attitude I had encounted and stated that if she had bothered to reply to me the first time I would not of had to repeat my question. After this she handed me a sheet and I filled it in and she stated my room and where it was and then proceeded to walk back in the office from where she came from, I did try to get her name but she had completely ignored me when I asked and just walked off and so I left to find my room. The hall way carpets are a little on the rough side and the hallway itself smelt quite bad fortunately the room I stayed in didn't, although as I've previously stated the decor is a little dated and again the carpets and curtains could do with a refresh. The shower is pretty much a plastic box you stand in with a seat and the bathroom sink is separate to the box shower and toilet I know some may find this strange, it's almost as though the shower and toilet was done and then they realised that a sink is needed too and just stuck it in. The room was very hot due to no a/c but If you want this you find a hotel with it, the fan in the room how ever was full of dust and the window looks like it hasn't been looked at since the day of opening. It just had loose fitted latches which meant loose closing windows. The beds were comfortable not really much else to report on this particular item, Two cups for tea and coffee except one cup was dirty. The tv worked on some channels but not all it was only freeview but even so a large majority of the channels had no signal. To sum things up in my opinion this is definitely a budget hotel but it doesn't always charge budget prices £60 for a room here is far to much considering the discusting attitude of Nicola and the few room faults and dated decor, three stars is a bit generous all things considered perhaps the inspection was held in rooms up to standard with a receptionist present who wasn't rude.

This is a great hotel to stay in as it has everything you need for your overnight stay. The car park was fine, the reception was very helpful and the room very good. Big enough for the 3 beds and all amenities that you might need. You could not get better beds to sleep on. Highly recommend this hotel. The only downside was that it could do with a lift but not a big issue.

We spend a lot of nights at BW hotels and usually seek one out near to where we want to be. We wish we'd chosen a different chain closer to our Saturday/Sunday event. I probably would have increased the rating to 3/4 if I wasn't including the restaurant - The Grill at 25. But as dinner and breakfast were included in our rate, the hotel has to take some responsibility for the inadequate service there. Reception couldn't be faulted, but the bedroom arrangement, especially the lighting and switches wasn't helpful. The main switches were by the door. There were some above the bed but we gave up trying to work out anything much with those, other than two helpful sidelights. The biggest difficulty with the lights related to the shower and hand basin. The washing facilities were outside the toilet and shower cubicle. There was one switch that controlled them and these lights all came on together. Fine during the day - but very difficult at night. To get a toilet light meant finding the switch near the door and then flooding the bedroom with the light over the wash basin. We resorted to a good old-fashioned torch. Several reviewers have commented on the heat. We had a fan, which helped. But surely the provision of summer weight duvets isn't impossible? It's unlikely we'll visit the area again, but we wouldn't add this hotel o our future wish list.

I stay here regularly about 10 nights a month as working away from home in the area. I've stayed in lots of other hotels in the area and this is the best in terms of room comfort, value for money and location. The rooms are spacious, modern and the beds are very comfortable. I have enough room to roll out my yoga mat. The spacious shower pod is great but the hotel does suffer with lack of water pressure sometimes.Tea caddy is good with a selection from Ringtons which is good quality. I'm a light sleeper so do normally ask for a room on the "quiet" non M1 facing side and have never had a problem. Breakfast is standard but isnt a great selection, it's enough to get you going though. There never seems to be enough fruit both in the mixed bowl and in the baskets. Food in the diner is generally very good, though the service could be improved and it would be great to offer guests room service for a tray charge. If youre a runner dont worry about not having a gym, there a some great routes with a nice canal tow path and trails nearby. Would be good for the hotel to have a hand out which shows a 5km and 10km route for guests. All in all good value for money with standard rooms booking direct being about £60, pay a little bit more and get a superior room which are much bigger and have a seperate seating area.

Stayed here earlier this week for work. It's great that it's by the motorway so easy to get on with travel the next morning It's got plenty of parking. Room was clean and tidy with what's required too. The restaurant is very nice and the food is quite tasty. Breakfast is okay but not great. Will be back

Stayed here on an overnight business stay recently. Fairly typical modern ish BW build that is kind of a travelodge / premier inn type affair. Friendly reception staff and check in and out. Room was comfortable, as was the bed, but a bit tired on the furnishings and decor. But my main gripe was the temperature. Sure, perhaps you can't blame a hotel for the room temperature, and it WAS a very hot day.. but... It has one of those designs on the second floor that the upper rooms are effectively in the attic with sloping ceilings. That means that the sun is beating down all day directly on the roof of your room. Even with all the windows open (I had corner room with several windows) it was stifling. There was a room heater on the wall that had a thermometer on the screen and at times my room was reading 32 degrees. And there's the thing. There is a heater, but there is no air conditioning. And because this is next to the motorway, sleeping with the windows open was simply not an option. If you have a hotel built like this, then you really in this day and age need to invest in air conditioning. I don't like sleeping in a sauna...

Checking out of this hotel was a delight. Other highlights include: the restaurant staff‘s competition for Most Despair and Disinterest At Work Ever; the small children allowed to stay up late to use the restaurant as an indoor play and climbing centre; the tailored cut of the blackout curtains, designed to let as much light as possible into the room; and the comforting zoom of nearby road noise if it's a hot night and you need to leave the window open.

We booked this hotel as it best suited us for attending Download Festival - at festival prices! It is listed as a 3 star hotel so expectations weren't too high. However the hotel provided everything we needed for our long weekend. Shower was one of the best I've ever used in some 4 and 5 star hotels. Staff were great, very helpful and night staff were even better than that, helping with taxis when delays held them up. Breakfast was good and no waiting times as it was a hot buffet. Only down side is, if you want to choose to go out for breakfast or a quick pint, there's not a lot in the vicinity unless you're willing to walk for 25 - 30 minutes.

Stayed one night to visit family. Reception area is clean and welcoming. Booked on line so check in was a breeze. The room was clean but in places the deco was quite dated and there were places between the bathroom door that you could see through and it isn't what you expect from a hotel.Breakfast was varied but hot food wasn't brought out regularly and what was there was left to dry out and wasn't very pleasant to eat. The eatery was clean and staffed. Car park was very busy and with only a couple of disabled bays we had to park all the way round the other side by the restaurant.

I have now stayed in a very large and very comfortable room twice along with my pooch. We come up from Oxford and we are usually in an out for the duration of the stay and only spend a relatively short time in the actual hotel, but the room is spacious, clean and the bed is large and very comfortable. On both occasions it has been a pleasure to stop and for a relatively cheap price the convenience is just perfect. We are booked again for next month and hope to stay on many more occasions while my dog's elderly previous owner, who lives in Nottingham, benefits from still having contact with her precious pet.

Another one night stay which wasn't as good as previous visits. I was pleased to be allocated a room away from the M1 but there was some sort of function in a nearby Conference Room which made a bit of noise. I ate in the restaurant for the first time and was slightly disappointed with the service although the food was OK. Breakfast good

Staff on reception just fab, didn't catch her name but so lovely!!! Rooms old but clean and spacious and for the price we paid I couldn't complain if I wanted. Would stay again if flying from East Midlands.

My first stay in Best Western, I usually use the other large hotel chains. I am a Best Western convert. The family room was made up with 3 beds as requested. ALL beds were comfortable. The room is large - does not feel cramped with 3 beds. Note my family room was on the 2nd floor, there is no lift, fine for my family, maybe problem for young families. The room was very warm, the two fans provided were very welcome. No air conditioning but for the price paid I wouldn't expect it. Plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. Bathroom is adequate, water pressure in the shower isn't great. Decor a little tired. The light switch is in the main room, light sleeping people beware. The room is extremely dark at night, in the morning the light comes under the curtain onto the children's beds. I was pleased I read the review suggesting to take a night light. The M1 is very close but the glazing dulls the sound plenty enough for sleeping. Breakfast was plentiful in quantity and choice. The staff very attentive and helpful. Decent coffee makes a pleasant change from the alternative large hotel chains. Overall a good stay, inexpensive, excellent value for money, good nights sleep, good breakfast, convenient location.

Stayed for one night for early morning flight from East midlands airport. Service good in both hotel and restaurant. Room in need of decorating and a thourolly good clean. A little disappointed with Best Western, thought it would have been better

The staff within the hotel were very polite and helpful. The room was very comfortable and a decent WiFi signal (The first hotel we have stayed in that does). The restaurant had a good menu and the staff were excellent. The breakfast was very nice and fresh.

Comfortable stay with attentive staff and clean room and great size. Good location. Restaurant very good . Had a problem with a gluten free starter size but this was rectified immediately and cost knocked off the bill

Stayed for one night in a family room with a dog. Have never taken a dog to a hotel before and couldn't believe how easy it was, mainly thanks to the great staff. Reception were very good at pointing is in the direction of nice walks and green spaces. Food was delivered to the lounge area so that our dog could stay with us. Having said all that, if we didn't have a dog with us we wouldn't have noticed anything doggy about the place, as spotlessly clean. The room was more than adequate for a over night stay, but other reviews are right.. the pillows are terrible! If staying with children a night light would be handy as the room is otherwise pitch black. the loo light switches on a light in the main room too! But small things in an otherwise very good value stay. Would definately stay again. Brilliant motorway access.

Me and my partner stayed here 1 night on our way to the airport the following morning, room very nice everything in it you needed, Bar/grill just across the way. Staff friendly, ground floor room was asked if we wanted a early morning call which we got, good car parking around the back couldn't fault it for what we paid.

We booked here last minute as our flight was early and we were worried about the weather. We had a great stay. Barrier controlled entry which made us happy about leaving some luggage in the car. Very clean reception area and very helpful staff. Room was a family size with one double and two single beds and they were extremely comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for one night and the first thing I noticed was that the toilet bowl was badly stained with blue marks - presumably from a disinfectant block in the cistern. On closer inspection the part of the toilet bowl that is under water had lots of dark stains. Obviously not something that's a hygiene problem, but just a bit off-putting and not what I normally expect from BW hotels. In the morning we discovered that sink didn't drain properly and even with the plug mechanism removed water still sat in the sink for about 5 minutes before eventually draining away. As we checked-out I mentioned these two issues to the receptionist. This wasn't done to try to obtain a refund or reduction in the price, simply to inform them that they had maintenance issues that needed attention. Unfortunately the receptionist was very dismissive of my comments and gave the impression that she wasn't really interested. She blamed the toilet issue on the fact that the cleaning staff aren't allowed to use strong cleaning materials anymore and turned my description of the blocked skunk into it being “a little bit slow to drain”. I'd expected an “oh, I'm extremely sorry to hear that sir, thank you for letting us know” type of response when in reality the response was exactly the opposite.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night due to moving house. There is free parking on site and a bar/grill a 10 second walk from the hotels main lobby. We were immediately greeted by a friendly l, smiling receptionist. This was lovely after a long journey, nothing was too much trouble and she was so polite. The service really was great, she pre warned us that the noise could be quite bad due to the close proximity of the road and complementary earplugs were offered. The room itself was comfortable and clean. There was complementary toiletries and hairdryer. The room we had had a walk in shower but no bath. This was fine with us as the shower had plenty of power and unlike some hotel showers actually got nice and hot. All in all we were very happy with our stay and would definitely stay there again on a short term basis.

Stayed here one night on business. Upon check-in the receptionist bothered to get up in a lazy fashion to “welcome me”. All through the checkin it felt unhospitable and I was glad to get to my room. Room? Ok, decent size. Pretty clean and tidy. Facilities? Bar (not a great one) and restaurant are across from the accommodation. I don't like this set up. It may may sense to try and attract outside business, but frankly the food and menu doesn't warrant it. I had to complain back to receptionist about the bar/restaurant. Just don't like the feel of this place. Staff that are ambivalent and facilities set up I dislike. Won't stay again.

