Best Western Frontier Motel

The desk clerk was very courteous and provided suggestions for dining. Room was nicely redecorated, with large bathroom. Bed comfortable. Great views of the mountains from breakfast room. Breakfast had many options , with great coffee and hot entrées.

Roomy, clean room. Bathroom was large, clean, lots of towels. Hot breakfast consistently monitored an replenished, very clean. Front desk always staffed and very pleasant and helpful. The best hotel we've stayed in throughout tour of the national parks in this area. Only recommendation would be to heat the pool.

The staff was great, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was wonderful! The views of Mt. Whitney and the Alabama Hills was priceless! Pool was under renovation but we wouldn't have used it in March.

This hotel was perfect for our stop on the way to Death Valley. The rooms are large and clean with 2 sinks and a couch. Breakfast had lots of good options. A great value! Be sure to check out the Western Movie Museum and the Merry Go Round restaurant- best Chinese Food!

We always enjoy our stay here while visiting Lone Pine. They have a fantastic breakfast, and everyone is very helpful and friendly. We like the fact that we can bring our dog! Great views from our room (southern part of hotel, room 176) Highly recommend.

I frequently stay here for trips from, Nevada to California. Always clean, the staff is very nice and full breakfast. Also “pet” friendly. Although, there are no suitable dog poop areas. They even give you dog treats and poop bags.Ask for a room away from the highway.

The staff at this motel is great. Front desk, housekeepers and breakfast staff are very welcoming. The free breakfast is good. The rooms are very clean. But the King rooms are smaller than I expected after seeing the options on the motel website. And the bathroom door needs a hook on it to keep it closed. (they are sliding barn-style doors.) While the motel set up makes it very easy to unload the car, I realized I like more privacy than a motel allows. (That's a personal preference and no criticism of the motel.)

Excellent night sleep! Great bed, clean room. We were greeted with a big smile, extra bottled water; so nice after a long day of driving. The pool was being fixed so no dip. It was kinda chilly for that anyway. This motel is run by the original family since the 40s and the pride of ownership shows!

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very spacious. We were traveling with a dog and our room backed up to the dog area with a back door and patio that opened up to the dog area. If you are traveling with a dog I recommend that you request one of the rooms that opens to the dog area.

The room and property was very clean. We had a problem woth our tub draining but it was fixed right away. Our room was not cleaned and bed was not made during our stay unfortunately. Hot breakfasr in the morning. Close to everything. The view was amazing and staff were lovely.

Staff are friendly. I slept well. Usually I toss and turn more at other hotels. Connection to internet was good but would like a secure connection. Cleanliness is good. Quality and pricing is unique for a good experience.

Although this is an older facility it was in good condition and the rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful in finding local restaurants and activities. We would definitely stay here again when traveling in Lone Pine.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We waited in line a short time at check in. Vance checked us in. He was alone at the desk but he was amazingly nice and patient to every single person he spoke with. The location is on the outskirts which suited us fine. The property is quiet and well maintained. The pillows are way too small for a king size bed.

We decided to make our drive in two days and stopped in Lone Pine. Stayed at Best Western. Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy parking, hot breakfast. We will stay again. We also ate at The Grill close to hotel - delicious food and desserts We made a return visit in way home.

I have stayed here often and in other hotels in the Lone Pine area, and Best Western is the best. The rooms are fine, the breakfast good and the location is perfect for my visits to the Alabama Hills and Whitney Portal.

Great hotel on the 395! The rooms are immaculately clean and smell great as you walk through the door. Comfortable beds, and they have a separate air conditioner/heater in the bathroom which my kids really appreciated after taking a shower. Our room had a sink in the bathroom and vanity which really helped us get out the door faster. Nice hot breakfast with other options like pastries, yogurt, cereal etc, the whole family was pleased. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back here on our travels down the 395!

We love the Best Western in Lone Pine and always make it a pit stop when traveling through. The rooms are always super clean!!! and comfortable (and the heat is always on before we arrive in the winter) thank you! Arrive at night and walk out your room in the morning… and take in the amazing Easter Sierras in all their glory. Lone Pine is a special place and the Best Western is the perfect base camp. Motorhome broke down and we had to find a pet friendly hotel on our way home. Our experience was so good that we ended up staying another night. Every single staff member from Leigh & Miley at the front desk to the housekeeping & breakfast restaurant staff were very friendly, helpful & did an excellent job. Leigh was so accommodating finding us a room for the additional night as well. Rooms were nice, clean & with a clear view of gorgeous Mt Whitney! Complimentary full breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend for your Lone Pine stop on the 395.

Check in was fast, room was clean and everyone was nice. My kids enjoyed the breakfast especially the automatic pancake maker. They thought that was amazing! The two women running the buffet were both very friendly and professional. Would probably stay there again if we return in the summer to do some hiking.

the hotel offers a very large room good for a family with kids. just ask for the upgraded room. The breakfast was hot with eggs and cereal. my climbing group stayed their after a few days in the mountains.

Our favorite place to stay when traveling between Nevada and Arizona. Nice friendly staff. Clean comfortable rooms and beds. Very nice breakfast amenities. And you can't beat looking at the mountains in the morning or in the early evening.

The worst experience my wife and I have ever had staying at a motel. (Best? Western) at Lone Pine, California). We were lied to and hung up on several times by the evening manager. Then the manager would not answer the phone to discuss his behavior. The manager blamed his behavior on the guests next to us. Unbelievable!!! So, he felt justified in treating us very poorly. We will never stay at this motel ever again, out of principle. Dr. Ray

What a little gem! We booked this as a stopover point on the way from Las Vegas to Yosemite and never thought it would be one of the best (of 8) places we stayed in. It was a novelty for us to drive in and park outside the room, the motel has so much character, the check in staff were very efficient, views from the front of the motel just breath-taking, breakfast really welcomed and onsite washer dryer was great for us. There was also a small pool but we didn't make use of that as we were only staying 1nt. We went down to the village for a lovely meal that evening and visited the Movie Museum on our way out the next day, highly recommend going there, some great movie props.

No complaints about the facility or employees. LADWP trucks and their back up beepers at 4:30am right outside my window I feel might be a common occurrence. They should require any service trucks to park on the street.

Clean and comfortable as always when we've stopped at this Lone Pine motel. Since we never know how long it will take us to get to our stop for the night, I brought a Jersey Mike's sub in the cooler for dinner. I didn't know that a Jersey Mike's has opened almost right across the road from the motel! The outdoor tables among their rose bushes are so fun to sit at nearing dusk and have a good supper. The front desk was efficient, and breakfast was very good with a hot meal to start the day.

This hotel is by far the best hotel I've stayed at ever, from check in to check out. My experience was awesome. The rooms were Immaculate and the staff was very knowledgeable of the local area as well as taking care of all needs. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in and the bathroom was by far the best! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Lone Pine area, the general manager Alicia made sure everything was taken care of, she goes alive and beyond to ensure the hotel runs smoothly and all of her visitors have the best experience possible. This is a great stopover - we were on our way from Death Valley to Yosemite. The room was dated and not as clean as it could be (I had a shower and my feet were filthy by the time I walked back to the bed). The breakfast was odd - we definitely don't have chilli, tortillla, tater tots and cheese for breakfast in the UK. No fresh fruit to make yoghurt/granola so I had two small muffins. Vance on the front desk was really friendly on check in. Overall it's not the worst motel but the breakfast and cleanliness let it down.

Everything was great, the AC was a little noisy, but I'll take that over hundred degree weather any day. Breakfast was good, bed was comfortable and pillows were soft. The western museum is down the street couple minutes away and is well worth the time to visit.

Best Western Lone Pine has a superb breakfast. Unlike some motels, the breakfast area was fully stocked and well organized. The rooms were quiet and each room had an assigned parking place, so you didn't have to look all over to unload your car. The air conditioner worked well, and the bed was comfortable.

Solo traveler, room size good for me. Bed and linens very comfortable. Large clean bathroom with shower supplies. Cool AC. Pool clean. Outdoor grassy seating area. Dogs allowed for minimal fee. Breakfast variety good but some things dried out. Old drive up style motel with marked parking near room! Room clean. Good sound proofing, never heard next room guests. Would definitely stay here again.

My daughter and I stayed 2 nights in a large, 2 queen bed room. Everything was excellent from the clean rooms, comfortable beds, free breakfast, and super friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is a perfect location to explore not only the Lone Pine area but up to Mammoth Lakes and Mountain as well, only 1.5 hrs away. Will definitely return.

We stayed for two nights, had a very comfortable stay. Location is good, very easy to get to Whitney portal and Alabama Hills and close enough to eating places. The room was very clean so was the bathroom. The airconditioning worked great which was very important since it was particularly hot. The staff at the reception were very friendly and always greeted us if we passed by. Check in was smooth and efficient. And most importantly they provide daily room cleaning service like the pre-covid days.

This was a very nice and small hotel, all on 1 floor with parking in front of your room. Hotel staff were freindly and helpfull while checking in. Was just a stop over on our way back to home, but wished we more time to stay longer.

This stay was great, it's good to go back to your home town and see familiar faces. Margarita was amazing as always and got to meet the new owner. Glad to see the property is doing great and it has definitely got some really nice new upgrades.

One of the best BW's I've stayed in. The staff is efficient, very caring and attentive. Great breakfast. Very clean. Rooms good sized, fairly modern (USB-C plug!). Internet is fast for the area. Highly recommend.

Tried to check in an hour early. Was told the room was clean and ready. Then told there was a $25 early check in fee. I understand if I'm asking you to get it ready hours early but to be told I'd have to pay extra to check into a room that's already clean and ready is ridiculous.

I was wonderfully surprised at the quality of my stay. The room was spacious, very clean and quiet. The assigned parking was located directly across from my room. The pet policy is easy to understand and more than accommodating. And the team members I spoke with were friendly and helpful. Additionally, as a single woman traveling alone, I felt very safe. I will definitely be staying here again.

Perfect location if you are going to the national parks nearby. It has nice view of Mt. Whitney and a 10 drive to explore the mountains yet close enough to dinning in town. Will stay again when going to the area.

For the price, where else do you get the view of the beautiful sierras, a nice warm, comfy, clean bed, in a quiet room. Strongly recommend staying. Breakfast is not for me but kids and not picky eaters will enjoy.

Rooms were large, breakfast was great and very friendly staff. Just off highway 395. It is a bit outside of lone pine so keep that in mind. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who is in the lone pine area.

was dispatched for work at a very late hour with a need to stay in the area overnight. hotel staff was freendly and helpful room was clean water was hot. The morning breafest was hot but not to hot to eat. the cold food was cold but not frozen. area was clean food items were easy to get. area is smaller town so rooms were quite. Most people i hotel were contractors for the construction in the area.

Best Western is making an effort to provide a better experience and it shows. The free breakfast is good and well serviced by their friendly staff. The room is well appointed, clean and very comfortable.

Great scenic location on the south end of Lone Pine, CA. Front desk clerks Vance and Deborah are friendly, helpful and professional. This family owned motel is clean as whistle and very well appointed. Room amenities include mini fridge, microwave, 32 inch TV with DIRECT TV Network, direct USB plugins, comfortable bed and a spectacular bathroom with built in bodywash, shampoo and conditioner pumps (very pleasant coconut fragrance). They also use short "do not disturb" tags that don't blow or fall of the door handles! Motel has a very nice heated outdoor pool, individual assigned parking spots by your room and an INCREDIBLE include daily buffet breakfast. The breakfast room is loaded with Western Movie memorabilia too! I couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay. Very Reasonably priced too. As close to perfection as I've ever seen in a budget friendly accommodation. I highly recommend staying here when in the Lone Pine area. I definitely would stay here again. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

I visit regularly. Am always so pleased with the warm welcome of the front desk staff. I feel right at home and appreciate the stress free check in process. Margarita, Leigh, and a newer staff member, male, regret I don't recall his name. Great job .

We stay at this hotel every year over Thanksgiving and have never been disappointed in any way. The rooms are clean, breakfast is good and the staff is very caring. We can't say enough good about this hotel, that's how much we like it.

Great location at the foot of Mt. Whitney. Hotel is well kept, but somewhat dated. Since our stay was late season, the swimming was already closed, so the kids were bummed. Nice breakfast, great variety and the two ladies in the breakfast room were really nice and helpful. Pet friendly.

I stayed here a number of times at the Best Western Olympia. The beds are super comfortable and very nice. My only issue this time was the drain in the bathtub was slow, and the heater made some noise until like banged around on it and not at the stop. Other than that to stay was great The free breakfast is great The people were great.

Quiet and restful, Great place to stay if working in the area! Breakfast was plentiful and very good for my entire 4 day stay! Absolutely gorgeous view of the Eastern Sierras, especially at sunrise. If you are an early riser, this is the place to stay.

The hotel is located just south of the town of Lone Pine along the highway. However the room was VERY quiet and we did not hear any traffic noise. The room was very nicely decorated and clean. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and courteous. The breakfast area was well stocked and the counters and tables were kept clean. There is a pool and lawn area but it was too chilly outside for us to take advantage of them. There is a spectacular view of Mt. Whitney from the hotel! We will definitely stay here when we are in the area again.

Very nice place in an area of few choices. Older but very well kept up. What sets it appart is the breakfast they serve. Better than anywhere we stayed on our three week triip. Parking is assigned so you park in front of your room. There is parking in the back for larger vehicles and trailers.

Conveniently located on the main street of Lone Pine close to Big Pine lakes trails, Whitney Portal and fishing, this hotel exceeded expectations. The room was spacious, clean and had nice shower soap and shampoos. The breakfast buffet was delicious and very filling to fuel us up for a long hike. There is also coffee in the room if you can't wait for breakfast.

A spacious and comfortable room (huge bathtub!) and very pleasant staff. Will stay here again if we come back! Breakfast is handy but the quality is wanting--not enough to keep us away though. 4.5 stars! Just filling space to reach 200 characters now. :)

This was the cutest and nicest Best Western my whole trip. It looks like a retro motor inn with pool, nice landscaping with flowers, clean room, comfy bed , and pet friendly. I loved the designated parking with room number so I always had my same spot. Hotel employees were friendly and checkin easy. Breakfast was the best featuring pancakes, meat protein, eggs, and tator tots. Of course fruit, cereals etc. for lighter fare. There was a notice that they would pack you a quick to- go breakfast if needed.

