Description

If you’re looking for a place to stay in London, the Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel offers the best of both worlds. In a pleasant residential area near Regents Park, you’ll enjoy peace and quiet during your stay. Yet with London’s countless attractions just a few minutes away, the sights and sounds of the capital are never far away. This elegant Victorian townhouse is full of character and fascinating objets d’art, which add a unique charm to the hotel – including a grand piano, oil paintings and antique furniture. You can be sure your stay here will be memorable for all the right reasons. Our hotel is right next to Swiss Cottage tube station and just a few minutes from the West End by tube or bus. The Jubilee line links us directly to Lord's cricket ground, Madam Tussauds, Oxford Street, Big Ben, Wembley arena and many other attractions - so you'll spend more time deciding where to go than you will getting there. There are lots of convenient bars, bistros and brasseries around the hotel and for these reasons we have no restaurant for lunch or dinner. Instead, we provide a pleasant breakfast room that serves a range of cooked and continental items to give you the energy boost you need for a day of sightseeing.

Fantastic staff Super helpful Perfect setting.chris made stay super easy by allowing us to check in earlier than normal Lovely twin room, comfortable, lovely sitting room. Bags were also able to be left which made our Sunday check out day less stressful

"Well appointed and convenient"
E2879GXveronicaa, 20 Février 2024

Good value and location. Close to Swiss Cottage station and shops. The hotel is in a period residence and has been well looked after. Rooms are a good size, clean and quiet. Breakfast available. Room info indicated they had an international charger which they do not.

"The best hotel staff in London"
WelshieG, 19 Février 2024

Very welcoming staff who went above and beyond to make our stay an enjoyable one. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, including a hairdryer. It was incredibly helpful to be able to leave our luggage securely at the hotel after checking out and collect it later in the day. I highly recommend this hotel.

"Great location for West End trip"
safarimum, 29 Janvier 2024

Weekend away with bestie to catch a show and this hotel had a good deal. Was so easy to get in and out of town from here and the hotel itself is 2 mins from swiss cottage station yet in a quiet residential area.

"Clean, effecient and close to tube"
stevedurham2, 29 Janvier 2024

Clean - easy to find - use exit 2 from tube station - we checked in beforehand as requested by email and "just collected key card" on arrival. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Staff were around if needed but not intrusive which is exactly how we like it - don't worry if we have a problem we will find you is our attitude!!

"Great local and great value for money"
Jonny W, 26 Janvier 2024

I love this hotel. Its right outside Swiss Cottage station on the Jubilee line, so easy to get to from anywhere. Always clean and tidy with friendly staff, good TVs and comfortable beds. The breakfast is also very good for the price range. I also love that you can sleep with the windows open and not get disturbed, its a very quiet area. I work in the hotel industry and have stayed in a lot of hotels in London over the years and I would say pound for pound i.e. what you get for what you pay, I cannot think of anywhere that beats it

"Lovely hotel in a perfect location"
FalmouthLucy, 07 Janvier 2024

"Conveniently located, yet in quiet surroundings"
masakitakeda93, 25 Septembre 2023

Only a few stops from central London on the tube and a couple of minute walk from the station is this hotel housed in town houses in the quiet neighbourhood of Swiss Cottage, completely detached from the hustle and bustle of a big city. Nothing special, but the room was large enough, clean and had everything you would need. A hearty breakfast for a good start of the day.

"Great, pretty hotel at Regent's Park"
melindamanfai, 19 Septembre 2023

From the minute we (my father and myself) arrived I felt that I had chosen the best possible hotel for our one-week London stay: very quiet, pretty street just a minute walk away from the underground by which within 30 minutes we could reach anywhere we wanted to go. The hotel is in a late 19th c. building, very pretty inside and outside, very helpful stuff, the greatest breakfast to start the day with, light, comfortable rooms, very good wifi!!! Plus, for us, the price for it all was a lot friendlier than many other hotels we had checked. I can only recommend it to everyone!

"Great hotel"
Adrian S, 10 Septembre 2023

As others have said, a bit worn around the edges but it's a great little place, just a few yards from swiss cottage underground station, fabulous staff , fabulous breakfast, fabulous room (stayed in a superior one) , can't fault it, the staff will do everything they can to help

"Fantastic service"
aeyeington, 17 Août 2023

Traditional hotel which though may be a little dated provides excellent service. Hotel throughout extremely clean. Friendly, approachable and efficient staff. Great selection of quality food at breakfast. Located extremely close to the underground making travel around London effortless.

"Charming in Camden"
krlynn, 15 Août 2023

Stay in a townhouse built in 1845 in a beautiful neighborhood next to the underground and shopping? Yes please! Add a wonderful front desk person named Ian who answered all my tourist questions and you have the perfect place to stay. It's quirky and quiet and very convenient. Highly recommend.

"Very enjoyable stay "
june008, 18 Juillet 2023

We have stayed here a few times but it's many years ago since our last visit . However despite this , we received a very warm welcome from Ian on reception who went out of his way to ensure we had a lovely overnight stay . We were unfortunately let down at last minute with a show we were attending but he recommended a great alternative and was always on hand to advise about travel options to us non- locals . The service was as good as we remembered . The room was lovely and the breakfast was tasty and served hot ( which it often isn't in some hotels) . The girl in the breakfast room was polite and helpful . Hope to see you again soon - highly recommend . Thank you

"Friendly, comfortable, elegant period hotel"
dianadI7764KB, 09 Juin 2023

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Best Western, Swiss Cottage hotel in May. The location in quiet tree-lined streets, very close to Swiss Cottage Underground is superb. The period building has a wonderful atmosphere, Very friendly and efficient staff. High standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel, and comfortable well furnished rooms. Delicious breakfasts with wide choice of menu

"Excellent"
mira11062023, 20 Mai 2023

We enjoyed the hotel very much. Come again and again. The team is great. Helpful, nice, friendly. The breakfast is so rich and so tasty. They serve gluten free and dairy free food to the people who need or want. Great.

"home away from home"
haleallisonhale, 17 Mai 2023

Swiss Cottage is a very convenient area with good amenities and access to public transportation. The staff are excellent and genuinely caring about their guests. It is a quiet residential neighborhood and felt very safe.

"They don't understand any sickness and have no kindness in management at all."
helloheyyo, 15 Mai 2023

They are very bad at understanding the situation even, though I had a covid I would like to move forward with my booking they showed no help. I asked them to come for a week later but they were like no way. Also, the bed is super uncomfortable.

"Lovely hotel in a Central position in London"
lydiadarnton, 03 Février 2023

A lovely hotel in the heart of London. A Beautiful pleasant lounge to relax in. Well equipped rooms with pleasant decor. The friendly polite staff Made my stay even more enjoyable. This will be my first choice of hotel when I stay in London again I'm certainly going to be a regular.

"A charming friendly place"
ElsaR_12, 11 Décembre 2022

The friendliest staff in an ideally located charming accommodation. Considering the average fare of a an hotel room in London (outrageous compared to most European capital cities), this lovely place, with all the modern amenities and yet an exquisite old-fashion set, is very good value!

"strongly recommend this lovely hotel"
GrandTour48646291108, 07 Décembre 2022

caring experience when most needed. stayed at hotel two nights as husband has scheduled medical tests nearby. He felt quite poorly and when i advised hotel staff they helped by supplying more tea, utensils for us to use for our carry out meals and let us leave late on last day to better suit our return time to hospital for last day of tests. The hotel reception areas are lovely, spacious, well appointed and clean. our family room was clean, nice antiques in room. tiny but clean bath/shower room. We didn't eat breakfast there due to hospital requirements and hotel doesn't serve any other meal but extremely close to high street where there are choices aplenty. Also, our room was very quiet.

"A peaceful oasis within easy reach of Central London"
Sally R, 03 Décembre 2022

We always have a positive experience when staying at the Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel. It is quiet, situated on a very pleasant residential street and has a lot of charm, All the staff are extremely friendly and professional.

"A Charming Gem"
Getaway16579, 22 Novembre 2022

Perfectly placed to explore London and gorgeous Hampstead with busses and trains nearby. Helpful staff - lovely old fashioned rooms with character. Food stalls and a wednesday outside the Hampstead Theatre which is adjacent. Lovely hotel.

"Very comfortable, lovely staff, excellent breakfast"
Micaela H, 17 Novembre 2022

We were very happy at the top of this property in triple room 402 - a spacious room with seating area, en suite bathroom and separate shower. Attention to detail was excellent - nice toiletries, coffee/tea/biscuits, nice lighting, hair dryer on wall next to long mirror, iron and ironing board, luggage racks etc. The only thing missing for me (as in so many hotel rooms) was a coat hook or 2 behind the door - just a suggestion. Beds were comfortable and the street is delightfully quiet. Creaky floors in the room, but it's an old building. I was only concerned for anyone staying in the room below. We stayed on a very rainy night and there was an annoying drip onto the roof outside our window (from a broken gutter) - loud enough to hear even through ear plugs. I hope this gets fixed soon. Breakfast was excellent in a very nice basement room - loved the wallpaper over the breakfast buffet. The choice on offer exceeded our expectations. The staff were all delightfully friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

"Excellent location, friendly staff, perfect breakfast"
drandoeva, 06 Novembre 2022

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, perfect breakfast, large room, comfortable beds. Only 20 minutes from the centre, and the tube station is just for 2 minutes walk! Quiet and peaceful location, warm and charming hotel, a very good base for London trips.

"Excellently located hotel with character."
John M, 31 Octobre 2022

The hotel is well priced as it's not in the city centre, but is still brilliantly placed for Wembley events and central London, and is literally 5 minutes walk from Swiss Cottage Tube lines. The hotel has lots of character, so expect steep stairs and creaky floorboards. Very near to Primrose Hill for walks. Staff very helpful.

"Our Home Away From Home"
sassjenn2022, 12 Octobre 2022

We keep coming back to this hotel year after year, because it's the best experience for the value. It is just steps away from the Tube station and local bus stops, yet is in a lovely residential area, so it is quieter than some other more central hotels we've stayed at. There is a variety of restaurants within walking distance, as well as smaller grocery shops and pharmacies for day-to-day needs.

"Quiet, homely base, caring staff, conveniently located "
LisaP5933, 25 Septembre 2022

My family stayed at BW Swiss Cottage London for 8 nights. We found it to be a wonderful base for our London trip, conveniently close to tube, bus stations and Regents Park, yet peaceful and calm. The style of the hotel is old- fashioned, warm and charming. The highlight was the staff, who were so warm and helpful, especially Ian and Erika. They were very considerate and tried to help even before we requested it. It's quite rare to find such personally attentive, caring staff in a large tourist city. My only suggestions to BW would be to arrange in-room safes. (They have safety deposit boxes at reception.) Also, it would be nice if the hotel offered snacks and light meals during the day.

"Great period mansion hotel- excellent staff"
nateshearer, 19 Septembre 2022

We stayed for 8 great nights. The staff was attentive and courteous. We had an infant and they were considerate and accommodating on selecting a room that would work well for us as well as be less disruptive to other guests. We enjoyed the simple but quality breakfast each morning with great staff again. We will definitely stay again. Great location to the underground and buses to central London. There is a small local market each morning just outside the local theatre, with easy access to at least 3 market/groceries within 2 blocks. Easy walk to Primrose Hill Park for some of the best views of London and then continue down to Regents Park!

"Nice option for Belsize Park"
felchwizard, 13 Septembre 2022

nice, affordable hotel, friendly staff, good clean room, sheets and towels. breakfast probably not worth the price, better options in the area - Belsize Village square has a lovely delicatessen that we preferred. excellent connections to the city or Hampstead with both tube and overground connections. There are usually Lime bikes around to explore the area too.

"Grat expereience"
Denis C, 02 Septembre 2022

We selected the Best Western Swiss Cottage because of it's location. We had read the staff we're good, but that was an understatement, they were simply wonderful. A clean, tidy room with all facilities as advertised as well as an exceptional English breakfast.

"Stay"
301angelah, 26 Août 2022

Excellent location to the tube station, staff very helpful and professional. Breakfast very good selection and lovely to have table service. Bar service excellent. Reception staff made us very welcome and always there to help. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

"Decent place, near family"
TravelinLB, 13 Août 2022

This place was a cute older hotel. Odd corridors and rooms, but uniquely nice. We chose this place due to location by family, otherwise I think it'd be generally out of the way for touring central London. But it is accessible to the Swiss cottage tube. Nice market down the street in the mornings. Varying vendors but we were able to pick up pastries and coffee there each morning. One morning we had crepes.

"An old world hotel"
Grant B, 18 Juillet 2022

Very convenient for the tube and near to lots of amenities, great breakfast as well, but as a conversion of three old Georgian houses the building itself has limitaions like no A/C and creaky floors (above and below).

"Worst hotel I've ever been"
Цветомир Б, 02 Juillet 2022

This hotel is totall disaster. From the entrance where you firts feel the smell and Al dated furniture to the room which is dirty, cold and uncomfortable. Small bath, small, bed, small room. There is radiator which doesn't work but flows and alythe carpet gets wet. The only high thing is the price.

"Nice hotel"
NorthStar01441245455, 26 Juin 2022

Overall, a pretty good hotel by all means. Breakfast was tasteful, and it was fun to have the chance to try some englsih breakfats. Also, the crew was really friendly and capable of providing tips about what to visit, best way to get there etc. Location-wise, you'll probably have to take the tube to go to the main destinations in London, but in such a big city, it is hard not to. The hotel is one tube line away from Westminster though. Overall, a very good experience. We had a little problem with our tv, there were no channels available. No big deal, as we'd spend only two nights there. To compensate, they covered our breakfast, which as I said, was pretty good.

"My last stay here"
miltosapostolidis, 23 Mai 2022

I`ve been stayed to this hotel for 4 times until now , my 5th stay what a dissapoinment it was really!! First of all i communicated via e-mail with the hotel 3 times pre-arrival asking for a room on a floor and not to the ground floor next to the bar and the reception. And of course they gave me room 102 to the ground floor next to the bar and the reception . What customer care for a returning quest ! I arrived at 16.00 Thursday 19 of May 2022 at the hotel , upon entering , at the front desk was a middle age man on duty.I said hello , no responce , not a word. I had done my check-in on line so the interaction with was very limited , but it was enough to show the level of service and the disposition of the particular gentleman.Τhe conversation I had with him went as follows : me: I want to ask you my room not to be serviced for my entire stay him: you have a tag to your door and you can hang it outside me: yes , i know that but would you please have a note to the roomkeeper for this? him : ------ no answer ! After 5 minutes i came out and headed to front desk Again the convesation as it took place: me: hello again.May i leave this small bag to your safe please him: no responce , he noted indefinitely , took my bag , lock it and as he was giving me the key of the safe he just told me :``if you loose it , you will pay 50 pounds ``!! that was it ! nothing else. I stayed there for 4 4 days and every time i was passing by the reception he never told me a word when i had a salute word like ``hi`` or `` qoodevening , goodnight etc. What a rude and bitter person he was! What an absolute lack of professionalism! what an absolute lack of respect for the customer! if he had a bad day or some other issues to worry about, it is better for him to stay at home and not go to the job from which he is paid. it is obvious that the way he behaves makes him completely unsuitable for the job he is doing and I'm also very curious to see what the hotel management will do with this gentleman I would also like to add that I am at the disposal of the hotel management for any further clarification as well as additional details that I can not mention publicly.

"Wonderful stay for a business trip"
heyitsnoa, 04 Mai 2022

Stayed with a colleague in this hotel for three nights for a work trip - two bedrooms, single beds. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Nice restaurants & cafes nearby and the hotel is very close to a tube station. A bit pricey, but overall a great stay.

"Overpriced and dated accommodation"
Damien M, 21 Avril 2022

Hotel needs modernisation. The family room was disappointing. The floors and doors all creaked with age. The bathroom was poor, with a terrible shower, poor pressure, the toilet cistern took along time to fill and was very noisy. The window in one room had a gap between the bottom of the pane and the frame. TV reception was patchy. There's no complimentary water in the room. Breakfast was overpriced for the poor quality food served.

"Great location, great breakfast, great staff, shame about the squeaky floorboards !"
mkdons1970, 13 Avril 2022

The hotel is a great location, just 100 yards from the tube (Swiss Cottage) no noise outside the hotel, shame about rude guests who make noise at 11.30pm, 6am and so on, no fault of the hotel. We were on the 3rd floor, we must have had a herd of elephants above us on the 4th floor, same again no fault of the hotel, but one thing the hotel could do and I understand it costs money and its a old building but the floorboards seriously needs looking at, our nights sleep was ruined at 11.15pm (when the noisy ignorant people on the 4th floor arrived back) and at 2am when they went to the toilet again, and again... and at 6.45am when they woke up, in this time I think they completed a marathon !! They must have walked/jumped around the distance of 26 miles!! Most issues obviously not the hotels, but if they sorted out the creaky/squeaky floorboards then it would reduce the noise, due to this its a 4 out of 5, would we stay again ?? Yes, but I would request the top floor.

"NIce old style hotel"
johanbA3535MH, 08 Avril 2022

A nice hotel with old style interior, very welcoming employees. The location was nice, close to both pubs and the Swiss Cottage underground station. Good breakfast cook on order, so fresh and tasteful.

"CONFUSION AROUND DAY USE AND ROOM ALLOCATION"
GHXDIOF, 02 Avril 2022

I made a booking on a third party website for daytime use. I chose the Superior double room, which was clearly stated as an option, underneath a few images of the hotel, one of which was the Superior double room. For day use, the timings would be 09.00-17.00, and the price given was £75. When I contacted reservations directly to check this was the room I'd be getting, they said they absolutely cannot allocate a room beforehand, and this is allocated only at the time of check-in. I told them about the third-party website, and the option given to book the Superior double room. They would give me no explanation for this, other than saying they absolutely cannot allocate a certain room. Instead, a room would be allocated at the time of arrival, and it could be any room. This is despite me having written confirmation of my booking of the Superior double bedroom on the date I had chosen, which I received by email. The pictures, room description and booking details are inaccurate on the third party website, as they are promising a room that isn't even available to book. I was interested in the room because it has a large bay window and good natural light. I was going to use it as a space to work on my photography. Unfortunately I can't proceed with the booking, without having any notion what my environment, and the natural light, will be like on the day. It could be vastly different. The info is still appearing on the third party site (Get a Day Room). They should correct this, to avoid disappointment.

"Location location location"
bpraag, 21 Mars 2022

The locatoin of this hotel is very good. A two minute walk from public transport both bus and tube into and out of central London. It iwll take you about 15 mins or less to get into the centre of town. The hotle is situated in a quiest good area of London. There is a small market on Wids next to the hotel and there are food stalls most days just a minute from the hotel. The hotel is clean and the staff are very peasant. Lots of resaurants and coffes shops within a five minute walk and 24 hour supermarkets. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in London this is the place.

"Average hotel let down by quality of breakfast"
468DeniseB, 15 Mars 2022

Good location, looks good from the outside. I would imagine usually a quiet street but on the Friday night of our visit our daughters had to swap rooms due to noise from a party and then the following morning there seemed to be some domestic going on with police involved. Very dated on the inside. Would suit the more elderly visitor - wouldn't recommend for modern city travellers. Reception helpful and professional. Let down by the quality of the breakfast - substandard bread for toast and had margarine on instead of butter. Coffee not good. Not a wide selection of items. Very surprised by some saying breakfast was 'fabulous' - not on our visit. No recompense from the manager for this - just usual 'take on board' comments and try to visit again which I wouldn't waste my money on.

"Weekend in London"
R2196HWlynng, 13 Mars 2022

Booked last minute without checking out any reviews. Surpassed expectations. Check-in and out was quick and seamless. Room lovely and large. Felt spacious and clean with everything you'd expect. We had free on street parking outside hotel. Beautiful area. Very quiet street adjacent to tube. Breakfast fabulous. All staff really friendly Highly recommend

"Very quiet, friendly and personal hotel."
6Lynne, 12 Décembre 2021

We had to keep cancelling our reservation for various reasons and the staff were incredibly understanding and accommodating. It made such a difference to us. When we finally made it to the hotel, we were so pleased by the personal ambience, hominess and quietness of the hotel and area. Just lovely.

"Great hidden gem and very close to central London by underground"
Carlos_SD04, 04 Décembre 2021

Getting there by car you shouldn't have to worry about congestion charge, but you may pass an London ULEZ zone, worth checking your car does not have to pay for it. The area is great, clean and safe. It is 5 minutes away from Swiss Cottage underground station, which is Jubilee line, so connected to central London. Parking near the hotel is free from Saturday 01:00 PM and Sunday, however within 5 to 10 minutes' walk there is parking free from Friday 06:00 PM to Monday 08:30 AM. There is also a CO-OP 5 minutes' walk, great if you need to buy snacks or refreshments. The hotel is big, and as mentioned in other reviews, dated, however in my opinion I like it and adds to the character of the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. In terms of the room itself, it was spacious and overall clean and tidy. Our specific room was very quiet (in a good way) and provided the best night sleep. I did notice in the entrance, where you leave your shoes, there was a thick layer of dust in the skirting board. The bed itself was comfortable and we had a good night of sleep. The bathroom specifically in our room was relatively modern, but awkward layout – the shower was very small, and some people may struggle with it, and the toilet was also placed next to the sink, some people may struggle using it as well. Going for breakfast it is a steep stair, which is fine for most people but worth mentioning. The food was good, hot, and plenty of variety in the buffet. The food arrived a bit slower in the second day of our stay. Overall, we recommend this hotel for its excellent location, comfortable room, good value for money and close to the underground which takes you straight to central London. It is great for weekend getaways.

"Classic Best Western Hotel"
miltosapostolidis, 25 Novembre 2021

i`ve stayed here for 4 nights late November 20121 and i am satisfied ( more or less ) with my stay. It`s relatively a small hotel , 2 or 3 united old houses connected with hallways and stairs. It`s clean , definately need a renovation and it`s dated also. But it`s quiet , good value for money and (almost) helpfull staff. My rate was room only , so i don`t have opinion for breakfast quality. Good connection with Paddinghton Station by bus No46 and Camden Town by bus No 31. Reccommended for anyone doesn`t have great exceptations for a hotel stay

"Weekender"
BellWhit, 08 Novembre 2021

A very traditional hotel in a quiet location but within easy reach of public transport. Breakfast was amazing and staff are all polite and helpful Room was very big with stunning windows and had all you need for a comfortable stay

"Traditional-style English Comfort"
Webhaven, 05 Novembre 2021

This is an old building furnished in traditional English style, and providing breakfast only. The facilities are, for the most part, very comfortable, as long as you don't choose one of the 4th-floor attic rooms, which are cramped and less well-kept. The Wifi was surprisingly good and reliable. The full English breakfast is satisfactory but unimaginative. The shower in the bedroom is just a hand shower rigged up to serve as a head shower, too, but the result is poor. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. Altogether, our stay here was pleasant. The hotel is very conveniently situated, just a few minutes' walk from Swiss Cottage Tube, and plenty of choice of restaurants in the vicinity. There is currently an NHS mobile PCR Covid testing station, just outside the hotel.