One night on business. Good location for ease of access from the M1. Room was large although the bathroom was a little dated. The issue was the road noise from the front of the hotel. I may have just been unlucky with room location but it sounded like a window was open! Having stayed at Premier Inns next to busy roads before their rooms are far better insulated

Very poor standard that room is no good shouldn't offer to the customer nothing is good about the room. Check in staff need training no manners.it was that bad I have to leave in the evening couldn't sleep in that room

We stayed 2 nights for an event in Nottingham. It's a decent hotel with secure parking and good Wi-fi. It is quite a distance from Nottingham Centre so more useful for motorway travellers as it's just off junction 25. There is an allied pub/restaurant in the same complex which serves decent food and is the location for he hotel breakfast. All staff were very friendly and efficient.

The hotel is really easy to find just off jct 25 of M1. I arrived at 930 check in was ok and quick disappointed to learn that I had missed food and there is no room service option. The receptionist did suggest I could order takeaway and get it delivered which I did and she was helpful in getting a plate and cutlery. The room was spacious and clean. Super hot water from shower which is so big you could have a party o it!!!! Was worried about traffic noise as I was on motorway side but it was ok as I kept window shut. Breakfast was standard. All in all an ok 1 night stop over

Ideally situated for the M1. Friendly staff and well equipped rooms. I didn't eat in the grill but the menu looks OK. Good choice of breakfast. It's the location that does it for me and another stay is already booked

Booked this hotel with a week long car park deal at East Midlands Airport. The cost of one night stay and a week in Long Stay car park was cheaper than many car park only deals at airports. The hotel is easy to find one junction up the M1 from the airport. With the roadworks at the moment allow 30 minutes. The room was bigger than some chain hotels and although unusual to have the sink in the room it had all the essentials for the overnight stay. There is a restaurant on site which we didn't use. Menu looked basic. We were near enough to the airport to have breakfast there which suited our timings better. We would use the hotel again if flying from East Midlands.

We stayed at the BW Nottingham Derby for two nights in early February (booking through booking.com for the excellent price of £83, excluding breakfast). I had called ahead to advise that I have limited mobility and we were allocated a ground floor room which was very close to reception. This thoughtfulness was absolutely typical of the consideration we received from all staff throughout, from reception to the cleaning staff to the barmen at the onsite restaurant/bar. The hotel is located moments from the M1 (in fact, it is visible as you approach the junction from the south), but with the windows closed we didn't notice any noise at all rom the motorway. The hotel does allow dogs, and there was a rather noisy specimen down our hallway, but it wasn't the end of the world. The room was of a good temperature and there was air con to be amended as required, with a fan under the luggage rack - not needed in February, of course, but good to see. There were 2 disabled parking spaces right next to the hotel entrance, and a further space behind the restaurant. The room was of an excellent size for the price, and included a large kingsized bed (two twins connected together). Bed size is important for us, so this was great. As other reviewers have mentioned, the sink is in the room itself, but this was no problem for us. A hairdryer and an iron were in the drawer of the main sideboard unit. The fatal flaw mentioned above for us was the shower. As other reviewers have mentioned, the shower is a unusually shaped large unit with an oval base, a moulded seat and a moulded shelf - all useful features. However, the water pressure was very weak (although useable). Of more concern, however, was the changing temperature we experienced Sunday morning. Without touching the control, the water temperature cycled through unpleasantly cold, to tepid, to scalding hot and back again every 30-45 seconds. Both my husband and I were genuinely having to move around the unit (good thing it was large) to only be in the path of the water stream on irregular intervals and the first time it happened, I almost slipped and fell in my rush to get out of the way. We did report this to the reception, who displayed shock and dismay, and that they would call maintenance - however, before writing this review, I searched the existing comments and I note that this is not an unknown problem by any means. For some, this may have been an minor inconvenience, but we enjoy our showers and for me this could have been a little dangerous - hence it has cost them a star. All other aspects of the visit were very good and this is not to say we wouldn't stay here again - but we would check the shower before we got into it!

Stayed over one night as we were going out for night out in Nottingham. Upon arrival at the hotel we took advantage of the free parking on site. Once parked up it was time to check in. The hotel lobby is clean and welcoming. The reception staff were very friendly and pointed us in the direction of our room. Our room was a classed as a double room. It was very clean albeit basic. Flat screen TV on the wall, a safe, iron and a kettle with tea and coffee. The bathroom needs updating with its wooden sliding door and ‘pod' like shower room. Checkout was fast and the staff were polite. Would I stop here again? Probably in all honesty. The price we paid was very reasonable and with only a 15 minute taxi ride to Nottingham it's in a good location.

Stayed for one night after flying in from Tenerife before traveling home. Arrived at hotel at 11.50pm and it took awhile for someone to open the security barrier to get in. Once in everything was fine with great room and nice breakfast in the morning.

We stayed at this hotel for one night as we were going to an event in Long Eaton. The receptionist on arrival was very friendly and helpful Room was nice and bed was comfortable. I liked the sink and mirror outside of the shower room- no waiting for condensation to clear! Would definitely use again if we were in the area.

I stayed at this hotel with my mother last week, as we had to in Derby early in the morning, we stayed here because we thought it was easier than long drive early in the morning down the motorway but in fact we wish we would have driven down in the morning as we got barley any sleep, we had dinner in the restaurant after we waited an hour and half for dinner, we both had the same, prawn and salmon risotto, once it had arrived the quality was OK but in the night me and my mother both felt nauseous and my mother actually was sick several times throughout the night, to make things worse the fire alarm actually went off twice throughout the night as well, when we mentioned this to the receptionist she said this was due to people smoking in their room, we also mentioned the fact we both felt very ill after dinner and one of us was sick several times and she just said it would have been cooked at the right temperature which just made us feel like the didn't believe we we're in fact ill after dinner. My mother had such a bad nights sleep we ended up having to spend another £73 on a room for her to sleep in, in the day so she could muster the strength to travel home, you stay in a hotel for comfort and convenience but this served neither purpose.

absolutely brilliant hotel, we have stayed here 4 times previously and are booked to come back on the 2nd feburary we travel to Nottingham about 3 times a year for a wheelchair basketball and we always book around 8-14 rooms it is not easy to find an accessible hotel that can accommodate our whole team although not all the rooms are registered as accessible rooms we have found all the rooms we have stayed in to be brilliantly accessible with all the ground floor showers to have a seat in we recommend this hotel to everyone we know when it comes to accessibility also the price is always really good to. but our favourite thing about this hotel is the huge communal area/ lounge in the reception area and a lovely bar/restaurant just over the road thank you for being such a lovely hotel with lovely customer service

Stayed one night on a business trip, first time here. The location is excellent being next to the motorway. I see there are a few complaints on here about traffic noise, my advice would be not to book a hotel next to the M1 then! I didn't have a problem with the noise at all. Nice room, unusual layout with the bathroom I thought (wash basin in the room) but was suitable for me on my own. Nice food across at the Grill. Would stay again as good value for money.

Nice hotel convenient for M1, Notting University and Nottingham City centre as well as other places around. Friendly and very helpful staff and clean hotel. Great value for money. We ate in the restaurant one night and food was good though a bit limited in choice for vegetarians.

I booked this hotel for my partner who was on a business trip. She arrived at the "hotel" and was greeted by an extremely rude receptionist but it has to be said that the rest of the staff were friendly during the stay which is why we are giving a 2 star review and not a 1 star. We booked a room with king bed and were given a room with a king and 2 others. The room was absolutely freezing and there was a strange smell on the landing leading to the room. A thouroughly unpleasant stay

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the best Western. What a fantastic hotel great room,great staff and fantastic breakfast. The room was cosy and warm,lovely comfy bed and pillows,staff was very polite and helpful. The breakfast had a great choice everything you could ask for. Just a small suggestion though would be nice to have a small pack of biscuits to accompany the coffee,will definitely recommend it to friends and family. Thank-you best Western Sandiacre.

We my sister and Aunt stayed here on our way down to a family funeral. The room was very spacious and had everything needed for a relaxing stay. You do get a bit of noise from the m1 but that's to be expected, lovely clean hotel and nice friendly helpful staff.

Plenty of secure parking and check in was quick and easy. Hotel was very clean and tidy. Room was clean and tidy, however bathroom a little dated. Bed comfortable. Negative was the windows and door. Being next to the main road I would of though double was required but it wasn't so it was noise all evening and all night. Also door is thin so you can hear everything in the corridor. Breakfast service excellent and good selection of food.

An excellent comfortable hotel in an ideal location just off the M1. Ideal for overnight stays, or longer stays to explore nearby Nottingham and Derby. We stayed, enroute to Scotland, in a Family Room on a Best Western Rewards member Special Offer which included free breakfast. The room number 312 was quiet, warm, spacious, well appointed, with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was served in the adjoining Grill/Bar /Restaurant. There was an excellent selection of hot and cold options in buffet style, with some hot options available to order. It appears the hotel's mainstream customers are business people for conferences etc, and so at offpeak times such as Sundays, particularly good offers are available to Best Western Rewards Members.

Nice hotel with large clean room but surprisingly no food available at lunchtime on Friday as the attached restaurant only opens at 5.30pm which is not acceptable. I had to walk 15 minutes to the nearest pub (The Bridge) for food(which was excellent). Also the vending machine was broken the previous evening so no drinks or snacks available.

I paid £55-00 for this double room and I got a £55 double room..... clean and tidy usual facilities, the shower cubicle is a bit 70's but other than that cant complain, bar and grill over the car park so handy wifi etc. I will use this place again as its convenient to where i want to be and the M1

3 stats on trip advisor should be average but good. Great service and location and we survived being next to the motorway. Had a large room with sofa etc, but odd arrangement with the sink and the bathroom. A roller door that doesn't shut is not ideal. For the price and service great. I'd give the restaurant next door a miss, despite its potential it could be much better.

This hotel was in a convenient location for us to stay after attending a family party in Long Eaton. Check in Staff efficient and friendly and hotel appearance very tidy. Comfortable, good night's sleep in spite of closeness to motorway. Clean, good sized room although en-suite would benefit from update. Value for money.

Stayed here for one night, pleasant girls on check in, room nice size and plenty of toiletries also nice and clean, only disadvantage was that we had a ground floor room so couldn't leave the window open and room was quite warm.

This hotel optimises why you get no continuity across the best western brand in THE UK. It's not like Premier Inn or other chains. Just a franchise that'll put their name on anything. Hotel is fairly comfortable itself. Bar smelt of fried food. Breakfast. Poached eggs took about 30mins to arrive & the fried eggs on buffet looked like my 4 year old had cooked them (see pic!). Car park is spacious, every time We've parked there for work the same Car is parked in a disabled bay (without a badge). We suspect a member Off staff miss using disabled bays. Shame.

Stopped one night at attending Derbyshire EBF & EWBF presentation night. Easy access, modern design, clean, very quiet, big comfortable bed, large good shower. Breakfast help yourself was a good selection. 12 noon good lay in.

So last night we came to the best western in Nottingham just for one night away from our little man ( aged 4, he is with grandparents) and to Pop in to a friends kids birthday. Booked online came straight in got the keycard and was told where the room is. We had a big room 3 beds good shower and others facilities were all you need basic.

Stayed here for one night with my husband and son we had 2 executive rooms with breakfast. Rooms were big, spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was very good plenty of food in the buffet. The staff were all helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back.

Nice Hotel, very clean, comfy bed with really nice pillows, the only downside is that it's next to the M1 and couldn't have windows open because of the traffic noise, but we did have a fan so that helped, the restaurant across the drive The Grill very nice and great breakfast.

Thank you for a pleasant stay at your hotel. We booked in for two nights and was not disappointed. I stayed with my husband and two children whilst we attended a wedding In the area and we were very happy with the service received and the family room that we stayed in. We had plenty of room, good size single beds for our children and a great double bed for us. All slept really well and due to the window insulation, we didn't hear the nearby motorway until we opened the windows each morning! The only negative would be that our shower room could be updated. This said, it was still very clean.