Small Classic Car Group travel every spring and fall. This was one of our best hotels. So clean and we had every thing we needed. Pool area was very nice and cleaned every morning. Plenty of ice. View from hotel grounds also quite nice. (Except I did miss the Bible not being in the room. )

The first of three Best Western Motels we used throughout our 3 week road trip around California. Does all the basics well and you can easily make your nightly rate work for you by going big on the buffet breakfast and skipping lunch. Room has everything you need, beds are comfortable and the gigantic bath is welcomed after a day of hiking. We were using this area as a base for Death Valley exploring but as 190 was washed out due to the floods, we asked the hotel team for recommendations on other things to do. They knew their area. Manzanar is fascinating, the Alabama hills are reminiscent of Utah NP's (a good thing) and the views on the road to Mount Whitney are worth the short drive. A nice touch is that the rooms are named after the Wild Western movie stars.

Booked a 2 Queens room, nice and roomy, very comfortable beds. Hotel staff were outstanding - very attentive. Love the available texting before/during/after our hotel stay to assist with any/all needs or questions. Hot breakfast varied daily - large selection of options including the cute pancake maker that made yummy pancakes with sugar free syrup available - just need some pancake toppings like chocolate chips, bananas, etc. Location past the small downtown strip area, extremely convenient. Small fridge, small microwave in toom. TV with tons of free channel options. Loved the bottle opener next to the ice bucket ☺️. Loved the restaurant suggestions - The Grill was out favorite. Available washer/dryer with soap and dryer sheets -all available at decent price. Safe, quiet, comfortable with good rates. Would definitely stay here again!

This hotel has many rooms, all on the ground floor, with a wonderful view of the Sierra Nevadas. Very quiet, since it is at the edge of town. The AC worked well, and we really loved the shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers in the shower - I'm sure that saves so much extra plastic from going to the landfill...that is a great idea!

Not a fancy hotel but clean and comfortable. It is well maintained. Staff is always very helpful. Breakfast is included and it has a nice selection. It is also pet friendly! Good view of Mt. Whitney and nice sunsets. Not too far from the main st. of town where restaurants are located.

On the first night of my stay, Sunday, September 11, I was woken up at midnight by the front desk associate pounding on my door, yelling at me to open it. She claimed I was in the wrong room and had no right to be there, demanding to know how I had gotten in. I had been checked in earlier that day with no issue, and had the keys to show for it. She left, and I called the front desk minutes later, once I had gotten myself together, and she explained that the front desk person at check-in had marked me in 112 but put me in 117. She did not apologize or express remorse in any way, despite waking me, yelling at me, and blaming me for a mistake that the hotel had (innocently) made. She should not be working in hospitality or representing Best Western, which I have always had great experiences with. The rest of the staff was lovely and helpful and the rest of my stay was fine.

I was expecting a very basic, old fashioned motel. The Lone Pine Best Western was so much better than I had hoped. At first impression, the building and grounds were clean and well maintained. The staff was warm and friendly. Our room had all the little details that made our stay comfortable and convenient. The bathroom was huge. The bed was comfortable and the bedside light had plugs where I could charge my devices. Finally, the breakfast was one I would have been happy with in a hotel that cost twice as much. They had fresh mango and pancakes you could easily make from scratch.

Stayed again at the Frontier Motel last night.....wonderful! Caught some trout in June Lake and Twin Lakes and needed to keep them frozen for the drive home....no problems. Deborah and Margarita had them in the freezer quicker than quick and the trout remained frozen this morning when we went to get them from the freezer. The most amazing beds (not exaggerating), best air conditioning, large screen tv's in the large, clean rooms, satisfying breakfasts, and helpful staff like Deborah and Margarita plus amazing views of the Eastern Sierra and Mt Whitney....this motel has it all. See you next time!

This Best Western is definitely a cut above the average motel. Spacious rooms, helpful staff, and comfortable beds. This was our before after Mt Whitney climb place to relax and recharge. It was perfect.

Full breakfast is served at 6am which was what we needed before we started our hike up Mt. Whitney. slept well, good sized room. It was a hot weekend and the AC worked well. friendly and helpful staff.

This is my first trip to Lone Pine to hike Mt. Whitney. I know that I wanted to sleep well before and after my hike. The BW perfectly meets my needs. They offer a wonderful breakfast each morning with real breakfast food like eggs and bacon. The staffs are super friendly and willing to help. The location is easy to find and assigned parking. Lastly, the rooms are super clean and functional (not fancy, but does its job)

On a hot day, went on a quick errand and my 10lbs dog was in the room. Called up the front desk and asked them to turn on the air conditioning and they did. Came back and the room was nice and comfortable. This place is wonderful.

Only stayed one night but the thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet, Staff was courteous and helpful with restaurant information during check-in. Each parking stall is assigned to a specific room so the car was adjacent to the room. Breakfast had a nice variety with real flatware - not the usual plastic. View of Lone Pine Peak and Mt. Whitney from the parking lot. Enjoyed coffee in the outdoor area adjacent to the pool.

We have stayed at this motel many times. It is in a great location, the rooms are very nice and the amenities are great. The breakfast has a great variety. We highly recommend this motel and will be staying here again.

We via tot this motel in de laat 25 years about 5 times. We expect the motel become older and older. But no. Good maintenance makes it look lijke 20 years ago. The pool is great. The service is top…..

This motel had a superb breakfast. All food was well prepared and laid out, and the kitchen did not run out of certain things like orange juice, milk, eggs, sausage, etc. like other motels i have stayed at recently. This is one of the few motels still offering a deluxe breakfast. The room was spacious and immaculate, and the air conditioner worked well. Each room had an assigned parking place, which is rare among motels, but this enabled me to park right in front of my room. There was no noise from adjoining rooms, so I slept well.

When I arrived 20 minutes before the check-in time (at 3pm, if I remember well) they wanted to charge me $35 for early check-in. :-) I was wondering if it was a joke... but not. I got the last room near the street and I can tell you that the night was really not quite because of the trucks passing and the air conditioning that was really loud. This is the room they call "with the best view" on the alabama hills. Avoid this one! Breakfast is included but honestly really too basic, maybe because I am European and I expect to have more choice.

My cousin Tom and I stayed at the Best Western Frontier Motel in Lone Pine, California, July 22-29, 2022, and it was our third stay at the motel since 2017. We have traveled to Lone Pine each time to climb Mount Whitney and to visit Death Valley National Park, Mammoth Lakes and Yosemite National Park, which are located within driving distance of the motel. Since our last stay in September 2018, the guest rooms have been impressively renovated. It was like staying in a brand new motel. The front desk staff, Leigh, Debbie, Margarita, Maylee and Vance, provided us with excellent customer service and always made a point to say "good morning" while on our way to the breakfast room. The hotel offers excellent room rates and a delicious full breakfast each morning - a bargain worth considering. The housekeeping staff is very friendly and they did an excellent job of cleaning our room, changing the sheets and providing fresh smelling towels each day. The hotel also has a nice size pool and gym, an ice machine, drink machines, excellent washers and dryers, plenty of parking, and a breathtaking view of Mount Whitney and California's majestic Eastern Sierra directly across historic Rt. 395 in front of the motel (see pics.) This is our favorite place to stay when we go hiking in sierras rooms are clean, breakfast is freshly made and tasty normally i never sleep well when traveling but this is not the case when staying at bw lone pine i will keep coming back

This is a pretty remote area, but this town, and motel, are an oasis in this dry and dusty land. The motel itself fits the town and landscape with its design. A clean, comfortable room awaited us after a hot evening in Death Valley. The motel is about an hour west of Death Valley, but it is the closest accommodations you will find on this side of the park. A hot breakfast buffet was the perfect start to another day of exploring the park. We didn't have time to enjoy the pool, but it looked like a great spot to cool off. I highly recommend this motel.

Perfect spot for Best Western Hotel on highway 395, conveniently located and easy to find while on a driving vacation. The rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast was ok foe a 2 star hotel. Being a member helps receiving a better price.

The room exceeded my expectations. The check-in clerk was friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable, as was the chair & ottoman. It had every amenity I could think of. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the room and the little touches, like the five pillows on the bed, plenty of towels, etc. The grounds were well kept, and the general appearance of the motel was very nice. The only complaint I have was that before I arrived, I received a text telling me that I could check in early for just $25. After I checked out, I got a text letting me know that I could delay check-out time for $25. These texts were annoying and frankly a little bush league. Other than that, the stay was excellent. I'd like to offer the Best Western company a positive review on Trip Advisor, for just $25.

Stayed here one night on the way to Reno. An excellent property - well managed. Well organized as they communicate with you before and after trip. Also enjoyed numbered parking spaces near your room for easy parking. It's an motel style design. Park near your room. Room door on the outside. My room was clean and well furnished. Good A/C, too which was helpful for the day I was there as it was windy and hot. Which leads to the pool - felt great taking a late afternoon dip! Will stay again.

Found this property by chance when driving back to Reno from Las Vegas on the hottest day of the year so far in the state! It was such a joy to stay there with beautiful mountain view, comfortable and convenient to the highway but not a lot of noise. Birds chirping, a nice pool area and good parking. Met international travelers from Italy and South Africa. My go to place I think for a weekend get away in relaxing surroundings.

This is a Motel 6 branded as a Best Western. For the price, I was expecting a normal Best Western, not a motel. It was a fine place to stay and I slept well. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. This is the type of motel you just use for sleeping. The room was tiny and there was no computer desk. I would stay here again, but it is expensive for a motel. I was just here to sleep after Death Valley. If you are into hiking, check out the Mt Whitney trail to Lone Pine lake nearby.

The hotel is clean and very nice. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was good. Only complaint the a/c unit jn room 129 is very noisy, but I can live with that for one night! The young lady that checked me in was very nice & helpful. All in all a very nice stay..we will be back.

Took a weekend fishing trip up to Aspendell with fiancé and our 2 year old. We're coming back home and wanted to stay in Lone Pine for at least one night and then make the 4 hour trip back home. Check in was smooth and simple, and our room wa solvated by the pool. It was clean, nice fresh linens, by the sink there was actually makeup remover wipes and a facial cleansing bar and that was a blessing ! Showers water pressure was great and got hot fast. Fridge in in the cabinets below the tv with a little microwave. In the bathroom there was the coffee maker that was actually CLEAN and WORKED. this is very rare in my opinion. I've been to many, many hotels or motels that the coffee make is broken or super dirty. All in all made for an easy night with us 3 , good little shops and food near by. Check out Rocks and gifts a couple lights up if your into gems and stones!

Tipical motel, which is an experience in itself. The staff was friendly and the room up to standards. A little far from the city center, you'll need to drive to Lone Pine. All in all a good experience.

I like to visit Lone Pine to do photography in the area. The Best Western in Lone Pine is conveniently located for this and is a clean, well-kept property. I have stayed there before and will in the future.

The facilities were extremely clean and neat. Staff was very helpful. The front desk person took people in the order they came in. if she got interrupted by a call it was placed on hold until she had helped everyone that was in line when the call came in. Best "breakfast included" I have had in a long time.

Great little Motel and Margarita on reception looked after us very well! The room was clean and each room has it's own individual parking space, so easy to lug our gear from the boot ( trunk). Also had a pool which we didn't have time to use but looked inviting.

The rooms are so much better and the breakfast is amazing there. The location is perfect with a view. The service is amazing and access to all activities nearby. Pool is nice ana clean with towels provided.

Although the outside looks a little dated the rooms were clean and comfortable with all amenities we needed. Parking outside room. Although on the highway we slept even with windows open as very quiet at night. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate. Staff friendly and helpful

Last year we camped at Portagee Joes to wake up and hike the Lone Pine Lake trail. The winds were so high and sustained for so long we packed up early and left without hiking. This year we stayed at the Beat Western Plus and LIVED it! Breakfast was included, showers with super hot water, and NO WIND!!!! We wound up doing the hike and had a great little weekend getaway because of Best Western. We will be coming back her guaranteed!

My 3rd time in a year staying here. The rooms are spacious, very clean, convenient access to the car right outside the room. Coffee and breakfast available early. All the staff is into great service. Love this place!

The Best Western is a quiet and well kept motel in Lone Pine. It was convenient to the Wild Wild West Race location and downtown LP. The breakfast was well stocked and it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the view of the mountains.

Stayed 2 nights in room 102. The room was plenty big with a nice closet, fridge, microwave and big bathroom. Breakfast was decent, about like any free hotel breakfast. It is very close to road so you will have noise. Bed could use replacing, huge dip in the middle. Friendly staff at check-in and check-out. Laundry room is not where it says on map, by the way. Not sure if staff have ever been to it but it's not on opposite side of complex as it says on map. It's down by vending machines on same side as front lobby. The signs aren't accurate for it either. We walked all the way around complex before realizing it was just down the walkway on same side as our room. Overall, a nice stay and would stay again.

Patricia and the Manager were very helpful on the phone when calls were placed about reservation concerns. The room was clean and quiet. The assigned parking spaces do make things a little easier. It was a hot Sunday when I checked in, it was disappointing to find out the pool was ice cold. The woman working at the desk said the pool was solar heated... The complete breakfast was appreciated.

I have stayed at this property multiple times. Always clean, updated room. Friendly service and convenient to the Mount Whitney Portal. Short distance to the portal road and favorite restaurant in town, Seasons (great choice for a stellar meal post summit).

Road trip 2022 started with two lovely nights in Lone Pine. The view of Mt Whitney and Eastern Sierra is breathtaking. Great area for a dog walk, though not enclosed, there is a dog walk by the neighborhood park that was great to let our gal out to run Breakfast was hot and very good. The front desk staff is very kind and friendly. We will be back!