"Quiet location"
jussiebWales, 29 Octobre 2021

Great quiet location ,close to tube station. Large room, very clean. Excellent breakfast with lovely staff. We would stay there again and definitely recommend this place. It exceeded our expectations.

"Excellent Value and Quiet Neighbourhood"
kjbr, 24 Octobre 2021

This hotel is 20 min walk from The Roundhouse/Camden Market/Primrose Hill. It's a little tired and old fashioned. But the building is lovely and it's v quiet at night. We got a discount by booking via Booking.com on a mobile. Good price for London. Room was a good size. They need to invest in king sized beds and softer pillows but we had a good sleep. Breakfast was excellent for a 3 star hotel. Staff were v nice and helpful. Breakfast service particularly good.

"Lovely Hotel"
heatherlou65, 14 Octobre 2021

Great hotel right near the tube but really quiet! It was my husband's birthday so the receptionist upgraded us to a lovely room! Breakfast very good! Ideal place for somebody wanting to tourLondon ! Have been there before about 14 years ago , would go again!

"Best"
khsite, 23 Septembre 2021

Food was excellent reception staff and service staff were attentive and friendly. Check in and out was simple. The room were clean and tidy, my shower and tv were not the best but acceptable. Shower removed the dust and used my laptop for viewing.

"Fabulous location!"
Mary-Clare A, 21 Septembre 2021

An elegant guest house, rather than hotel, as breakfast and bar are offered, but no other meals. Delightful room, super clean, lovely large bath towels. Excellent breakfast, the best scrambled eggs I've ever had! Despite being less than five minutes walk from Swiss Cottage tube station, the room and area were extremely quiet and I slept marvellously on a very comfortable bed.

"Overnight stay"
NigelMeyer, 20 Septembre 2021

We have used the hotel before and recently stayed overnight as we were attending an event. The hotel is very well situated near a tube and main road with a choice of restaurants. All the staff are friendly and the superior room was spacious, clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast offering is good with a range of buffet and hot food.options. The price was good for a London hotel. We will stay again.

"The Amazing Receptionist Erica"
Jckglo, 12 Septembre 2021

I am very fond of this old world hotel But this visit was made remarkable by the wonderful receptionist Erica The lift wasn't working and I watched her not only being courteous and delightful with the guests but carrying their suitcases up the stairs .Someone said she had being doing this all day. When I talked to her on the phone she was so helpful and it is because of her I will return to this Hotel I hope her work is appreciated

"Rooms not serviced"
ewilson2019, 07 Septembre 2021

Staff friendly and welcoming. Public areas nicely decorated but rooms in need of refurbishment and plug got stuck in sink. The hotel has a policy of not servicing rooms so questionable hygiene practices - there was an old water bottle top left underneath the table so attention to detail with the cleaning, when it does happen, is not ideal.

"Lovely hotel and lovely staff."
emmajs505, 25 Juillet 2021

Really great friendly staff, the room We stayed in was clean and comfortable, additionally the bathroom was also very clean. Really close to a tube station only 15mins walk from the Roundhouse. Excellent!

"Wembley trip"
I3191WBtracyw, 17 Juillet 2021

3rd time stayed here to go to wembley. Really nice hotel. Close to restaurants, bars and finchley Rd train station ( 15 mins to wrmbley) Nothing too much trouble for staff. If we are lucky enough to see our team return to wembley will stay again

"Poor sleep"

"Overnight stay midweek"
Charlotte K, 19 Mai 2021

I stayed at the hotel with my mother the night before a family funeral. I was delighted with the hotel: it was clean and quiet, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I thought it was very good value for money for the location. Parking was available at a cost of £25 at the nearby Marriott, a 5 minute walk away. I would gladly stay there again. Given that we were under Covid restrictions, the hotel did a good job providing us with tea and coffee and a hot breakfast roll with other options (juice, yoghurt etc.)

"Great location and value for money"
danieljohn6683, 10 Mai 2021

Absolutely fantastic. The check-in was made to be very simple and fast. The staff were very polite and helpful. The location was good easy to get to by car or public transport. The room was very big with a nice best to work from. The layout of the room was well thought through too with the desk not at the end of the bed, should you need to get on a video call.

"Excellent Staff, Great Location and Price"
jonlg_uk, 29 Mars 2021

Very helpful and accommodating staff. Erika on front desk was the extra mile to ensure all my needs were met. The hotel itself is located in a great location and is relatively quiet considering. One small criticism is that the room could have been cleaner. Overall I definitely would stay here again.

"Lovely hotel that's surprsingly affordable"
alexl609, 11 Décembre 2020

I had the most amazing room - huge with sofa, 2 armchairs, coffee table, desk, etc. and a very comfy bed and lots of space, overlooking Adamson road. Very clean. One of the nicest rooms I've stayed in. The bathroom was perhaps a little basic and covid restrictions meant some of the amenities weren't available (notably a proper breakfast). There was a kind of "packed" breakfast provided, although a few basic errors there (no milk, no sauce in the sausage in a roll, which I can forgive on account of everything else being so good).

"Friends reunited"
liztfj, 18 Février 2020

Brilliant hotel and staff, we were overwhelmed by the kindness shown by the staff at this hotel. We were a little lost when we arrived at the Swiss Cottage area, it was very dark when we arrived and we were tired after a very long journey. I rang the hotel for directions, the guy at the reception stayed on the phone to guide us to the hotel, amazing staff!

"Finally found what I have been looking for"
seannaj78, 17 Février 2020

For years I have been searching for a hotel in London that I wish to return to and now I have found it. Located in a residential area, a minute's walk from the underground, yet still close to the bustling city this neat gem is to be found. Great value for money, clean, quiet, good breakfast and excellent wifi. The building is older thus providing charm and a personal touch. I stayed in a standard double room with a bathtub offering all I could ask for. I will return many, many times.

"Well located, friendly hotel"
Jonathan_H247, 30 Janvier 2020

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times. It is good value and very convenient for Swiss Cottage tube station. Although the decor is a little dated, particularly in the guest rooms, it is clean and everything seems to work. An ironing board, iron and tea and coffee making facilities always appreciated. Staff are very professional which creates a warm and friendly atmosphere.

"Charming Staff in very Good Value Hotel"
Baile1, 29 Janvier 2020

This is a very well located hotel, being very close to Swiss Cottage underground which makes everything very accessible. It is also close to some very nice restaurants. I come here regularly and am particularly impressed with the staff who are all really friendly and efficient. Special thanks are due to Iain on reception who dealt with an issue in a really prompt, efficient and friendly manner. Erika is also such an asset on reception. In fairness, though all staff are great. Breakfast is freshly cooked and is good quality and the staff were quick and friendly. The hotel is in an old building so the rooms are varied in size and character. I'm already looking forward to my next stay. Laura from Ireland.

"Another fabulous stay here"
GabJab789, 26 Janvier 2020

Another great stay at this Best Western Swiss Cottage hotel. Just as good as the last time. The staff are friendly, the beds and rooms are clean and comfy. Housekeeping do a great job. The location is 2 mins from the underground station. Full English Breakfast was delicious. Thank you for looking after us again. We'll sure be back to stay here again next time we're in London.

"Overall good - weird payment system."
Thesouthcoastal, 26 Janvier 2020

Stayed on a room only rate. £126 Pros:- room huge! Couldn't believe how big the twin room was, clean, tidy, bathroom big. Quiet considering the location. Almost too much space! Cons:- a personal con is just the location - it was a bit far over from Camden for my liking, again not the hotels fault. Condition :- definitely needs an update, decor old. Flooring creaky due to the build. The biggest is the payment system:- booked a flexible room rate with a third party which very clearly states:- payment on departure. So we arrive, the guy tells me, ‘due to best western policies we take payment now, refund you back immediately, then take it AGAIN'. Word to the hotel, tread carefully. If someone had limited funds and you charged them twice (let's face it refunds don't go in immediately) your going to upset a lot of people.

"Single room great value"
luana w, 25 Janvier 2020

Great value for money single room price - buses and tube really close. Single room had no lift access and was 4th floor (lift only goes to 3rd). I didn't see how the hotel would have wheelchair access but it's worth checking - main entrance is not accessible. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment but room was comfortable and well equipped. Good bolt hole for work trip

"Very nice hotel "
rosie371, 30 Décembre 2019

This was a really lovely hotel Very clean and staff on check in couldn't be more friendly and polite and helpful with our inquiries The room was a family room and was spacious and clean with all we needed We had come to London to take our son to the university of speech and drama which might I add is a 30 second pleasant walk over the road (I have added a picture to show how far taken from our window and it's the building to the left with all the steps lit up ) handy for us as our son needed to be there early in the morning and I was worry that the hotel would be miles away even though I had checked before hand , Staff changed over later on in the evening to night staff and the same again the lady was very helpful and friendly The hotel was beautifully decorated down stairs and the Christmas tree was beautiful I would definitely stay here again (my only slight criticism is the walls in the rooms don't do the hotel justice leaving it feeling a little gloomy with a bright white or warm grey or cream it could make so much difference) but that is just a observation! We traveled along way to get here from ludlow in Shropshire so we where grateful that the hotel was better than we hoped as our last visit to London was awful mostly down to a dreadful hotel All in all very nice

"Fabulous, traditional, quiet, comfy"
helen s, 17 Décembre 2019

Stayed in a triple room with my children. Big comfortable room with 3 big single beds and a dressing room. Quiet room. You could open the windows which is rare in modern hotels. Hotel is very quirky, all the rooms are different. Spotlessly clean, staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was huge and very good. Would recommend and there's 3 parking spaces!

"Family weekend"
Ciprian A, 26 Novembre 2019

We had a wonderful stay!!! The family room was very spacious and clean!!! The breakfast was excellent on both mornings with plenty of choice!!! Erika from reception was very polite and professional!!!

"Excellent"
E8526JMmichaels, 13 Novembre 2019

Check in was faultless, very pleasant lady on the desk. Room was large and spacious and had a great sized tv. Bed were comfy. Location was great for our work needs. Didn't take breakfast so cant comment on that but rest of stay was excellent

"An excellent option for a stay in North London"
PhilandClare55, 07 Novembre 2019

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western for the night before I had a medical appointment in Hampstead. We found the hotel to be full of character, the staff very friendly and the room very comfortable. The room rate was reasonable. All in all, this hotel offers good quality accommodation and service at an affordable price. We are returning to London for a follow-up appointment and will definitely be staying at The Best Western again.

"Good base"
AngelSiren, 01 Novembre 2019

Hotel older but spotless The main thing is this is in a great location! Just 2/3 mins from the underground. Breakfast sufficient and tasty. Room small but adequate and clean. Beds too small and uncomfortable. Staff need training! Not overly friendly or efficient.

"Nice big room and an enjoyable stay"
NGBJ, 01 Novembre 2019

Nice big room with large windows, good quality furniature and hot shower. No outside noise which was great, although there was some creaking from upstairs (to be expeted from an old building). Clean and tidy, apart from a few stray hairs left in the bathroom. The bed was quite comfortable but it was two singles pushed together, rather than an actual double. Very close to the tube station, although we made a mistake thinking it was close to Camden - only about half an hour's walk but no direct tube if it's raining. Bus service was easy though, and it's a nice walk through Primrose Hill if the weather is good. Overall very nice.

"It served the purpose"
RCS3rd, 31 Octobre 2019

We were just going to stay one night to see relatives for dinner and this hotel served us well, especially since it was close to where we were going. We had a spacious ground floor room, old style hotel decor. The bed was comfortable. The air felt a little stuffy and we had the window open during night. We heard no noise from the street overnight and nothing from the hallway either. The bathroom was small but clean. Electric kettle in the room with tea and coffee options. Nice breakfast buffet with various options, can order a la carte as well. Well worth the additional 11.95 pounds.

"Reasonable hotel in great location"
Craig P, 30 Octobre 2019

We stayed here for a midweek break and is very well placed with a two minute walk from swiss cottage tube station. When we arrived we were greeted very quickly by reception. When we arrived at our room which was quite small but decent enough for a 4 night stay, only a standard double bed which are really far too small nowadays when most hotels at least have king size beds, toilet door opened enough to get in but did hit the bed when doing so, had to watch where you were sitting when someone in the toilet, the shower room itself could do to have some work done on it with leaking shower and cracked floor tiles but not a major issue as it was spotlessly clean. The room itself was spotless as well, housekeeping do a fantastic job in this hotel. Breakfast was served in the dining room which was located under the main staircase, this is where this hotel was let down, some staff just didn't seem interested and on one morning after a 15 min wait we still hadn't been served even with my partner saying excuse me on at least two occasions, gave up waiting so no breakfast that morning even though we had paid for this. Breakfast when you did get it was very good and came out piping hot. I would use this hotel again if back down in London as it is very handy for the tube and only a short walk away from plenty of decent restaurants.

"Convenience with economy and location"
maws784, 01 Octobre 2019

This hotel had friendly and helpful staff, good breakfasts, comfortable and reasonably priced. Location just outside London centre in Zone 2 for transport was ideal as well as being on the Jubilee line which got you easily to the West End, the South Bank or virtually anywhere else in London. For travel best to get an Oyster card and keep topping up as required unless you expect to have a lot of different trips in a day. The convenience of this location was you get most ordinary purchases in the Finchley Road only 5 minutes away tops. Plenty of eating places nearby or else move uphill to Hampstead. Also within 100 yards is the hampstaed Theater which puts on good shows in either of its 2 stages - a larger auditorium and a smaller more workshop stage with tiered seating.

"Ideal"
chunk2007, 26 Août 2019

This hotel was ideal for us to go to Lords for the Ashes. Cute little hotel with great access to the tube. The breakfast was plentifull and the price was great for London. Big shout out to the bar man zac, what a lovely friendly guy. Could do with some better pillows, they are really hard. We would definitely stay again when we are going to the cricket.

"Not impressed "
shirtmaker46, 15 Août 2019

We checked in with Ian , who really did not feel welcome. His attitude was not good. I wanted a glass of water to take pills with so I went to bar, nobody there so I rang the bell, after about 2 minutes I rang it again, Ian appeared and said who keeps ringing the bell, I said sorry I just wanted a drink of water. He said he would get someone, after waiting another 2 mins, I just swallowed the pills. As I was heading out the door another minute later the water arrived The room was fine , no complaints. Breakfast, I ordered bacon egg and sausage. The bacon was cold and a white deposit was congealed on it. I decided not to eat it. I took a photo of the plate, and showed it to Ian and he was good enough to say he would not charge me. I paid him for my friend who was standing with me, when my friend asked how much it was, I said it was £11.95, Ian then said that he had not charged me. Not a happy place to stay.

"Delightful somewhat old-fashioned hotel in a quiet neighborhood"
johna21w, 15 Août 2019

Comfortable older establishment; very friendly and efficient staff; no AC, but our windows opended wide behind iron grills; very good breakfast option, not included in price. Comfortable, good-sized rooms with two fans in the room without asking. One block from the Swiss Cottage tube station. Restaurants within walking distance. Good value. Will stay again when in London.

"Good neighborhood, comfy beds"
Barbara M, 06 Août 2019

Got a really good last minute price and a ticket to Hamilton so decided on a weekend in London. The hotel was average. With the exception of the woman who checked me out on Sunday morning and was pleasant, everyone else seemed unskilled at hospitality. Apart from that the room was too warm even with the windows open, but they did provide a fan. But it is close to the train and to all the London sites, so well situated for site seeing.

"Good value for money."
Fred A, 30 Juillet 2019

Located just off the Finchley road this hotel is ideal for those attending the cricket at Lords and for those wishing to spend time in the city (only 4 tube stops to Buckingham Palace). Rooms are clean and are a good size. Breakfast is great served promptly by friendly staff. Bar facilities are poor as are afternoon/evening eating options. Overall good value though!

"Beware no aircon "
261robw, 27 Juillet 2019

The hotel has no aircon , and the windows only open an inch , which in the summer heat makes it extremely unpleasant on the upper floors . A fan was provided in the room , but it barely changed the temperature. I ended up spending most of my 2 evenings sitting in the garden or lounge because the heat in my room was unbearable.

"Swiss Cottage London Break"
rapotts, 15 Juillet 2019

Excellent situation close to tube station , enjoyable breakfast. Slightly disappointed with lighting and decor in what was a superior twin room. Lift not very efficient in that only takes two passengers.

"Top Spot!"
allanlewisr, 02 Juillet 2019

We enjoyed our stay here for three nights this year. So convenient for the tube and main shopping precinct... Although it must be said the room was a quite cramped and an A/C would have been a welcome addition. Staying without a fridge was a bit unusual...however the management did provide us with a bucket of ice!!! Lovely old renovated building in a top spot ✔...

"Great location for Wembley and London but could do so much better"
Useitwisely, 24 Juin 2019

This hotel is in a great location for Wembley and Central London however it fails on many fronts where a tiny bit of effort could make all the difference. Firstly the staff are completely lacking in enthusiasm or even the basic ability to say hello to their guests, You might as well be invisible. The deco is good but you can see there are lots of repairs but that really wouldn't be an issue if the service was great? It is the kind of place where a little bit of generosity and good service would make up for so much... Couldn't connect to the internet. Tv had Netflix button but you couldn't access it.... The shower was impossible to get to the right temperature. The bathroom overdue for a refit The bed was was an instrument of torture, rock hard with rock hard pillows and was a very small standard UK double of about 140cms wide even in a superior double room... Having paid 160£ per night I would have expected more than one tiny packet of biscuits and and one small bottle of water between two people. No in room coffee machine. The really sad thing is if your product is a bit tired and lacking you can make up for it with great service and generous guest amenities but no one is really thinking about it in this hotel. Having experienced the lack of enthusiasm from the staff and the stingy amenities we didn't risk the breakfast and went out instead. Also no safe for valuables It was however SUPER CLEAN and the housekeeping deserve a medal.

"decent"
lemoncoke07, 15 Juin 2019

(+) good location, few minute walks from tube and bus stations. ok bed, clean and decent room. fan was provided and heating worked very well. quiet neighbourhood (-) one time people upstairs were so loud, had no idea what they doing as we heard loud stomping for over 10 minutes. dated furnitures, could do with some refurbishment

"Good for 1 night"
kezzaEastSussex, 11 Juin 2019

Well place for Swiss Cottage underground. Rooms quite small, but had everything you needed, did not like the layout, narrow corridors, 1 tiny lift, the breakfast staff were very helpful and friendly, which is more than the male receptionist. Quite rude and abrupt. Overall, ok for 1 night but no more

"Very good hotel out of central london"
Fred J, 09 Juin 2019

The hotel was very well decorated and service from the reception was excellent. the room was excellent but was a standard double bed, slightly larger would have given 5 statrs. I ever actually saw the bar open , but the porter did get me a bottle of beer. I got ice every nigt as there was no fridge in the room. there was also no safe in the room. The internet was limited to 25 mb after which you paid. ( why do british hotels skimp on these simple things ) The two real plus's were the 2 minute walk to swiss cottage underground and the quiet leafy tree lined road it occupied meaning you could sleep with the window open. It would have been a good idea to place a few chairs in the garden. Finchly high st was 3 minutes away with a superb italian restaurant and a superb cafe ( the garden cafe) reviewed by me as well. there was obviuosly no air con as this is the uk.

"Good breakfast, clean room"
990eunjil, 21 Mai 2019

My room was located on the Ground floor, it was clean but something smelled bad. However, I could experience a nice traditional English breakfast, which was not to my taste, but my husband enjoyed very much.

"Quaint Victorian Hotel"
WendyTowers, 20 Mai 2019

Never stayed here before so had no idea what to expect. Room was spacious. Good size bathroom. Tv, dressing table. Tea, coffee etc. Shower wasn't great. We took the life up but it was so tiny we took the stairs after. Lots of doors and corridors. Pleasant staff. Great breakfast and service. My only gripe, we paid for late check out and at around 12.30pm the cleaner knocked and let herself straight in. When we said we had a late check out she questioned us. Just thought it a bit off that she didn't know and that she just walked in before we had chance to speak. I would stay here again. Great location and no traffic noise at all.

"Stay at Swiss Cottage Best Western"
GoPlaces61446718273, 13 Mai 2019

Really pleasant experience. Comfortable room with good tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer etc. Good nights sleep without noise from either inside the hotel or from outside Highly recommended. Decent breakfast choices and good coffee

"Strange hotel"
kokopelligrl, 06 Mai 2019

Not the typical Best Western that we're used to in the US. Lots of steep stairs to get to the lobby, the room, then steps down and up in the room to get to the bathroom. The shower didn't have a full curtain and flooded the floor every time. Breakfast was down very narrow and steep stairs which was risky. Unfriendly or helpful staff. No help from anyone bringing bags down on departure date as the night clerk said he couldn't leave the desk (which we knew he did other times as we saw it unstaffed). The local was great- close walking distance to Finchley Road shops and restaurants, Underground and cute pop up farmers market. It suited our needs for the few days we were there but wouldn't go back there.

"Good value hotel in London"
Fearless68472647617, 26 Avril 2019

Close to Swiss Cottage tube station (approx 2 minute, level, walk). Room was clean; however, decor and furniture was a little 'tired', especially the bathroom. No evening meal facilities unless you don't mind a sandwich/pizza etc in the bar area, breakfast a little expensive at nearly £12 - though this is not a problem as there are plenty of local eateries/restaurants nearby.

"Comfortable rooms, great location, fantastic breakfast & super friendly staff!"
eus4, 21 Avril 2019

We enjoyed our short 3-day stay at the Best Western Swiss Cottage at the end of March 2019. Staff was always very nice and helpful. We enjoyed exploring the Swiss Cottage neighborhood (especially the small international market set up just outside of the hotel) and were pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to get to/from other parts of London from this location. The Jubilee tube station was just a block away! We will definitely consider this hotel again whenever we return to London!

"London or Bust"
debmbutler, 16 Avril 2019

This is a very quaint hotel with a lovely common area for visiting with guests. Our checkin went without a hitch as did our check out the next morning. The rooms are very small which I'm not used to coming from accommodations in the US

"An Excellent Find"
E8804DWmartinb, 29 Mars 2019

Perfect location for auditions at 'Central' a 100m walk. Tube 150m walk-3 stops on Jubilee Line to central London..Excellent staff all extremely friendly and helpful...nothing too much trouble. Room good with very comfortable bed. Breakfast good quality and value...would highly recommend and would defiantly stay again.