Check in was slow, but room was great. Reception was un-manned so had to hang around. Room was modern, clean and spacious. Although close to M1 could not hear traffic, and it was ideally place for my drive into the city.

Yes, the family room was massive. Two singles for the kids - the first time we've ever had this, and plenty of floor space. The minor downsides were: a terrible smell from the sink (which is in the room), and no independent toilet/shower light so if you need the loo in the night, you need a room light on too. With the sink smell: we stayed when it was warm so the windows were all open which helped but if the windows were closed it would have been awful. We reported it as we left. As the hotel is right next t the M1 there is some road noise, but equally, the price , I felt, reflected this. Staff were very polite. Some of my family were put in the disabled access room, but you have to pass through several fire doors to get there, so I felt it wasn't very accessible.

We stayed here as a stop-off on our way to Lincoln. The room was clean and a good size. The staff were very helpful. It's in a good location for us, just off the motorway so we could get back on our way easily in the morning, The breakfast was very good, loads of choice. this hotel was just what we were looking for.

Stay before going in holiday fantastic facilities staff are very helpful and accommodating would recommend full English buffet everything available all hot as well look forward to our stay in Sept but unfortunately we fly to early to have the breakfast

I'm not sure what I expected when I booked a hotel right next the M1 Motorway but this was not it. The road noise is terrible and constant. I'm a heavy sleeper but it kept me awake until approximately 1 a.m. and then woke me again at 4 a.m. Keep in mind that this was a Saturday night/Sunday morning so probably quieter than midweek too. The room I was in - 305, is not air conditioned so I needed the window(s) open which increased the noise considerably. There is a small sign in the room which indicates that free earplugs are available from reception so they do acknowledge how noisy it is. On top of the road noise was a intermittent ‘pump' type noise like a Saniflow or macerator type of thing which sounded regularly. The toilet flush squeaked, the shower dribbled noisily into the plastic cubicle. All in all, my ears took a battering from start to finish. Only one of the windows opened and I had to call the front desk to ask how this worked. The windows are roof light/Velux type. There is a panel on the wall with electric switches labelled Velux. This did not work as was confirmed by reception. The shower is of the type one sees from time to time in hotels which have been converted from houses (not that this one has). A self contained plastic unit which houses the shower, light and extractor in one. These are perfectly acceptable except for when they are so old that the plastic is cracking and crazing and is a sort of creamy off white. As mentioned earlier, the shower head dribbled profusely when in use, drumming onto the plastic shower base and making an awful din. There was a long dark hair on the outside of the toilet bowl and some suspicious white staining on the carpet - see photographs. Good points:- The free wi-fi works well and is fast enough to stream Netflix (10Mb down, 5Mb up was the average I achieved) Some of the public areas have been refurbished. Reception has had an update as has the adjacent restaurant and breakfast room. The food was perfectly acceptable too although the staff were what I can only describe as a little sombre. I wouldn't stay here again mainly because of the noise and out dated room.

We stayed at this hotel as a stopover the staff were friendly on arrival plenty parking spaces as well the rooms were spacious and bathrooms were clean and it was quiet for a nice relaxing stay I would recommend this hotel

We stayed as a family of 4 in late July. It was everything we expected when paying £60 for one night. The rooms were clean and spacious, the bathroom was a little tired and in need of updating but for the budget apt. The staff were helpful and polite and we would defiantly stay again.

Stayed here for one night last week and we had a lovely time. Hotel was clean, modern and the staff on reception we're very helpful. Our room was very big and although noisy this is to be expected as we knew where the hotel was based before booking so not the hotels fault. Would recommend and stay again.

Stayed here for 1 night for a gig at Nottingham Trent university. Lovely reception modern decor and modern bar area polite staff on reception too. Rooms a bit small and too full and a little dated ! Skirting boards were filth with what looked like some sort of liquid has been spilt down them, comfy bed although the scatter cushions smelt a bit rusty and not had a change of cover in a while. All around not a bad stay for the cost of £90 a night but would have liked the room s little cleaner and more towels as only 2 provided in a double room isn't a lott ! Parking is free but very busy small car park on a first come first served basis. Close to what we needed and plenty of takeaways chip shops nearby if you didn't want to eat at the over priced restaurant.

Ideally situated as it is near to junction 25 of the M1. Although the motorway was close there was no noise. Rooms were clean and comfortable if a bit basic. Breakfast in the grill next door was fine, but the menu was limited. Price was reasonable otherwise nothing special.

I was very happy with my stay (still there in room 121) until i tried to get a bar of chocolate from the machine in the lobby. Machine didn't work and receptionist told me the machine has nothing to do with them and Ive lost my money. Not good enough im afraid.

My partner and stayed for one night and as it was my partners birthday they were kind enough to upgrade us and decorated the room with balloons and a banner! A very kind touch! The room was spacious and the bath was massive! We had a great nights sleep! A big thank you to the team from both of us!

...and thought it looked a bit dated from the outside. Inside it had clearly been refreshed recently and was presented quite nicely. Friendly reception staff and they pointed us to the room upstairs. Clean, tidy and about all you could need. Also had a business meeting here in one of their conference rooms on the first floor. Only downside was that the public toilets were downstairs from the first floor. Reasonable prices, nice hotel. Nothing out of the ordinary but perfectly acceptable.

We decided to stay here as we were having a day out at Donnington Park. Living up North we weren't fancying the drive home as we wanted to enjoy our day. Late check in wasn't a problem. Room was tidy enough and clean, it had everything we needed. Even an iron and ironing board. The shower was ( to me ) the only thing that let the room down, enough power and heat and plenty of space, even a seat, which is a new one to me. It just could have been a bit cleaner. Bits of mould. But, again being a northerner , I just got on with it. Comfy bed, good tv. Restaurant over the road does decent food but the service was a bit sketchy, a bit Faulty Towers. All in all a decent stay with no big issues. Enjoy.

Arriving late on Saturday night check-in was quick. The room was on the ground floor facing the motorway so as in other reviews yes there is road noise. The shower room was tiny... literally a plastic cubicle and a toilet... the cubicle could do with the mould removing.. toilet stopped flushing.. wash basin again plastic and in the room. Light bulbs needed replacing. The room needed a good dust bedside shelf was well furry. Mirrors are not near to plugs for anyone wanting to use hair dryer straighteners. Breakfast was ok. Not the best hotel under the best western name brand.

We stayed one night at this hotel which is conveniently located next to junction 25 of the M1. Perhaps it is too close to the M1 because it is not possible to sleep with the windows open although wth them closed you are isolated from the traffic noise. We booked on line and the price was fair for the clean room, basic furnishings and somewhat tired decor. We did not eat at the adjoining restaurant as we arrived late and had to leave before breakfast was served. Check-in was easy. There is no bar in the hotel, just drinks from a vending machine. Apparently there is a bar in the restaurant. It was a 15-20 minute drive into Nottingham and there is very little sign of entertainment near the hotel. Basically it's a fair priced dormitory for anyone needing to break their journey on the M1

Having booked a double room back in January of this year we arrived after a long hot drive from Somerset. We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist who gave us our keys to the room. We found the room large, clean & comfortable. After we had checked in again we found the receptionist very helpful when we were using the computer. We had dinner in the Grill 25 were the menu was varied and arrived after a short wait. The room was quite noisy as no air con and you had to open the window to let some air in. We found a strong smell of sewage after you first put the hot water tap on. A bit light on the choice of tea and coffee. After a comfortable night the breakfast was first class and plenty of it and choices. Keep it up and well done to all.

We only stayed for one night but the room was immaculate and the bed extremely comfortable. Fans were provided in the room which were very much appreciated. Breakfast was lovely with an excellent selection and certainly set us up for the day!

We were traveling through on our way north and stopped for one night with a toddler and a 12-year-old. We had a family room, which was a large room with four beds and a cot. Price in NOK was 734,- for one night - about 69 GBP. Beds were comfy, and shower was large. We had an abundance of towels! We would have wished for child-proof windows and an elevator, but at this price we got more than we expected! Courteous staff and clean room! Breakfast and dinner in the Grill at 25 next door, with decent food and huge portions. Good, traditional English selections at the breakfast buffet.

We stayed one night. There's no air con but there were two fans in the room. Great bathroom - really spacious, huge bed, big television, chairs/tables for relaxing. Tea and coffee making facilities, and a good meal in the onsite grill. We were extremely impressed with this, and with the friendly efficiency of the staff.

Ideally located close to the M1 Jun 25, this hotel whilst basic with no in house restaurant, has a grill nearby. The room was a good size and well laid out, I spent two nights here and everything was okay. As I had to be out of the hotel each morning at 0700hrs did not have breakfast, from the looks of it I would be a very basic take away

A last minute booking meant that we finished up here instead of our usual hotel. Being Best Western I knew it would be ok but was nicely surprised that we got a lovely room on the ground floor as requested and the noise was not bad but we did feel a little warmer than we would have liked. At home we would have just turned on the air con but on checking with reception I was told there was no air con. The room and bathroom were clean and the staff at reception were welcoming and helpful. The car park is very large. We went out for dinner and when we arrived back it was late and dark and as a woman on my own, having dropped off my mother at the hotel entrance due to her mobility issues, I felt a little uncomfortable walking all the way from the far end of the car park...and I wondered how secure the car would be stuck so far away in a dark corner. It was great to have free wi-fi. The next morning I left mother and luggage at reception and was relieved to find the car untouched. Very briefly I parked in front of the reception to load up with no problem and typed in the security number to be let out of the hotel grounds.

I booked this as my regular hotel was fully booked due to a concert in the area. Never again! The road noise was that bad I thought the window was open and my room was on the hard shoulder. There was a printed card next to the toiletries stating if the road noise was too excessive reception would supply ear plugs (just what you want to read when you're after a good night's rest). The big bed turned out to be 2 single mattresses pushed together and covered in a double sheet so you couldn't sleep in the middle even if you wanted to without the mattress edges running up your back, pointless! Finally the hotel room door kept out very little noise if any from the corridor. You could hear a mouse running past in ballet shoes. P.s and I'm a heavy sleeper.

room very good, very clean, lots of onsite secure parking. Did not have breakfast, Onsite grill restaurant and bar, Witherspoons pub within 10 min walk. Only gripe was it was a bit remote to other pubs and restaurants. Overpriced for what it is.

Stated one night between business meetings, hotel seems to of recently had an update as it is clean and tidy with rooms containing everything you require. It was very hot when I stayed and the air conditioning didn't seem to work so the room was showing as 27c, luckily they had put fans in the room so there was some relief. Make sure you try to get a room on the back of the hotel otherwise you have an unobstructed view of the M1. The grill restaurant is part of the hotel but is a separate building. I went for dinner without booking and was told I was lucky to get a table as they had a large party that was staying in the hotel. No mention of this was made when checking in to the hotel. Breakfast is also served here, nothing special just standard.

We dined at the restaurant every evening of our stay and always found the restaurant and bar staff to be helpful, friendly and good-humoured. They were obviously rushed off their feet but as busy as they were they always maintained a cheerful demeanour which helped to make our stay a pleasant one.

Booked stay before holiday to Spain Room was not upgrade as I payed for No bottled water in the room. We book upgrade cos we have a small child and need a bed for him Room was facing the road on the hottest day of the year road noise cos window had to be open. No sleep Was supplied with small fan Spoke to reception after complaining about the water was told they missed off the upgrade and was not aware of it You get what you pay for or in this case Not

We just spent the one night here after visiting Download festival, so we only checked in after midnight , therefore only spending about 10 hours in the hotel . The check in was easy and friendly, the room was very big with a very comfortable large bed , excellent shower in the bathroom, tea and coffee with complimentary biscuits. Nice hotel ..