We were part of a large group and really appreciated how friendly and accommodating the staff were. We were able to gather a couple of evenings in a room off the breakfast area, which really was nice of them as the weather was not suitable for gathering outside in the picnic area. Rooms were quiet and clean, plus free coffee was available in the main building 24/7. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location for a one night stay for a road trip. Staff were polite and plenty of parking provided. Room was dated and dark (due to brown carpets and upholstery) and sadly smelt a little musty. Room spacious and plenty of toiletries and fluffy towels given. Breakfast selection was limited but this may of been due to the previous days storm causing disruptions.

Great motel with good sized comfortable rooms. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Generous amount of soaps, shampoos, lotions are provided with lots of thick soft towels and nice bedding. The facility looks dated compared to many others; it is an older place. But there are wall chargers for your devices, and plenty of good lighting. Best part of all is the excellent hot breakfast with many choices and good coffee. We will definitely return here.

It can be challenging to find a decent hotel that allows dogs, well this hotel is one of them and the dog fee was only $25. I wish the dog area was a bit nicer, But it worked. The full breakfast was great, fresh pancakes, eggs, tater tots, and chorizo, along with cereal and oatmeal and quick things like that. The hotel room was basic, but spacious. The parking was close to the room which made it very convenient. Designated parking for each room so you never got your spot taken. All the staff were courteous and very helpful.

Due to build up of sewer odor in room (which staff concurred) we were moved to another room late in evening. Staff were accommodating through the process. Inconvenient to pack up at 10:00 pm to move, however they did give us a better room and much better bathroom arrangement.

Loved this hotel! Friendly staff, super clean rooms, and awesome breakfast. The scrambled eggs were fresh & hot, with salsa & tortillas, etc. - not the same old, same old. We were there in early April so didn't use the pool , but it's a lovely outside area with an incredible view or the eastern Sierra's including Mt. Whitney.

My husband, dog an I stayed at this property for 3 enjoyable nights. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, plenty of towels and in room coffee. Breakfast was plentiful. We arrived and were checked in by a courteous desk clerk. The assigned parking works well, we were just feet from our room. The room was very clean. Breakfast was great with several options on food choices. Wifi was fast. We have stayed here before and will return in the future.

The setting is spectacular & a great springboard to exploring Lone Pine & moving on to Death Valley. Classic motel style with everything you need. Parking spaces are tight & pool chilly but it's early in the season, otherwise all was wonderful.

Staying the night here was different and fun as they have themed rooms and we stayed in a John Wayne themed room but did notice that they had other themed rooms. Makes me want to come back to stay in the others.

We were pleasantly surprised with this motel. Check in was quick and efficient. The front desk clerks were all very friendly. Parking is right in front of the rooms which is a huge plus. The outside is modest and not very appealing. However, the rooms are updated and very clean and the beds are very comfortable. The rooms are well equipped and the bathroom was nice with many towels. Breakfast is free and overall ok. The selection was a little limited (only apple juice, no orange juice) and quality was average (sausage and bacon were very dry). Overall a very good experience and would recommend if you stay in Lone Pine.

Bed soft, room clean, easy to park outside hotel room, and breakfast had good choices. Plus was next to Alabama Hills and not far from Death Valley National Park. Great views of Mount Whitney right in-front of hotel!

Comfortable BW motel. Better than usual breakfast. First time I ever saw a pancake machine that could make 1 or more pancakes/order. Eggs and ground chorizo. Huge bathroom with immediate hot water. Comfortable bed. Quiet.

We visited this Best Western, not once, but twice in a week. Both experiences were awesome! Rooms were clean and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Kudos to the front desk and especially the housekeeping crew! Our family has been stopping there for years and we have never been disappointed.

Oh my gosh, this is my new favorite Best Western. Love the location on the edge of town. Rooms were large and you get great TV channels. The breakfast was a hot breakfast buffet which was nice. I travel with a dog and they gave me a room at the back of the property which is nice for getting the dog out. Front desk and housekeeping were very friendly and accommodating. I can't say enough nice things about this place. The price was amazing for weekend night. And you get a view of Mt. Whitney every time you walk out the door. I will definatley be telling everyone I know this is the place to stay in Lone Pine.

We loved our stay at the Lone Pine Best Western. The room was clean and getting to bring our pup with us was a huge plus! The breakfast was incredible and included eggs, potatoes, and some osrt of breakfast meat each day in addition to the standard continental breakfast fare. Perfect fuel for a day of hiking and exploring in the area. I highly recommend staying here!

We went to Lone Pine to stay one night for a hunting trip. It was the perfect place to stay. It was clean and quiet and very reasonably price. It is not a fancy place but perfect for what we needed. The bonus was the breakfast was pretty good .

We booked a room at this property on the return leg of our vacation. It was in a great location for our visit to the Manzanar National Historic Site, location of a WWII Japanese Internment camp. In addition to the historic site, this property, located in Lone Pine, CA, is a gateway to many other recreational opportunities.

Normal BW property - carpets need upgrading, but there was a sign saying that they are cleaned twice a week until new ones are installed. Auto pancake maker worked great! They have washer and dryer on premises.

For the price paid, this was a great value. We stayed one night in Lone Pine on our way to Mammoth and also explored the Alabama Hills. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was adequate and the coffee good.

My husband and I chose the Best Western at Lone Pine because of its easy access and ample parking. We arrived on two motorcycles and it was important to us to have a first-floor room with a parking spot in front of it so that we could keep an eye on the motorcycles. The receptionist, Patricia, was very kind honoring our request - we got a quiet room in a secluded part of the hotel grounds under a wide-view camera. The views are stunning, the room was clean and well appointed. At first we were surprised to find out that there was no shampoo in the dispenser in the bathroom, only a small bottle. Then we read the notice at the front desk apologizing for this and explaining that there is shortage of supplies. The hotel offers full hot breakfast buffet with options for everyone. Overall, great stay.

Nice older but well maintained motel at the base of Mount Whitney. Good beds, pillows and towels. Pleasant staff and good breakfast. My only complaint is the filthy carpeting in the room. Get a room towards the back so you don't hear the trucks rolling through town.

Hotel has a great location, easy in and out, parking close to rooms. The breakfast is a big draw…. Big variety and very good. However, the hotel is looking a little dated. The carpets and stained and in need of replacement with say hardwood vinyl. The sign in the lobby even says they know the carpet is stained and they have them cleaned regularly but…..

On my way to Mammoth Mountain and needed a place to pull in for the night. I saw this motel on my phone and thought I'd check it out. I'm so glad they have availability. The room was clean, and comfortable. They served a great breakfast which helped me get back on the road. I would stay here again in anytime. .

We stayed over one night while passing through Lone Pine. Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The towels were soft, water pressure and temperature very good. Breakfast in the morning was good. Would definitely stay again!

Hotel was convenient for visiting the area although it's on a busy highway and you will hear it. We asked to be moved to a room further back from the road. They do offer wonderful white noise machines and blackout curtains. You will hear doors, parking lot noise and neighbors in the next room. They should NOT allow pets, as furniture and carpets are very stained. Bed was meh, mattress needs replacing. Breakfast was ok although a young woman stands and stares at everyone while they're eating which is extremely uncomfortable!!

We normally stay at Hilton affiliates and were very pleasantly surprised by the clean, comfortable, pet friendly room and delicious breakfast we had at this motel. The rates were amazing. We will definitely stay again.

Very thankful they were able to Accommodate our last minute booking. Our Airbnb canceled 5 hours before check-in and we were o Vacation from Florida Visiting Death Valley in California. I called and got a 2 queen bed room. Room was clean with a mini refrigerator and microwave. Shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers in shower. Breakfast provided. Nothing fancy but nice for being included with stay. Each morning was a little different but yogurts, cereals, breads/ muffins, make yourself pancake machine, eggs, potatoes, sausage, tortillas. They also discount for AAA and military.

The breakfast was great. They are dog friendly which made the stay even better. We also were offered late check out which was super helpful. Overall we enjoyed the stay and will be back in the future when traveling through the 395.

Lone pine does not have high profile hotels, This Best western is good one for stay. Property is well maintained, room is clean. Price is good for the quality I can find in surrounding area. Overall is great.

It's just outside of town so not walking distance to anything. We were at the back of the property at o it was quiet. Staff was friendly. Breakfast options were limited but well stocked and decent quality. The pancake machine is pretty neat and naked good pancakes. My only real complaint is that there was only one door hook to hang bath towels after use. Not having a place for a family to hang their towels after use is actually pretty inconvenient—especially for multi night stays.

The views of the high Sierras are marvelous. The rooms are warm and comfortable. The beds are a comfort after a long day's drive. On this stay the front help staff went beyond their responsibilities to help us resolve a problem. We always prefer to stay at this motel on our travel through Lone Pine.

Room was clea. We got room 159 which is our favorite room. Thanks to the staff for filling our request. Thank you for bringing back breakfast buffet, best bacon ever. From the front desk ladies to the breakfast staff and a special shout out to the hard working people that make the rooms up for guests. We look forward to our return In April.

Beautiful view of the mountains, comfortable, well-appointed rooms, great value, kind, helpful staff. Hot breakfast included and coffee available at all times. Pet-friendly with no fee at the time of our visit, though signs indicated that a pet fee would be added in the future. Note that the hotel is a short (2 min) drive from the town center.

We stay in Lone Pine every year over Thanksgiving and have never been disappointed in this Motel. The rooms have been clean, breakfast is good with a wide variety and the staff has always done their best to please you if the need arises. We always look forward to staying here.

It was a very comfortable stay. The breakfast lady found my credit cards/license/atm cards on the floor when they dropped out of my wallet. She took them to the front desk. I have a different last name than my husband so those ladies just waited until I asked. All sweet, honest ladies. The other guests were delightful as well. Thank you. We will come again.

This was a great comfortable place to stay. Easy check in, clean room and comfortable bed. The shower could use a little TLC but the water was hot and pressure was great. The breakfast in the lobby was simple but had plenty of options including great scrambled eggs and sausage and pancakes. Friendly staff as well. Huge bonus for us was that they are dog friendly. We'd definitely stay here again!

This has become one of my favorite places to stay. I love Lone Pine and this motel. It's easy access, rooms are clean, and staff is really friendly. Rooms on the south end of property are really big! And named after the movie stars who starred in films filmed in the area. I have had great experiences at this property! It's my go-to in Lone Pine.

The Hotel was very easy too find and get into the lobby & checked in. The Hotel has a very nice small quiet appeal and the views outside during morning and night are amazing. My girlfriend & her daughter thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and the room's beds are very comfortable.

Our go-to choice in the Eastern Sierra, the BW Frontier continues to maintain the quality and high standards we have enjoyed there for the last ten years. We travel to Lone Pine often, sometimes just to escape the LA area and enjoy the fresh air(and the steak at Seasons restaurant nearby). We always stay at the Frontier and are have yet to be disappointed. Clean, well-maintained rooms, HD tv, comfortable beds, cheerful, friendly service and a fantastic breakfast make this hotel a relative bargain.

One of the best hotel experiences we've ever had! My family and I spent 13 nights at this wonderful hotel, and our experience couldn't have been better! Rooms were spacious and well appointed, beds were very comfortable, and it was so nice having numbered parking spaces for each room right in front of the doors! Breakfast was such a treat every morning- scrambled eggs, tortillas, rotating potato and breakfast meat, cereal, muffins, English muffins, bread, yogurt, fruit, and the BEST pancakes I've ever had!! And the staff was amazing! They went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Some of the best hotel staff we've ever encountered, and we travel a lot! The town of Lone Pine is so picturesque and quaint, and the views from this hotel are stunning! Mt. Whitney makes a beautiful backdrop during breakfast. And the film history in the area is unmatched! Hundreds of films, TV series, and commercials have been filmed in the nearby Alabama Hills since 1919, and driving and hiking through them is such a pleasure for the sight soul! We loved our time in Lone Pine, and the Best Western Frontier motel was the perfect base camp in every way for all our adventures! Thanks for everything, and we'll definitely be back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Given high ratings and the Best Western PLUS name, perhaps our expectations were too high. While the checkin staff was pleasant and a breakfast is included, the room was just a standard motel room from decades ago. Anything unique? Two cowboy pictures on the wall. Anything substandard? A stained carpet. Perhaps the best in Lone Pine, but average most anywhere else.

We stayed for only 1 night but it was great. This is an older motel (built in the 1950s?) but everything was clean and in working condition. The room was a good size with plenty of room for 2 adults. The bathroom was huge (maybe ADA?); always a plus! The bed and linens were comfortable; we had no problems sleeping. Though the road was sort of nearby, we did not hear it with the A/C unit fan running constantly. They provided breakfast which included hot items like tater tots & eggs along with the usual cold items like cereal, yogurt, fruit (chopped mango!), bagels, toast, muffins. We were able to make a delicious filling breakfast. They also have an outdoor pool but we did not use it. At $141 for the night, including all taxes & fees, it's a super value and we highly recommend it!

Honestly in the small town we were in I was worried that the hotel would be super out dated and not as clean. I was proven wrong it was really nice and the breakfast was by far the best we had on a trip where were stayed in hotels 15 nights in a row. Great place to stop and rest even if just for the night.

Room was quiet, seems like it was a road side hotel rebranded by Best Western. Worked out well for a night while on a road trip. The hot breakfast was quite good. They are having issues with their carpets having stains, but they have a sign posted that the carpets are cleaned biweekly and wil be changed over winter. I would recommend this hotel while on a road trip

An exceptional roadside motel! When booking our night in Lone Pine I was surprised to see a bit of a jump in price for this Best Western compared to other motels in the area, but when we got here it was very easy to see why. It is a newly renovated and beautiful motel with exceptional upkeep of the grounds and service levels. It's also incredibly close to the road to Death Valley and has quite a few other Lone Pine restaurants and attractions within a 5 minute drive. This set a new standard for me for a “roadside motel” - I could easily see why the reviews were so good!

We routinely stay at this hotel on our biannual trip from Lake Tahoe to Southern California. Our mountain house in our Beachhouse. Lone Pine is a great little town in about midway for us in our travels. It also has a Tesla Supercharger, and a good restaurant. This hotel is clean staff is courteous, and typically ready to help. We have stayed at this location no less than a dozen times in the last few years. This last trip was the only time we had any problem, as when we arrived we were told our requested room was not available. The dogs were no longer allowed in that room. The next morning we found out that information was false, however the night staff is going to be reprimanded.