"Excellent and convenient London Hotel"
Sweetrosie33, 24 Mars 2019

A very enjoyable stay here. Very convenient to the tube and a great location. Comfortable quiet rooms with excellent amenities and tasty breakfast. The staff were wonderful and looked after our every need. Would definitely recommend this hotel

"Nice stay at Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel"
Sightseer01058750108, 21 Mars 2019

The hotel is located in a very quiet street, and is very close to the tube. Rooms and bathroom are larger than London standards. Breakfast is fairly good, at affordable price, and served in a quite clear and large room (unlike most accomodations in London) I stayed there in March and got a good rebate on the standard price.

"Swish cottage"
Roam16411483550, 15 Mars 2019

Great location! Parking arrangements were external but fab!! Room spacious and clean and quiet I liked the area and will definitely stay at this hotel again Check in check out very quick And price for my two night stay was also v good

"Great location great hotel great value"
bling69, 07 Mars 2019

Highly recommend this hotel in Swiss Cottage . Very close to the West End, on bus and Jubilee line. We spent 3 days here in a triple room. Very comfortable, very clean, great breakfast and great service. Highly recommend

"Re-visiting our wedding venue"
Inspire21266632251, 25 Février 2019

The Swiss Cottage Hotel has so much potential with a little TLC but it was somewhat underwhelming. Poor wifi, untidy back garden area, greasy breakfast and chairs stacked up in corridors. It wouldn't take much turn the hotel back into the lovely hotel we had our wedding reception at 25yrs ago

"Lovely Hotel with a family feel"
geoff r, 17 Février 2019

On a recent visit to London,my daughter and I stayed at the Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel. It is a delightful hotel situated in a quiet street a stone's throw away from the Swiss Cottage tube station. Our room was comfortable, the breakfast very good and the staff friendly. Special mention must be made of Ian Jackman at reception. What a wonderful person !. He really made our stay special and went out of his way to help us with a problem we had. We'll definitely stay there again.

"Convenient BW quality"
Dream04969117760, 11 Février 2019

Perfectly located by Swiss Cottage tube. Good sleep, good room temperature, quite nice breakfast with cold buffet and hot items to order, all included in the breakfast price. Ask for breakfast voucher on arrival, if it is not offered to you, or you may not be able to have it. Bathroom a bit small, but enough for me. I will repeat this hotel!

"Clean, quiet with good customer care"
m0taher, 01 Février 2019

I stayed there for 3 night and it had everything I wanted. Room cleaned everyday, hotel was spotless, the bed was comfy, good size bedroom, the area was quiet and clean quick access to underground and bus stops. there were plenty of shops ad restaurant around it. the price was not bad either. staff were helpful. the only complain I could make was the lifts were too small and a bit slow and I didnt have a wardrobe in my room .

"Useful hotel in a North london location"
PAUL D D, 28 Janvier 2019

Very efficient Check-In and Out experience. Room was very clean and functional, although some furnishings need updating. Location close to tube station and buses to city. Hotel is on a quiet road and there was a surprisingly lovely sound of birdsong on Sunday morning. Cooked and continental breakfast was extremely good (except the juice needs not to be heavily diluted, as reported). I would recommend this hotel.

"nice comfortable hotel"
Anatbu, 28 Janvier 2019

I booked for me and my family 3 rooms. we were all very happy with them. they were comfortable and clean. the hotel is located 5-6 underground stops from city center and close to an underground station and a lot of buses. the staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast was good.

"Excellent hotel"
FarAway822338, 08 Janvier 2019

The staff were very helpful, the breakfast excellent especially the coffee! The hotel is spotlessly clean. It's a great location and a very large lounge to sit in and chat. They also provided newspapers in the reception. The decor is interesting and adds to the atmosphere of the place.

"A quiet friendly hotel close to central London"
moorali, 27 Décembre 2018

I had a lovely stay in this hotel on a side street near Swiss Cottage underground station and a lovely walk through to Hampstead. Staff were all friendly as helpful. I was visiting my husband in hospital and it was nice to come back to familiar faces

"OK, nothing special. Hotel and staff need improvements."
RoyalYachterG7257VD, 11 Décembre 2018

The hotel is in a superb location, very close to Swiss Cottage tube, restaurants and shops. The hotel is located on a nice residential street. The hotel itself is OK, no frills. At check-in the receptionist's attitude was OK, she was a bit cold and abrupt but acceptable. Our room was decent however the hotel is cursed with squeaky floorboards, earplugs at bedtime are highly recommended while staying at this hotel. Bottom line is: great location but the hotel needs improvements in a few areas.

"Very comfortable and quiet"
DianaH917, 01 Décembre 2018

Stayed for one night while I was at a conference nearby. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, I had a single room, very comfortable bed, good sized room with en suite shower room. The staff were friendly and helpful, advised on nearby restaurants. A great night's sleep, good breakfast. I would certainly stay here again. The tube is five minutes walk away, Fincley Road is the same with a good variety of restaurants and shops. A great visit.

"Lovely hotel"
rebeccagK4901VZ, 29 Novembre 2018

I'm just back from staying at this great hotel for 3 nights. I was very pleased with my experience. I had a lovely (very large!) superior double room at the front of the hotel that was very tastefully furnished. The food at breakfast was excellent, and the service very prompt, friendly and professional. The location is also great being less than 5 minutes from Swiss Cottage tube station and in a beautiful residential area that has many attractions of its own. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and hope to be back soon!

"Just perfect for the Roundhouse "
Moonraker313, 20 Novembre 2018

Six friends, three rooms, one great evening. Perfect location, metres from the tube, 15 mins walk to the pub and a further 5 mins to the Roundhouse. Rooms were ideal for our needs, nice breakfast spread but maybe more cooked veggie things would've been nice. Staff friendly and will definitely stay there again.

"Quirky Hotel"
christine100366, 15 Octobre 2018

A lovely hotel that couldn't be any easier to find, straight off the tube and you are in sight of it. A short tube ride from the centre of the city. Food was excellent and staff were very helpful and attentive. Room was spacious, clean and very quiet.Corridors and lift were quirky but all part of the olde world charm, excellent value for money. Will definitely be back here again.

"Great position friendly staff"
labelledamesansmerci, 04 Octobre 2018

I only spent one night here as I was attending the Wellington hospital about one mile away. My room was spacious and comfortable. I slept well in the bed which had a firm mattress. The area is quiet and attractive. My room looked out to the front but there was no traffic noise at night. The decor in the hotel is somewhat dated. That did not bother me. Some of the furniture and chandeliers are impressive. My spacious room was clean enough, but it must be a mammoth task keeping an older building with fancy decor up to standard. The carpets in the room had a few marks, but the bed linen was white and fresh and the bathroom was well cleaned. The staff I met were friendly and helpful, especially Erika on reception. I'll be back in London soon for a longer stay and I'd be happy to stay here again.

GyorgyWagner, 24 Septembre 2018

I love this hotel, this was my third or fourth visit here. It is situated in a very good place, close to Swiss Cottage Tube Station. The building is nice, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious.

"nice unpretentious hotel"
OlgaH031, 20 Septembre 2018

This is a typical London hotel converted from residential housing, i.e. somewhat rambling and confusing. However, even though some of the rooms could do with a re-vamp (more electricity outlets, please), everything is practical and clean. Staff are very friendly and the position next to the Swiss Cottage stop on the Northern Line makes this charming hotel a perfect alternative to some more expensive hotels in the city centre.

Amazing price and location. Hotel is great. Right on the Underground and 4 stops from everywhere. Breakfast was very good. New bathrooms. Friendly staff let us store our bags before leaving and did our day trip in London.

"Quiet hotel close to centre of London"
John M, 28 Août 2018

We were amazed at how quiet this hotel was even though it was only four stops from the Green Park tube station, and Mayfair. We live in a quiet village in rural Kent, and the road outside our hotel was at least as quiet as ours!! Swiss Cottage tube station is on the Jubilee line; and you can see the hotel from the Adamson Road exit. It is just a short walk past Hampstead Theatre. If I need a centrally located hotel in London for future trips I will almost certainly use this one.

"This place is a cross between Fawlty Towers and the house that Jack built"
Iain, 13 Août 2018

The hotel is obviously a conversion of two / three old houses joined together and it certainly shows! It only needs Sybil, Basil and Manuel from "Fawlty Towers" to complete the scenario and it should really be a theme park dedicated to the TV programme. Lost bookings, being given a room that was already occupied and a suggestion that two brothers could occupy a double bed end-to-end were all experienced at check in. The rooms are hot (they did provide fans) and on the 4th floor there are low uneven ceilings and very creaky floors. The decor is what I believe is called "second empire" heavy curtains and pictures. Mind you it was cheap for London, but I pity those overseas visitors or business people who arrive expecting some London comforts and style. But if you want a laugh and a cheap nights digs go for it and just remember the famous expression from the TV show "Basil!!"

"Excellent value in a quiet, very comfortable and well located hotel."
maxjenBrundall, 13 Août 2018

Lovely comfortable hotel full of character in a quiet location in easy walking distance to the Tube. Rooms are spacious and very well furnished, and spotlessly clean. The staff throughout are extremely pleasant, polite and helpful. The breakfast has a wonderful choice both cold and hot and the latter is always well cooked, The bar is small and quiet just right for easing down after a busy day. Highly recommended!

"Great hotel in a great part of London"
Julie F, 11 Août 2018

Have stayed here a few times now and each time it is great. Close to tube station, nice area of London. Cool rooms, much better than a chain hotel. Lots to do, parking is fine on the streets. Very impressed. Good value for money

"Ideal for a quick trip to London!"
_ruaridh13_, 03 Août 2018

I booked this place about a month before our trip, and when I had issues booking it via the website and called them, I was offered an even better rate which included breakfast. The hotel is well-located, just a two minute walk from Swiss Cottage tube station on the Jubilee Line (which runs through Baker Street, Westminster, and London Bridge) so everything is easily accessible with a maximum one change. If you leave from the Eton Avenue exit (exit 2, I think) it's a two minute walk - you can even see the sign from the moment you climb the stairs. The hotel has character - there's no denying that. Once we checked in, we were offered the lift which was a very old-style lift. We took it up but that was the only time we used it (personal preference). As it is an old hotel, the floor boards are uneven etc, but that's expected so it isn't a big issue. The room was just fine. All we planned to do was sleep in it and spend all the days out and about. The bathroom had a slight smell to it when we arrived, but we just opened the window and it was gone - old drain smell but again, expected with an old building. The room was very hot, even with the window open and we kept the fan running the whole time we were there. Of course it would be very expensive to install an air conditioning system throughout the hotel, so it's fair enough. Breakfast was wonderful, a good selection of continental and cooked breakfast - so much so we didn't have to eat lunch! I would say maybe, if you don't order the whole cooked breakfast and maybe just one or two things, up the number. I ordered sausage, hash brown, and beans on the second day and only got one sausage. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and would recommend. A travel hint: if you are travelling with a large suitcase or the likes from Kings Cross, I'd suggest taking the Metropolitan line up to Finchley Road and changing for the Jubilee back down to Swiss Cottage, rather than changing at Baker Street. The interchange at Baker Street is long and busy and it takes about the same time regardless.

"Uncomfortable"
If_the_truth_be_me, 27 Juillet 2018

Firstly the hotel does have character however this does come at a cost. I found the locks on my room which was on the ground floor to be old and dated (although it is in an affluent area it quite close to the tube station) Also upon checking my room clearly hadn't been cleaned properly (picture attached) and the decor is dated. Also it was extremely hit in the bedroom at night, they do provide fans but they're cheap and noisey. Personally I do think you can find a more comfortable hotel in the area for the same budget.

"Appalling"
timpreston28, 24 Juillet 2018

Recently stayed at this hotel for business and what a mistake that was. The hotel itself looks like a haunted house, its extremely old everything in the hotel creaks. The room itself was old, NO AIRCON which is pathetic. The room wasn't cleaned properly cobwebs, dust and also found a number of spiders in the room, Bed very uncomfortable, due to the time of year as well impossible to sleep as its so hot. They do have a fan in the cupboard its that noisy though you will struggle to sleep. Area itself my colleague and I went for a walk and its far from safe, there are some benches around 30 seconds from the hotel and everyday in the evening open use of drug use and a lot of unsavoury characters in the area so be careful of your surroundings. Not only would I not stay here again I would recommend the hotel is knocked down as its a shambles and one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Could be used as a haunted house experience. Dirty, old, no aircon, everything creaks, dust equals a terrible stay

"Always a joy"

"Great hotel and location "
Michisichi, 11 Juillet 2018

We know London and chose this hotel and where very pleased with the choice - breakfast was good as well. The only point to know - there are no air conditioned rooms - which is not great for 30 degree weather.

"Brief visit"
Ian B, 06 Juillet 2018

I stayed at Best Western from Tuesday 3rd July until Friday 6th July as I was attending a traing course in Swiss Cottage. I booked through booking.com and had pre ordered a parking place as I realised that there were only four parking spaces at this hotel. On arrival I had to prove (by showing a confirmation email)to the receptionist as she said that they didn't reserve car park places. However the reception staff were excellent in sorting this out in quick fashion and also gave me a tray of tea whilst sorting it out. The room itself (312) was basic but clean. TV didn't work very well but this didn't bother me. It was also very hot 30'c every day and not much cooler during the night. No air conditioning but there was a fan provided. Staff were very friendly and for me this is the most important factor. Compared to the cost of other hotels in the vicinity, Best Western is very good value.

"Staff not very knowledgeable "
Bob E, 04 Juillet 2018

Stayed a week here. Staff was not helpful at all when it came to inquiries about attraction and transportation. No concierge to help. Getting ice for room was troublesome. Will not stay here again. Too far from central London

"Good hotel"
Jade A, 28 Juin 2018

My mum and I stayed here for two nights due to concerts we were attending. The hotel is in the perfect location for Swiss Cottage tube station. The room was nice, we had a superior double which also had a nice sofa and desk in it as well as the bed/tv/bathroom etc. I found the bed to be comfortable and the room was clean. Unfortunately the milk was not replaced and neither were our mugs after the first night, the bathroom fan made such a loud noise and the people in the room next to us kept slamming their door. We had breakfast on one of the mornings which was a lovely buffet with cereal, pastries, yoghurts etc as well as a cooked breakfast from the menu. For two nights in London it was ideal and in a great location for the concerts we went to - one at The O2 and the other at Wembley. I would stay here again, there were only minor things wrong as I mentioned however it is a nice hotel in a great location.

"Visited for 1 night stay and have just re booked"
Jennifer P, 25 Juin 2018

We booked for a 1 night stay as we had tickets for Wembley to see Ed Sheeran. Easy tube links and not far from Camden Town. After our stay we explored Camden and we instantly wanted to visit the area again and straight away re booked with Best Western Swiss Cottage. The staff were polite and helpful and the room was spacious. Other hotels in the same price range don't compete with this hotel. We will see you again in August! xoxo

"Disability un-awareness and rude staff"
Lorna A, 24 Juin 2018

We booked a one night stay with 22 friends. We needed 1 disability access room and were assured we would get ine. They could not offer anything you could say met any disability criterior exceot a bathmat on request and a lift to our floor. it was a shower over an enamel bath, a toilet set into a walled recess that would not even have accomidated any large person let alone disabled. The lift has a heavy safety door as did our room so it was almost impossible to manage it without help and it's definitely not wheelchair big enough. The bathroom was long and narrow. Do not book this hotel if you have access needs. I even ticked a box on the sign in sheet asking if we needed a special help for fire evacuation and if so the staff would speak to us on booking in- nobody did. Together with the very rude curt Asian night man who seemed to get a lot of pleasure from shouting at guests and shutting the bar at 10pm and 5pm it was an experience not to repeat! Food was fine though there is inadequate table spaces for the demand which meant we queued for 15 minutes.

"Good value hotel in a great location"
adrianbM9607AF, 21 Juin 2018

This is a clean and quiet hotel in a good location near tube station and withing walking distance of Hampstead. I would recommend it - it's hard to fault within its price range with its clean and well appointed rooms and very comfortable lounge area and dining room. I would certainly return on my next trip to London.

"Great location for a London trip"
Simon M, 20 Juin 2018

Beautiful hotel in a great location. I had an amazing time in this hotel. Very close to Swiss Cottage tube station and with many shops etc just up the road this is a lovely, traditional yet well facilitated hotel for a trip to London. I would highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in London.

"DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL"
Regi612, 17 Juin 2018

If your understanding of a ‘Victorian style hotel' is a place with squeaky uneven floors, uncomfortable beds, windows that do not close, shower in which the water can only be set to icy cold, or scalding hot, then this hotel may be for you. If you are lucky to get a room right under the roof on the fourth floor, do not expect the elevator to bring you all the way to the top – it only goes to the third floor, and you will have to carry your bags up the steep long shaky steps.

"Cozy hotel near the subway station"
chriterj, 15 Juin 2018

Cozy hotel near the underground station. Nice location outside the city center, but it's only a short trip with the underground into the city center. Good hotel, good standard and nice atmosphere. Breakfast was nice with good selection. They serve freshly brewed coffee and tea at the table. In addition, you can choose between all types of eggs, bacon and sausages.

"Beautiful area and beautiful hotel"
GTi98, 10 Juin 2018

Rustic hotel situated in a great area, staff very attentive and very helpful , when there was a problem with the window in our room , I could not believe how fast the maintenance man had come and fixed the problem! Would definitely stay here again.

"Lovely abode -Home away from home"
rlefamily, 05 Juin 2018

The BW Swiss Cottage is ideally located minutes away from the tube and buses In a lovely neighborhood. It was so easy to get to all the places I wanted to visit whether by tube, bus or even by foot. There was a lovely Lebanese restaurant, Arabesque, within 2 minutes walking. The breakfast at the BW Swiss Cottage was very good- fresh fruit salad . made to order eggs, toast, pastry, yogurt, cereal... It was tasty and pleasant . well worth it to include the daily breakfast. the room was generally comfortable and the service at the hotel was fantastic. very courteous and helpful staff for all positions I encountered. I spent 5 nights here and was quite comfortable. The room is small but very functional and nicely furnished. It is a bit dated but comfortable and very clean. Getting in and out of the bathroom sometimes challenging, if you wanted to get something behind the door but it worked. the best recommendation... I would stay here again. Enjoy!

"Right in the middle"
STEPHEN L, 04 Juin 2018

This comfortable and inexpensive hotel is two or three underground stops from the heart of London. The rooms are clean and fulfill most needs. There is a small bar and you can choose to have breakfast her. There is always an outside Farmers type market just outside selling wonder cooked from all over the world. 30 seconds from the tube.

"Charming hotel"
bandishc2018, 04 Juin 2018

It's an absolutely lovely hotel, high ceilings with ornate mouldings, arm chairs and a beautiful bow window. The staff was excellent.in offering to accommodate me even though I was on crutches. The only challenge was the stairs to enter the hotel.

"quiet and remote to London"
Sherry P, 03 Juin 2018

Our travel agent picked this hotel for us and it was very much to the out skirts if you uber to London. The subway was close but my husband wouldn't get on it. Our bed was pushed together and had a crack in the middle. The room was big and the tub very deep.

"We wanted to love it..."
Dawn R, 01 Juin 2018

Swiss Cottage offers a great location at a reasonable price (for London). The people we encountered working there were pleasant. Our breakfast was good and the server lovely. But, we didn't sleep well as the first room was smelly (yes, smelled like sour milk) with a rock hard mattress. With kindness, Ian helpfully changed our room. The new room didn't smell nearly as bad (still didn't smell fresh) but the mattress again was uncomfortable. This time it was lumpy! At the risk of sounding like Goldilocks, I must say we are not particular travelers. It's just not okay to have poor sleep, no matter what the price of the room. We will not return.

"Absolutely lovely English hotel, a new favourite."
DvanDantzig, 28 Mai 2018

Imagine a typical English hotel - wallpaper, carpets, old furniture, a sprawling layout over several possibly once separate buildings, with some slightly uneven flooring, an ancient elevator for two, narrow staircase and passageways - in immaculate condition, beautifully maintained, staffed by absolutely lovely, friendly and knowledgeable people. Situated at a great location, close to a stop of the Jubilee underground line, connecting you to the heart of London in twenty minutes, or a bus stop at three minutes' walk taking you to the heart of Camden in ten minutes. A superb breakfast with a choice of continental or full English, or mix and match as you wish, served quickly, freshly and deliciously. You won't find fancy Italian coffee here (for that, just visit the farmers' market one minute from the hotel), but decent coffee and better, excellent black tea - with milk, of course. The breakfast selection is comprehensive, not ostentatious, and we enjoyed it every day (and would have many more days, had we been able to stay longer). The room was pleasantly, surprisingly cool, considering the temperatures during our visit - and also surprisingly light considering its ground floor location. Excellent bed and furnishings, perfectly adequate bathroom - not the biggest or most luxurious, but with all amenities we could want, and a welcome abundance of nicely large towels. Our stay at this Best Western Swiss Cottage was just about perfect: comfortable, cozy, quiet and relaxing. Having been to much bigger, much more luxurious hotels (thanks to work trips), I can honestly say this one would be in my top-5. Highly recommended, would visit again - and hopefully will.

"Comfortable and in a quiet area"
musketeer1645, 28 Mai 2018

We stayed here for 2 nights in 2 single rooms. It's an old building so the lift is very small while the corridors are rather narrow but the rooms were remarkably large for single rooms in central London. There were windows that opened as well and they had metal bars across them so I wasn't worried about leaving a window open overnight. The only criticism I would have is that the mattresses are a bit tired compared to some hotels. The breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a good selection on the hot food menu. We didn't use any of the other facilities but the lounge looked comfortable and the front desk staff were happy to look after our luggage for the day when we left, since our train wasn't until late afternoon. Swiss Cottage underground is a few minutes' walk away and, being on the Jubilee Line, there are frequent trains so it's easy to get to the various sights. Recommended.

"Excellent & friendly hotel"
Blintzbaby, 27 Mai 2018

Excellent hotel & friendly attitude by all staff. They always made time for any questions. Breakfast was included & great. Lots of choice. Stayed 8 nights & completely enjoyed our stay. Really close to the tube. Buckingham palace 10 min by tube. Recommend staying there.

"Great location"
Kate S, 27 Mai 2018

A clean and tidy hotel that offers a great location if travelling into the centre of London as it is so close to Swiss Cottage underground. The room we stayed in - upgraded to a family room for 3 - was pleasant but the furniture and fittings had seen better days. I would recommend it just for it's location. Breakfast was ok for the price (when paying on arrival) which seemed very reasonable for this part of London.