Best Westerns are often tired and in need of attention. This was a pleasant experience though. The outside looked like your standard British Best Western but inside it has been refurbed and done well. The car park is massive and round the back which is a bit of pain but it's plentiful. It also has a daily-changing barrier code which is a bit annoying. The bar appears to be a fridge in reception so I'm not sure it's all singing all dancing. There's a grill house on site over the driveway area. I didn't go there and had dinner in a pub nearby. Typically for a Best Western of this era it doesn't have a lift. No surprises there. But our room (a family room of two singles and a large double) was of a very good standard. There's noise from the road but it's a M1 hotel basically so no complaints. The bathroom was in need of greater refurb to bring this up to scratch and the shower went from hot to cold constantly. There is an abundance of pedestal fans which was good to see as these kind of rooms get hot easily. On check out I heard the two reception girls discussing the day's general election. One asked 'when's that voting thingy?'. The other told her it was this day. The first girl asked who she was voting for and she said Jeremy Corbyn 'because he's for the working class innit'. I felt that such titans of political commentary would have been best placed to discuss this away from the public gaze (and ear).

At the outset, I would say this hotel "is what it is"... next to the M1 and a good spot to pull in when tired and needing a night's accommodation. With that comes a little bit of road noise - although my room was away from that side and perfectly adequate insulation meant you could hear very little noise. It also means the grounds and hotel are just a little bit tired and lacking in atmosphere - especially on a cold, grey evening. However, it has a reasonable restaurant next door - great if tired and don't want to seek out anywhere else (recommend the Sunday roast - traditional and substantial). The breakfast buffet had a surprisingly wide range on offer - hot, cold, cereals and fruit, there was plenty to send you up the road. Lastly, the allocated double bedroom was HUGE and great for undertaking an unpack and reordering of luggage. In terms of price - probably what you would expect for the convenient, last minute location... which means you get what you paid for.

It has been some time since I stayed in a Best Western so it was with a little trepidation I booked this hotel - the cost seemed very low but its location was perfect however for a trip I was undertaking. I must say the whole experience was first class from the warm welcome from the front desk to the quality of the room and facilities. The shower was quite possibly the best I have ever had in a hotel and the room was cleaned to a very high standard. Good restaurant offering a good range of food at reasonable prices too. Downside a little noisey - it was located quite close to the motorway but this didn't detract from a lovely short stay. I am now a Best Western convert - I joined their membership programme but a little disappointed that there aren't enough places to stay in central London at a reasonable cost. I will however stay at this hotel if I am ever in the Nottingham area again!!

I stayed at this hotel on the 3rd June 2017 with family. When booking the rooms we informed them that my mother was disabled and would need a ground floor room. On arrival no ground floor rooms were available and the hotel has no lift. My terminally ill disable mother had to manage the steps because the hotel refused to help or offer an alternative for my parents. Absolutely disgraceful customer service, I will never stay at a best western again!!

We booked here so that we could relax before flying out. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. We had doors banging, people shouting in the corridors up till 2am. We had to be up at 4am to catch our flight. 2 Hours sleep didnt need to set the alarm as other guests were knocking doors at 4am to wake their friends. Will never stay here again.

Professional desk staff and a clean room that is of okay. No unique character that would make me wish to stay here on a non-work trip. Restaurant directly opposite is quite good for dinner and was very nice for breakfast. The bin lorry collected directly outside my window at 7am which was not ideal. It is pretty close to a major road. Had private parking behind the hotel.

Only here for one day from 9-5 for a work training course. Very friendly staff upon arrival and directed us to the conference room. Reception area, corridors and toilets were spotless. Tea, coffee, water and biscuits provided all day for free.

The room is modern, spacious , clean and laid out well with good facilities. Can't fault it. The big drawback is the insulation within the hotel or in the room where we stayed. Every time someone else closed their door it was really loud and the headboard in our room reverberated! Not great to be woken up at midnight, 2am and 5am with people coming and going.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, very clean and good value. We have stayed here many times for one or two nights and its always been the same. Everything works well, and happy to help over the phone if you need to adjust the book; ask for adjoining rooms, extra children's bed, late/ early access etc.

First impressions of the room were a surprise as it was tastefully and well decorated. Bed was large and comfortable and plush. There was a purpose made shower cubicle and plenty of hot water. The sink was actually in the bedroom and the toilet and shower room were separate. Service in the room was great. Considering the proximity to the M1 soundproofing was great and there was not much noise during our stay. Reception staff OK but could do with a personality improvement and were not to efficient when we reported a problem with the lights in our room which still was not fixed upon departure. Cleaning staff good. Car park was OK as well. Not a bad stay as there is a bar /grill on site . Would go there again

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. We had a large room, which was nice and clean. This hotel has a carpark which is secured by a barrier. Breakfast was very good, a nice selection of food, however this dining room was full, so we struggled to find anywhere to sit. The tv was on the wall so, along with a few children who were staying the room was very noisy. Overall a good stay.

Nice enough hotel for a short stay. Rooms were comfortable but the sound proofing wasn't very good. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed & lovely shower. My only complaint was that the cooked breakfast wasn't nice...tasted for cardboard for the priced paid.

Car park very secure. First impression of our family room was that it was huge! We stayed for 2 nights with 2 adults & 2 children (6 years old & 18 months). Staff were perfectly helpful, offered to help with our bags upon check in etc. We had breakfast on both mornings and, I can honestly say, it was the best breakfast buffet we've ever eaten at any hotel! Nice sausages, plenty of extras (fried bread, hash browns etc.) The children ate free which made it even better value. Our room was situated at the back of the hotel which made traffic noise inaudible. A couple of very minor downsides, the walls are fairly thin so some noise can be heard from the communal corridors. Slow closing 'fire doors' would resolve this issue easily. Overall a lovely stay and the children loved every second! Thank you Best Western Nottingham Derby!

Very generous sized rooms and comfortable bed but they are useless ione cannot get a decent night sleep with the noise coming from the motorway. Maybe it wasn't the room we had and the fact that I was sleeping below the window facing the motorway but even ear plugs did not help.

This is a well presented hotel. The parking is good (and behind a barrier), although would have liked a pathway to the reception door rather than walking on the road. The rooms are very clean, the bed very comfortable and the supplied toiletries are rather nice. The food in the adjacent restaurant is good and reasonably priced and the breakfast offers a good selection. Nice sized TV which allows use of the HDMI inputs so I could watch a movie from my laptop on the big screen. My main complaint is the noise isolation from the (very) nearby M1, there isn't any. I was in a second floor room and thought the skylight windows were open, they weren't - actually they are screwed shut! There was also a throbbing/humming noise when I was laying in bed, sounded like a central heating water pump. I ended up getting only fitful sleep and was actually quite tired in the morning as I was kept awake from the M1 noise and this 'pump'. Its a shame as I have stayed in hotels before near main roads/motorways; even a Best Western Metro which is about the same distance from the A4042 dual carriageway, not that you would know from inside the room it was near silent. So it isn't like Best Western can't make quiet rooms. Overall a very nice hotel that was let down for me by the lack of decent windows that kept the road noise out of the room and what ever was causing that noise from the room next to me.

One night stay in a generous room. Good ensuite shower. Sink in bedroom rather than bathroom, some people probably think this is a plus, others may not like it. Similarly bed was on the soft side for my taste, but that's a personal preference. Hotel very clean. Self service breakfast was definitely OK, reasonable choice and all the hot items regularly topped up. I didn't spot until I'd finished that I could have had a veggie sausage if I'd asked, will bear this in mind next time I'm in a Best Western. Receptionist friendly and helpful. The major drawback for us was that our room was very close to the nearby motorway, so naturally it was noisy all night. This might not bother everyone, but if it's important for you, it would be worth asking if there are quieter rooms. Overall, I reckon it was just about worth a rating of four.

We had lovely rooms and Our Kids like the fact they had there prober beds as we have had hotels that the second bed had to be pulled Out from underneath another bed. The only thing We didn't like there was no one at the reception desk when we got there we had to wait even thro we hit the bell a couple of times but the Lady did apologise when she came.

We are elderly people and I was grateful to start with that we had a ground floor room . Across at the grill we had a nice meal and a couple of drinks( a bit expensive ) before retiring at about 10.00 ish for an early night before our early flight the next morning. Half an hour later the march of the mods started in the room above us, backwards and forwards he/she went, after an eternity, I decided to go to reception and ask the girl on duty if she would ring the room above us and ask who ever it was to consider others in the hotel (namely us) and stop the clumping around the room. I was told the person had blocked any phone calls go to there room so she couldn`t ring?. The girl then went up to the room and listened at the door but said she heard nothing and said they might have gone to bed. Ten minutes later it started again , back I went to the reception and told the girl if she wouldn`t/couldn`t put a stop to it I would go up and do it myself. She told me I had better not do that otherwise she would call security ! I told her if I go up she had better get the police because we had paid for a good nights sleep and we where getting robbed of it, I then told her if it continued for more than ten more minutes I would be going up myself to that I got no reply. The remainder of the night quietened down somewhat, My wife and I got up at 03.45 and went to the airport still tired from our lack of sleep, We will certainly not be using best western hotels again !!! at least with Premier Inn your are guaranteed a good nights sleep or your money back .

Staying over for 2 nights on a course pleasant staff spotless room amazing bed and shower with massage function plenty of tea and coffee in room big room free iron hairdryer and shampoos and lotion will defo stay in future had a room in the middle of hotel so not much traffic noise from the M1 motorway

Stayed here recently due to a last minute visit to Nottingham. Most hotels in the city were sold out or extortionately priced so although a few miles away this place was a cheaper option. Check in was smooth and rooms were clean and tidy. Car park outside for guests and if looking to travel into the city there is a bus stop round the corner and the bus cost £3 (I think) to the city takes about an hour and much cheaper than an £18 taxi. Would stay here again if visting the area.

It is what it claims to be really clean nice hotel good price for what you get. If you just need somewhere to lay your head go for it :) the staff are helpful didn't try the food so not sure about it the location could be better not alot around there unless you drive more Into long eaton can't really walk to a shop but all round good

Stayed here a couple of nights when visiting friends. Room was clean but past it's best. Furniture a bit worn. VERY noisy. Not much sound insulation. Could hear the phone call at 2am in the room above as clear as a bell. Lots of noise from corridors. AND whoever designed a room where the room lights also come on when you switch the toilet light on needs to be sacked. Take a torch unless you want to disturb your fellow room mates if you get up in the night. Overall very very disappointing.

Easy to find Room was big and airy and clean, bed comfortable the lighting system in the room annoyed me and was frustrating but maybe that's me! There is no hotel lift so beware, nor an onsite bar it's actually separate to the hotel granted it's only outside by the entrance, the Grill itself was expensive and the best part of my evening meal was the bread I got with my olives ( they were the commercial kind on flavour except for the brine) my steak was so so! I asked for extra mushroom instead of chips they were pretty awful too ( I was expecting a couple large flat these gave the impression of tinned) Breakfast for the price was expensive and lacked a little table service (the usual buffet) Overall the experience wasn't a pleasant one for me

My friend and I stayed here to be near to a birthday party we were going to in Long Eaton. We had a large clean twin bed room. Beds were comfortable and bedding was clean. We had tea making facilities. Our only complaint was the washbasin was actually in the bedroom so no privacy.There was a separate toilet and shower cubicle.Price was reasonable so I guess you get what you pay for. We were on the ground floor and could hear noise from floor above until after 3am Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Our stay at Best Western Nottingham Derby was very good(BWVG). The place was clean and warm. The people(staff) were alert and helpful. Both reception and dining staff were attentive and accommodating. Thank you!