This place is a classic and I would highly recommend this BW motel. A bit dated perhaps, but the room was clean spacious and quiet. And the price was right. Close to the Death Valley visitor's center and all the downtown restaurants. We had been 17 days into a 44 day long road trip when we stayed at this motel. By far, the best breakfast we have had. Great job by the young lady taking care of the breakfast foods. Thanks to the entire staff

I stayed twice-on the way to San Diego from Reno and then the return. Initially when I went to check in Margarita, the receptionist, found that both reservations had been canceled. She rebooked my return and provided a better rate-$126 vs $146. She is terrific.

Newly decorated rooms are wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the assigned parking space near your room ensured easy loading and unloading of your car. Altogether, a great hotel with a great location.

It was ok. Room was fairly clean. Beds not very comfortable but ok. Shower pretty horrible. Pool was cold and towels were rags essentially. What you would expect pretty much. Was very disappointed that the front desk person wore their mask under their nose *every time* I saw them in the lobby.

What a pleasant surprise! Spacious rooms comfortably furnished were exceptionally clean including the bathroom/shower. The staff at the front desk were attentive, knowledgeable and helpful at both check-in and check-out. Most of my hotel stays are in urban, upscale hotels, but Lone Pine is far from urban ... it is remote and not far from the Mt. Whitney Portal so I greatly appreciated the comfort and cleanliness of the room and the quality of the staff.

We stayed at Best Western after hiking Mt. Whitney. We were so happy to have a lovely room, hot shower and comfy bed to sleep in. We didn't get to take advantage of the pool or breakfast but I'll be happy to come back and give both those a go!

The entire facility was very clean and it was one of the few places that actually offered a hot breakfast and had it!! We totally enjoyed the deluxe room. Patricia, the woman at the front desk was professional, polite and pleasant. You are fortunate to have such a wonderful employee.

Tv reception was spotty. The room was very Quiet. The room was very Comfortable. Laundry facilities and a pool were all pluses. Overall it was a good visit and we'd rebook again. Parking was a bit tight but the service at reception was another plus.

I have a new puppy and a 7 year old dog. Having the space outside attached by an additional patio door was very nice. It was really comforting knowing that they could go outside and get fresh air without bothering other guests. This location is a great stopping point for long drives. I will try to stay again

When you are about to summit the highest peak of Continental US - you really need a good night sleep. This Best Western has nice new comfortable beds, excellent AC, and is located in a quieter part of Lone Pine. It is a great place to stay after the hike because of pool and jacuzzi. Hot breakfast is served from 6am to 10 am, gran'n'go breakfast is available as well. Affordable price, I will be staying here again soon.

We stayed here 1 night while on a road trip . Best Western Plus hotels have always been good for us. This one was well kept. It also had a very nice large swimming pool that was very clean. The breakfast was hot and had great choices with a very helpful staff. Our room was clean, and comfortable in spite of needing a few small maintenance items taken care of. We will consider staying here again.

Very nice motel! Renovated, clean and comfortable. Check in was easy. The ladies who ran the breakfast buffet were excellent! Wonderful breakfast buffet. Room amenities were nice, and included a lap desk. Plugs and USB ports in lamps and clock. Very enjoyable stay.

This is a great hotel in Lone Pine with nice rooms, great staff and close to the Mt. Whitney Portal! Check in is simple, breakfast is offered hot or on the run. The rooms seemed recently updated. Great view of the Mt. Whitney summit.

This is our second time staying at this hotel. The location is great, with beautiful views of the Sierra range right outside your room. The rooms are spacious, clean and the WiFi is fast. The hotel staff are also friendly. The AC in the units works great. It was 100 deg when we were in Lone Pine and our room stayed cool. I look forward to returning here. It's nice that they offer a hot breakfast and I appreciate it, but don't have too high of an expectation of the breakfast. But it's something to eat before heading out.

I did a day hike with a group up Mt. Whitney on July 15. I was exhausted. This hotel is terrific and a great value. Besides a great location, the hotel staff were cheerful and accommodating. My room was spacious and clean. The air conditioner was powerful and much-needed, considering the outside temperature was just over 100 degrees. The shower was powerful, the bed was soft, and the TV worked great. The pool was just steps away from my room. The most impressive aspect was the breakfast included in the fee: eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, cereal, coffee... just terrific with a wonderful staff person helping the guests. What a great place with a nice and affordable rate. I'll be back, for sure!

This hotel is better than it may initially appear. The pool area is delightful (my kids loved it), the staff very helpful and accommodating, and the rooms lovely. Best hotel in Lone Pine, which offers some fine food options for a town as small as it is. The highway traffic is a bit noisy, but the hotel is far enough away so it's no issue.

Very comfortable home base for Eastern Sierra / Death Valley adventures! Spacious rooms, immaculate cleanliness, nice staff and amenities. Views of Mt. Whitney from the pool and outdoor tables. All around very pleased with this stay and would come back.

Our room was clean and comfortable and conveniently located for our pre and post hike stay. The modified hot breakfast was easy to order and was made to order quickly. The staff was friendly at all encounters. Our room was clean and comfortable.

I stayed here in the 90s and really liked it. So I made reservations for my trip at the end of June. The facilities are clean and well cared for. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is really good and they serve until 10. I will stay there on my return home.

When I walked into my king-bedded room, it was immediately obvious that the room had been recently remodeled. My perception was confirmed when I saw workers remodeling another unit not too far from me. Everything was sparking clean, well-appointed, and modern looking. The bed was very comfortable, room quiet, and curtains kept out the light. There was a small table and chairs in the room, which came in handy for eating the breakfast provided by the motel. There is ample storage space in an armoire and dresser. I was happy to have a refrigerator for keeping some water and juices chilled. I didn't use the pool, but I did enjoy the view of Mt. Whitney visible from the front of the motel. Although located on highway 395, the motel is set back far enough that I didn't notice traffic noise. The bathroom had plenty of space for toiletries. The shower was terrific. I suggest that the hotel add some hooks for towels, as there is plenty of space on the blank walls. Perhaps this is part of the remodeling effort? Each morning, guests phone the front desk to order breakfast items—eggs, muffins, and so on. When the order is ready, the office phones and then you can either take the food back to your room, eat indoors, or eat poolside. I imagine when COVID restrictions ease, that Best Western will resume buffet service. In the meantime, this is a good solution.

I love the Best Western Plus in Lone Pine, California. I go the the film festival there every year and have stayed here frequently. It is very clean and the rooms are frequently updated. There breakfast service is a very welcome amenity! They really take care of you.

I cannot say enough nice things about my stay at the Best Western plus. The staff are amazing! So friendly and helpful! My room was absolutely spotless. I've stayed in five-star hotels that were not as clean as my room at this Best Western. The bed was a dream, so comfortable! The bathroom lots immaculate, and really nicely upgraded. If you're reading this review trying to decide whether to stay here or elsewhere, just book it! You will not be sorry!

I recently stayed 4 nights in Lone Pine during a road trip along 395. I picked this particular motel based on viewing online reviews. I was not disappointed! The staff is professional and efficient. The breakfast was more than adequate and available by phoning the front desk to place the order. It was always ready (for pick-up) within 10 mins. The local views were exquisite of Mt. Whitney are neighboring hills and mountains. The Western Film Museum is right down the street, as well as the Whitney Portal Road (the closest you can drive up to Whitney). I ate at two restaurants in town and The Grill was my favorite... also located right down the street. I'd stay here again!

Hotel a little old, but comfortable rooms and quiet. Outer door of our room needed to be replaced because there was a gap in the bottom. Breakfast system was good and fairly decent..you call in the order and they have it ready for you to pickup and eat there or outside tables provided. EXCELLENT view if Sierra Nevada range!

Room very clean, well located in town and good location for traveling through town! Great for dogs. We had two doors, one opened to a dog relief area! Yeah. COVID breakfast was cooked for you. Or an early grab n go snack.

The hotel is clean, quiet and has a nice outdoor patio to enjoy breakfast. It's not in the center of Lone Pine, so unfortunately you can't walk to any of the local stores, but the scenery is very pretty and quiet. The free breakfast was tasty, and above average for a small hotel like this. All the employees were really friendly and helpful too. The drive to Mt Whitney was about 20 minutes away, which helped when we left to climb it at 2am. Stayed here for 2 nights.

We spent two nights at this Best Western. The staff was friendly, however the room was small. The bathroom was also very small. They have dedicated parking stalls for the room which enabled guests to park close to their room. This was the best breakfast at a Best Western since the start of the Covid-19 safety precautions. What happens is you call the front desk with your order from the menu, and it will be prepared for you by hotel staff. The portions were on the small side, but it did have hot protein, scrambled eggs, toast, juice, coffee...

It was nice place to stay you got everything covered, but our room was left as is other than replacing few towels one day. Room maintenance was a let Nice place to stay if you are visiting death valley national park.

Our stay was only for one night but we would have enjoyed to be there more nights. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The location has a gorgeous view of Mt. Whitney. It is a short 3 min drive to town.

We were very impressed with the Frontier. Great location on edge of town. Super clean and well decorated and maintained. Very friendly and accommodating staff. We had been on the road for a few days and stayed in some sub-par places before this one, so it was great to stay somewhere we felt really comfortable and could get a good rest. Traveling with our dog, who was also very happy to stay here. Would absolutely return.

This is our second time to this hotel. True to its word all COVID safety were kept. everything was clean, each issue was resolved less than 12 hours. Great prices. Thank you, we will be back in the summer.

Wow what a nice motel! Very clean, comfortable beds and super friendly staff. The building is old but very well maintained. They are somehow able to still offer a free hot breakfast while other hotels have just stopped. Super impressed!!

This hotel is FANTASTIC! It's clean, comfortable and safe. The front staff is very nice and informative. They even serve a limited continental breakfast (you order it and then pick it up and take it back to your room) which includes some warm items (eggs, meat, toast), muffins, various fruits and cereals. The rooms have a mini fridge and mic, great selection of TV channels, hair dryer, heater/ac. I'd definitely stay here again. It's a total hidden gem.

Great room, all around great experience, high quality clean rooms and friendly efficient service. The only downside was that our breakfast (which is ordered over the phone from the front desk during covid) was cold when we picked it up including the coffee. It should be possible to simply allow folks to pick up their breakfast without ordering first given the relatively low number of rooms.

We have stayed here more than once and we love it. Our dog really loves it! Our room is always clean and comfy, with a back door that goes to a yard that my dog thinks is there just for him. The staff is friendly and even check on our needs before we got there. On our next trip to Lone Pine we will be staying there again!

We got here after a long day of driving, the woman at the front desk was friendly and efficient with getting us our room. We had three adults and two dogs staying in one double queen room, so we figured it'd be a tight squeeze for the night. The door to our room was sealed with a “clean” sticker, and the room smelled like a hospital, it was so clean! It was also way more spacious for all of us than I had imagined, and we were told that our pet friendly room had a back door that led to the “pet area.” It was a nice little private dirt lot, with a poop bag station, just beware of some debris around the edge that looked dangerous to doggy paws. Beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada range were right outside the door! Definitely recommend this place for anyone stopping in Lone Pine!

As a solo traveler, I felt very safe. The room was very clean, the front desk was incredibly helpful, and someone even checked in with me via text during my stay to make sure I got everything I could need. There was even a pretty good breakfast (during COVID that has not been the norm for many hotels) and everyone followed the safety guidelines in place to protect against covid! Exceptional stay for the price!

Clean, quiet, and competitive price. Managers run a good hotel. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and breakfast was good, even during covid. Modernized rooms, very sanitary. The hotel is half a mile south of the edge of town, so it's quiet.

Quick and very informational checkin. Most places are painfully slow and lack communication across their booking platforms - not this hotel! Keys were in my hand within 45 seconds of walking into check-in lobby. ^In my opinion, the above is what makes a hotel great. What makes a hotel exceptional, is how effectively that check-in time is used. I always ask myself as a guest “Do I feel self-sufficient, confident, and a little bit more in control of my life?” after I have been given the keys to my room. 99% of the time, I feel less than neutral about my knowledge. She walked through the information packets with us and ensured there was nothing outstanding between us and a truly comfortable stay on the road. This hotel is nothing fancy but it has great beds and the room is nice looking. The location is a great stopping place on the way from San Diego to Tahoe and view across the street is beautiful. Manzanar is a close must see.

I stay at the Frontier Motel. The rooms very comfortable, clean, nicely appointed and, in my opinion, very reasonably priced. As usual, the staff was very friendly during check-in and check-out. We've stayed at several other hotels/motels during this COVID thing and the Frontier Motel is handling the complimentary breakfast in a unique (at least to us) manner: you call the front desk to place your order your HOT meal (meat, eggs, etc.) and then go pick it up in 10-15 minutes. Well done! We spend 10 - 15 room nights per year in hotels/motels, and this place is one of our all time favorites.

We came up to see the stars, checked it, went to bed, woke up at 1am and drove out and looked at the stars for an hour and came back and went to bed. The kids did school work until 11am and then we took off for home. We really enjoyed ourselves.

This Best Western Plus was quiet, clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not comfortable. I could control the temperature of the room for coolness at night and a bit warmer in the morning. The mini fridge was plugged in and already cold for our sodas. Breakfast was prepared to go, and was good except it would have been nice to have had salt and pepper for the eggs and the butter was too hard to spread on the toast. The bagel was nice and fresh. I asked for milk and coffee but only got coffee which, however, was good. // Shari

It was our first time into a hotel since the COVID spread. We picked up BW after we read the COVID safety restrictions. we thought to give them a try. It was beyond our expectation - every safety restriction was implemented to the letter. Both rooms were sparkly clean and disinfected. each day a staff would come by to ask if anything is needed. High speed WIFI allowed for movie download, breakfast was served individually according to the guest preference. All the appliance worked great. We had the best time! looking forward to be back and highly recommend.

We stay here every year over Thanksgiving (unable last year due to a new puppy ) and ALWAYS enjoy our stay' The staff is great and you are always treated well. Check in and out is quick and easy. We have found that the staff is always trying to please you.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times. The ambiance is fantastic just like their staff. Beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada. Hotel is situated in the outskirts of Lone Pine in a very quiet surrounding. The full breakfast served is excellent for these unusual times. We look forward to our next visit at this hotel.