"A good choice for London visits at a reasonable price ."
cliffbooth, 23 Mai 2018

This hotel is full of character , very English ! Although there is a dining room for breakfast , the only day/night food service is limited to sandwiches and pizza etc . There is a bar serving drinks . It is extremely convenient for reaching anywhere one wishes to go in London , tube station is very nearby and there are plenty of local restaurants of every type within a short walking distance . A little further walk will take you to the fashionable neighbourhood of Primrose Hill and Hampstead high Street . The staff are very pleasant and helpful in a more intimate atmosphere .

"the best hidden secret"
Bibisch, 19 Mai 2018

Very friendly hotel with a very helpful staff, always ready to answer any questions. Location is excellent, very quiet area. A real english experience! The breakfast was simple and basic but good. Some of the bathroom appliance are a little bit old. Perfect hotel for a family trip to London with teenager. Second time I use this hotel and I will do it again!

"/Cojmforable, relaxed hotel in good are"
kierah, 14 Mai 2018

Our second visit to this hotel, which is small and friendly. We chose it because we used to live in the Swiss Cottage and Hampstead areas and were mostly visiting friends and family nearby. It is an easy bus, tube or taxi journey to the West End and there is a good choice of local shops, restaurants and coffee bars. Particularly liked the Hampstead Theatre cafe and enjoyed the Wednesday Farmers' Market, very near the hotel. A word of caution: there is a flight of stairs up to the hotel door and stairs down to the breakfast room.

"A personal approach that makes this Best Western better than all the rest"
Ingrid H, 09 Mai 2018

The staff at this Best Western go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and comfortable in this beautiful old Georgian building in a quiet leafy street in London. This hotel has Heart and Soul and it's thanks to great management, good team work, and a truly remarkable group of people who give so generously of themselves to make each guest feel "at Home"! Ian, Erika and Christian, thank you all for caring and for bringing your best selves to the work that you do. This hotel delivers Customer Care with genuine heart. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

"Nice hotel but triple rooms on 4th floor no lift"
Lisa M, 23 Avril 2018

We loved the hotel, friendly helpful staff. People working on reception gave great advice about seeing sights. Bar staff happy too. BUT we took a triple room that was located on the forth floor, lift only till the third floor, single beds no porter if you arrive after 10pm.

"A Cozy Experience in a Quiet Location"
Werner M, 19 Avril 2018

BWSC is an excellent option for those willing to stay at the Swiss Cottage / Belsize area. I like the building style, its old fashion decoration, the gentle + efficient staff and the quality of breakfast. Some minor disconforts due to the type of the building are easily forgiven. Surrounded by residential buildings only the BWSC makes you feel like actually living in London in more long term fashion.

"Disgusted"
AliG12399, 18 Avril 2018

I am currently staying in this ‘hotel' for one night only and have already decided I will not be returning. I have had a long, serious, busy day and hoped to come back to a nice relaxing place before another serious busy day tomorrow but instead I'm met with the creepiest building I have ever stepped foot in. Stuck in the Victorian period. Looks as though it hasn't been renovated since then either. Room filthy with dirt marks splattered against the walls. Dirty bathroom and towels. After all this I decided a nice shower would relax me. Oh no. Half an hour to warm up the dribble of a shower for it to get to a decent temperature only for it to change to scolding hot a moment later. Then it won't cool down. When it finally does it's freezing. In the end I have a stone cold shower trying to get my body wet in the dirty drizzle that is the shower. I'm so tense, angry and disgusted I will never return to a best western again. Needs shutting down.

"Very convenient, great location, reccomended"
Paolo S, 17 Avril 2018

Very well connected to different quadrants of London via bus or tube. Within walking distance from Hampstead village and park. Two minutes walk from the tube station. Clean rooms, excellent value for money.

"Love this hotel!"
694tala, 16 Avril 2018

Such a beautiful hotel, clean and comfortable. The rooms are perfect, the staff is nice and helpful, great breakfast, very close to a tube station. Will defiantly go there again. Very recommended! *****

"Charming and beautiful place."
sergiovS3428MS, 13 Avril 2018

A very nice vintage hotel, beautiful and charming place, in a classical victorian house, located in a typical english street. At Swiss Cottage Hotel you know you are in England,... and for the better.

"Very pleasant stay"
one7c, 12 Avril 2018

Coming to the end of a four night stay. Love the quirky nature of the hotel - a combination of a few grand houses. Staff were pleasant and efficient (although to be fair I didn't need to have much interaction with them). My room was comfortable, spacious and clean. My only one niggle (hence 4*s) was that the shower was temperamental. It's an old fashioned system attached to the bath taps. The water pressure and temperature varied and was not regulated - hence during a shower the water temp went from cool to extremely hot and the flow went from a dribble to powerful (often with a significant change in water temperature). Despite the above, I would definitely stay again.

"Highly Recommended"
RocketRacoon, 09 Avril 2018

A very well maintained hotel with British style. Ideally located, close to underground and bus stations. Helpful staff, spacious room and comfortable bedding. Kids friendly. One of the best place to stay in our experience.

"Peaceful location with easy access to Central London"
ratchet4, 05 Avril 2018

Stayed for a couple of nights in a ground floor room. It was perfectly quiet with no street noise. The room was large with a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. Breakfast was decent although the cooked breakfast was served a little cold. Staff were warm and helpful. A very short walk to Swiss Cottage tube in zone 2 so very quick and easy to get into the centre. A couple of bars and cafes within walking distance but the real bonus for us was how quiet and safe the area was. Would definitely stay again.

"Lovely place, poor service"
Andrew T, 03 Avril 2018

Arrived here around 7.30, pleasant enough greeting. Room clean, except the piece of condom wrapper beside the bedside table leg. Sorry, but propper clean does matter! Went for a walk after a long journey on the train, couple of pints, then came home for a bite to eat. Bar shut, it was 11.15, sort of fair enough, but then it is a bloody hotel, even the Ibis keeps the bar open. Asked for room service, gruff lad on reception says not a chance. All I Cn say is breakfast d better be bloody good. Or it goes down t one out of five!

"OK, Good location to Tube Staff nice"
Thomo61, 31 Mars 2018

OK, Good location to Tube Staff nice. Stayed as part of a group. It was good price for London. Albeit slightly away from anything in an evening. BUT the tube is less than a 3 minute walk. The hotel reception staff are very efficient and friendly. The rooms [ I had a double] mine was OK. My colleagues had singles and could not swing a cat. The Bar service is Poor, you have to ring a bell and eventually a chap turns up, you order and then eventually it turns up. Then he is off again and repeat. I did wake up to a cockroach walking across the floor - Which is the very first time in any UK hotel I have had this.

"Classy but comfy "
JRobertsBowie, 22 Mars 2018

I stayed here for one night recently on a business trip. This hotel is located in a gorgeous town house with appropriately Regency style decor in the public areas. My room was on the top floor and would have been difficult for those with accessibility requirements as the lift only goes to the third floor. Similarly, the breakfast room is down a very steep set of stairs on a sharp bend. I slept well although the room was a little stuffy this was easily adjusted by opening the window - I was facing the quieter side of the street. My room was large but the bathroom only had a shower and was very narrow. Breakfast was good. Provisions in the room were basic: Nescafé and a single biscuit, but I didn't need anything else.

"First Class.........."
andrewpJ5276GW, 10 Février 2018

First class from beginning to end. The hotel was lovely and comfortable and the staff were so nice. I have stayed in many more expensive hotels which do not measure up to this one. I will defenately be staying again.

"Very good well located hotel."
prestonredmufc, 02 Février 2018

Excellent location, about a minute walk from Swiss Cottage Tube station. Close to bars, restaurants, shops and take aways. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious with ample wardrobe and cupboard space. The bar was nice, although the range of drinks available was rather limited. The price represented good value for money by London standards. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

"Great property let down by poor staff "
tonyb_174, 27 Janvier 2018

Very good. Nice rooms and a decent reasonable breakfast. Proper three star property. However, check-in was unpleasant due to grumpy receptionist. He obviously doesn't like customers. If not for his very poor customer service, I probably would have given this property five stars.

"Excellent stay"
Philip B, 23 Janvier 2018

We had a very enjoyable visit. The hotel is so well placed, only minutes on the tube from central London and Bond Street Our room was clean and beautifully presented, bathroom spacious with excellent shower. We opted for breakfast and weren't disappointed, lots of choice with friendly helpful staff. We make particular mention of the reception staff who couldn't be more helpful, especially Ian who catered for our every need. Thank you for a memorable stay.

"London trip 2018"
Doreen E, 22 Janvier 2018

Both my husband and I enjoyed a very comfortable stay with welcoming and accommodating staff. In a great location, close to London Underground which enabled us to see everything we had wanted on our 2 day trip.

"Good bargain in London"
Linda S, 14 Janvier 2018

We chose the Swiss Cottage Best Western, because it was near relatives we planned to visit and near a subway stop. It was very nice and very convenient. Our room was large and comfortable. We would stay there again.

"Quiet gem"
Mick P, 11 Janvier 2018

This is a lovely old fashioned hotel in a very, very quiet street in a quiet part of London, yet only two minutes from the tube and 20 minutes from the West End. The decor is old style but the towels and sheets are perfect, the rooms are generally spacious and the bathrooms are modern and well-equipped. Tremendous value for money.

"Excellent hotel comfort and location - better than in city center! "
Irina R, 08 Janvier 2018

Me and my husband generally liked everything in this hotel: clean room with comfort bed, good bathroom. Big tasty breakfast, so it is good to include it to the room rate from the beginning. This building old style, but very modern even equipped with elevator/lift. Next to tube/underground station - just buy Oyster card and enjoy fast traveling through London with discount. Good WiFi in the hotel room.

"Best 'Best Western' in London"
BigALittleA, 08 Janvier 2018

Lovely spacious room, unusual for London, good standard of cleanliness. Mattress was a bit lumpy ... :( ..... Breakfast had good choice with clean resteraunt area. Helpful staff. Close to the tube and only 15 mins into central areas of London. Good area for shops and restaurants without having to go into centre of London. would definitely recommend this hotel.

"great location"
ankarali-gurme, 27 Décembre 2017

I stayed there years ago (in 2009) with my family. The location is great, the area is safe and quiet, very close to the underground. the hotel, rooms and furniture are old and wornout. All London hotels are too expensive comparing to the service they offer, so it is also same for this hotel. But it is still a good option for a safe and convenient place to stay.

"Wonderful room in a somewhat outdated setting"
JoepC_de_Jong, 21 Décembre 2017

We stayed at this hotel in December 2017. We enjoyed the really well-sized room and the lovely breakfast that was served in a professional, friendly way. We were somewhat surprised by the sturdy welcome we received upon arrival. No welcome greeting, no smile, nothing of the kind. Logistically everything was in order, however we expected something a little different in the hospitality industry and a big player like Best Western. If you need to be in this area and are looking for a spacious room this is certainly a place to consider.

"Good location"
A3944CSjulief, 18 Décembre 2017

Great location, comfortable beds, large room, nice bathroom, would have scored higher if the shower was more powerful. This was our second time in this hotel and will definitely use it again in the future

"Great location, helpful staff, tasty breakfast."
cerrys1, 17 Décembre 2017

I have been staying at this hotel regularly ( every 2 weeks at one point) over the past 3 years when I completed a 3 yr course. It's in a really good location, next to 2 theatres, near great street food stalls and mainstream shops as well as being a few mins away from the tube station. The staff are warm and friendly - especially Ian Jackman who really went out of his way to make sure my room/hotel service was first class. The breakfast is varied with a wide range of food and lots of it. The rooms have recently been updated and are clean and functional - free bottled water/ tea & coffee/ biscuits/ magazines/newspapers. Travelling as a lone female I was made to feel welcome and as if nothing was too much trouble. Rooms on the 2nd floor seem larger. If there is no water in the room, just ask the staff. The main lounge has a bar area and has a table with complimentary magazines.Highly recommend this hotel and the staff.

"My favourite London hotel"
Amanda W, 12 Décembre 2017

I've stayed at the Best Western Swiss Cottage several times and it remains my London hotel of choice. In a city where the average hotel room is tiny and rates are inflated, it offers superb value for money. As the reviews say, it's a fantastic location and the staff are great. It's worth paying that little bit more for a superior room: for £76 a night (pre-paid) I had a huge double room on the ground floor, with a beautiful floor-to-ceiling bay window which faced onto the street. It was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable and on the coldest night of the year it stayed toasty warm. It's true the fixtures and fittings are perhaps rather tired but for me, it adds to the quirky old-world charm of the place; and if a modern refurbishment doubled the price, I'd rather it stayed as it was. More like a lovely old house than a chain hotel, and a real home-from-home in London.

"Great place to stay when visiting london"
RichardSCostello, 12 Décembre 2017

perfect hotel in quiet location very close to underground ( 3 stops from centre ) , great breakfast , excellent value .rooms area little dated but clean and great staff . not much parking at hotel but a good secure car park 150 m away which we used

"Very good value for London hotel"
Geoffrey T, 29 Novembre 2017

Handy for the tube, although this station is not handicapped accessible , buses etc and in walking distance of Regents Park . Plenty of eating places nearby and an interesting lesser known part of London .

"a jewel in Swiss Cottage"
Bibisch, 28 Novembre 2017

very nice hotel, well located; friendly staff and very helpful; made my stay very enjoyable; very quiet area so close to the center of the city (4 stops to Bond street). Highly recommend this place for the feeling of being home so far from home!

"Don't expect too much"
Tonywk, 27 Novembre 2017

I am staying at the hotel now. 2.5-3.0 at the best. The room lacks basic amenity such as the heater in the living room, which does not work. The cabinet door ajar. I have not tested the hot water yet. It was strange that house service constantly does room check but never realize the broken amenities. The room deco are back in the 60s with electric fittings showing bad workmanship

"Quiet traditional-style hotel in a nice neighbourhood"
39parolles, 21 Novembre 2017

This isn't a boutique hotel experience, but it offers all the important stuff: clean and comfortable accommodation (with wifi and tea/coffee facility) and pleasant helpful staff. You're only a two minute walk from Swiss Cottage tube station (which is only a short journey to the city centre) and there's a good selection of eateries, convenience shops and a decent pub in the locality.

"The Perfect English Breakfast"
AlanLucas, 13 Novembre 2017

This hotel is rather traditional and old fashioned looking but in a good way and I was amazed at how homely and luxurious it felt as the price I paid. The staff were mostly very helpful and the service at breakfast was top notch and the food was beautifully cooked. I will be returning here on my trips to London _ great location near the tube and Hampstead theatre.

"Interview"
Katie M, 11 Novembre 2017

It was a fair price for the location and for what I required for the trip. The staff seemed friendly enough, although decor was outdated and the walls a tad too thin. Breakfast of £11 is quite steep but then that's London prices for you. Let's say an incident occurred at breakfast that was addressed correctly, although only through my persistence. I wouldn't go back but it did serve it's purpose.

"Steve and Sharon from Massachusetts"
steveph2017, 01 Novembre 2017

My wife and stayed at the hotel from Sept. 25th to Sept. 30th and 12th Oct. to 15th Oct. with a visit to Normandy in between. Great location / close to Tube and local restaurants (recommend Italian restaurant / Finchley road - 5 mins walk from the hotel). Located in quiet street. Local area has considerable charm. Hotel staff cannot do enough to help you, from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Ian (reception) is especially helpful. My wife and I wanted a larger room with a couch. Although not available during initial stay, Ian was able to provide us with one for the remaining 3 nights. Ian also allowed us to remain in our room beyond the check-out time to coincide with our limo return to Heathrow. Hotel provides an excellent breakfast, with varied selection. Definitely plan to stay at the Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel on our next trip to London.

"You get what you pay for"
R4606RMjeanb, 29 Octobre 2017

Very pleasant and right next to the tube. Only a few things let it down. The curtains could do with some cleaning especially the nets. Also there was a very large damp patch in our room which had been addressed but did not appear to have been decorated over which gave it a very bad impression - we were in room 111

"Good value"
PAR632014, 29 Octobre 2017

Good value hotel. Needs a little bit of an update in some places and some rooms have very small bathrooms. The floors are incredible creaky and noisy - especially at night. Breakfast options are good and breakfast staff are always extremely friendly and pleasant. It is a great value hotel close to tubes for access to central London.

"Big rooms, good location"
Francisco Jose A, 28 Octobre 2017

Nice hotel, very close to a tube station (Zone 2, ticket a bit more expensive than Zone 1). Quite neighbourhood, in a residential area. No noise. Very big room, big bathroom too. Strong wifi signal. Cafeterias and restaurants nearby. Comfortable bed, though not very firm. Room was clean and tidy. Good option for 3-4 nights in London. Staff was very helpful.

"Nice stay"
JonathanRowe, 11 Octobre 2017

Nice hotel situated in a quiet residential area near to St John's Wood tube. We were on the top floor (lift only went up to floor below but no problem for us) and had a good sized room for London. Décor a bit shabby, definitely needs sprucing up but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast, thank you

"excellent stay"
M1892IXlisal, 08 Octobre 2017

excellent hotel, the rooms were extremely clean , the beds are comfortable and warm. Excellent for a city break as tube is two minutes walk from the hotel. I went with a friend and we felt very safe walking around the area at night. Brilliant for a city break, I would definitely book again.

"Excellent Service - Good Hotel"
Denise T, 07 Octobre 2017

We love north London and decided on this hotel over our usual one in Hampstead. We loved it - yes, our room was a bit tired looking but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The public lounge area is very tastefully decorated and there are lots of lovely paintings and knick knacks about to give it an individual feel. The girls in the breakfast room are lovely - and a special thank you to Ewa who couldn't do enough for us. She was so pleasant and helpful :) We would stay here again without question. Good tube connections and the Hampstead theatre is close (so close that, during the interval of a play we were seeing, we nipped back to the hotel for a 'comfort visit' instead of waiting in line at the theatre loos!!)

"Great location. "
Em W, 01 Octobre 2017

Great location and friendly staff. Basic and clean but good value for a London hotel. Very close to the tube. Parking is a bonus if you can get a space. Customer service exceptional. The lift is handy too if you have mobility issues.

"beautiful, quiet and safe"
Annette M, 01 Octobre 2017

A comfortable hotel in one of the most pleasant neighbourhoods in London, very clean and safe, beautiful houses a lot of vegetation. The hotel room was very large and pleasant even if it was in the basement. The only negative point was the Wi Fi which didn't work in the bedroom though it worked in the breakfast room. The man at the desk is very professional and the staff is very nice and helpful.

"Tired and now very basic, one receptionist a bit short with customers."
carrick_sw, 18 Septembre 2017

The hotel is a row of houses joined and converted. The lift does not go to the top (fourth floor) and there is a narrow staircase. The location itself is very good with a tube nearby. A little love and this would be a good hotel but its architecture will always stop it being a great one without a LOT of money being spent and taking it up market. The top floor room showers have little pressure and really should have pumps in them to be any use. There is a lounge bar but it is very limited in scope. The receptionist we dealt with was very terse and abrupt with us and we heard him arguing with another guest. I think he is in the wrong job. Hints: If arriving by tube, use the Eton Avenue exit. Tell the hotel in advance you cannot climb stairs.

"good place to stay"
patriciadY7968XQ, 13 Septembre 2017

very helpful reception staff with good knowledge of London going out of their way to help you with any question you may have regarding getting to different places and where there may be a good restaurants in the area you are planning to visit

"A bit tired looking but served its purpose"
Peter G, 12 Septembre 2017

The hotel is old inside - decor, furnishings and bathroom. Bed was uncomfortable and shower poor. Breakfast good. Staff excellent. Especially at breakfast, and the cleaners. But I slept well. So can't complain. And quiet location.

"Wonderful Value and Excellent Service"
maxjenBrundall, 11 Septembre 2017

A small hotel but with a large lounge beautifully and delightfully decorated.and a wonderful choice of comfortable classic chairs that you just sink into!. The bedrooms are nicely appointed although our bathroom was on the small side. What really makes this hotel an absolute pleasure is the excellent service you receive from all the staff - they are very welcoming and could not be more pleasant or helpful. The breakfast provides a comprehensive choice, is well presented and the hot food is beautifully cooked. The location could not be better - in a quiet street of classic Georgian properties and yet only 100 yards from the tube. An absolute gem and I will be staying her on my future trips to London.

"Very poor quality and old fashioned to expensive "
Maria W, 10 Septembre 2017

Very old fashion , room it's never changed bed sheets for 5 days, dust everywhere, lot of places need to be look after and refurbishing but seams like they're not investing money to do so. Bigger room expensive for what you get but very quiet and clean enough to stay in London, close to the centre and in a very good area. Food terrible and microwave look! Anyway very English style and downstairs quiet nice and comfortable for people to enjoy. Furniture need to be replaced as broken , broken hair dry, and very old curtains. As you can see on photos.

"Lads weekend"
Tim M, 10 Septembre 2017

The convenient location of this hotel is what sold it to us. However the room was on the top floor, the floor boards creaked, the shower was a dribble, there was a half eaten pizza in our room when we arrived and we think we had some small 'friends' in the room as two of us had bites in the morning. The accommodation is tired but the staff were friendly, helpful and looked after our luggage after checkout. The location is its main feature.

"Great choice, deserves more stars"
151lauryf, 06 Septembre 2017

Very nice old fashioned British ambience, pretty lounge, excellent location as it is both quiet and very near the Tube allowing easy access to sightseeing. Room was kept spotless and staff was very helpful. Terrific breakfast, comfortable beds, water pressure just fine.

"A Cosy place to stay"
Eunice M, 04 Septembre 2017

My husband and I stayed there for six nights for our vacation from 25th to 31st august 2017. We enjoyed our stay but for flying insects and mosquitoes that besieged our room which was in the basement. We complained and staff promised to do something but nothing was done. This problem statred on the third night when the cleaner left the window open and we did not know. The room was roomy and comfortable for 2 people to stay. It was also very clean, the staff were very helpful. The best part of the hotel is the location. It is in a quiet residential area, very close to the train station and Finchely road where you can get buses to different parts of london. Also there are lots of places to eat in the neighborhood. It is value for money if you do not eat the breakfast which cost £12 per person. I read some of the reviews by earlier guests and responses by the hotel. The promises made by the hotel to address guests' complaints have not being executed. The hotel is a bit old fashioned so for you to enjoy your stay do not expect to find what you get in hotels in Dubai. We had a good experience and will stay there again when we are in London. Eunice

"Friendly, convenient hotel close to all London facilities"
elli0tsim0ns, 04 Septembre 2017

Mixed business with pleasure and stayed at best western Swiss Cottage. A very positive experience. Efficient and friendly staff make this small hotel a real pleasure. Very conveniently located a few minutes away from Swiss Cottage Tube station.