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Nottingham/Derby in Long Eaton for two nights. Although part of a group of friends staying at the hotel, we made our bookings independently. The hotel was very easy to find and there was lots of parking behind the hotel. We were allocated Room 103 (ground floor) but quickly found out the room's heater was not working (the room was decidedly chilly) so the very helpful Italian lady on the reception desk swopped us to Room 102. This room was fine - quite large by English standards - and fairly well appointed. Although the hotel is very close to the M1 motorway, we were not disturbed by any traffic noise (I believe that the the rooms are double or triple glazed) although, Room 102 did not face the motorway. The shower was excellent and there were a good supply of toiletries. There was a large lounge, with lots of seating, close to reception and the group used it to sit and chat together. The hotel's associated restaurant was less than one minute's walk from the hotel. We had two evening meals and two breakfasts there. Our two evening meals were of excellent quality and the portions were very generous indeed. The restaurant manageress was charming - she could not have been more helpful. The buffet breakfast was good with a choice of several cereals, hot food and pastries. All in all, we could not fault either the hotel or its accompanying restaurant and we would certainly stay there again if we were in the area.

8 of us needed a place to stop overnight as part of a college reunion. This motorway hotel is very conveniently situated by junction 25 of the M1. This leads to the only criticism we could make and that is that the road noise in some rooms is quite noticeable. The rooms themselves are showing signs of age but nothing too serious. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful and our party of 8 had two good evening meals and two breakfasts at the on-site restaurant with good quality food, friendly service and very good value. There is a large seating area in the hotel which we made good use of. All-in-all we would recommend this as an ideal meeting point and a good value stay. If you are troubled by road noise ask for a room on the non-M1 side and make sure you arrive in time to get one.

I stay here quite a lot due to my work , there are plenty of Hotels around but this fits my needs perfectly and why i dont look anywhere else, for me its home from home , location is perfect, M1 close by, bus routes into Nottingham just 5 mins walk away, local amenities The Reception staff are very helpful and friendly The Housekeeping are excellent and helpful The staff are a credit to the Hotel The Rooms are clean , spacious and the Bed is most comfortable and free internet and good sized TV

Great hotel that is undergoing update. Yes the floors are creaky but that's to be expected. Rooms good size, clean and comfy with tea and coffee facilities. Bar great place with friendly staff. Stayed here 3 times this year tried a 4th visit but price went up too much so chose elsewhere, shame really as really like the hotel.

I booked this hotel for my husbands 30th birthday on the 29th of October. The hotel room its self was fine, clean and comfortable. The only problem With our booking was the noise!. During the evening there were people walking up and down the corridors shouting and knocking on one another's doors this went on for over an hour but then finally quietened down. We thought that was the end of it until early hours of the morning we were woken by the same group of people right outside our door again shouting, swearing and banging doors!. As you can imagine we didn't get much sleep. This made our stay rather unpleasant . On checking out of the hotel we were not asked how our stay was, I handed in our room card and was told by the receptionist all was ok, thank you and bye! Very Disappointed that staff aren't checking internal CCTV to monitor the corridors at night for this sort or behavior.

The hotel was nearly full and the breakfast staff were very busy we did not get down until the after 8.30. The restaurant was relaxed and tables cleared efficiently. The buffet was well presented and the hot breakfast was delicious and cooked to both my and my partners taste. The staff were pleasant and could not do enough for their customers. We really enjoyed our breakfast and the stay in this hotel we will use it again if we visit this area again. Well done and thanks for a lovely send off for our 200 mile journey.

This was an excelent one night stop over, good food at the venue adjacent, comfortable bed. But we were surprised to discover there is no lift. My husband didnt notice this when he booked. Luckily we were on the first floor, but it is an awkard handling exercise with lugage.

Hotel very convenient to M! and visits to Nottingham or Derby. Bedrooms clean and spacious. Plenty of free parking. Restaurant a few steps away from reception is a varied menu Grill Bar. this is also where you are served breakfast. This is a great buffet breakfast where you can have as much or as little as you like, The staff are extremely helpful and will cook for special diets. Good hotel and will return again.

Have continued to stop at this hotel as ideal for a stopover on business. Rooms are are always spotlessly clean. Comfy beds powerful shower and good Internet. Food is across in the restaurant is always good and so is the breakfast. Staff always friendly and professional Ticks all the boxes for a stopover and extremely close to the motorway.

We stayed here before our flight out of East Midlands. Booked through Holiday Extras with parking so got a great deal. I'd booked a family room and a double for my parents. I phoned the hotel the day before to ask for a ground floor room as my mum has mobility problems and there is no lift. Our family room was lovely and spacious, clean and comfortable beds. We ate at the restaurant on the night, we all had burgers & fries and it was very nice and reasonably priced. We pre booked breakfast so £8.55 each and the kids were free. This was fine with a good selection but kept having to wait for the hot food to be replenished but we still enjoyed it. Overhaul it was a good stay and would stay again.

Great no-frills place as a base for a short break. Dog friendly so ideal for us. Large modern en suite rooms with enormous comfortable beds. Although right by the side of the M1 the traffic couldn't be heard at all. Only negative was the room was too hot and I couldn't turn the temperature down. I asked reception to turn the heat down for the second night which they did but but morning it was back up to 24 degrees. Great value for money.

Excellent location for flights from East Midlands airport. Our accommodation was booked as part of our jetparks2 parking. Only cost £79 for 1 night including 2 weeks parking. Hotel was clean and rooms were comfortable. It is next to the M1 so you should expect a little bit of road noise if you sleep with the window open. We slept with the window open and it wasn't any bother at all. We arrived late evening, so can not comment on the catering next door and we left at 5am so can't comment on breakfast either. Short journey to the airport which has jetpark parking right next door.

Very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Room large and comfortable and although the room was next to M1 I was not disturbed by road noise. Food in restaurant was good and very reasonably priced with a varied menu. All staff we met were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

We were attending a function a couple of miles away so decided to stay here for the night as the price was reasonable. Our room was clean and had an iron and ironing board which was good. Luckily our room wasn't on the front so we didn't have to put up with the motorway noise. Breakfast was much better than expected, it wasn't a bit greasy and the bacon was lovely, when items ran out they were replaced relatively quickly. Whilst I wouldn't want to stay to long,for a few nights it's a good option.

Needed a cheap place to stay for one night whilst on business in the area. This is well located for the M1, so close indeed that from the car park you are almost on the hard shoulder! That doesn't matter though as the rooms are well insulated from the sound. Check in was speedy and my room was large and comfortable (room 210), clean and warm. Breakfast and dinner can be purchased separately and are taken across the way in a separate building. My evening meal was very good, decent portions, hot and tasty. All you can ask for really. As a no frills basic hotel this is pretty good. Will stay again when in the area.

I can only say how well all the hotel staff looked after us over the weekend. Everywhere was spotless. The staff were always very polite and helpful and the food was excellent. The bed was really comfortable and the room well equipped and nicely decorated. I would have given 5 stars if the towels had been soft and fluffy ... but they were clean!

Just what you want after 300 mile, on the road, really lovely reception staff, nice clean room the next door restaurant had a good cooked to order menu not the boil in a bag stuff we seem to settle for at roadside inns theses days. The fire exit to the car park would have made a more covenant entrance to the hotel with your baggage in toe instead of having to go all the way back round to the front that aside lovely stay.

Good size room very clean ,friendly staff and very quiet location even next to two main roads . Only bad thing was a funny smell from the sink and didnt drain properly .good sized tv and free wifi in all rooms . Would definitely recommend.

Good for location as close proximity to the motorway and only a few minutes in to the local town area. Being close to the motorway did not bother us at all and our room faced the motorway. We were not disturbed by traffic sounds at all. No lift and we were on the 3rd floor. This is ok but not with 6 suitcases! Room was ok but the bathroom area was very shabby especially the sink. Overall in the hotel and restaurant the floors really really need some attention. The carpeted areas have stains and the hard floor surfaces of the eating areas very sticky possibly from a build up of dirt and cleaning agents. Really could do with a good old floor scrubbing/stripping. Really bad. Then the cloth being used to wipe the tables looked dirty, wondered about the frequency of change or cleaning. The crockery and cutlery had stains.

We frequently use this hotel when visiting relatives close by. the rooms are spacious and comfortable and if you pay the extra then you are treated to separate bath and power shower. Room 301 is our favourite for this. Some of the rooms on the motorway side can have traffic noise and the corner rooms are worse for this so always ask for a quiet room. Breakfast is good and plentyful and the staff are pleasant and helpful.

Quick one night stop over..... Plus... Price was good. Clean. Tidy. Secure. Comfy bed. Cant hear the M1, Fast check in and out. Brilliant... Negative... Internal noises , can hear people walking around rooms above, room doors heavy and slam shut. All in all very pleasant stay will definitely use again...

Prior to staying I checked out reports on Trip Advisor however my experience makes me wonder if I stayed in same property. Receptionist showed little interest in my arrival. External temperature was 22c on arrival - entry to room resembled a sauna as room temp was set at 24 with windows closed. Despite adjusting room temp & opening windows room never cooled down during stay. Evening meal was very poor - Wild Mushrooms on Ciabatta were not wild & sauce was over powering. Salmon Tagliatelle had little salmon, pasta was over cooked and would suggest it was same sauce as starter. The breakfast buffet was poor quality with only jam available - NO marmalade. The bed mattress was well past sell by date thus extremely uncomfortable but the ultimate disgrace was the toilet bowl which was INGRAINED with dirt - and NOT just 1 day's dirt !!! Pouring Toilet Duck down the pan does NOT clean but rather it adheres itself to dirt - in this case it was ringed round the waterline and into the run-off Over the years have stayed in many Best Western properties and appreciate the fact they are all privately operated but my experience in this establishment was an eye opener as to how poor its management is in spot checking what is happening on a regular basis.

The location just off the M1 was perfect for our one night stop. The room was on the ground floor,spacious with a large comfortable bed. Generally clean although some brown markings in the base of the bath and old coffee rings on the desk. Motorway noise could be heard but not unbearable. Quick service at reception but didn't use any other facilities as this was a flying visit. We heard good reports about 'The Grill' restaurant opposite but no time for us to check it out. The secure car park is gated. Full on a Wednesday night - popular with people travelling. There is no bar on site but drinks are available from reception although expensive. Price of rooms are good. £56 for standard double. We checked out very early so didn't sample the breakfast,it did seem a little expensive at £8.95, more if not pre-booked. No complaints about this hotel as it served it's purpose.

Booked a package here with parking before our holiday flight from E Midlands airport. Rooms are clean and reasonably modern but the road noise from outside was terrible so we had a really poor nights sleep. The hotel is in between the M1 and a busy local road so quiet it aint ! Another annoyance was that all the light switches, or all of them that actually worked, were located just inside the door. So when we needed to get up for the loo, we had to stumble around in the dark to find the switch and then have the annoying extractor fan buzzing away for ages. As if the road noise wasn't enough ! Nice big shower enclosure with a seat and a good shower too. Didn't eat here because it didn't seem to be too popular with reviewers on TA. A deal with parking is good v for m but ask for a quiet room or you'll regret it !

Stayed there as needed a place near Nottingham. Had a third floor room which was tired with velux type windows. Road noise from M1 was horrific and disturbed sleep all night. Also basin did not drain. When complained at checkout and asked why given a noisy room when checking in the person was not interested, their English was rudimentary so perhaps they did not understand the point I was making. Restaurant staff nice and breakfast ok but ordinary. Will never stay there again, really impaired my impression of this average chain of hotels.

On a long road trip weekend for me and my friends, we had come to Nottingham to visit Warhammer World and some friends. We needed somewhere to stop over the night because of our plans and since we were going a few places that weekend we needed somewhere cheap. Since we had a car, this hotel was pretty good for us as it didn't have centre prices and took us about 15-20 minutes to drive into the centre given traffic. We arrived pretty late as we had a full day out and we were served at reception very quickly. Lobby looked nice but other than that we didn't use anything else in the hotel apart from the bar and grill which is a thirty second walk out of the hotel. The rooms were nice and big, had everything we needed for a nights sleep and to get ready the next morning. Beds, pillow and quilt were extremely comfortable. The room was clean and tidy. Our only complaint was that the heating didn't work in one of the rooms and we were pretty cold in the middle of the night. Car park felt very secure and had plenty of space.