As usual the motel suits my needs for a stop over on my way to the desert. I always ask for and receive the same room, as my dog enjoys the large back yard behind the motel...which could be spruced up a bit Room is always clean and neat with plenty of towels, soaps, and basic amenities.

This is one of my favorite BW properties. Have always had a great stay here. Location is conveniently out of the main business area, but close to the road to Death Valley. They have seamlessly transitioned to providing great service during the Pandemic. Rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable.

I reserved this room online the morning I left. When I arrived about 9:30 in the evening the staff was very friendly and helpful, and check in was a breeze. The room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The next morning the breakfast staff was extraordinarily helpful and very friendly while remaining very professional, and the food was good, too. I had some emergency printing of documents I needed right before leaving, and they made sure I was alright. I recommend this place for several reasons, and the biggest one is the staff.

It is rare that a humble looking motel should earn a 5 star review. Now that doesn't mean the Best Western is a 5 star property like a Peninsula or Four Seasons, but that the standards by which we judge it were not only met but exceeded. From the outside, the property looks like any other roadside motel from the 50's. That is actually part of its charm. It is clean and well maintained, it even has a small relaxing looking swimming pool. The rooms, however, punch above their weight class. The larger guest rooms all have names of 50's and 60's movie stars. We were lucky enough to spend a night in room 172, the Roy Rogers room. Unlike so many 2 star properties, the owners here actually but thought and care into designing the room. From the spaciousness of it, to the comfortable couch and leather chair, to the large TV with a large number of channels. The bathroom had great, lemon scented toiletries, and even had a jetted tub! Here is what really makes the property special, the "named" rooms all have pictures relating to their namesake. Our's had a bunch of photos of Roy Rogers, Dale Evans and Trigger. The room itself even connected to the Dale Evans room. That was a nice, a sweet gesture. The room was spotless, you can tell the employees care. Parking was ample. Great dining options only minutes away. Absolutely loved our short time here. If we are ever in the area again, we would only choose the Best Western Frontier. Thanks for the great stay.

Our car parked in front of our room. So basically it's like living at home, very convenient for packing and loading our luggages. The breakfast room is small but pretty. We can also dine outside with the Mt. Whitney as background. Room is clean and spacious, with coffee machine inside. The swimming pool is heated. There's also a fitness Center.

For what it is, roadside motel, this is a classic. They do it right. The property is near the main highway, but we had very little road noise. It is within easy driving distance to restaurants in the main part of town. The grounds are well kept and has a cute saguaro cactus sculpture. The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. The room was large, very clean and had two sinks. The mattress was great. The fitness center was closed due to county COVID restrictions. The pool was open. They had a hot breakfast option with a limited menu. No cereal. The price was reasonable.

I do like to stay here when I visit Lone pine. You have your own parking space with the same number as your room. That is a nice feature. I have been to BW in West Yellowstone(Montana), Meridian(ID), Ehrenberg(AZ) and Needles(CA). This is place is the first to offer hot food for breakfast. so, I had scrambled eggs and sausages. I had special paper bag, Covid-19 breakfasts in three places. If you leave very early, you will get a paper bag BF from 5:30 to 6:30. The only disadvantage is the location; it is about 1/2 mile out of town. I docked a point for this: I came to the office to drop off my room key. I scanned the desk and did not see a key box. So, I waited for clerk who was helping another customer. It took at least five minutes. I asked where the key box. The clerk said, "Oh, the box is sideways." I was on my way back home and I did not appreciate the delay. So, I gave four dots instead of five.

My family and I travel a lot. This location here was very upsetting. I chose to stay here because of these good reviews but was I wrong. Beware!!! 7am as my family including my kids were asleep the maids next to us in that utility room were yelling so loud and across the hallway to each other. They were blasting music and making so much noise. We had no choice but to be wide awake very upset. My husband had to get up in Pjs to tell the workers to keep it down. Overall it was a terrible experience and if I could I'd definitely let whoever I can know in advanced that this location was somewhere to stay clear of. I wish I can get some or at least all of my money back. It was definitely not worth it in this town.

I had a wonderful stay in Lone Pine at the Best Western, and the hotel staff, especially Margarita, helped me with supplies I forgot from home and information about the area. I am planning to return again soon.

My husband, two cats and i spent three nights at this motel. We were in a warning evacutation zone. We decided to leave anyway and escaping the smoke in the LA area. The staff was wonderful. We were not fully prepared for a motel stay and they were helpful providing some of the things we had missed while packing. The room was very clean and equiped with a microwave and fridge. There was a nice picnic area with tables and little grill where we could sit and enjoy the blue sky. I want to extend a thanks to the staff of this motel. You are working hard to insure the safety of everyone who stays there during the Covid. And are more than welcoming to those of us who were also escaping the smoke and fires. Thank You!

Had a great 3 night stay here while exploring the Alabama Hills. The bed was super comfortable, the room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The room also had blackout drapes, which was key since we slept during the day and stayed out late to photography the Milky Way.

Stopped for the night while road tripping. The front desk staff was very friendly. It was easy to check in. The room was clean. Tv and internet included. Nice view of the mountains. Nice area, happy with their service!

Clean and well maintained. We stayed for three days. I Would have loved it-- if they checked with us like do you want us to change the towels, trash or clean the room, etc.. (which they didn't ) Otherwise good.

Our family stayed one night before a week-long backpack and were happy to see the safety protocols that the Best Western Plus Frontier Motel implemented. These included all workers wearing masks, plexiglass shields between front desk personnel and guests, hand sanitizer in the lobby, and the complimentary breakfast served in packages and per guest instead of a buffet. We found our room and bathroom to be very clean, and relished the memory of them as we backpacked each of the following days. My younger son and husband enjoyed the pool, too. The next time we stay in Lone Pine, we will make our reservation here.

Alecia really made my stay amazing. The booking process was simple, my room was clean and had all the amenities I had requested and the property had beautiful views right at the base of Mount Whitney. I will surely come back and stay here again next time I'm in town

We thought we had found a diamond in the rough, since there are not many quality hotels in this town, but we were disappointed. Check-in was a little creepy with some of the staff ogling my wife, The room was something out of 1982 with worn furniture and carpet and a very noisy wall air-conditioner. I am a Best Western Rewards member, so when they call a hotel a Best Western Plus, you expect something better than a standard Best Western. To be frank, I've stayed at many standard Best Westerns that were much nicer and more modern than this place.

Lone Pine is small so there are not too many options for places to stay but this is a decent one. The first night we stayed there was a bug in 1 bed. Can't confirm it was a bed bug, but can confirm it wasn't a spider or ant... We stayed again 2 nights later (after hiking Mt. Whitney) and the new room had a dead cockroach in it and a bathroom door that wouldn't close all the way. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was included so it provided what we needed.

There are not many options in Lone Pine, and I was a bit nervous as a solo female travelers to stay in a room right net to the highway. The room itself was huge, and the beds very comfortable. However, we did find both a flea and spider in one of the two beds. Luckily it was just one of each.....

If you are scent sensitive, this is NOT the place for you. It was overpowering as soon as we opened the door. My throat was immediately irritated. If it hadn't been so late at night, I would have tried to find another place. Some of the electrical in the room was atypical-perhaps some things had been done by a handyman, as opposed to an electrician. But, there are few options in Lone Pine.

Was staying here with my wife while she was working locally. I got a phone call at 8:30am one morning from the manager frantically asking me to move my vehicle. She asked me why I thought I could park there, to which I replied "the manager told me to park there". She barked back "I'm the only manager!" Sorry, i guess i meant supervisor?? I immediately moved my vehicle without escalating the situation. I thought it was curious because the parking lot was COMPLETELY EMPTY so her frantic tone seemed completely unwarranted. I thought about confronting her but wanted to take the high road since my wife's company booked the rooms for us. Come to find out, she sent a nasty email to my wife's supervisor about our "altercation". Okay, gloves off. Your manager has no business working in a guest relations capacity. She is a hot head snowflake Karen. I'm disgusted that she contacted my wife's employer after I DID EVERYTHING SHE ASKED ME TO DO, PROMPTLY, AND WITHOUT COMPLAINT. I will remove this review if you provide proof that she was fired. You can do better.

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Frontier Motel for a 10-night stint of archaeological fieldwork. The hotel accommodated our entire group for several of these 10-day rotations. I imagine this was helpful to the hotel given the pandemic and the lack of guests, especially on the week nights. The accommodations were fine, nothing fancy, but completely adequate. I did, however, have a very disturbing run-in with the hotel manager after my husband joined me. We had an extra vehicle and I asked the hotel staff working at the front desk where we should park. We parked where we were told and after a few days the manager called our room and yelled at my husband for parking in the spot where we had been directed and where we had been parked for 3 nights already. Rather than yelling at us, the manager should have had a conversation with the staff who provided poor instructions. This is extreme mismanagement and general disrespect of customers. So, while the scenery is beautiful, I would recommend finding a different spot to stay. Quality Inn is right up the street!

While getting ready for bed, we found a spider on the pillow. When we pulled the sheets back, we found gnats and fleas on the sheets. The front desk person came out and said it was a pet friendly room and someone may have had a pet with fleas. No other rooms were available.

I am an artist and my husband and I were in Lone Pine for a couple of days so I could paint the beautiful Sierras. The hotel was clean, comfortable and we had a great view of the mountains from our extra large room. My husband was very happy that we had a large TV with high definition and a big surprise was the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Would definitely stay here again when we come to the area. I hope that will be soon and that all the businesses will be open and thriving in your lovely town.

This was a nice stop for our short stay on our way to and from our destination. Friendly staff. Good value for the price. Rooms need some upgrades. New carpet would be nice. The first room we stayed in was great! The second one not so good, clean but shabby.

For over ten years, my husband and I used to travel twice a year between Lake Tahoe and Palm Springs, with two small dogs - May and December. The door-to-door distance is 500 miles. I am now alone (my husband died )and driving the entire distance by myself is not wise. This sweet little motel is exactly 250 miles away in either direction! Each year we saw continual upgrades in the physical buildings, interiors, etc. The front desk staff has always been helpful and friendly; and though we don't eat the breakfast - giving ourselves the pleasure of the Alabama Hills Cafe, the breakfast they provide is perfect for tourists, mountain climbers, etc. Our favorite restaurant in downtown Lone Pine is the Seasons - one of our semi-annual pleasures was dinner at the Seasons when we arrived, then breakfast at the Alabama Hills Cafe. The motel has always been full - lots of RVs, etc. This time, May 1st, with the coronavirus, there were only four other cars in the parking lot. Broke my heart. The motel is immaculate...I very much hope if you're reading this and driving 395 north or south, you'll give them a try.

Motel was basically empty. due to the Virus. Great motel and we have stayed there many times before when it was available. The "grab & Go Breakfast" was a farce! .....A water+apple+fruit bar? Queen size mattress was somewhat soft for two people?

I stayed during the virus shutdown. The staff were great The room was comfortable and clean and quiet and they don't skip on the amenities. Limited breakfast because of the shutdown. Too cold for the outdoor pool and no exercise facilities. I woke in the morning to find a dozen ants scurrying around my bedside stand. I hadn't put any food on that stand so whatever attracted them must have been there previously. Also found ants in the shower. Reported to the manager, said he take care of it and gave me a small discount.

The lady on reception was very helpful, chatty & friendly. The room was very basic, but had everything and was very clean & comfy. There was drink facilities in the room, but also free tea, coffee & hot chocolate in reception. Breakfast was very nice, good choice, although we didn't like the throw away plates & cutlery.... too much landfill and the plastic knife doesn't cut the bacon!

I arrived late after a long drive and they had perfect accommodations for me and my 2 dogs. The property was clean and comfortable. I loved that they had a separate dog area, that was close to our room, and looked to be well fenced. The staff was so helpful, will definitely return in the future.

We stayed here overnight while on our way up to Mammoth in March 2020. Excellent value for the price. The location (like all of Lone Pine) is just a short drive to the Alabama Hills. The room we stayed in looked recently updated. It looked like they were still in the process of renovating some of the other rooms, but there was no noise or disruption to the rest of the motel from what we experienced. The entire place was immaculately clean! Not just our room, but also the grounds. Kudos to their cleaning crew, as we saw them working on the property the morning we left and they were meticulous. Easy check-in and check-out, and the staff was friendly. Free parking, wifi, and basic breakfast. They had one of those pancake machines, which I love. This property is also pet friendly. We didn't bring our dogs with us for this trip, but will definitely return with them in the future.

BW offers a comfortable room that is convenient to all services. The staff is most helpful and friendly. It is one of the cleanest motels I've stayed in. I love the ole film western/cowboy pictures on the walls. Makes you feel you're really out west.

Based on reviews my wife and I stayed overnight on January 31, 2020 on our way from Reno to Los Angeles. Our room smelled terrible when we walked in and we discovered the smell was coming from the tiny bathroom which had a small window open. The old ventilation fan in the ceiling was broken and the bathroom was so small you could barely turn around. The bath fixtures were showing their age and there was no place to hang a towel or place toiletries next to the single sink. Since it was already late we decided to spray the rooms with Lysol, shut the bathroom door and stay the night since there was a No Vacancy sign out and nowhere else to go. The room with king size bed was old, but OK for one night. Nothing to give it more than 2 or 3 stars. The next morning my wife complained to the desk clerk and who just laughed at her and she told her that she should have come to the front desk and asked to be moved to another room! With the NO VACANCY sign out, how was that an option? On our return we took another route through Tonopah. The Best Western in Tonopah was excellent! What is the Plus in "Best Western Plus" Frontier Motel for, the smell?

Just an overnight stay at this hotel. It is nice that the hotel is pet friendly. It is getting harder and harder to find such a place. Our stay was fine. The rooms and hotel as a whole are a bit dated and dark, but room was nice and quite roomy...no complaints. Breakfast was the typical hotel-type free breakfast. Could have had better selection but was OK. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Lone Pine, I thought Berlin, Maryland was the best little town in America, but Lone Pine will give them a good fight. The restaurant's in this community are world class. Plus, if you have enough time, don't miss the Museum of Western Film History. It's a great take, and everyone who attends has rave reviews. Also, everyone I bumped into seemed so sociable. Very safe community and you can see Mt. Whitney's mountain.