"Wonderful Stay"
Yasmin S, 03 Septembre 2017

My boyfriend and I stayed three nights in the hotel. It was wonderful, we got an upgrade free of charge in the room. The room was clean and well made. The location of the hotel was perfect and right on front of the tube station.

"Holiday"
Paul S, 29 Août 2017

Location was great. Hotel is tired and the interior (the rooms) need a renovation. The rooms had wardrobes but the doors didn't open. The reception area, bar etc are in good condition. Breakfast was good. Staff are very friendly. Not sure if this hotel is worth the money we paid for 5 night.

"Disappointing"
473toffyb, 25 Août 2017

We have stayed at this hotel at least twice a year for the past few years. We like its position . We have always felt pleased with it . The staff are very friendly and helpful. However, on our last two visits we have been met with disappointment. At Christmas we had plumbing issues , which were dealt with and we were promised an upgrade on our next visit. We were there this week and the room we were given was awful...even though my husband has a best western platinum card. It was so small ,dated...shabby even....but the bathroom was absolutely appalling ...so small one could hardly move and there was nowhere to put ones wash bags. I am 61 and my husband is 71 ...the shower was tiny ....if you bent down to pick something up you hit your head on the wall. I am not a big person particularly ...but if someone was 6ft tall their head would not fit under the shower. A larger person would not have moved in the shower. If one had any disability it would have been impossible to shower. A depressing room. We were moved on to the fourth floor for the second night ....but although a bigger room it was like a boarding house. I had to squeeze past a tiny gap to get to my side of the double bed. Luckily I am fit and not big! The bathroom again was awful. The staff were pleasant but we feel let down as we have been fairly frequent customers. The breakfast was fine for us ...but was not freshly cooked.,.the bacon was dry and hard. The tea not that hot. It was not THAT cheap to stay there....we have come back and compared some prices and we do feel let down by Best Western and this hotel...insignificant as our custom obviously is. It is time for a revamp methinks.

"Enormous room with Street outlook"
TerrywithaY, 25 Août 2017

London is always difficult when it comes to hotels - the prices are excessive and often location equates to a small room. This little gem off the main drag in a leafy suburb near regents park was a pleasant surprise. Created from a row of Victorian homes this quaint vintage hotel has lots of nooks and crannies and staircases but that seems to add to the charm not distract from it. Their is a small lift for those higher floors but the breakfast room is 'below stairs' so be careful descending. Our room was enormous with a parlour feel to it with large windows overlooking the street below. Old style furnishings that are a little dated but a reasonably modern bathroom. Tea and coffee, tv and friendly staff. Breakfast was very substantial and if purchased upon arrival or earlier was discounted! Overall a great stay - good location to Swiss Cottage underground and bus nearby to Camden Markets. We walked to Primrose Hill and Regents park to stretch our legs! Sainsbury's on the main drag with a variety of shops and great cafes.

"Convenient location for public transport , after finding Hotel"
333maureens, 23 Août 2017

As I was invited out most of the time, I only needed the Hotel to sleep and wash. The location is excellent, near to bus and tube, It is also good to have a kettle with a choice of teas , coffees and biscuits. The 11am check-out with free of charge left luggage was also helpful. It was excellent value for money on my chosen dates.

"A very decent hotel"
Kenneth S, 22 Août 2017

Courteous, friendly and helpful staff. The premium king room I stayed in was spacious and very nice, with a really comfy queen bed and great en-suite. I didn't bother with breakfast so cannot advise on that. Not exactly Central London, but Swiss Cottage tube station is only 200 yards away. I used the nearby car park, which was very reasonably priced at £10 per day when booked in advance. Only thing that went wrong was the hairdryer broke while using it, but that's hardly the hotel's fault!

"Quiet hotel just off of the beaten track"
Alec B, 18 Août 2017

Had two stays here recently, one for two nights and a week later one night. Situated in a quiet leafy road a couple of minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of Finchley Road and Swiss Cottage tube. The rooms although not having the most modern decor were comfortable with modern bathrooms. We didn't take breakfast or eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food.

"So quiet!!"
Mick P, 09 Août 2017

This is a little gem....tucked away in a silent tree-lined street in Belsize Park, it is a real find. Room was spotlessly clean, and whilst the furnishings are a bit dated the bed was comfy and the bathroom was modern.

"Fab hotel"
holsfanatic, 06 Août 2017

Stayed for 1 night to see a show in the west end, arrived early and left the car at the back of the hotel, the very friendly receptionist arranged for our bags to be kept in luggage room until we returned later in the day,we downloaded the app for the uber taxis, and this was a Fantasic way to get about, arrived back to check in,was given our rooms which were lovely, big white fluffy towels and toiletries, tea and coffee provided and nice clean linen on the beds,no the views arnt great but all in all comfortable.went out that evening to Camden and came back at 10pm and asked for a nightcap but the porter who served the drinks had gone home so didn't get one, which was a slight disappointment, the breakfast the next day was excellent, great choice of fruit, cheese pastries yogurt and the full English with choice of eggs, and again the waiting staff were all very pleasant...the staff is what makes this hotel and I would defiantly stay again for the ease of getting to it and then exploring London and of course the staff, keep up the great attitude Swiss Cottage employees you did great...

"reliable and (fortunately) predictable"
rosstucker, 29 Juillet 2017

Once again we stayed for a week at the Swiss Cottage. It's an old-fashioned place that is an escape from the tourist congestion and noise of central London. Our room was large and convenient. Breakfast is ample and sensible -- with extras available for a price. (The breakfast staff are very obliging.) The front desk staff are always cheerful and helpful. We like this hotel: we've stayed there for a number of years. It does have eccentricities, but they just add to the old-fashioned charm of the place.

"Good old girl in need of a bit of a refurb"
Silkman2013, 27 Juillet 2017

We stayed for two nights and read the previous reviews with interest. There are several plus points and a few minus ones. Plus. Very near tube for the Jubilee line. We didn't know London that well but we actually walked to Covent Garden, through Regents Park, passed the zoo, which only took about 45 minutes. We also caught the bus, not far from the hotel to Camden Town, which took about 10 minutes. We wish we had spent the day there as it was very quirky with lots of stalls, bars and eateries. From there we walked to Euston Station which was about 15 minutes away. Downstairs public rooms retained a lot of charm. Staff were very helpful. Breakfasts were worth the money. If you want softball eggs make sure you ask for them. Ours came hard the first morning but after requesting softball they were perfect.comfy bed. Minus. We were right at the top of the hotel. Very hot even though it wasn't that warm outside. A fan was supplied however. We felt sorry for the people underneath us as the floods creaked with every move. Because we were at the top the water pressure was virtually zero. Stairs down to restaurant quite narrow although there is a handrail. On the whole we did enjoy our stay there. If you do your homework and know what to expect you wont be disappointed.

"Expensive For What It Is"
ElksLondon, 19 Juillet 2017

Not hugely impressed by this place. I had a single room which was very small & old fashioned for the £100 plus charge even though I'd booked months in advance. We had a brief drink in the bar which only had bottled beers at eye watering prices. Breakfast was very average & hadn't been freshly cooked. The one plus side is the position which is only 100 metres or so from Swiss Cottage tube in a quiet side street.

"Quiet, comfortable and well located, with amazing attention to details"
doglaw, 18 Juillet 2017

This was not our first choice, but turned out to be a great choice, right by the tube and bus surrounded by many options. We were place in a room on the bottom floor, sub street level, but it too turned out to be an amazing stroke of luck: the room was spacious and cool. They had a fan in the wardrobe which was a phenomenal touch, especially as we were there on one of the hottest days in decades. The electricity adapter loaner was also much appreciated. It turned out to be these little things that made our trip. Our minor complaint is that the front door was push from the outside but had a pull handle!

"Not competing for a place in the worlds top 100000 cocktail bars"
GreatRedWine, 13 Juillet 2017

its advertised as having a cocktail bar so Imet there for a pre dinner cocktail with friends. I waited for a few minutes in a pleasant room in my (comfortable) chair. Then, no sign of service, I went to the bar. No sign of a barman but I spotted the bell. I sat down while I waited some more. Someone appeared on the second ring and told me that another person would be along shortly. A few minutes later they turned up and took my order. The poorly stocked bar didn't offer much scope for cocktails so I ordered a gin and tonic. Can't go wrong with that can you? Warm Gin, warm tonic. Do I get enough ice to make the drink cold or will I end up with watery G&T? Decisions Decisions. Neither prospect was inviting. I asked for a little ice. Ice melted almost instantly. Watery Gin anyway! Didn't stay for a second though I could write another episode about my companions rum and orange. I can't comment on the hotel accommodation at all since I didn't stay. But I'll judge a book by its cover and if a "cocktail bar" can't serve up a competent G&T (for £8.50) its not going to get a rave review. If you are going to have a bar in a hotel then it needs to be a decent one, otherwise don't bother.

"Beats expectations - comfortable and quiet "
troubleinthecit... t, 12 Juillet 2017

This is not a modern hotel but it is clean, well maintained and has a real charm about it. The communal areas are large and spacious with nice pictures on the walls, chandeliers and plenty of space. I booked a single room for one night and had low expectations because the price was quite good for London. I was genuinely pleasantly surprised. I had a lovely large room in the eves on the top floor, with a wooden ceiling! Bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of storage space. There is a modern TV. The only thing that was poor about the room was the shower - it was a pathetic dribble. Simply replacing the shower head with a more modern one would have solved that problem and it is disappointing that the hotel management have not made that small investment. Breakfast was included and was very good. Not just a full cooked breakfast but also poached or boiled eggs, bread rolls and cheeses with cucumber and tomatoes, cereals. Everything you need. Breakfast room is old-fashioned but by this point I had been completely won over by the retro nature of this place and decided I quite liked that aspect of it too! The staff I met were all friendly. The bar prices are very reasonable indeed for a London hotel and the bar itself is located in a really quite lavish lounge with high ceilings and comfortable seating. All in all, highly recommended.

"quiet and quite nice!"
Randy S, 10 Juillet 2017

Great location and we loved our large first-floor room. Understand that it's an old structure, but clean, comfortable, and a delicious breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful in answering our questions re. local travel. Definitely recommend!

"Good location for Lords, great breakfast"
RitchieShropshire, 09 Juillet 2017

Stopped here for 2 nights while visiting Lords to watch England v S Africa. It was hot! Not far from Euston and walking distance to Lords (about half hour stroll). Lovely area. Hotel had character (some might say dated but i don't think that would be fair because service, food and cleanliness were very good). If you want modern and minimalist then this is not the place for you. Be careful when booking through booking.com that you have evidence that breakfast is included otherwise you may be charged again! No fan in room but soon arrived when requested. Hairdryers were rubbish - you might want to think about updating those! Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice and fast service. Thank you for a great stay.

"Clean handy for tube"
Wendy B, 08 Juillet 2017

Myself and the hubby stayed for 2 nights the tube only a short walk away and plenty of local shops great for hopping in and out of london. It was clean, bathroom very nice enough space, had no problems at all and would stay again.

"Ok for one night... "
Emma S, 06 Juillet 2017

Stayed with a group of friends as we had a concert booked at Wembley. Minute walk from Swiss Cottage tube station which was ideal. Rooms dares but clean and the twin rooms were a good size. Bathrooms small but again clean. There did not seem to be much by the way of bars/restaurants nearby but a taxi to Camden Town was £6.

"Weekend break"
Rosanna H, 06 Juillet 2017

We had a wonderful weeken break, the hotel was lovely and so were all the staff. The room was also lovely and spacious, breakfast was great and the perfect way to start our days in London. Oh and by the way go and see Aladdin it's superb.

"Not up to standard. "
kwtDerbyshire, 06 Juillet 2017

Great location, 2 minutes from tube and in a lovely area. However, the hotel needs a revamp. The room (301) we were given had an appalling, cramped bathroom. The shower curtain was mouldy and then the shower mixer would not switch from bath to shower mode. Had to call maintenance, who used brute force to do it, but you would have had a better shower, if you had used a watering can! We could not be moved as hotel was full, so had to put up with it until second night. The alternative room was better, but still warm and small. I guess £100 per night is not a fortune to stay in London, but felt this was not good value and have had better facilities in so called budget chains. Must say that the receptionist was excellent though.

"London stay"
190735Carol, 03 Juillet 2017

Had a comfortable stay staff very friendly well located close to tube station would definitely return good selection of breakfast reasonably priced. Bar available with bar snacks was very useful. It was a good place to stay to visit London

"Well Place hotel"
victoriahH3795ID, 03 Juillet 2017

The hotel is ideally located to the tube station, it was ideal for us as we went to an event at Wembley Stadium. The location on Eton ave was really nice, we walked to The Washington pub at the end of the ave it was very pleasant. The Hotel has lots of character, lovely high ceilings, large rooms.

"OK for one night."
Anne W, 26 Juin 2017

I arrived at this hotel at 9pm and left next morning 9am. Comfortable room, good breakfast. I would reccomend. Difficult to find. London cab drivers did not know where this hotel was. Found with difficulty.

"OK Hotel, Very Cool Neighborhood"
Onekemi, 24 Juin 2017

I always prefer to stay off the beaten path and the Best Western Swiss Cottage did not disappoint. It was a diverse, residential area with cute shops, restaurants, a theatre (both live and IMAX), and vey conveniently located off of the "tube". The hotel itself, from the outside, looked like a huge BnB; however, the inside was a different case. I had seen commercials that BW was trying to rebrand and up their game, so I expected the hotel and the rooms to be modern, with all of the amenities that a hotel should have...like air conditioning! Thank goodness it wasn't terribly hot and the room had a fan. When I booked the room, I asked for a double, thinking I would have two beds, but it meant a double bed, so we had to ask for a cot, which made it very cramped in the already tiny room. Did I mention how small the room was??? It was maybe 10x12. When I asked about the cost of the cot, I was told it would only be 15 pounds for the whole stay, but at checkout, of course they wanted to charge per night, which I refused to pay. And the size of shower was comical, it was so small. And the elevator as well, as two people with two suit cases couldn't get on at the same time. That being said, I did appreciate the low water tank and the other efforts the hotel took to be green. The staff was not rude, but they didn't go out of their way to be very friendly either. No one offered to help with our luggage or offered any assistance or tips for getting around London, etc. In fairness, we didn't ask, but it would have been nice if someone offered. We had to ask for wash cloths because the room only had hand and bath towels and it was nearly impossible to use those big towels in that tiny shower. The room furniture, wall paper, and carpeting were very dated, and it wasn't clear if this was intentional to make them look like antiques or if everything was just OLD. For the price, it was okay, but I wouldn't stay there again.

"Poor hotel in great neighborhood"
Oded M, 23 Juin 2017

The stuff at front desk where not friendly not professional and not reliable. The bed was very narrow . There was no air-condition in the room and it was extremely hot in the room. The drainage in bath tub was blocked twice and dirty sewage water came out into the bath tub. The shower water flow was very poor and it was hardly possible to make a shower. The floors in the entire hotel are cracking and noisy and you can hear every step someone is doing in other rooms.

"Great location and amazing staff"
hollypartridge, 22 Juin 2017

Lovely hotel in a leafy suburb. Easy walk to attractions such as Primrose Hill and London Zoo. Very close to tube stations and local restaurants and facilities. Staff are really friendly and helpful, and couldn't do enough to ensure a pleasant stay. Hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren which is to be expected in a period property that has been converted to a hotel, but this may be a bit different for international travellers.

"Seemingly far from the action but perfectly placed for experiencing London ."
tomo628, 21 Juin 2017

Certainly a hidden gem. My family still speaks of how we fell in love with the Swiss Village area. Hotel is a pleasant surprise and well priced for a 5 night stay. Larger rooms than in town , perfect for group of four. Good breakfast bar at reasonable price. Tube station is a block away . which is the center of town, with a movie theatre, the pub, food trucks and a theatre with excellent plays and a nice food and bar area. You can walk to a Marriott down the street with several restaurants ,a grocery store and gym spa facility nearby.

"Great value great location"

"Very enjoyable London stay"
F1775QAjosephb, 06 Juin 2017

We enjoyed our time in Swiss Cottage during May. Excellent location, and historically interesting hotel. Within a few paces of Swiss Cottage tube station, a shortish walk to Belsize Park and Hampstead Heath.

"Hotel"
knome6, 05 Juin 2017

We stayed here for 4 nights. It is a great hotel and very well situated. Erika on reception is excellent. She spent time going over maps and printing out information for me. The hotel is 2 seconds from the jubilee line which I found easy to follow. The Hampstead Theater is also 2 seconds away so we went on Saturday night. We were also near the Odeon picture theater so we saw a movie. The breakfast staff at the hotel were very attentive. One complaint was the cleaning. Not up to scratch and one day didn't replace the toiletries. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Oh and the room we had was very spacious.

"Good location, rude staff!!!"
fairwayus, 31 Mai 2017

During our stay at this hotel we've had problems with hot water in our rooms. When we tried to report it to receptionist Ian Jackman all we've received was extremely rude response in line with "if you don't like it here, just move to another hotel". When we asked if we could speak to manager, he said he is manager and owner of this hotel. Later we found out that manager of Best Western Swiss Cottage is Christian Holfve, sent him a complaint, but never heard back which shows total lack of care for hotel's client by it's management. We were forced to move to Mariott Regents Park just down the road, where we have been treated nicely. If you enjoy being shouted at for having no hot water in your room then Best Western Swiss Cottage is hotel for you, but you want nice stay I'd suggest you take your business somewhere where it'll be appreciated.

"Ideal location"
tapdancer9, 30 Mai 2017

Myself and my sister stayed here as we were going to a concert at The Roundhouse (Chalk Farm). The Hotel is very nice in an ideal location, in a nice tree lined quiet road. If arriving on the underground, check directions as soon as leaving the exit, as there are different exits and the hotel really is 2-3mins walk. Our room was a nice size and everything very clean and well kept. Chalk Farm is a 5 min bus ride. Next day, we got the underground to the The Embankment which took no time. Great location for visiting London. I would highly recommend.

"Terrible service from staff member Ian"
LuckyHousing_123, 29 Mai 2017

My friend and I sometimes meet at the hotel's bar for a chat because I live nearby and I stayed at this hotel in the past few times. Bar staff was polite as usual. I have ordered soft drink and my friend had Starbucks coffee cup with her which she left on the table. Staff member Ian (on photo) was very rude and asked us to leave. He threatened and abused us verbally, taking our belongings (flowers) and taking them to reception for no apparent reason. We had to leave as this is not the kind of usual welcome we used getting from the staff of Best Western. We shall file proper complaint with Best Western Swiss Cottage general manager and Best Western main office. This kind of people must not work in hospitality industry in general and in Best Western network in particular. My friend and I stayed at this hotel in the past and always loved it's rooms and services. Unfortunately, this Ian person (he refused to tell us full name and started to hide his face behind his phone when we tried to take his photo) is letting down a wonderful establishment. We shall not return to this hotel neither for overnight stay nor for a bar until this person works there.

"Pleasant stay, with easy access to london"
Andy P, 28 Mai 2017

The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes' walk from the Swiss Cottage tube station, and is therefore ideal for a visit to London. The hotel is clean and well kept. The staff are courteous and helpful. Beds are good, and I slept well. Breakfast was good. A reasonable selection of warm and cold dishes. As the hotel is not on a busy road, so it is quiet. The only “noise” was the birds singing. Many restaurants nearby. The only down side was the WIFI. I am an IT specialist, and had severe problems trying to get connected. It must be a nightmare for an average user. Having to confirm the connection every time you access the network is crazy.

"3 day and 2 nights stay in Best Westen Hotel with my wife and son."
bazz1944, 12 Mai 2017

My other son is at The Royal London Hospital, Hampstead Heath, he is very ill. We stayed at above hotel for 3 days and 2 nights. My wife and I had a double room that was very small also bathroom the size of a cupboard, and the sink waste (plughole) was broken. Had to run COLD TAP for along time to get cold water, it was always warm. The other single room that my son had, had a bigger bathroom. Breakfast was good. But will not be rushing back to this hotel.

"Not too bad!"
Stuart J, 11 Mai 2017

It has taken a year for me to have the courage to return here after the room I had for £100 was the size of a cupboard and management were rude. This time round my room was upgraded as I'm a diamond select member. My welcome gift was the worse I've ever had.....a can of lemonade!. This week I've spent £500 in best western hotels and a can of fizzy drink flags up that loyalty! I find the best western loyalty scheme very difficult to understand. Still the staff are friendly, polite., room clean and comfortable. Its near the tube and the odeon cinema. Much better stay this time...but £100 is rather over priced! Stuart Jarvis

"Good value Stay"
timburr1983, 06 Mai 2017

I stayed here for a one night business trip, the room was clean and a good size. Good modern bathroom with good towels. No lift access to the 4th floor but this isn't really an issue unless you have mobility problems. On the down side, despite being close to Swiss Cottage Tube I was told that the only restaurants about were Chinese or a local KFC (maybe I should have dome some better research beforehand). Breakfast in the morning was decidedly average, the continental Buffett was reasonable but the cooked options were overcooked and greasy. One tiny half tomato, one shrivelled sausage, two overcooked bacon rashers and two fried eggs (despite asking for poached). Evening staff were very helpful but the guy on the next morning would have fitted in well at faulty towers. Overall, not a bad stay but could easily have been much better.

"An English delight"
cashu, 22 Avril 2017

I stayed 4 nights at the B.W. Swiss Cottage and loved every minute of it. You can not get it more "English" than that. I was on my own and booked a single room. Got room #6, which is downstairs but only "halfway" underground. There are wide windows and you can see the street and who is passing by. The room is small but has an odd shape that makes it more spacious. The location is just perfect: few minutes walk from the Jubilee line's station. For example: you are 3 stops away from "Bond Street" station (on Oxford) - takes 7 minutes to get there on the subway. I also liked the Lobby which is 2 big halls combined. It is very pleasant to sit there, have guests coming to visit or just order a cup of tea and look at the many magazines. The breakfast is a full English breakfast or a "Buffet" or a combination of both (which I did). The service there is very friendly and efficient. The room was very clean- spotless. The bed is very comfortable and so is the bedding and pillows. It is a small room and a very small bathroom but it has anything that a traveller may need (beside a safe in the room, but there is one at the reception). I highly recommend this hotel and planning to go back there on my future visit to London

"Particular hotel in victorian style"
Pat N, 16 Avril 2017

I spent 4 nights in this hotel and the position is good for tube station ( 5 minutes walking). The building is very particular and moquette everywhere ( inside the room, in the inside stairs in wood). The reception assistants were kind and the personel in the breakfast area too. The bathroom was very small but with all equipments.