Lovely people at the reception day and night makes you so very welcome . Octavian is one of the stars of the hotel hard working man and always with a smile. Highly recommended, clean tidy and plenty parking spaces

We stayed here on the 27th September, actually we should have been there on the 28th but I booked the wrong date my bad. However the receptionist changed my booking without a blink, I am so grateful as I had booked as hotel and fly and my flight was early morning, and it is always stressful but all was good thanks so much.

We stayed here as had early flight from East Midlands airport. Check in was ver smooth and efficient. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a quality comfortable bed. The shower was excellent, plenty of hot water. The secondary glazing was excellent at keeping the noise from the busy road out, couldn't hear a thing. Would stay again.

Sayed at BW Long Eaton as we were exhibiting at Castle Donnington. Very good location for the motorway and easy access to to local towns. I went for a good run in the morning following the canal path up to Sandiacre which was very nice indeed. Breakfast was good hosted in the Bar and Grill adjacent to the Hotel.

A comfortable hotel with lovely staff and a good restaurant. Being next to the motorway it may be noisy on that side of the hotel but as we were not it would be unfair to judge. I would stay again if the opportunity arose.

Great hotel,the rooms were comfy and nice decor. No air conditioning but hotel did provide a fan which was much apprieciated. Staff friendly and helpful, pleanty of choice at breakfast. will definatly be back.

Went there as a surprise stay for my wife before flying to Prague the next day, and it was great, we was given an upgrade in room as we are Best Western Platinum card holders, we then had a lovely meal at there Restaurant linked to the hotel, and we had a lovely Breakfast there the next morning not to far to go to the Airport the next day so overall a good night

Booked to stay here for two nights from 9/9 to 11/9 with my wife. Arrived late on Friday night and checked in with no problem. Got to room and it turned out it was the room for guests with wheelchairs which was not a problem and meant a bigger room. Went for a shower and was very disappointed to find the shower head had mould all over it. Then went to bed and found the mattress was extremely soft and had a valley in it. Struggled to fall asleep as the noise from the traffic on the nearby M1 was constant and quite loud. Did manage to get a couple of hours sleep but was woken early by the traffic noise. My wife and I decided to ask to move rooms to hopefully get a quieter second night and a mattress that was more comfortable. When we got to reception at 9:30am, there was nobody there apart from two cleaning ladies who said that they couldn't do anything as they didn't know how the booking system worked. Decided to cut our losses and left the hotel after 1 night as we needed a good nights sleep.

Me and my wife stayed at the best western hotel in Derby room number 303. We stayed in the Executive room it was brilliant. Plenty of parking space and really good location just of junction 25. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the bad customer service. We checked in on the Friday 9th sept at 4pm. The lady working behind the desk wearing glasses was not very friendly. I asked her for extra towels, she turned around and told me to reuse the old ones. I advised her that I have already used them and left them on the bathroom floor, so I won't use dirty towels now. I then called her to ask to drop some off to our room, even that took 45 mins to arrive. I would go back to this hotel but I would advise the manager of this hotel to give there staff some training on customer service, rather than just sitting behind the desk playing with there mobile phones. Last but not least I am not whinging, but you don't get clean bed sheets in the morning. They leave the same ones on. We were there for 2 nights.

My friend and I shared a twin room for three nights getting the benefit of BWs Short Leisure break rate. The room was much as expected for this sort of hotel and was clean and reasonably well maintained. Though the hotel was a little nearer to the M1 than I expected the traffic noise was not excessive. We took the help yourself breakfast which had a good range. The cooked breakfast was tasty and just about hot enough. On the whole the hotel was value for money.

We stayed here before an Open Day at Nottingham Uni. The room was very nice, good quality and nice and clean. We had a twin which was nice and spacious. The receptionist was nice and friendly and check in was very smooth. Would happily stay here again ??

I have been staying here on and off for several years, and have always found all the staff both in reception and in the restaurant pleasant and very helpful. Good choice of food both at breakfast and dinner. Rooms are well maintained by housekeeping, plenty of free parking space. Location is good for both Nottingham and Derby and is situated just off the M1 at junction 25.l

We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a superior room which was incredibly spacious, very clean and more than adequate for our overnight stay before catching a flight at East Midlands Airport which is close by and easily accessed. Dinner was very good value. Our only negative comment would be that the room did not have air conditioning and definitely needed it!! Fan was supplied but did not conquer the unbelievable heat. As the hotel is located next to a main road it was pointless opening a window as the traffic noise was excessive. Having said that, we slept well on an extremely comfortable bed. The receptionist on duty was probably the most pleasant, informative and helpful we have ever encountered! Good HR Best Western- she definitely deserves a pay rise........

I spent the night here when away on business, it was very easy to book over the phone and affordable, the bedroom was nice and clean. The restaurant was well priced and the food was very nice. Breakfast had a good selection and was very nice, proper coffee machine was good.

Another over night stay while collecting and then returning my daughter from her summer holidays in August. Staff on the reception very helpful as always. Nice to see a few bits updated in the rooms too (TV / WiFi). Booked up again for collecting and returning her in December. See you soon

Entering the hotel, the lobby seems quite modern and welcoming. But the rooms can't quite keep up that standard. They are definitely of a decent size but otherwise very basic - especially the bathrooms. Shower and toilet were separated by a sliding door that did not even fully close and the sink was actually located within the bedroom. The double bed seemed huge at first but after noticing that it was actually two zip-and-link singles with quite an uncomfortable gap in the middle, it wasn't too enjoyable after all.

I stayed here with my 9 yr old daughter as we where attending a wedding locally. The room was plenty big enough, we had a double bed and a double bedsettee. Only had a shower but that was big inside with hot water. Large TV and very clean.

We stayed here for 3 nights for a sporting competition. The hotel was clean and comfortable but as you would expect for a 3* it was no frills. That was fine for us. We asked for a quiet room away from the motorway as we were pleasantly surprised that we heard no traffic noise at all in our room. The breakfast was good. One criticism ( and it could have been a really huge criticism!!!) was I had asked for a wake up call at 7 am and never had one...inspite of telling the person on reception each morning who assured us we would get a call next day. If we had overslept our lack of wake up call could have been disasterous because we would have been disqualified from our competition but thankfully we managed to wake up without the call. Be aware if you rely on this service......

Alas I'm loathe to share the secret of this hotel in case it becomes fully booked when I look in future. The Best Western is in a great location for Nottingham. We caught the Toton Road tram from the 5 minute drive away park and ride. Similarly it serves as a good base for heading to Trent Bridge. The beds are supremely comfortable. This time we stayed in a family room on the top floor and were pleased with the size of the room. It's very reasonably priced too and the greeting from reception has always been friendly. All the facilities as you'd hope for and even better to have more than two towels for two guests (which seems to be the theme at the moment for my stays): The Grill across the road was a good spot for a few drinks before heading back to the room. Please keep up the great work!

We stayed at this hotel which we booked through the Alton towers website. We booked a family room and a twin room both of which were clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, shower was plenty powerful enough, the room has an iron and a decent hairdryer, they also provide fans as their is no air con. It was extremely hot when we stayed so we opened the window the road is very noisy, but once you close the windows you can't hear a thing. The breakfast in the morning was nice, it consisted of nice Lincolnshire sausages, bacon, eggs, hash browns & Beans as well as fruit, yogurt, pastries & toast. All in all we where more than happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel for an Alton towers over night stay. We also had a meal on the way back to the hotel from Alton towers, at a pub called the mundy arms this is about a mile from the hotel and serves fantastic food & very reasonably priced ????

Stayed here August 2016 ,never again.Check in was functionary.Receptionist did not want to converse,just get your keys and go.Family room was large,comfortable beds and spotlessly clean.The bathroom was like something from the 70s.Toilet and wash hand basin separate.Shower a large yellow plastic enclave with a seat in.Needs updating .The noise from the M1 right outside kept everyone awake all night.The room was roasting hot reading a temp of 32c with no airconditioning.2 fans were provided to blow the roasting air further around the room.Window opened was like sleeping in a truck on the M1.This hotel is cheap,for a reason.Do not expect to sleep,do not expect staff to ask how everything was in the morning.Avoid especially if there is children in the group.Actually just avoid.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night on the 23rd August prior to a flight out of East Midlands airport on the 24th to sunny gran canaria. In general the rooms are clean and tidy and a good size family room adjoining restaurant is good as well. Only down side is the temperature in the rooms I can only describe it as condition training for the Mediterranean heat. At 1.30 in the morning the room temperature was still 31 degrees this with all the windows open and two fans on the go. We eventually took it in turns going to sit in the car to cool down. Not ideal preparation for our early flight the following day!!

We used this hotel to stop over on our return from holidays as we were flying back early hours of the morning into East Midlands Airport. Booking was made through Holiday Extras and formed part of a Jetparks parking package. We arrived at the hotel early hours of the morning ( around 2.30am) and were greeted by two lovely members of staff who were really chirpy and helpful. Everything we needed was provided and we were reassured by them if there was anything else we needed to just let them know. The room came as a nice surprise - it was lovely. The layout of the bedroom was great with the wash facilities including a massive shower cubicle with a power shower in it that I just didn't want to get out of. Breakfast was also rather special. Eggs were cooked fresh to order, breakfast buffet was just as I like it, quality food with plenty of variety and cooked well. Additionally the staff couldn't do enough to help and were extremely pleasant. Although fleeting, we were extremely impressed with our visit and felt that it was just what we needed on our return to the UK before we continued on our journey back to South Wales. I'd like to add - If this hotel isn't a Best Western flagship then it should be! The professionalism projected throughout the staff and the establishment was something to be very proud of... We will definately stay here again if we travel up your way. Thank you.

We booked a room only overnight stay with two weeks parking included with Jet Parks. Due to my husband working we didn't arrive until after 10.30pm, so didn't really see any of the facilities. The hotel doesn't have a lift but the lovely gentleman at reception carried my suitcase upstairs for me. Check in was quick and friendly, our room was very large, a little unusual as the sink was in the room, and the toilet and shower separate. The bed was comfy. The only downside was the noise from the road, and the previous occupants had set the alarm, which went off about an hour after I'd fallen asleep. Definitely check this hotel if you want an overnight stay and airport parking.

Meeting up with relatives for the day this hotel was just off the M1 and conveniently near where we were meeting. The room was pleasant and the bed comfortable with the usual tea/coffee making facilities, The on site restaurant provided a good breakfast and the evening menu looked varied, though we did not have an evening meal there. Our room was on the motorway side which some people may find a little too noisy, but it did not bother us. The ensuite bathroom had a shower but no bath, but as I prefer a shower it suited us. The staff were pleasant and we enjoyed our stay. we will certainly use this hotel again when we visit Nottingham.

Excellent hotel in every respect apart from the M1 noise. Suggest they invest in triple glazing. The food is excellent and the bar has a good range of draught beers. The staff are very helpful and the check in and check out is effortless. the only problem is the noise from the M1 which could be sorted with effective double/triple glazing. Very good location and very good access from motorway.

Had a great stay for 3 nights. Very friendly hotel. Room clean and comfortable. Fan supplied in room. No problem when extra pillows requested. Good location for Nottingham and Derby. Will definitely recommend. Grill at 25 was part of hotel. Food and service very good.

Booked for myself and partner to stay over nite as we were attending Splendour festive in Nottingham. Room OK, clean, tidy, big king size double bed, décor a little tired, tea and coffee making facilities, hair drier, iron; bed side clock , free onsite parking. bathroom consisted of a double shower, toilet and sink, quite roomy. Reception staff very helpful, Breakfast OK - but not replenished very quickly so sat waiting for hot food, also food area not kept clean after other guests had spilt juice, food ect. Over all would stay again as close to Motorway and fine as a place to sleep.