Stayed here while visiting Manzanar Internment Camp. Called an hour before we arrived, and got the last room with a king bed. Very friendly desk staff, fixed a minor problem in the room very quickly. Clean and comfortable room. Pool area, although it was too cold for us to swim. Recommend.

We stayed as a family for one night on our way home from Death Valley and chose to stay in Lone Pine because of its location near the Alabama Hills. This Best Western exceeded our expectations. The room was big so we could unload our car and still have plenty of room to relax in the room. The fridge and microwave were nice (the lobby has a small freezer with emergency frozen dinners for purchase if you're coming in late) and the room had been nicely remodeled. Beds were comfortable. Nice surprise jacuzzi tub. Also, it was surprisingly quiet given that it's on the high way. Maybe being just out of town helps with this? Visitor's Center is just down the road to load up on maps of the area and Death Valley. Finally, the breakfast was a veritable feast of hot and cold options. Family of three enjoyed the spacious room and hearty breakfast for only $90/night. Staff were all friendly!

Great value for money - my huge room was only USD$88! Great views of the mountains. Room was very nice - had a sitting area, huge bed, good tv with cable. Def recommend this hotel. Rooms were very warm as it got cold outside.

Our stay started out with early check-in provided and our expectations continued to be exceeded! Our room was clean and spacious. The whole facility was very clean. Great breakfast too - all for an awesome price!

We enjoyed our overnight stay at the Frontier Motel. We had a nice large room with sitting area. All the rooms are named after Hollywood stars who filmed in the surrounding mountains. We stayed in The Gregory Peck room. The room was clean, breakfast buffet had a good selection and the staff was very attentive.

We stay stay at this hotel every time we travel to this area for business because it is comfortable, great price, and a great location for where we have to be. Breakfast is good, internet it's fast, king size beds are very nice. Rooms are big.

The experience was seamless from a late check in to morning full delicious breakfast. clean quiet room that was in great working condition and has a great fan option on the AC unit to help us sleep. We checked in late and someone was there to help us quickly and efficiently. We asked for a room away from the freeway so it was real quiet. Lots of channels on the cable TV. Shower was hot and consistent temp. They also has shampoo body wash and conditioner in the shower that was citirs smelled great.

Stayed while passing through town. Clean, comfortable. Not the quietest, heard everything in the parking lot when workers started their day at 6 am. Shower head dripped, but told front desk and she got on it quickly when we checked out.

We stayed at the Best Western in Lone Pine, CA. We normally stay there twice a year, but did not make the trip last year, and noticed a big change this time. The carpet in our pet-friendly room was FILTHY -- no excuse for this. The staff had forgotten to plug in the refrigerator, and so it took hours before it was ready to use. The bathroom sink barely drained. The breakfast, which used to be quite good, was lousy by comparison to two years ago. The only saving graces Best Western offered this year were the lady who oversees the breakfast room -- she was fantastic -- and the front desk staff, who were quite helpful. Unless BW ups its game, I will not be staying there again.

POSITIVES: Large spacious attractive comfortable room! Wife loved it. Outstanding bathroom amenities.... Soaps were far above any competitors products, bath towels were huge and very fluffy. Beds were comfortable. And the place was Dog friendly! NEGATIVES: Poor TV selections, excessive heater noise, very poor coffee (undrinkable in our opinion). I still consider this place outstanding and would stay there again!!

Room was large and very clean. Was able to stay with my dogs which is another plus. The breakfast area has a good selection of food and the staff is attentive. Very convenient location with Bishop close and an easy drive to Death Valley. We would definitely stay here again!

I arrived after sundown on a snowy night. Check in was something else. There were 2 girls working the counter and then another man (maintenance?) goofing off with the girls, throwing keys back and forth at one another. Not at all what I expected when I walked into the lobby. My room was clean and quiet. Upon entering the room, it was cold. Fortunately it didn't take too long to warm up. The bed was comfortable and provided a good nights rest. Breakfast was downright awful. Every item that was supposed to be warm or hot was burnt. I did try the eggs, but ultimately threw them away. I ended up at the McDonald's down the road. I would have given this property 5 stars had it not been for the horrible breakfast and the employees goofing off at check in. I would stay here again out of convenience.

Gem of a hotel . Loved the spacious room and clean beds and bathroom. Couldnt believe they had organic soaps, shampoos and conditioner. The room had ample space for family of 4 with 2 grown up kids. The breakfast had many options and food was extremly delecious( 5 stars to their coffee). They had eco friendly plates and bowl.!!The staff was extremly courteous and pleasant. The price according to me was a steal and a bargain.

our two queen room was much bigger than expected, which was much appreciated. the bathroom was small, but looked semi recently renovated, and there was a modest sized walk in closet. hot breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes. kids liked the pancake machine. the servers were very friendly and recommended that we visit alabama hills before we headed out to death valley. overall this is a very affordable, clean place to stay before visiting death valley.

Why is it when a night is stormy that a hotel can seem so good? We got into Lone Pine looking for a place to stay on our way to Death Valley. We found that the Best Western had a good price for a queen bed, clean room and friendly staff. On the later, the lady at the check in found us a good price. The bed was comfortable and there was not much noise, except for a passing semi on 395. The breakfast was eggs, bacon, sausage, bread/pastry (maybe from Alabama Cafe???) along with hot and cold cereal. They had a pancake machine, but it was not working. Would I stay here again? Yes.

We had a very nice room,clean, with great beds and pillows. That's the main reason we always stay at Best Western. Wonderful breakfasts included. A bonus on this visit was the beautiful photograph I captured just before sundown right out behind the hotel.

We stay at this motel every time we visit the Eastern Sierras. The rooms are immaculate with extra amenities, and many are named after famous movie stars that have been filmed in movies in the immediate Lone Pine area. The free breakfast features freshly cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, and hash browns, and is the best free breakfast we have experienced at a roadside motel. There are picnic tables in several convenient locations around the 1st-floor only motel layout. And across the street is a majestic view of Mount Whitney and the Sierra mountain range. This place has it all!

I visit Lone Pine often just to get out of Los Angeles. I've stayed at this hotel on every visit (probably 8 times now). It's immaculately clean, comfortable rooms/bed, great breakfast included, and attentive staff. I work remotely and have visited the hotel midweek sometimes just to focus in on projects: the WiFi is business class and never lets me down. Never mind the that when you wake up and walk out of your room in the morning, you have Mt Whitney hovering over you in all its glory. This place and the surrounding Lone Pine area is a great retreat.

We stopped-in late on a November mid-week evening and were given a very nice room at an affordable price. What a nice surprise! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was nice too (except that they did run out of a few items). We stayed in the Roy Rogers room on the south side of the property.

WE had such a good night it was hard to get up and leave the next morning. Very Very quite first time we have found such a nice Motel and were actually able to sleep through the night without noise. Will stay here again when we come down next fall.

Large but dated room, nice to be able to park up at the door. Friendly check in. Standard breakfast, and good to have re-usable metal cutlery. The property was out of town, so had to drive to restaurants. Room was quiet until a selfish trucker decided to run his engine for 10 mins at 6am, waking around 10 rooms so he could drive off in a warm cab. Selfish b.....

On our group Jeeping adventures in the Lone Pine area we always stay at the BW Plus Frontier Motel. We need to get an early start and the breakfast is hot and ready early. The staff is friendly and courteous.

A great place to stay when exploring the beautiful areas of the east Sierra Nevada Mountain range by Jeep. So much to see and knowing that you are able to return to a nice location at the end of the day is comforting. They also accept your furry travel partners.

Although the motel buildings are a little dated, the rooms at this hotel are well cared for and up-to-date. Good climate control, ie not too hot or too cold and easily controlled. Reasonably well run motel style facility, i.e. drive up to door.

When driving from the Lake Tahoe area down to San Diego, I like to break the long drive up and normally I stay at the B.W. in Bishop. On the way back this time, I decided to try this B.W. due to all the good reviews, and the mention of the incredible view of Mt. Whitney from the pool/lawn area. The view WAS INCREDIBLE. And the breakfast stuff was good; usual suspects (eggs/bacon/yogurt, breads, etc). The staff was friendly, too. That is the good news. As far as a good night's sleep? hmmmm...sort of. This is an old motel, and while there is no one above you, the walls are paper thin and you can hear the people talking/coughing/etc in the room next door. Also, when I stayed here there were many "worker bee" trucks and when they would back up out of their parking space, their truck would make this annoying "beep beep beep" the entire time the truck was backing up. I heard them at 11pm at night, so I put in my ear plugs in order to get a good night's sleep for the drive up to Truckee the next day. At 5:30am, I guess they all left for work as the beeping started again - and I could hear them even with my ear plugs in! I will probably continue to stay at the B.W. in Bishop.

Stayed here for 1 night on a road trip. The hotel is right on Highway 395, close to the Eastern Sierra visitor center, Alabama Hills/Mobius Arch and the main road into Death Valley. Room was basic but clean, parking spot in front of room was very practical. Complimentary breakfast. Good Wifi. A great base for exploring the Eastern Sierra/Death Valley.

We've stayed her before with a small dog; this time no dog and a different room, which was excellent. Layout was good, Heater/ AC better than most motel/hotel units, updated coffee machine with double cup capacity, chair and lamp for reading or tablet work. Overall, very comfortable.

Our trip consisted of 10 days traveling throughput California & this was one of our stops. I wish we could have taken this hotel with us as it was the best we encountered. The beds super comfy. Spacious room. Super clean. Quiet. The setting looking out at the mountains was gorgeous & the staff excellent.

The Best Western Plus Frontier Motel offers very nice, clean rooms south of downtown Lone Pine. The rooms include microwave, television, refrigerator, and wifi. The best part of the hotel is that your parking space is right next to your room door for easy access to unload and pack your car. Staff was friendly. They had a good cooked complimentary breakfast. The hotel also offers maps of places to see in Lone Pine, which helps increase their rating. We recommend this hotel.

After a grueling 18 hour climb of Mt Whitney I wanted a good nites sleep before my 6 hour drive home so I got a room at BW rather than remain at camp and sleep in a tent. The next morning housekeeping knocked on my door just before 8am. Half hour later another housekeeper knocked on my door again. Unable to fall asleep again I just checked out and drove home. All else was fine but waking guests up that early is completely unacceptable.

This Motel served the purpose of being the midway point between traveling for Las Vegas to Yosemite. The Motel has a nice pool which we didn't have time to use. The guest room was satisfactory in appearance, comfort, and amenities.

We reserved three rooms at the BW Plus Frontier and it was a pleasant stay .... great check in and check out service, clean pet-friendly rooms, each room has an assigned parking space in front of the room so as to avoid jostling for parking, good selection for complimentary breakfast, large pool and outdoor seating, launderette, etc ... and best of all a great spot on view of Mt Whitney. We rarely stop overnight in Lone Pine, but would return when we do!

Drove from Vegas to Lone Pine via Death Valley Clean and tidy. Adequate room and facilities. Usual American breakfast included in the room rate..... not a big selection but ok. The coin laundry was my best friend after 10 days on the road. Room was clean and fresh. Decor whilst not to my taste was also clean apart from old carpet. Pleasant outdoor area with grass and tables to sit at. Staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you.

This is a terrific location. I was a little concerned when I got my room because it fronted the main road, Hwy 395. I needed sleep before a long hike early the next morning, and worried that would be impossible with the highway traffic outside my window. The room turned out to have enough soundproofing to make this a non-issue. I rested well, and checked out early for the hike up Mt. Whitney. I'd gladly stay here again on my next trip to/through town. Excellent accommodations and friendly staff.

We had to change the reservation at the last minute to add a night and arrive early and cancel the last night. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Excellent breakfast in the morning. The room was clean and nice.

We've stayed a couple of times at the Best Western in Lone Pine. It is affordable and clean with a very friendly staff and incredible location. We will be coming back to stay at the BW since Lone Pine is a great destination spot for doing lots of day trips into the Sierras.

Was quite pleased with our stays at several Best Westerns in California and Utah. Pools were always nice and they offered complimentary warm breakfast. Staff was able to provide me gluten free options from the breakfast menu.

My husband and I stayed at this location as we needed accommodations both before and after a day hike to Mt. Whitney. It was a recommendation by the hikingguy.com and it didn't disappoint! The customer service amazing and the check-in/check-out very efficient, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was great! We got to sit in the dining area and eat breakfast while looking out the window and looking at Mt. Whitney in awe as we had made our first summit the day before. I highly recommend this venue if you need a place in Lone Pine- it won't disappoint!

This Best Western was located at the edge of Lone Pine, a nice setting - quiet, a caring staff, and a central pool. They had a typical well-stocked BW breakfast. The room was a good size, and the bed was very comfortable.

The BW Lone Pine is right on 395 - really easy to find. The property is like the "motor lodges" of the past, but the rooms are clean and modern. Breakfast was great, with an option to eat outside near the pool. We'll definitely stay here again.

Our room was large and spacious and very clean. When my boyfriend needed a cleaning cloth to dry his car, Maximo (our housekeeper) generously gave him one. We enjoyed the Direct TV in the room. Right off Hwy 395 so it was very convenient for us.

As far as motel experiences, this was our best ever. The staff is very pleasant and nice. Genuine and helpful. The two rooms we had were comfortable, especially the bed. The breakfast was the standard Inn/Motel fare, BUT, the hot items were perfectly prepared and maintained hot. Clean and well maintained rooms and grounds. A very very pleasant surprise for a one night stop. Thank you BW Frontier!

Pd. $140 (incl tax) for a Sunday night end of July. Hotel is right on Hwy 395 but a ways from restaurants further north in town. They've taken an old motor inn and updated it. Parking spaces are at your door and numbered. Get a room on the ground floor unless you want to take suitcases up stairs. Very small bathroom, and small shower stall, but thick/fluffy towels. Room was clean and king bed was comfy. Room was fine but just a 1 night stopover on our road trip to Lake Tahoe. On our way back home, we stayed in Ridgecrest CA (about 15 mins off Hwy 395) at a Quality Inn on a Friday night and had a little better room for only $100 (incl tax)...so I think this BW is a little overpriced. Don't have any recommendations for other hotels in Lone Pine, since this was our only stay. Bummer that it was so far to restaurants. Too far to walk in the heat. Pool was popular. Front desk clerk was very helpful and nice. Across Hwy 395 you get a good view of Mt. McKinley.