"Nice place great location "
mgbard, 11 Avril 2017

Nice small hotel on quiet street two minutes from tube station. Made to order breakfast, helpful staff. Two community theaters a half block away. Good size room w alcove w desk and large bathroom. Not walking distance to attractive but close by tube.

"Excellent value, perfect location"
Mark B, 03 Avril 2017

The hotel is set in a lovely quiet residential street yet minutes from the bars and restaurants of Finchley Road. On arrival we found parking tricky. There is a small area at the back of the hotel which takes 4 cars and is first come first served. The surrounding streets were packed when we arrived at 5pm on a Sunday afternoon, so we were surprised to see 3 out of the 4 private spaces available. Check in was excellent, informative and we were offered breakfast vouchers at a cheaper rate than on-line booking. Sold! After asking for recommendations for a car park to leave the car in the next day (we were taking our daughter into the centre for a University interview), the wonderful fella on reception told us we cold leave the car just where it was. We were in room 306, a family room. Surprisingly this had 2 bedrooms - perfect! I was expecting one cramped room with a sofa bed, Instead we had loads of room with plenty of space to roll around in. Bear in mind this is an old Victorian building. It's quirky. The lift is more like a dumb waiter, just about fit the 3 of us. It only goes to the 3rd floor, so lucky for us in 306. Breakfast was good. A choice of cold continental buffet and cereals plus the option to order a cooked breakfast from your table. The lone waitress must have been quite stressed as the room was busy but she didn't let it show. Swiss Cottage tube is 2 minutes walk, and the hotel is located just outside the congestion zone. For the quality and location, this hotel is excellent value at around half the price of allegedly bigger, better hotels in the city centre.

"A bad experience"
Leonidas T, 23 Mars 2017

We stayed for 3 days in that hotel and we were not satisfied at all. The floor was crackling. There was not a elevator until the forth floor and you have to go by the stairs from the third. The soundproofing was terrible. It was very expensive and the breakfast was not included. The bath was clogged and there was not internet connection at the lounge so we could not check in.

"quite room small bathroom"
Debbie C, 19 Mars 2017

I was actually surprised how quite the LG room was, the soundproofing was spot on you couldn't hear the underground are the club down the street. The bed was comfy as were the pillows. The bathroom was tiny though enough room to do what you want but very small.

"RESTAURANT AND FACILITIES AROUND THE HOTEL"
cavassutor, 19 Mars 2017

As far as I remember, the hotel has no Restaurant, otherwise it's fair for me because it's not far from where I have to go and it is a quite place. Arriving at 7pm, I was expecting some dring or food but walking in the area, no pub and just a few middle class restaurants where I did not want to stay.

"Welcoming"
karen B, 28 Novembre 2016

I have just stayed for 3 nights at the Best Western Swiss Cottage as I was on a course there at the conference centre. It's so close to the tube station and we had a lovely welcome when we arrived, smiling faces and very helpful. I went to my room on the third floor and it was huge, (a superior double). There was a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a fan in the room and a modern bathroom with a good shower, the bath needed replacing though. The only moan is that the floorboards creaked in the room above me and they seemed to like to walk around at 1am !! There is a small bar where you can sit and relax downstairs by reception, it is not constantly manned but if you press the bell someone comes straight away to serve you. All in all a pleasant stay away and I will definitely be booking in next year.

"MAGNIFICENT AS ALWAYS"
MilmeadLeeds, 18 Novembre 2016

This little gem in a quiet backwater of the manic rat run of roads cannot be applauded enough! We have stayed before and it never fails! You walk through the doors and the fresh sweet aroma pleases and tells you it's all about CARING! You feel safe and appreciated! I don't know how they always manage to have the perfect staff who only want to accommodate. We had an unusually large room so rare anywhere within mid priced chains. The bedroom has smart TVs, ironing boards and plenty of drinks and a FAST kettle! It was so quiet and warm to enable us to refresh and recharge our low batteries! Please give this hotel a go and I promise you won't be disappointed!

"Lovely hotel "
Kevin_Dodds, 07 Novembre 2016

Worth paying the extra for a superior room. We checked in to discover we had a suite. Very impressive hotel, great location with the tube station at the end of the road and loads of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

"Would not stay again"
francestg, 05 Novembre 2016

Although the location was convenient and the breakfast was good, I would not stay here again. The beds were the hardest I've slept on outside of south east asia, and there is very little soundproofing between floors. We could hear every move of the people upstairs - if they were getting up at 6am, so were we. The water pressure in the shower was non existent, and the bath didn't work. All in all, it made for a rather uncomfortable stay. On the plus side, it was quite clean.

"One night in London "
Jules5520, 04 Novembre 2016

We stayed here for one night and found the hotel adequate although tired, a little maze trying to locate our room which was very small, although there was an iron and hairdryer so not so basic, although the bed was a very small double, we were told there was parking, it was an NCP but was full and my partner drove around for ages trying to park, but it was all permit holders only, so a little frustrating..the lobby was 24 hour so returning late from our night out was no problem for re entering the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was £10.95 but included a cooked breakfast but if all you wanted was continental it was the same price so have the cooked one! The hotel is also very close to the station and I think that's why the car park was full as later that night it had room.

"Very bad"
Lucja Z, 24 Octobre 2016

Hotel is advertised as car park possible...After I have arrived, on a check in desk I have find out, there isn't any parking for a car unless I can "go" and find some which will cost me from £10-20 per day. The staff try to tell me that I don't know London and parking problems and I'm wrong to not read properly about hotel facilities. Not helpful, rude, I have to cancel my reservation and has been left with no hotel. When you looking for hotel in London with parking available, be careful as booking come recommending this hotel as perfect for that. Very disappointed. Never ever again.

"Conveniently Located"
HoHenry, 23 Octobre 2016

A pleasant little hotel, very close, walking distance to the Swiss Cottage underground. The rooms are clean ensuite and of good size. The rooms are cleaned daily. It is situated on a quiet tree lined street, very close to the underground. Breakfast is just so so. The staffs are friendly enough. The hotel restaurant is closed for dinner. So for dinner you have to wander out to look for food. However there are a number of restaurants nearby, so no problem there. Getting to places of interest like Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street etc are very convenient. There are buses and the underground that goes straight there. Would I stay there again, probably because of the location.

"2 day work stop over"
Darren R, 20 Octobre 2016

Room is very dated and in dire need of refurbishment. I was in room 215 which was very noisy (on the road) Room is also very small, good variety of TV channels and the breakfast was also pretty good. Done what it said on the tin. Would return in a different room

"Not easy to sleep in."
Rachel B, 13 Octobre 2016

The hotel itself is not a bad one, tidy and clean, fairly quiet (for london), good food (nothing terribly exciting) and the staff are friendly. However the rooms really are awful to actually try and sleep in. The room was always very hot even at night (I had to sleep with window wide open and the fan on). The bed is extremely hard, I could never get comfortable (even flat on my back), pillows also very hard (foam), thick foam quilt (making the experience even hotter). From Someone very tired to people actually seeking sleep.

"Not a bad place to stay"
DavidandLynn, 29 Septembre 2016

We stayed here for a night last weekend, we wanted to be near Belsize Park and after a LOT of searching on the internet we came across this hotel. It was the most reasonably priced, most decent looking and was reasonably close to where wanted to be. We had a room on the 4th floor and it cost 120 pounds which was pretty good when you look at what is on offer. The room was spacious, there was plenty of room for clothes and baggage and it was well equipped. The bathroom was small and clean, the only problem we had was that the water was not particularly hot when we took our baths. You could say the room looks a little dated now but it was clean and in keeping with the style of the hotel so no real complaints.

"Fabulous location!"
donuvia, 26 Septembre 2016

Approximately a week before my arrival, I contacted the hotel via e-mail to get instructions to the hotel from Luton Airport. When I received a response within a day, it re-confirmed to me that I made the right choice in selecting this hotel. I loved the location of this Best Western for it was in a great neighborhood, next to the tube, a farmers market, and park. I reserved a room with two twin beds, the room felt specious and comfortable. It wasn't a standard room, such as the ones in the States, I actually liked the decor. When using their free Wi-Fi, I never had issues. Very grateful that there was a computer and printer that I was able to use. I had breakfast on-site during my last day, great presentation and selection. Will I consider to stay at the Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel should I visit London again?....Most definitely! Additional Note: Ask if they offer any discounts. They honor AAA Discount and I accumulated Best Western Rewards.

"Cozy and stately furnished hotel"
Desere S, 25 Septembre 2016

Great comfortable hotel - very clean with excellent service. Reminds me of Faulty Towers TV show!! great breakfast too!! Antiques are great - feels like you are in the country of England!! Beautiful back garden - gorgeous living room and entertainment area, Quiet street for London!!

"Very nice hotel!"
filu81, 24 Septembre 2016

Our room was very cozy decorated and nicely furnished. Very nice to come 'home' to after long day in the city. The hotel is close to the metro. The staff is very nice and the rooms are clean. We enjoyed our stay!

"Not bad, but not brilliant"
Joeke v, 23 Septembre 2016

This hotel is OK. It is an old building and the interior is done very traditionally, which gives it a lovely quaint English feel. The service is brilliant. The first night my telly didn't work and someone came up right away to fix it. The shower didn't have any pressure and the water wasn't hot, but when I told the reception I was given a different room straight away. The bathrooms were very small and both times no bath tub. They did put fans in each room which was nice with the warm weather. The walls are rather thin so you can hear your neighbours very well. The location is brilliant, right next to Swiss Cottage metro station (and the Jubilee Line will start the weekend 24h services soon), and also shops, Zoo, Primrose Hill, etc really nearby. The rooms had a kettle and some tea and cookies. All in all not very bad, but I would not recommend this hotel if you expect a lot of luxury.

"To enjoy the city and relax at night! Very good place to stay !"
HiTeresa, 20 Septembre 2016

The hotel is very nice, located in a quiet and nice street, near Swiss cottage metro station, in jubilee line. Not far away of many interesting attractions. A few shops, a very good Libanese restaurant in the nearby and a few other restaurants make this residential area a perfect place to stay. At the check-in, the staff was very pleasant and the process was pretty efficient. We stayed in the 4rd floor and the room was good, well equipped, with a complete bathroom. The room was clean and sunny. But, due to the age of the building, it seems it had a few dust, which for an allergic person might be a problem. The breakfast was good, perhaps a little expensive. It was not included in the booking, but it was a good option to have it, because there were no coffee shops in the nearby. The only think I disliked was the checkout staff, that was not nice, although he did his job well. If I would stay in this hotel, my next time in London.

"Excellent value for money and great location"
Rosemary G, 14 Septembre 2016

Could really recommend the Best Western Swiss Cottage. The staff were very helpful, the rooms spacious if a little faded glory! And great location, 2 minutes from the tube ... perhaps the bathroom could have done with a little updating but for the money, it was great.

"Lovely and quiet"
LabatuD58, 13 Septembre 2016

Lovely hotel, nice and quiet and very handy for the tube station. Decor was very good throughout, loved the grand piano in the lounge but didn't get a chance to play it! . Only downside for us was no hot water for a shower at 9.00 am! Having said that, would use this hotel again as hopefully that was a one off.

"Really lovely place for a short stay"
Maddie M, 12 Septembre 2016

This place was really good value for money. The room was spotless and the decor is very charming. The ceilings are also extremely high! The 24 hour reception desk is really handy and the staff are efficient.

"A good place to stay!"
Margaret M, 07 Septembre 2016

Best Western, Swiss Cottage is an easy, friendly place to stay - even though my experience of it was limited. I got an unexpected upgrade to my room booking, which was pleasing. Staff were friendly and helpful. The fact that the electricity blew up was a minor problem!!

"Great Location"
Richard T, 06 Septembre 2016

Recently spent 3 nights at the BW Swiss Cottage. Very nice clean hotel, friendly staff and great location. Not even 100 metres from Swiss Cottage subway. Marks & Spencer foods nearby, great for breakfast pastries.

"Great location and staff"
kev50, 04 Septembre 2016

Arrived at the hotel earlier than the booking in time, we were able to leave our bags and wander off, arrived back at the right time and rooms were ready for both couples in our party. the rooms were very well presented and well equipped. We arrived back from our show and enjoyed a few drinks in the very pleasant lounge area. A very good nights sleep was had by all, no noise as hotel is in a pleasant residential street. A very good breakfast set us up nicely for a day out in London Zoo. Though we had checked out were again able to leave bags and pick up later. The hotel is very well located next to Swiss Cottage tube station and is very well looked after by its biggest asset very good and polite helpful staff. we are in no doubt we will use this hotel again.

"Fine hotel but details need attention."
carrick_sw, 28 Août 2016

We used this hotel for a weekend in London and the location is almost perfect - out of the centre but very close to a tube (Swiss Cottage). The hotel has been converted from a row of houses and so there are limits to what can be achieved. The lift is very small and slow but quite adequate. Our room (209) was small for a modern hotel and in particular lacked modern wardrobe. It was quite difficult to get into the room due to the fire-door outside. There is no air-conditioning (or at least there was none in our room). There WAS an electric fan but it was broken. The bathroom had a shower over the bath (nothing wrong with this) but the shower was quite weak - pump would help no end. There unforgivable thing though that there was no plug for the basin in the bathroom. The hotel was clean and the staff helpful.

"Traditional style hotel with family room for 3"
Jeanette S, 27 Août 2016

Rather than a single room, our room (207?) had a separate space for our teenager which afforded a little privacy although it had to be crossed to get to the bath. Quiet, clean and comfortable with nice sitting areas on the entrance floor. A lift provides access to upper floors but there are some steps necessary from the sidewalk up to the entrance. Weather hot as was the room with only heavy duvets for cover.

"Great location "
lisamay42, 18 Août 2016

Just home from a 3 day 2 night visit to London. There were 4 of us and we stayed in the family room 304 , on arrival the Hotel looks great , perfect location for sight seeing and my son lived right by too. Our room was great , big with two single and a big double bed plenty of room for us. The only things I found an issue with , which I took up with a member of staff , was used cotton buds , used cotton pads and what looked like peeled nail polish between the single beds behind the bed side table , obviously hadn't been cleaned , even after I told the member of staff it wasn't cleaned and stayed that way the whole visit. Also on the second night ( only saw it in the morning ) the double bed white quilt cover had a big stain on it , from something that had wet , horrible , told staff , showed him a photo he just said sorry. We will definitely go back , just a shame the little details let it down. Great old buildings and we enjoyed our stay.

"Good location"
Sandy H, 17 Août 2016

The location was spot on for us as we were going to the open air theatre in Regents Park which was a five minute drive away and we were travelling to Scotland the following day. The hotel is in a wealthy residential area and we were able to park outside as it was the weekend. The hotel itself was old but it was very clean and appeared to have been recently redecorated. What let this hotel down was the size of the shower room. It was little more than a cupboard. The shower itself was by far the smallest I had ever used and any attempt to turn round win it resulted in turning the tap off. Not that you would notice the difference as it only produced a trickle of water anyway. We paid for the cooked breakfast and was again very disappointed. Limited buffet; mushrooms swimming in water (tinned?); cheap baked beans and nobody clearing the table. Not what we would have expected for Best Western but reasonably priced for the area. There are plenty of eateries near the hotel, so if you do stay here, skip the breakfast.

"Very pleasant stay with good breakfast and fast service "
CSmale, 15 Août 2016

A traditional English Hotel which I found to be very clean with good facilities in my single room. Very quiet at night and I had a very good nights sleep. Easy to operate shower and TV and good quality large towels. Good breakfast with a variety of hot and cold options and fast service. I will be staying again!

"I need a shower"
Elesha-may, 15 Août 2016

Just stayed in this hotel with a friend. We were on the 4th floor, hotel was clean but a bit dated. I don't normally complain about anything in hotels but I felt I needed to complain about the shower as it took about 15 mins to get Luke warm and then was hardly any pressure. Not good as it made us both late meeting up with other friends. Room was ok all in all though.

"Old but quaint in an excellent location of London"
Sudip C, 09 Août 2016

Excellent location for transport into the City of London and the major attractions. Very small Car Parking facility at the back, 'first come first serve' availability. Really lovely part of London for a walk around the area. Staff are really caring and do their very best to be helpful. Typical Old London Town House building with a 'Bed and Breakfast' flavour to our stay due to the friendliness of the staff on the whole. The old floor boards do creak a bit so better getting rooms on higher floors. We were happy with the quality of the food at breakfast although the breakfast rolls could have been a little more fresher and softer. Get to breakfast early if the Hotel is full otherwise some popular items empty quickly - although they are replenished fairly quickly. Kitchen staff are happy to provide any special requirements.

"Good for a weekend stay"
Von_Smiles, 08 Août 2016

Great location close to Swiss Cottage and Finchley Road stations on jubilee line. Fast journey into central London. Superb Waitrose supermarket near Finchley Road. Spacious room in the attic with very comfortable beds with nice clean sheets. The room was a bit too hot for my liking, particularly with a heavy duvet. Bathroom was spacious with bath and shower and very clean. The only negative thing was a smell of, one can only describe as, a mixture of body odour and sweat. Goodness knows where it was coming from because the room was spotlessly clean and bed linen fresh. Lounge area looked very welcoming with piano and comfy seating. Didn't sample breakfast, lots of cafes around if you want to get out and about. Would stay again.

"Terrible rooms"
Tutku K, 06 Août 2016

Chose this hotel because of location and did not pay much attention to photos trusting the best western label however we regretted checking in moment we have done it.We were given a room with two single beds so asked for a double bed and the guy at the reception was kind enough to offer another room. However that room was too tiny for two ppl so we decided to go for the single bedded one. The bathroom was terrible, very small, the shower head was fixed and trying not to wash my hair I kept touching the lousy old bath curtAins. Flooring and doors were probably from the date the building was built and caused noises with every step we have taken. Maybe that was all ok considering the low price however we checked out the next day and paid a little more to check in to another hotel of better quality. They should really consider a renovation.

"Clean and Quiet!"
BLPChas, 01 Août 2016

Stayed here for 7 nights in July 2016. I found the hotel to be incredibly clean and well taken care of, in a nice quiet neighborhood that is less than a minute's walk to the Swiss Cottage Underground Station. It took about 20 minutes via tube to get into the heart of central London. Beds were clean and comfortable, bath was impeccable, and staff was friendly. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone. Very charming.

"Grim"
TammyWilts, 30 Juillet 2016

Really old hotel in desperate need of reburb. The room had horrible stained carpets and grubby walls. The linens and towels clean but room dusty. The breakfast was terrible. Asked for poached eggs and was brought whipped fried egg whites. We found the staff in the dinning room very rude and the male receptionist (manager?) to be no better. He did not even get out of his chair to come to the desk which was quite a few feet away from reception. Just called out to us on both check in and check out. Would not return .

"Functional"
Tiny-Sprout, 28 Juillet 2016

Our reason for staying in Swiss Cottage, Best Western hotel is because I needed to stay near my healer for a week of treatment. Bad points: 1. Our room is quite small in comparison to those surrounding us and the residents in them seem to only stay for one or two nights. We are staying for a week so didn't understand why we were put in a small room to be claustrophobic. 2. There is no ventilation in the bathroom at all so you end up suffocating in your own steam. Isn't this a regulation for a bathroom without Windows? 3. No air con but they have provided a desk fan. 4. This one is slightly petty, but on replenishing our tea & coffee there is one packet of 3 biscuits, one and a half each??? Every other hotel we have stayed in have at least left a packet each so your not fighting over them.. Hahaha! POSITIVES 1. Staff are really friendly and helpful 2. Hotel is in a great (Quiet) location near Finchley Rd with all the shops and restaurants just 5 minutes walk away. 3. Swiss Cottage on the Jubilee line underground is a 3 min walk. 4. There is a farmers market every weds, lovely street food just 2 mins walk away. Would we stay here again, yes for convenience but would request a bigger room and a bathroom with ventilation.

"Ideal For Lords Cricket Ground"

I chose this hotel because of its close proximity to Lords. The weather was very nice when i stayed so after the match i walked to the hotel (therefor avoiding the horrendous crowds outside St Johns Wood tube station) and it only took about 20 minuets. The hotel is very close to Swiss Cottage tube which i used to go back to the ground the next morning (next stop on the line) The other reasons i chose this hotel was because the price compared favourably with other decent hotels in the area and i very much liked the look of the place from the photos on the website. I don't like contemporary and much prefer places with history and atmosphere and this hotel definitely ticked both those boxes. OK, so the floor boards might creek and the lift might be small and slow but i was only staying one night and was travelling very light so i used the stairs. I guess if you were arriving from other parts of the world with big cases it could be a bit of a pain. I only came into contact with 3 members of staff. A very friendly lady who checked me in (and then out the next morning) and 2 more at breakfast who were ok. I liked the room in the basement where you had breakfast but if you have mobility problems you might want to take breakfast in your room because the stairs are a little on the steep side As for the breakfast, it was nice and had everything you needed. One change i would like to see is the toast made to order or a toast machine being available. On the morning i stayed the toast had been made and left on a plate with the rest of the buffet and was cold. I had a small single room at the back of the hotel on the 3rd floor and it had all i needed. It was a warm night so slept with the window open and was not disturbed at all from the street below. As i only stayed one night, i could be wrong but i got the impression this was a quiet neighbourhood. All in all i very much liked this hotel and would definitely stay here again especially if i was attending another cricket match at Lords .

Jesse E, 18 Juillet 2016

Stayed here for one night with some business colleagues. The rooms were stuffy, dusty and boiling ( no a/c though a fan was supplied), three out of four of us woke up feeling ill the next day. We had a lot of luggage and stayed on the fourth for so mobility was a priority, however the lift looks like a converted laundry shoot and it barely fits one person and a suitcase. It doesn't even go up all the way to the fourth floor..! At one point we waited ten minutes for it to arrive and ended up walking. Beds in our room felt cheap and the house keepers knocked twice within ten minutes at 9:30am asking "when are you leaving?"