My nephew booked a room for a suprise party for my sister with all the family. The room looked really festive with a beautifully laid table. A lovely lady named Chris was in on the suprise and even went to the extremes of telling my sister that her usual table was booked. The food was lovely, the meal was a big success. The customer service, food and attention to detail which made us all feel special was second to none. I cannot thank this hotel enough for making a special day really exceptional. The portions were extremely generous and I must say really tasty. Many thanks to the team who catered for the day and a special thanks to Chris for staying until the end.

We often use this hotel when travelling to dog shows in the Midlands, because of its central location, ease of access and accommodating attitude to our four bassets - i.e. they don't charge extra like Travelodge do, which can double the price of the room! The rooms are comfortable (but noisy if you are on the M1 side) and well appointed for the price - shower is good. There's an ok restaurant, if you like burgers etc.

We were delighted to have been given inter-connecting rooms for a family stay. We had visited for a family wedding, so having an extra bathroom to get ready was really helpful. We were also at the back of the hotel so did not get any noise from the M1 which was also a bonus for a good night;s sleep. We have stayed at this hotel before as it is nearby to family and will do so again, should the need arise.

Cheap, cheerful, no frills. Was very impressed by the simple fact there was a fan ( in the two rooms) that we are occupying in this hotel. Very clean- I thought -....but I came back to my hotel, having sampled some of the wonderful food there is to offer in Nottingham...and there was a large black hair which hadn't been there before in the bath....slightly disconcerting as I have red hair! Slightly baffled by this, I searched my room, thinking that maybe housekeeping had been into view the room.... They hadn't! The mystery of the 'Thick Black Hair' continues! However, very helpful staff, great location and parking! So in all, not my usual glowing repartee or censure. Oh wait!!! Value for money!!! Go to The park place across the road- literally 30 secs across the road, same price, they offer breakfast at no extra cost and they have a gym!!! Win win

Have stayed here twice - once on my own for biz and once with the family. Rooms are tired but it's always clean and the beds are great and the showers run hot. Would recommend. It was 33 degrees last time which made it hard to sleep but the hotel kindly provided fans as they have no air con.

This hotel was situated quite close to where we was going,but I wouldn't go back here.The rooms were far to hot as they don't have any air conditioning only a small fan what was noisy as ever.WE didn't get much sleep as we was next to the motorway.As for the breakfast rock hard bacon and sausage only good thing was hash browns quite dissapointed I were.

Located right next to the M1 and if you're on the motorway side of the hotel on a hot day, you're probably not going to get a good night's sleep. Windows are triple glazed and does block out the noise quite well, but there's no a/c so on a hot day, you're at the mercy of a small table fan which did help. Room was large and had a massive TV fixed on the wall above the study table so lots of neck-craning and eye squinting to watch the news!. Shower was good and powerful. Wifi was vague. Kept having to re-connect when the phone or laptop went to sleep so a but annoying. Not very high speed, but good enough for emails and browsing and some videos. The Grill restaurant was OK, reasonably OK food, quite helpful staff. Breakfast was nothing to write home about but again, manageable.

not a bad hotel very close to the motorway make it easy to find. I was expected welcomed. Room quite large and fairly well appointed, but a teensy bit disappointed by the not very good tv (no reception) and very aged bathroom sink. Didn't use the restaurant (too tired to bother getting out of bed in time)

Good hotel right by M1. Rooms well soundproofed and good size. Value breakfast and nice range of choices. One odd thing - light for toilet and bathroom by main door so difficult not to wake others during the night...

No this hotel does NOT offer everything you need for a comfortable stay like the official description says. What you need for a comfortable stay when the room is 27 degrees centigrade is air con, not a small fan. How come Novotel down the road provide it for a similar price?

Had a pleasant stay at this hotel and a very good night sleep. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was a treat. The only issue I had was that I would hear conversations in the rooms opposite me. The doors also shut very loudly so wouldn't reccomend if you're a light sleeper!

Door key did not work and had to be re-set. Room was absolutely fine. Comfortable bed and great shower. Breakfast - very nice fruit salad, but cooked breakfast was only warm, partly due to faulty toaster only toasting one side, thereby taking twice as long, and a tray would have been useful to carry plate, toast, butter, and cup and saucer with tea or coffee into a completely different room, because the food room was set up for a wedding later in the day.

We spent four nights at this hotel and used it as a base to visit various places in the surrounding area; it is perfectly located for this. As other guests have found, the rooms are functional and clean but we found the bed soft and the room hot, (we were unable to regulate the temperature as there wasn't any aircon). Its close proximity to the motorway does mean there is a lot of traffic noise, I suggest earplugs or a room facing away from the motorway; I made good use of the former and slept soundly! We only had breakfast at the hotel and I found the choices limited but fans of a cooked breakfast should be quite happy with the food on offer. I would definitely stay here again as this hotel offers value for money, clean rooms, a good location and pleasant staff.

booked the hotel with Tesco vouchers, thinking we would take it as it comes. However we were pleasantly surprised. Very clean and tidy, rooms were a bit warm so we had to keep the window open, as the hotel is very close to the hotel we could hear the traffic all night. After saying that I would not let it put me off using the hotel again. The staff are very friendly, the hotel is clean and tidy, and the breakfast was nice and hot

After a long drive this place was a delighful stopover. Plenty of car parking space. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and comfortable with great shower and toiletries. Bed was large and comfortable. Did not get a chance to eat but menus looked good and reasonably priced. Woud definitely stop by again... No complaints....

A great hotel with easy access into Nottingham. Clean, comfortable rooms with very good staff. The restaurant is way above the standard of the usual budget hotels and the breakfast was excellent too.Have stayed here 4 times now and will definitely use it again. The beds are enormous. The only downside is that the noise from the motorway can wake you up early so ask for a room on the opposite side to the road. Lots of secure parking spaces.

My wife and I arrived here the other night after a tiring flight and drive. This was my first stay in a Best Western. Friendly and helpful receptionist greeted us and got us our room within a couple of minutes. Hotel has a welcoming atmosphere and is nicely decorated and clean. Upon entering the room, I was very pleased with the set up and what the room had to offer. Firstly, a very large comfortable bed with very comfy pillows. We slept very well. Lovely HD TV on the wall which gave us a Wi Fi connection instructions screen when we turned it on. It was great having a good and free Wi Fi connection here. Most other hotels always want extra for that service. Massive shower stall with a glass door and very good spray power from the nozzle. Some hotels just never get that right! Other hotels have a curtain in a bathtub that just ends up always wrapping itself around you. Another nice feature here is that the sink and mirror area is separate from bathroom and is part of the hotel room. I found this quite clever and helpful. No need to cram it all into a 1.3 metre square bathroom like at travelodge where you are leaning on the sink to be able to sit on the toilet! There was also an ironing board, iron and a safe in the room but we did not need to use those. Tea and coffee with a kettle was present, as is standard. Free secure parking in a gated car park. Some minor cosmetic issues here and there in the room but overall very happy with this experience. Would stay again. Side note: Would avoid The Grill restaurant opposite the hotel unless you want to pay very expensive prices.

A comfortable, clean and modern hotel ideally situated for a stop-over break. Location is very close to the motorway networks, East Midlands Airport, and well positioned for exploration of South Derbyshire. Helpful and friendly staff.

Hotel was lovely and clean just few minor issues towels had holes in ironing board cover seen better day . Rooms were very hot although fan was in room but noisy which affected sleep ! Great restaurants beside the hotel room number taking so could pay at the end . Breakfast was nice continental and fried food available all self service which personally I prefer . Hotel is on busy road but wasn't that bad . Staff excellent welcoming and friendly

Stayed one night during Download, which meant that it was super busy, but the staff did what they could to accommodate an earlier check in. The rooms were pretty basic, but I guess few people stay longer than a weekend so no-one really cares. It is pretty much on the hard shoulder of the M1, so it is VERY noisy. With the triple glazed windows it is quiet, but so freaking hot. It wasn't even a hot day, but it felt sub-tropical. Woke up feeling like a finalist in The National Sweating Championship and opened the window, to be reminded that the M1 doesn't really have a non-busy time. It also takes a while for the room to then cool down, and there isn't any air con. The grill opposite is reasonable and the food above average. I can live with the tired décor, but the heat/noise is atrocious.

We stayed here overnight with the deal stay and park. Great value and so convenient for East Midlands Airport. Our room was fine for our overnight stay lovely bathroom and was also requested a quiet room on arrival and was given this without any hesitation. We found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We sat in the lounge area and had a drink was nice and quiet and comfortable. We had breakfast the morning before we were due to fly off to Italy and was of very good quality and also the lady in charge was very friendly had a good chat with her. Would definitely come again. But I think we would do it the other way round after flight home and do on our journey home if we fly from East Midlands again.

This is an excellent hotel where the just about everything is very good. However the close proximity to the M1 means there is a lot of noise, which is very audible in the room. The food is superb and great value for money.

The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The shower was excellent. The whole room was of a high standard. The breakfast was good and the bar inviting. We stayed one night only but would certainly use other Best Western hotels.

Stayed here for one night in a Executive double room the room was really good value although be prepared for a lot of road noise! The staff were really friendly and efficenct although the hotel was let down by the breakfast. The whole breakfast experience was self service and the cooked breakfast was fairly cold. All in all an okay hotel with really good staff.

Paid a bit extra for an executive room, bit more space and was at the end of a corridor so fairly quiet inside. Next to motorway so noise to be expected. Room was decent, bit stingy on the soaps etc considering booked for 2 people. Toilet roll holder hanging off but not an issue as long as there's toilet roll. Hotel was clean and tidy, staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. Be aware there is no lift in this hotel, so if you feel you would need one normally, book a ground floor room. The evening meal at The Grill at 25 opposite was decent. Breakfast, again in Grill house, was standard fayre. I would use this hotel again if in the area.

We stayed here the night before flying from East Midlands. The room was far too hot and even reaching 30 degrees C according to the gauge on the wall. I asked at reception to move rooms but told they were fully booked and gave us an extra fan. We didn't get much sleep and had to be up early the next day. Even the corridors were hot, not sure if someone had left the heating on as that is how it felt. Wouldn't stay here again, would rather pay more for a good night sleep.

Modern hotel with 24 hour reception. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was adequate. Reasonably comfortable room with shower. Breakfast was bland and unexciting! Tasteless bran flakes and sachet decaf coffee. OK for a one night stopover. Frankly wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. Characterless. East Midlands airport about 10 -15 mins drive away. Very easy commute from hotel ( one junction on M1).

Well, we booked in on Thursday 9th June and out on Monday 13th June. Room 205. We were here for the duration of Download, and it's very mixed. Firstly, the room was hot, and we discovered there was no A/C, however there was a fan. But that fan was actually loose or something? The blade would knock on the caging, so we went to resolve it and ask for a new one, and a new one we got, problem free, excellent. The room itself, simply a desk, 2 big drawers, containing an iron and hair dryer. A top, third drawer which opens downwards also. To the right was a wooden top with a hanging rail above it, attatched to what I would call a shoe rack. The double bed was actually 2 single beds, zipped together, shower was huge with a seat, however the water tends to just trickle out on the nicest setting that doesn't blow you up against the walls. Nice toilet, 2 loo rolls, bin, hygiene bags, cool. Doors to bathrooms either slide or open, the sink is pretty big, with side spaces, it is situated outside of the shower room, complimented by the biggest mirror I have ever seen. The hand soap bars are actually incredible, best thing about my stay really. Tissues in a dispenser on sink, 2 bath towels, a hair towel (what I used it for anyway) And a hand towel on a holder. Kettle was just a basic hotel kettle, 4 milk pots, sugars, coffees, tea, earl grey, english breakfast tea and herbal. 2 glass tumblers, 2 mugs, 2 spoons, 2 napkins. TV was huge and really good quality. Basic chair under desk, the most comfy arm chair next to desk ever. Sheets were nice on the bed, duvet was amazing, pillows nice. 2 plug sockets by the bed, 2 under the desk, 2 under the TV. Radio/Alarm by the bed, bible, and a phone which you can use to call other rooms which was such a big part of our stay, extremely handy and generally fun for some reason? Curtains kept out every inch of light, was really good. Room was overall really clean. The sink did smell a bit rotten when you turn the tap on for the first time in a while, just let it wash through a bit and it was pleasent, soft water. Vending machine downstairs, 80p or £1.20 for cans, bottles or snacks such as chocolate or crisps. Bar behind the desk open 24/7. Parking was good, you need a code to get out, found at front desk. Staff were really understanding and helpful towards us at Donington, had shoe covers by the main door we were asked to wear unless you took your shoes off. I recommend Sergios Pizza/Kebabs to be delivered for your evening food, cheaper than The Grill and really really good takeaway, I don't eat takeaway almost ever but that was good we live on it around Download weekend. Staff at the desk, and who I think was head of house keeping, were extremely helpful and friendly. Tesco just 10minutes away. The drive was good to Donington, until Sunday when the M1&A453 was congested with a 4 hour wait to move literally a mile. Overall I say for £389 for 4 nights I feel it was just about fair, could have been lower but I was very comfy there. I would advise it especially for Download. 8/10 would go there for the hand soap again.