We arrive at night, around 9 pm, with relatively low expectations especially upon arrival when we realized the single story Motel, not Hotel, buildings. I know, the name says "Motel". The front desk staff was nice & friendly, the room clean and updated, and location great for a quick look at Mount Whitney and a few short hikes around the area or for the big climb. If we return to this area, we would stay here again.

Parking is reserved for specific rooms, but not all rooms. Be aware of parking in someone elses space. The reaction was not pleasant by the staff. Your room may not have a designated space. You may not be notified of the policy at checkin.

Stopped for one night with our family whilst on a road trip. Lovely big rooms and comfy beds and having a pool to cool down with was a bonus. Only drawback would be the breakfast is a little average. If you're wanting to eat out in Lone Pine most places close at 9pm

this motel was an authentic reminder of classic western americana. tasteful and not overdone a great roadside motel. a great lawn to relax and watch the mountains. more than a bed but short of a resort

Large rooms friendly staff and overall nice place. Fitness center is below par, and the pancake machine needs fixed but overall a good place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very large and clean.

This is our second stay at this motel. The first time we stayed in room named after John Wayne. It was fine. This time we stayed in room 136, the two mattresses are old without proper support. We ended up with back aches in the morning and a restless sleep. The carpet looks old, frazzled and dirty. Breakfast ran out early, and had to wait for the next refill. We instead escaped to a restaurant down the street for breakfast. The rest is average for a small town motel.

I am speculating that BW took over an older motel and did renovations. The bathroom looks nice initially but when you look closely., the grout and chaulking is poor workmanship. This place will have major water damage in the near future. The doors appear to be from the original motel- very bad shape. The rug needs to be steam cleaned or replaced. On the positive sides, the bathroom is huge. Depending on your stride, it takes me 5 or 6 steps to go from the sink to the bath. The air conditioner works great. The furnishings are in good order. They do offer hot breakfast starting at 5am. The first morning, there was no coffee since the night person had no idea how to put the machine back together. They offer scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausages and bacon. You can make your own pancakes. On the second day of my stay, coffee was available. You have your own parking space which matches your room number which is a nice feature especailly when you come late, there is a parking spot near your room.

Easy access to Mt Whitney. Hve stayed in the past and would recommend this place anyone or everyone. Great resting spot to visit all the local sites. The staff have always been friendly and polite and would request that they all keep up the good work.

This is a park outside your door type of motel. We reserved a king room and in the online photo there was a table and two chairs. The room we were given did not have this amenity and the location was not as requested either. The problem was solved once we pointed this out and we were given a room with a table and chairs farther off the road. The second room had a much smaller (tiny) bathroom. We were comfortable enough for one night and the property was will kept, the room was clean and the stars at night were amazing.

Easy check in and check out. Hotel is half a mile from downtown where there are numerous restaurants. Plenty of parking and you park right in front of your room. There is a an outdoor pool and an area set up with chairs to sit. Room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom clean. Breakfast had a wide assortment of hot and cold items. This is a great place to spend the night.

This has been a recurring location for my family and I to stay at. It's located on the edge of Lone Pine with outstanding views of the mountains. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The rooms are quiet. Very quiet. We've been here multiple times when all the rooms are packed and you pretty much don't hear a thing. The showers come with shampoo, body wash, and conditioner from dispensers on the wall; they smell great. This location is pet friendly and they don't charge you a fee unless your pet soils the rug or damages the furniture. All rooms come with newly installed fiber optic internet. Unfortunately I couldn't find a direct connection for my laptop, however I was getting 120 Mbps Download and 120 Mbps Upload (which seems to have been upgraded from 50 down and 50 up) through the wifi. This really only applies to you tech guys or those of you that like to upload your photos or stream movies. Breakfast is from 5-10am (I believe). They serve pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and the other typical continental breakfast fare (sorry no packaged danishes though). The breakfast staff is awesome. They will make sure you have everything you need and even go grab things for you if you forgot something. The room is decorated with old western movie memorabilia relevant to the town of Lone Pine. Sitting in the main room also gives you great views of the mountains while you eat. After breakfast the room stays open for those who want coffee or some other types of drinks 24 hours a day. Overall this place is fantastic. This has been my family's go-to spot anytime we come to the Eastern Sierras. We have always had a great experience here.

Sort of retro, but well cared for. Nice room, clean. Breakfast was excellent, staff was courteous and efficient. Quiet location on south end of town. Pool looked nice, but it was too cool while we were there to use.

Not a lot to choose from in this area but this is the best place to stay in Lone Pine. A bit more expensive than others but quiet, clean, well kept, pool, view, breakfast, nice staff. Parking in back for vehicles with trailers. Usually fully booked so plan ahead.

This the third time that I have stayed here in the past year. The rooms are clean and have comfortable beds and pillows. The desk staff and the breakfast staff have always been friendly and professional. I will stay here again in the future.

My wife and I came here mainly to visit the Alabama Hills. So I picked this motel, since we try to stay at Best Western when feasible. This is a pretty compact facility, and parking is pretty tight, but all spaces are assigned to your room, so there is no quibbling with anyone, unless they got your space, which was not a problem. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable enough unless you plan on spending your whole day there. Breakfast was pretty good. One thing I will add is that the cleaning service worked like robots. We stayed 3 days, and every day, every item in the room was there, and right were it should be. Good job on that. One observance is that there are a good number of military jets overhead, much of the time. Hard to see but easy to hear.

Great clean hotel with a beautiful view of the Alabama Hills. It was the perfect location for us between our drive through Death Valley and Yosemite National Park. And getting a complimentary breakfast was a fabulous bonus.

We do 395 from San Diego to Reno twice a year and we stay at the BW without fail. We usually get two adjoining rooms for a friend who travels with us since we are "caravaning". We have dogs and my husband drives the truck with trailer and they accommodate us (he finds parking on the premises, which is important to us) and making it easier to safely overnight. The room is totally fine (considering that it is used as a dogroom) and everything works (almost, the soap supplies in the shower are all empty and can make you hopping around bucknaked and wet looking for soap). Breakfast is reasonable good and everything you might want is there (please better coffee) that is a big plus when you want to move on and get on the road again. All in All a very good value and convenient. Plus the beautiful view of the Sierra and mt. Whitney. Wonderful in the early morning.

We stayed here for one night while driving from LA to Las Vegas via Death Valley. Lone Pine is a small town in the middle of nowhere so it is not right to compare this motel with other Best Western Hotels in larger cities. The motel is situated in the most amazing position and the views of the mountains are spectacular.There is very litte accommodation in Lone Pine but this motel was perfect for an overnight stay. Although slightly old, the room was a good size, very clean and comfortable. We had good air conditioning, fridge and Internet connection.The motel also offers use of a small fitness room and outside swimming pool. The breakfast was fine. We would have liked more variety of fresh fruit but perhaps it is difficult to get these ingredients due to the remote position of the motel. The breakfast room was a little on the basic side and I expect the paper plates are to cut down on the washing up. The only negatives were that the lady on reception when we arrived was not too friendly and the swimming pool was not open. We were looking forward to a swim after a long drive in very hot weather. However, we would recommend this motel for a relaxing overnigt stay.

Overpriced motel with a rude desk clerk! Oh, by the way, if you have a larger pickup or anything larger you will have a heck of a time even getting through the parking lot moreover squeezing it between two other vehicles! NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!

Stayed here for one night on my way to Death Valley. Cold time of year (February) and the room was freezing when I entered. The room heater did warm it up after around half an hour, but was too noisy to keep on all night. However, the bathroom had no heater and an old tile floor, felt like stepping into a fridge to use the loo and take a shower, most uncomfortable! Breakfast was not tasty, scrambled egg like rubber, soggy potatoes and low grade concentrated fruit juice. The staff were friendly so I wish I could write a more positive review, but this really isn't a comfortable hotel. In effect a 50's motel with a mild makeover. How it achieved BW 'Plus' status is beyond me.

Located on the south side of Lone Pine. Single story hotel with buildings arranged around a landscaped garden with pool. Outside corridors with room windows facing the corridor which requires drapes to be closed for privacy. Rooms well maintained, with refrigerator, microwave, wi-fi, accessible electrical outlets,good lighting. Very quiet room temperature control unit which recirculates room air. Window opens for fresh air. Hotel is adjacent to US395 so there is some traffic noise. Spacious breakfast room with a moderate assortment of hot and cold items. There are no restaurants nearby. Front desk staff was efficient and friendly.

Everything was just perfect. The room was sparkling clean and the bed was so comfortable. The towels were like brand new! The breakfast was very delicious and the view was unforgettable! Loved every minute we spend there!

We booked 2 Queens and the hotel room was nice, clean, updated, with a nice whirlpool. It was also dog friendly with a gorgeous view of Mt Whitney. We stopped here on our way to Mammoth Lakes. The breakfast was very good too! Nice value! We would book again!

A decent stay. Room was clean but dated. The room was dark and you could see light under the door. The breakfast was average but the helper was the highlight our our stay. We had a wonderful conversation about the Alabama Hills and she showed us a picture in the next room and pointed out all types of hidden shapes. The view of the mountains was amazing.

This is a great half way stop between our home in Tahoe and our Family and businesses in Southern Cal. We like to stop here to enjoy the morning views of Mt Whitney and to enjoy a great steak at our favorite Steak House (Seasons Restaurant). This time was no exception the meal and the views were both great as well as the nice service at the Hotel

In a small town like Lone Pine with limited options, this BW hotel is a good choice. I would not compare this to hotels in larger cities because it wouldn't be fair to expect top notch accommodations in such a small town. As an overnight stay, it is acceptable. I would stay again.

We frequently drive the beautiful Hwy 395 corridor. An overnight stay in Lone Pine divides our drive. The Frontier Best Western is a comfortable place to stay. The rooms of an old motel continually receive upgrades; the property continues to be well cared for; and, the staff provides good service.

The hotel was clean and in a great location for seeing the mountain range. The Alabama Hills nearby are a fun place to explore. The room was large and comfortable. There was a whirl pool tub in the bathroom that was dated but worked well.

Really cute with a Western film feel with every room named after a character or movie. Western Museum right across the street too. Great view of Death Valley entrance and Mt Whitney. Great value! We were so pleasantly surprised.

We moved from another hotel down the street to this location. It's much nicer than the "other" place in pretty much all respects. It's where I'll stay again if I'm not camping in Lone Pine. Rooms were clean, modern, and quiet. The staffbin the breakfast area were super friendly too.

Wonderful place to stay! Large updated room was well appointed and very comfortable. Linens were nice, and breakfast was delicious. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The town was quaint and the scenery was beautiful. Highly recommend. Great location!

Stayed one night on our way north, and had a very restful quiet night. Hotel is clean and staff are outgoing and friendly. Good breakfast to get us on our way the next morning. Incredible scenery! I would recommend to anybody passing through or staying in the area for recreation.

This hotel was clean and tidy and breakfast was good. Good location for the many things to do in the area. Mt Whitney can be seen from the hotel. The hotel was a very good value. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on a California Road trip. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious. The toiletry products (citrus) smelled lovely and left my hair silky smooth. Breakfast was very good for an inclusive option, and the view of the mountains was breathtaking. Would stay again.

We stayed here for an extended weekend to use a base to explore Death Valley. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and had a microwave and fridge. The daily breakfast was hot and had a very good selection. Staff was very nice. I can't think of one negative thing to say! Great place in Lone Pine! We would definitely stay here again!

We have stayed in Lone Pine at this Best Western both times coming to Death Valley, and will always stay there when we go. The Motel is very clean and nice and the bed is very comfortable ater driving. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great staff provided excellent customer service. Room was pristine and very comfortable. Breakfast choices included, many food and beverage choices both hot and cold. Lots of bang for my buck. Will definately be returning for all future stays in Lone Pine .

Have stayed here many times over the years, best motel in Lone Pine ! They are always are upgrading and all of my family members stay at this motel and I always am happy at any Best Western ! They serve a very nice breakfast with all that you could want to start your day. the staff always friendly and quick with anything you need.

IF you are travelling up or down the historic/scenic Hwy 395 the ONLY place to stay in the BEST WESTERN PLUS FRONTIER MOTEL!!! We have stayed up and down the 395 twice a year for over a decade and NOW will NEVER stay any place else. From check in, to the rooms, to housekeeping and the COMP breakfast; GM Travis Powell has an all-star team running his four-decade plus family owned business. Trust me...you'll never stay any place else again in the area; once you have spent a little time at this gem of the Eastern Sierras!!! Cheers PS. The room was neither small nor large, just average for a "road hotel", but it was ok with a refrigerator and microwave oven. The breakfast was ok and the staff very kind. I recommend it. To the west you have the Sierra Nevada and its breathtaking sight. The weather is cold in winter, we arrived at the hotel at around 6pm and it felt like was 25F.

makes for a good half way stop. Very friendly staff, clean & quiet. Also all one level no stairs to climb. Close to the Western Movie Museum, walking distance to food also. It is easy to find right on 395 as you come in to Lone Pine from the south.

I've stayed at the Frontier Motel several times and it is always just right. Location is convenient to Mt. Whitney and other Owens Valley activities. The motel is very clean, there is a fridge and microwave, also very clean. Comfy bed. Checking in and out is a snap. Parking right in front of your room in the "motor lodge" mode, which really is so convenient. Views of the eastern Sierra and the Inyo Mountains from the property (and some rooms) are unreal. It snowed in both mountain ranges overnight during this stay. We woke up to the most fantastic snow-covered mountains. Wow, wow, wow!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Lone Pine! Rooms were clean, staff was attentive, and breakfast was great! Highly recommend this hotel! Its always a great stop on the way to Mammoth, the staff is local and knows all the cool places to see in and around the area.The check in was quick and the rooms are always clean and easy to access.