"Excellent hotel in quiet location"
Jane P, 05 Juillet 2016

I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel, it has fully refurbished rooms very large by European standards. Bed is very comfortable. The location is excellent right by the tube station but in a quiet street. Would definitely stay again

"Met expectations"
tiesw, 04 Juillet 2016

Friends that I was visiting nearby recommended this hotel. It's a good 3* place, a few steps from the Swiss Cottage underground and bus stops. The staff were very helpful. The reception was warm, cleaning staff were friendly, and the personnel in the breakfast room welcoming and accomodating. Having read previous TripAdvison reviews, I requested a quiet room upstairs, and was given Room 410 on the top floor. It was more spacious than I would've expected for a big city hotel, with lots of windows. It comes with a kettle and instant coffee etc., along with very nice biscuits (cookies in American). This room faces onto Adamson Road, which is the busier of the two; I suspect rooms overlooking Eton Ave would be quieter. The biggest drawback is noise from other rooms. The sound-proofing was not as good as I would've hoped, but probably what one should expect given the site's age and architecture -- it's a converted 19th century terrace. I was distinctly aware of both TV and conversation from at least two rooms below me. Fortunately I travel with earplugs. There are quite a few amenities nearby. There are a couple of banks on the Finchley Rd (Lloyds and NatWest, and probably more), and a cinema around the corner. I didn't try any of them, but my friends who live down the road recommended the Green Cottage and China Garden (only steps away) for Chinese food, and the Singapore Garden on Fairfax Rd (a seven minute walk) for Malaysian. It turns out the Freud Museum is a ten minute walk away, but unfortunately I didn't have time to visit it; next time.

"Amazing"
70Francesca70, 01 Juillet 2016

I have stayed in this hotel twice in the past two months - in the same room actually - and enjoyed it very much. There is a large lounge that is lovely, it has a bar, a piano, a TV, magazines and a computer. I am certain that many other hotels I've stayed in would have turned that beautiful space into rooms. The breakfast there is excellent and there is an option for full English or continental. The beds were very comfortable. Reception was very helpful when we complained about the balcony being full of water. The only downside to our room - 310 - is that the bathroom door doesn't close properly and it has no lock. But - thankfully - the second time we stayed a lock was added. In the room there is even an ironing board and iron. To summarise both my stays were very enjoyable.

"Great Hotel & located near tube station"
karen o, 27 Juin 2016

We was looking for a good hotel for price and location and we wasnt disappointed . This hotel may only have a 3 star, but is so much more. The reception staff were very friendly, the room was very clean and the bed was really comfy. The buffet and cooked breakfast was included in the price and what a great spread they put on. Excellent breakfast. We will definitely be staying here again.

"Good budget hotel in North London"
rwyvr, 24 Juin 2016

This is a good old hotel located in a quiet residential area only 2 blocks away from the Swiss Cottage underground station. It has decent amenities but definitely needs upgrades such as air conditioning and improvements to the plumbing (poor water pressure). The floors are quite creaky and the elevator is very small. They do serve a breakfast and they have a lounge but there are wonderful eateries very close by as well including a pub next to the underground station. I felt very safe walking in the neighbourhood. The zoo is about a 15 minute walk away - and 10 more minutes to Camden Market - which is a must see.

"wonderful hotel"
julie6662016, 24 Juin 2016

we stayed for two nights from sunday 19th to tuesday 21st, the reception staff were wonderful, the room was a good size, really clean and the bed was so comfortable, the breakfast was really good, all the staff were helpful and cheerful! fresh milk in our room whenever we wanted to make tea was great, hairdryer, iron and fan in our room! i cannot fault this hotel, we love it!

"Lovely stay in unique hotel"
MarqB81, 18 Juin 2016

This beautiful Victorian London townhouse/boutique hotel is complete with a charming little bar, breakfast room and lounge. The quirky, vintage decor brings to mind a British seaside hotel, and it's delightful to find this in such an accessible London location. Attentive staff and a very comfortable stay. We will definitely return.

"Great place, great relative tube location"
drcser, 06 Juin 2016

Wonderful - charming hotel. Only about one block walk from the Swiss Cottage Tube Station. Lots of easy amenities: Local fresh food markets Conventional grocery stores IMAX theater at the tube entrance Middle/ Upper scale neighborhood Quite neighborhood at night. My only issue, was lack of a minibar, or other refrigeration device in the room, to keep milk cold for my boys.

"Great Value"
Wayne C, 06 Juin 2016

Great value, clean, simple, and comfortable hotel. It is also close to subway station. Rooms are a little small but the bed is comfortable. Bathroom is very clean and shower has nice water pressure. Amenities are also provided.

"Excellent Location and Very Good Value for Money"
Saptarshi G, 05 Juin 2016

I stayed for three nights in the hotel. It is extremely well located hotel, just next to the tube station. Come out of Eton road tube station entrance/exit, in front of Hampstead Theatre. The hotel is right in front where the road forks into two, right at the tip of Adamson Road. I stayed in Room 209 which is a ground floor room, i.e., same floor as the lobby. It is advertised for about 85 pounds per night. The room is spacious and well equipped. However there is no refrigerator in the room and it is right next to the car park at the back of the hotel. It tends to get a bit noisy in the room and it is difficult to remove the curtains because of the constant flow of people and cars right next to the room. The staff are all very helpful. Overall it is good value for money given the location.

"Nicke Hotel in quiet area"
Jonas A, 02 Juin 2016

Visited London for a family weekend. Got a room with one large bed and two singles for my kids. Felt very British and we got the right feeling for our holiday. The hotel was nice with a pretty good breakfast and fair prices. All of the family enjoyed the stay. Easy to access the metro to get down town. It was really quiet during night time and we slept with the the windows open. It is good to know that it is a old house and that was noticeable when someone in the room on the next floor was walking around. For us going up early in the morning it was not an issue but if you want to sleep it could become another story. I can really recommend the hotel for its atmosphere and easy access to London sightseeing.

"Delightful stay!"
Robin V, 29 Mai 2016

Enchanting! We love it! Great location in a pretty neighborhood, about a 5 minute (or less )walk to the tube. We stayed in a family room-one full bed and two twins-sitting area with big picture window. Coffee, tea, and biscuits (cookies) in room, and also served 24hours in the bar-lovely! Large bathroom with large bathtub/shower combo-big fluffy bathtowels. Very friendly and accommodating service.

"Worst stay at hotel. Keep away!"
marklain, 28 Mai 2016

Normally I'm an forgiving and understanding person, but this time I was really pissed. Lets start with the good things as they are not too many. The location is very good, with a tube station 5 min walk and lots of places to eat around. The staff was great, they were friendly and helpful with any question I'd pop with at midnight. Free Wi-Fi, complimentary coffee and tea. But here the good things end. When I come to an hotel in a big city like London, I don't really need the facilities and the decor. What I do need is a clean and quite place to sleep and take a shower at. And those basics, that you would expect even from an inferior hotel, were absent. We got a room in the basement floor, with windows below the pedestrian walk, the smell in the room when we came in, was a smell of a place that was not ventilated and was old, like visiting your old and sick granny. Quickly I found out why, the windows were sealed and I couldn't even make a small opening for the fresh air to come in, there is no A/C in the room, just a table fan as if I was in some Bangkok hostel and not in London of 2016. So if you want fresh air, then you just have to go outside. The room was spacious, but the decor was grim and looked like the furniture was picked at a local dump, they looked old and they were not comfortable to use. On the first night I found out, that there are beds from hell, and ours was one of them. The bed was noisy, each turn you make would wake a dead, it was too soft and when sleeping on the edge you start to fall, the mattress just worn or as cheap as it gets. In 5 nights we stayed in the hotel, I didn't get one night of dissent sleep, and we walked the city from morning till midnight. There is no safe deposit box in the room and if you want to use one, you should go to the counter upstairs and they will keep it safe. Really?! This is a three star hotel in which I can't safely close my wallet or passport and an iPad, again we are in the 2016 here! But wait, there is more. When in the room, I could here all of the hotels guests walking up and down the stairs as if they were walking on my head! No sound isolation and no quiet time. The tappets on the wall were bubbly and started to come off, the desk lamps were not working, the shower is claustrophobic and on the last day it stopped draining water, and when I opened the sink, the water in the shower started to come out. Also in three last days I started to notice that the rugs in the room were not cleaned well, and little crumbs stayed for days to come. The beautiful building and the very nice lobby can't make for such rooms. I was in other Victorian style hotels, that were modern and thoughtful of the guests inside, but authentic and historic on the outside, this hotel is just neglected or doesn't give a thought of it's guests. Never again will I book here and wont recommend to do so for anyone.

"Disappointed"
motherHEncinitas, 27 Mai 2016

We chose this property for it's location and for our overwhelmingly consistent satisfaction with Best Western's everywhere. This property didn't measure up. Our welcome was less than warm. We arrived before check in time as we expected, so we checked our bags in at the desk and sat down in the lounge for a minute to make our site seeing plans. We heard the person at the desk engaging with other guests, talking about what shows they would be seeing, etc. but I couldn't get any attention as I was looking around the desk area for maps and other brochures. The place over all is cute and our room, on the first floor was as well. It had a wall of very tall windows which added real character. The bathroom was large and equipped with everything we needed, and there was a spacious closet area. However, the room was very hot and stuffy and being on street level, we didn't feel comfortable sleeping with the window open. Thankfully I found a fan in the closed which helped. There were numerous ants on the carpet which was old and lumpy and didn't feel clean. The shower didn't work so we were forced to just use the bathtub. The beds were comfortable with decent bedding. In the lounge there is a cute little bar, but the set up with the bartender was a little awkward. Breakfast was served downstairs if you pay extra for it. We didn't. It was the only hotel on our entire trip that didn't at least have coffee and rolls included in the cost of the room. There was coffee in the room, but it would have been nice if they served coffee and maybe juice and rolls in the lounge area and facilitated the paid full breakfast downstairs in their main breakfast room.

"Great location "
Mirdiff60, 27 Mai 2016

Stayed here with friends, great location , just about three mins walk to underground. Staff very nice, rooms average and breakfast good. Quiet location. Nice sitting area if you want to have a glass of wine after been out for a meal. . Ideal for a trip to London to sight see or shopping. Would def return to this hotel.

"Faded Grandeur at Swiss Cottage"
rachelk215, 27 Mai 2016

This hotel is in a great position - quiet, and a couple of minutes from a tube that whisks you into the West End. It has a quirky, old world charm; the faded grandeur of a country house along with its many staircases and squeaky floorboards! Not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it.

"Good location needs a little work"
hughesg1978, 25 Mai 2016

Good location by the tube and shops of required and the room was fine but squashed together a bit. Booked a double room which was ok size but noisy as faced Onto the street with single glazed Windows. Shower was very low power and could not actually sit on toilet properly as it was jammed against the wall!

"a homey welcoming hotel"
larounis, 23 Mai 2016

the hotel is charming and the area is a quiet. the hotel is very close to the tube station, so getting to the center is really easy. I always stay there when I go to London. It is really easy walking to Primrose Hill, Hamstead Heath, and Belsize Park area. There is a little street market right at the corner. The rooms are very nice and comfortable specially in the upper floors. some of the rooms in the ground floor are actually almost in the basement with windows nevertheless but quite dark. the staff is wonderful. my son had forgotten his phone and they sent it to us in Greece!. I love this hotel and feel a bit like living as a real Londoner each time I stay there. .

"Very nice and reliable"
Corrie G, 21 Mai 2016

I stayed here for a weekend and got a very nice room. The room service was efficient and tasty. The beds were very comfy and above them were plugs for electric devices, which was good. We had a nice view with a small balcony. There is a lovely lounge wi a piano, armchairs, computers and magazines. There was a nice old fashioned feel, and I had a very enjoyable stay. The only down side of our room(310) was that the bathroom door didn't close properly and could only be left ajar, as it would only slip back open when trying to close it.

"great place charming staff"
eranIsrael, 20 Mai 2016

great location- few minutes from the tube. room and bed- very comfortable breakfast -very good. nice veriety continental and more nice and quiet staff at the reception were very helpful highly recomended

"Lovely, Friendly Hotel, Quiet and Homey!"
Linda N, 17 Mai 2016

The Best Western Swiss Cottage is the best of both worlds. The hotel is off the beaten path, close to areas like Regents Park and the London Zoo, but out of the hustle and bustle of central London. This makes it quiet and homey. But at the same time, the Swiss Cottage tube station is literally a two minute walk from the hotel, so you can get into central London pretty quickly. I loved the quiet atmosphere with the easy access to the city. There were a number of markets across Finchley Road that were easy to access and provided me with everything I needed. The breakfast was good, continental on buffet and cooked eggs/sausage/bacon/ham if you wanted to order it. Juices, tea, croissants and Danish, yogurt, meats and cheeses and hard boiled eggs were the buffet. Great start to the day! The front desk was helpful when I checked in at 10pm and helpful on my departure. They answered questions and gave me some good directions when I was looking to get somewhere specific. I would really recommend the Best Western Swiss Cottage. It's perfect for those who don't want tons of activity and noise, but want easy access to all attractions.

"Good location"
Peter B, 17 Mai 2016

Well priced and close to the tube station. Rooms reasonable size for London. Limited parking on site. Breakfast wasn't very special. Rooms was clean and reasonably furnished. Noisy in the day and a little quieter at night. Staff I found to be helpful.

"Quirky but clean and comfortable "
Clare C, 13 Mai 2016

I stayed for one night as part of a work trip. The hotel is very easily accessible from the tube station, and check in was straightforward. There is no restaurant for an evening meal, but after a long day I didn't want to go out and got an Indian takeaway delivered to my room - delicious. I was a bit late for breakfast so didn't have anything cooked. Continental breakfast was adequate and filled a hole. The hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren with the stairs to the dining room through a door under the main staircase. It's olde worlde decorated but the room was clean and bright, with good (and free) wifi. Floors are creaky, so you can hear people moving about above you - it woke me at one point. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Price reasonable for the area. All in all, would stay again.

"Group visit"
Margaret H, 13 Mai 2016

This hotel is perfect for a group booking. The management and staff were all very kind and helpful both before and during the visit. The decoration of the hotel was in excellent order and the rooms spacious with interesting furniture and good pictures,

"Break in London"
bozenad2016, 06 Mai 2016

Very convenient located, few meters from the underground in Swiss Cottage, close to Regent Park. Beautiful building in a beautiful surroundings, no traffic noise. Room very comfortable, nicely furnished. Quite grand lounge. Definitely will come back. The only small minus - the breakfast should be better.

"Good priced Lodon hotel perfectly located"
Mark S, 02 Mai 2016

This is a mid priced hotel with a perfect location a few minutes away from central London by the adjacent tube station and next to the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Everywhere was clean, well lit and well decorated. I only took the room without breakfast but it was perfectly fitted out with everything a travelled would need. I have no complaints with this hotel and will definitely use it again.

"9-Day Stay, Very Nice"
Jugandme, 25 Avril 2016

This is an older hotel, but was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The room was quite small, as expected. There is a Victorian theme throughout the hotel. We had to go through a few small twisty hallways to get to our room, but it was quaint and interesting. The staff were always helpful. Our room faced the street ( a very lovely street), but we were never bothered by noise. Half a block away was pedestrianized, so traffic was slow and quiet. The location was very close to the Underground Station and many shops and restaurants along Finchley Road. We would certainly go back again.

"London Weekend Break"
Neil B, 25 Avril 2016

Clean hotel convenient to underground station for commute into 'Theatreland' Represents good value for money. Our major concern was parking in the vicinity but after 1:30 on Saturday and throughout Sunday street parking is free providing you can locate a space.

"Very nice situated and friendly hotel"
jacobusg134, 25 Avril 2016

Very nice classical hotel with very friendly staff. Well situated in quiet but nice area. Also very close (2 min. walk) from the Swiss Cottage Underground station and only short time to the main shopping area's. On walk distance nice streets with al kind of small restaurants and shops.

"Short stay for Wedding"
walter b, 19 Avril 2016

A beautiful Hotel, 5 star rating from us, Loved the Hotel, would definitely stay again. Thank You to Ian on the check in desk, very pleasant and helpful in every way. we had an amazing time in London. It was lovely to come back to such a beautiful hotel.

"Great Location"
Pamela L, 13 Avril 2016

Great Location for what we were there for and close to underground. Only issue was the radiator didn't work in my room! Not great! Apart from that - staff were friendly, rooms were good. Overall I'd stay again. AA+ from us ??????

"New Year's Eve"
BexW1984, 11 Avril 2016

Stayed here on New Year's Eve for one night. Great location, very close to the tube. Rooms were basic but we were only staying for the one night (we were out for most of it) and just needed somewhere basic to crash. Very clean and the staff were pleasant, I would stay here again.

"Fantastic Location"
TheGrayOne, 09 Avril 2016

Location: The location of the hotel is excellent! Ideally situated right next to Swiss Cottage tube station and within easy walking distance of Regent's Park. During our three-night stay in London we rarely used the tube into central London as it was a lovely walk through the park. Additionally, the hotel was only a short walk to the Belsize Park area, where there were lovely bars and restaurants. Accommodation: Our hotel room was pleasant though, for the price, a little underwhelming. There were a number of stains on the bedroom wall that, with a little wipe, were easily removed so it was disappointing that these had not been cleaned before our arrival. The bed was comfortable and the room was well-furnished and warm. However, despite leaving the water running for several minutes, the water never became hot in the bathroom...in fact, on two mornings the water was little more than luke-warm. Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel was included in the overall price of our stay which was beneficial as breakfast was priced at £10.95 per person. On morning one we were cooked full English breakfasts, whilst on the other two mornings it was a "hot buffet" style. Breakfasts were substantial though we much preferred the help-yourself buffet style. The bacon every morning was tremendously fatty and, therefore, I wouldn't recommend the bacon! There were a range of breads, cold meats and cheeses and preserves should you prefer a cold breakfast. The dining area was nice and the waitresses were efficient and friendly. Overall opinion: A nice hotel though a little overpriced, in my opinion.

"overnight stay"
new67, 09 Avril 2016

Stayed at this hotel for my daughters trip to central school of speech and drama. Great location, opposite the school, plenty of local amenities. The staff were very friendly the room was very spacious and clean with everything you would expect and need.

"Just amazing "
lucinaskidmore, 09 Avril 2016

This hotel is the best because: It's so close to London zoo we walked it but if you don't fancy that you can catch tole tube to Swiss Cottage. Beds are the most comfortable S Staff are all very helpful and happy Great views Nice and warm Nice and clean rooms 307 is a family room and our 5 yr old daughter loved that she had our own room. Bathroom and good size and had everything needed. What an amazing breakfast --- so much choice and will cater for all dietary requirements

"Nice"
PhilsCat, 27 Mars 2016

Clean and comfortable, nice choice of breakfasts, Attentive and friendly staff. Good location. Note: quite a large gap under the door allowing light from the brightly lit corridor to disturb us at night (211)...solution: use spare blanket in room as a 'baffle' to shied the door base.

"Good value for money"
Debra79, 23 Mars 2016

Hotel is in a good location. Only a minutes walk from Swiss Cottage tube station but on a quiet road. Hotel is a little dated but has all you need. Room was a good size and bed comfortable. Staff were quite friendly and helpful with directions to next destination. Good find in central London.

"Good value"
scbrry, 21 Mars 2016

Stayed for one night on a recent trip to London theater and shopping, the hotel is a very short walk from the tube and 10 mins into the city by tube , we checked in early just to drop our bag off we were told the room was ready and we were welcome to use it although only 10 am in the morning , the room was warm, clean, comfortable, breakfast was good with fresh cooked eggs to your liking to go with the full English buffet style.although access to the restaurant was a little difficult under the stairs but not a problem

"Excellent hotel"
charlescD8654ST, 20 Mars 2016

This an excellent hotel, the staff were very friendly, the breakfast was great value, there is nothing negative to say about the hotel, I will definitely be returning. I have read a few reviews complaining about light bulbs being to big, and furniture not matching, this for me shows what a great hotel it is, if that is what people have to complain about........Enjoy........I did ??

"2 day stay"
James W, 19 Mars 2016

There was no hot water this morning, no lift all stay, tiny box room, undrinkable breakfast coffee, all for £120. Not worth it!! The porter disappeared as soon as he saw me arrive with a rucksack and a folded Brompton and heard I was on the top floor!!

"In the right place at the right price"
keke975, 18 Mars 2016

Myself and a friend wanted to spend 5 days of sightseeing in London last week (7th-11th March 2016), and this hotel was perfect for the job. Its location so close to the local underground station and just a few stops from the city centre was ideal. We had a twin room on the Bed & Breakfast option, the room was well appointed, colour TV, tea/coffee facilities etc and ample storage space. The en-suite consisted of shower cubicle, sink & WC which all worked fine and was kept very clean, however, a small word of advice - if you don't rise before 7 to 7:30am, you will find that the hot water has been virtually exhausted by the other guests, it is fine at other times though. The staff at reception and in the breakfast room could not have been better, very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was more than ample, with fruit, cereal, full English and other options and we could not complain at all. Overall i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and if we to return to the city I will certainly try here first - 5 STARS

"Perfectly Acceptable"
ShelGlan, 16 Mars 2016

Nothing wrong with the hotel. Needed a bed for the night. Room was clean, tidy, towels provided and a kettle with tea/coffee was also provided. I would stay again. It isn't the Ritz but who cares. Comfortable sleep. However shower wasn't very hot.

"Needs Upgrade"
Mary R, 15 Mars 2016

This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel over the past couple of years as I have business and friends in this area. Always in the same room. Nothing at all had changed in terms of decoration etc. and it is faded now. I stayed for 4 nights with a companion. Overall the experience is good and the hotel is well-situated for transport links to the centre of town and elsewhere. It is also right beside Hampstead Theatre Club so good for performances there and also Central School of Speech and Drama. Linen is clean and room comfortable. However, compared to my previous experience I believe that housekeeping needs to be a bit more precise. Dust showing in corners of bathroom. Things not replaced i.e. water bottles or glasses. Plumbing was a problem, as it had been before on my stays in this same room and we called on help with that. To be fair they got someone to us straight away who dealt with it, but I do think that it needs an upgrade to a more efficient system. This time breakfast was not included in the deal and we paid £10.95 each for it, which added a good amount to the overall bill. I would recommend this hotel if you want to be in this part of town, but I do think they need to upgrade aspects of it.

"Comfortable and traditional hotel in good location"
Martin W, 08 Mars 2016

The atmosphere of this hotel is like returning to an old family home, warm and lived in. No harsh, sparse minimalist decor here, just good solid traditional homeliness. Warm room, adjustable radiator did not go off at night like some hotels, so warm all night on a cold night. Comfortable bed, tea/coffee, biscuits and kettle provided. Well stocked large washroom. Good sized room with plenty of power points. Good buffet breakfast with freshly made toast provided.

"good service comfy bad but room itself poor"
Kristina D, 29 Février 2016

great location great service room decor poor, old not matching furniture lightning awful, too big sticking out day electricity saver light bulbs everywhere - too cold and too bright! black mould on the bathroom ceilings!!!!! horrible carpet!!!! socket for kettle unsafe nearly hanging of the wall, made the electric spark too, have to use socket for the hair dryer on the carpet instead!!!!!!!!