Hotel location was great. Used this hotel for Download festival, staff understanding of muddy festival goers. However, the room barely dipped below 28 degrees with 3 fans and all the windows open 24hrs a day, very loud with the windows open as the motorway is mere yards away from the hotel. Staff couldn't do anything regarding the heat, more should have been done to help combat this. The room was dirty round the edges, the sink in the room stunk of sewage, not pleasant brushing your teeth with that smell around. On first inspection it appeared the toilet had just been cleaned with blue fluid but in fact was stained with the fluid. Toilet roll poor quality too. Shower was grimy but was very large with a seat inside too, shame the shower head was gross with grime. Beds are comfortable but due to the heat it was very hard to get any sleep. Also issue with payment (paid online) on exit, not ideal when you are eager to leave. However this was resolved within 10 minutes.

Rooms are good clean and well laid out, We had a problem with bed for my son which was very quickly sorted we where upgraded very happy with restaurant the staff where friendly and welcoming and very nice to my young lad, Very good value for money some people moan for nothing ,

The hotel is very modern and the rooms are lovely. They are very spacious and are really well equipped, with a massive TV and a really comfy bed! The only downside is that if you're in an 'odd number' room you will be on the M1 side which can make it very noisy. The staff we saw were friendly and they were well educated on areas to eat and visit. I'm glad that the Best Western Hotel lived up to my expectation and I will definitely stay at their hotels in the future.

Apparently always full (businessmen, airport preflight clients, conferences) which does not encourage them to give good service and they don't give it. Reception take credit card / give key - no welcome, not even please / thank you. Room is basic and charmless. "Bathroom" is a plastic shower box + loo in a corner. Towels are grey and rough. No hairdryer. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Hence it is probably good for a one night necessity stay. Breakfast not taken.

We stayed here for one night.first impressions are that this hotel is unloved and very grey and grimes. It smelt stale the rooms lacked charm,the towels were rough the shower was pathetic and the windows were filthy . The breakfast was fairly good although the floor in the dining room was sticky and needed a good wash. If this is Best Western I dread to think what worst is like !, Certainly not a hotel we would hurry back to.

We stayed in the Deluxe suite for the weekend as we had plans to go in to Nottingham. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, the added breakfast was a buffet style full English and continental which was lovely and the wifi access was brilliant. The room was spacious, clean and stylish, the bathroom also had a twin bath. Although the hotel is closely situated to the M1 there is hardly any noise and the Toton Road tram stop is a 5 minute drive away park and ride which took us straight to the centre of Nottingham without the hassle of city parking! Couldn't be happier!

Stayed for 3 nights while visiting the area. Can't fault the hotel, only negative is traffic noise but the location is very good. (just off M1). Excellent to find hotel accepting our dog with good staff and breakfast/meals

We had to be in Nottingham to deliver something, so took the chance for few days, and visit some of local places of interest. Hotel is in an excellent location for motorway, and access to buses and park and ride for the tram.

Just back from a one night stay with my partner, on checking in we where dealt with promptly and politely. We had a room on the second floor the room was very spacious with modern decor and a hd flat screen tv, the bed/ pillows where very comfortable and the room was fully stocked with iron and board, tea coffee and complimentary water which was a nice touch.Regarding the noise from the M1 you can hear it but after a while you don't notice it and like myself I always have earplugs with me so no problem. I will use this hotel again and with a nice restaurant the Grill across the car park just makes it a nice stay.

Excellent food , staff so friendly and helpful a good standard hotel. Would definitely visit again. Good value for money . We would recommend to family , friends and any other organisation that needs to find good standard accommodation

The style of the hotel reminds me of Crossroads. The rooms, rstaurant and common areas are in need of a refurbishment. The major problem is my room was 30 yards from the M1, the double glazing is dated and the traffic noise resulted in a sleepless night.

Husband booked a park and stay package so we didn' t need to travel all the way to Scotland after our flight from Turkey. He booked it for the correct date but the expectation was that we would arrive at 2 in the afternoon not 2 in the morning. There was a lovely man behind the desk who went out of his way to help us. We were offered coffee while a room was sorted. The room was great. Unfortunately we were a bit tired to enjoy it. Thank you very much for finding us a place when it would have been easy to have said that it was not your problem.

We stayed here before flying from east midlands airport found the rooms very good and the reception very helpful. The beds were quite comfortable and not noisy although we backed onto the motorway the bathroom could have done with a little updating

Had a great weekend in Nottingham. Very pleasant staff, warm greeting when i arrived. Easy to get to, literally just off the M1. Drove into Nottingham City Centre which only took around 20 mins, also drove to near by park and ride in Toton Lane £4.00 all day ticket for the metro which takes you right into Nottingham. Room was reasonably sized, big tv, free wifi and usual amenities.Only down point that i could add, slightly noisy neighbours could be heard in corridor and room next door.

On arrival, check-in was swift and courteous and the room was well appointed, nice TV, free wireless connection and a very comfortable bed, There is a sink/vanity unit in the room with an adjacent WC and shower pod, all a bit unusual, however, everything worked well and the shower was nice and powerful. There is also an iron, ironing board and hair dryer along with tea & coffee, kettle etc. I went for breakfast at 0645, just as it opened and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and range of food. Everything was cooked well and there was a good choice of cooked and cold items available, add to this the coffee machine and good fruit juice, and it was a very agreeable way to start the day. If you book breakfast at reception the night prior it is around £2.00 cheaper. All in all, a good stay at a typical business style hotel just of the M1.

Noise from motorway was minimal; really good glazing similar to those at premier inn in Manchester airport. Noise mainly came from other rooms but didn't affect my stay Beds and pillows were comfy Room layout was very strange but no issues, shower was also strange but good Restaurant was a bit disappointing, evening meal from main restaurant was ok but the breakfast was quite poor. Typical British buffet offering Really easy to get to, right off the M1 so a really handy location.

Last minute booking to a BTCC event at Donington Park Racetrack, obviously all the hotels near the track and East Midlands airport were booked up so I took a punt with this one as it was cheap and only 20 minutes from the track....... ........and I'm very glad I did!! The room on first glance was a bit mismatched dark wood, light wood and purple decor mixed with old 80's ? sink area in the room but it worked well! The facilities were great in the room and the massive flat screen TV on the wall was so clear and sharp I think it was better than ours at home haha And the bed was the absolute best one I've slept in in a long time!!!! SO COMFY i had the best nights sleep. Would 100% recommended this hotel and would stay there again with no hesitation xx

Good value, very clean, friendly staff, good wifi. Restaurant staff very helpful and ready to get food if you are in late to breakfast. Excellent position on motorway for business users. Any problems immediately resolved even if arriving late at night.

Better than the Best Western next to East Midlands. Staff were excellent, nice restaurant, good bar, good beer, brilliant breakfast self service. On a visit to the water sports center at Nottingham Go there ! Good value !

Noisy room - the M1 is close by and the window is single glazed. Rooms a bit dated - restaurant (in building opposite) is ok but not outstanding - breakfast good though. As a convenient stop over for business I would use the best western again - at the price it's not bad

Service is very good. They also offer to help you with your bags. Rooms are very clean. I was to the back of the hotel so motorway noises won't to be heard much. Beds are very soft so if you like that then your ok but I had to sleep on the floor. They dont have a lift so if you have a baby in a car seat be prepared to carry the baby to the third floor. They should offer everyone with a baby the ground floor but make sure you ask them at check in.

Really good family room. Would also suit 4 adults. Tram park and ride 10 minutes down the road is really helpful to get the centre of Nottingham. Really close to M1 and easy to find. Breakfast is good although finishing at 9:30 in the week was a bit early for us. But even though we were the last knockings for breakfast there was still a good choice

I was attending a function in the area and this hotel was within a 10 minute stroll of the venue so I decided to give it a try. I was not in the least disappointed. Check in and check out were blissfully hassle free the room was clean and tidy and the shower a delight. Ample parking and an excellent restaurant on site added to the pleasurable experience.

My daughter was attending a Cheerleading event at the Capital FM Arena. We were travelling from the South and the hotel is visible from the M1 carriageway so incredibly easy to find and access. Despite the location the Motorway didn't bother us and we slept with the window open. Easy check in, the room was a great size and clean and comfortable which was all we needed after a long drive. We needed to get dinner, there is an adjoining restaurant but we didn't fancy anything off of the menu which reception had on display (turns out there was much more choice in the restaurant!) but reception pointed us in the direction of the local fish and chip bar. When we got there, there were no seats to use (as advised) so we took them back to the hotel and reception said we could use the lounge area to eat them. Really kind of them given that fish and chips can smell quite potent sometimes! We didn't stop for breakfast as we had an early start. Easy check out and a 20 minute car journey into Nottingham centre for the arena. Apparently there is a tram stop 2 minutes up the road from the hotel but we drove because of the time we left. This hotel is perfect for an easy stopover if you're travelling the M1!

attendet a family funeral in the area. The location was ideal,we got a cheap deal which was reflected in the room. Room 221, avoid it at any price. The food was basic but good and well presented. We will certainly consider using this hotel again in the future to visit family in the area, but will make sure that we get a better room.

A nice hotel, room was very comfy (great shower!) with a useful sofa / desk area and plenty of space. Considering the proximity to the dual carriage there is little noise from it. Breakfast (in the separate restaurant across the road) is good, too. Staff are friendly and helpful.

A great hotel in a very convenient location for access to local towns and East Midlands airport. With a restaurant in close proximity offering great quality and affordable prices that make this hotel even more attractive. A huge room which was clean and well presented, I would definitely stay here again for any East Midlands flight!!

There was an absolute sort working behind the reception when we arrived at 2:30, this weapon sorted my friends and I out with the perfect room and saved us money. she also told us where to visit and offering to book a cab for us. The rooms were perfect as we had an interlinking family room and clean through out. used the shower as a sauna and it was perfect.

We stayed for three nights, (Thur to Sat), with breakfast, in an "executive" double room for £200 - that's good value. Standard room would have been £165. Parking is free. The hotel is 8 miles from the centre of Nottingham, but easily accessed from the M1 or the A52. The location has lots of traffic noise, being only a few yards from the motorway, but the triple glazing (sealed units with additional secondary units) kept out most of the sound. Our room was quite large, with sofa and coffee table and a very comfortable bed. The main drawback of the room was the shower, which would not stay at the same temperature, changing every minute from scalding to lukewarm and vice versa. So, I needed to alter the control several times during each shower. It would also be good to have reading lamps by the bed. In order to read in bed it was necessary to use the spotlights above the bed, which would keep one's other half awake! However, the room was very pleasant and served its purpose well. Breakfasts were satisfactory - broadly what you would expect from a reasonably priced hotel. They were served up in the pub across the drive from the hotel, and everything was self-service. The food was all reasonable quality. All in all this was a satisfactory stay which didn't break the bank.