The breakfast absolutely blew me away. The selection was phenomenal - from pancakes to eggs to rosemary hashbrowns and so much more. There was hot coffee, tea, flavoured iced coffee, juice, etc. Yogourt, apples, oranges, grapefruit - I've never seen anything like it. The food was fresh and delicious. The breakfast room was clean, homey and comfortable. The breakfast staff are friendly, attentive and take sincere pride in making guests happy.

My party arrived late in Lone Pine and checked in after a late night dinner. Kim was on the front desk and she was FANTASTIC!!! She quickly checked us in, accommodated our request for a 4am wake up call, told us how to use the "rapid checkout" process and told us there was hot coffee 24 hrs. & that she liked to have breakfast ready by 4:30am even though the hours were from 5am to 11am. We booked this overnight stay having been here once before which was a great trip as well. So, waking up and running to the lobby to grab a coffee only to find that breakfast was ready early as she said it would be, quickly checked us out and off we went. Later that day, we were back in Lone Pine, stopped by for a coffee, restroom stop and directions and the two women on the front desk were so incredibly helpful and welcoming as was Kim. Definitely a great place to stay!!

Most comfortable bed ever! Everyone was very friendly, we have zero complaints.We were given a great suggestion for dinner since the town is small, had the most amazing ribs! The hotel had a number of Caltrain workers there that were up and out very early in the morning, their trucks made a lot of noise backing up and one set off their alarm so needless to say they woke us up, no fault on the hotel though.

First time ever seeing a rotating shower head. Pretty cool! About my stay. Amenities that I like: Sink/vanity separate from the bathroom. Microwave/min-fridge. Great wifi. All rooms are ground level. Clean, safe and comfortable. Since I traveled a long distance to arrive at this destination at 5am this morning, they allowed an extra hour for my check-out. I would definitely stay here again.

I had the pleasure to be a guest at the Lone Pine Best Western for 2 weeks on business. The staff is great, professional and helpful. The 2 girls that set up the breakfast are so nice!! They bring sunshine to the eating area at 5 AM! So upbeat and pleasant. They treated me like I was in a restaurant. They have a such a great warm smile on and have such a wonderful attitude. I'll be back! Thanks guys!!

This is an older Road Trip style motel but greatly improved and modernized. I like parking at your door and not having to drag luggage into elevators and such. Breakfast was above average. The view of Mt Whitney and the surrounding mountains is priceless. Our room was way in the back and never heard any road noise.

The Best Western Frontier Motel in Lone Pine is pretty much the perfect package. There really isn't much more you can ask for in a motel. Lone Pine is a beautiful little city and the motel is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges. The rooms are clean and has all the amenities of a traditional hotel with the added bonus of fiber optic internet (for those of you that are tech dependent and need actual high speed internet). The hot water is hot, the air conditioner and heater work nicely, and the rooms are incredibly quiet (we never hear our neighbors). They also allow pets which is a huge added bonus for my family. There is a full breakfast included every morning that include items such as pancakes, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, as well as many more traditional breakfast fare. The eating area is nicely maintained and also has a nice view of the mountains. The staff is incredible. Every single staff member I interacted with was pleasant and polite. They made sure to go out of their way to make sure you were enjoying your stay.My overall experience with this Best Western has always been excellent. It's why I stay here multiple times throughout the year.

toilet didn't work, lights in washroom did not work, heater was noisy and woke us up several times during the night, breakfast was only so- so. I was disappointed that it was a Best Western Plus and I am starting to consider becoming a visitor at another hotel chain.

Good little motel an hour away from Death Valley. Basic room. Good internet service. Bed was comfortable. Food in town was good. Breakfast was available early (a great plus!) but quality was so so. Overall we were quite satisfied.

We stayed at this motel about 10 years ago for a photography workshop - they have certainly upped their game. The rooms were nicely decorated, and very comfortable for two people with a lot of gear. After a week in a national park, we were giddy about the speed and ease of access of the internet. The staff we very friendly and accommodating when we arrived early, and our plans changed at the last minute. We stay in Best Western's when traveling for leisure, and this is one of the nicest properties we've stayed in. We are already planning our next trip to Lone Pine, and will definitely stay here again.

After reviewing TA, we decided to stay here for a stay before heading to LV through Death Valley NP. It was a good choice, hotel is very simple, clean, good service and at highway. Nice view to Alabama Hills, we could manage to visit it as it was so close.

Very nice, great room large bath room, nice furniture bed ect. A very nice self serv breakfast included. Pool ...in warmer weather. Ten minute drive to Alabama hills. All room ground floor. Locates south end of town, five minute drive to downtown.

Convenient location, great value, helpful staff, clean room, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, great value. Would stay again without a doubt. Did I mention the soft towels? My wife can't stop talking about them.

This chain is all over the map as to quality of various properties in their portfolio This one was a pleasant surprise . Definitely a 1980's type room but bed and pillows were excellent and heating worked great Even wi- fi was more than adequate. For such a small town- a very nice place to stay

My wife and I go to Lone Pine every year on Thanksgiving and stay at the Best Western Plus Frontier Motel. Without a fault the staff has ALWAYS been courteous and helpful,check in and out is always a breeze. The rooms are clean and furnished with fridge,microwave and coffee maker. We are early risers so the early breakfast (5 AM start) works great for us. The motel breakfast has pancakes,eggs,potatoes,bacon,sausage along with hot/cold cereals,yogurt etc. etc. This is a great place to stay and we will continue to stay here.

Stayed here with a large group and had a nice visit. Staff very professional and accommodating. Bed was really comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good and great service from the staff. We would stay here again.

I visit Lone Pine several times a year on business and I have stayed here all but once (where I was forced to stay at another hotel). My experience has always been nothing less than stellar and I will NEVER stay anywhere else. The friendly staff and the comfortable rooms, bring me back time after time. Now, I'll choose no other hotel when staying in Lone Pine.

Stayed for one night whilst travelling from Yosemite to Las Vegas as Lone Pine is located about half way through the trip and close to the entrance to Death Valley. Stayed here based on TA reviews and were pleased we did. Lone Pine is a small town with limited hotel options but a pleasant place to spend the night. The hotel is slightly out of the town and you will need to drive about 5 mins to the restaurants for dinner as this hotel does not have a restaurant. Although the hotel is located on a busy main road I asked for a room in as quiet a spot as possible which we were given, (thank you), and had a very peaceful stay and a good nights sleep. Our room looked like it had recently been refurbished and was comfortable with everything you would need for a short visit including HBO on the TV, coffee maker etc. The included breakfast was very good with hot items and some really lovely muffins. Staff were on hand to help with anything you needed including instructions on how to operate the waffle and pancake makers. Breakfast started early so we were soon on the road again for the next part of our road trip feeling rested and full.

Never have I been treated so rudely at a motel.during the check-in process.Otherwise: this is a very clean motel, with up to date rooms that are spacious and comfortable, WIFI that is probably the most reliable and quick that I have experienced at a motel, well located and easy to find, easy to use and efficient heating/AC system, very nice breakfast buffet.

We were leading a Jeeping group and had an early start time, so the 5:30 AM start for breakfast was a big help getting us out on the trails on time. Breakfast has a good selection of items, great choices for everyone in our group.

This is a classical motel with a plain vanilla room, perfectly comfortable but with a very small bathroom. The breakfast is ok, everything is plastic although the staff were very obliging. Coffee was good. For an overnight transit it's fine and looks like the best available

I go to the Lone Pine Film Festival every year in Lone Pine, California and this hotel has excellent staff, rooms, and breakfasts! I hightly recommend this place. Super great mattresses, too!!! I love this place - great pool as well.

This best western is in the style of the usual roadside motels you see in America. We used it as a stop over during our road trip and thought it was quite pricey but we used best western hotels for most of our trip finding them to be clean and with good facilities for the most part. The breakfast was excellent and the lady working there (Lydia I think) was particularly keen to ensure our needs were met and made for a very cheerful start to the day. We arrived late and left early so can't comment much but the room was large and clean. The bathrooms need updating but otherwise we were very happy with the night's sleep.

Clean, single story hotel with an outstanding breakfast buffet. Very comfortable bed. Large bathroom. I woke up early to photograph Mt. Whitney through the Mobius Arch at sunrise. Awesome! I returned to have breakfast in their spacious dining area. I would definitely return.

We stopped here overnight on our road trip. Last stop before Vegas we needed a good sleep and decent breakfast. Our check in with Patrica went as planned, not the happiest receptionist, but checked on regardless. Once in our room, we found everything clean and as it should be. The room and the complex is a little tired, however it is all very clean. Breakfast was fresh and made entertaining by a little old Greek lady, whom got the canteen interacting! We weren't disappointed by this Motel, we got exactly what we paid for and expected. If you want 5 star, you have to pay for it!

What a nice experience. The small town feel with the nice comforts of city life. I love the view from the courtyard especially once you have climbed Mt Whitney. Puts it all into perspective. W will come back again.

This hotel has a few modern features and some good facilities. The pool is great although too cold for me. There is free WiFi. Parking at your door and a buffet breakfast on offer. The room was spacious and well laid out with a large TV and bathroom sink outside of the shower/toilet area (always a good idea). Free ice was plentiful and they offered towels for the pool also. However the lady that checked us in was not in a customer service frame of mind. We couldn't crack a smile and even when I asked for directions to the infamous movie flat road (which she did give me), there was no enthusiasm. The next morning I found a stand full of helpful maps to that very landmark in the lobby, which would have been so helpful when I asked. Never mind, the receptionist in the morning was much more excited about her job. Our bed wasn't my cup of tea either but there were good blockout drapes. The air-con took a long time to cool down and was noisy, also the shower pressure was weak. But the view of My Whitney and surrounds was stunning.

Very nice hotel with themed hotel rooms. Outdoor barbecue and sitting area. Nice pool. Continental breakfast included. Parking is ok but finding your room at night is difficult due to poor lighting and numbers too small.

We've stayed here several times on our way from Vegas through Death Valley. It's the perfect spot with a lovely view of Mount Whitney. The pool is perfect at the end of a days drive. This time we did notice people using the pool who were not hotel guests and they were extremely noisy which spoiled our stay as we left the pool area earlier than normal. I think the rooms need a bit of a makeover as they are very dark and gloomy now. Always a good breakfast.

Nice clean motel with awesome views of the Alabama range with a view of Mt. Whitney right across the road from where this motel is situated. #1- Personnel at front desk, morning breakfast service and maintenance were all helpful and friendly. #2- Room and bathroom was clean with a whirlpool tub we didn't have a chance to use. Queen beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Quiet setting and we slept well. #3- Breakfast service was the usual choices, I liked their pancake making machine. There are large windows to look out and Mt. Whitney is the main view! #4- Had dinner at local restaurant and other dining options and businesses aren't too far from this location. It was a very short visit but all in all a great comfortable stay.

Just what we needed after a grueling hike up and down Mount Whitney. Rooms and bed were very comfortable. Excellently clean. Bathroom had frosted windows, which I like with the morning sunlight. Tiny porch area with fantastic views of the mountain. You can tell the owner(s) are generous and put a lot of pride in their place. Amazing breakfast and beautiful dining area with more wonderful views of Mount Whitney. I enjoyed the Western theme memorabilia. The breakfast area attendant was so amazing; she should get a raise! Her cheerful attentiveness to the guests made my experience above and beyond. (I regret not asking her name; she says she draws a smily face with a squiggly line on her hand and choose to focus on the happy side, not the sad side.) This place was quite generous with their foods, hospitality, and comfort, and I will definitely be staying here again when I visit the mountains.

This is a very friendly hotel with great wide parking in front of each room so easy access to unload luggage and and have easy fast access at any time. The hotel is set up with good access to pools, ice and breakfast area and lobby. All one level so no one above. Great beds and cable service.

This hotel is comfortable & clean, with a great self serve buffet breakfast. The rooms are quiet and have good air conditioning. The shower had adequate pressure (when you could figure out the strange flight stick-like control for it). Great pool in the middle of the complex. Only criticism is that the rooms are incredibly tired and 70's: but I'm guessing that is part of its "thing" or charm.

Came across this hotel on TripAdvisor after looking for somewhere to stay in Lone Pine. The rooms were big and clean and hotel had good amenities. The breakfast which was included was also a great add on. The only negative was that although it was only half a mile from town centre, the was no path on the busy road and it was very hot. There is no restaurant at the hotel apart from breakfast. Would definately recommend this hotel and would go back if in Lone Pine.

This was my second stay here. Last time was September 2018. The room was 100% cleaner than in 2018. Kudos to the housekeeping team. We hiked Whitney and the hot shower, warm bed and comforts of home after such a grueling climb were incredible.

a great location. the room was what you expected. I was worried about whether we would get disturbed sleep from being in a motel. but I was proven wrong. We had the best night sleep for a while and didn't get disturbed once. would recommend for the sleep but everything is is as you see on the webiste.

In the 'middle of nowhere' is this great motel - just far enough from the town to be quiet and truly only a few blocks from some tasty restaurants and easy commute to Mt. Whitney. The staff was polite, helpful and very accommodating. Our room was 'roomy', comfortable, and the beds had us sleeping like babies. I would recommend staying here to anyone passing through or in the vicinity for the recreation opportunities. I know I'll be back.

Great value motel. Clean, spacious rooms. Laundry facilities. Friendly staff. Breakfast included. Much better than rexpected. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it for a short stay. The only negative is that it doesn't serve dinner and although you can walk the Mike into town, there are no paths on the busy road.

Have stayed at the Frontier most years for the last 12. Have always had clean, nicely kept rooms. Service has always been very courteous and quick, even during late nights. Breakfast has alwaysbeen very good.

Ground floor motel style allowing you to park outside your room - and the parking bays are very spacious. Clean room. Good swimming pool Convenient location on the main street. Good breakfast choices.

We liked the Best Western in Lone Pine. The pool area was nice, and the outside picnic tables were also a great feature. Plus, the breakfast layout and options were above average. However, our room was closest to the road, so road noise was an issue at night. We had to sleep with the tv on to drown it out. Any other room, and this hotel would be a four star stay. We would come back, but would ask for a room towards the back.