"Good basic hotel"
Ernest C, 28 Février 2016

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Room was a bit small and most of the electric sockets did nor work. I did not have breakfast. No proper restaurant in the evening so I had to go out for dinner

"Clean, tiny shower"
EOwen2013, 26 Février 2016

Booked this hotel as my son had an audition at Central School of Speech and Drama which is a stone's throw away. Swiss Cottage tube station is also very close. The main areas of the hotel were very plush. The twin room we had was in the basement, it was quite large and clean with tv, tea/coffee making facilities etc.. The pillows were too firm for a decent sleep. The only real letdown was the bathroom which smelled a bit damp and the shower was tiny, in that my shoulders nearly touched both walls! We didn't eat breakfast, we ate at a greasy spoon on the main road which was very nice. The hotel minded our bags after we checked out which was very kind.

"Handy and as expected"
jackiel195, 21 Février 2016

The hotel was quiet- so a good night sleep was had. bed was comfortable and breakfast suitable If I had one minor complaint it would be the lift- it did not go up to the top floor and we had to wait a bit for it to arraive

"Solid 3 star hotel in quiet, but convenient location only 4 tube stops from central London"
Housemartin2015, 17 Février 2016

This hotel is located only 2 minutes walk to the Hampstead Theatre, and the Swiss Cottage tube, shops and restaurants. On a quiet but elegant road comprising mainly Victorian townhouses. The hotel itself is a solid 3 stars, and represents good value considering proximity to central London. Our room was a decent size, with a comfy double bed and a further single bed plus en-suite bathroom. Overall the decor was a bit tired, but the room was well heated, plenty of hot water, and clean facilities. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choice, and cooked breakfast also on offer.

"Brilliant value for money and great location"
Kevin_Dodds, 17 Février 2016

I found the Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel as we were attending a film fair in nearby Camden. We found the hotel excellent and although we'd paid the extra for a superior room we didn't expect to have a suite! The staff were attentive and the buffet breakfast good value at £10.95 each. I'd highly recommend this hotel and it's in an excellent location with plenty of shops and places to eat on nearby Finchley Road and the tube station at the end of the road the hotel is on.

"Quite quaint, location near tube station"
Lenore A, 13 Février 2016

Rooms are sufficient in size. Nicely decorated in a traditional English manner. The hotel lounge area does this style even better. The water pressure in the shower was quite low. Located near Swiss Cottage tube station so easy to get to. We booked at a special rate so it was good value in that sense.

"one night stay"
john1710, 08 Février 2016

the room was very good but the bathroom attached let it down as the shower was very dated and the tiles were grubby. the TV wouldn't tune and had channels missing . the negatives were overridden by the hotel being good overall. i would stay again , i know what to expect

"London visit"
bozenad2016, 08 Février 2016

Very good location, just few yards from the underground, not noisy, beautiful building, nice decor, comfortable room. The reception person very helpful. The central heating and phone do not worked, they managed to sort out phone problem, but not central heating, so they supplied a heater. We had also very good price. Definitely will be back.

"Large comfortable room in quiet and centrally located London area"
GMattJ, 27 Janvier 2016

The room was big, quite old fashioned but with all amenities for a night. The location was great and well covered by the tube. The area was quiet and even though there was maintenance with the Underground, the bus was still close by.

"Good price for London hotel"
Adrian C, 25 Janvier 2016

Booked late for 1 night but good price. Good location only a couple of minutes away from Swiss Cottage tube station which is only a few stops away from central London. Old fashioned and a little creeky but Would visit again if looking for reasonable price and a good base to see the sites!

"A really nice hotel, unique atmosphere"
Yonit S, 21 Janvier 2016

It's the second time I'm staying in this hotel and still like it very much. Location is great!!!!! Quiet and lovely residential enviroment but only 2 minutes walk from the tube. Central London is only 10 minutes away. The hotel is made up in a lovely victorian style inside and out. Every room is different. It's true not all power sockets are working, bathroom smallish, the old wooden window won't open and I had to call reception for help every time I wanted it opened (they arrived promptly), but staff is freindly and the room lovely and clean. To sum it up- very nice for those who like to feel a bit of old England while traveling. Will definitely stay there again!!!!!

"Worst Hotel I've Ever Stayed in"
Peter B, 14 Janvier 2016

Worn out mattress, poor sound insulation, powers pockets in room didn't work, one particular member of staff less than pleasant when I complained. Asked me what I expected him to do about it. I may have stayed in worse hotels but I can't think of one. I knew exactly when the people in adjoining rooms were is using the shower. So loud it woke me up. Mattress springs pinging all night every time I moved.

"Stayed twice, liked it!"
PaulGarvey, 13 Janvier 2016

It's a 'unique' little hotel. Unlike your average. Some things (desk staff and their computer system) weren't great, but I got to like the breakfast staff and food and everything else about the hotel was good! Odd. I've stayed there twice, for 6 days in all and it's not really my kind of hotel, but they did little wrong and I grew to like it, so 4 stars! I'll stay there again.

"Well Located, Nice Staff"
Ales S, 12 Janvier 2016

The hotel is conveniently located just a few steps from tube station Swiss Cottage, Jubilee line. The staff was welcoming, nice and helpful especially Bogush. The room on 3rd floor was specious and well cleaned and serviced daily.

"GOOD LOCATION FOR LONDON VISIT."
dennisD08, 10 Janvier 2016

Visit to Central School. Hotel located 3 mins walk from Swiss Cottage station and across the road from Central School. Very short ride on the undeground into Central London. The hotel is tipical of some Best Weston hotels, several large homes knocked together to form the hotel. The reception was helpful except they for got my early morning call. Breakfast was very good. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. If I was coming to London again I would have no problem staying here adain.

"Small Hotel with a perfect location"
Tess B, 06 Janvier 2016

Have stayed in this hotel in January, This small hotel is offering perfect location just off the underground station, on a very quiet street. Very nice helpful staff, cozy and tidy hotel room and bathroom, rich continental breakfast, lovely bar and lounge and on Sunday afternoon you can enjoy live piano music!!! This is something. Would like to say thank you to receptionist Bogusch and Daniel. Will come back to stay here.

"Swiss Cottage Hotel"
Kevin R, 06 Janvier 2016

Real nice, clean hotel. Managed to get my car into one of the hotel car spaces which helped and staff were really helpful. Location of the hotel near to LU station is great for London access and keeps travel costs low. Would certainly return.

"To the Rescue !!"
michelle c, 05 Janvier 2016

Following a disastrous stay at a rental apartment down the road in Camden which was cold damp and smelly !! , we decided to leave the previous rental and needed a place to stay quick ! My son was due at an audition in the area the following day ..Looked on line and found this hotel to be the nearest for where we needed to be the following day ... The rooms ( we had 2 ) were large , spotless and most of all warm and welcoming .. All met with gratitude after our previous nights debacle .. We ordered breakfast for the following morning which was lovely and the waitress service was a nice surprise .. Our breakfast here was well cooked and served and great value for money ... We had a walk to St Johns wood just down the road ( 20 min walk ) and enjoyed all the lovely shops and beautiful properties there .. Cake shops galore ! We also wandered to Primrose HIll Road and had wine in a great bar with a roaring fire All round our stay was rescued by Best Western on this occasion and I would certainly stay here again

"Fantastic Location"
Overland P, 04 Janvier 2016

We stayed here just before Christmas for some last minute Christmas Shopping. The hotel is very conveniently located right next to the tube station Swiss Cottage, which is only two stops from Baker Street and is less than 10 minuets away from Oxford Circus. The receptionist were very helpful and polite and answered any questions we had. There was also a secure room where you can leave your luggage. The room itself was a bit small, as was the shower room, but we were only there two nights so we weren't bothered too much. The room even though small did have everything you would expect (kettle, iron and board, tv etc) and was clean. The pricing is reasonable especially for London. Overall we had an enjoyable stay here and would recommend it if you want a hotel fairly central hotel at a good price for a weekend in London.

"London"
Robert H, 04 Janvier 2016

Good location, clean, value for money, pleasant staff. I did room only on this occasion. The room was bright and a good standard of preparation. Being close to the tube makes for easy travel into central London.

"Great Location"
Bex P, 31 Décembre 2015

Stayed here the weekend before Christmas and found we had one of the biggest rooms on the ground floor. Lovely huge bed and bathroom. The only issue with the room was there was no air conditioning and we couldn't open the windows due to being on the ground floor so the room was boiling at night. There was a fan in the wardrobe though so the hotel is obviously aware of the issue and once this was set up it was a lot better. Staff were friendly and it was lovely to come back to the hotel at midnight (after a gig at Wembley) and their be someone at the bar to give us cold drinks. There was lots of options for breakfast and the cooked breakfast was great. Great location between the centre of London and Wembley where we needed to be and a lovely easy walk through Primrose Hill and Regents Park close by.

"Average hotel but clean and tidy"
Supperhunter, 27 Décembre 2015

An unremarkable hotel in almost all aspects and not one that I would actively return to. Quite old fashioned with a sad feeling to it. The room was small and the shower was even smaller. However, it was clean and tidy and for what we paid maybe it wasn't so bad. Not one that would willingly return to however.

"Handy for Central School of Speech and Drama"
JackyH50, 22 Décembre 2015

We stayed at this Hotel, primarily because my daughter had an audition at the Central School of Speech and Drama, which was literally just across the road. It was also within easy travelling distance from Paddington train station and the Underground Station was also only two minutes away from the Hotel. The room was typical of an older property, but was clean and warm, very spacious, The Hotel is situated in a very quiet street too.

"Excellent hotel & Staff"
brokemum, 22 Décembre 2015

We arrived late evening and were readily welcomed with a smile. Room was enormous and so very comfortable; including an electric reclining chair and soft furnishings ; large modern ensuite, plenty of wardrobe and hangars; quiet and located on a lovely residential street. Very close to underground. No problem with ordering a chinese take-away to be delivered; and staff gladly provided cutlery for us to use. We had a faulty kettle, which leaked and staff were quickly on hand to replace it. Plenty of coffee/tea, sugar and fresh milk. We didn't have breakfast as at £10 p.p. we thought it was over priced.

"Simply lovely!"
Liz H, 21 Décembre 2015

My husband and I stayed here for one night, as were seeing a gig in London. The location is great, as it's within spitting distance of Swiss Cottage tube station. The hotel itself is gorgeous, tastefully decorated and the rooms are finely appointed. I give it such a good review for the beautiful mahogany furniture alone- I am a big fan! The bed was quite firm, but I don't mind that. We didn't stay for breakfast, so can't review that. Just a really nice place to stay, and very reasonable- I stayed at another hotel in London recently, which cost more than this place and was nowhere near as good. Gorgeous!

"Would definitely stay again"
lindylou1970, 18 Décembre 2015

A two night stay here which I thought was excellent and value for money. Stayed at two other hotels this week in this area and they weren't anywhere near as good. Staff very helpful. Room extremely comfortable and breakfast hot and well cooked. Great location. Will stay here again when I'm up here. Well done best western.

"Highest recommendation"
Torben M, 15 Décembre 2015

I have been coming to Best Western Swiss Cottage for over ten years and will hopefully come for many more. I cannot praise it highly enough, the location is phenomenal, the rooms are great, the value is excellent, and the staff is competent and friendly. Highest recommendations.

"best staff and great food"
JACJACLEEDS, 13 Décembre 2015

the reception and waitressess food everything about my trip and stay has been wonderful thank you to everyone we will definately stay here again graham and jacky samyang also most comfortable bed in london handy for tube to central london jubilee line

"Old"
Rotherhamred, 09 Décembre 2015

The check in was a bit of a nightmare and took about 30mims. Then I asked for my room key and was told I was already given it but hadn't to had to wait until I got my key. The room was cold and old. The bar area wasn't manned so had to go to reception to ask to be served and wait another 5 mins to be served. Then one of my group asked for a bottled drink which was going to be served but the guy didn't know the price to be then told that the bottle was 3 years old and had to be thrown away. Won't go back in a hurry.

"BEST STAFF EVER"
GregAliceSprings, 07 Décembre 2015

OUTSTANDING!! Old building! Excellent location for Underground, food, massage ~ you choose. Out of the heart of London a bit, but easily accessible!!! A beauty of a room with a firm bed!!! The lady on check in, ERIKA, was the greatest. Helpful, inspiring, & just a pleasure to deal with. booked me a cab for far CHEAPER than Mini Cab quote. & the booking I made on line with Taxicode was a disgrace!

"Simply perfect"
Andy W, 02 Décembre 2015

We recently stayed here on the 27th November for two nights with our son, in order to visit all the shops in the west end, and generally see some of London, firstly we drove in from Bexhill on sea, and got a space in the hotels allocated parking, a trulely warm friendly hotel very helpful reception staff and ideally situated to travel from Swiss Cottage tube station less than one hundred yards away. Thanks for having us. Mr and Mrs white master luca white

"Quirky, well located, reasonably priced"
Uponamoor, 26 Novembre 2015

Stayed here for two nights in a lower ground floor single room. Bigger than I expected, especially for London. Overall fair value: it's not luxury, but it fitted my purpose - a reasonably priced bolt-hole for a couple of nights. The hotel feels like - and is I think - converted town houses knocked together, and as with most BW hotels (in my experience) feels a bit quirky, they certainly don't build to a more standard and consistent template like, say, Marriott or Hilton: rather higgled-piggledy layout. Have to say the patio doors to the outside didn't make the room feel safe, but let's assume there are external cameras / security. Also my window was a broken sash, single glazed, and slightly draughty. The heating warmed the room up fairly quickly, but the room was very cold on arrival. I didn't eat - breakfast was £12.50 or so, and I can't comment on that. There's a lift, but I wouldn't want to be in there if I was claustrophobic, and a couple with bags each would have fun, especially if they didn't know each other! Water was very warm rather than hot; not a problem for me, but worth bearing in mind if you like showers that turn you into a [cooked] lobster. Good location - 2 minutes' walk from Swiss Cottage tube, and given that, the hotel was remarkably quiet. Oh, the wifi: didn't work in my room, which was right at the NW end; there were routers hanging off the walls in the corridors, but as I mentioned, the layout is a bit asymmetric.

"IDEAL"
FLYINGBLUEDOG, 23 Novembre 2015

Just looking for one night near Camden and this popped up. It's actually got a bit of character being within a terrace of old residential buildings some 200yds from Swiss Cottage tube station. Staff were friendly and understanding from booking process onwards. The interior IS dated, some may say a little shabby, but it suited us for one night and, given the location, was extremely good value.

"Average "
Amelia R, 23 Novembre 2015

Check in wasn't great, no conversation made by receptionist and didn't really explain anything at all. Nevertheless.... Location great, breakfast amazing and very quick service. Room was on top floor and very quiet but extremely cold, no heating in rooms which surprised me considering it was -2 outside. The shower wasn't great either, which was the only thing to warm ourselves up, abit disappointing. I wouldn't say the hotel room lived up to the standard of the £300 we paid for the 2 nights. Very average.

"Great location"
Christianmocking, 22 Novembre 2015

Nice and clean hotel with a good value for money. It is in a nice neighbourhood and quiet. Tube with Jubilee line just one minute from thr hotel. Within 3 or 4 stops in the centre of london. You can book it!! Room has everything you need. Even free wifi.

"Clean rooms Hotel close to Tube"
BillCRochdale, 18 Novembre 2015

I had a basement room, but it was light. The decor was ok and the bed comfortable, The TV had problems with the channels. All in all I thought the whotel was ordinary, but nothing to complain about, a plus was the hotel room was quite large for London

"A good stay"
Pamela C, 18 Novembre 2015

My husband and I had a four day holiday in London and, although the hotel looks a little tired, the room was lovely and the bed very comfy. Breakfast was included in our price and it was of a really high standard. The hotel is literally a 2 minute walk from the tube station and on the Jubilee line which takes you directly to the O2 arena. We went to a concert there so it was fantastic to travel direct without having to change.

"Good location and comfy bed"
stu1616, 05 Novembre 2015

This hotel is perfectly placed being a short 5 minute walk from the underground. We only stopped for 1 night but would have stayed longer if we had time. The room was plenty big enough with lots of seating available. Breakfast was good and quickly served. The only fault we had with this hotel was the rudeness of the man that checked us in, all the other staff were polite and friendly

"Very elegant and comfortable, quiet and close to public transport"
Lady_Exila, 04 Novembre 2015

My husband and I stayed at this hotel already 3 times and we were always very satisfied, the hotel and the rooms are very elegant, usually large, beds are comfortable, as are chairs and couches, we always ask for a bathtub and always get one. The hotel is very very close to both the underground stop and the bus stop, and this year there were works on the street, not the hotel's fault of course, but beside that and every other time, the neighbourhood is very quiet and extremely nice and characteristic. I highly recommend to choose this hotel for a calming and relaxing stay.

"Creaks like a Halloween haunted house, bad night sleep. "
Compact101, 03 Novembre 2015

Stayed in 304 nice big room, but the floorboards creak especially for the room above. It has been mentioned on other reviews the hotel is tired. As you walk down the corridors you can hear the floors creaking. Simple to fix if they wanted. If you want a good sleep stay somewhere else, or bring ear plugs. I rang reception and asked to move but was told it's was full so no chance of moving. It's going to be a bad nights sleep as you hear a family creaking about, going to the toilet etc. Never again...

"A wee Cracker"
Stewmak, 02 Novembre 2015

Great inexpensive Hotel ,Clean, good breakfast ,nice rooms ,in quiet area ,handy for jubilee line and nice staff No complaints at all from us on recent weekend trip Only slight drawback was that didn't seem to be many restaurants beside the Hotel but with Tube on doorstep we didn't find this a problem as we were in Central London both nights sightseeing and eating .

"Overnight stay"
car0lyn656, 28 Octobre 2015

Lovely comfortable room, traditionally furnished. Very clean. Had good nights sleep - the area is quiet and peaceful but also convenient for the underground ?? and central London. Comfortable bar area. Limited menu, but that was not an issue. Helpful polite staff.

"Lovely Hotel"
Niffty1328, 25 Octobre 2015

Stayed hear with my 6 year old daughter for one night and it was lovely. The staff were great and our room was spacious and very clean. The hotel location is perfect, off the main road in a quiet back street but still close to the tube. Perfect nights stay.

"Ok room, in need of updating"
Ellie S, 24 Octobre 2015

I had a top floor room, the staff were helpful and good location however the room was in need of updating and the water pressure for the shower was really poor. There was a good selection of teas such as green and white tea. The lift didn't go to the top floor. Quite a lot of noise from other guests

"Old but Nice"
Avztrakt, 19 Octobre 2015

We spent 4 nights at this hotel last May. The hotel has a good location as it is very close to the underground as well as some convenience stores and restaurants. The hotel feels a bit old and rustic, however the room was clean and the bathroom was very nice. The internet was good and we had no issues with it during our stay. The front staff was very nice and even allowed us to check-out at 12 rather than 11 AM. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when in London.

"A small part of the charm ist left, good location for tourists using the metro."
Rudolf L, 17 Octobre 2015

We had a twin bed room in the basement. It was quite roomy, except of the extremely small shower. The cleanliness was ok, the beds were good. The breakfast offered is not exciting, but quite ok (small buffet and hot meals a la carte). The hotel is close to the metro station Swiss Cottage (about 200 m), and this walk is very safe at any time. The service at the reception is not friendly at all - too anonymous and unfriendly for such a small hotel.

"Swiss cottage area"
Karmen H, 17 Octobre 2015

Very nice hotel in great location. 1 minute walk to tube. Friendly and professionally run. Found rooms towards back of hotel quieter with lovely leafy outlook and rooms larger with more interesting decor. The only drawback was rooms on the 4th floor could only be assessed via lift to 3rd floor and then luggage had to be carried a flight of stairs. But nice place to stay.

"Quiet location"
Karen W, 16 Octobre 2015

Lovely hotel with very helpful front desk staff. Beautifully comfortable room (deluxe double) with loads of space and good size bathroom. The location was very quiet so enjoyed a peaceful sleep. Easy to get to via tube and easy to find.

"Good price, great location"
Nicole P, 13 Octobre 2015

Hotel is located in great location, safe and close to amenities. Would definitely recommend to friends and family staying in England. Easy to get to all of the sites, great coffee at the Hampstead theater close by - the Camden market is out the door every Wednesday.

"a very goood experience"
Daniela C, 12 Octobre 2015

We had already been in the hotel the last year and we had a good Stay; it's located in a very convenient location. The staff is very kind.. Only a small problem : please put most comfortable mattresses . thanks.

"Great stay"
Ravitst80, 10 Octobre 2015

Lovely property, great staff, comfortable bad, and great in room facilities including the coffee/tea station with cookies. Great housekeeping, and hotel staff. The property itself is has a lovely English character and located a 3 min walk from the Swiss Cottage station. Only had a bit of issues with the wi-fi in the room and the hairdryer is outdated.

"Poor Staff"
Cameron M, 01 Octobre 2015

In general the staff were helpful and pleasant. But two in particular were very rude and unhelpful, the bar man was rude and when delivering food to my room was unpleasant about it being charged the room. Also a receptionist, I believe his name was Ian, made a point of making me feel unwelcome and lacked general personal skills. The quality of food was very lack lustre and the quality of even a basic sandwich was appalling, also I ordered a tea and biscuits to the room and all that was brought was a tea pot a half jug of milk not even enough to cover the amount of tea; no biscuits in sight and I was charged for the full package.

"old fashioned hotel in good location"
Andy L, 30 Septembre 2015

located in lively position , single glazed wooden windows let noise into rooms , staff friendly , hotel has a lift that works but my room although a suite had a toilet positioned in a place contortionists would struggle to pee in

"Superior rooms good for family with one kid, nice and helpful staff"
Drzewes, 25 Septembre 2015

If you are willing to be in the centre and not go bankrupt, this is a good compromise. No excessive additions, but all you need to get rest. Imax and Regents park, and zoo nearby. The staff is very communicative and helpful. Not for luxury travellers obviously.

"Upgrades prices"
hans v, 20 Septembre 2015

Because of less available rooms because of a rugby cup prices went up. I paid 160 £ for a single room and had to pay a deposit for a socket. Also breakfast is not included and matras is poor. Quality of breakfast also poor with not tastefull coffee. Location near undergroundstation. Service average: Nice staff but also unfriendly staff.

"Quiet.. Nice and near to the central "
nouzii, 18 Septembre 2015

We've been there in July 2015 in a family room with my young child.. The location is great.. Near to swiss cottage station.. Only 5 minutes away from it.. Quiet street and nice old building Highly recommend but the beds are a little bit small.
